The Folies Corfu Hotel Apartments offers guests a laid-back oasis in the heart of the city. With gardens and a seasonal outdoor pool, guests can spend relaxing moments in tranquil surroundings. The apartments are based on traditional Corfiot architecture and offer stylish and comfortable accommodation.
I recently stayed at Folies Hotel in Corfu and I must say, it was a truly fantastic experience. The rooms were incredibly spacious, clean and comfortable, making me feel right at home. The owners were also incredibly kind and accommodating, always willing to help and offer recommendations. But perhaps my favorite part was the beautiful pool - the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun. Overall, I highly recommend Folies Hotel and can't wait to return!

Lovely enclosed resort with access to a pool. Bar is open from 9-5, and rooms were spacious and well presented

We stayed in the hotel for 7 nights. We were lucky to be in the new part of the buildings, which were really nice, with a terrace, spacious room. and view on the small pond. The room service cleaned our apartment every 2 days, including the change of towels and blankets. The position of the hotel was good for visiting other locations and beaches, as there were enough car parks available. The garden was well maintained :)
However, there are some things which could be improved:
- The service at the reception could be a bit more informative about what to visit.
- The kitchen appliance is missing, like an oven, toaster and spoon for cooking.
- The pool itself was not clean enough and some spotlights are literally digging in the pool (see pictures). The sunbeds were mainly broken or in a bad state. The pool towels which were promised on the booking platform were not provided.
- It was cool, that the hotel had a bar service but the prices were too high and it closed too early, since there were not so many bars in the surroundings.
All in all we enjoyed our stay there and hope that the staff will work on our suggestions! :)

So so. Good enough to have a place to lay your head down but is not close to anything, if you are walking. I booked one night here to visit Old Town and had a flight out in the morning. Neither are close. It was 10€ to Old Town and 15€ to the airport by taxi (5 min rides) but are difficult to get for short distances in Corfu. The hotel staff were helpful but the hospitality felt sterile. Imagine interacting with an airline customer service agent. Nothing memorable to write home about.

The service was great, everyone was kind, but the rooms were really cold and dimly lit. The heaters in our rooms didn't work. We asked for help, and they sent someone who tried to fix it, but it was still cold. They gave us a key to a different room, but that room's heat also didn't work well. In addition, We had 3 minutes of hot water in the shower. Afterwards, anyone who wanted to shower had to use lukewarm water.
We chose to stay there because of its adjacency to the ferry in the morning to mainland Greece and the cheap price, but we probably would not go back due to the heating problem.

Good stay for family but a bit off the city.
The rooms are comfortable with a kitchen (we have not tried it), and the pool is very enjoyable (the bar is overpriced, 6€ for 2 untasty coffees, I would recommend having breakfast elsewhere).
Service is poor, the bathroom was dirty with stains on the WC, when we reported it to staff they did not apologize. No help with luggage was offered when we were shown the room.

Nice hotel with pool and very clean interior. The room was with some minor problems, smoke smell, broken door, no kitchen towel. More major problem was that the sofa bed in the living room was broken, the boards kept falling out. In the end disappointing

Caution! Don't book!!
UPDATE:
Why the staff in your review reply are trying to portray you as a liar should put you off booking!
There are witnesses to the whole incident, the ID was not forgotten. The guests' passports are systematically retained.
It's really sad how you're dealing with being busted instead of just apologizing and handing over the passport! But no, they lie, yell on the phone and threaten me to delete the review immediately. All this is very striking and sad.
Your hotel is highly unprofessional, dangerous and steals data! Plus don't forget the countless bugs in your rooms.
If you want to have a nice and above all safe time in Corfu, you should avoid this hotel!
Frist Review:
The staff will confiscate your passport at check-in (which is illegal). The Passport never be forgotten by us! We announced our check-out again the night before, but the reception was unmanned in the morning. The passport was not issued! Now the hotel does not want to send the passport and illegally keep it! Absolutely not trustworthy!
it cannot be ruled out that the personal sensitive data will be misused by the hotel.
Otherwise they would simply forward them accordingly!

Hotel not recommended! Arriving on August 9, 2023, I immediately noticed some inefficiencies in the toilets. Specifically (as documented by the attached photos) absence of glass in the shower cubicle, defect of the shower head and floor drain completely raised and easily movable. I immediately requested a change of apartment but it was not granted to me and so I requested immediately and also in the following days the resolution of the problems exposed but they did not proceed. These problems caused, during the shower, water to leak from the shower itself and from the floor drain; water that inevitably settled all over the bathroom floor. In addition, the cleaning of the apartment did not take place regularly every day but only after urging the staff. On August 16, 2023, leaving the facility, I spoke to one of the managers asking for a small refund for the inefficiencies, I waited for a response from them for days, contacting them several times on the phone but to no avail. At this point I reported everything to the booking customer service and through them I learned that my refund request had been refused. Shame!
I respond to your comment, adding the following to my review:
Do you dare to answer like this? Who do you think you're kidding? You have not solved any problem, as shown by the attached photos, taken in the days following our arrival; if I had been satisfied at the end of my stay I certainly would not have asked your manager Petros for a refund for the inefficiencies. At least have the decency not to make fun of tourists with these answers.

I don’t recommend the hotel. The room was nice, but there was a problem with toilette and there was a stinky smell coming out from it. I asked to do something about it and the staff didn’t react. It’s a lot of noise from the airport, but that okay. It’s nearby. I asked for check out 1 hour later and I was told not possible. Although the hotel is not fully booked and it’s end of the season. I won’t come back.

This hotel is beautiful. A nice pool, the staff are just so friendly and kind, accommodating! I actually booked 1 night here last minute to escape an awful hotel I had been staying in. Check in for Folies is usually 3pm but they so kindly check us in at 12pm. The bar wasn’t open but it is early May not quite in season. The room was modern, clean, comfortable and just perfect! Truly grateful to have found this hotel after a few days of unpleasant stays elsewhere. Would 100% recommend this place.

DO NOT BOOK HERE.
Update: When the staff in your review reply are trying to portray you as a liar should put you off booking!
Unprofessional.
I booked for 3 nights at this hotel. To sum up: terrible it was a nightmare. We had several problem in a more than antique room. No solution from the reception. Moreover and the worst, they are allegedly lying to us saying that they are going to change the room and when we arrive it’s not possible anymore. The “manager” said that we can have a refund when we ask for the refund they said “we are going to call the police”. They went that far to call the police on us when we are 3 girls just asking to be treated with respect and according to the money we pay. We also in defense had to call the police because they dragged us outside of the hotel and we were treated so badly, I have never experience that in my life. Do not come here because you’ll be treating really badly and they are so many nice people in the island of Corfu but not at Folies.
Bad services: terrible room not look like the pictures. The AC working bad and water on the floor. Room smell humidity and mod. Kitchen dirty and so ancient. WC not flushing. A lot of insects in the room. WIFI not working not even 4g. The pool is dirty. The toilets of the pool are dirty. The sun beds are all broken.

We stayed there for 2 weeks. The rooms, whole settlement and the people are very nice. The bar/cafe is not good enough when compared to the other nice stuff. We rented a car and visited beaches all around, which was easy considering the location of the hotel. You can stay there without hesitation. Ps: you need to do sth about that rooster, it is not ok to yell at 5 am every time :)

We stayed in one of the apartments the first 3 nights. They are super old and in need of tlc!
Lots of ants, shower didnt have a rail, aircon leaking etc.
We moved to one of the new rooms for last 3 nights. This was because the same apartment wasnt available the entire stay the studio was much better! Nice, clean modern. Although there was construction work out back making a noise from 8/9am. It sounded like they were in the room it was do bad! Not great ...
The apartments are outside old town but we found the public buses reliable ( although the seem to move to hourly later in day). Its not easy to get to the nicer beaches via public transport so to stay here you probably need a car or just stay near the other beaches. It is close to the airport though which is a bonus. Limited restaurants near by but there are supermarkets and bakery
Has a pool - nothing fancy! No umbrellas to shade from sun and lots of broken loungers. Pool bar defo wasnt 24/7, served limited food and the guy manning it was miserable.
Katie Cockburn — Google review
Very nice and clean apartment. Well designed with 2 balconies. The territory and the pool are inundated with green, flowers, trees and grass. 🌸 There is a bar next to the pool were you can order drinks and food. 🌅 The position of the hotel is 10 min in bus from old town. 1,5 km from bus station, 2 km from airport, but…. There is only a bus line that deserves that area. Buses 1 in an hour. ‼️ Very difficult to go to the airport or bus station. You should always call a taxi!

Today I called the people of this Holy place to arrange a night of stay in the monastery.
I could easily stay in a hotel and this is not the matter...
The sensation of staying in a divine place was that I was looking for.
I was so wrong...
A non kind guy replied to my call and also told me that there is no place for my small dog in their place.
So sorry for the experience I had and thank you for blocking my way towards you. I had a completely wrong idea about you.
There is no scenario I can control on earth that can separate me from my loyal friend.
May God spare you enlightment.
Jesus was just right again.

The Monastery of Proussos was named from the Icon of Panagia Prousiotissa from Proussa in Minor Asia. It is a historic building that has kept expanding due to donations. The location is impressive and it can get very busy as buses arrive from all over the world to visit this. We loved the old clock and the oldest part of the monastery. One star less as it looked more like a business modern monastery that does not fit with the older part of the church. Still architectonically it is beautiful and you should definitely visit it.

Very beautiful monastery in a special location. It's amazing the feeling you get when you get there and face it. We enjoyed the view, we learned the history of the monastery from a monk who wanted to explain it to us. Information: Better not to bother the monks unless they show you they are available. Some are there to get away from other people and get closer to god through prayer.

This was our second ABC with Nisos, once again the arrangements and yacht (Amelie) were faultless. The Nisos team are fantastic - friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We (seven of us) had a lovely week sailing - our lead boat crew (Rick and Amy) made sure we had a safe, easy moorings (especially with one stormy night forecast!) We then spent four days relaxing at Villa Nisos just outside Nidri, which was perfect - a beautiful location (spectacular views!) with a lovely pool and comfortable rooms. We will be back!

Just perfect! - I could leave it at that but it would be completely unfair not to mention some of the star individuals at Nisos that made our holiday so special. Booking the charter through Rowan was simply a joy - no hard sell and at times quite entertaining. Our yacht for the week was Scotch Pi, superbly equipped and spotlessly clean (a big thank you to the team that prepared the boat). A massive thank you to Rick and Amy on the lead boat who were always on hand and went the extra mile to make sure our sailing experience was stress free and just totally awesome! I'm sorry I can't give a name check to everyone who made our holiday so special, but rest assured that we are already planning our 2024 trip so we will see you all next year. Look forward to seeing you soon, John and Linda.

We chartered the Athos for a week in June 2022 and hired a skipper.
1. The booking process was easy. Rowan was very responsive and professional. He answered all of our questions and helped us book a transfer to Athens after our week sailing.
2. The boat -Athos - was beautiful. It’s very well maintained and spotless. You can see a difference in the top notch maintenance of the Nisos boats compared to other boats in harbor.
3. We stayed the night at the Armonia (their base). It is well equipped and the hotel staff is very friendly. Kate and Brian greeted us on Sunday and ensured we were well informed and very comfortable as we waited to embark on our boat. Kate went above and beyond assisting us with retrieving a bag that arrived a day late. She worked with her transport company to run it to us as soon as it arrived Sunday. Had we waited on British Airways to deliver, we would have had to wait another day to leave port.
4. The trip was everything we hoped for and more. Our skipper Rich was incredible. He made us feel safe and helped us decide our itinerary. He helped us plan the perfect week! He is such an interesting person and awesome human. We enjoyed every moment we shared with him during the week.
If you are planning a sailing trip on the Ionian, choose Nisos. You won’t regret it. We will definitely be back. We miss the whole team and the islands already!

This was not the first time we had booked through Nissos. This time we had a week’s sailing booking with Nissos on the boat Hearts Desire. Every step of the way through the booking process to getting us onto the boat was absolutely first class. We could not have hoped for a better experience.
Arriving to pick up the boat, with an initial boat and location briefing by Brian, was brilliant. Exceptionally detailed and all of our questions were answered without falter. We have sailed the Ionian many times and still learnt of new places to visit.
Boarding the boat was like stepping onto a brand new boat which had never been sailed, such was the level of attention to detail re the cleanliness and setup. We had preordered wine which was waiting on the boat for us and assistance with a local shopping trip made stocking up with provisions effortless.
The holiday was wonderful and Hearts Desire is a dream to sail. We did have one slight hickup, we could not find the shore power lead! Although a quick phone call and Mark from Nissos was at the boat within 45 mins with a replacement. Although I must confess the power lead was always on the boat, I had not looked under the water hose. Completely my fault. Everything else was as perfect as it could get.
Our final day we were flying back late in the day with BA and Nissos, Kate, arranged a hire car for us so we could explore inland. Brian provided some very useful tips of places to explore and we stumbled on a fantastic restaurant in Karya.
Overall we did not want to go back home everything was so perfect. I could not recommend Nissos enough. We are already planning next years booking with Nissos.

