How long is the drive from Yeosu to Jeju?
The direct drive from Yeosu to Jeju is 163 mi (263 km), and should have a drive time of 3 hrs 35 mins in normal traffic.
If you’re going on a road trip from Yeosu to Jeju, we did the research for you and compiled some great stops along the way — with top places to visit like Gakhwangjeon Hall and 오동도, or the ever-popular Jirisan National Park.
The top stops along the way from Yeosu to Jeju (with short detours) are Seongsan Ilchulbong, Manjanggul Lava Tube, and Suncheon Bay Nature Reserve. Other popular stops include Udo, Hamdeok Beach, and 오동도.
Jirisan National Park is a vast nature reserve that offers stunning views of picturesque mountains and diverse wildlife. It provides an ideal destination for hiking enthusiasts, with shelters available for overnight treks. The park's pristine beauty remains unspoiled, and its elevation ranges from 1600 to 1700 meters above sea level.
Jirisan is a massive, unforgiving, utterly brutal mountain to hike. And I loved every painstaking, and breathtaking moment of it. I unfortunately did not start at the beginning (miscommunication on my part) but somewhere in the middle which was Hadong village. The ascent to the trail as well as the ridge was challenging enough, but when you get to the peak, it gets darn near completely vertical. It's worth it though. Absolutely the best hike I have ever done!

The scenery of Jirisan National Park is breathtaking! It views are amazing, and it’s such a great place to go hiking! My friends and I did the full route for 4-day-long trip with 3 night in the shelters. It was an amazing experience, but also a little bit of a challenge, because we had to carry all our food in our backpacks during the whole trip, what accounted for around 7-10kg on our backs. But it was absolutely worth it!!! I do recommend it to anyone, even those who are not really into hiking, because this area can change your minds 😊💕

Odongdo is a picturesque island located near Yeosu Expo that can be accessed by a bridge. The island boasts of an observation deck that offers stunning views and is known for its beautiful camellia blooms and bamboo groves. Visitors can explore the well-built boardwalk around the island which takes about an hour to complete, with several viewpoints offering breathtaking vistas of the surrounding landscape. One can also visit the lighthouse or enjoy sunrise views from designated spots on the island.
A small island connected by a road that's perfect for a short hike. The walk towards the island is not long but you can also take a transport there.
The island is famous for blooming with with red camellia flowers. I was lucky enough to see the first few buds blooming. At the end of the hiking trail on the island, there is a cave which is known to be a home of a dragon.
There were clean toilets along the hike and shops to buy snacks as well.

Beautiful little island near Yeosu Expo. Connected to the mainland by a walkway. Takes about an hour to fully explore the island which has well built boardwalk. There are many viewpoints along the way. The views are good. There is a lighthouse but unfortunately it was closed when we visited. There is a sunrise view point as well. The place is also famous for colonies of camellia flowers found on the island.

Suncheon Drama filming
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Visited in February 2022. It is a really nice place and took lots of photos!
CL — Google review
What a photogenic place to visit! if you are a K-Drama lovers, this place is really recommended to visit with your friends and family.
Ari Bima Putra — Google review
Very interesting place, part of old village from Seoul has been displaced to this drama filming location. A good taste of what Korea looked like in the past...
Fr?d?ric Weber — Google review
Walking through the Suncheon Drama Filming Site was like stepping into a different world. The sets were incredibly detailed, transporting me to the places I've seen in my favorite dramas Pachinko.
As I strolled through the recreated streets, I could feel the history and charm of each era. From traditional houses to bustling market stalls, the attention to detail was impressive. I even found myself imagining scenes from the dramas that were filmed here.
The highlight was discovering the iconic spots where memorable scenes took place. Capturing those moments with my camera felt like I was preserving a piece of the dramas forever. Sharing these photos with fellow fans made me feel connected to a larger community who appreciated the magic of storytelling.
Exploring the Suncheon Drama Filming Site was not just a visit; it was a journey into the heart of Korean dramas. It made me realize the impact of these stories on our lives and how they bring people together across cultures. This experience left me with a deeper appreciation for the art of filmmaking and the power of imagination.

Beautiful park to go and see Korean drama set of yesteryears, and have a go to dress up as students. Estimate to spend around 2 to 3 hours to explore the location.
Juice Juice — Google review
Suncheon Drama Set is the third drama set I visited in Korea. Compared to the others, this is the place that precisely illustrate the lives of Korean ordinary people in the past the most. Although I haven’t seen all of the films which was filmed here, but I can imagine the busy atmosphere of the filming site with staffs and actors. Like anyone who visit here, I rented a kind of Korean school uniform of the 1970s-1980s, then walked around and took a lot of photos. During walking around, I found out that there also are some places selling old-days-foods such as dalgona(Korean sweet candy) and odeng (Korean fish cake),etc.. that you can try to enjoy the atmosphere here. The place I like most is Retro Music Room (Gogojang) which was considered as the bar or dance club of old days. In general, I loved this kind of traveling in Korea

Aqua Planet Yeosu is an aquarium featuring big fish and shark tanks, beluga whale shows, feeding demonstrations, and touch pools. The entrance fee is 59,000 won but there are occasional promotions for couples. The aquarium has various well-designed sections and shows that make the price worth it if visitors take their time to enjoy everything. Although some of the aquariums may be too small for bigger animals, overall it is a nice place to visit as a one-time experience.
I had an amazing experience at Yeosu Aqua Planet! The sheer variety of sea species on display is mind-blowing. From colorful fish to mesmerizing marine creatures, this place is a marine enthusiast's dream. The exhibits are well-maintained, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The highlight for me was the interactive touch tanks where I could get up close with some of the aquatic life. It's a must-visit for anyone interested in the wonders of the ocean.

Its a very interesting place to visit. The big O show was very impressive. The show needs reservation and held at night time. It is visible from far distance also. The Aqua planet includes aqua museum, sports activities, etc. I could only visit big O show so next time I definitely visit the entire Aqua planet.

