(Translated by Google) Very nice place. Like all the historical places that I visited in Uruguay until now, it needs to be developed a little more, tell a little more history, add some more attraction. For example, the Puma fountain has a button to press to dispense water, but it doesn't work. You could charge a minimum entrance fee and have that fountain work and explain that this water is the purest just coming down from the waterfall and that it can be drunk, for example. Let there be an interactive museum showing the packaging process. Something that explains why Patricia's plant is at the entrance, in short, so many things that could be done to improve. It is still worth stopping to know.
(Original)

The Mercado Agricola de Montevideo is a 100-year-old market in the city of Montevideo that offers fresh produce, groceries, specialty shops, and a food court. The market was renovated in 2013 and is a popular tourist destination with beautiful wrought iron structure. It is also home to restaurants and street performers on weekends.
A nice little mall with shops that sell high-quality foods and products.
Kirk Bratvold — Google review
Loved this market...what a treat! There's fresh produce and other food products as well as gifts and loads of eateries. We had some of the best freshly made empanadas we've ever eaten. Most highly recommend!

REALLY NICE GEM in the middle of town. It was a nice, clean, modern facility that housed fresh produce farmers markets, pet food stores, pet supply stores, specialty as well as commercial apparel stores, pharmacies, as well as a full-fledged food court with a wide array of culinary choices!!! Our tour guide said we had 30 minutes to explore; My wife said "I can spend all day in here!"
John Magno — Google review
Big surprise!
I went here expecting it to be a rural-type farmers market, but no, without being huge in size, you'll find a decent food offer, including excellent local meat, fine food stores, and more. Free parking and clean toilets.
Lino Pacheco — Google review
Amazing place. Lot of eateries. Some amazing shops like El Palacio Del Cafe, Fini. A good place to relax after shopping at Arenal Grande.

A really nice market and place to go try new food, buy your groceries for the day, fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry and so much more.
There are mini-markets, a pharmacy, two nice coffee shops, various fast food places, pizza places and a whole bunch of other choices for your lunch or dinner.
Is also a nice place to visit for a while, it’s big and spacious. It has a place for kids, however it’s not the best place to bring kids specifically, it’s more of a family plan.
The only downside is that it is a noisy place when it’s crowded, acoustics don’t help the space when there too many people talking together.
Emilia Guidobono — Google review
Great and fresh vegetables. They have better prices than some streets vegetables spots ! You also can eat, get cellphone plans or do your mercado. This a place where you can find everything in a safe place.
Marco Antonio — Google review
To me, it's an ok market but nothing mind-blowing. I expected it to be bigger and with more variety of products/stands. Warning: I was traveling solo and decided to walk from my hotel (30 min according to Google Maps). However, the suggested route turned out to be pretty sketchy. As a tourist, I would not recommend going by foot.
Deborah Vasconcellos — Google review

Typical welcoming market. A touristic place, certainly, but, nonetheless, a cozy place. There one can shop for gifts, wines, sweets (like the Alfajor and Bocadito) and the Uruguay must-have Dulche de Leche. Great place to have a meal as well.
Andre Meireles Borba — Google review
Worth visiting if you are planning to buy some fresh produce, have a coffee or grab a byte of the several eating spots found here. Nice building, well maintained.

This is a bustling market with as many restaurants as there are.food stalls, plus a number of souvenir shops. We shared a great steak, more for having tasted Uruguayan beef than because we were hungry, hmm delicious. We were treared to a mini carnaval show.(tablado) by three street dancers. Nice

The atmosphere is friendly and vibrant, making this place ideal for a day of shopping and gastronomic delight.

Very cool local market hall in Montevideo. Visited in the mid morning as things were just starting to open up. It's a mix of nice cafes, hip restaurants, fruit and vegetable sellers, and touristy shops with handmade goods. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the city as a visitor. I think coming a bit later in the afternoon would be a more lively experience but if you don't like crowds the morning is good too. Had an excellent cappuccino and lots of fun exploring the different shops.

Pizzorno winery is a family-owned and operated estate winery located in the rolling hills of Rutherford, New Jersey. The winery produces premium quality still wines and sparkling wines, as well as vinegars and olive oil. The wine tasting experience is unique due to the fact that the wines are matched with complementary finger food. This allows guests to experience different flavors and textures throughout their wine tasting.
Before we arrived, they exceeded our expectations with their exceptional communication skills, providing us with all the necessary information about the winery options. They arranged for us to have lunch and a private tour, making our experience truly unforgettable from start to finish.

