The National Capital Trolley Museum is a hidden gem in the Washington D.C. area, showcasing classic streetcars from various parts of the world and offering trolley rides along a one-mile railway. The museum features well-curated displays with an organized interior and knowledgeable volunteers who provide valuable information about DC transit history as well as electric traction history in general. In addition to real trolleys, there are also toy trains and trolleys on exhibit at the facility.
My 6 year old adored this museum. The fascination for trains, tracks, and locomotives in general is well quenched here at the museum. The street car ride, just makes the entire experience multiply. To add to this, having Mr & Mrs Claus just made it more memorable for the kids.
Tips:
1. Parking is free on site
2. Book well in advance as it gets sold out
3. Plan for 45-60 mins visit here

Toy trains, toy trolleys, lots of rral trolleys in the wearhouse portion of the facility. My favorite part was the ride on the trolly through the woods. It's exactly what you would expect of a trolly museum. My young son seemed to like it.
Greg Porter — Google review
Hidden gem museum in Washington D.C. area . I feel like go back in time to enjoy with travel trips .
Thanade Sawasdee — Google review
Great for all ages and you can ride the trolly as many times as you like within the ticketed day
Jen Chinskey — Google review
Not a great visit. It seems very well funded and well staffed although only open 1 day a week. I arrived around 3:30, to find out I had to wait until a 4pm tour(30 mins) followed by a trolley ride. The museum is small and you basically explore all of the exhibits besides the trolley barn prior to the tour... that being said, my tour was a disaster. The young gentleman "conducting" the tour needs significantly more training before he should be allowed to lead tours. He was combative when people asked questions, a couple abandoned our tour and emerged later with an older gentleman who was our trolley driver and thankfully he took over the tour. Perhaps spending an hour here for 1 trolley ride is supposed to remind you what it used to be like... I just felt as a guest, you are an afterthought to a trolley collection and a bunch of people playing dress up. I wouldn't recommend my experience to anyone.
Trypp Adams — Google review
Very nice visit to this museum this afternoon. They have really nicely curated displays with a neat and tidy interior. The volunteers were very friendly and informative. This is a great way to learn about DC transit history as well as about history of electric traction in general. Well worth the visit and I'll definitely be back again.
David Vincent — Google review
Had a wonderful time here with my very active 3 year old son. The staff was very friendly and the tour was great. Kids really enjoyed the trolley ride.
Sameya Adem — Google review
Great place for a not too long visit. The trolley ride is definitely the highlight. There are several trolley cars on display. A recreation of a trolley track that kids can start the car sized trolley and power on lights in the "town."
Cleopatre Lake — Google review
What great fun and lots of history not only of DC but anywhere trolleys or interurban trains ran.
William West Hopper (DC Car Guy) — Google review
Probably one of the most underrated museums I’ve ever been too. Everyone here was very knowledgeable and kind. Plus we lucked out on being able to ride two different trolleys (truly by chance-thank you!) enjoyed every moment.
Kristyne Allen — Google review
Quaint little museum. Good for any kids that like trains or trolleys. They offer rides on their various trolleys. We'll definitely be going back when they start running the open top beach trolley.
Andy Klingensmith — Google review
We took my nephew here because he loves trolley cars.. it was such an amazing trip. The conductor was awesome and so knowledgeable.. we took a trolley ride..definitely a must do for the family... it's a lot to see and do..I truly recommend this trip.
VALERIE SMITH — Google review
After all the snow this week my family was looking to get out of the house. We made our first trip here and it was amazing. My 15mo old could have stayed for hours playing with the trolley diorama and the trolley ride was so much fun. The docents are so knowledgeable and eager to answer questions. We will be back!
The National Mall is one of the biggest parks in the nation and is located in the heart of Washington DC. The National Mall is home to many world-famous landmarks, including the Washington Monument and Smithsonian museums. The park becomes a tranquil wonderland at night thanks to its location next to monuments to historical figures such as Lincoln, MLK, FDR, and WWII & Vietnam vets. The National Park rangers are available to answer any questions you may have about the park.
It's a beautiful place with numerous monuments and museums based on the History of America. Very interesting and informative. Can easily spend a day here by just strolling through the entire area visiting all the memorials. There's a lot of walking involved. It would be a pleasant experience. If you decide to visit the museums, it may take more than a day. So plan accordingly.
LISA HANEY — Google review
This was my second time in DC. First time I visit was for work and I enjoyed the area that I had to bring my wife and kids. Truly a good experience. We walked along but also the metro was helpful for when we went outside dc. My wife really enjoyed it. Hopefully will return soon.
Jesus Lemus — Google review
Such a fun day exploring Washington DC!
Today made me proud to be an American. If you get a chance, walk through all the monuments and read the quotes and history. Amazing history!! I walked through everywhere and didn't have to wait or pay. You can navigate on your own if you're determined and have google maps on your phone.
Joel Valenti — Google review
We hit the Tidal basin for a Monday morning walk on a very cool but sunny day. We caught the cherry blossoms in a perfect state. Even us locals still love this spot!
Craig Spisak — Google review
It's a beautiful place dotted with numerous monuments and museums throwing light on the History of America. Very interesting and informative. Can easily spend a day here by just strolling through the entire area visiting all the memorials. There's a lot of walking involved, but if weather holds good (not so hot/cold), it would be a pleasant experience. It was slightly drizzling when we were there and so we loved all the walking and could go on and on without getting tired. If you decide to visit the museums, it may take more than a day. So plan accordingly.
Saiprabhu B — Google review
Really enjoyed scootering around the National Mall. Lots of things to see, lots of miles to go, it's a great thing there are plenty of available scooters that are easy to use and fairly affordable. Catch the monuments at dusk, they're mesmerizing... My favorite was the Thomas Jefferson memorial, and the Korean War Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial, and the Martin Luther King Memorial, actually all of them. Plan a day, bring a picnic, definitely recommend.
Brandon Gremillion — Google review
So much to learn here. Monuments to some of the world's most influential figures, and more world class museums than you can possibly see in one trip. Friendly, clean, and safe, with ice cream trucks in absurd abundance!
Pete Trevino — Google review
The place is for FREE! And a must visit if you're in Washington DC! Several monuments can be visited in here and it's walkable!
SHAME on those visitors who just simply leaves their trashes! Don't leave your trashes but leave only good memories!
jErUmB bAdGeRs — Google review
Museums here are awesome, best of all it's free. We went to the National Museum of Natural History, looking at giant fossils and animal displays, also the smallest and most expensive diamonds.
There are a lot of food trucks around too. Their cheese steak are superb, beef is tender and flavorful.
Donny Gochuico (DGoch) — Google review
One of the gem 💎 of DC. This has history, nature, tranquility and peace all in one area. Walk as much as you want, sit as long as you want and play until dark on the sprawling grass. You can watch the beautiful sunset as well when the weather is good. Fall and Spring are the best time to enjoy nature here
Premangshu Saha — Google review
It's pretty, but it's boring with nothing to do but observe and be struck with the beauty of the capital city of the 19th best country on Earth. It feels a lot like being surrounded by giant tombstones. Anyway, the food vendors here are the worst rip off in the city, the Metro station is too far away, and the lack of public bathrooms is legit absurd
Aaron Mittelmeier — Google review
The park rangers were really helpful and polite. Aside from the construction the grounds are really nicely maintained, considering all the traffic they get. And the cherry blossom festival is absolutely beautiful.
ben cross — Google review
It is simply amazing to be in one spot where you can take a Sunday stroll around a beautiful lake and blooming orchard of trees while seeing some of the most important and stunning monuments in the world! I only wish I had more time on my visit to simply walk around and take in the sights. I got to visit mid-morning on a Thursday in early March so the crowds were not bad at all.
Warman Hall — Google review
The Mall is a great place to see the best of DC. It can be a bit busy with tourist but it's still beautiful with a great mix between museums, architecture, manicure grass, monuments, memories, food trucks, traffic and people visiting from around the world.
Jamaine Granger — Google review
This is beautiful and well taken care of. The grass is green and clean, the whole area feels airy and not crowded. It looks bigger on a map than it really is, you can go around the whole national mall seeing all memorials in about 2-3 hours. Just note that buses don’t reach some areas.
There are also several restrooms around which is greatly appreciated, as well as little overpriced shops that offer refreshments.
Rodrigo De Luna — Google review
We were absolutely enraptured from this beautiful place. We enjoyed the wide open space, the plenty of green and the incredible number of museums and memorials. It's great going by bike (bike rental from capital bikes).
Elena Sturm — Google review
The monument has tickets opening at 10am am sold out at 10:01am. So best to have the fastest fingers around
The view is really good from the monument and during fall, actually take a top view to find the best fall trees 😂
The reflection pool and Capitol is well seen towards the evening
Durvank Yewle — Google review
A great place for early spring or late fall to avoid massive crowds. Too many museums to name and great food options abound. History, current events. Architecture. Great sights all await on this visit.
Jeff Kincius — Google review
This is part of the Honor Flight I was honored to attend as the Guardian for my Father. Korean War Vet.
Words can not express the emotion or the overall experience this day was. To watch so many be there to support all the Vets that day was unbelievable. I will never forget this.
Brad Simpson — Google review
Highly recommend visiting DC and the memorials/landmarks in late March / early April for the best weather! Plus the cherry blossoms are stunning! Try to go early weekday mornings to avoid the crowds.
Lindsey Robinson — Google review
GORGEOUS especially in Spring- I'm a DC Native and the Springtime view on the Mall never disappoints! Highly recommend for touring, be it as a photographer, love of festivals or for the close proximity to Museums, culture and restaurants. Hope you'll check it out.
StrongCurvyFit Fitness, Family & Wellness Advocate — Google review
The entire “mall” was amazing. There were so many great views and museums to visit. Like any tourist location, I would recommend a weekday… but that also has its drawbacks. There are some school tours of some museums during school time.
Jarrod Dibble — Google review
The cherry blossom festival is amazing! I would highly recommend coming here during this time of year! The cherry blossoms add to the Mall's scenic ambience.
Nicholas Schweifler — Google review
The National Mall, a beautifully landscaped park in the heart of Washington, D.C., is nestled near the downtown area of the United States capital city. This iconic park is home to a plethora of cultural attractions, including Smithsonian Institution museums, art galleries, cultural institutions, and numerous memorials, sculptures, and statues. The National Park Service (NPS), under the United States Department of the Interior, expertly manages the National Mall as part of the National Mall and Memorial Parks unit within the National Park System.