Has interesting, well-designed and fun areas. Some aquariums seem a little small for the bigger animals. Overall, a nice place, but wouldn't be a main reason to visit the city. A one-time visit would suffice.

For the size it has an amazing variety.
I was unsure coming into it. I judged the aquarium before entering because it appeared to be smaller than ones I have been to in the past.
I was pleasantly surprised.
It was well set up and beautiful
My favorite exhibit were the seals. They were playful and cute! I wish I could bring one home!

The entrance fee is 59,000 won but there was a special promotion going on for couples and it only cost 49,000.
But for that price it was very well worth it. The different sections of aquarium and the different shows as well as the decoration/lay out was very well designed.
Overall the price does seem to justify if you do take your time and enjoy everything it has to offer. Also a new baby turtle was born and it was only 78 days old when we went! So that was extremely cute.

The Yeosu Cable Car Dolsan Station is a cableway that connects the mainland and Dolsan Island, providing stunning panoramic views of the ocean and mountains. While some may opt for the crystal cable car, which can have long queues, it is not necessarily worth it as the regular cable car offers a fast entry without any waiting time. The location of the cable car provides easy access to Odongdo island and other attractions in the area.
15000 won per adult for a round trip, definitely worth the price! Amazing views. They open at 0930 and we got a car by ourselves because the line was very short. The lines were much longer in the evenings.

It's nice and has a nice view. Getting the crystal cable car is probably not worth it. A lot of people choose to get the crystal one so it has quite a queue. The normal one doesn't have a queue so it's fast to get in.
The cable car is in a nice location. you can access Odongdo island and other attractions in the area. The view is pretty, I reccomend to go in the evening so you can see the day view and the night view with all the lights

A great way to see Yeosu, South Korea at night, but don’t go there too late since it will be too dark to see the scenic ocean and surrounding. Also, think about if you want to do a round trip ride, which we eventually decided wasn’t worth.
Buying tickets at the kiosk was easy and quite affordable at this popular touristy landmark. A lot to see across the other side and a couple of places to get drinks and take selfies.
We got there around 7:00~7:30 pm, but wished we arrived there a bit earlier… couldn’t see much when it got too dark. Overall, a nice experience on a cable car over Yeosu.

Dont miss this chance, Try to book the ticket early or reach there early if you are travelling in summer. Its one among the crowded place in Yeosu. Great place to start a trip in Yeosu! For Photographer this round trip cable car ride gives great vantage point for some amazing shots.
at the other side they have nice park. Restaurant you can even spend a day there.
Muthukumar Thangavelu — Google review
Really awesome experience. It is a cable car that goes over the ocean right by Yeosu city. It wasn't busy at all the day I went so was easily able to get a car to ourselves. They also have cars called the crystal car which allows you to see below your feet through glass. I did not get that but if I was to go again I would definitely want that experience.

The Suncheon Bay National Garden is a vast and meticulously maintained garden complex that showcases creatively designed plant and flower displays with unique themes. Although the shops were closed during one visitor's afternoon visit, the garden was bustling with plenty of people entering and exiting. It's important to note that the entire place offers numerous photo opportunities, so it's wise to bring a bottle of water for hydration during your tour.

What a beautiful experience!
The park covers a very large area and you'd definitely need a full day to see and appreciate every different garden and site.
It might be wiser to go earlier in the blooming season rather than late August/September.
Loads of photo ops placed for visitors.
Easy access to amenities and snack stands.
If you're in or near Suncheon I would highly recommend a visit.

Well taken care off. Love the country themed gardens aswell. My favorite season to visit this garden is during fall, love the natural hues that come from trees loosing their leaves and changing colours. A must visit when you’re in Suncheon.

Lots of different types of transportation yesterday...
Aside from our rental car we did the Yeosu Ocean Bike Rail, the Yeosu Cable Car, and then over at Suncheon, a little tourist trolley car called the reed train and then the elevated Sky Cube, an unmanned pod transit system between Suncheon Bay National Garden and Suncheon Bay Wetland Reserve.
Ticket prices:
• Yeosu Ocean Bike Rail 28,000 for 2 (I think 32k for 4 sharing a bike)
• Yeosu Cable Car 15,000 per person for round trip, less one way
• Combined ticket Suncheon Bay National Garden and Suncheon Bay Wetland Reserve including Sky Cube, 14,000 per person. Wish we hadn't don't this so late in the day as we weren't able to actually explore either place, just the Sky Cube. (Is seen it while driving around and got obsessed with going on it!)
Jeollonamdo Province is stunning, do visit if you can!

We had such a good time here and enjoyed our stay very much! The area is huge and made with so many details and so much love. All the wonderful plants and flowers are wonderful and if you like photography you can spend even more time here.

We would definitely come back when we go to Suncheon again!

The reserve offers ample opportunities for walking while enjoying the scenic views. Visitors can take a shuttle to Sucheon National garden or ride on the electric mini rail, Sky cube, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the rice fields. Suncheon Bay Nature Reserve and Reed Field is a wonderful place to visit if you like the peace and quiet of nature. We started early and enjoyed walking around. This place is huge so be prepared to walk a lot. The reed field was beautiful in summer, very green. The birds, ducks, herons, crickets etc were all humming the entire time. The air was nice, crisp and clean. I enjoyed watching the crabs and mudfish interact in their natural habitat.
We also hiked all the way up to the observatory. We saw a mountain cat too! The view there amazing! You can see the entire reserve. There's butteflied and caterpillars and even crabs up the mountain.
There's also a restaurant serving coffee, desserts and lunch. For the meals, the ingredients were mostly sourced within the reserve so that's really cool.
I would love to see this reserve in autumn when the colors change to browns and reds. It's also home to migratory birds so that would be nice.

