How long is the drive from Patras to Volos?
The direct drive from Patras to Volos is 183 mi (294 km), and should have a drive time of 4 hrs 20 mins in normal traffic.
If you’re going on a road trip from Patras to Volos, we did the research for you and compiled some great stops along the way — with top places to visit like Venetian Castle of Nafpaktos and Nafpaktos, or the ever-popular Municipal Museum of Kalavritan Holocaust.
The top stops along the way from Patras to Volos (with short detours) are Delphi, Koukounaries Beach, and Delphi Archaeological Museum. Other popular stops include Odontotos rack railway Diakopto – Kalavrita, Paralia Milopotamos, and Paralia Troullos.
The Municipal Museum of Kalavritan Holocaust is a powerful tribute to the residents who perished in the 1943 massacre by the Nazis. The museum provides an evocative account of the struggle between occupying forces and partisan fighters, leading up to the atrocity. It offers a full chronicle of the slaughter and includes emotional testimonies from survivors through video monitors. A visit to this museum in Kalavryta is highly recommended for those seeking a deeper understanding of this tragic historical event.

An impressive and at the same time horrible story is told here. I was most impressed by the testimonies of the survivors and relatives captured on film. Lest we forget. What is also special is that the museum was part of the drama that took place here in Kalavrita. The building was the school where all women and children were locked up. All the killed men of the village are depicted on a photo wall, but the guilty are also shown and described.

4 euros entry worth to main such a museum!!!
Loved the videos and the whole presentation!
Λαλαιτης Ευαγγελος — Google review
I was really impressed by the presentation of the dramatic events that happened in this peacefull town.
The museum shows you aspects of daily life as it was before the massacre, the horror of the fatal day and a clear explanation of the military and strategic components in the Peloponesos.
The interviews with the survivors give you goosebumps.
When will humans finally understand that we should be brothers.

Excellent museum that tells the terrible story of the 13 December 1943 atrocities against the people of Kalavrita. The building was the town’s school, where the population was gathered, and then separated forever. The displays and videos are extremely moving.

Amazing museum that gives you a full sight of the chronicle of the slaughter of people that stayed in Kalavryta by the nazis during the second world was! Really emotional was the fact that there are several monitors with videos with testimonies from survivors! It was very touching! Definetely recommended if you find yourself in Kalavryta!

It is a small museum of 4 rooms, but I think it is essential to understand well the history of kalavrita, there are some videos with some witnesses of the German olocaust. It doesn't have cruel images, but I won't suggest it for children. I suggest to visit it immediately when you get off the train.
Sara Nena — Google review
A very emotional and moving place to visit. Lots of information about the terrible events of the Kalavryta Holocaust and also the history of the rack railway.
Rose Robinson — Google review
The whole experience is a chill running down your spine. Especially the last room, with all the victims and the very few survivors.
Vee — Google review
Not so big but informative and within the historical building of the school where the massacre took place.
Hana Koloverou Šimíková — Google review
A stark reminder to what was a grave crime against humanity of an entire town. Housed in the former school that was used as a prison and place of torture, it is a solemn sad place such as others that I have visited like Dachau in Munich and the Holocaust Museum of Washington DC...reminders that these types of crimes must never ever happen again.
Take some exercise and walk up from the town. Plenty of alleys to get lost in but just keep heading up. You will be rewarded with some great history and stunning views. A couple of cafes on the way down or up

The Venetian castle dominates over Nafpaktos town, which you can reach by road from the town or by car in less than 10 minutes.
The castle is very large and in very good condition. Clean, with fire extinguishers, cut grass, pruned trees, signage and unique views at every point!
For safety reasons, climbing the castle walls is prohibited.
George Messinia — Google review
The Castle occupies a commanding position high above the Nafpactos town.
I went there by car, wouldn't suggest walking up to it. Entered at around 6 PM and had the entire site for myself - I was the only visitor there so chatted with a lady selling tickets.
The origins of the castle date back to ancient era with more extensions during the Byzantines. Most of what we see today is done by the Venetians, hence the name, while after them the Ottomans conquered it.
Fantastic views of entire region, including the imposing Rio-Antirio bridge in the distance and Peloponnese across. Entry fee only 3 Euros, plenty of parking in front

We went there in September. The door was locked, no working hours written. Pity, otherwise I think it is worth visiting.

A beautiful Castle of a past era and time. There are some well preserved walls and ruins at site. The price of the ticket is really low and I really can't find any excuse for anyone coming to the region and not paying a visit to it. Just please do check out the operating hours so it's not closed when you do.
Paul Dawg — Google review
A very well maintained ancient castle with great view over the city of Nafpaktos and the surroundings.
George Maleas — Google review
Absolutely impressive. Certainly one of the best castles in Greece, with super view to the see and the surrounding mountains. It is a pitty that besides of a few lines, there are hardly any explanations given about the castle and its history. A leaflet to give out with the entree ticket (costs 3Eur) would be probable a good idea and easy to implement. Of course one can still do an internet search otherwise....

Amazing view that you can't miss!
It's one of the best reserved castles of Greece and that's another reason to visit it.
We would appreciate some more guidance or historical information displayed around the place, though.
Other than that, it's a great feeling to be up there!

Beautiful castle with AMAZING views, accessible by car all the way to the main gate. Small entrance fee, which is worth it.
The lack of descriptions about the details of the buildings and structures on sites is disappointing, however, as is the fact that none of the restored buildings were accessible. Everything was locked.

Fantastic fortress 200m above sea. One of the most intact medieval fortresses of Greece. It begins with the harbour walls to protect the city from attack of the sea. Then rise from east and west. Fantastic views ! Many cisterns inside. A small mosque converted to church, the Vezir mosque. Only 3 euros entrance.

Quite an unique and interesting castle, with stunning views of the straights of Corinth. Entry is quite cheap and toilet facilties are available. Information inside is limited, but it is in English and gives a concise history of the castle.
Nafpaktos is a town and a former municipality in Nafpaktia, Aetolia-Acarnania, West Greece, situated on a bay on the north coast of the Gulf of Corinth, 3 km west of the mouth of the river Mornos.
It is named for Naupaktos, an important Athenian naval station in the Peloponnesian war. Wikipedia.

Started in a cave on a steep cliff, this monastery dating back to the 4th century is a famous sight.
Very unique and beautiful place. Monastery on its own is a beautiful place but cave behind it make it even more special.
Marta Siemaszko — Google review
We checked this place online and it said it’s free entrance so we jumped in a car and drove an hour to see a monastery. We were so excited, enjoyed breathtaking views all along our way. When we got inside and were enjoying nice art inside a museum we were greeted by a monk who told us that it cost 3 euros each to be there. We did not have any cash and he told us that in mountains nobody takes credit cards which is not true because everyone else had no problem with it. He basically asked to leave… so disappointing … and misleading…

This is an impressive monastery with a dramatic history. It has been burned four times: 840 during Iconoclasm riots, 1640 by the Ottomans, 1934 by accident, and 1943 by the Nazis. It was rebuilt each time, most recently in the late 1950’s by donation from the King of Greece. It was renovated in 2011 with EU funding. The gift shop is excellent as well.

