Very nice place. We where almost alone and the children had great fun!
Robby Van Thuyne — Google review
A not-particularly-enjoyable dinosaur theme park. Any links with the genuine dinosaur footprints, which are five minute's drive away at the Icnitas De Enciso, are tenuous to say the least - the "museum" here is a real afterthought. If you want to actually find out about the dinosaur footprints, go to the Centro Paleontológico de Enciso in town instead. The food was mediocre at best - bagged salad with tasteless tomatoes in Spain should be a crime - and overpriced. We only came here to eat because the restaurant in the Posada Santa Rita in town was full, so unless you actively want to come here make sure you book at the posada before coming to Enciso. The staff looked like they'd rather be anywhere else. We did see kids enjoying themselves in the pools, but that was about it.

This place is simply amazing! It's an open air pool just nearby the river, free of charge. I had really great time there!

Great and unusual place. The free outdoor “termas”/baths are lovely and hot. Each of the three pools getting slightly cooler as the water progresses through them. There is also the river used as a plunge pool. Just visited. It was about 12C outside but lovely to sit in the pools. There is a car park and you can walk down to the pools wrapped in a towel/gown or get changed in the seating area by the pools. Well worth a visit.

The water temperature is amazing, I went there around 18:00 of a Monday and there were less than 10 people on the area.
You can bring your dog on the area as long as the dog behaves.
Parking is very cheap and close to the termas.

So far my favourite thermal bath! Crystal clear waters of 40 degrees and 3 pools to choose from. Additionally cold pool available in the river. During the morning time there wasn't many people.

Five stars to mother nature 0 stars to the Spanish people who treat this amazing place like their personal trash can. It's a real shame. There are no toilets so Saturday morning it stinks of urin around the baths. How can Italians respect their thermal baths but Spanish people can't?

Spectacular place to bathe in hot springs in the middle of nature. One of my favorite places in La Rioja. It is a pity that it has become so popular, years ago when they were less known they were idyllic. Still, even though it is quite crowded, it is a must visit place. Good place to spend a day with children. If your children like animals, they will have a wide variety of animals to see. The rides are fun, and here I mention the Bobsleigh, the tubing and the self drive boats. On the negative side, this Parc is huge and there are large distances to be covered. If you are with small children, they will get tired pretty fast. The day we went it was very crowded too, so there was a lot of queueing up to get to the rides, anywhere from 15 minutes to almost an hour for the bobsleigh. Parking is free but quite far away, if you want to park closer to the Parc, you pay 9 euros for a day in a parking place that is not only nearer to the entrance but your car is also protected from the sun.

Sendaviva is a great place to spend the day with your kids. It's very family friendly and perfect for younger children. Kids over 10 would probably get bored pretty quickly. I didn't see any of the shows. It was a hot sunny day, so all of the water attractions were really popular. The prices were pretty fair in comparison with other amusement park type places. There was really only one main eating place which was decent. The only real complaint (and reason for the 4 stars) was the lack of staff. The ice cream/slushy station had a really long line and the poor guy working had a lot of grumpy people to deal with. There was like one person working each attraction and most of the workers seemed less than thrilled to be there. That being said, the bumper boats guy was great! We will definitely go back again. But maybe in the fall when it won't be meltingly hot.

Beautiful museum, castle, and chapel. St. Francis Xavier is the patron saint of missionaries and one of the founders of the Society of Jesus.

Interesting castle in beautiful surroundings with a handy hotel at about 150 metres distance for drinks or whatever. We arrived about two minutes before their last admission for the day at 6:30pm (fairly early for Spain?) We received a good welcome despite this. There are quite a few steps for the elderly, but they're all pretty clear to see and the people kept smiling as we made our slow progress through the whole building.
There are tableaux of St. Fransico Javier's journeys and times. Best are perhaps the tower and the original chapel.

