National Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Koekelberg
It is a large, art deco-style Catholic church on a hill in Brussels. The construction of the church started in 1905 but was not completed due to World War II. The inauguration of the basilica took place in 1970. The basilica is massive and features two towers and two museums.
Wonderful visit, beautiful weather in sunshine, so. Pictures on the panorama terrace are marvellous. Inside, lots of leaded glass works, on the "balcony" a miniature Basilica and a beautiful exhibition. Little shop sells beautiful postcards, info booklets, magnets, etc. I so recommend!
Tuija Heino-McRobert — Google review
One of the best place in Brussels. Highly recommend the panoramic view from the top of the basilica. Great view from the top.
SAM PETER — Google review
It is an amazing piece of architecture and beauty. It has beautiful lush gardens, and entry to the church side is free. It is splendid in view, peace and serenity. There is no ticket to enter, but for panoramic view and elevator entry, there is a ticket. You can walk from city center to arrive herr but there is a direct metro which drops you right infront of door. Very beautiful to watch!

Really beautiful with a big green park right in front. Not that old building but it is worth the visit although the way there is a bit steep
Gon?alo Santos — Google review
Amazing size and place to visit... it's breath-taking
It has a huge garden and you can take pictures from all angles.
I missed to get inside... not sure which times you can visit but I would love to come back there any time.
Has a great view to one main avenue filled with trees

Grandiose, as is the exterior. A gem of art deco. The basilica was built around 1950 I believe, in a modern style. Many people, including myself, don't realize it was built in art deco. 🕌 We always think of places of worship dating back a long, long time ago. This is a truly modern church. Visit the exposition that details its construction on the first floor. The dome is more beautiful still on the inside. The light cascading downwards is a delight. Visit the panorama if you have the courage. I'm afraid of heights. I remained glued to the entrance of the elevator 🛗 but the view is magnificent. You can see every-thing from the atomium to other sights in Brussels and further up. The elevator is an interesting experience too. The roof is transparent and you can see the sky above as you're taken up. A must see if you live in Brussels or visit this beautiful city, so under-rated in my opinion.
Milly Moore — Google review
When we were there in the evening we couldn't go inside of it and I didn't find any opening and closing times so I can't comment on the inside of the basilica. Yet this building is absolutely beautiful even from the outside. If you have some time left you can check it out. It is not necessary tho
Team Tiger — Google review
It is a very big church. Then I knew it is the largest church in Belgium (Roman Catholic) and among the 5th in Europe, it is surrounded by a welcoming park Elizabeth.
But I came there when it closed. I will check later if it is opened to see inside.
From there you can have a very nice view to the park.

Grandiose basilica with free admission. It doesn't flaunt the details. You can go up to have panoramic views of Brussels for €8. Very far from the center of Brussels. Take metro line 2 or 6 towards Elisabeth and walk for 15 min through the beautiful park with views of the Basilica.

This is a beautiful bascilica. There is plenty of space to sit and also excellent spots to click pics. This is included in the hop on hop off tour. The interior are very beautiful.
Ashish Prakash — Google review
This Basilica is definitely worth visiting but it’s a long walk from the main tourist areas of the city. I would recommend taking public transit rather than walking as some of the walk felt a bit risky. Visiting the Basilica is free but to visit the upper levels you have to pay a small fee. I recommend visiting the upper deck if you want to have a great view of the city.
Chris — Google review
Surprisingly quiet place almost in the middle of Brussels, parking right in front of the entrance, opening hours quite limited, so you have to study properly on the Internet, we didn't get to the museum (closed on Saturdays), but the entrance to the panorama was open (you can use the payment machine to get the tickets), we saw the whole church, the 1st floor with the model and some pictures and by the elevator we got all the way up to the roof (viewpoint - panorama), the view is perfect, but I was surprised that the church is very young, I thought it is much older, there is also a small shop and the toilets, we love places like this, everywhere is quiet and peaceful, relaxing atmosphere, people prefer to go to the shopping centers, bars, caffes and of course for beer, but the churches are always empty...
Marek Sopko — Google review
A modern take on the classic cathedral. I visited on a public holiday and it was quiet and perfect for some introspection. The interior is austere and the notable art are the colourful stained glasses. There’s a lift taking you up to a viewing platform.

National Basilica of the Sacred Heart is an incredibly beautiful basilica in Koekelberg.
The architecture is stunning ! The building is actually huge and the symmetry makes it an absolute gem in the region !
In short, coming here when you are in the area is a no brainer ! Free entrance and free parking available 👍🏻
It can get dirty around the structure during summer times because of some people who throw away their waist on the ground.
The only downside is that the neighbourhood is usually very busy. There is always something going on.
I visited the place at 7 AM on a sunday morning, the time you would expect to see no humans and yet, there was an accident right at the parking entrance with a bunch of guys from the neighbourhood and the police..
Jad Badran — Google review
The basilica looks amazing from outside it has amazing lawns where you can spend time with family/friends.
From inside it's not very beautiful though I have seen much better churches/cathedrals.
You can get to take the elevators to the higher floors for a much better view. But remember entry closes at 1645pm.
The entrance is from the rear side.
Sandeep Singh — Google review
National Basilica of the Sacred Heart is magnificent inside and outside. Entrance to the Basilica is free but you must pay for going up to panorama side. Bus and tram stops are just outside both from front and back side therefore commuting there from the center isn’t a hassle.
Engin Gedik — Google review
Beautiful church with interesting architect! Nice to check out if one us close by. You can take metro (line 2 or 6) to station Simonis then walk the nice green area to the church. A relaxing walk on a nice day. The front door seems closed so not sure if it was open. Someone in previous review mentioned Ty’s entrance is kind of hidden. I guess I didn’t look very carefully as I heard one if the elevators are broken and not ready to climb so many stairs today 😅
Waer Waters spa is one of the best in Brussels. It offers a wide variety of sauna options, Relaxation Areas, and tasty food. The spa is also very spacious and modern. The only downside may be that it can be a bit more expensive than other spas around town.
Very spacious, modern, clean wellness. There are enough different sauna's to enjoy, good relaxation areas, great food options. Really one of the best sauna's around Brussels. Price may be slightly more expensive, but the quality of the service and location is worth it.
Ha Tran — Google review
This is definitely a wellness to visit not just because it is squeaky clean, the staff are friendly and helpful with a genuine smile, the food is delicious and varied, the saunas are clean and peaceful, plus fresh fruit scented waters, shower and scrub amenities are all included! This is truly a piece of heaven on Earth! Enjoy the moments...

Great experience! Hotelrooms are spacious, modern, and foreseen of all amenities and top bedding. The Spa is amazing as well, clean, and plenty of possibilities. Even with a lot of visitors, it doesn't feel crowded. Friendly staff, always ready to help you. Dinner buffet was excellent, good choices and not lacking of anything and the breakfast buffet was just a heavenly start of the day! A clear recommendation !

