Rhodes is a large island located in the east Aegean Sea and the historical capital of the Dodecanese islands. It is well-known for its Colossus of Rhodes, as well as its beautiful old town. The island is home to many cultural and archaeological sites, as well as sandy beaches and pubs.

The old town of Rhodes is excellent. You are living in history with knights and Kings and feel the stories of the periods .

Great and unexpected gem for us travelling all around the world. Check all my other reviews around the island.
Our top 5 places:
1. Paralia Prasonisiou
2. Old city of Rhodes but get lost from known streets and visit public market.
3. Archangelos Cave next to Grande Blue. Still hidden gem
4. Profitis ilias" Monastery
5. Kallithea Springs
We have been during low season so expericne may vary :) there is no uber and bolt in 2021. But car rental is a must. Cheap and easy. Nowhere in the world I have seen car rentals with such good rating.

The old town is something to behold... A great piece of preserved history.. Some very nice, well sourced restaurants amongst the standard tourist traps... But if you avoid the places with food pics outside your pretty good

Wow!! I had never heard about Rhodes prior to visiting this island but I will surely never forget the amazing day spent exploring one of Greece’s true gems. We landed at the port of Rhodes and from the first step on this stunning island you can instantly feel a sense of safety and serenity. The old town castle boasts some amazing shopping, and the beaches are among the best in the world. It’s very easy to get around by foot/Uber/Taxi, the people are extremely friendly, and the food is outstanding. Our family can’t wait to revisit this island and further explore all it has to offer ❤️.

One of the best summer vacation ever, the town is beautiful, great food, beautiful beaches despite the fact that Rodos Town doesn't have sandy beaches and the Old Town is a must see, at least one time in your life. Lindos is superb,Lindos beach and Tsambika beach are superb, this island is a must do.

If you like history this spot is awesome!...you're here in the middle of it. It's a steap climb but there are donkeys you could use to get up and down.
Many different concurors have left their marks...but luckely haven't whipeout all of the others...somethimes they found a different purpose!

A magical and varied island, full of deep historical architecture and rich welcoming culture. The food and wine was excellent, whether we ate simple local food or went high end. I had very little idea how liveable it would feel, as the old town has everything one could need to be comfortable. A slower simpler pace of living is possible here, and we were lucky to have stayed with a wonderful warm family that shared home cooked delights with us. We also found it easy to travel around and go to other islands. The weather is perfect for me as it’s hot yet breezy so I would recommend it to those who also enjoy that kind of feel.

One of the best Greek Islands you can visit in the Aegean Sea. Fun filled ! Steeped in history. Great sand beaches in the east of the island. Wind surfing and water sports in the north and west of the island. Loads and loads of hotels , restaurants and watering holes !! Enjoy late night fun at Faliraki !!

It's a great place to visit for lots of sunshine and great food. I'm gluten free and had no issues getting appropriate meals. I hired a car for four days and felt safe driving. I also took a couple of boat trips, one around the harbour and one to Symi. Rhodes is a great place for solo travellers, couples and families. It has something for everyone.

Very pleasant walks around the fortress and the old part of the city. He conjures up the history of this place and the entire island.

When I got down from my cruise, I got down into a trashy place, like the bad parts of the old town, but the next things make it a 5 star place.
There are very nice people.
I enjoyed the souvlaki and gyros there.
There are many places to see and the market and bazaar are nice.(advice: the market has souvenir shops with pornographic souvenirs, so make sure your kids don't see that).
Everything is pretty cheap in Rhodes and quality items are cheap.
I highly recommend you to visit Rhodes 😄😀😃😉

Fantastic sandy beach with crystal clear waters - plenty of facilities including inflatable waterpark, jet skis, towables - our favourite was definitely the Sofas!
Snack bar had burgers, coffees drinks etc - perfect to for that afternoon lunch!
Oh and not to mention the bubble beach next to the watersports - its worth the little snorkel out to see something different.
Would definitely recommend a visit to this beach if you are in Kos.

Very nice beach! Sand is amazing. Windy thou.. But the path is challenging. With a 4x4 take the long route, we need to go back half way the "short" road recommend by Google.

The Google maps showed us two roads to get there, well the west way was not a road! Unless you a drive a Jeep, don’t take it! The beach itself was very nice though, we spent the whole day there

Amazing place, nice sand beach with so many options where to stay. Lot of sunbads with umbrellas - 10 euro for set. You can use also one restaurant, one beach bar, toilets and showers. Nice place for all day. We were also on rocks like a little hiking, where we found some salty places :)

Paralia Kardamena is a spacious and beautiful beach located on the edge of the town. It offers a quiet spot to relax and enjoy the clear waters. The beach is conveniently close to shopping amenities, making it easy for visitors to access everything they need. Additionally, it's just a 15-minute drive from the Fortress of Antimachia, adding historical interest to its appeal.
Beautiful beach on the edge of the town. The beach is very convenient for shopping amenities.
The beach is very clean with clear water. The beach does have a small shelf on low tide.
Would definitely visit again. 😍

It's a nice beach with nice restaurants. Sea is very clean and there isn't much wind and wave. Sun beds are usually priced 7-10 euro for two. Taxi is not easy to find in the center. Better to ask restaurant.

Sea and beach are fantastic here, easy to swim because inside sea is all of sand
The Tigaki Beach hotel is perfect for those looking for a relaxing escape. The all-inclusive facilities include a tennis court, an outdoor pool complex and a beach area, making it the perfect spot to take some time out. The tranquil waters are great for swimming and there is plenty of space to relax on the white sand beaches.
Amazing. Nothing but sand and blue seas.
€10 for 2 very big mattress beds for the day with service to you. Excellent.

The staff is very nice and the food is good, but the hotel is not environment-friendly. They use plastic straws, cups and they force you to wear one time use plactic gloves in the restaurant wich was all okay 3 years ago but now they should really upgrade especially next to the sea.
J?nos Barna — Google review
Wonderful ⛱️ nearby within 5 minutes walking. The rooms are good and quiet. The food is ok but there's only inside dining. Don't expect anything from the Wifi... it's just scrap.