High-quality public albergue in most aspects. The Dutch church volunteers are kind but a bit like the boot camp drill sergeants, especially on assigning the beds - strictly sequential, no consideration whatsoever of the gender, couple, or groups. Third weeks into offseason camino albergues and mostly flexible bed assignment, I was first surprised and even little annoyed by their attitude/behavior, but now think that may be a good thing for setting the mood for the whole camino journey haha

Wonderful monument of Navarese medieval culture and architecture of XIV century. Don't forget to visit the cloister where you are going to find the tomb of Navarese Knight Enel Omorio who died in 1393. Through the cloister you can get in to the Chapel where the Royal Navarese Mausoleum is and where you are going to find the tomb of King Sancho VII of Navarre who totally crashed Moors at famous battle of Las Navas de Tolosa. King was the real giant two meters and seven centimeters tall. So, entire complex is one of the greatest national monuments of the Kingdom of Navarre. There is also small museum dedicated to medieval Navarese culture where you can find two maces of beginning of XIII century. Alas! This part of the Kingdom of Navarre was conquered and annexed by the Kingdom of Aragon in 1512.

Farm Agerria

Sights & Landmarks
Farms
Farm Agerria offers a fantastic opportunity to visit a cheese manufacturer and enjoy a free guided tour with clear explanations, followed by a delightful tasting of various farm products. Visitors are warmly welcomed, including those arriving in motorhomes, as there is ample parking space available with stunning mountain views. The farm's proximity to nearby caves adds further attraction for visitors, making it well worth the detour. Farm Agerria comes highly recommended for its excellent experience and cheese production.
Thanks to Bernadette & Jean Claude for the opportunity to visit and stay over with our motorhome at their delightful farm.
The farm tour included a wonderful tasting experience in the shop.
The highlight for us was to see the sheep being milked, which was absolutely fantastic.
We saw the wonderful pigs the next day, they were as happy as .... the saying goes.
One thing was abundantly clear was the passion, care and welfare of their animals enjoying life in the natural surroundings.
Apart from the cheese and ham, we took many fond memories away with us.

Quartier Kolorotz, (Saint-Martin-d'Arberoue), Pyrénées-Atlantiques, 64640 Saint-Martin-d'Arberoue, France
Guided tours of caverns featuring ancient paintings & engravings plus stalactites & stalagmites.
Absolutely mesmerising caves with over 80,000 years of occupation. Our guide Stephanie was excellent and she happily answered all of our questions. The caves are 14C so it’s recommended to wear a fleece or jacket. After reaching the first parking just off the main road, you can continue driving to a second parking about 300m up to save you 10’ walking.
Alex Marca — Google review
Caves were fascinating and guide was great. Tour was in French so my family was lost but I translated the important facts.
Cave tour takes about an hour and is guided. No photos allowed in the caves.
The surrounding countryside is stunning.
Katy Song — Google review
These caves are an amazing natural feature spoiled by over touristifaction. The entrance fee is expensive and when we tried to translate the French guide we were told to be quiet. I do think however it is worth a visit as the caves are awesome to see and it’s very sad that they have turned this natural beauty into a money making machine. Things to note: no photography allowed even without a flash which is a shame also take a jumper as it’s a bit chilly in the caves also the first parking you see is not the only one you can drive a bit further and is saves a walk up the hill.

Amazing caves, the stalactites and stalagmites were breath taking! The tour lasts about an hour and you might want to take a jumper, it's a little fresh once in the cave. Definitely worth visiting!
Paula Whitehead — Google review
Really beautiful cave, but sadly some stalactites are broke.
Also, I wish the speaker would talk more about the pre-historic era. Other than that, I would definitely going there, especially in the summer when it's very warm outside (temperature in the cave is 14°C).

This is a superb place. It’s semi- buggy friendly. One or two places where we had to lift buggy. It’s worth the trip. Some questions were tricky others easier which makes it good for all the family. There are picnic benches and a restaurant nearby. Plenty of climbing frames, rope bridges etc. not sure you’d need 8 hours but if you’ve a few pals I’m sure the children would loop the climbing frames more than once. It’s beautiful to walk around. Even bring a book and leave the kids off. €70 for family 2ad + 3ch under 4 free. Discount to book online.
Very hot day here today and no breeze to offer relief, still worth it.

We visited just to see the house and we’re more than impressed by the unique collection of 18 th century memorability displayed and the quality of restoration undertaken on the home. This really is a museum presented to the highest standards. Our appreciation goes to our guide who showed great depth in her knowledge and presented well in English ( we were lucky for tours are normally conducted in French). The park staff were also accomodating of us; pleasant and helpful. We are more than satisfied we diverted to Lass.

