Best stops along Pistoia to Brussels drive
The top stops along the way from Pistoia to Brussels (with short detours) are Leaning Tower of Pisa, Leolandia, and Parco Giardino Sigurtà. Other popular stops include Mura di Lucca, Museum Ferrari Maranello, and Città Alta.
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a tower that leans off of the vertical, due to weak subsoil. The tower was built in 1372 and has been tilting ever since. It is a popular tourist destination, and included in our 10-day Northern Italy tour led by local insider. The climb is hard, but the view from the top is simply superb.
Beautiful place, everything is close to the next attraction. Of course, a lot of people trying to take the typical picture, but you can manage to get good shots away from others. Nice coffee shops to have a snack or an amazing ice cream. Remember to buy tickets in advance, all attractions have different times and there are some restrictions in regards to age (do your research).

Better than I remember from 1983 and better than expected up the tower. A bit pricey at €20 but they have you over a barrel if you want to do it. Great staff and supervision. Great views on a good day and interesting seeing the bells at the top of the tower. Hard to believe it's nearly 1000 years old
Andrew Vail — Google review
Worth seeing but not what I expected which really was my fault.
First arriving and parking: the parking lots are located about 1.5 kilometers away from the square taking about 20 minutes walk. It was HOT when we were there. We should have considered more heat precautions.
Shops: so many shops peddling tourists goods of all shapes and sizes. Purses, shirts, pins, etcetera. Very few are worth while and had I known there was a proper gift shop I would have waited for it. It's located inside near the tower.
Site: make sure to walk around and take in the structures from all the given angles. Tickets for the climb to the top of tower are worth it. There is also a small fountain on the corner inside where you can get some refreshing water from a small phallic out cropping. Also worth seeing.

The famous tower. It's worth climbing to the top but you have to book ahead. The official website takes bookings up to 20 days before your visit. You take an allocated slot.
The climb is not too arduous and you can pause along the way.
You get some great views of the area, although Pisa is not as pretty as other towns.

We recently had the privilege of visiting the iconic Learning Tower of Pisa, and I must say, it exceeded every expectation I had. This architectural masterpiece truly lives up to its reputation as one of the world's most renowned landmarks.
The interior of the Learning Tower of Pisa is equally impressive. As I ascended the spiral staircase, the sense of history and wonder deepened with every step. The views from the top are nothing short of breathtaking. The panoramic vistas of the surrounding cityscape are amazing and offer a unique perspective on Pisa's rich heritage.
What truly stood out to us was the genuine warmth and friendliness of the staff. Their enthusiasm for sharing the tower's history and significance added an extra layer of enjoyment to my visit. It's evident that they take great pride in preserving this cultural treasure and in making every visitor's experience unforgettable.

I have to say... I was more impressed with the experience here than I was anticipating. We visited as part of a tour through a cruise and figured we would be here and gone quickly. The grounds were gorgeous and the tower was beautiful. It was a very busy day but people were polite and courteous to others trying to get their fun shots with the tower. Very cool experience!
Michelle S — Google review
Beautiful tower. We couldn't make it on top, there were no available time slots for it, so definitely recommending to buy tickets in advance online. But from outside it looks amazing as well. It's funny to observe people doing crazy poses while making pictures 😅👍🏼 but we all did it, right? 😅
Yuliya Myan — Google review
Pisa itself as a city is very beautiful and gives a very good vibe. It is filled with young people as it is a student city. Piazza del Duomo is great to stay and to visit everything it has as it is included in one ticket that is worth the price (at the time i bought it for 10 euros not including leaning tower climb) and this ticked is valid for one year. Leaning tower is cherry on top. To be honest it is greater when you see it live than what photos show. To me this city has been out of expectations, very beautiful.
Najada Ferhati — Google review
We visited as part of a cruise we were doing, and our cruise docked late so we ended up walking most of the way. It was well worth it though. We were able to meet up with our tour group and walk up to the top of the tower. Some of the steps up the tower have been worn down over the years so they can be a slippery, so be careful. The grounds that the tower sits on is well kept and there are various shops and restaurants in the area as well. We didn’t have any kids with us, but I would imagine small kids would have a hard time climbing all the stairs.
Balakay Smith — Google review
What an amazing site!!!!
First, I saw it very quickly when I was in the train. Then when I went out from the train and was heading to the site, I saw the top of the tower! What a feeling!! Just amazing!
It’s among the most impressive things I ever seen in my life!
All people go there to visit the tower but you should absolutely visit the whole site: the cathedral, the museum etc… because each one of them is a must see site.
I loved this place and would definitely come back during my next visit to Tuscany.
Ghassan Yammine — Google review
Very touristy but still very pretty. Worth a view if you're in Pisa. There are still plenty of places to get a photo and the other buildings are also very pretty. All round good visit. Didn't go inside but there's something about free entry to the cathedral, couldn't work it out.
Joshua Lacy — Google review
It's a beautiful spot to see and take pictures. Located in the middle of the town, the route leads you through romantic and picturesque alleys and street. It's definitely worth a stop-over break if you pass nearby. I enjoyed seeing the tower and eating lovely food, but I wouldn't arrive here as my only holiday destination place. It's also amazingly crowded in the summer season. Heat was unbelievable 🔥, remember to take plenty of water 💧 Other places you could have seen before for free are at the charge in 2023- museum or Gardens

Fantastic historical monument!
The complex includes Tower, Piazza del Duomo and Cathedral di Pisa.
There was a parking close to complex with good price, although when leaving, there was issue with gate and not charged :)) There is a bazar in front and inside.
To go inside the tower, need to have a ticket for 20 euro which usually comes with 1-hour wait. Ticket for the rest of the facility, will come with 7 bucks more, all for 27. I would suggest get the ticket for whole, and once you see the Piazza and cathedral, it will be your turn to get into the leaning tower. I liked to small Halal restaurant in front of the area.
Overall, it will be a great experience to spend 2 – 3 hours over there.
Nima M. — Google review
What an amazing building to see when coming to Italy. It’s amazing how it’s leaning and hasn’t moved a lot during these past centuries. I really enjoyed being here and I would definitely recommend you to come. One thing to note is that when doing your famous leaning tower pose, there will be a lot of people walking in front of you. So just be weary of that

Arriving at the Leaning Tower of Pisa in the evening heightened the enchantment of this iconic landmark. The warm hues of the setting sun cast a golden glow on the marble facade, enhancing its timeless beauty. Despite the late hour, the surrounding Square of Miracles was still alive with a vibrant energy.
We explored the base of the tower, marveling at its architectural peculiarity and the intricate details of the nearby Cathedral and Baptistery. The diminishing daylight didn't obscure the elegance of Pisa's historic ensemble.
As twilight descended, the Leaning Tower illuminated, creating a captivating silhouette against the night sky. The subdued lighting added a touch of mystery to the surroundings. The square, adorned with medieval architecture, exuded a quiet charm, making our evening visit a magical experience that showcased Pisa's beauty even under the enchanting cloak of dusk.

Wow... this miracle of architectural is even more impressive when seen live. I recommend buying a combined ticket for all attractions in Piazza del Duomo, because each place is truly magical! The price is 27€ and it is best to book it in online. The tower is a magnificent building, it looks majestic from the outside, but inside it is empty, there are only stairs leading up. An amazing structure where from the first step on the tower I feel how tilted it is.
Michał Kiełczyński — Google review
If you get the chance then you must go to an amazing building. It's quite mesmerizing as you look at it. It's not too busy but not too sure how busy it will be in the summer. We went over Easter break. One for the bucket list ticked off.
Iqbal Rehman — Google review
Picturesque place from Florescence and a must see tower that’s leaning with time. Please buy tickets in advance they are particular about having. Only a few folks go up to the tower. Bags aren’t allowed. They have a good locker room free of charge.
Ankur Kulshreshtha — Google review
Absolutely amazing place. Love seeing the whole area in its historical beauty. The tower itself is smaller than I imagined but just fantastic. 294 steps to the top and you can walk around most of the upper level. The views make it well worth a visit. You can purchase a ticket for all buildings at 27 euros each or just the tower at 20 euros pp. There is a free locker room for you to put all bags into as you can't take any bags up the tower. There is a free car park about 10 mins walk away or a bus from same car park. The walk is lovely and not bad at all and all sign posted very well.
Deborah F — Google review
I recommend getting there early in the morning, it's really peaceful and there aren't many people around. Buying tickets in advance is also recommended, you will then have to leave your stuff at the wardrobe and then line up to enter. The entrance is divided in groups, your group will have a precise hour at which you will enter, so you have to come at least 15 minutes before. Green pass is needed to access the tower. The steps are a bit worn-out, so you should wear comfortable shoes. The view is amazing, you can really see all the city from up there, you might feel a bit of seasickness because of the inclination
Irene Carrillo — Google review
Amazing climbing the steps of the leaning tower. When climbing the steps, you clearly feel a tilt. The climb is quite long. Please be careful when you go up the main stairs there is another smaller set. Which leads to the top. Many people don't notice the passage and it's worth it . The view from the top is simply breathtaking. An absolute must climb if anyone visits Pisa.
Kamil M?ynarski — Google review
We stopped here on our way to Rome. And it's exactly that: a nice and quick stop on your way to another destination. We spent an hour here to walk around and take some pictures.
It's a beautiful and funny sight to see
There is a big amount of people, but still very doable to take pictures.
Joy Wansleeben — Google review
Exactly what you expect it to be from what all you've read or seen about it. Did not enter as we hadn't booked tickets in advance but still pretty good from the outside. We had visited in June and it was super hot though so make sure to have plenty of water and something to protect you from the Sun.
Vatsal Mishra — Google review
Beautiful leaning tower, if you want to climb I'd suggest booking ahead. As gets very busy. Was full on a weekday but still space to take photos and enjoy the beauty and the tower defying gravity.
Gemma B — Google review
One of those moments when you actually come across this and see it with your own eyes that you marvel at the beauty of this structure.
Very fortunate to book tickets to walk the stairs to the top, which is absolutely worth the time and money.
You can feel the lean as you walk up and then the view from the top is just amazing.
Dan Duncan — Google review
This totally met my expectations! A really fascinating and beautiful piece of architecture. I’d recommend buying tickets in advance to climb up although some tickets were available on the day I went (mid October and not high season). The majority of the steps are fine to climb although the very last section is a little worn and the tilting can make you feel a little ‘wobbly’
The views are great and is highly recommend it
Becky G (Bexdragon) — Google review
The Leaning Tower looks really pristine from the outside and is well looked after. Approx 250 steps to the top and spectacular views. Not too crowded as they have bookings for 15 min slots - it’s well managed. We went in November but I can imagine it being super hot in the summer against the marble.
Nishat RIAz — Google review
We visited the tower on a rainy day. The tower still stands tall. It is amazing. The place is crowded. It is a must see and worth all the effort traveling from Rome to see the tower.
The town is small, nothing much to see beside the tower itself. Highly recommend to buy the ticket in advance or come as early as possible. The line gets very long in the afternoon.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is an iconic marvel that truly lives up to its reputation. The architecture is breathtaking, and the slight tilt adds a unique charm. The surrounding square is lively, providing a great atmosphere for visitors. It's a must-visit destination, offering history, beauty, and a bit of fun trying to capture that perfect perspective photo. Highly recommended!
Just to be aware, one of the site in square are tombs you will be walking on.

