The Cromwell Museum features portraits, artifacts and documents pertaining to the 17th-century political figure, Oliver Cromwell. Despite being a small museum, it offers an extensive collection of information about the man himself. Visitors can explore a timeline of his life, family, battles and personal relationships. Additionally, visitors can view displays of clothing and weapons from that period. Staff at the museum are knowledgeable and helpful in answering questions related to Cromwell's life.
This is the smallest museum I have visited but the biggest in all that is Oliver Cromwell. Love him or hate him this place will put fact before fiction and you will come out knowing much more about the man than when you went in. An easy to follow time line of his life, family, loves and battles. The displays of clothes and being able to handle weapons of the period made the day. Staff extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering many questions for us.
Highlight was seeing Cromwell's hat.....it's huge!
Well worth a visit if you are in the area of Huntingdon.
Helen Fox-Noble — Google review
A fantastic museum in great surrounds. Staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable about Cromwell, a good range of artefacts, items and information displayed. Also had a small visiting exhibition there too, which I presume changes throughout the year. Suggested donation of £3 which is reasonable. Gave a balanced view to Cromwell, as well as busting myths that have built up over the years. Very impressed and a highlight of visiting the region. Would recommend that all go.

This was a lovely little Museum and my children really liked it. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly as well as welcoming. It may be small but there is lots to see see including a copy of Charles I I death warrant, Oliver Cromwell hat and three of his swords. The building itself is also his former School

A free museum in the heart of huntingdon. We were welcomed by a lovely lady who gaves us an intro to the museum . The museum is small but has some fascinating items, like Cromwell hat, ceremonial sword and death mask. It is superbly curated and has some fascinating books in the small shop on site. Recommended

Nice little museum- some good displays- is small, but some great historic info in such a small place- well worth a visit whilst in town 👍
Mark Salter — Google review
Had a fabulous hour in here. I was the only visitor for much of that time, which was great. Lots of interesting information and some amazing artefacts. My only issue was the volume at which the two volunteers were chatting to each other about personal stuff, it actually made concentrating on reading rather difficult at times.
Lindsaye — Google review
Small museum, yet very lovely visit due to the very knowledgeable and warm staff who also helped to entertain my kid. I learnt a lot, thanks! Free entry with suggested £3 donation.
James B — Google review
The staff is very friendly and know a lot about Cromwell. They will gladly tell you all about him and all the other cool things they know!
The museum is completely free, but they ofcourse greatly appreciate any donations!

This small museum, where Oliver Cromwell was born and later went to school (and Samuel Pepys went to as well) is free to visit (you can donate).
It is all about Cromwell, with artefacts and paintings. For those interested in Cromwell, or those visiting Huntingdon, it is worth a visit.
It may not appeal for long to some, but I found some of the displays, portraits and information worth checking out. I also appreciated standing inside the hostoric building.

It is an absolute joy to visit this museum in Huntingdon. Friendly and incredibly well informed guides. We are looking to attend the Huntingdon witch trials talk in May! A lovely part of what makes Huntingdon, Huntingdon.

Small but informative Museum. We were greeted by a gentleman in period dress who gave us an overview of Cromwell's time.
The walls of the museum are covered in information, portraits and artefacts. We particularly liked the time line.
There is an activity desk for children to get a more hands on experience.
Excellent considering it is "free" with just a £3 per person donation recommended. Which we happily paid. 😎 👍 👍 I

It’s a small museum packed with history. It does a great job of capturing Cromwell history and twisting it together with Englands history. They even have a ton of portraits, armor, and documents for view.
Parking is around the corner for £1/hr and they do events in the square.

Springfields Outlet Shopping & Leisure is a picturesque village-style shopping center that offers numerous high-street brands at discounted prices, making it an attractive destination for bargain hunters. In addition to shopping, visitors can also enjoy dining options such as coffee shops and restaurants on the premises. The complex has well-maintained gardens, both indoor and outdoor toilet facilities, and even a fun park for children.
Had heard of Springfields but have never been in. Easy to navigate to, tried to find a disabled parking bay but as the place was so busy I couldn’t find one. Really cheap car parking charge as well. Lots of discount stores so will definitely be returning for birthdays/Christmas shopping. Ladies toilets were clean but the one hand dryer wasn’t working. All in all I will recommend this outlet to others.

Springfields Shopping Outlet. Beautiful gardens to stroll around. Toilet facilities indoor & out. Plenty of bargain's to be had. Restaurants & Coffee shops on site. There is also a Fun Park for the children. The whole site is beautifully kept to high spec. Beautiful all year round.Well worth a visit. Keep up to the good work. 🙂❤️

Nice flowers and cute fairy motif decorations 🧙. Decorations/flowers every time (according to the seasons) different 😍.
Quiet and beautiful place.
Have a nice walk with a cup of coffee.

This is always a very nice place to visit . Easy parking even for disabled usually plenty of wheelchair space. M&S having a good sale
Geoffrey Willerton — Google review
Was very busy but well worth it. Has decent amount of shops, couple coffee shops, only one restaurant on site to eat. Has Travelodge on site where we stayed, so if you are shopped out you can stay there for £30 a night.
So overall good experience. We went to M&S and Next and found so many discounts that we ended up buying loads of stuff 😁
And parking there is only £2 overnight.

Depending on the time of year, the gardens here are well worth a visit. This review is based on a visit during the last week of April with the tulips in full bloom! It was absolutely stunning and an absolute joy to walk around. The outlet itself has a very good selection of shops and a new updated Skechers store which is excellent! **Make sure you join the Springfield VIP and get 10% off in that store, amongst others**
But as my photos show this time of year its 100% worth a visit for the gardens alone... Top job 👍 highly recommended.
Dave London — Google review
Only giving this 3 stars as a shopping outlet, very limited shops all very pricey. The food drink establishments are extortionate in price. Disabled parking is v poor considering most visitors were elderly on my visit.
The positive was the gardens and walks with well kept borders and fountains are fabulous. Take a picnic and sit in gardens. Don't bother with shops 😊
Really not worth a visit won't be going back
John Brewer — Google review
I have been visiting and observing the venue for past 13 years, it changed and evolved. From my perspective for good. Lots of room for everyone, shops, flowers and so on...
Good place to get your youngest ones for a walk but not only, there are few activities addressed just for them. I hope no one would say they regret visiting Springfields.
Andrzej Papiewski (Daemonum) — Google review
Shopping outlet village with garden attached. Food in the Hosery is excellent. Probably the best snack meal I have had ( 3 egg omelette, cheese bacon and sun dried tomatoes) . Polite helpful staff.
Trevor Fuller — Google review
Lovely little shopping complex. Good parking, easy to get too.
Dark Jalapeno — Google review
Lots of brands in one place. Good facilities. We had tea and cake in the restaurant very nice but a bit on the pricey side. As it was raining we didn't walk round the gardens. Which we have done in the past at this time of year to see the beautiful daffodils narcissus and tulips.
Brenda J Scott — Google review
Later night opening hours for Christmas and the winter lights trail was fabulous. Lots of choice of shops, free parking for the event and all so beautifully decorated for Christmas.
Emmzy84 — Google review
I'm a shopperholic and I love my designer outlets!
This one, however, is probably one of the worst, being the smallest one I've ever visited with very little interesting shops for my personal experience.
One of the restaurants on site (can't remember name) did really good cake but they aren't cheap prices. Beautiful little venue though.
As I say shops aren't to my taste and we spent less than an hour here. Can't believe you have to pay for parking too, don't get this at many of the outlets across the country.
More than likely won't return

Houghton Mill & Waterclose Meadows is a beautiful tourist attraction owned by the National Trust. The mill, mostly constructed from wood, sits in picturesque surroundings with an artificially filled mill pond. Visitors can enjoy watching the mill in operation and learning about its fascinating history with tours guided by knowledgeable staff and volunteers. The site has been home to a mill since 974 AD, and its owners have changed over time.
A stunning Mill set in beautiful surroundings. Plenty to see and I would definitely suggest going on a day when the mill is running to really get a full flavour of its use and history. Also worth checking out the attached campsite as the location is perfect.
Sam Burbidge — Google review
A welcoming friendly place with nice tearooms and a fascinating mill. Bought freshly milled flour while we were there. It is also a base from which to do a pleasant 5 mile walk to St Ives and back. On a sunny Sunday afternoon we felt we had been transported to another world.
Irish John — Google review
Morning fog, sunny afternoon. Thanks for the informative tour by the kind volunteers, Ms Faith and his friends. Also a good place to encounter cormorant.
River Zhu — Google review
We were lucky enough to book a tour of Houghton Mill. Our volunteer guide, Linda, spent an hour taking our small group around the inside of the mill, detailing its thousand-year history.
Whilst on the tour, we were able to visit three of the four floors of the mill, the top floor is currently closed to the public for safety measures and look at some of the original 18th century machinery, learning about how wheat was transported across the building, ground, bagged, and even how a previous owner created a form of air-conditioning.
Please be aware that the waterwheel is not always running, however this does not detract from this beautiful building and its long and interesting history.
There is a carpark on site as well as a gift shop/cafe, with benches along the river to sit outside.
Jodie Santer — Google review
Didn't go into the Mill but had a walk around the grounds and stopped off in the little coffee shop. The Mill gives some nice photo opportunities from all sides, and the walk along the Ouse is very pleasant and not too strenuous. Usual NT prices, £7 for the Mill and expensive in the coffee shop.
Iain Wooding — Google review
A very interesting tour of the mill by our guide Janine. Full of history and owners since the first mill on the site in 974 AD.
The staff and volunteers do a great job keeping this historic building running.
Mike Drew — Google review
Very interesting watermill, well worth a visit; check the opening times first, some days have a guide, some dont and they only mill on Sundays. Lovely friendly staff and guides, very informative. Mill is really interesting inside, with most original equipment and plenty of information boards. At busy times best to book tickets in advance, although we were lucky and they had free spaces
Chris — Google review
Make sure to book ahead of time.
Nicely situated mill with a wide range of activities. Two local villages to explore, paths and trails; waterways and more. You can easily spend a day here. However if you want to see the mill then prebook the tour to make sure you get inside. It’s a lovely location and perfect for an afternoon out.
Ethan Ohs — Google review
A lovely location for a walk, coffee, chat or water based activity if that’s your thing!
Highly recommend a visit, it’s a stunning location for a 4k walk or shorter if desired!
Car park is not large and maximum parking duration is 3 hours for £3!
There’s a little cafe onsite that opens at 10am and some toilet facilities.
It does get busy later in the day, so if you can go early!
There is also a campsite connected to the mill if you like sleeping with the stars.
You can also walk around the mill.

What a lovely place in a great setting. The tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining (the tour lasted about an hour). There are some lovely walks nearby as well as a lovely pub. Perfect for an afternoon out.

Visited on the way to Huntingdon races, the mill was closed but you could still view the outside of the mill and the riverside park was excellent. I will visit again and there is also a small tearoom.
The village also has some fantastic medieval buildings too.

The mill was closed for the winter but walks around it were good. Water meadows with birds. Nice national trust hut with good food. Olde world village with thatched roofs. Friendly people.

Nice little mill dated at least from the 900s. Five stars for the enthusiasm of the staff and the clean well-maintained toilet. Nice tea room in the gardens surrounded by long nature paths to explore and wonderful watersports choices for a fun relaxing day!

A lovely place to visit at any time of the year. It can get very busy and the car park isn’t huge so best to go early. Great little coffee shop for after having a walk. We didn’t go into the mill but looked good from outside. £3 parking.

Didn't actually make it around the Mill itself but did a lovely walk following the River Great Ouse. Stunning countryside. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon walking the dog in the sunshine. Finished off with a coffee and cake from the National Trust cafe

The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre tells the story of how air power has changed throughout history. It features an aircraft museum with a 1940s Bomber Airfield, and provides a taxy ride experience in an RAF Avro Lancaster bomber. The centre is a popular attraction for families, who can learn about aviation history while having fun.
Fantastic old school relaxed atmosphere museum full of information and packed with exhibits. A very well kept site and great cafe with an extensive gift shop. A wonderfully laid out control tower with sounds and voices of a busy but important time.
JEFFREY BADCOCK — Google review
Never fails to delight. Wonderful atmosphere. Dedicated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff. Excellent cafe and gift shop. Wonderful artefacts and history. Hanger with workshop and a B52 being restored. Then, of course, there's the experience of seeing and hearing that amazing Lancaster Bomber, Just Jane.
Kim Bayley — Google review
We had a most enjoyable time here. The exhibits are very interesting. The star of the show is the Lancaster but the B25 and mosquito are well worth the visit. We spent quite some time chatting with some of the amazing people who are restoring the Lancaster to flying condition.
There is plenty to do and see. Including a very good NAAFI
Paul McCullock — Google review
Absolutely awesome.
I'd been before as a coach driver, but this was the first time with my wife and kids, plus the outlaws everyone enjoyed it especially the kids.
Just Jane, taxiing up and down the runway was thrilling, and the kids were in awe.
The kids engaged with everything and it brought history to life for them.
I would highly recommend a visit here for all ages.
We will be going back, only this time without the moaning outlaw.
steve r — Google review
I'd never been here before as it's out of my way, but had a few days leave from work so decided to visit. Well what a great day out. Just Jane (Lancaster bomber) was undergoing various maintenance tasks, but she is a beautiful aircraft and to get so close to her is a real buzz.
Also undergoing restoration is a Mosquito, which is equally beautiful.
Most of the site is accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs with the exception of the upper part of the control tower. I'm not sure how accessible the toilets are, as I didn't visit them.
Lots of things to see, read and do, including the NAFFI where there are lots of food and drinks.
Various different areas including the Home front exhibition, Control tower, Escape museum, Wellington bomber display and much, much more.
I didn't check all of the admission prices, but at £10 per adult, I thought this was good value.
Worthy of a good day out - 5 stars from me.

Everyone was enthusiastic and really helpful. The Hampden reconstruction was closed but a man called Philip opened it for me. I was very eager to see this as one crashed into my church during the war, killing the pilot. (St. Matthias Church Lincoln. ) I also found literature that told my more about the pilot (P/O D D Snooke) which was great. The lunch was good too. They were testing the engines on the Lancaster and the Mosquito which was amazing. Overall a fantastic experience. Thanks again @

A fabulous centre doing amazing work to get the Lancaster 'Just Jane' flying again. The centre has many quality displays that will keep you amused all day. Their restaurant serves great gluten free food.
Geoff Blampied — Google review
Our visit was fir the East Kirkby Air show but sadly it rained for most of the day & none of the aircraft destined to fly could leave their host base.
Nonetheless there were taxi runs by Mosquito & Lancaster aircraft & there was a static B24 Mitchell on display.
The Aviation museum was inside a large hangar that was being used for the indoor stalls so it was too busy to enjoy.
Despite the weather the event was well organised & very well attended.
Bryan Gilbert — Google review
If your into aviation and ww2 history, this place is absolutely a must.
Very friendly and helpful staff, great atmosphere as well, lots to see and do, and a great cafe, with a great choice of food.
The Lancaster and Mosquito taxi rides are amazing.
Conservation area is very interesting.

This is a lovely place to visit, not just to see the absolutely stunning Lancaster and Mosquito, but so many other interesting things to see, read and experience!
Parking is free and just outside
Entry was £11 per adult, but well worth it.
It’s a fascinating piece of history to explore.
If you’re in the area it’s really worth a visit.
There’s a café onsite service a variety of hot and cold food and drinks too and a gift shop to browse before leaving!

Wonderful preservation of aircraft and artefacts from WW2. The Lancaster and Mosquito are very special aeroplanes, plus you get to see the new fuselage being built to make her airworthy again.
Steve Harris — Google review
Visited on the Open Day, Bank Holiday Monday 6 May 2024. The Lancaster made three taxi runs during the day. Where else can you see and hear a Lancaster with 4 engines running? In my opinion, it was worth the £12 admission charge. Interesting displays in the main hanger, and period buildings
William Almquest — Google review
Great value for money. The exhibition of memorabilia is outstanding and presented with care and attention. But the star of the show is of course Just Jane she is just wonderful to look at and listen to the sound of the 4 Merlin engines start up.

Great experience BUT because of the weather the air shows was cancelled. We still had a great time going around the stalls inside the air craft hangers and loads of stalls outside. Took photos of some stationery planes and the famous Lady Jane Lancaster bomber.

This place is outstanding. A museum of history. £10 for over 60's - great to see and emotional. We must never lose our history. The cafe/Naafi is delightful - food good. Dog friendly. So much to see - an all day visit. Just Jane taxying was a treat.

You do not need to buy tickets in advance for normal visits. A great place to visit especially if you are interested in WWII history. Although the airplanes are the main attraction there is so much more to see. You can visit the cafe and shop for free.

