Banh It Cham Temple (Yang M'Tian) is a historical red-brick temple situated on a hillside, surrounded by rice fields and developing buildings, offering picturesque views of the mountains. With an affordable entry fee of 15k vnd plus 3k for parking, it is definitely worth visiting to enjoy the panoramic view and admire the beauty of this temple.
Beautiful, clean and well maintained by the government. Easy to find on Google maps.

A piece of history on top of a hill, it cos 15000vnd for entry, once up you can enjoy the amazing view and, sadly there’s music constantly playing hence ain’t able to enjoy the peach and quiet. There is 1 main tower and 2 smaller one. Just be careful at the main chamber and there’s heaps of bats in there.

The temple is just a ~30min drive from Quy Nhon, between rice fields and developing buildings. The ticket entrance is only 15k vnd for entrance + 3k for parking. It is definitely worth it to visit for the panoramic view and the beautiful temple.

Cheap entrance fee of 15,000 VND per person, plus 3k for the scooter.
The temples are well preserved and have clean new paths leading around them. There are some nice views of the area at the top, and the main temple is full of bats (and bat poo).

Absolutely beautiful... It doesn't open until 7.30 am but you can walk round the left side of the main gate and walk up the path to the left to the temples. I did this at 6am to catch the sunrise. Got some stunning pics and enjoyed it all to myself like my own private mini Angkor Wat 😍

Wow . . . I loved this. Plan to spend about 30 minutes here. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a mask . . . The mask is too shield your nose from the smell of the hundreds of bats who live inside these towers. It looks like the government is trying to improve this place, but it could use some love

My most favorite Champa temple in Vietnam so far. Historical Tower on the hill, you can see peaceful scenery. Small mountains, river and sea, it make us imagine why several hundred years ago people built this shirne on this hill. Strongly recommend.

Beautiful site. Museum is full of interesting artefacts. Unfortunately, the temple of the 3 Tan son brothers was closed on our visit day.

Unfortunately, the museum is closed for renovation at the moment, but the garden and small temples around are really beautiful. We also saw a traditional performance of vietnamese martial arts and dances. Interesting!

A large and interesting museum about Tay Son dynasty, worth to visit
Tuan Anh Hoang (Hai Phong Trip) — Google review
King Quang Trung is my biggest hero, so visiting his museum is my purpose of the trip to Bình Định. The museum was built right on his original house location, in which a tamarine tree and a well are still alive since his time. It may take you the whole morning or afternnon to finish the museum.
Thien Lam — Google review
Not sure what it's like inside the museum though, because when I came here, it had closed for rennovation... this museum and the King Quang Trung's temple is one place, so make sure you come here by car or taxi, or motorbike if you are nearby. It's location is 23 miles from Quy Nhon city, so plan carefully before going here.
Huy Vũ — Google review
Outstanding memorial and exhibits of this most revered Emperor and the period of the Tay Son rebellion. There is also what was called a "Kung Fu Dance" exhibition in an air-conditioned hall. Very colorful and entertaining. Make sure you take a drink from the well. Legend says that those warriors who drank from it before every battle were always victorious. Also, according to our guide, the water is believed to stimulate virility and potency in both men and women.

I really loved staying here. The room and bathroom were spotless. I loved the atmosphere, so calm and peaceful. The staff are amazing and the restaurant food, though crazy expensive, was good. My bicycle slept in my room with me. When I got there I realised that I'd stayed here before, back in 2018. The property is on the beach. Perfect.

Fine for overnight- on a lovely beach with great views. Rather small and dark bungalow with a faintly musty smell. Hair dryer came close to melting and then died. Sitting on a terrace having coffee and a rat comes wandering by! Faded grandeur.

worst experience of staying in a hotel in my life!
first of all, they gave us an old small room near the main road with a dirty pool outside that barely is worth 300k, but they will charge you for 800k. we stayed there for a few hours then at midnight they came to our room and threw us out of the hotel because instead of passports we showed them our residency cards and they didn't know what this is! so we slept a night outside on the beach. and the worst part is they charged us for this service! unbelievable! please don't waste your time and money in this place. especially if you are foreigners.
Arsham JA — Google review
Only ate at restaurant, but it was limited selection and not very tasty or flavorful. Facility is old and run down. Beach view is nice, but has some trash.

Seen better days, odd smell, tired restaurant. And a decent sized rat was the most interesting thing in the shop. Nevertheless a fun little stop on way north and an excellent supper at nearby chau Me beach
Stuart Acker Holt — Google review
This resort is the worst resort I have ever been to. It is more like a motel. The beds were lumpy, the highway is right next to all rooms so all night you would hear trucks driving by honking their horns and the food at the restaurant gave my boyfriend Food poisoning. And the resort still expected us to pay for it. I tried to explain that due to how sick we both were I was not going to pay for the food, but their English was so bad she kept saying "no, sorry". And would call the manager saying the same thing afterwards. There was also a wedding next door which played the loudest music all night long. And the beach was dirty, with no chairs or umbrellas. The pool had bugs in it. The restaurants service was horrible. We waited over 15 minutes to get our order taken. And I had to ask for the bill three times. They do not serve ice with the sodas only a cup. And the table clothes were dirty probably from the previous meal eaten on them. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Especially not at the crazy prices they charge.

An extraordinary place. The gardens are actually quite beautiful and peaceful, in contrast to the horrors that happened at this site 50 years ago. A reconstructed house, and the Buddhist temple dedicated to the victims, are especially moving. The museum is, appropriately, deeply disturbing and thought-provoking. Some may feel that the curators have chosen a tone slightly too close to the language of communist propaganda - but this is understandable in the circumstances.

This area is currently guarded and there is no charge to visit. In the middle - in front of the tower, there is a small house that used to be the monk's residence before the temple was moved to the opposite side. Currently the towers are still in use, but there are no tourist services around. Hopefully Tam Ky plans to develop into the city's main tourist destination in the near future.

