The Bunker Museum is a small yet captivating exhibit showcasing various weapons and memorabilia from World War II. Situated within a historic fort at a former weapons-testing site, the museum offers an intriguing insight into the past. While initially appearing to be just a modest bunker, the true allure lies in the surrounding hills and their significance. To reach the top, visitors embark on an enjoyable hill climb.
Small but surprisingly interesting little museum. I thought it was just a small museum with 2nd world war artifacts inside a small bunker which was somewhat true but the main attraction is the surrounding hills and what was/is on those hills. The hill climb to get to the top is great :)

Nice small museum. There is not much there, but if one is in the area, it is worth the low price. The staff spoke both English and German. While one is there, I would also suggest taking a walk in the hills as they offer quite a nice view.

National park on Wolin Island with sandy beaches, sea cliffs, hiking trails & a bison reserve.
Amazing experience, great place to relax and connect with the nature. Plenty of wild life around. Beach few metres away.
No dogs allowed. Free toilet 🚻 near the pier.

The park is amazing, but only a few paths are allowed (even fire roads are prohibited for walking). Some paths were blocked or rerouted. Further more there are a lot of mosquito everywhere.

Very nice natural park in the pine forest. You can have a great and calm walk there among the trees through indicated paths. There is here a zoo with Zubr (Bison), forest pigs, deers, and eagles, entrance 4 to 6 euros. It is a nice place to walk with kids ans discover local animals native from the region. A great sight.
Alain GUIRAUD — Google review
Wild nature where you can see Wild Boar, Deer and much more depending on location. Stay on path and what you bring in, take with you back. Don't leave rubbish.
In some locations is free parking by the road so don't park where you want to, just where is it marked for parking.
Jan Cermak — Google review
Thr park is beautiful. It's definitely worth going to. We checked out the beach a bit, a few World War 2 bunkers and the bisons sanctuary. While the majority of animals are free to roam the ones you can visit have tight quarters. I understand why they did this, but to be honest I felt bad for the animals. The entrance in the natural park is free but to go visit the animals it's 7sz.

All this makes it a perfect place to relax with children. Many descents to the beach, with toilets at the exits. Deckchair rental, inflatable attractions for children, catering tent. Nice view of the entrance to the port, plus the opportunity to walk along the breakwater along the entrance. And most importantly, there is almost always sun here 😉 Dziwnów is so strange 🙃 I recommend it for a holiday trip 😎

I hope, that next few years will be used to grow exposition. There are a couple interesting trains and a a few lighthouses and buildings typical for Poland, but I wish it should be more. It was rather interesting for kid, but not for a long time, because of the small area.

I mean, it's pretty but really not much to do there. You go take a photo from the bridge as that's one of the better spots to do so and then that's pretty much it. However it is somethong to do on an overcast afternoon. Around you frind many restaurants and shops. When we were there there was also a street musician.

The Central Cemetery in Szczecin is a century-old burial ground featuring tree-lined walkways, ornate tombs, and a neo-Romanesque chapel adorned with sculptures. It is the largest cemetery in Europe and becomes particularly atmospheric during All Saints Day when people light candles on their ancestors' graves; this creates an ethereal glow visible from afar amidst the thousands of candles. The historic cemetery is surrounded by a beautiful park and hosts numerous monuments among its many trees.

This venue is very old - over 100 years its the biggest in Europe. It looks especially moody / unusual durin All Saints Day which is celebrated on 1 November. On that day in the evening people lit candles on the graves of thier ancestors. There are thousands and thousands of them ( candles) so the glow is visible from far away.

Stare Miasto, or Old Town, is the city’s lively historic heart, home to landmarks like baroque Szczecin Cathedral and Ducal Castle, which contains an opera house. Another cultural powerhouse is Szczecin Philharmonic, a contemporary concert hall with a jagged facade. Visitors stroll along Chrobry Embankment, an elevated riverside promenade, and frequent souvenir shops and cafes around Rynek Sienny square.

Szczecin, Poland
I'll never travel to Poznan without this trip planner again
The Archcathedral Basilica of St. James the Apostle is a baroque Roman Catholic cathedral in Szczecin, Poland. It was rebuilt in the 17th century and features a towering spire that reaches 110 meters high. This iconic cathedral is an important historical landmark during World War II, and visitors can observe tanks placed by Hitler to counter air strikes from the top skyline view for a nominal fee of $3.
Stunning example of gothic architecture. You can come for the Holy Mass or just come and admire the beauty of the place. Located on a hill, parking available around, short walking distance to the Pomeranian Dukes' castle. You can also see the views from the tower.

