OSEA Buses (Famagusta District Transport Organisation)
Bus company
Perfect bus system. Plus, customers service works good and always ready to help. I advise. Thank you for your work👍
??????? ??????? — Google review
Dear OSEA Bus Company,
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the incident that occurred during my bus journey on November 8, 2023. I am a tourist from Poland, traveling with my six-month-old child. I felt compelled to bring a rather concerning matter to your attention.
Upon boarding the bus, I encountered a distressing situation where the bus driver refused to allow us to bring our baby stroller onto the bus, despite the fact that the bus was only partially occupied at the time. The driver's behavior was unwarranted and unprofessional. It left me with no choice but to fold the stroller and hold my child in my arms throughout the journey, which I find to be a significant safety concern.
As a responsible transportation provider, it is essential that your company upholds the safety and well-being of its passengers. Forcing passengers to hold a small infant without any safety restraints is not only against common sense but also potentially illegal according to European regulations. I implore you to reconsider your policies and either prohibit the transportation of small children or update your guidelines to ensure their safety and compliance with the law.
It is worth noting that on the same day, when returning on bus number 101, we did not encounter any such issues. The driver there allowed us to use the rear doors for our convenience. This stark contrast in treatment raises questions about the consistency of your services and driver training.
I want to emphasize that I do not wish to create a scene or trouble your company; however, I believe that the safety of small children should not be compromised in any circumstance. They deserve special care and attention due to their vulnerability.
I urge you to address this matter seriously and take the necessary actions to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. The safety and comfort of passengers, particularly those with infants, should be a top priority for your company.
I expect a prompt response and a resolution to this issue.
Sincerely,
Piotr

Great bus service and very polite inspectors well done Cyprus

The wors bus company in the world. They do not accept babies in a carrier even though there is a designated space for them in the buses. Their respons was that their boss does not allow them. So you have 0 priority as a mother with a baby in the hot weather. And they can choose not to accept you if you don't close the stroller. Impolite very rude drivers. Wouldn't recommend this public transport to anyone. Better rent a car.
Natasha Spasenovska — Google review
Extremely rude driver on the 101 to Pernera at midday. Shouted and beeped at a family with small children who struggled to get off the bus with a pushchair.
Would not help another woman with a baby find out her destination.
The bus is for locals and tourists, drivers need to be respectful of both or hotels will stop recommending them.
joel greenfield — Google review
This opinion concern driver of bus PEM437 (01.09.23 timen 8.00 pm, bus number 101 to Famagusta)- really rude, shouldn't have worked with people. Firstly, he impolitely told us to clean our shoes, secondly he didn't wanted to take us, because we had only 50e in a cash (there is no possibility to pay by card) (he had a lot of 5e to change, but he didn't wanted to use it). He didn't care. Comparing to public transport in other countries - this leaves a lot to be desired. We do not recommend!

Worst transportation company i’ve ever seen.
1. Websites time schedules are wrong, on the website it says every half hour but on facebook it says every 20 minutes.
2. Was just waiting for a bus thinking he’s going to leave at 14:00 and he leaves at 13:40 and i asked before he drove away and replied in a very rude manner.
3. Busses don’t accept Revolut “International Bank” in a touristic country and couldn’t wait a minute to get money out of the ATM which wasn’t even 50 metres away.
4. There’s very few bus drivers that are actually nice but the rest are very rude.
I suggest you take note on all the one star reviews you have!!

Never accurate and some times bus drivers left before the arrival time or can't wait pass a minute ...

the drivers are a joke, they shout at people who came on holiday with children and may not know the area or customs prevailing here. congratulations.

Gilindire Cave

Subterranean cavern with stalagmites, stalactites & a reflective lake, accessed by boat or on foot.
Breathtaking views scenery both outside and inside must see. Entry fee as of today was 19TL definitely with it. I recommend once inside cave go all the way down first then slowly come back up enjoying cave views as straight up can be tiring. Great lake view at bottom.
Ayse Oz — Google review
These caves are a must visit if you are anywhere near. They are massive and truly one off earth natural wonders. There are so many large stalactites and stalactites and columns and there is lighting there to show them off. It's a long way down but there is a clear water lake at the very bottom. There is a man made metal stairs to the very bottom and it's 320 steps back up to the cave entrance. It's very warm in the caves. Big free car park, tarmac road to get there. There is a coffee restaurant and toilets and the ticket price is about 24 lira.
Richard Attoe — Google review
An amazing view opens up before your eyes - green trees, blue waters and high rocks. The colors are stunning, the height - impressive.
Going into the cave you feel a sudden heat wave, the lights are dim and the oxygen is low. There are quite many stairs, but it's worth it once you see the astonishing beauty of the cave structures. There is a crystal-like shining layer over the rocks.
At the bottom you see a crystal clear lake witb rocks reflecting from its calm waters.
It's the most beautiful cave I've ever see! ❤️🇹🇷🗻
Svetoslava Nacheva — Google review
This is the most beautiful cave I have seen so far. The entrance is located on the wall overlooking the sea and you have to go down the stairs in order to reach it. Once inside, the number and size of stalactites will take your breath away. You just have to go deeper and deeper, across open areas and small path until you reach the amazing lake that lies at the bottom of it. If you are driving around Southern Turkey, don't miss the opportunity to visit this cave! The entrance fee was less than 2€.
Alexandru Ioan — Google review
This cave is amazingly beautiful and the management has done a very good job of making it accessible. The entire length of the attraction, from the top of the hill to the bottom of the cave is paved with metal walkways with rails and great traction. Myself and many of the other guests were fat and out of shape but it is still easy to get to the bottom and back to the top again if you take a slow pace. It is very hot and very humid inside the cave so you will get very very sweaty. I recommend bringing a second shirt you can change into before leaving.
Nicholas Urman — Google review
A longer drive from Mersin than Heaven & Hell caves but so much better! If you go early you can enjoy the cave all to yourself (or almost). Definitely worth the trip!
CJ Johnson — Google review
Super cool seaside cave 🌊🦇🤩
This cave is pretty remarkable because it's a stones throw away from the Mediterranean Sea but as you go down it's winding corridors you actually stumble onto a small underground freshwater lake that's crystal clear turquoise blue 💙🔵💙
I honestly don't think I have seen a cave quite like this one as far as sheer size of the chambers of the cave as well as the actual size of the structures inside of the cave goes 🤯
Going down the rusty staircase of death which brings you from the cliffside down by the ocean into the mouth of the cave You get some pretty great views of the coastline and a phenomenal little sunset viewpoint 👌👌👌
I really enjoyed climbing around this big bad girl and the giant lagoon in the bottom of this cavern was the icing on the cake 💝🌠😍
Nate Allen — Google review
Beautiful limestone formations though with lots of stairs - 568 steps going in and then you start back. That does not count the ramp leading to the stairs. The fee was very reasonable. The blue pool at the bottom is beautiful and clear!

