Rhodes is a large island located in the east Aegean Sea and the historical capital of the Dodecanese islands. It is well-known for its Colossus of Rhodes, as well as its beautiful old town. The island is home to many cultural and archaeological sites, as well as sandy beaches and pubs.

3. Archangelos Cave next to Grande Blue. Still hidden gem
4. Profitis ilias" Monastery
5. Kallithea Springs
We have been during low season so expericne may vary :) there is no uber and bolt in 2021. But car rental is a must. Cheap and easy. Nowhere in the world I have seen car rentals with such good rating.

The old town is something to behold... A great piece of preserved history.. Some very nice, well sourced restaurants amongst the standard tourist traps... But if you avoid the places with food pics outside your pretty good

Wow!! I had never heard about Rhodes prior to visiting this island but I will surely never forget the amazing day spent exploring one of Greece’s true gems. We landed at the port of Rhodes and from the first step on this stunning island you can instantly feel a sense of safety and serenity. The old town castle boasts some amazing shopping, and the beaches are among the best in the world. It’s very easy to get around by foot/Uber/Taxi, the people are extremely friendly, and the food is outstanding. Our family can’t wait to revisit this island and further explore all it has to offer ❤️.

One of the best summer vacation ever, the town is beautiful, great food, beautiful beaches despite the fact that Rodos Town doesn't have sandy beaches and the Old Town is a must see, at least one time in your life. Lindos is superb,Lindos beach and Tsambika beach are superb, this island is a must do.

If you like history this spot is awesome!...you're here in the middle of it. It's a steap climb but there are donkeys you could use to get up and down.
Many different concurors have left their marks...but luckely haven't whipeout all of the others...somethimes they found a different purpose!

A magical and varied island, full of deep historical architecture and rich welcoming culture. The food and wine was excellent, whether we ate simple local food or went high end. I had very little idea how liveable it would feel, as the old town has everything one could need to be comfortable. A slower simpler pace of living is possible here, and we were lucky to have stayed with a wonderful warm family that shared home cooked delights with us. We also found it easy to travel around and go to other islands. The weather is perfect for me as it’s hot yet breezy so I would recommend it to those who also enjoy that kind of feel.

One of the best Greek Islands you can visit in the Aegean Sea. Fun filled ! Steeped in history. Great sand beaches in the east of the island. Wind surfing and water sports in the north and west of the island. Loads and loads of hotels , restaurants and watering holes !! Enjoy late night fun at Faliraki !!

It's a great place to visit for lots of sunshine and great food. I'm gluten free and had no issues getting appropriate meals. I hired a car for four days and felt safe driving. I also took a couple of boat trips, one around the harbour and one to Symi. Rhodes is a great place for solo travellers, couples and families. It has something for everyone.

Very pleasant walks around the fortress and the old part of the city. He conjures up the history of this place and the entire island.

When I got down from my cruise, I got down into a trashy place, like the bad parts of the old town, but the next things make it a 5 star place.
There are very nice people.
I enjoyed the souvlaki and gyros there.
There are many places to see and the market and bazaar are nice.(advice: the market has souvenir shops with pornographic souvenirs, so make sure your kids don't see that).
Everything is pretty cheap in Rhodes and quality items are cheap.
I highly recommend you to visit Rhodes 😄😀😃😉

Turkish equivalent of Central Park. Must see place in the city. There could be some developments tho. Maybe building some fields for basketball, volleyball etc. Could be nice.
Can S. Arat — Google review
Loved the park. The entrance is free for the park. However, the different attractions (castle, pirate ship, zoo, etc.) have a separate fee. But it isn't a lot.
Kids loved exploring on foot and enjoyed the train ride as well. The play areas with slides and see-saws are nice. The whole park is extremely clean and well kept.
The castle was nice but did not have a word of English in it which made it difficult to understand what the cultural pieces/drawings were about. However, it did not take away from the beauty of it.
Overall, we had a great time and were there till it was about to close.

Japanese garden
An artificial lake and a pirate ship
Dream Château
Miniature railway
It’s really amazing place I recommend you to visit it.♥️

Wide, beautiful, green place with multiple coffee shops on the site, I was expecting more things to do and more places to visit other than the castle that was mostly restriced which was a bummer, and the pirate ship which was very nice and well made
Safa Jolha — Google review
It was a nice park to take pictures in and had several cafes for people to rest, I could not get in the castle but I don't think they have a lot of fun in there anyways, it did not allow picnicing of any kind which made the experience less fun because what's the point in sitting by the pond if I am not going to be eating some homemade sandwiches by it, right. Other than that, it was free and the weather was good, so I liked the place but can't say I loved it. You can go there just to see the castle and get some pictures.
Esra Nur — Google review
A nice place to take young kids to enjoy. It is more like a miniature version of Disneyland, but nothing like Disneyland. The surrounding and outside of the building is beautifully designed but nothing much to see inside the castle. The mannequins inside the castle are a disaster, i wonder how they even got approved to be kept there. The 5 star is for just the view and park outside
Muhammad Aamir Saeed — Google review
This park is open for public with free of charge. Only on certain place such as ship and castle access for adult requires charges with very low cost. The open park was beautiful and well maintained. Some area has provided with small shop to provide water and ice-cream. Or you can bring some foods and drinks from shops outside enternce. Good job Turkiye!!

It is very interesting that such a valuable natural wonder is in such an idle state. I think that both the advertisement should be done well and the facility should be diversified.
Correction before commenting: the place is not free to enter anymore. I think it belongs to government now and the entrance fee is 5 lira as march of 2022. Which is totally fine.
It is literally underground or cave version of Pamukkale. There is a very nice and small pool welcomes your with amazing colors. Then you go inside and see Pamukkale part. 2 things you might consider before entering. First thing is smell, it smells heavily like sulfur or something like that.(rotten egg even) after awhile, you are getting used to it but still. Second is, be ready to take your shoes off. Some places are filled with water so you might consider going there barefoot or take some slippers with you.
Sercan Jenkins — Google review
Cool place to visit if you are driving near by. It is like mini Pamukkale under the ground.
It is worth going in with swimming shoes or beach shoes as the cave ground is full of water.
There is a big parking lot and the parking is included to the price.
The site itself is small, it doesn’t take long to see the cave.
There is a pool outdoors where you can swim. It was filled with kids mainly. There are changing rooms and showers that are free of charge. There are no sun beds by the pool therefore not comfortable to stay longer by the pool.
In one of the water sources there are lots of many turtles 🐢
Virginia B. — Google review
You would never think something so amazing is there as you drive up, even as you park. It's only 30 minutes east of Pammukale and simply fabulous. Plus it's free!!
CJ Johnson — Google review
Amazing cave. The size is small, it takes maximum 5 mins to walk around + photos 10 min. In summer time they have a pool with thermal water, in winter the pool is empty. On the territory there are a toilet and a small shop where you can buy sweets and drinks.
Artem Patyka — Google review
It is good place to stop by if you are driving nearby but as it is very small and takes 5 minutes to complete, we would not drive more than 30 minutes to see it.
Free parking. Entrance is little less than 1 Euro per person but only pay cash in turkish lira.
There is a lovely honest and kind young boy running this place, he deserves a raise and he is more memorable than place itself.
Beautiful cave well maintained for pedestrians. The cave takes maximum 5 minutes to walk through but youll get your feet wet. As its very small cave its still warm/hot inside.
We rate very high because we are impressed by how well maintained this place is, entrance fee is reasonable with free parking and most importantly because of the lovely young man running this place.

Underground cotton candy castle 🤯🤯🤯🏰🔥👌
In my nuuuumerous hours of researching places to visit via the interwebs I stumbled across this sweet little cave which has very similar pools to the massive Turkish tourist attraction called Pamukkale (cotton castle) 🤩🤩🤩
This cave did not disappoint! Absolutely exquisite thermal pools formed by millenniums of flowing spring waters with high zinc, calcium, magnesium, and gypsum content which have over the years built up individual pools here underground inside of this spectacular cavern 🤘
When I first got here I honestly thought I would see a few people or at least a security guard.... Buuuuuut there was no one around for miles! Luckily there is no real gate or security door to get into the cave or onto this property. Surprising honestly but here we are 😂🤣😂
The cave itself is lit up with a bunch of high-intensity LEDs which makes viewing the cave formations all the better 😮 The wooden walkway to get around here is in really good condition and you can see several different mouths of the spring feeding this cave. One is inside of a deep blue pool and two of the others are coming in as waterfalls through the top of the cave... Really beautiful but make sure you have some waterproof shoes before you go down in here💦⛰️⛲🌂🤣🤣🤣
After exploring the cave for a while I noticed they have some swimming pools built just outside of the entrance of the cave. I imagine in the summertime when the zombie apocalypse corona virus lockdown is not in full force this is a fantastic place to come enjoy the afternoon with your family and splash around in these thermal waters! Kind of eerie walking around by yourself in an abandoned aqua park but even still very cool!
Really glad I got to check this place out and even more thrilled to see this cave up close and personal after finding out about it 4 months ago back in Istanbul on my incredibly exhaustive hunt for off the beaten path things to see and do here in this region of Turkey.
If you're in the area I give this place 2 biiiiiiiig thumbs up to visit 👍🤠👍
Nate Allen — Google review
Amazing place, looks like Pamukkale but it is completely different: Pamukkale is an overcrowded tourist trap and this place is a quite cave which cost only 15 TRY per person.
Jorge L. — Google review
This is a well preserved cave located in Denizli, Turkey. It is a short and easy hike to the cave entrance, and the cave itself is not very large, but it is still a beautiful sight to see. The natural water that flows through the cave is a beautiful turquoise color, and the cave walls are covered in stunning travertine formations.
The cave is open to visitors for a small fee, and the hike to the entrance is only about 10 minutes long. Once you reach the cave, you can walk through the main chamber and admire the natural beauty of the cave. There are also a few small side chambers that you can explore.
The cave is not very large, so you can easily see it all in about 30 minutes. However, the short visit is well worth it for the chance to see such a beautiful natural wonder.
Azeem Shiham — Google review
Not so crowded, but smells not good. Also recommend to wear slippers because there is water on the floor of the cave and on the steps. Views are beautiful. The entrance is only 15₺/person. but it seems that you can get there only by car((

So strange that this beautiful place is free. Free parking, beautifully manicured gardens (gardener currently mowing the lawns), free swimming pool, free clean toilets with hand soap, incredible cave with formations like Pamukkale. This is obviously a secret tgat has not yet been shared.

