Creamiest ice cream and friendliest cows ever!! Staff were also lovely. I would definitely recommend passing by if you’re in salmon arm, especially if you have kids!

Was nice place to visit quiet and good service.
We bought a large pail of tiger tiger ice-cream sadly is was lacking the licorice in the tiger tiger so that was kind of disappointing for the price i expected better 😕 It appeared on the outside of the container it was mixed in nicely but when we opened it the middle had no licorice. Also we noticed the ice cream wasn't nearly as creamy as it used to be, it was almost more grainy and had a weird texture.
It used to be great years ago not sure if they changed the receipe but more licorice in there would make it great again.

BEST CHOCOLATE MILK you can find! We had such a great experience visiting Dutchmen’s Dairy. Highly recommend taking a stop to check this place out.
Vic — Google review
I have loved this place since I was a kid. The ice cream is so good that our family arranged our holiday (traveled from Thailand) to enjoy an ice cream. The kids loved the animals and the tractor town.
Robert Kief — Google review
Stopped there because of a recommendation of a friend. Didn’t NOT like the ice cream!! Icy , too sweet, not creamy , the flavours did not impress. Oh ! If you want a plastic spoon it’s 25 cents extra 🤯
But liked their cream and milk we got .
Veronika K — Google review
Super busy but worth the wait!
We stopped by for some ice cream and we waited in line for about 5-10 minutes. They have a small truck outside that serves ice cream as well but by the time we realized it, we were already at the front of the line inside. The ice cream was delicious and my only complaint for the Peaches and Cream flavour was that it needed more chunks of peaches. Otherwise, the ice cream was great and the staff were working as fast as possible but maintained great service.
It was great stop and nearby was the fruit market across the street. We’ll definitely return in the future.
Jasmine Fung — Google review
A short lineup on a hot day and we were in. Big selection of ice creams and a cool dairy farm feel to the shop. Service was friendly and the temptation to try a triple cone was strong as I may not pass this way again soon. Tried the chocolate chili, peaches and cream and strawberry shortcake on top. The tastes were good, but lacked the intensity and creaminess in the fruit, and lacked the chocolate taste in the chocolate chili - but the chili really packed a punch, overpowering the chocolate. Three stars for the icecream and an extra star for the shop and staff.
William Szepesi — Google review
Not worth the hype in my opinion.
Grumpy ice cream lady, no tiny spoon samples,
kids ice cream almost same price as one scoop, extra for a cup. Kids liked the sandy play area, but it was so hot the smells were unpleasent, cars zoomed down the road its on almost hitting my kid.
Plus side. Open public bathroom.
Alida Ryan — Google review
The service was good and efficient but the ice cream was not our favourite. We also grabbed a pack of cheese curds and it was ok, again not our favourite. We are driving to Vancouver Island and back and getting ice cream everywhere we can, we will pass on this place next time. There are barns to walk around and look at the different beautiful birds that the kids will love to do.
Paige McLean — Google review
We came here around 10 am on a week day and we’re able to beat the crowds. By the time we left it was getting pretty crazy though. Despite a lot of reviews saying the ice cream wasn’t very good, the carmel cheesecake was delicious when I tried it and super creamy.
If you leave here without chocolate milk you’re a fool because it’s amazing.
The calves were super cute and really fun to walk around and check out the farm.
Sierra Taylor — Google review
great place to stop by it's located along highway. They have great selection of ice cream and i bought lots of milk to this dairy shop to give to my friends and relatives to calgary

Very busy place and I now know why. Great ice cream and atmosphere. Love that you can walk around see the cows, tractor play area and the grounds. Well worth stopping
Trish Bell — Google review
Ice cream is reliable, good, but not outstanding in any way. The double dutch chocolate flavour tastes great!
After so many years, it's about time they make it more accessible and easier to navigate, given that there's always heavy traffic and lines to get ice cream.
Otherwise, a great roadside ice cream place with friendly cows, a symbol of Sicamous.
Update: staff is great ❤

Family owned and operated by the DeWitt family since 1978 D Dutchmen Dairy is certainly a destination location! It’s Canada’s first 100% grass fed registered dairy farm, hailed as “BC’s Best Ice Cream” by the Vancouver Sun and it features only old fashioned hand made dairy products. It’s famous, quaint, nostalgic and most importantly all homemade- ice cream, specialty artisan cheeses, milk, plus they have great Dutch imports.
No matter time of year or weather we have to stop here! 🧀🥛🍦🐮 🇳🇱

Restaurant Name: Dutchmen Dairy
Adress: 1321 Maier Rd, Sicamous, BC V0E 2V1
The Dutchmen Dairy produces 62 different flavors of our artisan ice cream on location at D Dutchmen Dairy. Here, 40 of the Flavours are available in 1Litres, 2Litres, and 4Litres tubs.
I had their Turtle Cheesecake of one scoop, and it cost me around 5.25 CAD. They also sell two scoops and three scoops, but to me, it was tough to finish one scoop, and I suggest ordering a single one as the quantity of one scoop is huge. The base of the Turtle cheesecake ice cream is often a thick, rich ice cream that tastes similar to cheesecake. Most of the time, cream, sugar, cream cheese, and sometimes vanilla flavoring are used to make this ice cream base.
Ashik Udoy — Google review
Awesome little store with excellent dairy products and Dutch snacks. The chocolate milk in the glass jugs is outstanding
GXM — Google review
The ice cream was okay, it wasn't bad, but nothing special. Definitely not worth the detour we took just to visit the shop. The service was very poor, the women who served the ice cream were extremely grumpy and rude, it seemed like they wanted to be literally any place else than their ice cream shop, and they felt the need to make that clear to all the customers. In that sense, I guess it made it more of an authentic Dutch experience ;), It was possible to visit the cows, but I wish i didn't. There were way too many cows standing inside a barn that was way too small. The calves were seprated and locked up in cages so small they could barely turn around.
Dan — Google review
Loved the quality of the ice cream, and the house made cone 👌 went in a not so busy time, so there was no lineup.
Ash — Google review
nice spot to give a quick visit to see the farm animals. It was cool to see cows up-close; including the cattle! There's also a variety of chickens to look at.
Also there's a cute little tractor playground that kids can go to and explore. We didn't actually go inside to buy ice cream but it looked really busy when we came to visit during the summer.
Nicollo Abe — Google review
Got three delicious ice creams. what a large amount of ice cream for that price, really great. and yes, as a Dutch person you should visit a company with a Dutch owner
Very hospitable that you can also look around the farm freely

We had an AMAZING experience tenting here with our two children (ages 9 months and 2 years old). Beautiful beach in the day use area that drops quickly, so you are going to want life jackets for non-swimmers! A bit chilly, as it is a glacier-fed lake, but great on a hot day. We were here the first week of September and it was lovely.
Large camp sites - big enough for 2 tents or an RV. Picnic table at each site. There is a boat launch and a large stretch of beach that you can also launch from if you don't have a boat trailer.
No cell service, internet, power etc. which is great if you are trying to get away from city life. There is a place to charge medical equipment if necessary - check with the staff.
Wonderful experience. My two-year-old has been asking to go back everyday since we have been home. Bugs weren't bad the first week of September either.
Stephanie Kendel — Google review
Beautiful gem in BC's interior. Cold water but very refreshing. Park has to be one of the best maintained BC Parks we have ever been to. No cell service so plan ahead.
Nic Schmietenknop — Google review
Very good roads in to the provincial campground and Cottonwood Beach from lumby side. Beautiful beaches, very busy in summer, slightly cooler swimming with the still ice cold creeks, great fishing I hear!
The Spiike — Google review
The Okanogan is full of busy beaches, this is worth the extra drive just North of Lumby. Very peaceful and slow. Tins of sand and warm water. Part of the beach gets deep quick... if you snorkel there you will see hundreds of large fish just 15ft from shore. One of the best beaches.
Daniel Clarke — Google review
Excellent park. Beautiful clean. Very friendly helpful staff.
But it sucks when your neighbor campsite is up at 6:30am on Saturday morning splitting wood! Quite time is 11pm-7am 🤗
Ashley Taylor — Google review
Nice campground with close proximity beaches well kept and quite after 9
Ian Shibley — Google review
Really loved camping and exploring in Manel Lake Provincial Park. Beautiful even in September with a pristine lake and campground on the beach. Would recommend for those looking for a place to go tenting or with an RV.
Graham Wright — Google review
Beautiful, clean campground with washrooms in every loop. Sandy beach. Also has a Cute floating general store close to the boat launch- it's a little ways to hike though and a little hidden. Be sure to follow the signs for directions.
Angelina Friesen — Google review
Beautiful outdoors. Trees and grass areas with 2 large beach areas to large lake for swimming. Areas experience. Small store with necessary items. Rent a canoe etc.
Larry F — Google review
Had a great time camping here at the main campground. The basics - our site was big enough for multiple tents and 2 cars. There are a few pairs of flush toilets in the campground, kept in reasonable condition. The tap water seemed drinkable. There is a marina boat launch near the overflow camping and day use and general store with ice and a few essentials.
The lake - there are multiple beaches and grassy areas. The sand is medium fine, with a few rocks. The water is fairly clean and cold. The scenery is beautiful, it's a massive lake surrounded by mountains. There are logging 4x4 trails all over the mountain, a short hike to Cascade waterfalls, and the Mystic Trail to explore.
Kevin Wubs — Google review
My family and I had a lovely weekend camping here! Very family friendly ☺️ we will be back again!
Amelia Nash — Google review
A wonderful campground. If I’m not mistaken the campground manager name was Jeff and he was absolutely wonderful. He was so knowledgeable and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The campground is right by the lake and the lake is very calm and a perfect place for stand up paddling. The campgrounds are a perfect size. There is a day use beach and a playground for families with kids. They have wood for fire and washroom have water for washing your hands. One of the best campground I’ve been to in British Colombia.
Thanks again to the wonderful park manager that made our stay more special.

We really enjoyed every one of the wines we tried, and they were also quite reasonably priced! The highly knowledgeable staff was super friendly and more than willing to spend lots of time with us to share their knowledge and enthusiasm. What I wish wine tasting was like everywhere!

What a beautiful experience we had at Larch Hills. The people are so nice and very knowing about their wines and all the stories behind. We fell in love the first time we came. So we went back for a second wine tasting….still awesome 🤩
They even shipped me a box of 12 bottles to Qc…
So we will see you again next year when we come back to BC.
Keep up the good work

Beautiful winery! The host was extremely nice and the wine tasting was great. Reasonable prices and delicious wines. Also, great views! We will be definitely coming back in the summer.

What a fantastic local gem. I have lived in the area for many years and finally visited. The wine is good with a great price and no tasting fee which is almost unheard of. The host was so friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely return and add it to the list of places to take visitors from out of town.

Awesome tasting experience. Destiny was welcoming and knowledgeable. Tried a few wines I wouldn’t have thought to and brought a few more home. Nice spot for a picnic and complimentary glass of wine for my birthday.

Absolutely beautiful location, the landscape is very picturesque. Nice outdoor seating areas to enjoy a glass of wine. The staff was very friendly, and the winery dog was super friendly :) They have an extensive list of wines and bottles for sale at very reasonable price points.

Larch Hills is a gorgeous winery located right on a huge hill overlooking the mountains of BC. You can tell that every grape is picked with care and each bottle of wine is made with love. The quality is there! The staff were also incredibly accommodating and friendly, and I appreciated the tastings as well. Larch Hills Winery is such a hidden gem if you’re from out of province on a road trip. Stop by, you won’t regret it!
PS: I strongly recommend their Petit Verdot and their Tamarack Rosé. ♥️🍷 Thanks again Wayne and co.!

Great wine tasting experience with a very knowledgeable host and very nice wines.

