Great attraction showing how minig has changed through the ages. Includes information on how the miners worked and lived. Well presented and a great day out.

The place was absolutely infested with noisy children. If you think this may affect you, I recommend coming on a weekend. Apart from that, it's a good visit.

Bijzonder goed en compleet overzicht over de mijn geschiedenis. Zeker het bezoeken waard.

Particularly good and complete overview of the mining history. Well worth a visit.

It was perfect I come from hengri bergson high school and the guide was very funny and kind I think her name is Axel so I give a 5 starts.
Emany Makap — Google review
We liked our visit at the museum. Everything is in French and they offer an audio tour in several languages.
The audio tour is not quite tourist-childfriendly because of the highly detailed information, but our 8yr old picked up enough to get a grasp of what she was seeing.
The guided tour through the reconstructed mine is very nice to see for all ages. It gives a really nice impression of life down the mines.
J.A.C. van Yperen — Google review
Mooi informatieve site over het leven en werk van de mijnwerkers in de streek. Zeer mooie rondleiding in de nagemaakte steenkoolmijn. De moeite om eens te bezoeken!

Nice informative site about the life and work of the miners in the region. Very nice tour in the counterfeit coal mine. Worth a visit!

Great museum. It felt very personal knowing my forebears were coal Miners nearby from 1720 till 1930

I never thought that I could enjoy this type of visit that much.
The museum is so realistic, you have the feeling of going back to the past.
Count minimum 3hours for a full visit and wear comfortable shoes, it's important.🤪
There's a small shop for souvenirs, many other activities for almost all ages throughout the year.
If you're visiting the Nord-Pas-de-Calais, then you should definitely stop by this museum. It's worth your curiosity especially if you like history though this one isn't a joyful one.
To those who have read "Germinal" of Emile Zola, this museum is the best way to feel like you were present in those days, meanwhile many of us weren't even born when it all happened.😊
Nancy Moussima — Google review
Really nice museum, with a very nice collection.
There are lots of stuff and info for small and big.
The entry to the "mine" is very informative.
If you plan to go plan atleast three hours to have time enough to get all the information. We spent nearly three hours with two children and did not manage to see it all.
The reason for only 4 stars is the missing information in English in the permanent exhibition.
Eskil Nielsen — Google review
Very interesting and rich in terms of history. Great way to understand how the mines worked. Strongly recommend!

Amazing place to visit during Christmas season.
Beautiful vibes, nice decorations, yummy food and games for adults and kids.
Moreover, the architecture of the buildings is spectacular.

Its a wonderful place, we enjoyed every minute in the zoo. Everything is tight and in order, nice restaurants and the most important thing, the animals look great and well maintained. My boys were excited to see pandas, wolves, bears, lions, giraffes, tigers and many more wonderful animals.

This is one of the most beautiful zoos in the World. We actually stayed here with the polar bears for a couple of nights and it was simply breathtaking. I have to say that for me the best part was the bats. It was simply amazing to be in there with them while they flew near you in all directions; this was superb. Plan on being here for at least a couple of days, there is so much to see and you don’t want to miss any of it. It took us two days to see everything and then spent the third day seeing all the things we loved the most. The park is simply beautiful and very clean. All the animals look happy and they have plenty of room to roam around. I can say that the food prices are a bit steep for what it is so maybe a great choice to bring your own lunch. There are plenty of areas around the zoo to have lunch. We signed the kids up to feed the elephants and this was a cool experience for them. Overall highly recommend, beautiful place.
Lori Adamson-Salas — Google review
The park is amazing ! And continuously improving !
Spent the night for the second time this year 😊 The first experience was so great we had to come back (and will come again) !
Staying in a lodge is expensive but totally worth it, because you can enjoy the park later at night and earlier in the morning, when the one-day visitors have left 🤩 The park gets calm and the animals start their night life, always a pleasure to observe 😌
Eating in the park is more than what you'd expect, some restaurants even offer more sophisticated menus, but comfort food can be found almost everywhere 😋 Don't forget location influences prices 😅
The whole park is a must-see ! But still try and plan your visits with the feeding schedule, that way observing animals is more entertaining! This can be done very easily, using the paper map given upon entrance or the app, both free-of-charge 😊
I strongly recommend visiting this zoological park, note that it has received multiple times the title of "Best Zoo of Europe" 🥇
Lucas Claessens — Google review
This animal park is huge it has different worlds it has 7000 animals. We visited during Halloween there was spooky atmosphere staff in masks, music and other events, 3D light projections. You can spend a whole day and won't see everything. We had seasonal tickets for one year. Entrance is quite expensive but worth it. You can spend some time inside of the area where kids can play. There is also restaurants and many kiosks with food.
Mária Kimbrell — Google review
We stayed in the birds eye view tiger room and loved it! The tigers were so fun to watch! We also loved walking around the zoo. The polar bears were another favorite, they were so cute!!
Alisha Bell — Google review
The visit was amazing!
From the beautiful grand entry of the place around the whole lovely park till our sleeping accommodations at the Paddling Bear - every step was greeted by a new sight and around every corner a new delight. I thoroughly enjoyed all three days in the park, including both breakfast and dinner at the restaurant Octopus.
Unfortunately, not all the shops were open, so we had to walk all the way back to the entry to get a cup of coffee. Nevertheless, the plants and animals all around were fantastic and I would love to return during another season.
Hannah Z — Google review
Though pricy, definitely one of if not the biggest and most aesthetically pleasing zoos I have visited. The enclosures are large, varied and well-maintained, and the animals seem to be well-taken care of. I will note that there is so much to see that you simply cannot fully experience everything in just a single day. Then again, I would very much consider another visit.
Maxim Broux — Google review
It has been one of the best zoos I have seen if not the best. Definitely worth a visit.
It has incredible themes built around the zoo it's not only paintings it is buildings and beautiful gardens. I was visiting the zoo in December and was impressed I can only imagine how it would look more spectacular in the spring and summertime.
Alexander Planck J?rgensen — Google review
Beautiful park. And I highly recommend staying there. You need two days to cover it all! Snack food in the park is very overpriced, but you are allowed to bring your own food into the park, so next time I will just be bringing more. Overall, great experience and highly recommend.
Tori L — Google review
Absolutely brilliant experience. It's one of the best zoos I have visited. Enclosures are well kept and very spacious. The bears are a must-see. You won't be disappointed. Well maintained and very clean. All the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Will return!
Stacy Drury — Google review
it offers a memorable experience. From majestic pandas to exotic birds, the variety of animals is astounding. The lush, well-maintained enclosures mimic natural habitats, ensuring animal well-being. The park's architecture and gardens are amazing, complementing the animal exhibits. Dining options and engaging shows make it a full-day adventure. A delightful family outing, Pairi Daiza brings conservation and education to life.
Dani Baal — Google review
Omg I wish to go back lot of times to the zoo. It’s not right to call Pairi Daiza a zoo. It’s rather a royal animal kingdom. You would get to see a variety of animals, birds, ambiences and habitats as per need of the animals. The place is huge so keep some good stamina to roam around but ensure you cover everything nicely and not miss out any of the beauty preserved inside. If you wish to frequently visit, the annual pass is a better option. Time flies inside there so plan the internal stuff nicely. Make the most out of the visit. And it’s cute to see animal’s getting feeded in their lunch times. If you are an animal lover, this place is heaven for you.
Swapnali Palande (Swappycapturesyou) — Google review
Best zoo in Belgium, you can observe lots of animals in a close distance. For many of them , especially the big ones like elephants or gorillas, they have very huge place to live in. The train is one thing you can’t miss, on the train you can take a good look to the elephants domain, witch what is hard to visit by foot. The whole zoo is base on a old monastery “Cambron” and it’s beautiful. The beer “Cambron” blonde, I like it very much also.
?? — Google review
Most probably the best zoo experience. I can imagine that all zoos should be like this - proper zones for animals, and good conditions. This place is probably the closest you will get short of a full safari. Great experience for kids. All places are built to be easily visited by kids, most areas are accessible with strollers. I recommend a full day. There is enough parking for everyone. Be sure to pay for the parking when buying your entrance.
Daniel Portik — Google review
A park is not cheap. But worth it!!! Giant! You have to come for a long time to have time to walk around and see all the animals. There are original animals that are not found in other zoos in Belgium. The guest rooms are amazing!! Worth every euro. the stay the cleanliness. And value for money.

Pairi Daiza covers an expansive area of approximately 140 acres, making it one of the largest zoos in Europe. The park is divided into different themed areas, each representing a specific region or habitat, such as the African Savannah, Indonesian Archipelago, and Kingdom of Ganesha. This place is home to a diverse range of animal species from around the world. Visitors can encounter animals like elephants, giraffes, lions, tigers, pandas, gorillas, penguins, and many more. The zoo places an emphasis on providing spacious and natural habitats for the animals, allowing them to thrive in environments that closely resemble their natural habitats. Alongside the animal exhibits, Pairi Daiza features stunning botanical gardens with a vast collection of plants and flowers. The gardens are beautifully landscaped, showcasing various themed areas like the Japanese Garden, Chinese Garden, and Rose Garden. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks, admire the colorful displays, and experience a tranquil atmosphere.
These include ancient buildings, temples, pagodas, and other structures imported from different countries, creating an immersive experience reminiscent of a journey around there . Additionally, educational activities and interactive exhibits are available to inform visitors about wildlife conservation and environmental awareness. Great zoo! My first time visiting a zoo of this size, it took us a whole day to see each animal, amazing place, well kept and clean. All the animals looked happy and healthy. Would love to come back again soon!
Catherine Griffiths — Google review
Definitely one of the most beautiful zoos you can visit.
The entrance feels like Disneyland & throughout the whole park there are amazing buildings and landscapes. Animal enclosures are integrated in their surroundings.
The park has restaurants and there are places to sit everywhere.
Besides having pandas! the park has a very nice selection of animals. White tigers, beautiful birds, elephants, rhinos, etc.
The park app has a map which makes it very easy to locate everything you need. Sadly it only seems to be in French but it could be I missed a setting somewhere.
This is not a cheap outing: entrance, food, merchandise, etc all cost a fair amount of money. Bringing some drinks and sandwiches is not a bad idea.
However you can easily spend the whole day here if you want to see & do everything.
In my opinion, it's well worth the money considering how lovely this zoo is.
B rammetje — Google review
Great zoo, with a lot of animals and plants. We chose to stay there for one night, so we had the opportunity to see the park for two days. The dinner and the breakfast was with a lot of choices and we enjoyed them a lot.
Joan Jani — Google review
It is really the best zoo in Europe for sure. We stayed in Tiger house hotel, where you can see tigers from above. And we loved it.. Park is really big, but if you stay the night, then there is great service also with taking bags in reception.. and then the bags will be delivered to your room.. And the same when you check out.. just leave the bags in room, and you will get them in reception when checking out..

One of the best zoo I've ever been to in the world. It's worth every penny. They have pandas! And the attention to detail will blow your mind. It is the most unique zoo and it's huge.
Christine Butler — Google review
Actually, known as the one of the best zoos in Europe I had many expectations. And I was quite disappointed. It’s more like fun park than something showing real wildlife. It’s really cool for people looking for fun and something big, but I was just hoping for more natural vibes. And Christmas music playing around the whole area, even after Christmas was enough for me. The one thing that really gets me the wow was walrus, because I’ve never seen it. Next time, I’d prefer Zoo Leipzig, this is not worth so much money for me.
Linda Valeriánová — Google review
Love this place.
Yearly passes have also made life easier as we don’t try to do as much as possible in a day but take the time to relax and enjoy with the kids! Activities around St Nick were also fun and Christmas lights are a big hit too.

Nice and beautiful zoo and park. Many places for picnic, food corners, for chilling. And pandas 😍
Parking costs 10 euro per day and a lot of space for parking. Tip: animals more active after 15:00. Before, most of them were sleeping. Most of all we liked Chinese area, very beautiful 👍
Have a great time, guys 😉
Tyne Cot Cemetery is the largest Commonwealth military cemetery in the world. It contains graves of thousands of soldiers who died during World War I. The cemetery also has a visitor centre where people can learn more about the war and the soldiers who fought in it.
The biggest Common Wealth memorial cemetery. It has a moving contrast between what happened here 100 years ago and the now quiet surrounding. 12.000 soldiers are buried here and another 35.000 names engraved.
Bart Eekhaut — Google review
There are many war graves in this area of northern Belgium but Tyne Cot is one of the largest. It is the place of rest for almost 12,000 Commonwealth servicemen who fell in the great war, over 8,000 of them unidentified.
It is immaculately kept by the War Graves Commission it is probably the most haunting place I have ever visited. As well as the usual ranks of headstones there is an excellent museum that has a permanently rolling video of photos and details of all the young men lost on the Ypres Salient.
Whatever your views on war are this is a very important location and deserves all the upkeep it needs. It is also very near many smaller cemeteries as well as Ypres and the Menin Gate.
Ian Seville — Google review
Absolutely sobering place. You never realize the staggering numbers of soldiers who lost thier lives until you visit Tybe Cot and other cemeteries in the area.
al leclaire — Google review
Largest CWGC cemetery in the world. Very moving. It is beautifully kept. We parked on the back side, lots of parking. We walked around to the front entrance and exited through the back which is in the center alcove. I went back in the morning and found the grave of Canadian VC winner James Peter Robertson, in Plot 58.
Rob Woolsey — Google review
A visit to Tyne Cot takes all words from you, there are no adjectives to describe the horrors that these men must have endured before their untimely slaughter. Nearly 8 and half thousand of the 11,000 + are nameless unidentified souls. With some headstones marking the resting place of several men. And yet as large as it is, Tyne Cot only represents a fraction of the 9.7 million soldiers who died during the Great War. The cross and sword memorial is built atop a German blockhouse. You can see the concrete of the original structure through the wreath that celebrates its capture by the 3rd Australian Division.

