Small park with a circular route past elk, raccoon & wolf habitats, plus a petting zoo & food kiosk.
Beautiful place were to spend some quality time with the family, not to crowded, very beautiful, and very interesting for kids

Although it seemed like a small and modest zoo, it provided a very rich experience. This is the first zoo which I could bring my dog in with me. There were free roaming goats, and it was delightful to be able to interact with them, as well as other animals in pens, like the rabbits. You can even feed a reindeer. The enclosures were well maintained and seemed well designed. I also really liked the wolf enclosure, which I thought mimicked the forest quite well, and you can see the wolf pack walking around together in it. The entrance fee is very affordable, and there is a carpark right across the road.

We had am amazing day, even though it was quite rainy and dark, but truly we had so much fun. The park is beautiful and the animals are adorable, you can feed the goats , some of them running around free at the park, super cute 😊 with or without kids, young or older, it's a great program, just to recommend 🤩
Márta Debreczeni-Hiereth — Google review
Beautiful little animal park with lot's of animals, highly recommend, 5 stars 🤩
At entrance you are welcome by friendly goats, just amazing!! Parking is 3e and ticket 6e ✌️
Darko Simunic — Google review
It is actually a lot bigger than expected. They have lots of big owls, elks, raindeer, and also wolves, foxes, goats, bisons and others birds from Eurasia. Really nice setting and it's only 6€ for adults and you can buy food at the gate to feed the animals for 50 cents. Ensure you bring cash as they don't take cards in the Cafe inside the park. A half day activity with the kids. Definetly worth it.
Gus Arango — Google review
A great park to visit!! It's a lot bigger than it looked on the map! If you go plan at least a 3-4 hour visit. There is a small kiosk to buy food and drinks at very reasonable prices! I suggest going during the week and later in the afternoon because it's not so busy.
Tony Buckley — Google review
Very good entry prices for the value. A lot of animals around and nice that the kids can interact with them.
The Wolfes can be seen very closely, which is not the case in many zoos. The prices are also very fair. It's a recommendation definetly.
The parking price can be used as a discount for the entry fee (2/3 EUR: stand June 2021).

Cool little zoo. A very impressive collection of birds especially owls. The zoo follows a logical path ensuring you miss nothing. Clean facilities and great for kids.
Elliot — Google review
Very fine ZOO were you can interract a little bit with some animals like rabbits, ducks, goats etc. Nice place for a family trip (also because it’s not so big).
Family-friendly theme park with water rides & slides, roller coasters, go-karts & miniature golf.
Great place for kids aged 4-12.
The rides were really perfect for our 5 and 9 year old kids. Not too boring, not too scary, but a perfect fit.
Plus, there's two bumper car rides (in German: autoscooter). You don't have to pay and wait for the ride to start, but grab a car and join.
I also like the atmosphere in the park. It is a little bit older, but very attractive and down-to-earth.
Thorsten Hehn — Google review
A wonderful time with our Granddaughter. The entire park is made for everyone to enjoy. Rides for all ages included withing the entrance price. Wonderful walking paths or ride around the park on a park train. Enjoy the Flower Gardens and there are 2 BLACK SWANS for you to enjoy.
Dave American Mann — Google review
Nice park, suitable for 2-13 year old, however especially 6-10 year old children need to be accompanied still in most rides. The parks botanic is really beautiful, but somewhat unattended. The hygiene concept in this park is very questionable, with no disinfection possibilities other than at the toilets and "mandatory" adress registration folder laying unattended in the restaurants. Food prices are through the roof, so better be self-suppliant. There are better parks than this one.
Melanie Fuchs — Google review
We had a really good time with 2 kids in lovely summer day. You can spend here all day easily without waiting in a queue.
Food and drinks are quite expensive here.
If you are fed up with attractions you can hide in "Little Versailles" gardens.
Veronika Lo — Google review
One of the best amusement parks , especially for you family with 3yr old kid. All the rides are enjoyable. We visited on Monday and enjoyed fullest. Service is friendly. People can spend 3-5 hrs. Many kid friendly rides and designed for kids. Go for it if you go near by.
Update: 14May2022
3rd time in the park as we love it. But this time on a Saturday, the park is little busy. There is some waiting time for Dashing Cars, Go-cart, and water rafting ride. The Park closes at 5PM. Other rides are ok. So, don't go on weekend.

2020 - Nice, especially for kids under 12.
2022 - We was back this year and a little has changed. A lot of attractions are managed by young guys or girls: once they start the machines they keep on watching the celly phone instead of the kids, they even seem to be working. This happened a lot of times. To the owner: be careful of the security of your guests and take a look of the workers always playing with telephones.

Great place for the kids. Does not matter how full it might look like..still there is room for everyone to have fun...I just love it.
Abdelrahman Erlebach — Google review
Great park for kids up to about 10 to 12. There is a bit for every kid from sandpits and waterslides to a bobsled track and a wild water ride. It feels like a small family run place and it quite a few of the people operating the rides operate two or three of them at once walking from one to another.
It all feels kind of dated like time forgot about the place and that gives it a special charm.
If you have small kids and are in the area it most certainly is worth a visit on a nice summer day.

