Such a beautiful Island! We went snorkelling, had lunch and explored the island. The food is a bit pricey but it’s understandable. For the beach we recommend water shoes as there are many urchins in the water and also a stoney beach. Worth a visit!
Leonie-Xenia Meyer — Google review
🏝A great island to visit. It's beautiful when it's not crowded and you'll enjoy both parts of the isle.
🥾So don't just walk to the first restaurant, but first have a walk on the left part of the island up to the lighthouse. Nature is beautiful, just like the lighthouse and the central building.
🩳On your way you'll discover beautiful small beaches. For some ridiculous reason people seem to like to gather together on the same main beach, just like sardines in a can. But the island has many other nice and small beaches you absolutely want to see!
🍽Just like at every touristic spot you'll have tourist rip offs and good restaurants. Our experience is those near the port aren't the best. You should walk towards the main square of the village and reserve a table at the 1st restaurant on your left.
☀️Be careful, it can be very hot in the afternoon in Tabarca. So leave early in the morning. Don't forget your suncream! The sun burns from 2 pm.
🚤You can go to Tabarca by boat from Alicante or Santa Pola. The trip is shorter if you take the boat in Santa Pola. Check the several options at the port. Speed boats are faster (15min) than the bigger ones. Just compare rates and their schedule! Many stop at 8:30 pm!

Espectacular!!

Spectacular!! I would visit the island again, we were delighted! it is beautiful !! There are a thousand things to do! I recommend going well prepared, with umbrellas ⛱️ because the sun lounger service is a bit expensive! But if you take your umbrella in any corner of the island you can put me on and have a great time !! Spectacular food!!!

A great day out, very clear and warm waters with a variety of swimming spots, great for snorkeling. Stayed on the main beach and felt safe leaving our bags (with non-valuable items), after seeing others do the same, while we explored the different swimming spots on the island

Those seeking to safely wander joyously wherever their curiosity guides them will enjoy all the colorfully quaint corners of lovely Tabarca. Every new turn opens on to a picturesque scene, reminding you to lose sense of time and join the slow, lazy pace of long hot summer days…

What an amazing little island lots of history, scenery and some nice little bars and shops too.
You get here by boat which doesn't take long and it was only 8 euros return and they run very frequent.

Beautiful island to spend the day, it also has the charm of being able to stay overnight, with a reservation in advance, and enjoy a dinner and night walk, it has a marine reserve, it is beautiful for diving and seeing many fish.
At night it is nice to walk without so many people, and see how the people who live there go out to the street to take in the fresh air sitting on the street. It has a lot of charm

Nice place to visit. On my perspective, not to stay overnight unless you have special activities to engage - the tourist tour can be covered in one day.
No sandy beaches, round stone mainly. However, the water is clean, warm, and transparent.
Bar / Restaurant offer is OK. Prices seemed a bit high. A small but nice art gallery may grab the visitor's attention.
Pedro Santos — Google review
Take a picnic. Visited first week of January with hundreds of other boat visitors and only one small fully booked restaurant open. Elsewhere no food. No drink. Encourages cannibalism on an island like this.
Reggie Tricker — Google review
Small but lovely island. Would definitely advise for tourists. It also seems that many locals visit this place for a swim in the ocean. Best times to visit is when they temperatures in the inland are off the roof. The island van easily be 3-5 cooler. The restaurants and cafes are very crowdy. Lots of fishes to be seen in the sea
Nicolai Salien — Google review
Such a beautiful island near our house. We rode a big boat from Santa Pola that costs us 10€ back and forth. There's a line of ticket booths in the port. They will give you a brochure to show the boat return times. It was a nice 25-minute ride. It can be super hot so don't forget to bring sun creams, hats and umbrella. We went around the island to see spots with few people because the main beach is packed. We ate at a nice restaurant with menu starting €18. Though we end up paying more than €100 for 4 persons. Costly like other islands. We didn't have a reservation but I suggest to have one as it can be full especially on weekends. There are small bars and restaurants and few stores for clothes and souvenirs. There's also an atm near the La Pecera. Also bring aqua shoes. Some beaches have stones and slippery. We will definitely go back.
Ana AG — Google review
What a stunning island! A must visit place if you are on holiday near Alicante and Santa Pola. Frequent boats from both to the island. It costs about €10 (return ticket) per person.
Crystal clear waters, great for snorkelling.
GURCAN GUNER — Google review
Such a wonderful island!!🏝️The water is so clear that you can spot fish as you swim up to the shore on a boat.🚤
Of course, there are a lot of visitors even on a weekday… but what can you do… it’s summer:)🏖️

Before or after season coolest and quietest place on earth. Perfect place to visit for nice and chilling walks
Mar Pich — Google review
Lovely day out via boat trip torrevieja . Lots of little cafes shops restaurants. Yes it's a small island so there is very limited shade so beware it will be very hot. Crystal clear sea lots of fish.
Passeig Esplanada d'Espanya is a renowned waterfront walkway that boasts of an impressive wave-designed mosaic trail flanked by palm trees on both sides. This famous promenade offers visitors a stunning view of the sea and provides ample space for leisurely walks or jogging. The tiled paving stones along the way are arranged in an eye-catching pattern, creating a beautiful and distinctive visual effect.

MACA, the Contemporary Art Museum of Alicante, is a modern museum that exhibits both permanent and temporary collections of 20th-century art. Housed in the historic Asegurada building, it features over 800 pieces of artwork divided into three collections: 20th-century works by artists such as Joan Miro and Salvador Dali; paintings and graphic works by Juana Frances; and various pieces by Eusebio Sempere ranging from gouaches on paper to sculptures.
The collection is great and the space is perfect for it. It’s free to visitors and the floor monitors are very nice (There are some moving pieces that are best left to the staff to move for you). Front desk staff seemed very nice too. They could make a killing with a gift shop, for which there is a sign but we failed to locate.
Barbara Biscardi — Google review
First of all, it's free entrance. It has 4 levels you can visit.
First floor (ground) has historical contemporary pieces explaining a bit about the evolution of art post-WWII era with abstractionism exampled by some exquisite pieces from the era.
Second floor (1st) and third floor (2nd) has some notable contemporary abstractionist art such as Salvador Dali and some amazing geometric pieces as well.
The final floor has exhibition tribute to Eusebio Sempere and his art evolution playing with lights and volume.
All in all a very interesting gallery.

Perspective. MACA is worth a visit. It’s spacious and provides an opportunity to stop and ponder. I’m always curious as to what criteria is used for selecting pieces? Do you know? Is it like most things in life ? It’s who you know?
Awesomely Aimless Adventures — Google review
A good place to learn about contemporary art of Alicante and Spain overall. The museum is free and has both temporary and permanent exhibitions. The first floor is dedicated to temporary exhibitions, while other three are full of art pieces by Spanish artists.
We were curious about this museum and overall our experience was very nice. However, it would be nice if taking photos was alowed.

Beautiful place with tasteful mind challenging pieces of modern art. Remember to also check out the changing exhibitions. With free admission, absolutely a no-brainer to visit here!

This is my favorite museum in Alicante. And to be honest, I was a bit surprised that I liked it so much. I've visited a few Contemporary Art Museums and I always left them with a feeling of disgust and misunderstanding. But MACA is so different. It's spacious, clean, tidy and the colors of the walls are a perfect background for the exhibits. My experience was beyond positive because the displayed pieces were very interesting, both the sculptures and the paintings. I found myself contemplating some of them, thinking about what was beyond and what motivated the artist to crest it. And I believe this is what contemporary art is supposed to do - to make you stop and wonder and think, without making you cringe and turn your head away. I felt so at peace there and liked the colors so much that I took two runs over my favorite pieces. This place is beautiful, please don't hesitate to visit, you'll not regret. And there are English translations!
Natalia P — Google review
More modern than contemporary
The setup really makes the art shines
The variety and quantity of pieces is really worth the (free) visit
I feel bad putting 4 stars but it is mainly sculptures and paintings, almost no videos or audios
Alexandre P. — Google review
Diversity of works, you will find movies, books, paintings, photos and much more. There's definitely a lot to see.
The staff is kind, and depending on the day and hour, there are guided tours. I had fun 😊

Visited this gallery whilst on holiday in Alicante, and it was a real revelation. Very interesting exhibition on the first floor exploring Spanish art pre and post WWII, some fascinating work on the second floor and then a specific floor dedicated to the founder of the gallery, Eusebio Sempere. I learned a lot and the supporting material was informative and offered in Spanish and English. Highly recommended.
Hugh Odling-Smee — Google review
Free entry. Small museum that’s a bit sparse on two of the three floors. Still worth a stop by.

Absolutely perfect experience. The museum is free and very quiet, so we roamed around the 4 floors of art without feeling under pressure. Beautiful pieces of artwork. The location is convenient: it’s next to the Basilica, and close to the Promenade. I have no complaints. I definitely recommend this to people interested in the world of art.

Great to visit as it is free.
It has plenty of open space and interesting work.
The work is contemporary, you will need an open mind.
Toilets are clean.
Museum light and comfortable.
Place to store bag, token given from reception.
There is a very special picture not to be missed whe my nyiu go th the toilets. It is enormous and incredibly mind bending.
It was my favourite piece as it comprisses of the world and it's overwhelming abilities to consume.

Most of the exhibits were really interesting apart from those which reflected light which I had to avoid to reduce the risk of triggering a migraine...

Surprisingly, The best museum in Alicante, it’s not so big, but some works presented here are really impressive (even Salvador Dali is here). You should definitely give it a try - entrance is free

Amazing paintings, sculptures and art installations. Lovely atmosphere, and free entrance!
Kameliya Demirova — Google review
Nice free gallery. Some nice hanging pieces, many questionable or uninteresting pieces. Wasn't overly impressed with content of gallery but I don't think we were pretentious enough for this place and got scowled at by the staff 😂 I'm sure that's on us however for having a chuckle at some of the random things people like to call art. We just went in to hide from the rain really. Wasn't blown away. Don't go in if you have a sense of humour.
Jessica Wilson (sheaf_foodies) — Google review
Space is smaller than other museums. What it lacks in space, it packs a punch with art pieces. Clean and beautifully executed. It's worth a visit if you're in Aliciente.
I used the lift to access the castle.
Its on the main road and easy to find. We went at lunch time which was quieter as it was hotter. There was no waiting for the lift. We were planning to go in the morning but there were a load of school kids waiting to enter. We did see posts about the lift being accessible in the evening and being free but when we walked by last night the door was closed after closing time of 8pm so dont think it is accessible
I paid €2.70 and had my 4 year old in a pushchair so didn't need to pay separately for her which was awesome. It is all very accessible and the staff very helpful. The toilets were very clean too.
My 4 year old loved the section on evil toys.
It is so worth the visit especially as it is free
Tanveer — Google review
We climbed up at 10 am. It was about a 15-20-minute walk, 170 m high up. Even then, it was already hot but still manageable. At 10.30 there was a guided tour in English, it was worth taking the tour. Only 3 of us took part in the tour, which was 1 hour long and free. Then, we walked around and took some photos. It was a nice way to find out more about the history of Alicante.

"Visiting Castle Santa Barbara in Alicante was an unforgettable experience! The panoramic views of Alicante and even glimpses of Benidorm from the top were absolutely breathtaking.
Ascending to the castle offers not just a historical journey but also a visual feast, with every step revealing more of the stunning landscape below. From the Mediterranean Sea stretching out to the horizon to the charming rooftops of Alicante's old town, every angle offers a new perspective.
The castle itself is steeped in history, and exploring its ancient walls and towers adds an extra layer of fascination to the visit. Whether you're a history buff or simply seeking a scenic spot to soak in the beauty of the region, Castle Santa Barbara is a must-visit destination."

Lift is open. €2.70 to go up. FREE to come down. We walked up and got the lift down.
FREE to walk around the castle with stunning views and cute little cafés.

Great experience , you can use the lift from seaside to get in but the best option for active peoples is to get there on your own .
Great place to visit. Nice views amd snack bar . Entrance is free.

