Super intetesting place. Even more so if you do a little research about the whole project beforehand. Entrance fee is 8€ per adulte. I took a guided tour for 1€ extra. It wasn't bad but a little boring.
Definitely worth seeing for the scale of the painting alone

Very nice traditional architecture of city streets.

There are plenty of restaurants close by and it was not too loud. At the one end of the bridge there is a church. We arrived too late to go up the church tower.

My recent visit to Kramerbrücke in Erfurt, Germany, was truly captivating. This historic bridge showcases remarkable architecture and offers stunning views of the city. Kramerbrücke stands out with its unique half-timbered design, reflecting the city's rich history. Climbing to the top of the bridge, I was greeted with a breathtaking panoramic view of Erfurt. The city's skyline, a mix of historic landmarks and modern structures, was a sight to behold.Beyond its visual appeal, Kramerbrücke is a vibrant hub of activity. The bridge is lined with charming shops, cafes and boutiques, offering a delightful shopping and dining experience.

Also visit the park behind the bridge for good views and a place to relax.

Well the place is good enough. But not how they showcase in other photos. Yet it is a nice place to check out. 13th century bridge 🌉. People have been living over here since over 500 years that's is the longest over Europe.

Medieval arch bridge with half timbered shops and houses on both sides of the street. Rare bridge standing for ages. Must visit place.
Ambarish P — Google review
The „Medieval“must see when being in Erfurt. You will hardly find these bridges which are totally filled with houses in Europe anymore. And I would not know where to find it anywhere else in the world. Don’t miss the very unique shop for left handed people.

beautiful, narrrow, medieval street and bridge: one of the highlights in erfurt.
be sure to get an all-round view, also from the riverside.
The Erfurt Cathedral is a stunning example of medieval architecture, built in the Hilltop Romanesque & Gothic style. The cathedral boasts intricate stained glass windows that allow sunlight to flood the main hall. The choir, made entirely of carved wood, is particularly impressive. As a Catholic place of worship, it serves as a home for prayer and meditation but also functions as a gathering place for life and celebration. Visitors to Erfurt must not miss this beautiful and majestic structure.
A magnificent architectural wonder in my opinion. You cannot help feel insignificant in the vicinity of this architectural behemoth.
Right outside the entrance on the blackish stairs, you can find a stall to pit in coins and imprint on it the engraving and for the Cathedral. It will cost a euro, but you can have this as a souvenir.
The church and the Cathedral are quite close to each other. The insides were a little too dimly lit but it's spectacular from the outside.
Muhammad sarosh Ali — Google review
Amazing cathedral, very much worth the trek up the stairs. When I visited I was also lucky enough to experience a choir sing in there as well. Was magical!
Jibran Khan — Google review
Beautiful, peaceful.
The central cathedral of Erfurt is a marvel of medieval architecture. It sits majestically atop a long flight of stairs, displaying fluted pillars and flanks. The interior is lovingly maintained, and the beautiful windows permit the main hall to be flooded with sunlight.
Most impressive is the choir, which is crafted entirely of carved wood.
First and foremost, this is a place of contemplation and meditation. A home to prayer.
I'm told, it is also a place of life and celebration, a structure where people meet.
Alice Oehninger — Google review
A very beautiful church with nice stained glass windows. It’s up a long flight of stairs, and I am not sure if there are accessible ways to get up to the church

Erfurt Cathedral is impressive. Its architecture is very detailed which attracts a lot of attention.
its interiors are very spacious and inside it is very quiet and dark. For me, the most impressive thing was the organ, it was gigantic.
I highly recommend your visit, as it is fascinating to get to know this ancient cathedral.

Erfurt Cathedral is truly a masterpiece of architectural splendor. This awe-inspiring structure not only dominates the city's skyline but also offers a captivating blend of history, art, and spirituality. From the intricate details of its exterior to the breathtaking beauty of its interior, Erfurt Cathedral is a must-see destination for anyone visiting the city.
Upon first glance, I was struck by the sheer grandeur of the cathedral's Gothic architecture. The towering spires, elaborate sculptures, and exquisite stained-glass windows all contribute to the overall magnificence of the structure. It's evident that great care and craftsmanship were dedicated to creating this architectural gem, making it a true testament to the artistic prowess of its builders.
As I ventured inside, I was greeted by an equally stunning display of beauty and artistry. The soaring vaulted ceilings, intricate carvings, and mesmerizing stained-glass windows created an ambiance of reverence and wonder. The play of light filtering through the vibrant glass created an ethereal atmosphere, further enhancing the cathedral's spiritual essence.
One of the most captivating features of Erfurt Cathedral is its remarkable collection of art and artifacts. From the renowned Volto Santo, an ancient wooden sculpture of Christ, to the intricately designed altar, each piece tells a story and adds to the rich tapestry of the cathedral's history.
In conclusion, Erfurt Cathedral is an extraordinary example of Gothic architecture, steeped in history and adorned with stunning artistic details. A visit to this magnificent structure is an unforgettable experience, offering a unique glimpse into the past while also providing a space for quiet contemplation and spiritual reflection. Whether you're an architecture enthusiast, a history buff, or simply someone who appreciates beauty, Erfurt Cathedral is a destination that should not be missed.

