Bodega Malma is a must-visit destination located far from the city, offering a fantastic view and an excellent restaurant. Visitors can enjoy a tour of the winemaking facility by the owner, which is described as perfect. The restaurant serves classic empanadas and paella, providing a spectacular dining experience. It's recommended as a great place to visit for lunch with friends, family, or as a couple.

Museo Paleontológico Municipal Ernesto Bachmann in Neuquen may be small, but it holds some remarkable exhibits. Visitors can marvel at dinosaur nests, replicas of local discoveries, and a fascinating ancient shark jaw that's a popular spot for photos. Despite its size, the museum never fails to impress its visitors with its dramatic displays. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and have an interest in paleontology.
Nice place to visit if you’re in the area.

This is an amazing Dinosaur Museum which is located about one (1) hour outside of Neuquen Capital City and many people have recommended it to me.
They have several rooms with exhibits and replicas on Dinosaurs and there is even a place just a few kilometers away by the Lago Ezequiel Ramos Mexia where you can even see Dinosaur Footprints.
Wow!
I personally want to Thank Joe and Shelley from the Iglesia Bautista Biblica Church in Neuquen Capital City for taking ME there back on Sunday, April 16, 2017.
I personally want to Thank Maria Rosas for the fantastic and detailed tour!
I will Never forget this Experience!

The museum was great! It's the most accessible museum I've ever been to. They had audio guides (via QR codes at each dinosaur) in both Spanish and English. They also had braille signs at each dinosaur (see pic for one of them). We were there at a quiet time, so we had the place to ourselves which was cool. The dinosaur bones are very cool (especially the massive one that spans almost the entire room), and the audio guides are informative.
The entrance fee is very reasonable, although the museum is pretty small. I would highly recommend this as an activity for kids who are going through their dinosaur phase.

(Translated by Google) We were in the 3-room cabin. Very spacious with a very comfortable kitchen. The bedrooms and living room all have views of Lake Aluminé. The location a few meters from the lake is excellent and 150 meters away is the pier where excursions depart and you can rent a kayak. The center is approximately 2 km away, where there are supermarkets and other businesses, but in the area there is a "Drumlin" brewery and a "Maddy" pizzeria, which are highly recommended. The gentleman who attended us was very friendly. Be careful, one hour before arriving you have to let them know so they can give you the key, because in Pehuenia there is no cell phone signal or data.
For the 5 stars it lacks a little maintenance and, for me, it is an important issue that the establishment provides toilet paper. It is not because of the cost, but because of a service issue. The rest excellent.

The employee who cleans saves your potatoes!! There was a power outage due to rain and the hot water ran out! Shower impossible to regulate. I saw the Volcan Batea Mahuida from the Mirador De La Reserva Natural Urbana and it was Very Nice To See because we had a lot of clouds in the sky making the visibility very difficult and so I guess I had luck this time around back on Friday, June 23, 2017.

Volcán Batea Mahuida, Neuquen Argentina
Do You Like Volcanoes?
Then come and visit Volcán Batea Mahuida.
This is a very Beautiful Volcano that can be hard to visit for various reasons such as if there is Bad Weather such as Snow, then it will be very hard to get up to the top, or if there are a lot of Clouds In The Sky then its' visibility will also make it hard to see as well!
During our excursion, we did try to get to the top of the volcano using a 4x4, but we gave up due to the amount of snow that was on the road.
However, we saw it from another place called "Parque De Nieve Batea Mahuida".
I am just so glad that we did Not Give Up On It because I Really Love Volcanoes!
I want to personally Thank Federico Garategui and Cesar Lopez Casanegra for taking ME there back on Sunday, June 25, 2017.

We finished the tour in a small araucaria forest where we had a hot coffee, ate piñon alfajores and closed with a super delicious piñon liqueur. They say that on the entire trail you can see the 4 volcanoes.
On the way out it is a path with a considerable inclination, between 20 to 40° in some sections. I doubt that a child or someone not used to trekking can do it easily, and due to its distance and inclination I think it is a medium-high trail. It took us 2:30 hours to go up, with breaks only to catch our breath and hydrate, and 1 hour to go down.
But the view is totally worth it.
You only need trekking shoes and water, because the path itself is only with leafy dirt, but inclined, that is its only difficulty.

Beautiful park. Will add info on roads as of April 2024 as was hard to find online. Lago conguillo is kind of the mid point between curacautin and melipeuco. We had a 2WD sedan and came from the north (curacautin).
Road was okay with one steep manageable gravel section right after the laguna capture until just before getting to the main parking area at Lago conguillo. Was a fairly steep descent on firm road but had some deep ruts that were challenging to navigate.
Had to debate going back that route vs continuing through the park and looping back around via Temuco. Ultimately decided on the latter and although it was a long drive was probably the right decision as it would have been tough to tackle with 2WD and not worth the risk. Also the drive back to Melipeuco had some wonderful scenery that was worth it.
It had been pretty dry in the lead up to our visit so I don't imagine it could be much better. Could probably have tried going back towards curacautin but would have been risky. Would recommend 4WD unless coming from the south.

