I have stayed at Jungle lore birding lodge twice, once alone and second time with my parents. What a memorable trip it was ! Everything about Jungle lore birding lodge is unique and interesting. The lodge, set amidst the pine forest is away from the hustle and bustle of Nainital, making it a perfect quaint and peaceful getaway for city people. Their bird hides are excellent. The lodge is a must visit place in Pangot for bird photographers and nature lovers. We had a very comfortable stay at Jungle lore and the staff is extremely courteous and helpful. The food is simple and homely, yet delicious and flavoursome. Would love to go again !

What you Seek , is Seeking you..
This trip was undertaken with an intent to do something special for our dog ( winter).
One can imagine that not many places can create a welcome and safe environment for your pet. Jungle Lore , Birding Lodge @ pangot close to Nainital was just the place that left our whole family wanting more.
It’s a calm , beautiful and open place with all comforts and amazing staff. I found that the food , attention to detail , loving care and overall hospitality was just unbelievably good. Our son and dog could experience sitting in the clouds living actual rain with tons of greenery and overhanging mountains. Particularly our walks and treks in and around were just gorgeous. With very little traffic ( humans included) you could feel an inner calm like no other while walking these woods.
If you are keen to wake up to amazing sounds of birds chirping , winds guzzling and a sweet cold Gush of wind on ur face then look no further.
Lastly the whole team at this retreat has worked dedicatedly to ensure you feel warmth , love and joy. You are encouraged to move and walk , watch and play and loose urself to the environment which is breathtaking and just needs you to pause and reset.
Happy Travels
Winter , Nikko, Sukriti & Jeevan.

I had an incredible experience at Jungle Lore Lodge in Pangot! The location is simply breathtaking, offering stunning views of the mountains and lush forests. The Pahadi style cottages, including the Cheer and Khalij cottages we stayed in, were both beautiful and comfortable. It was a family getaway, and we cherished our two days there.
The food was a delightful home-style cuisine, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Their eagerness to serve was truly commendable. I must give a special shoutout to Team Leader Bhuwan, who was exceptionally helpful throughout our stay.
What touched our hearts the most was how they took care of our mother, who had difficulty walking. They not only provided assistance but also made her birthday celebration unforgettable with a traditional local touch. Jungle Lore Lodge is more than just a place to stay; it's a warm and welcoming haven in the lap of nature. Highly recommended!

We stayed there for a couple of days and it was a fine experience. It is a must place for birders. They have a good hide out beside a water hole. A number of birds and animals drink water and have bath and one can observe and take beautiful pictures from the hideout. The cottages are beautifully furnished and decorated in a quaint way. The service was very nice too. They provide good guide for birdwatching too. The only downside is the tariff, which is a bit on the higher side.

Had a fantastic stay. The place is beautiful and the staff so hospitable. They do not say no to anything. Very warm and helpful always. Irrespective of the category of room you stay in, service is the same and top notch. Bhuwan, the manager/caretaker is a Gem of a person, explains everything with a lot of heart and genuine concern is evident from all conversations with him. Found the prices also very reasonable and looking forward to coming here with family. The review cannot be complete without sharing something about the naturalist Mahesh. He has so much enthusiasm and love for his craft, that having him as a guide while birding makes you love the whole experience so much more. A must stay if you are into birding, or if you are looking for a quiet recluse in the lap of nature.

Excellent experience, great hospitality. This is my 2nd stay and doesn't feel old. The staff Tejpal ji, Vijay and the naturalists are so thoughtful, caring and pleasant. Gajvir ji naturalist made it memorable for us by helping us spot 50 species. Great food, great location.... expect birds in the front yard. Love this place and the serenity it affords.
Bhharti Dekate — Google review
I had a great time. Special mention for Mr Tejpal and Jagjeevan who made our stay extremely comfortable and informative.
Pro Tip: Book Cheers Cottage if you don't want to climb many stairs.
Pro Tip 2: Only take the regular route. If it's blocked due to any reason postpone your travel as the alternate route (Zoo Road) is very narrow and cars tend to get stuck. Unless you have a smallish car like an Alto which would pass easily. I took my Scorpio and while I managed without a scratch I wouldn't recommend the route to anyone.

I would like to thank very much Asian Adventures and especially Iqbal Ahmad for organising our family bird photography trip to Pangot in Uttarakhand in December 2022. In Pangot we spent great two weeks in Jungle Lore Birding Lodge. The weather was very nice and the food and service very good. We have seen and photographed a lot of beautiful birds around the lodge and in the surrounding areas. Asian Adventures gave us a very good bird guide Mahesh who was able to find even the most difficult birds and a very good driver Pawan who drove exceptionally well in this difficult mountain terrain. Tejpal as well as the other service man in Jungle Lore Birding Lodge cared about us as for the members of their own family. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Once again thank you very much to all of you. For us it was an unforgettable experience.

An amazing place for birdwatchers and nature lovers. The staff is extremely nice, attentive and helpful. The huts are wonderful and romantic. The food is excellent and freshly prepared for each meal. Tea, coffee, lassi... are available at any time and one can enjoy drinking them while sitting in the beautiful garden, watching birds, monkeys and other wildlife. The birdwatching guides are well trained, and our guide Gajvir was polite and a very good birdwatcher. We enjoyed every minute and would definitely come back.

Get yourself blessed and get peace of mind. All the Pandit ji are truly dedicated to their service, no way of making fool of devotees by asking for money. We went on a weekend and there was more rush than usual and we had to park our car near round about. Make sure you are visiting on weekdays to avoid waiting.

Ancient temple which legend has was promulgated by the Pandavas. Over a 100 steps (LONG) so it's a climb which requires some fitness and faith. However, the temple has a lot of positive energy and the view is worth it all.
Holding back a 350-year old heritage is the Mukteshwar temple in Mukteshwar town, Nainital. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is extremely famous among devotees of Lord Shiva. Situated at a height of 2,312 meters above sea level, this temple is both sacred and beautiful. The Pandavas, during their 12 year-long exile, constructed this temple being Shiva followers, in the hope of getting Mukti or salvation from their troubled life.
Unlike most popular hill stations, Mukteshwar is an unspoiled natural beauty offering a mesmerizing view of the sun-kissed mountain peaks, beautiful-beyond-words sunset. Jim Corbett, the famous hunter and conservationist, once came to hunt a man-eating tiger at Mukteshwar and immediately fell in love with the place.

Beautiful Shiva Temple, located atop of a mountain. You need to walk 7-800 meters to reach the temple (depending where you find the parking) which also includes the staircase to the temple.
Right at the entrance of the premises you will find shops serving food and Pooja Prasad. You will also find vendors of seasonal fruits, I had 'Kaafal' for the first time in my life. Fruit has a different aroma and have a real big seed compared to the fruit itself but a must try if you love fruits. You will find Shikanji vendors too and guides who charge 300 INR for a stroll (we never took one).
The temple is a high energy point, I could feel the vibration just by facing my palms towards the temple. Although they keep it dirty, it can be managed better I felt like give me an hour and I will clean this mess up.
Along the temple there is a cliff below the temple and a vast view of the valley surreal for sure.
They have food tapris, picture points and even ziplining (500 pp). I did the zipline and my heart was pounding out of my mouth due to vertigo.
You will surely need 3-4 hours to enjoy the beauty of the valley and the magic of the temple.
Har Har Mahadev.

