St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cesis | Cēsu Svētā Jāņa baznīca /
St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cesis is a significant medieval church located outside of Riga, Latvia. Built in the 13th century, it still serves as an active Lutheran church and boasts a rich history. The church facade is awaiting restoration, but the community remains vibrant and engaged. Visitors can explore exhibitions inside and admire impressive features such as the tombs of the Masters of the Livonian Order and miraculously preserved stained glass with the Latvian coat of arms.
Nice Church
Ian Y — Google review
It's OK at max. Maybe, if you stretch your visit might be able to stay 15 minutes inside. Although, that is not counting climbing the stairs.
But in the church itself there is nothing that you would not find in most other churches as well.
So, it will be a run trough visit at most.
Ah, almost forgot, the glass in lead windows are actually not half bad at all.
P B — Google review
Pretty, very old, church with a terrifying (fun) option to tour the bell tower. The church is pretty, but let's be honest - all churches from that era are. For mere 2€ you can take your life in your hands and climb the stairs of the ~65m bell tower for a view. Most of the thrill comes from navigating the near-black steep staircase on your way up. Still, I enjoyed it.
Rich Bell — Google review
Nicely fixed up white church that really stands out in the town. Especially at night, the church shines with the spit lights.
The inside still needs to be finished being restored.

I had a view only from the outside. Beautiful place

Nice church, needs a coat of paint. We were here to early to go inside which was a pity.

Old, intresting, beautiful.

The church facade still awaits restoration, but the community seems to be very active. The guide, a senior lady, is very vigorous, helpful and gave lots of information, as did the exhibitions inside. The tombs of the Masters of the Livonian Order and the stained glass with the Latvian coat of arms, which was miraculosly preserved by the pastor during the Soviet time are impressive.

Rushed by schedules to respect with regard to the day's program I could only contemplate this building for 15 minutes, it's better than ignoring its existence.

Lielā Skolas iela 8, Cēsis, Cēsu pilsēta, Cēsu novads, LV-4101, Latvia
The Cēsis Castle is a romantic medieval architecture fortress consisting of two parts; the old Wenden castle, built by Livonian knights in 1214, and an 18th-century manor house that was once home to the German counts von Sievers. The former is characterized by sorrowful dark-stone towers that were destroyed in 1577 by Russian tsar Ivan the Terrible after its defenders committed suicide with gunpowder.
Once the mightiest fortress of Livonia, this castle in Cēsis is a great place to visit. You can climb up to the roof to enjoy the view of the town. Even though the castle is quite destroyed you can enter some of the inner chambers and explore the remains. Outside the castle there is an exhibition in the open air where you can see some tools, weapons and handcrafts. Overall it leaves an impressive image of a Teutonic Order times.
Stas Medvedev — Google review
Great place, has loads to offer, a lot of information but only in English and Latvian. Have outside space with activities and people dressed in traditional clothing and doing asigned location tasks, like leather work, wood work, gardening, etc. Inside is great interaction where you can sit down for wonderful video of time starting from 1213 - 2019 years. There is also museum part with paintings. Full entrance price is 10 euro, garden and castle bit is 6 euro and museum is 4 euro on it's own. Would take about 3h to fully enjoy this place.

