The Museum and the Merville Battery site is a restored Nazi fortification that now houses a WWII museum with bunkers, a sound & light show, and a C-47 plane. The site also features the Merville Gun Battery, which consisted of four concrete casemates housing 100mm guns threatening British troops at Sword Beach. The museum covers the battery's role in German defenses and the lives of stationed soldiers, as well as the story of Allied soldiers who captured it.
Fascinating place. So we’ll done and pays tribute to the paratroopers who showed so much bravery against terrible odds, but still went in and secured a strategic advantage for the allies.
Carlos Uploads — Google review
One of the best museums in the region. With great eye to details. Plus their bunker with sound and light system is truly amazing to feel the atmosphere of the day of the attack.
Tr DeR — Google review
A very interesting visit to a well preserved and well maintained site. The show at the end was very intense and well done. Kudos to the volunteers who helped restore the site. My only negative comment is that the French and British flags on the circular memorial are in a deplorable state. Please change them!
Chris Chaisson — Google review
Well worth a visit to this well known WW2 battery, they have a Dakota DC9 on display and a new hanger and visitors centre.
You can enter each artillery bunker and watch the stories of the combatants on video, the very last bunker on the tour had a realistic depiction of the attack on the early hours of the 6th June 1944 D-day. 10/10.
Ian Page — Google review
Really impressive memorial museum. You'll get a walking route and there are bunkers where you can watch a informative movie. There is also a lot to see. The last bunker is where you can experience a fight. This gets very loud and contains flashes. There is also a monument and planted trees for passed away veterans. The story behind this place is really impressive and breathtaking and worth to be heard.
Angela Versteeg — Google review
Great place to visit, most of the bunkers have some for of interaction videos. You can walk around the whole site with ease. There are QR code you can scan for additional information if required. All in all a great place to visit.

In October 2018 it was a 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 but in October 2021 it is a 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟.
October 2018. Excellent museum, tranquil and peaceful. Well maintained, very interesting, happy to recommend it. Maybe in a few years with a new visitor centre maybe a cafe might be added.
October 2021. Myself & 4 friends returned in October 2021 in bright sunshine & found a totally transformed museum. There is a new visitor centre with shop but sadly still no cafe. The museum is a little bit out of the village so a cafe would be a great idea, to have been able to sit and to enjoy a pastry accompanied by a tea or coffee overlooking the battery in the bright sunshine would have been so relaxing.
I have added a further 15 or so photo's of our visit this year.
There's alot to see, some great visual displays and now the C47 now has it's own stand and hangar, presumably for those cold, wet winter months. It's certainly improved and I'd say, having seem quite a few museums in Normandy now, that it's well worth a visit. It's also nice to see that one of the British rated museums is seeing investment so that it can be preserved for future generations, and so that the memories of those brave 150 or so men can be remembered for what they did. Thank you.
Tim Griffiths — Google review
It’s a good story, but the museum seems a little tired and in need of a refresh. The Dakota and the monument to the soldiers are great, but the exhibits seem a little worn and unimaginative compared to many of the other brilliant Normandy museums. If short for time, I think you can pass this and visit Pegasus bridge or Caen Memorial
Alex Ainsworth — Google review
Great visit to this informative museum. Great exhibits especially the lat one. No. 11. A must if you in the area.
Melanie Wheatland — Google review
A must visit for the history buff or the casual D-Day tourist. The Merville Battery was a major threat to the landings and had to be captured by the British Airborne. Brilliant artifacts and history of the battery . The wartime history of the Dakota is great reading. Close to Ranville and Benouville (Pegasus Bridge).
Ample parking available and a very informative visitor's centre.
gav perry — Google review
Terrifically informative Museum, large and spacious area. Lots to see and read. Great show at end. Easy to find, plenty of parking. Easily spent 2 hours here.

What a great visit, I would recommend visiting this museum. Staff are great as well.
You do need around 2 hrs to visit.

Truly awesome experience.
What the paratroopers achieved in 30 minutes unbelievable.
Very well laid out museum,we took two hours to walk around.small entrance fee good clean toilets.

Best war museum I ever went to! Very nicely built and very clean. The interactive bunker blew my mind. The plane was amazing at the beginning. Never saw a war plane in such good condition, and you are allowed to enter the plane! There were three very kind men ( I assume the owners of the plane) helping you and answering all your questions with passion

Very good museum, fairly good audioguide. Interesting site, administered by GB and France.

It's well documented.
And it's also the grave of those who have fallen there. Walk respectfully please :-)

Great casino in the seasight front 💙💙💙

Doesn't make any sence, they cater for all languages but don't accept any form of ID other then a passport, including a driving licence. But it's ok, they are happy to let you drink in the bar at £9 a pint. For a place that looks so cheap (from the bar) one expect them to be a bit more encouraging of people willing to spend some money!!!
Jeffrey Mincher — Google review
Its not exactly classy. Its a bit fun though. Really busy on a Saturday night. Especially on the cheaper machines. Went back on the Sunday and won 4 times what I'd put in, so that was nice.
Sam Spinks — Google review
The restaurant of this casino is large, clean and has a good view to the sea. The dishes and prices are acceptable.
Vendeuvre is a stunning chateau with beautiful gardens and unique attractions. The large display of miniatures and the jardin du surprises are particularly noteworthy. Despite limited roadside parking, it's a highly recommended destination for a visit. The chateau features superb furnishings, historical small-scale furniture, and delightful automatons in each room. The gardens are described as fantastic and entertaining for both children and adults, with water jet surprises that add to the charm of the place.
What a hidden gem, the chateau is stunning and my wife especially liked the large display of miniatures. The highlight for me was the gardens. These were fantastic and we spent over an hour walking around enjoying them. The only downside is limited road side parking, but we visited on a Saturday afternoon and there were only half a dozen cars visiting and still some space. Highly recommended.
Andy Saxby — Google review
A very pleasant garden, which we have visited previously. Unfortunately, the gardens have suffered from a lack of both maintenance and rain. The "Surprise Garden" and other water features are entertaining. We hope that after some rain some of the plants will revive.
Linda Pugh — Google review
What a wonderful surprise!
The miniature display at the entrance is the personal collection of Madame.
The Chateau itself is wonderfully over charged with 100s of objects on display, the kitchens down stairs is almost in its original state and the gardens are full of surprises.
2hr minimum for the visit.
Alistair Urie — Google review
The "castle" is indeed a bit run down and very crowded with furniture from multiple rooms simply crowded into fewer rooms. But it's well worth a visit for the gardens alone, which are wonderful and very entertaining for children. The entry for the castle and the gardens is 9 euros but if you want to visit the miniature furniture collection you'll have to pay 12.
Ioana Costea — Google review
Interesting house in the countryside. Water surprise garden is a cool feature - gardens are moderately kept and doesn’t feel too ‘touristy’ which is a nice feeling! The attendants don’t have much English so be prepared when entering!
Robert O'Brien — Google review
Amazing - the strangest chateau I’ve ever been too. The miniature museum was fascinating, the chateau itself was beautiful. The surprise gardens were hilarious.

Absolutely fabulous! The chateau is beautiful and full of superb furnishings and furniture. The automatons in each room are delightful as are the displays of historical small scale furniture in the orangery exhibition hall. The gardens were a complete delight and the water jet surprises were great fun and would appeal to children and adults alike.

Great afternoon, well worth the money. Loved the water gardens, but not as much as my 22 month old grandson, who had a fantastic time dashing INTO all the fountains 😂😂😂. Came home soaked but loved every second, much to tge amusement of the lady on reception.
The miniatures are remarkable, such fantastic workmanship. Would definately recommend a visit
Pamela Barker — Google review
Beautiful chateau, the best aspect of which is the jardin du surprises. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was surprisingly quiet as we had a lovely couple of hours walking around the garden on a sunny April afternoon. The miniatures exhibition in the first building and the exhibition of pet beds in the kitchen area are also worth a visit. A great place to bring the kids!
Smiley Bean — Google review
Great garden and walking around with full of beautiful scenery to visit with friends and family.
The botanical garden has a wide variety of plants and flowers, including hanging gardens, located in a former military fort.
Awesome hike, I walked from the beach until there and the view was worth it, I got to see the whole city. It’s a very peaceful place, took my 1 year old and he enjoyed it also. I recommend visiting definitely!

This place is extremely gorgeous! We loved being here.. perfect for picnics, walks and the likes. The garden houses themselves were closed, so was the cafe, but everything was beautiful.
The garden houses open up this month so will be a little more busy but it's worth at least one visit.

The greenhouses, which can be visited for 2€, are truly exceptional, as are the outdoor gardens, particularly the rose garden! The tea room is lovely.
I highly recommend this visit.

A great place to hike up to from the city centre. When you’re on a cruise make the effort to get a great bit of exercise on this approx 1.2mile walk uphill to gain some lovely views.
Andrew Hannan — Google review
Great place for a walk even if you are not pasionare about flowers. Parking was free and the price for visiting the greenhouse was 2 euros (free for children under 12). The greenhouses were fun to see, and the whole park was beautiful. There is a cafee where you can get something to drink / eat. Defenetly something worth doing in Le Havre.

Incredible military architecture turned into an 'entire world in a garden'. So much to see, greenhouses, avenues, plants from every where. A climb up from le Havre- town but well worth a visit

So beautiful! Peaceful place with flowers from the the world!
Dora Szentpali — Google review
From the cruise ship. Took shuttle to city square (first stop). Then take bus 5 to the gardens (if you take bus 4 it's a long walk up the hill at the last stop).
Gardens is free to enter, and 2 euro to do the green houses. Worth it. Nice place to appreciate nature. You can do the entire garden in under 2 hours.