The Pamukkale Amphitheater is an awe-inspiring historical site filled with rich heritage, legacies and impressive speeches. It is recommended to tour the area using a golf cart and capturing numerous photographs. The ancient amphitheater itself is a sight to behold, one of great magnificence. Optimal timing for visiting would be slightly before sunset when the view becomes even more captivating.

Amazingly preserved theatre at Hierapolis UNESO heritage site. Though initially constructed around reign of Hadrian in 60 AD, theatre has been extended and transformed it existing shape during later years. However it collapsed due to earthquake in 7th century. Even in its historic arrangements, it was able to seat 15,000 spectators. It must have been used for multiple sports, cultural and imperial activities. It was heavily restored in 2004
To 2014 but still it has more than 90% actual settings. It’s a must visit place in Turkey

Very beautifull at sunset time. You can see a very very breathaking view. Unfortunetly there's no shadow on the way there and the climb, although not that steep, can be exhausting on a hot summer day. But it is well worth it, as the ruins are in a good condition and the view from that last steps is great. I would have loved to see an ancient play performed here.

great place to visit, a must if you're visiting turkey. It's better to go early, at 6:30 use the east entrance and go directly to pools. If you want to watch the sunset, check the time and synchronize...visit the whole area takes 4 hours

I couldn't help but admire their architectural prowess at that time. The buildings were bigger and more magnificent than I had imagined. After visiting Pamukkale, remember to take the time to explore this place thoroughly. It will be a completely different experience.

This is an incredible place of beauty. The ancient ruins were very quiet as most were exploring the travertines. The temple is well worth the climb up the steep hill in the heat!
If you are a solo female traveller please be very careful. I wandered off alone to the Agora area and realised a man was following me. He then proceeded to do a lewd act. Luckily I was able to run away. When I told a security guard she didn't seem to think it was a big deal. My advice is to enjoy the ruins nearby other people you can trust. Such a shame as I thought this would be a safe place.

Hierapolis It's an old Roman city over the rocky area near Pamukkale. There are so many things but most of them are only pieces of rock and very difficult to understand unless guided by a good tour guide. There is an open air theater which is most commonly visited by tourists & other spots are not highlighted. There is also cleopatra’s pool where so many tourists take bath and swim.
Atis Basak — Google review
Go early morning by say 8am to be the first there. Else parking becomes a problem and the pools get crowded. Get early to the pool and use the south gate which takes u to the top and near the good pools. Town entrance starts below and u have to walk up which is quite tiring on bare foot. Pay the buggy guys upfront but tell them to drop u at the pools first and come back for you later. You can call them on WhatsApp. Then take a liesurly one hour trip around the ruins and necropolis.
Varun Anirudhan — Google review
An open air archaeological site well-trekked by tourists given its stone’s throw away from Pamukkale travertines. An amazing theatre, the highlight. A small museum displaying excavated stone carvings, an antique pool for swimming.
The Cleopatra Antique Pools offer a unique and unforgettable opportunity to swim in naturally hot spring water. The pools are only open during the winter season, allowing visitors to enjoy unlimited swimming from 9 am to 5 pm. The pools have a beautiful appearance and comfortable seating areas for those who prefer not to swim. Visitors can also enjoy delicious coffee while taking in the scenic surroundings. Overall, the Cleopatra Antique Pools provides an extraordinary experience worth experiencing at least once in a lifetime.
One of its kind the Cleopatra’s Pool, also known as the Cleopatra Antique Pool, is a UNESCO World Heritage. The pool’s stone design is nestled within an exotic landscape. An earthquake knocked down many of the columns, which now rest within the pool giving it an ancient feel.

Prices for 2024 is a total ripoff. 850 Tl entry fee and another 200 Tl to swim in Cleopatra's pool. Water is being relayed to different sections, so only some the pools have water at a time. Sadly we had to give it a miss because of eyewatering prices.
Mathilda Oberholzer — Google review
100 L entrance to the pool and 10 L for locker hiring. I visited in November so the pool was not crowded but the pool is heated maybe up to 25-28 degrees. The pool was a bit dirty with all the algae floating and it was quite chlorinated. For an hour's swim it was okay.

This ancient pool was created by an earthquake in the 7th century. It is believed that Cleopatra swam in it, thus the name. Recommended to ask visitors to Hierapolis. The area surrounding the pool needs some improvements.

This is a miraculous place located inside the ruins of Hierapolis; modern day Pamukkale, Denizli. A naturally occurred swimming pool made from carbonate rich warm waters which shaped the travertine terraces of Pamukkale. Water here considered as therapeutic since the ancient times, and many come to not only enjoy but find remedy. This is truly an experience.
Facilities are clean and nice. Food is good. Staff is very helpful. Highly recommended.

200tl extra to enter the pools is fully worth. Not crowded when I visited on the weekend.
Free locker provided with a 20tl refundable deposit.

I liked our time here. We didn’t have swim suits, but it was so comfortable and nice sitting space. The water was beautiful and the coffee was good.

It is a small pool with different columns and big rock inside. The water was clear but some green grass float on it and it wasn't quite pleasant. It was an extra 8 euros the entrance.

This is a definite must while in Pumenkale. To think that you are swimming in the same waters where Cleopatra swam thousands of years ago is pure magic. Apparently the warm waters have healing properties.

Average hot spring. The saving Grace is that it’s in an ancient city and there’s ruins in the water giving it quite a interesting vibe. But I’m my opinion it’s too expensive and gets extremely crowded after 10 am. There’s also a lot of algae and moss floating in the waters. The water temperature was like warm with some areas warmer than others. I’ve been to better hot springs in my opinion but if you have never been to one and have 130 lira to spend, you might enjoy it.
One thing to note is that once you go in you can’t leave the pool and come back again.
There are lockers for your clothes and changing rooms. The lockers are a 20 lira deposit. There are also cold showers that you can use afterwards.

Wow! I can't even begin to describe how incredible this hot water pool is! It's absolutely amazing! The warmth of the water and the soothing sensation it provides are truly a delight. It's like a little slice of paradise right here. I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to experience such a wonderful creation. It's just pure bliss!

We came on Monday at lunch hour and styed in the park till closing.
You have to pay to enter the park - if I remember it correct its 250 per adult or kid over 6 y.o. Its a SINGLE ENTRY whichmeans you cannot leave and reenter the same day.
In the park there is ice cream srand, few restaurants and WC (in the Cleopatra pools area)
If you want to visit Cleapatra baths you have topay extra ticket - 130TL adult ot kids vefor 12 y.o. just a little bit cheaper. Also 1 time entry. You cannot come out of the pool and come back again. Bring your own towel as here its only option to buy towel.
Kids till 16 y.o. not allowed in the deeper area of pool where carbonated springs are coming from.
Camera man will offer you to take pictures and then after you done with pool you can choose if you want any of them printed to buy. Also there is an angel wings you can take photo with. Cost an extra.
Pool is not crowded even it is not big. Maybe because we went on monday in november. Temperature of water in the deeper end is warmer (maybe 38 C), in the rest of the pool around 36 C. Very comfortable when its cold outside.

The entrance was 150tl and, although not that expensive, in the end it adds up. It was quite crowded and because of that the water lost its quality and was a bit dirty and murky. But the area around was great for relaxation, as there are plenty of trees that offer shade in summer.

Best experience in turkey.
I've spent 3 hours in there with my girlfriend.
Take your own towels or buy one there.
Flipflops are also welcome to avoid cold floor
The water is unbelievably good. We came out so so relaxed...
The Travertines of Pamukkale are a must-see natural wonder in Turkey. These stunning thermal pools, formed after earthquakes, are surrounded by white limestone and offer a breathtaking view with rolling hills and ancient ruins in the background. Accessible through rough rocks, the lukewarm water is clean and clear, perfect for wading around. Visitors can take a dip in Cleopatra's pool and capture memorable moments with photographers available on-site.
One of the most spectacular places I've ever seen. It's presence is simply amazing and from all angles. Walking up has to be done on bare feet which is actually very pleasant. The hot springs with the milky turquoise water looks surreal, but my feet were so soft afterwards. Would highly recommend a day trip here and the hot air balloon experience was out of this world!