❤️ Lest we forget ❤️
It wasn't my first visit today at Tyne Cot Cemetery but every time I do it silences me completely. To think and realise that so many brave men gave their (young) lives so we could live in freedom... RESPECT!
Bless them all 🏵️
Tyne Cot Cemetery is the largest Commonwealth Cemetery worldwide. Very beautiful and superbly well maintained.
Thank you all!
Pascale S. — Google review
A harrowing experience. Having never been to a cemetery of this size, I was blown away by the shear scale of it all. The place was very well upkept with all grass cut short and all of the large plaques kept clean like they were new. A must go for any coach holiday passing through and any tourists in the region. Only issue it's the toilets which you pay for, otherwise it is all free
Edward Hagreen — Google review
Such a very solemn place. Entering as they asked us definitely took our breath away. The numerous head stones all lined up- some named and some not. While we were here they had finally layer to rest a soldier last Friday that had been discovered.. so its truly breath taking and definitely shows the sacrifice to the Great War nations gave. Please take the tour- the tour guides are definitely knowledgeable and gave us more information than we had already thought we knew of this area.
Rob T — Google review
A great place of remembrance that symbolises the loss in war, very heart touching and beautiful to watch but sad to see many lives lost in the war. But we may never forget them!
M21 — Google review
Tyne Cot Cemetery is a beautiful and yet solemn place of rest for thousands of young men who, over a hundred years ago, left their homes to fight so we can have our today. Thousands more with just their names etched on the wall who are still missing where they fought and died. Expertly and lovingly kept by the CWGC.
Simon Knott — Google review
The scale of conflict in the Great War is made starkly apparent at Tyne Cot, where the rows of crisp white Commonwealth Graves face the poppy fields of Flanders where the war was fought. A small visitor centre outlines the history of the site. Toilets cost €2.
Tim Nutt — Google review
A very sobering spot, the visitors centre is well done and a good introduction to the memorial and cemetery. For a NZer seeing the panels with all the names of NZ soldiers whose bodies were never found brought a tear to the eye.
kiwisflythecoop nz — Google review
Incredibly sobering, but a beautiful calm place to pay respect.
United Kingdom units are inscribed on Panels arranged by Regiment under their respective Ranks, helpful for locating lost ancestors.
Jo G — Google review
The largest Commonwealth war cemetery of the Great War. So many names, so many missing, so many without a known resting place. Such a moving cemetery, well maintained and with a register & plan (like many of the larger Commonwealth cemeteries) making it easy to find a family member's grave.
I was able to find a family member on the wall, died in 1917, and who my Uncle researched and wrote a book about 'To Grow Young'; the story, albeit very short, tells the story of Sergeant Major Fred Talbot, a cavalryman in 1914. He went to war in 1914 and was killed in 1917, a Captain in the Tank Corp.
So little is known about so many. The sheer size left me with an almost overwhelming feeling of sadness but also anger that so many gave their lives when it was so unnecessary. Listening for just a few minutes to the commentary of names as you enter the visitor centre is very poignant. I can't imagine what it must be like to hear the name of your loved one, your family member as you enter the centre. It must be so chilling.
Even on a late autumnal afternoon it was very moving to visit the cemetery. We visited, a small group of 8 friends, each there for our own reason, separated and wandered around for an hour, on a chilly afternoon with the sun falling in the west.
Tyne Cot Cemetery & Visitor is well worth visiting. It's also a good idea to pick up some leaflets, maybe even some maps, like the old trench maps, each of which provides a little more information and a little piece of a far larger jigsaw. I enjoyed our visit very much. There are toilets on the site by the main car park which is free, but there is a small charge of 50 cents for the toilets. There is also a disabled toilet 🚻.

Such an important site in British military history. The scale of the tragedy that occurred here cannot be understood without visiting here and seeing the thousands of inscribed names of the lost and missing.
Was also nice to find that there are several graves of German men who were buried, after all they're only human too and their graves are equally respectfully maintained.
Walibi Belgium is a seasonal amusement park located near Wavre, a city known for its historic castle and natural reserves. The park offers a mix of kids-only attractions, roller coasters, carousels, and an observation wheel. Easily accessible by train or car, the park has been entertaining visitors since 1975 and continues to introduce new thrill rides every few years.
We absolutely recommend Walibi in Belgium. The staff is super friendly. The family ambience is great.
Our favourite ride was Konda. Wow! Such thrills. We recommend to get speedy passes, specially the infinite one that you can once you are at the park.
LGBT+ couples like us feel at home. Really not a single person stared at us or seemed uncomfortable. 🏳️🌈
Good job Walibi!

Very nice theme park. Well maintenance but very poor capacity. Waiting time at least 45 minutes for the extreme rides.
Speedy ticket is recommended in order to reduce waiting time.
Would love to go back again!

It’s one of the biggest amusement parks in Belgium. Lots of thrilling roller coasters, like the standout Kondaa, and immersive themed areas. Despite occasional crowds and long waits, the park's diverse attractions and friendly atmosphere make it a top choice for families and thrill-seekers seeking a fun-filled day in Europe. Would recommend to use the app to check out the wait times for each ride to plan your next ride
The place has ♿accessible Parking’s and toilets

Super fun for everyone! It’s great to start the day with Aqualibi and then go to the main park! Walibi is full of attractions and everyone will find something for themselves! Food in the park in okay but unfortunately lacks healthy options so be prepared! Overall, great fun for a day or two not so far from Brussels :)
Can’t wait for them to reopen in October 2021! :)

Very nice park,
The atmosphere is great there .
Some coasters are a bit old and should be replaced, however the newer attractions are so nicely done that I can look over the other ones.
It has something for everyone in there no matter how old you are.
The fast pass is very worth it, I can only recommend it on a crowded day.

Very nice, clean, well maintained themepark. Good variety of food establishments throughout the park. All toilets very clean, sometimes a bit hidden. Waiting times for the attractions were very low, when we visited. The fastpass system works really well. Would recommend this themepark.

Very fun, recommend buying tickets in advance, makes it easier. The rides are very nice. You can buy food and souvenirs there. There are also little games like a claw machine or trying to throw a ball in a bucket and more games similar to this. You must visit this attraction park at least once in your life. But make sure you download the app walibi Belgium, because it really helps out if you need a quick check which tides have the smallest wait time. The wait time can be big, it can vary around 0-50min, I suggest going to the shorter times first if you want to go on more rides. But I think the day matters, if there's a special occasion like Halloween, there will definitely be a lot of people. Although it's very nice on Halloween, spooky. So in summary, it's very nice, I recommend going.

Went for the halloween event this weekend, it surely was amazing! Very nice to have been back to Walibi. I Would recommended a fast pass tho', otherwise waiting lines for attractions are over an hour.

We love this place when there are no public Holidays, otherwise it is not fun to visit because of the crowd and long cues.
What we love is that there is now a special place for kids starting 1 meter to be able to have some atractions (I think a total of 5 atractions, like the mini version of the Dalton) in a protected/ closed area.
The kids just love it, there is also an open outdoor playground on the other side of the park, that is huge for them to have fun.
For us it was more advantageous to buy a subscription, because we planned to go more than one time. You can than also buy a subscription that is much more intresting for the parking.
Perfect during summer holidays or no rainy days.
My kids love it (that started when 3 and 4, and now 4 and 5, stil loving it)

Very good parc, we enjoyed our Journey there, there is so much choice for the games, it was crowded in the middle of the journey and some times we spend too much time waiting our turn, that's why at last we prefered to choose the games according to the least waiting time and that's the reason why we enjoyed it, we didn't waste too much time...

A very nice park with a good variety of rides for all ages. We love the water park and the food options. Our only complaint is how early dining closes and the seemingly random hours. Season pass is worth the money.

Had a blast at this park. You don’t need more than a day though. The coasters are fun and it has a great atmosphere.
We were treated very badly by 1 employee though. Spent over half an hour at guest service but they spoke no english or dutch (only french) which made it very annoying to file a complaint.
But besides that, we had a good day. Werewolf and kondaa were my favourite coasters. All the others are fun to do as well. Would definitely recommend a visit!

It was my first time riding a roller coaster and it was simply PHENOMENAL. The variety and safety of each roller coaster is unbelievable for a newbie. It was a thrill!

It was Halloween, rainy and cold and a bit crowded when I was over there. The rides were fun and enjoyable, the attractions were also really interesting. The freaks show was really entertaining and fun. It was a nice experience for me!

Adequate security measures. Attractions were in optimal conditions. There is sufficient public space for rest and freshen up. Clean restrooms easy to find. Attractions for small children (0.90 meters) are week spread all over the park.
While there is an interesting online app, I was under the impression that it is not so precise. Hence, one suggestion would be to check the map. It is not necessarily user friendly.

My children and I love Walibi. We don't live too far away so visit regularly, occasionally it can be a little bit too busy, but generally we find the queue times reasonable. The park over the years is always being constantly improved. Always very clean and plenty of toilets.
Some brilliant rides, my kids love the kondaa and my favourite is the pulsar.
My children will have some great childhood memories from Walibi!

I came for Kondaa from germany. 40 - 60 mins waiting times and only one train in operation!
This ride can double the capacity but their answer to the question why they didnt do it: not enough people.
So how much waiting time does this park want? 1:30??
The stuff operated great! Fast, super friendly but i dont get why this park wants people to spend their whole visit in the rain at 6 degrees standing in the line.
Its one of the best parks in europe and one of the greatest roller coasters too. But the decision how stuff is run ruins the whole experience.

The best amusement park in Belgium and one of the best in Europe. Not the first time there for me and my family, but we have seen this time the Halloween arrangements and they are really impressive.
Cezar Neculae — Google review
This was a great park! It is good for the whole family, but the roller coasters are better for older kids. Vampire, Weerwolf, and Cobra are pretty painful, so avoid these if you don’t want a headache. Kondaa is a MUST do. We unfortunately had to buy speedy passes for 50€ each because we wanted to make sure we rode everything. The speedy passes really slow down the normal lines which is annoying if you don’t buy them. Overall, this park is great for all ages, but if you have small kids, there are better parks that have more kid rides and kid coasters.
Daisy Plyler — Google review
Lovely place. We enjoyed a lot. Some improvements may be implemented: it closes early, no coffee choices and only coffee served inside the buffets is not a good one either. Too much smoking around. And the waiting times were too long. Looking forward to visit again.

The attractions were truly remarkable ! However, we encountered an issue with a staff member at the boat attraction. Thankfully, a manager promptly intervened, resolved the problem, and even generously provided our entire family with speed line tickets (which we greatly appreciated). Nonetheless, certain parts of the park appear to require maintenance.
Another thing ,make sure that the QR code (photos) are working, we didn't get ours, they have an issue in there website ( it's been 3 days nothing yet.
P.S : Attraction lines can become quite length.
The Manneken Pis is a bronze sculpture of a small boy urinating in a fountain. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Brussels and is an embodiment of Belgian humour and rebellious spirit.
Visited this place which is one of the tourist attractions of the city. The lanes and the surrounding showcase the old golden era of Belgium and city of brussels. Lot of old building and old rides are attractive. Many statues in this area symbolic to many beliefs of the people in the country. These lanes have many restaurants too where u can enjoy waffles and other food items. U also can have horse cart ride and enjoy the street musicians there performing in front of crowd.

This is also a must do if you come to Brussels....but don't expect it to be huge and magnificent..... it's actually really small. Small doesn't mean unrelevant, or to be disregarded. It's like an awkwardness!
This little guys is being dressed differently all the time. And the streets to to it are beautiful

A small statue of a naked boy child pissing is kept in the famous square. Has a historical significance.
The original statue is kept in the Belgium museum as it was stolen so many times. This one's a replica.
And there's always a huge crowd to watch this statue. The irony is there isn't a single restroom available nearby, if you felt like pissing!
There are many shops lined on the road towards the Statue from the Grand Square, you can't miss the crowds.
A restaurant right next to the statue has a huge queue as well for people wanting to fine here.
I loved a Lace shop exactly diagonal to the Statue. It has lovely white & Black lace objects like handkerchief, decorative items, artifacts, etc made from white Belgian lace which was once a very handy, delicate & famous Art form. I bought myself a White laced Umbrella for thirty Euros from this shop as I am a big fan of hand made articles, as I come from India.

I wonder why so many people gather to see this little statue of a boy pissing! It is a success of promoting a city! They prepare different clothes for the boy on special occasions and you can see its previous clothes in a museum just a fifty meters up the street from the statue. To avoid crowds, visit the statue early in the morning

The Delightful Charm of Manneken Pis
Manneken Pis, the tiny bronze statue, is a delightful gem nestled in the heart of Brussels. Despite its modest size, the playful spirit and quirky personality of this little guy bring joy to visitors. The tradition of dressing him in various costumes adds a whimsical touch to the experience, reflecting the city's sense of humor and creativity. While it may not be a monumental landmark, Manneken Pis holds a special place in Brussels' cultural tapestry, reminding us that even the smallest things can leave a big impression.

Icon of Brussels, small than expected but interesting tourist point. Unfortunately I did not visited in one of the special costumes were used, however is the same street you can find a place that you have all costumes exposure. Interesting fact, the original one is in a museum, the one on the street is a replica.

30/04/22: having been to Brussels 4 times, it is only in the last few years that I have documented places I've visited, as a part of my Google legacy. This time in Brussels I was celebrating my Stag Do with 18 friends. Probably one of the most famous photo opportunities in the whole of Brussels. Scout Day today, hence the little wee lad was eventually dressed as a Boy Scout!

The symbol of Brussels, a bronze figure of a naked peeing boy. Those who see it for the first time may be disappointed by its greatness. Always surrounded by crowds of tourists, Manneken Pis is often dressed up in different outfits. Around delicious Belgian snacks: waffles and fries.

From everything I’ve seen here in Belgium, Mannekin Pis sums it up. I don’t understand how this became emblematic of this city but it embodies the charm and overall fun Brussels is. It was not dressed in a costume today but there were lots of tourists taking photos. Very close to the Grand Place where you can enjoy the smells and tastes of waffles and chocolate.

It’s really cute but a bit overrated. The statue is really small. I was there a few times during a day just to check the if the dress is different, but I realised that it’s one costume per day from 9am to 6pm. Close to the Grand Place, iconic place for Brussels

Everyone knows how tiny it is in real life🤭 When we visited The Order of the Friends of Manneken Pis (I think) was hosting some sort of induction ceremony, and had it dressed up in a robe and hat so kinda obscured anyone’s view. But it was a friendly gathering nonetheless.

Translated as "Little Pee Man" in Dutch, this small bronze statue depicts a naked little boy urinating into a fountain basin. The statue, created in the early 17th century, has become a symbol of Brussels' irreverent and playful spirit. Its exact origins are somewhat shrouded in legend, with various stories attributing its creation to different historical events or figures.Manneken Pis has a rich history of being dressed up in different costumes, often representing various occasions, festivals, or cultural themes. These costumes are donated by individuals, organizations, or even foreign dignitaries, and they are changed periodically, adding to the statue's whimsical allure.Despite its diminutive size, Manneken Pis holds a significant place in Brussels' cultural identity, and it continues to be a popular tourist attraction, drawing visitors from around the world who come to see this iconic symbol of Brussels' quirky charm and sense of humor.

The Grand Place is a stunning ensemble of baroque guildhalls, representing the wealth and power of the Brussels guilds in the 17th century.
The ornate facades, with their intricate details, sculptures, and gilding, are a feast for the eyes.
Two prominent buildings flank the square: the Gothic Brussels Town Hall with its towering spire and the neo-gothic Maison du Roi (King's House), now housing the Brussels City Museum.

Initiated around 1837, the project led by the young architect Jean-Pierre Cluysenaer aimed to revitalize a disadvantaged neighborhood by constructing a building that would accommodate residential units, shops, cultural venues, and recreational areas. Construction commenced in 1846, and the official inauguration occurred on June 20, 1847, with the presence of Leopold I.
The place formerly known as the Umbrella of Brussels was designed in the Florentine Renaissance style. Its most notable feature is the ingenious glass roof, supported by a series of self-supporting arches. The roof is adorned with fish-scale style tiles, which enhance ventilation and prevent condensation.
Royal Gallery of Saint Hubert is a great place for shopping and browsing, both for locals and tourists. I can say that it offers a shelter from the unpredictable Belgian weather. There are a variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes, with a focus on chocolate ateliers and gift shops.
The prices at the mall are higher compared to regular shops, as they mostly offer luxurious gifts and souvenirs.
It is a pleasant place to spend time and admire beautiful things. The mall tends to be crowded during the day.

Nice galleries, restaurants and many shops, especially with sweets.
If you are visiting Brussels, you can pass through the galleries on the way from the Grote Markt to the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula.

