Parco Gallorose
Animal park
Outdoor Activities
Creatures from across the globe, like kangaroos & lemurs, plus a farm with cows, ponies & peacocks.
Nice park with interesting and beautiful animals. The place is fully covered with trees and has a lot of benches so it is manageable with small children as well. One minus is mosquitoes
Judit Hirschné Schubert — Google review
The park is big but not very well kept. The path was completely full of mud when we went and some bits of the park looked really run down. Entry ticket is too expensive for the quality of the experience. Still an ok option for a day when the weather is not good for the beach but we wouldn't go back.
Francesco Nannini — Google review
Cheap entrance. Some cages are small for the animals. No english signs or animal information. Alot of animals are group animals, but they only have one. Great collection of birds from all over the world
Willem van t hoff — Google review
Great park, many animals. There is a coffee bar and a restaurant for lunch.
Lora Ignatova — Google review
A very good animal park, it is recommended to spend at least 1.5-2 hours there. Good parking. Admission is 11 euros, you can also enter with a dog.
Coffee Lover — Google review
Nice little calm relaxing zoo with some amazing animals (aguti, swamp cat, capibara, serval, etc.). You meander maze-like (but well signposted) along. The whole aerea is well shaded by thick green bushes, trees and bambooish greenery. On hot days a real treat. The zoo might have seen better days, but the animals are well kept and in good shape. Their enclosures offer to the animals space and protective hiding places to retire from the visitors' all too curious glances.
Beside marsupials and mammals they have a wide range of exquisite birds from places all over the world.
Another part of the zoo is dedicated to farm life. Bovines and ovines from most continents but above all also local breeds are to be admired.
It is a pity though that all the descriptions to the animals are presented only in Italian. But then again we are not in a massive tourist center.
Another minus: some of the local exponates (beer cans, cigarette packages, etc.) on their shelves and vitrines along the tour are weirdly outdated. Others exponates such as the agricultural machinery give the tour a nice touch.
There should be more toilets, especially in the first part of the zoo. It ruins the walk if one has to sustain so long not knowing when there is finally relief.
The zoo has a restaurant. The menu is small but the food is tasty. They serve good traditional primi and secondi piatti with specialities of the region - not the usual disappointing fast food you sometimes get in recreational parcs or zoos. A lot of local people stop to have lunch here.
Good value for money.
Astrid Carigiet — Google review
This place really surprised us. Right at the entrance you find it a little bit strange as it is not built as your everyday zoo: it has a single path that you follow so you do not miss any of the sections. There is an exit point in the middle if you do not want to see the whole thing. It is very green, peaceful and flat (so it is not difficult for kids or with a stroller). There is also a small store in the middle with places to sit and a small playground for the kids. There is a section with farm animals too. Great value for money.
Marcelo Oliveira — Google review
A pleasant little shaded zoo with some unusual animals, but also some surprising ones. The animals are in very good shape and this is a nice way to spend an afternoon, even with small kids.
Daniel Schwarz Carigiet — Google review
not a very clean zoo.. i am happy to support animals however i expect some kind of care for the environment. dog excrements at the playground etc. nice to see the animals from up close tho :)
Anna-Marie Gregor — Google review
A place with a great potential, but a lot is beeing wasted.
Pros:
- a lot of animals
- around 2 to 3 hours of time to spend here
- a path to follow, you will not get lost or miss anything
- free car park nearby
- picnic area and children playground
Cons:
- cash only, cards are not accepted
- all signs and animal descriptions only in Italian, no word in English or German
- not well maintained, a lot of area to improve
- not enough toilets, especially during the first part of the walk
- a sort of museum with some items, totally not connected with topic of animals ( toys, cigarettes, bottles, posters and more )

The fortress walls of Lucca are a popular location for biking and walking. The walls are twelve metres high and four kilometers long, and feature a tree-lined footpath that looks down on the city's centro storico.
My favourite part of our visit to Lucca was the Mura di Lucca. An absolutely brilliant use of the city wall by having a multipurpose recreational trail on top of the wall! Paved for walking and wheeling, the many ramps give ready access for users. The bulwarks of the wall have parks, playgrounds, and picnic areas. Several museums and the Botanical gardens are accessed from the trail. The Mura also has several gates as well as pedestrian tunnels.
Stunning views of the hills surrounding Lucca.
Worth a saunter!
Jamie O'Donnell — Google review
The fortress has a park on the top - all the way around town - truly peaceful and stunning! I feel in love with this town, be sure to visit and walk the city inside the fortress
Las Vegas Jules — Google review
Take a walk, a 5k run, or a bikeride along the wall and enjoy historic Lucca and its surroundings. Traversing the Mura di Lucca is a nice way to begin or end your day. Their is public parking around the wall (for a fee).

One of our favorite cities in Italy!
The walls is a must, either walk it, run or bike or nap it 👌🏼❤️
My personal recommendation is you rent a bike for an hour, go around the walls, return the bike and continue exploring the town by foot! 🙏🏼

Beautiful, historical sight with many opportunities, like cycling, running, playground spots, or just for having a nice walk. The trees will give you shade, the area is wide.

Beautiful town, a lot to see. Head wonderful walking around the wall , views amazing!
Nataliia Tutty — Google review
I loved visiting Mura di Lucca with a poli bike! You can really explore this wonderful citadel and enjoy its beauty!
Dragos Susman — Google review
You cannot come to Lucca without experiencing the walls. Whether you pass through one of the six large Ports that allow pedestrian and car traffic or one of the smaller ports that are pedestrian only, this magnificent wall is truly a sight to see. Besides being used to separate the centro from the rest of Lucca, it has walking paths on the top, restaurants, a hospitality center for those walking the via Francigena, and the original places for the soldiers that used to patrol these walls. There is a lot of history here.
In addition, there are places to picnic, playgrounds, and art installations. On warmer days there will be musicians playing and artists drawing or painting the sights around them.
Or, you can just walk along and enjoy the sights or take a bike ride down the wide avenue that allows you to walk all the way around the city in a contiguous loop.

Wonderful! An architectural masterpiece. Great for walks and bike rides. Perfect for navigating the city. Also gives you fantastic views over the cities many varied and beautiful buildings such as the famous towers and magnificent churches. An absolute must for everyone who comes to visit the beautiful city of Lucca. All in all incredibly lovely. All the gates and little tunnels should also not be forgotten. Wonderful!

Great park run .except for the heat, but then you expect it. Friendly volunteers great meeting other parkrun tourists. And enjoyed a lovely coffee ☕️ after. The last photo is the place we're we stayed only 5 minutes walk to start.
Tony Mcdevitt — Google review
We spent a couple of hours cycling around the walls of Lucca today. There are numerous bike hire places around Lucca both inside the walls and outside. We hired from Fast and Furious which is outside the walls.
The circuit is about 4km around and very flat apart from the ramps up onto the walls which aren't very steep, but you can walk the bikes up if you need to.
There are wide, tree lined paths which have people walking, jogging and cycling on them. On a weekday like today in September they were busy and it was a very relaxing way to get in some gentle exercise. Most of the cyclists are very relaxed and not whizzing around aggressively.

Another beautiful walled town but rather overrun with high end stores down every side street. The piazza has lovely shady trees covering it with musicians playing. Lovely restaurants on the perimeter. Enjoy a walk on the town wall

In my opinion, this is the best place in Lucca to walk, exercise, ride a bike or enjoy a sunny day with a clear blue sky. Very relaxing and you can spend a lot of time here. It is also a good place to watch the sunrise or sunset

Visitors to the Terrazza Mascagni in Livorno can enjoy panoramic views of the coastline and cityscape from its elevated terrace. The deck is named for Pietro Mascagni, a composer who was born in Livorno.
Beautiful! The chequered tiles give it a beautiful look and you see amazing surroundings nearby.
One can also go close to the sea and find many beautiful corals, sea grass, tiny colorful fishes and crabs. I attached photos.

Go just for a walk down and to enjoy the views(panoramic view). But far out of the town for anything else. Nothing really near by. Go but don't make it a must do list.

Very clean and bright looking promenade close to Livorno Harbour.
Andrew Vail — Google review
A lovely open air space sandwiched by the sea and the city. The warmly-coloured chequered marble floor, the tall palm trees and the grand bandstand in the centre made it an ideal place for sitting, strolling, jogging, running and cycling.
Feel a bit like the LA's Santa Monica sidewalk but without the sandy beach!!

While visiting Pisa we took the train to Livorno for the afternoon. A bus from the station brought us to the Terrazza Mascagni. It is a lovely walk along chequered tiles surrounded by a waist high wall, which gave beautiful views over the Ligurian sea. There are benches where you can sit and rest / enjoy the views. While there was a cafe nearby the restaurants were all closed by 2.30 / 3pm so make sure you eat before you visit. I would also recommend when buying bus tickets that you buy return tickets as well as it is difficult to find anywhere that sells them.

This area (contrary to other reviews) is NOT well maintained at all.
Haven’t been here for a few years, but it looks like material choice was wrong for the balustrades… appears that saltwater has soaked into the concrete and corroded the reinforcing bars - shattering many of the top stones.
Now looks a real mess… 🤦♂️
Give this a miss - just not worth the walk from town, unless using one of the private beach front facilities nearby.
Wayne Miller — Google review
The views of the city from here are amazing. Plus it's a Great place to park and walk into the city from, which we did. Parking fees were reasonable. They also have a bus stop there as well. It can get very busy so be aware of that. We came just after a rain storm and found parking easily, but when we returned after our visit it was very crowded. Wonderful place either way!
Nick pinnetti — Google review
Beautiful view and smell of Mediterranean Sea. It was a nice walk and paid park lot was right next to the aquarium.
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a tower that leans off of the vertical, due to weak subsoil. The tower was built in 1372 and has been tilting ever since. It is a popular tourist destination, and included in our 10-day Northern Italy tour led by local insider. The climb is hard, but the view from the top is simply superb.
Beautiful place, everything is close to the next attraction. Of course, a lot of people trying to take the typical picture, but you can manage to get good shots away from others. Nice coffee shops to have a snack or an amazing ice cream. Remember to buy tickets in advance, all attractions have different times and there are some restrictions in regards to age (do your research).
Adriana Pinzon-Malaver — Google review
Better than I remember from 1983 and better than expected up the tower. A bit pricey at €20 but they have you over a barrel if you want to do it. Great staff and supervision. Great views on a good day and interesting seeing the bells at the top of the tower. Hard to believe it's nearly 1000 years old
Andrew Vail — Google review
Worth seeing but not what I expected which really was my fault.
First arriving and parking: the parking lots are located about 1.5 kilometers away from the square taking about 20 minutes walk. It was HOT when we were there. We should have considered more heat precautions.
Shops: so many shops peddling tourists goods of all shapes and sizes. Purses, shirts, pins, etcetera. Very few are worth while and had I known there was a proper gift shop I would have waited for it. It's located inside near the tower.
Site: make sure to walk around and take in the structures from all the given angles. Tickets for the climb to the top of tower are worth it. There is also a small fountain on the corner inside where you can get some refreshing water from a small phallic out cropping. Also worth seeing.
Eric Jacobson — Google review
The famous tower. It's worth climbing to the top but you have to book ahead. The official website takes bookings up to 20 days before your visit. You take an allocated slot.
The climb is not too arduous and you can pause along the way.
You get some great views of the area, although Pisa is not as pretty as other towns.