One of the least enjoyable bodegas in Uruguay. Definitely put this one at the bottom of your list. Extremely commercial with below average space for wine tastings. I really wish that I didn’t pre-pay for this visit or I would have left immediately.
Plaza Independencia, located in the center of Montevideo, is a well-known and carefully maintained public square that features an impressive monument dedicated to General José Gervasio Artigas, who is considered the founding father of Uruguay. Serving as a link between Cuidad Vieja and Centro, this historic square holds great significance for locals and tourists alike. While it was once surrounded by protective walls, only remnants of these structures remain today.
The Teatro Solis is Montevideo's premier performance space, and it regularly schedules tours that allow the public to see the actual performance space without attending a show. It has excellent acoustics, and is frequently used for plays, operas, and concerts.
Beautiful and relatively cheap theatre. Hosts are truly amazing and will always got the extra mile to bake you feel welcome.

Solís Theatre (Spanish: Teatro Solís) is Uruguay's most important and renowned theater. It opened in 1856. The building was designed by the Italian architect Carlo Zucchi. It is located in Montevideo's Old Town, right next to the Plaza Independencia. The theatre was named after the explorer Juan Díaz de Solís,who was the first European explorer to land in modern day Uruguay.
In 1998, the government of Montevideo started a major reconstruction of the theatre, which included two columns designed by Philippe Starck. The reconstruction was completed in 2004 with the re-opening taking place in August of that year. Acoustic studies of the rehabilitation project was entrusted to Jerome Falala of the French studio Avel Acoustique.
Tomás Giribaldi's La Parisina, considered the first Uruguayan national opera, was premiered at the Solís on 14 September 1878.
Rojen Bajeryan — Google review

Gorgeous theatre. I took the guided tour, which was offered in multiple languages. It starts at 4pm but I suggest arriving at 3:15-3:30 as there’s usually a line to get tickets. It cost $150 for foreigners and they took cash. Tour was about 40 minutes and a great way to learn the history of the theatre and see its interior
Alex Mulligan — Google review
It’s a oldest theater in South America.
They have guide tour by Spanish, Portuguese, and English. As of May, 2023, it starts from 16:00, and duration is around 1 hour. You can buy the ticket without booking. In our case, only 5 people joined English tour. But the guide explained theater history and characters with fluent English. If you go Montevideo, Solis theater is one of the best option.

ESTABLECIMIENTO JUANICÓ BODEGA offers a delightful experience for wine enthusiasts. The vineyard provides a brief but enjoyable tour, with an opportunity to indulge in fabulous wine tasting and lunch. Visitors can savor generous portions during the tasting, set against a picturesque rustic backdrop. While it's quite a drive from Montevideo, the antique charm of the place adds to its allure.
The vineyard was just a vineyard and the tour was brief, but the wine tasting and lunch were fabulous! Generous tasting portions (and more if you wanted it), plentiful food and a gorgeous rustic setting. A surprising excellent cabernet. Ruta 5 Km 38,200, 90400 Juanicó, Departamento de Canelones, Uruguay
The Colony of Sacramento, situated on the Rio de la Plata opposite Argentina, is a significant relic of a time when Portuguese Brazil sought dominance over Spanish territories. Originally established as Nova Colonia do Sacramento in 1660, it served as a military outpost and controlled the river mouth within sight of Buenos Aires. This strategic location also safeguarded Brazil's southern border.
Beautiful old town of Colonia del Sacramento is definitely a place worth of seeing. I visited it in the spring, so there were blossoming plants all around. It is also a quite touristic place, with many small shops everywhere. Old fortified part is not too large and can be explored thoroughly in a day. Shops accept Uruguay pesos and as well US dollars, many of them also euros, Argentinian pesos etc. Paying with card is usually available.

We had an awesome time at the hacienda “La Colina” in the wheat fields, we could see the ships going up to the Río de la Plata river from the back porch. Words cannot explain the peace and beauty of nature in that part of the world, also unique flora and fauna. About twenty minutes from the hacienda we visited one of the oldest cities in Uruguay, Colonia del Sacramento. The historic town of Colonia is Patrimonio de la Humanidad, UNESCO. Old faroles, low houses, adoquine streets, singular beauty. The vegetation is full of eucalyptus, sauce llorón, ombu, pines. The story tells of the indigenous people who lived in that area were the Chana/Timbu and also that they were almost exterminated or enslaved by the Europeans. You can notice the Portuguese and Spanish influence in this town. Beautiful handmade crafts for sale, paintings, leather carvings, exquisite jewelry, lots of amethysts. Colonia is surrounded by artisan farms where you can find fresh and delicious products such as dulce de leche, the famous Colonia cheese, as well as several vineyards. Awesome sunsets! Great food! Definitely a unique place where you can live without running. A diamond in South America. Love it!