It was a beautiful beautiful place. We went on a sunny day and it was hot! The views were gorgeous and we spent around 3.5 hrs there. Geomosan Hyangilam, a serene Buddhist temple located on the edge of a forested cliff overlooking the vast ocean, boasts a picturesque terrace affording stunning views of the sea and neighboring islands. Accessible via a gentle twenty-minute uphill hike, this small yet charming temple offers an ideal spot for visitors seeking to immerse themselves in Buddhist culture while also enjoying breathtaking natural scenery. Its location amidst rocky cliffs and lush greenery makes it an excellent destination for those interested in both hiking and spirituality.
After a few steps up, we reach the temple where you can observe the infinite of the sea. If you are budisth definitely will be more meaningful than other tourists like me.

Such a beautiful view point temple. I would say it has the most beautiful scenery in Yeosu. People here are very very nice and friendly. It’s quite tough to come to the temple but once you get here you never regret it! The most beautiful time is sunrise. There were various Buddha statues in the temple, but the one with multiple hands and eyes was the most impressive.
We tried some food at the temple. They have the most delicious Kimchi. On the way here we tried a lot of kinds of kimchi but the temple one was the best.

1300+ yr old temple, if you take a taxi you will need to book it round trip and have them wait 1:30hrs as there's no taxi readily available. taxi will also take you closer but it's an extreme trek for the elderly and young. with a stroller be extra prepared to park and hold your young ones. having said that it's a beautiful temple that's the shape of a turtle (from Google map Satellite view) with a legend of a turtle that was trying to make it to the next life with lots of turtle reference around the temple.

beautiful park with awesome sunset views. there are two entry points to the hermitage, a longer sloped trail and a steep set of stairs. if you're going at sunset, i recommend taking the slope and following the sign that leads to "scenic point" (see pic) — short 400m hike, a lil rocky, wear good shoes. but the views are worth it.
important caveat!!! if you're going at sunset, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a taxi back in the evening (not sure how reliable the buses are). please please arrange your own transport, there's a parking lot there so you can arrange to drive there and back.
hyangirang hermitage is also famous for its sunrise views and it might be easier to get a cab in the morning, but beware that the trail i mentioned is totally unlit and frankly quite dangerous. if you take the stairs route, there are sunrise points along the way which are less rocky and easier to traverse. please take care!!

One of the top attractions at Yeosu. Take bus no. 111 or 113 and spare half a day to come here. One way bus journey from the city centre is about 50 minutes.
It takes about 20 minutes walk uphill with stairs, to get to the temple. Adult entrance fee is 2000 won. Once get to the top, there's nice panoramic view, and worth the effort.

Awesome temple on the coast. We drove out here and if you do the same you should park at the large lot before the town. After a ten minute walk or so you end up in a little town with a ton of kimchi stalls which I recommend testing and buying some if you like it because the area is known for its kimchi.
The temple itself is really nice and has some cool trails that lead through rock crevices. Once you're at the top you get a good look at the views of the area.

The Songgwangsa Temple is a restored and active ancient Buddhist site that features numerous monuments, including a monastery and tomb. It is situated about an hour and 20 minutes away from Suncheon train station and can be accessed by taking the 111 bus, which arrives at intervals of approximately 45 minutes (the posted schedule provides further information). Additionally, travelers can opt to take the number 1 bus to visit another temple located on the opposite side of the area or hike between both locations.
Beautiful place, about 1hr 20minutes by bus from suncheon train station. The 111 goes to here, about 45mins intervals, I have posted the schedule. The number 1 bus goes to the other temple on the other side. You can hike from one temple to the other too.

One of the most famous buddist temples in Korea. The temple is known for its long history, and many well-known monks have come from this place.
However, from a tourist point of view, there are not many things to see considering the time required and traffic inconveniences.
Nevertheless, the temple can be an interesting place for people who have never been to asian buddist temples before.

I would like to share my experience of visiting temple called Songgwang sa. It’s located in the Jogye mountain, Suncheon, Jeollanam-do. It holds about eight thousands Buddhist cultural heritages.
I learned in my history class that this temple is the birth place of the Jogye order, which is a sect of Buddhism as well as one of the three major temples. So it has great value of Korean history.
Since it has been settled on the mountain. I could see a lot of trees and animals like a squirrel, a sparrow, and so on. I have been there three times. But every time I went there, I got diffrent impressions. when I visited it in spring, I felt alive from a nature flowers and trees. When I visited it in fall, I was overwhelmed by the autumn foliage and fallen leaves. Lastly, when I visited it in winter, I felt calm and relaxed because of snow and trees without leaves.
There is admission fee. Grown ups cost 3,000won and students cost 2,500won to enter this site. But you can get a discount if you visit as a group tour.
So, why don’t you visit Songgwang temple this week? You can not only take a rest and be refreshed here ,but also experience lots of Buddhism heritages. I strongly recommend you to visit Songgwang temple.

Songswang temple is one of three jewels buddhist temple in S.Korea. This temple is not looks so old as like other heritage temples, but has 1000 years of history. This temple is known as ‘sangha-buddhist monk’, because 16 grand master whose were teachers of kings were grew up here. Recently it’s known as filming location ‘헤어질 결심(Decision to leave). And many youngster are doing temples stay because they offer special private tea room in the accomondation.

Was there on a templestay. Experienced the sounding of the 4 treasures in temple prior to the morning and evening prayer sessions.
The surroundings are wonderful for hikes and walks and scenery is spectacular. Hikes are not refommended for those with any walking issues, however small, as some places could be challenging to tackle head-on.
Kelvin Ng — Google review
I enjoyed a hike around the temple but the temple itself was a little dissapointing.
There are so many new buildings, cars parked everywhere that the atmosphere is more of a "lived in quarters" than a Joseon era temple.
I think for example Buseoksa Temple was better, but that's just my opinion.

One of the 33 Kannon sacred sites in Korea. The bus from Junten Station to Songkoji Temple is bus number 111. According to the timetable from May 3, 2021, the first bus number 111 going to Songkoji Temple on the weekend was at 7:10. It took about 80 minutes from Junten Station to arrive at Shokoji bus stop. From there, you can walk for about 10 minutes through the restaurant area on the approach to the shrine, and you will find the ticket office. After walking for another 15 minutes along the gentle uphill path along the river, you will arrive at the shrine grounds. The road along the river was full of greenery, you could hear the sound of the river, the voices of birds, and there were places to sit, so it was a nice place to relax.

