Shani Shingnapur or Shani Shinganapur or Shingnapur is a village in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Situated in Nevasa Taluka in Ahmednagar district, the village is known for its popular temple of Shani, the Hindu god associated with the planet Saturn. The village is 35 kilometres from the city of Ahmednagar. Wikipedia.
One of the famous place in Maharashtra and historically and spirituality also. because here no door and lock even in shop also. People from here they believe that nothing will happen here God Shani is blessing us. A very good atmosphere, once in a life you must visit with your family here

Shani mandir is tooo good . Avoid scams around the temples like they'll urge you to take Pooja material from them n all. Don't take from them you'll get needy things at the entrance of the temple which are at cheaper cost and are so pure.

This well-known shrine is 65 kilometers from Shiridi. After six or seven years, I returned and noticed significant improvements to the facilities.
Oil anointing is best managed by trust. At this point, you can dress normally. Be aware of con artists; parking is provided close to the temple. Facilities for handicapped is also provided.
The temple's premises have been exquisitely renovated. The construction of the temple is still going on. The temple serves wonderful prasad.

I recently visited Shree Shanidev Temple in Shani Shingnapur on a weekday. Despite its popularity, the atmosphere was calm, and the darshan was smoothly done without any rush. The simplicity of the temple and the devotion of the devotees were remarkable. It was a fulfilling and spiritually enriching experience, highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful pilgrimage. Additionally, the temple offers ample parking space for cars at just 20 rupees, and there are plenty of shops nearby selling various materials for pooja (ritual worship).

Place is being developed well. You will need to buy branded oil since the lose or un branded oils are not allowed in the temple. You do have changing rooms and washrooms near by to fresh up. Temple has give special provision to pour oil in special containers while standing in queue line which will travel through a pipe and falls on the idol.
Rajnish Dasari — Google review
Wonderful place. The main objective here is to offer the oil to the deity. Either you can book from counters inside the premises or you can go and pour the oil in a container. Rest all other Prasad is not necessarily required to offer. You will find peace. The place is maintained by trust and it's cleaned regularly.

I love visiting this sacred place. This time when I visit on shani amavasya their was huge rush. They detained vehicles 2-3 km ahead and provide auto service to temple. Good time but you have to be patience with the crowd. It is nearly 145 km from Nashik and it took 3-3.5 hr to reach their. The route nashik- sinnar - nandur shingote- talegaon-loni-rahuri-sani shignapur. Roads are in good shape.

It is believed that shani maharaj came in dream of a shepherd many years aho and said he is "Shaneeshwara". He also told that the unique looking black stone is his swayambhu form. The shepherd prayed and asked the lord whether he should construct a temple for him. To this, Lord Shani Mahatma said there is no need for a roof as the whole sky is his roof and he preferred to be under open sky. He asked the shepherd to do daily pooja and 'Tailabhisheka' every Saturday without fail. He also promised the whole hamlet will have no fear of dacoits or burglars or thieves.
The mandir is usually crowded on shani amawasya.

I think, it was a nice place to visit. I heard about the Shani god from my family members, friends and relatives how powerful they are in terms of getting bad luck. Never thought I would visit him and take his blessings. I'm very happy I have done that, please make a visit and take blessings. Remember you shouldn't see back once you have given your prayers. Also, people who sell all that stuff related to abhishekam or other things are looting from people. I think, barely would be enough. We got trapped with that group and we burned enough money by taking all the unnecessary items who mis sold us by telling us one price at the start and charged us enough after darshan. Take care of the price especially when you are Telugu and unable to deal with the stuff. I didn't have any pictures of gold because of that rule that one shouldn't see back.
jayashankar maddipoti — Google review
Shani Signapur was once a revered place and is probably now also. But the divine experience is nullified by the touts outside who loot every devotee in the name of fear. Some flowers, a coconut, sesame oil and some items costs you Rs 1280 which was exorbitant. Wish I had read the reviews of previous people before. I don't think Lord Shani would have ever wanted people to give these offerings. A small bottle of sesame oil and flowers is all that is actually required but the touts outside will instill fear of Shani God in you. Best is, park in the Govt parking just opposite the temple gate and buy oil which you can do outside or inside the temple premises also. You can pour the oil in the common area which is then pumped to the Shani God statue. If you want to directly pour on the statue, you have to buy a ticket of Rs 500 per person. It is my personal opinion that if you want to spend money, rather donate it to the temple for Prasad to the people and food for needy where you will get a receipt and money will be used in the right manner ( hopefully ).

Shani Shingnapur is where houses have no doors.
Since 2011, women had been allowed to enter the Shani Shingnapur temple.
Dhoti is not compulsory so you can wear jeans.
You can offer oil and rice like things at temple.
Don't purchase from outside.. you will get all these at a cheaper price inside the temple.
MGM Aurangabad blood bank team is present there to collect blood. I donated blood. ( They should maintain hygiene and should wear gloves which is a point needed to be improved by the management)
VIP pass is available for special darshan.
The architecture, cleanness is good .wel maintained.
Recommended to all sanatani bhakts.

Must visit God Shani maharaj temple, it is in Village called Shani Shingnapur famous all around in Maharashtra and other state of India. if you come by car temple has campus to park inside. you can either take bath but now not compulsory. You can buy Oil, other puja stuffs from many vendor stall. Queue is not that Long. I visited on Saturday it took around half an hr to reach and pour oil in container fitted before God. I came to know from people there that we can directly pour oil over the God Shani Maharaj on weekday because of less rush. Buy Prasad after darshan from the counter. On the way to this village you will come across many Sugarcane juice center roadside. Don't miss to have glass of it.

Excellent experience. Had been there in morning first Aarti around 4.30 am. Extremely wonderful devotional experience. Try in morning before sunrise if possible. You will love the experience. 3.5 hrs from nashik if travel start by 12.30 am then you will reach on perfect time. Roads are single so drive carefully.

