It was great but because it was such a nice day, it was filled with people and could t take pictures without getting strangers automatically in it.

Beautiful place to walk and enjoy nature. The main attraction is a trail that goes across a swamp in a wood ramp. It's easy and not too long but provides a unique experience. The view is just fantastic.

Beautiful walk with lots of wildlife to observe. Well sign posted and flat, well maintained trails.

Lovely walk in Magog to unwind and just take a breath of fresh air. If you stop and sit in one of the bench in the forest you get to hear and watch birds and other animals play or fight.
🅿️ fairly cheap parking, $5 / 2h which was enough to go around the different trails.

Gorgeous place to go walk with friends or family. Super easy with small children as there is no incline and it’s super interesting for them ☺️

We loved it. It is a long walk so our 4 year old got a bit tired. But we saw lots of flora and fauna

Gorgeous wetland with a great variety of wildlife. There are many frogs, turtles, and birds around, if you know where to look, so bring binoculars! Highly recommend kayaking or canoeing, if you get the chance. The interpretation center is fantastic also, and I recommend popping in for a quick look, if you get the chance. My only criticism is that the park and all the trails are small, but it's a little gem of a place that is worth a visit

Lovely walk with five dollar parking fee. More for locals then a hot spot tourist spot. Still a cool place to walk if you don't want to hike orford. Take it easy and enjoy the view.
Une belle place pour marcher, c'est cool, Le parking ce n'est pas cher. Fait le si tu as vu tout au Magog.
Replica of a Quebec village circa 1810–1930, with many vintage buildings & costumed actors.
Amazing place for everyone that is interested in history. The moment you cross that tunnel to get to the village, you feel like you're in the early 1900. The characters are all playing their roles extremely well, they will interact with you like you were someone coming from the future and they will show and explain to you their way of living. I personally loved it, i learned a lot of things. 👌

Very pretty environment and friendly staff. Overall a pleasant Christmas experience but don't go expecting to eat a meal there, make sure you bring some sandwiches in a backpack. They ran out of food at the restaurant, but they do have plenty of shops where you can buy baked goods

I am an Anglophone who speaks French well. Although I didn't understand all the expressions used by that day (ex: by the town cryer, at the x-ray and the "idea inventing" machine) I thoroughly enjoyed the village experience. The villagers stay in character all day (they move around in the village) and they have some adorable story lines (the men who came back from their 10-month logging trip, the pregnant wife who complains about her husband, etc). You begin by entering a time machine tunnel (very effective) and you can spend hours there with family or friends (any age). The experience this year was very different from last year so I don't know if this was a (positive) one time upgrade or if they change the village experience from time to time.

My partner and I were not expecting the long waits in line to get into each of the haunted houses. I feel that they should have a limit of reservations per day, so that people don’t have to wait in line as long. We waited close to an hour for some of them…
Also, we are very disappointed by the fact that we were RUSHED out of the haunted houses, we wanted to take our time and look at all the cool and intricate decorations that they had. Why invest so much time and money into the decor when the visitors don’t even get the chance to PROPERLY look at them?!
Overall, the decor and actors were very good but there’s a lot in terms of the organization that could be better…

Great place to spend time with kids. Mine 9 years old was really impressed and enjoyed the trip. Old style thematic houses are really special, well maintained and acteurs gives pretty interesting explanation what it was for post office, pharmacy, doctor’s office, barber and a lot more. It has a little farm where you could get by horse forced wagon. There is a little train, ice-cream, donuts, bakery with fresh bread. Worth to spend entire day there! We’re definitely coming back there.

Was disappointed that a lot was closed for a Saturday night. The wooded trail was closed and that's a big reason why we paid to go. They could've posted a warning online. Personally for 40$ each person and we didn't get to do everything, not because we didn't have time but due to the fact it was closed because of rain. It's our own choice and money. Being in a haunted village you would expect to trip and fall on a tree root even during rain or shine. Their excuses weren't valid. Especially since they had pretty good warning signs of not being responsible for any injuries mentally and physically. Don't think I'll go back since a lot we wanted to attend was closed or started to close and say goodbye to people at 22:00 instead of 23:30. No warning online about any of the events or trails being closed that night or closing early due to rain. The actors did good I was enjoying the atmosphere but personally the fact I enjoyed the pop up trailer haunted machine more than anything else. To me that's a personal bust. They had so much potential. If maybe more stayed open especially the woods I would've found it more worth the drive as well as the cost for entry but we were very disappointed. We would've changed our tickets for another day if we knew some of the attractions were closed. We showed up at 19:30.

We visited the village during Christmas of 2020. Everything was well organized and Covid restrictions are well respected. We enjoyed seeing the old buildings and the Christmas vibes. Lots of lights and Christmassy music. It is a nice activity but dress appropriately because all the activities are outside.

My girlfriend and I went for Halloween. The organizers should be ashamed of themselves. They overbooked the event. We waited 2 hours for a single haunted house, it was NOT worth it. After the long line I lost all interest and we left. Considering how much they charge and how many people were there, then they should have increased their budget for actors too. Not nearly enough of them going around. Awful event and a huge cash grab.
Tyler Wood — Google review
Compared to last year and the year before last year, it was so boring and exhausting! Some of the houses did not even have something to provide! You just enter from one door and exit from the other one without anything existing!
The had also canceled out some trails in the woods which was so exciting!
The one which starts from the church! Thus time it was only the church and even the subject was not at all exiting!
I WAS THE FAN BEFORE, BUT NOT RECOMMENDING IT ANYMORE!

Storied zoo featuring more than 200 animal species, plus thrill rides & an Amazon-themed water park.
We brought my son here for the first time and he loved seeing all the different animals. The lions, rhinos, giraffes and zebras were his favorite and they were all close enough to the edge of their enclosures that we got a fantastic view. Some of the monkeys seemed to be a bit sick but apart from that the animals looked healthy. There was lots to see and all in all it made for a great afternoon trip.

Price might seem as a little expensive, but if you know that there is a wave pool and tons of free rides, plus 4 continents of exotic animals, it’s pretty incredible that they can keep it at that price!
It takes a full day visit. We visited when the wave pool was not open and arrived at noon. We stayed until 5 and were exhausted (mostly because of heat). So if you arrive at the opening at 10am, at a not too hot day, you should plan for a whole day, from opening to the closing.
Most of the animals seem healthy and well treated. The little ones will learn so much about the animals they saw on TV or Disney movies! Amazed by the muscleman gorillas, by the shear size of the hippopotamus, and the elephants. The animators of the snake, the gorillas and the elephants were super fun for the kids and full of knowledge and they are passionate of sharing their knowledge too!
My son and I had a blast with Lego animal constructions!

Good time with kids. I would recommend you go a week day if you can place was PACKED! And if your not from Montreal plan a hotel and take the two day pass you won’t have time in just 1 day to see everything! I Bought my tickets online so i just walked in no line up

Went to this place with family and do recommend as a great family friendly activity, with loads of animals, long walks and activities for kids. Beware of the expensive admission fee though. They have some XL sized Ginger Tabby cats and a ride that takes you through the good portion of the zoo.

This is a fun zoo outside of Montreal. It’s not too big so it’s great for younger kids.
Several of the buildings are not stroller friendly. Most of the Door openers don’t work so you’re awkwardly holding the firing trying to get a stroller in. The cafeteria doesn’t have a stroller or wheel chair entrance.
The nursing room in the cafeteria was also disgusting. Covered in toilet paper And it smelled like someone had peed all over it. There is also only one in the entire zoo.

My family & I really enjoyed the zoo! My toddler was so excited to see all the animals. He really enjoyed it. Lots of space to walk around & enjoy the outdoor setting. Tickets are affordable. Kafiteria food was ok, but I would recommend bringing your own lunch.

Great very big zoo. If you want to have enough time to see and do everything definitely make sure to arrive before noon. Parking could use some work since p2 is so far away.

Visited Granby Zoo last Saturday and despite the crowds, we were pleasantly surprised to find no waiting times. Once inside, the expansive size of the zoo made it feel uncrowded.
The variety of activities available was impressive, with the standout being the captivating shows featuring different animals presented by the zookeepers.
However, there was a slight letdown as a significant number of animals seemed to be asleep and unengaged with visitors, almost as if they were completely hidden from view. Nevertheless, the zoo proved to be an excellent family outing that I wholeheartedly recommend. The food court was efficiently organized, and the pricing appeared reasonable.
Arriving around 10:45 am, I was able to secure a convenient spot in the P1 parking area, which is in close proximity to the main entrance. Additionally, purchasing tickets online in advance streamlined the entry process.

So for a first timer , we heard so many great things about Granby Zoo, and ended up dissapointed in it to say the least. First of all for a family of 4 (youngest is 2 years old) 97 CAD is a lot !!! And an extra 13 CAD to rent the stroller which is in the gift shop (a 1o min walk from the entrance ), and believe me if you have young kids you will need a stroller or carrier because it is a huge place (took us 4 hours and we didnt even visit it all) . Also bring finger food and snacks along, if you are visiting soon, coz only one restaurant was open and his options were limited to fast food.
On the good side ,we got to see lots of animals , they have a paper map you can get on the entrance to help you navigate your way, it had a big variety of animals...
But if you have sensitive nose , some places are extra smelly 😷 so be careful

Great place to go with kids lots to see it takes more then a day to do everything cause they have a water park there.
Food is good and priced fair.

Fabulous place for kids and and adults. Beautiful and healthy looking animals. Lots of water pools. Getting food can be a bummer due to long lineups. Big enough to spend 4-5 hours without going in the pool. Highly recommended!

Buy tickets in advance to save money, we went on Canada Day twice now and enjoyed all the animals and attractions possible.
The Wave pool was way too cold to enjoy personally, but it's still fun if you are brave enough.
My 2 boys under 5 had a blast. A yearly tradition has been born.
Rental strollers and wagons are available at a reasonable cost.

We had a great time we started with zoo and the rest on the next weekend as we cannot finish all on the same day. It's a bit expensive but if you are planning to go more than 1 time.... then I recommend you to take the summer pass and visit as many times as you want.
Nadia Qulood — Google review
First of all if you don't arrive at the parking lot at 10am you may waste an hour waiting to park which is inconvenient, the right turn on red at several intersections here should be eliminated!
It is recommended to stay here for two days, one day to see the animals and one day in the water park, there are many types of animals also you can interact with the animals, for example, spend $3 to feed the parrots. The water park has several programs that are very exciting, especially the barrel slides. The rafting program is very suitable for parents and children to experience, smaller children need to wear life jackets. The bumper cars and carousel at the playground are especially popular with children.
Kevin Lee — Google review
We have been a few times already and this time the animals were more active than usual which was great. The experience, attractions and atmosphere are all really good. Don't miss feeding the birds early or petting the manatees, both at the Oceana section.
The bathrooms and facilities were pretty clean and easily accessible no matter where you are.
My only "complaint" is that the price has risen by 20$ per person since the last time we came 2 years ago so that shocked us a bit but the exhibits and the work they do at Granby would justify it somewhat.
They have a new area in the Asia section under construction so we are looking forward to that next year.

Be ready and well prepared for a four hour walking in different continents!
Stroller for kids is crucial, otherwise, parents will get nervous too much by tired kids.

I’ve been to a couple zoos in China and then I went to Granby “zoo”… this was a joke… most areas with the larger animals would have one or max 2 animals that usually didn’t have any energy and were far away. There were only two positive things I could think of. One it was not crowded but there wasn’t much to see anyways. Two the kids enjoyed staying in the water areas more than seeing the animals. I later brought them to a real water park to have more fun. Save your time money and energy from going here and choose another activity.

Fantastic zoo to visit... We went there about ten years ago and loved it. At the time we spent part of the day in the zoo and part of it in the water park. We decided to return and take our visiting relatives along, and despite the hot weather, we truly enjoyed the visit. Some of the animals were too hot and hiding, however we go close and personal with the Siberian Tiger and other animals. One particular experience was being able to touch and caress the stingrays, riding the camel and horse and pony (kids). The layout and map were not easy to read, but generally speaking, the flow is easy and will allow you to see the various sections of the zoo. You can bring your own food and I suggest bringing along a rolling cart (or you can rent one there for about $13). There are restaurants everywhere and ice cream shops as well. The staff is fantastic and very helpful and welcoming. Highly recommend this zoo for a family outing or visit.

Amazing weekend close the animals😊
The lions, elephants, zebra, rhinos.
I love it and my kid too
The place is pretty clean and well maintained
The part I dislike was the fact that the food offers in the park are mostly sweet and fast food, I think the choice is very limited
I truly advise you to bring your own sandwiches and drinks
The set up to visit is pretty well done so you experience the most out of it

My favorite zoo, super well done for family with young kids, also has waterpark and rides. My only complaint is it's pricey (ticket from 3+ years old) and the park opens only from 10am to 7pm in summer. It's impossible to do everything in one day and parking is not big enough to accommodate on busy weekends. We arrived after lining up for a while in cars to learn that parking is full and have to go elsewhere!!!

The Montreal Botanical Garden is an expansive, free attraction located in the heart of Montreal. It's known for its beautiful gardens and vast array of plant and animal specimens, as well as its annual Gardens of Light festival. Admission to the garden isn't free, but it's definitely worth it if you're in the city during autumn when the gardens are at their very best.
For non plant lovers and plant lovers alike this visit to the Gardens is not only aesthetically pleasing but informative and engaging. Staff felt very pleased to be team members here and therefore were very jovial in answering questions and facilitating queries. Visiting the different environments is absolutely gorgeous and diverse. It’s so astonishing to see the variety of foliage at this location. Would recommend to anyone who has some curiosity around plant life!

Beautiful gardens, tons of walking paths, many places to sit in the shade and admire the views. The presentations we saw were well done and interesting. We especially loved the Chinese garden. It was very hot today though and we didn't get to see many of the gardens - my back and feet just couldn't take the amount of walking.

The Montréal Botanical Garden is a must-visit destination, offering a delightful experience for all ages. One of the highlights for kids is the hands-on activity of making pizza using wood chips. It's a unique and fun way for children to learn about food and engage in a creative culinary adventure.
The garden also boasts a remarkable collection of herbs, showcasing their aromatic scents and medicinal properties. It's a wonderful opportunity for both children and adults to explore the world of herbs and discover their diverse uses.
Another enchanting feature of the Montréal Botanical Garden is its vast array of rose flowers. With their vibrant colors and captivating fragrances, the garden showcases a stunning variety of rose species. It's a feast for the senses and a perfect place for flower enthusiasts to indulge in the beauty of nature

An awesome planned botanical garden, a gem of Montreal's attractions.
We appreciate the greenhouse which houses many plants from the rain forest, the tropics, and from the arrid desert. This collection requires travels that an average person would not be able to make in his lifetime. The Chinese and Japanese gardens are authentically created, bringing out the beauty of each own. Chinese garden is more showy and large, while Japanese simple and minimalist. The rose garden is splendidly laid out, still shows some of its glory even though we visited it when the high bloom has passed. The Alpine garden is great, nesting around the rocks. The First Nation captured the spirit of the wild. Our most favorite is the every day garden the blends decorating flowers among vegetables and fruits. Very creative and practical.
Nice on-site restaurant with delicious food, a nice touch to round out the visit.
A must see in Montreal....

Beautiful garden. Unfortunately we had only planned to spend about 2-3 hours here, and due to time we never got through it all. I would definitely recommend planning at least a half a day maybe even longer. So many different plants and flowers to see, all artfully arranged. It is a fantastic garden. This would also be a great place to see multiple times a year just to see how it changes. Or different times a day. The flowers were lovely, in full bloom when we went. Plenty of places to take pictures, sit and enjoy the outside, or take a stroll among nature. We went during the week, early, and it wasn't too busy, however the parking lot was full when we left.

Must visit in Montreal. Beautiful gardens with a ton of variety, even at the end of April - very early in the season. You can spend a half-day or even the whole day seeing everything, given how extensive the gardens are. Right by the entrance, you’ll also find a charming small restaurant with a large outside patio for lunch.

The assortment of plants and trees are very good. It was good fun to roam around and look at the different plants from many different regions. My favourite was the Bonsai section. Can do the whole tour (indoor section - went during the winter months) in an hour and it is self paced. Wasn't too busy when we went. Paid parking on site - quite a lot of them.

