Val Thorens is a ski resort located in Europe, established in 1971. It sits at the highest altitude and offers top-notch ski slopes, terrain parks and modern lifts. The town is considered as the hub of skiing in Europe, with a variety of ski runs that cater to different preferences. Visitors can choose their speed, turns and scenic view before hopping on one of the high-tech lifts available.
Excellent resort. At 2300m the snow is usually the best. Great links and easy to do all four valleys each day for intermediate skiers. Town centre is a bit wild every evening with lots of young drunk people around if that's your thing.
mark holmes — Google review
Been here many times, snows much better than any other resort due to its height. Especially during April time when lower resorts lack snow (/good quality snow). If you do decide to visit whether you are a good skier/snowboarder or not, then I would recommend going march time (February/January can be too cold). If you're good, getting the ski pass that includes the 3 valleys is worth every penny.
Louis Warren — Google review
At 2350m, snow is not yet an issue. The station is geared towards skiing and cater mainly to an international clientele. British and Dutch mainly. It has the trappings of a small French town with fresh breads, some cafes for drinks and meals but remains a very touristic area. Perfect for skiing. Going to the piste is relatively easy.
Nicolas weng kan — Google review
Great skiing in near perfect weather. The town is cosy and everything is close by (shops, bars, even a cinema). Every apartment building / hotel I've seen was ski in / ski out. But be warned - it is noisy here, with parties lasting until the wee hours of the morning (especially in January).
Ivan Sr?en — Google review
Lovely Ski place in French Alps, lots of ski lefts, lots of bars and restaurants, parking cars may be a bit problem but rest is good, few bars with nice music open till late hours, Food and drinks are bit pricy (expensive) then rest of the French cities.
Dev — Google review
Billed as France's highest ski resort, it's a popular destination for Brits looking for guaranteed snow. Despite this, snow making machinery is in evidence, so perhaps that guarantee needs revising.
The resort has excellent ski to/from accommodation, far better than most. Plentiful lift options and good design mean large queues can mostly be avoided.
Level-wise, it's perhaps best suited to the beginner and intermediate ski/snowboarder, as there are very few black runs. Alleviating this are plenty of easy to access off-piste areas.
Rex Wickham — Google review
This town is at the heart of skiing in Europe. Wake up, suite up and slide down the hill to any number of ski runs. Choose how fast, how many turns and what view you want than jump on that lift. After a few runs stop over for a hot chocolate over looking the majestic mountain valley. If you get pekish have some fine French food, don't forget you will be paying for the view. For anyone looking for a ski/ snowboard trip of a life time I highly recommend this spot.
Lucien Glass — Google review
Expensive but no more so than anywhere else in the French Alps. High so we had great snow and this year the season is being extended into May. Skiing is everything anyone could want from beginner to experienced powder hound... pistes are varied and endless.
VT itself is a rather characterless collection of apartment blocks with a road running through its centre which despite it being a "traffic free" resort, the locals and one in a brown 2CV in particular, seem to regard as a race track. You have been warned.
Eating and drinking out is expensive, although the pizza take-out at the top of the town next to Ski Republic is great, reasonably priced and unsurprisingly very busy.
Simon Lewis — Google review
Great slopes, but some of them are marked as easy even though they are not, and those that are difficult are sometimes marked as difficult. I guess it is a place to love and hate at the same time, but overall it is a nice experience....
Goran A. — Google review
Top-notch ski resort! Well-maintained slopes, spacious, and minimal lift queues. Even during peak times, the wait for lifts is short. Definitely recommended, and I will certainly return for more skiing in Val Thorens.
Ivan Šarić — Google review
Went here with my university and the slopes were amazing! Great snow quality and a large variety of pistes. The clubs in Val Thorens also have an amazing atmosphere and prime locations. The biggest downside is the prices, which are high almost everywhere. Sometimes €12 for 50cl of normal beer.
Mika Oldendorp — Google review
Incredible place! 3 valleys of different verities of ski tracks, for every taste and skills set. You need at least a week to go down each and every ski track there is here.
Явор Камберов — Google review
Visited here for skiing over Christmas. Massive resort with lots to do on and off the slopes. A lot of the view points are accessible on foot via the pedestrian lifts. Zip lines, sledging, bowling and a collection of multicultural cuisines. It’s a one stop shop

Fantastic skiing from and to the hotel door. Great interconnected ski resorts so masses of different runs and levels of difficulty. The Hotel Marielle was a perfect spot for skiing and enjoying apre Ski, excellent buffet meals too. Highly recommend it.

Water & Amusement Parks
Theme Parks
Amusement park with roller coasters & rides for young children, plus an island-themed water park.
A very nice amusement park that can be done in a day time. The attractions here range from soft and slow to extremely thrilling.
They have several rollercoasters, water rides, chill rides for adults and kids. A dedicated eating spot is also available for when hunger hits.
I should not forget to mention the staff. The staff members are extra nice too.
Overall a very fun place for a family visit.
Roni A. — Google review
It a nice small park good for young children. If you are visiting it for the first or second time then you may feel different however, I have visited it at least once every year and it's been a long time since they have introduced any new rides to the park or any changes if any at all. Food options are very minimal and staff do not speak English 98% of the time. Shops are very basic and shows are very limited.
A. D. — Google review
Don't go there if you're not thin. Above a L or 46, you will not fit in most rides. The staff was really nice and kind about it but I felt thorougly humiliated. They gave me fast passes for other rides instead but I couldn't fit either, and I'm an 48/0XL. It was even more demorilizing as I've lost a lot of weight recently lol
I gave 2 stars for the really really nice staff who were very kind to me and checked that I was doing fine as kids were making fun of me. For context, this never happened in any other parks I did in Europe, including Walibi Belgium and Disney for example. I wish their rides were more inclusive.

We didn’t expect much but our experience was great! It was nog too crowded (monday, first week of july) and well maintained. There were 2 shows which were very entertaining. We got a week dated ticket with a burger for lunch for just under 30 euros per person. It was well worth it.
Pleunie Maas — Google review
I had the opportunity to visit here over the summer and was pleasantly surprised by how charming and fun this little park was. Of all the rides there, my personal favorite was TImber as it felt very fast paced and did a great job combining thrills into a family coaster. Most of the park looks very nice after all the changes in the past couple years and I am very exited to see the new updates next year when they build their newest area!
Theodoros Maheras — Google review
Very clean and well maintained park. Staff is super friendly and helpful and the rides are fun and entertaining for adults, youth and younger kids. Toilets are also very clean. Ride waiting times are clearly displayed throughout the park. The live show we saw was definitely entertaining.
We went on a Friday in July and the queues were generally less than 10 minutes on most rides. Everyone had a blast and I can highly recommend going here for a day.
Small note for Apple users; if you order your tickets online (much cheaper that way) and use the “hide my email” feature (aka private relay) you won’t receive any tickets by mail. This is a known issue on their side. Make sure you save your proof of payment and reservation ID and visit to the service desk at the entrance of the park and they will fix it for you.
Have fun!

Habla Manotas,
Very cool fun park. The amenities are clean and the rides are quite new.
The shows we attended were amusing and breathtaking.
From 6-45 years old our 7 people crew had lots of fun.