The Mega Spileon monastery was serene and quiet. If you are travelling through this area, it is worth stopping because this location has a very rich history. Inside, you'll find an icon of Mary and Jesus that was discovered in the cave around which this monastery built a church.
Please keep in mind that there is a semi-strict dress code in place if you wish to enter the sanctuary.

Today I called the people of this Holy place to arrange a night of stay in the monastery.
I could easily stay in a hotel and this is not the matter...
The sensation of staying in a divine place was that I was looking for.
I was so wrong...
A non kind guy replied to my call and also told me that there is no place for my small dog in their place.
So sorry for the experience I had and thank you for blocking my way towards you. I had a completely wrong idea about you.
There is no scenario I can control on earth that can separate me from my loyal friend.
May God spare you enlightment.
Jesus was just right again.

The Monastery of Proussos was named from the Icon of Panagia Prousiotissa from Proussa in Minor Asia. It is a historic building that has kept expanding due to donations. The location is impressive and it can get very busy as buses arrive from all over the world to visit this. We loved the old clock and the oldest part of the monastery. One star less as it looked more like a business modern monastery that does not fit with the older part of the church. Still architectonically it is beautiful and you should definitely visit it.

Very beautiful monastery in a special location. It's amazing the feeling you get when you get there and face it. We enjoyed the view, we learned the history of the monastery from a monk who wanted to explain it to us. Information: Better not to bother the monks unless they show you they are available. Some are there to get away from other people and get closer to god through prayer.

If you can stomach the continuous turns on the way, the scenery and final destination will reward you. Taken care of but expensive. The dears are very cute but do not have too much space. We went on the train ride, paid for the 5 rounds, got only 4.
It would be great if there were ponies for smaller children.

The things were ok but i am very angry about what they are doing to the horses! They are dirty and their tack. I even saw a dead bug in the horse’s mane. I think they should take care of the horses because they have lifes too. Imagine if u couldn’t bath by yourself and no one even brushed you!
Sylvie Font — Google review
Great place for families. There are horses for a ride, a zip line, a climbing tower and a train or boat ride for younger kids. There is also a nice cafeteria and a souvenir shop. And a couple of deers. Members of staff are all professionals. They make you feel very safe. However, it’s a bit impersonal, especially when there are many people. A drawback is there is no small horse (maybe a pony) for small kids. Oh, and it’s quite expensive.

A stunning recreational park, right below the majestic mountains. Easily accessible and not hard to find. The cafeteria has lots of nice treats inside whilst the park offers many activities. The owners are very kind and professional!
Pavlos A. — Google review
Really good looking place, gives you access to fresh air in a relaxed atmosphere allowing kids to run free and enjoy their time. Unfortunately when we visited, the canoe and the train rides were under maintenance, noone was available to let us use the tower-climbing and archery facilities and our kid (4 years old) was not old enough to ride the pony(5 years minimum) and the rappel ramp (7 years minimum). As such we basically only had access to the kids playground. I am sure that for someone having access to all activities this place will be fantastic though. Regardless of the above we recommend a visit even if it is just for a quick coffee.

The place is excellent for families with kids. There are multiple activities for then and a lot of space for running and enjoying. The prices for the activities for the kids are high as the prices of the food. The portions are generous but nothing that will make you dream of. The wild animals and the horse riding may be the highlights of our multiple visits. Overall a good space that you should visit if you want to entertain your kids.
Went there on a sunny day without any snow, so I cannot review much. Magnificent view of the mountains, cozy place for a hot drink.

Just 4 slopes and one of them kept close in a non-busy day, but with perfect difficulty progression for beginners! The resting places are better than the usual in Greece. Not busy at all on a Friday, allowing fast access to the lifts and unhindered sking down the slopes!
Delphi is a modern town located west of the ancient archaeological site. The town was established to accommodate the population of Castro, which had to be relocated for the excavation of the ancient Delphi site. Ancient Delphi, situated on Mt Parnassos with views of the Gulf of Corinth and surrounded by olive trees, is considered one of Greece's most spiritually significant archaeological sites.
The Delphi Archaeological Museum houses a vast collection of architectural sculptures, statues, and other precious objects donated to the ancient Greek oracle from the 8th century BC onwards. It is a matter of debate whether to visit the museum or site first, as both offer unique experiences. The museum provides visitors with insights into what the site may have looked like during its prime, featuring wealthy buildings and vividly coloured statues.
The museum is right next to the Delphi ruins and holds most of the (small) items found on the site and the more monuments/decorative stones used on the buildings.
The museum isn't that big and takes the general visitor less than half an hour.
Including the Delphi ruins this is a sight worth seeing.

Wonderful museum showing the amazing finds throughout the ancient temple area. Offers plenty of information about its life as a religious center for the ancient Greeks. So many things to see, plan to spend sometime slowly making your way through.

Really incredible museum and building! Loved how the building stands on stilts overtop of an archaeological site with several places to view from. It's easy to understand why it has won so many awards with its thoughtful design that compliments the exhibits without taking away from them. Note that you are not allowed to bring backpacks into the museum. I was asked to check my backpack but it was free and an efficient system. No worries there.

Archaeological site and museum locate beside each other, just off the road. Finally, found a spot in 5 – 10 minutes’ walk. Since no specific parking lot provided, there is a chance, need to go back and forth to find a spot after somebody’s leaving. Staff were very nice and welcome. Site is located in the heights and good looking landscape. You would see different nationality, professional and nice travelers, interested in history. There was some information about monument but it could be more. There were some shops for statues and souvenirs with good price. Still there is a chance to negotiate. Local people were welcome to provide information, to help to find parking spot, and to show the ways.

Visiting the Delphi archaeological site and museum was an unforgettable journey into the heart of ancient Greece. The site itself, nestled on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, offers breathtaking views and a palpable sense of history. Exploring the ruins of the Temple of Apollo, the theater, and the stadium was like stepping back in time, imagining the rituals and competitions that once took place there.
The museum, with its impressive collection of artifacts, beautifully complements the outdoor experience. From intricately carved statues to delicate pottery, each exhibit tells a story of the people who once inhabited this sacred place. The highlight for me was seeing the iconic Charioteer statue up close, its serene expression and masterful craftsmanship truly awe-inspiring.
The staff at both the site and the museum were knowledgeable and passionate, adding depth to the experience with their insights and anecdotes. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply seeking to connect with the past, a visit to Delphi is a must-do. It's a place where ancient wonders come to life, leaving a lasting impression on all who have the privilege to explore its treasures.

