One of the most underrated Greek Islands, beaches that will take your breath away that are easily accessible. Lots of cats everywhere, live greek music in taverns, amazing traditional greek food.
Prices are reasonable in most places. A set of 2 sunbeds and an umbrella will cost you from 7-40 euros depending on the beach you go to and that is the price usually for consumation you dont pay for the sunbeds themselves but instead for the drinks and foods you order.
Coffees go from 2.5 to 5 euro depending on what you want to drink
Soft drinks 3-4e
Beer 4-6e
Cocktails about 9e
Gyros pita will cost you 4e in snack bars and about 6e on the beach.
The best way to experience this island is to rent something!! My suggestion is that you should rent a 125cc scooter cause it has enough power and you can park it anywhere ( parking for cars can get very crowded)
A scooter will cost you from 20-40e
A car will cost you 40e but if you take it for 3 days they will give you a discount to 100e
An ATV will cost from 35 to 80e for the better new ones
I suggest that you must visit
Paradise beach
Psili ammos
Trippiti beach
Golden beach
Have a nice trip!

Wooden square-shaped mansion owned by Atatürk with a columned terrace overlooking the Marmara Sea.
Yuruyen Kosk is known to locals as "the walking house". This is because Ataturk decided the building was too close to a large tree. Instead of removing the tree, he had the mansion moved. Ataturk first visited Yalova in 1927. He had specifically chosen this as his destination as he wanted to make use of the local thermal facilities. Whilst he was staying in this area he stayed in Baltaci Farm which was a wooden pavilion next to the thermal bath.
Ataturk commissioned the construction of a mansion for himself in Millet Farm and this was finally completed in 1929. The originally house made from wood was renovated later. The two-story building has three lounges and eleven rooms and is well equipped with furniture that has been taken from the Dolmabahce Palace.

I'll never travel to Thessaloniki without this trip planner again
The world's longest, this aerial tram travels 5.5 miles from the city to a nearby ski resort & park.
Exciting and a must try. It’s very quick turn around. The view is very beautiful. It may be hazy coz of the glass but in some areas, you will
have a very beautiful view. Just don’t move a lot and enjoy the breath taking scenery.

The views are crazy! My wife and I paid extra for the VIP car to skip the line and have the car to ourselves. It definitely will help you’re already feeling anxious. You can see the whole city. The cable cars are not cleaned inbetween rides so if the people before you leave trash it will be on there during your ride. Once you reach the top there are restaurants and even places for kids to play and to zip line. Great experience!

One of must-to-do in Bursa is cable car 🚡 ridding. It is considered one of longest Teleferik in the world (9km). It takes 20 min to reach the top. Best timing is one hours before the sunset where you will enjoy the sun horizon.
Make sure to wear winter clothes.
Khalid Al Mahruqi — Google review
One of the amazing experiences I had in Turkey. The cable way has 2 stops. The first one (Satialan) is at 1635 m altitude. Once out, you will fund many activities and things to do for the whole family. You can have nature walks in the amazing fir forest, play at the adventure park, rent a bike or ATV, have a picnic in nature and many other things. You can easily spend the day there especially for families. The second stop (kurbagakaya) is at 1810 m altitude. It has ski resorts and chalets. The ride in the cable way itself is amazing since you go up Uludag mountain, then ride almost horizontally, then ride to to the top very close to the trees where you can enjoy the fir trees. It is a must when in Bursa.

Caution, it can be scam if you don’t read my review, I went to the teleferik on 20/08/2023 at12:00 and I bought 6 tickets for my family (3 adults and 3 childs ) in ticket window the staff was promoting to take VIP and i bought, however the services and room with no view (picture attached) gave to me is totally different than what is in the website, i talked to the staff regarding the services and room is not as mentioned in the site, he said the one in the site is closed, nevertheless the price i paid is 17250 TL is incredible compared to what i got for, even the food was not as I briefed in the counter, they gave us as family two plates of chips and individual grill plate containing few pieces, it is really unfortunate of what I experienced, finally be aware of this place because even they didn’t replay to my remarks in their formal site, as conclusion dont take VIP ticket or Private cabin, not crowded, caution caution caution
Mohammed Almaskri — Google review
I went there twice! Such a lovely place, first of their teleferic is amazing, the rope is so long, the view is gorgeous, the sound of nature around ya, second of all, the bbq, everything about it was perfect, the view, hygiene, and the meat then we went for a bike ride but it was super slow, pro tip: don’t go far away in the woods for your safety!

Koza Han is a historical and multi-level bazaar that showcases Ottoman-era architecture and various retailers. It served as the primary hub for trading silkworm cocoons, which played a significant role in developing Bursa's textile industry. The inn boasts classical Ottoman-style architecture and opens to Uzun Carsi through an exquisitely crafted blue-tiled door at the backyard. It remains one of the city's prominent silk centers where visitors can find numerous renowned brands.
Beautiful place! Came early in the morning as soon as the shops open to avoid a crowd. Friendly people and great bargains for good money! Walked around for almost 3 hours and yet I didnt feel like going home. Definitely a good bazaar for those who love shopping or even for those who would like to sit down and have a cup of çay.

Saw in some vlogs that the place is famous for silk, which originated from Bursa, but every shop was having everything made in China, nothing original, and even those fake ones were overpriced. Just have a visit for the sake of memory if you are in Bursa, but I don't recommend doing any shopping there. Also there are few restaurants/cafes on ground floor and shops on first floor.

Koza Han is located right in the centre of Bursa and is easily accessible by Tram or by Centralized parking if you have your own car. We recommend to start exploring with a glass of Tea at the courtyard and then proceed throughout various shops for Gold , Clothes and any other thing you require ( everything is available here). Also towards the end the Bazaar is dotted with restaurants do stop by if you feel hungry.

Koza Han is a historical site in Bursa, Turkey, known for being one of the oldest and most significant markets in Turkish history, especially renowned for its trade in silk. Constructed in 1491 during the Ottoman Empire by Sultan Bayezid II, its primary purpose was to bolster the silk trade, a crucial industry in the Ottoman economy at that time. The name "Koza Han" can be translated to "Silk Cocoon Market," indicating its original use as a center for silk cocoon trading.
Architecturally, Koza Han is a stunning example of Ottoman design. It is organized around a spacious courtyard, which is a common feature in Ottoman market design, providing a serene and communal atmosphere for trade and social interaction. The courtyard is surrounded by two levels of shops and storerooms, which back in the day, were bustling with silk merchants and craftsmen. A striking feature of the Han is its central fountain, which was historically used for both practical and ceremonial purposes.
Over the centuries, Koza Han has retained its significance and charm, remaining a popular spot for both locals and tourists. Today, it houses a variety of shops selling not only silk but also other traditional Turkish goods and souvenirs. It's also a place where visitors can enjoy Turkish tea or coffee in its beautiful, historic setting, soaking in the atmosphere that bridges the past and present.
Koza Han is not just a market; it's a cultural and historical emblem of Bursa, reflecting the city's rich heritage in the silk trade and its pivotal role in the commercial history of the Ottoman Empire. For anyone visiting Bursa, Koza Han offers a unique glimpse into the past, where the spirit of Ottoman commerce lives on amidst its ancient walls and bustling alleyways.

This Seljuk-style mosque is one of Bursa's most dominant and durable landmarks. Commissioned in the late 1400s by Sultan Beyazit in a compromise after pledging to build 20 mosques, it features 20 small domes and two massive minarets. Bursa Ulu Camii is an architectural masterpiece that captures the essence of Islamic art and culture. As I stepped into the mosque, I was immediately awestruck by its grandeur and majestic beauty. The intricate details of the calligraphy, geometric patterns, and exquisite tile work showcased the remarkable craftsmanship of the artisans.
The spacious interior of the mosque provided a serene and peaceful atmosphere for prayer and reflection. The soft glow of natural light filtering through the stained glass windows added to the spiritual ambiance of the place. The sense of tranquility and reverence within the Ulu Camii was truly captivating.
Not only is Bursa Ulu Camii a place of worship, but it also holds historical significance as one of the oldest and largest mosques in Turkey. It serves as a testament to the rich cultural heritage and deep-rooted traditions of Bursa. The courtyard and surrounding gardens further enhance the overall beauty of the mosque, providing a tranquil space for visitors to relax and soak in the peaceful ambiance.