We recently had the privilege of visiting the iconic Learning Tower of Pisa, and I must say, it exceeded every expectation I had. This architectural masterpiece truly lives up to its reputation as one of the world's most renowned landmarks.
The interior of the Learning Tower of Pisa is equally impressive. As I ascended the spiral staircase, the sense of history and wonder deepened with every step. The views from the top are nothing short of breathtaking. The panoramic vistas of the surrounding cityscape are amazing and offer a unique perspective on Pisa's rich heritage.
What truly stood out to us was the genuine warmth and friendliness of the staff. Their enthusiasm for sharing the tower's history and significance added an extra layer of enjoyment to my visit. It's evident that they take great pride in preserving this cultural treasure and in making every visitor's experience unforgettable.

I have to say... I was more impressed with the experience here than I was anticipating. We visited as part of a tour through a cruise and figured we would be here and gone quickly. The grounds were gorgeous and the tower was beautiful. It was a very busy day but people were polite and courteous to others trying to get their fun shots with the tower. Very cool experience!
Michelle S — Google review
Beautiful tower. We couldn't make it on top, there were no available time slots for it, so definitely recommending to buy tickets in advance online. But from outside it looks amazing as well. It's funny to observe people doing crazy poses while making pictures 😅👍🏼 but we all did it, right? 😅
Yuliya Myan — Google review
Pisa itself as a city is very beautiful and gives a very good vibe. It is filled with young people as it is a student city. Piazza del Duomo is great to stay and to visit everything it has as it is included in one ticket that is worth the price (at the time i bought it for 10 euros not including leaning tower climb) and this ticked is valid for one year. Leaning tower is cherry on top. To be honest it is greater when you see it live than what photos show. To me this city has been out of expectations, very beautiful.
Najada Ferhati — Google review
We visited as part of a cruise we were doing, and our cruise docked late so we ended up walking most of the way. It was well worth it though. We were able to meet up with our tour group and walk up to the top of the tower. Some of the steps up the tower have been worn down over the years so they can be a slippery, so be careful. The grounds that the tower sits on is well kept and there are various shops and restaurants in the area as well. We didn’t have any kids with us, but I would imagine small kids would have a hard time climbing all the stairs.
Balakay Smith — Google review
What an amazing site!!!!
First, I saw it very quickly when I was in the train. Then when I went out from the train and was heading to the site, I saw the top of the tower! What a feeling!! Just amazing!
It’s among the most impressive things I ever seen in my life!
All people go there to visit the tower but you should absolutely visit the whole site: the cathedral, the museum etc… because each one of them is a must see site.
I loved this place and would definitely come back during my next visit to Tuscany.
Ghassan Yammine — Google review
Very touristy but still very pretty. Worth a view if you're in Pisa. There are still plenty of places to get a photo and the other buildings are also very pretty. All round good visit. Didn't go inside but there's something about free entry to the cathedral, couldn't work it out.
Joshua Lacy — Google review
It's a beautiful spot to see and take pictures. Located in the middle of the town, the route leads you through romantic and picturesque alleys and street. It's definitely worth a stop-over break if you pass nearby. I enjoyed seeing the tower and eating lovely food, but I wouldn't arrive here as my only holiday destination place. It's also amazingly crowded in the summer season. Heat was unbelievable 🔥, remember to take plenty of water 💧 Other places you could have seen before for free are at the charge in 2023- museum or Gardens

Fantastic historical monument!
The complex includes Tower, Piazza del Duomo and Cathedral di Pisa.
There was a parking close to complex with good price, although when leaving, there was issue with gate and not charged :)) There is a bazar in front and inside.
To go inside the tower, need to have a ticket for 20 euro which usually comes with 1-hour wait. Ticket for the rest of the facility, will come with 7 bucks more, all for 27. I would suggest get the ticket for whole, and once you see the Piazza and cathedral, it will be your turn to get into the leaning tower. I liked to small Halal restaurant in front of the area.
Overall, it will be a great experience to spend 2 – 3 hours over there.
Nima M. — Google review
What an amazing building to see when coming to Italy. It’s amazing how it’s leaning and hasn’t moved a lot during these past centuries. I really enjoyed being here and I would definitely recommend you to come. One thing to note is that when doing your famous leaning tower pose, there will be a lot of people walking in front of you. So just be weary of that

Arriving at the Leaning Tower of Pisa in the evening heightened the enchantment of this iconic landmark. The warm hues of the setting sun cast a golden glow on the marble facade, enhancing its timeless beauty. Despite the late hour, the surrounding Square of Miracles was still alive with a vibrant energy.
We explored the base of the tower, marveling at its architectural peculiarity and the intricate details of the nearby Cathedral and Baptistery. The diminishing daylight didn't obscure the elegance of Pisa's historic ensemble.
As twilight descended, the Leaning Tower illuminated, creating a captivating silhouette against the night sky. The subdued lighting added a touch of mystery to the surroundings. The square, adorned with medieval architecture, exuded a quiet charm, making our evening visit a magical experience that showcased Pisa's beauty even under the enchanting cloak of dusk.

Wow... this miracle of architectural is even more impressive when seen live. I recommend buying a combined ticket for all attractions in Piazza del Duomo, because each place is truly magical! The price is 27€ and it is best to book it in online. The tower is a magnificent building, it looks majestic from the outside, but inside it is empty, there are only stairs leading up. An amazing structure where from the first step on the tower I feel how tilted it is.
Michał Kiełczyński — Google review
If you get the chance then you must go to an amazing building. It's quite mesmerizing as you look at it. It's not too busy but not too sure how busy it will be in the summer. We went over Easter break. One for the bucket list ticked off.

Picturesque place from Florescence and a must see tower that’s leaning with time. Please buy tickets in advance they are particular about having. Only a few folks go up to the tower. Bags aren’t allowed. They have a good locker room free of charge.
Ankur Kulshreshtha — Google review
Absolutely amazing place. Love seeing the whole area in its historical beauty. The tower itself is smaller than I imagined but just fantastic. 294 steps to the top and you can walk around most of the upper level. The views make it well worth a visit. You can purchase a ticket for all buildings at 27 euros each or just the tower at 20 euros pp. There is a free locker room for you to put all bags into as you can't take any bags up the tower. There is a free car park about 10 mins walk away or a bus from same car park. The walk is lovely and not bad at all and all sign posted very well.
Deborah F — Google review
I recommend getting there early in the morning, it's really peaceful and there aren't many people around. Buying tickets in advance is also recommended, you will then have to leave your stuff at the wardrobe and then line up to enter. The entrance is divided in groups, your group will have a precise hour at which you will enter, so you have to come at least 15 minutes before. Green pass is needed to access the tower. The steps are a bit worn-out, so you should wear comfortable shoes. The view is amazing, you can really see all the city from up there, you might feel a bit of seasickness because of the inclination
Irene Carrillo — Google review
Amazing climbing the steps of the leaning tower. When climbing the steps, you clearly feel a tilt. The climb is quite long. Please be careful when you go up the main stairs there is another smaller set. Which leads to the top. Many people don't notice the passage and it's worth it . The view from the top is simply breathtaking. An absolute must climb if anyone visits Pisa.

We stopped here on our way to Rome. And it's exactly that: a nice and quick stop on your way to another destination. We spent an hour here to walk around and take some pictures.
It's a beautiful and funny sight to see
There is a big amount of people, but still very doable to take pictures.
Joy Wansleeben — Google review
Exactly what you expect it to be from what all you've read or seen about it. Did not enter as we hadn't booked tickets in advance but still pretty good from the outside. We had visited in June and it was super hot though so make sure to have plenty of water and something to protect you from the Sun.

Beautiful leaning tower, if you want to climb I'd suggest booking ahead. As gets very busy. Was full on a weekday but still space to take photos and enjoy the beauty and the tower defying gravity.

One of those moments when you actually come across this and see it with your own eyes that you marvel at the beauty of this structure.
Very fortunate to book tickets to walk the stairs to the top, which is absolutely worth the time and money.
You can feel the lean as you walk up and then the view from the top is just amazing.
Dan Duncan — Google review
This totally met my expectations! A really fascinating and beautiful piece of architecture. I’d recommend buying tickets in advance to climb up although some tickets were available on the day I went (mid October and not high season). The majority of the steps are fine to climb although the very last section is a little worn and the tilting can make you feel a little ‘wobbly’
The views are great and is highly recommend it

The Leaning Tower looks really pristine from the outside and is well looked after. Approx 250 steps to the top and spectacular views. Not too crowded as they have bookings for 15 min slots - it’s well managed. We went in November but I can imagine it being super hot in the summer against the marble.
Nishat RIAz — Google review
We visited the tower on a rainy day. The tower still stands tall. It is amazing. The place is crowded. It is a must see and worth all the effort traveling from Rome to see the tower.
The town is small, nothing much to see beside the tower itself. Highly recommend to buy the ticket in advance or come as early as possible. The line gets very long in the afternoon.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is an iconic marvel that truly lives up to its reputation. The architecture is breathtaking, and the slight tilt adds a unique charm. The surrounding square is lively, providing a great atmosphere for visitors. It's a must-visit destination, offering history, beauty, and a bit of fun trying to capture that perfect perspective photo. Highly recommended!
Just to be aware, one of the site in square are tombs you will be walking on.