A must visit place whenever you are in Nainital. Around 40 km from Nainital, this place is a heaven. Mukteshwar temple is very old temple (Pandavas /Mahabharat linked) . Mukteshwar has a very pleasant weather all year around. Even if it is hot in Nainital or surrounding, you will feel so cool in mukteshwar. The devdar forests are so so soothing and beautiful that you will want to get lost. Do visit on 2 wheeler then you will enjoy more . Riding bike in that heaven is an experience in itself. Selfie points tea and Maggie are delicious, do try.

The place is beautiful but there is no parking space for lot of traffic. The temple is clean and well maintained but during peak season it’s really crowded and one has to wait for an hour for their turn to visit the main temple.
There is also a way that leads to a view point which is beautiful.

Popular hiking spot & scenic overlook high atop a cliff with a sheer drop & a historic temple.
This place is HANDS down the best view point in all around mukhteshwar. I believe it is highly underrated, but it’s the perfect place to watch the sunset! I’ve been here 4 times already and every time I wish to come back yet again! You’ll get absolutely 180 degree views here and will simply be amazed at it. There are large boulders which are situated across the place where you can sit, have your Maggi and hot tea, and just enjoy the view. I would 10/10 recommend everyone to go here if you’re near town! Totally worth it!

This is a good place but due to lots of commercial activities the place is getting dirty. I will suggest that from Mukteshwar dham mandir take left side of the road to first visit chauki ki jaali and return via jungle trek towards mandir and visit mandir on return. This way you don not need to climb so many stairs to reach mandir. There is a flying fox, it is must try (for long one the list price is 500 but you may get around 100 discount if bargain or if you are going in group).

Love advanture...love trekking...love some quiet blessed time with your TRUE self....then CHAULI KI JALI is the place you are searching for. Near about 500 metre from the famous Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple you will find the cliff of the hill...a very rare type of stony structure... popularly known as Chauli Ki Jali or Hole in the Rock. The place is literally blessed with silence and serenity...a view from the top is worth treasuring. But be very careful...a little carelessness can cause big danger.

This place is situated just beside the Mukteshwar Dham Temple. There is walkway just beside the entry of the temple that leads you to this place. On the entry to the walkway, you have small open shops and eateries where you can munch on Samosa, Kachori, Fruit Chat, Rajma Chawal, Dal Chawal and much more.
You need to walk around 500 mts before you reach this place and once you reach there are more eateries. There are even two ziplines if you are someone who loves thrill. The place is now heavily commercialized and that's my first complain with this scenic place. Chauli ki Jhali is essentially a mountain cliff which gives you breath-taking views of Himalayas and there is no wonder this place is so popular but due to heavy commercialization the place is very dirty and too crowded.
You can spend good 15-20 mins here taking back the mesmerizing views the place has to offer. Also dno't forget to click some pics on the first cliff just when you enter the area. That spot is a good one.
Totally recommened and more so in off season.

Many people go to this area for sightseeing and having an adrenaline pumping rock climbing revel in.
One can have a mesmerising view of the Himalayan range and Kumaon Valley from the brink of Chauli Ki Jali. According to Hindu mythology, the goddess and demon had a erce battle at this location. There is a trunk of an elephant, a shield and indenite outlines of a sword, which serves as the testament of the struggle.

There are plenty of maggi and tea points for a quick bite. And the trail leading to this place is also beautiful and starts near the shoe stand of Mukteshwar Mahadev temple.

It's an awesome place nearby Mukteshwar Dham Temple where you can visit directly from the temple as well as separate road from the main road.
The view from this place is amazing and there is a rock at the edge that locals believe to help couples without children to conceive.
Other attractions of the place includes:
Adventure activities conducted on small scale by some groups with zipline.
Small food stalls that sells maggie, pakodas and other snacks. Do try sweet & sour Malta fruit juice which is amazing, you won't get it anywhere else with the same taste.

A good place to take photos and this place is beside the mukteshwar dham temple.
There are shops for having snacks at normal price and viewpoint is awesome.
Sunset view was pleasing to watch and capture and there was zipline as well.
The charge for zipline was ₹500
Best time to visit is around 4.30 pm so that you can enjoy the sunset after taking some photos.

The adventurous visitors can even indulge in rock climbing, rappelling activities or zip lining. Must visit place if anyone travelling towards Mukteshwar.

The place offers an amazing view of the valley! It is best to visit the place during sunset. Reach the view point by 5:30 PM to catch the sunset as the cloud cover increases in the evening- which may hinder your sunset view.
To reach the view point, take a short trek through the woods from the Mukteshwar Temple.

PWD Inspection House
Road construction company
Sights & Landmarks
Architectural Buildings
This heritage property has been taken over by KMVN few years back, so now any body can book it.
Legendary Jim Corbett stayed here when he came to kill the man-eater of Uttarakhand. That was 1929, almost 100 years back. This makes the stay in the PWD GH more exciting.
Mukteshwar has its own beauty. But this guest house is even more beautiful. It feels heavenly. Very close to Delhi, about 8 hours drive including break for food etc. Due to this reason it remains booked for the entire year. Avoid holiday seasons and weekends when there is extra rush.
Now let's talk about the property and beauty of nature. It's a very old building made from wood. With old styled wooden sloping roof, extended box glass window, full wooden walls you have modern day beds, toilet, furniture. You will feel very relaxed and comfortable.
Glass window gives a near 180 degree view of the himalayan ice caps. There is a lawn in front of the guest house which offers unobstructed view of the snow clad mountains.
We stayed there for 3 nights and didn't do any sight seeing. All that we went there for was in front of us. You will never get bored of looking at the snow clad mountain range.
Food is good. Staff is helpful.
KMVN tourist lodge is located across the road. It's a modern day building but does not offer same view. However, the kitchen and dining hall is there. So you have to walk about 100 meters up the slope or about 30 steep steps to have your breakfast, lunch and dinner. Make sure that you book room no 4 here. It's the best.

This is a must visit attraction of Mukteshwar which shouldn't be missed . The history of this banglow is directly related to Jim Corbett himself . And one can stay in the property too having prior booking . The Himalayan peaks are very clearly visible from here till Nepal . Such beauty isn't visible from Any point . The height of this place is around 7500 feet . Nanda devi peaks and almora are in straight line of sight . The details of all the visible peaks are also mentioned from the view point which is very educative for young kids .
Jeevan Talwar — Google review
Has a beautiful view of the Himalaya. On a clear day you would be able to see a almost a 360 degree view of the valley and range. Very close to the Chauli ki jali and Mukteshwara Dham Temple. Go there check out the view and just relax and soak in the beauty with a cup of warm coffee. I just wish we were there on a day with clear weather.

Heritage Hotel with amazing views.
The bungalow is old fashioned which was once a heritage site. Now it is run by KMVN as a hotel. The luxury rooms are well kept and the staff is courteous. Breakfast and Dinner are included in room tariff. The food is delicious and home-style. There is a nice lawn/garden. The view is amazing. Mornings are very special very bird chirping and the scenic beauty of sunrise hitting the top of snow bounded mountains.
Just grab a cup of tea and enjoy a nature.
Pushp Kush — Google review
A small treak from chauli ki jali leads you to pwd inspection house and it’s beautiful since the local people had tried to keep it clean. There is also an public convenience (sulabh restrooms) available (payments to be done ) they water is scarce so most of time no waters in restrooms. Must watch for the seven peaks watch.

Patal Bhuwaneshwar is a cave temple of Shiva. The temple is amazing with underground cave and there are guides available (charge is 100/- and it's included with the temple ticket) who explain everything.
Temple is walkable distance from the road, and there are restaurants near the main gate.
Mobiles are not allowed inside the temple.
Entrance and exit are quite narrow,so if you're claustrophobic I would suggest you not to visit.