(Translated by Google) The most worth seeing bridge in Amberg is the popularly called Stadtbrille. A water gate with a length of 46 meters was first mentioned in 1454 and bridges the Vils. Several renovations were carried out up to 1698. Since then, the bridge has had its current appearance. A great photo opportunity and certainly a must when visiting Amberg.

Die wohl sehenswerteste Brücke in Amberg ist die volkstümlich genannte Stadtbrille. Ein Wassertorbau mit 46 Metern Länge, wurde 1454 erstmals erwähnt und überbrückt die Vils. The Singing Fountain, also known as Zpivajici Fontana, is a popular tourist attraction featuring over 250 water jets that dance to classical and popular music. Lit up after dark, the fountain offers seasonal displays with hourly performances throughout the day and evening. Built as part of the reconstruction of the Maxim Gorky Promenade in the 1980s, this architectural marvel was designed by Pavel Miksik and features specially composed music by Petr Hapka.
A very appropriate attraction for this amazing surroundings. Check showtimes before heading there.

Nice place to visit. Every hour plays a different classic composition with exception from Nothing else matters by Metallica. The fountain changes water patterns according to music and it is made very tastefully. You can sit in a coffee shop nearby and enjoy the show.
Jovan Jocovic — Google review
If playing pre-recorded music to a water fountain is a tourist attraction, my morning showers are worthy of a map pin. To be fair this visit was during daytime and there might be more to the spectacle at night with lights. For me, the most surprising aspect in visiting this fountain was the "reborn" meetup surrounding the outer fountain wall with proud collectors displaying their babies and vintage carriages, filling the space between the on-the-hour fountain event with photo opps galore.
Ken Habarta — Google review
Nice fountain with a very beautiful spectacle every hour: light and water tricks with classic music in the background. Super recommended.
Carlo Casu — Google review
Great place to visit, it plays every even hour and each day the music is shuffled so any time you visit it is a chance to hear something new. Try slow-mo mode on your phone for great results to remember.

Iconic and yet very gorgeous colonnade which represents the whole Marienbad. It is very similar like Carlsbad colonnade and what is very cute, that u can feel, that it is feminine-like architecture in its form and architectural accent. It is not worse nor bad, it is simply Marienbad icon, which represents the character of this place. The only thing which is bit sad is the flooring, which should be reconstructed and changed to some marble, limestone or other much higher quality material that will last. But by the end of the day, still beautiful.

Second time visiting here and going through the labyrinth. Many tight spaces between rocks that you have to squeeze your way though, but nothing overly difficult. Can be a bit muddy in some of the narrow areas after it rains, so might be best to avoid going if it recently rained a lot. The main trail is easily doable in under 2hrs, however there are some cool side trails leading to outlooks and structures that are worth doing. Overall a cool experience.

You need to pay to park and pay an entrance fee, but I think it’s worth it. Gorgeous hiking trails and unexpected rock crevices. The rock formations are very cool. Would recommend hiking shoes / good sneakers.
Alexandra Hanson — Google review
We visited with our kids (13 & 11) who loved exploring the area by themselves. There are two main routes through - one up, and one down. We were there on a quiet day, but still felt as if we were trying to find our own space and pace on the routes. I imagine when it’s busier that it may feel a little rushed. I don’t recommend doing the route if you’re not able to squeeze through small spaces or remain bent down to get through rocky tunnels. Good grippy shoes recommended. A few benches to stop and admire the surroundings and some great views from the elevated lookout spots. The car park is large and there’s a cafeteria style place at the entrance/exit for something to eat and drink. Recommended if you want to exercise the kids and give them some natural adventure time.

Amazing place. Beautiful to trees and huge stones. Liked it a lot. On some spots you have to squeeze yourselves through some narrow spots between the stones. That's something to keep in mind though. But that made it more fun for us also...

Soos Nature Reserve
A nature reserve, curiosity and European rarity in one!
The Soos National Nature Reserve lies not far from Františkové Lázně. The vast peat bogs with lakes, mineral springs and gaseous carbon dioxide springs are reminiscent of a prehistoric landscape. The most interesting places include a nature trail that leads directly above the bogs along meandering wooden walkways. You can see a natural geological park, a museum dedicated to the local nature, the history of the Earth and an exhibition of life-size models of prehistoric animals.
It also shows the flora and fauna endemic to this species due to the specific geological conditions of the soil and subsoil.

This place is worth a visit. The first part of the walk is not spectacular, mainly walking through a swamp. It gets much more interesting though, with a near moon-like landscape including a lot of geysers (which may not be the right term here). Odd to pay for a walk through nature, but well worth a visit.

The Diana observation tower offers breathtaking views of the city and distant mountain ranges. It can be reached by funicular or hiking, and is well-worth the effort for those who want to get a sense of Karlovy Vary's stunning surroundings.
Great view over the Karlovy Vary valley. There is even elevator up and down 😲. Worth to walk there as the forest park around is really nice 👍.

