Bomdila monastery or also known as the Gentse Gaden Rabgyel Lling monastery is simply beautiful.
The prayer room is huge. And when the kanas do their chanting the place reverberates in a magical way.
There are lots of kids there too. Kids of all ages. All trying to grow in their spiritual journey.
I made friends with a few. They are fun to be with. And they are inquisitive…. They have some many questions.
I stayed in a lodge/hotel right in front of the monastery. The food was good.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bomdila Monastery, and it was truly a serene and spiritually uplifting experience. Tucked away in the picturesque hills of Arunachal Pradesh, this monastery is a hidden gem that should not be missed.
The journey to Bomdila Monastery is an adventure in itself, with winding roads that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Upon reaching the monastery, I was immediately struck by its traditional Tibetan architecture and the sense of peace that envelops the entire area.
The prayer flags fluttering in the mountain breeze, coupled with the soothing chants of monks, create an atmosphere of tranquility that is hard to find elsewhere. The monastery's well-maintained grounds and colorful decorations add to its charm, making it a perfect place for both spiritual reflection and quiet contemplation.
Inside the monastery, the vibrant and intricately painted murals tell stories of Buddhist teachings, offering visitors a glimpse into the rich cultural and religious heritage of the region. The prayer hall is a serene space where one can witness the monks engaged in their rituals, providing a unique and immersive experience.
I also had the chance to interact with some of the monks, who were welcoming and eager to share their knowledge about Buddhism and the monastery's history. Their warmth and hospitality added a personal touch to my visit.
In conclusion, Bomdila Monastery is a must-visit destination for those seeking a peaceful retreat in the midst of nature. Whether you are a spiritual seeker, a history enthusiast, or simply someone looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this monastery offers a rejuvenating experience that stays with you long after you leave. I highly recommend taking the time to explore this hidden treasure in the mountains.

Also known as Gentse Gaden Rabgyel Lling monastery, Bombdila monastery was built in 1965 by the twelfth incarnation of the TsonaGontse Rinpoche. And was rebuilt by the thirteenth reincarnation, TsonaGontseRinponche renovated the monastery by building a larger prayer hall.
Inside the Gompa, there's a huge prayer, which is used by the lamas for praying; the temple of Buddha, and a tiny quarter of monks. Apart from its religious significance, the monastery is also known for its natural beauty. Stunning vistas that you can see from here are fabulous and breathtaking.

It’s a place of worship and faith so one can’t really review it. It features in all the tourist guides as a place of visit. So if you are someone who like to tick off all the places to visit in your travel or someone who is interested in visiting places that are calm and gives a feeling of peace and serenity, this is definitely a place to visit in the small town of Bomdila, which serves as stop overs for people going towards Tawang or going back from there.
The monastery has a new wing and an old part and is on Top if a hill so you have some good views of the town below as well. If it’s cloudy then you may not see the town yet it gives a good serene fee with in.

A Buddhist Monastery situated at Bomdila. Surrounded by natural beauty. With a prayer hall, and a quarter for monks.
It was built in the year 1965.
Venkatachalapathy Chengalvarayanaidu — Google review
A religious place. Just before reaching the monastery a small market is set which consists of various items. They are a bit pricey for the ones if you reside in plains but for the mountain region it is understandable.
Other than that it is usually peaceful but it happened to be a religious ceremony on the day I visited so it was quite crowded.

Agnigarh is a famous hillside area with a rich history rooted in Hindu mythology. The park features numerous historic sculptures and offers breathtaking viewpoints of the surrounding area, including the Brahmaputra river. However, visitors should be prepared to climb several steps to reach the top, which may be difficult for elderly individuals. Once at the summit, visitors can enjoy a small park and garden while admiring a bird's eye view from the watchtower.
Good viewpoint off the shores of Brahmaputra river..Nice depiction of History in this place..A watchtower is present here to get bird eye view of the entire place. Inside the premise small park and garden is also there. Nice place to hang out with family, kids and friends.

Agnigarh is a picturesque lookout point with stunning views. However, the journey involves numerous stairs, potentially challenging for the elderly or physically disabled. The area is adorned with well-maintained trees. To enhance the experience, improvements in maintenance are recommended, as some railings at the lookout point were found cracked. Despite this, it remains a beautiful spot for those who can navigate the stairs comfortably.

I recently visited Agnigarh, also known as the Fire Fort, and had an amazing experience. The fort is situated on a hilltop overlooking the town of Bundi, and offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The architecture of the fort is also impressive, with its red sandstone walls and well-preserved temples and palaces. I was a little disappointed to see that some parts of the fort are in ruins, and that there is a lot of garbage scattered around. I think it would be great if the authorities could take some steps to clean up the fort and restore the ruined parts. I also think that shops should not have been opened inside the fort, as they detract from the historical atmosphere. I had a great time at Agnigarh, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in history and architecture. However, I think the authorities could do a better job of preserving the fort and keeping it clean.

Agnigarh Hill is a hillock on the bank of the Brahmaputra River. The mythological romance associated with the location is well known. According to Hindu legend, Aniruddha, Lord Krishna's grandson, and Usha, the daughter of the asura monarch Banasura, had fallen in love. Banasura, on the other hand, did not approve of the relationship and imprisoned Aniruddha in another location while keeping his daughter Usha in this location in seclusion. It was thought that this location had a fire boundary that no one could cross without the permission of Banasura, hence it was named Agnigarh, or the fort of fire. This is currently one of the most well-known tourist destinations in the area.

Giving 4 stars for the nostalgic memories associated with this place. visited this place twice in my lifetime but as a kid it was my first adventurous trip of witnessing wild animals. Truly that feeling and experience can't be described in words. Though now there's not much animals left in the zoo, also the variety of animals kept here is less but still one can visit here.

Had a great time at Assam State Zoo. I went with my family and we beheld the mesmerizing sights of the nature including natural view, animals such as deers, zebras, tigers, lions and much more. But we could not see the black panthers and white tigers. Hope to visit again in future ✌🏻.

A wonderful beautiful zoo in this city of Guwahati. I and my whole family had a great time. There are birds, tigers, bears and many other things in this zoo. It took a whole day to explore here. Buying tickets online is faster. All zoos open at 8:30. Animals are outside in the morning. One horned rhinoceros is special in this zoo. I like it so much that I will come again and again with my family.
Debanjan Chakrabarti — Google review
We visited the zoo on a Saturday, and we booked the tickets online. After entering, they do a security check, you have yo leave your bag there. They do not allow you to carry any bags or food, which is a good thing as it reduces the risk of visitors feeding the animals. There is no cafe or anything available to eat for tourists or visitors inside the zoo. The zoo is not in a very good condition. It requires a lot of maintenance
We saw the black panther, hippopotamus, gibbons, lions, tigers, alligator, snakes, foxes, crocodile, pelicans, bears and monkeys and on the way out we saw the ecological museum which was the highlight of our trip. The skins of some of the zoo animals that died have been preserved by stuffing them. Then there were eco toilets for which we had we paid 5 rs per person. Those who can not walk long distances can use the buggies, charges per person are rs 50. Just wish that the drivers would know more about the animals. While coming out there is a souvenir shop which has some interesting things to buy.

Wonderful and amazing zoo to see fauna of eastern India. Species of deer, monkeys, snakes, birds etc. can be found here. Leopard, tiger and lions can be seen. Few species of snakes can also be found. A museum at entry gate must be visited as real skins, bones and bodies of dead animals are exhibited here for tourists. The zoo fees is Rs 30/- and it takes nearly 2 hours to cover whole zoo.

This zoo is situated in the heart of Guwahati. In complete natural environment you can see the animals, birds and trees. It has a good parking area .. Nice place to relax.
They have animals missing from many other zoos.
As of march 2024 they do have rhinos, tigers, lions, giraffes, hippos and black panthers to name a few.
The zoo has an entry fee of 35-40 rupee and the ticket can be easily bought on the zoo's website to save time, the area of zoo is somewhat of a hilly terrain and if you are with elderly there are battery powered car services available in the zoo for small cost.
There are several small shops inside the zoo selling juice ( mango, watermelon etc) but no food. The only food shop is in the parking lot.
The animals seemed healthy but the zoo can have some renovation as the water for drinking for animals is dirty.
I don't mind paying more for entry fees if it means that animals can have a better life in zoo.

The zoo doesn't have too many animals but it's still worth it because:
1) you get to get very close to the 3-4 different types of deer.
2) you can view a lot of birds in the aviaries.