We have just had a fabulous week sailing on Hestia, Nisos’s new Bavaria 46. This boat is a little different to most of their fleet in that she has a fully battened slab reefing mainsail, rather than the more normal in mast furling and also a full-length keel, rather than a shorter shoal draft keel. The fully battened mainsail is 10 sqm larger than it’s in mast furling version and has great shape and real power, which we found very useful in the lighter winds which can prevail in the mornings in this area. On a beat, the keel gives real bite and in 15 knots of wind on a full rig we were achieving 6-7 knots with course made good of 35-45 degrees, a great performance for a cruising yacht. 16 to 17 knots on a beat and it was time for the first reef in the mainsail, which still kept great shape. She happily sailed full rig on a beam reach from Fiscardo to Sivota in 16-20 knots of wind regularly reaching 10 knots, in fact we tacked back when we arrived to enjoy another hour of sailing.
Hoisting and dropping the main is simpler than may be expected, so long as we followed one basic rule…Keep the boat head to wind throughout the process…Dropping the nose off the wind by 20 to 30 degrees started to tighten up the mast track “cars” and so increased the friction, but once we worked this out, hoisting, lowering and reefing were a piece of cake. One great tip is to have a crew member “sweat” the main halyard at the bottom of the mast whilst another crew pulls in round the cockpit winch, leaving only the top 2-3 feet to finally winch using the winch handle. This proved a very quick and efficient way to get the mainsail up.
What else did we like? The large bathing platform, an idyllic Ionian afternoon swim and sunbathing area, also remote control so that we could close the boat transom when leaving her on a quay. The Bavaria twin rudder system, gives a highly responsive helm even in stronger winds. The cockpit, a sizable work area when sailing and a fantastic al-fresco dining area. The superbly equipped galley. The Rocna anchor as specified on all Nisos Boats and with 100m of chain, wow these anchors bite!! The huge cabins all with standing headroom (yes even the aft cabins) and masses of ventilation. The high level of specification which is also a trademark of Nisos with Garmin chart plotter, autopilot, wind instruments, fenders and mooring/longlines as you would specify for your own boat and a high quality Hypalon dinghy and outboard in pristine condition. The main engine was clean, quiet and happily pushed her along, giving 6 knots at a very relaxed 1750 rpm (but it was far more fun to sail).
Oh, and we set out to write a boat review, but let’s not forget the Nisos staff (UK and Greece). Nothing was too much trouble, all our arrangements (which were somewhat complicated earlier in the week) had been pre-arranged faultlessly (many thanks to Rowan and Kate). The boat was turned out immaculately (many thanks to Laurie and his friendly and helpful shore team) and we were even supplied with phone numbers for friendly taverna owners who would reserve us a mooring space.
So, if you’re a keen sailor and fancy a bit of the Ionian high life, with a large dollop of top class service and a boat that you will delight you for your stay, look no further…
Did we have any complaints…Yes, the heavens opened as we were returning the boat to base…Now there’s a challenge for you Nisos, we know you are good…
Happy sailing.

From the first moment to the last they loved it!

Our recent charter in June with our wonderful clients was simply brilliant, hugely supported by the first class service that Nisos YC provides.
As always, the yacht was presented to a very high standard.
The whole Nisos YC team are always professional, friendly and extremely helpful and with great attention to detail.

Just got back from a week on the Assisted Bareboat Charter (ABC).
Other previous reviews sum it up really well but just to add...
Communication on pricing, payment and logistics - 100%
Service on arrival - 100%
Service during sailing - 100%
Departure arrangements - 100%
Rowan has put together a superb team that are attentive and supportive when you need them but understand the need to give you space both on and off the boat.
The great thing about the ABC service is that they can get you into the the harbours hassle-free, even escorting you in by dinghy and they are there on the qauyside ready to help if you need it which is a major bonus in some of the busier places.
Big shout out to Meg, Mikey and Alex for their local knowledge, advice and general good humour throughout the week. Big shout also to the base crew who gave us a very special welcome and were always on-hand should you need them.
We have been on other flotillas and there is honestly no comparison. The "all inclusive" nature of the pricing means there are no unexpected charges like outboards, fuel, etc. and there is no pressure to join group meals or forced entertainment.
If you are thinking of doing a flotilla or bareboat, or skippered charter look no further... these guys have got it so right, you will not be disappointed.

We are just back from the most wonderful week sailing around the South Ionian with Nisos for our Honeymoon. The whole Nisos Team were fantastic, from the ease and reassurance of booking from Rowan in the UK, to the warm welcome back from Kate and Laurie when we arrived in Nidri, to a bottle of fizz and 'just married' flag on the yacht, and lots of friendly help and advice for the rest of the team. We chartered 32ft Bavaria 'Maybe', and she was just perfect for the two of us, in addition to some paddle boards which were great fun. Despite the strict COVID restrictions and additional requirements (temperature checking every day and wearing facemasks) we had a truly memorable break and will look forward to chartering with Nisos again as soon as possible! Thanks again to all! With Love, Helena & Adam Harris

Arta's Bridge
Historical place
Sights & Landmarks
Bridges
Rebuilt river crossing dating to Roman times, famed for inspiring a popular folk song & proverbs.
Very beautiful picturesque and iconic monument, which you can walk on. Awesome views of the river. The highest point of the bridge gives some quite relaxing vibes.
Haris Krikelis — Google review
It is a fantastic 17th century AD stone bridge of the Arachthos River and it is the most famous sight to see in Arta. It is the most famous bridge in Greece because of its beauty and of the legend about the so-called "sacrifice of the master builder's wife" in order for it to be built. According to the well-known folk song, 1300 masons, 60 students, 45 craftsmen under the Chief Master, tried to build the bridge whose foundations were destroyed every morning. The length of the stone bridge of Arta reaches 145 meters while its width is 3.75 meters. Platanos tree on one side is considered to be around 350 years old. It is enormous.
fraus legi — Google review
Stopped by Arta just to visit this bridge. Sat by the cafe with a very old tree to enjoy the view and an espresso. Life is indeed very good.

The city of Arta, Greece is a modern, historical and very traditional city at the same time, in the regional place of Epirus, West Greece. The monumental stone bridge of the city was built between 5th and 4th century B.C.E. its nowadays shape, formed 1602 and 1606 A.C.E. its length is 142 m and it s fully stone constructed. It bridges the Araxthos river, which crosses the city, providing a relaxing and natural feeling. It can travel your imagination through roman and byzantine era, all the way to the ottoman empire and the greek revolution on independence, of which it was the natural border at that time, between Greece and Turkey. Take your time around the cafes to drink a coffee, and buy local souvenirs and sweets.
The municipality should take in mind to renew and clean more, the sourrounding area to be more eco friendly and touristic alike
Infinito Infini — Google review
The myth of legendary bridge of Arta.
A song is written about this bridge, the myth says that all day they were building it, at at night it would fall. The first builders wife had to be sacrificed in order for the bridge to complete.
Other then the myth, it’s a landmark of the city, took its final form in 1612. However, the foundations of the bridge show that in this place there was a bridge as early as classical or Hellenistic times. The last addition was made in the times of the Ottoman domination, when the pavement was raised, so the bridge took on its current appearance. Its current appearance is the culmination of many occasional additions and reconstructions of the original building. The structure itself and the way it was constructed testify to the various phases of completion of the project and lead us to the starting point of its history.
Evangelia Ioakimidou — Google review
The Bridge of Arta is a remarkable picturesque stone bridge over the Arachthos river in the west side of the city.
It has been rebuilt many times over the centuries, starting with the Roman era. The current bridge is an Ottoman construction from the17th-century.
In 1881, when Arta was liberated, the bridge was a part of the border between Greece and Turkey. The two-storey neoclassical building on the west end of the bridge, (nowadays, the Folklore Museum), was built in 1864 by an Austrian architect and was originally used as a Turkish customs office.
Bottom line:
Highly recomended spot for everyone who plans to visit Epirus district. You can take a break in one of the nice taverns around and enjoy the beauty of this beautiful historical bridge!!

Quite an enjoyable walk, we came here at night and found a restaurant to stay at. The water was flowing rather quickly creating a really relaxing splashing sound. If you're in the area I'd recommend to visit. Also make sure to check out the bridge's history!

The bridge of Arta is one of the most famous Greek bridges, known for its architectural perfection and
the famous legend of the master builder’s wife who had to be sacrificed for the bridge to be strengthened.
It's a beautiful stone bridge that crosses the Arachthos river in the west of the city of Arta. It consists of four large non-symmetrical semicircular arches supported by large abutments over which dominate the vaults. Its width is 3.75 m and its length 145 m.
Apart from an architectural monument, it is also a historic monument. In 1881, when Arta was liberated, the bridge was the border between free Greece and Turkish-occupied Greece.
It has been rebuilt many times over the centuries. The bridge was constructed during Ancient Roman times. According to some traditions it was built when Arta became capital of the Despotate of Epirus, possibly under Michael II Doukas (1230-1271). Other alleged construction dates vary from 1602 to 1606.
ERMIONI MITSIOU — Google review
A nice place to stop off for a leg stretch. The history here is worth looking into as it’s been repaired many times throughout history and pieces have fallen away or been added. There is an information board to explain everything on the north side.
Lift_Run_Eat_ — Google review
It is an interesting monument (check on Google for more details about its construction).
There are coffee shops around it.
You can actually walk on this bridge.
If you want to take a full picture with the bridge it's better if you are across on the driving bridge, but this is tricky because you have to stop the car and take your photo. 😁

Impresive gorges near Nidri. We visited at the end of September and they were not crowded. The waterfall was almost dry but you could still take a bath at it's base.
Anca Bosinceanu — Google review
Very nice and climatic place. You need to walk around 10-15 minutes to reach the place from the parking place. There is a lot of people be aware. I had a plan to get into the water while being there, but when I reached the destination I decided not too. The waterfall is too small (not enough rain) and water is simply dirty as there is not enough to run fast.
Lukasz De — Google review
We went there in september, and there is no water. I heard that the best time is in may or june. Where you park you need to walk around 10-15 min.

There is a beautiful natural path that you have to walk to find this waterfall. It is an easy path so you will not get tired. In summer there is not so much water but if you go in spring it is magnificent. There is a parking place at the entrance and also you will find a cafe that you can sit.
Κώστας Ζήνωνος — Google review
The natural water pool is mesmerising, cold and of a deep tropical blue. The cold water is very comforting, expecially in the hot summer. It is a MUST if you are nearby.

Perfect place for a little hiking in the nature. Dont expect a lot of water during summer months (july-august) but still a majestic location!
Pefkoulia beach, located in the beautiful island of Lefkada, is a stunning sandy shore with crystal clear turquoise waters and a peaceful atmosphere. Positioned against a hillside, this picturesque coastline boasts an idyllic scenery of pine trees and mountains. The beach is easily accessible by car and offers nearby amenities for convenience. Visitors can expect to marvel at the mix of white sand and pebbles that make up its shoreline while enjoying the pristine waters.
One of the best beaches in Lefkada, not so crowded, the seashore gets steep pretty quickly, the waves depend on the wind, so go there on a sunny not windy day if you want to swim. It s a pretty virgin beach, not so many sunbeds, come here with an umbrella if you want some shade after 12:00.
Stefania — Google review
Accesible beach with small stones. Free parking couple meters from beach and you also have parking right to the beach but it s charged. You can rent sunbeds and umbrelas (10e). It was really windy and the waves were huge so it was impossible to swim.

Parking is small. No charge.

Tne beach is average, because there it is really windy and the waves were very huge so it is impossible to swim.
If you want to relax, to have sea view and listen to the waves, then this place is excellent for you.

One of the most beautiful and underrated beaches in Lefkada. Beautiful scenery, very green and full of vegetation, especially from the water. Nice turquoise water, can be experimented without the water shoes. Recommend the right side, quiet, with your own umbrella, snacks and drinks. Easy accessible, no stairs or climbing involved. Deck is a tourist trap.
There's a nice spot for watching the sunset up the road, near it.