The imposing Friedenstein Castle rises on a hill above Gotha, surrounded by the park and the gardens of the orangery, serving as one of the best preserved architectural monuments of the early baroque. Ernst I (1601-1675), Duke of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg, built this residence between the years 1643 and 1654. It was never destroyed.
The new Duchy of Saxe-Gotha (united with Altenburg from 1672) emerged in 1640 from the partitioning of the land upon the death of the former ruler. Ernst I, the founder of the Ernestine Dynasty (a branch of the Wettin Dynasty), chose Gotha as his city of residence. Here, during the Thirty Years’ War (1618-1648), he erected his castle on the ruins of the fortress Grimmenstein. In view of the horrors of the war, Ernst I gave the mighty four-winged construnction the symbolic name of „Friedenstein“, meaning “Rock of Peace”.
To the north, looking onto the city, lies the four-storey corps de logis with the Ducal apartments and the castle chapel, onto which two three-storey side wings are attached. These run southwards in two four-storey pavilion structures, in between which the single-storey riding hall originally spanned. The hall was removed in the 18th century. As well as the apartments of the ruler and the ducal household, from the beginning the residence housed the administration and the military as well as the library, the archive, and the collections. Thanks to its unusual size, the castle required no extensions over the following years, as a result of which no noteworthy changes to the building took place.
Even today, the rooms are largely preserved in their original form and design in the style of the high baroque and early classicism. Moreover, the furnishings and holdings have stood in the same place for centuries. The world-famous collections can thus be experienced in their authentic home, of which the museum buildings, the expansive parks and various other buildings are all integral parts.

This castle is a jewel in the rough: a treasure trove where everything is yet to be discovered. Anyone who wants to experience baroque art without any cheesy approach and staging frills with a lot of shabby chic - in other words, originally - should come here before this, too, is stylized into an "event".

Beautifully restored castle with three different museums integrated into it. The entrance fee covers the castle, museums and visiting the theater that is also part of the castle, as well as the 'Herzogliches Museum' across the street.
The staff is friendly and helpful and will cheerfully share stories and history of the castle itself and it's various inhabitants. The place is a treasure trove of exhibits and history affine kids will love it. Plan to spend at least three hours to cover all that can be seen. During our stay there was a little snack bar in the castle yard that served delicious cakes.

When I visited, there was only one gallery open. The rest was under construction. Also I didn't understood all the German, which caused following the wrong arrows.
So, yeah, I think they can do better.
When you're there, you should definitely buy the audioguide. Totally worth it.
Set high above the treetops, this scenic pathway offers a lookout platform with forest information.
Loved this place. It's very magical in fall when the leaves change color but don't let that deter you from going in the summer. Been there three times already and I'm so going again. also don't forget to check out the museum where you buy the tickets.
P.S. the restaurant outside, near the entrance has a cool robot server.
Ummara Ahmed — Google review
Very nice and interesting place to visit; set in the beautiful forest Hainich. Informative and well maintained visitor center (entrance fee) and the path through the tree tops is great!
Paul Oor — Google review
It's a nice location for coming down a bit in busy times....even if it's not to full there. If it is full, than it's a bit crowded because of the limited space at the canopy walkway. But from there you have a great view into the bright green of the treetops or - depending of the level, where you're walking - across the nice surrounding. Even for children it's very interesting there, especially because of the exhibitions at the entrance where everybody will find something new to learn. But keep care to reach there near to the last time for entrance! They are very strict and even cheat a bit. So at the entrance pay desk they send you just before closing time through the forest to the entrance gate for the canopy walkway and if you reach there, they tell you it's to late....and no discussion helps, even if you came from far away.
Mario Bartl — Google review
A nice experience and an interesting nature center for children, but at €11 it felt pricey compared to other tree walkways I’ve been to in Germany (Cloef and Beelitz, in particular).
Tom Beck — Google review
Very cool day trip. We went on a cool spring day and took the bus from Bad Lagensalza, it was very easy and right next to the train station.
The forest and walkways were unique and the view on top of the "lighthouse" was great. We appreciated the English translations.
Don't let your kids get too close of a look at the very detailed diorama in the lighthouse- we took a closer look and had some fun noticing the more raunchy figures and situations.