This enormous Seljuk-style shrine (1399) is Bursa's most dominant and durable mosque. Sultan Beyazıt I built it in a monumental compromise – having pledged to build 20 mosques after defeating the Crusaders in the Battle of Nicopolis, he settled for one mosque, with 20 small domes. Two massive minarets augment the domes, while the giant square pillars and portals within are similarly impressive. The most unique feature of the mosque is the inclusion of a “fountain” (şadırvan) used for wudhu in the center of the masjid, which is very unusual for a mosque. The sound of the water from the central fountain contributes to a serene and contemplative atmosphere.

A large mosque located in Bursa, this historic mosque was built to fulfill a promise, this mosque has many domes, apart from that the place around the mosque is also beautiful

Visiting the Grand Mosque of Bursa today was an experience I’ll cherish forever. This architectural marvel, not only steeped in history but also bustling with the vibrant life of today, offered a striking vision of cultural fusion and devotion. The mosque stands as a testament to the grandeur of the Ottoman era, embodying both the spiritual and artistic zenith of its time.
Upon entering, I was immediately enveloped by the tranquil yet powerful ambiance that radiates throughout the mosque. The interior design is absolutely amazing, a breathtaking panorama of Islamic art and craftsmanship. The intricate calligraphy adorning the walls, coupled with the elegantly detailed mihrab, speaks volumes of the meticulous attention to detail that went into the mosque’s construction. The vast prayer hall, dominated by the magnificent central dome, is surrounded by smaller domes, each contributing to a sense of divine ascendance.
The use of light in the mosque is another remarkable feature. The numerous windows allow for a play of light and shadow, which creates a serene and meditative environment, inviting introspection and connection. This, coupled with the richly decorated prayer rugs, lends an air of warmth and comfort to the vast space.
The mosque is not just a place for worship but also a bustling center of community life. The courtyard and surrounding areas are vibrant, with people of all ages coming together, reflecting the mosque’s role as a center of social and religious congregation. The sense of community is palpable, making visitors feel welcomed and part of something greater.
What stands out most is the mosque’s ability to simultaneously present a grandiose vision and yet not lose the intimate, personal touch that invites individual reflection and peace. It’s a place where history and contemporary life meld seamlessly, offering both a lesson in architecture and a profound spiritual experience.
The Grand Mosque of Bursa, with its stunning interior and vibrant atmosphere, truly epitomizes the beauty and depth of Islamic culture and heritage. It’s a must-visit for not only those interested in architecture or religion but anyone looking to experience the soulful essence of Bursa.

The historical grand mosque of Bursa is located next to the grand bazaar of Bursa.
The mosque was really packed because I went there on Friday during the Juma prayer.
The mosque in Turkey with the biggest inner congregation area is the twenty-domed building. Ottoman Sultan Bayezid I built the Ulu camii, or mosque, between 1396 and 1399. This mosque was built in 1399, as written on the front door.
According to Islamic experts at the time, this mosque was regarded as the fifth most prestigious place in Islam, after Makkah, Madina, Jerusalem, and Damesk.

The Grand Mosque of Bursa holds a special place in the hearts of locals and visitors alike. As you step inside, you'll be captivated by the grandeur and beauty of the mosque. The architecture is truly awe-inspiring, with its intricate details, towering minarets, and majestic domes.
The mosque is steeped in history, dating back to the early years of the Ottoman Empire. It was constructed in the 14th century and has since been a significant religious and cultural landmark. The design reflects the unique blend of Seljuk and Byzantine architectural influences, making it a true testament to the region's heritage.
One of the highlights of visiting the Grand Mosque of Bursa is the opportunity to witness the breathtaking interior. The spacious prayer hall is adorned with stunning calligraphy, colorful tiles, and beautiful stained glass windows. The intricate patterns and designs create a sense of tranquility and reverence.
As you explore further, you'll come across the impressive courtyard, which is surrounded by elegant porticoes and adorned with ornate fountains. It's a peaceful oasis where you can take a moment to appreciate the architectural beauty and soak in the serene atmosphere.
Another noteworthy feature of the mosque is the twenty domes that grace its roof. Each dome is unique in design and adds to the overall grandeur of the structure. The minarets, standing tall against the sky, provide a striking backdrop for photos and offer panoramic views of the city.
Beyond its architectural splendor, the Grand Mosque of Bursa is a place of worship and spiritual significance. It's a hub of activity, with locals and tourists coming together to pray and connect with their faith. The mosque also hosts various religious events and festivals throughout the year, offering a glimpse into the vibrant cultural traditions of the region.
In conclusion, my visit to the Grand Mosque of Bursa was a truly enriching experience. The combination of its rich Islamic history, iconic architecture, and spiritual atmosphere made it a must-visit destination. Whether you're a history enthusiast, an architecture lover, or seeking a deeper connection with your faith, this magnificent mosque will leave a lasting impression.

This starbucks is located near the Bull statue. It is 6 floors and each floor is tiny. It is still a good alternative if you are nearby and need a place to get your meetings&work done with a cup of coffee. Happy to have this at this location💯 The reason why it is not 5 star is because each floor is small and you might need to go up the stairs to find an emptu seat.

The Golden Horn is a horn-shaped estuary located at the primary inlet of the Bosphorus, serving as a bustling commercial hub and surrounded by parks. This popular tourist destination offers stunning views of the river, historical landmarks such as the bridge, and various picturesque spots. It is renowned for its rich history and cultural significance in Turkey. Visitors can take a cruise to experience the magic of sailing along this waterway, away from crowded areas where they can observe birds flying overhead.
Beautiful place to feel free looking birds flying over you!

Went to Turkey on a holiday and that was a mistake. Getting the tickets to the Golden horn cruise was almost impossible. The place was jampacked and there is no empty space. Thankful that our tour guide is quick and clever.
Anyway, the cruise had its magic on me once we were out in the river far from the craze of the crowd. I felt so lucky and in awe sailing the Bosphorus, a waterway full of history and pride. I can't contain my amazementcwishing the entire cruise that I was born there, or atleast live there. The views, the river itself, the bridge, the spots, everything is remarkable. I wish to go back and do it again.

The Istanbul Aquarium is one of the largest and most diverse aquariums in the world, with around 1,500 different species of fish, amphibians, reptiles and mammals. It's perfect for families who want to explore a variety of habitats from all over the world while enjoying some fun activities too. Highlights include diving with sharks and feeding time with the fish in large tanks.
A really fun experience. The aquarium has many sorts of sea dwellers and is structured with historical and geographic accuracy in mind. Definitely would recommend this if you are visiting with kids as it is great fun and for a small additional price they take photos of you with funny sea backgrounds.

Fun experience!
Good place for a family activity, I like that there are different activities inside not only the aquarium. The idea of having different moods and places is smart so that you don't get bored.
But I would recommend that they redesign all the charts and flyers as it makes the place look really outdated.

It was a beautiful tour. I saw new types of fish that I had never seen or heard of in my life. Everything was organized. The decor matched the type of fish on offer. There are huge fish and fish from the seabed, and at the end there is an artificial forest, but it's not big. The important thing is that it was a unique and wonderful experience that deserves to go back again

Our visit was in april 2024
Entrance fee was 26$ per person (880tl) (for adults)
The place would be more exciting for kids; they have different sections (starting with the black sea, suez canal, amazon river, & different environments) each section shows the variety of species living in it
There is also some kiosk selling food along your journey
The best part for was the penguins 🐧😍 but they glass was a bit blurry. Also the amazon section is intriguing as they convert the place into a forest with high temperature & high humidity levels where there are some crocodiles 🐊
It would be nicer if the experience of the other sections was similar to the amazon forest experience
There is a souvenir shops with nice items (i got one for myself for 10$)

This aquarium is great. The way they have the different areas decorated is amazing!
Our favorite areas were the attic and Amazon. We were visiting Istanbul as a family of 6 from America, so we don’t speak Turkish, and there was lots of plaques that hadn’t been translated to English, but that doesn’t bother me.
We used public transportation to get to the aquarium and it was very easy! And the price for the tickets isn’t too bad. We did try to buy them online, and we couldn’t for some reason.
If you are looking for something to do with kids, this is a great option.

