After indulging in the warm hot springs, visitors can savor local cuisine at the resort's restaurants or have a fun time singing karaoke with friends. The festive ambiance and friendly service create a memorable experience for guests.
It was my first time at a hot spring resort in China and I was blown away at the services and attitude of the people here. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful and the festive ambiance was amazing. There's one part of a building that's dedicated to catering to an all-you-can-eat festival style that's a definite must go!
They have a karaoke bar that's opened until 2:30 am and although the selection for English songs isn't much, they do have some of the older English songs if you're into oldies. You're in luck if you know Mandarin or Cantonese! The karaoke staff were extremely friendly and amazing and I definitely think they're one of the hardest workers in this resort.
The hot springs itself is amazing and the temperature is just right! The mood is fantastic and I really don't know what else I could say about this place that could show how much fun this place is.
I would recommend staying for 2 days and 2 nights to be able to relax and enjoy everything.

I fell in love with this place. The hot springs are really relaxing, the only disturbing thing is if you are a foreigner- you will be literally stared at and followed by children and their families.
The place is very clean.
The restaurant street (all you can eat) is just amazing, you het anything you can just imagine from typical Chinese, Other Asian or even western food. The food is really amazing experience.

Many different types of hot baths and other facilities to enjoy with. There is a basketball court nearby and the staffs are so nice and willing to lend us a ball, as the ball should belong to some staffs instead of the hotel. Despite the place being seemingly far from urban area, it is a fun and interesting place to visit overall.
Ping Chung Wat — Google review
This is a very interesting hot spring resort to stay for a day or two. They have a fun buffet with a whole street of food and snacks, once you pay for buffet place, all the food on that street is free. Their breakfast buffet and the restaurants are very good as well. The only problem is that it could be hard for foreign people to make a resevration there, their English website is not working. The resort package in ctrip is hard to understand for what the package was included.
Chi Mui — Google review
Spending two days and a night at this hot spring resort was quite a relaxing break from everyday’s stress. You get dressed in a kimono and roam the grounds with except when dunking in the hot pools. Even on a Monday, it was crowded so you can imagine on the weekends and holidays. Price reasonable that include all drinks and meals.
Clinton Vaitu — Google review
There's certain period of shuttle bus service pickup from zhuhai nearby the gongbei exit. Your id or passport will be collected for registration and return to you in late noon to your room, or at the front desk if no one is in. 24hours hotspring is ready for visit. There's a big locker room to store your clothes and then proceed to shower. They even prepared hair spray and gel after hairdrying. Have choose to dine in the all paid food streets and it was lots of variety to choose from. Some games where you can play with the tickets given upon entering. Package I bought include the bicycle ride and fireworks to have fun with. Room was a Japanese style tatami, great and clean room. Good choice for a short holiday to relax and approximately 80minutes to get there.

However, please remove the awkward towel WC seat covers in the hotel room toilets.

I like dinner buffet here. There are many foods and enjoyable games. Rooms are japanese style.

Very quiet place - I won’t call any of them ruins though many seemed unoccupied and looked old. 2 of the buildings are opened for visitors to enter

A Kaiping Diaolou (碉楼) is (was) a fortified multi-storey watchtower constructed usually over concrete, in the countryside villages around the Kaiping area, at its peak between 1920 and 1930 when some three thousand were built.
All made by families who had worked a long time outside China, overseas Chinese (华侨), mostly in North America but also South America, Southeast Asia (e.g. Malaya) and Australasia.
Although the diaolous were built primarily as protection against forays by bandits in the Warlord Era, many of them also served as living quarters. Some of them were built by a single family, some by several families together or by entire village communities. The height allowed seeing strangers a long way away; but also the tower and its boundary used up less of the agriculture land. Only one gate in the boundary, and door into the house not on the ground floor.
In 2007, UNESCO designated the Kaiping Diaolou and Villages a World Heritage Site, which covers four separate Kaiping village areas: Sanmenli, Zilicun, Jinjiangli, and Majianglong village cluster.
John Perry — Google review
It is difficult to get to this place, and difficult to get out too, but the villages are very beautiful. And the local villagers-cooked lunch are a must-try.
Allan Szeto — Google review
Must visit, very well preserved heritage site full of tall fortress like houses. These very unusual for the Chinese country side structures were build in the 1920s by the Chinese, who came back to the motherland after living in Canada, US, Australia and the UK. It must have been truly shocking for the local villagers to see these collosal towers coming up in their rice fields. All houses were built with imported from the UK cement. Some are open to visit inside and view domestic objects from 100 years ago and family photos.
Tatyana Kildisheva — Google review
Kaiping Diaolou and Villages feature the Diaolou, multi-storeyed defensive village houses in Kaiping, which display a complex and flamboyant fusion of Chinese and Western structural and decorative forms. They reflect the significant role of émigré Kaiping people in the development of several countries in South Asia, Australasia and North America, during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. There are four groups of Diaolou and twenty of the most symbolic ones are inscribed on the List. These buildings take three forms: communal towers built by several families and used as temporary refuge, residential towers built by individual rich families and used as fortified residences, and watch towers. Built of stone, pise, brick or concrete, these buildings represent a complex and confident fusion between Chinese and Western architectural styles. Retaining a harmonious relationship with the surrounding landscape, the Diaolou testify to the final flowering of local building traditions that started in the Ming period in response to local banditry.