The temple is situated a few kilometers away from the Guwahati Railway Station, and is open for visitors throughout the year. There is a legend attached to the history of the temple, which goes way back to the mythological age. According to the legend, Sati the wife of Lord Shiva (one of the holy Trinities in Hindu mythology) took her life at a 'Yagna' ceremony that had been organized by her father Daksha, because she could not bear the insults hurled at her husband by her father. On hearing the news of his wife's death, Shiva, the destroyer of all that was evil flew into a rage and punished Daksha by replacing his head with that of a goat. Torn between misery and blind fury, Shiva picked up the corpse of his beloved wife Sati and performed a dance of destruction called the 'Tandava'. The intensity of the destroyer's fury was so overwhelming that it took several Gods to pacify his anger. In the midst of this struggle, Sati's corpse accidentally got cut into 51 parts by the disc in the hands of Lord Vishnu (also one of the Trinities in Hindu mythology), and her female genitalia or 'Yoni' fell on the spot where the Kamakhya temple stands today, forming one of the many Shakti 'Peethas' embellishing the rest of her body parts.

The intricate carvings and architecture of the temple are also noteworthy and add to the overall beauty of the complex. I didn't like it for some reason. Outside shop keeper run after you to drop your footwear there and buy something from. Its good foe local economy but after a time it looks like harrasment to devotees and tourist.
After entering in Temple it was good feeling but then suddenly I saw slaughter house inside and one big animal may be cow recently slaughtered. There were many small goats (lambs) I was feeling sad to see them getting ready to be cut.
Overall, temple is good but people around and locals are making it bad.

The Umananda Temple is around 5-10 km from here and you have to reach there by taxi or your personal vehicle and then take a ferry or private boat to reach the island as It is situated in between the River Brahmaputra. Assam has been blessed with so many grateful things but this temple just made it to a favourite place of Hindu devotees.

I have no words to express the spirituality of maa kamakhya. Wonderful experience.
In these days of COVID situation, you need to show Rapid antigens test report to the office near the entrance gate. If all good then they will give a pass for darshan inside garv greh. If not then you can enter the temple premise and do puja only.
If you don’t have report then there are camps doing it in the city down the hill. Report comes in max 1-2 hrs.
Temple opens at 8am in winters. Due to COVID there was no rush in morning. At 7:30am there were only 10-15 people ahead of me. Darshan was peaceful and pandit jee gave enough time. Wonderful...
Please do plan to visit this temple and be blessed!

One of the most popular destination places in all over Assam state. An ancient temple in Assam near guwahati. The temple has its own mysterious story according to 'PURANA'. Very beautiful and devotional place in all over India. It is a good tourist attraction who comes to visit in the state of Assam. The temple is modified time to time by state government.

Very poor management for this holy shrine.Your patience would be tested, So plan accordingly and be ready for disappointment. U will have to end up standing in the queue for 7-9hrs atleast.
The temple premises is terribly maintained when compared to most major temples in the country.

•A place of many people's unwavering faith, Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati is a major destination for all the people seeking spirituality, peace and devotion.
•It was my third time visiting here but this time i decided to go inside the main shrine, the journey to which is an experience. It will put your devotion and patience to test.
•After standing in the queue for around 6 hours, we reached the main shrine.
•There are VIP lines also where you have to pay Rs. 501 to get early access in there.
•You'll be amazed by the level of devotion people have in today's date. It is almost overwhelming.
•I would recommend to get started early morning to be able to complete the tasks before noon itself.
•To mention, the environment of the area is really calming and gives you positive vibes.
•A visit is recommended for those who believe and spirituality and finding inner peace.
•In the noon, there is distribution of free lunch for which you'll have to get coupon and stand in the queue.

The temple is famous for the sacrifice of animals like innocent baby goats, pigeons. In the temple they force you to pay money in the name of god. If you are planning to visit here please don't. Visit some other temples. It's my honest opinion.

The Sri Kamakhya Temple is amazing! It feels so peaceful and special inside. The colors and design of the temple are really pretty. When they do the rituals, it makes the place even more interesting. And the view from the temple is so nice. If you want a calm and cultural experience, you should definitely visit Sri Kamakhya Temple. It's a beautiful and memorable place to go.
Unlike other temples, you get a lot of time inside the garbhagriha and can do a proper prayer.

Very bad place in my opinion. Because Here people with VIP tickets enters easily, but normally tourists have to wait hours to enter the temple. I have to wait 6 hrs to visit the temple and the VIP ticket persons [ Rs. 500-1000] enters easily without even waiting. Though it's a good place to visit but they shouldn't do this with normal poor visitors. So, I rate it 1 star only .
Purva Tirupati Sri Balaji Temple, renowned for its South Indian style architecture and imposing stone idols, is a tranquil and serene place of worship. The temple boasts well-maintained park-like grounds that enhance its beauty. Located by the highway with ample free parking space, it is easily accessible to visitors. However, photography within the temple premises is prohibited.
Good place to visit when you are in Guwahati. The atmosphere is pristine and the temples are beautiful by its own unique design and quality. Best time to visit this is in the evening. You can definitely go for a stroll through the gardens.

The infrastructure of Tirupati Balaji Temple is incredible. And it is very peaceful to be around the temple and the temple is also very hygienic, neat and clean.
And before darshan, the visitors are asked to put their shoes in the shoe stand for 1 rupee per pair.
There's also another store where prasad is sold for 80 rupees per pair of Ladoo.
The temple is surrounded by an outdoor garden, however, the visitors are not allowed to go and sit there due to covid protocols. However, even after putting posters of "No mask, No entry" and "Double dose of covid vaccination is mandatory for Darshan", the security doesn't check if the visitors are wearing masks or not and they also don't check if they are double vaccinated or not. This is quite reckless from their end as most of the visitors are going for darshan without wearing masks.
Apart from that, Balaji Temple provides parking and there's also a food joint next to the parking which provides delicious south Indian Food.

Purva Balaji Mandir Guwahati is a wonderful example of temple construction.
This temple as its name is called Tirupati Temple, it is built exactly like the temple of Andhra Pradesh.
Purva(East) is added because of its location (Guwahati,Assam)
In a West Mehndipur Balaji Mandir located in Rajsthan.
In a South Main Temple Tirupati Bala ji located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.
✴️Main attraction~
📌Scenic Temple artwork
📌Very attractive Temple Garden
📌Large park
📌Clean environment
📌Mannezed Parking
⚠️Mask required 😷
The temple is divided into the following parts.
In the beginning there is a separate temple of Lord Ganesha.
After that there is a very clean park.
Now there are two gates side by side with one main gate.
All three represent the three temples inside.
There is a temple of Balaji in front of the main gate.
And there is a temple of Durga Mata and Radha Krishna ji in two adjacent gates.
All the three temples are built from inside in the middle of the gardens.
⚠️️It is strictly forbidden to take photos only inside the temple. The security personnel are very strict in this matter. I have made a failed attempt myself.
The parking system is very well organized.
There are stalls selling food and snacks in a very neat and organized manner.
Evening time is good enough to visit.
✴️If you are in Guwahati then definitely visit once.

The Tirupati Balaji Temple is a magnificent temple of the city, Guwahati. This shrine is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara and is considered to be a very holy place for the Hindu pilgrims. The temple has a very unique architectural design and is built over a large area of land.

Dedicated Lord Venkateswara, Purva Tirupati Sri Balaji Mandir was built in the year 1998. Sprawling over 2 acres, the temple is considered as the replica of the original Tirupati Balaji Temple. There is a Ganesha Temple at the entrance of the complex. The main temple is the home of Lord Balaji. The Balaji temple in Guwahati is spread out in a two acres land and the complex also includes other adjacent temples. At the entrance of the temple complex, there is a Ganesha temple.
The center temple which also is the main temple is dedicated to Lord Balaji and is constructed in the middle. The temple has an idol of Balaji deity carved out of a single stone weighing around 4 tones. There are also temples of Goddess Padmavathi and Garuda, the Vahana of Lord Balaji on the premises. Besides a Rajagopuram, the main temple has the beautiful Maha Mandapam, the Sanctum of the temple and Ardha Mandapam.
The Gopurams are constructed in sync with the South Indian architectural style like the Tirupati Balaji temple with heights ranging from 8 feet in the Ganesh temple to around 70 feet in the Rajagopuram.
The temple looks beautiful with pure white architectural structures and images of deities carved out in the walls. The wooden doors of the temple are handcrafted in Chennai and bear beautiful carvings.
There is also a garden park located outside the temple for tourists to enjoy the scenic beauty. There is also a Goddess Durga temple towards the right hand side of the main temple built on the outlook that Guwahati also id the seat of Goddess Kamakhya with the Kamakhya temple located in the Nilachal hills.
The temple premises also have a Yagasala built recently for performing yagnas. In addition to that, there is an auditorium decorated with beautiful interiors and exquisitely designed statues.
The Asthanamandapan hall auditorium features cultural functions of classical and folk music gatherings regularly during Sundays. The Dasavathar of Lord Vishnu has been beautifully depicted in the Asthanamandapan hall. The temple is well illuminated during night with glowing lights and can be seen from a distance.