Seasonal facility with ziplines & a treetop ropes course, plus quad bikes & a paintball arena.
We did the tree courses, my 5yr old and 7yr old went on approx 7 courses many times, for up to 3 hrs in total. They loved it. It does need adult assistance on some of the courses just to bring a pully across. The adults courses are from approx aged 10, there were approx 10 to choose from. We didn't do the quad biking despite there being plenty to choose from. This activity is very very good value for money.

A really excellent day out. Our family of four (including 12 and 14 year olds) arrived at Adrénaline Parc before midday, paid for our tickets and was quickly taken through the thorough safety briefing, before setting out on the climbing courses. There are loads of courses to try, ranging in difficulty from easy to extremely challenging and suited all of our families members, the hardest are definitely only for the bravest! The parc filled up during the afternoon, but was never overfull and there wasn’t much of a wait at any of the courses. Sometimes other families got stuck and had to be helped, but this is all part of the experience. We didn’t try the bikes, paintball or the catapult, but families were clearly enjoining them too. We finally left at about 6pm after a thoroughly enjoyable day. It is worth mentioning that the prices are extremely fair and are great value for money in comparison to other similar treetop adventures both in France and UK, especially considering we were there for 6 hours, without any time limitations. Definitely worth a visit!

Just brilliant! Many routes with different levels of difficulty. Suitable for little kids and adults. Make sure you start with lower heights in order not to be petrified on a more difficult routes. Parked at the Pichelebe Bridge. We followed the signed shortest path (about 2km). It was a very hot day and the shadow of the trees was refreshing. In the middle of the route there is an observation platform providing a magnificent view on the protected area in the park. Also observe the treebark at the start of the itinerary.
Thomas Appelmans — Google review
Parked by the road and walked 1 km to the beach which was breathtaking. Hardly anyone there, we had so much space. There is driftwood on the beach which is nice. Swimming was a loy of fun, but not for the little ones as it got deep very soon, and the water did not pull back in the same way as on the public beaches.

Cecile Parfitt — Google review
.
There are several walks alongside the river (although you can often barely glimpse it, due to the thick foliage). You can start at the Pichelebe bridge on the D328, there's a small parking area for cars.
At this point you have the choice: go west towards the sea, go east towards the lake.
Or both!
Going towards the sea you are pretty flabbergasted - well, I was, anyway - to come out of the forest and suddenly see the dunes with half a dozen houses on the top. No proper road access, just a sandy track - surely they need a 4x4? And as they are clearly holiday homes only, does this mean that they have to have a special car just for coming here?
They made an interesting end point to our walk, seeing their gorgeous position on top of the dunes facing the sun as it sets in the ocean of an evening.
Well, I say end point - we had to retrace our tracks, of course, to get back to the car.
On the other hand, you can go east towards the lake. Lovely and cool in the woods, glimpses of the river, you can sometimes hear the boatmen and their passengers.
To go on the river itself, you have to join the little flotilla of rowing boats that leaves, twice a day, from the wooden information centre "Les Bateliers du Courant d'Huchet" at one end of the beach on the south shore of the Lac de Leon.
It's quite pricey - €13, €18 or €23 for 2, 3 or 4 hours - but you have to bear in mind that there are only half-a-dozen paying passengers in each boat and the poor man has a pretty hard slog of it, especially rowing back against the current. You generally need to reserve the day before.
What you can't do is make an independent trip down the river, as it is a protected nature area. On the lake shore you can hire canoes, pedaloes and those wonderful silent electric boats - great fun and no effort - but there are buoys in the lake with notices warning you to keep well away from the entrance to the Courant.
A lovely day out, whether you walk, get an electric boat, or get rowed by a strong young man.

Located in Sabres in the heart of the déparment Landes, this open-air museum was opened in 1970 and was among the first of these types of museums in France. Its aim is to conserve, study and transmit the heritage of the Grande Lande by recreating the life of its inhabitants in the 19th century. A recreated and safeguarded heritage site, the Ecomusée displays the everyday life of farmers and herders that lived in and cultivated the area some 150 years ago. Many of the unique buildings in this museum were transferred from the surrounding area, recreating a typical settlement in the Landes in the 19th century. The museum itself is very extensive and designed with attention to details. Apart from tours, visitors can also take part in workshops and daily events. I have visited the Écomusée several times over the past years and absolutely enjoyed it! The train ride to and from the museum is especially nice. The prices are acceptable given the time one can spend in the museum and the amount of things to see and discover. Be sure to arrive before noon so you have enough time to discover the whole site!