Awesome insights into the Roman and Byzantine era of this part of Greece, focusing on the ancient town of Nicopolis (nowadays continued by modern Preveza). Adults pay 8 €, kids are free, and the tickets can also be used for the nearby archeological sites which offer well restored ruins, mosaics and more from ancient Nicopolis.
A must see for Lefkada/Lefkas visitors, or people travelling in the area.

4th of May 2022.
The Averoff Museum of Neohellenic Art was opened during August 1988. It has the permanent exhibition and many others from time to time. The permanent exhibition has 250 works by the major Greek painters, printmakers and sculptors of the 19th and 20th century, like Fasianos, Egonopoulos, Lytras, Volanakis, Parthenis, Hadjikyriakos-Ghikas, Moralis and many more.
Two of the paintings that we used to ‘meet’ in our books at school, there are also there. These two are: the dude eating his watermelon of 1880 (ο μάγκας που τρώει καρπούζι) from Pantazis Periklis and the burning of the Turkish flagship by Kanaris (Η πυρπόληση της τουρκικής ναυαρχίδας από τον Κανάρη) of 1873 by Lytras Nikiforos.
Still life is alternating with colorful landscapes and angelic faces are alternating with sad ones in this museum full of history, that you should not miss.
Of course, for those who seek the unexpected, there is the room with the modern means of expression. Take a look and enjoy.
Tip: Do not miss the room with Metsovo’s history unfolding through photos.

The Folklore Museum of the Tositsa Foundation (Tositsa Mansion) has been operating since 1955. The museum includes traditional wood-carved furniture, textiles and embroidery and many gold-embroidered costumes. Furthermore, it has decorative and useful objects like weapons from 1821, coins, agricultural utensils and post-Byzantine icons of the period 1650-18.
I amazed by few exhibits I want to let you know to show you how they used to organize and operate a Metsovo mansion.
-The barger’s skin, which they used as a changing-table for babies.
-The huge crab legs using as a tsipouro glass in order to dazzle their visitors, since up in the mountains only few people had already seen the ocean.
-They key of the pantry. The oldest woman-yiayia of the house was holding the pantry key and it was locked. In that way, they wanted to ensure that winter supplies would not be stolen.
- 300 and 400 year old horse gold-embroidery saddles inside the stables.
- The source of water, which was located inside the lower floor of the house to avoid going outside during the polar winter temperatures.
-Last but not least, I am amazed by the office of Evangelos Averoff with his glasses and hi political speech written in cigarettes’ box.
A big thank you to kind Thodoris that he is like a moving encyclopedia regarding the Tositsa mansion and he gave me all this useful information during the tour at the museum. Thank you because he was so patient to answer all my questions willingly and with kindness.

Such a unique experience, the museum is very interesting. You can understand how the life was years ago and especially how a rich was living. It is remarkable how this family has helped this place to develop and became part of the history. Inside the museum there are also a couple of religious pictures from 18th century. As our guide told us, it is a museum inside the museum. The tour guide was very kind, helpful and willing to explain to us every detail. Series of waxwork dioramas created by sculptor Pavlos Vrellis & recreating events in Greek history.
This privately run museum was created by a single person, Pavlos Vrellis, who was passionate about Greek History. You will see several exceptionally made wax sculptures, representing several historical figures. The gruesome period before and after the Greek Independence War in 1821 is well represented.
While Greek people will be familiar with (most of) these personalities, there is very little background information in English. The tour guides will offer a few details, but it's a good idea to study the museum's comprehensive website before visiting.
Tickets cost 6 euros. Photography is explicitly not allowed, due to the grim nature of many of the exhibits.

The personages seems not so "real" and if you are "claustrophobic " its not a good idea to go here you are in the dark and it's cold and some personages move her eyes to look at you ... you don't feel so relax and you can not take photography and if you take the security gonna follow you on your back until the end like you have killed someone or like you have do the one abominable think it's stupid and crazy because in England you have the same thing and better with all the cinema star and you can take photos and touch the personages and it's seems more real it's stupid !
gabrielle fayt — Google review
A well built and impressively staged collection of wax models, inspired by the Greek history. The way the exhibits are presented is original and really gets the visitor in the right mood.
On the other hand, there were at least two things I considered negative. The first one, is the lack of a guided tour, which is up to a point understandable because of the narrow spaces, the existence of lots of stairs and the details given on tags for each exhibit. As a result, although missing, I would not say that a guided tour is "needed" at least for the majority of visitors.
The most important drawback, in my personal opinion, is the prohibition of taking photos in the museum, for no obvious reason. Furthermore, the visitor is not informed for the prohibition in advance (when buying the ticket) but at the museum entrance, after he has already paid for it.
The whole prohibition makes the experience less complete and certainly does not help spreading the experience publicly.
Having visited many museums globally, this prohibition seems to be a bad "habit" in Greek museums, for no obvious reason.

Pamvotida (Pamvotis in Ancient Greek:the great provider) with a surface of 22.8 sqm/km is not only the largest lake of Epirus but the second oldest lake in Europe. Two bryozoan species have recently been reported from the lake. You
The lake is supplied by the springs of Mount Mitsikeli, of Drabatova, Sendeniko and Krya. The waters usually calm freeze occasionally. You would see locals and tourists alike to spend sunny summer days on its shores, walk next to the lake or having a meal/drink in the local restaurants, coffee shops, snack bars while enjoying the view.
There are thick reed beds around the lakeside as well as dense thickets of willows, poplar trees and huge plane trees which offer shelter from the wind to host local and migrational birds. Herons, grebe, snipe, swans and cormorants add to the natural beauty of the area. Lake Pamvotida is also home to Tsima (Τσίμα), a species of fish endemic to the lake.
In the center of the Lake Pamvotida, there is a picturesque island with many small monasteries, which can easily be visited because of the close distance between them. They were mainly built during the 13th century, when after the fall of Constantinople by the Franks in 1204 aristocratic families of the Byzantine capital, such as the family of Philanthropinoi, the Stratigopoulos, etc. fled here and founded the Despotate of Epirus. The monasteries reached their pick in the 16th century and their decline and desolation at the beginning of the 19th century when Ali Pasha, the Ottoman ruler of the area, trespassed the monasteries wealth and inflicted heavy taxation upon the residents. In 1822, in one of the cells of the Monastery of Panteleimon on the island the legendary Ali Pasha of Ioannina left his last breath. It was the outcome of his resistance to resign his official his official post as ordered by Sultan Mahmut II. To go to the island take one of the boats at Molos and in approximately six minutes you will reach your destination.

Ioannina, Greece
I'll never travel to Brindisi without this trip planner again
The Castle of Ioannina is a captivating fortress in the heart of an old town, showcasing architectural influences from both Byzantine and Ottoman eras. It features two citadels and several history museums, offering visitors an insight into its rich historical significance. The surrounding streets are adorned with picturesque homes, motels, and coffee shops that add to its charm. Accessible on foot from Ioannina lake, the castle also boasts spectacular views of the water body from atop.
One of the most beautiful cities in Greece!
Ioannina is the largest city in Epirus and a much-loved getaway for Greeks throughout the year. It has a unique atmosphere (especially when Lake Pamvotida is covered in its famous early-morning mist) and is full of cobbled streets and historic buildings, as well as museums and monuments linked to the Ottoman occupation and in particular Ali Pasha, the all-powerful late-18th and early-19th century ruler in this parts. And at the same time, it’s a student city, with a modern side and great nightlife and eating scene. Most getaways to Ioannina are for around 2-3-days (but we’re proposing longer), especially as it’s so close to the mountain villages and nature spots of Epirus, including the Zagori villages and Vikos Gorge and Parga and Sivota whose vibe and sandy beaches give them an island feel on the mainland.
The past and present combine effortlessly in Ioannina. On the one hand, it has preserved its cultural heritage and on the other, it has embraced student life. So every getaway to Ioannina should start with a city walk, just to soak up the atmosphere and check out the tavernas, shops and parks you’ll be enjoying during your stay. Oh, and don’t forget the nightlife spots.
A good place to start is Clock Tower, a city landmark built in the lower town in 1906 and relocated to the Park of Heroes (including the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier) by Dimokratias Square in 1918. From here, it’s a short walk to Litharitsia Park, where you’ll find the Veli Pasha Building Complex (with a mosque, a madrasa and auxiliary buildings), which was part of a palace built by Ali Pasha for his son, and the Litharitsia Fortress, with a rooftop restaurant/bar that has a view of the whole city.
An absolute must among the things to do in Ioannina is to explore its fortified old town, known as Ioannina Castle. Built on the banks of Lake Pamvotida, it is the oldest continuously inhabited Byzantine castle in Greece, although Hellenistic-era artefacts have also been found here. It contains some of Ioannina’s most historical buildings, the most famously belonging Ali Pasha, who rule a semi-autonomous state encompassing much of Greece and Albania from Ioannina from 1787-1822.
The Castle of Ioannina refers to two fortified parts, a walled northeastern citadel created in Byzantine times when it featured a palace and church dedicated to Saint John were replaced in the 17th-century Aslan Pasha Mosque complex, and Its Kale (the Inner Fortress) a southeastern enclave with separate walls and gates containing Ali Pasha’s palace other buildings.

Great place to visit and many things to discover. Nice location of both historical and traditional significance. At walking distance from Ioannina lake.

A great area to explore for free. The grounds have some interesting buildings and histories. There are some museums you can get a combination ticket to. We opted to go the the silversmith museum which was great.

The castle and the adjacent lake are what make Ioannina a beatiful hidden gem untouched by flocks of tourists.

Huge castle. Very nice walk through the narrow streets within the castle. Beautiful tiny traditional houses. Museum is also nice and very informative. A huge historic site and info about Ali Pasha. Cool destination for a family day.

Very important piece of history and Very well maintained, once you get of the ferry you step into a different era with graphic streets and buildings , I really hope it stays that way for ever. ..

The castle of Ioannina is a very beautiful place to see. It has beautiful small streets and beautiful homes to see. It also has beautiful small motels and beautiful coffee shops to visit. Outside the wall it has souvenir shops and it's right next to the lake. From the top of the city you have a very beautiful view of the lake. It is worth your time to see. Keep in mind, you have to park outside the castle. Only people living in it can enter.

Very nice area. I liked the hood and the historical monument
Skander Gh — Google review
The castle is very well preserved. The museum and the mosque as well as the tomb of Ali Pasha for sure deserve the visit. The 3 monuments are at the top of the castle but in the small streets towards it you will find some places to drink or eat something. The view from the top is great.

Nice place for a walk in the internal area. You will have a privileged view from the lake in the external superior area and acess to nice restaurants on the street level access.
Acheron, located in the Parga region of Thesprotia, is a stunning natural attraction known for its crystal-clear waters and breathtaking scenery. Visitors can enjoy activities such as rafting, kayaking, swimming, and horse riding along the river. The area also offers opportunities to savor local delicacies like trout from the Acheron or Louros rivers and Arta eel.
Absolutely stunning place. Please visit here if you are nearby, you wont regret it!!

"Are you far from the river?". Our trip to the River Acheron was the highlight of our recent holiday in Parga. It is a truly extraordinary experience which I will never forget. The water is refreshingly cold and it gets so deep at points at the Gorge that you may have to swim. There is also rafting, kayaking and horse riding. There are plenty of places to eat in Acheron, beautiful open-air stores and bathroom facilities.

Great experience for everyone.
Waters are cold at the start , but after awhile it does not matter. If you want to reach the end do not bring a bag with you because there is a spot that you must swim for about 29 meters and your stuff will be soaking wet. Rafting is for the kids as the river is so slow !!!

1 star. I was having a good time at this river when this weird electronic music started playing and a guy who kept calling himself zoink started chasing me. I almost died trying to jump over these 4 spikey rocks but somehow made it with this picture-frame perfect leap. the guy kept spouting nonsense about "the thermodynamics of club monsters" and "doggie smashes his keyboard" until I finally got away from him. I got back to my car at one point, and as soon as I was about to step in, I heard some shout "RATE MY LEVEL ROBTOP" off in the distance. overall bad experience.

Lichnos Beach Hotel & Suites
Resort hotel
Outdoor Activities
Airy rooms & suites in a polished beachfront property offering an outdoor pool & 2 restaurants.
We spent 5 days there in August 2021. In general it was very good experience! Clean and spacious rooms. Excellent view from almost all of them. The hotel has a playground and even staff for entertaining the kids. So it is really family friendly in that respect. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent. The only improvement point I would recommend is the bar/restaurant. The personnel was inexperienced and the food was not according to what one expects from a 5-star hotel. It seemed to me that the bar-restaurant staff started working there only that day. They had no clue about their job. Missing or wrong orders etc. Other that that, I would recommend this hotel, mostly to families. Needles to mention that the beach and the sea are of the most beautiful in the area.