The Gothic Saint Bavo's Cathedral is a famous Flemish art landmark and the place where Holy Roman Emperor Charles V was baptised. The church is just a short walk from the belfry, which offers amazing views of famous Flemish art within the cathedral. There are also several museums close by, including Huis van Alijn, which showcases how people lived in 12th century Ghent.
Absolutely worth it to get the VR headset and learn the history of the Van Eyck altarpiece before viewing. We would have missed so much info if we hadn't. Advised to get tickets online ahead of time. If they have enough slots open, they'll let you in day of. So beautiful in person. Just breathtaking. No photo ever does it justice.

Amazing, it's like a small Vatican, the art and sculpture are quite simply superb. It is clearly much loved and cared for. Ghent is quite possibly the most beautiful medieval city in northern Europe. The architecture is astonishing. We will be returning for a longer stay.

The Ghent Alter is very impressive! Don't forget to peak behind to see the outside panels when they are closed! The cathedral is very impressive. This is worth a stop in Ghent!

I don't know what to say other than "you need to see this with your own eyes".
This is the home of the world-famous Ghent Altarpiece- one that has been stolen, hidden, sold, and kept safe for centuries. The history of the piece- and the fact that it even exists today, is a miracle! It is so much larger than you would ever imagine You think of it as something above the altar- something medium-sized. It is gigantic- it fills an entire side room where it is displayed!
I explored the entire cathedral, and paid the extra for the VR tour of the basement that included stories on how the altar was created, and what happened to it since it was first commissioned. I usually don't do these kinds of things but this was so informative, it was absolutely worth it. People walk around and talk to you- history comes to life, in a way that no other tour could do.
The cathedral is as massive as it sounds- and each floor and section is covered with beautiful carvings, paintings, and just decorated beyond belief. This was the very first stop of my trip in Belgium, and was my first venture out of Brussels where I braved the train and found it all on my own. I was very proud of myself, even though I did originally take their above ground subway in the wrong direction at first!
This is not to be missed, and it is worth spending more to learn everything you can while you are here. Read ALL the plaques, see all the things! And please donate some extra money to keep this in top condition. I always light an candle and leave money.

Nice church for the Palm Sunday celebration.
The mass is in Dutch.
Very nice and charming.
The mosaic and decoration are very beautiful and mesmerizing

The cathedral is free to go in and look around. To see the Ghent altarpiece you may need a reservation if it’s busy. Buy tickets online before or walk up to the desk and buy them there. The fee is 12.50 euro to see the altarpiece, the virtual reality headset tour costs more. The altarpiece is absolutely breathtaking. The latest restorations finished in 2020 have made it seem magical with the case it’s in and the lighting. Wow! There are souvenirs near the entrance to help you remember the altarpiece :) History at its best!

The cathedral is amazing; many chapels to explore aside from the capacious interior to goggle at. Highly recommend doing the AR tour and seeing the Ghent Altarpiece. There are also other large works viewable aside from the altarpiece on the tour.

Visiting Ghent with a group of first timers. Decided to finally check out the famous altarpiece inside St. Bavo’s cathedral. It was my first augmented reality tour and while it took some getting used it (only a couple of minutes) it was quite impressive. The augmented reality tour for €16 granted access to the underground floor of the cathedral where while wearing augmented reality goggles patrons are given the history of the famous lamb altarpiece. An audio clip plays for each part of the visit and then directs you to the next step. What was convenient was when someone bigger or taller stepped in front of you it was no problem as you saw the image playing at the time. The tour then ended with you returning the goggles and going upstairs to the cathedral to see the altarpiece in person. Having done the tour before made seeing the famous panels of the altarpiece that much more special. Highly recommend! Also we went on a hot summer day and we were grateful that it was very cool inside. Also, there are free lockers to store your cameras, purses or backpacks right outside the entrance to the augmented reality tour. All you need is to pick an available locker and then choose a code. Super easy and extremely convenient.

St. Bavo's Cathedral has its origins in a chapel from 942, dedicated to St. John Baptist, the oldest patron of the merchant city
The wealthy cloth merchants of the Middle Ages had an upper church built in 1274.
It became a Gothic masterpiece.
In 1462 the foundation stone of the tower was laid, which was completed in 1569.
Emperor Charles was baptized in this unfinished church.
In 1550 he donated a sum of money to provide the church with arched windows with stained glass.
The current high altar, made of marble, gilded wood, copper and bronze, dates from the beginning of the 18th century.
The choir contains the grave monument of Antoon Triest, one of the cathedral's greatest benefactors, and bishop of Ghent from 1621 to 1657.
The most remarkable piece of church furniture is the pulpit.
This rococo work of art was designed by Laurent Delvaux.
The most famous painting
"The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb" is housed in a specially equipped chapel.
This masterpiece is attributed to the brothers Jan and Hubert Van Eyck.
The cathedral is open every day from 8:30 am to 5 pm. Sunday from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
The cathedral can be visited for free.
To see the "Lamb of God" you pay €12.50 pp.

One of the most beautiful cathedrals I’ve ever been to in Europe. The detailed work is just amazing, the structure and up keep is impressive. I was just so amazed by the interiors of the church and the grotto of mother Mary is beautiful.
Parking is 5 minutes away at Centrum Parking and is reasonable.
If you’re in Gent, it’s a must visit. They do have paid tours but they’re timed.

Saint bavo cathedral, wow what a fantastic architecture and has huge history for this cathedral, spent around an hour just to see the architecture. Such a huge building in the middle of the city . So quite and nice to be here , amazed by the construction, must visit place when you are in gent , no tickets for the front hall , but to visit more inside then you need ticket , prices 9 euro per person . But I don’t recommend to get ticket. You can see from the hall itself .

It is one of the most prominent visual art of Ghent. This 89 meter high catholic gothic cathedral is certainly not to be missed. Needless to mention the amazing architecture and beautiful paintings that would leave you mesmerized. You can witness the Ghent altarpiece or the decorations of the mystic lamb here which is seen as the first major oil painting to gain global fame. The cathedral is open until 5:30pm and the entry is free so plan your visit accordingly. However there is a fee to view the altarpiece which is priced at 12,5 Euros.

Located in heart of Gent. Entrance is free, how ever if you want to see popular icon of this church, you have to buy a ticket (cost 16 euros, kid for 8 euros). Mosaic on window glasses are really nice. Also, there is souvenir shop inside the church.

Definitely worth the visit. Impressive architecture and obviously... The Altar.
MIND YOU - the whole upper half of the altar is being renovated and is replaced by a 1:1 photo (originals returning in 2026). At first it is difficult to spot and there is obvious information available. To see the upper pieces - visit the City' Museum.

Just to see the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb is worth a visit. It is a very beautiful altarpiece painted by Van Eyck's brother.
But the panel opens only once in the morning so if you want to see it open please check for the time. They also have the painting of the Conversation of Saint Bavo by Peter Paul Rubens here too.

The location of the world, famous altarpiece “Adoration of the Mystic Lamb“ which was painted in the 15th century by Van Eck. The altarpiece was described in the movie “monuments men“ but that is not its claim to fame. It has been stolen by a variety of invaders, including Napoleon, Austrians and Nazis, so it is a wonder that it is still intact and now in Sint Bavo (Baafs). It is currently undergoing a multi year restoration, sponsored by the Getty Museum from Los Angeles. It is in the final stage of that restoration so some of the panels have been removed, and can be observed being restored in the Ghent fine arts Museum. Which is located in another place in town in addition to the altarpiece, which requires a separate admission fee, there are numerous beautiful sculptures and final resting places of bishops and popes, rulers of Belgium, and saints. One of the nice things about visiting is that Belgium has beautiful, artwork and cathedrals, but you don’t have the crowds here that you encounter visiting equally famous places in Paris, Munich, Berlin, or other places. If you are truly interested in European and renaissance masterpieces, this would be a must stop visit on your explorations. The altarpiece is ethereal and breathtaking. It has an aura about it. The cathedral has beautiful stained glass and is well worth 2 to 3 hours each time you visit. The local neighborhood has plenty of beer bars that you can quench your thirst after you visited.

Ghent City Hall is a remarkable historical landmark located in Belgium, boasting striking architecture with two distinct styles: ornate Gothic and plainer Renaissance. The area surrounding the City Hall is pedestrianized, giving visitors the feeling of time travel to the past. There are many stunning historic buildings in the vicinity and few tourists around, making it an idyllic location for those seeking quietude. The guided tours offer a comprehensive insight into this magnificent structure's history and design.
Great for a quick site seeing expedition. Very nice Christmas market over December.

A very beautiful well restored castle. The audio guide was very helpful and you could chose and stop it whenever you like. The narrative is very funny. I went here around 1:30 pm. After I finished, the cue was long to enter the castle. So I suggest if you are visiting Ghent on a day trip to come here when they open at 10 am. I was able to get good pictures of the city of Ghent up in the tower. The stairs going up is quite narrow and lots of stairs.

Fascinating history. We were so glad we had a chance to visit the castle but the audio tour could have been much better. It tried to entertain, and I understand that no one knows exactly what went on in each of the rooms, but the droning on about everything but the actual castle's history was a waste of time. Regardless, it's fun to wind up and down the staircases, imaging what it must have been like to live here. And we loved the armory and dungeon. There are lots of steps, but worth it for the great views from the top!

Honestly, to say that I love this castle is an understatement. It's so absolutely perfect. Not just the castle, but the experience. You get an audio player that has the best narrators I've ever come across in any museum ever. The guy is absolutely hilarious and his storytelling is second to none. Further, the tour is organized in kind of like a numbered 'waypoint' based system. So you kind of feel like being inside a medieval adventurer game or a simulation. Needless to say it was extremely entertaining and full of fun facts about the castle's history and the Count and related people that lived in this castle. Highly recommended to visit. 100% worth the money.

I loved the tour. Very informative and entertaining. The castle is beautiful. For the audio tour, you get a little device and listen to it like a phone. You can go at your own pace and even when the tour is done, you can keep exploring. I would say it was worth the price we paid (less than 15 euros).
I will say there are a decent amount of steps. Nothing too strenuous, but it could be a problem for people with limited mobility.

Reason to visit this castle? I already knew this fantastic castle but my girlfriend had never been there.
Always talking about it with her, but never visiting, we decided to visit the Gravensteen.
Unfortunately it was a slightly grayer day, but that didn't take away the feeling.
The castle, which has been present in Ghent for a long time, and has been used and reused by many, is magnificent to visit.
My girlfriend could enjoy the view and the way the castle was built for a long time.
The visit itself was super good and the staff was always friendly and helpful.
From the top of the castle you have a great view over the city of Ghent.
Visit it and let yourself be surprised!

The audio tour is narrated by a Belgian comedian, focusing on the lives of the people who lived in the castle and a light-hearted way that blends history and comedy. You can move through the castle at your own pace, instead of traipsing through with a guide. We were there on a late July weekday, and there were no crowds. I would highly recommend buying tickets online ahead of time though to avoid having to stand in line at the gate. While the castle isn't furnished, there is a torture chamber downstairs that still has some of the implements. Overall, this was a really interesting and fun to her of a really spectacular piece of medieval architecture that lets you get a glimpse into life in another era. Loved it!

Considering it was raining very heavily, I enjoyed going round the castle. There is a lot of rooms inside thankfully. Audio guides were good but could have included more history and fewer jokes. The outer wall had no hand rails and we did worry that people and especially children could fall, the drop is quite considerable.

It is a quite old castle and the main function is a castle to protect the city.
The audio guide is free but it speaks too long before entering the point, so don't pay much attention to it. The castle is very cold, please prep your gear accordingly.
At night it is quite beautiful too. If you stay around here, you can come by and get some pictures at night.

A super attraction for an hour or two that I'd heartily recommend visiting if in Ghent. It's walking distance from the centre of town and a pleasant place.
It's not a massive castle, it is simple but it has history and is well maintained. (It has the first ever chimney in Belgium!) Don't expect a fancy or big castle, just a well maintained piece of Belgian history.
Get the audio tour, and even if it is a little annoying at times you get a good intro to the building's history.

This was the first location we visited in Gent and we couldn’t be happier with our choice! If you are visiting DO NOT miss out on the audioguides (included in the price of the ticket) - there isn’t much written information around the castle so not only are they essential to understanding the place’s history but they are wildly entertaining. I’m usually impatient with audio guides but I couldn’t help but listen to each point with this one - funny, engaging, well-written and delivered, a highlight of the experience in this beautiful castle.

A lovely castle in the middle of town, easily accessible and with great views all around. The audio tour is amusing for almost anyone, although personally as a history fan I would have liked a bit more history in it. I think this is easily worth an hour of any visitors time for 10 euros

Ghent's Gravensteen castle offers a fascinating glimpse into medieval history. The highlight of the visit for me was the exceptional audio guide. The narrator's engaging and humorous delivery kept the tour light and entertaining, while still providing informative insights. Each room held its own story, brought to life by the narrator's witty personal inferences
The earlier rooms of the Gravensteen house some truly captivating displays. Impressive suits of armor and gleaming weapons are showcased in central displays throughout the rooms. The audio guide provides interesting details about the different types of armor and weapons, making history come alive. You'll learn about the challenges faced by knights clad in heavy armor, which was wooing women
I highly recommend Gravensteen to anyone visiting Ghent. The informative audio guide, intriguing historical setting, and captivating displays of armor and weaponry make it a worthwhile stop.

A castle that we would have liked to visit, being half a day in Ghent on 11.03.2024. Although I entered the official website the day before and on the day we wanted to visit it (tickets could be bought), nothing was announced. When we arrived at the castle, the gate was locked and there was a poster only in Flemish announcing that "exceptionally it is closed only today". Very cool. Four stars for the castle, zero for the administrators.

The Atomium is a massive, stainless steel structure with escalators connecting its particles. It was built for the 1958 Brussels World's Fair and now houses various exhibitions. Older children will enjoy the sights, while toddlers will appreciate the miniature versions of Europe displayed inside. The Atomium is only open to group overnight visits and there is no kids sphere available onsite.
An excellent attraction. Easy to get into, a reasonable cafe and gift shop at the entrance/exit. Lots of interesting information about the building. Exciting and interesting art installations to provide something to post online! A fabulous view from the top.
The only slight issue is the queue for the lift to the top. It takes about half an hour but is well worth it. The queue to come down is much shorter.

A good place which is the information about its history and construction. The lift takes you directly to the uppermost sphere from where you can watch the city all around. The other spheres can be explored only after coming down. The audio visual display could have been better.

While this is a Brussels landmark it’s really rather boring. It looks impressive from the outside, but you can save your money & look at it from the outside. The interior is an observation level on the top which is only 95 meters high. I’d recommend not paying to go in. The coolest thing is at the end they have some funky lights going up and down the last escalators.

Personally I don’t think the view from up there is amazing or even breath-taking but just beautiful. I think it’s ok if you want to visit it provided that you have already visited the other more worth-visiting places in Brussels such as mini-Europe or European Parliament. Baring in mind all above, the amount of 16€ that you have to pay is too much unless you are a student and have a student card - in that case you pay 8.50€.
However, if you are interested in the atom composition you can enjoy your stay a little more there.
Spiros Samarikas — Google review
Worth the trip and fun to see but the tickets are expensive for such a short visit. We parked in the Mini-Europe parking lot which added an additional 12 Euro cost. The best pictures from our family visit were the free ones taken outside the building. I would recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time, it will save waiting in line and avoid possibility being sold out. When entering, you will be directed to wait for an elevator to an observation deck. We were not initially allowed to use stairs or escalators. After the observation deck, the elevator will take you back to the ground floor where you will then go through the light display escalators, exhibits and museum. At first I was worried the whole visit was only the observation deck because we had no other option but to go back into the elevator to the ground floor. But this was not the case. The light displays were fun and enjoyable. It really is an impressive landmark.