The fact about this place is no house in the village has doors. And use a paid parking lot. There are people who offer free parking, but we should buy from their shop and they sell them at enormous prices. We are permitted to pour oil on the god only when we take abhishekam ticket.

This temple is very powerful temple . This temple is very old . People come here from everywhere. Now never things has been changed over here . Everything is organized inside the temple. Outside the temple everything is horrible. Dont get into the trap of locals. Temple parking is different ,its right opposite the temple. No need of buying anything from out . Offering oil is important in this temple. Dont get fooled by locals. Oil is sell by the temple trust. They provide proper bill . Every u can do payment by cash only and card. Even to keep your foot wears, facilitie is available by temple management. Temple Management charge only 500rs to offer oil personally. This 500₹, oil charges are not included. Oil u have to purchase separately. Its according to u, how much liters of oil u want to offer. Even Pujari available inside the temple, if u want to conduct any rituals. Even on websites all details are available. Something new is building around temple. In future experience will be different. DONT GET INTO THE TRAP BY LOCALS. SAVE MONEY. even the road has been improved. Drive safe .

2 They entice you saying its free parking and its day Light robbery. There is Temple parking just Ahead of temple which can be used.

Exploring the Mystique of Shri Shaneshwar Mandir, Shani Shingnapur
Nestled 65 kilometers from the bustling pilgrim town of Shirdi, Maharashtra, lies a unique spiritual haven – Shri Shaneshwar Mandir, Shani Shingnapur. Recently, I had the opportunity to visit this revered temple, a journey that not only enriched my soul but also offered a deep dive into the cultural tapestry of India.
Shani Shingnapur's distinctiveness stems from the Swayambhu (self-emerged) Shani Devsthan, a powerful symbol of Lord Shani, represented as a black, imposing stone rising from the earth. This rare manifestation draws thousands of devotees daily, each seeking blessings and solace under the watchful gaze of Lord Shani.
Accessibility to this spiritual oasis is user-friendly, with well-connected roads, trains, and flights via Shirdi. Upon arrival, you're greeted with a plethora of options for pooja Sahitya (worship materials) available near the Mandir (temple). Don't miss the chance to savor the prasad an integral parts of the spiritual experience.
The temple's 24-hour opening is a testament to its commitment to being a constant beacon of hope and faith. A visit here is said to be a must in a devotee's lifetime, a chance to immerse in the sanctity and receive Lord Shani's abundant blessings.
However, a word of caution – while the temple's sanctity is unquestionable, the presence of persistent touts can sometimes dampen the experience. To enhance your visit, here are some pro-tips:
Dress Code: The temple has no specific dress code. Feel free to wear any decent attire.
Parking: Opt for the government parking opposite the temple gate. While there are other parking options, they tend to be more expensive and may involve unsolicited sales pressure.
Footwear: There's a designated spot for keeping footwear right at the temple entrance, eliminating the need to leave them in your car.
Mobile Phones: These are permitted inside the temple, allowing you to capture and share your spiritual journey.
One of the most unique practices here is the offering of oil to Lord Shani. Devotees can purchase oil either outside or within the temple premises. There's a communal area where you can pour the oil, which is then directed towards the deity. For a more personal offering, a direct pour on the statue is possible with a ticket of Rs 500 per person.
Shani Shingnapur is a vibrant spiritual epicenter, a testament to unwavering faith and a sanctuary offering solace and blessings. Its blend of mystical traditions and contemporary accessibility makes it a must-visit for every spiritual seeker.

Jay Shanidev, excellent place, heart touching experience very well maintained, proper crowd management, if you want to place oil on Sidh Shani , you have to buy pass of Rs.500.00 , litter bit pinching otherwise you can put oil symbolically. Must visit

A must for all devotees to visit this temple. Temple complex, queue system is well maintained and managed
Some info for devotees visiting here:
1. There is no dress code, wear descent cloth
2. Pls park your car only in the temple parking right opposite to the temple and don’t park anywhere else even few places where free parking board is put.
3. There is a place to keep your footwear right at the temple entrance.
4. Mobile phones are allowed inside the temple.
5. You can buy oil inside the temple. There is Prasad counter inside
6. To pour oil directly per head charge is 500, otherwise oil has to be poured in container placed

Shree Shanidev Temple in Shani Shingnapur offers a unique and deeply spiritual experience. Known for its extraordinary tradition of having no doors, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shani, believed to be a powerful deity warding off evil.
The temple's simplicity is striking, with devotees placing immense trust in the protective powers of Lord Shani. The open-air sanctum allows for an unobstructed view of the imposing idol, creating a sense of connection and reverence.
The village itself is steeped in faith, and the temple's serene ambiance invites contemplation. Visitors are welcomed to witness the intriguing rituals and practices, reflecting the unwavering devotion of the community.
While the simplicity of Shree Shanidev Temple may differ from conventional temples, its unique traditions and the spiritual energy surrounding it make for a memorable and culturally rich visit.

Looking good. Shanidev bagavan is located at this temple. Temple management is good but outside it is not good. The people who are selling flowers Pooja oils outside are very cunning and don't believe them. Inside the temple they don't suppose us to pour the oil in Shiva. They just arranged a plate-like thing beside to pour oil. Maybe 500rs special tickets are available to pour oil in shiva. The crowd is not more. We visited on weekends.

Excellent place to visit with the family and friends. Extremely quiet and still. The place has been maintained well but they should plant more trees over there. The attention to detail as usual like other sculptures is wonderful. You must visit this place. I wont say much because it is for you to witness the beauty.
The surroundings need a little more attention. There is ample area within the temple premises but not well maintained.
A lot of gardening and beautification can be done within and outside the premises. I am not sure if the government bodies are paying that much attention.