I'll never travel to Xi'an without this trip planner again
Keyuan Garden, a historic garden dating back to the Qing Dynasty, is one of the four renowned gardens in Guangdong Province. With its traditional buildings, ponds, and bridges, it offers scenic paths for visitors to explore. The 19th-century Lingnan architecture and carp-filled waters make it a cultural treasure. Accessible by bus, this peaceful sanctuary provides a window into Dongguan's history and culture.
It is inexpensive to visit this place and it's a great window back into history of Dongguan. It is peaceful and relaxing to walk around here and absorbed the culture. There are someone performances here that you can enjoy for free, which I think is a great bonus. I recommend stopping here and enjoying the views of the architecture and culture.

Beautiful authentic garden, wonderful photo opportunities. The garden is very peaceful and tranquil. 8 yuan ticket fee. The garden and museum isn't that large, you can cover the whole area in 1- 2 hours dependent on pace. Well worth a visit if you are in the area and it's not too far from Qifeng Park if you want to explore that after.

I simply adore this park. Came here with the whole family in December and loved every part of the park. The weather is also nicer this time around making the strolling around the park less tiring.
Entrance is simple, but one cannot miss the plenty fish ponds here with thousands of koi fish. So calming. The different museums and shrines let you explore so many things about the Chinese culture. We took endless photos here and there. Recommended for anyone visiting GZ and looking for a fresher! Will be back!

A Diverse, Large, Super scenic Park.
This park and its extensive "water features" cover about 25 acres/100 hectares. The one kilometre river interconnects with the two lakes and one bay. There are about 30 bridges built over these waterways! There are also many examples of Chinese pottery, porcelain and brick sculptures as well as a Bronze statue of Confucius. The gardens include an area devoted to Roses and another devoted to Orchids. There are also four halls which exemplify historic architecture and paintings. While the weekends are quite busy, the weekdays are much less so! It is accessible as one can go by Metro. A visit will enrich your memories of Guangzhou!!
I hope that this Review has been helpful.

Really unprofessionally run golf club ,no one really speaks English and the whole time everyone is trying to scam money from you for services that aren’t really provided
At one stage I was surrounded by 3 staff members demanding that I give them all the cash I had on me
In the end I paid over $400 Australian dollars for a game of golf and to hire some clubs that looked like they came out of a thrift store at best as nothing matched I just had 11 random clubs in a bag with a broken Odessay putter and a caddy
There is no ATM in the club and yiu can’t call a taxi to pick you up at the end either
It was the worst golf experience I have ever had

番禺蓮花山高球會The Lotus Hill Golf Club at PanYu in China just simply unsafe:
1. They didn’t pick up members , no shuttle bus provide, even they have made a reservation
As the AGM, Gary, he represented the club and claimed that even if the members make a reservation, they don’t necessarily have to provide the pick-up service .
Gary basically responded to members’ complaints about his ill management style by shirking responsibility, and made a lot of excuses.
2. Their front door carpet is wet and slippery, they did Not keep it dry and put a sign , it cause member to slip, fell and injured quite seriously.
3. No staff or medication or first aid service provided to member after the injury. There was no help, no medical treatment, no one even attempted to check on the injured person cause by their slippery floor.
4. Poor Room utilities, the water volume from the tub was so small, and the cold and hot water was basically either extremely cold/ hot, very unstable and uncontrollable.
5. INSURANCE, In no part of the conversations with Gary had he mentioned about the venue insurance that had the resort/ golf course covered.
6. Extremely poor caddie service and attitude, not professional at all.