Rating: ★★★★★
A spontaneous two-day trip to the National Mall in D.C. was a mesmerizing experience. The Washington Monument's observation deck offered breathtaking views of iconic landmarks. Walking the Mall, surrounded by history and war memorials, was both reflective and inspiring. The accessibility and rich heritage make it a perfect short getaway, seamlessly connecting visitors to America's past and present.

Haven't been on this tour since I was a kid! We used hop-on / Hop Off tour bus and had a great time! Miss Behaven😉 was a great tour guide!
The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is a memorial museum in Washington DC that tells the story of the Nazi genocide of Jews during World War II. The exhibits are not allowed to be viewed by young kids, but there is a separate section which displays narratives from children about the Holocaust.
The Holocaust is one of those historic atrocities that we shouldn’t forget. This memorial is well thought out, planned and kept. Come with time to spare because there is lots to see, learn and explore. Find the password before you hop in the elevator and start your journey as a Jew prisoner.

We have been looking forward to visiting this museum for years, so our expectations were quite high. (History teacher.) The museum itself is quite well done, however, the crowds inside were almost unbearable, so it was extremely difficult to read much of the information. I love that the museum is so popular, as I believe everyone needs the lessons that it teaches, but it seems that the crowds could be better managed considering you have to book a timed entry. The crowd should have been at least halved from what it was. We had to skip large sections of the exhibition simply because the crowds were so deep. Still, even with the stress of the large crowd, the museum is hugely impactful and we appreciated the level of respect that most guests displayed and the atmosphere that the museum successfully cultivates. We recommend viewing the additional exhibit, Americans and the Holocaust, which is on the bottom floor.
Nikki Varnell — Google review
Beautifully moving display with enormous amounts of education. Definitely worth the visit. Shoe display was removed when we visited.
Timed tickets required upon visit. $1 processing fee for each ticket.
Emily Evans — Google review
This museum is so FULL of information, we wanted to read/watch it all. We loved everything inside except the people. Even though we had timed entry tickets, there were so many people at some points we couldn’t even move. So many school groups with rude teenagers running around with a piece of paper for an assignment, I imagine. They would stand in the way of what you were trying to read, or bump into you, etc. It made it hard to see everything with so much chaos. We were there 3 hours and could have easily spent another hour, I feel like we had to rush through the last part because we had timed entry somewhere else. I recommend all DC visitors come here!
Megan Chandler — Google review
Timed entry is smart. So much to read and do. I appreciate that the most sensitive material was optional to view and out of sight unless it was your choice to watch certain sensitive videos. Very informative. Enjoyed the walk thru path through time to get info in chronological order. I liked that the history was honest. Loved the photos. Daniels Story was my favorite part (and didn’t even require tickets- so see that at least if you’re unable to get tickets). Well done.
Jessica Cummings — Google review
As I'm Polish this was must to see museum. I was very pleased with the layout and information. You don't feel good once leaving this place but that's what you should feel... Holocaust is a fact that should make us thinking!
Karol Dabrowski — Google review
What an amazing and moving memorial and museum. I thought I knew a lot about the Holocaust prior but I learned so much more and the photos and names and preserved items were such incredibly respectful tributes to those people lost. I felt it was very very in depth, but depends on how much you process Ave available. Many school groups were just filing through rather rapidly. Especially important was how quickly(LESS than 6 months and Hilter had complete control) the Nazis took over everything. We actually could have stayed longer than the 5-6 hours we were there but had reservations to be elsewhere. I tend to look, watch and read as much as is offered since this may be my first and only visit to DC. I wish we had planned at least a full day here. It's bigger than it looks. We found a very good selection on books for purchase in the store. Helpful staff.
Elizabeth — Google review
Throughly enjoyed my visit. It was pretty busy when we came but the crowds thin out a little depending on how fast or slow you read everything. Make sure to read only one page from the identification card for each floor in the main exhibit. The pages have dates on the top that correspond with the floor.
Nicole Adams — Google review
It was a pretty good exhibition. The design it's like a concentration camp and you can go walk for the hall seeing how it started everything. I loved so much the design of the lifts because it was like the gates of horns. I loved the thematic.
I recommend you to choose morning hours because in the afternoon there are A LOT of people.
Diana M?rquez — Google review
This was probably one of the most deep and sensitive experiences iv ever had. I'm a very visual person I can read all day but I'm better with seeing, and they didn't miss the mark with this one. It was amazing and beautiful and I didn't realize his bad it was untill I actually got to see all the visuals to help me understand what really happen.
Bryant Peoples — Google review
Every breathing American should experience this museum. It’s haunting, disturbing, and straight-forward. What’s even more sad, is that the story that leads to the Holocaust parallels the same rhetoric a certain current cult leader uses to control his blinded followers. It’s a quiet, solemn place. The only noise was from the occasional middle school field trip that plowed through. Take your time though and be warned before you watch any video screen hiding behind a wall.
Jeff Mraz — Google review
It's a grate place to see and learn more about holocoust. A grate place to remind ourselves of how lucky we are to be born when we were and have what we have! Be ready to spend a long time in there, there are TV's and lots of reading required. Buy tickets in advance and do not bring any scissors or sharp objects. The museum security is stricter than any other museums.
Yelena Panasyuk — Google review
Truly an experience that cannot be put into words. The museum offers various displays, artifacts, and media that offer a mere glimpse into what went on during the Holocaust. The layout is easy to follow and I'd expect to spend at least 3 hours there. I would like to say that the museum is great for all ages, but I feel that it's really something that you need to truly appreciate and it's difficult to do if you're young. Something important to note: with COVID you'll need to reserve a timed entry pass online ahead of time. I recommend booking at least one month in advance, but if you're lucky you can snag one of the passes that they make available at 7am each day. I highly highly recommend visiting!
Collin Bowser — Google review
One of the very few museums in DC that requires a ticket. Tickets are not easily acquired. I was lucky and was able to obtain one of the few made available 'on the day of'. E tickets can be shown on your phone a few minutes before the scheduled time. The tour experience begins by choosing 'papers' and then a group is taken by elevator to the top floor to begin a chronological history of the Holocaust. Again I felt lucky. One of our "group" was 97 year old WW II veteran who was there when the Allies liberated camps. He was happy to talk about his experience and give additional thoughts on what was in the museum. This is not just about concentration camps. There are maps and newspaper displays. There are videos of this ugly time in history. The hall of photos (shown) the railcar, the German language iron sign "work shall set you free". POWERFUL. The final stops of the museum were Daniel's story and The Hall of Remembrance.
Lee Pandiani — Google review
It was busy! Get your timed-entry passes early. As in before you leave for your trip. They do open up a limited amount of tickets at 7am on day of. We got lucky and made it into the cue and got tickets before they were gone. It’s only $1 per ticket processing fee. It is just a timed ticket to keep down the crowds and you will be glad for it! We moved slowly through reading and looking at everything. We needed a minute to process it all after leaving. This is NOT a place for young children. However, they do have sensitive material displayed behind walls that small children cannot see over.
Julie Butterworth — Google review
I have always been drawn to the Holocaust. I read any book I can get my hand on about it and the same with documentaries. Coming here brought all I read into life. To see everything they have is moving and so terribly tragic. The images, the sounds, the stories. However, this museum is a necessity as we can never forget what happened to millions of innocent people during this time period. Everyone should come here at least once in their life. We brought our kids, 8 and 11, and they were moved by it and educated about it.
The only downside here were the crowds. It was so packed, even with timed entry tickets, it was hard to see and read some of the displays, which seems to defeat the purpose of having timed entry tickets. BUT, it is still a must go place in DC.
Lauren Delgado — Google review
One of the best museums in the country. Very moving and informative. If you really want the full experience plan on about 3 hours. Watch the videos. READ EVERYTHING! Go through "Daniel's" child friendly walk through exhibit. You will see pure evil and wonder how this ever could have happened. The Jewish people that endured this incomprehensible wrong stand as witnesses of fortitude and faith. May their families be blessed forever.
Dennis Boots — Google review
The place is a must visit for everybody. It's so important that we see and hear what happened and all the events that lead to it. This museums layout is extremely well done, and you will never forget the survivors' stories and what you will see.
Yasamin Mikhchi — Google review
This memorial is crowded. You do need to get tickets in advance but they are free. This memorial shares just about every detail you could think of during the Holocaust. Very educational on the things that unfolded during this time. Restrooms are available on every floor.
Mindy Garland — Google review
One of the most interesting and touching museums I've ever visited, and it was totally free!!! Definitely, worth the visit and the time. It's something that you will remember forever.
Yurima Olivera — Google review
This was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. As someone with jewish roots, I can definitely say we should never forget so we never repeat. The museum is so important and well thought out. Every exhibit exudes history, stories, and sentiment.
Please reserve in time since the only way to see the actual Holocaust exhibit is with free tickets online! So I would highly recommend reserving ahead of your trip and I would also suggest if you’re in town and can’t reserve anymore, the museum releases tickets every day at 7:00 am ET. Don’t miss this one in a lifetime experience!
Cristian Hernandez — Google review
You have to go if you’re visiting Washington DC, it’s absolutely stunning, the images, the stories, the videos. As soon as you get in, you get an id card representing a specific person who lived during the holocaust. The museum gets you immersed in the history. It’s a 2-4 hours visit , $2 ticket , totally worth the visit. It will change your perspective about life , showing you how lucky we are today.
Jorge Luis Díaz — Google review
This is a difficult place to rate. It is such an engaging experience and something I think everyone should go to at least once in their lifetime. That being said, it is also hauntingly sad. If you truly read and see all there is here, you will not leave unmoved.
Angela Ocheltree — Google review
I love this museum. I visited this museum each time I am in DC to never forget. This museum has the best collection of holocaust information in the US and second in the world after Yad Vashem in Israel. I visited both, and it is worth it. The entrance is free, but you need to book a time slot in advance to get a free ticket. Even if you don't have a ticket, they have a few free movies to watch and a few free exhibitions to see.
Vadim Rojevsky — Google review
A very sad experience. However there are a few things to know. The security staff are rude and very unfriendly. I understand they have many people to deal with but talking to people like they are stupid is not the answer. You need to get tickets before you go, they are free, however you must go online to reserve them. You will have a reserved time to go in, however if you get there early you can go to information desk and get sooner tickets if you are a veteran, service member or federal employee.
There is a lot of reading and it is very somber. There are 4 floors of exhibits and you should take the time to try and see everything. It is crowed even though people are allowed in in waves.
Alicia Sholtz — Google review
Everyone should visit this place at least once in their life. You will leave a different person. It's our history that is never talked about and no one teaches. The learning is so impactful that you will walk around with chills the entire time and people are weeping throughout the place at what you learn. A MUST, once in a lifetime experience that changes your life.
Tina Ingram — Google review
From the architecture to the exhibits, this museum is a haunting reminder of the horror of the Holocaust. My wife and I, along with our 14 year-old son spent a little more than 2 hours...in total silence. Educational. Eye-opening. Horrifying. And very saddening. Well worth your time and attention.
Mark Telerico — Google review
Absolutely incredible. I feel like everyone has a personal responsibility to at very least understand what actually happened to 6 million innocent people. So much new information and so many artifacts. Be ready to spend hours there before you even realize it. They have done an amazing job with this museum.