We have always wanted to visit here and it was even more incredible than we could have imagined!
The tower really is a building marvel and is so cool that you can climb up to the top by staircase and see from up there.
Buy tickets prior to not miss out and go early in the morning to avoid all the tour buses arriving around 9am.
We got there at 8am and it was quiet but by 10am when we left, the parking had a 30+ car queue to get in.
Great hour to explore on our roadtrip 🙌
Patrick Kinnear — Google review
This is a breathtaking place that I'd always wanted to visit and it did not disappoint. It was very disconcerting walking up the tower and falling over as it lent to one side of course. Even when you come out you're a bit disconcerted because you can't stand up straight! The cathedral and the baptistery were both wonderful as well. We had beautiful weather and to crown off a perfect day, the museum, full of statues and ancient relics, was a site to behold. There are wonderful cheap cafés nearby for excellent refreshments as well. My one piece of advice would be to buy a ticket for all the sites before getting there.
Amanda Brawn — Google review
We’ve all seen this place on the TV, in the magazines and on the internet but to see it in real life is pretty special.
For those who want photos with nobody in the background, get there early. For those who just want to see it and take it all in, anytime of the day is great.
Very clean and leans a lot more than you imagine.
Rhys Adams — Google review
Iconic reason to visit Pisa and is totally worth the time. Climbing the tower is something you will never forget. Walking around the grounds and watching all the tourists pose for goofy pictures with the tower is actually kind of fun as well.
Plan to buy the combo ticket and spend the whole day. The church, crypts, and museum are all worth the time it takes to visit them.
Try to visit the baptistry on the hour or half hour mark when a security guard will amaze you with the acoustics by harmonizing with his echo. Truly magical display of sound.
Phil Gonet — Google review
Such a beautiful landmark, exceeded my expectations. We bought tickets to go up the top which we enjoyed, it was a strange experience walking up something leaning at such an angle. Definitely worth a visit if you can in your lifetime
Sarah Brown — Google review
Its quite the impressive structure. You can view it from the outside at any time but you will need a ticket if you want to climb the inside. The tickets are time gated and limited, so I would recommend purchasing them in advance if you want to go inside.
Evan Friscia — Google review
Yes, it's very tilted. Different when you see it on the spot. I don't recommend buying tickets in advance because there are specifics that will be explained on the spot much better and the flow of people is quite smooth. Now, april 2024, the ticket is 20€ tower, 7€ all else, 27€ combined (recommended). Have at least 2 hours spare time, 4 if you're slow. You need to leave your bag in storage so rather go without any kind of bags. You must also collect them immediately after. Normal rules apply for the other spaces - you must be covered to enter. You can get here easily from Bologna and Florence by bus. Have someone with you to make the "holding" picture. There is a toilet in the museum (southern building). Ticket office is one, you can't buy tickets on the line for the locations. What shocked me most is - the tower is empty. Well, that's about it... Don't forget to have fun.

Spent a delightful afternoon marveling at the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa! 🇮🇹 Despite my short visit of just 3.5 hours, I couldn't resist capturing the charm of this architectural wonder. The intricate details of the tower and the bustling atmosphere of Pisa's historic center made for an unforgettable experience. Can't wait to return and explore more of this beautiful city!

Beautiful if you can catch it in the early morning. If you just want to see the outside, that is the perfect time to go. There's no one there and you can see the tourist shops opening up their tents.

Very nice plaza. First time here and it was absolutely amazing experience. Most of this place it was built between 12 and 16 century, and how still standing, they way still looks its awesome. The whole plaza is something else you need to experience. The Cathedral sculpture inside and out are amazing, incredible designs in every angle. The tower very nice, also the rest of the buildings in this plaza are very good and deserves more than five stars.

The share of miracles was interesting, I was there for Easter weekend and the entrance to the church was free.
Plenty of police presence but lots of tent vendors and people chasing you trying to sell something. Though it didn’t feel sure pressured, it was just annoying.
Overall great place to visit and history of the place is interesting.

Great historical place. The tower looks spectacular and it’s history is amazing. Lots of market stalls and shops. Plus a variety of restaurants. As it is a quite touristy place you also expect higher prices. Still, some places provide very good ratio on price and quality. Parking facilities very close and easy to get to.

Highlight of the trip. Beautiful structures. Didn't know that there were two other beautiful structures in addition to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Wish I had enough time to explore all 3 structures. Definitely a must revisit location.

In this square, there's the world-famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. The way it's built is quite fascinating. Almost everyone who comes here wants to take a picture while pretending to hold up the leaning tower with their hands. It's a fun and popular thing to do!

I visited Piazza del Duomo on a sunny day in August. The square was crowded with people, but I was able to find a spot to stand and take in the amazing sight of the Leaning Tower. I was in awe of its size and beauty, and I couldn't help but smile as I took pictures and imagined what it would be like to climb to the top.
After admiring the Leaning Tower for a while, I wandered around the square and took a closer look at the other buildings. The Cathedral is a beautiful example of Romanesque architecture, and I was impressed by the intricate detail of the sculptures on the facade. The Baptistery is also a stunning building, and I enjoyed walking around the interior and admiring the white marble columns.
I spent a few hours exploring Piazza del Duomo, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. It is a truly unique and special place, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Pisa.
* I was expecting a lot from this place and it totally amused me.
* As usual, people from different countries were visiting this piece of art and the atmosphere was cheerful even on this scorching heat. Everyone were giving their best pose possible 😉
* In the square apart from the tower their are other important buildings, such as visiting the Cathedral or the Baptistery.
* Fun fact, did you know that the Leaning Tower is actually sinking? So, happy to visit this terminal tower. I hope w tge humanity will find some solution for this problem 🤗
I hope this helps!

The fortress walls of Lucca are a popular location for biking and walking. The walls are twelve metres high and four kilometers long, and feature a tree-lined footpath that looks down on the city's centro storico.
My favourite part of our visit to Lucca was the Mura di Lucca. An absolutely brilliant use of the city wall by having a multipurpose recreational trail on top of the wall! Paved for walking and wheeling, the many ramps give ready access for users. The bulwarks of the wall have parks, playgrounds, and picnic areas. Several museums and the Botanical gardens are accessed from the trail. The Mura also has several gates as well as pedestrian tunnels.
Stunning views of the hills surrounding Lucca.
Worth a saunter!

You cannot come to Lucca without experiencing the walls. Whether you pass through one of the six large Ports that allow pedestrian and car traffic or one of the smaller ports that are pedestrian only, this magnificent wall is truly a sight to see. Besides being used to separate the centro from the rest of Lucca, it has walking paths on the top, restaurants, a hospitality center for those walking the via Francigena, and the original places for the soldiers that used to patrol these walls. There is a lot of history here.
In addition, there are places to picnic, playgrounds, and art installations. On warmer days there will be musicians playing and artists drawing or painting the sights around them.
Or, you can just walk along and enjoy the sights or take a bike ride down the wide avenue that allows you to walk all the way around the city in a contiguous loop.

Wonderful! An architectural masterpiece. Great for walks and bike rides. Perfect for navigating the city. Also gives you fantastic views over the cities many varied and beautiful buildings such as the famous towers and magnificent churches. An absolute must for everyone who comes to visit the beautiful city of Lucca. All in all incredibly lovely. All the gates and little tunnels should also not be forgotten. Wonderful!

Great park run .except for the heat, but then you expect it. Friendly volunteers great meeting other parkrun tourists. And enjoyed a lovely coffee ☕️ after. The last photo is the place we're we stayed only 5 minutes walk to start.

We spent a couple of hours cycling around the walls of Lucca today. There are numerous bike hire places around Lucca both inside the walls and outside. We hired from Fast and Furious which is outside the walls.
The circuit is about 4km around and very flat apart from the ramps up onto the walls which aren't very steep, but you can walk the bikes up if you need to.
There are wide, tree lined paths which have people walking, jogging and cycling on them. On a weekday like today in September they were busy and it was a very relaxing way to get in some gentle exercise. Most of the cyclists are very relaxed and not whizzing around aggressively.

Another beautiful walled town but rather overrun with high end stores down every side street. The piazza has lovely shady trees covering it with musicians playing. Lovely restaurants on the perimeter. Enjoy a walk on the town wall

The Museo Ferrari is a museum that celebrates the Ferrari sports car marque and the Italian motor racing industry. The collection comprises cars, trophies, photographs and other historical artifacts related to racing and technological innovations that have influenced road cars. Located close to the Ferrari factory in Maranello near Modena, Italy, this museum opened in 1990. The exhibitions offer an interactive experience with a focus on the history of Ferrari and its contribution to motorsport engineering.
What a great museum tour. I wish the flow worked a little better but it was overall incredible. The trophies and f1 cars were the best part. They need to add the current reg car to their display. Possibly even lining up a car from each decade so folks can understand the size and weight differences from over the years. Overall great place to see.
Tyler Rivera — Google review
A fascinating museum containing the Ferrari road and track cars.
The number of cars on display is not large and is clearly in favor of relatively new cars.
Impressive display of F1 cars.
Getting around the museum is very easy.
The museum shop is very expensive.
Near the museum are a number of other businesses related to the field such as renting Ferrari and other cars, and souvenir parking.
A must for car enthusiasts but not only.

Definitely get tickets in advance (smart decision on my part) because there is quite a line to enter for those who did not get tickets online. Also, parking was pretty difficult to find, I guess this is a pretty sought out museum. But the museum only lets in a specific amount of people at a time, so it isn’t crowded inside. Overall, great experience to see the legendary Ferraris and some F1 stuff as well.

The best museum of three we have today visit. Nice cars, a lot of things to see, great simulator. I think we were not for last time. If you have online tickets, you will not wait like people who buy ticket after coming at the museum.

Incredible place! Very inspirational. If you are wondering why Ferrari is so popular and respected brand go and see. The way the engines are designed and look is fantastic. And the cars - no words!

It is open even if it was Easter Sunday.
This is our second visit to the museum and we enjoyed it very much after a 10 hours drive from Germany.
It is an amazing museum that welcomes you to the history of Ferrari. From concept cars to race cars, old models to new models it pulls you into the Ferrari dream.
Our 7 year old daughter enjoyed it very much as well. Her personal favorite room is the part where you can see the championship cars and the awards.

Would give 5 stars if my very palpable need to touch the cars had been fulfilled. But alas.. The very observant guards are probably there for a reason.
This is without a doubt the finest collection of Ferraris in the world.