Set on a hilltop providing beautiful views over the valleys below, Larch Hill winery is the oldest one in the Shuswap region and offers rare and unusual varietals like Madeleine Angevine, Siegerrebe, Marechal Foch or Lemberger, to name a few. The crew is knowledgeable and very friendly, the setting very relaxing, and the wines enjoyable as well as very reasonably priced. What’s not to like? We loved it.
Pat C (YTT) — Google review
A beautiful winery set up in the hills. Gorgeous views. Lovely little seating area with the winery dog! Great wines at very reasonable prices. Very friendly staff.
Jennifer Norgaard — Google review
Such a great visit! We’re from the Okanagan area so we aren’t shy when it comes to good wine. This experience was one of our favourite’s to date! Complimentary tasting fee? That’s unheard of in the okanagan! I wanted to buy a bottle of everything. So many great German varietals that we’ve never heard of. And the property is stunning. Plus, there’s a big handsome winery dog. 10/10 recommend.
Bree DeAdder — Google review
The tasting was complimentary, all wines were available for tasting unlike most of the wineries we've visited. We made this our first and last winery on our week of touring the Okanagan, by far the best white wine. Very reasonably priced, between $13-$16 a bottle! The property was beautiful, and the dog Rhino is a sweetheart!
Very interesting place to visit with the whole family. The kids would love it as well as adults. The goat coming to take food is such a cute and interesting thing to watch. 25 cent coins are required to buy food for the goat...keep at least 5-6 25 cent coins because with one coin the food quantity will be very less. All will love this experience. The log barn market is huge with lot of organic stuff. It's worth a visit. We didn't know of this place and stopped by chance on our way and were so pleasantly surprised to visit it.
Shilpa — Google review
You must stop here if you are young or old. The goat bridge alone is worth the stop, watching the goat work the pulleys to pull up his food is awesome. There are tons of photo ops and the kids will be in heaven. They also have a great little store with gifts, food, and everything a traveler or souvenir shopper is looking for. We had so much fun here and got all kinds of great pictures.
Mike Davis — Google review
Staff is aloof but the place is great you can make it amazing for yourself. I would give it a five star if my interactions with staff was better I feel like if your white its better as my experience has not changed in the 5 plus years... but my white husband has a better experience with staff...I sure hope that isn't the case. They just seem like they want to hide in the corner and not speak to people. One year there was a nice man with the sausage and sauces tasting. The girl at the till was friendly this time but last year nope. The lady at the ice cream hated life. Atleast my kid begs to stop here so for now food and ambience and and decor and animals is going for you. You just have to get your staff to love their jobs and have fun.
F G — Google review
This place is gorgeous! My kids, ages 8 and 6, couldn't get enough of this place. There's a little fruit market, ice cream parlour, hay maze, plenty to explore and you can feed the goats!
My children loved every minute and even begged us to go again tomorrow. I love that I can bring our puppy, explore outside and build memories.
Alex W — Google review
Well this was a unique little pit stop. Funny place to stop by with kids or adults for photo ops with a variety of giant animals, dragons and dinosaurs mixed with live goats. You can grab some ice cream, snacks or quirky gifts or sauces. Mennonite hot dogs too…
Leanne Young — Google review
Neat place with an interesting assortment of dinosaurs, dragons and animals. The store has a bunch of souvenirs and some food items, the food truck in front looks really tasty too. Worth a stop on your way through.
Jack Pajak — Google review
We have visited here often over the years with the kids and still as adults
Loved it in the past
However now it seems a bit run down and tacky to be honest.
I don’t know maybe because near season end but needs a paint stain job and the gift area is tiny now compared to previous visits and the pop and ice cream we bought was old and not good.
Toilets were nasty too.
They really need to loose the tacky dragons everywhere and go back to the animal theme perhaps but I guess very young kids love it that way.
No fall decor not a single pumpkin in sight
Great scenery and hopefully just a glitch because we usually love it
Brian Johnson — Google review
Cool little place to stop with kids and take a break. Property has lots of cool statues to take pictures with. There are a couple horses and some goats you can feed as well.
Store has some cool items and i really liked it. Very easy to spend some money here.

What a great place to stop! When I saw the dinosaurs and dragons, I just had to see what this place is. Feed the goats, pet the horses, lots of unique photo ops and great selection of local items in the shop. You will be glad you stopped!

You have to stop to see this! Kids will love it for sure. Nice shop inside too. Beautiful view at the back where you can sit ant relax for a bit. Kids can see cool animals and it’s all free!

First time visiting. What a fun place. Saw goats, llamas, bunnies and browsed the Log Barn shop. Bought a bird house and bead trail bead. So much variety of different foods available too. Friendly staff!
Clean bathrooms too.
So many antiques to check out outside and of course the large statues were great for photos.
Would definitely go again!
Emily Price — Google review
Super cool little shop. The goat bridge is hilarious and the antique feel.of the rest of the shop is great. Huge selection of treats from giant novelty lollipops to menanite sausages, soft serve ice cream, various syrups, fudge, and on and on. A must see if you're in the area.
Sean Power — Google review
Always a favorite stop on road trips. Great gift shop and produce/fruit/local market stop. Delicious fresh BC fruit at good prices.
Love the goats and being able to feed them. Shout out to the two alpacas in with the goats. And that adorable lone sheep who loves the snacks you can buy and feed them. There's an eleborate bridge/ramp jungle gym for the littler goats. You can use the corn bubble gum machine at the bottom and place it in a little cup, a goat uses its mouth on a wheel on the ramp above to activate a pulley and bring the corn treats to them. Super fun to watch.
Lots of fun statues and photo ops.

Great for kids, we fed the goats, horses and lamas I give it a 5 out of 5

SilverStar Mountain Resort is a picturesque destination for skiing and snowboarding, biking, and more. It boasts the 3rd largest ski area in British Columbia and has been voted the Best Ski Resort in the Okanagan for four consecutive years. With runs that cater to all abilities, from green novice to double black diamond, Silverstar is a mountain for everyone.
Super mountain for skiing and boarding. They have a gondola which is a God send on those cold windy days. They also have a 6 person high speed chair which is great when you’re with a large group. The fun doesn’t stop there… there’s a wicked tube park and a skating pond. They have a Zamboni to smooth the ice! World class! There’s an eatery in the village where you don’t need to be vaccinated to buy food. You can even sit down.

Amazing, colourful, family friendly hill with something for everyone! Green runs for beginners, double blacks on the backside, skating on a frozen pond with a island in the middle, tube town with a magic carpet - was just up for Christmas and New Years, what a magical experience with holiday activities in a winter wonderland! It snowed every day! Also loved the frequent shuttle for our little people with little legs.

I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the customer service policies here. While I understand that refunds due to weather conditions may not be possible, I encountered an entirely different issue that left me extremely disappointed.
After patiently waiting in line for a staggering two hours for the lift to re-open, my party and I were denied access to the lift simply because we were not racers. This information was only communicated to us when we reached the front of the line, leaving us frustrated and confused.
To further compound our disappointment, when we approached the desk to express our concerns, we were informed that this rule had been implemented a mere two minutes after we purchased our day passes. This lack of transparency and the failure to notify us in a timely manner is highly unprofessional.
Despite these circumstances, we were not offered any form of monetary reimbursement for the tickets we had purchased. This lack of compensation for our wasted time and inability to enjoy the park is deeply unsatisfactory.
I strongly urge you to reevaluate your customer service policies. Clear communication and fair treatment of customers should be a priority. It is essential that steps are taken to rectify this situation and ensure that other riders do not encounter similar disappointments in the future.

We camped. But camping is in the ski-hill parking lot. No trees etc.We did have electrical though which was nice. Perfect access to the site with shops restaurant s etc. Full shower access at the gym. And pit privies in the parking lot. We hiked the ski hills...awesome and of light to moderate difficulty.

It was a great day hiking out at silverstar. I loved the electric avenue trail, absolutely stunning foliage despite the views being hindered by smoke. My one criticism would be that the map showed a connection to the cross-mountain trail to get back to the village, but this connection was not clearly marked for hikers. I ended up accidentally taking the service road back down to the chair lift. Would've loved to keep trekking onto a new trail instead of backtracking!

Came here on Friday March 15 2024 when I had a day off work. It was just what I needed. Blue bird day, perfect weather and nice skiing. What I like about Silver Star is the resort has still been able to maintain that family atmosphere vibe. The village has character, and the views at the top of the hill are amazing. Decided to take a tour of the mountain, and Sean was the host for the group I was in. He was knowledgeable, personable, entertaining, and funny. If Silver Star had an employee of the month award, Sean would get my vote. It was an awesome day

A beautiful and sunny Valentine's Sunday. Not too crowded and the snow was pretty good considering no fresh powder for a while. Long John's was great food and service and tube town was a hoot. So many great activities.

One of Canada’s best all-around ski resorts. Features a wide variety of runs for the beginner, intermediate and advanced skier. In addition has access to excellent cross country and snow shoeing trails. On hill accommodation choices offer mostly ski in/ski out options. A grocery store(with beer, wine and liquor selection) bakery, full ski gear store, cross country ski gear store, and several clothing stores are complimented by a number of excellent restaurants.

This resort is the epitome of chill. Every staff in shops and restaurants were relaxed and friendly. We loved the small resort vibe. I wanted to live there.
We didn't stay overnight but hope to do so this winter for skiing. Will rate accommodations then.

We took skiing lessons and were paired with Hamish as our instructor! What an amazing guy. Hamish was patient and very soft spoken as well. Hamish kept helping us again and again because of which we didn’t feel like we were slowing down others in our group (even though we were). Hamish, you made our experience and training worth while. Thank you for the pleasant experience. :)

Such a great little resort in the high elevation. It’s cooler in summer for recreating and the winters are magic with great fun skiing, snowshoeing, fat biking and Nordic trails. The small village offers a quaint vibe to enjoy. It’s not crowded and the snow is like champagne powder.

Camped up here for the first time this year.
Despite the more "parking lot" style of camping. The camp ground was quiet and peaceful the grounds keepers were always near by to answer questions and of course prime location to get to the lifts.
Ss is always a great time but camping here really brought it up a notch in my books.

One of the best ski resort in BC. We visited here 2-3times a year. Today(Jan 14), only gondola and silver queen chair are open(no discount on lift tickets). In the same weather conditions, Sun Peaks and Big White are fully operating. It is such a waste of money and time. I was here in Dec 2021 with colder temperatures and the mountain was fully open.

The staff here at the rental shop are super knowledgeable and efficient. They want to ensure you get the best equipment suited to your level of skiing or snowboarding. This hill is a real gem and provides a great variety of snow experiences for all levels.

Special thanks to Lesley and Al our mountain guides! 😀❤⛷
Especially enjoyed catching some rays on "the beach"!🏖

Beautiful location. Skating and tube town is fun for a bit. The ice is really rough - watch out for the big cracks.
Don't bother with trying to buy tickets through their site: It is PAINFULL and wouldn't accept a gift card. After 15/20 minutes I just went in to the rentals building and got them in 1 minute

Our family has had the privilege of visiting SilverStar Mountain Resort on four separate occasions. Coming here has become cherished family tradition! From the very first moment we arrived, the warmth and brilliance of the staff creating an atmosphere that felt more like coming home than simply a vacation.
The brilliance of SilverStar extends far beyond its picturesque scenery and snowy powder slopes. From the servers who bring warmth to the restaurants to the lift attendants ensuring smooth transitions, and the ski instructors who turn every lesson into a memorable experience, the staff at SilverStar elevates the entire stay to a new level.
For anyone considering a visit, I wholeheartedly recommend making SilverStar your winter destination.

In April of 2022 I spent 12 days at the Freedom Flight School completing the P1 and P2 courses with my brother.
We had wanted to fly since we were kids, and we finally decided it was time to do it, so we traveled from Montreal and Toronto to Lumby to learn from the best instructors in Canada: Dave, Terry and Jason.
The experience of learning to fly was incredible. We always felt safe with our instructors supporting us on the radio, and we got to see so many beautiful things. My brother flew next to a bald eagle, and I got to see a black bear with her cub walking in the forest down below.
The ground school was also a lot of fun! Our instructors have a million stories to tell, and each one is more interesting than the last. Even waiting for the right conditions at Cooper's Launch was fun. We would look at hawks and how they adjust their wingspan to spot thermals and turbulent air, and also at the clouds. It's crazy how you start looking at nature in new ways when you learn how to fly.
I recommend camping at the Flight Park if you can. It's awesome to live and breathe paragliding while you are there, and they have everything you need: trailers and space for tents, a fully equipped kitchen (fridge, BBQ, kettle, plates, utensils, etc.), an outdoor shower and bathrooms.
My only regret is that I didn't learn how to fly sooner. I don't know why I waited so long to do something that I had always wanted to do. So stop hesitating. You already found the best school ever, so go and learn how to fly! You'll make lots of new friends along the way too :-)

This is the perfect place to start your paragliding journey whether you're looking to go on tandem flights or become a P2 pilot yourself. Dave and Terry are truly exceptional and dedicated instructors. I was also taken by the amazing community of pilots around the park that cheered me on and passed on their priceless wisdom in the sport. For me, it was well worth driving out from Calgary 3 separate times with my tent to complete my P1-P2, very grateful to Dave for making it work with my schedule. The school's main launch, Cooper's, is not only beginner friendly but also an outstanding starting point for XC flying beyond the course. Needless to say, I can't wait to go on my next flying adventure and will be coming back to Freedom Flight Park for years to come.

