Krabi City Seaview
Hotel
The Krabi City Seaview hotel is a modest establishment that features simple yet comfortable accommodations and an informal restaurant with panoramic ocean vistas. During our three-night stay in two of their unpretentious rooms, we found the 2-star property to be ideal for our needs. The balcony room we stayed in offered breathtaking views that have left a lasting impression on us. Its location, which is only a ten-minute walk from Krabi city center, was also convenient.
We had 2 rooms and stayed 3 nights. As a 2 star hotel it is perfect. Especially balcony room. It has a awesome view never can forget. Good location about 10 minutes walking to Krabi city centre. Cleanliness is ok but bathroom in see view room (without balcony) need urgent renew. Stuffs are friendly and helpful. Breakfast serves semi buffet but good quality and sufficient. I will come back here for sure.

Only 10min walk to night markets. The hotel is next to the park with nice view of the river/sea gate. Room is clean, old style furnitures.
Something to consider:
- no elevator (but low stairway)
- in room: no slippers, no complimentary water
- in bathroom: quite small, slippery if wet floor
Lien Tran — Google review
No windows open very poor ventilation just a rented room
Dan Ward — Google review
Room smelled, there is no sea view from the rooms, to be fair there is no view at all from the rooms. Cockroaches in the bathrooms and ceilings falling apart. There's no staff at night at the reception so when I locked myself from the room at night there was nobody to open the door, and no phone number to call. At least it was very cheap.
Leal lil — Google review
We choose this place because is near the pier (about 800m). If you don't want to be underground without the window, don't choose the cheapest room. It was really dark and small. But maybe for one night with low budget can be ok. Up the roof is small place where the breakfast is served and from here is very nice view.
Ladislav Kocián — Google review
Please don't go there. First of all it's way too expensive for what you get. The only good thing about this place is the short distance to the nightmarket an the nice receptionist. The first room we had had such a dirty shower and toilet. And the room was smelling like mold. So we got another room with at last a somewhat cleaner bathroom but still you didn't want to touch the shower. It was still smelling like mold and we foud some mold on the bedsheed. We endet up sleeping with a plastic sheet over the bed because we spend way too much on this hotel.
Mara L — Google review
A truly budget hotel but with great river views. Quiet position, located in Krabi Town on the riverside. 5 minute walk to shops, restaurants, street food and coffee shops. Hotel really needs some TLC but OK for the money. Rooms spacious and clean but basic. Bathroom also large but in need of some decoration! No safe in room. Top floor rooms (5th floor) have best views. You will need to book a 'deluxe' room as this appears to be their 'best'. Breakfast very basic with no Thai option. Served on the 5th floor open balcony which is nice. Very friendly staff. River Pier just 5 minute walk for access to Long-tail boats and ferries to all of the islands.
Neil Thompson — Google review
Stayed during low season - great river location with nice rooftop and garden terraces. Room was a bit small but clean and the host is so helpful and accommodating. Near night food market. Love the river walk-perfect for a run!

Room: Family suite spacious and clean.
Service: Received warm welcome from fontliners and friendly staff escorted us to across the road to theme park.
Location: just opposite of theme park but for not locate delights. Need to grab car to Ipoh Town to hunt local food.
Overall, we were enjoyed the stay in Sunway Lost World Hotel.

We only went to the water theme park. Less crowded during the fasting season. However, the cleanliness of the pool, slides and other play matters like the buckets should be maintained clean..there was dirt and algae growth all over... Overall it was a great place to spend time 😊
Grace Alexander — Google review
Went to there in last week. There are ample free parking for hotel quests. The staff from the hotel to the House-keeping, the Guards and at the Theme park were all very helpful and friendly, well done! The room was clean and comfortable. It is recommended to equipped with some cutlery like forks an d spoons. The breakfast at the Garden Terrace was not good. The fried rice and beehoon were too salty, variety of food is very minimal. It can be improved somehow. There are many activities in the theme park, it is a good place for the holiday of the family
TK Ong — Google review
Fast service when we call the operator. One of our toilets can't flush and we were told we need to manually fill the tank with water before we flush each time. The water splashed from the toilet bowl when the plumber tried to fix it and we had to clean the toilet. The breakfast selection and quality is not as good as other similar hotels. Need to walk across a road to get to the breakfast location too. We are not allowed to request for extra towels but we can request to change towels. The hotel WiFi doesn't work properly. Some of us can't even connect even though we requested help from staff.

I recently stayed at Sunway Lost World Hotel and had a fantastic experience. The service was impeccable, with staff going above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction throughout my stay. From check-in to check-out, every interaction was met with warmth and professionalism.
The rooms were spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploring. The beds were comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep, and the amenities provided added an extra touch of luxury to the experience.
Overall, I highly recommend Sunway Lost World Hotel for anyone looking for a delightful getaway. With excellent service, comfortable rooms, and a convenient location, it's the perfect choice for a memorable stay.

This hotel room is pretty basic, but enough for us. Clean and tidy. Service is good.
Breakfast is at the lost world entrance, pretty basic food, cost is included in the room rate.
The only added point is that this hotel is located next to the Lost world of tambun, and the room rate includes 2 entrance tickets for night park, otherwise the room is considered expensive.
K S Lim — Google review
Overall, a wonderful stay that includes a free ticket to the Lost World and is filled with enjoyment. Sadly, because it is pouring, I must forgo some attractions and return to the hotel early. The hotel offers good customer service with prompt responses, and the breakfast is adequate. Everything is fine. No cost parking! Nice and good! Strongly recommended

The environment here was good and the rooms were clean! The staff over there were very polite and friendly ! Great stay here and very comfortable as well as their hot springs night park was damn fun. I love their environment, and it's so relaxed !

Very good location as its just opposite lost world themepark.
Pros
Location. The room also includes themepark night park ticket.
Cons
Ventilation along the corridor is not very good.
The parking is available for the hotel guest but the parking area does not feel very secured
The breakfast hall is too far from the hotel, u need to cross the main road to eat breakfast
Melody Ng — Google review
One of the main issues I encountered was with the secondary lock on my room door. Unfortunately, it couldn't lock properly, which left me feeling a bit uneasy about the security of my belongings.
Another problem was the shower heater. Although there was hot water flowing from the basin, the shower heater itself seemed to be malfunctioning. It left me puzzled as to whether the issue was with the heater or something else.
The air conditioning in the room was also a bit of a letdown. It was kind of noisy, but I managed to bear with it. However, I believe it's an aspect that could be improved for a more comfortable stay.
Lastly, the person in charge of handling luggage seemed a bit clueless, as he parked his van right in the middle of the road to load the luggage. This caused a major inconvenience for other vehicles trying to pass through.
To make matters worse, once all the customers and luggage were onboarded, the driver decided to engage in a chat with the hotel staff. This led to traffic jam forming behind the van.
Interestingly, I couldn't help but notice that there was a dedicated parking area right near the lobby entrance, specifically intended for vehicles like the van. It left me puzzled as to why the driver didn't opt to use this convenient parking spot, which could have avoided the unnecessary obstruction and delays.
While my stay at the hotel was overall enjoyable, this transport mishap certainly left a lasting impression. It's my hope that the hotel management takes note of this feedback and addresses the transport arrangement issues to ensure smoother experiences for guests.

Just across the street to Lost World of Tambun. The staffs were very helpful and friendly. I can't remember the last time a hostel staff actually explained in detail how to get to our room. Excellent service. Our room was clean and nice. We love the complimentary Ipoh white coffee!

Last time we stayed here was a few years ago. I can see that the hotel improved a lot. The hotel is soooo much nicer now. Staffs were very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was okay. There are buffet sections as well as some stalls for omelette, noodle etc.
Overall a pleasant stay. Will definitely consider staying here again!

Service - Superb customer service experience. The staff are well trained and wouldn't hesitate to help a customer in need.
Room - Meets the standard and expectation. Clean, large rooms. The bed is nice too.
Overall my experience here is positive and will consider visiting here again. Cheers

Deluxe Room is very roomy, clean and comfortable. Easy access to Lost World Theme Park. Staff was great and friendly!
We went for the night park. Nothing much apart for the hot spring tbh. We didn't go for the day park so I can't comment on that.
Azrol Qaiyyum — Google review
Love it that they provide refillable water and were very quick with sending the refills over. Didn't like it as their pillow and sheets smells. Bring ur own pillow case. Stay here if you're planning to go to the theme park as there's 2 free night park tickets and 35% off for day park tickets. Room comes with 2 free breakfast but too many good food in Ipoh to try their breakfast. Room can accommodate up to 4 people. Extra roll away bed costs RM160.
Yeong Yoong — Google review
Spent a couple of days there and very convenient if you are visiting the Lost World park. Rooms could have been cleaned a bit more regularly but it was comfortable. Service was very good. If you require anything, call reception and somebody is sent within minutes. Overall, had a good stay.
Frederic Ng Chit Wing — Google review
It is a old hotel. Dated room. Bathroom needs renovation. Water pressure of shower head is too weak. They only provide 1 shower gel and 1 shampoo. For a family to use ? Bring your own amenities. Breakfast is okay. Staff service is great. It is a raining day and all water comes inside our room through windows (which are all closed). We call reception desk, they just send someone to clean up the floor and did not change another room to us. Around 12:30 am. Guest from other rooms yelling and pounding the other guest room door and last for at least 30 minutes. I have such bed experience. However all staff are very nice and friendly.
Cat W — Google review
The front counter, housekeeping and maintenance staff were friendly and helpful. Requests for drinking water were always fulfilled promptly.
We had issue with the lack of water heating when we first checked in, but maintenance had it resolved quickly upon feedback.
Overall, room was spacious and clean. Sufficient amenities provided for our one night stay there. Will definitely recommend if you want to visit the lost world theme park.
Adrian Kwek — Google review
Great customer service and very comfortable bed. But unfortunately 1 lift is out of service. Location just opposite theme park. Very convenience. But if you are looking for chinese food, you will need to drive out. Night park fire performance is a must to see.
Richard Yeo — Google review
The room is clean and all important features such as kettle, hair dryer, fridge, Aircon, tv remote control, water heater and lights all work fine. The air conditioning blowers are facing both sides of the bed to ensure even distribution of cool air. I love the practice of using glass bottles for drinking water instead of single -use plastic bottles. Nice complementary coffee too. Friendly staff and nice hot spring facility. My family really enjoyed our stay there.

Nice hotel, easily accessible. Right in front of the waterpark. Wheelchair and stroller friendly. For breakfast buffet had to cross the road. Not so much varieties. Hopefully they can serve more toddler friendly food - other than cereal and highly processed sausages. Maybe some fried rice or fried chicken.
Annely Jemah — Google review
This is a family friendly hotel, very near to the theme park, plenty of parking space. The room is very spacious, clean and the amenities are great! The breakfast is nice. The staff are attentive and friendly. The room come with free Night theme park entrance tickets and they also offer a discount voucher for purchase day theme park entrance ticket.
Evon Teh — Google review
We went during peak season. The room is fairly basic for the price we pay. We changed 2 rooms due to aircondition was not being cold. The staff upgraded us to a bigger room with 2 ceiling mount aircondition. 5 stars for their excellent service.
Ace JOE — Google review
I was last at Sunway Lost World Hotel 10 years ago. Perhaps it was recently refreshed then, but I remember it being rather good. I checked into this hotel last weekend and found that it is unfortunately not as nice as I remember.
During my 3d 2n stay, my family only experienced hot water all of once. When I complained to the front desk, they sent a maintenance guy who recommended we leave the water running until it was hot. It was obvious there was prior repair work in my bathroom (as well as around the room) in the past and, it was also quite obviously shoddy work. Despite not having any hot water, I suppose it was okay for it to be not cold, at least it was a little bit warm.
Another thing that really irked me, was how I could not replenish my water without first surrendering a bottle. Why is it I can only have 2 bottles in the room at any time? @Sunway Lost World Hotel, if you are reading this, those glass bottles really are not worth nicking -- your housekeeping team did their best to explain, but I must say I was annoyed. Bogged down by rigid policies.
This being Ipoh, I skipped having meals (breakfast) at the hotel; opting to go out for food instead. But on a rainy night, ordering food for in-room dining was a really unpleasant experience, given there was only one chair (and no sofa) in our corner room. Plenty of space, but one working desk, one chair and nowhere civil to place the food -- what a wasted opportunity!
However, I must commend the great staff: from front-desk to housekeeping, who were warm, friendly, patient and seemed to genuinely want to help. Service alone, I'd rate them 4/5. They deserve a pat on their backs, although it feels as though they are struggling with the tools they are provided with.
The hotel is just a 5 min walk away from the theme park (which also feels significantly aged since I was last there), and is in decent proximity to most other amenities (fast food, petrol station, pharmacy, grocery store, etc). Town and most of the local fare is in the city center, some 15-20 mins drive away... but there is always Grab if you are too tired to drive out for dinner.
All things considered -- I regard the stay as value for money, as room stay also included entry into the theme park (which my kid thoroughly enjoyed). There's no discounting how this is really a budget hotel, but great value for the attached water theme park.
Won JY — Google review
The staff deserves special recognition for their warmth and attentiveness. Every member, from the front desk to the housekeeping, went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. They were not only professional but also genuinely friendly, making me feel welcomed throughout my entire stay.
Mike Chia — Google review
This hotel isn’t too bad, but not really worth the price. They seem short of staff but they do try their best to help us as fast as they can. They were also short of utilities like towels, so we had to wait quite a while for them after coming back from the hot springs!
Besides that, the shower head did not have hot water most of the time and the pressure was really low.
But other than that, it was an okay hotel for a few days to bunk in. Food was also okay! I would recommend this hotel just to sleep and eat, but not to relax the whole day and watch TV kinda holiday. Enjoy! :)
Francesca Therese Lee — Google review
Rooms a bit old. But yeah its clean like 3 stars hotel. Bed, bathroom, small tv, aircond. Your typical 3 stars hotel.
But service is top notch. Especially when ask them to adjust the aircond fan, and refill water. Very fast and helpful. They also provide baby cot which is such a plus point for parents with small baby.
Location is strstegic near to the main city, easy to go everywhere and the waterpark is just infront of the hotel.
Breakfast : they provide simple food not something amazing. Can eat thats all. Not a lot variety just nasi lemak, cereal, noodle, porridge. With very fewwwwwww side dishes . (When we come also everything empty already)
But its ok since our plan also going to explore ipoh delicacies and play inside waterpark.
TV only tv cable dont have any nice to watch, especially when u have a bored toddler it would be suck. Nothing to watch at all.
Aircond nice cool and strong (best, especially in ipoh hot weather)
Toilet water is very weak so when u need to do ypur business. You will have a bit anxiety when u flush. But ok lah after 30 mins u try to flush again it will go down.
Shower is ok. Hot water just fine.
The best thing i noticed from the hotel they write everything on the bottle that we can just call to refill our water. Which is so glad to read. Not all hotel will tell u that. Because some hotel will only provide 2 mineral water. And since they support sustainability they will help us refill our water. And service once again was superb. It was really fast and helpful.
Outside room door would be a bit creepy and oldie when u walk. Maybe a bit renov might sound better. Indeed it was an old hotel, but luckily because of the waterpark got a lot peoples staying in this hotel so it feel less creepy. BUT IT WAS A GREAT STAY AFTER ALL.

The Pinang Peranakan Mansion is a heritage house that was converted into a museum in the early 1900s. It is full of antiques and artifacts from wealthy Chinese-born merchant Kapitan Chung Keng Kwee. The mansion has an eclectic East-meets-West charm and it is easy to spend hours exploring its rooms.
It is such a beautiful place jam packed with so much history. The mansion is so huge, you would definitely need to take your time to explore. Bonus: there is a souvenir shop tucked in the back of the mansion.
The staff was very friendly and gave us a free short tour of the mansion before we began exploring. The antiques and furniture were well maintained. There are many helpful info boards all around, you just have to keep your eyes out for it. The restoration of the building was done fantastically, making the mansion come to life

I highly recommend it to those traveling to Georgetown. You should never miss this attraction.
Entrance fee is affordable at RM20 per adult and totally worth the price. We visited at 10am during a public holiday and just in time for a mandarin tour at 10.30am which is very informative.
The mansion is so large that it is hardly noticeable from the outside, and I might have missed some areas without a guided tour. In addition, there are many antiques that are meticulously displayed.
I really appreciate the effort of the current owner to preserve this historical and cultural heritage, and presented to the public.

The Peranakan Mansion was full of history and you can feel it once you step into the place. We went for a guided English tour where the guide told us about the rich story behind this place.
You can easily immerse yourself here for hours, the mansion is huge. You need to take off your shoes for the 2nd floor so I would recommend wearing socks.

Visited the mansion in the afternoon. We reached the mansion pretty late so it was near closing time. However, we made it for the last tour of the day (English version). The tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the mansion. He showed us and explained to us interesting facts and trivia about various designs and purposes. This place is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!

Beautiful and well-preserved old architecture and furniture. I didn't join the guided tour which happens at certain time slots.
I brought my grandparents here and they love it. So many rooms and things to marvel at. Lots of places to rest and sit. Photo spots at every corner.
The gift shop in the museum is lovely as well.
We visited right when the museum opened at 10am and did not need to queue to enter.

Beautiful space - breath-taking and a real joy to visit.
The RM20 entry fee is well worth it - it's beautifully maintained and a delight to wander in.
I particularly enjoyed the central courtyard and the different tiles throughout the premises, as well as the ancestral hall and the paintings.
The pictures don't do it justice - I highly highly recommend you come visit.

Highly recommend a visit to this mansion and join a group with a guide in the museum that is included in the entrance ticket available in Mandarin and English. So rich in history and also gives a good visual representation of what it was like in Penang in the past. The links with China and also England, and also trade with European nations are seen in the objects and design of the mansion. Good to go a little earlier in the day as after the guided tour, there’s time to go around to take more photos and have a closer look at the extensive collections of antiques that tell their stories.

Really interesting place and the man who gave us the guided tour was great. It was pretty busy with large groups of Chinese and people having photo shoots.
WARNING- you cannot pay by card if you are paying for one person admission!
Kate Johns — Google review
Beautiful mansion with a lot of interesting artifacts and a hearty guide (we had an elderly gentleman) who really has pride and insight into the rich memory of the place.
Also guests are allowed to touch almost everything and sit on all antique chairs and sofas, which brings a live spirit to the music rather than a stale atmosphere of dust of usual museums.
Great dive into history of local populace and their adventures!