Dear Hotel Team, Management
We had a wonderful holiday with you. But:
You have lovely hotel kittens, cats and all your staff are very lovely with them. We have fallen very much in love with the cats and are very sad to know that winter is coming and suddenly their whole world will be turned upside down. From an abundant food supply to nothing. Wouldn't it make sense to neuter the cats, treat them medically (dander, fleas, etc.) and give them a simple home for the winter, a little bit of food and water that would be incredibly progressive and an incredible upgrade for a hotel in your class! We are sure that the next time your guests will be happy to see familiar cat faces. If it is not financially viable, a charity pot for your cats would be useful. We are sure everyone would be happy to pay something into it.
Thank you and best regard Nina and Philip

Magnificent location with luxurious hotel facilities and amenities. A beachfront small paradise with crystal waters at West Greek mainland some 4 hrs driving from Athens.
Excellent service offered by well trained and friendly personnel including but not limited to in-house Restaurant and beach bar quality service. Great breakfast and gourmet dishes for launch and dinner.
Spent 10 days in June 2021 with my wife and our 9 months old baby..surely our best holidays ever. We will be definitely visiting again this lovely resort soon!

This is not a 5-star hotel: the bathroom is dirty, we had a food poisoning this year, and the check-out was very stressful because our transfer was late and the ladies at the front desk were rude to us and other customers. One lady kept saying "no worries, you're in Greece", which is the exact reason why I am worried because in Greece punctuality is not a priority. Also the price of water and food was very high at the hotel. Not coming back.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at your hotel, and while I found the overall experience pleasant, there are a few aspects that I feel require your attention.
Firstly, I would like to commend the hotel itself, as it provided a comfortable and enjoyable stay. However, considering the range of services offered, I must express my concern regarding the pricing. In my opinion, the current rates seem very high relative to the services provided.
One particular area that warrants consideration is the beach facilities. Although having an ample number of sunbeds may seem beneficial, I believe it poses an issue for a hotel of this size. The overcrowding of sunbeds and the close proximity of individuals prevent guests from truly relaxing and enjoying the beach experience. This specific aspect of your service, offered at a relatively high cost, is the primary reason behind my criticism.
Regrettably, due to the aforementioned concerns, I find myself unable to recommend your hotel to others at this time. I believe addressing these issues and ensuring a more balanced offering would greatly enhance the overall guest experience.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust that you will consider these points constructively and take appropriate action to improve the hotel's services and beach facilities.

Great location, however, cost me a small fortune in taxis every day getting too and from Parga harbour. I have read there is a complimentary bus but wasn't running.
Not too sure we wasn't allowed to use the first 2 rows of sunbeds without any explanation other then our room number.,which is insulting as I paid a lot of money for a suite.
Definitely not a place if you have walking disabilities.
The female waiting staff were very nice, however the males were generally miserable, maybe it was just a thing towards people from great Britain.

📍Good points.
Good location near the beach.
Nice view.
Nice staff.
📍Bad points,
▶️Where we went to the Reception the price that was offered 1 day before was changed (a call was made by us and a call was made by a Greek friend of ours from Lefkada to make sure).
The room left something to be desired, the glass toilet door is not practical. The price does not justify the quality.!

Location is outstanding; in a lovely quiet bay about 5km from Parga. Hotel has a fantastic beach with plenty of sunloungers for all guests. Food was varied, though a little cold at times (this was probably to do with the hotel not being full). Service was okay, but slow at times in the restaurant; the beach staff were working tirelessly! Soft drink prices are too expensive - €6.50 for a 250ml coke/fanta; 1l of water was €4. This meant many people did not go to the bar after dinner which led to no atmosphere after dark. Wine was good quality with a price to match. Coral restaurant next door is worth a visit for local fish at reasonable prices. Mini mart by the camp site offers beer and soft drinks at normal price.
Beautiful quiet hotel, let down by drinks pricing strategy leading to non-existent evening atmosphere.
pete fletcher — Google review
Recently returned from a weeks stay at this superb venue. Booked as a package holiday for 3 adults from the UK. We were very impressed with almost all aspects of the hotel, the only downside being the warm not hot food sometimes found at the restaurant, not too unusual for a buffet. If you're looking for a totally relaxed vacation this is the place to head for. South facing beach allows for plenty of sun worship time (when it's shining), from the slightly angled sun beds on the beach. Access from the main road to Parga/Preveza is pretty steep and not recommended for those with mobility issues. A €9 taxi ride will take you to Parga town centre, easily booked by the guys on reception - note; only 10 licenced taxis in Parga.
I would very much like to return in the near future for another dose of peace and quiet, and be happy to recommend to others likewise. *A special mention to Alexandra for all the assistance she gave us during our stay, very kind thank you.

We stayed at the hotel for 11 nights in September 2023.
The Service is ok, although the reception staff are very efficient, the restaurant/bar staff are friendly and willing but not fully attentive or engaged as you would expect from a 5 star hotel. On many occasions we had to make a concerted effort to grab someone’s attention.
The Food is good although lukewarm on most occasions.
The rooms although clean are below average, (the shower/toilet was so small that there is no space for a wash basin (which is therefore in the main bedroom).
The beach is beautiful (the hotel brochure gives the impression that the beach is exclusive to the hotel but it is a crowded beach with other buildings on either side of the hotel) but the whole experience is ruined by the number of hotel sun beds (more than required even at full capacity) which left a feeling that guests are almost piled onto each other.
Overall an enjoyable stay but in my opinion this is not a 5 star experience. The glossy hotel photos/website give a different impression which inevitably leads to some disappointment.

Food was good, hotel and staff very nice. Just felt a bit isolated. Water taxis were hit and miss due to bad weather and as the hotel is at the bottom of 13 hairpin bends the only way out was by taxi which was simple enough but added up.
Room was very nice but there was a drains smell at times.
Biggest negative is the price of drinks.
All in all probably wouldn't go back.

We have spent a week at the hotel in an executive suite and it's been one of the most enjoyable holidays we have had. The hotel is excellent from check in, to the bar and restaurant service, through to the lovely cleaners who ensure your room is spotless. We stayed in room 3002 and the seaview was stunning, as were the lovely gardens. The restaurant buffet on a half board basis offers a wide choice of food and all are very nice and it gives you the opportunity to try different things. The drinks prices were perhaps a little steep, but a small price to pay for staying in such a lovely hotel and location. We will definitely return. Thanks to all the staff who made our stay so memorable.

We have just returned from 1 week stay and the overall experience and stay was excellent. From check in experience with Alexandra - Guest relations and staff across the restaurant/bar to Housekeeping and Andreas - Beach Manager was faultless. All the staff were always pleasant and coudl not do enough to ensure your stay was a happy experience.
Only aspect is that the location is sligh distance away from Parga town with no shuttle service , therefore water taxi or taxi services is required.
We were allocated a ground floor room located nearest to the beach which was great - however we did have to raise a concern of the amount of children playing on the grass area at night beyond 11pm resulting in not being able to have an relaxing evening on our terrace. This was quickly dealt with by Alexandra and they have know set some guidelines in place to respect other guests stay.
Aside from that the stay was great with breakfast/dinner buffet being of great choice and also lunch/dinner a la carte menu was varied
Casual beachfront hotel featuring airy accommodations, plus 2 open-air restaurants with bars.
Stayed for 2 night's in October, end of season and quiet which worked well for us, staff were lovely and helpful. Lovely Hotel with amazing views of the beach, booked and paid for a sea view room with a balcony. Room was clean, shower quite low down and had to hold to use. Lots of sun loungers around the pool and beach. Lovely breakfast included with an omlette bar. 10 min walk to Praga along the beach but up a steep hill with steps. Ate in restaurant and food was fine. Had a great stay here.

I would like to draw attention to the ''chair manager - Νικος'' on the beach , to work on communication and improve it. Each guest is important and should be respected.
Namely, I had a really bad situation in which the ''chair manager'' was very rude to me.
I wanted to move to chairs that were closer to the sea, after one family left and they were empty. He showed up behind my back, I didn’t even understand he was a worker there and he just told me ,,this is busy now!'' Without any Hello or some introduction/explanation.
I asked why? He boldly replied - ,,Because I'm the manager here and I can do whatever I want!"
Additionaly, we left €20 even if we didn't spend that money on drinks because our bill didn't amount that much but as a cultural guest I followed the bar rule.
By the way our chairs was in the 3rd row. If your policy is not to accept guests who are not from the hotel or you have some rules, inform everyone nicely, with cultural behavior.
Really really bad for the beach bar imagine!
Thanks

I had the junior suite (olive branch) that was basically a pretty reasonably sized studio flat with a kitchenette, living and dining area. The flat wasn't overlooked and you had no neighbours, so privacy was glorious, as was the view from the room and balcony.
The service from the staff at reception, the restaurants and everything in-between was truly spectacular.
I have a lot of love and time for this hotel and would love to visit it again one day.

Vikos Gorge, located in Epirus, is a natural wonder that was carved over millions of years by the Voidomatis River. It spans 12km and reaches depths of up to 900m, with cliffs and steep drops creating stunning views. The gorge narrows to just 400m at its narrowest point, making it the world's deepest canyon in proportion to its width according to Guinness World Records.

This was absolutely breathtaking. We travelled by car and found the place easily, took a gentle stroll along the route and to the view point which is great. After spending time there we took the path to the left which has been carved from the rock face. Well worth it as long as you are careful because falling off the edge probably means death. I would not recommend the walk for small kids or people scared of heights. The view point is fine for everyone though.
Beach Bar and Restaurant Voutoumi, located on the beautiful island of Antipaxos, offers a delightful dining experience in a picturesque setting. The establishment provides friendly and efficient service, serving delicious food that embodies the essence of beach club vibes. With its fine cuisine and inviting atmosphere, guests can enjoy a meal accompanied by the soothing sounds of music in the background. The aroma of saltwater and sunscreen enhances the sensory experience as patrons indulge in their lunch.
We recently returned from Antipaxos and were eager to leave a review for this fantastic find on the island, just off one of the most idyllic beaches we’ve ever visited. Giannis, the owner, is welcoming and gracious and his team was efficient and made our meals more enjoyable. The food is the the best on the island, without a doubt. A variety of specials, mostly fresh fish, is offered daily, the drinks were fantastic, and the vibe at sunset is truly memorable. Highly recommended.

Friendly, quick service with fine food. Typical beach club vibes, music slightly too loud, smell of salt and sunscreen in your nose as you have lunch. Antipaxoi Voutoumi Beach, Antipaxoi, 490 82, Greece
One of the most beautiful beach spots I've seen. Crystal clear water and white sand beach. Not easy to get there, but absolutely worth it once you get to the place. To get to paralia vrika from Benitses: drive to Lefkimi Port and get the ferry to Paxos. From Paxos, walk from the port to the village and ask information at the small port you find there. Some of the boats just go round the island or stop opposite the beach to allow you to swim. Ask for the ones which are stopping at the beach!

Awesome beach, to relax after a long day of boat traveling. You can either book a tour, a taxi, or rent your own boat to reach Antipaxoi and this beach is one of the first places you should visit.
It has 2 places that you can stay and eat but a lot of people as well. Booking a seat beforehand in one of the restaurants is highly recommended.

Absolutely incredible beach - the water is very clear and the sand so soft and white. You can rent the beach chairs and umbrellas ~€10. We got them from the taverna there and they refund the cost of the chairs if you get lunch from them. So it works out for everyone

What a lovely beach and crystal clear water . I read the reviews before coming here and one person said that it was like the Maldives . I can only agree with that !
It is a small beach with 3 restaurants where you can spend the whole day sunbathing and swimming. It is a Sandy beach so therefore if you snorkel there isn’t that much to see .
Getting there from Corfu was long and expensive ( first boat with Kerkyra lines at 9am for 70€ both ways for one person and then a taxi boat for 20€ both ways at 11 AM for one person ).
I had a bleds at that beach and I am looking forward to come back again.

I would say: SMALL MALDIVES. Clear tirquise water and bright sand. There is no regular boat line to the island of Antipaxos since it is barely populated. Use charter boats from Parga, Sivota or Corfu island, own boat or rent a boat. If you come with your own boat, note that anchoring is prohibited on tha left side of the beach, due to submerged electrical cable. Use the dock on the right side of the beach.