Lovely and peaceful gardens. Lots of benches to sit on to reflect and relax... probably even better in the spring and summer when the flowers are in bloom.
Don't miss the Labyrinth!

We are delighted with the territory and the sea view. There are goats and sheep on the property.

Good place to stay. in the garden there is a nice oasis where you can drink something delicious among palm trees and greenery. The only negative is that the park closes at 18:30

65 Rue du Fort, 29 Rue Albert Copieux, 76620 Le Havre, France
The towering 110 meter high tower rises from the skyline of Le Havre, encapsulating the modern charm of the city. The church is a UNESCO-listed temple of concrete and stained glass and its impressive Octagonal tower is a marvel to behold.
You have to see it…
From the outside it looks ugly, too tall and nothing like a church. The texture, form and colors are not matching with the idea we all have on our heads.
Once inside, it is a mix of a church an official session hall and a futuristic building. The light enters through the numerous coloured crystals and makes the concrete have another vibe. It is very unique and different
Gerardo Garc?s — Google review
Very unusual church built out of mostly concrete and glass. If it is a sunny day, the stained glass makes a beautiful job of colouring the concrete pillars. Fairly quiet when we visited on a Monday afternoon after lunch. Recommended as there cannot be too many churches that look like this!
Pat'sChris griffin — Google review
A truly stunning building. From the outside it doesn't give away just how beautiful the glass is when you're inside. Well worth the walk a few minutes from the centre to view.
There were also some interesting boards inside on the history of the area and building.
Rhys Davis — Google review
Beautiful serene with easy access for all. If you are in the area worth visiting just to see the spectacular building including interior.
Sharon Williamson — Google review
You must visit this amazing church if you’re around! Fascinating architecture with symmetrical patterns.. lovely colors of the stain glass arts. Contemporary church which you can’t see anywhere else.
10 stars!
Haynes Cheung — Google review
One of a kind. Really wanted to climb the spiral staircase that goes up the cylindrical dome with stained glasses all around that makes it look like an alien space shuttle. However, the gates were closed. I'm not sure if it's allowed to climb those stairs.
Saranga K. Mahanta — Google review
This is probably the most famous thing to see in Le Havre. It is a beautiful church with a very cool tower with stained glass all throughout it. We saw on the Internet that people climbed to the top of the tower. When we visited (on a Monday) the steps to the tower were locked. And there were actually no employees to ask. There was no fee to enter. The doors were just open.
Jim C — Google review
Wonderful modern church rebuilt after the second world war.
Leonardo Panessa — Google review
Simply stunning. Monumental and brutalist, this church is a must see on a sunny day. Not only is it a good refuge from the heat, but also you see all the colour the windows have play on the wall
Anastasia Balandina — Google review
Not like the other churches you see in the world. Constructed with concrete. Stain glass windows have different tone of colors on different sides. The alter is in the centre of the church.
Wing Chang — Google review
Lovely modern church based around a central altar which in turn sits beneath a tall tower covered in stained glass windows. The four sides of the tower primarily feature four different colours. The result is beautiful coloured light effects which change as the sun moves across the sky during the day.
Susan Kavanagh — Google review
Visiting this church was one of the greatest and most meaningful experiences of my life. The building is simply stunning - impossible to adequately capture in words. I lit a candle for my departed daughter. 10 years on but never forgotten.
DANIEL BROWN — Google review
Amazing architecture, beautiful glass work, free admission.
Wonderful atmosphere, it doesn't look like a normal church because of its lack of religious artefacts. It feels very peaceful.
Diane David — Google review
Looks unobtrusive from the outside, step into it though especially on a bright day and you are in for a treat
vince ryan — Google review
It was a quiet, sunny Thursday. I decided to catch a train and wander around Le Havre. This church caught my sight in the first place, and it was an honour to visit here. The rays light up the small glass window, which creates a breathtaking picture. I felt like I had entered another world that did not belong to this present—must-visit place, when you come to Le Havre.
Suee Ngx — Google review
Impressive, must see. Photos don't do it justice. There's also an interesting exhibition with historical photographs of Le Havre.
The Museum of Modern Art in Le Havre houses a wide range of art from the early 20th century to the present day. The museum is known for its impressionist collection and its location next to the waterfront.
Very interesting museum with friendly staff. Some lesser known impressionist works as well as some well known ones such as Renoir and Pissaro. Also some works that were curiously not at all modern. The restaurant is also very good value for an excellent three course lunch. We went on a Friday which seemed to serve a reduced price menu. Lovely sea views.

Gorgeous place, wonderful layout! Loads of incredible works. Cried my eyes out at some Manet. Very wheelchair friendly. First Saturday of the month is free!
Cat Greenfield — Google review
Extremely unassuming from the outside; the building looks quite austere and unwelcoming. But, as they say, never judge a book by its cover.
Inside, this modern art facility is fabulous, with an extremely varied mix of art representing several genres and eras across generations (and, indeed, centuries). From Manet to, indeed, Monet, French artists are expectedly well represented here, but there are plenty of other pieces on display from a myriad of artists to appreciate too. If a particular style isn't to your taking, you can be guarantee that around the next corner that there will feature something completely in contrast to what you just observed; if you cannot find anything to appreciate in the gallery, then perhaps art isn't for you!
It's an extremely polished but relaxing atmosphere; the perfect location to stroke your chin and pretend to understand the paintings you're looking at. I mean, I don't need to pretend, as I know exactly what each and every painting represents; I am merely referring to the riff raff who bundle off of nearby cruise ships and go into the nearest venue for something to do. The fact I was on a cruise and would have never have otherwise visited this art gallery is purely coincidental!
In all seriousness though, a brilliant gallery with a good number of staff and invigilators on hand to help. Very reasonable entry price too. I never used the café as it was too busy, but from a pure art and culture standpoint, fully recommend.
Leo Croft — Google review
A great museum, awesome architecture and lively collection.
Dov TSAL — Google review
Lovely art collection including Monet, Matisse, Pissarro. Air conditioned. Cafe was ok but you have to eat to enjoy the view! And today it was very hot sitting drinking coffee in the corner…!
Hilary Carden — Google review
Both modern and traditional artwork. Free entry, it also has a cafe.
Outside of the building in the breakwater are symbolic gold painted boulders.
Richard Hindmarch — Google review
The art gallery itself was well laid out over three floors. There was a cafe, bathrooms and a small shop. Air conditioning in the gallery was nice. As for the art, it's not really my thing.
Daniel Murphy — Google review
Went here with nothing much else to do on a Sunday, but what an unexpected delight. 10 yr old daughter loved it (and free entry for under 18s). What a great collection.
The temporary exhibition of Albert Marquet was incredibly well presented - blew me (and several others while I was there) away. Loved it
owen bullock — Google review
Very modern and well laid out. Several Monets along with excellent pieces by artists, with an emphasis on the local area. Small enough to do it justice in 2 hours or so.
paul bennett — Google review
An impressive collection of impressionist paintings which makes a part of Normandy’s impressionist collections. You can visit the museum and the temporary exposition in about one hour and a half.
Nihad Siddig — Google review
A couple of months ago I went to most of the headline museums in Paris, but this is the best art museum I have visited in France this year. The core collection is made up of a lot of sketches and a few fully worked up paintings by local impressionist artist Eugene Boudin. There is a whole wall of sketches from along the nearby coast, plus another of really charming cow pictures. Alongside this is a collection of more and less well known late 19th and early 20th century names (including Renoir and Pissaro), but I thought many of the highlights were by artists I didn't recognise. There is one fabulous example of pointilism plus two genuinely magnificent busts of a man and woman from Sudan.
Alex Cheyne — Google review
Lovely gallery although I am not sure what the definition of “modern” art is! Permanent collection was very nice to see although some pieces were 300 years old! A nice couple of hours spent wandering around.
Angela G — Google review
Unexpectedly large collection of expressionist art, including Monet, Manet, Sisley, one Gaugin, one Degas, and a lot of works of locally-based maritime painter Boudin. 🌊😍
€7 entrance fee, totally worth it.
Towering white cliff featuring a monumental natural arch eroded by the sea, accessible at low tide.
Totally worth to walk up here to enjoy the views. Avoid weekends and hours after noon. It gets too crowdy and noisy
Gerardo Garc?s — Google review
Absolutely stunning place. There is an easy to moderate hike starting from the city center and ending at the light house, takes about 1-2 hours. Stay safe, don't come too close to the edges of the cliffs.
Polina Mal — Google review
Amazing place to visit and enjoy the natural beauty. Take some time to climb up to see the view from the cliff. And very recommend to have some time to spend on the beach, just listening to the waves. Peaceful, relaxing and recharging place.

Beautiful views and trails, wasn’t too busy at the end of September. It looked like if the tied had been out you could have walked at the base of the cliffs as well which would have been pretty cool. Very nice town with lots of restaurant options.

Great place to spend 2-3 days. Parking is a little expensive so it is recommended to park 15 minutes by foot outside the town which is half the price as the parking spot inside.
Outstanding food - would rate 8.44/10

AMAZING place to visit, what a fantastic view from up there! You can take a short walk (kind of easy) up the hill to enjoy and admire what nature has to offer. I felt fantastic when I got to the top !
Great place for beautiful photos, there’s also a little cave between big stones pretty cool to check out.
Pet friendly.
The gardens Les Jardins D'Etretat in Saint-Tropez are well-manicured and picturesque gardens peppered with modern sculptures. The gardens are open every day from 10 am to 7 pm.
Fantastic gardens with beautiful sculptures with deep meanings. The space is fantastic with a lot of details and the artistic garden has a wonderful backdrop with the cliffs in the background. I really recommend doing a stop there because it is really worth it in my opinion.