Located atop the Besparmak mountain range at 732m above sea level, St. Hilarion Castle is an impressive sight to behold. The castle boasts intricate stonework and crumbling towers that blend seamlessly into the rocky landscape. Divided into three main parts - the lower and upper enceintes, as well as Prince Johns Tower - visitors can explore hidden rooms and tunnels connected by steep staircases.
Phenomenal view from the peak, fun hike!
Surely worth the visit 🤩
Entrance fee was 15 TL
Luke Speas — Google review
Lovely castle tarnished by nonchalant attitude of visitors towards littering. The last cleanup effort took place in 2018 and a similar cleanup is sorely needed. Apparently masks are now the go to for making wishes at the peak 😂. Entry was 15 TL per adult. The opening and closing times are not to be trusted as they frequently close earlier. We went early already knowing this so beware. They usually close beginning around 2:30 pm. Unfortunately a fire took place some time ago and some portion of the castle that was once a cafe has burnt down. Restoration efforts seem to be slow. Mannequins and info panels in several rooms seem to be removed for renovations I assume. A paid toilet is available outside the entrance.
Mustafa Canatan — Google review
Beautiful ruins of what once was a castle. The view is amazing. It is a tough long hike if you want to reach the peak. Reserve around 1.5 hours for this visit. Steady walking/climbing shoes are a must, the old stairs are slippery. Entrance is 2 euros per person. The road towards the castle is tight so be careful when driving. There is a toilet downstairs (0.50 eurocents).
Mirthe v.d Duijn Schouten — Google review
Interesting castle, very well preserved with fantastic views of the Besparmak mountain range and Kyrenia. The castle has three floors, allow at least an hour to explore the whole site.
Note that some of the steps around the site are steep and will be slippery when wet.
Antony Barton — Google review
Great spot to get some outstanding views. It is a little bit difficult to climb if your are very much out of shape but doable. We saw families with children climbing to the top and older people as well. There are good stair steps going up to the top. In 2022 we paid 15 Turkish Liras per person which is less than 1 Euro.
Natalia Piecha — Google review
Wear good, sturdy footwear as its rocky and steep. Be prepared for a bit of a climb. The views are well worth it! There's a little cafe at the parking spaces.
Lynn Elkington — Google review
Spectacular mountain stronghold mostly dating from the Lusignan period. Originally built as a watch-tower during the era of Arab raids (7 - 10 C), there is still a Byzantine church from this period, which has been partly reconstructed.
The ruins are spread over several peaks of the ridge, be aware that the paths are quite difficult and the stones are slippery so only recommended for those who are confident with a bit of rough clambering. Views are excellent. Highly recommended for those with an interest in the island's history.
Frank Pennycook — Google review
It is unfair that you don’t update working time on google. As you can see in picture last entrance should be 16.30 but we came at 15.30 and it was already closed. 2 stars instead of 1 only because we still could enjoy the nature around.
Rokas M. — Google review
Treat this more of a hike. Very nice viewpoints, the trail is paved with protruding stones and steep in many points. Do not visit with elderly or very young ones. Great for pictures
Dave Pulis — Google review
Nice place, you can see the whole coast. Watch out not to slip, steps are steep and slippery
Tony Curr? — Google review
One of the best castles I have ever visited. It's like scenery from lord of the rings, amazing picturesque views all around and the castle has kept in very good condition. If you are visiting in the summer months, take a change of clothes as you will definitely be sweating and need a shower afterwards. Food and water are essential.
Callum McIntyre-Loughlin — Google review
Very impressive castle definitely worth visiting. Best come before mid-day to avoid too many visitors. Takes around 1.5 hours in order to explore all the different levels and rooms.
Peter Frey — Google review
Amazing place with amazing views! Make sure to arrive early, as they close around 3 coz of the army camp nearby.and bring cash liras , as they don't accept cards or euros to pay for the tickets. There is also a small cafe with the views to have tea
Natalia Zakharova — Google review
We all absolutely LOVED this castle visit. It's a great place to take kids as they will really enjoy climbing up and exploring all the different parts of the castle. The top takes a while to reach but it doesn't feel arduous as there are lots of different 'levels' or parts and if you do at each one - they are all worth stopping at in my opinion - then you will break up the climb. We spent about two hours in total exploring and taking a million photos. There's a bathroom at the entrance and a cafe - beware it only takes cash. Keep an eye on small children as there are some parts that are without barriers etc. We arrived at 10am and the heat was bearable but I'd recommend avoiding the midday sun there, by the time we were leaving it was very hot.
Emma Ahmed — Google review
Many steps, and a quite steep and dengerous, need good to be fit or really mitivated to get to the top of the caste. Wouldnt recomment to people with walking issues or who dont like climbing
Margarita Liasidou — Google review
Fantastic castle, amazing views, loads to explore and an absolute bargain; but bring your walking shoes! The castle is spread out over a large area on different parts of the peaks. Great to explore, especially with kids, and lots to see. Note though that there are lots of steep steps if you are going to explore it properly and there are some big drops at various points. Definitely worth the drive up there.

really beautiful place and very nice view. I recommend visiting
Diana Matkova — Google review
Free to the public to enter on Sundays, needs better up keep considering what it is, the public seem to treat it like an open dustbin & many pathways obstructed by vegetation or crumbling away. Wear descent footwear & prepare yourself for the climb. Views of the coast & surrounding mountain range are wonderful.
Kyrenia Harbour is the most popular spot in the town for tourists. It's a crescent-shaped port with narrow streets and charming old wooden ships and yachts in its harbour. There are also cafes and restaurants on the waterfront, and a beautiful promenade that leads down to the harbour.
This might be the prettiest place in all of Cyprus.
A place where you expect Jack Sparrow to walk by ...
Castle is impressive.
Fresh fish in the harbor was very good.
I will be back for sure.

Beautiful harbour, lots of cafe, bars, restaurant s, open air and indoors. Very reasonable prices, and I have always found to be good food. Effes is the local beer and is tasty and refreshing. Most places have free wifi. Decent choice of boat trips for a special day out. Inflation has taken a bite out of the cheapness, a little more expensive since 2022, but still a great place to chill.

Pros: The experience of walking around the port is very enjoyable and pleasant. There're many boats, yachts with distinctive designs. Many quality seafood restaurants are available. There're many bazaars to buy souvenirs. Overall rating fir the experience is 09/10.
Cons: There's nothing can complain about it.

Kyrenia harbour is a lovely place to visit. Lots of hotels around to stay in. Lots of ships to choose from to take you around the harbour. The crewmen normally allow 40 people on a ship for 50tl each, which is much cheaper to do. There's also a castle there to explore, which takes 20tl for students and 50tl each for tourists. There are lots of things to do here, you can never get tired of this place.

kyrenia Harbour is a hidden gem that shouldn't be missed. The moment you step foot in this picturesque harbor, you'll be captivated by its timeless beauty. The charming cobblestone streets, colorful fishing boats, and stunning backdrop of the Kyrenia Mountains create a truly magical atmosphere.
The harbor is lined with a plethora of delightful restaurants, cafes, and shops. Whether you're craving fresh seafood, local delicacies, or international cuisine, there is something to satisfy every palate. Enjoy a leisurely meal while basking in the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea.
One of the highlights of Girne Harbor is the majestic Kyrenia Castle, which stands proudly at one end of the harbor. This ancient fortress offers a glimpse into the rich history of the region and provides panoramic views of the surrounding area. Exploring the castle's halls, towers, and dungeons is like stepping back in time.
Strolling along the harbor's promenade is a delightful experience. You can watch the sunset paint the sky with warm hues, listen to the soothing sounds of the waves, and browse through the various souvenir shops. You'll also find boat trips available, allowing you to venture out to sea and see the coastline from a different perspect

So much to do and see in this little paradise on the Mediterranean Sea.
We visited during the early evening hours as everybody was out and about, enjoying dinner by the water. The boats are quite impressive and the sunset views are even more stunning.
This is a changeup from Cyprus obviously. Being under Turkish rule creates a different cultural flavor which is fascinating to observe, being a short car ride from the border.

Crowded, but historic and unique. I would not recommend sitting at the restaurants. Bring your food and drinks instead and you will have a good time.
Kyrenia Castle is a large and imposing fortress on the seafront in Kyrenia, Cyprus. It also has a shipwreck museum inside, which contains exhibits about Cyprus' maritime history. The view from the top of the castle is incredible, and it is one of the best values in Cyprus for tourists.

This is a great historical attraction however it is very unsafe! Many of the displays have been removed and are empty spaces. The railing is missing in many parts of the wall and there are some walking areas that seem quite flimsy, such as soldered metal grates and parts that have been roofed over. A little investment and pride in this castle would make a big difference.

Girne Castle, also known as Kyrenia Castle, presents itself as a fairly typical castle structure, albeit with a notable feature: its size. While it may not boast the grandiosity of some renowned European castles, Girne Castle compensates with its expansive layout, making it larger than the average fortress of its kind. Additionally, the castle's walls are noticeably thicker, hinting at a robust defense system that would have been crucial during its heyday. Despite lacking the ornate embellishments of more famous castles, Girne Castle's imposing presence and sturdy construction serve as a testament to its historical significance and strategic importance in safeguarding the region. Visitors can explore its ramparts, towers, and inner chambers, gaining insights into the castle's role in the turbulent history of Cyprus. Overall, while Girne Castle may not stand out dramatically in the realm of castle architecture, its sheer size and formidable walls contribute to its allure and make it a worthwhile stop for history enthusiasts and curious travelers alike.

Very nice castle and definitely worth visiting! It has many things to enjoy - the sea, the view, the museum, the architecture, and the history of course. You can walk around the castle once first then enter it. Entrance fee is not too expensive, especially when you paying in Lira instead of Euro. Not very crowded during weekdays. Oh be careful during windy/rainy days though, as it could be kinda dangerous to walk on the top of the castle during such weather. Overall can recommend!