This is a must visit place when you plan for Pithoragarh. This place has a cave which is dedicated to lord Shiva. The cave is made from a single rock and taking cell phone is not allowed. One priest takes you inside the cave along with a group and tells the complete details of it.
This is a must once in a lifetime visit.
Suggested to go there during winters as the number of tourists is low. During summers it is very much crowded, also avoid going during monsoons

An out of the world experience and a mystical place! We visited this temple recently on our trip to Kainchidham, as the driver who rode the car we booked, suggested this temple as a must visit. He told the story of foreigner (one of Maharajji’s devotee) had recently visited with the intent to discover a new place and had initially planned to be there only for a day. But after visiting the place he stayed there 3-4 days more than he intended. This story intrigued us and we decided to take the trip. When we entered the mountain territory of the temple the vibes shifted, they were intensely peaceful and the nature was calm. The temple itself too is very powerful and we felt immense spiritual energies. A must visit for those seeking a unique experience that can’t be expressed in any reviews or words but felt for own!

An awesome experience for a claustrophobic person like me, it was kind of a challenge I took to fight my inner demon to reach this place, i.e., claustrophobia ! Since the place is started from a very narrow rock formation and needs to go straight deeper, it somehow requires physical fitness and to some extent mental strength to reach here. But once you manage to reach, you will be mesmerized with the reminiscence of the great Hindu mythology. DO VISIT HERE IF YOU CAN!

Beautiful place and wonder of nature. You climb down around 90 feet thru a very narrow channel. Inside there is very big cave with different more caves inside. Unfortunately inside photography is not allowed.
Inside the cave you will get surprising and spectacular view of long hairs of Shankar. Kaliyug indicator 33koti dev, a Shivling, Sheshnag balancing earth, takshak and wasuli serpents, Pandav and Vyas caves and much more. Every thing is related with spiritual and religious stories. Shri Adi Shankaracharya found this cave and bring in light for people. It is said that there are tunnels to Chardham, Kailash caves within the cave.

You can sit in the peaceful environment and relax. There are people who sell many articles and crafts related to deities outside the temple. Also there's Prasad available that you buy if you want extra.

Wish they had let me play … this club is exclusively for the services people. The fairways seem good but not green like it is typical with the army maintained golf courses in the hills. It has become more of a cross point than stay point with the barricades across the park. Greenery is only in the pics rather than in reality and is no longer a picnic spot. Maybe this has been done due to certain improvement changes

Binsar zero point is located deep within the forest and offers a serene environment for nature lovers. To reach this point, visitors must trek for about 20-30 minutes after entering Binsar wildlife sanctuary. The trek is relatively easy with a wide path that passes through dense forests. Once at Zero point, tourists can enjoy breathtaking views of mountains and lush greenery while immersing themselves in the tranquility of nature.
Binsar zero point is right in the jungle. If you like silence and music of the forest, it is worth it. Truly nature unhindered and untouched.
You have to trek 20-30 minutes to reach the zero point once you have entered Binsar wildlife sanctuary and reached as far as your vehicle can take you. The trek is fairly easy and trekking path is wide. It is right through the middle of dense forest.
Once at Zero point you get to see breathtaking mountain views and greenery. You can sit relax and let the vibes surround you.
You have to register vehicle and buy tickets to enter the wildlife sanctuary - on the spot and no prior reservation is needed. It is like rs. 250 for vehicle and rs. 150 for individual. As it was a solo trip for me, I don't know how families are charged.

The highest point in Binsar. We stayed in TRH, Binsar and the trek from the hotel to the zero point is excellent. It passes through thick forest and one can watch several varieties of birds. The trek path to the zero point is also well led. The view from the top is also splendid. On a clear day, one can see snow-laden peaks of Himalayas, but we were unlucky.
Kamlesh Chandra — Google review
Great point to get some views of the Nanda Devi and other peaks. Best to go early in the morning before 7am on a very clear day for best views. Won't get the views in cloudy or rainy weather. It's an easy hike to this place. The viewing tower built could have been much better for better views and pictures.
Karan Hemani — Google review
In a nutshell, not worth it. It's an average hike at the end of a 45 minute drive up a steep hill. For two passengers and a car, the entry fee is 600. A 90 minute round trip for a 2 km hike is simply not worth it. The roads are poorly maintained and can barely fit two cars at it widest points.
The forest is dense. There is no wildlife. Signboards with animal and butterfly pictures is the best you'll get to see. I did manage to snap a lizard of sorts, but barring the rhododendron trees, there's nothing more to see. Not much of a view. In fact, one can't even pan around at the top of the hill.
Everyone we encountered was either fed up or enjoying being taken for a ride. Even the guards said 'best avoid this trip', it's full of 'pot holes and bad roads'. I guess we're no wiser to have not heeded the advice!
Be a good tourist. Carry your junk back with you. Don't go, frankly. The place is in a state of ruin. Your car will probably get dinked.
Gaurav Mehta — Google review
The ticket counter is at the Binsar wildlife sanctuary gate.
Ideal time to reach that gate is 3 am or 4 am.
Post buying your tickets it's a 10 km steep and tough drive uphill, which takes 30-45 minutes atleast till TRH (Tourist Rest House of KMVN)
This drive is AWESOME if u like to drive on a mountain.
Though it's dangerous, however if u drive carefully it's a beautiful drive through nature.
When u reach TRH, park ur car, then mountain climbing to zero point is needed which is 2 km upwards.
It's tiring but it's a nature walk, which i wil never forget...it's so beautiful, mesmerizing, scary (bcos u travel/walk alone midst the jungle pathway) yet nostalgic.
When u r tired enough then u come across the two floor open zero point structure.
The sight from zero point is from where u can actually see the Himalayas.
U can sit and meditate there as the energy there is very spiritual.
Carry some water with you when u walking up the zero point trail.

ANASAKTI ASHRAM...a place of Heart's Desire....No, I am not a very soulful, sentimental person rather a very pragmatic one. But there are some places, some beliefs, some memories, some sentiments buried deep under... ANASAKTI ASHRAM is one of my childhood dreams come true. Kaushani is itself a majestic creation of GOD...a place so serene and picturesque, all your worries will be vanished... that's why it is the Mini Switzerland of India. But, believe me, ANASAKTI ASHRAM is a place beyond earthly beauty...a place of Heart's Desire, a place all about feelings,...old moral values. No, thanks to modern business mentality, the place lost its celestial aura but a deep searching within yourself will surely transport you to an age where GANDHIJI himself reside here. The age-old ashram house is now turned into a pay boarding...Rs 600/ to Rs 850/ for double bed and Rs 1250/ for a suite and Rs 100/ for per meal. But business apart, once you are inside the campus, you will surely transport to another Higher World.🙏🙏

Decent entry level trek. Trek even kids can enjoy. If going in summers then go for trek not for watwrfall as there won't be any waterfall. But lovely views of hills and jungle an area who's is very less explored. I had kids aged from 7 to 15 and all of.tjem did the trek on foot and enjoyed throughout.

Its a 3 km easy trek from road to the temple. If you are visiting it in monsoons beware of leeches as the trek goes inside the mixed temperate forest. It's a very old cave temple located along the river Kosi. A beautiful waterfall can also be seen next to the temple. A worth visiting place for nature lovers, trekkers and religious souls if nearby Kosani.

