Beautiful resort town nestled between 2 cliffs. The pebble beach is wonderful with many cabanas and decking, so it's very easy to walk. A good amount of parking along the beach as well, but, in my opinion, it took away from the beauty of the well maintained, historical Belle Epoch and Art Nouveau buildings that run the length of the beach.
To find access to the cliffside area was difficult and not marked, with the exception of a warning sign that there are many venomous snakes and to be careful. It's worth it for the views and wonderful statue of Mary at the top (sheep and cows too).

Really interesting coastal town steeped in history. The art nouveau architecture can look a little tired but it doesn't stop the charm of the place. Visited out of season, the town shuts down at night and is reasonably quiet during the day. Thursday is market day (in the morning). An easy walk to Treport and a short bus ride to Eu.

Awesome beach with excellent clean crystal clear water. There are public showers and toilets and a plethora of boutiques and restaurants nearby. No sand, but pebbles.

A nice beachfront, chalk rocks and restaurants. Whilst traveling the North West coast of France a good place to stroll plus wine and dine.

Beautiful clean pebble beach, also a nicely restored old citycentre. Surely worth a visit, and free parking in the city centre.

Nice seaside place, with long boulevard. There was street performance and local market, which you could enjoy. The beach is sandy only on low tides, which is like 10 hours cycle (low +high tide). Looking for corals at the foot of the hill while enjoying the sunset made this a great vacation.

Easy way to get from the beach and port to the lovely viewpoint at the top. And it's FREE! What's not to like..

For me, Treport's funicular is a way of transport that you must to test at less one time in your life. Day and night funicular give you an incredible panorama of Treport's beach and town. You can take funicular for free and cross cliff easily. It’s good way to avoid the big hill to join cliff’s high if you want walk on the cliff. If you come in car, it’s preferable to park you in high of cliff and after go down. If you have time go behind high funicular because you have sort of point of view with binoculars.
Léa Selingue — Google review
The perfect way to see the town as views are breathtaking (and makes getting up hill far easier than walking!). Trip is quick and runs all day into the evening, best if all it's free!

Fun way to get down from high cliffs to the beach area. Today (middle of May) the car park and the funicular rides were free, but there are charges in high season.

Lovely view from the top. Camper van parking area with lots of spaces but popular and difficult to get a space in the height of summer so have alternative. The lift takes you down to the town. Allow plenty of time as can be very busy with queues.
The FORGESHOTEL - Domaine de Forges is a charming estate located in a 27-acre park featuring a lake, a beach and lush nature. The hotel boasts various amenities such as a casino, restaurant, bar and health spa. Additionally, the property offers meeting rooms for business purposes. Guests can enjoy free WiFi access and private parking during their stay. The La Table de Forges restaurant serves European buffet-style cuisine that guests will surely love.
Amazing hotel and services, stayed on the gourmet package while touring France on our way back to UK so this is what we needed. Everything was perfect, we were with our 5yrs old boy and we enjoyed all the activities which were amazing and included in the package swimming pool, table tennis, mini golf, tennis, playground. Both breakfast and dinners were delicious too. We will return again!
Apologies if I missed out anything but it’s just so much to do at this hotel.
Thank you again.

Buffet ran out of selections too quickly. The hotel lacked clear signposting from the town/main road. You need to reserve a slot at the buffet early in the servings otherwise they shrug when you are surprised there's only the worst things left.

Lovely old ruin. Charming and low key.
Beautiful walk around the lakes. Take the the small detour through the woods to see the sculptures of French Kings.
Presented in a very French style, quite lunike a typical National Trust property.

below expectations. tour was entirely in french, which no one mentioned beforehand. even the safety instructions were in french. I liked the wolf tour, the bison tour wasn’t great. The food was average.

We went there to eat as it was the only place in walking distance from our accomodation. The place is huge, filled with kitchy native American motives and hunting trophies. I got the buffalo antricote which was quite difficult to chew. They served us very fast, actually it was too fast, I suppose they already had the food prepared and just warmed it a bit. I would not go there a 2nd time.
Valentin Suteu — Google review
Booked a meal for the last night of our holiday only to find out they had no chef to cook so were closed, they had our number so could have let us know, totally useless service. I would avoid this place at all costs unless you want to be disappointed

Nice spot, the tours are interesting and the restaurant feels authentic.
Collection of paintings & carved ivory in a hilltop castle with old cannons, plus city & sea views.
Unfortunately closed however the views of Dieppe are wonderful. The Canadian Memorial garden just below the chateaux walls are worth visiting.

Pretty cool place to visit. Beautiful area with plenty to see without paying to enter museum, but worth the entry fee. Easily can spend 2 hours or more just walking around and enjoying everything. Be prepared for uphill walking. Very limited parking (5 cars at the top), but there is free parking near the beach which is about a 10 - 15 minute walk to the chateau. Defiently worth visiting.
Matthew Allen — Google review
Nice gallery with lots of ivory decorations. Was expecting more on castle itself than a gallery. The view of the city and the beach was great. For the price of the ticket, I think is worth the visit.
E K — Google review
Great views of Dieppe. Remember French opening times: shut for lunch. Lovely to have a walk all around the outside. Best go on a sunny day.
Amanda Geismann — Google review
For sure the visit of Dieppe Castle is a must in Dieppe. Nice castle, excellent view on the city. The museum itself, I mean, okay if you have time, if you will miss it, not a problem. Thanks to the city of Dieppe, parts of the castle you can see without buying a ticket. Anyways, best is the view…
Dieter Anton Berger — Google review
The Medieval Festival was very interesting, a lot of shows, shops, food, the museum was open for free, a lot of music, many beautiful disgused persons.
Madalina Stoica — Google review
The Chateau is a lovely place, it’s very old & historic. The view from there is fantastic! The tickets are around 5 euros small children don’t pay. There’s the bottom part of the castle available, you cannot access towers. It’s like a museum & gallery in one. There’s an Ivory museum too. But gutted as there wasn’t an English guide to read so didn’t actually learn anything about the history of this place. It’s open currently 10-12 & 2-5 and shut otherwise.
There’s free toilets on the premises, it has entrances from the bottom & top of the castle. I wish the people working there were a bit more pleasant but as a sightseeing & historical place it’s lovely. Family friendly. Recommended to visit if in Dieppe.
Mira D — Google review
Excellent museum containing art, amazing artifacts and history of Dieppe. Good value with a tiny gift shop.
Rupert Fuller — Google review
Nice museum, ivery art and old paintings plus maritime escevations from sunken ships
Soren Riis — Google review
If you say you close at 12, you close at 12. You dont rush the visitors out of the door at 11:40 after you have been opened for less than 2 hoirs and for sure you learn some english if you have any pretense of being some sort of a museum guide.
The museum is too focused on its own history and nothing else. Nothing really stood out, but the whole atmosphere created by the staff was unwelcoming and tense