(Translated by Google)
Let's start with the good things, the rooms were clean, actually these were the good things.
Furthermore, the bad things, little variety of food, everything almost cold, the owners walk around as if they don't feel like it, especially with a big mouth towards the staff. The staff themselves do their best to ensure that you have a nice holiday.
But in terms of owners, what is walking around is bad and that should be a calling card for the hotel, well not. If there is any remorse, everything should be softened immediately.
Our experience at this hotel has never been very bad again
Daddypuff94 Daddy — Google review
I came away from this beach feeling like I'd been to a spa. Beds so comfortable, view is to die for. Sea so inviting. We both loved it and are deffo going back.
Chester Cheeto — Google review
Positive:
Close to the beach , which is great and beautiful. The Tigaki area is quiet calm and small (if you like this).
The pool area at the hotel is great!
Negative:
It’s a four star hotel. It should be 2 star. The food is bad. No variety and lack of signs what it is and that’s terrible if you are allergic or haft a special diet etc.
our room was a museum of the 80’s. You get no shampoo, conditioner etc , the cleaning is only wiping the floors. Every time they have cleaned the left doors unlocked... The beds were hard as rocks.
It’s free Wifi but this really sucks. Bad or no connection!
Prepare yourself for Germans! And a lot of German kids pushing in the restaurant.
When we checked out the staff didn’t even ask how our stay have been...
No I’ll not recommend. But I’ll recommend Tigaki and Kos.
Elin Lidefeldt — Google review
The hotel isn't extremely bad, I enjoyed my stay, but it's just a poor 2 star hotel.
The rooms are clean and the garden area with the pools is very nice and well maintained.
However, the rooms are outdated. There is no soap or shampoo in the rooms and the hairdryers aren't functioning.
The food is extremely poor. It's school cantine quality. If you are vegetarian or vegan there won't be anything to eat for you except for some canned peas or carrots and potatoes.
For breakfast they sometimes have one pack of soy milk but half of the time it isn't there.
They really have to step up their game here.
Add some vegan milk, nuts and fruits to the breakfast and it would already be a lot better.
For dinner don't add meat to all literally everything.
Although there is supposed to be WiFi it basically doesn't work.
The service is also poor. During check-in they don't tell you where your room is or any other facilities. It's not that they are rude, they just aren't very helpful.
Marald Otten — Google review
(Translated by Google)
The rooms are fine and clean. Rooms are made up daily including new towels.
The bartenders are very nice and the service is perfect.
The owner, daughter and another woman in charge walk around the hotel grumpy all day long. Haven't heard a single good morning yet. When you ask the daughter something, she just sighs and doesn't even roll her eyes. If you are having a drink on the terrace in the evening between 11:30 PM and 12:00 AM and it is noisy, the woman tells you that it must be quiet immediately. Of course we understand it, but the tone that was set was shocking to us. Then the bartenders also received a lecture from the woman.
The breakfast is fine, as is the lunch. In the evening it was disappointing. Often the same food and not always hot. The employees are very nice.
The location is perfect! There is also a bus stop at the hotel.
The shops are a 5-minute walk away.
Not a second time for us.
kim doensen — Google review
The positive first: The hotel is only a few hundred meters away from the Tigaki beach. Access to the beach via the driveway about 3 minutes walk.
Otherwise the hotel is more like a 3 star hotel. 4 stars are not appropriate. This starts with the fact that there is not even shower gel or shampoo in the bathroom and not even a bottle of water when you arrive. Instead, despite all inclusive, you should buy everything extra in the hotel's own shop. For me an absolute no go for a hotel that wants 4 stars. Simply absurd and proof that the hotel is extremely stingy and tries to earn a few euros with what is taken for granted.
Unfortunately, things are now getting worse. The only restaurant in
Hotel is completely closed. The terrace, which is very spacious and shady, may not be used for eating during the main meals, because the staff does not want to serve on the terrace, they do not serve anyway, only used dishes are cleared away.
The crowning glory, however, is the restaurant boss: the personified rudeness! His job is to greet the guests. He just about manages that. But woe to a guest who dares to come into the restaurant shortly before the end of the limited buffet times, then he will show his true face! Then the guest is snapped at in such an unfriendly tone, and unfriendly pointed out that the buffet is about to close, that one would like to leave, which is probably the intention of the restaurant chef.
As a guest, you have the impression that the restaurant manager works for the railway company, the light is switched off at the minute and regardless of whether guests want to take something else, the cutlery is simply cleared away so that nobody can get anything anymore!
Unbelievable and unbeatable in terms of unfriendliness and unprofessionalism! The same goes for the service. This one deserves 0 stars. One can hardly speak of service, because all the staff does is clear plates. This is truly an outstanding achievement and second to none.
The hotel manager seems to be just as unprofessional as the restaurant chef, because the first time I complained and asked to speak to the manager, he was not available. However, in the days that followed, no one reported
Hotel management with me. Complaint management is a foreign concept at this unprofessional hotel.
It happened the way it had to. On the last evening, the situation escalated verbally and there was a violent and loud verbal argument between the extremely unfriendly restaurant manager and me as a hotel guest. Again the hotel manager was unavailable. A poor hotel employee had to serve to mediate. He tried his best, but unfortunately he couldn't save the hotel's reputation given the unspeakable behavior of the restaurant manager.
Due to the absolutely unspeakable conditions regarding the hotel restaurant, I unfortunately have to downgrade the hotel to not recommended. I can't in good conscience recommend anyone to rent there. A feeling of well-being and carefree enjoyment of the holiday is hardly possible with such lousy service in the restaurant. The rest of the staff was friendly, but unfortunately the behavior of the restaurant chef is ruining the hotel's reputation and management is doing nothing about it.

Very nice food, perfect location, good room conditions (free air conditioning, cleanliness). The staff are very polite and helpful. Swimming pool is quite large, and - what's for us was most important - has a children area.

A beautiful hotel with all inclusive, but little variety in the food. Beautiful swimming pools, which are not heated, but if the outside temperatures are good, that is not a problem. There is little to do for children.
The staff is very friendly and the rooms super clean.
The hotel is located near a beautiful sandy beach (150 meters)
Chris Van Capelle — Google review
Probably the best beach in Kos, at least this is what the locals say. It is ideal for children because it is a wide and long beach with a slow slope into the water. The water it is calm and certainly warmer than on the eastern part of the island. Of course if there was a high wind at large, there will be some debris on the shore. That's one of the reasons why people should not throw plastic into the sea. I got a minor cut at a foot into one of this debris.

Dean G — Google review
Absolutely loved the stay! Nice staff, great food. The hotel was most likely fully booked out, still wasn’t to full. Privat Beach very close by (2min walk). 2 Beach chairs and 1 umbrella cost 8€ a day at the reception or 5€ per person at the very lovely old dude who oversights the beach. Renting car, bike, motorbike, quad possible. Music at the bar is played all day but subtle. Even when check out at 12 you can still book a free shower for 30min. For 10€ deposit you can get two beach towels. Rooms refreshed daily. All in all highly recommend. Thinking about going again in October.
Nils Buurman — Google review
I’ll start with the positives, great location, nice and clean pool… that’s about where they end.
When we visited the listing said that there was internet provided BUT THERE IS NO INTERNET!!! Internet is only available in the lobby and SOME rooms, not ours. This one really put a bitter taste in my mouth, I think it’s horrible to mention there is internet when it is ONLY in the main lobby and reception area. They also did not make a great attempt at fixing the issue. I have stayed in a multitude of hotels, and I think this is the first one where there is just no internet availability.
The non-alcoholic drink selection is mediocre at best, with there only being one mocktail available.
Our bathtub drain did not close.
Parsa — Google review
What a wonderful place. Everyone we met was so welcoming and encompassing. Every restaurant we went to was superb, the beaches were clean, the sun beds and bikes reasonably priced. The cocktails were delicious wherever we went. It’s a shame there’s a problem with taxis on the island, but apart from one long wait, it was generally good service. We also had great fun cycling the beach road, jet skiing, going to the mountains and going to the old town and harbour - it’s super easy to get about! Can’t wait for our next venture here soon!
To access this shoreline, a small vessel was taken from the harbor at a cost of 5 euros for a round trip. This charming location, known as Halcki Island, boasts a breathtaking sea and offers the option to rent a beach umbrella for 3 euros per person or opt for a larger one with a spacious bed at 15 euros. Amenities include an umbrella service bar and an inviting restaurant.
Love this beach. Fun to get there using Gianni's Express boat, 5€ return from Halki's harbour. Very good food and drink from the beach taverna and really friendly service. Sunbeds are free and it is a little paradise.
Mary Tynan — Google review
Really nice beach in a perfectly calm version. Crystal clear water. Quiet. Very cheap sunbeds of 3 Euros /per day. 30 min. walk there and back from the harbour or accesible by water taxi. The restaurant seems perfect with a nice staff and the best Greek beer is served there as premium in freezing jugs.
Zoltán Nagy — Google review
Amazing beach, you can take the mini-bus from the port. The sun beds are free to use, better go early to get one.
Jo?o Costa — Google review
Very well organised and somewhat cozy place outside town. You may easily walk here, but it's nicer to take the taxi-boat - it's holiday-time! They will gladly serve you drinks at your sunbed, around 1 pm most guests head for the nice and shady taverna. Good food, nothing outstanding - but tasty and not overpriced. Enjoy probably the best bread on the island (not from the local bakery I guess) and all-time favourites such as seafood pasta or a simple Greek salad. Kind and polite service.

Just so lovely. Excellent taverna, BBQ sea bream is a must and everything else that’s coming from that real barbecue fire. Taxi driver (only one on entire island) will pick-up/drop off at taverna from the port €4 return per person.

To reach this beach i took a small ship from the Port at the cost of 5 euro round way trip. This is a very lovely place is the Island of halcki. The sea is beautiful and you can rent a beach umbrella for 3 euros pp or a big beach umbrella with a big bed for 15. There is a bar with umbrella service and a restaurant. The restaurant is very nice and the Food is very Good you can taste local fresh fish grilled at the moment and you can chose from a show case what type of fish do you want. The prices are normal for the good service.

