This place is amazing, first of all the entrance is free, you pay only if you want to go inside the castle. Is so nice to come here in the summer and stay on a blanket. You have nice things to see here. Love Santander

The place is absolutely beautiful. The views on the sea are breathtaking. The palace is really well taken care of, and the park around too. It's clean and spacious. The only thing that really shocked me was the little zoo with the sea lions and penguins. The enclosures were rather small and they are imprisoned there for pure entertainment. Such place don't belong to 2022. These animals should be freed.
Silver Wotton — Google review
With no Spanish there is no sense to visit the palace. Even with knowledge of this language, it wouldn't be worthy for me as only few rooms were showed. It is more beautiful outside. And the whole penisula
Marta Szumiata — Google review
Spectacular sea views from the peninsula. €5 return ticket for the guided tour on the train up to the Palace. It is in Spanish however, if you have headphones you can plug them in for other languages. Definitely worth visiting especially for the views and atmosphere.
Chris Mc — Google review
The visit to go inside was around 11 euros for two people
The visit was ok... we visited around 5/8 rooms .
As the palacio is now a function place. It has modernised, so it lost it character a lot
I would advise you to save the money and have a walk around it, and if beautiful gardens and scenery
Richard Farrell — Google review
Lovely little peninsula with a nice castle looking building on the top with magnificent views. There is a little "train" service for the ones who can't/do not want to walk but honestly, it is worth the effort. Not too hilly and if you go anti-clockwise you will reward yourself with a chance to see cute little penguins and see lions!
Definitely recommend when you are in Santander! For adults and children alike!
Robert Nuszpl — Google review
Beautiful architecture, this once a Summer Palace of the Spanish Royal Family is the Crown Jewel of Santander with spectacular views to the ocean and the entrance of the Santander Bay.
Exterior scenes for the blockbuster Netflix Grand Hotel TV series were filmed here.
You have to park outside of the grounds and walk up the hill or for those who want to avoid the brisk climb there is a train/trolley that takes you round-trip for €5.00.
The views alone are worth the climb and you don't have to pay admission just to enjoy the views. There is an admission charge of €5.00 for a guided tour.
Highly recommend if you enjoy architecture and ocean/water views, or a "Grand Hotel" fan.
Joel Racet — Google review
Beautiful place.
Tours of the castle at 11am, 1pm and 5pm (only).
The grounds are beautiful.
The walk up to the castle is very nice but super hilly so bring your walking shoes.
Gorgeous views.

The interior is closed but the visit to this peninsular is a must for all the views. If you are lazy they have a shuttle or you can walk all the way round. The bad news is there is not a single toilet!
Richard Pook — Google review
The views are beautiful on a clear day.
I took the train up to the palace which really added to the experience. There are various other things to see in the area of the park. It’s very well maintained with lots of green areas and flowers.
Check out the old ships, the marine animals in their enclosed area, and the marine museum. It is a nice place to explore with views of the nearby beaches.
Veronica Bonilla — Google review
We walked around the small island. Pretty nice park area, which is free to enter and public open. You can go for a walk, see the Palacio, your kinds can play on a separate area, Rex and enjoy the view to the sea or you go to the beach or the small zoo area.
The garden areas and the palacio where super renovated and groomed.
We walked around and enjoyed the morning.
Dogs are as well allowed.
In total really nice and recommended.

Fantastic view of the bay and from both sides.
The palace is situated in such a way that it is surrounded by sea from three sides.
Best scenic and photogenic park in the town.
Huge green field for kids to play and plenty of sitting arrangements for tourists.
All in all a 10/10 place to hang around, making birthday parties in the open, chill out with your gang and even enjoy sun bath in the little adjacent beach.