It's a must-go if you visit Guangzhou! It's quite far from the city (around 1 hour trip by metro) but it's totally worth it! Plan a day to visit this place and another of the Chimelong Parks or the Chimelong Circus. It is huge! You should allocate at least 5 hours to see most of the attractions, and there are some shows that run on specific schedules. The Safari ride is amazing! You get to see the animals from very close range and you get crazy looking at both sides of the road! There is so much to see that words wouldn't be enough to describe it, just go see it by yourself, you won't regret it!

The drive-in part is rather short... we stopped at each area a good 10ish minutes and we're done in less than 90 minutes? So the extra US$50 to enter with a private car is not exactly a bargain, but definitely worth it...
The animals don't come to your car; they tell you to stay inside your car, but almost everyone sticks their head out of the sunroof for a better view...
Their guided trains (20-30 minutes) are actually window-less and cage-less... seems pleasant
There are actually gaps between you and all the territorial animals (net barrier for tigers). There are nearly 30 giraffes roaming at the end and are barrier-free. My kids loved them and we spent the most time there...
we parked the car and entered the zoo on foot afterwards...
- white tigers jumping into a pool for food in front of you (gapped by glass)
- elephant show
- pandas
- free roaming sloths (something about they couldn't get away)
- feeding giraffes (again, my kids favorite)
- birds flying over our heads
- cable cars...
we had a whole bunch of food inside, the beef and veggie pizza was surprisingly decent

Expect to spend the whole day if you want to experience all the attractions inside. Lots of restaurants and good signage. It's best to visit off peak when there isn't a lot of people so you can get enough time to visit the animals without feeling rushed. Walking distance from the Hanxi Changlong metro station.

What an amazing parc
Easy to reach by metro line no 3.
Prices are different during weekdays and weekend/holiday days. Weekend at 350RMB pp discount for elderly and children. So it might turn out to be a somewhat expensive day trip, however, worth it. What a beautiful parc.
Best to start with a gondel trip to get a good impression of the parc. Directions are overall very well indicated. You will need a full day to see all. Lots of places to sit dow and relax. Also plenty of restaurants and snack/drink stalls. Food bit pricey.
The parc is very well maintained, animals have plenty of space and are very well looked after. They have a special white tiger program and also a special panda program to protect these endangered species. The tiger cubs are amazing.
There is an option to buy special tickets to also visit one of the other theme parks that are located next to the Safari park but that would for sure be too to do in one day. Hopefully you will
Enjoy as much as we did.

This is a water park with many activities. It is a five minute walk from Hanxi Changlong Subway Station.
This was my top one or two favorite places to see in China. Though from the outside. I paid for the ride to the top of the tower but they have other things that block the view. If I had to go back and do it all over again I might still go to the top just one time, but truly the best view is from outside.

This building is one of the highest TV tower in the world with 604 metres tall. There is nothing around it, not suitable for Sightseeing at the round, if you would like to get in and go up to it so you will have to pay about 200 Yuan for a person during 1 hour at dinner time, it would be fantastic and you will see the view of all the city.

Shamian Island, located in the heart of Guangzhou along the Pearl River, is often overlooked by tourists despite being one of the city's top points of interest. This small island, connected to the mainland by several bridges, boasts a charming European-style ambiance with its buildings and tree-lined streets. While it may not have many attractions, it offers a pleasant environment for leisurely strolls and is steeped in history, as evidenced by informative plaques scattered around the island.