Great structure, very informative. Would recommend especially for children. The ticket costs 11 euros for adults, with option for family tickets for 30 euros. There is also a Museum in the park centre. Two or three options of trails to do by walking. Some can be long, but the views are beautiful in a small part of the way.

The GRIMMWELT Kassel is a spacious museum housed in a stone building that features exhibits highlighting the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. It provides an abundance of information about their life and works, making it an ideal destination for those seeking knowledge on this subject. The presentations are uniquely designed with creativity and cater to children's needs, ensuring family-friendly fun. Outside the museum offers captivating views adding to its charm.
Very interesting. Found out much about the Brothers Grimms that I never knew before. The museum is easy to get, too.
It is accessible for people with mobility problems. Elevators to each level. The view from the roof top is outstanding, not all of it easy access if you have a mobility problem.
They have a cafe at the museum, but as we never used it, can not comment. The entrance is 10€ per adult (€3 discount for over 65s), and I can't remember the price for children. It's worth a visit. Did see some children having fun, but would not recommend for very young children.
James Wilson — Google review
The museum looks very cool and modern. But it's a very text based museum. Not a lot to see. They try to make it interactive but it does fail. It is a maze. The stories that are there are written in a very dull way. The museum itself is a very cool building
Lucas Aarssen — Google review
This was such a fun experience and so informative. Us as the adults learnt so much about the history of the Grimm brothers and their achievements. I only ever knew them from the fairy tales. We all really enjoyed this and will definitely visit again.

We visited both the permanent and the special exhibition.
Especially the latter was very interesting. There is a swing that you use in combination with VR-goggles for a really cool ride through a "dream?" World into outer space.
The staff was really helpful and friendly as well.
Philip Hausmann — Google review
It's a very well made museum and a great one for lovers of fairy tales and passionate linguists. The Grimm Brothers were pioneers of the modern German language and their story is depicted in these fascinating panels that remind one of a Chinese shadow theatre.
Some installations were not my cup of tea, but the stylized forest is awesome!
I best loved the room where the tale of Rumpelstilzchen is recounted in countless different languages and dialects (a video instalation). Definitely recommended!

Great museum to know more about Grimms brother works.
MJ. T (Mel) — Google review
Very interesting display of their life. They spend a lot of time on their incomplete efforts to make a dictionary of German words. An "art installation" of movie and TV clips based on Grimm fairy tales was interesting.

Everyone knows the Grimm's brothers for their folk tales. The Grimm Welt Museum is a large space that has an interpretation of his life and work. Recommended by adults with a large connection to their inner nest. Information only in German and English languages.

Great building, airy, good food. The display is cool though a little confusing to navigate, more about their literary achievements than their tales but interesting.

Everyone has listened or read at least one tale in their life.
This tale is very likely to be the Grimm Brothers. (Rapunzel, Red Riding Hood etc.)
Here must be visited to get to know the authors of the great tales we read.

It was a really interesting museum with lots of exhibits and information on the brothers. Quite a few interactive exhibits too bring the fairytales to life. The roof gallery is great too as you can see over Kassel. We came here for the Christmas market and it just may be my favorite Christmas market. It's set in a medieval castle and the market expands from outside to all inside the castle. Very cool! Has a very authentic medieval market feel and lots of homemade gifts, lots of things you wouldn't find at traditional markets. Lots of people dress up in medieval attire which was also cool. Lots of really good food options as well. The market is only open certain weekends, so plan in advance!

What an amazing place to see, The Ronneburg ist a pretty special place to me. As a kid I spent a lot of time here exploring the old castle and it's surroundings.
The original part of the Castle was built in the 1300's.The Well house of the Ronneburg ist definitely a visitor favorite. The Well at an original depth of 436 feet, the water table today is about 275 feet. Personally it's hard for me to comprehend how they even built this 100's of years ago without modern machinery. Listen to how long it takes for the water to hit bottom. This should definitely be on the list of must see places.

Amazing. The only difference between here and Renaissance faires in the US is that the backgrounds are real. That’s pretty significant honestly. I loved learning about life in an old castle and it’s goings on. If I’m ever back I’ll have to check out the Knight Tournaments!!!