The owner did a good job at refurbishing and preserving a piece of important history ! The collection was amazing.
I’m really glad that I visited this place, as I finally got to see how it looks inside of a heritage building. I’m still in awe of how rich the Peranakan culture is (and also how loaded someone could be). Throughout the guided tour, it’s apparent that some riches are just unattainable 😂 Out of reach for peasants like us…
Mr. Stanley was an amazing guide to us - an amazing storyteller. The storytelling was so vivid that you’ll feel as if you’ve travelled time. I’m pretty sure he’d repeated it so many times but his enthusiasm was palpable - through the clap of his hands.
Loved it. Highly recommend.

The tour guide in English was so nice and funny! Sometimes, the accent was difficult to follow as he was wearing a face cover/mask. The house is huge and lots to explore in one hour.
Definitely recommend doing the free tour. Otherwise, it's hard to appreciate!
What I liked most is the fact that you can sit and touch almost everything, unlike other museums.
You can also go in and out as you wish all day.
I highly recommend visiting.
Bonus points as King Charles and Queen Consort Camila visited a few years ago, and they also do movie scenes there like Crazy Rich Asians!

One of the things I enjoyed the most in Georgetown. The entry ticket is only 5 dollars, but it's a great value because there's a one hour guided tour in English every 30 mins.
Our tour guide was a very funny Chinese gentleman who took his time to explain to us the history of the mansion in an interesting way and show us every single room. The mansion has many collectibles and rare artifacts from over 200 years ago, some of them are considered priceless.
I totally recommend to add visiting this mansion to your itinerary and get the chance to immerse into it's treasures

I think it's fairly an old hotel from the way it looks inside. Neat and tidy though. All amenities are available and the standard room is a good sized one.
It's centrally located and near a shopping mall. There is also a moderate sized swimming pool and gym. Good for a family stay. There are many small departmental stores nearby so it's convenient if u need any quick eats or drinks.
Lots of street foods just a few minutes walk away. The front desk staff are very courteous and there is also a large spacious cafe in the lobby area. Would love to come back again.

English guide tour started at 130pm on a Monday when I visited, but I think honestly that you could show up anytime and there will be a tour you can catch with just a bit of a wait. There is an upstairs section where no shoes are allowed which isn’t covered by the tour, so that could be a good way to fill time.
Bring cash to pay for your ticket (25 ringgit) if you’re in a small group. I did see card payment accepted but for a tour group of 17 people.
If the blue mansion is the immaculately adorned Nyonya without a single hair out of place, this is the fun sister with a reputation for the best gossip. Walking through this place felt like visiting family. If you need to sit for a break, I recommend the jewelry section as it’s one of the few air conditioned spots.

The mansion has least view from outside. But within ,it has some exquisite collections of the royal family holdings. The place is well maintained and beautifully arranged. There is an entrance fee of RM 50, but there is lots to see and you can spend around 1 hr seeing the displays. At 1.30pm,there is a guide tour also
.The staffs are helpful and there are lots of photogenic items. Inhouse stores are also there for buying souvenirs

It's a really historical mansion, with many interesting things to know about! However the ventilation situation really isn't the best... Yes there are standing fans to help blow air, but in most of the mansion, it's really hot and not a lot of fresh air flowing in. Also you need to take off your shoes if you want to explore up to the 2nd level as well (but the things are really interesting!) there's also a tour where your tour guide will tell you more information about the mansion.

Pinang Peranakan Mansion: A Glimpse into the Past, But Not Without Quirks
The Pinang Peranakan Mansion offers a fascinating glimpse into the rich heritage of Penang's Peranakan culture. The 45-minute guided tour, led by an excellent, comedic guide (kudos to them!), was informative and engaging, bringing the history of the mansion and its inhabitants to life.
However, the experience is a bit uneven. The mansion itself boasts some truly stunning rooms, showcasing exquisite Peranakan furniture, intricate tilework, and beautiful textiles. These sections truly transport you back in time.
On the other hand, some rooms felt a bit average, with displays that weren't quite as captivating.
Another curious feature is the rather large on-site restaurant. While it might be convenient for grabbing a bite after the tour, its presence felt a bit out of place nestled within the historic mansion.
The gift shop also left me scratching my head. While Peranakan souvenirs are expected, the inclusion of generic items like Marvel character keychains felt jarringly out of place.
Customer Service is not their greatest strength. Even when buying tickets. They’re reluctant to accept card payments. Was told originally ‘Cash Only’ and has to be more than 100 Ringgit, which doesn’t make any sense. Eventually a card reader is shown and card payments are accepted, when I’d just paid 50 Ringgit. The person selling tickets also has a negative attitude and was very unprofessional. There’s also the slight issue of the sticker to wear to show you’ve paid for your ticket. I told them I’ll place the sticker, where I want it to be, not to be dictated.
You have time slots for either an English or Chinese tour guide.
Overall, the Pinang Peranakan Mansion is worth a visit, especially if you're interested in Penang's cultural heritage. Just be prepared for a mixed bag – breathtaking rooms and historical insights alongside some slightly odd additions.
Getting there is easy. You can hail a Grab taxi or, if you're feeling adventurous and the Penang heat isn't too oppressive, it's definitely walkable.

Very informative FREE guided tour (Thanks to the very knowledgeable tour guide - Stanley)
We lean so much about the Peranakan culture.
Well preserved and maintain mansion.
It’s worth visiting if you’re in George Town.
At the time of visiting, entrance fee is RM 25.

Very beautiful!
They have english/chinese tours every 30 minutes (though the chinese tours are only every hour or so, I believe). If you're bilingual, I recommend the Chinese tour because it's more in-depth, at least based on what I overheard. Though the English guide is also very friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable.

An opulent, well-maintained and magnificent looking Peranakan house, both exterior and interior, with history and heritage. Many interesting items on display. There are guided tours conducted in English or Mandarin during certain time slots. When I went there, there were many visitors but not much of a queue. Staff are welcoming and friendly.

This is one of the must visit places when in Penang.
It's a historical house that a rich Chinese businessman had built in the late 1800s early 1900s.
The businessman was so rich that he also built a Chinese Temple next door, as well as a separate museum, with a dining room and kitchen buildings at the rear.
A lovely mansion that is well furnished with beautiful furnishings, and easily takes you back to yesteryear.
The Temple, museum and the kitchen are also worth visiting and are all included in the one entry price of 25RM as at Oct 2023.
I visited during the off-peak season and it was somewhat busy, but in peak season it could possibly be crowded.
The buildings are air-conditioned and this makes for an excellent atmosphere and encourages taking the time to view all that is on display. Allow between 1-3 hours to see everything depending on how much time you wish to spend taking in the great experience and looking at all the wonderful features, details and displays.
The history of how he made his fortune, including tin mining, is also interesting and worth reading about.
Excellent attraction. Enjoy.

Worthwhile visit if you're in Penang and can spend a few hours wandering around the museum. Found it really interesting to see how the rich Chinese lived during the time.

Penang Hill is a tourist attraction in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia which offers panoramic views of the city below. The mountain peak is also home to colonial-era hotels and bungalows, a suspended walkway canopy walk called The Habitat, a mosque and a Hindu temple. Penang Hill is also close to the Kek Lok Si Temple, within 3 km of its vicinity.
I consider Penang hill as the icon of Penang. As a tourist you must visit it otherwise don't come to Penang ^_^. you will be lucky if visit it in normal days (not public holidays or weekend) because you have to wait in long queues for more than hour to get into the train.
Up there, the view is charming, pure air, and lots of odd plants you can see. if you like hiking, this is the ideal place to enjoy the amazing nature. otherwise, you can get into a car against 5-10 RM.
You can enjoy many activities there such as purchasing love locks and write your name with your lover then lock it on a fence. also there is Owl museum, some shops and restaurants.

It is a view point of this city. The entrance fee is 30 RM roundtrip . The top has a very beautiful view. And there is a great botanical garden. There are trees, flowers that are rare to see. The weather is good, 15 degrees, the height is 800 meters.

It’s so kitschy and so touristy but this is one way to enjoy the overview of Georgetown. Temperatures here are also a delightful treat after the humidity of the lowlands. The funicular train also adds to the excitement of ascending and descending this place.
Do hire a buggy at MYR 30 per head to explore the place expediently. Immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature with a few surprises from monkeys and giant squirrels.

Went in at 9am in the morning on Friday, there was a small crowd waiting for the rail already.
Managed to get on the second rail, and the ride up took <5minutes.
There weren’t many people in the morning, thus, quite enjoyable to sightsee.
It got crowded at 12+pm, and we were about to leave… The queue for the rail got crowded.!
Good to go in the morning to avoid the crowd!

Super touristy place to visit but worth doing if you're here in Penang. I recommend the pass otherwise you'll be waiting in line a long time to go up OR down. The extra 10 ringgit allows you to skip the line.
If you like to walk, at the top I suggest checking out ask the trails. You can of course walk down the mountain. It takes about 2 hours.
If you don't like walking so much, you can hire a little car to drive you around or to the coffee shop at the end of a road. It comes with a ride back too.
We decided instead to walk back so we could stop and take pictures. Totally worth it.
The earlier you come the better the experience will be. Less lines, less tourists, less heat.

⚠️2 hours to wait in a huge queue even in weekdays to go up and down the hill if you didn't buy the fast pass. Buy the fast pass and it's only 10min to wait... MUCH FASTER!
Train ride was fun, view was nice, you can walk around a bit. Didn't love it but seems like a thing to do in Penang.

It is a beautiful small hill where you can see the whole city view. The jeep service can take you on 700M on top of the hill where you can find Hindu temple and a bunch of other stores.

We left our hotel very early in the morning to catch the bus to Penang Hill. It took us about an hour or so. When we arrived we had the option of taking the train or walking. We chose to walk and enjoy the scenery. Personally I underestimated how long it would take us and how far it was but all in all it was great way to spend the day walking up to the hill and checking out different things along the way. We made plenty of stops along the way and took our time. the views were amazing the further you got up the hill. When we reached the top of the hill we walked around the temple and checked out what was around. A lot of things you had to pay for so we just decided to walk around and see what was up there. If you plan to walk up I would defiantly recommend going for when it opens as it's cooler and less humid. Once the sun comes out it gets scorching hot. Once we were finished walking around the top of the hill we decided to walk back down but the other side where there was a garden with lots of birds and many monkeys. The walk down was 7km and all down hill. Our legs were like Jell-O but it was a nice walk.

One of the popular tourist attraction is Penang. Located near Georgetown. Easy to find and public parking available here for a fee. I visited recentlly on a weekend. It was very crowded and waiting time for Furnicular train/Tram was almost more than an hour. Tickets can be bought at the counter for 1 or 2 way to/from the Penang hill. There is a food court up there and also a buggy service for visitors to tour the hill area for a fee. There are attractions such as Tge Habitat, Old and historical buildings, a Coffee shop and a Museum etc. Best thing to witbess is beatifull views of Georgetown and other nearby Islands. Management should take a note that there was no physical distancing in the Furnicular train.

We bought the fast lane tickets for trains. But since the school holidays, many queued. The view was amazing, the food up there was delicious and there are many beautiful views from the top of the hill. But overall, we enjoyed our trip here. Worth every penny. Will definitely be back again.

Unfortunately the viewing deck was under construction when I visited. There are some nice spots where you still can enjoy a good view from the hill. If you visit this place during a workday or Sunday there most probably won’t be any queues. If the weather is clear, during sunset the views should be very nice. Also, you can find some very pretty monkeys there. If you are in Penang definitely recommend.

We came here on a Monday late morning around 10 am. It was not crowded and brisk getting the standard ticket, and up we go to the top of Penang Hill.
There were quite a lot of tourist attractions at the top of the hill. We choose to do the Curtis Crest Tree Top Walk. It cost around MYR 60 Per Adult. It was a great walk for city folk with nice scenery.
Alternatively, a family of five can hop on bungee ride for MYR 30.
We suggest to avoid weekend and local public holidays as we heard it is usually crowded.

To be honest the only amazing things is the tram 🙂, even it was fully of people so you cannot see anything. 😅

Penang has a very good hiking trail. From bottom of the hill to top you need to use about 2-3 hours. You can use the mid station if you feel tired on the halfway. You can buy the return ticket before you start hiking preferably before 830am to get the half price discount. There is also nice food and red bean ice to enjoy on the hill.

Excellent place to visit when in Penang, Malaysia.
The funicular train takes us from the bottom of the hill to the top of the hill. It is a very good experience, almost like a roller coaster.
The views from the top of the hill are amazing and the best time to go to this place would be at the time of sunset perhaps.
Plan this one carefully. The tickets, the time of the day, etc.

Went on a Monday at 8.30 am. It was also during Ramadan. Queue was short at that time. Waited 15 minutes. We got the standard ticket online, didn't pay for the express. Some food and drink stalls at the top station were open as shown in the photo. Drinks about 8 Ringgit each. We asked at the information booth just outside the top station about the places to go and directions cos we couldn't make it out from the map provided. They were helpful. It was reasonably cool in the shade and there was quite a bit of shade along the main 2km path but quite hot in the sun. When we got to the Monkey Cup, we were too tired and hot to walk back uphill. Fortunately, we could take one of the buggys back up for 15 Ringgit. We didn't go into the Habitat.

Beautiful view and nature once you are up the hill, but here all good things end.
I don’t mind the crowds during holidays if it’s the only time to see something, but some outright bad things are:
1) Waiting- you have to buy a ticket and are told to wait for almost 2 hours to go up the funicular. In reality you spend 2,5+ hours in a queue and waiting.
2) Tickets are sold by “batches” with numbers. Once it’s your batch time, you proceed to the boarding queue. Waiting patiently in line only to be mixed in the end with all other people so that people with batch numbers bought after you end up in front of you instead. For example, our number was 45 but there were 46 and 47 people in front of us.
3) No huts/shelters from the rain. It rains sometimes, hard, and you simply have nowplace to wait it out.
4) Return queue: when you come totally soaked to go down, you are told to wait another 2 hours or buy express lane tickets 3 times more expensive than usual ones.
And in the end, both express and usual waiting people just mix and gash in into the crowded cabins.
All in all, worst mountain funicular organization out of all countries I ever encountered. Langkawi Sky Bridge is a good comparison- same country, much better queqe handling.

Penang Hill is a great escape from the busy streets of Georgetown. The funicular railway ride to the top is a fun experience in itself, offering stunning views as you climb. Once at the summit, you're rewarded with fresh air, rainforests trails, and a breathtaking panorama of Penang Island. Whether you seek relaxation or light adventure, Penang Hill offers something for everyone. Just beware of potentially long queues, especially during peak hours.

This is a great place to enjoy the cool breeze and beautiful views. I am really enjoyed it. I am followed the tour guide. The tour guide explained the place really well. I am understand everything. When I am entered, the queue was full with people. It was really crowded. I felt very unfair to them because they had to wait. I am waiting for the funicular train to arrive. After a while, the train came. According to the website, the train can transport 800 passengers per hour. The train came up really fast. I could feel the cool breeze hitting me as I stepped out of the train. I am taking some photos. I went to Astaka Bukit Bendera. Taking pictures is my favourite. I went for a ride, up and down, and it was quite chilling. One lesson I learned is don't try to offend, when they take you to the end (I guess the end over there because I saw a coffee shop) they ask you do you want to have coffee here? Say yes if you have time, say no if you don't because they will leave you there. I am having a great time here. Really had a great time. The view is superb. I will come here again alone in the future.

The funicular ride was interesting but make sure you stand closer to a window, so that you won't miss the view! You can get a nice view of the whole city and the sea from the top of the mountain. We also went on a buggy ride. Traveling on holidays will be a bit uncomfortable if you are not the type of person to wait in queues for around 1 - 2 hours.
Pantai Cenang is a popular sandy beach situated amidst a bustling strip of duty-free shops, souvenir stores, and restaurants. It offers great accommodation options like the stylish and friendly Langkawi Dormitorio with unique pod-like bunks or the Motel Aurora Damai with spacious and clean rooms. If you wish to wake up right next to the beach, choose Best Star Resort or Kunang Kunang Heritage Villa that boasts lush gardens and an outdoor swimming pool.
One of the best beaches that I'v ever seen. I called it "The Beach of Fire" because of the fire shows at the night. Many water activities can do here for all family members. There is a clean public toilet which is very import matter. White sands and mostly clean and clear sea. I hope to visit it again after Covid impct ends and the tourists come to visit Langkawi again massively. Now most of the tourism is local and increase on weekend days.

The beach is nice. But there are too many cars bringing jetsky every morning to the beach and take them away in the evening while the beach is full of people. The sand is over compact . Not soft. The city council/tourist board need to find a solution, a place to store the jetsky and not have all the jeeps going up and down the beach.

My first visit to Langkawi and were glad we chose to stay at this beach. You have all the beach activities, night life and sunset viewing on this beach. The beach was clean except for some broken shells and big fish scales brought in during high tide.
Lovely beach to jog in the early morning when it was empty. Before 7am, part of the sky would be lighted by sunrise behind the beach.
In the evening, it was too crowded with boats and whatever motor vehicles for rent. Diesel smell was strong too.
All the cafes and pubs were by the beach if you want a shaded area plus refreshments or dinner watching sunset. There were night street market and fire show in the middle of the beach street by evening. Guess they are there every night because we saw them 2 nights in a row...on Thursday and Friday nights. Such a disappointment. A beautiful beach destroyed by polluting water activities.
There are literally hundreds of jet-skis, banana or donut boats, paragliding etc.
Result:
1. The water is super dirty, you cannot see your feet even if they are 20cm deep.
2. The only smell you can feel on the beach is the gasoline and it sticks on you after a swim
3. It's scarry to go for a swim because they go super fast and they are dangerous as they might hit swimmers.
It's really a pity to see a spoiled paradise like this.

Kilim Geoforest Park is a nature reserve with beautiful mangrove forests, lagoons and beaches situated in Langkawi, Malaysia. The park offers river tours departing from the jetty near Tanjung Rhu that showcase the stunning limestone formations along the northeastern coast. Visitors will have an opportunity to explore Gua Kelawar, a cave hill which is home to bats. Lunch at a floating restaurant and eagle-watching are also included in most tours.
Wonderful experience to see the beauty of mangrove forest and the formation of the islands. It's a best for nature lover. We got a very friendly and engaging boat driver and gave us a very exciting boat ride around the geoforest. But sadly it's raining on the day we went but still have a great experience.