I decided to go for 5 stars. I was not extra impressed but if you know a bit about Szczecin history u ll understand why this city deserves respect and travellers to meet this place and sit down and have nice piece of nice bagel.
Daniela Jasovska — Google review
The view from the tower is, for me, a must do when being in Stettin. Great overview to three sides of the tower. Ascent is done using two elevators. Unfortunately it is only possible to watch through glass windows which are not very clean. This is not optimal for taking photos.
Prices are with 16 Zl for adults and 8 Zl for kids, and students are in a decent range.

We went to mass there on Sunday at noon. The building is incredible and the treatment we recieved from the English speaking church manager after I told him we were from the USA and were visiting the church where my great, great grandfather was baptized in 1846 was outstanding.
I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

The cathedral is an iconic landmark in Szczecin's skyline giving beautiful view of the town and nearby port. The cathedral is of historical importance during world war 2. Nestled in the heart of Szczecin, the Arch Cathedral Basilica of St. James the Apostle stands as a testament to centuries of history, architectural grandeur, and spiritual significance. During my recent visit, I was captivated by the cathedral's awe-inspiring views from the top deck, the intricate beauty of its interiors, the profound connection with St. James, and the mesmerizing tones emanating from its historic organ.
The panoramic view from the top deck of the cathedral is nothing short of breathtaking. As I ascended the lift, I could feel the anticipation building. Upon reaching the summit, the city unfolded before my eyes like a tapestry, with the Oder River meandering through the landscape and the red-roofed buildings standing proudly against the sky. This vantage point offers a unique perspective, allowing visitors to appreciate the city's layout and architectural charm in all its glory.
Stepping into the cathedral, the first thing that struck me was the ethereal beauty of its interiors. The play of light filtering through stained glass windows created a kaleidoscope of colors, casting a warm and inviting ambiance. The intricate details of the Gothic architecture, adorned with statues and religious artwork, add a sense of reverence to the space. The cathedral's interiors are a testament to the craftsmanship of those who built it and a reflection of the centuries of devotion that have unfolded within its hallowed walls.
The connection with St. James is palpable throughout the cathedral. Pilgrims and visitors alike can sense the spiritual energy as they explore the sacred space. The altar dedicated to St. James and the various relics associated with the apostle serve as a reminder of the cathedral's deep historical and religious significance. The atmosphere within the cathedral exudes a sense of tranquility, inviting contemplation and reflection.
One cannot discuss the Arch Cathedral Basilica of St. James without mentioning its historic organ. The resonant tones produced by this magnificent instrument fill the cathedral, creating a symphony that resonates with both the spiritual and the musical. The organ's rich history and the skill required to master its keys add an extra layer of appreciation for the arts and culture that have thrived within the cathedral's walls.

The Pomeranian Dukes' Castle in Szczecin is a renovated historical monument that showcases art, history exhibitions and hosts classical concerts. The castle features a square central courtyard and Renaissance-style decoration atop the walls, with an understated grace. Originally built in the mid-14th century and expanded by 1577, it was destroyed during Allied carpet bombing in 1944 before being extensively restored.
I had an absolutely fantastic time at Pomeranian Dukes. The ambiance was charming, the service was impeccable, and the food from the venders was exquisite. The attention to detail and the historical charm of the place made my visit truly memorable. I can't wait to go back and enjoy another delightful experience at Pomeranian Dukes Castle.

Very pretty medieval palace to visit with lots of events. The tower gives a wonderful view of the city, but it is definitely a workout for the legs (and lungs!). The items on exhibit comprise only two rooms, which was a bit disappointing if you're looking to roam the entire palace. The courtyard was very pretty, and the entire structure lies in the heart of the old city with plenty to see, do, eat, and drink nearby. It's definitely worth a visit (at 15 zloty - roughly €3 - it's very affordable), although it's not really a great stop for kids or people with mobility issues, in my opinion.

In 5 mins you will reach the well preserved spot. The route is marked with directions.

The place is overrated. It covers a small area, situated next to a fabric. Could be an option to come and see, if you are traveling around, but for sure not the main destination

The trees are really weird. Curious to see their unique shape and read the story. It is just a small part of the forest but it is a nice walk.

One big disappointment. There are some crooked trees but not so many. The city should clean the area from bushes as well. And the kindergarten shouldn't build treehouses on the crooked trees. You can come here if you are going this way anyway but to take a trip only for this is not worth it.

A nice place but way smaller than expected and not easy to reach. A car is (almost) mandatory!

It's awful. I was fantasizing about visiting the place since i saw a photo in a book 10 years ago. I came to Szczecin for this. As people said already it's 20 trees all together and a lot are cut. Around, you have pipes and smoke of factories. It is at the best a sucessful metaphor of destruction. The beauty is to be seeked elsewhere : good luck.

If I were a pine tree, I would grow crooked too so no one would want to cut me down. Trees are very smart. Let me mention this.. one day, I was burning leaves and sticks under some trees, and they started dropping drops of water. There were no clouds around, neither.
I'm from the USA, so I haven't visited yet.