This place is what dreams are made of.
My brother and I did our P1 and P2 courses at the Freedom Flight School over the course of 12 days in April 2022. Dave, Terry and Jason taught us how to fly. They are incredible pilots and teachers. I didn't have a single dull moment here, even the ground school lessons were fun. I felt completely safe under their supervision.
Camping at the park is also an experience in itself. You are constantly bumping into new faces who are friendly and eager to share their passion for flying. The park also has great facilities: trailers you can rent (or you can just bring your own tent), a fully equipped kitchen in the lounge (BBQ with a burner, fridge, plates. cups, utensils), and an outdoor shower.
After a day packed with fun and learning my brother and I would cook food on the BBQ and go sit by a massive fire pit to hear stories (Dave is an amazing storyteller). On the right nights you can expect to see a sky overflowing with stars and so clear that you will be able to spot satellites with your naked eye. It's magic.
I can't recommend this experience enough. Learning to paraglide is insanely fun. I plan to come back to the park in the future to continue exploring all the flying the area has to offer (I have only scratched the surface!).
If you want to learn to paraglide, you can stop searching for schools now. Contact the Freedom Flight School. They are the best.

I recently spent 2 weeks down in Lumby at Freedom Flight School to obtain my P1 & P2 rating in May. It's hard to imagine a more down to earth, knowledgeable, inclusive and helpful group of people to learn from. From day 1 of getting in touch with the school I was offered the flexibility of working around my own personal schedule rather than having set intake dates which doesn't really work out with the sort of schedule I have with work.
Upon arrival at the flight park I was warmly welcomed by all the patrons who were there (no students at first!). It's a unique setup with a large area for camping and a fully equipped lounge+kitchen that students are guests were able to use. This setup allowed for a nice social environment getting to know locals and other members of the community in an easy way.
Both instructors Dave & Terry were fantastic. In both a technical and personable aspect they excelled at presenting the material they were teaching. Time spent waiting for better weather up on launch was rarely wasted, rather it was spent teaching things like observing birds to gauge thermal conditions, observing nearby weather systems and teaching how they may affect the upcoming flight or simply sharing some of the incredible stories these 2 have experienced throughout their flying career.
The wealth of knowledge shared between the two of them is enormous and is delivered in a matter that made it incredibly easy to pick up on the nuances of something that may not make sense in the beginning. It was clear that rather than just feed you the information required they truly cared about making sure it was understood why they were teaching certain things. In a safety conscious environment like freeflight this really made me feel much more comfortable in my training. The program was delivered in a well thought out matter and took steps to make sure that you were prepared for the next stepping stone along the way each time.
Having completed my P2 rating with the instruction from Dave & Terry I feel very comfortable being a solo pilot and making smart decisions whilst I do so. You can't go wrong learning from Freedom Flight School.

Highly recommended. Completed my P1 and P2 here. A great, progressive course that lets you gradually build up your skills. Dave and the rest of the staff were amazing. Can't say enough about them. The location provides great amenities. Just amazing!

If you’re looking for an exceptional paragliding school or experience, you’ve found what you’re looking for. Dave and Terry are phenomenal and generous instructors, the training terrain at the park is superb, and the atmosphere of the flight lounge is addictive and very supportive. After trying another paragliding school in BC, I was blown away by the level of quality training that Freedom Flight provides, and I’m so pleased with my decision to have completed my P1 and P2 training with them.
They made excellent suggestions for a setup, and I was thrilled to be able to buy everything I need for paragliding at the park. I would HIGHLY recommend their expertise when buying paragliding gear!!
Dave and Terry really care and pay attention to details for all of their students, and safety (alongside tons of fun) is their number one priority. Whether it’s a tandem flight, or learning how to fly, I’m certain you’ll be more than satisfied with your experience at Freedom Flight.

A friend and I learned to paraglide here recently (P1 + P2) and we have nothing but great things to say about Freedom Flight School and the instructors there! We booked 2 weeks of holiday and drove over from the west coast without knowing ANYTHING about paragliding or what we were getting into. We returned pilots, and hooked on flying!
Our instructors were primarily Dave and Terry, and both were excellent. Instructions were always calm, clear, and precise, demonstrating both of their extensive knowledge and expertise. There was an emphasis on understanding the material, rather than just memorization for the purposes of passing the written tests. This is especially important since paragliding can lead to serious injury, and safety was a constant point of discussion. Their goal is to educate you for a long and safe flying career, rather than just pumping out students as fast as possible.
Lessons were well structured and had excellent progressions to build upon skills, ensure you don't get overwhelmed, and have mastered concepts at one level before continuing to the next. We started with ground handling to learn about our paragliding equipment and how to perform a clean forwards launch. Next was the "training hill", which allowed for a few seconds of flight in relative safety, and further refinement of being able to feel the glider and understand how to control it. Then towing, proper flight(!), getting to heights of 600 feet above the large grass landing field. We were equipped with radios and the instructors maintained constant communications to guide us on judging approach and landings. Once that was mastered, we did our first mountain launches! These launches were the first of many in the following days, with additional skills being explained and then experienced under close 1-1 supervision over radio. As we gained experience, the instructors slowly reduced the amount of explicit guidance (unless necessary for safety), so we gained first-hand experience and got better at making our own judgement calls and landings. Nearing to the end, we also got a few lucky days with longer flights and our first experiences riding thermals up and above the mountain launch site!
Before arriving, We were concerned about fully finishing both the P1 and P2 lessons due to the risk of poor flying conditions relatively early in the season (late April). Although we did have some no-fly days, we took advantage of those by doing ground school and writing the mandatory written tests for HPAC certification. We saw a similar situation with the students before us, who had come from even further, and it was very nice to see Dave and Terry work hard on getting them fully finished their 25 high flights. Other reviewers have talked more about the pilot's lounge, so I won't go into more detail other than saying it's an awesome hangout area with everyone being super friendly and encouraging to the students. I learned all sorts of tips and tricks from many different people, giving me lots of additional perspectives and ways to learn.
After getting taught by Freedom Flight School, I feel well prepared for unsupervised flying, understand the risks and dangers, knowing where my limits are, and how to make weather and conditions judgement calls (of course with the caveat that there's still lots more to learn).
PS. If you're not looking to learn to fly quite yet, I'd highly recommend a tandem flight!! We saw a few of those happen while we were learning (joining us on the shuttle up to Coopers launch), and it looked like a great (and safe!) experience!!

Over the course of about 10 days split between the past two summers I worked through my P2 - Novice paragliding pilot qualification with Dave, Terry and the crew at the flight park. The vibe at the flight park is perfect for a summer vacation spent learning a really cool new skill. The facility is very comfortable and hospitable, and the folks around are extremely welcoming for a solo traveller.
The instructors are extremely patient, knowledgeable and safety focussed. Their patience allows people to progress at their own speed and show they're committed to ensuring everyone leaves a safe and competent pilot.
I 100% recommend a tandem flight, intro course or the full meal deal Paragliding/hang gliding student program. It's worth every penny, and you will not be disappointed!

A great school to learn to paraglide. Lessons are flexible, and adaptable around the student's schedule. All flying gear is provided. Great instructors, and a welcoming environment. During the summer, the school's flying site (Cooper's) is flyable nearly every day.
This is also a great place to book a tandem flight and get a taste of paragliding!

Freedom Flight School is the real deal! No fuss no muss, just an awesome experience all around! It was an exhilarating trip that I know my daughters and I will remember for a long time, or until we get to do it again! Our pilots, Dave and Terry made it all look and feel so simple, and safe!! Highly recommend!!!

This past summer I had the privilege of taking the P2 course with the amazing instructors at Freedom Flight School. Instructors Dave and Terry, and the facilities far exceeded my expectations. They were intentional and in depth with their instruction and always had a great story to tell. The equipment provided was modern and well taken care of. At Freedom Flight School they carry several different brands of paragliders and harnesses so I was able to try different ones and find the best wing for my size and skill level. The great thing about the school is that when you’re not flying you can hang out in the pilots lounge, have a bite to eat, take a nap, or connect with all the other pilots spending there summer in Lumby flying in the sky. The launch zone and landing zone are second to none and the views are hard to beat. Thanks again Dave and Terry and I can’t wait to go back soon!!

Since the first time I watched my friend run off the side of a mountain in Australia with a paraglider, I wanted to do it. It took about a decade for me to find the time, money, and courage to take up the sport finally. When I was ready, I researched and contacted many schools across Canada, and Freedom Flight School stood above the rest in terms of reviews, reputation, instructor experience, and cost. Dave Underwood quickly replied to my myriad of questions and was of great help in sorting out my accommodations--I had about a month to attain my P1 and P2 certificates and had my dog with me. The flight park has its own campground with a unique open lounge and hot shower. Dave and Terry were my instructors, and right off the bat, you can tell that they were exceptionally experienced and well-respected amongst all the pilots that hung around the park. They communicated clearly and were professional, patient, and understanding. More importantly, they built up my confidence in the sport, so I feel comfortable leaving the park to fly in new and unfamiliar sites. Dave also brought in another instructor, Jerry, from time to time, who went above and beyond with teaching me about air space regulations (HAGAR). I am extremely delighted that I chose Freedom Flight School to learn paragliding. I don't think there is another school with this amount of support. The flight park also hosted a great community of new and experienced pilots. Pilots across Canada (as well as the US and Europe) flocked to the park during the summer and everyone made sure that the newbies were encouraged, supported, and comfortable. Freedom Flight School has built an amazing community and I can't speak highly enough of it. I would recommend this school to anyone thinking of learning to paraglide. 10/10.

I have tried another school and chose to drive an extra 5 hours to learn here. The location and the instructors, Dave and Terry, make this an exceptional place to learn to fly. The whole community is welcoming and supportive. If you're considering taking up this amazing sport, this is the place to check it out.

I completed my P1 and P2 paraglide training with Freedom Flight School over approximately two weeks in June, and remained for another 2 weeks at the flight park into July to continue to fly and build my skills.
The instructors were all terrific. They not only knew their craft very well - as evidenced by our rapid yet comfortable progression in skill and exercises - but also had great demeanours and sense of humour that made the whole experience a pleasure.
The environment of the school and flight park was equally valuable. On a daily basis, the lounge, camp area, and launches would be frequented by students and returning pilots of every skill level... observing the morning's conditions and forecasts, crafting plans for the day, pooling together for trips to launches, sharing in the joys of flight, and discussing the day's events in the evening over dinner, games or a fire. This immersive environment that Freedom Flight School fosters and operates in, makes it not merely a provider of instruction, but a community and a destination that actively contributes to the development of pilots on an ongoing basis.
I can't imagine having gone anywhere else for my training, and I look forward to returning.

Can't say enough good things about Dave and the Freedom Flight School! Got my P1 and P2 here and what an ideal place to do it. Lumby provides a very safe environment to learn in terms of air stability and landing areas with opportunities to catch some awesome thermals as a learner. The Freedom Flight School is unique in that it's run out of the Freedom Flight Park which is essentially a flight hostel with a warm community of experienced pilots that will take you under their wing. There is camping and a lounge right adjacent to the landing zone. If you decide to camp on site which I would recommend, you'll enjoy the camaraderie of other learners, experienced pilots and Dave. Felt just as much like vacation as flight school, didn't expect to have near this much fun. The instruction was of top quality and I always felt safe. Dave was very in tune with my needs and goals as a learner. I feel well equipped to begin my career as a paraglider pilot!

The tour visit to a bee farm is an interesting place to learn. The speaker precisely explained what to know about the bees, the different kinds of bees and the role they play especially the Queen Bee to the colony including the complete process of creating honey.
The different kinds of honey produced depends on the kinds of flowers gathered by the bees. The speaker further discusses the products they are selling as by-products of the bee pollination. I was hopeful to see at least a bee colony but none.

Davison Orchards Country Village is a local farm and tourist attraction in Vernon offering orchard tours on a tractor-drawn train, apple picking, a kids' play zone, gift shop and cafe. The place is known for its excellent views of the surrounding area, but some consider it overpriced due to its local status. However, it supports the community and offers delicious treats like coffee screamers and strawberry vanilla ice cream.
Being here again after 6 years, still great place to be
So many homegrown and homemade stuff
I wish we had something similar at home
Huge playground with so many different things to do and play
Different animals to feed
What they can do well as well, making money out of everything, very thought through
The tractor ride is nice, but not really for kids until 10

If you visit the area you have to stop at the Orchards Country. It's not a tourist trap like I thought. We visited in October so there weren't too many people. The kids enjoyed the farm and the animals. The entrance is free and you can buy many local products. Of course I recommend the apple pie and the apple juice.

Note: You MUST take the tractor tour around the orchard, trust me, it will become one of those fluffy, happy place memories.