Rue de Chastes, Bd de la Mer, 76200 Dieppe, France
The Rouen Museum of Fine Arts is a notable provincial museum in France, showcasing an extensive collection of art from the 15th century onwards. This prestigious institution houses important works by renowned artists such as Monet, who frequently depicted the Cathedral Notre-Dame in Rouen during his time in nearby Giverny.
Free and pretty! Highly recommend everyone to come here. Their signage is easy to understand, the museum is small enough and not too crowded (personally, I find it very inconvenient if the museum is too crowded and you don't have enough space or concentration to see the works). .
Rachel Ngn — Google review
Fantastic gallery, though a little confusingly laid out. Rooms are numbered but not all and not always logically. Staff helpful and spoke English, there are free lockers on site to store bags too. Art is great with a wide selection of famous artist. Highly recommended

Great museum with a very friendly personnel. We were with little kids who were quite noisy, but the personnel didn't mind and even helped to calm the baby down. Really sweet of them.
As for the paintings - it's a very interesting collection, especially the rooms with impressionists and Dutch painters.
Dasha K — Google review
Excellent museum, the permanent exhibitions are free to visit. Lots of nice paintings and artwork, even some Monets. A must visit when in Rouen.
Lore Clauw — Google review
No need to purchase a ticket in advance since the entry to the permanent collection is free. The small museum has a lot of gems: worth the passage for the visit.

Wow - this place would grace any capital not to mind a regional French city.
Has a huge range of art from about 15th century to 20th with paintings from well know names such as Velázquez, Carravaggio, Monet etc.
And its free to everyone!!!!
Paddy O'Connell — Google review
Amazing museum with some really notable pieces of artwork. Highly recommended since it is free for everyone. There are even free lockers provided and the staff are very welcoming and nice to the visitors. Expect to spend 1-2 hours here at the least.
Allan — Google review
Make sure you get the ticket at the front desk. It's free but you still need a ticket. No signs for that and no info on the website about it. No clear entrance line once you get into the museum but someone will show up and ask you about the ticket.
Security will check your bag and water bottle is not allowed. A free museum coin will be granted so you can store your things at the storage area downstairs. The whole museum is indoor so feel free to leave your coat, hat, scarf, etc at the storage
Most staff at the museum are nice and friendly. I got to chat with two of them, and ask questions about the paintings. They may not know the technical details but they are willing to help and share what they know. (I did speak French with them so not sure how experience might be different for other language speakers)
The place seems to be kids friendly. I bumped into a group of kindergarten kiddos and they love to ask my name, who I am, if I am a volunteer ;)
The museum's impressionists' collection is worth the visit alone. Doesn't take long to go through the whole two floors. 1-1.5 hours in my opinion
Cecile Dong — Google review
Some rooms like the one with Mpdigliani had no light.
On a cloudy day it was very dark to see.
Also many important explanatory signs were only in French.
Some well known painters were a pleasant surprise
Ettoile Z — Google review
A great place to visit and see how Rouen has influenced artists throughout centuries. The impressionists are the star attractions but I also loved the huge paintings near the end of the tour round. So much to see into them! Plus it's free to get in!
Kelly O'Haire — Google review
A lovely museum in a lovely park. I enjoyed my 2-hour long visit (permanent collections did not require a ticket). There is a very interesting collection of art, including several works from geniuses like Caravaggio, Velazquez, Ribera and Gericault, as well as less known but none the less interesting Dutch and Flemish artists... and many more. Also the "anamorphose" by Domenico Piola (after a painting by Rubens) was something I've never seen before. The museum is not crowded, so one may enjoy art in a pleasant meditative atmosphere.

We visited on a cool spring day, as part of a day in Rouen. Helpful security/staff took our umbrellas for safe keeping, and pointed us to the cloakroom for the lockers (need 1€ or 2€ coin to close, refunded when opened). The fixed sculpture and painting collection is excellent, and when we were there a David Hockney exhibition, which was very impressive. Our only disappointment was that the cycle parking is in the square outside, consisting of hoops for about 10 bikes, and despite obvious CCTV a Kryptonite lock lying in pieces by the hoops suggested bikes are stolen from there regularly.