Nature & Parks
Hiking area
Waterfalls
Remote area only accessible by a trail, offering a peaceful waterfall near a small temple & caves.
So epic this place is.
There is a track routed to the temple. No proper track is available just a rough way to reach the temple. But when you reach the temple you forget tiredness in between the distance. Travelled by foot.
Must visit once in a lifetime

Visit this place in rainy season if you want to see some good waterfall. This place is located around 12 km from Kausani. You can drive your car to this place, then there is a trek of about 1.5 km. Trek is of normal difficulty not that hard. Once you reach the spot you can see the waterfall and visit the temple located adjacent to it. It would take around take total of 3 hours (including trek) to visit Rudrarahi waterfall.

It's a beautiful small easy trek, takes around 30 mins one way. The waterfall had a small pond at its base and a temple built right next to it.
One can even bathe in the pond if one wishes

From my experience the best time to visit the Rudradhari Falls would be during the monsoon or later May.
There is a beautiful trek of about 1.5KM.
The waterfall has a Shiv Temple adjacent to it.
There are many Eateries before the trek but none on the way.
The water is clean and cold.
Must visit!

This temple is inside a cave deep in the forest. The hike to the temple is a short yet lovely one. Especially if you start very early in the morning. I had a great time hopping boulders, crossing streams, picking up Rhododendron flowers and clicking ton of pics. A must do hike if in Kausani, but not for the seniors who may have joint pain or are not used to hiking.

The Trek was great... The mahdev temple is very peaceful... Was expecting the waterfall to be more voluminous... But because we went there just before monsoon ...the water fall was very scarce...
I think the waterfall can be expected to be in good shape after monsoon...
All in all good treking experience for beginners

Its a nice waterfall located in Bageshwar district not very far away from Kausani. I went to visited in the month of July when some Rain was there. You have to track through a jungle trail for 1.5 km to each it. During monsoon season the quantity of water falling down was very good. Crossing the stream 6 times made the experience memorable. Don't forget to visit the ancient temple located adjacent to it.

Situated in Kausani.
Reach Kausani from Almora or Bageshwar road. First cover Sumitra Nandan Pant House, Gandhi Anasakti Ashram, Sarala Ben ashram.
Then book a taxi (Rs. 600-700) to Rudradhari waterfall.
Road is ok. Around 10KM from kausani. Then 4-5KM walking way from jungle. You can take guide also.
Beautiful walking place besides river.. open in all season, check rainy days situation.
Take Shivji's blessings, offer Dakshina to priest, offer waterfall jal to shivji.

It's mainly Mahadev 🙏 temple not only waterfall in the valley.
Trek is about 3 kms to and fro. In this Trek you cross water streams multiple times so plan accordingly.
In starting of this Trek you found food shops.. no food shops or pooja material shops nearby Mahadev temple or waterfall.
Avoid to going in rainy season.
Keep environment clean. Don't throw garbage in the Trek.

My experience of Baijnath temple was quite spiritual to say the least. Looking at the temple and its construction the layout takes you back in time. on a Sunny day the floor beneath you will get very warm (as in my case) and it might burn your feet if you stand in place for two long.
There is a lake just next to the temple in one can up for booting in the lake It costs around 100rs per head.
This temple holds the title of one of the UNESCO world Heritage sites and it well deserves it.

Group of small ancient temples.
Artificial lake there...very dirty and shallow water.
Baijnath is famous for its ancient temples, located at an altitude of 1126 mts, on the banks of the Gomti River in the Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand. The town draws its name from the Baijnath temple. It is one of the important places to visit in Bageshwar (Kumaon region) because of its historical and religious importance.
The temple holds significance because, according to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva and Parvati were married at the confluence of River Gomati and Garur Ganga. Dedicated to SivaVaidyanatha, the Lord of Physicians, the Baijnath temple is actually a temples’ complex built by the Katyuri kings with the idols of Shiva, Ganesh, Parvati, Chandika, Kuber, Surya and Brahma. Also the town of Baijnath draws its name from the temple.

Baijnath temple bageshwar is a beautiful and historic temple complex dedicated to Lord Shiva and Parvati. The complex has 18 temples with amazing carvings and sculptures, dating back to the 12th century. The main temple is Vaidyanath, where Shiva is worshipped as the lord of medicine. The Parvati temple has a rare statue of Parvati with Shiva in a loving pose. The complex also has temples for other deities such as Ganapati, Karttikeya, Narsimha, Brahma and more. The best time to visit is during Shivratri and Makar Sankranti, when the complex is festive and lively. The complex is also a good base for trekking to nearby places such as Rudradhari waterfall and cave and Pinnath temple. Baijnath temple bageshwar is a must-visit place for anyone who loves history, culture and spirituality.

Koteshwar Mahadev Temple is around 6 kms from Rudraprayag on banks of river Alaknanda. It is natural cave temple with natural spring water dripping on mahadev lingum. Legend says that this is the place where Lord Shiva prayed for help and Lord Vishnu took Mohini avatar to kill Bhasmasur who was trying to kill Shiva after he got blessings from him only that he will be able to burn anyone to ashes, if he puts his hands on the person's head. Mohini tricked him to touch his own head and Bhasmasur died. Temple has powerful spiritual vibes and a must visit.
Mrinal Braj — Google review
The temple is situated on the bank of river Alaknanda. The natural environment around the temple is very much liked by the devotees who come here. The legend about the temple is prevalent that in ancient times Lord Shiva stayed in this cave while going to Kedarnath. There are idols of Goddess Parvati, Ganesh ji, Hanuman ji as well as other deities around the temple. Thousands of devotees reach here every year on Mahashivratri. Even in the month of Sawan, many Shiva devotees come to visit here.
Shivam Dixit — Google review
A very nice place, people should come to this place ahead of Rishikesh Haridwar, you will get to see immense peace and wonderful view here. The river coming out between the two mountains creates an awe-inspiring sight. You can also see the natural Shivling in the cave here, where the divine feeling is experienced. I have seen many people and children getting their heads shaved here, they were shedding those hairs in the river itself, this is very wrong, a pond can be made where these hairs can be flowed. To pollute the river in any way is to insult its sanctity, then what are these people worshipping? Temple administration should interfere in this

It's a lord Shiva temple at the riverbank of Alakananda river. It is 3km away from Rudraprayag town. Numbers of caves are the. The mandir is covered by marbel rock wall. According to mythology lord Shiva meditated here for lord Vishnu and after that Vishnu killed Vashmasur. It is a very holy place to visit you can meditate for mental relaxation.

It's a beautiful temple to visit for the view and the vibe but most importantly Mahadev. The main temple is in a cave which is self-made by nature, even the Shivling is self-made. On the walls of the cave you will get to see shapes of different animals of water like fish, seahorse etc. And the view from between the mountains is just Mesmerizing. Now some other temples are made to stay so that is also an option.
Overall must visit this place. Har har Mahadev 🙏

Koteshwar Mahadev, Uttrakhand 🔱
It is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva, and is located approximately 3 kilometres from the Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand, a little above the Alaknanda River.
The location is presumed to be the spot where God Shiva had stopped for meditation on his way to Kedarnath. According to local legends the temple has existed since the time of Bhasmasura.
This was the demon who turned to ashes anyone whose head he touched. Shiva went into hiding to escape this threat, resting in various places before coming to the cave at Koteshwar Mahadev. Shiva rested here.

Gorson Bugyal is a well-known alpine meadow located in the Himalayas, famous for its picturesque wildflowers and stunning views of Nanda Devi and Nanda Ghunti peaks. The trek to this destination covers approximately 2-3 kilometers, taking around 2 hours on the ascent and 30 minutes on descent. We were told that most people walk up and down in about 4 hours flat and that it was a pleasant walk through slightly undulating highlands.
Keeping our heart conditions in mind we preferred to take the ponies for some 1200/pony for a total of half an hours stay up there. The path up was very pleasant and through some of the loveliest jungles, we had occasion to be in. On reaching the top there was nothing but there was everything. Complete tranquility, pure air and picture-postcard perfect locales.
The army jawans returning form a trek somewhere behind the next hill added to the mystique of the place.
Stayed there for around 45 of the loveliest minutes of our life.
Don't forget to take everything you could ever want with you, including water bottles, eatables if you want them and anything else you could want because there are no shops or even stalls after you leave the base point of the trek.