Small but informative heritage centre. Had a great time looking at the Lancaster bomber and worth checking when the Taxying times are to hear those engines roar into life. Lovely cafe for refreshments I had the steak and ale pie and it was really nice.
Mark Titman — Google review
Great day out, plenty to see and very well looked after. Loved the planes and seeing them being restored. Great cafe with lovely cake and coffee. Free parking and we stayed overnight in our motorhome, which was nice. Would definitely come again
Aiden Basson — Google review
I'm a frequent visitor and it's great to see ongoing work on the Lancaster as well as the Mosquito and B25.
There are reviews that claim it's "too expensive". Is it really, though? Where else are you going to see a working Lancaster Bomber so close you can almost touch it? Not to mention the De Havilland Mosquito that was used in the short film "The Shepherd" starring John Travolta. Where else can you stand and watch a talented group of people working to restore the Lancaster to flight condition? Not only that, ask them questions and they always have time to talk to you and provide any information they can.
There are information boards around displaying the running and maintenance costs for the previous year - this is a six figure sum, every year, and that's without the cost of the restoration to airworthiness.
The main hangar also contains many exhibits of aircraft parts recovered from nearby crash sites ranging from small barely identifiable parts up to engines, propellers, a wrecked spitfire fuselage and a Canberra cockpit you can explore.
There are numerous other exhibitions including a small cinema, escape museum, radio room, a simulated air raid shelter and many displays of aircraft parts, engines and information on the Nuremberg raids, the Dambusters and more.
There are also several examples of wartime vehicles to see.
The NAAFI offers a range of food from cooked meals to cakes, biscuits and ice cream, tea and coffee, and sits at the main entrance/exit with a gift shop at the end. The walls are covered with more information, photos, medals and paintings. A variety of large model aircraft hang from the ceiling.
There are taxi runs every week, usually on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You can sit inside the plane during taxi runs which, having done it, is a unique experience. This isn't cheap, and has to be booked in advance via their website and spaces are filled up very quickly.
It's a good day out for little more than ten quid, and there are several big events each year which cost more for entry, but then there are food stalls, tank displays, many stalls, plus Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flypasts including the UKs only airworthy Lancaster - one of only two in the world. They also have searchlight demonstrations and a lengthy firework display at their final season event in November every year.
There's loads of parking adjacent to the NAAFI, plus a larger car park that opens for the big events. I've been to many of them and the entry queues are always processed quickly.
If you have even a slight interest in WW2 aircraft and history, then it's well worth a visit.

We had a really enjoyable visit to the Aviation Heritage Center. Loads to see and lots of information available. Seeing the Lancaster was the highlight of our visit. It was great seeing the Lancaster driving around the runway. There's plenty to see around the whole base. It's great to see history being preserved so well.
There is plenty of free parking, very dog friendly (not allowed inside the cafe). Lots of outdoor seating and picnic benches.
I would love to see when they have all 3 planes out of the hangars. I imagine the event days are good.
It's amazing to walk around and experience a bit of history. You can't help but think of all the people that would have been based there during WW2 and the Battle of Britain. Lovely little Chapel, too.
The gift has lots of cool items. If I lived closer I'd be visiting all the time.

First visit today and I'm blown away, truly amazing place
"Fossils Galore" offers fantastic kids activities and a Dino dig with great prizes. The activity bundle is reasonably priced and includes lots of fun for kids of all ages. The staff are friendly and professional, and the shop offers reasonably priced items, making it perfect for kids with pocket money. Visitors highly recommend the experience and look forward to returning to explore the museum.
We attended today, it was fantastic!! The kids activities are amazing, the image below is everything one of my children got from the activities she did and the prize she won from the Dino dig.
Fossils galore is brilliantly priced, I couldn’t believe everything we got for the activity bundle! 100% worth doing. Lots of activities for kids of all ages.
All of the staff are friendly and professional. After the activities we looked round the shop, all items were priced in the right price range for crystals. I was so impressed because all the kids items were perfectly priced. Brilliant for kids who maybe are going with pocket money.
I highly recommend, we didn’t have time for the museum today but we’re all looking forward to go back and see the museum.

We are first time visitors and we will definitely be back!!
We completed the skills bundle and it was so much fun!! We did get a bit competitive as a family.
When you first arrive, I didn't see anywhere to park but we found a car park that was 5 min walk, it looks like a shop. Lacey was telling us it's an old bank (the old safe can still be seen). When you first walk in, there are cases filled with crystals, fossils and jewellery. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We asked about fossil hunting (found on their website and from reviews read) and they gave us a list!! Skills bundle selected!! Jamie suggested the museum and we have 6 months membership... hopefully a little bit more Indy will be seen).
Out back is where we had a great time going from station to station. Lacey stayed with us the whole time and helped me find a blue and white piece of pottery 🥰🥰 thank you Lacey!! We could take 3 pieces from each station. Safe to say we now have a goody bag upon leaving!! It was carefully thought of as all pieces were bagged with a info sheet!! Perfect to help remind ourselves after a few months!!
Lacey offered to show us around the museum, though small... it was enough to appreciate the work that went into what they have!! Check out the mammoth hip and Indy's skin prints!!
After walking around the museum... shopping!! OK, me and my step daughter can shop but we struggled to think of what we wanted to buy!! There are so many pieces that we could of got, the thought and care behind the displays!!
We will be back!! And we are thinking about joining the field trips too!!
Thank you Jamie and Sarah for fossil galore and thank you Lacey for putting up with us 🥰🥰

Boys aged 9 and 10 had a great time. A little expensive so didnt get to see the museums it was extra. Felt we were rushed through each activity so very disappointed considering how much I spent
Words can't describe how amazing my experience with North London skydiving was yesterday.
My instructor, Kev Dynan, was amazing and kept me calm from start to finish. He made the whole experience one to remember. And also a shout out to our camera man, Alex Turner, was captioning the BEST photos.
And a BIG thank you to the rest of the skydiving team for such a great experience. I would highly recommend using North London skydiving centre and would definitely love to do another jump in the future.

Wow, what an incredible experience! Everything was amazing from start to finish, the staff and instructors are so friendly and helpful! The skydive itself was such an unforgettable experience, words can't describe it!
A big thank you to Gary Small, the instructor I was paired with. He is such a lovely man and was so kind and calming. He explained everything that was going on, from the moment we met before we even got on the plane to the time we landed. He made me feel so at ease and in such safe hands.
I highly recommend to anyone that is thinking about going here and doing a skydive, a big thank you from myself and my dad!

If for any second you have ever thought about doing this, book it today!! You won't regret it. The instructors are brilliant, especially Gary ( the legend!) They give you easy instructions to follow so all you have to do is relax, take in the view's and enjoy. The adrenaline rush as you leave the plane is something else, the free fall is exhilarating, and then once parachute deployed its so peaceful and quiet while you float back down to the ground. A absolutely fantastic day which i will never forget!

Location: got loads of amenities and a pretty well equipped canteen, a place for people to watch and plenty of parking. Make sure your car isn’t too low to the ground though cos there’s a fun dirt track to go through on the way there!
Staff: so friendly, helpful and most importantly calm. The group I went in was a mix of excited and very nervous jumpers - each one of us were handled effortlessly with experienced jumpers! Also had a right laugh with them and even a quick little cuddle with their beautiful lil doggo Cotton! Would bring my dog the next time also!
The experience: it’s a ten out of ten in itself! Training was quick, everyone was ready to make themselves available for our needs and my cameraman took directions quickly for all the shots I wanted! I felt confident whilst jumping and got to take control of the sky dive for a bit - literally felt like flying!
Would I do it again? Hell yes!
The only thing I will feedback on is to have their back up generator checked on a monthly basis as we had to wait a while due to the fuel pump getting the electric cut off - but this just gave us more time to pose for pics in our jump suits!
Got a certificate at the end which is just teasing me to go again!! 100% recommend!

Such an amazing experience, truly wonderful! Everyone at the centre was super helpful, with clear instructions from start to finish making sure everything was 100% safe. My instructor Chris was absolutely amazing, and put me at ease for the duration of the experience. My cameraman Alex was also wonderful, capturing a video I will treasure for a lifetime! Thank you so much ❤️

I would 100% recommend North London Skydiving!
The training before the jump is spot on. It is brief enough to keep you entertained and long enough to cover over all the safety requirements and expectations to keep you safe.
My instructor, Gary Small, was brilliant. He helped keep me relaxed from the moment I put the jumpsuit on right until we landed on the ground with his friendly conversation and reassurance throughout.
My camera person, Alex Turner, was also fantastic. He joined in on the conversation and kept me calm. The photographs and video footage are well worth the money and I would highly recommend getting the full package, especially if it is your first time jumping.
The canteen has plenty of drinks and snacks to keep you topped up throughout the day.

This was my 2nd skydiving experience but my first with North London Skydiving and they didn’t disappoint!!! I did a 15,000 ft skydive yesterday with my instructor Gary Small and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Gary was funny, supportive, helpful and very kind. I felt relaxed and I was very happy to have had this experience with Gary as there’s nothing better then having a brilliant instructor to jump with who enhances your experience. My cameraman was David and he was very kind and friendly. The whole team were friendly and they kept you updated with what was going to be happening throughout the day. I had the best day!

What a buzz. Life is an adventure and this is one certainly worth having. The team are friendly and helpful from booking all the way to landing. The training is easy to understand and I felt like I was in safe hands. My trainer Marian was brilliant, putting me at ease and Leigh the photographer made me laugh so much. Next time I will bring the family for a jump :)

Did my first ever tandem skydive and it was amazing. All the information leading up to the day was spot on and covered everything you could want to know prior to travelling to the airfield.
On the day the staff on site were very friendly and welcoming, my instructor Marius was amazing and made me feel very calm throughout the whole experience.
I had my jump filmed and the end product is very professional and it arrived very quickly!
Can 100% recommend and I'm already looking at when I can do my next jump!!

Just wow 😯. What an experience I had yesterday. The process from registering in to jumping out of the plane ✈️ was just so simple and easy. All the staff on site were really friendly and helpful. Always kept updated on what was happening and when they needed you, the announcements were clear. Glenn my instructor for jump was absolutely amazing. All his instructions were clear and very encouraging. The videos and photo’s are insane quality and I received it all the same day. I will definitely be doing this again one day and fully recommend to anyone.

Wow, what a great experience! It was my first time but definitely not the last. I had an experienced (over 20 years) instructor - Gary Small- and he was brilliant. He helped me to stay calm and explained everything, so I was pretty confident what I was doing. Amazing experience, and would definitely recommend to everyone who likes going out of their comfort zone ;).

The team at North London Skydiving Centre went above and beyond with their support. Despite being unable to jump because I slightly exceeded the weight limit, they were incredibly proactive in helping me shed a few pounds. Although I managed to lose some weight, I still fell short of the cutoff. Their understanding and encouragement during the rescheduling process made it easier for me to come to terms with it, allowing me to cheer on my fiancé during her jump without any hint of envy. Despite not being able to take the leap myself, I still found ways to relish the experience and get ready for my rescheduled jump.

From the moment we got there to landing with Chris strapped to my back was an easy, relaxed and exciting experience.
Had a video session first, then a safety brief, which was very easy to understand and 3 simple rules, legs under plane, head back, and hold straps until tapped, other than that, you do nothing but jump out of a plane at 10,000 feet.
I will 100% go back and get my partner to jump with me, but next time go to 15,000 ft,
Chris was with me and was super calm and a joy to be with, while coming down to earth, we had a nice talk while my adrenaline was going around my body, which probably made me not ever coherent but it was so quiet once the canopy opened.
Before we jumped there was a delay due to low cloud, but this was due to safety, then we jumped at the perfect time! Which overall made me feel safe and in good hands from the pilot (who makes the plane look like a go kart with its manoeuvrability) to the receptionist and the jumpers them self.

Today I had the most amazing experience with the team at North London Skydiving centre. This is the second time I went (first time it was too windy once we got up there) and it did not disappoint.
My first experience, although I didn't jump was still enjoyable. The guys at the centre are so friendly and welcoming.
My second experience was equally as warm. My instructor was Glen & camera man, Matt. Both awesome guys that made me feel confident and comfortable with my skydive. They are all extremely professional with a lovely warmth about them.
Glen was brilliant at keeping me informed and made sure to check in with me. Matt, a super cool camera man was comforting and captured the amazing moments that followed. Thank you to all the staff at North London Skydiving centre. I would highly recommend these wonderful people.

Just went for my first ever Skydive two days ago at North London Skydiving Centre and I can't describe in words how amazing it was, I have never experienced anything like that in my life.
Everyone who works there was fantastic, the training was very informative and quick, was just great all round.
They have amazing offers on Videos/Pictures etc that I definitely was happy with the option of both.
My instructor Gary was superb, very helpful, supportive and he massively helped me calm down as I was very nervous to jump, I am very grateful to have had him as my instructor.
Also wanted to thank the cameramen on my jump, his name is Matthew, he took an amazing video and pictures... they are a great memory to have.
I highly recommend this Skydiving Centre to everyone, they want you to enjoy your skydive whilst also being safe... definitely go and experience Skydiving here as you won't regret it.
I'll definitely be coming back for more skydives as I have never felt a more wonderful feeling.
Thank you North London Skydiving.

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The whole experience was amazing from start to finish. The views were beautiful. The whole team were amazing throughout and my instructor Gary talked me through it all, made sure I was happy throughout and was reassuring - he went above and beyond to make it an unforgettable experience. Would love to do it all again!
There’s also plenty of photo and video option’s available to document it all.
Couldn’t recommend enough!

Both my son and I have jumped with North London Skydiving. I was so impressed with the staff and my son's experience, that I booked myself in. I have always been afraid of flying and heights, but my instructor was amazing from the start and made me feel at ease throughout the whole process. I bought the video and pictures package and was not disappointed with the footage - they were well worth the money, especially as it was my first jump. I stayed close to the airfield, the night before, and got there early to queue, which meant there was not a lot of waiting around. I would be happy to jump with them again and would recommend the experience to anyone looking for a thrill.

Fantasy Island is a family-friendly amusement park and resort that features rollercoasters, rides, soft play areas, live entertainment, and markets. The park undergoes changes from time to time which makes every visit an interesting experience. Although the market may have been quieter during some visits, there are always plenty of people enjoying the rides and attractions. During certain times of the year, they offer shows which can be entertaining for young children.
Come every year myself and my children and we LOVE IT, who needs to go abroad when you can go to Skegness! Excellent family Holiday. Everything you need here, funfairs, food, beach, swimming, pubs/bars and a huge market. Best place ever for children.
Hope to see you all there soon ❤🙌 God bless

A great little theme park with a good variety of rides for all the family. Brilliant indoor amusements too with some really good rides. All operated by an i- card that you top up as you want, no queueing for rides( weather was a hit hit and miss though so that probably had an impact) a good few hours out and doesn't have to cost a fortune.

Fantasyland was very spectacular for only one day , you also have to book the attraction beforehand but it's all good and joyful as well in Skegness , you can also get a blue wristband so it can track the monitors of which place you have been to.
And have a map and pen to tick it off the whole day

We have been to fantasy Island a number of times over the years, and it's always interesting to see what changes have been made from one visit to the next. On most recent trip the market seemed a little quiet, but there was far more using the rides and things. If you go at the right time of year etc. they have some shows on which can be good for the little people. In places, particularly outside of main building there can be a bit of rubbish about although not overly surprising considering volume of outside takeaway type places there is in the area.
Worth a visit if your in the area on holiday, it's certainly a bit different!!

Came today with the family, you can get a bracelet or a card to pay for your rides. The bracelets are around £20-£30 each and allow you to go on all the rides which if you plan on going on a few it definitely works out cheaper for you but if you can only go on one or two then you can get the card and just put a few quid on it. Plenty of shops and places to eat. Only problem is this place is understandable incredibly busy but other then that it’s an amazing place.

I recently visited Fantasy Island and was impressed by the variety of rides and activities available. The park was clean and well-maintained, and it was always a good experience to walk around the park. Fantasy Island is an amazing place and it's worth a visit.
However, I found the park to be quite expensive, both for the individual rides and for the wristbands. Additionally, the queues for the bigger rides were quite long and it took a while to get on them.
Overall, Fantasy Island is a great destination for a day trip or vacation, but be prepared for the costs and long queues for the bigger rides.

I went to fantasy island to take the kids out for the day and it was wonderful. There was so many things to do not just outdoors on the rides, go karting, bumper cars etc etc but so many things in doors. There was water slides and rides. The amusement was huge with a great range of games. There was places to eat and drink. Not just for adults but children as well. If you are looking for a family based time this is great. They also have a huge market selling many things. Fantasy island is not something that can be completed in one day but with free entry and pay as you play your can visit as many times as you want. There was plenty of parking and at £8 for 24 hours it was also reasonably priced

Quite expensive for 2 adults and 2 3 year olds but compared to other theme parks catered for similar ages it was good value for money. Lots of rides for the kids to go on and the decoration inside the pyramid was great.