Visited here during the Labour day weekend and although it was busy, there was plenty of parking. This place is very kid-friendly as it had cute farm animals and a little playground, and even though I do not have children - I still had so much fun!
I stocked up on quality produce from the packing shed to bring back home with me such as zucchini, tomatoes, spaghetti squash, and peaches, which were all fairly priced. I also purchased some kettle corn and carrot cake which were not overly sweet like many places. My boyfriend & I ate lunch here - we got a grilled cheese sandwich and wrap, which was delicious. I loved that these items came with sides like pickles and salsa with chips! Additionally, I liked how there was a homemade ice cream shop on site but I was too full and didn’t get to try it unfortunately.
In my opinion, the gift shop was a bit overpriced - but then again, I haven’t been to a gift shop anywhere that was at a decent price point lol. I would definitely come here again if I am ever back in Vernon.

Davison Orchard offers excellent views of Vernon. Some may say everything is overpriced here, but that's because it is a local farm and tourist attraction. Support local, man. we had a coffee screamer and strawberry vanilla ice cream come. Both were delicious.
Kids seem to love it here with the goats, multiple playgrounds, oversized chairs, and the fake jail cell.
People love buying corn here and pies.
They also have their own pumpkin patch in fall.

It’s a great place! They have the best u-pick apples. We have visited it many times. Animals, playground, apple pie, apple slush, and ice cream are always great over there! You can visit it in different months. And, they have u-pick pumpkins. And, do not forget to try their apple juice. 2023 update: I stopped here for an apple slush on my way back. So nice to have it while the weather is hot. The apple juice is great.

We really love this place! The premises are always very clean and well taken care of. The produce here is fresh and yummy, and their apple juice is certainly one of a kind.
I am deducting a star because of two things:
1. The treats you get out of their little machines for 25 cents has reduced in almost half! Just a year ago, you got a hand full of treats that you could feed to their goats, sheep, pigs and so on. Now, you get only a few out, it barely fills my toddler's hand!
2. No more train passes. They used to sell passes for their tractor trains that were affordable and LOTS of fun. We used to come here at least once a week to get a train ride, buy produce and hang out on their playgrounds. It's gotten very expensive to ride their tractor trains and they offer no more passes which usually locals would be to come back more often so I think it's a move that takes away from locals, who probably are the biggest source of income for them.
Other than everything being very expensive here (an ice cream scoop for $7!!!) they do have lots of free attractions for kids and my son loves going here, and loves their apple juice. We'll be back this summer for sure, and we're very grateful they offer such a cute farm experience to their community!
Their playgrounds are so much fun, and they even have toys in their sandboxes for kids to play with.
From the time they open until the day they close, we visit at least twice a month.
I hope they will offer train passes again.

We really enjoyed our visit here. Very family friendly and so many fun things to do for kids. The orchard has plenty of offerings with food and treats. The tractor ride orchard tour is a must. Our guide was quite entertaining, and educated us a lot about farming fruit trees. We even saw the owners riding tractors in the farm. They have a petting area and a barn themed playground which were immensely enjoyed by kids. A must visit in Vernon.

Friendly and Knowledgeable Staff: The staff at Davison Orchards are so welcoming and eager to share their knowledge. We learned a lot about fruit farming during our visit,
"Davison Orchards is a delightful escape from the city buzz. The orchards are beautiful, the farm animals are a hit with kids, and the bakery...oh, the bakery! The apple pie is a must-try!"
Gray Monk Winery is a winery located in Lake Country, just outside of Kelowna. The winery specializes in producing Pinot Gris, and they offer tastings as well as an elegant restaurant.
Excellent restaurant overlooking Lake Okanagan. The dining staff are awesome, the food was top notch. Great place to take some photos. Their Brut sparkling wine is incredible.

This was our second of seven stops on our wine tour.
We sampled four or five wines for just over eight dollars. Very neat and clean setup in there.
Tony was perfect with the pacing of the tastings. The sample sizes of the wines met expectations. He had great explanations for each of the wines too.
I highly recommend this place too!

Just returned from a beautiful & educational wine tasting afternoon. Janet was extremely knowledgeable and super friendly, making our experience that much more memorable & enjoyable. We especially liked the 2019 Pinot Gris. Your facility is very welcoming and lovely. Thank you Janet for a super afternoon!

Amazing place with a nice view. Scallop risotto was absolutely delicious! The best risotto i have ever had so far. The Grilled Wagyu Flat Iron was tender but lacking seasoning. The IPA ( Don't lose your dinosaur) was really crispy and hoppy.

It has been sometime since we went to the gray monk and I really don't know why to be honest.. The grounds and patio are outstanding..the food was good the service was excellent one negative was it was warm...and who ever designed the blinds needs to visit the patio and have a dinner to understand what I am talking about the poor staff were fighting the movement of the sun all evening trying to keep quests happy people close wanted it lowered people far wanted it raised.. I think I understand the thought process in trying to keep the views exposed..but it doesn't work...you need full sunscreens not partial cut out or what ever they are...your staff would be less stressed and your guests would be less hot...a few fans over head would also help move some air...you have a great place but this part of it was unenjoyable..

Elizabeth was amazing as she served on me and my husband for Sunday lunch, celebrating us as newlyweds. We had the best corner seat of the patio overlooking the entire winery and lake view. We came to experience the priceless view with excellent cuisine and The Lookout Restaurant at Gray Monk Winery did not disappoint.
*including pictures of the view, appetizer (Burrata & prosciutto), and featured dessert. Entrée ordered (not in pics): tuna tataki bowl, grilled wagyu flat iron.

Decided on an impromptu stop at Gray Monk on our way to Sparkling Hill to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we couldn't have been more pleased with our experience! Not only were Bruce & Tony wonderful hosts, Tony provided an amazing tasting (and brought us some sparkling wine as a bonus to celebrate!) and offered interesting tidbits about the winery and property. The wine was excellent but the service was even better! When you go for a wine tasting, ask for Tony, you're going to get the best of the best!
Also, if the couple who purchased our wine tasting for us sees this: THANK YOU! A beautiful and kind gesture to add to the incredible day. You will see us again soon, Gray Monk!

We’re enjoying a lovely 2022 Pinot Auxerrois with a light afternoon charcuterie here in cottage country in Ontario. Thanks to our BC friends for fulfilling our order for fabulous BC wines. The Auxerrois is light on the tongue but with depth of flavour and a wonderful finish.

While the gentleman overseeing the wine tasting exhibited a somewhat reserved demeanor and lacked the expected enthusiasm, a gracious lady on the staff took the reins, passionately delving into intricate details about the various wines on offer. Her warm and informative approach not only made the experience memorable but also led to my decision to purchase their distinctive white port, concluding the visit on a positive note.

Our favorite Winery from the wine tour. Tony was amazing with our taste session, providing us with detailed information about each wine and made us feel very comfortable throughout our whole experience. Each wine from the merlot to the pinot gris was perfect. So good, that we went back for another wine tasting the next day. If you like a slight sweet white wine, you gotta try the 2021 Reflection.

Day 3 after a reopen, much work needed. Very small menu. We had the Rigatoni and the Chicken breast. Rigatoni was kinda bland, but the chicken was very good.
The tables were so close together that servers had a hard time getting around despite having a large open area that apparently was closed because of a licensing issue... when the tight area filled up they started putting people in the wide open area...
We will give it ONE more try in a couple weeks..

I joined my sister and her friend for their Sparkle & Savour event on Tuesday, May 9th. We had a great time. We enjoyed several different wines, some paired with food, which was great. Marilyn "Merlot" was awesome and very knowledgeable about what we were tasting and provided us with some great tips on food pairings.
Prior to our experience, we tasted a couple of wines with Reese. I had not been to Gray Monk Estate for many years, so Reese provided a great background and history of the Winery for all of us to enjoy.
Thank you for providing us with a wonderful experience!

My favourite tasting of the weekend. My husband and I only visited 4 wineries over the weekend but Grey Monk was definitely the best.
Grey Monk did not accept reservations they only accept walk ins for tastings. We were fortunate to not have to wait and walk right in on a Saturday afternoon.
Large tasting room with plexiglass partitions to protect workers and customers. Marilyn was super friendly and informative. We tasted many wines and ended up buying a dozen bottles.
Don't miss this winery on your tour!
We will definitely return.

Great view, as always! (minus the smoke - not their fault, I promise). Excellent service, delicious wines. Will be back next year again!
2022 update: the service and the wines are still as good as they can be :) No smoke this time around, so a must-visit winery on your Okanagan tour.
Ex Nihilo Vineyards is a small, family-owned and operated winery located in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia. They specialize in producing high quality red and white wine, with an emphasis on pinot noir, merlot, and malbec. The winery offers tastings both by the glass and by the bottle, as well as a range of food options that can be enjoyed while enjoying a glass or two of their wines.
Wow! My partner and I went for local wine tastings on the weekend. Ex Nihilo Vineyards provided excellent service in a wonderful atmosphere with a sit-down tasting. By far our favourite of the wineries we visited that day! Love that it’s locally owned, with a lot of passion put into every aspect of the winery. Piper, the winery dog, was a sweetheart and so fun to visit with! We will definitely be back when the bistro opens for the season! Thank you!

Though we enjoyed our visit to Ex Nihilo Vinyard and the charming sommelier, we were disappointed the $5 tasting fee is added to your wine purchases even when multiple bottles purchased. Beautiful views of Lake and Vinyard.

Ex Nihilo was one of our stops during our wine tour and we had a good experience. The venue is beautifully maintained and the wines were good. We were happy to try their reds as Lake Country is more known for whites. I am not sure if they were just short staffed or if it’s common practice but our wine guide was shared with another group that was there and it just didn’t flow. Will be back.

Always 5 stars for Ex Nihilo! Their red wines are so delicious. I take all of my out of town guests here. They also do room rentals for small parties. You usually have to sign up as a wine member to do this, but it's totally worth it. Thank-you Ex Nihilo for somehow standing out in a market filled with wineries.

Beautiful property and we heard the pizza was really good. Hoping this was a one-off experience (due to the restaurant tending to a large corporate party) but: we felt ignored and unwanted from the beginning. The host repeatedly over explained it was going to take longer than expected before seating us (we said multiple times we would be fine sitting and enjoying some wine while we waited for our food) to our server unfortunately providing the bare minimum of service. It was a lackluster experience to say the least.
The pizza didn’t take as long as we thought, and had great flavor but would have been better if it wasn’t burnt. (Server was kind enough to take it off the menu). There was however a very delicious cheesecake.

Beautiful building and grounds, and friendly staff, but not the best wine in the area. After visiting a few others nearby, the wines here didn’t stand out and had less taste. They’re good, but it’s hard to stand out with some many excellent wineries close by.

An excellent experience! The wine tasting was provided in a seated, relaxed atmosphere on the gorgeous patio. Super friendly staff! Only thing to note is that the cost of the tastings is not refunded if you buy a bottle of wine, whereas many other wineries do refund the tasting fee.

Nice location, friendly staff, good service. We enjoyed the wines we tried. Specifically the pinot noir and the sparkling. Happy hour made the price appealing as well. We sampled a salad, pizza, and main (short rib). All were well prepared and delicious.
Comfortably casual attire was the norm. I would definitely go again.
This winery located in Lake Country, just minutes away from the business district, offers visitors a wide selection of wines to taste. All their wine are hand-crafted and made with care, which is why their wines are some of the best in West Kelowna.
Beautiful grounds and views with delicious and unique wines available. I recommend a tasting to find a bottle you like and then grabbing some cheeses, crackers, and spreads and having a bottle out on the patio with an amazing view of the lake. The Zweigelt was our favorite wine, but everything we tried was spectacular!

Went for an early season, winetasting at arrowleaf recently. It’s an interesting perspective, seeing the winery, and Vineyard very early in the season, complete with snow up on the hills in the background.
We had purchased some Vidal late harvest a few years ago, and during our tasting, the gentleman pouring the wine divulged that this winery may not attempt ice wine in the future, as the climate doesn’t seem to be cooperating where they are located.
Note: the Vidal late season was an attempt at ice wine, but the temperature did not maintain -8°C or cooler while the grapes were being picked.
This is definitely one of the wineries you want to visit if you’re visiting the Okanagan Valley.
Edit: April 2024
Note: $6 per tasting (not waived with purchase of wine)
A few clouds in the skies when we decided to stop in at ArrowLeaf for a tasting today. They definitely have friendly staff. We had a very enjoyable tasting. This place gets better by the season.
We tasted:
Wild bloom (very floral)
Pinot Gris
Bacchus
Pinot Noir (dark, rich)
Pinot Noir reserve
Overall, friendly staff, fantastic view, and really good wine. We will return.

