Office de Tourisme & des Congrès Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole
The Office de Tourisme & des Congrès Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole is a valuable resource for visitors to Montpellier. Located on the east end of Place de la Comedie, it offers a 10-ride ticket for the local tram system and provides helpful navigation tips. The staff, including Elisabetta and Giovanni, are praised for their kindness and assistance in transportation needs and excursion suggestions.
Really a nice place, filled with sweet people. We came with no other expectations than learn what were the places to see around. The man in the office immediately gave us a map, where he pointed out the different attractions the city has to offer. Circling with a pen everything on the map while giving a brief summary of what to see there. He even told us about where to eat in the old city. Nothing to complain about concerning the staff, and the office itself was well-located, visible from afar and indicated by a lot of signs.

Super nice staff! Maps and various goods. I expected a wider variety of postcards tho, you'll probably need to go to a regular souvenir store for those.
They have a nice small garden at the back you can relax on.

It was an utter pleasure to be assisted by Giovanni in my quest to discover Montpellier. Giovanni had an answer for each of my queries, even the silliest ones - such as those regarding the ducks. Through his guidance, I was able to explore, live and breathe the real Montpellier. Thank you again !

Really helpful resource for visitors to Montpellier. They helped us navigate the local tram system, gave us great suggestions on Montpellier excursion opportunities, and offered information on local educational resources. A special thank you to Elisabetta, who was so kind, patient and helpful in assisting us with our transportation needs and the SNCF website. She really helped us finalize our transportation needs, with a special focus on cost and time savings, which we truly appreciated.

Roquefort Société is a must-visit destination for cheese enthusiasts. Located just 10 minutes from the A25, this site offers an insightful tour of the caves where the famous Roquefort cheese is aged. The guided tour provides a detailed explanation of the cheese-making process and showcases the impressive tunnels where the cheese matures. While primarily conducted in French, English-speaking visitors can request printed English versions and receive assistance from bilingual guides.
I visited the caves this morning. The tour was excellent. It is all in French, but they provide a printed english version. The tour guide spoke English, if anyone needed any information, and was very pretty...so that helped. :)
Jeffrey Cumpsty — Google review
A paid visit to walk the caverns. Tour guide provided, but there is no English language guide, exclusively French. I guess that's the fault of none French speaking English folk. For English, and I guess every other nationality you are given a printed sheet and follow the guide into the darkness, not sure how you read the text. The caves themselves are fascinating, the work done in them is amazing, but the tour was such a disappointment. If they offered headsets and codes to pick up the tour story that would be so much better, would not recommend it as a must do.
Steven Pritchard — Google review
Just visited, 7.50e. If you are English and dont speak French, you are given a piece of paper with information on. When the guide is speaking it is dark so you cannot read. A head set would be far better for none French-speaking guests. The caves were different but stopping and starting having no idea what was said was a complete waste of time and money. We travelled 5 1/2 hours to specifically listen to the wonderful story of how this tasty cheese is made. I have never made a review in my life this is how dissatisfied and disappointed I am.
Kim PRITCHARD — Google review
Interesting to see the ancient caves however the only cheese making you will see is in the marketing video you watch at the beginning of the tour. I was looking forward to seeing cheese at different stages of production and ageing. You may possibly see a few cheeses in one of the rooms near the end of the tour. When you do reach the end other the tour you get to taste three cheeses. The shop sells cheese at quite infatuated prices and some expensive souvenirs are available. There is an exhibition of historical photos that are quite interesting too. The old souvenirs that are on display in a glass cabinet look far far better quality than there modern counterparts, its a shame they don't sell reproductions. In conclusion "Où est le fromage?"
John Ormrod — Google review
Tops! Best cheese, best caves. Our tour guide was wonderful and it was incredible to see the chilly caves and the wheels of cheese.
William Haun — Google review
Fantastic tour. You get a really good explanation of the art of cheese making in Roquefort
The caves are very cold ... about 10 degrees and there are stairs but our lovely guide made it all worthwhile.
It easy to find... about 10 minutes from the A25.
Exit through the boutique for a taste of the 3 styles the Society make

Interesting place! Unfortunately, the tour was only in French and we could not understand the niche. Except for the word Penicillin :) But the tunnels themselves and the place where the cheese matures are impressive and interesting enough.

