Located on the rooftop of the Yacht Club - Zaitunay Bay. The perfect spot for a sunset drink or chill dinner with your friends. The park is located on the rooftop with a wide view of Zaitouna Bay. Food includes international cuisine and the cocktails we tried were extremely good. The park also has a green area where you can sit on cushions.

The Park lounge is a hidden oasis in beirut with stunning views on the sea, skyline and sunset. Excellent cocktails, and a vibrant yet relaxing vibe. The staff are friendly, making the whole experience even better.

My new favorite place for drinks! Another venue by the famous elefteriades, but shockingly with very affordable prices in the middle of downtown Beirut. The outdoor venue is located on the rooftop of the marina yacht club, and overlooks the Zaytouna bay, the mediterranean, and the mountains to the North. The terrace is very large and includes seating areas with couches as well as grass lawns with beanbag chairs. NB. Did not try the food, rating is only for drinks, service and atmosphere.

Definitely gets a 6 stars in terms of location and view. I also loved the concept which is a public park with food stations. Yes these guys have created a park on top of the building and you can sit wherever you want and order food and drinks. They even have comfortable bean bags to lay down on the grass while you enjoy your food. The place is huge! The bar is also beautiful with the lighting and the bottles. What I loved the most is the music which is not loud like a roof top restaurant or lounge. They play beautiful Latin music softlynsonyou can actually have a decent conversation. Beautifully designed and buildings and shops are contemporary modern architecture. Unfortunately, it’s underused and majority of the shops and outlets are not let. Those which are let are designers outlets, watches, clothes, and other expensive goods. There’s nothing much for ordinary citizens apart from Starbucks and Cinema City!

This is a nice place for shopping for brands, a bite and a walk. This year it is missing the Christmas market but they have some Christmas decorations.

Looks like it's a modern take on the souks that have been here for years and flourished in the mid 70's but I don't see many stores open. Lots of history around here, some of it going back to Phoenician times.

It's a unique place which offers visitors delight and enchantment all the time. Beautiful and sophisticated shops, cafes and restaurants. Modern and old refurbished buildings in harmony by the soul.

This area is a bit sad as it has all been beautifully restored but the shops are all high end expensive places. The souks should be for everyone, not just the rich. Also, lots of the cafes and restaurants near the clock tower seem to have closed leaving the area a bit lifeless. The constant presence of military personnel in some parts can be a bit intimidating too. The religious buildings and archaeological ruins are interesting.

Once devastated by the Beirut explosion the Beirut souks are coming back to life with street markets and the stores opening up again. They have a gym and some branded stores that are opening up again and hopefully they will be back to normal in the near future. The do have a signature spinneys in the souks that has a lot of imported items.

What a rich a beautiful history the Levant can boast. Prehistoric, bronze age, Iron age, Greek, roman, byzantine and Arab artifacts all present here weaving a rich tapestry of Lebanon. Some amazingly preserved relics, including a mosaic embossed tomb in the basement. Wow.

The underground floor is the best section of this museum. The staff are very respectful and professional.

It’s beautiful that they kept all these ancient artifacts even thousands of years BC. It gave me all the feels and I really felt like a part of history. The only downside is that they close by 2pm. If you’re into history then this is a must visit for you!

it's amazing how all these ancient civilizations are still the same as it is. the only bad thing about the museum is the working hours. they closed the musuem at 1 p.m or 2 p.m. not sure

Amazing, I didn't expect to see such a large collection, prices are very reasonable for Lebanese people, 100,000 LL for adults, 60,000 LL for seniors, and 50,000 LL for children. Staff are very kind. The souvenir shop also has a lot to choose from. I highly recommend it.

This is a small museum, 3 floors of things found in Lebanon. The most interesting was the basement coffins and 3 mummies. The funeral jewelry and a tomb from Tyre that was moved. Our family enjoyed it, but we all felt warm at the end on a September day.

Very historically rich place, I definitely learnt a lot about the history of Lebanon here. The Roman Empire’s influence as well. I also got to see lots of cool things like mummies, ancient paintings, artifacts etc.

I found this museum surprisingly amazing!! It’s a shame it doesn’t get much of the spotlight and visits as it should be. The national museum has three levels, showcasing the civilizations that made and ruled over Lebanon from the Phoenicians era till date, very rich and informative, the Location is easy to locate, you’d be surprised of the amount of history and findings that this museum has. Free - lovely place to visit and to sit by the sea. Watch fishing and see people having picnics and bbq’s. I saw the biggest sea turtle in my whole life- it looked to be over 150 years old. Amazing!