Sardorbek Pulatov — Google review
It’s an ok garden, don’t know and can’t imagine what all the buzz is about. We have paid 50 euros to look at rows of green bushes. No parking nearby, you either have to climb the cliff or take a train from the car park at the bottom(which is always busy)
The views from there are great, especially on a sunny day. But even now in march, when flowers like tulips and daffodils are in abundance, there weren’t even one in sight.

Very different.. but enjoyable to walk around with amazing views.
€8.95 if you buy online or €10.50 at the door.
Just bring your hiking boots! Because it's a bit of a trek to get there!

Such a cool and unique experience! Would definitely recommend. It is difficult to get to as the road to the gardens was closed to cars and it was uphill but definitely worth it!
Katie Conley — Google review
Lovely place. So peaceful and beautiful. I loved the sculptures as much as all the plants. I would not recommend this place for young children if you want to have the time to enjoy these gardens at a slow pace.
Even though it is outdoor, the Pass Sanitaire was required to enter.
There is a small shop in the house, although we did not enter.
I would definitely recommend a visit!

Beautiful park with an amazing history and story. Different areas of the garden gives new perspectives to the artist depictions of the area, perspectives of reality and art, providing visitors with an immersive experience.
Entrant fee can be slightly pricey, but worth the experience with well trimmed plants, giving a clean and polished tour to all visitors.

It's beautiful and really fresh place but it's extremely small. You wanted to enjoy the calmness of nature and the perfect view to the bay, but you could not: a lot of people hanging around here. Nice, there is some art works of Ukrainian designer Bazar Bilyk. But the price in 12€ is a bit too much

Great gardens, with great art. A bit busy and therefore it was difficult to park the car. After finally finding a parking place it is a steep walk up the hill to reach the gardens. I refused to take a tourist train for 8 euros 😁. The gardens are beautiful though.

Absolute MUST-visit place! A collage of a group of international artists' work assembled together in an inspiring way. Yet, they fit together in a fabric of extremely well-tended and organized garden greenery. Strongly suggest to pickup a brochure at the tickets stand to make sure you don't miss anything. The gardens area is not large, which is good, giving ability to cover it all in the reasonable time. And get back to what talks to you the most. Have coffee shop on site - very useful for a break. Well worth the 12 Eur entrance ticket.
Do not miss!
HIGHLY recommend!

As a person loving nature and as a garden designer, I have highly enjoyed walking through these gardens. I am huge believer in combining garden design and art. Gardens of Etretat are one of the best examples of combining these two elements in a very inspirational way. I will definitely return in other season, too, to see how it’s changing throughout the year. I especially LOVE the metal sculptures called Space Between that, combined with seemingly simple planting, create a unique outdoor art&garden exhibition. Really well done.

Very interesting place to visit. Designed by the landscape architect Alexander Grivko.
This place takes a reunion of several artist of all around the world to present their work and influence.

Jardins d’Etretat is an iconic place in the north of France. It not only appears in Monopoly French edition )) but you may find it on famous paintings (like Claude Monet, Henri Matisse) and postcards as well.
You can’t get to the Gardens by car. So to make walking uphill easier - take rue Jules Gerbeau to get to the gardens and use the stairs to go back (that way you naturally enjoy the view all the way down).
Take your time, don’t be in a rush, read the signs - otherwise you don’t get full value of your visit.

Magic place likely you are in Alice in Wonderland, stunning green. The bushes are very well-groomed and the sculptures with faces that I saw on Instagram and didn’t know where it was and accidentally got into this fabulous place, the entrance is 12€ and inside there is also a cafe and swings and wooden benches
Lidia Frundina — Google review
Amazing gardens, a must see. Very well maintained. It is a bit of a hike to get there and as the gardens are on a cliff I would.
The entry fee is 12 euro per person, which I thought was a bit expensive.
You can walk through the whole garden in about 1 hour, including time to read the descriptions at the various locations throughout the gardens.
Explanations are in English and there is a QR code at the entrance by which you can download the map as PDF, which I think is a nice addition.

Few people still know about this holy place and for many it is still undiscovered ( I had a small trip from Paris to Lisieux by Train for one day) . This building is about a hundred years old and Pope John Paul II visited it for the first time. The type of building is a combination of modernity and traditional architecture with granite stones and paintings, as well as a large dome with the ability to reflect sound in the centre of building, At the top of the hill, beautiful and quiet and easy to access (on foot or by car) with parking and a boutique.
(I still don't know why different types of stars are used in the exterior design of the building)

A fascinating experience, with lots to reflect on and give thanks for in the life of St Therese of Lisieux. The cloister gets relatively few visitors, but it's the clearest glimpse of her longing for all people, even the worst of criminals, to find peace in God's love

Quite the trek by train from Paris to get here and it's BEAUTIFUL and worth it! You can no longer see the entire body of St Therese, but her relic is there inside the church. She's a modern Saint for the ages and a grata example of humility amd perseverance in the face of suffering

One of the most beautiful basilicas I have ever seen!! It is well worth the extra walk up the outside backstairs to the stations of the cross. That you will find the burial site of St Therese's parents.

This is a large building dedicated to St. Teresa of Lisieux. There is a lot to see on the site beside the church itself. Inside the church is beautifully decorated with mosaics of many saints and holy images. Because of the size it wasn't crowded or noisy inside despite the number of visitors.
I would have liked to have been able to spend a couple of hours here but wasn't able to.
The Palais Bénédictine – Visites et Bar à cocktails is an interesting 19th century rebuild palace with historical medivial facts. It has a great collection of art exhibits and antique books, as well as a bar where you can try different cocktails.
It was an interesting visit, also giving you the chance to enter this beautiful palace. Unluckily there are only two kinds of tickets, children and adults, a bit expensive because they include several liqueur tasting even for the people who do not drink. There is a fresh welcome drink served with lime juice, then the tour starts with the discovery of flavours, ingredients and history of the liqueur, ending with the final tasting of all the kinds of Bénedectine that are produced, and that are also available in the shop.

I visited this palace together with someone who doesn’t speak neither understand french, and we were the only 2 people who said to the guide, Samantha, that we don’t speak French. I can understand french (as I speak a bit and my mother tongue is Spanish), I noticed that Samantha was giving quite more information in French than in English, what I consider as not professional guide in a touristic attraction like this. I asked her about an explanation that she made in French about where the spices come from and she said to me that I could read that information in the description of every spice. Well I was wondering why she is a guide, if I can read any information. I thought that a guide is there to explain more than what is written and to answer questions from visitors. Samantha made us feel really uncomfortable treating us like this and taking us beside the rest of visitors. I have been many times in France and I have felt myself like at home, when people speak to me about the stereotype that French people are arrogant, I was always denying such stereotype, but I guess people mean the attitude that Samantha showed me there. It is a pity.
Beside that, the castle is a beautiful place and has an interesting history. As for the liquor, I guess it is a personal taste, for me it was too sweet.

An interesting place to visit; fabulously ornate build which was actually built in several old styles. It was interesting to learn the history of how Benedictine came about and also a bit about the process for making it. A tasting at the end of the tour was the ideal way to conclude the visit!

Interesting place to visit. Only organized groups tour are allowed. We didn't have English speaking group, so joined a French language group and received a brochure to follow up. A couple of rooms were closed, so the tickets' price reflected that - it was correct. The guides were pleasant and answered our questions in English, when was possible. The video went into loop, so the group was seating and watching it second time - probably scared from exam at the end of a tour:)
The tasting was well organized with 3 out of 4 type of spirit presented.
Overall - a pure touristic spot. We left with a feeling that it was questionable to drive 45 minutes for it.
Average value for your money.

Interesting visit. Amazing building and museum, followed by another really interesting visit of the distillery and cellars and then finally a tasting. English language tours available. Do I like Bendictine? I don't know, but I remember my parents had a bottle in the 70s, so I bought one.

This is a fascinating distillery with a fascinating history.
Benedictine is a recipe from Venice that contains 27 herbs and is used as a medical tincture. During the French Revolution, the monks were expelled from the monastery, and a family connected with the monks' financing discovered the recipe in a book and began producing it again.
Akexandre Le Grand was a wine merchant and a brilliant marketer, and his sales skyrocketed. The distillery, which is now owned by Bacardi, continues to produce the liqueur. The alcohol is sucked into large tankers and transported to a bottling plant.

Zoo de Cerza is a wildlife park that offers an exciting experience for visitors. It features a variety of animals including big cats, rhinos, kangaroos, and reptiles. The park also provides lodge accommodation for those who want to extend their stay. Visitors can enjoy up-close encounters with the animals and even have the opportunity to feed some of them. The park has well-maintained walkways and new features that enhance the overall experience.
Fantastic Zoo. Penalty to see and do. It is great how close you can get to the animal. Would definitely recommend a visit

Had a nice time at the Safari park. The day was cold and blustery and some of the animals were sheltering from the wind so didn't make an appearance. However we really enjoyed seeing those that braved the weather. The park was clean and accessible and there has obviously been a lot of work building new features, such as walkways, and maintaining existing ones. I recommend a visit, but maybe on a warmer day. Our highlight of the day was definitely the Gibbons' acrobatics! 🙂

Absolutely wonderful healthy looking happy animals with incredible huge habitats. The two walking routes allow you to see everything in an orderly way (save at least 3.5 hours for the two) and the walks were not strenuous (my 3 year old coped fine). The giraffes come right up within 20cm of you, the tigers also come very close and it’s honestly the best zoo I’ve ever been to. All the animals in Cerza have been bred in captivity but have fantastic homes with a lot of space to be away from the public when they want to be.
Charlotte Moseley — Google review
Absolutely fantastic place. We spent all day here with 2 young kids. Under 3's are free and adults are only 23 euros each. There's 2 different routes with lots to see on each and you get much closer to the animals than any other zoo I've been to. The red route is definitely easier to navigate than the yellow one. There's also a train which takes you round different parts of the park you don't see while walking which is included in the price . If you're in the area then definitely make the trip you won't be disappointed.
Mark Farquharson — Google review
Probably the best zoo/animal park I've been to. Huge enclosures for animals, but then pathways are well designed so you can see them. My advice with small children: walk the yellow path first (about 2 hrs), then see the red path on the "train", it covers a similar area.
Dino Scaramanga — Google review
A nice open zoo with large area’s for the animals. The red path is a bit more difficult and steep to walk with a stroller but certainly doable. The safari train is loud and only shows a few animals there not visible from the path.
The burgers with fries I wouldn’t recommend, the fries were flat and the bun a bit soggy.