Nice castle with its unique Castle day event in the beginning of October. A lot of medival dressed up people, tents with medival crafts presented, different current time food options, fur, leather and medival style clothes and asessories, knives and swords. Dressed up bands playwing castle music on that time instruments and small performances with jokes are there too to intertain the crowd.
The only one thing I wish was there - cooked medival style food you can get instead of common brats with french fries 🍟. I would pay extra and wait in line just to see my food cooked in a big medival pot)) food cooked by dressed up tent owners was cooked for their own group.
There were few parking lots open, all for 3 euro.

We really enjoyed Ronneburg Castle, especially during Walpurgisnacht, where witches, fairies, jesters, and many characters from fairy tales and the Middle Ages come to life. There was a market with a variety of goods, all stylized to fit the medieval theme. At the market, you could also taste cherry beer and sausages - there was something for everyone! You could also enter the castle and walk up the stairs, where you could eat onion soup or simply enjoy tea or coffee with cake. There were also many activities for children, such as a carousel, archery, and face painting. The tower was particularly memorable, as it offered a breathtaking view that was worth waiting in line for about 20 minutes.

This is an truly amazing place to visit has such historic presence and beautiful views over surrounding lands .
This was my second time visiting this castle and was fortunate to be shown the Christmas market held hear each year in December where everyone dresses up for the occasion and enjoys the medieval festival.
They put on a great show hear with food, drinks, products and fire pits scattered around to keep a little warmer.
For the kids they have a mini carousel with different seats .
The castle itself is special to check out and has cool interactive photo props placed in locations though out .
The Christmas event runs from 11am till 8pm
And on for each of the 3 Sundays before Christmas .

We visited during the mediaeval Christmas market and had a great time. The stalls were interesting and generally well priced. The food and drink stalls received most of my money. A part of the market is held inside the castle with some emulation of how life might have been back in the day. Priests sang and led ceremonies in the chapel, cooks kept the kitchen fire going.

Beautifull place; the museum was closed,it works till 17 hours, but despite of that there is much to see. Gorgeous gardens, fantastic view from the terase. Only thing is there is no access to the strollers,so if you are going with a baby as we did be prepared to lift up and down the stroller 😁 below the castle there's a river and promenade on wich there is a some sort of Cafe. It is selfservis type.

Be sure to leave enough time to see everything. The models of the palace over time, from Medieval to WWII, are very informative. Be sure to walk down to the river afterward for a beer or cider at the pleasant pop-up bar.

It's great: there are street parking spaces and the number of short-term parkers (shoppers) is quite high, so if you're lucky you can always find a parking space, possibly even close to the shop where you want to buy something. Parking fees are acceptable, so we stayed longer and bought a lot more than we planned.

It's quite an interesting little town with very historic wall around the old city that you can walk on part of it's obviously had a lot of money spent on it however it's probably only worth 1/2 Day trip.
one thing I can recommend is that the if you are to visit this place, them visit it by bicycle, because there are some excellent bicycle paths along the River and some in shade when it's hot and it is very lovely you can for example riding from 10 km North of Michelstadt and do it in about 35 to 40 minutes.

Frankfurt Zoological Garden is a large zoo that features exotic animals from all over the world, including some of the most popular such as zebras, lions, and monkeys. The zoo also has an extensive collection of plant life and offers plenty of activities for visitors such as animal feedings and guided tours.
Must to be visited if you're in Frankfurt, especially with the children. Zoo itself mostly looks like a big park. If would be better to do it during the sunny days, son you fully enjoy your visit.
Again, labels and boards with explanation of the animals, insects, reptiles on German only.
Try to get a face mask on you before entering or get the one it at the main entrance - mandatory when visiting "apes world" - otherwise precise Germans will remind you about it every 3rd step while inside.

I visited Zoo Frankfurt with my 2 1/2 year old son. We enjoyed seeing the nice variety of animals and the facilities were fairly clean. We were able to find ample parking at a nearby parking garage. Unlike several of the zoos we have been to, most of the exhibits were hard for our 2 1/2 year old son to see on his own. The viewing glass was often too high for him and I would have to hold him. Also the glass in most of the exhibits were hard to see through. These were the only two downsides to the zoo and other than that, we enjoyed our time there.

AWFUL ZOO!!! If anyone likes or loves animals - you shouldn't visit. In my opinion, it's ANIMAL ABUSE. The animals are in the worst conditions I've ever seen: small cages, not enough greenery if at all!!!! The monkeys are sitting on the concrete floor in a tiny cage, the rhinoceros' bones are seen through it's skin, he was so skinny. The food that was given to the monkeys was wheat. In order to be healthy, monkeys have to eat fruit and veggies. I am a person that loves animals, and I wanted to cry. I think animal rights organization has to be involved.

