Disappointed... Cumuru is rubbish (the beaches are very dirty, rubble everywhere), chaotic traffic... an absurd exploitation (beer 20 to 25 reais, a beach pie 14.00). Not to mention the road from Prado to there... just potholes. In short... IT'S NOT WORTH IT

Decepcionado... Resumindo... NÃO VALE A PENA

(Translated by Google) I saw a comment that cumuru was rubbish and my perception was exactly the opposite. Full of virgin and deserted beaches to explore. Maybe if you stay on the beach in the center it might be more crowded but nothing compared to other destinations in Bahia. A lost paradise of paradisiacal and wild beaches, nothing hyped, with lots of good people, quality music playing every night (samba circle, forró) still country-like but also very wild for those who don't want to interact. I came back completely amazed by cumuru

Praia do Moreira is an undeveloped beach with no amenities. There is a parking area at the top, and visitors can reach the beach by following a 5-minute trail. (Translated by Google) You thought of paradise. It's there in Caraíva. A coastal and riverside city. Meeting of the sea and the Caraíva River. The sea has almost no waves and warm waters, in the area very close to the river. The river also has nooks and sandbanks to relax without worrying. For those who know how to swim, you can cross the river safely. But there is a curious thing about this river, at low tide the current leads to the sea, but when the tide starts to rise the river is almost without current. As the tide rises, the current reverses and goes from sea to river. It was very funny. We went down and floated up the river. Of course you need to know how to swim as you will be taken to the middle of the river. But to get to paradise you have to struggle. Leaving Trancoso takes around 1 hour or so on a dirt road, full of bumps and potholes. Arriving in Nova Caraíva, you have to stop at the parking lot, 20.00 and take a boat to cross the river, which takes about 10 minutes, paying 5.00 per person on the way there and back. There is no vehicle circulation in the city, and it is all sand. Before arriving at the beach there are little markets where you can stock up on drinks which are very expensive at the stalls. As for food, we chose to stay at a Flamengo tent, with a sun lounger, and we ordered fish which was very good. A day of guaranteed fun in a paradisiacal place.

Você pensou no paraíso.

The walk was long (average 4km), but the structure offered here was worth it. Excellent food, drink and service. A gin and tonic with spices, including bits of cocoa that look like dark chocolate. We ordered a portion of VM shrimp, which looked like giant shrimp compared to what I was used to, accompanied by a delicious spicy pineapple puree. We also ordered a ceviche, which was sensational, very tasty. Of course, I didn't forget to try a dose of Neptune, a typical drink made here in Caraíva. There are tables on the deck and also beds on the sand strip.

Quadrado is the beating heart of Trancoso, a charming 16th-century town with a mystical allure. This pedestrian-only square is a five-acre rectangle adorned with colorful former fishermens cottages, now transformed into stylish inns, shops, and eateries. The whitewashed church of Sao Joao Batista stands at one end while pristine Bahian beaches lie nearby.
The place has a Magic energy...each restaurant has a own personality...and the people are friendly....

What can i say, this place is just magical especially just about sunset when all the little quirky shops and restaurants turns on their fairy lights it's just so very beautiful and feels like you're in a space looking at one of our Galaxy arm, it's really is something you should experience in person, and if you think the photos is nice wait till you see it in person.
Also the beach under this place with its famous little house at the bottom is well worth a visit as well..
Food is very nice and tasty, might not be cheap by local standards but for me with my money at the time of this review is equal to nearly 6 times the Brazilian money it's about a third of what you'll pay for a very decent meal in the UK, the prices for the food in restaurant prices are fixed but anything else you can haggle the price down quite a bit, don't pay the first price they say as they will hike the price up if they detect you're not from the country, just pay what you're comfortable with or politely walk away.
I went there with my family, my wife did the talking as i don't talk Portuguese and as it turned out my father in low is an incredibly good haggler 🤣🤣 it's almost always was the kids that gave us away as they don't stop chattering in english 😡😂🤣
I simply love this place, it's stunning nature and views, and highly recommend a visit right around sunset where the magic happensand it comes alive.

Serene beach lined by palm trees & cliffs, offering panoramic views & nearby kiosks.
The water is more clean comparing to near beaches. Also I enjoyed the waves, they are not big at all but you can see them.
There are places to eat and they have lockers for your belongings which is helpful.
Don't leave your stuff alone on the beach!