One of my favourite gardens across North America, and rivals some of the best I’ve seen in the world! Tons of pretty flowers, interesting trees, arranged with care in various smaller (and educational) gardens like the First Nations garden, Chinese garden, and Japanese garden to name a few. Large variety of plants and landscapes plus events like tea ceremonies and lantern festivals means I love coming every few months to see what’s new! I’d highly recommend the Chinese garden in particular with the large pond, multiple pavilions and bonsai (-like?) collection! I’ve come alone, with friends and with family and it’s always a great time

I recently visited the Montréal botanical garden that left me in awe. From the moment I entered, I was captivated by the sheer beauty and tranquility that surrounded me.
The garden is a sprawling oasis of lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and diverse plant species. Each step revealed a new surprise, with meticulously curated displays showcasing the wonders of nature. The attention to detail in the arrangement of the plants and landscaping is outstanding.
The garden's amenities were excellent. Clean pathways made strolling through the garden a breeze, and there were plenty of benches and shaded areas to rest and admire the surroundings. The visitor center housed an extensive library and gift shop, offering a wide range of books, souvenirs, and plants to take home.
The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my visit. They were always ready to answer questions and ensure that every visitor had a memorable experience.
In conclusion, this botanical garden surpassed all my expectations. It is a haven of natural splendor, providing an escape from the bustling city life. Whether you are a nature enthusiast, a plant lover, or simply seeking a serene experience, this garden is an absolute gem. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone, and I am already planning my next visit.

Wow! Just blown away by this botanical garden. It's massive with a lot of of different gardens like Chinese, Japanese, Rose, Shade, Medicinal ... too many to list. And they have a massive Arboretum. Entrance fee is justified given how big and nice the gardens. Our favorite was the Chinese garden. We easily spent 2.5 hours and maybe covered half the property. They have benches scattered around the property where you can sit and relax and enjoy the beauty of the gardens.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Chinese and Japanese gardens. There is a photo of a woman that is promoted that is no longer here. But there is lot to do and experience. Wear long sleeve and bug spray. Lots of mosquitoes this time of year! Arrive early to avoid crowds. Definitely my favorite part of my visit.

Definitely worth the trip. The botanical gardens are beautiful and have so many different exhibitions. We went in late August and there were tons of blooming flowers and such a gorgeous variety of vegetation. Highly recommend going.

Visiting the Montreal Botanical Gardens was an experience nothing short of magical. This expansive oasis in the heart of the city is a true testament to the beauty and diversity of nature. With meticulously maintained gardens, each area offers a unique and breathtaking view.
The diversity of plant life is astounding. From the tranquility of the Japanese Garden to the vibrant colors of the First Nations Garden, each section tells a different story, allowing visitors to travel the world through its flora. The Chinese Garden, with its traditional architecture, is particularly stunning, especially during the lantern festival.
I was impressed by the educational aspect as well. The gardens are not only about beauty but also about learning and conservation. Informational signs are placed thoughtfully throughout, offering insights into the various plants and their ecosystems.
What truly makes the Montreal Botanical Gardens stand out is its commitment to providing a serene, natural environment for both relaxation and education. It’s a perfect place for a leisurely walk, photography, or even a picnic.
The staff and volunteers are knowledgeable and passionate, enhancing the experience with their insights and care for the gardens. It’s clear they are dedicated to maintaining this as a special place for all who visit.
Whether you’re a local or a tourist, a nature lover or just looking for a peaceful retreat, the Montreal Botanical Gardens is a must-visit. It’s a place where one can lose themselves in the beauty of nature and find a moment of peace in the bustling city.

A fantastic Botanical garden we planned our trip around. The exhibits and plants were well maintained. Looking at the map the area of the park was massive but the gardens only seemed to utilize less than half the land. I am curious to see if they plan to expand the exhibits. We went in the fall so the rose garden and a few other plants were already gone. It's probably best to visit the gardens in May, June or July. All in all it was a great trip and if you are visiting Montreal I cannot recommend it enough.

Huge botanical garden. Unfortunately we came here in late October where most of the plants were not blossoming. So the only interesting we see are in the greenhouse area. They do have quite a variety of plant species from all over the world. And I'm sure the place would have been beautiful during the warmer month. But we will have to come back and see it again for ourselves.

Stunning! The pictures don’t do its justice. We went during summer and bought tickets prior to save yourself from standing in line. In the front gate they have bathrooms and little stands to by snacks and drinks. Be prepared to walk but absolutely a beautiful experience

A struggle for the disabled. The lanterns on the water were wonderful but the walk was much longer then thought to get to it.
The path in the Chinese garden is a lot of broken up large stones with large cracks between them. Very nice to look at but for someone disabled they are a tough to walk on. The low lighting also makes it hard to choose your footing. I personally have weak ankles and on a good day do not need a cane, but during this walk I rolled my ankle. It wouldn’t be bad if the large gaps had not also caused me to stab a rock into the side of the foot. I feel like there also could have been some sitting areas, like benches, for people to have a rest after a long walk or to admire the beauty of the garden.
There is very little going on during this walk till the Chinese garden. Some mini light shows in the trees but beyond that it was a lot for just one area.
When leaving I found the disabled door out locked. I am unsure if I had to call someone to come open it but getting through the turning gate was a bit hard..
If I was more prepared and knew if there was a way to go right to the lights maybe it would of been easier on me. Maybe. But it was still very magical despite all the pain.

My boyfriend and I recently attended the Night Light Show at the Botanical Garden of Montreal, and it was nothing short of magical. This annual event is a mesmerizing journey through different cultures illuminated by a stunning play of light and botanical wonders.
The beauty of the displays was absolutely breathtaking. It’s the perfect setting for a romantic evening, and we found ourselves completely enchanted by the ambiance.
One of the standout features of this experience is its affordability, making it accessible to a wide range of visitors. Additionally, the ample on-site parking is a rarity in Montreal and was greatly appreciated.
We also took the opportunity to explore the Botanical Garden before Night Fall, and it’s like wandering through an outdoor museum. This year, the focus was on Chinese and native cultures, accompanied by a quick history lesson about the indigenous nations that inhabited Quebec, especially Montreal, before colonization. The incorporation of chants, light shows, smoke effects, music, and special effects added a layer of depth to the experience.
I can’t recommend this event enough. It’s a truly unique and memorable way to spend an evening. Make sure to visit the garden before nightfall to fully appreciate the wonder that is the Night Light Show. Don’t miss out on this breathtaking experience! 🌌🌿🌟

In the heart of Montreal stands the Notre-Dame Basilica, a stunning example of Gothic Revival architecture. With its colorful and dramatic interior, it regularly hosts musical events with the main concert on Christmas being particularly popular. At 300 yards long and 118 feet wide, it's one of the world's largest churches.
During COVID times, as with everything else, advanced reservations were required to enter. Purchased tickets for the light show here. It is one of the top ten greatest experiences I've ever had. The animations and accompanying music was absolutely breathtaking. After the show, the house lights came on and we were able to view the basilica in its natural splendor. A site not to be missed

It is the most beautiful church i have ever been to. The area is huge and the interior is so pretty. The statues and paintings all have history behind it. It was nice to know the our past is preserved in such an honourable way. The upper area was closed at the time. But the front alone is gigantic. You can sit there for hours and feel the serenity.

Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal is a masterpiece of architecture and art! The interior of the church is one of the most dramatic in North America if not the world! The deep blue color of the vaults is probably the most eye catching parts of the entire church. The church is also decorated with a series of beautiful paintings and hundreds of wooden carvings. The stained glass windows give a religious history of the foundation of Montreal. Don't overlook the spiral stairs in the church either. Topping it off is the gigantic pipe organ in the back of the church.
The building is definitely a must see however, a few things could be be changed. If you pay for a ticket you are not allowed in the second or third balcony of the church. There is a lot of great art up there that is hard to see from the floor level. Perhaps, the church could find someway to allow people access to these areas. Also, I don't know if they have guided tours but they wouldn't be a bad idea.
This place is a must see if you're in Montreal!

It was just superb and breathtaking. It was huge and made fantastic. There is ticket entry for visitors. You can buy it online before hand to save some time. Car parking is available on the street as well as there is public parking in just opposite to this. You can do prayer. There is separate chamber as well for prayer which is not allowed for visitors. Very well maintained.

This is a little bit of Europe right at home in Canada.. was honestly very impressed with how nice and ornate it was, definitely has the same or better grandeur than most European basilicas. The craftsmanship is incredible. Also they have quite clean and functional bathrooms which is a nice touch. There are some areas that are prayer only so photos should be avoided, and take off hats out of respect.
I also lost my wallet inside somewhere.. came back and asked.. they didn't know.. so I went searching and eventually one of the people working there came running for me and they found it! I was and am so genuinely thankful and grateful.
My only constructive criticisms are that for $15 per person the amount you get to see seemed limited.. it would be incredible if you could access upper levels. Also the gift shop was inexplicably closed which was sad!

A must see. After having visited scores of churches the world over, this one made me ready with a big WOW.
Lovely ambience, colourful stained glass work and aesthetic carvings.
The whole designing is simply in sync with the feeling.
Awesome and so well maintained.

While it’s truly magnificent from the outside, it will not be a complete experience without checking it from the inside! The interior is so stunning it will take your breath away. I wish I had the chance to see the Aura show but I will make sure to do so the next time we visit Montreal.

This is a beautiful cathedral, not as big as Notre Dame in Paris though, but having the same lines, stained windows etc as you find in all the major cathedrals in France, Germany etc - a stated elegance, not enrobed in lots of details as you find in the Portuguese and some Italian or Spanish cathedrals.
There was a small queue when we arrived here mid September and we had to pay the entry fee of 18 CAD (I think).
All the distances in this part of the town are very small and everything is a nice walk. This area reminds me a lot of many European cities, however downtown Quebec City is more on par with the gorgeous little historic places like Venice and Seville

It's definitely worth it. It's mesmerizing.
It's truly worthwhile – a captivating experience! For an additional $15, you can ascend upstairs and sit right in front of where a pianist performs the church's music, creating a fantastic experience. This performance occurs twice daily; I attended the 1:30 pm show. The surrounding neighborhood is also a delight to explore.

The Notre-Dame Basilica is a must visited place if you are exploring Montreal, Canada. You can order tickets online in advance so you don't have to stay in lines to purchase tickets at the entrance. They also have AURA experience (dynamic lights orchestral music) shows at 6pm on most of the days.
As you step inside, prepare to be awestruck by the intricate details that adorn the interior. Walk through the nave, the aisles, and gaze upon the stained glass windows. Admire the carved, painted, and gilded artwork, including delicate gold leaf embellishments.
The Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal isn’t just a historical relic; it remains an active place of worship.

This basilica is one of the most intricate pieces of art that I've seen as compared to a lot of the European counterparts. The Aura light show is definitely highly recommended. I would personally suggest to book the Aura experience and rather than double booking the viewing, see it while you're in for that.

Recommended for visitors to Montreal, it's really beautiful. Light show shows need to buy tickets in advance of the website, half an hour in advance to line up, so it is easier to find the right seat to enjoy the performance. The exterior of the church is being repaired and the interior environment is more beautiful.

Second time to the Basilica for the Aura experience. Absolutely fantastic! Best sound and light show I have ever been to. Doors open 30 minutes prior to show starting but please note this includes the time to walk around the Basilica to see the illuminated stations. It was recommended that you find your seats first as it is general admission and then one person stays back to save your seats while the others look at the stations and then you switch. Washrooms are located outside the Basilica. If possible try to sit in the centre/centre of the Basilica for the best experience.

Beautiful basilica. Lots of stained glass, seating, candles, statues and paintings. Main church area is more for the tourists. Smaller area in the back for silent prayer. Two floors were open when I went. $16 for adults and lots of family deals. There are toilets. Be aware of pickpockets! Truly divine. Recommend.

Amazing architecture and build centuries ago and still stands the test of time. You don’t need to be from the Christian faith to appreciate this marvel.
So serene, so quite so peaceful. You enter and you can feel the presence of divine power in this building. Spend some time here in peace and do some reflection of your own. What ever you believe in, you will feel better after as you reflect and all your thoughts will slowly running around.
Appreciate the architecture, the stained glass, the pews, the roof and all detailed work that has been done so long ago without the help of modern tools.

Mount Royal Park is a lush and colorful place located in Montreal. It features playgrounds, picnic sites, skating rinks, ski slopes, tennis courts, hiking trails, tobogganing hills and rowboating lakes. The park is huge and has something for everyone to enjoy.
A nice hike up. Quite challenging when the stairs are all covered in snow/frozen. Nevertheless, still a great place to walk around in. Saw a lot of people who were cross-country skiing, as well as people walking their dogs. The view would be nice in the evening, but I didn‘t wait for it😅

One of the most stunning urban parks around. I have visited this park in the dead of winter, as well as during the splendid summer, and it never ceases to amaze me how huge and fantastic the park is. The stairs can be treacherous in the winter, please wear appropriate footwear!
You can walk on nicely developed trails, or opt for more a more remote and wild variety; or you can opt to accelerate your ascent to the top by taking the stairs.
The view at the top is iconic, as is the cross on the other side of the mountain top.
The chateau at the top is also impressively large.
Try your best to see the city on a clear day, you can see as far as the mountains many miles away.
This park is so big that even when it’s busy, it is still quite tranquil.

It's a great place to go hiking in Montréal. There are many cool routes to explore and enjoy Nature. The landscape in autumn is different, but depending on the period you go, some paths will already be closed, as they begin to prepare the park for winter. I've been there in winter, and there are actually some paths that are dangerous to take, due to the risk of falls. If you follow the suggested route and wear appropriate clothing, you can enjoy all seasons. In each season it is as if you were in another park. The city is still beautiful seen from the top of Mont Royal. Remember that the temperature and thermal sensation is lower, and that it is usually windy there. And always carry water, there are not many points of sale available along the climb, depending on the route you take, water will be needed.

Zoo with many attractions such as an area for viewing animals from cars, a water park & shows.
Nice little spot to stop. Kids loved driving thru and seeing all the animals up close and far off. Getting up close and personal with the deer was also a nice touch. I can’t remember the food being anything special, so maybe bring your own and there was a spot at the end with some games for them to play.

It was just ok. The animals' cages/outdoor space were very small. It was a very hot and humid day and many animals did not have a proper cool off space. It was not a happy moment to see them lay off in the scorching heat. The park had issues with the waterpark tickets and couldn't print properly the tickets, which gave us problem when we wanted access. It was packed with people even though they apparently had limited spots. Overall a bad experience that reminded me why I don't like zoos

I will say this... I will give it 5 stars due to the interaction with the animals was highly decent. Humans tho... Honking at animals banging on the door of cars driving with kids out of sun roofs and jockeying for position... Or going off the road way into the exhibit on service rds... The food court was spacious shops were beautiful and the animals def were a wonderful. It seemed some of the park was closed or in disarray. Over all wonderful visit and def a happy time... Nice fun place for the family, I would of liked to do some activities but due to covid activities were limited and I was not able to reserve a spot for aqua Park. The food at one place was not so good, overall experience was ok. There is a lot of driving to do (50 minutes drive from Montreal to the safari) then major traffic just to get pass the ticket booths which was about 30-50 minutes long then if you chose to do the safari adventure you can spend 40 minutes but it all depends on what time you get to parc safari

The Parc is a beautiful experience as it combines the wildlife area and safari and the water park. The safari itself was lovely in terms of seeing the animals but couldn’t feed any on the way. The kids enjoyed feeding the deers once back from the ride. The water park was great fun as it had slides and water activities truly suited for all ages.

A good experience especially for the kids to go on a safari in their own vehicle and to keep animals in close quarters. Best of all, you could fed them yourselves. This place also has a big food court as well as couple of restaurants for dine-in too. Parking is huge and so don't worry about that. Being just about 1 hr away from Montreal, this it a fantastic weekend getaway for a family with kids. Also there are lodging options inside there too during summer period as well as good water parks to cool down and hit the waters to escape the heat during the visit. Having a bush electric open safari vehicle is very commendable for the environment. Overall must recommend to visit this safari

Well worth the detour. My kids enjoyed feeding the animals, albeit temperamental. There were wapiti, watusi, zebras, ostriches, camels, and many others. My kids loved the giraffes the most, but those were not on the car circuit. We had to walk to them. The water park is worth the extra fee of you have kids who want to cool off after a visit to see the animals. Bring lettuce and shelled peanuts if you'd rather not buy them.

