There isn't much in the forest, but a peaceful atmosphere. The guesthouse is pathetic, and does not have any electricity. You need to pay for diesel if you need lights or a fan. But the staff are helpful and so is the food.

Hazaribagh Wildlife Sanctuary (earlier called Hazaribagh National Park) is a wildlife sanctuary in Jharkhand, India. It was established in 1955. Earlier it was home to tigers, leopards, and many more animals but now rarely animals other than nilgai and hyena are seen. It is known that many foreigners also used to visit the then-called National Park, but due to lack of care by government, it has become mere a forest. Very few tourists can be seen now.
Shubham Barnwal — Google review
very good sanctuary, you can enjoy with family ,but not suitable for summer in month of May,june
Atul Singh — Google review
As a place to stroll, it is very good. But there is probably no big wild animals there. It was open even in monsoon (as monsoon being mating season, all proper national parks or wildlife sanctuaries remain closed). They allow two-wheelers as well. You can stop anywhere and get into the woods. No one is going to stop you. Overall, good for refreshing nature but not as wildlife sanctuary.

Good place to enjoy nature but for the animals, only deers can be seen
Prabhat Kumar — Google review
This place offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, with its refreshing air, lush greenery, and surrounding forests. However, sightings of uncommon animals are rare, as they tend to reside deep within dense forests. Nevertheless, you can still enjoy the presence of familiar, human-friendly animals such as oxen, cows, and dogs during your visit.
Md Farzan Farooquee — Google review
Good place for those who want to spend few times in peaceful environment between the forest. Decent picnic place to go with friends and family. You can also book guest house in Rajderwa starting from 350 Rs/day.

This was good but no animals could be seen except fox and deer. Wildlife is in danger. There are very less animals. Animals need to be preserved.

Ordinary sanctuary. Not dangerous. We visit in a group. There are no harmful animal in this sanctuary. We see some kind of monkeys in here. No rare species are seen during visit. But mosquitoes are more dangerous than other.
I am not recommended to visit this sanctuary.

Hazaribagh Jheel is a fantastic destination for tranquility. The beautiful lake is perfect for boating, offering a serene atmosphere. It's an ideal spot for morning or evening jogs, surrounded by parks that enhance the overall experience. The presence of numerous restaurants adds to the charm, making Hazaribagh Jheel a versatile and delightful place for both leisure and fitness activities.

One can take rest, relax and feel the atmosphere.
Sabyasachi Ghosh — Google review
Well the area beside the jheel are well organised and well maintained, also semi clean. The best time is in the early morning or in the evening. The jheel is devided in two main parts choti jheel (most happening place) while the other is badi jheel (least happening as compared to choti jheel). You can enjoy paddle boat or stream boat ride on reasonable price. There are also parks and cafeteria around the choti jheel where childrens can enjoy. Also a good place for family and friends. There are so many food stalls where you can enjoy snacks or freshment. The surrounding is so much safe because of officers bunglow around the lake.
You can go through either bike or cars but in my opinion walking is best option. There is so much crowd in weekend or in festive time. Sometime you will also enjoy fishing. Also there is so many types of fishes in the lake.

Patratu valley is a beautiful valley with wide scenic roads that are very well maintained. They look beautiful in daylight as well as at night time when the radium lit road looks amazing. The roads look beautiful from a drone shot. We didn't have a drone so couldn't take a picture. But nonetheless, the drive looked great. There a dam too, which looked nice blue with lots of boats. We did that too. There is an island to which the boat takes. We went to the island, it is a bit pricey, and i would recommend not booking a motor boat to the island because it is not worth the money. There isn't anything there just, a building structure. Riding on the motor boat was more fun than being on the island. So i would say, instead of going to the island, take 2 boat rides!

The Maa Chhinmastike mandir is a stunning Hindu temple located on a hilltop, dedicated to a headless goddess. The vibrant Tantric-style design adds to the beauty of the serene surroundings which are surrounded by mountains and forests. Though there is a small market in the vicinity, queue management needs improvement, and more police personnel are required due to long waiting times that can last up to 3-4 hours.
Incredible place in serene environment.
Peaceful surrounded by mountains and forests. Road is also very nice. There is small market where you do window shopping .
But the only thing is that queue management is not good there . There is need of more police personnel .
If you have planned to go there be prepare for long queue and it will take max to 3 to 4hours. Anyways place is just beautiful and relaxing. Neaby temple you will see confluence of damodar river and bhairavi river which is incredible and so beautiful
Temple is 70 km from ranchi you can take public transport or pvt vehicle.
Jai Maa chhinmasta🙏
ANURAG ANAND — Google review
As a result of the long queues, I have to wait around 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the queue, but after 4:30 p.m. waiting time is less than an hour. There is no concern for people bypassing queues, since no one pays attention to them so people following queues have to wait longer for worship.
sunil bhaskar — Google review
The queue was long on a Sunday. Perhaps best time to go is after 2 or before 7. Also people do not like to follow queue, and the guards do not monitor the initial line, which was almost 2 hours waiting, so you are on your own. In the end, the darshan was full filling though, worth the 4 hour wait. Spent more than 30 seconds in actual mandir, in front of murti. Jai maa.

Here The Goddes Kali is worshipped as Devi Chinamastika. 📌It attracts a lot of people from Bihar, West Bengal, and neighboring States. It's worth a visit.there is an amazing peace around the temple😇. there are myths which make this temple more mysterious and strange.☢️ Sensitive people need to close their eyes while entering the main temple as the sight of blood on the flooring might disturb them☢️. The kids need to be handled carefully as this place remains crowded throughout the year.❣️

- If you are going from Ranchi, go via Ramgarh route, the roads are awesome except few patches.
- Plenty of parking available there for cars and bikes.
- Take extra clothes if you want to take a dip in the river.
- When we went there, there was not much rush or queue and were able to have darshan in 15 mins.
- Also there are many other temples like Surya Mandir, Ashta Mandir, Durga Mandir , Hanuman Mandir, Shiv Mandir, Krishna mandir and others.
- There are several vegetarian hotels for breakfast/lunch and are clean.
- There is a washroom near the Rajrappa Tourist complex which is neatly maintained.
- Temple is located at scenic place with nearby river, and you can just sit and spend some time or have picnic.
Jai Maa !