Fun park with fun rides. Decent food prices. The water rides were a bit of a shock because the water was really dirty. Staff is very friendly. They check your bags at the entrance so don't take any sharp objects with you. Try to buy your tickets minimum 3 days ahead of your visit to benefit from a discount.
caroline eghagha — Google review
Fantastic fun park for the families, not very big but in the same time big enough for a day entertainment. Very clean and looked after. My kids had plenty of fun definitely Will be back soon
Kornelia Desmons — Google review
Had a lovely day out here. Queues weren't too long and most of them had a good amount of shade. The park was clean and tidy and the facilities were clean too. The food was good and not too expensive. If you have younger children or it is a really hot day(which it was when we went) take towels and swimwear as the splash park is a great place to cool down. All in all, a really good day out for all the family.
Rob C — Google review
Purchase tickets at least 3 days before - and you will be in for a treat. Took my son for his birthday, which is just before Halloween. Dr Mystic and his spooky crew made it a day to remember. Yes - the wait was long for some of the rides - but it was worth it.
Great atmosphere, great rides, great day. Thank you to all the lovely staff at Walibi!!
Vicky Sherwin — Google review
Prefer this place than Disneyland, you can comfortably cover all activities without a fastpass (I guess only on low season). Park is nicely crafted and decorated, the rides are just great 👍

Lac du Bourget is a stunning body of water that is surrounded by majestic mountains and scenic paths. It is also home to the popular spa resort town of Aix-les-Bains. Although some visitors have expressed concern about dogs swimming in the lake, it remains one of the most peaceful lakes in the world, with crystal clear water and breathtaking views of nearby castles. Visitors can enjoy boat trips on the lake or dine on board while taking in the picturesque surroundings.
Love the clear water and the view on the mountains from the lake

Great place to stop on N7 near Machezal. Off road, tree shade & picnic table good place for a lunch break or rest. Good view of the lake
Gill C — Google review
Actually very beautiful lake but I wouldn’t swim there because of many dogs swimming there. I don’t know why the city allow that, especially now during coronavirus time, could’ve believed my eyes. Many cities banned that already. The meat based excrement dogs leave behind can cause risk of toxicara and diseases in humans. Dog poo and urine can also affect water quality.

The soothing voice of the lake, one hour swimming in it and a sunny day is all I wanted in Aix les Bains.
Amazing views and great place to be.
It’s just an hour from Lyon by TER trains.

Breathtaking masterpiece by the nature! The trail is easy and secured to walk through. Entrance tickets are fairly worthy for its magnificent view and its maintenance.

Quite crowded when we went on a Saturday afternoon, which ruins a bit the experience. The walk is otherwise spectacular, albeit a bit short. They advertise up to an hour round trip but you could easily do it in half hour. It is mostly flat, so no big effort needed

Nice place for a half day trip from Annecy. The walk is easy and suitable for children and you can do it in about 1 - 1.5 hours. We visited in october and it wasn`t crowded.
There are information panels about how the place was formed and you can search for different shapes in the rocks.

Beautiful place, amazing nature. When I went it was September so not many people ( it can be busy in the summer) it's not long walk, and it's very easy. Around 30 minutes one way, you come back the same way. There is also very nice Caffè with hot food. Short walk to see the castle if you wish.there is no public transport there though, so just by car.

About a decade ago there was no charge now entry costs €5.60 per adult. Quite large crowds, passage does not take more than 20-30 minutes depending on the number of people. No mountain shoes required - I even saw a woman with crutches😀. For a family walk ok.

Dogs not allowed!
Might be an issue if you are afraid of heights!
Sarah Nyman — Google review
Insanely touristy, lots of parking lots, you have to pay entry to go to the actual gorge and lots of people and children. That said hiking in and around that area is very entertaining but the actual gorge isnt great.

Great walk in a narrow canyon on a footbridge suspended 150 feet above the river below.
La Fontaine des Éléphants is a beautiful monument erected in December 1838 to honor the General-Comte de Boigne. Located in the old town of Chambery, it is marked by street signs leading to its center. The fountain features four splendidly designed elephant statues that spray water through their trunks, making it the most famous attraction in the city.
A beautiful fontaine, statue with an interesting story.

Inaugurated in Dec. 1838, this is a monument to celebrate the General-Comte de Boigne.

3.5🌟 we reckon.
On the way back from Annecy to Grenoble, we decided to stop in Chambery. It was still early.
We were pleasantly surprised that the town has lots to offer too. We parked near the main square. As usual, there are lots of restaurants, cafes, ice-cream parlours at the square.
Decided to stroll further after our evening drinks. We arrived at the fountain. Most fountains in larger towns we have seen are always grand and somewhat of a center piece. This one is no different.
The elephants have their backs again the fountain, which is of course a defensive posture. As if to tell everyone, they are protecting the fountain.
Walking further, we were greeted by several other monuments within the town.
A worthwhile stopover with many sights to see.

Beautiful monument and fountain with 4 elephants, 1 on each side spraying water through their trunks. Surrounded by streets that are pleasant to walk and many stores to do some shopping. It is freely accessible and well lit at night. An iconic symbol of the city created to honour a general.

La Fontaine des Éléphants in Chambéry is a true gem. The beauty of the sculpted elephants is simply breathtaking and the attention to detail is amazing. The fountain is surrounded by lush greenery, making it a peaceful and serene place to relax. The atmosphere is peaceful and calming, and it's a great place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. I highly recommend visiting La Fontaine des Éléphants for anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful oasis in Chambéry. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this stunning fountain is not to be missed.

The view from the hill top is very nice and one can see the entire Grenoble and the snow covered (partly/fully depending on weather) hills. There is a nice meandering jogging way down. The Vieille Ville Annecy, a popular tourist attraction, is characterized by its well-preserved medieval Old Town. Visitors can enjoy wandering around the area without any specific purpose and admire the emerald-green canals that run beneath ancient stone bridges. The pastel-painted buildings from the 16th and 17th centuries are another noteworthy feature of this charming town, which basks in the warm sunlight.
Lake Annecy, located in France, is a breathtaking body of water that offers ample opportunities for swimming and various water sports. The lake is surrounded by mountains and adjacent parks with plenty of bike paths to explore. It's an ideal place to take a stroll with your family or furry friend as all stores are pet-friendly. For the ultimate experience, it is recommended to visit during the end of spring or summer when the weather is perfect for enjoying all that this magical place has to offer.
Beautiful lake with a stunning vista of the snow capped alps in the background. The water is clear and blue. A great place to take a leisurely stroll, but also seems a popular area for running or cycling around.
L M — Google review
My visit to the Lake was so amazing. Annecy is a beautiful and peaceful city. The Lake had amazing views and it was simply picturesque.
The water was very clear and the rumours about the lake annecy having the cleanest water in Europe seemed true.
As a tourist to Annecy you definitely have to visit the Lake. There are alot of beautiful places to take nice pictures and after having a fun time at the lake there are a lot of restaurants and bars around you have a meal or drink at very affordable prices.
I will definitely be visiting again in the future as I love it so much my only challenge with the city is that it's very small so you there are no trains or trams to go around and I dont understand how the buses worked.

Definitely you cannot visit France without visiting this place “lac d’Annecy”. It is a magic place with these unimaginable views. Here you can walk with your family, your dog… all of the stores are pet friendly. I prefer to visit this village in summer or in the end of spring because the weather is the most important thing to enjoy it till 100%. Also, behind the pics, there is a big park with grass to rest a bit.

Truly stunning. I will certainly be back for a longer stay! There are water activities to try and the little village town has a lot more shops and restaurants than I had expected! Come for no less than a full day because you will want to enjoy the leisurely lunch, do shopping and enjoy lake. The morning market is really good and the locals are very friendly compared to the rest of France. The region is famous for its dairy products.