We have always wanted to visit here and it was even more incredible than we could have imagined!
The tower really is a building marvel and is so cool that you can climb up to the top by staircase and see from up there.
Buy tickets prior to not miss out and go early in the morning to avoid all the tour buses arriving around 9am.
We got there at 8am and it was quiet but by 10am when we left, the parking had a 30+ car queue to get in.
Great hour to explore on our roadtrip 🙌

This is a breathtaking place that I'd always wanted to visit and it did not disappoint. It was very disconcerting walking up the tower and falling over as it lent to one side of course. Even when you come out you're a bit disconcerted because you can't stand up straight! The cathedral and the baptistery were both wonderful as well. We had beautiful weather and to crown off a perfect day, the museum, full of statues and ancient relics, was a site to behold. There are wonderful cheap cafés nearby for excellent refreshments as well. My one piece of advice would be to buy a ticket for all the sites before getting there.

We’ve all seen this place on the TV, in the magazines and on the internet but to see it in real life is pretty special.
For those who want photos with nobody in the background, get there early. For those who just want to see it and take it all in, anytime of the day is great.
Very clean and leans a lot more than you imagine.

Iconic reason to visit Pisa and is totally worth the time. Climbing the tower is something you will never forget. Walking around the grounds and watching all the tourists pose for goofy pictures with the tower is actually kind of fun as well.
Plan to buy the combo ticket and spend the whole day. The church, crypts, and museum are all worth the time it takes to visit them.
Try to visit the baptistry on the hour or half hour mark when a security guard will amaze you with the acoustics by harmonizing with his echo. Truly magical display of sound.

Such a beautiful landmark, exceeded my expectations. We bought tickets to go up the top which we enjoyed, it was a strange experience walking up something leaning at such an angle. Definitely worth a visit if you can in your lifetime
Sarah Brown — Google review
Its quite the impressive structure. You can view it from the outside at any time but you will need a ticket if you want to climb the inside. The tickets are time gated and limited, so I would recommend purchasing them in advance if you want to go inside.
Evan Friscia — Google review
Yes, it's very tilted. Different when you see it on the spot. I don't recommend buying tickets in advance because there are specifics that will be explained on the spot much better and the flow of people is quite smooth. Now, april 2024, the ticket is 20€ tower, 7€ all else, 27€ combined (recommended). Have at least 2 hours spare time, 4 if you're slow. You need to leave your bag in storage so rather go without any kind of bags. You must also collect them immediately after. Normal rules apply for the other spaces - you must be covered to enter. You can get here easily from Bologna and Florence by bus. Have someone with you to make the "holding" picture. There is a toilet in the museum (southern building). Ticket office is one, you can't buy tickets on the line for the locations. What shocked me most is - the tower is empty. Well, that's about it... Don't forget to have fun.

Spent a delightful afternoon marveling at the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa! 🇮🇹 Despite my short visit of just 3.5 hours, I couldn't resist capturing the charm of this architectural wonder. The intricate details of the tower and the bustling atmosphere of Pisa's historic center made for an unforgettable experience. Can't wait to return and explore more of this beautiful city!

Beautiful if you can catch it in the early morning. If you just want to see the outside, that is the perfect time to go. There's no one there and you can see the tourist shops opening up their tents.
The Piazza del Duomo is a grand and picturesque plaza in the heart of Florence, Italy. It's home to the leaning tower and the cathedral of Santa Maria, both well-known tourist attractions. The square is also popular for picnicking, and its tranquil atmosphere makes it a great place to relax after a day of touring.
It was really awesome experience and great 😊 atmosphere to visit Piazza del Duomo in Pisa, Italy 🇮🇹 absolutely stunning 🤩 beautiful church unique architecture and architecture design!
I would recommend this place to everyone who will visit Pisa, Italy 🇮🇹 and a special for professional photographer, when is sunset is very interesting 🤨

Very nice plaza. First time here and it was absolutely amazing experience. Most of this place it was built between 12 and 16 century, and how still standing, they way still looks its awesome. The whole plaza is something else you need to experience. The Cathedral sculpture inside and out are amazing, incredible designs in every angle. The tower very nice, also the rest of the buildings in this plaza are very good and deserves more than five stars.

Amazing and surreal place to visit. If you are only there for couple of hours and want to go into leaning tower book the tickets in advance. Definitely a place to visit

Wonderful tourist attraction! We loved this place - visiting the leaning tower and the other structures.
Going to the top of the tower was the highlight, but make sure you buy ahead of time, because it can sell out! Also, we got the bundle deal to include the various other structures entries, and though it was a good deal.

It is sort of special. There's this overwhelming feeling when you enter the Piazza and see the tower in real life. Or maybe it's just me. A parking area is conveniently situated nearby. I recommend buying tickets online if you plan to climb the tower or enter the Duomo.

A pretty cool place to visit. The interior of the cathedral is absolutely incredible! We spent hours in there admiring the windows, painting and sculptures. The Baptistery is also interesting. I could not go inside the Tower as I can’t climb stairs, but it was wonderful to see it with my own eyes.

While wandering around Italy, my family and I also visited the Square of Miracles, officially known as the Cathedral Square, twice. The square is known as the center of European medieval art and is one of the most beautiful architectural spaces in Europe and the world.

The share of miracles was interesting, I was there for Easter weekend and the entrance to the church was free.
Plenty of police presence but lots of tent vendors and people chasing you trying to sell something. Though it didn’t feel sure pressured, it was just annoying.

Great historical place. The tower looks spectacular and it’s history is amazing. Lots of market stalls and shops. Plus a variety of restaurants. As it is a quite touristy place you also expect higher prices. Still, some places provide very good ratio on price and quality. Parking facilities very close and easy to get to.

Highlight of the trip. Beautiful structures. Didn't know that there were two other beautiful structures in addition to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Wish I had enough time to explore all 3 structures. Definitely a must revisit location.

In this square, there's the world-famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. The way it's built is quite fascinating. Almost everyone who comes here wants to take a picture while pretending to hold up the leaning tower with their hands. It's a fun and popular thing to do!

I visited Piazza del Duomo on a sunny day in August. The square was crowded with people, but I was able to find a spot to stand and take in the amazing sight of the Leaning Tower. I was in awe of its size and beauty, and I couldn't help but smile as I took pictures and imagined what it would be like to climb to the top.
After admiring the Leaning Tower for a while, I wandered around the square and took a closer look at the other buildings. The Cathedral is a beautiful example of Romanesque architecture, and I was impressed by the intricate detail of the sculptures on the facade. The Baptistery is also a stunning building, and I enjoyed walking around the interior and admiring the white marble columns.
I spent a few hours exploring Piazza del Duomo, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. It is a truly unique and special place, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Pisa.
* I was expecting a lot from this place and it totally amused me.
* As usual, people from different countries were visiting this piece of art and the atmosphere was cheerful even on this scorching heat. Everyone were giving their best pose possible 😉
* In the square apart from the tower their are other important buildings, such as visiting the Cathedral or the Baptistery.
* Fun fact, did you know that the Leaning Tower is actually sinking? So, happy to visit this terminal tower. I hope w tge humanity will find some solution for this problem 🤗
I hope this helps!

Visiting Piazza del Duomo on Christmas Day 2023 was a magical experience. The festive atmosphere, combined with the stunning architecture of the Duomo, Baptistry, and Campanile, created a truly enchanting setting. The square was adorned with holiday decorations, enhancing the joyous spirit of the season. The impressive structures, including the iconic Florence Cathedral, were beautifully illuminated, making it a memorable and picturesque scene. Exploring the Piazza del Duomo during Christmas added an extra layer of warmth and wonder to this already magnificent historical site. A modern and eye catching high speed train station with two platforms and two middle tracks for nonstop trains. Below the platforms, you’ll find a cafeteria, the Italo and Freccia Rossa waiting areas where you can buy train tickets or just await the arrival of your train, especially since there aren’t many seats on the platform itself. The station overall feels safe due to the presence of police officers with an office present close to the cafeteria. The place is kept very clean. You’ll find both a bus terminal and a regional train station, not the forget taxi services awaiting for you downstairs.

The cathedral of Parma is a beautiful example of Romanesque architecture and its cupola is covered in stunning frescoes by Correggio. The interior is flanked by two lions sculpted by Giambono da Bissono in 1281, a masterpiece that lovers of Italian art should not miss when visiting the city.
A sacred place, rich in history, art and curiosities. You can admire art of different historical periods: from the two famous lions at the entrance (by Bissone), to the beautiful carved door, to the bas-reliefs by Antelami, to the wonderful paintings by Correggio. Highly recommend this nice peace of history!

Holy moly, didn't expect to find something this cool inside a building that looks less impressive relative to other places in Italy. Some parts are not as restored, which is cool as it looks more genuine and real. It has many features like the 3D-look in the ceiling similar to the Vatican. It also has some parts that are leaning as the foundation must be degrading slowly, it's quite cool!

This 11th century cathedral has a unique charm to it. The walls are painted with scenes from the bible. I loved the drawings, and I can say it was one of the most beautiful cathedral I have visited. In the 4th photo you can see cupola painted with 16th century fresco "The Assumption of virgin" by Correggio (it took him 8 years to finish the painting). And the entrance is free.

Vernazza is a village located on the rugged Ligurian coast of northwest Italy, and it forms one of the Cinque Terre. The settlement's small marina is surrounded by colorful houses, and it has a church with an elegant cupola-topped bell tower. Doria Castle, a medieval defensive structure with a cylindrical tower, clings to the rocks overlooking the ocean. Just below this castle lies Belforte bastion.
The Sentiero Monterosso-Vernazza is a picturesque hiking trail that connects the scenic Cinque Terre with breathtaking ocean views and lush landscapes. The next stop on this trail is an easily accessible lookout point, situated on a small cliff overlooking Vernazza beach. This spot can be reached via the head trail of Vernazza's Sentiero Azzurro, which runs south of the town and past an old watchtower.
Incredible but very difficult even if you are considerably fit. It took me around 2 hours with multiple breaks along the way and I wasn’t even very prepared.
Choose the right timing, I hiked up at 2PM in July so it was technically a suicide attempt.
The views are insane and far better than expected.

A path with very nice views but physically demanding. Many and very steep stairs and sometimes slippery. I would recommend this sentiero only to people that are used to challenging walks and wear good shoes. It‘ quite exposed to sun, so you might want to take enough to drink with you. Path gets quite crowded from april on!