Slightly famous for the murals painted on sides of local houses and a long beach which could be beautiful if it were not often used as the village dump. This village was designated by the government to be an area of art. They got artists to paint murals on the walls of the fishing village. The village runs along one road for just over a kilometre. The paintings are just impressive and are of many different themes.
It was an absolute pleasure to visit this little off the beaten track place and see it before it becomes over commercialised with tourists, which is sadly happening in Vietnam today.

A very nice, lovely, quiet and beautiful little fishing village by the sea. White sand and fishing boat laying in wait between the trips. Not very much tourists as there are not many hotels but homestays. Cute wall paintings along the main road running through the village.

Lovely little village where the homes and fences have been painted with various scenes.
Murals are very artistic.
The beach area is relatively clean and virtually empty. There were a few touts but no hard sell, or pressure, a simple shake of the head and no thanks and off they happily went.
Can also walk down to the fish farms.
Not really geared for tourism and that was the best part.

We did a 6-hour trip to Tam Thanh village, it was awesome! We park our bike for 5,000, walk through the village to find the paintings, some on hidden wall behind, some on those walls in small alley, so it was really fun. lunch for 20,000 per person, noodle or steam rice with side dishes, which can be found on the main street, pretty cheap! We had sugar cane juice, while h can be found anywhere. Long clean sandy beach, very quiet. Ok, so it $10 for a room. The rooms are nice, you even get a balcony, coffee maker and fridge. However, there is nothing around. Even finding a beach to swim in isn't easy. The local "town" is interesting, but it seems everyone wants to try to RIP you off. After wondering for some time a woman waves me into a courtyard for a meal. I sit down and get a plate of noodles, their was no menus, it was very informal. The lady wants 500,000 dong! After an argument etc, I walk down the street to get water, the lady there tries to charge 30,000. I start to leave and another lady comes and changes the price to 10,000, which is standard. Was interesting, even creepy, I was the only one in the hotel and the wind makes a spooky sound at night giving the feel of a haunted hotel.

My Son is a remarkable site featuring the remains of Hindu temples constructed between the 4th and 14th centuries, showcasing red brick structures adorned with intricate carvings. This historical gem is located about an hour's bike ride from Hoi An ancient town and offers insights into the history of the Champa kingdom. The temple complex boasts superb stonework that reflects advanced craftsmanship and precision, leaving visitors in awe of its architectural sophistication.
Very nice place to visit. About an hour riding bike from Hoi An ancient town. We learnt a lot about the history of Champa kingdom. Highly recommended visiting in the early morning or late afternoon since it is very sunny, and not much place to hide the sun.

1. The preservation was done nicely. Only one “group” (area) of the site was preserved pretty much original. Others were rebuilt by french or indian government
2. I wish they could build an air conditioned spot for tourists as it could get really hot during summer with 40+ Celsius. Imagined being under the sun in this hot weather. My parents almost got a heat stroke
3. The traditional dance show was more interesting than I would expect. Highly recommended it. Do check the show time beforehand.
4. Follow a tour is a no brainer. The site was in the middle of nowhere. I doubt a taxi would be readily available when you are ready to leave.

There is a bit of walking to do in order to explore the place, the location has lots of historical temple ruins to offer and it’s beautiful. Some of the information boards were faded and hence it was difficult to read. Proper usage of sign boards could have been implemented in order to guide visitors. If you’re visiting in summer, note that it could get very hot.

This place is great part of history, thank you to Vietnam and India for this beautiful culture.
They are trying to maintain this place as best as they can but clearly you see the lack of not enough capital.
People need to come and see and support them as they can.
Also again shows how USA just drops bomb the area that has nothing to do with anything, almost you start to believe they want to erase history

I would definitely recommend going with a tour guide to fully appreciate the site. The ruins themselves are being renovated and restored, and the story of the ruins is very interesting.
From the car park, a speedy electric cart takes you the 2k to the site of the ruins. Expect to be there for around 2 hours. Plenty of restrooms and places for food and drink.
The was a wonderful 15 minute show at 2pm with dancers and music at the entrance to the temple complex.
You can also see some bomb craters.

This place is something else. It is an awesome temple complex dating back many centuries. What caught my eye was the superb stone work. Wonder how they achieved this type of accuracy and sophistication so many centuries ago. The detailing on the stone with such sharp precision cut is evidence of some advanced technology using very high end tools. The more you look at it, the more it intrigues you.

Excellent ruins complex of Cham structures. You could easily spend half a day (or more).
There's plenty of parking options for all types of transport. There's also an array of cafe and small restaurants outside and inside the complex.
Access to the ruin sites (9 areas) is via an electric cart, which departs and returns very frequently.
Upon reaching the ruins there is a bit of a walk to commence viewing (approx. 1km) but the road is good.
At the ruins there is a cafeteria and a theatre that holds performances at scheduled times.
The only downside is that it does get busy (bus loads of tourists). However the worst thing I found were the ignorant spectators who not only want to take many, many selfies (in way too many silly poses) but then hang around at the prime spots to view their "masterpieces". Instead of moving off to side areas to let others enjoy the ruins. As if they are some special VIP or fashion model doing a Vogue cover shot (ignorant morons)....many are female Asians.

A wonderful historic site to visit!
We drove 1h by scooted from Hoi An to get here. There's safe scooter parking outside. I would recommend the one close to the entrance that is not free, but only costs 5000vnd. The "free parking" charges more for drinks, apparently.
After entering the sanctuary and crossing a bridge, there was a small open, electric bus that took us to the point that we could walk from. Entrance tickets cost 150.000 and the transport inside was free. For the hungry visitor, there's tons of food places outside and inside the sanctuary.
The ruins were bathed in the late afternoon sun. They were built between the 4th to the 13th centuries AD, and mostly consist of clay bricks with some details made in sandstone. Altogether, there's 70 buildings in the sanctuary. It was so atmospheric and impressive to look upon these ancient structures, of which many are still standing today. We bought one audio guide, which was alright, though it would probably be even better with a human guide.
I would warmly recommend the My Son Sanctuary to anyone interested in history, architecture, and religion. It's also just a nice, calm place to visit for the atmosphere itself.