Just go!!!!
This castle is located in the most charming village of Cesis.
Everything is postcard beautiful!
Village and Castle are an extremely easy 4-5 min walk from the train station.
The Castle itself is a marvel and you see so much! They give you an antique lantern on arrival and off you go through spiral staircases to explore!
Parts of the grounds are also interactive with a working mid evil garden.
They have a wonderful video show at the very top of one of the towers.
Also, don’t miss the museum at the entrance as well. If you walk clear through to the library you’ll find access to the tower that has an awesome outdoor view of the entire village.
Save some time to eat at a cafe on one of the cobblestone streets.
A true highlight of our trip!
Nina Buckley — Google review
Best castle to tour in all of Latvia. Be sure to grab a candle lit lantern when you get tickets and explore the castle by candle light just like in the Middle ages. Also, don't miss the multimedia history exhibit in the castle tower.
john siegel — Google review
I didn’t go on the tour so my review is far from complete. The castle is on a hill above a lovely park. If you want to see the inside you have to pay, which I opted not to do, but walking around the outside is great too. The walk only takes about 10 minutes but it offers some great views of the exterior and you can get up on an adjacent hill to see some of the town through the towers.
Z W — Google review
Stunning castle and mostly in great condition. Interesting displays inside along with a pretty good museum. The latter could do with some more English signage but apart from that a €10 entry fee and smiling attentive staff.
david howells — Google review
Definitely worth to visit. I especially like the 4D projection for illustrating the history and functionality of the castle. The lantern makes tourists more engaging.
Lance Lee — Google review
Visited Jan 2, 2022 and arrived at 3:30 local time with sunset at 4 PM so they give you authentic candle lanterns to make your way through the dark, unlit walkways and stairs. It was a very interesting and exciting way to tour an old castle.
Brian Krull — Google review
Loved this place. Only 10 euro to visit everything on the site. Beautiful 13th century castle ruins with benches and picnic tables in the garden area. Definately a must see while in Latvia as it's only a 3 euro ride from Riga to here. Very easy walk from the train station. Staff were cordial and helpful.
B Womack — Google review
Definitely worth the time and effort to visit. The castle is 800+ years old. They give you a candle lantern to navigate the very dark stairwells which gives a realistic feel to your time in the castle. Nice museum on site as well.

Unique, historical, ancient, medieval Livonian knights castle. With a very tragic story… must visit place if you ever come so Cēsis town.

Beautiful castle with rich history. Visit the new castle which has big museum. Easily can spend 2 hours
Daler Farkhodov — Google review
Great museum. Very interesting approach with candles to lighten your way while climbing to towers. It’s especially interesting for kids. In one of the towers there were a tower history video with 360 degree - similar to planetarium. It’s possible to visit 2 old castle towers, medieval garden and main museum. At moment when we visited in museum there were an exhibition called “Hallo” about communication and phones. Most interesting part were 2 old phones with circle pad, where you can call from one to other. Kid loved it. It was an amazing experience.
Azar Safarov — Google review
The town is very nice and the castle makes it more interesting. The entrance is from a courtyard near the park. 10 euros the ticket. The exhibitions are very rich and the place is also very attractive. English around the exhibits and not on the piece of paper per room would be great.
Cristi — Google review
Off to a good start with a very friendly cat at the entrance! Entry is worth the price with a very interactive and well kept castle with lots to listen to and watch. Some very interesting history and very accessible. A highlight was being given a candle lantern to explore the winding staircases.
One of the best castles in Latvia and well worth a visit
Juliet McQueen — Google review
Very beautiful castle and park... liked the authentic atmosphere a lot... the castle is of course rebuilt/renovated in various areas to not fall into decay, but it is not subtracting anything from the experience
The trip with old light to the top and the multimedia movie in the tower is really amazing experiences
Highly recommend this castle
Thomas S. Iversen — Google review
Cēsis castle is simply beautiful. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I thought it would be a quick visit but we spent 2 hours. I was very impressed by the amount of interaction with the people working there. They have a cool games area where you can see and try ancient games, walking on sticks. There is a musician continuously playing traditional instruments and we had the chance of meeting a person re-enacting the trade of doing rosaries. Apparently on weekends there are more artisans. The animation in the masters chamber in the west tower is really well done. All in all huge applaud to the people working behind the scenes and the 2 friendly girls who worked the reception.

Fantastic place to visit for children and also for adults. Loads of wooden sculptures, they all are interactive, so you can have a looooot of fun playing different unusual games. Entrance costs 6 eur which is totaly worth it. Can take some food with you to do some nice picnic there.

Don’t miss this weird but fun place! It’s an unmissable opportunity for the most bizarre day of your lives! Bring cash to pay for your tickets. I don't recommend the big labyrinth for kids because it is full of rude sculptures. The rest is great and the wooden games are very cleverly made!

Fantastic place to visit with kids, lot of games and attractions. Very nice labirints. Reasonable prices and there is things to do all day long :) free parking only not so much places ;) Don't forget bring your on food and drinks, unfortunately there is not possible to buy anything.