One of the cynosures of the Phuentsholing town. It's a Buddhist temple. People from all walks of life congregate here for a wisp of fresh air and seek refuge in the Buddhist doctrine. It has prayer wheels, a park, and some site beautifications done making an iconic structure in the town.
Note: this site has been plotted twice. The other one is "Zangtopelri" and I didn't realise I had already reviewed it years ago.
It, as it seems, is the only place in the town that is quaint and refreshing amidst the hustle and bustle in its surrounding spaces. It is also an instant attraction to the people passing by the same particularly, the Indian residents. I have often seen them frequent this place for site-seeing and some clicks.
The place is suitable for a visit for people of all ages. As you can see, there are some elderly who come here to pray and circumambulate; there are teens who come here to meet their friends; there are kids who enjoy playing there; and there are some shoppers too who come there for some rest too.
And lately, the setting up of open gym inside this facility has added more to this place. Worth a visit, for sure.

Buxa Tiger Reserve is in the northeastern corner of West Bengal, bordering Bhutan and Assam. Buxa Tiger Reserve was set up on 16th of February, 1983 and was then, the 15th tiger reserve of the country. The forest constituting the Buxa Tiger Reserve is the largest in Dooars - the alluvial floodplains of Northeast India. Spanning over a whopping 759 sq. km., this tiger reserve is irrigated by several rivers and their tributaries. It boasts of a diverse and breathtaking landscape. In fact, because of the rocky terrain, many parts of the forest in the Buxa hills that lie in the Sinchula Range are inaccessible even by the authorities, and hence remain unexplored even after so many years!
Another interesting fact about this tiger reserve is that it serves as an international corridor for the migration of elephants between India and Bhutan. This is because the Phipsu Wildlife Sanctuary in Bhutan is adjacent to the northern part of the Buxa Tiger Reserve. This reserve is home to 67 species of mammals, 36 species of reptiles and 230 species of unidentified flora and fauna and encompasses more than eight types of forests. The great diversity of mammals in this reserve makes it the second highest among all tiger reserves in India.

Buxa Tiger Reserve is a beautiful area encompassing forests, hills and rivers. It covers a large area and contains a variety of flora and fauna. The same forest extends eastwards into the Manas Wildlife Sanctuary in Assam. Not all areas of this reserve are accessible, and there are few places to stay in the vicinity due to restrictions on construction of hotels and resorts by the court. One needs to take a permit from the Forest Office as Rajabhatkhawa. We paid Rs.880/- for 4 persons plus vehicle. Photo ID is required. There is a Nature Interpretation Centre nearby, which provides information about birds and animals in the sanctuary. You can spend some time.there and leave your comments. The drive to Jayanti was lovely. We took the afternoon Jeep Safari at 1.30 pm which cost Rs.1500/- for 4 persons inclusive of everything. The jungle was quite dense in parts and we came across a herd of elephants at a water hole. A magnificent sight! The river Jayanti flows through this reserve. There is no online booking for this safari. Jayanti/Buxa should definitely be included in your itinerary if you visit the Dooars. The sheer natural beauty of the place is amazing

Carry face covering masks, shades, cap or wrap around as red soil will ensure you get a good covering from it. Overall a great outing!!!

I had hoped to go there for a long time and suddenly that hope was fulfilled. I went there one day and felt the beauty there but I am not satisfied.I'm not satisfied because I had a great hope that I would go there and see the things that the kings used but I didn't see most of them because most of the rooms were closed and locked only 7 to 8 rooms were open where only few object was given. I looked around the whole area and realized that there was nothing much to see except the building of the king Yes but it has to be admitted that the building that Raja has is very beautiful and very beautiful design at that time it is really a commendable thing to give such a beautiful design. The staff there are very nice, they behave very well and they take good care of the place.

Very majestic palace where we can witness the mastery of craftsmanship. It's too large and you can explore the area . But only a few rooms are open to public and you can't visit the rest. So only go to visit the outer beauty of the palace. I hope more rooms are opened to public since there are so many

For the visitors:
*You have to buy tickets (physically or also available in online)
*You are not allowed to enter with bags, foods, plastic packets

It's just a beautiful place.... In the middle of the green grassy field the palace is situated.... The garden is decorated with the trees.... Also the palace is beautiful....
But there's one problem, nobody can carry luggage (specialy cloths,foods).... So if the authority make a place where everyone can keep their luggages it will be helpful....

Mind-blowing place and so clean. I have visited recently there and grasp a lot of things that i will never forgot. This building is so much reddish and inside camera is not allowed .

Nothing much to say about the palace, it's a heritage, rich in culture.
But the guards are disappointing, they don't allow selfie stick even when the museum is closed and only the garden or outer palace is open for tourists (on Fridays). What harm a selfie stick can do? Also they don't have any place to stock up the things that are not allowed inside.

We started our journey from Madarihat which is around 100 km away from Samsing/Suntalikhola. We were five persons in the group. One of the main attractions was beautiful tea gardens both the sides in our way to. Samsing. At Suntalikhola you have to take the local car from the spot for the sightscene. They charge you Rs 400 for almost nothing. So we dropped the plan and decided to travel by walk. First we went to hanging bridge. Then started to trek few km up towards muchaki army camp. There is a nice spot to take a look to the beautiful villages in this route. Foods are overpriced, you will find few local restaurants at Suntalikhola stand.

Gorumara National Park is a vast floodplain and forest national park that covers an expansive area of almost 50 square miles. The park houses diverse wildlife, including rhinos, elephants, and leopards. For visitors looking to explore the park, it's recommended to opt for a jungle safari rather than a watch tower Safari. The best time for a jungle safari is during morning slots when chances of spotting an elephant are particularly high.
It's a bliss...endless stretch of greenery and the fresh air. The safari is a must-try here and one of the main attractions. There are 3 timings for safari: 6am,9am and 2pm. The early morning 6am slot timing is the best for safari. Tickets prices are: Rs.450 per head including a guide, plus another Rs.150 per vehicle entry fee. Each vehicle(top open gypsy jeeps) takes 4 passengers + 1 guide + 1 driver. You need to stand in line to get tickets and don't forget to take a xerox of your Aadhar card/other govt. id. There is a huge rush, so reach way before the timing and get a spot in the line(they have about 20 vehicles going per slot). The ticket counter is about 1km from Lake View Resort towards the market. Even if spotting a few animals here depends on luck, missing the wild experience would be a big mistake. There are 25 different kinds of orchids found here apart from many other trees worth watching. Amidst the forests, there are 2 tribal villages here. The roads running through the dense green forest on either side and the never-ending flow of cold breeze is perfect for any nature lover. It purifies your soul. A must-visit place for anyone willing to get a blend of little altitude, forest, small rivers and quiet, peaceful surroundings in the lap of nature.

Visited Gorumara National park for the first time. Had Jungle Safari by Gypsy, which costs 1935 for six persons including guide. The experience was good but we had bad luck. We couldn't spot any animal except some birds ( Hornbill and peacock). Although my expectations were not satisfied, the overall experience was good.

"Absolutely mesmerizing experience at Gorumara Tiger Reserve! From the moment you enter, the dense forest embraces you, with picturesque tea farms on your left, setting the perfect scene for adventure. The thrill of encountering elephants is unmatched, and the observation points offer blissful moments for photographers and sightseers alike. It truly feels like stepping into a dreamful spot where nature's wonders unfold before your eyes. An amazing experience that left me in awe of the beauty of our natural world!

Gorumara National Park is one of the most dense forests of West Bengal. Sometimes I felt it denser than Jaldapara. It’s a big forest with a huge variety of wild animals and a number of plants. The main attraction of Gorumara National Park is the Jeep Safari from NIC Lataguri to Jatraprasad Watch Tower. The best timing for the Jeep Safari is 3:30 PM to 5 PM because this time there is much possibility to find wild animals especially Elephant, Peacocks and Deers. The Rhino is also a main attraction of this place. In the evening time you can feel the silence of deep forest which can’t be felt in the morning or afternoon. Online booking is available at West Bengal Forest Department Website. You can book the Safari online and enjoy the wildlife beauty.

Roads are covered with large forest bed, we visited here during month of May, 2023. Couldn't spot any wild life here during day time, early morning around 4-5 am is the good time to see movement of elephants across the roads. Must visit this place from Siliguri, roads are remarkably nice!

It's all about luck here. If luck favours you, you can behold the sight of the Indian elephants, barking deers, peacocks and the Indian Rhino. The guides are very skilled and can spot them at one go. We had the time slot from 6am to 7:30am. The coolness of the fresh air and the morning sun will add an extra edge to the safari.

Gorumara National Park is in Northern West Bengal, India. Located in Dooars region (foothills of Himalaya). It is a small forest preliminary habitat of Indian rhinoceros. Apart from this it has got varieties of elephant, bison, leopards, wild cats and birds. Also so many insects.
Lovely place to visit with friends and family during weekends. This park has safari timings at both morning and evening for very less number of tourists. Therefore, getting a chance to have safari inside the jungle is really wonderful experience.
Debarshi Maity — Google review
Safari program not exciting at all. Offline morning booking available morning at before 5AM .ticket processing and ride start from 6AM slot wise.
If enjoy safari program then confirm online book at Jaldapara National Park and stay not Lataguri. It is my views and experience based on multiple area local public. However other than jungle safari like peripheral sightseeing is fine.

