Pillar Rocks Viewpoint is a popular cliffside destination offering sweeping views of the mountains and unique pillar-shaped rocks. The hike to the top of these boulders is a challenging but rewarding four-hour trek. The mini garden at this place makes it a good picnic spot.
Mesmerizing view point. Just ignore everything and enjoy seeing the clouds touch the mountain like feathers. It's simply awesome. And we can even take small walk there. One of the vendor will sell a kind of whistle that make the sound as if a bird that will make the place more scenic. Its a bliss to see the view there.

It is a tranquil location that is well-known for the natural beauty that it possesses. The atmosphere at the place is completely soothing to the soul, which allows us to surrender to nature. Additionally, Rocks Viewpoint offers a breathtaking view of the neighbouring community. These three enormous rock formations are situated approximately 120 meters (400 feet) above the ground. Their vantage points offer breathtaking views of the natural beauty of Kodaikanal as they rise above the plains. During rainy season, better to avoid this place due to slippery

The place is less crowded with small entry fee, cleanliness was good and the views were breathtaking.
Hint: take your photos quick as the clouds might block the rocks quicker than you think and you have to wait for the next opportunity.

Locals said, it was quite Unbearably Hot in the past few days,
Apparently, it was way too Foggy (Lucky me 😇).
It was indeed difficult to capture the Massive Granite Rock pillars, managed to get a glimpse of it.
P.S- Worth to Try & Buy ‐ The Homemade Chocolates here are way to cheaper and awesome 👌 taste, when compared to the one within the City.

It's a great place for taking some pics and spend some time with friends and family. When we went there the rocks were totally covered by the mist and hard to wait for almost 20 mins to see them. So don't get disappointed if you are unable to view the marvelous nature due to mist, just wait for it to reveal itself.
Always too crowdy though so just be careful with kids. Got adequate parking and the entry ticket is just Rs. 5 per adult.
Abilash Sankar — Google review
Like several other places it gives a scenic view particularly of some straight Rocky hillside. The view is pleasant but not something that could be described as breathtaking. The tourism department has made up for it by making a beautiful and well maintained viewpoint.

It's a trail of spots approximately 1km apart when you enter the valley. It's 20 rs for entering the road and you can visit 4 spots and park there. It is 10/- for the entry. It is well maintained. It was too foggy so we couldn't actually see the pillars rock. Visit early so that the fog doesn't block your view. It was crowded. There is an affordable shop on the opposite side where we had mushroom chilli, it was the best in that climate. It was also heavily raining.

Offering unhindered views of the surrounding area, the Pillar rocks are actually three vertically positioned boulders. From this viewpoint, the entire area that one’s eyes can see is covered with dense and tall trees with dark green foliage. There is also a garden with plants blooming in a riot of colours. This is a great spot to picnic amidst the rocks, gardens, mist, and clouds

It's a nice place where 2 part of a mountain looks like 2 pillars. This looks very unique and its a must visit place. I have never seen any thing like this before.
You get a very good view from here. Once fog comes and start covering the pillar rocks, it looks mesmerizing.
Stay there for 10- 15 min and experience different view of the same place. Fog will keep coming and going.

Lot of food stalls are also there.

The weather changes very frequently here. If is too misty or cloudy then it’s difficult to witness the pillar rock mountain and the views. If it’s a clear and sunny day then the view is beautiful. It has an entry fees charge of Rps 10/- and rps 20/- for camera. And no Drone are allowed to fly here because of forest department rules

Tremendous view point. Entry fee Rs 10 per head. Covered by clouds now. It will be visible after you leave the place. To satisfy yourselves, elephants statue was installed by Govt. So you can take snaps before the same and wait for clouds to move on.

A must watch viewpoint in Kodaikanal. It's a twin pillar among the mountains. If the fog blocks your view, don't worry, the fog will dissipate in a few minutes time. There have no huge crowd. So we can enjoy that place.

Towering pillars that pierce the sky, mystical crevices whispering secrets, and breathtaking panoramas that steal your breath - yes, I'm talking about the Pillar Rocks of Kodaikanal. Having just returned from a trip there, I couldn't resist sharing my experience with you all.
The moment you arrive, you're awestruck by these three colossal granite giants, standing shoulder-to-shoulder, reaching a dizzying 400 feet. They exude an ancient, almost sacred aura, like a forgotten temple guarding the valley below. Exploring the narrow pathways between them feels like journeying through a natural cathedral, sunlight filtering through cracks, casting dramatic shadows. The crowning jewel of the experience is the panoramic view. From the vantage point atop the rocks, the entire valley unfolds like a painted canvas. Rolling hills covered in emerald pines, shimmering lakes reflecting the sky, and quaint villages nestled amongst the mist - it's a visual symphony that leaves you speechless.
The chamber formed between two of the rocks, aptly named "Devil's Kitchen," adds a touch of mystery. Locals whisper tales of hidden caves and mythical creatures, fueling your imagination while you explore its dark, cool depths. The climb up the rocks, though not strenuous, is enough to invigorate your senses. The crisp mountain air fills your lungs, washing away city dust and worries. The chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves become your soundtrack, a welcome contrast to the urban cacophony. Overall, the Pillar Rocks are a must-visit for anyone seeking a piece of Kodaikanal's magic. It's a testament to nature's artistry, a playground for adventurers, and a sanctuary for souls seeking peace.

The 1 km long Coaker's Walk is a scenic walkway located in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu which offers lovely views of the valley and mountains. It is famous for the Neelakurinji flowers, a rare species of flowers that grow only in the Nilgiris once every 12 years.

The Bryant Park is a large, well-maintained park located around the east end of Kodaikanal Lake. The park features a variety of flowering plants and trees, as well as a picnic area. It is a popular spot for relaxing and getting lost in the lush green surroundings.
The park is next to the Boat House 2 and has some interesting set of flower set which are very well maintained. There are few nice walking paths on the backside with a big playground types for the kids.
Good place to relax.

The area is quite picturesque, with amazing collections of plants and flowers. Over a sizable area, there are many lawns. It is quite nicely kept. There are several places to take pictures. Small streams may be seen all the way along with a lake in the middle. On the other hand, the lake's shores are a little bit unclean. However, the location's attractiveness is least compromised. Great choice to spend a few hrs with loved ones or friends. The vista is enhanced by the tall trees and the mist that runs through them. In case of rain, there are also resting sheds.
The biggest problem, which is a major one throughout the city, is parking. Adults must pay ₹30 to enter, which is entirely reasonable.

One of the best places to visit in Kodaikanal. The park is spread over acres and has huge variety of flowers and trees. It is very well maintained and there are many spots for a good pic. A great spot to just sit and relax and have fun, play games. A great picnic spot too. The entry fee is just Rs 30/- which in my honest opinion is a bit less, given the park as a whole. There are lots of spots outside the park for buying food items and souvenirs.

This place offers a delightful boating experience for families, providing various types of boats suitable for couples, families, and individuals. Adjacent to the lake, numerous shops offer a variety of items ranging from groceries to garments and toys. While food options are limited to small vendors, they provide healthy choices. Additionally, visitors can enjoy balloon shooting, other games, and cycling, making it an enjoyable experience for both family and friends. Moreover, a beautiful fountain adds to the charm of the location.

A nice place in the heart of Kodai next to the lake. Nice to spend time with family and friends and quite cool in the evenings.
We were here in the mid of March and it looked a little dry with most of the plants being recently planted and the rose gardens trimmed etc so we could not see the best of this garden.
Quite a big place and a nice place for nature lovers and also for those who plan to buy plants.
Over all a nice place but may be the best time to visit is after the rains.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful kodaikanal pine forest, and it was truly an enchanting experience.
The towering pine trees reached for the sky, their branches creating a natural canopy that filtered the sunlight, casting a dappled pattern on the forest floor. The play of light and shadow added to the forest's mystique.
Overall, the beautiful pine forest was a perfect escape into nature's embrace. Its serenity, fragrant air, and the feeling of being surrounded by ancient giants left me rejuvenated and inspired. If you're seeking a peaceful retreat in nature, I highly recommend a visit to this enchanting pine forest.

Wonderful place to hangout with your loved ones. Definitely your kids will enjoy this nature beauty, especially the horse ride in between the pine trees. There will be difficult in parking your vehicle but somehow you manage that you can enjoy your day. Lot of monkeys there so don't take out your eateries out and the monkeys will attack you for food.

It's a trail of spots approximately 1km apart when you enter the valley. It's 20 rs for entering the road and you can visit 4 spots and park there. The fog made the place mysterious and beautiful. There are horse rides, photo frames etc... available. There are a lot of shops at the entrance. It's very crowded, even parking is hard if you are traveling in a car.

The star shaped artificial lake created in the 19th century is one of the top tourist attractions of Kodaikanal. It offers a boathouse with rowboats and pedal boats, as well as horses and bicycles for tourists. The environment around the lake is serene and visitors can enjoy a peaceful ride on pedal boats or rowboats while gazing at the surroundings.
Wonderful place for boating, cycling, walking. The main thing here is the climate it's amazing that makes us not to go away from the place. After getting tickets we can go for boating. The place is amazing and we can able to see small ducks in the water and almost each and every corner there will be some eye pleasing view. The lake is bordered by the road and it makes a good view.

Just splendid. The lake is simply stunning. They have boating facility also. You can also find bicycles to rent to go around the lake. Trust me one of the best thing to do is to rent a bicycle and go around the lake. You will get scenic views of the lake all around. Also you will find beautiful homes around the lake. But beware of the cars and bikes that also use this road. Else you can merrily wander around the lake road. It will span around 2 kms iirc. Allot around 1hour for this. You will also find shacks selling chocolates and sweaters. The chocolates are damn good for the price paid. Few shops also ship the chocolates to your place if you order through phone.

It is a good place to go with friends and family. There is a nice climate and ambiance around the lake.
You should prefer morning or late evening to visit kodaikanal Lake and should try to walk around the lake rather than cycling. Because while walking you could talk and enjoy the moments with your loved ones. There are so many activities attached to the lake, like boating and balloon shooting. Moreover you could try various street foods while walking.