The best zoo I have been so far. It is huge, you can spend an entire day here without getting bored. It’s also surrounded by the nature, not like those in the city, so it brings more atmosphere to the zoo. You can find any animal here and get close contact with them. The entry price is worth it, for all of the fun it can give you here!

If you are in the area or even passing by, this zoo is well worth the visit. The price of the ticket is relatively cheap for all the extras on offer - train rides, feeding animals and a petting area for the kids. We were lucky enough to have had the chance to hand feed the giraffes which in some zoo’s can cost hundreds. An amazing place and look forward to visiting again next year.

Have visited many Safaris in UK in the last 20 years but this one stands out by many factors. I must say, never been to so many amazing animals that close. So much variety of animals. Foot safari is so amazing and exceptionally well facilitated by making high level platforms, bridges, viewing areas and walking routes.
Just amazing. Full marks
M. Fawad Ansari — Google review
Incredible safari park! It's beautiful to see how well the animals are doing. No apathetic behaviour, just animals living in semi freedom. All other zoo's should look at this one to see how they should build their park and care for the animals. There was one big irritation factor, wasps everywhere. Really annoying. But that is not something you can control in summer in France.

Visited the abbey several times in the past years. It is a beautiful place. Last time (in 2018) we got a tour in the abbey church by one of the monks. It was very interesting. The museum shop has moved in another building. The monks sell self-manufactured tableware, religious books and food. The buildings are in good shape. The bell tower Saint-Nicolas is impressive. Château de Beaumesnil is a stunning moated castle with well-preserved rooms and beautiful gardens. Visitors can explore the main hall, library, kitchen, bedrooms, and even discover hidden gems like a boudoir entered through a wardrobe. The chateau offers an extensive collection of antique books and bindings for history enthusiasts to admire. Despite some signs of wear and tear on the furniture, the overall experience is delightful.

Hello,
Really nice chateau, We spent around two hours walking from one room to another inside. There are some rooms that offer a lot of interesting things to see such as the main hall, library etc., some had really just a a few things or barely anything. The chateau and some furniture had signs of "wear & tear", but they didn't spoil the overall impression.
My wife and I spent around two hours for the rooms and thirty minutes for the gardens. The gardens didn't impress us as much as chateau, may be because we not in the mood.
Also noticed a few buildings outside that we could visit such as "the wash house", but, as I said, the options to see something there were a bit limited.
In short: we enjoyed our visit, however, bit if you have a choice - choose one that us bigger and better maintained.
Best regards,
Rustam.

We visited this wonderful castle on our way to Paris and we really enjoyed this opportunity, although we didn't have enough time to see the interior of the castle, but only the gardens, we were pleasantly impressed ,the pictures do not even half reflect the beauty of the place even in a cold and gloomy period like January .
We were also impressed by the halls and the entrance to the rooms for rent, the decor and atmosphere are special and seem very lively and not necessarily museum pieces like in other castles, although their beauty urges us to take care .Definitely a place where we will return with more time at our disposal to admire both the castle and the gardens. 💚💙

My family and I were very upset about the keeping of pigeons! The three of them were locked in a cage with no plants. It looked really sad because the other pigeons had a paradise outside the cage. Unfortunately, our stay was somewhat ruined because we had a very bad conscience. I hope that this will soon be changed and the pigeons will get an animal-friendly enclosure!! Otherwise, we liked the castle and the park, as well as the animal collection, very much! Especially the grotto. Unfortunately, the newer park area with the Indian garden was not yet completely finished and accessible.

have tried to visit on several occasions but opening times are a bit erratic (as often in France). But got it right this time & it was worth it. The scale is spectacular, the planting & maintenance impeccable, the vistas & garden buildings and architectural tricks a constant surprise & delight. The hedging, topiary, ground cover & specimen planting was varied, ingenious & at times quite theatrical, especially, the emerging tour de force of the yew topiary lions (sphinxes? dogs?) . Good for us that there were very few people there: in England it would be packed.on an Sunday in August. For me it is one of the half dozen best gardens I have seen in France.
We had lunch in the chateau restaurant; caesar salad. It was sound and fair value but uninspired. The decor is a bit overpowering & too dark.

8 Rte du Château, 27110 Sainte-Opportune-du-Bosc, France
Family-friendly amusement park with thrilling rides, fairytale-themed attractions & food outlets.
Very nice and affordable attraction parc, especially with kids who are over 90cm - 105 cm in length. Those are the two thresholds defining the number of attractions the kids can go into. There are a lot of fun attractions for those small kids. Beautifully made, in themes like the farm or bees and insects. But the teenagers amd adults are also tended to. Also for those longer than 130cm there are enough rollercoaster rides to spend the day. Read the boards very carefully, sometimes it's written in small print that kids who are smaller than the threshold can still ride the attraction if accompanied by an adult. The attractions for the big kids are grouped together, a.o. in a jurassic parc theme.
All the attractions are very close together so it's not a problem to move back and forth or even return to the car to get something. There are a lot of roofed picknick places - ideal for rainy days. Also on the parking lot, so you could leave the picknick in the car and re-enter the parc after lunch. Also bring your (kids') swimsuits, especially on hot days. There is a waterfountain playground, which is a lot of fun and refreshing.
FastFood and icecream can be bought in several places, but was not of the best quality. Also the hotdogs were more like a baguette with a long hotdog sausage in it with molten cheese. (It was twice as large as I'd expected).
All in all it was a very fun and relaxing day we spent at le bocasse. The kids had a great time, and we enjoyed a few rollercoasters. The grandparents didn't want to go into a lot of attreactions, but there were several shows (like 4d cinema and water ballet) which we could enjoy all together.
If you are in the area and looking for something to do with the kids, most certainly worth a detour. Buy your tickets online if you're with 5 persons - you'll get one ticket for free (family pass).

Excellent park in the zone. A lot of attractions for all ages. The only problem I found is the lack of enough personnel in the restaurants. I had to wait for almost one hour to get two servings of sausages and fries.
There is, however, a picnic area right outside in the parking lot

Great park, a few bigger rides but nothing really thrilling. It's good for kids, everything is maintained well, rides are smooth and everything feels a lot cleaner and nicer. The tickets are reasonably priced. The Q's were probably about half an hour maximum which makes a change to theme parks in the UK. The park isn't huge but there's still enough there to stay all day. I enjoyed going here.

We're a family of four with a five year old and a six year old. The Parc du Bocasse was perfect. Lots of rides that five year old and six year old children could enjoy and very little time spent in queues. The park looked very well maintained and didn't push merchandise and junk food the way many other parks do. Well worth a visit!
Christopher Hutchinson — Google review
This amusement park is a real bargain for the price paid. There is a wide variety of somewhat old-fashioned attractions (suitable for children) and state-of-the-art roller coasters that will put every person's nerves to the test (check out Orochi but stay away from the front seats if you're squeamish !). Many attractions are themed (Jurassic Park) and this effort makes for an immersive experience. People can bring their own lunch and use small huts with tables to eat instead of having to buy what's on offer. Due to its popularity, the park can suffer from long waiting times, especially around spectacular attractions (Splash-o-Saur/water slide). Overall, people seem to enjoy good-natured fun. Parking is free.
Michael Doise — Google review
Our kids (12 and 14) enjoyed the park very much. We stayed for more than six hours, and easily could have spend another two hours... 🙂

Even at the height of summer we didn't queue more than 10-15 minutes for anything. Most of the time there were no queues at all.
This is a small theme park but has some good rides. It may not excite the well seasoned thrill seeker but it would probably keep children from 18months - 16 years happy enough.
There is a roller coaster, water ride and a funny indoor 'Bee-world' ride in the style of a 'It's a small world'.
If you go early it is quieter as the locals don't tend to get there until midday.
It was relatively good value and had a wide variety of attractions.
Well worth a visit.

Younger children would enjoy other areas but those over 13 might not find it that exciting. Clean, friendly and park looks very new. Food choice very limited and coffee out of a machine but you can bring your own food and drink. Would recommend if nearby

Parc du Bocasse is a cosy and pleasant amusement park north of Rouen. Orochi is undeniably a great addition to the roster. Fort d'Odin is equally entertaining. Friendly staff and well-kept park. I highly recommend this one.
The Rouen Museum of Fine Arts is a notable provincial museum in France, showcasing an extensive collection of art from the 15th century onwards. This prestigious institution houses important works by renowned artists such as Monet, who frequently depicted the Cathedral Notre-Dame in Rouen during his time in nearby Giverny.
Free and pretty! Highly recommend everyone to come here. Their signage is easy to understand, the museum is small enough and not too crowded (personally, I find it very inconvenient if the museum is too crowded and you don't have enough space or concentration to see the works). .