The lighthouse in Colonia del Sacramento, dating back to the 1850s, offers a chance to explore its historical significance. With a staircase leading to the top and informative displays, it provides visitors with insights into the city's colonial past. In addition to the lighthouse, tourists can enjoy exploring seven other museums in Colonia. These museums showcase the rich history of Portuguese naval expeditions through exhibits of jewelry, uniforms, and old maps.
Nice old colonial town, there are a lot of bars and restaurants, you can climb the lighthouse, walk the original streets and spend easily half a day waiting perhaps for the ferry to Buenos Aires. The old town is situated just a few blocks away from the ferry and bus terminal.

Beautiful medival architecture, I love it. If someone like this theme I really recomend. What to do here ? walk to the streets, sit in coffe house arround the city and waiting for sunset. Here you can back to past to 1920, because on the streets are a lot of old car which inside have table to keep the coffe. Awesome

I went to visit Colonia for the afternoon so I could renew my 90-day Visa for Argentina. Booking a round trip on Buquebus was very easy to get to Colonia. Yes, Uruguay is more expensive than Buenos Aires! However, you can still pay with Argentine pesos in Colonia and DO NOT NEED to convert your pesos. The price on the check at the restaurant I ate at worked out to be the same no matter how you paid.
Colonia is very old and a great place to walk around for a few hours and learn about the history of this city. There are a lot of places to eat and also to buy souvenirs. It does not take more than a 2 or 3hrs to casually walk around to see the historic parts. They have done a great job at preserving it!

It's a good place to sea the light house from top and it has an amazing view.
They charge 35 uyu pesos ticket for lighthouse .
Nitesh Vishwakarma — Google review
Great all round views from the top of this lighthouse. There are two levels, if you chose to go upto the second top level, make sure you have a good head for heights. It's a narrow tight staircase and little space to move around at the top. Additionally the railing around the top barely reached waist level for me. It would be all to easy to lose your balance if you lent over too far and fall. Keep back from the edge. Great views out to sea and across the old town. You can pay the small entrance fee in either Argentine or Uruguay Pesos.

À beautiful historic town to visit!
Nancy W. — Google review
One of the must go places when you are visiting Colonia Del Sacramento. The light house in itself is very beautiful with a different design, most of the lighthouses are cylindrical in shape but this one is rectangular at the bottom and cylindrical at the top. We have to pay a nominal amount to go inside around 30-50 peso per person and they will allow very few people at a time . You will be allowed to go to the top rectangular part of the lighthouse first and then after sometime they will let you go to the topmost part and the view from there is breathtaking . You can see the whole Colonia from top of the light House .

What a handsome thing. The entrance ticket costs 1 USD, I had with me a 100 banknote and the ticket lady wasn't able to give me change. Pity, wasted opportunity.

Tourist trap verging on outright fraud! The prices here are simply astronomical. This place is a tourist trap. We should have taken heed of the fact that the place was empty and we were the only diners, but it looked like a nice enough spot. The food was passable but unremarkable and lacked seasoning or flavour. When the bill arrived and we calculated the cost it was completely unreflective of the standard of the restaurant. Even for a tourist -trap town, this was intolerable. When we came to pay we were told the card machine had 'run out of paper' despite having confirmed repeatedly when we arrived that they accepted card payment and being the only diners in the establishment! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

HORRIBLE!!! Please do not go here!!! Worst food ever: salad with tons of mayo but no dressing, oily vegetable wok, greasy calamary rings and worst of all DOG HAIR in the food (because there is an actual dog in the kitchen!!!). And the prices were tremendous (paied about $130 for the 4 of us and didn’t even order anything fancy). We complained, but they would not give us any discount under any circumstance. We have never eaten in a worse restaurant ever!!

SCAM! It is beyond tourist trap, is a complete scam. Is by far one of the worst experiences I have ever had! We asked if we could pay with credit card and they said yes and just when we had to leave they said they had a problem, they knew we were in a rush for the ferry to go back to Buenos Aires. Food was really poor quality, it was tasteless, prices were outrageous, as if we weer dining on a Michelin star restaurant but with spiderweb on the chairs and food without flavour, they charged for bread they didn't give us, and so on.
Really terrible place, they charged us service compulsory it was a complete scam.