If you are in Rouen make a plan and visit this Miseum, the entrance is free and you can have aquick visit of 2.hours at least. Staff is very kind and friendly.
The Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Rouen is a stunning example of Gothic architecture, built in the 12th century. It replaced an earlier Romanesque church and underwent construction over several centuries due to various obstacles. This historic monument showcases its beauty through Claude Monet's paintings, which highlight its significance. Visitors can take tours of the cathedral, including a visit to the remains of a crypt from a previous Roman structure located on-site.
This Cathedral is an amazing piece of art built and rebuilt over eight centuries from 8th to 16th century, with an earlier one standing there as early as 4c. Therefore, you can spot very different architecture styles best seen in its three towers each in different style - Gothic, Flamboyant and Renaissance.
The facade is simply astonishing being the one of the best I've ever seen, and I saw hundreds of them all over the world.
It's grandeur is overwhelming compared to Rouen size which is in fact a small city. The interiors are pretty much the same as many others in this part of France with huge tall Gothic arches, fantastic stained glass and rose window.
On the square in front of it, by the right tower is a plaque signing the place from where the famous impressionist Monet painted many paintings of the Cathedral in various weather conditions and different times of year.
Another spot of his from where he painted, as well a beautiful place to capture the entire Rouen panorama is Cote Saint Catherine (see that review), from where you can clearly see how this Cathedral dominates the city.
Dejan Braki — Google review
One of the most popular landmark in Rouen. The cathedral is accessible at any time and you’ll be delighted to discover how big it is. The statues, the window glasses. Come in and enjoy
Eric Jetner — Google review
In the early evening (in August) the sunlight falls beautifully on the cathedral. Next to the cathedral there is the cathedral’s garden that is worth a look.
There is an impressive light show (Google Rouen Cathedral Light Show and check the hours - until September 19, 2021). The light show (with two creations) plays twice in succession. We also stayed for the second showing and the big crowd was gone. It felt more like a unique experience.
Matthieu Covemaeker — Google review
What a place. Visually stunning, some seriously old stained glass windows. Free entry. They are renovating various parts at the moment - but there is a lot of original architecture which is amazing.

Rouen is a beautiful city in the Normandy region of France. This city although small is one of the prettiest I have ever visited.
The cathedral is just one of the city’s rich architecture. The cathedral is imposing and can be seen from various points in the city. It is nice inside but fairly modest than cathedrals and churches in Italy.
The surrounding buildings are beautiful. Rouen is a place you have visit to see it for yourself. You can reach here from Paris by train. It is fairly easy to get there by car as well.
It’s free entry with a small gift shop inside.

Absolutely stunning cathedral amazing stone decorations/carvings on the outside and the inside of the building
Got to admire the detail and pure talent of the stone masons
The stained glass is stunning
I'm not religious but you really don't have to be to admire and be in awe of this truly beautiful cathedral
It's open to the public and free of charge to go inside and look around or pray if you want
But it does kindly ask for a voluntary donation.. Please do
As this helps preserve this truly important
Piece of history for the future
Inside it has a number of chapels and tributes to various saints
My reason for my venture inside was to see Saint Jeanne of arc as Rouen is steeped in her history
But many other saints are prominent inside
Words truly do not describe this cathedral and I could go on and on about the stained glass windows
The high arc ways that go so high inside
The highly carved alters etc..
But one thing I must mention is don't miss the 15th century stone staircase..
So if in Rouen this cathedral is a must see
mark smith — Google review
One of the most famous sights in Rouen, the Cathedral is really imprssive. The building is huge and one of the tallest in Europe. It began to be built nearly 900 years ago, and survived fires, wars, hurricanes, etc. It was painted by Monet and other artists. The entrance is free. You can see tombs of some of the rulers of Normandie inside.

Beautiful church lovely lady in the church shop spoke English very helpful I asked her to open cabinets and she was very helpful. Lovely to see so many lit candles in memoriam. Considering it was badly damaged during the war the restoration has to be admired as it blends in so you really can't tell.

The vast cathedral with notable spires seen across the river from all over the quaint little town. Beautiful is least to say. A must visit if you are walking around Rouen.
They do guided tour and price is nominal. Climb up the tower to have a great view of whole city.

Rouen cathedral is a must see when in Rouen, in the summer months , they have an interactive sound and light show beamed onto the front of the cathedral every evening, something which may have Richard the lion heart (buried inside) turning in his grave. The cathedral is grand , with a decent array of normandy medieval tombs and good stained glass. There is, though, something that doesn't quite elevate it to say Amiens cathedral architecturally although the historic tombs more than make up for that in many ways. The light show outside in the evening is well worth a look so do come back to take a look at that too.
kevin mills — Google review
Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Rouen stands as a magnificent testament to Gothic architecture, a marvel that captivates visitors with its intricate details and soaring spires. Beyond its architectural grandeur, what makes the experience truly magical is the enchanting Christmas market that unfolds in front of the cathedral. The market adds a festive charm, transforming the square into a winter wonderland of twinkling lights, seasonal treats, and artisanal crafts. The juxtaposition of the cathedral's timeless beauty with the lively holiday spirit of the market creates a unique and memorable atmosphere, making a visit during the Christmas season to Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Rouen a truly delightful and festive experience.

One of the oldest villages in the Country of Co (Pays de Caux) and the most beautiful villages in Normandy. Veul-les-Roses will enchant you with its landscapes: the charm of its seashores, rich architectural heritage and greenery along the shortest river in France - the Veul. The length of this river is only 1100 m. Walking along its banks, you will discover the history of the village (mills, resort villas, flower houses, churches) and come out to the sea with a sandy beach.
You will find buildings of various styles here - from rustic wooden houses and fishermen's houses to chic villas of the early 20th century, as well as small and large gardens with an abundance of flowers, especially roses.
Hanna Shaposhnyk — Google review
It is a small valley nestled in the Pays de Caux, between the alabaster cliffs. Between the banks of the Veules and the seafront, a village stretches out where Belle Époque villas rub shoulders with old half-timbered Norman houses. At first, painters and intellectuals from all over Europe stopped to visit Veules-les-Roses and eventually succumbed to its charms.
You simply have to visit Veules-les-Roses! Stroll, stroll, stroll in this village which alone concentrates all the charm of Normandy. It is one of the most beautiful in France and one of the oldest in the region.
It was built in a valley, a depression in the cliffs which gives access to the sea. Everything is there, from half-timbered houses to old mills, including Belle Époque villas and bath cabins.
The smallest river in France which is 1149 meters long. This is one of the peculiarities of the village and you should not miss to walk along it obviously. You can start the walk on the waterfront to go up the path to the source of the river. You will come across old stone bridges, half-timbered thatched cottages and old hotels.