Such a beautiful lake with a magnificent view. You can enjoy a picnic with your loved ones while bathing in the lake or taking a sun bath. There is a good restaurant besides the lake but the number of food outlets can be increased to provide food at all times to the tourists.
Apart from that, clear water, blue vibes and the pure environment just makes your day. ❤️

Lake Annecy claims the Europe's most cleanest and clear lake! 😍 its such an amazing clear lake with a French Alps view 😍
There are plenty of activities to do on the lake such as kayaking, swimming (the temperature maybe cold thus suggested to swim during summer) , pedal boat, etc.
Must visit lake 👍🏻

Les Deux Alpes is a popular ski area located on a glacier, offering 43 lifts and a well-equipped snowboard park. During winter, visitors can take advantage of direct shuttle services to reach the resorts of Alpe d'Huez, Les Deux Alpes, and Chamrousse. These shuttles also connect to other nearby resorts as well as various stops in Grenoble city center, Bourg d'Oisans, and Rochetaillee.
My teenage son was in Bronze/Diamante group with Stefan and had a great time whizzing around the slopes and doing jumps in the snow park. He has definitely improved and had a great time. He really liked his instructor too.
I was in Adulte 3 with Matteo. We were 7 adults and Matteo looked after us, encouraged us and helped us to become more confident especially on slopes that were steeper for us. I hadn't had lessons for a long time and found it hard to find adult groups at the right level in the past few years. I felt that as the week went on I was skiing better than I had in a long time! My lack of fitness and confidence has been a real barrier for me over the last few years, but skiing in a nice group with a good instructor made my holiday. I felt so much happier skiing and confident in my ability as the week went on.
I would definitely recommend Prosneige and would book them again for myself and my son.

Had two 2hr private sessions with Mathilde. She was fantastic, really friendly, helpful and a blast to be with. The sessions started and ended on time and everything went smoothly. It's also a great location on the main strip in Val Thorens. Would highly recommend booking your ski lesson with Prosneige!

The guys in Prosneige treated me like a king and fitted the new boots with professionalism and care, I needed an adjustment to the right boot and they were great in doing it. Their service, attitude, and professionalism allowed me to have the best ski boots I ever had and if you love skiing and get to Val Thorens do yourself a favor and buy your boots here

Highly recommend using Prosneige for lessons. We had 6 snowboarding lessons with Charly and absolutely loved them! He provided really clear instructions, tips and demos for beginners and made lessons fun and varied, too. He kept the motivation up when I was struggling which was really important for me! Great instructor

I can't recommend Prosneige highly enough! Jeremy and all the team were absolutely fantastic at fitting some boots for me. I have *very* wide calves, but small feet, and several places in the UK weren't up to the "challenge". Jeremy put me at ease, knew exactly which boots to go for and encouraged me to keep coming back until the fit was perfect.
Being able to buy boots, ski in them the next day and then have any tweaks made there and then was ideal!
Really friendly team, great value service!

This was my first time skiing and thanks to the fantastic instructor and all of the kind staff at Prosneige I cannot wait to come back again!! The hubby and I came to Prosneige after getting recommendations and got two pairs of ski boots fitted there during our stay in Val Thorens. The experience was beyond excellent.
Erik is a true professional, and the amount of time and attention he spends on each customer to get a perfect fit is astounding.
While we were at the shop we encountered a few returning customers who came for post-purchase micro adjustments, and they shares our sentiments. Needless to say they were given the highest level of service, as were we.
We highly recommend Prosneige Val Thorens. There is no better place to get a properly fitted ski boot.

My instructor Philippe (in Val Thorens) was amazing! I could notice that he enjoys teaching people and that makes a difference. He was super nice and really helped boost our confidence on the slopes. He knew exactly how to push us just enough to improve while keeping us safe. Even in group lessons, he somehow managed to give personalized tips to each of us. And his reminder to focus on enjoying ourselves made all the difference, which is something easily to forget for beginners. Merci, Philippe , for helping me improve in one week and reminding me to have fun!

Prosneige School helped me enjoy my ski vacation so much better. I showed up on day one having completely forgotten how to ski. After 3 days taking lessons for 2 hours a day, I was already able to ski down some blue slopes. That's a huge improvement for me. Every day was fun and exciting to see my skill level go up. The instructors were all very friendly. They knew how to push my limits up while still made me feel safe. I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat and will definitely come back the next time I go skiing in Val Thorens.

I always avoid instructors and classes because I tend to be dissapointed by them. This time it was very different and I absolutely loved it.
I had a private instructor for me and my girlfriend who I won't name to increase the changes for him to be available next year when we are coming back. He had very clear and useful feedback during the 6 days.
We were not beginners but were doing many things wrong. In those days we were able to correct our parallel skiing, do some level of carving and go off piste in deep snow. Overall, we couldn't have asked for more.

Galerie Hotel Le Val Thorens, 2 Rue de la Lombarde, 73440 Val Thorens, France

Jeff Caro-Nash — Google review
I've been coming here for a few years and have to say it's an incredible resort.
Not only are there vast areas to ski at all levels, but it's the way they continue to keep the resort up to date in terms of lifts and skiing experience.
It almost feels that every time you come back there is a new high-speed chair or a modification to a run to make it that bit more interesting.
The runs are mainly blue, but they are fantastic, long, and interesting. Some being more suited to beginners and intermediates, and some getting a bit steaper to help people progress. The reds are then a welcomed challenge, with some being un grommed to give that mogal field joy we all love ;-)
The blacks are mostly ungroomed, with some being long and pretty steep in places to give a good challenge to those who want it. Granted, the blacks can often be closed depending on snowfall, but that is good to see in a way that they are looking out for the skiers who come here.
There is a vast amount of off piest skiing to be done as well for those who want the challenge.
I've skiied a good few resorts and do find myself comparing to la plagne just because of how well it's looked after and also because of the sheer volume of skiing to be done.
Well worth coming here if you can

It was fantastic. This was our first time at La Plagne. It was easily accessible by snow, foot or bus to each of the resorts. It was very family friendly and had great blue runs for our daughter to practice her skiing on!
We will be back as we didn't get to do some of the off slope activities so still plenty to explore for next time!

It's the 2nd time here for my husband and I. We visited 5 years ago. The villages are all a bit different but It's a massive area with some great skiing. It has something for everyone.
Valerie Robinson — Google review
I spent the last week in March 2024 here. Was excellent. It's a group of small villages spread out over the mountain and all connected via lifts or buses.
The slopes themselves were massive, could easily spend a week exploring the mountain and never take the same run twice. It's geared more towards skiers, and I do wish there was some more green runs to just play around in and slow things down but it's not a deal breaker.
Nightlife is spread out across the villages and it's a couple bars that see most of the action. Nothing crazy.
Supermarkets do have some insane prices given the remote nature of the resort.
Lots of people take their dogs and there always playing in the snow which I love to see.
Great place overall.

La Plagne ski resort in France is an absolute gem! I recently had the pleasure of visiting this winter wonderland, and I was blown away by the quality of the slopes, the stunning scenery, and the friendly staff.
Firstly, the skiing experience at La Plagne is simply unparalleled. With over 225km of ski runs, there is something for everyone, from gentle beginner slopes to challenging black runs for the more advanced skiers. The slopes are impeccably maintained, with plenty of snowmaking machines ensuring that there is always a good base, even in warmer weather. The lifts are also modern and efficient, meaning that there are never long queues or waiting times.
Secondly, the scenery at La Plagne is absolutely breathtaking. Nestled in the heart of the French Alps, the resort offers stunning views of snow-capped mountains, glaciers, and pine forests. Whether you're skiing down the slopes or enjoying a hot chocolate in one of the many cozy mountain cafes, you'll feel like you're in a winter wonderland.
Finally, I have to mention the staff at La Plagne, who truly went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable. From the friendly ski instructors to the helpful hotel staff, everyone was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. It's clear that they take great pride in their work and in providing the best possible experience for their guests.
Overall, I can't recommend La Plagne ski resort highly enough. Whether you're an experienced skier or a first-timer, you'll love the stunning slopes, breathtaking scenery, and friendly atmosphere of this amazing resort.