Beautiful temple, beautiful scenery. A lovely loop walk! I really enjoyed seeing this temple, it was a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be! I loved the intricate details on each of the buildings. You can also do a Temple Stay here, and I think that's really cool! If you're down here from Pyeongtaek or Osan, I highly recommend seeing this place!

The museum, located in the Joseon-era fortress, offers a tour of traditional dwellings and buildings. It is a beautiful place to visit throughout the year as every season has its unique charm. Free entrance is available after 6 pm. The establishment showcases regional living habits and environment through various exhibitions and plays. It also features many shops where visitors can buy souvenirs or other items, but it's important to be courteous since Korean is spoken here.
Great little village, worth a relaxing few hours to stroll through. There are a couple K-drama filming locations as well. Getting there was very easy by bus from Suncheon.

Great unique experience made even better by visiting on a winter sunny, clear day with very few people around.
There is no other folk village like this in Korea. The walled perimeter (which offer amazing views if you complete the circular walk), straw roofs and clay rooms makes it unique but what I found most interesting is that people still live there.
It is like an open air museum where you can experience what life was a few hundred years ago mixed with a few modern aspects.
Had lunch in the restaurant inside the village - not fancy, just simple food served with kindness. It was one of the best pancakes I had in Korea.

An absolute "must see" if you visit. Please be warned that he story of Gwanju's uprising is harrowing, yet hugely significant. The heart of the townspeople during the whole event is something that the community are very proud of. We were very lucky that upon arrival here we were greeted by a free guide who had lived through the uprising and gave us a personal account of his and his friend's and family's experience. He walked us through the park and showed us the graves of the known and unknown victims, the monuments and their significance, and guided us through the exhibition hall.

The 1913 Songjeong Station Market is a well-established marketplace that houses hip indie boutiques and dining options that serve tempura, ramen, and rice cakes. The street holds historical significance with its vintage shops that sell food items. While some of the shops have undergone modernization into cafes, others have maintained their classic allure. Huge green tea plantation offering hikes amid verdant, terraced fields & snacks such as ice cream.
We arrived late in the afternoon so we were not able to go around and explore much but this is a beautiful green tea plantation. The green tea covered rolling hills. You can walk/hike around, the path were well maintained. Every area is great for photos.
Make sure to try their green tea soft served ice cream and latte. We also bought several boxes of teabags to take home. Their green tea is subtle and not strong/bitter but has so much flavor in it. It's delicious!
You will be walking through tall pine trees and a small creek to and fro the plantation with the bird tweeting in the background.

If you are in Korea, you need to see this place before you leave! I have been waiting to visit this place since I've gotten here a d it was worth the wait! They open at 9am so we got there as it opened so we could get good pictures! We walked around the fields for about 25 minutes and enjoin thoroughly! We then got some green tea lattes, they were the best we've ever had! Bit overly sweet, just the right amount of sweet. We also got the green tea ice cream and it was so amazing! I really liked it! We then went into the gift shop and looked around, I ended up purchasing a 500ml bag of matcha powerful 20,000 won!
I really enjoyed this spot and I know you will too!

Great half-day experience through both the green tea field and bamboo forest. There is t much else to do around the immediate area but Boseong Green Tea Plantation itself is worth a day trip of its own if you've never visited a tea plantation before.
Walking/hiking around the place is manageable although just mildly strenuous because of the inclines.
Views are beautiful and unique but the place might be a little smaller than expected. Don't expect wide sweeping vistas as there is a fairly dense forest with tall trees that surrounds the plantation. That said, the rows upon rows of tea bushes make for interesting photos.
Great tea products to purchase and sample as well.

As far as tea fields go it was pretty disappointing. I enjoyed the bamboo forest more. HOWEVER the tea products were OUTSTANDING! I wish i could buy more :'(
That all being said, i visited in the winter so the fields were not in full bloom. I think they should probably close in the off season as it's not even worth it at that time to come. They should do it for the customer and their image preservation.

You can see, watch and feel tons of dino
considering it was built 20 years ago, Well organized and most of the stuff keeps clean and upgraded.

This place is so amazing, park-wise as well as museum-wise.

Mihwangsa is a serene Buddhist temple situated in the midst of natural surroundings, offering breathtaking views of both mountains and sea. The tranquil atmosphere exudes an eternal stillness that provides a calming and relaxing experience. The hiking trails around the temple are fantastic with newly planted trees that will eventually turn into an incredibly diverse forest in 5-10 years. However, visitors should be cautious of ticks as they are prevalent in this natural area.
Calm and relaxing. Close from Gwangju area. Good for a day trip.

Very beautiful temple and surroundings. We did a templestay here.
Since we couldn't find the price on the website: For two people we paid 160,000 won for 1 night including dinner, breakfast, lunch and joining the yebul ceremony.

My favourite place in the whole of South Korea. The mountain ridge walk is stunning as you look out to sea and see the scattered islands. The Buddhist temple has the stillness of eternity there. Try the delicious tea made of red berries. I visited this place for one day in 2014. Sublime!

Gorgeous views, fantastic hiking trails with a variety of newly planted trees. They are still saplings but this is going to be an incredibly diverse forest in 5-10 years. Watch out for ticks though, the are is natural and there are insects (including ticks) everywhere.

Udo, a charming island located just a 15-minute ferry ride off the northeast coast of Jeju, is famous for its coral beach, cozy cafes, and convenient bicycle and scooter rentals. While many visitors come for a day-trip to explore the stunning coastlines, staying overnight allows for a more in-depth exploration of the island's hidden gems.
Approximately, it takes two hours to explore the island on a electric bicycle. It’s one of the best places in Jeju island.
Arshad Farhad — Google review
It’s a nice and quiet island, but it is good for Koreans only. Almost nothing in English, if you don’t have Korean licenses you can’t use the cute and comfortable cars (only bike or a bus).
Omer Sheskin — Google review
There is the most beautiful island of South Korea.
You can have various delicious seafood, also go around the island by electric vehicle.
I have traveled so many countries like USA, EU, UK etc. And there are lots of beautiful places but I think Udo island also is one of them.