Must to visit place in Karlovy Vary. You can walk all the way up or cheat and use very unique cable lift. I was cheating of course. There is a small fee to be paid and off you go. Observation tower is walking distance from the cable lift station and there is a restaurant with the butterfly farm next to it. Entry to the tower is free of charge and there are steps up and down or lift in the middle. From there you can see the whole town of Karlovy Vary.
Michal Valent — Google review
Absolutely stunning lookout. The lift was under maintenance apparently but i managed to climbed the 150 steps, it wasn’t that bad at all for average for healthy person. I went on Wednesday in November so there were no waiting times at all! Perfect! Went to their restaurant to refill the tummy, took some awesome photos in the beautiful autumn trees nearby. Worth it! If you dont visit here then you definitely do not officially explored karlovy vary town. Just make sure you take the right funicular/train, not the one in Imperial station as i made a mistake by going there.
Tried to buy funicular ticket online but couldn’t find the button on the website. Czech website kinda sucks most of them.

This tower stands at a scenic viewpoint from which you can see the forests and the mountains and the town of Karlovy Vary nestled in the valley below. Many of the visitors to Karlovy Vary over the centuries have visited here, including Goethe. A funicular takes up to the top of the hill the. You can take an elevator free of charge to go to the summit, there are also pleasant paths and hikes through the surrounding woods. There is also a restaurent and small zoo with many cute little piggies 🐷.

Went up in Winter. Be prepared for cold weather with high winds but totally worth it for the view! Make sure to climb the tower on the top of the hill as it is free and gives you a 360 degree view of Karlovy Vary and the surrounding countryside.

It was one of the nicest towers I've visited in the EU. 150 wide steps, all uniform construction, too, plus they are completely enclosed.
I like the signs telling you what is in the distance from each section of the lookout area. There's an elevator as well. I imagine maintenance funds come from the cable car fees (which were reasonable) from Karlovy Vary, just behind the famous Grandhotel Pupp.
Mallena Urban — Google review
Good observation point over old Karlovy Vary. It is reachable by feet over mild steep tracks over the hill or the one can purchase a ticket for a small up hill rope driven train. Observation tower has a lift and stairs, of course. For our great surprise - lift was free of charge.

Karlovy Vary's most famous hot spring is Vridelní kolonáda, which has a geyser that can spurt out up to 2000 litres per minute. There are also four other springs inside the building, which visitors can sample for free. This tourist attraction is a popular spot in Karlovy Vary, with many people coming to soak in the thermal water and see the geyser.

Overall i'd give this place five stars if the tour wasn't so short and quite boring. The massive indoor spring was super cool. The water that you could drink was hot and had minerals. (I preferably don't like it) And the people there spoke many languages and were quite nice. 👍

It said the tours were closed for the time we came there on January 4th. We can see a small portion of what's underground from the bridge but from what I have hear the caves are very special.

Nice place to hide especially when there is a rainy day. There are 3 thermals springs, the hottest in the area (72 Celsius) and the coolest (30 Celsius).
There are some souvenirs shops, a toilet (10 kronen per person) and a couple of relaxing chairs.
Also there is a coffee shop and if you want to sit and rest your feet for a while you can sit on the marble near the windows; it is warm.

I have been visiting the hot spring colonnade for many years and over the years it changed a lot and also some aspects didn't change at all. They always sold items here, like mineral water drinking cups, petrified roses, porcelain, and glass. Now there are a high number of stands with cheap Chinese stuff. The entire atmosphere was not pleasant and I got dirty feel from it. The colonnade used to be light, with clean glass and a lot of plants inside. There is no entrance fee and the colonnade closes at 6pm.

Great experience.
Have been several times now and always enjoy it.
Get amongst it, buy your little water sipper and then have some fun tasting all the different springs.
There are 15 in total, all with varying flavours and temperatures.
Find a good parking spot close enough to walk, toilets will all cost you 10kc.
Lots of Russians here and plenty of rich people as well.

Our first "major" stop during our road trip back to Lithuania from Germany. We did not expect anything special, since it is winter period after all, how ever we ended up being surprisingly pleased. We have never been in Czech Republic before and so, we thought it is a good idea to take a peak inside of it as we drove back. And to be honest, it surely has its ups and downs. For example, the nature is really beautiful regardless of the fact that it is winter. But that is not what I am writing about. This natural spring fountain got us surprised. In the morning we just saw a large cloud of vapor coming out from the river and we went to investigate it. And then we saw that fountain, which occasionally spurs out some vapor. It was my personal first time encountering this type of a sight. However, it was not as spectacular as some may describe. But overall, a decent sightsee to see if you end up in Czech.

To most people it is an unique experience to visit the town and taste different types of spring water. These spring waters can be helpful to your health and will show effect after drinking continuously for 4 to 6 weeks. The place attracts many rich people all over the world each year from spring to autumn. It has many top class 5 star hotels. The most famous hotel is the Grand Hotel Pupp. It has been appeared in one of the James Bond movie.

The Mill Colonnade is a Neo-Renaissance design with 124 columns that stretches across the heart of the old town in Karlovy Vary. The colonnade features five hot springs and an orchestra space, which makes it the perfect place to start your day or end your night.
Lovely place to walk in summer listen to classical music and look at sculptures this time of metal, other times of sand.

