Comfy, compact 2-screen cinema in an old sports pavilion, showing new releases and classic films.
Very enjoyable. Great location, good show in very nice place. Lots of cinema artifacts took at. Prices good for admission and ice cream. Well worth a visit. Recommended

What a fabulous place !!! Steeped in history, quirky, and great to see a film. Intermission halfway !!! A grand piano playing by itself in our studio, I understand there's an old organ in another. Excellently priced, as is tea/coffee and the confectionery. Really friendly folk serving, highly recommend. Read the info, which says ample parking - omitting to say there's a height barrier !! There is parking in the front of the building, but this was full of cars when we arrived, we found a space opposite tucked into the wooded area. Probably best to book as one of the studios is only 21 seated. Lovely museum like reception area. Will most definitely be going again.

We came here for the first time a couple of months ago and we thought it would be a great place to see the new Bond film.
It was brilliant to see the Organist coming out from the stage in the interval.
It reminded me of being a child when there was always an interval and the ice cream seller’s would bring out refreshments.
The venue is brilliant and its like going back in time from the seats and the foyer, and the prices are brilliant at only £7.50 a seat and cheap drinks and treats.

It's been an ambition to visit this cinema for years. It was a lot better than I expected. The Kinema itself is a jewel in a world filled corporate chain cinemas. Prices were lower than big cinemas, the seats were great old fashioned drop down velvet. The sound and picture quality was excellent. There was even an intermission with an organist who rose out of the stage. Well worth the 90 mile round trip.
john scott — Google review
This is a MUST place to go to see a film. The atmosphere is just fantastic. I love it.
G Davis — Google review
A Beautiful old traditional cinema, that brings back much loved memories of growing up back home and going to the cinema for 6pence and expansion is in keeping with the traditional. I just love coming here.
Kathleen Nelson — Google review
This is a must visit attraction when visiting Woodhall Spa. Unique cinema experience. Modern digital cinema and sound in old World surroundings. If your lucky you might get to see the organist rise up from below the stage during the intermission remember those.
James Smith — Google review
Absolute must if you are in the area. We visited for the 1st time yesterday and loved it. Great price tickets, snacks and drinks. Good size screen and we had plenty of leg room. We were in screen 1 and was lucky enough to experience the man playing the organ in the intermission. We were all blown away. It really is just such a joy and not to be missed. Highly recommend
T Mac — Google review
Gorgeous cinema with comfy seats, space between rows, coat hooks on the wall above the radiators, and in a genuine vintage buidling. Traditional box office at the door. Lighting, piano and organ, intermission in the film etc - it all adds up to a magical experience. Sells usual range of popcorn, sweets, drinks alongside hot and alcoholic drinks. Lovely memorabilia displayed throughout, including a spitfire cockpit (!) and movie related items. Lots to look at whilst waiting. And the latest releases shown alongside some classics! The small 21 seater theatre (no.4) can be hired privately.
Christopher Collins — Google review
Wow, I absolutely love this place. It's a great experience. Tickets, food and drinks are reasonably priced. Would love there to be a hot dog stand or similar.
We have been twice, last time in screen 4. We would have liked there to have been an interval in that room too, for toilet break. All staff were really friendly too
crazy sadie cat — Google review
We had our second visit here on Saturday, we love this cinema, so small and personal, we were in screen 1 which all the seats had plenty of leg room, even room to stretch your legs out. This cinema still has an interval in the middle of the film for refreshments and ice creams. An organist pops up out of the stage to give you entertainment until the film starts again, brilliant. Would highly recommend a visit here.

Our first visit to this oh so lovely throwback “Kinema in the Woods” cinema.
Located in the small Spa town of Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire - approx' 18 miles from Lincoln, the Kinema in the Woods is a real gem.
Set in pleasant wooded surroundings, the location was very easy to find and had ample parking.
The foyer was a real treat with wall to wall movie memorabilia - I could have spent hours and hours just browsing.
We were in cinema number two, it was compact with very comfortable seating and even had a piano at the front, cinema number one even has an organ.
In a nutshell we loved every minute of our visit and wouldn’t hesitate return and also to recommended it to all - a definite 5 star rating.

Amazing place to go for films. So atmospheric and genuine. We went with our children ranging from 8 to 16 and they loved it. Food is fairly priced as well.
Loads of parking, intermission during the film as well. Highly recommend.
Denise Thompson — Google review
It's the most beautiful cinema I've ever been to. The curtains and luxurious seating make for a thrilling cinema experience. The wonderful old organ in the main cinema is a huge treat to see in operation. Just like my great-granddad used to play in the cinema 🎥 I've been many times, and I'll go many times more. If I lived nearby, I'd love to work there.

Our first visit to the Kinema. It was an excellent time, really loved the information in the foyer about the Kinema and surrounding area. The Kinema was well presented and the staff were very friendly. Great place for families and couples.

Tattershall Castle is a 15th century castle with battlements, moats, bridges and grounds to explore. The building has outstanding historical knowledge and helpful staff combined with superb visual aids. The props were a little skimpy, but the visit was still enjoyable thanks to the Lancaster bomber overhead.
Lovely day out, quick top while in the local area. The church is also stunning, take a moment to go inside and look up. The graveyard is also worth a look, quite a few headstones from 1880s. Made my way up to the top of the tower for some sunning views.
Dave Cutts — Google review
One of the best castles we have visited. There are a lot of steps to climb but for those that are able, its well worth a visit. There are four floors so you can catch your breath in between each floor. You will find plenty of information in each room and at the top the views are stunning. There's a small shop where you pay the entrance fee and you can buy bottles/cans of soft drinks, there's also a toilet block not far from the shop. Ample parking too. Plus there's a room with clothes replicating the period to dress up in and take photos of yourself.
Irene Holt — Google review
Much more to see than we expected. A friendly and helpful guide tells the story of this magnificent brick castle and its various owners. Fantastically extensive views from the roof. No coffee shop, but the church next door goes coffee and cake (but closes quite early!). Plenty of tables for a picnic.

Worth a visit if in the area. Really nice grounds and an interesting look into the history of the place.
Admission was about what you expect. We paid for a family ticket which is £25 for 2 adults and 3 children. Also bought an ice cream from the shop there and the prices were surprisingly very reasonable!
You can go to the top of the main house which has some really good views around the local area.

It's a very lovely castle and it's well looked after. Beautiful grounds around the castle, a moat and a church. It's situated in a nice little village and very easy to access.
There was plenty of parking on the Saturday that we went, although I can imagine, peak summer, it may be busy as the views from the top of the castle on a warm, sunny day would be beautiful.
Lots of useful and historical information is dotted around the castle, which is great for those looking for an in depth knowledge of the castle's history.
The staff were very friendly and polite as I find they always are at national trust places.
The only disappointment for us, at no fault of the staff, was that the basement wasn't open due to the amount of rainfall we've had lately overflowing the moat and flooding the basement. However, it's only a 40 minute drive so I'll certainly be going back in the summer to enjoy it in full 👍

Superb historical building with lots of history.
Stuff helpful together with outstanding knowledge.
Also really informative visual aids.
However the props were a little skimpy.
To add to the fun a Lancaster bomber circled overhead.
Really enjoyed it would recommend a visit.

We visited Tattershall Castle with two of our grandchildren. It was a flying visit as we had booked to visit the Petwood Hotel for afternoon tea. That said we had time to visit the church next door that was very nice and under some restoration work. From there we walked the short distance to the National Trust reception for the Castle. The team were very helpful and gave us useful information for the visit. We had time to climb the 149 steps to the castle roof. Although you need to be vigilant with young children climbing the stairs, they are actually quite wide and there are many windows, so well lit as well. We arrived on the roof for spectacular views in every direction, stunning.
We descended back down and walked around the rooms at the bottom. There are floors to peruse, but as said we were a bit pushed for time.
Stopped back off in reception as our eagle eyed grandchildren had seen the second hand books for sale. We bought them one each and one for myself. With that we left for our onward journey.
The castle has a lovely location and well worth a visit. We are national Trust members, so would certainly recommend to visit if you're in the area.

A small entrance follows into a lovely car park, lined with trees. The path follows past the church and into the castle grounds. There's grass for picnics, but the toilet is on the outside of the site entrance. The castle is a great walk around, steeped in history. Not just the history from long ago, but we enjoyed reading the graffiti from the last 100 years or so. The views from the top are great, well worth the climb up the stairs.
James Ryan — Google review
Lovely little gem of a place. If you have a couple of hours to spare (it's not a full day out), Shop is decent and not overpriced, the grounds have a nice little trail and there is a church on the grounds which is very nice. Some great views from the top. This place also has a very interesting and rich history.
Peter Dooley — Google review
An unusual castle here with the red brick facade. I imagine it looks even better on a sunny day. To fully experience it, you need to be prepared for the spiral staircase to get to 80% of it, although it is a wide and easy one as spiral staircases go, and has a good handrail. There isn't that much to see in each room, other than a fireplace and a few info boards, but the building itself is quite intriguing to explore. The views from the top are then quite vast, but be prepared if it's cold and windy as you step out. Sadly no cafe here, but there are a few sweets and lollies in the reception, and there's toilet facilities and free parking nearby. Whilst there aren't any grounds to explore like many NT properties, there are public footpaths along the waterways.
Mark Webster — Google review
I adore this place. I love its location. You can't go wrong. The church is very sweet and interesting too. Lots and lots and lots of spiral steps! Ample car parking. Interesting, inviting chambers, garderobes, fireplaces and wonderful views. NB. No tea shop!
Lynette Riley — Google review
A beautiful and unique castle with some old history. The tower/castle is quite tall and interesting, you can climb at the very top of it. At the very top the feeling and the view is astonishing... additionally you can descend in the castle cellars as well it's not so big to explore, but still interesting to visit. This place have a small tradition with the wedding's stuff. So you can often see some bride's and etc taking photos of themselves to remember. The price for the adults tickets is 8 pounds, for kids i think 4 pounds each. But prices are quite fair i Guess. It's a nice place to spend time with your kids and families. My verdict - 7.5/10.
Mantvydas ?. — Google review
We had a lovely visit to the castle. There is a picnic area on the old bowling green and toilet are accessible before entry. Castle is well maintained and has some fantastic views from the top. Found looking at the centuries of graffiti dating to 1604 fascinating - nothing changes! Staff very friendly and knowledgeable.
Jamli — Google review
What a beautiful building in wonderfully kept grounds, warm and informative welcome. There is no cafe and the toilets are behind the reception. The castle is grand with plenty of history, once owned by a Cromwell and then Charles Brandon, Henry VIII best friend. 144 steps to the top which is a challenge but worth it for the view, if you decide not to go up, review my pictures. There is very little in the building, mostly empty rooms, with couple of reading locations. After return back down you can enjoy a ice cream from the shop
Peter Durkin — Google review
I really liked this castle. It has been well preserved and has links to old mate Curzon who perhaps had more a sense of heritage protection than I had previously given him credit for considering his flamboyant expenditure in showing off his wealth in other areas of his life. Really nice place to spend a few hours.
Nick — Google review
Lovely grounds, small shop where you can buy and ice cream but no other catering facilities on site.
Personally my favourite aspect of the castle is the medieval graffiti. It gives a different insight into our past.
Inside the castle is pretty empty. Good views from the top.

Tattershall Castle is a fascinating place with its unique four towers. Although my initial expectations were moderate, I was pleasantly surprised. The castle offers guided tours that are led by passionate and knowledgeable guides, adding a deeper layer to the visit. The picturesque surroundings and the castle's history make it truly special. For history and architecture enthusiasts, it's an absolute must-see. I highly recommend it!

One of the oldest brick buildings in the uk and kept the kids amused for a few hours. 150 stairs to the roof but worth exploring. Nearby airbase is noisy, but adds things for the kids to spot!
Dan P — Google review
Lovely castle, had a great visit, went up to the roof and had great views of the surrounding countryside, we then popped into the church next door for tea and cake.
Sandra Sadler — Google review
We attended a Heritage event day, and there was a little bit of a queue outside to get in, I think we were a bit keen! There was plenty to see at the Castle, the staff had put out games for the kids to play as well. We were fortunate with the weather, showed the beautiful scenery all over when you walked to the top. The views were amazing. There were talks during the day, which provided the history of the castle. There were lots of information boards to show what part of the castle was what and the history behind when it was destroyed and rebuilt etc. Well worth the visit.
Hayley Nunn — Google review
We had a wonderful visit to Tatershall Castle; we were staying in the area and decided to make the most of our membership. We anticipated the castle being not much more than ruins (we didn't read up beforehand); however, much to our delight, it was well-kept and restored in the early 1900s before being handed over to the trust. It has a fantastic history, and the restoration (no doubt with later support works by the trust) meant that the building has stood the test of time. Whilst there's not much furniture or elements, the architecture and history are worth the trip - plus the fantastic views from the roof! It's well worth a trip if you're in the area.

Springfields Outlet Shopping & Leisure is a picturesque village-style shopping center that offers numerous high-street brands at discounted prices, making it an attractive destination for bargain hunters. In addition to shopping, visitors can also enjoy dining options such as coffee shops and restaurants on the premises. The complex has well-maintained gardens, both indoor and outdoor toilet facilities, and even a fun park for children.
Had heard of Springfields but have never been in. Easy to navigate to, tried to find a disabled parking bay but as the place was so busy I couldn’t find one. Really cheap car parking charge as well. Lots of discount stores so will definitely be returning for birthdays/Christmas shopping. Ladies toilets were clean but the one hand dryer wasn’t working. All in all I will recommend this outlet to others.

Was very busy but well worth it. Has decent amount of shops, couple coffee shops, only one restaurant on site to eat. Has Travelodge on site where we stayed, so if you are shopped out you can stay there for £30 a night.
So overall good experience. We went to M&S and Next and found so many discounts that we ended up buying loads of stuff 😁
And parking there is only £2 overnight.

Depending on the time of year, the gardens here are well worth a visit. This review is based on a visit during the last week of April with the tulips in full bloom! It was absolutely stunning and an absolute joy to walk around. The outlet itself has a very good selection of shops and a new updated Skechers store which is excellent! **Make sure you join the Springfield VIP and get 10% off in that store, amongst others**
But as my photos show this time of year its 100% worth a visit for the gardens alone... Top job 👍 highly recommended.
Dave London — Google review
Only giving this 3 stars as a shopping outlet, very limited shops all very pricey. The food drink establishments are extortionate in price. Disabled parking is v poor considering most visitors were elderly on my visit.
The positive was the gardens and walks with well kept borders and fountains are fabulous. Take a picnic and sit in gardens. Don't bother with shops 😊
Really not worth a visit won't be going back

I have been visiting and observing the venue for past 13 years, it changed and evolved. From my perspective for good. Lots of room for everyone, shops, flowers and so on...
Good place to get your youngest ones for a walk but not only, there are few activities addressed just for them. I hope no one would say they regret visiting Springfields.

Lots of brands in one place. Good facilities. We had tea and cake in the restaurant very nice but a bit on the pricey side. As it was raining we didn't walk round the gardens. Which we have done in the past at this time of year to see the beautiful daffodils narcissus and tulips.

Later night opening hours for Christmas and the winter lights trail was fabulous. Lots of choice of shops, free parking for the event and all so beautifully decorated for Christmas.

I'm a shopperholic and I love my designer outlets!
This one, however, is probably one of the worst, being the smallest one I've ever visited with very little interesting shops for my personal experience.
One of the restaurants on site (can't remember name) did really good cake but they aren't cheap prices. Beautiful little venue though.
As I say shops aren't to my taste and we spent less than an hour here. Can't believe you have to pay for parking too, don't get this at many of the outlets across the country.
More than likely won't return

Ely Cathedral, an impressive Gothic-style structure, is easily recognizable from afar due to its dominating silhouette that earned it the nickname "Ship of the Fens." The nave features simple yet elegant lines which create a spacious and bright interior. Notable highlights include a mesmerizing ceiling, a masterful 14th-century Octagon, and towering structures adorned with iridescent colors.
Excellent cathedral to visit, and highly recommend the Octagon Tower tour and Stained Glass museum as well.
The church is nearing 700 years old, though painted ceiling is newer. It’s interesting to walk through (as most English cathedrals are), but the standout point is the octagon centre. The tour gives a lot more history, including the architectural and engineering cleverness, and allows you to go up to the top and see the almost 1,000 year old oak timbers holding it up and look down into the cathedral from behind the Angel panels.
Becky T — Google review
We visited this magnificent cathedral on Sunday. Although the stained glass museum is not open, the experience is quite impressive. Especially the colors on the walls that are drawn by sunlight and the stained glasses are magical. Those colors combined with exquisite carvings and the tranquil sound from the organ, let us forget the time and be soothed. Also recommend the trails suggested by the Ely Country Park, the views of River Great Ouse are beautiful.

Ely Cathedral, a magnificent architectural masterpiece nestled in the heart of the charming city of Ely, is a place that transports you to a realm of awe-inspiring beauty and spiritual contemplation. During my recent visit, I was left utterly captivated by the cathedral's grandeur, rich history, and serene atmosphere.
From the moment I set foot inside, the sheer scale and intricacy of the cathedral's design took my breath away. The soaring ceilings, ornate stained glass windows, and meticulously carved stone details are a testament to the skill and artistry of the craftsmen who dedicated themselves to its creation. Each step along the nave, transepts, and chapels reveals new wonders to behold, with architectural surprises at every turn.
One of the highlights of my visit was the chance to witness the cathedral's renowned Octagon Tower, an architectural marvel that rises majestically above the crossing. The intricate tracery and delicate stonework of the tower left me in awe of the vision and engineering prowess of those who conceived and constructed it. I was fortunate enough to ascend to the tower's summit, where I was rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, offering a breathtaking perspective of Ely and its picturesque surroundings.

Full of history, full of life despite being one of the oldest in the country. Ely cathedral is a place to take a good slow walk through hundreds years of colourful history. It's a great trip for even non-religious visitors.
Nguyễn Văn Hiếu — Google review
Wow! This is the most incredible cathedral. Somehow more beautiful than the others due to its remarkable medieval, timber framed octagon, making it unique.
As you walk in, you are also met by a stunning painted ceiling running the whole length of the first part of the building.
It has so many amazing bits of history in and around it, so worthy of a visit.
There is a audio guide available giving you the best of information and helping you to navigate.
They have recently added new lighting, which is an ongoing project, so the ceilings are just stunning, the angels leaning forward from on high, beautiful.
It is a wonder in every sense and a cathedral not to be missed.

A most pleasant few hours. Good walk down to the river with made paths. There are paved routes down to the river where you can enjoy a drink overlooking the river.
The city centre is ok but watch out for the vagrants. On the plus side lots of old buildings and 1950s shop fronts.
Excellent parking.

Loved visiting Ely Cathedral. It is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Such a beautiful piece of architecture. We didn't do the tours but understand there are other closed off areas where you can pay extra for tours. We also visited the stain glass museum which was equally beautiful. Highly recommend a visit to see born parts.

Magnificent and breath-taking. This is a true wonder. Visited on a cool Saturday afternoon with a couple of colleagues at school and had a good time.
The experience in this massive cathedral with its rich history was like reading a thriller novel. The choir was amazing, and we just sat the in the utter transfiguration. Student ID admits you into the cathedral for free.
You must checkout the gift shop when you visit or market across the road for great souvenirs.

Absolutely magnificent.
They have tours inside, which are well worth it to feel the full experience of immersing yourself in the cathedral. The grounds are well maintained, and their information points are interesting. Although there is currently maintenance work being undertaken, it does not affect the sheer magnificence of this cathedral.
A must-see in Ely!

Amazing architecture which worth to visit even the fee is £14, online cheaper but worth every penny. Anglican Cathedral whose present building dates back to 1089 AD. It was originally built in a monumental Roman style, some parts redesigned in the Gothic style.
Plenty to see here such as the Lady Chapel and the Octagon Tower in the centre of the church. Impressive marble monuments and painted windows. You can take a tour of the massive West Tower too.
Ely Cathedral is one of the most detailed art and architectural churches in England.

I love cathedrals and Ely cathedral is no exception (but it is an exceptional building!) - there's something awe inspiring and moving about old religious buildings like Ely cathedral, it's impossible to not be impressed at the architecture. The staff are lovely and friendly and always on hand to answer any questions you may have. There's a nice little gift shop and sometimes there are exhibitions. There are also toilets if you get caught short. Well worth a visit because of how breathtakingly beautiful the place is. It's a tad pricey at £8 a visit when you can get in other cathedrals for free (Peterborough and Norwich for example), but still worth a visit at least once.

Great day for £10 and £5 for the stain glass museum. I used the free all-day parking. And had a nice lunch at the Almonry restaurant and tea room.

A beautiful cathedral, The Ship of the Fens.
I popped into the shop to get my Pilgrims Passport stamped.
I've been here on many occasions, school visits as a governor, remembrance day, the wonderful Toppings book launches, and with friends for coffee and scones at the café.
There are lovely grounds to explore as well.
Accessible facilities and access, good toilet facilities, a shop, and knowledgeable volunteers and guides on hand to answer your questions. You can pay to tour the Cathedral, the octagon is a spectacular sight, especially when the poppy petals are falling.
It hosts many events, festivals, and markets throughout the year. Parking is a way out of the city centre and a lot of it will be uphill to the Cathedral. It's 15 minutes or more from the train station and uphill all the way there.