Beautiful place for both the spiritual tourists and the nature lovers.
The nature lovers might be a bit irritated in the market area in close proximity of the temple , because that area is a bit chaotic , lots of shops selling puja items , ful of dirt and mud ... But once you cross that area you will get the view of the confluence of Damodar and Bhairavi river which is locally known as Bhera river. One can avail the boat ride which goes very close to the confluence .

Maa chinmastika mandir is one of the Shakti peeth. It is located near Ramgarh Jharkhand. It's quite busy during the day The waiting time during morning time can be up to 3hrs and may be longer during special occasions like navratra. If you want to avoid the crowd the best is to visit from 2pm to 6pm.
The Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park, spanning 104 hectares, showcases wildlife in their natural habitats amidst forest terrain. It's an ideal destination for outings with friends and family. Children can admire the beautiful birds and various animals while also observing different species of trees. The zoo is budget-friendly with tickets priced between 15/- to 30/- per person, and minimal charges are applied for the Aquarium and snake house.
You can visit this zoo , speacially when you are planning outing with friends. Kids would love to see the beautiful birds and then the various kinds of animals. Even you will see different trees all around. Ambience is apt for families and friends both.
The best part is it'll fit in your budget as the price of ticket was around 15/- to 30/- per person. Similarly, minimal charges are fixed for the Aquarium and the snake house.
Also, you will get food at a much affordable price. The restaurant is located inside the zoo, beside the boating area.

Clean and good environment. All the animals are well fed and are nurtured with great care. Good to take kids. But park is too big so you should prefer battery vehicles when with kids car tickets can be booked inside the park left to the entrance and there is option for cycles too.
The best part is it'll fit in your budget as the price of ticket was around 15/- to 30/- per person. Similarly, minimal charges are fixed for the Aquarium and the snake house.
Parking fee is Rs 40, and its better to park your vehicles inside the gate. Entry fee is Rs 30 per adult. Toilets are clean and well maintained.
Overall a nice place to spend your day.

Amazing zoo...very nice maintenance.... good place for animal lover... everyone should visit here...Zoo also offers Battery Operated Vehicles and Boating facility to visitors including other facilities like Drinking water, Rest Area with Sheds at regular interval, First Aid Box, Wheel Chair for Physical Challenged person, Toilets and Lavatories, Direction Map and Sign Board for navigation, Information Center for visitors, Kiosks, Service, Guide Map and Canteen Facility.
Sanya Deo — Google review
I suggest that before having a visit over here please consider the weather, day and time. These days the water level in the reservoir is low thus you would not be able to enjoy boating and on Monday the zoo is usually closed. Keep an umbrella if you are planning to explore on foot rather than an electric car or bicycle. Generally on sunny days animals prefer to lay low so don't expect them to entertain you in this weather. Canteen has a good site location and decent menu.
anuj kujur — Google review
You could book the tickets online as well you can get it at the counter. We purchased it at the counter and there was no wait time.
We went to the electric vehicle area to book the bus. The wait time was around 1+ hour for this. And have to admit the whole thing was poorly managed. We chose to visit the zoo by foot itself as they didn't have enough vehicles.
Zoo premises are well maintained and clean, but when it comes to maintaining the animals I don't think they have done a good job.
They have a drinking water outlet available in plenty. They also have a canteen inside but horrible food literally had to throw away whatever we ordered. Recommended to have food outside. Overall the experience was pretty disappointing.

- inside u will get foods, yes but little more expensive (Rs.5-10 extra)
- u can carry your foods but not in plastics bag, only in paper, steel but not in plastics.
- wear comfortable shoes and this advice is for both ladies and gents.
- enjoy the zoo and yes don't disturb animals.

As a zoological garden, it is beautiful. Animals are being kept within the wilderness (although in cages). You will feel good among sal trees. Most of the animals are there, appart from zebra, ziraffe and some few. You will not waste your time by visiting here,I am sure. There are also facilities of visiting the zoo with electrical cars or even with cycles. There is a canteen which is also not overpriced and provide food above average.

This place is such a fine discovery! They have so many animals! Though I wish the elephant could be viewed in a free setting like other animals, without the mahout. We were able to see tiger, leopard, black leopard, hippopotamus, bear, cheeta cat , birds although the snake house was closed in winter. We didn't have enough time for the aquarium. We reached at 10:40 and had a very leisurely kind of stroll across the park and viewing all animals took us around 5 hours, excluding snake house. The aquarium is across the road and it's India's biggest aquarium apparently. So make sure you have time for it. It closes at 4. Plan accordingly.

Located away from the city on Ranchi-Khunti Road, Bhagwan Birsa biological deer park breeds two types of deer- Sambar and Chital and boasts of housing 45 sambar deer and 129 chital deer. Numerous viewing points have been constructed inside the park for visitors to observe the wildlife. The panoramic view of the park from these towers is breathtaking. Spread across an area of 23 ha, the park also houses a wide variety of trees such as Sal, Bel, Neem and Ber. If you are visiting with children, do check out the Children’s Park located near the entrance. It also has a canteen and other facilities to ensure a comfortable experience. Don’t forget to visit the Ranchi River which is next to the park for a relaxing experience.

Visited the zoo with my kids on 30.12.23. There was a long queue, thank God, I booked the ticket online. The zoo is getting better everyone I visit it. There are almost every animal and birds for the children to enjoy and learn about the wildlife. Elephant there is an added attraction. We were mesmerized by the way it was trained by its mahout. Really impressive.