Save your money, not worth it the outrageous prices for everything. Only redeeming features are the view and they have dogs. Food was below average. Proprietors sat outside and smoked the whole time we were there. Prices are just silly expensive. Rather go somewhere else where you’ll get what you pay for, although it will be difficult because nowhere else charges so much.

It is beautifully arranged, there is a room with information about the bullring, in the middle where it would be the bullfighting ring. There is a huge tent and they say there are bowling alleys. We went on a Sunday morning and that was not enabled or open, perhaps at another time to the west.

Plaza de Toros (bullring)It's nice to see these places to compare times in history and the humankind evolution, since here, it shows that animals are taking into consideration in some way. I had the oportunity to visit "La Plaza de Toros" bullring is the translation, in 1985-86 when anybody had access to the ring, and it was falling into pieces because it was abandoned.
I rent a bike and went along the riverside in 10-15 minutes. Once in the Plaza de Toros they allowed me to enter it and locked it under a stair. A tourist guide told us the history of the place which is gorgeous and enigmatic.

It's easy to see why it is called the Casa Rosada (Pink House) because it is definitely a pink hue. We viewed the Balcony that was used for Evita's speech and also used in the Movie Evita. Of interest was the disgruntlement of the Argentine people at the role of Evita not being cast with an Argentine actress. Beautiful buidling.
Graham Tranter — Google review
Also know as the Pink House, this government building house is the President's workplace. If you see there's a second Argentinian flag pulled up, means he is in the office today! He apparently lives 16 km away in a home, typically transported via helicopter.
Interesting facts here about the Pink House include:
1. It was built in 3 periods, from left-to-right, that's why the measurements aren't all symmetrical
2. The right side of the building has been removed to make way for the scenic view of the river a while back
3. The pink color was in fashion back then if they wanted to stand out from the white buildings. White buildings often have a limestone wash. To make it pink, they would mix that with cow blood from nearby farms. Today that wouldn't fly because the vegans and vegetarians would probably protest 😂 so it's just normal paint today!

It was not possible to see inside whilst we were there, but it must be equally fantastic inside.

The office of the president of Argentina, a national historic monument. Completed in 1898.
You can catch a wonderful photo opportunity during the lowering of the national flag ceremony. At that time the national guards in the traditional uniforms march out of the palace. The flag is being lowered accompanied by the horn played by one of the guardsmen. The others stand guard saluting with their sabers.
Another great opportunity is at night when the palace is beautifully lit and there's nobody around.

The Teatro Colón is an opera house in Buenos Aires that is widely considered to have some of the world's best acoustics. The refurbishment of 2006-2010 added new seating and features, such as a massive chandelier with 700 light bulbs. The theater is significant for its association with the city's cultural life, and frequently hosts classical music, operas, ballets, and tours.
Magnificent architecture and the best acoustics in the continent. Best events are operas and symphonics. The decor is gorgeous and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Must go place, beautiful inside and out.

This is an awesome Opera House and Ballet Theatre, ranked among the finest in the world. The great hall has perfect acoustic. The history of how it was built, taking 16 years and under the leadership of 3 architects, was most intriguing. Marbles of specific colours for various parts of the main entrance, stairs, railings, walls, etc., were imported from different countries in Europe. Beautiful painted ceilings and chandeliers helped to showcase the grandeur of the opera house. It is clearly an iconic landmark of Buenos Aires and worth seeing for any visitor to this city.

I'm getting out of compliments for this place because it's simply fabulous! The architecture is mind-blowing and the acoustic is pretty awesome. They even have kinda like a bar area where you can order wine, whisky, champagne, beverages and they even sell alfajores and sandwiches. You can also book a table.
If you are visiting Buenos Aires then you MUST visit this theatre. Buy your tickets at least one week in advance, the locals are passionate about their culture and the tickets tend to sold out relatively fast, so expect to see this theatre completely full.

However, cost of guided tour for only 1 hour was very high especially for non-locals (2000 pesos more than for local residents). This place was stunningly beautiful; it's absolutely not to be missed. When we booked tickets, the woman said apologetically that the lights may not be on in the main hall - which was indeed the case, but was even better because we were able to see a bit of a dress rehearsal. I wish our stay in Argentina had been long enough to buy tickets to a performance.
A word about the online booking system: when we searched online, it showed no English tours available, but when we stopped by in person, there were still spaces. So if you find yourself in the same position where the website indicates no English tours, go in person to book instead.