I started my trip to Kodaikanal with this lake and summited with the lake only. The lake is so huge and has a local market and food stalls on the street surrounding the lake.
You can spend hours here admiring the beauty around you. The view from every corner is different and mesmerizing.
The sunset here is especially mesmerizing, you can enjoy the sunset either sitting on benches near the lake or you can do boating in the lake.

The moment I set eyes on its shimmering expanse, I knew it was going to be a highlight of my trip. My adventure began with a gentle paddle boat ride. The water was mirror-smooth, reflecting the cotton candy clouds above. Every stroke was rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills, painted in shades of emerald and sapphire. As I glided across the lake, the crisp mountain air invigorated my senses.
After my aquatic escapade, I explored the lakeside promenade. Lively stalls adorned with colorful trinkets tempted me with locally-made chocolates and handcrafted souvenirs.
For some quiet contemplation, I wandered along the walking path that skirts the lake. Towering eucalyptus trees formed a verdant canopy overhead, filtering the sunlight into dappled patterns. This peaceful haven was the perfect place to soak in the serenity of nature.
Kodaikanal Lake is the beating heart of this hill town. I'll never travel to Palakkad without this trip planner again
Berijam Lake is a 59-acre body of water surrounded by verdant forests, and features a quaint guesthouse as well as a Hindu temple. Visitors need to obtain a forest department pass in order to drive to the lake, with checks conducted near Moir point. Given the road conditions, it's recommended to take the Forest dept bus instead, which provides stunning views of the lush green forest area en route.
One of the best place visit in kodaikanal. I have visited last weekend with my friend. Don't miss the place.
From moir point to Berijam lake 13km approximately 40min travel time. Two wheeler not allowed.
Only car and van allowed. We need to get the pass from kodaikanal forest department police station. Near to kodaikanal busstand. Tuesday car and van not allowed. Because that day leave. Only forest van only allowed.
Car-200 van-250 for pass
If you don't have car or van. No issue. From moir point forest department arranging van, per head 200. We can see silent valley View, Caps fly view, berijam lake view, mathikettan solai view, berijam lake. Totally five places we can see. It's absolutely a reserved forest. We can feel the nature and breath the good air.
Beacause mathikettan solai is one of the deep forest. And take food and water while travelling. Don't take plastic items.
If you are travelling with family means don't stop the car and while. Because it's deep forest. Any time wild animals will come.

The lake is preserved by the Kodaikanal Forest Department. Lush greenery around the lake is a treat to the eyes. I loved the raw and rustic nature of the wildlife which is protected by the forest department. Before you plan a visit to Berijam lake, make sure you read and follow below information:

2. You won’t be allowed to enter the forest area leading to Berijam Lake without permission from forest Department.

3.c Take any Govt. issued ID proof -DL/Aadhaar Card etc. Digital proof is also accepted. On the gate, it asks DL, RC, PUC, vehicle insurance but not mandatory.
3.d 50 vehicles allowed per day. DFO can issue more permits at their disposal.

Visiting this place was an absolutely wonderful experience. The view was nothing short of mesmerizing, with lush green hills stretching as far as the eye could see. Particularly during the rainy season, the sight of clouds intermingling with gentle rays of sunlight created a captivating panorama that one simply cannot afford to miss.
To reach the top, we had the option of availing the national park vehicle, which required a fee of 200 per person. This vehicle conveniently dropped us off at the designated point, from where we embarked on a scenic walk towards the summit. The walking path was well-maintained, ensuring a pleasant journey. Additionally, for those seeking a more convenient option, an e-vehicle service was available. However, it's worth noting that opting for the e-vehicle would incur additional charges.
In conclusion, the experience of visiting this place was truly memorable. The breathtaking view of the hills and surrounding greenery, particularly during the rainy season, was awe-inspiring. While the journey to the top involved either a picturesque walk or an optional e-vehicle ride at an extra cost, the overall experience was well worth it. I highly recommend making a visit to this remarkable destination.

View is great from the top of the hill. It's better to purchase the tickets online to avoid the wait time. From the entrance buses park buses will be dropping to one point. From their if we trek for 1.5 km we will be able to get a good view of the park.
Anamudi is the highest peak in southern India and boasts stunning hiking trails that offer encounters with various wildlife, including elephants. The trek through the jungle, forest, tea fields, and grasslands takes roughly five days and presents breathtaking views of the surrounding environment. However, it's essential to hire a local guide who can navigate safely around gated campsites due to potentially harmful creatures like tigers and elephants.

About 4 days spend trekking through the jungle, forest, tea fields and grasslands, full of land leeches, the journey as well as the views were much worth it. It was gorgeous the whole way with the views of the environment constantly changing until we made it to the summit of the hike. Would for sure hire a local guide as they know how to get to and from the campsites that ate gated because of the tigers, elephants, and other creatures that may be destructive to us humans.

Anaimudi Peak in Munnar deserves nothing short of a five-star rating for its awe-inspiring beauty and the incredible experience it offers. This majestic summit left me speechless and created memories that will last a lifetime.
Anaimudi Peak is the highest peak in South India, and reaching its summit is an adventure like no other. The journey to the peak takes you through lush green forests, winding trails, and picturesque landscapes that showcase the true essence of Munnar's natural splendor. Every step along the way is filled with anticipation and excitement.
The trek to Anaimudi Peak is challenging but immensely rewarding. The path is well-marked, and the verdant surroundings make the climb truly enchanting. As you ascend, the panoramic vistas unfold, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys, mist-clad mountains, and cascading waterfalls. The sense of accomplishment upon reaching the summit is indescribable.
The view from Anaimudi Peak is nothing short of a spectacle. Standing at the pinnacle, surrounded by clouds and beholding the vastness of the landscape below, I felt a profound connection with nature. The sheer grandeur and tranquility of the place are awe-inspiring, making it a perfect spot for photographers, nature enthusiasts, and those seeking a spiritual connection with the mountains.
The biodiversity found on Anaimudi Peak is remarkable. The peak is part of the Eravikulam National Park, home to various flora and fauna, including the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. The sight of these magnificent creatures roaming freely in their natural habitat is a privilege to witness.
Safety measures are well-implemented, with experienced guides accompanying trekkers. They provide valuable insights into the local ecology and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. It's advisable to carry essentials like water, snacks, and appropriate trekking gear to fully enjoy the journey.
Visiting Anaimudi Peak is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the raw beauty of nature and experience the true majesty of Munnar. It is a must-visit for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. I cannot recommend it enough, and I give it a resounding five-star rating. Prepare to be awestruck and humbled by the magnificence of Anaimudi Peak—it's an experience you will cherish forever.

Anamudi, the 2,695-m high mountain which stands tall in the Eravikulam National Park is the pride of Kerala. It is the highest point in India outside the Himalayan Mountain Ranges. Anamudi, together with the Eravikulam Park, is home to one of the largest surviving populations of Asian elephants, Gaurs and the Nilgiri Tahrs. The mountain, covered with evergreen forests and inhabited by endemic flora and fauna and a vibrant avian life, is a paradise in the wild. The green forest is also the source of some large and scenic rivers in Kerala and the nearby State of Tamil Nadu.

The route leading up to Anamudi, which is actually the NH connecting Munnar to Madurai, is in itself mind blowing to say the very least. And traveling through this road multiple times, I have found it to be rather serene and relaxing with next to no traffic. Anamudi, the highest peak in Western Ghats offers an enthralling view alongside tea gardens and for any traveler, nature strikes you here with all its beauty.

Anamudi, the highest peak (2,695 m) of Western Ghats and South India lies south of the Himalayas and towers over the sanctuary. The slope of the hills is home to the Atlas moth, Nilgiri Langur, the lion-tailed macaque, leopards, and tigers.

Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary offers an exciting adventure trek, showcasing a vast range of fauna and flora. The narrow road that leads to the destination is suitable for day-time travel where tourists can enjoy the stunning view of Anamalai forest and spot exotic birds and animals. However, night drives are not recommended due to poor visibility caused by sudden fog, making it extremely risky to travel alone with family.
This was the first time we traveled this route. Luckily the weather is very favorable. Deer, peacocks and monkeys could be seen. The road was narrow but it's in very good condition so the journey was comfortable. The journey through the forest is always mind-blowing . You have to take relevant documents and pass for hustle free travelling. And please cross the border before 6 pm

Chinnar wildlife sanctuary is nice place and home for many endangered species. On way to munnar, this place has may watch towers and view wildlife. One has to be careful while driving through this place. Make sure to carry required water and food. Summer is very difficult in this place. Forest department must create some water ponds inside the forest.
The Chinnar and Pambar rivers are the major perennial water resources in the sanctuary. The Chinnar originates near Kumarikal Malai, follows the interstate boundary along the northwest edge of the sanctuary for 18 km and becomes the Amaravati River in Tamil Nadu.
The Pambar River originates in the Anaimudi Hills and is joined by seasonal rivulets and a few perennial streams originating from sholas in the upper reaches. It traverses the Turner’s Valley in Eravikulam National Park and flows down into the sanctuary through the Taliar Valley between Kanthalloor and Marayoor villages and eastwards through the sanctuary. It joins the Chinnar River at Koottar. The Thoovanam water falls lie deep within the sanctuary on the Pambar River. This cascade is a major tourist attraction. The Chinnar, Pambar, Kabani and Bhavani are the only rivers of the 44 in Kerala that flow eastwards
Excellent by all means. And this is an unexplored tourist destination. The local people contribute their interest for the development of tourism. The Forest Department has appointed them as Guides, Cooks, Drivers, helpers etc through Eco Development Committees of Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary. The tourists can stay in the hut, tree top or log house near the flowing river. Still I feel there is a lack of communication skills. Please note that it will take its own time to overcome this forms of undulating nature.
Awesome ride in forest and forest gaurds are very friendly road is one way have safe ride then reach by check post before 6pm , for cars all documents are they will check in check post please carry
the experience was very good and the trek was very adventurous we had booked for 3 hours trek which costed us Rs 300 pp and we had got to spot peacocks, spotted deers, Indian Gaur, and bison. it was one of the memorable trek with moderate level of difficulty
We travelled from Palani to Munnar via Chinnar for a weekend. The roads are good and calm and the drive was easy. There are not many places where you could stop by but Karimuttam waterfalls is a relief. We did not check out Iravikulam National Park due to our time schedule though.
Worth walking to this place. Beautiful river with picturesque locations and the guides are well trained to lead a group to some natural happiness. Even though the place looks adventurous, we may not encounter much wild animals but the signals might frighten us which is thrilling. Youth especially would love to walk those trails with much enthusiasm. All the best

Very nice . There is four checkpost. You can see wild animals like elephant , bear, basion. Dear etc. Drive carefully. Avoid night drives with family because night time usually there s not much traffic so it’s risky to travel alone with family

You can travel through the middle of forest with a lot of wild animals. But unfortunately I couldn't able to see any other animals except monkey 🐵. I think we have to select evening time to travel through this place to see the animals.
But I it was an amazing experience to travel through the deep forest. The road is good even though the width is shorter

My trip through Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary was absolutely fantastic. Witnessing a herd of elephants in their natural habitat was a rare and remarkable sight. The trekking adventure provided an immersive experience that added to the overall charm of the visit. I highly recommend this sanctuary as a must-visit for anyone looking to create lasting memories while journeying through the jungle.