To be honest I went up for the view and it didn’t disappoint me. If you’re in Alicante it a must visit. Pro tip, go there late afternoon to avoid the big queues for the lift.
Benjamin Kulcsar — Google review
At this place elevator is located. It costs 2.7 euro to use it both sides up and down. It's quite useful because you can also go on foot but it's exhausting. The place is absolutely amazing! The best views you can find in Alicante. No lines in the Morning but when I was going back in about 12am there were a huge line to get upstairs.
Mikhail Naskalau — Google review
It's great that this lift exists. Without that we would be unable to go to the castle as we were with two little kids. The drawback is that there is only one lift and the trip takes a while so there are queues. Beside that it's great.
Nevertheless if you can I would suggest you going by foot as it seemed like a nice trip with nice views and surroundings.
Rafa? Pydyniak — Google review
The castle lift is great, as are the staff. However, there are no leaflets giving the history of the castle, but there are a few plaques here and there. It seems that the views from the castle are the main feature. They are stunning. There are no facilities for those with limited mobility once you leave the lift. I still take all my visitors here tho.
Pauline Byrne Kennedy — Google review
We walked through Alicante and entered via a steep walkway at the rear of castle (main entrance is opposite beach via a lift and tunnel) that had some houses with pretty garden pot arrangements, walk was fairly difficult but views are good, good castle to walk & on our visit food and other stalls with some street entertainment,
toilets and a lovely viewing cafe.
Steve Furby — Google review
Explored this enchanting castle with a fantastic view – a visual treat! However, disappointed as the website claimed it's free, yet an unexpected fee was charged. Despite the queue, the beauty of the castle made it a worthwhile visit.
Nafiseh Salehi — Google review
This is a very interesting place, saturated with the history that goes back almost 2000 years. Besides the place will give you one of the kinds of views on the city and surrounding area. Absolutely breathtaking view. The only downside is that you might stay in line for the elevator on top and back if the place gets too crowded
Alex Serebrov — Google review
Really big castle on a high cliff. You can hike up or take the elevator from the beach (2.7€ per person - can pay with card). The castle visit is free and gives very nice viewpoints.

Absolutely stunning views all round from the top of the castle, stacks to see round the castle also. wheelchair access may be limited as there are some very steep places to walk.lots of places to get food and drink and there are toilet facilities scattered around..you can walk up the steps or take the lift up..the photo I put on with the blue lights on the ceiling is the tunnel you walk through from main road to the lift..

The best thing the city could have created 😄 an elevator takes you straight up to the fortress and down. During the day huge lines and it's quite hot up there. I would recommend to come around 6 pm - almost no line and enough time to explore everything.
Yulia Zinchyk — Google review
Horrible experience. It was a weekend in May, so not even high season, and there were only perhaps 20m of line to the elevator in the tunnel. Yet, due to a slow, tiny elevator (maybe 6 people + operator max) it took us almost 45min to get up. The walk alone to the end of the dark-ish tunnel (probably 300m or more) already made me wish I would've just walked up.
There's no kinds of regulations for entry and I saw some with huge luggages (taking the space of 1 person) or children's cart (2-3 persons). Couldn't these be left down for the time of the visit? This also a security issue.
Note that it's not free, but 2,7€. Card is accepted, not sure of cash. There are two machines to buy tickets with, but there's only one person who will "sell" you the ticket using it - so basically only one is in use at the time.
Overall, I recommend everyone physically capable to just walk up instead of wasting your time waiting for the elevator. Most of us could use the exercise, too.

A fantastic castle with a gorgeous view of Alicante. There is an elevator, however we made the choice to walk up and enjoy the scenery as we went. There isn't a ton of educational posts but this feels like a real working castle and not a museum.

The MARQ, also known as the Archaeological Museum of Alicante, offers an intriguing exploration of history through exhibits dedicated to Prehistory, Iberian Culture, Roman Culture and the Middle Ages. The museum showcases a wide range of archaeological discoveries dating back to 100,000 years ago with items such as Iberian ceramics, Roman daily life objects and over 300 artefacts from the Middle Ages. Alongside these displays are teachings on various archaeological techniques.
Medium-sized museum located in a very beautiful building that used to be a hospital. The interior design is also spectacular. There's an engaging permanent exhibition showing the history of Alicante and the whole region across ages. Low entry fee and the possibility to see a temporary exhibition on the same ticket is another plus. Be sure to check the room at the end of the corridor with a beautiful chandelier (see the photo attached). The only drawback is that only a small portion of the text is translated into English.

A marvellous day out to visit the Terracotta Army. A well laid out museum in the heart of the city. Easy to get to and find your way around. Most of the exhibits are multi-lingual which makes it really accessible.
We went mainly for the Terracotta Army exhibit but was really surprised to find a huge range of exhibits from the region ranging from ancient to modern history.
Throughly recommended!

This museum is amazing! Telling the story of the history of Alicante, the museum exhibits represent a time span of thousands of years. The first settlements in the Alicante area were made by Iberian tribes. Since then the area has been inhabited successively by Greeks, Romans, Muslims, and Christians. The Alicante Archaeological Museum is a modern museum that utilizes a lot of audio-visual effects - which really adds to the experience! Admission was only 3 Euros a person- a bargain to be sure. All of the employees were very friendly and helpful. There is a cafe on site, and clean restrooms. It's very easy to navigate the exhibits without a lot of walking that is typically related to visiting a museum. The museum won the European Museum of the Year Award in 2004, and this is a well deserved recognition.

We went to the musem in the morning and there weren't many people yet. Had a wonderful time, whoever designed this experience really knew what they were doing. Loved the colours, the projections and overall atmosphere. Tickets are purchased in a different building than the musem and there is also a restaurant and gift shop.

We went on a Friday evening when the museum had free entry. We waited for 25 minutes to enter. You can explore the whole museum within 30 minutes, there's not much to see there. This time they had exhibition about Chinese history. It was not my cup of tea.

We went specifically for the terracotta warriors exhibit. We were able to book an English speaking tour for one hour. The guide did a decent job. The exhibit had incredibly strict security and you couldn't navigate the exhibition at your own pace without a guide. As someone with a disability, I found this hard. I needed a seat which wasn't available until the end and prolonged standing was difficult. I don't really understand why you had to be with a guide all the time considering there were staff in each room to ensure all was well.
The warriors themselves were amazing, great info on each exhibit piece in multiple languages.

I don't want to ruin the items on display so just added a few photos. Really is worth a visit. We only walked past by chance. Go.

Visited to see the Terracotta Warriors exhibition. Excellent guided tour with very good spoken English. Before our timed tour slot we looked around the other permanent exhibits covering Spain from prehistoric time to the late 20th century. A very interesting day out.

I wasn't expecting to find such a gem in Alicante. The Museum is really great, well made, clean, great staff, and they put a tremendous amount of efforts to make it a super experience.
It is immersive and interactive, every detail is well thought, highly recommend it.

Here for the Terracotta Army Exhibition.
Only €5 for Adults & €3:for pensioners.
Fantastic exhibition and a lot more to see besides that.

Absolutely loved the museum!
There is so much to see. We booked to see the terracotta warriors, and that was fabulous. I wasn't really expecting much because of the price to go in, but I was really impressed. The exhibition exceeded my expectations, wasn't crowded, and had lots of information to read.
The rest of the museum is free and well worth a visit in its own right. We loved it.
Camille Duesbury — Google review
The exhibition of the Terracotta Soldiers was good and cool to see, it had some interesting other pieces and most display written information and descriptions were available in English. The QR codes with audio details, had no option for English translation however.
The main museum displays about the history of Alicante, had one line of English per display, with a paragraph of description in Spanish and all the little tags naming the display items had no translations so just be aware of that if your Spanish is limited - or be ready to use your smart phone for camera/live translations, which sort of worked but made moving around the displays very slow.
We arrived at after 12 noon, and tours in all languages had sold out, and we had to wait until 2pm before our ticket would allow us in. Time slots meant it wasn't crazy busy but the tour groups made areas very busy if you happen to enter a section the same time as them!

I never in my wildest dreams, imagined I ever would be able to see the Terracotta Warriors! However today, we visited the MARQ Museum in Alicante. An amazing experience and exhibition. Not to be missed. Very emotional. Very busy. A wonderful place to go.

Very many interesting objects, a very broad collection. Very impressive!
Unfortunately not very much written information in English, so if you don’t like google translate then this might not be that interesting. Although very much information in Spanish and Catalan.
If you want a guided tour, you should book tickets in advance.

This is a great museum to visit. It's not expensive.
Often they have a special exhibition which is a few euros more.
Special exhibition at present is items from the underground world of X'ian. China.
Well worth a visit.
Access is good for all people, disabled, wheelchair or in good health.
There is a place to eat.
Plenty of seats in and out, so if you're tired you can rest
Great for all the family. It's interesting and covers lots of various types of civilisation.
Lots of items on display, as ctive video.
Good gift shop.
Lockers for up to big rucksacks size, if you are in need of storage while looking around.

We visited while they had the terracotta army exposition on. We booked a guided tour in Spanish, the tour guide we had was very good and friendly. The museum is also very easy to get to by tram from el campello. There are toilets and a gift shop.

San Juan Beach is a stunningly white sand beach located in the center of Alicante. With public parking, areas for different sports, and perfect swimming conditions, San Juan Beach is perfect for everyone.
Very clean, enough space and enough fields for Beachvolleyball, toilets and changing rooms for clothes. Very children friendly cause the water is not so deep. Highly recommend this beach.

This is a very long beach which is therefore rarely busy. The area is one with few foreign tourists but this means it can be quiet in terms of activities. There are quite a few local restaurants and shops dotted around the area. The location will suit people who enjoy walking, cycling or watersports.

One of the best beaches in Alicante. Super clean water (no seaweed or algae), no annoying sellers, just fine sand. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. Would definitely come again! 💯

Beautiful beach, free courts to play beach volleyball. Public restrooms available. Playgrounds for kids: one is on the beach and one is on the ground for a very little once.
Free parking, cafe with a beautiful view 🏝️

The beach itself is very wide and super long.
You can walk all along.
You will find beach volley and other amenities.
However, I didn't like the high rise buildings they go along the beach

great beach, wide and sandy. the water is terrible, polluted with palm trees and disgusting ground. there is too shallow for swimming by the shore, so unfortunately you have to go deeper and walk over the algae.

What an amazing beach, the beach was practically empty. I would definitely recommend going to this beach. The water was clear, with great views of the mountain and is pretty clean and the beach promenade has a lot of places to sit

Extensive beach outside Alicante, easily reachable by bus (21/22) or tram (LINE 5, stops Av. Benidorm or Plaça de la Corunya) it is stunningly beautiful and is for good living. The high end part is Cabo de las Huertas, which is mainly residential but has a lot less restaurants. The mid part has a lot more in terms of shops/ amenities. For Spanish people it is a second residence place and not so far very cosmopolitan. That being said, we have adapted well to the local way of life.

Very nice beach 🏝️ good place to walk and enjoy the wonderful view. Lots of places to do daily training like running or just walk along the beach or socialize with friends or get know other people. Some others come here to play beach volleyball.
There are lots of amenities along the beach to help people get relaxed and enjoy their time, such as places to sit, wash hands or feet, signs that help you find your way and also lifeguards.

Very Well maintained and Big beach, with shallow and clear water. Due to its size people can spread out and you don't feel its over crowded. Also, you don't have beach sellers every other minute.
All fine sand, so little to no snorkeling opportunities (no rocks nor seaweed).
Has lots of volleyball fileds & nets for free.
Toilets, showers, changing cabins, shade zones, playgrounds and parking spaces along the way.
Lots of restaurants on the beach or the streets parallel to it.
One of if not the best beach of the country. If you are in the city and like to go to the beach, should definetly try it out.

Nice wide sand with clean water. During early November only a few people in the ocean water as it is getting chiller. But the sun is still burning, remember your sunscreen. Parking is free, but I came early so there were still lots of space left. Bathrooms were closed, we borrow from the restaurant nearby, they’re generous even we didn’t eat there. There are some people doing yoga, kids racing, dogs running, most people just sunbathing or walking on the coast, I saw a girl Stand up Paddle-boarding, but didn’t know if she brought the paddle herself or there are somewhere to rent? I really want to know though.