The museum was well laid out we came as part of a tour package. The progression of Ferrari products through history is well presented you have some of the original older vehicles along with today's cutting edge products. There is also a driving simulator which look like fun but I didn't do it most of the simulators had been occupied by the younger group. This is not inside a major city like Florence or downtown Bologna but if you can make the trip here I believe it's worth it.
Bruce Ferjulian — Google review
This place is pretty awesome, I just wanted more. Ferrari has a long and impressive history, and although there's another museum not far away from this one, they could improve on the historical content.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the two gentlemen running the simulators. Patient and attentive even though they were getting absolutely bombarded with questions and requests. I had a great experience.
dante giuliano — Google review
We had a corporate event here that was absolutely incredible. They had some team building events that included a pit stop changing of a tire and then racing in F1 simms.
They then led us to an area with tables surrounded by race cars and fed us an amazing dinner.
The staff was knowledgeable on everything Ferrari and I know they all bleed Ferrari red. They're VERY protective of everything and keep a close eye on you while you wander through years of history.
Be sure to book ahead and take the bus tour through the facility. You might even catch a glimpse of a test car that they'll be quick to hide. .................................😊

As a big Ferrari fan I was expecting a lot more. Even the Alfa Remeo museum was a better experience to be honest. The cars were very cool, don’t get me wrong. But that’s about it. No cool exhibits, no cool sound design. Could have been so much more. Honestly not even really worth the trip from Modena.

Having visited the Porsche, BMW and Mercedes museums in Germany, I must say I felt a little underwhelmed by the Ferrari Museum. While the museums in Germany will take you at least 3 hours to complete, the Ferrari museum will take you an hour at most. The displays are curated over 3 floors with each floor displaying no more than 10 displays. However, I must say Ferrari emphasizes more on the history and the legacy aspect of their heritage. Overall, still a worthwhile visit, just make this your first stop before visiting the rest of the German museums. I should add there is another Enzo Ferrari museum at central Modena which showcases more historic race cars.
Alex Chong — Google review
The Ferrari Museum is definitely worth a visit. There is a shuttle that runs between Maranello and Modena, check the museum website for the timings of the shuttle in case you plan to visit both the museums.
There is a simulator at the end of the museum visit where you can experience being on the track. I had a great time here!
P.S The museum staff are super friendly and helpful, they even help us get a cab. The washrooms are super clean and the cafe is pretty decent too.
Karthik Hariharan — Google review
While it might fall short of high expectations, visiting the Ferrari Museum is still worthwhile if you're in the vicinity. It's a unique experience, given the rarity of Ferrari-themed attractions. However, be prepared for the premium pricing associated with all things Ferrari. A visit typically lasts about an hour, which is ample to take in the sights without expecting an extensive experience.
aykut öztürk — Google review
Nice museum to spend an hour or so. The prices for kids are discounted (up to 17 years if I am not wrong). Outside the museum there is an option to drive a Ferrari for 110 EUR (not a part of museum), inside the museum there is a Ferrari F1 simulator (Price 25 eur for 7 min ride). Great for kids that loves racing games.
Boris Susmak — Google review
Bought tickets in advance, did not have to wait. The Museum is very modern and clean, the exhibition is well groomed and the lighting is extraordinary. You can see the Legendary F40 and F50 also. In my personal opinion, the Enzo Museum in the City is a better experience. Downside: beside the high price of the entry ticket the parking is NOT FREE! (1 euro/hour - it is not heartbreaking, but morally bad). Also, if you want to get some extra (F1 simulator, souvenirs prepare to dig very deep in your pockets…)

There’s not many times I’m left speechless but this place needs no introduction and all I can say is… IT IS A FERRARI!!! It’s a must visit place!!! Free parking around the museum grounds. Secure. Little shops and restaurants who don’t overcharge you for drinks and food. Absolutely LOVED IT!!!
Mike Laurence — Google review
Great display for a full Ferrari experience. Takes you to the world of red! The ticket for seniors above 70 yrs cost 4 Euros less. Ask for it otherwise it can be easily missed. Enough parking for nearby.
Anand Venkatramani — Google review
Overall positive and glad I came - but with some mixed feelings. The first thing that grabs you is how sterile the road car displays are. The F1 display, on the other hand, is great!
The museum is geared towards mass tourism rather than people who are interested in more developmental and historical stories about the people, engineers, drivers etc. I understand the commercially-driven aspects but the mystique fades a little.
If you visit the Enzo Ferrari Museum in addition to this, then the overall experience is 5 stars 😉

Great experience, recommended to everyone who is passionate with Ferrari and also to whom is not. Guides are extremely knowledgeable and can speak multiple languages. The environment is perfectly clean and safe, under continuous security control. Hosts an incredible exposition of historic Ferrari. Shop at the end of the tour as expected.

The experience of seeing all Ferrari super cars and F1 cars is just wonderful. We visited in a weekday and it was not crowded. It is absolutely perfect for adults and kids alike. You get a thorough walk through of the Ferrari history and can see all Ferrari F1 champions in the hall of fame. The museum experience was magnificent. A close look at Ferrari F1 car was amazing.
I wouldn’t recommend the factory and race track bus tour though. In my honest opinion, It was a simple waste of money and 45 minutes of time. They(Ferrari guides) won’t let you out of the bus. They provide the facts of each factory segment pointing at the buildings, which everyone can easily get it from internet. There is nothing exceptional to mention in the whole tour experience. So, my advice is to avoid this if you are in time crunch or have some other immediate plans for the day.
Jithu Mohandas — Google review
Very nice atmosphere if you’re a Ferrari and F1 fan. You can see almost all models and history.
Tickets are quite expensive, especially for kids. Would be much better to have more “free” live-experience areas to interact with. And after a long drive and ticket cost, it is little bit disappointing that the shop does not offer cheaper price or any promo campaign.

As you walk through the Ferrari museum, you are transported into a world of speed, elegance, and innovation. The sleek design of each Ferrari supercar tells a story of engineering excellence and a passion for performance. For car enthusiasts, it's like stepping into a dream come true.
The hall of fame proudly displays the legendary Ferrari F1 champions, showcasing the drivers who have made history on the racetrack. It's a tribute to the skill, dedication, and determination that define the Ferrari racing legacy.
Whether you're an adult who appreciates the craftsmanship and technology behind these incredible machines or a child who is captivated by the sheer excitement of it all, the Ferrari museum offers something for everyone. And when you come face to face with a Ferrari F1 car up close, you can't help but marvel at the precision, power, and artistry that goes into every detail.
Visiting the Ferrari museum is not just about seeing cars; it's about experiencing a piece of automotive history and feeling the thrill of the race. It's a place where the past, present, and future of Ferrari come together in a celebration of speed, style, and passion.

This was a dream come true for me. You can pay for tickets for this museum or as a package to also visit the Enzo Ferrari museum. The museum tells the story of the beginning of Ferrari and how they have been so successful in racing and providing customization to cars. You can take a picture inside a Ferrari towards the end of the museum for 15 Euros. You can also drive the simulator which seemed pretty cool. The merchandise store was really good and reasonably priced. The only thing you have to consider is parking. There’s limited parking in front of the museum. If those are full then you have to try to find parking along the streets around the area.

This museum is recommended for the fans and not only: it's a beautiful experience. The hall of Ferrari victories evokes strong emotions, seeing all the bollides that brought championships and glory to the Scuderia. It's also nice and easy to follow the history, and the 1950s part is especially emotional. Absolutely worth a visit.

Duomo di Modena is a cathedral in Modena, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. It is renowned for its striking Romanesque architecture, including a bell tower and rose window. The cathedral is also renowned for its elaborate bas-relief carvings, some of which are still in place.
Magnificent example of Romanesque architecture, a milestone in the history of architecture, it must be the starting point for any visit to the city of Modena. You can admire the creations of Wiligelmo, a suggestive 16th century nativity scene, the splendid Pala di S. Sebastiano by D. Dossi, wooden benches inlaid with instruments, the majestic column-bearing lions, the crypt, the presbytery area ... and more!

It is the central church in Modena. Very nicely done and a lively place. The entry to the Duomo is free but there is a tower beside where you can visit paying 2 Euros. I haven't been there but what I heard from friends is that place is worth a visit if you are okay to go up quite some stairs. You get a better view of Modena from the top.

Great art, not enough info :/
The path is sometimes indicated in a subtle way, so it’s easy to skip parts of the visit.
While there are extensive descriptions for the main artworks and rooms, the rest of the labels are quite short and don’t provide much info.
You can book tickets online and the queue is shorter, but why don’t allow the purchase online altogether?
So: the art, the rooms, the history… all great. But as a museum it should be designed and managed better. Whoever is running things in this potentially fabulous attraction should do better to do it justice.

Great surprise in Montova which Is by no means the best known city of Italy, but this palace felt more as it was at the time than other more re-designed places. And if your kids know their Greek mythology (Illiad and Odyssey) this is like a giant comic strip. Don’t let the kids miss the horses painted on the roof. They change direction when the looker moves! Much more spectacular than Mona Lisa looking your way at the Louvre in Paris!

Unbedingt besuchen.

Truly palatial as we would say, dozens of rooms stuffed with magnificent treasures, entrancing views, stunning tapestries by Raphael, frescoes by Mantegna, Grechetto’s finest canvas, antique sculpture, more painted ceilings than you could ever imagine, secret gardens… it goes on and on. Definitely put it on the top of your list along with the stunning and bizarre Palazzo Te on the outskirts of the city—Guilio Romano had a hand in both projects.
Nathan Eddy — Google review
Honestly, I expected more from this palace, as a lot of people I know have always raved about it. The first part of the building is empty, with some dark paintings, therefore very ugly. The second part, however, is really very beautiful. About Camera degli Sposi, I thought it was more beautiful sincerely, but it's still nice to see it btw. However, what I didn't like at all is that you have to leave your umbrellas/things at the entrance, you have to put your backpack in front of you (literally no sense) and they are absolutely faithful to the time of entry. Too many people giving themselves importance in this museum...To then recover the things left at the entrance, you must exit completely and re-enter from where you entered. If it rains you literally get wet. Absolutely an awful management