A mysterious forest of crooked pine trees?! We drove from Berlin to see this and I am so glad we did!
Advice: 1) bring a picnic lunch. There is a table to eat at and this is a special place to relax. 2) If you have time, make it into a longer hike. The crooked grove is not far from where you park. If you want to hike further, there is a path leading to a river with ducks and herons.
As a Forester, I can't believe that the mystery of the trees is unsolved!

The amazing forest is located in Poland, near the town of Gryfino. On an area of about 1.7 hectares, there is a pine forest with outlandish trees, unlike any other in the world. The name of this forest is just as unusual - "Crooked Forest"
How it happened that trees grow in such an unusual way, no one knows ...
There are several versions of the appearance of this “crooked forest”, one of them is that the pine forest was planted in 1930-34 by the Germans who inhabited these lands before the Second World War, and they also carried out some of their experiments.
According to the second version, the local breeder wanted to grow a forest where no one could get lost, so all the trees are turned to the north. However, until the end, he did not realize his plan, as the Second World War interfered. Perhaps these trees were intended for the production of sledges, just not far from here a sleigh factory operated at one time.
It is said that at the very beginning of the twentieth century, someone was experimenting with the production of "pre-curved" wood. Such wood should have been intended for shipbuilding or for the production of furniture.
There are versions that it was nature at some time with its strong winds that forced the pines to bend in this way, perhaps even breaking them at first, but then the trees still survived and began to stretch upwards towards the sun, creating an arc.
The orchestra was absolutely amazing and the stages are big and spacious.

Castle itself is in good condition and you have access to inside courtyard. There is restaurant over there ( I have not used so cannot comment on that ) but you cannot access inside of the castle. There is public library over there so if it is week day you can pop in and cast your eyes.
Apparently there is cinema over there but you would need to check this first.
Walk around the castle next to the river is really nice but there is a massive way for improvement as it could be such a nice area with picnic benches and tables and the path itself is in poor condition which is a shame.
It will not take long to take a walk so I would say with visiting the castle courtyard you need 30 min at most.

Part of a World War II defense line, with a bunker network that included engine rooms & barracks.
Excellent English speaking guide, Magda, highly recommended as the tour was really interesting with lots of small bytes of additional info. Great ride back to the starting point in an armoured personnel carrier, Kids played on field guns and tanks. Al in all a great day out. L:ots of steps and walking but plenty of short info breaks at points if interest. Beware that there are no toilets in the bunker but you will need some drinking water as its a fair walk.

Nice experience to touch the history with our own hands. Unfortunately the guide was just exoaining in Polosh and we did not have any audio support in English, but the visit is surely worth the price of the ticket. The bunker is also a bats reserve, with over 4000 of them living in these galleries, nevertheless, due to the season we couldn't see any of them.

This wonderful historical site has very knowledgeable tour guides, lots of different tours, ranging from 1 1/2 to 8 hours, and a neat little gift shop. There are to food vendors parked outside during the day as well, with ice cream, coffee, and small snacks. The bunkers are MASSIVE, and an extraordinary thing to be able to see mostly undamaged from WW2. I reccomend anyone with an eye for history to visit this at least once

We visited the Meseritz Fortified Line as part of a battlefield tour exploring the Vistula-Oder Campaign. Upon arrival there are various pieces of armour and field guns used during the period which was interesting. We were also shown the fortified defence positions. As impressive as they were, what seriously impressed me was the guided tour on the inside by a knowledgeable young man who showed us the inside of the fortified positions. The Fortified Meseritz Line is more than a bunker. It's a complex network of train tunnels over 30km long spanning across the German defensive line. It's incredible to explore, the tour guide said to explore the entire network it can take up to 8 hours. Personally I'd love to come back and see as much as possible. Don't miss out on this incredible experience. Even if you're not interested in history, it's something to behold.

Jesus statue is in some way impressive it is the biggest statue in the world beating the size of Jesus in Rio de Janeiro. However it won also the competition of Makabryla for the most unsuitable and unmatched sculpture with the region/environment.
The statue is not close to any of big cities, means if you want to go better plan your trip. Following the road S3 close to Swiebodzin you can see (from far) small Jesus. Surprise is that it is not founded by tax of poles but it is collection of donations from local people and investors.
I’m assuming that for religious people it will be nice place to see.

Impressive. The figure of Christ is installed on the 16 meter long embankment. The monument itself has a size of 36 m, of which 3.5 m with a crown on the head. The weight of the mesh concrete construction is 15 tons and the distance between the ends of the arms is 24 meters. The height of the structure, including the embankment, is 52.5 meters and its weight is estimated at 440 tons. The initiator of the construction of the monument was the pastor of Swiebodzin and in 2010 the monument was consecrated by Bishop Stefan Regmunt.