Without any knowledge, we were 100% guided by the staff of Maison Clet who offered us personalized wines based on our menu. They were extremely commercial in directing us to bottles that were sometimes below our budget.
All the guests LOVED all the wines that were recommended by the winery.
Their wedding formula which allows you to bring back excess bottles after the event is very practical and ensures that you don't run out of bottles on the big day :)
I recommend 100% for a wedding!

Immerse yourself in the timeless beauty and rich history of Abbaye de Jumièges, a vast monastery founded by Saint Philibert in 654. Nestled in the picturesque Seine valley, this ancient abbey offers a mesmerizing blend of tranquility and charm. The magnificent ruins and ancient church provide an unforgettable experience, while the surrounding scenery with its ancient trees adds to the magical atmosphere.
Lovely ruins that accentuate the vastness and magnitude of the Abbey from its original condition, with much more light, wind, and birds flying through. The Abbey feels like mystical and romantic ruins that are waiting to be discovered. Really enjoyed my visit, and it was a great break from other attractions.

Amazing ruins of ancient church. It's very interesting walking around and discover beautiful point of view. There are many chairs to rest, I went here in january so the weather was very cloudy, but in the spring could be better. I suggest to visit during the week, when there are bit people. This Abbaye is a magic place, where closing you eyes and imagine the ancient atmosphere. The ancient trees enrich the scenery.

Great ruins. You can see nature attempting to grow on stones.
Look for a drawing of a monk about 8 feet from the ground.
Huge trees.
There are benches / chairs to sit on if you need them.
We were there on a sunny day. It was beautiful.
Monastery founded by St. Philibert in 654.
In the ninth century, it was pillaged and burnt to the ground by the Vikings, but was rebuilt on a grander scale by William Longespee, Duke of Normandy (d 942).

One of the most peaceful and hidden gems we visited during the last weeks.
Lean back, soak in the atmosphere and be inspired. There are plenty changes to sit down and enjoy. Sometimes there are exhibitions in the manor closeby. During our visit, there was an exhibition of a local photographer. It was included to the entrance fee.
You can park on the opposite side of the main entrance.

Wonderful ruins of an abbey built in the 900’s (yes! I did not miss a 1 there). Its history tells you the history of Normandy, the Vikings, the 100 year religious wars, the Industrial Revolution, the Romantic period — all of it.
Highly recommend, can be combined with a walk in the nearby Breton Forrest.

A Timeless Masterpiece: Unforgettable Experience at Abbaye de Jumièges
The visit to Abbaye de Jumièges is an encounter with a timeless beauty, an eloquent testament to centuries of monastic life and Norman history. This ancient abbey, nestled in the verdant Seine valley, offers a mesmerizing blend of tranquility and charm that is impossible to forget.
First and foremost, the ruins themselves are truly magnificent. The soaring towers, echoing remnants of what was once among the most significant and powerful Benedictine monasteries in the whole of medieval France, stand in silent testament to the changing courses of history. Whether you are a history enthusiast or not, it's impossible not to be awe-struck by the sheer grandeur of these ruins, imbued with the spirit of ages past.
Strolling through the park-like setting is a treat for the senses. Nature has reclaimed the site with grace, wrapping the ancient stone with verdant vines and trees that offer serene spots to sit and reflect. The peaceful environment is ideal for relaxation and contemplation.
What makes Abbaye de Jumièges stand out even more is the way it beautifully blends past and present. Throughout the year, various cultural events, concerts, and exhibitions take place here, bringing the ancient stones back to life and allowing the abbey to continue to serve as a gathering place and cultural hub.
The visitor center is well-organized, with informative displays providing insights into the abbey's history. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, eager to answer any queries. There is also a small gift shop filled with a variety of interesting items and books.
All in all, the Abbaye de Jumièges provides a profound, enriching experience that speaks to the soul. It's a journey through time, a connection with history, and an unforgettable encounter with the serene beauty of nature. A definite must-visit for anyone touring this part of France.
Highly recommended for those seeking an immersion in history, culture, and tranquility.

A place sure worth visiting. We were intrigued by the history of the ruins and nature. The information leaflet we received upon entry was helpful to grasp the richness and magnitude of the abbey. The house at the far end did not meet our expectations, but we were happy to have walked down there anyway. For parents: better to use a baby carrier than a stroller to make sure you can get around the entire terrain.

We visited this wonderful castle on our way to Paris and we really enjoyed this opportunity, although we didn't have enough time to see the interior of the castle, but only the gardens, we were pleasantly impressed ,the pictures do not even half reflect the beauty of the place even in a cold and gloomy period like January .
We were also impressed by the halls and the entrance to the rooms for rent, the decor and atmosphere are special and seem very lively and not necessarily museum pieces like in other castles, although their beauty urges us to take care .Definitely a place where we will return with more time at our disposal to admire both the castle and the gardens. 💚💙

My family and I were very upset about the keeping of pigeons! The three of them were locked in a cage with no plants. It looked really sad because the other pigeons had a paradise outside the cage. Unfortunately, our stay was somewhat ruined because we had a very bad conscience. I hope that this will soon be changed and the pigeons will get an animal-friendly enclosure!! Otherwise, we liked the castle and the park, as well as the animal collection, very much! Especially the grotto. Unfortunately, the newer park area with the Indian garden was not yet completely finished and accessible.

Amazing find. Honestly not expecting such an incredible garden. Price is high but helps with maintenance of the gardens so it’s worth it.
Easily spent 2 hours exploring and that was in the rain. That’s how good the gardens were. Reminded me of the gardens of Versailles but just in a smaller scale.
Arif Zaman — Google review
have tried to visit on several occasions but opening times are a bit erratic (as often in France). But got it right this time & it was worth it. The scale is spectacular, the planting & maintenance impeccable, the vistas & garden buildings and architectural tricks a constant surprise & delight. The hedging, topiary, ground cover & specimen planting was varied, ingenious & at times quite theatrical, especially, the emerging tour de force of the yew topiary lions (sphinxes? dogs?) . Good for us that there were very few people there: in England it would be packed.on an Sunday in August. For me it is one of the half dozen best gardens I have seen in France.
We had lunch in the chateau restaurant; caesar salad. It was sound and fair value but uninspired. The decor is a bit overpowering & too dark.