The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History is the most visited natural history museum in the world, with 127 million items on display. The museum features rotating exhibits, including a Deep Time exhibit that takes guests back millions of years and showcases specimens such as dinosaur fossils.
Free museum. Great for kids. Lots of interesting exhibits. I went during Cherry Blossom 🌸 peak week so it was pretty crowded on a Saturday. I spent 3+ hours exploring. There’s 3 floors. Definitely recommend. There something for everyone.
Luke Chang — Google review
I had never been in a museum as amazing as this one; it's amazing, they have so many things to see; dinosaur fossils are the best, my three year old daughter enjoyed it very much, she has not stopped talking about it in the last two days. We went on a Sunday and it was quite long but it is not overwhelming because it is very big place, there was enough space to see and do things. the museum is very interactive, it has so many things to learn, a single day is not enough to learn about so many things. It has easy access for strollers and wheelchairs, there are multiple elevators, several shops for souvenirs and gifts, it has a very nice cafe area. you won't get bored here. In addition, everything is super clean and it is totally free. When you enter the museum you go through a lot of security but the process is fast.
Sussan Annais H. Cartaya — Google review
It is an amazing museum for kids who are eager to learn new things. This museum is a full day visit there is lots of knowledge to grasp and one can learn about a lot of things here. I had a limited time, but would love to visit this place again and spend enough time in each section by going through all the information one by one. I personally liked the fossil lab , where you could actually see individuals cleaning the Fossils, drawing images of fossils. It was a really amazing experience overall. I wish I had more time.
Yuthika Shekhar — Google review
Once you’ve been to a couple of Natural History museums you’ve pretty much seen them all. This has the usual fossil and animal collections, but I’d say they’re very well organized and the exhibits seem designed with intent.
They have some really nice fossils although it’s hard to determine how many replicas they have instead of the real thing.
Their animal collection is also pretty good and the exhibits include plenty of useful information.
Definitely a good option if you have kids or you like nature. Safe to skip if you’ve been to more than one similar museums elsewhere.
Rodrigo De Luna — Google review
Very nice museum, interesting and informative also free. The amazing world of the ocean, animals, space, dinosaurs, butterflies, crystals and much more. It was also very interesting for us to see how man developed, a very good story about our past ancestors, cool statues. We were there for more than two hours, it was not enough because every square centimeter in this museum is very interesting and worth attention. My children ran and it was impossible to stop them, especially in the underwater world, various fish, octopuses, corals, turtles and others. We also really liked in the world of dinosaurs. The museum itself is very clean, spacious and interesting. We drank coffee in the museum cafe, ate delicious desserts, but the prices are quite high, even very high, but that's everyone's choice) We liked everything and we are very satisfied))

My visit to the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History was a total treasure hunt of knowledge and wonder. Its vast exhibits, from the iconic Hope Diamond to the lifelike dinosaur displays, offer a captivating exploration of Earth's history and biodiversity. The museum's interactive exhibits make learning a fun and engaging experience for visitors of all ages. The attention to detail and the depth of information provided showcase the museum's commitment to education and scientific discovery. With free admission, it's a fantastic destination for anyone with an interest in the natural world. Perhaps I need to go there one more time to cover some more corners of the great museum.

We had a great time! There was no wait to get in, even with security screenings at the door. It was quite crowded both days we visited, but we were still able to see every exhibit in a reasonable amount of time. Masks are required throughout the building, but that was no issue for us. My 7 and 10yo LOVED all the exhibits and were blown away every time we rounded a corner. I highly recommend it if you're in DC!

An amazing (free) experience that was tons of fun for all of us and we all left smarter. Plan to spend at least 2 hours if you want to see most of the exhibits. If you want to read and learn about the exhibits it, allot at least 3 hours.
They do have restaurants inside, ample restrooms and a nice gift shop.
Our favorite exhibits were neanderthals exhibits and ancient animals, especially the dinosaur skeletons. They have many real looking animal exhibits, and detailed scientific background on them which was fun to learn.