My Son Sanctuary is an amazing part of Vietnamese history. The partially ruined Hindu temple is a group of smaller temples located across the area. It was ruined during the times of War. There is also a music and dance show performed mainly by the Cham people. Overall experience was very good.
Kim Bong Carpentry Village is a place where you can find many traditional handicrafts, such as furniture, carvings and paintings. The village is located on the other bank of Thu Bon river and has been around for centuries.
We went on a boat over to the carpentry village, lovely lunch on the boat then strolled around this village seeing how artists and carpenters, met some lovely villagers

Did a DIY bike tour of the island, through paddy fields, small lanes. Nice enough, though nothing spectacular.

A stop on the riverboat trip. They mainly do carpentry work in the village including boat repairs. The market was the best thing to see.

The Precious Heritage Art Gallery Museum in Hoi An is a captivating destination that showcases the rich cultural diversity of Vietnam. Founded by Rehahn, a passionate French photographer, this museum offers a unique insight into the lives and traditions of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups. The exhibits are thoughtfully presented on two floors, featuring 200 striking photographs of Vietnamese women and children on the first floor, while the second floor houses an impressive collection of 35 traditional costumes and artifacts from various regions.
Launched by Rehanh, a talented French photographer, this museum is a tribute to the 54 ethnicities living in Vietnam. A must-to-visit during your stay in Hoi An.

Amazingly interesting and beautiful museum. Definitely worth a visit! The pictures are gorgeous and the stories are super interesting. If you travel through/visit Vietnam this is a MUST-do to get to know something about their traditional culture. Just go :)

I'm not really a big fan of museums and cultural things but I was blown away. The pictures speak more than a thousand words and are really intriguing to look at. The stories about how the photographer gathered the costumes and the trips he took to get them are very inspiring and wonderful to read. 11/10, definitely recommend.

A beautiful insight into the many ethnic groups found throughout Vietnam. If you’re sticking to the tourist towns then do yourself a favour and see this display of native costumes and culture. Beautiful photographs available to purchase. Free entry.

Lovely museum, must visit when you are in Hoi An! Owner is Rehanh, a talent from French.
Located in the centre of Hoi An ancient town, a beautiful place to learn about the ethenic groups in Vietnam. We appreciated all of his hard work. We were amazed how much he has done, and his knowledge of the variety cultures. We were in our travelling across the country, so we understand how difficult it is to get into the small village of the minority groups. As a Vietnamese, I have to admit that I know less about my own country, and the culture of the minority groups than him!
It's free to visit, so please come to this place, to see the culture of other groups in Vietnam, as well as the beauty of Vietnam.

A warm local museum with various Vietnamese culture collection. It worth those who is interested in Vietnamese minority to visit. There's a lot art, cultural, handmade and photography collection, which make people impressive. Meanwhile, the museum also has pretty postcard, and each of it is 25k VND.

A fascinating insight into Vietnam’s ethnic minorities and their traditions, with some beautiful portraits.
I usually find myself enjoying a museum/gallery for 20 minutes or so and then swiftly moving on, but this small museum kept me engaged for well over an hour and I only left because I had to. Highly recommend.

A beautiful and very interesting photo/art gallery with a big collection of traditional clothes from some of the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. So many stories did the French artist Rehahn capture and they are exhibited here.

Best sight in Hoi An for me. Really interesting insights about the Vietnamese tribes, showing their beautiful original traditional clothing plus amazing photos of the original owners from the tribes. Information about every piece and owner is given on cards, describing the way the photographer met them, in quite an emotional way. Absolutely recommend going there.

What Rehann has done deserves so much credit. So much effort and work to bring us all this information about the different ethnic groups of Vietnam. With such detail and with examples of their beautiful costumes.
And it's FREE! You can buy a postcard or some of their beautiful pictures to support the museum.
Wonderful body of work, definitely worth the visit. It's a small museum but It'll take you at least one hour if you are interested in the vast information on display.

Somebody just happened to recommend this to me as I didn't have anything planned, but I'm so glad I went.
I'm not particularly an art enthusiast, however I do like photography. Réhahn has created the perfect balance to be able to enjoy the art and learn about the Vietnamese culture. The museum was mesmerising and his stories were fascinating.
Would 1000% recommend going if you're in Hoi An.

Incredible museum for learning about different tribes and ethnic groups in Vietnam. Would especially recommend for those who have spent time in Sapa or on the Ha Giang loop who are keen to learn more about the village people they might’ve seen.

A wave of emotion washes over me as I wander through the halls of the Precious Heritage Art Gallery. Witnessing Réhahn's dedication and love poured into projects celebrating Vietnam's diverse ethnic communities fills me with immense gratitude. The gallery unfolds like a captivating narrative, beginning with a vibrant display of photo books and postcards in the first space.
Moving into the gallery's heart, I immerse myself in the fascinating world of documentaries. Through these films, Réhahn unveils the intricate process of his remarkable work in remote regions of Vietnam.
Ascending the stairs, I am greeted by an alluring display of traditional costumes. Among them lie priceless treasures – the last surviving originals, crafted with techniques now lost to time. Each garment whispers tales of a rich cultural heritage, preserved with meticulous care.
Even the smallest details speak volumes of the gallery's dedication. The wooden frames surrounding portraits of ethnic representatives are meticulously laser-engraved with typical patterns reflecting their unique heritage.
The Precious Heritage Art Gallery is more than an exhibition, it is a journey of discovery, a must-visit place for any traveller seeking a deeper understanding of this vibrant nation.