Some great rides, activities like face painting, arcades and even shops here!
There are all sorts of rides, including roller coasters for older kids, dodgems and waltzes for mid age and tea cups for the smallest!
You can either pay for a wrist band or load up credit on an e-card then use these for the rides and some of your arcade machines.
Activities like face painting are separate and can be paid for in cash or by debit card.
There are lots of food shops serving burgers, hot dogs and waffles plus a dedicated slush store!
I've taken a point off as the staff at the bar that has a Costa machine seemed more interested in finishing early than letting us finish our drinks, but we didn't let their rudeness spoil what was an otherwise enjoyable experience!
Terry Heathcote — Google review
Good place to take Children of all ages. Lots more rides and attractions than I expected. 1.4m tall children can go on any ride, 1.2m tall will get on all but 3 rides. Recommend getting a wristband for £27 each and spending the whole day there, you will easily save money. If anyone is only likely to do a few rides get an 'i-card' and put say £10-£20 on it.
The click & climb was a long wait in a queue (over an hour)
The Guardian wasn't really worth queuing for & I wouldn't do it again.
Staff were all very friendly and good with the kids. Parking on-site was easy (in October) and we were only charged £2 for the day even though we expected £6
...EDIT ... It turns out we should've paid the £6 parking after all. We've had a £60 parking fine. It won't affect my review of Fantasy Island but Smart Parking are a bit of a con. Yes, there may be signage there but when the system reads your number plate on entry you expect it you give you the correct price when you leave.
There are alternative car parks off site for £3. I will avoid Smart Parking in future as a matter of principle.
Doug Gregory — Google review
Very disappointed to be honest. Not many rides available to children under 1m (not many rides at all really) and they're insanely priced. It's only slightly more expensive to go to Alton Towers!
Market was okay - sold typical market stuff like fake brand clothes, sweets and toys.
Ate at somewhere called Ranch, it was about £5 for a burger which was okay, like a truckstop burger.
I'm definitely not going to return to the fair/arcade side but might do for the market.
Kirk Bolam — Google review
Great family day out with a good mix of rides for ages small to tall. The day pass is worth buying and the photo capture for each ride is linked to your ticket so you can scan the code and view/download your ride photos when you get home (or print them on-site).
Plenty of food and drink dotted around, although the staff running the Fantasy Spice booth seemed to prefer turning customers away for trivial excuses rather than service them! (Hence dropping 1 star).
There is a very large carpark on-site and if you want a break from the rides, you can wander around the sizable outdoor marker.

We recently visited Fantasy Island, and what a absolutely treat!
There was so much to see, all staff were friendly and chatty.
Captain Jack's is a treat serving warm drinks with comfy chairs.
Unfortunately there are some site rules when using rides, we had tiny shoulder bads and were instructed to just leave them on a chair as there wasn't allowed on even tho the ride was a "kiddies ride" but you need a adult to go on it, so be aware.
Market is full of cheap and cheerful items but there are quality nice items too.
Toilets were clean and well maintained.
No refunds on site cards would be nice to see a charity tapping area for remaining unused funds.

Went for a weeks holiday and booked the fantasy island caravan park, price was excellent we went for the bronze 6 berth and you got 4 wristbands for all the rides we needed 5 so paid an extra £40 but this gives you unlimited rides on most rides. The caravan was nice with only a couple issues which are not the fault of the park but could have been handled better. A couple of seat buttons were pulled off exposing sharp metal that could have cut one of our three children, when I went and told the staff I was told they knew about it but hadn't bothered to sort it before we arrived, I then noticed six screws that had gone through the wall where they had used longer than needed screws to hang the radiator, I was told they would fix this and it would be done when we were out. After going to the theme park we arrived to the seats having been fixed but 1 left for me to fix and all the screws sticking through still. I then had to call security as the reception was now closed, luckily he was really nice and came to look but he had to call to get permission to remove the dangerous screws. When he called they were on speaker phone and I heard the sarcastic comments of the staff, I thought these were inappropriate as it was their incompetence to check the homes for danger properly, and when this is a place for kids this could have had serious consequences slicing themselves open. However these were the only issues. The caravan was nice and big and well laid out beds are really cheap and not nice to sleep on but it's not a major issue for the price you pay. The park itself is excellent there are loads of rides the people and staff are friendly and the market is amazing. Just remember to barter on prices. Food was pretty decent in most places and the kids will have an excellent time here. Would have got 5 stars if the staff at the caravan park had been more attentive. There is a lot to do there and the fireworks show is a nice touch.

Absolutely fantastic! Kids loved it, both me and my husband loved it!
Lots of things to do inside and out, even has a market! We visited on a Wednesday when they do a firework display too. I would advise to book in advance. We purchased wristbands for all of us so in the summer holidays it was more pricey (we visited September time last year so was a bit cheaper) but definitely worth the money!
Was the best day but also most exhausting 😅

Thoroughly enjoyed coming to fantasy Island, it's definitely improved over the years and we definitely a well worth trip. Skegness Aquarium is a stunning attraction close to the beachfront with a wide range of attractions for visitors of all ages including exhibits of fish and marine wildlife, an adrenaline-fuelled shark dive experience and Aqua Theatre with an immense pane of glass displaying creatures like sharks and stingrays. There's also an educational element to the aquarium, with a focus on pirates and adventures at sea.
Yesterday I had my first ever diving experience and it was one of the best things I have ever taken part in. Not only do the team make you feel at ease, they help you learn about the equipment used when diving and how to make sure that you dive safely. The new full face diving mask made me feel a lot more comfortable and I could just enjoy the experience without the faff. Josh was incredibly helpful, guiding me around the tank as I had trouble with walking around the bottom.
Whilst in the tank, I loved seeing the fish up close and seeing how playful the sharks and the fish were. My favourite part was when we were playing with the fish by sprinkling sand on them.
I would highly recommend this experience and I know I will definitely look into courses available for diving in the future.

We had the most amazing time visiting Skegness Aquarium. From start to finish every member of staff we came into contact with made the experience more enjoyable. I’d highly recommend snorkelling with sharks, my 9 year old loved it. We can’t wait to go back and try a diving experience. I even left my swim bag and the aquarium went above and beyond to post it back to us, the manager Kerry also phoned to check it had arrived safely. Thank you.

Great for little ones. The dig site in Jurassic Falls is such a good idea.
The quiet side room next to the big tank in the aquarium is my favourite place. Really relaxing when its not too busy.
I only wish they had more space as its a bit difficult to get around when its busy, especially if you have a pushchair, but it can't be helped. We've been quite a few times in the past 4 years and always enjoy it.

Nice time out with family, conjoined Aquarium and Dinosaur Park.
In the aquarium there is an option that you can go under the water in full equipment with a professional instructor. Even children can learn diving.
Dinosaurs are very colorful and made with details. Some of them are moving slightly and making sounds.
Attraction for children is collecting answers to get letters to earn some price at the entryway.

⭐⭐⭐⭐
Our visit to the aquarium in Skegness proved to be a delightful escape from the bad weather, as it was one of the few places open. Upon arrival, the staff greeted us warmly, and we were impressed by the well-maintained facility. For a group of four adults and two children, the entry fee of £50+ felt reasonable for the experience offered.
Throughout the aquarium, we found ample spaces to pause and observe an array of fish species. The cleanliness of the glass tanks enhanced our viewing pleasure and facilitated easier photography, adding to the overall enjoyment. Halfway through our journey, we encountered a children's show, adding an interactive element to the visit. The opportunity for kids to participate, win sweets, and create balloon animals was a highlight. Additionally, the interactive fish coloring activity, where creations came to life on a screen, was a hit with the youngsters.
Although we didn't explore the outdoor dinosaur section due to the rain, it seemed intriguing. Upstairs, we found a café offering reasonably priced food, including a satisfyingly large pizza for £9. The kids' play area provided a welcome break for them to burn off some energy. While we didn't inquire about the prices for snorkeling or diving with sharks, these options added an adventurous touch for those interested.
The aquarium's diverse collection of fish, including jellyfish and eels, captivated our attention until the end. Exiting through the gift shop, we appreciated the token of two gold chocolate coins for completing a puzzle, even if the solution seemed a bit ambiguous. While the shop's prices were typical for such attractions, they leaned towards the expensive side.
Overall, our experience at the Skegness aquarium was highly enjoyable, offering a mix of educational opportunities and interactive fun for visitors of all ages.

Skegness Pier is a large amusement arcade and tourist attraction with amazing coastal views on the East Coast of Lincolnshire, England. There are loads of family activities to do here like bowling, laserquest and climbing walls. Wristbands for day passes start from £7 for juniors and £20 for adults.
One of the beautiful beaches in the UK. Kids will love this site as there are numerous mini games located throughout the shore. If possible, go on a weekday because there will be fewer people. There is a vast range of cuisine to dine.

Nice little pier, but it's a shame the old pier hasn't stood the test of time. The remaining pier does have sooner of the old metalwork running around the bottom of the railings. Even though this is shorter than the original pier there are some lovely views back to the town. At the end, if you look out towards the sea, you can still see some of the foundations to the old pier.

Very dog friendly, the bar at the end of the pier even had a dog treat for kaiser.
£4.95 for a coffee and a cake £2.50 for jelly and ice-cream. Staff in the Cafe very friendly. I would of given 5 stars however the toilet facilities could do with a bit of an update.

Can't wait for the new owners to extend the pier. Just a shame they are so adept at leaving rubbish out on both sides. Looks awful for such a good company.

During my recent visit to Skegness, I couldn't resist the temptation to explore the iconic Skegness Pier. This historic landmark has been a hub of entertainment for locals and tourists alike for over a century. From classic arcade games to thrilling rides and breathtaking views, Skegness Pier offers a delightful experience for visitors of all ages.
As soon as you step foot onto the pier, you're greeted with a lively buzz of excitement. The vibrant colors, the sound of laughter, and the tantalizing aroma of traditional seaside treats create an irresistible allure. The staff members were friendly and helpful, ready to assist with any queries or directions we needed.
One of the highlights of the pier is the wide range of thrilling rides on offer. Whether you're an adrenaline junkie or prefer a more relaxed experience, Skegness Pier has it all. The roller coasters were exhilarating, providing a rush of adrenaline as they zoomed through loops and twists. For those seeking a more laid-back adventure, there were carousels and gentle rides that offered panoramic views of the sea. The rides were well-maintained, and safety measures were clearly prioritized.
Another standout feature of Skegness Pier is the breathtaking views it offers. Walking along the pier, you're treated to stunning vistas of the sandy beaches, the sparkling sea, and the charming coastline. The pier's location provides a perfect spot for capturing memorable photographs or simply immersing yourself in the beauty of nature. Taking a moment to soak in the serene atmosphere was a definite highlight of my visit.
In terms of facilities, Skegness Pier doesn't disappoint. Clean restrooms, ample seating areas, and a variety of food and beverage options are available to ensure a comfortable experience for visitors. There are also souvenir shops where you can pick up mementos to commemorate your visit.
The only slight downside to my experience was the occasional overcrowding, especially during peak times. While it's understandable that such a popular attraction would draw large crowds, it can make navigating through the pier a bit challenging. However, this didn't significantly dampen my overall enjoyment.
In conclusion, Skegness Pier offers an entertaining and nostalgic experience that captures the essence of a traditional seaside getaway. From classic arcade games to thrilling rides and stunning views, there's no shortage of fun-filled activities to indulge in. While the occasional crowds can be a minor inconvenience, the overall atmosphere, friendly staff, and well-maintained facilities make Skegness Pier a must-visit destination for anyone exploring this charming coastal town. Highly recommended
Parking: yes, available outside pier and roadside parking also available

Fantastic pier with so much to do like arcades bowling and soft play only went on the end bit and took pictures of the scenery and the North sea the views were stunning and a tranquil coastline loads of wind turbines

The pier is quite small, but it’s nice to walk on. Loads of restaurants and arcades in the surrounding areas, lovely sandy beach also.

Not for me. The pier was closed. Theme parks not in operation as it's still not the season. However, the town resembles a mini gold coastish set up. Not for my liking as I'm more of a natural history fan. If anyone fancy a busy, casino, coastal atmosmosphere, you can have a miniature experience in Skegness. Only thing I admired was the view from the small Central park. Few decent fish and chips outlets with value for money. Parking is really cheap with £2 for 6 hours.

Been a while since visiting 'Skeggy' and was pleasantly surprised. Sensible priced food vendors, clean with regular bin empties. Enjoyed our day.

Lovely place to sit and watch the ocean. Romantic spot, lovers come to the end of the pier to affix padlocks as a sign of their commitment and love. If you're into that sort of thing.

Popped to Skegness for a couple of days away. Skegness Pier was really good, lots of amusements and games for the little man and a nice bar at the end of the pier. All very clean and tidy.

Overnight stay at the premier inn which was next door. Was disappointed that they closed before 6pm on Sunday and wasn't open during the week but it is the off season and apparently only open at weekends on restricted hours at moments. Very good inside though with lots to do.

The pier is a lovely place to visit - a nice little walk to the end and you can look down and across. The views are lovely and there are bars and gaming if you feel like a game of 2p pushes. I stopped to have a pint and look out over the water. Well worth a visit

Best lot of arcades in the UK in my opinion. Loads to choose from and packed to the roof with different games, roulette, ball and aim games air hockey, crazy golf etc etc! Great fish n chips and wonderful sandy beaches.

Yeah well it's not great. It's a pier in Skegness. In Spring when I went it was far too windy and showery to enjoy it. It might be nice in the summer but it's nothing special. Much nicer piers and much nicer places in general to go on a UK seaside break.

Certainly bracing when I went (45+mph winds and showers!). Great views along the coastline and the town behind and a nice focal point. Parking right up to the pier if you are lucky.
Natureland is a wildlife park which focuses on care and rehabilitation of seals. It also has an aquarium, petting zoo, and tropical butterfly house. The attraction is open daily from 11am to 6:30pm.
Excellent day out! Highly recommend when you’re visiting Skegness! Staff are very informative whilst feeding the seals and you learn a lot from them. The other attractions at the seal sanctuary are also good particularly enjoyed the interaction with the goat. Will definitely be back again when we come back to Skegness!

We didn’t know what to expect when we visited as it’s a small place and a great price.
We loved it.
The enclosure’s are clean, the entire place is clean and the staff were very informative.
Our favourite section was the butterfly house. We could of stayed in there for ages watching them and having them settle on us.
We highly recommend and will go back again the next time we are on holiday.

Great place that runs on your donations. We weren't sure what to expect, but we loved every minute. The seals at feeding time are funny & it's fun to watch. The staff worked very hard to make sure the animals get fed & everyone has fun. There are goats & one is especially cheeky & you can't forget the lamas & all the other animals. We had a fantastic afternoon. If you get a chance to go, please do & remember to donate if you can.

Amazing day out! Me and my girlfriend loved this place. There was so much to Sea ;). The seals feeding is definitely worth a watch, all the seals have personalities, and it's a blast to see them all chasing after the fish! Great facilities gor food and shopping and a great variety of farm animals, reptiles and much more!

Fantastic place to visit. Lots more than just seals but the main focus is the seals and especially rescues. Do a lot of good work and should be supported. Well worth popping into if in Skegness. Reasonable prices for admission too

Delightful place, the seals were lovely and the Henry the goat was very entertaining. Also the cakes in the restaurant were fantastic and very difficult to choose between. It was a cold February day in term time, so it may be more busy at other times of the year, but there were no queues and while not empty, it was quiet enough see everything.

We had a fun visit during the school holidays. It was interesting to see the seals being rescued and how they are looked after. All the animals appeared to be in good condition and well taken care of. Staff are excellent, friendly and helpful.
Only reason not a 5 star is we were only thee for an hour and saw everything twice so it seems a little expensive compared to other venues of similar price

I called in here with 2 friends, we are all on the wrong side of 60! It was about 2pm and we looked around at the various delightful animals. We went into the gift shop to buy something to support this wonderful place. At 3pm we watched the seals being fed, it is well worth a visit to find out exactly how much it costs to care for each seal and how they rely on customers income.

A great place to visit whilst in Skegness. They rescue and treat the seals then release them back into the wild. They have interactive shows at feeding times where the children get to find out more about baby seals. The range of animals don’t stop there though. They also have crocodiles, reptiles, llamas, chickens, Guinea pigs, a tropical garden with huge beautiful butterflies inside. Tickets are reasonable priced and the proceeds go to a brilliant cause. A must visit if you are in the area.

Beautiful sanctuary and a wonderful demonstration on feeding the seals.
Only complaint was the penguins barely had any water in their section due to something not working and it was an extremely hot day and they were just left hiding in their little box with no water to cool them down.
I think they should have been moved while their little area was broken :(

Really nice little place, we really enjoyed it. My 4 year old loved it too. We timed it well and saw both the adult and baby seals getting fed so that was cool too. Very clean, lovely staff, and a really nice cafe which was cheap and tasty. Highly recommend, can't fault it at all.

Few things were shut due to the time of tue year, but that's okay. There's was still a good amount open. Wasn't too expensive so can't complain. The animals enclosures were clean and tidy. Lots of seals to see and others animals too.