Was surprised that I could not enter the premises as a student of another country. Wanted to see campus and uni life in Beirut, as I was in the city for two weeks to write my master thesis remotely. They denied access to go and write on a bench on campus and the library. They do however offer short tours. First university in my travels that downright turned me away like that.

If visiting Beirut, recommend walking thru the university and seeing the beautiful campus. Can access the Corniche on the other side. Security will let you in if you show some ID.

Gorgeous campus, renowned faculty, incredibly innovative and forward thinking staff and leadership team, upgraded facilities, plenty of lectures and events held weekly. As an alumnus, it’s a lovely green space to visit to escape city life. Bring your alumni ID in case the security guards stop you at the gate. Non students/ alum should have an ID on hand. Alumni who don’t have an ID can have their ID number looked up at the security office located to the left of the gate when you enter.

number one university in Lebanon. great campus full of green trees and cats. great staff well managed.. but the fees in this university are soooo high it isn't any affordable and you must be a very rich dude to pay the fees or you have to get a scholarship for sure.. but the experience there is indescribable very great

During my last days at high school, one of my teachers back then told us that our university years would be the happiest of our lives. Unfortunately that wasn't my case and I didn't get the chance to experience it. I have mixed feelings for this university. As much as I appreciate the opportunity of getting a degree here, in one of the most well-respected universities in the Middle East, I have mostly negative memories, especially as I had to study here during one of the difficult times of my life, so I couldn't fully enjoy what this place had to offer. First of all, this is an "American" university only by name. It's heavily influenced by the Lebanese educational system, where apparently it's a sin to give full marks in most courses by many of its Lebanese teachers. The marking system here is so skewed they actually mention this fact on the official transcripts they issue to foreign universities. International students from several countries will probably get the shock of their lives as they start their academic years here. The university also couldn't escape the political tension engulfing the country all the time. Lebanese students would always bring their ideologies to the campus, or heavily express their opinion on international affairs, it's common to have strikes and canceled courses every now and then, while at the start of every semester expect strikes against the continuously rising tuition fees. At one point the situation got so violent and involved armed forces inside the campus to take control. On the positive side, I do appreciate the curriculum we had. It's very rich and broadening to your knowledge and views, what a proper university should indeed offer, aside from the core courses we are majoring in. The campus is very green with lots of nature surrounding most buildings, offering a relaxing atmosphere for studying in many spots you can find around. I still had some good memories here. Made some good friends and been through positive experiences, but just like everything else in life, things could have always been better.

The Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque also referred to as the Blue Mosque, is a Sunni Muslim mosque located in downtown Beirut, Lebanon. The Mohammad Al-Amin mosque is the biggest mosque in Lebanon. Soon after the Lebanon Civil War, very little was left. Following a donation by late Prime Minister Rafic Hariri, the foundation stone for the Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque was laid in November 2002. The design is evocative of the Ottomans’ monumental architecture: with a built area covering approximately 11,000 square meters, a 48-meter-high blue dome and 65-meter-high minarets (placed on the corners of the mosque), the mosque has become a dominant feature of the Beirut City Center skyline. It was inaugurated in 2008. The Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque contains multiple domes. All of the domes of the mosque are made from light blue tiles. The mosque also has multiple arches, which are couple stories high. It is known for its size and blue top and because it was built by the prior assasinated prime minister (rafic hariri) who never saw it completed. It is located in ome of the beirut martyrs square's corners and is open to the public almost all day (access is limited to people wanting to pray during friday prayers time). Mohamad al Amin Mosque is the biggest mosque of Beirut. It is georgeous and breathetaking. Inside of the mosque is so peaceful. You can drink water for free inside. And toilets and ablution facilities are very clean. In front of the mosque there ara some ruins from Rome Empire time. Right next to the mosque there is a huge church as well. The whole ares is very beautiful and I advice everyone to visit

Beautiful yellow exterior on this mosque. Once in Beirut for sure a visit is a good idea despite the fact that inside of the mosque is not as brilliant as the outsides. What makes this mosque extra special is that it is located side by side to a church which is very telling of Lebanon.

Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque which is also called Blue Mosque is located in the heart of Down Town Beirut next to the famous Maronite Cathedral of Saint George and Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. This is a Sunni mosque, but surrounded by other religious building. Make sure to show the right name to the taxi driver so he can drop you their right away.

Always enjoy Friday prayers here, if you go early, the Muazzen read the Quran in such a melodious voice before the imam arrives for Khutba. The imam khutba is always on point and his Qur'an recitation is also very beautiful. Mashaa Allah.

Best time from sunset till late evening . You should try the experience of spending the night there and have an early breakfast at the sunrise .

Place de l'etoile Beirut, is strategically located in the center of downtown near the watch and the parliament. it is nice to sit and have a refreshment after a walk in downtown. food is ok, service could be improved.

Not much to see. St George's Cathedral is nearby. The Crypt gives a glimpse of the area thousands of years ago (small entrance fee).

Beautiful but sadly not as full of life as it used to be. Despite, this is the absolut center point of Beirut and a very cultural spot. With several old churches and mosques side by side in the surroundings. Also Roman ruins.

Say what you will about what you might find at the heart of a 7000 year old city, but its quaintness speaks to a humble and confident past, empty of tacky neon and skyrises. This reconstruction might be a little lifeless, but give it time and this too will feel like home.

This church will surprise you in many ways. It's an eighteenth century church that was built on top of a much earlier one from the 4th century. The much older church had been forgotten for hundreds of years, but a bombardment that took place during the Lebanese civil war (1975-1990) unveiled the ancient church when a bomb bore a hole through the newer church's floor. It is possible to visit the older church during the day through a separate entrance to the left of the newer church's main door.

Beautiful Greek Orthodox Church in Downtown Beirut.

The most beautiful of the churches in Beirut. Not only the church itself is beautifully decorated, with paintings in every wall and in the ceiling, but there is also a chapel and a museum in the same complex. The chapel in the back is pretty, simple and gives a relaxed feeling. I felt I could spend hours there. An oasis in the turmoil that is a day walking through Beirut. The museum under the church, which is accessible from the left side is small but really interesting and a well maintained. It costs 5 thousand and is worth it. There you can see ruins of other ages in the same site. So it gives you the idea of how long has this soil been used by different civilizations.

Historically interesting. Old church built over an ancient one whose remains can be seen. Successfully restaured after the damage done during the war. Very attractive wall paintings inside, nicely lit. Beautiful old gold colored screen, iconostasis, with icons.

Almost 250 year old, this gem of byzantine architecture and iconography stands as a witness of past time and cultures that have been present in Lebanon. Its amazingly well restored interiors show an extreme richness like all byzantine art and the underground museum reveals much about the history of the old city that lies underneath the current Beirut. A really good museum for the ones who love geology or simply like to see the beauties of nature. A pretty and varied collection of minerals, stones, crystals and fossils from diverse sites in the world. I went with the hop on hop off touristic bus, the entry was included in the process of the city sightseeing. I spent approximately 40 minutes at the museum, but I would recommend a little more time, if you want to appreciate with patience all of the collection. All ages can enjoy the visit. The gift shop is great. I bought a beautiful bracelet there for a friend.

Very beautiful stones collection from all the world. Ticket price in February 2022 was 10000 lt., approximately 3,5 $. There are very good chooses of gifts from natural stones in museum shop.

I had never visited such a museum before, there are few museums in Beirut. Although, every part of Beirut is a historical museum. I was very impressed with the tour. I shopped at the museum shop. Definitely buy natural stone with very affordable price. You should definitely see it up close. It is also within the university.

Really one of the best mineral museums in the world, I would put this place in my top 3. Having some really rare pieces as well as one of the biggest collections of gems and stones as well as fossil’s but you know it’s not about the quantity, it’s about the quality and I would say this place has top tier quality pieces on showcase. The things I recommend seeing when going there is firstly the radioactive part where they show how they glow in ultraviolet light as well in this room see the amber that comes from lebanon but the room is on the right side in a secluded room when you go in the mineral section of the museum. Then the second thing i recommend seeing is the rare earth materials which is just when you come in the mineral room which shows different diamonds, gold formations and platinum. The third thing I recommend is the meteorite that at the end of the mineral room that explains that there was a meteorite found in lebanon in the 1920s that’s now in USA (you’ll get more information when you go). But in conclusion this is one of the best museums in lebanon and you cannot miss it if you’re a tourist.