Not only is the cathedral immense but it is impressive on so many fronts. Take the tour up the huge West Tower, the guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about his subject. Yes it’s 250+ steps but as you climb you learn much of the history and the views on this April day were huge.
I had the great fortune to visit the day before the opening of exhibition by sculptor Sean Henry - “Am I My Brother’s Keeper” The artist’s figures so cleverly placed on vacant plinths and spaces. This together with meeting the Sculptor made the visit really special. Thanks.

Fabulous place. If you have less than an hour in Ely within Cathedral opening hours as we did, recommend attending a service as then entry is free. Otherwise it is £14 and to make the most of that would recommend having an hour or so to see the place properly. A tour of the wooden octagon (?) on roof exists and looks fascinating. Ely itself is delightful. The Lamb hotel is right alongside the Cathedral.

An absolutely stunning cathedral both inside and out!! It’s definitely worth a visit inside and if their available book to climb the towers!!!! Both tower tours fantastic! The whole cathedral is beautiful and full of history.
The staff have always been very friendly and informative when I’ve been and I’ve visited the cafe on a few occasions and have no complaints. There is a small gift shop too which is nice.

Ely cathedral is a beautiful building set in stunning surroundings and well worth visiting. I have shared a video of the cathedral on my YouTube channel: urbantiger6540, take a look.
The cathedral costs £14, the stained glass museum costs £6 and the tower costs £11. I think it was a little expensive considering other cathedrals throughout the country are free entry and donations, but this was still a very impressive building. There are a few free car parks around Ely.

Ely Cathedral, located in the picturesque city of Ely, UK, is an architectural marvel and a testament to centuries of craftsmanship. This stunning cathedral, with its intricate Gothic design, soaring arches, and captivating stained glass windows, is a true masterpiece. The breathtaking beauty of its interior and the serene ambiance within its hallowed walls make it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts and architecture aficionados. Impressive cathedral worth visiting. Whilst £14 may sound expensive, this astonishing building and the included audio guide are definitely worth it.
Also fully recommend paying the extra £11 to visit the Octagon tower: the views are worth it and the guide was superb, very knowledgeable.

Words can't describe how amazing my experience with North London skydiving was yesterday.
My instructor, Kev Dynan, was amazing and kept me calm from start to finish. He made the whole experience one to remember. And also a shout out to our camera man, Alex Turner, was captioning the BEST photos.
And a BIG thank you to the rest of the skydiving team for such a great experience. I would highly recommend using North London skydiving centre and would definitely love to do another jump in the future.

Wow, what an incredible experience! Everything was amazing from start to finish, the staff and instructors are so friendly and helpful! The skydive itself was such an unforgettable experience, words can't describe it!
A big thank you to Gary Small, the instructor I was paired with. He is such a lovely man and was so kind and calming. He explained everything that was going on, from the moment we met before we even got on the plane to the time we landed. He made me feel so at ease and in such safe hands.
I highly recommend to anyone that is thinking about going here and doing a skydive, a big thank you from myself and my dad!

If for any second you have ever thought about doing this, book it today!! You won't regret it. The instructors are brilliant, especially Gary ( the legend!) They give you easy instructions to follow so all you have to do is relax, take in the view's and enjoy. The adrenaline rush as you leave the plane is something else, the free fall is exhilarating, and then once parachute deployed its so peaceful and quiet while you float back down to the ground. A absolutely fantastic day which i will never forget!

Location: got loads of amenities and a pretty well equipped canteen, a place for people to watch and plenty of parking. Make sure your car isn’t too low to the ground though cos there’s a fun dirt track to go through on the way there!
Staff: so friendly, helpful and most importantly calm. The group I went in was a mix of excited and very nervous jumpers - each one of us were handled effortlessly with experienced jumpers! Also had a right laugh with them and even a quick little cuddle with their beautiful lil doggo Cotton! Would bring my dog the next time also!
The experience: it’s a ten out of ten in itself! Training was quick, everyone was ready to make themselves available for our needs and my cameraman took directions quickly for all the shots I wanted! I felt confident whilst jumping and got to take control of the sky dive for a bit - literally felt like flying!
Would I do it again? Hell yes!
The only thing I will feedback on is to have their back up generator checked on a monthly basis as we had to wait a while due to the fuel pump getting the electric cut off - but this just gave us more time to pose for pics in our jump suits!
Got a certificate at the end which is just teasing me to go again!! 100% recommend!

I would 100% recommend North London Skydiving!
The training before the jump is spot on. It is brief enough to keep you entertained and long enough to cover over all the safety requirements and expectations to keep you safe.
My instructor, Gary Small, was brilliant. He helped keep me relaxed from the moment I put the jumpsuit on right until we landed on the ground with his friendly conversation and reassurance throughout.
My camera person, Alex Turner, was also fantastic. He joined in on the conversation and kept me calm. The photographs and video footage are well worth the money and I would highly recommend getting the full package, especially if it is your first time jumping.
The canteen has plenty of drinks and snacks to keep you topped up throughout the day.

This was my 2nd skydiving experience but my first with North London Skydiving and they didn’t disappoint!!! I did a 15,000 ft skydive yesterday with my instructor Gary Small and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Gary was funny, supportive, helpful and very kind. I felt relaxed and I was very happy to have had this experience with Gary as there’s nothing better then having a brilliant instructor to jump with who enhances your experience. My cameraman was David and he was very kind and friendly. The whole team were friendly and they kept you updated with what was going to be happening throughout the day. I had the best day!

Just wow 😯. What an experience I had yesterday. The process from registering in to jumping out of the plane ✈️ was just so simple and easy. All the staff on site were really friendly and helpful. Always kept updated on what was happening and when they needed you, the announcements were clear. Glenn my instructor for jump was absolutely amazing. Wow, what a great experience! It was my first time but definitely not the last. I had an experienced (over 20 years) instructor - Gary Small- and he was brilliant. The team at North London Skydiving Centre went above and beyond with their support. Despite being unable to jump because I slightly exceeded the weight limit, they were incredibly proactive in helping me shed a few pounds. Although I managed to lose some weight, I still fell short of the cutoff. Their understanding and encouragement during the rescheduling process made it easier for me to come to terms with it, allowing me to cheer on my fiancé during her jump without any hint of envy. Despite not being able to take the leap myself, I still found ways to relish the experience and get ready for my rescheduled jump.

From the moment we got there to landing with Chris strapped to my back was an easy, relaxed and exciting experience.
Had a video session first, then a safety brief, which was very easy to understand and 3 simple rules, legs under plane, head back, and hold straps until tapped, other than that, you do nothing but jump out of a plane at 10,000 feet.
I will 100% go back and get my partner to jump with me, but next time go to 15,000 ft,
Chris was with me and was super calm and a joy to be with, while coming down to earth, we had a nice talk while my adrenaline was going around my body, which probably made me not ever coherent but it was so quiet once the canopy opened.
Before we jumped there was a delay due to low cloud, but this was due to safety, then we jumped at the perfect time! Which overall made me feel safe and in good hands from the pilot (who makes the plane look like a go kart with its manoeuvrability) to the receptionist and the jumpers them self.

Today I had the most amazing experience with the team at North London Skydiving centre. This is the second time I went (first time it was too windy once we got up there) and it did not disappoint.
My first experience, although I didn't jump was still enjoyable. The guys at the centre are so friendly and welcoming.
My second experience was equally as warm. My instructor was Glen & camera man, Matt. Both awesome guys that made me feel confident and comfortable with my skydive. They are all extremely professional with a lovely warmth about them.
Glen was brilliant at keeping me informed and made sure to check in with me. Matt, a super cool camera man was comforting and captured the amazing moments that followed. Thank you to all the staff at North London Skydiving centre. I would highly recommend these wonderful people.

Just went for my first ever Skydive two days ago at North London Skydiving Centre and I can't describe in words how amazing it was, I have never experienced anything like that in my life.
Everyone who works there was fantastic, the training was very informative and quick, was just great all round.
They have amazing offers on Videos/Pictures etc that I definitely was happy with the option of both.
My instructor Gary was superb, very helpful, supportive and he massively helped me calm down as I was very nervous to jump, I am very grateful to have had him as my instructor.
Also wanted to thank the cameramen on my jump, his name is Matthew, he took an amazing video and pictures... they are a great memory to have.
I highly recommend this Skydiving Centre to everyone, they want you to enjoy your skydive whilst also being safe... definitely go and experience Skydiving here as you won't regret it.
I'll definitely be coming back for more skydives as I have never felt a more wonderful feeling.
Thank you North London Skydiving.

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The whole experience was amazing from start to finish. The views were beautiful. The whole team were amazing throughout and my instructor Gary talked me through it all, made sure I was happy throughout and was reassuring - he went above and beyond to make it an unforgettable experience. Would love to do it all again!
There’s also plenty of photo and video option’s available to document it all.

Both my son and I have jumped with North London Skydiving. I was so impressed with the staff and my son's experience, that I booked myself in. I have always been afraid of flying and heights, but my instructor was amazing from the start and made me feel at ease throughout the whole process. I bought the video and pictures package and was not disappointed with the footage - they were well worth the money, especially as it was my first jump. I stayed close to the airfield, the night before, and got there early to queue, which meant there was not a lot of waiting around. I would be happy to jump with them again and would recommend the experience to anyone looking for a thrill.

National Trust Belton House is a grand country house built in the 1860s and filled with opulent decor, fine furnishings and gardens. It has one of the biggest adventure play parks that have ever seen.
Absolutely beautiful place, perfect day out. I visited with a 7y old and 4y old. We visited the cafe, bookstore, orangery and adventure playground. We ended up spending a long time in the playground, it was brilliant and the train was a lovely addition! There are so many beautiful spots to sit and have a picnic or watch the deer. We will definitely be back hopefully many more times to explore some more and actually visit the mansion as we ran out of time.

Had a lovely autumnal day out with my sister and her family. The adventure playground area in the woods looked like a lot of fun for the children. My niece was most excited for the little train ride. We spent a good amount of time in that area then we moved on to the house tour.
The house was well-preserved and really interesting to explore. The decor and furnishings were amazing to look at. I loved all the details on the ceilings and walls. Also there was a lot of original art pieces. Anybody with an interest in history would love it in there.
We visited the gardens and the orangery which were also lovely.
We lastly went to the indoor play area which my niece had lots of fun playing in. Us adults relaxed and enjoyed a coffee in the cafe area whilst she played. (They do give you a one hour time limit but it’s more than enough time).
Notice for people with prams: most of the place is pram/ wheelchair friendly but the house is not. We had to leave the pushchair outside but my nephew can walk so it was fine. Also in the garden areas you do have to go round to go to the ramps as there are a few steps to get down/ up. It’s also not possible to go into the orangery with a pram.

Large country house, home to the Brownlow family over the centuries. Guided wander through the house with a house guide brochure, which you can either put back or purchase if you so wish. Knowledgeable guides in every room will fill you in on the history and quirky facts about the family and the various rooms. Nice Italian garden and orangery plus a large parkland you can explore. There's a nice church but it was out of bounds on the day we were there. Nice cafe with outside seating and old stables converted into seating area.

We took in the garden tour when we first arrived, very interesting - more to do with architecture and history of the garden than the horticulture itself.
The house was stunning and the guides very informative pointing out various items we may have missed. I loved the Chinese bedroom in particular.
Denise Faulkner — Google review
Overpriced but a nonetheless typically well-oiled NT experience. Far and away the best thing for families is the adventure playground and train in the woods. The house is a bit of a sideshow.
£45 for a family of 2 adults and 2 small children isn’t terrible but nonetheless feels steep for what you get. You have to pay extra for the little train, which the kids of course absolutely loved (and there was no way that a ride was not going to happen!)
The ice cream shop is also more or less obligatory with kids. It was a bit confusing and slow given how many staff there were. Prices were not clearly labelled.
The house itself was ok but seemed a lot smaller on the inside than it looked on the outside. The various Old Master paintings lurking high up in sometimes small, dark rooms were surprising when spotted, and not particularly well presented or explained. There were a few imaginative attempts to make things more fun for children, however. So at least some thought had gone into the house as an experience rather than a showcase.
All in all probably worth visiting if you’re in the area with a family and the weather is good. The adventure playground (and train) is a must if you have kids. The house less so. Cheaper than some places but pricey enough in financially terrible times that you might wonder why you don’t just go the seaside or go for a walk in the countryside for free.

The collections in the house are very interesting, the gardens as well, but in my opinion the best feature of the site is the second hand bookshop.

Had a lovely family day out here in October, it’s a huge estate with plenty of parking and only a few minutes walk to the main entrance.
There’s plenty for the kids to do. There’s a huge adventure playground with a ride on train (small fee), a soft play and various spots with activities to do. There’s a few cafe/restaurants on site as well as an cream parlour.
The grounds are beautiful too and the kiddies and adults all enjoyed strolling around them.
It’s dog friendly too.
Would definitely recommend a day out here, we booked in advance but didn’t really need to but i imagine it gets booked up in the warmer months.

Yet again the National Trust excels itself, with Belton House being an exceptional example of Restoration architecture. It is surrounded by formal gardens, land including a lake and deer park.
To keep you refreshed there are a number of food outlets (one focusing on ice cream).
Car parking on site can be challenging in the winter months when it gets a tad muddy. But I believe this is being improved.
I've also spotted a large child's play area to keep the youngsters entertained.
Plenty of space to find some peace and quiet and enjoy a nice walk.

A great location to visit for any group of people from young couples to old families.
The grounds are beautiful, with fields, wooded areas, play parks for kids, and historic buildings to explore.
The grounds often host events throughout the year, many of which (such as the Christmas lights display) are well worth attending.
If you live nearby, it makes a National Trust membership a worthwhile investment.

Gone every year now for 3 years. Such good displays. Set to music. Drinks available half way round (Hot choc to mulled wine) and Santa to talk too, easy walking or mobility scooter. Car park good. Even with all the rain over the month in excess of average, it is still in good condition but a little muddy. Dress accordingly when you go.

The Cathedral of Saint Peter, Saint Paul and Saint Andrew in Peterborough is a beautiful Norman structure that is still standing. The building originated from the mid-7th century as a monastery, but much of its present-day architecture dates from the 12th century. The cathedral's jaw-dropping western facade is characterized by three massive arches that are unique to the Gothic period.
A beautiful cathedral which encourages people to enjoy the space. Great that contributions rather than an entrance fee are given, allowing everyone to be able to enjoy it. Good information all around.
Staff/volunteers are welcoming and helpful.

I recently visited the Peterborough Cathedral last Wednesday and am delighted to give it a five-star rating. This magnificent church, accessible to the public, left me in awe. Its origins as a monastic community dating back to 654 AD, its status as one of the most famous medieval abbeys in the country, its role as the final resting place for two queens, and its connection to the Civil War make it a truly great site. The Cathedral welcomes visitors from Monday to Saturday, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, and Sundays from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm.
What struck me the most was the abundance of natural light inside the church, creating a vibrant and uplifting atmosphere. It's a photographer's dream, as the lighting is simply marvellous. During quieter moments, one can truly appreciate the cathedral's rich history. Although I regret not being able to explore the upstairs tour due to my busy schedule, I hope to have the opportunity to do so in the future. Entry is by donation, and it's wheelchair accessible in the main church area.

Steeped in centuries of history and architectural grandeur, Peterborough Cathedral stands as a timeless beacon of tranquility and serenity amidst the bustling cityscape. From its majestic facade to the hushed interiors, every corner of this sacred edifice exudes an aura of peace and calm, inviting visitors to pause, reflect, and immerse themselves in its timeless beauty.
As one approaches the cathedral, its imposing silhouette commands attention, towering over the surrounding landscape with an air of quiet dignity. Yet, upon stepping inside, one is enveloped in a sense of profound stillness, where the cares of the world seem to fade away in the presence of such sacred majesty.
The cathedral's interior is a study in sublime simplicity, with soaring arches and delicate stonework that speak to the skill and craftsmanship of generations past. Bathed in the soft glow of filtered sunlight, the nave beckons with its spaciousness, offering a sanctuary for quiet contemplation and introspection.
Throughout the cathedral, the atmosphere remains hushed and reverent, punctuated only by the occasional whisper of footsteps or the distant echo of a choir's song. Here, amidst the ancient walls and weathered stone, visitors find solace in the stillness, finding respite from the noise and chaos of the outside world.
For those seeking a moment of quiet reflection, the cathedral's cloisters provide a peaceful retreat, where one can wander in solitude amidst the tranquil beauty of the surrounding gardens. Here, amidst the fragrant blooms and gently swaying trees, the mind finds rest and the spirit finds renewal.
In conclusion, Peterborough Cathedral stands as a timeless testament to the power of quietude and contemplation. Within its hallowed halls, amidst the whispers of centuries past, visitors find a sanctuary of peace and calm, inviting them to pause, reflect, and find solace in the beauty of the divine.

Very pretty cathedral! Lovely walk around and I hope to visit again. Its full of history including the place of burial of Katherine of Aragon, Henry 8th first wife and the place Mary Queen of Scots was buried before she was moved in 1612.

A lovely peaceful place to look around. There are some fine stained glass windows and interesting facts about the burial of Katherine of Aragon and Mary Queen of Scots - who knew the were interred there for a time?

I did the architectural tour of the cathedral. If this interests you then I highly recommend it. Fantastic guides that had me hanging on their every word. The morning tour took in the ground floor and outside areas, followed by lunch in Becketts tearooms. Then the afternoon spent in the upper levels and roof. I absolutely loved seeing the bones of the building.

Absolutely breath taking place of history and beauty! Always love coming here to visit, its like walking into the history of the past, travel back in time!
Lots to look at, cemetery at rear end, I don't need to honestly say much as the building speaks for itself, absolutely stunning. Always captivating!
EDIT - if you're a fan of the deep blue sea history then come to the cathedral in July 2024, they are hosting a event in relation to the sea 🌊 🦈 looks like its going to be a fantastic one so dont miss out!

My son was a chorister here for 6 years. When people hear of Peterborough they don’t think of a cathedral.
This is a simply stunning building. It’s one of the Fens crown Jewell’s. It’s an a amazing building but it’s a place of worship. I would recommend, whatever your faith or conviction, to attend choral evensong. That’s a real experience in an incredible building

Coming from Australia on a motorbike tour of UK. I had heard from locals in London that Peterborough was worth visiting.. They were correct. It has been a lovely experience. Your cathedral is breathtaking. The doorman - Philip was such a wealth of knowledge. This history he talked about of this amazing cathedral was very memorable.. It made our experience and such a real pleasure and we will pass on it’s a place to visit to your town. Thank you

Very nice cathedral and surrounding buildings. Pity it closes so early, 5pm.
You need to park your car far away. This gives you a plus too. The old part of Peterborough has some nice photogenic buildings. So take your time wandering around.
I didn't go inside and the walk and shooting photos took me 2 hours.

Magnificent Cathedral in the centre of Peterborough. A truly impressive Cathedral with significant history, with; The Hedda Stone, Katherine of Aragon's tomb, Mary Queen of Scots original burial place and a memorial to Edith Cavell.
Originally an Abbey it was saved by the Abbot from ruin by Henry VIII.
It is free to enter but a donation is welcome and well deserved.

Gorgeous cathedral, the celling looks stunning with all the paintings and sculptures well preserved. You can visit the ground floor yourself when it is open, and the tour is organised (on Wednesdays) to the Tower with the ability to climb upstairs to see the upper floors.
Absolutely stunning place and a must-see if you are visiting Peterborough.

This is an absolute must if you visit Peterborough, no excuses. We went on the upper floor and roof tour, frightening and exciting all in one, unreal views of the inside and outside areas, great tour guides filled with expert knowledge. We then went on the ground floor tour, again a wonderful tour guide with expert knowledge. Not expensive either for such a magnificent time.

Wonderful church, amazing historic building.
Over the centuries the building has been affected by various people (local, national) dignitaries. Local, national governments and of cause the monarchy. National, international events ( civil, world wars).

Peterborough Cathedral is a mesmerizing example of Romanesque and Gothic architecture, with its imposing facade and intricate interior. The striking West Front features an array of medieval sculptures, while the vast nave and colorful stained glass windows provide a sense of awe-inspiring grandeur. The beautifully preserved medieval wooden ceiling is a sight to behold, and the intricate fan vaulting in the eastern transept is a testament to the cathedral's impressive craftsmanship. History enthusiasts will appreciate the connection to Katharine of Aragon, whose tomb lies within the cathedral. Whether you're drawn to its architectural splendor, spiritual significance, or rich historical heritage, a visit to Peterborough Cathedral is a captivating experience that leaves a lasting impression.

A real gem for Peterborough. So much amazing history in this Cathedral, including the burial of two Queens (one now moved to London). It’s amazing to be able to visit the resting place of Katherine of Aragon, one of Henry the VIII’s wives, a huge part of English history.
Make sure you take a walk around the outside too, there are remains of the original abbey still to be seen.

A remarkable cathedral which is free to enter and features stunning historical architecture.
It has beautiful stained glass windows and the entire cathedral is warm inside thanks to the large radiators located throughout the building that heat it up.
I recommend anybody who is interested in this cathedral to visit it.