Great experience and one of the best spas I have been to. The booking process was harder than it needed to be as we had to reschedule due to an illness and we had to cancel (with a 35% cancellation fee) and rebook. And our refund was miscalculated by quite a lot - which was sorted once we raised it on arrival but inconvenient. But overall the experiences in the spa are amazing, the food is great, the hotel was comfortable and will be back again soon, for the 3rd time!
Stephanie Bradshaw — Google review
Very rude staff. The girl at the front desk was very emotional and impolite. She didn't try to help and solve the problem, but only denied everything - her only answer was "no". There is no respect for the clients at all. They did not refund the money for the unused service due to their fault and did not want to reschedule for another day. My birthday and my mood were ruined!
Daria Kuznetsova — Google review
One of the top spas we have ever been to!! There was a lot of people there even on a weekday midday but it didn’t feel busy. Everyone respected the rules and were calm and relaxed. If you get a chance make reservations for the restaurant O’cean for an incredible meal that you get to have with nothing on except a luxury robe. Definitely a lifetime experience I would recommend to everyone
Kevin Carter — Google review
You need a break? You like walking naked (or not) without being observed? You enjoy wellness in an area with full service (catering, treatments, (sun) bathing...) in open air for a fair price? Don't look further, this is the place to be...enjoy your stay at Waer Waters
Jean-Pierre VAN DEN BOSSCHELLE — Google review
Best spa and relaxing experience in town. If you can stay for the night at their hotel. Pay a visit to the gym as it’s massive, well equipped and their classes are also amazing. The restaurants are to die for, specially the very relaxing one which I think it’s called Ocean or something like that (the one with the comfy wooden a lush cushions where you can get a delicious Croque!). Their sauna rituals are next level!
All very clean, very attentive treatment from the staff! You couldn’t ask for more!
J Bradley — Google review
An oasis - I’ve loved every visit. It’s spacious, clean, and very well thought-out. Only downside is that people in the “whisper” area aren’t very respectful of the volume level, making it quite noisy, so I mainly spend time in the silent area.
Mia M?ller — Google review
Waer Waters is a little piece of paradise where you can totally relax and escape every day life. After a day of Waer Waters you feel completely zen, ready to take on the world again ;-)
The resort is very neat and tidy and they have a load of different sauna's, hammams and jacuzzi's to pick from. You can never do them all in one visit.
The salt bathing pool is also a very cool experience and there a lot of place where you can have a nice rest in between to read a book and take a nap.
The interior design is very, very nice and there is free water everywhere, something that I find very important because after going into the sauna one needs to drink a lot of water.
The places to drink and eat are all very lovely as well. You can always find something, no matter what kind of drink or food you fancy.
Thanks to all of you for giving us a great experience time and time again!

Amazing spa, yes it’s not the cheapest, but standard and quality is very high. Lots of activities included. It can get busy for a reason, it’s very good. One of the best spas I have ever been to. Super helpful and friendly staff.

The spa resort offers a truly relaxing experience in a nice atmosphere. The buffet had delicious food as well. No phones allowed in the spa area, so no photos to post :)
Slobodan Dimitrovski — Google review
Imagine taking a day off from work to relax, pay an entrance fee of 53 euros and then end up in a sauna full of people shouting and clapping hands because the volume of the music is so high that they feel in a village party ! Bars and restaurants are over priced, the dress code is super strict and if you don't respect it you are obliged to buy their accessories. To conclude, my swimsuit was stolen and they couldn't help me at all, very disappointing customer service.
Chiara Funari — Google review
Top place to relax and have a good time with your partner or friends. A lot of attention to the COVID requirements.
Nice and clean venue with different type of saunas and pools. Nude part is the biggest part. Never get the feeling of a crowded place. Friendly staff.
Pieter Van Wijnendaele — Google review
I visited at my birthday. It was surprisingly many people but there so big venue with so many opportunities so many saunas, jacuzzi, pools that enough for everyone, very comfortable, cozy, respectful and calm, clean with many things, as ice for body, special scrub, and special schedule for different practices and surely beautiful restaurants. For example I’ve been in Sound meditation practice , it was really cool! Just you should pay additional for bathrobe, but like you can bring yours and unfortunately no surprise for birthday, what surprise from such a luxurious place, but the place is really nice. Recommend ))

Used to be way better for rest. Infrastructure is fabulous but atmosphere feels more like DisneyLand during the day. Absolutely no quite space. Super long waiting time for everything.
During the evening, it feels indeed nicer. Somewhat disappointed but the service remains good.

This is a great spa & hotel. I haven’t stayed at the hotel, but have visited for the day at the spa. The welcome and departure is well organized and smooth. You can book a variety of different packages and treatments - for treatments book well in advance.
It is a very large spa with a variety of different facilities and even activities, like scrubbing or special spa, meditations. You can easily spend a day here and the time will fly by.
Lots of indoor and outdoor options, separate nude and clothed areas (make sure you have the correct swimwear - no swim shorts) and a total silence area, which was refreshing to relax in absolute peace with exactly the same facilities as in the normal area. No phones allowed, and it makes it for a truly relaxing day.
The lunch buffet was lovely, many different options for a 3 course sit down lunch. You book the time on arrival. There is also a Bar, where you can drink and apero snack anytime.
Departure was also super smooth, there is also free parking.
Perfect spa day close to brussels.
Alex Filicevas — Google review
They have their politics to be right on time for different sessions (massage etc.) and are not flexible to satisfy the clients demands if any force major circumstances arrive. Very poor Customer service and communication.
Moreover, some facilities are getting older and obsolete, some douches are not working or provide cold water instead of hot
Andrew Krasovsky — Google review
I used the spa on a Saturday in October. Overall a good experience. The fact that you can't use your phone increases the quality of the spa experience.
It was quite crowded and it also affected the quality of water in the pools.
Silent areas weren't always silent. (because of the noisy group visitors)
Restaurant (obergine) had many nutritious options with high quality.
Changing rooms & toilets were clean.
Temperature indoor wasn't well regulated. (must be from pools that are indoor + outdoor at the same time)
Reception & check-in process was excellent. Very informative & welcoming.
I wouldn't recommend this place if you're solo and you'd like to just spend quality time alone in a fancy spa facility. (on a Saturday / public holiday)
I'd recommend if you are into comfort (easy parking, check-in, restaurant with your family / friends etc)

We loved this spa; definitely worth spending the night to get the full experience. Amazing food. We did not experience crowds in August, but based on the size of their locker room, it looks like it can get pretty busy.
K Drake — Google review
It is kinda expensive but it was worth it. We had a wonderful time. We had 2days resort with 1 night in the hotel
The resort had plenty of things to do. Sauna's of different types, pools, Jacuzzi's and area's to relax. Included in the resort are different experiences like scrubs in the hammam, we loved those. The clothes area is a little more busy than the naked zone.
Everything was so relaxed. The food was good. (Little pricey) The breakfast buffet was awesome. The room was very clean and the bed was super comfi. We enjoyed every minute there. We will come back
- minus points there is free water around the resort but you should be able to have a big glass of tab water with your food.
- the greenhouses were awesome to relax but very difficult to access with all the mud.

The best spa in Brussels region so far. Hotel is great as well, very quiet, clean & comfortable.

Today we have visited Waer Waters spa - it was my “present” to beloved one on Valentine’s Day. Unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. Multiple showers were not working, outdoor swimming pools are shallow, buffet was with cheap ingredients, hair in the pools and extremely crowded. In comparison with other Belgian and European spa centers they have poor value for money. The only moment I enjoyed was a scrub session.
Gaasbeek Castle, located in Lennik, Flemish Brabant, Belgium, is a stunning 19th-century castle with romantic architecture dating back to medieval times. The castle houses an impressive collection of artworks and boasts extensive gardens that are considered among the most beautiful in the country. While the interior may not feature much furniture, it still offers a glimpse into the past and hosts various exhibitions.
One of my favourite castles and castle gardens in Belgium. The gardens are extremely beautiful and offer nice views on the castle. The castle itself is an architectural masterpiece. They also have some interesting exhibitions or even dance performances in the garden.

We arrived at the castle too late for a tour as the last tickets are sold an hour before closing. But walking the trails on the property was simply magical. We hope to see the inside if we ever are in the area again.

Currently under renovation. But the park and garden around the castle are a great place to walk and hang out during the day and evening. Across the street is another big park to stroll, icecream shop across from the entrance.