The Upasni Maharaj Temple, located just 6 kilometers from the Shirdi temple, is a place of worship dedicated to Shri Upasani Baba Maharaj. He was a devoted disciple of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba and witnessed many miracles performed by him. This spiritually elevated soul, known as Pujya Shri Upasani Maharaj, gained immense popularity and had a significant number of followers.
Anushthan is the Discourse given by Shri Upasani Baba Maharaj of Sakuri, who is none other than the direct close devotee of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba. Actually, Shri Upasani Baba Maharaj has not only witnessed but also experienced the miracles of Baba directly. SAI uplifted the Balakrishna Govind Upasani Sasthri spiritually and made him as 'Upasani Maharaj', who later had huge followers of his own. The name and fame of this spiritually highly elevated soul, namely Pujya Shri Upasani Maharaj has attained an exalted status later. Even, Mahatma Gandhiji himself once had darshan of this Maharaj and obtained his blessings to get independance.Om Sai Ram...

Sai Heritage Village is a historical museum that showcases the life and times of Sai Baba. The village features various exhibits including statues and activities based on events from Sai Baba's life. Despite the entrance fee of 125/- per person, visitors find the park to be worth every penny due to its excellent maintenance and entertainment options suitable for all ages.
I loved this place. It shows glimpses of old Shirdi. Beautifully designed old village. If you have read Sai Satcharitra then you can easily relate this to some of the stories. I recommend every devotee of Sai Bbaba who are coming from different places in India to visit it once. Children would definitely love this place.

It's a bit pricey for me. They are charging 150 per person, for it it's more. Then they should put someone (guide) to describe the history which is not there. Sculptures are average.

This place needs a revamp.
The concept of Heritage Village is to depict the life of Sai Baba. But it has miserably failed. There are only 3-4 depictions of His life incidents here.
The ticket costs Rs. 150/- per person and the experience is not at all worth it. There is a toy train ride (not included in the entry fee) which is not even maintained properly and is unsafe. There are few food stalls at the centre of the place which are kind of okayish. Best to avoid place.

Really good re-creation of the old village. Definitely worth visiting. Amazing experience and a good way to re-live the old village where Baba blessed the city.
Every model is life sized. It almost looks real. A must visit place in Shirdi.
There are ropeways and small trains, obstacle paths and all to enjoy for the kids and elderly.
Not so well maintained with respect to hygiene and cleanliness. Could be improved in that aspect.
Overall, a great place and a must visit.

Nice place to visit with family when you are in Shirdi. There are statues and sculptures of old sai village. Entry ticket is 150 rupees per person and free for kids till 3 years of age. Parking is available. Ticket includes site visit, you train ride and magic show. Horse/camel ride is available at INR 50 for 1 round. A small canteen is also there inside with basic tea, maggi etc. There is a photo studio also at extra cost. Overall a one time visit is good with family and friends.

If you’re planning a trip to Shirdi or have some free time in the evening, consider visiting the old village of Shirdi to experience its charm. The village also features a play area for children and a delightful toy train that takes visitors on a tour of the entire place. And don’t worry, adults are welcome to ride the train too! 😜
Entrance fee is ₹150/adult and train ride is ₹40/adult.

Sai Heritage Village is a side seeing place in shirdi it's nearly two KMs from the main temple, it's built on the theme of old shirdi when sai Baba lived , they have replicated the village concept with statues and other real material. One main thing to NOTE is the entrance fee is 150 ₹, and only cash is accepted. It's more , they could have it around a hundred or less, you need to take a ticket for 3yrs and above kids as well. You can see a free Magic show and some rope games for kids that's it,not much. One more is while returning you have to bargain with Auto fellows , you can walk till the main road and get an auto with less price ,it's not much distance for adults. Otherwise you are bound to pay more for auto. Finally It's a costly visit with less satisfaction

We had reached the temple in early morning. That date was 26/12/2021.
It was very cold environment on that day.
First we searched for washrooms for taking baths and brushes, etc.
After that we get into the row of entry in temple.
That was too much long line for darshan
We reached at entry point but we didn't took entry pass, so guards removed us from this row.
After that we decided to took Mukh Darshan of Sai Mandir....
Mukh Darshan is an another entry into temple less row.
But from mukh darshan you are not Able to see Statue of Sai Baba from near.
We tooked darshan from a distance and purchased some prasad for home.
That was an interesting thing happened with us.
I really enjoyed it.

Visitor's are advised to check entry gates, due to many modifications at the entry level, old entry gates are closed.

My visit to Sai Shirdi was a captivating experience. The beautifully developed architecture, extensive premises, and comprehensive facilities, including a museum and abundant information about Sai Baba, make it a worthwhile visit. What impressed me most was the seamless layout allowing a full exploration in one visit, enhanced by the no-phone policy fostering a deeper, distraction-free spiritual experience. Overall, Sai Shirdi is a must-visit destination for its blend of architectural beauty and spiritual richness.

Darshan costs INR 200, while the morning aarti, known as the Kakada aarti, costs INR 600. The charge for the midday, evening, and night aarti sessions is INR 400. All devotees have access to both free and paid darshan. Darshan booking is now possible online. Devotees can purchase Seva Tickets at the Temple Counter or online. The temple has organised the Q system well , and takes very minimal time to do darshana. Temple premises are kept clean and neat. They also have "Prasadalaya" which is walkable distance from the temple , They have a website for more information and to book different services offered by the temple. I'm falling short of words to admire Sai Baba inside the temple, i would recommend you to opt for one of their baba Aarti services from the website.

My only concern for which i am posting this review is with regard to the BLOOD DONATION .I had donated My blood this morning looking at the free VIP entry mentioned for blood donars . After getting my blood donation certificate i straight went to gate 02 for vip entry , upon reaching the gaurd said there is no entry from here , you need to go to gate 06 which is a paid darshan gate. Its really disappointing and misleading where on the banner it mentioned FREE VIP ENTRY and the donars are routed to gate 06 .I was on empty stomach and wanted to skip the long queue after the blood donation . Appreciate and request to change the term FREE VIP ENTRY for FREE PAID DARSHAN against BLOOD DONATION . With SAI BABA'S blessings i was able to get through the queue and get his darshan .