Nice place to visit with children. We were out there on a cold winter day - they were open and really nice. Had a real blast as we were the only ones there. There are sone activities under the roof too. So good for any weather. Suggested.

It's awesome! We've visited multiple times and definitely will be back. Our kids love it there. Also, the owners are amazing, I managed quite well with my rudimentary Russian - the owners attitude was just amazing.

Large area and many attractions for children - a maze of monsters in the forest, games, climbing constructions, swings. Picnic tables. Naughty thematic maze for adults. There is something to do all day.

Interesting place to visit with kids, lots to do, even for adults.
Annette Zee — Google review
Firstly no car park, spaces for a few cars at the side. There is no place to pay just a man who comes to greet you and wants €6 who may be the owner. You will not get a ticket (I suspect no tax is being paid!).
The area is very much for children, with lots of very lovely wooden sculptures and simple activities. There is 1 toilet which is on the road and was full with flies, so avoid! There is nowhere to buy an ice cream or a cold drink. There is nowhere to eat.
The owner said we had to be 18 to go into the labyrinth. When we did go into the labyrinth we were shocked to see lots of explicit wooden sculptures. But what was more shocking was that people were walking into the labyrinth with children. Why would you put such a thing in the middle of a children’s playground?? I can only wonder about the owner! Children and this sort of thing just do not go together!! When we asked the owner why children were going into the labyrinth he just said that it’s up to the parents!
Overall I’m not sure what to think. Anyway, go around the corner on the main road and go through the trees, that way you can get in for free and decide for yourselves.
Valmiermuižas alus darītava is a unique countryside brewery and restaurant located outside the town. The cozy atmosphere of the place resembles a countryside house, offering a spacious restaurant and a shop where visitors can purchase local goods such as bio cosmetics, cheese, sweets, beer, wine, strong spirits, and souvenirs. The restaurant prides itself on using seasonal products to create high-quality dishes dominated by vegetables. Visitors have praised the delicious food and accommodating staff.
The atmosphere of the place is really good!
I loved their tables outside with nice surrounding. The service was one of the nicest I’ve experienced in Latvia. Burger was good (not the best for this price but still good). The variety of beer is awesome.
There’s also a shop with their product where you can buy pretty cool things.

This is a unique place outside the town, which has it's own cozy atmosphere of the countryside house. There is a brewery building and a spacious Restaurant, as well as a shop, where you can buy some local goods - Bio cosmetics, cheese, sweets, beer and wine, some strong spirits and souvenirs.
The prices at the restaurant are worth the quality of the food, because they make everything from the seasonal products, so vegetables definitely dominate in the menu.
We tried three different dishes and their beer ice cream - everything was fresh and delicious, and the waiters can also advise you some beers to pair with the food. Don't miss the chance to use such an opportunity!
Even though the service is quite slow, it doesn't really matter, because there are many things to do there, walk around, enjoy the sun or a warm summer evening.

I think it was my best gastronomic experience in Latvia so far. Food was very delicious and staff was very nice and accommodating. Their variety of non alcoholic drinks was impressive - I don't know any other so delicious and so natural drinks in the market. Have been here twice but never got into the Mausoleum. Probably should come on a workday. However, as a part time habitant of Northern Latvia (which is basically the same as Southern Estonia), I understand why de Tolly decided to settle down in Jõgeveste. Really great place to visit and to learn about the legendary Barclay de Tolly.
Awesome caves. Crawl in at your own risk. But it goes really deep.
Margus Rebane — Google review
Quite interesting place to see for a short break from a car ride. Caves in the sandstone used to consist of multiple passages to seven different rooms, but some rooms have collapsed now. The cave used to be called "hell" during old times. Passages were made by spring water, however, people have expanded them and used them for a refuge. As the passages are quite low, it is harder to see much inside. Personally, it seemed a bit scary to crawl :)
Helen V — Google review

Tiina — Google review
My plan was to come here in summer but I just couldn't wait! It is an amazing quiet place for nature lovers and adventurers as myself.
The first thing I noticed was silence. Although the caves are located quite close to the highway, the minute you step into the forest/park, the noise disappears.
My hosts were a couple of deers; I also noticed some other animals signs on the snow 😁
I didn't have enough courage to explore the caves inside because I was alone, however, next time I'll take someone with me. Maybe the legend about the Devil inside scared me, I don't know.
Anyway, it is rather easy to get there: take a bus nr 80 from Tõrva or walk for ca 35 minutes from the city; if you come by car, there is a parking lot right next to the park with the caves.
Definitely recommend this place for visiting.