The Recoletta Cemetery is a large and very ornate cemetery located in the Recoleta neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is famous for the many prominent graves including that of Eva Perón, several former presidents, and writers Adolfo Bioy Casares, Victoria Ocampo, and Oliverio Girondo. The cemetery is labyrinthine and full of statues and elaborate architecture.
A very impressive cemetery. Our guide told us this holds over 4000 mausoleums. There was a lot of interesting statuary. Of interest, I thought, was that many of the mausoleums had stained glass windows facing inwards, spiritually so that the light of god can shine upon the departed. It would be well worth planning the time to just wander the many many rows of mausoleums. Some of the carvings are exquisite.

Beautiful architecture and many of the most renowned politicians and high society names can be found here, including Evita's grave. So many interesting statues , including a couple who requested to be looking in opposite directions. A lot of history, lots of money. Unfortunately, many of the graves are not properly taken care of. Still worth visiting.

Celebration of Death is a concept which differs from place to place, religion religion and culture to culture. I wasn’t quite sure what we were going to do in this cemetery, but we ended up whiling away a nice hour or so in the evening light, wandering around and peering into tombs, finding beautiful little details here and there. I give it 4/5 stars because some of these poor glass entrances have been broken and one casket was busted - I didn’t look inside 🙄 but someone with a tiny bit of morbid curiosity might actually be able to see a corpse….also, the walkway could use some attention, loose tiles - more of an annoyance for me, but could compromise someone who needs assistance walking. Overall, I enjoyed my visit! Highly recommend!

One of the world's most interesting and beautiful cemeteries, you are easily lost down the numerous paths. Grab and map and prepare to walk around a least an hour before finding Eva Peron's mausoleum. Buy tickets in advance to avoid a wait.
Saundra — Google review
A huge area of mausoleums worth walking around for an hour or so. There are tours in Spanish highlighting interesting stories about some people buried there and you may be able to find other language tours. I just walked around on my own and enjoyed the variety of tombs. The Evita tomb isn't specially marked but if you use Google maps or ask around, you should be able to find it.

Not too crowded and good for a pleasant walk. By far the largest cemetery I’ve been too with the most intriguing and creative mausoleum designs. Many are downright works of art. Museum worthy.

5090 ars in February 2024. You have to pay by card. With the money and the amount of people coming you would expect the place to be well looked after. I didn't like that there are some tombs that are full of garbage and junks. In some (at least two places) you can smell the rotten bodies.
It's an intriguing place to be, especially the older parts that are more interesting. Some famous people are buried here. A lot of tourists.

Well-maintained, gorgeous cemetery filled with incredibly beautiful graves that are more akin to mausoleums. One can wander aimlessly and admire the effort and architecture of each one, but I would recommend joining one of their tours to truly understand the significance of prominent gravesites and people.
James — Google review
Definitely one of the largest and most interesting cemeteries that exist. Wasn't that crowded on a weekday, and was very convenient to buy the tickets after we arrived.
This is one of the most important Buenos Aires landmarks and is the resting place of Eva Peron (Evita). Walk through this literal maze of Argentina’s history, a combination of mausoleums and crypts in which the nation’s nobility and past presidents have been laid to rest. It’s an incredible historical site, and you can enjoy the many fascinating anecdotes about the people who have been buried here.
The most sought after grave is Evita’s. She’s buried with her family so you’ll see her family’s tomb under the name Duarte. It’s on a narrow passageway but once you know where you’re going it’s easy to find, thanks to the crowds and walking tours that typically visit her.

This place was on our bucket list when we visited Buenos Aires and it certainly didn't disappoint. It's quite a wonder getting to see such wonderful craftsmanship in a cemetary, it feels like you're taking a stroll through a medieval village how they have the grave structures. The place is quite peaceful in general despite the large number of tourists that visited over the long weekend. Would certainly recommend a visit to this cemetery when you visit Buenos Aires

This is a history-filled cemetery with elegant tombs and mausoleums. It is meticulously maintained and daily tours available in both Spanish, English, and sometimes other languages.
.
A Who's Who of families of Buenos Aires and other parts of Argentina are buried here. You could spend days earning about the history of some of these people.
It is well worth the time to visit the Cementerio de la Recoleta.