Great tour of the mangrove trees. Lots of wildlife! As part of making ecotourism more sustainable, our guide cautioned against feeding the eagles, lest they become dependent on tourists for food (already happening) & don’t get enough nutrition from the type of food that tourists feed (eg chicken skin)

We had one of the best experience in our Malaysia trip,You have to travel a little far, so book a car by grab, Simply a must do if you're in Langkawi - it's the best activity on the island. It's around 350 ringgit for whole boat, The fish farm is not really good but
the eagle feeding is ethical (NB you don't
physically feed the eagles, you watch them feed in the river), and along the river we saw monkeys, lizards and snakes. All in all, a terrific experience. There was a floating restaurants selling sea food and chickens dishes, we enjoyed a lot, it’s worth every single penny

Quite lovely nature park. The bat cave is a quick stop but quite nice to see. There’s also another cave the boats can go into and a bunch of curious monkeys there. Then the eagles are quite beautiful, a 10 minute stop and they feed them some chicken skin to get them diving. The one thing that was a waste of time for me was the fish farm. Not really interesting and a bit too touristy. Our boat driver was quite knowledgeable about much of what we saw. For me, 2 hours is plenty but if you like exploring then get the 3 hour tour.

One of the must go places in Langkawi. If you have time, highly recommended to take more than 3 hours package so that you can experience swimming at one of the beachfront facing Andaman sea. For my family and I, the highlight was eagle watching and the boat operator gave them chicken skins and you can watch how the eagles feed on the skin, what a view to watch with your eyes! Plan your trip early so that you avoid when the water level is high at noon, you may not be able to enter the crocodile caves. Also, if you plan to eat at the fish cages restaurants, suggest you find out waiting time because it can be very long wait for you.

We were so fortunate that Azir was able to show us a new route that took us to the Eagle feeding spot, through the Mangroves and low tide area to see colourful crabs, and past the curious macaque monkeys (we even saw a sleeping viper). It was a beautiful day out, and it is 100% worth doing! We would totally recommend Azir, as he goes above and beyond for your group. Azir made us feel so welcome and well looked after. He is a very experienced guide with excellent facts and knowledge of the area. To top it off he ensured that we got to spend some time at a stunning beach and then got home safely. A day to remember!

This park is definitely worth a visit. It is comparable to Vietnam's Halong Bay except this is much cleaner. There are many tourist attractions that you can go see such as crocodile cave, eagle feeding, floating fish farms, private beaches, mangroves and more. There are tour boats that will give you a taste of each.

Boat ride, mangrove tour, eagle feeding, bat caves excursion - all in within 2-3 hours tour (depending on which package one chooses), what else can you ask for?
Not regretting one bit as the experience was exhilarating especially for the little ones. If you get a good boat captain, one might get the chance to manoeuvre the boat as well 😉

One of my best decisions to visit this mangrove tour. Thanks God that the weather is amazing during my time. Those kind stuffs also help me to keep my luggages without charging. Rmb to check tide season before coming here bcs there are some places which u cannot access in high tide such as bat caves and crocodile caves. Which is very unfortunate for those ppl who prepared for long times to see this. They provide private and sharing tours. There are many packages included according to visiting hours. For me, I personally recommend 4-hrs tour with lunch. You can enjoy the strong wind and minor waves in Andaman open sea. Can go through mangrove path to watch swimming monkeys, go through crocodile cave. Having lunch at floating fish farm and look around the nature. What an amazing experience to relieve stress after hectic life.

Sky Cab adventure sports center offers an unparalleled experience with its cable car ride up the lush Mt. Machincang, showcasing breathtaking vistas from its peak observation decks. While it's an excellent excursion for most, individuals with acrophobia may feel uneasy as the ascent is one of the world's steepest and quite daunting, particularly near the mid-point station. Compounding this fear is that for most of the journey below you will be a boundless chasm filled only with dense woods.
Amazing location, great facilities!
Total adventure during the cab ride. Thrilling journey to and fro!
A great location for people loves thrill and adventure!
Adequate parking facility and eateries along with loads of boutique stores and convenient stores!
A decent restaurant is located at hill top where you can snacking in the clouds!

Overall, a really great experience. The scenic view of the mountain, sea and settlements all around is second to none. However, it can be quite unnerving for people with fear of heights like me as it is really steep (one of the steepest in the world), especially right before reaching the middle station Furthermore, for majority of the ride, far far below you would just be an extremely vast abyss of nothing but forest, which makes it that much more scarier.

Very enjoyable cable car experience
Thrilling ride up the hill
August is rainy season but we were lucky to get good clear weather on the day of our attendance.
Didn't buy additional ticket for Skybridge as view from lookout point was amazing already
Managed to see seven wells waterfall on cable car - really beautiful. Although, view would be better if cable car glass door was a bit clearer. Thank you

This place is a must visit place if you go to Langkawi.
It feels nice to go up by a cable car to enjoy the sea and the island view around from up.
The drive to the Langkawi Skybridge Cable Car area took me around 20 minutes. Anyway, the island isn't that big and it is easy to hire a taxi to go there. The ticket price was fair to me, not cheap, but not expensive. You can easily buy it online.
It feels different to be up there enjoying the views. Also, there is a small cafeteria to sit and have a rest if you need to do so.

This is the best place you need to come here if you go to langkawi, i go here jan 1, 2024 and don't have many people visit... Must visit the best day to avoid crowded people, cant bring mineral water, can bring just put your own bottle, bring chocolate can but all must be put in a bag don't show security . .. put sunburn lotion,
I go here start opening and capture every moment. Very recommended don't miss it.

Bought tickets at Matta fair to only learn that it’s not fast lane and does not include the cable car ticket for Sky Bridge.
Instead to reach sky bridge you need to either top up RM10 per head for the cable car down, or hike for 10mins.
To be honest, there’s nothing much on the top besides the great scenery. It’s actually a shame that there’s nothing much to do besides taking some pictures.
ACM — Google review
Definitely worthwhile visiting this whilst in Langkawi. The cable car takes you to the top a few high viewing platforms where you can see some breathtaking, 365 degree views of the island and beyond.
The cable car itself isn't too expensive (we paid 85 MR per person) to go to the top. The ticket includes a few other gimmicks, but doesn't include the Sky Bridge access. The car itself goes at a steady pace up the line. You can pay extra for a private car or glass bottom car.
On the way to the car itself, there are a few shops (souvenir, drinks, food). Also note toilets have a fee of 0.50 MR).
Highly recommended!

Well maintained. Cannot bring water bottle to hill because they want visitors to buy it at hill for their business. RM 5 per bottle. Can drinks RM 4. Waiting period for sky glide almost 1 hour. No wheelchair access to hill.
Nice view at top.

Well worth the money. Doesn't feel like it will make it up as it's so high but when you do it's so spectacular. A lot of options on the packages though but worth a visit. Booked tickets the day before and didn't wait any time to get in and up just be prepared to share a car with other people if there isn't 6 of you

The queue was less crowded on the early morning (10.00 am). The staff had been trained professionally to handle the guests and great hospitality at the Skycab, Skybridge and 3D Arts. Stunning view can be seen from both the Skycab and Skybridge, with hills and sea which show the beauty of Langkawi island. Very recommend spot.

Very cool experience
Quite a long drive so you have enough time to check the amazing views
The skybridge is not a must. On the top you have 2 fantastic view platforms with 360 degrees view
85RM per person in 2022. Price is fair imho

Views from cable car…
It’s worth the wait to have these best view from top…
Recommend to take tickets only when you are at the place as their won’t be any refund and entry to sky bridge is closed if there is any rain. Always try to go in Morning hours to avoid crowds and rain in the evenings.

I have to give 4 stars instead of 5 coz the whole place is not underprivileged friendly, especially for elderly and wheelchair users. Too many staircase and no ramp at all. However, for mobility free like youngsters, then is a good place.

Really fun, the ascent into the clouds was very steep so not for the feint of heart. Views from the first stop were amazing. Cloud coverage can be a pain so plan your trip accordingly. We went off-peak and did not have to wait long to board, though it is one of the busier attractions on the island. Plenty of souvenir shops and food nearby at the base.

Fun cable car to ride and the area is very scenic. If you are brave, book the glass bottom car for some extra thrills.
Pro tip, at the top, one can wait (like for a while) for the sky car to go to the circular bridge, but is only a 10 min walk. Though the steps are pretty tall so I would not recommend it for those with bad knees.

Loved this... Read lots of reviews off waiting times etc . But mid morning on a Monday, we just walked straight in. No queues up or down.
I'm pretty adventurous, but I must admit it is very high! If you're unsure about heights, maybe think twice before you get on. But looks very impressive and safe enough for me.
We paid for sky can and sky bridge. Didn't do the eagle nest, but that looked impressive and didn't involve a lot of steps to get to like the sky bridge. So maybe suggest you buy the sky cab and eagle nest?!

Ko Lipe is a stunning tropical destination that offers an array of activities such as snorkeling, diving, and boat tours. This picturesque island boasts of beachfront hotels and restaurants that cater to the diverse needs of its visitors. The crystal-clear waters and pristine beaches are some of the highlights of this paradise on earth. Compared to other famous beaches in Thailand, Ko Lipe stands out for its relatively clean beach environment.
I was wondering what happened to all those beautiful and scenic beaches at Koh Lipe now since my last visit 3 years ago before the start of the Coronavirus pandemic.
I traveled by ferry from Langkawi to the Island, after having cleared Immigration my rendezvous began. The journey from Langkawi took me about 1 hour 40 to reach the immigration Depoh. A reminder to check in early at the Langkawi Immigration before departure. The ferry fare is RM150.00.
Lipe is transcending with it's almost perfect white sand and clear water beaches. Not easy to put it in words, you got to feel for yourself to best described it. Fortunately I went during off peak and have everything to myself to enjoy.
Most places I visited were outstanding with its warmth and friendly smiles, service wise excellent. Then there was the local food marvelously yummy, for 3 days I was feasting like a Royalty, plenty to eat and prices were not too expensive for a budget traveler like me.
Moving around this island is rather convenient or you can hire a motorcycle, language is not a problem most local can understand and speak simple English.
You got to experience firsthand to feel the excitement, I can write for hours but nothing feels more enjoyable and rewarding then to actually be at the island. I would definitely plan another trip there since I have a little knowledge about the people and the places even with a tighter budget.
Go and feel the life there, get pack and you'll never regret it. Cheers and hope you'll have a wonderful holiday.

Stunning island that offers it all. Relaxation and chilled vibes throughout. Lively bars and fire shows for the party goers. Endless selection of food and drinks. Fantastic snorkeling around the islands. I hope this island keeps it charm and doesn't head the way of islands like Phi Phi that became far too touristic.

Little paradise of Southeast Asia. While some people might claim it is overrated I personally do not think so. It's a bit harder to get to compared to the other islands of the area (e.g. Phuket) so it does offer a piece of tranquility during the low (monsoon) season.
The white sandy beaches and crystal clear sea make for a picturesque setting. It is also ideal for scuba divers and snorkellers alike due to the wealth of marine life surrounding the island.
Antony Teoh — Google review
We loved this island for the amazing water and marine life. Absolutely stunning fish and coral reefs. Unfortunately the island itself has not been looked after. So much rubbish everywhere, on the beach and in the jungle. Such a shame for such an amazing place in a marine park. It’s a bit of a hike to get to the island and is in great need of a major cleanup. Unfortunately we had to leave early because of oil on the sand from a fishing boat oil spill that nobody seemed to care about cleaning up. Apart from the oil and rubbish this place is stunning if you’re into snorkelling and diving. Lots of stray dogs.

Beautiful island. It reminds a lot of Phi Phi, but it is much calmer. The sea is turquoise blue, warm. Beaches with white sand are neat and clean. Nice island. Getting there is not the most enjoyable journey, but it’s worth it.
We were there during low season, 1-4 June, so some restaurants and other places were closed. I suppose there weren’t that many people for the same reason. It was peaceful and relaxing. It’s small enough and you can easily reach every part walking.
The water is very clear and there are a lot of colorful fish and some corals. Nice spot for snorkeling. There are a lot of diving centers too. Unfortunately, there are often a lot of boats near the shore and it’s not ideal for swimming, but you can choose other spots for that.
I wouldn’t recommend it for parties. Prices are higher compared to inland, but still lower than European standards.
We recommend Sunset beach for the sunset.
Koh Rok Noi is a popular destination known for its pristine white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and exceptional snorkeling opportunities. A day trip to Koh Rok Noi and Koh Ha is highly recommended as it costs approximately 3000 THB but is well worth the money. The speedboat ride takes around 40 minutes to reach the first snorkeling site and there are four sites in total with remarkably clear water.
Great place to snorkeling with tour agency. Nearby island have super clean powder white sand beach.

Lanta Animal Welfare is a nonprofit organization that offers adoption services for dogs and cats, as well as guided tours and a merchandise shop. The sanctuary boasts ample space for every animal, and the employees and volunteers display great affection while taking care of them. It's impressive to see the amount of effort put into helping street animals without charging those who can't afford it.
The work they are doing are essential and amazing to the surrounding area. If you're in Koh Lanta, you have to visit and see all the lovely cats and dogs. 200baht per person and they currently only run 1 tour a day at 10:45 due to covid.

Lanta Animal Welfare was an amazing place to visit. They do so much for these vulnerable animals and give them a better life. A lot of these dogs and cats have been in life threatening conditions, so to see them in the great condition that they are today was truly touching. All of the staff and volunteers were great to speak to about information on each animal and were all really positive people. You could really tell that these people love doing what they do.

Absolutely amazing organisation! We booked a tour online around the welfare centre, there was a lot of information about how Lanta Animal Welfare came to be and what they do but it’s so important to understand fully just how much they do for animals on the island and the surrounding ones too. The volunteers are all really friendly - you can just tell how much they all adore animals and what a good job they do in look after them. The cats in kitty city were all so affectionate and friendly even after everything they’d been through!
The tour was really informative and a must do whilst on the island - we also did the time for lime cooking class which has been one of our favourite things yet. The chefs were friendly, funny and enthusiastic! I loved the cocktail making aspect of it too!

Worth a visit to support these animals! 200 Baht donation for the daily tour. They also have a gift shop where your money goes straight to the care of the animals. They really care for them. Many of them were abandoned, surrendered or found hurt by motor accidents or people (disgusting humans!!) They try their best to educate the public that animals need love and are not "dirty" which is what many people believe. They perform surgeries, neutering and spaying, give all the animals the shots they need. They are the reason why there are so many happy & healthy animals on Ko Lanta. They also need volunteers. Since Covid they don’t have as many so if you can spare the time, please reach out to help volunteer during your stay here! They are doing hard work and need all the support! ♥️♥️🙏🙏🐱🐶

You get to pet the cats and dogs, hear some stories why and how people are working there. In one hand it is bit sad to hear the tragic stories, but on the other hand there are so many heart worming happy ends.

The lady who gave us our tour (apologies can’t remember her name) was amazing you, can see how much love she has for the animals. the volunteers all seem to be very happy and work relentlessly hard to keep the sanctuary up and running. I can’t recommend visiting more the staff and the animals greatly appreciate the visit. I wish I could take them all home with me as me and my partner fell in love with Butter the cat, as well as Dominic and a beautiful three legged ginger cat.
The negative reviews are honestly lying and seem to be upset that a charity has asked for money.

I took their tour and it was easily one of the best things I did in Lanta! The organization has saved, treated, rehabilitated more than 10,000 dogs and cats and helped many of them get adopted.
It was humbling to see the work that goes into maintaining their facilities and staff, and how they use the funds to build a safe space for animals to heal and trust humans again.
I’d definitely recommend doing the tour! They also have a cooking class — time for lime — and all its earnings are used to run the welfare. So you can do either of those to support the animals.

They have tightened what they offer here, which makes sense. You need to book in for a tour. First you meet in a welcome area with cats, where they tell you about their rescue centre. Then you get a tour of the facilities, where at a distance you can meet some of their dogs, view their kennels and see their medical centre. It’s great to see the work they do.
Edited to add I can’t help but laugh at the (minimal) negative reviews, complaining that they have to pay to see the animals. Of course you do - it’s a donation run charity.

Maya Beach, nestled on the picturesque Phi Phi Islands in Thailand, is a tropical haven that captivates visitors with its stunning natural beauty. With its pristine white sands, crystal-clear waters, and dramatic limestone cliffs, this beach is a paradise that will leave you in awe. However, it's important to note that swimming in the water is restricted due to the presence of baby sharks, which can be seen as a drawback for some.
The moment you set foot on Maya Beach, you'll be greeted by a breathtaking panorama that seems straight out of a postcard. The turquoise waters gently caress the powdery white sands, creating a mesmerizing contrast against the backdrop of towering limestone cliffs. It's a sight that will take your breath away and leave you feeling like you've stepped into a tropical paradise.
While swimming in the water is restricted, you can still enjoy Maya Beach. You can lounge on the soft sands, soak up the sun, and take in the stunning views.
The restriction on swimming is due to the presence of baby sharks in the area. While this may disappoint some visitors who were hoping to take a dip in the crystal-clear waters, it's important to remember that this measure is in place to protect both the sharks and the visitors. It's a testament to the commitment to conservation and responsible tourism in the area.
Despite the restriction, Maya Beach still offers a unique and unforgettable experience. The beach is regulated to ensure the preservation of its natural beauty, and the controlled visitor numbers contribute to a peaceful and enjoyable atmosphere. The surrounding cliffs provide a stunning backdrop for photography enthusiasts, offering countless opportunities to capture the beauty of Maya Beach from different angles.
Visiting Maya Beach is a chance to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature. The untouched beauty of the beach, combined with the breathtaking views and the sense of serenity, creates an experience that is truly rejuvenating for the soul.
In conclusion, Maya Beach is a tropical haven that enchants visitors with its natural beauty and serene atmosphere. While the restriction on swimming due to baby sharks may be seen as a drawback for some, it's important to appreciate the efforts made to protect the marine ecosystem. Whether you're lounging on the sands, or in the vibrant waters, or simply taking in the breathtaking views, Maya Beach offers a memorable experience that will leave you longing to return.

Super nice scenic beach. You can only enjoy views and put your feet up to knee level. No other activities are possible.