A must do if you are in Brussels. What a construction piece!!!! was extremely futuristic when built prior 1960s.
You better take tickets online as I forgot and could not take them on the same day and needed to stay in the cue for almost an hour.
The tour takes approximately an hour , once you manage to go in. You can read about its construction, you have a nice view up there and have a light and sound show.

This was such a pretty place especially when the sun hits it correctly. With the tour it’s 16 euros per person and 8.5 for kids. A little pricy but you can combine it with the Little Europe tickets! I definitely recommend for a good view and lovely photos! Overall a 4.5 just because the top is a little boring as you will probably only stay up there for a 10 minute experience. But the light shows and the glowing escalators made up for it and was absolutely beautiful!

My visit to the Atomium in Brussels was an absolute delight! The futuristic architecture of this iconic landmark left me in awe. It's a must-visit attraction that truly stands out in the city's skyline.
I highly recommend experiencing the light exhibition while at the Atomium. The dazzling display added a whole new dimension to the visit and made the entire experience even more memorable. It was a fantastic way to appreciate the structure in a different light, quite literally!
Booking the tickets online was a smart decision, as it helped me avoid the long lineup and save valuable time. With the place being busy, it's definitely a tip worth following to make the most of your visit.
One of the highlights for me was discovering the lovely picnic spots around the Atomium. The picturesque surroundings provided a perfect setting to relax, enjoy some delicious snacks, and take in the beautiful views.
All in all, the Atomium is a must-see attraction in Brussels, and the light exhibition is a great way to enhance the experience. Whether you're a history buff or simply looking to admire stunning architecture, this place won't disappoint. Plan ahead, get your tickets online, and don't forget to bring some snacks for a delightful picnic experience!

It's a nice place but it's out of the way from most tourist attractions.
I tried taking the tram but there was some type of service interruption and the tram was stopped earlier. I had to pay $30 for an Uber each way. Plus the tickets are $16 each for something that's not even a real museum.

Really great to see it from the outside and it's pretty cool when you're up there. Also a good photo opportunity. Although the price of the tickets doesn't justify it unless you understand and appreciate the history and architecture and spend the time reading everything on the tour.

Was genuinely a great experience. Loved the vivid light show as well, definitely a pleasant surprise. Interesting and informative exhibits.
Free ticket to the design museum included in ticket price.

Well worth the visit. The view from the outside is stunning. The view from the inside is stunning. The light art installations add so much to the experience. Enjoyed the history of it as well. A little something for everyone. Well worth putting in the time to visit.

Day well spent given weather is ideal.

It's amazing! A real work of art, engineering and architecture. I've passed by it a couple of times over the past few years and I've always been amazed by it, but, unfortunately, I never got the chance to visit inside. Finally, this summer I chose to tick it off from the bucket list and I'm so glad I did it! First of all, approaching the park and seeing the Atomium from afar leaves you speechless because it's something you can't find anywhere else. The exhibition at the lower levels shows the whole history and construction process of the building it's so interesting and enriched by photos, documents and flyers from the '50s. Seeing the initial designs and then what it turned up to be, proves that the human mind is capable of grand things! The ID#2021 - Symbol exhibition is a full immersion in sound & light. Simply mind-blowing.
Going from one sphere to the other is exciting and getting to the upper sphere and enjoy the panorama is really great.
If you happen to be in Brussels, you definitely have to reserve a couple of hours to fully enjoy the Atomium!
Fabiola Falsetti — Google review
There are two parts of a visit. First, you take the staircase to levels and enjoy light shows with music. Second, come back downstairs and queue for the elevator. The elevator takes you to watch tower part where one can have higher look at view. Tickets can be purchased in the entrance (with combination of Mini Europe optionally).

The Atomium in Brussels is often praised for its unique and futuristic design, offering panoramic views of the city from its observation decks. Visitors appreciate the historical significance of this iconic building from the 1958 World Expo. Its interconnected spheres provide an interesting museum experience with exhibits about the Expo and the structure itself. Overall, it's considered a must-see attraction in Brussels.

Highly recommend going early as it can get quite busy.
Beautiful building from the world fair.
It's a fantastic experience, the panoramic view at the top isn't all that great since there isn't much buildings around.
However the exhibitions are quite interesting and fascinating as it takes you through the history of the world fair and the construction of the building itself.
Also there are some nice light shows in some parts of the exhibition.
Keep in mind that you will have to use stairs in some parts of the building.

Loved the attraction, very interesting building. Good views from the globe's. Easy to get to from the city. Bad points were: huge queue to get a ticket to get in. Also the internal queue once your in for the lift was taking almost 1hr (so we didn't bother with the lift to the highest point).

Very nice place, with panoramic views of the city.
You have to queue for 10-15 min to take the elevator and go up, I recommend taking tickets online to avoid the queue for the ticket too.
Arrived at the top, games of lights accompanied the visit.
Recommended as a monument symbol of the city a bit 'far from the center but easily accessible.

I was not sure about this place and almost missed it, but finally decided to visit it - I’m very happy that I did it, it’s great.
The construction is impressive, very photogenic. View from the top is great, the whole city is visible. I really like the light exhibition inside, almost psychotic (in a positive manner).
If you are not sure if you should to see it, the answer is yes, you should.

An amazing piece of architecture that harkens back to a time where anything felt possible in Europe. Built in the 1950s, The Atomium feels as futuristic now as I imagine it did back then.
The queue was roughly an hour, but it was a busy weekend so I guess that is to be expected. Although the queue was large, it never felt busy or packed once we were inside.
The restaurant at the top was fantastic, I would recommend a traditional Belgium beer and a traditional Belgian waffle if you don’t want to break the bank too much. The views were spectacular.
The light show inside one of the “balls” was phenomenal. A technological marvel only triumphed by the marvel of the “building” itself.
The Worlds Fair museum in another of the “balls” was fascinating. Why don’t we have a Worlds Fair anymore?!
This is a must for anyone visiting Brussels!

I left it bit late to get here so the queues were pretty busy with other tourists and school kids. Def recommend buying your ticket before hand or being there early just before they open or leave it until the end of the day. The structure can be seen for miles around, even from the big wheel in the city. Its an impressive building and one of the must see attractions in Brussels.
The parkland surrounding the site is great for a picnic afterwards. Plenty of paid parking on site but there is a tram stop nearby if you don't want to take the car. From the city its a good 90 minutes walk but a pleased walk nonetheless.

It's a worthy place to watch. Great view and scenic photos. Big parks and quite crowded on weekends. It ia good to purchase tickets in advance to avoid long wait lines. It can be accessed through metro or day tour bus. Highly recommended.

Excellent attraction when visiting Brussels or Belgium, Mark, not overly priced and we waited a little while, but it was a weekend to be expected. Places to eat and drink nearby are limited, but they are available. A great experience, and one that I would definitely recommend to take some fantastic pictures, and experience the whole elevation

Only half a year ago I found out that such an object exists in Europe 🫣 I was interested. I liked it even more after seeing it live, the object is exceptional. I didn't go inside, I didn't wait in lines. Since the weather was good, I enjoyed the view with a cup of coffee and a waffle🧇☕️

A lovely full day out to this here with some amazing parks with this popular attraction. The Atomium certainly doesn't disappoint, unlike Mini Europe (a separate attraction) which its capitols in minature form, did look a little worse for ware - buildings, figures collapsed or boats flooded. Like the message it tried to convey itself about the European Union - it was very tiring, boring and desperately needed updating.

It's a wonderful place to visit, really not what you expect when you go inside. It's lots of fun, but the queue to the top floor is super long. And also check out the mini Europe while you are there.

It’s a must. This place is special for many reasons, it certainly holds a lot of history and offers a great view from Brussels. I visited during a week day early in the morning and it got busy quite fast. I recommend going early and getting the tickets in advance. You can take about an hour there. It’s outside the city center. If you have a private car or mobility, all good but if you don’t, you can take the metro (which is included in the Brussels card). They have a historical part, with information on the building itself and everything that is behind it and they also offer exhibitions. Every sphere is a different story so give it a chance and visit the Atomium!

Be prepared to wait and spend a lot of time. Usually there are a lot of people. Designed for the 1958 World's Fair, the Atomium represents a magnified iron crystal unit cell.
Its nine steel spheres connected by tubes offer a unique and futuristic look.

Our visit to the Atomium turned out to be a delightful surprise, as we embarked on an adventure to discover one of Brussels' most iconic landmarks.
Initially drawn to the Atomium by its inclusion in a top 10 list of must-see attractions, we found ourselves thoroughly immersed in a day filled with exploration and wonder. While the Atomium itself offered a relatively brief experience, the surrounding area and nearby parks provided ample opportunities for additional discovery and enjoyment.
Ascending and descending the Atomium proved to be quite the feat, however, the effort was more than rewarded by the breathtaking views awaiting us at the summit. From this vantage point, we were treated to a panoramic spectacle that captured the essence of Brussels in all its splendor.
Overall, our visit to the Atomium was a memorable and enriching experience, offering a perfect blend of architectural marvel, natural beauty, and family-friendly adventure. It's a testament to the enduring allure of this iconic structure and its ability to captivate visitors of all ages.
Belfry of Bruges is a medieval bell tower in Bruges, Belgium that is home to a 366-step staircase leading to views. The tower also features a treasure chamber and 47-belled carillon. The Belfry is master of the Bruges skyline and former regulator of town life thanks to its impressive bell collection.
It is rustic and awesome. There are lots visitors. Better buy your tickets soon to secure your place at your convenience. In addition, while using the machine to buy your tickets just scroll down and check buy otherwise you will be giving up on purchasing the tickets. That said, I enjoyed climbing the 366 steps of the tour. At each level, there is a kind of rest place: view and learn something before moving up. I found that very interesting as I do not need and have to walk up at once the steps. Once, at the top, I appreciated the fact that I spent 14 euros to buy the visit. It was pleasant being in the air and to have another perspective on the city. I Enjoyed.

A UNESCO world heritage site located in the heart of the city. Absolutely stunning as it stands high in the sky. I could not stop admiring it as I stood for a long moment in the market square. Buying the tickets in advance is absolutely recommended. Unfortunately we could not enter inside because of the long waiting time, but the pictures from other visitors look really promising. Will definitely go to the top in our next visit.

800 year old clock tower of Bruges with 366 steps up to the top. Well worth the ticket price for the views from the top. If you book your tickets for 20 minutes before the hour, you should make it to the top as the clock chimes. Amazing experience.

Valuable time spent well with a climb to the top. Staff were friendly and helpful. Especially the kindly spoken young lad with the 3 day growth.
The walk to the top was a tight fit at times and rewards the punter with not only an amazing view but a close up demonstration of the bells at work every 15 minutes. Beautiful Bruges

Magnificent specimen of architecture!
You must visit the Belfry during different times of the day. At dawn, it's tranquil and you can enjoy the tower without the distractions of large crowds. At night, the lighting brings out a different side of the tower. In the afternoons, there is a lot of commercial activity in the square and you can see the square being enjoyed by the locals.
See the photos and videos for views of the Belfry and its chimes being played.
It is unfortunate that lots two stroke motorcycles and mopeds regularly pass through the square and disturb the peace. They are so incongruous here.
Rajkiran Natarajan — Google review
The city’s primary landmark and tourist attraction. The climb is only for the very fit but the rest of the building and its square are a nice place to just hang out and soak in the city.
Tourist trap alert: there are many “rickshaws” you can rent from the square for a city tour.
Prashant Gandhi — Google review
Historic bell tower in the city center of Bruges. There are about 275 steps to the top and the view from up there is worth the climb. You can have a panoramic view of the old city with canals and other churches and towers. If you have time, then I suggest that you book the tickets in advance to watch the sunset, if the weather permits.

We paid 15 Euro to climb the 366 steps and it can be quite dizzy because of the constant spiral loop. But it didn’t take as long as we thought, nor was it as tiring as expected. There are platforms at different levels with information where you can take a respite from the climb. Beautiful view once you reach the top.

I had a nice time there. Excellent view from the top, but be ready for a long climb up. We did not buy tickets in advance, all were sold but luckily someone did not show so they let us in. I would advice you to buy tickets in advance, not to risk. People working there are polite and welcoming.

An amazing experience, really enjoyable. I recommend go early, we did the first session of the day as it wasn't too crowded. You do need a reasonable level of fitness to climb the 366 steps.

Nice view from the top of it but unfortunately there is net all around so you can take good picture with the view. Booked your ticket online to climb up 300 stairs. It is interesting to see the inside and learned some history. The stairs are a bit steep but given that they control the amount of people going up per time slot it’s not too crowded.

The Belfry of Bruges isn't just a climb, it's a journey through time. This UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts stunning views from its 366-step summit, showcasing the city's red-roofed charm. But the climb itself is an adventure, with historical exhibits along the way. Be prepared for some narrow staircases, but the reward is breathtaking. For history lovers, don't miss the chance to see the impressive carillon with its 47 bells. This iconic landmark is a must-do for any Bruges adventure!
Renand Arteja — Google review
Climbing the belfry was an amazing experience. It is not as tiring as I expected, since there are stops along the way up where one can rest. That said, the ticket price (at €14 on my visit) was a little much for a simple access to the steps with no extra features.
Fotis Aradas — Google review
A must visit if you're in Bruges...and definitely if you've seen the movie. Tickets can be bought at the time or in allocated time slots in advance online. The stairs start off reasonably wide but get very narrow the nearer you get to the top.
Anyon of a reasonable fitness level will be perfectly fine but don't worry as there are a few zooms on the way up that you can stop at should you need a rest.
The views from the top are stunning although there is a wire mesh covering all the openings at the top. If the bell tolls at the top it will.probably make you jump.
Overall I'd say it's pretty good value for money

Historic place to see in Bruges. Lost of cafe and restaurant nearby. The centre in front of belfry is always lively. The look from the history museum of Bruges is nice, covering the centre, belfry and all around. Must visit area. Will also find the city tour van and tourists guide in front of it.

Recommend you buy tickets online in advance, or at the vending machine at the bottom of the tower , or last instance at the entrance.
There are tickets / time-slots , so they run fast (I think max 25 for every 20min)
The climb is indeed manageable, as there are floors in between.

Really enjoyed going up the Belfry, 300+ steps, but worth the price and effort to get amazing views over Antwerp. As you ascend, there are areas to rest, if needed, and learn more about the belfrys history.
If you time it right, you will also see and hear the huge musical drum work as it strikes the time.
The top bit is protected from birds by a black plastic mesh, but its easy to get round this for photos, by lining up your phone or camera lens to get the awesome pics! Staff were friendly and welcoming too👍

Very worthwhile to visit and to take all 366 stairs to the highest accessible point. Mind you, stairs are quite narrow and it takes a serious effort. Breathtaking view especially with clear weather, obviously. Ticket vending machine can be found in the passage that goes under/through the belfry tower building.