Castle is open for visitors again, in the inner yard of the castle nice café, tables for picnic near the lakes, beautiful forest around. Great for a 2-3 hour walk
Iryna Garkusha — Google review
We were just planning for a walk inside the park and saw this beautiful castle which is now re-opened for public. The last time we were in the park, it was closed under the restoration. We didn't know that in order to visit inside the castle we needed to buy the tickets first at the entrance of the park. And we don't really feel like walking back to the entrance to get the tickets, (Don't understand why they don't have a ticket selling office just outside the castle entrance instead?) So we just visit this beautiful well kept garden this time, which is free, And afterwards have the coffee at the coffe shop.
Staff are very kind and helpful. Highly recommended!

Beautiful castle grounds where the outside looks like a medieval fairytale. The inside of the castle was underwhelming, there’s no real luxurious furniture displace since the last owner donated them to the Louvre museum. So all you see were some weird modern impressionist films being played room to room. The castle has different exhibition from time to time. If you like hiking, then the castle grounds offers acres of glorious green hike trails you can explore.

One of the most beautiful castles in Belgium, as well as the surrounding nature, parking lot by the castle shop, toilets available right in the shop but also in the castle, entrance fee is charged to enter the interior and the gardens, although there is not much furniture there, it is still worth to see, there was a short movie exhibition - horror movies made an excellent atmosphere, the castle is beautiful even without exponats, it breathes by the past, only watching the movies will take you almost an hour, the rooms were magnificent, mysterious, outdoor area strongly photogenic, gardens full of fruit trees and bushes, I definitely recommend it for a relaxing Sunday walk, great place...

The castle is open again after three years now but we were disappointed by the fact that most of the historical objects are not in yet. Instead there is an expo, arty. We thought it would complement the experience but it replaces it, for now.
The full interior will be back next year it seems...
Not a bad word about the team at the reception and in the castle. The restauration team did a great job inside also but it does not take away the feeling.

Château de Seneffe is a stunning 18th-century estate in Hainaut Province, Belgium. It has been transformed into a silver museum showcasing over 500 pieces of French silverware. Unlike many castles, this one allows visitors to explore its beautifully furnished rooms and collections, each with its own story. The estate also features smaller buildings such as a theatre and greenhouse.
We first visited the castle; learnt about its history, the daily life of the inhabitants. There was a provocative exposition installed in the first floor which I also loved. Afterwards, we walked allover the gardens. It's a huge place and we are virtually alone. Such a beautiful castle and gardens.

Beautiful place. Restored starting in the 50's' for over 40 years. Step back in the 18th century. The story is written like a movie, loved it. The garden is fully accessible and very large. The place was very quiet when we visited. Recommeded, we spend about 2.5 hours in total.

A rare castle that has both a garden and furniture+ artifacts inside in Belgium. Usually it's either empty or inaccessible as a private property. This one is a nice romantic place to visit, all rooms with furniture and artifacts are described through a story of a housemaster of some sorts. Loads of objects from all over the world are on display as "souvenirs brought home from trips". Russian intricate silver cutlery, Italian marble bath weighing 2 tonnes, Chinese porcelain, French trinkets and books, tea and coffee beans from Asia. Garden /wall orchard has a number of 100years old fruit trees. Each group type of tourists (solo travelers, couples or families) will find something there. There are some areas of decay as the place needs to be restored further. The question of funds and time but I'm sure they will get there. Excellent staff and excellent information boards in FRENCH / DUTCH/ ENGLISH. no German language information, maybe worth it to do it too.
Excellent place to spend 2-3 hours. Could take less time or longer, if you want to.

We loved our visit at 'Chateau de Seneffe'. An afternoon well spended. Take your time to admire the delicately furnished rooms and collections. Explanations are available in French, Dutch and English. The castle is also surrounded by an enormous private parc. The parc is neatly maintained and shows u the different purposes and use of the grounds during the 18th century.

We visited the distillery on Friday, June 4, 2021. We decided to have lunch here, due to the applicable Corona measures, this was only possible on the outdoor terrace. When it suddenly started to thunder, with heavy precipitation, the waiters did everything they could to offer the customers present a dry seat as quickly as possible, by setting up several large party tents in just a few minutes, for which we thank you very much! Very friendly service and delicious food: our trip was a success, despite the bad weather!

Unfortunately, the atmosphere seemed dull that day and the service was not up to usual expectations. Hospital Our Lady with the Rose, established in 1242, is Belgium's sole surviving medieval convent-farm-hospital complex. Meticulously restored, it showcases the evolution of medieval medicine through a stunning herb garden and various hospice eras, featuring a display of historical medical tools. Notable exhibits include a bird-beaked plague doctor and a 16th-century painting depicting Jesus with a female breast. The site also houses an impressive collection of religious art.
Our Tour Guide was excellent. The lobby and restaurant are very nice and clean. The garden is beautiful, with it's intricate landscaping. The Hospitality was overflowing. The history, attention to details on the displays is impressive. There's so much to capture. Our Historian captured every detail in this Historical Hospital. The Hospital made a tremendous impact in the Commune of Lessines, Belgium. Well done. Highly recommend!

a wonderful place that is definitely worth seeing, we parked on a nearby street, the hospital is almost in the city center, they have free admission on Sundays, English-speaking staff, toilets available, it starts with a short movie, then you walk through the individual rooms with a electronic voice guide, part of the tour is also outside of building - garden and courtyard, the hospital was extremely interesting not only for adults but also for children, I definitely recommend seeing

Wonderful tour with the local Flemish guide who narrated to the history with much passion, wit and detail. Recommend taking the guided tour over the audio guide. Compelling story on a historically uniquely preserved place.

Very old hospital that was running from the 13th century became a museum in the second half of the 20th century. Old times the cure for human soul was even more important than cure for the body. As time went by you can see the development of medicine over several centurys. The collection of old instruments is a bit creepy and makes you feel happy that you didn't have to be a patient old times.
Pille Pata — Google review
As a new resident to Lessines, I was given tickets to visit the museum. The museum also sent a letter to new residents to go collect a welcome gift of books and postcards based on the hospital. Staff were all very welcoming and congratulatory. Audio guide was available in English. I particularly loved the medicinal garden, though it was winding down for the winter. I will definitely make another visit the the garden during spring and summer as it was an ideal place to study plants, with everything clearly labelled and informative, in French.

Very nice place! 😀 They even have kids' panels (in French, no NL or ENG). Audiophones in NL and FR for adults. Very interesting, especially the old pharmacy! Unfortunately it was raining that day but that didn't stop us from enjoying the covered and heated terrace after the museum visit! Also saw the herbal garden for the pharmacy, learned so much about poisonous plants haha. Absolutely worth it!

Great building! One of the oldest hospital in Europe. The tour inside is well commented (audio-guide), shared between the monastic life of the sisters and the medical offering of the hospital (beds, pharmacy, surgery items...) As well as it's history (the hospital ran till the mid of 20th century!)
Laurent Derijck — Google review
The garden is great but the signage is only in French and the audio is in French and Dutch. Inside, I wish the items were described instead of the endless chants on each track. Overall, an interesting place
Pairi Daiza is a 65-hectare park located on the grounds of a former Cistercian Abbey that houses over 5000 animals, including lions, pandas, koalas, gorillas and lemurs. The zoo features geographically themed areas inspired by various regions around the world. Visitors can explore recreated African stilt villages, East Asian temples and the largest Chinese garden in Europe.
Its a wonderful place, we enjoyed every minute in the zoo. Everything is tight and in order, nice restaurants and the most important thing, the animals look great and well maintained. My boys were excited to see pandas, wolves, bears, lions, giraffes, tigers and many more wonderful animals.

This is one of the most beautiful zoos in the World. We actually stayed here with the polar bears for a couple of nights and it was simply breathtaking. I have to say that for me the best part was the bats. It was simply amazing to be in there with them while they flew near you in all directions; this was superb. Plan on being here for at least a couple of days, there is so much to see and you don’t want to miss any of it. It took us two days to see everything and then spent the third day seeing all the things we loved the most. The park is simply beautiful and very clean. All the animals look happy and they have plenty of room to roam around. I can say that the food prices are a bit steep for what it is so maybe a great choice to bring your own lunch. There are plenty of areas around the zoo to have lunch. We signed the kids up to feed the elephants and this was a cool experience for them. Overall highly recommend, beautiful place.