You can also find many interesting restaurants and cafes around and if you don't mind about using some bucks to spend here, then feel free to visit any of your preferred places and relax. There is not much to see there. It is not well maintained and the buildings are quite old and needs renovation. I was hoping the government will rebuild it to make it a tourist attraction. Shamian Island has great historic significance. From the Song (960 - 1279) and the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911), it served as an important port for Guangzhou's foreign trade. Then, it became a strategic point for city defense during the second Opium Wars (1856-1860). In 1859, the territory was divided into two concessions, given to France and United Kingdom (of which 4/5 went to the British and 1/5 to the French). There are 150 buildings and each building has a label telling its former purpose. One may start to imagine what stories these building held while viewing the plaque writing about its previous function. One example is "No.7 North Shamian Avenue" which was built during the Republican period and was formerly the Administration Bureau of Broadcasting of the Nationalist Government. The mansions there form the best preserved Western Europe style building complex in China. Forty-two out of 150 buildings are counted as the most exotic ones, Gothic, Baroque, and Neoclassical, in Guangzhou.
The national park Baiyun Mountain is a popular spot for locals and tourists to hike and enjoy the spectacular views. It is also home to a number of cable cars that take visitors up to the peak for an amazing view. The park is expansive, with many trails that wander through the dense forest and high peaks.
This is a welcome sight after being in the city for 5 days catch the cable car to the top and then walk all around the rest off the park ..then you can walk all the way back down to the bottom I highly recommend it to anyone

This place is stunning, one of the UNESCO site. It's not the easiest to get to, but totally worth it. The area is made up of 3 area of different mountain group. Of which, 2 areas have paths set-up for trekking/hiking. While the last (furthest from entrance 1 is natural hike) location - locals suggested for us to not visit as many hikers get lost with no signals there.
We completed each area in 3 hours without much stops. Can be strenuous if you're not usually active. If you're looking to do a leisure strolling pace, might want to consider a 2D1N here. Tickets are valid for 48 hours from date of purchase.
Purchase the tickets outside the entrance (ignore the touts and go straight into the official purchasing counter). Once you enter the main entrance there are free buses every 30minutes to bring you into each area's entrance.
Along the mountain trails there are small shops around to purchase snacks and drinks. Regular paths are rather clear - no guides needed. We didn't take the forest paths.
Be prepared to see endless natural mountain views. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.

It showcases exhibits on his life and times, including his childhood residence where he lived for 17 years with his family. As one of the four most prestigious academies over the last 1000 years in China, Yuelu Academy has been a famous institution of higher learning as well as a centre of academic activities and cultures since it was formally set up during the Northern Song Dynasty. The academy was converted into the Hunan Institute of Higher Learning in 1903. It was later renamed Hunan Normal College, Hunan Public Polytechnic School, and finally Hunan University in 1926. Yuelu Academy was once a center of Confucian learning in China.

Tianmen Mountain National Park is a vast forested park located on a mountaintop. Visitors can reach the park through the longest passenger cable car in the world, which covers 7.5 kilometers of distance and takes around 30 minutes to complete using its 98 cabins. The cable car ride costs RMB 250/- per ticket and offers stunning views while climbing towards Heaven's Door, also known as Tianamen Mountain cave.

Really cool experience, worthy to see and visit. It’s very crowded and there is more way hot get up. The most popular is half an hour long cablecar but for example in august you have to buy tickets at least one week in advance. The other way to get up or not bad either 👍
Ondřej Huk — Google review
Time well spent. You need one day to see all. Going up is best with the cable car (instead of bus). You get there in 30 minutes. However, queing took us around 1h (and it was not so busy). Try to book an early time slot and go in time. Once up the mountain, take the West line. The first part of the trail is crowded with tourists, but you'll get used to it. The glass covered sky walks are not perticularly interesting, since the glass has lost a bit of its transparency and looking over the edge gives you a similar view. The temple on the top of the mountain is magnificent. Take the time to visit it. You'll be amazed. From the temple onwards, the trails are less crowded. Go further untill Kunpeng Peak and get back to the Tianmen elevator to the Tianmen gate top. Finish your walk by walking down the stairs and take your time to look around. No need to go back up. Take your bus back at the bottom.