I am not sure why this place (or the colonnades in Karlovy Vary) are so special. Sure, it is some nice architecture to look at, but otherwise they mostly seem to have no function. If you are hanging around, they are a good reference point to find downtown, but to me they did not offer much else.

The visitor center of the Moser Glass Museum offers an insightful and entertaining glimpse into the world of glassmaking, with demonstrations of historic pieces as well as displays of contemporary glassblowing techniques. The museum is housed within the original 1893 Ludwig Moser workshop, which remains a reference point for the craft to this day.
Dont miss to visit this Museum! It it the place where you can find all these real Bohemian Crystals. Here originates those Crystals also from Swarowski. They are so wonderful and indescribably beautiful. We were able to buy some colorful drinking Glasses as souvenirs.

First let me say a visit to Karlovy Vary will blow your mind! It's a beautiful small "spa" town nestled at the bottom of a lush valley with multiple hot mineral springs offering passersby the opportunity to fill their specially designed porcelain cups with the mineral rich liquid.
My visit to the Moser Glass Factory was one of the most interesting tours I've ever taken. You will find a small museum (where we unfortunately didn't have much time to spend there) filled with some of the most beautiful pieces of glassworks I've ever seen, a gift shop with items ranging from low-high, and a courtyard with some very interesting pieces of glass art.
Eventually we made our way to the factory for a guided tour and it was unbelievable. The temperature inside the factory is well over 110 degrees while men are blowing, turning, shaping and cutting hot liquid glass into their end product. It is a process that didn't appear to have changed over the centuries. I would highly recommend a visit to this pearl of the Czech Republic. And if you can, afford yourself a small treasure from the Moser Glass Factory. It's a true Czech souvenir!

A visit to the Moser museum glass factory is well worth the trip. Although the factory is small, we had an english speaking tour guide who explained every aspect of the process in detail. Waste of time and you pay 5 euros entrance. The museum is the size of two rooms, you finish it in 3 minutes. The ones shown there are simple and not impressive at all. Next to it is a glass shop which is much better and free, but it's not worth visiting there either. Do not arrive

"I had the opportunity to visit the Museum of Glass MOSER and was truly impressed by the beauty and craftsmanship on display. I was struck by the stunning architecture of the museum building, which was once a glassworks. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to the Museum of Glass MOSER. Whether you're a fan of glass art or just looking for a unique and interesting museum experience, you won't be disappointed. There are postcards, posters, and small model cars for sale in the main building if you're looking for souvenirs. I strongly recommend this location if you are serving or have served in the US Army 2d Cavalry Regiment, as some of its Cold War legacy can be found here.

We are an English family, just to be clear. This museum is an absolute eye opener. One of the best displays of the East-West Germany divide outside of Berlin. This community was divided right through the middle by the wall. The village was known as "Little Berlin".
The staff were amazing and did everything they could to help us as we don't speak good German! The display of the checkpoint and wall are extremely interesting. There are a lot of monuments as well.
There is also a vehicle museum. It is in a separate building up the hill, though the ticket is required for entry to all museum sections. Don't forget to check if out! There are toilets and a gift shop. Everything is disability accessible, but this is not really a great museum for a rainy day! If you like your recent history, this museum is 100% worth visiting!

A vey interesting, informative little museum. The movie and the information boards outside have English versions. Unfortunately, the indoor museum displays are only in German. This museum was an excellent experience for our teenagers who weren't entirely familiar with the division of Germany during the Cold War. A must visit location for any student of history who is interested in the "Cold War" as experienced in Germany. While the Berlin wall gets a lot more attention the fascinating case of Mödlareuth is one that should get a lot more attention. Here was another town literally split in two once German was divided into East and West. On site museum, gift shop, and sample of vehicles really added to the experience. Highly recommend it.
Fred T — Google review
Terrific educational and historical gem of a divided town and smaller museum whose preservations are still on-going that houses different types of exhibitions (vehicles, historical accounts/photos, outside wall and watchtower, plus surrounding other facets, library). English is limited (outside placards excellent plus video). Well worth the drive out here (in this town cell signal may be lost so pay attention for when Google Maps won't load!). Ample parking and cheap €3 entrance price.
Brian Parker — Google review
The German-German Museum in Mödlareuth is well worth a visit. Only a 10 min drive from the motorway. Easy to find, well signposted. Mostly everything is outside so it really is a "weather dependent" visit. The original wall and outer fencing is still in place. Everything is in German and English. Imagine living in a small village, seperated in the middle by a stream dividing two counties and state systems. Families and friends seperated. Border guards given a "shoot to kill" order if anyone crossed over illegally. That is how it was in this small village with around 40 inhabitants! Go visit it, an education for young and old.