Exploring the wineries around Lake Country. This place is busy!! People lining up for the cream puffs at the bakery and the tasting room right after it opens.
It has a nice picnic area to bring the kids and enjoy the lake view. The cream puffs are delicious and pair quite well with the white wines. There is also a nice patio for you to enjoy the wine, cream puffs, and view. Decide to order three different flights of white wine vs the tasting. Able to sit down to slowly enjoy the wine while taking in scenery.
Would add them to my must go to winery when visiting the Okanagan.

I grew up in the Okanagan and Arrowleaf is my favourite winery to take friends and tourists for their first time doing wine tastings here. Often, it will be where we end the day because the view and the balcony is just beautiful. Their wines are the best out of the three we did today and the service is very accommodating and informative. I love how they allow you to bring your own food and sit in the park area and they also have food available as well to purchase. Absolutely lovely!

Arrowleaf was our fourth of seven stops on our wine tours.
This winery was perhaps our favourite. Following our tastings, we were informed we could purchase the four remaining cappuccino cream puffs.
We unanimously agreed this was the BEST pastry ever. They could just sell cream puffs and get along just fine.
We had a delicious Riesling sample.
Two organized tour groups were late, and therefore the staff squeezed us in.

The service was great, the wine is a bit young and not as developed as others in the area.
For how quiet it was, would have been also nice to have had the tasting on the gorgeous patio vs just up at the bar.
Overall still a great experience

Willkommen in der Schweiz! Hailing from Switzerland, the Zuppiger family (Joe, Margrit and 5 children) leave behind their organic orchard snd dairy farm for the wonderful possibilities in Canada. Resuming dairy farming in Alberta for 10 years, the beautiful Lake Country life reminiscent of East Switzerland quickly lured them to the new home away from home.
Purchasing Suncrest Vineyard and the Carter Farm, the Zuppiger farm officially opened their doors in 2003 becoming the second winery in the area. Eldest son Manuel took up the family honour of a 3 year apprenticeship program in winemaking in Switzerland, then honing his skills in the Barossa Valley, Hillside Winery and finally Tin Horn Creek.
Previously producing stunning grapes to Gray Monk, Arrowleaf Cellars has become an award winning winery and an Okanagan “MUST VISIT”! From its namesake Arrowleaf Balsamroot or the Okanagan Sun Flower, a symbol to the dedication of producing only terroir driven wines… you WILL be transported to the idyllic Swiss countryside. 🏆🍷🥂🍇🇨🇭

What a lovely stop in Lake Country. We did not make a reservation on a weekend, but was able to do a tasting ($5! Unheard of in the OK now). You get to try several of their staples and then buy a bottle or glass to enjoy on their patio. Lots of space with a beautiful view of the lake. Pro tip: bring your own picnic as even the glasses will provided by the tasting room! We saw a group had full on lunch basket with cutleries whipped out with a lovely bottle. The fav of the lot was the Pinot Gris - best in the area imo with more depth and complexity than just your usual gris. Will be back!

Came here with a large group for wine tasting. Service was efficient, especially given how busy it was. Staff were friendly and attentive, and they had a good selection of wine to choose from, other miscellaneous items (cards, cookbooks, puzzles), and some food that you can eat on the outdoor patio or picnic tables, along with purchased wine (cheese box, charcuterie box, sweets). Amazing view of okanagan lake!
This family-friendly farm has kangaroos, goats, and other animals that you can interact with. The space is really cool and the animals are so friendly. It's a great place to go for a fun day out with friends or family.
I loved my experience here! I love animals and being able to pet, carry and see the animals was everything. It's a kangaroo farm but there are many more animals here. All were very friendly when approached properly :) When/if they open again it is a must go!

Kangaroo Creek Farm is a fantastic experience for all ages. Not only do you get to interact with the kangaroos, there is many other varieties of birds and animals to see and learn about as well. The new location is so well laid out. There is a food stand in the middle and a fire truck for kids to play on and picnic tables to take a rest. The grounds are divided into 3 areas, which really helps disperse the visitors making it a pleasant experience for all. The caretakers are wonderful at watching the visitors and ensuring the safety of the animals. The animals all appear to be relaxed and healthy. I cannot recommend Kangaroo Creek Farm enough to both locals and tourists alike. But do remember, it is about the safety and wellbeing of the animals first and foremost. So please do follow the rules and understand that the animals need a break sometime too. It can be disappointing if you don't get to hold a sugar glider or have one of the birds on your shoulder, but these care takers know the animals and know when they need a rest. Please do not take your disappointment out on the staff if you are unable to do something. They are doing what is best for the animals. Be kind to all; animals, birds, reptiles and humans alike. ❤️

We always love our trip to the Kangaroo Creek Farm. It was our third visit - first visit to the new location. This location is great - lots of shady trees, lots to see, plenty of amenities, and real washrooms. Get there at opening time - not all the creatures were napping and they were all friendly. Staff was great, all of them. Very knowledgeable, happy to chat about the farm and animals. I think i enjoy our visits to Kangaroo Creek Farm as much as my kids!

We loved the Kangaroo Creek Farm and would definitely recommend. The gravel/paths/grass can be a little challenging in some areas for wheelchair users but with some help and a couple of pushes you can make it work. There is also no charge for wheelchair users and disabled parking out front. Honestly one of the highlights was the little food truck - the poutine was a generous portion and very flavourful! The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable here, taking the time to engage with customers. We'll be back!

This is a great place for a family day trip. The kangaroos are super friendly and eat the popcorn right out of your hand. There's also a goat area where they just kid around, they're always trying to escape! The other section of the farm has birds, reptiles and a porcupine, and some more animals. Food trucks, ice cream and good washrooms means you can stay there for a few hours of fun.

Great place to see all these beautiful animals and birds. Lots of parking spots, might get busy during holidays and weekends. The kids would love it. The tickets for adults are 20$ each. There are many kangaroos, wallabee, peacock, emu, ostrich, reptiles, birds, fish and many more. My visit to Kangaroo Creek Farm was an absolute delight, and I can't praise it enough! This farm offers a well-organized and heartwarming experience that caters to both kids and adults, making it the perfect family adventure.
One of the standout features of Kangaroo Creek Farm is the level of care they provide to their animals. From the kangaroos and pigs to the goats, porcupines, parrots, and sugar gliders, it's clear that each animal is well looked after and loved. All the animals were incredibly tame, which allowed visitors like me to get up close and personal with them.
The staff were not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable, ready and willing to answer any questions. I must give a special shoutout to Alex, who works in the parrot section. Alex's kindness and enthusiasm were evident, and I learned so much during my visit.
And if you're feeling particularly adventurous, there's even an opportunity to hold a snake, which was a unique and thrilling experience for me 🐍

A very family-friendly attraction featuring wallabies, kangaroos, emus, chickens, sugar gliders, capybara, and much more. The staff are very helpful and the opportunity to feed some of the animals is quite fun for everyone. Ample parking and admission is not very expensive at $16 per adult and $8 for children over 4 (younger than 4 are free). Worth a visit but dress accordingly on scorching days.

If you are looking for something outdoors but not necessarily athletic that everyone can enjoy in the Okanagan, the relocated and expanded Kangaroo farm is a wonderful multi-generational fun place to visit.
There is plenty of parking available and once you are through the gates, there are several sub-areas divided off with different animals ready to meet you. At the entrance to each of the sections there is an employe who can tell you about the animals there and offer advice on how to feed them, and even give you bits of their food.
For very small children there are playground equipment pieces here and there to play on. There are picnic tables and benches to sit on (outside the animal areas). It is beautifully landscaped with many places for shade and a lot of flowers and interesting farm and other artifacts around for pictures.
The animal handlers all seem knowledgeable and interested in what they add doing, and enthusiastic about helping the visitors to connect with the animals in a safe way.
There are many more animals than kangaroos to see here. Plan to spend a few hours if anyone in the family is an animal lover! We went on a cool and somewhat drizzly day and the animals were all very active. Don’t let the weather hold you back!

This place was absolutely amazing! To get to pet a porcupine and other animals I never would have been able to anywhere else was simply amazing! And let me just add, the fact that the staff who were doing repairs and other things would come up randomly and give details on the animals you were standing near at the moment, was amazing to me. Just out of nowhere they would appear and tell you the animals given name, their ages, and the history of that animal, then next thing you know, they were gone and off doing whatever it was they were in the process of doing. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. That's the part that made things even more amazing to me.

The Animals are adorable and the staff are really friendly. When I went, I thought there was going to be 5 max, but I was surprised to see over 40 kangaroos in the park. The Capybaras are nice and friendly. The Sugar Glider Claws are surprisingly sharp and painful. But they were so damn cute. The lady at the front was one of the nicest people and the staff were knowledgeable and funny. It’s truly a 10/10 experience.

Well worth the admission. Great for all ages. Only Disclaimer: 1). the lady at the gate was quite prickly, almost to the point of being completely unwelcoming. Recently visited Kangaroo Creek Farm in Kelowna, and it was an absolutely amazing experience.
The highlight of my visit was, of course, the kangaroos! It was incredible to be able to get up close and interact with them. The staff was very knowledgeable and took the time to educate us about the kangaroos and their behaviors, making the experience not only fun but also educational.
In addition to the kangaroos, the farm is home to a variety of other animals, including peacocks, goats, and more.
The farm's setting itself is picturesque, with beautiful views of the surrounding. The only issue was the loud noise from the Airplane and helicopters from the nearby airport.
Overall, Kangaroo Creek Farm exceeded my expectations in every way. The friendly staff, the opportunity to interact with kangaroos and other animals all contributed to a memorable and enjoyable visit. I would highly recommend Kangaroo Creek Farm to anyone visiting Kelowna—it's a 5-star experience that shouldn't be missed!

My favourite part of visiting Kelowna for a long weekend was the Kanagroo Creek Farm. I thought visitors could only look at the animals in their cages, but at this farm, you can get up and close with the animals and even feed some of them like the kangaroos and the wallabies.
There are two sections to the farm with one section with kangaroos, wallabies, goats, chicken, rooster, peacock, and the other section with emu, porcupine, birds, rabbits, and capybaras. You must go to both sides but only the side with the kangaroo, they would give you popcorn to feed them. We had such a great time here and spent nearly two hours just walking around and looking at the animals, petting them, and even feeding popcorn to the kangaroos and wallabies.
There was also a food truck that serves burgers and snacks, and a play area for kids in the middle. Would highly recommend visiting for those who are animal lovers! It was $20 admission for adults.

This is really nice place to hang out along with children. They would love to feed the animals and spend time petting them. We had our best time with our daughter, she was so excited to see the animals so close to her.
There is small eatery inside, you can enjoy some burgers. It is not a huge place and the entry time is $20 for adults, however the money is worth it and required for them to maintain this place and animals.
We were able to spend say 2 hours here, it is really beautiful and well maintained.

They have got mild courses which would be more comfortable for kids and those afraid of heights(for all age froup). They have tree courses for adults and 7 different levels to choose from. Was worried that it would be outside his skill level but at 3 years old (almost 4) he was just about to do all the activities and even did three laps. Was a pretty relaxed atmosphere with kids enjoying the area and parents walking.
The staff was super pleasant to talk to and get him ready to go out. Overall it was a great way to spend an hour and a half and to burn off some energy.

Super fun! What a blast when spending time here. We did 7-course of different difficulty levels (boy the 7 one was a struggle) and the 3 -course zip line (we ended up redid the zip-line many times just for fun. The view was breathtaking, especially the view of the whole mountains on course 4, so beautiful. There are different areas for kids if they want to attempt the rope climbing (with safety net for every course so parents won’t be worry every time their kids attempt to cross the obstacles. Anyway, we had super duper fun here and will recommend people to try it out!

We had SO much fun here! The Kinder course was perfect for my 6 & 8 year old (and honestly for my husband & I as well)! The staff was so kind and helpful. All of the guests did a great job at following the rules while we were there and it made for a very enjoyable & safe experience. Next time we will bring lunch (they even have propane grills) so that we can stay longer.

Great little place. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Some courses are challenging for out of shape 40 year olds like me, but kids loved it.

Spent the day on the tree course and had an amazing time! Huge thanks to Bryson who helped my daughter get through one of the courses when she got a little scared, he walked her through each step and encouraged her so much she managed to try the rest of the courses on her own.