I've been to this museum on numerous trips to DC and it is always a highlight of our trip. This time we went back in order to avoid some rain. They thankfully are no longer doing times ticket entry, so it was a smooth entrance. Be forewarned there will probably always be a school group or five visiting, but the 3 floors of exhibits allow for you to mostly avoid crowds. I obviously wouldn't recommend going on the weekend if you don't like kids, but the weekday not on a school break is doable.
The exhibits are well done and will have something for everyone. From bodies and bones to fish and other animals, you will dive into the world of nature. Over time, taxidermy does start to show it's age so in the near future some of the animals may need to be redone or repaired, but in the grand scheme of things they are still holding strong.
The bathrooms are mostly clean. It depends on what time you go of course, but with school groups they can quickly get dirty. The staff is very pleasant upon entry and are used to big crowds. They still run everything smoothly with such a large turnout.
I'll continue to go when I am in downtown DC as I feel like you learn something new every time.

I love this museum. Everything is quality, everything is clean. And the entry lines are fast - so (Pro Tip) if you need to use the restroom but are wary of Port-O-Potties, you can get in and out quick, despite a bag check. There is also a cafe with pretty much everything you could want to eat and it's not too expensive for the area. Plus, the ice cream trucks outside are so nice on a hot day. Beware: the live Butterfly exhibit is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

It was just incredible. Hope diamond was a highlight. Our kids FAVORITE was the butterflies. It is an extra ticket but totally worth it. The room is relatively small so almost everyone has a butterfly land on them. It was pure magic.
The other exhibits were fun as well. Loved the ones about gems and minerals as well as night sky. Just a big beautiful museum

Amazing hall of bones and hall of fossils, but also had a great exhibit on rocks and gems, the hall of mammals, and the sea creatures. Very interesting, learned a lot about dinosaurs and mass extinction events. You can even see in the dinosaur exhibits how many bones are casts vs real, so that was very neat. I also enjoyed watching the scientists work, one was drawing very detailed pictures of fossils, wish I could have given him a thumbs up but he was in the zone. Definitely recommend to people who like dinosaurs or bones in general.

The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History is one of the best museums in DC. A massive three-storied Victorian architecture that is filled with information about natural lives.
When planning your visit, be prepared to allocate at least four hours to fully explore..
Definitely a good option if you have kids or you like nature. Safe to skip if you’ve been to more than one similar museums elsewhere.
The museum's security process is seamless, and unlike my experience at the Air and Space Museum, personal water bottles were permitted here, a welcome relief.

Such a cool museum! Expect a crowd, it was elbow to elbow in most areas downstairs. BUT, totally worth going to. The elephant in the center of the lobby was such a cool focal point to be greeted with, and the dinosaurs are all set up perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing everything. For anyone wanting to do the butterfly exhibit, make sure you get tickets early because it is a timed ticket system and they sell out.

Nice place but fully packed over the weekend. You need at least 3 to 4 hours to look around the whole museum. Try to visit by 10 AM when the museum opens, it may be less crowded during that time. Some of the things require tickets, for instance butterfly pavilion required tickets to visit. Foods are available inside but it’s crowded.

Great museum for kids and adults. We went on the weekend and it was packed with people but we were able to move around with moderate congestion. The gift store was reasonable and there was some unique items available. For the little ones, I would bring a stroller if you’re up to pushing it because their legs will get tired. There were places to sit but they weren’t plentiful. The food court was open but we didn’t purchase anything. You can bring your own goods and water inside the museum. There is plenty to see and read for everyone. Highly recommend for families with small kids (probably 2 and up)

An amazing museum to visit. So much to discover and learn. We planned only 2-3 hours which was reasonable but not sufficient really. Kids loved various sections in the museum and so did we. A must visit if you happen to be in the Washington DC especially with kids and family. People of all ages will have things to learn and be amazed at.
And entrance was free and parking was easily available 💕

You can skim a majority of the museum and get lost in a single branch for a long time. Well worth the price (free)! Gift shop is a bit smelly, but I usually don't go to them anyway. Overall, the exhibits are top-notch and there are a lot that offer to touch the exhibit. Great time with the family and time well spent.

The Smithsonian Natural History Museum undoubtedly ranks among the finest museums I've ever visited. A treasure trove of exhibits awaits, catering to diverse interests, from dinosaurs and early hominids to safari animals, aquatic life, minerals, meteors, and even the famed Hope Diamond.
Plan on dedicating a minimum of 4 hours to thoroughly explore the majority of exhibits, even at a brisk pace. It's important to note that reading every single detail may be a tall order within this time frame. Approach your visit with a clear plan, focusing on the topics that resonate most with you and your companions. Don't miss the chance to engage with the educational videos on offer and take occasional breaks to rest your feet.
The museum's security process is seamless, and unlike my experience at the Air and Space Museum, personal water bottles were permitted here, a welcome relief. All in all, the Smithsonian Natural History Museum guarantees an enriching and immersive experience that leaves a lasting impression.

This family-friendly museum is open and free to the public. No tickets or timed entry required. You can easily spend hours here. It's very informative, fun, and educational. Everything from rocks, minerals, gemstones, bones, birds, bees, mummies, to butterflies. There's plenty of food options in the museum, and vendor food trucks right outside. This is a great option for a rainy day or to beat the heat on a hot day.

Really cool museum, and definitely family friendly. They have a range of exhibits so there is sure to be something for everyone. My wife and I really enjoyed the Gems and Minerals exhibit. Biggest issue is the crowd. We went on a weekday and the place was still pretty crowded. They really should have timed entry passes like other museums in the area.

The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History is a must see and an amazing museum for kids who are eager to learn new things. This museum takes a while to explore (around 3-4 hours) with all the interesting exhibits spread throughout the building. There are many facts and information in one place which makes it very impressive. The entry was free and there was no need for tickets. Overall, we had an amazing experience and hope to come back soon with more time.
Asher McCoul — Google review
It's a bit of a mixed bag. It's free, so the price is great, the queues to get in can be long but they move quick so that's good. There's a bunch of really nice exhibits, and some that are fairly rare, the Hope diamond for instance, and the pretty good collection of dinosaur skeletons, and skeletons in general actually. There are two issues, first, it's very busy so be prepared to take your time, be patient as others want to look and take photos and read the info panels etc.
Secondly, there doesn't seem to be any natural flow to the layout that we could figure out. This means you can bounce around a bit and not be entirely sure you've seen all the galleries. We noticed this immediately, and heard others comment about it on our way around.
Look, they're minor issues, it was great fun, we love museums, and this one is pretty good. It's just I think it's worth while knowing about so you can do some research before hand, and/or have the right expectations.

In DC I loved this museum, especially I saw a huge Elephant that is at the entrance to the museum. It offers many things to look at and learn. My favorite area was the sea area, where I saw a hanging whale and different types of big fish. The funniest thing I saw was a monkey holding an iPhone and taking pictures. I recommend coming to this museum.

My family and I have gone a few times. We went again last week. Of course, I failed to remember its spring break and tourist season 😵💫😅 soooo it was actually quite packed on top of which there's very limited places to take a load off to sit down. Side note, I do like how efficient the cafeteria area on the main floor is. Folks usually recognize that space is limited and eat promptly to clear a space for the next person. OH AND I DID LOSE MY RING!! AND WHEN I CALLED NO ONE RETURNED. I'LL ADD A PIC.

This place is UNBELIEVABLE! There is plenty of room for families with strollers, large groups, easy access to bathrooms, charging for phones, food and rest areas, gift shops, multiple elevators, and more.
As far as the attractions, there is none better in the USA. Every type of the animals of the world are here and you are educated constantly. The lighting and signage is perfect. Kids can see everything from their vantage point so there’s no need to lift them constantly like at most zoos and museums.
The gem exhibit on the 2nd floor is truly one-of-a-kind, featuring the Hope Diamond. You can get about 8” away and there are dozens more examples to enjoy from hundreds of years ago and most continents.
The Fossil Exhibit will blow your mind, and has so much more than just dinosaurs and extinct animals. They have a live lab showing real experts removing bones from rock and using high tech equipment like laser imaging to find animal parts in rock.
You really must make this building a top stop from all the other museums in the city. You can spend all day here or half a day like I did and be constantly amazed.

Definitely a must see! Not only is it free to get in but there is so much to do You don't have to do anything else with your entire day! Use a parking app to find the best parking rate. There is accessibility for strollers. The food in the food courts is decently priced and actually very tasty.

Did not have enough time to see this place even though we had about 5 hours. We're able to see the first floor pretty well but we'll have to come back to see the second floor. Did not realize that all the museums closed at 5:30. The security and all were nice but firm about making everybody leave.
Came back the next day and still didn't have enough time. We were able to do the upstairs exhibits in about 3 to 4 hours but it was not enough time to really see detail and see everything.

The National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. is home to one of the world's finest collections of Western art. The museum has two buildings on the National Mall, one dating from the neoclassical era and the other from the modern era Mies van der Rohe designed. There are paintings and sculptures by Old Masters and their more contemporary contemporaries, making this an ideal place to explore a variety of different styles.
AWESOME art. Absolutely unbelievable to witness these masterpieces in real life. I was astonished by the gift shop as well. Most people that know me know that I LOVE gift shops, and this one was definitely one of my new favorites. It had all the different art related things a person could think of. Absolutely would recommend this gallery to any art lover.