An amazing place to visit with your friends and family. It was a nice experience to feed the animals. Do not forget to buy the animal food before starting the Safari.
We went there in summers so it was super hot so stay hydrated and do not forget to bring your drinks.
It was crowded at the water park so we did not visit it. Though you have to reserve your spot for the water park.
The only negative point is the price which I think is too high for the place.

First time back in 10+ years, the actual safari feeding is much less interesting. Very few animals to actually feed. Some cool ones to look at, but only the deer seem bold enough to approach the vehicle.

Great family trip. I just wish all the pools were open. It looked like there was lots of work being done on the enclosures, so the animals didn't have lots of room. Hopefully, it will be new and nice for them soon! Love being able to feed the giraffe and deer.

Pretty nice place! The animals are really pretty and amazing to see upclose. You need a lot of patience and food for the best experience. You would also need to do it several times to see most animals. Renting a coolbox to stay overnight and have more exclusive activities is a good service they offer. The water parc is pretty atrocious tho…be warned:/. Food is lackluster… just regular fast-food food… not great fast-food food…

The ticket prices are a bit expensive but it was an excellent experience, especially for the family trip I think. You can bring some vegetable leaves which you can have more chances to feed them but you can buy some there. And it’d be nice to use the map and prepare a bit earlier for you kids because the introductions of each animal isn’t much.

In particular I'd like to note that Joann, one of the kitchen staff, was incredibly helpful. I hadn't spotted the high chairs for my toddler and thought I'd have to make due without. She noticed the pickle I was in and came right over to help get the high chair set up. She also offered to turn the TV onto cartoons to keep my son entertained while I got him food. The food was good, my dad had a great time. The chairs in the lobby were super comfy while I waited for him and it was very clean. Next time I'm going to try and see if they have a spa in the vicinity so I can enjoy that while dad plays.

I was away from my slot machine for 30 seconds, when I came back, someone cashed out my ticket. We called the service. but the manager said they don't bother to check for small amounts. Plus he thought I was lying to have free credit. Really insulting! Of course we argued, he agreed to give me free credit for the money I lost, but 24 cents less! Gorgeous management! I gave one star, because his assistant was realy helpful.

My favorite casino these days. The primary reason being the staff I've encountered. Always seem to go out of their way to engage with the customers. Dealers were super polite with my clunky amateur learning curve. I'm usually not a card player but tried it out on my last visit. I've had my biggest wins here. I also like the area. It's a longer drive than Montreal for us but I enjoy this casino far more. We'll be back soon for a night out with the wife.
I do wish they would adjust the policy on minors being able to stay in the hotel. It would be super convenient to be able to bring my son along to hang out with his grand parents while the wife and I enjoy a few drinks and dinner.

We took a family vacation here. The pool and hot tub were great other than the fact that they kicked out my child at 9pm because it's adults only after 9pm. So stupid! It's very far away and food is expensive and not so great. My gram gets free rooms though so that was nice.

Clean. Affordable. Convenient.
No place to eat when casino closes, make sure to bring your own food or order ahead and bring to room for later. Breakfast buffet decent and great price. Dinner buffet "to each their own."
Rooms are slightly dated but 10x better than Comfort Inn. Hot tub and pool on premise.

First time staying here and really enjoyed it! Rooms are clean, very very spacious including the bathroom which was very large and equipped with a blow dryer. Indoor pool and Jacuzzi which was very clean and nice. Casino was great too! Bingo was a lot of fun! Starbucks coffee. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I'd definitely stay here again and I highly recommend.

My husband and I went here a few weeks back. We arrived around 12:30 -1 ish in the morning and stayed till close. It was very nice and was clean. We had a blast playing the slot machines. I played a few different ones but always ended up going back to our favorite machine, the Cool Catz. We don't make it up here often, but when we do, we always have an amazing time and are always treated with respect by the employees. If anyone is looking for a casino or even just a date night, I highly recommend this place. We will def be going back in the near future.

Enjoyed playing the slot machines. Spent $17.95 for my husband and myself each for the buffet. It was a big disappointment. Food was barely warm. Wasn' t very good. They really cut the buffet back from what it was few years ago. If we go again we will eat lunch elsewhere.

Very typical casino resort. Lots of staff on the floor. Canadian cash slot machines are handy so you don't have to exchange your money.
We did not stay at the hotel, we just went to gamble. We did stay for the buffet which there was a long line. We waited 30 mins with anticipation as we were hungry. The dinner buffet was $38.00 US per person, and is a complete disappointment. They were serving prime rib and crab, which was very good, however it's a very limited buffet and definitely not worth the money.

Played slot machines, had so much fun. Buffet was wonderful. Prime rib with mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, salad bar, dessert bar, beverages. They also have a free soda fountain and you can help yourself to at anytime. They offer overnight stays and if a member you qualify for free slot plays. Wonderful place. There's much more available like a pool and ect. You just have to go to see for yourself. Enjoy

Love going here. Rooms are clean and spacious. Got a pool and hot tub. Casino is clean and love playing their slots. Drinks are well made and DJ Friday nights have me dancing.

Nice place, very clean and nice staff. My only complaint was the awkward room numbering, if they aren't going to go in the typical numerical order, put up more signage. We spent 20 minutes trying to get into our room with staff, and it turned out none of us realized it was further down the hall.

This is our third stay and it has gotten worse everytime. Our first stay the hot tub was down. This stay and our last stay only one elevator is working. Which is frustrating with 7 floors and unsupervised chidren. There has been a handprint in the elevator for at least a week, so its obvious there is no one cleaning. The pool and hot tub are being overrun by children and guests having pool parties which staff don't seem to mind.
There is no breakfast or even complimentary coffee, which wouldn't be that big of a deal if there was a coffee pot in room. There is no microwave either.... you are forced to go to their fake Starbucks.
Roxanna McGregor — Google review
A completely subpar experience across the board.
The staff were soulless and grouchy, unmotivated to give great customer service. The food at the two restaurants we tried was bland and beige, on the same level as hospital food. The room was okay, but just try not to look too closely, if you know what I mean. The slot machines literally ate all of our money, without giving us so much as a lousy bonus feature. Oh, and the casino is actually closed from 1am to 9am? It’s absurd, I’ve never heard of such a thing with a casino this scale.
If you want a real getaway casino experience, try Turning Stone instead

This is just for the casino.. The lady at the counter was very helpful, I'm fairly new to casinos and she walked me through the app and such. Went to get a drink, it was not good..and there was very little, if any at all, alcohol in it. Couldn't use the free play without putting cash in first, and half the time couldn't get the machines to work so would have to move on to the next one. I enjoyed people watching, but I probably would never go back.

Akwesasne Mohawk Casino is always a good time. This time we stayed at the casino overnight in their hotel and the rooms were clean and nice. Just regular rooms with regular amenities. The hotel has a pool and hot tub area as well with a couple bars, a restaurant and buffet.
The restaurant is very good for what you pay, I haven't been disappointed and the staff is very nice.
The location basically provides the fun your after, outside of the casino I suppose I didn't stay long enough to see what the area offers outside the casino. I highly recommend 👌

Usually we go several times a year, we like the place . Acknowledging the food prices have risen, yet we noticed a definite deterioration for the choice, and quality in spite of raising the prices far above inflation levels. Dealers are doing an excellent job ,so are the floor supervisors. Why are they designated by the title floor? Why not ask the dealers to call them by the title super or a phrase worthy of the job they’re accomplishing? Our last stay was at the new acquired hotel, breakfast was OK , but the rooms would definitely need a certain upgrade in the near future

No complaints, nothing that I would consider outstanding, nothing I would consider subpar.
Had a 2 queen room that was clean, nice shower. Check in associates were pleasant.
Ate at the sports bar; burger and fries. Fast food style. Had a bar if you wanted to hang out.
Had the buffet last year and it was good.
Only thing I could complain about was 1 dealer ( blackjack) out of the 3 I had. He overpaid me once and that was a mistake by him and then when I went to leave he wanted to buy out my chips and give me larger chips. While he was stacking them he added 1 extra chip to each stack . Had the player next to me not noticed it I would have been shorted out of 40 bucks. As it was 2 mistakes by this dealer I bring it up here. All of the others were great…

Parc Omega is a natural park that offers visitors the chance to see wildlife up close, including First Nations totems. The park also features an eatery, as well as cabins and tipis for those who want to stay overnight. One popular attraction is the gated golf cart rental, which provides a fun way to explore the park while keeping animals away from cars.
Very nice Safari Park. You can see a variety of Canadian wildlife on a 12km self-drive safari. It is perfect for an activity with all family.
During your safari, you might see deer, elk, bison, caribou and other animals roaming in their natural habitats. You can pick up a bag of carrots at the entrance so you can feed some of the curious animals that come right up to your car. It is a very fun activity. I highly recommend!

I absolutely love this place! We have been before but they have improved and added a lot since we were last there. If you don't want to take your car round you can rent a golf cart with a metal cage around to feed animals. Think its $275 +tax for the day. Gift shop has now moved to the farm area car park. If you have a spare $30 I recommend renting a golf cart to get from the car park to the farm. It's a trail through the woods and super fun! Love feeding the animals and FINALLY saw a moose! Lots of baby animals about too. This will always be our 1st place to take visitors. It is also slightly cheaper to buy tickets in advance. More food options than last time we were there but we packed a picnic and sat with deer.

Awesome safari-like park to visit with family. You can see along your path with the car many pigs, deers, etc. The latter do like to stick their nose into your window, asking for carrots. If you like feeding the deer and pigs , bring two-three bags of carrots (cut in two or three pieces). If there are not too many people in the park, the animals are very hungry. We spent about three hours in the park. Great attraction!

Such a neat experience!! From the instant we cross that gate, the deer greeted use to eat the carrots we purchased at the park store. There are a few hikes along the way that have baby deer ready to feed from your hand. The wolf exhibit is also a must see!! Incredible experience our family won’t soon forget.

We stayed in the Wolf Lodge and it was absolutely amazing. The accomodations was 2 floors the bedroom and living room overlook the wolf enclosure. Everything was very very clean. It's comes with fridge, microwave, espresso machine. All the eating utensils and dishes you need. Pots pans etc. also a fire place in living room. The wolves can not go up to the glass at this lodge as they do have electric fence preventing them to do so. But still amazing to see them and wake up to them howling etc. the Park itself was pretty cool. It is completely over run with pigs and Elk so your car will get swarmed with both for quite a ways. Took about 3 hrs as we did stop at sector 11. For a bit. We will definitely come back during end of summer beginning of fall to see the other animals and activities

Booked the Bus tour in the morning and it was 100% worth it. Tour guide Clara and Bus driver Dominic were very friendly and informative. Got to learn a lot from them about the animals and their behaviors. The bus tour was about 3+ hours and the same is valid for the day pass. We were mainly there for the wolves and there were lots of them.
Some elks were demanding carrots(which we loved) and might scratch your car so beware if you are taking rental. I've been to a couple of animal park safari before but this one is my favorite.

Even though we went in one of the coldest days it was still amazing! The fun will depend on how much you love animals and would enjoy feeding them, for me it was a fairytale of a day.
There are so many activities I couldn't try and next time I want to explore all the beautiful trails for sure. In the cold we had to warm up in the car almost the whole trip. I'd say definitely plan your trip in accordance with the weather.

As an Ottawa resident, this is one of my favourite places to visit, as it is only about an hour drive from my home. Each time I go I have a brilliant time, and have never regretted making the journey here.
On our latest visit we bought four bags of carrots, which were quickly eaten by the animals. As this was the first time I went during the winter time, I wasn't sure what to expect, but to my happy surprise the park was still filled with animals! I love coming here and plan to come back.

This is a beautiful park, very big with many activities to do throughout the day. The workers are clearly very caring about their animals, which are very well treated. We slept in the pods, which are very comfortable and surrounded by dears. It is a whimsical experience totally worth the price! The workers are very devoted and helped us with car issues, they are very kind and gave an amazing service. We loved our stay there, and will definitely come back!

The perfect place to visit with your friends and family! You can drive through the park and feed the animals and park at a few spots to rest, walk around, eat lunch, and see a farm (you can go for free or rent a gold cart for around $30). You can also buy carrots for $4 at the boutiques, but you can bring your own!

We spent the night in the wolf cabin and we had the pleasure of seeing the entire pack of wolves sleeping under our window. In the morning they were roaming and they stopped by for pictures. The cabin was really comfortable, and clean. The park was amazing, driving through and being able to observe the animals in the different sections. We enjoyed the experience so much that we are trying to convince our friends to join us and rent the bigger cabin so that we all can have the same experience.

Great place to visit for the family! It’s more of a safari than a zoo wherein you drive around the park to see and interact with the animals!
We enjoyed the experience of feeding and even petting the deers!
Plan at least 3-4 hours to maximize your trip there. Definitely will come back!

My third time going here with my kids. Once we rented the gated golf cart, that was amazing. The kids especially loved it. I recommend you rent it in a warm day. Keeps the animals off the car and from getting damaged by accident from antlers.
We went in winter, fall and summer. All seasons are amazing. Avoid weekends as it gets super busy and cars don't follow standard of staying to the right for petting and left to pass. So you end up wasting lots of time waiting for others to move.
Note: being 2-3 bags of carrots. Don't give them away too fast! Later you have more animals.

A lovely place to spend the time with kids and see the wild animals in open areas. One can drive around, feed the animals carrot and other vegetables as liked by friendly animals. Tickets are slightly expensive, but one can imagine the upkeep of such place and all the animals. Kids love the drive around and had fun with animals. Great place. We had spend around 3-4 hours here, so plan the day accordingly.

Amazing experience.
Please buy carrots 🥕 before entering as we can feed the animals (not all animals, please read sign boards) - 1 bag $4 CAD - (august 2023)
My pictures will speak my experience. Deer , stag, fox , wolf , bison , black and cinnamon bear are few of the animals. There are farm animals which can be viewed with a free tractor ride.

WAY better than I ever imagined.
It’s like a car trail Through a mountainous nature trail with wild animals everywhere. And half way through there is a native village with food, markets, gift shop, fire pits, live music and more deer domestically wandering around you.
You can’t beat this. I’d say it’s one of the best tourist experiences I’ve had in Canada.

It was really a fun experience. Animals are very interactive. Staffs are very helpful and gives really good info. Too bad we didn't see the bears since they are wintering. Overall, very nice place to go to. We love it. Plus they have a really good beaver's tail.

The park was really nice to see in winter. Don't believe everything the ticket seller say. They don't know much. The ticket seller told us that there is no horse ride. But there was and we missed it because of wrong information given by the front desk. Always double check in the information centre. Buy your own carrots from superstore. They sell 4 dollars for each bag of carrots. I think you can get it cheaper in superstores. It's a fun activity for kids. Bears are not available in winter. The wolf feeding was in French. They didn't explain it in English. There was no snow tubing, skating. It wasn't mentioned in website. There is no way to call them through telephone to double check which was very inconvenient.

Our recent visit to Omega Park was nothing short of magical, earning a well-deserved five stars from our family! From the moment we entered, we were whisked away into a world where nature and wildlife coexist in harmony, offering us a unique and educational experience that’s hard to find elsewhere.
One of the highlights of our visit was the opportunity to feed the wildlife with carrots we bought at the park. This hands-on experience was not only fun but also incredibly heartwarming. Watching the animals come up close, seeing the excitement in my children’s eyes, and having the chance to interact with the wildlife in such a personal and respectful manner was truly unforgettable.
The park is immaculately maintained, with clear signage and plenty of information about the various animals and their habitats. It’s evident that the welfare of the animals and the education of visitors are top priorities. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, eager to share stories and facts that enhanced our visit.
I recommend Omega Park wholeheartedly to families and anyone looking for something different to do. It’s not just a trip to a wildlife park; it’s an adventure that educates, delights, and leaves you with lasting memories. Whether you’re an animal lover, a nature enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique way to spend a day, Omega Park is a must-visit destination that will exceed your expectations.