A lot of memories from here !
I surely recommened this place!

Back to Udo after 15 years. Still a beautiful island. Suggest to rent e-bike to slowly enjoy and explore the island!

Small island with so many things to explore. I rent scooter at the main island and bring it to udo, its very easy process but i forget how much I pay for the ticket myself and for the bike.

Udo Island is pretty much like a mini Jeju. If you have stayed in Jeju for 10 days like me, the sights are not really different or impressive. Would be fun to ride around and explore on foot or via bicycle but to do I think you need more time. Probably good to stay for 1-2 nights, else it's too rush to do everything within a few hours. Cost of bicycle or electric car rental is not too cheap. Last ferry back to mainland is 5pm.
Elaine Quek — Google review
Im sure most people will have a better expirience than me but my expierience was just okay. I recommend you go and buy a ticket at 1.30-2.00ish as afterwords there isnt much time to see all the things. The shuttle bus costs 8000 krw and the last bus to catch is at 3.40ish and to rent electric car only very little stalls accept international driving lisence and you need the paper version which we didnt have. And it was really really sunny not hot though so we just sat down in the shade and just relaxed. The ferry tucket costs 9000-10000 ish krw each person. Also if you are planning to go i recommend you go on an empty stomach as you should try all their peanut items and also buy or bring some snacks for your ferry as you can feed the seagulls (was the best part when we went udo island)

Udo Island is a must visit place in Jeju! There are TONS to see and do!
It’s a 15mins ferry ride from Jeju. Upon arriving you could either choose to rent a bike or avail their hop on and off bus which I did because it’s winter. 😅
Peanut Ice Cream is a must. ⭐️

Udo island is the best! Fun island with cute scooters or e-bikes to bring you around. Plenty of nice cafes with great view for you to chill! A must to visit when you come! Remember to get an international driving license for scooter if you want to rent the scooters.

Recommend to go when visit Jeju, not that English-friendly if just follow the signboard, so don't hesitate to ask, this time we took bus tour, few bus drivers can understand little English.
Certain place needs maintenance, the bus route can be clearer. Overall the views are amazing.

It’s a cute island where you can take a bike or electric mini car to drive around along the coastline. You can only get to the island with a boat if the weather allows, so better check before planning anything.

This little island is too beautiful. Small enough to get around with a bicycle, enjoying the breeze on your face, stopping by for beautiful pictures and people watching. Conveniently reachable via ferry from Jeju - Seongsan, I spent about 4 hours here.

I'll never travel to Jeju without this trip planner again
Seongsan Ilchulbong, also known as Sunrise Peak, is a remarkable natural wonder located on the western tip of Jeju Island. This UNESCO World Heritage site was formed by an undersea volcanic eruption, resulting in a 180-meter high crater known as a Tuff Cone. The forested crater is encircled by rugged rocks and offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the island and ocean from its summit.
Hike to the top of a volcano crater. Lots of walking/climbing!! Best to go on a cloudy day! There are other things in the area like horseback riding for ₩10,000. Take roughly 25mins going up (depending on fitness) Admission is ₩5,000 for adults.
Rodney Horton — Google review
Nice hiking route. Lots of stairs.
There is free trail and paid trail. Paid trail goes all the way to the peak.
Steady staircase and railings throughout the hike. The up and down routes are separated so no issue with traffic while hiking. Multiplr rest stops along the way. Clear signages for visitors. Nice scenic views throughout.
Z D Y — Google review
Seongsan Ilchulbong is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can hike up to its crown-like summit for breathtaking views of the island's stunning landscapes. If time permits. We were in a tour group which did not accord us the luxury of time to hike all the way up. Nevertheless, even if you walk up the hill partway for around 15 minutes, you can still take beautiful pictures on the way up, and also on your walk down the shorter trail on the right side with scenic sea views. But if you have time and are able to, imagine that the view from uptop will be even more spectacular and paranomic.
Helen Lim — Google review
Beautiful hike (a lot of stairs) with incredible views. There's also a beautiful black sand beach at the bottom with Island diving demonstrations
Sarah Linford — Google review
The walking trail is not too long, 20 mins up and 20 mins down. A lot of steps and stairs on the way up, not for kids. The walk down is smooth and easier. The view is beautiful. You get to see sea and mountain.

It is best to visit during the May period as the weather condition is comfortable and nice. We visited this place during May 22 and we enjoyed the hike up as well as the view.
Beth — Google review
The hike was quite comfortable - well-organized trails, although we liked the side view from the free trail much much more than the one from the top.
I’d also won’t recommend hiking up to those with knee issues as there are a lot of steps which get steeper the higher you go.
Adina Aimukhan — Google review
The most popular place in Jeju. Literally translates to Sunrise Peak. The view from the top is mind blowing. Its just a 20 minute hike to the top. And well laid out paths to avoid people clashing into each other. What I liked about it is there is an uphill entry path and a separate downhill exit path. Drones aren't allowed, sadly.

Another famous tourist attraction in Jeju (UNESCO). In my opinion, skip the paid route. Take the free trail instead that brings you to the bottom of the crater with a seafood restaurant. It's a better view for the entire site including geological observations. Definitely worth a visit despite a long drive from the airport.
Ivan Hui — Google review
Beautiful crater-style peak with easy access and a good climb to the top. The view is excellent. While it is a beautiful climb, the beauty of the peak is probably best viewed with a drone. Drones are not allowed, which I am totally fine with 😊

A popular hiking spot when visiting Jeju and rightfully so! At the base of the hike there are some vendors and shops selling refreshing Hallabong juice, ice cream and souvenirs. We got the juice and have deemed it a must to enjoy during at at the top of the hike! The views were stunning and there is a nice and large resting spot. Not too intense of a hike, but definitely recommend wearing comfortable clothes.
I appreciate them having lockers at the base of the hike, but it's a bit tucked away/hidden. Pretty big and spacious too.