The zoo felt great. There were large variety of birds and animals. So if you are traveling with elderly people I would recommend taking e-taxis which can be booked at reasonable prices once you enter the park. Although during my visit there were only 3-4 e-taxis, so it may not be available for everyone all the time and you may need to wait for 1-2 hours for it to be available. The total travel by foot is about 2-3 km so plan accordingly. I will suggest visiting zoo during winters as it won't be too hot while travelling and animals come out for the sunlight. There were plenty of spots for sitting throughout the zoo with availability of drinking water and public restrooms. Although I would prefer taking your own water bottles. Overall the experience was great. Definitely recommend going there with family.
Note: During winters the snake house is closed.
Note: Zoo remains closed on mondays.

I'll never travel to Bhubaneswar without this trip planner again
Tagore Hill in Ranchi is a popular destination for tourists due to its scenic beauty and panoramic views of the surrounding city. It is an ideal spot for quiet walks, picnics, and spending time with family and friends. The hill is connected to Jyotirindranath Tagore, the elder brother of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. It offers free entry from 9 AM to 5 PM without any entry fees.
Went to Tagore Hill on Wednesday, it was crowded mostly with students. There are no entry fees. It's so nice and calm up there. Clicked so many pics and came back. It closes by 5.30 PM.
PS : Be safe on the rocks.

Tagore hill is just situated 3 km away from the heart to the city. Its the best place to get a 360 degree view of the Ranchi city.
There is no entry fee. Parking fee of ₹20 for 4 Wheelers and ₹10 for 2 wheelers. Time 9 AM to 5 PM.
The view of sunrise and sunset from the hill top is one of the most beautiful things to see.
You have to climb around 250 stairs to reach the top .

Beautiful 360 degree view of Ranchi from the top. Many rocks and benches to sit and enjoy. Rocks are huge in size, so be careful while climbing on them as a small mistake can result in fall of 5 to 10 meters or more. Enjoy the view, specially on a good day with clear sky.

The first place to visit if you're new to Ranchi.
It's Simple , serene and beautiful.
A lot of steps to climb, but the views are breathtaking.
The place needs a little maintenance, other than that there is absolutely no other flaws here,
It's a good spot for family and friends to hang out, take selfies and pics.
There are benches to sit and a bike parking.
Anish Saurav Tirkey — Google review
Good place. The view from the top is 10/10. It will be a total leg day for your body to reach that height 😅
But the veiw from the top makes it all worth. If you have a camera or drone you'll get very nice shots.
I would not recommend families to go here because 80% of the crowd are couples of 18-25 age group.
Ahsan Taqweem — Google review
Very nice location. You can view entire Ranchi city from this place. Rabindranath Tagore's elder brother built his home here, so it's called Tagore hill. Entry is free of cost. I felt it's not maintained properly and bit dirty. It has potential to become a great tourist attractions if maintains properly.

The place is ill maintained. It has its own cultural rich heritage, which is directly associated with the Tagore family, mainly Jyotirindra nath and Rabindranath tagore. It's quite disappointing to see the dilapidated condition of the structure.

The Tagore Hill is connected with Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore's elder brother Jyotirindranath Tagore. He settled there from 1912 to until the last day of his life. The scenic beauty is excellent. Tagore Hill is closely associated with Bengali emotion. But the place needs more care.
* No entry fees

The place offers a picturesque 360 degree panoramic view of the entire Ranchi from top. The Sunset is beautiful to watch. One can easily spend an hour enjoying the beauty of Ranchi.
There are number of steps to the top which might be difficult for small kids and aged to climb. Carry drinking water with you as nothing is available right from entrance to the top.
The steps are broken at places, the place is I'll maintained, lacks cleanliness and is dirty. The murals on wall made of cement, if maintained properly can be made attractive.
The garden requires upkeep.
Good drinking water and toilet is very much required.
After one gets down there are small shops which offers cool drinks, snacks and juices

It's a very nice and must visit place. This place is related to Rabindra Nath Tagore. But government and public should maintain this place as it has a historic value. The place is polluted . Wrappers are throne everywhere. Dustbins are not available (only few). People should respect this place and maintain cleanliness.

The true value of the place is now gone due to cleanliness issue. The tourists and government should respect this place to keep it visit worthy. Amazing view of the Ranchi City from the top of the hill. A sense of adventure and beauty of the city. The design of this building is beautiful with a small garden and it's natural beauty attracts people from far and near. It is an historical place related to freedom fighter Rabindranath Tagore.
There are stairways but they are broken everywhere. Doors are broken and unclean washroom. Be very careful when climbing stairs and rocks.
Need to be repaired and maintained by the Ranchi Tourism Department.

Hundru Falls is one of the most popular waterfalls in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. Located around 35 km from the city center, it is a popular spot for picnics, day trips, and weekend getaways.
The waterfall is located on the Subarnarekha River and falls from a height of 98 meters. It is a majestic sight to behold, especially during the monsoon season when the water flow is at its peak.
1.The best time to visit Hundru Falls is during the monsoon season (July to September) when the water flow is at its peak.
2. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, as you will need to walk down and up a flight of 750 steps.

One of the good falls near Ranchi. You can reach the upper part of the waterfall by walking some distance. To reach the lower part of waterfall, you need to climb down 750 stairs. The steps are not steep, hence the climb is on the easier side. The view is quite good here. There are small shops located around the stairs. So you don't need to carry water or other food items.
Pro tip: In case you want to have lunch and are non-vegetarian, you can choose indigenous chicken and order it before going down in the shops. They will prepare and serve the hot chicken when you come up!

Good place to hangout. The journey to get to the waterfall is as interesting as the destination. There are ~750 semi-sloping steps to the waterfall which make it fun for folks to bond over. The waterfalls themselves are pretty impressive (350 ft high). Guess there'd be more volume in the rainy seasons as compared to when I went.
Prudent to carry water bottles on the "climb" (there are small shacks on the way to purchase but you might choose not to based on your hygiene considerations).

Pahari Mandir is a significant Hindu temple located in the heart of Ranchi city. It is the tallest temple in Ranchi and provides panoramic views of the countryside. Pahari Mandir is particularly busy during Mahashivratri and Shravan month, attracting thousands of visitors to its grounds. The steps leading up to the temple give a unique experience as one counts upward from step 23, ultimately reaching a total of 396 steps before arriving at the top.
It gives a extra ordinary feeling when you go to the top by reading the step number as 23,24,25.... Total steps is 396.