The cable car ride was worth every penny we spent on the RMB 250/- ticket. It’s hard to describe how it feels when you are climbing in it towards the heavens door; you really need to experience it yourself as I can’t find words to describe my feeling as you will too.
If it’s a full day trip you can relax and travel around the mountain in a slow pace

August 11th 2017: We went up by cable car and we descended by bus. Cable car it's really amazing and not recommended for those with panic (like me :P) the views are unique and the sensation of going through over the cliff it's amazing as you can see in the pictures. The door to the sky it's also unique, the 999 stairs are so vertical and built for small food so those with big feet will suffer a bit, even more if it rain and make the surface slippery!! I recommend you that if you come from the top and you descend it, to go up through them, it's a must! Up there there are some places that offer food and drink for reasonable prices

The best place ever in China to holiday. This is one of favorite places, for me in china. I came here when it was night and its beautiful. The location and the night view. Its all the best. But the next day when we came here again, it was rain and foggy day. I'm not reccomend it when it was rain hard and foggy like that. But in that picture you can see some tianmen mountain with a fog on it. It's still looking good but you cant stay there for a long time. Its too cold to stay there.

Guess what? I love here! The scenary over here was so breathtaking and awesome. You will experience this gorgeous tianmen mountain, and the 99curve road (journey back with bus), the longest escalator and also the cable ride.
Young people, do climb up and down for the 999 steps of staircase. I tried and you have to experience it. It was so cool. Watch your steps as the staircase are very narrow. If you conquer this, u are a hero!

The cable ride to the top is fun but the top itself isn't too impressive. Once you reach the stairs with the big natural arch you'll be jaw dropped at the scene. Watch your step going downstairs. Family friendly. Best photos of the arch are taken from the very bottom of the stairs.
Baofeng Lake is situated in the Suoxi Valley Nature Reserve and is a popular tourist attraction in Zhangjiajie. It is the sole lake scenic spot present in this region and functions as a reservoir for crop irrigation, complete with a dam. Baofeng Lake Scenic Area has been designated as a World Natural Heritage site since 1992, encompassing two areas: Baofeng Lake and Yingwo Stockaded Village.
The fog made everything more magical ✨ It was less crowded and energy-zapping 🙏🏼 I also went on a amazing boat ride where you could bring back a guy/girl if you reciprocated their singing, which is a very interesting custom.
Waiting time for the boat ride could take some time!
Kevon Tan — Google review
Honestly, quite disappointing. The whole thing felt really fake - the actual lake is artificial so it just looks like an unatural flooded valley - becasue it is (and probably caused a ton of environmental damage). And then you go round on the boat past some people in costumes singing, which I know is symbolic and traditional but the way you just go past looking at them feels really inauthentic, like you're on a theme park ride. It was pretty I guess. I went in mid March and all the walking paths were closed, so literally the only thing you can do is go on a 5 minute bus, 20 minute boat and then bus back. There's a waterfall section with museum too but that's so small it can be seen in way less than 30 mins. So for ¥95 (for entry plus boat) it was not good value, felt like an inauthentic theme park and just boring. Wish I'd gone back into Zhangjiajie National Park instead.

Shape imagination while enjoying the lake view along with different rocky mountains is the main adventure of the Chinese traditional boat journey through the lake. The lake has an average depth of 72 meter with an maximum depth of 169 meter approximately. Mountain love songs are one of sweetest parts to enjoy the boat journey, sung by male & female, individually, they wait in two separate cottages located at the feet of mountains & when any boat crosses their cottage they start to sing loud to cheer the tourists. It also includes a bus journey through the snaky mountain road. At the terminal point, there is also a natural flow of a large amount of water coming down to mountains feet. A small pond exists there, colorful fishes swim to get some adore from the cheerful tourists. A baby fish, age of almost 70, lives there in a pond, people gives him coins & notes to make fulfill the wishes they want. A baby fish lives nearly around 150 years of life span. It's about 4 feet in length & 12-15kg in weight. Moreover, you may have an amazing visit to Baofeng Lake for half a day if you plan to go there in near future.

The guided tour includes interesting stories about the cave's history and features like two doors symbolizing happiness and long life. Physically challenging, and I won't recommend to anyone with bad knees, unfit or elderly persons.
Visited this Yellow Dragon Cave (Huanglongdong) on Monday, 11 March 2024, as the original optional tour "Fairy Fox Show" was cancelled (under renovations).
Only a short boat ride (less than 10 mins) inside the cave, but there's a long treacherous walk up and down the narrow, steep, wet, slippery steps uphill and downhill...
There's a total of 4 stages of physically demanding walking after the boat ride. Stage 3 is the resting point and short cut to the cave exit. But even that, it's still a long 20-30 mins walk from Stage 3 to the exit.
Kindly take note that the "rude" young lady cave Guide will not allow anyone to turn back and drop out, and will try to coax everyone to complete this long physically challenging cave walk.
W. Chang — Google review
Huanglongdong or Yellow Dragon Cave is a last minute replacement Option to our original Fairy Fox Show (ongoing renovations) under our Zhangjiajie Tour package.
I don't recommend this option tour for elderly persons, unfit or anyone with weak knees.
There's a long hike thru steep, narrow, and wet stairs (numerous up and down stairs) after the short boat ride.
There's NO TURNING BACK. Go at your own risk.