It's a great place. But you need to walk barefoot. Anyway, it's a great feeling walking on clay. There are two entries. U can use both. Up there is Cleopatra antique pool, museum, and antique city. You can eat also there but expensive. And down there some Chinese, Japanese, and Indian restaurants. If you come here at midday there is a queue but earlier in the morning no wait.

If you are not there, you will never feel the same. The place is so beautiful. Is natural beautiful that unbelievable. Although it is hot due to open air. But it is worth your walk on the thermal pools. It feels so fantastic. Like the scenery there a lot, pictures taken was very nice. A lot of people are sitting in the thermal, enjoying the moment. If you walk to the end. Is really far. We not managed to do it, because hot sun. Anyway, like it a lot.
Seeker Star — Google review
This place is breathtakingly beautiful. With the rolling hills in the background and fluffy clouds in the distance, ancient ruins surrounding the area, you are transported to another realm it seems.
The water is lukewarm and the pools are clean and clear. Water is just knee high so it’s a pleasure to just wade around and get your feet wet. Some areas were closed off for cleaning. Quite a few photographers available to take memorable pics.
Be sure to take a dip in Cleopatra’s pool. Water temperature is a little hotter. You can literally smell and taste the minerals in the water. The bottom of the pool is filled with loose pebbles and columns that collapsed in ancient times. Excellent setup for swimming with lockers and changing rooms easily accessible at a cost of 130 Turkish Lira.
Most importantly, don’t forget to take a walk through the poppy fields up to Hades gate.

Amazing but chaotic place to visit, it was crowded when we visited on a Sunday morning. We only walked in one pool, it was slippery in some places and a bit rough on the feet in others. I never felt comfortable with so many people around.
Walking around the path to look back at the travertines and over the valley was worthwhile.

We drove 3.5 hours to visit this place. Initially we were afraid that this place would not live up to our expectations, as the pictures looked so incredible. The site rents electric golf carts to make transport around this huge areal easier. There are also great swimming opportunities, in addition to all the sights. Highly recommended.

Amazing place. We have been in January, we entered from the village gate and the water down was cold. So you need to go up barefoot to find a warm source of water ) I think January is a nice time to visit as there are not so many tourists. Especially, after travertines it is so nice to swim in Cleopatra pool when the air is +12 and water inside the pool around 40-50 Celsius.

What a place. We arrived quite early so pretty much no one was there. The entrance fee is quite cheap. You do have to walk bear footed which does hurt a little but if you dip your feat in water it stops. The walk up is not too long and offers plenty of views of half filled pools. Once you get to the top you can see the main viewing point. Everything looks like snow and it looks quite cool in pictures.

Not what it was. You may have seen pictures from the past. It has since lost its natural water flow. However saying that I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Absolutely beautiful.
The south gate currently opens at 0630. Go early before the crowds. We'll worth getting up early.

Very extraordinary. Shame though that price for foreigners is 700 TL and free for locals. Not very crowded out of season (November's Monday), especially if you use lower entrance. Bring warm socks (and swimsuit for Cleopathra pool), as we were allowed to walk in them and then remove them before entering hot springs section.

Well worth a visit to this ancient site.might take you a bit of travel time. But the.mineral pools are extra. It's a large scale site so a fair bit of walking is required. The Mineral/salt pools are an amazing and scenic view of nature itself. But take extreme care, it's very slippery to walk on. And nice sunset caps it off.

It's an archaeological expedition. People who love history or want to explore what had happened in the past could visit its vastness and explore everything around.
My trip had started almost at 5am and had to hop around to pick people and then change a bus, so I guess I was tired by the time it was 3 in the afternoon.
All in all its a great experience and one should at least do it once. I wouldn't think of it the 2nd time.

This was an amazing experience. The water feel great however, I do wish there was more of it. I would recommend going in the springtime and not summer. Don’t forget to explore the ruins and bring your own stuff so you don’t have to pay for overpriced water and snacks. I also recommend you start your day early. There are multiple entrances and its very easy to get in from all sides.

An unusual attraction to visit. The calcite hot spring pools looked stunning. The pools are the result of sedimentary rock deposited by mineral water from the hot springs. You can still wade around the travertine terraces, whose waters are said to have healing properties although the water did not feel special nor really warm.

It was absolutely beautiful. Very special and unique. Being in winter, the fog and mist added an extra layer of beauty to the entire site. Although the water levels in the pools were not as high as some of the older photos we found on the internet, the experience was very complete and more than satisfactory. It was definitely worth the visit for us. We truly enjoyed the morning.

Such an incredible area of natural beauty. When I visited in march it was VERY busy. I expect it gets even busier during the summer months!
You have to remove your shoes to walk through the travertines. It can be very slippy and often painful underfoot so go slowly and carefully.
The internet warned me that real life isn't quite like the pictures but this wasn't true. The water really is that blue! And so warm!
Be sure to carry your shoes with you.

Visited in late January, so I imagine the place is a lot quieter than in the summer months. There is no queue to get in. Location is stunning and a must-see if visiting the region. The unique white cliffs and natural spa are unusual and very beautiful. You have to take your shoes off before walking in, and there are one or 2 slipper parts, so I wouldn't recommend running or walking too fast. Highly recommended.

Beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. We went in December and everything was closed. We found one hotel parking lot opened that you have to pay 40 TL to park. We drove the entire lake looking for a restaurant open but found none. I imagine in the summer, this place may be crowded. The lake has beautiful turquoise water around the edge. When entering Salda Lake into Google, it took us to a spot on the road with information, in the curve of a road; be careful. Very difficult to pull up to the lake.

Salda lake is such an experience. The sand is like clay, you can apply it on your body however the locals say it is prohibited. It’s more of a preserved beach and not so touristic. The water is so cold because it’s not in the city. It’s on the way to Pammukale. Loved it. They also have shower and changing rooms. It’s just perfect.

It's one of those stops that should be missed on you way to Pamukkale. It's still under development but worth visit. Best place to park your car is to go to Salda Gölü Orman Plajı and make it your map target, we couldn't find path to the lake though Salda Lake direction.

A great place hidden in Western Turkey, it is not so touristy. Most of the locals visit this place and they feel like this place as Turkey maldives. It's an amazing place to relax and picnic, half a day is enough. There is a camping space, the advantage is also that it is a little cleaner than other areas and I am not sure about the safety.
Such a beautiful place, such clear water!! Breath taking. great for photos and a very memorable place.

Some pine trees where between the road and the lake but it very easy to walk trough. Trace was only found close to the road, not near the lake.
Nice break im between driving and stopped here for 15-30 min.

Its clean place actually its bordered coz being defended not everyone can just go and swim its has very high salt and minerals in the water that not allowed to swim more than an hour as our guide told us
But it was quiet cold for me I still swim and enjoy after feeling hot weather. Its close in Denizli on the way. As I beleive ther is Salda village nearby then its called "Salda" lake as well. If you visit Pamukkale definitely can go this place too😊💚💯

A place of wonder! The Turkish Maldives- transformed into the so-called name Saldives :) A destination to be in your bucket list of “Must visit places in Turkiye”
In the midst of fall 2022, specifically in October, I had the chance to discover this wonderful lake.
The lake area covers 4,370 hectares, and its depth reaches 196 meters, making it one of the deeper lakes in Turkey, if not the deepest. The lake sedimentary records show high resolution climate changes that are related to solar variability during the last millennium.
The lake is a popular excursion spot for people across the region or from beyond, the more so due to the hydromagnesite mineral found in its coastal waters, which is believed to offer remedies for certain dermatological diseases. The shorelines, surrounded by black pine forests, are also popular among hunters, the game and the fowl available including quails, hares, foxes, boars and wild ducks, aside from the lake's fish. White sandy beaches, limpid water and seven crystal-white islets within the lake complete the scenery.
Its peculiar morphology has led to a number of academic studies conducted on Lake Salda. The unusual alkaline nature of the lake means that is one of the few locations where ancient stromatolite algae still grows.
You can drive past Doğanbaba and get downhill to reach the lake. There is an outdoor/indoor place to fill your stomach with some sandwich or a nice Turkish breakfast.
Puppies are all over the place. So cute and playful which give you a great energy of existence. They fight with each other as a play, and not hard to catch to pat and feed.

What a serene spot! White sand with different shades of blue. We were the only tourist at this time of October. But was not prepared with so much cold and windy weather. Some aquatic birds were also there like gulls, tufted duck, common pochard etc.
The Aphrodisias Ancient City Museum, established in 1979, showcases recovered artifacts from the historic Greek city of Aphrodisias. Located in a remote Anatolian region, this site encompasses vast expanses and beautiful natural surroundings such as Roman poplars, green fields and chirping birds. It was added to UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2017 for its grandeur and scale.
Superlative experience in a quite unpopular site. Came here too late in the afternoon so i had to find a place for the night: some men at the nearby village çay evi kindly drove me back to Karacasu where they gave me a free room at the municipality guest house. The following morning i hitchhiked to here and spent 4 hours exploring both the internal museum and the excavations. Really charming.
A man asked me if i would like some sexual stuff while i was walking around the ruins and this has been the only time someone asked me in an open air museum. Maybe the name of the site makes it regular.
Left and hitchhiked 2 cars to Denizli, met my Couchsurfing host.
You can find my timelapse along the whole area in the video section.