Incredible history behind an ancient center of religion. Imagine asking and then getting advice from a woman who babbled from inhaled vapors which then were interpreted by priests in a vague manner so as to allow the questioner to figure out the answer for themselves. And then the vast mini temples and tributes to the Oracle...
It blows the mind as to how powerful and influential this place was.

Worth the drive - don't miss Delphi!
This was one of the best parts of the our Greek trip! Delphi is so beautiful and magical. It was worth the two hour drive from Athens. We took a tour with Getaways Greece which was a day trip. The vistas were just beautiful on the drive. Once you get to Delphi it's like you're transported to somewhere magical! I loved it better than Acropolis which was so touristy. The crowds were sparse here and it was lovely to take in the sites at your own pace without being herded like cattle.
Mind you it does take a bit of walking if you want to get to the top to see the stadium. But even if you don't go all the way to the top it is still a beautiful place to visit and you can still get a lot out of it without going to the top. Wear comfortable shoes.

Beautiful museum and incredible site to explore. We had a private guide that explained all of the historical significance of the site.
I'll just add one warning: the incline is steep and the steps are uneven. If mobility is an issue, as it was for me, making it to the top to see the theater, may not be possible.

Nice musium! Very explanatory through the texts that describe the different monuments! It is relatively small thus it is not getting boring for smaller children lets say. It combines the outside area of Delphi that is very pretty with a beautiful view! A pleasant experience for sure!

This museum wasn't too bad, especially since the ticket to the Sanctuary of Apollo came with the museum ticket. For the size of the place, I was kind of expecting it to be wall to wall artifacts and it really wasn't. With the museum and the archeological sites, maybe took a few hours to read about and take in.
Brian Morton — Google review
If your visiting Delphi this is a must see. The museum really helps put the ruins in perspective and context. Lots of ancient artifacts found at the site. It's very affordable and not huge, I wouldn't see spending more than maybe a few hours.

Great place to visit if you're in the area. Plenty to see and learn during this site.
The path is nicely laid out, and you should be able to see everything should you follow the correct path.
The archeological site also offers an amazing view of the mountains, especially as you get higher towards the stadium.
The ticket price also offers entry into the museum, which offers historic displays and artefacts from the archeological site.
Don't forget to visit the other two archeological sites just a little further down the road (gymnasium and Athena... Something - should be visible on Google Maps).
Walkable to and from the town of Delphi as well, so you can definitely spend a good few hours there, wandering around and learning about this site and its historical importance.

An exceptional archaeological site as well as a museum. It is not indicated anywhere, but due to the extreme heat, the working hours have been changed. In the morning they work from 8h to 13h and then from 17:30h to 20h. The disadvantage is that children from 12 to 25 years old outside the European Union are not entitled to free entry but pay half price.

I would advise doing this with a guide if your interested in more then just taking photos. You get a much more in depth experience and an understanding of what your looking at. Museum and the temple ruins were amazing. Note the stadium is about 10-15 mins further up from the ruins.

A great museum and extraordinary archeological site. The admission price of €12 gives you access to both. So the site early as it gets hot and the museum after. Also you avoid the crowds if you go early. Amazing history and buildings.

The Delphi Archaeological Museum, nestled in the heart of Greece, serves as a mesmerizing window into the ancient world, showcasing the rich cultural and religious heritage of the Delphic sanctuary, revered throughout antiquity as the home of the famous oracle. This museum is a treasure trove of history, housing an extensive collection of artifacts that span thousands of years, including the iconic Charioteer of Delphi, the Sphinx of Naxos, and the remnants of the Temple of Apollo. The exhibits, arranged chronologically, offer a comprehensive overview of the development of the art and thought of ancient Greece, making it a must-visit for history enthusiasts. Beyond its historical significance, the museum's location offers breathtaking views of the surrounding valley and mountains, adding a layer of natural beauty to the experience. Visiting the Delphi Archaeological Museum is not just a journey into the past; it's an opportunity to connect with the wisdom and artistry of ancient civilizations, making it a pivotal stop for anyone exploring Greece's rich heritage.

A definite highlight of my families Greek vacation. Come stand at the Temple of Apollo and imagine it's 7th century BC and your about to ask the Oracle a question. The grounds here take you back to a time that predates most of what we know about history. Beautiful museum to see and then walk through what used to be ancient Delphi and make your way to the amphitheatre at the Pinnacle.

You can visit this amazing place from parking to peak in an hour. And if you do, you're cheating yourself. If you don’t want to leave with regrets, commit at least four hours for this exploration of antiquities and yourself. We were on a private tour. It was supposed to be a small group of 6 to 8 people. But we were the only customers that day so it was my partner, myself, our guide and our driver. It was perfect! Do not, I repeat, do NOT book a large group tour! You will be one of 60 people wearing a headset, separated from everyone, in your private purgatory, trying to stay within range of your distant guide’s transmission. But don’t trust me. “Know thyself.” Know for yourself. Visit & form your own opinions.

A must visit the museum. There are so many artifacts that were in very good condition or very well restored. One should visit the site first and then visit the museum. There are no restrooms inside the museum, you need to go out for that. Also make sure to check the time slot in your ticket, and visit the museum within that time to avoid issues.
The Temple of Apollo is an ancient historical landmark with significant cultural and religious importance. It boasts 6 restored Doric columns from the 300s BCE and has been visited by many over thousands of years. Located in Delphi, the ruins include the Fountain of Peirene, the Agora where Paul's trial by Gallio took place, and the famous Bema stands. Another famous Temple of Apollo is located in Naxos, known as Portara or Doorway.
Great temple with historic value, it takes a while to get there but the entrance is not that expensive and everything is well explained, I recommend going here with a guide for the full experience, the ticket is 12 euros and includes a visit to the museum. Both sites have toilets

Great reconstruction of the ancient Greek oracle site. Well done and maintained paths. A good physical exercise; make sure that you have a way to cool off during summer visits.

if you have taken the effort to visit Athens then do take a trip to Delphi and consult the Oracle!
The Drive from Athens takes about 2hr 15 min.
you need about 2 hrs to hike up to the stadium come down and visit the museum. Grab a bite in the picturesque village of Arachova
Ash — Google review
Some nice history about the temple. Somewhat disappointing when you get to the top and there isn't much else but the theatre and not much of a view.
The best view would be from somewhere in the middle overlooking the theatre.
If you want to learn more about it then would recommend a tour guide. Can sometimes be packed with a lot of tours
Vinay Damani — Google review
Delphi and the Temple of Apollo was excellent, I very much enjoyed exploring these ruins and seeing something similar to what people thousands of years ago would have seen when going to hear from the Oracle. Wear good shoes as the walk up is steep.