The Monterosso Vernazza Panoramic Trail offers breathtaking views of the Italian coastline, but unfortunately, it falls short in several aspects. While the trail presents natural beauty, there are some significant issues that need to be addressed for a safer and more enjoyable experience.
One of the main concerns is the poor maintenance of the trail. The lack of upkeep is evident, with sections of the path showing signs of neglect. Overgrown vegetation and uneven surfaces can make the trek challenging and potentially hazardous for visitors. A more consistent and attentive maintenance plan should be implemented to ensure the safety of hikers.
Furthermore, access to the trail is allowed without proper checks for appropriate equipment. It is crucial to enforce regulations and recommend suitable gear, such as hiking boots and water supplies, to all visitors. By doing so, the authorities can promote a culture of safety and preparedness among hikers.
Another issue lies in the presence of unprotected dangerous spots along the trail. These areas should be identified and appropriately secured with barriers or guardrails to prevent accidents. Safety measures like these are crucial, especially considering the narrow width of the path. At times, hikers need to pause to allow others to pass by, leading to unnecessary delays and congestion. Implementing a one-way alternating system could effectively alleviate these waiting times and enhance the flow of foot traffic.
The pricing of the trail is also a point of contention. Given the current cost, the expectations for maintenance and safety precautions are high. Visitors rightly demand impeccable maintenance and adequate protection for dangerous areas when paying a premium. Alternatively, some argue that the trail should be free of charge, as this would encourage more people to experience its beauty without financial barriers.
Additionally, the signage along the trail is insufficient and often unclear. Clear and comprehensive signposting is essential for visitors to navigate the path with ease and confidence. By improving the signage, hikers can enjoy a more seamless experience and avoid potential detours or confusion.
In conclusion, while the Monterosso Vernazza Panoramic Trail offers stunning views, it is marred by various shortcomings. The trail suffers from poor maintenance, lacks proper safety measures, experiences congestion, and falls short in terms of signage. It is imperative that the authorities address these issues promptly. By implementing a robust maintenance plan, enhancing safety measures, improving signage, and considering a one-way alternating system, the trail can provide a safer and more enjoyable experience for all visitors.

This trail connects the villages of Monterosso al Mare and Vernazza. It is approximately 3.5 km long and the hike is considered moderately challenging due to its steep sections and uneven terrain. It typically takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete, depending on your pace and the number of stops you make along the way.
The view of Vernazza from this trail is one of the highlights of the hike. As you approach Vernazza from the trail, you will be treated to an incredible panoramic view of the village nestled along the coastline.
Vernazza is known for its colorful houses that cascade down the hillside toward the sea. The buildings are painted in pastel shades of yellow, pink, and orange, creating a picturesque scene against the backdrop of the sea.
The village's charming harbor is framed by the small natural bay and a breakwater. You'll see fishing boats docked in the harbor, adding to the village's coastal charm. The vibrant blue of the Mediterranean Sea contrasts beautifully with the colorful village and the green hillsides. The sea's clear, azure waters make the view even more striking.
The view of Vernazza includes the historic Doria Castle, perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the village and the sea. The Church of Santa Margherita d'Antiochia, with its distinct bell tower, is another landmark visible from the trail. Surrounding Vernazza are terraced hillsides with vineyards and olive groves.
Y. T. Nixon Tan — Google review
Very crowded in off-season, it costs 7.5 euro/ person. It is a 3,5km km waiting line from Monterosso to Vernaza both ways. You get a nice view at the end but that you can get also if you go by train. Can't imagine how much worse it is in full season.
Bogdan Androne — Google review
They said it’s closed…it’s not. Beautiful hike. I recommend going from Monterosso to Vernazza. You get the staircases out of the way and enjoy a nice view on the way down to Vernazza. 1.5 hours total and we went slow. Bring water.

A very picturesque path, along gardens with crops, vineyards, old gardens. Definitely less demanding than the route from Riomaggiore to Manarola, more flat sections but also has steep climbs, especially in the initial sections. walking time about 1.5 hours. a lot of stairs to overcome, the entrance from the Vernazza side seems easier but still requires good shoes and a bit of good shape. the route is paid, in my opinion it is worth spending the money, but if someone counts on a walk by the sea and still spectacular views - they will be disappointed. I was captivated by the picturesqueness of the route, vineyards, trees, orchards and the remains of old terraces where the inhabitants cultivated plants. But it is definitely not a walk by the sea
AniaZ — Google review
A great hike - even with a toddler. We have a ~1 year old who came on the hike with us in a carrier (back/front reversible), not a shoulder backpack carrier. Suggest a back-carry rather than a front carry.
We caught the train from Riomaggiore to Monterosso and then started our hike which took us about 1hr 45 min - noting we were reasonably quick even with the baby. Suggest this could take 2+ hrs for others.
The trail is narrow at some points which required waiting as was too dangerous to go 2 at a time with the baby.
Despite this people were very accommodating to allow us to pass on the inside.
Overall a great hike with some lovely views.

The path has steeper parts as you start climbing, but then it is more accessible. Can be done on rainy weather as well. Around 1.5 hours from train station to train station, but with stops for photos it will be more. Extremely beautiful!

Highly recommend this hike trail! We did it with our two girls ages 5 & 6. The views were awesome! I can see experienced hikers taking over an hour to complete but with two little people it took us almost 2.5 hrs. Recommend to pack plenty of water, good shoes (we used our running shoes), snacks and charged phone for pics. Happy hiking!
JustinMonica Blanco — Google review
This hike offers the best views of vernazza as you leave the town, and some wonderful ocean vistas but be warned this hike is very steep going up and is also very steep on the other end approaching Monterosso. There is ample sun and it with its difficulty, you will need to bring water and wear shoes for hiking. The cinque terre hiking card is also checked at the trail and is needed (7.50 for a day pass of hiking, get it at the vernazza train station). There is some maintenance that needs to be done so some areas are a bit treacherous. Very busy trail with traffic going both ways so be ready for that. Decently fit folk can complete this section in under 90min with some photo stops.
Brett Higgins — Google review
Would much recommend the walk from Monterosso to Vernazza rather than the other way around. Reason is that on the trail; the scenic beauty of Vernazza is captured from the vantage point of the trail. And Monterosso is difficult to see from the trail as it is blocked by the hills, or by the time you near Monterosso you are already too low.
Recommend starting your day early to catch the sunrise. Just remember to pay the trail fee!
Trail difficulty is not that hard. Alot of up-hill.
Wear proper shoes and bring water.
Nathaniel Teo — Google review
My friends and I did this trail back in the beginning of March 2023. we had perfect weather, sunny, not hot, not cold. The first part of the trail (starting from Monterosso) was quite a climb and it could get very narrow and difficult. The other half was much easier. We weren‘t really prepared for this type of hike, but I would suggest simply comfortable sneakers, plenty of water and maybe a sandwich with you. The views are truly breathtaking. As girls who aren‘t use to this type of activities it was doable and we had a great time.
Also even though it was sunny, you aren‘t going to be in the sun the whole time. You‘re passing through woods, so it can get very fresh as well. The path was evidently clean in our case and not too many tourists at the time.
From what I know this path is actually not free to explore, but the day we went it was „off season“ so it was free. Amazing experience.

Great hike between Monterosso to Vernazza, the views are great throughout the whole hiking trail and it seems to be quite popular of a hiking path as you will meet many people along the way. The view of Monterosso is amazing, also when you get closer to Vernazza as it opens into the beach bay and you can get a great picture with the colourful buildings in the cove.

There are several factors to keep in mind though, the heat from spring to autumn,is pretty steep while some paths are very narrow, maybe too narrow considering traffic in 2 directions which blocks you in case of larger groups. Indications are kind of ok but could be better. Also keep in mind you already need to walk up a bit before you start the real trail, so it's longer then you may think. I do agree with some of the comments that since they ask money, one could expect better maintenance, higher safety measures and indicate even more about making sure people are well equipped before they start since it's not easy to get help in case you would require. You may find 1 or 2 people selling some lemon drinks on the way but you better make sure you are least have a big bottle per person with you on the trip, especially for the very warm days and make sure you have sun protection as well, enjoy. A nice and well deserved swim will await you!

Amazing hike! Make sure you bring plenty of water and you MUST wear closed-toe-shoes. Also, they will check your ticket before letting you go through.
The views are incredible and you'll be able to see both parts of Monterroso for a while as you ascend. Then, you'll start descending and see Vernazza. Stunning village!
It's only shaded like 5% of the time, even in the afternoon so be prepared to sweat bullets.

This is an amazing experience for all of those visiting the Cinque Terre that can do it. I highly recommend this trail at least once. It offers great views, and while it is challenging, it is well worth it in the end. On the trail, it is important to take your time, as some steps and parts of the trail are more dangerous, but if you pay attention, there will be no problem. Overall, it took about 2 hours to reach Monterosso from Vernazza, with small breaks along the way and going at a good pace.
Will Carter — Google review
The hike has amazing views. In the summer try to catch train from north/west that arrives at 7:30am at Monterosso so you can do most of your hike in the shade. Steps up are similar, in my opinion, from Monterosso vs from Verazza. Either way, having good grip sole shoes is helpful though not necessary in the dry season. Many people wore regular sneakers and did fine. 1.5hr is about average for the amount of time to hike through 1 way, though if you don't stop for photos or rest, you can easily do it in under an hour. But if you've come all the way to visit, why rush it. Caveat, the towns get very crowded as the day goes on. We arrived Monterosso with empty beaches and by late morning it was crowded beyond belief.

Cremona Cathedral is a magnificent example of medieval architecture, featuring intricate sculptures and frescoes adorning its interiors. Its bell tower stands tall as a testament to the building's historical significance. The cathedral has an enchanting atmosphere and boasts stunning artwork that is sure to captivate visitors' attention. Don't miss the chance to explore its underground section for an even more profound experience of this iconic religious site.
Stunning interiors! Don’t miss out the underground of the cathedral as well

It’s a lot of steps to go up the tower but there is something to see on each floor as well as to catch your breath. It is really worth paying to see the tower which includes access to the Baptist part. But the Tower makes you really look at the clock which is far, far advanced to anything we have still and it still works in part. Plus the great views of the city at the top. The cathedral itself is a must too including the crypt and really a great respite from the heat.

Imposing and vast, much more than you might reckon for a relatively small city as Cremona. The inside is richly decorated (many reinassance artists contributed to its beautifully preserved frescoes) and the vault awe-inspiring.
The church is free to visit - the rest of the complex, for example the bell tower, is not.
Don't miss the floor mosaics in the crypt!