The best beach alongside Voutomi and Mesovrika I’ve ever been to. Fine white sand, amazing view and Caribbean like sea water. A must see! The only negative is that the island is only reachable by boats from Paxos and they are a bit expensive - 20 euro return per person. There is a bar on the beach and the prices are not different than those on Paxos and the sunbeds are free for the customers which is superb!

Idyllic - Taverna has everything you need at a beautiful, natural setting like this. Was there early June - busy but still options for sunbeds and seating in tavernas. Incredible water and beach - a feast for the senses!

Beautiful!!! The clearest water ever in Greece. Dont hesitate to visit Antiparos! Stunning views!
Papingo Rock Pools, located between the villages of Megalo and Mikro Papingo in western Zagori, offer a refreshing escape. The clear, somewhat cold water flows down from the mountains, forming natural pools among limestone rocks. Visitors can swim and cool off in these deep pools while surrounded by stunning natural beauty. The area is popular during the summer months and features impressive rock formations throughout.
It is interesting to see how the water has eroded and smoothed out the layered rocks that are characteristic of this whole region. It has shaped the stone to look like it is man made from concrete, but in a very artistic way. Combined with the colour of the water it makes it very pleasing to look at. It is an easy walk for the whole family to enjoy.

Ovires of Rogovo are natural pools in a narrow canyon about 1 km before the village of Mikro Papigo. We visited at the end of winter and it was empty. Lucky us. We wished we had swimwear to jump in the water but we settled for the amazing views and the beautiful surroundings as we went up the stream. It was slippery in some places so some proper shoes are needed. Avoid flip flops. Fantastic rock formations all the way.

Great! Beautiful place, easy to walk, sometimes you need to jump over the pools, not too hard, unless it’s summer time, must visit! Amazing place!

Super fun! The water is rather cool, but not too cold. Especially in the summer it's a very nice place to cool down and relax. You can jump from the rocks, 3 meters down into the water. The rock formations are also very impressive!
Tijl Cockx — Google review
Very nice canyon with clear water. Make sure to go all the way to the end it is a short hike of a maybe 500 meter, it is not well marked and you need to cross sometime from the left to the right bench but overall very easy to find your way and enjoy wonderful views

Somewhat cold, fresh water coming down from the 🏔️ mountains in this beautiful corner of Zafori near, between the small and large Papigko villages.
The man made barriers make a couple of big pools of water where you can swim and refresh your body and soul!
The natural beauty is present in every part of this place.
The water through the years has made its way through the rocks forming this magnificent formations!
Very popular through the summer months.

The water is very low now so you don't get the full effect of the pools being totally full. But it's still beautiful. Easy walk to the pools.

Very beautiful, unique place. Must visit in Zagori area.
There is no problem with parking nearby and it took around 40 minutes to go until end and back.
Make sure you wear non slippery shoes.
Natalia Lilikova — Google review
It's a sight that is worth visiting but I don't recommend swimming in its waters. It's something special and the temperature is a little bit cooler than the villages. There is no ticket to visit it.
Giannis Zapantis — Google review
A great place for cooling off in high summer (when I suspect it gets busy at times) but otherwise a bit lacklustre. What you get to see depends a great deal on when you go and how much water there is. The first pools you encounter are manmade - dams hold the water back to create bathing areas, but when the sluices are open the water is pretty shallow. Penetrate further along the stream into the cleft in the rock and it quickly becomes pretty with interesting vegetation growing out of the walls, but it is difficult to go far without walking in the stream itself, which varies from a trickle to a torrent.
Stephen Cole — Google review
A lot of fun - for free! The water is cold, but that makes it fun and refreshing. Try finding your way to some of the back pools, further from the crowd. It's exciting!
Jelena Djokic — Google review
The drive there is EPIC both in beauty and adrenaline. Due to little rain the pools themselves were pretty,, yet less impressive than expected. The two villages are lovely and all in all we had a wonderful time. Stargazing recommended, saw quote a few shooting stara.

A must visit place in Zogori area!
Rocks and Pools, what a great combination.
Very nice walk with refreshing cold water.
Small beach on the islet of Mourtemeno, reachable from Syvota via a walk through shallow water.
Excellent tiny beach that you can reach via boat or by foot crossing a water space not deep. I suggest to go in the afternoon so that you can enjoy the shadow of the islet's flora. Crystal-clear waters and beautiful surroundings.
Rahbar 68 — Google review
Also overrated (as the blue lagoon). Water quality is for 2 stars actually but the scenery is beautiful, so it takes the 3rd star. I do not understand the hype for this beach. The aerial (processed?) photos which I am often seeing about this beach, does not seem to be the reality.

It is ok beach. We wisted on cloudy day so it's definitely different from pictures found online but still nice. We came there later afternoon so water at crossing was little dipper. Water is warm .
Ana Jovic — Google review
It is pretty fun to cross the sea to get there, otherwise the beach has pebbles, a coffee place on boat and goats visitors :) Worth a visit, but probably not for a whole day. Some walking is necessary, don’t forget your water shoes. In mid September wasn’t crowded at all.

Seriously, what is this place? This is Heaven !
A bit cold water but crystal clear .
Only (-) , Take your beverages with you.
Serta? Tokcan — Google review
An extraordinary beach that is definitely worth a visit.Water is cool enough and access is easy.
P.s.I cannot understand people rating this gem and other beaches by the criteria of how crowded it is.It is normal to expect many people on the beach during high season or if you get there late in the noon.
Vladimiros Theodoridis — Google review
Perfect spot to visit. For walking through the narrow strait to the other side: take the sea-shoes with you. The sharp rocks might be too much for your feet
Nef Fen — Google review
Not for everyone. First you go downhill then through the shallow sea. No sunbeds and umbrellas, but shade can be found. You can reach the other beach through the woods. There are some old umbrellas and broken sunbeds, but they serve the purpose. The sea is shallow and warm. The second beach is more peaceful. If you bring your meal and eat near the woods, you might get a company, like we had.
Dragomir Papuca — Google review
Very unique beach. The small island is connected to the small beach of Bella Vraka and you can literaly walk over the shallows to the other side. Clear waters but no sand. This is a stony beach with small and big stones and rocks on the sides. The beach is not organized. There are no umbrellas, no sun beds, no beach bars. There is a boat bar tha visits sometimes the beach and you can buy a drink or snack. Caution for children. Only few spots with shoal water and stones. And of course the mascot of the island couldn't be better than some original wild goats comming from the woods trying to steal your food. A must visit place for casual travelers and adventurers.
Kyriakos Pan — Google review
Amazing place, especially for kids and families. Considering beach itself is smaller and not organised, what I found impressive is that there's even a floating boat that sells coffee, water and cool drinks, as well as local lifeguard stand.
Ivan Veljkovic — Google review
Great views. Very crowded though and the water is always very cold as at all beaches at Ionion Sea
Loucas Ioannou — Google review
Βeautiful beach with calm water without waves, especially for families with small children, you need to walk about 200 meters, it is worth visiting!
Aurel Merco — Google review
I'm not going to lie, I was expecting something much more exotic from the pictures. But the water is quite mehhh compared to other nearby beaches. The place is full of families. Which brings to a lot of agitation and noise, so is not a suitable place for absolute relaxation.
Issos Beach is located on the western coast of Corfu, and it has a large stretch of golden sand. It's a great place to relax and enjoy the sun, with plenty of places to rent beach chairs and umbrellas. The beach also has strong winds that make kitesurfing or windsurfing a great adventure activity.
The area is classed as a protected area and getting to the beach is via a sandy, rocky roadway.
There is quite a lot of parking here.
There is a vast amount of sand dunes which run from the beach to Lake Korrisson.
The beach itself is long and wide and plenty of room to spread out. In the evening it’s a good place to see the sunset
Neil Darler — Google review
Great beach with sand dunes.
You can easily drop a car - there is 50m for parking, but if you come after 12 it might be difficult because the beach is popular.
5€ per sunbed, also there is a bar with drinks and snacks.
Vallery M — Google review
Huge sandy beach. No cafes/bars, can't buy drinks or food (early June 2023). Bring your beverage/food and sunshade if you need it. Access is easy, there is huge free parking. There is a hotel on one end of the beach with sunbeds etc but it's far away from the middle part and the other end of the beach. It's huge - 2400m
Milo? Bulaji? — Google review
The beach is a little remote, the sandy beach is beautiful with shallow water along a sand bar. You will need to bring your own food and drink/ shade.
Anna Bradshaw — Google review
A very long and beautiful sandy beach. There are a few cafes where you can buy foof and drinks. The umbrella and tow chairs are between 6 and 10 euro. There is a wide free zone= The water is shallow and clear, great for swimming. The people are less when you go further away from Agios Georgios. The dunes are beautiful and offer great views. When you climb them you can see the lake in the distance.
?????? ???????? — Google review
Nice sandy beach, clean water, smooth entrance. As the beach is wild in the far side, there are no paid sun beds and umbrellas, without them you can easily burn out. There is no shade after 10, you can find a bush somewhere and that's all. Where are the sun beds from hotels there are a lot of people, it is better to go to swim further
Alina Rusetskaya — Google review
Wonderful beach, very long, with facilities. The dunes next to it give you the impression of Maspalomas. Very clear water, fine sand, recommended to walk along its entire length, really worth it 💯
Daniel Gaftoi — Google review
It is a sandy beach but it has a lot of humidity and therefore clouds/fog since it is in the south of the island. It has dunes and a “trail” to walk around. There’s sun-beds and beach bar at the beginning where you can park. Be aware there’s a part of the beach that is disgustingly full of plastic and trash.
salma saab — Google review
An amazing landscape. The beach is endless and the surrounding cedar forest is like it popped from your imagination. It's worth exploring on a cloudy day to avoid the burning sand. Behind the beach and the beautiful sand dunes/cedar forest, you will find a beautiful lake. Highly recommended!!!!

Where is two bars at the beach.

Beautiful. Soft sand and greenery up in the dunes. Great for a decent stroll.
A small bar offering refreshments near the entrance to the beach from the carpark.
Plenty of free parking but it does get busy. Loads of space on the beach.

This beach in southern Corfu is absolutely gorgeous and was definitely one of the highlights of the trip.
The beach was clean and clearly well maintained by the locals and the hotels nearby. There were a few activities to do here like quad biking and jet skiing.
The beach wasn't ever too crowded and the seating provided by Labranda was sufficient for everyone.

Butrint National Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Albania, is a remarkable olive-shaded site that houses Greek, Roman, and medieval remnants. The park's archaeological significance dates back to the Iron Age and offers an authentic experience with unrestricted access to the ruins. It features diverse points of interest from various historical periods including Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Venetian eras.
Interesting place to visit, and access to the site is pretty unrestricted allowing you to explore as much as you want. Even if you aren’t interested in archaeology the views are worth the entrance fee (1000 lek)
You can get a bus here from Ksamil (100 lek) or Sarande (150 lek). This runs hourly, leaving at xx:30 from both Sarande and Butrint.

Awesome place!
We went at about 10am to avoid the heat and also meant we were there without the crowds that appeared as we were leaving at about 12:30. Took us about an hour and a half to walk through the whole place, useful paper guide in English as well. Highly recommend making the journey out!

Very beautiful place to visit, the viator tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and shows you around, there are toilets at the start and top part of the trail. There are many ruins and beautiful scenery. There is a fair sized car park at the start of the trail which is opposite a lovely restaurant which provided lunch for our tour. The trails are not suitable for wheelchair users or those with impaired abilities.

Easily done in a couple of hours, map easy to follow. Lots of buzzing around which are the insects as it is quite swampy so ideally cover arms and legs!
Visited in April, very quiet but I can imagine peak times it is busy!
Little wooden ferry next door to the ruins of the castle, 75 lek one way worth a ride

This place is full of history. Strategic location made this area important throughout the years, dating back to neolithic age. You will find some good spots to take some nice photographs and learn about the history of this site. You can cross to the other side with a small nostalgic ferry.

Great place to visit and learn about history and coexistence. Well preserved!
Restrooms were well kept and clean. The only two things, in my opinion, that need to improve are the upgarde all signs to include more information and langauges. Also, the self-service for the prices that are charging needs to maintain the cleanliness of the place well. For the amount of what they they charge, this should be the minimal improvement.