Delphi is truly magnificent!!! A guide is recommended to know the interesting stories of this historical monument. Fully recommended when visiting Greece. Also don't miss the museum which is just next to the monument.
DHAVAL BENDALE — Google review
It is exactly what you expect it to be. You can generally find parking along the hill by the museum. The museum was the easiest place to purchase tickets to walk up and see the temple.

A must visit site. Better with a tour guide. Enjoyed the tour since our tour guide had a lot of stories and jokes. Peaceful environment. Area is steep so recommend a good walking shoes and bring drinking water. Not for those with uncontrolled hypertension

The temple of Apollo was so neat. I personally found it more interesting than the Acropolis in Athens. The setting in the hills of Mt Parnassus made it even more incredible. The only downside was that the stadium was closed while we were visiting.
We went in the middle of April during the week and it wasn’t too crowded.
Melissa DiGioia — Google review
It is hard to imagine how this place looked at its glory. It took more than a thousand years to fully develop this site.
This is the most famous Oracle site in the ancient world. Has fallen into decline in 5th century after Christianity was officially introduced in Greece.
Tomek Ikea — Google review
Got there at 3:15 pm and was denied entry because last entrance is at 3:10 even though Google maps says 8:30-4:00 pm.
I came from overseas and drove all the way from Athens to see this temple, and the ladies would not budge to let us in, even though we would pay and had travelled so far. She even had the nerve to ask “what I was doing all day” since they open at 8:30 am. Ridiculous way to treat guests who are visiting your country for the first time.
Anyway, there’s a cool hike behind the temple that overlooks the mountains. Much better than just the temple and it’s open 24/7! :)

🚃 Visiting Vagonetto, the aluminum museum near Amfissa, was truly a vivid experience. The short videos depicting the history of aluminum extraction, where workers used hand equipment, provided a fascinating insight into the industry's evolution.
👷🏼♂️The tour under the lodge, named "850" which means the level above Sea surface, with the old rail trail added a nostalgic charm, making the visit both educational and immersive.
👉🏼Highly recommended for those seeking a unique blend of history and hands-on exploration!
Konstantinos Gk — Google review
It was a very nice experience and we learned many things. I have just one remark. The people who showed us around, basically did nothing. They just pressed buttons in order for us to listen and see videos. They even told us not to ask questions, because they would be answered on later exhibits.
George Kalantzis — Google review
Mixed feelings about this one.
The excursion is split in two halfs for about 30 min each.
The first one is boring, with an audio guide (almost everything you can read from tabloids in the museum) and some videos (with so-so video and sound quality) about the history of the mines etc.
The second half is much more interesting as you descend to the mines itself, where the history is not only told, but also shown in real world examples
Vladislavs Perkaņuks — Google review
Amazing experience, you get to go deep in the earth and walk around the mine! You have to make a reservation for sure before going!

Wonderful for all the family. Phone and book before you drive, its a long, beautiful drive and a shame if they are booked up. Audio in many languages using head phones. About 90 minutes tour.
Toby Stephenson — Google review
The place is honestly amazing. I recommend it to everyone really. On the way to the mines the staff has you to board a train which is really shaky but don't worry.
My only issue would be the videos that they showed us. Especially the second one , it got kinda boring.
EVERYTHING else was amazing 10/10 recommend both for kids and adults

We came to central Greece in the heat wave and went to the mine as it was cool. We knew nothing about bauxite mining in Greece and now we do! Great local museum doing a great job education the next generation on how hard life was in the past. Bit dated but in a lovely way. Really friendly guides. Can’t recommend enough.

The Hosios Loukas Holy Monastery is a magnificent Byzantine-style religious complex established in the 11th century. It is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and situated between the towns of Distomo and Kyriaki, about 23km southeast of Arahova. The monastery comprises two churches, including the principal church that houses some of Greece's most exceptional frescoes from the Byzantine era. Visitors are expected to dress modestly (no shorts).
Amazing exemple of Byzantine culture and religion. Now we can see not only perfect wall frescoes and mosaic from X cent., but also olives maschine, monastic garden, cells, cemetery. The place of cult of St Luka of Steira from IX/X cent.
LB L — Google review
We saw this monastery a few days after the area had been ravaged by wildfires. The air still smells of the burning. The monastery was saved but some side buildings were burnt as the fire came to the very edge of the ancient property on Mount Parnassus from the 11th century (modern by Greek standards).
We loved the church and the artwork across the property. It has an amazing history and contains the tomb of the founder, now Saint Luke. Great gift shop.

Roughly 40 minutes drive from Delphi.
Worth a visit for the lovely mosaics and murals and the amazing views. But a number of areas that seemed like they normally would be open were closed off. Admission appeared to be free unless you wanted to visit the museum building, we paid to be nice (only 4 euros each) but skipped it since we were short on time. There’s a small snack and museum shop on site.

Sublime and well preserved monastery, with breathtaking view over the olive trees landscape. My tips :
*/ better visit at the end of day, when the sunlight is warmer and fewer visitors on site
*/ don’t forget to visit the “olive press” part, a bit hidden at the end of the visit

Peace and Beauty. Absolutely a marvelous holy place, quiet and serene with amazing views and lovely people. I was so welcomed at mass, the locals noted my quiet awe at where they worshipped that after mass a local walked me to the icons the resting place of thier Saint and despite a language barrier I knew and she conveyed the special place this was. Thank you Greece, I arrived a guest and left like family.

We visited Hosios Loukas from Meteora on our way to Athens. Located near the town of Distomo, it is a nice stopover although the road condition was not always good. This is definitely a scenic monastery in the valley, and I saw l lots of olive trees and grapes on the way. The ticket is just 2 euros, but you definitely need your own car to come all the way here.
Parnassus, one of Greece's highest mountains, is located in the Phocis district of ancient central Greece. The mountain features a sprawling national park and a popular ski resort that attracts ski enthusiasts every year due to its proximity to Athens. Covered in evergreen fir trees, Parnassus offers an ideal destination for winter activities and trekking amidst an alpine landscape.
I didn’t really go to Parnassus. I just saw it on the way passing by. It’s kind of wonderful feeling to see a mountain 🏔️ showing up suddenly when driving. It’s so beautiful especially with those green trees and grass.

Tough steep climb in summer to top of Liakoura summit. You could get closer if chairlift operated or you could drive the Jeep roads but the resort makes you walk.
For first half follow the jeep paths from carpark which is easier than going under the chairlifts with uneven ground covered in thistles.
Then follow the red blazes on the rocks.
Use the Anavasti app and buy the Parnassos map. The geotracking will keep you on the path.

Pretty impressive mountain, suitable for outdoor activities (ski, hiking, paragliding etc.) and picturesque villages with good accommodation and traditional food options (Arachova, Amfiklia etc.).