Service from Gorumara national park is good like pick up from your kpdtc resort and drop.
They have a dedicated folk dance show after the safari if it is in the evening.
But if you are interested in seeing animals this safari is not for you.
Hardly you can spot any animals.
We got to see only peacock and bison.

Recently we have visited this National Forest. We booked our safari car from the gate of Murti Banani Resort. There is a hike in the tariff has been observed for the jeep safari. We took the safari in the afternoon at 3:30 PM.
We found peacock, elephants, bison & dears during our safari. But, most importantly it was the vibes of the jungle that we enjoyed most. It was really a dense jungle & certainly well maintained by the authority.

Nature at its best. Preferably stay st Kalipur Eco Village run by Forest Department. They only have four trees houses in the property amidst tree garden and jungle. Stay itself is thrilling. Food is basic but tasty, special mention Mr Biswanath who always there to take care of you. Don't expect any luxury, everything is basic, just enjoy the nature. Ample car parking space. You can also enjoy tribal dance in the evening.

It’s located next to Kalimpong city. I stayed one night in the guest house, with gst one room costs around 4000rs . Rooms has a good feeling, wall , floor all has wooden finish. Restaurant is there , but you have to order before what you want to have( choices are few). As I stayed there , that particular night I was the only person staying in that guest house other than one old couple in one room and one cook and caretaker. As soon as night appears , a bit haunted feeling comes . I tried to go to the pine garden but an owl or some animal shouted so loud I changed my mind instantly. But I must say you must stay at least one night in the guest house to experience the awesome feeling. A lot of homestays are there with a cheaper price. But it has another satisfaction if you stay one night there. A lot of things are there in the park , horse riding, and other activities. Next to the parks gate paragliding counters are there. 3500 rs per person if you want to do paragliding.

Wandering through the enchanting wonderland of diverse cactus and succulent varieties was a botanical adventure like no other. The vast array of large cacti and succulents, most of which were previously unknown to me, added an element of delightful surprise to the experience. Each plant seemed to tell a unique story, creating an immersive journey for anyone with an appreciation for the intricate beauty of nature.
If you're a plant enthusiast or simply curious about the fascinating world of succulents, this destination is an absolute must-visit. The botanical collection here is not just a garden; it's a living tapestry of nature's creativity, showcasing the stunning diversity within the cactus and succulent families.
On the flip side, my only gripe was the price tag on the food and drinks – a bit on the steeper side. Despite that, the botanical bliss made the visit totally worthwhile! 🌵🌿

The pine view nursery is basically a nursery of cactus. You can see numerous cacti species in the greenhouses with detailed descriptions. Botanists will find this very encouraging. However, there are also some seasonal flowering plants around in the garden.
There are some small cafe available inside for chilling out, their juices are actually pretty good at a reasonable price.
The ticket prices when I went in November 2023 was ₹ 20 per head and ₹30 parking charge.
The best way to visit here is Kalimpong sight seen. You can do it one day tour with Delo park, durpin dara monestry, Science city, Morgan house ect.

Pine View Nursery is really an amazing experience...a rare collection of various cacti and orchids, a real beauty for every cactus lovers. Kalimpong is itself a Nature's Paradise... Pineview is a jem of its garland. This private collection of Mr. M.S.Pradhan and his family is really fascinating. Though the Nursery is not very big, the place is scenic.. here one can also stay a night with all these beauties as there is homestay facility and a cafeteria available within the premises. One can buy cactus and orchid saplings also. Everything is fine except one thing...the entry price and car parking charge is a bit costly... private collection for personal enjoyment is now taking the shape of a business.

Very nice and large cactus nursery. Well maintained. Feeling awesome to see different varieties of cactus.

Has a huge collection of cactus plants of different varieties. It’s really great to see so many types of cactus at one place. However, there isn’t much to see over here. Apart from the cactus, the place is pretty ordinary. Don’t waste too much of your time here. The washroom here had no water, no lights, wasn’t clean enough and you still have to pay additional Rs 10 for it to use it.

One of the most beautiful and picturesque places in Jalpaiguri district to visit if you are looking for a peaceful and picturesque spot where you can relax and take your time to enjoy the beauty of nature. This hidden gem in the mountains and valleys of West Bengal offers stunning views for miles in every direction. The bridge is an impressive piece of engineering and the viewpoint itself is a great spot for taking photos and admiring the views from various angles. The bridge is a fun and interesting structure to walk across, and there are benches for you to sit and enjoy the view. Most of the time, there is not much traffic in the area. If you are ever visiting West Bengal, you should definitely visit this place. The views are simply stunning and you will not want to miss this place.

mesmerizing engineering marvel that spans across the Teesta River in India. Its graceful arches and sturdy structure make for a picturesque sight. The bridge not only connects two regions but also connects people with its beauty. Standing on it, you can witness the breathtaking views of the river and surrounding landscapes. Mayfair Darjeeling is a 5-star luxury resort hotel in Darjeeling, considered one of the best places to stay in the Himalayas. With its opulent architecture and lush surroundings, this iconic hotel is perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway, busy business travelers looking for an efficient base camp, or families with children seeking a safe and fun playground.
This hotel is hands down the best place to stay in Darjeeling, such lovely view from the room. Love their vintage and english type of interior. My room had a fire place which was so amazing. About a km away from the main market which is walkable. Staff are also humble and attentive. Food was amazing, i would love to come and stay here again.

It's probably the best hotel in Darjeeling. Had a wonderful stay there. They have very nice and bright pastel shades and flower plants all over the hotel. Very courteous staff, great food and superior hospitality. Would love to visit again!

We stayed in the Campbell room. Beautifully appointed, cozy rooms.. a bit of a concern would be that these rooms may get very hot and stuffy during the summers (as temperatures nowadays are increasing to new highs). They have provided fans but if temperatures keep increasing that may not suffice.
The rooms are very well decorated and they provide a wide range of teas, coffee, sodas, and snacks for the guests. I really appreciated how generous they are and the fact that they provide glass bottles for water.
The hotel is gorgeous with lovely flowers all over the place. It's quiet (opposite the Governor's House) and a great place to see Darjeeling the way it used to be decades ago.
It's a bright and colourful spot that is an easy 10 minute stroll away from the main Chowrasta at the Mall. There are viewpoints a minutes walk away and you can sit there and enjoy the mountain views and the elusive Kanchenjunga (if you visit in June).
Their restaurant is fantastic with wide variety, great food, and excellent service.
The management has done an amazing job with the way they have maintained the place and the way they make every guest's stay so comfortable... Would love to visit again!

Awesome place. My family had a long stay here and honestly speaking we enjoyed every moment spent in this hotel. The looks, the ambiance, staff, the location, the food, rooms, infrastructure, amenities, you name it and it was top class. The hospitality was superlative and this is one place I would recommend not only in Darjeeling but also in every part of the country wherever you can. It was a shame we couldn't book Mayfair while we were in Gangtok.
I wish 7 stars could be given to the guys here. To make your trip memorable and if you've got kids, look no further.

The Tiger Hill is a popular tourist spot in Darjeeling located at an altitude of about 8,442 feet above sea level. The hill is famous for its dramatic views of Mt. Everest and Kangchenjunga, as well as other peaks around the region. Visitors can enjoy the sunrise here from early morning until sunset, but be advised that it can be quite cold up at the hill so those who are not used to the cold should prepare themselves accordingly.
Superb place, need to go in early morning to see the sunrise. Just an amazing place. From the city this area is so far away.

The sunrise view that one can experience from here is beyond description...it can only be experienced and felt...n be mesmerized.
Utter beautyl... beautiful Sunrays n the sky
The enchanting view of Kanchenjunga...and then the magical hour ...when the rays hit the peak of Kanchenjunga...
That was a truely magical moment.
Definitely must visit!!!
People start gathering here from mid night so that they can get themselves the best spot to experience this beauty.
It gets tooo crowded as the sun is about to rise.
Only if the place was well maintained ...it would have been very convenient and added more beauty to this experience.
And yes do carry warm clothes as it will be freezing cold... We visited during winters and we almost froze watching that sun rise 😅
Definitely worth breaking your peaceful sleep to experience this magnificent view!

Highly recommend it.
Ribbon Das — Google review
On the 17th November morning, at 4 AM, we set out for Tiger Hills. The usually sleepy town of Darjeeling was surprisingly up & about at this unearthly hour with hundreds of cars heading the same way, so much so, that we actually encountered traffic snarl-ups at that time.
The driver left us at a point from which we had to walk for about 5 minutes on a rather steep slope. We could have driven up further but then, extracting ourselves from the parking chaos would have been very difficult.
There is a building to your right, as you approach the viewing point. This is an unfinished building - 4 stories - but the viewing balconies have been set up by local entrepreneurs in the first two levels, complete with plastic chairs rented out ₹ 50 per chair.
It's a long wait so we availed of the chairs and took our places facing East. Now, remember, you are not going there to see ONLY the sunrise but ALSO the snow-capped peaks changing hues as the sun shows it's face. Therefore, you need to keep an eye to your left as well, the North, where the peaks are. Try and sit as close to the NE corner of the viewing 'gallery' as you can for the best of both views.
In the attached photos I have tried to capture how the skies AND the mountains change colour with the rising sun but nothing can possibly replicate what one's eyes behold.
Getting back is a nightmare. There are nearly 700-800 cars, a thousand odd pedestrians trying to reach their respective vehicles and all within a pretty narrow road with a fairly steep slope.
Overall, it was an amazing experience. Very cold, very steep climb, rather poor infrastructure (for viewing) but Nature has made up for all man's lacunae!