This is an extremely expansive art gallery, with multiple levels and two different buildings. You could easily spend hours here and not see it all. There is really something for everyone who likes art or history. There are amazing paintings and sculptures from every time period. I appreciate that there are benches to sit many different places. There are fountains with plants, a water fountain that goes behind a glass wall downstairs in the Cafe, and twinkle lights over a moving sidewalk. Restrooms are available on each floor. Food and drink is limited to the cafes. You can bring your own food and drink if it's closed in your bag. You do go through a metal detector upon entry and are subject to a bag search, but that was a speedy process for us. I especially enjoyed the impressionists art- Degas and Monet in particular. There is currently a photography and a furniture exhibit as well. The sculpture garden is worth walking through outside, and it is fun to go to the top tower level and see the Big blue rooster and city view. It was not crowded, even though we were there on a holiday.

Fantastic art museum. I didn’t expect it, but they a wonderful exhibit on northern renaissance painters. The highlight of the museum is easily Thomas Cole’s The Voyage of Life set. I came on a Saturday before the Fourth of July and it had some people inside, but to my surprise it was not overly busy. 5/5.

Absolutely stunning museum with an expansive collection of art. The collection offered here is truly stunning and outstanding. All facilities, exhibits, and sanctuaries within the gallery are meticulously arranged and decorated beautifully. All staff I encountered were incredibly kind and knowledgeable. When I visited, certain rooms were being renovated (I believe the impressionist rooms). A very kind staff member at an information desk marked a map where certain pieces of art I wanted to see had been relocated. She also suggested I download the National Gallery of Art app which had information about all the art, and recommended free tours offered by the museum. Overall, this is an excellently beautiful museum in DC with an expansive collection that anyone who enjoys viewing art will absolutely love.

The National Gallery of Art is a great stop for any history or art lover. Boasting many different paintings from the biggest artists, the gallery is expansive and well-curated. I spent a couple of hours here and could easily have spent more time here. I would recommend planning ahead to locate the galleries that are a must-see for you, as after a couple of hours, it's easy to get fatigued by how many pieces there are.
For history lovers, check out the presidential portraits by Gilbert Stuart and the famous painting of Marie Antoinette. I also recommend touring the galleries on the lower floor, where there are beautiful Degas and Rodin sculptures and early Colonial furniture.

My favorite place on museum row. Plenty of gorgeous art and it takes a solid three hours to even glimpse it all. The cafe is lovely for a sit and think, but I prefer finding a secluded gallery and bringing a book. All free and great views. Always use this as an escape from the city. Plenty of Monet, Van Gogh, and Degas.

I don't think it is possible to convey how much incredible art exists in this museum through a simple review.
My best advice when attending: listen to the museum staff who give you a map and make suggestions on what to see. Explore your way to those suggestions and you'll find so many amazing pieces. Give yourself lots of time.

This museum is like Louvre on steroids. Not one Monet but 50. Not 10 Picassos but 100. Great selection of American modern art. I was highly surprised by the quality of the works presented as well as by the sheer size of the place. I recommend at least 4 hours to visit. The best part - it is free!

Free entry. No slot booking needed. We visited here on two mornings and went to Space museum on evenings. Stunningly beautiful art. I would recommend getting a map and visiting the galleries in reverse order. Galleries are often chronologically ordered, and modern artwork is much better compared to 15/16 centuries artwork. There were also few artists who were recreating paintings. Food is pricey.

Absolutely must visit if you love art and it's FREE! I saw a Davinci painting for the first time here with nobody around. It's very peaceful. There's also a FREE baggage deposit area so don't worry about your coats and bags.
You can get a free map that will allow you to go through each section based on the era of the paintings. You can easily spend a whole day here. So many things to see. Additionally there's also an amazing free audio guide under some paintings that you can listen to which is fantastic.
There's also another floor under dedicated to sculptures which is also very interesting.
There's free WiFi in the premises. Also souvenir shops and food place. Plus, it's also next to the Smithsonian museum so you can see both in one day.

My visit to the National Gallery of Art left me with mixed feelings. While I appreciated some interesting sculptures and beautiful drawings, the overall experience was just okay.
The highlight was undoubtedly the encounter with a rare treasure – the Chalice from the Middle Ages, once used in the Mass. The guard, who was friendly and knowledgeable, shared a captivating story and history behind this unique artifact.
Although the general experience was not stellar, the chance to learn about the Chalice made the visit worthwhile. If you're a history enthusiast, the stories behind these treasures might make your trip more memorable.
The Newseum is an interactive museum dedicated to free speech and the history of communication. Visitors can experience being a television reporter, explore a life-like newsroom, and engage with real-life reporting dilemmas to understand media ethics. The museum is set to relocate from its current location at 555 Pennsylvania Avenue NW by the end of 2019, making way for Johns Hopkins University in a $372.5 million deal.
Newseum, starts with a tacky name - museum of news, but the moment you step inside, it takes your breath away! With your first view inside, you can feel that this place is going to be a walk of immersive and tech savvy experiences. Straight on Floor 1, there is an exhibit of Pulitzer prize winning pictures over decades, that have brought to world stories of joy, stories of despair, stories of hope, stories of hopelessness! By the time I was done with this exhibit, I was deeply moved, and immensely thankful to the role media plays in our society and democracy. The journey continues to exhibits on Berlin Wall, FBI, Martin Luther King, ...
Newseum truly serves on it's mission of being a bearer of free speech, supporting First Amendment, and tracing the journey of media. It's a must go to - wakes you up to how we need to fight for this, specially on today's climate of 'Fake News'!
The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum is a popular museum that features both permanent and changing exhibits about aviation and space exploration. Permanent exhibits include displays of vehicles from the Wright Brothers to Apollo 11, while changing exhibitions focus on a variety of science, history, and technology topics related to aviation and space flight. Family activities are offered regularly at the museum, including free look through the museums giant telescopes for young visitors.
I'm very grateful that I had a chance to visit this amazing Museum. Being able to see the remaining from the Apollo 11 mission and the landing on the moon, makes me very happy. This museum has very much to offer, plenty of airplanes and rockets, lot of history from the development of aircrafts. You can definitely learn a lot and be entertained. All of this incredible aeronautical history for free! The Smithsonian museums are such a gift. We went with our 4 kids aged 6 to 12 and they all had a great time. There’s something for everyone whether you’re a total science enthusiast or someone who doesn’t normally have much interest in this kind of thing. This is just a great family friendly activity. And did I mention that like all the Smithsonian museums at the National Mall, the museum is free?!

One of my son’s favorite museums! We had timed tickets for 2 and arrived at 215. It was only a 10 min casual walk from the Hilton at L’Enfant Plaza. About half of the museum is closed for renovations so I didn’t expect to need much time. I was so wrong. We saw two 25 min films in the planetarium (arrive early and sit in the back, you’ll be looking straight up) and for 2 adults and a jr ticket with military discount it was a little over $40. That ended at 325, leaving us with 2 hours and we were rushing to try to get glimpses of each room and the biggest attractions. The cafe closed at 5 so I didn’t see that, but we went to the gift shop 15 min before closing and lemme tell you, and 530- they are pushing you out the door. Politely, but no exceptions. I definitely feel like we left with no regrets. But I’d probably skip the movie, or plan for at least 4 hours.

I'm an aerospace engineer so I'm biased but my non aerospace friends say that this is the best Smithsonian (better than the natural history museum). I definitely agree. The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., is a soaring tribute to humanity's age-old dream of flight and our relentless pursuit of the skies and beyond. Earning a well-deserved 5 stars, this museum encapsulates the very essence of human innovation and the boundless spirit of exploration.
From the delicate wings of the Wright brothers' pioneering aircraft to the robust structure of the Space Shuttle Discovery, the museum charts a captivating journey of progress, risk, and innovation. Each exhibit tells a story — tales of ingenuity, determination, and sometimes, breathtaking audacity.
Beyond just the hardware, the museum dives deep into the narratives of the men and women who dared to dream, to push boundaries, and to venture into the great unknown. It's awe-inspiring to stand in the presence of these machines and realize the leaps and bounds air and space travel have taken in just over a century.
For anyone with even a fleeting interest in flight, space, or the boundless potential of human endeavor, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum is a must-visit. It's not just a collection of artifacts, but a testament to how far we've come and a nod to the endless possibilities of where we might go next.

While visiting, I found that more than half of the venue was under construction, which was a bit disappointing. However, the accessible portions were quite fascinating. The exhibit provided a comprehensive journey through the history of aviation, starting from the Wright Brothers’ early airplanes and progressing to modern super-fast jets. The variety of unique exhibitions added to the intrigue, showcasing various aspects of aeronautical advancements. Additionally, there was an interesting section dedicated to the history of sports in the U.S., which was an unexpected but enjoyable inclusion.