A few years back it was to try from the government to swing a national flag but it was not a successful attempt, because it has created a risk on the establishment of the temple. Currently, a renovation work is going on for making the temple more strong from every point of view. This temple is a totally unique experience for all the tourist. In this temple, you may get a chance to see black NAG snake. On nag panchmi, you may see this snake which would may be lucky for you.
The accessibility is very easy to visit this place. You may go from anywhere from your car or any other vehicle. The road is nice.
From the top of the temple, you may see the entire view of Ranchi which looks so beautiful.
Government house is very close to this temple. You may also visit Rajbhawan in the month of January. Kanke dam and rock garden are also near to this temple.
There are so many different hotels are available. It depends on your bearing capacity.
Looking from the safety point of view the government has managed everything regarding yours and your family.
I will recommend to my viewers to visit this place once the oldest temple of Lord Shiva.

Shree Jagannath Temple, located about 10 km from the main city of Ranchi, is a 17th-century shrine that bears a striking resemblance to the famous temple in Puri. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and houses statues of many other deities. The temple's antique and traditional architecture is well-maintained, offering visitors a spectacular view of the mesmerizing city of Ranchi.
A must visit place in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The temple's architecture is antique and traditional as well as is well maintained. The view from the temple is spectacular and almost covers the mesmerizing Ranchi at one glimpse.❤️

I'll never travel to Bhubaneswar without this trip planner again
Dassam Falls is a serene and picturesque tourist spot situated on the Kanchi River. It boasts of a magnificent 144ft waterfall which reaches its peak between October and March. The place is perfect for family picnics as it remains beautiful and calm even during summer, with no-plastic policy in place. Visitors can also enjoy light refreshments from various stalls while their children play at the small park available nearby.
A beautiful and calm place, where water was there even during summer, a nice place for family picnic outing, a no-plastic zone, some stalls are there to provide light refreshments. A small children's park is also there as an added attraction. Well maintained with space for parking and hygienic facilities of Toilet exists.
On the way to the Falls from the nearby cities, the beauty of the mountains and nature on the way is a captivating sight to behold.
But entry is only till halfway down even then it's worth the visit. A memorable trip to become a part of nature...Far from Maddening Crowd.

One of the various Waterfalls in and around Ranchi.. Jharkhand. best to visit after monsoon.. connectivity is very good.. you have to climb down to see the Waterfalls
Ashadul Mondal — Google review
After seeing most of the major waterfalls in or around Ranchi, i can tell that this is the best in my view.
I visited during the month of july, and i recommend visiting this place in the monsoon season.
You have to walk through the stairs downward to reach falls, even there are viewpoints at every stage, better for the old ones to enjoy the view from those places.
You can bathe in the water at your own risk and safety.
Shaswata Malakar — Google review
Beautiful waterfall and is still kept clean and tidy overall. Not much population around so the scenic value gets enhanced automatically.
It has a proper parking space and a few food joints right there.
The approach road is in itself a beautiful drive and trust me when I say that you are going to love the drive as much as the waterfall itself.
Happy Travelling and Exploring.

It is a wonderful place in Jharkhand but there should be some more basic amenities. Toilets can be kept clean and in return they can charge some amount from the tourists. Roads are well connected to the place and it is also not so far from Ranchi. While coming from Ranchi one needs to be very careful for taking right turn for the fall, as there is no sign for it.
Anand Priya Deo — Google review
Visited in August end at the end of monsoons, so witnessed a huge discharge of water in the waterfall. Three streams of water converge at the top and fall. Both the views of waterfall and the whole basin from below is awesome. There are steps leading to the base from the car parking area. One can climb the rocks for a close view.
There is another path from car parking to the top area of the waterfall for a different kind of view and experience. There are no entry charges, however locals charge Rs50 when travelling by Car. The roads are marked and Google map is correct.
Enjoyed it.

This place is situated a hour ride from main city centre of ranchi , it is surrounded by dense jungle , this is a perfect picnic spot , to reach at the base of fall you need to go down 300 steps approx but the journey and view is stress beater though it can be harsh for those who are not use to steep climbing , this place is usually buzzing with tourist and huge crowd come here weekend .

It is the best waterfall located in the vicinity of Ranchi. You will have to climb down a few stairs to reach the waterfall. It also has a flat area where you can take a dip in the water if you want. The waterfall had water throughout the year, but the best time to visit this is in the rainy or spring season.

One of the good water falls in Jharkhand. It is situated around 10KM from the NH33. You have to Rs.50.00 at the entry gate maintained by local people. The local people are very good. The place is neat and clean and you can find food during weekends. There are some shops for local handicraft materials, fresh fruits and vegetables. But the water flow is very less during these days. For full waterflow you have to visit during July - August. Overall the place is very good and beautiful in raw nature. If good roads are made then it will add more value to the place.

This place is 40kms away from Ranchi and most visited destination in Jharkhand. Pure water of the Kanchi river cascades from 144ft and looks stunning. There is a top view point and also you can go down by steps to enjoy the place closely. Entry fee is not there but they charge you for parking. Steps are more so plan accordingly. But such a nice place to enjoy with family and friends.

Nice fall, less number of stairs & decent eatery options. The stairs were closed after a certain point, probably because of rain resulting in high water level. View points were created at multiple levels, some better than the others. All of them had a good amount of space for the crowd.