Went there in December for trekking. There were 2 treks available - waterfall trek and cultural trek. Took the cultural trek (it's actually better than waterfall) but still there not much 'culture' to see. Mostly the trek is through the deep jungle and 2 archeological sites are on the way that are not much impressive. Also the trek is somewhat mediocre level and might please those who have never experienced a trek before (like us :)) But still enjoyed the 3 viewpoints where we took some photos and rest during our 2hr trek. On the way you might encounter some wildlife if luck favours, usually it would be monkeys and elephants. You are allowed to take water and food with you but be careful not to litter.
Over the place is there to give you an experience but I may not recommend to put it on your 'must do' list.

It was a daring ride through the dense forest. The road towards the Destination is very narrow and so the speed limit. It is advised to take this route during day time so that u can enjoy the view of Anamalai forest , and if your lucky you can watch birds, animals etc in this route.
DONT TAKE THIS ROUTE during night as it's very risky to drive. And there are chances of sudden fog hindering the visibility to the road.

The ride through narrow road along this forest is exciting. One can site wild animals, esp., elephants on the way. The long queue to enter vehicle details in the check post is worst experience. Seasoned commuters sent one person to enter details and overtake the queue.

Anaimalai Tiger Reserve is a nature reserve that houses an array of wildlife, including elephants and tigers. Visitors can enjoy animal encounters such as elephant rides and have the opportunity to spot these creatures both during the day and at night. The park offers off-road excursions and trekking spots with guidance from forest department officials who collect fees at various points. Additionally, Anaimalai is known for its coconut production, accounting for 75% of all coconuts in Pollachi.
Nice place to chill over the weekends. We can see elephants live feeding at the camp, other wild animals like bison, deer, bird varieties, monkeys(not the one's that we usually see), wild squirrels, wild elephants etc.
Try to be here early as possible, maybe around 6.30 so that you can see wild animals inside the reserve.

The Anamalai Tiger Reserve, more famously known as the Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park, located in the south of India is a unique reserve which has long since protected the endemic species of both plants and animals that reside here.
The reserve was officially declared a Tiger Reserve in the year 2007. It lies in the Western Ghats which is a well-known hotspot for biodiversity. This also means that the species found in the tiger reserve are truly endangered and often rare and in need of protection. A visit to Tamil Nadu will never be complete without visiting the Anamalai Tiger Reserve that has been the constant state's companion since its establishment in the year of 1848. The reserve’s unique location also makes it a gathering spot for many nature lovers and photographers that wish to witness the marvels of the reserve while also taking in the marvels of the landscape surrounding it. Another aspect that makes the reserve truly unique is the fact that it is also an anthropological reserve and hosts around six different tribal groups, one of which is endemic to the area. When visiting the reserve individuals are sure to witness at least a few things that would hold their interest and have them delving deeper into the reserve.

The drive from Anamalai to Parambikulam is filled with greenary and is quite peaceful and relaxing
By the mid-1800s, large tracts of Valparai plateau in the Anamalais were under intense tea or coffee plantations after deforestation of the natural forests. By 1866 two-thirds of the plantations were owned by Europeans and the remaining by Indians from coastal towns. Since most native inhabitants either refused to work or were inefficient workers, labour for plantations was brought from the plains of Tamil Nadu to clear forests and grow coffee.
Some parts of the forest however were reserved for timber including large areas around Top Slip. This part of the Western Ghats, under the Madras Presidency were exploited extensively for teak which was supplied to the Bombay Dockyard for shipbuilding and later for railroad ties.
In 1855, this area came under sustainable forest management for teak plantations by the pioneering efforts Douglas Hamilton and H. F. Cleghorn of the new Tamil Nadu Forest Department. In the early 1900s, protection of the Karian shola was also ensured.
The area was notified as Anaimalai Wildlife Sanctuary in 1974. of its unique habitats at 3 places – Karian Shola, Grass hills, Manjampatti Valley were notified as a National Park in 1989. The 108 square kilometres (42 sq mi) National Park is the core area of the 958 square kilometres (370 sq mi) Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary.IGWS was declared a Project Tiger tiger reserve in 2008.
The Park and the Sanctuary is under consideration by UNESCO as part of The Western Ghats World Heritage Site. The Sanctuary and the Palni Hills in Dindigul District form the Aanaimalai Conservation Area.[9]

ATR as known went with much expectations but nothing that justified it, was lucky to see spotted deer, a few elephants nothing else, Topslip or the Govt should take steps to make the safari a memorable one and not a damn boring thing, 236 Rs was charged per head but didn't feel worth it. All the time that one invests seems to be worthless at the end, before visiting make sure to choose the best time or else the visit will be totally worthless. Jungle Safari shouldn't be done for the sake of safari 😶.

The Aliyar View Point offers a breathtaking view of the Aliyar Lake and Dam. Visitors can catch a glimpse of the Nilgiri Tahr, which is Tamilnadu's National animal. However, parking at this location can be challenging as it is situated on the 9th hairpin bend. Monkeys are also known to frequent the area, so visitors should be cautious with their belongings.
I must say, it was a wonderful experience. The combination of both Aliyar dam and Monkey Falls made for a perfect day trip for my family and I. We were especially impressed by the availability of snacks stalls and parking facilities, which made our visit even more convenient and enjoyable.

The Aliyar Dam is a picturesque waterway surrounded by mountains, gardens, and parks. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful Valparai hills view from the top of the dam while children can play in the park. The area is also popular for movie shootings and offers several hotels and tea shops nearby. Though entry fees are high, ample parking space is available. Weekend getaways are possible with bakeries located close to the dam.
A vast water body in the foothills of Valparai. Situated between mountains, this place looks extravagant and large. There is a long road on the banks of this place, you can have a long walk if you are fit enough. When you visit this place, you can remember seeing the place in many tamil movies.
They have a small park and play srea for kids. The surrounding area is full of trees and lots of eateries serving fish dishes.
From the base area to the top, there are steep steps which would feel little hard for older people. But the view on top is great and worth the climb. If lighting is good, this place can be a good place for photography. Also, the surrounding mountains creates a good scenery.
When you climb up towards Valparai, you can have a gold glimpse of the full dam area. From hairpin bend 7 to 15. Be cautious if you are driving though.
One thing to note is that the staff in ticket counter would try to con you. They will chsrge 20rs for 1 mobile phone but will not give the ticket. Please ensure that you ask and get it.

This is one of the spots where we can visit during the journey to valparai. I recommend to visit either in the evening or morning due to the hot clomate there would be difficult for kids and elders.
A small climbing is needed to reach at the top of the dam and once reached the view would be amazing, boating facility is also available there.
Keep the necessary water and food with you as there is no snacks shops are available inside the dam premises.
Entrance is fee is 5rs per head and 20 rs for mobile photography.

The best view of nature. The walk on the dam is really good experience. Nice place to spend time with family and friends, though in summer it can be tiring. Good place to engage the kids as it has park and play area. Avoid going in the afternoon time around 12-1 as it will be sunny.

Good view of Valparai hills from the dam. Can experience a scenic view from top. Park is available for children with average maintenance. Other than small river flows across the park. One of the most important movie shooting spots in Pollachi area. Hotels and tea shops are available outside the park. Parking is sufficient. Entry and parking charges are bit high. Can go for relaxed evening and morning.

Loved it. The arrangements were all so perfect that would give you a 3 star hotel's feel.
The forest department has been doing a great work.
Only thing that they need to change/arrange is, about the vehicle for safari. Not all the tourist come with an SUV or a off-road drivable vehicle.
So either they need to inform the tourist in advance or they should arrange some vehicle that can be taken off road inside forest.

Amazing experience!
I honestly didn't expect the hospitality, the food or the wilderness experience to be of that level. I was pleasantly surprised at how well curated it all is.
Right from the get go, a guide is assigned to you. This guide will be along with you during the safari, next day's early morning Trek and the bamboo rafting experience.
The guides only speak Tamil or Malayalam but are very knowledgeable and courteous.
The stay- it is well maintained, comfortable and the rooms are huge.
Food- There isn't a restaurant and it isn't A la carte but depending on your preference, they serve really tasty food in a buffet setting.
I am already planning my next trip!🙂

Awesome experience. Pristine forest areas and a very novel adventure. The guides and the hospitality people are from the local tribal areas making it one wholesome experience with lots of wild life and birds.