The park is amazing ! And continuously improving !
Spent the night for the second time this year 😊 The first experience was so great we had to come back (and will come again) !
Staying in a lodge is expensive but totally worth it, because you can enjoy the park later at night and earlier in the morning, when the one-day visitors have left 🤩 The park gets calm and the animals start their night life, always a pleasure to observe 😌
Eating in the park is more than what you'd expect, some restaurants even offer more sophisticated menus, but comfort food can be found almost everywhere 😋 Don't forget location influences prices 😅
The whole park is a must-see ! But still try and plan your visits with the feeding schedule, that way observing animals is more entertaining! This can be done very easily, using the paper map given upon entrance or the app, both free-of-charge 😊
I strongly recommend visiting this zoological park, note that it has received multiple times the title of "Best Zoo of Europe" 🥇

This animal park is huge it has different worlds it has 7000 animals. We visited during Halloween there was spooky atmosphere staff in masks, music and other events, 3D light projections. You can spend a whole day and won't see everything. We had seasonal tickets for one year. Entrance is quite expensive but worth it. You can spend some time inside of the area where kids can play. There is also restaurants and many kiosks with food.

From the beautiful grand entry of the place around the whole lovely park till our sleeping accommodations at the Paddling Bear - every step was greeted by a new sight and around every corner a new delight. I thoroughly enjoyed all three days in the park, including both breakfast and dinner at the restaurant Octopus.
Unfortunately, not all the shops were open, so we had to walk all the way back to the entry to get a cup of coffee. Nevertheless, the plants and animals all around were fantastic and I would love to return during another season.

Though pricy, definitely one of if not the biggest and most aesthetically pleasing zoos I have visited. The enclosures are large, varied and well-maintained, and the animals seem to be well-taken care of. I will note that there is so much to see that you simply cannot fully experience everything in just a single day. Then again, I would very much consider another visit.

It has been one of the best zoos I have seen if not the best. Definitely worth a visit.
It has incredible themes built around the zoo it's not only paintings it is buildings and beautiful gardens. I was visiting the zoo in December and was impressed I can only imagine how it would look more spectacular in the spring and summertime.

it offers a memorable experience. From majestic pandas to exotic birds, the variety of animals is astounding. The lush, well-maintained enclosures mimic natural habitats, ensuring animal well-being. The park's architecture and gardens are amazing, complementing the animal exhibits. Dining options and engaging shows make it a full-day adventure. A delightful family outing, Pairi Daiza brings conservation and education to life.

Omg I wish to go back lot of times to the zoo. It’s not right to call Pairi Daiza a zoo. It’s rather a royal animal kingdom. You would get to see a variety of animals, birds, ambiences and habitats as per need of the animals. The place is huge so keep some good stamina to roam around but ensure you cover everything nicely and not miss out any of the beauty preserved inside. If you wish to frequently visit, the annual pass is a better option. Time flies inside there so plan the internal stuff nicely. Make the most out of the visit. And it’s cute to see animal’s getting feeded in their lunch times. If you are an animal lover, this place is heaven for you.

Best zoo in Belgium, you can observe lots of animals in a close distance. For many of them , especially the big ones like elephants or gorillas, they have very huge place to live in. The train is one thing you can’t miss, on the train you can take a good look to the elephants domain, witch what is hard to visit by foot. The whole zoo is base on a old monastery “Cambron” and it’s beautiful. The beer “Cambron” blonde, I like it very much also.

Most probably the best zoo experience. I can imagine that all zoos should be like this - proper zones for animals, and good conditions. This place is probably the closest you will get short of a full safari. Great experience for kids. All places are built to be easily visited by kids, most areas are accessible with strollers. I recommend a full day. There is enough parking for everyone. Be sure to pay for the parking when buying your entrance.

A park is not cheap. But worth it!!! Giant! You have to come for a long time to have time to walk around and see all the animals. There are original animals that are not found in other zoos in Belgium. The guest rooms are amazing!! Worth every euro. the stay the cleanliness. And value for money.

Pairi Daiza covers an expansive area of approximately 140 acres, making it one of the largest zoos in Europe. The park is divided into different themed areas, each representing a specific region or habitat, such as the African Savannah, Indonesian Archipelago, and Kingdom of Ganesha. This place is home to a diverse range of animal species from around the world. Visitors can encounter animals like elephants, giraffes, lions, tigers, pandas, gorillas, penguins, and many more. The zoo places an emphasis on providing spacious and natural habitats for the animals, allowing them to thrive in environments that closely resemble their natural habitats. Alongside the animal exhibits, Pairi Daiza features stunning botanical gardens with a vast collection of plants and flowers. The gardens are beautifully landscaped, showcasing various themed areas like the Japanese Garden, Chinese Garden, and Rose Garden. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks, admire the colorful displays, and experience a tranquil atmosphere.
These include ancient buildings, temples, pagodas, and other structures imported from different countries, creating an immersive experience reminiscent of a journey around there . The zoo is committed to the protection and preservation of endangered species, supporting various breeding programs and conservation projects worldwide. Additionally, educational activities and interactive exhibits are available to inform visitors about wildlife conservation and environmental awareness. Apart from the animals and gardens, Pairi Daiza offers additional attractions such as bird shows, sea lion presentations, and various themed experiences. Visitors can also enjoy dining options, souvenir shops, and accommodations within the park.

Definitely one of the most beautiful zoos you can visit.
The entrance feels like Disneyland & throughout the whole park there are amazing buildings and landscapes. Animal enclosures are integrated in their surroundings.
The park has restaurants and there are places to sit everywhere.
Besides having pandas! the park has a very nice selection of animals. White tigers, beautiful birds, elephants, rhinos, etc.
The park app has a map which makes it very easy to locate everything you need. Sadly it only seems to be in French but it could be I missed a setting somewhere.
This is not a cheap outing: entrance, food, merchandise, etc all cost a fair amount of money. Bringing some drinks and sandwiches is not a bad idea.
However you can easily spend the whole day here if you want to see & do everything.
In my opinion, it's well worth the money considering how lovely this zoo is.

Park is really big, but if you stay the night, then there is great service also with taking bags in reception.. and then the bags will be delivered to your room.. And the same when you check out.. just leave the bags in room, and you will get them in reception when checking out..

Actually, known as the one of the best zoos in Europe I had many expectations. And I was quite disappointed. It’s more like fun park than something showing real wildlife. It’s really cool for people looking for fun and something big, but I was just hoping for more natural vibes. And Christmas music playing around the whole area, even after Christmas was enough for me. The one thing that really gets me the wow was walrus, because I’ve never seen it. Next time, I’d prefer Zoo Leipzig, this is not worth so much money for me.

The Grand-Place de Mons is a historical center with narrow cobbled streets and well-preserved old buildings that showcase the city's rich history. The area features a stunning main square surrounded by cafes and restaurants, offering a vibrant atmosphere for visitors to enjoy coffee, lunch, or wine. The square also boasts an engraved circle displaying the names of the 19 townships comprising Greater Mons. Additionally, temporary art installations like the statues of Plensa add to the square's allure.

The Saint Waltrude Collegiate Church, located in Mons, Belgium, is a Catholic church dedicated to Saint Waltrude of Mons. Dating back to 1450, this protected monument houses the car d'Or and features Brabant-Gothic architecture. The church's grandeur is evident from its Gothic design and towering interior with straight lines and solid stone construction.