Tours of a privately owned castle with historic rooms & artifacts, also a venue for private events.
The location is timeless and absolutely gorgeous! The food was really really good with a great service! Absolutely delighted by the fabulous lunch that we had!
Nicolas de Sénépart — Google review
This could be a fantastic experience if only the (still living) descendants weren't so selfish and exclusive. For instance: you can't take photos inside the castle; wonder why? me too! Also, the rooms and most of the castle isn't true to its origin: it's rebuilt, not restored. Not recommended.
Vittorio Robecchi — Google review
This hotel is very nice and worked well for us since we were traveling on a motorcycle.
It rained for the few days we stayed so having the restaurant and lounge on site meant we didn't get wet trying to find a meal or a drink.
You can tour the old castle but you will need to book in advance if you need an English guide.
Tour packages start at 14 euro person and 35 euro for the English guide that lasts an hour and a half then the tours go up in price and substance after that.
If there is one thing I did find quite disappointing was for the price we paid to stay the breakfast was very limited and plain.
So if you want quaint and romantic this place is nice.
If you're on a budget but are thinking of spending some extra cash to stay here I would say search around the area then come sightseeing.

Visiting the Certosa di Pavia monastery was nothing short of a mesmerizing experience. Nestled in the Lombardy region of Italy, this monastery is a true architectural gem.
Inside, the monastery's tranquility provides a haven for introspection and spiritual rejuvenation. The impressive church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, features a harmonious blend of rich frescoes, ornate wooden choir stalls, and marble sculptures.
The cloisters, characterized by elegant arches and manicured gardens, are yet another striking feature of the Certosa di Pavia. Walking through the peaceful cloisters offers an intimate experience of monastic life, while also allowing one to appreciate the exquisite craftsmanship that adorns the walls and columns.
A visit to the Certosa di Pavia is a must for anyone interested in art, history, and spirituality. The serenity and splendor of this architectural masterpiece offer a truly unique experience that leaves a lasting impression.

The 'Certosa di Parma' is really a beautiful church located not far from Milano.
It was built from 1394 to 1497.
Because of that the building is a mix of different styles (Romanic, and Gothic), as you can see from the picks of the review.
I strongly advice to take the guided tour: it's totally free of charge (held by the monks managing the complex).
It provides many insights on the history of the church and the functions of each of the visited parts of it.

The Duomo di Milano is the largest cathedral in the world and an iconic masterpiece of Gothic architecture. It took over 600 years to complete, and its facade includes 135 spires and 3,400 statues. Inside the cathedral, the hugestained glass depictions of biblical scenes are unique and hard to miss. If you're interested in adopting a statue or have deep pockets, this is definitely a site you should visit!
Extremely beautiful, spectacular and impressive cathedral! I was truly amazed to see it from the inside. It totally worth visiting! You can purchase tickets from the building across the street on the right side. There is normal tickets or with climbing up the towers included. The waiting line wasn't that long but probably it depends on the month. I was there in February and got inside really quickly.

Highly recommend visiting the rooftop. Unlike any other climbs I have done throughout Europe in cathedral towers. This is definitely not one to miss. You are walking amongst really cool architecture. We took the stairs, manageable and not too difficult, but there is also an elevator. The elevator does book up so I recommend booking in advance if you are looking for a specific time slot. Get your ticket across from the cathedral in the museum. If you are military member (including USA military) you can get a free entrance and rooftop ticket, go to the info point not the museum to get your free ticket.

Wednesdays are a holiday some facilities may be closed.
In October 2023 there were renovations going on.
But overall a magnificent monument.
Tickets can be bought online also but there is a transaction charge , it's easy to just buy at the counter in an adjoining building.
Opening slots are across the day and it's worth checking in the timings before arriving to get the maximum out of the trip.
Doumo is the cathedral building and terraces are the access to it's rooftop which is definitely worthwhile a good view to the plaza below and seeing the structure close up.
Stairs are steep but if you don't have any major health issues it can be climbed , alternatively lifts are available.

Such an amazing place. I have not actually been in side the cathedral itself, but it looks absolutely fantastic from the outside. The architecture of it is so sophisticated and the level of detail in it is design is mind blowing. There is a gold statue on the top. I heard Italian Mafias tried to rob this gold statue by attaching it to a helicopter, but the police managed to retrieve it.
Emad Abdelhamid — Google review
What must amazed me was being walking on the top of the roof, which is not common.
The Duomo is big, the architecture of the outside is very impressive and beautiful.
The church inside, based on the other churches I have seen before, this one didn’t impressive. As any other European church, of course is beautiful and it’s big, I have seen better ones.
But, I think you should go because every perspective is always different and it’s worth it.
I took the lift (elevator) to go to the top. This entrance is on the right side of the back of the church. Opposite side where you can buy the tickets.
IMPORTANT: for women you tummy needs to be cover and your shoulders. I had a tide dress and it wasn’t a problem. My husband had shorts and a t-shirt and he was fine go inside.
The elevator doesn’t go down, it’s only to go up. We took the stairs to come down.

The church is very beautiful especially at the front and at the side. If you want a perfect picture, I recommend going early because there are a lot of tourists. By far my favorite part of Milan!
I could honestly stare at this all day and never get tired of all the fine details.
It's absolutely incredible, the time and dedication it took to make this. To see it in person is truly breathtaking.
We bought tickets online before hand so we chose a time and only waited with the others that had our time stamp tickets which took maybe 5 minutes to get inside.
We also got tickets to go up top to the roof. We chose the stairs, and were informed that those tickets are actually separate and don't need a time to go up. You can use them any time of day until 6pm, the last group that can go up. And they're valid for 3 days. So you can see the inside at your designated time and then any time go up within the 3 days. Also many online sources say that men are required to wear pants, but during very hot summer months shorts are allowed.
Now I can cross it off my bucket list, but am also now determined to see it as many more times as I can!

This was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.
I came on a rainy day in December. Tickets were online and cost 16 regular 8 reduced. While this is a little steep, you can really spend 1-2 hours here. It is a lot of stairs but can be done in only a few minutes, and if you’re able-bodied it shouldn’t be an issue.
Once at the viewing platform, the views are CRAZY! Super beautiful on every side and it is so cool to be walking along the outside of the roof of the church. Surreal.
Another set of stairs takes you to the actual roof where the views are even better. Incredibly beautiful and historical architecture. Coming down the stairs you enter the Cathedral itself which is adorned with sculptures, painting, and more beautiful architecture. We came on a Sunday so we were able to observe a mass as well.
This was an absolutely wonderful experience. It’s famous for a reason, don’t miss it!

Visiting Milan Duomo with my family, including two kids, was an overall okay experience, but a few aspects left us with mixed feelings.
The cathedral itself is a breathtaking masterpiece, with its intricate architecture and stunning design. Our kids were fascinated by the grandeur of the exterior and the history behind this iconic landmark. However, our enthusiasm was somewhat dampened by the extensive security measures at the entrance. While safety is undoubtedly important, the level of scrutiny felt exaggerated, making the entry process a bit tedious, especially with children in tow.
One major downside during our visit was the ongoing renovation work. It impacted the overall ambiance and obstructed some of the views, diminishing the full splendor of this historical site.
Additionally, the cost of going up in the tower with the elevator was a bit steep (17 EUR / person if I remember correctly). We opted to skip the tower ascent due to the high cost, which was disappointing considering it's one of the main attractions.
On a positive note, the interior of the cathedral was awe-inspiring, and exploring the surrounding square was a delightful experience. The vibrant atmosphere and surrounding shops and cafes added to the charm of the visit.
In conclusion, Milan Duomo is undoubtedly a must-visit, but potential visitors should be aware of the renovation work and be prepared for the associated challenges. The security measures could be more streamlined, and the pricing for additional experiences like the tower ascent may need reconsideration, particularly for families with children.

The cathedral is very impressive. The structure, the decoration, the sculptures, the paintings - literally everything is beautiful. A must-see when visiting Milan. It is worth noting that the staff at the cathedral are very helpful.
The view from the roof is equally spectacular, so it's worth a visit there too. You can use the stairs or the lift.
For both the cathedral and the rooftop, you can (and should) buy tickets in advance to avoid long queues.

One of the most special buildings I have been in- it is truly a work of art in architectural form. We did the roof tour which I would wholeheartedly recommend despite its increased price. You can see so much of Milan from the roof and it is great for photography. The inside of the cathedral is also very impressive. Probably the number one sight in Milan and well worth a visit.

The Duomo di Milano is simply breathtaking. Its intricate details and sheer size are awe-inspiring. Climbing to the rooftop provided panoramic views of the cityscape, truly unforgettable. Inside, the cathedral's grandeur, with its countless statues and mesmerizing stained glass windows, captivated me. A definite must-see for anyone visiting Milan!
The P.za del Duomo is a public square that was arranged in its current configuration during the 1700s. This urban space is primarily renowned for its grand cathedral, which stands as the centerpiece of the plaza.
The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is a five-storey mall in Milan, Italy, which houses luxury clothing brands and upscale dining. The luxurious architecture and historic context of the building reflects the country's newly-acquired self-confidence after years of political and social turmoil during the chaotic era of Italian unification.
The Gallerias are definitely a must see. Even if just for a quick window shopping session and a picture in the middle (literally everyone has their phone out).
All the shops are high end but there are a couple of nice ice cream shops.
It’s right next to the Duomo so head on over after and walk around.
Highly recommend to visit

Definitely a beautiful spot to take pictures and visit some luxury stores. It's honestly a lot smaller than I thought it would be. It's just a walk through outdoor mall with a select number of stores and a few restaurants. Nice to walk through for a few minutes.
Visit earlier in the morning if you want to get pictures without anyone in them!

Absolutely beautiful! Every store window makes you want to go in and shop! The architecture and overall beauty is breathtaking! We walked in and out of every section and were in awe with the magnificent structure. The amount of people was crazy! We happened to be there during fashion week and there were models dressed and taking photos everywhere! If you go to Milan you have to go to the Galleria!!!

The architecture is simply stunning and so beautiful. There are restaurants, clothing stores and much more. The place is very nice to take a picturesque view. Fashion starts from here so it is a must to see when in Milan

Not sure how to describe this place correctly. Shopping center with the most famous brands. Most people visit it just to take a look and make a photo.
It makes sense to visit just to close point "to see the most famous shopping gallery in Europe". In general, nothing special.
Nice stationary shop with a some unique souvenirs.

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan is an architectural masterpiece. Its grandeur was palpable as I stroll under the soaring glass ceiling adorned with intricate designs.
The luxury boutiques, cafes, and restaurants add to the allure, creating an unforgettable experience. Whether you're admiring the mosaic floors or marveling at the historic significance, this iconic landmark would never fail to impress you. A must-visit for anyone exploring Milan's rich culture and history!"

I arrived in the evening that every store already all closed, but the galleria still amazing to visit and take photos. So beautifully and artistically designed! Enjoyed window shopping as well as each store has nice display though it’s closed. A must visit spot while in Milan!