This place is well worth a visit if you have any interest in history, archeology and/or culture. It's excavation has revealed an incredible progression through ancient Greek, Roman, Norman, Byzantine, Venetian and more civilisations in time. The additional construts are explained clearly in the different areas, and the learning and explanations of this has evolved and is also explained. The €10 in my perspective is well worth it, especially if you have traveled some distance to come to Albania.

Excellent well-preserved historical site, where you can touch the walls and as a matter of speaking hug the statues. The area is very quiet, with lots of trees and beautiful views of the surroundings. Spent 2hours discovering this area. Entrance= 1000lek

Even after visiting many ancient sites in Turkey, Greece, Italy, and many other countries, this one is unique in its own way. It's beautiful hiking back through the forest, and it's small enough to be able to visit but large enough to not get bored.

it offers a nice stroll through the history of this place. We arrived shortly after 9 (opening time), was not too busy, even parked in the shade (free parking).

The best site to visit in Albania. It combines nature, hiking, picnic and historical interest. The museum is excellent as it presents information well. Toilets at cafe near the museum.
Docking one point as the famous mosaic floor was totally covered and the cafe could have more items. The restaurant just outside the site, near the bus stop is very good though.

The visit to Butrint National Archaeological Park truly stands out as a remarkable experience. Exploring this historical site offers a captivating journey back in time, allowing you to witness an array of ancient buildings and constructions that date back thousands of years. While the remains may not always be fully intact, they provide a fascinating glimpse into the lives of those who inhabited this area in ancient times. To truly appreciate Butrint, one must be prepared to engage their imagination and piece together the rich history from the fragments that remain.
What makes Butrint even more compelling is the tapestry of civilizations that have called this place home over the centuries. From the Romans and Byzantines to the Ottomans, the layers of history are palpable as you wander through this archaeological wonderland. It's a testament to the enduring significance of this site throughout the ages.
In terms of admission, the prices are reasonable, with a standard fee of 1,000 Lek (equivalent to 10 euros) per person. If you're traveling with a group of 12 or more people, you can enjoy a discounted rate of 800 Lek per person.
One of the park's standout features is its natural surroundings. The abundance of trees provides ample shade, making it a comfortable destination even on sunny days. This harmonious blend of history and nature creates a truly unique and awe-inspiring atmosphere that sets Butrint apart.
In conclusion, a visit to Butrint National Archaeological Park is a must for history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. It offers a window into the past, allowing you to traverse the footsteps of ancient civilizations amidst the tranquility of nature. While you may need to engage your imagination to fill in the historical gaps, the experience is undeniably amazing and well worth the visit.

Stunning archaeological site with various different points of interest from various different points of history. Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Venetian. This is a must when in Albania.
The down point is it isn't very well signposted, so I would recommend trying to book a guided tour.
The real star of this place is the location. It's a lagoon meeting the sea through a narrow channel at the site, with the various colours of the water in different points backed by the mountains in the background.
5 stars alone for the site. But the natural beauty is phenomenal.
Simply wow.

A chance to wander ancient ruins, almost by ourselves.
We visited on October 1st from 5-630pm. Outside of peak tourist season and during golden hour, this spot was perfect though we forgot to bring bug spray and the mosquitoes had their way with us.
It’s a beautiful and historic place that you can explore at your own pace. Fun to imagine the large city that existed for hundreds of years here.
The Achilleion is a 19th-century neoclassical palace built as the summer residence of Empress Elizabeth of Austria, located on a steep hilltop 12km south of Corfu Town. The mansion features Achilles-themed interiors and sweeping garden terraces with stunning sea views. Its central staircase boasts intricate decoration rising in geometrical flights. Unfortunately, the second floor was closed for renovations during our visit, but the gardens were still worth exploring.
August 2021: Absolutely stunning! This palace is beautifully preserved and the gardens are spectacular! Very worthy of a visit and very cheap too!

Beautiful summer palace built for Empress Elisabeth of Austria in honor and admiration to Achilles. Entrance for the garden is 5€/person. At the moment the museum is closed, so you can only enjoy the garden, which is stunning 🤩.

Interesting and historic place. But it’s actually more a ruin than a palace. ☹️ In November it will re-opened to public it was promised. A beautiful view and a lovely little garden.

The pictures in the guidebook look great.....but it is in a terrible state. The building is undergoing restoration, but no workmen to be seen. You can not enter the building, and the gardens were in a sorry state. To charge 5 euros was a complete rip-off. 10 minutes walking round the shabby gardens and the deserted building site was enough. The only positive point I can make was the view over Corfu old town was good!

The statue and gardens are quite well maintained and the interiors are under renovation. 5€ per person isn't a lot but there wasn't much to see because of this. Plenty of steps to get to the garden. There are 2 beautiful statues of Achilles and one of them overlooks the panoramic view or Corfu.
If arriving by public transport the bus stop is right opposite the souvenir shop + cafe.

An important historical landmark. The former palace of the Austrian Empress Sisi. The palace itself is a very beautiful building, of classical architecture. It has a large collection of very valuable exhibits. The garden of the palace is beautiful and there are many statues, among which the statue of Achilles stands out. The place is busy and can be reached by bus number 10 from Corfu Town.

Unfortunately we didn't get to see much!Of course the garden is very beautiful not well maintained though! The view is mesmerising! And pretty much that's it!Let's be honest, it's not worth the entrance fee. They should have a free entrance, for everyone, to the garden until the palace is fully restored! Unfortunately they were restoring everything inside and partly outside. So we only could visit the garden 🥲🥲 That's a pity, because we were excited to view the rooms of the palace. The garden is beautiful and the statue is huge. At the balcony at the end of the garden you can enjoy the beautiful view of the landscape.

The palace is really rundown and needs a lot of repairs before it could open to the public. The garden within is pretty nice. It is one of the major tourist spot but there are no working washroom anywhere on the premises.
Humphrey Mak — Google review
We were there at the beginning of September and most of the monument is under construction (especially the inside of the building), there's really not much to see outside and even that is quite poorly preserved. The entrance fee for what you see is absolutely too high (5,5€). It's a shame to see such a work of art in such a state, I hope they are working on restoring the exterior as well. But the view from the garden is beautiful :)
The Palaio Frourio is an ancient fort located on a rocky headland in Corfu Town. Constructed by the Venetians in the 14th century, this site was previously home to the entire Byzantine city and features massive stone walls and a seawater moat crossed by a bridge. Visitors can explore parts of this vast complex, which also houses structures from the British era.
Lovely view of Corfu, a bit of walking going up but shade from trees from time to time available.
The stairs at the end are in stone and very slippery, be careful and use the handrail as well.
Get a bottle of water before going up.
6€ per person the entry, latest entry to go up at 19:30.
After 19:30 you can enter to visit the lower part only, with the church and enjoy the
nice sunset colors.

Fortress is really impressive talking about size, but the way it’s built as well regarding the one and only bridge through which you can get inside it and the canal which is separating the fortress from the mainland. Nicely organized, everything is marked. View from the top of the fortress is magnificent and it’s really worth it going all the way up, just be careful to organize your return from the top areas of the fortress before 8PM when they close the gates which leads to the top. There is also St. George church which is beautiful talking about exterior appearance of the building. All in all, fortress is really a must see.

It looks impressive, the views were very nice. They even had a small exhibition commemorating 100 years since Italian occupation. As well as some Byzantine historical pieces. Didn't manage to explore much, as was travelling with a suitcase in tow and it was hot and I had to carry said suitcase.
Zane S — Google review
Definitely worth visiting just for the view from the top of the fortress (even more so if you're an EU citizen under the age of 25 (so you have a free entrance)). I recommend visiting in the morning or in early evening, you will not enjoy the heat from the summer sun. The sites were quite poorly labeled and a lot of places were closed due to poor maintenance.

Great view of the town and sea. Cool history. For tourists from USA, we paid 3€ each for entry. Lots of stairs to climb so be prepared.
Isabelle Papenfuss — Google review
The fortress you need up to 2 hours to have a good look around. Once you get there you go through a tunnel that leads to an open area with cannons. There are 3 levels to go exploring in. The climb is fairly easy as it is is sloping steps and normal steps. The views are excellent and worth the trip, there are areas that look good but unfortunately are closed.
Neil Darler — Google review
It is a good place for a panoramic view, probably the best "belvedere" place from Corfu, but you need some climbing on stairs and in +35°C could be a bit difficult if you are out of shape.
Except for the view, there's not so much to see, but for 6EUR, if you are not tired and if it's not that hot outside it is worth it.
I've attached the best views and places from the fortress.
Entrance: 6€
Time: 1.5 - 2h
Recommendation:
1. Visit in the early morning or after 17, as it will be extremely hot
2. Wear comfortable clothes, use sunscreen, and bring some cold liquids to drink
3. Enjoy!

Absolutely stunning 🤩
It’s quite a climb and extra slippery because the floor has stone & marble if I’m not mistaken. There is handles to hold on to do nothing to worry about just take your time and don’t rush yourself. Your patience is going to be rewarded! Take enough water for both ways! There is not much shades up there but enough for 5-10 people max.
The view is simply stunning, don’t miss out on it I can definitely recommend, it was 6€ p.P. which seemed very fair!

The Old Fortress of Corfu (Greek: Παλαιό Φρούριο, Venetian: Fortezza Vecchia) stands as a remarkable testament to ancient Venetian architecture and strategic planning. Let’s explore this historic stronghold:
Origins and Location:
The Old Fortress is perched on a promontory that once housed the ancient town of Corfu during Byzantine times.
Before the Venetian era, Byzantine fortifications defended this site, which lies between the Gulf of Kerkyra to the north and Garitsa Bay to the south.
The Venetians ingeniously separated the promontory from the rest of Corfu by creating the Contrafossa, a moat that transformed the citadel into an artificial island.
Defensive Triumphs:
The fortress successfully repelled all three major Ottoman sieges:
The great siege of 1537
The siege of 1571
The second great siege of Corfu in 1716
The town of Corfu owes its Western name to the twin peaks of this fortress, known as “Coryphe” in Greek.
Architectural Features:
The Old Fortress features two peaks:
The western peak (Castel a Terra or “Castle near the Land”) was fortified by the Byzantines around the 12th century AD.
The eastern peak (Castel a Mare or Castel Vecchio) served as a powder magazine.
The Venetians further enhanced the fortifications, creating a formidable stronghold.
Legacy and Beauty:
The church of St. George within the fortress adds to its historical significance.
The Old Fortress remains a beacon of Corfu’s rich past, where layers of Byzantine, Venetian, and Ottoman history converge.
For those who visit, the Old Fortress whispers tales of battles, resilience, and the enduring spirit of this enchanting island. 🏰🌴

Pop in at 8am and head for the top, the heat will be very intense if you come later.
Keep in mind the top portion of the fort (with the good views) closes at 730, even though the fort closes at 8pm, so you will likely not be able to get an elevated view of the sunset.
I recommend going in the morning and getting it all done in 45 minutes.
English signage is not everywhere, it's sufficient, but not everything is translated.
Church of st george which is on the grounds is impressive, huge columns and overall this is worth the 6 euro price of admission.

Great place to explore, with amazing sea view. The entry cost is £6 euro, but it's free for disabled. There's a cafe on site, which is handy on a hot day wandering around exploring the fort.

Very interesting to explore and wander around. We climbed up to the lighthouse. Watch those slippery steps! It is easy to imagine being here long ago. The little Cafe is awesome, too. Enjoy!

Great view on the city, 6 euros per person and kids under 18 are free. Dated back 2000 years ago initially but the main constructions are 6-700 years old.
Tracks are uneven and gets quite steep towards the top, there's a handrail but if you're unsteady on your feet you may need to give the last section a miss. There's a decent cafe also which is great to sit and take in the scenery.

Great place to visit, make sure to ho all the way up to enjoy the view. Tickets we bought them at the door for 6 EUR. Tip: bring a bottle of water with you.

Quite a lovely place to spend a quite afternoon. The ticketing staff at the entrance was rude but I appreciated the service of the others. It’s lovely during the sunset where one can see the colours of the sky from this high point. The entrance is free before the official operating hours - 8am and post 8pm or depending on the seasons without the entrance to the tower and the church.

Only a short stroll from where our bus dropped us. Cost only a few euros each to go in. Interesting multi cultural history to the fortress with stunning views. Especially if u can make it to the top. Cafe & toilets inside

3. Enjoy!

The Lëkursi Castle and Restaurant is a historic site that boasts impressive circular towers, breathtaking panoramic vistas, and an expansive dining area. Visitors can enjoy the stunning decor and magnificent views while savoring delicious dishes from the restaurant's menu. While touring the castle, guests can also stop by the open eatery to grab some iced coffee for around 200 lek. It's a picturesque destination that offers both cultural intrigue and culinary delights.
We walked up from Sarande and we’re very glad that we did (although a bit of a hike, so may recommend driving if with small children etc.) The views are definitely worth it and although we didn’t stop for food/drink, the restaurant also looked lovely. You can get a 360 view of Corfu/Sarande and the valleys/coast - great for photos.