Visited the abbey several times in the past years. It is a beautiful place. Last time (in 2018) we got a tour in the abbey church by one of the monks. It was very interesting. The museum shop has moved in another building. The monks sell self-manufactured tableware, religious books and food. The buildings are in good shape. The bell tower Saint-Nicolas is impressive. It's definitely worth it to participate in a guided tour. Have to speak French though.

3 Pl. de l'Abbé Herluin, 27800 Le Bec-Hellouin, France
The Palais Bénédictine – Visites et Bar à cocktails is an interesting 19th century rebuild palace with historical medivial facts. It has a great collection of art exhibits and antique books, as well as a bar where you can try different cocktails.
It was an interesting visit, also giving you the chance to enter this beautiful palace. Unluckily there are only two kinds of tickets, children and adults, a bit expensive because they include several liqueur tasting even for the people who do not drink. There is a fresh welcome drink served with lime juice, then the tour starts with the discovery of flavours, ingredients and history of the liqueur, ending with the final tasting of all the kinds of Bénedectine that are produced, and that are also available in the shop.
monica pronzini — Google review
I visited this palace together with someone who doesn’t speak neither understand french, and we were the only 2 people who said to the guide, Samantha, that we don’t speak French. I can understand french (as I speak a bit and my mother tongue is Spanish), I noticed that Samantha was giving quite more information in French than in English, what I consider as not professional guide in a touristic attraction like this. I asked her about an explanation that she made in French about where the spices come from and she said to me that I could read that information in the description of every spice. Well I was wondering why she is a guide, if I can read any information. I thought that a guide is there to explain more than what is written and to answer questions from visitors. Samantha made us feel really uncomfortable treating us like this and taking us beside the rest of visitors. I have been many times in France and I have felt myself like at home, when people speak to me about the stereotype that French people are arrogant, I was always denying such stereotype, but I guess people mean the attitude that Samantha showed me there. It is a pity.
Beside that, the castle is a beautiful place and has an interesting history. As for the liquor, I guess it is a personal taste, for me it was too sweet.
Hoostins Miranda — Google review
An interesting place to visit; fabulously ornate build which was actually built in several old styles. It was interesting to learn the history of how Benedictine came about and also a bit about the process for making it. A tasting at the end of the tour was the ideal way to conclude the visit!
DR77 — Google review
Interesting place to visit. Only organized groups tour are allowed. We didn't have English speaking group, so joined a French language group and received a brochure to follow up. A couple of rooms were closed, so the tickets' price reflected that - it was correct. The guides were pleasant and answered our questions in English, when was possible. The video went into loop, so the group was seating and watching it second time - probably scared from exam at the end of a tour:)
The tasting was well organized with 3 out of 4 type of spirit presented.
Overall - a pure touristic spot. We left with a feeling that it was questionable to drive 45 minutes for it.
Average value for your money.

Interesting visit. Amazing building and museum, followed by another really interesting visit of the distillery and cellars and then finally a tasting. English language tours available. Do I like Bendictine? I don't know, but I remember my parents had a bottle in the 70s, so I bought one.

This is a fascinating distillery with a fascinating history.
Benedictine is a recipe from Venice that contains 27 herbs and is used as a medical tincture. During the French Revolution, the monks were expelled from the monastery, and a family connected with the monks' financing discovered the recipe in a book and began producing it again.
Akexandre Le Grand was a wine merchant and a brilliant marketer, and his sales skyrocketed. The distillery, which is now owned by Bacardi, continues to produce the liqueur. The alcohol is sucked into large tankers and transported to a bottling plant.

It’s an ok garden, don’t know and can’t imagine what all the buzz is about. We have paid 50 euros to look at rows of green bushes. No parking nearby, you either have to climb the cliff or take a train from the car park at the bottom(which is always busy)
The views from there are great, especially on a sunny day. But even now in march, when flowers like tulips and daffodils are in abundance, there weren’t even one in sight.

It's beautiful and really fresh place but it's extremely small. You wanted to enjoy the calmness of nature and the perfect view to the bay, but you could not: a lot of people hanging around here. Nice, there is some art works of Ukrainian designer Bazar Bilyk. But the price in 12€ is a bit too much

Great gardens, with great art. A bit busy and therefore it was difficult to park the car. After finally finding a parking place it is a steep walk up the hill to reach the gardens. I refused to take a tourist train for 8 euros 😁. The gardens are beautiful though.

Absolute MUST-visit place! A collage of a group of international artists' work assembled together in an inspiring way. Yet, they fit together in a fabric of extremely well-tended and organized garden greenery. Strongly suggest to pickup a brochure at the tickets stand to make sure you don't miss anything. The gardens area is not large, which is good, giving ability to cover it all in the reasonable time. And get back to what talks to you the most. Have coffee shop on site - very useful for a break. Well worth the 12 Eur entrance ticket.
Do not miss!
HIGHLY recommend!

As a person loving nature and as a garden designer, I have highly enjoyed walking through these gardens. I am huge believer in combining garden design and art. Gardens of Etretat are one of the best examples of combining these two elements in a very inspirational way. I will definitely return in other season, too, to see how it’s changing throughout the year. I especially LOVE the metal sculptures called Space Between that, combined with seemingly simple planting, create a unique outdoor art&garden exhibition. Really well done.

Jardins d’Etretat is an iconic place in the north of France. It not only appears in Monopoly French edition )) but you may find it on famous paintings (like Claude Monet, Henri Matisse) and postcards as well.
You can’t get to the Gardens by car. So to make walking uphill easier - take rue Jules Gerbeau to get to the gardens and use the stairs to go back (that way you naturally enjoy the view all the way down).
Take your time, don’t be in a rush, read the signs - otherwise you don’t get full value of your visit.