The Asklipieio Kos is an archaeological site in the town of Kos, on the Greek island of Kos. It is the most important ancient site dedicated to Asclepius, the god of healing. The site was also a healing centre and school of medicine, founded by Hippocrates himself in the 3rd century BC. The Asklipieio Kos Museum houses an incredible collection of artifacts from ancient Greek medicine, including hypnosis treatments and water therapies.
Very tranquil peaceful place, we really enjoyed looking around. The stall on the way out served refreshments which were well needed after exploring in the hot weather, the fresh orange was amazing.

I love this place in the late afternoon when the crowds are gone and it is a little cooler. Amazing to think Hippocrates, the father of medicine taught here. When you get the tip top the views are stunning.
There's also a great little cafe at the entrance which does the most amazing lemon slush, a great way to cool down before you leave.

If you are British you will have to pay a different rate to members of the EU. Unless you want to cultivate an Irish accent or sound French you will have to pay the full rate. It should have cost me €4 but I had to pay €8. It was well worth visiting as it is a very historical site and has excellent views of the nearby Islands.

Very interesting to visit if you like ancient ruins, beware in the midday as there is not much cover and it can be very hot.
The cafe as you come in though had amazing lemon ice drinks so with the visit just for that.

Not completely authentic as a lot of rebuilding with modern day products such as concrete! But gives a good idea of what it used to look like. Worth a half hour visit.

Interesting, but a bit expensive. It is 8 Euro to go in - without any guidance inside. There only are a couple of delapidated information boards. But it is still fun to walk around and imaginge the space as it used to be.

Small but nice ruins, worth to come with your car and stop over. You will spend there maximum 1-2h, and in 30 mins you can walk through whole area. Going by bus will kill half day.

You can tell that this place was impressive in the past, but unfortunately now it is not greatly kept and there are no pathways or much description of what we see and the story behind it.
However, there is a small exhibition in it which is very nice.
The cute cats are always a plus!

A stunning awe-inspiring place. Well maintained and clean. €8 per person entry and a decent sized free car park. The enormity of what they were building all those years ago and how much of it has remained intact has astounded me. I would definitely recommend a visit.

The birthplace of modern medicine, if you will.
Although it is just ruins, the pillars still stand giving you an example of how imposing and gorgeous the buildings would have been.
It's always a pleasure to walk in the same steps as famous people from history and believe me there is not many that can stand toe to toe with hippocrates.

In 10 minutes you see everything, unfortunately there is no sign during your walk, only one or two at the entrance. They could have marked better the site. Interesting though, it’s worthy a visit
Ruins of an ancient city, with columns & archways, plus an amphitheater & views of turquoise water.
I have to say that the historical area is not amazing if I compare with Ephesus but history was absolutely amazing in there that called Pompeii of knidos at the time. Come here about 3pm and first you can visit the area then you can swim then you can see the sunset. Don't forget swimsuits, towels, sunglasses and sunscreen. You can swim where you want and see the sunset then go back.

Superb ruins of a major ancient city which started over 3000 years ago. Not easy to access but the road is OK. Otherwise you'll come in by boat. It's fame came about because it had a medical school, and the first statue of a naked woman: Aphrodite. Absolutely recommended.

Ancient site in a beautiful setting. 50TL entry per person. Crowded for the sunset which is worth it. The anchorage is very nice but definitely overcrowded in high season. Docking at the municipality pier is 100TL. Seems to be the the safest option, essentially if you find a spot alongside.

In its day, sailing into either harbour must have been jaw dropping. A little disappointed & bewildered as to what little there is remaining, given its isolation. Beautiful place.

Unfortunately a few columns left from historical legendary city-states of ancient Greek. Yet you would still feel the history once you visit.

Knidos was a rich and famous city of Classical Era world that was the home for Mathematician Eudoksus, doctor Euryphon, famous painter Polygnotos and architect of The Lighthouse of Alexandria, Sostratos.
The cith is right where the Aegean Sea meets the Mediterranean Sea. It has harbors on each coast; northern one for military use and bigger souther one was for trade purposes.
The sun dial which Eudoksus made can still be visible at site.
Remember to bring your wine and watch the fascinating sunset on the hills.

I drove there by motorbike and the road was spectacular. Tarmac in good conditions, bends were a pleasure to drive with such a scenery. In order to explore the tip of the peninsula and reach the lighthouse you have to pay 50TL (entrance to the ancient site). It’s not much and definitely worth it. Lighthouse can be reached in about 20minutes by foot following a clear path. I was there on a weekday around noon and there were just a few people at the site, while nobody else at the lighthouse, so it was very very peaceful.

Visiting Knidos Ancient City was an awe-inspiring experience! The historical significance and well-preserved ruins left me speechless. Walking through the ancient streets and marveling at the intricate architecture was like stepping back in time.
The site’s breathtaking location overlooking the Aegean Sea added to the magic of the visit. The panoramic views were simply stunning and provided a picturesque backdrop for exploring this ancient wonder.

Knidos is important and must see place. You can see a beautiful harmony of history, sea and nature. The road is a bit narrow and winding, but it is a place you must see at the end. The toilets were not very clean, such important places should have much better service areas.

What a fantastic place and definitely worth the drive. We were lucky as there were no people, so we had the site almost for ourselves. Probably during the season, there would be many more people. Make sure you bring water and be with comfortable shoes.
Therma Beach is an amazing natural hot spring spa located in the east of Kos Town. The beach has lovely sands backed by towering cliffs and is a relaxing place to bathe with its hot springs bubbling up through the rocks. It is a spectacular tourist spot with breathtaking views of the sea.
Small rocky beach with a thermal pool half separated from the cold water. The thermal water can be really hot, close to the source it can even burn, but farher away it's an enjoyable 30-40 degrees Celsius. The beach has sharp rocks and the waves are strong.
D?niel Szab? — Google review
Really loved it. It wasn’t busy on the evening when we first went. We went back to watch the sunrise which was beautiful! It was just us and one other person. Drive as far down the steep winding dusty road as you can for parking, you could literally drive up to the pool area if you wanted to.
It does smell a little but it’s a sulphur heated hot spring so to be expected and it wasn’t overbearing. It’s not the prettiest beach but once in the pool you kinda forget about it.
It’s really hot by the outlets of the spring waters.

I absolutely loved this place when I visited Kos in Greece. It was highly recommended by a tour guide. Since I had rented a car for the week, I was able to spend most of the day there. On arrival, we were greeted by a lady who engaged us in conversation, inquiring about where we came from. Conveniently, there's a spot to grab a drink before and after visiting the beach, located at the top of the hill near the parking area.
The path to the beach is marked by a steep hill that's unavoidable. I chose to park at the top where there was ample space, although it's possible to drive further down.
Descending the hill, the scent of sulphur from the water becomes noticeable. There's a pool fed by a natural hot volcanic spring, which is quite warm. However, the regular waves moderate the temperature to a comfortable level. Soaking in the spring leaves your skin feeling wonderful, despite the temporary 'eggy' smell and the possibility of it turning grey or blonde hair green. It's definitely worth the experience.
This is undoubtedly a must-visit spot in Kos.

Good place to visit especially during off-season when the sea is cold.
Sometimes the springs could go super hot, but you can then sit nearby from the sea side enjoying both the sea, doings and the view.
Be are in mind that there is a big lack of any facilities nearby, no toilet, no changing rooms.
Olga Bulankina — Google review
The thermal baths are not what we expected. It is a small bath and it smells very much like sulfur (not nice if you have asthma). You can go there by bike, then it is still quite a climb. We went by car. From the parking lot it is about 500 meters down the dirt road and beach. If you have difficulty walking, it is better not to do this part on foot. Please note that your phone makes contact with a Turkish telephone mast in that area, this is not included in the European bundle and can cause extra costs.

Great place to chill, or should I say bath. It is possible to drive almost all the way down, but it’s a lot better to walk as scenery is breathtaking.

This place wasn’t too far from our hotel, the views while driving and at the location were amazing. It was bit of a walk from the car park but we’ll worth it
The hot spring wasn’t too busy and was very relaxing, the place was clean considering the amount of people around there and the pebble was beach had amazing views.