Lendi Baug is a garden in Shirdi where Sai Baba used to water plants and rest under a neem tree. It is believed that Sai Baba dug a 2 feet deep pit and placed an earthen lamp inside it, which remains lit at all times in memory of him and his followers. Lendi Baug :
This Baug - meaning a garden is where Sai Baba used to come to water plants every day and rest under a neem tree. Devotees believe that Sai Baba had dug a pit of 2 feet depth and had placed an earthen lamp in the pit. Today, a marble enclosure with a lamp inside remains lit at all times, in memory of many episodes of Sai and his followers.
At the entrance of this park are Samadhis of Baba’s devotees - Abdul Baba, Tatya Kote Patil, Bhau Maharaj Kumbhar and Nanavalli. On a visit here, tourists can also visit Gurusthan which is one of the many other places to visit in Shirdi and is closely located.

Lendi Baug is the Garden which is located inside the main temple towards main gate and adjacent to Highway. This is the Garden which was maintained by Sai Baba during those days, hence this become highly sacred and spiritual visiting place. Baba used to come here every morning and afternoon and rest under a Neem tree. Baba used to spend a lot of his time here watering the plants daily in the morning and Evenings.
Attractions inside Lendi Baug:
1. Nanda Deep:
This place contains the continuous lamp lit by Baba and placed between the two trees (Neem and Bodhi trees) he planted. Baba instructed Abdul Baba later the responsibility to see that the lamp keeps on burning. Till today its burning.
2. Datta Mandir:
Datta Mandir is located a few feet away from Nanda Deep which is constructed below an Audumbar tree. Statue of Datta was installed in the Mandir on 6th December, 1976.
3. The Well:
The well is given a nick name "Bukhi" by Baba which is beyond Nanda Deep. This Well was dug by Baba himself with the help of some devotees and he used to drink this well water in routine.

Sai Baba’s early years are a mystery. Most accounts mention his birth as a Hindu Brahman and his subsequent adoption by a Sufi fakir, or mendicant. Later in life he claimed to have had a Hindu guru. Sai Baba arrived in Shirdi, in the western Indian state of Maharashtra, about 1858 and remained there until his death in 1918.
At first denounced by the villagers of Shirdi as a madman, by the turn of the century Sai Baba had a considerable following of Hindus and Muslims, attracted by his compelling teachings and his performance of apparent miracles, which often involved the granting of wishes and the healing of the sick. He wore a Muslim cap and for the better part of his life lived in an abandoned mosque in Shirdi, where he daily kept a fire burning, a practice reminiscent of some Sufi orders. Yet he named that mosque Dvarakamai, a decidedly Hindu name, and is said to have had substantial knowledge of the Puranas, the bhagvatgita, and various branches of Hindu thought. Sai Baba’s teachings often took the form of paradoxical parables and displayed both his disdain for the rigid formalism that Hinduism and Islam could fall prey to and his empathy for the poor and diseased.
Shirdi is a major pilgrimage site, and other spiritual figures like Upasani Baba and Meher baba credited the teachings of Sai Baba. In the late 20th and early 21st century Sathya Sai Baba claimed to be his incarnation.

It was a mosque named by a Hindu Name "Dwarakamai" by Saibaba where Saibaba used to stay. It is a symbol of Hindu Muslim Unity. Saibaba used to spend some time here in their daily routine. They also enlightened a dhuni (a kind of bonfire) which is burning till today. The ashes of this dhuni known as udi is given to devotees as Saibaba's Prasad which he also used to give to his believers then. Some accessories of daily use of Saibaba are kept here. A stone on which he used to sit is also placed here.

SaiBaba's Dhuni is here! The same Dhuni started by Sai Baba is burning here from 183 years approximately. It's a nice experience to see the place where all the miracles (mentioned in Sai Satcharita and Sai leela magazines) took place first hand.
The only draw back is that Dhuni is fully enclosed in steel mesh and we need to struggle to see the embers.

Dwarkamai is the most important place to see by every devotee. In the entrance left side we saw the sai baba cooking place and sai baba's hand resting place on the wall. We observe that 3 feet of one wooden stick of sai baba.
After that we saw the dhuni covered with grills. In the past we touched and some grains were put in the dhuni but we con't touch it.
We saw all the items of sai baba used. Please observe the deepam holes on the wall of dwarkmai. Sai baba lights the lamps with water when no one gives the oil that night.
At last we saw the sai baba sitting stone covered with glass We touched it on the glass and pray for peace of mind.

Dwarkamai :
Dwarkamai is a place where Sai Baba lived until the very end of his life. Before Sai Baba’s arrival in Shirdi, this place used to be a mosque in poor conditions. Later, Sai turned it into Dwarkamai where he started healing, curing ill people. He solved all their problems and helped them with solutions to their worries.
Here at Dwarkamai, there are two levels. Level one has two rooms with Sai’s portrait and a huge rock on which he used to sit. While level two has a square shaped stool made of stone, which Sai is believed to have used for bathing. The highlight of Dwarkamai is an oil painting of Sai Baba in which he is sitting on a wooden carved shrine.

I can say absolutely wonderful.
2. Lanka Dahan (5D Ride) - This is a 5D movie where we can see the journey of Lord Hanuman to Lanka and rest of the story till Lanka Dahan.

SaiTeerh theme park is one of the great places to visit in Shirdi, it has various attractions for devotees or visitors like Big screen, Dwarakamai, 5D show etc.. food and restaurants available. The entrance price is a bit high, management can reduce the rates a bit less since kids also get charged for entrance. A strong recommendation is to ask for full details while purchasing tickets, you have individual show tickets also available so choose accordingly but a must experience place with kids.