It was a very good experience to stay in Honey comb.
We were a group of 14 adults and 7 rooms provided. Kids and infants were also there.
Rooms are equipped with AC and Water heaters.
Cleanliness was enough in the aspects of a forest stay, but not to an extent of resort.
Powercuts are usual and they have power backup. But it will run only for 6hours. Please check whether they have enough diesel for whole night while you enter for stay. They cannot arrange at night as no petrol pumps nearby. Otherwise You may have to face powercut in the night. Please carry torch lights as a must.
Only BSNL has coverage in this area and it will not work during powercuts. Wifi is there park entry after that wifi is also not available.
So you will be your own , an experience most of us are missing nowadays.
Mostquitos and other insects were very less, nevertheless carry any repellents.
Place is safe to stay in terms of wildlife movement.
Food was good and safe, staffs also very helpful and they provided all the necessary help for infants like hot water. But again don't expect a resort kind of experience. They have all the shortcomings of a government run facility.
Safari was okeyish type as animal sighting is less compared to Bandipur.
Morning trekking was an excellent experience and we could sight elephants very close and the atmosphere was just awesome.
Boat safari is also really nice, but try to start the safari as early as possible.
Highly recommended if you have kids of growing and learning age. But carry all necessary things like medicines. Small tribal hospital is nearby but for small issues like fever and so on. Or they will shift you to Pollachi in an ambulance.
One more suggestion Tented Niche stay is also good, as they travel back from Parambikulam to anapady in late evening after safari. You have more chances of animal sighting.

Well maintained stay by forest department. The package includes everything like food, guide, trekking, safari. The rooms are clean. AC and hot water are available. The staffs are mostly local people, and their behavior is so nice. Buffet food is also of good standard.
I heard some random people complaining that the room is not a standard one or don't have a rich look. But please keep in mind that this is in the middle of the forest, and there are no other accomodations available. So, obviously there will be a lot of expense to maintain these limited number of rooms. So, please don't compare this with resort stays.

The Athirappilly Waterfalls, also known as the Niagara Falls of India, is a well-known and picturesque waterfall located in Kerala. It stands at an impressive height of 80 feet and is situated at the edge of Sholayar forest ranges. The falls offer visitors two paths leading to the top and bottom, making it a popular picnic spot. During monsoon season, the Athirappilly Falls become even more magnificent.
Very good falls.
The beautiful scenic falls is in Kerala near Thrissur dt.
The only catch here is: everyone has to walk downhill for 15-20 mins to see the beautiful athirappily waterfalls.
The highest falls in the region and the most scenic falls.
Please do not throw plastics and keep the surroundings plastic free and friendly nature.

You have to come down a bit to reach the foot from where the view is breathtaking. Aged folks and people with lower back or leg issues may find it difficult hence need to be aware before taking the hike.

When I visited this remarkable place on a weekend, I was astounded by the sheer beauty of the waterfalls. However, it was quite crowded, which is to be expected given its popularity. To ensure a hassle-free experience, I discovered that there is a convenient clock room available where we can securely store our belongings for a nominal fee of Rs. 5.
Moreover, I highly recommend wearing shoes or sandals with excellent grip when exploring this enchanting location. This precaution will not only enhance your safety but also allow you to fully immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring surroundings.

Recently kerala government started an initiative to trek through the other side of the falls, that is also good experience... It will take you 2 days.

Mesmerising beauty of this place is more beautiful 🤩 then you saw in movies 🎥.
Reaching there is itself a fun.
From the gate it self you have to walk through a trail and will not get the proper glimpse until you reach on top or bottom.
You will only able to hear water fall sound.
On the top you can enjoy the water and play in it.
You can stay in water and enjoy it like a water park always bring back my inner kid out.
On the bottom you can get the full view of fall.
Recommendations -
1. Full day,
2. comfortable clothing
3. Extra pair of clothes
4. Stay hydrated
5. Go down first enjoy the view later come up relax and dip in a water.

Well maintained and guards were there to protect us from entering into dangerous sites. Try to be there during evening time, otherwise the blistering sun will make you tired. Majestic- if you visit during the right season and right time. There are various spots, most are pictures ( but a bit dangerous).
If you visit during peak monsoon you shall see a completely different side (some spots remains close due to large volume of waters).
Ideal time to visit would be August- September.

Excellent water fall. During August month it looks like a mini Niagara. Trekking is very challenging towards the water fall. It’s paved, yet not for the feeble. Rs 200 for entry.

One of my dream place in India. It’s mesmerising. From the entry with vehicle fee you have to pay and park the car beside the road as there is no particular parking. And take the entry ticket again for falls entry. From there it’s just 10-15 walkable distance for top view. Carry water bottle along with you and return the empty bottle in entry as they will give you 10 rupee refund. Enjoy the top view for a while and start trek to the down. If you are aged or handicap or having breathing issue do not take risk and stay in the upside as we need to walk inside the forest around 30 mins in mud. As it’s a orange alert when we enter, they don’t allow us to go near to the water fall. If you visit after February, you can play in the water due to water flow will be less. If you want to see the water flow then best time to visit is from June to December.
You will be lost for a while in nature for sure.

Vazhachal Waterfalls is a breathtaking natural wonder located in Kerala, India, and I had the pleasure of visiting it recently. This cascading beauty nestled within the lush Sholayar forest is a sight to behold.
The first thing that struck me was the pristine surroundings. The dense greenery and the sounds of the forest create an immersive experience that transports you to a different world. The waterfalls themselves are impressive, with a powerful flow that creates a mesmerizing spectacle. The sight and sound of the water crashing down into the pool below is truly captivating.
Visiting during the monsoon season was a great decision, as the waterfalls were at their fullest, showcasing nature's raw power. The mist rising from the waterfall added to the mystique of the place. Be prepared to get wet, as the spray from the falls reaches quite a distance.
The area around Vazhachal Waterfalls is well-maintained, with designated viewing areas and walking paths. It's an excellent spot for nature enthusiasts, photographers, and families. The local guides are knowledgeable and can provide insights into the flora and fauna of the region.
One highlight of my visit was the opportunity to see several species of colorful butterflies and various birds in the vicinity, making it a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts as well.
While there are a few small shops and stalls selling refreshments and souvenirs, it's advisable to carry your own snacks and water as options can be limited.
In conclusion, Vazhachal Waterfalls is a natural gem that offers a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Its pristine beauty, combined with the surrounding forest, creates a serene and rejuvenating atmosphere. It's a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Kerala, and I highly recommend experiencing this marvel of nature firsthand.

The waterfalls are gorgeous. You cannot get into the water or even get a proper full sized photo with the waterfalls, but it's quite a beauty to simply watch and relax. You can spend 15 mins or 1 hour here, depending on what kind of traveller you are. It's better to go here in the first half of the day, especially during monsoon.
The place is quite well created by the forest department, but I wonder if the canteen and children's play area are used by the public. Toilets are clean and well maintained. The medicinal herb garden was not open, but I assume that's because of monsoon. I hope the forest rest house is available to the public for stays, because that's an amazing location.
The entry ticket at Athirappilly is valid at Vazhachal as well. If you haven't gone to Athirappilly, then the ticket price is Rs.50 per adult, with still and video camera charges extra.

A 5 mins walk from the entrance wilk bring you to this falls. You have a large area to cover to see the falls from all directions. The maintenance is good. Located near the check post. Little crunched parking space.

Visited on January end. Looks like it's almost end of the season. Monsoon will be the best time. Entry fee will be 50 per person. But one ticket will be enough for both Athirappalli entrance and this. They don't accept UPI payment. Either liquid money or card payment only. If you are visiting Athirappalli waterfalls then this will be must visit, as it is situated so close. Otherwise nothing much.

This another near spot of athirapilly waterfalls.your no need to pay extra money for this ,both waterfalls including in one ticket. Here not big waterfalls but there good mood also wating for you.natural sounds water birds etc..These diminutive cascades weave seamlessly into their surroundings, creating miniature landscapes of moss-covered rocks and fern-lined pools. Their subtle elegance invites close observation, revealing intricate details often overlooked in larger waterfalls. The small scale also allows for a more personal connection, as visitors can often get closer to the cascading water and feel its refreshing mist. Exploring small waterfalls offers a delightful balance between nature's beauty and the charm of hidden gems, making them a perfect escape for those seeking solace in the midst of quieter natural wonders.waterfalls possess a charming intimacy that sets them apart. Though lacking the grand scale of their larger counterparts, these cascades often exhibit delicate beauty and tranquility. The gentle murmur of water creates a soothing atmosphere, making small waterfalls ideal spots for quiet contemplation or a peaceful retreat. Their accessibility, tucked away in serene corners of nature, adds to their allure, offering a delightful escape without the need for extensive hikes. Small waterfalls may lack the sheer power of giants, but they compensate with an enchanting simplicity that resonates with the essence of natural serenity.bathing not allowed here plase not it

Arulmigu Masani Amman Temple is an elaborate and full-service Hindu temple located in Anamalai, approximately 11km from Pollachi town bus stand. The temple is known for its worship of several deities, including the stone of justice. Visitors can expect a powerful and rejuvenating experience while visiting this famous temple. It is recommended to visit on working days and to refrain from purchasing garlands or sarees as they will not be accepted by Amman.
Nice and calm place. Visit this temple on working days. Don't buy garlands, sarees to Amman. They won't accept anything from us. Just go and pray. Ample car park. Don't forget to drink tender coconut, very chill.

First of all don't trust Auto guys...They are costing 🔴 100₹ for 1km travel over surrounding area. Recommended to walk nearby bus stop and take local buses. No phone no material other than money is allowed inside. Full checkup will be done before entering. There is a common way that will lead you inside the temple in all four gates will take around 2 hrs to see all over the temple.
Note : If you know some big shots you can walk through the temple without any stops.
All the police inside the and outside the temple are working hard and friendly. Salute to all of them 👏👏.
I seen a tour guide for the temple at the ways of exit. I don't know why he is sitting at the exit point.🤭🤭
All the eatables selling inside will cost ₹20 each. Taste so 😊😊😊😊

We reached there around 9. Temple wasn't crowded. There are stands for removing slippers outside the gate but no attendants so, it's better to leave them on car or with any of the shopkeeper outside. There is parking inside, amidst what seemed like a coconut farm. They charge 50/-.
We bought tickets for golden Lotus Pooja which is for 100/- rs. That helped quicker darshan. In this one can write and submit their desires to the deity.
They also have chilli grinding (which we bought from shops outside). This is done to ward off any evil shadow/ curse, which we didn't know until the priest told us. There was some confusion inside. The ticket counter and the priests were not aligned on some things it seemed. The priest for chillo was a little rude.
They also serve sweet Pongal and tamarind rice inside which is for 20/- each and it was delicious. Must try

A temple to visit atleast once in a lifetime.
One unique aspect of this temple is the practice of writing wishes on paper or a piece of cloth and offering it to the deity. This act symbolizes a deep faith in the goddess's ability to fulfill desires and bring positive changes in the lives of devotees. The process involves pouring one's heart out onto the paper, expressing hopes, dreams, and aspirations before placing it at the temple as an offering.
This ritual of writing wishes and presenting them to the divine symbolizes the act of surrendering one's desires and seeking divine intervention to manifest them. It's a way for devotees to connect with the divine and believe in the power of faith.