Beautiful place. Avoid weekends, enjoy quiet weekdays, hire your skis from Arachova, not the ski center (expensive). Amazing to see ocean from mountain. Start early as lifts close an hour earlier than Alps.

One of my favourite Greek mountains for the ski and trekking lovers. It is suggested that the name derives from parnassas, the possessive adjective of the Luwian word parna meaning house, or specifically temple, so the name effectively means the mountain of the house of the godη

The evergreen Mt Parnassos, covered in fir trees, is a famous winter destination and one of the highest mountains in Greece. A swarm of ski aficionados head to the ski resort every year as their trip there is facilitated by its proximity to Athens. The mythical mountain’s slopes are weighed down by the history and tradition of Roumeli. It is an ideal destination where you can enjoy the warmth of greek hospitality and views of some picturesque villages in an alpine landscape. The area offers also more then 100 hiking routes and is best visited on summer!

Secluded, sand & rock beach with a bar, on a volcanic island popular with boat trippers.
Place known as Greek Seychelles-owns everything - from sandy beach, tourquise shiny water, shallow and sandy seabottom which is a little bit rocky but manageable. Captain of the boat was very helpfull and informative, and we found out so much about history of this place... And mythology as well. We enjoyed it in full until we got hungry. Portion of souvlaki was not enough for a baby, and squid was not grilled enough. Anyway, worth of visit.
Maja Stojic — Google review
Since there are some very specific complaints about the area I will share our experience having visited at the end of July 2023.
First of all we were never asked to provide cash or any other payment method. We used our cards for the tickets and for drinks at the bar.
It is true that there are not enough sunbeds and umbrellas so bringing your own is not a bad idea. If you go early in the morning you will probably have no trouble finding a spot.
The Bar is a bit on the pricey side (€3 for a cola) but you are not obliged to consume anything. In fact, we were told that sunbeds and umbrellas were free with our tickets .
The beach itself is nothing to write home about, but we were lucky enough to encounter two seals that were playing in the vicinity.
Yannis Georgidakis — Google review
It was a nice beach with a beach bar to sell you the essentials. Better bring your own umbrella thought.
Dimitris Damaskos — Google review

Artan Kristo — Google review
Absolutely stunning place. Incredible beach with good shade and a reasonably priced beach bar. 330ml beer was €3, and the same for a coffee. The souvlaki was a bit salty but still very tasty. The sunbeds are free, which is fantastic too. Can't wait to return in the future.
There are 2 small changing areas, not great, but do the job. The toilets were not great, but again, do the job. As the island isn't inhabited, there is no water system, thus no shower, so bare that in mind.
Andrew Parker — Google review
An interesting island complex where the two largest have beach bars.
Beautiful place worth a day trip.

Good thing about the beach is that the umbrella's and chairs are free. You just have to get there. There is a beach bar with food, drinks and snacks. The water is nice do keep in mind the sharp rocks at some places and sometimes you might see the Salouva (harmless jellyfish) passing by, depending on the season i heard.

Lichadadonisia islands are a true paradise. BUT, as we didn’t want to go to the main beach, we started a tour of the island by foot. This is what we have seen. Sooooo much plastic and trash. What are local authorities doing ? Greek autorithies ? Micro plastic is a huge problem as they pollute waters, fish and all sea living things. In the end, we end up eating micro plastic in the food we eat.. Exploiting such a beautiful island, labeling it for marketing purposes “the Greek Seychelles” is a true shame. If it is to be kept that way, as a paradise, then it comes with political & ecological actions and responsibility. This island has to be cleaned asap. If you ever go there maybe you can follow up the movement and clean like we ended up doing as we managed to find two bags we could use. So If you go there, bring some big bags and spend half an hour cleaning an area. If every tourist on a day trip did that, the dump island we be back to a paradise in no time.

The best is the thermal outdoor pool but the spa treatments are expensive. In the room there isnt any cofee machine nor an electrical kettle. At night they turn on the heater too hot and dry you out in your sleep. The TV screen is too small and the team is not professional, only the manager is. Across the street are the thermals in the public beach inside the sea which are absolutely great.

Have stayed in this hotel several times in the past . As I was unable to get a room on a bank holiday weekend I kindly asked the reception staff if we could pay the admission fee for the hot springs . The lady with the long brown hair ( can’t recall the name ) started shouting at her colleague NO NO NO as if wasn’t even there listening . This is not a behavior appropriate for such a hotel and especially when the request is made not just for recreation but for health reasons. A polite way to deny is what I would expect . I hope the manager takes note of my review . I will certainly think twice before staying here again or use their spa services . It is a sad decline .

It was an okay hotel. Worth the 5 stars just for the size. Giving 3 stars because:
1.I asked for a room with nice view, I got one that had a view of the street with 2 trash boxes as view.
2.We had to cross over to room by passing by an underground hall (really? For a luxurious hotel?). You could see cars parked, abandoned play room filled with chairs e.t.c
3. Massage: was maybe the worst one. I booked for 3 people and this guy literally rubbed us (literally just rubbing) around for 1 hour. And I also paid 300+ € for this. Very very unprofessional for a spa hotel.

Treatments expensive and poor value for money - pleasant, but nothing remarkable and priced at top tier international rates. The place has had a fresh lick of paint in the last year or two but that can’t cover up the fact that it’s actually quite run down and that thermal pools are dirty. Go elsewhere unless you are happy with three star service at a five star price.

On the Aithipsos promenade, there are plenty of restaurants, but if you walk right to the end; near the thermal spars, you’ll find this place. No waiting for a table, immediate table service. A menu designed with sophistication in mind.
This is an expensive restaurant to eat at, regardless of circumstance. But you’re paying for the highest quality.
The chefs are artists. Magicians dedicated to the high arts of culinary mastery. The service staff know exactly how to make you feel at home. In fact I would go as far as to say, this is the closest you can come to a home cooked meal on all of Euboea.
The menu specifically states that the chef learnt from generations of Greek grandmothers. I do not believe there is a better source to grasp mastery of cooking than Greek yayas.
Eat here. Every mouthful you will exclaim a “wow” or an “omg”. Well worth it.

Traditional family business that exists for many years and now it is a beautiful museum with clean and green environment. We enjoyed this very much. The ticket price is low and it is totally worth it to see.

A visit to this wonderfully designed museum that serves as preservation of our cultural heritage is essential when in Volos. With deeply knowledgeable guides and beautiful exhibits you can learn everything about the brick factory and traditional brick-making techniques.

A surprising museum from the past century that is actual manufacturing of bricks, building blocks, roofing and mining. It shows the real machines and manufacturing lines exactly as it was then along with the working personnel and the family that started the business.