It's one of the best sunrises view...It looks so magical when the colour of sky changes in layer by layer. In the peak tourist season lots of people gather to enjoy the view. At sunrise, the peaks of Kanchenjunga can be seen on a clear sky. We were lucky enough to have get crystal clear clear weather. Tiger Hill, located at an altitude of 2590 meters (8482 ft.)

The best view in Tiger Hill in West Bengal is the one that shows the **sunrise over the Himalayan peaks** of Everest and Kanchenjunga. You can see the changing colors of the sky and the mountains as the sun rays hit them. It is a mesmerizing sight that attracts many tourists and photographers.
However, to enjoy this view, you need to reach Tiger Hill very early in the morning, preferably before 4:30 am, as it gets crowded and foggy later.
If you want to avoid the crowd and the cold, you can also visit Tiger Hill in the evening, when you can see the **sunset over the valley** and the town of Darjeeling. You can also enjoy a walk through the bamboo and pine forest on your way to Tiger Hill.
The best time to visit Tiger Hill depends on the weather condition and your preference. If you want to see the **snow-covered mountains** in their full glory, then the period from **mid-October to December** would be ideal. However, if you want to avoid the cold and enjoy a clear sky, then the period from **March to May** would be better⁴⁵. January and February are mostly foggy and have less visibility⁴.
You should also plan to visit Tiger Hill early in the morning, preferably before sunrise, to catch the spectacular view of the sun rays hitting the peaks of Everest and Kanchenjunga. You might need to book a jeep or a taxi in advance to reach there on time, as it is a popular tourist attraction.

Tiger hill is famous for its sunrise view, as on your right-hand side there is sunrise hue is coming up in the sky and its first rays touch Kanchenjunga mountain. On the left side, it gives different shades in the sky. Very mesmerizing view as one side is golden above the horizon and below Darjeeling still in dark with glittering night lights. But to get this experience one has to leave his bed very early in the morning and lucky enough to have to get crystal clear weather.
The view of the mighty Kanchenjunga from here is mesmerizing. The road to this point is such delight. The dense forest leading to the observatory is so beautiful and peaceful, it's a must-visit. People generally say that the best time to visit here is before sunrise. The whole experience of visiting Tiger Hill is very special. Away from the crowd, you actually feel the essence of the forest. The temples on the way to the observatory are very very calm and provide a nice spiritual experience. Overall, a must-visit place on a visit to Darjeeling. To actually feel the calm prevailing the place, do visit it in the day hours rather than the sunrise.

Loved the place. The sunrise observatory point. It's the main view point in Darjeeling to see the Kanchenjunga. Was bit crowded but still enjoyed the most. Went there at 4:40 am to enjoy one of the most breathtaking scenes of my life. Witnessed the beautiful sunrise of Darjeeling and the greatness of the mighty Kanchenjunga. If you travel to Darjeeling and don’t visit there then it should be a punishable crime. Lol. But if you are in luck and the clouds don't mess things up then you may see the actual beauty of Darjeeling and The Kanchenjunga. Also there are some local shops there to buy shawls, sweater and souvenirs. You may enjoy the view with some coffee too. Will visit again there surely.

The beauty of this place makes it the king of all sites in Darjeeling. A huge crowd gather here just to witness a five minute sun rise and it will make your visit to Darjeeling worthy. The sunrise time may vary from season to season but the common thing is rising sun focusing it's rays on the Kanchenjunga hills just opposite to it. After getting sun rays, the snow on the hills glitter into golden colour and that is the perfect moment to capture for a unforgettable memory. The best time to visit this place is during winter season.
There is a good sitting arrangement but in order to get a perfect site seeing you need to come to this place before 2 hours of sunrise. Many vendors are available here selling refreshing items at your seat.

A breathtaking sunrise experience at Tiger Hill, Darjeeling
Tiger Hill, perched atop Darjeeling, is not just a viewpoint; it's an experience. As the first rays of dawn paint the majestic peaks of Mt. Everest and Kangchenjunga in hues of gold and orange, you'll witness a spectacle that will leave you speechless. The sight of the snow-capped Himalayas emerging from the clouds, casting their shadows on the valleys below, is a memory that will stay with you forever.
More than just a sunrise:
While the sunrise is undoubtedly the main draw, Tiger Hill offers much more. The panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys are stunning, and the cool morning air is invigorating. You can also take a walk along the nature trails or visit the nearby Ghoom Monastery.
Tips for your visit:
Arrive early! The crowds can get quite large, especially during peak season.
Dress warmly, as the temperature can drop significantly before sunrise.
Overall, Tiger Hill is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Darjeeling. It's an experience that you won't forget!

A must-visit place in Darjeeling. You will get an amazing view of the mountain Kanchenjunga and a glimpse of Mt. Everest.
The drive from Darjeeling would approximately take an hour. Ensure to reach the spot by 5 AM to get parking and grab the best place for a serene view of the sunrise.
If there is a delay in reaching the spot, it will be a hassle to find the parking, and you will have to park the vehicle 500 meters away from the view point.
You will have to take a stroll to reach the view point, as the walk is steep.
Do not forget to carry your winter gear.

This institute is situated in a beautiful location, and its scenic backdrop makes it one of the most popular attractions in Darjeeling.
I will absolutely recommend this place for every tourist who visits Darjeeling. This place gives you a different energy that inspires you to be great. No visit to Darjeeling can be complete without a visit to Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. Importantly it is in the same entrance to the Zoo and therefore its 2 birds with one stone. Nevertheless, it would be smart to
take out at least a couple of hours to cover this place. About 1 hour 15 mins to buy tickets and experience and also learn a bit of Wall climbing, Rock climbing, zip climbing etc. The remaining 45 mins to cover the
beautiful museum. Well for tourists who absolutely hate a museum they can also spend some time as it provides insights of the mountaineering gears, various expeditions taken by this institute and terrains of the
Himalaya shown in amazing details. There is also a memorial of Padma Bhushan Tenzing Norgay that should not be missed out. I would also recommend the Mountaineering and Adventure film show that costs Rs30/-
per person. The show timings are 10 AM, 11 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM, 3 PM and 4 PM. There is also a very nice Souvenir shop in front of the Museum and it has fantastic collections to take back home. Do give it a try too

A place where u can learn mountaineering... For tourists, they have a museum where u can experience all kinds of equipment used by Mountaineers during their expectations... Except that Dress & equipment used by Tenzing Norge and many famous mountaineers, are preserved here.. U can learn the location of each & every important peak and rivers of the Himalayas from a life size model.. The museum has its own cafeteria and souvenir shop here... Recently wall climbing, zip line and many more activities also started here... As it is situated inside Padmaja Nehru Zoo, ticket price is included in the main ticket & photography is strictly prohibited inside the museum building...

The trip entails a long walk.
The animals in the zoo looked sad and drowsy.
You can get mementos and warm clothings from the nearby shops.
Towards the end of the road there is a cafe worth its coffee.

Situated inside the Darjeeling zoo this place is difficult to find. Though a large amount of people visit the zoo a limited population visits this institute and the museum inside it. Mountaineering enthusiasts and history buffs would love this place. The institute offers various courses on mountaineering and details can be obtained from their website. The museum houses the original equipments used by Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hilary during the first ever ascent of the mount Everest. It also has iconic pictures and can educate one on the evolution of mountaineering equipments.

The Peace Pagoda, also known as the Jalapahar Temple, is a Buddhist temple located in Darjeeling, India. Constructed in the 1970s, it is one of 70+ pagodas that Nipponzan Myohoji (NM) built around the world. At the time of puja sessions held near by, visitors are provided with a hand drum and encouraged to become involved in the rituals.
I had an opportunity to visit Japanese Peace Pagoda in Darjeeling and was absolutely captivated by the peaceful and serene atmosphere of the location. The monastery was nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, and the views of the surrounding mountains were absolutely breathtaking.
As I entered the monastery grounds, I was immediately struck by the sense of calm and tranquility that seemed to pervade the air. The buildings were simple and unadorned, with a focus on functionality rather than aesthetics. The monks who lived and worked at the monastery were all dressed in traditional robes, and they moved about their tasks with a sense of purpose and devotion.
As I explored the monastery, I was struck by the sense of community and connection that seemed to pervade the air. The monks were all very welcoming and seemed to genuinely enjoy answering my questions about their way of life. I was also impressed by the sense of purpose and discipline that seemed to be a part of daily life at the monastery. The monks followed a strict schedule that included meditation, prayer, and study, and I could see how this structured way of life might be very conducive to spiritual growth.
Overall, my visit to the Buddhist monastery in Darjeeling was a truly enriching and memorable experience. The natural beauty of the location, combined with the peaceful and serene atmosphere of the monastery, made for a truly one-of-a-kind experience. If you have the opportunity to visit a Buddhist monastery, I highly recommend it - you will not be disappointed.