One of the famous temple situated near Pollachi. The temple is powerful and divine.
Beware of street vendors they force you to buy products, also there is official temple parking near the temple which costs around 50 rupees dont go to vendors' parking where they force you to buy products which are also high in price .
The temple had clean restrooms and separate washrooms for bath and dressing.
The temple was well-maintained and had a positive energy.
The temple had 3 lines one is free, the second line costs 25 rupees, and the third line costs 100 rupees.

Arulmigu Masani Amman Temple, also referred as Anaimalai Masani Amman Temple, is a highly revered shrine situated at Anaimalai, which is located about 24 km far south-westerly to Pollachi. It is situated at the confluence of Aliyar River and the Uppar stream, nestled amid grasslands against the backdrop of mighty Anaimalai Hills. The temple enshrines the goddess Arulmigu Masani Amman as the presiding deity. The deity is seen in a lying posture measuring 15 feet from head to foot, which is unique. Other deities worshiped in the complex include neethi kal (stone of justice) and Mahamuniappan. It is a popular belief here that Masani Amman cures any illness if one goes around her trident

Ilanjipara Waterfalls is a hidden gem, unknown to many visitors. Its untouched beauty remains unaltered and unmanipulated. To witness this pristine charm, one must embark on a trek of over 3 km through dense forests, adding an element of adventure to the visit. Those seeking thrills are invited to explore Ilanjipara Waterfalls. Accessible by bus from Trissur with a stop at Marottichal, the trek begins from there.
One of the best waterfalls I visited recently. Really cool atmosphere. There's two waterfalls there. One at the top and the other at the bottom. Peaceful and beautiful place. A best place to chill out with your friends and family. One it's a best time to visit.

Its good to visit the place in monsoon.. small waterfall... cool place to see... good amount of water in monsoon.
Though the Ilanjippara waterfall is hardly 20 Kms from Thrissur the trip to see the waterfall was really adventurous. The waterfall is in the forest area and we had to walk from Marottichal after parking the vehicle. After 10 minutes of walk through the narrow path we reached Olakkayam, a waterfall where we found few people swimming. We have to cover this water fall to reach the Ilanjippara waterfall. The walk through the forest took about one hour to reach the Ilanjippara waterfall and must say that the walk is worth it. The waterfall is really an awesome sight, thick water cascading from the top in steps and the area was unpolluted, the water seemed to be fresh and it is a wonder that this waterfall is not very popular. Swimming at Ilanjippara may be dangerous because of the slippery rocks but we can walk through the forest path to the top side of the water fall which was really thrilling. It is better to start back before the night falls since it may be difficult to reach the road without proper light.

Ilanjipara waterfalls is quite an unknown place to the visitors. As it is unknown to the outside world, it is having its beauty as it is..Never modified and never manipulated...To see this virgin beauty, we have treck almost more than 3 km through the dense forest and it makes the visit adventures. So all those who are interested in some sort of adventure, welcome to Ilanjipara waterfalls. We can reach this place by catching bus from trissur and have to get down at Marottichal.. From there the trecking starts.. We have to carry enough water and food as there is no possible way in the forest to get all those things.., but beware of the plastic hazards..so avoid throwing them inside the forest to keep it healthy..

Hidden inside reserve forest... Almost 3km trek through forest... Absolutely worth it.... The saddest part is that the entry is strictly prohibited by forest department from 2018 as two youth had lost their way back and was remained in forest for two days... Now there is electric fence..... So dont try to go there until there is a withdrawal of no entry... Contact peechi wildlife warden for further info..... Still you can visit the waterfall at bottom where the trek begins....
The Eachanari Vinayagar Temple, located in Coimbatore, is a historic temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The temple's tower is intricately carved and draws visitors from all over the world due to its splendid architecture and peaceful ambiance. According to legend, the temple's 6-feet tall Vinayaga idol was being transported to another location when it got stuck at its current location after the cart's axle broke.
Located on national highway NH209. Vinayagar statue in almost 6 feet, we can worship the god from a distance without hassle.

Eachanari Vinayagar temple was unique of its own because of its location as well as the ample space around. Before the puliyakulam vinayagar this was in place I remember the age old traditional structures around, when there were no flyovers it will be too crowded.
Now recently the flyover actually helps us to peacefully park our vehicle and get into the temple.
Ticket for vehicle Pooja - Rs.20
Outside shops:
Coconut plate - Rs.100
Garland for car & 5 lemons - Rs.380 (Very over priced )
The temple was sparking clean and we had a peaceful Dharshan as well did the Pooja for our new vehicle without any hassles. May be just it was the next day to pongal it was not that crowded.
A calm and soulful experience! ❤️🌾💐

Om Maha Ganadhipathaye Namaha !
Peaceful temple. Whenever we buy a vehicle its a mandatory feel comes to heart that we should visit God Ganapathy here and get his blessing. Blissful temple.
One thing about the pooja items shop in front of the temple is , they are cheaters selling one lotus and handful of arugampul for Rs.80, also 5 lemons and a small coconut for Rs.70, so you can get things from your home or other shops while coming to temple itself. These shops keepers have that attitude, if you want then buy else go because we don't lose anything because of you. So better don't buy anything.

The Palakkad Fort, which has been preserved since 1766 CE, contains a garden and pathways for walking. Additionally, there is a temple dedicated to Hanuman and a playground on the premises. Although its early history remains largely unknown, the fort holds great historical significance. Many Malayalam films have been filmed here making it quite popular as well.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Palakkad Fort in the evening, and it proved to be a delightful experience. This historic fort not only offers a glimpse into the past but also provides a serene and airy atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely walk and a breath of fresh air.
As I entered the fort, I was immediately struck by its architectural beauty and rich historical significance. The well-preserved fort walls, bastions, and gateways exuded a sense of grandeur and stood as a testament to the region's cultural heritage. It was fascinating to explore the various sections of the fort, each with its own story to tell.

I liked the way that this fort is being maintained. I liked it a lot. The waterway around the first have lots of tortoises and fishes in it which was very nice to watch. This fort made me remind the medieval time period. The one and only thing which make families get irritated here is the public nuisance made by lover over here, which should me kept on control my the archaeological department and police department.

It's a great place to visit. There is a moat with different fishes and tortoises. There is also a Hanuman temple. We have to do a lot of walking and climbing. There are good view points. It's maintained well. It can be more friendly towards the seniors, like providing more ramps.

Palakkad Fort, also known as Tipu's Fort, is a historic fortress located in the town of Palakkad in Kerala, India. The fort has historical significance and is a popular tourist attraction in the region.
The fort was constructed by Hyder Ali, the ruler of Mysore, in the 18th century and later expanded by his son, Tipu Sultan. It is a well-preserved structure that reflects the architectural style of that era. The fort is characterized by its massive stone walls, bastions, and a large moat surrounding it, which was once filled with water.
Here are some key aspects of Palakkad Fort:
1. Historical Significance: The fort played a crucial role in the history of Kerala as it served as a strategic military base for Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan. It witnessed many battles and was an essential part of their defense in the region.
2. Architectural Charm: The fort's architecture is a blend of Mysorean and European styles. It features large stone walls, intricately designed doors, and a well-planned layout that includes a mosque and granaries.
3. Museums: Inside the fort, there are two museums, the Palakkad Fort Museum and the District Historical Museum. These museums house a collection of artifacts, weaponry, and historical items that provide insights into the region's history.
4. Scenic Surroundings: The fort is surrounded by lush greenery and gardens, making it a pleasant place for a leisurely stroll and exploration.
5. Accessibility: Palakkad Fort is easily accessible from the town center and is a popular destination for both history enthusiasts and tourists.
While the fort is historically significant and provides a glimpse into Kerala's past, it's not as grand or imposing as some other forts in India. Nonetheless, it's worth a visit if you are in Palakkad and interested in history and architecture. The fort's tranquil surroundings and the opportunity to learn about the region's history make it a worthwhile stop for travelers.

A scenic place. Beauty of fort is inviting. Though it could be maintained more. The hugge entry doors 🚪 are fascinating. Though seeing students in corners making out does put you in spot especially when with your kids. There's enough space to keep on moving & exploring 😄... Good views from fort tops... One can feel relaxed. Parking is ample and it's charged. Beside the fort there's a garden. We had to leave unfortunately to reach another place so couldn't explore it. There's a namesake museum inside the fort. Nothing much to explore though.
Overall it's a good visit.

I recently visited the historical fort in Palakkad, and it's another great spot for family and friends to explore. The presence of a temple inside the fort adds to its cultural significance. One of the positive aspects is the ample car parking area and the availability of toilet facilities, making the visit more convenient. The fort also caters to families with children by providing a nearby park. However, one significant downside is the early closing time of 5 pm, even on holidays. This early closure negatively impacts tourism, as many visitors may prefer to explore the fort later in the evening. It would be beneficial if they extended the visiting hours on holidays, perhaps until 7 pm, to better accommodate tourists and enhance the overall experience.

A marvelous spot in the center of the town. Entry ticket cost rs 25 for adults. Suggested for a 30 minutes to one hour time span. Fort is almost well maintained, but some area in the backside is filled with creepers and shrubs. Also a temple is situated inside this fort building. Rock pillars and other structures in the fort makes it attractive. Now it is maintained by archeological survey of India. It is just 5 kilometres away from palakkad junction railway station, which costs a rs 13 in local bus ( in 2023). Buses are continuously available from entrance of the railway station itself.

Nice place to spend silent and joyful moments.Suitable for all age group people. Mostly for couples or lovers. Good place to get some feel of 300+ year old memories of our people. Inside there is a temple dedicated for hanuman.there is an information centre for this archeological site. Place to visit. Entry ticket is 25 per adult. Kids below 15 years are considered to be free. There is a park adjacent to the fort. Quiet good to spend time there.