It is such a lovely place to spend time with friends and family. The staff are very friendly and can answer any inquiry you have about any stone or crystal. I loved how passionate they are about their work. The gift shop is also interesting as they sell things of different price ranges.

An excellent place displaying one of the most interesting collections of minerals from many countries. The description is clear and concise and the place is meticulously clean. There’s a souvenir shop to purchase interesting gifts and there’s a coffee house just outside the museum but in the same building.

The mim museum is a gem by itself. The minerals in display constitute one of the best if not the best and richest private collection of minerals in the world. A unique experience, an eye-opening encounter with nature and its miracles.

Must visit this museum, incredibile stones from different countries, very interesting see the formation of the natural stones, fluorescent stones, amazing pieces of land art: stone natural art with videos about the period table chemistry. Really is a reminder of the problem this country is facing being built before the civil war then being damaged during the civil war and keeping the shots it had suffered during the war. After all that it got all that graffiti during the protests of October really does show this country can’t get enough. Oh a thing I recommend is to make it easier for people to get there.

If you want to see cars parked with a statue hidden that is mediocre and of which the artfull graffiti is the best then this is your place.

Unfortunately some of the buildings are badly damaged surrounding one end of the square to remind you the difficult times that the brave people of this city have endured!

Stunning edification that brings into place recent history of Lebanon and the appreciation of its Muslim citizens for El Hariri. Sad story but beautiful memorial. It is located near downtown and next to a magnificent mosque. Also, the piece of land where you can see an old city are the remains of one of the first universities in Middle East.

A place worth visiting with great potential, but requiring a lot of effort to make it a well-kept meeting place for local people and tourists.

Perfect square for demonstrations against a corrupted government. Friendly people and clean space. Nice music and animation. Good decorations. For the family during the day but dangerous during night because of the security service that is very impolite and violent with the customers.

We went to Martyr’s square along with approximately over a million and a half Lebanese from all over the country. United for change in hope of a better, cleaner, and corruption-free tomorrow.

Have not seen the inside because it is still being reinovated, but it is pretty lame from outside

Beautiful building and museum. Unfortunately it was partly destroyed in 2020 by explosion, but now you can still visit it. Free entrance but with donation option. I loved to feel the atmosphere of the building which started to be a museum after death of the landowner. Music was wonderful too! Thank you for opportunity to visit it! We saw 3 weddings with photographers and sweet sleeping cat :) You can find souvenir shop and nice cafe on the territory

The museum is temporarily closed due to renovations. According to the guard it will open in spring of 2022. The nice cafe in front of the museum is open.

A beautiful art museum housed in a stunning building and situated near Beirut's bustling Gemmayze and Achrafieh neighborhoods. Although it was damaged by the Beirut explosion in 2020, it has been fully repaired and reopened in 2023. Definitely worth a (free of charge) visit on your next trip to Lebanon's capital city! 🇱🇧 🎨 PS: The Sursock Palace with its amazing architecture and lush gardens is in close proximity to the museum. Although it was severely damaged by the port explosion and serves as a home to members of the Sursock family, it is occasionally open for visits. 🏞️

Very lovely museum!! If you are interested in artworks and paintings you will enjoy visiting this museum. It also shows you a glimpse of the recent history of Lebanon. The museum opens from Wednesday to Sunday from 10 till 6 The entrance is for free

A must see in Beirut's most iconic location. Even a nice place to grab a drink and nice store. Free entry but you can donate to the museum.

It’s back ! I love the exterior architecture of the sursock museum, and of course, most of all, the iconic windows. They have some nice exhibitions going on, but i liked mostly the one underground with the sound and visual projections.

You may want to visit the museum just to admire the architecture. Sadly, little is left from the original interior layout, but was left is worth seeing. The museum has a small permanent collection, but it's nonetheless interesting. The grand hall features exhibitions and competitions that may or may not be interesting as this depends on personal taste. If you are in Beirut and would like to have your cultural fix, then the museum is a must. Btw, entrance is free.

I had high expectations for this museum and I found myself disappointed by the exhibitions on display. Nevertheless, I appreciate the fact that the work of local artists are being displayed to the public and are being constantly changing (new artists around every 2 months) allowing numerous and diverse artists to share their work. On another note, what made my visit worthy was the beauty of the building and its rooms.