Omega Park is a wonderful destination for families seeking a memorable outdoor adventure. I visited the park in 2019 with my family and we were thoroughly impressed by the experience it offered.
The park's main draw is its drive-through animal safari, where visitors can see a variety of wildlife up close in their natural habitat. From majestic bison to playful deer, the park is home to a diverse range of animals that will captivate both kids and adults alike.
Apart from the safari, Omega Park offers a range of activities that cater to visitors of all ages. There are walking trails, picnic areas, and even a petting zoo where children can interact with friendly farm animals.
One of the highlights of our visit was the opportunity to feed the animals. The park provides specially formulated food pellets that you can purchase to feed the animals along the safari route, creating a memorable and interactive experience.
Overall, Omega Park is a fantastic destination for families looking to connect with nature and wildlife. The park's beautiful setting, diverse animal population, and range of activities make it a must-visit for anyone traveling in the area.

I had a lot of fun at this attraction! Seeing all of the animals up close and feeding them was an amazing experience. It was also nice to see the amount of freedom and space they had to roam around. It definitely looks like they’re well taken care of. The area called “Land of the Pioneers” had cute little cafes to stop and get something to eat/drink. The wolf observatory was a short walk to from the land of the pioneers and it was nice to see the wolves so close. A little tip when you’re visiting, break your carrots into 2-3 pieces so that the animals can eat it properly and you have more carrots to feed them.

Make sure you bring carrots 🥕 with you. Probably 3-4 pounds. Also try to go early in the morning as soon as the park open. Because animals are hungry 😋 after sleeping all night. If you go mid day, they have been already got fed by other people. You won’t be able to enjoy 😉 much feeding them during this time.

Loved every bit about this park. From the deers that roamed freely around our pod (if you staying on the camp site). To the cozy pod itself that was complete in amenities, including hot water kettle for hot chocolate on cold winter day and picnic table outside if you want to eat outside. To the free roaming animals inside the park in your car - some animals you get to feed while others you can't. Plenty to see. To zone 11 where kids can play and release some energy....tree top paths, animal farm, wolf lookout zone, snack bar/souvenir shop, to horse drawn carriage to the parking lot. We stayed for 3 days and had fun every single day from morning to night. Plenty of things to do. Plus a wonderful restaurant that serves breakfast / lunch and selected dinner nights during March Break period. Food was good too. So that's a bonus.

Awesome place to hang out with the family... it's so educational and entertaining. We enjoyed the boat ride & the horse wagon ride. The musical show was really entertaining. The 4 ladies did an awesome job. Don't miss the activity center where you can try some traditional games and try out the classic costumes. It's probably not possible to see everything in a day with small kids, so we will be going back to check out the places we missed. Be prepared to walk a lot. Overall, it is highly recommended, especially for kids, to learn about how things were without electronics.

If you love the country side you will definitely fall in love with this place! It's almost like going back to the old time, the staff still wear the traditional clothing of the time. So many antique pieces of furniture, clocks cutlery etc. It is very family friendly and it would take you the whole day to visit. The train wasn't operating this time, could be maintenance but we were so happy with the wagon ride on the horses and the ferry. Huge waterfront on the St. Lawrence River!!! You will be able to pet the horses and see cows and a demonstration of making bread from scratch in the bakery and how the antique chainsaw mill works as well as so many crafts of the time. The staff is super friendly and welcoming and patient answering all the questions with a smile on their face! Many rustic buildings, old church, school, seamstress and doctor's house, the post office, the old shop, the hall and many others... Parking and washroom available, stroller friendly and there is a store where you can buy souvenirs and freshly baked whole wheat bread. 1h15 minutes drive from Ottawa. I hadn't visited Upper Canada Village since I was in grade school, and it was such a welcome surprise to have such a beautiful and immersive experience. We've visited as a family about three times in the past month and a half.
The costumed interpreters are always friendly and inviting, not to mention an absolute wealth of knowledge. It seemed every time we visited there was a special event or programs running that really brings the village to life.
We've had the privilege to experience a musical weekend where we saw and heard performers sharing music from the era they depict; 1860's. As well as the Fall Fair weekend, with more animals, food and fun than any usual operational day. And finally, we saw for the first time; the mind boggling experience of Pumpkin Inferno. Thousands of carved and lighted foam pumpkins, and plenty of real ones too; musical light displays, multiple photo ops and hot chocolate and treats make this family friendly event unforgettable!! Learning about the history of early Canada has never been so much fun.

Definitely a fan! Went several times with friends, family, and even the family dog, this place never disappoints! Last event was for the Pumpkin Inferno show (after dusk show), absolutely brilliant! We were lucky, the weather was perfect, mild and dry as this is an event that takes place rain or shine. The exhibitions are awesome. You cannot miss your entry time but after that you can visit the place at your own pace. Warmly recommended!

We have visited a few times as a family and each time has been really enjoyable and special. Both Summer and Winter events are worth checking out, but be sure to dress accordingly! We were thankful for every mitten and hat on our last visit during the Alight at Night event.
The train was a lot of fun for our toddler, lots to do, and lots to see!
Also, try the cheddar. So worth it. If you're able, try the bread too! I can't vouch for taste (since I'm celiac), but it smelled like the most perfect loaf of heaven.

Had a wonderful time with the family at Upper Canada Village. Lots to explore and transport yourself back to life in the 1800's. Interpreters were fantastic and very knowledgeable. you can take a boat ride to the far end of the property and then walk back as you explore all the village has to offer. There is a activity room where children can dress up in period clothing, play games and do a craft. Fresh bread is baked twice daily, 11 and 2 (it sells out fast). The train ride is an additional fee to the entrance ticket but worth adding on especially if you have children. I was very impressed that the train ride had a wheelchair accessible car at the front.

Excellent little village and a great representation of the era. I was most impressed with the fully functional wood mill. Powered with water and mid 1800s technology they can mill large logs into useable lumber.
There is also a boat you can take that is horse drawn on a river, visit the bake shop and buy warm bread made the 19th century way.
Most buildings have active demonstrations including the blacksmith, highly recommend this, very knowledgeable people here who know the roles they are representing.

Had a beautiful family time; going back to the 1800's. It was so interesting to see the technology from back in the day and learn about how different elements were transported to the current location. All the staff were extremely kind, helpful and knowledgeable! They are the reason our visit was extremely worth every minute we spent.
The most interesting things for us were the Fire Station and the Cook's Tavern- has some hilarious posters you won't want to miss.
I was particularly impressed by the Chrysler Hall, where there's a section dedicated to recognizing Black Canadians. There are a few options to treat yourself to, including Beavertails.
To get maximum value for your ticket, please plan to be there before afternoon. We missed out on a lot of sites or activities coz we went late afternoon.

Plus, for the people with children, there is a special section with many cool activities for them. Really worth the go! At the end, you can shop the boutique which has a beautiful selection of affordable Seasonal décor of quality, and snack on a beavertail of your choice. Hot beverages on the premices.

Excellent experience. A light Anight is amazing. Beautifully done. With the new ticketing method it is so easy to get in. Parking is plentiful.
Small food places for hot beverages and washrooms in good places.
Easily wheelchair accessible.
Takes about 40 to 60 minutes to take it all in. Longer is you stop in the children's section and partake games.

We had an amazing time there! If you plan on going, don't just allow 1-2 hours, you can really spend the entire day there. There is so much to see, and the people working there are wonderful and they know all about their subject! You can see they are passionate and willing to share with the visitors. Bonus points too for the eco side of it! A lot of things run on water, and the flour they do in the mill is used for their bread, which you can buy at the gift shop! The site is clean, there are many activities to do, we will certainly go back to experience it fully again!
National Gallery of Canada is a large, multi-cultural art gallery that features Canadian and international art. The gallery is located on Parliament Hill in downtown Ottawa. The building's pink granite and glass spires are reminiscent of the ornate copper-topped towers nearby. The National Gallery showcases both classic and contemporary Canadian art, as well as an impressive collection of work by indigenous artists.
I would like to really recommend this place for people.
First of all, you can look at the parliament building at good location.
Secondly, this museum has a variety of art works. Especially,I really liked that this museum had a lot of paintings by famous artists, but not necessarily their most famous works. It made me realize that these artists had also created such paintings, and I really enjoyed being able to see their less well-known works.

I love seeing modern art: not because I like modern art, but because I like to see what can get into an art gallery, and especially what extraordinary description some of these artists come up with. I present the highlights of this gallery: a photo of a paper bag. A white canvas, black lines, and a blue square! Only two colours on a canvas!! A white canvas, absolutely brilliant!!! A pair of pants picked up from the back alley. A wire running diagonally across a room, so insightful? There were deeper, reflective, and historically significant pieces elsewhere in the gallery, but those are boring. I give this a 14 out of 17 black lines, you should visit this gallery.

Architecture & Interior - With it's high vaulted ceilings and glass windows, you immediately get a sense of a walking in. This gallery is pretty big. Housing all kinds exhibits, artworks, and collection. It was soothing to just walk around.
Artworks/Exhibits/collections - There was all types of art when I was there. You get a taste of different styles, which I enjoyed.
Service - The staff were all professional and friendly. Couldn't ask for more.
Highly recommend to come if you are an Art Lover.

No audio guide or main pieces recommended. I asked the guy and he was very helpful. For someone that doesn’t understand much about art and was mostly accompanying my mum, need an explained path to follow on the museum to enjoy it. Most galleries in Europe have this… the chapel is amazing tho, great chorus!!

First of all, the location of the gift shop is absolutely beautiful. It is situated in a charming area with stunning views. The added convenience of paid underground parking made it easy for me to find a spot and not have to worry about finding street parking.
Upon entering the shop, I was greeted by friendly staff who were knowledgeable about their products. The shop had a wide variety of items ranging from souvenirs to home decor. I was able to find some truly special gifts for my loved ones.

This is a gorgeous museum with a wide variety of art collections and exhibits. Some of the highlights include the indoor garden, the glass ceiling fountain, and the most breathtaking of all, the rebuilt chapel inside the museum. The design of the building is breathtaking as well with lots of glass and windows and brutalist style cement.

A brilliant gallery from its architectural excellence and beauty, to its vast collection. We only had one day so we chose the first floor on Indigenous and Canadian art. We were not disappointed and spent a fabulous time learning much about history and art. The staff in the cafeteria where we had lunch were so helpful and accommodating. An excellent gift shop too.

An art gallery is located in the Canada capital city of Ottawa. it is nearby the byward market area. I will suggest to purchase your ticket online so that you won't be needing to line up to do the purchase when you're there.
If you're able to do so, check in your coat so you won't be needing to carry it around when you're enjoying the art in the gallery. it will take some time for you to check out the first and second floor so be prepared to spend about two to three hours inside the gallery.
If you want to check out the shop before you leave, make sure you get to the entrance not too close to the closing time since the shop won't let anymore Shoppers in when is about to close the gallery.

Fun and very interesting place to visit.
It's 60% filled with naked drawings, crazy right?
I loved my short time there.
If you are a student, you get a discount also, and it's just a 10-minute walk from the mall.
I think if you come to Ottawa and want to go to the gallery, you should try this place first before others.
Peace.

It has an incredible and very diverse collection, it tells the artistic history of Canada, in a very well curated way, with divisions by styles and provinces and artists. it also has on the top floor galleries with artists from Europe such as Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh, Munch. tip: for those who are students, just present the proof card that pays the half price.

never gets old. i’ve been going to the art museum since i was very young, i recently went back for the first time in a few years and i had forgotten just how much i love being here. the art is beautiful, it all tells a story of a time that deserves to be celebrated and captured through art. the atmosphere is calming, the people are respectful and the downtown location is great for looking over the river. we bought our tickets at the door, it was $20/person but totally worth it.

It’s a very nice museum. I loved seeing the arts and crafts of Canada’s people over the years. The old paintings were really beautiful and well restored. Even though I am not a fan of modern art, it was still pretty cool. The museum was really big and clean. Really recommend if you like art.

Fairly well organized and there are plenty of great pieces of art, lots from Canadian history and a good number from Europe and the USA too. Not a fan of the modern art they have but that’s all subjective. It’s in a central location downtown and is a great spot for both locals and tourists.

One of my favourites. Their classical collection is amazing (not posting the pics, but they have Gogh, Klimt, Monet among many more). Visited on Thursday afternoon after 5pm (the admission is free on this day and time). The museum has a great collection of art from many different periods of time. There are a lot of rotating exhibits as well. The small hall that offers drinks and snacks has a great view of Parliament Hill, and plays contemporary music as well. The seasonal drink was delicious 😋 would definitely come here again!

On the second day of my trip to Ottawa, I allocated three hours here, but it turned out to be far from enough. Just exploring first floor took me two hours. I suggest art enthusiasts reserve at least 6 hours for this place. Apart from the exhibits, the art museum itself is a masterpiece. Definitely worth revisiting. Take your time to savor it. I discovered an interesting detail – everyone tacitly placed stickers on the traffic light poles at the entrance, creating a humorous piece of art.

Free to visit on Thursday evenings after 5pm! Get a free ticket online in advance or ask for a physical ticket when you walk in.
There are art activities in the large atrium and you can purchase snacks and drinks from the bar. Lots of art from classical to Indigenous to Canadian to modern. You could spend a whole evening and not see everything the gallery has to offer.
There’s also a free coat check. There will be a long lineup near closing time to try to not leave at the very end if you don’t want to wait.
There hasn’t been a line to enter the past few times I’ve been. They give you a sticker to wear on your shirt or hand in exchange for the ticket. Lots of people stick them up at the lamp post outside at the curb.

The Rideau Canal is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada that was built to protect against war with the United States. The canal is now popular for boaters and tourists who enjoy skating on its frozen surface in the winter.
Amazing canal to walk for a long time during the warm weather and to skate in when it get to be frozen. Sadly not much during the 2023/2024 winter. Thanks to all the NCC-CCN workers for opening the canal for as much as this weather could allow for. I hope next winter stays cold for longer so my family, friend and I can enjoy skating as much as we can.

Best place to walk all year round; you go through areas of beautiful trees and parks, city scapes and the historical bridges and buildings of Ottawa. In winter it is magical with a different perspective. All the beauty of the canal from the waterway. Beavertails and hot chocolate make this one of our annual traditions. My favourite time to skate is sunset and evenings. Gives it such a beautiful glow. #winter #skating #winteractivity

Rideau Canal - Ottawa.
Two words suffice - an artist’s canvas .
This was one of our spots to be visited during our Ottawa day trip and turned out be most rejuvenating and enjoying.
As we disembarked our vehicles and moved out the tulips on sidewalks were welcoming to the stunning pathway that led us to the over bridge on the river.
As we walked pass the display board, the river and walkways offered pleasing views of surroundings and Ottawa skyline.
Cruise 🚢 rides option available if you can spare 2 to 3 hrs. Else an half an hour stroll across the river bridge and side ways suffice.
Soak in the clean air, soothing environment and well laid walkway along and around the spot.
Enjoy.

My favourite Ottawa playground. Spring, summer, and fall great for walking, cycling, running, and roller blading. There is even road closures on Sundays in the summer. Take it all in with spring tulip festival and manicured gardens. In the winter it's my skating rink. Imagine never seeing the same face twice, skating for an hour and still not completing the whole rink. It's over 15 km there and back.

Sitting atop Parliament Hill in Ottawa, the Library of Parliament is a stunning architectural gem that dates back to 1876. Visitors can explore the Centre Block and marvel at treasures like the House of Commons and the library itself. Guided tours offer an opportunity to ascend the 92.2-meter Peace Tower for panoramic views of the city.
Best free tour in Ottawa! I am biased as librarianship is my field of expertise but truly the library of parliament is one of the most beautiful libraries I have ever stepped into. Located inside parliament building at the center of city of Ottawa, this library survived of big fire, which destroyed all other part of the building, on February 3, 1916, a member of parliament noticed smoke in the House of Commons Reading Room in the Centre Block of the parliament building. The fire quickly raced out of control, but as the Library of Parliament had been built with iron safety doors, which were slammed shut against the fire and smoke, and a narrow corridor separating the Library from the Centre Block also contributed to the Library's survival.
The Library’s wood panelling features more than 1,600 designs, featuring flowers, masks and mythical beasts.
The statue of Queen Victoria situated at the centre of the Main Library was carved by Marshall Wood from a block of white marble. It is 3.45 metres tall and weighs about 3,500 kilograms. The Library’s dome measures 47.2 metres in diameter and 40.2 metres from the floor to its top. The galleries display eight coats of arms – seven for the provinces at the time the Library opened and one for Canada.
Public can visit the liabrary, it's part of parliament building tour, a must see at Ottawa, you need go early in the morning, and get a ticket at the visiting center cross the street, there is Terry Fox statue in front of it.