One of the world largest stalactites and stalagmites formation in the world inside this cave. It was a large cave and lots of steps like more than 500 steps required to walk thru out with combination of walking and boat ride. Not so special as the lighting rather too much and colorful. Cost RMB 100 per person to enter and do remind yourself it is warm inside the cave especially when you come in winter that you wear lots of winter clothing. Walk for 2.5 hours with guided tour over 4.5km distance can be a challenge for many. Some of the stalactites and stalagmites was huge and there over million of years.. you can skip if you don’t have time to visit as there are many similar one in the world!
Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon is a stunning geological formation that boasts the world's longest and highest glass bridge, providing visitors with panoramic views of the surrounding valley, mountains, rocks, and waterfalls. To reach the bridge from the other side of the mountain, visitors must walk down into the valley and then hike up to their destination. An elevator can help save some steps, but hiking is still required.
One of the highlights of our Zhangjiajie Tour. Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon is famous for its Glass Bridge, which is the longest and highest outdoor glass bridge in the World.

Grand Canyon and the Giant glass bridge, 大峡谷,玻璃桥。The trial is, we need to walk down the valley and cross the bridge from the other side of the mountain. along the way you can see all the amazing valley, mountains, rocks and a waterfall which flow out from the middle of the rock mountain. On the way of walking up, there is a elevator that help you to saved a few steps, but generally you still need to do a lot of hiking. When you are on the top of the mountain, the giant glass bridge is waiting for you, u need to cross the bridge go back to the main building complex. Enjoy the scary moment and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Grand Canyon.

A must-see. Most people visit this place to walk on the glass bridge, but it has a lot more to offer. The glass bridge itself is interestingly built, using big glass plates. However, since many people have walked on them, their transparency is a bit lower than expected. Do take the time to visit the grand canyon as well. It showcases nice extremely blue rivers, special fauna and has some typically Chinese extra's, such as a slide, a death ride (both for 30 yuan pp) and a free boat ride. Worth the time.
Cedric Bru — Google review
Good views from the glass bridge, although it's not entirely glass, only glass pieces within the metal bridge. The bridge is not as scary as it seems, people just made a big deal about it. Just walk through it! Hugeeeeee crowds even though it's not peak season, you won't be able to get a picture without people in the background. Walking sticks or huge-sized cameras are not allowed.
Real challenge comes when walking the 1680 stairs down to the canyon. Not recommended for people who're not physically fit in case your legs go weak.
The walk along the river is easy with walking paths nicely laid. Get prepared with umbrella or raincoats as you'll get wet while walking along the river due to multiple waterfalls along.
A boat ride to end the visit to the grand canyon. Mountain/canyon view is good too.
Recommended to visit once in your lifetime for the magnificent views despite of the never ending crowds.
Jeen Ching — Google review
If you want to know whether you are afraid of height or no, then you should try this one haha. The bridge connected two-top of the hills, but the glass is only placed in the mid section of the bridge hehe.
It's quite entertaining, as it is the first for me to step on this glass bridge. It sometimes can be too crowded, but managed to take photos on some of the glasses when not many ppl ard haha.
You need to buy the ticket at least one day in advance, and you need to enter at the allocated time. If not, your ticket will be gone. Just bring some essential things, no DSLR, no mirrorless. Or you need to put this on the storage room, and get this back when you finished (the entrance and the exit is on a two different area).
After glass bridge, theres also a trekking at the Zhangjiajie grand canyon (optional)

This is the largest Power Plant in the world with an installed capacity of 22,500 MW. There are 32 number of 700 MW turbines. The Dam is constructed across Yangtze River and the total relocation was around 20 million. Everything about this power plant is enormous. This is a modern wonder of mankind. The water capacity and everything about this power plant is so huge. This has been rejected by many construction companies considering the impact it creates. But at last China could do it on their own. The ship transferring canal too is one of the man made wonders.