The Saint Waltrude Collegiate Church is the magnificent building of Mons. Even from the outside, one can see the church is of Gothic design, although the southern section is covered in scaffolding due to restoration work. The Gothic design is much more obvious from the inside with straight lines of incredible height. Part of that is down to the hardness of the stone used and even now looks so solid. As you can guess from the name, the church is named in honour of Saint Waltrude, whose shrine and reliquary can also be found inside. Her head can be found in the chapel dedicated to her and the reliquary containing her body is held above the high altar for all to see. The church also has some chapels with important sculptures and paintings such as those by Jacques du Broeucq and Peter Paul Rubens. The chapel of Saint Peter is unexpected as it has a wooden sculpture of death to symbolically represent the passage of time, as well as an alabaster sculpture of Jesus symbolically handing over the keys of heaven to Peter.
There's also a free downloadable audio guide, which is good enough to help you understand the history of the church as well as giving good commenter on all the chapels.

A really big church. It already looks big on the outside, but inside it is massive. Definitely have a look inside if you get the chance.
Also a nice carriage and several paintings are viewable. All with QR codes which can be scanned to get an audio commentary of what you are looking at. I believe in French, Dutch and English. All at no cost. Though a little donation is fair.
The Tour of Flanders, also known as De Ronde, is a must-visit for cycling enthusiasts. The museum showcases the race's history and cycling in general, with a shop that can help plan cycling tours in the Flemish Ardennes or Flanders Fields. It features bikes and memorabilia of famous champions, and though most information is in Flemish, it's still enjoyable for fans.
Incredible service. I bought a bike and messed up everything: wrong size, forgot to get shoes and a GPS mount. They fixed it all in 15 minutes, and I was able to complete my route without any issues. It's worth taking a stroll through the store and enjoying a Kwaremont at the café-museum

Absolutely excellent. I watched De Ronde on Sunday and took my bike out on the Cycling in Flanders blue route on Monday. Starting and finishing here is fantastic.
Everyone is very friendly and kind and the double croque monsieur hit the spot.
I drove to Oudenaarde and had to pop my bike back in the car after a typical Flemish day. It would be fantastic if you had somewhere to wash down bikes (just a hose pipe would be perfect) and some not so public bike racks so you could hang your bike up while you enjoyed a coffee and browse of the shop.
Thanks again to everyone here.

***DO NOT EVER RENT A BIKE HERE***
We rented 5 bikes for three days. The bikes were in a very bad condition: one of them had the handlebar tape completely destroyed, two had problems with the gears (one of them did not change to the big gear and we had to do the whole route with the small one) and another one had problems with the rear brake. The wheels were also worn and we had four punctures due to this (and they only gave us two spare tubes when they had confirmed by e-mail in the booking that it would be one per bike).
We had to take two of these bikes to another bike shop for repair because there was not any mechanic who could try to fix them in this place. When we inform of the problems to the people in the reception, they answered us in a very rude way things like "ous standard are different than yours" or "why did you take the bikes if they were in such bad condition, your can rent them in any other place"; when our booking was more than one month ago.
The completely ruined our bike tour through Belgium with their bikes and the horrible maintenance condition they procure.

Apparently there is an audio guide, but they had run out when we visited due to a visit by a large group. Early womems cycling is commemorated wich is good to see. The cafe is friendly but can be busy due to coach parties. There is a tempting shop where you can easily spend money on high quality cycling goods. Not a fridge magnet in sight.

We ordered 5 bikes with different sizes and with 32 pinion cassete, but we got only 3 of them at the moment, but we finally got them, despite in no very good condition. In fact, in 2 of the bikes, the gear did nit shift well and we had to go to another shop to fix it, as well as with a brake that didn't brake. Another bike, at the end of the day began to loose the plate shif, and it finally got stuck in the smallest plate. One of the bikes was delivered with the handlebars totally worn, but they said it wastheir standard and they did nothing to fix it with new tape. All the bikes were found without pedals, that we had to install ourselves. We onle got only 2 air tubes for the 5 bikes and the 3 rental days and one of them was already punctured. They had no technician available during the weekend, fom Friday to Sunday, the days we needed the bikes, and they did nothing to solve the problems we found. No support.
All in all, the worst place to rent a bike and the worst service I've ever seen.

Nice small zoo! We went the weekend after it opened and it was raining and still a bit cold, so a lot of animals were not in their open cages. There's no restaurant inside but there were vending machines. There's a gift shop at the end but the prices were 🤑🤑🤑 super expensive for the same toys you will see in King Jouet or even grocery stotes. You only need about 2.5 hours to see everything. The parking in front is not very big but I think there are other parking spaces around the area.

Had a very fun day out here (me and my partner). Was a nice little zoo with some really beautiful animals. It felt like you could get very close to the giraffes which was amazing. All the animals seemed happy and well cared for. Reasonably priced at €7 a person ish. Nice little gift shop. Decent restaurant, only problem was excessive flies. Knocked a star off because half of the zoo is not wheelchair accessible despite paying full price. Very steep hills and steps in places. Still worth a visit overall

Nice small zoo in the middle of the town, parking in front door but was fully occupied, we spent some time to find free parking place, entrance fee for 2+2 family is 41e so quite good, wc available, but just one in whole zoo, animals were nice but for my opinion not in so good condition like in PairiDaiza, we spent there almost 3 hours there, overally good...

Knocked a star off because half of the zoo is not wheelchair accessible despite paying full price. Very steep hills and steps in places. Still worth a visit overall
This solemn 6.2-acre site, nestled among graceful trees and serene shrubbery, is the eternal resting place of 368 courageous military heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in the liberation of Belgium during World War I.
We loved the profound history, awe-inspiring architecture, and the moving stories of the soldiers who lie at rest here. The central white stone chapel, adorned with the altar of black and white Grand Antique marble, draped flags, and a crusader’s sword, stands as a powerful symbol of their unwavering devotion.
Be sure to explore the Walls of the Missing, where 43 service members are commemorated, and learn about the four main divisions that played pivotal roles in the final weeks of the war.
In the heart of the cemetery, the chapel of white Pouillenay stone bears the inscription, “Greet Them Ever With Grateful Hearts.” Three dedicatory inscriptions in French, Flemish, and English celebrate the enduring memory of the soldiers who fought and sacrificed during World War I.
The chapel’s interior reveals an altar with an inscribed message of hope, a Crusader’s sword, and bronze candelabras. The panels of rose St. George marble carry the names of 43 American soldiers who rest in unknown graves, under the Great Seal of the United States.
An enchanting mosaic ceiling adorned with a lighted oil lamp and doves of peace enhances the chapel’s sanctity. The graves area, consisting of four rectangular plots, holds the white Carrara marble headstones of 368 heroes, with eight Stars of David marking the graves of those of Jewish faith.
On Veterans Day 2023, we remembered and honored the sacrifices of these brave souls in Flanders Field American Cemetery, named after the poignant poem “In Flanders Fields” by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae. Subscribe to our channel, like, and share to commemorate the heroes of this sacred place.

But, it's a place that shouldn't exist.

Without a doubt, one of the most moving experiences I've had in recent years in visiting a cemetery. The grounds are immaculately maintained, the staff informative and knowledgable and accessible, and the dead are revered with the highest of respect at this impressive and hallowed ground. Makes me proud to be an American.

Having been to many of the American Cemetery in Europe, I enjoyed walking around this one. It is the smallest of the ABMC. The parking lot is very small. That would be the only downside. Still nice place to visit and pay your respects.
The Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Tournai is a Roman Catholic place of worship with five towers, medieval murals and a 15th-century tapestry of Arras. Despite surviving WWII bombs, the cathedral's stability was compromised by a freak tornado in 1999. It remains under restoration and will continue to be a vast building site for another decade, although the work on its five towers has been completed as of 2018.
Tournai cathedral is the world best example of the high romanesque architecture, completed in 13th century.
The best way to appreciate the structure is to see it from the top of the bell tower across the square.
Victor Ginzburg — Google review
Majestic from the outside. Unfortunately the interior is undergoing major renovation. The kind that looks like it has, or will take, years if not decades. The gothic choir and one transept are completely blocked off and unviewable. The Romanesque naive and Treasury are still worth a visit. Total visit time including walk from and back to train station was 1 hour 20 minutes.