Amazing gardens, a must see. Very well maintained. It is a bit of a hike to get there and as the gardens are on a cliff I would.
The entry fee is 12 euro per person, which I thought was a bit expensive.
You can walk through the whole garden in about 1 hour, including time to read the descriptions at the various locations throughout the gardens.

The Chapel of Lady of Guard overlooks the ocean from a cliff top and is a reconstruction of the Sailors Chapel from 1856. It is a beautiful neo-Gothic building with fish gargoyles on the roof. The chapel is not open to the public, but wonderful views can be had from nearby beaches.
very haunting and beautiful church, great view. Rocky road to drive up but possible.

Pros: we arrived on Friday evening, the weather was bad so we had no problem to park for free right by the beach, otherwise there is for sure a problem with parking because the parking lot ia small and nearbay streets are narrow, the cliffs were nice - you can climb (walk up) on both sides, but I was much more excited about the stony beach and the gorgeous sounds that the waves made as they hit the rocks, it was an incredible experience to hear the power of the sea, we went up to the cliffs, took a few photos and returned back down, it's a very interesting place, worth seeing and especially for hearing, Cons: watch out for children - there are no obstacles on the cliffs - it is a extremelly dangerous area !!!

Towering white cliff featuring a monumental natural arch eroded by the sea, accessible at low tide.
Totally worth to walk up here to enjoy the views. Avoid weekends and hours after noon. It gets too crowdy and noisy
Gerardo Garc?s — Google review
Absolutely stunning place. There is an easy to moderate hike starting from the city center and ending at the light house, takes about 1-2 hours. Stay safe, don't come too close to the edges of the cliffs.

The beaches are filled with pebbles, not sand. The landscape indeed looks like an elephant.

Amazing place to visit and enjoy the natural beauty. Take some time to climb up to see the view from the cliff. And very recommend to have some time to spend on the beach, just listening to the waves. Peaceful, relaxing and recharging place.
Highly recommend.

Getting to see this beautiful view is just a low to moderate hike. Me managed to get up right before sunset, and on our way down, we saw an amazing moonrise. Very lovely!

Beautiful views and trails, wasn’t too busy at the end of September. It looked like if the tied had been out you could have walked at the base of the cliffs as well which would have been pretty cool. Very nice town with lots of restaurant options.

Amazing walk and amazing view. Not difficult up the top. And rewarded with beautiful views of the cliffs

Great place to spend 2-3 days. Parking is a little expensive so it is recommended to park 15 minutes by foot outside the town which is half the price as the parking spot inside.
Outstanding food - would rate 8.44/10

AMAZING place to visit, what a fantastic view from up there! You can take a short walk (kind of easy) up the hill to enjoy and admire what nature has to offer. I felt fantastic when I got to the top !
Great place for beautiful photos, there’s also a little cave between big stones pretty cool to check out.
Pet friendly.
The Pont de Normandie is a remarkable toll bridge in France, spanning 2,141 metres over the Seine estuary and linking Honfleur and Le Havre. This cable-stayed structure boasts impressive engineering feats, including two 214-metre-high pylons and an 856-metre-long central span supported by 184 cables. Pedestrians and cyclists can also access this bridge, providing stunning views of the estuary from various vantage points throughout the day.
My sister was studying French in evening classes for adults in the UK and in her class they talked about the Pont de Normandie, so it is famous. The ascent up the bridge is steep, so do not come here if you are scared of heights! The view is spectacular similar to the Millau bridge in the south of France.
Peter M — Google review
Works fine by bike. Just DO NOT USE the bike lane. Use the side walk. If you’re scared by heights, push your bike and don’t look down. But fine to walk, even in strong wind. The cars’ noises are scary and the wind is, but one gets used to it.
Maximilian Haeussler — Google review
Fantastic looking bridge, looks scary to cross from a distance, but is fine actually! Some gret views as you cross, better to be a passenger!
Doolan Associates — Google review
I've been wanting to cross this bridge for quite some time. I was finally able to do this a couple of days ago and it didn't disappoint. The elevation was more than I expected, making it quite the experience indeed

It’s nice to pass by even if it’s not on your path once in Normandy 🌉🌁
Note: the entrance is paying tho

Connecting the cities of Honfleur in Calvados and Le Havre in Seine-Maritime, the Normandy Bridge (Pont de Normandie) is a perfect reflection of French civil engineering expertise. With a length of 2,141 metres, it spans the Seine estuary and is one of the largest cable-stayed bridges in the world! Equipped with 184 cables, it consists of access viaducts, two 214-metre-high pylons and an 856-metre-long central span.
From the road bridge, which is also accessible to pedestrians and cyclists, there are numerous viewpoints over the estuary, offering a whole range of landscapes and colours depending on the time of day.
Fazal Rahman — Google review
A nice bridge to use, with a view of the Seine. The toll booths are on the northern side of the bridge, cash payment is about 5.80€, so not unreasonable
Andrew R — Google review
Pont de Normandie connects Le Havre on the north with Honfleur at the south. It spans the Seine estuary with the English channel.
The bridge is pretty long, in fact there two parts - one over a smaller Seine canal and then over the Seine.
As you might expect there's a higher toll (some 5, 6 Euros) to cross, but worth it for the views and saving your time.
Dejan Braki — Google review
Construction by Bouygues, Campenon Bernard, Dumez, Monberg & Thorsen, Quillery, Sogea and Spie Batignolles[2] began in 1988 and lasted 7 years. The bridge opened on 20 January 1995.
Sabine Luyck — Google review
To be honest it's a bridge, roadway at its highest point is 26 meters above the River Seine below. Its more impressive to drive over than go under.
Can't help thinking if it wasn't there, it would be an exceptionally long route from Le Havre to Hon Fleur and surrounding areas. It must provide significant financial and economic benefit to both areas north and south of the river
The Catholic Church Église Sainte Catherine in Honfleur is a 15th century wooden church with chestnut shingles. It was originally intended as a temporary structure, but it has been used over the years as a place of worship and now stands as an important part of the city's history. The interior of the church resembles two overturned ships, and it is full of paintings, art galleries, and restaurants.
Gorgeous timber church. I was fortunate enough to catch a few young ladies practicing a beautiful song.