Impressive to see the world's largest dam. In my view there's no need to buy any of the short ship tours nearby. The entrance fee will shuttle you by bus from viewpoint to viewpoint. When I visited it was winter, so the smog/fog mix certainly obstructed the view. Nevertheless the project is very impressive and the viewpoints well-chosen and decorated.

This hydropower dam in the mainstem of the Yangtze river is a disaster for people and wildlife. It is altering the flow and the hydro morphology of the river, hence creating problems with water availability downstream. It has the potential to decrease the fish stock and creating environmental and water quality problems and the extinction of fish species and river dolphins.

This dam was the only reason I came to Yichang, and I must say it was worth the trip. Despite the controversy surrounding its construction, the structure is doubtlessly a feat of engineering brilliance. There are almost no Western tourists visiting the dam, so if you decide to go here you'll most certainly be the first among your friends.

A beatiful place that shows the full expanse of one of the world's marvels of engineering. The park is a worthwhile walk just for the views.

Huashan Mountain, also known as Flower Mountain, is located 120 kilometers east of Xi'an City in China. With an elevation of 2200 meters above sea level, it is one of the Five Great Mountains of China and offers breathtaking natural beauty that has inspired legendary tales of martial arts masters. The landscape features sharp terrain and mist-covered peaks reminiscent of classical Chinese paintings.
Using the cable car to go to this mountain was one of the scariest moments of my life.
If you are afraid of the heights,do not go!!!

Huashan is one of the Five Great Mountains of China, beyond beautiful, the sharp outlines of the terrain, the white stone of the mountain and the mist surrounding it all, reminds one of classical Chinese paintings. You can understand why this landscape inspired stories of legendary martial arts masters. Highly recommended, and a must see if you are in Xi'an.
In saying that, be warned that it was a 4 hour trek to get from base to the North peak with one break and a few quick rest stops. The path started with paved gradual inclines and as you approach the top it became damp, the steps became steeper and narrower. Some steps were so steep, the only way to climb up is to use a chain bolted into the rocks as a handrail. I would say the trek is considered difficult for the average person, increase your fitness levels before visiting if you're planning to climb up, otherwise take the cable car! Wear reliable shoes and bring lots of water and some food as well. It's also worthwhile to note that Huashan is not free from the infamous crowds of China. We decided to take the cable car back down which required about a 2 hour wait.

Located in ShanXi Province, about 120 kms from XiAn City, Mount Hua is one of the Great Five Mountains of China, chosen by their geographic locations to represent 5 Elements, 5 Cosmic Deites, and 5 Cardinal Directions ( East, South, West, North, Plus Center). As Imperial Pilgrimage sites throughout Chinese History, these five Mountains are very popular tourist attractions. Representing West, Metal and White Deity, Mount Hua has the highest mountain peak among them all , characterized by its steep Cliffs and rugged mountain slopes. If you love Mountain adventures and sceneries, China should be on your priority list indeed. It is recommended that you should try your best to avoid Public Holidays in order to avoid crowds ---- Which is a tip applied to all tourist attractions in China. Two photos from my visiting.

Plank walk was an amazing experience.

Great mountain bike but the lines are long. We arrived at the ticket station for the West cable car at 11am and it took 3 hours before we stepped into the gondola. Likewise it was 90 minutes from time we arrived at the top of the West car until we stepped into the gondola. The top of the mountain is all up and down so you need to be fit. We spent 4 hours on the top.

great place to hike, be with nature, shout, take pictures, etc. a lot of walking . make sure to wear comfortable shoes with a good traction. some areas are slippery. also plenty of uphills hence train your heart before this journey. this is not recommended for those with disabilities (unfit, no endurance, weak leg muscles -will easily tire). they can use the cable car and walk for a few meters but not travel from south to north then east. not recommended if not ready. bring water. or buy water on the mountains. cloud covered mountains is not unusual. may find trails very heavily trafficked/busy with oceans of tourists. must be in your bucket list if you love mountains, good hike, and beautiful sceneries.