First ever devotional park in India. Consists of 4 main attractions/shows . Beautifully conceptualised, well maintained park makes it worth a visit. Tickets though seems on higher side but won’t be regretted. All attractions equally enjoyable by all age family members . A Shirdi temple tour added with this park visit will be just a cherry on top. Good work.

A new attraction in Shirdi has quickly become a popular destination for both tourists and locals. Located just 2 kilometers from the temple, it's easily accessible by local autos. The entrance itself is impressive, and with a discount coupon, the entrance fee is quite reasonable. Plan to spend at least 3 hours to fully explore the various sections of this new attraction.

Wow this new place in Shirdi is definitely a worthy to visit. It came as tourist attraction and along with tourists, locals are also showing a lot of interest. As it lies very near to temple~2km it can be easily accessed using local autos.
The main entrance itself gives a splendid experience. We got a discount coupon provided by our accommodation staff which decreased the price by 34 which is actually 534. It takes almost 3+hrs to visit all its internal places.
Take your time and visit this peacefully and enjoy to the fullest.

This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva built in Nagar Style. This temple is testimony to the architectural skills of the Maratha workmen who constructed this temple on the bank of Narmada River. It took 34 years to build this temple and at a cost of 1.5 crore Indian rupees. at that time it was huge cost. This temple is visible from long distance due to its strategic location.
Eventhough this temple is dedicated lord shiva, Pillars have statues of Dashavatar of Vishnu starting Matya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, Budha and Kalki Avatara's. There is beautiful and pleasant Rama temple inside this temple surroundings.

Maheshwar is a town in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh
It was the kingdom of Chaktavartin Samrat Sahastraarjun, Kartavirya Arjuna a Heheya king. Lately, after many years, it was the capital of the Malwa during the Maratha Holkar reign till 6 January 1818, when the capital was shifted to Indore by Malhar Rao Holkar III.

Also known as the Ahilyeshwar Temple, the aarti here is a definite event to attend. It is situated near Narmada Ghat and is one of the most beautiful examples of simple yet grand architecture of the former Maratha builders. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and was built during the regime of Ahilyabai Holkar. You should explore the nooks and corners of the temple to find out some really beautiful spots and the view of Narmada river.

Shri Raj Rajeshwar Temple is an extraordinary destination, blending historical significance with a tranquil ambiance and breathtaking views of the Narmada River. This divine shrine, where Sahatrabhau Arjun, Lord Dattatreya's disciple, rests in eternal meditation, offers a mesmerizing spectacle with its ever-blinking 11 lamps within the Shiva temple. The revered P.P.
One of the most well-known and historic temples dedicated to Lord Shiva is Sri Rajarajeshwari Temple, which is located at Ahilya Bai Holkar's Maheshwar Fort on the banks of the Narmada River. Maheshwar, an extremely peaceful and beautiful location, is a must-visit temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Madhya Pradesh.

Beautiful past time behind this small but divine mandir of Sri Kartaviryarjuna Bhagavan.. a deity incarnate of Sudharshana. Don't miss to view the 11 lamps 7 on one side and 4 on the other side that be seen as a reflection in the mirror.. the priest can explain the significance of the ever lit lamps...

Maheshwar is considered as a religious and spiritual place where there is an existence of number of temples including this Rajrajeshwar temple, but I would rather consider this as a place to enjoy with your friends and family and a place to spend time, since it has great views of Ghats, ancient structures and a quality atmosphere.

Roopmati Pavilion, a palace with a romantic history, was built by Baz Bahadur for his beloved Roopmati. It offers stunning views of the Narmada River and is part of the ancient rock-cut architecture dating back to the 5th and 6th centuries. Originally an army observation post, it later became Roopmati's residence. The palace is meticulously maintained and surrounded by lush greenery, adding to its charm.
Visited this gorgeous place in the month of September. It is a bit of 300 metres climb diagonally from the vehicle parking place. Absolutely gorgeous views all around the site and a must visit site for those visting Mandu.
However, on a side note, there are no suitable sanitation facilities in the shop/stall/restaurant area immediately around the site so visitor should mind that.

I read about this place in the book "Mandur Roopmati" by Buddhadeb Guha and hence I had to see this. It is a nice little palace on a hill top. You have to hike a little up from the front gate. But be sure to buy tickets from below which is far down from the palace. You can see a pretty view of the valley from here.

Visited this wonderful place in January. Beautiful example of rain water harvesting. The rock structure has a 3 floors bottom one was used as horse stable. Above that was room used for soldiers to stay. Top was used as watch tower.
Building is having slope structure so as to store a water at one place. The water circulation system in the whole pavillion shows the architectural knowledge of peoples at that time.

Like the Baz Bahadur Palace the Roopmati Pavilion also predates Baz Bahadur. Going by its strategic location on a hill top at the very southern end of the plateau, it is quiet likely it servea as a military outpost keeping an eye on invading armies. It was later converted into a pleasure house by Baz Bahadur for his favourite lover Roopmati, who is to graze at the Narmada from the pavilion. The pavilion consists of two structure built at different level. The base of the upper structure coincides with the top of the lower structure and thus providing a double storied appearance. The overall structure is
U - shaped with a with a neatly maintained garden in the middle. The Roppmati's Pavilion contains massive arched passages complete with water channels to keep the palace cool from the scorching heat of Mandu. The terrace provides great views of the Nimar plains stretching all the way to the Narmada River. Like the Baz Bahadur's Palace the terrace contains two domed pavilions. It was probably from here Roopmati watched the Narmada flow and refused to eat, when the river was not visible.