Loved it! It's a must visit for Hoi An! You get to connect with the traditional cultures of the many ethnic groups living in Vietnam. The artist whose photos are displayed has a deep passion for valuing and preserving these beautiful disappearing cultures! Deeply moving. The Hội An Central Market is a bustling, colourful place where locals and tourists alike can buy produce, clothing and souvenirs. It's conveniently located just outside of the Ancient Town, so it's always a great place to grab a bite before exploring more of Hoi An.
Seems to be more quality and interesting goods than other Vietnam markets, but the prices are bit more expensive for the same goods. Bought some unique artistic goods for gifts. Also bought some tropical fruits and tried in the morning since our hotel did not have breakfast included.
The atmosphere is fantastic. Lots of foreigners, tourists, young couples, old couples, shops , restaurants, street foods, cafes, shoppers, and way too many aggressive street peddlers.

Great market to see locals selling their produce including seafood and lots more. But some will try to rip you off, so try to get an idea of prices before going from your hotel.

I'm a sucker for central markets which symbolize the heartbeat of any town.
From merchandise to food, they've got it all.
Hoi An Market was bustling, but I came here for two things, little souvenirs and food!!!
Their food stalls are great, highlighting the local food-fare and their prices and portions are very affordable.

Central Market is a very interesting marketplace at Hoi An!!! Lots of buying and selling, haggling over the wares in this very busy market, in the mornings. Live fishes, live prawns and clam, live chicken sold along the road!! All adds to the busy market is the little pier, with boats transporting passengers and bikes!! But I like the food sold inside the Central Market (Building). Great food at reasonable price!

The hustling streets, the river dolled up with thousands of lanterns of different kinds. The delicious aroma of various street food. Everything about the place screams love. If you are someone who adores culture and heritage, Hoi An should be a place to visit. Hainan Assembly Hall, also known as Hai Nam Assembly Hall, is a historical site in Hoi An, Vietnam. Built in 1851 by Chinese merchants from Canton, it features a wing dedicated to 108 Chinese merchants who were killed at sea. The main hall boasts large columns on a marble platform and a wooden altar carved with scenes of the three worlds - Heaven, Earth, and Aquarium.
Actually, I enjoyed this more than the Hokkian assembly hall. It is quiet and traditional. The gatekeeper, who thought us from same origin (yes and no, we are not from Hainan but a place nearby), showed us around with passion. It's apparent that this hall is built and decorated with overflowing nostalgia. It's an impressive and touching place to end our day in Hoi An here.

Our visit was on 21st Feb 24, morning time.
In this religious establishment, an elderly individual assumed the role of manager and consistently peddled lucky items, such as "lộc - xu may mắn" (lucky coins), to visitors. The commercialization of this sacred space, compounded by the requirement to purchase tickets for entry and the feeling of being deceived, undermines the reverence for the divine and erodes visitors' respect for the sanctity of the site.
I believe governmental intervention to regulate and restrict profit-driven practices like these is imperative.
Cathie N — Google review
Built in 1851, this assembly hall is a memorial to 108 merchants from Hainan Island who were mistaken for pirates and killed in Quang Nam province. The elaborate dais contains plaques to their memory. In front of the central altar is a fine gilded woodcarving of Chinese court life.

-The place is more of a temple, dedicated to 108 killed Chinese merchants mistakenly killed by the Nguyen lords
-Nice to include in a trip to the old city in excess of the 5 places permitted by the old city ticket
This 17th-century pagoda temple is dedicated to General Quan Cong, a military leader and protector of the people during the Eastern Han dynasty. Thousands of Buddhists from all over the world come here to pray, often holding solemn ceremonies. The temple's corridor or aisles are lined with eye-catching red lanterns in the scene of majestic, pure, poetic beauty.
A great place to admire and respect Quan Cong in Hoi An, a great symbol of Justice and loyalty.
The Assembly Hall Of Fujian Chinese is an impressive and historically significant temple in the city of Hoi An, Vietnam. The building was originally constructed in 1690 by the residents of Fujian Province in China to serve as a place for socialising and religious ceremonies. Today, the hall is also home to Jinshang Golden Mountain Temple, which venerates Thien Hau, the sea goddess who is responsible for protecting sailors.
Nice old Chinese temple with peaceful ambience.

This temple is big in area wise when compared to the other temples in the town, with open gardens and two court yards one after the other. The admission to this place is included in the combo ticket purchased from the ticket centre located at two or three points in the town. Rather huge place for worship, and 1 of the recommended places to visit with Hoi an old town ticket.

If you get the tickets which permit entry to 5 different locations in Hoi An make this your number 1 spot. Truly stunning and impressive architecture which is well maintained. Like most of the exhibits the problem is availability of information, you need to consult Google or guess at the history of most of these sites.

Old House of Tan Ky is a well-preserved 18th-century merchant's house in Hoi An, Vietnam. The wooden building, constructed without nails, showcases a blend of Japanese and Chinese design influences reflecting the cultural presence in Hoi An at that time. The interior boasts exquisite decorations such as poems on mother-of-pearl hangings and original Bat Trang bricks, while the balcony features stunning hand-carved woods.
Tan Ky Old House was built in 1741 in Hoi An ancient town. It is the place where 7 generations of Le family have lived. The name “Tan Ky” was used by Mr. Le Tan Ky- the first owner of the house. It was a merchant house to do business with the Japanese, Chinese as well as Vietnamese. Nowadays, it is a Vietnam National heritage.