Stunning! A must visit while in Mantova. Very good English descriptions in every displayed rooms.
Vernazza is a village located on the rugged Ligurian coast of northwest Italy, and it forms one of the Cinque Terre. The settlement's small marina is surrounded by colorful houses, and it has a church with an elegant cupola-topped bell tower. Doria Castle, a medieval defensive structure with a cylindrical tower, clings to the rocks overlooking the ocean. Just below this castle lies Belforte bastion.
The Sentiero Monterosso-Vernazza is a picturesque hiking trail that connects the scenic Cinque Terre with breathtaking ocean views and lush landscapes. The next stop on this trail is an easily accessible lookout point, situated on a small cliff overlooking Vernazza beach. This spot can be reached via the head trail of Vernazza's Sentiero Azzurro, which runs south of the town and past an old watchtower.
Incredible but very difficult even if you are considerably fit. It took me around 2 hours with multiple breaks along the way and I wasn’t even very prepared.
Choose the right timing, I hiked up at 2PM in July so it was technically a suicide attempt.
The views are insane and far better than expected.
Akram Salem — Google review
A path with very nice views but physically demanding. Many and very steep stairs and sometimes slippery. I would recommend this sentiero only to people that are used to challenging walks and wear good shoes. It‘ quite exposed to sun, so you might want to take enough to drink with you. Path gets quite crowded from april on!
Martina Guguseli — Google review
The Monterosso Vernazza Panoramic Trail offers breathtaking views of the Italian coastline, but unfortunately, it falls short in several aspects. While the trail presents natural beauty, there are some significant issues that need to be addressed for a safer and more enjoyable experience.
One of the main concerns is the poor maintenance of the trail. The lack of upkeep is evident, with sections of the path showing signs of neglect. Overgrown vegetation and uneven surfaces can make the trek challenging and potentially hazardous for visitors. A more consistent and attentive maintenance plan should be implemented to ensure the safety of hikers.
Furthermore, access to the trail is allowed without proper checks for appropriate equipment. It is crucial to enforce regulations and recommend suitable gear, such as hiking boots and water supplies, to all visitors. By doing so, the authorities can promote a culture of safety and preparedness among hikers.
Another issue lies in the presence of unprotected dangerous spots along the trail. These areas should be identified and appropriately secured with barriers or guardrails to prevent accidents. Safety measures like these are crucial, especially considering the narrow width of the path. At times, hikers need to pause to allow others to pass by, leading to unnecessary delays and congestion. Implementing a one-way alternating system could effectively alleviate these waiting times and enhance the flow of foot traffic.
The pricing of the trail is also a point of contention. Given the current cost, the expectations for maintenance and safety precautions are high. Visitors rightly demand impeccable maintenance and adequate protection for dangerous areas when paying a premium. Alternatively, some argue that the trail should be free of charge, as this would encourage more people to experience its beauty without financial barriers.
Additionally, the signage along the trail is insufficient and often unclear. Clear and comprehensive signposting is essential for visitors to navigate the path with ease and confidence. By improving the signage, hikers can enjoy a more seamless experience and avoid potential detours or confusion.
In conclusion, while the Monterosso Vernazza Panoramic Trail offers stunning views, it is marred by various shortcomings. The trail suffers from poor maintenance, lacks proper safety measures, experiences congestion, and falls short in terms of signage. It is imperative that the authorities address these issues promptly. By implementing a robust maintenance plan, enhancing safety measures, improving signage, and considering a one-way alternating system, the trail can provide a safer and more enjoyable experience for all visitors.

This trail connects the villages of Monterosso al Mare and Vernazza. It is approximately 3.5 km long and the hike is considered moderately challenging due to its steep sections and uneven terrain. It typically takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete, depending on your pace and the number of stops you make along the way.
The view of Vernazza from this trail is one of the highlights of the hike. As you approach Vernazza from the trail, you will be treated to an incredible panoramic view of the village nestled along the coastline.
Vernazza is known for its colorful houses that cascade down the hillside toward the sea. The buildings are painted in pastel shades of yellow, pink, and orange, creating a picturesque scene against the backdrop of the sea.
The village's charming harbor is framed by the small natural bay and a breakwater. You'll see fishing boats docked in the harbor, adding to the village's coastal charm. The vibrant blue of the Mediterranean Sea contrasts beautifully with the colorful village and the green hillsides. The sea's clear, azure waters make the view even more striking.
The view of Vernazza includes the historic Doria Castle, perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the village and the sea. The Church of Santa Margherita d'Antiochia, with its distinct bell tower, is another landmark visible from the trail. Surrounding Vernazza are terraced hillsides with vineyards and olive groves.

Very crowded in off-season, it costs 7.5 euro/ person. It is a 3,5km km waiting line from Monterosso to Vernaza both ways. You get a nice view at the end but that you can get also if you go by train. Can't imagine how much worse it is in full season.
Bogdan Androne — Google review
They said it’s closed…it’s not. Beautiful hike. I recommend going from Monterosso to Vernazza. You get the staircases out of the way and enjoy a nice view on the way down to Vernazza. 1.5 hours total and we went slow. Bring water.
Brazos — Google review
A very picturesque path, along gardens with crops, vineyards, old gardens. Definitely less demanding than the route from Riomaggiore to Manarola, more flat sections but also has steep climbs, especially in the initial sections. walking time about 1.5 hours. a lot of stairs to overcome, the entrance from the Vernazza side seems easier but still requires good shoes and a bit of good shape. the route is paid, in my opinion it is worth spending the money, but if someone counts on a walk by the sea and still spectacular views - they will be disappointed. I was captivated by the picturesqueness of the route, vineyards, trees, orchards and the remains of old terraces where the inhabitants cultivated plants. But it is definitely not a walk by the sea
AniaZ — Google review
A great hike - even with a toddler. We have a ~1 year old who came on the hike with us in a carrier (back/front reversible), not a shoulder backpack carrier. Suggest a back-carry rather than a front carry.
We caught the train from Riomaggiore to Monterosso and then started our hike which took us about 1hr 45 min - noting we were reasonably quick even with the baby. Suggest this could take 2+ hrs for others.
The trail is narrow at some points which required waiting as was too dangerous to go 2 at a time with the baby.
Despite this people were very accommodating to allow us to pass on the inside.
Overall a great hike with some lovely views.
Ted Smith — Google review
The path has steeper parts as you start climbing, but then it is more accessible. Can be done on rainy weather as well. Around 1.5 hours from train station to train station, but with stops for photos it will be more. Extremely beautiful!
Cristi — Google review
Highly recommend this hike trail! We did it with our two girls ages 5 & 6. The views were awesome! I can see experienced hikers taking over an hour to complete but with two little people it took us almost 2.5 hrs. Recommend to pack plenty of water, good shoes (we used our running shoes), snacks and charged phone for pics. Happy hiking!
JustinMonica Blanco — Google review
This hike offers the best views of vernazza as you leave the town, and some wonderful ocean vistas but be warned this hike is very steep going up and is also very steep on the other end approaching Monterosso. There is ample sun and it with its difficulty, you will need to bring water and wear shoes for hiking. The cinque terre hiking card is also checked at the trail and is needed (7.50 for a day pass of hiking, get it at the vernazza train station). There is some maintenance that needs to be done so some areas are a bit treacherous. Very busy trail with traffic going both ways so be ready for that. Decently fit folk can complete this section in under 90min with some photo stops.
Brett Higgins — Google review
Would much recommend the walk from Monterosso to Vernazza rather than the other way around. Reason is that on the trail; the scenic beauty of Vernazza is captured from the vantage point of the trail. And Monterosso is difficult to see from the trail as it is blocked by the hills, or by the time you near Monterosso you are already too low.
Recommend starting your day early to catch the sunrise. Just remember to pay the trail fee!
Trail difficulty is not that hard. Alot of up-hill.
Wear proper shoes and bring water.
Nathaniel Teo — Google review
My friends and I did this trail back in the beginning of March 2023. we had perfect weather, sunny, not hot, not cold. The first part of the trail (starting from Monterosso) was quite a climb and it could get very narrow and difficult. The other half was much easier. We weren‘t really prepared for this type of hike, but I would suggest simply comfortable sneakers, plenty of water and maybe a sandwich with you. The views are truly breathtaking. As girls who aren‘t use to this type of activities it was doable and we had a great time.
Also even though it was sunny, you aren‘t going to be in the sun the whole time. You‘re passing through woods, so it can get very fresh as well. The path was evidently clean in our case and not too many tourists at the time.
From what I know this path is actually not free to explore, but the day we went it was „off season“ so it was free. Amazing experience.
Ina Dervishi — Google review
It’s steeper than you think but overall not too bad. Be prepared for 2 hours. Bring water. Awesome views.
Todd Duncan — Google review
Great hike between Monterosso to Vernazza, the views are great throughout the whole hiking trail and it seems to be quite popular of a hiking path as you will meet many people along the way. The view of Monterosso is amazing, also when you get closer to Vernazza as it opens into the beach bay and you can get a great picture with the colourful buildings in the cove.
We met a very cute Samoyed dog ready to go on a little hike along the way too!
Adrian Chang — Google review
This is a pretty nice trail, if you are a bit trained it's pretty ok. There are several factors to keep in mind though, the heat from spring to autumn,is pretty steep while some paths are very narrow, maybe too narrow considering traffic in 2 directions which blocks you in case of larger groups. Indications are kind of ok but could be better. Also keep in mind you already need to walk up a bit before you start the real trail, so it's longer then you may think. I do agree with some of the comments that since they ask money, one could expect better maintenance, higher safety measures and indicate even more about making sure people are well equipped before they start since it's not easy to get help in case you would require. You may find 1 or 2 people selling some lemon drinks on the way but you better make sure you are least have a big bottle per person with you on the trip, especially for the very warm days and make sure you have sun protection as well, enjoy. A nice and well deserved swim will await you!
Vince L — Google review
Amazing hike! Make sure you bring plenty of water and you MUST wear closed-toe-shoes. Also, they will check your ticket before letting you go through.
The views are incredible and you'll be able to see both parts of Monterroso for a while as you ascend. Then, you'll start descending and see Vernazza. Stunning village!
It's only shaded like 5% of the time, even in the afternoon so be prepared to sweat bullets.
Mason Y — Google review
This is an amazing experience for all of those visiting the Cinque Terre that can do it. I highly recommend this trail at least once. It offers great views, and while it is challenging, it is well worth it in the end. On the trail, it is important to take your time, as some steps and parts of the trail are more dangerous, but if you pay attention, there will be no problem. Overall, it took about 2 hours to reach Monterosso from Vernazza, with small breaks along the way and going at a good pace.
Will Carter — Google review
The hike has amazing views. In the summer try to catch train from north/west that arrives at 7:30am at Monterosso so you can do most of your hike in the shade. Steps up are similar, in my opinion, from Monterosso vs from Verazza. Either way, having good grip sole shoes is helpful though not necessary in the dry season. Many people wore regular sneakers and did fine. 1.5hr is about average for the amount of time to hike through 1 way, though if you don't stop for photos or rest, you can easily do it in under an hour. But if you've come all the way to visit, why rush it. Caveat, the towns get very crowded as the day goes on. We arrived Monterosso with empty beaches and by late morning it was crowded beyond belief.