So beautiful and "Kuzel", about 1500 kind of see creature. but price for entrance is a little bit high (350 Lira) without a provided service with the tourney.
ONOZONE STORE — Google review
You can find the tickets cheaper online. If you have bought them online, you don't need to wait for long. And, I strongly suggest you to go there not at the weekend. It's nice that English explanations are available, good variety of fish and also some other land animals. The only thing I don't like is it's too loud inside because of the kids all around! The price of food inside is very expensive when compared to regular prices outside. Also in the souvenir shop everything is extremely expensive!!
Illy — Google review
Really nice aquarium in Istanbul, it’s so big and has all sorts of fish and sea animals, with full explanation and writing for each one. Also the tropical amazon-like forest area is absolutely amazing, the humidity is like 80% i would say so you feel like you’re in gulf region or in South America or smth! It’s a wonderful feeling especially with the waterfalls and fountain inside it, but it’s a bit small though in comparison to the aquarium. Like you would spend around an hour maybe in the aquarium then around 10 min max in the tropical forest, but when you buy your ticket, you get access to both of course.
Hassan Go — Google review
It was really beautiful and an interesting experience. The variety of fish in this aquarium was great and the aquarium was very well designed. It is really worth seeing I definitely recommend The price of my ticket in March 2024 was 750 lira just to see the aquarium

A good experience if you are in Istanbul but not so rich from an exhibition point of view. A large main aquarium around which the whole complex is composed, with various viewing "windows". Otherwise, it is not very attractive as species and smaller aquariums.

And there is Tutankhamen museum you can access if you paid extra

Good place to visit with kids, beautifully presented with a lot of information. They made different sections according to the habitats of these sea creatures. Especially the tropical weather one is very good though be careful as the floor there is bit slippery. There was a really long queue, so it's better to buy tickets in advance.

Our visit to the Istanbul Aquarium was an extraordinary adventure that exceeded all expectations. As someone deeply fascinated by marine life, I was thrilled by the extensive variety of aquatic species and habitats on display. From the moment we stepped inside, we were transported into a captivating underwater world, meticulously designed to mimic natural environments ranging from the Amazon Rainforest to the depths of the Pacific Ocean.
Navigating through the aquarium, we were mesmerized by the vibrant colors and diversity of life in each tank. The layout is thoughtfully organized, ensuring visitors don't miss any part of the collection. Each section is accompanied by informative plaques providing fascinating insights into the creatures' lifestyles and habitats, enhancing the educational value of our visit.
One of the highlights was the shark tunnel, where we found ourselves surrounded by some of the ocean's most awe-inspiring predators. It was a surreal experience to have these magnificent creatures gliding gracefully overhead. The tunnel offers an unparalleled view, making it feel as though you're walking along the ocean floor.
The aquarium also features interactive zones, which were a hit with children and adults alike. These hands-on exhibits provide a unique opportunity to learn about marine conservation and the importance of protecting our oceans, fostering a deeper appreciation and understanding among visitors.
Beyond the aquatic displays, the Istanbul Aquarium impresses with its commitment to sustainability and conservation. It's evident that they prioritize the well-being of their inhabitants, ensuring that each species is housed in conditions that closely mimic their natural environments.
To wrap up our visit, we enjoyed a meal at the on-site restaurant, which boasts a stunning view of the sea. It was the perfect end to our underwater journey, allowing us to relax and reflect on the incredible diversity of life that thrives beneath the waves.
In conclusion, the Istanbul Aquarium is a must-visit for anyone traveling to the city, offering an enchanting experience that captivates both the young and the young at heart. Its combination of educational content, conservation efforts, and sheer beauty makes it a standout attraction, promising an unforgettable adventure into the depths of our planet's oceans.

We decided to stop off at this winery for a taste and snack while driving from Istanbul to Çanakkale, but it was disappointing. The girl at the front desk was talking on the telephone when we walked into the lobby, and rudely gestured at us to halt when we tried to pass. That was a bad first impression. It got worse when they would not sell wine by the glass or à la carte menu for food. Only a basic flight of their lower end wines and a mediocre cheese plate were served because we had no lunch reservation and were not staying overnight. The facilities/ambience are very fine indeed, but the wine flight was just OK. At least they agreed to give us a red substitute for the white on the list. However, this place needs better management and service. I should not have to buy a whole bottle, make a reservation for an empty dining room at noon, or book a room in order to get proper refreshment at a winery. They are not prepared to receive drop-in visitors, so don’t stop for a casual visit here. Barbare? Uncivilized!

The Military Marine Museum is a vast indoor and outdoor venue that showcases historical sailing vessels, cannons, and other military artillery. The museum includes exhibits on the Canakkale war, Cimenlik Castle, and the Nusret Mine Ship. While admission for students is free, adults must pay 13 Liras to enter. Visitors can expect to spend around two hours exploring the fascinating displays inside the museum.
The museum is inside the Ottoman castle, Çimenlik Kalesi, which used to be our destination to spend time by the seaside sitting on a bench in the good old days. Now you get access only by buying a ticket, which is sad. Yet inside the castle, they created a great atmosphere of memories of Canakkale Battle. Inside the castle, you may spend some relaxing time even though you don't like the war stuff, because the castle is really beautiful under the dim yellow light.

good museum. the fortress is worth seeing. we spent 2 hours there with the kids. there is a real periscope. one drawback - the employee refused to sell a ticket for 60 lira for a residence permit. he said that a ticket for 60 lira is only for a citizen of the Turkish Republic. The courtyard and the view over the straight must be very nice during warm season, although one can enjoy it in winter as well.

Great time spent here. Moment of reflection for the legendaries, braveries and patriotism of a people led by the strong faith in their heart and readiness to sacrifice their lives and souls for the future of only their people but all the marginalised and underprivileged people of the world. This peninsula witnessed a war where all the odds were against the Turks but their faith and bravery won them a legend unequalled anywhere in the history of the world.

It is a great location in the history of WW1 and Turkish history as well. It can be done on a single day from Istanbul. The presence of a good guide I think is essential, since it is difficult to be appraised of the entire history of events or their significance.

The weather was the coldest it has been since we began our journey in May. We had only been in Turkey for a day and we were so close to the Peninsula we had to come. So pleased we did. We visited the memorials and cemeteries of the fallen. It was extremely moving . The road around the peninsula is good and the route easily trod.
Boats busily coming and going up and down the Dardanelles make a rumble as they pass, somehow comforting at night . It's easy though to put yourself into the horror of the battles that raged here and the many lives lost for such a lovely place

I lived in Australia and New Zealand for a few years and Gallipoli is almost a founding myth in those respective countries.
It was fascinating to come here and see the place and battle(s) I heard so much about.
What was really interesting was also to see it from Ottoman/Turkish perspective. What's amazing about the whole complex is how the winning side the Turks have almost dedicated it to losing side renaming the landing area to Anzac cove etc. I can't think of anywhere else where such a thing has happened.
I did a tour which you almost have to do. It's a big site so walking and local buses are not a realistic prospect. It was really hot so bring water and sunscreen but most of all if you have heard of Gallipoli and have any interest in it absolutely worth a visit.

It's a lighthouse. Pretty clean, good views of the sea, with many available cafes and restaurants nearby. But it's just a little lighthouse.