By far the best ancient ruins we have seen in Turkey. We’ve visited a lot on the west coast and there are a few reasons why this was our favorite:
1) no hoards of tourists. There were relatively few people here which was strange because there are so many beautiful things to see.
2) much of the ruins are intact
3) the marble features are the most well preserved and well known in the area dating back to the ancient times. The amphitheater, the arena and the baths are absolutely stunning and huge!
4) entrance fee was cheap compared to all the other ancient ruins
5) the museum has phenomenal works of marble art so well preserved
The only down side to this area is there isn’t a place to eat. There’s a place to buy water, ice cream and some sweets but that is all. Overall it was phenomenal and a must see.

An incredible site that features some of the most beautiful marble carving, a sprawling ancient metropolis to explore, and well-preserved antiquities spanning a broad cross-section of history and culture. The Anatolians, Carians, and Romans were all here, and left their mark! Kaunos, an ancient city established in the 9th century BC, was a significant Carian settlement by 400 BC, reflecting the cultural aspects of both Lycia and Caria. It comprises various structures including tombs carved into mountainsides. The well-preserved theatre on the left as you enter offers an impressive view of the surrounding countryside while remnants of acropolis exist on the hill above it.

Access to the site is terrible, the paths are not really at all maintained. Very few information on the site, but the whole ruin is pretty good, on top of a hill, and a whole fortress high up with a wall that circles another hill.

Excellent archaeological site. Lots to see and it's in great condition. You can get a rowboat from the Dock and its 40lira for 2 people. (You only need to pay to cross there, its free on the way back, but do leave the ladies a tip) the walk itself is not a hard walk, it is hilly, best to walk on a morning as its cooler, also the site itself is open air ofcourse so it gets super hot up there.
You can walk to the Fort at the top of the mountain but it's not for the faint of heart.
The Amphiteatre is amazing and the views from the top of this is unmatched.

Not much parking but enough. Wear trainers. Small shop inside if want to buy drinks/snacks. Enough shade if hot. Allow about 90 mins to explore. A few information boards in English too. Great photo opportunities. You get a real sense of antiquity.

The site itself is nice but there are few annoyances here. Firstly you can’t pay entrance by card and there is no ATM around unless you use the ferry again to get back to Dalian, so have some cash with you. You will pay some 2€ per person.
Luckily the nice gentleman behind the counter let us pay in EUR so we could enter.
You can however pay by card right next to the entrance where they serve refreshments. Prices are quite high for Turkish standards, but if you have the Turkish Museum card you will get 50% discount on coffee or tea.
The site is quite vast but many places are next to impossible to reach. Acropolis is on the top of the hill (as always) with quite steep climb. That’s of course expected, but probably because not many people decided to climb there you will most likely not find any clear path up. We attempted it anyway, but we failed to reach it.
At the time of our visit the site was crawling with all sorts of animals which was about the best highlight. We saw turtles, snakes, lizards and many sheep.
I am probably spoiled by Turkey already, but this was one of the less interesting sites for me with not so detailed information available on the boards, but higher prices. Paths were not too clearly marked.
Nice small place to visit if you are in vicinity for sure.

Great archaeological site loads to see and is much bigger than the impression you get when you arrive. you need 3 hrs to get a goid look round. it's excellent value as admission is about £1.65. There are toilets on site and you can buy drinks too.

Ruins about 20 minutes walk from Dalyan centre, on the other side of the river. We used the little rowing boat service to cross. Walk past the tombs and follow the signs for about 2km. Cheap entry ticket and very quiet in mid September. Lots of explanation boards in English. It can get very hot here and there is not much shelter so bring lots of water, the little cafe seems to have just a machine (we didn't go in).
Very interesting site with a mix of complete ruins such as the amphitheatre, ruined ruins and partially reconstructed parts to give a doctor of how it looked. We walked back and crossed the river using the car ferry and walked on the town side back to town.

So interesting, a step back in time. Donkeys on the side of the road and a family owned business on the way up the road to the top. Fresh honey and lots of essential oils.

So much to see. We should have arranged longer than the one hour we had arranged but will be back to do it justice. There were a couple of areas not accessable due to reconstruction but this had little impact on our appreciation of what was before us. We were fortunate enough to get there early, so crowds were minimal but I expect even at peak viewing crowds would be tollerable. A hidden gem that benefits from minimal publicity.

Personnel very helpful and welcoming. There is a mini market for some refreshments. Astonishing view from the theatre.
Pleasure boats anchor at a natural harbor in this secluded bay, with swimming in clear water.
Very crowded however weekdays. Very clean. Water and nature are beautiful.

Beautiful place to go there on a yach. Stay closer to the left side (from the sea view - more to the right). Anchor on 17m.

The complete chicken lunch/dinner is always the best ever. Make sure you ask for the boiled potatoes. It’s all so simple, but absolutely amazing. Still a fair price, where other bays have become over priced

A Beautiful Beach and the Bay hidden between the high mountains with a little bit scary, breath taking view, and a dirt side road. Water is calm, warm and quickly deep blue as Sarsala is very popular among the locals. There's a small restaurant with small Beach appetizers and Local Tradional Turkish baked wraps and drinks. Most of the time it is very crowded. However, it is worth to enjoy.

Lovely bay! Natural is amazing 😇😍 I was dreaming visit here for a long time. Sea is so pure .

A beautiful bay, sheltered from winds and waves. It's good on a yacht, but not very good on the beach. The beach is dirty. Turks love to smoke everywhere and throw cigarette butts right there. Personally, we are not pleased with tanning environments with cigarette butts and debris. The density of people on the beach is also high in autumn. In general, plus for beautiful views, minuses for the rest.

Start of coastal hike, clear waters for swimming and a big car park.
It's a very nice beach with a nice beachfront restaurant. It's also a nesting place for Loggerhead Turtles and each nest is marked off for safety of the eggs. The beach also closes after sunset and no lights or loud music is allowed. It has won many awards for responsible eco tourism. Recommended!

I loved the place and wanted to stay for at least couple of hours, but we left within 20 minutes because many people brought their dogs and let the dogs wander around, and the dogs were "attacking" people, wether the dogs were attacking or playing with people, we couldn't stay and enjoy the sea.
Its worth mentioning that the entrance to the beach has a sign stating that dogs are prohibited in the beach

İztuzu Beach is a beautiful, 4.5 km long sand beach near Dalyan in southwestern Turkey. It is one of the main breeding grounds for Caretta Caretta turtles and is therefore referred as the Turtle beach. These turtles are on the list of endangered animals. Although it was were nice boat trip and it is beautiful beach and place to see, I think it should be forbidden for tourists to come there and it is essential to preserve this place and preserve the turtles reproduction without stress of human interaction.
Suzana Marini? — Google review
I liked this beach a lot. The fee is not that much (2€ per car, no matter how many people are inside it), there are public toilets and showers (with cold, salty water) and the beach is clean. The water doesn't get deep enough for swimming for more than 50meters which makes it ideally for kids. You can also visit the Turtle Hospital (which is located close to the entrance). There is also shadow under some pine trees, but if you arrive after 10am most probably you will find it already occupied. At times it gets very windy. The restaurant inside has reasonable prices.

Beautiful, it is where the turtles go to lay their eggs. The surf is calm, the water is clear, the beach is clean. Lovely part of the world.

Beautiful beach and we were lucky we saw the turtles, the ride on the boat thro the river is stunning. You sail thro the reeds and see the burial caves. One not to miss.

Beautiful unspoilt beach that is home to nesting loggerhead turtles- a quick visit to the turtle sanctuary is worth a look, it's small but the work they do is great.

Nice place. When we went it was free but I think you would pay in season. Can't camp here. Beach is clean and had all facilities.
Visit the injured turtle hospital. This is free, they provide a really nice description of the work carried out and you can donate or buy some merchandise.

One of the best beaches in Turkey. 5 km white sand beach, have places on sun beds and authentic places with no people. Fall in love with this beach

A perfectly clean beach with the perfect view and settings all around.
You can reach this beach via small boats that are always available.
The beach coast is very long, it won't appear crowded as much as crowded as it gets.
The water is crystal clear and the sand and water are both clean there are even sea turtles!
You can rent 2 small beach beds at 80 T.L as well or you can simply grab ur towel and sit near the water on the sand.
A great way to spend your day where you will enjoy ur time during the boat trip and see some old sculptures kn the mountains which were apparently old graves and enjoy ur time at the beach as well ⛱.
Those are photos on our way. And only 1 *with added stickers to cover up some ppl* when we reached as we were short on time.

The beautiful sandy beach was worth driving 1,5h from Marmaris. Plenty of space and shallow, clear warm water. The sea can be a bit rough but it only gives more fun. The car fee is only 50 TL and then 50TL for sunbeds...bud because there are so many people coming and leaving there's a good chance you will get sunbeds for free. There's a cheap bar with showers and changing rooms.
Arek Cyman — Google review
Just an all round stunning place. Lovely sandy beach, amazing views, parking and the facilities including beach bar/ restaurant, changing rooms and toilets.
There is a turtle rescue on the plot which is free and worth a visit too. We drove from marmaris in about 90 mins and was well worth the drive.