Exploring the Canadian National Museum of War was a delightful experience. As a tourist, plan to spend at least 2-3 hours to fully appreciate the exhibits. However, if you have a keen interest in history, particularly as a student or learner, you might find yourself interestingly occupied in each pavilion, requiring even more time to explore thoroughly.

A quick visit to the Canadian National War Museum in early 2023. When I arrived, one of the people welcoming me asked if I'd been there before, and I replied, "Yes, but a long time ago - it was in the old building." "Was that back in the 80's?" "It might have been even before."
On my way out, I ran into her again, and she asked what I thought. I told her that it's an incredible museum - and it is, unmissable if you're anywhere near Ottawa - but that I wasn't sure that I completely enjoyed it, "But that's kind of the point, isn't it?" and she replied something along the lines of, 'Then you got the whole message of our museum, thank you."
Lest we forget.

This is a fantastic museum. Main exhibition hall is split up into different periods and area is extremely well-designed and informative. Lots to see and do for the kids as there are many interactive areas. For example, in the War Games exhibit, they were taught by an extremely patient and knowledgeable member of the museum (Benoit) to play a game where they had to protect and get their supply ships across the ocean - they loved it. One of the highlights was the incredible display of tanks and military vehicles. Glad we visited it and we’ll definitely be back again.

Excellent museum about Canada’s involvement in wars, with an amazing selection of tanks and other ground machines on display. The War Games special exhibit was interesting. The permanent exhibits are a little small and cramped when groups come through, so it is worth visiting early in the morning and later in the afternoon to avoid groups. I found the museum less emotive than other Canadian war museums but still interesting.
The Diefenbunker was a large, underground military bunker that was built in the early 1960s as a response to the escalation of the Cold War. It is now a public museum and is worth the visit for anyone interested in military history or general survivalism.
This is a nice place for a family visit. We went there with the kids and they had so much fun. I think it’s more interesting for adults, but you can take the kids with you, just be ready to explain them everything they see. The place looks really old and it creates unique atmosphere. Best. Part. Of. Our. Trip.
Hands down. We loved it, this was a really cool slice of history, REAL history, that you could walk around in and explore. We spent close to 2 hours there, wandering through all the rooms, reading all the exhibits, soaking up the general vibe. It was amazing to see so much of it all just left there, in place, for us to see all these years later. Just walking down the blast tunnel and going through the big vault doors, that really set the tone for the rest of it. No guides, no staff, no one to distract you from going at your own pace and checking everything out. More than enough signs and plaques to explain everything, we weren't left with any questions at the end. Though, if this bunker is closed, where is the current one for current PMs?

Discovering Diefenbunker: Canada's Cold War Museum was like finding a hidden gem. Every room in this museum is fascinating and beautifully preserved, offering a unique journey through history. The tour starts at the 400 level and descends down to level 100, with each step becoming more exciting and immersive.
The museum provides a wealth of information about the post-WW2 era and the Cold War period. As you explore the bunker, you’ll encounter a variety of exhibits that bring this period to life. From detailed displays about the geopolitical climate of the time to personal stories of those who lived through it, the museum does an excellent job of conveying the tension and uncertainty of the era.
One of the highlights for me was seeing the meticulously maintained calendars from the 70s, which added a personal touch to the historical narrative. Additionally, the museum showcases a fascinating array of old computers and tech devices, providing insight into the technological advancements of the time. It’s incredible to see how far technology has come since then.
The attention to detail in every exhibit is commendable, and it’s clear that a lot of effort has gone into preserving and presenting this important part of history. The interactive elements of the museum make it engaging for visitors of all ages, and I found myself thoroughly engrossed in the experience.
I am truly grateful to the authorities for maintaining this incredible museum. If you're visiting Ottawa, don't miss out on this place. It's an absolute must-see and highly recommended for everyone interested in history, technology, or simply looking for an engaging and educational experience.

Think about the Fallout series of games and genre and this hits right home with that!
OPPORTUNITIES: I think in the future they could greatly improve this museum if they add more period specific props and equipment, open up more rooms to explore and somehow integrate activities as well.

Excellent place to visit. We did our own walk around tour and it was really neat to see a nuclear bomb bunker that basically stayed as it was during the cold war. Each room has ALOT of memorabilia pertaining to and set up correctly. The staff were super friendly as well. They have a website that provides an audio tour or you can book one. Handicap accessible as well.

Very cool, very original Cold War bunker intended to ensure Canada's government survived a potential nuclear conflict. One of the cool things they do in telling the history is to set up different rooms as they would have been in each decade from the 1950s through the 1990s. Well done!

Diefenbunker
A Cold War Bunker, nothing more, nothing less.
AWESOME!
Guided or self guided tour is an option .
I enjoyed the structure and the vintage contents within.
There are four levels connected by stairwells.
There is an elevator but you need a museum staff member to operate .
There are washrooms available
The parking lot is large and closer handicap parking.

SUPER COOL cold war era throwback museum. It's like going back 40 years for a couple hours. There's tons to see and read and some really impressive engineering. The museum staff is super friendly and there's plenty of guidance on the shelf guided tour

Such an interesting gem of Canadian History that never happened.
Getting a glimpse into the doomsday prepping of a nation is a bit hard to wrap your head around, even as the proof of it exists around you. I truly feel like most will enjoy this tour, no matter age. Navigating with a group of people can get overwhelming, but I triply do feel having a guide is more engaging than not, although I am sure going unguided is just as enjoyable.
Our tour guide Brayden was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and thoughtful of guests who required mobility assistance. His love for the subject shines through his guiding. Throughout the tour, more guests joined, creating a larger group than usual, which he handled well.
I only recommend buying tickets in advance as you are only required to check in by giving your name upon arrival which is less hassle.

A very interesting place. Besides being historic, it is also very educational. Walking through the Diefenbunker is like a trip on a time machine. The various rooms and their contents are very well-preserved. The accounts and facts written on the walls are descriptive and lucid.
A piece of advice is to set aside a good amount of time to be able to go through the entire museum and comprehend the true significance of the establishment, and the circumstances under which it was built. It is a huge place with four floors underground.
A tour of the place is highly recommended.

A nice way to spend a couple hours - what a cool look into the past! We opted for the guided tour which was well worth it. Our guide, Gilles C. worked in the installation decades ago so he was able to add a really neat perspective on top of being an exceptional guide, a volunteer no less! The vault at the very bottom was very cool - literally and figuratively. Definitely would recommend a visit.

We had a Blast!
Awesome experience, we took the guided tour and was worthy every penny, we learn a lot from and got a super close impression of how the atmosphere was while during the Cold War in Canada.
Totally recommended for anyone. Maybe not to interesting for small kids, my 7 yo was a bit tired at some point.

I saw this on History Channel a little while ago and was fascinated to see it in person. The TV episode didn’t do this place justice, this was an awesome location to explore and visit. 4 huge floors of bunker with rich history information and audio tour. We missed the guided tour which I’m sure would have been awesome. Looks like you can do a kids camp along with things like escape rooms here to broaden the interest. Definitely worth checking out!

My family and I recently visited the Diefenbunker: Canada’s Cold War Museum, and we found it to be a fascinating experience. The staff were incredibly helpful, and friendly, which made our visit even more enjoyable. The museum was well-organized, with lots of informative signs and displays that provided us with a comprehensive understanding of the historical significance of the place.
One of the highlights of our visit was the Amateur Radio Station, which my son loved as he is currently into the Ham Radio experience. He was excited to learn that there is a Volunteer Radio Group that helps to preserve a piece of Cold War communications history.
Overall, it was an extraordinary experience to walk through history in a nuclear bunker that is 25 feet underground and to see all this vintage technology and furniture again. It was truly a unique experience that we will never forget, and we highly recommend the Diefenbunker Cold War Museum to anyone who wants to learn more about the past.

Must-see venue in Ottawa region!
Still under strong impression after the visit. The feeling of 30-day period (that is the time limit of life support in this underground facility) ticking away in order to find a solution in a concrete and steel bunker is unforgettable.
I will add more photos to this review later.

This is a unique facility that is purely funded by enthusiasts who wanted to preserve a fascinating part of Canada's history and indeed world history. Unlike various other actual museums, this place preserves the entire facility as it was imagined. You can see things down to the original maps and even staplers that were used!
In surprised by how well this place was preserved over all this time and so many people coming through it with autonomy.
Great way to spend 2 hours in the Ottawa region. Price of admission is more reasonable than other museums.

It seems the Diefenbunker is still a well kept secret. Being inside the bunker immerses you in the experience and brings you back in time. If you take the time to read and explore you can learn a wealth of information about Canadian history. It is a must see stop during your visit to Ottawa.
Boldt Castle is a grand castle situated on a 5-acre island in the St Lawrence River. It was constructed by George C Boldt, who owned Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. The castle offers tours of its interior, formal gardens, and grounds. Located about 25km from Gananoque and technically situated in the USA, visitors need to bring their passports to gain entry.
This was the first time to visit the area coming from the south US and going into Canada. Getting the tickets was quick but a bit complicated on which one to get. The girl at the window was good to help us out understand the differences. The boat ride was quick and smooth. The island itself was gorgeous. My family and I spent 1 hour there and it was too short. You can spend the entire day until 5 or so for the same price. The building are gorgeous and the history very interesting. I definitely recommend doing this and spend more than just one hour here.

We visited Boldt Castle as a part of the 5 hour cruise. The cruise stops over here for 2 hours to see the castle. It was a bit of a wait to clear US immigration. Once you are inside, it's quite spectacular to see all the views, architecture, and the way the castle is furnished. It's quite a sad history behind the castle, and some parts are left unfinished. 2 hours minus the time for immigration was not enough time to completely see everything but just right. Would have loved to spend more time. If you have a sweet tooth, don't miss the little ice cream store there. They serve amazing ice cream. The quality & quantity are out of this world.

Boldt Castle in the 1000 Islands is a five-star gem. The romantic views of the St. Lawrence River and its captivating islands make it a must-visit destination for couples and history enthusiasts alike. The castle's historical significance adds a layer of intrigue, showcasing the grandeur of an era gone by.
What's equally impressive is the ongoing restoration efforts that breathe new life into this architectural marvel. The commitment to preserving its heritage is evident in every detail. Boldt Castle offers a glimpse into the past while promising a future filled with enchanting experiences. Five stars for the perfect blend of romance, history, and preservation!

This place was so amazing! The castle is being restored and much has, but there are rooms that they have left to show the progress, which is very interesting.

It was fun, but it was really crowded, and a bit chaotic. However, after touring the castle we found a quiet bench to sit on along the water's edge and watch the boats cruise by. The castle itself is fascinating, especially the higher up you climb into the unfinished areas. The yacht house was worth the extra ticket, the old boats, engines, and the building itself were amazing (if you like that sort of thing).

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Boldt Castle on Saturday. The Bridge Authority has done a wonderful job in restoring this great piece of history. The property inside and outside is so well taken care of by the staff. We were blessed by the experience to see not only what has been restored, but also to be able to see what is still in process. We have toured many places over the years and have never seen the behind the scene look at what goes on to restore a building of this magnitude. It was truly a gift to be included in the experience of the love George had for his wife in building this structure for her.

We opted for the castle and yacht house tour on a September weekday. These are self guided tours with the option to use a free tour app. For those who aren't tech savvy, there are plenty of placards describing items throughout the castle. We took Uncle Sam ferry to visit this magnificent castle. Uncle Sam ferry operations are quite efficient and reasonably priced.
There is so much to see on this small island, which is also called Heart Island. Plsn to spend at least a couple of hours to fully enjoy it and learn the history behind it. They show a 16-minute long documentry, which is quite informative.
Gardens are beautiful and so is inside of castle.

The Boldt Castle & Boldt Yacht House are great historical sites to visit with family, friends, and whomever! It might not be a Disney Castle but this is a real castle and boat house that you can thoroughly explore. You'll find the multiple pleasure boats and racing crafts in the yacht house, the bowling alley and play stage in the kid's play house, the swimming pool, the multiple rooms, the power house, the servants' quarters, and so many more. Great place to explore when you get the chance!

The castle is beautiful. There are 4 floors totally redone and areas that weren't finished as a side by side comparison. The grounds are all nicely kept. There was a wedding even taking place. It's a very popular place! Spend an easy hour there which is perfect as the boldt yacht club runs a ferry every hour to and from. 30 for 2 people. Only runs to and from the castle.

In the 1970’s, my family visited Boldt Castle. I was so excited to return for the first time since then. We stayed in Watertown for the night, then drove to Alexandria Bay. It was all better than I expected! In the 70’s, the castle was in ruins. I honestly had no idea it was being renovated as this was a last minute addition to a trip in the Adirondack Mountains. It was worth taking a day to see the castle and yacht house and the area!
We took a boat over to Boldt Castle around 11:30 am on a Thursday. The boat ride was between five and ten minutes. We walked through the castle and around the grounds and spent 3 wonderful hours. We had a quick lunch at the cafe, then took a shuttle over to the Yacht House. That may have taken 15 minutes to tour (the boat ride was about 5 minutes). All so interesting! We walked through a few shops and were in our car and heading home by 4 pm.
I can’t wait to return to the area and spend more time here. Next time I would stay in Alexandria Bay for a few days!

Great place to visit and wander around. Lots of things to see all over the island for those who love peering back into history. Highly recommended. Fort Henry National Historic Site is a living history military museum in Kingston, Ontario, with special events throughout the year. It depicts British and Canadian military life from the 18th century and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage site.
Great time! The staff are dressed up and teach you all about the place while keeping people entertained and happy. Live riffles and cannon demonstrated which was so cool! Good for any age! They have everything from artifacts to bread made right there in the fort! I got some pictures from on the roof and even though it was raining when I went it was still something I'll never forget! A great experience!

Nice historical fort, takes you back to 19th century culture. Lots of cannon of that time, the king’s cutlery, chairs etc are on display.
The place has a general admission fees of 15$, and offers free parking.
Outside view is great to enjoy Lake Ontario views, wolf island visible from here, decent place to enjoy your evening.
Best part of the fort is, in Kingston it is used for festivals and carnivals, like Pumpkin Inferno (pics at the end) and Light Borealis. That’s another reason to visit it in night.

Beautiful historic fort! The displays were well-done and plaques were very informative. I learned a lot during my visit. The view of Kingston and Lake Ontario from the top of the fort is incredible. There are people in era-appropriate costumes to answer any questions. General admission price is reasonable and there is lots of free parking available. Unfortunately, I came on a rainy day so there was no rifle demonstration. Dress appropriately as there are indoor and outdoor walking portions of the self-guided tour. Maps are provided when you check-in but you don't really need it because there are arrows to guide you through. Despite the ongoing pandemic situation, I felt safe visiting. There are hand sanitizers available and enough space to distance yourself from another group. Would recommend to my history-loving friends!

This IHG Hotel has both indoor and outdoor pools, as well as a gym with views of the water. It is centrally located just 5 minutes walk from Kingstons waterfront, K-Rock Center and 1000 Island Cruises.
The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was so busy yet the staff remained helpful, pleasant, professional and patient. A very clean and modern atmosphere. Loved our stay and will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!
Very close to many opportunities the city of Kingston has to offer.

The hotel is centrally located and very convenient. Check in was smooth and efficient. The room scrupulously clean. We were traveling with the dog and I am assuming this was a pet friendly room but it was spotless - even for a picky human!
The beds were extremely comfortable and, high marks for good, fluffy pillows!
The only downside was that the dog was not allowed in the bar or restaurant, only the patio, which in Kingston in December, and in the evening, was not appealing. We managed to make-do and our waitress even managed to find some dog treats and was able to stay in the puppy's (and owner's)good graces.