Absolutely incredible! The exhibits have so much info presented in a fun and engaging way. They cater to people with disabilities as well! There are visual, audio, and tactile exhibits. There are parts of planes that you can walk through, and an incredible planetarium experience (which cost us $9 each, and so worth it). I didn't know we needed to get tickets in advance until the morning of, but they release tickets throughout the day. I got online for the afternoon release at 12:30, and easily secured 4 tickets for my group. We spent about 3 hours inside. We looked at everything at least briefly, but we could certainly go back again to read all everything more in depth. During our visit they were in the process of expanding, so I can only imagine how much more there will be to see when that's done. I will say it was pretty busy, but we didn't have to wait in any long lines. 10/10 museum, I would go again!

What a great museum in the city to enjoy. If you love history and space, you should definitely check out the museum. A lot of exhibits were closed, however there was still plenty to do including watching the Discovery launch, touching a piece of the moon, reading about what happens to your body when you go to space, seeing space toilets, and different countries astronaut gear. There is an interactive exhibit where you can choose to ride in a space ship and complete a VR( virtual reality) experience, fly your own craft or ride a roller coaster… the prices for this ranged from $8.00 to $12.00 per person. Don’t forget to stop by the gift shop and get your very own space suit, hat or mission patches for your backpack!! No tickets are required, however we waited an hour and a half in line to get into the museum.

Possibly the most extraordinary museum in the world, I would think this museum alone a worthy destination of the transatlantic trip but the entire experience is brought low by the way in which it is currently managed.
The refurbishment that’s currently underway limits the awe factor but it’s still there.
About 8 rooms, four of these are above-average quality of content but the space related rooms and Moon exploration are quite simply extraordinary. The objects are wonderfully exhibited and you often sense that you are in a world-class, premiere museum.
Despite that, I couldn’t quite rise above the experience of passing through the Smithsonian facility on a busy, rainy day. Access to seating is very limited given the size of the crowd; it was very difficult to get overpriced food and a struggle to find the space to eat it (I gave up). The museum store/shop is very large but very expensive.
Entry to the museum is currently allotted by the hour and we joined a block-long line in the rain with tickets that required being booked two months in advance. Attendant staff seemed passive and tired or just grumpy, while the few curatorial staff we encountered seemed somewhat overwhelmed by the crowd.
The collection here is unique and inspirational , containing touchstones of the most inspirational moments in human history, but limited by the exhibition space and feels cramped. Sharing that space with such a crowd is tiring.
I brought my children for my first return since I was a child in 1982 and I often struggled to maintain enthusiasm. We enjoyed the Udvar-Hazy facility much more.
Stephen Henihan — Google review
I give this 5 stars for being free but it would get 4 if I had to pay to enter due to the fact that you cannot enter even a minute before your scheduled time and it took 7 minutes in a queue before we could enter the building. Standing in line in the brutal sun is no joke. I highly recommend coming 20 or more minutes after your entrance time (you can come up to an hour later). The other issue is that there are very few places to sit. Saw lots of people sitting on the floor.
Aside from these negatives, it's a great little museum. 1-2 hours is plenty of time to see everything and read tons and tons. I enjoyed reading the brief period of the Wright brothers' success and their home life.
Large gift store inside and even a place to get personalized dog tags. A few interactive exhibits but not a ton for younger kids.
One last thing, make sure to reserve in advance! Our whole weekend here in DC was during a very unbusy weekend but this place was packed and sold out.

Museum is free but definitely reverse a ticket in advance. The line was out the door and around the block at opening time, so don't be surprised if you have to wait. It moves very fast, though. Very interesting history on aviation from the first plane flown by the wright brothers to modern day planes and drones. The "space" section definitely was smaller but no less fascinating with parts from a real exploded rocket, models of Mars rovers, and a lot of interesting signage on the mysteries of the universe and quirks of our solar system. One of the most popular Smithsonian museums and I can see why, however I don't think you need to spend all day here. 3 hours is enough time.

The Air and Space Museum offers an awe-inspiring journey through aviation history. The St. Louis and other iconic planes showcased provide a captivating glimpse into the evolution of flight. However, it's worth noting that the absence of the Blackbird and the space shuttle was a downside, leaving a notable gap in the otherwise impressive collection. Despite this, the museum remains a must-visit for aviation enthusiasts and history buffs alike.

This was by far one of the coolest things we’ve done in DC. We took our kids—ages 7, 9, 12, & 14–and we all loved it.
The biggest downsides were: (1) the day we went was super-crowded, and (2) we had already been to another museum, so we maxed out on walking around looking at exhibits faster than we would’ve if we would have started here.
There are so many exhibits and so much information. Everywhere you turn is something else intriguing. I could hardly believe that we were looking at the actual aircraft/spacecraft from stories we’ve heard about all our lives. It was truly amazing.
We especially loved the Wright Brothers’ exhibit and the entire section with space shuttles and spacesuits on display. And my husband was happy to find the Spirit of St. Louis, which was tucked away in a back corner, but a staff member graciously directed us on how we could see it.
We’d love to return and hopefully try to schedule it for a less busy time (seriously, the crowds inside were very stressful at times), but we will also make sure this is the first or only museum we do that day.
Highly, highly recommend!

This place is a blast to walk through, but since half of it is closed, I can't give it more than 3 stars. Lots of hands on things to do and still plenty of planes and aircraft to see, but you're only seeing half of what this place usually offers. Bear that in mind as the renovations are slated to take a year or more. The space exploration stuff is great and I enjoyed the early flight stuff. It's free, so it's still worth a visit, but 1-2 hours here is more than enough.

Great museum to stroll around for a few hours. As others mentioned, there are some exhibits that are closed so I wouldn't treat this place as a main attraction to visit, museum wise.
However, it is a great learning experience if your unfamiliar with USA space history and the early history of flight. Great crash course here. Definitely recommend if your in the Greater DC area.
This museum is free admission as it's your federal tax dollars hard at work. They do have donation bins throughout the museum as well if you feel inclined to contribute.

What an awesome incredible museum. So interactive and just tons to do! We spent 2 hours just walking around and seeing all the planes. Some of the coolest things are the two planes that you can walk inside and also the whole exhibit showcasing the Apollo missions.
Seriously can’t wait for the whole museum to open. It’s an absolute must do even with half open. 10 out of 10 Ill be back.

The best things I can say are. It was great that the security staff monitor the line of people waiting to get in. Air quality was awful and it was just miserable out. Thankfully they let the 2pm folks in line inside early. The planetarium was great. Like the other recent reviews say. Half or more of the museum is under construction. The upstairs exhibits for space were nice but the rest was dull and not worth it. I think the only reason they have advanced tickets is because they have so little seating for crowds wanting to avoid the heat vs the other museums

This museum is one of the best I’ve been to. There is so much history and detail in the air and space industry, but the museum does a great job of capturing a ton of it. The planes on display are a stunning work of building masterpiece. My grandfather flew the DC-3 hanging up front and center, so it was really cool to see in person and quite inspiring.

The entrance is free but it requires a reservation for a timed pass. It does not allow for an early entry. On a hot summer day, it was no fun standing in a line outside the museum for almost 20 minutes until been letting in.
Some of the exhibitions were cool. We enjoyed the early planes and inventions, flying cars, Nation of speed. Unfortunately the iMax theater was not open. And large spaces were closed due to renovations. The displaying planes were much less than I expected. We visited on Saturday which was a packed day for the museum. There were not enough sitting area. Overall it’s a nice place to visit. But I would wait for a couple more years before visiting again to have a more interesting and enhanced experience. On its website, it says the full building is expected to be open in 2026.

We visited this museum in the month of August 2023. The space museum is well maintained and has a lot of attractions. There are two different museums, if you are more interested in aircrafts and space shuttles you need to attend the other one. Remember to give enough time as they start closing the museum by 4:30, they wont allow you to walk-in to different sections after 4pm. Buying tickets in advance is recommended.
The museum has a cafeteria inside, has restrooms and water refilling stations. You need to park your cars roadside or at garage.

One of the most amazing and attractive places in Washington DC. A great place to take your family. The National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC, is an awe-inspiring tribute to aviation and space exploration. Its vast exhibits showcase historic aircraft, spacecraft, and artifacts, allowing visitors to journey through the remarkable milestones of flight and space travel. From the Wright brothers' plane to the Apollo 11 command module, it's a captivating experience for enthusiasts and curious minds alike.