Girne Castle, also known as Kyrenia Castle, stands as a majestic symbol of Cyprus's rich history and heritage, drawing travelers to its ancient walls and storied past. Perched on the shores of the sparkling Mediterranean Sea in the charming town of Girne (Kyrenia), the castle offers visitors a captivating journey through centuries of tumultuous history. Its strategic location and well-preserved architecture provide a fascinating glimpse into Cyprus's Byzantine, Venetian, and Ottoman periods, making it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts. Inside the castle, travelers can explore its labyrinthine corridors, climb its ancient towers, and admire breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. However, some travelers may find the entrance fees to be relatively high compared to other attractions in the area, which could be a consideration for budget-conscious visitors. Additionally, the castle's popularity among tourists can lead to overcrowding during peak seasons, detracting from the overall experience for some travelers. Despite these potential drawbacks, Girne Castle remains a captivating testament to Cyprus's enduring legacy and a highlight of any visit to the beautiful island.

Staying at the Acapulco Hotel nearby we took the opportunity to explore nearby. There is parking very close to the castle for a small fee (€1 per hour) and the castle is walkable. The castle is cheap to enter and very well kept. The displays and signage are informative and the access to the roof affords excellent views out to sea and the rest of the town. Well worth the visit.
Ryan Whitlock — Google review
The Castle is a captivating historical site that has witnessed centuries of history. Originally built by the Romans in the 7th century BC, the castle has undergone numerous transformations over the years.
During the Ottoman rule in the 16th century, the castle underwent significant changes, although many of these alterations were later reversed by the British during their rule. Despite these changes, the castle's structure today largely reflects its Venetian-era design.
Visitors to the castle can explore its fortified walls, dungeons, and towers, experiencing firsthand the architectural legacy of the Ottoman Empire in Cyprus. The castle's strategic location overlooking the port of Kyrenia served as a military stronghold and later as a prison during the British colonial period.
One of the highlights of the castle is the Shipwreck Museum, which displays the remains of a Greek merchant ship from the 4th century BC. This well-preserved shipwreck provides valuable insight into ancient maritime trade.
Despite its historical significance, the castle's preservation and organization leave room for improvement, as it is not very well maintained. Additionally, there is a lack of tourist information support to explain the site's rich history. Nonetheless, the Castle stands today as a testament to Cyprus's heritage, showcasing its rich and diverse history of the island.

7th century Byzantine castle, built to fend off Arabs, never taken but surrendered to the Ottomans in 1570, expanded in the Lusignan era, and taken present form under Venetians in the 16th century. British used it as a prison/police academy. Museum, featuring a wrecked 4th century Greek merchant ship, is included in the ticket. Impressive structure, with great views of Girne/Kyrenia and especially of limani/old port, and a little garden café at its centre.

Impressive fortifications though in need of a tidy up and some sympathetic restoration. The only leaflet available was in German, maybe we were a bit early in the season. This made identify the use of some areas difficult. Well worth a visit, plus there are small presentations about an ancient boat recovered just of the harbour including the Hull structure, very interesting.

Beautiful and picturesque! A few nice little spots to eat and drink too! A must see part of North Cyprus if you ever find yourself in the area!
Located in Kyrenia, Bellapais Abbey is a 13th century Gothic monastery with panoramic views. It's home to a museum, restaurant and cafe. The concerts held here during the summer are sublime and the ruins are a beautiful sight.
Positioned between mountains and the sea this place has the right name. Cypress and orange trees in Gothic ambiance. Really eye-catching.

I took a taxi from Kyrenia/Girne as no public transport goes to the monastery. The taxi driver wanted a ludicrously-cheap 40 TL for a 6km drive uphill, so I gave him 50TL. I later walked back as downhill was no problem!
Entrance is 15 TL, which includes a little guide sheet which I found invaluable. I was the only one there. The monastery is very well preserved and there are marvellous views from the mountains.

A very beautiful space to visit. We visited this place during the day and it was a mistake as the temperature was +40 degrees. I advise you to visit the abbey in the late afternoon.
The entrance cost 50 lira for 1 person, but no one checked the tickets.

Bellapais Abbey, a 13th-century monastery in Turkish-controlled Northern Cyprus, was constructed by Canons Regular and overlooks Kyrenia and the Mediterranean sea. Initially named Episcopia, it may have served as a residence for the Bishop of Kyrenia. Occupied by Canons Regular of the Holy Sepulchre, it later faced neglect under the Greek Orthodox Church after the Ottoman conquest in 1571. During British control (1878-1960), the army used it, resulting in bullet holes in the refectory. Now a museum, the abbey hosts a restaurant, cafe, and cultural events, making it a historical and cultural destination.

Beautiful village of Bellapais where this monastery is located. Tickets are 50 Turkish lira, there is a discount for students.
No queues, easy to get in, not many people (we visited on Sunday in November). Beautiful and well preserved remains of the monastery, surrounded by hills.
Highly recommend to visit. Also there are at least 3 cafes/restaurants nearby and they are reasonably priced.

This a beautiful shopping center with lots of cafes and an amusement park. The yachts and shops give the impression of luxury, but the prices are affordable. I like the vibe of the place. Unfortunately, there was garbage (plastics) floating in the water, and I can't understand why people ignore the garbage problem. I'm not happy with the littering problem here in Mersin, but I won't just complain. I will do my part to clean up this beautiful town and educate others about keeping the environment beautiful.

Machairas Monastery, established in the 12th century, is located in a remote mountainous area and boasts picturesque panoramic views. The journey to reach this destination is breathtaking, with beautiful hills and interesting points of interest along the way. Visitors are encouraged not to miss this rare opportunity, as it offers an unforgettable experience during winter with light snow on the slopes. This peaceful location features a main room adorned with paintings and ornaments that are highly enjoyable to visit.
This is the most amazing monastery in Cyprus. Full of spirit and peace. Favorite place just to come and find the harmony. On my opinion it is most holy place in Cyprus. Subjective opinion, but love to come again and again. Beautiful views on the whole way in and out. Come and see, you will agree with me

It was a lovely 1 hour drive from Nicosia. The drive through the winding, twisty road through the Machairas Mountains was breath taking. Its Spring time & all the terraced fields were shades of green. The almond trees were starting to burst in to flower. The air was crisp & fresh. We arrived at the Monastery just before the start of Orthodox Lent. The monks were preparing the Church and grounds. You can feel the sacredness of this place. Full of peace, calm, beauty & sanctity.

Don't rush through the shop. Take some time, study the various books of your preferred language. People are not in a hurry at the monastery :).
The shop also carries rare herbal teas, all kinds of olive oil products, and of course icons and other devotionals.

It was raining heavily during our visit and although the church and shop were open there didn’t seem to be a lot to see. The church was very nice but a little more light would have been welcome as I think it relies on mostly natural daylight that was in short supply in the rain. Note it is closed on Wednesdays.
The Varda Viaduct is an impressive architectural marvel characterized by its soaring structure and dramatic arches. It gained popularity after its appearance in the James Bond movie "Skyfall". Though worth a visit, drivers should be aware that there is only one passage through the tunnel, which is a one-way road. Visitors are advised to come early in the morning when it's less busy as photo taking spots can be dangerous.

Safety warning. You need to drive carefully to this place, the road is narrow, after driving for an hour in a narrow road you will be reaching a cafe where you can rest and enjoy the view of the bridge. Only sandwiches and drinks, no kebap lol. We left the area and had our nice grilled sucuk at ( Tekir Zirve Restaurant), located on the top of the mountain where the view is also amazing.

While there, one must try the sweets of the car salesman. He cooks at the premise, the sweets are always fresh and very cheap ( three pieces/$)
Tarsus Waterfall, located in Mersin, Turkey, is a popular tourist spot known for its stunning natural beauty. The waterfall was formed when the Berdan Stream changed its course in the 5th century, creating an impressive cascade that attracts visitors with its enthusiastic appearance, especially in spring. Surrounded by dense forests and lush vegetation, the waterfall offers public viewing platforms and restaurant options where visitors can enjoy a bite amidst the fragrant jasmines and tranquil waters.
Tarsus is a great place to visit, and the waterfall's are great, but could do with a tidy up!

We visited here as part of our trip to Tarsus and really enjoyed it. Access is through a restaurant, although we did not stop to eat. Entrance is completely free as is the large car park.
The waterfall is wide and beautiful, but the part we liked the most was the friendly atmosphere from the locals.
There are picnic tables set up around the viewing site and they were packed with local people coming here to have a picnic breakfast, and were also singing and dancing, in fact they invited us to share their breakfast and dance with them.
There is a duck pond outside with a waterfall which also connects to the main falls. We'll worth going and bring a picnic!