Actually amazing. This palace has now been turned into a beautiful conference centre. It's also the spot where they filmed Gran Hotel

Impressive house from the outside. It's in English style. Pleasant to walk through the park along the coast and see the flowers. Great views on the surrounding bay. I didn't visit the inside.
Thomas Vermeulen — Google review
We joined the tour of the palace for which we were promised an audio guide in English (the tour itself only runs in Spanish ..) - unfortunately this didn’t work at all and would have been much better to have a separate English tour. The audio clips were in the wrong order, all lasted about 30 seconds vs the actual guide explaining things for 5+ minutes at each stop, and we did not have the option to tour ourselves round. Not worth the money! It’s a lovely house but walking round the park is also a very nice morning out;)

We had a great walk there, it is recommended to visit and enjoy the peace of the place.

Av. de la Magdalena, 1, 39005 Santander, Cantabria, Spain
The Magdalena Peninsula is a scenic spot that boasts a historical palace, beautiful gardens, a small zoo, beaches and a lighthouse. This sprawling parkland at the eastern tip of the bay is popular with picnickers and provides breathtaking views of nearby beaches across the crashing sea. Kids will enjoy visiting resident seals and penguins, replica Spanish galleons, and can ride on a little train that goes around the headland for an affordable price.
Very nice, green and peaceful place! Perfect for a walk! Beautiful places to visit and eat! Surrounded by water with amazing views, and that sound of waves crashing on the rocks, ahh... miss this place!
Elisei P. — Google review
Inside the palace is exquisite and at 3 euros for a guided tour well worth it but the grounds and seascapes are stunning. You can see and hear the power of the waves crashing into the cliffs. A short bus journey (1.30 euros each way) will take you there and entry to the grounds is free.
Lynne F — Google review
What a beautiful place to visit even as a tourist. We were travelling with an aged mom and were delighted to hear that she didn't have to walk up the hill to the palace as there's a train (bus) one can hop on that takes a slow trip up the hill. Cost was 5€.
The grounds are immaculate and there's benches placed throughout the peninsula where you can sit and enjoy the view. It's a lovely area to stroll around.
Lee-Anne Curtis-Cox — Google review
The grounds surrounding the Palace are absolutely stunning, with beautiful cliff edges where you can feel the full force of the atlantic wind. The park is really well maintained and is a lovely place to just sit and chill. The actual peninsula is 5 stars for definite, but the park area lacks toilets and amenities. The mini zoo (with sea lions and penguins) seems cruel and unnecessary. The animals don't have much space and some don't seem very healthy, which put a gloomy cloud over what an otherwise lovely trip to the park.
Megan O — Google review
It's very beautiful place. You can go to castle Magdalena or visit mini zoo. Over there is amazing view. You should to visit this place if you in Santander

The Magdalena Peninsula is a 28 hectare peninsula located near the entrance to the Bay of Santander. The peninsula is a popular recreational destination for both tourists and locals. The historic Palacio de la Magdalena is located on the peninsula, which along with its surrounding gardens, is designated as a cultural heritage site. Also located on the peninsula is a small zoo, three galleons of the Cantabrian mariner Vital Alsar Ramírez and a lighthouse.

Primera Playa del Sardinero is a beautiful and popular public beach in Santander with plenty of amenities, including snack bars and loungers for rental. The beach offers strong breezes that create surf breaks at all stages of the tide, making it a great place to enjoy the sun during the summer months. In autumn and winter, the waves are smaller but still fun to surf.
A beautiful location, we parked our motorhome here for two nights, lovely and peaceful with fantastic views and sunsets, walked along the boardwalk into town and had a coffee and some lunch, people were very friendly.

A beautiful beach in the centre of Santander. Big sandy beach with loads space and surf school and space to swim and relax in the sunshine. Lots of bars and cafes and this is a great place to eat drink and watch the world go by. Lifeguard Station with safe area for kids and families. It gets busy in the summer and there is often lots of people swimming and sunbathing

Único, hermoso y misterioso.
I didn't plan on visiting this place but I saw the guardian angel as I was walking through Comillas and of course I was curious to have a look.
It's definitely worth it- very interesting and a stunning place, lots of history too. The angel was made by Josep Llimona, a Catalan Sculptor in 1895.