Famous landmark of Alexandroupoli. The port area under this iconic landmark is open for busses and cars for both locals and visitors. Overall Alexandroupoli city is definitely a city worth visiting any time of year !!! People are friendly and welcoming 😁
Our hike to the waterfall was an unforgettable adventure, which took us just over an hour to complete. Although we got lost a few times and had to navigate through thorn bushes and ankle-deep water, the experience was still delightful.
Starting off the journey, there were several paths that branched out in different directions, with no clear signage to indicate which one to follow. But we persevered and stuck to the trail closest to the river, stopping for rest breaks along the way. Eventually, we saw painted spots on rocks, which proved to be our guide halfway through the trek.
To make the journey more comfortable, it's highly recommended to wear sturdy shoes and carry some water.
As we reached our destination, we were delighted to see the stunning waterfall and decided to take a dip in the pool at its base. However, we were taken aback by the number of people swimming in the nude.

A truly spectacular creation of mother nature! Incredibly beautiful. The path from the 1st waterfall is a bit slippery at some point, so make sure you have good shoes.

Such a mirific place. The first waterfall is the best one in my opinion. You can swim in both. The second one is colder.

The road is absolutely horrible. Flat tire on the way up. Road keeps going past the point marked for the trail. No indicator the trail starts here, although there seems to be some trail, who knows with all the goats if it's theirs or human trail? Also no indication there is any water in this area, is it seasonal? Am I in the wrong place? How would one know?
Now the joy of finding someone on the island that will drive up this horrid road to replace the tire.
Edit: while waiting the hour(?) for the tire repair, I decided to be adventurous and see if I could take the trail. Not sure if time of year or what, but there are massive fields of tall ferns that seem to obscure the trails. Followed trails that seemed to go the right direction, but eventually hit a grove of trees that had no obvious trail to it, and due to the heat and hopefully impending tire repair, cut my losses and turned around.
To the guy who did this in flip flops, my hat is off to you. If this is the trail, I would have given up immediately

Stunning place. Very cold water! So many high rocky surfaces where you can climb (not that hard) and jump in the water from 5 to 15 meters! Worth the visit! Try to go there early because at 12:00 - 17:00 is sooo crowded. Also the path is very hard after the 1st fonias vathra! So be prepared and take athletic shoes with you! Dont forget cold water and something to eat because after you reach there you ll stay there for hours just looking this stunning place!

Paradise Beach offers a vast expanse of fine, light sand that provides ample space for visitors to lay down their own umbrellas. However, the beach can be challenging to access due to a steep and dirty road leading up to it, wherein many people resort to parking their cars by the main road. Despite being crowded even on weekdays, there are areas where visitors can put down their umbrellas without feeling too cramped.
Great beach spot, excellent blue water (great for snorkeling), super fine white sand, a good looking tavern overseeing the beach, and lots of free parking spaces just near the beach.
The only problem you might have are the sunbeds being too close to eachother.
Teo Tkd — Google review
Very crowded and dirty beach, both the tourists and administrator are to blame.
(Smoke buds and trash in the sand and water, very few parking spaces)
The service there is abysmal they will charge you for sunbeds, but make you carry them yourself claiming Covid. (While not wearing a mask to support their claim)
This is the typical tourist trap kind of place, with a lot of publicity and nothing else. (Charged shower, high prices at bars, etc.)
The long strip of shallow water makes thes place suitable for families with small children.
So the only good thing here is God's nature wich people took to destroying.

1) Steep dirty road goes to the beach, car park. So, many people leave your car up, by the side of the main road.
However, 10min down-hill in the morning is nothing compared to climbing up the dusty road after day of swimming.
2) Extremly crowded, even on weekday. 2 sunbads + umbrella are 10 eur. Almost no space between sunbads.
On the further part of the beach there is much more distance between sunbads for the same price.
3) Areas where you can put own umbrella do not seem to be too crowded
4) 50 euro cent to take shower
5) Day we visited was windy. Very big waves whole day. Good fun, but not for the smallest kids.
6) Due to waves water was not clear
7) Very fine light sand
Dejan Mratinkovi? — Google review
The beach boasts of **fine sand and crystal clear water** that extends for quite a length, making it an **ideal spot for children and non-swimmers**. However, the **amenities** provided by the beach management leave much to be desired.
The **chairs and umbrellas** are available at a steep price of **25€**, which is not commensurate with the value they offer. The **toilets** are in a deplorable state, and the long queues make it an unpleasant experience. The **beach bar** is limited in its offerings and overpriced.
Moreover, the **parking** facilities are inadequate, with space for only about 50 cars. This makes it difficult for visitors to find a parking spot, especially during peak hours.
The beach is best suited for a crowd of around 200 people or so. If overcrowded, as it was when you visited, it can be an unpleasant experience. We recommend visiting during the quiet season. Alternatively, Golden Beach nearby offers a more enjoyable experience.

Nice beach and shallow water. Its a bit overcrowded.10 euros for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella.Bars a bit overpriced but you can bring your own food and beverages.Too many cats around the bars which at times are quite annoying.50 cents for a shower and only one WC for such a big beach

There is a decent parking downhill in a beachfront. Dear all who is going to Paradise Beach, please take some treats for local cats. There are a lot of homeless and very hungry cats.

Great beach, there is a beach bar you can seat under an umbrella if you don't have one with you but also place for you to sit by yourself. One of the best beaches in Thasos!

The scenery and the beach is amazing. Unfortunately it's really crowded and the bar doesn't offer so many options. The dirt road that goes to the parking lot right at the beach is steep so I would recommend to leav your car up, by the side of the main road. A must go to place, of course.

Very nice beach with crystal clear water and fine sand. 25 euro for 2 sunbeds and umbrella. It’s better to go before 10 in the morning because it gets crowded. Also the parking is small.
Стефани Петрова — Google review
If you have a proper car to go down the beach, you are lucky, if not, the way to the Paradise Beach is a real Hell, dusty, steep, narrow and quite long for this condition, all the time cars passing and if one has heavy bags to carry with, it is a hassle to reach the beach.I find the name of the beach quite misleading….
The beach bar is overpriced, the ice-cream was 4 euros, and the showers are paid,50 cents, no matter you pay 25 euros for an umbrella and 2 sun beds, only 1 toilet and 1 changing cabin for this crowd! it is also possible to have your own umbrella and chairs, but in case of carrying them down the mentioned way it is really suffering and unpleasant to reach the beach from the main road in the heat…
The water is clear and shallow, ideal for families with kids, the sand is super for building castles.
There were at least 20 cats in the beach bar.

Big and popular sandy beach. You can have a sunbeds and umbrella for 15€ (you have a free cofee included) at Nikos Grill, or 25€ on the other side of the beach (using showers is included. If you have your own umbrella, have to pay 0,5€ for each shower separately.). Parking place is on the main street, and also on the way to the beach. There is a place for your own umbrella and sunbeds.
Bojan Gvozdic — Google review
Amazing, sandy, expensive beach as a summary. You can park on the main road or go down (~400m) through dirt to get to the parking next to the beach (it's a steep downhill, but road is OK). Beach is surrounded by pinery, it is ~200m wide, with rocks on both ends, but without any good snorkeling options). There are two bars, but also big parts of the beach for placing your umbrellas. The first thing that you notice is sand, it is so fine, that you can use it for building walls. 😊 the second thing that you notice is 25€ for two sunbeds and umbrellas, for which you get two soft drinks or beers. This is too expensive, especially because it is self service, you have to go all the way to the bar to get your drinks (and all future ones). The prices of drinks are higher than on other beaches. There is a gap of ~10m between sunbeds and sea, great for playing in the sand. The sea is clear, sand is on seabed everywhere, with some 40,50m of shallow water, which is fantastic for kids and ball playing in the water. There was a big crowd on the beach, but the long shallow water lessens this. When you get out of the water, you will find out that the showers are not free and it will cost you 0,5€ per shower.

Advise if you are planning to come to this beach!
1. Go before 9-10, so you can catch parking, the sun bed is no problem because there will always be sun beds available just not right at the front, a little further down.
Sun beds are €25 which includes one umbrella and two sun beds, with 2 drinks includes of your choice.
The beach is absolutely beautiful, no rocks just sand, clear water beautiful sand and water! Definitely recommend.
Just very very hard to get down with your car but everyone comes down, everyone can do it!
Enjoy it!!