A “must” if you are on the island. You need to park and walk down the slope, wear comfy shoes. There are no facilities once you are down, therefore think about bringing enough water to drink. There used to be a beach bar 3 years ago that was serving nice cocktails, unfortunately closed (second photo). Be mindful about your valuables here, pack lightly if possible. It is usually safe on the island, however, you might have to leave your staff unattended on the beach to enjoy the springs…

Super interesting to be in a natural thermal bath on a beach. The actual bath is kinda small, smells like sulfuric and yes, the walk is steep - but nature doesn't care about your feelings, it's just what it is. The only thing I didn't like was the old, abandoned hotel which kind of ruined the view. Time your visit well, so you don't have to share the bath with too many tourists ;) P.S.: loved the goats chilling on the hills!

Amazing natural hot waters.
The rock pool creates a wonderful experience. It gets very toasty when the sea is still and not washing over the rocks but is great fun.
Beach is fairly coarse and pebbly.
Goats are great fun to watch as they scale the cliff face.
The little bar/cafe at the top of the hill is definitely worth visiting. At first impression they appear pushy but they really aren't, they are super relaxed and laid back. Plus their prices are extremely reasonable, even more so when you consider the remote location.
G Wood — Google review
An interesting experience. The beach itself is very rocky, so we would recommend swimming shoes or something similar. The water in a very small area is noticeably warmer, but beware !! as soon as you get near the beach (ie. Driving on the road toward it), your phone will connect to the Turkish phone towers, so turn off your mobile data on the road to avoid roaming charges.
Aimee Hollingsworth — Google review
Excellent thermal spring. It is surprisingly hot! Not good for a hot day. Smell of sulphur near the source. Hard to get to. You can park an atv right down almost next to the beach. Steep gravel hill for access. Not much else there. No shade either.
Mick Spanner — Google review
Natural place where you get hot thermal water coming out from the ground and mixing with sea water. It is hot but when mixed with sea, it is great to lay down and relax. We visited this place at the end of May and there was a lot of people already so sometimes you will need to wait to get to this small natural pool. We parked our car for free and then walked down.

Therma beach is wonderful. Friendly goats are a special experience.
The water is also something special, hot at the source, colder a little further from the coast.
I recommend Therma beach, here you also have a wide range of food and drinks and sunbeds with umbrellas.
Tanja Mocnik — Google review
Small stoney beach, which has a small 5 metre rock pool which is also open to the sea which has a mix of spring water and sea water. A good thing to, because the water is quite hot too hot if not for the sea water.
At the top of the hill, there is a little cafe which sells water drinks an ice creams, and fruit. The old lady on the till is really nice.
You walk down the hill past a smaller food truck, and you come to the thermal beach.
The beach itself is stoney and coarse, bring aqua socks. Also, don't bring food as the local pickpockets🐐, will search you bags for it.😅
Usual eggy smell close to the springs.

In spite of being the iconic land mark in Bodrum with upscale luxury spot, it’s full of street dogs lying down inside the marina walkway and at the entrance gates of high brands stores which looks disgusting . It’s also surprising that, the place has very little toilets, so prepare yourself to wait in a long line to get in .there is no masjid around to pray in for those who need it.

The archaeological museum of Bodrum Castle features artifacts from ancient shipwrecks and a large collection of glass. It is Turkey's largest museum devoted to underwater archaeology.
Excellent museum and castle worth the time to visit. Entry is on the western side of the castle, and the visit itself is well organized to visit all parts of the castle in order. As you walk around the ramparts, admire the view of the sea and town, the artefacts from the sea wrecks, and the inscriptions telling the story of the construction of the castle by the Order of St. John. In summer, the museum rooms have air conditioning to give you some respite and toilets are available during the visit. Some rooms have graffiti from the 1500s ... Amazing.

This excellent museum is set in Bodrum’s historic castle and a great way to spend a morning or afternoon. Exhibits about underwater archaeology are interspersed with open air displays of statuary and artifacts from the castle’s history.
The castle itself is a fascinating place to explore, with beautiful views of the ocean and a history that stretches from the days of the Knights of St John through to its bombardment by the French during World War I.
But despite the beautiful surroundings, the archaeological exhibits, housing artifacts mostly recovered from shipwrecks spanning about a thousand years of history, are the real revelation. Not only does the museum’s curation place these finds in their fascinating historical context, but they have also done extensive video interviews with the archaeologists who recovered them over the course of thousands of dives.
One of my favorite exhibits partially recreated a small ancient trading ship carrying stores of glassware, which were recovered from the ocean floor and then in many cases painstakingly pieced back together by the archaeology team, who lived for months in a remote camp while working to catalogue the wreck and bring it to the surface. Interviewed years later for a short documentary available as part of the exhibit, you can see the archaeologists tear up as they remember the moment of uncovering gold earring lost for centuries under the ocean, or finding the last missing fragment of shattered glass vessel. A really beautiful and moving exhibit.
Celia Bell — Google review
The price was kinda high(150tl per person) but you don't get much anyway. The first floor was dedicated to average scale & weighting exhibition (showing you a bunch of vase) and even smaller room dedicated to huge vases. On the second floor we found a nice collection jewelries but it too was rather small. And that't all. It took us around 30 min to see it all.
It my be a nice place to drop by if you are in the area or to kill a spare hour but it's not worth a dedicated visit.

It was a great experience.
The castle walls and rooms and stairs were as great as the artefacts.
We didn’t think it was fair to charge an additional fee to see the glass ship wreck, so we opted to skip it, out of principle, as it wasn’t expensive, but still.
Great views and great picture opportunities.
We really enjoyed it.
The stairs can be steep and daunting and there are loads of them, so just be aware if you have a sore knee or hip of some sort, as it can be challenging.

If you are visiting Bodrum, this museum is a must. Even the fee of 350 TL should not stop you. In the well preserved casttle you can find several small exibitions presenting different themes and time periods. My advise is to visit the casttle early in the morning. Later in the day you will be confronted with some big tour groups taking endlessly selfies.

The castle has multiple small museums. The Underwater Archeology Museum is the most magical although it is pretty tiny. It feels like walking back in time into an underwater world. You can see a reconstruction of a ship that sunk hundreds of years ago. Together with that, objects from the ship are displayed.
Bodrum Castle houses the Museum of Underwater Archeology, one of the world's most important museums for displaying discoveries of ancient shipwrecks in the Aegean Sea. The impressive structure is built on a beach in Bodrum and offers splendid views from its battlements.
Incredibly nice! That Castle is just a very beautiful and structured Museum with an enormous space… you really need time to experience it in the way you should! Plenty of an outdoor space as well as indoor… Nice and quite detail exposition, really peaceful area with a marvellous view!

Built by the Knights Hospitaller in the 14th century to defend against the Ottoman's, the enormous structure was a multi-national effort and contains four towers: the Italian, German, English, and French. It also houses the museum of underwater archaeology. The views over the Aegean and Bodrum Harbor are magnificent.
David Huwiler — Google review
I'm very happy to have visited this place. Just made me realize that Bodrum was actually antique Halicarnassus, home of the Mausolus tomb - one of the 7 wonders of the antique world.
We came for the sunset view, but were pleasantly surprised by the content of the visit. History of the region, population settlements, archeology from the various periods. Nicely divided in the different towers and rooms. Adding more direction signs could help navigating the site but it's not so huge anyway.
We enjoyed a lot. Quite worth the time and money!