Its an old fort now under the control of Archaeological survey of India . Those who like to know the history of monuments and enjoy its features it's a good choice. And it's a place where you can spent some time with your friends and family. The ticket rate is just Rs 25 per person. You can just roam around and sit in the shades of the trees with friends and family.
Parking available . Overall it's a nice place.

It is an ASI protected monument, hence maintained well. Other than the sign board outside, there is an information gallery once you enter the fort, which is not up to mark. But most of the people do not get to know there is an information gallery due to lack of sign boards. It is a place where people can go sit for some time in the park inside the fort and under the trees outside the fort. Ticket price is Rs.25. There is a Hanuman temple at the entrance of the fort.

Palakkad Fort is a beautiful fort located in Palakkad town. Built by Hyderali, the ruler of Mysore, this fort is very beautiful. The main attractions are the water-filled moats outside the fort, ramparts, watch towers and the temple inside the fort. You can visit the fort from 6 to 8 in the morning for free. Best time to visit is morning and evening.

The Malampuzha Dam, constructed in 1955, is the largest reservoir in Kerala and a popular tourist destination in Palakkad. The road leading to the dam is well-maintained and easy to follow using a map. There is ample parking space available at minimal charges. Entrance queues are generally short, although it's important to note that accessing the ropeway requires a separate entry point outside of the dam premises.
Best place to visit for a half day trip. it is very easy to spend time with family. Located near by palakkad. Kids can enjoy the snake park and aquarium. Adults can enjoy the boating and rope car service. Ambient open parking space is available here. But no free drinking water. Dam and Gardens offer an enjoyable experience for individuals and families seeking entertainment and natural beauty. The dam, gardens, and serene surroundings create a perfect setting for relaxation and recreation. However, the management should prioritize the safety of the kids' play area by conducting regular inspections and addressing any maintenance issues promptly. Additionally, investing more effort into garden maintenance and customer service would significantly elevate the overall quality of the attraction. With these improvements, Malambuzha Dam and Gardens could become an even more exceptional destination for tourists and locals alike.

Just a spot to spend the evening. Lot of parking space available at 15rs. Ticket costs 30 for adults and 10 for kids. Has a large kids play area. Rope way wasn’t running when I went now. I have been to it as a kid and being open its scary and interesting.
There is a suspension bridge and boating to enjoy. Boating closes at 6PM and costs about 450 for motor boat.
Like the park, the toilet isn’t maintained either. They take 5rs which hope they will ise to clean the toilet at least once in a while.

The dam offers an idyllic setting for families and nature enthusiasts. Its expansive views and serene atmosphere make it a perfect destination for walking and relaxing. The large garden nearby is a haven for children and elderly alike, providing a safe and peaceful environment for leisure. Evening visits are particularly magical. It's also a popular picnic spot, especially for school students, offering ample space and a refreshing escape from city life. Recommended for a family-friendly outing. 🚶♂️🌳 👨👩👧👦

One of the must visit places in Palakkad. Road is very good, just follow the map to reach here. There is ample parking space and the charges are minimal. The queue at entrance will be small.
This is not the entry to ropeway and it can be accessed from outside only. Once you exit from the dam premise you will have to ticket again to enter. I tried ropeway before entering dam.
There is ample space in the garden. Snacks can be bought inside the premise. Restrooms are available at the entrance. This is a crowded area. Its defined worth visiting. It will be very hot during summer and carrying an umbrella will be good.

Huge property, amazing views and good place to hangout with family or friends.
Most of the things were not operational (Sound and Light show, Boating etc). It Could be because I visited on a weekday.
I would recommend spending some time on the top of the dam soaking in the wind and the aura of this place.

Great place to spend a vacation evening. Entry for adults @Rs.30/-. A walk on the dam top offers beautiful views. The expansive gardens are good, but lacking in maintenance and cleanliness. The ropeway through the gardens is a good experience. One can also walk over the narrow hanging bridges. A well stocked Milma parlour is also there for tea and snacks and ice creams.

Excellent place to visit. Highly recommended for families. To completely explore the gardens, at least four hours required. Have to walk for all these stretches. Recommended to carry an umbrella irrespective of season. Lack of trees makes the garden more humid. You can walk through the top of dam.
Garden is poorly maintained. Making infrastructure is easy. But maintaining the same is very difficult.
1 or 2 refreshment shops available.

The Malampuzha Dam is getting better than I last visited. The garden with lots of flowers and the view is awesome. There are many photo booths and place to take rest. The Hanging bridge is also nice. Had tried the rope way but not felt the best experience. Visit during the afternoon.

Such a beautiful park and a wonderful place to visit in Kerala. It’s filled with garden and few of the statues they build it. I would prefer to go either early morning before 11.00AM nor post 4 clock. A good place to spend time with family , friends and couples as well. And for children they have their Separate place to play. Varieties of flowers and a Buddha statue stole my heart in the beginning it self.
From the entry, we need to walk through steps for top of the damn. And hanging bridge is an attraction for entire park. Also you can try ropeway to see entire park and the beauty of the dam. Especially evening time sunset will be so mesmerising from top of the dam.
Rope way per person 71/- they do charge and it’s really worth. There is separate entry for rope way outside the park. Inside the park connection they had closed it.
To see the entire view point I would must prefer to try rope way and enjoy the ride of around 20 mins.
For cool drinks and snacks available inside the park and place will be there to relax for a bit if you get tired of walking.
And try avoid going in summer as you will get tan.

Adiyogi - The Source of Yoga is a religious organization that houses a colossal steel statue of the Hindu deity Shiva, standing at an impressive height of 112 feet. Adiyogi in Coimbatore is best visited on weekdays or non-public holidays to avoid large crowds that can disrupt the experience of embracing Yogi culture. However, for casual visits, the crowd might not be an issue. Plan your trip accordingly, noting the numerous signboards available in case you get lost. There are plenty of parking lots, albeit paid, and facilities such as washrooms, food counters, and souvenir shops. It would be great if visitors could maintain a peaceful atmosphere, especially to not disturb others engaged in yoga or meditation

Great place to visit. It's good for doing meditation. There is a spiritual atmosphere here. The giant statue of Adiyogi is a great attraction. The hotel inside the Isha Centre is clean and the price is economical. Most of the employees are friendly. There was no proper lighting when we walk from the Serpent entrance to the Adiyogi Statue during late evening. I feel it's little risky during that time. It will be good with better lighting in that area. Overall, the experience is great!

An architectural masterpiece of 112 feet Adiyogi. Adiyogi is situated in the middle of all hills. You have to go almost 8 to 10 KM inside from NH44 highway. Ample amount of car parking, electric buggies, and Carts pulled by bulls to transport from the parking place to the statue. The overall experience was great . There are a lot of food stalls and the prices are very nominal. It’s a free entry monument. The yoga center offers a serene retreat for spiritual seekers. The merchandise shopping allows you to buy different things. Better to visit in the evening, you can see the laser light show in the statue, it will start around 7:10pm everyday.

The most peaceful place I’ve ever been to. Saadhguru has such an amazing initiative of save the soil. Please go to the main temple first have a bath in the holy waters and sit and meditate but before doing so you need to deposit your mobile phone and bags(extremely safe and easy). You will be surprised how your meditation goes it felt like 5 minutes for me but I was in deep meditation for hours. It is stunning and peaceful inside. Pray nicely and channel your inner energy here. There are lovely food places inside the main temple which you could indulge in and it’s also cheap. The Adiyogi statue lights up at night from 19:20pm and they have a laser lights show for about 20 minutes or so which is so stunning it is state of the art technology and so insightful. Please support this and donate if you can.

The Adiyogi statue in Coimbatore, India, is a truly awe-inspiring sight that leaves visitors with a sense of wonder and amazement. Standing tall at a height of 112 feet, the statue is an extraordinary representation of Lord Shiva, the first yogi, and serves as a symbol of peace, strength, and liberation.
One of the most remarkable features of the Adiyogi statue is its intricate design and craftsmanship. The level of detail and artistry displayed in the sculpture is truly remarkable, capturing the essence of Lord Shiva's presence and his role as the ultimate source of yogic wisdom. So, the way to this place is very well made & maintained. You can reach by any vehicle. Also, the parking facility is made well & once you park you don't have to walk a lot to reach your destination.
Also, in front of statue a pooja kundh is made. You can take water & do the pooja in the kundh there. Also, the statue is so magnificent in real & is so big.
Do visit this place & share your experience.

It is a lovely place. Went with family friends and colleagues. Well maintained, there are lots of volunteers. There are place to have good food and tea coffee. They sell statues, garment made by them, others items like incense sticks, photo frames. They also have room to stay inside itself which they charge around 2000 to 2500.

It would be great if visitors could maintain a peaceful atmosphere, especially to not disturb others engaged in yoga or meditation.

This statue deserved a 5 star rating. I didn't observe anything negative which I can mention here. The path that leads to the statue is clean and water tanks are installed on the way. You'll come here from the back of Shivji and then at the front you can either sit or stand to attend the show.
The light and sound show is amazing. The sound quality of the speaker is good. The story they tell is amazing. Although instead of english and the local language, it'll be good if the whole show is elaborated in hindi. One can come here to enjoy the light and should show experience.

A very beautiful and calm place. There are a lot of things to visit, so plan to reach the place by 2 PM if you want to cover all the places. Apart from the beautiful statue, there is Isha foundation - a 10 min walk from the statue - which has different temples and places for meditation which is maintained by the foundation.
There is enough space for parking and the people here are very helpful and patient. A bit far from the main city but worth it!

The place is absolutely great to visit but it's a bit crowded and people do not visit this during the afternoon or summer , the sun will roast you up.
You have an option to reach the main place by front and back gate by vehicle where you have to pay 20 ₹ (but the electric vehicle guy charged us double , nominal charge and followed by an additional charge for themselves) .
Also you have an option of bullock cart.