Great place to visit and explore and its free.
There is an icream outlet in the carpark great on hot days.
We stayed at the panorama suite, it was super nice.
Loved the spa. Because we stayed there in middle of the week, the spa was really quiet and felt super private. Loved the saunas and outdoor swimming pool.
I Recommend getting a spa treatment, massage was lovely and relaxing.
10 points for the service also. Receptionist was nice and friendly.
The kitchen made a super delicious vegan dinner for us. Thank you chef 😊
Defenitly visiting again 😊

Long time we wanted to be here. Once drove past and came to see, we liked it. And here came to celebrate my husband’s birthday. In addition to the atmosphere of the castle, we enjoyed excellent spa and great food in the restaurant. But I have to note the downsides: rice porridge is not made from rice, the day after the arrival there was no cleaning in our room (although friends cleaned up), in the part of the restaurant, where the dinner was very crowded, bustle, no sense of parade. Steak knives brought back after it was served. Despite the fact that we had suites, the design in them is strange (but then we saw the numbers in the next building and it became clear that all this). The designer mixed incompatible styles and the performance of the repairs also raises questions. And finally, my husband had a birthday, usually hotels give wine and sweets, and here nothing. But thanks for the spa, the food and the fine coffee!

+ luxurious and clean
+ private and quiet
+ wide range of saunas available
+ nothing to do there for kids, thus no loud kids running around (a plus for us, negative for families)
- the general air in the spa and the big pool were too cold in our opinion (29C, we prefer 32+C)
- no food or snack options from the bar - only drinks and smoothies
- old school locks in a new spa. should use some sort of magnetic chip system which would allow tracking for bar payments as well. currently the number on the key was asked when getting drinks from the bar
Mart Mägi — Google review
The hotel itself is very beautiful, spa is nice and you will have a very tasty dinner in the restaurant(same about breakfast). Unfortunately the bathroom in our room was full of mould, it was just everywhere and you can feel the smell of it when you breath! The cleanliness standard is upsetting!

Doesn’t live up to its expectations. Service was unfriendly, lousy and slow. The SPA has a good variety but was overcrowded. There wasn’t enough tables available for breakfast either. The rooms are spacious and cozy. Food was average at most.

Wonderful castle which has rooms in an alternate building so make sure you check where do you have the room. It has great parking and exquisite spa option. The restaurant is really busy on weekends, book a table in advance! We got a table at 10pm. The service over there was great though but the prices are quite high, considering it's rular location.
Overall it's a great place to stay for a weekend getaway to the place with incredible scenery and views.

Good experience overall, highlight is the room. Rooms are true to time. Dissapointment is the customer service both restaurant and front desk.
We came all the way from Tallinn to visit this place. On arrival you just have to buy a ticket and then it is up to you how far you would like to drive. This place has lovely touch of human but in the same time you can feel like deep in the forest - depends what you walk. The place has nice stairs so you do not have to climb the mud. Also awesome views to the river and really awesome tall trees. There are activities on the road, nice picnic place we found next to the river and interesting sculptures.
So, if you need to gather energy but are afraid of walking to the wild forest- it is nice pick.

The lake is probably few kms away from the bus stop. This is really nice if you go in slightly cloudy day. U will walk through city, highways, jungle areas etc. The length is 13.5 km, which would take roughly 3hrs. We started 1pm and finished by 4pm that includes snacks time I. The middle of the way. The best place to have snack and rest time is the second resting place after 7km distance.