Fantastic gallery, though a little confusingly laid out. Rooms are numbered but not all and not always logically. Staff helpful and spoke English, there are free lockers on site to store bags too. Art is great with a wide selection of famous artist. Highly recommended

Great museum with a very friendly personnel. We were with little kids who were quite noisy, but the personnel didn't mind and even helped to calm the baby down. Really sweet of them.
As for the paintings - it's a very interesting collection, especially the rooms with impressionists and Dutch painters.

Excellent museum, the permanent exhibitions are free to visit. Lots of nice paintings and artwork, even some Monets. A must visit when in Rouen.

No need to purchase a ticket in advance since the entry to the permanent collection is free. The small museum has a lot of gems: worth the passage for the visit.

Wow - this place would grace any capital not to mind a regional French city.
Has a huge range of art from about 15th century to 20th with paintings from well know names such as Velázquez, Carravaggio, Monet etc.
And its free to everyone!!!!

Amazing museum with some really notable pieces of artwork. Highly recommended since it is free for everyone. There are even free lockers provided and the staff are very welcoming and nice to the visitors. Expect to spend 1-2 hours here at the least.

Make sure you get the ticket at the front desk. It's free but you still need a ticket. No signs for that and no info on the website about it. No clear entrance line once you get into the museum but someone will show up and ask you about the ticket.
Security will check your bag and water bottle is not allowed. A free museum coin will be granted so you can store your things at the storage area downstairs. The whole museum is indoor so feel free to leave your coat, hat, scarf, etc at the storage
Most staff at the museum are nice and friendly. I got to chat with two of them, and ask questions about the paintings. They may not know the technical details but they are willing to help and share what they know. (I did speak French with them so not sure how experience might be different for other language speakers)
The place seems to be kids friendly. I bumped into a group of kindergarten kiddos and they love to ask my name, who I am, if I am a volunteer ;)
The museum's impressionists' collection is worth the visit alone. Doesn't take long to go through the whole two floors. 1-1.5 hours in my opinion

Some rooms like the one with Mpdigliani had no light.
On a cloudy day it was very dark to see.
Also many important explanatory signs were only in French.
Some well known painters were a pleasant surprise

A great place to visit and see how Rouen has influenced artists throughout centuries. The impressionists are the star attractions but I also loved the huge paintings near the end of the tour round. So much to see into them! Plus it's free to get in!

A lovely museum in a lovely park. I enjoyed my 2-hour long visit (permanent collections did not require a ticket). There is a very interesting collection of art, including several works from geniuses like Caravaggio, Velazquez, Ribera and Gericault, as well as less known but none the less interesting Dutch and Flemish artists... and many more. Also the "anamorphose" by Domenico Piola (after a painting by Rubens) was something I've never seen before. The museum is not crowded, so one may enjoy art in a pleasant meditative atmosphere.

We visited on a cool spring day, as part of a day in Rouen. Helpful security/staff took our umbrellas for safe keeping, and pointed us to the cloakroom for the lockers (need 1€ or 2€ coin to close, refunded when opened). The fixed sculpture and painting collection is excellent, and when we were there a David Hockney exhibition, which was very impressive. Our only disappointment was that the cycle parking is in the square outside, consisting of hoops for about 10 bikes, and despite obvious CCTV a Kryptonite lock lying in pieces by the hoops suggested bikes are stolen from there regularly.

We went there to eat as it was the only place in walking distance from our accomodation. The place is huge, filled with kitchy native American motives and hunting trophies. I got the buffalo antricote which was quite difficult to chew. They served us very fast, actually it was too fast, I suppose they already had the food prepared and just warmed it a bit. I would not go there a 2nd time.

Excellent experience. The big five are not on offer. However, there is an abundance of animals and creatures to look at. The enclosures are very well presented and there is an atmosphere of calm in the park. Walkways have been well thought out with wonderful foliage and rocks. The large tropical paradise is fabulous

We had an amazing day here. It was raining most of the day, but we still had a great time. There are a few places to shelter on the outside loop of the park, but there is more than enough to keep you busy inside if it is raining! The range of animals is incredible and they are all so well looked after. Enclosures are a good size and animals look very happy. The information boards are in French and English. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
The lake and parks here also look so good. We didn't use them as it was too wet. However, on a hot day you could easily spend a full day and even a return visit here. So much to do!

A very rich and unique experience featuring a huge greenhouse populated by tropical animals and plants, and an even bigger outdoor range with some of the animals living in liberty. We were an adult couple, and it took us 2 hours to visit the whole place on a non-rainy day. So if you have kids, prepare double the amount of time, or be ready to see a fraction of the park. Regardless, the experience is worth every penny.

Château Gaillard is a ruined castle situated on a hilltop with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding verdant countryside and the Seine River. It was constructed in an astonishingly short period between 1196 and 1198 under Richard the Lionheart's leadership to protect England's western border. Despite its historical significance, it was demolished in 1603 at Henry IV's command, after having already fallen once in 1204.
Highly recommended. There are some informational boards that tell the history. Nice panoramic view over the castle, the Seine and Petit-Andely from the Parking Chateau Gaillard. But also nice view from the castle grounds themselves. The castle is freely accessible with the exception of the Keep.
Matthieu Covemaeker — Google review
Great view from the top, there is no much to see from the Château but it holds part of an important history of France and England. The view from the top is great and the little town below is beautiful, and get ready for a good walk.

That's nice to walk around and discover the history of this castle full of intrigue, love and murder. The innermost part was closed to the public today. Maybe under renovation, but the rest was open. Not much to see, but nice stop on the road and great views. Nice walks too if you're coming from Les Andelys or even from the first parking.

I couldn't get in, but I believe the true reward lies outside... Get there from an elevated ground while growing with anticipation, park you car in the slope, walk the many paths to it, climb the last meters and be delighted with the view over the river with a romantic village at is side... Trully amazing. Some ruins they are. Best fotos I took from all weekend

Great views of the seine River and valley but the castle is a ruin so you need to be careful when walking around.

Built by King Richard the Lionheart in the late 1100’s. It had a moat which was really just a ditch since they could not get any water up there to fill it. It is a nice walk up to the site from Les Andyles village. Walked up a narrow roadway and there were a few cars with residents heading off somewhere. So be careful.

The Museum of Impressionism Giverny is a renowned art institution dedicated to the history of Impressionism. Open from March to November, it offers an extensive collection and captivating exhibitions. Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2019, the museum showcases remarkable artworks donated to its collections. One such exhibition, "Reflets dune collection," allowed visitors to explore these treasures until August 2020.
A beautiful art collection surrounded by a stunning garden with a fantastic restaurant wrapped in windows. With an unforgettable outlook onto the gardens. Not to be missed if visiting Giverny. At the restaurant, try a kir cider cocktail as an aperitif before a meal. The French onion soup and the mussels cooked in white wine and shallots were both superb.
Susan Lengyel — Google review
I would highly recommend starting the tour here at the museum before Monet’s house and garden. It is such an artist heaven. With the exhibition there is plenty background info to help ground your visit to the rest of sights. You will appreciate monet’s waterlily pond ans his lush garden so much more. Tucked in Giverny, the secluded scenery is perfect in spring time. Flowers and bushes are lush and vibrant. The amazing feel of walking through the Japanese bridge in Monet’s paintings draped with aromatic flowers is hard to describe in words. You will just have to be there to experience.
The place does get crowded with tourist groups, so early the day seems to be better.
Happy travel

Soooo happy to visit here finally. The flower power exhibition is brilliant. We thought there may have been a permanent exhibition but there wasn't. I was so pleased to see the beautifully curated works of art, and learned a lot about new artists. Really good.

It is just O.K. Their permanent art is a bit underwhelming. Maybe some temporary exhibitions - like Renoir one - can make an impression better. But, there are way better museums for that price or even free ones.

We went in the winter when it was closed. So not it's best season. Still a nice stop. Restaurant was tasty but simple food.
The Fondation Claude Monet in Giverny is a captivating destination that showcases the house, gardens, and studio of renowned artist Claude Monet. This artistic haven offers visitors a romantic and unexpected journey through its ornate gardens, Japanese prints, and the artist's studio-sitting room. In addition to this iconic site, Giverny also houses the Musee des Impressionnismes Giverny, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2019.
There can be no doubt that this is a most beautiful place to visit, but I'd definitely recommend-
*Book tickets in advance
*Go outside of school/public holidays
*Plan your visit for when the water lilies are in bloom!
We went on Easter Sunday and it was VERY busy (fortunately I'd bought tickets in advance) and sadly the lake was bare- BUT it did not detract from the wonderful time we had.
The village of Giverny is well worth a stroll around too if you can take in so much beauty in one day!

A very special place to visit to see the work of this great painter. The garden is well laid out and signposted. Lots of photo opportunities as well as time to reflect on the beauty of the planting. The house is a bonus to see how Monet lived, his work, the amazing views of the garden from the house. Timed tickets. Spend about 3 hours. The gift shop is good value and there is something for everyone in terms of price options. Places to eat and drink in the village. Parking is well organised. Couldn’t give 5 stars as staff made us wait an hour in the sun due to staffing issues with no regard to the bill elderly members of the group.

This was my second time to Giverny. (The first was 30 years ago.) No surprise, the gardens were beautiful, the pond was beautiful, the flowers up close were beautiful BUT - and this is a big BUT - the crowds were too much, in both the house and the gardens. It was honestly stressful to try to walk along the paths because there were so many people crammed onto the grounds. I’m used to going to gardens to be reflective and to enjoy the experience. The crowds made it unpleasant (And this was a Monday. Imagine what it would be like on the weekend!) That’s why I gave the Monet house three stars instead of five.
I have no desire to go back, no matter how pretty my pictures turned out. I actually felt anxiety amidst the crowds.
I’d like to make a recommendation to the Foundation, if that doesn’t seem to pompous: please only allow a certain number of people on the grounds every day. Charge a little more to make up for what you might lose in ticket sales. But please reduce the number of people – and regulate (stagger) the times so that the there are not thousands of people, trying to navigate a place that is supposed to be tranquil and contemplative. (In my photos, I waited for people to pass – so you can’t see the crowds - but trust me, they were there!)