About an hour drive from the city. Also This is one of the dangerous waterfall so be very careful. Recently I visited during week day there was no crowd buy during weekends, holidays, new year This is full of crowd. You can spend whole day and enjoy beautiful nature view. We came from USA all the way to Dassam Falls and loved it! When we first arrived, we had fun feeding goats and dogs in the parking area, then met a monkey at the top of the falls viewing area. Got lucky and saw even more monkeys having a party. That in addition to the beautiful waterfalls in a very cool tribal setting. I wish we can come back here many times again to the wonderful state of Jharkhand!! ❤️❤️👏👏🙏🙏🙏

There are shops where we can get drinks, food, and decorative items like natural jewellery and also toys for children

I visited Sanaghagara Waterfall last weekend with my family and we had a wonderful time. The waterfall is located in a scenic forest area and the sound of the water is very soothing. The waterfall is not very high, but it is wide and has a lot of water. The water is clean and refreshing, and there is a pool at the bottom where you can swim or splash around. There are also some rocks and trees around the waterfall where you can sit and relax. The place is well maintained and has facilities like parking, toilets, changing rooms, and a small cafeteria. The entry fee is reasonable and the staff is friendly and helpful. I would recommend Sanaghagara Waterfall to anyone who loves nature and wants to enjoy a peaceful and fun day out.

With its cascading waters surrounded by lush greenery, it offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The Waterfall is nothing short of magical! The cascading water had a mesmerising flow and the sound of rushing water added to the immersive experience. Surrounded by local trees the waterfall seemed like a hidden oasis. The tall trees seemed to frame the waterfall perfectly, turning into a natural masterpiece. Be sure to bring your camera for the waterfall and its scenic backdrop offer a visual treat.

This is a great picnic spot, for kids, or adults. The place is well maintained, and the trail to the waterfall is full of lucrative views. You will go through big trees on both sides. There are kids playing areas separately created. Be aware of monkeys though. The monkeys are friendly and they don't attack unless you initiate a teasing. There is a big lake at the centre of the park where boating facilities are available. Parking is available inside the premises.
You will find delicious street food to savour your taste buds.

It is a very lovely location with a lake, waterfall, garden, and park. This location is frequently popular for picnics and leisure pursuits.
Additionally, there are grocery stores on the campus.
It's a great place to spend time with loved ones and friends. This space can be divided into two halves. One area features a lake where you may go boating and a walking route surrounds the lake. The waterfall is another area, and getting there requires a short hike from the entrance.
Small children can play with see-saws, swings, slides, and other toys.
The fact that trash is being strewn around is a disadvantage. There is a lot of trash around the waterfall. We must keep it tidy and put the trash inside.

Latest update of Sanaghagara waterfall .
1 ⭐ rating please try to upgrade those areas. No toilet and bathroom facilities are there. The bathroom is locked. If you have urgent then you have to go outside in an open area. I complained about the toilet at the ticket counter and they told me that the motor is out of order so the contractor locked both bathrooms. There is a small museum about the forest and their living beings but it was also locked outside. People and children were watching outside the window. Very badly maintained place. But the ticket price is so high . You have to pay extra for the picnic cleaning spot to the local people when they are charging for the same cause in the ticket.
Please let people enjoy the place. And authority please sit from the bloody chair and do some work at the beautiful place.

FACOR Office, GauraGopal Temple At:Kuansh, Chandan Bazar Rd, near Old, Mohanty Sahi, Bhadrak, Odisha 756100, India
Walled Hindu temple complex with multiple shrines & colourful domes, dedicated to Goddess Biraja.
One of the Ashtadasha Shaktipeethas. Powerful place this and one can experience the vibrations within a short duration of Meditation/Dhyan. Like most devotees have mentioned before priests are money minded. They are not happy with the dakshina offered but demand for a certain amount. But one must look beyond these irritations to experience the ambience of this temple.

Biraja Sakthipeeta is a historic temple located in #Jajpur. The principal deity is Matha Durgadevi, who is worshiped as Viraja. Jajpur itself is called #Viraja Kshetra and #BirajaPeetha. The Durga devi has two hands (dwibhuja), spearing the chest of Mahishasura with one hand and pulling his tail with the other. The murti's crown features Ganesha, a crescent moon and a lingam. The temple covers a large area, and has several shrines to Shiva and others. In this Sakthipeetam
Sati's navel fell. Ashtadasha Shakti Peetha Stuti Adi Shankara describes her goddess as Girija. This is also known as #NabiGaya

This is one of the major 4 Shakti Peeth of India. This is a 2 hour 30min drive from the capital of Odisha. This has its own importance. This remains less crowded on ordinary days. There is a Navi Gaya in the premises of the temple for Shradh purposes. The parking around the premises is quite good.

Biraja devi temple is a Shakti Peeth, where Sati's Navel/Nabhi is located. Serene temple and a devine Devi darshan. A bit far from Bhubaneswar though, very interior. Beware of the money minded pandits, they are common across all temples here.
Sujatha K — Google review
1) Time taken to reach the temple from Bhubaneswar Patia is about 2:30-3 hours. Actually we had taken a break for breakfast as we started from home early morning. Overall it might be around 2:20 mins.
2) The only challenge we faced at the place is the public rest room outside the temple perimeter is not clean even if they charge 5/- per person. It’s not maintained at all.
3) Just outside the temple perimeter, there is ample space for vehicle parking.
4) we had a wonderful and peaceful Darshan of Biraja Maa without any crowd or any pull/push of pandas/public
5) The temple perimeter has 7-8 more temples with lot of spaces to roam around. For elders it is a very comforting place as not much stairs to climb and they can sit under a tree if tired or during summer days
6) from temple about 3-4 km there is a Dasashwamedh Ghat which is Beside Brahmani river where people perform Pind Dana rituals.
7) It is said, that the Garva Griha within temple perimeter does not need any cleaning. Once Pind offered here, the Pind only goes to the centre of earth and it never gets filled. Nice concept I found it, as this place is one of the 51 Shakti Peeth of Maa Shakti where “NAVI” of Maa Shakti fell here.