I wasn't very impressed with this location.
They unprepared for me and my group.
The room they gave me was over the air conditioners so I heard the air conditioners all night long. It's sad they treated a bus driver in this manner.
Also there was a party going on outside and I heard the party going on until 2:00 a.m..
Overall I think this hotel location could have handled the situation so much better.
Perhaps this was an off day. I am willing to give Holly and the benefit of the doubt as I normally have a much better experience.

I stayed at this hotel with a friend when we went to a mutual friend's wedding last year. While the room we stayed in was comfortable, clean, pleasant enough, and we enjoyed walking around the waterfront area, things did not go smoothly or completely well, from the very beginning, and I was overall pretty dissatisfied with the experience.
Right from the start when I was booking the room, I was unhappy. I called the hotel to ask about what the price for a room would be. I wanted to confirm with my friend if the price was OK with her or if we wanted to compare with somewhere else. I called and was informed of the price for a regular room with two queen beds. Then I got off the phone and talked to my friend. When I called the hotel back about an hour later, the agent I spoke with gave me a different price, higher than what I was initially quoted. I was given no warning that they had a fluid pricing scheme that would change in such a short period of time, and the agent didn't care that I had been told a different price and had not been informed and that I was unhappy, so I ended up having to pay a bit more for the second night which made me mad.
The room we were assigned was close to the elevator, which was nice for convenience but we could hear the elevator every time someone got on or got off. It was a little annoying, but mostly tolerable, but things got worse from there.
The night of the wedding we got in kind of late because we were up dancing with our good friend, so we slept in the next morning. Fairly early in the morning, I could hear two people talking loudly outside our room. I could tell from what they were saying to each other than they were hotel staff, I think maintenance staff most likely. They hung around in the hall near our room for quite some time. I just tried my best to ignore it until finally they went away. When I raised this with the receptionist later on, she asked if we had called the front desk. It had not crossed my mind. While perhaps I should have done so, and I will keep that in mind in the future, I did not appreciate that this had been a problem to begin with and I thought it was very inconsiderate.
The morning after the wedding my friend and I had planned to take a city bus to the train station because the fare is pretty reasonable. I had looked into the bus routes a little bit ahead of time, but I figured the front desk would have information about the bus schedule and which route would be the best one to take to the train station. I figured that was a pretty common thing that guests would ask about. Ha! When I went to the front desk, they had absolutely no information about the bus schedules whatsoever, and simply said "We recommend you take a cab." Well, we didn't want to take a cab, we wanted to take a bus. We ended up figuring out where the bus stop was on my friend's phone on Google Maps on our own. I was pretty disappointed that the front desk was no help in that regard.
One positive thing I can say is that they had a room behind the front desk where we could keep our bags until we left, since we were going to get something to eat in town after check-out time. But I think all hotels have that, so it's not exactly a perk.

Beautiful rooms, very clean and bright. Bathroom was lovely and pristine cleanliness. Ventilation system was a bit noisy but a lot of that's on me as I'm a light sleeper. Staff were fantastic! From housekeeping to front desk! Shout out to Sam(antha?) at the front desk for being so kind to me when I had a problem on my final day there. My room was right over the harbour, lovely view! Really enjoyed my stay and hope to be back!
P. S. I should mention that I got a discount rate as I was there with a large group for a conference. Some of the high prices I saw on the website I do think are over-inflated as it is an older building.

The location of this hotel can not be beat! It is at the heart of Kingston with dozens of restaurants and shops seeming to radiate from the front doors. The room we had was very clean and quiet. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent. What really made the stay special was Emily at the front desk. We were in Kingston for surgery I required at a nearby Hospital. Emily was aware of my situation, and was very attentive to our needs. Thank you again Emily...you represent Holiday Inn very well!
Frank Sodonis — Google review
Although we weren’t here for the Kingston attractions or views, I do feel certain hotel rooms should be discounted since they advertise great views. My view was an industrial size air conditioner which pretty much took up our whole view and we were right off the elevator so the constant “ding” of the elevator when in use can be heard.
There was a funky smell throughout the hotel, specifically in the hallways and it wasn’t the cleanest. I’m fine that there is no housekeeping as we generally skip it when staying for a night or two, but there was no housekeeping to be seen for the common areas.
It was a busy weekend with tournaments so you think they would hire more staff to keep up with the hallways and especially the main entrance. It snowed and the carpet was soaking wet and the floor was slippery. It didn’t even appear an attempt was made to keep up with this.
There is no continental breakfast included and parking was an additional fee. These additional fees alone I would not have generally booked here but we were part of a group booking.
If you don’t care about views and just looking for a place to rest your head while here for the downtown attractions, this this hotel will do. It is within walking distance of various shops and restaurants.
The room itself was clean with all the necessary amenities within.
The hotel was ok but I doubt I’d return to this one. Perhaps my experience would be different if the weather was nicer and I wasn’t so close to the elevator with a view of an air conditioner.

Have a soft spot for Holiday Inn. Hotels are generally clean, relatively inexpensive, and have all the amenities you need.

We had to pay $600 for one night. The staff was so unfriendly. Their communication was horrible, and without empathy. There was no 4-star service. The rooms were okay but had mold in the shower and old dirty plastic chairs on the balcony. Parking is not included, and you have to pay at least $24 dollars for 24 hours. I can't recommend staying there. There are way better hotels in Kingston.

The level of customer service we received was outstanding! Our original dinner reservation for a dome was canceled due to the overwhelming response of people flocking to the hotel for the eclipse. Needless to say, I wasn't happy, as this was for my hubby's birthday. Kamal, the F&B supervisor was more than accommodating. Even after I sent some not very nice emails, expressing my displeasure. Once I actual read his email and his offer to make things right, I was quick to apologize. I don't want to be a "Karen". I work retail, so know how customers can be. 😉 When we arrived at the restaurant, he came right over, wished my hubby a happy birthday. I was glad to have the opportunity to apologize in person for my behavior in the emails. He was so understanding. Great personality for the position he holds. Our server, Jasmine was great! Prompt, friendly and apologized for what had happened. Which, she has no control of, I'm sure. Food was outstanding! Burger was one of the best I've had in awhile. The tomato Marmalade made it that much tastier!😋 Hubby said his fish & chips were delicious! Would definitely go there again.

The room very nice and spacious we did have a corner room with harbour view it’s extra but it’s extra room and comfortable.
The staff polite and friendly only downside had problems with room key every day.
They do have a restaurant and swimming pool and fitness area but that was all closed.

3-stars just because there was no housekeeping. You have to request housekeeping, which I did, and they still didn't come. The Delta Waterfront down the road has housekeeping included, no matter what. I get a good rate at this hotel through my company, that's why I stayed here.
Also: no slippers & no laundry bag.
Pros: Dove shampoo/conditioner, clean room, in-house k-cup coffee, bottled water, ondemand movies, ample towels, and beautiful view of the harbour, if you opt for that room.
Notes to management:
1. Carpets need to be upgraded. Makes your rooms look dingy and old, when in fact the furniture in there is just fine.
2. Maybe replace the shower heads in the bathrooms. My water was kind of spurting out in all different directions.
Great sleep. No issues on the mattress/comforters/and pillows.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Waterfront in Kingston on a summer evening during Queen's convocation. The hotel was bustling with activity and seemed to be fully booked. The staff at the front counter were exceptionally friendly and hospitable, which was a great first impression.
The location of the hotel is incredibly convenient, especially for those attending events at the Leon Centre, where Queen's convocation took place. Additionally, it's conveniently situated near downtown sites, making it an ideal choice for tourists.
We opted for a Harborview room and were treated to an amazing view of the main harbour area. The rooms themselves were clean, but there were a couple of drawbacks that affected our overall experience. Firstly, there were no toiletries provided in the room, including basic items like soap, shampoo, conditioner, or moisturizer. We had to call the concierge to have them brought up, which was a slight inconvenience.
The biggest issue we encountered was with the air-conditioning. It was extremely loud, resembling the sound of a jet engine. We found ourselves torn between having a cold room with the noise of a wind tunnel or a quiet room that quickly became uncomfortably warm. Unfortunately, this made it nearly impossible to get a restful night's sleep, and I wouldn't recommend staying here during the summer if this issue persists.
Another aspect that caught my attention was the parking situation. The hotel charges $28 per night for parking, which I believe is quite expensive, especially considering that the Marriott down the street offers free parking for their guests.
In conclusion, the Holiday Inn Waterfront in Kingston is a nice hotel with friendly staff and a fantastic location. However, there are a couple of areas that need improvement. If they can address the noisy air-conditioning and reconsider their parking fees, it would greatly enhance the overall experience for guests.

800$ for two nights… way too overpriced for what you get. Breakfast not included- so go somewhere else if you don’t want to pay for cold eggs and bacon. The staff working at the restaurant looked completely disorganized and overwhelmed. Parking is 30$ a night, which should included if youre paying insane prices to stay at their hotel. Hallways are dark and not clean (stains on carpet and chairs). Rooms were fine but still not worth the price we paid. The shower had what appeared to be mold on the seals. The balcony was covered in spider webs, spider eggs and poop. We paid extra for a « water view »- which was a nice lookout to a construction site. I do not recommend and will not be staying at a holiday inn again.

Stayed here for business with my husband.
Very much enjoyed our stay. Beautiful by the water.
Justin in reservations went above and beyond to help me with a question I had.
Thank you Justin!
I travel for work and because of the great service from Justin, I will continue to stay at this hotel.

Great hotel and great location. Very clean and quiet as advertised. I have stayed at this hotel several times but mainly alone. This past stay I was with my family of 3 and as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces and a Silver member, I received 1 complimentary breakfast ticket. I was very disappointed that this Holiday Inn would be that cheap and when I brought this to their attention...I was told that is their policy. I recommend that all members of the CAF travelling with family in the Kingston area...please stay at Holiday Inn Express Kingston West! It has all the same amenities but only difference is that during my posting we received a complimentary breakfast for ALL family members...not just 1 for everyday we stayed. Thank you again Kingston West for recognizing my whole family.

I came to Kingston for a special occasion to visit my daughter at Queens and was so surprised to find my room decorated, and a complimentary charcuterie board! The staff was so sweet and I was truly touched by their thoughtfulness! Also bonus points for being pet friendly. ❤️ Thanks so much to all at the Holiday Inn Kingston who took the time to make me feel special. It was so appreciated! I will definitely be having a frank discussion with my sister in law about how great my stay was. Thank you!

My mother-in-law booked a waterfront stay back in January it is 4 days from her husband's birthday and they called to cancel. I'm extremely not impressed with the last minute cancellation and they only offered complimentary drinks if she decides to come back. We will be booking elsewhere from now on. Don't waste your time with this company.

I went to a school event for my daughter. We came in from out of town and stayed one night. The weather was terrible, but our stay made up for it. We really enjoyed our time. We decided to eat at the restaurant onsite and choose from a special sampler menu. Our meal was great. The atmosphere was great as well. Our server Sophia was fantastic. There were many hockey players there for a tournament so there was some noise, but things were quiet but around 11, it really was not an issue. We also had breakfast onsite and enjoyed the morning buffet. Note the elevators are small as the hotel is older but it certainly has charm. Our room was clean and everything worked fine.

Beautiful hotel. My check in process took less than 20 seconds. My room was preassigned overlooking the beautiful Water view with a great In House restaurant.
Conveniently located in the heart of downtown this exquisite hotel is right at the end, tip and is near shops, eateries, and local attractions.
The staff was so elegant and so professional and catered to all of my needs. I will be coming here annually, and will be choosing this hotel by far
Keep it up

This is my go to hotel when I travel for work. They are always so accommodating and kind. Very quick to respond to emails and calls as well, which makes my booking process so smooth. It is my home away from home. The location doesn't hurt either, right on the water close to downtown venues, historic sights, and local shops and restaurants.

I had an outstanding stay at your hotel, and I wish to extend my appreciation, particularly to Jasmeet from the reception staff. The room's stunning water view added to the pleasure of my stay, and the hotel's central location proved extremely convenient. Thank you for providing a wonderful experience!

The king size bed was fantastic, however the bathroom was a little small and awkwardly laid out. We were there for the Solar Eclipse so it was busy and unfortunately the sound from the hallways was quite loud.
Tranquil lake with no obvious water source, popular for angling for bass, pike & sunfish.
Amazing scenery and there's a nice walking trail. Ample parking nearby. Breath taking views. Restaurants nearby or have a picnic in the park.

A cool park where you can see Lake Ontario and then Lake on the Mountain around 60m above that (you really understand the name when you see it). I’d say it’s probably not worth a long drive but definitely worth a stop if it’s on your way. A new viewing deck is being built currently

A magical lake high above Lake Ontario. Clear, clean water. A great stop in Prince Edward County. The only thing is there is a requirement to have a Canada Parks parking permit on your car, but no way to print it from the internet - doesn’t make sense.

It's a nice place to stop, but I didn't find it as impressive as it sounded. I wouldn't recommend making a trip from Toronto to see it, but if you're visiting the area (e.g., at Sandbanks), then it makes sense to add it to your itinerary.
The brewery down the road is pretty nice, though!

We went from Toronto, almost 2 hours drive. It doesn’t worthy. It was just small lake and few tables. It’s exactly the same as photo that I shared. It’s good for local people that not need to drive hours.
Sandbanks Provincial Park is a recreational oceanfront park that boasts the world's largest sand dune system and freshwater sand bar. It is situated on the picturesque beaches of Lake Ontario in Prince Edward County, offering visitors an opportunity to escape city life and enjoy peaceful rural surroundings. The park features various beaches with clear blue waters, picnic areas, camping sites, and level grounds perfect for families with small children.
Stunning park! Stayed over the May long weekend, and it was a great trip. We were in Outlet River Campground B, highly recommend, very private camp sites. Bathrooms and showers were also very clean. Lots of nature and trails to explore! Beach is a 10/10 too!

We did a 450km day trip to visit the park, after watching a TV documentary about it. The park facilities were not open yet but we could walk the dunes. We practically had the dunes to ourselves and spend a good 3 hours walking around and had some lunch on one of the higher dunes with some good views. It was very windy so didn't see much animal life. Overall feeling I think the TV show was more impressive but we still enjoyed the silince between the dunes.

View-wise it is breathtaking! Anyone who enjoys beaches or swimming or open views or fresh air from the lake won’t be disappointed! The water is not deep, perfect for family with kids. It’s already warm in the shallow end at the end of June.
Facility-wise, the park has campgrounds with shady and open surroundings, washrooms and showers with hot water as all provincial parks do in Ontario. The water temperature and faucet can use some work, but generally functional and useful.

Just a spectacular place to explore, relax, and do great outdoor activities. Did a nice 40km gravel bike ride a bit through the park . . . Perfect for out and back. The next day did a huge hike over the dunes to the highest point that offered an amazing 360 view of all the scrub. Went down to the beach on the south side and had some equally great views. Dress for sand. They're not joking with the name.

Sandbanks provincial Park was absolutely beautiful! I went during the peak of the summer, when it was one of the hottest days of the month, so the beaches were incredibly busy! If you want to get a good spot, I do recommend to go early! I didn’t end up spending that much time at the beach, I decided to take the trails, and I’m so glad I did! The sandbanks dune Trail was
mostly sand, so make sure you have decent footwear! It was quite the challenge on such a day, but made the dip in the water that much better at the end of the day! The beach was fairly shallow, so great for kids!

It might be a good place to enjoy the beach, but not friendly with hikers especially when it is a sunny hot day. No tall trees, shade along the trail. We were like dying hiking.

We go camping every year, and Sandbanks is one of our favourites.
We went to Cedars campground and it does not have electricity, which is fine for us. Free water supply is nearby, and shower+washroom facility and within a 1-minute walk and clean.
The beach is beautiful and long.
There are also hiking trails that are not difficult.
There is a convenience store and restaurant on site. Prices are fair.
You will not be disappointed.

We spent three nights at Sandbanks in the Woodlands section. As the name implies this area is heavily wooded providing lots of shade. The outer rim provides more privacy. The comfort station was well maintained, as well as the campground and beach. If you’re into kayaking or canoeing, I highly recommend doing the channel that connects East Lake to Lake Ontario. The one disappointment was there was very little wildlife, accept for beautiful Swans. If you’re into bicycling be sure to bring your bicycles, as the roads through the park are paved. There are no lifeguards.