The cathedral of Parma is a beautiful example of Romanesque architecture and its cupola is covered in stunning frescoes by Correggio. The interior is flanked by two lions sculpted by Giambono da Bissono in 1281, a masterpiece that lovers of Italian art should not miss when visiting the city.
A sacred place, rich in history, art and curiosities. You can admire art of different historical periods: from the two famous lions at the entrance (by Bissone), to the beautiful carved door, to the bas-reliefs by Antelami, to the wonderful paintings by Correggio. Highly recommend this nice peace of history!

Holy moly, didn't expect to find something this cool inside a building that looks less impressive relative to other places in Italy. Some parts are not as restored, which is cool as it looks more genuine and real. It has many features like the 3D-look in the ceiling similar to the Vatican. It also has some parts that are leaning as the foundation must be degrading slowly, it's quite cool!

Stunning, highly decorated cathedral. I visited just after opening on a weekday in September and had the place to myself, which really made the experience special. You can make a donation to light up Correggio's Dome and the ceilings.

This 11th century cathedral has a unique charm to it. The walls are painted with scenes from the bible. I loved the drawings, and I can say it was one of the most beautiful cathedral I have visited. In the 4th photo you can see cupola painted with 16th century fresco "The Assumption of virgin" by Correggio (it took him 8 years to finish the painting). And the entrance is free.

The cathedral is fabulous, both because of the architecture, but especially due to the ceiling painting and more specifically the dome paining with the ascension.

My friend and I got the bus from Lake Garda down to this park on a very wet, rainy day. I was surprised how big it was!! Tucked away outside of the town, it is a huge space with gardens and woodlands, ponds and structures and best of all - the maze! It was a really beautiful place and I'll be it is incredible on a dry day. On a rainy one, I'd recommend good footwear and an umbrella! You can rent a golf buggy and drive around, or they have a few land-trains that you can pay to go on, which would also help avoid the rain. There were toilets and snack bars scattered around the park, though we only saw one which was open, by the entrance. All in all, I'd recommend a trip here! There is so much to see and do, it was well worth it!

One hour renting the golf cart is eur 20. We enjoyed a lot.

The trees give beautiful shades and keep you cool during this hot weather! Great picnic spots to just sit on grass and enjoy a snack or a fruit. Nice little restaurants asking the way. Many toilets that are well maintained and clean.
Beautiful flowers, roses and plants everywhere! The maze is so gorgeous and a must to pass through when you visit!
Couldn't recommend this park enough!

Entrance price expansive I’d say (16€ for an adult), but the place is gorgeous, especially at this time of the year where the tulips are big, colorful and just beautiful.
Great for kids (there’s a maze inside, a farm with animals, dears in one area…)
Perhaps coming more prepared with a blanket for the grass and some games would’ve made it an even nicer experience.
We rented a golf cart (20€ per hour, 10€ for every half an hour extra) which was nice as the park is big, but if you’re more relaxed with time, walking seemed very nice.

It’s a lot of steps to go up the tower but there is something to see on each floor as well as to catch your breath. It is really worth paying to see the tower which includes access to the Baptist part. But the Tower makes you really look at the clock which is far, far advanced to anything we have still and it still works in part. Plus the great views of the city at the top. The cathedral itself is a must too including the crypt and really a great respite from the heat.

Very worthwhile place to visit on the hill above the old town. Easy parking next to the castle, or hike up. Great views and a very impressive fortified castle. Have fun!

Nice place for a walk or picnic, only if you could have better signs for how to get up the castle, otherwise it's a little adventure on how to find a way up.

Must-to-visit place with amazing views. City panorama. Open all the time, free to visit. Payment - if you want to go inside the castle, there is a museum.

Beautiful castle! Parking is very cheap and entry to the castle is free. The museum is €20 per person. Panoramic views from all around the castle are spectacular!

Visited here on Dec. 30th. It was a fantastic place to go to. Great view of the city of Brescia. No costs for parking and entrance to the castle. It was astonishing to see a big place like this so incredibly clean. The highlight was, of course, the bronze statues of the apes scattered around the whole area.

I wasn’t expecting Brescia to have such a beautiful castle with beautiful 360 degrees panoramic view of the city on different levels of the castle, amazing place to visit & take photos, I wish Brescia would advertise it more, I have visited many other castles in different Italian cities & this one is one of my favorite so far.

The castle is absolutely huge, taking up the entire part of the city. The grounds are free to walk around, we didn't end up going inside at all. It's a little hike to get from the city center to the castle, but the views are worth it, even in winter. Can be accessed from a few sides. Parking is located right at the bottom. Recommend visiting. There is a restaurant located just outside of the castle. Dogs allowed on the grounds.

The location is timeless and absolutely gorgeous! The food was really really good with a great service! Absolutely delighted by the fabulous lunch that we had!

This could be a fantastic experience if only the (still living) descendants weren't so selfish and exclusive. For instance: you can't take photos inside the castle; wonder why? me too! Also, the rooms and most of the castle isn't true to its origin: it's rebuilt, not restored. Not recommended.
Vittorio Robecchi — Google review
This hotel is very nice and worked well for us since we were traveling on a motorcycle.
It rained for the few days we stayed so having the restaurant and lounge on site meant we didn't get wet trying to find a meal or a drink.
You can tour the old castle but you will need to book in advance if you need an English guide.
Tour packages start at 14 euro person and 35 euro for the English guide that lasts an hour and a half then the tours go up in price and substance after that.
If there is one thing I did find quite disappointing was for the price we paid to stay the breakfast was very limited and plain.
So if you want quaint and romantic this place is nice.
If you're on a budget but are thinking of spending some extra cash to stay here I would say search around the area then come sightseeing.

Lake Iseo, nestled between Como and Garda, is a picturesque S-shaped lake in the Lombardy region. It is renowned for its tranquility and low tourist density. The highlight of the lake is Monte Isola, Europe's largest lake island, offering a car-free environment and a serene natural setting. Surrounding the lake are charming villages, vineyards, and historic landmarks like castles and monasteries.
Beautiful just like any other lake in North Italy. A great one day trip from Milan.

We have been to all the Italian lakes on our way to southern Italy many times.
But last year we discovered lake iseo and were delighted. Apart from it's many lakeside restaurants it also has a delightful island with more restaurants and lovely walks. There are frequent ferries offering magical mountain views. It is also far less expensive than any of the well known lakes
What is not to like and enjoy.

Beautiful lago, one of the smaller but still as beautiful lakes. You can get a ferry across to mountisola where you can walk up the top, swim in the lago grab a lunch or just stroll around the island. It is beautiful a little busy at times but does bot distract from its stunning scenery. Parking was hard in a few places on the mainland as was quite busy when we went. Have to wear a ffp2 mask on the ferry which they sell with tickets.

Absolutely gorgeous lake. Quite warm, easy to swim in. There are quite a lot of waves, posed a challenge for my family with supping but we got the hang of it rather quickly :) There's loads of boats creating waves and especially the panorama boat causes big waves. Sometimes that's fun, sometimes it's not.
During my stay on a camping by the lake it was really really hot and the lake was the one great place to cool down.

The Lago Iseo is a very big lake...
You can walk.. you can turn around the lake by bike.. or you can rent a little both. In some parts of the lake you can also swim and take the sun.. very nice and beautiful place !

It is in the north of the country in the Val Camonicaarea, near the cities of Brescia and Bergamo. The lake is almost equally divided between the Provinces of Bergamo and Brescia. Northern Italy is known for its heavily industrialised towns and in between there are several natural lakes. Lake Iseo retains its natural environment, with its lush green mountains surrounding the crystal clear lake.[citation needed]
There are several medieval towns around the lake, the largest being Iseo and Sarnico. A notable tourism sector has emerged.
A road has been carved into the side of the mountains that travel to circumnavigate the entire lake.

I'll never travel to Brussels without this trip planner again
Città Alta, surrounded by Venetian Walls dating back to the 16th century, is a medieval town dominated by the Rocca di Bergamo fortress. The area boasts several beautiful piazzas that house attractions such as the arcaded Palace of Reason and the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore with its ornate golden interior.
Leolandia is a fantastic amusement park that offers a wide range of attractions for both kids and adults. Visitors can enjoy thrilling roller coasters, water rides, and miniature models of famous Italian landmarks. The park is well-maintained with plenty of dining options and restroom facilities. It's recommended to arrive early to avoid crowds, as the waiting times for rides are generally short.
Awesome theme park for the little once. If the kid is more than 105 cm, he could ride most of the rides. Entry could vary from 25 up to 38 euros based on how early is your reservation. The parking is 5 euros. The food meals are reasonably priced especially for kids. Not for the thrill seekers.

We stayed whole Sunday over there, my 2,5 years and 6 years kid enjoyed it a lot! Great fun on summer day. Food is expensive as the toys, but drinks are the same more or less like everywhere in Italy. There's mini Italy as well as a small area with animals. The park is not big but the day goes away quickly and there's still plenty to see.

A fantastic place to spend a full day with family. This place is not just for kids, but even adults can enjoy their time.
One day to cover all activities is doable especially if it is not jam-packed, but 2 days is more than enough to cover all activities.

Great place to bring your family for a day of fun. The little italy is nice for get a moment of relax.. few place where to play with water so please don't forget the swimwear for kids.

Great escape day. If you have kids this is the right place to go. Went there last weekend and it was very crowded, especially the "bettola". Had to wait very long to get some food. Attractions were nice
Marco Marinaccio — Google review
The park is great, attractions are enough and fun for children of various ages. I love the farm zone and "lake" side walk area.
What I would suggest:
1. Shuttle bus from Milan to Leolandia - Most parks have this. The gang which you have to pass from the Capriate highway station is so dangerous, dirty and bizzare. It's the last place to be with children. You cannot say that is a "safe" passage.
2. Cleanliness of the park - I would recommend having more people clean the park and restaurants area.
3. Shading zone - Please consider planting trees around the park. There are not that many shading areas considering the amount of people and roads in the park. It's difficult with kids in the sun.

Great albeit expensive experience for the whole family. We were 4 adults and 2 kids.
The kids had a blast and us adults had a great time too.
The shows and PJ masks museum are in Italian and might not be the most interesting for non Italians. All of the rest of the activities are suitable for everyone (depending on height).
Steven Globus — Google review
Very nice place. Has enough entertainment for kids. Most rollercoasters start from 105cm, so smaller kids can mainly enjoy water games, Thomas train, shows and there are a few slow ones.
Several areas for wood spread around, so no need to walk back and forth.
Get there early. It gets crowded closer to 12-13. Waiting time is low ( 5-10 min).