Must visit the temple. It's a very warm feeling you will get inside the temple. You will get a chance to see all of Siva linga inside the temple.
Cons: the pujari harassment is very bad here. Pujari will force you to pay money for any offering to the goddess. Don't pay money to them and keep yourself while entering the temple do not say where you are from.
Saswat Sahoo — Google review
May have a strong history behind this temple. I heard one localite telling me that Parvvathi's part fell at this place and formed the Biraja Mandir. The main diety is Maa Parvathi. There is a pathal Jagannath Temple and it is not maintained at all as it has become a dwelling for a lot of cockroaches. Some one was distributing prasad for Rs.20 in the temple complex and few people were selling diary products. Towards the left of the temple there were plenty of Shivlings. When we went it was a bit crowded and it took about 1 hour for darshan. Some of the Decotees had orange Tika on their forehead with white thrishul in the center painted.

Maa Biraja Temple is located in Jajpur, Odisha.
It is one of a Sakti Pitha and is told to be powerful as one body part of Goddess Sati (before the birth of Parvati Devi), wife of Shivji fell here from across India. There is an ancient story about it.
This Temple is open during morning and evening hours.
The names of idols are also mentioned in Telugu.
Overall one must visit it, will feel blessed.
I am adding the map of Shakti Pithas which was present at the temple, referring which visiting to different Shakti Pithas would be easier.

Mountaintop Shiva temple surrounded by forest & caves, accessed by car or a long flight of steps.
An awesome temple situated at the top of a hill.
You can reach the place by thrilling bike road on the curvy road or you can take the 1352 stairs.
Abhada is also served during lunch time.
Be aware of the monkey.
Take lots of beautiful pictures and enjoy the beauty.
Peace.

Best place to explore nature and devotional feeling.. You just feel like you're in the lap of mother nature... If you are fit to climb the 1352 stairs, then please prefer the stairs as you will get a golden opportunity to feel the calmness and tranquility that way. I climbed the 1352 stairs all the way up to the temple and felt so satisfied about that. I think only Lord Shiva devotees can feel those brilliant feelings... A MUST VISIT IF YOU ARE IN ODISHA!!!

Hindu believed temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The ghat section needs careful and cautious driving to reach the temple. For pedestrians more than 1300 steps to be climbed. You have to be very much alert during purchasing and holding valuable items, food etc from the monkey. Pure vegetarian food (rice, dalma, chutney, curry and khir ) are available during daytime inside the temple premises. Beautiful temple surrounded by hills, jungle and small spring. At the base of Kapila's temple a children's amusement park, science garden, and a small animal zoo can be visited.

I always like to go where nature's beauty is spread all over. Kapilash is one of them. There is a temple of Lord Shiva on the top of the hill where he is worshiped. The environment is good & you can't watch the whole place in one day. Also, the washrooms and toilets are very clean to use. The best part is that you will get lost in the beauty of nature. There is a hotel that provides lunch by giving you paid token before the lunch. Lastly, I enjoyed the trip to Kapilash a lot and obviously, you will also.

The temple is famous for handicrafts, and during the three-day festival of Shivratri, thousands of pilgrims gather there. Devotees carry water from the Mahanadi in earthen vessels on their shoulders, and then trek barefoot to the hilltop to pour the water on the Shivling.

It's a best place to visit. Tample of Lord shiva(Chandrasekhar) is placed on the kapilash mountain and you have to ride 1352 stairs to reach there and it's a beautiful journey. Although there is way to travel by vehicle to the temple it's better to go by stairs if you are capable. After the Lord shiva tample you'll find Sita entudisala that is the birth place of Laba and Kusha after climbing the mountain for 15-20 mins after. Then again after 15 mins you will reach to the top which is known as Devahava where all the gods are believed to have meetings every knight.

Nestled in the Old City, Cuttack Odisha, on the confluence of River Mahanadi, Mother Chandi is the main deity who is looking after and protecting this Premier Capital of Odisha .This powerful black stone deity is the ruler of Cuttack and a living goddess.
According to legend, the present piece of land, where the holy temple is located, was lying fallow before. Late Sri Hansa Panda, who happens to be the Purohit of the then King of Kanika, experienced a strange unusual feeling within himself. Surprisingly on the same night, The Goddess "Chandika" appeared in his dream and requested him to take her out of the land.
The image of the deity is older than the temple. It is believed that she was the family deity of the Gajapati Empire in the medieval age, due to Islamic invaders' attacks she was buried while the kings migrated to Puri. This temple was established in 1946.

The arati timing of this temple is 6:30 PM. The shoe stand price is 5/- per footwear. The mandira bhog is 100/- and one deep is 20/-. The holy place is a bit pricey so better take your own puja essentials from home. The vibe is very positive and powerful here so make sure you have cleansed your brain before entering the temple or else you'll not be able to understand the feel I'm talking about. Remember to leave space in front of the lion to see maa during the arati. That's what you need to know for visiting the temple.

It's the birthplace of our great son Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. His contributions in freedom struggle can't be measured. But we Indians couldn't give enough respects to him.
However let's talk about his birthplace. His birthplace is well designed and has a record of photos to imply his contributions in freedom struggle.
To enter this place you will have to pay 10rs and this place is closed on all official holidays.
You know I entered this place from backward and felt very congested as the place is surrounded by congested bastis. So I think still we couldn't honour his birthplace.

The Nandankanan Zoological Park is an interesting zoo with a wide variety of animals, including white tigers and pangolins. It is located inside a forest, making it a unique kind of zoo.
Not recommended to visit during summer as the area is huge and walking under the sun will be tiring but still we enjoyed our safari and spent some good time here. The Zoo is well maintained and has enough exotic species like the White Tiger, Royal Bengal Tiger, Leopard and Lion.
Zoo also has large variety of crocodiles, reptiles, bears and giraffes.Entry fee is Rs 50/ per person and for safari is Rs 60/- per person. There is a battery-operated vehicle which makes travelling easy within zoo.

One of the best Zoo's of India. Spread in almost 500 acres of land. Very well maintained, spacious and greenery. Different species of Tigers, monkeys, lions and reptiles are found here along with Giraffe, Chimpanzees and birds.
Purified Cold Drinking water and Toilets are available all around the zoo for the comfort of visitors.
Jungle safari and trains are also available for adventures. Electric vehicles for those who can't walk down the zoo specially for senior citizens.
I personally had a lovely experience and would surely recommend this place to visit both for adults and children.