Really loved this place up in the hill and away from the normal rush. Lots of room to explore with helpful staff and courses and activities that can pose a challenge. What I liked most is that you can get as much or as little help as you need along the way. It allows you to find your own way and gain that sense of accomplishment.
Summerhill Pyramid Winery is a winery that offers tours and tastings of organic and biodynamic wines. In addition to their wine offerings, they also have a bistro and an aboriginal gallery. This winery, located in the central Okanagan Valley, is known for its short-but-intense growing seasons and cold winters, which contribute to their award-winning sparkling wines and Icewines.
Amazing service everyone was so friendly and helpful, my mom is in a wheelchair and has Huntington's and they were very accommodating. Food was phenomenal fresh and flavorful!!! The wine is next level y'all!! The winery is a site to see and I can't wait to return for tastings and more food this summer!! I highly recommend making this part of your winery tour or lunch/dinner for the day!

Sensational wines and the best value tasting I have come across in multiple countries. $11.50 for 4 samples, although I was served 6 on a quiet Friday afternoon, including a $188 per half bottle ice wine. And no pressure to purchase wine, although if you do the tasting is deducted from the price.Lovely location, great views, and the lady who served and chatted to me was lovely. Very highly recommend a visit.

Last weekend I tried for the first time their Bistro and I've been positively impressed with the food. The "Garden" board was excellent and the pizza too: the dough was thin, crunchy and light (I'm Italian, I'm picky when it comes to pizza doughs 😉). The wine selection is good, I personally had a glass of their organic Syrah and i really liked it.

Looks like only organic/biodynamic winery around lower mission. Dog friendly (inside too!), have gallery and a little shop. Visited for a wine tasting (10$, don’t need to pay it if you buy a bottle), haven’t tried their bistro yet. Check out the pyramid, it’s open to come in and peak inside. And of course, amazing views!
Auguste Eidri — Google review
Very cool place if you are a wine lover. I would NOT recommend you go eat at their bistro, their service is so slow. We only got the appetizers and it took an HOUR of waiting after appetizers that we decided to leave. Also, their menu selection is very limited in terms of options, only 4 for both appetizers and entrees.
Phantom Kitty (PhantomKitty) — Google review
Plus points are that they have electrical car chargers on the property and it's free charging, and the views are spectacular. However, it's just too crowded with busloads of mainly Chinese tourists. We didn't get to do any wine tasting. The much talked about pyramid was actually a disappointment. There's really nothing to see inside or much of an explanation as to how it enhances the wine although we've heard stories about it before venturing there to take a look.

Truly excellent lunch to be had here with a selection of their own wines. What we drank was indeed extremely good wine.
There is an opportunity being missed to offer a full tasting menu. And as a comment we chose the winery as sushi was advertised on the website but was no longer available in house. Children’s offer was nothing less than limited. A pasta.
Equally wines are not cheap by the glass so we had only one glass.
The terrace offers superb views if the lake while we ate.
The Irish Chef Abroad — Google review
Free tasting with any choice of their wines, which is a huge plus. The only thing was that it felt like a little bit too touristic. There are a lot of signage with Chinese and other languages, which are meant for all the tourist buses that visit.... free entry into the pyramid. Was a cool building but seemed to be a storage for the cases of the wine... spectacular view of the lake

One year ago today my husband & I had our elopement at Summerhill Pyramid Winery. Not only is Summerhill one of the most beautiful venues for a wedding…but the staff was absolutely unreal at taking care of us and making sure our elopement was perfect! Nicole was so kind and helpful right from the first email, made it easy to postpone due to covid restrictions, calmed our nerves about the weather forecast, rolled with it when we were an hour late for our ceremony, helped me before walking down the aisle, helped with our sabrage and even accommodating us with a late bistro seating!
Our wedding was more than we even hoped for and it may not have been if it wasn’t for Nicole & the other staff! From the bottom of our hearts….thank you!
Also, the bistro staff were amazing! So kind and helpful and even held our food so we could sneak away from the table for a few more pics between ordering and eating! The food was absolutely incredible and the dessert was a wonderful and delicious surprise!
So again….thank you to Nicole and everyone at Summerhill who made our day so perfect!! We can’t recommend them enough!!!

READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO!!!
Oh. My. God. The Bistro Restaurant was absolutely an abomination to anyone who loves food. I cannot stress this enough, do not eat here. I am not picky whatsoever, but this was horrible. Charcuterie they charge like $45 for and you get what was pictured 😂. A loaf of bought bread, a few slices of meat, some nasty cheeses and jam. The pasta hard like stale sitting out all day, lacked flavour and was cold upon arrival. The vegan calamari (oyster mushrooms) were burnt to a crisp- was just deep fried mess. The view was amazing, our wine we bought was good and so was our server! But most definitely do not come here hungry- severely dissatisfied and disappointed as food would make a winery’s experience all that better..

I had a reservation, when I arrived with my family we waited more than 15min for someone to come and assign our table . The hostess saw us and she just didn't care . She was not friendly at all . She said she didn't have our name on the list but she didn't even asked for it ...
Despite the rude hostess our waitress was a very friendly, kind and professional person.
The dishes are not tasty at all , they look beautiful tho but there's no flavor. Come to this place if you want to take beautiful pictures of the place and food but don't expect a delicious dish. Wine and cocktails are great. Expensive for tasteless food. Excellent for the views, wine and place .

Went in for a bite to eat with friends. There was one staff running the bistro and she only had one table seated. She told us to go pay $50 in wine tasting because she couldn't currently handle us and needed time. We tried to be seated after a few minutes in the gift shop and she still wasn't able to do her job of being attentive to more than one table at a time, so we unfortunately left. Disappointing for what's supposed to be a high class winery.

We were so incredibly lucky to secure Summerhill for our wedding. Not only is this one of our favourite wineries in the Okanagan, but hands-down, the most iconic, beautiful wedding venue you’ve ever set your eyes on! The food… OH. MY. WORD!!!!! We are still dreaming about it today, months later. Livi and her team are insane… we honestly felt like royalty from the beginning to the end. We cannot express how thankful we are for everyone. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of indulging here, you know how amazing the experience is. Well, they go above all expectations for weddings! The entire team deserves more than 5 stars! Seriously, don’t hesitate – book NOW! xx

One of the place to visit in Kelowna, BC is the Summerhill Pyramid Winery. Wine tasting is offered to everyone. The host bartender explains the wine process of the Ice Wine, their best seller. The icy wine is very smooth and soothing to taste. Cost is from $88 to $168 for a 750ml. There are a lot more good-priced varieties of in-house organic wines. Aside from wines, they have a bistro and an aboriginal gallery.
The staffs are friendly and welcoming.
The winery is in a huge land with its grape farm and the pyramid cellar where the wine is finished. It has a beautiful view scenery overlooking the Chute Lake. I recommend this place to visit.

A great first winery of our 2022 visit. You can not go wrong with this winery. Definitely will not be disappointed with a stay, I love the new outdoor wine tasting area.
Big bonus is non cost tasting. But to be fair I have never not picked up a bottle of wine from this place. Staff are always welcoming and not snobby. We did not do the food this trip but it has a amazing view and a good selection. Definitely a top 5 and a must hit for your trip.
Quails' Gate Winery is a winery located in Kelowna, British Columbia that offers wine tours, tastings and accommodations on the property. The winery was founded by Gary Quails, who also owns and operates the Old Vines Restaurant on site. One of the highlights of the trip! I would highly recommend the lunch special 3 course with matching wine pairings. Was outstanding as was the service of Kelly. The Okanagan was amazing for, but this ranks as one of the top locations we visited!

Food was perfect! Everything was extraordinarily delicious and well executed. Plating was good, wine was good too. Nothing to complain. Would be perfect if they make the sour dough bread complementary. But it’s fine.
Easily the best restaurant in a winery in the region.

She was down to earth and made the experience that much better. The wine was great as I expected it would be. The location was perfect, and view from the balcony was breathtaking. We all enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to go back. Thanks Kim for a great time.

I am writing to commend our server, Amy, at the Old Vines Restaurant. We had dinner there for our anniversary and in all honesty, she provided THE best service I have ever had and I am not young! Her attention to the smallest details and knowledge of both the wines and menu were remarkable. She’s a keeper! Thank you Amy for making this so special.

Recently my company rented a private room for our Christmas gathering. The food was absolutely delicious, the wine pairings were lovely and the portions were very generous. The service was second to none.
My partner and I arrived early so we decided to partake in a wine tasting prior to dinner. Lark looked after us, and treated us like royalty. She was very professional, and extremely knowledgeable. She made the experience unforgettable, and was the best tasting experience I have ever had, and I have been to every winery in the valley.
My only suggestion would be for you to invest in a large round or oval table, as it is better for socializing. Some of our team members we don’t get to see very often, and some of them live out of town, so it would have been better to see and talk to them throughout dinner in this type of setting.

Had the pleasure to visit Quail Gate Winery and had to say that is one of my favourite spots when in Kelowna.
Please make reservations, give yourself extra time to enjoy the grounds, make sure you do some wine tasting and take good wine home.
If you get a chance please checkout their restaurant. The food and desserts are out of this world. You won’t be disappointed and will leave with a smile.

This winery I was very excited to see, as many of my friends recommended it. Maybe I wasn’t lucky and what I experienced is not the norm.
The service and staff were so awful that I cannot even remember the quality of their wine. They treated us as if we were asking to try their wine for free.
I belong to the hospitality industry and perhaps look at the operations with a different mindset. Our server seemed a bit lost, not being very detailed on what she was giving us to taste, but what I disliked the most, was that she was wearing a dirty uniform.
The other ladies in the front, were not welcoming at all. Since there were covid restrictions we are asked to stay in our tables and not move. I went to take a picture on the Quails Gate sign and I was yelled at. ( I attached the picture 😂) the camera capture the moment were I turned.
Terrible experience, the only nice thing was: the view 😍 and we still took beautiful pictures together. We made the best out of it.
I do not recommend them. But you may have a better experience than me.

We had the most amazing time at this vineyard! We had friends visiting from England and Quail’s Gate was on the list as I had been there before and the quality of wine, views and vineyard I knew would impress. Our family comes here once to twice a year for wine tasting. Today, Gabby served us and provided a very pleasant experience! She was very professional and knowledgeable, explaining each wine we tried, answering each of our questions, offering recommendations based on our individual preferences, and giving suggestions on what best to pair the wines with. We purchased some of the wines we tried and are excited to have them as recommended by Gabby! The atmosphere here is always friendly and beautiful. Thank you for such a great experience!

On Feb 18 2024, my long time friend reunited with me at Quails Gate to have wine and lunch to grieve for my mom who had just passed. We did a wine tasting with Lark and she must have sensed our vibe. She served us well and when we were in discussion, she sensed when to not talk to us about wines. Some wineries have staff that prioritize their presentation. Lark sensed when to interject and struck the perfect balance. She was lovely. Thank you to Lark!

Dinner here with my wife and friend. Been years since my last visit. Our server, Brett was the ultimate professional. Friendly and prompt, also accommodating. We ordered 2 appetizers, a half bottle of gewurtz, 3 main dishes for each of us and the suggested wine pairing for my risotto. Dinner was a wonderful experience. Great ambiance though there were a few loud, slightly inebriated dinner guests nearby whose voices carried throughout the entire place. Nevertheless, enjoyed the meal and definitely a must for when you’re in the Kelowna area.

We were recommended Quails gate for a wine tasting tour, hence we did it. The overall experience was below average and there was no energy in the tour. Our guide was not very friendly unfortunately, she did not address us with the other groups, also forgot to pour us the wine when we were standing right there, we felt neglected.
I’m guessing it depends on who your tour guide is and your experience can vary.
I wish I would have just walked in like others and did the normal tasting, the tour was a flop.

We checked the reviews on Google map before we chose the winery. I called and tried to make a reservation but failed since no one answered it. Two clerks were chatting behind the counter when we arrived the hall but they didn’t care about us. We waited for a while and I had to ask for help. We chose the wine tasting, but too bad they didn’t offer any snacks to go with the wine.
It’s a lovely place with spacious and well-decorated indoor space. The grape wine field is really gorgeous. We appreciated it a lot.
There were many guests that afternoon and we had a very nice girl helping us with the wine tasting. Unfortunately, the white/ red wine we tried wasn’t satisfying. Some of the red wine was bitter, how disappointing.

Took some friends visiting from the Prairies for a wine tasting at Quail's Gate yesterday. It has been a few years since I had been there and had forgotten how the beautiful views are from the winery and how lovely the wines are. The staff who greeted us at the door were attentive and got us set up right away for our tasting on the balcony. PAULA, who facilitated our tasting, was welcoming, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the wines. She even provided us all with large glasses of ice water before starting the tasting, which was really appreciated on such a hot day.
I (and my guests) loved the wine and the whole experience. We will definitely be back. Thanks Paula and Quail's Gate!