Really beautiful place that's definitely worth trek up! Most fitness levels are able to do this, as the trails are mostly paved stairs and we saw a couple of people actually wearing sundresses and heels going up and down. Make sure to really be aware of your surroundings, as there's not very good crowd control, especially at more popular scenic spots. So sometimes there's quite a lot of pushing and only a central chain rope to hold onto for stability. While we were here, the line for the plank walk was roughly a 2-3 hours wait, so be prepared to wait on average for that amount when coming here. They also have some food stalls along the top, so if you're not bringing lunch, you can stop here for noodles!
Note: Visited prior to COVID, so things may be different.

It is quite a trek to get to the top of the mountain. There are lots of stairs and a gondola ride plus some driving, but once you are up there it has amazing views if you are lucky to have a clear day. I really enjoyed the visit. You can spend a good few hours here just don't forget that the gondolas stop at a certain time. It is known for having the world's most dangerous hike, but we just walked around and did not do the hike, which was just fine. It is best to be in good condition while visiting because there is some high stairs and plenty of walking.

Simply a must visit destination if you are a fan of martial arts novelist Jin Yong. Even if you are not, what this mountain offers will not disappoint.
Ascending it on foot is reserved for the adventurous and super fit for it is a long long hike up the thousands of steps, zigzagging as it makes its way up (see photo).
Ascending it in a gondola / cable car is recommended. The ride doesn’t last long, around 10 minutes, but the view you get is nothing but spectacular.
Once you arrive at the cable car station at the bottom of Huashan, the vertigo already begins to hit you. With the grand scale of the mountain as the backdrop, what you see when you raise your head are many tiny, super tiny, gondolas suspended in mid air. You wonder immediately how they are hung. The answer is that the cables holding the gondolas are just too thin and far to be discerned. (see photo). If you are faint-hearted, this one glance may send shivers down your spine. You may even ask yourself the question: ‘Do I really want to take this ride?’
Once you reach the top, there are 5 peaks to visit. 100% of visitors, like me, wouldn’t miss the North Peak as it has the best vantage point to look at why Huashan is so famous. Most visitors will also hike up to the Middle Peak which offers a reverse view of the North Peak. If you have time, and the energy, you may continue to the West and East Peaks. From my observation, it is mostly the young and adventurous who circumnavigate all the peaks of Huashan.

This is a must do if you are heading to Xian region.
The hike up is not for the faint of heart. If you are faint of heart, be sure to get the optional life insurance at the start of the hike.
The most amazing thing about this hike is not the views, or the journey itself, it's that there are little convenience stores sprinkled along the entire way, and tons of locals who act like this hike is no small feat.
Bring comfy shoes, and be prepared to have your breath taken away.

Well worth a visit if you’re in Xian. To get to the gondola you need to take a bus within the site, followed by about 10 minutes of steps up the mountain before reaching the gondola station. There are walks once you reach the top so allow sometimes to enjoy the view from different peak.

We bought our ticket from the tourist center and entered the bus to the west gate. Those who want to trek the mountain can start their trekking from the pathway starting near the tourist center which takes around 8-10 hours
It took us 40 mins to reach the west gate entrance and we walked around 500 m to reach the cable car station.
There are totally 5 peaks in Hua Shan namely East, West, South, North and middle. The plank walk is in the south peak and the chess pavilion is in the west peak, which are the major two attractions of this place.
Irrespective of these dangerous trekking pathways you can still find people of all ages climbing these paths enthusiastically. Near the south peak summit behind the rest house you can find the entrance to the plank walk. When you walk along the narrow pathway made from cutting down the mountain stones you reach the point where you must wear the safety harness to proceed further as it’s the only thing that’s holding your life from ending. The rent cost of the harness is RMB 30/-, and you can keep your belongings on the opening in the side which is not so safe but there are no other options. It is preferred not to bring too expensive things in your shoulder or hand bag if you plan to do the plank walk.
The pathway ends in a small cliff with a small temple carved out in the mountain which is not of much importance as this trekking has become like an adventure sport and people rarely care about the temple. Such kinds of trekking are very rare in the world for common people and such rush of blood can only be experienced here.
The return journey is through the same way we came and the whole journey in and out of the plank walk on a day when there are fewer tourists can be completed in 1 hour. What we experienced can be written in words but the feeling we got cannot. It’s a must do before you die adventure and can be written in your bucket list, as for us we have already scratched that from our list.