Fascinating ancient site, very well maintained and lots of information boards. The idea of having a reconstruction on site is, I think, brilliant. It gives a real sense of how those people lived so long ago.
Just beware, it is quite a climb from the car park level to the excavation site, but well worth it. Thankfully there is a 'rest area' part way up, a stone bench in the shade of an old tree, very welcome.
Chris Hughes — Google review
This place it was on my wishlist for years and today I decided to make the trip there and I'm wasn't at all disappointed. The site it has the original hut houses on the top of the hill and a small site at the bottom of the hill with reconstructed for visitors to see how were originally and how people lived back 100.000 years ago. The Neolithic village is a UNESCO site and after walking around it I could see why. I have taken the route up to the hill and I could see clearly the settlement how it was years ago, but there are also a lot of details to read so you get to understand the findings.
I have walked the whole route and walking through the nature path could see where the Maroni river was passing and why it was important to build the village there in the first place. Also walking the nature path you get to see all the beauty of Spring with wild flowers everywhere.
Most of the finds from the settlement are in the Larnaca Archaeological museum which I have visited a few hours before I made my way to Choirokitia which by combining the 2 together I could visually see how they lived and survived by. The entrance fee is 2.50 euros which it wasn't bad for spending nearly two hours walking on the site. There are toilet facilities which there were clean but not a cafe. The site is open from 8.30 to 17.00 in the Winter months and from 8.30 to 19.00 in the Summer. There is not wheelchair access to the site, but they can just visit the reconstructed huts. Also the Department of Antiquities can issue special entry cards for 1, 3 or 7 days at a reduced price and also a pensioners special entry card. For more information you can visit www.mcw.gov.cy/da

It is an amazing lake full of salt. It is just amazing. The smell of waters is wonderful I recommend it. The nature is everywhere. The water is full of microorganisms and shrimps. But do not fool your self and think that those shrimps will be tasty on a grill. If you eat them you will turn pink just like the flamingos that roam the area. You can find flamingos when it starts to rain in Cyprus and the lake becomes full, which depends on the planes that spray our clouds every now and then. The best part is mosquitoes. 10 minutes near Larnaca you will be reminded of the existence of this salt lake as thousands near to millions of mosquitoes will drink every last drop of your blood while leaving you with an unbearable need to scratch the skin off your flesh. Otherwise 5/5 for the nice views

The Church of Saint Lazarus is an amazing example of Byzantine architecture and contains some beautiful Orthodox icon artistry. It is also important historically, dating from the 9th century AD.
I recently had the opportunity to visit the ancient Church of St. Lazarus, and it was truly a breathtaking experience. Located in the heart of the city, the church is steeped in rich history and legend, as it is said to be the final resting place of St. Lazarus himself.
As I walked through the doors, I was immediately struck by the beauty of the stone architecture. The church is a testament to the skill and artistry of the builders of yesteryear, and the attention to detail is truly impressive. The interior of the church is equally stunning, with ornate frescoes covering the walls and beautiful stained glass windows casting a warm glow on the altar.
One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to see the tomb of St. Lazarus, which is said to be the final resting place of the saint himself. The tomb is surrounded by beautiful marble statues and intricate carvings, and it is truly a sight to behold.
Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the Church of St. Lazarus to anyone interested in history or architecture. It is a truly beautiful and sacred place, and a true gem in the heart of the city.

They had a QR code (story telling statue) for a link to some audio history of the site, which we thought was excellent.

St. Lazarus Church was a calm and nice place to visit. Inside, it looked beautiful, and you could go down to see the tomb. It didn't cost anything to get in. Just remember to wear appropriate clothes. Around the church, there are lots of cool shops and cafes.

Totally worth the visit, great atmosphere and totally for free, you have capes outside if you are wearing a short, its very small and cozy and won’t take time, must visit for the great architectural experience and the flamboyant design inside

The Church of Saint Lazarus is a late-9th century church in Larnaca, Cyprus. It belongs to the Church of Cyprus, an autocephalous Greek Orthodox Church.
The Church of Saint Lazarus is named for New Testament figure Lazarus of Bethany, the subject of a miracle recounted in the Gospel of John, in which Jesus raises him from the dead. According to Eastern Orthodox tradition, sometime after the Resurrection of Jesus, Lazarus was forced to flee Judea because of rumoured plots on his life and came to Cyprus. There, he was appointed by Paul the Apostle and Barnabas as the first Bishop of Kition (now Larnaca). He is said to have lived for thirty more years and on his death was buried there for the second and last time. The Church of Agios Lazaros was built over the reputed second tomb of Lazarus.

We very much enjoyed sacred atmosphere of ancient Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Lazarus. Greek cues of architecture and incredibly rich inner environment of the church including fabulous iconostasis, and ancient relicts of Saint Lazarus made this experience one of the highlights of our trip to Larnaca.
The Finikoudes beach is a popular tourist destination in Larnaca, Cyprus. The beach has clean water status and is lined with palm trees. There are promenades near the beach that offer views of the harbor. The town of Larnaca is close by, with many conveniences available such as restaurants and shops.
Beautiful sandy beach, with a lot of palm trees and different things to see. At summertime is a place full of people enjoying the sun and the beach and during winter time a lot of people walking around, doing roller skates, skateboard etc. Christmas period is one of the best there because you will get to see the biggest Christmas tree in the island.
It is a great place to take your dog for a walk, to see and meet other people. I love this beach side because it offers you the opportunity to walk, have fun, eat, get a coffee or a drink and also take incredible photographs. It is a must see/ walk in the city of Larnaca, because it will lead you to the Medieval Castle of Larnaca and to Saint Lazarus Church which you definitely need to see during your stay in Larnaca.
I post some photos I took from Finikoudes beach this year.

Beach is clean, if you want to swim, you have to walk into deeper water I guess 100 meters. Good for children. To rent beach stuff 7.5 eur/day.

A lovely beach with a promenade all the way along the front.
There are also bars restaurants and cafes all the way as well.
The road runs parallel to the one behind with the shops in it.
On the beach you have sunbeds and palm trees.
The sunbeds cost €2.50 euros to hire.
The water is very shallow here, so great for those who just like to wade into the water.
The beach is very clean.
The harbour is to the left of the beach.
The beach faces east, so it's a perfect place to watch the sunrise from.
A very popular beach for a good reason.

Nice and cute area near the Castle of Larnaca. There is a pierce here: very short and funny. There is an old anchor that is used currently as a memorial for the Mariupol victims of Russian war in Ukraine.any people, beggars, turists.

You have a lots of places where you can buy somethibg to eat and drink. Plus, across the street you will find a number of different restaurants. Main bus station just in front of the beach. Finikoudes beach is a nice and quiet beach. The sand is firm and good for walking and jogging without many pebbles. You can see the whole of Larnaca bay and the medieval castle from there. And so you have access to all the restaurants of different cuisine on Finikoudes Promenade.
The water is clear and refreshing.

Nice beach that’s fairly clean and shallow. You probably can go out 200 meters and can still stand. It was nice to swim. Warm water and close to the pier. The beach sun beds were free of cost in the evening around 7-8 pm. Probably payable in the morning.

Great experience walking along the promenade, with the beach and crystal clear sea on the one side and a row of shops, bars and restaurants on the other. I'll never travel to Beirut without this trip planner again
A 1700s complex with a museum of icons, archaeological finds & the tomb of Cyprus’s patron saint.
It is so a peaceful church. Loved visiting here and highly recommend staying on the bench and having a silent time.
There is also a little museum of each era.

Again, this was one of the many stops on our one-day sightseeing tour from Larnaca. This place is interesting. I don't know how much the entrance fee is as we had entry as part of a sightseeing day where we visited more places in Cyprus, but it was a nice and pleasant stop.

Die Saint Barnabas Monastery is one of the most impressive monuments I have ever seen. There i saw in a museum facilities from the Bronze Age. Near by the monastery Barnabas an old disciple of Paul is buried after he become a martyr for the young community of Christians in Cyprus and Antiochia. The entry for the Monastery include visiting of the monastery was 15 TL = 2 € for students.

The place is interesting but the upkeep is a disaster, the way they changed a church into something ridiculous and monks' cells into 'a museum' only shows the detachment of locals from Christianity altogether. It is only used for extracting money from the tourists. Not even mentioning the locals trying to sell products that are definitely not local or made by them. It is really a shame...