Must visit when in Thailand. Pristine blue water and lots of activities. Can do Scuba here or just chill on the beach. The beach is crystal clear. Best time to visit is Nov to Feb.
Would not suggest to stay here for the night. A day’s visit is enough. Take a boat from Phukhet.

After years of needed recovery Maja-Bay re-ooened recently with a new more protective concept. 400Bt entrance fee (40Bt for Thai-People) and usually one stays 1hr.
For sure, it's a wonderful place of nature. Even now in low-low-Civid-Season it's a good idea to come early around 9:00 o'clock.

Maya Bay is one of the best tourist location in the Phi Phi Island trip. Beautiful landscape and crystal clear water enhances the islands beauty.
Since they are preserving baby Shark, visitors are not allowed to swim or do any kind of water sports activities.

A beautiful beach and island destroyed by mass tourism. They are making efforts to restore the marine life and the island and closing it to the public starting the first of August this year.

Le site est superbe, la plage magnifique.
Le seul point noir est le flux de touristes, 30 mn sur l'île.
Pas possible de flâner et profiter du décor paradisiaque, le chemin est balisé pour éviter, je pense, la destruction du site

The only downside is the flow of tourists, 30 minutes on the island.
It is not possible to stroll and enjoy the heavenly setting, the path is marked to avoid, I think, the destruction of the site

Maya bay remains beautiful.
I visited on a low tide day.
The weather was great and took great pictures.
We cannot swim there and we are watched by beach security guards if we cross the permitted area for pictures.
The toilets were extremely dirty, with no water and it’s super overcrowded nowadays due to the large amount of visits.

Beautiful Beach with white sand that looks like flour on your feet. You have to be lucky to not have too many people at the beach with you. It is better when you go in the morning before 11 am. You are not allowed to swim, but you can dip your feet in the water. Lovely, but not a must see.

I took the “early bird” tour from 6:30am to 10:00am (half day tour) to see Maya Bay and it was a good decision, i think we were the first group to arrive
It’s beautiful I could expect it would get super packed during the day

Maya Bay in Thailand is a breathtaking slice of paradise. The crystal-clear turquoise waters, pristine white sands, and towering limestone cliffs create a stunning landscape that captivates the senses. However, due to its popularity, the bay can get overcrowded with tourists, dampening the tranquil experience. To fully appreciate its beauty, it's best to visit early in the morning or during the off-peak season. Snorkeling in the vibrant marine life is a must, revealing an underwater wonderland. Despite the recent efforts to restore its natural beauty, some parts of the coral reef remain damaged. Overall, Maya Bay's allure is undeniable, but preserving its fragile ecosystem is crucial for future generations to cherish its magnificence.

Maya bay is white sand beach, quite beautiful. You get only 40 mins to stay here if you are traveling with a group through a speed boat. You cannot go into water , it's not allowed. You can only take photos on the beach. You get very limited time so I suggest to keep your camera aside for 10 min and admire the nature.
Don't miss this spot. It's a paradise.

Maya Bay is a breathtaking slice of paradise nestled in Thailand's Phi Phi Islands, offering a mesmerizing blend of natural beauty and a dash of adventure. The moment you step onto the soft sands of Maya Bay, you're greeted by the crystal-clear turquoise waters that gently lap against the shore, creating a postcard-perfect scene that feels straight out of a dream.
The beach itself boasts some of the softest sands I've ever felt beneath my feet, making every step a delight. However, it's important to note that due to the presence of sharks, swimming in the waters of Maya Bay is restricted. While this may come as a disappointment to some, it adds a unique sense of intrigue and adventure to the experience.
One thing to keep in mind is the timing of your visit. Avoiding the peak hours, particularly around noon, is highly recommended. The beach tends to get crowded during this time, which can detract from the serene ambiance and limit your ability to fully enjoy the surroundings.
For those seeking a more intimate and tranquil experience, I suggest arriving early in the morning, around 7 am. Not only will you beat the crowds, but you may also be treated to a special sight – baby sharks gracefully gliding through the shallow waters. Witnessing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that adds an extra layer of magic to your visit.
Overall, Maya Bay is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. With its stunning beauty, soft sands, and the occasional glimpse of marine life, it's a place that will leave you enchanted and longing to return. Just be sure to plan your visit wisely to make the most of this idyllic paradise.

Maya Bay has crystal clear waters, beautiful landscapes and picturesque views. It is well worth the visit!
Due to the damaged ecosystem, tourists are not permitted to enter the water for swimming, boating or any other activities. This is to protect the corals and baby sharks that have returned to the bay since it was closed to the public.

We arrived around 9 am with our tour, a strategic time to beat the crowds that arrives from 10 am onwards. This beach has one of the most stunning views, with crystal-clear water and exceptionally soft sand. By walking towards the right side of the beach you might be able to see some little sharks.
It's undeniably a must-see destination. Recently reopened after a closure of three and a half years, the place now operates with added restrictions. I believe these measures are essential in preserving this little paradise.

Heaven on earth!
I’m glad that Maya bay today has been recovered from the tourists after being closed for quite a while. I remember visiting the place a decade ago with literally no spaces left on the beach as they’re full with tourists, long-tailed boats or even bigger ones like speed boats. Now there’s only a view of the turquoise water and the white sand for everyone to enjoy. (Saw on the news, it was a big success for them to finally witness a shiver of sharks visiting the area lately.)
Maya did soothe my heart. It was a fantastic experience.

The Emerald Pool is a mineral lake in a lush forest, which is a popular swimming spot. A wooden walking track leads visitors on an 800m - 1400m walk through the serene forest to reach the pool. The walk offers scenic views of waterfalls and the sounds of birds and insects, making it therapeutic for nature lovers. The natural pool has dark cyan coloured water that comes from trapped rocks beneath its surface. Swimmers are allowed to dip into the pool wearing swimsuits only.
absolutely beautiful place that really makes you appreciate nature. was pretty crowded but was still able to really appreciate the beauty of the pool. definitely a must see while you’re in krabi!
would definitely recommend trying the nature walk while you’re there — peaceful and you get to see a lot more!

Beautiful emerald pool with swimming facilities and hot streams.
You can enjoy a swim in this pool by yourself or with your family, kids also absolutely love it.
You can relax in the shade of the trees nearby. There are changing rooms, bathrooms and snack bars nearby.
We absolutely loved it and had a great time.
You should definitely make time to visit this place, you will not regret it.
Hope this helps 🙏

FREEDOM FOR CATS. The temperature of the water was around 30 degrees, it was not too hot like the other pools. I am 1.55 meters tall and my feet were touching the ground. There are toilets and showers (you can also use them as a closed dressing cabin). Swimming was very nice. They had locked 4 leopard cats in a cage. please leave them back

A beautiful, serene place worth a visit. We enjoyed a 800m - 1400m walk into the forest to witness the emerald pool. The walk itself was scenic and therapeutic; we witnessed calming waterfalls, sounds of birds and insects and nature. The emerald pool is all natural with beautiful dark cyan coloured water that comes from trapped rocks underneath the surface. You’re free to dip in the pool as long as you have a swimsuit. It’s recommended to visit earlier in the morning rather than later in the afternoon as it closes at 16:30 pm. Do note that there is a 20 baht entry fee for Thai adults, while foreigners will be charged more. Other than that the public sanctuary also has a bird observing attraction worth a visit.

If you see a scene like this, will you keep quiet without splash into the water? Just with 200 bath to enter this national park, you can see an emerald pool in conservation area. With a lot of wild plant and animal.
Natural atmosphere accompanied me through the trail to the emerald pool. Birds and forest song blends beautifully with the sound of the river around it. Various kind of flowing water, some are through shallow pools, deep and areas, also ripples from river flow contours.
Some parts beside the emerald pool are slippery because of moss. While the bottom of the pool is sandy which will become cloudy if there is too much turmoil in the water. The rest of the pool is clear with the nature temperature. Make sure you don't bring any food and all kinds of soap. It seems the prohibited is a management effort to maintain the naturalness and cleanliness of this area. Must see while you’re in Krabi!

We decided to drive to Emerald pool via motorbike which took us 1 hr 30 mins. As per our research this place gets very crowded mid morning so we decided to leave earlier and got to this gem at 9am. We were a bit skeptical in the beginning as we were 1 out of 3 small groups there. At one point we had the pool to ourselves. By the time we left(10am) we saw 3 huge tour busses and 5 vans full of tourist arriving. We were super relieved with our decision. So if you ever decide to go, make sure to arrive before 10am! We managed to visit all three pools (Crystal, Emerald, and the blue lagoon). Note that you can only swim in the Emerald pool. It was super clean and clear. I recommend to bring aqua shoes, mosquito spray as you’ll be walking through hungry mosquitoes! And of course a towel. Swimming is a must! The water was very refreshing on a hot day. Entrance fee has been increased to 400 baht for tourists. Please note that they don’t accept card and toilets are 5-10 baht.

400 baht entry + expensive transport for a ‘natural’ pool. In my opinion not worth the visit, if you have extra time and money it is not bad. The pools and area are really beautiful, but I can imagine that different spots show the same beauty for a different price. Nice to have seen, will not come back.

a beautiful place where you can swim in a natural pool. The water has an emerald green color, hence the name Emerald Pool. The natural pool is surrounded by a lush jungle. Through the jungle run small streams that come together and the Emerald Pool is the wonderful result of this! Closes at 4:30pm. Better to visit emerald pool first then go to hot spring.

This was a fun experience for everybody. It was a nice walk and a nice place to visit. It was fun to swim there. The grounds are very well-maintained. Everything is nice and organized and the people were friendly. The scenery was beautiful. We had a great time and we would definitely return again. There are also vendors there you can get food and drinks. A very fun time for everyone. The water was very nice. The temperature was good and it was very clean.
I definitely recommend for people to take their families to this place. Go early and spend the whole day. There is no place to lock up your stuff. So leave your valuables in the car bring comfortable shoes and towels there are bathrooms and places to change your clothes . But you have things to see here. It’s a very nice tourist destination.

A wonderful quiet piece of Earth's paradise. The emerald pool is clean and well maintained. There aren't many tourists during Covid, and a beautiful walk through the forest leads you to the final location, which features a wonderful blue-colored pool. If you're tired of going to the beach, this is a must-see :)

400TB per adult which I feel is expensive for what it is.
The walk through the jungle was fine and the pool itself is lovely and great for a swim, and has some fish in there. We walked to the Blue Lagoon but for us it wasn't worth the walk, was a smaller blue pool of water that you can't swim in.
We went early in the morning and were the only one in the pool for some time which was nice.
Was nice to see the emerald pool but unsure if it's worth £20.

There 3 natural pools. Crystal, Emerald and Blue. There are two paths. Better to take the nature trail which passes through the jungle. Out of these 3 pools you are allowed to swim in the Emerald pool only. My suggestion will be to see the Blue pool first and while coming down do swim in the Emerald pool.

Beautiful park with lots of well curated trails. The main areas then to be overwhelmed with tourists and large groups. The hike is a little longer than expected. It's not for the faint of heart. Many of the paths didn't have hand rail in place. This created a bit of a hazard, IMO. However, it also adds to the experience.

When in Krabi, you have to come see this natural phenomenon at the Emerald Pool. It is actually the last stop and is not a loop, so it is quite some walking to get there, but it is worth it! You cannot swim at the Emerald Pool itself, but you can at the other natural pool near the entrance.

One of the many touristy locations in Krabi, while the spot is good & well maintained its very crowded. Need to walk around 1 km from the entrance but the way through is pleasant. The only issue is it's far away from any other location & easily a half day tour. Unless you desperately want to tick your checklist it can be skipped

It's a beautiful place with crystal clear waters.
There are a few short nature trails. And you can also walk up to blue pool, in which you cannot swim.
Swimming in Emerald pool was very pleasant, and it is very picturesque.
That being said, I do not think that it is worth the entrance fee and the cost of the journey there.
If you love short nature walks and love looking at clear water, I can still say that it may be worth a visit. Go early as the crowd later in the day gets pretty crazy.
But if you're hesitant about it, I would say to give it a miss.

Nice place, there's a small stream of hot water, and a the same for cold water. The water is clear, but the staff is very restricting - no jumping (even when I held my kid and threw her), they also asked that the kids don't climb the trees... and I felt uncomfortable with them watching all the time.
Honestly, not worth the price of entry, in my opinion (400 adults, 200 kids). No outside food allowed.

A bit crowded but definitely worth the experience. Out of nowhere a butterfly came and landed on my chin while in the Emerald pool. The waters were clean and crystal clear. Phi Phi Viewpoint 3 is a popular spot on the island, offering breathtaking panoramic views and a charming café. The ascent to the viewpoint is a challenging but rewarding 20-30 minute hike up steep steps and narrow paths. Visitors are advised to take breaks and stay hydrated during the climb. Once at the top, hikers are treated to stunning vistas of Phi Phi Don's lush mountains.
Pretty solid as far as viewpoints go. I navigated here by just following the path on Google maps, you have to go past a few dodgy-looking dogs and a goat but just keep faith with the map and it’s all good. There are loads of helpful signs too. 20 baht entrance fee which she takes off a drink if you buy one.

Great view point with an incredible view of the sunset.
It’s a very popular spot, especially during sunset, but there is plenty of room for everyone with some seating area as well.
There is a small entry fee, I think it was 50 baht, and they also sold cold drinks as well (no alcohol).
The walk is steep but very doable if you have even mild fitness.
The way down at night, there are tons of bugs. They didn’t appear to be biting, just present with the lights along the path.
We ended up doing all 4 in one day, with 1, 2, and 3 all in line.

Wonderful place to see the island from the top.
It was my second time in Phi Phi and I couldn't leave not seeing this place from the top again.
(you can never get bored seeing a great view like that!)
The only point that drops down a bit is the access information...
There is faster and easier access to stars straight to the top having a break in viewpoint 2, which is also astonishing, making the whole experience more enjoyable.
Otherwise, you would have to prepare yourself for a long walk on a huge hill around the island to get to your final destination.
In any situation, anybody wouldn't have a word to say after facing the amazing view on top of the mountain.

Great views over Phi Phi! From viewpoint 2 to 3 its a bit of a trek through the jungle, I did it in flip flops but would have preffered trainers. No one was there at point 3 apart from a few monkeys in the tree that left me alone. Felt like you were in the top of the trees.

The view is superb from here, you can see the whole island and the viewing platform can fit a bunch of people. The main disadvantage is the way up there. It is a steep climb, but the main issue is that it is littered all the way up, which takes a lot away from the beauty of the island.

They have some hammocks you can rest in. The view of phi phi is great! Beware of the monkeys while you are there and do not feed them. You can fly drones here as well.

Probably the best viewpoint. You can reach it in 20 minutes from the main harbour or in 1 1 hour from the village where SAii Resort is located. You just need to pay 20 baht since the viewpoint is a private property made avaible from a local family. The elevated vantage point offers a picturesque panorama. The initial segment of the pathway is well-paved, gradually transitioning into a more robust composition of hardened clay and gravel. Hands down, One of the best beaches I have ever experienced. Photos doesnt do justice. Have to experience it for real. About 15-20 mins walk from Sand Sea Resort, but mostly are shaded areas
If you are sun or photo-sensitive (especially for kids), can swim to the area nearby the cliff/cave to avoid being fried up. Otherwise if you enjoy the sun, can always swim at the open area:
Pristine, crystal clear waters and finely granulated sands which are friendly to your feet. Got schools of fish too, small and large. Ideal for snorkelling.
Please do not miss this beach if you are ever in Railay. Wonderful experience.

Here you will get 40-45 minutes to visit the place but here we can spend the complete day with the beauty of nature.
Must place to visit!!!!!!!!

We rented two kayaks at Railay beach and kayaked over here. It was an incredible experience, crystal clear waters and the massive rock formations towering over the surface of the sea.
We also kayaked through a couple of caves and ended up at the beach.
This is one of the most spectacular spots in Thailand and I highly recommend visiting if you have time.

Amazing beach! The sea is transparent and clean. This shames Railay west beach where the majority of the tourist head....

Safe to swim with kids!
Gorgeous, calm, and so safe to take your little ones to. Gets quite crowded during the holidays, but not overcrowded. Great vibe, Super relaxing. Must visit with a group!

Spectacular and beautiful beach, cave and rocky Island. It is a very busy place, so I recommend to go during the morning. Be careful if you go into the water because many sharp rocks. From there, take the walking trail that bring you on the others side.. you won’t regret it
Bleuet T — Google review
This beach was the best one in the area. I recommend going there and spend the whole day. The reason for that is that the water goes down during the day until late afternoon. You will see how the beach changes through the day and it’s beautiful. The way to the beach is quite easy and there is a lot of infrastructure for tourists, including bathrooms, kayaking, restaurants and a kiosk. You will be able to walk to the beach in front after 15:00 ~ 16:00 pm.

One of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I love how this beach is secluded and more difficult to get to, which prevents crowds. The limestone cliffs surrounding this beach make it a truly surreal and amazing experience. Highly recommend!