The remains of probably the biggest fortress in Northern Baltics. By now is has been perfectly cleaned and presented, so all that remains is visible and accessible. To experience the location in the best way go there where no events are in progress, so you can have better ways of exploring the fortress.
While at it do not forget to check out the hanging footbridge in the back corner of the fortress as well as to look over the lake Viljandi from the convent area.
Also check out the poems hidden in the area, accessible via qr codes 😉

A castle ruin which now a popular open air theater. The castle was destroyed in the 17th century which was long ago but still the ruin is very attractive.
You can see the lake from the ruin and make it a very scenic place to visit.
It would be a very fairy tale type castle if it was not destroyed. The surrounding area is just like the scene you always find in the story book.

A very well-preserved and well-maintained complex. There you can walk around, have a picnic, visit various buildings and participate in workshops. It is definitely worth researching about them on the Internet first.
You should take at least 30-45 minutes to walk around the manor park alone. A really interesting place with lots to see and photograph.

Very nice place to relax. I was surprised how everything is open and available for visitors. Nice mansion, variety of animals and nice horses in the stable. Best to visit in the early autumn sunny day to walk around in the park and leave heavy thoughts behind 😀

Olustvere Manor near Suure-Jaani in the country of Estonia is well worth a visit. It lies about 80 miles south of the capital, Tallinn and as well as a canteen and lovely cafe, there are various craft units in buildings including needlework, blacksmith and glass production. The manor itself is very ornate and regal.

Must visit place in Põltsamaa! Old loss which is currently under reconstruction, but you still can enter it and view.

An adequate castle and museum, notably revamped in recent years. The multilayered exhibition within the castle's tower was commendable, providing an insightful journey through various historical strata. The evident pride in local craftsmanship displayed in the meticulous restoration efforts was indeed appreciated. Regrettably, the Rococo hall, which we particularly wished to explore, was not accessible during our visit. The establishment could benefit from an infusion of interactive features to further captivate the visitors. In essence, the museum still exudes a sense of being in the midst of completion - a work in progress, so to speak.

We paid €5 for a family ticket and went to the museum. It was small but nice; they had lots vintage and antique items on display. There was a wine cellar with some outdoor seating. We enjoyed an ice cream here. Also, there was a VERY beautiful handcraft store on the grounds. Worth a short detour from Tallinn to Tartu.

I love history and I love castles, so I found this castle very enjoyable to visit. Not very busy and there's not a ton going on here, but it is cool to stand in the middle of an old crusader fortress. Also some quaint businesses can be found here!

Nice small museum exhibiting the local industry and showing exhibitions of glass artists. The real gem is the glass blower next door who offers excellent workshops on glass blowing in a very approachable manner. Definitely worth a visit if you're anywhere close by. Just make sure to check opening hours and availability.

I loved how this museum had an amazing glass showcase and the option to blow glass yourself. The prices are cheap because it is not that large but make sure you check out all three buildings. The museum is inside the actual building they used to use to blow glass and they still have the original glass heating oven.

The Viru Bog Nature Trail offers a beautiful and serene walk through the Estonian countryside. The path begins with a wide boardwalk leading to an observation tower, then continues on a narrower boardwalk that can be slippery in wet weather. Despite the narrowness of the path, it is easy to follow and provides ample opportunities for taking stunning photos in this isolated setting.
A beautiful path through the bog. At the beginning, the path (boardwalk) is pretty wide and leads to a small observation tower. From there, it continues on a narrower boardwalk, which can be very slippery in wet weather. Recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy the beautiful Estonian countryside.

This wide waterfall cascading into the Jägala River is also a scenic site when frozen in winter.
Wow! What a powerful place!
I went there in winter and spend time there just by myself.
Fresh snow everywhere, natural looking water at the frozen stone wall!
Really enjoyed walking around and I recommend everyone to do the same.
There are two spots where you can have a look to the waterfall and the other parking place on the other side is also a really nice perspective.
30 min by car from Tallinn, toilet boxes around - very peaceful and worth to visit.
Johannes Ebert — Google review
Great to be here once more at the end of the year 2023. The waterfall is, as always, magnificent; during winter, it is usually surrounded by remarkable frozen water structures. Additionally, if you walk towards the flowing river beside limestone formations, you'll reach the beautiful confluence of two rivers. There's a quite special atmosphere here.-) A large and comfortable car parking area is available on-site (on the left side of the river). Plots for picnics and grilling are also established and popular among visitors, of course, when weather conditions are appropriate.
Ivan Kuprijanov — Google review
Visit Estonia and make a trip to this beautiful waterfall. If you want to spend 2-3 hours then take coffee flasks and snacks with you. Now in Feb snow has turned into ice so it is slippery. Be careful.