Although this was our first trek and it was a bit tiring, but was totally worth giving full effort on the trek. Take water and any type of liquids and solid snacks from tower no 10.
Take a guide for trekking, it cost us rs 1500 for the guide and we were provided a stick as well. Max altitude we reached upto 10,700 ft. Don't burden yourself with unnecessary items as it will slow you down.

(We went on Christmas, so snow was till ankle)
Best time to visit, after Christmas to Feb, ( Snow can get as much as till knees) traffic was high so reach as early as possible to avoid queues and rush while returning.
Things to brings, snacks/shops are available still you can bring your own
Trekking, 2 hour long moderate difficulty trekking, bring your own trekking gear, however for snow activities, you will be provided required equipments.
If you do not want to trek to reach at top, use rope way, (up/down included) rate ~500/person, (rope way timings are strict and need to follow, you would get ~4 hours up there before you need to return) then ride mule (up/down included, 30 min each way) to reach top, rates depends on traffic.
As sun ☀️ goes down and windy weather, cold will increase exponentially, bring warm clothes and do preparations accordingly.

Wow, What a place!!!
It is the Highest Shiva Temple of the world and situated on the Himalayan Mountains of Chopta. I went in the last week of March and found snow there all around. We can reach there by Trek for around 5 KM. It is a challenging trek when there is snow because it becomes slippery. So, bring either your own proper trekking shoes or rent out trek shoes there. During snow, you can bring one or two sticks with you which helps you in trekking. When you reach Tungnath temple, there you find yourself as the most confident and happy person and have a positive energy inside you. Also, the view from there is fantastic and you can see peaks of the other Himalayan range mountains. My experience was good and I want to do again in the future. 😊

Tungnath Temple, situated in the majestic Himalayas, left an indelible mark on my heart. I had the privilege of visiting this divine abode in May, and despite the season, the lingering chill in the air and the remnants of snow from a recent snowfall added to its enchantment.
The journey to Tungnath Temple itself was a breathtaking experience, surrounded by awe-inspiring mountain vistas and lush greenery. As I reached the temple, I was captivated by its serene beauty and ancient architecture, which stood in perfect harmony with the surrounding natural landscape.
What truly amazed me was the sight of the lingering snow. It served as a reminder of the temple's mystical allure, creating a magical atmosphere. Even in May, the chill in the air and the pristine whiteness of the snow evoked a sense of wonder and reverence.
The spiritual aura of Tungnath Temple is undeniable. It is believed to be the highest Shiva temple in the world, and its sanctity resonates through the prayers and rituals performed there. The tranquil environment allowed me to immerse myself in deep contemplation and find solace amidst the grandeur of nature.
Visiting Tungnath Temple was a soul-stirring experience that blended natural beauty, spiritual devotion, and a touch of winter wonder. It is a place where one can connect with the divine, bask in the serenity of the mountains, and be reminded of the timeless power and grace of nature. It's the world's highest Shiv temple.
Beautiful place. Beautiful view
You have to trek 4km to reach the temple or you can take mules if you can't trek.
You can also visit Chandrashila from here further than 2km from the temple.

The moderate level trek but once you reach the top the view is amazing. As it's highest Shiva temple located 12,000 feet above sea level.
There is a very positive vibe around the temple.
It takes 2-3 hours to complete this 4 km trek.
It's a must visit once in lifetime.

The Tungnath Temple trek, spanning about 3.5 kilometers, typically takes around 4 to 5 hours to complete, offering a moderate ascent through lush forests and blooming rhododendrons. What makes this journey exceptional is the elevated location—the Tungnath Temple, recognized as the world's highest Shiva shrine, is situated at an altitude of approximately 3,680 meters (12,073 feet) above sea level.
The temple's architecture, though quaint, exudes a spiritual charm against the backdrop of majestic Himalayan peaks. Pilgrims and trekkers alike find solace in the serene ambiance, enhanced by the surrounding natural beauty. The deity worshipped here is Lord Shiva, and the temple holds immense religious significance for devotees.
Reaching Tungnath, you'll not only be captivated by the breathtaking views but also by the sanctity of the place. The trek, in essence, becomes a pilgrimage, with every step reinforcing a connection with both nature and spirituality.
The Tungnath Temple is usually closed during the winter months, typically from November to April, due to heavy snowfall and harsh weather conditions. Therefore, the best time for the Tungnath trek is during the summer and early autumn months, from May to October.
In summary, plan your Tungnath trek between May and October when the temple is open, and the weather conditions are conducive to a safe and enjoyable journey.

Tungnath Mahadev Temple, located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, holds the distinction of being one of the highest temples in the world, situated at an altitude of around 3,680 meters (12,073 feet) above sea level. Devotees and travelers alike are drawn to its serene ambiance and stunning mountain vistas. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is a significant pilgrimage site for Hindus. Its remote location amidst the breathtaking Himalayas adds to its allure, making it a must-visit for those seeking spiritual solace and natural beauty. However, due to its high altitude and challenging terrain, reaching the temple can be physically demanding, requiring proper preparation and acclimatization. Overall, Tungnath Mahadev Temple offers a unique blend of religious devotion, natural splendor, and adventure for visitors willing to undertake the journey.

Awsome trek to the temple with mezmerizing views. its a starter trek 10-12 hours. if there is snow i would recommend to wear spikes. we fell quite a few times. but the view throughout was simply jaw dropping. we stayed the night in chopta and it was the best star gazing i did in my life. i couldn’t simply keep my head down.
Very nice experience. I have travelled in many ropeways in India as well as in in other countries. Considering the cable-car itself it's not anything special. 30 people can stand in the car. It's bit uncomfortable when full as the car itself is not that spacious.
However what is special is the terrain where the cable car is built. The lower tower is at 6252 ft and the upper tower is at 10,200 ft. So the elevation gain is almost 4000 ft which is very rare in India.
It takes almost 25 minutes to go up and 22 minutes to come down.
The scenary from the Ropeway is Unbeatable.
The lower tower is having lots of Peach trees. As we visited in August the trees were full of delicious 😋😋 peach 🍑🍑 fruits. We took the liberty of picking up some. The local authority welcomed us. It was one of the most pleasant experience.
Thanks to them.

Its the most unique experience. Ropeway costs 1000 and 500 for chair car incase you have reservations.
Its a 25 min ride and the most enticing experience. You can see all snow tops. Beautiful scenery.

Tickets for ropeway gets booked easily and it closes by 4. So keep your timelines scheduled.

We went there but couldn't experience it. It's very important to get online booking done if you are choosing a crowded day like new year. Also, the offline booking portal opens at 9 am. So if you haven't got online ticket, try buying it offline early morning.