Stretches of long white sand beaches, beautiful clean water and dunes to play in, hard to believe Sandbanks is in Ontario. Off season a quiet place to walk dogs off leash and peaceful. Highly recommend!

Really loved Sandbanks park. We were fortunate to visit on a warm October day when the park was virtually empty. The beach is stunning and my wife and I had it virtually to ourselves. We also walked one of the hiking trails and we’re very impressed. I understand this place is jam packed in the summer so recommend visiting off season!

Sandbanks has always been one of my favourite beaches to go to! It's gotten more and more popular over the years so it gets quite busy. I recommend buying a reservation online because in the summer months the park will close early because it's at max capacity. Great beach and water! The hiking trails are great too!

Loved this park! It is HUGE! The beach is massive with a great dog beach as well. Can get very busy however we didn't have any issues. We had a site in a forested area, which was great, however some of the field sites not in the forest didn't feel as private.

Very beautiful and serene beach, and clean too. Impressive shoreline almost competing against Caribbean beaches. It’s advisable to book the parking online in advance. Get there early to beat the rush on weekends.

I visited during the fall (the last weekend before the park’s winter closure) and it was beautiful to see the blue water contrasted with the warm colours of fall leaves. There are a few shorter hikes you can do, making it a great place to stop for the day. Would recommend the Dunes Trail and Lakeview Trail. Very interesting to see the dunes. I brought my dog and it’s one of the few parks with a significant beach area where dogs are permitted. Use Google Maps to find the trail heads because that’s 1 thing the park map is missing.

We stayed at Sandbanks in mid-October in the Woodlands Campground for 3 nights. Because it was late in the season, we chose a full sun site in order to stay warmer. The site, 608, was spacious and was easy to get our 30’ travel trailer into place. The one strange thing about the electric (30/20 amp) was that the pole for the site also serviced the adjacent site. In our case, the pole was on the curb side of our trailer. Although it worked because of our long cord, I would have liked to choose a site based which side the pole was on. I am not sure this information is available specifically on the reservation website or if it is an look e too o be discerned from the pictures of the site. Of the campgrounds that were open, this campground was the best suited for larger trailers and RVs. There was another campground that was not open that looked promising. The older campgrounds would have been fun for me back when I was tent camping many with some direct beach access. The restrooms and showers were clean and had plenty of hot water and pressure. The one drawback was the button that needed to be pushed to continue the water flow. We really enjoyed exploring the park and the surrounding area. I really appreciated that the park provided dog friendly areas at the beaches. The beaches were expansive and the dunes were beautiful. The area has a large number of wineries, 35 in Prince Edward County. There was services such as a grocery store, bank, and gas station with diesel in Wellington about a half hour away. The cell service at the campground was not reliable. 1 bar of Verizon. I would definitely return to this park although I suspect that it is a much different place in the height of beach season.

This beautiful blue water beach was super crowded on a sunny day. The water wasn’t so cold and you could easily swim or play. Outlet beach is usually crowded so we always go to Dunes beach. The campsites were pretty close to the beach and you could easily walk around. Restrooms are not so clean, but manageable. Try to reach early to reserve a good spot under the shades.

Lovely beaches, shallow shores, clean sand. Great way to spend your weekend on the beach, relax with family, enjoy the sun while you can. Protip: get your day permits online and that'll save you from waiting in lines at the gate. Clean restrooms, changing stations, cafes and ample parking. Perfect getaway.
We also camped at one of the sites, loved it. Will be back soon.

The Sandbanks are one of my favourite places for summer camping.
The Dunes beach is walking distance ( by trail ) from the far campsites with hydro.
There is washrooms / showers on site.
The Dunes beach has a playground, volleyball and washrooms. There is parking available.
If you have paid for camping your day parking is included.
Great place for overnight camping for beginners.

We love going here every summer. Outlet beach is always packed during summer weekends so go by 10 am or at 3 pm. We love climbing the sand dunes at Sandbanks Dunes Beach. Lots of trails and lots to do. I suggest you book a day pass and preregister. This way you will always have access.

I really love Sandbanks campsite and beaches. You need to make sure you book your campsite prior to your visit and if you’re visiting for the day, make sure to buy the day-use pass online since they sell out very fast during summertime.
I love the beaches here. The public use beach is busier than the beach at the campsite, but both are equally enjoyable since they have shallow sandy beaches.
The park is well-maintained and washrooms and garbage bins are available.
Official museum of the Royal Canadian Air Force, containing numerous historic aircraft.
Absolutely impressive museum, showcasing the history of Canadian aviation. Make sure you set aside enough time for your visit. There are many beautifully disinged displays, some in comic-book narration style. The 'aircraft yard' is vast, with tens of flying machines on display. Definitely worth visiting.

Visited the museum during the Labour Day long weekend as part of a day trip from Toronto. It was well worth the drive!
Upon entering, a gentleman staff/volunteer very nicely gave us a rundown of the museum’s exhibits and layouts. The museum has interior and exterior parts – I really enjoyed the exterior exhibits. The exterior grounds were a lot bigger than it seems, with military and civilian planes alike lined up, so I’d suggest visiting on a clear, warm day. My favourite was the platypus-looking Pratt & Whitney flying test bed, converted from a Boeing 720.
The interior of the museum has two levels. The main aircraft collection is on the ground level, while the second level, which wraps around the ground level, has various smaller exhibits, including one that is currently under construction. However, the exhibits seem to be designed in different time periods and have different levels of consistency. The second level also has great vantage points for the aircraft on the ground level. In all, the museum is a must-visit in the area and worth spending at least two hours.

Very extensive but concise presentations of the Royal Air Force history and alliances during the war time real operational defence in strategies and tactics from pilots cadet programs. Hopefully I’ll bring my friends and family here, good education to the kids that interested in the Air Force or aviation industry. I will definitely come again for more events and outdoor tour particularly updating more women cadets in the modern roles in leadership.

A must visit if you are passing by. Every exhibit is worth spending time on. Unfortunately, we arrived just an hour before closing time, so couldn't explore as much as we would have liked. Special thanks to the volunteer guide who enthusiastically narrated to us the history and the fine details of the main attraction - the Halifax bomber.

Seabreeze Amusement Park is a popular family amusement park located in Lake Ontario in the town of Fairport. With more than 70 attractions, it has something for everyone and is a great place to spend a summer day. There are four rides, including Whirlwind, Jack Rabbit, Bobsleds, and Bear Trax. The Revolution 360 thrill ride is especially thrilling and offers panoramic views of the lake.
Excellent Amustment Park.
Very clean, welcoming.
Loved that picnic tables, were in many places around the park.
The grandkids couldn't get enough of all the rides.
It was great to see rides near water area.
So the kids could go from one to another.
Hats off to the owners, for free parking & letting families bring in the coolers for their lunch.

It was an especially hot and crowded day today, but Seabreeze staff kept the park tidy and orderly. We appreciated the free water on such a hot day. Other park perks are free tickets for active and veteran military and free sanitary products in multiple places throughout the park. The compact layout makes it easy to keep track of children, and the staff (especially security) are very helpful.

Good visit for a small amusement park. Very busy as it was a school retreat day. Normal price is 40.00 to get in which I find fairly steep for what is there. It was school day discount so I got in for 25.00. My friend has a military i.d. so she got in for free. The jack rabbit was my favorite ride and the carousel history was interesting to read.

Our family loved our visit to Seabreeze. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Be aware that they check your bags and coolers, if you bring them, so you'll stop at the beginning for that. Then if you choose you can stow your items in a locker for a fee. There were some long lines for certain water slides and rides but we had so much fun that we didn't mind. All the rides and slides were so fun. The staff were all polite as well. The show that they had during lunch, with some really talented performers, was an added bonus, as were the beautiful flower planters around the park. It was a lovely place to spend a day.

Great park for the whole family, inexpensive, small and a very good place to go to people watch!!!! It's can get VERY interesting there. Security is always present and they are very pleasant, aware and on top of things as they are literally everywhere which is reassuring since it isn't in a great area( but really where in Rochester is seeing how it's increasingly diverse there was actually a shooting there a few years back luckily our friends and family had already left for the day as we live a couple hours away) I highly recommend this place. The risk is probably no greater than anywhere else as we know people get out of hand easily these days especially with the heat, the crowds, and the lines.

Great local amusement park that is good for summer visits. I will say if you live in the area and want to go more than once it is much more worth your money to buy a season pass. Good selection of midsized coasters and larger rides along with kiddie rides. Great water ride selection. One of the best parts of the park is they allow outside food and have free parking for everyone which greatly decreases the cost of going.

This was an excellent amusement park; not too big and not too small. I took my five and seven-year-old boys and they had an absolute blast. Both were 48 inches so they were able to ride everything. The water park also had lots of variety and was included in admission. We had so much fun. They even had a free acrobatic/trampoline performance. I highly recommend this to any family with younger children and even teenagers seem to be having fun.

It’s one of the most amazing amusements I have ever seen. I visited the place on weekdays. My family and I enjoyed it the most. Although, it wasn’t the largest and newest amusement. From Canada to Rochester is worth the visit and I highly recommend it.

My mother suggested we take my son here. He is 4 yo & had an amazing time. There were so many more rides that he could go on than I thought. 36" or higher can ride on about 1/2 of the rides as long as there is an adult with them. That includes the pirate ship! Which he absolutely loved. The food was okay, but the grill food came out quick. The staff were all really nice despite being what seemed a little short handed that day. The ride managers were out there filling in too and they were great with the kids! Water rides were fun and everyone was just enjoying the day. We had a blast.

Good experience! Came during a weekday and park was busy close to the end of the season. Low wait times and the lifeguards all works together to keep a safe environment for the kids and adults to play in. Nice spot for the small kiddos in the water park and the ride park, even though we were focused on the bigger attractions for our bigger-than-kiddie-sized kids. Nice atmosphere and people were overall nice and good vibes. Enough attractions and rides to keep interest for 5 hours and could have kept going. Only left because of the price of food and it was dinnertime for 4 hungry people! Love the area right next to the Great Lake Ontario, gorgeous views and beautiful scenery. Definitely worth it.

There aren't many amusement parks near Rochester, so it's a good place to have fun, family time. It's not huge, but enough rides and water activities to spend the day. There are no huge queues on the rides, too. 10-15min wait max.
Entry:
There was a queue, and it took time to get in with already paid tickets since the barcode was not picked up by machines
Staff:
Overall friendly but looked tired. It was hot that day.
Rides:
There are mix rides to enjoy for the rest of the family. Good water sports activities.
Parking:
There is additional parking to accommodate guests. Free of cost.

It is always enjoyable going to the Big Apple. I always buy my favourite mumble crumble apple bread. There is even a recipe for making french toast and pudding out of this bread. I just love the bread, apple pie, apple strudel, apple cider, apple turnover, apple crisp, just about everything. If only this is close to where I live. The price is so reasonable. One can even see how they are baked. Their products are always fresh.

Seems quite popular and to a large extent for a reason. Got the apple bread (not their mumble crumble bread but their original one), the apple tart and the apple crumble pie.
Not sure how these breads are supposed to be but I expect the flavour, the stuff, the sweetness to be throughout the bread but it’s not - definitely not. The bread is tough too. But this is not the only place which serves such fruit breads of similar quality, taste and texture. Makes me wonder if I am the one who needs to understand it better and acquire a taste for it.
The apple tart was good - a pack of four cost around $9 (incl taxes) and it was worth it. One could taste the freshness of the filling including the apples. The apple crumble pie was good too - the crust was crispy and and lightly sweet, the filling was dense and sweet and, nice and “apple-y”. A small size pie (600g) cost around another $9, which made more sense for us than a single slice for $5.25.
Would recommend visiting the place and we could also try some other stuff from there if we ever pass by.

Due to the epidemic, some areas are not open. Their apple pie is still so delicious! Their constant quality will be an important part of the brand's history.
Another very unique view of the attraction - when you just drive out of the highway and enter the town, the first thing to greet you is a church cemetery. The area is very large, almost the whole road from the time you entered the town to the big apple attraction, full of cemeteries and tombstones.
If the annual Halloween special event is held here every year, amazing@(・●・)@

What a lovely place for kids and family! Just about an hour and half drive from Toronto - this beautiful farm has everything apple! From a giant big Apple to click pictures with to tasty treats. Must try- the Apple cheesecake bar! Also the animal petting farm and the collectibles store here is amazing! Definitely a great weekend visit!

Nice place to buy apple pies and lot of delicacy. We bought Sparkling Apple cider, crullers and turnovers. I love the turnovers and apple cider. Both are delicious. There is a nice open view of the staff preparing Apple pies. Awesome. Lot of attractions around the park with a big Apple smiley, farmers market with fresh natural goods, rides for children, fish and chips, souvenir shops etc. Best place to stop and relax on 401 highway.

Used to cross this big apple while driving towards west from Toronto. This is the first time we got the opportunity to explore this. I haven't realized how interesting it is. They build the place thoughtfully. We enjoyed all activities and different food. Their vegetable pie is the best one in my life.

We had a fantastic time. Wish we could've stayed longer. So many varieties of food to choose from. Great souvenir shops and desserts are so good. You have to come and try them. Worth visiting! Great for pit stop!

Whether on the way to Toronto or heading back, I always make a point to stop by this place. It's such a delightful spot to spend some time. My go-to treats are the apple bread and the cherry cruller, but honestly, everything they serve is fantastic. It's definitely a must-visit spot.

I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was one of the worst I ever had. On the other hand, my daughters had the grilled cheese, whit apple bread and it was great !
The fries looks good , but not the kind I like, they where too big, and dry inside. I would recommend asking for a bit more golden fries, and don’t thane the pulled pork!

Such a great place to stop while traveling! They make some of the best apple pies I’ve ever had! Plus they have so much you can do, which makes it a great place to take a break and stretch your legs. They have mini golf, a petting zoo, you can watch them make the pies, a small pub and ice cream, gift shops and so much more! I recommend it to any friends or family driving near by!

The Big Apple doesn't disappoint :) There are a lot of 'apple' options like pie, strudel, cider and a ton more. Moreover, the smokehouse fills the area with a satisfying smell. Looks like over a few thousand products to shop and there is also a garden decor boutique. Lots of fune for everyone.

Interesting and fun market to visit for locals and tourists. Lots of variety of food, but mostly guilty pleasures (pie, pizza, candy, beavertail, donut, chocolate, maple treats, etc.). The big apple has an observation deck at the top. I'll be sure to visit again in the future.
They have free level 2 EV chargers.

A fantastic stop along the 401 highway! The shop offers freshly baked apple pie and a delightful array of pastries and other delicious treats. A must-visit for a quick and tasty break during your journey.

I visited The Big Apple after almost 30 years while on my to eastern Ontario. I remember them having the best apple pies amongst other menu items. But I did not anticipate the sheer options they had. The Christmas decorations inside had been set up and the experience was that of being transported to a Christmas market wonderland. Took a while to take in all the various displays. I ended up grabbing some fresh maple syrup and apple crumble, but I will be back for sure ( to take in the Christmas market and other activities).
Even after all these years the food quality has only gotten better. I strongly recommend anyone heading along the 401 to take sometime and stop in. You won't be disappointed. Even if you don't have a trip planned its only a 1.5 hour drive from Toronto and well worth the visit.

It’s a nice place to stop by. Big Apple is super cute and you can click pics with it. Kids love it too. There are orchards where you can go Apple picking in Apple season. Otherwise also the place is open all year long so you can visit anytime

It's a great stopover during our winter road trip. The Big Apple appears to be open all-around season where in wintertime there is a lot of Christmas decor out plus a Christmas market. I enjoyed my time browsing through the country grocery store, where they sold more than just apple produce. There's fresh honeycombs, baked goods, toffee and other farm produce sold fresh here. At that time we also got a free box of honey candies with our purchase during a winter sale. The raw honeycomb tasted awesome!
Prices vary depending on what you're buying. There are restrooms available, and a factory section where you can watch bakers create the apple baked goods like pie from scratch. I definitely want to visit this place again, during the summer and recommend this place to anyone on the highway passing. The Big Apple is an open and welcoming place to customers of all ages and very family friendly too!

Great spot to stop on a roadie. The treat shoppe within is an excellent stop for some gummies and they have halal ones there as well. There also a store with lots of pies and tarts and other delicious items. There is also windows to peek through to see the magic. There is also a restaurant with some food items and a petting zoo for the children. All in all a good spot.