I enjoyed climbing up this tower. You can see Brugge 360 degrees.
Also, we were up there when the bell rung. It was loud but it was very neat to see the hammer hitting the bell...
If you want to go to this tower and a number other points of interests in Brugge, get the Museum package for 3 days. It is worth it.

Great fun going up the 366 narrow winding steps. We picked a very windy day which added to the experience!! An amazing mechanical display as well as the bells and you can hear them playing tunes at certain times.

We really wanted to visit it and when we arrived at 16.55 there was only one ticket available from 17.00. The gentlemen at the counter were very kind and still gave us two tickets.
If you can plan to arrive at a certain time, I recommend you book tickets, otherwise you might not find tickets.
The access staircase is quite narrow and those going down have priority.
It is worth 15 euros and all the 366 steps for a fantastic view.
Laurentiu Ovidiu Calin — Google review
We climbed up in the evening after dark. I imagine the views would have been better during the daylight hours but it was still nice to see the city lights and also the history of the tower. The stairs aren't too difficult to climb (for an early 30s couple) with plenty of landings and floors to take breaks at, however the spiral staircase is quite narrow in places so maybe not the best for people who are nervous of confined spaces. We bought tickets online in advance and not have to queue to get in.

You get to see a great view of the city, but not anything special. I recommend to book your ticket prior to your visit there, so you can get in at the time you want, however you can book the ticket the same day at the entrance, but probably there will be a spot at least a couple of hours later.
There're 366 steps you get to climb, some of them were really small; dutch-type steps.
I don't believe it's worth the 15€.

Amazing view of the city and the literal central point of the city. We reserved and booked time slots the day before to go up but also it sells out quickly so try to book as early as possible. We also went on a weekend but it was in February. Lots of climbing but its not too bad, there are multiple levels you can stop and relax. The one right before the top is nice, you can see how the bells work. Last is the pure lookout point and you have a nice view of the city.

The Belfort or Belfry is the iconic landmark in the center of Bruges. It’s a medieval bell tower built around the year 1240. We bought tickets online for a Tuesday 9:40 time slot. The booking system is super easy because it tells you how many tickets are left for each time slot, and you don’t need to book too far in advance. There weren’t too many people when we went but there were already people coming back down.
There are some areas of the climb that are narrow, so just be mindful of that. It took us about 15 minutes to get to the top and when you get up there, it is so cool! You see the actual bell (beware, it’s LOUD, obviously since you’re right next to it) and you can look down on the square. Although it’s not a complete 360 view since the bell blocks some of the access, it’s still a sight to see. The whole experience from going up, taking photos at the top, coming back down took us about 45 minutes. It did start getting a bit more crowded when we were heading back down, so my recommendation is to go early.
Definitely a must see if you’re in Bruges!
The Markt is a charming old-fashioned market square located in the heart of Bruges' historical center. It is surrounded by impressive landmarks that feature various designs and date back to different eras. The colorful gabled houses and extravagant Neo-Gothic Provincial Court are just some of the buildings that make up this picturesque scene. De Burg and Jan Van Eyck Square are also grand squares worth visiting, but the Markt remains hard to beat due to its immediate impact on visitors.

Spectacular building with a Flemish Gothic façade, although the remains of Leuven's first town hall, built in 1439 and located on the main square, are no longer preserved. It has been destroyed and rebuilt three times in the last hundred years, the last time after the Second World War.
On the outside we can see 236 statues, all of them of important figures in the history of the city, arranged by floors: on the ground floor we find academics and artists, on the ground floor religious figures, on the first floor members of the nobility and finally, at the top of the towers, scenes from the Bible are represented.

The Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp is home to a remarkable collection of artworks by the famous Baroque painter Peter Paul Rubens. Rubens was a renowned Flemish artist during the 17th century and is considered one of the greatest painters in Western art history.
Inside the cathedral, visitors can find several of Rubens' masterpieces, including "The Descent from the Cross" and "The Elevation of the Cross." These monumental paintings are located in the chapel of the Holy Sacrament. The stunning altarpieces depict religious scenes with dynamic compositions, vibrant colors, and exquisite attention to detail, showcasing Rubens' exceptional artistic talent.
In addition to Rubens' artworks, the Cathedral of Our Lady also houses other significant works of art, such as sculptures, stained glass windows, and intricate woodwork. The cathedral's interior is richly decorated and offers a glimpse into the artistic and cultural heritage of Antwerp.
Visiting De Kathedraal provides an opportunity to appreciate the architectural beauty of the cathedral itself, as well as the impressive art collection within its walls, including the masterpieces by Peter Paul Rubens.

Antwerp Cathedral of Our Lady is one of the top 3 places to see in Antwerp.
Construction was completed in 1521, it's capacity is 25,000 visitors. If the cathedral looks imposing, it's interior looks magnetic, with paintings by Rubens, and very impressive wood ornaments. There are also two big organs.

A must-see landmark in Antwerp when you visit Belgium. A nominal entry fee gets you access to this magnificent example of 18th Century architecture, with fine art and historic notes, including a crypt. Easily accessible from central station.

Very formidable building at the city center but sadly needs tickets for entering, and at weekends most of the time it's booked for private events such as weddings. Has an organ so I guess it's nice being inside while playing.

A gorgeous cathedral that houses some beautiful Rubens! Definitely worth a trip to walk around and see all the incredible artwork. The basement has some catacombs, which are small but very interesting to see. There are some small spiral metal staircases you will need to use to get to them, and if you are claustrophobic, it might not be good for you. You can stand up in them, but there's not a ton of headroom, it's single file, and gets crowded, so just know that. There is a model of what the church used to look like which I find helpful to visualize the past. The most impressive parts were the large painted domed ceiling, the incredible stained glass windows which are EVERYWHERE, and the ornate carved wooden choir seats. Just breathtaking craftsmanship on everything, and you are surrounded by incredible beauty and art.

When just moved in Antwerp about 7 years ago, I came here once. I read the book <A Dog of Flanders> long before, so have a different feelings about these 2 masterpieces of Rubens , although he is not my favorite. Totally worth a trip and need to book a reservation for the tower.

What an amazingly preserved cathedral with four of Ruben's artwork. There are many other paintings by other artists which in the main depict biblical themes. Unfortunately for us the English tour was cancelled on the day we were there. There is a toilet here for paying customers. Wheelchair accessible. There is a crypt below the church that is very dank and badly ventilated. Spend just 1 or 2 minutes here. This is a truly grand cathedral. Worth a visit.

Hampton by Hilton Antwerp Central Station is a budget-friendly hotel with a gym and free breakfast, as well asviews of the city's railway station.
Brilliant location next to station and its taxi rank, with loads of bars and restaurants nearby. Just a mile's pleasant stroll into old city.
Staff very welcoming, hotel very clean and presentable, rolling breakfasts delicious as are 24/7 pizzas
Really hope to return

The room wasn't anything special. It was just another hotel room. It was, however, well taken care of. All personnel was professional and really kind. They anticipated on our needs. I'm extremely positive about the service that was offered.
The location is top-notch, right outside Central train station, so there is an abundance of public transport to choose from.
The hotel borders on the high street, so you can check-in, leave your luggage behind and literally start shopping within 5 minutes (if that's what you're in to)
The zoo is also in walking distance as it is literally around the corner from central station. Maybe about 50m from the entrance of the hotel.
I will definitely return to this hotel, mostly because of the convenience of it all.
(Photo explanation: I had a room at the front of the hotel and this was my view. Just to illustrate how close the station is to the hotel)

I stayed here with family and very much enjoyed it! The staff was extremely friendly and helped with every extra request & question we had. The room was spatious and the entire property is clean. The breakfast had enough variability (although my son missed the fried eggs – they only had scrambled eggs). We very much appreciated the small gym. Greetings from Hungary (Budapest) ;-)

To start off, the location of this hotel is amazing for a nights trip from Brussels or Brugge. It is right across from the train station so it is easily accessible. The lobby is nice and clean, the gym is small but decent and the breakfast is adequate. That is where my praise ends.
When I first entered the room there was a strange smell which I suspect came from the stained carpet. There is construction currently going on right next to the hotel which is very loud and makes it impossible to sleep in. But my main problem was the bathroom/shower. Both the body soap and conditioner were missing there plugs. This allows for moisture and humidity to constantly be circulating through the containers which is unsafe. On top of that, the lids could easily be removed and when I did I noticed there was bits of conditioner(?) in the soap and a disgusting blue gunk growing on the soap containers (I have attached pictures). This is extremely unsanitary and unsafe. On top of that, the shower water did not maintain a steady temperature. It went from warm to burning hot to warm to burning hot. I was consistently screaming as I got burned by the water. I ended up showering at a friends place as both the water temperature and soap made me uncomfortable showering at the hotel. This was very disappointing and ruined my experience.
I would recommend looking at other options near the train station before booking this place but the location is prime.

Stayed one night and was pleasantly surprised. Location couldn’t be beat. The hotel is right at the train station. Close to all main attractions, shopping district and dining. Very friendly and professional service. Rooms were spacious for Europe. Breakfast was a full buffet. I can’t say enough about our stay and highly recommend.

Very comfortable room, clean, good in-room amenities. We were at this hotel over a weekend and it seemed completely booked but we certainly couldn't tell while we were in our room. Hardly any noise filtered into our room from the street (we faced Central Station) or the construction going on and if people allowed their doors to slam (which normally happens in hotels) we didn't hear it. The rooms were so well insulated.
The staff were friendly and accommodating. Our last day in Antwerpen we wanted to stay and walk around the city later than the checkout and front desk staff stored our luggage for us. When I came back to collect there was a long wait in the lobby, people checking in, and the person who checked my luggage saw me, finished what he was doing at the moment and motioned me to follow him. He said he didn't want me to miss my train. So nice and thoughtful. I wish I would have gotten his name to call him out.
The buffet breakfast was very crowded, that is how we knew the hotel was booked up, but still good and plenty of food. One of the coffee machines was out of order when we were there so long line for the coffee...but no big deal.
Location was good, across from the Central Station, and about a mile from the town square but we enjoyed the walking so no issue for us.
Would definitely go back.

We stayed there for 14 nights and everything was perfect! Location is great right in front of central station, room was clean , breakfast was pretty good and the hotel staff was very friendly and attentive! And special thanks to the receptionists Rachid and Noimi who helped us through out our stay with their suggestions and were very kind. Will definitely stay here if we visit Antwerp again!

We rarely give a 5* rating, but this hotel deserves it. We stayed there for one night in mid-July for fair price. The staff at the reception was outstanding, friendly, well-spoken and very helpful. We were also delighted with the size and cleanliness of the room, the comfortable matresses and the layout of the sections. the room was quiet despite its front pointing towards the railway station. The breakfast was included, the selection was sufficient and the staff there very friendly and fast. We would always return there.

Hampton by Hilton was the perfect hotel for our stay. It is located directly across the street from the Antwerp train station. Pros: Very good location. We arrived from the train station and the hotel is 2 minutes from the train station and the metro station . Well sized rooms. Well lit and with good air conditioning. Comfortable and clean beds. Really great value for money. Amazing staff, very helpful and very knowledgeable! Thanks for an amazing time.
Cons: The bathrooms were clean and hygienic but the shower area could have been cleaned better. Also the breakfast was okay. It can also be improved vastly. I would prefer to have breakfast outside the hotel next time

I love this place. The views are amazing in the lobby and also in some of the rooms. It's conveniently located for touring Antwerp, and a quick walk from the station.
The staff are amazing and helpful. They speak fluent English. They go above and beyond to make your stay better.
The breakfast spread is great, very filling. You can even grab a piece of fruit for later.
The beds are fine, not amazing. The rooms themselves are great, plenty of space, big windows.
I would love to stay here again. This was my view!

We stayed four nights, arriving very early morning from North America by flights to Brussels and then by train to Antwerp. When we arrived at the hotel, the staff were very professional and luckily our room was already available. We enjoyed very much the location of the hotel, the professional attitude of the staff, and the morning buffet with healthy options (eggs, cold and warm vegetables, etc.). The training room was good too. The only minor comment is the hot water stability, it fluctuates back and forth between too warm and just right. Room was clean, bed was great. When we left we were allowed also an extra hour for late checkout and could work in the hall with coffee available. Overall we are really happy about our stay and would go back if visiting Antwerp again.

The rooms (we were on 7th floor) were nice. Its a bit unfortunate that the parking is like 3min by foot away and that the reception is on the first floor. Made our arrival and departure a bit bumpy. Parking costs with 16 euro/night are great. Also super accessable by train as it is right at the train station. The breakfast however is terrible. They should really send someone to look after the food (the veggies were old and nothing was really cooled or had silverware to serve it... so people destroyed the buffet). It looked disgusting at 9.00am. For a hotel of this category, I expected a decent continental breakfast. Also the presentation of the food as such was sad. We ended up having breakfast in the city.

If you can catching Thalys or any other trains, no other hotels beat this hotel’s location.
The breakfast was served two charming Asian staff members and that made a great start of the day.
The bathroom door was not working well, so I had to take one star off. But clean and cozy.
The surrounding area is not as safe and clean as the hotel itself. Be extra careful with taxi drivers waiting between the hotel and the station. They refuse to receive online payments and give you a receipt or try to race with other cars. If you don’t have big bags, go elsewhere to catch a cab.

Hotel very close to central station. We came by car so not very convenient to park in garage 300m in an alley in the rain. Room was nice and quiet and breakfast was well organised with good staff despite it being very busy.
Not the same can be said for the reception desk though. When checking in no eye contact, hello/good evening and crew just staring at the monitors instead of helping customers check in. Then a rude group just barged in front of line, without personell knowing they just helped them.
Check out just as terrible. No goodmorning or goodbye again. When asking how to receive the hotel parking discount as advertised, the reception was clueless: Interparking Vesting recognized my car numberplate as i'm member of their chain, so I could enter without a ticket and fully charging me for 24 hours.

The hotel is directly across the street from the central rail station, so very convenient if you’re arriving by train. There are lots of restaurants and cafes nearby, as well as groceries.
If you’re arriving by car, parking is down the street and around the corner, about a 5-10 minute walk.
I was upgraded to a huge room with a kitchenette and dining table, as well as plenty of windows.
The room overlooked the train station - good for the views, bad for the noise. There was lots of traffic noise during the day but it died down later in the evening.

It's okay. The location is convenient for guests arriving by train, tram or bus. If you come by car, you should add 30 minutes on top of your satnav ETA. The hotel has no parking facility.
Rooms are okay, however during our stay some items were missing and or dirty. Also HH benefits items were not in the room. We where offered to switch rooms but as we already where settled we refused.
Breakfast is okay, the restaurant is spacious and there are plenty of tables available.
The receptionist (Rachid) at check-in clearly did everything to make us feel welcomed and valued as a diamond member. The staff at checkout had a completely different attitude.
Despite Rachid's best efforts i am not sure if I will use this particular hotel for future stays
The Museum Aan de Stroom (MAS) is a striking red sandstone building with high-tech exhibitions exploring Antwerp's place in the world. At 60 meters high, MAS is a monument, museum, and tourist attraction that celebrates Antwerps history and culture. The museum offers a variety of interesting permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as free views over the city from its top.
Spent a good few hours here. There was something to see on nearly every floor. Exhibits were very big and detailed; some audio-interactivity in some areas was a bit heavy handed and overwhelming, but if you have a lot of time you can really lose yourself in each of the exhibits. Panorama at the top is worth the long escalator trip to the roof, with a full 360 of the city on offer. The building is an architectural delight too.