Beautiful, one of a kind place. It makes one wonder if Monet was more of a gardener than a painter. Once on site, it was easy to see where he got his inspiration. Beware, get there early as it gets overwhelmingly crowded.

We drove easily from Paris to Giverny and parked on the free Verger’s parking lot. 13:30 was perfect for us to visit the house and the gardens.
Worth the drive and the wait (line) to discover beautiful paintings of him especially when you can get up close !

The house and the gardens were absolutely a delight to watch. I went in June and I believe it's the perfect time to visit, because it was already spring and just the start of summer, hence it was full of blossomed flowers and not very crowded.

The house and garden where Monet spent his final years and painted some of his most famous pieces such as the water lilies or the bridge. An interesting visit and a good source of inspiration for artists. The village of Giverny itself is also quite cute despite the "tourist effect"

VERY NEAT FOR A MONET FAN. This was a great detour on our way to Normandy. Parking is challenging though if you wait king enough someone leaves. When we came there was also a market (Sunday morning) so that made parking even more difficult. We did not have advance tickets and only waited in line for 5 mins to purchase. The gardens and ponds are amazing. The flowers are incredible. The house is really neat as It has his first studio with replica paintings. The feel of the gardens shows how one of the great impressionists could be motivated to paint. It was beautiful.

Highlight of my recent Paris trip! Quite straightforward reaching this place (by train and then shuttle bus; signs are very clear once you reach Vernon). My recommendation is plan the trip yourself but buy entry tickets in advance. Spent about 3 hours here. Loved browsing the shop too. Even though it was crowded - I came in summer, there are little pockets of quiet where you can sit around and just soak in the atmosphere of this beauty of a place.

Possible the most beautiful garden in the world! I dreamt of this place for years before visiting. After finding a book about Monet’s garden several years earlier this place had been in my bucket list until I finally had the time to visit during a trip to Paris in 2023. I travelled from Paris as part of a coach tour and spent the entire day in Giverny. It was a rainy day, but did not take away from the magic of the experience. 8 full time staff tend the garden and the tulip beds are certainly a highlight. Although the water lilies were not in bloom during my visit, the lily pond was still amazing to behold. The Japanese bridges hold so much history and are iconic scenes. I brought my watercolours to paint while attending.
Would definitely recommend taking a day to visit by train or tour coach.

Wonderful and moving experience. The home is charming and loaded with art (not Monet's but special nevertheless), photos, and furnishings to recreate how Monet lived in a key mature part of his artistic life and after achieving rare "success while still living". Although the gardens have been replaced, they did so with the greatest effort to make it exactly as it was. The garden is absolutely lovely as well as the pond where waterlilies and other masterpieces were painted. The village is lovely as well. Great experience.

Stunning and worth visiting early in the day. Visit through Monet's house before the gardens to avoid the crowds.
The e-ticket was poorly signposted if you catch the shuttle bus from Vernon Gare, it's actually the Group-entry gate near the underwater, rather than the main entrance up near the gift-shop.

Beautiful gardens. Visited in August 2023. Many flowers in bloom. Visited the house. Couldn't really take your time in the house due to the number of visitors. Arrived for opening 9.30am. Well worth the time here

If you love art and nature/garden, you should visit this place during Spring!
To get there, you could take the TER (train) and then you will get a shuttle bus from the station to the location. Once you reach there, you will have to walk for like 5 minutes to reach the garden.
If you are hungry or want to take something quick, there are a few restaurants and takeaway places outside of the garden. Keep in mind that if the ticket is single entry, you cannot exit the place and come back, in case you gets hungry! ;)
So the place, I really loved the garden, which was peaceful and beautiful at the same time. I spent quite sometime in the garden before entering to the Monet’s house. The house is filled with his and many other artists works, which are amazing.
Also, do lots of forget to go to the other side of the garden where you could find small water canal and a pond.
I spent almost 2-3 hours there and then grabbed a small sandwich from one of the takeaway shops after exiting from the place.
Also, one more suggestion, try to go in the morning time slot, something near 10:30 a.m. for a better experience.
I will highly recommend you to visit this amazing place at least one time!

This place is absolutely magical! If you are anywhere near here - within 100 miles - then go!!! Book online before going just in case there’s a queue or it is full. There is so much to see and explore and just get lost in the gardens. We went in summer and it was simply amazing. There were some crowds but it didn’t feel crowded at all. Park at the lot just opposite - plenty of spaces. Could have spent the whole day there but settled for 4 hours in the afternoon.

The Fondation Monet is a must-visit for any fan of Impressionist art. The house and gardens are beautifully preserved, and it is easy to see why Monet was inspired by them. The gardens are especially stunning in the spring and summer, when the flowers are in bloom. I would recommend visiting early in the day to avoid the crowds.
The staff at the Fondation Monet are friendly and helpful. They were happy to answer our questions about Monet and his work. We also enjoyed the guided tour, which gave us a deeper understanding of the gardens.

Worth the visit. Its a small place (house and garden) but the flowers and the paintings in the house are so, so beautiful. You probably will spend maybe 3 hours max. Can have a lot of visitors, so need to be patient when taking pics. Also, the shop at the end is super interesting! Couldn't resist to buy something!!
Being from America, seeing something so magnificent is amazing. Granted, we saw it when it was closed, the restoration is coming along beautifully. The sear size of the grounds is wonderful and open. This is one place I would keep coming back to. Every angle is beautiful.

Not good. What is there is locked up. The gardens are fine but why bother preserving a castle if visitors can not access the towers etc?
A very interesting motte, shell keep with donjon and some unique galleries for archers - yet all inaccessible.
We visited enroute back to the ferry, so no great loss.
However, Gisors is missing out on something. In fact, they are missing out on everything.

Great location and very easy to visit because there is free parking just outside the entrance. Restorative work is in progress. Thoiry ZooSafari is a unique destination that offers a combination of zoo, safari tours, world farm, maze, play areas and a castle with gardens. Visitors can enjoy a beautiful day out observing well-cared-for animals in spacious enclosures. The zoo features an array of animals, some of which may be unfamiliar to many visitors. There are shaded areas and picnic tables available for relaxation. The zoo also boasts playgrounds and entertainment options suitable for visitors of all ages.
Thoiry is undoubtedly the best zoo I've ever visited! I brought along my 2-year-old and 5-year-old, and we all had an absolutely fantastic time. The hyena and lion areas stand out with tunnels that allow you to walk through their habitats under a glass covering, providing an incredible view of the animals. Thoiry offers several playgrounds and a massive rope/trampoline/climbing area that entertained all of us, including my 75-year-old mother. What's remarkable is the spacious enclosures for each animal, which are meticulously designed to replicate their local habitats, setting it apart from zoos in the US. Though we missed the drive-through experience, we explored the entire zoo and will return during our next trip to France. I highly recommend Thoiry, especially if you have kids!

You can enjoy a safari for 30 euros (include the light show of Thoiry's castle). You will be able to sit next to ostrich and antelope. A rare things to do! There are also wolves, bears, elephant and giraffe! Be careful, if you want to see bears active don't go in winter or they will hibernate!

Great experience. Family friendly and amazing night lights. The safari experience in itself is great. Good opportunity to exchange about deforestation and climate change impacts on biodiversity with children.

Very beautiful environment. Wonderfully set for the animals to feel at home and for the visitors to have a close-up experience. Great for all ages!!!

Waste of time and waste of money. We initially did the safari (taking your car and driving through), and barely saw any animals. They only had 1 elephant, 2 giraffes, 2 camels, 3 zebras, a few ostriches and small black bears.
Then we parked our cars and walked into the zoo. What another waste of time. We had to walk for hours just to see a few skinny lions, 2 tigers, 4 gorillas, a few small kangaroos and one medium size anaconda (just naming the few interesting animals that was there).
They also had chickens, frogs, small raccoons, very small otters, 2 horses and a few other animals like foxes, parrots and 1 leopard. In addition, the park was dirty and not well maintained.
Overall, if I knew I wouldn't have visited at all. It was a complete waste of time and money.

This is certainly not an African safari, but it is a very good urban safari.
I was surprised by the place, the beautiful manor and the well-kept surroundings, as well as the lion glass tunnel.
I would recomended everyone to visit this safari zoo.

I am not a big fan of zoos bit we took our 7yr old. This is a good zoo. The layout is very nice. They have a lot of interesting species that I had never seen, also tunnels through the feline enclosures. And a drive through “safari.” It’s all a bit small but very tidy, very nice. It always breaks my heart to see the gorillas bored to death.
The kids games a great. The food is absolutely disgusting, bring a picnic lunch.

The ticket includes the safari, the zoo and the castle. The safari had decent amount of animals. A separate section for the American animals. Overall the zoo is well kept and has some exotic animals.

Amazing place: safari is awesome, you almost can touch a bear, a lot of other usual zoo animals and side activities like a zip line and a rope city. Recommend to use 2 days pass to have time for everything, especially if with kids.

Beautiful day out seeing animals who looked well cared and had proper spaces cared of to live in. Lots of animals, some of them we never saw before. It is amazing to see so many of them. Lots of shadow in the zoo. Playground in the middle. Picnic tables available. We arrived at the opening and left just before the closure - plan the whole day there!! Started with walking through the zoo and finished off with the car safari - great idea as we were happy to sit down at that point!