Great FUN for the entire family. The site contains loads of inflatable water games comprising slides, zip-line (costs extra), obstacles, climbing wall, balls which you can try crossing (I have seen nobody make more than 3 or 4 balls) and many more. You can take the 1h or 2h session (we took the 1h first but decided to stay for the full 2h as its really great fun). It can get busy but the lifeguards keep the teenagers in check. If you have younger children you can choose one of three family mornings for children under 10. Highly recommended for a fun outing.

We found it by chance and, oh boy, what a pleasant surprise. We didn't know whether to go at first because it wasn't THAT hot but it was not a problem. You don't stop moving and having fun. No time for being cold.
1h is definitely not enough but 2h might be too much if you are not used to being super active. You can always lie down, chill, and look at people attempting to stay on the platforms. Good fun. Worth the money.
1h - 15€
2 - 20€
Get 2h, you know you want to!

Went with my 8 year old daughter who loves swimming - if she'd been a year younger it would have been too much. It's very big and a bit boisterous - lots of big people wobbling around - you'll often fall off due to someone else's stumble. A bit like being the only sober person in a room full of friendly drunk people. If any particular challenge is too difficult, you just jump in the water and swim to something else. You all have life-jackets. After 2 hours we were exhausted - but it was a great time.
Paul Hollingsworth — Google review
We visited last week and I would advise against visiting.
After 30 seconds in, on the first inflatable, my 8 year old cut his toe and had to come off. We had to take him to hospital for several stitches. Whilst the first aider was very helpful, when I asked for our money back from the manager, I was told I could only get the money back for one person, even though we all had to leave to go to the hospital, and my son had been injured on their equipment. Interestingly, the nurse we saw at the hospital said this was a common injury from there… my son had to rest his foot for the rest of our holiday and we had to change plans- worth bearing in mind before choosing this place.

Amazing!! Freedom to have fun. Lots of variety from tall challenging scary things, to small safe obstacles that any age can have fun doing (but note the minimum height restrictions to get in). Lots of life guards on hand should you need them. My favourite was the zip wire and the human hamster 🐹 wheel!
And if you have bags/ shoes/ handbag then you can use the lockers (they are self service via the touch screen and there is a cost) and you can pay for entry first and say you're going to use the lockers and they add 10 mins to your ticket to enable you to stow your kit without losing time 👍🏻.
Ian Thomas — Google review
Fantastic! 1 hour is enough to see most of it, but you need a little more if you are going to experience all of the big attractions at least once. The tower in the middle has high jumps ( estimate 5m & 7m ), slides and a zip line that cost a little more. You need to be about 10+ and a confident swimmer to enjoy it for best value for money. The air bag launch is MASSIVE!
Lee Botterill — Google review
Super fun experience we recommend the unlimited time since we did 2 hours and wished for longer! Very fun to go to, the children need to be age 8 and up to go and 10+ to attend without an adult. On Wednesday and Friday morning there is a special price for 5-8 year old children and they can then attend the park.
Kim Zijlema — Google review
Great experience for our family of 3 young kids. We went to the morning session for younger kids because our youngest is 6. It was not crowded because it was early in the French vacation season and there were fewer young kids.. The obstacles and slides were lots of fun and there were a good variety of things to do.
Andy S — Google review
Great value for money compared to the UK. 2x 17 yr olds loved it but suitable for all ages
Lucie Staden — Google review
Great fun, a HUGE aqua park set on a beautiful lakeside. The obstacles are really good fun with something for all ages. Great value 15 euro for an hour. Great to get in training for total wipe out!