Strolling through the gallery's luxurious boutiques, cafes, and restaurants is an elegant experience. The intricate mosaic floors are a visual treat, and the magnificent glass dome allows natural light to flood the space. It's a perfect blend of history and modernity, offering an unforgettable shopping and cultural journey. A must-visit destination for anyone exploring Milan's beauty and charm! ✨🛍️🍝

What a remarkably beautiful place – inside and out! Magnificent. An exquisite demonstration of unparalleled artistry and skill. The architecture, the murals and pretty much everything else. The attention to detail is simply wow-inspiring. Full of elegant shops and upscale dining establishments, the Galleria creates an ambiance of beauty while maintaining a luxurious price range. Standing in the middle and gazing up at the mesmerizing murals, each one depicting a different continent, is the pinnacle of this experience.
Great vibes.

The building itself is gorgeous and mesmerizing. We had a good time walking around. It’s also fun to look around the luxury stores but other than that there isn’t much to do or look at. It’s also extremely crowded to the point that it gets difficult to walk.

This place screams of Luxury! Literally littered with the most expensive brands in the world. Crowded with locals and tourists alike, best visited early in the morning. Don't forget to step on the Bull's balls and spin 3 times for luck!

Iconic and historical place to visit when in Milan. Within reach by subway Duomo. Also trams are nearby. Plenty of highend designer brands and restaurants in this shopping area. Weekends and public holidays are super crowded.

The Vittorio Emanuele gallery is considered the oldest shopping gallery in Italy and is, without a doubt, absolutely stunning... The architecture, the shops, the coffehouses... Everything is a sight to behold. Well worth the visit. It is also a place with a large crowd of people, so if you want to see the place unobstructed, I recommend that you go very early in the morning.

This shopping mall has the old charm and sophistication. The floor, the roof and overall architecture of the building are stunning. Famous signature brands have shops here. This is a place for the rich. There are several restaurants here as well.

Our family recently explored the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and the experience was nothing short of stunning.
The architecture of the Galleria is awe-inspiring, with its elegant design and intricate detailing. Walking through the historic passageways, we felt transported to a bygone era of grandeur and sophistication. The kids were fascinated by the intricate mosaics, high glass ceilings, and the general sense of opulence that permeated the surroundings.
However, for a family on a budget, the allure of the luxury shops and designer boutiques was bittersweet. While window shopping was enjoyable, the reality was that most of the items on display were way beyond our financial reach. It's essential for families to be aware that this is more of an experience destination than a budget-friendly shopping spot.
On a positive note, the atmosphere was vibrant, and the Galleria is not just about shopping. We took a moment to enjoy a coffee in one of the historic cafes, soaking in the ambiance and people-watching, which added a pleasant touch to our visit.
In summary, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is a must-visit for its architectural marvel and historical significance. Families should approach it with the understanding that the shopping experience might be more aspirational than practical, but the overall ambiance and cultural richness make it a worthwhile stop, even if you're not planning to splurge on designer goods.
The Sforzesco Castle is a magnificent medieval-Renaissance fortress with multiple museums and art collections. It was originally built as a fortress by the Visconti dynasty, and later became home to the powerful Sforza dynasty. The castle's defences were designed by the multitalented da Vinci, who is also credited with designing other famous structures like the Mona Lisa.
Amazing place, wonderful historical experience! There are three different museums in the place, all three dealing with history. Simply amazing, one is an ancient art museum that includes paintings and photos from different periods going back several years. The second is ancient objects, furniture, moving accessories and more, the third is the museum of ancient musical instruments. One ticket costs five euros and allows entry to the three museums.
I really enjoyed it. You must visit there!
There was no line at the entrance and there was no need to purchase a ticket in advance.
Ortal Shushan — Google review
Building itself is visually interesting, but not original. However, there are several rather nice museums inside. I spent there about three interesting hours for 5 Eur, which is very good value. The biggest exhibit is one of the last Michelangelo statues, which is housed in its own exposition, but there is way more to see in the castle. Definitely recommended if you have some time to spent while visiting Milano.
Dusan Bolek — Google review
The entrance to the castle itself is free, but to get to the museums you need a ticket which is 5€ full price and lets you visit all of the museums. They even have lockers which let you travel around the castle and the museum without carrying anything.
Everything is nice and well kept, there are benches everywhere and the staff, even with their limited English, were trying to help as much as they could.
The whole castle is too big to walk on one day, so we prioritized the things we went there for. If you want to visit everything, you should visit at least twice.

Absolutely gorgeous place! It's 100% worth it just for the outside parts. The complex is big, and the adjoining park offers a great relaxing spot and various drinks and foods to refresh you. Totally stunning for everyone, not just those interested in history! Also there are free toilets.

Beautiful castle. You can enjoy the great gathering here. The fountain is eye-catching. Lovely parko area. You can have a good weekend afternoon here as well as everyday anytime. Only if you want to visit the Museum you need a ticket. Otherwise the whole area is a public access of free

A very nice castle and museum. There are many rooms, everybody will find something to like. You need to count with exhibition which takes at least 3 hours so if you hurry, you should check only items you are interested in. There is also a beautiful view from the top. If you take a bag with you, you can store it in a locker located downstairs (1 euro deposit - will be returned after you input the key back). After exhibition you can find a good place for rest outside. This place is also magical in the evening.

This place is so stunning. I sat within the castle walls listening to live music from a stage that had been set up while sketching a picture. Truly a wonderful experience.
Not going inside and instead walking around some of the most beautiful architecture I have ever seen will be free and well worth your time. There are also free toilets and a water refill on site which is a bonus.

Definitely the largest intact castle I have been to, the distance from moat to first scalable wall must be 40m, and an attacker would face an array of arrows and spears before they even navigated a ladder into position.
That said, pay the 5€ for the entrance and the extra for the headset so you can learn about some of the more interesting paintings, tables and artifacts. (Stupidly, the put the headphone lady BEFORE the ticket purchase, so you have to circle back!)
I never made it up the tower, but I can only imagine those views!

Very beautiful castle with a garden in the middle, we visited on a sunday and it wasn't busy at all. The castle is well maintained. There are no restaurants or shops inside the castle other than the info point, but there is a big garden outside the castle, I'll attach a pic of it. It is definitely a must visit place if you are in Milan.

Visited this castle whilst in Milan. It is in a great central location. It is free to enter and walk into, but if you want to walk around the inside of the castle and see the exhibits then that is €5 or you can get a student ticket. You are not allowed to take large bags around the exhibits either and cannot take videos, only pictures. This is nice to look around and you can also pay for a translator earpiece it you want to listen to the history. There are some people trying to sell you roses and bracelets etc on the inside so be aware of them

Beautiful castle with so many things to explore in and around it! You can pay extra to visit the museum where you can see some of the furniture music instruments, paintings and more. Alternatively, you can enjoy the park near the castle or appreciate the castle from the outside for free.

Very cool place to walk around. We didn’t go in any of the museums because we didn’t have too long but you could easily spend a whole day here! Otherwise it is free to walk around. On Saturdays there is a huge market on the outskirts of the castle with bags, food, mulled wine, lots of trinkets, cooking items etc! Highly recommend.

Sforzesco Castle itself is a sight to behold. We marvelled at its architecture and the historical significance of it. Inside, there are plenty of exhibits, from sculptures to drawings to furniture and many more.
While some may enjoy this, I was fatigued after an hour into the never ending displays on different floors of the castle. Perhaps splitting the visit into several days might ease this fatigue.
As the castle grounds are free to explore and is a tourist attraction, you will come across unscrupulous individuals who attempt to ‘welcome’ you to Milan by forcing bands or flowers on you. They will demand high payment in exchange. I am surprised that nothing is done by the staff of the castle regarding this. While it doesn’t detract from what the castle has to offer, this has definitely impacted our visit negatively as we navigated our ways away from these incidents.
For those not into art and history, I would still recommend visiting for the architecture and for pictures as this is a tourist spot in Milan. However, you don’t have to purchase tickets to view the exhibits.
Here are some images and videos of the exhibit. It only provides a glimpse into what the castle has to offer. For the complete experience, you should purchase the tickets and view the exhibit.
Eu Ken Ng — Google review
It's a castle with 6 museums inside it, all accessible for 3 euros (for students) or 5 euros. If you don't wanna go inside the museums, you can still check the place out, the fountain in front of it, and the big beautiful installations outside. However if you got time, the museus are really worth the visit. There is a Michelangelo sculpture, ancient arts and weapons, the musical instruments museum, an Egyptian museum, and a few others to check. The bad thing is that most of the exhibitions only have texts in Italian, no translation for English.

Lovely castle to walk around or chill at. I personally loved the garden in the middle of the castle where you could sit out in the shade and enjoy the surrounding views. The museums have mazing pieces. There were some real surprising pieces of art. I paid 2 or 3 euros to get into all 14 unique parts of the castle. There's art varying from paintings to furniture to cloths and musical instruments. Definitely would recommend anyone to spend a few hours here.

This castle is one of the most, if not the most, impressive and beautiful fortresses / castles I've been in.
A real must seen!
The size, built ornaments, towers, walls, ditch - all are great sights. And there are multiple museums inside...
With the triumfh arch and beautiful garden near by, this can fill half a day of great sight seeing.

An amazing place, it's €5 to gain entry which I recommend. However just having a wander through the massive courtyards and taking in the picturesque building and surroundings is definitely worth the visit. It links the park and the way towards Duomo.
Spectacular place.

Sforzesco Castle is a must visit when in Milano. The castle and park is free, and enjoyable any time of the year. Viewing the castle is breath-taking and be sure to pay attention to the remaining piece of the Milanese wall. During warmer months you can be lucky to spot turtles in the water, and keep an eye out for cats in the grassy moat. Bring lunch or a snack to relax in the green and forget the busy city for a moment.

Very nice medieval fortification that houses several of the city's museums & art collections. For the ticket price of only 6 euro you get the access to the entire complex, and it's totally worth it. We spent nearly 3 hours on this cultural & history learning experience and we didn't even see a half of the exhibition rooms. We'll definitely come back here on our next visit to Milan.

I'd recommending getting an audio guide or booking a guide experience to get the most of the trip. The museums and huge and have lots of thins to see but you might feel like you are missing out if you don't have the extra experience of having a guide.