Ferry Meadows, located in Nene Park in Peterborough, is a great spot for a family day out. With stunning lake views, meadows and woodlands to explore, there's plenty of things to do here. There are also two cafes on site, making it the perfect spot to relax after a busy day. Horse rides, fishing opportunities and more are available nearby too.
Regularly go there for walks.
There are Coffee shops and a farm shop.
Plenty of seating if you need to stop on your walk around .
An total blessing to have in our city.
For children there are 3 separate play areas .
Everything within the park us all in keeping with its surroundings.
A total gem of a place

Nice location but expensive if you buy food here. Plenty of space to bring a picnic which we will do next time. Lots of BBQ stations so bring your own charcoal and enjoy
Bit of a sewer smell wafting around periodically which made it feel a bit dirty. Car park pay on exit works well and should be a similar system everywhere.
Will probably return again next summer

Excellent location near Nene Park. Big site but immaculate. Ideal for "country" walks around Nene Park and Lake, took us about an hour to walk all the way around the lake
We also cycled alongside the railway line on cycle paths towards Peterborough and then back along the side of the rowing and canoe course, past the golf course and through the wooded section of Nene Park -easy flat route.
On an afternoon we walked to the cuckoo pub along a wooded path and through the industrial estate - about 30/40 min walk. Dog friendly pub and served good beers.
Large CAMC site with plenty to do. Would visit again.

We have been coming here for years. My eldest is 18 this year and i have been bringing him since he was a few months old. I have since had 2 other boys who absolutely love coming here they are 8 &11. How you have revamped each area over the last few years is stunning. We very often meet friends and family here in the holidays as there is plenty to do for everyone and the kids have so much fun and have so much space to run around in. The newest part nearest the lake i have to say is my sons favourite and mine at the moment. Well done to everyone involved in looking after the park 💙❤️

It was a wonderful experience, with clear and sunny sky. It was a picnic weather and we did not miss the chance. This park has barbecue stand, where you can bring your own food and charcoal to enjoy and it is absolutely free and first come basis. Toilets are there but not very clean but it is same as other public place. Car park is huge but cost is on higher side. There is a huge water body, where you can enjoy water rides and also restaurants are available. There is a small train 🚂 you can ride on too with your child and children playing area is also available

The park in Peterborough is truly marvelous and breathtaking. The expansive lake adds to its stunning beauty, making it one of the largest parks in the area. What's even better is that the entrance is free, and the park offers a lengthy and picturesque space for walking and hiking. Conveniently, there's parking available on-site, along with restroom facilities. The presence of a cafe adds to the overall convenience, and I was delighted to discover private boat rides available on the lake. The enchanting nature of the park captivated me, creating a truly mesmerizing and unforgettable atmosphere.

This is one of the most beautiful places to spend a day out in nature.
There is a special area designed for barbecue, playground for kids with sand, water and green grass. There is also a little train that you can ride from one side to another of the park.
Another good thing is that you can visit and stay with your own motor home- caravan or tent.
I do recommend to hire one of the equipments like boat, swan or kaiac and saile around the lake.
Kids were very happy all day!

Maybe visiting after heavy rain wasn't the best idea as most of the footpaths around the lakes were flooded, as was the large play area but still some nice walks to be had. Well stocked visitor centre with some local gifts. Parking is relatively cheap as well. Very busy in the park though! I get the impression Peterborough doesn't have many other public spaces like this so everyone goes here!?

Came here after searching for somewhere to walk whilst on holiday with family and our dog. There are lots of lovely, accessible walks around the park and seems to be lots of activities that take place there throughout the year. There's also a lovely cafe and shop (both of which welcome dogs) to take a break in when you're done exploring!

3 pleasant lakes with walks. Bird hide... play grounds. Cafe and shop. Waterworks centre and another cafe on third lake. The local council let it run down during and after covid and seem to be making a big effort to bring things back up to standard. Nothing is cheap there as a result!

Went to winter festival was a tad disappointed only 2 small fairground attractions when advertised as being a Victorian fair ? The light trail was nice especially for little ones for bigger people could have been a bit more extravagant although thumbs up for the lovely sustainable willow animals throughout. Some of them very big..at the end of the trail there was a fairy enactment by 6 actor/ singers. Very sweet for the children. At this end there is a firepit where you can toast marshmallows bur at £4 for 1 on a stick was ridiculous, my advice is take you own if you want toasted mallows. Overall a nice chrismassy feel about it..enjoy the baikeys hot chocolate 🍫

Whilst visiting the area on business we wanted to get a few hours walk in and someone told us to visit here. So glad we did, and it was a beautifull afternoon to visit such a lovely place , beautifully maintained, loads of wild birds and so much open space for children to play. Managed to catch the cafe for a hot chocolate before it closed, very pleasant walk, would love a place like this near me.
Caroline Corbett — Google review
We're very lucky to have this on our doorstep, it's a lovely place to walk whatever the season. The only negative is when people choose to ignore the park rules and allow their dogs to be off their leads (we visited at the time when the park was trialling a scheme where dogs had to be on leads at all times but sadly a few people seemed to think that they were exempt from this!). As much as we love dogs, it can be extremely intimidating when a strange dog runs up to you and starts snarling and growling and doesn't pay any heed to its owner's calls. Furthermore, if a dog can be that disobedient, then what's to stop it from harming wildlife??
Also another note of warning, there are quite a few cyclists who use the park, so keep an eye (or ear!) out for them to avoid any potential accidents.
Aside from that, it's a great place for a walk, enjoying the beautiful natural landscape, with the chance to spot wildlife and if you fancy a hot drink or something to eat, there are a couple of onsite cafes/restaurant that offer a variety of sandwiches and cakes. There are a couple of play parks too, if you have young kids who need to expend a bit of energy!
We also got to see the new Willow Bridge that has replaced the old pontoon bridge and it looks amazing!
There are onsite toilets and a gift shop and a car park too (car parking charges apply).

King's College Chapel is an iconic building in Cambridge, England. The chapel is famous for its fan-vaulted ceiling and choir. Some people find the church quaint while others find it overrated. The smell of manure from nearby cows detracts from the experience for many tourists visiting Cambridge.
It was an amazing day to explore more Cambridge city. So decided to go to Kings College Chapel.
Just an amazing architecture n mind blowing stain glass windows work. Spectacular ceiling work with wonderful details. I even can’t explain how I was feeling to b there. Just beautiful place to visit if ur visiting Cambridge. Worth to give it a go. Spent very short but quality time there.

King's College Chapel, nestled in the heart of Cambridge, is a breathtaking architectural masterpiece that enchants travelers with its timeless beauty and historical significance. Its soaring Gothic spires and intricate stained glass windows evoke a sense of awe and wonder, offering visitors a glimpse into centuries of religious and academic tradition. The chapel's central location within the picturesque King's College campus makes it easily accessible for tourists exploring the charming city of Cambridge. Inside, visitors are treated to sublime acoustics during the chapel's renowned choral performances, adding a magical dimension to the experience. However, the chapel's popularity as a tourist attraction can lead to long queues, especially during peak seasons, which may require patience from travelers eager to explore its interior. Additionally, while entry to regular services is free, there may be admission fees for special events or concerts, which could be a consideration for budget-conscious travelers. Despite these potential drawbacks, King's College Chapel remains a must-visit destination for those seeking to immerse themselves in the rich history and architectural splendor of Cambridge.

As seen on the Christmas day service but with the live wow factor. We were treated to some organ music and a gentleman playing the harp which added to the atmosphere. The history of the chapel is fascinating and the staff were very helpful and approachable. One place I would love to go again, just to hear the choir.

One of the oldest colleges in Cambridge with a huge history!
You can enter with a ticket to visit the place where it is wonderful. There you can read about its history and admire its magnificent architecture!
You must first go if you want to see all the places to be informed if you allow entry all seasons and all hours in advance. There is a period when due to exams or other events you are not allowed to enter everywhere.

Went there last week and it was very beautiful inside, particularly the fan vaulted ceiling, the choir benches and the golden organ. The side rooms were full of history about the red and white roses (Tudor dynasty, the 3 kings who built the chapel: Henry VI, Henry VII, Henry VIII), as well as the construction techniques and architecture. I lived in Cambridge since 2012 and honestly this is the second best tourist destination in Cambridge. (the first is punting)

I always say Yes to historical old buildings. It is so amazing how are built these old College Chapels etc. These old buildings are so luxurious, with lot of secrets. Maybe I don't see the reason why I need pay money to visit God house. But still was very exciting place.
Laura Minde — Google review
Undoubtedly the most iconic building in Cambridge and one of Europe's finest late Perpendicular Gothic English buildings. Indeed, the Chapel features the world's largest fan vault.
The foundation stone of King’s College Chapel was laid on 25th July 1446 by King Henry VI, but was not fully complete, including some of the finest stained glass windows in the world, until 1547 under King Henry VIII.
Most days the chapel opens for sightseeing at 9:30am, with final entry 3:15pm; though make sure to check in advance because this can vary. A self guided tour is £11 (or £8.50 for students or children). Well worth it for a place that literally oozes history.
If you found my review interesting please leave a quick thumbs up 👍 Thank you!

It’s astonishing especially the inside. All the details on the vaulted ceiling and the coloured glasses is breathtaking. Absolutely breathtaking. Feels like a refreshing experience every time I walk into it. As well as the spectacular fan vault ceiling, and beautiful stained glass, some other nice things about it are definitely the organ, candlelit events/services, and, if you’re lucky, it’s heated flooring. Amazing masonry. Unbelievable that most of it has survived now than 500 years, that's what the patronage of Henry VIII meant I suppose. A couple of really interesting explanation areas, I would have perused a lot more thoroughly if alone.

Got very lucky today to have a chance to see this spectacular Chapel. King’s College Chapel is prime example of late Perpendicular Gothic English architecture. It’s the second biggest Chapel in the world and features the world's largest fan vault. Beautiful and stunning stained glass windows around whole Chapel 12 windows on each side.
Window 1 - The Lamb of God and the Wedding at Cana,
Window 2 - Christ and Jairus’ daughter and calling the fishermen,
Window 3 - The transfiguration and Christ with the disciples,
Window 4 - Lazarus and preparation for the Passover,
Window 5 - The last supper and its Old Testament antecedent, manna in the desert,
Window 6 - The Light of the World,
Window 7 - The Bread of Life,
Window 8 - The Lamb of God,
Window 9 - Christ of Revelation,
Window 10 - The Good Shepherd,
Window 11 - Jesus appears to his disciples,
Window 12 - The Ascension of Christ and Elijah etc.
Peaceful and magnificent chapel where you can come to enjoy the beauty of the place itself and have time to think about life and merge with the wonderful atmosphere. If you get luck you can attend the chapel when they have their own choir singing.

Additionally, the surrounding garden area is beautifully maintained, providing a serene setting for a short stroll. The price is a bit high.
This museum is home to a vast collection of artifacts from different cultures, including art from Ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. It's one of the most popular museums in Cambridge, and its galleries are filled with famous paintings by such artists as Hogarth, Gainsborough, and Turner. The River Cam flows through Cambridge into the Great Ouse and is a popular spot for punting and small boat rides. The river has been the subject of many poems and stories, most notably by Lord Byron.
As soon as my boat start journey I feel I’m in a magical land for the time of my River Cam tour on the punt. Can’t explain the atmosphere in words. A must experience thing in the whole of Cambridge.
The weather was cold but bright day and got some pics. I would recommend not focusing on taking pictures much coz you’ll loose the feel of the punting trip. This river is a source of great nature beauty, swans, bridges as well as colleges universities n many historical buildings. There must b lovely walks especially in summer or spring when the weather is on peak n gives u all to make an amazing atmosphere.

If you’re in Cambridge, make sure to go “punting” on the River Cam. Rent a boat for £30, spend a few hours paddling down the river. You’ll cross the Bridge of Sighs, the Mathematical Bridge, and many others. Many guided tours available. The red boats offer alcohol for sale. Excellent leisure activity in the afternoon with family or friends.

I was in a magical land for that one hour in River Cam on the punt. Can’t explain the ambience in words. A must must visit in the whole of UK.
We went in late November, but the weather was kind and got some amazing pictures. I would recommend not focusing on taking pictures much coz you’ll loose the feel of the punting trip.

River cam is one of the most peaceful rivers I have ever come across. The river is a popular attraction in Cambridge as visitors can have the opportunity to experience punting.
The surrounding of the river is very relaxing and tranquil. This place is a must-visit for visitors who are planning a trip to Cambridge!

Beautiful river flowing through the centre of Cambridge. Lovely to see people enjoying the river and all the boats

The total experience of punting down the River Cam in the educational city of Cambridge was so awesome. It was exciting and calming at the same time, passing under various bridges and flanked by historic buildings like St. John's College and Queen's College among others. The views are picturesque and breathtakingly beautiful.

National Trust - Houghton Mill & Waterclose Meadows
Houghton Mill & Waterclose Meadows is a beautiful tourist attraction owned by the National Trust. The mill, mostly constructed from wood, sits in picturesque surroundings with an artificially filled mill pond. Visitors can enjoy watching the mill in operation and learning about its fascinating history with tours guided by knowledgeable staff and volunteers. The site has been home to a mill since 974 AD, and its owners have changed over time.
A stunning Mill set in beautiful surroundings. Plenty to see and I would definitely suggest going on a day when the mill is running to really get a full flavour of its use and history. Also worth checking out the attached campsite as the location is perfect.

A welcoming friendly place with nice tearooms and a fascinating mill. Bought freshly milled flour while we were there. It is also a base from which to do a pleasant 5 mile walk to St Ives and back. On a sunny Sunday afternoon we felt we had been transported to another world.

Morning fog, sunny afternoon. Thanks for the informative tour by the kind volunteers, Ms Faith and his friends. Also a good place to encounter cormorant.
River Zhu — Google review
We were lucky enough to book a tour of Houghton Mill. Our volunteer guide, Linda, spent an hour taking our small group around the inside of the mill, detailing its thousand-year history.
Whilst on the tour, we were able to visit three of the four floors of the mill, the top floor is currently closed to the public for safety measures and look at some of the original 18th century machinery, learning about how wheat was transported across the building, ground, bagged, and even how a previous owner created a form of air-conditioning.
Please be aware that the waterwheel is not always running, however this does not detract from this beautiful building and its long and interesting history.
There is a carpark on site as well as a gift shop/cafe, with benches along the river to sit outside.
Jodie Santer — Google review
Didn't go into the Mill but had a walk around the grounds and stopped off in the little coffee shop. The Mill gives some nice photo opportunities from all sides, and the walk along the Ouse is very pleasant and not too strenuous. Usual NT prices, £7 for the Mill and expensive in the coffee shop.

A very interesting tour of the mill by our guide Janine. Full of history and owners since the first mill on the site in 974 AD.
The staff and volunteers do a great job keeping this historic building running.

Very interesting watermill, well worth a visit; check the opening times first, some days have a guide, some dont and they only mill on Sundays. Lovely friendly staff and guides, very informative. Mill is really interesting inside, with most original equipment and plenty of information boards. At busy times best to book tickets in advance, although we were lucky and they had free spaces

Make sure to book ahead of time.
Nicely situated mill with a wide range of activities. Two local villages to explore, paths and trails; waterways and more. You can easily spend a day here. However if you want to see the mill then prebook the tour to make sure you get inside. It’s a lovely location and perfect for an afternoon out.

A lovely location for a walk, coffee, chat or water based activity if that’s your thing!
Highly recommend a visit, it’s a stunning location for a 4k walk or shorter if desired!
Car park is not large and maximum parking duration is 3 hours for £3!
There’s a little cafe onsite that opens at 10am and some toilet facilities.
It does get busy later in the day, so if you can go early!
There is also a campsite connected to the mill if you like sleeping with the stars.
You can also walk around the mill.

What a lovely place in a great setting. The tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining (the tour lasted about an hour). There are some lovely walks nearby as well as a lovely pub. Perfect for an afternoon out.

Visited on the way to Huntingdon races, the mill was closed but you could still view the outside of the mill and the riverside park was excellent. I will visit again and there is also a small tearoom.
The village also has some fantastic medieval buildings too.

A lovely place to visit at any time of the year. It can get very busy and the car park isn’t huge so best to go early. Great little coffee shop for after having a walk. We didn’t go into the mill but looked good from outside. £3 parking.

Mill St, Houghton, Huntingdon PE28 2AZ, United Kingdom
IWM Duxford is the largest aviation museum in Europe, featuring 200 vintage aircrafts and a vast airfield showcasing military and civilian vehicles. The exhibits cover both World War I and II, with a particular focus on American civil and military aircraft outside of the USA. The museum provides an all-day experience for families, with informative displays in each area. Conservation efforts are visible throughout the museum, which offers reasonably priced cafes as well as outdoor picnic areas for visitors to enjoy.
Fantastic day out. First time using our membership. No queues. Took picnic and there were plenty of benches near children's play area. Cafe gave good service for hot drinks. Area very clean and well kept. Wonderful exhibitions. Highly recommended. Loved watching some planes landing and taking off.

Probably the best war museum in the UK! Have visited many times throughout my life, with friends and family, for displays events and just days out and it never disappoints. So a wide range of vehicles and aircraft for every enthusiast to enjoy. Stepped in history and So much to see and do, definitely worth the visit. I highly recommend the classic wings fights as it was an amazing experience to go up in a 1930s aircraft and see the stunning aerial views of the region. Will definitely be back in the future!
Samuel Harrison — Google review
I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to fly into Duxford, as it provided me with a unique experience. Upon landing, I walked straight off the runway and into the museum, which immediately immersed me in the atmosphere.
Accompanying me on this visit was a disabled passenger, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the museum offers complimentary onsite wheelchairs. This thoughtful provision made the entire experience more accessible and convenient for my companion.
We spent a significant amount of time exploring the various hangars, each filled with captivating exhibits and historical artifacts. The sheer magnitude of the collection was awe-inspiring, allowing us to delve deep into aviation history.
After our museum tour, we decided to take a break and enjoy a delightful homemade meal. We found a comfortable spot on one of the many benches or tables conveniently located outside, which offered a picturesque view of the active runway. As we dined, we had the privilege of witnessing numerous visiting aircraft and even witnessed some impressive aerobatic displays above the runway. However, the highlight of the day was undeniably the exhilarating sight of a Spitfire soaring past in a breathtakingly fast flyby.
Although our visit was thoroughly enjoyable, there was one minor inconvenience we encountered. The distance between the various hangars proved to be quite significant, especially considering our limited time and the presence of a disabled passenger. Unfortunately, the shuttle bus service that would have facilitated our movement between the starting and ending points was out of service during our visit. It would have been immensely helpful to have this service available.
Despite this small setback, our overall trip to Duxford left a lasting impression, and we are already making plans to return. I wholeheartedly recommend this museum to everyone, whether you're interested in exploring the exhibits or even considering the unique opportunity to fly into the airfield itself. The experience is truly remarkable and is sure to leave you with cherished memories and a deeper appreciation for aviation history.

It doesn't matter how many times you come here it still an interesting place. The plane collection is always worth a visit. You can fly on various planes if that takes your fancy for that special occasion. The American hangar is well worth a visit. The B52 Bomber is massive taking up half of the hanger. The Black Bird spy plane is also here.

I was lucky enough to be able to fly in a Spitfire as a 60th birthday present from my daughters. It was an incredible experience and brought me pure joy. The staff were fantastic and very friendly which just added to the whole day.

Absolutely stunning experience. You can see all types of war vehicles, from aircraft (my favourite was the SR-71, beautiful one), through mortars and artillery to tanks from WW1, WW2 and modern ones. Also, boarding Concorde and seeing it in real life was amazing. When you are walking from one building to another, you will have an opportunity to see beautiful airplanes perform breathtaking acrobatic stunts. Although the t-shirt I picked in the souvenir shop was already sold out, they have a nice collection of items that are worth buying. 10/10, not visiting it would be a massive mistake.
Andrej Polansky — Google review
Really enjoyed it. Not too crowded and lots to see. I was lucky on the day, as weather was great and there were a lot of planes flying around so we got to see some Hurricane aerobatics and some other WWII planes flying about. Would recommend.

Brilliant museum but be prepared for lots of walking. Wonderful displays and plenty to see. Obviously the theme is on war machines but there are some civil planes. It would be fantastic if the museum could have a dedicated section for this. Well worth a visit.

If you love planes, tanks or history this is an amazing day out, great displays with good write ups that interest all ages. The workshop hangers are incredible to watch a spitfire or hurricane being restored or given inspections. The workshops also smell amazing.
It's a lot of walking and lots to see, we got distracted by everything and went for lunch late, by which time the food choices were limited. Go, enjoy, read and by the end of the day you will be able to recognize which is a hurricane or spitfire, P51 or thunderbolt
Daniel Groves — Google review
Brilliant places to see such wonders of the skies! Took all the hours available to see all the hangers and still did not have enough time, so prepare well and your time. Staff excellent, and the volunteers went above and beyond to help. Definitely be back.

Warning, allow a full day for your visit! We visited especially to see the Spitfire display and were not disappointed, however each and every hanger and display holds marvels of air travel whether it be commercial airlines, first world war aircraft, spitfires or more modern machinery of warfare. It's an absorbing place with stacks of history which make it the ideal setting for an aircraft museum. Sometimes the information provided is a little scant but use Google to supplement the knowledge provided, a great way to spend a day, if you're lucky you might catch some vintage machinery airborne. Well worth the entry fee.

