(Translated by Google) We visited it with my family, good service at reception, we only did the short self-guided trails (of which there are two), very well marked and easy to navigate. Both the cafeteria and the bathrooms in that part were not open, which complicated their use since they were only available at the entrance to the park, which is 6km from the parking lot. It is a beautiful place and we wanted to take the guided tour to the traces of the past but there was a lot of wind and the guide told us that perhaps small children would not have a good time, so we took his advice. And that speaks well of them that they charge to make that journey.
(Original)

We made a large purchase for the family and we were surprised that when we arrived at bs as and opened a container of double 0 olives with a current date, half of the container of green olives were crushed, pasty, excessively salty. When commenting to Olium x message, they told us that they do not produce them and they were going to tell the external producer so that he could see the issue. They opened a container and they confirmed that they found an olive in the same condition as the ones I told them about and that they had no objection to me returning it and replenishing my money. I think that with this response and knowing that we were from bs as, we feel that they ignored us in order to send us the replacement of the 5 jars of premium olives that we bought from them, even more so where we spent close to 100 thousand pesos on products. Commercially I lower my thumb and even more so when I found out that they washed their hands of this and blamed the producer from whom they buy the olives. This does not happen to me with the olives that I buy both in Catamarca and in La Rioja. Just when they solve the issue, I'll see to improve the score.

They leave you a number to communicate and they answer you with hours of delay. In addition, we had asked for another cabin different from the one they gave us, this one did not have a jacuzzi. The worst thing is that every time the bathroom chain was flushed, water fell on the table where you eat. a disgust They said they would fix it and they didn't. The breakfast is very basic.
If you come in winter it must be tremendous because the house is full of holes so the cold enters.
If it rains, the water on the deck with the grill enters the same and a lot, so that space is disabled.
The truth is that for what goes out at night (the same as a luxury 4-star hotel in Carlos Paz) it is a robbery. They do not offer a service or facilities to match.

It’s worth the hike up from Cumbrecita to get to the Cascades. It’s a medium complexity hike after you get of the main road.
Bruce McQuillen — Google review
It's not the most amazing waterfall but it's very pretty if you can get there early enough to avoid the crowds.
We were lucky enough to leave what was already a fairly crowded area just a few minutes before what I assume was a bus load of people. The viewing area was crowded with 10 people. I cannot imagine what it would have been like with the 50 people we saw heading there as we left.
But the waterfall was lovely, coming into a little pool at the bottom. I assume you could swim there if you didn't mind the cold water.
As for the trail, while it had some steeper parts and was a little tricky at times, it wasn't the death march that many have described. We're not spring chickens but managed it from the trail head in less than 30 minutes with minimal fuss. Getting down to the pool below was very steep however.
Do not confuse this with a different waterfall which is much further away and requires a long hike to get there. Tourist office do not mention that one. This one is on the map they give you.

The hike to the falls was a fun and keeps you on your toes! The falls were pretty from a distance. Wish it would have been a bit easier to get up close.

Museum offering a collection of over 18,000 natural, historical, archaeological & decorative items.
Amazing place. It's like 100 museums in one, they have an extensive collection of 60000 different objects, most of them not pieces of art, but simple objects of any type from 1820 to approximately 2000, and if you're over 30 it will surely trigger many memories of your own past.
There are also geological, biological, anatomic exhibits, it's definitely a very interesting place and it's worth a visit.

This was one of my favourite spots in Nono, this place is plenty of old stuff but even that, it’s still gorgeous and interesting, each step you take is worthwhile, there are descriptions of everything to help you to be aware what is in front of you and understand what was its purpose in those times. This museum isn’t far from the Central Park in Nono, it’s almost 10 minutes in car. I recommend to visit this place for sure. You’ll love it even if you don’t like museums, this is really different than the ordinary museums.

(Translated by Google) Very nice trekking to do.
As of March 31, 2024, we pay 5,800 for the entrance fee for adults (retirees and children 4,300). It is worth the cost because the road is very well marked and maintained, and you are also welcomed and registered when you start and once you get there.
The road is quiet, the sun shines most of the way and there are quite a few climbs but nothing too difficult. It is 7km, approximately 3 hours.
I recommend bringing 2 liters of cold water per person, a snack to eat at the waterfall, a hat and sunscreen! Try to go early to avoid catching the midday sun and, furthermore, the return trip is at 3:30 p.m. at the latest.

Keep in mind that you pay an entrance fee but it does not include a guide or any specific service.

The Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of the Valley is a 19th-century structure adorned with mosaics, stained glass and relics. It houses the revered Virgen del Valle, patron saint of Catamarca. The Camarin, a stunning mezzanine chapel accessed via an ornate staircase and pedestrian lane, showcases tiles and stained glass that recount the story of the Virgin. This iconic cathedral embodies local culture and tradition and is a must-see for tourists seeking religious or aesthetic experiences alike.

It is one of the most emblematic buildings in the history and culture of Argentina. Although throughout its long history it has undergone many modifications, and one could say that little remains of its original construction, this does not take away its historical and symbolic value. It is recommended to visit it with the guided tours and the night show, which offers a historical overview of the independence struggle. This show lasts approximately half an hour and it is necessary to register in a list. Entrance is free.

Interesting place, well explained though in Spanish only. From a historical point of view, the account in the museum is accurate, balanced, and asks a lot of fascinating questions. The Quilmes Ruins archaeological museum is a new and well-done museum displaying artifacts from the ancient Quilmes people. The ruins are truly impressive and the whole scenery is spectacular. It would take roughly an hour to walk around them and the museum itself is worth the visit.
We were not sure whether this was worth the drive from Cafayate - but yes it absolutely is! The museum is new, very well done and informative. The ruins are truly impressive and the whole scenery is spectacular. I would plan around 45min-1h for the museum (incl short video) and 30-45min to walk around the ruins.

Truly amazing archaeological site where you can walk around the ruins of an huge ancient pre-Incan citadel and sacred city that was built by the Quilmes native population about one thousand years before the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors. The city was abandoned in the year 1665 after the Quilmes were defeated by the Spanish (and forcibly marched over 1400 Km away) and re-discovered only in the late 1800s. A small museum at the entrance contains some beautiful artifacts (mostly pottery) and shows a touching movie with the history of the place and the Quilmes population, setting the stage for your visit. You can visit with a guide or on your own. It is a most interesting, unique and moving experience. Highly recommended.

Incredible Native American museum and ruins! The museum is small but first class, very instructive and the showings are well done. On the outside, the ample ruins can be visited on foot and are very impressive, specially as seen from the highest points in the trail. Actually, if you have enough stamina, you can climb the center/left trail and then cross over to the one in the right; just be aware that some of the trail's highest parts aren't in top condition and could be dangerous (it's a *long* fall) so please be careful and exercise common sense at all times.

We went first to the museum watched a 20 min movie about the culture who lived here, traveled here and domestically lived and cultivated land and then were taken out by Spanish.

This was such an amazing little find, we just came across it, and decided to go there because somebody had told us about it. It’s a Ruins of an indigenous old Quilme town, which at its height, they believe had at least 6000 inhabitants. There’s a fantastic interpretive centre there with very knowledgable staff that showed us around and explained the history of the area. This entire valley has had villages of different tribes in it throughout the centuries. This one is from about 800 BC if I remember correctly, the entire Ruins has the most amazing barrel cactuses that I have ever seen outside of Arizona and Baja.

Wow, wow, wow! Honestly the most incredible place. We were here for hours exploring the ruins. Try to make lots of time for this place. Wear sunscreen and try to pick a cooler day.

Fascinating history of the native Quilmes people and the atrocities ventured on them by the Spanish. Very emotionally moving and an important piece of Argentine history.

Great opportunity for a about 2 mile hike up into the hills after you seen the main ruins. The museum was interesting with pottery and burial urns. The film had English subtitles, other exhibits had little English explanations. Most notably Messi winning the World Cup was recorded in the timeline of history!

Highly recommend a visit to Quilmes if in the Cafayate region. Tremendous ruch history about a very brave people who defended their land and freedoms against colonialization for well over 100 years.
Take a guide to best understand the context and history, learn about ongoing archeological excavation work, and the lifestyle of the ancestors of those who lived here once.

Amazing site, a massive pre-incan citadel and sacred city, the biggest and best preserved in Argentina.
The museum attached to it is very informative and sets the scene for visiting the site itself.

Interesting place and to spend a couple of hours and only 3000 ARS entry. The museum has a short film (with English subtilites) and a few other small rooms with information and items to look at. You can walk around the ruins and get some amazing views of the surrounding scenery.

Great place to visit. Our guide, David, was great at telling the stories of his ancestors. The museum is small, but very interesting. Great value.
Impressive views during the hike through the ruins.