You can access the tower and its orientation table (delicate spiral staircase) all year round, if the weather conditions allow it of course.
The snack bar and the weather forecast, on the other hand, are only open in fine weather. WE in mid-season, and 7 days a week in summer.
The weather exposure is interesting, it walks through the stone bowels of this valiant century-old building. Extensions to the south and west were created in 1996, very well integrated into the existing one.
New products every year for the weather exhibition.
The visit ends with the souvenir shop. To bring this unique place to life in France, I can only invite you to spend a few euros there, to support this unique place and the team of resident meteorologists :)

Nice to see the tallest bridge -336,4m- in the world. The best part is that you can see it from underneath. This gives you the best view of how tall it is. Absolutely amazing. There is also the possibility to have a guided tour.

Spectacular. Tallest bridge in the world (as measured by height of span). Worth taking a day out to visit it. It can be seen for miles. Be sure to drive both under and over. Also, be sure to visit the viewing point and visitor centre at the North end of the bridge. No pedestrian access. If you're bon the motorcycle, be ready for gusts.
Brian Kennan — Google review
A truly magnificent place. The drive from Montpellier is just over 1 hour. You don’t need to do the u-turn like google says, just past the bridge going north there is an exit to the visitor center. We recommend arriving early and walking the trail for picture perfect views of Millau, the bridge, and the visitor center. No food onsite, but bring a lunch or snack and enjoy at picnic tables with an amazing view.

antonietta morra — Google review
An exceptional cave. Difficult to convey how beautiful it is. The sloping railway takes you down to an area near the top of the cave. The tour requires you to walk on sloping and stepped paths to the floor of the cave and then back up to the train which returns you to the surface. Given it is cool in the cave, this isn't arduous for reasonably fit, mobile people, but for the elderly or infirm, the climb back up the steps - 2x a normal house stairs? - could be a challenge. The lighting is subtle and does highlight the stalactites and stalagmites along with all of the other deposited shapes. The sheer size of the cave is breathtaking and it takes a moment to comprehend what you are seeing as people on the floor of the cave look like small models. The guide speaks only french, written guides are available in other languages. The tour is slow with lots of stops where the guide explains what you are seeing. We don't speak French and didn't opt for a written guide, just looking was enough. This is the first time that I have seen stalactites that have small rim-pools on their sides and these make the stalactites seem almost plant like. There are places where the stalactites and stalagmites have joined and formed columns. There are also plenty of translucent curtain forms and lines of stalactites hanging from the roof. There is a wall that is covered with calcium forms that look like trees and animals. My words do a poor job of describing what you'll see if you visit. It really is worth seeing.
There are displays and a video explaining the discovery and history of the cave in a large visitor and ticket centre and there are people here that speak English, but I'm not sure what other languages they have. There is also a restaurant that serves meals and snacks along with lots of different drinks. The car park is large and I would expect this place is very busy in high season so book tickets on line to ensure you don't have a wasted visit. It is not a place that would be suitable for wheel chair users as a lot of the cave is accessed by stairs.
If you like a good cave, have an interest in geology or the natural world, then this is for you. The cave more than justifies the ticket price.

Possibly one of the most awe inspiring places we visited in France. Spectacular shapes created by Nature over thousands of years. Really worth a detour. We have seen many caves/grottes but this is very special due to the size of the cavern and the numerous of very high stalagmites!