As a young soldier in the early 1980's, I spent a lot of time on patrol in this area. I returned about 2 months ago as I wanted to show my children "what I did in the Army". The items displayed brought back many great and proud memories of my younger days. I even actual worked with Master Sergeant O'Connell, who's uniform top is on display in the museum. This is a definite must see for anyone who wants to better understand how Germany was divided for some 40 years. I have so many more pictures of my time there, but did not want to clog up this email. Extremely rich architecture. The schedule of the park goes from 10 to 5pm, which is definitely enough, considering the park is not so big.
4 stars because i feel like it could be improved, music in the "machines" should be a must and could also be more interactive to guests, with characters walking around or something. Also some fun stuff were closed for fixing, which was sad! But still a good cute place to go

Lovely park with high potential. It has a few special rides that are quite unique, such as the iconic water ride. We went on a cold Wednesday and we’re done in 4 hours. No waiting times. I’d like to see some more love for details tough. Just random stuff standing around or missing plants made the entire park feel less immersive and a little cheap to be honest.

We went for the first and last time here.
The price is too high in comparison to the offer, which is mostly for children of very young age.
It was a very sunny day, and there were absolutely not even one way to be in the shadows while waiting in the queues nor while walking around.
And lastly the overall state of the few attractions is really bad. The last renovation of the parc must have been done during the DDR.
Would the price had been 15 euros, it would be okay. But not 38 € for that.
Never again

Park isn’t bad. Deduction of stars for occasionally unfriendly staff particularly at the rides (they should receive communication training), partially dirty restaurants (check the coffee machines in the “Schloßcafé”), and high prices. When there ought to be free water fountains for drinking you’ll pay through your nose for a bottle of water. 0.5 l will set you back EUR 3.70. Greedy much? Come on – let's have some water at least for a reasonable price after we've paid admission already.

Honestly, I was told to lower my expectations when coming here. As a result, I came to the park with very little expectations, but all my fears were for nothing.
The park is very open, and there is nice theming for most of the attractions. I especially like the pyramid water ride, it’s quite unique. Staff is very friendly and even spoke English! (Was not expecting that to be honest). Pricing is on point too.
Food-wise they can still improve. We took the pasta, and the adult portions seemed like they were meant for children. (They weren’t, we checked).
Still, we had a great time here. I hope they try to water their grass a bit more, it would make a big difference and make everything seem a bit more green. Fun park though.

We went to balentis on 18 July, it was 32 degree, super hot Day. We have almost all rollercost rides experienced, the best one is the biggest one: Red one, if u dare to do it, you wont regret it. And the second one is the pyramide boat, after a shock downhilk riding you u can ride it later on the small canal.
Bring your Kids here, There are food and drinks also. If u choose family menu, it would be cheaper.
All the assistances are super friendly and funny, even they are off duty, when u meet them on Road, they will still greet you warmly.
The food is not so tasty, typical touriste site disadvantages, couldnt blâme.
But the photo shot quality is so bad, and the size is so small. Compare to the amusement Park Karls, which has a A4 size and charge only 4 euros, here 5 euros with a super small size, quite disappointing.
But above all, its quite a good expérience.
The Karl-Heine-Kanal is an artificial waterway that flows through the western part of Leipzig, connecting the Lindenau harbor with the White Elster. Pros
Pleasant pathways alongside the kanal, sometimes you'll find shady playgrounds and benches.
Rawing folks swarm too and fro summertime {boat sup rent is possible}
There's a small group - riverboat sightseeing tour alongside the kanal.
Cons
There's no consistent access to the kanal from every public place! Not every bridge had been connected. Locals know some pathes /shortcuts: they are driving through backyards but this possibilities depend on opening hours.
{for Leipzigers: It's worth to overthink the London canal example}

8€ for the entrance to a short walk with some info about chocolate...I personally do not see the excitement. And the price for that ticket do not worth the inside. Well run museum filled with fossils and displays of ancient Europe. There are many displays of the people who once inhabited Europe with artifacts of jewelry, tools and weapons.
We came to see the mysterious Nebra Sky Disc and the Hand of Parëles. These two bronze objects are thought to be at least 5,000 years old and are of unknown origin or function. Beautifully presented they are wonders to behold with metals from England and the Carpathian Mountains?!
There are audio tours in English and few of the exhibits are in English. Not a problem though as you can work it out.

Great presentation of interesting fossils, skeletons, prehistoric tools, crafts, art from the surrounding archaeological sites. Time covered from the neandertals to the roman empire. Good mix of things to see and read. The astronomical disc of Nebra is displayed and explained. Recommend.
Just a thing that should be in your bucket list if you don't live in Germany.

One of the best places to visit in Dessau,06844, Germany.
Historical buildings,with long history.

When you walk inside the building you can imagine gears and cogs fricting against each other, the building functions as a grinding chew, doors slamming, brisk walking, sometimes i feel lucky to be in this city, most times i feel i can't escape the big old W&B "Modern Times" by charlie chaplin, The Shop itself is a piece of art!

The building itself is gorgeous and an outstanding example of the Bauhaus in Dessau. The ground floor houses and exhibition and there are some modern art pieces on the second floor but besides that the building is quite empty. Nevertheless, the videos on the history of Bauhaus are quite informative. Also, the biggest gift shop for Bauhaus.

Nice impression of the former education and teaching rooms. Classical, clean architecture. You can walk by yourself or take a tour. Take one hour. Cafe available downstairs.