One of the best beach on the island, especially if you are with kids - beautiful sand, gradual entry to the water, no stones... Marvelous view. Very stiff sand - perfect to build castles.
One tip - take the turn next to the sign for Nikkies grill, not the Paradise beach road sign. You will get to the same beach but on the other side, which has more reasonable prices. Two sun beds and umbrella cost 15€ and you get 2 items for your choice like frappe or soft drink.
Aliki Beach is a stunning destination with crystal clear waters and small stones that add to its charm. Visitors can enjoy sunbathing and a short walk, while also indulging in meals and beverages at nearby tavernas. The beach offers sunbeds for guests of the tavernas who make a minimum order of 10, as there are no free zones for towels or umbrellas. Free parking is available on the street above the beach.
I think that this is one of the most beautiful beaches. You are able to have a short walk and sunbathing. There is a crystal water with a little stones but it doesn’t make a big problem as the experience is fully because of the place. You can take meals and beverages from any tavern on the beach. There is no free zone for your towel and umbrella, only sunbeds which you can use if you are a guest of the tavernas (minimum order €10) Free parking on the street upside.

The beach was very good. Several areas with different rules with umbrellas and sunbeds. We paid 5 euros for an umbrella and two sunbeds and could use the food and drinks we brought. The girl who gave us information about the area was very nice and kind. Behind us were two private houses and a bar with plenty of food and drinks. We are satisfied!

Beautiful water, very wide, clear blue and plenty of space to swim. Also you can do a short hike to see the stone career.
Mihaela Olariu — Google review
Beautiful bay with calm and transparent water, ideal for snorkeling and swimming. Having said that, the beach is way overcrowded, overpriced and overexploited. Best thing to do is wait for late afternoon (after 17:00), grab a foldable chair and sit on the cliffs. The Mini market has very reasonable prices to get drinks or snacks.
Bogdan Stavrev — Google review
The beach is a bit overrated, a little bit too crowded, but the water is nice. The price for the sunbeds depends on the provider, we paid 10€, nothing included. The view of the ancient marble quarrys is really nice, brinh water with you.
Alina Anescu — Google review
The beach may be the best one in the island. It is like a natural pool and very clean. But the problem is about the management of the beach. Most of the beach is under control of a firm named Aliki Houses. It is the hotel just near the beach and also rents the umbrella and 2 sunbeds for 10 EUR. It was said that there is toilet and shower opportunity also. At the beginning, it was. But they cut the water of the shower and locked the toilet after 15 pm. It was the rudest behaviour I have ever seen in Thassos. You should see the ladies and man trying to use the shower. Yes, as was mentioned before in some comments, it was the beach firm in the middle with white sunbeds. Hope this kind of people leave the sector since they give harm to Greece tourism.

It was a very beautiful beach, rocky on the seaside but sandy inside. Crystal clear waters like most beaches in Greece. Many trees and also protected from the winds, you will never find waves or strong winds there.
There are sunbeds all across the beach. There is no price for most of them but you have to eat at the owner's restaurant most of them are fine and tasty.
There is only one exception. There is a place called "Aliki" that charges two sunbeds for 50 euros!!! The place is called "Aliki" (not beautiful Alice which is a different one). There are no menus and the prices are whatever they decide.
Be careful the beach gets crowded fast and you may not find a sunbed if you go around 13.00 or 14.00. There is no room, if you have your own umbrella and want to go solo, unless you want to sit on the rocks on the edge of the beach (which is kind of idyllic but truly uncomfortable).

Wow wow wow! Everything about this place is fantastic. It's a must to go and visit. Could be crowded on parking and sunbeds. Water is amazing, clean and clear. Sand is light and soft. Food, drinks, music and atmosphere is great. If you come visit this beach, go see Ancient marble quary, it's beautiful with great walking tracks all around just above the beach. There are some amazing houses for rent. Check out

Little, crouded, noisy beach, no privacy at all, but with a nice view of the bay. The sunbeds are 10 euro per set or 40eur minimum consumption, depend where you decide to stay. Kids friendly water, not very deep.
Giola Lagoon is a stunning natural pool nestled within rocky seaside cliffs on the remote island of Thassos. Accessible by a dirt road or hike, this unique monument of nature offers a serene and beautiful experience. Despite being full of sea urchins, the lagoon's still waters and clear ambiance make it a must-see destination on the island. Visitors can expect to encounter goat herds in the area, adding to the overall charm of the experience.
Great place & a must seen in Thasos. It's a natural pool, between the rocks and even though the path to it it's not easy (especially if you are with children) - it takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes by walk for each way - it's definitely worth it.
You have to see it yourself!

It is very crowded place in June. The water is not clear and not convinced it is worth the walk in a hot summer day down and then up.
It is steep path of 400m approx. If you take the road instead is a bit better. Also park at the bar near Giola not on the first one which is furthest point.

It is not worth time and efforts to go down. Parking which is easy to reach is up. So you need to go very bad rocky way down long way and even worse to go after. If you don’t plan to jump, it is not worth to go down. The view is nice from up. Lagoon is just a hole with water and visible only from very low.

This is a must go place if you're on the island. You don't need to be scared about needing to jump, you can also easily go in. The way there and the way back to car.. not easy. But it is worth it. It is amongst most important sites worldwide, a natural swimming pool.

Great experience, the water was really warm in the morning and ready for jumping... recommendation to go really early in the morning to be alone so you can take pictures and everything. It get crowded fast, and it's hard to make good pics and jumps..

A nice and interesting place to visit. Wear good shoes on the way down to the giola pool. Jumping in is a real fun. It's deep enough so you can jump even from the highest rock. Look carefully for other people jumping in.
Ivaylo Ivanov — Google review
There is no entrance fee. Best to go there when everyone is heading back home. We went there around 19:30 (August 2023) and people were clearing out but the lagoon was still crowded. Thanks to that, we had no trouble getting down with our off-road car and we could also find a parking space in the second parking lot.
There are two free parking areas. First one is easy to reach and there is plenty of space. The second one is really close to Giola but it’s a rough ride, the roads are really narrow and there are not much space. If you don’t have an off-road vehicle, leave your car in the first parking lot. If you do have one, you are lucky because you don’t have to walk through the steep hill!
There is a cafe close to the lagoon but it closes around 7 pm. Better come down with a backpack full of refreshments. Also, there is no place to change your clothes. Wearing sea shoes is highly recommended!

This place is absolutely unique. Definitely a must-see in Thassos. It's a little bit hard to reach and there's a lot of dust on the parking and on the road to the rocks especially on very hot and dry summers, so be prepared to have your feet and your car really dusty. Make sure you descent to the rocks with comfortable shoes as the stones are slippery. Unfortunately we drew the short straw this year going in August. Because of the very high temperatures, I suppose, the water wasn't clear, but greenish. Maybe it's plankton and algae. Maybe it's better to visit it in a cooler month. It was still marvelous though - the view is incredible and the rock pool is unique. And of course jumping in it is quite the experience.

It's an amazing place, It worth it coming here even during the winter season. Take care to not go very down to the bottom with the car, especially if you don't trust it that much. Best idea is to follow the arrows or a very long white "cable" that shows the road to the lagoon.

The beauty of this site is surreal but ruined by soo many people visiting and leaving the trash behind. The road to Giola is very steep, slippery and dusty so you need to be very careful when climbing down. The best time to visit would be early in the morning when only a few people are visiting.

Its beautiful and great for jumping BUT, keep in mind that you have to walk up and down from the parking lot on a dusty path on the hill in open sun. You have to be really carefull if you want to jump because the rock under the water is not even and u may touch the bottom and its better not to jump head first from a high place.

Super frumos.