Very impressive cave with stunning stalactites and stalagmites. Everyone was so in awe that even in the quite large group there was hardly any sound the first 15 minutes. I would have wished for a smaller group, it would have been easier to hear what the guide explains. But as a foreigner you even get a booklet in your language where you can read it all again. Nice light effects to tell the story, yet I wonder how exciting it must have been 100 years back to discover something like this!

(Translated by Google) Great discovery in speology at the Castelbouc cave. Really incredible for a first time, it's impressive. We descend in total darkness with very narrow access points where you have to crawl through cramped passages. But Fabien the instructor puts us at ease and makes us move forward with confidence. We did it with my wife and my 6 year old daughter, she loved it. Sublime cave where we spent 3 hours underground cut off from the world. Total disconnection.

A comfortable and fascinating 1 hour trip down the Gorge du Tarn starting at La Malene. Spectacular scenery with some interesting history from the boatman. At the and of the trip, we returned to La Malene on a mini-bus. Would certainly recommend.

Really gorgeous trip and scenery. Happy we could take our two dogs. One comment is that their is very limited English explanation even when we specifically requested this. But it did not harm the spectacular views.

Lovely refreshing swim in the river to cool down from the 36deg heat. Take your mosquito repellant and wear some flip-flops or old trainers if you go in the river as it's rocky in places.

Excellent trip down the gorge. Our guide told us so much about the history and biodiversity of the gorge, as well as the current threats and also management activities that are going well. Thank you Thomas you were an amazing boatman and guide.

RECOMMENDED: No use doing this yourself with a canoe. The flatboat follows the same route and is very relaxed. You can learn something about what you see. Some boatsmen can speak some English. Very nice views of the gorge walls seen from the water.

Awesome guide, awesome visit, worth the price, very cheap for what it is, did it around 6pm, we were alone on the river, the weather was not too hot, perfect activity to do. So much informations, advices and history. Thanks👌👍

Very enjoyable trip over the mini rapids and down the Tarn. Commentary in French, does say other languages too.
Stunning views of the Gorges from water level up, making you even more aware how tall the Gorges are.
Well worth the money. Discount if you visit other attractions in the area.

Really great way to learn lots about the Gorge. Our tour guide didn't speak any English but we were able to understand most of what he was saying anyway. The scenery is simply incredible and a great way to get postcard perfect photos.
An amazing place, we spent over 4 hours here with our 5 year old and 1 year old. Great for a hot day as there is lots of shade. Take a baby harness or backpack carrier instead of a pram, as although there are easier, pram-friendly paths, you miss out on some of the activities if you go on these. You can also borrow a backpack carrier from reception. Take a towel and change of clothes for the kids as there are plenty of opportunities to splash in water. It's a circular walk through a forest, along a river with climbing frames, art installations, interactive water play, swings, bridges and trampolines, for kids of all ages from toddler to teenage and the adults can join in too. A cafe, shop and ice cream kiosk are at the halfway point as well as a water trough to refill water bottles for free. There are lots of places to picnic if you have brought your own food too. Highly recommended.

What an amazing little village, perched on the edge of a massive canyon. I recommend the walk down into the canyon then the stroll back up the other side to the church. That is the finest example of Romanesque architecture I've seen in a very long time.

Absolutely lovely and a wonderful creation of nature! If you follow the three hiking paths, you get the best views into the canyon and to other points, worth the hike and easy to walk, just a bit steep here and there. Nice bars around, and for owners of a campervan, there is a free campervan- area closeby.
Near-wild habitat for wolves, for visits & scientific observation, plus woodland areas & a museum.