Holy Monastery of the Taxiarch Michael Panormitis
Monastery
Sights & Landmarks
Churches & Cathedrals
Sweeping monastery dedicated to Archangel Michael, rebuilt in 1783 & featuring elaborate frescoes.
Beautiful monastery in a stunning bay in the south of Symi. Famous for the icon of archangel Michael. It really is a place of pilgrimage and the traditional offering is a rush or Reed broom.
The bell tower is stunning as is the inner courtyard where the Chapel is housed

Beautiful monastery about 30 min bus trip from the port. Cost 10 euro return by bus, the roads are windy so if you get travel sickness make sure you take something before you start the journey! The bus left at 10:30 and return bus was 12pm. Good to pick a time when it’s not too busy. Absolutely stunning part of the world.
Tess Ellwood — Google review
It was a 30 minutes stop en route from Rhodes to Symi . It is ok , not great , no entry fee , nothing to do . We didn't have a guide so we did not know what we are looking at. We had to search online . It is a small place that you can visit in under 1 hour , they have a museum (only religious orthodox exhibits ) that you can visit for 3 euros . They also have a souvenir shop of mostly religious items . Next to the monastery there are are a few restaurants and shops .

Went here as part of a boat trip run by Poseidon, a very good trip organiser. Stunning location and inside the chapel you'll see a magnificent display of gold and icons. Please note, photos are not allowed to be taken inside the chapel itself.
Phil Bowles — Google review
There is not lots to see here and while Symi is a lovely island I don't think it is any different from the rest of the Greek isles.
We bought a TUI trip from Lardos to Simy as a guided tour for just over 120 euro for two of us, which included all travel and admission to the monastery, but there really isn't very much to see. I feel quite underwhelmed and at every stage it was a case of trying to get every penny out of you.
The talk in the sponge shop and the explicit sales chat, taking us to a special restaurant so we wouldn't get ripped off, but we found a better local place with a more authentic feel, great food, service and not inflated prices.
Anyhow, overall the trip was okay, but wouldn't do it again. We have spent a fair amount of time travelling and not so much seeing anywhere. Felt a bit trapped in TUI land.

Beautiful monastery, is worth is visit for its architecture and size but also for the sight it offers, it feels very remote and unique.

Superb place, even if busy it's well organised and you get in very quickly. Church has got amazing hand-painted frescos and a huge silver iconoclast of St Michael, protector of all Greek sailors. Make a note of it on your itinerary when in Rhodes.
Shoe Princess — Google review
Little and beautiful monastery, absolutely worth a visit. One hour is quite enough to see everything in the little town. There is a gift shop and a little grocery store as well.
Lehel T. — Google review
After a 90 minute boat ride (with incredible views of the Turkish coast) and we arrived at the Holy Monastery. While it is extremely small (and the lines are super long if you don’t get there early). Said to have been originally built in 450 BC, the church was extensively rebuilt in the 17th century.
The intricate wood work and icon inside the monastery are majestic, bringing many people to tears.
We loved the quick stop here and even managed to purchase a fresh loaf of bread from the local bakery.
It does get really crowded and there’s not much else to see // do. Make it a stop on your way to Symi, but don’t count on spending more than an hour or two.
Nick Stagge — Google review
If you are in Symi 8-9 of November and want to go to the feast day celebrations at this monastery (and you should go) it’s easy. Mini buses run from near Pantellis restaurant in Symi town on the hour (ish) from 7.30 am (10e return / bought an hour before). We had no idea about timings of events at the monastery and could not find anything online in English but we ended up arriving at 11am just in time to see the icon of St Michael processed to the war memorial and to hear the “cannon” explosions. I’d recommend getting there a little earlier. We picked up a return bus easily at about 2.30 having visited the icon, bought delicious pastries and watched the huge Dodecanese ferry do a full circle in the harbour whilst blowing its horn and being serenaded by the monastery bells. Great experience and the bus ride to the monastery through the mountains is beautiful.
A S — Google review
A wonderful experience visiting this Monastery. The funniest part was that it didn’t seem like a monastery at all, more like a hotel.
The building is painted white and looks amazing as you arrive via boat. As we docked on our boat, the bells of the Monastery started to chime, welcoming us to the place. We had only 30 minutes here, but we saw enough to make us want to come back again for a longer stay.
Spencer Hawken — Google review
The Monastery lies near some crystal clear waters. It has a miracle icon of Saint Michael. I think that the Monastery is worth visited when not so many tourists around so that onw could pray in quiet. You can find nearby, at the oven, delicious pastry.
Alexandra Birtar — Google review
A lovely bay to anchor with turtles swimming around. On land, there is plenty to see and places to eat delicious food. There is also a bakery for fresh bread and baked goodies. I recommend!
Maria Stoyanova — Google review
You can visit the monastry but it takes maximum of 30 minutes in total, sea is not that much suitable for swimming, but you can see some sea turtles which is kind of exiting. Other than monastry there is not much thing to see here.
Myself and my husband Stuart had a fantastic experience. We laughed from start to finish. With a great surprise at the end. Good value for money.

Nice trip for the kids we where very enthusiastic after reading the reviews but a little disappointed after the trip.
Nikos was not so nice as described And a bit agitated instead (shouting to the people to do what he wanted).
The walk through the river was short and far from beautiful.
Thx for the reaction.
The shouting was not cause someone left the path, based on your answer i feel that the shouting happens more than once.
Nikos was agitated and it happens not once during the trip! So looking for excuses is not a solution

This tour was a crazy but awesome experience! It takes a couple of minutes to get used to Nikos, but he is the perfect guide. He tries his best to give everyone a pleasant experience. The first part of the day is active with a small hike trough a beautiful part of Rhodes followed by a relaxt part at a beautiful lake. The day is full of surprises, with as a high a special surprise from Nikos for my girlfriend and I, which we will never forget!

Absolutely amazing trip out into parts of Rhodes you would never see without a guide and what a guide, possibly the funniest man on the island.

We had the best time! Organization was great and Nikos was very kind. This was an experience we will not forget soon.
Castle of the Old Town is an impressive 500-year-old fortress that retains most of its original fortifications. It is open to the public on weekdays and can be explored on foot, giving visitors a sense of its sheer size.
The Kahal Kadosh Shalom Synagogue is one of the oldest synagogues in Greece and is still in use today. It is a Sephardic synagogue located in the Jewish Quarter of Rhodes Old Town and is very unique and worth visiting.
I went here specifically to read the names of the deported Jews during the Holocaust. A difficult task emotionally each person deserves to be remembered. The shocking difference between visiting a war cemetery and a Holocaust memorial is you seldom see family names repeated on headstones whereas a Holocaust memorial is entirely family names. Entire families men, women and children wiped from existence. If anything take the time to read one family of names. Time well spent, never forget!
Brad Blois — Google review
Definitely worth visiting. Very reasonable entrance fee. So informative with several interesting stories. Some of the stories are very sad, but they need to be heard. I would recommend this to everyone visiting Rhodes. Also there is a nice little gift shop with reasonably priced things.

Nice and interesting but way too expensive at 6€ per person compared to everything else you can visit in Rhodes old town.
Isabelle Cosar — Google review
the Kahal Shalom Synagogue, a site of immense historical and cultural importance located in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Rhodes. Built in 1577, this is the oldest synagogue in Greece and one of the oldest in Europe, serving as a living testament to the once-thriving Sephardic Jewish community of Rhodes.
**Architectural Features**
The synagogue's design is a blend of Sephardic and Ottoman influences, evident in its unique layout and ornamentation. The structure houses a central bimah (podium) and is adorned with beautiful stone arches. The wooden Ehal, or Torah ark, is a significant feature, intricately crafted and adorned.
**Historical Context**
Rhodes had a vibrant Jewish community for centuries, and the Kahal Shalom Synagogue was at its spiritual and communal heart. However, the community was decimated during World War II, when the majority were deported to Auschwitz. The synagogue thus stands as a monument not just to religious practice, but also to memory and resilience.
**Museum and Memorial**
Adjoining the synagogue is a small but impactful Jewish Museum, displaying a collection of photographs, ritual objects, and artifacts that trace the history and customs of the Jewish community in Rhodes. There's also a poignant Holocaust memorial within the synagogue's courtyard, honoring those who were lost.
**Cultural Importance**
Today, the synagogue is no longer a regularly functioning house of worship due to the small size of the current Jewish community. However, it is often opened for special ceremonies, cultural events, and educational tours.
**Visitor Information**
The site is open to visitors, and there's a modest admission fee that goes toward maintenance and educational efforts. Photography is usually permitted, but it's always good to check the latest visitor guidelines. Spending an hour or so here will give you ample time to explore the synagogue and the adjoining museum.
**Nearby Attractions**
The Kahal Shalom Synagogue is within walking distance of other significant landmarks in the Old City, including the Grand Master’s Palace, making it an integral part of any historical tour of Rhodes.
I hope this tour stop enriches your understanding of the diverse cultural tapestry of Rhodes and the Sephardic Jewish legacy that is so poignantly encapsulated here. Thank you for your visit, and please take your time to absorb the depth of history that this site offers.