Awesome beach. Beautiful fine sand and lovely water. Sheltered in a bay so no big waves really to be concerned about and a great place to either sunbathe or swim. Sunsets are beautiful. Well worth the visit.
Andrew “Andy” Davis — Google review
Beautiful. A must see if in the region. We took a kayak for 200THB per hour, and drifted round the mountains through to the beach from Railay. We'll worth visiting.
The Travelling Owl — Google review
I've been staying on Railay for many years and this is always my favourite beach. The cliffs at each end are stunning as well as the clear blue waters. It's great here because there are no longer boats allowed in the area so it's a quiet tranquil beach. Unfortunately there are no food and beverage establishments on this beach so best bring your own drink and snacks. Of the rite aid beaches this one is the best during low tide because the water is still deep enough to swim near the beach.
Joey B — Google review
If you bring your own drinks and food, I highly recommend this beach over the other two options. It offers a more serene and stunning environment, with fewer crowds. Depending on the time of day, you can enjoy walking or swimming to the nearby little island. Additionally, there are charming caves to explore, adding to the overall adventure. However, it is important to exercise caution with the monkeys. When food is left unattended, they can become quite bold and aggressive. It's best to keep a distance and not engage with them as they prioritize their quest for food.
Mo Jongenburger — Google review
The most beautiful beach I have ever been on. Water was warm. Fish were nibbling me. A swimming crab came and sat on my arm for a rest. I could sit there for hours just looking at the sea stacks and cliffs

Highly recommended when you are at Railey.
Do not miss out on this beach when you are at Railey. Beautiful and clean beach even though there are quite a lot of people. If you want a quieter beach spot to rest, you have to brave the wave to walk to another side of the beach. Not too hard to walk over, but when the waves are strong it will be a little difficult.
Best spot to watch sunset as well.
Jennie Chan — Google review
Probably the most beautiful beach I have had the pleasure of walking on. The water is warm and clear and calm. Unlike other beaches in the area it is swimmable even at low tide It's almost deserted before 10:00 and after 18:00. No boats!
Bill Quarre — Google review
Beautiful beach but sometimes a little bit crowded!
Fantastic nature, climbing rocks and clear water 😍
Chris Z — Google review
It was one of the most beautiful beaches I have been to. We were on our Four Island trip and our ultimate destination was Phra Nang beach. The Cave beach is surrounded by hills in a remote island on Gulf of Thailand. The place was secluded, quaint and peaceful. We also watched the sunset from there. The experience was marvelous.
Piuli Basu Roy Chowdhury — Google review
Less than 10 minutes away from Railay Beach via a cute path, where, if lucky, you might spot monkeys climbing trees and walls.
The landscape is breathtaking, featuring a long sandy beach. I recommend walking and settling towards the middle or end for a more serene atmosphere with fewer people around. There are plenty of spots to capture, and while you're there, you can also explore the Princess Cave at the entrance, although in my opinion it might not be particularly special.
Alain Bart — Google review
Came here twice. Very clear water & good for snorkeling. You can see fish & corals if you choose the right spots. Can walk to the cliff in the sea on low tide and see a lot of corals.
Aris Pull — Google review
Phra Nang Beach is no more than 800 meters long. The beach is beautifully situated. At high tide it becomes quite narrow, especially in the middle part. The sand on the beach is very fine. Conditions for swimming are very good (snorkeling is good). "Long boats" are parked mainly in the middle part of the beach. In high season the beach is very crowded. Paid showers and toilets are available at the entrance to the beach, close to the Princess Cave.
In my opinion, Phra Nang Beach is a nice beach, worth visiting. Tourists who have not seen other beaches in Thailand will be delighted with it.
Mariusz Malec — Google review
Phra Nang Cave Beach is absolutely beautiful! The clear blue waters, soft sandy beaches, and impressive cliffs make for a picturesque scene.
Railay Beach, accessible only by boat, is a stunning peninsula known for its towering limestone cliffs and picturesque beaches. It's a popular destination for rock climbing and diving enthusiasts. The area offers a range of activities such as island hopping on longtail boats to nearby famous islands like James Bond Island and Maya Bay. Visitors can also explore the Krabi Fossilized Shellfish Cemetery, one of only three in the world, to see millions of years old fossils.
Very nice beach with a lot of tourists while the daytime. Try to be early or late there. A boat trip from the city costs 200 baht for one person. I can recommend the sunset there!

Very beautiful.
Bit overcrowded & over-expensive / But everyone is very nice.
The eastern side with cheaper accommodation doesn’t have a great beach, is kind of dirty with trash & has giant jellyfish.
Phra Nang beach, a 20 min walk is very pretty.
Everything is walkable - there’s no roads, it’s just a path from one end to the other. Many restaurants - selling from healthy food, coffee, weed & mushrooms (be aware there’s a lot on the island!), bars & resorts.
100 (x2) baht trail boat from Ao Nang (ask for return ticket also) - if not you can just pay the guy when you leave.
Beware of monkeys! They will steal your food and aren’t afraid to do it.
Gabriel Boivin — Google review
Railay beach used to have a reputation as a hippie enclave and you can still feel some of that history in the beach community.
Beautiful sunset view, adventurous ride in and out, monkeys, caves, and climbing.
A great beach for your more adventurous travelers.
Duncan Michael MacVean — Google review
Beautiful place but you have to block out the hoards of people and garbage piled up all over the beach and resort areas. The trash was really appalling. Really I’d give this place 3.5 stars.
Pros: we loved the lagoon hike and it’s definitely challenging! We enjoyed the epic sci-fi looking “floating” islands and swimming at the beach. I would have enjoyed rock climbing if I had time. The caves are quite nice too. The giant pile of phallic statues is hilarious. We took a boat to Ao Nang and rented a Moped and drove an hour and a half to emerald pool which was a very fun day.
Kelli Jean — Google review
Stunning beach with 2 parts to explore. You can see monkeys so hold on to your belongings! Great place to sunbathe, find shells and also get food. Lovely little street with small food places and shops. The other side of the island has a beach with caves and amazing rock formations where you can do rock climbing. Fun boat ride to the beach too!
Chloe — Google review
Rare mixture of cliffs and caves along beautiful beaches. So called east beach is in very bad shape though. Carribbean style walking street and bars next to fancy hotels. Reptiles and monkeys free bonus.😅

Very nice beach, full of restaurants and bars. Good vegeterian and vegan choices, you can arrive only by boat and the last boat is 5.30pm
Ludovica Andreotti — Google review
Beautiful beach and wish we’d spent longer here! Definitely worth going for the sunsets and the music playing at the bars really fits the vibe! The only thing to be careful of are the men who take you on the boats as a group of us got ripped off. We were told after 7pm there is a extra fee so we asked to leave at 6:50pm and they refused unless we paid the fee even though most of us didn’t have cash! It got very spiteful so just bare this in mind.

First time here and we walked till the other end and found tew lay bar
You could tour most of the places in a days but still recommend to stay overnight here to get the night and peaceful beach views. Last boat to leave Railay beach is 6pm. Don’t miss you boat.
The diamond cave would need some fee to enter.
You will need to climb the cliff for Another viewpoint and lagoon.
Towards the other end, you will find Princess cave and swimming areas. The command toilet will need to pay for a fee for usage.

Overall it’s worth checking out if you have time. 200baht for the boat across, stunning scenery along the way.
Lots of restaurants, bars and dispensaries here. Lots of monkeys be aware don’t miss the cut off time if it’s just a day trip.
Absolutely stunning place, they have a pier on the opposite side we come during low tide it was ok.
Definitely worth a trip over

If you come to Krabi must visit Railay Beach. We take the long tail boat from Ao Nang to Railay. 100🐷 per person one way. Many shop and restaurant There. Also the view point and the lagoon on the top. A little hard to climb up but worth to try. Don't forget to bring sports shoes with you.

This is probably the most iconic beach in this part of Thailand. Easy and cheap to get to by boat and definitely well worth the visit.
The area is extensive and there are plenty of restaurants catering to all tastes and budgets.
I would highly recommend hiring kayaks and taking them out in the ocean to explore the nearby caves and stunning rock formations. There are also rock climbing opportunities on the island.

One of my favorite places to visit when I’m in Krabi, Thailand. Such a beautiful secluded spot with two amazing beaches lined with limestone cliffs. Lots of rock climbing also available here as well but I just love the avatar like feel this place has.

Beautiful place but be careful with mafia type agencies, selling all included private transport then when off the beach and in Krabi they put you on shared minibuses! Having being caught out our family of 5 paid a lot of money to find shared transport which took over double the time. Get your receipt written in English not Thai!

Second time going to this beach, first time being in 2015. Didn't change much, except more people going there, but still not too crowded. The beach there is really nice, water is clear and warm. You can reach Railay Beach by taking a tail boat from Ao Nang Beach. Recommended
Philippe Lefevre — Google review
Busy, noisy but visually it was beautiful.
It’s a must do visit for Krabi visitors and we went to see it (like everyone else). It looked very stunning as a photo opportunity because it is in a cove and has the high cliffs.
Railay beach felt more of a tourist resort (granted we were tourists) and less Thai authentic than some other areas we have visited.
I wouldn’t go back if I stayed in this area again.
Oli Watherston — Google review
Glad we made the decision to stay at a resort on this beach. The view is stunning, surrounded by amazing scenery. Mornings are especially beautiful with a tranquil atmosphere—no people or boats around. Even during the day and sunset, it wasn’t as crowded as we anticipated. The walking street is very, lined with numerous shops and restaurants. Hopefully, we’ll be back soon!

Beautiful as ever but be aware there is a jellyfish plague ongoing all over Krabi beaches. People do currently not swim. Even though we didn’t find any yet there are deadly boxed jellyfish around. Be extremely careful.

Ao Nang Beach is a bustling and popular destination in Krabi province, known for its scenic views of mountains and boats on the horizon. Once a fishing village, it now offers numerous restaurants, bars, and accommodations to suit every budget. The 1km-long stretch of soft sand is lined with colorful longtail boats and overlooked by famous limestone cliffs, making it an Instagram-worthy paradise. Visitors can enjoy activities such as rock climbing, kayaking, spa treatments, or simply relaxing in hammocks.
Very nice beach off the small town but still very close.

The landscape is amazing but unfortunately there are roaring long boats all the time that keep going back and forth emitting very nasty smocks 💨
The water usually is nice and clean, very shallow and calm. Very good for sunset 🌅
I don't advise to go swimming that much since long boat risk to run over you 🥲 ... also not good for snorkelling 🤿

Beautiful beach of Krabi nearer to the market and lots of hotels and resorts. The beach is long, very picturesque and one can spend a lot of time here with family. Great beach ⛱️ with awesome night market ❤️ at walking distance. At beach there is a free fire 🔥 show, you can tip as per your wish at the end of the show to the artists. Long boats 🚢 are available if you want a tour from here. Also there are several tours like 7 island tour etc. which you can book from beach side shops. Sea 🌊 shore is good for kids also as slope is very slow. Several restaurants with multiple cuisines like thai, mexican indian etc. are at walking distance. So many hotels are available nearby beacah itself. Cannabis shops are also at the beach side walkway if you want to go High 🤸.

A very nice beach, with beautiful surroundings. But there are not so nice things too: the sewage water which in two places directly flows in the sea. For this reason I think it’s better to swim on Railay beach.

Its quite long beach and the main point for watching the sunset, walk, sit and relax, etc. It’s also where all taxi boats run from, so I don’t find the beach and the water clean enough. But the rock formations and the view to the other islands is beautiful.

Ao Nang Beach is a picturesque destination that has earned a solid 4-star rating from me.
The beach's scenic beauty is truly captivating, with its soft sands and crystal-clear waters creating a mesmerizing backdrop for visitors to enjoy. The cleanliness of the beach is commendable, making it a pleasant environment for all to relish.
While the beach is undoubtedly a popular spot, it can get quite busy, especially during peak times. This may not be the best choice for those seeking a quiet and secluded spot for relaxation and sunbathing. However, it's perfect for a quick dip or a leisurely walk along the shoreline with friends.
One of the highlights of Ao Nang Beach is its stunning sunsets, providing a magnificent view that is a must-see for any visitor. Additionally, the beach comes alive in the evenings with various activities and entertainment, making it an exciting spot to spend time with friends and loved ones.
In conclusion, Ao Nang Beach offers a scenic and lively experience, making it an ideal destination for a quick dip, leisurely strolls, and witnessing beautiful sunsets. While it may get busy, the beach's charm and vibrant atmosphere more than compensate for it, creating a memorable beach experience.
Hope this helps 🙏

Nice beach at Ao Nang. It's the main beach in town and the easiest accessible beach. It's also the beach from which you depart to Railay Beach. The vibe here is nice, especially during sunset! The Big Buddha in Phuket is a 45-meter-tall marble statue located on Nakkerd Hills, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the island. Positioned between Chalong and Kuta Beach, this revered spot provides a 360-degree view of Phuket Town, Kata Bay, and Karon Bay. The grand statue is made from reinforced concrete and Burmese white jade marble atop a 25-meter base.
If you happen to be in PHUKET then Big Buddha visit is must. It's not about religion but about place to cherish for life. At this place the view of the city is just astounding. We were there on a sunny day and the entire city view was just mind-blowing. I would definitely recommend it to be part of you city tour. Place has a different charm and you feel calm with the entire surrounding. If you are spiritual (which I am not) then you would love to spend longer time at this place.
Enjoy your visit to Big Buddha and please share your experience....

This is a cool place with a great view! Annoyingly people fly drones around which spoils the atmosphere. But if you at sunset you can see it in the day and then lit up at night which is beautiful. There is nothing inside, but you can walk around and there are meditation spaces too. They have a dress code of shoulders, belly and knees covered so make sure you’re dressed appropriately. The views over the bay are wonderful too. I recommend spending about 15 min here.

LADIES, TAKE A SHAWL AND A LONG SKIRT OR TROUSERS TO YOUR ANKLES to cover all your skin.
Me and my brother hiked 3 hours to get to The Big Buddha. We managed to make it to the bottom of the hill until we had to call a taxi to take us to the top. The hill is very steep and would take a very long time to walk up. Alternatively, you can also take a quad bike up the hill as well. You also pass a tiger park on the way up which allows you to touch the tigers.
The view from the top of the mountain was gorgeous, but the clothing standards for women is very strict. LADIES, TAKE A SHAWL AND A LONG SKIRT OR TROUSERS TO YOUR ANKLES to cover all your skin. Otherwise they will make you buy a substitute. This clothing standard does not apply to men. You can get blessed by a monk and there are special places for people to sit and mediate. It was a centring experience despite there being many tourists.

After a long hike (or a quick buggy/motorbike/car ride), which takes you along a windy uphill road, bringing you along cafes with incredible views, you arrive at the Big Buddha. Climb some more steps to get to the top - and you’re there. The statue is much bigger than expected and is fascinating to look at. There are several interesting signs that explain the history of it, provide background facts, more signs that tell you about Buddhism etc. So if you’re in for it, you can even learn something while you’re here. Descending again, you’re led through a prayer room where monks offer a sit down praying session for free. Outside, there’s also a 7-minute meditation session. Really enjoyed all of it. Views are incredible on a sunny and clear day.

Very very beautiful temple. Lot to see.
I noticed that not many people don't know the dressing rules. But hope they learn.
You can fly your drone here, there are specific rules on the gate and green signs where you can set up your drone. Be careful and remember the fly time is 10-15 minutes. Do not fly near any Statue nor people. Enjoy!!
- Parking area might be full time to time so then it's very difficult to find car park. Motorbikes have designated area.

It's a nice place to look at scenery from but it's half-finished, probably due to COVID-19, so lots of rough edges. Quite literally in fact for the steps and pathways which are still rocky and jagged in places.
I think the sculptor didn't quite get the face of Buddha right though cos he has a quirky expression on his face that you won't find anywhere else in the world. Probably worth seeing just for that, I suppose.

Get blessings from the monk, make donations, send blessing and requests… other than all the Buddhism goodness, it is quite cooling in shaded areas as it’s on a mountain top.
Although parts of the Big Buddha is still under restoration work, it’s the best time to donate and add a marble tile, I’ve made wishes in 2019 and life has been much better even during COViD period. Now I’m back for thanksgiving and to strengthen the faith. Though I’m non-Buddhist.
The viewpoint here of all the island … is amazing!!! Very nice for photo taking too!!!

We attended in low season and it was raining so we did not get the viewings but big Buddha is stunning and impressive nonetheless. It’s free to visit (I know some tours say access to big Buddha is included in their price which is cheeky of them).
The only thing that stops it being a five is the lack of information or history to read. We did not have a guide and they didn’t offer a guided tour on site. We googled in the hotel later.
Apparently there are “bad monkeys” here which still but we did not see any. Perhaps because it was raining.

Big Buddha Phuket is an absolute gem, especially at sunset - the sight is breathtaking! It's a serene and peaceful spot, ideal for spending quality time. Proper attire is a must, but ladies can rent appropriate dresses on-site. Surprisingly, there's no entry fee, making it accessible for all to enjoy this remarkable site.

Views were beautiful, the surroundings around Buddha wasn't perfect, many constructions, but it's fine.
Free entrance, free toilets.
A lot of monkeys around. Be aware of them, instantly snatch any food or drink you have.
Be aware of taxi mafia, we came up with inDrive (taxi app) for 200 baht, but couldn't find anything who would bring us back down (taxis can't come there, only the local ones), the ones at the place asks 800baht to get you to old town. 😂 we ended up going down the mountain 2km by foot thought forest.

This is a beautiful religious temple so please be respectful of the dress code before you come and enjoy this spiritual place. The views of the bay and surrounding area are spectacular. Please be aware of the monkeys as they are aggressive and will steal anything you are not holding on to. They are fun to watch.

Arriving at the Big Buddha on a bike was already a delightful experience for me. The winding road leading to the Buddha was incredibly scenic, surrounded by lush trees, and offered glimpses of monkeys and elephants available for rides at a fee offered by locals. There's ample parking near the Big Buddha. I rate the panoramic view of Phuket from the Big Buddha site as the highest highlight. The view is truly mesmerizing, providing a sweeping sight of almost the entire island. However, one downside is the evident need for some restoration in certain areas; many sculptures seem old and in need of care.

One place you definitely should not miss seeing, it was so peaceful and beautiful to see the Big Buddha and sit meditate for a bit. The chants playing in the background while walking around were soothing to your core. Am so glad we went with the family.
Only regret is our elderly parents could not witness what I did as they couldn’t climb up the many steps and no other facilities for them to get up there.

A must visit when visiting to Phuket. It has such good vibes and peace there. The location is at an high altitude and the whole city can be seen from there. There are breathtaking views along with constant breeze. The architecture of it is also great with whole white finish marble. There are multiple small shops, places along with itself.

This is a cool place with a great view. Best place to watch sunset. There is nothing inside, but you can walk around and there are meditation spaces too. They have a dress code of shoulders, belly and knees covered so make sure you’re dressed appropriately. The views over the bay are wonderful too. I recommend this place in Phuket.

The Big Buddha is impressive in size, with wonderful views from the observation deck. Parking and toilets are free. There are several stalls with drinks, and even clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered. You can also buy a skirt and a scarf on your shoulders there for 100-150 baht.

Is so amazing place is only restricted so cannot go with shirts ,bikini or empty arms . All bidy need have full t-shirt👕 , long shorts or full skirts or dress hide all body. Is security guard there they check people what they wear. People with don't respected this restriction don't be let in

Our trip to the Big Buddha was stunning! The attraction was not just for Buddhists but a serene and breathtaking view, whether you were looking at the Buddha or away from it.
There were interesting quotes from well known persons and under the Big Buddha, there was a temple filled with various representations of Buddha.
It is a bit of a drive from Phuket, so best to engage the services of a dedicated driver.
Also dress conservatively otherwise the security will not all allow access.