My favorite beach in Turkey, a national park and a turtle nesting place, with a small museum/hospital near the entrance where they fix wounded turtles. Huge, pristine stretch of sand between the sea and the river estuary. You can take a public taxi boat from Dalyan for 30 tl per person both ways, about one hour spectacular ride through the reeds, the last boat back to Dalyan leaves at 5 pm.
Akbük is a beautiful beach with wonderful views and definitely gorgeous sea and mountain. You can swim in every shade of green and blue in a few strokes. Very kid friendly, Nice restaurants and cafes for food and drinks. Heated showers is a big winner.People camp there too which cost 15 usd-50 usd for tend and it will be cheaper if we have our own tend.since its a seasonal operating place during summer june-sep I think the things are little expensive so its better to buy the stuffs before going there . mini bus available from mugla bus station and akyaka which cost around 3 - 5 usd suggested to have a day trip to enjoy the serenity of beach .

I had a good experience in akbük but i heard that it used to be more relaxing and beautiful over there but now its too crowded and not that good if you just want to chill out.
There's a beautiful forest there too but the fire department won't let you camp there unfortunately. And if you want to camp you either should find a place before actually getting to akbük or you have to camp in the campsites which are too crowded and in my opinion awful ! And overpriced

The water is amazing and worth a visit. There are a few small open air places that will serve you food and drinks. Paid 10try to park but worth every penny to swim in these waters. Very unfair and unprofessional business of a pool owner in the Marina - no any discount for late coming guests. You have to pay 6 euros even if you came 10 minutes before closing. Such a greedy approach is a disgrace to Turkish hospitality.
Peter Soldatkin — Google review
The most dishonest marina I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I paid $7000CAD for a 3 month contract to sell my boat with an agreement that they would refund balance when the boat sold minus 25%. I sold the boat after one month (off peak season) and had 2 months which should have been refunded (peak season prices) they changed the numbers as they saw fit and refunded me only $700CAD for the 2 months at peak season prices. DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING THEY SAY AND SETUR WILL NOT BACK YOU UP EVEN IF YOU HAVE AN ANNUAL CONTRACT. I would recommend only to my worst enemies.

not a bad place to walk in the evening
Veniamin Yulin — Google review
It used to be very nice and friendly, in the last two years prices have become unreasonable.
Let me explain: first of all is very noisy at night (both from night clubs but also fron other boats partying) but the worst thing is the high speed powerboats entering or leaving the marina. So once in while unexpected waves come out of the blue.
Additionally the behavior of certain staff + the refusal to speak English has become funny!
There is a rule in marketing called "willingness to pay", i don't mind the higher BUT downgrading the quality of your services is serious.

Very nice well designed place with whatever a sailor can need such as warm water, every time clean big spaced toilets with hair dryer. Good shopping area with many cafes restaurants and sailing shops, a very close super market just next to marine, close to heart of Marmaris just a few minutes walk you are in castle historic area and bar streets.

Similar to its counterpart in Fethiye. The mooring fees are ok. If you dont leave by 8 AM you will get charged more. Departure at 11 AM will cost you more. Great marina right in the city, with good proposals in prices specifically for the small boats.
All paths and pantones are accessible and comfortable to move around.
The only one minus is a veeery narrow path for the boats to moore.. just toooo tight.
And, as you may guess its quite noisy at nights from the resraurants along the harbour.. but thats the price of being in the city.

The marina is impeccably clean and well run, the town has everything you cod need to refit your boat with. Beautiful, luxurious marina. The view from the marina is absolutely breathtaking too! Gorgeous place to walk, has a lot of name brands including Paul and Shark and Jeans Lab. Also the lavatories are extremely clean! Has plenty of cafes to sit: I fully recommend Kahve Dunyasi for coffee & icecream, and Pineapple for meals with beautiful sea/boat/mountain views. In the heart of Marmaris, Turkey, lies Youth Square, a vibrant plaza that replaced a dilapidated building. At the center of this square is the Dancing Fountain, featuring two basins that come to life with an automated light and music show at 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm during peak season. What appears as a serene fountain during the day transforms into a lively hub for music and entertainment at night.

Marmaris Public Beach, located in the heart of Marmaris, offers a beautiful setting with views of lush green hills and the sea. The beach provides essential amenities such as toilets, showers, and changing cabins. While the sand is mostly dry clay and not fine white sand, visitors can still enjoy the serene atmosphere and watch giant cruise ships passing by. The beach also boasts excellent facilities including showers, changing areas, and toilets.
Came here mid November we were fortunate enough to have lovely weather for a couple days, the beach is clean and if you sit near one the the restaurants or bars they allow you to use the Sun Loungers and give you free WiFi providing you purchase a drink from them.

The sand is brown ,it's kind of dry clay in most of the parts, don't expect white fine sand. The sea is brown as well, if you go to the deep part it can be a little bit more clear. If you want to go snorkeling ,that's isn't the beach ,go to Turunç, Turunç is amazing.

A sandy beach stretches on the part of the coast of Marmaris and belongs to the municipality, it is crowded most of the time in the morning and evening, there are public sanitary facilities and places for changing clothes, as well as places for bathing and washing the body after going to the sea. There is a nearby park that has children's games.

I've got to be honest here, you can't really give this a title of a beach, it's far from that. It's like grit or builders sand, it's awful. The only reason I didn't give it less is because the sea is amazing, it's warm and very pleasant to swim and bathe in.

İçmeler Beach is a beautiful public beach with stunning views of rocky hills covered in pine forests. While the water is clean, there have been some reports of litter on the beach. However, amenities such as changing cabins and showers are available. It's a quieter alternative to Marmaris Beach, offering a better view and fewer boats. Visitors can rent sun loungers and umbrellas for a fee and enjoy various water sports in the crystal-clear sea.
This beach is ery close to Marmaris and for those tired of their hotel beach I would recommend this place. It is a bit more quiet with less boats etc and it has a little bit better view than Marmaris beach.
You can also find a lot of restaurants on the beach, mostly stand alone ones that are not a part of any hotel, check the reviews before choosing a place

Very nice public beach in Içmeler. The surroundings are just to die for, rocky steep hills covered in pine forests. Water was clean but not turquoise and the beach does not receive 5 stars because there was trash here and there, cigarette butts, bottle caps and so on even though there were plenty of trash bins all over the place. Of course people can be jerks and throw their stuff on the beach but this does not mean there shouldn't be a cleaning service. There are changing cabins and showers. I think this beach is far better than the public beach in Marmaris.

Part of the combined ticket for 10€. This was definitely the best attraction of them all.
Such an amazing building with beautiful gardens and lots of artifacts to see and read about. All the information is displayed clearly and in several languages. Can't believe how old some of the artefacts were - some of the oldest were from 700BC.

Well worth it as especially since you get 4 different places for 10€! The garden area was lovely, all those arches too in the main courtyard. There are a lot of steps with no hand rails, so if that's a problem for you- I would give it a miss. I could have spent a lot of time here, just sitting taking it all in. If you are interested in historical pottery, then this is the place for you too! It had a really nice feel to it this place, I could go again and again just to take it all in. Although one can only look at so much pottery..

Only €6 to enter or you can get a premium ticket for €10 that gets you into 3 other places including the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights. There was a lot of burial urns, statues and grave markers, a garden with fish in a pond, I saw some lizards, and there is a cafe inside. Some of the items in the museum came from the Acropolis in Lindos so that was cool to see after visiting the acropolis.

Part 1: as they say on their homepage, the prehistory part is not available during winter. Unfortunately that also includes the Bronze Age, which technically is not pre-history.
Part 2 (general review): Nice collection and entrance fee is negligible. All the pieces are listed in English and Greek and structured in different time periods. The building itself is great and houses a nice garden where the mosaics are displayed.

Great museum which wraps around the whole central courtyard which then heads out to the open roof area and then leads on the the gardened area which is easy to miss as it's up the steps when you go outside to see the statues outside on the roof. Well worth the 6euro entrance fee and it is even cheaper with a combi ticket for the palace

We bought a combination ticket that included this and Palace and two small museums for €10 Euros. This ticket and the museums are worth the €10 Euros. This museum was a pleasure to go to and explore!
The building itself is quite large and has plenty of rooms to explore and read a lot of history about Rhodes and past events!
This museum also has a good ratio of interior and exterior sites to view.
Would definitely recommend a visit to the museum
Only downside was the many rooms used only to display pottery, which could have been used for other items for more variation instead!
Side note: Make sure to visit on the weekend, as the museum closes early at 3pm on weekdays, and 8pm on weekends!

Worth the visit if you want to see / learn more of Rhodos history and you want to take a break from the beach. Had a few interesting pieces, but the building itself is also worth to see.

Nice gardens there and quite a few ancient artefacts to view.
It has lots of small rooms full of artefacts but they were too hot to stand in during our visit.
It's a shame that lots of the things to see don't have any explanation as to what they are or where they are from.
For around 6 euro it's an OK place to pass an hour.