As much as it was a great idea, surroundings are cheesey and cheap looking. There is no access for disabled people to get to the statue. They have to stay by the little parking at the feet of the statue or they may(!) be able to get to few stations of the Cross (if that) that are built around. Even a person on crutches won't be able to get up there, or even elderly with walking difficulty. You need to climb steep metal steps to be able to get to the higher landing by the statue. I'm not disabled, but it shocked me that place like this was not designed with some common sense. As a Catholic, I'm ashamed. I'm sorry but I did not feel like I expected to. I have to admit that the road leading to the statue is very nice and beautifully landscaped. But that is all. The rest of the surroundings are not cared for.

So my wife and I decided to take a trip out to the pool with our 7 month old daughter on the bank holiday. Pretty good that the pool is open still, but not very good that you have to pay for a 7 month old to go to swimming. Surely the parents paying is enough, anyway, annoying but tolerable.
The changing rooms are pretty good but once you’re changed, you head into the pool, this for me is where the real issue came up. Where as in the UK or the rest of Europe, wearing swimming shorts is perfectly normal; if you do so here you can expect to be immediately confronted by one of the guards who will inform you that they are unacceptable. Where on earth do you have to wear ridiculous looking tight mini shorts, here, that’s where! Stupid.
I had to retire to the changing rooms where I sat and waited for my wife and daughter to finish. I could have gone out to the shop and bought a pair of the ridiculous looking shorts but they would have been useless anywhere else apart from potentially some strange sex dungeon.
When we left we noticed there is a sign by the door but it’s not big enough and it almost needs someone to stand there pointing out that they have some ridiculous rules on pool attire.
If you turn up with the stupid shorts, or just a pair of speedos the pool actually looks good, hence the 2 stars.

Located in the bustling heart of the town, Focus Shopping Mall offers convenience with its proximity to the market square, making it easily accessible by foot. The presence of a convenient on-site car park adds to its appeal, along with essential facilities like public toilets, escalators, and disability-friendly lifts. However, despite its size, the mall disappoints in terms of shop variety. While it’s unrealistic to anticipate high-end retailers akin to Harvey Nichols, Selfridges or Macy’s in a town the size of Zielona Góra, the limited selection of big brands is somewhat disappointing. While locals might find it adequate, those from outside might find the selection lacking. Overall, while it offers convenience, the shopping experience at Focus Shopping Mall falls short in terms of diversity and brand selection.

Great place- friendly staff/good price/clean/nice restaurant/free parking...but it is NOT a water park. There is no slides/atraction for kids age 1,5-8.
Visited the place with my 3 and 6 year old they spend almost all time hanging onto me and my brother's neck- water level in the most shallow pool is 1m+ jets everyware. Slides are very fast and landing is into deep water with feeling like you are pulled underwater. Surprisingly the tallest slide is the slowest that was our favourite. Overall great experience but this place is design with adults/retirees in mind and also have big lane swimming pools for swimming lessons(one shallow for kids swimming lessons). There is no family changing rooms- we used baby napy changing room.
We like the place but will be back when kids get much taller.

The best recommendation will be to say that we visit it wherever we have about 3-4 hours(about 20-30 minutes drive from centre of Poznań one way). It is about each two-three weeks.

Great swimming pools, nice outdoor pool (especially in Winter), slides for kids, jacuzzi, cheap tickets compared to Malta in Poznań, good and cheap diner with a decent variety.
The National Museum of Agriculture in Szreniawa is a cultural gem that offers a fascinating insight into the history of food production and its impact on modern farming. The museum boasts an extensive collection showcasing folk culture, land reclamation, food processing, fertilization, and more. Visitors can explore vintage plows, tractors, bikes, and even interact with farm animals in the petting zoo.

It's very spacious, pretty and well-maintained. There are various interesting exhibitions. The playground and farm animal area are of course highlights for little kids.
It's a lovely place to visit even in a hot or rainy day - thanks for the indoor exhibitions.

It is a great place, unfortunately the explanations are only in Polish and not in English

Nice place to visit on Sunday and have some fun with the kids. Someone made an effort to collect a lot of historical documents and artifacts.

Pretty big, lively place with lots of old and new farming equipment and beautiful animals. Great for families with kids aged 5 and up. The younger ones might enjoy the barn with animals. There is also a playground and a vending machine with soft drinks and sweets. It's possible to hire a wooden cart for young kids.

For all of the land, all of the agricultural space, I saw no or little sign of opportunity knocking. All there is, is to see, save education, religion second. It is a custodians place more than a hub to the calling: agri business.

This is must-be-seen place when traveling to Poznan.
It's a fantastic place for families with a bit grown-up children as each will find something interesting. This is a real travel trough the history of polish agriculture (and more).