Relaxed factory-turned-hotel offering a polished restaurant, a sleek bar & a terrace.
La Tabletterie. It is just the best hotel to stay in Meru. The building used to be an old factory and now is transformed into a beautiful hotel. It has a restaurant next to the reception and you can find an uncovered parking right at the door. Very good service.

This converted factory is an interesting building converted in a modern and sympathetic way. It is clean and comfortable with friendly staff. I appreciate the way they speak to you in in French and allow you to practise your French! The museum next door is definitely worth a visit and I'm sure we will go back to this hotel.

The Louis Vuitton Foundation art museum is an imposing structure composed of white blocks clad in fiber-reinforced concrete panels, which sits on a water garden built specifically for it. The museum offers an interesting cultural setting with added installations by artists such as Olafur Eliasson and Ellsworth Kelly. The architecture and the collection make this one of the most unique museums in Paris.
Such a positive the surprise visiting this place! The place so cool, the building itself it a piece of art, there is a small outside waterfall and amazing rooftop terrace’s view lovely views.
Absolutely worth a visit if you are in Paris!

Amazing museum!
Although it’s a bit far from city center, it definitely worth the visit!
First of all, the building itself is a great artwork! It’s really a lot of fun to walk around and explore where each aisle will lead you to. Also, it has a great view towards the La Défense area.
Second, the team puts great effort and thoughts in putting together the exhibition, including the story line, how the paintings should be presented, etc. I was amazed not only by the artworks, but also by how thoughtful the museum team is.
A wonderful museum experience!

Great place to spend a few hours in the company of great art. I visited for the Basquiat x Warhol exhibition and had a blast. The building is an example of monumental modern architecture. Not my taste but impressive nevertheless. The rainbow clad hall was an oasis of calmness and a perfect place to relax. Gets very crowded, so book your tickets wisely.

Stunning Frank Gehry building build in the beautiful neighbourhood park. The view from the top is stunning and so from outside. With their great art curator, the exhibitions are always stunning. Must visit place if you ever stay in Paris.

I saw the Mark Rothko retrospective and was amazed. I’m glad the Building dedicated 10+(?) galleries to the work. We went on a Friday morning and it seemed to get busier as we left.
Truly a once in a lifetime experience to see this physically, historically, and enigmatically massive collection of pieces. Certain paintings were grouped as they were shown elsewhere, for example, the set from the Tate in London, but the rooms lined with work from all over the globe was very nice.
Rothko himself never saw his work celebrated to this extent, he might have enjoyed it.
I’m sure I won’t be able to see his work gathered and shown like this again in my lifetime. The Foundation did a great job of giving the work the space it needed. Rooms varied in size and illumination, I enjoyed the contrast.
The show had more paintings than I expected and I was truly impressed with the presentation.
The building was perfect, allowing for gigantic and intimate spaces. I was surprised the price of admission was cheaper than I expected, worth the money, I have paid more for less impressive shows.
I wish I could see the show a second time. Highly recommend seeing this show.

Great museum of art, as well as building. We were here when there was exhibition of the Morozov collection, so we were fortunate to enjoy not only incredible architecture and views from top of building, but also a major international exhibition from the French and Russian modern art collection of the brothers Morozovs.

We visited during the Claude Monet / Joan Mitchell exhibit. How lucky. What a great exhibit in a gorgeous space. This Frank Geary building is a fantastic space and I would see it no matter the exhibit, but if you can see the Monet/Mitchell exhibit do so. It feels like the entire world's available Monet and Mitchell art is in this single Paris location right now. And fantastically laid out (incredible juxtaposition). Make sure you go up to the roof for some beautiful views of the city. Only hit against the museum is lack of bathroom facilities. Go before you go😉

Such a beautiful place with insightful exhibitions. The foundation always promotes new outlooks and perspectives on artists’ work, offering guided tours to delve even further in the motivations and meaning behind the pieces.
The Foundation itself is a beautiful building with a stunning view on the defense and on paris, a must see!!
I would advise to get your tickets in advance and be there on time- being early won’t allow you to enter the foundation before the time on your ticket but you will be first in the line!

Went to the Rothko exhibition there and what an amazing experience! The building is an architectural tour de force with good lighting, beautiful exhibition spaces and some nice terraces. Outside is a mesmerizing cascade which visitors will appreciate best when looking at it from the inside. There's a kid room where you can also relax on some bean bags. In that same room they were showing a very informative documentary about Rothko, which we saw after our tour from a balcony.

Interesting architecture, terraces, stairs, and skylines. The Rothko exhibition was interesting, too. The surrounding garden is beautiful. The security guards although could benefit from politeness training to align with the luxury and reputation of the building. The washrooms could get more frequent attention as well. Recommended 7/10.

Great and extensive Rothko exhibition from his early exploratory days all the way to his successful expressionist periods. The museum is not in the city center so you have to be intentional in coming here. But my friend lives in Neuilly so it was convenient. The suburb is also a delight to walk around. I was fascinated by the architectural development and story until it’s completion, a labyrinth of detailed internal structures integrated with nature outside.

Very modern building. After visiting the exposition, do not forget to take the elevator to the top. There are three levels of decks. Easy access.

High quality curated exhibitions in an amazing modern building.
The place per se it’s worth the visit, and then if you’re lucky the exhibition will be interesting too.
Tip: take the free tour inside the exhibit room, they give it every 15 min, so this is the best way to understand the art.

I was lucky to attend The Louis Vuitton “Time Capsule Exhibition” in 2019. Located in Milan, Italy. The exhibition featured a range of artifacts, documents, and other items that illustrated the brand's rich history and enduring appeal.
Visitors to the exhibition could expect to see a range of items, including vintage trunks and luggage, rare photographs and documents, and even some of the brand's most iconic fashion pieces. The exhibition was designed to take visitors on a journey through the brand's history, from its founding in 1854 to the present day.
One of the highlights of the exhibition was focus on the brand's commitment to craftsmanship and innovation. Visitors could see firsthand how the brand's designs have evolved over time, and how its commitment to quality and attention to detail has remained steadfast throughout its history.

One of my favorite buildings in the world. Stunning architecture, peaceful terraces overlooking Paris - and this time around we were fortunate to catch the Warhol-Basquiat exhibition, that brings together the fruit of the two artist’s’ collaboration.

What an incredible space. Very easy to find. Signposted directly from the Metro and less than an 10 minute walk to the Foundation.
Bought tickets at the ticket office and very easy to entry.
The usual X-Ray machines at the entrance as with almost every public building in Paris now.
The space is absolutely stunning and MASSIVE. Unfortunately ALL of the up escalators were out of order on the day we visited, though those running down were all functioning perfectly.
A completely inspiring and exhausting visit!!
Robin Rimbaud-Scanner — Google review
The building is beautiful, the collections and exhibitions (Rothko) fantastic. But you have to bear the crowds! It is always full, you rarely can enjoy a piece because it is impossible to stand in front of one. On top of it there are always guided groups being loud, so you get to hear their explanations even if you don’t appreciate the opinion of the guide in turn. Or the school teachers that put loud music so that the kids can dance in front of the paintings… If only one could choose like from 9 to 11 in the mornings for quiet time (NO tours) it would be so much better…

Really enjoyed the Rothko exhibition. The experience was rich and engaging. I really enjoyed the detailed description of his life and the phases of his work. (Also had fun spotting the piece on loan from home - very nice, Art Gallery of Ontario!) I would love to return to this remarkable building, which is worth a visit just for the stunning architecture.

I have been coming to Paris for many reasons for many years, but this was my first time here at this spectacular venue! the design is so sympathetic to its surrounding and view points, the art on display was fantastic and there is a cheap shuttle service, too. The Rothko exhibition is what I went for and it did not disappoint. Can't wait to go back! There is a free cloak room so please leave your bigs bags etc and walk around comfortably.

Interesting layout of galleries, loved the little roof terrace for a bit of respite. Nestled in a large park, my daughter and I spent lots of time after the museum in the park.
Best to buy tickets online and get there ahead of time so that you can be ahead in queue.

We went on a whim, it was a bit of a walk from the metro, and a huge lineup. But the online tickets were all sold out, so we decided to wait. Eventually we allowed in, and they got something like airport security there and you need to have your bags x-rayed. The building was impressive looking; other than the exterior shape, the vertical yellow lighted feature beside the water was also stunning on its own. Wish I had more time to check it out, but I spent my time checking out the Rothko exhibition. Alas, my ability to appreciate his artwork is on par with my skill at discerning top wine vintages.

Closed exhibits so only really the building to see. Frank Gehry in Paris. Must say the architecture was arbitrary typical Gehry, but the scaled glass details and constructionality were admirable including the 3d printing of the curvature roofs. Would have been so good to have some open exhibits so the website could have been more explicit. Still for 4euros a must visit and also accessible Is the wonderful park surrounds.

Breathtaking museum inside and out. Exhibitions are always build with quality in mind. It's such a pity in such a gorgeous and recent building that still there are line ups in the ladies restrooms. As well as universal accessibility. We're in 2023! Architects should really work with inclusivity in mind...