A very good Cathedral in the heart of the city. It's one of UNISCO's monuments. It was interesting to see this church and read the provided information about it. I like it and I get the opportunity to visit once it's dOne with its construction.
Hanna Afshar — Google review
Despite its history, this Cathedral is not that well maintained. I don't mean the structure, that was under scaffold, so clearly maintenance work is underway, and the treasures museum is currently closed indefinitely. I mean, the internal care. Dirt, dead flower petals, etc. All over the floor. Just not clean.
The history and archaeology is impressive though, so still worth a visit to this UNESCO site.

Unfortunately the cathedral is in restoration, but we will definitely revisit afterwards!! Very pretty!!

Lovely cathedral. There are archaeological works being undertaken which are fascinating. Great organ. Some of the renovations may upset some people but really what you are seeing is history unfolding.

One of my favorite cathedrals in Europe. Just checked in to see how it looks after renovation. Looks fabulous ! Obligatory spot if you visit Belgium.
LocoMarioPL — Google review
Beautiful and underrated cathedral. Really short walk from the center square of the city, with a panoramic, bird's-eye view from the nearby Belfry. No large crowds of tourists, just emptiness and peace. The interior is also always open to enter and respectfully admire, and is quite beautiful.
Rafay Syed — Google review
I can imagine how fantastic the cathedral was and will be - but now its under renovation. Much of the paintings and textiles are visible as photos. But the Treasury is fully functional and a great little museum

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is without doubt one of the best preserved cathedrals in Northern Europe. Unlike its namesake in Paris, this church is built in a mix of Baroque, Gothic and Romanesque. As soon as you enter, the first thing to notice is one of the most impressive Romanesque naves I’ve ever seen, with a beautiful Rose stained glass on one end, but a surprisingly simple Baroque altar on the other. Other than that it’s a bit difficult to know how to rate this visit since much of the building, both inside and out were clad in scaffolding due to an ongoing restoration work which is not scheduled to finish for years. The beautiful stained glass windows behind the current high altar are all hidden by scaffolding. Where it not for the Treasury Museum, some fantastic Gothic stonework and the stained glass windows at the transepts, the visit would’ve been a real disappointment.
This church is without question the star attraction of Tournai. Sadly because of the restoration work, it’s not a must see until it’s complete.
I did however climb up the Belfry of Tournai and got fantastic views of the Church and it’s easier to see the Romanesque and Gothic parts of the church from high up.
The Belfry of Tournai is a significant cultural landmark that provides visitors with an opportunity to explore a dungeon, bellringer's room and enjoy the stunning view of Grand-Place square from its 12th-century tower. For a nominal fee, visitors can climb to the top and revel in the breathtaking beauty of Tournai. However, it is recommended that reservations be made beforehand on their website to ensure availability.
For the small price of €1 you can climb on top and have the most beautiful view of tournai there imaginable. Watch out that your intended reservations should be done beforehand on the website. Nonetheless we got in by asking is the previous group came and if not if we could go instead.

One of the main sightseeing points in Tournai. The tower was built in the 12th century, it’s 72 metres high and has 256-step stairway. It served as a watchtower for noticing fires and enemies and at one point in history also as a jail.

I really liked the shop, but I feel obliged to note poorly based on a very specific experience. Hopefully, someone who can change things will see this and become aware... I needed to use the baby change room. This is more specifically a toilet booth within the women's toilet room which was converted. Which means it is a) ridiculously small, b) extremely noisy, as it is situated near the entrance door and the hand dryer. I had to change my baby in there. Of course, there is no room for the stroller. There is barely any room for me and my kid. There is no coat hanger, no table or room to put a backpack. The person who designed this space clearly never had to change a baby and does not understand that it takes more than the baby and a new diaper. By the time we were over, both baby and mother were in tears and a 3 person line of babies and parents waiting to use the nightmare closet formed outside. I will end by suggesting whomever can change this to go check across the street, at Crack: they clearly understood the assignment.

The Museum of Fine Arts in Valenciennes is a remarkable establishment showcasing French and Flemish artworks spanning from the Middle Ages up until the 20th century. The museum boasts an extensive collection of Dutch old masters, as well as pieces by local artists and renowned later artists. Sculptures by Carpaux are particularly noteworthy. Visitors can enjoy uninterrupted views of Rubens creations during off-season visits which typically last between two to three hours without breaking the bank on admission fees.
Marvellous Fine Art museum with quality patients and sculpture sympathetically arranged in a light and airy building.

A fantastic museum with a huge number of Dutch old masters along with pictures from local artists and a few well known later artists. The Carpaux sculptures are special.
Go during the off season and you will get a room full of Rubens to yourself. Not expensive to get in and easily worth 2 to 3 hours.
There is a small exhibition of archeology downstairs.

The Mining History Centre is a former colliery that has been transformed into a museum showcasing the history of mining in the region. Visitors can explore the underground tours and view the machinery used during that time. The experience is realistic, transporting visitors back in time. Plan for at least 3 hours to fully appreciate everything on offer and wear comfortable shoes as it involves walking. The museum also offers a small souvenir shop and many activities suitable for all ages throughout the year.

The museum is so realistic, you have the feeling of going back to the past.
Count minimum 3hours for a full visit and wear comfortable shoes, it's important.🤪
There's a small shop for souvenirs, many other activities for almost all ages throughout the year.
If you're visiting the Nord-Pas-de-Calais, then you should definitely stop by this museum. It's worth your curiosity especially if you like history though this one isn't a joyful one.
To those who have read "Germinal" of Emile Zola, this museum is the best way to feel like you were present in those days, meanwhile many of us weren't even born when it all happened.😊

Really nice museum, with a very nice collection.
There are lots of stuff and info for small and big.
The entry to the "mine" is very informative.
If you plan to go plan atleast three hours to have time enough to get all the information. We spent nearly three hours with two children and did not manage to see it all.
The reason for only 4 stars is the missing information in English in the permanent exhibition.

The Basilique du Saint-Quentin is a remarkable example of Gothic architecture in France. Its towering spires and intricate details are classic features of this style. The Gothic architecture here is known for its pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and flying buttresses, which give the church its impressive and grand appearance. Inside, the high ceilings and large stained glass windows, typical of the Gothic period, create a sense of awe and spirituality. The Sand Sea is a seasonal family theme park located in the forest of Ermenonville, offering three distinct zones: the Wild West, Jungle, and Desert. Visitors can enjoy a variety of rides and performances while also indulging in fair-priced food options. The park offers an enjoyable experience for families with kids as well as young couples looking for a fun day out.
It's a nice park, not so big not so small. Its for passing a full day with your children or if you are a young couple like us without children. You can still go and you will have fun because there are some attractions for grown ups, there was no line on the day we go. The price is very fair, the food is nice and the toilets are clean. About restaurants more better to have a break before to entry the parc, rates are to much expensive i.e can of any soda 33 cl cost you more 2€80 each; burger menu will start around 17€ included drinks and sweet dishes. Mexicano dishes available, French sandwiches also, half pizza available in a menu for less than 15€. Unfortunately water closet are in very bad condition. Users are not responsible, might be the parc management should think to provide a fee lavatory to the customers.

Worst organization I ever saw in a funpark. Huge queues everywhere! Refusing the kids on the rollercosters because they are 1cm under the required hight after 1 hour of waiting in the line, cause the meters are at the end of the lines. Kids were taller or shorter depending on the meters of distinct rollercosters. A wasted anniversary.