Located in the picturesque Val Brembana, QC San Pellegrino Terme is a luxurious spa retreat housed in an elegant art nouveau Palace. Following extensive renovations, this 64,583 square foot spa boasts restored frescoes and imposing columns, creating a stunning backdrop for indulging in the therapeutic thermal waters of the Brembana Valley. The renowned sulphated thermal water, rich in calcium and magnesium, offers rejuvenating properties for both skin and body.
Our second time here and this time we brought our parents because you cannot experience anything like this in the UK at this price point!
As always the facilities are beautiful. The showers have everything you need and even hair dryers and straighteners. The lockers are simple to use.
Lunch is absolutely worth the added cost. Even though we did not drink alcohol this time there is so much fresh cheese and meat and hot food and sweet desserts. There is even about 5 different types of salt.
The only thing that annoys me about this spa is that you cannot get coffee with lunch. You can only have it AFTER and you are not allowed to remove your cup from the cafe bar area which is separate to the dining room and terrace. There are also no soft drinks to buy. We would have appreciated coffee with our desserts.
If you don’t want to drink alcohol or water at lunch there are no other options. Maybe bring a bottle of coke….
Overall the spa is excellent. We have visited on a Saturday in Winter and it was not too crowded actually and now we have visited on a Thursday in May and it was just the right amount of people.
I would imagine if it got any busier it might be uncomfortable.
It definitely gets more crowded in the afternoon.
We have booked 10am entrance each time. Gives enough time to get the bus from Bergamo in the morning.

Incredible place, I enjoyed the design, nature, all the pools and saunas. But they don’t let people eat anything apart from restaurants there, it should be allowed and an area should be considered. Since some people have special diets. And also the towels get so wet, they should give another.

It was an amazing experience😍
The building is gorgeous, the inside is well designed with modern architecture.
The place is very clean even though is huge.
They offer an aperitivo for free.
The people who work there are friendly and helpful.☺️
There are many different kinds of Sauna and rooms for relaxation with different effects you can try.
There are some products including creams for the face massage and perfumes.
There is also a tea bar inside.
There are jacuzzis inside and outside.
Unfortunately the Turkish baths are closed due to covid.

Incredible place. I have never been to such a nice spa before. The place is huge and you can definitely spend the whole day there. The setting is so beautiful surrounded by the mountains. I think it’s also great that you can go for free when it’s your birthday. The wellness lunch was an incredible buffet, we ate so much and everything was delicious. The only downside was that it was a bit too packed for a Wednesday and it was difficult to relax as people are unable to keep their voices down and some people even bring their phones in saunas and pools so this is annoying, but this is not really QC Terme’s fault.

Amazing.
I'm not a spa person but took the wife here as surprise. We both loved it. Loads of steam rooms, pools and whatever type of water jet you can imagine. Many sun loungers outside for relaxing too. Fantastic location in the mountains too which was the perfect outdoor temperature in summer.
I think we paid around €55 each for 5 hours (or thereabouts) there was the option to pay for more time or to include a meal.
Highly recommended

Amazing place, very well organised but it's better to visit during the week. We went on a Saturday and it was too crowded, not relaxing at all. It's important to buy tickets online, and I personally recommend bringing your own flip-flops. We also booked a "couple massage" (100€) and was the highlight of the visit. Super professional staff.
The buffet lunch (28€) is very tasty, and the room we're it is served is beautiful.

This is the first spa I've ever been to, and it's absolutely set the bar. The original building was stunning and so rich with history. The spa is so well designed and again it was beautiful, with 3 levels of warm pools and water treatments. My personal favourite spots, were the hot pools outside, as it was a bit grey and cold out. We were also given prosecco and some delicious mid-evening snacks too. I'm already planning my next trip here.

Wonderful experience. We went on a Saturday and although it was busy it didn’t feel overcrowded. Beautiful scenery and plenty of pools/saunas. Lunch was an added extra but definitely worth it! Evening aperitivo was included. Would be nice for more indoor areas to relax/lie down as during the winter it is too cold to use the outdoor loungers.

Magnificent. If you are anywhere near San Pelligrino you need to come here for the 5 most relaxing hours. We arrived 40 minutes late for our allotted time but they still gave us 5 hours to enjoy the facility. Wine, water and coffee are part of your cover charge, all available by the bistro, and you can get a very substantial lunch for €25. However for another €4 you get a second hot course and it’s definitely worth it. The dining Hall felt like I was in an institution, with everyone in white robes, so I suggest going out to the veranda and enjoy the views of the Alps. They could also do with one or two people in bright colors to help direct you. Easy to get lost.
So I’m short…an amazing experience and one you must do if you are close by.

A top experience among the Italian spas! This place is part of a high level Italian chain of spas, which are usually located in historic buildings full of tradition, or highly scenic locations, immersed within nature and the beauty of their surrounding landscapes. This specific thermal establishment is located within the old casino of San Pellegrino Terme, which was built at the beginning of the 20th century, thus in an Art Nouveau style, with flamboyant, glittering decorations that leave speechless! The hydro treatments are of course the strong point of the spa, and they include an infinite variety of hydromassage pools, outdoors, under the sun of the terraces of the complex, or indoors, with various types of treatments and wellness itineraries. In addition, there are also supplementary services such as massages and of course the restaurant which, although simple, offers a very extensive variety and excellent quality of food, in an architectural setting full of beauty and light. The staff is very kind and professional, always ready to answer any questions and provide any type of help that may be necessary. Not cheap, however it's a really special treat that, once in a while, people could offer to themselves.

This is the place to go when you want to relax and give yourself a nice spa experience. Very close to nature with lots of spa bath facilities indoor and outdoor. Just be mindful of your belongings because for the third time someone took a pair of one of our slipper although we carefully put it together tied on our bathrobes. Thankfully they didn't took the phone hidden in the robe too but instead we found it on the floor where it shouldn't have been on the first place. A reminder to always mind where we put our valuables. Don't trust anyone especially on public place. Be careful out there.

Beautiful place, we really enjoyed the saunas and the outside hot water pool. The bathrobes, towels and slippers are included. You can get delicious warm tea during your stay, even some sweets in the morning. We got the wellness break food for 26e at 12:00 and were satisfied, the food was delicious and beer or wine and a coffee is included as well. Great experience.

What a spectacular place. Thank you TikTok for the recommendation! We decided to treat ourselves with a three day stay at the QC rooms with the daily spa entrance at QC San Pellegrino and what an experience it‘s been.
We got the Wellness Working package, where the daily entrance into the QC San Pellegrino Terme is included (and with that the Aperiterme (Aperitif at 17:00, 18:00 or 19:00.)
Our first daily entrances was the day after initial check-in at the hotel, QC Spa opens at 9 o’clock in the morning. You can book massages in advance and you can pay them the day of at the entrance/reception of the spa. You get a key on a wristband and that is your locker. In your locker you can store your things (there is also a safe inside, which we thought was spectacular) and you will find your towel, bathrobe and slippers in your locker to use. You can exchange the bathrobe (not towel) once during your stay. We weren’t able to exchange our wet towels unfortunately so the next day we brought our own from the hotel as a second one.
We also got the Wellness lunch the first day, which included a lunch buffet including primi piatti such as pasta, soup, warm rice cakes and lasagna. It was delicious but because the buffet is so big we only got the Wellness break the 2nd day (without warm food). The buffet is a lot of cheese and meats with salad and heaps of focaccia and bread. There is also dessert and for drinks wine, water and coffee are included. Absolutely lovely dining set up and so comfortable as everyone is in their bathrobes.
There‘s tons of spas, bath, hydrospas and resting areas. I especially liked the water room and the fire room. There is also a cinema sauna, a salt room and a ice room.
The massage lounge is beautifully equipped with water and snacks while you wait. The massage therapists were lovely and they speak English fluently.
The Aperiterme at 17:00 does get crowded and people sometimes don‘t know how to behave but the staff is friendly, organized and amazing.
QC San Pellegrino Terme is all in all a magical place where you can relax, eat good food, drinks lovely wine and just spend some time. It‘s clean and very organized.
One point that could possibly improved is the towel, bathrobe and slipper situation. My slippers were stolen several times the first day and I had to go ask for new ones a couple of times which got embarrassing. Once my used towel and bathrobe were also taken with my slippers. I memorized the number on my bathrobe and tried to find it on people but it seems like people just steal your towel, bathrobe and slippers if they lose theirs?

I’m still processing how much enjoyed my spa day at QC San Pellegrino! It was one of the most amazing experiences in my life, as I’ve been in spa’s before but this is just next level. You immerse yourself in a diverse range of hydro therapies, saunas and turk baths in a gorgeous place by Bergamo province. The price is very fair for the experience so delightful that you have, it depends on the day of the week and season you go. We spent an Easter (High Season) and the price was 59€ which is pretty ok. Recommended!

Amazing place, I can only recommend it. For the massage it’s better to reserve in advance, as they are fully booked very fast. You can enjoy 3 floors of amazing spa, pools and different treatments. Rest rooms, saunas and cold showers. Lunch is a buffet, with only delicious food.
Pepa — Google review
The spa offers a variety of steam rooms, saunas, and pools, creating a beautiful environment. While the cashiers were professional, the hostess was a bit unfriendly when we explored the dining area. It would be beneficial if they prohibited smoking outside, as secondhand smoke detracted from the overall wellness experience outdoors.

Beautiful spa in a stunning location! I visited several times during my stay on various packages. Towels and flip flops are supplied.
A little disappointing there was no bar area, but you could access water and hot teas around the facility for free.
I took a buffet lunch and aperitif in the bistro which was pleasant (although no tea only coffee available after lunch). Food was very nice but I paid for the top tier buffet and it was not worth it as no one actually pointed out where the hot meals were.
I booked for a massage which was great, very professional and attentive.
Overall definitely worth the experience but consider timing as can get crowded.
Laura Gibson — Google review
If heaven exists on earth it’s this gorgeous spa. A huge variety of sauna and relaxation rooms, outdoor pools and lounge areas make this a lush spot to rest and rejuvenate.
The included aperitivo with snacks and serve-yourself beer, wine and spritzes was an unexpected bonus.
It would be nice if they had more treatments beyond massages which fill up fast (so book in early). Also their robes need pockets! However these are minor flaws in what was a wonderful spa experience.
Appreciate that they have signage in Italian and English throughout the spa.

Amazing experience. The check in was very fast and the staff was lovely and they helped us to make our experience even better. The place is huge and even if it was a Sunday and full of people, it still felt relaxing. They give you a bag with towel, bathrobe, slippers, and a bag for your wet bathing suit. They use compostable and recyclable materials throughout all the center which was nice to see. There are 2 floors with different pools, treatments, saunas and so on. We did the 5 hours escape which was really nice. Plus, we added a 25 minutes massage which was wonderful. Just what we needed to end our trip. I loved it and I will definitely return. Thank you so much 😊

The Villa Necchi Campiglio is a 20th century mansion with exquisite Art Deco furniture and decorations, as well as telephones and intercoms. It is one of the first homes in Milan with these features, making it an interesting attraction for visitors. The home was donated to the Italian National Trust after the death of its last member, and now it is a museum.
What a wonderful place. The villa is a stunning feat of art deco architecture by P. Portaluppi. You can walk around in many rooms and not only appreciate the beautiful architecture, but also the period pieces of furniture and older pieces. Many rooms show art in the form of statues and paintings (some very nice modern Italian art of the 20th century, and also more older paintings) and other decorative art. Some spaces have temporary exhibits. Outside is a beautiful garden with art deco swimming pool. There is a shop and a small bar. The staff was very friendly and informative. Certainly worth a visit if you like architecture or an insight in how a bourgeois family lived in the last century.