I'll never travel to Salamanca without this trip planner again
El Capricho de Gaudí is an early masterpiece by the renowned architect Antoni Gaudí, built in 1883 as a summer chalet. This Persian-style minaret stands out for its personalized design, featuring sunflower tiles and unique details that reflect the owner's interests. Situated on a hill in Comillas, this English-style mansion offers guided and self-guided tours to explore Gaudí's decorative work for lawyer Antonio Lopez.
May 2023
I found this place very interesting and definitely worth a visit.
I had a guided tour with a private tour guide, and we learned a lot by being with her.
Whether you think that Gaudi was gaudy, that perhaps is true. He definitely was unique. He spared no expense on what he built, and he thought of every detail imaginable.

Fascinating house, it would be lovely to learn more about the first owner though. Below the house there are some japanese paintings that are really out of place in this magnificent house, I reckon is because the new owners are japanese. Also the access to the tower should be opened.
Suzana xyz — Google review
Fascinating place . I really appreciate what I see.
What i dislike are the guides who speak Spanish and yell horribly to the ears of other people who want to appreciate in silence. Plus, they are rude, get you out of their way, close windows for their presentation and just tell you to come back later. And funny enough everyone in the crowd finds this behaviour normal: because you are the only person against a crowd.
This makes the visit not pleasant at all.
For the staff and organisers: just a little hint. When you have a so precious place with so little small rooms and stairs, don’t use guides with a crowd of 20 or 30, make smaller crowd with guides who speaks normally AND in different languages and train them to be respectful of other visitors and respectful of the place.
Consequently I do NOT recommend the place when guides are around and many people visiting. No go for me.
Toilets are smelly and not well maintained. There is no parking for cars: the town is faulty here. Extra difficult to park; no help provided.
Jerome G — Google review
perhaps best scene on the outside from the garden area of the sobrellano palace located next door yet accessed from the next block over to the south behind the main entrence, which will actually lead you to the front of the gaudi whim home. unfortunately most visitors miss this because the gate around the home is so tightly looped that from within the grounds you cannot get a full wide shot of the entire home or appreciate the majesty of its whimsical design; also because while at the palace you are unlikely to notice the pathway that leads behind tall shaded trees that eventually reveals the beautiful gaudi home. alternatively there is also a long residential street behind the main entrance of the home that once you reach the end of it you can climb a few steps and get a clear view of the home as sort of an aerial view with the city behind it taken together this magnificent home may best be appreciated from the surrounding outside since getting in is a chore and overpriced at €7 for a short and impersonal visit.

One of the earliest Gaudi works. It is worth going in and exploring. I took mobile audio guide in English and it was very good. Really enjoyed. NB: Not easy to reach. You should go around from the city. NB do not go from the palace.

Spectacular ⭐️👌🫶
Better to buy tickets in advance via official web - 7€ guided excursion.
The guide was telling interesting facts and stories about the building and the life of Gaudi.
It worth visiting 🎊
Nadia Rozumna — Google review
This house of Gaudi is fascinating in design, architecture exquisite detail in every room and every facet of the buildings.
Christopher Leonard — Google review
2 things that could be improved: the guide yells! If you are not with the group, it’s really annoying. He can speak 10x lower and people will still be able to hear him well. The video we watch in the beginning is in a room with uncomfortable benches and mal placed, if someone sits in front of you, you won’t be able to see the screen, most of the people prefer to be standing to not disturb others. The video is 12min long and it’s auto played, try to watch from the beginning (I watched the middle to the end and kept watching to see the beginning that I had missed 😅)
Dogs are welcome in the garden.
There was no line on Sunday afternoon.
Bring earphones and your cellphone, there are QR codes and you can listen to the audio guide (several languages available).
Save at least one hour for the visit, there so many details and you’re gonna love it!
Marmita Na estrada — Google review
I recommend buying tickets minimum 1 day IN ADVANCE, if you're on a schedule.
There are guided (take 45 minutes) and self guided entrances (both cost 7eur) to the house decorated by Gauide, for the lawyer of Antonio Lopez.
Andrea, our English speaking guide was awesome!
Parking can be difficult as the attraction is on the city center, but almost all parkingspots are for free along the road.
Note: Although the Sobrellano palace and temple (built by Gaudi's teacher for AntonioL.) are next door, they are separated by a fence. You can not pass easily between them, only by doing a whole 10-minute walking loop.