The beautiful Buddhist monastery and Peace Pagoda is located near the top of the Jalapahar Hill, about 2 km from the Darjeeling Clock Tower.
We are lucky that it was open while our stay in Darjeeling in first week of October.
The pagoda had beautiful gold plated sculptures of the Buddha in various postures and murals depicting some of the events in his life.
Mesmerizing view, serene peace and awesome place with tall pine trees and rhododendron bushes just beginning to flower, and with the majestic Kanchenjunga mountains as the backdrop. A must visit place in Darjeeling.
What really enhances this place, and adds joy, is in the upper prayer hall of the nearby temple building. If you are lucky your visit will coincide with the chanting of prayers, and drumming.

Surrounding by the impressive Pine trees, each tree representing a century or more of standing out there, it's indeed a wonderful peaceful place. With a stand for circumambulation at three levels of the huge structure, the ambience becomes more soothing. There are four figures of Lord Buddha located on each direction and all four represent various poses. The serene environment brings out your inner peace. A very well maintained place of worship with basic amenities including parking available.

Enjoy the Peace Pagoda and the Buddhist Temple at Darjeeling. We visited in the evening when there was almost vacant! The place has some amazing views to enjoy, but we were unlucky due to cloudy weather.
The peace pagoda was initiated by Fuji Guruji after he witnessed the bombing at Hiroshima & Nagasaki and was inaugurated on 1972. The beautiful place has depicted the life of Gautam Buddha through some amazing sculptures.

Owners are so soft-spoken and extremely extremely helpful ... They keep an sharp eye for all the comforts of the guests ... They provide few services (which few hotels charge money for) without even charging anything and even help the guests out if they are facing some problems during their stay ... They have magic in their hands as their home-cooked food with fresh ingredients are at another level which will force someone to gain 3-4kgs, can't stop drooling over their cooked meals ! 🤤The view of the toy-train passing by is the cherry 🍒 on the top 😍

One of the most beautiful place I have ever visited. I was there in the month of February 2024. It was a bit off season and at night temperature was around -5 degree. Hotel sunrise is one of the choices for staying there. But when I stayed there , there was no electricity, so as usual there was no room heater or anything to keep us warm, so in that climate condition it was a bit difficult for all the travellers. Even glass windows were
frozen inside the room. But the very next day when we saw the clear sky and the beautiful sunrise , all our exhaustion had turned into joy and happiness.you can visit the place either by hiking or by car , you can reach to Manibhanjan from NJP , from Manibhanjan you can hire a guide if you want to reach the place by trekking,it’s a 4 days trek only for sandakphu , and if you want to cover Phalut , then it’s a 5 days trek. Another option is you can take the legendary Land Rover or Mahindra Marshal kind of jeeps to reach there. If the sky is clear then you can see the most mesmerising view of Kanchanjunga range. I am sharing some photos from my gallery. Keep travelling keep knowing the u know.

Sandakphu or Sandakpur (3636 m; 11,930 ft) is a mountain peak in the Singalila Ridge on the border between India and Nepal. It is the highest point of the ridge and of the state of West Bengal, India. The peak is located at the edge of the Singalila National Park and has a small village on the summit with a few hotels. Four of the five highest peaks in the world, Everest, Kangchenjunga, Lhotse and Makalu can be seen from its summit. It also affords a pristine view of the entire Kangchenjunga Range. Sandakphu is also known as the land of poisonous flowers.
The trek along the Singalila Ridge to Sandakphu and Phalut is one of the most popular in the Eastern Himalayas, owing not only to the stupendous vistas of the Kangchenjunga and Everest ranges which it affords, but also to its seasonal wildflowers and opportunities for birdwatching. Treks begin at Manebhanjan which is 28 km (approx. 1 hour by road) from Darjeeling.
The western part of Sandakphu peak is located in Sandakpur rural municipality (ward no. 2 & 4) of Ilam District of Province No. 1.
The trekking starts from Ilam Bazar via Maipokhari, Maimajhuwa, Mabu, Kala Pokhri Bikhe Bhyanjyang to Sandakpur, and also from Ilam Bazar via Sulubung, Jamuna, Hangetham (a special area for birds such as the spiny babbler and blue tit), Piple, Kalipokhari, Bikhe Vanjyang to Sandakpur. On this trekking route, Jamuna is most valuable for trekkers. There are many beautiful places like Dhap Pokhari, Choyatar (special area for red pandas). There is a three jungle Hile Samudayik Ban, Choyatar Samudayik Ban, Hangetham Samudayik Ban.

We visited there in April. Don't think this is a hill station like Darjeeling, if weather isn't in favor this could be a bit dangerous. In case of snow fall you might have to walk for 4kms or more to reach the hotels and the road is really steep. I personally would not recommend for elderly person or who are not physically fit.
Didn't get view of the mountains because of the snowfall. But that view also have it's own beauty. Though we had some bitter experience with the hotel and driver, we will go there again, just because of the beautiful view. If weather in favor, should also visit Falut.
Some points I think everyone should know highlighted below
Pros :
1. From manebhanjan to sandakphu, the whole route have great scenic beauty.
2. Must visit the monestry, tumling, kalipokhri etc points...they have different vibes..
3. Heavenly view of Sleeping Buddha, Mt. Everest and other snow capped peaks.
Cons :
1. Unpredictable weather. Be prepared for rain or snowfall..It's better to use waterproof trekking shows, pants, jackets.
2. Mobile networks will not be available after some point.
3. Its a bit remote area, so carry things like medicine, water with you. Here some people might have mild breathing problem at night..so keep necessary things with you.
4. Lastly, we have met some good people there who helped us, but there are people because of whom we suffered a bit and refused to help at all. So keep in mind you are on your own

Basukinath is a town and notified area in the Dumka, Jharkhand, India. Wikipedia.
Baba Baidyanath Temple is a religious site consisting of 22 temples, including one of the 12 Jyotirlinga shrines dedicated to Shiva. It is known for its devotional ambiance and cleanliness. Visitors are advised to beware of scams by temple officials who may try to take advantage of them. While inside the temple, it can be quite crowded with queues forming around the inner sanctum where devotees can touch Lord Shiva's Linga.
As usual, every temple has a lot of people gatherings, here also one will find a lot but they have built a way to tackle that many visitors. It's very relaxing when you sit and pray.

For Devotees it's a great place ❣️❣️.
The Environment here is very soothing ❣️❣️.
Early Morning is the best time to go and pray as the crowd is very light at that time.
On Mondays it is over Crowded.

World famous pilgrimage Baidyanath Dham is situated in the district headquarter of Deoghar in the state of Jharkhand. Of the revered twelve Joytirlingas it stands at the fifth position. In ancient time this land was very pious and picturesque. It is inscripted in Shiv Purana as Haritaki or Ketaki wood. A prevalent story goes on to state, that heart of Sati had fallen here. Which was happened as the dead body of Sati was dissected by God Vishnu with his Sudarshan Chakra. In this way Shiva and Shakti are conjugally immanent in this Joytirlinga.
The Matsyapuran narrates the place as Arogya Baidyanathitee, the holy place where Shakti lives and assists Shiva in freeing people from incurable diseases. This whole area of Deoghar was under the rule of the Kings of Gidhaur who were much attached with this temple.
While there are several such legends associated with this sacred land, history too proves its importance. A mention of the temple can be found from 8th century AD, during the rule of the last king of the Gupta dynasty, Adityasena Gupta. During the Mughal period, Raja Man Singh, the ruler of Amber, is said to have built a pond here, which is known as Mansarovar. The temple faces the east and is a plain stone structure with a pyramidal tower, which is 72 ft high. Atop it are three compactly set gold vessels, along with a Panchshula (five knives in a trident shape). There is also an eight-petaled lotus called Chandrakanta Mani.
Mythology:
According to mythology during Baidyanath Joytirlinga transportation by demon king Ravana to Lanka, mid way on his route was this holy land. As depicted Ravana had got this Shivalinga as boon by offering extreme meditation and had he installed this Joytirlinga in Lanka no would have been succeed in killing him. Due to Ravana’s cruelty lord Shiva handed over the Joytirlinga to him on the condition that if he would ever put the Jyotirlinga on the ground, it would not be possible to lift it again. During the course of his journey, with the intent to create hurdles, deities got water and lord Barun entered into Ravana’s belly and with its effect Ravana felt pee experience and was compelled to land for being free from natural call. He landed down his Puspak Vimana and gave the Joytirlinga to a nearby herd boy who was lord Vishnu in disguise. After having been freed from natural call as Ravana came to take Joytirlinga, he was astonished to see that herd boy had disappeared and the Joytirlinga was put on ground. As per conditions Ravana could not lift the Joytirlinga after making so many attempt. Consequently with extreme anger he thrusted the linga with his thumb and went away. In original Joytirlinga the mid part of it was warped.
How to Reach:
Baidyanathdham is located between 24.4852 degree north and 86.6948 degree east. From Jasidih junction, it is 06 km away; which is on under Howrah-Delhi broad gauge line. To reach by Air, the nearest airports are Kolkata, Patna & Ranchi, those are respectively 280 km, 350 km & 300 km away from Deoghar, from where pilgrims can avail train, bus & taxi services.
Nearby Places:
In the surrounding of Baidyanathdham there are so many religious and tourist places namely Harilajori. Tirkut Parvat, Nandan Pahar. Nawalakha Mandir. Rekhiya Asharam, Tapowan, Satsang Nagar, etc. These places are gifted with natural glory by the God and pilgrims can have heavenly reminiscence by on looking its scenes.