This museum is perfect if you want to learn more about Greek history. I found it very interesting. When we went there it was closed but the guard offered to guide us inside. This is a must visit when you are in volos.
The Athanasakio Archaeological Museum of Volos houses a collection of ancient artifacts, such as tombstones, gold ornaments and sculptures. The exhibits are displayed in a refined neoclassical edifice.
When you first walk into the museum you would naturally think it’s relatively old style with high ceilings and outside lighting through skylights and bright lamps that reflect of glass. Also white walls with hessian backings. These days lots of modern museums are dark with close LED lighting focused on the objects. However what you find is something very special. Many of the most important objects - mostly in the Neolithic section - are actually not behind glass at all. That gives the viewer a real close and personal contact with the objects. And the Neolithic objects are quite brilliant. A very important museum to visit.

Closes at 15:30, 4€ entry, most explanations are only in Greek and only two sections of the museum are open.
Interesting, but not a must.
Nico B. — Google review
The museum was disappointing, even on a rainy day with few other things to do in Volos. The exhibits were quite interesting but poorly explained and not put into context. Especially for children it was not very accessible. Also the exhibition is much smaller than the size of the building would lead to assume.
Tobias Stapf — Google review
In the museum you get an opportunity to obtain hands-on experience of the life in ancient Greece. There is a kiln, where pottery was made. There is a tavern, where food was cooked and served. There's a dark room where treasures of a tomb are displayed. There is even a music room, where you can listen to different music instruments.
Part of a Palace and a theater are on display as well.
Not to mention the treasures of the basement. There's a giant foot of Zeùs and other interesting exhibits.
And in just 2 minutes walk outside the museum garden, you can see for yourself rebuilt houses of a Neolithic settlement along with the walls around it.

I would recommend having a guide to help explain what all the artifacts are and their relevance to history. Thankfully we had a guide that was passionate about her job.
Shawn Price — Google review
I visited it yesterday, 19 December. There are four rooms on the ground floors and a big one in the basement. Every piece of information, but in one room, is in Greek and English, making the tour truly educational even if you struggle with modern Greek. In one room
they could not switch the light on, so a lady from the staff apologised profusely, saying a few words in English as I was uttering a few words in modern Greek.
It is definitely worth a visit.

An exquisite sightseeing option once somebody is in Volos. A very detailed and well organized museum referring to the prehistoric, archaic and classical era of all the settlements in this region. Entrance fee just €2.

What a pleasant surprise! A small museum kept us busy for more than two hours! Many interesting and even unique articles, staring from 6.000 years b.c. , carrying history, stories, religion, everyday life, art, feelings and many little secrets that kept our curiosity and interest high.
To all above I must add that the personnel was available and polite. A special thanks to Mr. Tzanis, who helped us a lot noticing and understanding the hidden tips of many articles. Congratulations for his interest, knowledge and efforts.
A must visit once in Volos!

Pelion, located in Greece, is a picturesque mountain with stunning seaside views and a variety of outdoor activities. The area boasts traditional villages offering delicious local cuisine and comfortable accommodation options. Visitors can enjoy beautiful beaches with clear waters and partake in activities such as skiing and hiking throughout the year. Agia Eleni Beach is a serene sandy beach situated 14 km west of Skiathos Town, equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas and a seasonal taverna for food and drink. The beach boasts two distinct ends - one lined with cozy straw umbrellas and a stylish tropical beach bar perfect to catch the sunset with a cocktail in hand, while the other end features rocky terrain surrounded by crystal clear aquamarine shallow waters ideal for snorkeling enthusiasts to explore colorful underwater life.
Perhaps the best beach on Skiathos Island. It definitely has the best vibes, hands down. The combination of tall trees, secluded beach bar and nice terrace makes this place unique. It is best to arrive early in the morning to book a place. Highly recommended!
Moldovan Cosmin — Google review
There is wheelchair access to the sea!
Very nice and thin sand, and there is plenty of free beach in case you don't want to pay for the sunbeds.
Maider Echaniz — Google review
Such a pity that a beach so beautiful is so badly administered! We came at 9:00 in August 2023 and stayed in front of Agia Eleni summer beach bar. By far it is the dirtiest beach we’ve seen anywhere in Greece in 15 years! Dirty towels, leftovers from the night before even tampons scattered everywhere! Rude beach guys who can’t even point you to the non reserved places. Be careful if you come early because all front rows are booked or at least that’s what they say and you need to move. The beach allegedly opens at 11 so you won’t have access to basic facilities until the guys from the bar allow you to 😤. That’s quite unpleasant since they charge 40 euros for 2 sun beds and an umbrella. Too bad for the amazing scenery!
Alin Stirbu — Google review
Nice beach, you can watch the beautiful sunset. The staff is not so friendly, but the price for sunbeds it's very big 20 euros and if you want to eat something -20 euros mandatory snacks or drinks. The WC is very, very bad -they doesn't clean. Not recommend.
Rumi Tzeneva — Google review
Beautiful beach with amazing sunsets. We got there by bus, we got off at bus stop 25 and walked for about 15 minutes, slightly uphill.
We choose to rent sunbeds at the Agia Eleni Summer Beach bar, having read the reviews here and made the best decision. We paid 10 euros for nice, comfy wooden sunbeds, the best we have seen so far at this price. The music was nice and the staff friendly. The frappe was the best I tries so far.
The sea is beautiful, with sand and we stayed to watch the sunset and it was amazing.
I liked this beach the most, visited it 2 times and there was some wind that made a hot day easier to handle.