The longest ropeway in India.A full 25 minutes of hanging over some of the most picture-postcard perfect locales ever.
We took it a total of four times during our five days stay there. The staff is helpful the gondola has a standing-only place and in case you want to go to the Auli ski resort you get down at a pillar before the end and take a rickety lift six floors down and then take the ski lift to the resort. The experience of sitting with your legs dangling and nothing but a bar between you and everything else around you ( in the ski lift) is like being in another world altogether.
Even if you are not booked into one of the resorts in joshi math, please take this trip up to auli . It's worth every minute and every rupee sent on it

Awesome experience you can just feel like you got trip to heaven. The view of the gargantuan Himalayas around just feel fabulous. The trip us quite long though. And the cable car is so big and and can carry lots of people in one go
Ramit De — Google review
The true beauty of this place can be enjoyed only during peak winter that's when the entire area is covered in snow and winter sports like 🎿 is very popular. If the sky is clear and visibility is good then you would be able to see some of the peaks. Coming back to the ropeway it's a joy ride for sure but on the expensive side. The counter accepts payment in cash only (as usual in most part of UK and UP). Be aware that though there is a departure and return schedule the cable car won't take off until they have 20-25 people. The ground staff will ask you to enjoy pakoda and wait for your turn. The ride it self is good and takes ~ 21 mins one-way. After reaching the peak you can roam around and enjoy the view , take a pony ride or simply sit back and enjoy pakoda again :-).

This ropeway has two places to board. One is from Joshimath which is closed cabin and you have to go standing and maximum people allowed in cabin ropeway taxi is 25 people. This ropeway taxi goes at the maximum altitude of 10200 feet from where you can view Nandadevi, Trishul, Hathi ghoda Palki and many more peaks.
Another ropeway to board is from Auli, which is open sitting seats and four people can sit on it.

The Gurudwara Sri Hemkund Sahib is an isolated Sikh pilgrimage spot encompassed by towering Himalayan peaks, situated next to the serene Hemkunt Lake. Although the journey may be arduous, this destination offers tranquility and serenity. The Langar facility provides nourishment after the ascent, while spending time around the hallowed pond rejuvenates pilgrims before their descent.
A hard trek but a peaceful place. Langar helps after the climb and the rest around the sacred pond replenish strength to descend.
The pony n the porters crowd the place n slow down the trek but most of the pilgrims would need help of the service.
Arun — Google review
World’s highest Gurudwara located at 14200 feet. Hem or Hima means Ice or snow and Kund means pool.
It is devoted to Guru Gobind Singh Ji, 10th and last guru of Sikhs, who is said to have meditated here in his previous birth as per the Dasam Granth. His takht is located on ground floor below Darbar Hall.
Behind the gurudwara is the holy Lokpal Lake, crystal clear and freezing cold. It is surrounded by the snow-clad Hathi Parvat and Saptashringa or Saptarishi peaks (seven peaks) ,each adorned by a Nishan Sahib on its cliff. A small stream Himganga flows out of this lake and joins the Pushpawati stream that flows out of the Valley of Flowers at Ghangharia village and eventually as Lakshmana Ganga.
Water of the lake is deemed sacrosanct and said to have medicinal and healing properties. It is highly recommended to take a dip in this holy matter no matter how cold it might be !
There is a langar hall where you can have tea and delicious dal-khichdi all the time. Donot forget to take halwa after ardaas at around 1:30 pm outside darbar hall.
There is a shoe keeping area also where you can keep your shoes and other belongings ( don’t keep valuable things)
Night stay is not allowed. The beautiful Brahma Kamal is found in abundance here.
This is also said to be the place where Lord Lakshmana meditated and King pandu practiced yoga.
It all starts from Ghangharia, base camp for
Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib. This trek is 6 kms long with a steep inclination at various places but you have to return to ghangharia by 5-6 PM as there are wild animals so leave by 1:30-2 PM. I took around 6 hours from ghangharia.
The entire trail is well defined and picturesque. The rain-drenched emerald green lofty mountains, stupendous waterfalls, small streams, dazzling blue poppies, soft white clouds and shining glaciers will literally make you forget all the difficulties and hardship of trekking.
There are plenty of roadside dhabas that sell a bit pricy food. Paratha and maggi is must try. If we have given up so much to go up there, we should support locals too.
Good news is that a new helipad is also being constructed just 1 KM before hemkund sahib so it will be very convenient to go from next year.
Things to Carry -
1. Daypack
2. Trekking pole/ wooden stick
3. Poncho/Raincoat/Umbrella
4. Cash ( if you wanna rent mules or porters)
5. Food and water (everything is priced 2-3x)
6. Power-bank
7. Cap/ jacket
8. Medicines
9. Head -Torch
Don’t leave anything behind, pick any garbage and throw it in ghangharia.
It was my first trek and I feel so lucky that I could do it without any help of pony and porters.
Jio works best at the site, airtel doesn’t work good at all.
Date of Visit - 19/07/2022

Gurudwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib is located at an altitude of 15000 ft above sea level. It is the highest gurudwara in the world and one of the highest places of worship in the world. You have to trek for 2 days from Govind Ghat to reach Gurudwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib. The trek is arduous and you need a lot of perseverance to keep going. But all the pain is worth, as on reaching the Gurudwara you feel the bliss and calm.
On reach the Gurudwara one should attempt to take the holy dip immediately, as it becomes a bit difficult after you have rested.
It is really amazing that even at this altitude langar is being served to the devotees.
Gurudwara Hemkunt Sahib is associated with the tenth Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji. It is located at a very picturesque location on the bank of a small lake.
It is important to note that there is lot of temperature differences between Ghangaria (Govind Dham), from where you start the second day of trek, and one should remain prepared. The total trek is around 16-17 kms from Govind Ghat. The second part is very arduous and steep is around 6.5 kms. Depending on the physical capabilities of a person the total trek time can be between 7- 15 hrs.
At the start of the trek, you can also take shared sumo from Govind Ghat to Pulna, you will be charged Rs 50 per person and a distance of around 4 kms would be covered. Pony services are also available upto Hemkunt Sahib and helicopter service is available upto Govind Dham.
Gurudwaras at Govind Ghat and Govind Dham provide paid accommodation and free langar. Besides, hotel accommodation are also available.
Nobody is allowed to stay overnight at Hemkunt Sahib. The religious congregation starts at 7:30 am and are wound up by 2 pm every day. The Ardaas is done at 9:30 am and 12:30 am everyday.

It's not a simple trek. Hike needs reasonable physical fitness and mental strength so be prepared.. We hiked in month of May and there was snow at Hemkund Sahib and way leading to it making the track quite slippery. The peace and view at top makes it quite magical. The Langar served gives you desired strength after the climb. You do have the option of pony and porter but when you see young children and sr citizen pilgrims around you doing the journey on foot that motivates you to for that extra mile. Its a 6km hike from Ghangharia. The valley of flower is around 3km from starting point. The descend can be equally challenging so take proper rest. Have good pair of trekking shoes, gloves, stick etc along as basic gear. Weather can change frequently at that altitude. Carry some munching dry fruits etc with you and a water bottle that you can fill along the way. Please don't spill the plastic waste on top and try to get it to base if possible. It was great experience and the sevadaars along the way help you all along...

One of the most revered Sikh shrines, Hemkunt Sahib (also known as Hemkund Sahib) draws thousands of pilgrims every year. It is recorded in the holy Granth Sahib that the tenth guru of Sikhs, Guru Govind Singh, meditated by the serene banks of Hemkund lake in one of his earlier births.