The synagogue in the old city of Rhodes
The synagogue is also a museum of Judaism in Rhodes.
Entrance to the synagogue and museum costs 4 euros.
The entrance is in a side alley until you reach it you don't see the place, so enter and walk until you reach it.
The synagogue is in excellent condition.
The Ark of the Covenant, bulbs and seats are in excellent condition, so you can get a full impression of the Judaism that was there.
A well-kept patio and a small museum that describes the history of the Jews in Rhodes.
Itzik levy (Izikl) — Google review
A quite superb museum attached to the only remaining synagogue in Rhodes.
The museum collection itself is wonderfully put together with a lot of love and attention, it is also hugely moving. I learned a tremendous amount about Jewish life and also what makes the Jewish community on Rhodes unique. There is a lot of written information but also a free app available if you prefer your info in audio form. Entrance to the synagogue and museum was €6pp and was worth every cent.
For me, the best museum we visited in Rhodes city.

Incredible place and the most important - incredible people working here.
We got private tour by Isaak, descendant of Jews from Rhodos, whose mother survived Auschwitz.
And we also met Sami Modiano, survivor of Auschwitz who is now 92 years old, living in italy, but coming each year to Rhodos to tell his story.

The “Kahal Shalom” is the oldest synagogue in Greece, and the sole remaining Jewish synagogue on Rhodes used for services. There was once six synagogues in the Jewish Quarter (called “La Juderia”). The “Kahal Shalom” was built in the year 1577.

Akbük is a beautiful beach with wonderful views and definitely gorgeous sea and mountain. You can swim in every shade of green and blue in a few strokes. Very kid friendly, Nice restaurants and cafes for food and drinks. Heated showers is a big winner.People camp there too which cost 15 usd-50 usd for tend and it will be cheaper if we have our own tend.since its a seasonal operating place during summer june-sep I think the things are little expensive so its better to buy the stuffs before going there . mini bus available from mugla bus station and akyaka which cost around 3 - 5 usd suggested to have a day trip to enjoy the serenity of beach .

I had a good experience in akbük but i heard that it used to be more relaxing and beautiful over there but now its too crowded and not that good if you just want to chill out.
There's a beautiful forest there too but the fire department won't let you camp there unfortunately. And if you want to camp you either should find a place before actually getting to akbük or you have to camp in the campsites which are too crowded and in my opinion awful ! And overpriced

The water is amazing and worth a visit. There are a few small open air places that will serve you food and drinks. Paid 10try to park but worth every penny to swim in these waters. The beach is small but they sell chairs and umbrellas if needed but you dont come here to sit on the beach. I wish i had diving equipment with me.
İçmeler Beach is a beautiful public beach with stunning views of rocky hills covered in pine forests. While the water is clean, there have been some reports of litter on the beach. However, amenities such as changing cabins and showers are available. It's a quieter alternative to Marmaris Beach, offering a better view and fewer boats. Visitors can rent sun loungers and umbrellas for a fee and enjoy various water sports in the crystal-clear sea.
This beach is ery close to Marmaris and for those tired of their hotel beach I would recommend this place. It is a bit more quiet with less boats etc and it has a little bit better view than Marmaris beach.
You can also find a lot of restaurants on the beach, mostly stand alone ones that are not a part of any hotel, check the reviews before choosing a place

Very nice public beach in Içmeler. The surroundings are just to die for, rocky steep hills covered in pine forests. Water was clean but not turquoise and the beach does not receive 5 stars because there was trash here and there, cigarette butts, bottle caps and so on even though there were plenty of trash bins all over the place. Of course people can be jerks and throw their stuff on the beach but this does not mean there shouldn't be a cleaning service. There are changing cabins and showers. I think this beach is far better than the public beach in Marmaris.

Sandy beach which is very strong point. Price for 2 beds is around 300 lira but if you order something from the bar it's free. That means if you order 2 coke then you pay 120 lira and have a bed. I give only 3 stars because water was so dirty. I don't know if I came in wrong time but we wanted to swim and see a fish but we couldn't see anything through this dirty water.

The beach at Icmeler offers a clean and crystal-clear sea. It is possible to rent sun loungers and umbrellas for a fee of around 150 TL per person. Marmaris Public Beach, located in the heart of Marmaris, offers a beautiful setting with views of lush green hills and the sea. The beach provides essential amenities such as toilets, showers, and changing cabins. While the sand is mostly dry clay and not fine white sand, visitors can still enjoy the serene atmosphere and watch giant cruise ships passing by. The beach also boasts excellent facilities including showers, changing areas, and toilets.
Came here mid November we were fortunate enough to have lovely weather for a couple days, the beach is clean and if you sit near one the the restaurants or bars they allow you to use the Sun Loungers and give you free WiFi providing you purchase a drink from them.

The sand is brown ,it's kind of dry clay in most of the parts, don't expect white fine sand. The sea is brown as well, if you go to the deep part it can be a little bit more clear. If you want to go snorkeling ,that's isn't the beach ,go to Turunç, Turunç is amazing.
Marmaris beach facilities are spectacular, showers everywhere, places to get changed and toilets. Amazing facilities.

Lovely beach with warm water and plenty of sun beds. The water is more clear in the morning. You also can find plenty of companies with water sports like sky jets never pay the price they asking always negotiate. The water is not deep so is good for children. Also restaurants as one after one.

A sandy beach stretches on the part of the coast of Marmaris and belongs to the municipality, it is crowded most of the time in the morning and evening, there are public sanitary facilities and places for changing clothes, as well as places for bathing and washing the body after going to the sea. There is a nearby park that has children's games.

I've got to be honest here, you can't really give this a title of a beach, it's far from that. It's like grit or builders sand, it's awful. The only reason I didn't give it less is because the sea is amazing, it's warm and very pleasant to swim and bathe in.

In the heart of Marmaris, Turkey, lies Youth Square, a vibrant plaza that replaced a dilapidated building. At the center of this square is the Dancing Fountain, featuring two basins that come to life with an automated light and music show at 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm during peak season. What appears as a serene fountain during the day transforms into a lively hub for music and entertainment at night.

Setur Netsel Marmaris Marina is a stunning and popular attraction in Marmaris. The marina is surrounded by picturesque mountains, offering a beautiful setting for leisurely walks along the esplanade. Colorful boats with Turkish flags line the clear blue waters, creating a charming atmosphere. The walkways are adorned with flower beds, fountains, and sculptures, while an array of bars, restaurants, and shops provide ample entertainment options.
Marmaris Marina is a stunning waterfront destination that captivates visitors with its beauty and charm. The marina boasts a picturesque setting, surrounded by azure waters and lush greenery, creating a serene oasis in the heart of the city. Strolling along the promenade, visitors can admire the luxury yachts and sailboats, adding to the glamorous atmosphere. The marina is also home to a variety of cafes, restaurants, and shops, offering something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you're taking a leisurely walk, enjoying a meal with a view, or simply soaking in the tranquil ambiance, Marmaris Marina is a must-visit destination in Turkey.

Very unfair and unprofessional business of a pool owner in the Marina - no any discount for late coming guests. You have to pay 6 euros even if you came 10 minutes before closing. Such a greedy approach is a disgrace to Turkish hospitality.
Peter Soldatkin — Google review
The most dishonest marina I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I paid $7000CAD for a 3 month contract to sell my boat with an agreement that they would refund balance when the boat sold minus 25%. I sold the boat after one month (off peak season) and had 2 months which should have been refunded (peak season prices) they changed the numbers as they saw fit and refunded me only $700CAD for the 2 months at peak season prices. DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING THEY SAY AND SETUR WILL NOT BACK YOU UP EVEN IF YOU HAVE AN ANNUAL CONTRACT. I would recommend only to my worst enemies.

not a bad place to walk in the evening
Veniamin Yulin — Google review
It used to be very nice and friendly, in the last two years prices have become unreasonable.
Let me explain: first of all is very noisy at night (both from night clubs but also fron other boats partying) but the worst thing is the high speed powerboats entering or leaving the marina. So once in while unexpected waves come out of the blue.
Additionally the behavior of certain staff + the refusal to speak English has become funny!
There is a rule in marketing called "willingness to pay", i don't mind the higher BUT downgrading the quality of your services is serious.