First of all, I would just like to start this review by saying wow. If you are planning a visit, please allocate at least a whole day here. There is so much to do and see you can easily make a day or two of it. I visited with a friend, and the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the very friendly staff who were happy to help us with any questions or queries. There truly is a bit of everything here, from WW2 era fighters like the spitfire and hurricane to current models like the typhoon. Maybe that's not your thing? No problem! There's a vast range of civilian aircraft, too, many of which are open to go inside. These range from a prototype Concorde to a full VC10. This is without mentioning the amazing American section where you can truly appreciate the size of a B52, get up close with an SR71, and many other aircraft! Maybe the aircraft in general is not your interest? Again, you are covered as there is a massive collection of land vehicles in their own dedicated building. Highly recommended for everyone to do.
Alex Murdie — Google review
This is the best museum ever to my humble opinion in combination with my interests, which are not a plane or a history nutter ones, but still liking the subject.
If you care at least a little bit about your children, do them and yourself a big favour and buy those tickets asap. I would recommend a bit of a research in advance to know what is there, why and what is interesting about it. There are wonderful signs and everything, but still.
My Number One ever, the reason I've visited there first time for and will always keep me going back, is SR-71. This is the best aeronautical achievement of humankind of all times (again - my humble opinion).
I try to go at least once a year (no kids), but will one day I will buy that membership and even the birds there will roll their eyes when they see me for 437 375 294 636th time 😂
Distance is the only reason I cannot afford to volunteer, otherwise I would put my TV in the bin and probably spend more time volunteering than at my actual workplace.
Are you still reading? Come on then, see you there!

Duxford is a truly wonderful place to visit with a huge range of aircraft that are both static and flying, and a fantastic land museum with a range of tanks and vehicles from multiple eras. There is so much to learn and you can spend a long day here so I'd highly recommend getting there early, say to start the day 10am to 10.30am, as this gives lots of time to look around in a relaxed and leisurely way. There's often planes flying around too so you can often see a mini air show on days that are not official airshows. Really amazing and very special place that played a crucial role during the Second World War. Highly recommended and a great place for kids and families to visit.
Danny Hewitt — Google review
very good time spent here and lots to see, helpful stuff to answer any questions even depending when you go they have some good shows and events on. but in general see few odd planes take flight.
unfortunately only down side is, where its so big its spread out to far and inbetween, it can be a struggle for elderly people to walk it all. rented mobility scooters would be ideal for the elderly just because purely on the size of the place just a suggestion.

Battle of Britain Day. What an amazing place Duxford is. It's a brilliant day out on any day of the week but today took this to another level.
We arrived early to take in the hangars and stands. The American Hangar is my favourite. The flying started at 1pm and there was a tremendous array of WW2 aircraft to enjoy.
The Red Arrows put on a great show towards the end but the icing on the cake was the Lancaster and Sally B flying together for the first time in decades. The cherry on top was the 16 Spitfires and Hurricanes that made up the big wing who performed two passes.
Having flown in a Spitfire, the next item on the aviation bucket list was to go inside a B17. As luck would have it and for 20 very happily spent pounds I was given a very thorough tour inside and out by a super enthusiastic crew member. It was quite a humbling experience to actually stand in the place that countless brave airmen risked their lives whilst under fire. A similar feeling to when I flew in the Spitfire, the B17 is a truly wonderful aircraft.
The only slight gripe was being forced to turn left out of the carpark added a rather large detour to our journey, not that it mattered. An awesome day and I will be back again... and again... and probably again!

My partner and I became members last year. Great value for money as you get access to lots of other museums such as the Churchill War Rooms, Imperial War Museum London etc. Always very friendly staff and pleasant experience. You can tell the other visitors appreciate history and engineering. The cafe caters for gluten free with jacket potatoes and chips. Could do with some gluten free cakes perhaps. The toilets are very clean. There is simply too much to see in one day hence we have been 3 times in the last 12 months. My sister has now also joined and thoroughly loved it. They provide a taxi for elderly guests as there is a fair bit of walking between hangers. The best hanger is where the engineers are actively working on planes. People often miss this one. If you visit during the week they will be there. During the summer there are constant flights, you can book a short pleasure flight. I plan to do this next time in the warmer months. The shop as well has something to cater for every budget. It seems as though the item profits also go back to the charity as they are all Imperial War Museum branded. I like to see this.

We visited yesterday and had the most incredible day out. I had not been since I was a child, and now I was taking my son to experience the museums.
The selection of planes in the various hangers is mind-blowing. The exhibitions are very well thought out, and it all flows impeccably.
We recommend going to the very last exhibition first, then working back to the start. We walked for about 5 hours, but there are options for shuttle buses to areas for those who might need this.
We spent the entire day there and feel like we barely scratched the surface. It's definitely worth a few visits to allow yourself to soak everything in.
The obvious stars of the show are the Blackbird, B-52, Tornado, Harrier, Lancaster, Spitfire...there's a huge list. I was impressed with many of the obscure and lesser known planes and vehicles such as the one man German sub.
A very well thought out and maintained museum that must be one of the best in the world for this subject matter.

Duxford is such a well run, curated and interesting museum. They've done an impressive job of bringing the exhibits together so that they tie in nicely. In The Cockpit ~ Spitfire N3200 Experience.
For Christmas I gifted my son this wonderful opportunity to be able to sit in the cockpit of a beautiful, historic Spitfire.
Mick, the expert IWM guide, kindly let me sit in whilst he gave us a thoroughly informative talk about the Spitfire’s history.
Then my son was able to sit in the cockpit whilst Mick explained the controls and what the conditions would have been like.
The whole experience was incredible, I cannot recommend it enough. Plus the proceeds go towards the N3200 and keeping her airworthy. A very memorable day!

So many planes and so little time! A great day out with so much to see that you do really need most of the day to get round everything. A lot of walking but it's mostly flat. They also run a regular mini bus service between hangers.

The Audley End House and Gardens, a magnificent Jacobean mansion now owned by English Heritage, was originally built on an ambitious scale by the first Earl of Suffolk. After its purchase in 1668 by Charles II, it became a royal palace and is now one of England's grandest country homes. The lavishly decorated rooms are adorned with priceless furniture and paintings, while the fine landscaped park was designed by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown.
I love it here, such a beautiful place.
As you would expect from an English Heritage property it is very well presented.
The grounds are vast and that makes it very easy to spend many hours here just enjoying the outside as well as the inside.
Depending on the day you go there are activities and demonstrations that you can watch and be part of....really interesting and educational.
If you have children there's a lovely play area as well as lots of space to run around
The food in the cafe was excellent with seating inside and out
A fab place to spend the day

Great park and house. Made for a lovely weekend. Nice to explore and relax in the gardens.
Restaurant should have been better staffed so a full menu could be available. The Cornish Pasties and sausage rolls were good, but I would have preferred a few choices.

It was so quick and easy to get to this place and park, but I would recommend getting a membership as it makes it even easier. The house and gardens were wonderful, I took loads of pictures because I found it so fantastic. I would definitely recommend visiting this place. Absolutely stunning house with tons of history and entertainment for any children you might bring with you. They have a few different interactions within the house for children to take part in, staff dressed as the characters that would have lived there around the house, dressing up areas in the children’s bedrooms and play areas inside along with puzzles to play with. So overall Audley End would be a great place to take the whole family as it provides entertainment for the children and history sites for the adults. There is also a play area in the gardens further away from the house for the children to play in, with a cafe. Absolutely amazing place to visit. I would totally recommend it for a nice day out! 😋

An interesting place and something different from the normal English Heritage property. The last entry to the hall is 15:00, inside you will find an amazing entrance hall. You are free to wonder round with information boards in each room and a volunteer on hand. There is no photography allowed in the hall, but you can get a guidebook with pictures in. The gardens are well kept with plenty of benches. Cafe, gift shop and toilets.
Ashley Lightfoot — Google review
Driving in to Audley End feels like you're entering a scene from Downton abbey, it's just stunning. We loved our visit and knew we were entering somewhere pretty special.
You will need around 3-4 hours to visit if you want to just wander through the house and extensive gardens. We wished we had taken a picnic though as the grounds are stunning and there is ample space to set down a blanket and enjoy the environment. There is a cafe where you can buy lunch, cakes, drinks etc.
We missed the shows and demonstrations they offer due to lack of planning on our part, it was a last minute decision to visit. I would recommend looking online to see what is going on before you go.
The curators have explained everything perfectly, you get a real sense of the story and what it was like to live in the house.
There is a lot to see, the visitors were multi generational and of mixed abilities, there are steps and there is a lot of walking but there are also plenty of places to rest, I think if you take it easy most of the house could be enjoyed by all. I didn't see any lifts inside but there may have been.
No photography is allowed in the main house unfortunately but the do have a guide book to buy if you would like to show friends and family what it's like inside.
We didn't get a chance to do the miniature steam railway which is just opposite the main entrance, they do say always leave something to go back for though and that is good reason to return. My advice, make this a full day visit, there is ample to do for people aged 2-102

Audley end house and gardens make a great day out. Attended the ww2 weekend which was absolutely brilliant and would certainly come again next year. And to get away from all the crowds, the grounds are quite something too.
John Gregory — Google review
Audley End House was just opening up for spring when we arrived. There were few visitors when we arrived just after midday and we toured the house first. The house itself is well set out with knowledge guides and information sheets in the main rooms. The nursery was particularly interactive for kids (the rest not so much). Some of the rooms were poorly lit, presumably for the preservation of the exhibits, stuffed animals & birds, tapestries etc. The ceilings are spectacular ... so don't forget to look up.
The tea room has an odd layout and the queue was substantial at lunchtime. By 2pm they still had plenty left (the pasties were a favourite) and the staff were helpful. The dining area was tight, especially with prams & pushchairs. Highchairs are available but I could see several mums were not impressed by their cleanliness. The plates, bowls, cutlery etc. was all disposable but some metal forks/knives/spoons were available in the 'dresser' if you know where to look.
The kitchen gardens are tidy but uninspiring as they are not growing anything yet, and we didn't have time to see the stables as they shut at 3:30.
The shop was small but as they are changing the products lots were half price. They are clearly developing some additional spaces, a shop and seating in the courtyard area.

This was our Sunday afternoon sorted!
Plenty to see plenty of history and above all very child friendly, activities within the house for children areas for you to just sit and take in the history and even on this visit one of the staff members was playing the piano which was very pleasant, two lady servants in the kitchen areas was very in character telling us what they was up to for who and then whT they will do when they clock of from the working quarters (loved it).
The tea rooms was reasonably priced and a nice amount on offer for lunch and snacks.
Children's play area was good and toilets at hand in multiple places.
Plenty of pick nick areas and space.
Well worth the 2 hour drive.
Will 100% be visiting again.

Audley End makes a gentle day out. Plenty of room to stroll and enjoy some scenery. If you need some greenery and ducks it's perfect! We really enjoyed the gardens in spring.
The house is interesting, especially if you like classic portraits. But the more curious things are explained to you by the staff. Worth asking!
Only downside was the price for refreshments. Plenty of room for picnics tho.

Peaceful and relaxing gardens with historical interest. Worth a visit if you're a member of English heritage. Many different places, walled garden, historic house, seasonal garden displays. Two cafes and a small kids playground. Quite a few picnic tables. The river cam provides a beautiful backdrop.

Beautiful house containing some amazing pieces. Love that some of the staff around the grounds are in costume and in character. The grounds are vast and beautiful. Horses in the stables are gorgeous and of great temperament. Cafe and toilet facilities are of good high standard. Lovely little play area just before heading back to the carpark for the kids to let go of that last bit of steam and for you to relax with a coffee.

English heritage site, stately home, gardens, cafe and playground. We had a fantastic time walking around and taking in the history. There's just enough going on to keep you entertained for a few hours, followed by a few hours just sitting on the grass under one of the lovely trees... just relaxing.

Wow! This place is incredible. The house is huge with lots of history and beautiful/different things to look at. You get to see the children's nursery, the dairy, the servants area, the laundry, the meat store and much more. The grounds are extensive with lots of lovely places to sit. You get to see the stables, an organic vegetable garden and the most beautiful set of ponds and a river with waterfalls. Both adults and children thoroughly enjoyed our day out.
Emily Ward — Google review
This is a remarkable building which has been incredibly preserved to give visitors a real taste of history. Once visited it becomes clear why it is one of the jewels in the English Heritage collection. There are many well furnished rooms to look around and a decent tea room to relax in. The gardens seemed to be quite decent but I didn't have time to tour them properly. The one part I did try to visit, the walled garden, was unfortunately closed.
The main reason I have not been able to award this place the full five stars is because of their ban on photography in the main house. I can understand there being no flash photography but no photography at all seems excessive. I am aphantasic which means I can't picture images in my mind so photos are really important to me as a memory. No photos means I have no real memory of the building at all which is a huge disappointment. I would strongly encourage English Heritage to look again at this ban to see if it can be relaxed.
Apart from that it is a wonderful place that I would encourage anyone to visit.

10/10. A bit pricey but worth to pay the entrance fee and visit the magnificent interior of the house along with the outside rooms and gardens which are really big and so beautiful, looked after. Had an amazing day out in there and you can also have a cuppa and some snacks or food :)

Really lovely English Heritage property. Beautiful grounds and plenty to do for children including playground and a nursery with toys and dressing up items. Riders stop horses so children can stroke them.

Fantastic place! Full of history and art. Visited before, but some rooms were closed because of the pandemic.
The volunteers are so knowledgeable and happy to help with any questions.
The staff is amazing too, friendly and welcoming.
Lots of space for parking, and a lovely café for the necessary tea/ coffee afterwards.
We'll definitely visit again.
(I suggest becoming an English Heritage member though)

This was a really enjoyable rainy day out. Lovely walking around and learning the history of the family and their grand home. Met one of the horses close up and got to ask questions about him. My girls played in the little park. Not much in the way of lunch choices, and really long queues but we did get to the restaurant late. We would love to return in the summer to enjoy the grounds more.

Great for a walk in the grounds and the house is small but lovely to walk around. Nice cafe with a good selection of hot and cold sandwiches, pies etc cute shops. Not a whole day out but ideal for an afternoon visit

Barnsdale Gardens is a garden designed to provide inspiration for gardeners and a plant nursery and tearoom. The gardens are full of beautiful gardens with many stunning outdoor living space ideas. The cafe offers great food and drink options, making it a perfect place to visit throughout the gardening year.
This was my first visit to Barnsdale Gardens, and it wont be my last! Full of beautiful gardens, and heaps of inspiration for my outdoor living spaces at home, this collection of gardens has so many stunning ideas. We also enjoyed having our lunch in the cafe, and I cant wait to visit again!

Outstanding displays with many take away ideas you could easily create your self. Good autumn colour when we went though given recent winds it might not be so good! But i would think there is always something of interest. Good value food. Plant nursery had some unusual plants in stock. Not cheap but uf you cant buy them anywhere else.....

A superb place to get real world garden ideas. Well worth visiting throughout the gardening year. Excellent tearoom.
Brian Bell — Google review
As someone who misses Geoff, it has taken me far too long to visit Barnsdale. A relaxing couple of hours seeing his gardens and the long time home of Gardeners' World has been a lovely way to spend an afternoon. We visited in mid-August, after the summer peak and as things turn to late Summer/early autumn, probably after its best display. We loved the day, but knocked off a star as it was, along with the tea rooms, a bit on the pricy side. Other than that, the staff were great, friendly and happy to chat. The gardens were great and I'm very happy to have visited.
Jonathan Hobbs — Google review
My sister and and I have just visited and thought the food from the tea rooms was lovely. Unfortunately we were stung by the very high entrance fee to get into the gardens which were dormant this time of year. True the snow drops were lovely but at £9.50 per head in winter entrance fee, the price in is very overpriced and as we had travelled a long way we felt obligated to pay it.

Lovely gardens, great location with really knowledgeable staff. Really helpful & great choice of plants. The membership is a bargain especially if you’re local. Lovely food and plenty of parking. Would highly recommend

We have visited many Big Gardens but found Barnsdale Gardens by far the best. The Gardens are set over 38 plots every garden had something to offer and you could see how they would fit into most average gardens. Allow a good 2 hrs to walk round
Small shop and nursery,The Tearooms well worth a visit

Nice day out in my opinion a bit pricey !
£12 no concession elderly/disabled
Took disabled mother on mobility scooter most of garden was accessible .Few parts were not we were advised on entry which parts .Not many disabled parking bays.
Disabled toilets and cafe accessible .Good food and coffee lovey outdoor seating area.
The garden is made up of individual gardens in my option the plants were a-little bit repetitive in some areas . I would have liked to see more gardens which stood out as being very different due to plant selection and not just landscaping like the hot / Mediterranean and the Japanese /oriental garden.
Worth a visit and will properly go back at a different time of year printed off the email when joining newsletter online and get it stamped on entry and get half price entry next visit .Join the tea room email list and get offers each month too!!
There was a Small garden centre a bit expensive didn't stock all the plants in the garden which was a bit disappointing .

A really lovely place to visit, just right for couple of hours of walking around enjoying gardens. Lots of small gardens with different themes, plenty of benches to sit and admire the views. A nice little cafe and shop and plant nursery too.

Essentially loads of nice mini gardens! An absolutely delightful range and variety of things to see for the budding gardener. Plenty of ideas to be had!

Amazing gardens, all 38 sections. Would strongly recommend a days visit.
For me, lost a star waiting for our meal (good meals served), and some sections of the garden required TLC.
Having said that, a must garden to visit.

Can relax next to the water or have an adventure around it. Very beautiful. Parking is expensive. Coffee, ice cream and toilets, boating, sailing, bike rental available. Barbeques allowed. Main attraction is the church.

We had a good time at Rutland water with the kids. We took the kids bikes to tire them out.
Plenty of parking with all day rate at a reasonable £12.The pay machines except cash and contact less payments when it works.
Toilets are situated at every car park with disabled access and are clean enough considering how many people must use them.
Food is available at a price you would expect from here £3 for chips and £5 for sandwiches or bacon cob.
The visitors centre is smaller than I expected and sell souvenirs and snacks. You can also play crazy golf at £5 each or 4 for £16. There is also a small park near the visitors centre.
I wanted to go on the boat too see the ospreys but they don't run until the back end of May and expect to pay an arm and a leg for it with adults costing £27 each.
There is cycle hire but you can take your own if you want to save some money.
There is plenty of open area's and a bbq is allowed if off the floor.
Dogs are allowed but need to be on a lead though some think this doesn't apply to them.
Plenty of wildlife to see if you look for it and some water activities at certain times of the year.
We will be going back so I can go on the osprey boat on my own as the wife's not fussed and the kids would probably end up overboard.

I've walked around Rutland Water many times. Twice walked the entire place which took the best part of 6 hours and also been fortunate enough to cycle the entire place as well and hired a tandem from their hire shop.

I just love the scenic view & peace of here. We visited it during the weekdays.
Just sitting quietly watching water is worked like therapy. You can get food easily there but they shut down around 4.30 pm on weekdays.
I just love the floating boats & people there who were lost fully in nature.

Beautiful way to enjoy this county. I cycled the entire lake on the convenient shared path. At my leisurely pace with stop offs for tea, ice cream, photos etc it took about 3.5hrs. The lake is well serviced with car parks, toilets, shops, and great views. Beware sheep, ducks and flies 😆
Stanwick Lakes is a 750-acre nature reserve in Northamptonshire. The reserve offers a fantastic day out for children, with activities such as nature education services and crafts courses. There's also plenty of space to walk your dog, and Cafe Solar has wonderful views over the lake from its huge windows.
Lovely walks with lots of benches to take in the view, a perfect place to take the family as there are lots of play areas for all ages even including a zip line! And if that's not your thing there are loads of hides and peaceful areas to walk through and explore nature. There is also a great cafe and toilets too!

There are always lots of activities running for kids and adults.

Went there on a weekend. Parking was paid and needs to be paid before you exit. The play area was really great with lots of fun stuff for kids of all ages. It was a little crowded with loads of families and kids, but we didn't have to wait for any of the slides. Our 3 yo enjoyed his time, and loved playing in the sand. One unique thing was the water flowing through the play area and down some wooden structures and places where kids could dip their legs and splash around in.
The park itself is huge and there are several areas to walk. We saw quite a few families putting down blankets and having a picnic. Would definitely visit again and recommend to anyone looking for a fun outing or a picnic.

Beautiful well kept nature park which so much to do and see. Family weekend walk round the trails did not disappoint. Plenty of open spaces for kids to run around. A treehouse which the kids found really engaging and finishing off the trail on one of the many playgrounds in the area. Truly was a fantastic, well kept park. And for parking for the whole day £4.50 for the whole day was not bad either.

What a beautiful place, I really recommend going here, the lakes are beautiful. The water is so clear under the bridge that you can see the fish. The park for the children is amazing. Especially the water feature they can play with. I haven't managed to go all the way around, but definitely will go back when I visit my cousin again.
The assault course was great fun.

Fantastic place, full of endless fun.
There is huge playground, with water play in the summer. Kids can play in the sand as well. There is also a very long walk around lakes with sculptures, things to see, climbing walls and much more. There is also a fantastic obstacle course. You can visit this place on a bike or walk around it.
The cafe is lovely and overlooking the lake. The food is very good.
The Jolly Waggoner is a charming inn nestled in a picturesque Hertfordshire village. It offers hearty cuisine, sourced from local farms, and boasts a diverse menu that changes daily. The pub stands out among others in the area due to its reasonable prices and use of high-quality ingredients. They were happy to reserve a table of 12 for a group of cyclist. Food was great with an inclusive vegetarian menu. Nice. Also the beer Twitched was fantastic with a wide range of tastes and flavours on the nose and pallette.