Our second visit and we shall be back. We love to know our entrance fees are going to help care for injured seals and is really making a difference. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and I really recommend listening to the seal talks. Our latest visit did fall on a rainy day and a few of the animals were hiding, include the beautiful goats but who doesn't want to hide in the rain?! This visit takes around 2 hours and is great value for money in addition to knowing the money goes direct to the sanctuary. £30 odd pounds for a family ticket for 4 of us just can't be beaten. Thanks to all involved in running Natureland - you are doing a marvellous Job especially when funds are limited.

Really nice few hours spent looking around. Alot smaller than I was expecting but great all the same.
Had 2 kids lunch boxes and some other bits from the on site cafe..really good value and nice knowing that all profits go to help the seals and other animal guests..
We stayed for around 3 hours but 2 is about all you would need.

We had a lovely 4 hours with our grandchildren (2 and 5) at the sanctuary. I enjoyed it as much as them. A really good cause too - seeing the new patients looking weak and poorly and those who are due to be released looking lively was a joy. The resident seals (due to their condition) actually seem happy and enjoy meeting visitors. I highly recommend to you if you love animals (whatever your age!!).

Great sanctuary with friendly staff. My boys love it here and I have a lot of family memories visiting here when I was a child. Reasonably priced and plenty to see. You can feed the farm animals for 50p a bag and see the seals get fed at 11:30am. Well worth a visit if your in the area.

Fun place to visit, you can easily spend over an hour even though it's not big. There are a few different animals there, there's a reptile den, aquariums, greenhouse with birds flying around and of course seals. When we visited there was an albino baby seal and if you visit at 3pm (theres one in the morning too, can't remember when) you can witness seals being fed and do tricks. There are also animals like goats and lamas that you can feed. And if you need there's a little cafe where you can get some food and coffee.

Cute seal sanctuary even in February we saw baby seals who had just been rescued ... They also have a small indoor building with fish and another with reptiles. Much better than expected worth a visit. The staff were very friendly and happy to answer any questions

Such a lovely place to visit at the seaside. The rescue seals are adorable but there are other animals to see....penguins, goats, meerkats, bird house, reptile house. And you know the entry fee is going to a good cause. The gift shop is good too

This small but amazing place is a real must have to see in skegness. In February prices were really reasonable and you can also buy goat food for 50p to feed the sheep and goats. The talks they do about the seals and rescued seal pups is great in February the talks are at 11:30am and 3pm. Really sad to know this place does not get any government funding and each seal they recuse and rehabilitate costs them a average of £2,000 and they rely on tickets sales. We definitely will be back 🦭

We arrived here around 11am, quite busy due to the Easter holidays. The lady at reception was very friendly and approachable. It was £27 for 1 adult and 2 children. We got there just as the seals were being fed, with a member of staff giving out information over a mic which was hard to hear. There is a little hut to get hot drinks and ice cream, and a café which serves hot food and lots of seating. We didn't eat in, but it looked nice enough. We walked around to see penguins and sheep (watch out for Henry the sheep, very friendly and liked taking a good chunk out of my coat and bag!) I bought some animal 'feed' which turned out to be just grass! So I was a bit annoyed by that, as it was 50p each. The lady in the gift shop was lovely and helpful though. There were plenty of wash stations after handling the animals. There was a butterfly section, along with a garden of birds. There were alpacas too. A very small aquarium , where my kids said it was probably the smallest in the world! It probably took us around 50 mins to walk around the sanctuary. Some parts were closed off and some things where there was nothing to see. For the price, I personally thought it wasn't worth it. Especially, as we drove over an hour to get there. It's okay if you were passing, or in the area as it is close to the arcades etc. all the money goes to continuing the work for the seals.

We had a great time getting to know more about Seals, Goats and loads more. You must please support these guys as they rescue on average 60 Seals each year which costs around £2,000 per Seal to then return to the sea. It's not Sealife Centre, Ocean world, it's much better
The National Trust's Wicken Fen Nature Reserve is a conservation area featuring rare species such as hen harriers and wetland habitats. A raised boardwalk takes visitors on an 8-route journey through the reserve, providing an excellent opportunity for paying and non-paying individuals to enjoy fresh air, peace, and quiet amidst nature. Helpful staff are available to guide visitors should they wish to take alternative routes. There is a well-stocked cafe that offers hot foods/drinks, sandwiches, cakes, and fruit.
Beautiful location full of interesting wildlife. Well worth the entry fee. The hides are a lovely little adventure, and the whole place is well kept. Beautiful wetland habitat - there’s a small boardwalk and woodland walk section suitable for families and a longer route which we didn’t have time to do. There’s also an intermediate-length circuit only open in summer. Glad we arrived early as it got very busy by late-morning.

Well maintained and charming place !
Starts from the National Trust center with a small trail (called Board walk) to Windpump and around Fen, the you can come back to center for other trails.
Due to Easter, Boardwalk trail was engaged with various activities for kids.
We also went to Adventurer's trail, but we did not cover it fully for lack of time. :)
Due to the terrain and nature of trail, would highly recommend to take cycles on hire, shop is just outside the center.
A note of appreciation for the folks at the shop to keep the cycles nicely tuned and maintained properly.

Wicken Fen is a spectacular nature reserve. The walks around the site are great and the paths are relatively even throughout. If you cannot walk too far I recommend the Broadwalk.
There's a lovely visitor centre and café on site and the staff and volunteers are wonderful. They run boat tours through the lode and the gentleman who delivered the tour for us was a wealth of knowledge on the site.
Parking is not free if you're not a member but I don't think it's particularly expensive, neither is the entry fee for non-members.
Although we didn't use it there is a cycle hire to make use of the cycle paths.
It's worth travelling to see, it's one of the oldest National Trust sites and it has a rich history to accompany its rich natural habitat.

Lovely national trust walk. You can choose either a paid walk if you are a non NT member or a free walk (although the car park is £3.50). The usual welcome centre and decent sized cafe make for a nice brunch visit. Water ways with birds and fields with pony's and cows is the way here. Bring sturdy footwear for the well kept flat stone paths which get slightly muddy in places. You can pay for the parking at the centre if you are not an NT member or forget your change/ don't like using your phone.

Absolutely stunning!! The walks around are just beautiful and full of wildlife. My main reason for visiting was to see the Konik Ponies though and the rangers we found were more than happy to point us in the direction they were last seen. And WOW they didn’t disappoint. If you’re hoping to see them definitely ask because they weren’t easy to find but so worth the long walk.

This was an interesting walk in the very fresh air around the raised walkway and the forest path.
The light was good the weather was bright and sunny and everybody was enjoying themselves. There was an Easter Event taking place to keep the kids interested and engaged, so the place was busy but never felt overcrowded, there were plenty of benches and seating to allow you to take a breather or just enjoy the peace and quiet.
The cafe was really nice with a good mixture of hot food, savory snacks, tea and coffee that could be enjoyed indoors or at the outside seating.
Toilets were clean and fresh.
Good car parking.
This is a really nice place to visit, on foot, bicycle or indeed a horse, the staff are very helpful and friendly.

A 6-hour walk around the boardwalks, butterfly trails and adventurers trails. Gorgeous countryside, glorious weather and wildlife aplenty. The highlights of this visit were seeing the female marsh harrier swooping low over the reed beds, a tantalising glimpse of a kingfisher and lastly the elusive cranes. We were just making our way slowly back and there they were, 2 adults with 2 chicks, happily wandering in a field to our left. A fabulous end to a cracking day. Thank you Wicken Fen...

Had tickets in Garden Family enclosure. Plenty for kids to do. Take a picnic. Disappointing that the burger stall had no vegetarian burgers and ran out of chips have way through afternoon. Brilliant racing as long as you don't want to see the finish. There needs to be a big screen which can be viewed from the Garden Enclosure as your 1.5furlongs from finish and you have no idea who wins until announced .

Fantastic day out, all the better to have luck on my side! Betting aside I was lucky enough to go with MyRacehorse which allowed me to get access to the paddock, owners lounges/dining area and owners enclosure which were all absolutely fantastic. The paddock was my favourite, being so close to the horses and seeing the trainers. Great day out and the venue itself was great, really clean with good signage and friendly staff. If I had to pick one downside it would be that it appeared there was only one place to get cash which seemed a bit odd given how many people were there. That being said everywhere took cards but would've been nice to have a few more cash points. Wouldn't stop me from going again though!

It has standard facilities. Plenty of tables chairs, and space but lacking in well stocked refreshment points eg: hot water stations with tea, coffee, and crockery. The expectation is for you to purchase food and drinks from their outlets. I consider it a basic courtesy to supply carafes of water, glasses and the aforementioned hot drinks facility as part of a hire package. It certainly wasn't the fault of our hosts that these weren't there. Some floral arrangements wouldn't go amiss either. It's the attention to detail that encourages people to return just like a good hotel NB it's a long walk from the car park area into the venue and signage isn't very large. It is a pleasant view minus the horses. As said in another review it feels a little dated and jaded. For autistic visitors the carpet patterning is a bit busy with lots of repeated mustard crosses on a royal blue background. Try to look upwards rather than forwards.

Castle Rising is a medieval castle and fortress built in 1138 that boasts elaborate decoration and covers an area of 20 acres. It features a gatehouse and impressive earthworks. The site also includes the Caithness Crystal Visitor Centre, where visitors can admire authentic English glassmaking art. Although it is privately owned by the Howards, Castle Rising offers tours of its well-preserved rooms, corridors, and great hall accessed through steps inside.
Huge impressive old castle. Amazing to have survived for so many hundreds of years. There's a walk around the top of a very deep grassy moat. Inside are steps leading up to rooms, corridors and overlooking the great hall. A little English heritage shop, although the castle remains in the private ownership of the Howards. Lots of walks around this area, and easy access into the village. Lots of parking spaces. If in the area then well worth a visit.

I would have given 5 stars but unfortunately there was a giant wedding tent at one side of the castle, a giant roaring generator under a beautiful old tree and giant portable outhouse for the wedding at the other side of the castle. I understand the need for revenue but surely there was a better place for the set up, or even just keep it to one side to allow pics from the other. Other than my previous rant the castle.was beautiful and really well preserved. I would recommend!

I really appreciate how they preserve such an ancient building. Amazing.... loved the place. Greenery around the castle is so soothing to eyes. No wheelchair accessibility as well as baby strollers inside the castle as it has stairs . £6 pounds per each adult

Whilst the castle has been preserved well and is dog friendly I don't think it's worth £6 entrance fee. To be honest nobody checked entry tickets so you could probably just walk in for a quick look, you'll be back out within 5 minutes due to the size of the site. Would have been nice to see a flag flying for a bit of authenticity. The castle is in a lovely little village which is quintessentially English and that's what made the visit worthwhile. The castle was a bit boring to be honest.

Great castle ruins, with a large car park. Not much here in terms of facilities, but it is a very short walk from the village centre where you can get a nice drink etc. The grounds and castle itself is very scenic and you can have a nice walk round, as well as explore some of the open areas of the castle. Could have done with some additional info boards round to tell you a little more. Don't expect a visit here to last a day or anything, it doesn't take long to walk round, but is worth a visit (especially if you already have English Heritage membership!)

A lovely hidden gem of a castle. The remains are intact enough to explore especially the exterior. There are a few rooms to walk around with information boards, we were given a leaflet with our tickets which had some historical information. Tickets were £5 per adult. The Castle had a lot of interesting history. There is a grassed area surrounding the castle which gives excellent views. Car park is large with toilets. Allow about an hour to explore. There is an excellent tea room a few minutes walk away from the castle.

Brilliant Castle nestled on the Norfolk coastline. Cheap admission (£5 for concession), too. The site itself is very picturesque, with the village of Castle Rising next to it. A wonderful little gem of a castle which is intact enough to be very impressive, especially the exterior. There's quite a few rooms and stairs to walk around with information boards in most areas both inside and out. For a small village this castle has quite a bit of interesting history. It cost £15 for a family ticket, relies on honesty really as it is seemingly easy to just walk in, was on our visit. There is a small shop in an outbuilding where you buy tickets. The grassed area surrounding which includes a very large protective mound helps with fun exploring for the kids. I'd allow around an hour to look around and take in the whole site. The village itself has a nice tea room and pleasant Church too. All a short walk away from each other.

Beautiful English Heritage site (Medieval Norman Castle) in the heart of the breathtaking nature, in Norfolk.
It's a little bit hidden so it doesn't get particularly overwhelmed by the amount of visitors, therefore it can be a good choice to stop at for and hour or so.
It's completely free to visit with an English Heritage membership card.
I can recommend to families (especially with kids) and to people interested in history.

Set in a lovely little village, well worth a look around. Tea shop just down the track, past the castle is amazing too. The day after we went they had a historic reenactment, which I'm led to believe is one of many events in the castle grounds during the year.
Free large carpark. Entry fee £6 adults. English heritage members free. Concessions I think were £5.50. Our toddler was free.

Stunningly well preserved Castle, lots to explore - fascinating multi-era spanning interiors. Spectacular moat and surroundings, really worth a visit. Doesn't take long. We visited out of season, but have a English Heritage Pass so it would've been free for us - there were no facilities open which was fine for the time of year. Steps are steep so access can be limited. It was dog friendly and there's a nice little walk path around the grounds for them

Great place to visit. Very well preserved. Good parking and lovely village. Great tea rooms and The black lion pub and beer garden are really nice.

Very impressive ruined castle with equally impressive earthworks works surrounding the castle. The castle has access to some floors and walkways. Small shop on site and toilets on the car park. The village church is a small walk away and worth a visit.

Visit this if you have a spare hour. Free parking. Toilets are available at the car park. We visited on Saturday and it wasn't crowded. The ticket price was £6 for adults as of April 2024. Not a big castle and so it won't take much time for a quick visit.

Great little castle to visit. I’m not sure many people there had actually paid to get in. 🤔

Castle Rising is set in a lovely village. Staying at the Caravan and Motorhome Club site, we walked around 30 minutes to the village. We enjoyed tea and cake at the Castle Rising tea room on School Road. Staff were brilliant, and the cake was excellent. We then walked across the road to the castle. Having paid the £5 fee per person, we wandered around the grounds and inside the castle. The castle is in remarkable condition inside and out and well worth a visit.

This is a beautiful castle! I like to go round and imagine the banquets, battles as well as other events which would have happened there. It’s a great castle. Well worth the visit.

Lovely, interesting place that we spent a good hour at. Nice grounds to walk around, the inside to explore, and dog friendly to boot. The stairs are steep but our pooch managed really well. Toilets available in the car park.

Castle Rising was somewhere we tagged on to our day trip as a good place to stop for a picnic. It was much more than we expected. It was a lovely place for a picnic but also a wonderful medieval walk. We had a good explore of the grounds and the castle interior. This is definitely worth a visit. We would probably go without the picnic next time as there is a beautiful looking tearoom across the road.
The royal estate of Sandringham House is a historical landmark that was the birthplace and childhood home of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent. The estate features displays of royal life and 400 acres of country park and gardens. It is an enjoyable visit with staff who are very knowledgeable about the history of the property. The afternoon tea offered at the estate is perfect with beautiful amuse bouches and attentive good fun staff.
Great day out giving a fascinating insight into the history of the house following its purchase by Edward VII. Staff were friendly, helpful and well informed both in the house and the gardens. The beautifully maintained gardens are well worth a visit in their own right with a surprise round every corner.

Had a lovely time at Sandringham House & Gardens. Beautiful scenery, we stopped to have a picnic. Had a walk around the gardens and church. Stopped off in the courtyard for ice cream then had a walk around the shop and garden centre and bought a few plants to bring home with us. Such a lovely day out would highly recommend.

Great to see the house in its actual setting rather than staged such as Buckingham Palace. Some impressive rooms. Guides inside were brilliant by giving insight about the origins of the decor. Would recommend.

Have visited many times last visit was for the flower show that was attended by the King and Queen. Was well organised and parking was included. Show was a lovely day out. The grounds were open and included in the ticket price. Dogs allowed around the show stalls, country park and the house grounds, house grounds only open to dogs on this day usually they are not. Shop is dog friendly but restaurant is not.

Beautiful gardens and a lovely house. The gardens are well stocked with a variety of tree types, shrubs and flowers ranging from more formal areas to wilder spots.
The area of the house open is part of the ground floor and in the words of a guide "everything you see is what the family have and use when they are in residence."
It was great to see the interior and hear it's development over the years.

Brilliant place. Lovely for a long and adventurous walk through the woods and the house and gardens are lovely too (you have to pay to access the house and gardens although children up to 17 are free!). Cafe is very nice as well and there is a lovely gift shop. Well worth a visit.

Wonderful visit to what feels like a family home. The house staff are so knowledgeable and an absolute delight to speak with - full of little surprising facts and tidbits. And back at the restaurant, the afternoon tea is perfectly judged with gorgeous amuse bouches and very attentive, good fun staff. Our mouths were very amused. Nice selection of teas which keep coming.
A wonderful afternoon at a very special place.
Thanks for having us!