The grounds are well kept. The entrance line can take a while at times, but after that u are free to roam around. Definitely a place you should check out. I believe entry is like $3 or $4 to enter. They also provide tours at different times throughout the day!

Beautiful cemetery. Not much else to say besides, just go. Worth the visit.
Careful when buying, they do not accept cash of any kind, keep a Visa and Mastercard in hand, you might need to ask someone to buy tickets for you.
Maps are free, and just in case get a tour guide, there are just too many stories about many tombs, most are very interesting.

Recoleta is an affluent district that boasts of luxurious former palaces, Parisian-style townhouses and high-end boutiques. One of the main attractions in Recoleta is its extravagant cemetery where national icons like Eva Perón rest. The area also offers a range of cultural activities such as the National Museum of Fine Arts, Recoleta Cultural Center and Plaza Francia's handicrafts market.
The Malba Museum showcases contemporary and ancient Latin American art. It is located in Palermo, a neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Really enjoyed this experience! I believe it was around 750 pesos, they give student discounts with valid ID. They provide a bag check as you can’t take in your backpack and have 2 cafes you can recharge before or after. They had 3 floors and it was nice because it was quick, they didn’t try to extend the stay with empty exhibits where you could have done it in shorter time. We spent about 45 min and it wasn’t crowded at all.

3 star be ause my son likes the exhibits. For me, definitely not worth 1 hour walking over. It's nice to have English caption and staff are very friendly. Tickets only cost $1.5 for two people.
Only showed the collection of one couple's abstract art works. More people are eating at the Cafe than touring the exhibit. Lots of construction and noisy.
The giant wood chair outside is actually very breathtaking!

MALBA
this is a lovely museum that is in a beautiful section of Recoleta and easy to digest in a morning or afternoon. The collection is quite interesting with some excellent works by Argentine and other Latin American artists. There is a nice café on the second floor with a spacious outdoor terrace and a small restaurant downstairs, more like a cafeteria, also with outdoor seating at street level. We had a great visit. This museum is highly recommended.

Rainy day so waited a good while in line to buy a ticket. Museum was busy but didn’t feel crowded. Size and variety of art was nice. Cute gift shop and cafe. Great rainy day activity- then just a few blocks away is a big mall…

Great space and exhibitions. Only had an hour but it was enough to glance at everything. Another hour would be better. There’s three floors. Bottom has gift shop and restaurant, two floors above w exhibitions. One above also has a cafe. I loved the trans photo show that highlighted one photographer from each South American country from the last 70 years. There was another room of contemporary art, social concerns, paintings, video, sculpture. Top room showcasing a classic Argentine artist (name?!) from 1920s cubist. Great medium sized museum. Go!
jennifer chen — Google review
Nice museum although it sounds and looks more promising from the outside than what it really has to offer on the inside. I was a bit disappointed with the audio guide. I'm sure the artists have clearly thought more about the design of their art than what is reproduced on the small signs and the short audio tracks. This makes it one of those museums that you walk through relatively quickly without feeling a real wow effect.
However, the café with a solid selection of cakes, delicious coffee and a great rooftop terrace, as well as the museum store were great.

Have lunch at Nininas and then tour the Malba. There is no better way to spend the afternoon!!! Amazing art beautifully presented. Classics from so many well know South American artists and then new and funky works from artists you need to be hearing about!!

If you are an art enthusiast, I think it's worth a visit. However for me, I do not really understand the modern art that were displayed there, so we did not stay there for long and just looked through the artworks. Entrant fee was quite cheap, ARS3000 per pax, for my family of four, we paid ARS12000. One great thing is that you need to store your bags before entering, which I think is very convenient.

The Japanese restaurant Arte culinario Jardín Japonés offers delicious Japanese cuisine in a tranquil setting among beautiful Japanese gardens. The staff are friendly and fluent in English, ensuring you have a great experience. The sushi and dim sum here are particularly tasty, with plenty of flavour and juiciness. Although the juice can be a little too concentrated at times, it's still an amazing meal overall. I'd highly recommend coming here if you're looking for some truly fabulous Japanese food!
My all time favourite meal. The sushi and dim sum had so much flavour, and the chicken was exceptionally juicy. As soon as the waitress realised we're English speaking, she made sure we have someone fluent in English assists us. Unfortunately the juice I got was warm and very concentrated, but not even this could affect my experience. Wish I could come back!