Also one of the few public toilets in the area is right outside.

Fascinating history of this wooden church with two naves and a separate bell tower so that the bells do not weaken the structure of the church. Very peaceful inside. Dedicated to St Catherine who was martyrd on the wheel. Hence Catherine wheel firework.

On a recent trip to the picturesque town of Honfleur, I had the privilege of visiting Église Sainte-Catherine, an architectural marvel that proudly holds the title of being the largest wooden church in France. I was immediately captivated by the church's unique charm and historical significance.
At Église Sainte-Catherine, one cannot help but appreciate the dedication and preservation efforts that have gone into maintaining this remarkable structure. The atmosphere here is serene and contemplative, providing a sanctuary for quiet reflection and spiritual connection.

Beautiful all wood made not metal in construction cathedral with Viking ship making vaulted roof looks like the upside down hule of 2 viking ships. So impressed it has survived from 1500s through the war

The Saint Catherine's Church is the oldest and biggest wooden Church in all of France. It dates back to 15 century when it was built by Honfleur's fishermen and shipbuilders - two most important and lucrative businesses of that time.
The Church is in central Honfleur, just a street above the picturesque harbor, set on a tiny square so it looks gigantic. It consists of a long 3 nave main Church building and a separate bell tower across it. Very interesting interiors that differ from other Churches in Normandy.
Dejan Braki — Google review
Interesting church being the largest all wooden church in France. Worth a look in
The Old Port of Honfleur is a picturesque harbour full of 16th- and 18th-century houses, all reflecting in the still waters of the lake. The Vieux Bassin is also famous for its narrow houses, painted by famous painters such as Gustave Coubert, Eugene Boudin, and Claude Monet. It's a perfect spot to take in the beauty of Honfleur.
Among the most beautiful ports of the region, surrounded by French-dining experience, stone pavements and slate-covered buildings.

Zoo de Cerza is a wildlife park that offers an exciting experience for visitors. It features a variety of animals including big cats, rhinos, kangaroos, and reptiles. The park also provides lodge accommodation for those who want to extend their stay. Visitors can enjoy up-close encounters with the animals and even have the opportunity to feed some of them. The park has well-maintained walkways and new features that enhance the overall experience.
Fantastic Zoo. Penalty to see and do. It is great how close you can get to the animal. Would definitely recommend a visit
Chris Ransom — Google review
Had a nice time at the Safari park. The day was cold and blustery and some of the animals were sheltering from the wind so didn't make an appearance. However we really enjoyed seeing those that braved the weather. The park was clean and accessible and there has obviously been a lot of work building new features, such as walkways, and maintaining existing ones. I recommend a visit, but maybe on a warmer day. Our highlight of the day was definitely the Gibbons' acrobatics! 🙂
Simon Taylor — Google review
Absolutely wonderful healthy looking happy animals with incredible huge habitats. The two walking routes allow you to see everything in an orderly way (save at least 3.5 hours for the two) and the walks were not strenuous (my 3 year old coped fine). The giraffes come right up within 20cm of you, the tigers also come very close and it’s honestly the best zoo I’ve ever been to. All the animals in Cerza have been bred in captivity but have fantastic homes with a lot of space to be away from the public when they want to be.
Charlotte Moseley — Google review
Absolutely fantastic place. We spent all day here with 2 young kids. Under 3's are free and adults are only 23 euros each. There's 2 different routes with lots to see on each and you get much closer to the animals than any other zoo I've been to. The red route is definitely easier to navigate than the yellow one. There's also a train which takes you round different parts of the park you don't see while walking which is included in the price . If you're in the area then definitely make the trip you won't be disappointed.
Mark Farquharson — Google review
Probably the best zoo/animal park I've been to. Huge enclosures for animals, but then pathways are well designed so you can see them. My advice with small children: walk the yellow path first (about 2 hrs), then see the red path on the "train", it covers a similar area.
Dino Scaramanga — Google review
A nice open zoo with large area’s for the animals. The red path is a bit more difficult and steep to walk with a stroller but certainly doable. The safari train is loud and only shows a few animals there not visible from the path.
The burgers with fries I wouldn’t recommend, the fries were flat and the bun a bit soggy.
Joris Spruyt — Google review
The best zoo I have been so far. It is huge, you can spend an entire day here without getting bored. It’s also surrounded by the nature, not like those in the city, so it brings more atmosphere to the zoo. You can find any animal here and get close contact with them. The entry price is worth it, for all of the fun it can give you here!
Zhen Yu (BlancoBear) — Google review
Great experience at Cerza zoo. We never though it was possible to make a safari in Normandie
Very positively surprised: a lot of animals in a very large park. A lot to see, the little train is always appreciated by the kids and everything is clean and well organized.
Recommended!
Laurent Dumortier — Google review
If you are in the area or even passing by, this zoo is well worth the visit. The price of the ticket is relatively cheap for all the extras on offer - train rides, feeding animals and a petting area for the kids. We were lucky enough to have had the chance to hand feed the giraffes which in some zoo’s can cost hundreds. An amazing place and look forward to visiting again next year.
R&V — Google review
Have visited many Safaris in UK in the last 20 years but this one stands out by many factors. I must say, never been to so many amazing animals that close. So much variety of animals. Foot safari is so amazing and exceptionally well facilitated by making high level platforms, bridges, viewing areas and walking routes.
Just amazing. Full marks
M. Fawad Ansari — Google review
Incredible safari park! It's beautiful to see how well the animals are doing. No apathetic behaviour, just animals living in semi freedom. All other zoo's should look at this one to see how they should build their park and care for the animals. There was one big irritation factor, wasps everywhere. Really annoying. But that is not something you can control in summer in France.
The towering 110 meter high tower rises from the skyline of Le Havre, encapsulating the modern charm of the city. The church is a UNESCO-listed temple of concrete and stained glass and its impressive Octagonal tower is a marvel to behold.
You have to see it…
From the outside it looks ugly, too tall and nothing like a church. The texture, form and colors are not matching with the idea we all have on our heads.
Once inside, it is a mix of a church an official session hall and a futuristic building. The light enters through the numerous coloured crystals and makes the concrete have another vibe. It is very unique and different
Gerardo Garc?s — Google review
Very unusual church built out of mostly concrete and glass. If it is a sunny day, the stained glass makes a beautiful job of colouring the concrete pillars. Fairly quiet when we visited on a Monday afternoon after lunch. Recommended as there cannot be too many churches that look like this!
Pat'sChris griffin — Google review
A truly stunning building. From the outside it doesn't give away just how beautiful the glass is when you're inside. Well worth the walk a few minutes from the centre to view.
There were also some interesting boards inside on the history of the area and building.