Lovely surroundings and dog walks. Dogs allowed in the park cafe and shop but not in the gardens or house. Still a great place to go on a sunny day. The children's playground is amazing. Parking is reasonably priced and plenty of room.

House tour would have been nice to see more rooms than 3 and a room with paintings. Was in there 10 mins, and then there was the exit door. The gardens made up for it. It was lovely and had some really nice photos of me and my husband. Would visit the gardens again. The staff were helpful and polite. Coffee was lovely too.

Gorgeous scenery! Heaven on earth in spring/summer when all the flowers start to open up. You could spend all day here. The cafe and ice cream here are very good, too.

Was really good, cafe is expensive and would advise taking own snacks but the childrens play area was brilliant and the walk ways were good compared to most woods we have been to. Maple the dog had the best time

Amazing park! We drove from Bury and spent over 4 hours there. The park is HUGE and my kids had a blast. Just some notes: there is a cafe, restaurant, ice cream shop, and a store, there are plenty of picnic tables by the cafe area. Facilities are very clean. There is seating withing the play area for parents, but no dogs allowed in the playground, so I found a spot in the giant field just outside of the play area. Next time I will definitely bring a blanket or some folding chairs. There were also trails, but we did not partake this time.

A nice place to visit and see the house and grounds. Unfortunately there isn't an awful lot to do as the house is closed to guests. There is a nice tea room for food and a gift shop.

For £23pp there is precious little extra to see compared to free to access area. Only a few rooms in the ground floor are accessible to visitors. Grounds seemed a little parched probably due to the drought. Restaurant is great but lacking in options.

Very special place. Unique pieces, whether artwork or furniture, and history abound.
We caught the free “golf” cart up to the estate, walked through the 9 rooms that are part of the house tour, and proceeded to the old horse stables for a spot of lunch. Some old royal cars and fire engines are displayed at the stables also. Loads to see and the tour guides that are dotted around the house are very knowledgeable and helpful. Lots of the garden and playground areas are doggy friendly. Not to be missed!

The house is full of beautiful things and the tour guides are great, essential even, so knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
The grounds and lake are beautiful.
£23 for house and garden was a bit expensive, especially because the garden by the house is currently off-limits.

A super day out! Interesting house and lovely gardens. They are currently displaying a collection of the King's watercolour paintings which are fantastic. They also offer an audio tour guide which is worth having. A couple of cafes to choose from as well as a restaurant and not too expensive. Outside of the house grounds you can also visit the church where the Royal Family go for Christmas as well as a couple of nice walks around the woods.
Best to buy tickets in advance as you need to book a time slot.

What a fantastic place to visit. A beautiful house and the most amazing woodlands with a great outdoor adventure playground for the young ones. A great place to walk the dog, to look inside of one of the Kings homes. Ensure you have a look in the shop and if your hungry then food is available at reasonable prices. Alternatively you could bring a picnic and eat it in this beautiful estate.

Fabous Park / estate. The house is surprisingly homely. A lot of gorgeous crockery, etc, is on display, which I imagine is put away when no royals in residence.
The Christmas market was mainly food but all very atmospheric.
Sandringham always worth a visit. And second one third one...

Amazing place to visit. We were there all day. You can spend as long as you like in the private gardens (but arrive for your booking into the house on time). The staff inside the house were very knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting information, even things like where the Christmas tree goes and showed us the piano that the Princess of Wales (Catherine) & Princess Eugenie plays at Christmas. Saw a lovely exhibition of King Charles paintings of all the royal residents too. Also the private church that the royal family worship in at Christmas was open for visitors and it was small but beautiful inside. Outside the private gardens is a cafe, restaurant, shop and ice cream shop, a huge play area for children and the huge Sandringham park to explore. I would recommend and will return

Unfortunately I didn't notice that Dog's aren't allowed in the Garden's . I bought a ticket for the House and Garden for my wife and a Garden ticket for me and my Beautiful Dog . The walks in the other grounds compensated my Mistake of not reading properly .
Recommend a visit .
The Oxburgh Estate is a charming medieval manor house steeped in Catholic heritage. It features a hidden room for priests, as well as a chapel and scenic woodland trails. Situated amidst a moat, it is an equally popular attraction to St. Margaret's Church for those interested in the royal-Gothic architecture of the region. Nature enthusiasts will enjoy exploring Snettisham Park or the Gooderstone Water Gardens & Nature Trails nearby, while history buffs can visit Castle Rising.
This place was great, their is works going on to improve the building but this doesn't stop you that much enjoying the gardens and the house. A number of nice walks around the house and longer walks available, you can get a map from the hut to left after you get in. We went with a picnic but there is a cafe on site and a really nice looking pub just over the road next to a new play park for the kids.

The upstairs rooms were not ready for viewing when this visit took place, so I suspect from what was mentioned by the guide, it would be worthy of a higher rating when opened. The church was also closed.
There was a free talk by a guide, which lasted nearly an hour and was very informative. Jane, the guide, walked the group around the house taking us through the centuries of the house and family's fortune.
The talk, with more rooms open, could easily elevate this to a better rating. Guides were all very friendly and the garden was lovely too.
It had a free car park, cafe and toilets.

This is a lovely moated historical house. Nice coffee/snack shop and large second hand bookshop that collects money for national trust. The day we visited (Easter Sunday 2024) was busy. But because the weather wasn't brilliant the surrounding area wasn't suitable for walking, so only had a quick walk around house gardens. Imagine it's very pretty in summer months.

Called in on our way to Kings Lynn. Despite the Hall being closed and still under scaffolding, the grounds were beautifully kept. Borriwed a wheelchair and found a path through a planting of mixed daffodils into the woodland towards the church, which we hadn't discovered before. The cafe in the car park had a good range of snacks and cakes too.

Absolutely stunning, beautiful building and estate. I'm glad we were able to see it without scaffolding. It is a magnificent piece of living history!
Would have been 5 stars but for a couple of things... None of which would prevent me from visiting again, and hopefully they will be resolved fairly soon!
1. There was no gift shop. We love buying magnets for our fridge from the places we've visited, and we were unable to get one from Oxburgh Hall.
2. Maps of the property are available, and they have suggested walks. One of the start/end points of one of the walks was closed due to storm damage. An alternate route was suggested via a chalk board, but wasn't very clear and wasn't well signposted, so we got a little lost.
All being told, I would highly recommend a visit. Particularly if you are a National Trust member.
We had immense fun playing Garden Croquet, and practicing a little archery all guided by one of the fantastic volunteers that helps to keep this amazing building alive!

We visited the estate on a Saturday afternoon. The site is part of the National Trust. If you're a member parking and entry are covered in your annual fees. The Estate and grounds are very well maintained and a wonderful place to spend time learning a bit of history and touring the extensive grounds. A moat surrounds the home. The staff are polite and helpful and the volunteers were knowledgeable. There are miles of walking paths, a Catholic Chapel (still in operation) and two places for drinks, sandwiches, and treats. If you are in the area, this is a nice place to visit and spend time with family, kids, and take those visiting.

Beautiful small but perfectly formed Hall, great for a good look inside and a wander outside. Tea room didn't disappoint either! We visited when there was a lovely carpet of snowdrops in the woods. The nearby church is also well worth a visit. Advice: the car park soon filled up.

Fabulous stately home still partly occupied by the same family that built it over 500 years ago renovations presently ongoing was informed they should finish the majority during summer 2022, the guides are very knowledgeable & the history of the place & occupiers is fascinating, lovely grounds & gardens excellent for a picnic, main cafe was closed due to water problem but smaller pantry cafe was ok. All in all well worth a visit.

07-07-2023 Lovely grounds and gardens, amazing property with moat. All the usual NT amenities.
This is our first return after many years and we waited until the restorations to the roof was complete and the scaffolding had gone.
The weather was hot and there are lots of places to sit in the shade and enjoy the view. As ever, in Norfolk, the skies are spectacular.
The vegetable garden was lovely to see, with lots of fruit and veg, not quite ready to harvest.
Just one disappointment, not as much of the house was available to view as I remember and the tapestries were being restored so not available to see when we visited.

Belongs to the National Trust so if you are a member then entrance is free. Disabled car parking. Large car park. The house is well worth a visit with staff who are very well informed. The grounds are extensive with lots of walks or sit on a chair and watch the world go by. At the moment the Snow Drops are out, took a picture but does do them justice. The Daffodils are starting to come through and will look magnificent when out. Restaurant inside and out dogs are welcomed in most areas.

What a stunning property! We were fortunate to visit on a sunny winters day with the most frozen over setting the scene for a great family trip.

There are also great walks around the estate which we didn’t get time for.

This was our first visit to Oxburgh Hall and we cannot wait to return. The Hall itself is beautifully maintained, with plenty to see. The grounds were covered in snowdrops at the time of our visit and looked absolutely amazing. We cannot wait to return in the spring and see the Hall and gardens then.
Just be warned, that depending on the weather at the time of your visit, you may need wellies as some parts of the grounds do tend to get a bit muddy.
There is free parking onsite, a cafe, a gift shop and a secondhand book shop. There are toilets but they can get quite busy at peak times.
Oxburgh Hall and gardens is a lovely place to spend an afternoon with the family and we are very much looking forward to our next visit

The Gooderstone Water Gardens & Nature Trail is a beautiful outdoor destination where individuals who appreciate nature can enjoy a delightful afternoon. Families can take a leisurely stroll in this stunning location, which requires an obligatory entry fee of six pounds. A card machine manned by staff is available at the entrance. The area offers visitors plenty to see, including otters and other natural attractions that make it an outstanding place for nature lovers.

Quiet location. Very tranquil. Seating located around the grounds. We went early spring so difficult to judge the flower/plant displays. Includes a bird hide overlooking water with possible sighting of a kingfisher. Also a 'nature trail' - a walk through a couple of fields with trees ;quite damp and muddy in places. Plant labelling could be improved I think. Nothing particularly exotic or exciting but it was early season. Some lovely weeping willows and mature displays of bamboo. Tea garden and toilets and a couple of gift marquees.

Dog friendly with lots of paths. Lovely ponds and water features, bridges, tons of birds. A fabulous experience.
Its 8/adult, but a season pass is 30. So it pays for itself quickly! If you change your mind at any time about doing a season pass, just give them your visit ticket and they'll apply it towards the cost.
Also, during normal hours, they have a sweet little cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating. When I visited last, they even had a few vendors selling giftables and crafts.

Nestled in deepest darkest Norfolk lies Gooderstone Water Gardens. Which is 6 acres in size and has plenty to see.
The gardens are beautiful and there are plenty of places for you to sit quietly and contemplate, read a book etc.
Lots of wildlife around which is lovely to watch when it wasn't raining. Listening to the waterfalls around as well was relaxing.
£8 pp to get in and children under 16 get in for free. There are concessions available as well.

A lovely place to visit for a quiet, relaxing stroll, took my father (in his 90's) for an afternoon out, the main gardens are reasonable under foot, though you do need to look out for tree roots, though dad got round with his "walker" with little (if any) trouble, we managed to get to the Kingfisher hide, though unfortunately, the Kingfishers didn't oblige, he even braved the wild garden, which is a bit more uneven, then we finished the visit off with an ice cream frome the cafe/shop.
Well worth a visit.

Ickworth is a civil parish located in the West Suffolk district of Suffolk, England. The area is almost entirely covered by Ickworth Park, which is managed by the National Trust. It lies approximately 2.3 miles southwest of Bury St Edmunds and provides visitors with stunning landscapes to explore.
Constructed in the 15th century, St Edmundsbury Cathedral is a significant historic site which contains notable stained glass, crypt and font. It has undergone recent development with the addition of the 160-foot Millenium Tower, providing viewers with stunning views from its top.
Bury St Edmunds cathedral was very interesting and a joy to visit. Even the little cathedral made from Lego was amazing. A lovely visit for with family from Canada. Ending in a lunch at Prezzo a very filling lunch 😋😋😋

Spectacular views of the cathedral and ruins. A beautiful setting to relax and meditate. Visit the ruins of the old Abbey which stretches over quite a large area, or the later built Cathedral. Plenty of space to walk, or sit on the benches and admire the views.

A lovely place to visit, full of history, as you’d imagine. Set alongside the wonderful Abbey Gardens. They do tower tours a couple of times a week, unfortunately we went on a non tour day and you can’t just go alone, I think the tour would be well worth while as Bury St Edmunds is quite an attractive town so the views could be superb, lots of photo opportunities. Make the most of your visit to the town with a look round this wonderful cathedral.

Stunning boost to the cathedral and grounds! Everything is kept immaculate, would recommend a walk around the rose garden and a visit to the cafe which is accessed via the cathedral. Lots of beautiful outside space to wander, it’s very popular all year round!

Visited the Bury St Edmunds Cathedral, it is well maintained and beautiful. When we visited, there was a choir going on, so it added to the scene.
Minor issue: the Cathedral seems to lack restrooms to use for public, or at least signs indicating it's direction. So, when my kid had urge to go, even when we wanted to stay a bit longer, we had to step out to use rest room in Abbey Gardens, which is next to it.

Although originating in the 11th century this Cathedral was predominantly rebuilt in the 12th and 16th centuries with new extentions and additions finished as recently as 2005 . Myself being a great fan of Gilbert Scott particularly like the font and pulpit . As you may have guessed a predominant theme here is the man himself St Edmund . There being a statue of him and the wolf wic wic wic outside another of him inside and several artworks of him too . There is an amazing painting showing what the Abbey looked like in its heyday . Great stained glass windows a rather impressive Organ too . A Byzantine painting i always admire of Christ the one who is .

We went just before lunch, the cathedral was pretty empty but the public areas were kept tidy and clean. I get the idea that the woodwork has been updated recently as I couldn't see or smell any mildew. The dedications and concrete memorials were clean and easily readable. Giving a donation to the cathedral is easy, they have small card readers for you to use. There is a small well stocked gift shop by the main entrance which sells an array of things to take home. Obviously there are biblical texts and analysis of these. I recommend you visit here and the gardens in one visit, to make the best of your trip to Bury St Edmunds.

We have visited a few cathedrals before, and this one is undoubtedly impressive. The ceiling is amazing, and so does its stained glasses. It's great for adults and kids- have an activity sheet for kids to look around and find. We all enjoy very much - from 5 years old to 70 years old. Volunteers are super friendly—good selection of presents in the gift shop too. What a hidden gem. So glad we find it.

I went here for the Christmas service of 9 lessons and Carols. It was a beautiful service, well organised and the choir was excellent. The cathedral was well decorated and the front pews were reserved for family of the choir, which as an ex-chorister I thought was a lovely touch.
I liked the fact the service had different readings from various sources, the music selection was fantastic- the choir sang a traditional Ukranian Carol and it was just wonderful. They also invited readers from within organisations in the community that support others. I really liked this and it meant we could use the QR codes in the order of service to donate to their organisations if we wished.
There was also a member of the congregation who experienced a medical emergency during the service and the staff handled it really well and discreetly.
The organist was very good and I particularly liked the piece of Widor he played at the end.

We went to an organ concert.
What an amazing experience.
Beautiful surroundings
Expertly played.
Not many people sadly.

We enjoyed our visit to the cathedral. The staff were really lovely and for a few pounds we were able to help out together part of the Lego mini version of the cathedral that they have in the process of being built. The cathedral is also dog friendly and they offered my friends dog a cookie when we entered the building.

Absolutely breathtaking, the craftsmanship and attention to detail is beyond measure. The greetings on entry and the book shop were so welcoming and friendly, no stuffy reception here. Very interesting books in the Bookshop. And thanks to the Bishop entry is free but donations are very gratefully received. Can't wait to revisit St Edmundsbury Cathedral and Bury St Edmunds again.

The Abbey Gardens are a beautiful and peaceful place to visit, with formal gardens, ruins, sports facilities, an aviary and light refreshments.
Stunning grounds steeped in history. What a lovely place to have a walk and appreciate the amazing architecture and beauty. Walled gardens as well as the Abbey and picturesque local properties that showcase a blend of the ages. Great options within the City to shop and eat.

This place is gorgeous and full of history! I loved it here. The only had two issues.
1. I ended up picking up trash as I was walking. People can be hogs!!! There are refuse containers everywhere so there is zero excuses.
2. People letting their kids climb on the ruins like it is a jungle gym. I actually saw a kid knocking stones off one of the monuments. That was awful.
Other than that it’s worth the trip… you can spend a full day here.

My friend and I had a lovely trip here with our dogs. Dogs are allowed on leads in the gardens but there is a fairly long circular walk too, where we did let them off, not in the gardens. There are plenty of seats for relaxing and chatting in the gardens and we did some of that despite the fact that it rained nearly all the time! We had lunch and coffee and cake at the kiosk cafe. Only outside seating but there was a lucky break in the rain! Lovely sausage rolls and soup, cappuccino and brownies. Also got some dog biscuits. Pleasant friendly staff too. There are very clean loos in the park with an attendant which was nice. We parked all day nearby at Rams Meadow Car park for only £3. What a bargain! It would have cost 3 times that in Norwich! Would recommend.