18th century merchant's house in very good condition. Not big but full of original features and furniture. Think there is a guide available but I was happy to just look at the lovely carved wood details and to see just how open air the lifestyle here is (surprising for a North European!) A nice market with many stalls and products displayed. The only problem here is that prices of the items are not displayed which means that a "sliding scale" model of pricing is applied. 😅

We only had 2 days in Hoi An so, we came out on a beautiful evening, around 5:30pm when the vendors are setting up for the evening. We spent over 3 hours roaming and eating and people watching in that area, strolling through the alleys, crossing the bridge and watching tourists bargaining and getting ripped off! Certainly filled with entertainment and good times!
The alleys have many nice shops and food can be found on every corner at affordable prices. Bring plenty of cash!
The boats are jam packed so, go early to avoid the long lines. They also have larger boats that would take you out for Sunset cruises. Beautiful place to watch the sun set.
The lanterns do light up the river in the night and the views are breathtakingly beautiful in the evening. 3 hours do pass very quickly when you take your time to stroll through this amazing historic town.

Solid five stars for the vibe here, chill, relaxing, and fancy, you may get better scenery during night time; short boat tour will be a must-choose option, it takes around 10 to 15 minutes (I highly recommend to try it at night!!); overall the experience was great except the part of food, the restaurant I went wasn't very well, but the environment was clean and tidy after all! There's nothing quite like this! We're from the US and can't think of any place we've visited in the US that compares - the colors, sounds, tastes, and smells are so lively and wonderful! The best way to enjoy it is by walking at your own pace turning up and down the streets and stopping in to enjoy things you may typically not splurge on (smoky ice cream, banana crepes, rolled ice cream, temporary tattoos, etc..) and be sure to pick up some souvenirs along the way too 💕😊

A really good experience walking around the night market. Plenty to look at. Loads of food and drink stalls and bars to visit. The pictures really don't do the lanterns justice, it's just awesome to see the boats and lanterns floating down the river. You can light your own one if you wish.

One of the highlights of any trip to Vietnam.
Lanterns, lanterns and more lanterns! Besides that you have plenty of tailoring shops, leather goods, plenty of bars and restaurant from the improvised viet style chairs and table on the street to posh cafeterias.
Being a UNESCO heritage site, it could be a bit more maintained, more trees to provide shade and more pedestrian streets.
Eduardo Massoud Hervas — Google review
This place absolutely has vide for fun night. It becomes so colorful due to lanterns, it looks amazing. There are variety of local foods and goods are available in local market. However it involves lot of negotiation. It will be fun to visit during Lantern Festival at this place.
CA Joel Saralkar — Google review
**Atmosphere:** The market exudes a charming ambiance with colorful lanterns and a lively crowd from around the world and local tourists, creating a vibrant and memorable experience.
**Cultural shopping.** Explore a wide array of Vietnamese crafts, textiles, and souvenirs, providing an opportunity to immerse oneself in the local culture. Be prepared to shop around as well as haggle for the best price. Offer everything at 1/2 of the asking price and be prepared to walk away.
**Scenic Riverside Location:** The market's location along the Thu Bon River enhances the overall experience, offering beautiful views and a relaxing setting at night.
**Affordable Prices:** Compared to daytime markets, prices are reasonable, making it a budget-friendly destination for shopping and dining.
**Crowded Peak Hours:** During peak tourist hours, the market can become congested, making it challenging to navigate and enjoy the stalls comfortably.
**Limited Authenticity:** Some stalls may cater more to tourists, offering generic souvenirs rather than authentic local products, which can be disappointing for those seeking genuine cultural items. Try and venture out to the local markets if you are feeling adventurous.
**Persistent Vendors:** While part of the charm, persistent vendors at times can be overwhelming, pushing visitors to buy, creating a less relaxed shopping experience.
**Food Quality Variability:** While there are excellent food options, the quality can vary among vendors, so it's advisable to choose wisely to ensure a satisfying dining experience. Try and avoid vendors that have more foreigners than locals in their venue.

It's worth a visit though, as the sun sets everything lights up, the boats carry colourful lanterns, and tourists release candle lit lanterns into the water. It's very picturesque, and you will find plenty of instagrammers to prove it.
I suggest turning up an hour or so before sunset, give yourself time to wander the markets. After sunset you can find yourself somewhere to eat, and a lot of the more traditional stalls close up.

Beautiful scenery with all the lights and lanterns! Not for the faint-hearted if you don't like crowds. Take a boat trip in the canal (best at night) to see all the different coloured lanterns. Lots of places to eat and drink. The markets generally sell the same items as expected, up to you to find the best prices. A variety of street food available at your own peril.

I loved my hoi an trip. Its beautiful, bustling with tourists, plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from. Their is a 30 min boat ride with lanterns with very nominal charges, u can even share the ride with other tourists. Many shops for souvenirs and some great local Cuisine as well. Its a must place to visit at night
Dr Hassan Raza — Google review
The setting is beautiful. The market itself is a bit of a disappointment. Instead of selling unique foods and something authentic, the vendors hawk the same junky products from stand to stand and the girls who work at the massage parlors vie for your attention with "happy hour" sales on massages, to the point that it feels like harassment. This cheapens the whole atmosphere. If you can overlook this, the city itself is gorgeous and definitely worth the trip.

Hoi An's nightlife is enchanting, especially the night boating experience adorned with lanterns.
Drifting along the Thu Bon River amidst shimmering lights is a serene and unforgettable journey.
Afterward, explore the town's bustling markets and cozy cafes for a memorable evening filled with romance and culture.

Having been during the day, we thought we would see it at night. What a transformation!
One of the best nights we have had whilst in Vietnam. Laid back and chilled, walking the river front and buying in the market. Lots of stops along the way in some if the nicest cafes and bars. Finished of with a great value foot and leg massage. Perfect.
Huge recommendation.

Very beautiful with vibrant colors. Lanterns 🏮 make this place unique and mesmerizing. This market has several local item shops including dresses, shoes, households utensils and sometimes low grade electronics products.
Food carts were available and several restaurants and cafes were serving.
Best part of this market was lantern boat ride.