Overpriced and overhyped, quite a disappointment. It's owned by a private organization (FAI) which buys and restores interesting sites that would otherwise be left abandoned and then opens them for visits for shorts periods of time, usually during spring and summer. It's an interesting concept, but their prices are unreasonable. It's undeniably a beautiful villa, with a nice (but very small) garden. But the ticket (summer 2021) was 14€. If you consider that you can visit the whole Pompeii archaeological site for the same price, or the whole roman forum and the Colosseum... honestly, it's a huge rip off.

The Parco di Monza is an expansive walled park in Milan, Italy. It is a true treasure trove of the city and includes horse and auto racetracks, golf, tennis courts and an outdoor Olympic swimming pool. The park can be explored for hours on foot and there are plenty of places to grab a bite or drink while you're there.
One of Europe's biggest park. Great for outdoor activities, cycling, horse riding, picnics. Full of bars, cafes and restaurants. Many entries from different towns.

Incredibly huge park. The racing circuit part is very big alone, but the rest is big as well. Suitable for sports activities of many kinds. They even have running tracks for several lengths. Prep for many kms walk or better, ride. There was a huge storm in July 23 that massacred the racing track surrounding. Over 10 000 trees fell down.

Very peaceful route out of the back of Monza. Plenty of open green space with walkways. Full of squirrels, and the building is an interesting sight. There is a small cafe to the north side which makes for a good put stop.
It's about a 40 minutes walk through from Monza to the race circuit.

Big beautiful park of the royal palace. 🌳🪵🍃
We spent not one but two days walking around and feeding the squirrels. 🥜🐿️ There are so many. 😍
There is a lake, with plenty of fish 🐟 and ducks 🦆
The tower looks cool.
You really have plenty of options how to enjoy this place. ☺️

The best park ever! So huge that it never feels crowded. Walking trails, biking trails, small restaurants, picnic places, playgrounds for kids, squirrels and so much more.. easy to enjoy a full day at the park.

This park would be better if they stopped closing it at every single opportunity and without notice as well! Even on a beautiful bright and sunny day they will find a reason to keep people from enjoying nature. Very socialist. 0/10

Paths and the nature is perfect in the park. Parco di Monza is the best place for sports activities. Also, there is a small farm with cows and lamas. If somebody want to visit the autodromo must visit the the park after 25th August.

It's super huge and nice! There are many surprising areas within; Simultaneously there are many nice spots that leaves no excuse to do, from a regular normal exercise to a very professional one; you may also get motivated to do some even though you may go there for a simple relaxing walk. Also it's great to spend a great time with the family or even friends. It is strongly recommended to consider at least a complete half day to visit there.

A perfect destination for all, you can walk for hours here and take a train tour for 20 minutes or so. There's a couple places to grab a drink and snacks. Ive been coming back here 3 days in a row now. Really recommend giving the place a chance!

Amazing experience to visit the track, only one week before the big circus will be coming. The security personell were super friendly and welcoming, they let us explore a bit and gave us a short look 'behind the scenes".

It was awesome adventure! It is a bit difficult to reach there without own transport but it was quite a gray experience. The staff were all super friendly and nice. The whole activity takes about 30 minutes only. The flights between the valley is incredible with the stunning views of the far far mountains! I totally recommend it for someone look for a great adventure!

It was an amazing adventure! Very secure and the staff speaks a decent English. We found a car park easily but there are not many parking spots available! Keep it in mind and arrive a bit early if needed

Went in mid April when there was still snow covering the top of the mountains and it was great fun!
Experience:
Friendly staff, hassle free. We checked in, filled in some details, got kitted up just before you ‘fly’ and we were away.
Double/joint flight:
Slightly cheaper than two singles and good laugh for couples/friends or family.
There’s a 180kg limit and they weigh you just before your first flight. One top one bottom flyer, you can’t swap as it’s different kit.
I’d recommend the top being the slightly taller just so you get more visibility of the mountainside over the other person.
You do two flights, one down slightly less fast, then get a minibus in a small group to your second flight and you end where you started!
Whole thing takes about 30 minutes
Travel: We drove up, there’s free but limited parking right by the office, it’s not far from Lake Como (it took us under 2hrs and we were in Lezzeno).
(Picture is of the village/mountain valley the zip line is in)

Such an amazing experience... The staff was very professional and friendly! It was quite cheap for what it was, so if you re in the lake como region, this is a must visit!

Absolutely fabulous. Thought it would be scary, but it's not. I couldn't stop laughing all the way down. And you get to come back to the start point from the other side of the valley. Bellisimo 😁😁😁
Peter Summersgill — Google review
This was a lot of fun! It’s such a long zip-line, that during the flight you have plenty time to look around and you’ll feel like a bird flying between the mountains. The staff at this place is friendly, professional and most speak good English. I recommend you ask for safety glasses if you don’t wear your own (sun)glasses or have contact lenses, this to prevent your eyes from tearing up and maybe loosing your lenses ;) also makes it easier to look around you.

Two hours of waiting and being told that we could start in 20 minutes over and over so that we couldn't do anything else in the meantime. They could have easily called us beforehand, too because they knew they had a delay since the morning hours. No price reduction. A free foto was the least they could do. The flight was great though, but not that exciting. Do it for the view, not the kick.

The Villa Carlotta museum houses one of the most renowned gardens in Italy. The garden was designed by Gian Battista Sommariva and is a reflection of reason surrounded by its more romantic counterpart, the flashy theater of the following century. The art collection inside the museum is renowned for its many works by famous artists such as Canova, David, and Throvaldsen.
Fantastic villa on the shore of Lake Como with stunning views across the lake from both the museum and the garden. This Villa contains superb gardens and an excellent museum of the villa itself. The museum is large with lots of room to move around. It also has lots of different rooms, art, artifacts and antiques to see but my favourite part was walking around the very large garden.
Well worth a visit

Brilliant place to visit. They have two routes around the lovely gardens, one not so steep, and one fairly steep. But it was worth it for the views of Lake Como. They have a reasonable cafe, inside and out, with again lovely views. The villa(the museum) was ok

Absolutely stunning! As a local even I was impressed by its absolutely beautiful gardens and the villa. The view is incredible and I have already been here several times and will always come back. It’s a 10/10 for me.

One of the best gardens I have ever visited! So beautiful and diverse!
Try going in the morning so you have more time exploring as the garden is pretty big. It also has picnic spots so it’s a great place to spend a day on when visiting lake como. Has fantastic lake views, the villa itself is gorgeous, but the garden is a botanical one with many cool plants. Has a bamboo jungle which is magical.
There’s free parking down the villa & there are elevators to take you up in the garden & upper floors of the villa, right outside of the villa in the south.
Absolutely recommend a visit, so worth the price (15€ adults)

One of the biggest and also most beautiful villas in the Lake Como area, with audio guides available and 2 suggested itineraries depending on whether you want a short walk around or a longer stroll in the garden.
Definitely worth the visit, for all ages. It was also made wheelchair-accessible by the gentle slopes and lifts.
Parking available along the road, both free and paid lots.

Beautiful Villa, beautiful gardens and a lovely walk on a perfect spring day. The cafe and toilets were open. I would recommend 2-3 hours for a leisure walk around the gardens before finishing at the museum (which ends in the villa and gift shop). We parked 400mtrs before reaching the villa in a paid parking place which we were lucky to get some space in. There are some decent restaurants and places to eat walking distance from the villa. There is a ferry stop across the villa and that takes you to Bellagio (another beautiful place which is a must visit).

We loved this place! The garden was amazing with different species from all over the world. So cool that they are able to thrive in Italy due to the microclimates around Lake Como. The villa had beautiful views of the lake and offered many opportunities for great photos. The café inside had a decent selection of food and drinks, although slightly overpriced.

Love it and hate it:) it was a great walk, very nice and scenic. Very poorly marked trying to exit. You need to really read the map as there is only one exit sign, and it's not at the exit. It is very confusing for most of the people there. Plan on about 4 hrs if you want to do the whole thing. There are signs that say 75 minutes for the full walk, maybe, probably not. Add an extra 30 minutes to find the exit. Think only 3 people work there, so you are on your own. Overall, it's a really great place with poor sinage.

Gorgeous house and gardens to visit. Lovely artefacts in the museum and sculptures.
The gardens are set in wonderful grounds, lots of it are not accessible for wheelchair users as it is very up and down.
Wonderful plants and flowers carefully set out with a waterfall running down the hillside. Great views from all angles and photo opportunities.
We visited on a very rainy day but this never spoilt our enjoyment.
Would recommend a half day visit. It has toilets and a coffee shop.

Beautiful villa with huge well kept garden. It has some old furniture dating back to the old times but also a collection of cutlery and crockery which don’t relate to the families who once lived there. In that respect villa Necchi in Milan is far more interesting. If you visit in the afternoon the sun has turned and you can take beautiful pictures from the balcony of the lake scenery.

Incredible villa. Is beautiful.
My partner and I went without a ticket and after less than 5 minutes in line, we entered. The garden is the most beautiful thing I saw. Very spacious, it takes 1 hour to explore it. Then the museum is also very good to know how those owners lived from centuries ago.

A memorable visit with stunning & immaculate gardens, and very well-signposted walking routes throughout the property with different options of different lengths. The house itself was impressive, but the gardens and views of the lake are the reason to visit. Would strongly recommend to anyone in the area!

Beautiful house surrounded by gardens that seem to go on forever. Lovely, well laid out walks, that go from manicured to wild, but always jaw dropping in their beauty. Would love to visit again.

Villa Carlotta is such a beautiful and peaceful place. The vast garden with the numerous flowers is absolutely breathtaking and the museum (inside of the Villa) is spacious and very lightning. I thought the place was smaller and that the visit would have been shorter but you have to take at least 45 min to 1 hour for the short visit (main garden tour and museum) and 1 hour 30 min to 2 hours for the big visit with all the garden.
It is clean, not too crowdy and I believe that Spring time offers the best images with the colorful flowers and trees everywhere. Don't hesitate !
S?verine M — Google review
The grounds are nice, however not easy to walk with a child and not wheelchair or pushchair friendly.
The main floor of the house is worth a quick visit but the other floors are not. The rooms are tiny and filled with minimal artifacts and furniture.
Worth a visit if in the area but your not missing out on much if you view from the lake.
The gardens are impressive from the Napoleon era.

The botanical garden is pretty and has some beautiful views. I was expecting to see a little but more, but it was very nice. Definitely wear sneakers, as there are a lot of rocks you will be walking on. It's right next to the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, so it's a very short walk and convenient.