Partner loves a good cloister I tell ya. View of the cathedral is amazing and the gardens are very well kept. The ruins are a joy to walk around if you’re into history and architecture at all. Squirrels aplenty as well and are very comfortable around people (if you have grapes). Free public restrooms as well, to include a small cafe (haven’t had anything from there but looks rather nice). Benches in case you want to bring a takeaway there. It’s great and I suggest a stop at the gardens for anyone who passes through. There’s parking 🅿️ right outside the gardens (paid of course) but worth it.

The Abbey Gardens are lovely and well worth a trip into Bury (which is a nice town with lots of interesting independent shops). In the summer there’s lots of flower beds and greenery. A lot of care goes into maintaining the gardens and I’m grateful for it.
The ruins are mostly open to explore and they’re absolutely fascinating - a glimpse into another time. My eldest child’s fascinated with them and imagining what they would have been.
I have so many lovely memories of the Abbey Gardens from my childhood, especially looking at the birds kept there (they still have them now). It’s really nice to be able to visit the gardens when I’m back visiting family in Suffolk to make more memories there with my children.

Beautiful place with lots to explore! The abbey ruins, St Edmundsbury Cathedral, the aviaries, plant shop, flower gardens, playground, cafe...there's lots to see and do. If you're visiting BSE, park in the Ram Meadows Car Park - it's just round the corner and only around £3 per day.

Lovely, peaceful gardens between the cathedral & old Abbey ruins of King Cnut of Anglo-Saxon times. Only the ruins of the Benedictine Abbey remain but these are extensive with interpretive boards showing the layout of St Edmund's great Abbey. The gardens, laid between large mature trees, are exquisitely kept, a perfect place of tranquility & rest.

A pleasantly set out and well maintained public park in the grounds of a former abbey. A kids play area is on site as well as refreshments in the form of a cafe. The birds on public display are cute, the ruins interesting but the most enjoyable and entertaining thing by far are the many squirrels that will come and say hello for ford.

Gardens are well maintained. There's toilets near the entrance. Cafe and shop. The priory ruins are amazing!
It is wheelchair friendly, although there are some steep areas and uneven terrain! There are plenty of benches to sit down.
Dog friendly!

What a fantastic place. It was our first trip to Bury St Edmunds as a family, and we took the kids through the gardens, into the park and around the ruins. They all loved it. Ages 10, 8 and (almost) 2. Despite being in a busy city center, there was an unedniable air of the idylic to gardens.
The playground offers something for kids of all ages, while the gardens themselves are an area of pure beauty. There was a wedding photography session in place when we arrived, and I can understand why. The picturesque setting offers an array of stunning backdrops.
One thing to keep in mind is that you only get a max of 2 hours parking outside the gardens. So you're best to look at the long stay car parks and walk down. You can easily spend a day in this park without even looking at the rest of Bury.
We can't wait to go back for more.

Always a place we drive by..sugar beet factory is the landmark...but we pulled off A14 on sunny BH Monday...what a lovely place..so full of history. A picturesque square with a unique illuminated traffic signpost ( like a lighthouse) leads to a portcullis through to the most amazing parkland which used to be the largest Abbey in Europe (?)..now in ruins with just the walls inner flint rubble core remaining..the limestone walls being repurposed after the destruction in the 16th Century...

Pensthorpe is a 700-acre nature reserve and woodland conservation park located in Fakenham. It offers interactive trails, eco play areas, and a festive market featuring food and drink suppliers, artists, and craft makers. The park was previously featured on BBC Springwatch for its diverse bird population including snipes, oystercatchers, great-crested grebes, lapwings, and treecreepers.
It's a lovely place to visit and although the admission charge is quite high, you do feel as though you get value for money and that you are making a difference and helping to preserve nature!
You get to see some stunning wildlife from the numerous hides.
Kids will love the playgrounds.
Great little cafe too!

Fantastic place to visit. Stunning place all round.
So much for kids to run around and explore. Park was great and indoor play was well organised and great fun.
Staff are all very friendly.
My little boy had his disability buggy we noticed they have certain tracks marked on map for what ways are accessible for wheel chairs etc and what aren't. They have tried really hard to be inclusive where they can and you can definitely see this.
Everything was spotless and well maintained when we visited today.
Would definitely visit again 🪻☺️

Sit in or take out cafe! 2 disabled toilets. Plenty of picnic benches and areas to sit down whilst taking in the gardens and nature surrounding you, lots of birds to spot! Admission charge to get in, carer goes free (take ID) there are plenty of wheelchair friendly trails and viewing huts! It's a sizeable place. The geese and ducks come very close. One decided to take a pew whilst we had a picnic but wasn't pestering! There is a big adventure playground for all abilities and an indoor play area for kids to burn off some energy as well!

Beautiful place, better in the summer when in full bloom.
The only downside is its fairly expensive at £15 for an adult. Especially when you compare it to national trust etc but I do understand that it pays the upkeep of a very special place

Me and my partner have visited in 3 different seasons which makes it feel different each time.
The lady/ ladies at the front desk are friendly and welcoming. They always show you the route map in the guidebook/ leaflet you can get after paying and the last visit we went, we couldn't go on a certain path (as winter) but there were alternative winter walks available.
There is an option to have season tickets, so you don't have to pay each time, worth it if you live closer-by. The pricing though is decent enough.
We bought some duck feed after paying as well as there are a lot of ducks around the park.
The paths are all level and good for all people - young and old. Able and disabled. There are many ways you can traverse the park and many animals to see to. There are flamingos (will only be out in warmer weather), 3 variations of cranes, ducks, nature trails, a millennium garden, deer, structures, statues, art, bird hides, a monet - style Bridge and more.
There are people who work on the grounds sometimes about and you are more than welcome to ask them anything as they are very friendly.
The place is well kept and clearly loved.
The gift shop is full to the brim! All sorts of gifts, jewellery, food and drink. There's a cafe and toilets on site also.
The car park is easy to access and plenty of room, even in summer. There are places to sit outside as well.
I would highly recommend.

The Gressenhall Farm & Workhouse is a museum in Norfolk, England that tells the story of Norfolks rich agricultural heritage and its people from 1700 to 1900. The museum has a play area, farm, and rare breeds farm.
Excellent museum so much to see and learn, the children loved the play area and the farm but even though we were there all day we didn't get to see everything. So definitely going back.

Fascinating museum depicting the life in the workhouse and how farming has developed over the years. Gift shop and cafe on site, you know what the prices are like.
Entry prices up to £16, with some discounts available for OAP etc.
Working farm there with new born piglets, cows and horses.
Plenty of exhibits in the museum both from the workhouse and farm machinery through the ages. All in a pretty good half day out.

Brilliant day out! The workhouse museum was factual and fun, you can see the efforts and care put it with the projected historical figures/videos. It brings the museum to life. The village section, garden and shops were very quaint. The farm tractor ride was a hit! As well as the adventure playground to let the children run off steam. Staff were attentive, helpful and made you feel welcome. Thank you!

Fascinating insight into workhouse history and conditions. Wish we could have returned next day, as being older, we were physically unable to see it all in one day thoroughly!

Cafe is unexpectedly lovely - good scones and coffee, very friendly staff. Museum itself was poignant; a good reminder of the horrors of life before our wonderful NHS but also a good balanced view of the oppressive/life saving role of the work house. The grounds are fabulous; garden, chapel and school all well preserved. Definitely worth a visit.

The revamp is very impressive, with new visual/audio displays, spacious rooms with plenty of artifacts to view and lots of fascinating information about life in The Workhouse, all presented in a way that doesn't bore you quickly. The cafe was reasonable, but not a lot of choice. It was a lovely sunny day, so a walk around the grounds was pleasant. Everything seems well maintained too. We walked over to the farm but we were very disappointed not to see a single animal. There was a tractor ride but it created a lot of dust as it moved so we gave it a miss. Slightly expensive but we did enjoy our afternoon.

At the Dereham Station, which is managed by the Mid-Norfolk Railway Preservation Trust, enthusiasts of railways and steam can appreciate the collection of moving equipment and have the opportunity to travel on vintage trains. The station is conveniently located near Dereham Windmill, where visitors can encounter a holographic miller and enjoy pleasant tea rooms. Additionally, Dereham Memorial Hall offers a diverse range of shows and events throughout the year.
A very nice heritage railway. I particularly liked how Dereham Station was presented and kept! Unfortunately only going as far as Thuxton on my visit due to an issue with a bridge further along the line, but still a very enjoyable ride.

Came here for afternoon high tea , disappointed that the steam engine was not running due to fire risk , but obviously you're still seated in the old style carriages , the service from all the staff that I encountered was of exceptional service , the food was good ( albeit in my opinion , not enough sandwiches , had a 3 tiered plate with all the food on for 4 adults , but it is only 34.50 per person with a train ride , so overall a fair price for what you get ) .
The side of the platform you get the train from is clean and tidy , as were the gift shop and cafe seating area , but the opposite side is a bit of a mess ( but I guess you're there for the train experience , which was excellent 👍).
Good size free carpark , wheelchair friendly premises 😃

Came here this being for The Polar Express Experience.
Honestly was the most amazing experience ever! Was teleported right back into my childhood and felt like I was right in the film and off to see Santa at The North Pole.
The cast were awesome and full of energy with their songs and dances, and the Hot Chocolate and cookie handed out were also really yummy.
Had a quick mooch in the gift shop afterwards but decided against buying anything. Absolutely fantastic experience and I would recommend this to anyone who loves Christmas, and more importantly, The Polar Express!

Fabulous Experience!! This heritage railway is run almost entirely by volunteers; a wonderful group who are pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. Make sure you leave enough time to browse the small but informative museum and sample the small but delicious menu at the station tea shop. The journey from Dereham to Wymondham is filled with treasures along the way and arriving at Wymondham is truly nostalgic. Experiencing the power of steam at such close quarters is an amazing experience and one not to be missed. Highly recommended.

If you like all things Railway, then you'll love the MNR. Obviously heritage railway trips are always a joy, and thankfully we do have a good few in the UK. However, our visit which was great, was made fantastic by the enthusiastic staff / volunteers, who were so friendly and helpful. Our 10 years old Grandson has an absolute passion for trains (all - not just heritage!), and his day was made by the chat about the workings of the signal box. If that made his day though, riding 'shotgun' with Victoria driving the (Pacer) train, and with David (the Guard) in the rear cab, made his year! We had a lovely day. If you do visit, I can recommend the cafe' there. The food (it's a light menu, but includes toasted club sandwiches, chips etc.), and not only are the prices very reasonable, the food is absolutely amazing, and sandwiches come with a large salad garnish, with crisps, and VERY thick bread with lots of filling. They also have a selection of bottled beers - well it would have been rude not to! If you're in our beautiful Norfolk, go visit!

Mid Norfolk Railway is not as commercial as North Norfolk Railway so you may not have heard of it but it is a gem. What you find is a volunteer run organisation which has a small number of steam and diesel engines - yes a little shabby around the edges but they are of an age. We went on this railway as a treat for my son's 4th birthday. He adored it. He loved the steam train, he loved the old fashioned carriages and the ticket collector! It was as costly as the NNR but it was a hour and half round trip! That's a lot more time on the train for your money! They have specials and events so do check their website out. Overall well worth it!! (Children under 5 are free)

My partner and I had our wedding at the Mid-Norfolk Railway in Dereham, and it was fantastic. Charlie and the team went above and beyond, and the day was magical. We set up on the Friday for a Saturday wedding, had our ceremony at the station and then afternoon tea on the steam train and photos at another station. After, we had our reception in the marquee at the venue, which we were able to decorate with bunting and fairy lights. I highly recommend them as a venue, the team of both employees and volunteers here are brilliant. Well worth your consideration as a venue.

We visited Suffolk Owl Sanctuary whilst we were staying at Stonham Barns. We visited on the Saturday and the Sunday because we loved it so much!
The animals are very clearly well loved and looked after, the Meerkats were so entertaining and seemed really happy, I can't imagine how happy they'll be in their newly built enclosure! All birds were beautiful, the flying display was intimate, informative and all staff were wonderful - all with a clear love of the animals. Could've easily spent all of both days here and have already recommended it to lots of people.
They even have a bird hospital on site, (which can be peeked at as long as you're quiet and respect the rules). The gift shop was great too, I do love a gift shop! Very well stocked and reasonably priced too.
All in all, well worth a visit and we'll certainly be back as soon as possible, very reasonably priced entry fee also. Thank you so much 🥰

This stately home, situated in a beautiful meadow and woodland breakaway spot, is perfect for a walk or family picnic. There are 2 cafes on-site: one by the entrance and another in the house. The estate also has hired bikes for a super good price!
Blickling Hall is lovely. Had a good walk round the grounds. Lots to see.
Went into House, very nice and we just walked round at our own pace. The Kitchen was interesting and lovely stained glass window in entrance hall. Parking was a more difficult than normal. As the coach park, was not block off. We got into the overflow car park, bit tight for our Motorhome. Worth a visit. The staff are fantastic and helpful.

A really nice day out with National Trust. The gardens are amazing and attended by a small army of dedicated volunteers who are doing wonders. It's great to see the gardens evolving. We walked up to the temple and then down the avenue, back to the house and you are rewarded by a magnificent view. The fountain is lovely to see. Cafés, shops and the wonderful charity bookshop add to the whole experience. You really could spend the whole day here. The location is stunning and there's even a pub next door if you fancy a pint! An impressive lake next to the house along with plenty of flora & fauna to take in. Highly recommend a visit!

Lovely house and gardens. RAF museum worth a look at too. Very helpful and informative guide called Suzanne. She was so friendly and knowledgeable so thank you to her. Lift is now working but tight if on a mobility scooter.

Nice morning visit. Take plenty of pound coins for the parking or don't queue & go strait to the Barn & pay there by card when you pay for entry, then put your receipt in your car clearly showing you have paid.
Beautiful gardens & grounds. Going to visit the house next time.

Our family favourite New Year's Day walk ❤️ roughly 2 miles in total the route we took, a bit sludgy in places but fine with some good shoes. Lovely cafe to end it with a coffee and cake. The only letdown was dog owners leaving their small plastic bags all along the route - please take it with you

After staying on Norfolk at a NT holiday cottage we visited Blickling before heading home. The house was open for guided tours, where as most NT houses are completely closed over winter. We had our dogs with us so enjoyed the walking route around the lake. Muddy in places but a nice route. Bookshop was lovely and cafe was reasonably priced.
Would love to visit again to tour the house and gardens.

Absolutely amazing place! Nice house and estate for a walk or family picnic. There are 2 cafes: one by the entrance and another in the house. We hired bikes on-site (for a super good price!) and went for a very enjoyable bike ride.

Excellent place to visit, so much history! The inside of the house is amazing. The walk around the gardens and lake is amazing... Then after your walk about just pop into the cafe for much deserved munch. Totally worth a visit... 🙂🍩

A very nice historic place to visit. It is full of history and amazing things. The grounds are really nice. It's nice to just walk around the lake and not have to visit the house. The staff are all very friendly.

Lovely house and good gardens. They really could do with more benches around the place to be able to sit and enjoy the gardens, especially down the front path.
The cycle hire place is good value for money and staff really friendly.

Nice.to find somewhere still open, the hall is guided tours only and book fast so best to get there early, but well worth a visit. The cafe is excellent with good food for good prices (not over the top) and a good selection too.
Gardens are lovely with lots of walks that are easy to do if so inclined.

Absolutely stunning Jacobean house and gardens. The first National Trust property ever given in 1940.
Incredibly intact with all it's original contents. Built 400 years ago but modified many times.
Really one of the best NT properties I've ever visited.
Volunteers are so friendly and helpful and pass on fascinating information.

I've never been disappointed by any National Trust properties yet.
Blickling Hall is a great place to visit and spend a whole day here.
There's a 2nd hand book shop with plenty of choice.
Beautiful garden and walled garden
And the house with the history.
A Great day out...we just need to be lucky with the weather (and we were today- Easter Sunday 2022).

Very impressive building. All open with lots to see. We got there early and did a walk around the grounds before the house opened. Plenty of parking available which is free for National Trust members.
The house and gardens are lovely and definitely worth a visit as there is so much to loom at. There is a short walk from the car park to the house which takes you past a lovely looking and busy (whilst we passed) public house. On entry to the gardens and house we were asked to show tickets which is good.
The house itself is massive and make sure you visit the kitchen before leaving.

Great place for a wander. The hall itself is interesting and the gardens lovely, but if you’re a family with a dog then the estate has a great range of walks as well.

Beautiful house in a massive estate, with lots of walks for all abilities. The walk around the lake takes around an hour, and has great views of the house.
Beautiful gardens, and the RAF museum is worth a visit. The tea rooms are large with plenty of seating outside, and offer the usual fare.