Stunning! I'd seen pictures but they don't do it justice. There is so much to take in, you don't know where to look first. We followed the recommended route and listened to the commentary on the website. It was very informative. Thankfully it wasn't very busy so we were able to appreciate every aspect at our leisure.
Diane Mc — Google review
Stunning inside and out down to the finest detail. Signature work of Gaudi. From floor to decorative ceilings and building façade.
Staff at ticket desk were helpful. Average visit time is 45mins. But if you really want to appreciate Gaudi's work and the gardens, allow 75mins, imho.

Stunning example of Gaudi's work. Excellent audio guide (best if you take earphones) and relatively cheap (€5 for senior citizen). Thoroughly recommended.

Tip number one: go before 10AM.
I went twice and both times it was lovely and semi quiet when went in and became really busy as we left around 10:30 - 11:00.
I really enjoyed seeing the architecture and personally really enjoyed Gaudi's amazing eye for detail and nature. I love how timeless his work is. The staff speaks multiple languages and in every room is information why the room is built and designed the way it is.
For 7 euros definitely worth a visit.
Rick van der Deure — Google review
We bought tickets in advance which you should definitely do! You can skip the long queue. We had a guided tour with Andrea, recommended. First of all, she was absolutely amazing and we got an excellent tour. Insightful and interesting. Secondly, you get some insider info with a guide and it doesn’t get boring.
I want to come again
Sobrellano Palace, also known as Marques de Comillas Palace, is a stunning Neo-Gothic mansion in Comillas. Built between 1882 and 1888, it features a gilded throne room, intricate murals, and beautiful stained glass windows. The palace was commissioned by the Marquis of Comillas but completed by his son Claudio. Adjacent to Gaudi's Capricho, the palace offers guided tours every 45 minutes for a fee.
Nice architecture, a nice castle to visit, a lot of nature around.
Marius Eana — Google review
It’s a great big pile of stone arranges as a pretty gothic monument. The guided tour is in Spanish and tedius. However, it’s worth the effort to see the inside and some of the heavy furnishings. The views of the gaudi are good from the upstairs.
Derek Wailes — Google review
Wonderful, I do recommend a visit. You get to see the ground and the first floor, beautiful luxurious interiors, the story of the owner was quite interesting as well. Unfortunately there are only guided tours and only in Spanish. We were quite lucky that our guide was so expressive that we understood a part, despite not speaking Spanish. Entrance 5 euros, no waiting.
Maria A. — Google review
Only by appointment and with a guide. The tour is only in spanish and there is no english information available. The guide takes 10 minutes to explain the family history in the first room, stuff you could read up. The house is interesting, but the guided tour is boring if you don't speak the language.
Pomme Roy — Google review
Very beautiful and nice park
Jo Braeckman — Google review
The garden area is for free (you can observe from outside the palace and the church). The entrance in the palace/building can only be done with guided groups, which start every 45mins and cost 5eur/person.
Waiting time for the next tour was too long on a summer weekend noon, therefore we skipped the entrance.
Note: Although the El Capricho de Gaudi is next to the temple+palace, they are separated by a fence. You can not pass easily between them, only by doing a whole 10-minute walking loop.
CJ — Google review
Really beautiful place and fantastic guide although you should book in advance for a tour in English. One big minus - is it really necessary to cut so much grass around? Shouldn’t there be space for insects to thrive? Isn’t it what Gaudi stood for - the nature?
Nadezda Avanessova — Google review
Definitely worth taking the tour, it lasted 45 minutes (in Spanish mind you, not sure if they do them in English as well) and gave lots of interesting information about the history of the palace, the Lopez family and how they got (bought) their dukedom. The palace is in amazing condition thanks to its sale to the Cantabrian government in the 80s.
Geoffrey Berg — Google review
vaguely located on the route of the camino de santiago perhaps more permanently located right next-door to the famous gaudi whim house which is otherwise hidden but accessible for free from the palaces gardens immediately to the left down the shaded hidden pathway as you're facing the palace this is perhaps the best view of the gaudi home. the palacio perhaps better seen from the outside (echo to other comments) as entry to the garden area is free and inside visible through the windows, since tour reservations are necessary and only offered in español
dusty — Google review
It's beautiful palace with a lot of history. We were with a guide that told everything very straight to the point and funny too. The only bad thing was the fact that the visits are only available in Castilian and you can't visit the palace without a guide. It also wasn't explicit in the entrance that the tickets for the palace and the chapel were distinct. We bought tickets for the palace thinking it was for both things (because they have the same price table so to visit both you pay the same but twice) and we got to the chapel and they told us we couldn't enter and had to buy a different set of tickets.
We ended up not visiting the chapel, it wasn't worth it, but the palace visit was very enjoyable.