Fabulous beach, soft golden sand. Gently shelving sea, had a nice swim. Would be good for kids I think. Sun beds and umbrella 10 euros per person. Maybe a bit steep? We spent all day there though do felt it was worth it.

Safari Aitana in Alicante offers a unique safari experience where visitors can see animals like elephants, giraffes, and even swimming tigers up close. The park allows self-guided or group tours by car, with the option to book a private tour with a comfortable van and guide. Visitors are allowed to leave their cars at designated stops where staff members provide information about the animals. This safari park is not a typical zoo but rather an expansive space for a sensorial experience with wildlife.
We loved this place. Situated up in the mountains in what feels like the middle of nowhere, this is a chance to go on a driving safari and have the opportunity to get close to some of the animals. If you drive yourself you are allowed to get out of the car where you see a keeper and be close and they will give you talks about them. The wild cat enclosures have an electric fence so no particular chances of them jumping at the car etc for any concerned. Look out for cheeky Charlie the Zebra who decided to stick his head in the car and have a good nose much to the childrens amusement.
Some animals at the entrance area that you can walk around and see. Picnic area and restaurant. A very enjoyable day out in beautiful surroundings.
A note for driving there! We came from the direction of Villajoyosa. The last 35kms is up hill all the way on very windy mountain roads, past a reservoir and a couple of very pretty villages. Some very windy roads but lovely scenery. Make sure you have plenty of fuel!!
The last couple of kms, Google maps looses the plot a bit so when you see the sign for Safari Aitana take that exit, it IS correct even if you feel you are on the road to nowhere!

Great place, animals really well looked after and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The lions and tigers were majestic. A brilliant day out no matter how old you are! Make sure and take plenty water in your car though as it gets hot out there

Not a bad place but definitely animals need some more water and greenery. Hippos are being held in a place with practically no water. They are practically on a desert with very little trees or bushes.
The whole excursion is quite long, more than 2 hours. Good to take drinks and food with you, especially if you are going with kids.

This was an incredibly experience. We took a private tour and we were lucky that it was hosted by Laura. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about the park and the animals. Close contact and feeding of the large animals was unbelievable. The stuff was very friendly and kind. Private tour is much more interactive than standard tour and you should take a note to book it in advance because of capacity limits. Highly recommend!! 🥰

Today was my sixth visit to Safari Aitana. We always arrive before 11:00 so we can join the guided tour which takes about 2 hours. Jose feeds the animals and explains everything in Spanish and English. This is a unique experience that is suitable for all ages to learn and enjoy. We always have a meal in the restaurant after the tour which is good value and very tasty.

The trip to the safari is 1h from Alicante and the way there was very zig zag so we all got super carsick.
The park is very awesome and worth the trip tho! Awesome lions, tigers and many more, the best part was the giraffes for us!
In the park you drive your own car for 7km and 2hours - theres guides too, and sometimes you can can come out of the car to see them closer.
After the park theres a restaurant with burgers, soups etc. AND a small zoo behind the restaurant with other cool animals like owls, birds, bunnies etc, thats included in the ticket too!
We took a different path back to Alicante that was not so zig-zag and way better. 😊

If your kids love animals and wildlife this is a great day out. The start on the drive through is quite boring but grows with a stop at the giraffes 🦒 and the elephants 🐘. Great photo opportunities all the way round. Daktari a bit disappointing afterwards but overall a great day.

What an absolutely stunning place. The guide that showed us round was brilliant. He told us a lot of information about the animals.
It is lovely to see wild animals in captivity in such good condition, the hippos are brilliant and to see the elephants so close was also brilliant.
We also dined in the restaurant this is a must.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes wild animals.

We bought a private tour via internet with a van (comfortable and with climate control) and a guide; for 2 families (7 people) and it's a best solution.
Our guide Carlos was so engaged and nice, talk a lot with our smallers, we really love him! It was our first experience when animals are so close to us, with feeding and petting them.
Elephants and giraffes are super cute, we even saw how tigers swim in a pond. It's not a zoo, just another blow-minded place with a lot of free space and sensorial experience.
Ksena Shurubura — Google review
Great place! Our gide Carlos was the best! Better to take Safary individual tour, because for driver it will be difficult to drive through the animals on thin road. Also, gide gives you information and food for feeding animals. It's not chip, because you pay 170 for 7 person place Wan + 160 euro for 7 person entrance, but it worth... And have place for one time...

I come here every single year with my family and it is my favorite safari. Kids enjoy seeing and discovering new wild animals and most of the time you can touch some of them.
You don't see animals from afar, but a step away from you! A magnificent experience.
Also, guides explain animals' characteristics in a very entertaining way!
When I have kids I won't hesitate to come back here.

My family and I loved our visit at SAFARI. It is a well organized place to visit , I have been to other places like this but for me this is the best. A very big place to take care of the wild animals, well preserved. People are well informed of what dangers that we can encounter during the visit. The personnel and staff are very kind and helpful. Very recommended to all family and friends who are adventure seekers.

Even though it was raining, we still had a great day at the safari. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The cafe on site had some very nice food and reasonably priced too. I think the only thing that would have made this visit better, would have been some sunshine and some monkeys.

The Valencia Bioparc is a modern naturalistic zoo in Spain that boasts an array of African animals such as lions, gorillas, and giraffes. The park's focus on education and conservation sets it apart. The innovative landscaping creates the illusion of free-roaming animals without visible fences segregating their habitats. Madagascar is particularly magical with lemurs cavorting around waterfalls among lush vegetation.
Very nice experience! Animals looking good and healthy. The installation are very clean and well kept. A lot of freedom for the animals. We liked the fact that different species are together kept as in their natural environment (co-living). Happy to visit again. Entrance price is in good relation. You can see that they take really good care of the animals ans the park. Enhorabuena, Team Bioparc!

We liked the park because of the beautiful surroundings and everything is nicely put together. They have a lot of beautiful animals which you can see from quite small distance. We didn't like the price regarding the size of the park. It's actually quite small, was expecting a larger park... you can't bring some sort of food with you, which they don't have written on their site so don't bring many snacks with you, fruits are allowed. In general it's a lovely zoo but there are a lot more beautiful and larger round the Europe...

Bioparc Valencia is a fantastic zoo that is sure to please visitors of all ages. The zoo is well-maintained and organized, with informative signage and exhibits that teach visitors about the animals. The animals are well-cared for and seem to be happy in their enclosures. The setting of the zoo is also beautiful, with lush vegetation and ponds. I would highly recommend Bioparc Valencia to anyone visiting Valencia.
Pros:
- Well-maintained and organized zoo
- Large collection of African fauna
- Informative signage and exhibits
- Educational and entertaining for all ages
- Beautiful setting
Cons:
- Can be crowded during peak season
- Some exhibits could be larger
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Bioparc Valencia and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Valencia!

Very nice place to spend a day, very clean and well maintained. The animals are well-cared and have spacious enclosures, a lot of clean ponds and spraying water during the day.
Even in hot summer day, there was so much shade it was actually comfortable.
Food is expensive and not very good quality, but you do not visit Bioparc for the restaurant.

Bioparc was beautiful and very well designed. We enjoyed seeing the animals from different viewpoints. Eating lunch outside where we could see giraffes, lions and other animals was a great experience. Your food choices were amazing. It wasn’t “junk” food. We enjoyed Bioparc more than we have enjoyed zoos in the United States. The admission prices are fair and well worth the visit. Thank you.

I honestly loved this place. The enclosures are fantastic as different species live amongst each other. The animals looked relaxed and happy too which I find the most important factor. Plenty of drink vending machines and toilets dotted around the place.
Maria Nagli? — Google review
One of the nicest zoos I've visited. The enclosures are built in such a way as to feel as natural as possible to both visitors and the animals of the park. You will hardly see any fences or cages, it all feels a lot more natural. The theme is Africa and there are only African animals in the park. The highlight has to be the fact that you can enter the lemur enclosure and have them running around you and up in the trees above you.
Emil Oprisa — Google review
Beautiful place, the Bioparc Valencia it is known for its unique design that aims to recreate and preserve natural habitats for animals. .
The zoo focuses on African wildlife and providing its animals with spacious enclosures that resemble their natural habitats as closely as possible. This allows visitors to observe the animals in environments that are more similar to the wild, promoting both their well-being and education about their natural behavior.
If you have an interest in wildlife and conservation, it is definitely worth a visit. Kids will love the place.

Make sure to reserve about 3-4 hours to see everything calmly and enjoy it.

I've been to many zoos and this is among the best. Focused only on African species, they combine several different animals in the same exhibit. For example rhinos and zebras or giraffes and impala. there is a great flow to the design and you usually have different viewpoints of the animal areas. not a traditional cage anywhere. highly recommended.

Awesome park. Very pleasant place to spend time, especially with children. Very comfort spaces for animals, big, spacious, a lot of clean ponds and spraying water during the day, there is almost none quilty feeling on visiting zoo. A really great animal park - clean and animal friendly. The enclosures blend in with nature, there are no cages.
Visitors really enjoy this place! Suitable for visiting with small children.
Animals can be viewed from many angles. Their activities can also be observed in their private places - caves.
Many food places that allow you to enjoy this pleasant park longer.
What is very important for families with children - there are toilets everywhere.
Some birds are "free range" (see picture!)

The kid-friendly atmosphere here is remarkable. My children were captivated by the diverse array of animals and enjoyed every moment exploring the park. The interactive exhibits and educational programs kept them engaged and entertained throughout our visit.
Overall, Bioparc offers a perfect blend of entertainment, education, and environmental consciousness. A must-visit for families and nature enthusiasts alike!

Amazing place with various animals (yes it is not a typical zoo) - the animations are very educational (some of them are only in Spanish) and the visiting path is well designed, no need to look at the map all the time as there is only one main path. The animals are in quite good condition. The dauphin animation starts with a quiz (6 questions) to select a winner to have the opportunity to be interact with the dauphin which is a great idea! However the animation itself is a little bit “messy” as all dauphins are doing different activities on the same time.. the buffer restaurant has a great view on the giraffes and lions.
Highly recommend to buy the tickets online in advance which saves time and money (slightly cheaper than buying on site)

Nice show of birds at 4.30 pm.
The conditions for animals seem better and closer to natural than in the usual zoos.
Make sure to put one layer of clothes more! It always feels colder than in the city.
However, we hoped to see more species of animals such as snakes and others!

Truly amazing place. It's designed in a way that allowes you easily navigate to see everything without getting lost or using the map, although the map is available.
You can spend there 2h but I'd recommend spending at least 5-6h. Personally I saw the whole park and after that I attended every event possible.
Activities like live exhibition or meeting with keepers are enjoyable even if you don't speak Spanish.
You can get a ticket online, including the meal which is a bit cheaper than buying it on site. Nevertheless it's not expensive either way.
Bioparc is located 10-15 minutes on foot from metro.
I should add that the whole place is so adorable, I'd go there even without any animals inside.

Beautiful old train station. I love the interior decoration; it is all covered with mozaic ornaments and paintings. On the right from the entrance there is a small hall where you can see some fantastic mozaic images giving you an idea what Valencia is famous for: silk, oranges, climate and ceramic goods. Sometimes they organize expositions in this hall as well.
The Central Market of Valencia, Spain is a massive and beautiful market filled with fresh produce, spices, and specialty ingredients from all over the country. It's one of the largest markets in Europe and is also home to a Michelin starred chef who prepares bites at Central Bar. There are many stalls selling unique items from all over Spain, making it the perfect place to buy souvenirs or find regional dishes to cook at home.
Very lively place with tons of great spots for food, souvenirs and several other items. I particularly enjoyed the variety of typical foods, Spanish hams, cheeses and the ambience of the market. It is surrounded by restaurants and shops so it makes for a very nice area of the city.

This market is incredible! It's probably the best indoor market I've ever visited.
I'm almost lost for words.
The building itself is beautiful, but it's the amazing amount of authentic working stalls inside that has to be seen to be believed.
The choice of fresh seafood, vegetables, cheeses, meats, sweets, the list goes on, will take your breath away.
The fact that this market serves the local community rather than pandering to the hoards of tourists adds greatly to its charm.
Not to be missed.