This place was amazing to visit. My partner and I got a taxi from town and the driver waited for us for 40 minutes and then drove us back into town. This cost us 20€ which was a great price to us.
The view is like nothing else. It's free to enter and look around, and there's a bar inside. They did food, but we only got coffees -- I had an iced latte while my partner had an iced cappucino. Had to wait a while because the machine had only just been turned on, but wasn't a problem as we just sat in the sun admiring the view. The only downside was that they only took cash and no card, and since we were visiting while on holiday in Corfu, we only had euros with us. This would have been more problematic had we bought a full meal, but luckily we only needed a small amount of cash for the coffees and they accepted euros. Deducting one star due to this as it was inconvenient. There's plenty of seating and the place was deserted except us and a couple doing a wedding photoshoot.
Would strongly recommend.

It was supposed to be a historical place, but it is modified completely in a restaurant. However, I went there in closing time so I cannot rate the dishes and services. Anyway, my 1 star is due to the monkey left alone in a cage. In Albania, I do not know if keeping wild tropical animal is allowed
alessia mongelli — Google review
Spectacular place at all times of day but best at sunsets. The 360 is just breathtaking from the mountain range north to the valley in the east the lagoon to the south and the sea and Corfu to the west. Its a small castle that has pretty much been turned into a restraunt. But you can also just get a drink and just enjoy the view.
The main way up via road is tarmacadam most of the way, but pity there is no obvious footpath up the western side.
Free entry too

We went at the start of May before the season started which luckily meant that the place when we visited was quiet. The castle offers an absolutely amazing view of Saranda. Highly recommended. I would have loved to have come at sunset. The entry is free. The road up there is steep and windy so I would recommend a car.

Quiet in the winter months but it's free which is a pleasant bonus. It's a nice walk up a narrow road off the main road. Plenty of parking places if you go by car. Some lovely views from the castle and there's a lighthouse on the way up and some old bunkers.

But please arrange proper cage for the monkey. It's heart breaking to see how does he/she live right now.

Beautiful sunset. We came off peak, so the quiet peaceful feeling is heavenly. Cool breezes yet it warms our hearts inside. Unforgettable.
Caspere — Google review
Great place to visit and have Saranda in the background with a glass of wine. Was nice to see traditional dancers and live music.
Unfortunately, the prices that they charge for the food quality need to improve. Most of our pasta and risoto dishes were overcooked. The raw seafood is not that fresh. At night, the high volume of the music doesn't let you enjoy the view or have a normal conversation with your companions.
The place also doesn't accept credit cards, only cash!
Gjergj Tr — Google review
A beautiful view of the city and the sunset is the perfect moment to visit it.
If you would also do something special you can stay at the restaurant, but I personally wouldn't because of the high prices, down there like 2 minutes there is a restaurant much more convenient with good food.
Federico — Google review
The two stars is completely for the beauty of the place. However, the restaurant wasn’t operating even though it was during the working hours posted online. Service was nonexistent, actually one customer thought I was an employee because there literally wasn’t any one else in there but me… I would have loved to actually try the food. Unfortunately, they didn’t even have the chef in the restaurant.
Anyhow, the restaurant itself is beautiful and the views are amazing.

The restaurant wasn’t open when we came, but the view was amazing! Also lots of these small bunkers around, so pretty interning to see and also very good as a photo spot
Florian Fußberger — Google review
A narrow but asphalt road leads to the top, there are several large parking lots along the way. You can easily cross it on foot. There is a beautiful castle at the top with an even more beautiful view. I recommend every vacationer visiting Sarande to pass this facility.
Paweł — Google review
Amazing spot for sunset views and a nice dinner. We were surprised with how many tables there were, it’s a big terrace! We had the Lekuresit pasta and a sea fish dish. The prices are on the higher end compared to other Albanian restaurants. The only downside is that many people stay around the castle for pictures instead of eating, but the terrain is big enough with many different beautiful spots!

Absolutely the best place to visit in Sarandë and it's free! The castle itself is beautiful and romantic with absolutely stunning panoramic views. It would be nice to have a little information about the castle available.

A stunning location to eat and watch the sunset over the city. When I visited it was still spring, so no one was dining outside as it was chilly. I imagine this place is bustling over the summer months! We got some tea to take out of the restaurant, the guy working was v helpful. Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat.

Aqualand is a sprawling water park nestled in 75,000 square meters of woodlands, offering an array of activities and amenities for a memorable family day out. The park features separate areas catering to different age groups, including children aged 4-8, families with kids aged 8 and above, and extreme slides for visitors aged 12 and older.
We went mid September and it was pretty much empty!
No queuing for rides, no wait for food, Aqualand was clean and well staffed.
The entrance fee was well worth it. When you get the chance to just get off one slide and run up the next set of stairs it'd be well worth it!
Mark Coningsby — Google review
Good Aquapark with lots of slides. Unfortunately some of them are a bit old and not quite as smooth anymore. The new slides like Tornado and Catapult are great, but here the queues are also the longest. As a hotel visitor you get a 10% discount on food and drinks. Since the park has recently reopened, there was not enough staff on site. One person per slide tower to monitor everything, so the waiting time was unnecessarily long...

Amazing place very clean. The staff are amazing and watch everybody.
The little kids part is excellent too my lot loved it. There's loads to do for everyone ,you won't be disappointed. Theres food available also it's really nice and not over priced either like most places like this . In all it's a great day out loads of fun it's not to be missed if you're there 😊.
We stayed in the aqualand hotel beside it highly recommended and you can use the water park all day long in n out as much as u like .

Really enjoyed our time here, there are so many slides and pools to choose from including a wave pool 🌊. The staff are friendly and lifeguards are very alert. Great places for a thrill or a relax.
Rebecca Ungi — Google review
Big waiting lines everywhere, including the restaurants and food ares.
The slides are nice but the whole place is poorly managed. You can't bring food from outside and you have to wait 30 minutes in line to get a pork wrap (they ran out of chicken at noon). The foods selection is very poor, wraps and fries.
The kids pool has cold water. 24 degrees for a infant pool in the middle of the summer is too cold for a 3 years old.
The waiting time for the slides varies between 5 minutes and 25 minutes for the busiest ones.
The staff blocks the entrance with a rope (haven't seen this one before in a aquapark) and sometimes there's only one person going down even though there are 4 slides that run parallel.
Most water parks nowadays use sensors and red/green signals at the top, rather than ropes and whistle blowers.
We traveled 3 hours from Greece mainland with the car and ferry for this water park and it was a disappointment.
I do not recommend it.
Radu Drasovean — Google review
A very good place for children of all ages, a little more crowded in the first part of the day at the slides, there are areas with shade, clean toilets. I found the pita gyros for 4.20 euros very good. It's a good place for adults too, there is an area where you can pick up the pictures taken at the slides by the employees, they can print them or send them by email. The lady from whom I received the pictures was very kind!
Tatiana Ion — Google review
Nice waterpark with lots of various areas. There are plenty of slides to keep everyone entertained. Food is reasonably priced, lockers available. The wave pool is great and they have the waves on every 10 minutes. Clean, and well kept. A must do with kids
Marriam Kashmiri — Google review
Enjoyed the park, lots there.
They don't let you bring your own food or drink in which is a bit mean. I was holding a small bottle of water which they made me drink or throw away before entry. To be fair the food and drink inside is reasonably priced but if you have someone with allergies not being able to bring your own food in could be a pain.
The other niggle was some of the larger rides had huge queues with only one member of staff supervising 4/5 slides. More staff would have helped reduce the queue but also it would help to separate the queue for different rides. Many we're queing for one ride in particular which meant to get into one of the quieter rides you had to queue with everyone else.
Lockers we're €5 but it felt safe to leave stuff around the many sunbeds.
Don't take any of this to distract from what is a fun place to go, it is well maintained, some great rides and reasonable value for a fun day out.

This was a great day out, there were plenty of tubes to go around, so much to do we were on our feet all day. The lazy river was great for a 10 minute relax before back on the slides. Food was no too over priced, limited menu. Staff are very safety aware. Fun for all ages. Just a tip... make sure you follow the instructions and cross your legs on the slides it can be painful on the drop otherwise!!!@

Absolutely fantastic place. Really clean, plenty of slide rings to go round, beautifully landscaped and plenty of sunbeds in the shade. Bring swim shoes as the stones get hot during the day. Staff are all great. Well worth the visit.

Brilliant day out here, easy entry, nice lockers enough to fit your backpack, shoes and accessories in and bigger family ones are available. Whole park is great to be in and all the slides are super fun.
Some slides are more intense than others, some are more underwhelming than you'd expect (black hole is very tame) but the majority of the slides are brilliant and the wait times are pretty short if not non existent with most rides. The wave pool is also great fun to be in or chill by the side of.
The food is brilliant and good prices also which I was surprised about the most. Good portion of souvlaki for only €8, matching most restaurants on the island which is nice.
Would 100% go here again, maybe on a less hot day though!

What a beautiful, fun, clean place! We had an amazing day with the family. And there is stuff to do for all ages, from baby fun to extreme slides and all in between. No long lines (max. 10min), good food, clean toilets, it was all 100%!! Highly recommended for a fun day out!

Great waterpark, got plenty to do, fair prices, got food, lockers, lot's of shade and place to sit, the store had waterproof / splashproof phone case which is amazing experience booster, great place for kids in different ages and adults.
We discovered that if you book online it's cheaper, but you can only do it at least one day before, so keep thay in mind when planning, also after 14:00 there is major price discount.
The park is opened till 18:00, but keep in mind the slides closes around 17:00 and around 17:30 people are already starting to exit, so if you wand more than 3.5 hours come in the morning

Amazing slides, lazy river and wave pool. We tried most of the slides, were too afraid to go down on the crazier kamikaze ones. Being a Monday there weren’t big wait times, the most we waited was around 5-10 minutes for the crazy river slide. The people working there were very friendly, the food and drinks reasonably priced.
Klaudia Dukai — Google review
All very well organised. I didn't go on slides, nor did my husband, but my daughter and her partner did.
Plenty of beds, inflatables found in other areas if you look. Food fairly average, all frites stalls were closed, only 2 food stands open.
Tried the wave pool and it nearly killed me, definitely one to have your inflatable on! 😬 No sunbeds to be found here but it is right next to hotel rooms, we found ones in the grounds.
The lazy river was very tame and quite predictable, as in it hardly pushes you anywhere and it was very basic, unlike the one in Siam Park Tenerife.
No beaches just grass and grounds, but kept very clean and service with a smile everywhere.

A fabulous day out. Clean, tidy, and well staffed.
We went on a Saturday afternoon as we were advised that is change-over day for the Tui Hotel on site, so its usually quieter, and it certainly was. There are no significant queues beyond a few minutes.
We didn't eat on site, but there were outlets that sell snacks and drinks, which were reasonably priced.
Upon entry, you can hire a locker, a few price options, but a family one for a few € was just fine for four of us. Changing was OK on entry but a but manic if youbstay until closure time.
The slides were fantastic, lots of types to suit all ages, and every splashdown area was monitored by a lifeguard, as was the top of slides.
Some need inflatables to ride, but no explanation is given at the bottom of the long stairs. You just have to follow everyone else the first few rides to work it out. The ones over by the wave machine are the fastest but I'd suggest taking a ride on the lazy river to the top of the park (South) and then work your way around.the wave machine is a bit unhinged! The closer you get to the back the more intense the waves. At their worst they went from 4 or 5 feet deep to over 15 feet, quite scary if your not a good swimmer, but, if you stay behind the line and the beach it varies from gentle lapping to usual English beach waves of a few feet.
As I said we went for an afternoon, and that was just enough time, but spending a whole day would become too repetitive.... Maybe not for the kids though.
4 as there's not enough shade and no explanation about the inflatables.
Price was reasonable, just don't jump on the website at the airport like the myriad of posters there demand, if your a package holidaymaker ask your repnfor a deal, or if like us you had a private villa we simply turned up and saw no difference in pricing.
All in all a fab day out that's easy to find, park and well priced.