Good resort, quite big so plenty to do. Lots of restaurants around as well so you won't go hungry. Lifts are good though none have covers for when it's super cold but that's not too much of a problem. A few nice slopes for beginners but quite a few of the blues are also quite steep.
Kate Busby — Google review
Fantastic ski resort with a wide variety of runs for all ski levels. Never had to wait too long for a lift, and runs were well groomed and sign posted.
Freddie Hemingway — Google review
Lovely ski area which is huge if you include the linked Les Arcs. Lots of nice restaurants and a very wide range of pistes.
There is a problem with queues at pinch points like Plagne Bellacott and 1800 when the ski schools leave and at the end of the day when everyone is trying to get home.
Jeff Bulled — Google review
Fantastic week of skiing, luckily perfectly timed. High enough for snow sure and even on Xmas day only waited 15min for lift.
Average meal with drinks 30-40 euro.

First time skiing, and this ski resort is amazing. La plagne bellecote is high up, which means you wake up to snow outside your apartment. There are many runs from bellecote and you can also go into other la plagne villages for more runs!

Great ski resort especially for families. We were there in xmas week and we had great time. The snow quality was very good. There are many pistes for different levels and they all end at the same spot. There are many options for cafe and restaurants at the top and bottom of the mountains. There is an indoor galeri/shopping center very convenient for eating, drinking, shopping in the evenings. It also includes a cinema, ice skating area. In every 15 minutes there is a free bus makes it easy to move around la Plagne.
I like to go to spa in general and when I got to Briancon I was really thinking it would be so nice to have a spa with a view over the snowny mountains and this place was exactly what I was imagining and more. For just ~20€ (2h) you have access to the ground floor which is already good in my opinion - you can go outside to the pool with warm water and a splendid view over the mountains; you also have one turkish bath, a pool with music underwater, and a roman experience (1 ice water pool, 1 medium cool water and 1 hot water pool), and some warm marble stone beds (one of my favourite there). If you want to access both the 1st and 2nd floor you pay instead 40€ (4h) and there you have a jacuzzi outside with a view over the mountains, 4 sauna, 2 turkish bath and a small waterfall with super hot water.
Daniela D — Google review
If you are looking for somewhere to relax after a long day of skiing then this is not the place. There doesn't seem to be any limit to the capacity of the place and when we visited the place was overrun with shouting children and adults.
The actual waters are fairly tepid and barely warm enough to support being able to go into the outside pool for long. The three roman baths are all pretty similar in temperature (~30C) and unremarkable.
If you do choose to go, make sure you get the extra ticket for "Romano Irelandaise" access, this is adults only and allows access to the only saunas in the facility which you can't get to with the baths only ticket.
Timothy West — Google review
Our experience was marred by a dreadful reception. Despite the warm assistance of the receptionists, the management exhibited no compassion or understanding. There were no provisions for accommodating sick, disabled, or injured guests. To our surprise, we were advised to either leave our friend alone outside for 2 hours due to the bar's closure or pay a full-price ticket, which would allow him to stand in the baths without the chance to swim. Shockingly, they chose to lose 11 customers rather than offer a discount for our friend.
Roy Aghnatios — Google review
Very enjoyable water and exceptional view on mountains. But sauna at only 60 degrees and hammam not very warm.
You need to strictly respect timing inside, either 2 hours or 3 hours.
After ski time, it is better to make a booking if you want to secure your entry.

Our visit to Les Grands Bains du Monêtier was a series of unpleasant surprises. We paid the entrance fee, only to be told that we must buy their specific swimwear without a valid explanation, feeling more like a scam than a policy.
Unexpectedly, we also had to rent towels, a detail conveniently omitted until our arrival. The place was not only overcrowded but dirty as well; the showers were clogged with hair, making it a distressing sight.
To add to our discomfort, walking around without flip-flops was enforced, exposing our feet to unhygienic conditions. Overall, our experience was a combination of deceptive practices, poor cleanliness, and discomfort. We advise others to reconsider visiting this establishment.
Ps - the view from the pool was pretty good though.

Basic facilities, below average service and rather old building. There is a huge scam allowing only lycra swimsuits and nothing else! No lycra swimsuit, you will have to pay another 20 euros to buy one and get in.... Ridiculous policy as an excuse to make extra money.

Great place to relax and enjoy the mountain view, you have a choice of several swimming pools + steam, sauna, super hot, medium and super cold bathtubs, the best is the jacuzzi with open view to the snowy mountains (if you come during winter). The changing rooms & showers are pretty basic.

Dear Les Grands Bains du Monêtier,
We had been looking forward to a relaxing day at your spa for weeks. We had made a reservation and were excited to unwind and enjoy some much-needed pampering.
However, our experience at your spa was not as we had hoped. When we arrived, it took us 30 minutes to find a parking spot. We were already running late for our appointment and were feeling stressed out.
When we finally made it to the spa, we had to wait at least 30 minutes in the queue before we could be enter. Also we had learned we needed to buy mens swimwear, but not told the price of those in advance.
We tried calling the spa to ask if we could move our appointment or get a refund, but the phone went straight to voicemail. We were frustrated and felt like we had wasted our time and money, 46 euros for two people.
Feeling disappointed and frustrated, we left.
We understand that things don't always go as planned, but we feel that it is not too much to ask for a refund when the service could not be provided as promised. We hope that you will take our feedback into consideration and work to improve the customer experience at your spa.
Sincerely,

We’ve been here multiple times since it opened and love the different rooms and pools but it is too crowded now. It feels like more people are allowed in than previously and we’ve been unable to get into the sauna/jacuzzi/jets which was disappointing because for the cost I want more than simply bobbing around in a pool.
Today there was a school trip of around 20 teens who hung around together, dive bombing and yelling in the caldarium. Someone complained and an attendant spoke to them but they continued. Maybe a policy of maximum group sizes would help?

We have travelled 80 kilometers here after our ski holidays and pre booked with my wife only to be stopped by two pool side swim suit police within minutes of entering and pointed to an icon on a plaquette that shows no normal swim shorts for men allowed.
When asked why no member of staff could speak any English to give an explanation, the only thing I figured is that they wanted to sell me overpriced Speedos which I am not comfortable wearing anyhow, so I had to leave my wife behind and now I am writing this review sitting in the carpark with no refund even offered of my ticket!!
How despiteful really. At no point this made up rule is displayed on their website or while booking tickets!

For us it was too mutch of a swimming pool and too little wellness. A lot of noise, even in the dedicated silent areas. The resting stones were just really weird. We wern't alow to bring towels with us in the pool area so that wasn't a comfortable rest.

The place is nice, but organization terrible. There is always a huge queue to the entrance as it takes 5-10min to let anyone in, even with a reservation and already paid.
Inside, there are noodles and desks to help those not being able to swim, but they are not allowed for kids, even during kid hours - ridiculous. Also the once-per-week 'kid time' is organized in a very minimalistic way comparing to other swimming pools, plus doors wide open in winter to make sure the air is freezing cold.
On top oof that the reservations require providing tons of data for no reason. I guess some change in management would be useful.