(Translated by Google) We really like coming to your place, you already know that.
However, allow us to give you constructive advice on the improvements to consider.
Installing an entrance hatch would be ideal because when you enter you have no place to put wet, dirty shoes or even clothes. And when we come to 5-8 people, it makes clothes!!!
Secondly, change the table in the living room, keep this format but find tables that have extensions in order to open them and be able to eat at 8 for example.
Otherwise RAS, and even a big plus for your Biathlon animation which we found very nice!!!
Oh, last thing, as there is no more hostel, put the reception room into service, with a working fireplace, great games, maybe a coffee machine or something similar so that we can enjoy it. in case of bad weather come and meet people around a game of cards or chess for example, but the fire is vital :)
Thank you and see you soon ....
(Original)

I wanted to thank you for your professionalism and impeccable customer service.
In fact, I bought my husband a knife a few years ago (2016 2017) and the tip of his knife broke. We returned the knife to see if the warranty would be covered. To our great surprise, customer service told us that the steel seemed to have a slight defect. So this slight doubt was in our favor. He had no obligation to tell us.
The knife came back to us as new, with the engraving that we had done at the time, without us having asked for anything.
These days, customer service and respect for it is so rare. So, once again thank you. We recommend your establishment.

Viaduc de Garabit is a 565-meter-long railway viaduct designed by Gustave Eiffel, known for the Eiffel Tower. This remarkable piece of 19th-century engineering spans the Truyère River and is held together by 600,000 rivets. Despite only two slow trains crossing it daily, the viaduct still stands as a nostalgic reminder of the old world. The location offers spectacular views and is worth a detour to admire its beautiful architecture.
Amazing construction.

We drove by accidentally on highway, and thought it looks so familiar to the famous bridge in film Cassandra Crossing. Googled it, confirmed! Only 2 trains pass over the viaduc each day now in very slow vitesse, which gives it a special nostalgic feeling of the old world. Effeil built it in 1884 and 5 years later he constructed the tower.

We have seen this from the highway last year, this year we were kayaking on the lake Truyère under the Viaduc de Garabit, amazing views up and around us.
2 hour of walk following the river, very well installed with many bridges crossing, “pic-nic”

Nice walk, in a very scenic area. The trail can use some maintenance, especially because it is paid. The end of the track was closed off so could not see the waterfall, which was a bit anti climatic. This was not mentioned at the start, where they were happy to collect your money. But overall a nice experience to do, also with kids.
W — Google review
There I was, standing in the middle of the Gorges de la Jordanne, pretty disappointed and disgusted. The young man behind the counter told me the walk was about 4 km and most people would do it in about 1,5 hours. What he didn't told me was that the last two checkpoints were closed and you couldn't see the spectacle, so you miss about 800m.
However I did see some spectacle, it were the customers not respecting nature and using toilet paper in the middle of the route, it made the "smell" of nature pretty disgusting too. It was too made up and there are alot of more beautiful Gorges out there.
Liked the idea though, just needs more cleaning, house rules and maybe some renovation.

A gorgeous 2 hour walk (approximately 4km return) along the river gorge with bridges installed to criss-cross from one side to the other at various places and picnic tables should you want to stop off for lunch.

We had reservations for 1:30 p.m. and we got the menu at 2:10 p.m. when those who had not reserved finished their lunches. I was disappointed 😞 with the trufade which was like the name very bland without any seasoning which was also missing on the tables. The service was so long that we left before dessert. Very disappointed for €19 per meal, the quality of service and food is not there. Fortunately, the panorama outside is magnificent.

The employees and the boss are adorable. This year we returned to the region with cousins and repeated the visit and the meal with as much pleasure as ever. We brought back “Salers” alcohol and also cheese (Salers and Cantal) which were simply delicious. Amazing Place! So so better than Zoo. Makes you appreciate animals in something close to freedom. They have space and great areas to live in. They look happy and you can actually see them. It's also great for kids and If you don't like to walk you can even take a train to go up which might be useful (but you might skip some animals along the way). The only downside is that it is uphill.

Great day out with lots to see. The layout is very spacious and open, but easy to get around with a buggy or wheelchair. The viewing platforms are great!! Up close and personel with the tigers!!
But....
1) None of the panels included English explanations.
2) The restaurant had no bread left at 13h30 so no sandwhichs and very limited alternative options???
3) No one available in the gift shop (18h00) to buy anything- which is a pity because they have nice little gifts for young children.