This is such a great space to view art. Just saw the Rothko exhibit here. It was fantastic. I wish I could have been there with fewer people, but it was still amazing. The time-slot program works well. Get your tickets ahead of time on-line, to streamline the entry. Plan to spend the day with the artists you love!
Heather Metz DeRosier — Google review
We went between expositions as that is when we were in Paris (also we had seen online that was the case before going). So, the focus was more on the architecture (there is an app to follow or they will give you a device with a headset, but you need an official photo id). Seeing how it was built, the materials used, the fact that the 3600 glass panels are all unique, etc was amazing.
The place is a marvel of both engineering and architecture well worth a visit despite not having a current exposition (note that tickets are also a lot cheaper at 4euro).
One thing that was different from the last time I was there 8 years ago is the absence of color on the glass, which was quite magical (it seems more drab, particularly on a cloudy day). You can see pictures below. Would be nice, imo, if they went back to the color.
But, as said, it's still a great place to visit in Paris.
Pl. du Trocadéro et du 11 Novembre is a spacious and elevated square that provides breathtaking panoramic views of the iconic Eiffel Tower, as well as beautiful gardens and museums.
The Arc de Triomphe is a landmark of Paris, built to commemorate Napoleon's victories. The arch is 164 feet high, and features an observation deck. It is one of the most popular monuments in Paris after the Eiffel Tower.
My most favorite view of Paris and definitely a highlight of the city!
I have visited many times in the past, but it never ceases to amaze me how grandiose this building is. During my last visit, I waited around 10 minutes to purchase the ticket and another 5 minutes to go through security - all reasonable times, however next time I would buy tickets online.
Once I walked up the twisting stairs (there is no elevator for the general public) I entered a lobby where toilets are located, and continued to the roof. I spent about half an hour at the roof deck, walking around and enjoying the view of the city. It was not really busy, people were just chilling, relaxing, and taking pictures. It was really lovely to watch the buzz down there by the roundabout and traffic at Champs-Elysees. As the sun was setting it created fabulous photo opportunities over the La Defense neighborhood. On the way down I passed by a quite large gift shop and watched a couple of videos in the lobby right under the roof deck.
I saved some time to walk around the Arc and enjoy the beauty of it. Definitely a place to return to when in Paris! Visited in May 2022.

Highly recommend a visit. Watch the stairs though. When we arrived in Paris I wasn't feeling very well but persisted with the climb. Thank goodness there is a rest point, seats, information displays over half way up with the viewing camera looking directly below. Once at the top, you are greeted with 360 views of the beautiful Paris laid out before you. Enjoy the distant views and the amazing feats of endurance, skill and nerve of the drivers circling around the roads below you. Such an amazing monument and totally worth the visit any time of day or night.

A must visit historical site in Paris in Eiffel Tower district. We walked through the underground tunnel to the ticket window, hardly waited 5 minutes in the line before we got ours. They check your bags and you walk through a scanner. Beware there are quite a few stairs to climb, approximately 284 steps to the first floor on a spiral staircase and then there are more steps to reach the other two floors including the terrace. There's also an elevator to the main floor. From the top one can see the beautiful city. There's a beautiful souvenir shop also where you'll find things, at good prices, stationary is beautiful and I did not find such pretty notebooks anywhere else. Washrooms on the same floor. Once down, there's the tomb of the unknown soldier. Overall great experience!

Beautiful monument to soldiers and a must see in Paris. Crazy roundabout that surrounds it so be careful, if crossing. Didn’t get a chance to go up to the top but it was amazing to see from the ground. We had fun trying to figure out the traffic pattern too.

I didn't get a chance to get inside but definitely enjoyed walking around it and admiring this architectural art. You can surely take enough photos with it although many people are visiting there every day every hour. Be careful not to pass the road by walking, that's dangerous and wrong. There are different underground passes that will do the work. One of the must visit places in Paris, and looks like it is better to visit it by climbing it up and also getting an astonishing view of Paris.

The Arch is definitely worth the visit once in Paris. There is so much to learn about its history and architecture. It is one of the most famous monuments in Paris, France, standing at the western end of the Champs-Élysées.
We visited the arch on a weekday. There was a very long line up and we had to wait for around 15 minutes though we had initially thought we could get easy access with the Paris museum pass.
Booking tickets in advance is highly recommended.

Famous street and monument. Great spot to take pictures and walk around. Remember that to get in front of the monument you need to walk under the street by taking the stairs down. This will take you directly in front of the monument. Some people are not aware of this and just run through traffic which you’re not supposed to do and is dangerous. Great place and picture spot.

Absolutely excellent and well worth a visit, it is especially worth paying for a visit to the top for a spectacular view with some very interesting facts along the way. Be warned there are over 200 steps to the top, however I believe there is an elevator installed for disabled access.

We also recommend buying tickets in advance as it makes the process much quicker and stress free.

The climb to the top was very physically demanding. But the view from the top is beautiful! We even saw a ceremony for the unknown soldier when we came back down. Amazing views of the city. Buy tickets ahead of time to skip the line. Be prepared to climb a lot of steps. I would suggest going about 30-45 minutes before sunset and get great pics of the city, and get a spot on the south side facing Eiffel. When the sun goes down the regular lights come on, and the next top of the hour the twinkling lights come on. So if sunset is 7:01 then the twinkle lights start at 8:00 so be prepared to wait if that’s the case. Can be cool and windy up top as well.
The Musée du quai Branly, designed by Jean Nouvel, is an interesting museum with a variety of exhibits from around the world. The building and exhibits are contemporary but combined with technology to create an immersive environment for visitors. The collection focuses mostly on traditional art but there is also a section on contemporary pieces.
Most atmospheric Museum in Paris! Wide and varied collection of native ( not primitive at all) Art. Savage and powerful insight into the art of the varied primordial cultures of the world. The positive and negative energies of the human condition are represented here in a condensed and intense exhibition.

We stopped in November to see the Black Indians and Kimono exhibits. Kinda wish the explanations were all translated to English and not only the curators notes. Many of the captions are only in French :(

I visited only the garden and it blew me away. It's like a little hidden piece of wilderness in an urban surrounding. At first you see the fence on the outside that looks almost like a part of the nature, a ditch with water and reeds and than you enter the garden up a little hill and the whole new world is opening up. Utmost beautiful setting with some light sticks that gave the space unrealistic, surreal feeling. You walk across curvy paths and there are hidden little oases everywhere.

Always a pleasure this museum is far from old concepts. The garden outside is marvelous and the temporary expositions are always made to think the visitor.
Jean Nouvel concept of the museum with organic corridors and a circular visit path are interesting. Maybe I would prefer having more light but i understand that's made for concentrating the attention on the exposition rather than the building itself.

A nice museum and a must see, to view artifacts from all over the world. I'm on the fence, especially with African art which should be returned to their rightful owners but these pieces are something to behold and appreciate. With that being said, the design of the museum needs a lot to be desired. It's poorly lit and the there is no structure or cohesion, compared to other museums such as the Louvre or the MET. Still worth a visit and the shop is nice too.

Situated close to eiffel tower, surrounded by a "tropical" garden, you don't see much of the building itself, once you go inside it's an island of quiet, with display of objects that were used with spiritual purpose(or just daily life, like music..)
Incredibly beautiful objet, in a luxury case. Items from all around the world, Asia, Africa, Oceania, North Pole, all amazing,.. The only "failing" being the glass cases have too much reflection (photo is difficult).
You'll spend more than a day there, with library, restaurant...

Very cool museum with tons and tons of native artifacts from all over the world. Outfits, weapons, masks, totems, statues, etc. If you're not interested in native peoples, don't come here because there is not any variety in the exhibits beyond worldly native peoples. Outside the museum there is a very nice forest/garden area with walking paths and seating as well, which is free to access.
Alex Johnston — Google review
The museum and garden are indeed delightful, boasting a beautiful collection of artifacts. However, during my visit, I noticed a few areas that could be improved to enhance the overall experience. Firstly, many signs in the museum are only written in French, which can be challenging for international visitors. Secondly, the audio-guide provided limited information, leaving me craving more insights into the exhibits. Additionally, while there are small screens available, the way the information is presented was not very clear. As a result, the interactivity felt lacking.
I had hoped that the museum would transport me back in time and offer a more immersive experience into different cultures, but I felt somewhat disconnected due to these issues. Despite that, I still believe the museum is worth a visit, especially considering the good price-quality value it offers.

What a beautiful visit! A lot of enchanting collections from all corners of the world. We went there on Friday afternoon and there was practically no queue. We bought the tickets onsite (12€ each) and found our way to the entrance. Outside was green, cool and full of trees. Inside was nicely ventilated and refreshing for visitors coming in from the hot streets. We were enchanted by the slope entrance way with projections called „the River“ which displayed on the walking surface in a form of meandering rives. These artificial rivers show numerous names (some 15,000) of people who from parts of the collections in the museum. That was our highlight not to mention many special items of fabrics, wood work, stone work, tribal objects to name a few. One can browse around slowly for at least an hour. We were searching for a painting of our Thai friend that was in display in a special exhibition here and were disappointed that it was (naturally) removed long time ago. However, we were lucky enough to have found a nearly last copy in the museum bookshop due to the excellent help of the shop assistant. Thank you so much. All in all we had an enchanting experience here and can recommend the museum wholeheartedly for a visit if you want to experience something different!

The museum's significance stems from two key aspects: its distinctive architectural design and its captivating content.
The architectural design seamlessly integrates the building into its surroundings, creating a unique landscape that imparts a sense of entering an environmental oasis in the heart of Paris.
As for the content, which is paramount, it resides in the wealth of artifacts representing the ancient civilizations of peoples from Asia, Oceania, Africa, and the Americas before the era of European colonialism.
The museum showcases finds that were previously unknown, offering visitors a glimpse into the richness and diversity of these cultures.
As a result, visitors are left feeling awestruck and humbled by the greatness and diversity of human civilization.

I love ethnic art and this place is my favourite museum in Paris. Fantastic architecture, set in lovely gardens, magnolias in flower this month, by the River Seine. There's a long ramp up to the galleries with a waterfall of words in light projected onto the floor. Since I last visited, lots of new exhibits are on show. While you are there, break your visit for lunch at Café Jacques, which has some great food at a reasonable price if you take le formule. Try to miss the school children visits if you can.