Spent a few hours here on an afternoon off skiing and it helped the aching muscles. It was very busy but still felt relaxed. Definitely worth a visit if in the area. We got the bus over from Briançon at the other end of the valley and it was an easy trip

Definitely not a spa. Crowded pools even in a Monday, queues for check-in (with prior registration), queues for towels, basic facilities and lots of children jumping, screaming, splashing water everywhere. It’s more like a public pool. If you’re looking for a place to relax I would highly recommend anywhere else. The only highlight is the view, but it’s not worth it.
Gregory B. — Google review
Overcrowded. At least 25-50% over capacity in my opinion.
Queues for almost every room. Waiting for someone to exit before you could enter for sauna, steam room or cold immersion.
More saunas upstairs but it's an extra fee.
Really not enough space or available facilities for the number of people in the establishment.
Queues for the showers, no soap in the dispensers and had to queue again for changing rooms.
I would describe this place as more like a local paddling pool rather than a spa. Noisy, crowded and you can't actually relax where you want and when you want.
I would have preferred it if my booking had not been accepted

Lovely baths! Not particularly luxurious, but very relaxing and pretty good value (€23 for 2 hours or €32 for 3 hours)

Tignes is a renowned ski resort with excellent skiing facilities and easy access to nearby resorts and amenities through reliable public transportation links. It features a funicular that takes visitors to a massive ski area, along with various options for eateries, hotels, shops, and even a lagoon. The ski area provides ample snow cover even in April, ensuring enjoyable skiing experiences for visitors of all skill levels. However, there are some outdated ski lifts that need replacing to improve the overall impression of the resort.
For the fourth time in this ski resort. Always plenty of snow, always nice weather !!! A place to return to. Remark, to replace a couple of old ski lifts which still spoils the impression a bit.
Marko Markovic — Google review
Having been to the relatively nearby Les Trois Vallées, I can say Tignes is comparable in many ways and offering a ski experience on par with its more premium cousin.
The resort boasts a large piste playground stretching over several key areas from the family-friendly Tignes (Le Lac, Val Claret, 1800) to the more advanced terrain of Val d'Isère with a wide range of pistes for different skill levels. Runs are great as they're groomed daily and the slopes receive tons of powder. Weather conditions can vary drastically throughout the week but we experienced some of the best conditions during our time with lots of bluebird days. And just as you think the snow's getting a little packed, fresh snow gets dumped to refresh the pistes. The resort is generally well-connected, allowing you to easily reach new areas to explore - otherwise, they have frequent shuttle buses that go between major stops around the resort.
The town is very walkable and has a decent range of dining options both on and off piste throughout the day and to kick back après ski.
Overall, it's a great resort with lots to offer for beginners and experts alike!

Direct access to slopes to a very large ski domein, a lot of snow, skiers are civilized, good to exquisite food on the restaurants. The landscape is spectacular. Great position just below Grande Motte, restaurant food good and surprisingly not overly expensive. The Red Setter dog wandering around with "feed me" eyes was so lovely.
The world's longest, this Tibetan bridge is suspended high in the air amid a scenic mountain valley.
Great fun and best value for money I have experienced for a long time. Sure you should not be afraid of hights 😉. The via Ferrata was my personal challenge but manageable. Sometimes I felt a little extra leg length would have been helpful ( I am 1.63m) but the last leg was rewarding and much easier than the entrance. However the judgement of a ferrata can be quite personal. I would definitely do it again 😁. Nice and friendly staff.

This place is quite far away from anyplace and one might pay more for road and tunnel tolls than for the attraction itself but the experience is worth the trouble, just to tick it off the bucket list. Briançon town with its vauban made a good base to be able to reach here early in the day ( they open at 9 am) and Frejus tunnel had no delays at noon to go through after finishing up at the Ponte Tibetano. Coming after 10 am may resulting waiting for long queues of people to pass in front diminishing the view and the enjoyment. The promotional video on the website does not show the slopy loose gravel paths that one has to walk through to reach the bridges. Good hiking shoes recommended. There is a safety briefing at the beginning and one gets to practice how to clip and unclip the double harness to the metal ropes . Minimum height of 120 cm to go on the bridges but preferably over 140 cm to go on the via ferrata which looked indeed tough and we couldnt do as our child was only 130 cm. In any case not suited for anyone with fear of heights or those with balance issues. Clean toilets available near the ticket/reception counter for use at beginning or end of the walk. Large free parking. And the gorge is beautiful and relatively cool even in hot weather.

An extraordinary experience! Especially for me who is afraid of heights. I thought I would back out but the staff were so nice and helpful. I was with friends and they had so much fun. I recommend going to the ferrata since that's the best part for me. Will definitely come back next year! Great for beginners like us!

Fenestrelle is a stunning mountain fortress constructed by the 18th-century dukes of Savoy to protect the approaches to Turin. The area surrounding it, including picturesque villages like Barolo, Barbaresco, and Serralunga d'Alba, as well as mountain villages such as Vogogna and Bardonecchia, offer architectural and naturalistic charm. Additionally, the region boasts postcard-perfect villages on lakes Maggiore and D'Orta.
To be honest, so far this has been one of my favourite places of all time, a walk of 3 hours was really worth it. From all the places in Italy, I might say that this is 10/10, the service was amazing and the people were really nice!
Not just that, but the walk was guided by one of the nicest staff ever, even if it was kinda hard to get on the top, it was worth it and very cheap!
For all the people that love exploring new places, with the best staff, and amazing guide, this is the perfect place for you!

Looks nice, but everything is currently closed down due to Corona or something. There where no information available, so you could only get to the first courtyard and Walk around. Took 5-10 minutes to see everything. Spend about 45 minutes there, to take some photos, walk around the Place 3 times to see if there was some hidden path leading to the rest or if it was indeed closed everything.

Planned the 3hours visit but encountered some troubleshooting, so the visit was 2hours long. It did not feel like we missed anything out of the experience as it was very instructional and fun. The guides are extremely knowledgeable and good at entertaining the crowd, especially when making the tour more interactive (for children and adults). The fortress is on a beautiful location and we took many nice pictures of ourselves and the panorama. it really feels like traveling back to the past and it made us very curious to do more tours of the place and the valley!! 10/10 recommended for both nationals and internationals.

Absolutely fantastic place. Fortress is really magnificent. After seeing it, probably any castle in the world will be able to impress me so much. Fortress is around 80km from turin and trust me it is really worth to rent the car and drive there. The only thing worth noting is that to truly see the fortress it is necessarry to participate in guided tour which starts around 9 a.m. or 3 p.m. Guided tour lasts 3 hours or 7 hours (only starting on the morning) and trust me it is worth every $ (especially when it is so cheap compared to much inferior and more popular places)
Fortress was so fantastic that we joined guided tour in italian language (we don't speak nor understand italian :) ) just to explore it. Through 3 hours with our guide Gian (i hope i remembered correctly :D ) we were able to explore around the 30-40% of whole fortress. Even though tour was in italian Gian did great job in explaining and describing some things in english and thanks to him it was really fascinating experience :)
I recommend visiting the fortress very much. Only thing that I regret is that I did not know about the tours before coming there and I have missed the opportunity of seeing the top fort of the fortress, However thanks to that I have a reason to come back there in future which i ceirtanly will :)
Also restaurant in the fortress have nice selection of very tasty piemont most traditional dishes.
And all of this.... without enormous crowds of tourists from all over europe like in most popular italian cities. During our visit through whole day maybe we seen 50 people max....all of them from Italy :)

I have been in Italy before and to this time it is the best thing i have seen there :)

Not the sort of place you can just show up and visit. You need to be part of a guided tour and it was a mystery to us how you booked on to these, in the appropriate language. Opening hours don't seem right. Bring cash as paying by card was hard. When we finally did manage to get onto a tour, the buildings were interesting but we enjoyed being outside most.
Mike C — Google review
Only 3 stars because it is not worth to visit if you have children. There is nothing of interest for them. You can only enter the central place, but it was not allowed to have even the short self-guided 40min tour, which is still explained in the info paper handed out at the information desk. Also the sign at the closed gate (leading to the upper area of the fortress) is stating that one can enter for a small fee (which is probably reffering to the self-guided tour). But at least at that day when we visit the place, one could only see more of the fortress if you book either the 3hr or 7hr tour.