It was very old church ⛪ ancient one so the atmosphere inside of it is amazing holding a story in the past ⏳ it's a museum now with abt 5 rooms and main church hall .. interance cost 15TL for adults and 7TL for students and the shop and small cafeteria prices are paid with EURU ..the only problem is that you can reach the place either with a Taxi and it can cost abt 250-350TL from Lefokşe to it or by your own car cuz using a bus will make you walk a very long distance 🌏

The monasrary us nice, but not a real highlight. But we recommand the organized trip. Much better, than to check for yourself. Most of the rent-a-cars does nit gave insurance for the türkish sektor. The monastary is pituresque and there are some wallpaintings and icons in there. The grave of the saint is nearby.

A really interesting place for a small fee of 50l to see Saint Barnabas tomb area, the church and museum of archaeological artefacts. Their is car parking, cafe and toilets. The chapel built over where his remains were found is quite petite and you can walk down to his resting place before he was moved. The church has plenty of colourful artwork and mural depicting how his tomb was found. The museum had many interesting and unusual artefacts and information. A nice peaceful place that was not too busy.

Amazing little church with such a story to tell. In addition to the church, there is a museum of artifacts found in the surrounding area . There is a charming little refreshment place that offered fresh squeezed juice, water and ice cream. Also , a separate tomb that houses the body of St Barnabas. Outside was a small market ( 3 tables) that were selling locally made souvenirs. Very much worth a visit.
The Sabanci Merkez Mosque in Adana is a grand structure that was opened in 1998. It boasts an Ottoman-style interior and is covered entirely in luxurious marble and gold leaf. If you are coming to the Mosque after seeing Taş köprü there is shortcut, an underground passage to the mosque but the passage stinks with urine and filth. You can make a bigger loop and pass through a traffic lights which are a bit far. But if you go through the underground passage the smell is terrible. Looks like an abandoned place. If you can bear the smell you can pass through it fast and reach the beautiful mosque that is worth visiting. I think municipal authorities should pay attention to this.

The Stone Bridge was constructed around 200 A.D. and spans the Seyhan River. It remained open to traffic until 2007 and is still standing today. The bridge exhibits a simplistic yet stunning design, in contrast to modern bridges. On the opposite side of the bridge lies the old town and Ataturk museum, which are worth exploring. There are also several charming cafes and ice cream shops nearby, as well as street vendors selling various items like prayer beads and underwear.
Lovely little cafes and ice cream places about. Couple of buskers added to the atmosphere.Lots of trees so could enjoy the morning sitting in the shade with a cup of tea!

A beautiful, well-preserved bridge. You can stroll to the other end and back, just as people have done for many hundreds of years. A view of the huge mosque to the north makes for a nice view. There's not too much to do at the bridge, so I'd recommend next heading towards that mosque through the riverside park on the west bank there, as the nice part of town is in that direction. Though beware of aggressive beggars and peddlers at the mosque.

WaterWorld is a massive water park that is themed around ancient Greek mythology. It's perfect for families with kids of all ages, and there are plenty of thrilling rides to keep everyone entertained.
Great water park with an array of slides for all thrill seekers. About a dozen slides and there was plenty of sun beds. Visited the park in Mid-May, so very quiet with next to no waiting for slides...awesome!
Recommended if visiting this part of Cyprus.

A must-do! Full day of fun for all ages. Very nice park just to walk around (lots of flowers, bush monkeys in trees, palm trees everywhere etc.). Tried all slides, the one the looks scariest from outside (red one, from Thunderbold & Lightning) is not that hard when you try it; is a straight drop but short. Heracles seemed the hardest. Drop to Atlantis was the most intense. Nice!!

We were a family of 4, kids 7 and 11 years old. The park is good size with many rides, the kids were in paradise! We had 2nd day free tickets so was able to enjoy another day at the park which was a bonus!! Highly recommend this park! Great staff and entertainment. It was great to be a kid again!

Overpriced but very enjoyable. The pantheon theme added some flavour to the overall experience. Plenty of fun slides and the food is very good and decently priced. Had the park been in a premium state then the 35 euro entry price would've been justified. Unfortunately it could do with a paint job and some thorough cleaning. But if you can look past that then it's worth a visit.

Nice, big waterpark with lots of slides and other attractions. Wave pool a few times a day (once an hour), good food around, nice drinks and cocktails . €40 for large sun-bed(bottle of cold water included ) , €10 for towel renting and €10 for locked box . One soft drink included in one ticket.
Nice and friendly staff .
Nice place for kids and adults.

Overall good to go .

Really fun time at the Water Park. Hardly any queuing for the rides, and if you did it wasn't very long. Food and drinks were as expected a little bit more expensive but nothing we didn't anticipate. I would really recommend booking a Cabana in advance to avoid disappointment.

Very nice and clean waterpark. The staff were super sweet and the rides were a lot of fun. The park is a decent size and has a lot of different rides both for riding alone or up to 3 people. Great fun! Really nice waterpark with a good mix of slides for young children and faster rides for the bigger 'kids'. Good selection of places to eat too and really nice staff. The water was pretty cold at the end of the season but not enough to spoil it if the sun is out. Would definitely recommend and return if back in the area.

Really really really worth the ticket price. I went with my parents and my 9yr old son on a Monday. We avoided the Sunday pool party because of the rowdy yung'ans. Buy tickets online in advance, show the confirmation number to the front counter, they will issue your tickets and then you can enter. Lockers are small, enough for a 7/8L ruck sack. Good food options inside but we took our crisps and sandwich's. Best to go early and make a day out of it, gets busy very quickly. Each ride has at least 2 life guards attending, its clear they take safety VERY seriously. Only 4 stars because the taller rides have a pidgeon problem, bird poo everywhere as you climb the steps, on the handrails!. That could turn into a health hazard. Apart from that, great day, would go again.

We were so well looked after in the Thea VIP suite. Everything was catered for. The hot tub was such a nice touch. The wine and fruit platter was exceptional. A fully stocked fridge, lovely bathroom products and a full view of the parked topped the experience off nicely for the adults but for the kids those VIP skip the queue wristbands will be the highlight of this trip for years to come

The water park is a nice choice to visit if you are visiting Cyprus and seeking for some watery adventure.
It provides rides with adults and children as well. Some of the rides can be used only with the park's swim rings. In the middle of the park you can find a big waving pool. Unfortunately, when we visited the park, it was operating only for 2 or 3 minutes every hour. So this was a bit of disappointment.
A couple of food facilities are offering hambugers, fish and chips, ice creams, creperies (thin pancakes filled with either nutella or eggs and ham).

A very fun day for all the family! We were 2 adults and 2 children and we had a great time trying all the rides. We visited on a Wednesday in July and queues were not so long to get on each ride. There was also a good choice of food at lunchtime (hamburgers, meat dishes, pasta, pizza and even sushi!)
Getting a Kabana is also a good idea, it's a good shady base for your day at WaterWorld and you also get a small locker included for free to keep your mobile phones and wallets in a safe place while you're on the rides.
Very fun day indeed!

A decent size water park. Not too busy, queues were quick (no fast passes here (or needed)).
Rides were good, nothing too scary, so go nuts. Lazy river was good. Plenty options for the younger kids as well as older.
Recommend booking a cabana bed in advance as they weren’t too expensive for the day that said there seem to be enough sun beds around the place.
Food areas got a little busy but good choice of food. Taxis were handy and plenty near closing time.

We spent a day at this nice waterpark during our holiday.
It wasn't too busy with us visiting towards the end of the season (Oct), which meant we didn't have long to wait to get on each ride.
The rides vary in intensity, but my wee one (9yo) managed to get on most things. Some of the rides were on a staggered opening, but again this wasn't an issue, with queues being pretty short.
We ate at the park and there was a big selection of different foods. The food itself was really delicious and a pleasant surprise as water/theme parks usually fall down in this area.
We had a great day out and would recommend

We really liked it, there were no long queues, friendly staff and there were games with prizes. Something to do for all ages we had 18, 15 and 8 years old with us and they were all happy 😁 the only thing we didn't like was that the slides where not all open at the same time, some were open when other were closed and then they would close the open ones and open the closed one and so on.... coz of that the queues where bigger then the would be if everything was open at the same time

Definitely the nicest beach in Ayia Napa! The beach is bit hidden, so from the main street you need to walk couple of minutes, but the effort is worth it. Makronissos is not so crowded as Nissi beach, which also makes the beach and water cleaner. We have visited a lot of beaches in Cyprus, but none was as nice as this one.

Crystal clear turquoise water and white sand, it’s literally one of the best beaches I’ve ever been in my lifetime! I have no words to describe it, you just have to visit it and see yourself. When I’ve been there there weren’t as many people but I imagine it can get really really busy in July and August. Two sun beds and umbrella are 7.50€, that’s quite good compared to other countries where it can get even to 30€ for the same.