Just as it clocks 100 years soon, I had the opportunity to take a tour around the Bauhaus Dessau and was blown away by its significance in the world of design, art, and architecture. The building is a masterpiece of modern architecture, with its clean lines and minimalist aesthetic still looking fresh and contemporary today despite it being constructed almost a century ago.
The tour provided an interesting insight into how the Bauhaus has shaped modern design and technology, providing a foundation for innovation that countless architects, designers, and artists still draw upon today.
The designs and creations of the Bauhaus school are on display throughout, and there are many interactive exhibits providing an immersive experience that showcases how technology is shaping the future of design.
If you have any interest in architecture, design, or art, I would highly recommend visiting this iconic landmark. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate, and the building is a testament to the innovative spirit of the Bauhaus movement.
I would fully recommend doing a tour, you learn so much more than you would going around on your own and you are still free to wonder around yourself afterwards. It’s a super inspiring and story rich place to visit. Would recommend to anyone even remotely interested in design and modernism.

Must see for all Bauhaus freaks 😉 The only downside is that the houses are not fully furnished, so you do miss some experience. Never than less it's worth to see them once you visit Dessau.

The master house has been rebuilt by the berlin based studio Bruno Fioretti Marques in a contemporary way: volume and windows has been restored with new materials like light concrete and milky glass. Inside you will find a permanent installation of Olaf Nicolai with shades of white in the wall and temporary pieces of other artists. You can also see small models of the houses.

The original was demolished, except for the car garage. Rebuilt and re-imaged as an exhibition space. Surprising reinvention of the original house form.
The Jahrtausendturm museum is a cone-shaped edifice with a viewing deck and an outside ramp. It houses exhibits on science and technology, making it an ideal destination for scientific enthusiasts. Although the museum is worth visiting, it can be challenging to reach as visitors have to traverse Elbauenpark on foot for some time. Combining this attraction with other activities in the park would be a wise idea.
This is an educational trip , even for an couple like us . There is alot to be learnt in the sciences. Theories and simple examples for one to understand them and put to effect. It's also very educational for the kids . Take note that if you plan to visit this sight we would suggest that you use public transport as its easily accessible that way as parking lots are quite a distance away .

The tallest wooden building in Europe. I bought the ticket to enter the park, and took the electric car to get there. A beautiful scene can be seen from the top, which is reached after climbing 243 steps or 450 meters on the exterior ramp.
This 60-meter-tall structure in the Elbauenpark is shaped like an unusual cone. The Jahrtausendturm's interior is home to an exhibition that spans five floors and 6,000 years of human history, tracing the evolution of science. With each new level, you will advance through history, beginning with Ancient Egyptian mathematics and continuing through Medieval medicine, Renaissance mechanics and alchemy, and modern inventions like the telescope and printing press.

Time goes by so fast when you take a look at all these expositions. Great view as well.

This is free with the park entrance ticket (8 euro) and was well worth a visit. Surprisingly, we stayed for almost 2 hours because there was a lot to look at and, even more fun, a lot to touch and try and experiment with. Highly recommend having a look (the building is very cool to see inside) and I'd imagine kids would love it.
Not great support if you don't speak German.

Good place to visit but google map doesn’t show correct way to enter it!! The entrance is too far from what google map shows!!!
Shaped like an irregular cone, this edifice in the Elbauenpark was built for the new millennium and at 60 metres high is one of the tallest wooden buildings in the world.
Inside, on five floors the Jahrtausendturm has an exhibition chronicling the development of science across 6,000 years of human history.
With each new level you’ll jump forward in time, starting on the ground floor with Ancient Egyptian mathematics, and moving through Medieval medicine, Renaissance mechanics and alchemy and inventions like the telescope and printing press.
The fourth floor shows all the discoveries of the Early Modern Age, like electricity, stellar parallax, radio, while the fifth is about science in the 21st century.
At the top, after 243 steps or 450 metres on the exterior ramp there’s a scenic viewpoint.

Zoo Magdeburg, established in 1959, is a popular family attraction that boasts a Madagascar house, penguin enclosure and rare species. The zoo's enclosures are well-maintained and expanded when possible, with positive habitats for animals to thrive in. Visitors can witness the interactive and expressive behavior of the penguins while also admiring their latest exhibit expansion which reflects the zoo's commitment to conservation efforts.
A great Zoo in Neustadt Magdeburg. You can see Elephants, Giraffes and so many other wonderful animals. Lots to explore indoors and outdoors. Kids have a very big playground in the Zoo area. There is also a lovely park area next to the Zoo. Here you can easily spend a whole day. Highly recommended!

Very nice and clean zoo. The animals are treated well and there is free access for kids. We have been to zoos in Hamburg and Berlin, this is the best in the area.
Mark Hermansen — Google review
Animals have small cots and paddocks. It was sad to see some animals just run in circles as they simply don’t have space.
I believe that animals are taken care of well enough as all of them look healthy, active and all. Wish they had more space.
Overall, the zoo is good: accessible, has goats to pet, and very green. In the summer/spring it should be much better
Evgeny Ignatik (Jack) — Google review
Wonderful Zoo and a fantastic example of possitive enclosures that are both well maintained and expanded when possible.
for example the flamingo exhibit is currently being doubled.
The animals seem very comfortable and without stress (no odd behaviors). the penguins was my favorite exhibit as they are very interactive and expressive.
They are still a smaller zoo and will grow wonderfully in the next few years. The price of a ticket for the size of zoo is a little bit more expensive than I wanted, but their conservation and education processes made it worth it.