It is a wonderful place to explore. You can get a view of the entire city from the top. I would recommend opting the ATV tour to the big Buddha temple where you can drive along with a captain who would assist you and get back. Overall it’s an hour trip. It’s get slightly crowded but since the place is wide spread you wouldn’t feel the congestion.

Great place to have a view of the island as well as to watch the sunset. I recommend riding your bike to the top of the hill since it is the most convenient way and the daily rent of a bike is cheaper than taking a taxi both ways.

Must visit place! Fantastic view!
You can meditate there with an instructor.
Get 3 scents by donating and make a wish!
You can go see a monk get blessed and get a wish bracelet!
A few monkeys up there, they are cute but be aware they can grab your staff :)

The Big Buddha is a must-see if you are visiting Phuket.
Even if you've seen other Buddhas around the world, this one offers amazing 360 views of the entire island and is stunning on a gorgeous day. There are picnic areas where you can bring your own food to enjoy the scenery. Please be respectful and avoid bringing alcohol.
There is no entrance fee. Because it's so touristy, it's not difficult to find a Grab to get you to your next destination.

Beautiful and calming place. We went up in the morning and it was very warm. We had a blessing from the monks. I enjoyed it very much. Then sat and ate an icecream while looking down on the monkeys playing in the trees. I took a set of clothes to cover while there ad you have to cover knees and shoulders. You can buy it up there but if your taking a bag then I suggest being prepared.

We had a wonderful experience visiting the Giant Buddha during our stay. We appreciated that it was a free activity. We bought a small marble and wrote a note to donate. Seeing the Buddha up close was breathtaking, allowing us to appreciate its size. Unfortunately, the sky wasn't clear when we visited, and it was boiling. However, the most remarkable part of our experience was meeting the monkeys!

The scenery below is spectacular. The huge gray-white Buddha statue is dazzlingly majestic. This is a place where you can enjoy truly beautiful scenery. It almost feels like flying. We rode up on our scooters. You can see elephants on the way up and there is also a nice cafe. When you arrive at the entrance, there is a parking lot and a place to sell souvenirs. I bought a hat at a good price here.
EUNSUNG M.KIM — Google review
The visit to big Buddha was easy and fast. We had a car so need to anyone. The driving is easy and short. Lots of people just admiring the site and views than the Buddha. It looks unfinished, lots of construction material around, the views are better from a lower point of the hill. All the same items sold everywhere you find it here. Maybe in 100 years time it would be more meaningful.
Nelson Castellanos — Google review
Must see place with beautiful views. No entrance fee- they should introduce one. We enjoyed our visit. Some irresponsible behaviour from visitor speaking Russian, who gave coke to the wild monkey just to have a laugh and take a video, disregarding sign not to feed the monkeys.
Urszula Jedrol — Google review
Free visit, all they ask is you respect their religion by covering from shoulders to knee's or just above. And now hats... not a big price to pay. You can climb to the top and walk around the big Buddha. And there's a few other small events also going on. One guy was doing 7 minutes of meditation, and there's a monk downstairs blessing people. Unfortunately, this costs, and there's no sign telling you so. Religion seems to come at a price with him. But for most of the location it is a wonderful visit with a couple of small shops where you can get refreshments and souvenirs. Oh, and there are wild monkeys. Don't wind them up, or tease them with food, because they will take it from you. And by whatever means necessary.

Very cool atmosphere but not for all, you should visit it at least once, as me, I have visited it for the first time, although I have been to Phuket for 4 times, a lot of bars, loud music, some prohibited and not prohibited entertainment, you can get what you want there, someone maybe goes here on purpose, not for children of course, but you can just show them what it is. I think you will be excited 😆. But very noisy and annoying people who try to sell you anything and offer some like massage with continuing… Thanks for reading my review 😊

I give it 5 stars just for the experience. Day time compared to night time is very different. At night it all comes to life. Everyone trying to get you to stop at their business. If you are with your partner it's not quite as bad but if your a man or group of men they definitely target you more. The bar staff try to get you to play games because if they win you have to buy them drinks but if you win they buy you one. But be prepared to play more than one girl as they line up. The bar we drank at had about 17 ladies working. I wouldn't recommend taking children up here as it's quite loud and can be a bit overwhelming. We were offered everything from cheap drinks to ping pong and sex shows and even cocaine. But you have to see it for the experience.

An interesting street to say the least! If you fancy a drink you won’t be more than a few steps from a bar. Almost a ghost town in the day but turn nighttime, you’ll be struggling to walk down the strip. A good laugh and a good variety of music/ events taking place.

This island, popularly known as "James Bond Island," provides visitors with the opportunity to shop, swim and explore caves that are visible at low tide. The island features two rock mountains that lay on top of each other, creating a picturesque angle for photography. Additionally, the surface of these rocks boast a unique texture which adds to its allure. This is the same location featured in James Bond movies. A small cave is also situated on this island offering a similar experience as seen in pictures.
The James Bond Island or Khao Phing Kan island was a really nice place to visit. Along with the James Bond rock in the middle of the sea, the island also has a leaning limestone rock which is a great photo spot. We also went inside the cave nearby and the view of the ocean through the cave windows. It is a must place to visit.

The island is very impressive, such a nice creation of nature. However, the beach around it could be improved.
If looking for a great picture, on the left side if the beach, there are some stairs to a better view point of the island. Take a shot from there.
Overall, great place to visit.

I must say that when we went here there were reviews that experience was underwhelming for few people but I politely disagree. The structure is the middle of the water looks amazing and looked so much better than what we saw in the movie
There are ample photo opportunities and you want to be careful while swimming in muddy water because of sea shells.
Must visit

James Bond island as it is known was a really tranquil experience. The views from the island really make you feel like you are in paradise. There are some toilets on the island, but don't expect them to be hotel quality.
There are also some shops on the island for souvenirs and refreshments, but you can expect to pay a premium for the convenience, so make sure you take enough refreshments with you.

The International Tsunami Museum is a place where people can learn about past tsunamis, the timeline of the disaster, and post-tsunami history. There are also exhibits and photos related to the 2004 tsunami in Thailand. The museum is open to the public and it is a great resource for anyone wanting to learn more about this devastating event.
Yo, so I totally got to check out the 813 ship that got hit by that crazy tsunami in Phang Nga, Khao Lak zone this morning. Bummer that the museum was closed, but guess what? I still snagged a pic with the 813 warship, the one that's all responsible for looking after Khun Phum Jensen's stuff. 📸🚢 #Adventures #813Ship #KhaoLakVibes

Lots of photos but feels a bit worn down. The picture on the TV on the upper floor is almost not visible and the audio is too low to hear anything. Not worth the 300 baht entrance fee. Go to the local guy behind near the boat instead, you can look at some photos for free and but a drink or a souvenir from the local shop

I went there because it is near my hostel. However, there aren't nothing much there.
But if you go there, you can read and see the 813 boat and some information.

Great place to visit. Even if it is very simple, visit this place to honor all People died over here is à must to do. To see this boat at 2km from the beach show the strength of the tsunami. In the movie, we see the boat jist before the wave.
Fabrice1973 — Google review
The actual please with the museum seems closed. There is a visitors center from a non-profit Organisation outside of the actual place, with photos and films about the tragedy. 300TBH entry per person, which is ok. Take some time to watch the documentaries at the first floor (there is a room for English and another for German). Then go out and check out the boat, which has been thrown inside the land 2km during the first two tsunami waves. Around the corner, there is a private shack, they have some additional photos in a photo-book. Those pictures might not be suitable for all audiences, some are hard to swallow. They don’t charge, but expect that you buy some souvenir or donate.

A little depressing, but worth a visit. Understand how high the wave was and what it caused. The name of the monument comes from the number of the patrol ship that washed ashore 2 km from the sea.

The Night Market Fishermans Village in Bophut, Koh Samui is a lively and popular attraction that comes alive every Friday evening. The charming beachside shopping street of Bophut offers a cool sea breeze, chic beachfront restaurants, and various shops. The night market adds to the upbeat vibe with its carnival-like atmosphere created by the bright network of vendors spread across the area.
Lively night market held four nights a week with a wide variety of vendors (clothing, jewelry, souvenirs, various goods), food and drink stands (cheap cocktails!) and live music. Enjoyed coming here while in Samui. Great for people watching.

Lovely market with nice souvenirs. Not open every day. Looks like it closes on weekends.
There is a food market with cheap food, but doesnt look safe. Food is not correctly refrigerated or stored. It is better to eat somewhere more expensive ( at 80-120 baht a thai dish) than eating here and risking food poisoning.
Only eat fresh food made from fruits or make sure to look where they store it.
Nicolas Muttoni — Google review
This is a crowded spot for tourists looking to try street food and shop for souvenirs. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the excitement and over buy. Don’t forget to convert from your currency to Thai baht so you will know how much you are actually spending and also be sure to bargain. The asking price is always too much and is negotiable. Try the street food. There were four of us who ate different things on two different occasions and none of us got sick. Just use common sense.

Strolling through the night market at Fisherman's Village is truly an enjoyable experience. The market is dotted with quaint stalls, perfect for picking up unique souvenirs. I'd suggest arriving a tad earlier to avoid the peak crowd and nearby traffic. While some spots provide parking for scooters or cars, it's generally laid-back. Feel free to park your scooter by the roadside without much fuss.

A busy night market, with lots of souvenirs, clothing, hand bags etc....plenty of food options there is something for everyone, my personal favourite Pad Thai, I tried it from 2 different vendors & both were delicious. Plenty of cocktails for 99baht, I had too many margaritas, awesome night with friends. Definitely worth s trip.😎
Markus H — Google review
A wonderful market, one of the best in Thailand. It is good because the variety and quantity of food allows you to enjoy something new every day. Today it's a vegetarian dinner, tomorrow it's an assortment of meat.
The market has 2 entrances - the one on the road side offers a row of stalls with cheaper food than the one closer to the beach.
The cocktail mafia has taken over almost all the tables, which is not normal even for such a popular island. To properly eat the food you bought, you have to spend time to find a table out of the many free tables, but one where you "can sit". So find a table first, then buy the food.
The second disadvantage of this market is the lack of a salad bar, nde you can assemble yourself a bowl with a variety of food. To collect a plate you need to spend time wading through the crowd. Therefore, you should come after 8 o'clock if you want to eat and enjoy the authentic atmosphere of the market.
The market also sells many fake items of famous brands of excellent quality, indistinguishable from the original.
The market is open on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, opening fully around 5pm.

A barrage of colour, smells, and sounds. The market is divided into two sections; merchandise and food.
There are many stalls selling an assortment of items from mundane to exotic (elephants carved out of coconuts?).
The food section gives one abundant opportunity to dive into the mysterious realm of street food. Abandon inhibitions and dive in! An tropical concoction is a must while examining the options.
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday starting around 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM or so. Friday's can be VERY busy.

Liked this market, can get really busy and the walking alley is really narrow but once you get past the initial stalls it is well spaced out by the time you get to the food market. I had one of the best Pad Thai here, not sure what the place is exactly called but hopefully this photo help. Also the lady selling home made coconut ice cream is worth a try, tasty and a generous portion.

Fantastic market. Live music, cocktail stands, soft drinks and as much street food as you can eat.. The pricing is fantastic and there are plenty of bargains to be had. Food prices non negotiable but clothing and souvenirs are all negotiable. Pair of trainers if at 1500bht they won’t let you walk away unless you’re dropping or trying to drop under 1000. I always use a rule of a third 1/3 of their starting price as what I want to take off their top price. To walk away costs nothing and you can always go back after a short period to buy anyway

Koh Samui's premier night market and it certainly gets pretty busy. It's a chilled atmosphere and pretty big however I found the food options, though varied, not of great quality. There was anything from sushi, to kebabs, to pasta, to seafood, to fruits, to desserts but most things didn't look all that appealing. The drink stands including the masses of cocktail stands, did a good trade with all the western tourists frequenting this market.
Very convenient market if you are staying in the Bo Phut area, else it's a dark ride home to the areas of Samui.
Khoi Pham — Google review
The stand with grilled pork neck, ribs, beef and chicken is my favorite. I recommend it to all meat lovers. You have to walk straight from the main road entrance almost until the end of the pathway. You’ll see a handsome young guy at the grill, right before the cocktail stands. It’s on the right side, there is only one shop with marinated shrimp after him.
Timofei Iasinskii — Google review
It's a very nice market to experience a lot of street food and even to buy souvenirs. The prices are high for souvenirs but with bargaining you will be able to get it very low. The market is not open every day, it's on alternate days. There are some shops which are open everyday but many small shops are temporarily set up for a day, so those ones keep moving. So try to visit this place on a market day.

It is the best place to spend time in the evening in Koh Samui without any doubt. It is 10 times better than Chaweng main street. It is one km long street which is a pedestrian zone. From whichever side you enter, you will find bars, restaurants, clothes and souvenir shops on both sides beside temporary stalls on the road selling cheap stuff. There are a lot of restaurants serving local and international cuisines. On weekends it's heavily crowded. It's full of life.

If you are like me you will love this night market! Find the stall with the crispy pork with the cracklin on and the shrimp donuts and the rolled ice cream and so much more. There are tables to sit at that you don’t have to buy a cocktail, you just have to ask 👍

Many options and the food I bought tasted actually quite good. My biggest complaint is that I couldn't even sit down to eat my food unless I buy an over-priced drink from the menu. Why is it compulsive to get a drink? Never had that terrible experience anywhere else in Thailand. Just annoying.

The renowned Phra Yai temple is home to an impressive Buddha statue that dates back to 1972. The grandiose gilded figure dominates the vibrant complex, attracting visitors from all over the world. The temple's Big Buddha is a significant religious and cultural symbol, representing Buddhist teachings and principles. A beautiful golden Buddha on the island. From there you also have a beautiful view and there are also a few restaurants in front of the temple. It is worth visiting the Buddah briefly, because it doesn't take much time to see everything. But as with all temples, you should think of long clothes.

It is one of the main attraction in Koh Samui. This beautiful 40 feet tall statue was built in 1972 on Koh Fan island which was attached to Koh Samui subsequently. Buddha is religious GOD of Thai culture. One should dress properly before visiting. A little respect is expected. If you sit quietly for few minutes then mind becomes very calm in this serene ambiance. In the afternoon the steps become very hot. There are quite a few souvenir and local food stalls nearby in the temple complex.
Not to be missed...

Nang Yuan Island, also known as Koh Nang Yuan, is a beautiful and picturesque island in Koh Tao that boasts a sandy beach and is popular for snorkeling and diving. The island is covered in lush foliage, with aquamarine waters and white sands that create a vibrant atmosphere. Visitors can hike to the top of the hill for panoramic views of this heavenly piece of land.
How to get to Koh Nang Yuan Viewpoint
The viewpoint on Koh Nang Yuan offers one of the most famous and photographed panoramas in Thailand.
Featured on postcards all over the world, it’s well worth taking the time to pay a visit and to try snorkeling and hike up to the viewpoint.

That is the one beautiful Island in the world, top 5 in Thailand, here include 3 small islands near each other. After ebb tide during 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. you will see sand road, walking path of each island. This is amazing!
Fredricksen — Google review
250baht fee entry, you are not allowed to go in with fins, also all corals are dead. There is just some small fishes and thats it.

Highly highly highly recommend this place for people to enjoy snorkeling without any diving or swimming knowledge. White sands, clear water with beautiful fishes and crabs in sight. It’s a short boat ride from Koh Tao to Koh Nang Yuan. You need to pay small entrance fee and no food or plastic is allowed. Island closes at 5, so be sure to go there early morning to spend the whole day. You can rent snorkeling equipment from there and enjoy. There are also hiking paths and places to view the islands from above.

( these photo were taken on April 7th) ⭐️⭐️I recommend you to book a trip to the island in advance so you can have a tour guide. (and in the ferry you have complimentary stay in vip room ) The island tour includes a buffet lunch. Some of the spots I took were from the private zones of the tour. the tour start It's very early in the morning so there aren't many people yet. Recommend you to come after Songkran in Thailand onwards. because during Songkran there will be a lot of people 💥 If you want privacy Let's come Monday to Friday. small island but bright water It's very hot during the day. You can rent diving equipment from the water shop. But there is also a deposit (~1000baht)

Fantastic island, beautiful. There are so many ways to get to it. Different packages from scober diving to just hiring one the small boats a total of 1250 Bhat return, there was five of us so potentially, try and hangle the price down if there are less of you.
BE WARNED THERE IS A ISLAND TAX OF 250 BHAT PER person that nobody tells you about until you get there.
Great beaches, sunshine, and clear water, perfect for snokling.
Don't forget your bug spray!

This is a beautiful island to visit, there isn’t much choice on where to buy any snacks whilst visiting. And no plastic is allowed to enter island, any plastic bottles are taken away when entering and paying the entrance fee. If you head up to the view point be prepared for a little queue on the final section. (The hike is not a long walk so a little wait is ok for a quick picture).
Nathan Saxon — Google review
Incredible island. Entrance is not cheap but what’s the point to go to Koh Tao without visiting Nang Yuan island. Go early morning to avoid tons of tourists.
Antoine Heren — Google review
One of the most beautiful islands of Thailand , this can be reached by a boat ride from koh samui. There are options of some hotel if you want to spend a night. But yes, that night would be damn right in the lap of nature with only sounds of the waves. Can also be reached for a day trip. Definitely a must visit if you are in koh samui. Little hiking is required to reach the viewpoint but once you reach the view is mind blowing.

Nang Yuan Island is one of the top things to visit in Koh Tao and there is a reason for that. This uniquely shaped island is extremely beautiful and focuses on being a green island as well. You can for example not bring any plastic bottles on the island.
The hike to the viewpoint is steep, with lots of mosquitoes, but the view is 100% worth it.

I’ve never seen such an incredible and beautiful place !!! Everything is out of this world. WOW wow wow. This is heaven
Dreaming about coming back 🥰

Viewpoint is worth the climb and wait, just be prepared to queue and do not forget mosquito repellent. Would advise bringing your own/hired snorkels with you as they are expensive on the island compared to on koh tao. Beautifully clear waters

My 1-day tour here was simply awesome! The ocean was so clear, it brought me pure happiness. Snorkeling in the clean waters allowed me to see vibrant fishes and amazing creatures. It's a must-visit spot for an unforgettable experience.