Must see national park in Chile. Although there is absolutely no signal or WiFi, it is a must see! We spend 3 days and 2 nights here and it wasn't enough to conquer the park. The hikes are stunning, the lakes are gorgeous and there's kayaking and a few other activities to do too. When I was googling which parks to prioritise during my time in Chile, this one didn't come up. But after talking to Chilean's who've done most of the parks, this is the favourite for everyone and I can see why. Will definitely be visiting again to do the hikes we couldn't do. You can stay on the outskirts and drive in, stay in cabins in the park or camp. As English staying in Santiago, we didn't have camping equipment so opted for a cabin in the park itself. Very pricey, not very clean and surprisingly noisy because the smaller cabins (2/3) people are one cabin split into two. Our neighbours in the other half were VERY loud at all hours and for this reason we would either bite the bullet and buy camping equipment or drive in each day as it ruined the experience and was annoying considering the cost.
Abi Bricey — Google review
It's truly amazing. The Araucana forest nestled among snow-capped peaks was unforgettable.
But do not expect to get near the volcanoes unless you are seriously fit, very well equipped, and part of a similarly-equipped group. With enough time to go slow, because the massive chunks of volcanic slag make seriously hard terrain.

Great park with varied hikes. A good option to beat the crowd is to get there on a Sunday and stay at one of the lodgings/campsites which allows you to visit the park on Monday when it is closed. The Pastos blancos + escoriales loop is quite beautiful (better than sierra nevada in my opinion).

This park is a great opportunity to relax in nature, choosing a walking route according to your own strengths: there is a very easy track 1 km long, there is a more difficult one for 6 km (12 km round-trip) and very difficult for 19 km with a serious climb. In the first two tracks you will find a walk through a stunning forest with araucaria and other giant trees, and in the third - a long walk through lava wastelands and slag cones with amazing views.

(Translated by Google) A very nicely decorated, charming hostel with large, clean rooms and warm duvets, which are essential on some nights :) The bathroom is very spacious, as is the shower with hot water. The lounges are beautifully designed with a large table and a fireplace in a kind of courtyard. Breakfast is very varied every morning, served in addition to fresh rolls (or optionally toast if you get up before the bakery next door opens, for example to visit one of the beautiful nearby national parks as early as possible) and butter, cheese and ham , jam or nut butter, as well as hot water for tea or coffee and cold or hot milk. The lovely couple who run this hostel are very accommodating and friendly, as well as helpful with questions about the surrounding activities, but also about the cute little town in which this hostel is located.
We stayed there for three nights, had a very nice and pleasant time and would love to come back again.

Villarrica Lake, located in the Araucania Region of Chile, is a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy activities such as water skiing, kayaking, and fishing while taking in stunning views of the nearby volcano. Dates: Sunday, Dec. 2017
Cost: $2.000CLP/pp for foreigners
Pros:
- Lots of trails to walk around with plenty of shade and quiet spots to sit and enjoy nature
- Beautiful lookout spots to take pictures of the surrounding city.
- You could definitely take a picnic and enjoy time out in nature here without being seen by others.
Cons:
- It's easy to get lost on a trail such that you have to trek back quite a bit of ways to get back to your car to check your phone often (you do have a signal)
- We thought the restaurant would be open so we did not take any food with us the day we went and for whatever reason it was not open nor were any hours posted.
Overall: We definitely plan to go back here and have a picnic and hike around the area, it's beautiful.

Long historic background we found in this symbolic hill, perfect for a day of trekking or cycling, the native forest is very well preserved, at the summit it counts with a little museum and picnic areas and the best overview of the flourishing city of Temuco. A must to visit.
Anibal Pinto Plaza is a public square adorned with verdant lawns, towering palm trees, and pathways. It also boasts a prominent bronze sculpture. Despite the beauty of the park and its majestic trees, unfortunately, some locals have vandalized the statues and defaced certain areas. This disregard for the city is disheartening to witness. However, visitors can still enjoy the convenience of Wi-Fi connectivity in this pleasant location which provides an ideal setting to meet someone and capture beautiful photographs.

This high-end hotel features contemporary accommodations and luxurious suites, along with a casino offering various entertainment options. Guests can enjoy two pools, regular live performances, and a convenient location. The rooms are superb and the breakfast is delicious and plentiful. The hotel maintains cleanliness well and the staff is helpful and friendly. The only drawback observed was a slight odor in the corridors on the seventh floor, possibly due to aged carpets. Nonetheless, this newer establishment is beautifully decorated and maintained.

(Translated by Google) I give the stars for the historical value. But it does not deserve them.... It is a shame that having the resources (national monuments) it is not maintained or conserved. In resolutions from 2008 and 2009, it is observed that there is no concern to maintain the site. Today, after my visit, I am left with a somewhat sour feeling: it is very easy to get there, but there is poor road signage in relation to its location, it is only announced on the road from San José to Mehuin, and not towards the other direction. road . Furthermore, when you are already on the road to the fort, it is only announced when you are on top of the monument, but nowhere on the route, not even when you start it.
We noticed that there was a gastronomic meeting over the weekend (7 days ago) and there are still platforms, cables and plastic cups next to the Cruces River. Little concern for the organizer of the event (The Municipality of San José de Mariquina itself).

(Translated by Google) Beautiful place, now abandoned! You have to enter through the barbed wire... Go down and up the moat to enter the castle, through a rickety door. Inside the castle, there is nothing left... Two cannons without their gun carriages, brambles and garbage thrown everywhere. What will a container contain??? It has had better days, a shame about the lack of citizen interest in maintaining this place.

Precioso lugar, ahora abandonado!