The price for wine samples was the highest that we paid in the valley. We paid for the first level which was $15 and I like bold red wine so bought the third level at $35. One of the reds from the first level was also in the third. I found that to be misleading. But the wines we ok at best.
From doing sampling at Frind and Cedar Creek Quails Gate was a level below in flavour. My complaint is the price they charge for the tasting.
Both other places were $10 a person and if you purchased , the tasting fee was free. That is not the case with Quails gate. We purchased wine at all 3 wineries. But will never go back to Quails Gate. You have out priced your wine tasting. Do a survey of your competitors, you may be surprised.
I will definitely share my story and already have.

This review is a tad bit overdue, but necessary.
My family and I came to our reservation in July 2023, which we booked months in advance; We had friends from out of town join us (party of 2).
When we arrived at the restaurant the initial hosts had no issue with us trying to sit together, it was the assistant manager that made a material issue out of the matter.
I sat there discussing potential seating options with the assistant manager, who after much negotiation gave us a larger table inside (FYI, we never asked for a patio table, they allocated that to our original four top).
I completely understand during the summer months how busy the restaurant can be and how limited seating can be, however the day and time we were there, there were open tables for the duration of our 3 hour stay and our $700 bill.
The assistant manager that we dealt with was one of the most antagonist people I have met in any of the wineries that we have been to.

Located in the Okanagan Valley, Mission Hill Family Estate Winery produces award-winning wines from five estate vineyards. The winery has a 12-story bell tower and European architecture, making it one of the most prominent wineries in the area. The estate also offers tours and wine tastings, as well as being home to an amphitheater and restaurant.
Our afternoon at Mission Hill was most enjoyable. Our host Phoebe took us for a tour of the stunning property and down into the wine cellar before bringing us to our seated tasting. Lovely wines paired with delicious bites in a cozy elegant room with a blazing fire. Superb beginning to our Valentines weekend. Thank you Phoebe!! ❤️🍷❤️

A beautiful location with impressive views. Entering the premises you’ll notice the grounds are very well tended, large items of artwork are dotted around leading to the main area with some impressive architecture. As well as an on-site shop to purchase wines and gifts you can learn about Mission Hill by taking a wine tour with optional dining after. Pre-booking is essential. It’s worth noting that this location is more of a ‘show’ winery and not a working one, not that it made a difference to our visit.
The dining experience with wine pairings is a marvellous way to finish your visit. The food is all locally sourced and each course is meticulously crafted. Definitely a great place for a wine enthusiasts or to celebrate a special occasion.

Worth the visit even if you’re not tasting. The property has a wonderful view and even better in the spring/summer. It’s massive and well kept, the tasting and sales department also have their signature products as well as some items that are exclusively available there. I am no expert on fine dining, but the experience at Terrace restaurant in Mission Hill gave me a completely new feeling about this. From the beautiful ground to the knowledgeable staff, the cutlery they use and the display of food to the food and wine pairing, you can see a lot of details and thoughts been put into the experience.
I thought a perfect paired food and wine fine dining experience is not just about the food and wine. It's about the ambiance, the service, and the attention to detail. It's about the experience of being taken on a journey that engages all of the senses. It's about creating memories that will last a lifetime. And I feel that’s why this experience in Mission Hill is called “Lasting Legacy”.
Experience it yourself if you are visiting Okanagan this summer, recommended.

If I have to be honest here. The place is really pricey and if you are looking to do a tasting it might not be the place to do so. The tasting is really pricey. The place itself is really commercial and it seems like making great wines are not the priority but instead the emphasis was put on giving you a more sophisticate experience to taste simple wine. I will be brutally honest the wines are not the greatest for the price. I could definitely taste that the wine itself was a bit more refined but in my opinion the price was not worth it for what it was. view is nice if you want to take any pictures.

One of the most famous wineries in all of Kelowna. I enjoyed the visit in the cellars, the history of the family, the business and the views.
Highlight for me was the actual time in the tasting room - we did the experience that included a food pairing with each wine
Of course this was a bit more expensive but it was nice to splurge on one of the most famous wineries in the area
I loved loved being greeted with a glass of wine too! Gets you in the mood / head space right away.
Our tour guide, Adrian, was very nice. She was knowledgeable and patient as we moved through the estate
The only thing I would have wished for was there to be actual grapes or vines on the tour. I feel like everyone wants that iconic photo in between some vines and unfortunately the ones that they have near the front of the property, I assume for photos, were all bare. I understand this was probably beyond their control - but worth noting if you plan to visit.

If you haven’t gone, see some view you won’t see any other way!

This was a fantastic and worthwhile experience, and I would certainly do it again as well. The staff were all great and were having as good of a time as the customers; a great relaxed atmosphere. The whole experience exceeded expectations: great views, great people and a great time

Josh and Austin were great guides and we had lots of fun with them on the ziplines. They were very supportive of my wife who was a little nervous on some of the lines. Really great day and would thoroughly recommend.

I’m Sue and went zip lining with my friend Billy on the long weekend. It was amazing. We were first timers. Very nervous. Our guides, Journey and Nathan were excellent. Knowledgeable, encouraging and patient. Well organized and we felt safe. I highly recommend this zip line. It was exhilarating.

Me and my teenage kids did the 6 line adventure on August 3rd. All the staff we interacted with were fun and professional. Loved the quirky signs on the short walks between the lines also. Thanks for a great time!

Despite the smoke in the air we were able to enjoy our experience. I'd actually say it was advantageous as we were alone when groups are normally 10.
The lines are very impressive crossing the valley each time with various speeds, points of view and lengths.
Drew and Steph our guides were very good at making me comfortable given I'm not adventure seeker and my girlfriend enjoyed herself with an upsidedown crossing 🤙

Guides, Dan and Journey were so fun! I am terrified of heights, but after the first step off the platform, I didn't even notice the height. The views were amazing. The small hikes were made entertaining by all of the jokes and funny displays placed throughout the trails. The staff were very professional and friendly and I felt that they had my family's safety handled expertly.

A fun, exhilarating experience. They have some outdoor games you can play before or after ziplining. They are knowledgeable and have great sense of humours.

Dan and Jason were awesome. My daughter who is 8 was terrified. She needed being brave and did it and had a blast. Thanks for the encouragement. The zip lines were fast and fun. The team really knew what they were doing and safety was always on the forefront. Thank you. We will come back.

Wow! What an amazing experience. These are high and long and super fast Ziplines. They are also so comfortable from the harness, instructions and most importantly the ride and braking system. I have done Ziplines at a number of places. This places takes the cake. Our tour guides were top notch funny yet very very safety conscious at all times. Perfect afternoon adventure for my 11 year old’s birthday party with her 3 friends. We signed up for 4 ziplines but ended up doing all 6 as it was so FUN!! Guide Steph even sang Happy Birthday as she Zipped to meet us on last line.. Thank You for the great adventure!

Dirty Laundry Vineyard in Summerland is a down-to-earth and welcoming winery with a fantastic selection of delicious wines. The staff are friendly and the service is excellent, making it a great place to visit. The winery also offers a wonderful patio where visitors can relax and enjoy food and drinks. Additionally, the wine club is worth considering for those who want to access their selections from afar, especially for Calgary residents.
5 stars for ambiance!! The most beautiful patio set up I've seen yet! Especially on a hot day. The wine wasn't my favorite personally but this place is well worth visiting for the patio and pizza alone!! The also have beer flights!

Amazing Experience.
Definitely the best winery experience we’ve ever had! Amazing pergola covered patio intertwined with grape vine greenery and beautiful hanging flower baskets that overlooked the vineyard and surrounding hills. Misters to keep you cool while seated at comfortable patio tables eating from a large selection of cheeses, meats, olives and spreads out of the wine shop or order off the menu for pizza, smoked meats or salad. Vegan options available. Enjoy watching an old fashioned steam engine tour train pass below and over a bridge.
Visit the beer and wine saloon or gelato/sorbet bar.
The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The wines tasting flights offered 5 selections. The wine shop had a good selection of gifting options. Family friendly atmosphere yet very classy and comfortable. Must visit winery!

Super cute place and a fun tasting... our large group from BC Wine Appreciation Society enjoyed a fun tasting and a great lunch! A fun place to stop with beer as well wine and the food was delicious. We had BBQ and pizza. So good! The views are stunning as well!! Thanks so much to Kristen for organizing it all making us all feel so welcome.

Love that as Wine Club members we can now book a table. Although the food; wine; beer and service, not to mention the views are well worth any wait! Came along for Easter Sunday to while away the afternoon. Picnic basket, craft beer and my favourite Hush Rose paired with the most amazing pizzas. We had a beautiful afternoon. Kristen and her team always make us very welcome. Will be back very soon and many times this year for sure!!

This winery vineyard is one of my favorite in BC. The place itself looks amazing, the building is one of a kind. The theme is hilarious and intriguing. They sell both homemade beers and wines that are all delicious. Prices are affordable. Can get quite busy, better off reserving in case.

Always wonderful! I reccomend this place for everyone. They are not stuck up and they have delicious wine that is absolutely fantastic. They are not intimidating and they are so down to earth. I can't say which wine is the best as I love every single one of their wines and the price point is so great that you can buy lots. This makes their wine club worth it to especially for us Calgary people who can't just drive here to get all of the selections they have. Please visit this place you will not be disappointed!

I was so excited to finally stop in for lunch at dirty laundry. Although the views were wonderful, I found the staff was less than welcoming. To boot, in what seems like an effort to speed up your experience, most interactions are done on a kiosk.
It was one of the first days of spring and I understand you need to train staff, however, leaving us for 5 minutes during a wine tasting to help other customers as your staff did not know how to ring them in, is not acceptable.
Our pizza was also undercooked.
Unfortunately I will not be back.

What an outstanding experience at this wonderful, award winning winery!! We did the Elevated Tasting and it was awesome! GREAT wines expertly paired with well matched bites and a comprehensive explanation of each wine by a highly trained member of the Dirty Laundry team, Belinda. If you are in the general area of Summerland/Penticton, then you must stop by Dirty Laundry Vineyard. A unique experience accompanied by beer on tap as well as oven roasted pizza, too good to pass up. Wine is great too!

Beautiful location, great patio, and lovely food. The only strange thing about this winery is that it feels oddly cold and automated because you spend more time interacting with technology (order screens and cut-outs/posters) than actual vintners. It feels like a “wine-o-mat”. If you don’t mind that oddity, a great patio to enjoy a glass and bite.

"The Book Shop" in Penticton is a massive used bookstore, one of the largest in Canada. With over 5000 square feet of space, it's a favorite spot for book lovers. The store offers a wide variety of books, including out-of-print books, rare finds, and first editions. It's a must-visit destination for anyone looking to explore an extensive collection of literature.
The Book Shop is located along Main Street and there is no question that the purpose of this store is to share people’s interest , knowledge and experience with reading…our short time here did not allow our real interest in books to be applied as the floor to ceiling book inventory was vast….next time we will have a major focus here…we left the store with an appreciation of this business and the value of reading and books that is present here…

Lovely old timey bookstore. I love the smell of an old bookstore. Also a good selection of classic and criterion films to rent. One downside was the price of some of these books. 125$ for a used art book was more than I found it for used online. Otherwise a must see!
CeeJ — Google review
I will definitely be going back. So many choices and sections. Stools throughout the stores were really helpful. I spent about an hour in here and it was not enough time at all. It's not a mainstream kind of book store. I recommend 100% for those who enjoy the old fashion of sense of truly looking for old style books and more.
Brenda Garcia — Google review
Not that great. Skip it. I went to check it out because it was listed as top 10 things to do in Penticton and I like books. I was hoping for a relaxing place to saunter around wail enjoying the smell of old books and perhaps finding a new favorite affordable read. Instead, it was cramped, expensive, and the staff stared at my kids like they were shop-lifers. At one point one staff member told my son to put down a book he was looking at. It was on the shelf, for sale, he's seven and fully capable of reading and picking out his own book. He was simply looking at it, if my phone hadn't rang at that moment I would have helped my son navigate that interaction but he politely put it back and that was that. If I had to sum up this place in two words I would say "Pretentious & disappointing".

I LOVE this book shop!
There's always a fantastic selection and, despite the large number of books they have, the people who work there really know their stuff and can direct to the exact book you're looking for, no matter how obscure (even if you don't know the author, or even the exact title).
For me, it's like being a kid in a candy store.
I always look forward to spending some time perusing their wonderful collection!