We got a bit lucky because in the morning it was a rainy day and eventhough the sun came out afterwards, there were not a lot of people in the park so we did not stay in line for the attractions. Fairly compact park, so 4 year old can walk. Though letting people get some stroller like devices could be beneficial. Some rides do not mention height at the entrance, so check your paper map of the park to avoid waiting in line for no reason.
This paper is the ONLY source of height requirements for kids accompanied by adults. I think approx 2/3 of rides can be done by persons above 1m height. 3 year old boy enjoyed all the rides. Water rides usually makes you wet in this park, except one big water rubber tire ride.
Public Holiday early June had 1 hour waiting lines for the most popular ride, few had more than 20-40 minutes. You can pay extra to enter at the exit lanes. Plenty of WC, no lineups.
App is in English and useful to know lineup times, everything else about this park is in French. App does not show height requirements, also web does not, except sometimes for adults.
Hotel bookings give you 30 min early access to 3 rides, only 1 of these are available for persons at 1m height - none below this height.
Though along a Paris toll road, you do not need to pay toll to access the park if coming from nearby onramp suggested by Google maps.

Usually you could take RER B and get off at the airport and find the Park Asterix bus and proceed from there. RER B was not working on the day we left, so we had to resort to taking the direct airport bus, which was packed and overflowing with people. So just keep that in mind.

Amazing
For all ages
If you have kids under 12 years old, book the tickets from website will be free, but I don’t know This is permanent or seasonal

The parc itself is ok, and would have been a 4/5 if it hadn’t been for the multiple rides that broke down (multiple times) during our visit, including one while we were on it. Parking was also a bit disorganized, with employees taking payment upon entering using a paper ticket. And even though it was very busy, at least half of the concession stands were closed, meaning long queues at the ones that were open. Compared to other parcs in Europe (Europa or Efteling), this isn’t quite up to par.

Nice park with thrilling experiences.
Not as crowed as Disney, and very recommendable if you are an Asterix fan.
The only thing I would point out is that all the shows and signs are in french and there is not translation to any other language, so sometimes it is hard to understand what they are saying.
Anyway, amazing experience.

So much fun! It has the most exciting roller coaster (compared to Disneyland 👀). Prices are reasonable food wise, but you can also bring you own food. Definitely go to “Attention Menhir!” attraction, it’s a 4D movie and even though I don’t speak French it was so much fun! Will 100% come back in the future!

Lovely park with more than 40 attractions and live shows. Great for family with kids. Rides fits different ages and hight. Food and beverage are everywhere with lots of options.

Great roller coaster experience. I would definitely recommend to a spend a day here. You can come with your bag. Do not forget to bring bunch of water because they are charging 3.30 for water which I think is crazy. At least water price would be lower. Staff is friendly and cautious.

Beautiful winter day. Great park with loads of rides and play areas in a small area! Can see your favourite characters and discover some new ones.

Exciting play ground for kids 👏 and families all year round. Occasionally closed for maintenance in winter. You have to try the Zeus and the blue roller coasters! Christmas gardens was so colourful I had to take some pictures

Great and massive place, but I believe you need for sure 2 days! Even though it is far from Paris, it's worth the effort!

I love it. The park is nicely decorated. What I like about it is that there are a lot of rollercoasters for adults and not only for kids like in Disneyland. I put 4 stars because the waiting time is way too long. 1h30 approx for each rollercoaster.

Can't believe it took me this long to visit, but normally we drive past on our way to Disneyland and then we've had our share of theme park excitement for a while. This Halloween however we made it a point to visit and try the new coaster.
Both Toutatis and the park surprised, as did the hotel and Halloween celebrations. We'll definitely return.

We had the best time at this Parc and hotel. Highly recommend. Great for family or thrill seekers. Exceeded our expectations. Queues midday were getting long. So recommend the fast passes in peak season.

Brilliant and cheap alternative to Disneyland. The rides are brilliant, plenty for the under 1m children. If you go through the week you pay less when booking online. Good at the park is a decent price also but if you can take a packed lunch, it’s an extremely cheap day out. I paid €160 for 5 of us for the whole day. Be aware that it’s €20 to park in their car parks for the whole day but it’s well worth it.

Parc Astérix has been on my places to visit for a very long time, and with the announcement of Touatis, their new launched coaster - I decided it was time to book that trip! After staying the night at their on-site hotel Les Quais de Lutèce (see my separate 5 star review for that) we headed on into the park for a very long day.
As it was their Peur sur le Parc event when we visited, the park was open from 9am until 1am! I didn't think there would be enough to keep us entertained for that long - but I was wrong.
Parc Astérix is a truly excellent theme park, it's well themed, has a fantastic selection of rides and attractions and is operated with maximum efficiency - meaning that even an extremely busy Saturday around Halloween, most wait times for major coasters didn't go over an hour. The only other park I've seen in Europe with this level of efficiency is Europa Park in Germany.
There are some truly outstanding roller coasters in their lineup. Toutatis is their new for 2023 launched roller coaster, and this thing packs a punch. It's absolutely outstanding, but really comes to life in the back rows, especially at night - what a ride! OzIris is another incredible ride, and is now my favourite suspended roller coaster in the world (and I've ridden over 20 of them) - it's simply a delight to ride and the back row is incredibly intense and fun at the same time.
There are plenty of other notable rides that I enjoyed, including Tonnerre 2 Zeus, a massive and relentless wooden coaster, Pegasus Express, a unique a fun family roller coaster and Trace Du Hourra, the longest bobsled roller coaster I’ve ever been on. There’s also a great selection of other rides and attractions, as well as plenty of water rides for the summer - Romus & Rapidus were some especially fun river rapids!
The Halloween event Peur sur le Parc was absolutely fantastic. We stayed all day, and riding their rides in the dark was really spectacular. The park is really well decorated, and offers so many different horror mazes and attractions, and all were such high quality too. Honestly, it was one of the best days out I’ve had in a very long time.
Overall, the whole park is incredible, and I would happily visit Parc Astérix over Disneyland Paris any day. They seem to really care about their park and guests, and it really shows throughout the whole experience. I look forward to seeing what they build in the future to make it even better!
Château de Chantilly is a grand estate that has been rebuilt after the Revolution, boasting a remarkable art collection, an equine museum, and beautiful gardens. The chateau itself is a blend of old and new architecture, with buildings from different eras surrounded by a moat. Once owned by the Duc d'Aumale, it now houses the Conde Museum which showcases an impressive collection of art. Visitors can explore the Large Suites and Reading Room among other attractions.
One of the most beautiful chateau I have ever visited. Highlight to the incredible amount of pieces of art inside the chateau. I felt that I had a double experience: a chateau and an art museum at same time!
Be ready to walk a lot, by the way. The area around the main building is beautiful and huge. Plan to stay at least 4 hours here (and feel free to bring your food to do a picnic in the beautiful garden if the weather allows).

Fantastic french castle. the architecture is amazing and super well conserved. It's clean and the interior just as the exterior parts are interesting.
Gardens were a bit dead but it's seasonal of course.
Overall, it's a really nice Sunday runaway !

Impressive castle from the outside thanks to the surrounding lake adding a medieval feel. Insides it’s mostly artwork and only a few rooms with furniture. The private apartments, where the bedrooms and bathrooms are, are for some reason closed to the public unless you book a completely unnecessary guided tour for extra 7€ which is only available in French. The whole visit isn’t cheap (18€ entrance + 7€ for the guided tour and trains from Paris are 9€ per direction so it’s 40€ altogether) and I don’t know it’s worth the money. Versailles costs the same and you get so much more.

Really beautiful chateau with an exceptional collection of art - the second largest to Louvre. There are 3 pieces of Raphael here (although we only found 2)! 17 euro per adult for the park+chateaux+stables. Family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) is 48 euro. Parking is a separate 6 euro fee. Not crowded and really nice to walk around.