Super nice. One of my favorite places. Don't miss the opportunity to go. You have to go in the morning when it's cooler and freer. You have to go down to giola on foot for approx. 10-15 minutes. There is a longer paved road or you can take the shorter unpaved road, but it is more tiring. In the middle of the road is a small terrace with coolers and ice cream.
Don't forget to wear water shoes because on the edges there are some rocks that you can lean on in the water... but they also have sea urchins😅😅

Really beautiful monument of nature, what surprised us is that it is full of sea urchins, so can't imagine how you would safely take a bath there. At the moment of our visit the lagoon was very still and water was clear and it had a serene feel about it. You have to tak a 15-20 minutes hike from the parking, although if you have a 4x4 vehicle maybe you can get even closer. There are also goat herds around which contributed to the overall pleasant experience. We visited off season so it was not crowded at all.

Kavala Fortress
Fortress
Sights & Landmarks
The Kavala Fort is a 15th-century castle in ruins that features a round tower, guardhouse, and prison. It is located in the old town of Kavala and offers visitors a panoramic view of the city from its top. The climb up to the tower can be challenging, but it is worth it for the incredible views. The fort has been repurposed as an open-air concert venue and entrance fees for adults are priced at 4.50 EUR.
Beautiful view, from the tower you can see the whole of Kavala. Shoes must be comfortable, non-slip because steep streets and awkward stairs await you. The ticket price is five euros, and when you finish the tour, there is also a small bar with a garden so you can take a break and enjoy the view. 😍❤️

Beautiful view, you can see all of Kavala from the top of the tower. Quite a walk to get there, through some steep and narrow streets. Leave you car around the aqueduct and then go on foot. I gave 4 stars because half of it was closed and even though they were apparently working, I didn't see any tools or workers anywhere.

The view is amazing and that is about it.
Some investments are needed in order to make the location look nice. Everything is falling apart and nothing to look at other than some walls and cannon balls.
For the 4.5 euro you bette4 have a coffee close by and have the same scenery.

A nice, cute, small fortress. I am glad we took a taxi to the top instead of walking the steep hill in the hot summer sun. We walked down through the old town, bought things from eateries, and souvenirs shops.
The fortress offers a stunning view of Kavala. And it is a perfect place to take panoramic shots of the city.
One could quickly, say in 20 mins, traverse it, or spend an hour clicking photos and enjoying the scenery.
Part of the charm is walking through the narrow, steep, cobbled stones pathway and looking at the stunning turret.

Stunning view from the tower. But you need to work a little bit to get there. Also be careful where you park your car. I just take a fine for parking from greek police. Park the car on the right side of the street. The ticket was 4.5 euros for adults and 2.5 for kids.
Ammolofoi Beach is a popular coastal strip, perfect for couples and families during the months of June to September. The beach boasts crystal clear water and soft sand for visitors to enjoy. It offers numerous sun loungers along with thatched umbrellas, and several beach bars serving food and cocktails. The locals are friendly, and the food and beverages are delicious.
Fantastic beach with clear blue water and sandy shore. Quite shallow for 10-15 meters and with a loads of seashells (near the Wave beach bar) that you can collect. Parking can be found literally anywhere, whether it's a parking of a beach bar or a free parking. Lots of places for people to spread their own sunbrella and towel. An exceptional beach! It is divided into zones with different bars, which have separate parking spaces, umbrellas and sunbeds. Everything is free, just for a small order from the bar/restaurant, which is very convenient and makes you feel satisfied. The prices are a little higher than at other beaches, but they are reasonable (10 EUR for a beer and a frappe). Overall, a might say, this is the best beach in this area.
Laszlo Elekes — Google review
Ammos beach bar was great! Giorgos and the rest of the staff were very kind and quick serving us what we needed. The water is crystal clear and the sand feels smooth under your feet. Definitely a place for couples and families!!!

Maybe the best beach in the area. All sand, no pebbles, cristal clear shallow water, everything you need (showers, suncream, beverages, sitting area with umbrellas, boat rides, food, free parking) Great prices!

Amazing huge beach in Kavala region: sparkling water, very fine golden sand, nice music, showers and clean toilets, a sport playground, big parking areas. The road is nice, full of vine variety. Everything is beautiful and relaxing... just perfect!🌞🌞🌞🌊🌊🌊🏖🏖🏖

Peponi Beach is really nice place with volleyball field and the water is crystal clear

The best beach from Kavala 🫶
You have everyting you need.
Contra : The music at the bars is too loud

The beach is perfect for families with kids because the water is shallow and clean. Prices are a little bit higher than should be and service is almost worst from all other beaches I have visited with my family.

Huge beach with around 7-8000 sun beds different kind. Many beach bars with enough parking places. Sandy beach with shallow water 150m. Sun beds are for free if ordering a drink. Very good music in "Koo beach bar" on weekends with DJ. Best beach I have ever seen

A must see place. Great archeological site. They have identified the prison where the Apostle Paul was incarcerated. The theater is in great conditions.
Joel Malaver — Google review
The ancient Phillipi ruins were one of the highlights of our two-week trip to Greece. It is stunning, especially if you can take in the history and biblical significance of this place. It is well-kept and easy to get around. There are helpful signs and informational tokens.
They have a museum that is informational and intriguing. The site is situated on the side of a mountain with a beautiful view. To me, it is a must-see site.
Marshall Daigre — Google review
Awesome site with a great museum. Well put together to give you a real feel of the ages. Currently 6 euro each for entry including the museum.

Fascinating trip back in time. Great facilities and tour guides.
Carl Benfield — Google review
The archaeological site of Philippi offers a captivating journey into Greece's ancient history. With well-preserved ruins, including the ancient theater and basilica, it provides an impressive glimpse into the daily lives of those who once inhabited this area. What makes Philippi truly unique is the blend of Roman and early Christian architecture, making it a distinctive destination for history enthusiasts. As you wander through the site, the echoes of Alexander the Great's influence become evident, adding an extra layer of historical richness to the experience. Philippi is not just a collection of ruins; it's a captivating testament to the interwoven threads of Greek, Roman, and early Christian civilizations.
xronos vr — Google review
It was amazing to be in the same place Paul was imprisoned & inspired to write to the Philippians
Kacia Guisinger — Google review
The site is well kept, clean, a pleasure to visit and revisit, since archaeological excavations are still underway. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Great site. Well laid out. Even with a lot of tour groups it didn’t feel crowded.
Larry Larkins — Google review
Father of Alexander the Great II. Philip founded the great city, which he named after himself, in what had previously been a small colony, located on an important road. After the Battle of Philippi, whose place in our minds was deepened by Shakespeare's verses, this place became like a small Rome.
The Philippi Archaeological Site, today classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a wonderful archaeological site that is definitely worth a visit. When you walk around here, you instantly realize that you are visiting a smaller-scale Rome. The architecture and layout of the city are very similar to Rome. It is obvious that the excavations and studies were insufficient, but this also ensured that it was very well preserved.
Choose a day with good weather to visit and enjoy this historical site in the middle of greenery. I definitely recommend you to visit the Philippi Archaeological Museum within the area.
Murat Yıkılmaz — Google review
An outdoor museum on the tracks of ancient civilization and people, recalling the Roman Empire, well preserved and undergoing constant discovery works to show the modern world how our ancestors used to live.
A couple of hours well spent!
Annamaria Simo — Google review
Well worth visiting. There are very few shaded areas so a sun hat and plenty of water is necessary in the summer months. There are a number of helpful information boards (not shaded!) in both Greek and English for the primary areas of interest. Toilets inside (museum) and outside the main entrance. Cafeteria outside the main entrance. Beware: much of what we see, such as the amphitheatre, has been partially restored. A good eye will be able to see the original remains and what has been restored... that is if it looks too good (new) its been added! Thankfully it's not a problem for me. It also helps to get a better since of what it was like.
Patrick McCarthy — Google review
In my opinion a wonderful place to wonder through history. There are beautiful architectural details as well as different building methods and styles all mixed together in this one place.
I would suggest looking up the history a little beforehand the signs are a minimal source for information.