This place is an absolute treasure! Not only were the staff incredibly helpful and engaged but the amount of books in this one spot spanning throughout... the history of books almost... is incredible. I found some childhood favorites and some new ones and several for my son to read. The prices are really fair and the books are in great shape. We walked out with some really great books and can't wait to come back!
The SS Sicamous Marine Heritage Society is a restored boat that used to transport people and goods in inland BC from 1914 to 1936. It has been permanently moored and offers a self-guided tour with knowledgeable staff, great views of the area and cool exhibits such as a large model train exhibit. The museum has reasonable prices for admission with different rates for adults, seniors, children and families. Personal items on display give visitors a glimpse into history making it worth the small entry fee.
I think we've been to the SS Sicamous three times. It's always interesting.
Most interesting I find is that the second deck was removed to make the ship more economical to run. Details are on the window sill on the front of the Texas deck. Compare the real boat to the replica near the top of the stairs.

The Penticton Visitor Information Centre, located at 888 Westminster Ave, is a great resource for visitors to the area. They offer maps of local wineries and attractions, as well as information on hidden gems and upcoming events in Penticton and the Okanagan Valley. The friendly staff are knowledgeable and willing to help with any questions or advice needed for exploring the area.
We loved visiting Penticton BC. The SS Sicamous Sternwheeler Museum is Fabulous and well worth seeing. The Historical Museum & Archives was also great. Our ride on the Kelly Valley Steam Train was alot of fun too. Their Farmers Market downtown on Main Street Saturday mornings is one of the best in the Northwest. The town has something for everyone. We cycled out purposefully to find out about wine tours. It was challenging to get the information we wanted. One would think that at a place like this you would get advice tailored to your desires. Not so much.
And when I told the fellow that I had almost cut myself on some broken glass outside he seemed to take a very nonchallant attitude. We ended up just going on our own - self guided touring. Actually, the best way to tour the vineyards, I think, is to take a bicycle on the trails! That was amazing!!!

LocoLanding Adventure Park is a mini amusement park that is family-owned and offers an array of attractions for visitors to enjoy. There is a go-kart track, an 18-hole mini-golf course, bumper boats, wall climbing, a bouncy castle/obstacle course, and a rope climbing jungle gym with safety harnesses. Admission to the park is free but rides are pay-per-use.
Nice spot for kids and there are few adventure they can try here while parents can get a bit of rest.
However adults can join too.
What l really liked was the friendly welcoming staff here. And thats what you want to see in each business!
Just wanted to share one of my experience with their staff here: I could not go on the splash boat for a ride with my daughter while my wife went with my son . So we gave 3 tickets as wanted to go for 3 separate one. as my son was scared to go alone, my wife accompanied him on his splash boat. without asking, the young teenager girl brought an extra ticket and told me as my wife and my son has used one boat only , one ticket would be sufficient!
I really thought it was one ticket per person.
Just wanted to say thanks and sorry that l could not remember your name!

The staff was very friendly and helpful! It's so great to see the younger generation participating in a great work opportunity!
-The mini golf area is extremely unique and captivating.
-The bounce house is impressive!
-The kids LOVED the bumper boats!
-The ropes course miraculously gave my son (who claimed he was afraid of heights) a major boost of confidence!
-The go karts are quick and quiet!
-Even my toddler enjoyed the Monkey Motion attraction!
-Also, don't forget to pick yourself up a screamer at the concession stand (the big boat) and race the remote control boats on the river!
-We didn't get a chance to try the Rockwall on this visit, but it looked fun!
Overall, it was a lovely day! The kids can't wait to go back, and honestly, I am looking forward to it too.

Special shout out to Rocky for being an excellent host during our wine tasting experience with a deep passion and understanding of the heritage at Noble Ridge.
Great history on the vines here and the exquisite selection of reds and whites that are incredibly smooth and earthy and buttery.
The expansion of their facility and the fully booked wine club is a testament of their quality of wine.
Highly recommend a stop here and hope they have a kitchen here in the future.

Here are some photos of the Noble Ridge Winery in the Okanagan Valley with its outstanding view to the south overlooking Vaseux Lake. The wines are quite good and are good value as well. I particularly liked the 2021 Pinot Noir, which was only lightly oaked. I chatted with Leslie D'Andrea, who founded and owns the winery with her husband Jim. You can bring your own lunch and eat it in the garden if you buy some of their wine... not a hard sell!

Tasting room with a great view over the valley and river. Tasting room is small and cozy but the outdoor seating is amazing. I'm not a white wine fan but the ones here are amazing. So much so that we got a bottle of the Mingle, cheese and nuts and spent a lovely afternoon outside. The manager is very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are very reasonable for the wines.

We went to Noble Ridge for wine tasting at the end of Oct on a sunny day. The view was spectacular and the service was amazing. Wendy was our host and she was phenomenal. Upon hearing that we were celebrating our friend’s 49th bday. She immediately switched out the tasting menu to all her fav type of wine. And she even offer to let us taste some of the reserve and some higher price ones. I am not a wine drinker, and I don’t usually like wine. But I was really impressed with all 7 wines she brought out (she really listened). They are all so smooth and full of aroma. I was happily buzzed but didn’t get any discomfort feeling I get when I drank cheap wine 😎. I ended up buying one of the reserved called “the Crown” - it’s supposed to be like Port, but I think it tastes better than the Port I had in Portugal... will definitely recommend this place.

Not my favourite winery in the area but nonetheless a good selection of wines. I particularly liked the Autumn Gold, Pinot Gris, and Late Harvest Gewurztraminer. Service was good.

We decided to come to Wild Goose today for a tasting and check out their new bistro. Thanks to Darren for a lovely wine tasting and thanks Steve for accommodating us for lunch. Delicious food, beautiful wine paired with a fantastic view. If you’re in the area stop by Wild Goose.

Had a lovely time visiting the Wild Goose today with my elderly in-laws for wine-tasting and the bistro. Karen was so accomodating in setting up seating that was more senior-friendly, but I would love to see a permanent seating area that is more accomodating and inclusive for seniors or anyone who is not able to be comfortable on a higher stool. Thanks again for the great experience and personal touches.

We heard about this place from our visit to Burrowing Owl and given a discount card to check it out (The person at Burrowing Owl excellent btw). We went and were happy with the wines. We were most impressed by the restaurant though. Food was delicious. Good value. The service was fast. Not at all snobby. They even gave us a free entree to try since we had ordered everything else on the “Table” list and it was near closing. My two daughters are vegetarian so they wanted us to try it. So good!!! Definitely highly recommend.

The Bistro at Wild Goose Vineyards presents the best seasonal ingredients in the best delicious and flavourful dishes in OK Falls. The fresh burrata and rhubarb preserve on focaccia was vibrant and fresh. The calamari was crisp and light and perfectly cooked and the feature dish, sunchoke gnocchi with corn and prawns was the best thing I've had in MONTHS. The rebranding of this restaurant is a major success!! Not to mention the view from the patio and the warm hospitality!

In all fairness, I have not tried the wines here yet, thus one star for the food. I had come from two other wineries before this one and just needed to eat something though. I will share my experience here. I had just felt I would try the wines here next time around. So, my son and I had asked about their restaurant/bistro and they had smoked meats (southern style), you know, bbq ribs, beef brisket other pork pieces (shoulder) which they called it “pig wings”. So we decided to share a dish (sampler) all their meats. The pictures and the menu illustrates it a little. Meat was flavourless, and dry and, if not completely soaked and doused on, not very good bbq sauce which made the whole dish barely eatable! The corn bread however, was surprisingly tasty but, “what’s wrong with baking fresh every day?!” It was served cold and it just looked and tasted like they bake it once maybe twice a week. Keeping it in the cooler. Not fresh at all! Poor choice! The black bean and the coleslaw were completely unbeatable as well. Terrible food prep and presentation. The server tried her best to make sure I was happy with our meal she even brought some meat without the awful bbq sauce but, to no avail. Their kitchen needs a miracle!!! She was very courteous and friendly but unfortunately that doesn’t make up for a really bad chef and less than palatable food. I will go there again for a wine tasting but, definitely NOT for the food. No matter how hard the staff try to serve you with friendliness, just does not make up for poor choices at the kitchen! Just NOT good at all. They’d be better of just serving a cold cut platter with cheeses and crostini or up their standards at the kitchen! Definitely NOT recommend for the food. Eat some place else before you get there.

A meat lovers dream! The BBQ style food such as pulled pork sandwiche, charcuterie board and buffalo burgers is somewhat limited but delicious. There is a long list of delicious sides available, including potato salad, but be warned, fries are not available. Prices are reasonable compared to other winery restaurants. Nice views.

Such a beautiful place. The tasting room is great and the staff are so nice, welcoming and helpful. Their wines are unique and well balanced. The food is good too, yummy and nicely prepared. You should visit this place and meet with their great people!

Incredibly good wines and amazing food. Had to come back here twice for their smokehouse. The ribs and wines were divine.
Excellent service thanks to Spring and Karen and their restaurant staff Terry and chef Dave!!
Worth stopping there twice let alone once!
See Ya Later Ranch is a centuries-old winery located high on Hawthorne Mountain, offering a homey and cozy atmosphere with an off-the-grid feel. We've been to See Ya Later Ranch a number of times but this time was extra special. For my son's 19th Birthday we asked him what he would like to do and he said he'd love to go for his first official wine tasting up at See Ya Later Ranch. We are always welcomed and treated so warmly there and this time was Just as we expected! Thank you for helping us make our son's 19th birthday special and memorable. If you are in the area definitely check this winery out. Beautiful views and price point on the wines is great.

Wow!
I’m blown away with my experience and the wine! The wine is great but the hospitality is what makes this a must stop on your winery tour.
So many positives - dog friendly, covered patios and tables for when it’s too hot. Knowledgeable and patient staff. It’s also very beautiful scenery and well kept.
Until next time - see ya later! Because we will be back FOR SURE.

See Ya Later ranch provided the best service for our wedding. We are so grateful and wouldn’t have had it any other way. Tara was so helpful for the whole process, and everything went so smooth on the day of thanks to the team at the venue. This weekend my sister and I enjoyed an hour of absolute pleasure with our daughters at See Ya Later Ranch. Our bubbly hostess Stephanie shared the delightful story of this beautifully unique winery, while the four of us enjoyed our delicious flights of wine and jaw dropping surroundings. This dog friendly winery cannot be missed.

One of, if not the best, wineries experiences we’ve ever had. The staff is phenomenal. So engaging and friendly. They’re dog friendly which is a huge added bonus! And the view, wow - it’s definitely worth the drive :) 🍷

I definitely want to come back here, the views are also incredible. For my experience, I had reserved my tasting in advance and got the most perfect table. Really friendly museum run by enthusiastic, helpful and friendly volunteers. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Must stop for this museum if you would like to experience a step back in time in this once thriving mining town, Hedley. They had just celebrated 125 years of history in June 2023 (I wish I was here a month prior for this celebration ~ which takes place every 25 years!). Volunteer Margaret, who's now 81, said she was here for that 100 years party, and she is trying to convince the board to have another big celebration in 5 years, instead of 25 for she worried she might not be around this long. She gave me a sumup current stats in Hedley: there are 250 people, 400 dogs, and 600 cats 🐈😻🐈⬛️
Staff and volunteers are welcoming and wondeful~ they provided information not only from the past but also useful for the current time. There're coffee and desserts you can have at their patio, and soak up the vibes of this historical place.

We stopped in on impulse one day and are so glad we did! We had the BEST tour guide named Ruth who really took the time to tell us all about the area and stories you may not read in books. We stopped in at 2:30 and the museum closed at 4:00 so we didn't have time to go into a room FULL of books and pictures so we will definitely be going back to do that and have tea and pie as per Ruth's recommendation. Stop in - it is sooo worth it if you love pioneer history!

Very cool small "ghost town" just off hwy 3. Interesting little town, can see the mine entrance from below and old reminents of what was left after the fire sweeping through town.
Cool experience, must see and great place to stretch those legs for a merely 5-10 minutes.

We learned so much here! Ruth gave us the grand tour full of interesting facts and tidbits. Hedley is rich with history. Picked up some cool handmade magnets and souvenirs at the gift shop. Will have to come back for the pie. Thank you!
There is a wealth of hiking up in those cliffs! The road to get there is quite something! (Pictures posted also) I always like to have my QUICK-FIRE in my vehicle glove box emergency kit when travelling in this type of terrain.

This is an undiscovered and underrated gem of an attraction. If you’re a travel addict, you would love this place (and the hike up to the mine houses at the very top of the mountain). Unfortunately we arrived just a bit after closing time, but the museum guy saw us wondering around and we talked a bit. Even in the brief history he gave us, it was fascinating to learn about the history of the place and think of the engineering that went into the construction (starting 1903 on a really steep mountain) of the two mines. Mindblowing. It’s a shame more people don’t stop by. The town itself is down to 240 people from 700 at its peak, but we saw some really cute and artsy houses, so even just walking around was idyllic.