This museum is in the heart of the Rhodes' Medieval City. We were passing by during the weekend and despite the €6 entrance price, we could enter free (together with many others). It was really nice to visit and learn a lot more in the history and culture.
From Wikipedia: The museum is housed in the monumental edifice that was the hospital of the Knights of Saint John. Construction was begun in 1440 and brought to completion in the time of the Grand Master d'Aubusson (1476-1503). The Museum contains various collections of archaeological artifacts from various parts of Rhodes and the neighbouring islands, including the Statue of the Crouching Aphrodite (1st century BC)

You will find some of the exhibits in the open air, and some on the second floor, located in many small rooms. Also there is the crypt with the tomb stones of the dead knights. If you enjoy looking at small antiques and reading their labels, you'll love it. My teenage child was not very interested. We were in July and used combo tickets. 10€ with other places, child was free

Not a great collection, and sadly a real lack of any real context to what the pieces mean, and what they teach us about historic Rhodes. A 3-4 scattered panels give you a real quick deep dive into Rhodes’ history, but most of the written text is describing the appearance of the object which you can already see, in clumsy English.
I’m a museum fan and I was very bored, you should skip the entire top floor if you’ve ever seen a Greek pot or vase before and take the stairs up next to the toilets to see the open air mosaics and amazing garden.
Some crusader gravestones and Greek statues are in the large upper room next to this garden, fairly interesting, with a restored home in the garden, which again has sparse information or access. A clear lack of investment is sadly obvious here.

Good place to take a walk in. 10€ ticket for this museum and the palace. Can be visited on the next day after going to the palace. A lot of old statues, stones etc.
Worth going!

Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes
Rhodes Castle is a Gothic-style castle from the 14th century that was turned into a residence for Italian Mussolini in the 20th century. The site of the original Byzantine fortress, it features museums of ancient and medieval Rhodes.
Incredible palace, with a lot of history. There are many statues and as we were exiting the palace we almost didn't see the stairs going up into the living quarters. It delves into what regular life was at the palace and also gives an overview of the history of the palace and Rhodes itself, with also a model reconstruction of a ship. Also very good value for money as you pay 10 euro for a special ticket combining the art museum, archeological museum, palace of the grand master and the church.

10€ for a combined ticket including 4 different attractions. This one was not the best of them. The outside was beautiful and there was a lovely looking sculpture garden but you couldn't go in it. The inside was quite simple and the main feature in every room was the mosaic tiles which were all described down to the last morsel. However, there was very little else to see and the information linked to this was often written at the end rather than the beginning. The room with the knights clothing was by far the best one.
You will need to walk up steep steps, so it is not suitable for disabled people.
Coralie Pattenden — Google review
The views from outside were more enjoyable than the actual experience. I enjoyed the plaques that explained more about the history. If you're a historian and enjoy these type of things, it may be worth paying the 8 euros to enter. I'm a seasoned traveler and would have preferred to spend those 8 euros on something else. The outside of this place is definitely the highlight (and free). If you are on a budget, you can definitely skip this exhibit. If you've got the time to kill and don't know what else to do, this is a decent option. They have bathrooms at the entrance which were decently maintained
Nick Kiessig — Google review
Some interesting art in the main museum but most of the original statues were damaged by earthquakes. The outdoor garden is peaceful and has a few impressive frescoes. There is a small museum in the back with a few excellent pieces, some going back almost 8,000 years. Most of the castle is a reconstruction in the last century. The staff is very knowledgeable and can offer some historical insight.

Nice place! We went only to the Palace and had a look around. For that the entrance price might be a little too much, but you v
Cam easily get a combo ticket with other museums to make it worth your while. I really liked their collection of mosaics.

The Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes is a testament to the power and prestige of the Knights of Rhodes. It also sounds pretty cool. Stepping foot inside this magnificent fortress, you can't help but be overwhelmed by its architectural splendor and rich historical significance. A must-see for any history enthusiast (my son--- the history and archaelogy major) seeking to immerse themselves in the captivating world of medieval knights.
The entrance was 10 Euros. It felt steep but you will spend at least 1.5 hours exploring the huge case and its grounds.

It is worth visiting the grand master's palace, it is a piece of Greek history. It really preserved the medieval architecture and we admired the preserved medieval walls and construction the whole time. I definitely recommend a visit. I recommend buying tickets in advance through the official site of Greek monuments. It's called the Hellenic Heritage. For Europeans under the age of 25, a free ticket to this monument is available through this website. For people over 25, you can also find a cheaper ticket than on commercial sites that sell tickets
Lukáš Gába — Google review
Very interesting and well preserved monument. There was a “history of Rhodes” exhibition on when I visited which had a lot of items on display. After finding the way up into the palace (doorway to the right of the ticket office) I was very impressed with the way the palace had been preserved and the video storyboards were very interesting.
I went on a Saturday morning expecting to join a queue for tickets but when I arrived there was no queue at all, initially went on a Friday and the queue was enormous.
Les Cooper — Google review
It was OK for 8 eur, though there are plenty of beauties for free or much cheaper. Mosaic floors are not renovated, rooms are hardly decorated or equipped.
The most impressive it is from outside.
Slight disappointment for us, Rhodes provides much more great sights, even for free...
EU vaccination certificate was throughly checked.

I’m not sure what is not to like about the palace which the combined ticket only costs €10 and you can visit the archaeological museum & other attractions with the same ticket…
Lots of mosaics exhibited in the palace and lots of rooms, hallways.. I found it very enjoyable to walk around, although there’s not much texts about the history itself, only about the mosaics.
Definitely worth a visit just to have a stroll. It’s a nice palace building on its own.

Great experience. Just direction signs or a small map on the ticket is missing. Than my mark shall reach maximum of 5 stars. Otherwise very well maintained, with interesting exhibitions. Recommend visiting.

We bought a combo ticket 10€, the child is free, the price includes visiting 4 places. In the Palace of the Grand Master on the ground floor there is an exhibition of antiquity, many exhibits, it is interesting to look at and read the names, as well as find out what period of time they belong to.
On the second floor, the atmosphere of a real knight's castle. Unfortunately, there is little information in the museum itself about the life of this period, so it would be good to search and get acquainted with information on the Internet in advance.
We spent almost 2 hours, but for my teenage child, unfortunately, it was not so interesting as it was for me.

Beautiful, well preserved building. My husband and I visited on a Sunday, payment in was 8 euros each. Nice and cool inside, great relief from the heat of Rhodes. Definitely worth the visit, could easily spend 1.5. Hours here. Didn't appear to be guided tours/ maps/ information leaflets when we visited. Would suggest you bring your own booklet/ read information about the palace before you visit, so that you know about it.
Marian Tobin — Google review
This ancient medieval castle with a residence built in gothic style (very uncommon in Eastern lands of Byzantine influence), was carefully rebuilt by the Italians in 1940, who were then in control of the island. It is a real fortress, not a fake or ceremonial one, full of history, having been the headquarters of Knights Hospitaller. There's an interesting collection of ancient uniforms inside.
Jorge Bernardo — Google review
For 8€ you can take a quick walk through this ancient palace.
The atrium is neat and beautiful. It shows some statues. The main course takes you on the first floor, after a short visit to a small chapel. Following through various rooms, you can see differently styled rooms of which many show famous mosaic layings on the ground.
It is a nice little walk through the building. The whole course takes around 30 minutes, depending on time you want to spend there. It is worth a visit.

Magnificent castle with lots of old relics, tools, jewelry and pottery. You get amazed how old some of them are. The castle is floored with marble and lot of mosaic in beautiful detail. I don't recommend this place for children, but adults.

What a fantastic day out and we probably didn't get to see half of it as it's so massive inside the walls . There are plenty of places to sit and watch the world go bye while having something to eat and drink. Loads of small boutique restaurants and shops to mill in and out while you marvel at the scale of this place and how well maintained it was . I would definitely recommend going to this place.

What an incredible experience! This is one of the finest museums in Greece, and a must see in Rhodes. Everything about it was superb, a visit to remember for a lifetime. I visited off season, so there were no queues, but since it can get very busy during tourist season, ensure you plan tickets and your visit in advance. Definitely a place that I will come back to, with a proper medieval feel. It has to be experienced, you will not regret it!

Great place and full of history. Visited on a weekday in late September. Not too many people, although there were a lot of groups from the cruise ships when we went. We had bought tickets on line but there is limited signage to say that you can skip the queue.
We both really enjoyed our visit. Lots of mosaics (brought over from Cos by the Italians) statues, art etc. Keep an eye out for the windows which are made of thin sheets of alabaster - amazing to see.
I think it was 8 euro at the time.

Interesting bit of history in the Medieval town. We were lucky on the day to get a free pass to wander around the grand masters palace. An interesting insight into the story of the Knights of Rhodes.
Chris Barrow — Google review
Very much worth the visit and ticket price (8 euro) if you are the least historical or architecture interested. The castle is quite large with lots of interesting places and rooms to visit, with impressing interior and old mosaics, paintings and so on. Very well preserved. I spent around 2 hours during the visit.
Only downside is the missing signs with descriptions about the different rooms, it could be nice to read a little about the purpose of the different rooms and structures.
Thomas Rasmussen — Google review
Very interesting and lots of history and historical information. Well worth a visit. There is a charge to get around €8 but worth it. There is a small cafe and public toilet.
Michael Jobbo Lucking — Google review
Impressive palace from the outside. As soon as you enter it is necessary to buy a ticket. Either 8€ to visit the palace once or 10€ for a combined ticket (valid for 3 days) - for the Palace of the Grand Master of Knights, the Archaeological Museum, the church of Our Lady of the Castle and the Decorative Arts Collection. The ticket can be booked online in advance, then you can save the queue for the ticket purchase (left queue) and wait only for the entrance itself (right queue).
After the queue in the courtyard you are disillusioned and wonder what you paid 8€ for. But the "small" ticket also includes the way through the castle itself. For this you have to take a door next to the entrance with a large staircase up. Here there are then some nice things to see during a walk through the castle. All in all, it is worth a visit.
The toilet in the courtyard can unfortunately not be locked 🫣.