If you like astronomy and are in Palencia this small museum deserves a visit. It holds a few historical astronomical and scientific instruments, a meteorite, samples of actual satellite instrumentation, but the main feature is a meridian line. Visit this museum at solar noon in a sunny day and wait for the magic!

The entrance porch is from the Roman period (12th Century). There's a sundial to side elevation. Nice interactive video about local tourism & displays/exhibits about the stars/planetary movement/astronomy. The staff at Tourist Office are really helpful. The Guided Tour which is normally 3€ per person is recommended.

Cement 69-foot statue of Jesus Christ by Victorio Macho in 1931 standing over a chapel & museum.
It was totally worth going up to see el Cristo. Awesome vibes and views. Museum wasn’t open but it was still worth going.

It is said that the statue of Christ is the second largest . But the sculpting was not pleasing. A new museum has been set up on the history. It is located on a hallock. Nice physical work out. Can reach via private vehicle and then take a walk. A good view to the neighboring settlements

The world's third largest Jesus will not disappoint! See the Lord on top of a hill on the outskirts of a minor town. The Big Jesus was impressive in its artistic style, seen in the impressive architecture. There is a museum at the feet of Jesus to explain the design of the Third Largest Jesus in the world (behind the one in Rio Di Janeiro and another massive Jesus) with information in Spanish (not surprising seeing as it is in Spain). The view was also amazing. The only disturbing thing about this particularly large son of the Lord was that He had no eyes in his eye sockets. This was so people could look out of them, but from a distance he doesn't look how Jesus has been traditionally depicted (i.e. with eyes). This humongous third of the Holy Trinity was overall very good.

A really unexpected surprise in Palencia. The province being the realm of the Romanesque, I expected its cathedral to be this style, too. Instead, we came across a fantastic Gothic temple which, unfortunately, we could not visit because it was being restored. We at least enjoyed the awesome exterior.
Steven Medina Uría — Google review
The San Antolín cathedral is spectacular. It was built over 700 years ago and is a pleasure to view. There are also quaint bars/cafes right in front of the cathedral to have a beverage and enjoy the beautiful view.

A must see if you are in Palencia. Spectacular from the outside, and even more impressive inside. Built on a Visigothic place of worship (which can still be seen in the crypt below), it stands as a visual representation of the development in Gothic architecture over time. Highly recommended to visit with a guide.
Peter Cooper — Google review
An amazing cathedral, it is incredible what man can do when he wishes to praise God.
Christopher McCartney — Google review
You have to pay to visit a place of worship that your ancestors built and it's currently maintained by taxpayers money. Given that church property taxes are not payed, taxpayers are asked to donate money in their tax declarations, and grants from Europe (FEDER) and Spain (MINECO) are obtained, it would be a sign of gratitude to eliminate or reduce the entrance for Spanish and European nationals. Not to talk about the attitude of 'pay and shut up' by an institution not very open to criticism.

Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro is a must-visit in the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. The winery offers informative and fun tours showcasing its beauty, along with impressive wine production and tasting sessions. Visitors can also explore the wine yards and hunting grounds for wild boars, deers, and mouflons. The hotel on-site provides hospitable service, great food, and a wonderful experience overall.
We took the whole package, visiting the wine yards, hunting grounds for wild boars, deers and mouflons (guided tour, however you go with your own car). The wine production and final tasting was impressive as this place is highly industrial. Spa, evening party, all very well done. However, nothing is perfect and the waitress at the lobby bar was not the most friendly.
Jürgen Schwietering — Google review
We did with a group of friends the experience "Puesta del Sol" tasting, and I have to say that we are completely disappointed and feel cheated. We paid a total of 207 euros for 3 tastings - the "Puesta del Sol" which " should include"music, a blind tasting, and a food pairing. However, we only got to try two simple red wines, a white wine, and a sparkling wine, without any music or the promised sunset view, as the event ended early and they left us there. I couldn't even complain in person because they left us there, unattended.
What we experienced was far from the advertised "more than a basic tasting" experience. You are misleading customers by claiming to offer music, a sunset view, and food pairing. The only interesting part was the first of the three small tapas served, and the empanada at the bar was better. No to mentioned the wine we tasted cost only few euros per glass at their same bar

The hotel employees were hospitable, caring, attentive and very approachable. The Winery Tour very informative and fun, showing the Winery's beauty. The restaurant food great along with service. And for the best part Arzuaga wine is amongst the best, which is the Main reason for visiting. Great Wine and wonderful experience.

Unfortunately my experience with this place was very bad. I booked my visit 2 days before, they blocked 69 eur in my card and when I arrived from Paris to this degustation the unpolite representatives told me that my visit was not confirmed and money were blocked just if I refuse in the last moment, to secure themselves! They send me the email that I have to wait for the confirmation! How long? Till the moment than the degustation begins? Can you feel nonsense? And the funny thing that after one hour when the degustation started they sent me one email that my visit is not confirmed!
So if you travel far and plan your visit to this place be ready that they will keep you unsure till the moment of the visit, if it is confirmed or not. Definitely I do not recommend this place, choose something else beside, are a lot of wonderful places to visit!

Dinner in Ribera del Duero is surreal for sure. Very Spanish and authentic. No bull, real pros
Make sure you call before. I’d you want lechazo give them a heads up at least 3 hours in advance. Must try the croquetas
Are you thinking this through?
You can try most the wines. Bar and lounge area inside. For the restaurant ask to be seated outside and take it all in.
I tried several wines. Look me up in Vivino to see how I scored them.

Must go to place when visiting the Ribera del Duero region. The experience was fenomenal, and the wine was delightful.
Pablo Santos — Google review
One of the most surreal experiences of my life. We stopped on the way to Peñafiel to eat something and the girl who served us (very kindly by the way) asked us if we wanted to take some snacks (bar) or eat (restaurant), before deciding she invited us to see the menu. We decided (in two minutes) for the Reserve Menu (as much as I remember € 75 plus VAT), then she told us ´´Wait a moment, I'm going to ask to the kitchen, ´´ she came back and said, ´´I am very sorry but they tell me in the kitchen that it's late
We told her that there was no problem and that if we could go to the Gastro Bar to try some of their wines. She told us of course, but before entering, she again told us that she had to ask again ... came back after 5 minutes very embarrassed telling us that she was sorry but that neither, that the sommeliers were busy,
Well, thanks for everything and good afternoon.

Abadia Retuerta LeDomaine is a truly remarkable and exquisite establishment. Situated in a breathtaking 12th century monastery that has been artfully restored. The "unique" experiences offered on the website is a tremendous delusion. It should be clearly said that is only for guests as the staff is not prepare to give details and book it when costumers fill all requiring forms online. It seems like they couldn't care less. First, I asked to do the Harvest and they simply answer that we must be in a group of 4 people, which I thought could be easily organised by them, however they can't. Then, I decided for the Spa Sommelier and again a negative answer saying that the hotel was full and there was no chance to receive others. It is the worst service ever from a renowned hotel. The intentions I had to visit for a eventually future accommodation now has completed disappeared.