Yesterday’s visit to the Isha Yoga Center was an experience that stands out in my memory. Nestled at the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains, the center exudes a tranquil energy that is both grounding and uplifting.
The highlight of my visit was the Adiyogi Shiva statue. Towering at 112 feet, it is a sight to behold and serves as a powerful reminder of the yogic sciences’ potential for transformation. The sheer scale and artistry of the statue left me in awe, and the peaceful surroundings provided a perfect backdrop for some quiet reflection.
The Dhyanalinga was another profound experience. Sitting in its presence, I could feel a deep sense of peace that is hard to put into words. It’s a space that seems to cut through the noise of daily life and invites you into a moment of stillness.
The center is well-maintained, and it’s evident that a lot of thought has gone into creating an environment that supports self-discovery and spiritual growth. From the Nada Aradhana to the Pancha Bhuta Kriya, every element is designed to facilitate a deeper connection with oneself.
In conclusion, my visit to the Isha Yoga Center was a journey into tranquility and self-awareness. It’s a place I would recommend to anyone looking for a pause from the hustle and bustle of life to reconnect with their inner self

The Maruthamalai Arulmigu Subramanya Swami Temple is a Hindu temple located in the town of Marudhamalai, about 14 kilometres south of Coimbatore. The temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan, also known as Subramanya and is one of the most popular religious destinations in Coimbatore. The temple features elaborate carvings and gilded shrines, as well as dramatic valley views.
This temple has got a very good vibe. It can be climbed through stairs (which r not very hard) and also can be reached to by vehicle. Will hardly take 40 min to reach the top by climbing. But once you reach there you absolutely feel great. There are multiple Gods in the temple. The whole effort of climbing is worth it.

I recently had the privilege of visiting Marudhamalai Arulmigu Subramanya Swami Temple in Coimbatore with my family, and I must say it was an experience of a lifetime. From the moment we arrived on a sunny morning, the temple greeted us with its serene ambiance and breathtaking beauty.
To begin with, reaching the temple was a breeze as there was a convenient bus service available that took us all the way to the top. This thoughtful provision made the journey hassle-free for our group of 12 family members, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the spiritual adventure that awaited us.
Upon reaching the top, we were captivated by the awe-inspiring panoramic view that unfolded before our eyes. The picturesque scenery surrounding the temple, with lush greenery and majestic hills, created a sense of tranquility that instantly put us at ease.
The priests at the temple deserve special mention for their warm and welcoming nature. They guided us through the rituals and provided insightful information about the temple's history and significance. Their genuine devotion and dedication added to the sacred atmosphere of the place, making our visit even more meaningful.
One aspect that stood out during our visit was the temple's impeccable cleanliness. The entire premises were well-maintained, reflecting the devotion and respect for the divine space. It was truly a pleasure to explore the temple's various sections, all of which exuded a sense of serenity and purity.
As we embarked on this spiritual journey, we were filled with a profound sense of peace and positivity. The Temple provided us with an opportunity to connect with the divine in a meaningful way, leaving a lasting impression on our hearts and minds.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting the Marudhamalai Arulmigu Subramanya Swami Temple to anyone seeking a spiritual retreat in Coimbatore. Architecture of the Temple is phenomenal. To reach there you can go by stairs (700+) or by transport available outside at bottom of hill. You can go there before 7:00 pm as when it gets dark wild animals might find you. View from the temple is breathtaking. If it rains/there are clouds, you're lucky to see those scenes on hill. Clouds might come through the temple (happened with me). City looks great from the top. I Highly recommend to visit.

1. You can reach the temple by govt bus or red taxi cab. Ola/Uber won't come to this place mostly.
2. If you book red taxi, take hourly package 3 to 4 hrs) because if you take one way trip, you can't book it again from temple top. The mobile tower is not available at the top. (red taxi cab be booked only through phone call)
3. If you take govt bus, you need to take another mini bus to reach top. (ticket price 10rs).
4. Once you reach the top, you need to take another 75 steps to reach the temple. It may be slightly difficult for some elderly people as the steps are steep in some places.
5. There are also steps to reach the temple. Around 1000 steps which will take 45 mins to 1 hour.
6. Best time to reach the temple is 4pm to 5 pm in the evening. There won't be much crowd and you can finish all dharshan in 45 mins to 1 hour.
7.Once you reach the temple, take special ticket which is 20rs. You can have a closer look of lord Murugan and also it's quicker

Good temple with ancient history. Had to wait almost for 2 hours to get to mountain top car parking area since they allow only about 10 vehicles at a time to top of the hill due to parking space issue. The teme premises is well maintained. Crowd management is pretty good.
Devotees can avail the free shuttle service being operated from the bus stand to the temple car parking area. From their newly laid out stairs provide comfortable climbing.
This is one of Murugan's Abodes (Arupadaiveedu), signifying the six abodes of Lord Murugan representing the six different forms related to events in his life. The temple, a popular 12th-century hill temple, is situated 12 kilometers from Coimbatore. What makes this Murugan temple special is its location on the eastern face of the hill, distinguishing it from other Murugan temples atop hills. This astonishing, magnificent, and beautiful temple crowns the summit of Marudhamalai Hills. The gentle, refreshing breeze feels heavenly to the devotees, offering an enchanting sight of the lush mountainous surroundings. Peacocks grace the hills, adding to the beauty of this truly amazing place.
The temple is a small temple on the hill. All the services were good according to me. There is a temple provided bus service that connects downhill to uphill and the bus only costs 10 ₹. The hair donation is also free but there is some unaccounted money taken (Mostly around 200 ₹). The waiting time is very low in normal seasons. There are special tickets which are 50₹ per person. The stairs are also good but it's a little uncomfortable and I would not recommend it unless you are not able to climb stairs easily. The temple has a very good environment and the cleanliness of the temple was good. The stairs close approximately 5pm and the last bus service from uphill to downhill is 8pm. So reaching there before these times would be reasonable. There is a good amount of parking uphill for cars and bikes. Definitely would recommend for any type of transport public and private. I have tried this temple in all different holidays and the wait times are always very low unless there is an abishekam going on. Where people have to wait for the abishekam to end. It mostly takes 40mins for the abishekam to end.

Well, big land converted to a religious place having Lor Shiva's statue 🙏 but other than the statue, it is just a place where you can enjoy some food, have shower, and see bullock cart. Lastly a Dome, also called Dhyanlinga where you can sit and meditate. It can also be done at home for people who don't know. Try this, go back home and close your eyes, empty your mind and call upon whoever you worship. God is within you.
They have SAVE SOIL slogan and they love animals. There is bullock cart in 50° degrees carrying passengers from one place to the other. I mean we have battery cars and golf cars but they love animals and want them to know that they are loved deeply. Lets make these poor animals carry 9 people at once under the 50° degree sun. Touche!
Tradition can be supported with technology too, we don't need to harm animals this way. We could barely walk in the sun and these poor animals were carrying so many people. God forgive these people who are doing this to animals 🙏
BATH FACILITY - We had shower in the morning so we didn't go shower here. I mean it's not elixir otherwise we would have definitely.
DHYANLINGA - the road (walk only) leads to dhyanlinga but when its nearly 50° degrees, it makes it difficult to walk barefoot on the UNEVEN and hot surface. They could have put Carpet on the foor covering uneven surface but i guess they were short of funds and also they wanted you to feel the culture. You are going to feel that culture the next day too when your feet hurts. There were old people walking slowly and some of them were pouring water on the floor to walk on that hot surface. It was 3PM and Carpet is a must for people who aren't used to walking on the uneven hot surface.
Finally when you reach dhyanlinga, they will force you to sit inside dome and meditate. We recently had an accident and couldn't sit on floot so they forced us to sit on the chair. We didn't want to be rude so we sat for 2 minutes. There was a small baby crying very softly and these CARETAKERS asked the lady to get out pointing finger as if she made a huge mistake. If they can't respect humanity, what good will come of anything they practice in life. We saw that and immediately stood up. 2 of them tried blocking our way. Well, just to be clear, We bow to God only and there was no God here. We are not slaves they need to get this to their heads. We left instantly without responding to them.
By the way, the best feeling was when we bought 3 packets of biscuits and made the dog eat. He was very happy and kept coming back to give his love. That was the only good feeling we got. We made sure the dog wasn't hungry anymore and then left back for the hotel.
Canteens are everywhere so don't worry if you miss one. There are more on the way. Also phones were not allowed but we noticed some of them carrying it quietly with them. The deposit box is safe. They take your photo and phone number. So nothing to worry about.

I’m reviewing about a unique 'space' on our planet. It needs some introduction.
I’ve a great respect for Tamil people. They follow their age old culture and traditions even today.
Countless Sages & realized beings have illuminated this land since time immemorial.
Sage Agastya , (who wrote our horoscopes in palm leafs known as Nadi Astrology thousands of years ago. Even foreigners come to places like Tanjore to get their horoscope)
Thiruvalluvar, Ramana Maharshi, the great Mahavatar Babaji (I was initiated to Babaji’s Kriya Yoga by Sri M),
Bhogar (It was Bhogar who first noticed the presence of Murugan, the son of Lord Shiva at Palani and made an Idol for him using ‘navapashanas’ or 9 poisons, When these 9 poisons are mixed in a certain proportion, it can heal all ailments)
and finally Lord Shiva himself spent some time on Velliangiri Mountains to grieve his lover’s death. (His wife Parvathi took the life of a Tamil girl in one of her previous life known as Devi Kanya Kumari). That is why this place is known as the Kailash of the South.
Even Sadhguru , in his previous life left his body on Velliangiri mountains. That is the reason he built Isha Yoga Centre just near the velliangiri mountains.
I’ve been longing to visit Dhyanalinga Temple and spent some time inside it since I hear about Sadhguru and read his biography, ‘Sadhguru, More than a Life’. .
We’ve thousands of temples all over the country, but there is one and only one Dhyanalinga Temple. It’s unique.
There is no idol or deity of any kind inside. Only a cylindrical shaped linga with 7 chakras or energy centres as of in a human system with all the chakras energized to its fullest and traped in the linga by sadhguru using his yogic power. It’s a pure energy work.
If anyone who haven’t even heard of mediation comes and sits in front of the linga in silence, he automatically falls to meditation. So Dhyanalinga is also known as meditating machine. Dhyanalinga temple has an important role to play for the centuries to come ahead.
As there is no idol of any kind inside, no rituals are required here.
There is no need to pray inside the temple, just sit in silence. The dhyanalinga will lay the ‘Egg of liberation’ within us. It’ll accelerate our spiritual evolution.
I visited here on Jan31, 2021. Due to corona pandemic, there were many restrictions. Suryakund etc were kept closed however Dhyanaligna Temple was open.
I wasn’t prepared for this journey. I accidentally reached Coimbatore with a friend who wanted to meet his girl friend studying in some college here. We had liquor and non veg food previous days. Yet it was a wonderful experience inside the temple.
If one comes well prepared (having veg foods, little mediation etc), one may have mystical experiences inside the temple.
I was in Coimbatore last week also, but I couldn’t visit Isha Yoga Centre. I’ll be coming here soon with a little bit of preparation.
Pranam Sadhguru
Sajeevan, kannur, kerala
The credit to all the information I shared here goes to Sadhguru himself, he is a living encyclopedia.
I’ve added a photo of Dhyanalinga taken from the internet.