Really cute night market area! Very lively! Not a lot of food but lots to buy. Definitely go for clothes or tailoring because there are so many cheap shops and the quality of work is quite good. They are fast too so you don’t need a lot of time. The area is not big but there are a lot of side streets so you can spend a good amount of time exploring. One side is old town one side is new. New side has “walking” street after 5/5:30pm which is nice. Definitely a must visit if in Hoi An…one of our favorite night areas to explore. Great atmosphere!

It's amazing . You can spend the whole day and evening there.
Buy tickets . 150,000 dong per boat for 4 people.
We went for a boat ride around sunset. The time that place looks amazing.
The changes from day to night , the lights the illumination. Made that place like a fairytale movie.
Find some street food and souvenirs after sunset beside the road.

The night market in HoiAn is one of the most beautiful night markets in SE Asia. Full of so many unique experiences and places to visit. There are food and drink establishments in every type of atmosphere. From Old World to high-tech nightclubs.. the market has something for everyone. Trip to this Island will cost you about 500 000đ with lunch and about 30min snorkeling. You set out with on a speedboat at around 10am and the trip ends at around 2pm. It depends on the weather condition. You can get stuck on the island if the weather is bad so be cautios. Dont go on this trip if it's windy.
Overall it was ok but i would not go there second time.

Many beautiful beaches! Blue sea! Clear water! Wonderful nature! Wonderful island! 5* for the nature.
But the seafood is not good, not fresh and very expensive. The 4* - 5* restaurants in Da Nang are better and cheaper than here. 2* for the food.
Should not litter! Rubbish in the sea water, surrounded the houses, on all the way in islands ... everywhere!
All people in Cham island town discharges wastewater into the sea. What a shame. They're killing their sea, our sea. 1* for the living at Cham Island.

The Cau Temple is a notable 18th-century wooden bridge adorned with intricate carvings and a pedestrian walkway. It serves as an iconic landmark of Hoi An, originally built by the Japanese community in the late 16th century to connect with the Chinese neighborhoods. Despite some modifications over time, it has retained much of its original Japanese aesthetic design. Recently restored to its arched shape in 1986, the bridge is currently undergoing repairs and may not be accessible at times.
Beautiful tiny temple on the bridge. Glad to visit this place while it's not super crowded. Not sure what it looks like during the day but it's pretty at night, and only a block away from the Thu Bon River where there are lots of lantern boats and restaurants. It's a good ending to the short walk from the fabric district and Hoi An market.

Chua Cau, also known as the Japanese Covered Bridge, is a true architectural marvel in Hoi An, Vietnam. This iconic bridge is a testament to the rich history and cultural heritage of the town.
Stepping onto Chua Cau is like stepping back in time. The bridge's intricate design, featuring a combination of Japanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese architectural elements, is nothing short of mesmerizing. It's a perfect example of the harmonious fusion of different cultures that Hoi An is known for.
The bridge's significance in the local folklore adds an extra layer of charm. It's said to have been built by the Japanese community in the 17th century as a symbol of peace and goodwill. The statue of two dogs and two monkeys guarding the bridge is a unique touch that sparks curiosity and imagination.
Walking across Chua Cau allows you to soak in the serene beauty of Hoi An's ancient streets. The views of the Thu Bon River from the bridge are picturesque, making it a popular spot for photographers and travelers alike.
What I truly appreciate about Chua Cau is its role as a historic landmark that has been lovingly preserved. It's a symbol of Hoi An's dedication to maintaining its cultural heritage. The nearby temple, dedicated to the Taoist deity Tran Vo Bac De, adds to the spiritual aura of the area.
Whether you're a history buff, a photography enthusiast, or simply looking for a peaceful and reflective spot in Hoi An, Chua Cau is a must-visit. It's not just a bridge; it's a timeless link to Hoi An's past and a source of inspiration for all who cross its elegant arches. Don't miss the chance to experience its beauty and significance when you're in this enchanting town.

Also, buy some good leather goods. Generally, the prices are 1/3 of what fhey offer. E.g I got a bag for which i was quotes 1.3 mil Dong for 380K dong. Also, if you are with your partner, do take a lantern boat ride, it is something.

In the heart of Hoi An stands The Old House of Phung Hung, a well-preserved 18th-century merchant's residence that offers a glimpse into traditional Vietnamese architecture and the lifestyle of affluent merchant families. This historic home, once belonging to a family selling spices, silk, and chinaware, boasts original furnishings and ornate decorations.
Lovely old Hoi An house to visit. You can get a ticket for 120kVND and visit 5 sites out of a selection of 22 in the area. It's worth it and gives you a purpose for walking around and it helps maintaining the historical sites.

A beautiful old japanese house, but the emplojees are more interested in their phone than to look after the treasures. The old porcellain is hidden behind dusty glasses, dirt everywhere, and in every room there is a shopping area. Better to visit the old house next to it!

There was a guide to show us around and she told us about the history of the place before we roamed freely. Some photo taking spots..
Angela Lai — Google review
The house itself was interesting but I was quite disappointed at the guides/owners of the house because I experienced blatant racism and rudeness from them because I was south East Asian looking and I noticed other south East Asians were treated the same way as I was in that house.
I got in, they immediately checked my ticket but ignored me soon after even when I was trying to ask about the history house. However, when there were some Caucasian people coming in, they a few of them started guiding them around telling them about the history about the house.
I had to ask them point blank if one has to pay for a guide to talk about the house (which I was happy to pay for) in order to learn about the house. They said no, it’s all free and told me to listen into the people who got in at least 20 min after I did, were then greeted immediately and chauffeured by the guide in French. When I explained to them that I didn’t understand French, the lady rolled her eyes at me and then reluctantly they asked another person to guide me in English then pressured me to buy their embroideries. There was definitely element of racism there because of my appearance and perhaps they feel I don’t have the same spending power in the house. I felt quite upset by the entire experience if I were treated better I would have bought things to support that family like I have done in the other houses. I feel like this house didn’t have much to offer and didn’t understand why it was recommended in some guide books I read as I had far better experience in other houses where the guides treated everyone fairly and respectfully and houses were more interesting to explorer.