This is a very famous place to visit for all including local and tourist. If you planning to come and visit here please come earlier and plan your time, to avoid crowded with others untill no space for you to take a good and beautiful photo. If excluding the excessive crow, this will be a nice place for relaxing and clean you busy mind because here have some beautiful view... It should control the crow to avoid messing the place.

Quite an uphill climb. Obviously very popular amongst the locals and China tourists. Scenic and picturesque. Crater can really be appreciated as you can only view part of it. You can see U do island. And go to Udo island thereafter. Do start early as the last ferry back from Udo is 5pm.

It was a winter rainy day when we came. We braved the wet and cold and took us slightly less than an hour to get up and down at leisure pace. Although steep at some points, the well built steps help. View is lovely at summit, so great motivation to get up there. Along the way up there are a few big interesting rocks for some photo moments. There are many cafes and eateries at the base so that’s motivation to get up and come back down. I had a cup of hot chocolate at Paik coffee when I get back to the base of the mountain.

The view on both sides of the submit was amazing, with the crater on one side and the sea+city on the other. The climb was of a moderate difficulty (having elderly koreans march past you with ease was a great motivator), but not too hard, and worth the effort.

A good place to watch the sunrise. It takes about 40 minutes to walk up to the bottom of the mountain. It's better to prepare for an hour and take a break. Today is sunrise at 7:28, but there are clouds and the sun is not seen until about 7:40.

Seongsan Ilchulbong, also known as Sunrise Peak, is a geological masterpiece that graces the landscape of Jeju Island, earning its UNESCO World Heritage status. This iconic volcanic peak showcases the remnants of a crater formed by a powerful eruption over 100,000 years ago. Its distinctive horseshoe shape against the backdrop of the azure sea creates a captivating spectacle. The journey to the summit, while challenging with steep staircases, rewards visitors with a breathtaking panorama. The crater at the top unveils a unique ecosystem, hosting diverse flora and fauna.
Seongsan Ilchulbong is renowned for its sunrise views, attracting early risers who are greeted with a surreal play of colors over the ocean. This natural spectacle has become symbolic of the island's beauty and tranquility. Despite its popularity, the site maintains its allure, blending natural wonders with accessibility.
The well-maintained trails lead through lush landscapes, providing glimpses of endemic plants and captivating geological formations. The juxtaposition of the rugged volcanic terrain and the serenity of the surrounding sea creates a truly enchanting atmosphere.
Visitors can immerse themselves in the local culture by exploring nearby fishing villages or enjoying fresh seafood delicacies. The blend of geological significance, stunning vistas, and cultural experiences makes Seongsan Ilchulbong an indispensable part of any Jeju Island itinerary, offering a harmonious convergence of nature's grandeur and cultural richness.

Great quick hike up on top! (490 steps, I counted haha) The trail is very well maintained! Beautiful crater covered in so much vegetation, it looks absolutely stunning. The view is great! You have to check it out!
Best part though was watching the free diver presentation right next to this amazing mountain. (Go left instead of right by the entrance) The show is at 2 pm every day. Amazing what those female divers endured during some tough times and are still kicking butt! They are an inspiration! They caught an octopus with their bare hands during the presentation I watched. So impressive!! Check out my photos! ❤️
The Aqua Planet Jeju aquarium is one of the largest in Asia and contains many varieties of fishes. There are marine animals such as stingrays, sharks, seals, penguins, and more which can be seen up close. The entrance fee includes live shows such as animal feeding and female divers diving. The aquarium is really beautiful and well worth a visit even if it is a bit pricey. Get a local guide who has discount coupons to save even more money!

It was a nice Aquarium, but sadly so full of the summertime tourists that it felt a bit uncomfortable and stifling. They claim to be the largest Aquarium in Asia, however it felt a lot smaller than a few other aquariums I've been to, so I'm not sure how accurate the claim is. All that said the tanks appeared large and I'd imagine it to be a great trip off season. There is a lot for the kiddos to see and experience, and there are opportunities to see some really interesting sea animals.
We did still have a good time, I would have just preferred to see it without feeling rushed and confined between a huge plethora of tourists.
Ruth Shand — Google review
We recently had the opportunity to visit the largest aquarium in the region and was thoroughly impressed with our experience. While the entrance fee was a bit on the expensive side, we found that the variety of fish species and attractions made it well worth the cost.
One thing that stood out to us was how kid-friendly the aquarium was. There were plenty of interactive exhibits and hands-on activities for children to enjoy, making it a great destination for families. Additionally, the shows were a highlight of the visit and definitely shouldn't be missed.
We was also pleasantly surprised by the number of penguins on display. Seeing these adorable creatures up close was a real treat and definitely a highlight of the visit. The fact that the aquarium is located right beside the beach only added to the overall ambiance and made for a truly unforgettable experience.
Overall, there were plenty of things to see and do at the aquarium, from watching mesmerizing sea creatures to taking in entertaining shows. While the entrance fee may be a bit steep, we would highly recommend this destination to anyone looking for an enjoyable and educational experience.

Large aquarium with heaps to see and a perfect wet weather activity. Couple of things to note:
1. Definitely worth the online discount, probably too expensive otherwise.
2. We missed the show because it is separate from the actual aquarium area so plan to go before or after your visit as you cannot re-enter otherwise.
3. We arrived mid morning and we didn't have to wait in line and it was wasn't super busy. We left around 1pm and the entrance line was snaking all over the foyer and the place was chockablock so plan your timing wisely.

The weather was bad when we were visiting Jeju. So, the tour guide recommended this place. We enjoyed ourselves here. The place was well maintained and had a lot of interactive sections. I personally enjoyed the big tank. Apparently, they live stream the tank on Youtube 😁.