The Central Market is one of the iconic places in Valencia. The architecture of the building itself, specially built for market trade, is noteworthy. But the most interesting thing is inside. There are fruit and vegetable rows and butcher shops with such a variety of jamon! Fish ruins are easy to find by their specific smell. But this is not the smell of a week’s catch, but a mixture of aromas of the freshest fish, octopus, cuttlefish and many more unknown sea creatures. Here you can wander around just like that, watching with interest the interactions between sellers and buyers, plunging into truly Spanish everyday life.

Fantastic place. First of all, the building is phenomenal, well maintained and beautifully decorated. The market has something for everyone, lots of seafood, different fruits and vegetables. Of course, there is also the famous prosciutto, which you must try. You haven't had breakfast, everything is waiting for you here 🙂🙂🙂

Very nice covered market in a very nice building!😍 If you are in Valencia you should definitely see it. Fresh meat, fish, vegetables, herbs, etc. A feast for the eyes. You can also enjoy coffee / tea / wine etc at the bar in the Mercado. Super friendly people, we will definitely come again. Love it!❤️Until next time😃

Wow, what an unbelievable site. There are so many vendors, fresh foods and delicious treats all over this place. There are a few things to know before coming here.. Some of the vendors only accept cash, they do not allow you to TOUCH the fruit unless you are purchasing it, it says it closes at 3:00 but everything shuts down at 2:00pm. On the back there is a nice bar with a long wait to sit at where you can grab coffee or a drink. It is crowded with locals and travelers. Go early on if you want a more upbeat relaxed experience because if you go towards closing there is a rushed feel. Next to the bar is a key copying place & a place to fix leather. This market is worth checking out!

A must visit for tourists and locals. One of the oldest markets in Europe that has been renovated and it shows; the architecture is beautiful and looks really clean for a market - so be sure to look up at the building as it can be missed with the other eye catching produce on offer.
There can be an overwhelming amount of stalls to choose from and the market is huge, so give yourself ample amount of time to explore. There are plenty of cultural foods and drinks all at very good prices - there is bound to be something you will like.
Minor issue is there is not much place to sit in so be prepared to either eat outside or standing up. Also there is a small fee for the toilet use.

Notice the parrot symbol all over the place, including the old parrot structure on top of the dome of the entire building. This bird is emblematic of the market being the place for news of town gossip! This symbol has existed since the central market has existed!
Numerous fruit stands, delis, butchers, artisan products and etcetera. Also has a few restaurants to eat in while you are shopping. You will see that even locals shop for their greens and fruits here.
I would recommend getting a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice or a quick cafe cortado before walking around this massive commercial areas, which used to be the center of town.
If wanting solid photos with less people in the vicinity, I would recommend coming right before siesta hours so that the place is semi-empty!

Beautiful market, full of fresh produce, food and souvenirs. Make sure you try a few pots while walking around admiring the architecture.
I was disappointed it was closed on a Sunday as I wanted more time there, but I'm glad I got the chance to see it regardless!

Nice place to visit to grab some snacks and taste some of the localities.
There you can buy veggies, fresh and cured meats, cheeses, oils and amazing seafood and even some jewelry.
The Pescados stand was amazing, there you can get some fresh Unis ( sea urchin) and oysters 🦪 by peace and try right there with lemon. That was so yummy!
We tried cheese and sausages too.
As well as some really nice olive oils.
Amazing place to check out if you’re a foodie and you can get some gifts too!

The Central Market of Valencia is one of the oldest markets still in use in Europe and has been declared a ''Heritage of Cultural Interest'' site by the Spanish Ministry of Culture. After about ten years of work it was inaugurated in the course of 1928 and decades later, in 2010, it was completely renovated. It's a popular spot among tourists as well as locals, as it’s the perfect location to immerse yourself in the heart of local culture and to get lost in its numerous aisles filled with local products.

Central Market Valencia is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves fresh, local food and an authentic shopping experience. The market is a bustling hub of activity where vendors offer an incredible variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, spices, and baked goods. The quality of the products is outstanding and the vendors are friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to offer tips and advice on preparing and cooking their products.
The market is also a feast for the eyes, with colourful displays of fresh produce and beautiful architecture that captures the essence of Valencia's history and culture. The market is conveniently located in the heart of the city and is easily accessible by public transportation or on foot.
Overall, Central Market Valencia is a wonderful place to experience the local food culture and indulge in some delicious, fresh, and healthy ingredients for your meals. Highly recommended!

Fascinating old market building with all variety of foods on offer. Very Spanish and a treat to see all of the fresh produce. Worth going when there is some hustle and bustle around the middle of the day. It opens from 7:30am to 3:00pm so don’t make the mistake of trying to visit in the evening!

This is a beautiful traditional Spanish market with great architecture both inside and outside. You can find pretty much anything there including turon, sweets, chocolates, exotic fruits. It is also a great place to eat small tapas for lunch.

The biggest and most popular market in Valencia. We visited on two separate days to be able to see every shop. Multitude of options from trinkets and souvenirs to butchers and food stalls. If you’re a tourist looking to buy souvenirs to bring back home, this market is your one-stop shop.

This should be your number 1 place to visit whilst in Valencia if your a foodie like myself. It is simply stunning with a vast array of different shops and little restaurants inside. The Central Market in Valencia is great. It is in a very good location with lots on offer nearby, bars/ tapas/ street food, seating options a plenty.
the street area around the market has lots to see with a number of vintage and artistic stalls. The indoor area is foodie heaven! With lots of local delights . And beyond that, lots of windy lanes to explore.

It’s the place to be when you want to buy fresh vegetables and all other ingredients. We saw a lot of things. If you just ho to the Central Market you can find all the ingredient to make a whatever dish you want to cook.
We bought delicious Turron here to eat. Our first time. The atmosphere is good. The market is clean and hygienic. Even the fish and meat area are clean.

Beautiful old local market. Go early! Everything is closing down by 2pm (14:00).
Great option for small bites, local specialties and local meat and seafood. If you’re a fan, look for the local fish mongers with fresh oysters 🦪 and uni/urchin,…or look for a favorite cured meat, paella, or seasonal fruit, all of which you can enjoy on the spot.
For fresh food, be prepared with cash. Some vendors only accept cash, others only cash for small purchases, and most did not want to accept the Mercat certificados (cash coupons) that say you can spend them on market purchases. Most vendors told me they wouldn’t accept the certificates at all, or they were only for parking but not purchases.

The La Lonja de la Seda is a historical building located in the city of Valencia, Spain. The building is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was originally built as a silk and commodity exchange. The courtyard inside of the building is filled with citrus trees, which adds to the beauty of the building.
Lovely building steeped in history. Orange trees in the central courtyard smelled heavenly. We didn't get a guide as 8 of us so just had a quick look around. Worth a stop on a city break and free too!!

Worth a visit as it’s free entry and it’s such a beautiful medieval architecture that used to be used as a food trading place, like a market. It’s right next to the Central Market and it has stunning views of the church in front. The gardens are well kept and the building has tall and delicate pillars.

Highly recommend to visit. This place is a hidden gem, just next to Mercado Central. Maybe it is not a very lengthy tour, just several halls, but each of them is just stunning! The main one is enormous and takes you back in time to middle ages. The price for entrance is also a nice surprise, just 2 EUR per person. In addition you can get an audio guide. We really enjoyed the place during wanderlust in Valencia.

A UNESCO World Heritage site, this monument is a feast for the eyes. Built by the city council in the late 15th century to house the commerce, the architecture and decorative stone work is filled with symbolism of religion, sin and wealth.
The audio guide is highly recommended, highlighting the details and history of this impressive building.

It's one of the highest-rated tourist attractions in Valencia for a reason - it's a breathtakingly beautiful building. The entrance fee was a measly 2 euros and the guided audio tour was really fascinating; I'm used to feeling ripped off when I visit tourist attractions but this was accessible, incredibly well-maintained, cheap and very informative. Highly recommend.

Beautiful building, well worth a tour. The audio tour helps tell the story of the history of the building as well as some great little quirks on the outside (such as the carvings in the masonry etc). I'd definitely recommend doing the audio tour! Takes about an hour

Beautiful building, inside and out. Definitely worth the visit even just to see the interior architecture and decor. You won’t spend a long time here as there are only three or so main rooms, but with the orange tree courtyard in the middle, and the amazing merchant trading hall, it’s not to be missed. Free entry on a Sunday!

I went here with the guide from a walking tour. She explained the history of this building, why it was built and many fun facts. In general, it’s a pretty and well-managed historical site to visit, but if you come by yourself, it might be more interesting to get an audio guide.
Nico Yu — Google review
This entire edifice is an indication of how powerful and bold silk tradesmen were during Europe's expedition of the Orient (Marco Polo). The small, provocative ornaments on the structure's main door are facing the church directly... making it even more bold of the silk tradesmen back then!
The architecture is obviously why one goes here. But the history of silk and how it built half the city through the Silk Road from Asia is also a narrative that provides more context to your visit. I suggest doing a quick wiki.
The spiraling columns are different especially when you stand up close and look up. The best lighting seems to be around 10 AM when it opens.. the best time to take pics!
Nabil R — Google review
A very strange place - it costs 2 euros (free with the Valencia tourist pass), which seems like quite a bit. But surprisingly, the visit is not worth it at all. Well, that is, there is nothing interesting inside at all. The building is cool from the outside, it’s also nice on the inside, but there’s no information written anywhere about anything, all the halls are empty, there’s no ancient furniture or other furnishings that would tell us how everything worked here. In one of the halls they play a video - very boring.
Igor Omarov — Google review
An incredibly beautiful building and well worth a visit. We bought the audio guide and I found the nasal American accent which is supplied for English pretty grating and this detracted from the overall experience. Other than that it's well worth a visit - great insights into the history of Valencia.

Undoubtedly this place is among my top 5 in Valencia. It is so pretty with amazing architecture, gorgeous gardens and gorgeous views of the town. And the fact that is free is unbelievable! A must if visiting Valencia!

The place IS worth visiting provided you pay separately for an audio guide which offers visitors an abundance of details with regards not only to the historical significance of this place (see the triad The Cathedral, The Silk Exchange and Generalitat), but to the mixture of symbolism carved into stone both inside and outside. Not to mention the beauty of the gargoyles.....

This is a world heritage site, and I'm not surprised. It takes you back in time. I have never seen a building like this before. The features are stunning. Valencia Cathedral is a beautiful Gothic-style cathedral dedicated to the Holy Grail and with stunning views of the city. It is home to a museum with many interesting items, including an Italianate fresco above the altarpiece, as well as two Goyas in the Capilla de San Francisco de Borja. The cathedral also has a famous tower with great views of Valencias Historic District.
Such a beautiful church, full of history and impressive religious art.
The facade is impressive as well as the inside of the Cathedral. It features beautiful Gothic style designs as well as impressive religious pieces, stained glass and much more. We were lucky to attend mass at the Cathedral on Christmas day and we loved the community as well. Such a great place to visit. The Holy Grail chapel was closed at the time of our visit, but I hear it's beautiful as well.

The Holy Grail is here! Believe it or not, you should visit the cathedral. The cathedral, La Seu in Catalan, is situated between two squares. It is built in Gothic style with Roman elements and other. For me, each cathedral is always one of the main sightseeing points. Because it is the history of the city.
You can also visit the bell tower and enjoy the view of the city.

Must see when in Valencia! Entry ticket was around €10, you’ll get the auto guide included ( selection of languages available). Beautiful building inside and out. A lot of Artwork inside which is worth seeing and listening to the history. Cathedral was build in XIII century, so there is plenty history there. You have an option to climb the tower of the cathedral on your way out for an additional €1.5 ( you’ll definitely get your steps in that day ).

The most beautiful cathedral in Valencia! It’s such a precious place to visit and I believe it’s a must visit place for all tourists and visitors. Every angle of this cathedral is photogenic and it’s full of holy paintings and adornments that are worth the visit. The entry fee is €8 which is totally worth it as you can spend hours in there. It’s also quite close from the central station so you can walk there. Also there’s a mini museum inside so go have a visit.