Amazing to see a zoo maintained in the middle of such a busy City. Had reasonably good collection of animals. But the cages are built to provide closer to natural ambiance for the animals that in several cages the animals are probably inside their resting area that they are not visible for visitors. From the animals point of view it is good for them that they are not disturbed too much. But from visitors point of view it might be disappointment that we could not see some of them. Also the water in the reservoirs are not that clean. Though it was really good some thing was not giving me full satisfaction to give a 4 or 5 start. This is probably the first time I see a zoo having ants, fly, several varieties of rates and bats. Highlights are Penguins, apes and reptiles house.

My visit to Frankfurt Zoo in 2014 was an exceptional experience that left me thoroughly impressed and delighted. This zoo is a true gem, offering a perfect blend of conservation, education, and entertainment for visitors of all ages.
The wide variety of animal species and the well-designed enclosures created an immersive and authentic experience. It was evident that the zoo's focus on animal welfare and conservation was a top priority, as the animals seemed content and well-cared for in their naturalistic habitats.
One of the highlights was the Grzimek House, where I had the incredible opportunity to witness a vibrant ecosystem with free-flying birds, wandering reptiles, and curious mammals living together harmoniously. This unique exhibit was a fantastic educational experience that showcased the interconnectedness of different species.
The zoo's dedication to education was evident through informative signage and interactive displays, allowing visitors to learn about the animals' behaviors, habitats, and the importance of conservation efforts. Additionally, the friendly and knowledgeable staff was readily available to answer questions and share their passion for wildlife.
The family-friendly atmosphere, including playgrounds and picnic areas, made it a great place for a day of fun and exploration. The zoo's convenient location in the heart of Frankfurt also added to the overall convenience of the visit.
Frankfurt Zoo truly exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city. It's a place where both children and adults can connect with nature and wildlife, fostering a sense of appreciation for the natural world and the need for its preservation. A five-star experience all the way!

A really great place to go with the kids and spend a nice morning! The option to rent "push trolleys" for the kids was amazing, and very affordable at €5. There were a lot of different animals to explore, it's great for adults and kids. Maybe because of the time of the year, there were a few places closed for renovations. Also, too bad there's no café or restaurant, the only option for food is a fast food truck with sausages and chips. We were really surprised there were no English translations of anything, not even a map with some more information. Overall a great place to visit right in the middle of the city.

It's one of the best places to visit while in Darmstadt. A wide range of interesting pieces of art perfectly curated to give the museum some sense of coherence and artistic uniqueness. There is usually a decent amount of visitors of diverse heritages and interests. So there is no way of telling which corner of the museum will be less crowded and when. With a little patience, enough time to spare, and a little physical stamina, you should be able to cover a big chunk of the museum in one outing. I love this place and I would wholeheartedly recommend it.
Tip for the little ones: there is an open art workshop for kids on almost every other Saturday. My son is not really passionate about art, but the art ass is so well done that even someone who is not really into it has something to look forward to in it. Thanks a lot.

I was a guest in the hotel but can not recommend staying here, while the location is excellent, there is little sense of hospitality. When we arrived we asked if we could get a table for dinner. We were told they were all booked out. We did not find anything else we liked in the area, and we had our eyes on the pepper steak on the menu here so we tried our luck again at the restaurant. There was a table free outside, which said it had been reserved for 19h but at this point it was well past 20h and the table was still empty. We said we were guests at the hotel and we were promptly told we can not be seated at the table. We ended up ordering food elsewhere and sitting on the bench in the square, to eat on our lap. The entire time, the table at the Goldener Engel stayed EMPTY. Very inhospitable!!!
The rooms are clean and spacious, few extras not even water. Breakfast was sparse if you could even get to it - unfortunately it's tucked into a tiny corner and there's room for one person at a time.
Not an ideal stay. I expect more welcoming service from a hotel really! very unfortunate.

St. Stephan's Church is a Catholic church that features stunning stained glass windows created by Marc Chagall and a late-Gothic cloister. Located just a short walk away from Schillerplatz, this hilltop church offers panoramic views of the city. With nearly 200,000 visitors annually, it is considered to be one of the most beautiful churches in the world. The blue windows are particularly noteworthy and provide a unique experience for visitors.