Hemkund Sahib gurudwara - The worlds highest Gurudwara is a pilgrimage site in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, India. With a setting of a glacial lake surrounded by seven mountain peaks and each peak is adorned by a Nishan Sahib on its cliff, it is located in the Himalaya Mountains at an elevation of 4632 meters (15,200 ft) as per the Survey of India. It is accessible only by foot from Govind ghat (Pulana) on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway. Guru Gobind Singh Ji the Tenth Master in one of his great holy compositions entitled “Bachittar Natak” while giving a hint or pointing out this good site Hemkund Sahib or Hemkunt Sahib.
There is a Gurudwara Sahib located in Gobind Ghat. It is the first place where visitors come to start the trekking of Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib. There is a good parking space for cars and bikes. Pilgrims first come here and have some rest, afterwards they start their journey to Hemkund Sahib and walk about 15 kilometres on mountains. From here you will get sharing jeep to pulana 4kms ₹50. Then is 15 kms trekking to reach Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara.
I reached govind ghat on 4th Oct 2022 at 2 pm. Kept my luggage at locker room free of cost. Took sharing jeep from Govind ghat to Pulana ₹50 for 4 kms. 2:30 pm I Started trekking of 10 kms from Pulana to Ghangharia. Reach 7 pm at Ghangharia and night stay free of cost at Ghangharia Gurudwara. On the way you will get many food and water shops.
Next day morning I started trekking from Ghangharia to Hemkund Sahib gurudwara. 5 am to 10 am. It tooks 5 hours for 5 kms. Spent 2 hours in and near Hemkund Sahib gurudwara. Return back at 12 pm from Hemkund Sahib gurudwara and reach 6 pm at Govind ghat. 15 kms of trekking for coming back.
Necessary Material to carry along with you
Rain-coat, First-aid Kit, Wind-Sheeter, Water-Bottle, Sweater, Torch and Cell, Gloves, Neckerchief/Muffler, Cloth-Boots, Scissor, Chappal etc.
Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib opens for Darshans from May 25th in routine: Nagar Kirtan from Govind Ghat to Govind Dham will be one or two days before starting yatra and from Govind Dham to Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib. Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib closes for Darshans from October 10th in routine.

Pristine lake and great temple food at the top of Hemkund Sahib is a huge motivation for the steep and strenuous hike from Ghangaria. Great view along the hike with continuous showers. Rain readiness is the single most important thing. Many small stores and food places on the way. One-way 7 km distance takes 6 hours to hike up and 5 hours to hike down. Stone pavements all along the path. Overall a great experience.
Sakthivel G — Google review
This is a blissful place in Devbhoomi. The world's highest Gurudwara is a pilgrimage of a lifetime. Around 6 km trek from Ghangria can be done using ponies or porters if one is unable to walk. The trek is moderate with loads of shops in the way for refreshment and stop overs.
What makes it difficult is rather the humongous crowd especially if you are there with Snow like in June this year. The last 2 km was in snow from the walking meandering route however there is an alternative option of steep relatively snow free stairs counting to approximately 900. This option comes around 2 km before the Gurudwara Sahib. Glaciers crossing on the way are slippery and photography must be avoided. Be wary of the ponies carrying hoards of worshippers with luggage which are bound to make it difficult as one meets them from the opposite direction while trekking. The walkway is stone cobbled largely uneven but doable.
Reaching at the holy Lokpal Lake up at 4300 mts above sea level creates problems for approx 1 in 4 blessing seekers due to low oxygen at such heights. This is common with kids and elders leading to headaches and nausea. This gets worsened due to the extra crowd which we observed at Sahib Ji around 10 AM on a mid June weekday as we reached there at 9 AM. Due to heavy snow at the top the entire Sahib Ji periphery was choked with people. In fact there was little scope to talk, wait and even have conversations with family at the top on that day. There were heavy queues for Langar, Gurudwara entry and even Slippers drop which may become challenging if traveling with kids.
The backside of the Gurudwara is where Laxman Ganga originates from the glacier. One can view the crystal clear waters with mesmerizing peaks all around. It's a must to visit the old , historic , revered yet amazing Laxman temple on the banks of Lokpal Lake. In the end what matters more is the astoundingly beautiful journey trek, location, ambience at the top and the family company with which we did it all together.

Bheem Pul is a sacred bridge located at the end of Mana village in Uttarakhand, India. According to Hindu mythology, Bheem created this bridge during his svargarohan yatra by placing a huge rock in the gap. The site is also known as the origin of River Saraswati and features a river that flows fiercely before disappearing due to Ganesh's curse and reappearing again at Prayagraj.
Bheem Pul is one of the many interesting historic site of Uttarakhand and has a story attached to it as well. According to the story, Pandavas, who are well known as Pandava brothers in the Mahabharata followed this very path when they had walked their final journey from Badrinath temple to Swarga.
But, Draupadi, wife of Pandavas was finding it difficult to cross the Saraswati river. So, at this point, Bheema, who was supposed to be very strong and possess the strength of several elephants, take a big stone and placed at this point.

Visiting Bheem Pul in Mana Village was like stepping into the pages of history, where myth and reality intertwine to create a fascinating tale. This ancient stone bridge is not just a remarkable engineering marvel but also a symbol of the rich cultural heritage that India proudly boasts. The location of Bheem Pul, nestled amidst the majestic Himalayan backdrop, adds to its allure. The roaring Alaknanda River flowing beneath the bridge only heightens the sense of adventure and awe as you walk across the sturdy stone structure. Learning about the legend associated with the bridge, where it is said to have been built by the mighty Pandava prince, Bheema, only deepens the sense of wonder. The bridge's immense size and impressive construction are a testament to the ingenuity of the people of that era. The bridge itself is well-preserved and offers a safe passage to travelers exploring the Mana Village and its surrounding wonders. From here, you can witness the beauty of nature at its finest, with snow-capped peaks, lush greenery, and pristine landscapes. The local community's hospitality and friendliness make the visit even more delightful. Their enthusiasm in sharing the folklore and historical significance of Bheem Pul adds a personal touch to the experience. Whether you are a history enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply someone seeking a unique cultural encounter, Bheem Pul and Mana Village are a must-visit destination. The bridge's timeless charm and the village's serene ambiance will leave an everlasting impression on your heart. I highly recommend exploring Bheem Pul and the enchanting Mana Village for an unforgettable journey back in time and a chance to witness the captivating beauty of the Himalayas.

Mana village is as beautiful as your imagination.
Maharishi Ved Vyasa told the epic Mahabharatha in this village, and Lord Ganesha wrote the complete narrative.
The way to heaven goes from here, and it is the place from which the Pandavas took the route to their eternal journey.
When they were taking their final journey to heaven, ‘Swargarohan’ Pandava Bheem brought a huge rock and placed it above the Saraswati river stream in such a way that it served as a bridge and was known as Bheem Pul.
One can spend an entire day here admiring the natural escapes.

When the Pandavas were on their way to heaven, their wife Draupadi could not cross the Saraswati River, Bhim brought a huge stone and placed it over the Saraswati river stream which acted as a bridge. That rock is now known as Bhim Pul.
It is located near Mana village, just 4 kms from the holy shrine of Badrinath. You can easily reach Bheem Pul by walking 1km.

Pure Natural Oldest Bridge Architecture :
The bridge holds significant cultural and religious importance for Hindus, one of the oldest bridges in India, dating back to ancient times and is considered to be the route taken by the Pandavas to cross sarasvati river during their pilgrimage to the Himalayas.
Visitors can experience a sense of divine presence and pure bliss.
The only place where you can witness the disappeared 'Saraswati River'.
Whether it's the rich mythological history, the breathtaking natural beauty, or the spiritual ambiance, Bhim Pul Mana offers a truly unique and soul-stirring experience for all who visit

Sarswati river is said to be disappeared nowadays but in the first Village of mana you can see the origin of Saraswati river. White water running between the cliff, the sound of it gives you emmense pleasure just by watching and listening it.
It is said to be a story that when sage ved vyas quoting the Mahabharata and lord yis writting, sarswati river is flowing with a lot of sound. Ved Vyas asked sarswati to make less noise as it is disturbing him but she did not listen. So ved vyas told her to be disappeared from the world and she did.
The river is so beautiful although small but the water seems different more religious and more spiritual.
It is said and sarswati river water give you more intelligence.
You can see the sarswati river by standing in bheem pul.
Visiting here is a must while visiting Badrinath dham.