Amazing house and gardens with gorgeous land and walks. The second hand bookstore is one of the best National Trust ones I've been to and the cafes had vegan options which was great. Lovely the local products in the shops and had a fantastic day!

This place is one of my favourite National Trust properties in the British Isles. There is so much history and beauty to be found in each room, and the guides are extremely knowledgable and more than happy to tell you about everything they know of the estate and its history.
If you happen to go on a Tuesday, you may come across a group of librarians caring for books in the Long Gallery, and they are the best source of information when it comes to learning about the staggering collection that Blickling possesses (think first editions from Jane Austen, and one of a kind bibles written in extinct languages!)
The Second-hand bookshop on site is the largest in the National Trust, with over 25000 on display, so if you’re a bibliophile, this is the place for you!
There are 55 acres of garden (including a kitchen garden) and 4,600 acres of parkland and farmland, so it’s a great place to come and stroll even if you can’t visit the house itself.
Most things close at 5, except the house and bookshop at 4, and the parkland which is open from dawn till dusk. House last entry is at 3.30pm, and gardens last entry 4.30pm.
Lorne Inglis — Google review
Definitely worth visiting and exploring.
The estate and parklands are free to visit (admission fee only applies for Blickling Hall & Gardens). Car park charges apply: £5 all day or free for National Trust members, at time of writing.
There are several walking routes, of differing lengths and to suit all abilities, which are well waymarked and easy to follow; pick up a free map/guide in the visitor centre before setting off to explore.
Mark Richards — Google review
A great place to visit if you’re looking for a combination of lovely walks and an historic building tour with the added benefit for a really good cafe for coffee and food.
The garden are lovely and varied with both open spaces and wooded areas as well as a lake. The size is really good for short adult walks or quite long toddler and young children pace.
Lastly there is also a huge park/country side next to the estate where you can walk around without needing a National Trust membership

The weather was not good, but this didn't stop us from enjoying our visit. The house is beautiful, and the room guides were knowledgeable and very happy to answer our questions. Will be returning when the weather is better to walk the grounds with our dog. Had a stop off in the Café for scone and coffee, which wasn't too badly priced for a national trust property. Overall, it was an enjoyable visit.

Lovely place for a wander with lots of route options depending on how far you want to walk or can manage. The café was reasonably priced, had a good variety and pleasant surroundings in the buildings or the courtyard.

Really wonderful country estate. An absolute pleasure to visit during the Christmas holiday season. It was decorated for Christmas in old English style. The staff in costume and role were delightful and fun, while providing so much useful and interesting information about the history of the estate and aristocracy of England on the whole. Really a treat to visit and highly recommended.

We took a winter hike around the parkland over two and a half hours. The hall was viewed from different vantage points. The trail takes in many features of the grounds, the tower, the pyramidal mausoleum, the lake, the orangerie. We finished with a browse through the National Trust second hand book store which has many vintage maps and guides to many parts of the UK plus a great children’s book section. Looking forward to going back in summer to see more features of the gardens.

Such an impressive house, beautifully decorated for Christmas. As always the NT staff are knowledgeable and great. Super cafe, loved the Cornish Pasty. Great 2nd hand bookshop on site too. Gardens are great, probably amazing in the summer.
The National Trust owns Felbrigg Hall, a country house and gardens dating back to the 17th century. The extensive estate features lakes, woodland, and a meandering river. There are also many gardens to explore including a formal garden with an impressive reflecting pool and an orchard.
Wonderful day out. The house is a great visit and the usual National Trust facilities/amenities were good. The real selling point of Felbrigg Hall is the miles upon miles of walking routes. There are walking routes for everyone and the majority of the footpaths are even. I would recommend Felbrigg to visitors of all ages as there is something for everyone!
I'd also like to give some additional credit to the volunteers in the house, extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. Trust properties are nice and all but they would be nothing without their passionate and dedicated volunteers. Will definitely be visiting again.
Connor Butler — Google review
One of the best National Trust (or other historic) houses that I've visited. The gardens in late June were spectacular: the main garden is basically a very large walled garden, that's divided into about 5 or 6 sections, which makes for a really interesting visit. There is also a "nuttery" - the first I have ever seen, with a variety of different nut trees and also some bee hives to see. The house has lots of rooms to explore and there were plenty of guides on hand to answer questions. We had a decent lunch in the cafe.

We went to see the lambs on the farm this weekend. I had never been before. It was a fantastic experience. The farm is only open this weekend and they had trail for children with various activities at each point, which was brilliant for all the family to join in and have a good walk in the fresh air. We had lunch in the cafe and this was excellent and homemade. What really stood out to us was that every member of staff or volunteers were so helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming.

We started in the gardens, but it's a bit early in the year for lots of flowers, still enjoyable but would be nice to return in the summer. The house was really lovely and the history is amazing. It was a nice touch that there was a pianist there when we arrived, I'm not sure if this is always the case. Certainly worth a visit though!

What an amazing place. We spent half the day walking the very impressive grounds and the second half, inside the manor. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by original artworks, all the furniture, books and wall decor. This manor captivates what it was like living as an upper class citizen through the seventeenth century. Worth the visit.
K W — Google review
Great place to walk around - a woodland walk or a lakeside walk. We did both, which took just over an hour and a half. There is plenty of wildlife to spot on the walk. We will definitely go back to explore the walled gardens and the actual hall itself.
Becky — Google review
Enjoyed a day out at Felbrigg estate. This national trust site has a stunning walled garden with hundreds species of plants including flowers, fruit trees and vegetables, truly impressive! The Felbrigg hall itself is a historical Manor House, well maintained however wheel chairs or push chairs may not access the first floor conveniently as this old building is without a lift. Lots of picnic areas, toilets are clean but I don’t see any children’s playground. There is a gift shops, a second hand book shop and a cafe with lots of tables outside. Plenty of walking areas.
Raymond Kiu — Google review
We went to the lake recently and that was lush. You feel surrounded by nature. Parking is free for national trust members. The old building has a lot of stories to tell. There is a cafe, toilets and book shop. Is as good as Blickling Hall 😍

A beautiful hall with plenty of rooms to explore, Felbrigg Hall and gardens is definitely worth visiting.
When I visited the grounds opened at 10am, however the hall was not open until 12pm. There is a cafe, secondhand bookshop and a gift shop to browse if you are waiting for the hall to open.
The walled gardens are beautiful, with fruit and vegetables growing around the grounds as well as rooting hens and a dove cot. If you want to go on a longer walk, there is also plenty of land to explore, with walking and cycling trails signposted around the grounds.
Be aware that some rooms, mainly the bedrooms, are currently largely covered under dust sheets to protect the items. That being said, there is still plenty to see around the property.

This is a lovely NT property. The house is fascinating, the guides are knowledgeable and everything is beautifully preserved and presented. There's the biggest and most extensively planted walled garden I've ever visited, the doves and chickens strutting about the place are great to see. The grounds are extensive, we did the walk around the church and ice house. This is National Trust at its best.

One of my favourites, oddly as I'd never heard of this place! Loved everything about the property & its incredible grounds. I enjoyed it more than the Royal homes I've visited. The staff are full of knowledge that they volunteer as you walk around. A few surprises along the way too!
I'd highly recommend a visit.

Beautiful grounds and gardens, ample parking and interesting house to visit. Coffee shop and bookshop on site and large clean toilet facilities. The walled garden is incredible and there are various walks you can take around the estate. Plenty of places to picnic if the weather allows. Well worth a visit, even just for the views.
Joanne Sanders — Google review
Had a lovely day wandering the gardens. Good parking. Food is standard NT - so good but a tad on the expensive side.
Don't get caught by the V walk. It doesn't start and end at the same spot (which is obvious I suppose from the V) and there is a bit of a walk back to the start point. Fine for us, but could be less so for less mobile persons.

Great visit. The house was decked out in Christmas splendour with a special Wolves of Wild Wood Hall trail. Cafe was great, sausage baps, tea & a Christmas special coffee. Found a coupe of books we were looking for in the 2nd hand bookstore and finished off with a lovely countryside walk. NT staff wonderful as always. Great place.
Note: The car park machine does not scan the Scottish NT membership card but having to Scottish NT sticker on your windshield is sufficient to get free parking.
Steven Aldridge — Google review
A lovely house full of interesting antiques, several cabinets were open for our visit so you could see inside. Knowledgeable volunteers as always and a great outside area for eating. NT do tearooms let's face it! There's a lovely old parkland, a church and woods to explore. The walled garden was especially stunning with a riot of colour, huge pumpkins and chickens and doves roaming freely. Loads of space to explore. Well worth a visit. The orangery is currently closed, the icehouse full of bats, and work happening around the lake, but conservation does require such intervention.

Fantastic place as expected from a NT property.
We had a fabulous trip around the woodland route today in lovely autumn sunshine.
Parking is easy and right where you need it to be and totally accessible as are most of the walks , All surface Mobility scooters are available to her but you need to pre book them as they are limited , cost of hire is by donation .
Tea room was open as was the courtyard shop and toilet facilities.

Spent a wonderful couple of hours in the grounds and the gardens, having walked through the fields and woods from Cromer (about 3.5 miles). The best cheese scones and coffee for miles around, so well worth the trek, as always!! The walled gardens are glorious, with companion planting of flowers and vegetables, chickens pecking around, the octagonal dovecote, and heavy-laden fruit trees. A perfect visit.

We had a lovely walk here, despite the rain. We came in Autumn, when the forest looked really nice. We did the 4.5 mile route, although there were works going on so had to divert and not go around the lake. Not really a problem. We had our dog with us, there are on and off lead areas along the walk. Will definitely be back in the Spring (we visited from our caravan). Parking £5 all day for non members.

Well done to the staff and volunteers at Felbigg for the wonderful Christmas display. The Wild Wolves of Felbigg was brilliant especially the graphics that were designed in house...for me, this was far better than some lavish outsourced event and we look forward to next year.

The walled gardens are very impressive and I found the staff working in the house to be interesting, knowledgeable and helpful. The restaurant was very busy and not quite to my taste. the shop is small but with very helpful staff. Some of the trees are quite stunning.

Cromer Beach is a beautiful sandy beach with cliffs on either side. It is perfect for swimming and has a promenade and theater on a seaside pier.
First time there and won't be the last. It's such a nice seaside town, that is NOT overly touristy, which surprised us. We had such a great time walking on the pier, seeing the RNLI launch, watching all the kids and adults crabbing from the pier, walking on the beach, etc. It was a great day. Very highly recommend.

As all UK seaside towns. Some buildings require some attention due to looking run down. Some shops and cafes have made a lot of effort to maintain there premises. The beach goes on and on. And is ideal for families and walking the dogs. The pier has a life boat station at the end.

Beautiful place to visit for the sunset in summer months. Cromer is actually in the flight path towards the continent so On a clear day you can see many planes in the sky but it’s not noisy. Chips are great. Pubs are great. Park at the car park near Morrisons, it’s free after 6pm.

Great seaside town with plenty to do. The car park is located very closeby and is of walking distance to the beach. The Visitor Information Center is very helpful with helpful staff. Nice seaside town. Tide was in when I was there so I could not see much of the beach. Great fish and chips at No1 Cromer and don't forget to find the Banksy.

Cromer is actually a fairly nice little sea side parish, with decent stores, great sandy beaches ( that often have life guards on duty ) and isn’t all that busy. It would be good to have a few showers dotted around but otherwise there are really no complaints. The waves are decent enough to have a little surf too. Recommended.

Cromer Pier is located at Cromer NR27 9HE. A wide angle pier with a bar which is a relaxing area for drinks and food. You may take a lot of nice photos from different angles on the pier. Lovely Cromer beach with sand and life guide at scene on duty. Some people swim at sea, a sense of safety in the lovely sea.

Decent beach but very tidal. Be sure to check the tide times before you head down or there might not be any beach to sit on. Lots of places to grab a coffee or ice cream and decent toilet facilities too.
There are lifeguard stations as well.
There are better beaches but if you’re staying nearby it’s a great shout.

Long stretch of beach that gets crowded in the afternoon. There are chalet huts along the beach. Water wasn’t too clean and clear. Temperature was nice for a hot summer day. There are bathing stations and toilets too. We saw some goats on the side as we walked down the stairs to the beach which was quite unusual.

Fantastic beach, pier and promenade. Huge stretches of sand for children to play. If you have a dog you have to go beyond the lifeguard station before going onto the beach. Pier and promenade are dog friendly on a lead. Interesting to see the goats grazing on the hill on the walk in.

It's lovely, very small town, huge beach, fantastic fish n chips. Not much else in the area. And as usual the carparks are outrageously expensive. But if you don't mind a walk you can find free parking

A lovely beach, we went on the pier where you could do crabbing from the pier and release them on the beach. Lots of places on the pier to eat your food. There's a no 1 chip shop which is the most expensive chippy I've been to. Sit it fish and chips £ 16.50!. We passed. There are a few ice cream shops that also differ in price. Crazy golf the only thing crazy is the price! It's a tiny course and is £ 7.50 EACH!

So glad we decided to go to the Cromer beach. It was a really great walk and very easy access for my elderly mum. The promenade and pier are well worth the effort and walking through the town was amazing too.
If in Norfolk, don't miss Cromer.
The Cromer Pier Pavilion Theatre is a 151-meter long traditional Victorian pier that features a fully-working theater. The theater also has a gift shop and a restaurant called Tides if you're looking for something to eat. The theater is open all year round, and is one of 5 UK seaside piers with a fully-working theater.
The Norfolk coastline is I’m sure, proud to have this pier and theatre. A wonderful attraction, venue and a literal life saver at times as it also hosts the lifeboat too. This isn’t mentioned in the title, but should be out of basic respect. Never needed your services, but respect what you all do nonetheless.
This pier has it all, views, venues, crab fishing and a gentle stroll can all be had in this one place.
Totally recommend visiting here if you’re nearby. These structures should receive more support from government and charities IMO.

This was my second visit to this lovely theatre. My seat wasn't that comfortable but when they were in-situ MANY years before I was born, I don't imagine designers thought about an obesity epidemic, so I have 5 months to make the difference and comfortably sit. It didn't spoil my enjoyment though 😀

This was our first visit the the show and we were not disappointed. The show had a great flow, no minute of boredom. Great singers, dancers and comedians. One of the highlights of the show is the aerial act. Yes, in this tiny hall! Amazing!

Fantastic location with stunning views of the coast. A real shame that they decided to close the bar at a little after 6.30pm on a glorious Friday evening in September. We counted at least 30 people arriving, expecting to be able to order a drink and watch the sunset, but either being turned away or left stunned that the bar was closed.

We absolutely love this pier..We love the shows and whenever we visit we book a show. Our all time favourite being the Christmas show. All the staff are extremely friendly and hard working..My only small criticism would be the bar area just becomes swamped with pundits, and staff despite their best efforts cannot cope. It always amazes me that this happens every time I visit and it remains the same. Have you thought about a ticket system!...with a number machine displayed above the bar. You take a ticket and wait for your number to be displayed and hey presto, you go to the bar order your drinks, take them and then it's the.next persons turn...simple really!!!

Great place to spend an hour or so. Good facilities including toilet, food and drink.
Repaires meant a small section of the pier was closed off but didn't spoil the day.
Easy access for young old and disabled visitors.
Two swans were seen on our visit, which was the first time I have seen them on the sea.

It is always to see live music, so it a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
The theatre itself was a bit run down: holes in chair coverings and in need of a fresh coat of paint: the bar area quite was also quite disorganised - you have to queue up at the bar to get served ice-cream from a different counter.

Great place to take the kids. Good local parking close by in Cromer Town centre. The pier itself has plenty of seating, and a good couple of cafes. Toilets available with hot water, and change facilities. All dog and pram friendly. At the end of the pier is the lifeboat station, where you can go in and take a look around the boat, and together with its little shop, (selling a good selection of crabbing kits), make this a nice little visit. Best of all it's free to enter. Bring some bait for the crabbing and kill hours while chilling with coffee while the kids squeel with joy for our decapod friends.

A jolly little pier in a jolly little seaside town. It was a bit chilly and the end of pier was closed because they were clearing up after the New Year's celebrations but we had a walk around and got a fish and chip lunch at the cafe in the pier entrance area, which was very tasty and then we watched the new year's fun run on the promenade and had a short walk allong the seafront. A very British holiday experience!

On holiday in Cromer, we decided to see the show on the pier. The site was your typical British pier with lots of people crabbing. The pavilion theatre is at the end of the pier and has a small bar attached. The theater itself looks like it could do with a major revamp, but the show itself was amazing. The cast were brilliant and even though it is a family friendly show, there was a good amount of tongue -in-cheek innuendo to have adults rolling with laughter. Highly recommended.

This place is excellent, a wonderful location and some terrific shows available. It is a somewhat historical site and appearance. But don't be fooled the productions are first class and the atmosphere is perfect for variety shows. The end of the pier shows are long standing and very well performed, long may they and the theatre remain.