I will love that will be signs for the rooms and more so you know what you see. And i come to the end of march so a lot of rooms was close. It was decent for a small scroll. Is worth it for sure if you are under 25 so you can get ticket for free. Generally it was interesting to learn the story behind it and see the mosaic from Kos.

Neat architecture and upstairs rooms with pretty floor mosaics. Sadly during March 2024 low season, the Knight Crusaders exhibits were closed. But Combo ticket €10, covers 4 sites all near Knight St and no crowds/queues during low season.
The Medieval Villa is a 5-star hotel in the city of Rhodes, which was founded in the 4th century BC by the Mytileneans. It is one of Europe's oldest continuously inhabited medieval cities and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The hotel features spacious rooms with traditional architecture and an outdoor pool overlooking the city.
This was the absolute best place I've ever stayed at. We were a party of 8 and spent three nights in Rhodes. The island is really amazing, but it was the villa that made our time there truly special. We were not missing anything! Every small thing a guest could need was available in the villa. Superb location and such a special atmosphere in the dining room. Love. This. Place.

Small beach with a restaurant accessible by boat or 20min walk from Pedi. Very nice and quiet when we were there in October. Sunbed 4€ per person, shower not included (50c).

Just perfect. If you are okay to hike from pedi to this beach for 15 mins under sun, it is definetly worth it. It is a quiet beach with realy good water with pebbles.

Absolutely stunning. We did the walk from Pedi, really didn't take too long but someone with mobility issues might be better with a boat on the steep steps.
The walk is worth it just for the views of the beach. Very quiet and peaceful. But the bar was just what we needed. Didn't eat at the Taverna so can't recommend or not for that.
But definitely worth a visit and recommend walking.
Shanta James-Doshi — Google review
This is a clean rock beach that can be accessed by water taxi or by walking 20 min over the mountain from Pedi beach. Has some rocky ledges to climb up on right side that can be used to jump/dive into deep water. There's a snack bar & taverna offering refreshments and food. We had souvlaki platters from taverna which were good but a bit pricey.
Bring water shoes if you have sensitive feet.

Stunning boat ride to this lovely area. Pebble Beach, sunbeds 5 euro each. Greeted by the goats, who investigate your belongings looking for food and water. Very nice taverna for lunch. Beautiful.
Julie Mills — Google review
Very cool remote beach, 20 mins walk from Pedi center on a rocky, steep path, or you can take the taxi boat. Surpsisingly, when you reach the bay, you find a luxury beach, with small church, taverna, cafe, sunbeds, shower and toilets. The beach is not sandy, but pebbles are small and not sharp, plus the bottom of the sea is flat stone. It's a lovely family run beach, food and drinks were wonderful and plenty, hospitality was exceptional. Better take some cash with you, 4G is not always available. We had a wonderful day!

Very nice little pebble beach with some beach chairs and a restaurant but also plenty space to just put down your towel. It was not crowded at all (mid September 23) and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. You can reach it by taxi boat from Gislos or Pedi. We actually walked there from Pedi as it only takes 20 minutes and a very nice scenic walk!

Quiet location, nice place, sunbeds and umbrellas are available. The taverna is nice, but only cash payment is possible. The beach bar also only had one cocktail out of 7. That was a bit of a shame.
There is often the sometimes slightly crowded taxiboat. But it is also worth the walk with a beautiful view of the bay and the sea. At night, this is even illuminated.

I do not recomend. We got there by boat for 1 h because was too windy for st George. We booked 2 sunbeds 5 euro each. We got in a fight with the crew because we were not allowed to use the toilets unless buying drinks from the bar. The toilets are on the beach for the beach users.( even we payd for sunbeds 10 euros for 1 h and were not informed for this rules ) the beach is full of rocks. Not worth it

I'll never travel to Lindos without this trip planner again
Stunning place named after the Mexican American actor who wanted to buy it. (Interesting story). The water here is crystal clear due to the fact that the beach itself and the bed of the bay itself is all stones which are polished smooth. Therefore it's a great spot for snorkeling and scuba diving. The landside of the bay in down a 20ft embankment which is covered by Cyprus trees which give great shade when needed.
At the top of the embankment is a small cafe which I didn't try and public toilets.
Honestly one 9f the nicest places if not the nicest on the island.
Rhodes is windy a lot of the time, but because it is so sheltered this is never an issue here.
About 5-6k walk from centre of faliraki.

Best beach we visited in Rhodos. It was there little crowdy ,but we find a spot for our towels. In the sea are big rocks,so better wear sea shoes (there are sea urchin). Also it is great place to snorkeling. Water is crystal clear . There will be probably some tourist boats, but they leave after a while.

This place is a must see water is so clear and beautiful take a snorkel as you will see small fish in the water. It is all stones though so take foot wear is it can be a bit sore on your feet. Sweeping monastery dedicated to Archangel Michael, rebuilt in 1783 & featuring elaborate frescoes.
Beautiful monastery in a stunning bay in the south of Symi. Famous for the icon of archangel Michael. It really is a place of pilgrimage and the traditional offering is a rush or Reed broom.
The bell tower is stunning as is the inner courtyard where the Chapel is housed

Beautiful monastery about 30 min bus trip from the port. Cost 10 euro return by bus, the roads are windy so if you get travel sickness make sure you take something before you start the journey! It was a 30 minutes stop en route from Rhodes to Symi . It is ok , not great , no entry fee , nothing to do . We didn't have a guide so we did not know what we are looking at. We had to search online . It is a small place that you can visit in under 1 hour , they have a museum (only religious orthodox exhibits ) that you can visit for 3 euros . They also have a souvenir shop of mostly religious items . Next to the monastery there are are a few restaurants and shops .

There is not lots to see here and while Symi is a lovely island I don't think it is any different from the rest of the Greek isles.
We bought a TUI trip from Lardos to Simy as a guided tour for just over 120 euro for two of us, which included all travel and admission to the monastery, but there really isn't very much to see. I feel quite underwhelmed and at every stage it was a case of trying to get every penny out of you.
The talk in the sponge shop and the explicit sales chat, taking us to a special restaurant so we wouldn't get ripped off, but we found a better local place with a more authentic feel, great food, service and not inflated prices.
Anyhow, overall the trip was okay, but wouldn't do it again. We have spent a fair amount of time travelling and not so much seeing anywhere. Felt a bit trapped in TUI land.

After a 90 minute boat ride (with incredible views of the Turkish coast) and we arrived at the Holy Monastery. While it is extremely small (and the lines are super long if you don’t get there early). Said to have been originally built in 450 BC, the church was extensively rebuilt in the 17th century.
The intricate wood work and icon inside the monastery are majestic, bringing many people to tears.
We loved the quick stop here and even managed to purchase a fresh loaf of bread from the local bakery.
It does get really crowded and there’s not much else to see // do. Make it a stop on your way to Symi, but don’t count on spending more than an hour or two.
Nick Stagge — Google review
If you are in Symi 8-9 of November and want to go to the feast day celebrations at this monastery (and you should go) it’s easy. Mini buses run from near Pantellis restaurant in Symi town on the hour (ish) from 7.30 am (10e return / bought an hour before). We had no idea about timings of events at the monastery and could not find anything online in English but we ended up arriving at 11am just in time to see the icon of St Michael processed to the war memorial and to hear the “cannon” explosions. I’d recommend getting there a little earlier. We picked up a return bus easily at about 2.30 having visited the icon, bought delicious pastries and watched the huge Dodecanese ferry do a full circle in the harbour whilst blowing its horn and being serenaded by the monastery bells. Great experience and the bus ride to the monastery through the mountains is beautiful.

A wonderful experience visiting this Monastery. The funniest part was that it didn’t seem like a monastery at all, more like a hotel.
The building is painted white and looks amazing as you arrive via boat. As we docked on our boat, the bells of the Monastery started to chime, welcoming us to the place. We had only 30 minutes here, but we saw enough to make us want to come back again for a longer stay.

It was my first visit to Rhodes, the beach is very close to all the holiday houses surrounding it. I prefer pure sand beaches but this one was nice, didn't have to many pebbles unlike the far left side of the beach which is covered in pebbles.
Once summer season started they started to charge 10 euros for two beach chairs and an umbrella which was pretty cheap.
Water sports are close by on the same beach with different types of sports you can pick from, with friendly staff to make it more fun.
I enjoyed being here at Kolymbia Beach, would recommend 😊
Tsambika Beach is a popular seaside destination situated between rocky headlands. It's important to note that a section of this beach allows for clothing-optional sunbathing, restricted to a small area on the right side. The remaining stretch of the beach is open to all and has gained recognition as one of Rhodes' finest. This stunning coastline offers a vibrant atmosphere while avoiding excessive crowding, boasting several nearby eateries and bars.
The best beach at Rhodos. With beautiful white sand crystal blue water.
You have plenty of sunbeds available. (12€ per pair) There are beach bars were you will get some nice drinks, cold coffee and some snacks. We had the luck that the lady from the bar stop by our sunbed and we can directly order there. Really good prices.
There is plenty of parking space for free.
The only small disadvantage we only had Edge there but normally you there to relax not to watch always on your smartphone.
Also for the kids they offer a playground on the water. It cost 12€ for 1 Hours and 15€ for 1/2 day.