I super enjoyed my time here. The aquarium is very well maintained and curated/arranged. We went here on its last hour of operation, and though we didn't catch the show, the 1 hr was enough to go through all the exhibits in the aquarium.
We went here right after a very tiring day of biking around Udo island, so I was surprised that we had enough energy to go and enjoy this place. In fact, we felt energized by the end of it.

One of the nicest aquariums I've been to anywhere. Initially you'll think the cost of admission is a bit steep, but you'll find it 100% worth the price. They have a nice array of aquatic life and the show is excellent. Our kids absolutely loved it. We would make the trip across the island to go back again.

This is a perfect family visit! Their sea life is very rich, and I enjoyed they provide a little educational talk before their performance e.g feeding. It impressed me especially when I see snake necked turtle here! Also, it was very interesting to see them to feed Ray too! They have a performance in ocean arena. Be careful, this is either the first or last visit because it means you left the aquarium area.

This aquarium is located on the east side of Jeju Island. From the aquarium cafe, you can see Seongsan Ilchulbong beautifully. With the atmosphere of a tropical aquarium, there is also an underwater show in a large aquarium and a dolphin show theater, so the whole family can enjoy it. However, compared to the Churaumi Aquarium in Okinawa or the aquarium in Kenting, Taiwan, I felt that it was smaller and the price was higher (approximately 3,500 yen for adults), but it was an event hall attached to the aquarium. There was an exhibition of the Korean drama ``Yumi's Cells Season 2'' (there was some digital art), and it was really good!! I was able to enter this exhibition hall with my aquarium ticket, and I'm a fan of the drama. It was so much fun.

Manjanggul Lava Tube is an extraordinary underground formation characterized by unique structures like stalactites and stalagmites, as well as a habitat for bats and insects. These fascinating geological features result from the flow of lava, which creates cave-like tunnels. The Manjanggul Lava Tube stands out globally with its impressive size, reaching up to 20 meters wide and 30 meters high. One can easily explore these well-illuminated tunnels on foot without any special gear required.
Absolutely loved this place. The caves make you feel like you have travelled back to history. The whole walk to the end and back to the entrance of the cave takes minimum 45 to 1hr. There's also luggage locker near the ticket booth and restrooms

Interesting place to visit. The rock formations inside are beautiful and unique. It is a little cold, wet and damp inside. Make sure to wear a jacket and have walking shoes. Classified as a UNESCO heritage site, this is an amazing must-see attraction on your trip to Jeju. The entire length of this lava tube is about 15km but 1km is open for public. You can see many lava rock formations, stalactites and stalagmites as well as lava textures on the floor of the cave. It is relatively an easy walk but not suitable for KIDS. There is an entrance fee to go inside but it was well worth the visit. There are ample free parking before the entrance.
Karthikeyan Ganesan (???) — Google review
Tickets to enter the lava tube are 4000 won per adult. The entire walk is 2km round trip and can take about an hour. It is dark and cool with uneven ground. I would recommend wearing closed toe shoes and a hat (if it rains before there are puddles and drips from the cave). Don’t wear anything you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Many other people were able to walk in sandals and summer clothes, but it gets as cool as 10C. It’s really amazing to see and learn about the lava tube. There’s lot of time to take photos as you go at your own pace. There are lights inside and benches near the end to rest.

Can absolutely feel the wonder of nature and immerse yourself in it. Well preserved and easy to reach, the cave is a great place to visit!
Though only 1km is opened for public, you can find many different forms of igneous rock here and the whole atmosphere is so good here! (We spent around 1 hour to finish the whole journey and back to the entrance)
Apart from the cave, there is an indoor information center to learn the history of this place. Next to the center is a local restaurant offering fried cheese pork cutlet and udon. Recommend to give it a try also : )
Ticket price: 4,000 won per adult
Plenty of outdoor parking space is available.

Interesting marvel of nature's formation from many many years ago. Should be regarded more as a lava tube from a geographical standpoint. The interior is really dark and the ground can get slippery. There were certain points inside where I almost tripped so in my opinion, more lights could be placed at areas where there are steps to highlight the danger (especially at the wooden board walk area).
Besides that, a good experience nevertheless as it was my first time entering and learning about lava tube formations.

This cave is roughly 700m long (though longer, but not available for the public) - and gets immediately cold when you enter! So bring a jacket or a sweater.
The tunnel is full of information - but at the end - it’a mostly a dark hole.
Many tourists on weekend.
Also there is an entrance fee.

Interesting to experience this walk through the lava cave. It’s very dark and cold. Is best to bring a jacket. There’s a free gallery to read up on lava cave. Bus to this place goes by 711-1,711-2 which has specific timing so be aware. The stop is not last stop so look out for the timing at the bus stop for the return to transfer for bus back to jeju city.

Very interesting place to visit. Honestly an eye opener for me and very educational. Was amazed by the rock formations.
The cave is dark, cold and wet. The ground is also uneven. Need to be careful when walking.

I’m giving the tube 4 stars due to it’s size-quite impressive. It can be a bit monotonous as it’s largely the same throughout. Caves can be slick and uneven so use caution. You go out the same way you come in.

One of the best tourist attractions on Jeju Island. This UNESCO site is something incredible to behold. There is an entrance fee but it's well worth it. I recommend you carry a jacket/jersey with you as once you descend the steps the temperature drastically drops. 1km of the lava tube is open to the public and the feeling you get walking through it is difficult to explain.

The longest lava tube in the world, and never knew that before I researched this place. Its quite a long way inside. They have created a 1 km pathway, all the lava cleared for public viewing and experience. Gets pretty cold down there if u're visiting around winter or early spring season. There is plenty of parking space, just like any other place in Jeju.

A remarkable 1km-long natural wonder, Manjanggul Lava Tube is impeccably preserved, offering a fascinating and educational experience. The food in the restaurant at the entrance is amazing! The host was very kind. So, we had a great start to our visit.
The lava tube is stunning! Not much more to say, but that it is a must see.
Walking will be challenging for those who struggle to walk on uneven surfaces - the floor is rough lava flow rock. Would go here to reflect, cool off, or just marvel at the wonder of it.
Highly recommend.