Well worth a visit, just be patient - the entrance to the market square is set back and very busy, but be patient as the real attraction is at the end. It is also very convenient to bring a car with a battery because it is very large. It was amazing to see tigers, white tigers and lions. Tiger safaris are also good and giraffes can also be seen.
Be sure to hire a guide to help you navigate the large zoo. Proof can be obtained once you receive your tickets.
There is a famous white tiger in the zoo and it is worth seeing. Of course, they have ferocious lions and many tigers. Lots of animals - you decide what to see and let the guide know. It takes at least two hours to walk through the zoo at a brisk pace and see all the animals. A must-see attraction! ! !
Overall, my recommendation is - spend time in Nandankanan by yourself and support the conservation efforts. It is a relatively small zoo, especially if you have been to zoos in India or overseas in bigger cities.

Nandankanan Zoological Park is a true paradise for animal lovers and families alike. Spread over vast acres of lush greenery, the park offers a unique opportunity to witness a wide array of exotic and indigenous species in their naturalistic habitats. The zoo's emphasis on animal welfare and conservation is commendable, providing a safe and enriching environment for its inhabitants.
The park's star attraction is undoubtedly the white tiger safari, where visitors can marvel at the majestic and rare white tigers roaming freely in a spacious enclosure. Additionally, the park houses a rich variety of animals, including elephants, lions, giraffes, and a diverse range of bird species.
What sets Nandankanan apart from other zoos is its unique feature of a botanical garden within the premises. The lush gardens add to the serene ambiance and provide an opportunity for visitors to relax and enjoy the natural beauty.
The zoo's dedication to education and awareness is evident through their informative exhibits and regular conservation programs. Visitors can learn about the importance of wildlife protection and the role each individual can play in safeguarding our planet's precious biodiversity.
However, to fully explore the vast expanse of the park, visitors should come prepared with comfortable walking shoes and plenty of water. Some areas might require better signages and directions for convenience.
In conclusion, Nandankanan Zoological Park is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a memorable and educational wildlife experience. Its commitment to conservation, splendid animal exhibits, and serene surroundings make it an enchanting place to connect with nature and wildlife.

The name "Nandankanan" translates to "The Garden of Heaven" in the local Odia languages.
Nandankanan has a beautiful botanical garden with a wide range of plants, making it an ideal place for nature enthusiasts. The zoo is well-equipped with amenities for visitors including a nature interpretation center, an aquarium, a reptile park, and a walk-in aviary.
Visitors can enjoy safari rides in the zoo, including a white tiger safari and a lion safari, to get a closer look at the animals in a more naturalistic setting. We have seen almost all the animals and it’s worth visiting especially with kids. They will definitely have super fun. Even though it needs a long walk it’s worth going for the animals. The animals were also given cute names to call them. The zoo is kept clean and the animals are well taken care off.
Nandankanan Zoological Park is a place where conservation, education, and recreation come together to provide an enriching experience for visitors while contributing significantly to the conservation of endangered species. It is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in wildlife and nature.

I don't really like Zoological gardens but this place was a bit different. This place was clean and the animals looked well fed. We visited this place last in 2015 and it was pretty well maintained. They also had a conducted tour bus to move conveniently inside the zoo and it was mainly for elder people and families with kids.
The zoo area is pretty big and they had a large variety of animals at their zoo. The kids and young adults would enjoy this place very much.

It was actually hot and humid weather, and the animals were also bit affected by the heat.
We went for the safari and saw mostly Peacocks and Deer. 🦌
The guide we hired was nice and friendly and helped us a lot to locate the animal cages and kept us entertaining throughout the whole trip.

I recently visited the Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar, my overall experience was superb. This offers a wide range of fascinating animals and birds, making it a delightful destination for nature enthusiasts and families. The well-maintained enclosures and the presence of helpful maps and guides throughout the zoo made the visit enjoyable.
The variety of animals and birds present at Nandankanan is truly impressive. The zoo offers a glimpse into the diverse world of wildlife. The information provided in front of each enclosure helps visitors to know about the animals.
However, amid the visit, I have a sympathy for some of the animals living in enclosures. Although efforts have been made to create suitable habitats, still the birds and animals are confined to cages.
Some of the additional attractions, such as boating, flying cars, and the safari train, were not operational during my visit.

A nicely setup zoo. It is located on a plot land with trees and scrubs that seem well equipped to accommodate a zoo. There are the usual animals, but we visited this zoo, especially to ser the indian and white tigers. It was mid day, so they were hiding or not very active. The animals were given a good sized cages with enough space to walk and run. Nevertheless, we managed to see some and take photos.
Apart from the zoo, they also have an area that they call Safari. The animals are given a much larger area to live in, and in order to see the animals, you board a bus that drives you through the different safari zones. The drivers were in a hurry to drive you around, which did not allow everybody to make photos or to observe the animals adequately.

The zoo is well maintained with good variety of wild animals and birds. The zoo has a number of Royal Bengal Tigers, White Tigers, Leopards, Lions, Giraffe, range of reptiles and crocs in reptile world, nocturnal animals and many more The zoo also facilitates safari experience (though safari world is not very big in size). You can book your your entry tickets online to enjoy hassle-free check in. Electric vehicles are available on chargeable basis. Overall a great place to enjoy wildlife.

For me, visiting this zoo leads to a good day! There is a different parking spot for the vehicle and it is charged. You need to buy tickets and show them at the entrance gate to get an entry, also you'll encounter a large crowd at the ticket counters. Tickets for individuals as well as for the safari guide are available. Since it consists of so much of diversities that are put together, that includes various animals, birds, and reptiles; you'll not find it boring at all to explore this place with your friends and family. The environment provided to the respective creatures somehow mimics their natural habitat or the wild, as well as their basic needs, are being fulfilled. The creatures where they are enclosed are quite as natural as that of the wild including a room-like space.