The place is not fully developed from earlier. Now you will find many shops just after mana parking. The place is quite crowded as there is very small area at main point. Overall place it worth to visit it. You will find Sarasvati temple and river. Temple is also converted to big temple which is attraction point. I would recommend everyone to visit at least once if you are coming yo Badrinath. You need to walk for approx 1km from parking.

Hardly 1 kilometer, you can see Saraswatiji. The view of River Saraswathi from Bheem Pul is unforgettable.... (On the background, the view of Vasudhara and Swargarohini Parvat). Saraswatiji flows through the famous northest village of India , Mana. Nowadays the renovation of Bhim Pul is going on. There is a view point has made just after the Bhim Pul. The best place to meditate. The best season is September to November. Taxies are available from Badrinath. The morning and evening visit of Saraswathiji is totally different experience!!

The Sarasvati River is a deified river first mentioned in the Rig Veda.
Already since the 19th century, attempts have been made to identify the mythical Sarasvati of the Vedas with physical rivers. Many think that the Vedic Sarasvati river once flowed east of the Indus (Sindhu) river.
Scientists, geologists as well as scholars have identified the Sarasvati with many present-day or now-defunct rivers.
Two theories are popular in the attempts to identify the Sarasvati. Several scholars have identified the river with the present-day Ghaggar-Hakra River or dried up part of it, which is located in Northwestern India and Pakistan.
Saraswati River, a tributary of Alaknanda River, originates near Badrinath. Saraswati River in Bengal, formerly a distributary of the Hooghly River, has dried up since the 17th century.
Considered sacred by millions of Indians, Saraswati is one among the trio of India's holy rivers, along with Ganga and Yamuna. As per the documents submitted by the Haryana government in the recent case, around 6000 years ago the Saraswati river disappeared due to tectonic disturbances, impacting its tributaries.

This destination is truly a gem, showcasing the natural beauty of the area. The entire pilgrimage experience to this temple is truly memorable.
The trek to the temple is 21 kilometers one side long and can take anywhere from 9 to 10 hours to complete. It's like a test of your grit and stamina, but let me tell you, when you finally reach that temple, it's like a victory lap .I would rate it slightly lower than perfect because, on occasion, locals can be a bit impolite. Nevertheless, the overall experience is absolutely worth it.
Here are some additional tips for making the most of your pilgrimage to Kedarnath:
Start your trek early in the morning. This will give you plenty of time to complete the trek and reach the temple before dark.
Take breaks along the way. The trek is challenging, so it is important to take breaks to rest and hydrate.
Be prepared for altitude sickness. The altitude in Kedarnath is high, so it is important to acclimatize before starting the trek.
Be prepared for the weather. The weather in Kedarnath can be unpredictable, so it is important to pack for all types of weather conditions.Be sure to bring warm clothes, even during the summer months.

Book heli tickets well in advance, however if you are lucky than you can get heli tickets overnight too for the next day (we got it paying og amount, not black)
If you have time and strength, prefer trekking.
Visited the Garbh Graha in dawn at 4:00 am purchasing a ticket worth 5000/- for 5 people.
Carry portable oxygen cylinders and waterproof clothes and body warmers if possible.
The morning sunlight on the mountain behind the temple is a mesmerizing moment.

However, the second day might bring a magical surprise - snowfall. Witnessing the temple covered in a blanket of pristine snow is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The crisp air, the soft crunch of snow underfoot, and the serene atmosphere create a winter wonderland that enchants all who visit.
So, my journey to Kedarnath Temple from Nepal was not only a spiritual adventure but also a thrilling encounter with nature's unpredictability and the incredible diversity of the Himalayas.

Har Har Mahadev 🕉️
Kedarnath, the Abode of Mahadev is heaven on earth.
We were lucky to visit the divine place and stayed in the close proximity to the temple.
It was below 0⁰C and freezing. Snowfall in the month of May.
Can't express the feel, visit it once in person to experience the moment.

The famous trek and pilgrimage site, Gangotri Glacier, offers stunning views of high mountains and a river with a rich history. The terrain is rugged and challenging, requiring utmost caution during the trek. Visitors are reminded to dispose of their garbage responsibly by keeping it with them until they can properly discard it in dustbins.

The Holy River Ganges is the most sacred river in the Hindu religion and its source at Gomukh on the Gangotri glacier and many other peaks. Gomukh is one of the holiest places for Hindu pilgrims who come here to witness the birth of Mother Ganga. The trek takes you to Gomukh (cows mouth), the mythological source of the River Ganges, which is at the snout of the Gangotri glacier.

Gangotri Glacier is located in Uttarkashi District, Uttarakhand, India in a region bordering Tibet. Sanskrit and Pahadi are the most languages being spoken here This glacier, one of the primary sources of the Ganges, is one of the largest in the Himalayas with an estimated volume of over 27 cubic kilometers. The glacier is about 30 kilometres long and 2 to 4 km wide. Around the glacier are the peaks of the Gangotri Group, including several peaks notable for extremely challenging climbing routes, such as Shivling, Thalay Sagar, Meru, and Bhagirathi III. It flows roughly northwest, originating in a cirque below Chaukhamba, the highest peak of the group.
The terminus of the Gangotri Glacier is said to resemble a cow's mouth, and the place is called Gomukh or Gaumukh (gou, cow + mukh, face). Gomukh, which is about 19 km (11.8 mi) from the town of Gangotri, is the precise source of the Bhagirathi river, an important tributary of the Ganges. Gomukh is situated near the base of Shivling; in between lies the Tapovan meadow.
The Gangotri glacier is a traditional Hindu pilgrimage site. Devout Hindus consider bathing in the icy waters near Gangotri town to be a holy ritual, and many made the trek to Gomukh, with a few continuing on to Tapovan. One needs to trek from Gangotri till Gaumukh, passing Devgadh, Chirbhasa, Bhojwasa en route. Currently accommodation is available only at Bhojwasa, although forest check posts are present at both Chirbhasa and Bhowasa. The 2013 North Indian Floods destroyed much of this trail, and access is now a little difficult beyond Chirbhasa due to trail deterioration and a 2 km wide rockfall site.
Recently, due to global warming the glacier is melting in an alarming rate, alerting us to do something to stop this.If we keep going this way, one day we will end up with a big catastrophe.

Superb experience, awesome place to visit for friends and family.
A point on the glacier where it gets converted into river is called the snout or mouth of the Glacier. One such famous snout of Gangotri glacier is called Goumukh or the source of Bhagirathi river - a tributary of Ganga.
If one loves adventure and landscape photography then the Gangotri trekking is the best. There is a trek of 19 km from Gangotri to Gaumukh. It takes take around two days and two nights.

This pilgrimage destination situated in Uttarkashi is mostly famous for the four religious centers, or as they say, the Char Dham spots.
Mythological stories will have you believe that following King Bhagirathi's penance spread over centuries, Goddess Ganga transformed herself into a river to wash away the sins his forefathers.
Lord Shiva then gathers Ganga into his matted locks to minimize the immense impact of her fall, and ever since the Himalayan glacier from which Ganga emerges has also been called Bhagirathi. Ganga derives its name after the river passes Devprayag and merges into the river Alaknanda