Very basic menu if you don’t like a burger or fish and chips then you are screwed. I had a burger that was underdone (which I know I fashionable) but I think the customer should have the right to choose. No garnish literally a burger and chips - bit too minimal for my liking, friendly teenagers behind the bar.

We were staying in the local area and could walk to the pub from our accommodation. It was a Sunday lunch time and the pub was very busy, but we were given a nice table in the restaurant. We both ordered the Roast, husband had beef, I had pork. We both enjoyed it, however, found the garlic flavour on the vegetables a little over powering. Husband had the Sticky Toffee pudding and said it was one of the best he's ever tasted. Our waitress was really friendly and chatty. We'd definitelyreturn should we be in the area again.

Great place, super staff but have knocked a star off because you put garlic in the veg. Garlic bread, yes, Garlic Veg no.

Traditional, attractive old pub with a range of Sunday roasts. Would advise reserving a table as it’s popular for Sunday lunches.
The veggie option was not great a bit slimy and bland though the roast pork was good with plenty of green veg. However there was a paucity of roast potatoes and carrots etc but loads of cabbage and kale.
Felt it was a bit overpriced and short on decent veg. However the staff were very friendly and despite it being busy got the food out quickly and asked if we wanted more drinks. The discretionary service charge of 10% whatever the number of people though was a bit hard to take. Could understand it if was for larger tables but a bit of a blow if you are a couple or foursome.

Wicksteed Park is a family-friendly amusement park with around 30 rides, large playgrounds, lakeside walks and a narrow-gauge railway. The park is also home to 147 acres of parkland, a water meadow and an arboretum. The amusement park is amazing and definitely worth going to if you're in the area!
Amazing time with the family, both my little ones loved it. I definitely recommend getting wrist bands as works out cheaper and can go on the rides multiple times. Lovely walk around see all the animals. Even better now they have a little farm area to look around. If your there over 3 hours car parking is £6 but worth it as you don't get bored. Even take a picnic makes your day cheaper.

A great place for a day out with children. The staffs are quite friendly, and my son had a good time there. I recommend to buy a wristband if you plan more than 8 rides. The parking is not free, 6 pounds per day.

First time visiting this park and wasn’t disappointed. Such a lovely place. Couldn’t decide to either buy wristbands or tokens. Family of four.
Two adults. 6 year old and nearly 2 year old 0.8m tall. Wristbands were the cheaper option in the end. Staff friendly and happy. Food was really tasty. We ate in the American diner. We couldn’t do the whole park we got there at midday so we ran out of time. We will come back and come earlier in the day.

Have been coming to Wicksteed Park all my life, so I love bringing my children along. Brilliant day out with £1 tickets for rides (summer holiday special) but such a shame about the wait for the log flume (1½-2hrs!). We love the open space and lots of places to sit for a picnic. We would love to see more rides or attractions at the lower end of the park, near the old log flume and boating lake.
Hayley Wells — Google review
Nice walk around and plenty of benches to sit on. Lovely free park for the kids and coffee/ice-cream/snacks available. Great rides for the younger ones (under 12's) though at £3 a ride or £20 per wristband it could get expensive. Also have to pay for parking. All in all not a bad place to visit.
Katie Reed — Google review
Comprehensive free play area. Could maybe do with a little more for the younger ones, though our 3 year old had a good go at things! Also enjoyed the paid rides. Not impressed with the sandwiches or cleanliness of tables in cafe. Coffee good and staff friendly. Car park and paths good. We thought it a bit odd that there was a washbasin in the disabled loo but no drier!

Wicksteed Park is lots of fun every time we go and we even have a parking permit as we are locals. It is great to go walkies with your dog around the whole Park the Lake included. Nature on your door step. Now that the season started I am looking forward to the Ice cream Parlour to open again. One of this years new features are the Barn with lots of different kind of animals to see. At the moment they have 8 very cheeky goat kids. And I had the pleasure to help out with bottle feeding them. It was fantastic. My daughter does her work experience there as well as having a seasonal job now. Very friendly environment. Can definitely recommend a visit.

I've been visiting Wicksteed for thirty odd years and never had a bad visit. It's great value, attentive staff and lovely setting always make for a great day out. It looks like the park could do with a little investment and the lake / water / boating corner especially looks tired and a lot of the old attractions have gone. I'm crossing my fingers for this place and I'll keep visiting regardless.
Hywel Lewis — Google review
I remember going here when I was young in the 1960s! This time took our grandchildren, 2 and 5. Overall a great day out, plenty to do for at least the 5 year old and sufficient for 2 year old. Faster rides though not suitable (not a criticism just letting people know). Wide open spaces, old fashioned park rides, fun fair rides etc. Great place to take a picnic and a ball as you pay for the rides you go on. For the age mix of our party we didn't need to buy the wrist bands: they cost £22 and we didn't go on 27 rides. They recommend individual tickets for the very young, but I'd do the same for all of us next time. We were left with a little sour taste in that the indoor play area is extra, not covered by wrist band or tickets. Only found out after making the promise to the GKids. We'd definitely go again and mix the attractions with family picnic, own ball games etc.

We visited the park with my 5 year old son as it had been recommended by my father who visited as a child. We had an incredible day from start to finish. Started our day in the top park of the park going on the swings, drop tower, clown coaster, tea cups and the huge indoor slides. All operated quickly but the rides had very short cycles. However if there was no large queue, which there wasn't all day, the operators allowed you to ride again! Little one also loved the bird house with the talking parrots. We then moved to the lower section of the park and rode the log flume, ladybird coaster and the flying ride. All very good with the log flume getting you wetter than i thought it would! We then had some lunch which was very resonably priced and enjoyable as well! We then went to what was the highlight of the day for me, the vintage rides. The cars were okay but the original 30s water shoot is brilliant. Not many of these left either and you can tell its well looked after. We finished on the train for a lovely ride round the entire park. Overall we had a fantastic day and will certainly be back!

I have been going to wickstead park since I was tiny. The land is beautiful and the park looks great fun. The old playground equipment is there to the rocking horses. The rides are great there were several that weren't open which was a disappointment ie the roller coaster the big wheel. The others were great queues were small. Went on the classic train which hasn't lost its spark. The animal area was brilliant we loved it there. The lady in there today showed us the tortoises and took them out. We got to stroke them and get up close. The highlight of our trip. The food was great we bought hot food there which was tasty and quite reasonable. The staff were all friendly in the cafes on the rides. One particular lady at the Old vintage car ride was so lovely and friendly especially to the little ones. The dodgems were great fun. We had a fabulous day. We did order tickets in advance which saved us lots. Plenty of parking.
Sarah Sowerby — Google review
Such a wonderful experience with all the rides! Not enough time to get to all the activities in the day, but well worth trying.
If your child is under a metre then I wouldn't suggest buying a wrist band as there are very few rides they can go on. In fact there is only 1 ride that they can ride on alone and then 4 rides that a grown up would need to join you (there may be more, but that's what I experienced with my 2.5 year old). The staff were very helpful and friendly. The toilets were clean and well maintained. The parks are also well maintained and beautiful - I wish I'd taken more photos!
If you go now (May) there are little goslings and lambs to see too. And obviously all the spring flowers, trees are all green,so it's a very pleasant place to picnic.

Just before the summer holidays my wife, son and myself had a day off together which is rare because of our work hours. We decided we could just about afford a day out somewhere and thought we'd try Wicksteed park. I checked the website to make sure it was open because it wasn't a typical high peak time of the year. The website showed that it was fully open and all the rides would be open from April to September.
So off we went the next day quite excited because I hadn't been since the 80s and was hoping it was a lot better than I remembered. All I could remember was the train and the pirate ship and my siblings pretending to enjoy it more than we did. But when we turned up the car park was virtually empty and after waiting half an hour we found out everything was closed. We got back in the car without paying for parking, thinking that we'd only been a short while and if they fined us I'd just explain that their website has misled led us and we obviously hadn't driven all the way from Cambridge to sit around for nothing.
Well we did get a £30 fine presented wonderfully and neatly with two pictures of our car showing how we had been watched. I thought, no problem, I'll appeal and explain that the website had displayed the opening times incorrectly and so we had parked on the belief we'd be enjoying the park. They couldn't care less. The appeal was denied on the terms that signs were clearly displayed around the car park. No humanity at all, just a case of, you left without paying so now pay the fine or it goes up to £60.
I thought that was a pretty unfair decision so I wrote to the park via their friendly looking website. They are not friendly at all and neither do they seem to have any understanding of business and public relations. In true mafia style they explained that the car park was run by a management company and they could do nothing about their decision. The thing is, they could have done something to sweeten public relations but they chose not to. There was no reply in regards to the misleading information on their website which started the trouble. As a result we will never go back, we will never recommend it and when people have asked about our experience there, I've told them about the underlying sense of criminality and not to bother taking your kids. They don't seem to want us there, so people of Kettering you can keep it to yourselves, we'll put our money towards more worthy causes.

Great value for a day out. Even better the tickets were a £1 per ticket instead of £3 until end of August. I purchased a wristband for my 2 girls and 3 of there friends as better value for me. Took lunch and drinks with us as very expensive on site to buy food and drinks which is why I marked as 4 not 5.

Lots of car parking space, make sure you have paid on exit the machine is easy to use taking cash and card , it's expensive on the rides especially during colder months as some of the rides are not available and you have to pay the same ,please ensure you know the height limits as 1 meter can by an inch mean the difference of £25.00 . Bands cannot be swapped and best practice is to arrive early with a picnic even though food and drink is available, the staff are friendly and helpful there is a jobsworth at the top of the park that runs a log thing on a track that says I will call a supervisor but I'm sure you will find that out , overall, arrive early and enjoy make the most of it ,it's a good day to enjoy arriving early gives good value.

I loved wicksteed park growing up and i still do i love the flower gardens and water features the rides are amazing too this part deserves appreciation for the amount of hard work the volunteers put into making it a great place for all the family, id love to see this park restored and invested in because it benefits so many people i will visit with my dog anytime its lovely

I'm most disappointed with the ability to pay for the car park today. The machine wouldn't accept any form of card payment. Tried inserting the card and paying via touch pad method nothing worked. Had to pay it online where it was charging extra for doing so. Not my fault they can't accept payment on the pay machine, it shouldn't cost extra to pay online.

I love a good visit to Wicksteed Park any time of year, its so beautiful to walk around, I like finding a quite spot to do some reading in nicer weather, I love photography and being there taking photos, lovely fireworks display this year. Would love to join the team there for fire performance entertainment.

This was quite an experience - we all agreed that it felt like we were stepping back in time. I love amusement parks but am mostly used to more modern ones. This one had real charm to it, keeping much of (what I presume is) the original décor, design and rides as is and obviously spending more money on maintaining what people clearly loved over upgrading to flashier, more modern attractions. I thought it was wonderful - the different areas, the rides and attractions that all of the children adored, the variety of what was on offer - it was great value for money.

The payments machine was not working and i've tried to install the app and pay online, but i had the same issues. Today i just received a claim form from the TOTAL PARKING SOLUTION threatening me with a CCJ, claiming £221 for the parking. I'll take them to the court and never visit that park. They run a parking scam business, and should be ashamed.

Herrings Green Activity Farm is a family-friendly farm attraction located in Bedfordshire. The center houses a vast collection of over 200 birds of prey, including eagles, owls, and hawks. Visitors can enjoy daily flying shows to learn more about these impressive birds. In addition to the bird displays, the farm also features goats and rabbits for children to interact with and a play area for them to enjoy.
My wife and I were given the Eagle Experience as a gift, and were finally able to take advantage of it today following all the covid restrictions. What a fantastic occasion it was, we got to hold some of the eagles , see flying demonstrations, and flew a couple of the eagles ourselves! Our host Abbie was very friendly, and very knowledgeable, and made the time that we were with her an altogether enjoyable one. A*****

Very fun little farm. Great for kids. Demonstrations with the birds were great and the ladies hosting were friendly and informative (including the new lady who fought the nerves away to host for the first time and did a great job).
The rest of the staff we dealt with were really friendly too.
Barrel rides, owl flights, lots of play equipment, petting zoo, oh and the odd dinosaur kept the kids entertained all morning.
Good value for money. Will be back soon to try the tea room.

Today, I had my birthday present from my lovely family. What a fantastic experience.
Highlight holding a beautiful Red Kite. Wow moment, having a Bald Eagle land on my hand. Most exciting raptor the amazing Bateleur. Funniest Brian the Brahminy Kite.
I met some absolutely beautiful birds.
Jake was very interesting and really knows his stuff.
Sharon, you need need a medal, dealing with visitors, shop and tearoom pretty much single handed and all with a smile on your face.
I can't wait to come back.

What a wonderful day we had on Easter Monday 2022 at Herrings Green Farm! I think it's a fab place to spend time on any given day but for Easter they had set up a fun-filled schedule that all the children loved, including flying displays, tractors rides, animal interactions, an Easter egg hunt and much more. We had children aged 18 months to 12 years and they all said how much they loved it.
It is well worth the money and I'd even recommend an annual membership if you live in the area as it is a such a vast space, with different enclosures, various play areas for all ages, a wide variety of animals, especially birds of prey (with all the interesting information provided) and amenities are great. The staff are knowledgeable and kind, the cafe offers lots of options (we brought our own picnic but did try their hot drinks and cake - very good) and there's loads of parking.
Something I also noticed is that they offer a staggering amount of activity days, courses and events, like hawking or hunting with eagles, junior animal keeper days. You can also book for schools, birthdays or special events.

We came on Saturday with our little boy and a friend with his little boy, we absolutely loved it such a wonderful farm lots of different animals and bird to see also great play areas for the kids. We loved the shows and the pat a pet, would definitely recommend fir a family day out. we've just booked our son's 7th birthday here he loved it so much thank you ☺️

My Daughter brought a 3 hour experience with Birds of Prey, for my Birthday. Absolutely Fabulous day. The Staff were all friendly and knowledgeable, our guide was Shona), but the real stars of the show were obviously the birds. A large variety from very small to huge, were all on view and were all placed on our gloved hands. I have been to places like this before, but have never found birds that were so at ease with people. You could bring them very close to you and see them in great detail, with no sense of threat or unease with the birds, (who seemed happy and content throughout). An excellent venue, well run and friendly

Had a lovely afternoon out. The bird of prey display was absorbing, educational and entertaining. In the aviaries the birds looked to be well kept and there was plenty of information on the species. The kids loved the rabbit and guinea pig petting session. A tractor ride made a nice break. Once we'd seen everything there was a little obstacle course and play area, again the kids enjoyed this. The only thing I'd say negatively was the food available in the tea shop was pre packaged and of variable quality. OK for a snack but I'd probably eat somewhere else if going again. Overall well worth a visit.

Great selection of birds. Some stunning birds of prey, as for the rest of it, I wouldn’t rush back. Unorganised, scheduled flight display just didn’t happen, when I questioned it was told, it was cancelled due to lack of people and that animal handling would be on in place an hour later. Returned and all that was available was an owl flight. Whilst we enjoyed that, it was a little disappointing. The toilets were filthy, no hand wash, no towels, toilets didn’t flush, there were very few people so no reason why. No signs to direct you to the other animal areas and generally shabby.

Went here for a 3hr experience my bf bought me for Xmas. Unfortunately the day we went it was a bit drizzly and rainy so seems the experience was cut short? We didn't get to fly any birds ourselves as they state in the website and didn't get to see the larger birds of prey fly (like the kites or eagles).
Did get to hold an American bald Eagle, 2 large owls and a small falcon.
I loved seeing all the different birds but I'd say being a large group means you end up waiting a while for turns.
Overall I loved being so close to these birds, there were lots to see from tiny cute owls to massive sea eagles!

Amazing afternoon at Herrings Green Activity!
Staff were absolutely lovely and made the experience grand. Wide array of birds allowing for great photography. The midday show was absolutely fantastic! Very informative and a lot of fun getting people involved. If you have kids it’s a perfect day out!

What a great day out. Lots of birds and farm animals to see. Play area for the kids & lots of picnic benches.
The bird displays were amazing & the little ones loved the tractor ride & feeding the goats.
Getting the opportunity to wear a glove and have a owl on you was definitely everyone's highlight.
The toilets were a bit dated (porta cabins in car park) and when we went the car parks seemed full so the chap told us to start a row down the middle! But this is only a small niggle & shouldn't put you off going!
Nice tea room selling cakes, sandwiches and ice cream.

Herrings Green Activity Farm and Bird of Prey Activity Centre is a delightful experience that made for a memorable Secret Santa Christmas gift brought for me by my daughters.
My gift included a walk with the Alpacas, an Owl experience and tea/coffee cake afterwards.
The passion and knowledge the staff have are second to none and share their love and enthusiasm adding to the overall enjoyment. Very friendly and welcoming. The chance to interact with majestic birds of prey was truly captivating. It's a perfect outing for nature enthusiasts and families alike.
Highly recommend wearing wellies, although that sounds obvious there were a few people with wet and muddy feet in what looked like new trainers 😮.
Parking slight issue due to the wet weather with the overflow car park being flooded. So decided to park on the main road. No fault to the centre as not much they can do about it.

I love this place. Always interactive and plenty of things to do so children can get closer to the animals. The bird displays are amazing! And the animals seem happy as they are all flown daily and get looked after.
However I do wonder how often the cages are cleaned. The last time I was there, the red macaw was being kept in a cage far too small for him. However I believe they were making him a much larger area. I sincerely hope this has been done already.
Overall though we visit this farm every few months as there is a HUGE amount of birds that are incredible. It's a great afternoon out for kids & adults.

Best to go when good weather, lots of variety of birds, organised groups can experience holding them, interesting displays. Knowledgeable staff. Play area is a little tired, fine for under 8s, but you don't go there for the play area.

A great day out at Herrings Farm. Some amazing, majestic and awesome birds. The highlight was definitely the display and getting the chance to handle the owl.
Kids area was fun as was seeing the other farm animals. Kids enjoyed the goat feeding. Was a bit muddy and mushy but that was expected with the current climate.
The staff and bird handlers were so friendly and informative.
Will return for sure in summer time.

Payed for a family falconry experience to find out when we got there that they have no disabled access nor do they accommodate for people in wheelchairs. there is no disabled toilet. The ground is muddy and soft and was unable to joining the activities and some of the poor and hilarious excuses they tried using simply outrageous and was told there’s no manager but I could talk to and have to email them instead reply the food quality in the restaurant is terrible no dietary selections and the presentation well… most of your children can do better

Hatfield House is a grand Jacobean country home located in Hertfordshire, England. Built in the 17th century on the site of Queen Elizabeth I's childhood home and later used as a prison for Queen Mary, it has been the family residence of the Cecils ever since. The estate boasts lush gardens and a farm, making it an ideal destination for those who appreciate stately homes with historical significance.
Fabulous visit and I can not say enough about the staff / volunteers working there! Just very much customer service oriented and very helpful too.
We loved our visit and enjoyed every bit of it. There are shops with various items and even a pet grooming service. The restaurant is huge with outdoor and indoor sitting. We had cake and coffee and tea.
The house was not open unfortunately so we will have to go back to visit.
We took the guided tour and the tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable so if you have time I would recommend the guided tour.

A peaceful afternoon spent in a splendid location. The house itself is incredibly well looked and immaculate. The guides in each room are very helpful and more than happy to share their knowledge from the paintings, to which films and TV shows have been filmed at the house.
The views from the house are beautiful and gardens incredibly well looked after.
It wasn't busy at all and we could walk around at our own pace.
Will certainly be visiting again.

A beautiful stately house with lovely out buildings and extensive grounds. Staff are courteous and the catering is tasty and reliable. Plus there are a few shops.
We spent a day in conference (actually our second time, as it's an annual conference and we enjoyed the previous year so much the organisers chose to return).
The house was closed but we had a nice half hour stroll in the grounds on a sunny autumn day. Lovely colours and a deep blue sky.

A beautiful and interesting place for a wonderful day out to a historical place of significance. The gardens are beautifully maintained, lovely to walk around, and the house has a lot of heritage features from various eras of Tudor, Stuarts, Edwardian and Victorian years.
The staff are very well informed about the importance and meaning of all the various artworks including significant Elizabeth I portraits and furnishings within the house. The woodland walks look very adventurous.
We went during a weekday and the place was not crowded.
The ticket prices are a little steep but there are different concessions available and offers with train partnerships that can help with costs but definitely worth the visit.

Very interesting place for a visit. Wasn't too busy when we arrived around 11am on a Sunday. Each room in the house has a well informed guide only too eager to help answer any questions you might have. It was a bit pricey compared to other historical buildings we visited at £22 per person for the house and gardens. The gardens were beautiful but only one section is open to public so it was quite small for the price. Overall though happy we went.

The Royal & Derngate is a top-notch performing arts center located in the heart of Northampton. It boasts two high-quality theatres that host both in-house dramas and touring classical music troupes. The entrance is welcoming, and the bar offers excellent service to guests. The theatres provide unobstructed views of the stage from every seat, with ample space for comfortable sitting. The venue is always heated adequately, ensuring comfort during colder weather conditions.
We loved it 💕☺️
The entry tickets for the ballet show tonight were at a reasonable price (£18/pers).
However, as a parent of a child that performs on the stage, I was expecting a discount (as I had to pay for all the family including our 3y old).
Anyways, we'll definitely come back. Smart dress code is recommended ✅

Excellent show (Waitress)
The overall impression of the theatre was positive. Feels a little dated/worn-out in places and the seats are quite basic ( became uncomfortable after an hour or so).
The staff were friendly and professional, the toilets were clean and COVID guide lines implemented.