What an unexpected nature formation not far from capital Talinn. In plain land with no mountains there is nothing really to see and then suddenly waterfalls! And how amazing they are. Wide river has two levels and shallow water is gently falling from above to down part, which visually remind water curtain. Free parking and relaxing quiet surroundings made this place a worth visiting stop on journey to Narva
Marek Kluka — Google review
I was astonished to see such an amazing nature's miracle in such a short distance from the capital city Tallinn. I didn't even expect to see a natural waterfall in Estonia. If you are exploring north of Estonia you must find time to pay a visit to this place.

This is a natural gift. Jägala waterfall is the largest natural waterfall in Estonia. The scene is picturesque; the surrounding area is green and peaceful. This place could be ideal for a family picnic.
The waterfall is about +30 min drive from airport, and about 50 min drive from the harbor. There is a convenient parking place right near there. Also when we visited, there is a small truck food, from which you can buy sausages and hot dogs I think!

I went here in February and it’s been always a magical place from my childhood. Unfortunately this time I visited I fell through the ice, luckily no damage happened, but I was very cold and wet!! Nonetheless the pictures and view was amazing, don’t walk across the snow because it’s all ice and you WILL fall through 😭

Visited end December. The frozen waterfall sitting right next to a flowing one was pretty cool. You can enter underneath one side of the flowing waterfall for some decent shots (see below). One of the three waterfalls in the region. Water is clear and flowing along the river before meeting the beautiful small waterfall. It is in middle of lush forestry surrounding. After the waterfall it continues its way towards the old water plant. You can leave your car or bike on the parking space reserved for the location.

No need to buy tickets. Pretty cool place. When the ice is thick enough, you can walk behind it. Be careful as it can get slippery.

We booked via TripAdvisor and the company Prangli. Cannot recommend this highly enough.
4 others didn't turn up so it was just the two of us with the guide who was super friendly (l'm sorryl didn't get her name) so we had almost a personal tour and it was so good. We got loads of local history from her on the journey to the waterfall which took 25-30mins, pointing out landmarks and giving us local insight that we would never have got going on our own.
Once there we had loads of photo opportunities and got to walk across the frozen lake and behind the waterfall. It was absolutely stunning, so beautiful. It was just starting to thaw so we probably got there on the last day of it being properly frozen (21st Jan). Whilst we were exploring our host set up a picnic in the snow with all sorts of traditional local snacks which were all really tasty and explained the history of them. So many little stories and facts. We even talked about how languages evolved in surrounding countries! Not to mention we got our first taste of Vana Tallinn (yum) and some home made tea which was also delicious.
It wasn't the cheapest trip at around £70 each but we got so much more from it than we would have done just getting a taxi or hiring a car and Would have spent almost as much. My only regret is that we didn't take any cash with us so we weren't able to givea tip which we absolutely felt she earned. Hopefully people will see this review and go spend their money with her as a substitute for that!
100% recommend. Do it.
Jessica Dale — Google review
Independent from the time of the year there’s always beautiful to walk around. With long and colder winter it freezes and you’re able to walk behind the wall of water/ice. But you need to be careful because at one point it will start falling apart so know to stay away.

The Russalka Memorial is a large, sculpted angel monument dedicated to the 177 soldiers who perished when the Russian ship Russalka sank en route to Finland in 1893. The statue stands on a granite pillar and is illuminated by warm lights at night.
The final sight of our free Tallinn walking tour is the imposing Russalka Memorial. It was erected in 1902 to commemorate the 177 soldiers who perished when the Russian ship Russalka (or Mermaid) sank en route to Finland in 1893.
The memorial features a bronze angel standing on tiptoe, holding aloft an Orthodox cross in the direction of the Gulf of Finland. The rough granite pillar on which the angel stands evokes turbulent conditions at sea.
It is often customary for Russian-speaking couples to lay flowers at the foot of the monument on their wedding day.