The art museum Colegio de San Gregorio - Museo Nacional de Escultura (colección histórica), located in a former church, showcases both medieval and modern sculptures along with Spanish oil paintings. The museum's remarkable sculpted facade, crafted by master sculptor Gil de Siloe, features intricate details such as coats of arms, crowned lions, sculpted twigs, naked children playing in a pomegranate tree, and long-haired men holding maces.
Installed in the San Gregorio College, founded by Friar Alonso de Burgos , confessor of Queen Isabel, and which in itself is an outstanding work of Isabelian gothic style . Again, building and its contents are rivals for attention. The entrance attributed to Gil de Siloe and Simon de Colonia, is high high point of Spanish art. In the interior, the visitor will delight in the unique and surprising pieces from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries . Works by Berruguete, Felipe Vigarny, Diego de Siloe and Juan de Juni fill to overflowing the halls in this magnificent presentation of Spanish statues.

Great park for a nice walk. Very interesting to look for the different sculptures that are scattered around it. It has an area dedicated to games (basketball, soccer, skates, etc.) which, in my opinion, is too close and without barriers to the walking areas, so there is a risk of walking and receiving a ball. The Columbus monument at the end of the promenade is spectacular, although a bit overdone. Pleasant walk with lively terraces on the other side of the street.

A beautiful park, not even busy in the city center. It's everything you could want in a park I suppose.. You can feed the red squirils by hand, go on a boat ride and feed the ducks too.. Joaquin Cheto — Google review
As a castle it is magnificent. But regrettably we only saw it from the outside. It is used as some kind of educational establishment. One can ONLY visit it at specified times in a group with a Spanish speaking guide. How's that for financial lunacy? At the campsite we were staying at there were French, Dutch, English and German tourists. All potential visitors. And within that group English would be the most widely spoken second language . So the provision of an English speaking tour guide makes economic sense. But we did, for 1.5 Euros each get to walk the walls and from there to view the scenery and the town . The town itself has many churches and various other sites of interest. The churches, as is almost always invariably the case, were closed. He/She may have created the world ...so the myth goes...in 7 days but His/Her edifices are usually only available when the faithful are gathered . The Plaza Major was nothing worth seeing. So unless you are proficient in Spanish you will only be able to admire the castle from outside. And the town itself hardly warrants a visit.
Postscript...the owner informs me I can book an English speaking guide. At some considerable cost I assume. If one is simply passing through the area and decide to visit the castle on the spur of the moment pre- booking doesn't apply. The simple solution is to employ bilingual guides. We found no reference to the availability of an English speaking guide on the website. Nor were we informed of that provision at the castle information office.

(Translated by Google) We arrived in passing on the first day and went in to ask. María Montserrat, who attended to us, was a delight at all times. We spent approximately twenty minutes with her while she explained everything there was to see in Tordesillas. Then José Luis appeared and we were chatting with him in the same way. It is incredible how much they know about the history of the treaty and Doña Juana (not the crazy one) I of Castile. They both tell it with a historical rigor that is appreciated, in addition to putting you in the situation and knowing the background (such as the Treaty of "Alcasobas"). A delight to listen to them. (We met them on a Tuesday, and on Friday we took the guided tour that took place in the gardens where the old Royal Palace was located). A must-visit for anyone interested in getting to know this key Valladolid town in the medieval history of Spain up close. Thank you.

Pl. Palacio Doña Juana, 1, 47100 Tordesillas, Valladolid, Spain
The Theme Park Mudéjar of Castile and Leon is a fascinating attraction featuring model reproductions of historical castles, churches, and monuments. It offers a unique opportunity to explore the architectural wonders of Spain in miniature form. Visitors can wander through some of the larger structures and enjoy watching miniature trains traverse the park. This low-key activity is perfect for families with children, providing an educational experience that is both fun and informative.
Model villages eat your heart out. This gem is well worth a visit.

But I didn't see any jar mude.