Sadly not opened. One of the few world heritage sites we actually were and couId not visit due to opening times. I hate the greek opening times. First day closed due to national day, then closed because tuesday. They are a shame for a Unesco world heritage

Greece is the perfect place to visit ancient places and to “inhale” history. This site is a must if you visit Kavala. The experience we had is unique; you get to see an ancient Greek city as its natural location.
The site is large and includes the theatre, a museum and the actual remains of the city of Phillipi. Each turn you come upon amazing structures. There weren't many visitors, which meant enjoying these beautiful structures in peace.
There is so much history to be discovered at this site, much more there than we expected. It is like a hidden gem.
Kavourotrypes Beach is a well-liked destination with a combination of sandy and rocky areas, suitable for swimming and sunbathing. The beach also boasts a small bar for visitors to enjoy. Considered one of the finest beaches in the Mediterranean, it offers stunning panoramic views and an abundance of marine life which makes snorkeling an unforgettable experience. However, it can become quite busy due to its popularity among tourists.
Best beach in Mediterranean: superb landscapes, teeming underwater life (snorkeling is a must), super clean waters. The only negative is that it gets really crowded
Lucian Popescu — Google review
Absolutely beautiful beach with crystal clear waters, but also a bit of a tourist trap. Very overcrowded. The bar on the beach blasts loud music spoiling this natural beauty. A lot of garbage right next to the parking area. Unfortunately what could have been a paradise spot is actually so packed that it almost causes anxiety. Hope the authorities do something about the bar, clean it up and limits the number of people.
Laura Alexandra — Google review
We were fortunate to visit the beach at the end of the season when the weather was perfect. The beach was virtually deserted, creating a pristine and breathtaking setting. It was an amazing spot to unwind and enjoy the tranquility of the sea.
R D — Google review
Very nice landscape, probably the best for camping. There are couple small beaches between the rocks, all look amazing from the top of the hill. Only one of them has the sun umbrellas and the bar on the beach, but they all get overcrowded (so much that there is no space between the sunbeds and towels - you have to jump over or move something if you want to get to the water). I thought this could be nice place for snorkeling, but the visibility in the water was poor regardless of how far I’d go from the beach.
Ivana Todorovic — Google review
Only 4 stars as this is not the kind of beach we prefer. For sure it's a must see but that's all, as there are only a few places where you can seat ; the beach is very narrow and there are only a few places with sand and at 8 AM these were already occupied. Also the exit from the main road is very challenging,so if you have a low car you may hit it, as there is quite a level difference between the tarmac and macadam roads.
Tibi N — Google review
Over rated beach. Merely no sand beach. Very overcrowded. People sitting in the forest behind the beach, or on the walk way. Or on the rocks. No place for more than 20-30 persons. You should arrive in 7-8 am to find free place. No place at the beach bar at 10 am.... Very disappointed. Anyway, the beach and nature are really beautiful, but just for short sightseeing.
Stefan Penchev — Google review
A picturesque cove. It feels like a ‘local’ spot rather than a tourist beach. The beach has lots of natural shade from large trees. The sand is soft and if you bring goggles you can do some fish spotting among the gorgeous rock formations. There is a bar which has lots of seating under the trees and they play great chilled music rather than loud party tunes.
Carla Paszkowski — Google review
The only beach on two peninsulas (Sithonia and Kassandra) we got disappointed.
The beach itself is really beautiful with white sand and blue water. I would have given 5 stars if not a huge BUT! It was totally distorted by people. There is a lot of trash around, people are living in the tents, sun beds are everywhere making it impossible to enjoy the beautiful around.
For ones who is interested, there is a nudist beach around the corner
Lana Foodie — Google review
Beach bar has a reservation system that's not explained anywhere. We paid 100 euro for a transfer to this beach and we were told that it's full!
Bouncer was rude and told us to go away. We had to walk a long way to find some place to stay with my family.
Extremely loud music and extremely loud generator that's probably why the music is so loud.

Nice place and accesible with car. Quite full and difficult to find spot to put the tower. Beach with sand and rocks. Easy to spot different fish around. It has a small cantina for a refreshments/snacks.
Alejandro EM — Google review
Marble rocks shape the nature of this beach.
Very crowded and narrow place. Not enough amount of sunbed and umbrellas.
But if you reserve a place just before one day, you will fell privilaged with your sunned in the morning.
Be there before 9:30 at latest.
Meals are cooked not nice. We didn’t like the taste. Because they can not manage to serve such a crowd with a few number of employees.
If your aim of presence is to be an Instagram phenomenon, you’re ar the right place.
Kaan Pamuk — Google review
That’s the best beach I’ve ever been to! Really!
It has some disadvantages though (but it’s still 5 stars)
The main thing I like about this beach are its views and versatility. Here you can find literally everything — sand, rocks, shrubs, coniferous trees, super clear water of turquoise color and the bottom is shallow and smooth. You will love it!
The main disadvantage is that this is a very popular place among tourists. It’s one of the most crowded beaches we saw in Sithonia. So don’t expect much private space, sometimes it even hard to find a comfortable place to stay in. The same goes for parking. The second time visiting this beach we tried to arrive before noon, but it already was full of people. So I guess maybe the best time to really enjoy its views is early morning.
Vitalii Romaniv — Google review
It is a beautiful small beach, unfortunately the beach bar is a total disaster! It is super crowded and the music annoying, the spectacular beach is that crowded that is very hard to swim there. The staff do not care about you, you could be there for hours and nobody ask you if you need something, we tried to call the staff attention but they ignored all our attempts …. Because we were starving we decided to left, just we start to gather our belongings the staff come over for start to fix the chairs and the umbrella.
Maria Priscila Gonzales — Google review
The water and the beach are actually wonderful, like from the magazines. But the number of people is unacceptable. They are literally everywhere, it is even impossible to walk without walking on someones's towel. Roaring music from the bar completes the catastrophe. In the off-season it is probably empty, but also not so warm and beautiful, so in my opinion it is impossible to use this beach for me.
Katarzyna Kula — Google review
The best place to go if you wan to see natural beauty. The sea is from another planet. Don’t miss it even if you are around here for one day. In the Orange beach bar they are not charging for sun-beds and umbrellas etc. . Cool prices too.

Byzantine Tower of Prosphorion
Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
The tower was built in the 11th or 12th century, as part of a "metochi" (possesion) of the monastery of Vatopedi. The top storey and the retaining wall at its base are the result of extensive repairs after an earthquake, probably in 1585. The wooden constructions in the interior (floors, stairs, etc), and the roof, date in the mid-19th century. The building that is attatched to the tower was a boat house, with storage space in the mid-level, and living space on the top floor.

Didn't have time to go inside (but didn't look like there was much to see)
From the outside or looks very interesting and is a great focal point meeting place.

Very authentic middle-age tower! I really like that owners leave a lot of stuff not renovated so you can touch and feel history.
Aivaras Janu?auskas — Google review
It’s the signature tower of Ouranoupolis but although I’ve been many times in the village on my way to Agion Oros, haven’t had a chance to visit inside. The locals tell me there isn’t anything special which is a shame because it could have been a great museum as the spot is very touristy…
Ioannis Roilidis — Google review
Visit this old tower to learn a piece of history and for the view on the sea. Take a few minutes to read the information about the history, because it is definitely better than the exposition hosted inside the tower.
The tower is not very tall and the last floor is off limits but still, the view from the window stills is nice.
Ovidiu Voicu — Google review
Interesting history and connections to a British couple. Right on the seafront next to a promenade of local restaurants.

beautiful cruise along the coast of Athos to see the monasteries on the west-coast. Value for money. We took the afternoon cruise at 14.00 hours from Ouranoupoli.

Nice experience. We have the 3h trip, where we saw 8 monesteries. You can find on boat drinks, cofee, snacks and for children you have "captain experience" at the end of trip.