One of the most popular beaches in Cyprus with the beautiful color of the sea. the beach is relatively small, so if you want sunbeds, you have to come no later than 9 o'clock. there is 1 shop on the beach which is too expensive and next to it is a beautiful beach bar, spa center and hotel.
Djordje Stozinic — Google review
Next to the over crowded beach, on the right side ( facing to the sea) there is a short strip almost unseen of white sand beach without many tourists protected by natural barrier that makes it to quite and magical (almost). No bars or toilets so it is not fit to children so much. But worth the short walking
WA STU — Google review
You need to walk about 15 minutes to arrive at this beach from the bus station and also you need to be there until 9 o'clock if you want to bring sunbeds. There is a bar on the beach where you will find some food and drinks, but the prices are expensive compared with a supermarket. I gave just 3 stars because there isn't a supermarket nearly and the water isn't very clean.

By far the best spot in this area. Try moving away from the crowds to the left or right from the main area. It is lovely for snorkelling, but be mindful of the strong currents.

Beautiful and very clean small beach, clear waters, white sand and less busy than nissi beach..free showers and changing rooms..highly recommend it

The beach is mostly sandy. The water is clean and clear. Less crowded than Nissi beach. The beach where we spent most of our vacation. The bus line to the beach is good. On the beach you have everything you need, toilets, showers, restaurants, cafes. I think this is a perfect place.

Crystal clear water with very good and cheap beach service . Large beach . It has very large and clean toilet facilities. Several bars and restaurants. Lifeguard and first aid center.
Christian Crostelli — Google review
Beautiful beach. Actually, two of them - a bigger one, excellent for swimming, and a small one, which is great for a more secluded enjoying of the sea, or for snorkeling. There are a few reefs very near the small beach, with interesting sea life. There are subeds and beach parasols for rent, at 2,5e each (either sun lounge or a parasol). There is very limited natural shade, although there is a lots of trees and pathways around the beach. You can place your own sun umbrela/parasol as well, although there weren't none when we were there. There is a public fountain with drinkable water, right behing the flag posts once you enter tha main beach. There are also showers in the beach, and public toilets whih are free to use, and kept very clean. The only downside is that there is only one bar, with high prices and at best average food. There is also one restaurant there (Korali) but we haven't visited it.

The best beach we visited in Cyprus! White sand, calm and the water is fantastic!

Excellent beach, good place to go when its a windy day. Only problem I found are the prices of the kiosk that are abit to expensive and better to buy things before coming from a supermarket. Also its hard to find sun-beds during summer season, so better come early.

I'll never travel to Beirut without this trip planner again
Nissi Beach is a long sandy beach with crystal-clear water. It's easily accessible and has all the amenities you need for a day at the beach. In summer, it can get crowded, but it's still one of the most popular beaches on the island.
Beautiful watercolor and quality of sand! Definitely one of the nicest beaches on the island. It is usually very busy but that's understandable as it is very picturesque! The infrastructure with sunbeds, food, showers, toilets etc. Is very good. Also great with children as the water is very shallow and not wavy even several meters away from the beach. Parking is also available. Great to spend a full day there.

A pure paradise, especially off-season when it’s not that crowded. Probably the best beach on the eastern side of the island.
Kamil Arcimowicz — Google review
Dear viewer,
This was a nice beach to visit. Clear blue waters, nice island that you can get to just by walking in the water, but here is a word of advice, get there early, between 8:00 and 9:00 AM, especially if you want to catch a nice chair and umbrella, as afterwards the beach will be jam packed with people.
Florin-Sergiu Mercurean — Google review
Lovely beach clear water but unfortunately in peak season it is very busy as expected, which resulted in it being overcrowded and some trash washed up in the water. Would definitely be better if you come super early or in less busy month. Would recommend Landa beach if you want a more peaceful/ family friendly vibe.

Dont miss this beach while in Cyprus! It is our favorite beach! It gets pretty crowded due to its popularity but we left safe leaving our things on shore while we were in the water.

One of the best white sand beach in Cyprus.
Very picturesque, will recommend going in low tide to visit the small island beyond the beach.

Beautiful sandy beach and bay. Sand is fine and soft. Great place for sunbathing and swimming with some bars on the beach front for food and refreshments. The beach is kept very clean and there are lifeguards on hand too. At one end there is constant dance music from a bar which is ok for a while but got to us after a few hours. However at the other end it was more peaceful and quite which is what we wanted from our holiday. The sunbeds and shades are 2.50 Euros each for the day which seems standard. There are lots of watersports available from a business here including parasending, jetskis, kayaks etc.
Beautiful place and well worth a visit.

Beautiful beach! A bit crowded, so I’d recommend to be there early!

A bit overrated because it is so famous and now it is too busy but there are wonderful beaches similar to it nearby that are even more beautiful. When I visited, it was late May, the water was cold, there was wind, waves and seaweed, wasn’t great for swimming.

What a beautiful beach, we felt like we are in Thailand. The water is warm and clear, the sand is white many bars all around. We had a fabulous time here.

One of the best beaches I’ve ever visited. Clear blue waters, shallow and clean. Definitely with a visit if you are in the area…

This beach will be busy during peak summer months. I was here in October when it was still hot (high 20s early 30 degrees C). Water is that lovely clear blue and still relatively busy in October.

Best beach around even on the off-season! Free umbrellas available on the off-season for much needed shade.
One bathroom with acceptable level of cleanliness.

If there's one beach you need to visit in Cyprus, this is the one.
Free parking.
A few cafes.
White sand.
Crystal blue water.
It's not a massive beach, so make sure to avoid the crowds !

The most famous beach in Cyprus = the most crowded one. The beach is full every day since soon morning, so in the afternoon there is almost no place even to place your blanket. The sea gets really dirty in the afternoon. There is a lot of noise from the boats, musice and people. I dare to say that Cyprus has a lot of nicer beaches to spend the day on.

Beautiful beach in Ayia Napa, Cyprus.
Was pretty full even in the end of November.
There was a small island that you can walk to from the beach.
Was couple of bars and restaurants open on the beach even though it’s off season.
I’m sure it’s a hot spot in the summer when everything is operating in full capacity.
Definitely a place to visit.
Haitham Shaaban — Google review
Even it was the beginning of May, the beach was full, it was crowded. White sand, water is turquoise blue and crystal clear. The water was cold for few days but only the bravest were swimming.
A sunbed is €2.50, a sun umbrella is €2.50, and payment is only by cash.👎
There is restaurant so you can have lunch at the beach. If you are near restaurant you will hear music.
Toilet is in restaurant, public parking is not for free.

Beautiful beach but a little crowded so I recommend you to arrive there till 10:30/ 11 am so you can get a good place or maybe a sun-bed and an umbrella for 5-7,50€ (2,50€/ bed, 2,50€/ umbrella)
Later everything will be full.
Also keep in mind its very busy on the weekends so you may not get any parking place next to the beach in the afternoon.

Beautiful beach. Very long stretch. When the tide goes out its shallow enough to walk over to another small island. Very clean. Water crystal clear. At the end was bars and steps into the sea which had natural waves coming in so lots of people was in loving the tidal pool.

Amazing beach. Was super hot when we went and the sea was nice and warm. Very good place for children as the sea is calm, or adults as there is a bar on the beach.
Pro tip though, it’s best to get here early, parking spaces and beach beds go quickly. We got here at around 9:30 and there was plenty of space.

If you like a beautiful but busy and crowded beach with really loud music ( August), bars and a view of hotels, you're here for a treat. If you like quiet relaxing beaches, probably look elsewhere. Must be amazing outside of the main season.

The beach is big but still pretty crowded in September. At 10 it was not possible to find sunbeds. It's possible to lay for free on the sand. Cool small island which you can walk to through the water and have a better view from higher grounds. The water is beautiful and clean. Unfortunately showering costs 1 euro per minute.

Charge 1 euro for 1 min shower , parking available. Area for sun umbrella and sundeck hire and one side for free use. Several bar cafe available but not all are open during the visit in April. Relatively shallow beach can walk through. Quite a lot of rubbish in the water floating.

A must-see. This beautiful monastery is open to the public but not daily. There are different events inside and around the monastery, especially during the busy summer season but also during Christmas and Greek Easter. Both the events and the monastery are well worth visiting. There is also a nice fountain and park area outside the monastery. The busy pub and club area is only minutes away.