Gjipe Beach is a secluded and picturesque white sand beach located between Dhermi and Vuno. The beach is surrounded by large cliffs, and there are caves that can be explored in the area. This hidden gem is mostly undeveloped, making it an ideal destination for those seeking peace and solitude.
This was without any doubt, my favorite visited beach in Albania.
To get there, you have to drive until’ you reach the parking lot of the beach, the lady that works there is very helpful, you have to pay 300 LEK for the parking place. To reach the beach you have to walk 20 min, it’s a pretty difficult road, but it was all worth it.

It's a cool hideout specially in summer times I belive. I love the place, but the road or the hike to it is all messy and cracky. It's only a 3 KM round trip hike. Takes a 20 min down and 25 min up.
The trail full of Bunkers 😄, people were crazy building those bunkers, found 7 of them, how much did you found?

Beautiful beach between cliffs! You have to walk 20 minutes aprox to get to the beach from the parking.
I read in many reviews the road was difficult, but I didn’t felt that way, it’s just full of stones. I made a picture of it for you to see.
Landscape was worthy!
I recommend!

Beautiful beach with a great natural surroundings but ruined by the people running the restaurants and bars (very rude and unfriendly), by the wild camping, by having the whole beach covered in sunbeds and umbrellas and litter and rubbish all over. I don't regret visiting it but I don't recomend it at all !
Jo?o Fernandes — Google review
I have to admit I had way more expectations given the reviews.
At the end, it is just another beach with pebbles.
You need to park and pay 300 lekes, 3 euros. Then walk 20 minutes.
There are 3 restaurants. We had lunch at the first one and we had to wait literally 1 hour for a salad, a fish and the worst chicken ever, completely dry.

Beautiful secluded beach. Giving 4 stars because of the hike to get down there (which is why it's so secluded). Wear good shoes if you decide to make the trip. Also must pay to park as well. besides that, the water was crystal clear. There were food stands available if needed. Dogs roaming the beach to play with. Beach was a bit Shelly, so I'd recommend one you get there. Gorgeous views from the walk too.

In August 2021 I had a vacation in Albania. And we visited this beach. It is very beautiful place but the road is very difficult. ( Like all roads in Albania, in fact).
We rented a car and went from Vlora. Firs we overcame the mountain serpentine (about 2 hours), then we turned on a one-way trail and drived about 50 minutes to the parking. By the way, parking was paid. Then, we walked to the beach under hot sun about 40 minutes. And finally we were there. But there were a lot of people and all the umbrellas were occupied.
I think, better to go to the Gjipe beach in low season. Because in August there are traffic jam, very hot weather and a lot of tourists.

Very quiet on the month of early March! It's really cold and we couldn't go into the sea, however comfortable to chill with carpet at the place and enjoy the colors of nature. The hike is long and rocky, quite challenging to walk non-stop as it's one direction up/down hike. Water are very clear and it is as beautiful as you can see in the pictures.

It takes about 15-20 minutes walking to get to the beach but it is definitely worth the effort despite the scorching heat and sweat. On the way back, up the hill it is even more challenging but you won’t regret it as the beach is gorgeous. You can leave your car at the parking place which is chargeable 300 Lek. On the beach there are sun beds for rental and plenty of space to sit on your own blanket or a towel but make sure you have your own umbrella or tent to hide as there isn’t much shade nearby. A few beach bars to get refreshing drinks and crystal-clear water to cool down and have a swim. You may also take up the hiking trail into the canyon and explore the sight if you feel like. Gjipe Beach is one of the most incredible places in the coast of Albania and if you happen to drive by, make a stop and have a look around.

Best beach of all albania.
To reach it you have to walk for 30 minutes on a dirt street. Shoes are suggested.
You can observe the gjipe canion and at the same time gjipe beach. Just amasing.

The most beautiful beach we went to in Albania. You have plenty of parking but it costs 300LEK for the day. The road to the beach is like a 25m trek. Not that hard but just keep that in mind. The road to the parking is really badly designed one way road with a few side parking spots whenever a car comes for the opposite but curbs are really high so you cant just pull to the side with a normal car.

One of the most beautiful beaches near Himare. From the parking lot you have to walk 15 minutes! Wear good shoes. 1500 leek for umbrella and 2 cheapies which is fair price for a small hidden beach.
Tip: when arrive, go to the left side near the rocks, there are some hidden cave and spots with shadow (If you don’t want to pay for umbrella)
The place is also a camping spot, so very cosy vibes
Cecilie Nguyen — Google review
Because the road is rocky, wear walking shoes instead of sliders. The parking fee was 200 lek for the entire day, which is about 1.60 euro. The beach and sand are both fantastic, so it is well worth a visit. On the beach, there are four bars. It takes about 20 minutes to walk there.

Super nice beach, but it is quite a hustle to get there. I would recommend going early morning, so you can secure a spot at the parking space. Also, when you drive from the main road to the parking place, there is just one lane, while it is two way traffic. We heard that the guys working at the parking place can be quite direct (or even aggressive), but after we paid for the parking place, they were quite friendly. From the parking place, it is a 30 minute walk to the beach itself. It is recommended to wear (decent) shoes and no flip flops.

Anazing beach!! One of my favourotes in Albania! We even went back for a second time at the end of our vacation.
Not a lot of people, great water and you can rent SUPs and Kayak for a fair price! The canyons in the background and the whole nature around is just wonderful.
The walk there from the parking spot (300Lek) is about 25 min and its a little rocky but managable!
Note: the second time we went there, there were more people because the main season for the camping started and they put a lot more umbrellas and chairs on the beach (which are quite expensive). And with more people there was also more trash.

30 minutes walk to the beach is really worth it 🥹😍. Low season, few people, great waves and super water temperature 🩵🫶🏻

Water crystal clear, quite some restaurants around. There is a nice promenade and nice to walk there in the evening. The price for 2 sunbeds and a parasol is between 1000-1500 LEK. Parking can be a problem and the smell of the trash is really bad and strong. I hope they would clean daily and don't let the trash smell very bad.

Beautiful beach with white smooth pebbles, the water is clear. The sea here is very deep and the waves were high and strong. We didn’t need any special shoes to enter the sea.
Umbrella + 2 sofas cost 1000 lek/d.
Unfortunately still a lot of trash everywhere, even though the situation is better than in other cities.
There are a lot of restaurants and hotels along the shore. Only at Luciano it was possible to pay contactless.
If you have a car, you can stay in the city (cheaper), otherwise you’ll need 1-2 hours to get from the city to the beach.

Beautiful landscape, but for beaching is wrong choice. Not good for families. Cool and expensive. Boastful guys working in bars... People who work in catering much more modest and friendly in Vlora and Durres. On the beach is not sand, there are only stones, you can't walk on them, you can't go into the water without shoes. Water is very cold in end of June, about 18-20 Celsius. In Vlora a sunbed for a day is 300 lek, here 700-1000 lek. (There I got bill, here not, I felt it's scam because I speak other language. Take care when pay here, ask bill.)
I have been many place of the world, it's a strongly overrated place. :)
Very good beach for young people, there is parking right to the beach but u can park on the road also,2beds with umbrella 500lek.
Good service, people that work here are nice
There is music that its loud, its okay for young people but i dont like that its albanian only

Very nice little beach. With cool music playing & a good snack bar. « Only » 4 stars because it’s a pebble beach. So if you don’t mind, go for it 👍

Unfortunately I have to give 2 stars, the sea is very good, the vibe is nice and the umbrella is in line with the other places. Nevertheless, as many other beaches, the whole place is missing the basics. When trying to order a beer they only have german ones, I am in Albania and I want to experience the local taste. I had to go to the place next to it. We tried to get some food, and they did not have any pasta or pizza, they literally told us to leave. I can’t even comment the toilet situation which is unspeakable.
The service is ok, the guys are trying the best and are as helpful as they can be. During peak hours you can def see the stress from them and they scream at each other, this can scare away clients and they are totally chaotic.
On a note, I want to give a shout out to the guy with tattoos, I really enjoyed his approach and smile and calmness with clients, good job!

water wasn't as clean as pictures here, but nice shower they had and beds was 1500lek to rent

Nature fantastic. It's hard to find parking, seabeds very close to each other, not a safe place to go with family or couples.

Nice beach. There is a lot of staff, but they don’t serve you. We ordered salads and they hadn’t put half of the ingredients of the menu in them. Disappointing.

Terrible music, so loud and annoying.
When you come to vacation you want to listen to some relaxing music, reggae or summer jazz...

This place was recommended to us by our hotel. Overall It is quite average. They don’t accept credit card - don’t speak English. Service is not really friendly. Asked for a taxi on our way back - no response from staff. Menu is quite basic - pizzas were good size/average taste (450-800 lek).
Dirty toilets. No changing cabins. Overall cleanness of the facility is poor. Loud music throughout the day which doesn’t make sense because general customer base is families with kids. Sea was quite clean, not too deep but rocky. 1000 lek for 2 beds/umbrella (poor quality wooden sunbeds that you can’t position up more than 30 degrees)

Beautiful sea.
Service is low, music is too loud. Not really clean.
Price is 1000 LLEK for 1 umbrella and 2 sunbeds.

This beach is wonderful, but if you prefer less crowded spots like I do, it's best to visit on weekdays. The weekends see a surge in visitors, making parking quite a challenge. For a peaceful experience, opt for a weekday visit. Additionally, be prepared for some rather unfriendly interactions with the locals.

I was skeptical due the negative reviews but this beach is super cute and small. Perfect for either a family or group of friends. It is much better to go to this beach rather than all the way to Dhermi.
The beach bar is very nice, beautiful view of the sea, good service and the food is tasty for decent prices.
Umbrella is 1000leki which is a bit overpriced, the chairs were a bit old. Overall this is best beach I have visited in Vlorë region, very similar to Dhermi (I liked Bora Bora better tbh). The beach is with stones, and water is crystal clear. You also have spots where you can jump in the water.
Skip the negative reviews and go check it out. Totally worth it.

The Service is so slow.
The food it’s the worst.
15 min for a salad. 50 min for pasta and 65 for pizza. the prices are relatively high compared with other places and when it comes to an end you don’t get the service or the food.
a lot of staff, but all of them are restless and their behavior is not good.

1. The parking is a must here and you have to pay even if you re going in to their private park.
2. They're rude to you if they see that you have a freezer(refrigerator case)for some lotions and water and they will ask you to leave if you don't leave it in to the car.
3. You have to wait alot till someone is coming to pick up your order and at least 1 hour for some food(in total we waited for 2 hours).
4. The water have so many sharp stones and you'll cut your feet trying to get in for a swim.
5. The bathroom was disgusting and we even had a big inspect in to the cabin.
I don't recommend this beach at all.
Castillo Carlo V, situated in the Italian city of Lecce, is a massive 12th century castle which was extensively enlarged and strengthened by Charles V in 1539. Today, the castle features art exhibitions and cultural events as well as accommodation with free WiFi and air conditioning. The location of the castle - on a hill overlooking the city - is amazing and makes it an ideal place to stay if you're looking for luxury and privacy.
Just did the paid tour of Castello, amphitheatre & arena (with Roberta as our guide), we found her tour enjoyable and good value. Having the opportunity to enter areas that the public cannot and hearing from our knowledgeable guide extra stories and historical information was great.
Would recommend.

A major building in Lecce. It costs 8 eur per person. Inside was an art exhibition. The paper mache museum was closed but we were there when it was to be open. Overall, not a very good experience.
Dana Simmons — Google review
Very interesting site from what we could see of it, but the majority is off-limits unless you're participating in one of their tours, and the next English tour with availability was days away.
Worth a free walk-through of the open areas, but wish we'd seen more.

Very nice castle!
You can see the different populations that have passed in the city of Lecce, because there are the different simbols of each family engraved in many different places inside the castle!
Different, I know :)

It was pleasant enough to walk about and the guide offered up some interesting facts. Surprised the the views from the top of the walls were a little overlooked and you couldn't see the panarama you may be expecting. The dungeons were fascinating and so very well preserved. Personally I'm not hugely into old buildings or castles and I'd say it's worth a visit! Plus, they have a very beautiful cat in the grounds... reason enough to check it out!
Katrina Macneill — Google review
Totally overpriced. You pay 8 euros to see the first floor (a few nicely renovated, but rather empty rooms, and there was a photo exhibition). But apparently you have to buy an extra ticket to see the rest of the castle. Renovation works were still going on, so it all didn't look very appealing.
Skip it.

We did not go inside but from the outside, there was nothing that really interested us in wanting to go in. I hate to give a bad review but I think this place is just not as unique as others. However, the city of Lecce has so much history and so many beautiful architecture to view.