Only visited after museum hours to explore the Panorama and Viewing Gallery.
Wonderful experience.. escalators took us all but last floor.. ever opening vistas .. great images of folk around escalators... glimpses of museum exhibitions made me really want to return.
Views from the top across city, river and port were stunning.

The MAS Museum is a must-see attraction in Antwerp, captivating visitors even before they step inside. The building itself is a stunning architectural feat, a modern masterpiece with a unique design that's both handsome and imposing. Its towering stature makes it a landmark on the Antwerp skyline.
Inside, the MAS Museum unfolds across multiple levels, each dedicated to showcasing a distinct collection. Both temporary and permanent exhibitions offer a fascinating look into Antwerp's rich history and its connection to the world.
One particularly captivating exhibit explores Belgium's relationship with the Congo, delving deep into the Congolese culture and its lasting influence. Another exhibit sheds light on Antwerp's evolution as a major port, tracing the rise and fall of its shipping and logistics industry.
For a truly immersive experience, the museum offers guided tours accessible through audio devices. This adds an extra layer of insight into the collections, enriching your understanding of the exhibits.
With its ever-changing exhibitions and captivating blend of history, architecture, and culture, the MAS Museum is a must-visit for anyone visiting Antwerp. There's always something new to discover within its walls.

One of the main museum in Antwerpen, a 10 floor museum with an amazing architecture, and INSANE expositions. You have also some temporary exhibitions. Take at least 3h to visit this museum, you will need it. Each floor as a theme and plenty of different pieces of Art.
The employees are really nice as well, and super available if you have any question.

I loved this museum and ran out of time. There are floors devoted to a broad theme like food or home and then bring together historic paintings, current interviews, examples of say food businesses like bakers, sausage makers, historic equipment. It was really fascinating and enlightening. One floor explains what they collect and show you this looking in on storage areas (these looked a little staged) but all making for much more interest than many.

Visited because we had the Antwerp pass. It would have been worth the €12 ticket though. The story exhibition was great. The panoramic view and the storage vault is free to visit so at least take some time to view those if nothing else. Very interesting architecture as well, a great addition to the dock. The shop was shut one the day of our visit though which was a bit of a shame.

The panoramic view was great, but we couldn't stay on the roof floor longer than taking a few photos. It was almost 28°C on the day we visited.
The exhibitions involved some videos and interactive elements, but we thought they were quite boring. Can skip them if you are more interested in enjoying the city view.

Very nice building in a nice marina area, walkable neighborhood with trees some shade and benches to take a break and some nice little art displays like statues and a heart display❤️ with locks. Unfortunately I didn't know that one can take the escalator upstairs for free. There's apparently a good view from up there, but since I was there in the evening it was probably closed anyway.
On the way from my hotel to the museum I took a wrong turn and ended up in the red light district which was interesting and rather colorful, reminding me of the laser light show up in the Atomium, which was great. Along the water one eventually gets to the ferries wheel which looks rather pretty at night 🌙

It's definitely one of the first museums to visit in Antwerp. Apart from a fantastic exposition dedicated to a Second World War resistance in Belgium, if you reach the top seventh floor, you'll be able to enjoy a stunning view on the Antwerp harbour from both sides. I also visited the museum exhibits on different floors and liked the content of most of them. Well stitched narratives for exhibits on each floor.

Visited in July. Quite expensive amusement park, if you add up all the extra costs: parking €11, €20 pp one-time fast lane (SPEEDY PASS) access to all attractions, €15 pp for a low quality menu at the diner.
Staff of attractions are very kind, attentive and cheerful but staff at the restaurants don’t seem happy to be working, also very slow and appear annoyed, frustrated and lost in communication. The park could use some slight updates on the maintenance of their attractions & restaurants. Bathrooms have no mirror, hand dryers are missing or not working and water to wash your hands is probably rain water, it’s not potable. 🚸 Also the entrance of the speedy pass is mostly hard to find, the signs & directions work quite confusing. ⚠️
It’s clear that their main focus is to get more and more money out of your pockets: there are many game-hall centers that require you to insert money to play a game. –Big bummer.
Overall had a fun time at the park, the fast lane ticket is a luxury but surely a must on a busy day if you want to enjoy your visit to the MAX! We (party of 7) managed to hop on 16 attractions in a time span of 5.5 hours. Kids enjoyed it a lot so definitely a successful day: a great memory with friends and another fun highlight of the summer holidays!
Without the fast lane the average waiting time was over 35 minutes.
Plan well ahead and enjoy the park :)

Beautiful park with funny roller-coasters.
Really nice view from the ferris wheel, you can see fields and horses and forest.
But some roller-coasters shake too much, it could be painful for your head, so use the headrest (it could not help, but you would better try).
Note that many cafes and restaurants work only on weekends, so you will have not too many options to choose from.

We were here with a group of 7, and we had an amazing time! There are lots of rides, all within a small vicinity, so you never had to walk far. We were with 7, but there were enough rides with carts of 4, so barely anyone had to sit alone on a ride. The prices offered on the website are great, parking is nearby, and there's plenty of options for food. The waiting also wasn't too bad, and on the app you could easily see which rides were more busy than others. Great experience!

Slightly below average park. (Theming and layout moderate to slightly below) Not enough rides and long long lines ( even for bathrooms). Tickets tend to be cheaper, but when you do the math for the rides you can actually get on it's a far more expensive park, especially when you add far to expensive parking at 11 Euro. Best to choose only if you know it's going to be a slow day and you get a discount

Pros: it's big, lots of interesting rides, maintained, clean, nice facilities, toilets on every corner, parking is close
Cons: price, long waiting lines, exiting parking at the end of day is a disaster, short working period for the wait you need to do for the rides.

The Philips Museum is a fascinating exhibition showcasing the evolution of a light-bulb manufacturer into a global electronic conglomerate, focusing on their contributions to music, lighting, health and communications. Visitors can discover the company's history and innovative solutions towards healthcare while enjoying interactive activities for children like treasure hunts. A popular attraction in Eindhoven, this museum offers an engaging journey through time with highlights such as Keith Richards' tape-recorder and an Oscar-winning wide-screen projector.
I really love everything about this museum. Small museum of two floors though so informative that you will feel too involved to skip anything. VR glasses experience was good. Also loved all the range of products that Philips developed over time. You could see for example first product they had designed in the past. You can also get a free audio tour where it explains mostly everything. There is a short film as well at one of the sections. You can hear the history and work experience of few ex Philip employees. I was very lucky to also catch a lecture at 2pm about radio invention which was hell interesting. Applauds for organizing this and explaining the technical details of radio and how the radio frequency worked back in those days. They had a cute cafe near the enterance where if you order a coffee then you get a cookie with Philips shield imprinted on it. Which is such a great cool idea! Also, the bulb is used as a flower vase on the cafe tables which is so creative. LED lights looking like a candle were also fun to see. Thanks to the entire team who organises and maintains this museum. I find the whole experience worth my visit and could happily recommend anyone to visit ❤️

I really enjoyed this museum. The layout and pieces that you got to see inside were well worth the price. I would recommend this place if you want to find out about the past of the Philips company and if you want to see some old technology. They also have audio guides which give a lot more information about the things that are found in the museum.

Simply a wonderful experience and visit!! So well organized, easy to walk through, and a wide impressive history of Philips Company. The exhibits and all items are breathtaking and traveled you back in the past to the first radios and TVs we had. A great story of the history of the factory through its years. Definitely worth a visit, and the personel is very happy to welcome you.

One of best museums in the Netherlands. Nicely explained history of Philips and journey towards healthcare innovative solutions provider from bulb manufacturing company. There is a treasure hunt for kids which is a plus 🙂.

A great experience. Do not miss if you are in Eindhoven. It documents the history of Philips from formation in the 1800 and as they said "it all starts with Lights!" The museum has several tours and videos which are very informative including the early manufacturing workshop (See the photos), their activities during both WW 1 and WW2 and present day scientific feats. Plan to spend more than 2 hours particularly if you like technology. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance including an option for a family game that will test all the information. Enjoy

Even if I am not a big museum person this was a really educational and fun visit. You get to see and feel a piece of modern history that everyone kind of remembers, nostalgic I guess.
There are mini lectures in English and Dutch which are a must. The speaker is fluent in English and the presentation is educational, we loved it. Note, the first lecture starts around 14:30 in English and there two lectures one about TVs and another about radios.
The stuff inside the museum are super polite and nice. Overall a really good time spent and we came out with more knowledge and facts.

This wasn't too far of a walk from Eindhoven Centraal station. The museum pass can be used here. The staff showed the lockers, toilets and then the start of the museum, extremely helpful. Overall the museum gave a nice overview of the company, from the very beginning to the evolution of future state of the organization. Really nice to see how the technology has gotten especially nowadays. This museum should take around 1-3 hours depending on how fast or slow you go!

I was impressed with it. Marketeers and communication folks will love it as it shows how a brand and a company can grow while been socially sustainable. I would recommend getting a museumkaart as it is quite expensive to enter without it.

Had a good museum experience here yesterday. We bought tickets on the door, which were a good price for the amount of time spent there and extent of information shown.
Really interesting to hear about the history of Philips, the breadth of products and impact on technology and city of Eindhoven.
Spent between 2-3 hours here, probably read most of the information boards but there were more audio and video interactions that we did not do, and there appeared to be a lot of children activities that we did not partake in; so more time could have been indulged here.
Definately worth a visit!

A "must see" museum if you are in Eindhoven, kind English speaking staff, nicely elaborated descriptions of the exhibits also in English, many interesting exhibits inside, even the children were excited, you can easily spend 2 hours inside, the toilets, hangers for clothes, and even small cafe available, children can do a quiz using a torch and you can also find many interactive panels there, the old Philips electronics was amazing, I like to remember those times, Cons: the part with hand-works is only for reservation

A museum showing the history of the Philips company. Philips is a huge part of the Eindhoven culture, and the several companies split from Philips is one of the main drivers of Eindhoven’s popularity. However, the museum was quite short and I didn’t feel like I could get a sense of the company’s history. There were a lot of children attractions if you are into that.

The museum tells the story of the Philips company from its founding in 1891 by Gerard and Frederik Philips through to the present day where it's known for medical equipment, consumer electronics and home appliances and yes, light bulbs.
Lots to see and movies to watch, most of it in Dutch with English captions. So much history of this massive conglomerate company! There is of course a gift shop and I picked up a new fridge magnet.

I really enjoyed this museum. I really didn’t know much about the Philips history, just their appliances 🙃 The information that is presented is very well structured. I spent much more time than I thought I would here, and that says a lot. I highly recommend you visit this museum while in Eindhoven. I’m pretty sure you will not regret it.

Are you ready to geek out on some serious science and technology history? Then get ready to plug in and power up at the Philips Museum in Eindhoven, the ultimate destination for all things Philips. The reason why I brought my kids along for a positively electric time!
This museum is an electrifying experience that will shock and awe you with its displays and exhibits. From the Evolution of Light exhibit to the Philips Research Lab, you'll be positively charged with excitement as you explore the fascinating history of this pioneering electronics company.
Oh, my techies-in-training kiddos love learning about the groundbreaking technologies that Philips has developed over the years, from X-ray tubes to cassette tapes to LED lighting systems.
But let's be real here, it's not just my kids who had a good time. As an adult, I appreciate the museum's attention to detail and its fascinating look at the history of Philips.
I can assure you, this isn't your typical boring museum experience. The Philips Museum has a quirky, playful side too, with exhibits like the Philips Design Studio, which showcases the company's coolest product designs over the years. Plus, there's plenty of interactive fun for kids (and kids at heart) with hands-on exhibits that will keep everyone entertained for hours.
I hope this review captures the fun and excitement of the Philips Museum while also giving you a taste of its fascinating history and innovative exhibits.
Disney-like theme park with attractions including wooden roller coasters and water fountains, light show and fairytale-themed rides.
We have visited the location more of curiosity due to the fact we are not very much into amusement parks. But we had lots of fun in various places, from Max&Moritz to Baron... 😂. In the end we had a great day, full of everything. We'll return here gladly!
What I liked the most it was the fact that each attraction had a story behind and it was completely integrated in the park. Suitable for small kids or big kids just like myself turning 49 next month 😂

Loved it. We had a lovely day. Especially good for families with smaller kids. Nevertheless, there are great roller-coasters for older kids and adults. The distances in the park are quite long but everything is good connected, there is a steam train going around which stops at different locations. Toilets are everywhere, same as food places. Highly recommend it!

A fantastic Theme Park for a family day out. Well organized and run. Can be busy but the app helps you monitor the queue times. Plenty to do and see in the park. Bring a little lunch and enjoy the gondola ride on the lake. Overall had a great day out here. Barron and Python were excellent 👌

Very nice for 3 days with 2 kids. Queues were between 20 and 50 minutes a bit everywhere. Understandable for a weekend. Rides are diverse enough for any tastes and family composition. We loved the early entry for the hotel guests. We could enjoy the busy rides like this.

The place is well organized with multiple areas listed in a map. I highly recommend downloading the EFTELING APP which contains; live map, waiting time for each ride, restaurants, shops and everything you need to now about the park. Also you can download the photos from each ride. Kids will have more fun there because they have plenty of rides suitable for them. I loved every details there. Don’t miss out the Magical garden inside the park!

Super. Great park, with lots see and do. Would 100% recommend! Went with family of 4 people, 2 adults, 8yr old and 12 year old and all had a great time.
Ice skating was a lovely extra and very reasonably priced (2.5euro per person) Because we visited midweek in December (tuesday) there was pretty much no queues to get on any ride. Loved the atmosphere and it wasn't too far to walk anywhere to any of the rides or attractions. Attention to detail is great and the theme is carried throughout the park, really did feel like you were in a magical elf land.

In one word "mesmerizing experience"
Efteling has everything which you need for a relaxing and fun experience.
It has everything which you think of an amusement park. Started from rollercoasters, live shows, thrilling and theme based rides.
But, what I liked the most is the relaxing environment. It's not too busy and you feel like you are transported to a different world, where you can do a relaxing boat ride, listen and live the old Dutch stories ( My 6 years old son loved it ).
There are lots of eating places and everything is theme based.
We stayed at the Efteling facility, and it was amazing !
A few things to remember before planning your visit: if you are planning a day trip then create your itinerary prior to your visit. Download the Efteling app it has everything you know about the part.
If you are fun loving and want to do the rides then, try to come at 10 am ( when the park opens ) so you will have less waiting. Lots of indoor rides so the rain will not ruin your plan. And don't miss the live shows.
I stayed for a day so we were able to do most of the activities.
Overall a very nice stay and experience. We will visit again.

Was here back in 2019 on a school trip. Amazing theme park work plenty of rides for anyone who loves coasters. The atmosphere was great too and the music playing throughout the park added to the experience. Food was good and staff were friendly. It was pricey and queues were long but it was worth it! Definitely will return if I get the chance and I do recommend.

Really sweet and beautiful family park. The park does definitely have some larger rides (including Baron which was disappointingly closed both days we were there) but ultimately I think it's an ideal park for families. The number of ride and experiences that are perfectly catered to 8-13 year olds is just staggering, and easily as impressive as bigger parks like Disneyland Paris. The bigger rides are also really good and the food and drink offerings are some of the best value for any theme park I've ever visited.