The service is brilliant, very attentive and friendly. They even have menu’s in English which is quite handy. The food is ok but nothing more than that really. Incredible presentation but the meat was rather tough and chewy for my dish (guydon) The dessert however was great.
Eloise-_- — Google review
Even for Buenos Aires, where the standard of sushi is poor, this is really just a money maker as it’s attached to the jardín. The salmon sashimi was good, it’s Chilean, but the ‘no name’ white fish was not a good sushi fish and they topped it with red onion which overpowered the mouth. The nigiri rice was also wrong, poor flavour and texture. We just took the fish off it and left the rice. The octopus was just weird. Both the texture and flavour were off. The mixed vegetable/langostino tempura came with no langostinos. They did bring us a generous portion of the missing, deep fried langostinos when we brought it the their attention. Regardless, the tempura batter was not panko and it was bland. The tentsuyu (dipping sauce) was flavourless and without bonito flakes. Oh and don’t expect any Japanese beers, which are light and tasty and go well with sushi. There’s Quilmes, the most generic of Argentinian beers, and Patagonia, which is a good Argentinian beer but to strong to have with sushi.
I wish I had something good to say about this place but I can’t find anything. It’s a tourist trap. And it’s expensive. Sad.

I really liked this restaurant. I actually went with low expectations, wondering if it would be more of a gimmick because it’s inside the Japanese garden. But the food was excellent! Everything we had was so good. If you you’re lucky, you can get a table outside!
Nichole Post — Google review
They don’t serve food or sushi after 4:30pm and the staff is rude here at the restaurant portion of the beautiful Japanese gardens. Also not that nice as far as decor. Would have been lovely to get sushi here but with crazy expensive prices, strict hours for sushi and rude waiters I’m glad we saved the money and didn’t get anything to eat.

Located inside the Japanese Garden, a simple food menu is offred with slight Japanese Flavor. Don't expect Japanese.food. It' ll ruin your experience.
For a main course and a drink you'll pay some 20$ per person (January 2020).
Do expect a long wait to be seated and to be served, since waitress are overwhelmed .
Better if you reserve, especially during holidays and weekends.
Is very noisy. Not adequate for romance or business talk.
Luisa Rangel — Google review
The view to the gardens was the only thing that we would remember from this place.
The food was mediocre, not the quality that you will expect from a so called Japanese cuisine, the ramen was just ok, the fried shrimps were burned and oily, the sushi was almost tasteless. Lastly the deserts came prepacked in nylon bags and were very dry.
In conclusion isn't worth eating here, with the same amount of money you could have amazing Japanese food elsewhere especially in Buenos Aires.

I'll never travel to Tigre without this trip planner again
Puerto de Frutos is a spacious and scenic crafts market located on the riverfront of Parana. It was formerly a port facility that now features an array of handicrafts, souvenirs, home goods, wicker baskets, and furniture. Apart from the market stalls, visitors can explore antique shops, naval museum and amusement park in El Tigre where Puerto de Fruitos is located.
Very nice local market by the river.
You can get a ferry to the museum on other side of the river.
Let's of hand crafted arts and home decorating stuff.

The Puerto de Frutos in the Tigre area of Buenos Aires is an amazing destination to explore local culture and art. This market is filled with intriguing shops offering handmade and local products, such as art, food, handcrafted decor items, and much more.
The atmosphere is notably lively and vibrant, with the colorful market attracting both locals and travelers. It's a place to wander, discover unique pieces, and feel the authentic vibe of the region. Whether you're looking for gifts or simply embarking on an adventurous discovery, the Puerto de Frutos provides a distinct experience that mirrors the cultural diversity of the area.

A really fun place to get out of the city and check out on the weekends! You can take the train, an Uber (approximately $10 from the capital), or drive to get there.

Nice place with several options for shopping (home decoration, clothes, etc.). This is one the highlights when visiting Tigre and jt is also very close to the Casino, so visitors can do both attractions in sequence.

I wouldn’t say it’s something special. Too many shops that sell mostly the same. Food places are spread randomly and the area doesn’t seem to be organized. There many places in Buenos Aires where you can buy similar items and there are many markets so I wouldn’t say it’s a perfect place to get away from Buenos Aires. Tigre is but not this regular mall.