Sally assistance hound and I attended the Royal & Derngate theatre to see 2:22 A Ghost Story for the Wednesday afternoon screening and what a wonderfully entertaining and fabulous experience it was too! Sally and I were extremely well looked after by the "ushers in orange ties" who are specifically there to help folk with special needs. It was a wonderful play. There were about 600 people present in a 1000 seat theatre. Worth the effort and cost in my opinion. Well performed. Well written plot and dialogue. I loved it! Note well that if you're affected by bright flashing lights and exceptionally loud noises this play may not be for you!

A theatre of the highest quality with a warm entrance at the door and 100% service behind the bar. The theatres themselves offer good views of the stage for every show and the seats have plenty of space for your sitting comfort. It is always heated well so in colder weather there is never anything to worry about and with it being in the heart of Northampton it is always easy to go elsewhere once you are done at Royal and Derngate.
Mark W Official — Google review
There are two theatres on this site. The original theatre is beautiful, the modern theatre is functional but definitely lacks the gold gilt and red velvet visu impact of the older theatre. Both are comfortable but there are stairs all over the place because the modern Derngate has been built on a slope. There are lifts for those with mobility challenges, but I admit that I struggle and I am not even in a wheelchair. I only found out that there is a disabled toilet on the Derngate main floor this week. I have been going to shows here for 20 years! The acoustics in both spaces are great. Your experience will vary according to what you have chosen to see. There is a multi-storey carpark down the (steep) hill. It is tight for modern cars. The queues to pay and then to exit can be long after a performance, so be prepared to wait. There is a closer small car park but I have never worked out how to get into it!

Interesting layout for a theatre this size. Very poor ventilation, so air becomes very stale quite quickly. The ability to exit at the end of the performance is hampered by all leaving on one side without adequate exit points.

As a wheelchair user and the first time going to the theatre in a wheelchair. It was fantastic. The staff could not do enough to help, in fact they went above and beyond. Went to see jersey boys, really good. Great view and as I am 6ft 7inches tall there was plenty of space and leg room even in a wheelchair. It's worth noting the theatre here have their own access scheme here for wheelchair users. The foyer and bar areas are lovely and spacious and modern . Top marks to the lady who came to check on us throughout the evening. You were fantastic. Will be going back here to the derngate again.

A lovely theatre, with a wide variety of shows. Because of the issues with the concrete, parts of the venue are closed, which makes it a slightly less pleasant visit as you go in the back way to some areas. Enjoyed Snow White (panto) and Six (musical) recently. The temporary toilets near the entrance to the Filmhouse are tiny, so use toilets inside the theatre if you are able.

Our visit was to see Elio Pace and his band Billy Joel Songbook. We had seats in the stalls where it started to tier. The view and sound was great.
The age of the venue shows, as my seat had a large colour matching patch to cover a worn area on the front edge.
There were plenty of venue staff to serve you quickly at the interval. The queue and wait for the ladies was reasonable, as there were an adequate number of them.
The only negative experience of the night was having a bunch of keys jangled in front of us by a member of venue staff. Presume this was her way to encourage us to leave at the end of the night, whilst we chatted in the bar area with some of the band members and fans.

The first show since reopening (having been closed because of RAAC). Obviously there are some difficulties caused by the main entrance still being a construction site. Nice quiet town with a nice cathedral. the cathedral can be visited for free in 20 minutes. it's worth it if someone is interested in monuments and history. Haven't been here for years! Walked round the town and then went to the abbey. We thought we'd be able to have lunch but something was happening and we couldn't so got a cake and a coffee instead. Cafe is lovely and to the side of the entrance (loos downstairs) after a drink we had a look round the cathedral itself. There was a school practising for a carol concert but we could still wander round. Enjoyed the visit. Great wall art and a lovely tomb. Looking at the rose window really makes you understand how big it is. We went at Christmas time, the Nativity scene wouldn't be there all year but was good to see. There's a shop in the foyer.

Free entry, although donations suggested or donation boxes in every little corner, there is also a tour - not sure how often, but on a Sunday it was twice during mid afternoon, but didn't have time to take part it - it was stated that it runs about 1hour. Did not know much about it beforehand, were visiting in neighbouring town, but didn't expected to find such a big church in a small village/town - well, its a cathedral*. Beautiful architecture and floors, decorations, few/some signs to explain what you're seeing. If in the area, think it is worth a visit, nearby is a large park and a pub in-between, if interested in a walk.

St Albans Cathedral is a remarkable gem that exudes centuries of history and architectural splendor. Stepping into this sacred space, I was immediately struck by the grandeur of its towering walls and intricate details. The peaceful ambiance enveloped me as I marveled at the stunning stained glass windows that bathed the interior in a kaleidoscope of colors. The serene beauty of the cathedral provided a moment of respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, allowing me to reflect and find solace in its sacred surroundings. St Albans Cathedral is not just a place of worship, but a sanctuary of peace and inspiration that leaves a lasting impression on all who visit.

A beautiful place to visit and learn historical stories from the past. Being there during a school day, I could observe how the pupils/ children are introduced to the historical past, through teaching methods that involve storytelling and small skits in which the pupils are actors in the scenes from the past. The place is loaded with a lot of history and hope. I also had a delicious hot chocolate at the cafe inside the location!

I love the history and story of St Albans, particularly as it is named in honour of the first British martyr and saint. The St Albans cathedral is very impressive and I loved visiting it.
There are numerous rooms and areas of the cathedral to explore and appreciate. I noticed they have done well to be wheel chair friendly in each area that is usually accessed by steps.
There is a little Cafe if you're in need of a tank refill before exploring more. It was my first experience tasting a lemon drizzle cake, which looked like nothing special, but was absolutely divine!
Although we didn't attend one of the guided tours, I expect it would have been well worth it (but we had a toddler and newborn with us, so negated that ability).
Give yourself a good couple of hours to explore, appreciate, and enjoy.

The flower displays were simply stunning... so beautiful and artistic.. We saw the beautiful wooden carvings of the choir stalls and the Bishops wooden chair.. beautiful piece of work... lovely gift shop, although a little bit expensive and cafe too...... The Cathedral is FREE to enter, but to keep up the finances, donations are welcome... could spend hours in here.... well worth a visit.

One of the best churches I have ever visited in the UK. Lots of original wall paintings and carvings from the middle ages. No admission fee, donation is welcome. Guides are on site, they are very helpful and prepared. Do not forget to find the mask wearing COVID-time, stone statue carving on one of the shrines.

The Cathedral is well presented with access to most of the building, with very informative comments at relevant areas. Great way to see historical sites free admission but do ask for donations which I feel is more than fair.

Great cathedral in the centre of this wonderful city, there are guides that take you on a tour roughly an hour in length.
Check times of the tours with the help desk manned by friendly staff.
Great sounding organ from 1962 that was recently refurbished.
They have concerts in the cathedral on various dates during the year, please check St Albans Cathedral website.
The usual services during the week and weekends taking place in the mornings, midday and early evening.
Great cafe serving lunch, cakes and tea or coffee, and a wonderful shop for gifts or to treat yourself.
I adore this Cathedral and always go there whenever I am in St Albans.
Please visit this wonderful Cathedral and support it by giving some of your loose change or donate whatever amount with a contactless card.
Light a candle or write a message on a card and post it on the board, maybe it will be read out at a service.
Go to a service to experience the spiritual wellbeing and sing a few songs with the congregation.

A very lovely cathedral which mesmerising stained glass windows, skyscraper high ceilings and detailed carvings. Lots of useful information boards scattered around which help you to learn more about this grand cathedral. Lots of choices in the gist shop and a nice looking cafe. I was lucky enough to enter when their choir were singing and they sounded marvelous. I would go there again and you should to.

A lovely place to visit. An extraordinary building with a 1000 years history. We even witnessed a coral concert. Beautiful architecture, interactive activities, panels explaining the history, loads of volunteers to help and tours available for free, donations welcome. At the end of visit you can have a lovely meal in the church caffe looking at the park nearby. A great experience.

St. Albans is a beautiful cathedral with long history, that is worth a 20-30 minute wander through. There are informative signs throughout showing key highlights of the cathedral, such as the medieval mosaics, doors, and ceilings, as well as a timeline of key events just before the entrance. It is free to visit, though donations are appreciated.
Facility-wise, they have a very nice cafe, clean toilets, and a gift shop.

Visited St Albans Cathedral on Bank Holiday Easter Monday, what a beautiful place it is. You are free to walk around the Cathedral and grounds, there is no charge (although donations are encouraged understandably). Even if you are not religious, to be in this space is incredibly moving, the architecture and detail are astounding. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed our visit, albeit short, here. Wonderful architecture and decor.
Very welcoming staff in the entrance shop & café.
There is no charge to visit, but they do suggest a donation.
We visited on the day Hertfordshire University graduation ceremonies were in full swing, so the place was heaving with everyone in their finery - it added to the atmosphere rather than spoil the occasion, even if some slight restrictions were , necessarily, in place for a period.
The website has a virtual to check out before you go.

Beautiful cathedral with historic background extremely well presented. Definitely worth visiting when in St Albans. Probably the highlight of the visit to the town. Strongly recommend.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. I could have stayed at the cathedral for hours. It’s beautiful, it has history, and it’s a must-see (IMHO). There was a tour group we tagged along with and the tour guide ended up giving us a quick recap of the first half. We appreciated that!

Beautiful cathedral. Tranquil place to walk around with lots of information to read if you don’t have a guide book. Well worth a visit.

Firstly, I have to thank Laurie, our guide for bringing this Holy place to life, he was very knowledgeable and personable. I loved the way that the wall murals were illuminated to show what they (probably) looked like. Beautiful altar screen and ceilings. Well worth a visit.

Can this place get a lesser review. One of the best places to visit in UK with lots to do. Consider for a day trip out of london
Lots of parking option although paid but not too expensive. Can pay by app, card or cash.
Toilets readily available
Accessible
Walk through the park and enjoy nature.
Cathedral itself was the crown jewel- The main altar- you actually need to sit down and take it all in. I won’t post any pictures as I don’t feel they would do justice to the beauty of the place.
The peace despite the footfall is astounding . Free guided tours with volunteers almost every hour . Delve into the history and marvel at the architecture. Lovely cafe for some cake and tea.
Souvenir shop with some notebooks for the little ones.
And like the most beautiful things in life, it’s free!

Althorp Estate is a tourist attraction that offers access to the Spencer family estate during July and August. Visitors can explore Princess Diana's island grave and a museum, as well as enjoy outdoor activities like walking around the peaceful grounds, having picnics, and visiting the stables/cafe. The manor house is well-preserved and provides an interesting insight into history. Staff members are friendly, knowledgeable, and enhance visitors' experiences.
Well preserved manor house. Best place to bring children and have picnic. Great for outdoor fun like walking around estates. Terribly interesting and we have a great weather. The staff are all lovely and knowledgeable. Well worth a visit.

Although the house was of stately home proportions, you could tell it was someone's actual home. Without exception, all the staff were really friendly. They encouraged you to ask questions and seemed genuinely interested in where you were from and why you were there. It never felt busy, and the walk to Princess Diana's last resting place was quite peaceful. There are a number of benches around the lake for reflection. I liked that they didn't push their products or food onto you. In fact, they have provided a nice picnic area for you if you want to take your own food. Only those with a disability are allowed to be driven up to the property. All other visitors park in a field opposite the entrance gate. There is then a 10 min walk to the house.

Lovely house. Pity that a lot of the rooms are gated off so you can only see part of the room. The guide book does compensate somewhat. Long gallery is the highlight. No photography inside allowed.
Walk to the lake to see Diana's resting place which is reflective and peaceful.

This is an amazingly beautiful place, I went on my own as I wanted some peace and tranquility..... And I found it! My photos don't do the grounds justice, especially Diana's lake! Staff are friendly and helpful. Only two negatives one was that I didn't think that there a great choice of food in the tea room, especially savory food, but this could be because of covid restrictions. There is a lovely picnic area on the other side of the court yard.. Which is set in a lavender walled garden. The other being only one lot of toilets, which is by the picnic area... But if your disabled it's more of a problem as the grounds are vast. All in all this is a fantastic place to go for the day.... I ran out of time and didn't even look in the house.. So I will be going again very soon 😁

We travelled quite a distance (Lancashire) to see this historic site and also to pay our respects to an unforgettable people's Princess and great lady. Although there is no longer a museum dedicated to her memory I think her memories live on at this estate for all to see...her resting place is in a beautiful location at the lake and there's also a wonderful memorial at the side of said lake. Present within the walls of the historic Althorp house is a very large wall hung painting of Diana along with her father, brother Charles and his wife....although we'd all like to see more tributes of Diana at the end of the day it was her home, it was also the Spencer family home so I think personally it's a tasteful balance between the history of the estate, the Spencer family and a gentle tribute to our Princess. I would definitely recommend visiting not just for Diana but the history surrounding the family and the estate.

My partner and I really enjoyed the visit. 14/7/21 Staff were very knowledgable and friendly. Weather was lovely so it made the walking around the grounds even more enjoyable and so peaceful. Wanted to visit Princess Diana's childhood home so when on holiday we booked advance tickets to see through it. One of the guides, Sarah, was so knowledgeable and friendly, she made our trip special. So much history to this family which I didn't know before. The rooms were lovely to see in all their splendour. Gift shop quite small but worth a visit. Not much about Diana, other than 2 portraits of her and a photograph. Visited the garden too where we went to the pond and island where Diana is buried. Saa the memorial plaques too in a serene, tranquil spot. We visited on a warm day which enhanced our trip.

Wonderful stately home of the Spencer family. Tour of the property was insightful, with the art collection and walking to the Diana memorial is a peaceful place to sit.
Note, don't forget your umbrella! 😊

It was my first visit in a number of years - I was lucky enough to visit several times during the Diana Exhibition years. Whilst all of that has now gone, it is still a beautiful place to visit and on a nice day, sit in the peaceful setting of the Oval Lake.

A real mixed bag. Firstly the general car park is a little way from the house. Although not busy , it is recommended you book before you go. If you are not a historic house member then entrance fee at £25 is a bit steep. However the house itself inside is superb (less said about the outside the better, though insipid would be a good word). There is some wonderful art, porcelain and furniture in the house. The guides in the room , although few , are very knowledgeable. Let's be perfectly honest the house is the best part, the lake where princess Diana is buried is nice enough , but there are no real gardens to speak of , and very little on Princess Diana. If you are hoping for a shrine to her , you will no longer find it here. There is a distinctly poor gift shop , which seems intent on supplying Charles Spencer books than offering any variety. The cafe is passable but won't blow your mind. In summary , go for the beautiful house as there is little else here.

Lovely house in picturesque well kept grounds, wild deer roaming around and loads of history to the house and family, the island where Diana laid to rest is a nice place for a sit down and to rest and reflect. great day out when it’s open, and Earl Spencer appears for book signings in the gift shop, highly recommended.

Ample car parking just outside the main estate gates in a field. A short walk through an avenue of oak trees to the stable block where there is a cafe, outside seating , toilets and a gift shop. Then another short walk to the main house, there are guides in the rooms and there is a lot to see on 2 levels. There are extensive grounds with the Princess Diana memorial by the Oval lake. The gardens are nice and lovely views over the Northamptonshire Countryside. A lot of history here and everything was well signed and easy to get around. There are picnic tables but no BBQs are allowed. Glad we went and would advise to buy tickets ahead of the visit.

This was our first visit to Althorp House and we loved it! The house is in immaculate condition and has some stunning paintings, including a few unexpected contemporary ones as well. The grounds are well kept and the memorial to Princess Diana is quite special to see.
However, we were slightly disappointed to find that the vast majority of the grounds are closed off to the public, it would be nice to have been able to explore a bit more of it rather than just the bit round the lake (which you could cover within 20 minutes at a steady walking pace). Having said that, we still enjoyed our visit, the guides in the house were friendly and knowledgeable, the staff in the shop and cafe were efficient and friendly too.
Just be warned that the car park is across the road in a field, though I think there is a provision for disabled parking nearer the house but check their website for confirmation of this.
A good day out for the family and despite some of the little disappointments, we look forward to visiting again when the house is next open.

Thank you for continuing to open your home to us Earl Spencer, and allowing me to pay my respects to Dianas memorial at your families ancestral home. Althorp is wonderfully kept; walking around, you feel the history and love of the place immensely. The house and grounds are immaculate. The rooms of the house are intuitively, tastefully decorated and treasured with antiques, inspiration at every turn. I hope Althorp continues to be loved by the family for centuries to come. The Spencer ancestors would have immense pride in Charles’ work here.

Gulliver's Land Theme Park Resort is a traditional amusement park that caters to families and children aged 2-13. The park features numerous rides, shows, and play areas for all ages to enjoy. Visitors can experience classic attractions such as carousels, roller coasters, and ferris wheels while also exploring themed sections of the park such as Adventure World and Discovery Bay.
Quick advice, buy the tickets ahead you'd save a fair amount. 👍 Gullivers land is such a delight for families who have more than one under 10 kid. It's not for older children, but we have a 6 year old and a 4 year old. So as you can imagine we didn't skip a single ride! There was soft play areas for babies, sandpits, lots of climbing frames. The food courts were amazing too for a theme park, with many halal options (to whom this applies). There was a selection from fish and chips, to burgers, grills, to chips. Fab honestly. We spent a good 5 hours there. Its definitely a good day out for one or two family groups. We had a blast.

This family destination might seem fun and interesting at first, but seems that no investments were made through the years to keep it to a high standard, lots of statues are chipped and dirty, they should look seriously into improving their maintenance of the entire resort to bring it back to life.
There are many activities for older children, but for my 4 years old daughter wasn't that much to do, therefore spend only 2 hours including our lunch.
Food court should be improved as well.
Don't think we will be back again, sorry, not worth the money. There are better options available somewhere else at other parks
Attached are the best pictures we took on our visit

Value for money, great for kids around 2-12.
Queues were no to bad on a summer holiday weekend.
Park itself is not huge, all rides very close together. Food court and slushies etc available.
Issue is cleanliness around rides/park, it really could do with a little TLC. It is not nice when waiting in queue and you have cobwebs touching your face.
The park could do with a revamp, looks a bit outdated.
Nevertheless the kids enjoyed it, and it’s great value for money.

Very nice experience for the whole family. Will come again in the future. Good selection of rides for kids above 90 cm tall. It was worth the one hour drive. Managed to get parking as well (nearly full the car park). Used blue light discount. Good vibes.

Visited Gulliver's Land in Milton Keynes. It caters towards younger kids so the rides are not too extreme. The place felt dated and looked like it needed a refurbishment in lots of areas. The toilets were very dirty and needed to be cleaned more often. There was only one dryer working in the toilets. On the plus side, the queues were not that long for the rides and they offer concessionary tickets which allow queue jumping. Overall, I would say there are better theme parks.

We had a brilliant time here, was our first time visiting and we were not disappointed! I have a 2,7,9 and 13 year old and they all had so much fun!! So much to choose from, plenty of rides for everyone, we took a picnic so can't comment on the food, but the kids wanted to go in the sweet shop at the end of the day and well.. took a life time and £30 later to get them out haha! Also plenty of ice cream and much needed coffee stalls! Staff very friendly and helpful, plenty of toilets around. I very much recommend to all families!

Lovely place to take kids aged 4-15 great day out filled with plenty activities for all ages. Queues can be quite long I'd advise book at a quiet time to get the most out of your day. Staff are friendly and helpful place is clean and great atmosphere. Will definitely revisit.

Alittle nervous after reading negative reviews. But I had such a great day!! Prices much cheaper than merlin theme parks , not overly fancy but clean and just what you need for a nice day out. Smallish theme park, all rides next ti each other which is great don't have to walk around too much to get to the next ride, it was a Saturday in summer holidays and not much ques apart from the log flume. Nice grass areas and benches to have lunch, few soft plays dotted around. And most importantly FREE PARKING!!
My daughter went on a total of 10 rides.
Taste This Now — Google review
If you want to waste your whole day queueing then this is the place to go to. Thank god we paid very little due to the discounts we got otherwise I would have walked out and asked for refund honestly takes 30min to 1h of queueing per ride we just gave up in the end. The 2 stars above are purely because on the day we went they decided to extend opening time by 1h which gave us the chance to go on few more rides otherwise 1 star is too much for this place nonetheless I do not recommend this place Of course people are still going to come here specially the British because they love paying money to queue but for me I’m OUT PERMANENTLY. Worst thing is a live walking distance from it so every time I go past it I’ll think about the 5h of my life I wasted queueing here which I’ll never get back and that hurts more than the money I spend. ADIOS

Convenient to visit as I live only 10 miles away, place looks like it could do with a lick of paint and a bit of a spruce up but that should have been done over the winter months when they were closed.Disappointed with digger land as most of the diggers and cranes were not in moveable working order and crazy golf also. Good time of the year to visit as still pretty quiet so hardly any queues and when there was it would be 5 minutes at the most. The only thing I brought was a cup of tea inside the park £2.75! Hot dogs £6.95(way too expensive) slush puppies £2.50. Plenty of seating and picnic tables and restaurants.