Despite the pouring rain during our visit to Villa Carlotta, the botanical garden's beauty was undiminished, offering a peaceful walk along the 75-minute trail, ending with the museum. The garden was the definite highlight, overshadowing the less impressive museum.

Villa Carlotta Gardens in Lake Como, Italy, is an absolute gem. The lush botanical paradise captivated me with its exquisite beauty. Strolling through the meticulously maintained gardens, I was surrounded by a stunning array of plants, flowers, and ancient trees. The view of Lake Como from the villa's terraces is simply breathtaking, providing a serene backdrop for a leisurely visit.
The historical significance of Villa Carlotta, with its art collection and charming villa, adds depth to the experience. I was particularly moved by the art and sculptures on display, which offered a glimpse into the rich history of this place.
Also nice: doga were allowed to enter the gardens for a nice family walk. The longest red route is about 1 hour.

Villa Carlotta is a lovely botanical garden with so many different varieties of plants. There is such diversity in the fauna and flora growing here. For example, they have a rhododendron section, a succulent and cactus garden, a fern garden, and so many others. The layout of this garden has been planned by a mastermind., and many walking past throughout the garden. The villa itself has beautiful architecture and art inside. A lovely little oasis right on the waterfront and very close to the water ferry drop off.
The Villa del Balbianello is a grand 18th century villa which has been used by filmmakers including James Bond and Star Wars. The gardens are quite beautiful and are popular among tourists.
What an experience!!!
My husband had been wanting to visit for a long time due to his love of movies in particular Star Wars & 007.
We visited the locations where the movies were filmed and wandered around the whole surroundings.
Villa del Balbianello is breathtaking, do yourself a favour and go!
Side note: We caught the private water taxi here and that helped capture some of these gorgeous shots due to the better access spot for drop off.

Charming Villa on top of a small hill which enjoys marvellous views of lake Como. The trees, the plants, the flowers, the rockery, the variety of natural landscapes and man-made pathways is simply amazing. Fascinating history of the place, full of twists and turns until the last owner died and donated it to a National Trust. The architecture blends in beautifully with the complexity of the natural landscape surrounding the villa. Almost a fairytale place, unsurprisingly used as a cinema set for some very famous movies. Not to be missed!

Amazing villa to visit which was one of our highlights during our stay in Lake Como. Be prepared for a 20 minute walk uphill or alternatively you can get a boat to take you around to the other entrance. Highly recommend attending early so it is quiet for you to walk around the gardens. Also the guided tour of the interior was really good and insightful, highly recommend doing that as well.

Beautiful place! Went round the gardens as hadn't pre-booked a tour inside. If you struggle walking definitely choose the shorter 20-minute route through the park to the entrance as the longer 40-minute route if very steep and rough terrain. Bus C10 takes you pretty close to the park. As a Star Wars fan this was so worth a visit for the famous arch and balcony. The views are incredible too. Would recommend if in Lake Como.

Beautiful estate, try to come here when the temperatures are in the 60-70s F°. They're is a lot of walking up and down fairly steep inclines. Access is either by a very hilly 1Km walk, or by a boat shuttle you can pay for. We walked and it took about 20 minutes.

So so glad we booked the day out here! If you have the opportunity book a guided tour as you can go inside, and it went through the history which was so interesting. The gardens are gorgeous, extremely well kept, and were very fun to explore. There's a small ice cream place within which was nice as it can get hot, but I would love to visit this again!

I only took the gardens tour. From the outside the villa looked small so i waant't disappointed. The gardens are really beautiful with nice views of surrounding towns. What a wonderful place to visit. This villa and it’s beautiful garden are one of the most beautiful places I have visited.
The tour guides are lovely, so informative about the owner, the contents and their admiration for the man who owned it. Totally fascinating story of this explorers life and his residence.

Well worth a trip to see the gardens with its views across the bays from every outlook.

One of the more interesting villas in all of Lake Como. The full guided tour was absolutely worth its price. The view was also fantastic, being surrounded by lakes at almost all its surroundings.

First of all, the walk is long and exhausting because of the hilly nature of the road.
So i recommend you to use the boat, its right in the water side walk .
You will reach in few minutes, and right at the Villa .

Parking was completely full, so we had to find another place around 5 min. from the start of the trail. Getting to the villa is quite a hike as it is very steep and takes around 15-20 min. As soon as we arrived, we were able to skip the long line as we had already prebooked. The villa and grounds are absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. Can definitely recommend this place if you want to take pictures of pretty Lake Como as well.

A beautiful villa by the lake. Two type of tickets for you to choose, one with guided tour into the villa and the other can only access the garden area. I recommend you to take a guided tour to learn more history about this villa, and you could see many antiques collected by the owner. The garden is as beautiful as you can see on pictures, and especially on sunny days, it’s also the filming place of star war and James Bond. Transportation to here from Milan is easy, just take the regional train to varenna and then the ferry.

Beautiful experience visiting the well taken care of gardens. If you walk from town be prepared to hike up hill in many spots and remember to bring water. I recommend taking the boat over for older folks. There is a book shop on site that sells water. Get tickets in advance to the gardens as it can get busy.

I think it's just an incredible place! It looks especially beautiful from the water, so be sure to try to rent a boat or take a cruise on a tourist boat. It's definitely worth it! The Villa del Balbianello has been beautifully preserved for centuries. The grounds are very well-maintained, and so are all of the buildings. It is a bit of a hike to get to it from the entrance, but just treat it as a leisurely stroll. You could easily spend a half a day on your visit.
Be sure and arrange a tour of the house or you will really miss out. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the place and the lives of the people who lived here.

This place is absolutely stunning. I went to both the garden and the villa (guided tour), and it was amazing. The villa was huge, great for taking pictures of scenery and yourself. The atmosphere gave out old money vibes, loved it. The tour guide who showed us inside the villa was really friendly and patient with us as well. The only downside was that it was a one hell of a hike before you can reach the destination ( a good workout though). Definitely worth a visit if you’re ever in Lake Como. 😎

The Bernina Express is a remarkable tourist attraction in Switzerland, boasting the highest railway in the Alps at 2253m altitude. This eight-hour scenic journey passes through breathtaking landscapes and over 196 bridges that offer stunning views of glaciers. The train is very popular, so it's recommended to book seats at least a month ahead of time, with bookings opening three months in advance. The new Stadler Trains provide exceptional comfort and quality for an even more enjoyable trip.

It would be 5 starts but the entree (chicken) wasn't very good and they spooned it out of a large terrine into your plate on a moving train, which caused sauce to get spattered on multiple guests. I'd say order from the a la carte menu that doesn't need to be planned in advance and skip the multi course meal. The train ride itself was stunningly beautiful.

If in the event it is not known, make sure you book your seat reservation way ahead of time since it is required to ride the train!!!! This review is strictly focused on the train portion of the Bernina Express, and not the bus ride. That deserves its own review.
The train begins at the central station in the city on platform #10. There is a sign for it by the stairs as you are walking towards it to let you know as well.
Once the train arrives, they have a couple of signs places by the doors to indicate which cart is which, and the inside they have their numbers for the seats by the windows. The employees are very helpful throughout the whole journey and, give you some info on the journey along the way as well. You can also sign in to their wifi, and listen to their guides in other languages too to continue with more information!
Beyond that, there is not much else that can be said other than just sit back, relax, and enjoy the sights along the way! Have a glass of wine while you're at it too!
Pro tip. Please be respectful of the other people on board, and try to keep conversations within a reasonable level, and maybe not use a selfie stick the whole time swinging it around like crazy.

A magical vacation in Switzerland. I’m happy we decided to add this to our itinerary. We spent over 7 hours of viewing bridges, tunnels, alps…
It was a bit confusing buying tickets online so we visited the station in person a day before. I’m happy we did that as we may have booked another route. Thanks to the guidance of polite staff, we were able to decide on our package.

Full disclosure: we took the regular trains, not the ones with the special cars with large, panoramic windows. The advantage we think is that it was less crowded, and one could open the windows to take better photos. Also, we could get off and back on as we wished. For example, we visited delightful Poschiavo. To each his own.

My wife and I heard many things about the Bernina Express from friends and other sources and we decided we wanted to experience it ourselves. We booked our trip a day before we were supposed to fly back home, at this point we were very tired but still wanted to check this off our bucket list and let me tell you it is definitely worth it. We started our trip from Tirano which is approximately a two hour drive from Milan and our end destination was St.Moritz. In the meantime we witnessed the beautiful landscapes that Italy and Switzerland had to offer and it was worth our time, money, and energy. On the way to Switzerland, we sat in first class and on the way back we sat second class. To be honest, I didn’t notice any big differences between the classes except for the type of quality of seats you sit in. Other than that everything else was amazing.

Purchased our reservation for two in December 2023 for our trip in March 2024. Right side of the train is definitely better in case you’re wondering, though it’s difficult to tell which side of the train is the front when you reserve your seats. Our journey began in the old town of Chur, Switzerland en route to Torino, Itsly. Outside of the train there were markers indicating the car number so be on the lookout as it is made quite clear, otherwise you may be standing in front of the wrong section. Plenty of luggage and baggage space at the front of each car and also between the seats (Swiss design and practicality on full display). Our experience began with an unpleasant tone as two European travellers attempted to steal our reserved seats and pretended like we were the wrongdoers. When asked for them to kindly move seats they asked which seats we reserved which were clearly the window seats with tickets to prove. Turns out these two had a return train (taking the same route on the same Bernina Express but in first class) so clearly they weren’t oblivious to the concept of reserved seating but that’s life.. some people try to take advantage of others in the most peculiar situations. As the journey commenced we were presented with views of the beautiful Swiss countryside. Green hills and mountains in the backdrop. Couple hours in we were in disbelief as we journeyed towards higher and higher elevation towards Grum Alp and close to a glacier town. The climate was vastly different and we entered a literal blizzard. How the trajn managed to get through this journey without a single hitch or delay left us in utter disbelief but again that’s that Swiss engineering on full display. Views were immaculate throughout the journey and the staff were also very friendly. Near the end of the trip they presented every passenger with a tin train souvenir in the shape of the Bernina Express filled with Lindt chocolate alongside a boxed herbal tea drink. Funny enough these are items you can purchase on the train worth a per passenger value of 15 francs each. Very generous! Overall we enjoyed the journey and spectacular views!

The ride over Albula and Bernina Pass is really breathtaking. For us four hours of train ride were okay, three would be perfect, but its like this. It's quite a long ride but because the nature is so beautiful, it's never getting boring. The only negative point is, that the seats are quite narrow and small. With long legs its a little difficult.

Probably the most beautiful trainride of Europe, and I traveled 100k km with trains so that must mean a lot.
Absolutely stunning and amazing views, catering on board is nice (but Swiss, expensive, prices) and all worth it.
I loved the Andermatt Pass, it's amazing to go through the snow on these hights!