A stunning and interesting look into the past. There are a lot of works going on around the grounds to preserve and restore the site, but we still had access to the chapel and some of the grounds. A really beautiful historic place!
Ross Brown — Google review
The incredibly beautiful monastery of Ayia Napa, dedicated to Our Lady of the Forests, has a fascinating history. It is in the Famagusta region now in the very centre of the modern-day town whose origins lie in the Venetian buildings that went up nearby. It was restored in 1950 and 28 years later, the former monastery became an Ecumenical Conference Centre for churches in Cyprus and the Middle East.
Right now, it's a museum that houses a unique and meaningful exhibition. It is however currently still in the early development stage. The monastery grounds and Seferis Square are the venues for regular, large-scale religious and secular events: festivals, holidays, concerts, etc.

I find it astonishing that this ancient place has had Greek Orthodox monks in residence since at least the 14th Century. This being the earliest that historical references can be found. Considering the history of the island though, I suspect it has an older pedigree. Lots of interesting architecture to see in this peaceful retreat in the middle of party town. Worth a visit and a spot of peaceful reflection 😀

The Hatay Archeology Museum is a must-visit attraction, showcasing a remarkable collection of local artifacts from ancient times. The museum boasts an extensive display of Roman and Byzantine mosaics, depicting nature and human life across different periods. Its colossal size befits the historical significance of Hatay, making it a unique destination for history enthusiasts. Visitors are captivated by the conceptualized rooms and sections, setting it apart from other Turkish museums.
One of the great museums you can ever visit, huge and divers collection. Can't be missed if you in Antakya visting it is a must. However, it needs minimum two hours so make sure you have enough time when you go there.

Undoubtedly, one of the best antiquity museums that I have visited- its mosaic exhibition is amazing (and rivals Tunis's Bardo museum) and the tutorials and information is easy to follow and understand. It gives a great context to the region from pre-historic to the Ottoman period. A must see!

An impressive museum with a variety of exhibits about the area's very old history. I have been to many museums in Europe and this one could easily be in one of its capitals. The finds from the Hittite period are particularly impressive, as is the quality and massiveness of the mosaics from the Roman period. Worth it!

Very nice museum. It has the biggest Mosaic collection in the world. Plan to spend at least 2.5 to 3 hours. It has a nice cafe to relax inside the museum as you exit. Parking was an issue for us. Besides the amazing mosaics spend some time at th sarcofagus section.

I couldn't imagine the amount of historical and archiological findings in this area. The museum was a trip to the history of the rigion. Amazing collection pf mosaic and marble sculptures. It is a must to see for Hatay visitors.
Update: more sections are opened, and more mosaic is in display.
W Rose Gac — Google review
One of the biggest museum in existence and holds so many well known treasures, including some of the best preserved Roman mosaics including the world famous Gypsy Girl. Definitely should not be missed.

The Church of St Pierre is a significant historical site located in Antakya, Turkey. Carved into the side of Mt. Staurin and dating back to 1100 CE, it is one of the world's first cave churches and holds great importance in Christianity. It is believed that St. Pierre held the first religious meeting here to spread Christianity, making it a center of Catholicism and a pilgrimage site for Christians. The church also houses a museum and offers stunning views of the city.
Very old and historical church. Located on the hill so you have to walk to the top. The access if very easy. Actually, the inside is just a cave. I think the attractiveness is the rich-history behind this building.
Muhammad Luthfi — Google review
Entrance fee currently the equivalent in TL of €8 but free if you have a museum card.
To be honest there's not a lot to see. Ten minutes max, which is disappointing given the significant impact of the Antiochean church in early church history.

This place, although is small, should be visited for the historical value that it has. As the first church in the world, and another historical site in a city that dates back to the first civilised city-states of the world. It is better to have the museum card as it gives access to all museums and historical sites of Turkey for 1 year.
W Rose Gac — Google review
The church is a small hall in the mountain. You need to know a bit of history and significance of the place to enjoy the atmosphere, have a look at the city view and tolerate the groups of religious tourists ( not to mention a rather expensive entry fee)
Take your time to go around the church (opposite direction of the main entrance). You shall find an amazing number of tunnels dug in the mountains and the figure carved into the mountain. Unfortunately, the path is not marked and cleaned, but it is definitely part of the amazing history where people had to prepare escape ways to flee religious persecution.

It was surely an amazing piece of nature but the waterfall ways were filled with mass of concrete and dozens of restaurants and vendors are now sorounding the water. Some restaurants placed their tables right into the water so you can cool yourself both drinking and having your feet in icy water. The overall concept is kinda vulgar, the trash around isnt being collected properly so you dont want to walk away from the main routes. The decoration of some places is quite absurd... combining everything... Anyway it was a nice walk and we cooled ourselves after superhot Antakya.

The Byblos Citadel, a remarkable 12th-century fortress constructed by Crusaders using limestone and Roman ruins, is a significant historical landmark. The castle offers stunning panoramic views of the sea and surrounding areas, allowing visitors to witness its ancient splendor. A visit to this architectural marvel is highly recommended for those interested in experiencing history firsthand. The castle is a marvellous piece of history that is sitting in the heart of Byblos.
Parking in a nearby parking lot for a small fee and a short walk and you are at the entrance, 3 types of tickets for Lebanese residents, non residents and foreigners.
Inside the castle and the grounds around it that you can explore with a good walk exploring many parts of it.
Few parts are locked up and you cannot access them but the rest is enough to go around exploring it’s beauty.
The grounds require continuous improvement and development of such a historic and touristic attraction, which is lacking currently or falling behind.

In the 12th century, the Crusaders constructed the castle with the indigenous limestone and the remains of Roman structures resulting in Roman, Persian, Crusader and Phoenician influences. Beautiful panoramic view of surrounding area and Byblos city from the top of the castle. Took about 1.5 hours to walk the site.

My kids really enjoyed the journey to the castle. The kids really liked it and it was like a piece of puzzle that the kids really loved when entering and exiting from different doors down stairs and upstairs. The view at the top of it is just spectacular. As a family I would absolutely recommend visiting the archeological site and enjoy the history

7000 years of history. Amazing ruins. Cheap entry. More pricey for foreigners. Very safe. Well kept. Good location

That’s definitely one of the most attractive spot in Lebanon. This place is located in Harissa, Lebanon. You can go by by car, public transportation or tourism services as well as using the Teleferique (cable car). I’ve surely enjoyed this place and can recommend it to everyone visiting Lebanon.

Right on top of the mountain. About of a drive to the top from Beirut. You can book a taxi to go there. Parking is good and plenty of spaces. Quite place to visit. You can climb up to the top of Tower. If you are into photography then you can pack your lenses to take some really good photos

It is not only the real peace that you find in a turbulent time, but that positive energy you always leave with. That place is THE MUST SEE in Lebanon. The views from the mountain to the Bay are astonishing. One of the most beautiful in the world. Went a thousand times and will keep on going.

The most sacred place with amazing views of lebanon..

This is a must see for visitors to Lebanon. Its religious location should not discourage those who are not catholic or even believers from visiting. Many visitors are not on a religious pilgrimage, but are visiting because of a fantastic location, great views, the sky train (which is a favorite but not the only way to get there), and people watching. Highly recommended.

My group did this walk from the bottom to the top of the mountain. Some trail through the woods that we found. It was a really good experience. The Lady of Lebanon itself is worth the trip, even if you drive to the top. The views are amazing and the church at the top is something to see.

Glorious!
Must visit when you travel to Lebanon. You need to ride a cable car to reach the place faster or go uphill via car. It’s worth the cable car ticket as they have a breath taking view showcasing Beirut and the Mediterranean Sea. They offer mass in different languages.

The Cathedral on top of the hill is great. With the statue of mama mary overlooking the city. Very solemn place to visit to find peace and quiet, from the city atmosphere. Too many people when we came there coz it's Christmas. But we're planning on a not so crowded come back to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and pray solemnly.
The Cedars Of God Bsharri is an area of significant ecological and cultural importance. It contains some of the world's rarest Lebanon cedar trees, and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visitors can explore the Holy Valley, hike along trails that offer stunning views of snow-capped mountains, waterfalls in deep gorges and enjoy the fragrance of jasmine and roses along the way.
A must see when visiting Lebanon. It takes about 20-30min to stroll across the trail surrounded by the magnificant Cedar trees, some more than a thousand years old. Amazing to explore in winter where the forest is covered in snow!

Beautiful place! We have enjoyed the curvy road on the way here! Place is very peaceful! Also for 5$ you could buy a small cedar to plant in your own garden!
Tanu6ka91 — Google review
Beautiful place worth a visit, well organised and the tracks are clean.
The giant cedar trees are charming and the sculptures engraved on some of them are fascinating.
You can easily park the car at the entrance and you can also visit the shops at the entrance for some refreshments or to buy souvenirs.
The hike inside the place is easy and visitors from all ages can enjoy it without a problem.
If it was warm weather, the temperature inside is definitely cooler.
Definitely recommended.