I've done the 3h tour today and it was magnificent. The natural landscape is just breathtaking, I can't believe this place is so little advertised. I also don't have enough words to praise our tour guide,Gian. He's so knowledgeable, calm and you can see he loves what he does by the way he passionately talks about this fortification. I recommend it 100%.

I had the whole day reserved for the Fenestrelle while travelling through Piedmont. Once we got there it turned out that for some reason the ticket office is closed in the different time slot than presented on the Fort's website. It means that we spent almost 1,5h waiting for the office to be open. The whole waiting was in vain, because the only way to have a tour in English was to book group tour for at least 10 people in advance. It was a huge disapoinment to wait that long only to find out that a big tourist attraction does not offer at least audio guide. The only path that we were offered (ticket office worker assured us that is Engslish-friendly) was a path that did not have any word written in English - all posters and materials were written in Italian. According to the ticket office worker the path will take us 30 minutes to complete, but in reality it was... 7 minutes.
To not end up this review all whiny and pettish, the Fort looks incredible while looking at the high-level perspective shots. I believe that it is a wonderful expierence to actually complete the route.

Gran Paradiso National Park is a natural park located in the Graian Alps, between Aosta Valley and Piedmont regions of north-west Italy. The park offers hiking paths that take visitors to summits with stunning views of the valley below. This is a perfect hike if you want to experience beautiful nature while spending some time outdoors. Cascate di Lillaz is an alpine waterfall consisting of three levels, and it's a popular spot for winter ice climbing. The area offers gentle trails suitable for a leisurely stroll, with various paths leading to the waterfall. While the hike provides stunning views, it can be challenging, especially in winter conditions where proper hiking gear is necessary. During dry seasons, the water levels may be affected. However, on hot summer days, visitors can enjoy the refreshing water streams along the way.
Beautiful cascade. You can just view at the bottom but there's a fantastic walk up the side and beyond alongside a lovely river through alpine meadows
Kathryn Barrow — Google review
The walk and cascades are very poplar and quite busy along the path at times. The hike up is short but steep, rocky and uneven. Nice cascades but only visit if it’s on the way to somewhere or if you have a lot of time to kill.
Rob Collins — Google review
It was a nice stroll around the Lillaz small town and the park, before getting to the waterfall. The waterfall hike had several paths. If you like hiking and taking an easier hike trail, this could be for you. If you're new, you could face some challenges (if you have vertigo, you can just enjoy the park without the hike).
Unfortunately when we were there, the drought had effected the water levels, hence the low level of water. There are several restaurants in the town that you could dine in before or after your hike/walk. Parkings (free and paid) are available before entering the town.

What a beautiful place to hike! We stopped here on our way from Turin to Courmayeur and could’ve stayed all day! Well manicured and marked trails and so many beautiful waterfalls! Plenty of free parking near the trailheads.

Absolutely stunning views but need to be prepared with full on hiking gear for winter conditions. We were a little over optimistic and spent almost 5 hours trying to get along the ominously deep snow and then down to incredibly icy and slippery decent whereby we both feel quite hard on countless occasions. Overall took us 8 hours to complete with the finish line being in complete darkness with only our phone flashlights to guide us. Probably very naive but want to make sure others do not make the same mistake due to the very easy climb up which then turns into a completely different scenario.

It is such a lovely place to come to visit. It does not have much animals like the other zoo but it has a pool in the zoo. I think about 1 or 2 hours , you can visit all the zoo.
It cost about 25€ to visit the zoo but you can try to find some discount promotion. You need to pay extra 7€ per person to go in the pool, and 3 euro for locker. The pool is not that big so i recommend not to come on the weekend. The weekend will have so many people.
The super nice thing about this zoo is you can swim and see hippo and penguin next to the pool.

It has been my dream to see my favorite sports team since I was a young kid. My wife and I were able to finally make that dream come true. Even better I got to do it with my son. They take security very seriously and I appreciate that. The food outside the stadium is top notch, inside is iffy at best. Juventus played a bit mediocre but that is not the stadium's fault. The experience was everything I hoped for. My son and I got matching jerseys. Also we really liked the city of Turin. Very minimal tourism which was a great change of pace from the other places we visited.

Great stadium, probably one of the most modern stadiums in Italy. Stadium tour is extremely rushed and only in Italian. You have to buy a separate handheld audio guide if you want to listen in English/French/Spanish for €3 and it isn’t that informative in regards to Juventus’ history. Tour is timed and only a few tours per day. Limited opportunities for photos and constantly rushed by tour guides. Would recommend if a Juventus fan, otherwise wouldnt

Today, I visited Juventus for the first time. The stadium was truly beautiful and easily accessible by public transport. There are also ample parking spaces around the stadium and plenty of dining options. However, it took quite a while to enter the stadium; you pass through 3-4 checkpoints before gaining access. The stadium itself was stunning both inside and out. Unfortunately, I found myself on the first row, which hindered my view due to a high glass wall. That was a significant drawback. Nonetheless, overall, it was fine.

Watched Juventus v Fiorentina.
The stadium was relatively new, which is very rare among Italian stadiums (good organisation, management, very clean and safe.
The fact that there were many parents, children and women spectators further emphasises the safety aspect.
If you go by car, it is advisable to book a parking space in advance, the gates usually open two hours before kick-off, but even when I arrived two and a half hours before, the parking spaces were already full, which is typical of Italy's relaxed atmosphere.
There are stands outside the stadium where you can get a quick food, and inside the stadium you can buy drinks and chips (cash or card).
Team buses with players enter through Gate A (between G and B), where it is possible to see the buses up close.

Been dreaming to visit this iconic stadium since i was in elementary school, and finally visited this stadium this year while im in college. Must be worth it to visit, but the stadium tour is in Italy and the museum is s huge investment especially for Juventus fans

I have been a Juventus fan all my life. A visit to Allianz stadium has been on my bucket list forever. We finally got to travel to Torino during our recent Eurooean vacation, and it was everything I expected and more. It is a fantastic structure and the home to my favorite football team. It was a very emotional guided tour, especially because we got to see the entire facility, including the locker rooms and all the other insider details. We also visited the Juventus museum! I relived many memories through my years of following them. 5 stars does not really do justice! It is highly recommended for all soccer fans, particularly for Juventus lovers.

Piazza San Carlo is a beautiful 17th-century baroque city plaza in the heart of Turin, Italy. It is popular for its impressive architecture and stunning setting at the centre of the city. The square is home to two famous churches - Chiesa di San Carlo and Santa Cristina - as well as several cafes and restaurants.
The most beautiful Piazza in Turin. Not too large but not too small, with a lovely elegant equestrian statue in the center. Bordered by lovely arcaded shops and cafes in lovely neo-classical architecture, and two churches at one end and the glamorous Via Roma at the other. In the center of town it is a must visit when exploring the city!

History and modernity seamlessly blend in Piazza San Carlo is the beating heart of Turin. Perfect to admire the grandeur of the twin churches and the iconic equestrian statue at the center of the square. It's the perfect spot for people-watching, sipping coffee at one of the cafes, or admiring the architecture in a vibrant atmosphere.

"Il salotto di Torino" or "Torino's lounge or drawing room", as Torinesi like to say. It's the vibrant and elegant square is the very center of the city. Less formal than Piazza Castello and the Piazzetta Reale, is the ideal place for a stroll or a break in one of the several historic cafes under its porticos.

This main square is a short walk from the Torino train station. It’s quite magnificent and large and plenty to see all the way around the square. When you walk in from via Roma and walk along the left side of the piazza towards the palazzo Reale, on the sidewalk, do not miss to walk by the ‘spin over’ the young raging bull for good luck! There is a lot of history surrounding this piazza and the area, going back several centuries. It’s a lovely place to visit, plenty of cafes and eateries. This piazza is also the happening place of major public events in Torino.