We visited here and stayed for the night in a pirate cabin. As we booked for the night we got entry to the park for two days. Price was around £350 for five of us. The cabin was clean and had a microwave and fridge but no television. Wifi was supposed to reach the area we stayed in but it never did, despite best efforts.
The park is probably (in our view) best suited to younger children. Our 11 year old and 14 year old didn't have much to go on yet the four year old had stacks to choose from. So definitely would recommend for a younger family.
The lines for food in the park went on for about an hour so either get food earlier than you normally would or bring your own!
Staff all seemed very friendly. I would take the time to return with my youngest.

There was a lovely lady doing the disco who again had the patience of a saint !
I had a issue with the room I was given ( no issue of the resort I booked a room that was to small) without a blink of an eye the resolved it in less than 60 seconds !
The boys can't wait to return and neither can I!!!

We took our son for his 2nd birthday and his siblings aged 13 and friend aged 10, they all had a fantastic day. All of them had lots of fun but I would say that it is best suited to children 3-11 the most. They did all have a great time though.

We did an overnight stay at Lodge.
Lodge: Loved the surroundings, the atmosphere, the cabin. Went with a friend and his family so thought when booking we'd be side by side but this wasn't the case. However, we were three cabins away so wasn't too bad. Our main issue was the toilet/shower which we had to get the maintenance man in. We felt disgusted using the toilet/shower after seeing the shower drain overflow with previous mess (dirt, hair) but soldiered on as it was only for a night. The cabin itself was nice and comfortable with TV, fridge, microwave, kettle and spacious fir 6 of us. Note, it was advertised as having space for 6 using fold out sofa which we didn't use due to the hassle.
Gullivers Land Theme Park: Having a 12 yr old autistic child, a 13 yr old and 5 yr old, loved it. Plenty of rides and things for kids to do. It wasn't overcrowded and the SEN provision was amazing. Staff were engaging and supportive with those with SEN/Disability access passes. Food wasn't great and quite expensive but you expect this.
Dinosaur Land: Kids loved it. They were intrigued with the Dinosaurs, enjoyed the few rides there, loved the reptile section (lizards, snakes, tarantula's), the climbing wall and also - the cuddle corner where they held the rabbits and also saw the sheep, cows, lama, pony's etc.
Overall - very enjoyable experiance and would defo recommend.

MK Snozone is an indoor ski slope complex offering ski and snowboard lessons, group parties and kids' programmes. The staff are always friendly and communicative, ensuring that every lesson goes smoothly. In addition, instructor Matt is fantastic - patient, calm and attentive during the lessons, he helped son reach a new level up. Additionally, Josh - who looks after the children's programmes - was also great with son.
Excellent real snow slope, had an absolutely amazing time on the snow slopes with family and friends, very family friendly atmosphere, total blast, my kids loved it too. Highly recommend this activity, you can't beat real snow slopes, however this gets you as close to the real snow experience as possible without leaving the country. The facility as a whole is fabulous, lots to do.

Took my boy sledding the other day and he loved it. It is like disappearing into another world, a pretty cold one, but great fun. A bit more comfort in the seated area would be great. More activities for the kids, like an arcade or a play area beyond the hamster-sized soft play would be great. They definitely have the space! Best to shop around to get kitted out, as it can get pricey!

I always love this place - great value and is always a fun time! Ski and boot rental is always efficient, and the staff are always ready to help. Only one small issue was that the lift kept stopping from all the beginners, which caused a long queue, however it was to be expected. Halfway through they opened up the second lift, which resolved the problem brilliantly and had a great last hour! I really recommend it for beginners or people who need to practice before hitting the slopes! Thanks for a great day out :)

Real snow and decet size, you can have fun there, and it's also a great place for kids to learn. They have classes for children at different levels, book online. The only issue with classes is you should book in advance, you may have to wait a few weeks for a particular class. The waiting area is big and there is a cafe. You can also rent all the gear on the spot.

We really enjoyed our visit to snozone, we went on a weekend and it wasn’t too busy. The slope was wide and spacious so you have lots of room if you’re learning or perfecting your technique.
The snow felt quite sticky under the ski’s and there were a few random icy patches on the slope which can’t always be avoided but a little extra caution needed to be taken for beginners.

Good learner experience for my 11 year old. Snowboarding levels 1-4 being taught by instructor Archie. It’s a shame the teaching earlier is almost out of view for parents that attend to watch from the cafe. Facilities are great, equipment in good condition and friendly staff. I’d of preferred if the groups were maybe 4 or 5 people instead of 6 for more time to practice but it is what it is. We shall return for sure 🏂

Although it is not very crowded, it is very good that there is a real snow, the presence of such a place is very successful, the washbasin and dressing rooms were very clean and hygienic. I did a level 1 & 2 lesson which lasted 3 hours. The instructor was very knowledgeable and encouraging.
As the lesson went on he differentiated the class so that everyone was improving on what they had achieved so far. I was happily surprised at how much I developed in the time and came away with a card listing all the skills I had gained and what lesson level to try next to move forward.
All equipment was included in the price. I just needed to wear long trousers and sleeves (I wore a thin layer plus waterproof trousers and jacket so as not to get too hot when exercising).

Thought I'd try the Milton Keynes slope after visiting the Snow Dome at Tamworth many times, the size of the slopes is larger, longer and good to have button lifts over a escalator. I did feel the snow didn't quite flow as well here and mainly felt more sticky especially the lower third down you went. Possibly the chemicals used or down to the hired ski's, although saying that a friend was on his own board and made the same comment of how 'sticky' it felt.

Not skied in 27 years so needed to test muscle memory
Slope is obviously not huge, and the bottom definitely flattens out a lot. Snow is a little sticky, But the skiing is worth it. Had an exceptional time skied without being rushed for 4 hours. Highly recommend it if you prepping to go away or (as my daughter did) taking lessons. She did the 8 hour plough to parallel course and I was really impressed. Instructor gradually built the technique explaining fully. End result my daughter was skiing really well ready for our ski trip
Food is a little meh in the cafe. But everyone’s we met was super helpful and nice
Price wise think it was great value. My session was £45 all in (with skis, boots and helmet). Daughter was £200 and included all equipment, lunch and instruction! Bargain !

ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, situated on the scenic Chiltern Hills in Dunstable, Bedfordshire spans over 600 acres and houses a diverse range of more than 2500 animals including lions, tigers, camels, elephants and penguins. The biggest zoo in the UK is owned by the Zoological Society of London and offers tours, adventure play areas and classes to visitors.
Adore this Zoo. My little girl absolutely loves going here. Something new to see every time as you can never see it all in one day.
The park is fantastic! So much to do for all ages there. Very well thought out and places. Train rides are fantastic, but are at an extra cost. We have annual passes, which if you are local I would recommend, as you only need to go a few times to have more than made your money.
I got my partner the Giraffe experience for his birthday and it was amazing. He loved it so much! A bit pricey, but so worth it.

Nice zoo, we spent a full day on a Sunday.
It's massive on extension so be prepare to walk a lot.
Some animals are difficult to see, we struggled to see with bears, cheetah died so no cheetah.
There are tables for picnic so better to take your own food.
Missing some other animals such as snakes, insects, that will be nice to see too

Lovely zoo experience as always. If you can it's worth the walk around to see the native animals and scenery.
Zoo staff and volunteers lovely, friendly, and knowledgeable.
Well worth many visits.

Fantastic zoo, very spacious with plenty of benches to rest on. Greats views. My daughter also enjoyed the summer activities, making a flower bomb and playing in the Dennis the menace area as well as the carousel (£3 extra). My daughter's favourite was the baby elephant and zebra. Would highly recommend eating in base camp, as it has a large seating area and a good menu.

Loved our day here with the kids! Well worth a visit, plenty of animals to see from elephants to lemurs! Really nice play area for the kids, plenty of restaurants to eat and ice cream shops. Overall a lovely day out would definitely go again.

Good variety of different animals and plenty of open space. The only hindering factor depends on the time of year one visits. Since we went in winter many of the animals were not in their enclosures which negatively impacts value for money as less animals can be seen. Regardless it's definitely ideal for families.

Our children were fascinated by the animals. We were delighted to see the cheetahs, lions and tigers - it’s not always possible to see the big cats!
We took scooters which made the distance of the zoo easier to cover. We also enjoyed the train ride and the beautiful pink blossom!
A fabulous day out!

As with everywhere prices are going up and Whipsnade is no exception with an adult ticket now priced around £30.75. This makes their yearly membership much more attractive. As you need to go 3 or 4 times in the year to break even so to speak. Plus three membership covers London zoo as well.
The zoo is running Easter extras including a 'egg' hunt which is looking for egg boards with a chance to win a years gold membership. This was useful for my children to encourage them round the entire site!
It is a large site and walking shoes are definitely recommended but this means that even when it is busy you have space.
It was good to see the lions which are in loan to ZSL and hopefully Whipsnade will manage to get some of their own to replace the ones they lost in due course.
The biggest attraction for my children is always the butterfly house and crocodiles but everyone has their own favourites!
As with anything if you want to keep your costs down take your own food.
A highly recommended day out!

Whipsnade Zoo is a really brilliant place to spend a day, lots to see and do. Highly recommend a visit. I went on the Elephant experience which was superb again highly recommend booking this informative experience especially if you love Elephants like I do. We opted to pay for driving the car around which was great and made getting around so easy especially for people with mobility issues as it is a big place to walk around with so much to see that having the car really helped. The views around the Zoo are beautiful. If you want a fun and interesting day out go to the Zoo. A baby elephant due anytime so that will be lovely to see when baby arrives.

Really is an amazing zoo, be prepared and get your walking shoes on as this place is huge! Indoor children's area is great for the kids and is free but will need to book in advance! Overall amazing day out with the family.

It's a great place to visit in a summer afternoon.
We reached around 2pm and most of the school kids were preparing to leave, so we pretty much had the zoo to ourselves. The zoo is very big and well organized, and the map is very helpful in helping us navigate around. Loved the free roaming wallabies. Penguins, tiger and lions are the ones that one must check out!

This is the best zoo I've ever visited. We took 2 young children and they loved it. Be prepared to do a lot of walking - but it is well worth it. So many animals to see, it's a job to fit it all in.
All facilities were clean and tidy, as was the whole site. I recommend paying the extra to take your car in - it allows you to drive around the deer park, which was fantastic. The bird show is not to be missed.

Took my grandkids here for the day. What a great zoo
Just fantastic
We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the zoo. Some
Animals were still fast asleep when first arrived But came out later on.
Fully fully recommend
Worth the money and the visit

My boyfriend and I spent the day exploring the zoo. We had a great time. We both enjoyed seeing hippos for the first time. We were impressed with the enclosures - especially the rhino one. With many of the enclosures the views were not obstructed by the fencing which made it feel less like a zoo. As we were visiting on a Monday in November the catering facilities were limited. We saved a bit of money buying our tickets in advance.

It is a really lovely zoo. It feels more like a safari the animals have lots of places. The view is amazing after or before you visit the bears. It has a nice playground for the children. We really liked the bird show.
The food is basic nothing special, The zoo is still under development.
We spent a great afternoon there and really enjoyed it.

It's such an amazing zoo! It's the largest UK zoo, featuring over 2,500 animals!
I would recommend booking in advance and come early to have enough time to see all animals. There is plenty of free parking right in front of the entrance, but they also offer paid spaces inside. Make sure you wear comfortable footwear as the zoo is quite big and there is lots of walking.
They have a few 'animal talks' during the day where you can hear interesting facts about animals. We managed to catch the one about lions and see the animals. I would definitely recommend seeing them as well as elephants, giraffes, rhinos , there so many animals you can see there!
There are some additional activities, as well as some benefits if you have membership. There is a lot of fun for kids as well - carousel, petting zoo, as well as a learning hub centre where they organise group visits for schools.
You can have a meal at a few restaurants and cafes or bring your own food and use the picnic area. There are plenty of toilets around the zoo as well.
I would definitely recommend visiting!

Oh my gosh I think this is probably the best Zoo I have ever been to. I enjoyed it so much, we went as a family and it was really incredible. The park was laid out with different continents to explore, with loads of ‘walk through’ experiences where you could be in the enclosures with some of the tame animals. There was lots of unique animals that I had never seen before, such as two types of Rhino, Hippos and a butterfly enclosure which was such a great experience. Even on a cold day it was so nice. They had lots of talks around the park which you could get information from. Felt very kid-friendly also, with lots of parks and buggy/wheelchair accessible areas. Still an awesome place for an adult to come also.

Me and my 7 year old son absolutely love this place! So much so, that we have had a Gold member annual pass for 5 years so far. We visit at least 6/7 times a year. It’s such a huge, beautiful place and the animals are obviously very well cared for.
The childrens playpark is huge and there is definitely enough to keep the kids entertained what with the soft play and hands on farm all in the same vicinity.
The train takes you on a lovely little guided tour of the zoo for a small fee and you get to see some of the animals which you might not see on foot.
We also love the little wallaby’s that are free roaming around the grounds of the zoo. Especially when it’s Joey season :)
The animal talks are great to watch, we particularly enjoy the Bird chat as the parrots fly right over your head! Also if you time it right you get to see some of the animals being fed…the chimps are by far the most interesting to see in this event.
The butterfly house is a delight, so many beautiful butterflies which literally can land on your shoulder. You can also see them hatching out of cocoons.
The only advise I would give is to wear very comfy shoes and bring a packed lunch or snacks as the food is very pricey as you would expect.
All in all, a fantastic place to visit!

Great family day out, lots to explore. You feel like you can freely explore whichever animal you wish to see first there is no set route. You can get quite close to a lot of them. The butterfly and aquarium are brilliant. Lots of refreshments and food options available.

My wife and I took our 2 boys here recently for the day and we loved it. It is set in a beautiful setting as some of the views are outstanding. It is a big zoo with plenty of space, but it still has plenty of animals to see. There are plenty of places for kids to let off steam. We will definitely go back.

The best zoo I've ever been to- I really enjoyed the butterfly area and the petting zoo! There's so much for all the family to do here and the staff were super welcoming.
Definitely recommend spending the whole day there since it is a very big place- there is an option to drive around the park which is really handy especially for those with disabilities.
And the view from the top of the hill was amazing, the perfect spot to eat ice cream with the penguins.
I spent the entire day and I still don't think I saw everything! There is always more to see so I will definitely be revisiting!

Me and my two boys (2&6) LOVE Whipsnade Zoo!!!
We have membership, and it's totally worth it as we are there all the time.
We love seeing all the different animals and learning lots about them. And having the freedom to run around in the fresh air.
Absolutely great day out for all ages!

It's definitely worth a visit. Highlight of our trip away (two big kids). Large are but pretty flat and buggy accessible. Able to get quite close to the animals. Parking was plentiful and not far from the entrance. Train around the Africa area reasonably priced.
Food is dear for what you get but that is expected in a zoo. Most of the good food is around basecamp with a few pop up stalls in other areas. Would also recommend the information guide. Worth a visit!

Such a great experience, took our grandson for the day. The staff were so friendly and informative. Very clean and the animals seemed well cared for. The butterfly house was an unexpected surprise.
Lots of walking at a leisurely pace and the train ride was enjoyable.
Several very good play areas for the young ones. A great day out. Parking free opposite the entrance.

This zoo is amazing. There are wallabies just roaming free round the zoo. It is a clean zoo and the animals have amazing enclosures. They have plenty of space. You can get so close to the animals it is incredible. You can easily spend all day there. There are that many animals to see that we didn't manage to see them all. Take a picnic as the food is a little pricey but this does not take away from the zoo itself. The staff were so friendly. Especially in the butterfly House and the Bird display. How close you can get to the giraffes and elephants is incredible. Beautifully looked after. We travelled 2 and a half hours to visit this zoo and it absolutely didn't disappoint. If you have little ones definately take a pushchair. X

Recommend a visit in warm weather and not in half term.
Visited during half term. The free/exterior car park was closed due to the rainy weather and so we had to queue to enter the site in our cars, which took about 20 mins.
Due to half term, there was barely any parking available.
The zoo does not appear to be designed for the cold/rainy weather season and lacks paths for pedestrians.
There are very few solid paths on the outer enclosures which meant that we had to wade through slushy, muddy grass.
The zoo is slacking on services for visitors such as coffee/food kiosks. The cold weather would have been bearable with a hot drink or too, however all of the kiosks were closed.
The zoo is great for the animals as all the enclosures are huge and spacious for them.
The zoo lacks somewhat for guests, due to limited viewing areas to see the animals and the fact that these are set far back from the paddocks.
However it is definitely worth a visit, due to the large variety of animals, including the farm animal area, which I definitely recommend for younger children as they can get close enough to stroke the animals as oppose to the other parts of the zoo.

Me and my mum had an awesome day out today and we saw animals (whom were all mostly asleep) but we managed to see a ton of animals and it was an awesome experience for the both of us and it was rather enjoyable and a ton of fun.
My favourite animals that I loved seeing best were the giraffes, zebras and the flamingos! It was great to actually go up to the viewing platform to see the giraffes 🦒 and was awesome to see the zebras through the glass 🦓
It was an amazing day out on the whole and we managed to make a day of it.
The cafe, shop, aquarium and butterfly park were wicked, it was awesome 😁

This is one of our favourite zoo, located of the M1 junction 9 as you drive from London.
The place is consist in a wide animal diversity, plenty of space to walk, picnic tables and beautiful view.
You can drive your car inside like a safari at extra cost but is really worth it!
There is an indoor soft play Lullabazoo which you can only book your slot online!
Outdoor playgrounds for children with picnic tables around.
A beautiful train ride throughout the zoo for £3/person.
Depending on the day and time you visit can be traffic on the approach!
Highly recommended!

Good variety of different animals and plenty of open green space.
The only bad factor is depends on the time of year one visits.
Since we Was last Sunday , many of the animals were not in their enclosures which negatively impacts value for money.
Regardless it's definitely ideal for families with children’s.

We have had a fantastic experience in the zoo. We managed to see all the animals and wildlife we loved except the bear were hiding too far away. We were impressed by the warm butterflies dome. The setting was organised and well look after. The toilets were clean. We had a great time on the day, thank you! Highly recommended for family outing.

Had a lovely day out, very lucky to see pretty much all of the animals! Especially enjoyed the baby rhino and elephants. Not too busy mid-week, and stopped for an afternoon snack at the restaurant that was open. The train was a fun extra and went to a few of the daily talks.

This is an amazing zoo, so much to see, hours of fun. If you decide to walk around, make sure you have some comfortable footwear as this is a big zoo and well spread out (there is the option of taking your car in). There is plenty of free parking, a zoo shop and a variety of food and drink places. Shelters are also available for those with their own food.

We had a fantastic family day at the zoo! It’s a vast place with wonderfully spacious habitats for the animals, although the diversity of species was somewhat lacking. The train ride didn’t quite hit the mark. While it’s not the top zoo we’ve visited—it certainly has room for improvement—it’s far from the worst. A solid four-star experience.

Our first visit to Whipsnade.
My daughter was very keen to see the Asian elephants. She was not disappointed!
Great to see these beautiful animals up close.
A shame we couldn't spot the brown bear today.
I definitely recommend bringing your own food/drink as the various cafes etc. Were quite busy.
The aquarium and butterfly house was lovely. We enjoyed trying to spot the different reptiles and seeing the conservation work going on. Lots of steps done today!

A great day out for all! The zoo is spread over a large area, but they allow cars to enter for a fee which can help if you're visiting with young children.
There are a choice of eateries around the zoo and coffee shops for those cooler days.
The animals are well looked after in great sized enclosures, with enrichment to maintain their mental stimulation.
Members enjoy great discounts on food/drinks and also the many experiences on offer at the zoo (keeper for the day; overnight stays etc).
Bletchley Park was the site of World War Two code-breaking, and today it's an important heritage attraction with a good museum.
A great exhibition of life behind the scenes of the propaganda machines of the world.
Regardless of your thoughts on a war, this is a great story of humans solving problems, interactive, informative and worth a days ramble around the site.
We'd just like to thank everyone for an outstanding day, my daughter bought a Virgin Experience ticket for myself (I have been trying to get here for the last many years), we popped in at 12:00, bought a guide book (which turned out to be back to front, I liked that more, followed the form of Bletchley), we then left at 17:10 (apologies), our guide was amazing, informative, humorous and got the group working, 14:00 tour, 24/03/21.
We were so pleased that Bletchley Park staff/volunteers all seem to enjoy their work and it is noticeable.
Thanks again for a great visit.

It was my first time at Bletchley. The history was fascinating. The tour guide option is worthwhile as it is a confusing array of buildings although a map is provided. There were lots of interactive displays and lots of personal lived experiences narrated. I was surprised at how well maintained the house is with lots of arts and crafts designed woodwork, ceilings and plasterwork. The cafe was pleasant and efficient too. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely amazing day. Very very interesting place, all the staff and volunteers were great, filled with loads of passion and knowledge and willing to share all of it. 5hrs it took to go round and I will be visiting again to learn much more. I thank all the staff and volunteers for keeping this history and memories alive from the gate on the way in, through buying the tickets, all around the the park, the restaurant (hut 4) the shop and on the way out. I will remember today forever.

A really fascinating place to visit, more of a focus around the Enigma machine of course. We found that unlike other war museums there is less here about uniforms, weapons, medals etc which is a nice difference.
We visited on one of the hottest days in summer, so some rooms/buildings were incredibly hot. It goes to show the kinds of conditions they would have been working in at a time of war too, humbling.
I also particularly liked the art exhibition focusing on data. There were a few that you could contribute to.
Lots of green spaces, so great for a picnic if you bring your own lunch or snacks.