Very beautiful place. We spend there around 2 hours as there are some additional zones with exhibitions around main part church. Inside and for an advanced price like 2-4 euro you can visit the tower. It's 240 stairs there.

The experience was made enjoyable through the useful audio guides and for €9 it was definitely worth it. Lots of other things to see not just the Holy Grail, which was impressive in itself.

You have to visit the cathedral if you're in the city. It's a bit pricey, and to go up the tower, they charge a supplement; but if the cost goes towards the upkeep of the building, fair enough.
They do include an audio tour, which is surprisingly good, and there's a great museum inside that has superb displays and access to the catacombs.

we climbed the tower (207 steps, would not recommend the elderly or inactive) before visiting the church and the 360deg view was worth it! the church itself also exhibited a very interesting concept of mixture in architecture styles.. and one can see the holy chalice here. audioguide also enhanced the whole experience, worth a visit!

The Cathedral in Valencia is an awe-inspiring architectural masterpiece that captivates visitors with its grandeur and historical significance. From the moment you approach its magnificent facade, you're drawn into a world of centuries-old craftsmanship and intricate details. Stepping inside, the interior boasts breathtaking beauty, with ornate chapels, stunning stained glass windows, and the awe-inspiring Holy Chalice. The audio guide provides invaluable insights into the cathedral's rich history and cultural significance. While some areas may be crowded with tourists, the overall experience is well worth it. A must-visit landmark in Valencia for anyone interested in history, art, or architecture.

Went for the bell tower, but ended up staying for over an hour because of the museum in the cathedral. It is a separate entrance than the bell tower and requires a separate ticket, but is well worth it. Not only is the main part of the cathedral beautiful, but the museum is very interesting and actually takes you UNDER the church to an excavated area… which includes a small graveyard. Non-fluent Spanish speakers- everything here is in espanol, so I recommend downloading Google translate (and downloading the offline option, otherwise you won’t get the really interesting info from the sites under the church!).

Another great example of the church's wealth & power continuing into the 21st century in Europe. A good few interesting pieces, rooms & art. If you're spending a few days in Valencia, this is not a bad place to kill a few hours.
John Keenan — Google review
During my recent trip to Valencia, I had the opportunity to visit the iconic Valencia Cathedral. While the cathedral itself was undoubtedly interesting and impressive, the €9 admission fee seemed somewhat steep, especially since the building wasn't significantly more remarkable than other cathedrals or churches I've visited.
As a non-religious person, I was still captivated by the stunning frescoes, intricate icons, and majestic statues throughout the cathedral. The architecture and historical context were noteworthy, adding depth to the overall experience.
My main interest, however, was the 'Holy Grail,' believed to be the cup from which Jesus drank. Unfortunately, the artifact was tucked away in a small, dimly lit room and displayed in a dark case, making it difficult to see clearly. The room was under renovation, which made it challenging to appreciate the artifact in a serene setting. Furthermore, there was a lack of information or indication about the Holy Grail's significance, aside from a lengthy audio tour that included unnecessary chanting.
In summary, the Valencia Cathedral is an interesting place to visit with its impressive architectural and historical elements. However, my expectations regarding the Holy Grail were not entirely met, and the €9 fee seems excessive for visiting what I perceive to be a public church. If you're in Valencia, it's worth a visit, but be prepared for the admission price and potentially underwhelming display of the Holy Grail.

Absolutely splendid medieval cathedral with significant 18th-century renovations. The prerecorded handheld tour guide was just right in terms of length and detail. There is a super museum accessed from within the Cathedral with amazing artefacts. The Cathedral itself has at least one painting by Goya. And if you like relics, this is definitely your kind of place!
Steven Courtney — Google review
Gorgeous cathedral with lots to see inside. Budget at least an hour if not longer. It's not only the church (which hosts the holy grail and the arm of the patron Saint of Valencia) but there is also a museum attached to the side. Be sure to check out the upper floor that has lots of artwork and artifacts. Clean bathrooms available on the 1st floor. If short on time, I would suggest the Valencia Cathedral over Saint Nicolas.

Right in the heart of the old city centre, this cathedral is absolutely beautiful. It costs to enter, but it's worth it. You get an audio device as part of the entrance fee. Staff are very friendly and I highly recommend visiting.

What an amazing park this is. A haven of peace and tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Perfect for a quiet stroll, cycle ride or even a jog or a picnic. Pitches for football basketball and other sports. If you like walking and exploring cities make use of this wherever you can as it extends throughout the city. Such a beautiful variety of trees and shrubs will provide plenty of shady spots to retreat from the heat when it gets too hot.

Make sure to bring or apply sunblock when you’re planning to go be there same time as ours and don’t forget water. Unique and extraordinary. It makes Valencia an outstanding first choice city break with children. The park runs 9km through the centre of Valencia between the bioparc and the centre of arts and sciences, giving traffic free access by foot or bike to many of the city's attractions. The park itself is a green oasis with lanscaped gardes, playgrounds, sportsgrounds and exercise areas. The museum does not repeat too many words from its input, making it an excellent paraphrasing tool for summarizing information in correct standard English.

Carrer Sant Martí de Porres, 29, 46702 Gandia, Valencia, Spain
The Ducal Palace of Gandia is a historical landmark that dates back to the early 1300s. Throughout its history, it has been occupied by the Borja dukes of Gandia and boasts opulent Gothic and Baroque interiors. Though remodeled in the 19th century, original details are still present in the building. The Salon de las Coronas is among several lavish rooms while the Galeria Dorada stands out with its decorated rooms and tiled floor depicting the four elements.
Very helpful staff, wheelchair access including lift. We had a guide which was very interesting.

Beautiful architecture and brimming with history, excellent English speaking guide.
A must visit if visiting Gandia
Very interesting, beautiful pictures and ceilings. The golden gallery is stunning.
It' just a pity that it looks very uninteresting from outside, you would pass it without a second glance if you didn' t know it was there, and the surrounding buildings are also not very appeaing.
Lets just say that the setting is not great.
On the plus side: very friendly staff, a good sound guide and an easy underground parking next door.
Forget about a stroll through Gandia though, its very depressing!

This is a beautifully preserved historical palace. You can get a guided tour, audio guide, and some days dramatic guided tours. I got the audio guide and it was narrated well with lots of information. You only see the second floor but that's alright, because there's lots to see. You can probably spend 1 hour in this place.

A real jewel. Totally must-see attraction in Gandia. Our guide Gabriel was fascinating... made the whole tour absolutely riveting and left us all feeling like we'd taken a 4 credit course of Spanish history at uni. The palace is exquisite and a tribute to the Jesuits who have helped keeping it for posterity.

I had a few hours to waste in Gandia and by chance passed by the palace. Well worth a visit of about an hour. Well laid out, I used the QR to guide myself around and it was easy. A lot to view. By the river but fairly central and lots of places to get refreshments nearby.

lovely old palace showing the different decoration styles of the many centuries since it was first built. Splendid architecture, poor furnishing and the many royal portraits could do with nametags...

Low key 'palace' , well worth a visit for extraordinary decoration . I'd have wanted a little more about the Ducal role in so iety, but otherwise this plan is a secret gem in the heart of Gandia.

Carrer del Duc Alfons el Vell, 1, 46701 Gandia, Valencia, Spain
The Castle of Cullera is a restored hilltop castle dating back to the 10th century, offering scenic water views and housing a museum. Situated in the coastal town of Cullera, in Valencia, Spain, it provides panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The castle has historical significance as it was involved in battles and reconstructions over the centuries.
Despite the Castle of Cullera being closed, the view from the hill was absolutely stunning, offering a panoramic perspective of Cullera and the Mediterranean Sea. The castle's exterior hints at a rich history, leaving me eager to return and explore its historical charm in the future.

This place is magical! This is our second time here this spring and it never disappoints. I would recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful getaway for an afternoon. There is a small cafe at the top of the castle outside the church but it did not look big. It looked like a nice place to have a cafe but we like to go eat at one of the many restaurants on the beach below.

The castle itself is worth visiting, the view is amazing. However the gift shop is poor unless you want to buy devotional articles. Cafe is not welcoming, the smell of old oil put us off and we didn't try any of their delicacies.

You have some very cool views from up there. People with reduced mobility can access the Museum by elevator and to a first floor with a platform, from there there is no further accessibility further up. Very friendly staff. The cost of entry to the Castle is €3 and if you have a disability it is €1. You can go up by car, there is parking, if you have reduced mobility you have an elevator that takes you to the entrance of the Castle at no cost for those with reduced mobility, otherwise it costs €1 to go up and another to go down. You can also take the stairs for those who can walk.

Parking (limited when busy) at the base (use toilets there!) if you can weave your way through Cullera to the access road. Funicular available from parking to the castle/cafe entrance.
Views spectacular!
Staff totally amiable and helpful.
Approach on foot is quite steep and long.
Interior not really suited to those with mobility problems.

It's okay, not much to go around. We went 10:00 here. If you are thinking to buy ticket in advance I advice you not because the woman in the entrance is not there always, and you can have the same view without entering. Better also to pack your own food (I pack tuna sandwich, try it lol) and water to save (8 Euro if u ask for taxi just going there , 3 euros for entrance, 2 euros for souvenir coin)

El castillo está muy bien conservado y la guía está fenomenal si llevas instalada la aplicación de castillos con audioguía gratuita. El único problema es que aparcar legalmente arriba en el castillo es difícil porque hay pocas plazas así que hay que llegar pronto.

Amazing place if you like history, cheap entry also. The view you have over Cullera from the mountaintop is breathtaking, for 1 euro coins you can use the mounted binoculars.

Very simple but I was not able to visit the castle or the interior of the church but I will return to see it and see if I change my opinion. This time it was enjoying the views from the viewpoint and having a drink at the small bar there. What I found quite deficient was that the bar does not have services and those in the place were closed and it was a problem since such a remote and touristy place should be open all the time and the bar should have them too. With access to hiking routes. It's a shame that the weather won't be good as it was cloudy but with good weather I think the views should be much better. At night it can be a romantic place to take your partner to spend a nice moment looking at the horizon or for a sunrise or sunset. The elevator was not working either and the only thing that worked were the machines to withdraw coins from that place, there being two of different currencies, I recommend the one at the top, not the one with the brass coins.
A place that could be much better organized without a doubt.
The Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias is an extremely impressive state-of-the-art science complex set within a landscaped park with a huge aquarium & IMAX screen. The architect Santiago Calatrava is largely responsible for the stunning architecture, which has been met with mixed reactions from Valencians. It's well worth visiting for the beauty and scale of the buildings, as well as the variety of exhibits on offer.
Amazing place. One of my favorite spots and definitely a must visit if you are in Valencia. The complex was designed by Santiago Calatrava and the architecture is just amazing. It includes different buildings, each one really beautiful and overall is a great place for pictures and for taking a walk.
I bought a ticket that included visits to the science museum, a movie and the aquarium. I do not think the entrance to all of these it's worth it, but you can try, specially if you come with children.

I provide the review for the complex only.. as we did not have time to go inside the premises.
To be honest, the architectural designs are extremely amazing. I cannot describe how it really impressed me. You can see from the pictures and video. The best is to experience the complex in the afternoon and enjoying the sunset to take pictures.
We love the water entertainment too.
Definitely in love with this place in addition to the paellas 🥳

Much fun for kids and grown ups. The science museum is one of the most interactive ones I've been to.

I absolutely adored this place!
The architecture itself is very detailed and beautiful along with being modern. So many museum and shows you can see, you must book in advance. The perfect place for anyone and kids will be very entertained. I only had time for their Oceanogràfic which takes about 3 hours to get through but was worth it. Lots to see and we even got fortunate enough to see a dolphin show which was captivating and cute to see. Would love to come back and see more, i recommend good walking shoes being that getting all the way across is a stretch in itself. But also a magnificent spot for photo ops!