The Phung Hung ancient house is a commercial house typical of Vietnam's urban areas in the 18th century, with its unique blend of Vietnamese, Japanese and Chinese architectural styles it is symbol for the multicultural community of ancient Vietnam.
DBSK — Google review
It is a museum about the export of Vietnamese pottery with exhibitions of digs in wooden cabinets.
The real interest is the building, it shows the layout of a traditional house with the shop, courtyard, accomodation and cooking quarters. So worth exploring for that reason. Note the detailled carving of the marble slab on which the wooden pillars stand.
Clement Douault — Google review
Beautiful old house of a mixture of Vietnamese, Japanese and Chinese architecture. Very nice view from the balcony on the second floor. They also introduce you about some history and shrines at this house. Before entry they ask you about the ticket.
Robert Kramreiter — Google review
Really not worth it. You have to buy the tickets at another location, although it's not far away the walk to buy the tickets is longer than the actual 'tour'. Once inside, the 'guide' gives you a brief 2-5 minute talk about the history of the house. They take you to the souvenir section and if you don't buy anything, the 'tour' ends and you're left to look at the rest of the house by yourself which isn't much. They claim that their family still lives in the house but there were no signs of people living there.
All in all, it's just a souvenir shop advertised as a museum.
Craig — Google review

There's not much activities on the island itself, joining a snorkeling/diving tour is quite fun. The scenics are great and if you like to chill at island's beach, this is a good place.
It takes around 1 hour to reach the island from Hoi An by the slow big boat, can get seasick easily but cheaper. While the smaller fast boat takes 20 minutes and more expensive.

One can try water sport activities like Scuba Diving & Snorkeling here with their friends and family.
To reach to the island, a speed boat is used which is covered from roof. One can get mesmerizing views of sea from the window.

Let me tell you, escaping the bustle of Hoi An for a few days on the Cham Islands was pure bliss. Don't get me wrong, Hoi An is enchanting, but the islands offered a different kind of magic. The journey by high-speed ferry was a breeze, the ocean spray and salty air a welcome change.
Hòn Lao, the main island, is where we set up base. It's small enough to explore by motorbike in a day, with hidden beaches, quaint fishing villages, and enough fresh seafood to make your tastebuds do a happy dance. We rented bikes right near the harbor, and it was so liberating to just cruise along the coast, stopping whenever a beach looked too inviting to pass up.
The snorkeling was another highlight. The water was crystal clear, teeming with colorful fish and coral reefs. We even spotted a playful octopus! It wasn't the most luxurious trip, but that's part of the charm. Simple bungalows right on the beach, evenings spent under the starlit sky with the sound of waves crashing in the background - pure relaxation.
If you're looking for fancy resorts and a party scene, this isn't it. But if you crave a back-to-nature escape with stunning scenery, delicious food, and friendly locals, the Cham Islands are a dream.

I love Cham Island for a weekend getaway. I spent 3 days and 2 nights there to enjoy the slow paced life. It's literally slow, especially restaurant services. The food was cheap, fresh and delicious but I had to learn to adapt with their lifestyle. It's the same across 3 restaurants I've tried there. Please expect to wait at least 30 mins for your dishes.
Bai Xep is my fav beach - quiet, raw, no restaurant or any services, perfect to my liking. Otherwise, there are more activities at Bai Ong or Bai Huong.
One downside of this trip is the speedboat. I went with Cu Lao Sinh Company. The service was not really organised. The staff looked overwhelming. I didn't receive the info which boat or gate I should be at. The driver is the worst part. I believe he was speeding both ways which is not safe at all. I talked to a few friends and this is quite common for the boat operators speeding as they are familiar with the route, which isn't convincing me at all. Safety first!
I love Bai Xep and the people at Cham Island and would definitely go back only if the speedboat service is improved!

To be honest I probably would have left this off if I was pressed for time. The building and setting is good. The history of the pottery was really interesting and the Terracotta reliefs depicting that were amazing. But that was it for me. You buy tickets at the ticket booth we paid 105k for two adults and two kids.
They give you tickets that you can redeem for a little trinket at any shop.
I would suggest going to the water and checking out the shops there first.
They will let you try making poetry and show you some tricks.
If you want you can buy something from their shop but not required.
One shop will bake the bowl you make and let you paint it. For 30k vnd But be careful. They use air fryers for baking them, and they are not cured. Once you get back to your hotel, let them sit in the sun.

I wouldn't put the Pottery Village at the top of my list of places visit in Hoi An, I'd rather recommend the Terracotta Park right next to it.
Cosy, narrow streets take you through the village, with occasional encounters with local cats and dogs. The atmosphere was really nice here. As to the pottery shops, they mostly sold the exact same products, and some of the people working there would follow your every step as you looked around. That was a tad tiring and made it feel quite commercialised. If pottery souvenirs are what you're after, then it might still be worth it, though you can still get the exact same ones in the Pottery Park right next to it.

This is a cute morning activity if you want to get out of Hoi An without going too far. It's mostly for tourists, but it is interesting to walk around and chat with the families that make their living from pottery. there's a paid attraction, but it's just a park with a bunch of pottery in different shapes. An easy trip from Hoi An and nice beach, places to eat, swimming and generally pleasant place for an afternoon of chilling out. Although we had to push my wife in a wheel chair following her breaking an ankle. So maybe not much swimming for her.

Very nice beach. Much more relaxed than many other beaches. Needs a bit of a cleanup in some places (take your garbage with you!) and could use a few more water activities, but we were also there right after they reopened after Covid.