Unnamed Road, Jardin de l'archevêché, 18000 Bourges, France
I'll never travel to Paris without this trip planner again
Bourges Cathedral, erected in the late 12th century, boasts a remarkable design and features an extensive crypt that houses the burial site of Jean de Berry. The edifice's captivating architecture is comparable to that of Notre-Dame and there is no admission fee; visitors may make voluntary contributions towards lighting candles. The cathedral conserves some of the finest stained glass artwork, which can be examined closely to observe its layering techniques.
Art and architecture is mesmerising. Worth visiting the cathedral!

This medieval cathedral seems to rise out of nowhere as you turn the last corner upon approach. It's very hard to describe its beauty: not only its architecture is breathtaking but its stained glass are a superb masterpiece. We couldn't climb the tower, because we lacked the time, but we visited the crypt with a guided tour (the guided tour is compulsory to visit the crypt but it's worth every penny) and it was amazing. The guide gave us a detailed history of the cathedral and the works stored in the crypt. If you are in the region, this is a must-see.

Palais Jacques Coeur is a stunning 15th-century Gothic palace commissioned by the wealthy merchant and treasurer to King Charles VII, Jacques Coeur. This lavish residence predates the Renaissance chateaux of the Loire Valley but rivals them in elegance and opulence. The palace features intricate carvings, a galleried courtyard, spiral staircases, steamrooms, private apartments, servants' areas, and a treasure room.
Although I don't know much about architectural styles, I know about this palace that it fascinated me. The beauty of the facade of the inner courtyard simply takes your breath away. I went to visit it on a Thursday morning, I don't like it when it's crowded, I love to admire these beauties in peace. The price was €8. Although there is not much furniture in the palace rooms, it makes up for it with architectural details that are amazing. I couldn't wait to open the next door and be amazed by the beauty that surrounds me.

Exquisite palace, big and lavish. Unfortunately only sad thing is that you can see architecture and building materials but all the rooms are very empty, some places have a few furniture items, some only pictures of objects, so the space seems too unoccupied, other than that it is a marvel!

Wonderful building. Amazing medieval sculptures on the cheminees. Building is unfortunately empty, no painting or furniture, but definitely a must see in the area. Careful with opening hours, it is closed midday, you must arrive 40mn minimum before closure. They will not let you in with luggage. no locker is available. I left mine in the restaurant across the street.

Oz Tasman — Google review
A beautiful monument to visit and discover through a one hour guided tour. The Palace is huge and only a part of this rich house can be visited. Sculptures, wooden cellars, impressive xvii century murals, ancient floors... The particularity of this place is that it results in a mix of a lot of architecture styles. It's a rare example of civilian 'gothique flamboyant' in France. Really worth to enter, even if the streetside wall is already very well decorated and remarkable for its original stone sculptures.

This is a great stop for any wine-lovers visiting Sancerre - for 10 euros per adult you can explore the mini museum-like tour, which includes a 4D film, beautiful aromatic garden, and lots of well presented information about the wine making process. Afterwards, head up to the tasting room where your ticket price includes 3 samples of wine. You can even top up the tasting card if you want to try more (which we did!) There is also a great shop with some lovely art prints and gifts. The staff were very welcoming and able to speak brilliant English to complement my poor French! A worthwhile visit.
Charlotte Evans — Google review
A nice place to visit, with lots of information about the production of the wine but the wine tasting was a little disappointing - you buy coupons and insert them in a machine which automatically dispenses wine of your choice. You are very much left to yourself to do this. It would have been nice if someone was in this area to assist. There were only staff nearby who were working in the reception area.