Deogarh or Baba Dham or Baidyanath Dham or Ravanaeshwar Baidyanath Dham is One among the twelve holiest Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva, located at Deoghar Jharkhanda. Most famous for the Dak Bam during month of Shrawan where thousands of people on saffron colored clothes carry water from Ganga at Sultanganja about 108 Km away & walk bare feet nonstop to temple in 24 hours. Baidhyanath Dham is a temple complex comprising of 21 various white temples. Temple of mother goddess Parbati is in front of Shiva & is interconnected with red sacred threads, one of the rare occurrence to see Shiva & Shakti (Parbati- Devi) inside the one compound. Shandya Aarti was very exciting to witness. View of Jyotirlinga is shown with live camera on a TV outside the temple. There is provision of special darshan for the devotees of Lord Shiva but for that devotees have to pay some money which goes to the temple trust. A lot of Pandas offer different puja & darshan, but mostly they try to extract money saying this or that but their help is rewarded with quicker & better darshan but just you have to be patient and try to have one panda since every panda can give you the access to the entrance gate of lord shiva shivling from there devotees have to pay tribute to the god by themselves only and can have the grace and blessings of Lord Shiva as god is for all inside the gate of Lord Shiva Shivling all are equal either rich or poor and this makes the religion incredible. That's all from my side I think whatever information I want to give through my side I had provide in this review.
Thanks a lot

Highly recommended for a visit if you want a memorable experience.
It's easy to reach just google the map
and don't go with pandat what ever they say as it might be tricky to take money out of you, but some time u have to take vip pass for management of time as there can be 10k people or 100k people, yes 100k people it's crazy over there.
Ronak Agarwal — Google review
A holy place like this doesn't require any type of rating or review people visit this place for the blessing of lord Shiva in the name of Baidyanath Jyotirlinga.
The temple complex comprises the central shrine of Baba Baidyanath, Maa parvati temple (a shaktipeeth), kal bhairav mandir, lord Hanuman mandir and many other god and goddess temples.
Maa Parvati temple is tied up with the main temple, with huge red sacred threads which is unique and worthy of reverence, showing the unity of Shiva and Shakti.
But there are some major issues which should be focused, pandas here are very demanding in every temple in the premises they'll ask you for दक्षिणा and somehow they torture common people and another thing that is crowd management by security team, come here to take blessings but these guards treat people like animals.

With Deoghar Airport and Jasdih railway station traveling, to one of our famous Jyotirlinga is possible. From Airport temple is just 10km and from railway station just 20 min. You can get Toto or Auto from both the Place at Rs200.
Temple has its own historical importance . Both the Jyotirlinga and Shakti Peeth is their. Their is thread called as Gatbandhan between Shiva and Parvati temple.
Temple has got different gates, it is advisable to go from Singh dwar and there is shop called Shiv peda Bhandar, one of the best Peda. There are 22 temples in the premises don't forget to do Darshan of those temples.
Don't miss Aarti in the night which happens at Parvati temple by 7pm. Visuals are amazing and breathe Taking.
Also don't fall for Pandas who charges too high. Get VIP ticket from the counter if you are in hurry.
During Sawan Bhada too much of crowd will be there.Prices are also bit high for everything. After Dashera and before Diwali Crowd is very less and one can do Darshan nicely, price is low.

The temple is very good and peaceful, it is really greatly managed and groomed. One of the 12 jyotirlings. The shingar and the arti is traditionally done. Mata Parvati temple, Maa Tara Temple, Maa Annapurna Temple, Ganesh ji ka mandir are also there.

I had a disastrous experience at Baba Baidyanath dham. I don't know if it is because of the time we chose to go. You can take VIP pass to cut time.
The garbh grah is compact. Imagine 50+ people inside it. The entry and exit is same and confined. People will push you to reach the shivlinga. We were hardly able to breath. Idk how we survived that day.
No proper arrangements were done to control the crowd. Police were there but of no use.
Also the place is hell dirty.
I request you to not take children in case there is too much crowd. Please!!
Apurva — Google review
Too much crowd! Basically crowd is not the problem. I recently visited the temple with lots of expectations. Since I'm a traveller and recently visited Kedarnath. After kedarnath i thought of visiting babadham jyotirlinga. I was expecting a spiritual and peace environment but I found business inside the premises. Ans the terms used by workers there, 'baba dakshina', 'dwar dakshina' and lot more dakshina. Even i heard a priest shouting on others, "paisa hai nhi jeb me aur aa jata hai baba ke pass". What the hell? Who the hell are you to decide ki kise aana chahie aur kise nhi. They're playing with the emotions of devotees there. And the biggest bluff is vip line. They treat like this to people having money, god knows what they do with poor devotees there. Other jyotirlingas are way good. May be because of no priest policy. And God! How can I forget the behavior of a person who was in charge of devotees management I guess. He kept beating men, women, children, oldies. I didn't like this place as a tourist. Met with few flowers seller there. They were poor by finance but wealthy by heart and emotions. I had a talk with other devotees. Loved the people around and the uniqueness of temple and premises.

It was a nice experience. Early morning, just two days before Srawan month, still little crowded but heart full of joy and devotion. Had a Puja and then went for Darshana. Inside the Grabh grih, its too much rush and push. But able to touch Linga of Lord shiva. Had a very good darshana of Mahakal. Har har bhole.

Baidyanath Jyotirlinga, is a significant Hindu pilgrimage site located in Deoghar, Jharkhand, India. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is considered one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, which are believed to be the most sacred abodes of Lord Shiva.
The temple complex is situated amidst the beautiful and serene surroundings of the Parasnath Hills. It is believed to have been built during the reign of the Maratha ruler, Maharaja Balwant Singh, in the 18th century. However, the original temple is said to have been constructed by Ravana, who was an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva.
The most prominent festival celebrated at Baba Baidyanath Dham is the Shravani Mela, which takes place during the Hindu month of Shravan (July-August). During this time, devotees undertake a month-long pilgrimage on foot, carrying holy water from the Ganges River in Sultanganj, a distance of about 105 kilometers, to offer it to Lord Shiva. The entire town of Deoghar comes alive with festivities, and a sense of devotion and spirituality fills the air.
VIP Darsan also available, charges 250 per person.

I recommend going via VIP pass. Which cost you around 250₹. If you don't then you have to wait in line for approx 2.5-3hr. Always crowded. I visited this place in the normal week days.

Very calm place. Full rush in month of shravana. People celebrate sharavan here for about 2 months normally in an year and 3 if there is adhik mass. In queue you will have to wait 30-40 mins on normal day. 60-75 mins on mondays and 2-3+ hours in sharavan and 4-5 hours on mondays of shravan month. You can give dakshina to pandit and he'll help you with queue and also you can arpan jal and worship God. You can touch the jyotriling on non rush days. Phone is allowed inside temple you can also click some pics, just don't use it inside the garbh gruh.

Very nice experience of visiting one of the 12 jotirlingas in Deodhar, Jharkhand. Lot of pandas will follow you to make poojas and show wah to queue for darshan. They would charge some amount. Inside the garbhgrih (main mandir) pandits there will ask for dakshina and won’t allow to go nearby. You have to take panda to do Pooja inside. Timing for darshan in the evening starts at 7pm but other people will tell you it’s 6.30.

Linked to dynasties and rulers, the temple's enduring significance as one of the twelve Jyotirlingas draws devotees seeking spiritual solace. The timeless tradition of the evening aarti further enhances the divine experience, making the pilgrimage profound and historically rich. Naulakha Temple, a grand complex erected in the mid-1900s, is devoted to Radha and Krishna deities. Its location is 1.5 km away from Baba Baidyanath Temple, and it resembles Ramakrishna's temple in Belur(Kolkata). The idols of Radha Krishna are present inside the temple.
Words cannot describe its humongous structure. Definitely one of the beautiful architecture in Deoghar. If anyone of you are planning to visit the city. Must go to this place during afternoon. You will love the entire structure wrapped by marvelous atmosphere.