Yes it’s beautiful island, the shape of the island, the color of the water, view from the hill etc
But the island is packed with tourists and corals are mostly dead. It felt like a graveyard of corals. There are so many better islands for snorkeling. So I won’t recommend the snorkeling tour. Was bit of a joke…

The Cicada Market is a popular tourist attraction in Hua Hin, located 3.5km to the south. It features local artists, designers and craftsman selling art, clothing, decor and handmade goods alongside entertainment.
This market is more of a souvenir market with a food court that the market next door which is all food and live music. Its a little more middle class but clean, nice and kid friendly variety show performances too. The food is good, plenty of seating and there are some nice nick nacks to buy. Coupon system is a bit frustrating when you can just use cash at next market. No parking either, but a worth a visit all the same.
Jay Roams Thailand — Google review
The marketplace is a delightful three-day (Open on Friday, Saturday, Sunday) haven of creativity and community. With live performances, delectable food options, and an array of art and crafts, it offers a vibrant atmosphere. The voucher system adds convenience, allowing for flexibility in meal choices. The marketplace's cleanliness and friendly ambiance contribute to an enjoyable experience. Notably, the presence of a beautiful old tree adds a charming touch to the overall appeal. A must-visit for those seeking a unique and engaging weekend outing.

Nice place, you will find lots of food in many different ways and varieties! The prices are also cheap.
Besides, there has been some entertainer for the children, which they liked a lot.
It is also kind of a flea market. They have plenty of typical tourist-stuff, but not all do so.
Matthias Ginster — Google review
Very upscale market - each food vendor has their own specialty with the market clearly controlling hygiene and through a ticket system the vendors. Pricing was about the same as most mid end restaurants - 125thb for the pineapple rice 60 for the chicken satay, retail was about the same pricing and mix as the night market.
Colin McNair — Google review
Such a fun place to visit. The music is always good. Great live bands. Plenty of unique vendors.. The place is a little more upscale from the market next door. The food is served by the vendors in nice ceramic plates with real silverware... Nice touch. Vegetarian options available.

Huge moo Kata Thai barbecue with lots of variety of meat and veggies. Sure you gotta wash your hair afterwards. Busy and smokey open air restaurant under roof. Hygiene reasonably good. Price baht 280 incl soft drinks. Good value for money.

We visited for the first time and were truly impressed. The combination of art, jazz, and diverse dining options left us in awe. As the sun set, the atmosphere transformed, becoming even more enchanting. We were captivated by the butterfly sculptures, the eclectic array of artwork from various artists, the flea market, the cocktail bars, and the different jazz bands and singers. The food offerings ranged from budget-friendly to slightly more upscale, and there was also a wide variety for vegetarians. For those wanting more, a stroll to the nearby Tamarind Market is a must. Five stars. We can't wait to return.

While the Cicada Market in Huahin offers a vibrant atmosphere and a diverse range of arts and crafts, my experience was somewhat dampened by a couple of issues. Firstly, finding parking was a challenge and detracted from the overall convenience of visiting the market. Additionally, the lack of active fans in certain areas made it quite uncomfortable, especially during hot and humid days. Despite these drawbacks, the market itself is filled with unique finds and delicious food stalls, making it worth a visit if you're prepared for some minor inconveniences. The Thai music performances show was really impressive they deserve a better equipment support.
Teenut Thanakrit — Google review
Slighty different night market to the Tamarind next door, this market is more spacious and has a mixture of food stalls and craft stalls, particularly paintings. Like the Tamarind it has a stage with live music but the vibe is more laid back and relaxed than it's neighbour which specialises in just food. There is a second stage which was being used by street performers to entertain people with juggling acts.
This market uses Food Card rather than cash at the food stalls.

Not too crowded on weekend when I was here. The food here is too expensive, the market next to this place has more reasonable price for the food. But there were many of arts, show, and craft from local people. It is great to visit once. Many stuffs to buy here. You have to buy the coupon before ordering food, they were not accept cash or transfer.
Kanyaphat kanokbordeevanit — Google review
This market has a lot of various creativity. There are arts, paintings, and also the painters who paints your face! If you want to buy food here you must buy coupons. Also there is a magic show 👍👍

Good place to go on Friday and weekend evenings. It is a little bit too crowded for my taste, but it has some good little shops. I personally loved candles and patches.

Very spacious, clean market what included performances for children, flea market, local brands and items. Recommending the Delicious papaya salad with salty egg and coconut smoothie aside. But for food you have to buy vouchers, which can be refunded unused until 10pm only.

This is a market taylored for tourists (mainly handicrafts) The much more frequented part is the open air food court. It is worth to look outside for the adjoining TAMARIND market/food court with a great variety of more local and cheaper food options. Life music!

Half of the market is craft related items, and the other half is food related. There are also 2 different stages for performance. It is nice and clean, but Tamarind next door seems to have more attractive food stalls. Parking is 50 Baht.

Cute market next to Tamarind market. Both in walking distance. Lots more food in Tamarind market. Need food and drink tickets for Cicada market. Lots of cute things and crafts. Clothing, jewelry, hair accessories, artwork, things for kids, and toys. There are multiple live music sections in Cicada, which is nice to sit and watch.

A slightly different market. There are many artists here offering their artwork and lots of fun crafts. There are also enough food stalls
You can purchase vouchers for your meal that are always valid for the current day. You can simply return unused vouchers by 11:00 p.m. the same evening and get your money back.
Beautiful old tree
I liked that

Great night venue with plenty of food options and an assortment of stalls. A few different live music going on as well. Wish more of these existed!
The food was probably the only downside, but as it was still pretty cheap I can't critique it too much. I only sampled a few stalls, so I'd come back and try something else next time. But there isn't as much variety as a lot of the other night markets in Thailand here.

A lot if nice handmade products. Nice music. Pleasant atmosphere. Fried rice with crab here is very tasty (125 baht).

Nice weekend market to have a look at all kind of mostly handmade stuff. They also have a food court (but mayne go to the other side to Tamarind market which has a huge choice to offer). They also have some local shows at the market (Jazz band, puppet theater and other entertainment). Fun to go there
Sven — Google review
This is a really nice market to sit and chill. There is a great band that plays every night and the have guest singers and musicians at one end and entertainers like clowns and magicians, at the other end. There are lovely art stalls selling all sorts of handmade crafts.
The only issue we had was the food, its really expensive and you have to purchase vouchers to pay.
Daisy Drake — Google review
A little different than your average night market - it's targeted to a broad set of people with art, crafts, music, and common set of food items. Was nice setup and very organized with plenty of seating which can be tricky for night markets. The coupon system to order things is a bit of a hassle but they make it efficient since you can return unused coupons.

Highly recommend it.
I went there during the Music festival weekend. Rock band and a full jazz band were playing.
Good vibe, I like the atmosphere..
Mamy shops and eateries .
Hua Hin Beach is a great place to swim, relax and tan. It is especially popular with tourists because it does not get as crowded or noisy as some of the other beaches in Thailand. There are plenty of restaurants and bars with tables and chairs near the beach, perfect for people who have had enough sun.
Amazing beach with sun rises from ocean. Cleaner than previous visits as post COVID-19 era. Wonderful time to be on the beach. Recommended.

This beach was not crowded much. Many people enjoyed the beach and sun.
There are some people asking to ride horses, but not too much.

Incredible beach with beautiful views and calm waters. The sand and sea are very clean and much less polluted than other beaches in Thailand. It is a wonderful place with lovely beach restaurants and resorts along the shore. There are horses along the sea and a few people selling market goods as well if you wish to shop while you enjoy the views. There are many kite surfing and foiling opportunities here, and places to learn. The wind is great 😊
Samantha Taranto — Google review
With staying away from the main part of the beach near the surf kite school I feel lucky , the beach here is clean the sea accessible and it’s great for a long walk too , the main part of the beach I would not describe as anything better than average , this is where the horses are mainly and you get a fair amount of pee and poo from the horses visible on the sand , the smell around this part of the beach when I was there was very sewage like , you also get the hard sell on the sunbeds that are here , why you would want a sunbed where the horses poop I’m not sure .
There where no jelly fish visible when I visited and I did enjoy some good walks so it’s definitely 4 stars for the beach area that is away from the main part , for me the main part of the beach would struggle to get 1 star .

Not a bad beach at all, though can't compare to the best in Phuket. I stayed at Baan Bayan Beachfront Hotel so enjoyed the beautiful sunrises. For swimming it's very shallow and you have to walk a long way out to get deeper water. The beach is incredibly popular with Kite surfers and watching then provided hours of entertainment. The predictable wind conditions with the fairly constant onshore breeze in the afternoons seems to create the ideal conditions for this sport.
Miles Macdonald — Google review
Good for walking and having a bath as water is very hot. Very cute crabs everywhere. Some people pick them up, I don't know why.
Downside is the horses riders, which one of them raced just by my side, making me in danger as he passed so close to me at twilight(low visibility) and throwing sand to my eyes and mouth. Please, people, don't support these activities!!
Antonio Vidal Carrasco — Google review
A nice beach that is also suitable for children.
Just be careful of the horses as they have to trot up and down the beach all day without a bucket of water in sight, so they can be a bit skittish!

Bit crowded but still quite manageable. Lots of parking was available. We spent several hours in tanning sun.
Water was quite clean and sand fine and white. People making sand castles, several rides on rent. There was even a fashion photo shoot going on!

If you travel to Huahin and want to relax, grab a mat or a blanket with few bottles of beers and head to the public beach to enjoy the sunset, the sand , sea and the atmosphere. You can sit anywhere you like and chill. You can also swim with their clean and crystal water. Relax and discover your inner peace here. ❤️
PS. You can also bring your pets. 🐈 🐈⬛ 🐩 🐕

Great beach to take a long walk on. I started at the pier and ended up at Monkey Mountain. Plenty of places to get food and beverages to hydrate along the walk. The ocean is very welcoming and warm. Be mindful of the jellyfish.

Long and clean white sand beach, mostly easy to stroll along with some tricky patches when the tide is high.
Plenty of activities: horse riding, kite surfing, windsurfing, no horse surfing as of yet though.

Very scenic during sunrise. Just a feedback though, there's a handful of floating plastics in the water and around the beach. A trash bin is necessary to maintain the cleanliness of the place.
Cyril Conrad Manubag — Google review
Beautiful beach gorgeous sea. Walk as far as you can away from the hustle and bustle, and you will then have a great seaside experience.
The sand is white, the sea green and warm. It appears super clean.
Now there are jelly fish, I had no problem. They are a few washed up on the beach every hundred metres or so. I am not sure if this is a normal occurrence or an indication of human medaling.
DONT TOUCH THE DEAD JELLY FISH THEY CAN STILL STING.
It doesn't detract from the experience. It was just something I noticed.
All in all, a great couple of hours spent taking all that the ocean can offer.

I'll never travel to Yangon (Rangoon) without this trip planner again
If you're looking for a unique experience in Hua Hin, then you should visit Monsoon Valley Vineyard. This vineyard was planted in 2004, and it's managed by Siam winery. You'll have to drive around 45 minutes to get there, but it's worth it!
Great place. We originally went to see the national forest nearby and stopped here for lunch. The food was okay but the wine and view were spectacular. They also have vineyard and elephant tours. We took my grandfather back on the second trip and they were very helpful with getting her in and out of the van to see the elephants.

Great vibe indeed, especially if it’s not that hot and breezy then it’s a very good place for afternoon sipping. Food was mediocre, but quite pricey. Wine tasted better than expected but also came with a higher price for local grade. Service was excellent staff were very welcoming and attentive.

Beautiful property with a fantastic restaurant serving fine-dining quality Thai and fusion dishes. The vineyard grows a variety of grapes on this site but wine is not made here. Be sure to taste the award-winning bottles!

Very nice environment deep in the village for breakfast until late lunch.
Nice place to chill with wines but no air conditioning & quite hot during lunch hour.
Chosen a bottle of wine which taste bitter at the end, not my type of wine 😖😖😖
Grape juice is really good 👍
Food not bad but a bit pricey....
Overall very clean & nice place 👍

We went here as suggested by our hotel in Hue Hin and were very pleased with the experience and service. We picked the Vineyard tour with elephant feeding activity then tried out the wine tasting package.

The view from the restaurant is stunning! It's really worth a visit.

The place is beautiful. Unbelievable to see a vineyard in Thailand.
I only rate 4 star for the food as I think I just order a wrong one. I ordered a spaghetti vongole and it has a fishy taste. I think it is just lacking of herbs. I have to be very honest on that so that this menu can be improve.
But the guys were having cold cuts platter. They enjoyed it!
Wine tasting were marvelous!!!
All in all, we had a great time.

Beautifully located restaurant, high up with views of the vineyards & mountains all around. You have to pay a 200 THB entrance fee but this is redeemable for food or drink. Most of the seating is outside for the best views but they also have an Aircon room. The food is good but expensive. You can also have wine tasting of 3 or 5 different wines for a reasonable price. Great for a lazy lunch.
They also have elephants which you can feed with bananas.

A stunning vista at this upscale winery nestled in the hills 45 min from Hua Hin. We didn’t do any kind of tour but just ended our day here for dinner and a wine tasting.
Two elephants are residents to see for those interested.
There were 5 of us and we all ordered something different - everyone loved their food.
Because we live in a wine vacation destination in Canada our selves, it was interesting to experience the vibe on the other side of the planet.
We ended our meal with a tasting of white, rose and red. Order the red if you go as the white was virtually undrinkable for us (very “green”).
A lovely afternoon and highly recommended!

Amazing vineyard and the tour is amazing. They take you for a 20 minute ride around the wineries explaining all the wines which they make. They export 30% to Europe and elsewhere. They stop at the main view points to click your Instagram famous pictures. If you are there during the season you can pluck the grapes and do the stomping as well. Once the tour is over, you have wine tasting and they come explain all the wines and give it for tasting.

Great panoramic vinyard view.
Good for sipping wine and enjoy the view.
Food is just fair... typical western food menu. Cold cuts, pasta, steaks, etc.
Sadly we think some dishes are quite overpriced.
Wine is good. Plus you can buy it home from the wine shop on site.
Wine yard tour is better when in the harvest season. Elephant sanctuary is nice but also pricey.
It's around 45 min. from center of Hua Hin.

We loved the day trip to the wine farm. Lots to do for everyone. Small play area for kids, there are different activities with elephants during the day so plcheck the times. Vineyard tour as well as a bicycle tour available. Kids can even paint their own wine labels. Souvenir shop available. Awesome views of the vineyard and surrounding mountains. We chose from about 6 wine and food pairing options off the menu. Different combinations for all pallets. If you don't want to get technical, there is also an al la carte menu. There is no beer on the menu. Service is excellent and the food very good. I highly recommend a visit.

Had the worst experience! Booked a tour for Harvest festival, got confirmation by email! When we came there and payed 1580 baht for your (5 hours drive) it turns out, that we can’t have wine blending and tasting, we can only have ride (10 min) around vineyard, grape stomping (5 more min) and we got a plastic cup with grape juice! Instead of wine tasting we’ve got t-shirts. I understand, that there was a holiday in Thailand, BUT YOU NEED TO WARN people that program of the tour will change! You can easily do it by email, when sending confirmation of booking! After that 20 min “tour”we decided not to argue and spoil the mood and just went to have something to eat at the restaurant. BUT it was closed! We’ve got no excuses, no manager came to talk to us! So we had to drive 40 min more just to have food! I would not recommend going there, just because you will never know what to expect!

It's a great vineyard to visit when you are in Hua Hin! Food is average, nothing to rave about. They have a good range of wine selection, and some are really good!
You can opt for the tour, which brings you around the vineyard via their mini transport. You could also visit the elephants, which reside inside the vineyard as well!
The River Kwai Bridge is a replica of the bridge that was partially destroyed in World War II. Originally built as a heavy duty bridge to support the Thailand Burma Railway, the site now serves as a local market and annual festivals. The bridge is also significant for its role during World War II and its association with film actor Steve McQueen.
The bridge itself is equal parts beautiful and bittersweet. Absolutely amazing views of both the bridge and of the river end nearby temple.
Make sure to read up on the history of the bridge before going.
The surrounding area is setup to cater to tourist's with food, souvenir and jewellery stores/ markets in the immediate area. Nearby restaurants as well.
There were some posted signs warning about a high volume of pickpockets in the area.
Aim to visit early in the morning if possible to avoid crowds.

Beautiful area, free to explore and take pictures on the bridge and surrounding area. Lots of shops and a museum close by that is open earlier in the day. Train runs in early morning. Night life and restaurants within walking distance are also wonderful. Unique piece of history to remember those who sacrificed and to learn from.

The River Khwae Bridge is a historical bridge over the Khwae River in Kanchanaburi. The historical significance is the main reason for visiting this site. For the rest, it's just a bridge, in my opinion. The area around the bridge is nice too, like the Chinese temple, from where you can get a great view of the bridge!

This is such an interesting place to visit with so much history involving the POWs in World War II. We were able to walk over the bridge and then we took the train that still runs for an hour and a half and rode over the bridge on our way back. A truly amazing place to visit. So much history behind this iconic structure, a must see for all who visit Thailand. There are a number of small museums around which I would also recommend, as they are very informative about the bridge and the human sacrifice made during its construction. Also make sure to wait for the train to pass over! A special place to visit and a once in a lifetime experience for sure.

Took the bridge from the train so didn't really see the bridge. It is a unique bridge with rich history. But it's not really worth the time to travel just to visit the bridge. It is best to combine it with other attractions nearby like the nature reserves, etc.
Stop at River Kwai Bridge station (one stop after Kanchanaburi Station) if you want to take photos of the bridge. It stops just before crossing the bridge.
I made the mistake of taking the train across the bridge and the next station is very far away from the bridge.

The history of the Kwai Bridge is a remarkable tale of human ingenuity and determination. Constructed during World War II by Allied prisoners of war, it stands as a symbol of resilience and cooperation in the face of adversity.
The bridge's significance extends beyond its functional purpose, as it has become a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the power of unity.

Great little stop just for history's sake. You can walk across the bridge. The view is pretty nice. It's a fun little stop for half an hour or so. If you want to eat, there are food shops and a floating restaurant right next to it.
The train still runs on this track!! We had a little Stand By Me reenactment on our trip. My daughter was checking the rails, Wonder when the next train comes?🤣 Walking back, we here a train whistle, turn and look,
T R A I N ! ! ! 🤣🤣
It runs really slow so no danger, but we kinda laughed about it🥰

This historical bridge is free to enter. You can take 10 mins walk and taking photos with the beautiful view. Then you can enjoy the small market there and eat at nice restaurants along the river.