One of the many great places to see in Mandu . This was earlier built as a Army observation post . Built of sandstone - Rani Roopmati lived at this palace later. She used to have an avid interest in singing and worshipped Maa Narmada . The river Narmada could be seen from the top as a stream on a clear day.
Cleanliness is kept at every inch of the palace. Surrounding Greenery is what gives this palace its charm.
Fact - This palace strategically separates Nimar and Malwa Plateau .

This place is awesome ❤️, if you are fan of " taji taji hawa" you should visit it . This pavallian is built for Rani roopmati so that she can see and mismerise the beuty of holy narmda river which is 15 Km away (approx ) from here , but the pavallian is built at very high altitude so that Rani can easily see narmda maaiya , also there is a garden 🏡 to spent time in for rani , and one more historical thing here is "juhari khana" when Raja Baaj bahadur is dead in the war of sarangpur all the ladies including rani roopmati of the state has committed suicide by burning their ownself alive in this juharikhana. But it is built very unique and if you visit in morning 🌻 , you will find lots of flowers and 🐦 birds whispering , ☮️ peace 🕊️

Beautiful Architecture, Breathtaking view. You can see the Narmada river flowing in the distance if you look hard enough on a clear day.
The drive is slightly challenging for visitors from out of state not used to the unruly traffic in this entire district. Parking is ample but its management is atrocious. My vehicle was blocked by a very smart person when I came back from the monument. Many many others were as well. Never seen such bad traffic sense, unruly driving and parking sense in 20 Indian states that I have visited. Deducted 1 point from the review due to this experience that needs to improve.

The palace was constructed in the 16th century and features broad steps leading to its entrance, with rooms for guards on both sides. There is a temple made by his Queen Kashibai nearby. The Samadhi is simple and serene made by his patrons The locals say that the real cenotaph was washed away in the Narmada flood. There are more development works planned to uplift the place. The final 300 meters of the path to the Smadhi are through Raver village lanes. There is a small shop outside. Samadhi of one of the most powerful and brave Maratha ruler "Thorale Bajirao Peshwa". This place is popularly known as "Peshwa Sarkar ki Samadhi" in local region.
It is Nice and quite place. Good view of Narmada. Now have some local arrangements of food and cold drinks and tea in the area around.
Bajirao Ballal Balaji Bhat was basically Peshwa (Pantapradhan) for 4th Maratha Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj. In 1740 when bajirao was on a millitary operation, he had a military camp here in Rawerkhedi. On 28th April 1740 he died due to heat stroke. Samadhi was built in his remembrance by Shinde (Scindia) of Gwalior.
Samadhi is built in sand stone, not decorative but still very effective and beautiful. Needs a proper road connectivity and some tourist facilities in the village. But the monument itself needs care to be taken. Little bit of genuine restoration may turn the place around. A bit of genuine restoration will bring the mausoleum back to its glory.

Tribute to an invincible warrior
@ Raver Khedi on the banks of Narmada
In tribute 🙏🙏
I have tried coming here on three previous occasions and succeeded in finding one or other pretext to postpone it to the next visit.
This place has reckoned me,haunted and tormented,
me to visit, so when I came here today and paid my obeisance I felt I’ve come home!!
It’s a place of pilgrimage, history and valor like none other.
@Raverkhedi in Khargone district on the banks of narmada lies a simple monument built by his loyal general Scindia to his beloved peshva
A monument to an incomparable warrior.
It is a nondescript monument walled with a courtyard lined with colonnades with a central pedestal where his last rites were performed, and encrypted inside are the ashes of this brave warrior.
History has seen him with myopic vision but read inbetween the lines and tales of victorious battles start flowing.
Politics has tried to erase his name from most of history books yet he shines forth.
Imagine a young 40 yr old general camping with troops of one lakh soldiers waiting to cross the narmada for onward campaigns of the far flung north (read attock(currently in pak)and kabul)
His career spanned only 20 years yet his battle skills are legendary.
Example quoted often in military history is the battle of palkhed.
The country was under saffron flag of chatrapati to the greatest extent under him.
By a cruel twist of fate death overtook him with sudden illness and changed fortunes of this country forever.
Most part of his life was spent on horseback and battlefield.
A general who never lost a battle with his legendary battle skills.
Only death could overpower him.
A true ‘Ran mard’ (braveheart of the men
in battle)
In remembrance and tribute.
Shrimant Peshva bajirao ballal I
18aug1700-28apr1740
I bow to thee in respect 🙏🙏

Hoshang Shah's tomb is situated in the middle of the courtyard of the majestic mausoleum, surrounded by square-shaped walls. One can enter the mausoleum from the entrance gate, (which is built on a square plan with a marble dome) in the middle of the northern wall. The tomb of Hoshang shah is a grand construction, having a square plan and a dome. It is built on a basement of remarkable width and height. The entire building including the dome is covered in marble, providing majestic atmosphere. It is interesting to note that the main entrance and stairs are situated in the south side, the other side of the entrance to the courtyard.
In the four corners of the domed roof, there are constructions with battlements and small domes. They are above the basements, which are built along with a dome. There are plant decorations extending from the edge of the roof and the eaves. They are coloured in red and black, accenting the marble building. Hindu patterns can be observed in the decorations. Considering these and other patterns inside the tomb chamber, we can assume there was involvement of Hindu workmen from the neighbouring towns.

It's construction was done by Bahadur shah is also confirmed by the stone inscription found here on which his name can be clearly seen. Jal Mahal also known as "The Water Palace" was built by Bahadurshah Gujarati in 1534 A.D. Sultan Jahangir stayed here for 6 months during his visit to Mandu. It is situated around Munj Talao and to the south of Shahi Mahal.
It encompasses a fountain, elegant arches and marvelous cuttings done on stones which is a good evidence of high end art. It is built using Roman, Afghani and Mughal arts.

Situated between Kapoor and Munj Sagar Talab,it seems like a grand ship anchored in deep seas. On a rainy day, the beauty and artistry here is its prime. This palace is believed to have been built under Ghiyasuddin Khilji in the 15th century for his 15,000 queens. The architecture is apparently inspired by Hindu style.