One of the most beautiful churches I've ever been into, the Marc Chagall windows have to be seen in daylight... The church itself sits up on top of a bluff overlooking all of downtown mines as well as the Mainzer Dom, a must see cathedral in downtown, but St. Stephen's is much more than a place of worship. Hidden gem of Mainz!
I have been outside in the church cloistered courtyard, which is relatively small but very beautiful and picturesque, many times, however this was my first time inside the church and I was really impressed. I had no idea there was such a beautiful church in Mainz!
This place is known for its unique stained-glass windows in luminous blue that were created by Marc Chagall. The light coming through the windows was absolutely stunning and created an almost unreal ambience, I felt like being under water. I have never seen such beautiful lighting in any church I have visited (visited mid-day with clear skies, so nothing was blocking the sun beams to enter the church). I also enjoyed the beautiful modern Organs near the chancel with the altar.
There is a little gift shop inside, where you can buy souvenirs like postcards, books and magnets mainly with the blue window theme. Church is wheel-chair accessible and there is no entrance fee.
Totally recommend to visit this church as pictures don't really do justice, you must see it with your own eyes to have the full experience.

Saint Stefan’s church in Mainz is one of the most beautiful historical buildings you can find. If you visit mines you have to make sure to go inside this church. There is no entry fee and once you go inside you will see beautiful blue windows which were created by the very famous Chagall artist. The Organ is also brand new and modern and was created after the church raised donations for it. Once you walk through the church you go towards the back and there is a small walkway leading to additional rooms and a courtyard. What are the courtyard once you leave the church through the back you walk behind the church and there’s a viewpoint where you can see Mainz from high up there is also a bench where you can sit there. I recommend you look up the opening hours before going because it would be a shame to miss the artwork inside.

Such a great Stadium, what a fantastic atmosphere, top crowd, very easy to get to with Publix transport. Highly recommend as someone that visits many Bundesliga grounds.
The Worms Cathedral of St. Peter is a stunning example of early Gothic architecture, featuring four round towers and an opulent Baroque interior. In contrast to the Romanesque style of Speyer's cathedral, St. Peter's is a symbol of the city and draws both occasional and dedicated visitors with its majestic presence. From afar, the cathedral impresses with its grandeur, and it does not disappoint upon closer inspection.
Again and again I have seen this beauty from afar on my many bike rides and have not been disappointed. It looks impressive, you won't be disappointed here. The impression from afar really did not deceive me

I was so excited to explore and just be I. The same city as this church. The architecture and history here is just stunning. Every area is very detailed and since being built around 1120 it has been maintained and kept in impeccable shape. I would suggest seeing this church. And don’t forget to check out the street filled with monuments and statues of some of the most important figures of the cathedrals/cities history.

WOW, just wow. What an experience to see this Dom. Glad I came. 🥰

Dom St. Peter is the number 1 tourist attraction of Worms. Though you can find many similar cathedrals across Germany or Europe and neither is it the grandest one, I like it due to its few special features.
First, it is the shape of the high towers. They are cylindrical rather than the commonly seen rectangular. The stained glasses, not the ones showing religious stories or holy figures but the plain ones, are lovely. Together with some of the stone and wood cravings displayed inside, it made my visit pleasant and tranquillizing though I am not a religious person.

Quite a stunning medieval structure!
Even though the smallest out of Rhenish imperial cathedrals (Mainz, Speyer and Worms) it certainly does not lack any beauty to its counterparts. Also the youngest among them, built with red colored bricks around the year 1130, this cathedral is a dominant of Worms.
However, finding a great overview of the cathedral from the outside turned out to be a rather difficult task. The west end, also the front of the cathedral was under construction (there is also an entrance to the premises of the cathedral that was closed) and the whole north part of Schlossplatz was covered by tribunes for a musical event. The best views can be appreciated from the south side - the park area with an iron miniature of the cathedral - where the entrance is located. The little rose garden, left to the entrance, is decent, but not really well maintained.
The inner parts resemble many other cathedrals around Germany, however I find the main nave quite different, the ambience there is pure and simple. Miniature model of the complex is on display in one of the transept, stained glass windows are to be admired throughout the cathedral and a gorgeous high altar is a great masterpiece. I also enjoyed the gothic reliefs from the abandoned cloisters hanging on the walls. Unfortunately there is not a possibility to enter any of its four towers, however the tiny crypt is available for exploration.
A small souvenir stall is located inside the cathedral, offering, apart from postcards and memorabilia, informative English brochures for a 50 cents donation.
Worth to visit while in town, visited in August 2022.

Worms is one of Germany’s oldest city besides Trier and the Dom St Peter, consecrated June 9, 1018 which it’s foundation erected by Bishop Burchard +1025, the high altar on the east side was created by Balthasar Neumann who brought the sculptor Johan Wolfgang von der Auvera between 1738-1742 after the great city fire in Worms 1689. The two figures larger than life size figures of St Peter complete with the rooster saying “you will betray me three times before I crowed” and St Paul on the other side , this altar at a glance has a breath of Barrock influence. Also the Gothic signs are every where to find such as the apse combing a woman hair, the roosters etc. Btw Worms also known for the place where in 1521 Martin Luther refused the catholic believe. On top of it all Worms also has been a city of winemaking since the Romans brought wine here.