Interesting to see and to learn a bit about history. Memories coming up from the movie.
To walk over the bridge is for free. Nice view over the river. We spend there around 1 hour.

Fantastic bridge at Kanchanaburi. Many tourists, shops and food stalls nearby. It took about 10 mins walk from start to end of this bridge. The train arrived at 2.50pm. The bridge looked solid and stable. Tourists should go there and enjoy a walk on the bridge and nice scenery.

Yes, we'll worth a visit, and catch the train for a further one hour ride up the track that the poor prisoners of war built. The museum is well worth a visit, as is the beautifully maintained cemetery. Recommended for a day trip.

It was fun to stand there and see the train pass through. The train was old and looked like trains in Vietnam. There were many people there to see the train and after that take pictures of the railway, the temple nearby and the river. We spent some time there to take pictures and walk along the railway. After that we found a place where the street vendors sold coconut. We decided to try some. The coconuts were cool, sweet and fresh. The price was cheap.

I am told the train over the bridge stopped 8 years ago. However walking the bridge still felt special. Odd how I only heard the Great Escape music in my mind lol
Update/ later saw a diesel train cross the bridge.

Amazing place , impressive bridge that was restored since the bombing during the war , river was clean & we still
Managed to get to see the train cross the bridge , something nostalgic . Tips do head down to the banks area fr better shots as I did cos the crowd mostly stayed up there along the tracks .

Kanchanaburi isn't too touristy at the moment. Perfect for people who hate crowds. Having the train moving so close to you is also surreal. Love every moment of it.
Recommended places to visit around the vicinity:
1) POW Camp - on the left of the bridge
2) Chinese memorial featuring the TNM Sq masscre - on the right of the bridge

You have seen it in movies and heard it in songs but seeing it live is pretty remarkable. You just can't imagine the words playing in your head, the mixed feelings of both joy and sadness, the ghost bumps keep coming back repeatedly.
The distance to travel from Kanchanaburi city centre is about a 20 minute ride away.
“This famous Bridge in Thailand, is a historical landmark resembling a true testament of the price we humans paid for war and the resilience that stands before us is the human foundation of true brotherly love.
This World War II prisoners contribution is also recorded an Asian forced labor construction under the Japanese occupation, this bridge signified a symbol of both suffering and triumph.
Visiting the bridge evokes a sense of solemnity and reflection, as one walks across the historic structure that stands as a reminder of the sacrifices made. Its picturesque surrounding amidst the sight of a beautiful river adds excitement and fond memories, making it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts and travelers alike.”

The railway bridge spanning the River Kwai in Thailand is known for its horrific history as part of the infamous Death Railway. Thousands of Allied POWs lost their lives building it during World War II, and the structure is now a popular tourist destination. The bridge is made out of wooden boards and is relatively old, but well maintained.
The death railway as it is called a a popular places for tourists both Thai and non Thai to come to take photos, enjoy the views , even relax and engage in fun activities at the local resorts. It is a very beautiful area and there was some places to get food, drinks and tourist things at the market next to the caravan park. It’s worth a visit if you are in the area. It is about a 3 hour drive from Bangkok.

I visited Al Hill Pier on a Sunday in September.
I also referred to the historical background and points to note that everyone has written.
The train departed from Thonburi Station at 7:45, but stopped at several stations along the way for about 10 minutes, arriving at Tham Kurasae Station at 12:02.
The train stopped at Tham kurasae Bridge station, but I was unable to get off.
Grab taxis don't seem to come around here, so be careful about the train time on your way home.

Reach there around 4 to 5pm. Not much people around and the shops are closing. But it's the golden hour to be there had the place to ourselves and can take photos without disturbance and even get to see the train passing by. Definitely worth the drive there. We park at the thamkrasae station side just a short walk to the bridge and the cave.

If you like history, this place is a live museum.
You can walk on or under the railway to see how hard this railway can be built in just around 2 weeks-time.
Please be careful while walking on the railway.

Arrived here after the last train passed for sometime, so the whole place seems deserted. It feels serene, and peaceful, oblivious to the hardships and numerous deaths that took the POW and Romusha to built it. Some tracks are new, while most hugging the cliffs are still original. The sleepers tells the difference. There's no safety railing along the tracks so walking along it is a risk every one takes on their own, which I prefer it that way to preserve its originality. After visiting the Death Railway Museum followed by visiting this tracks in person gives me a real sense of respect yet sorrow for the fallen people who were forced to built it. An impossible task made possible, albeit hundred of thousands of sacrificed. A must visit if you are at Kanchanaburi. One bucket list of mine..... cleared.

The well known Railway Bridge near the river Kwai, part of the Siam-Burma historic railway. Started during the Japanese army occupation of Indochina during WW2. Due to many forced labourers who died during its construction, the line is known as the death railway. Be sure to visit this plade, very scenic !

Great scenery with a historic railway above the river. You can enter this part of the railway from both Suan Sai Yok Resort and a market side. The first one is recommended because you can take a walk along the rails to see natural and man-made landscape for awhile. In the late morning, a train will approach this route at 11.00 a.m. and you could take a picture with a train at the sidewalk safely.

Took the railway here. According to the tour guide, this is one of the recommend pit stops to take the railway. Nice scenic views, and there’s a small cave nearby.
Do try to wear proper shoes though! I was unaware and showed up in slippers - not the best footwear for the tracks.

Just this part of the railway is worth a visit, but don't wait too long, the Thai railways are doing a renovation and I fear they are replacing all the wood with concrete. If that happens, it is finished as a tourist attraction.
Take a walk on the track, but be ready to step aside when the train comes. It drives quite slowly, and the horn is honked in good time.

Erawan Falls, located in Erawan National Park, is a beautiful 7-tiered waterfall that can be accessed via trails and footbridges. The waterfall is a welcome relief from the emotions of the devastating historic events of Kanchanaburi and the humidity and heat.
Erawen falls is 1.5hr drive from Kanchanaburi (by bus) or 45 mins drive from Nam Tok (by taxis). Very nice waterfalls (photos show waterfall no. 1 to 4). Entrance fee is 300 baht (adult) and 100 baht (child). Rental of life jacket is required if you want to swim (20 BAHT each per 2 hrs). Bus to/fro Kanchanaburi schedule are lesser as it is COVID period. Taxis will cost around 600-800 baht from Nam Tok as it's around 60km one way.
Recommended to buy water bottle before climbing past No. 2 waterfall as there is no more shops. There are picnic areas, toilets and stalls at no. 1 and 2 waterfalls. It's quite surprising to see so many fishes in the waterfall. Most of them are waiting for u to step into the water to have a nibble at your feet dead skins. They won't disturb you once you swim towards the waterfall.

A great experience to see the nurture at its best.
Well maintained national park with few stores to grab drinks or snack.
7 levels of waterfalls with well maintained paths to each of them. Bluish water with fishes. Come with swimsuits so you can enjoy the full experience and chill at the water.
Difficulty level is between low to moderate (depends on the waterfall you aiming to get to).
The whole 7 levels of waterfalls took us approximately 3 hours including stops to relax at waterfall 5 and 7.
In addition you’ll have the chance to explore some amazingly beautiful butterflies.

It consists of 7 waterfalls. To see them all, you must be prepared to go for a light hike, or you will regret it. Another thing you should not forget is to wear a bathing suit. If you don't, you'll only get half the splendor of this waterfall.
It is best not to wear hiking shoes or beach sandals, but to wear shoes that have both functions.
Life vests are available at the first waterfall for a fee, so don't forget to borrow one if you're going into the water.

We loved the hike up the different levels. But, we found it ridiculous that the officials made you hire a life jacket to swim in waist-deep water. As we lived on a boat and swam nearly everyday, we didn’t want to do this. It seemed like just a money making scheme to me as there was a life guard at each spot except for the top. The fish nibble on you.

Very nice waterfall walk. There are 7 levels, and the walk from parking to the end is approx 2500 metres. But the path is sometimes quite steep and narrow, from level 4 its not for people with disabilities. Very nice place, lot of interesting animals and plants. Worth the entrance fee, even if its higher for foreigners, but its everywhere in Thailand. Many amazing places in Thailand are free, so you can pay sometimes.

This was an amazing day hike with lots of good swimming areas both shallow and deep. If you keep your legs still for about a minute little fish will start to nipple on them. It feels really weird but doesn't hurt anything. The trail is about 2 km and was pretty reasonable hiking even for our 3, 5 and 7 year-olds. The trails is almost completely non-technical and almost paved through the fourth falls. As you approach the fifth falls it starts to get a little steeper and more single track. We ended up turning around at the 5th falls but we heard reports that the trail does get a little steeper. You can rent floaties around the first or second falls. It was about an hour's drive from Kanchanaburi.

Erawan falls was a hidden gym here in Thailand. I rented a motorcycle from Bangkok and drove here, was about 4-5 hour ride. Spent the night locally and arrived early in the morning to see the falls before others showed up. If you arrive super early, hike directly to the last falls and work your way back, that way you'll have everything to yourself! Hiking trail is moderate, first part flat, back half had some slight climbing. Falls were beautiful.

I’ve been here years ago and was really excited to come back. It’s much more developed now which makes the hike up much easier. Be prepared to have little fish nibble your toes when you get into the water, but as long as you keep moving / swimming they’ll leave you alone 😁

Impressive color of water. The second floor is the most beautiful. There are 7 floor in total. It take around 1 hour to reach the highest level. They made a new road the go upper floor which make it a lot more convenient than before. Try not to wear a slipper, it was slippery. Get you swim suit ready and jump into blue turquoise water. Fish might try to eat you though, they are too big. In stead of feeling relax from fish massage, it rather feel being eaten by fish.

When visiting River Kwai, Kanchanaburi, the River Kwai is an absolutely must to visit. The perfect period is just after the raining season when the waterfalls are swollen and filled with streaming water. When you are in a good physical condition the walk along the 7 floors takes about 3 hours. The walkway is extremely well maintained and makes it a unforgettable event.

Indeed a very nice national park with a good trail to the 7 different levels of the Erawan Waterfall. About 200 meters attitude and 2,2 km to walk. Always good to cool down in the pools, especially when its about 33 degrees.
Life wests are mandatory which cost 20 Baht each.
Sometimes the rocks are very slippery.
On the level 3 we enjoyed a good fish Spa for the feet.
Overall we spend about 4 hours there.
Entrance foreigners: 300 Baht. Thai 60 Baht.

A wonderful experience to add to the list of to-do’s in Thailand. While we utilized a tour service, it is not necessary for this, you can save your money and just hire a driver to take you out here.
This is a bit of a climb. There are 7 different waterfall areas, each one approximately 100-300 meters from the next. It takes about 35-45 minutes to hike up the whole thing depending on how fast you are.
Most of the areas allow you to swim and go into the water area, some are not allowed. A life jacket is necessary to swim, but depending on the day, the lifeguards may or may not care.
There are no lockers to store your things, I recommend leaving your things in the drivers car if you’re uncomfortable leaving them alongside the water areas with all sorts of people.
Towels are also not provided. They can be bought at the market (entrance of waterfall) for about 150 baht.
The water is a bit cold but once you swim around for a minute it’s fine. There are also tons of fish in the water and they will surround your feet and nibble on you. It doesn’t hurt, it just tickles and feels very different.
The monkeys are very calm, and they only got ancy when people were all up in their business.
All in all, highly recommend !

Avoid in dry season!!
I came 22nd Feb and was disappointed.
320Baht for entry I think is probably warranted in peak seasons but the water levels at this time of the year were very low and could be priced accordingly. It was to be expected but I gave it a chance anyway. It was a nice trail all the way up 7 levels nonetheless. I would just avoid anyone getting their hopes up in dry season as it’s a fair trip.

To enter this park for foreigners, ticket purchase need be done through an app (fairly complex process). So need to make sure you have Internet connection, and credit card OTP is working.
The park is really beautiful, layers upon layers of turquoise waterfalls. There are seven waterfalls on the hike up. If you just want to swim, the first few ones are the best. You do need to rent a life jacket. If you plan to hike to the top, you might not want to carry your life jacket along. Do allocate at least half a day here, or full day if you want to explore everything and swim. Water level at each level might varies depending on seasonality.

A museum dedicated to the Allied prisoners of war and Asian laborers who died during the construction of the Burma-Thailand railway during World War II, Hellfire Pass Memorial and Museum is a must-see for anyone interested in history. The hike to the museum takes visitors through horrific conditions experienced by POWs and Asian laborers who built the railway in what is now known as Hellfire Pass. The pass is notorious for its extreme heat and brutal work schedule that claimed over 100,000 soldiers' lives.
If you like historical places, then this is for you. It is amazing the work those prisoners done back in the day. It's quite hot and long trail, so be ready to have some sweat and tears. When I was visiting, center was closed due to covid so could not get the audio book. It's kind of dead even in weekends so not crowded at all.

Hellfire Pass is a must see for people wanting to learn more about the Death Railway. It is located where many prisoners of war and Asian laborers gave their lives to create a railway between Thailand and Myanmar for Japanese war ambitions. There is a nice visiting building to learn more about its history. However, you'll want to make time to do the Hellfire Pass walk. There's a short walk to the memorial (1k), or a longer walk (+2k) that goes further. It's a beautifully maintained trail that pays respect to those that lost their lives. There are a lot of mosquitoes so bring bug spray. It's outdoors so you may need sunscreen. Finally, there are stairs, so be prepared for a little exercise. Budget at least 1 hour for this place. You'll another hour or so to really take it on though. Enjoy

This place is very professionally run, especially as it is free entry. The long walk with audio guide was the best activity I've done relating to Death Railway. You get to hear stories from the survivors at the same time as walking in their footsteps. A very harrowing yet humbling experience! If going without a tour, taxi is 800 Baht return (negotiable if not busy) from Nam Tok. This may feel like a lot, but they wait for you to do the walk and considering the quality of the experience and the fact the museum entry is free, it was well worth it for me!

By taking something so massivly horendous and focusing on individual stories it was immensly moving.
Not even as a focus on the war but the testament to the brave people who did and did not make it.

If you have taken the time to visit Kanchanaburi then I would highly recommend you take the time to travel to hellfire pass to experience the full emotion of the death railway. It takes quite a time to get there but it's well worth it. The museum and walking tour is operated by the Australian government and is free to enter. There is a fantastic museum before you make the descent down to the pass, where you can walk along through the hellfire pass cutting and onto the old tracks where the railway used to be. There is also a useful audio tour guide which will help to give you a flavour of what it was like as a prisoner working on the railway. Highly recommended.

Hell Fire Pass Memorial Museum, From the museum, a walking trail (few hundred yards) leads you to the Hellfire Pass, also known as Konyu Cutting. You can also keep on walking down the abandoned railway line, which is more or less a five kilometers hike. It is an excellent museum and memorial in recognition of prisoners of war who perished during World War II. It was estimated that at least 90,000 labors and 12,000 POWS, mostly Australians were killed while being forced to work on a construction of the death railway. The exhibition hall displays photos and related stories, reminding us of the horror of war. There is a trail, supposedly along the old railway track , about 500 meters long where you can retrace the history. There are a few war era remains as well as Australian flags dotted a narrow path. For a keen walker, the trail extends further for another 2 kilometer but with steep climbs and descends. Those who wish to do this 5-kilometer-return walks need to register and acquire radios that are provided at no cost. The overall operation and management of this museum and memorial is very well done, thank to the funds by Australian Government. It is strongly recommended for those who wish to do a whole trail, to visit this place in early morning. The heat in the afternoon in this area can be scorching, no wonder it is called hell-fire pass.

historic center On the way through the accommodation. I like the design. At first, I also appreciated that our government has designed it well. Read and read as the Australian government works. The staff explains the process very well. Admission is free. But can donate. Enter the building, there is a viewpoint and explain what Khao Khad Gorge is. After finishing, there is a video for about 10 minutes to watch when going down to the bottom of the building. There is a souvenir shop, water, a few snacks, and audio commentary by number. which is free of charge!!! Exit the building, walk down the stairs and you will see Khao Khad Gorge. Walk about 500 meters, 1 kilometer round trip (small path), if the full route is probably 5 km. Overall a great place. Thanks to the Australian government and officials. The management is excellent.

Remember, learn and feel humble - this is our most impressive memory of the different locations to visit around the build of the death railroad where so many men have lost their lives.
Thanks to Australian efforts this location has been restored as a place of memory. It’s where the Japanese invader forced allied POW’s to break through rock bed mountain to build the railroad - with just basic tools.
The toolmarks, railroad pieces and stories told by veterans that make this memory almost touchable. And not to forget: the many unknown and unnamed foreign civilians that where forced to work here as well.
Take your time and go beyond the first area’s, there is a path that goes further and shows less recovered areas. Take water, good shoes and ask for information at the location.

Definitely the best historical place I've visited in Kanchanaburi. I have been wanting to visit this area and feel the same thing as a lot visitors said in their reviews. It's painful to see
and read the experiences of the people back then. But, it's also very memorable to learn about it.
If you're going on the long train, you will be given a radio and a recording device that would inform you about the happenings before. It was really awful to listen yet it's nice to be informed about it. One should always bring water and a good sturdy shoes if you wanted to experience the trail.
I wasnt able to finish the long trail because of heavy rain and I have promised my self to go back again.

I highly suggest going. I did the combination of the indoor memorial with the walking of Hellfire Pass with the audio guide. The information from both the indoor portion and the walking path audio guide was redundant but it is about the only way to really visit this site properly. However do not wait to be at the numbered prompts for the walk just when one segment ends begin the next segment of the audio guide. I walked the entirety of the path and had a driver meet me at the other end. Doing this was the best way for visiting this site.
I was able to hire a driver for an entire day for 2,000 baht. Therefore I was able to visit Hell Fire Pass and other sites all in one day.

One of the most infamous parts of the Burma Railway, also known as the Death Railway, is the Hellfire Pass. The infamous cutting is the longest and most deadly on the railway. I also fotografed a lot of birds so i am very happy.
I do recommend this place! Come and learn the history!

Worth to go not only about historical memo, but hiking. Please avoid 11am-3pm since it’s absolutely extremely hot. Staff is professional.