The Cedars of Lebanon are Biblical... they're mentioned in the Bible over 70 times. It's worth the trip to see these magnificent trees.
Omar Rachid — Google review
There is a lot of cedar forests in the world but this one is the only one called « The Cedars of God ». Listed on UNESCO World Heritage Sites, this is the oldest cedar forest in the world. It contains trees that are thousands of years old and that can reach a height of 35 meters with their trunks reaching 12 to 14 meters. This forest is one of the last vestiges of the extensive forests of the Lebanon cedar that anciently thrived across the mountains of Lebanon and that was exploited over the centuries by many civilizations. Besides featuring the oldest trees, the forest is home to the cedar tree decorating the Lebanese flag. You can find this tree on the south-western part of the forest (can be seen from the highway before arriving at the kiosks that sell wood). When you are in this place, you feel the nature majesty and beauty. You enjoy the walk in a stunning, quiet, clean and well-maintained space.

It was a relaxing experience to stroll through the forest. The Forest of the Cedars of God is the oldest cedar forest in the world with almost 400 trees. Such cedar forests are now rare in the world

I just loved this place, there no words to describe the trees in this place. They are huge, natural, and most importantly, clean. But there aren't a big selection of trees like other ceder Sanctuaries. But my favourite thing in this place is the Souk.People there are one of the kindest, and there products are one of the best. 100% recommend of your beside the place

The Lebanese cedar is found quite frequently at high altitudes in Turkey and Lebanon, where this type of tree forms pure or mixed forests together with larch pine, cilice firs and the genus Juniperus. . In addition, it is abundant in the altitude of Cyprus and the Atlas Mountains (Africa), where it occurs in forests together with plane trees, oaks, junipers and numidia firs. Apart from that, there are several pure forests of Lebanese cedar.
Mariana Rabelo — Google review
The place is quite nice and can be quite special depending on your beliefs. Amazing wood carving work. The walk is very easy and enjoyable. Not the most beautiful cedar forest in Lebanon though.

Magical Place, a must go-to destination for tourists and locals!!! 🌳🦌⛰️ The trail is very organized (ideal for hiking), free entrance (donations only). At the end of your trail you can enjoy the Creation and Exhibition by The Artist Rudy Rahme.

Magical and an iconic historic place that represents Lebanon at the core.
Those trees go back 5000 years if not more.
The cedar trea on the flag represents strength and longevity as Lebanon experienced multiple civilizations that ruled that region. Lebanon is super rich in history, culture and many different ethnic groups.

Free entry and parking, 45 minute round trip walk. Nice scenery and trees, but it’s quite small. Little malus for the hundreds of souvenir shops outside

It is a majestic place. Surrounded by the cedar trees, called the cedar of God for they reach such heights that they seem to touch the sky, you feel as if you have been transported into a different world. Each tree has a dimensions plate. In the center, you find a small stone church and the world's tallest wooden sculpture. It is simply the most beautiful place on earth.
Outside you can buy souvenirs, cedar honey, and carve your name on a piece of cedar wood.

Amazing preserve! Loved visiting these ancient beauties. Hope the country continues to help these trees thrive. The merchants outside the preserve were a bit pushy for my liking.

These ancient trees have been standing for centuries, and being in their presence can evoke a sense of awe and wonder. The peacefulness and grandeur of the surroundings can spark creativity and provide a source of inspiration for everyone.
Cedars of God are truly a remarkable place to relax, spend quality time with family, find inspiration, and marvel at the breathtaking cedars.
Entrance based on donation on my last visit.
Chateau Ksara is the oldest and most renowned winery in Lebanon, located in Zahle. Visitors can partake in a free guided tour of the 2 km underground cave full of barrels, which takes approximately 30 minutes. The staff are friendly and provide detailed explanations about the institution. Guests can also indulge in wine tastings of their dry white wines while enjoying dining at Arabi along Berdawni River.
An exceptional tour and well worth five dollars for tasting, tour, history! Professional, kind, highly experienced staff. Beautiful premises and caves and grapes on site, and built in the late 1800s and the Jesuit priests ended up selling it to Lebanese, for Lebanese families because they were too productive and needed to focus more on their mission of religion and serving God. Note, we had the second from the lowest tour, as noted in my pictures with the price, and you will see how much it cost. It was an exceptional tour. We received about a half dozen tastings of wine which was perfect.

We can take part in their free guide tour inside with no appoints.
It takes roughly 30 minutes with walking inside winery.
The underground cave with a lot of Barrels is full length 2 km.
With walking, a guide staff explain this institution in detail. Staffs is very kindly.
They make white wines. That's taste is almost dry.

This is a winery located in Zahle. Lovely scenery very good information from our guide.
Ksara winery has its natural underground labyrinth that keeps the moist and temperature ideal for preserving and maturing the wine.
It is a nice place to visit and taste the best wines they have.

A great wine experience, the caves were astonishing and the story behind the winery captivates you during the tour. Tour guides are so sweet and can speak English, Arabic or French if you needed. I enjoyed Wine tasting especially the ones I’ve never tried before. And the information I knew about wine were really beneficial.

The place and Caves were amazing, definitely a must place to visit when visiting Beirut. We really loved the wines we tried here, they are very unique, lots of spices from the region. Only thing we didn’t enjoy was that Tour Guide and staff who serves the wine does not have enough information and she was like in a hurry during the tour. Other than that everything was great

An exceptional place. An historic winery with amazing caves. Different types of fine wine.
If you have the time to have lunch in the place I really recommend. We had an amazing traditional Lu mood excellent quality. The prices in the shop are really good. I really recut he experience.

We had an extended wine tasting tour that brought us delightful surprises. The tour covered the external grounds, the grapes, and the impressive caves. Our guide, Maya, was not only kind and passionate about Ksara but also highly professional. She offered comprehensive explanations about the winery, its history, and the process of producing arak and wine.
The wine tasting experience itself was exceptional. All wines were delicious and our personal favorites were the Chardonnay and the Ksara 2013. Undoubtedly, this visit stands out as one of the most beautiful experiences we've had. We highly recommend visiting Ksara for a wine tasting tour and indulging in a glass of wine in their charming and picturesque garden.

The winery visit was totally worth the ride to reach there.
The tour we booked was very informative and it was only for our group (group of 4).
The tour guide has good information about what he was talking about.
The tour in the caves was enchanting, any winery tour without the cave tours is really not worth it.
Don’t miss the chance to look at the pictures and learn about the history of the place and the old equipment used and put on display.
Highly recommended.

Incredible experience.
You can have the normal experience or the Premium experience.
I would highly suggest to try the Premium experience!! (15$ per person instead of 6$ per person (for Lebanese people))
You will not only get to visit the wine cave, but you will be able to visit where they work on the Arak, go around the whole Chateau on a Golf Cart, and visit part of the factory, and then get a premium tasting experience with their premium bottles!!
Very worth it.
My favorite two wines are Moscatel (wine for when you’re eating desserts) and Merwah (white wine)
The tour guide was very nice and explained everything in detail and perfectly!

2022.07.12 The visit to Chateau Ksara was not my first time. My last visit was 8 years back. I think the entrance fee is expensive compared to other wineries. The place well maintained. The tour included wine tasting to the prime selection. The tour included only the caves and the wine tasting.

An amazing place. The oldest winery in Lebanon with natural caves used for storing the wine. The history is fascinating and the wines are great. Do also pass by the restaurant on the upper floor. The tours are very informative and insightful into the history of wines in Lebanon.

An interesting place where we booked the tour one day in August. The place is clean, neat with helpful and polite staffs. Unfortunately, there was no mention or visit to the wine making process or to the Winery. The visit just involved how they store wine in barrels in the cave and thereafter wine tasting on the first floor!
Not even visit to the vineyard outside.
Very disappointing indeed.
One would expect a visit should include wine making process and visit to the vineyard at least!

Beautiful winery with a very interesting tour and lovely selection of wine for tasting and purchasing. This should be on everyone’s bucket list when visiting Zahle.
Perla Osta — Google review
The service is ok. But the tour is too expensive for what it is, I expected a lot more.
The wine is good but we already knew that because we drink it often.
The restaurant is over rated, the food is mediocre and too expensive. The wine in the restaurant is double the price of the wine in their shop... so buy the wine in the shop and go drink it with your meal it'll be a smart move.