The trip was fine. It took us more than 3 hours (and i think that this might be an often problem).
I did not understand why on the way back, the ferry stayed even further from the shore than the allowed 500m distance.
Ingr Bergman — Google review
Great experience. We were offerred info in Romanian regarding the monasteries. Pay attention when setting expectations: mount Athos is not visitable, the monasteries are seen from.boat (500 m from coast).
Aniela Gheorghe — Google review
We had a great experience with the company and the Mount Athos cruise. While it is astonishing nowadays to have 2.000 monks enjoying such a huge part of a country, it is still good to be informed by the history and how we got there. Price for the afternoon cruise was 22 euro per person
Alessandra Alari — Google review
The cruise lasts 3.5 hours. The walk was beautiful.
victorita gutu — Google review
Amazing cruise! Can't recommend enough!
The only problem was that we couldn't really hear the explanation part in the loud microphone because of the wind but omg what an experience was!
I saw dolphins from first time in their real inhabitant which was truly amazing.
The monasteries were also beautiful. The cruise was going 500 meters from the island so we could see so many things.
Barbara Korsos — Google review
The cruise was good, the best view is from the seats on the left side of the boat. Bring some bread or bisquits, Seaguls are following the boat throughout the whole trip and you can feed them from hand. Monasteries visible from the boat are a mixture of really old ones (800 years +) with a few built in 19th century. If you have it, bring your binoculars with you since you will be cruising 500m from the shore and won't be able to see details without it.
Beverages are cheap to buy on the boat.

Great time with Athos Sea Cruise! You can buy tickets online or at the harbor (the ticket office is on the main road just before turing into harbor). Mini bar is on board, the monk from abbey came by boat and it was oportunity to buy some religious attributes, if wanted- don’t forget cash:) the trip took 3-4h.

I wasn't that bored since high school. I feel asleep after half an hour of not seeing anything interesting. Unfortunately i woke up in 15minutes and couldn't fell asleep again. So i had nothing else to do but watch the boring island from half of kilometer distance.
I thought there will be at least some dolphins but unfortunately they didn't show up.
Speakers on cruise ship are bad quality and you can't hear everything.
20€ for 3 hours of boredom.
Trip was 1/5, but i have 2/5 because of the kind staff.
Danijel Korošec — Google review
Good service in different languages, no problems during the cruise which takes about 3.5 hours. Monks from a monastery came on board and brought some holy objects to worship. We could buy some blessed objects and produce from the monastery.
Michaela Markova — Google review
The most BORING boat cruise in my life. I fell asleep almost in the end of seeing last monastery and listening voice guide through the speakers which was monotonous and hard to understand. The monasteries are all the same, nothing special. If you want to have a great experience seeing monasteries even inside I highly recomended trip to Meteora which is definitely worth the time unlike this trip 🙄😴

Something amazing. Very quite place and full of happiness
Karydi Beach, located in Vourvourou, Halkidiki, is a picturesque destination nestled within a pine forest. The beach offers a mix of modern and traditional Mediterranean flavors at the Melia restaurant. Visitors recommend arriving early to avoid crowds and enjoy the clean sandy shores and crisp waters. Families appreciate the shallow areas for kids and ample natural shade provided by trees. Additionally, the beach features unique rock formations, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling in its crystal-clear waters.
The most beautiful beach I've gone ever. Although there are a little bit of jellyfish but they are not dangerous. The water of the sea is pretty cyan and very much clean. I recommend it as the best place in Chalkidiki!!!🤩🤩🤩🥵
Nikos Zdrafkakis — Google review
The sand is very fine unlike other beaches. It gets very crowded very fast and when we went there was a lot of dead seaweed which made the water brown near the shore and very unpleasant looking 🤢
Claudia Visan — Google review
The best place for kids. The water is warm and very shallow for a long distance, the sand is very fine and you can go from a sand beach to a rocky one. Good for snorkeling also
Great view over Mount Athos

This summer, our family of 12 people spent a whole month in Vourvourou and visited Karidi Beach every day.
Yes, the beach will get crowded if you arrive after 9 am. We always got there around 8 am and left by 10 am. The sun is not ideal after 11 am. The beach is clean, and the water is crisp. You can enjoy the shallow beach if you have kids or the deep ends to the left and right. Plenty of parking. Beautiful sunrise. Will definitely visit again.
Panagiotis Konstantinidis — Google review
Great beach especially for the families with kids. Fine shallow water.

Stunning bay but so crowded. We arrived at about 11.30 and just stayed 2 hours as it was so busy. If you want shade in the trees arrive really early ( impossible with teens!) Water is so blue and the scenery is beautiful.

Nice blue water and interesting shaped rocks. Dirty and heavily overcrowded sandy beach. There are no sun beds and umbrellas to rent, must bring your own. Would not recommend it to spend a whole day there.
Angel Evdokimov — Google review
Beach that looks nice on photos, but in fact shallow never ends, you can't swim at all. If you want to wash your feet it is ok. Very crowded, and very dirty in the afternoon. There are a lot of better choices to go to the beach nearby. Don't believe everything you see in photos.

Excellent sandy beach with a lot of natural shade and clear waters. Is one of the best beach from this area and is quite easy to reach. If you want to enjoy it, and admire it's full beauty, you need to go early in the morning, before 8 AM , otherwise, it becomes crowded, and it will be a challenge finding a free spot on the beach, and a parking place nearby.

The best beach you can find in Sithonia. Lots of natural shade from the trees, calm and blue waters, not overly crowded like Portokali beach. You need to come earlier to find a spot. Overall a 10/10 experience.

Clear crystal water and nice pine wood behind. Very attractive with some nice rocks in interesting shapes and colors. If you are visiting Sithonia, this place is “must see”.
Ivica Naskovski — Google review
Beautiful shallow beach. Perfect for the kids. You can always see them and there are no worries about deep parts. About the stay on the beach there are a lot of let's say little separate parts where you can put your umbrella, beach tent or similar.
Marko Žeravica — Google review
Unfortunately, Karidi beach has turned into a swamp. We have been visiting it as a family almost every season for many years, but it has never been this dirty. Apparently its popularity and too many people have a negative effect on the purity of the water. We won't be visiting the beach anytime soon.

Very good preserved archeological place, with many different things to see (a kind of bothanical garden including). Free entrance and free of charge WC.

Visiting the ancient Stageira ruins was a captivating journey through history. The remnants of this once-thriving city offer a vivid glimpse into the past. Coupled with the stunning views surrounding the site, the experience becomes truly remarkable. The combination of history and natural beauty makes the visit to Stageira ruins an enriching and awe-inspiring adventure.
Gene Ivanov — Google review
Stagira was founded in 655 BC. by Ionian settlers from the island of Andros, and soon after that colonists from Chalcis settled there. The ancient city was located about a kilometre from the village of Olympiada. Strabo in his "Geography" places it south of Acanthus and says that opposite it is the small island of Kapros. The first excavations in Stagira began in the late 1960s and continue to this day. In 1970 the fortress of Stagira was declared a cultural monument.
Unfortunately, there is not much to see and the road to the fortress is not in good condition. The place has a beautiful view!

I was very positively surprised by ancient Stageira, the birthplace of Aristotle, a truly unique location surrounded by breathtaking scenery which ranges from coniferous forest to sandy beaches. The site itself doesn't bombard you with too much information - just the right amount. There are signs that explain what you see and frequent maps to guide you around. There aren't too many tourists and the tranquility allows you to process and to think what life many have looked like in the city all those years ago. I would recommend investing at least two hours to allow yourself time to take everything in and appreciate the nature around. If you're coming between May and September, the nearby beaches are a hidden gem.

Very interesting site and the upside is that it is completely free to enter. The surrounding scenery here is beyond words!

How cool is this ancient town, the birthplace of one of the greatest philosophers in history, Aristotle. They ancient town was much larger than I expected with unbelievable views.
Norm Bour -Travel Younger — Google review
The ancient town assumes the top of a cliff, overlooking the Aegean Sea. As you wander around, you will find remains of various buildings and facilities.
You can trace the pattern of the town’s walls, which are parallel to the coastline, in general. At the top of the southern hill, you can find the remains of a citadel. On the northern side, however, take a look at the vestiges of Classical Hellenic houses. Next, don’t miss what remains of the water tank between the hills.
Besides traces of the ancient town, you can examine the remains of the medieval period. The Byzantine fortress’s vestiges belonged to walls, a tower and a cistern.