Loved this place. First stop for our holiday to the Netherlands. We stayed in the hotel so could take our time going through the park. The wait times for the rides are generally 20 minutes. Far quicker than any theme park in the UK. Also the food and drink seem quite reasonably priced. Would recommend the Caro show if you get a chance to watch. Would go back again definitely! The app is also a must for directions and also giving you alerts for wait times for the rides.

The garden was wonderful and each section was more beautiful than the other. We spent a whole day in the garden and did not play all the games and see all the sections. I think the garden is enough for two days. There are also free offers throughout the day, many restaurants and gift shops, and also simple games for younger children, the place is organized It is tidy and clean, and each game has a different story. It is true that the queues are long, but everything is organized. Also, the workers there are nice and cooperative. I recommend it to everyone, and of course I will go again

An amusement park mainly for children, and a few roller coasters for adults, especially the scary Baron.
A wonderful talking tree that fascinates.
A city that is in panorama and with small details of life and trains.
And you should definitely stay in the evening for the musical fountain performance! It's magically aesthetic.

Nice place if you don’t want to go to Disneyland. This is like the mini Disney in NL if that makes sense. Going there when it is very cold is probably a bad idea though it is more beautiful when it has a winter vibe but maybe not wise.

Experience the magic at Efteling! We’ve seen so many videos of this amusement park and we finally made it there to visit. The tickets are so affordable and the park is stunning! Tons of attractions and rides for all ages, games, food and shopping!
This is one of the best parks you will experience for the price. Low key, chill and relaxing environment. I prefer this park over Dis—- because it’s so much more enjoyable and less people!
My favorite ride was the farting one. Hilarious and so creative. Can’t wait to visit there again soon. It’s great for all ages and even has playgrounds for the little ones.
Don’t forget to grab some pancakes while you’re there!! The pancake restaurant was the coolest!!
Purchase tickets online in advance and pay for parking right away. So simple to get in the park and same when you are leaving.

The place is awesome, so many rides and so thrilling fun. The only drawback was that when we were there, 3 main rides were closed. That’s why I took 1 star off. Always check the rides status before you plan your trip. We went in a weekday in March, the weather was good and the rides were not so busy. The fire and water show in the main lake at the end 18:00 was awesome as well. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help. The best thing was that they would take care of my daughter who was too small to sit on bigger rides while I was enjoying the rides. :) the Fairly takes rides were so nice my daughter and I loved that the most. :)
Will visit again when all rides are open. Always keep in mind that you need at least the entire day for the park.

A lot of similarities to Disneyland except the themes are different. Very detailed and the atmosphere is great. Queues waiting times were way too long for a week day though, could get to 1+ hours on the bigger coasters.

An amazing weekend spent here! We stayed in a wonderful woodland cottage in the village of Bosrijk, which was only a 10 minute walk to the park. Staying on site allowed us early entry into the park each day, which meant we were able to tick off some of the bigger rides before the ques got too long. However across the whole weekend we were there the longest wait time was only 40 minutes.
There is so much to do, and the kids loved it, ours range in age from 10 to 2 and they all were entertained the whole time. You can add on a photo pass which means you get all of your ride photos and any meet and greet pics across the time you are there.
Food wise, there are lots of fast food snacks and treats and some restaurants even have special treats for the kids, such as games, plates and glasses you can take home with you.
We loved it so much we are thinking about going back at Christmas.

Very satisfying!
Not the DISNEY style,
but the mood lasts no less than its.
You can see lots of details in all aspects,
and you may not like them all but they all maters!
From their website, APP(IT’S BRILLIANT), the design of all the attractions, to the activities from on-line to on-site, they are just amazing.
The history and the importance in the Dutch people are no need to be mentioned any more.
Everyone should come and experience this amazing place! It’s the old story but in an easygoing-yet-not-boring-at-all style.
Michael Wu — Google review
It was such a lovely experience & even if you booked tickets for a full day, you’re unable to see all their attractions!
Two downsides would be the very long cues & nearly hour of waiting for the rides plus when buying hotdogs or food they don’t use gloves & hair caps which is unhygienic.
Alexandra Beliciu — Google review
Amazing family day out. Great mix of rides for all ages. Reasonably priced snack stands with delicious waffles, hot donuts, french fries etc. Download the app before you go, add rides to your favourites list and check out wait times. 10/10 for families. We can't wait to go back!

I’ve been to the Efteling on and off again in the past 5 years. With our most recent visit, it’s time to put it all down in a few words!
The Efteling is truly a magical place where you can spend hours without even noticing. It’s fun for the entire family: kids, teens and adults. The attractions are thrilling (like the Baron) and expertly themed (like droomvlucht). If you are thinking of visiting (which I highly recommend) make sure to check a few things:
- if you visit with younger children, take your time. Two days instead of a single day will allow you to go through the park at your own pace. Make sure to book a lodging at one of their resorts!
- try to visit on less busy days! Their website has great information on when the less busy days will be
- don’t forget to look at their website to find which rides are open and which aren’t! Don’t be surprised when you arrive, as some attractions undergo maintenance during the less busy months (mostly in the winter and spring)
Have fun!

Loved this place, we spent two days here and stayed at a euro park camping site 10 minutes drive away. Lots to see and do, definitely need a few days. I would recommend using the app to get around as it's a big place, lots of rides my 5 year old could go on and loads of eateries and toilets scattered about.
I would go to the big restaurant towards the top end of the park for lunch as it has a wide choice of meals. There was a really chilled out boat ride for when you need a break and the ques are fairly quick.
Obviously the large rides have bigger ques, the Barron roller coaster had a 45 minute wait but that was the longest and we were there during the Easter half term.
Parking was very easy and a very short wait to get into the park. All in all it was really easy, stress free and fun. The only thing I would say is that a lot of the shows and dialogue on rides is only in Dutch so you can miss some of the information but honestly I hardly noticed.
I would definitely come back here. Also don't miss the water fountain show at the end of the day.
Just a small warning but also look out for the road dividers on the road running alongside the park when you drive in, one of them was poking out which we hit and gave us a flat tyre.

The Efteling is consistently enjoyable, regardless of crowd size or closures. During my recent visit, construction was underway on the parking lot, entrance, several attractions, and a new hotel. While these constructions detracted from the visual appeal and somewhat dampened the atmosphere, I still had a fantastic time. The park's charm persists, especially in the smaller fairy tales. I highly recommend visiting the Efteling, as I have always done and will continue to do so.
Bjorn “Walkx” Lammers — Google review
Very nice amusement park for everyone from kids to thrill seeking teens to adults. Very busy on weekends or holidays so plan well in advance and avoid busy days for smaller wait time on attractions. We went on a middle of a week on a rainy day yet wait times for the big coasters were 10-15min so imagine the case on a summer day. Lots of restaurants inside and food is not too expensive. We enjoyed our meal at the La Place Buffet. The end was very nice coz of an amazing fountain show.

Fantastic theme park, fairy take theme with a nice mix of rides from extreme to super-mild, and animations. Price fair, lower than most, incl done places with far less. Queues low to reasonable (no fast track option but many rides have sole-rider queues), only one ride bad all day. Only food could be better, though less rubbish than most theme parks (and it’s almost all tasty). Could use more coffee availability. Especially recommend the fairy dreamhouse, what they call the “madhouse”, the light show and the beautifully restored ancient carousel. Staff friendly and helpful.

Absolutely fantastic theme park. The entire park is extremely well maintained, very clean and so much to see. There’s something going on everywhere you look.
Rides are not as extreme as at places like Alton Towers but the park in general is far superior.
There were minimal queues when we went on a Monday but we still didn’t manage to see everything. Make sure you get there early!

What an amazing experience!! Best 8 hours I’ve spent at sub-zero temperatures in my life. Could easily have stayed longer. The rides were great and all the themed displays inspiring. I can well imagine that it can get quite full when it’s warmer, but we did not have any queues on the day.
The Erasmus Bridge is a famous, 800-meter long suspension bridge that spans the River Nieuwe Maas in Rotterdam. Designed by Ben van Berkel, the bridge is often used as a symbol of Rotterdam and has been nicknamed The Swan.
Nice place for taking photos next to a huge constructed bridge. The most amazing is the view of ships and boats passing through the river. It is one of the largest ports in Europe. Actually it has captured me than Hamburg port in Germany. The skyline is also breathtaking. You take a brunch near the coastline and enjoy the view. However, it is a bot cold at night so take a jacket.

The Holiday Inn Express Rotterdam - Central Station is located in a central area of the city, making it easy to get around. It also offers a lobby bar and free breakfast.
We found this hotel to be clean, comfortable, friendly, and a great value. Twin beds were comfortable. Shower was great. We were able to store our luggage in a locked room for later pickup after we checked out.
Location near train station, restaurants, and other attractions is very convenient. Breakfast is a little light on protein, but otherwise good quality.

Top notch service. The heaters were fantastic, I’d just come from a Hampton by Hilton in Amsterdam and the rooms were freezing. Thankfully the temperature control was marvellous.
Nice view of Rotterdam city from window.
As I frequently travel more and more, the smaller things like storage; where to pop your suitcase becomes increasingly important. The window sills hold your luggage and goods whilst the table can be left free for your laptop / other belongings.
I really appreciated that at this hotel as you can see from the pictures. And because I went when it was very cold the window sills acted as a fridge for the milk I’d purchased! And it worked well.
Breakfast: served at a very tight and congested area, not the best selection. However the yoghurt was surprisingly good.
Some beans would go a long way.
Recommendation to the hotel: give some slippers will ya!

Honestly, this hotel has the features to give it a really high rating. Great location, good rooms (maybe a tad small) but I booked a quite basic one. The staff is well prepared and helpfull. I arrived at a busy time so I did wait around 6 or 7 minutes, but that's very expectable around 18:00 in a hotel. Parking was good too.
The breakfast was a bit different, I had to pick a time slot but my preferred one was not available. They gave me a bag that I could fill at the breakfast buffet. I got what I wanted for breakfast but a little different. All good

Stayed here for 2 nights. The reception staff and General manager made me feel welcomed. After coming off a flight from the US at 9am they allowed me early-check in (subject to availability of course).
The Location is great, only about 2-3 blocks from Central Station and an easy walk. You're right outside a tram station as well, to get around Rotterdam. I would just walk to most of the places nearby as nothing I really wanted to see was more than a 15 minute walk.
Room was simple but well appointed. It did not have a mini-fridge or iron. Usually these Express hotels are for business travelers who might need to iron a shirt. The Air condition worked well although you could open the window if needed.
Breakfast had plenty of seating. The spread was simple and standard for a continental breakfast in Europe. It had sliced deli meats, 2 cheeses, croissants and toast, a couple of cereals, and warm hard boiled eggs. I really wish they had a better hot section instead of warmed eggs I'm happy. There was only 1 coffee machine and the line would get long at times.
Overall I would recommend staying here because of the location and really great value. It has public transportation nearby, and all the staff I interacted with were really amazing. They had staff speaking Dutch, English, French, and Spanish, and probably more. They had a private room to store luggage in case you wanted to explore the city before or after check-in.

One of the most limited low cost hotels I have stayed in the last years. The positive aspects are the size of the room and bathroom (comparing to other facilities of the hotel), and some of the staff that try their best (not all, some were very unfriendly).
The breakfast is extremely limited in terms of items and their quality (even the peanut butter of very low quality), no cheese spread, gluten-free just a simple granola, etc.
The room is very empty, no minibar. The hotel has nothing besides rooms, and a very squished reception with some food/drinks to pick and pay next to it and the breakfast place. In the same trip we have stayed some days at the Marriott, just 2-3 blocks from the Hollyday Inn, and price not too higher, but the Marriott was so much better.
At the end of my staying, and additional surprise was that they announced that they needed to charge me an extra because the fully prepaid reservation did not cover their full prince (I had neve seen that before).
If you arrive before 3pm, expect long waiting time to start checking in just after 3pm.
Thus, I recommend to look for other hotels in Rotterdam.

Very nice and quiet hotel, perfectly located not only in walking distance from Rotterdam Central Station, but in walking distance from city center avenues, restaurants and attractions. Tram stations right in front of the hotel. Staff is super friendly and helpful, breakfast is basic but on point.

I went to this hotel for the second time, and again everything was very nice. Last time was in lockdown time a year ago, the room was not cleaned then you had to order what you wanted for breakfast the day before. Now the breakfast buffet was open again, and there were not really and regulations anymore luckily. The room was clean and spacious.

Rooms are comfortable, but I had my room but dirty - shower supposed to be cleaner, air vent in bathroom had a an inch of mold inside, I did not have any shower gel and shampoo in room. Curtains - some spots, smell - like room was not ventilated for few days already. Service and location - very good. Breakfast- poor. No hot meat.

Location excellent, but no irons in the rooms! Street noise and neighbours sounds were disturbing a bit too. And there were only 4 hangers tied to the pole!! I was on the business trip and couldn't either iron my clothes in my room or hang them all nicely. Breakfast was ok and staff was nice!

Good customer service. Breakfast was included in the package. There was a good selection of different food, pastries, continental hams and cheeses. Great location, near lots of eateries and shops, too. Will definitely return!

A good and nice hotel in the middle of the city. Nice, clean and quiet rooms. Friendly staff. Shops are on walking distance. Only no parking place for Tourist bus, but within 15 minutes walking distance there are 3 places. Ten minutes further, 17 more places.

After 9 nights for sure I will not visit this hotel again. In my humble opinion this is a not a 4 star hotel.
1. Stains on all walls and mattress
2. Dirty chair
3. Very (!) limited breakfast
4. Very small rooms with nothing else except a basic TV and hairdryer
Good part:
Friendly staff
Good location

Cleanliness in general very good, unfortunately, as you can see in the photo, there were blood stains on the
Bed. I obviously put them open, because it may be that they have been overlooked. But the good cleaning staff simply covered it again and ignored it.
Really recommended for a short stay of 1-3 days, everything about it is a disaster. Breakfast, the same every day, air conditioning (as the windows cannot be opened) does not run very well and cools or heats the room very little. The view is also not exactly the best but the location is very good Central, all in all bearable but about the cleanliness, toilet brushes on the toilets or let alone a cupboard in the room would be really desirable

Very convenient location from Rotterdam central station..Good comfortable rooms with continental breakfast..Pricing on a higher side. No complimentary water bottles provided.. extension of stay possible but might be expensive than initial booking..Always check online and also with reception and then make payment based on which ever is cheaper

First time here. Lovely personnel. Breakfast bar could do with a more efficient layout. Plates are at the back, past the bar. Tea bags etc are past the water dispenser. Otherwise, it's all good

Good hotel at convenient location very near to central train station, hotel rooms are clean and neat. It would be great to have room freshener in room.Breakfast is average but not bad. Our room had a bathroom sink issue, it was quickly resolved by Chene, Thanks!

Bad
1. Very limited breakfast options and found hair in the breakfast more than once.
2. Room was not cleaned by housekeeping on one of the days
3. Lacks necessary things in the room like a toilet brush.
4. Stains on walls and curtains..
5.bedding was too small for bed and when making requests to get proper bedding the request was just ignored.
Good
1. Friendly staff
2. Close to public transport
3.ability to leave bags before and after check-in

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night. The best thing about it is the location. It is close to almost everything in Rotterdam. However, the rooms are really outdated. The carpet is not clean. There are a lot of things that need to be improved. There isn't much choice in breakfast.
I recommend the hotel if you are staying for 1 night.
2 stars for location and staff.