Gorgeous beach, not too busy, although maybe late May is why, probably many more people in July and August 🏖️
D B — Google review
Nice beach, beach bar but, as all beach bars on Skiathos, quite expensive. It is really a miracle, how Mythos beer price change from 0.9E in supermarket to 5E or more on the beach. I understand that season is short and money must be taken from tourists that are moustly stuck on island, since they fly in with airplane, but there should be a human limit on margins. This is valid for all beach bars and "luxury" bars on Skiathos.
Nikola Tesla — Google review
It is a great beach, umbrellas and sunbeds are 10e but they told us that we have to spend 50 e more on the bar. So the minute you arrive you owe them a 50e. It's insane.
Milena Savić — Google review
Not recommended to go by feet, talking from experience. Sand is but rough, water is clear. Prices for sunbeds and 10 euros by the “entrance” of the beach, but the beach bar’s colorful beds are really expensive. Some tourist boats come here as well so it can get crowded. The sunset is really nice.
Katarina Aleksov — Google review
Great spot to watch the sunset probably the best on the island the beach is full of dead seaweed could do with a good rake over a couple of beach bars and a snack bar sun beds to hire €10.
Tony Nichols — Google review
Smaller size beach, not busy, sandy beach, not choppy in the sea, beautiful island views and surrounding mountains. I had a safe relaxing swim here and there is a reasonably priced restaurant and sunbeds, showers and toilets available.
Jas Chahal — Google review
Great beach (tiny rocks , not sand in the water). 8 euros to rent 2 sunbeds and an umbrella ( same as koukounaries). Only saw one small boat bringing day visitors so overall quiet. The food at the beach bar (not the tavern) was basic but tasty (served in a plastic box even though we sat at a table there).
Overall a nice day in a beautiful beach :)
Andreas Aristodemou — Google review
Wasn't easy to access and both bar/restaurants establishment's weren't inspiring. We went for the one to the south and although seating and views OK, prices were not clearly displayed so watch out! Not the cleanest of toilets but dim lights help distract this!!!! Lots of staff (men) standing around picking their beards and nostrils.... was off putting but they smiled nicely and were helpful. Couldn't bring ourselves to eat there for some strange reason!
Koukounaries Beach is a crescent-shaped beach located in the southwest of Skiathos Island. It's a popular and picturesque spot with soft sand, shallow blue-green water, and a beautiful pine forest that runs along the back of the beach. The area is well-organized with plenty of sunbeds, water sports facilities, and cafes within walking distance.
Lovely beach but unfortunately when we visited early Sept it was raining and cloudy
Alison Taylor — Google review
Very nice beach! I cant say for the main season, but in september it is not overcrowded. There is plenty of sunbeds. Usually, the first two rows are more expensive (30e) but the rest are 10e for umbrela and 2 sunbeds. There is some natural shade to put the towels down. But, beware, there is a lot of pointy pine leaves. Beach bars are nothing special. Water is great, crystal clear, a lot of fish swimming around. 2 swans usually swim around also. The beach is accessible from stop 26 or 23, Depends which part you prefer. Near stop 23 there is a well supplied market, 500m from the beach. Sadly, yeou cant walk all the way around the nearby lake, but nevertheless, combined with cleared roads through the forest, it can be a great place for a run. Around the lake you can bump into some rabbits and ducks. If you are on Skiathos, definitely a must see!
Ljubomir Trkulja — Google review
At Koukounaries beach, it's a slice of paradise. Crystal-clear water, tranquil spring vibes. Golden sand glistening in the sun. Plus, the magic touch? A lush forest just steps away. Nature's haven, right in front of you. During spring, it's remarkably serene, offering a quiet escape. The water's so clear, you can see straight to the bottom. And the best part? During spring and winter the beach isn't crowded, allowing for a peaceful sunbathing session. Koukounaries truly captures the essence of natural beauty, with its stunning coastline and the nearby forest adding to its allure. A must-visit for anyone seeking tranquility amidst nature's splendor.
Panagiotis Symeonidis — Google review
The beach is indeed very nice, having the forest nearby is a big plus, you can rest in the shades. The water is very child friendly as it goes deep very smooth...e.g. in 5 m water is 50cm deep. Water sports / activities can be dobe here (scuba, skijet, ski, banana etc.). The missing star from my review goes to the food that can be found here as the menu contains just junk/fast food. Not even a single taverna to offer some grill fish or fresh sea food. Mainly burgers, fries, nuggets, some pre-done salads and other frozen products. For my family this was a big minus. As for the second "covid" year ...it was not crowded at all. Cheers !
tzache lim — Google review
Nice sandy beach with a lot of free facilities. It is accessible to people with disabilities, equipped with Seatrac. They have showers and round shaped, beach changing rooms, that take everyone by surprise because they stop to explore what is that round beige/ecru colored structure under the pine trees.
There are a lot of rows of sunbeds, even some under the pine trees. But you can also find a spot on the sand if you do not wish to pay for a sunbed, although on a sunny day it gets crowded fast. There is also the possibility to go diving or do water sports.
The beach has coffee/restaurant/bar shops that also offer snacks if you like to have a lunch. A lot of people choose to visit it during rainy days just to sit and enjoy a quick bite next to the sea.
It is ideal to visit if the wind comes from the North as it doesn’t get affected, being covered by the pine trees, you can still swim. It has a bus stop, only a few meters from its entrance and in general it is easily accessible by any type of vehicle.
Overall, it is probably the most organized beach on the whole of the island and in a magnificent scenery, adjacent to Limni (lake) Strofilias, which is a protected biotope.

Beautiful beach reachable by bus and car.
Car park is available.

Water its very clear and beautiful, I think its warmer than other beaches too.

The beach is nice, but that's only if you like crowds.
It is long, so naturally there are lots of people. But you can always find free umbrellas with sunbeds (price in August 15€).
They serve food and drinks to your sunbeds or you can stand up and choose one of few beach restaurants with fast food.
The beach offers watersports and also very good diving school. And that was the only reason we went there twice.
Sanja Šemrov — Google review
The second most famous beach of Skiathos ( Lalaria is #1 ). It is a nice beach but overestimated IMHO. It is by no means a bad beach. It's sandy, the water is at a nice temperature and there are plenty of sunbeds all over the place. The beach bars have reasonable prices ( compared to other famous beaches of other islands ). Small and big Aselinos and Tsougria beaches and Lalaria are nicer however. Koukounaries on the other hand has plenty of activities such as diving schools and equipment, water sports for everyone and beach bars. If you want that laid back sensation, then go to little Aselinos, it's a no brainer.

This is a great beach with fine sand and very clear waters - you can see the fish swimming. It is sorounded by pine trees which make a lovely view - careful though at the pine needles -don t go barefoot near the trees. There are clean public toilets, no charge, and lots of changing booths.

The tourist beach. Lots of people, sand beach. 2 chairs and umbrella 15€. Bars with service to beach chairs. Some paid water activities. Pine trees offer shade. For 3€ each way bus from town stops right at beach. Skiathos has lots of really scenic beaches.

Great beach with fine sand, cristal clean water and pine trees to keep you cool. Amazing sea views
Paul Olteanu — Google review
Lovely long, clean and wide sandy beach backed by pine and cypress woodland. Beach is predominantly covered by sunbeds with a few spaces for those preferring to lay a towel on the sand. Sunbeds pricey at €15 for cheapest pairs. Some of the luxury sofa types and near sea are more expensive. Refreshments can be ordered and paid for at the sunbed. Sand is soft and has gentle slope into the sea which is clear and free of stones and rocks so ideal for swimming. The beach can get very busy in high season. Some resources here such as pedalos, ski and dive school, speed water-rides etc for the more adventurous types. Decent toilet facilities and beach bars. The beach is well served by local bus from stops 23 east side of beach and 26 for the west side. Also accessible by water taxi from skiathos Town. Good car parking nearby too.