Well after reading some of the reviews on here we were unsure whether to go into the visitor centre or not, we did and I’m so glad that we did, the couple at reception were very friendly and both spoke some english, they even arranged for us to have an English guide in the planetarium,
The planetarium itself was in two parts, the first with the guide giving us a little explanation in english, for the second part we were provided with audio headsets with English narration.
All in all a very well worth experience and good value.
Take note, no mobile phones or other wifi devices are allowed, we left ours in the car, there is no 3g4g signal anyway.

The route is logical, we start from the history of astronomy to arrive at the practical applications of the site's radio telescope. I particularly appreciated that there were no screens everywhere, yet it was modern and perfectly clear.
The guided tour is perfect for delving deeper into the visit, the guide was friendly, clear and took the time to explain and answer questions.
The planetarium session is worth it, however it does not provide precise information on the site, and could be seen in any other planetarium. We are well established to learn the basic notions of astronomy and we continue with a film. Please note, the 4:00 p.m. session was full on a Saturday, so it is better to have purchased your ticket in advance.

You can visit the site and take a seat in the planetarium to discover films for children and adults explaining the solar system in a fun way. You also currently have an exhibition on light. This place lacks visibility and advertising to attract more people, halfway between 3 departments.

Medieval castle once home to 1st Duke of Sully, with moat & park, plus tours of furnished interior.
The château is magnificent, it has been sympathetically renovated, with sumptuous furniture and decor of its period. The ceiling paintings and tapestries are amazing. We'll worth a visit if you are in the area.

Nice quaint chateau, loved that they had a video explaining about the history of the castle too, making English speaking goers like us be able to appreciate the place a lot more. Their explanations around also had many languages which was helpful.

Another beautiful castle along the Loire. With beautiful woods and possibilities to go for walks and have a picnic.

Beautiful castle. Restaured well. Wood of the roof repaired too, in good condition. Nice to walk around in the different chambers. Entrance price is 8 Euro per person. Price worth, we can advise this trip.

We've been to lots of castles during this years Road Trip through France, Belgium and The Netherlands. And this castle here is a really nice one.
Because we brought our Bulldog with and we also had more plans for the day, we just visited the park and the outside of the castle. It's a very picturesque castle. If you'd be asked to draw a castle, it would look something like this. Fairy Tale style. So it's a real looker. But it's not the biggest and most impressive we've came around. There have been more massive, more excessive examples. And the park / gardens here a quite small compared to other.
But for a visit when in the area it's stll recommandable. It's still a very beautiful piece of architecture with a very nice moat around it.

Not restored to boutique standards, but with more than enough history and artifacts to occupy a morning or a leisurely day. Not nearly as crowded as others.

It's what you would image a castle should look like, including a moat. The sun was shining and making for good photos today. The inside had many beautiful and interesting slights to see. There were many stairs to climb. So, if you have trouble walking up pie stairs, you might need to enjoy some of it inside and take pleasure in how beautiful it is on the outside. There were plenty of tapestries, furniture and paintings to view. The bedrooms were wonderful. When you go upstairs you can see how they constructed the roof. All and all it was a great time. I even ran out of charge to take more photos of the last rooms I visited. Also, the outside had some stunning sites for picture taking!

Spectacular I wish I had had the time to enter, however I walked around the surroundings and enjoyed the beauty. You can park your car free metres from the palace. Will definitely take the time to enter next time I visit.

Great visit! Was very cool to see a Chateau with a mote. The rooms are well decorated and have very informative info in the booklet and in the rooms, you can read as much or as little as you want. I loved it.

A really nice castle to visit! It's not huge as compare with some of the castle we visited in Paris, yet the castle is well maintained and provide you with enough inside and history of the place. The castle is not crowded at all, which gave you lots of time and space to slowly read through and learn more about the castle and it's history. I personally recommend you to visit the castle.

Cute little moated Château with a quick 45 minute circuit. They had English description placards in all the rooms, free parking, and nice facilities. I enjoyed it much more than some of the bigger castles in the area.

Well preserved, interesting history, worth a visit. They always organize exhibitions and regional events in the castle. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Very pleasant place.