Worth a visit and a great pitsstop on the 401 East. Ample parking space. Lots of activities to do for kids. Good Food options inside and also in the food trucks that were present outside. They have so many varieties of desserts and bakery items. Very hard to resist. Priced nominally. There is a mini golf course which even adults can play, some rides for the kids and a petting zoo as well. A great spot for a summer weekend.
Riverview Park & Zoo is a wonderful destination suitable for families with young children. The park boasts a playground, splash pad, and mini-train ride in addition to over 25 animal exhibits. Visitors should plan ahead and purchase tickets online to avoid disappointment as the park can get busy on weekends. The zoo is clean and well-maintained, providing a pleasant experience for guests of all ages. Peacocks add to the charm of the park, and visitors can even enjoy lunch with them!
My family loves this zoo. This was our first time there since the pandemic and we had a great time. We went on a Sunday and it wasn't crowded at all. You may want to check ahead, I'm glad I did because we had to buy tickets ahead of time. I was surprised how clean it was, which was really nice. The peacocks were beautiful and you can have lunch with them.
It is perfect for families but anyone can have a great time. We didn’t even cover the whole park in a day; I can’t wait to come back! The animals are incredible! I highly recommend this place.

What a great place to bring the kids and spend the day! Large open playground with a great selection of activities for all ages. Splash pad is small but lots of fun. The stroll along the woods to see the animals was amazing. the train ride was a bit further away but worth the walk. there is a small $2.00 fee There are mosquitoes neat the snack bar so have bug spray. plenty of picnic tables around to sit and lots of shade from the tall trees. There were washrooms all around and were very clean.

My kids loved it. There are quite a collection of animals and they looked really well taken care of. The area is clean and I would say kid friendly. The playground is really good as well as there’s an option from toddler to big kids to use. The kids enjoyed the splash pad as well. The kids love the train ride and the payment for the ticket is very affordable. You just need to go to the very end of the zoo to ride the train. There is a picnic area and a lot of free parking. There’s a washroom at the entrance of the zoo and at the end as well right pass the waste water treatment plant.

I still can't believe that the zoo was free! It has everything! Animals, craft area, snack shop, little train (that costs $4/adult), 2 playgrounds and a splash pad. If we lived in Peterborough, this would be our go to place. My kids when asked me to move to Peterborough purely because of this place!

This is such a cute place, small but interesting. Its also free, and you can make donations at your discretion. It's especially great if you have kids. There's a good park right next to it! They have cool animals like reindeer, camels, peacocks, and meerkats! But also more common animals like pigs, turkeys, tortoises, and snakes. It's definitely stroller or wagon friendly, and there's lots of parking. There isn't an incredible amount of walking to do, so if you want a nice short day out it's perfect.

I've lived in Peterborough for over 4 years and I just went to the zoo for the first time this past weekend with my boyfriend. The zoo was very clean and there were lots of animals to see. It's completely free of charge to visit and there is free parking. There is a canteen to purchase snacks and refreshments and a train ride for "kids" that cost $2/ride. I went on it and it was a cute date.
Also brought my nephew here with my mom and he had a blast.

Amazing time. I grew up nearby and I was so happy to be able to bring my own daughter and husband here 💓 we loved seeing the animals and learning about them. The splash pad and playground were great fun! The train ride broke after we waited close to an hour for it but that happens it was out of anyone's control we got a refund and didn't take away from the fun we had. Great place for kids and adults it can get hot and crowded so water and hats are helpful.

The zoo has limited amount of animals but still great. The area is very spacious and well-kempt. Thank you so much, Peterborough for this gem!

The play ground is large and washrooms are available.

All this for free?? Thank you to the community for sharing this beautiful park and zoo with us! If I lived in Peterborough I'd be there every week. I didn't get to ride the train so I'll be back!
Cobourg Beach is a beautiful Lake Ontario beach that's perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and picnicking. It has restrooms, a splash pad, playgrounds, picnic areas, and a canteen. It's great for families with small children or groups of beach-loving pals. If you're looking for an escape from Toronto, Cobourg Beach should definitely be on your list!
I always love to go to the beach. It's such a great experience for my young ones. Nice little play structures and the water pad will be an excellent little bonus for the children when it opens up. The kids will love it! I am excited for all the new events coming this summer!

Arrived at 9AM to secure parking and choose a good spot.
Parking said $40 all day, however machine keeps adding more even after reaching $40.
Beach is clean, sand felt fine and soft on the feet; the water was not too cold. There are 2 water parks and swings for children to enjoy.
Tables by the park are available to use.
Washroom was clean and well stocked, some sinks are out of service. Would have been better if there was a rinse area. There’s water filling station by the corner of washroom.
Overall, one of the best beaches we’ve been too. Would come back next year when it’s warm.

Sand is soft. Doesn't hurt when you walk barefeet.
I went at 9am on a rainy Saturday. Literally the only one on the beach. I hear that it's usually really busy.
More people came at 10am.
Beach is so clean.
Picnic tables available just off the beach.
Splash pad is great! My toddler loved it.
Paid parking.

This is a beautiful spot for anyone to enjoy.
There is a water park, park, cover picnic area, clean bathroom, restaurants, shopping, some food truck and sightseeing.
You can always find a good spot to set up on the sand area. If you're looking to set-up in the shade area, you need to come earlier (9am or earlier).
Parking can get expensive, and sometimes you have to park some distance. I would advise dropping off your load and anyone that can't walk far.
After four at some spot parking is free.
We have been here for July 1st and had a great time.
Do remember to bring everything needed, to enjoy the beach and sun.
If you stay till about 8pm, you can watch or hear the guy playing the Uilleann Pipes, by the water. 🪗

Cobourg Beach, situated along the open beachfront between Victoria Park and Lake Ontario, offers a pristine and spacious environment. It's an ideal spot for intimate family gatherings, leisurely strolls in the sand, or allowing the kids to engage in some sandcastle construction.
Paid parking is conveniently available, and during our visit, the beach was pleasantly uncrowded. Notably, there's a mat that stretches from the walkway near the water's edge, presumably to prevent sand from infiltrating your footwear.
If the need arises for restroom facilities, you can easily access them at Victoria Park, which you'll pass through en route to the beachfront.

Beautiful, sandy beach. Clear and clean waters. Family-friendly environment. Considering there are many people, it did not feel crowded due to the large sandy space, and it is well-maintained and clean.
For parents with strollers and wagons, there is a path in the middle that makes it easy to navigate wheeled equipments.
There's a nice playground and splashpad available too.
There are yachts on the other side, which makes for a nice walk. There are some restaurants nearby too.
There are toilets available and ample of parking (although a little expensive).

Love the Marina and the Beach at Cobourg. The city is very clean; they clean every morning. The beach is clean and huge. We happened to be there on the day of the sandcastle competition. There are good places to eat around the beach. The Victoria Park is a fantastic location for picnic. No BBQ or cooking allowed. Bring cooked food and enjoy nature!
I really appreciate the effort put in to make the beach accessible for wheel chairs, walkers, and strollers.

Longtime family-owned zoo featuring big cats & other endangered animals, a lodge & a snack bar.
My toddler was both scared and loved being there. You can get close with the animals which was super cool. There's also a little playground where we spent some time. All together we were there for an hour and a half. We tried the burger, hot dog and chicken burger from the Cafe. Not bad, not great lol the hamburger was the best of the 3. This was our first visit and I would definitely go back.

We had an incredible day! The staff at the park are so amazing. They went out of their way to make our behind the scenes experience memorable. We fed lions and tigers and hung out with the lemurs! We even got to see a baby lemur barely 2 days old! How cool!
The park is clean and well laid out. There’s lots of things for the kids to climb on. A bit of a playground and an awesome tree to explore. The rabbits were also a huge hit. Not every day you can hang out with alpacas and donkeys and lions and jaguars and and and and!!!!

The staff was also friendly and polite giving you all the information about the animals.

Went here over the summer, and forgot to leave a review then. We paid for the extra packages to be able to feed the lemurs, and also the lions and tigers. Worth the money for sure! I came all the way from Rochester NY, but my fiancé is Canadian (Lindsay, ON). The zookeepers are very friendly and knowledgeable. And according to one of them, my fiancé was the first person the baby lemur ever climbed onto. Before we entered the exhibit, she told us that the baby was very shy and wouldn’t climb onto us. Then it jumped right onto him, and started grooming him! 😂
Very cool place, we would visit again.

The kind old lady who owns the place was very welcoming and sweet.

I'm not a big fan of zoos and would rather see the animals in the wild. But when I went to the Jungle Cat World, it was better than I expected.
I had a fantastic experience. It was way better than anything I could expected. Their staff was so friendly and so nice. Really enjoy our conversations with Candice and Jesse. They cared for the animals as if they were related to them, and liked them. They had these amazing bonds and told these awesome stories of the animals and growing up with them from they were babies in certain cases. You could see some of the animals excited to see Candice and Jesse. Their passion for the animals was so awesome.
I had the opportunity to do a behind the scenes experience. in this experience, you got to pick 3 animals that you want to feed and have a closer interaction with period I picked the jaguar, Snow leopard and tiger. The reason I picked these animals are because I'm about to head to India. To try and find lions, Leopards, tigers and snow leopards. I thought it would be smart for me to have an experience a close to a couple of these animals before I went so I booked my experience for just days before I was to travel to India and brought a very talented artist and former roommate in University with me.
When I arrived at the gate I checked in at the front door and they explained to me what was going on and I wandered through the zoo and saw more animals than I expected. It was very cool. The enclosures were a little bit smaller than I might have wanted having just returned from tracking cheetahs in Africa. But these are animals that are not allowed to be reintroduced to the wild because of potentially different reasons and their space are bigger the ministry guidelines.
I hope to visit them again in March with stories of wild cats for their awesome staff.

Overall will definitely be recommending friends to visit and will visit again in the near future to try the cabin experience.

Had a wonderful time at Jungle Cat World with my family. Went on a Sunday and it wasn't so busy where you couldn't enjoy yourself or get a good view. Every animal was so close up which was delightful. Got to see the wolves and the lion/lioness get fed which was neat. Spent two hours just taking our time to see everything and we really loved seeing some animals roam freely amongst us. Mikey the Donkey was the star of the show. There's also a space where you can pet and feed the bunnies. Just a really happy experience. The cafe and gift shop seemed to be closed but washrooms were open. Will definitely come back in the summer time!

What an amazing place to visit and experience. All of the animals are so happy and have bonded to their loving keepers. Completed the Behind the Scenes experience with the amazing Jesse, who you can tell is super passionate about her role. Fed a gorgeous striped hyena named Ed, howled with Loki the wolf, and fed Belak the stunning snow leopard. Jesse spent time explaining everything about the animals, and its safe to say this is not the last time I'll visit! You can also watch their daily feeding at 1:30pm and learn about the different animals, and pet bunnies, goat, a donkey and alpacas that roam throughout the sanctuary!! Thank you for being such an amazing sanctuary to these well-loved angels.

First time visiting the estate to attend the Lawn Maker show on September 19. The show featured local small businesses so we were happy to support local vendors.
Beautiful garden and grounds. Limited parking on the estate but there is a parking garage beside the site. We paid $9 for a few hours.
They offer tours and high tea in the garden that is booked in advanced. We plan on coming back another day for that but it may have to wait until next year because there are no more slots for the rest of the season.
There is a small gift shop to check out. The neat part is to see all the movies that have been shot on the grounds of the estate.
A beautiful, peaceful oasis east of Toronto. Definitely worth the visit.

There are several tours you can choose from and we are very glad to have toured the mansion today.
Look at their excellent website or call their helpful staff and volunteers. Elizabeth was great. Thanks for answering a hundred questions. This amazing place sits in the midst of Oshawa and they don't charge for parking? That's generous.

We attended for the Lavender Picnic on July 9.
We appreciated the beauty of the grounds and the nicely boxed luncheon consisting of a chicken sandwich, two mini lavender cookies, two cannolis, small lavender iced tea.
We felt that for the price of a ticket total $53.55, it should have included some type of program, even for 1/2 hour.
Their advertising was confusing, as it did not specify that when booking it was for one person, stating "bring a friend", which implies two people and not "invite a friend"

This is a beautiful estate to visit for historical importance. Visiting this place takes you back in time. Well maintained but we visited in November. The guided tour of 90 minutes costs $12 for seniors. There are many guided tours within the estate for which you have to check the website. We got to see the living, dining, family room and Library, The Recreation area included Swimming, blowing ally and pool table. The tour was worth it. Will return in Summer. A list of movies that were filmed here is included here.

Absolutely amazing. We did 2 tours. The specialty greenhouse tour followed by the auto baron tour. Both tour guides were phenomenal. So passionate and knowledgeable. Cannot wait to return and learn more about the fascinating McLaughlin family and their estate.

This is a hidden gem! I live close by and was never aware of this place! We took a guided tour of the palace and it was incredible! The tour guides/crew are all awesome friendly and make you feel at home, they made this experience even more remembrable. Thank you Vivian, you are doing great. ❤️ The estate itself is great, has a tea restaurant near the fountain and water body which is an amazing experience. I'm looking forward to booking the next tour of the servant quarters and first floor in the fall. It's a wonderful place, even if you're not a fan of history, a must visit!

Definitely the most underrated and overlooked spot in Oshawa. We loved our tour of the mansion - it was a fascinating exploration of a major Canadian figure I’d never even heard of. Then we explored the grounds - which are free and open to everyone and are absolutely gorgeous. They’re also going to look very familiar to fans of Billy Madison, Nightmare Alley, Ready of Not, or any number of other films that have featured the grounds’ fountain.

This was a really great experience and I highly recommend it!
I did the Auto Baron Tour with friends. This is a bit of an overview tour vs the other more specialized tours. Our tour guide, Zoe, was quite informative and did a wonderful job painting a picture of what life was like, while deftly handling some of our esoteric questions!
The home is stunning and well maintained, and the grounds spectacular as well. There is so much to cover, I now understand why there are so many different tours! I'll just have to go back to check out other parts of the home!
ETA: I have also done the Christmas tour and Greenhouse tour, and thoroughly enjoyed them. Lovely to learn more about this fascinating family although it's a real treat having Zoe for a tour guide as her passion and admiration really shine through.
I did the Christmas tour with my mom and sister, and the Greenhouse tour with my husband and 4 year old son. The home and grounds are so extensive, and the history spans so many decades, that multiple tours really allow you to dive in and discover many enjoyable nuances.

This place is a haven in the middle of Oshawa. It was built by Sam Mclaughlin who eventually founded General Motor s. It is a designated Historical site. I still haven't visited the actual house but I will.
The gardens are out of this world. They reminded me of European gardens. I visited in September and October and I have to return next summer. There is a a tea house and a gift store.
Do visit here, I know I will return.

Beautiful historic mansion with unique features like a bowling lane and indoor pool. Many movies have been filmed here. There is even a tour highlighting them. Great history facts from the tour guides who are very knowledgeable . Don't forget to stop at the gift shop for some lovely items!

Two intriguing elements were the house and the gardens. Even in early Fall, the latter were beautiful with a wide range of flower types and colours with the contrasting green of the lawns. The house was an impressive collection of different rooms many of which contained the original furniture. Wonderfully high ceilings with wood panelled walls and contrasting plaster mouldings. A detailed presentation by the knowledgeable docent gave a warm insight into the personalities of the family. Well worth visiting. Combined house and garden visit would need about 2.5 hours.

Came to the Teahouse for a summer evening dinner. Wasn't too busy but apparently we came on the last day for dinners for the summer so could be why. We made reservations and we're seated front and centre of the fountain. Stunning view! 😍 the hostess and wait staff were very attentive and friendly! The food and drinks were great and we loved getting to walk around the estate afterwards to enjoy the scenery. Definitely will be coming back next summer to try out the afternoon tea as well!

It’s very beautiful and not too crowded. Very nice vibes.
The staff are all very friendly and amazing! They help you as much as they can.
I went to buy tea and they were very helpful and answered all my questions.
I needed to charge my phone and they even helped me out with that!
I also did the tour which was very informative.
I really recommend this place to people who want a relaxing day at a beautiful place with a lot of beautiful flowers!