An amazing place! We've visited in Christmas day, and even then we've found a lot of people. Amazing view, everything is in perfect shape, tidy, the castle inside is amazing. I've admired the library. We'll visit it once again in spring to see outside beauty. Great fountains and swans in the lakes!

Fabulous castle and gardens. You need a few hours and good weather to see everything. Make sure to reserve a table or bring food with you as there are no options in short walking distance besides the castle’s two restaurants. Entrance costs 17 euros full price, parking costs 5 euros. You can go in and out the Castle/grounds with your ticket during the day but this does not apply to the parking which is a few hundred meters from the entrance(s).

Photographing a castle is about capturing the very essence of human greatness, architectural creativity, and the history that lies within those ancient walls. It's a privilege to freeze these moments in time through my lens, to share their beauty with the world, and to hope that my images will evoke in others the same wonder and fascination I feel every time I approach these wonders of the past.

We wanted to see an interesting sight outside Paris but near the airport. We chose Chateau de Chantilly without realizing what a great choice it was! It has all the rooms nicely furnished and art is everywhere. It has the second largest number of art pieces on exhibit in France (second to the Louvre). It's also a beautiful chateau at the edge of town with forest around it. Very picturesque ponds, lawn, and waking areas. We were there in winter, but must be very nice to stroll around in summer. They also have the largest horse stables in France. The town is also nice to visit. It was decorated very well for Christmas!

The landscape and place were fantastic. The château is iconic and the horse racing area is unique. Beatiful place for a visit , and close to Paris. However, with 6E entrance for gardens , and 17E the combi ticket, the owners could support beter preservation. The building roofs and statues were full of bird poo and muld. It was sad

I was told it's a place to go to get away from the crowds of Paris. We just happened to choose the day when Real Madrid were in town, and so were hundreds of other people. It's a short ride on a fast train and worth it.

Beautiful palace in a very quaint town. Worth the stroll through the gardens and inside the palace. The amount of art work and other details is stunning in this surprise stop for us. The library offers some amazing 1st editions dating back to the 1400’s. The gardens are well maintained and are enjoyable to walk around (if not closed for filming or other artistic work). The palace is near the horse track and easy to navigate. Great place to escape from bustle of Paris.

The restaurant inside the chateau was perfect. They handled a busy crowd. Létitia the waitress was tops - personable, charming, helpful with suggestions and efficient. Food was better than I expected and not overpriced. The Chateau is a great visit too. (I speak French so not sure what the English experience would be)

Le château de Chantilly:
Wonderful experience and tour. The castle is so beautiful and has such a rich history. It’s been owned and renovated several times from previous French leaders and princes, which is reflected in the art work and room item architecture. This castle was interesting since it’s not as old as other châteaux that I have visited so that was a treat.
Musée du Cheval:
Along with the tour of the entire castle and the chapelle, we were also able to visit the Musée du cheval (The Horse Museum) which is near the castle on the left side of the grounds. This was my favorite experience since we got to visit the horse Écuries (stables) and the actual horses. There were horseback riders presenting their horses and their tricks, too.
Food:
There was a nice café, which was a nice place to relax and take a break. This café is located near the stables. I purchased the day pass which included both the castle tour and the horse museum, so if you want to visit both, be sure to purchase the correct ticket for the entire grounds.
On the grounds of the actual castle, there is a fancy restaurant to eat at. It’s a bit more expensive but it seems worth it!
Kid-Friendly:
Definitely kid friendly and there are several fun activities and informational videos in the museums.

I normally only review restaurants but decided to make an exception for the Chateau because it's such an amazing attraction and deserves to be better known. A half hour journey from Gare de Nord is an enormous mansion full of remarkable art works and artifacts. It also boasts beautiful gardens and a horse museum which has live horses. The town too looks nice although we did not have time to explore. Tip: If you buy the return railway ticket in the station on the day you can buy a combined ticket that includes the Chateau and a bus ride to and back from the station. At 25 Euro pp (3/24) this is great value

Beautiful chateau that is worth a tour! It is filled with historical artifacts, furniture, books, and other well-kept items. The gift shop was lovely as well and it was decorated quite beautifully for Christmas. The view outside is also lovely and is great for taking pictures.
I highly recommend a visit here.

Huge location, beautiful Gothic style French Castle in Chantilly, I took the public transportation RER D to Chantilly station, and took a free bus to the castle. I didn't buy a ticket to tour the inside with a group of people, I bought the ticket at the entrance... There is a restaurant inside the castle as well for lunch. Saw many groups of students visiting the location that day.
The Horse Museum, located in elegant stables, offers an interactive experience showcasing the evolution of horses, their use in sports, and their depiction in various forms. Visitors can explore the alleys and admire the beauty of the place while learning about the history of man and horses. The museum also features live demonstrations and static displays related to equestrianism. Additionally, it is situated near Chateau de Chantilly and beautiful gardens where visitors can spend a leisurely day.
Educational and beautiful museum about the history of man and horses, with the ability to visit some of the living ones in the grand stables.

A beautiful museum dedicated to horses in a magnificent building. Don't miss the dressage or the shows if you can but be warned, there is NO numbered seating and it is chaotic trying to sit together as a family. They could organise this much better.

You need to visit Château de Chantilly and the horse museum. Go see the show
Love it

The horse show is terrible.
1st reason is the show is in French that you don’t understand anything, second thing is you dont see anything interesting. Horses dont jump or I dont know, they dont do anything interesting. They are just walking. You can see walkers horses anywhere in a rural area. No need to pay for this show.
Mikail Bayir — Google review
A one of kind equestrian museum, with live demonstrations as well as incredible static displays. You can easily spend an entire day between the museum and adjacent chateau and gardens. A short train ride from Paris.

If you don’t speak France I suggest you just skip the show (about 40mins) and pay you time in the museum or in the castle.

I went to the horse museum with my best friend for an private event. It was a bit cold. But we had the chance to walk through the alleys and admire the beauty of the place. The color, the smell ( you like or you don’t). I believe they have also activities for kids.
Sherwood Forest-themed park with a rope course, zip lining & ATV rides, plus archery & paintball.
A real find! You'll have to work on your French communication, but absolutely with it. An amazing range of rope courses, a big maze and multiple bouncy castles. An absolute bargain, especially if you buy your tickets in advance online. Good available as well

Fantastic parc with plenty of activities for all ages. The high ropes are brilliant with various levels of difficulty. The safety instructions were very clear and well communicated by friendly staff.
During our day there, we did the following : bouncy castles (great idea to organise them per age groups), high ropes, archery, mini-quad and bunjee ejection for those thrill lovers!
The zip wires are brilliant and again have various difficulty levels based on your age and ability.
There are plenty of other activities and this definitely warrants another visit!
Thank you to the Sherwood staff for their friendliness. We had a fabulous time!

Nice small park on north of Paris!😊 Lacks animation although many tree rides for all levels. Labyrinth seems old and not fun. But tree rides are definitely the place for. We did not test others parts (paint ball, zip line, archery, quad, poney, etc) which is extra. Picnic area and tobbogans rides are nice. After that we went off Chantilly castle (10 mins ride away) to finish our day!

Fun family park for zip lines, rope climbing, suspended ball pit (!) bouncy castles for all ages. Our family had a fun day. The park is a little run down and food and drinks not great, but there are many picnic tables to bring your own. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

Great time had by all! I went with my wife, daughter and mother-in-law. The staff was super friendly and enjoyed visiting with me while using my “Franglish”. This was my first time to ever visit a ropes course with zip lines. Awesome! My teenage daughter and I competed all day and this was the best daddy-daughter date of all time! I will be back next year when I return to France. Only next time, I will be making it for at least two days. So many courses and too little time.