Long beach, great entertainment for kids and for adults in playground area on the water. One umbrella and two sun beds are 20€ per day. There is a shower and change room. There is a restaurant on the beach, the prices are little bit higher than usual but nothing crazy. The parking is available and free of charge.

Beautiful beach!
We visited in May.
Sandy beach, and the water is shallow.
I think there is only one bus in the morning and only one bus in the afternoon to go to-from the city centre.
We got 2 sunbeds for 20 euros the whole day.

It's nice beach, but there is unfinished buildings in beach and it's full of rusty nails, so beware!

The best beach in Rhodes. Beautiful blue water, golden sand and lovely beach staff. There is also plenty of space for parking.

Nice beach. The sunbeds with umbrellas start at €20 and I think get cheaper the further along you go. The beach itself is nice soft sand. Sea is beautiful. Definitely worth a visit. We got there by bus from our hotel.

The best beach on the island. Even if it is windy (which usually wind comes from the west side) this is a great spot to enjoy the sun and clear waters. The "negative" side of things is that one needs 20 euro for 2 umbrellas and 1 sunbed but they are comfortable 😀 I believe it's suitable both for families and couples.

Our favorite beach in Rhodes. Big sandy beach, beautiful surroundings. I would prefere less water activities. Sometimes very loud music. Free parking. Interesting path up to the monastery.

Beautiful sandy beach. The beach is clean and the water is clear, this is definitely one of the beaches worth visiting. On the beach you can also rent a sunbed and there is also a restaurant with food. There are also water attractions on the beach, such as water scooters, a water castle, etc

It is stunnig place. The color of the water is amazing! You are surrounded by mountains so views are wonderful. Be careful because sand is very hot. There is bar where you can buy something to eat and drink. You can go there by bus, there are many connections.

Lovely, quiet, Sandy beach with all comforts:umbrellas, sunbeds(5€), showers. Changing rooms, water sports, music and bars. Bus stop a/o Rhodes is just in front of it, and it runs three times a day for 4€. My absolute favorite so far!

One of the nicest beaches I’ve visited. Sand beach with nice beach bars, but also parts where you can go with your towel or beach tent and enjoy sun and swimming. If you plan to read a book on the beach this is one of the nicest places to enjoy a good read as well. Also, this beach has a small nudist part, so if you like that, it’s good to know.

3 stars review for the beautiful beach, unfortunately the beach bar owners think they can turn Rhodes to Mykonos by changing 25 euro for a set of sunbeds without providing toilet services. Think again before you see all of your sunbeds empty.

A gorgeous, clean well kept sandy beach with great sun loungers/umbrellas. Easy parking on the beach front.
The water is so beautiful, clear and warm. Watersports - easy access, and we had great fun on the inflatable playground and paragliding. Great swimming and snorkeling. Lovely restaurant.

I gave 5 stars because the beach is very beautiful, the water is clear, the sand is excellent and the landscape is special. There are plenty sunbeds with umbrellas. The administrators of the beach could set up more showers and trash cans, taking into account the high prices.

Beautiful sandy beach, shallow water far into the sea. Great place to take your kids.

Lovely beach with jet skis, a lovely cafe and nice sunbeds!!

Great beach, 2 sunbeds €20, but €50 for a cabana was a bit steep.
Bit of a deep shelf when you walk in but it’s fairly level after that. Crystal clear waters.

Great beach. Plenty of facilities. Gently shelving sea
Sunloungersand cabanas to hire. Not cheap but you get waiter service from those that are owned by the 2 restaurants. Friendly staff. Really good massage on the beach as well. Several restaurants on the drive down from the main road
Watersports also available.

Sandy beach with clean water. Plenty of umbrellas and sunbeds along the beach (the prices are different as they are rented by several bars/people. We paid €10 for both for the whole day). You can choose a spot depending on whether you want to hear the music from the beach bars or get to a more secluded area to relax. There is also a nudist beach area at the end. Several water sport places, plenty of canteens/bars with good prices. Showers and changing room available, a lot of parking spaces. The beautiful view of the mountains surrounding the beach add to the whole experience. 10/10 worth a visit.
The Archaeological Site of Kamiros is a beautiful and historical landmark on the northwest coast of Rhodes. The site is from ancient times and has survived excavation, making it a popular tourist destination with history enthusiasts. The city was built more than 3000 years ago and has been abandoned over time, with most residents moving to the city of Rhodes. The ruins are still fascinating and worth visiting for anyone interested in ancienthistory.
Absolutely worth visiting. Best view is from the top. Suggest to read the leaflet to feel the history of the ruins, started about 2700 years ago.

We really liked this place. For me it's maybe most interesting acropolis in Rhodos. You can go through few ancient houses ,there are signs how these sites looked. The entrance is not high,I would say it's really cheap (6€). There is also refreshment and we had cold mountain tea with lemon and honey and it is great to refresh yourself. There is parking spot in front of the entrance.

One of the three main cities of Rhodes. It’s not very popular or advertised but the site is absolutely impressive. Has few vertical structures still standing, but the size of the city is big. With a main temple, houses, a public square and baths, you will get a glimpse of the life of the past.
You can also find toilets and other amenities, unlike more popular ruins like Lindos. The ticket is also only 6€. Absolutely recommended if you are interested in the Ancient Greek.

One of the few archaeological sites to have an onsite cafe, which is most welcome on a hot day! The site itself is expansive, and while the ruins may not be particularly awe-inspiring, it's amazing to see the way water was collected - such a vital resource!

Oh wow! A must go to place if you like history and old buildings. Luckily with a fee of 6 euros you get wonderful journey back in time to Ancient Greece. Not too much but just right amount of information on sign with graphs. You can walk among or even in ancient houses. Absolutely go to the top of the hill to check out their water cisterns systems with ceramic pipes. Absolutely stunning!
Jaros?aw Skupi?ski — Google review
Nice views from the top, ruins are very old and only consist of low walls where the buildings were. That being said it was interesting enough and has shop on site serving food and drinks. Entry was €6 for adults and €3 for children.

Great site to visit if you want to view a less touristy but more authentic archeological site with over 2000 years of history on Rhodos. Easily visited yourself with a rental car.

Very cool to see the ancient ruins and have a guided tour show us how everyone lived back then.
Stephen Metcalf — Google review
Well worth the price of a guided tour from tour operator. Lots of steps but the views are really worth the effort. The site is partially excavated so lots more to come in the future if they finish the dig.
Peter Sampson — Google review
An excellent place to visit if you like ruins and history! Really clear examples of ancient structures with some good information around. Lots of stuff is roped off to protect it but there is still plenty that you can interact with.
A must visit!
Simon Cullen — Google review
Extensive and interesting ancient site with ruins dating back to 3,000 years old. Could do with more information boards so bring a guidebook. Good paths all round, generally a better site visit than Lindos.
Hugh Rogers — Google review
Nice place with interesting history, but only if you have a guide to explain the so many things each rock represents. The panoramas are extraordinary!
Alexandra Birtar — Google review
Very interesting site as I was given a guided tour and was told about what I was looking at, otherwise I would not of had a clue what specific medieval ruins I was looking at. Some of the ruins had information boards next to them that does help.

€6 entry fee, and worth every cent, a must stop if you have even the slightest interest in classical history, quite easy to walk around, plenty of shaded seating areas, and even a little refreshment cafe and wc.
This place took me right back to my childhood and fascination with Greek culture and mythology

Beautiful place, not crowded in late April, tickets €6, toilets free. Worth to visit!
Kamila Drozdzal — Google review
Interesting historical spot - we were there in April, there was almost noone, parking right next to the entrance, cheap 6 euro ticket. We’ve spent there around 45 minutes walking all over, reading the information tabs, taking pics and admiring the view. I wouldnt make it a highlight of my trip, but certainly worth seeing.

Fantastic! An absolute must see for everyone whom is interested in archeology, history and Ancient Greece.
The ancient city of Kamiros is magnificent and gives a unique insight in the urban planning and landscaping techniques.
One critique; a guide would be nice to have, or the option to scan a QR code and listen to an audio guide.
Dylan de Roo — Google review
From what we had seen, we thought it will be much less imposing than that!
When we arrived we were surprised by the beauty of the ancient city.
The ruins are good preserved so that we can recognize the different rooms of the houses. The view is magnificent with the sea in the background (see photo)
we had a great time observing this ancient Hellenistic city.
I strongly recommend
Be careful, no shade in the ruins (take something to protect yourself from the sun)
Sacha deLaporte — Google review
All I can say is WOW, what a fantastic sight, all these bad reviews claiming its to expensive, 6 euros per person is cheap, plenty of shade, we spent 3 hours looking around really enjoyed the site. There a snack bar for refreshments. All the people who have left a bad review, get a grip you sadoes.

Looks amazing, but very limited information on what we were looking at. We viewed the Wikipedia page for information whilst walking around the site, but that's quite basic.
Is this house? Is this a temple? Is that a plinth? These things are not obvious just by looking. Although there were some signs explaining that the top part was a temple, this was a bathhouse, etc..
We would have happily paid for a guide or info pamphlet if available.
A nice place to visit, do your homework before going.

Impulsive visit. Very peaceful, but felt the entry charge of 6 euro steep. (Last 20min its free entry!)
They have people there watching you - obviously to safeguard the ruin, but it felt a little stalky, especially when you try and take pictures.