Special place, different and a must visit if you are in Valencia. Well served by means of transport and 10 minutes from the center. Futuristic structure, you can visit the botanical garden. the science museum, the innovation pavilion and what is on offer in the period you are in. Unfortunately, we came across a short period of exhibition and we still appreciated the architecture, the beautiful swimming pool with the equipment that you can rent. A moment of relaxation. You can also rent bicycles to go to the park next door or visit the exhibition space which is very large.

Amazing place. Even if you don't visit any of the buildings there, its still a great place to just take a walk and enjoy the amazing architecture. You can take a boat ride, grab a quick drink or sandwich at the small food stand. There is a small park there where you can sit on the grass and admire the view.
I visited l'oceanográfico, it was nice. The kids would enjoy it the most, I think. It takes about 2-3 hours to fully enjoy it, and taking your time at each room.

If you like Architecture, photography, and wandering around in warm weather then this is probably the place for you. The architecture is amazing and provides countless photo opportunities. The only downside was that when I visited (mid June 2023) there was a stage built by the science building that obscured many views and I understood it was there all summer as they had a number of concerts planned in the space. Also, at night it appeared that a lot of the lights went off at 10pm, and only the opera building seemed to leave the lights on later.
Michael Sutherland — Google review
The architecture is incredible. Each of the structures has distinctive features but maintains the space age style of the site.
You can buy a range of entrance tickets depending on which attractions you wish to visit, the oceanographic being the most expensive.
Also, it's only possible to enter the Opera House as part of a guided tour at set times.
If you feel adventurous, you can hire a board or boat and shoot around the lake for a while.
Each place is fascinating and worth a visit. You can also go in and out of the Science Museum as many times as you please during the day.

Absolutely loved this place as the glass and skeleton like architecture goes so well with the water surrounding the buildings. The buildings and gardens are maintained well and they are very clean. The City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia is an absolute must-visit destination. This sprawling complex is more than just a cultural hub; it's a fusion of art, science, and nature, beautifully encapsulated in striking modern architecture. Each building within the complex is a masterpiece, drawing your attention with its innovative design and aesthetic appeal.
The site encompasses a museum, an aquarium, and a cultural center, each offering a unique experience. The museum is a treasure trove of knowledge, ideal for those keen on science and technology. Meanwhile, the aquarium is a journey through marine life, making it perfect for families and nature enthusiasts. The cultural center, with its variety of events and exhibitions, caters to a broad range of interests.
But it's not just about what's inside these buildings. The surrounding area, with its lush greenery and water features, creates a serene environment that's perfect for leisurely walks or sitting back to soak in the scenery. It's also a fantastic place for bike riding, with paths winding through the stunning modern landscape.
In conclusion, the City of Arts and Sciences is not just a highlight of Valencia but a symbol of modern creativity and innovation. It's a place where you can spend hours exploring, learning, and simply enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Whether you're visiting the museum, the aquarium, or just wandering around the complex, it's an experience that's both enriching and visually spectacular.

The low rating is specifically for the science museum. I paid €9 and it was a total waste of money. The building itself is incredible, but you can see it for free from the outside. The exhibits inside are 90% Spanish with no translations. Everything felt disorganized which was a shame given how much space they had to work with. This could’ve been an amazing place to visit, but save your money and just walk through the lobby and visit the outside areas.

Even though i did not enter any of the facilities where a ticket was required and only went there for sightseeing, I reccomend visiting this place for sure. The architechure is spectacular during daytime and even more spectacular at night. The vibe is also nice. There is also the park a level above the buidings which shines the most during the day. So you have to visit it twice, on daytime or when is dark. Or get there around sunset to get the best of both worlds.

Great architecture and it is probably the best sight to visit in Valencia. It's free to walk around the outside too, where you can take photos. We were staying in the city centre and walked down Turia park to get there which itself is worth visiting. The previous route of the river is now a park.
We were there near Christmas and there was a Christmas market with mulled wine etc which was nice in the evening. We visited Oceanographic and the science museum. Both worth seeing but a lot to fit into one day.

This is a major complex in Valencia. There are multiple museums and sites to see. There is a lot of walking. It is a nice layout with pools and greenery and statues right near the end of the river park. We spent an entire afternoon in the oceanografic, going from building to building and site to site, which is well mapped. You can also get an audio guide in multiple languages for €4 per person. They offer discounts for seniors, kids, students disabled and unemployed. There are multiple restaurant options throughout the complex and within each individual museum area. The costs for a standard note at the april month was €37 and student was €31. We went through the aquariums and saw different fish, Coral, octopus. Sea lions sharks Baluga, whales, dolphins, penguins turtles and tortoises. There is s dolphin show 4-5 times each day. The Oceanografic is both inside and outside so sunglasses or an umbrella may be necessary at times. Overall. I loved it and do did my college aged student.

Go early and make a full day of it. There’s parking but easiest by bus or taxi. The bus will leave right in front of the entrance. We took a 3 and 8 year old who had a blast all day here! The Oceanographic aquarium in Valencia is the largest of its kind in Europe and contains nearly 500 different species of marine life. The building owes its impressive concrete roofing to the architect Felix Candela, who designed it as a magical space of water and wildlife. Visitors are able to explore different sections of the aquarium over the course of four hours, and it is definitely worth reserving time in your itinerary in Valencia to visit!
This is one of the best attractions in Valencia. Some people in their reviews say you will be done in an hour and a half but we spend over 2 hours and we enjoyed every minute. We spend so much time watching each of the animals, they were all so amazing to see. The dolphin show is around 10 am or 11 so get there early as the seats fill up fast. Some of the best parts were the sea lions, the flamingos, and the most unique part was the tunnel where you walk underneath stingrays, manta rays, sharks, jellyfish. You can see their features up close it's amazing.

I visited L'Oceanogràfic on a rainy day in Valencia, and it turned out to be the perfect indoor activity. The aquarium is massive and incredibly well-maintained. The sea life creatures appear happy and healthy, making it a truly enjoyable experience. It was a fantastic decision for a rainy day outing.
The location is awesome, the parking is quite convenient.
I’d recommend to book the tickets in advance. This place can get quite busy on weekends and holidays.

I think it is a bit expensive for what you can see in the aquarium. Some animals, like the penguins were kept in a very small space and the dolphin show was a bit uncomfortable to watch, there are like 18 of them in a pool that is not big enough for them to swim and more so being so many of them being kept there...
I liked the layout, that you can be outside from one part of the Aquarium to another, but for that money I was expecting the animals to be in bigger and better places, sort of like the aquarium in Lisbon.
Also most of the vending machines were broken and it was very difficult to get a drink.
But overall it was good, especially the tunnel where you could enjoy seeing a great variety of sea life swimming around!
Memi GM — Google review
So much more than an aquarium. We spent hours there and didn't get to see it all. The kids had a great time hoping from one creature exhibit to the next. The animals all seem to be top priority and well cared for. So many different animals to see and very up close.
Tye dolphin show was a clear favourite. Lots of fun and amazing tricks. Make sure you arrive early because there is limited seating.

The place in total was really cool, and we had great experiences there. They had everything from tropical fish, to birds to penguins! They also had a dolphin show, which happens every few hours, and that was white cool also, and they also translated everything. Which was good. It does take a long time to visit everything, and I would say you need at least 5 hours to visit everything. The tickets were quite expensive, as for everything, we ended up paying 170€ for 4 adults and 1 child. The food there was also very good, however it was slightly expensive too. Overall, the place was really cool, and I would recommend. But beware, we went here even when it wasn't the crowded season, and it was still pretty full, so you might want to buy tickets earlier, depending on what time of year you want to go.

A magnificent aquarium. You can spend almost a full day in it. An aquarium that hosts animals that you may not see in your life. It is very pleasant to walk in. Every detail is very well thought out. You can also coincide with events inside. There was an event with dolphins. Although I was against the use of animals in these events for commercial reasons, it was a good event. I felt sorry for the small area reserved for penguins. I am saddened by the confinement of living things that were brought from their natural habitats to small spaces.

Boss day out. Kids love it here. Lots to do and seem food is good but expensive. Toilets everywhere which is always a plus with 4 little kids. Not like your usual aquarium can spend a good part of the day here and not go bored. Dolphin show is good. So are the shark area. Lots of good stuff and good staff. 4D show is also good abs with the extra for the shark one.
William Burnett — Google review
Huge place that will require several hours for the best visit. Make sure to keep your kids well fed and happy to ensure that everyone will have a good time in yours and the others' groups.
The exhibition will be crowded at times so have patience.
The dolphin show is a must see. I watched it twice because, to be honest, it was a bit hard to follow. Young children around me thought the dolphin show was too much talk and too little action. When something cool actually happened they missed it because they didn't know where to look.I also weren't prepared when and where they would perform a trick.
Penguins would have been so fun to see but the window on that exhibition was a bit dirty and had water droplets all over it making it a bit hard to see clearly. This diminished the possibilities of an amazing, once in a lifetime, experience.
All in all, at first I thought it felt expensive but was actually very good value for money. If you visit Valencia and have the time and the money, go there.

Had a very nice experience with my family here. It was the main thing we enjoyed in Valencia. For anyone that is a lover of animals and oceanic life than I would recommend spending a couple hours here. We also got to witness the dolphin show where they taught us about the latest technology used in research and I found that really interesting.
NOTE: We bought our tickets at the front office like a lot of other people. Definitely don’t need to book in advance unless you want to skip the line.

Recommending buying tickets in advance so you can skip the line. Need to know exact day and time of the visit to do so. There are some discounts if you buy combo tickets with other landmarks in the city. You can google it to see which ones. Also you need at least 4 hours to see all parts of the place, its really big. Dolphins show is worth it.

Such a great aquarium. I’ve visited many aquariums and this one is definitely top 5. So many different animals to see. Amazing marine life centre, a must see. Amazing design and layout and plenty to see. Informative and instructional for adults and children. Good restaurant with table service and a reasonably priced food selection of food from the menu. The portions were very large as well. Highly recommended.

I did not know what to expect, but this place is really special. The buildings and facilities are amazing. You really need to 3 to 4 hours to see all well. The Delphine show is good (included as part of ticket price), but not super amazing, however it’s great for kids to learn. The shark tunnel is fantastic!
Roberto Carton — Google review
A diverse range of aquatic life on exhibit. Displays with an environmental theme are located throughout and feature powerful statements about pollution & plastics. Food services were not plentiful on site, but there are many nearby. Entrance price was a bit steep, but comparable to similar attractions in major cities.

This is definitely 100 times better than bioparc. It's got a huge space almost like the Disneyland of aquariums. It's easy to spend 4-6 hours here except the food options are terrible here so some people suggested bringing your own food. The dolphin show also is very boring, maybe it's very humane and kind to the dolphins but there was 70 percent lecture on saving the dolphins and 30 percent show. Kids couldn't even sit through it, the Spanish audience were the best though, they were singing and dancing thru the music which was much more interesting than the disorganized dolphins. To compare, even a tiny aquarium in Hokkaido Japan had a better dolphin show. However they do have some really cool tanks. I
There was one underwater tunnel they had Atlantic fish which was not so pretty bit there was another tunnel with sharks and tortoises. It's very cool. The bird case was a cool structure but looks better from the outside than from the inside. The octopus is totally cool to look at. The whole area is pretty big but it's not too hard to walk it all. Not really sure I saw it all but the kids were too tired to keep going after 5 hours. Highly recommend the sharks, penguins, belugas, flamingos and the octopus. Very very fun place. Worth the entrance.

This place is a true gem, and here's why:
The Oceanographic is incredibly well-maintained, showcasing an impeccable level of care for both the marine life and the visitors. The size of the facility is impressive, offering a vast and diverse array of exhibits to explore. It's like stepping into a world of aquatic diversity and beauty.
One of the standout features of the Oceanographic is its cleanliness. Everywhere I looked, the facility gleamed with cleanliness, making the visit all the more enjoyable. It's evident that the staff takes great pride in maintaining a pristine environment for both the animals and guests.
The exhibit layout is both extensive and well-organized, with various buildings dedicated to different marine themes. Whether you're fascinated by sharks, mesmerized by dolphins, or curious about penguins, there's something here for everyone. The diverse range of exhibits ensures that you'll never run out of new and exciting things to see.
The quality of the exhibits and the welfare of the marine life were top-notch. It's clear that the Oceanographic is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable environment for the animals. From playful dolphins to majestic jellyfish, the experience is nothing short of magical.