A small and beautiful building at the far end of the Jahaz Mahal complex. It's possible to get lost on the way to this place, so be careful. Also, beware of the bees.

Jal mahal is the last monument in the Jahaj Mahal complex. You will need to walk all the way to the end to reach there. It is almost surrounded by the water body, may be that is why its named Jal Mahal. Thought it is not as impressive as the towering Jahaj Mahal, but its a fine piece of architecture.

Jal mahal or the water villa/ palace is a short walk from the Jahaz Mahal. One could take the flight of stairs down from Jahaz and walk your way through to Jal mahal. The walkway is apparently run down and needs maintenance. We could see broken stairs, uneven surface and lack of signages to reach the mahal. As we were already exhausted, we did not venture into Jal mahal, but had a glimpse from atop the Jahaz mahal and it was fabulous. Your ticket to Jahaz mahal includes a visit to Jal mahal as well and the place is closed on Mondays.

Water Palace, Jahaj Mahal Internal Rd, Mandav, Madhya Pradesh 454010, India
Jahaz Mahal, also known as the Ship Palace, is a fascinating architectural wonder located in Mandu, India. Constructed during the 15th century under the rule of Sultan Ghiyas-ud-din Khilji, this palace is renowned for its unique design that gives it the appearance of a floating ship between two artificial lakes. The name "Jahaz Mahal" reflects this distinctive feature.
Peaceful and calm place. This place will boost your creativity. I went there with my family. I loved the place immediately, enjoyed photography. It is well maintained and really good for photo shoot. One who love and fond of architecture, historical places, want to learn photography..this place is boon for them. Must visit. You have to buy ticket for entry.

Jahaj Mahal got its name because it looks like a ship. They claim that the palace is actually surrounded by water and takes on the appearance of a ship during periods of severe rain when the nearby water bodies begin to overflow. It's a beautiful piece of architecture and demands your attention.
Monsoon season made it appear much more lovely. The ideal time to view this gem in Mandu is between august and September.

One of the best place to visit in Mandu. Its luxurious palace built in shape of ship and surrounded by lakes. Also known as Ship that Never Sailed. The entire premise is maintained in good conditions. Plenty of car parking available at distance of 500 meters. The walk from the parking to palace is worth while enjoy delicious local food and fruits being sold by street vendors. Enjoy the structural beauty and landscape.

Jahaj Mahal resembles a ship, hence the name. They also say that during heavy rain, when the water bodies around start overflowing the palace actually gets surrounded by water and looks like a ship. It's a fine piece if architecture and definitely deserves your time.
It looked even more beautiful during the monsoon. Probably the best time to be in Mandu and see this beauty.

Jahaz Mahal in Mandu, Madhya Pradesh, India, is like a time machine. It's an old and beautiful building surrounded by calm and peaceful nature. It's a great place for people who love history and for those who like to explore.
This building looks like a ship, and it was built with amazing skill a long time ago. If you enjoy taking pictures, this place is perfect for you. There are many interesting things to see inside.
You can take a relaxed walk in the big open area and enjoy the beauty of the building. You can also explore the different rooms, outdoor spaces, and ponds. It's like stepping into the past.
But some things could be better, like how they take care of the place and the signs that tell you about it. Even so, Jahaz Mahal is an important historical site that you should visit. Don't forget to take pictures and learn about Mandu's history.

When you will be here, try Daal Paniya outside the fort. This dish is a speciality of this area. Quite chilly aaloo matar and daal with fried corn flour thing. Good item i must say, but just don't take tea with it. Something thanda is a recommendation

An architectural wonder standing similar to a ship in the middle of two small lakes, however, the lakes are filled only during monsoon. The structure looks stunning and the views are great. A small ticket amount is levied to visit the place. A small museum is also situated inside the premises. The place is very clean and well maintained. Only difficult part is the walk to the monument from the parking area.

Cold wind and a charm of nature will make you happy and calm. Don't miss to watch Light show of 30 minutes revealing history of Jahaz Mahaz. Entry ticket is of Rs 25/- per person. Very good place to visit. However, it is highly recommended to visit the baz Bahadur fort and Rani Roopmati pavilion in the vicinity.
One full day is ideal to roam around different monuments in Mandu.
Lot of eating options of local food around the fort. However MP tourism properties are most recommended.

An architectural marvel, and probably one of the best maintained archeological heritage sites in India, with a beautiful manicured garden in its front. With water bodies on two sides, it presumably gives the look of an anchored ship and thus named Jahaz (ship) Mahal.
Jahaz Mahal is one of the most prominent and beautiful part of the entire cluster of historical monuments in Mandu. This stunningly beautiful monument deserves a place in the list of world heritage sites.
It's a two storeyed building, and we got an excellent view from the rooftop. There are approximately 35 steps (wide with reasonable height) to reach the rooftop. Both me and my wife are Sr. Citizens and could comfortably take the steps.