Srimati Charushila Dasi from Kolkata built this temple in 1942 in memory of her gurudev Balananda Brahmachari. Nine lakh rupees was the cost to build the temple at that time so the temple called Nau lakha temple. Very popular tourist spot in Deoghar. Local utensils shop, memento shop are there outside the temple.

A perfect example of Explicit Beauty. It's impossible to describe its beauty and vibe in words. It is an experience to be felt, to be experienced. The literal meaning of "Naulakha" is "Nine Lakhs". This beautiful temple was built with the investement of Nine Lakhs hence, attaining this name Naulakha. It was built by a Bengali Lady in the loving memory of her Son. It has fine architecture made up of red sandstone. It has got a calm vibe, perfect of meditation and enjoying solitude. Best time to visit is morning as there won't be rush to break the beautiful calm trance which it provides. The inside of the temple is surprisingly cool. It has got a beautiful garden around it. It is a hidden gem which makes it best and people has not ruined its vibes. After so many decades also its beauty never ceases to amaze the human mind.

The temple is a marvel in its own. But such a sad state of affairs that it's premise is not maintained as the way it should be done. The interior is beautiful and clean. Photography is not allowed inside. The outside garden is in a mess. Could have been maintained in a much better way, as this is one of the most visited places in and around Deoghar with a rich essence of history.

The building is actually very exotic. The building stones used are good to see.
It is called Nalakha because during those times it cost 9 lakhs rupees to build and hence the name.
I liked the building structure and design. But to be frank, administration has not been able to maintain it properly. The connecting road to the temple is dilapidated! Completely broken and in worst condition.
The building itself needs lot of renovation work. Algal growth can be seen on the stones. These buildings are our heritage. We all should try our best to preserve these.
Why can't we charge 10 Rs per person whoever is visiting it? By doing this, sufficient funds can be gathered for its maintenance.
Lastly, I was saddened to see our heritage getting decayed like this.

Another religious temple at Deoghar with easy entry.
The temple houses idols of Radha and Krishna as also Sri Balananda Brahmachari.
The history says that it was built by rani Charushila Ghosh, Zamindar of Kolkata, who built it after losing her husband and son prematurely, under the influence / advice of Balananda Brahmachari at a cost of the then RS.9.00 lac in 1940s.
A must visit in Deoghar.

My recent visit to this shopping mall was an average experience. The mall had a decent variety of stores, offering a mix of popular brands and local shops.
The layout of the mall was easy to navigate, and there were clear signage and directories to help me find my way around. The mall was clean and well-maintained, creating a pleasant shopping environment.
However, I found that the mall lacked some of the more high-end or unique stores that I was hoping to find. The selection of shops felt somewhat limited, and I didn't come across any standout or exclusive offerings.
The mall did have a food court with a decent range of dining options, providing a convenient place to grab a bite to eat during my visit.
Parking was relatively easy, with ample spaces available. However, I did notice that the mall can get crowded during peak hours, which made finding parking a bit more challenging.
Overall, while this shopping mall provided an average shopping experience, it may be more suitable for those seeking mainstream brands and a convenient location. For a wider variety of stores and a more unique shopping experience, other malls in the area might be worth exploring

This hill is situated at Purulia in West Bengal. Wonderful destination for the weekend journey. The hill is fully covered by trees. There have 14/15 Water Falls. A road gone to the hill top , you can go 2 or 4 wheelers or a small bus . There are too many hotels.

A good one day getaway to mountains. There's a lot to see, from the mask village to the vast dams and blue lakes. It's a beautiful place I would say, if you haven't seen mountains in like 4-5 years, but if you have, then there's no magic.
Ps- My video is edited don't be misleaded, it ain't gonna be this blue, I visited around the last week of December.

If you love forests and the calm atmosphere of this then you must go to visit this place. The serene beauty of the entire Ayodhya hills and it's people will captivate your heart if you are a peace and beauty lover. It's the heaven for birding. You have to spend a few days in the jungle to capture the tiny beauties of nature. The smell ,the air ,the greenery will be unfolded to you more if you are an early riser and if you walk in the jungles(daytime).
Do visit and relax your eyes.
Also try to keep the calmness and hear the sounds of the forest in the night.
It's not place to drink and party but to enjoy the serene nature.

Good place to spend weekends with your family. There are a few Govt. guest houses which are good apart from private accommodations. Food is cheap here. Suggested to come in with your own vehicle as rides are bit expensive.

The place called Ayodhya is not known to most of the people. Many people visit here and enjoy it. It is a very beautiful place. I also went and had a very good experience. It can be said that it is also a beauty of West Bengal, there are many historical facts available here which are surprising to see.... Here there are Upper Dam and Lower Dam which are mind-blowing when you see them, the mind feels peaceful, pleasant air, something like the sea seems to be seen.... also spent a very good time here.

This place is beautiful but the entry/exit time sucks. We reached the place at 4:10pm and we're refused to enter but there are few other entry points that requires not so Authorization which I would suggest you can avoid as we have. Rest Place was wonderful, less crowded and picturesque atmosphere. There are pictures which were taken from that other gate which you have to avoid.

Hundru Falls is one of the most popular waterfalls in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. Located around 35 km from the city center, it is a popular spot for picnics, day trips, and weekend getaways.
The waterfall is located on the Subarnarekha River and falls from a height of 98 meters. It is a majestic sight to behold, especially during the monsoon season when the water flow is at its peak.
1.The best time to visit Hundru Falls is during the monsoon season (July to September) when the water flow is at its peak.
2. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, as you will need to walk down and up a flight of 750 steps.

You have to walk a long way to reach the waterfalls. The road is Good though and stairs are also there. Water falls can only be seen during rainy seasons. Other time, there is not much water.
Toilets are there and food stalls are also there.
For lunch, you have to order 1hour early, and the hotels will cook your meal.
Overall a good place to travel.
Some adventure sports are also available.

Good place.....approx 12 km from ranchi railway station. U have to book auto or Ola etc to reach there...bike person's are also there so if u are alone or have one companion then u can book them( they are very cunning make everything clear means money they demand extra money when they drop you in return.I booked the bike for 500 but he took 550 after long conversation so be careful)....Other things are good , you will find some shops there for refreshment ...10 rupy entry fees and 15 for parking .

One of the good falls near Ranchi. You can reach the upper part of the waterfall by walking some distance. To reach the lower part of waterfall, you need to climb down 750 stairs. The steps are not steep, hence the climb is on the easier side. The view is quite good here. There are small shops located around the stairs. So you don't need to carry water or other food items.
Pro tip: In case you want to have lunch and are non-vegetarian, you can choose indigenous chicken and order it before going down in the shops. They will prepare and serve the hot chicken when you come up!

Waterfall is beautiful but no other amenities not even proper toilet. No eateries. There are 745 steps but a very easy climb even oldies can do it easily. It's advisable to take the staircase route only the view is best only in this route the locals will suggest you other routes don't take that. We did it in little rain but still it was fine.

Splendid view .

I recommend people to visit this place in the month of August when there is the maximum amount of water displacement.
You can have a side view of the falls from the viewpoints which are a little distance from the ticket counter.
To reach the foot of the waterfall you've to climb down approximately 736 stairs. You'll get small shops of snacks at the foot of the waterfalls.

Hundru waterfall is a hour ride from ranchi city centre , on your way to waterfall you have to pass through many tribal villages ,there is an entrance ticket and you have to go down 700 + steps to reach this beautiful spot , adventure enthusiasts can try zip line facility too ,it's a fun activity . whole area around here is covered by jungle , air quality is refreshing . peaceful place to relax and observe wonders of nature .

Good place to hangout. The journey to get to the waterfall is as interesting as the destination. There are ~750 semi-sloping steps to the waterfall which make it fun for folks to bond over. The waterfalls themselves are pretty impressive (350 ft high). Guess there'd be more volume in the rainy seasons as compared to when I went.
Prudent to carry water bottles on the "climb" (there are small shacks on the way to purchase but you might choose not to based on your hygiene considerations).

This is a well known and very famous tourist spot of Jharkhand State. Around 46 kilometers from Ranchi. It is the highest waterfalls of Jharkhand. The view is awesome. You have to go down 750 stairs from the gate to reach the view point. You can also bath in the flowing water of falls. Place surrounded by the beauty of nature. Must visit this place. Just keep sufficient time in hand to spend a quality moment.

Amazing view of the waterfall from the viewpoint. The waterfall is created on the course of the Subarnarekha River and known as one of the most popular tourist destinations of the city (Ranchi). The sound of the falling mountain water (320 feet) is just amazing. One has to go down many steps to enjoy its beauty. It is a great holiday destination.

I visited the place on 17th March,2024.
Waterfall will be viewed after crossing 745 downwards steps, which is a very strainus job for the old aged people.
The Jharkhand Government should give more importance for the beautification of this place.
The scenic beauty of this place will definitely attract the Nature lover.