Hands down the best aquarium I have ever been too - A great variety of spaces and stunning marine life, all in pristine facilities. We went there thinking it would be a couple of hours, but easily spent 4 - 5 enjoyable hours. Dolphins were definitely a highlight 🐬
Would certainly recommend going if you get the chance. Plenty of choices for food if you get hungry too - Great place for a family trip out

Fantastic place! We spent over 7 hours here, strolling around the outdoor exhibits, watching the dolphin show, and going through the many underground exhibits showcasing a wide variety of fish including sharks, rays and eels, as well as turtles, seals, beluga whales, and penguins. And so many birds - flamingos, ducks, ibis, swans, and spoonbills. Take your time! It's well worth the price of admission.
This aquarium is well maintained and clean. Animals appear well taken care of. Staff are very friendly and most speak English.
We went in January, with no lineups, but still recommend buying tickets online ahead of time. Got to go straight in! Be aware you can bring in water bottles to drink, but no food allowed. This is to make sure you don't feed the animals. Reasonable request considering the circumstances!
This was definitely a highlight of our stay in Valencia. Highly recommend going for the day!

This aquarium is so pretty!
There are a lot to see : beluga, turtles, pingouins, birds, crocodiles and more.
You can easily spend half a day there and there are some restaurants/fast foods to treat yourself.
I visited Oceanographic as an adult but I was as excited as a child. Would 100% recommend it, especially if you have kids.

Awesome. We loved it. The spaces are out of this world. I love how it puts a lot of focus on the environment. We booked the backstage tour that takes you inside and explain how the water filtration works. Our guide Nuria was very knowledgeable and replied all our questions.
Also in case anyone needs it there are lockers, the size might fit a very small carry on, but otherwise I wouldn't take any luggage with you here.
We also tried the 4D movie theater, it was very good. An amazing experience, I believe it was only 3 euros. It's a must see in Valencia.

Great place for the whole family, beautiful surroundings outside and the aquarium itself is really well managed and spacious. Even when busy, it’s quite easy to look around. It’s a fair bit of walking but lots of places to sit down.

Wow what a big and beautiful aquarium.
I’ve visited some aquariums and I’ve never been to one where they pay so much attention to the animals and how big their living environments are.
This is how we’ve ended up spending almost 4,5 hours here, something we couldn’t imagine beforehand. There are a lot different animals to see. Very good of the park to separate most of them by locations (where they would be found in the wild). Must say that the signage in English is very good and placed at every item.
Remco Stribos — Google review
Love the park. We had very nice weather so that is also a plus. But it's recommended to pay a visit. Only the Dolphin show was not what I expected. A little short in my opinion. But a lot fish and beautiful Aquariums to see.

Platja de Gandia is a popular beach located in the coastal town of Gandia, Spain. This picturesque beach stretches over three kilometers and features fine golden sand, clear blue waters, and ample space for sunbathing and swimming. The beach is well-equipped with facilities such as showers, toilets, changing rooms, sun loungers and parasols for rent. The promenade along the beach is dotted with restaurants serving delicious seafood delicacies and cafes offering refreshing drinks to quench your thirst.
Museo Cueva de Dragut, also known as Dragut's Caves, is a fascinating historical site in Cullera, Spain. These caves were once used as a hideout by the infamous Ottoman pirate Dragut during the 16th century. Situated along the coast of Cullera, this attraction offers visitors an intriguing look into the region's past. The natural cave is filled with artifacts such as swords, guns, and model boats from that era.
Hidden attractions near Cullera's Lighthouse. Stairs take you to the cafetería and entrance to the museum inside the cave. Guided tour is very good as guide explain the history of the pirates and artifacts in all underground chambers. It has a small ship with a broken mast. Guided tour ends with a lights and sound show of a storm at sea. It is a cool tour for the price. After visiting the cave we walked outside up to the hill to see a hermitage, a sculpture with two huge hands and a natural balcony to see the lighthouse from the distance.

Amazing cave! Totally different from all caves that I've been in. It's breathtaking, worth of visiting.

A curious place, well worth a visit, even if you are not interested in special effects and superficial pirate stories. It's a huge, peculiarly winding natural cave, quite atmospheric, and with a bit of imagination you can almost "see" bad old pirates hiding there in the mid-sixteenth century. There are many old artefacts - sables, guns, jugs models of boats etc. I was given an individual tour by an earnest young guide, in English. Pity I wasn't allowed to take photos. There is also a café by the entrance, which is rather handy.

I love this place and have visited a few times - always travelling on the dotto train (tren turistico) from Cullera beach (get on near Ale Hop). They've created a great experience building on the history of the invasion of the town by pirates. Not for those with mobility problems, since as far as I know the out way out is via some very steep stairs.

Sagunto Castle, located about 25 kilometers north of Valencia, is a historic site with origins dating back to the Iberian period. The castle offers sprawling remains and partly-restored structures such as the Roman theatre, Gothic architecture, and the old Jewish quarter. The ancient fortification's walls stretch for about a kilometer and provide stunning views over the town and sea.

You don't have to be an athlete - this experience is for everyone (but it is not suitable for people with reduced mobility).
An hour here seems like enough to cover everything.
It's easy to get here - you can take a train to Sagunto and walk around, as the route to the castle is pleasant, it goes through the old part of Sagunto. And there are many places to eat nearby.
In my opinion it is a perfect experience for families and friends, I recommend it to everyone.

Free to enter and walk around, but probably not worth the trip out from Valencia for. There are information points across the town but these disappear once inside the castle grounds itself, so you’re left with an odd mixture of Roman ruins, apparently medieval gates, and then recently renovated concrete additions. Hard to tell what you were looking at.
Tom Beck — Google review
We were there on a Monday when it was closed. Still climbed the hill to see the castle, the views were amazing. You can completely walk around the castle and there are information boards. When we reached the other side we thought we could as well go around completely, but at some point there were no clear paths and sometimes we had to climb down from rocks. The views are also not that great from there so it’s better to just turn around when you reach the first half. Also make sure to wear good shoes.

Very interesting old fortress. Beautiful views. A bit strenuous up parts of the hill. The theatre is another amazing place to go to see.

Amazing history. Great walk around. People complained that it's in ruins, but I thought there was still plenty to see. There is virtually no parking. Bathrooms were broken when we were there. Google maps did not give the correct directions to get there. We did eventually find it on our own. If you go to the old city center you will be able to find your way and people to help with directions from there. This is across the bridge from when we entered town then back over on another bridge just on the other side.

We parked in the town and walked up to the castle. It was free, and not a long walk so I can recommend it to virtually anyone. Mind you, I probably wouldn't visit during the height of summer of around the middle of a hot day.
Great views and, in my opinion, worth a visit.

So glad we visited. Nearly didn’t after being put off by YouTube videos!!!
It’s a unique setting and worth the trip. A beautiful 20 degrees and a cool spring breeze. Fantastic views. Blissful.
The Roman theatre has been lambasted for its renovation. I was prepared for disappointment but I really loved the space.

At the top of the hill of Sagunto lays the ruins of this roman castle. Unfortunately there's no information to follow up during your visit. The views to the Mediterranean are really beautiful but the lack of information regarding the complex let me feeling empty of knowledge.
Carla Redondo — Google review
A nice, big castle with remnants from different periods. If you just know what and where to look for, this place is like a journal spanning millenia.
Pieces from Roman rule, Arabs, French and what not!!
- The hike from Sagunto train station isn't difficult, I'd say 3/10 on difficulty scale
- Entry is free
- There are not many signages, jus go there for exploration
- Phenomenal 360 degree views
- The visitor centre houses some historic artefacts
- There is also a small museum inside the castle, with mostly Roman era inscriptions
Now, some of the restoration is done with modern methods and if you are hardcore history buff, you'd be disappointed.
Nevertheless, worth visiting once.

Segunto Castle offers a captivating experience, and I'm thrilled to share my positive impressions. Firstly, the fact that it's a free site to visit makes it accessible and budget-friendly. The ease of reaching the area by train from Valencia adds to its convenience.
The sheer size of the site is impressive, providing a rich and immersive experience. Navigating through the castle is a delight, with the free audio guide enhancing the visit. I recommend bringing earbuds to fully appreciate the detailed commentary as you explore the site.
The historical significance of Segunto Castle adds a fascinating layer to the visit, and the breathtaking views from various vantage points are truly memorable. The inclusion of hiking trails around the site makes it an ideal destination for both hikers and dog enthusiasts, adding versatility to the overall experience.
Personally, I can't wait to return and delve deeper into the area, as it promises more discoveries and exploration. Segunto Castle stands out as a gem for history enthusiasts, nature lovers, and anyone seeking a well-rounded and enjoyable outing.

Beautiful ruins, more a citadel than a castle. Quite big, needs time to explore all parts, very nice view all around. Uphill path to walk to entrance, challenging for weak knees. Small museum building (bathrooms available but out of order when we visited).

The views from the castle are truly spectacular. The museum, while very interesting, doesn't provide much information.
This place is not for you if you aren't in shape. There is a LOT of climbing involved to reach the entrance, and more climbing, and scrambling over rocks, once you're inside.
That said, if you're fit it's definitely worth seeing and taking the time to look around.
If you don't want to climb all the way to the top, there is a small, Roman amphitheater that has been restored and is easily reachable and worth seeing.

It is incredible that it is there, and to think what it was like in its heyday, the entire site it covered, and how old it is.
Whenever I can I stop by again and discover that I like it a little more.
Although it lacks a little maintenance, it is a great place to go for a walk, to sit and rest, to hang out.
And from where you see it, it looks beautiful, but I think one of the best (distant) postcards you can have is from the road bridge at the Renfe station (Sagunto), it is spectacular as you see it.

Coves de Sant Josep offers guided boat trips and hikes through a subterranean river that dates back to the Triassic era, making it the longest in Europe. Visitors can enjoy a 45-minute leisurely boat ride along the underground river, covering approximately 800 meters. Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, guests will explore various rooms within the caves, including the Bat Room, Dianas Lake, Siphon Gallery, Dry Zone, and Cathedral.
Really nice and great place to be out of the sun. We bought tickets in advance but ended up running late and had to wait 30 mins before they had space for our group.
Got lucky and had a boat to ourselves and our tour guide managed to speak some English so was able to tell us about the caves, stalactites some history and how they had yet to find the source of the clear water. Super friendly gentleman 🙂
We loved the light show at the end of the ride and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There are many low ceilings so there was much of the journey where we had mind our heads and dodge.

Is a very beautiful caves. Boat will take you cross the river to see the caves. Only one thing I don’t like is the transit. If you want to go by your self and save time only way can work is take taxi cost around $60euro per each ways. Otherwise can take local bus to go. It will take around 2 and half hr each ways.

A great way to spend an hour, but book in advance to ensure your place or that you don't have a wait for your visit. The wooden boats hold 12 people and you are directed where to sit on the benches along each side to ensure stability.
There is a guide who poles the boat along and provides some details about the caves etc, in Spanish of-course, and our command of the language wasn't good enough to understand, but we still enjoyed the visit.
The caves are very low in places so you have to watch out and duck down to avoid a knock on the head. For this reason, there are only certain places, where the cavern is large, where it is safe enough to take photos.
The visit takes 45 minutes and after a short boat ride, you alight and wander through the caves for 200m. The floor is smooth concrete, but the width and height varies. At the end of this one-way walk, the boat meets you again so you have a longer ride back.
We booked in advance (as I needed to fit the visit into our schedule) and for 14,50€ each, we visited on Friday 28 April 2023. There were many visitors entering 30 minutes apart and I counted five boats of up-to 12 people in each for the trip after ours (as we had to wait for them all to pass).

Beautiful experience! It is definitely worth a visit when in Valencia! We rented a car and it was about a 45 min drive, free parking outside. There are some restaurants, shops and an ice cream store next to the entrance of the caves. When visiting the caves you go in boats deep into the mountain. The guide explains everything very nicely and with lots of humor! I went with my teenagers and they loved it too.