Note: This museum is still undergoing renovations, and half of the museum is closed. If you have the option of waiting until it opens, I’d strongly recommend it.
Advanced tickets are also required at this location. They are free, but can be hard to get at popular times. Definitely get your tickets early if you are planning to come on a holiday or other busy time.
Finally, there’s also a Dulles location that is much larger with more exhibitions. If you’re picking between the two, I’d definitely go with the Dulles location. It’s less crowded and way cooler.

Get your online free passes in advance! It gets booked rather quickly. All the exhibitions were amazing, and there’s something for everyone. We watched Dark Universe, it was worth it (you need to get paid tickets for this area).
Accessibility was good for the most part, ramps, elevators, but with the big crowds it can get hard to walk around. Take it slow and easy and you’ll enjoy it better.
It was a memorable visit!

I liked this museum so much. It was the best in Washington. But now because of the renovation - half of the museum is closed. Additionaly 25percent of this half are museum stores.
There was little information about the booking passess. We made the booking next day exactly on 8:30 but unfortunately most of the tickets were gone in less than 1 minute for that day :(.
Still some people are not coming after making booking and Museum is not letting the other in although there are free spaces.
Dariusz Wiejaczka — Google review
Get your ticket as early as 8:30 am because the place gets jammed. Only half of the museum is open right now, but it was enough for me and my 7-year-old boy. We watched every artifact and tried every interactive screen in the museum. We touched some asteroids and meteorites. We learned about space food, astronauts, and rocket ships. We loved the planets exhibit. We spent a good 3 hours in the museum. We will come back to see the new part and the planetarium.

Reserve your tickets in advance!
We reserved our tickets at least a week ago for 3.31.2024 visit. The tickets 6 days prior to 3/31/2024 were pretty much taken except 4pm visit on 3.30.2024.
When arrived at 12:30 pm for 1pm visit, we were instructed to wait in the line till 1pm. Right next to the escalator, it has a sign said more than half of space is under renovation, so there are more to see for sure. Of course, there are lots of people on Sunday, but it is still manageable, meaning you can still pretty experience most of things; even though there is a line, people move pretty fast.

The American air and space museum is such a great place to learn and enjoy everything. There are demos done while you're walking around. You'll need to order your ticket in advance, but it's a lot of fun and a great place to take your kids. Not to mention if you love gift shops, they have 3 floors with lots of different things you can build with Legos, from astronaut food to small planes and solar systems.

Love this museum, I think it is the best out of all the Smithsonian’s. There are so many interactive exhibits and videos to watch, and they’re all spread out; so it helps keep the masses of people from being on top of each other. The reason I gave 4 stars is that I wish it was open longer! The tickets are time-entry and one of time slots is 4pm.. by the time you get in the museum you have an hour before it closes which is NOT enough time to see or do even half of what the museum has to offer. The “same-day” tickets are a joke, there’s maybe like 10 tickets available and they’re at the 4pm time slot. I got tickets in advance to our trip but tried to get same-day for a better time slot, was waiting at 8:30, when they became available, and I didn’t get tickets.

First visit since the renovations, they are still making updates. If you are into the history of aviation in America this is your place. Comparatively the other museum A&S museum in Chantilly is s more open space and focuses on displaying various aircraft. This one also has aircraft displays but more curated with multimedia displays and various miniature models. I made a reservation the day before our visit and it was pretty easy. I went on a weekday morning in mid march at 11am. It was still pretty busy, but manageable. My only critique is that the placement as well as the wording of the exhibits could improve. There were times that i was searching to try to find an explanation of what i was looking at.

Unfortunately right now, half of the museum is under renovation. But the half that we got to see was really cool. They've got a lot of really awesome exhibits and so many different interactive things. I really liked the interactive Earth exhibit on the upper floor. I wouldn't eat at the cafe though, everything was very overpriced.

The U.S. Capitol building is a grand and imposing structure housing the federal government's two houses of Congress. It is an impressive 520-room building with its familiar domed roof, and it is where Senators and Representatives meet to make the laws that govern the country. The Capitol visitor center has activities, information sheets, and guide books for small visitors and those in grades six and up.
We went in the first week of August. It was extremely hot. Be mindful to take hats, umbrella etc. We took a capitol tour inside. It was free but you have to book in advance. You need to go there with a booking. Historic and grand. We enjoyed the tour as it was very informative detailing the story of the birth of the constitution, the paintings and also the sculptures.
You can take pictures when permitted.
Also I want to mention here about finding the correct entrance for visitors as there were many gates. So plan ahead of your booking. It took us a little while to locate the exact gate for entrance.

This was the last major attraction I saw during my one week trip here from 12/28/21 to 1/4/2022. You can see the Capital Building from several blocks away. I actually remembered I needed to stop by because I saw it after exiting the Children’s Museum.
It was a little after 5pm when we made it there. We say the reflecting pool, which is wider but shorter than the reflecting pool between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. Unlike the latter, the Capitol’s reflecting pool isn’t easily accessible to stuck your feet it. The view, however, was still nice.
This was my first time being in DC since I was in elementary school. It was extremely awesome to see the Capitol building. It was ironic that I had just watched Olympus Has Fallen on TV in my hotel just a day prior.
Unfortunately, the perimeter of the building is gated off due to the events that transpired a year ago. I’m saddened to see that public access still isn’t available. Of course COVID is an added barrier to tours. Going inside is something that I wanted to do. I did not go to the visitors center that is close by as my son was ready to go back to the hotel, lol. There was a large Christmas tree in the lawn area between the capital building and the reflecting pool. Many people were taking pictures and appeared to be having a good time.
I was grateful for the experience because I talked to my son (8) about what goes on in the building, the legislative bodies, and etc. I’m sure he’s forgotten everything we talked about but he can say he seen it in person whenever he does learn about it in school.

The history within this building is certainly something to see. If you are on a short weekend break, I would recommend coming to see it.
I would recommend coming early in the morning as it can get rather busy.
If you love a rushed museum tour, you'll love this one. Personally, I would prefer to have a bit more time to be able to see all the history.
Had my time not been rushed, this would've been a 5 star review.

What a beautiful place to be! It’s incredible to think that this was created in the late 1700s. The designs and statues are beautiful, and the paintings are incredible too. Everything inside is very fancy and elegant, and in the main room, it turns out that the painting on the ceiling is higher than the Statue of Liberty, and is bigger than a basketball court! The tour guide was very friendly and funny, and the employees were also kind. I would definitely recommend coming here. It’s totally worth it!

The United States Capitol is perhaps one of my favorite buildings in the world. It's a delight to explore the surrounding areas, no matter the time of day. I haven't had the chance to do a tour yet, but it's definitely on my list for the future. The tulips in the spring and the Christmas tree in December add a special charm to the place. Whenever I'm in DC, I make it a point to spend at least 30 minutes walking the grounds. There's also plenty to do nearby, like visiting the Supreme Court building and the Library of Congress. Finding parking in Capitol Hill, just a few blocks away, is typically easy. And if you can, visit during sunset – it's absolutely stunning!

From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the intricate details of the Rotunda, the majestic Statuary Hall, and the ornate chambers where our nation's laws are debated and enacted.
Our tour guide was knowledgeable and engaging, providing fascinating insights into the Capitol's role in shaping American democracy. Walking through the same halls that have been walked by countless leaders throughout history was a humbling and inspiring experience.
Additionally, the opportunity to learn about the art, artifacts, and symbolism within the Capitol added depth and meaning to the tour. Each room and statue seemed to tell a story, connecting us to the ideals and aspirations that have guided our nation for centuries.
Overall, the United States Capitol tour exceeded my expectations in every way. It was a reminder of the enduring strength and resilience of our democracy, and a testament to the importance of preserving and cherishing our nation's heritage. VIsited in October 2014. The U.S. Capitol, an American neoclassical architectural marvel, began construction on September 18, 1793, and was ready for occupation by 1800. It has undergone several extensions, the last in 1962, and now encompasses over 1.5 million square feet with more than 600 rooms. Notably, it survived the Burning of Washington in 1814, expanded in the 1850s, and boasts a dome completed around 1866. Located on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., it serves as the origin for the District’s street-numbering system and is a testament to the nation’s legislative history.