Sforzesco Castle is absolutely gorgeous, oh my god, while visiting you can somehow see and feel how ages full of history are hosted by the amazing and strong walls. It's like a portal, you have to see it.
Chill atmosphere, i was at the beginning of the week, people where enjoying the place, some tourists but not overly crowded.
Come here in the working days in the morning and you'll feel like you got the whole place for yourself .
A nice bonus are some cats that are really cute 😍

Amazing architecture! I spent less than an hour walking around and inside the walls but not inside the buildings because my shoes weren’t comfortable . But I’d recommend to spend more time tho because it’s really big and there is lots of places to see and walk in, out and around! It’s totally worth visiting if you are into architecture and history, just go prepared to walk a lot.

Beautiful castle in the middle of Milano. You can walk right through without buying a ticket or chose some exhibits or special sections, where you might need a ticket.
This is a famous mural painting by Leonardo da Vinci that portrays the reactions of Jesus' apostles after he announces one of them will betray him. The painting is amazing and even bigger than expected, and its still one of the top things to do in Milan.
For me it's one of the most and fabulous art treasures in the world. I would easily compare this to completing a pilgrimage for art and history enthusiasts alike. I would say the feeling was like being one with the great master himself just to see the great fresco with my own eyes.
We purchased our tickets through pre booking with a 3 hour walking tour. You can not do the walking tour if you choose not to. To see this masterpiece in person is definitely a bucket list item.

Fascinating to see the original art work preserved after the world war bombing that almost destroyed it. The room is light and climate controlled to attempt to protect the artwork.
We paid €15 each to get in. Worth the price to see it, but there's not much else to see. It's a very small museum.
I believe tours start approximately every 15 to 30 minutes, but call ahead or be prepared for a short wait to enter. They only sell 35 tickets to each time slot and it's hard to predict demand.
The pictures of the damage to the building and courtyard from the war were moving and help one to realize that, in war, no one cares about anything of significant value...only an appetite for destruction.
It's heartbreaking to realize how self-destructive our human nature really is. Makes me long to put off the natural man and rise above those natural tendencies.

Beautiful! You only get 15 minutes in the room. No bags or food are allowed but you can lock up everything before you go in. Tickets sell out very fast so buy them well in advance or book a walking tour!!!

This is a perfect way to display this type of a masterpiece. Tickets booking online , you have to watch the website to book. Make sure you are aware of your time on your ticket .very small groups Entry is through a series of climate control doors and exhibits that show a lot of the history of the content and the mural. It's impossible to describe this is just everything you expected to be. Pictures of must stop if you're anywhere within a day's travel in the world.

You will have 30 minutes to visit this masterpiece!! Try to book with the guide you will get decent explanation of the painting . Maybe it doesn’t look so attractive but 30 minutes will be enough to leave you speechless. It is important to know that booking has to be done 2 months in advance due to to high demand.Once again i am happy to witnessed such an art !

Tickets must be purchased online. During my visit the green pass is needed to obtain your physical tickets. My tickets were 23+ EU because I selected an English tour guide which was worth it because our tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate. You’re only allow to appreciate the amazing art work for 15 minutes, which is a bummer wish I could’ve stayed longer.

Definitely a must see in Milan and you can try to buy the tickets online although that option might be hard for last minute bookings. Alternative book tours via the normal websites and I would definitely recommend a guided tours. If the guide is good, you will learn a lot. You can only stay 15 minutes appreciating the last supper

For my visit date, the online tickets were no longer available. I contacted the group sales and they told me that 18 days before any given visit date, any unsold group tickets are released for individual online purchases. So, I kept re-checking the website and I was able to buy 2 tickets but I had to be quick.
The museum has nice displays showing the restoration work as well as photos of the church from the WW2 bombings. It is truly amazing that the painting survived.

It's very beautiful, and worth going at nearly any price. But the actual price is like €12, and the tour price is like €75. But you have to get your tickets well in advance because the tour companies buy up all the ticket spots, and it's basically scalping, which is really unsavory. But the museum is not motivated to do anything about it, so you're stuck paying a 500% markup for essentially nothing. So get your tickets early so that you don't have to pay the tour guide premium. The tour guide adds almost no value to the experience, so the minute you decide to go (and you definitely should go), get on line and buy your tickets, so you don't get caught in the tour guide markup scalping racket.

Tickets go on sale 2 months in advance and they do sell out. Luckily I bought my tickets in advance because we saw multiple people turned away at the door the day we went. The website is a bit challenging to navigate, but a necessity. I gave the four star rating because I think they could make it more accessible for people. You have to go with a tour group, which is not ideal, but fine. The work itself is, of course, incredible and the preservation/restoration process is quite impressive.

Definitely one of the must see site in your next visit in Milano.
One of the most known painting in the world. You probably saw a photo or replica, but there is nothing like the experience to stand in front of it in the actual room it decorates.
It's impossible to get tickets in the tickets office you must booked long time in advance, I got it through a local tour guide few days before and still it was very limited in time slots. It is more expensive but you can enjoy the story about the history of the painting.

And also you can be inside only for 15 minutes after that you are kicked out literally.... Yeah it's a masterpiece but I don't think it's worth the time you need to wait to join and than see it only for 15 minutes....
These are just some of the pictures and the videos I took of the Cenacolo, The church, surrounding area and other....

A little thing that maybe was a bit tricky is the reservation process. I bought the ticket from the official website then through the service VIVATICKET. I had to constantly check for availability on the day I wanted to go. Luckily found a free spot at a convenient day and time but really recommend to book lot in advance.

The ticket usually sold out very quickly so plan accordingly. There will be lockers to store personal belongings.

We bought tickets in advance and were ushered inside at the appropriate time. The system was well organized and we were able to see the show comfortably. It is better to be punctual.

The botanical garden of Villa Melzi d'Eril is a beautiful place with statues, lakeside paths, and a villa on the grounds. It is a great place to visit if you are interested in plants and flowers.
It was named the most beautiful garden of Italy in 2016 and it deserve the label. It is a must do in Bellagio.

Wedding photographer's perspective: We've shot here a couple of pre weddings sessions and it has always been a beautiful experience. The architecture of this villa is a great frame for elegant pictures and the gardens are simply a paradise on earth. They are super wide so that even if the location is crowded it's still possible to find private spots for photography. The light at sunset here makes everything magical and cinematic. Our couples have always loved exploring this villa. The fee for shooting here is one of the cheapest on the lake, making choosing Villa Melzi an obvious choice 10/10!!

Villa Melzi is one of the highlights of lake como.
Inside here you can find manicured and beautiful lawns; a chapel at the end of the garden, the villa itself with unique symmetry architecture, and a small anti-aquarium house.
The villa’s beauty will strike at your heart with its beauty.
The villa has an interesting history; especially on its ownership origins till today and is worth a read.
Seen in the attached photos is a map of the villa.
In the chapel are incredibly ornate marble sculptures; seen in the attached video is one example of marble sculpted to look like fabric.

Had such higher expectations but unfortunately was disappointed. It's a nice place with a variety of flower and exotic plants but not much else.
The museum is basically one room with a few statues.
The yard/garden has beautiful views but definitely not worth 8 euros per person. The aquarium is almost non-existent.
It has a few decent buildings, one which is still occupied by a resident.
Overall great for a stroll but not much to see other than different types of trees and plants.
Mostly used by newly-weds for wedding pictures.

The gardens of the Melzi Villa are huge pretty, and actually pretty basic. The number of trees and unique plants is fun, but you're not going to see any elaborate floral arrangements or planting patterns. For example, the Japanese section is an unexpected treat, but the water inside the pond was was very dirty and unwelcoming. I'm not sure €8 is worth the entry price, at least not in August (maybe other months have different plants in season). It takes twenty minutes to walk from the ferry port to the front gate so budget that time into your day. You'll spend maybe a hour in the gardens.

Beautifully manicured and well taken care of gardens. The house and chapel are in terrific shape. Wonderful plant and tree specimens throughout. Make sure to bring water as there are no services other than a WC.

A very spectacular garden with beautiful landscaping. There are 2 interior buildings which are accessible, the museum and the chapel. The house is closed off which is understandable since it's actually somebody's house. I felt very lucky to be able to see the garden itself.
The museum is interesting and takes you through the ownership of the house over time,.and key events that happened there. It also gave me some perspective on the Napoleonic and Austrian periods.
Arriving here is a short pleasant walk along the promenade from the boat stop, very easy to get to. Set aside at least an hour since even though the garden may not look huge, it's actually pretty big. Bring water. Note that to appreciate many hiddem parts of the gardens you will need to walk up steep hills, but you can still enjoy much of it from the main, flat, walkway.

Beautiful garden area and a lot to explore, there’s a small chapel, a lot of nature, places to take photos and access to the lake near the end. It costed around 8 euros per person and its free for under twelve years old. Definitely a must visit for at least 3 hours (most of the time at the lake and walking) for your day trip to Bellagio to visit Lake Como.

Garden was nice with a map for all the monuments and trees. 8 euro per person seemed a little high as the place was rather small and didn't offer much to look at except a nice view of the mountains and a couple landmarks on the property. I understand landscaping is a tedious job to maintain a property I just expected more. Not bad but not great

Beautiful gardens just on the bank of the lake in Bellagio. The walk and landscape is beautiful. Although they call Villa it is more the view of the lake and the lush gardens are the experience. Typically you walk from one to another and back to Bellagio and can take an hour. The entrance fees are 8€ and free for kids.
The Villa Carlotta museum houses one of the most renowned gardens in Italy. The garden was designed by Gian Battista Sommariva and is a reflection of reason surrounded by its more romantic counterpart, the flashy theater of the following century. The art collection inside the museum is renowned for its many works by famous artists such as Canova, David, and Throvaldsen.
Fantastic villa on the shore of Lake Como with stunning views across the lake from both the museum and the garden. This Villa contains superb gardens and an excellent museum of the villa itself. The museum is large with lots of room to move around. It also has lots of different rooms, art, artifacts and antiques to see but my favourite part was walking around the very large garden.
Well worth a visit

Brilliant place to visit. They have two routes around the lovely gardens, one not so steep, and one fairly steep. But it was worth it for the views of Lake Como. They have a reasonable cafe, inside and out, with again lovely views. The villa(the museum) was ok

Absolutely stunning! As a local even I was impressed by its absolutely beautiful gardens and the villa. The view is incredible and I have already been here several times and will always come back. It’s a 10/10 for me.

One of the best gardens I have ever visited! So beautiful and diverse!
Try going in the morning so you have more time exploring as the garden is pretty big. It also has picnic spots so it’s a great place to spend a day on when visiting lake como. Has fantastic lake views, the villa itself is gorgeous, but the garden is a botanical one with many cool plants. Has a bamboo jungle which is magical.
There’s free parking down the villa & there are elevators to take you up in the garden & upper floors of the villa, right outside of the villa in the south.
Absolutely recommend a visit, so worth the price (15€ adults)

One of the biggest and also most beautiful villas in the Lake Como area, with audio guides available and 2 suggested itineraries depending on whether you want a short walk around or a longer stroll in the garden.
Definitely worth the visit, for all ages. It was also made wheelchair-accessible by the gentle slopes and lifts.
Parking available along the road, both free and paid lots.