The Dune of Pilat is a remarkable natural feature located in La-Teste-de-Buch, Arcachon Bay, roughly 60 km from Bordeaux. Its height of 110m above sea level makes it the highest sand dune in Europe and distinguishes it from other dunes across the globe. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views by climbing to the top, which takes about 10-15 minutes at a steady pace while following recent footprints to ease ascent.
Awesome place, beautiful view, must see. And definitely on bucket list.
Luka Bo?njak — Google review
It was surprising to see a mountain of sand since we expected quite flat dune with access to ocean but it was great experience to climb there anywhere. Lots of people so earlier hours is a better time to visit
Parking fee is minimum 6 euro for 4 hours, you can pay at the gate when leaving
Amarok Sh — Google review
An incredible natural phenomena! The massive dune squeezed between the sea and the forest is impressive. Be prepared for a bit of a climb, walking up and along the dune took a bit more effort than I had expected.
Scott Fjordbotten — Google review
Beautiful and large. The entrance is quite steep, with the soft sand, it's getting harder to climb. Once you concured the slope, you will find an extremely beatiful sea shore and beach. It's a great place for a sunny day.
Matteo Fu — Google review
Impressive vistas from atop the Dune. Follow the most recent footprints to make the ascent easier (10-15 min at a steady pace). Stop to take in the view on the way up as, you climb above the tree line.
Christian Siregar — Google review
Amazingly high sand dunes. Great views over the ocean and forests. Perfect place for sunsets. Most busy part is where the parking spot is. Stray away and you’ll have space enough :)
X-Plore World — Google review
gorgeous dune, for all sportive activities; don't underestimate the physical effort to climb it; but the view is stunning, especially sunset view
ILOVEALGARVE — Google review
This should be in your top 3 must-visit destinations in France! The mini desert is incredible and can be a challenge to go up and down the sand. Being there at sunset is outstanding!
Yanko Georgiev — Google review
Best Sandy dunes in Europe, worth the detour and even a night stay in the area. Prepare yourself to hike a big Sandy Hill, but the view at the top is worth it. Way easier going down.
Paddle'n Go — Google review
Must visit place, be prepared to climb the mountain of sand 😉
There are well equipped WC facilities.
Parking free if charge.
Bus stop very close

Unique and a great little workout. Nice sand and forest structure to catch great views and to enjoy.
Marco Antonio — Google review
It's such a cool place to enjoy the sunset! It's my second time here, and the views are breathtaking. At the moment, you can still see the remains of last year's fires. But nature will regenrate for sure and the beautiful forest behind the dunes will be all green again. Climbing can be a bit physical, even if you take the stairs, but it's really worth it 😄
Ana Grozea Jauntingtrips[.]com — Google review
Amazing natural feature of nature. Climbing can be physical, 1 step up, 2 steps down. Barefoot is easier to climb. And fun. The view is amazing at the top of the dune.

Such a shockingly amazing experience. Even in the winter time this place is a wonderful adventure to be taken on. I will definitely be back during the warmer months!

Very fine sand dune. A bit of a trek but the view is worth all of it. Highly recommended!
Karl Joseph Martin — Google review
A must stop if you are in the area. Plenty of parking and a few rip off takeaway outlets.
The views from the top of the dune are well worth the effort of getting to the top but I would recomend using the steps provided.
Andy Bro — Google review
Just... stunning. Really. ~15€/person for a ticket from Bordeaux to Arcachon and then to the Dune du Pilat was absolutely worth it for the trip up and down the dune as well as the surprising _lack_ of people relaxing at the beach, even though it was still quite hot when we went there! You can relax on the top/on the beach at the bottom, you can hike along the (massively long) dune and take in the view and do couple of other things (like paragliding) too.
TheOutrageousZ — Google review
This is a must see spot if you’re in the region. The parking was not too expensive (less than 8€) and the views were incredible. Good to bring a picnic blanket and be prepared for some wind coming up from the ocean. The beach is accessible, but it’s a long walk back up the dune. Definitely worth a visit in any case.

Le Phare du Cap Ferret is a popular tourist destination that features cartography and marine navigation exhibits. Located in a lighthouse 53m high with 258 steps, the attraction offers visitors an awesome view of the surrounding area. In addition to providing information about its use, tourists can also visit the nearby freely accessible blockus. The attraction's location makes it easily accessible by car, and visitors can enjoy some delicious oysters while taking in the charming ambiance.
Its a lovely view to behold from here. Although check the opening hours before you go.

Cool place, very very high and a long stair, quite a workout 😁 A small souvenir shop. It has museum part with nice maps.
Sometimes the queue is long, and the guest capacity of the lighthouse is limited.