Very nice well designed place with whatever a sailor can need such as warm water, every time clean big spaced toilets with hair dryer. Similar to its counterpart in Fethiye. The mooring fees are ok. If you dont leave by 8 AM you will get charged more. Departure at 11 AM will cost you more. Great marina right in the city, with good proposals in prices specifically for the small boats.
All paths and pantones are accessible and comfortable to move around.
The only one minus is a veeery narrow path for the boats to moore.. just toooo tight.
And, as you may guess its quite noisy at nights from the resraurants along the harbour.. but thats the price of being in the city.

The water is very clean and clear so that you can see fishes through the very deep water. Boats are for 12 people and the short trip takes about half an hour. The prices of the trips varies from 11$ to 13 $ depending on routes.

This review is for the river it self. Unbelievable. Never seen anything so natural and amazing. Cristal clear water with incredibly beautiful see weed and fish. A natural aquarium. The boats take you for a tour for very reasonable price.

The river and surrounding ambience is phenomenal. One should really need to hop on a boat and enjoy the slow ride with tremendous scenery. However, I suggest you pack your meal, even get your drinking water with you. The restaurants are below average, sometimes far from edible and truly undeservingly expensive.

It's a very nice beach with a nice beachfront restaurant. It's also a nesting place for Loggerhead Turtles and each nest is marked off for safety of the eggs. The beach also closes after sunset and no lights or loud music is allowed. It has won many awards for responsible eco tourism. Recommended!

I loved the place and wanted to stay for at least couple of hours, but we left within 20 minutes because many people brought their dogs and let the dogs wander around, and the dogs were "attacking" people, wether the dogs were attacking or playing with people, we couldn't stay and enjoy the sea.
Its worth mentioning that the entrance to the beach has a sign stating that dogs are prohibited in the beach

İztuzu Beach is a beautiful, 4.5 km long sand beach near Dalyan in southwestern Turkey. It is one of the main breeding grounds for Caretta Caretta turtles and is therefore referred as the Turtle beach. These turtles are on the list of endangered animals. Although it was were nice boat trip and it is beautiful beach and place to see, I think it should be forbidden for tourists to come there and it is essential to preserve this place and preserve the turtles reproduction without stress of human interaction.
Suzana Marini? — Google review
I liked this beach a lot. The fee is not that much (2€ per car, no matter how many people are inside it), there are public toilets and showers (with cold, salty water) and the beach is clean. The water doesn't get deep enough for swimming for more than 50meters which makes it ideally for kids. You can also visit the Turtle Hospital (which is located close to the entrance). There is also shadow under some pine trees, but if you arrive after 10am most probably you will find it already occupied. At times it gets very windy. The restaurant inside has reasonable prices.

Beautiful, it is where the turtles go to lay their eggs. The surf is calm, the water is clear, the beach is clean. Lovely part of the world.

Beautiful beach and we were lucky we saw the turtles, the ride on the boat thro the river is stunning. You sail thro the reeds and see the burial caves. One not to miss.

Beautiful unspoilt beach that is home to nesting loggerhead turtles- a quick visit to the turtle sanctuary is worth a look, it's small but the work they do is great.

Nice place. When we went it was free but I think you would pay in season. Can't camp here. Beach is clean and had all facilities.
Visit the injured turtle hospital. This is free, they provide a really nice description of the work carried out and you can donate or buy some merchandise.

One of the best beaches in Turkey. 5 km white sand beach, have places on sun beds and authentic places with no people. Fall in love with this beach
Yulia Shaleyko — Google review
A perfectly clean beach with the perfect view and settings all around.
You can reach this beach via small boats that are always available.
The beach coast is very long, it won't appear crowded as much as crowded as it gets.
The water is crystal clear and the sand and water are both clean there are even sea turtles!
You can rent 2 small beach beds at 80 T.L as well or you can simply grab ur towel and sit near the water on the sand.
A great way to spend your day where you will enjoy ur time during the boat trip and see some old sculptures kn the mountains which were apparently old graves and enjoy ur time at the beach as well ⛱.
Those are photos on our way. And only 1 *with added stickers to cover up some ppl* when we reached as we were short on time.

The beautiful sandy beach was worth driving 1,5h from Marmaris. Plenty of space and shallow, clear warm water. The sea can be a bit rough but it only gives more fun. The car fee is only 50 TL and then 50TL for sunbeds...bud because there are so many people coming and leaving there's a good chance you will get sunbeds for free. There's a cheap bar with showers and changing rooms.
Arek Cyman — Google review
Just an all round stunning place. Lovely sandy beach, amazing views, parking and the facilities including beach bar/ restaurant, changing rooms and toilets.
There is a turtle rescue on the plot which is free and worth a visit too. We drove from marmaris in about 90 mins and was well worth the drive.
Nick Hughes — Google review
My favorite beach in Turkey, a national park and a turtle nesting place, with a small museum/hospital near the entrance where they fix wounded turtles. Huge, pristine stretch of sand between the sea and the river estuary. You can take a public taxi boat from Dalyan for 30 tl per person both ways, about one hour spectacular ride through the reeds, the last boat back to Dalyan leaves at 5 pm.
Kaunos, an ancient city established in the 9th century BC, was a significant Carian settlement by 400 BC, reflecting the cultural aspects of both Lycia and Caria. It comprises various structures including tombs carved into mountainsides. The well-preserved theatre on the left as you enter offers an impressive view of the surrounding countryside while remnants of acropolis exist on the hill above it.
Great place the history of this place is great the stones are still standing as well as the other ruins. It can get very hot as the place is very open so would advise plenty of water and a hat.
WattoPhotos — Google review
Fascinating ancient area with 2.5 thousand year old tombs carved into solid cliff rockface. Then there are the ruins, particularly the amphitheatre with a magnificent view of the Mediterranean.
Peter Zeegers — Google review
Access to the site is terrible, the paths are not really at all maintained. Very few information on the site, but the whole ruin is pretty good, on top of a hill, and a whole fortress high up with a wall that circles another hill.
Theatre is pretty well preserved, you can still see the donkey show!

Lovely walk up from the river. The ongoing excavation is uncovering more of this fascinating place. Watch out for the tortoises as well. Great views from here

Excellent archaeological site. Lots to see and it's in great condition. You can get a rowboat from the Dock and its 40lira for 2 people. (You only need to pay to cross there, its free on the way back, but do leave the ladies a tip) the walk itself is not a hard walk, it is hilly, best to walk on a morning as its cooler, also the site itself is open air ofcourse so it gets super hot up there.
You can walk to the Fort at the top of the mountain but it's not for the faint of heart.
The Amphiteatre is amazing and the views from the top of this is unmatched.

A must visit if you are in the area. History all around you and stunning views also.

Visited in late August 2021. Took ferry (with car - 23TL each way) from Dalyan ferribot and then drove the 1.5km to the site. You can also drive around (90 mins), or go as a foot passenger. Not much parking but enough. Wear trainers. Small shop inside if want to buy drinks/snacks. Enough shade if hot. Allow about 90 mins to explore. A few information boards in English too. Great photo opportunities. You get a real sense of antiquity.

Very good experience. It was very convenient to have a ferry that took us across from dalyan to the Kaunos side. Kaunos is kept clean, very well maintained and pleasant to explore.