You must visit this amazing church if you’re around! Fascinating architecture with symmetrical patterns.. lovely colors of the stain glass arts. Contemporary church which you can’t see anywhere else.

One of a kind. Really wanted to climb the spiral staircase that goes up the cylindrical dome with stained glasses all around that makes it look like an alien space shuttle. However, the gates were closed. I'm not sure if it's allowed to climb those stairs.
Saranga K. Mahanta — Google review
This is probably the most famous thing to see in Le Havre. It is a beautiful church with a very cool tower with stained glass all throughout it. We saw on the Internet that people climbed to the top of the tower. When we visited (on a Monday) the steps to the tower were locked. And there were actually no employees to ask. There was no fee to enter. The doors were just open.

Simply stunning. Monumental and brutalist, this church is a must see on a sunny day. Not only is it a good refuge from the heat, but also you see all the colour the windows have play on the wall
Anastasia Balandina — Google review
Not like the other churches you see in the world. Constructed with concrete. Stain glass windows have different tone of colors on different sides. The alter is in the centre of the church.
Wing Chang — Google review
Lovely modern church based around a central altar which in turn sits beneath a tall tower covered in stained glass windows. The four sides of the tower primarily feature four different colours. The result is beautiful coloured light effects which change as the sun moves across the sky during the day.

It was a quiet, sunny Thursday. I decided to catch a train and wander around Le Havre. This church caught my sight in the first place, and it was an honour to visit here. The rays light up the small glass window, which creates a breathtaking picture. immaculata muoghalu — Google review
Few people still know about this holy place and for many it is still undiscovered ( I had a small trip from Paris to Lisieux by Train for one day) . This building is about a hundred years old and Pope John Paul II visited it for the first time. The type of building is a combination of modernity and traditional architecture with granite stones and paintings, as well as a large dome with the ability to reflect sound in the centre of building, At the top of the hill, beautiful and quiet and easy to access (on foot or by car) with parking and a boutique.
(I still don't know why different types of stars are used in the exterior design of the building)

A fascinating experience, with lots to reflect on and give thanks for in the life of St Therese of Lisieux. The cloister gets relatively few visitors, but it's the clearest glimpse of her longing for all people, even the worst of criminals, to find peace in God's love

The Basilica of Sainte-Thérèse of Lisieux is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica dedicated to Saint Thérèse of Lisieux. This is a large building dedicated to St. Teresa of Lisieux. There is a lot to see on the site beside the church itself. Inside the church is beautifully decorated with mosaics of many saints and holy images. Because of the size it wasn't crowded or noisy inside despite the number of visitors.

Deauville Beach is a picturesque public beach that boasts a vast expanse of white sand interspersed with sun umbrellas and vendors. The sand is fine and stretches over several miles, although the water may not be suitable for those seeking warmth. Additionally, Deauville's weather can be unpredictable with temperatures dropping up to 30 degrees in a day. Windy conditions are also common here.
Lovely big beach! Be prepared for a long walk to the water, but the water was nice and cool in August. Nice board walk along the beach as well.

Deauville Beach, also known as Plage de Deauville, offers visitors a picturesque stretch of sandy coastline that is perfect for leisurely strolls and relaxation. During my recent visit to Deauville, I had the pleasure of spending a day at this charming beach, and it left quite an impression.
One of the unique features of Deauville Beach is the mini bungalows that line the shore. Each bungalow is adorned with a star name tag, reminiscent of the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. This touch of glamour adds a fun and playful element to the beach experience, allowing visitors to imagine themselves in the shoes of the stars.

Deauville Beach is a pretty decent spot to spend a day under the sun. The beach offers a long stretch of golden sand and stunning views of the coastline. However, it's important to note that during peak times, the beach can get quite crowded, which may detract from the overall experience. Additionally, some visitors have mentioned that the facilities could use some improvement in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. Despite these drawbacks, Deauville Beach still provides a pleasant setting for relaxation and leisure activities. If you're looking for a beach with a bit more tranquility, you might want to explore other options in the area. 🌊🏖️

Beautiful beach with many restaurants and cafes around. Its in a very posh area of France. During peak summer or otherwise too You can spot the rich and famous people of France and other celebraties. The restaurant on the beach itself are super expensive. The town area is a bit less expensive compared to the beach front. However some spectacular views of the mountains and the sea. Great location to spend a relaxed day on the sand and enjoy the sunshine. The water is very cold so wouldn't recommend swimming as water temperature is around 12-15 degree even in peak summer. The enticed town has a very relaxed and calm vibe to it. It gets really crowded starting June till end of July. Plan accordingly. Best would be to have a picnic on the beach with your family or special someone. 🏖️❤️🏖️