Yes, a lighthouse. Certainly with a lot of history but without that certain optical something.
Tassilo Kubitz — Google review
Admission fee is quite expensive for what is worth but views in a sunny day are beautiful

What a point of view !
You can see up there the whole Bassin d’Arcachon, Dune du Pylat and more. There’s too a small museum on the ground and first floor, with touchscreens more or less reactive but very interesting !
At some point there is a quizz about le Bassin and navigation, that we found too short with our friends. But except this, good destination ! Not too expensive

You need to do it...
53m high
258 steps...
Awesome view...
And some nice information about it's use and so on...
You can park easily around it so no need to go too far away.
Nice information is that there's a blockus to be seen and that can be visited freely next to it.

Such a beautiful lighthouse with spectacular views over Cap Ferret and across the bay! Also, be sure to visit the German Blockhouse discovered on the grounds - Very interesting to see how they were constructed and used.
Phil Berndt — Google review
Be there on time if you dont want to wait too long to get to the top (only 10/15 persons at anytime are allowed up). The little museum afterwards is a nice addition. Dont forget to visit the german bunker (blokhaus) on the right of the tower (for free).

Fabulous lighthouse. Truly a fun experience. Views of the Bassin are dynamite. Love the Cap Ferret

The lightgouse is very nice and the view is stunning. You have to buy a ticket for the lighthouse and thr museum. The museum looks interesting too, but all the signs are French only. If you speak French, I would say 4,5 of 5

Le Thiers is a well-established brasserie located on the beachfront of Arcachon Bay. They offer a menu that includes burgers, seafood platters and sundaes. Although the prices are considered high compared to other similar restaurants, it's worth it for the location. The staff is friendly and accommodating even though they don't have baby changing facilities available. The service can be slow at times, but overall Le Thiers offers good food in a beautiful setting.
The staff have been welcoming. The burger was ace. Would defiantly come back.

Very old decor
Barrier obstructing sea view
But Irish coffee was delicious and Service nice too
Alex Gil — Google review
Good location, swift service from the waiters, and the food came out quickly. But apart from that it felt like a tourist trap, with really mediocre food. The calamari was really tough and rubbery and nearly inedible, even the mayonnaise was strange, very thick and not nice at all. The mussles in the Roquefort sauce was nice, however the fries weren't amazing.
Shantis Tae — Google review
We had a crying baby in desperate need of a nappy change and walked in here off the street. The staff said that they didn't have any baby change facilities but we were welcome to use a quiet corner of the restaurant to change the nappy. Very accommodating! I don't know if they assumed we were customers or not. Anyway we stayed and had two canelés and a couple of drinks anyway. The service was friendly and prompt, the prices were quite high but you pay for the location as well here as it is perfectly situated for the beach front. Thank you for your hospitality!
Luke Richards — Google review
Depressing. Average food, served by inept staff at extortionate prices. €11 for a flat 50cl beer caps off an absolutely bog standard experience at Le Thiers. The worst part, you can tell they don’t care; there’ll be more mugs making the same mistakes the following night.
James — Google review
As newish residents to the area, we are exploring the local cafes. This one stands out for price gouging. We ordered an iced coffee. Usually we are asked if we want milk or sugar - no questions asked to our preferences here. We are delivered two giant black coffees with ice & no sugar. Then asked to pay - a whopping 10,50 per drink.
Coffee quality not exceptional. Won't be goi g back any time soon.

The most disgusting food you can eat.
The mussels smells bad, uneatable.
The Meat cold and not tender.

One of the many restaurants that are all in a row, and they pretty much all offer the same thing. Service wasn't terribly friendly but that's for par in such a touristy place. The moules were great, the fries could be a little more crispy.
Talid Jalbout — Google review
Good food, but rather pricey (compared to other beachside restos and similar foods) and the service is rather long.
Angeline Tandiono — Google review
Nice staff, but lousy food given the price point. Fried fish was dry and tough, fries were damp and cold, only about halv the ordered mussels were open. Nice location though.
Anders Malmberg — Google review
Very nice place. They have oysters I do not have them but I saw that mane local people ate them there. I had very nice steak with some special local sauce and was delicious and the Bordeaux homemade local sweet was super great :)

Pretty underwhelming to be honest. The mussels were quite dry. The server forgot to bring my aioli for my fries.
The Sauternes wine was delicious though 🤷🏽♂️

A most beautiful, authentic, historical chateau! Highly recommend visiting it. A special thank you to the tour guide for a wonderful tour of the chateau itself. Thank you for the family maintaining it for posterity. The chateau is steeped in 10 centuries of history, which one can feel at arrival.