Great place to visit nice walk to get to it there is a bit of a hill but it's at the very top of a mountain
jb657 — Google review
A nice place to visit for sure. The best way how to reach it is via a tiny ferry boat from Dalian that is super cheap (around 2€ for a car). You will pay cash.
The site itself is nice but there are few annoyances here. Firstly you can’t pay entrance by card and there is no ATM around unless you use the ferry again to get back to Dalian, so have some cash with you. You will pay some 2€ per person.
Luckily the nice gentleman behind the counter let us pay in EUR so we could enter.
You can however pay by card right next to the entrance where they serve refreshments. Prices are quite high for Turkish standards, but if you have the Turkish Museum card you will get 50% discount on coffee or tea.
The site is quite vast but many places are next to impossible to reach. Acropolis is on the top of the hill (as always) with quite steep climb. That’s of course expected, but probably because not many people decided to climb there you will most likely not find any clear path up. We attempted it anyway, but we failed to reach it.
At the time of our visit the site was crawling with all sorts of animals which was about the best highlight. We saw turtles, snakes, lizards and many sheep.
I am probably spoiled by Turkey already, but this was one of the less interesting sites for me with not so detailed information available on the boards, but higher prices. Paths were not too clearly marked.
Nice small place to visit if you are in vicinity for sure.
Vilém Fabiánek — Google review
Great archaeological site loads to see and is much bigger than the impression you get when you arrive. you need 3 hrs to get a goid look round. it's excellent value as admission is about £1.65. There are toilets on site and you can buy drinks too.

Ruins about 20 minutes walk from Dalyan centre, on the other side of the river. We used the little rowing boat service to cross. Walk past the tombs and follow the signs for about 2km. Cheap entry ticket and very quiet in mid September. Lots of explanation boards in English. It can get very hot here and there is not much shelter so bring lots of water, the little cafe seems to have just a machine (we didn't go in).
Very interesting site with a mix of complete ruins such as the amphitheatre, ruined ruins and partially reconstructed parts to give a doctor of how it looked. We walked back and crossed the river using the car ferry and walked on the town side back to town.

So interesting, a step back in time. Donkeys on the side of the road and a family owned business on the way up the road to the top. Fresh honey and lots of essential oils.
Susan G. — Google review
So much to see. We should have arranged longer than the one hour we had arranged but will be back to do it justice. There were a couple of areas not accessable due to reconstruction but this had little impact on our appreciation of what was before us. We were fortunate enough to get there early, so crowds were minimal but I expect even at peak viewing crowds would be tollerable. A hidden gem that benefits from minimal publicity.

Personnel very helpful and welcoming. There is a mini market for some refreshments. Astonishing view from the theatre.
Dalyan canal, (Dalyan Strait) , is a stream that carries the waters of Köyceğiz Lake to the sea , located in the province of Muğla , and is the lake's conduit . Its length is 10 km. The waters coming out of the lake reach the sea by drawing meanders. Approximately the last 5 km of Dalyan flows within the Dalyan Delta. To the east of the Dalyan canal, the town of Dalyan in the Ortaca district is established. The area is within the borders of the Köyceğiz-Dalyan Special Environmental Protection Area , which was the first in Turkey in 1988.

Dalyan is a settlement situated along the Dalyan River, inland from the southwest coast of Turkey. Opposite to the town lies Kaunos, an ancient city in ruins featuring Lycian rock tombs and remnants of a theater. Boats sail across the river connecting Dalyan with İztuzu Beach which houses nesting habitats for safeguarded loggerhead turtles.

The Aphrodisias Ancient City Museum, established in 1979, showcases recovered artifacts from the historic Greek city of Aphrodisias. Located in a remote Anatolian region, this site encompasses vast expanses and beautiful natural surroundings such as Roman poplars, green fields and chirping birds. It was added to UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2017 for its grandeur and scale.
Superlative experience in a quite unpopular site. Came here too late in the afternoon so i had to find a place for the night: some men at the nearby village çay evi kindly drove me back to Karacasu where they gave me a free room at the municipality guest house. The following morning i hitchhiked to here and spent 4 hours exploring both the internal museum and the excavations. Really charming.
A man asked me if i would like some sexual stuff while i was walking around the ruins and this has been the only time someone asked me in an open air museum. Maybe the name of the site makes it regular.
Left and hitchhiked 2 cars to Denizli, met my Couchsurfing host.
You can find my timelapse along the whole area in the video section.

By far the best ancient ruins we have seen in Turkey. We’ve visited a lot on the west coast and there are a few reasons why this was our favorite:
1) no hoards of tourists. There were relatively few people here which was strange because there are so many beautiful things to see.
2) much of the ruins are intact
3) the marble features are the most well preserved and well known in the area dating back to the ancient times. The amphitheater, the arena and the baths are absolutely stunning and huge!
4) entrance fee was cheap compared to all the other ancient ruins
5) the museum has phenomenal works of marble art so well preserved
The only down side to this area is there isn’t a place to eat. There’s a place to buy water, ice cream and some sweets but that is all. Overall it was phenomenal and a must see.

Beautiful ancient city. The temple of Aphrodite was stunning. It's very easy to spend a whole day here and not do the site justice. More tourists should come here.

An incredible site that features some of the most beautiful marble carving, a sprawling ancient metropolis to explore, and well-preserved antiquities spanning a broad cross-section of history and culture. The Anatolians, Carians, and Romans were all here, and left their mark! One can immediately see why the Hellenes referred to the local goddess as Aphrodite, because this place is lush, fertile, beautiful, and magical-feeling. One of my favorite historic sites! I’ll be back again and again.

Beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. We went in December and everything was closed. We found one hotel parking lot opened that you have to pay 40 TL to park. We drove the entire lake looking for a restaurant open but found none. I imagine in the summer, this place may be crowded. The lake has beautiful turquoise water around the edge. When entering Salda Lake into Google, it took us to a spot on the road with information, in the curve of a road; be careful. Very difficult to pull up to the lake.

Salda lake is such an experience. The sand is like clay, you can apply it on your body however the locals say it is prohibited. It’s more of a preserved beach and not so touristic. The water is so cold because it’s not in the city. It’s on the way to Pammukale. Loved it. They also have shower and changing rooms. It’s just perfect.

It's one of those stops that should be missed on you way to Pamukkale. It's still under development but worth visit. Best place to park your car is to go to Salda Gölü Orman Plajı and make it your map target, we couldn't find path to the lake though Salda Lake direction.

A great place hidden in Western Turkey, it is not so touristy. Most of the locals visit this place and they feel like this place as Turkey maldives. It's an amazing place to relax and picnic, half a day is enough. There is a camping space, the advantage is also that it is a little cleaner than other areas and I am not sure about the safety.
Such a beautiful place, such clear water!! Breath taking. great for photos and a very memorable place.

Nice break im between driving and stopped here for 15-30 min.

A place of wonder! The Turkish Maldives- transformed into the so-called name Saldives :) A destination to be in your bucket list of “Must visit places in Turkiye”
In the midst of fall 2022, specifically in October, I had the chance to discover this wonderful lake.
The lake area covers 4,370 hectares, and its depth reaches 196 meters, making it one of the deeper lakes in Turkey, if not the deepest. The lake sedimentary records show high resolution climate changes that are related to solar variability during the last millennium.
The lake is a popular excursion spot for people across the region or from beyond, the more so due to the hydromagnesite mineral found in its coastal waters, which is believed to offer remedies for certain dermatological diseases. The shorelines, surrounded by black pine forests, are also popular among hunters, the game and the fowl available including quails, hares, foxes, boars and wild ducks, aside from the lake's fish. White sandy beaches, limpid water and seven crystal-white islets within the lake complete the scenery.
Its peculiar morphology has led to a number of academic studies conducted on Lake Salda. The unusual alkaline nature of the lake means that is one of the few locations where ancient stromatolite algae still grows.
You can drive past Doğanbaba and get downhill to reach the lake. There is an outdoor/indoor place to fill your stomach with some sandwich or a nice Turkish breakfast.
Puppies are all over the place. So cute and playful which give you a great energy of existence. They fight with each other as a play, and not hard to catch to pat and feed.

What a serene spot! White sand with different shades of blue. We were the only tourist at this time of October. But was not prepared with so much cold and windy weather. Some aquatic birds were also there like gulls, tufted duck, common pochard etc.