It was a wonderful experience. A visit to Valencia without a visit to San Jose Cave is not complete. The staffs are amazing, and the cave is well maintained while safety precautions are adhered to at all times to ensure the safety of all visitors and tourists. Added to this, the ticket is not expensive if you go there by yourself and not use a tour guide. It cost just 14£ to experience this amazing cave. Before you go into the caves, there are lots of cafes where you can grab something to eat. Ice cream, drinks, food, etc. You can as well do this when you come out of the cave.
If you are driving by yourself to the cave, there are lots of parking spaces to park your car safely. Don't ever worry about that. I don't know the price for parking but I am sure it won't cost anything. The car park is not far away from the main entrance and that is why I will recommend you drive there if you can as this will save you some money.
I need to say that photos and videos are bot allowed while you are in the cave. This is to prevent tourists' safety so they don't hit their head on the rock while taking a picture or videos. However, you will be giving some time, which is about 5 minutes at a safe spot in the cave to take good quality pictures. For those who would like to swim, you can do that within the 5 minutes, but who would choose to swim and ignore taking good pictures.
If I ever visit Valencia again, I will do this over and over again.

This place is incredible with a very unique cave where you swim on a boat. The lighting there is spot on which allows to see both the ceiling and the river floor. The only downside is always lowering your head so you don't get hit but that's part of the fun :).

These caves are about 45 min outside of Valencia. I recommend booking a tour to make it stress free because you will not have to drive there or wait in line to buy tickets and your tour guide should provide a history of the area along the way, The caves are beautiful. It is a comfortable temperature of 20 celsius inside. You ride a boat thru the tunnels and caves. Then you walk for a little bit and then you get back in your boat and go back through the tunnels and caves but this time you can take pictures. On the return ride you stop in the open area for a music and light show before the exit. There are a few shops and a place to eat in the town. And there's also an old Monastery at the top of the stairs above the stores. It was not a long tour but it was fun for all and something different fr9m the usual shops or Unesco sites. I highly recommend it.

Very enjoyable and relaxing experience. Floating through the caves enjoying the beautiful sights in the relatively cool surroundings was a great way to enjoy a very hot day. Our only problem was that the guide, although very good, gave a lot of information in Spanish and only spoke English when directly asked a question. We do speak a little Spanish but not at the level he was communicating. I feel we as tourists could have got a lot more from the experience had there been perhaps one of the four boats for English speaking tourists with an English guide.
Thank you so much Ian David for guiding us on a wonderful trip exploring the caves. Very knowledgeable and informative with great English.

Not worth visiting. The paths between the galleries and caves are not natural. It was created by blasting the rock with TNT. I saw a lot's of broken stalactites that will never recover. Also the bed of the river was filled with sand and cleaned from rocks and debris. Not many parts of the cave system remained untouched. Tourist trap.

Spectacular day trip from Valencia’s. About 45 minutes by car to get here, an hour long boat tour in Europe’s longest underground river, and stunning rock formations. We want to come back for the kayak tour ASAP. There is free covered parking next to the caves. Around the cave entrance there are a handful of bars and restaurants. The fanciest one would need a reservation, though we went to a cheaper one and has no wait for lunch. Alternatively, we found out later about some food trucks in the city center about 5-10 minutes away.
M Hernandez — Google review
Really great experience it is the longest navigable underground river in Europe, very close to Valencia, they do 2 types of trips, you can go in a boat for 800 meters and then a 250 metre walk, or you can do it in a single or double kayak, which is what we did, you even get the chance to swim in the water. Fantastic experience and would highly recommend it.

Castell de Dénia is a picturesque castle by the water, dating back to the 11th and 12th centuries. It offers a glimpse into history with artifacts on display, showcasing its Greek, Roman, Moorish, and Spanish influences. The climb to the top rewards visitors with stunning views of Denia and the mountains. While exploring the castle's ruins, visitors can also enjoy a café at the top.
Visited on a wild and windy day.
Still made so welcome. Very low cost to enter. Amazing. Fascinating history, spectacular views. Basic but good snack bar and facilities near top of castle. A very enjoyable visit.

One of those "must do" trips if you're in the area. Actually a really nice opportunity for a walk with the family. Fantastic views from the top. Lovely little coffee shop at the top also serving alcohol so we stopped for beer and cake. Saw a beautiful red squirrel in the grounds also.
Pammy Croasdale — Google review
For 3 euros it's a must as the Denia views are great. Not a huge amount to see but worth the walk.
richmouland — Google review
On a bright day this is an affordable and scenic hike up and down a rather old and well preserved castle in the heart of Denia. Come prepared to climb and pause the climb, especially with elders. Refreshments can be found at the cafe on top. Stunning views with ample space for photos. Laid back vibes and not overly-crowded. A space equal parts history and imagination.
Justin Rogers-Cooper — Google review
Loved this high hill castle in the heart of Denia’s old town. We visited early on a Monday morning, but even then it was clearly popular with locals and tourists.
There was lots to look at in the castle buildings themselves, but I must admit the views of the town from this high vantage point took most of my attention.
Excellent for just walking around and exploring, as well as getting to know the surrounding area.
Graeme Kirk — Google review
Awesome view of the city and surrounding area. The castle itself is but a ruin, but the restoration of the battlements really shows how impressive the castle was.
Cheap and enjoyable experience, highly reccomendable.
Nicolai Nielsen — Google review
Ruins of Castle of Denia are definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. There's not a lot remaining but you do get a super view of the surrounding area and it's very cheap at 2euros per old person, and dogs are allowed.
David Mitchell — Google review
Amazing view from the top, the castle/fortress is beautiful. I find one spot that very interesting for me, there was an entrance and the stone floor has a very flat and slippery surface. Interesting and beautiful, please becareful when you walk on it. There is also cafetariaand toilet on top, And I love how the cats are taken care of in this area. They provide food and drink for the cats. It was a nice visit there.

I enjoyed a lot the visit there. It was in the 15th of August and it was crazy hot and humid, but anyways a great visit. It took us about two hours of slow walking to go around the whole place.
El Manzanito — Google review
For only 5 euros the Castle and its views are a must when visiting Denia. It’s a steep climb to the top but worth the views
Catherine Heather — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous! Can't say anymore. The views are spectacular! The castle and ruins are so lovely and interestings! Little museums inside too. Loads of cats around! 🥰🤭
British Scone — Google review
There is a huge amount of history to learn about by visiting this castle, from the Greeks to the Romans, Moors, Spanish wars and more.
It's well worth a visit if you are in Dénia, but decent shoes are recommended or at least good sandals as parts of the steep paths are uneven and in several places slippery.
There are great views from the top of the castle, a good reason to visit if nothing else. From the top you can see right over Dénia and the mountains.
Entry was only €2 each (seniors) which included a guided tour.
Tony Payne — Google review
An impressive old castle with a lot of history. Splendid views over Dénia and the surrounding mountains and landscapes.

Beautiful views, lovely walk and reasonably priced to get in.

The castle itself is nothing really special, but the views of the city are fantastic. We took our dog with us and had no problem whatsoever. The walk up to the castle through the narrow streets is beautiful with many picture opportunities. It's well worth a visit.

The Parc Natural del Montgó is a stunning natural park spanning 2,117 hectares and showcasing the flora and fauna of the Mediterranean region. The park features the imposing Montgo massif, which rises up to an elevation of 750 meters above sea level, offering breathtaking views from its summit.
The Montgó Natural Park is very beautiful for hiking. In the Montgó Natural Park, the imposing Montgó Natural Park massif rises up to 750 meters above sea level, almost parallel to the coast, and dominates the entire municipality of Marina Alta. From the top of Montgó you can enjoy an extraordinary view. Bring flashlights when walking the routes to the caves and after sunset. Almost all routes are suitable for children, mountain bikers and runners. Mt Montgó is an imposing massif that rises majestically along the coast, overlooking the towns of Javea and Denia. The nature reserve dominates the skyline in the northern part of the province of Alicante and is very popular with hikers and cyclists.

If you are planning to explore Montgó Natural Park, it's worth considering a visit beforehand to the Park Information Centre (in Bosc Diana park & gardens, Avenida de Joan Fuster).
Pick up a free leaflet with a detailed map of the park, showing the various walking routes plus relevant information (in Spanish) - distance, degree of difficulty, total ascent/descent etc.
There is a very useful 3D scale model of the park and surrounding area, with walk routes marked on.
Also, display boards with information about natural history, flora and fauna, key species etc.
Mark Richards — Google review
Wild, beautiful, and preserved. These are still rare attributes, rare enough to be marked. Take your walking boots for a walk, one of these days these boots are gonna walk you to the wild life of Mongó

There is an awesome hiking route from the Harbour in Javea all the way up to the Lighthouse at the end of 'the elephants nose'. The route is not to difficult, but walking shows are required since you will be walking on rocks. Do make sure to enjoy the views.
Arjan Spannenburg — Google review
Remember to take and use sunproof cream.
Water at least 1,5 l per person. Take a cap.
Up and down 4 to 5 hours, depends on your physical state. Don't start later than 3 pm unless you plan to spend a night there.

Parc Natural del Montgó is a beautiful place to visit with stunning views and breathtaking scenery. However, the rocks and roads can be challenging to navigate and are not an easy walk. Nonetheless, the park is definitely worth a visit for anyone who loves nature and enjoys hiking.
Nicolas Bannerholt — Google review
Great view and easy access. If you want to walk to the top the path is quiet dangerous and difficult but there is enough indications. Be careful of the changing weather.
Micha Darcey — Google review
This mountain called MontGó - which means Elephant - actually looks like an elephant, when driving by you can see its eye and trunk and of course the mountains shape of an elephant.. Driving over the mountain by car is great fun, several lookouts from which you have a great view over the sea and the small city's Denia and Javea.
Jeroen Appers — Google review
Loved the hike. There is a cave on the bottom called Cova de Tollada (or similar, I may be butchering it). You can apparently go pretty deep inside the darkness there but i didn’t venture.
Regardless, the hike before it is spectacular. True beauty to see the sun, sea and mountains in one place

Amazing views from the top, quite a climb allow 2 - 3 hours each way. The path at places can be very rough or close to the edge especially the summit climb. Even if you go half way the views are stunning!
Granadella beach is a picturesque cove that boasts a small, pebbly shore. Surrounded by pine trees and featured as the backdrop for The Cold Light of Day movie, this sheltered beach offers a tranquil escape from the world. Though it has limited parking close to the shore, visitors can enjoy pleasant views along the coast climbing road from a moderately distant car park.
Beautiful pebble beach with emerald green waters in a very calm and quiet bay

Perfect beach for sun bathing , crowded during the weekend, in September also warm and enjoyable.

Picturesque, very small sheltered pebble beach with cafe. Parking is very limited close to the beach but available a moderate walk away, uphill.
Pleasant views on departure if you take the coast climbing road from the car park.
Worth a visit but beach shoes are a must and be prepared for a walk from the car park

Stunning bay. One of the best! A couple of trendy and relaxed bars with toilets. Water is gin clear and good for snorkeling. We went on a Monday, arriving around 9.15am and about the 4th family there so loads of parking at that time. By 10.30 it was very busy. You'd still get parking at that time but be prepared to walk down hill a long way and inevback up. I'd imagine you'd have to be earlier at the weekend. If you're looking for a place to visit during a holiday, this bay is an absolute must.

Stunning cove with light cliffs rising either side. The beach is pebbly. Getting to and parking at Granadella is a bit of a mission as traffic down to it is heavily restricted (it’s fine at night).
Paul Haworth — Google review
Best beach in the Javea area in my opinion. Beautiful coves and surrounded by rocky mountains.
Sieglinde Czerwinski — Google review
Just beautiful. Pebbles are lively small powdered grey. The sea was electric blue. Take something to sit on, and relax. Winding roads, small car park. But when we left everyone had parked along the road. Driving back up, great views, now more appreciated. No shops or restaurants open. We visited 26.12.23. the sun was shining, we were in t shirts and shorts.