Well-preserved Chateau still family owned with signifance to both French and British royal succession through Eleanor of Aquitaine. Working wine production of Sauterne wine. The tour ends with a tasting and the opportunity to buy this delicious dessert wine at reasonable prices.

Pretty nice castle with a very big garden. Don't forget to come when the weather is nice, it's much better! To visit the interior, it has to be a guided visit so there is not the possibility to freely visit it. It is prohibited to take pictures inside which is why I am putting 4 stars. Not a very big castle but it's still something fairly nice.

Wonderful historic chateau, really nice people who work there, even has sarcophagi and Troglodtye storage!!!!
2 walled fortresses with Renaissance & 19th-century details, occupied by the same family since 1306.
Really a wonderful place for a visit. The castle is being renovated with great attention to history. The grounds are lovely and it is most assuredly worth a visit. Also on the grounds is the Chapel Saint Michel which is a pleasant little find.

A beautiful castle. Privately owned and in the process of being restored, very well, I may say. There are some videos on YouTube that show how much attention to detail the owners are making to ensure that it is correct. It is well worth a visit and the owner will guide you around his beautiful house, personally, showing you all the details of this interesting castle. I definitely recommend a visit.

Best castle tour ever.
It was so special to be shown around by the owner of this ancient castle. It's very moving to see how lovingly maintained and yet original the castle is, making it quite unique in the world as a museum, as well as a private home and a castle.

What an amazing chateau. It and the chapel are in incredible condition. Lovely lady at reception, who allowed me to leave my bicycle in the foyer, and possibly the best guided tour I’ve ever been on. The guide was excellent and the stories and history very interesting. Check the opening hours as googles weren’t up-to-date and don’t drive by without stopping!

This is an amazing and beautiful castle. You must see this to believe with your own eyes the details and history of this lovely location. If you are fortunate enough to get a tour you will see the vibrant colors of the chapel and main castle. The setting will provide you with a good understanding of medieval defense systems and architecture. We had the lovely surprise ending of finding out who our tour guide was without his disguise ‼️‼️‼️ Do not miss this stop on your tour of Bordeaux 😍😍😍

Came here on a friday afternoon, a nice (mostly) sunny day and expected a crowd of visitors.
Only to find a single car in the unpaved (but free) parking lot. We didn't plan to go inside the castle, just take turns walk on the grounds and around the castle (we had our dog with, which was not allowed on the grounds).
It is a very impressive sight, this castle. With the few clouds in the back it really made an eerie, atmospheric mood.
The castle itself is very well maintained and taken care of. You could see the insides as well for a smaller fee. Surely a thing to do another time.
There are four smaller towers on each corner and a big center tower. A moat surround the whole castle. It's a castle as you would draw one when you're asked for. A "typical" (is there?) castle shape. Could be from a fairytale or a knight's movie.
There's also a very very nice old chapel on the grounds and you can also do some wine tasting in another building.
There's a big field in fron of the castle, great to make some nice pics. Across the roads is a huge vineyard, if you're interested in checking that one out.
A very nice visit. And it's suprising why it's not more visited. Maybe it usually is, but on that day there were all together only a handful of visitors around.
Alex Haas — Google review
The castle had an interesting history although I wouldn’t recommend the tour for young children. It was all in french and walking around rooms looking at antiques didn’t interest my 5yr old at all. Although I enjoyed the tour and looking at the building and the pretty chapel.
We purchased a nice bottle of wine from the Chateau vineyard which was a lovely reminder of our visit.
The chateau is a fair distance from the carpark so harder for disabled access.
Hannah Martin — Google review
Very nice castle. The guides are super nice (The visit was in french though). This castle renovation was one of the last work of Violet-le-Duc.
Unlike a lot of castle in France, this one has kept a lot of furniture which makes it very original.
The landscape in the middle of the vineyard and forest is very lovely.