Really amazing zoo😍 It is cheaper than the zoo in Hannover but wayyyy bigger! My husband, baby and I spent a good 3.5 hours inside!
What I loved the most about the place was that each animal had a HUGE space to enjoy, which is rare in many zoos.
To compare to Hannover Zoo, this zoo has lesser animals to see, but, definitely worth a visit for any one visiting Magdeburg - especially for families 😃

I really enjoyed visiting this zoo! Beautiful view, lot of animals, bathrooms all over the place (that's an advantage) restaurant available! You can even get a closer view to some animals into their cages, that was awesome! I highly recommend it!

I strongly recommend visiting. Especially for families with children. Not crowded. Well maintained and children friendly. Lonely to see the animals and probably the closest we can get to see them . The outlay of the zoo is also simple. Highly recommended when visiting Magdeburg Or if living in Magdeburg. The people at the counter too are super friendly and helpful.

Had a great day, the zoo is large and we could have spent much more time there. However the food option was terrible. Bad food and horribly overpriced. Playgrounds are great as well as the range of enclosures. Take your own food and you will be fine.

Really big variety of animals, it seemed all the workers were really respectful and friendly towards the animals, the atmosphere was great, lots of space and overall really fun experience. Open spaces with animals (feeding and touching was mostly forbidden) were also really fun and the architecture of closed spaces was really smart and added to the experience.

Beautiful Zoo. Not that big, but with many various animals. Possibility to feed monkeys (together with the stuff) was amazing! Our whole family loved it. There are many attractions even playground for kids. Descriptions of animals are very interesting but those of us that do not speak German that good, would appreciate English texts being included/added as well. Parking is close to the ZOO, and costs 3 EUR per day. Kids up to 15 years do not pay entrance fee, adults fee is 13 EUR per person. Well worth visiting when in Magdeburg.

Awesome place with many nice habitats especially for the animals. The thing that drew me to this zoo were their Snow Leopards. <3
Small park with bison, lemurs & fallow deer, plus a petting zoo with farm animals & a playground.
Visited during the school break. Kids loved seeing and feeding the animals: cows, calves, goats. There were also emus, chickens, pigs. It was a joy to see the amazement on the faces of other visitors' toddlers.

The food was ok but not too affordable. The animals were mostly interesting. You see that they working on it to modernise it. The adventure playground is really nice.

A smaller wildlife park with a decent 5€ entrance fee. The drinks and food are quite expensive and every ride in the park costs 1€. A good selection of animals despite the smaller size of the park, and a massive playground for the kids to burn off extra energy from the 4€ ice cream.

The Holstentor Museum in Lubeck is a historic gate which stands proud as a relic of the city's mercantile days. It is a popular tourist destination and houses displays about Lubecks medieval past. The gate is well-maintained and has an impressive effect, making it one of the highlights of any visit to Lubeck.

Small but truly historical. This structure was completed in the 1400 and it's just amazing to be able to go inside and get a feel of how life was back then. It felt like being inside an old castle.
Somethings you only see in the movies. It was a great learning experience going here.

Imposing structure that you cannot miss walking into Lubeck's central square from the train station. Definitely built to denote strength and power and while it's sagging into its centre, looks like it'll still.be around 500 years from now. It's a paid museum now but just walking through the square and through its gate is an awesome experience.

Holstentor is the western gate of the fortified medieval city which was the capital of entire Hansaetic League of Baltic cities for centuries.
Dating back to 1464, it is considered one of the most beautiful medieval gates in all Germany, and for that reason was even on the back side of the old 50 DM banknote.
The gate is really stunning - fairy tale like and little bit leaned.
Inside is a small historic museum with models and history explanation and great gift shop. The outer face has gun openings for city protection, while the inner face is richly decorated. Perfect photo op both, day and night
Dejan Braki — Google review
I didn't go in to the building - not sure it was even open to be honest as both times I walked through there were no obvious signs. The building is one of the old city gates and the emblem of modern Lubeck. It is a very impressive, brick built fifteenth century fortification but now stands in isolation, the city walls having been removed in the nineteenth century.
There is an interesting contrast between the inside and outside walls of the building. The walls facing the city have lots of windows and are very ornate, the exterior walls have far fewer openings other than those for guns. There are also doubts over the accuracy of the early twentieth century restorations.

The primary attraction in Lubeck is this gate, serving as a prominent entry point to the old city. Positioned along the river and surrounded by historic brick buildings, strolling through these historical streets and dining by the riverside is truly enjoyable.

The Holsten Gate is a city gate marking off the western boundary of the old center Lübeck. It was built in 1464 and is the symbol of the city. The Brick Gothic construction is one of the relics of Lübeck's medieval city fortifications and one of two remaining city gates.