We initially wanted to go to the Aquafan park. When we were at the tickets booth, we saw that a ticket for a day would have costed almost 15000$ instead of the 13000$ stated online (9100$ if you buy the ticket online 1h before the park opens). So we decided to buy the tickets online and come back on another day. When we came back, we were told that food cannot be taken inside so we had to spend 1000$ to temporarily store our food at a different booth of the park. After that we could finally enter. Of course we needed to store our street clothes, phones and other stuff somewhere, so another 2500$ had to be spent on the locker. Finally, it was time to test some water slides, at least we thought so. Most of the slides require an inflated ring. However, the rings are not transported to the waterslide by a conveyor belt, no, you have to go to the end of the slide and get it from a customer who is coming out of the slide. Never seen such a poorly designed system. The slides themselves are fun but you have to wait forever for a 30 seconds ride. After about 3 hours (about 4 rides) we decided to go to the coaster park which was almost empty. Since the coaster park is not included in the ticket, each of us had to spend another 7000$ to get the entry ticket. We rode the boomerang coaster which was quite okay, but we had to wait some minutes in the coaster seats because they were waiting for more people to come... Then we wanted to ride the green one, but it was closed. After about 1 1/2h we decided that we had ridden almost everything we wanted (except the closed one) and wanted to take a last round in the boomerang coaster again. My friend felt sick after the ride and asked for a bag but the woman didn't ask what's wrong or tried to find a bag but just said "please go outside if you need to puke"... Those parks were neither worth the time, nor the money. Definitely no recommendation.
Michel V — Google review
The time stood still here. Outdated theme park from the 90’s. You see a lack of maintenance. During our visit often an attraction stopped working. The park clearly needs to be renovated.
Waiting lines were ok, but the variety in attractions is sad. Not a theme park as you would expect.
Restaurant is a throwback to the 80’s.
Considering that the entrance ticket is expensive, you should expect more or at least a good maintenance.
Glenn Kips — Google review
If you are looking some adrenaline you might consider this place. You can find rollercoaster, pendulums, zambas, etc. If you go in the afternoon try to use sunscreen because all the games, if you jave to wait, dont have any type of shade. Inside you can buy food, souvenirs, clothes, etc. but, as you have thought, it's more expensive than in the shops outside.
Bruno Magneschi — Google review
Nice place overall. We went in Covid times, so not all attractions were open.
The Boomerang is still open. Not El Desafío though.
The place was pretty uncrowded luckily. Staff is professional enough.
Food is awful. Awful. Few options and really bad. Try to eat before going and after leaving.
Do not park in the first parking lots you see. They are extremely expensive. If you go on a couple blocks you'll pay a third of that.

The Tigres Grandest Museum is a beautiful former social club now home to an extensive collection of Argentine art from the 19th and 20th centuries. The museum is situated on the riverbank in glorious grounds, and offers guided tours in Spanish at 11am and 5pm on Wednesdays to Fridays, and more frequently on weekends. The price of admission is very low, making it an absolutely recommended destination for anyone interested in art.

Tigre Club stands on the banks of the Luján River and was opened in 1912. It became a meeting place for the rich and famous of the era and sat next to the equally stunning structure of the Tigre Hotel (demolished in 1940). A casino operated in this building for 7 years before a law was passed prohibiting the casino, so the structure was transformed into a restaurant with live shows. In 1979 after much decay, an extensive restoration was started on the building and it now houses the Tigre Museum of Fine Art. Certainly worth a visit when visiting this area, entrance was inexpensive. For us, the building was far more impressive than the artwork it currently holds.

Museo de Arte de Tigre impresses with excess. To experience the type of extravagance that only too much money could buy back at the beginning of the 1900s. Excess on this scale happens so rarely that it'd be a shame to miss the spectacle. The museum exhibitions are amazing as well.

The building itself is beautiful and stands out from the rest of the buildings in Tigre. The curved staircase with huge mirrors and elegant materials is a great spot for photography enthusiasts. However, the selection of art is not convincing. It is nice to see art from artists from Tigre and the old map of the town was very interesting but none of the pictures really take you in. I was counting on staying here for about 1.5h - 2h but ended up finishing after 30 min. . Still worth visiting. 👍

Beautiful, awesome. When I visited, the museum was closed, but I got great pictures at Museo de Bellas Artes at Tigres, Argentina. It looks like a European Castle, built by a French architect. It's a place with culture and history.
I called it the Argentinian Howarts because this place has been used for films.

I love Buenos Aires and this museum right here might be one of my favorite places in the whole world. If you wanna feel your Marie Antoinette fantasy, have writer's block or just want to feel inspired --go visit this place.

Was closed the day I went but the architecture of the building was worth it. You will admire for sure.
Went on a weekday so was empty, and hencevery peaceful.

We didn't get to go inside so that made the experience just lacking. I blame the tour company.