Using the parking lot is uncomfortable. Whenever I enter the parking lot, the car number is not automatically recognized, or there is no way to tag the hotel key. Also, there are 4 lifts, but 2 of them don't go to the ground floor that is linked to the parking lot. Probably I don't know how to use the services better.

Rooms were quiet, and mattress and shower were serviceable. But there were some issues. The phone was nothing most than a prop or paperweight. I wasn't connected to any system. 0 dial tone. The temperature was fixed and wouldn't go below 19c. I requested an iron (s8nce there were not any in the rooms?) And I got a toy. No steam, it wouldn't heat high enough to function. Breakfast was disappointing, especially since some other locals hotels have a beautiful typical Dutch spread. Housekeeping was a riddle... didn't take out trash. Generally speaking the service was good, but it did seem that some of tue folks would benefit from some training.

Location, location, location. Great rooms for the price you are paying. Front desk staff is very helpful with any questions. Would definitely recommend this.

We had no housekeeping come into our room across a 3 night stay despite speaking to reception about it. We had to ask for towels, toilet paper and tea/coffee.
We saw housekeeping on our floor but for some reason kept skipping our room. We tried leaving the sign requesting house keeping on the door and we tried not putting it on the door - it made no difference.
Eventually our bin was overflowing with rubbish and there were wet towels everywhere where they'd not been collected.
The location is good and breakfast is OK but limited choice.

I have read abt not so good review and I had to write this to give my experience. I would say my experience was great overall.
Room is good size, I have got the room facing city, mid floor. Though it’s within walking distance from Rotterdam central station, I find that it’s still quiet. Location is great!
Breakfast was with acceptable selection.
One appreciation note - I arrived ahead of checkin time and hotel/staff is nice enough to offer stroopwafel with coffee (perhaps due to IHG membership). Upon completion of the local Netherlands taste, the room was ready for checkin. Staffs were attentive and warm.
One thing to note - hotel room is not equipped with USB port for charging. Guest would need to bring your own power plug.
Overall my experience was great.

I wouldn’t know what the hotel is like because I’m still stuck far after check in waiting to get my room. But I know enough about my experience to know the hotel is not being run in a smooth manner.
This beautiful and historic museum is home to many masterpieces from the Dutch Golden Age, including works by Rembrandt and Vermeer. It's a great place to start learning about Dutch and Flemish art, and it also has a wonderful modern wing.
I usually get bored after more than 2 hours in a museum. This one was perfect: marvelous paintings, it is not so big, just 2 floors, not very crowded, it was a delight. We enjoyed it a lot and somehow it is on 1st place when it comes to museums.

Beautiful gallery space with masterpieces abound — Vermeer, Rembrandt, Hals, and many more — all hung well and the gallery space used to perfection. Staff were nice too which is a lovely added bonus. Spent an hour and a half inside but you could easily spend two hours or more.
Elevators for access and toilets are available too.
Absolutely essential if you are in The Hague.

Very interesting museum where you may see paintings of Vermeer and Rembrandt, including "most famous portrait in the world" - Girl with the Pearl Earning. The museum is not so big, 16 halls, the entree fee is 19 euro. It is better to buy tickets beforehand online. Must see in Den Haag / The Hague.

Very nice 2 floor museum. Easy to tour, and the application was very helpful. So make sure you go with your earphones. App is completely free, and you can also see more images and of course, hear the details and stories of paintings. They also exhibit the pigments that were used to paint The Girl with Pearl Earring. Since it is my special interest, I really liked it.
Okan A?gez — Google review
The paintings on display here are absolutely incredible. They only have the best of the best. This might also have something to do with the actual museum not being very big and them having to consider every inch of space. The result is a very packed experience, but also quite crowded rooms.
They state you Have to book tickets online, which is more convenient probably, but we didn't and still got in.

A very beautiful building in denhaag. It houses some of the most important art in the Netherlands. We were unable to explore the museum as we reached around 5:30 pm. A little before the closing time. But our guide told us it is definitely worth a visit when we are in town next. The building itself is beautiful and is very well located close to the parliament. It houses paintings from the dutch golden age and is also listed in the top 100 Dutch Heritage sites.

Beautiful collection of art mainly renaissance and christian art. Lovely collection and the full walkthrough takes about 1.5 hours. Some must see pieces like the girl with the pearl and some Rembrandt paintings. Amazing for art lovers and definitely worth your time!! Make sure to book tickets beforehand and to go early to avoid big crowds and long waits.

Definitely a must see museum while you are in Den Haag, I spent about four hours here. Make sure to take your own headphones so you can scan the QR code and listen to the audio descriptions. Makes it a much more immersive experience. The building's architecture is a marvel in its own right. And of course with so many Dutch Golden Age paintings and artists you've got to take it all in.

Beautiful, but hedge your expectations for a small venue. It's delightfully curated with a sampling of the best Dutch artists. You simply can't go wrong with a cup of coffee followed by a morning stroll through this place.

Excellent art museum with just the right amount of pieces. Not too much or too big where you decide to start rushing through. Even the children enjoyed it as they felt like there was enough variety. One of the best art museums we have ever visited!

Interesting art, the museum itself is quite small you can walk through it all in one to two hours. Beautifully decorated interior and well built art collection. While it houses iconic painting like Girl with a Pearl Earring, it does have a lot of colonizer art.

A must visit art museum in Haag (actually in the Netherlands!) where you can see the masterpiece of Vermeer and Rembrandt.
The museum gets busier and busier so I would highly recommend to go there at 10 am which is the opening time so that you can avoid congestion in the museum.

Had a good time at the Mauritshuis. The building is fantastic looking both from the outside and inside and the location of the building is also a great spot. Have to say that it is quite small and you could probably go through the whole museum in about an hour and a half. The main attraction is probably going to be the girl with the pearl painting but other then that it doesn’t have that many well known paintings, beside some Rembrandts. I guess that makes it a good visit though if you want to learn about new artists. All in all had a good time. Got the say it was quite crowded and loud so don’t except to have a quiet time there.

Beautiful museum full of amazing paintings. It was great to see the original of the girl with the pearl earring. Although it is a bit smaller than I thought it was not disappointing at all. Other than Wermeer, you can also see some Rembrandt paintings as well as other masterpieces. Highly recommended.
It is also worth mentioning that the museum is free of charge for museum card holders.
Bülent Kaplan — Google review
To be honest, the whole museum itself is just two floors, so I've expected it to be bigger. All the people of course are flocking around the "Girl with a pearl" painting. You can visit the gallery of prince William with the same ticket. That gallery is outside of the building on a different street.

We visited this museum on a Sunday morning. We were the first visitors, it started becoming very crowded later on.
Why I recommend this museum:
1) The building
İt is a beautifully restored ancient 3 stories stone house. Pay attention to the exceptional wooden staircases.
2) Paintings by Johannes Vermeer, of which Girl with a Pearl Earring is the most famous.
3) Works by Rembrandt.
There is also a decent museum shop.
Enjoy

What a beautiful building, which perfectly complements the hundreds of old master paintings within.
There is a helpful phone app that will give you guided tours and explain the highlights of the collection.

Yes, there she is. “The Girl with the Pearl Earring painted by Johannes Vermeer. This beautiful place holds so many famous paintings that you have only seen in books; you will be overwhelmed by the beauty that unfolds around every corner. I don’t want to spoil the experience for you by writing too more here, just go and be happy that you saw the impressive collection in person.
The building is stunning too and it was once a home. This is a must see. Book online for tickets and choose your entry time too. I just know that the collection will far exceed your expectations, all seen in this grand home. Enjoy every moment.
This theme park is home to miniature models of Dutch landmarks and buildings, as well as daily life scenes. The level of detail in each replica is astonishing, and visitors can enjoy a range of kid-friendly attractions while they're there.
Amazing place. The miniature park is so beautiful. The craftsmanship in every monument is just speechless. The minute details has been given attention and made very fantastically. It looks so real. Worthy visit. Has a simulator like flight ride which is also worthy. Would highly recommend to visit if you are in Den Haag.

My first visit to this place was amazing. It is really a place for everyone. It has something for everyone to try and experience what The Netherlands is about. The one thing I wished this place could have offered is rides for the kids. I left that could make this magical place complete. There were playgrounds for kids. One for the little ones and one for the bigger kids.

I took some friends and my kids last week and was pleasantly surprised by the efforts they have made to make it more fun for the kids. Their Dutch master exhibit is so fun and informative. The kids loved it and wanted to stay there all day. Pro tip: bring a few euro coins to make the experience fun and visit the trucks that bring out a little mars candy bars, it’s 20ct and such a fun experience.(similar to the wooden shoe one ($1) If you don’t know where it is just ask.

Quite expensive at 24 euros for entry for adults but well worth it. We went in late afternoon on a weekday and it was quite empty. The models are in great condition and kept clean. There is a lot of repair or construction work going on and some exhibits don't seem to work like the race track. There are interactive areas for kids such as a free remote control boat section near the entrance. Another is a water lane with locks and model boats. The miniature buildings are done very well and there are many moving elements (cars, boats, etc). More impressive than Mini-Europe, Beconskot or Legoland.
The sand playground is good too and maybe best for kids over 4 years.
The painting exhibit was excellent with 3D versions of famous Dutch paintings.
The aeroplane exhibit was fun. You sit in the plane and TV screens recreate a flight as well as an immersive show ending oddly with some dance music and light show.
I should mention that the playground and miniature area doesn't close at closing time - it was closing at 8pm on the day we went not 5pm as advertised. The shop, restaurant and some attractions closed by 5pm though.

The Dom Tower is a 112m-high church tower in Utrecht that provides stunning views of the city. It is part of a 14th-/15th-century cathedral complex that was destroyed by a freak hurricane in 1674. The tower can be climbed by guided tour only and offers unbeatable city views.
If ever visited Utrecht , don’t miss the place! It’s really worth to discover. Ticket costed 10 Euro with a guide!

It takes an hour to walk top to bottom. The walk up is broken up into stages of 3 or four stops. The guides are very informative and open to questions. It was in Dutch and English on our trip up. The tower is covered in scaffolding due to restoration work that in due to finish sometime in 2024. Still worth it. 12.50€ per person.

Located in the center of the city and being the landmark of Utrecht and the tallest church tower in the Netherlands are enough reasons to want to visit this great tower. It might be tiring to get on top and a little bit clestophobic but the view of the city i totally worthy of them. The guided tour was great and you learn great information about the history of the city and its changes in time.

The landmark of Utrecht! Can’t wait for the maintenance to be completed in 2024 and for the scaffolding to be removed. Still a beautiful site though and a great climb to the top.
Mathew Love — Google review
Climbed it on the 1st of July. First day it reopened after some time. It was my 4th or 5th time that I climbed it. It’s always a nice experience climbing the stairs of the tower and the explanation that the guide gives on the three different levels where you have a short break before reaching the top. But at the end the main attraction is the view from the top. With the construction still going on the view is limited. Be aware of that! But if your main goal is to learn about the history, see it from the inside and having the experience of climbing to the top then you will not be disappointed.
Heriberto Garcia Ribas — Google review
I visited Dom Tower on a Friday afternoon and took the guided tour of the tower. The tour involves climbing up ~460 stairs to reach the top of the tower along with a tour guide and we stop at 4 stages inside the tower. The stairs get narrower as we climb up and it can feel claustrophobic but the view of the city from the top of the tower is breathtaking! It is an amazing experience to see the giant bells of the tower from close quarters. Kudos to the guide for being so well informed; she gave the tour in both English and Dutch and had the answers to all the questions from the group about the history of the tower.
The only con is that the tower is undergoing restoration work till 2024 so the entire tower is obstructed by scaffolding.

A must visit when you explore Utrecht. Even with the construction which prevent you from going all the way to the top, its worth it.
Beware, you will have to climb up the stairs which could be quite challenging and it one of the most fun tour I’ve gotten. You feel feel accomplished by having climbed the tower.
Also, not expensive and quite the experience!

The iconic landmark of Utrecht. Currently it is only possible to enjoy the top of the tower. The full restauration of the tower would be finished in 2025. It is visible from most places in the city and it is the tallest tower of its type in the Netherlands.

A great guided tour brings you to the very top of this landmark. Unfortunately it was rainy and foggy so the spectacular view was limited. 465 steps, no elevator. Not for the faint-hearted.
Jim Valavanis — Google review
Tour guide was great at explaining the history of the tower.
Do keep in mind that the view at the top was disappointing due to the current scaffolding (which is only coming down in 2024) if you plan on visiting soon.
Jia Wei Lim — Google review
The tower is under construction until spring 2024. If, ahead of the visit, I'd realised that the scaffolding obstructed the view so badly I would have avoided going all the way up the 460+ stairs it takes to get up to the top and came back when it was all removed.
Would have rated 5 stars otherwise.
That being said, the guide was great, very knowledgeable and gave the tour in both English and Dutch. It was great being in the bell tower and being up close to them.
The stairs on the way up get progressively narrow and claustrophobic on way up and can be exhausting so do bear that in mind too before going up.

Tower is under construction, so the view on the top is terrible.
Stairs to the top are very narrow and claustrophobic.
The tickets should have been discounted, since the view is very limited.
You will be able to explore the canals of Utrecht on a pedal boat ride with Stromma Utrecht Canal Tours, which is an authorized tour company. You will have to pay an admission fee, but this is well worth it as you get to see many beautiful sights while riding on the boats. The ride takes about 90 minutes and you can go at your own pace so that you can enjoy the views and atmosphere of this Dutch city.
It's the second time we've tried to swim, we really like it, the biggest route is very beautiful, you can see everything.

The guy working here was friendly and realistic, he was appreciated. However , the boats themselves were filthy, felt like they were going to sink and an absolute chore to ride! Felt like we had done a marathon and the allotted time isn’t enough to relax, you have to pedal the whole time. No clear signage as to the right canal you’re on.

Nice service with a fair price! The boats however are very uncomfortable and they don't move that efficiently given the power used. It will absolutely take you the 2h they say, so don't think you can go super fast and finish sooner, especially in a sunny day. The view that boat offers is quite unique, especially the first part. In case you are short, you can use your backpack as an extension on the seat to be more comfortable, my girlfriend liked it.

Really fun way to see the beauty of the canals! Would've preferred to have a short cut route option in case someone wants to end it early, as the usual route is 1.5 hrs

Went to Utrecht for a day out of Amsterdam. As a group of four we almost skipped this canal tour booth until one of us pointed it out.
We each had to then pay an admission fee, but once that was done we were to hop onto a four man pedal boat and explore the canals of this Dutch city.
We were completely blown away with the views and overall friendly atmosphere of the city. The ride takes about 90 minutes but you get to see so much at your own pace and have a fun time doing it.

Super fun and cheap way to see the city from the water! It was only about 9 euro per person for an hours time (which was plenty).

Very easy and nice way to see the canals in Utrecht. Yes you must pedal yourself but for us this was way better than sitting on a boat packed with other tourists! And cost effective with different canal choices you can make yourself.
So easy to book and pick up your boat as well.

Reservation was from the website. Three routes; red - the longest, yellow - 1.5 h, blue - the shortest. It was worth seeing Utrecht from this side 😉