I so enjoyed my visit here! I am a sucker for miniatures, and these structures were a lot of fun. A couple of them were large enough to wander through, which was interesting. I enjoyed the miniature trains driving around the park. A visit takes about an hour, and is a pretty low-key activity. There is really nothing else there, but the train set and the tiny castles and monuments, but I am easily amused.

Historic castle with walls dating from the 12th century, a tower & an exhibition & visitor center.
Super cool subterranean area. Great guide explaining everything well (in Spanish). But u should buy your guided tickets in advance or else maybe you only get to wander around the courtyard (at least its free though)

For such a big and impressive castle, the short free visit was a bit disappointing. I'd have liked very much to take a full guided tour, but the person at the ticket counter didn't even offer me any and I only learned about the existence of guided tours later. It's a real pity to see that they've got such a well-conserved medieval castle here but show that little interest in presenting it to visitors.

Well, we slept through our stop on the train and arrived in Medina del Campo, and there wasn't going to be another train for 4 hours. So we spent the day here, visited the castle and walked into town to see the plaza and have lunch. An innovative - for its time - XV century castle. Impressive from the outside, while the interior recreated in the XX century is a bit meh.
Paweł Kranzberg — Google review
While part of the courtyard can be visited for free, the tour of the castle is great with abundant information on the defensive structures of the castle for very little money.
For even less money you can climb to the top of the tower and receive more information about the history of the castle.
However, I am not sure if they offer a tour in English.
There is free parking right in front of the castle as is the information - entering the grounds from the street it's easy to miss if you keep looking at the castle instead of turning to the right. The pavilion with the information also has a small archeological site and restrooms.

The Catedral de Zamora is a historic church originating from the 12th century, featuring a unique blend of architectural styles including Romanesque and Byzantine. Its location at the intersection of Caminos de Plata and Levanter, along the banks of Duero river adds to its charm. Although not as grandiose as other Spanish cathedrals like Toledo or Salamanca, it offers impressive structures such as chapels, altar and dome-like ceilings inside.
This is a beautifully preserved, ancient cathedral that hosts a myriad of fascinating pieces of art in its small interior. Opened in 1174, it is a wonderful example of Romanesque architecture in Spain. Although it includes important changes from the 16th century, you can feel the antiquity of this church as you walk about in its interior.
It is, however, most recognised from its exterior appearance. The cathedral overlooks the Duero river, and its bell tower and dome have become inseparable symbols of the town of Zamora.
Its location, at the end of the historical downtown, invites visitors to walk through the city before arriving to it. We paid no entry fee, it was actually quite warm inside despite a freezing day outside, and there were available leaflets with some handy information.
Definitely, a must-see visit if you pass by Zamora!
Alejandro Nuñez-Jimenez — Google review
Although it is not in the class of the great cathedrals of Spain such as Toledo, Salamanca and Leon it is still well worth a visit. Located along the banks of the Duero and where the Caminos de Plata and Levanter meet, this 12th Century Romanesque construction was completed in an astonishing 27 years. It boasts some particularly attractive structures including its altar, chapels and domelike ceilings (pictures included).

Zamora is a city in Castile and Leon, Spain, it lies on a rocky hill in the northwest, near the frontier with Portugal and crossed by the Douro river, which is some 50 kilometres downstream as it reaches the Portuguese border. With its 24
Characteristic Romanesque style churches of the 12th and 13th centuries it has been called a "museum of Romanesque art". Zamora is the city with the most Romanesque churches in all of Europe.
V Malho — Google review
I hesitated a lot before paying €2 (concession rate) but am really glad I did. Upstairs is a wonderful collection of tapestry, some over 500 years old. Zamora Castle, a grand fortress in the heart of the town, is a remarkable example of Romanesque architecture. The castle features well-preserved structures such as the Tribute Tower, gates, and moat. It has served various purposes throughout history including as a prison and court of justice. The castle offers free entry to visitors and guided tours that delve into its historical significance. Surrounded by Castle Park, it provides stunning views of the Douro River and the city.