A consecrated space for meditating and channeling one’s energies. You can sit here and meditate for as long as you can. Just make sure you maintain silence inside the Dhyanalinga. Also if there are kids traveling with you, make sure they maintain silence.

One doesn't need to know anything about Meditation, Just by sitting in the sphere of Dhyanalinga a person becomes Meditative naturally. Very Powerful and Sacred space which one must definitely visit atleast once it their lifetime

Absolutely stunning place to visit once in a lifetime. This is a meditation hall with residences around for the people who visit this place for a purpose. Camera, phones, bags and footwear are not allowed but there is a stall right at the entrance to submit these materialistic stuffs. Basically it's somewhat like leaving all material things behind to enter this area. This is run by the Isha foundation and it is just a km away from the Adiyogi statue. Dhyanalinga is the main highlight of this area where people just sit across the huge linga and meditate as much longer as they want. This is a very peaceful place to be around with all the people doing yoga and meditating in the premises. Must visit!

Dhyanalinga Shiva Temple 🙏🚩
Dhyanalinga Shiva Temple in Coimbatore a city in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
Dhyanalinga is present within the premises of Isha Yoga Center. And once you cross Adiyogi statue you need to submit mobile phones and bags to enter the premises where all Kunds, Linga Bhairavi is present.

You will generally walk into one direction making way past across all the Kunds, Temple etc. while before exiting once you look on your right there is an entrance which will lead you to enter Dhyanalinga which at first glimpse will look like the best thing your eyes has ever laid upon. The place maintains complete silence as it usually a place where people meditate in silence.

Dhyanalinga Situated around 30 kilometres from the city of Coimbatore, the Dhyanalinga Temple is a place made up of yogic science. Not belonging to any faith or belief, the Dhyanalinga was made and blessed by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. Many worshippers and visitors find this huge linga to be the source of something energetic, magical and calming. Just silently meditating for a while within the sphere of Dhyanalinga is enough to make one aware of the divine energy.

I would give here 3 stars as everything goes well during my visit but one thing I noted here is that the employee of mgmt forced people to make a circle around the Shivling. Which should not be supposed to be done. Otherwise everything at Dhyanalinga is good.
You're not allowed to bring phones here, one needs to submit it at the counter at the entrance.

There is a Hindu temple called Anuvavi Subramanian Temple located near Periyathadagam in Coimbatore. To reach the temple from Coimbatore, one must take Thadagam Road and turn left after traveling approximately 2.50km. The temple can be accessed by climbing around 300 steps or by using the available bus service. The steps are not steep, and it takes about 15 to 20 minutes to reach the temple.
One of the best place to visit. This place is very peaceful. Very calm and silent amidst the nature you will get lost into divinity ✨
Need to get your mind relaxed? visit here. There is a different vibe here that cannot be expressed in words.♥️I Just loved being there✨
There is a huge Hanuman Statue at the foot hill,
As you start to climb, you have Ganesh temple,
Then as you climb up the hill, you have the main Murgan temple, and Shiva temple is above that, There is atmost silence along with nature's bliss♥️

Anu + Vavi ( Anuman + Ootru) is Lord Murugan who created a water source to help anumar to satisfy his thirst while carrying the sanjeevi Hill. This temple has Lord Murugan along Valli & Deivanai at tier 1 level and at tier 2 level Arunajalasesvarar temple is situated.
Needs to walk 500 steps to reach the temple. Little steep near the temple. Enough rest Places are there.
Temple is neatly maintained, and all steps are well laid. The pathway to the temple is beautiful.
Closes at 6 pm as there were instances of Elephant crossing at the downhill.
On the way to the Hill temple, the left side there is a vanakaruparayan temple. Need to walk a little distance.
Very good temple to visit during the evening with family. Temple is surrounded by dense forest.
Visited on Sunday evening and not much crowded.
Lots of parking available with Rs.20 charged for car.

This temple is located near Chinna Thadagam, it is a hidden gem.
To reach the temple we need to climb 500 steps as it's not accessible by road. The temple is open from 8 am to 6 pm, I highly recommend visiting within these hours. Beyond the designated timings, the path becomes an active animal crossing area, and encounters with elephants are possible.
The main deity of the temple is Lord Murugan, but there is also a dedicated shrine for Lord Shiva. To reach the shrine, we have to climb an additional 100 steps from Murugan temple.
I was pleasantly surprised by the temple's commitment to sustainable practices, they utilise solar energy, which is truly commendable.
The temple is also well-maintained and kept clean. There is ample parking available, and a small parking fee is charged.
The highlight of this temple is the breathtaking view of the Western Ghats. You can enjoy the scenic beauty and peaceful atmosphere. It's truly a refreshing escape from the noise and chaos of everyday life.
If you're using public transport, you can take bus number 11A, which runs from Ukkadam to Anuvavi Kovil, and it conveniently stops near the temple.
Overall, my visit to this temple was a fulfilling experience.

You have to park your vehicle and climb about 300 steps to reach temple. Bus service is also available. We have seen 11A bs there. The steps were not steep. Time required is about 15 to 20 minutes. We visited on a Sunday and we reached the adivaram at about 8am. Temple is open from 8am till 6pm as per the board displayed down near the staring of the steps.
You'll have a peaceful experience on the temple. The place is not crowded also. Overall it's a good experience.

Nestled amidst the serene Anuvavi Hills in Periya Thadagam, just on the outskirts of Coimbatore, lies the enchanting Anubhavi Subramaniar Temple. Steeped in history and shrouded in mystique, this temple holds a special place in the hearts of devotees and travelers alike.
Legend has it that the sanctum sanctorum of this temple was erected by none other than Karikala Chola during the early Christian Era, adding layers of antiquity to its already captivating aura. But it's not just the historical significance that draws people here; it's the tales of divine intervention and spiritual awakening that truly capture the imagination.
One such tale tells of Sri Anjaneyar, who, feeling parched during his journey with the Sanjeevi mount, sought solace and relief in the divine presence of Lord Muruga at this very hill. In response to his plea, Lord Muruga, with a stroke of his Vel, created a spring from which water flowed abundantly, quenching Sri Anjaneyar's thirst. To this day, the origin of this miraculous spring remains a mystery, adding an air of mysticism to the temple grounds. No wonder it's revered as Hanumakumaran Malai, a testament to the divine interconnections between gods and devotees.
Visitors to the temple are greeted not only by its rich history and spiritual significance but also by the breathtaking scenery that surrounds it. The temple's location amidst verdant hills provides a picturesque backdrop for moments of contemplation and introspection.
At the heart of the temple lies the sanctum of Lord Murugan, drawing devotees from far and wide to seek blessings and solace. Additionally, the presence of the Arunachaleswara sanctum atop the Lord Murugan sanctum adds another layer of spiritual depth to the experience.
While reaching the temple might require a climb of 500 steps, the journey is well worth it. Not only are the steps easily navigable, but they also offer glimpses of natural wonders, including the elixir pouring from the mountain and the discovery of a sittar cave along the way, inviting visitors to connect with the divine and the natural world in equal measure.
Moreover, the temple's tranquil ambiance, punctuated by the melodic chirping of birds and the soothing sounds of nature, creates an atmosphere conducive to meditation and reflection, making it a perfect retreat for weary souls seeking solace and serenity.
Must visit !

Anuvavi Subramaniar temple is at a distance of 13 km from the Gandhipuram bus stand in Anaikatti road.
Two town busses, 11 a and 26a, are available to the destiny.
It will take a maximum of 25 minutes to travel in a car or two-wheeler to reach the foothill.
It's a calm, pleasant, natural environment. To reach the temple, climb 450 steps to see the Lord Subramaniar with Valli and Theivanai.
To pray, Lord Siva, climb another 100 steps. From the temple 360° view is beautiful. 4 toilets are available adjacent to the temple. Good drinking water is available at the temple.
Can pray at the base Vinayagar, in the steps, Idumpan. They provide lunch for 50 people daily and can pay a minimum donation of Rs.50 and to a max Rs 2500. Paid parking is available. It's advisable to go between 8.30 am and 4 pm. It is an elephant trail, so be cautious and avoid travel early in the morning and after 4.30 pm. It is better to carry water and, if required, snacks. No shops or hotels. Kindly avoid polluting the hill and temple.

I recently had the privilege of visiting Anuvavi Temple in Coimbatore,South India, and it was a truly enchanting and spiritually uplifting experience.
This temple is a gem that perfectly captures the essence of South Indian temple architecture and culture.
The intricate carvings and colorful sculptures that adorn the temple's walls are nothing short of awe-inspiring.
The attention to detail is remarkable, and it's evident that the artisans put their heart and soul into creating this masterpiece.
The temple's gopuram (tower) is a magnificent sight to behold, with its towering height and vibrant colors.
The spiritual atmosphere within the temple is palpable. The priests and temple staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, making the visit even more enriching.
The rituals and ceremonies conducted at the temple are a testament to the deep-rooted traditions of South India, and witnessing them was a privilege.
Moreover, the temple premises are well-maintained, and surrounding it provide a peaceful and serene environment for meditation and reflection.
Visiting Anuvavi Temple was an unforgettable journey into the heart of South Indian spirituality and culture.