The airplant leave us around 6-7 am on the island and we was no welcome to our hotel until 12am. So I had the idea to take the bus and visit "Koukounaries" early in the morning. We was very tired but we said go to the beach and relax a bit. Around 8am we was in this beach. We see many green trees there and we start to move in the beach. But the image was unbelievable. This famous and gorgeous beach was alone there for us. No one was there cause the early time. We just sit there, the sea has 0 wind and we just look all this gorgeous beach without people. Wow.. This is something that many people want to feel once.
We enter and the water was shallow and very clean. It was like a mirror. The sand was amazing and soft but on eye probably was the most beautiful sand I have ever see. It was very bright gold. Almost yellow. I felt I was in some tropical island even thought, this beach has nothing to envy against tropical beaches. If you see this beach without people and wind, probably you will felt in love forever.
We took pictures and we just sit there and watch this beach empty and calm. After 1 hour the people start to come and around 11:30 we gone with plenty memories in our heads.
Overall, one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen and one of the most serious. All in this beach are gorgeous and great.

- pine trees lining up along the beaches
- Crystal-clear water offers visibility of swimming litte fishes.
- Ideal for families with babies/toddlers due to shallow and calm water (Blue Flag beach with fine sand, no need for aqua shoes). Also decent playground on West Side for small kids.
- decent changing facilities, toilets and showers.
- Sunbeds available at 15 euros for a pair and an umbrella, consistent pricing along the entire long sandy beach.
- Grocery store at one end, swans & geese can be spotted at the other.
- Variety of water sports fun activities for couples and families.
- Access by white public bus (3 euros from Skiathos town as of today) or ample car parkings near the east side (bridge side)
- Beer prices range between 5-7 euros (paid 5 euro for large beer on table), takeaway option available.
- I visited around lunchtime, there was no crowds at all, perhaps I was lucky due to cloudy weather.
- Pack a picnic or bring your own drinks as prices here are on higher side.
- Perfect for spending a relaxing half-day in August

A bit of a long drive down hill, but on a paved road in very decent state. Get early as the cliffs surrounding the beach start to cast shade early in the afternoon.
Great restaurant overlooking the sea next to the parking lot.

Fairly easy access with paved road all the way. Parking at the top and a medium walk down to the beach. Beware of windy days when the waves are tall! Tragic prices at the beach bar. 20 euros for two beach chairs and an umbrella! Bring your own there is plenty of natural shade. There is also a fresh water shower and a changing room.

Totally overrated beach!
It's very narrow and in case of waves, the beach almost disappears. The little rock arch is ridiculous. The little booth which sells over priced food and drinks is also ridiculous. And to make things worse, they charge
20 Euros for a sunbed and umbrella
whiches is three times the price you pay on the beaches nearby.
We were there during low season and even then it was overcrowded.
We left after 10 minutes. Don't waste your time with the long drive to get there. Not worth visiting!

Rocky beach, not very large, so gets crowded easily. The waves may hit hard so don’t set too close to the water. Large cliffs to jump from for who’s interested. Rocks and small caves to explore for children. Parking not very generous also, so best if you come early. As a general conclusion, not to be missed. The views are spectacular from above and on stairs, even though it’s not the most comfortable beach in the area

Woooow!
One of the best beaches in Pillion.
The beach is surrounded by nature and the sea is super clean with clear blue water and clean sand.
There are many big boulders in the water and kids are jumping from them to the sea and you can see bigger kids doing some extreme cliff jumping from high places. Between the boulders and it the cliffs surrounding the beach there are many caves and passeges that you can go through.
The beach is basically divided to 2 parts and the only way to get to the other side is through a big stone arch. There is a nice Cafe and showers in the middle of the beach.
Getting there from the parking area is through a path with many stairs that will take you about 3 minutes to go down and 6 minutes to climb back up.
Very recommended.

This is indeed the beautiful beach. It is divided by 2 by the rocks and in my opinion, the 2nd part is even better. Water is super clean and that makes something special. However, the beach is a bit narrow and full of people. Better to come early. There is also a bar and restaurant there. At the time we were there, we had big waves, making it even more fun.

One of the best beaches in the region. There is one bar where you can rent umbrellas and sunbeds, the prices are ok. There are two parts of the beach divided by huge rock, it is very interesting and nice. The sea is clear and has that beautiful mixture of emerald green and blue colors. There is a parking, and once you park the car you will need to go down to the beach but the path is easy, there is even a small caffee on a way down.

Lovely clean sandy beach. 2 sunbeds and an umbrella cost €10, so not too expensive. There's plenty of room for towels on the sand (or beneath the trees in the shade) if you don't want to pay. The tavernas are reasonably good, with cheap food and drinks. We also got to see the swans in the sea - pretty funny.

Mandraki Beach in Skiathos captivates visitors with its idyllic setting, serene atmosphere, and a touch of natural beauty. Tucked away from the more crowded spots on the island, Mandraki offers a tranquil escape for those seeking a more secluded beach experience. The beach boasts soft golden sands that gently slope into the azure waters of the Aegean Sea, making it a pleasant place for swimming and sunbathing. The calm waters make it suitable for families and those looking to relax in a peaceful environment.Mandraki's charm lies in its unspoiled surroundings. The beach is nestled between lush green hills, creating a sense of seclusion and intimacy. While there are fewer facilities compared to more popular beaches, this only adds to the beach's rustic charm.Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the shoreline or explore the natural beauty of the surrounding area. The beach is accessible by boat, adding a touch of adventure to your journey.Mandraki Beach's remote location means that it's generally less crowded, providing a respite from the busier parts of the island.

The beach and the seaside are very nice, but services are poor since there is only a self service restaurant offering just a few dishes. Good to have a relaxing day at the beach, since it’s not very crowded.

Very hard to find positives about this beach. It's very hard to get to by car, impossible by foot, but could be fun with an ATV. The beach is not very crowded, however, the bar is kind of trash, the toilet especially. But most importantly, the water and shore are extremely dirty, lots of sea grass and other junk. I definetly would not recommend coming here, there are plenty other beaches on Skiathos that are easier to get to and cleaner. This one is just not worth your time here.

Calm and not so much crowded, they didn't charge sunbeds past 17:30. Little bit of sea grass but other than that it's perfect

Not too many people and not very young. If you like a quiet beach with a lovely view, that is your place! Accesibile only on an unpaved road, through the pine forest!

Watched a beautiful sunset from this beach where we were completely alone. Facilities have been closed by the officious council which is a desperate shame. The best beach on the island

Use the dirty road for Krifi Ammos,Mandraki and Agistros beach, than turn left for Mandraki through an amazing pine tree forest. You can park the car there.
Lovely beach with yellow sand, waters are not always clear due to the waves.
Sunbeds and taverna are available.

One of the best remote beach I have ever been! You can reach it by foot , either the 23th or 24th bus stop ,then 15-20 minutes walking trough the pines wood! Nice sandy beach with warm cristal water!

A nice tucked away beach, a short walk through the woods from the main road that goes through Koukounaries. The toilet facilities are *very* basic. There's a hut serving food and drink but had a very long queue. €8 for a pair of loungers. Filled up by about 11am and became quite crowded.