One of the best beaches in Arraial. It offers many good options of restaurants and bars, and they let you free to choose, different from other beaches in Brazil where every restaurant yells at you to have a table in it. The water in December is not that warm and the sea, specially during low tide, has a lot of algae. During high tides, the sea has stronger waves, and becomes better for entrainment.

Nice family water/adventure park. Not huge, but has an area for smaller kids and then a lazy river, water slides, zip lines and other activities for older kids and adults. Tons of food options including self serve buffet by weight. You can spend half a day here or a full day easily.
Tisha Homer — Google review
I went to eco park on Wednesday, October 12-2022.
For a tourist attraction that has been around this long should be more organized.
The entry to this park is a joke.
1st - they have two people checking people for contraband items. But they seem to not check people who they personally know. I watched people enter with cookies, chocolate bars , potato chips numerous items.
2nd - the lineup to pay for entry is also a joke. They don’t have enough lines or people working the lines.
3rd - they only accept specific identification for the discount. If your like me who has been here living and have all my utilities included in my rent. They will not give you a discount even though my cell bill has my Arraial D’Ajuda address and my ferry card also.
4th - the so called life guards working the wave pool are also a joke. When the live entertainment is on they forget about the people in the pool. I had to swim over to a young girl to help her as she went to the deep end. I turned around and seen all 5 life guards watching the live entertainment. If that child was mine I would file a lawsuit against the workers and also the park for negligence.
The other staff in the park were helpful and polite . 👍The food concessions were good . But again not enough of them based on days when there are holidays in this region.
The staff who come around and clean up the tables and areas were excellent 👍
I was told by a few staff that it is much better on days when there is no holiday in the region. So I will go one more time and see even though I have to pay R$120.00 to enter .
Unfortunately, based on this experience I would have to only give this park a 2 ⭐️.

Good place for kids, the place is not big, walking around is easy. A lot of food options. It was a Friday during July, the place was not crowded, lines were less then 10 minutes (except zip line with a 45min wait).
Andrea Yen — Google review
The facilities were good, but the money-grab was a deal breaker.
You cannot bring your own food it drinks. You have to purchase food there, but you can't use cash or card--you have to put credit on a card that they provide for a small fee. If you use cash to put credit on that card, you can get back what you don't use, but you won't get anything back if you put credit on their food card using your credit or debit card.
The food they sell is expensive and of poor to medium quality at best.
Kids will probably have a good time, because they're not the ones paying for the experience. Adults, on the other hand, will probably be disappointed in regard to the cost/ benefit ratio.

The Epic Discovery Memorial is a museum that features a life-size reproduction of a Portuguese ship and botanical gardens, along with exhibits on the history of Brazil. The ship replica is impressive, although more historical interpretation and explanation would be beneficial. Although there could be more historical objects showcased, it is nonetheless an interesting concept for a non-governmental group to undertake. Overall, visitors can expect to learn about Brazil's past while enjoying the unique experience of exploring this museum's grounds.
A little gem of a museum that everyone should discover for themselves.
The organisers had the wonderful idea to use children as guides. These give visitors a tour of the museum and a short history of the discovery of Brazil.
The entrance fee is 30 reais, which is worth it. Our guide, Carlos, was very intelligent and made the tour both interesting and funny.
Given the importance of this place in Brazil's history, would be great if there was more investment in this museum.
Sergiu Batrincea — Google review
What? About US$7.50 for a ticket whose museum has few interesting attractions? No, not again. That was the first and last time I'll be there.
The ship is interesting but they could have paid more attention to details.
The native Indian house on the way to the ship is amazing. How come so many indians could have shared a house like that? Well, maybe they used to sleep in hammocks on the top of one another or whatever.
Pay close attention to monkeys. They are interesting and show up whenever smell some food around arriving.
Other than that, the Brazilian State Government should have paid attention to tourists and better preserve what nature has given.

All-inclusive seafront getaway offering 2 restaurants & 2 outdoor pools, plus tennis & a kids' club.