Another great historical site, the old gatehouse to Lübeck. A museum on site to visit here as well.
Lively Innenstadt is Lübeck’s medieval old town, known for its courtyards, alleys, and squares lined with ornate gabled buildings. Among its many landmarks are the 1400s Holstentor gate, home to a city history museum, Gothic churches like the towering Marienkirche, and the 1286 Heiligen-Geist-Hospital. The Museum Harbor has historic sailing ships, while small specialist shops and German restaurants dot the area.
Lubeck's most important church, Marienkirche, is a beautiful Gothic structure that was rebuilt after almost being destroyed by the RAF during WWII. The intricate details of the brick-vaulted roof are what fascinate people, rather than the sheer size and height of the building.
Amazing interior. So high are the towers that they can almost touch the sky.
Munteanu Catalin — Google review
Amazing monumental church with a lot of other interesting things to see inside. I think it worth the price of admission (4 euro). It's a must see if you visit Lübeck and you are interested in history and architecture.
Alex Spa — Google review
A monumental church with a few curiosities including a spectacular wall clock and a bell that’s fallen from the tower, crashed into the floor and left there for everyone to see. The height of the ceiling absolutely defies belief and gravity. Stunning setting during Christmas as the markets surround the church

Magnificently proportioned architecture with well-crafted brickwork.
KH Chong — Google review
Marienkirche is the third-largest church in Germany, and one of the five large Gothic brick churches in Lübeck. The interior is stunning and learning the history of it was so interesting. During an air raid, a lot of the church was destroyed but it's been beautifully restored. During my time at the church, they were restoring another facade as well. There is a reconstruction of the Danse Macabre, and also some beautiful reliefs of the Last Supper and some statues of Mary, Gabriel, etc. I'm a huge fan of Bach and I was delighted to read that Bach may have come to Marienkirche to play the now-destroyed Totentanzorgel (Danse Macabre organ). I believe they also have services in Marienkirche, although I went on a weekday so I'm not 100% positive. Based on signage, I would say so. I recommend stopping in to learn about the history of Lübeck and the church, or even to sit in on a service! I'm going to come back perhaps to see the other four churches.

Gothic evangelical church. Outside quite impressive but inside quite poor compared to Italian churches. Anyway a must see in in Lübek. Don't forget to give a look to the brass devil just outside the church and read his history.

St. Mary's Church which was built between 1250 and 1350 is the third largest church in Germany. It and has always been a symbol of the power and prosperity of the old Hanseatic city. Entrance is ticketed, 4 eur per person but it is without doubt worth to enter and see its magnitude from every corner inside.
Paweł — Google review
Out of 7 spires that dominate Lubeck skyline, two of them belong to St. Mary's Church.
The Church was built in a time frame of 100 years between 1260 and 1350, replacing the 1200's smaller Chapel.
Lubeck's St. Mary's is considered a cornerstone of German Gothic brick Churches.
It was built according to French Gothic Churches with outer supporting arches but with use of bricks instead of stone. Likewise, the interiors feature the world's tallest brick vaults.
St. Mary's suffered a total destruction in WWII, but was rebuilt shortly after the war.
Two huge bells which fell from the Tower during the bombing are kept in one of the Chapels inside.
TIP: You wont notice the St. Mary's sheer size from the ground as it's packed in downtown area. To appreciate it's size observe it from St. Peters tower which has the best city views.
The only reason I deduct one star is paying entrance fee of 4 Euros
Dejan Braki — Google review
Entry to this church is €4 and I recommend a visit, especially to see the exhibition about the Lübecker Totentanz (medieval dancebof death) and astronomical clock.

The organ is pretty, but the astronomical clock is truly amazing.
Stained glasses are worth checking out, and the ‘Totentanz’
István Nagy — Google review
This is a huge church but it's crammed into the streets nearby so it's difficult to get an idea of the scale. Inside the church is vast - apparently the largest brick built vault in the world. The interior is whitewashed and then decorated but in a very understated way. There are a few small chapels to the side, an interesting altarpiece (I think), a recreated astronomical clock and World War 1 memorial. Definitely worth a visit to see the wealth of the Hanseatic merchants.

It is a nice place to come for walking and being in nature and with animals. To some animals, it is permitted to come inside of their places so you can feed and touch them and in this way to communicate. It has also a nice kids park and activities for kids.

From the beginning;
Easy to find and nice parking.
Quite reasonable pricing
Easy to get around and with most of the animals you would expect - But missed Elephants, Zebra and Tiger - maybe also some snakes / reptiles.
The goats where the highlight for our daughter (2 year) -- since you get to go inside the fence and touch / feed the animals.
But talking about feeding - some ignorant visitors feed all animals with the animal food sold at the entrance - and they even feed the paper bags to the animals... Thank good it's not plastic bags !! - But not nice.
Small restaurant with OK menu of fast food - unfortunately there was nothing fast about the serving - 30 minutes for a basic meal is way too long !!
The absolute worst part of the entire park was the toilet facilities at the restaurant - Very small and very very dirty, to the point of too disgusting and hold your breath until the next toilet at the entrance.