An excellent day out. Hard to believe we were there from opening time (10am) until closing time (4pm). Worth signing up for the free walking guided tour (outside). The headsets cover much of the same. Walking tour lasts for about an hour. Lunch in hut 4 - pretty good selection. A lot to see and your tickets are valid for a year to return anytime. Free on site parking or train station a couple of hundred metres away.

The tour guide gave us a very interesting view of the place and the story, which is always welcome. The family audio guide for children is welcome but not enough to keep them interested, despite the embedded games. Maybe some scoring board system or progress bar would have helped -"getting hired as a secret agent" thing. The interactive screens scattered in the huts do a far better job at keping them interested.

Loved our visit which has been known a must visit for ages. We arrived @11am & left 4 hours later not having seen all the exhibits. Some will br more useful than others data capturing is not my thing but loved being in yhr place where history was being made. We tried out hut 4 cafe for lunch..very tasty & also the free guided tour. It would be helpful to explain the guided tour is just outdoors not around the exhibitions & and for us it was a bit long winded & too detailed. Looking fwd to the new exhibitions they are planning and will definitely return. Highly recommended for junior school kids & upwards.

Bletchley Park was the UK biggest secret during WWII. It still remains one of the best secrets as a place to visit.
If you thought the movies were good you really need to visit Bletchley and see how really amazing the truth actually is. It is totally staggering what they did in those small huts.
But what is great about Bletchley in 2022 is that they have restored the site, and kept the 1940’s feel of the whole site. Everything from the huts to the cafes and toilets are in theme. There are lots of video, interactive and information to make it a great visit.
As other people have said keep the tickets, they are valid for a year. It may take 2 or 3 visits if you want to read everything.
One of the best sites in the UK to visit, even my partner who hates “war stuff” loved it.

Attracting visitors from all around the world, Bletchley Park has something for everyone, from absolute novices who don't know anything about WW2 to certified expert military historians. You can have the self guided tour with headphones and commentary in different languages, or pay extra for a human guided tour, which is probably going to be the best experience. There are original enigma machines, along with replicas of various other code breaking devices. The site isn't too big, so you can walk it all. There are lifts / elevators next to most staircases and access ramps everywhere, too, so older visitors are looked after. There is an impressively sized gift shop, with almost everything you can think of, including Bletchley Park gin, beer, puzzles, t shirts, etc... there are a few cafes, indoor and outdoor seating and picnic tables. The short movie clips they play in the cinema room are very informative and well put together, and the original huts with 1940s furniture are particularly impressive. There's plenty of parking and lots of staff on hand to help.

Lovely historical building, absolutely a must visit for anyone with an interest in the Enigma machine, and the first ever built Alan Touring world computer. This is a fascinating place that transcends history with the great display of artifacts used during WW2. Highly educational, and a great day out for anyone. Open Monday to Sunday, from 09:30 am to 17:30 pm. Paid parking available, wheelchair access, and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Good day out with friends and family. If you get there when it opens and leave when it closes there is loads of history on codebreakers and enigma to see. There is a cafe, pond and all the machines that they used. Some of the machines are interactive with lots of touchscreen tablets so good for young children. (Under 12s go free).

Visited on a Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Arrived as it opened at 9.30am and no queues, was recommended to take the included 1hr tour of the grounds with a guide (book at the information desk) and that was really informative.
Cafe and restaurant on site, food was very tasty with reasonable prices (London influenced?) and in the end we spent over 6 hours there. Believe we saw most of not everything but you could definitely spend longer there.
Great thing with the tickets is that within the next 12 months you can return again as many times as you want, so excellent value.

If the allied code breaking exploits during WW2 is of interest then this is the place. Lots of information about code breaking with interactive exhibits sprinkled in. Options of going along the guided talks or going solo. If you chose the latter, don't forget to pick up one of audio description packs (you can bring your own headphones if you wish). A great day out for the whole family.

Went on a school trip, Amazing visit. The mansion and huts really make you feel like you were one of the code breakers. The vehicles were very interesting, you had some which were used during working hours, then you had one caravan used in the 2000's. Would visit again.

Overall, it isn't as good as it used to be, because Colossus is no longer included as an exhibit and they didn't make this clear at all. Also, the Winston Churchill room no longer exists.
They have improved what they do have, including a very good video when you walk in and a cinema area with another good video.
£7.99 for the bath ducks in the gift shop is a rip off, but other items in the shop were valued okay.
The children's playground needs some more items. It would also be good to have learning material in the museum for young children.

I had a really great experience. The site was well kept, lots of good modern exhibits, guided tours by volunteers and generally a lot of WW2 history. There is a play park and eating areas too. The tickets are valid for a year allowing for return visits. Well worth a visit.

A very immersive experience. So much information about very dedicated people with pictures around the buildings making it more personal . A lot to see and interact with . There are facilities to eat and sit down. Benches outside around the lake are a welcome break from the huts. One can only imagine what an 8 hour shift was like ! A lovely day out 😊

Visited on their 1940s weekend, it was really nice to see and hear all the different period clothing and gear. Bletchley Park as a museum was informative and interesting but not my cup of tea. Felt it was like reading an uninspiring textbook, very knowledgeable but rather tedious which, is why I suspect the ques for the few interactive exhibits were long.
Joseph Pinter — Google review
Very interesting place of historical significance. If you already know the history there isn't that much more to learn, and there is a lot of repetition. It's still great to see it all in person. Do follow the suggested order on the map, it really helpful and goes in a good order to understand the timelines.
Sadly, It's a bit on the expensive side and the food is very pricey so maybe bring a picnic and sit by the pond, it's a very charming spot.
I think very young children might not enjoy it but slightly older or teens may find it diverting enough if they like museum. There are lots of interactive displays dotted around. We spent about 2 hours here, so wear comfy shoes.

We had a great day at Bletchley Park! Even the security were happy and informative. All the staff were really helpful and polite.
We went on a tour which was 1 hour and it went so quickly, his name was John. An hour wasn't long enough tp talk about all the amazing things that happened there.
The exhibits were interesting, some were interactive. I liked the fact it told you how long until the next showing of a clip or movie. The D Day movie was great.
Pros: great day out, good shop, informative tour guide, good facilities.
Cons: expensive food (no peas, as they run out!), I'd like to see more of the mansion set up to how it would have been,
Overall a great day out and you get visit as many times as you like for 12 months after your visit which does include some events.

So much history so many unsung heroes and so little time. I was a bit time poor today but really wanted to visit this bastion of WW2 secret war winning legend. I got a taxi to the Park from Milton Keynes Central station with a quick stop at the hotel on the way. Driver agreed to pick me up there 3hours later and I was not disappointed. It is only a short walk from Bletchley station however and not much more from Bletchley Town Centre. This venue is very wheelchair friendly and is packed with information. The staff are incredible and go out of their way to make the visit special. As usual I spent too much in the gift shop but just couldn't resist as the items for sale are very relevant and not the usual fare. A gentle stroll around the grounds takes you through the actual buildings where democracy was saved by dedicated people who worked tirelessly to glean the intentions of the Nazis and give the allies the upper hand from early on. Without these heroes the world might be a different place today. The grounds are kept in immaculate condition and there is even a play area for the children, however on my visit many of the kids were enthralled by the interactive exhibits. A pair of older children (early twenty somethings) were having a great time trying on some of the authentic 40s apparel supplied for the purpose. Photography without flashes is welcome and the cake and tea I had in hut 4 was superb. There are guided and self media assisted tours available but I chose to go it alone as I'm familiar with the history. I would recommend this as a must see activity.

History at its best. We didn't realise how big the site was and how much information was available regarding the very important,if not crucial, work that was carried out leading up to and very much during the 2nd world war. You could easily spend two days here and still find things to read and discover. There are interactive code breaking opportunities for both children and adults, just a bit of fun for us but could well have saved lives during the war, well worth a go!!! Food was also available from a couple of sites and plenty of space for picnics if the weather is nice particularly around the lake in front of the house. Tours are available but get in early to book as they fill up quickly, if you miss those though, don't worry as a full audio guide is available and is very well put together and informative. Good disabled access too. Have a great time code breaking!!!!

The history of the site is presented in really interesting ways with quite a few interactive options along the way. The site is huge & fairly sure we missed bits 🤦 there was also work going on up at the house so it was covered in scaffolding so I'm really glad that the tickets are valid for 12 months so we'll be able to go back 📷😎

Excellent museum - held my kids attention for 3 hours (11 and 13) which is no mean feat. The 13 year old asked to visit after learning about Alan Turing at school. The exhibits are structured in a very accessible way and there is a nice balance between human stories and the more technical story of the code breaking. Would highly recommend, book in advance, allow for 3-4 hours - there is a lot to see.

Before traveling to London, friends of ours urged us to visit Bletchley Park where Britain’s most brilliant code breakers played a very critical role in helping to speed up the end of WW2 by one to two years by intercepting German transmissions that were being sent by secret coded messages. The guides who led the tours were well informed and touring the grounds was absolutely fascinating! We took a train to Bletchley Park and the trip from London took about an hour but it was the highlight of our vacation and well worth the excursion.

Very interesting. History of the second world war code breakers. Phenomenal people. The site is very well kept and clean and tidy. It does somewhat lack in exhibits and furniture. Lots of empty rooms with story boards

Lots to see and learn on this sprawling estate. The guides are very informative, although you do have the option of picking up your own "listening guide" if you're in a smaller group.
You can easily spend the whole day here and still not cover most things. I was so engrossed in learning about this place, I completely forgot to stop for lunch - don't make that mistake, as there's a wonderful café here

Brilliant, educational fascinating glimpse into the work that helped end WWII two years early. Well laid out with audio and visual aids. Suitable for wheelchair access but there is quite a large area to cover if you want to see it all. Small but adequate cafe and interesting gift shop

Bekonscot Model Village & Railway is a unique and charming attraction located in Buckinghamshire. It holds the title of being the oldest model village in the world, having been built in the late 1920s. The village spans across 1.5 acres of gardens and consists of seven model towns and villages connected by a detailed model railway.
My boyfriend took me here as I've never gone, I loved the placed, the houses and people were tiny and cute. It's an interesting place to go, especially with your children, they have playgrounds for them too. A cafe too, serving food and drinks plus ice cream 🍨. I would recommend this place for families or couples.

Considering the ticket price personally I felt it’s not value for money. Having said that, it’s well maintained the details are meticulously crafted on all the miniatures. It’s truly a model small village which typically any small town would look like. My favourite was the train running round the circuits every where, they were successful in creating magic around the trains and it even draws adults attracted to it. I would suggest if you have kids around 8-12 years they would enjoy this experience, otherwise you give a pass

Charming Model Village with Some Considerations
During my visit to Bekonscot Model Village & Railway, I experienced a unique and charming attraction. While the place itself is lovely and draws a crowd, I have mixed feelings about recommending it due to a few considerations.
One aspect that gave me pause was the entry ticket price, which I found to be on the higher side. Considering the overall experience and the time spent exploring the village, I felt that the value for money was not as high as expected.
Another point to note is the limited food options available nearby, particularly on weekends. If you plan to visit, it's essential to be aware of this and consider bringing snacks or finding alternative dining options in advance.
Despite these considerations, I want to express appreciation for the historical and creative effort that went into bringing Bekonscot Model Village & Railway to life. The level of detail and craftsmanship in the miniature structures and railways is commendable. It's evident that a lot of care and dedication went into creating this unique attraction.
If you have a particular interest in history, model villages, or railways, you may find Bekonscot Model Village & Railway to be an enjoyable experience.

Great day out. Every generation should visit at least twice in their lives. Once as a child, and again taking their own children to this magical world of times past. Nice cafe on site as well.

Cute place to visit, especially with kids. The ride in the small train at the beginning of the park is fun. It has a soft play area conveniently close to where ice cream is sold towards the end of the park. Worth a visit.

Awesome day out for babies/kids - we took our under 1 year old. Very educational and creative with a large variety of buildings/shops (hospital, bank, marks and Spencer, shoes shop, Mercedes Benz & many more!). Lots of colours and different sounds so a great sensory experience overall (bells from the church, mini trains running, boats, mini fairground ride, 1930s circus to name a few!). Highly recommend! It’s the type of place you can keep on visiting as you will always learn something new each time, and of course as your child grows you can ask them to share with you what they can see & hear.
Large space outdoors for eating. Cafe was great had plant-based milk so catered for vegans.

What a lovely day out. Took my 2 sons aged 2 & 5. Immaculately kept. Great for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Clean toilets and free parking. Nice gift shop too. The train ride was fantastic and we went on twice. The only negative was how very very expensive the cafe was and we decided to not eat there. This place exceeded my expectations. Would return again.

We visited in early November 2023, my wife and I and our 7yr old son absolutely loved it! So much to see, and the train ride is always fun for kids and adults alike. Highly recommend visiting, we spent around 2hrs and saw everything, some things twice.

It's a great place for families, with a playground cafe and plenty to see.
The entrance price is reasonable.
I found that some of the sections were a little tired with damaged figures and structures. This said, there is easy access around the village and places to sit and a viewing point.

A worth to visit place for everyone. Not a big place so you can finish looking around and enjoy this place within half an hour to an hour . The best part is the railway which remains running throughout the day. Kids love it. All the models look real and alive. Very few staffs but all friendly and helpful. They have a little children play area and really good space to take rest and enjoy some food and icecream(during summer), you can take your own food too.

Fascinating model village and railway. The attention to detail is second round none. Loved the humorous shop names and signs - and also the little humorous things to find and see. Go round a couple of times as you'll see something new each time. Parking at the church across the road is free - but it will get full at busy times. The café was not that great - and priced high. £2.80 for a tea-bag, paper cup, sachet of UHT milk and some hot water!!

You gotta love a model village!!... really nice little attraction tucked away in a little village of its own. Some of the models were a little run down, hence the 4 stars not 5, but absolutely worth a visit.

Well kept and interesting collection of model villages set in the 1930s. It has a lot of models of people inside and out of the buildings involved in many different activities, which is great fun to explore. There are activity sheets for children to encourage them (and the parents) to search for things. The train ride was fun too.

Bekonscot Model Village & Railway isn't just a destination for kids—it's a haven for the young at heart, an oasis of charm and nostalgia that leaves a lasting impression. With every step I took, I felt as though I was walking through a dream, and even as I left, I carried a piece of that enchantment with me, eager to revisit the miniature world that had captured my imagination.
As I walked through the gates of Bekonscot Model Village & Railway, I felt a sense of anticipation and excitement bubbling within me. The allure of stepping into a miniature world was irresistible, and little did I know that this visit would weave memories that would stay with me for a long time. The highlight, undoubtedly, was the intricate railway network that meandered through the village. As I stood by the tracks, I watched in amazement as the miniature trains chugged along, traversing bridges, tunnels, and scenic landscapes. It was as if I had shrunk down to their size, embarking on a journey through a world of enchantment.
The level of craftsmanship evident in every element was a testament to the dedication and passion of the creators. I found myself lost in the charm of it all, clicking pictures and discovering hidden gems around every bend. The meticulous detailing extended even to the smallest signs, shop fronts, and vehicles, which added authenticity to the experience. Highly recommended….!!!

Really worth a visit, we with our sons (2 and 9 yo) enjoyed walking in this beautiful place. It exceeded our expectations, we thought it was small but it was right how it should be, you can easily spend 2-2.5 hours with a short snack break (they have a small tea house inside).

Wonderful place to visit with small children. All the children here were so happy and interested. I’d say up to age 9 would find lots to like. There are really special details, including moving trains, cable cars, a coal mine, and even some of the people move. There are scenes inside shops, houses and churches. We stayed for 2 hours. There is free parking in the church car park opposite. I would recommend bringing picnic or packed lunches as cafe food certainly over-priced. But traditional ice-creams available too for treats.

Feel like a giant amongst these exceptional models. A cafe is also onsite should you fancy something to eat. Carpark is located to the side of the entrance. Allow a maximum of 2 hours.

A superb model village with lots of intricate details and eccentricities! A great day out for children and adults alike. Located close to the railway station and car parks a short distance away. There’s ample facilities on site and it’s the sort of place you can visit ten times over and still probably spot something you hadn’t seen before!

THIS place is OK could be abit more exciting .You only need around an hour and a half here and have to pay for a small train ride ,which I feel should be included in price. Please allow cash as well as children in gift shop want to spend their pocket money or penny's. A little girl had her money ready to pay and was all excited to pay with her own money and couldn't which is sad.Her mum paid on her card ,which takes the joy out of the child's visit.

This place is AMAZING for any age. Took 20 month old granddaughter yesterday we were there for 5 hours and she was never bored. Neither were we 🤣. Fantastic place to make memories. My husband 1st went over 50 years ago and still remembers it. A magical special place ❤️
Amazing experience! Everything was super organized. They have a Facebook page and a live departure board to keep you up to date with departure and if there are any cancellations. It felt very safe with the safety briefing and all the staff made you feel super welcome! Would highly recommend!

Extremely well run and very informative, Our host was able to answer all our questions and let us get up close and personal her beautiful the birds of prey, from the tiny Little Owl to the amazing African eagle. Having a Peregrine Falcon on you arm is an experience not to be missed, don't let this pass you by.

Gifted a 6 mile co pilot Buzz Flight from friends for my birthday. On arrival was able to upgrade to a 25 mile at a discounted rate with an added bonus of there being a spare seat for my partner also.
Had an amazing flight. Seeing the Sussex coastline from above was an absolute wonder. Pilot was very informative, pointing out local landmarks and telling us everything we needed to know about what was happening (height/speed etc) Thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend and would love to do it all again someday.

It was a pleasure for Captain Dan Wieringa to take myself and my partner Steven on our helicopter buzz flight he made our experience 10/10 as this was the first time we have ever been in a helicopter. Was booked for our 11 year anniversary but due to covid we had to wait 8 months but it was definitely worth the wait. Would definitely recommend!
Thank you Dan ”

This was simply one of the best experiences I've done. We set off from Manchester City Airport under the instruction of our Captain Michael - who was fantastic as our pilot and instructor. His instructions were calm, clear to follow and non-flustered, which when myself and two others doing the experience were in the pilot seat, were very much needed.😆 The experience was bought for me as a present, and when I received it I never thought I'd have been entrusted with so much control during the flight. Obviously, the main controls were operated by the captain but I was given the joystick and took us in the circuit we were doing. Each person had about 10/15 minutes in the pilot seat and taking the 'steering' of the helicopter. Absolutely fab time. You watch a safety video before getting on the helicopter and also will have your weight taken to estimate the fuel required. The admin staff were very nice and friendly too. Get there about 30 mins before your flight I'd say.

Some people may have had bad experiences, no doubt.
I had this as a gift for my belated birthday and trust me it wasn't pleasant for me to get to the address if you don't have a private or a rented car.
But, if you take my word, one of the best experiences I have had, an Eagle eye view of London. If you really want to see the beauty of this city? Go up high!!! See it from an Eagle's eye.
Flight was smooth and safety briefing was to the point and well timed.
And if you CAN, get that copilot seat!!! Sit next to the pilot , a first hand experience... double the excitement.

Exhilarating experience! Must do if you can, it's one of those experiences that you will remember for a long time. I did it over Liverpool, and firstly it was amazing to be up there and viewing the city from the skies. What made the experience even better was the staff. They were polite, friendly, kind and just made sure all their customers were happy and enjoyed their experience. Thank you Adventure 001, I will be back for sure.

“This was one of the best experiences I’ve been on. All the staff on land were informative, polite and efficient. Once we arrived we had our briefing and was quickly on the helicopter, strapped in and ear defenders on then off we went. I booked a 30 minute city tour of Oxford and was blown away. The pilot was friendly, informative and even performed a few steep turns which were exhilarating. I will definitely be booking another as this was an experience I will never forget.
Thank you so much”

Was short-changed on the flight duration
Paid for 75km/30min flight.
Flight tracked for just 50km over 20minutes.
Clearly a rip off.
Did not have any communication from the pilot , either the headset was broken or not switched on.
Was given a rear facing seat , which gave the same limited view of the airport we took off from as he pilot only made left turns.
No call back or customer support from this company on this issue.
Returned to airport to complain to adventure001 staff and they also did not return my query.
Date of experience: 30 March 2024
As of 11 April no response from this company.

I did the Manchester stadium tour, I really loved the experience from the front seat. I've been on many flights abroad, I felt much safer than on those flights! Even though all pilots do a great job! Captain Stewart was fantastic throughout the flight & told us the major landmarks. Ground crew were great too, £10 for a photo was reasonable as it's a great souvenir of my experience! I'd recommend this company to anyone. Please pass my feedback to the Captain.

An amazing experience!! All the staff were friendly and helpful which made the day even better. The experience was well organised and even though the weather had delayed the flights, we were kept informed on expected wait time. Altogether a great adventure and would highly recommend!

We had this at Blackpool Airport. Excellent experience. Was gifted this by my brother who sadly couldn't use the gift himself due to contracting covid! Three of us went and it was great. We took plenty of photos, as you do! 🤣
A few pointers, there is an opportunity on the day to upgrade to be the front seat passenger (£15) and my sister-in-law said it was well worth it, however, we sat in the rear and had excellent views and the didn't feel like we missed our at all; great to go early and watch the landings and takings off; take a flask and a snack and enjoy the wait; lastly, as you approach or leave the helicopter for your flight the sound is almost deafening but inside with the headset on it is perfectly okay, a bit like being in a car!
We're now looking to see how we can do it again with a slightly longer trip!