Limited parking available on side. Approach road is often blocked by vehicles parked in front of dhabas which include tractor and water tanker.
You can do nothing but wait for them to finish their job.
Ticket window is located on the right of the gate. On entry there's a museum on the right and guest rooms on top of it over looking the Kapoor taal.
Jahaz Mahal is on your left. From here you can over look the other lake. Little ahead ther are couple of Bawadis, Hindola Mahal, Shahi Hamam, the royal palace.
There's resting place under trees. Earlier it had a cafeteria but noe closed. You can eat your tiffin here.
Outside you have a few curio shops and Dhabas. Here you can get local delicacies. Dall Bafala/ Baati or Daal Paaniye (Bafala or Baati are made of wheat flour whereas Paniye are made of Maize flour and heavy). You can indulge in pleasure 😊

Sunrise - sunset. The 110-m-long and 15-m-broad double-storeyed building is located on a narrow strip of land between the Munj Talao and Kapur Talao, giving the appearance of a ship in water. probably built by Sultan Ghiyathuddin Khalji in the later part of the 15th century. It served as a large harem for the sultan and accommodated a staggering 15,000 women. Later it also served as the residence of Noor Jahan, the favourite queen of Mughal Emperor Jahangir. The southern end of the double - storied building has a stairs leading directly to the terrace. The northern end of the terrace contains a swimming pool of floral design there is a similar pool just below it on the first floor. The terrace has two domed pavilion on the southern and northern end of the long Jahaz Mahal. The northern pavilion is not at the very end of the terrace but just south of the swimming pool.
The Hindola Mahal, located in Mandu, is a part of a ruined palace complex that served as a historic meeting place. It features ogee arches and a large main hall. The palace was built alongside Jahaz Mahal to showcase the engineering excellence of ancient times, with underground wells making it even more elaborate.
Hindola Mahal – meaning Swing palace is so named due to its sloping side walls. The Hindola Mahal might have been constructed during the reign of Hushang Shah

Adjoining the famous Jahaj Mahal, Hindola Mahal forms Parrt of the heritage royal buildings complex in Mandu. This historical building has slanting outer walls at an angle of 77° and thus it presumably gives the look of a swing. Frankly I could not visualize it as a swing. That apart, the building looks beautiful. There are other buildings. The surrounding are very well maintained.
Adjascent to Hindola Mahal, there are other smaller monuments worth seeing.

Hindola Mahal – meaning Swing palace is so named due to its sloping side walls. The Hindola Mahal might have been constructed during the reign of Hushang Shah about 1425 C.E. but may date to the end of the 15th century during the reign of Ghiyas al-Din. It is one of a set buildings making up the royal palace complex at Mandu, which consists of the Jahaz Mahal, the Hindola Mahal, the Taveli Mahal, and the Nahar Jharokha. The Hindola Mahal may have been used as an audience chamber. The plan of the Hindola Mahal is a T-shape, though examination of the exterior walls leads to the conclusion that the crossbar was added later. The vertical mast of the plan consists of one main hall measuring 30 by 18 metres (98 by 59 feet) and 12 metres (39 feet) high. Its lateral walls are 3 metres (9.8 feet) thick and further reinforced by massive inclined buttresses that angle over 77 degrees. These highly inclined buttresses give the Hindola Mahal (Swinging Palace) its name. They also neutralize the outward force of five massive arches that once supported the large flat roof of the main hall. On each exterior of the long sides of the main hall are six recessed arches which hold doors in their lower sections and three slabs of open-work stone windows to let in air and light. A high wall holds battlements on the roof of the building.

This mahal is placed beside Jahaz mahal… the huge still stable and strong structure gives the proof of engineering excellence in ancient times…
Underground wells makes it even complicated…
One should not miss this place if visited Mandu.

Jahaz Mahal or Ship palace at Mandu is beautiful and great depiction of palace life of Muslim rulers of India

Right time to visit this place is monsoon season when tanks are full with water and surrounding are lush green Moonlit night is another good time to visit With light and sound show now started it's a perfect itinerary to plan for Jahaz Mahal has a mention in the memoir of emperor Jahangir that during his stay at Mandu his beloved queen Nur Jahan famed in history for her exceptional beauty used to reside in this palace.
Hindola Mahal is also located in same complex alongwith Taveli Mahal A small museum is also located inside Taveli Mahal

Hindola Mahal where hindola means swing. This mahal was built for swings during rainy seasons by mughals. It is located inside jahaz mahal.
abhi chauhan — Google review
Hindola, meaning swing, named so because of the slant walls of the palace that resemble the swing shape. The story of how this Mahal had both Hindu and Muslim queens living together worshipping their respective deities in turns still runs. The fact that you can stand right where the cultural events were held, and can see the seatings of the royals felt surreal.

The entire fort complex within the Jahaj Mahal of mandu is steeped in history, it's not only absolutely stunning but also such an experience. Hindola Mahal is undergoing certain upkeep work and that's great, but the place itself is very beautiful, the architecture is to die for and the light and sound show at night is also projected here, such a great experience.

According to a Sanskrit inscription, Mandu was a 6th century fortified town, that was established as a fort capital in the 11th century by the Parmar rulers. This ancient city tells stories of a romance between Prince Baz Bahadur and Rani Roopmati and has several palaces, tombs, mosques, pavilions and rock-cut caves.

The whole complex of Mandu is so so rich and so beautiful. Every monuments has a story behind it on which it stands tested against the tide of centuries and different kings and their kingdom. After hearing the story and the purpose of the complex it's all worth it. Would recommend blindly to anyone to visit this place and feel the heritage first hand. Kudos to ASI again for the maintenance of the heritage so that the future can witness this beauty as it is.

Hindola Mahal is Artistic, Beautiful Unique Structure !
Hindola Mahal Built by Hushang Shah, probably around A.D. 1425 as a Durbar hall.
The walls are inordinately thick and slope like those of a castle. The slope of over 77 degrees gives a swinging appearance to the building, hence the name.
The plan is 'T' shaped. The upright stem being the main hall (which was built first), and the cross bar is a transverse portion added later.
The structure was probably supposed to have the zenana place as another storey above the main hall, which would explain the bulk and strength of the walls.

It was an amazing weekend spent at this place. The Patalpani Waterfall is a waterfall on the Choral River, a tributary of the Narmada, located in the Mhow Tehsil of Indore district in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. Patalpani is a waterfall in Madhya Pradesh. It has an approximate 91 metres (300 ft). It is on the Choral River.
The water flow is highest immediately after the rainy season (usually after July). It goes almost dry in the summer season, and the stream is reduced to a trickle. The area around Patalpani is a popular picnic and trekking spot.