It's a nice place to reach by any transport. Or simply take a walk from the centre - it's not that far away, in my opinion (if you also enjoy moving by foot). The Russalka Memorial is a beautiful monument erected to those lost when the Russian ship so named sank in a storm and is not really a war memorial as others believe.
The monument is really well maintained as are most public erections, parks and open spaces.

The Tallinn TV Tower is a popular tourist attraction in the city that offers amazing views from the top. The tower also has an outdoor terrace on the 21st floor and is filled with multimedia options that can teach visitors about Estonia and Tallinn. There's also a walkway on the edge of the tower that provides an adrenaline rush for those who dare go, as well as a cinema hall and attractions for children.
This tower is 314 m. high. The place i beautiful, historical and the exhibitions is informative and there are interactive elements to ensure learning for the visitors.
I visited the tower with my mom (age 69) and son (age 17). I took a walk on the safe side of the fence, and my son and mother paid for a walk on the "dangerous" side. We all enjoyed the day, and the instructor/guide (Laura) was really kind.

I didn’t want to go up at the beginning, because 17 EUR seemed to much for a view from tower which is miles away from city, but it did it and it was worrh the money. Except very beautiful view, a lot of information about the tower, how it was built up etc. is available. There is also restaurant at the top.

The TV tower was interesting find during the trip. The view is awesome during a clear day and there are some activities in the observation floor. They also have a restaurant that operates as a cafe in daytime. I would highly recommend to preorder your tickets, because the tower is a really popular attraction during weekends. Also, when you book your visit in advance, you’ll get access to the botanical garden at the same price.

The tv tower is not number one on the list of what to do in Tallin, but a nice activity when there is leftover time. There is a small museum before heading up to the top. Tried the two course business lunch that was 37 € including the entrance fee to the tower.
Tartar was okay or good. Not sure.

Wonderful place to spend a couple hours and get a magnificent view of Tallinn. There are rotating exhibitions, the balcony on the 22nd floor and a restaurant. This is an awesome tower. I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 as I feel it should be cheaper for the entrance fee. The tower itself is cool to go up and get really good views of Tallinn. There is some things to look at before you go which tell of the history of the place. When you get up to the viewing area you can see the different names of the places in the world on the floor and also glass port holes to see a view of below. When you walk up the stairs to the restaurant area you can go outside and see the view even more so and get a nice fresh breeze at the same time. You could probably spend a good 30/40 mins at this attraction. Don’t really need much more time than that. There is a gift shop at the ground level before you exit the tower.

Please give me a👍 if helpful.
The Tallinn TV tower is a must to visit and if you've bought a Tallinn card you can use it here for entry. It's not particularly far from Tallinn centre but you will need a taxi or public transport to get there.
The tower has a collection of historic old radios on show inside. The lift seems very fast and takes you to an eatery serving coffee and snacks and it has a wonderful panoramic view. Take a few steps up some stairs to reach another viewing platform with 360° views and interesting interactive displays. There are also glass portholes in the floor giving you an unrestricted view of the ground many metres below your feet. You can also head outside for an even better view. Fantastic experience👍

A very fun experience, we got to climb the tower and got a great view over Tallinn! It was very windy on the deck but cool that you could go outside and get a good view as well.

Pricy attraction but worth it for the views of the city. We went in the evening and the lights of Tallinn, the harbour and much further away are a beautiful sight.

We bought combined tickets for tv tower and botanical garden and it's only 16€ per person. Liked the view but like every day in Estonia it's quite foggy.

Spent an hour or so at the TV Tower. It was really quiet and we practically had the place to ourselves. The virtually reality headset is good fun, for 5 Euros you can fly around the outside of the tower.

Incredible view of the city and the surrounding area. This a must-go place for me and you can snap some amazing pictures if you've got the proper gear with you. Make sure you walk around and explore the different parts of Talinn from above, as it is quite a uniquely situated city.