AJAY NAIR — Google review
It has been a great experience so far. The staff is great especially Robert do Carmo, very friendly and funny. The weather is amazing and we've been enjoying the beach and pools everyday.
The food is largely good and with lots of options the thematic nights at the main restaurant plays a key role in diversity.
A few tweaks would get the service level from four to five stars and I'll list below.
1. Each food station should have plates and cutlery.
2. There's nowhere to eat between 6am and 7am, I know who is hungry at that time right, but there are parents with kids up around that time and not having access to food is annoying when you are in an all inclusive experience.
3. On the same line as the previous point, having the kids pool opening at 9am is a recipe for people not respecting the working hours, by 9 many kids have been up for 3 to 4 hours and managing their patience for that long is quite challenging.
Around accommodations everything is a bit worn off in the apartments. The edge of the mirrors are rusty, the corner of the counters are worn, the cortains are old, the room could use a coat of paint. These are details that don't impact the overall experience but makes it unfair to rank it a 5.
The wifi has to be better, if you are going to offer the service it should be of good quality and at this point it simply not.
They have a confirmed bot, "Jorginho" which can't answer simple questions it's another sign that tech needs an update around here.
All in all, I probably would come back here. Perhaps try the villa accommodations as they seem to be newer.

The hotel overall was okay ( I guess it’s good for Brazilian standard) the beer was cold, friendly bartenders! Wine was very inferior quality, I had to constantly buy wine bottles from Coco Dende because I couldn’t even drink their “all inclusive” box wine. I was trying to get a cupcake so I could take pictures of my daughters first birthday, I called them and ordered, went to the front desk and reminded them, on the day that I needed the cake, they informed me that the cupcake was only going to be ready at 7pm! I did mentioned I had a photo shoot at 3pm!!!
Typical miscommunication in brasil!!!
Very kids friendly

Good food and beverage, the beers quality is above the average all inclusive I've been in Brazil. The resort itself is quite pleasant with a chill out area with beach view and an extra pool located next to reception for adults mostly if you dont fancy children screaming and running around you. The main issue I found there was the service. When arriving be prepared to wait in line for a long time as they are really slow to check you in. Also if like me you have a flight later in the afternoon, after check out they will ban you to access any amenities from the hotel and you are stuck at reception until your transport to the airport arrives. They are very happy to take your money and treat you well during your stay but it ends after check out. If they catch you walking around without the bracelet provided during arrival you gonna get told off as if you were trespassing. Every other resort I've been they were happy to let you stay and chill out by the pool while waiting for your transport, you could even have snacks or some coffee as most of it goes to waste every day. A nice place but with a mediocre guest treatment.
Claudio Dal Cin — Google review
A simple, yet wonderful resort. It's located on the coast, with a great view and access to the beach. The rooms are a bit simple, but nothing that would hider the stay. The restaurants (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and snacks) are very good and tasty. It also allows you to drink all day long. In all a extremely positive experience.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately, it is not suitable for swimming, there is a lot of sewage that is dumped on the Sul beach, starting near the Opaba hotel until Praia dos Milionários, about 7 km away, along this route there are exactly 9 drains that dump sewage onto the beach, causing an unbearable bad smell. Unfortunately, it is a shame for the city of Ilhéus, the government officials don't care. Tourists who come to Ilhéus are deceived by travel agencies. You can only take advantage of the hotel's space, otherwise it's better to stay in Itacaré, as the beaches are beautiful and the city is clean.
We stayed in Itacaré from 03/11 to 03/17 2024.
We stayed in Ilhéus from 03/18 to 03/25/2024.
It wasn't a very good experience due to the beach being full of sewage, but the Hotel Praia do Sol helped us have a better stay, as it has a very good leisure area, which was what saved us. As long as it continues like this we won't be back, here's a tip for you who are tourists like us.

It a cocoa plantation,, you learn about chocolate and then taste different % of chocolate.
Great part of Brazil trip
Jeff Erdman — Google review
This farm was so cool! Worth a visit!! But the lecture on cocoa was a bit much at the end. We had a translator, but even still, it was really hard. The guy would not take breaks for her to translate. And he did not read the room. The Portuguese speakers also looked a bit despondent during this sermon on cocoa 🤣.
The best part was walking through the farm and seeing the inside of the pods and how they are roasted and fermented.