We came here on a day trip from Milano to see the match between Juventus and maccabi Haifa in the champions League.
The maccabi Haifa fans gathered a cheering parade before the match from the nearby plazza to the location where the buses were waiting to take us to the stadium.
On a regular basis this is the pedestrian street with shops on both sides.

It's one of the main city squares in Turin, Italy. It was laid out in the 16th and 17th century and is an example of Baroque style. Definitely worth to visit such a beautiful place if you will be in this gorgeous City in Italy. And you should check both Churches which is close by and very beautiful and interesting and unique!

The Egyptian Museum in Turin is one of the world's most important museums of ancient Egyptian art and culture. The museum was founded in 1824, from the collection of artefacts collected by French General Consul Bernardino Drovetti while he was stationed in Egypt. Today, the museum incorporates interactive and immersive displays which showcase some of the museum's most prized artifacts, including a statue of Ramses II and a vast papyrus collection.
What a place woaw! You are completely inside the Egyptian history. Visiting the museum gives you more input into what you really can visit and research about Egyptian. The historian and researchers have done an incredible job to remodel many things and conserve them in the museum. A day of visit won't be enough to really enjoy each single piece

Mind blowing collection. Would take multiple visits to take it all in and fully appreciate all on offer. Go early so you have plenty of time to experience it all. Slots for entry are timed so best to purchase tickets in advance. Excellent student discounts so remember your card if you have one!

The review is from an Egyptian tourist in Torino visiting his own Country treasures 😅.
Well the museum is very well designed and everything was very smooth from the entrance to buying a ticket for 18 Euro, to present my own identity to reserve a locker for free to store my bag.
Visiting the museum was easy as there is a well designed path to follow from top to bottom following the exact Timeline.
Lots of ancient Egyptian goods and monument that I was amazed to find it in Italy due to the Italian excavation of the Italians in egypt while presenting lots of photos for Egyptian workers digging and excavating their own heritage to be presented later on in another country, that felt weird.
I'll still give the Museum a well 5 stars away from my political opinion.
Loved that most of the explanation cards have English, Italian and Arabic. 👌
And yes it's a must visit.

We spent about 4 hours going through the various levels and exhibits. You must purchase your tickets online. I recommend booking in advance by a few days as the museum does sell out a week or more in advance in weekends, during busy season week also sellout on week days.
Stunning collection and decent free audio guide (download and listen on your phone.)

The museum is much larger and more extensive than expected! Never seen so many mummies in one place. You could spend hours here but we did get a bit tired after about 90mins. The interior looks well maintained and the staff are helpful. Definitely worth a visit!
Annabel Tan — Google review
Museum was really amazing! We spent 6 hours there and didn’t notice time flying by. The museum displays mummies (people and animals - even a crocodile!), graves, papyrus and much more. There are information spots describing (in Italian and English) everything one would like to learn about Egyptian culture. There is a small cafeteria for those who want to have a snack (food is good and not overpriced). There is also a gift shop which is surprisingly small - we bought our souvenirs elsewhere in downtown.

Absolutely mind-blowing experience for all history buffs.
A story of love, death, art, fun, passion and life itself. Very tastefully and artfully presented. Great for all ages and you can quickly see everything in about an hour, but you can also spend nearly the whole day there and not quite see everything too ;) Your choice!
Andrey Lipattsev — Google review
Fantastic museum, with unique pieces exposed in a perfect way. Some interactive areas are amazing. Better to buy the ticket in advance online. There are some lockers for leaving jackets and backpacks. The bar is too small and crowded. Average time for the visit 3 hrs, if you spend a bit of time in every floor. Super recommended

Lots to see. lots to learn about how all these artifacts made their way to turin and the agreements made. My favorite part was finding the 3 sections of coffins and the sculpture of the hippo/ crocodile that guarded the houses of babies. You need a lot of time.

If you like Egyptian history, you will love this place. There are a lot of things to see and visit in the museum. You have all their rituals and you can even enter the tomb of a pharaoh. It took us about 3 hours to go through the whole museum, but even so we didn't have enough time to read all the explanations for all the exhibits
ALEXANDRA ANDRIES — Google review
A nice museum with alot of items. It's a bit tricky to know if you've seen everything because there's no clear path to follow, but on the other hand most things are alike so it doesn't matter so much.
You get stunned by history and it's amazing how good some things are preserved but the museum is very large and in the end it gets a bit boring for us that not are enthusiasts.
Petter Storm Jonasson — Google review
Great experience with a lot of egyptian icons and history, many historical pieces.
The museum is neat and well designed, and needs a two hours at least.
Fast entry, 18 euros for adult and free for child.
Restaurant and coffee area for rest after walking.

As a fan of history, and Egypt, this place gives you the chills.
A superb blue eyes gentleman, dark hair, tall and slim - invites you inside of the museum - he is just adorable!!
There is a small queue at the tickets office, but it is expected, under 5 minutes. You have a spot for your clothes/bags, so do not worry about that.
Honestly, a superb experience. Turin has done a lot of excavation in the past in Egypt, so they have a tone of artefacts.
Tickets were €18 per person, and I bought them on the spot, on a Saturday. It wasn’t very busy, but still a good amount of people. Was it worth it? Hundred percent!
Has 4 floors (starts at -1) and over 14 rooms for you to explore.
It took me over 1.5 hrs to get through it, but I have not read every single bit of piece that’s in there. If you want to read every bit, get ready for little over 4 hours!!!
There is a coffee shop in there, brilliant choice of sandwiches and drinks; prices were decent too.
You can take some audio devices to explain things around the place, so that’s a good option too.
Overall, 10/10 for Egypt and history lovers.

A museum with a lot of exhibits. it is worth booking at least 3-4 hours for sightseeing. All very interesting. It's a pity that there were no descriptions in English everywhere. It is worth taking a phone and headphones, because on the website you can listen to recordings explaining some of the exhibits. It is often crowded, so you have to keep that in mind. I recommend!
Karol T — Google review
This is an impressive collection with a very modern style of curating. For enjoying a bit of everything, you will need a good two hours and plenty of reading in order to make sense of the importance of what is being displayed. An extra interest part is the history of why and how Turin ended up with such an enormous and essential collection of Egyptian art. The galleries are very busy, especially with endless streams of schoolchildren admiring the mummies.
Nikos Parastatidis — Google review
This is one of the best museums about the ancient Egyptian civilization in the world, probably the second after the one of Cairo. It is full of important artefacts and it should take a full day to see everything.
I recommend booking your tickets in advance and be punctual on the day of your visit. The museum is almost always crowded.
5 stars, a must visit if you are in Torino.
d0rian7 — Google review
This is a lovely museum with an exhaustive collection. I now understand why Egypt is so much dessert because it seems that the ancients, and for thousands of years, used up all the soil for clay ink wells, vessels, lamps and uncountable numbers of bits and pieces.
It is well laid out and easily navigated. There are elevators, escalators and lockers. (One must leave an ID at the coat check for the key). Audio guides are available. Photography is allowed.
My entry was included in the Turino Card, (which was worth it), and we reserved a day and time. (I arrived an hour early and was able to enter, it was not a crowded day and a Monday--->). They are open on Mondays which is a good day as other museums and palaces are closed.

I was mesmerised by the Egyptian Museum’s vast and vivid displays of ancient Egyptian art and artifacts. The museum, which is the world’s oldest dedicated to Egyptian culture, offered a profound glimpse into the lives of pharaohs and the common people through its extensive collection. The layout of the museum facilitated a seamless journey through different eras of Egyptian history, making each exhibit come alive with stories from the past.
Unfortunately, the museum’s free WiFi was not functioning during my visit. This was particularly inconvenient in the basement, where there’s no cell reception either, making it impossible to use the free audio guide on my phone. Despite this, the richness of the museum’s offerings—from the striking statue of Ramesses II to the intricate tomb relics—ensured that the experience remained unforgettable.
The Egyptian Museum in Turin is a must-visit for anyone looking to delve into the magnificence of ancient Egypt.