Four towered church in the middle of city worms provides a warm ambience once you enter the church. Along the wall you will see the sculpture of Biblical stories or events. Colourful stained glass window panes bring in mystic light. It is equally beautiful from outside.

What an incredible experience. Tge richness of history, if you take a little time to uncover it, will impress. To be in a place and let yourself go back in time to imagine the sites and sounds, is such an adventure. The Dom St. Peter is one of those places that makes it easy to do just that. Walking the grounds and through the buildings lets you travel back in time over some of history's greatest events ranging from the early days of the Reformation to the tragedies of World War II.
Solemn and peaceful. Make sure to bring a head covering if you're a man.

(Translated by Google) Very special and emotional. Graves from about 1800 and older. Sometimes very bizarre in the way they stand. Also known rabbis. Sometimes with stones on the tombstone itself. You do this when you know him or are family. Just as we lay a flower, a stone is placed there instead of the gravestone. Also sometimes a sign on the gravestone of, for example, 2 hands. That was, for example, someone with a profession as manual worker. Very special and also knows scary

Sophisticated hotel offering free breakfast, parking & Wi-Fi, plus regional dining & a spa.
We loved our stay at Hotel Kloster Hirsau! Victoria, who checked us in, was so friendly and helpful. We loved our room. We noticed in one review it said the rooms needed updating. We totally disagree! Our room was perfectly clean, and the older style, we feel, kept with the antiquity of the little town. It felt like we had stepped back in time, but the beds were obviously newer, as were the bathrooms. So it was new where you would want it to be, but with the older style, which we thought was perfect!
It is in a good location, close to the main town square, but we did drive most places.
We did have the breakfast buffet one morning, and it was a decent buffet with both hot and cold items and different breads.
If we ever get back to Calw, we will stay here!

We went for a Saturday to Sunday mini trip. Unfortunately, Hotel Hirsau was not suitable. We arrived after 8pm and just made it to the restaurant who were already in a hurry to close. We wanted to use the pool/sauna but couldn't. In the evening on Saturday they were already closed and then we were told that hotel services are not offered after checkout at 11am on Sunday plus the sauna is not on until 2pm. So that didn't work either. This made it impossible for us to use the facilities :-( If you like a relaxed weekend morning, you also won't make it to the breakfast which closes at 10am. This timetable of this hotel is for business but not suited for a leisure weekend visit.

Train to the top of the mountain. Buying a ticket was easy at the ticket machine, cash or card. Wait for the next car was no longer than ten minutes, really. Room for about 12 people on there, we only had 6 on our trip up. Parasailers were on our ride, with their equipment, and there was still plenty of room. The casino is a beautiful and luxurious place with baccarat and roulette tables. It's frequented by famous people like Dostoyevsky and Marlene Dietrich. The basement has slot machines for losers only, but it's still classy and stylish. The barman is also very cool.
We were here for a surprise 3 course Menu. The food was very tasty, portions not big, but big enough at the end of the evening.

Why it lost one start- Entrance fees are ridiculous for a casino- house wins plus drinks are properly priced so not needed if a dress code is enforced (to keep out no players or keep it classy)
Why 4 stars? Great building. Tables are nice and clean and well run. Table mins are fully reasonable (10€ for blackjack and 2€ for roulette). Bar has quality drinks.

Beautiful casino which was an awesome setting for the company dinner. The game area itself had a slightly weird mix, some yuppies who seemed overly eager to show their wealth or show off in some way and some who looked quite miserable and were probably gambling addicts.
So the place itself was very clean, friendly and alert staff. The prices are very much adjusted and it felt like in Switzerland with 17€ for a longdrink seems like a lot for germany.

Impressive and beautiful historical casino. Stumbled across the casino tour by accident and we were glad we visited. Got to see the splendour of the lavishly designed casino which underwent renovations in 2016 and 2019. Retain their historical splendour. They will ask you to rent jacket if you are a man hist with a coat. For women they are flexible. So 10 euros the rented jacket 2 euros wardrobe, 5 euros entrance t start with. Roulette tables don't have chairs and you have to pay to drinks. So there is a negative vibe before you start betting. On the other side it's a magnificent building, nice atmosphere and playing in such a palace its an experience to live.