It was like we were in kindergarten.
Local residents come here with children and children run around the hall. It is very strange.
I believe that paying 17 euros for one ticket. It is very expensive.
Tallinn's iconic Botanical Garden is a beautiful and well-maintained attraction with a rich collection of plants from all around the world. The gardens are perfect for taking a walk and enjoying the beauty of nature.
A good place to learn about plant species from all over the world. It's a great area to learn with the help of a qualified Botanist with 40years experience.

I was here for the Moroccan Cultural days. I had never been before. I really liked it. The various biome buildings were well done but the best part was the walking paths outside. Beautiful. I'll take our next international visitors when I get the chance. The price is very low as well. Recommended

It's a great pleasure to be at the House of Palms in the middle of winter, with temperatures around zero degrees Celsius outside. The abundance of unique trees, shrubs, succulents, and flowers is amazing, divided into four thematic large expo rooms (like Tropics, Succulents), each with its own temperature, humidity, and even "wind" conditions generated by continuously working ventilators. Multiple gorgeous plants, including orchids, are flowering during February and March. In the central hall, totally unique terrariums with multiple insect-eating plants from different climate regions coexist and thrive. Additionally, some birds, namely several delightful parrot species, are also housed here and thriving.

One of the greatest botanical gardens I have been to! Very well maintained and the garden with herbs and vegetables was amazing! Totally a must when in Tallinn!

Gorgeous place in Tallinn! Absolutely "must visit". I love greenhouse with cactuses and succulents, cozy coffee spot and of course an open territory of Botanical garden representing Estonian nature from a peaceful and rich angle. But give yourself at least few hours to spend there, to sit on some of this tiny benches and slowdown.

Very beautiful, small, botanical garden. We enjoyed walking around the greenhouses and the outdoor gardens. Some parts are under construction at the moment. It was odd to walk through the long wet grass to see the plants, it could have done with being a little shorter. €6 for an adult, half price for seniors, children etc

It's a good garden to visit and have picnic. They have various place to see and the ticket for 1 person is 6 euro and you can see outside and inside of it. They also have a cheaper ticket for family. They have some ponds to sit nearby. However their Rose garden is under construction so we don't see any roses except some bushes of summer rose on the way to garden. I think it would take long time to build so you should consider about it if you only want to visit rose garden. They also have rhododendron area but only some is big while the rest just plant or is small.

The botanic garden was interesting place to visit. The exhibition of plants and trees was well set and it was easy to navigate.
Few things, it seemed like really crowded during Sundays. There were some caged birds that didn’t seem that happy.
But otherwise I’m really happy that I took the time to visit this place.

Lovely botanical garden. They are currently in the final stages (set to complete end September 2021) of a major renovation. However, this does not lead to a negative experience. Look forward to come back and see the finished project.

If you visit Tallinn and you are interested in plants, you must visit the Tallinn botanical Garden! It's not only in rainy days interesting as you can also walk around in outside areas and see a lot of botanical rarities.
The tropic house makes you feel like on vacation trip.

A great place to come. I keep returning again and again to this soul - calming and eye- pleasing garden. Full of air, beauty, blooming trees and cheering flowers. Go alone, take a friend, grab a camera or a book.. feel the pulse of nature. Enjoy your life ☀️

Beautiful botanical garden outdoor and indoor close by the TV tower of Tallinn.
Buy the combi ticket for tower and the garden.
We have been there in fall - but still the trees and gardens have beautiful views!

We bought the combined tickets for tv tower and botanical garden. In the tropical garden had an exhibition of orchids and it was spectacular. The outside gardens are huge but in that time nothing much to see, but I did see a deer on the walk around the forest.

Even thought the weather was still wintery outside mid April it was worth popping in whilst visiting the nearby TV tower. The greenhouses are really well looked after and they have a particular interest in orchids. The cafe is also pleasant.

Beautiful botanical garden greenhouse, lot of plants that are planted 40-50 years ago. Nice place to spend winter day indoors. And there’s cafe inside as well.

The outside area is quite large and I think it is gorgeous during the summer, but plants inside and especially animals look a little sad. The Botanical Garden in Tartu is kind of better to my taste