The Manjanggul Lava Tube is a unique attraction compared to what the other things Jeju island has to offer. While the lava/rock formations are beautiful, it is a challenging 1km walk to the end of the tube.
Kids and elderly folks will find problems walking on uneven grounds in dimly lit settings. The constant dripping from the ceiling caused the floor to be very slippery too.
There are signs to explain the different rock/lava formations such as the lava raft and lava toes. These are interesting educational content available in several languages such as English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean.
If you're fit enough and this is your cup of tea, go for it. Be sure to go in with proper footwear. Else, you might want to rethink visiting.

Bijarim Forest, located in Jeju, is a serene natural monument featuring thousands of nutmeg trees aged between 500 and 800 years old. It is the world's largest forest consisting of a single plant species, the bija (nutmeg yew) trees. The dense forest offers a peaceful retreat and houses several ancient trees, including an impressive 800-year-old specimen and conjoined nutmeg yews.
A short and lovely nature walk among nutmeg trees. There is a path that takes you inside the forest, trees are labeled and marked for information. You can hear birds chirping as you walk, it's very relaxing.
I have seen many visitors walk barefoot, they said it's good for blood circulation. Overall, enjoyed our walk and it was one way to relieve stress.
There's cafés and a small restaurant putside by the parking lot for some refreshments. Fee was 2,000 won per adult.

To be very frank, this forest is just like another other forest. However it has a history that Kings of jeju use to go there to breathe in the air and feel revitalise. I would recommend here only if you have ran out of attractions to visit in jeju.

This is a cool forest featuring japanese trees. Easy access by car. Around 35 min from Jeju city. All ages can can enjoy it. The entrance fee is only ₩ 3,000 per adult. The short course can be completed in 30 min, while the long in around 45. The area is pretty much flat, making it an easy trail. Although it is open all year long, it would be perfect for an easy walk during the summer due to the trees' shade. Recommended visit.

After visiting this place, I found it hard to understand why this place was so highly rated (averaging 4.6/5 at the time of this review), and resonated more with those who mentioned this place was basically nothing. Even if you are a nature lover, there are plenty of other places you should first explore before travelling to check
this one out. There is a dirt path which is starting to show its age, and a boardwalk at some parts. The nature parts were a mess to look. A couple of reviews show manicured terrains, those are at the start before the main walk. The highlight of the ‘forest’ is supposedly the Millennium Nutmeg tree, photographed, which is less than impressive. Imagine the rest of this place. There is also a nominal entrance fee.

Nice walk through a calm forest. Walk is easy and suitable for all ages. However, I don’t understand the hype. Different difficulties and longer walks would have been nice

Hamdeok Beach is a long, wide white-sand beach located east of Jeju Intercity Bus Terminal on Jeju Island. The beach is known for its clear and shallow water, making it a popular destination during summer. The beach features an arched bridge over black basalt, and a red lighthouse. The calm waters make Hamdeok Beach ideal for kayaking.
A really lovely beach in Jeju. The water is clean and clear enough. It's a nice turquoise blue. It can get crowded but it didn't feel overrun. During low tide the water does get really low and you can walk out quite far into the sea. Also during low tide other beaches are formed that would disappear during high tide.

A beautiful, scenic, and relaxing beach on Jeju Island!
Hamdeok Beach is a sandy beach with many cafes and restaurants just within walking distance. One of the popular cafes just right by the beach is Cafe Delmondo. This particular cafe serves nice pastries, coffee, and drinks. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful view of the sea from this cafe.
Highly recommended to visit this beach and taking a stroll along the beach itself is rewarding. The blue water and clean beach are perfect for a family outing!

This is a beautiful beach and was my first introduction to Jeju Island where I saw the volcanic rocks (charcoal black) and the aquamarine waves.
There is also a small hill covered with rapeseed (canola) flowers, great for taking photos. It was quite windy when we arrived (there was a monsoon coming) but it was nontheless beautiful. There's a lot of cafes facing the sea and would have been wonderful to see the sunset here next time.

This beach is absolutely stunning! 😍 The white sand and crystal-clear waters make it so tempting to take a stroll along the shore.

One of the nearest beaches from the Jeju airport. The transparent, emerald-color water meets the basalt land beautifully.

Definitely go here if you need a beach experience in Jeju, and try going during sunset hours. Our experience is somewhat disappointing due to the cloudy skies, but the lights of the storefronts from the pier is beautiful. The cafe by the beach is also great for a short break.

Where to start ? This beach is an absolute wonder. A nugget of nature ! I never thought it was possible to see this kind of beach in South Korea ! However, it's possible in Jeju ! The sea is a fantastic turquoise blue, and the walk around is so peaceful ! It was an enchanting interlude on Jeju Island, and this beach is really worth a visit !

Clear water and calm waves. I like how there are parts of the ocean split by sand where you can play in with no waves. There are multiple areas where you can swim, I swam at the area closest to the hill where you can walk up. Restrooms nearby with water to wash feet. There are showers and lockers rooms but they were closed when I was there in the evening. Sunset was so pretty, many engagements photos taken here. Street performers at now. People selling thier crafts and many restaurants nearby. I was here in mid June and water was cold but I got use it it and became really nice with the sun setting on my back.
Anfoodtravel — Google review
I visited this beach in June and it was quite busy, there was not much comfortable space to sit if you didn’t wanna pay for the chairs.
The swimming area was also limited and there were lots of people in the water.
The hike around the beaches was enjoyable with good views of the beach.

It's so pretty here you have good food places nearby. Was only a little sad that they don't let you swim very far they keep a line and you are not allowed to cross. It was around 1,50 cm and deeper was not allowed. The beach itself is very clean and a lot of sitting places

It feels like paradise. The sand is soft and bright white. There is a campsite, free toilet and shower. Here you can take beautiful holiday pictures.