Beautiful Villa, beautiful gardens and a lovely walk on a perfect spring day. The cafe and toilets were open. I would recommend 2-3 hours for a leisure walk around the gardens before finishing at the museum (which ends in the villa and gift shop). We parked 400mtrs before reaching the villa in a paid parking place which we were lucky to get some space in. There are some decent restaurants and places to eat walking distance from the villa. There is a ferry stop across the villa and that takes you to Bellagio (another beautiful place which is a must visit).

Very enchanting place that you could spend either a quick visit or all day; so much to experience and it’s all stunningly beautiful

We loved this place! The garden was amazing with different species from all over the world. So cool that they are able to thrive in Italy due to the microclimates around Lake Como. The villa had beautiful views of the lake and offered many opportunities for great photos. The café inside had a decent selection of food and drinks, although slightly overpriced.

Love it and hate it:) it was a great walk, very nice and scenic. Very poorly marked trying to exit. You need to really read the map as there is only one exit sign, and it's not at the exit. It is very confusing for most of the people there. Plan on about 4 hrs if you want to do the whole thing. There are signs that say 75 minutes for the full walk, maybe, probably not. Add an extra 30 minutes to find the exit. Think only 3 people work there, so you are on your own. Overall, it's a really great place with poor sinage.

Gorgeous house and gardens to visit. Lovely artefacts in the museum and sculptures.
The gardens are set in wonderful grounds, lots of it are not accessible for wheelchair users as it is very up and down.
Wonderful plants and flowers carefully set out with a waterfall running down the hillside. Great views from all angles and photo opportunities.
We visited on a very rainy day but this never spoilt our enjoyment.
Would recommend a half day visit. It has toilets and a coffee shop.

Beautiful villa with huge well kept garden. It has some old furniture dating back to the old times but also a collection of cutlery and crockery which don’t relate to the families who once lived there. In that respect villa Necchi in Milan is far more interesting. If you visit in the afternoon the sun has turned and you can take beautiful pictures from the balcony of the lake scenery.

Incredible villa. Is beautiful.
My partner and I went without a ticket and after less than 5 minutes in line, we entered. The garden is the most beautiful thing I saw. Very spacious, it takes 1 hour to explore it. Then the museum is also very good to know how those owners lived from centuries ago.

One of the most gorgeous villa on the Como lake. Fully suggest to all the tourist in order to spend a lovely afternoon. Best timing is in spring when all the gardens are full of flowers

A memorable visit with stunning & immaculate gardens, and very well-signposted walking routes throughout the property with different options of different lengths. The house itself was impressive, but the gardens and views of the lake are the reason to visit. Would strongly recommend to anyone in the area!

Beautiful house surrounded by gardens that seem to go on forever. Lovely, well laid out walks, that go from manicured to wild, but always jaw dropping in their beauty. Would love to visit again.

Villa Carlotta is such a beautiful and peaceful place. The vast garden with the numerous flowers is absolutely breathtaking and the museum (inside of the Villa) is spacious and very lightning. I thought the place was smaller and that the visit would have been shorter but you have to take at least 45 min to 1 hour for the short visit (main garden tour and museum) and 1 hour 30 min to 2 hours for the big visit with all the garden.
It is clean, not too crowdy and I believe that Spring time offers the best images with the colorful flowers and trees everywhere. Don't hesitate !

The grounds are nice, however not easy to walk with a child and not wheelchair or pushchair friendly.
The main floor of the house is worth a quick visit but the other floors are not. The rooms are tiny and filled with minimal artifacts and furniture.
Worth a visit if in the area but your not missing out on much if you view from the lake.
The gardens are impressive from the Napoleon era.

The botanical garden is pretty and has some beautiful views. I was expecting to see a little but more, but it was very nice. Definitely wear sneakers, as there are a lot of rocks you will be walking on. It's right next to the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, so it's a very short walk and convenient.

We've been here several times photographing couples and we've always been impressed by the beautiful gardens and the elegant elements of the interiors. It really is a great combo of both. Super easy to reach by car or ferry, quite cheap and with a great number of different backgrounds for pictures. Yes, book your photoshoot here without doubting!

Amazing gardens, perfectly kept. We went on a rainy day and it was still beautiful and inside the villa is unbelievable. Highly recommend.

The botanical garden is great. We have chosen the best time to visit when everything is in bloom.

Despite the pouring rain during our visit to Villa Carlotta, the botanical garden's beauty was undiminished, offering a peaceful walk along the 75-minute trail, ending with the museum. The garden was the definite highlight, overshadowing the less impressive museum.

Villa Carlotta Gardens in Lake Como, Italy, is an absolute gem. The lush botanical paradise captivated me with its exquisite beauty. Strolling through the meticulously maintained gardens, I was surrounded by a stunning array of plants, flowers, and ancient trees. The view of Lake Como from the villa's terraces is simply breathtaking, providing a serene backdrop for a leisurely visit.
The historical significance of Villa Carlotta, with its art collection and charming villa, adds depth to the experience. I was particularly moved by the art and sculptures on display, which offered a glimpse into the rich history of this place.
Also nice: doga were allowed to enter the gardens for a nice family walk. The longest red route is about 1 hour.

Villa Carlotta is a lovely botanical garden with so many different varieties of plants. There is such diversity in the fauna and flora growing here. For example, they have a rhododendron section, a succulent and cactus garden, a fern garden, and so many others. The layout of this garden has been planned by a mastermind., and many walking past throughout the garden. The villa itself has beautiful architecture and art inside. A lovely little oasis right on the waterfront and very close to the water ferry drop off.
The Funicolare Como-Brunate is a cable railway that connects the towns of Como and Brunate, providing an exhilarating ride with breathtaking vistas of the lake. Passengers can enjoy spectacular views while ascending to the scenic hilltop village of Brunate. The funicular railway offers stunning panoramas over Lake Como and its lush surroundings, making it a popular attraction for tourists visiting Italy's Lombardy region.
The imposing cathedral was built over three centuries and features intricate marble Gothic architecture and a beautiful dome. The interior is decorated with colorful frescoes and intricate tapestries. It's a must-see destination in Como, Italy.
The Cattedrale di S. Maria Assunta di Como is not far from the lake and in the the main square. This cathedral was started in the 1400's and was not completed until the 1600's. They were persistent and it sure paid off as this Cathedral is magnificent, breath taking and awe inspiring. It is so huge it is impossible to capture the entire structure, marble, tapestries, multiple altars, stained glass windows, tombs, statutes and more. I unfortunately didn’t have much time to spend here but was in awe with what I did get to see. If I am ever in the Lake Como area again I would definitely come see it again and spend more time here.

Beautiful Catholic church with great interiors. The place had both gothic and renaissance interiors and there’s a story behind this. Go in and read about the architecture of the place and find out more about this piece of work that took hundreds of years to complete. This is free entry as well but they do ask for donations if you wish to support the church.

One of the most amazing ceilings I can recall seeing in any cathedral anywhere (and we've seen a lot), worth it for that alone. Otherwise pretty unremarkable but for some contemporary stained glass. There's no compulsory charge for entry, donation only.

Beautiful cathedral in Como, in a good location. My husband and I ate at the restaurant in front of it, at evening, and we really enjoyed the tranquility of the place and the view.

Free entrance! Also.. Look up! That ceiling definitely humbles you. Walking around the side of the back also allowed for a different and less crowded view.
Central to Como town, this place seems to be a common rendezvous area for people to meet — locals and trousers alike. So, find a place near by to sit and have an afternoon apero and just enjoy the people-watching while you write your postcards!
Do a quick wiki of this place before going. There’s some cool architectural snippets to be had. Good historical landmark!

very beautiful place in the old city of Como. You learn about cathedral's history - might be a medieval example for today's public construction in Germany :-))
Most impressive grand cupola, butxalso many Details as the sun-dial and the stained Glas windows

This is a beautiful church with a long history. The interior is free to enter but donations are welcome. More than most churches, you'll find a lot of panels and historical pieces showcasing the church. The context helps a lot and makes it a better learning experience. The outside is wonderfully detailed, but the best part is that you can interact with parts of the old foundation! A side of the church that was excavated is open for viewing, seating, and appreciation. It's a great stop on your way around town.

Beautiful church in the heart of Como.
The facade looks rather simple, but it is still magnificent.
The interiors are well made, even if not too crowded.
There is even a part of the church dedicated for people who want to think and pray.
Definitely a nice stop if you are in town.

Amazing place, romantic, quite, smell of nature, and much much more. I visited lake lugano from como. It was one full day trip to como and lugano. In my opinion, each city needs couple of days and maybe more. The center of the city is bigger than como. People are friendly. The only thing that you need to have swiss Franc with you, since thier exchange rate is not fared. Also, you may suffer from mobile data service since they are not part of EU. As a conclusion, i will visited again and again

It’s a beautiful serene lake in Switzerland. It is on the border of Italy & Switzerland. Took a train ride from Milan to Lugano. Highly recommend boat rides here to enjoy it fullest. I have visited on the weekdays to avoid large crowds. We tried paddle boat from “Rezzonico Boat”. Their staff was very cooperative and also provided Life jackets for Boating. Their prices are affordable too.

Such a serene and beautiful place! The lake Lugano and the city is so calm and peaceful, relaxing. We got here on a weekend and of course most places were closed being in Switzerland. But they did have a few coffee shops, chocolate shops and eateries open. The walk along the shopping streets and up to the cathedral. The get the view from up top from here of the whole city and the lake, spectacular! A walk along the lake front is a must, you will find it so calming and picturesque!

Amazing place, situated between Lake Como in Italy and Lago Maggiore, and the border between southern Switzerland and northern Italy. It is romantic, quiet, with the crisp smell of nature, a nice walk or just to stroll along the lake into the city centre. People are friendly, no harm in saying hi to strangers as you stroll along.

One of the most beautiful lakes I’ve seen in Europe offering a mixture of staggering views. Dancing at the tune of the cool breeze, the tulips are painted on a canvas of the blue lake and mountains covered in dense trees. There’re cozy cafes around offering delicious cakes, delicacies and coffee. You can also shop for good brands around the place. We parked in a parking plaza with average prices. Highly recommended place!