The Norwich Theatre Royal is a historic performing arts theater located in the city of Norwich. It has been around for over 150 years and offers a wide range of shows to choose from, along with a range of things to do with children.
Was here tonight with the better half to watch Magic Goes Wrong. It was absolutely hilarious! I didn’t stop laughing the whole time!
It was clean and tidy, staff were really friendly. My only issue with the theatre is the parking situation!

I recently visited the Norwich Theatre Royal before attending Stage Two, and my overall experience was quite enjoyable. Upon entering, I decided to grab a drink, but the prices were steep. Paying eight pounds for a glass of rose wine and a bottle of Coke seemed a bit excessive to me. Nonetheless, I proceeded upstairs and was pleased to find many available seats.
One of the highlights of my visit was the exceptional staff at the Norwich Theatre Royal. I encountered numerous outstanding team members eager to assist and provide excellent customer service. Even during busy periods, there was always someone available to lend a helping hand. This level of attentiveness and dedication added to the overall friendly atmosphere of the theatre.
I must say, the overall experience left me wishing I were a resident of Norwich. The city itself is a beautiful place, and it particularly shines in its theatrical offerings. The Norwich Theatre Royal seems to be a hub for entertainment and cultural experiences, and I could feel the vibrant energy in the air. It's truly a remarkable destination for theatre enthusiasts.
In conclusion, although I found the drink prices higher, the Norwich Theatre Royal provided an enjoyable experience. The abundance of available seats, coupled with the friendly atmosphere and exceptional staff, made for a memorable visit. Norwich is a city that truly embraces the arts, and the theatre scene is undoubtedly a highlight. I highly recommend visiting the Norwich Theatre Royal for anyone looking to immerse themselves in a beautiful theatrical experience.

Great entertainment - came for panto 03.01.2022 and was not disappointed. Very modern building inside which was unexpected. The show was delayed for 30 mins due to a main cast member isolating but there were plenty of announcements. Programmes were £3.50, light spinners £6, light up cat ear Hairbands £4, hand clappers £2. Small bar serving drinks and a small selection of nibbles. Didn't go upstairs as didn't need to. Lots of loos. Helpful ushers. Sat in the Prelude restaurant during the delay. Not serving food/meals. Toilets and lift next to prelude restaurant.

What a beautiful theatre, have been coming since I was a kid but today was the first time I been in years. Staff were friendly and everything seemed reasonable priced. Very impressed :-)

Vision of Elvis:
The band and backing singers made the show. Elvis didn't really arrive in the building.
Theatre: Friendly staff, clean, warm, pretty well ventilated, no cloakrooms and limited space for coats under chairs (not unusual). If you’re over 6ft or have long legs, you will struggle with knee space unless you get the odd row which has additional legroom. Binoculars available for £1. Toilets on multiple floors. Regardless of the performance, £28 was very good value for a ticket and night out.

I always love the Theatre Royal in Norwich.
The staff are brilliant and School of Rock last night was phenomenal.
The only thing I'd say is, you need an Isle in the middle so we are not standing so much and moving coats and bags so often, to let people past.

It was a year ago now me and my acquaintance travelled to the Norwich Theatre Royal to see the one and only Jane McDonald. I tell you it was an experience to die for. Nothing ever will compare to the immense excitement we shared when Jane was singing ABBA tribute songs. That will be a night to remember and we hope we get to see her again 😝

Came here to see Matthew Bourne's production of Sleeping Beauty, and it was amazing. Staff were kind and attentive, which was especially appreciated as we had my grandma and her wheelchair as well. The bars were well managed, and the chairs were very comfortable. Overall a great place to see a show. Highly recommended!!

First time for me at ballet. Enjoyed the nutracker immensely. What a magical performance. I went tonight and saw jack Whitehall. I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Looking forward to my next visit with friends and family. Wonderful evening's entertainment and a full house.

The shows are incredible. I just saw Sleeping Beauty with my mum and we loved it so so much, it's one of the best ones we have seen there. X

Jesus Christ Super Star was an outstanding show. The cast were magnificent, singing was sensational. Dancing was superb

Not a very accessible review. There is a lot of steps and although there is a working lift it doesn’t access all the levels. My party still had to climb stairs, despite a mobility disability. Three members of staff tried to assist but there was nothing they could really do. I just wish when I booked the tickets I knew which seats were accessible, perhaps worth having on the booking site

Such a wonderful night! Sao Paulo Dance Company performance was excellent - great contemporary choreography, brilliant dancers, marvellous sound and light direction. As always, Theatre Royal is a proper treasure box of surprises.

We saw Grayson Perry who was brilliant & the theatre is fantastic. I was just disappointed, as a participatory evening, that the wifi wasn't sufficent to ineract with the questions asked. When it did finally let me in the app wouldn't recognise my email address! I lost too much act time fiddling around with my phone.

This theatre is AMAZING! Every time I've been the staff have been so wonderful and really helpful with accessable needs. The historic features are so lovely to see and help the experience to feel even more special.
Definitely going back time and time again!

We went for Sleeping Beauty and it was extraordinary. Well written, great acting, dancing and singing. All the usual gags, but it's not panto without them. The cast performed flawlessly and we all showed our appreciation during and at the end of the show. Can't wait until next years.
Museum of Norwich Castle houses collections of archaeology, natural history, regimental history, fine art and contemporary art. The castle is a beautiful Norman keep built in 1095 by William II. There are tours to the keep every half hour and also tours around the battlements and dungeons which are very creepy.
Beautiful place, definitely worth a visit. Lots of exhibits to see. We were only there to go to the registry office for a wedding. Despite the prevailing storm, the taxi got us all the way to access the castle. Great occasion.

First time seeing this kind of castle, and it's own unique designs (to be honest) i like the shapes of this castle. You can explore whole castle and it's art galleries 2in1 but for this year 2023 the castle staff said the castle is close/not working and you cannot explore visit, because it's under reconstruction works... so. But all in all nice place to visit and explore. If you guys will be visiting Norwich this castle it's one of the popular places of this unique and beautiful City. (i'll drop some additional bonus photos of all around the city places not only the castle :) ) enjoy.

The castle was being renovated but the local museum was open. It had interesting information about things including natural history, Boadicea, Romans, art, and the military. It also had a special exhibition about a local shipping disaster of the Gloucester, that was carrying the future King James II.

I took my children to see The last voyage of The Gloucester exhibition which we found very interesting. They did make us aware when we arrived there were lots of parts of the museum closed so be prepared to not see as much as you normally would as you go around. The staff we met around the museum were pleasant and helpful. The coffee shop is limited in what they serve at the same time The food they do serve is really good and the member of staff that served us was a real star, she was very welcoming and helpful with everything we needed. If you are interested in local history definitely check out The last Voyage exhibition. We did find that the lighting needs a bit of improvement in some of the cabinets especially with such small name labels. At the same time if you're not too interested in reading the names it won't be to much of a bother.

Very pleasant visit to the castle. Parts under construction but still lots to view. Coffee very nice in the cafe. Vegan food was an orange/apple/ chocolate bar. Watched a wedding party move through the museum. The exhibits are fabulous. £6.50 admission. Must view for visitors.

Castle is under construction, so only thing you have access to is the museum.
The great thing is the deal for £2 if you come the hour before closing which I did. Which I think is enough time to see everything. There is natural history displays, historical, art, military, teapot collection and tapestry upstairs. They have a little souvenir shop and a cafe.
I have rated the attraction as if I would of paid full price of £6.70, which I do feel is a bit expensive for what is there. There is reductions for family groups.
All staff were very friendly, and I did love the adopt the artefact initiative which I thought was very novel. Would visit again when the construction has finished on the castle which is the main attraction.

For the cost of just over £7 the museum exhibit is both well put together and very informative with plenty of activities for kids. The historic items span from the roman times all the way to modern day which makes things more interesting also. It's well worth a visit and is an enjoyable place with very friendly staff.

The castle itself was closed for some heavy-duty building works when I visited, but the galleries were open. A fascinating display of artifacts from the wreck of the 'Gloucester', along with a history of the event.
Some lovely art galleries and even one devoted to teapots!
Worth combining with the ciity museum.

Didn't expect so much taxidermy. Lots to see and do, as long as you like stuffed dead animals. The dungeons were unfortunately closed due to building works, so we just saw the museum. Well kept and managed.

Natural history museum was lots of taxidermy specimen and there were another galary about the norwitch regime had a nice Caffè and shop there is no parking at the castle must use the park and drive unfortunately the castle is on a restoration project so is not opened willing to visit another time to dog in to the history

Lovely Museum, despite the castle area being under refurbishment. Similar to another big museum in my home city Oxford. Minus 1 star because the toilets are in two different ends of the building for Male and Female which meant it was difficult to find, this could be due to the refurbishment, so did not cause us too much trouble! We got a free entry ticket to their other museum, on the other side of the city too!

Norwich Castle is a must-visit destination for history buffs and architecture enthusiasts alike. Despite undergoing some repairs at the moment, the castle remains an impressive sight, showcasing Norman architecture at its finest. The castle has a rich history, having served as a royal palace, a prison, and a museum over the centuries.
Visitors can explore the castle's museum, which houses a vast collection of artifacts, including Roman, medieval, and Saxon treasures. The museum provides a fascinating glimpse into the history of East Anglia and the city of Norwich. The castle also features beautiful gardens, including a tranquil picnic area and a stunning floral display.
Despite the ongoing repairs, the castle is still worth a visit. The work being done is not disruptive to the visitor experience and does not detract from the castle's natural beauty and historical significance. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and they are more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the castle and its history.
In conclusion, Norwich Castle is a truly unique and fascinating place that should be on everyone's list of must-see attractions. Despite the repairs, it is still a wonderful place to visit and explore. Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to step back in time and discover the rich history of East Anglia

Norwich castle is very good and is lots of fun..
Even though a few parts of castle were/are closed for renovation work, there is still enough to see. The lower admission fees are very fair.

It’s a pretty decent museum and has some interesting exhibits and art throughout. Norwich Castle has some amazing history as well as being the museum it is today. Unfortunately right now it is under construction so many exhibits you can temporarily not enter, but this does not stop you from having a good experience. There is amazing paintings and sculptures throughout, taxidermy animals, fossils, areas about Egyptians, Romans and more; and a nice gift shop. A nice touch is that students enter for free, so this is a great place for students to come if they are looking for something to do in Norwich for the day. Highly recommend.

Not recommend going to the museum, the castle is closed. It is half natural history museum, half Norwich history museum. It costs me 7£for a student ticket, I prefer a pint in Norwich, prefer to sit outside the castle rather paying and going inside the museum

Norwich Castle, situated in the heart of Norwich, England, is a historic fortress with a rich and varied past dating back over 900 years. Originally built by the Normans in the 11th century following the Norman Conquest of England, the castle has served various purposes throughout its history, including as a royal palace, a county gaol, and a museum.
Its impressive architecture includes a massive stone keep, which is one of the finest examples of Norman military architecture in Europe. The keep once housed the royal apartments and later served as a prison. Surrounding the keep is a defensive wall and a large dry moat.
In addition to its architectural significance, Norwich Castle is renowned for its extensive museum collections, which cover a wide range of topics including archaeology, fine art, natural history, and ethnography. Visitors can explore exhibits ranging from ancient Egyptian artifacts to contemporary art installations.
The castle also offers educational programs, events, and guided tours, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists interested in history and culture. Its strategic location atop a hill provides panoramic views of the city, making it a picturesque spot to visit. Overall, Norwich Castle stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Norman influence in England and continues to be a symbol of the city's heritage.

It a beautiful place and quiet extraordinary. We'll worth a visit. I took my 4 year old and was surprised out how much she liked it.
Norwich Cathedral is a famous Romanesque church edifice dating from 1096. It's currently the cathedral for the Church of England Diocese of Norwich, and is open to visitors who don't follow its faith. The cathedral has high Norman tower, large monastic cloisters, and some original Norman wall painting.
Wonderful place to visit. My first visit but certainly not my last. The staff were very helpful couldn't and be faulted. Next time I will take the free guided tour.

An amazing place to visit and won't break the bank.
The entrance is very welcoming. Very open and modern with lots of information on offer and no extra mandatory charge for it, like some cathedrals. You can wander around freely or go on a tour. I chose to walk freely but would recommend a tour if you would like more info or at least picking up some of their booklets.
The buildings themselves and grounds are very well kept and are nice to walk around. I am glad this cathedral is being looked after.
The upstairs is accessible with a lift where the cafe/toilets and library are situated. I was lucky enough to visit their library on a day where they were allowing visitors to view their older books. This for me was an incredible experience and I am grateful to have seen the incredible volume of books they care for.
I did have to park a little bit away but Norwich does have a good amount of parking about, and its the only thing you would have to pay for in this trip.

A must see. Upon entry you are greeted by staff who give you a guide and explain a few things. No entry fee however there is a voluntary donation desk if you wish to donate. Donation is greatly received and appreciated. Inside the Cathedral there is lots to see with beautiful art work and architecture. Soak in the peaceful atmosphere and view the beautiful glass stained windows. There are guided tours. gift shop, cafe and toilets.

A very beautiful cathedral. The cathedral is the seat of the bishop of Norwich and the mother church of the diocese of Norwich. It is located in the heart of the city so I recommend anyone who goes to Norwich to visit. Entrance is free and it is pet friendly as well. The staff is also very helpful and inform you by answering all your questions sincerely.

A must see on your to do list if visiting Norwich. We visited around 2.30pm on a Sunday in December.
We were welcomed by a very friendly, bubbly, informative lady at the entrance.
Entrance is free but if you can give a donation it all helps to keep this incredible building in the remarkable condition it is.
We listened to the organ playing whilst taking in the breathtaking stained glass windows, incredible architecture (remember to look up) and the history. Pausing to light candles in remembrance of others and for peace. Sitting for a few moments of prayer and contemplation.
There is a wonderful cafe attached to the side of the cathedral, scrumptious cakes, scones, rolls, pastries, mince pies; eat in or take out. We sat and had a delicious cup of earl grey and a nibble of naughtiness.
Would highly recommend to all.

Phenomenal is the only word for it. It is free to visit and Dogs are allowed, which is rare.
The building is HUGE, with so many Chapels within it. The whole building is beautiful and so well maintained. Allow two hours to see it properly.
There is a Cafe on the upper level too.

Really lovely cathedral right in the middle of Norwich, in walking distance of the train station. I only popped in for a quick visit so really didn't get the full experience. I'd love to come back and invest a bit more time as there's so much to look at and so much history to learn about. I recommend giving yourself a couple of hours if you really want to explore everything, however it's still worth going in if you only have a little bit of time.

Very impressive cathedral, amazed it was free to visit! I particularly enjoyed the treasury and seeing the painted brickwork up close, many people don't know that these historic buildings were painted when they were first built, that paint has largely faded over the centuries.

You can light candles and give prayer requests.
It's donation only and walkable to the main city as it's the bottle m end of the city.

Just not enough time to explore this amazing building, it's actually really big and the courtyard reminds me of something from Harry Potter or X Men. You have to come here with 2-3 hours to appreciate.

It is a fantastic building worth exploring if you are in Norwich. Some lovely stained glass windows are framed by the architecture, and the craftsmanship is incredible. Free to explore and see what the building has to offer. There is a cafe, toilets and a gift shop and a labyrinth in the cloister. I visited late in the day so the cafe and shop were closed along with the exhibition but reason to visit again one day

I absolutely loved our visit to Norwich Cathedral. They have super helpful volunteers on the door that are extremely nice and make you feel really welcome. We joined a free tour which was superb, it lasted just over an hour and I could have listened to the guide all day. The architecture was simply stunning and the information that the guide conveyed brought the history of the cathedral to life. I loved the carvings of the Green Men dotted all over the place. Entry was free (as it should be for a place of worship) but I was more than happy to make a donation to this wonderful place.

Really nice visit, even though I am local and seen it all before....you can't fail to be impressed by the beautiful architecture of this magnificent building, the sheer scale of it is incredible. My young son really enjoyed looking around which was somewhat surprising as it's not really something you would think children would enjoy.......it's the school holidays & IT'S ALWAYS RAINING !!!! so give me marks for being creative!!! the resident cathedral cat helped my cause & obviously the cafe who is powered by BREAD SOURCE so always gonna be a winner!! Although the gift shop is seriously lacking ...although really busy with customers even my 5 year old couldn't find anything he wanted...that means it is REALLY BAD.... should collaborate with Jarrolds to stock it. Two Norwich icons together would be great to see.

Stunning architectural building made many of our group feel so emotional. To think it took 50 years to construct is truly amazing especially considering it dates back to 1096.
Our son took part in being a chorister for a day last Saturday. It was so special and something we will always remember.
The staff were so committed and passionate. It was a real privilege.
Definitely recommend the shop, too. Lots of lovely bits and pieces to buy for presents or keep sakes to remember the day, reasonably priced and good quality.