Mummelsee is a lake situated in the Black Forest mountain range, surrounded by dense vegetation. It boasts spectacular views of the mountains and offers visitors a chance to experience tranquility and relaxation. The lake is 17 meters deep, making it ideal for activities such as pedal boating. I took a spontaneous trip to Mummelsee Lake this past fall, hopping on the X45 bus from Baden-Baden - super straightforward, by the way. When I got there, the whole lake was hidden under this thick blanket of fog. It was so surreal and peaceful, like something out of a fantasy book.
I walked around for a bit, the only sounds were my footsteps and the soft lapping of water. Then, out of nowhere, the fog started clearing, and bam - the most gorgeous view hit me. Sunlight broke through, lighting up the fall colors around the lake. It's not just the calm water or the trees; it's the whole vibe that gets you.
Honestly, pictures don’t do it justice. You’ve got to stand there and take it all in - the quiet, the cool air, and the kind of peace that makes you forget your phone's in your pocket.
And it's not some over-the-top tourist spot; it's just naturally, effortlessly beautiful. Great for a slow, thoughtful stroll, or just to chill and clear your head. So glad I made the trip; it was a total reset. Recommend it big time if you're in the area. Easy to reach, hard to forget.

Recreated Black Forest village farm of 16th-18th centuries, with storehouse, bakery, mills & crafts.
This place was so incredible - authentic buildings that were placed here for preservation. Just the history alone makes it worth it, but the beauty of the museum farm is absolutely exquisite. Normally closed today, but our tour group had prearranged to have dome access. We were given the opportunity to explore two of the homes that are very well preserved, and our guide did a great job with the farm operation and history. They gave us a hot lunch and accessed the cuckoo shop where we had two short presentations on carving and movements. A very good day considering the rain.

It is a beautiful place with lots of information all over, plus free guides at certain hours. There are also lots of workshops showing everything from washing laundry, to pottery, cooking and more. The interactions with the workshop staff are friendly and informative.
There is lot of parking. Visiting the museum, one gets a price reduction to parking.
In spite of large crowds, one can find hidden spots to enjoy and soak in the atmosphere.
Large cues are possible but the ticket staff work quite fast.
There is also a fairly large playground for the children

Another super cool stop. This place shows off how people of the way way back in Germany and in the Black Forest would have lived. How their houses and farms were set up and how their roles played into daily life. They also have transported other old homes to the land and transplanted them to the grounds to show off many different types of houses to preserve German history. The Black Forest ham on site is so good. Surprise as an American seeing the ham is cured and not lunch meat like I’m used to and that the cake has alcohol in it, but worth the try for sure. This is a must stop.

This place is definitely a worth to take kids to explain and learn 16th and 19th centuries how people lived and how evolution happend. But only think ticket is I feel bit costly. For 2 adults and 2 kids 33 Euro and Parking 4 Euro per day. For dog also they charged 0.50 cents. If you are visiting Black Forest area then worth visiting. It’s roughy you can spend 2 to 3 hr.

One ride usually more than enaugh for a grown up... kids seem to want more but at least my 14 year old had enaugh after 3 rides but was forced to finish all the 6 rides he wanted in the first place 😆 Price for o e ride is fair, EUR 3,50 for grown but 2,50 for 14 an younger. 6 fare tickets available for kids at EUR 11. Minimum waiting time for a ride so it more or less goes quickly.

Authentic roller coaster in Black Forest. Credit card is accepted and multiple ride tickets are transferable. Recommended 🎢

Really enjoyed this as did my 12 year old son, partner and friends. Lovely picturesque setting and pure adrenaline. Toboggans are a single rider or adult and child.

Just wow!!! One of the best rides I have ever had..... More like a rollercoaster that you get to drive on your own 🤭 The staff were very humble and even took pictures when requested. They made sure that everyone wasn't nervous and checked up on us if we had a great time!

Good fun for the family. Tickets are reasonably priced for the length of the ride. The waiting times are quite good and the queue moves fast.

Great fun for the whole family. Beautiful setting. Only down side was the queue was almost 1/2 hour and we went 3 times so felt a lot of waiting. They did add extra karts on our last go so that sped it up a bit. Didn’t eat here as the options didn’t appeal.

🤩 Best place to enjoy the Bob ride. Costs €4 per ride or €18 for 6 rides. 6 ride pass can be shared with others. The ride lasts for 5 min. Its better to go early atleast by 10:30 am to skip waiting or else you might need to wait 10 min for each ride. There are small lockers provided for free with a deposit of €2 which will be returned back. There is a restaurant for food and drink options. Nearest bus stop is Gutach Freilichtmeusem, take a bus from Housach or Hornberg