Our recent visit to Nandankanan left us feeling quite disappointed. While we were excited to spend a day with our family exploring the park, our experience fell short of our expectations.
The park's layout and organization seemed confusing, making it challenging to navigate from one exhibit to another. We found the signage to be inadequate, leaving us unsure about which direction to go and which animals were in each area. This led to some frustration and wasted time as we tried to find our way around.
Another letdown was the condition of some of the animal enclosures. It was disheartening to see a few enclosures that appeared cramped and in need of maintenance. The animals' well-being should be a top priority, and we were concerned about their living conditions in certain areas of the park.
Furthermore, the cleanliness of the park was a concern. We noticed litter in some sections, which detracted from the overall experience and the natural beauty of the surroundings.
On a positive note, there were a few exhibits that were well-maintained and offered an interesting glimpse into different species. However, these positive aspects were overshadowed by the overall lackluster experience we had during our visit.
NOTE: Scammers alert- DON'T BUY GUIDE TICKET FROM OUTSIDE AS IT'S A SCAM, THEY WILL QUOTE A PRICE OF RS.800/640...BUT IF YOU CHECK THE ACTUAL PRICE INSIDE THE PARK IT'S QUITE CHEAPER.

Nandankanan Zoological Park also offers additional attractions such as the White Tiger Safari and the Lion Safari, which provide a unique opportunity to observe these magnificent creatures in their natural habitats.

A really decent zoo, on its way to become a quite unique zoo. The varieties and quantities of animals they have is not that impressive compared to other famous zoos I've visited. But it is fairly entertaining. They even have battery cars for the elderly who can't walk.
One special point about them is that they have an area where they have separate division for types of animals. Like bear, tigers, lion they all live in a real mini forest made for them and we enter it through a bus. Loved the concept.

Government maintenance is lacking here. Consider hiring a guide; otherwise, you'll just be looking at animals with no context. Guide rates are ₹250 per hour for groups under 10 and ₹300 per hour for over 10 people. Even with a guide, opt for an e-vehicle ticket for a less tiring and comprehensive zoo experience. Instead of a counter ticket, scan for an e-ticket outside the ticket building. Guides may ask ₹500; show them the government rates on the website to negotiate. E-vehicle tickets may have queues but are worth it. Unfortunately we didn't get safari tickets due to crowd. The tour takes 1.30-2 hours; carry a water bottle and eat beforehand as outside food isn't allowed. Remember your cap and goggles after 11 am. The diverse animal collection is fascinating with a guide. Closed on Mondays, so plan accordingly.

Since my initial visit to this zoo in 2010, it has, I believe, seen significant development. However, there may yet be a need for improvement in areas such as cleanliness and visitor transportation throughout the zoo. These days, animals are far healthier. The unfathomable amount of individuals that visit Nandankana astounds me. It's a good location, after all, and well worth the money and time you spend. You and your family will have a great time. This place is picture perfect.
If we talk about food then it was good before 2015-16. Everything was good and delicious. But after that I felt like the quality is detoriating day by day. Now the food quality (meals) is bad. Personally I didn't like the taste at all. In my last visit I found the rice is under cooked (not edible) other side items are not up to the mark as compared to price.

If you are a big devotee and want some souvenirs related to God then you can shop at their store. If you are hungry then they offer prasadam at an affordable price. Today, the caves have been turned into a popular tourist destination, with visitors coming from all over the world to explore their intricate carvings and stunning architecture. The caves are located atop a hill, and visitors need to climb a flight of stairs to reach them. The climb can be a bit steep and challenging, but the stunning views of the city and the surrounding hills from the top make it all worth it.
Once inside the caves, visitors can marvel at the intricate carvings and sculptures that adorn the walls and ceilings. The caves are filled with intricate carvings of animals, birds, and other mythical creatures, as well as statues of the Jain Tirthankaras.
Overall, the Udayagiri and Khandagiri Hills are a must-visit location for anyone interested in history, architecture, or simply looking for a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The stunning views, intricate carvings, and serene atmosphere of these ancient caves make them a truly unique and unforgettable destination. The entry ticket is 25rs.

I visited the Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves with my family last week and I was amazed by the historical and religious significance of these ancient rock-cut caves. The caves are located on two adjacent hills, which offer a panoramic view of the city of Bhubaneswar. The caves are well-maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India and have informative signboards and guides to explain the history and architecture of the caves.
The caves are believed to be built during the 1st century BCE by King Kharavela of the Mahameghavahana dynasty for the Jain monks. The caves have beautiful carvings and sculptures depicting various scenes from Jainism, Buddhism and Hinduism. Some of the notable caves are Hathi Gumpha, which has a 17-line inscription of King Kharavela's achievements; Ranigumpha, which is a double-storeyed monastery with a courtyard; Ananta Gumpha, which has images of snakes, elephants and lions; and Ganesha Gumpha, which has a figure of Lord Ganesha on the doorway.
The caves are open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm every day and have a nominal entry fee of Rs. 15 for Indians and Rs. 200 for foreigners. There is also a fee of Rs. 25 for video cameras. The caves can be reached by bus, auto-rickshaw or taxi from Bhubaneswar. The best time to visit the caves is during the winter season when the weather is pleasant and comfortable.
I would highly recommend visiting the Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves to anyone who is interested in exploring the rich cultural heritage of Odisha. The caves are a testimony to the artistic and religious diversity of ancient India and offer a glimpse into the life and beliefs of the Jain monks. The caves are also a great place to enjoy some peace and tranquility amidst nature. I would rate the Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves 5 out of 5 stars for their historical, architectural and spiritual value.

There is no limit on the no of ticket to be issued per day. So, you will always get the ticket directly from the counter. Also I don’t think there is any official site to book the ticket online.

This place is captivating archaeological site with a rich history dating back to the 2nd century BCE. The intricate rock-cut architecture and ancient inscriptions offer a glimpse into the Jain monks' ascetic life. Exploring these caves provides a serene and educational experience, making it a must-visit for history enthusiasts and those seeking cultural insights.