It is a nice beach but with a fair bit going on. You can relax in a deck chair, hire a boogie board, get food or a drink. The beach is good rather than great but is long and clean. It was a good relaxing experience to explore and good for people watching too. Worth a visit if in Hoi An

The place is so beautiful. The beach is clean and the water is blue. You can lie down on the chairs and watch the sea or go and take a dip in the water. We stayed back to watch the sunset and it was one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever witnessed. The sky turned into beautiful colours 🥹 you can find many cafés near this beach so make sure you check them out. Don’t miss this beach on your trip to Hoi An. 🌷

Lovely beach with plenty of bars/restaurants to get a drink or a bite to eat. We cycled there few times from our hotel. Roads are cyclists friendly, takes 20 min to get there. Highly recommend 👍🏻

Nice, clean beach with umbrellas available to rent. I think we may have paid 100k each, but it was hot, they were comfortable and the lady wasn't pushy. The water was cool and refreshing and it wasn't too busy. Plenty of cafes and restaurants around, and the ladies will bring you drinks.

A really nice beach. Can't believe how warm the water is. Plenty of places to buy food and drink from aswell. If you want an ice cream walk down the road about 3 minutes and you'll come to a proper ice cream shop that does waffle cones for 20k and 2 scoops of a flavour for another 20k. Much better than 30k ice cream on the beach front. Note the picture is already half eaten :) Sunbeds are available, but you are better off buying a cocktail and getting the sunbed for nothing 👍

When you arrive on the beach, it is clearly Saint Tropez. Clusters of tourists on paid deckchairs with a ton of locals offering you services of all kinds every 5 minutes. Don't run too far, simply walk along the beach with your feet in the water for 5 to 10 minutes and you will find a much quieter area where you can listen to the sound of the waves and swim peacefully!

It was quite dirty and faded in my eyes, I imagine it was lovely 20 years ago. A definite Backpackers feel to it. The atmospheric haze didn't help. Still could be used for a drunken 4 days with detox hangover in padded deck chair.

Spent 6 hrs there, good service, chair ,drinks and food less than 20 aud.

Nice beach with free scooter parking at the entrance, be careful of those ladies in straw hats trying to wave you down to park in their cafes. The restaurant owners will try to charge you $50k vnd to use the beach chairs however the beach is very nice with plenty of shops and stalls around.

Great location to visit now, because it looks like it could get swollowed up by high rise development in the next decade.
Currently small rustic restaurants and cafes right on the waterfront and plenty of hostel/ homestays to stay at.
Stayed 6 days all up, and would definitely stay again, if it doesn't get over developed.

Really good beach to relax and take a break. It was clean and not too crowded. There were no showers available but it was still a great experience. If you have to park a scooter or bike, a guy will charge you 5k for the "service". Do not pay more than that.

Being from Western Australia I’m a brat when it comes to beaches. My experiences with SE Asian beaches did not give me a good impression of beaches outside of WA and I was reluctant to spend the morning sitting on a deck chair staring at the water. My partner however convinced me to go as she had been there before and she assured me that it’s a good beach.. and indeed it was. The water was cool, clear and refreshing and being a 35C day there was not a better place to be. The hotel pool was warm and full of people but here, you have views which are picturesque to say the least, with a huge selection of beachside bars to choose from. What I like about this beach is that it’s not polluted and teaming with motorised watercraft. It’s peaceful, tranquil and you can order a cocktail, beer or coffee to sit and catch some sun then dive into the cool water of the sea. Highly recommended to spend the morning/afternoon/evening especially if your hotel runs a shuttle bus to the beach. I believe they have happy hour and live music in the evening as well.

A little bit dirty, probably because of stro g waves and wind. Nevertheless, we enjoyed walking on it - long, interesting views, many restaurants and bars to grab a coffee, beer and relax, while listening to sounds of the sea. At the end, local gym:) there is a parking you have to pay at the entrance but you dont have to use it. We arrived by a bicycle and left it a bit further

A Tranquil Oasis by the Sea
An Bang Beach in Hoi An is a hidden gem that captivates with its natural beauty and tranquility. The best time to visit is during the early morning or late afternoon, when the sun paints the sky in hues of orange and pink, casting a magical glow over the pristine sand.
The beauty of the beach is complemented by the enchanting basket boat rides, providing a unique and immersive experience. Glide through the calm waters and witness the picturesque scenery that surrounds you.
Indulge in fresh seafood at the beachside eateries, where the catch of the day is expertly prepared. Don't miss the chance to savor traditional Vietnamese dishes, adding a delicious touch to your beach day.
Parking is conveniently available near the beach, ensuring easy access for visitors. The local vendors are friendly and eager to share insights about the area, creating a welcoming atmosphere.

Spend the day at Dolphin kitchen and bar by the beach. IReally clean facilities. It was just what the Dr order. When we arrived we were told we get towels, beach lounge, access to shower and toilets and free wifi if you buy a drink. We spent almost 5 hrs there . Went for a quick splash in the water, non patrol beach and surf is really rough so be careful, but it was worth it . The water was just the right temperature. Around lunch time more people arrived but heard employee telling them that for 1 drink they could stay for 1 hour with all the inclusions. We were not pushed to consume more drinks or food but we did end up having more than a couple of drinks and food to go with them . Got back to hotel feeling very relaxed. We got a grab from hotel to beach costing us just a couple of AUD each way.

Beautiful beach with many restaurants and sunbeds. If you wanna lay down, either you can pay 50 000 VND per day or buy something to drink or eat 😊

Nice beach. Much nicer near An Bang than further down (towards the right. Opposite direction from DaNang). That area is quieter, but has a lot of garbage.
Was nice to have some relaxing beach time without having to travel all the way to Phu Quoc.

a bit wavy, good for surfing beginners but not good for swimming. surf boards available for rental. lots of restaurants by the beach and they usually provide free sunbeds and beach umbrellas for diners.