Very interesting place in Torino. It should be the biggest egyptian museum in Europe. If you would read text next every monument, you would be there 6 hours. The whole visit took me 3 hours.

A really unique and world famous collection, definitely worth visiting. Tickets must be booked in advance, online and an audio guide is available via app or browser on your own mobile phone so it is highly advised to take earphones with you. Internet connectivity is sketchy though so in some areas the audio guide won't work. If you can afford to, book a guided tour, as there is an overwhelming number of artifacts and way too little written about them.
Luca Massaro — Google review
Great museum with extensive collection of beautiful Egyptian artifacts and excavations. Very interesting to learn about the links between Turin and Egypt, and the history of the Egyptian antiquities trade. Plan to spend at least 1.5-2 hours here.
Duong Tran — Google review
Amazing museum about ancient Egypt, lots of mummies and human remains, magnificent sarcophagi, but they allow too many visitors at the same time. Every Rome was extremely crowded, especially with big groups of guided tours, making it truly difficult to enjoy the exhibitions and take one's time.
The website with audio-guide is a great idea, but they should add the option to accelerate the audio as they tend to talk quite slowly, and as the museum is very crowded, we had to forward and didn't have time to listen to the entirety of each chapter.
Lisa Marie — Google review
We visited this museum on a Sunday; understandably, it was quite crowded.
We had booked tickets online the previous day. That said, there was a short wait of around 20 mins to get our tickets validated and enter the museum.
The museum is a must visit. It boasts a wide variety of archaeological finds from Egypt. Detailed explanations about each exhibit help visitors gain a deep understanding of Egyption culture and traditions. There also is abundant information about the connection between the Egyptians and the Savoys and how this museum came to be. All in all, a very enlightening experience.
This is not a place that can be put under a 'quick visit' category. Make sure you have at least 2.5 to 3 hours to spare. The true value of this museum lies in understanding the history behind each exhibit, so you will have to spend some time reading the short explanations provided or listening to the audio guide which you can connect to and play on your phone. Guided tours are available too, which probably come at additional costs. We were happy to make do with the write-ups and audio guides, which were also available in English.
This museum can be visited for free with the Piemonte pass.

The museum is basically hollow so there is a large staircase that takes you up several floors and all the Tim Burton art is displayed on the walls for you to see. We also saw a wonderful exhibit on the history of cinematography. Also worth some of your time.

Totally a must-see for Turin! Both the cinema museum and the top of the Mole was great. Be prepared to spend few hours in the museum, it is really interesting. Be aware of the line if you don’t buy the tickets online. So consider to buy them earlier to skip the line.

Almost didn’t go because I was sleepy, so glad I did!!! Wonderful sights of Torino, and the glass elevator is super cool!!! I loved that the elevator attendant was dressed as Willy Wonka!!
A hidden gem in Piemonte. The castle Castello della Manta is a wonderful little castle near Cuneo (about half an hour drive). The castle is a beautiful building atop a hill over the small comune of Manta next to the city of Salluzo. The eldest parts date back to the 13th century, but various inhabitants have added spaces. It has a cute court yard, an impressive kitchen, a spacious gallery and salon, a nice library… The most impressive room is the grand hall with an incredible sequence of medieval fresco’s depicting nine worthy kings and nine worthy women leaders, together with a fountain of youth setting, an astounding gem in non-religious early 15th century art, in very good condition. This wall art by itself already makes the trip worth the effort for anyone appreciating medieval art and culture. The castle has a small church with impressive frescoes as well. The castle stands within a beautiful garden. You can ride up and park very near the entrance, or park further down and walk up. The staff is very friendly and you can buy drinks to. There is a small gift shop. I recommend this for anyone who is near Cuneo and looking for an interesting, cultural outing. Best to make a reservation.

It is a very attractive castle, mix of structures from different times which could still be observed by the split on the wall and the thickness of different wall. Very impressive on the semi fresh paint on 600th hall that rarely seen in the wall. The restrictions undergoing demonstrate how the architectors had thought to use painting in marble effect instead of using real marble, because the lower part where there was kitchen had the colonum too week to hold heavy marble.... Worth to take a visit the garden and the church next to it too.

Beautiful medieval castle, we particularly loved the frescoes and the views from the windows. Definitely worth a visit!

There is a very good reason that this castle is so highly regarded for its frescoes. They are stunning!

We walked from Saluzzo to San Cristina, and the Castello proved a worthwhile detour. It’s one of several grand old houses in this part of Piedmont, and probably my favourite among the ones we visited. The frescos were particularly fascinating, and well preserved.

This castle definitely worth a visit, the tour is not that long, they have audio guide, ( you'll go on your own ) , the castle has a small garden at the front, wonderful frescoes still intact, they were restoring some areas when we visited the place.

Nice guided tour of part of the castle. Guide was professional and knowledgeable. At the end there is a gift shop. We bought marmalade and peppermint liquor.

Splendid Castle or in fact fortified manor house. You are going to find splendid Baronial Hall with the frescoes painted in 1420. This is another must see place at Saluzzo. Visitors are allowed to take non commercial photo without flash light and tripod.
The Castle of Racconigi, dating back to the 11th century, is a former royal summer palace located approximately 50 km from Turin. The castle boasts ornate decor, extensive parkland, and a large kitchen that visitors find fascinating. Although visits are only guided in Italian and assume knowledge of the Savoy family, the palace is still worth exploring. The grounds provide a stunning backdrop for this historical and artistic treasure.
Beautiful palace but it should be restored very soon...A lot damaged ceilings by water and most of the tapestries and silk covered furniture is damaged, too.

They demand some kind of old fashioned reservation through email and didn’t let me go inside without it even then there was no one else waiting. Quite ridiculous. At least they could introduce online ticket system not playing with emails like 20 years ago!

Absolutely magnificent place. Huge historical and artistic value. Unfortunately it is being left without the mantainance it deserves.

Magnificent exterior and beautiful interior rooms with different themes. Multiple chambers with different Chinese art, galleries with portraits and other diverse paintings, a billiard room, an authentic bathroom and huge kitchen in the basement. Room descriptions are only available in Italian though.

This former royal summer palace is easily reachable by train from Turin. Visits are only with a guide, only in Italian and assume visitors all know the various members of the Savoy family, but even if you can’t understand everything, the palace is still worth visiting - It certainly deserves more visitors.
On the regular tour, you visit the ground floor and kitchens. There are apparently special tours on certain days that include the bedrooms.
Sadly the park is currently closed, but it looked nice from the window.

If you come to Turin, for sure you should go and see the Summer Palace of Racconigi. It is situated approximately 50 km from Turin but it is one of the best castles to see. Big part of the castle passed under construction and it is really very nice to enter in and to hear the interesting and curiosity stories about the castle. There you can find maybe the most big Kitchen you have ever seen, you cannot even imagine, but I am sure you will like it and wish to come back again. Behind the castle there is one really big garden where you can go and relax after the tour in the castle. The price of visit is very low but it is worth seeing.
Racconigi and the castle is a place where you can see lots of stork every year. Four kilometers from the castle you can find the Center of Storks and Anatidae. In the center during all the years you can observe different kind of local and migrating birds.
Go there and you will be satisfied!

I can’t recommend Racconigi castle enough. As one of the House of Savoy’s favorite holiday homes, it still has an air of their presence and that of their staff. The grounds provide a stunning backdrop. My only recommendation is to go in the the warmer months when it’s a pleasure to stay outside and the castle itself isn’t too cold.