What a stunning and eye-popping experience! We're so glad that we went on the tour of the Capitol. The domed ceiling with the apotheosis of Washington by Brumidi is something I could look at for several minutes (but not up close, oh well). The hall of statues with famous figures from each state is perfectly arranged. There's also a mini-museum that you can look around in before you begin your tour, with an elaborate model of the Capitol.
The Library of Congress is the world's largest library and it has been gathering items for over two centuries. It is located in three different buildings on Capitol Hill and it offers free tours to the public. The Library of Congress also features talks, concerts, and other exhibits.
Favorite place I visited in D.C.. Words cannot begin to describe how gorgeous this building is inside and out. Every single detail so carefully thought out from the architecture to the art. Definitely go visit if you can, there’s so much to see. Also try and get a library card if you can it’s totally free and a fun souvenir to keep. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. There are time entry tickets, so make sure you get them in advance. The main reading room of the library was amazing and there were also other exhibits that were interesting as well. There is also a convenient place in the library to check in your bags, as they don't allow them when you are touring the main room. For visitors, immersing oneself in the grandeur of the Great Hall and exploring the impressive Main Reading Room is an absolute must. Delve into the exhibitions showcasing rare manuscripts and historical treasures, and take advantage of the guided tours to gain deeper insights into this cultural gem.
It is free to enter, but you need to reserve a time entry pass on its website, and it's very easy. You can buy souvenirs from a nice gift shop at the bottom level.

The Library of Congress is an absolute gem among libraries, and an essential stop for anyone visiting Washington, D.C. Having explored numerous libraries, none have captivated me quite like this one. Every corner is adorned with breathtaking sculptures, paintings, and drawings that effortlessly draw the eye skyward. Amidst this artistic splendor, the presence of countless books only adds to the library's allure.
Visiting the Library of Congress is a soul-nourishing experience, imbued with positivity and inspiration. The ambiance is both cozy and light-filled, creating an inviting atmosphere that beckons visitors to linger and explore. Despite the bustling crowds of tourists, there's a palpable sense of joy in witnessing so many people drawn to this bastion of history and knowledge.
I must commend the staff for their exceptional kindness and friendliness, always ready to assist with a smile. Their warmth adds to the overall welcoming atmosphere and enhances the visitor experience. In summary, a visit to the Library of Congress is not just educational—it's a journey filled with beauty, enlightenment, and the enduring spirit of human curiosity.

This was my first stop after landing in D.C. I had made my reservation online a few weeks in advance. The line to get in wasn't long and the only hiccup was a gentleman in front of the line not listening to directions and taking everything out of his pockets.
The Library is easy to access from the metro and is directly across from the Capitol building and adjacent to the Supreme Court.
Listen to the audio tour, go and see the Main Reading Room (I think it's only open at 2pm on a Friday) and get your Reader Identification so you can take advantage of going into the many reading rooms to do research! Just sign up online first so you just have to show your ID when you get down to the registration.
The librarians are super nice and helpful and the security throughout were nice!! The ladies down at the card registration were a bit brusque and abrupt, but perhaps they see so many people every day they get tired of the monotony.

This stunningly beautiful building was not in my list of places to see in DC but my son took us there, and got good reason! It’s fantastic. Now of course you can’t go into the actual library unless you have a card.
But you don’t need to go in there as the main vestibule and is filled with lots to see. One of my favorite things are the short sayings that are around the frieze near the ceiling. I took pictures of many and you can see them here.

The library of Congress was another cool government building to check out. I definitely thought it would have more books presented throughout the library but it was more architectural. Definitely a place to check out !

Absolutely stunning architecture and art! From my perspective, I was expecting something different.. but it was pretty cool. The library is only opened during week days, check the website always first, so you can see the schedule. Well worth the visit.

What a wonderful library this is, I have visited many libraries, but I have never seen one like this. How beautiful everything is there, I always looked up, it was impossible to take my eyes off the beautiful sculptures, paintings and drawings, and of course, as without books. It is a pleasure to visit here, it is to gain positivity and good thoughts. It is very cozy, light and clean. There are many tourists, and it makes me happy that people want to come here, this is history, and history is very interesting and informative. I would like to note that the staff is very kind and friendly, always happy to help.

Wow! This was super amazing! Such a cool building and history. They also have tours where you can go into the actual library and walk around. Had a great experience here and the workers were so nice and willing to answer our questions and teach us!

Amazing architecture of the library. One thing to note, if you are visiting DC, there are many places need timed entry free tickets, including this library, unfortunately we could not get any tickets for this place. May be next time if we visit DC, we will surely book tickets in advance. There was a line at the entrance on a weekend.

Don't think "Library", think history temple. What a beautiful place, this was my favorite indoor location on our DC trip. They have an original Gutenberg Bible and Thomas Jefferson's original book collection that help start the Library of Congress. What other location has such a great selling statement. If that is not enough, if you love architecture, this is the place for you, this Venetian Gothic (from the inside).

I only got a quick stop here, but it is gorgeous!! I'll need to come back to get a library card and use the reading room! 😍

The National Cryptologic Museum is a fascinating exhibit that showcases the history of code making and breaking. It boasts unique artifacts not found elsewhere, including a working Enigma machine from WW2. Visitors can call ahead to schedule a tour with former NSA employees who expertly guide them through the exhibits. The museum offers an exceptional experience that can't be missed for anyone remotely interested in the subject. Overall, it's an impressive collection of historical significance that highlights critical advancements in cryptography and intelligence gathering.
I loved this museum. Craig was amazing. Very helpful and knowledgeable. I really appreciate his time. The sweet lady working in the gift shop was great too. The amount of awesome information, artifacts, and everything they have here..... One of my favorites in the area. I am so glad that I was able to make it to visit. It's really great for those who are interested in intelligence and espionage and how our people are working to keep us safe. The library is...... amazing. So many good books.

Really interesting small museum. It's not far from the BWI airport, so if you have a couple of hours before your flight, it's a great place to check out. Lots of Enigma machines from WW2, but tons of other cryptographic equipment as well. Docents are super friendly and willing to share lots of info. I think it's a hidden gem. Not crowded at all, also, so bonus.

This place is fairly small, but they packed a TON of things to see here. If you love intelligence history, military history, or just history in general, this is definitely worth the visit. I've been here a few times, but I just recently visited for the first time after recent renovations. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they have a lot of brochures and informational items you can take home for further reading. You can either stop by anytime to walk around and enjoy the exhibits, or you can schedule a guided tour. Plenty of things to see and learn about for all ages. Always enjoy my time whenever I get a chance to visit!

Cool museum with a lot of history you don't see elsewhere. Call ahead about a tour, the number is on the website. It's a bit hit or miss, but if you can get one, the tours are amazing. They are done by former NSA employees and they do an outstanding job.
There is also a working Enigma from WW2 you can actually use, which is pretty interesting and a critical piece of history come alive.
Can't recommend this enough if you are even remotely interested in the subject. It was a fantastic experience and a collection you won't see elsewhere.

I love this place! It really makes you feel like you want to work for the NSA after seeing, reading, and hearing everything that is here. I would totally get a tour for this place. My youngest was totally bored. My oldest was mored interested in the hand on things. The place is probably geared for 10+; however, I think all ages could enjoy the museum. I had a blast. I'll likely give a donation.

The day I stopped by, there was a tour going on for another group and I tagged along. The guide was so knowledgeable and really highlighted the importance of cryptography and how it has advanced over time. I highly recommend getting a tour guide. It really brings life to the topic and the displays. Looking over the placards after the tour didn't have nearly the depth or impact as the tour itself.
There was also a group of children that appeared to be having there own experience going between a room and finding stuff in the museum (and using the enigma machines). They looked like they were having a blast. I'm not sure how you arrange that, but if you have a group of kids definitely call and see if that's an option.

If you have some time, and are in the area. It is definitely worth stopping in to take a tour. So many interesting things to see, with hands on exhibits. There's even a free literature section.
Terrance Ray Trybus — Google review
Go with the guided tour, the guides are incredibly friendly, willing to answer questions, but good people. Like many museums run by the Fed govt, it's free to go through, and you can even use the Enigma machine hands on.
You do not need to go past the guard gate at Fort Meade to get to the museum, which makes it just a little easier. Check it out when in the area.

This was just amazing to visit. As a military communicator by trade I was blown away. The amount of history that exists in this building is mind blowing. The germ enigma machine you get to play with is a once in a lifetime opportunity. They have old nuclear weapon systems on display and even how cryptology existed without computers. They have a lot of examples that you can use yourself. Go visit!

Cool museum to visit. They have so many artifacts from various wars and eras about cryptology. The display of a German enigma machine was quite cool and I really enjoyed reading all the descriptions and stories of all the different devices! Friendly staff member at the front gave a nice overview of the museum. It took me about 1 hour to go through and read/skim most of the things. Plenty of parking.

Wonderful memorial for our fallen shipmates

What an amazing piece of national importance and relevance. Can walk through the corridors of history and historic decision making that has had far reaching consequences on world order, here. Some of the stories narrated here brings-in the goose bumps and also the towring buildings of the NSA next door tells you the all-tell story of how the work and continued contribution of so many nameless people continue to protect us all!
The place has some rare pieces that are a delight for anyone interested in the origins and the way cryptology has evolved over centuries and more interestingly how different continent approached it differently. Sometimes, it takes getting under someone’s skin to understand how they would solve a logic.
There are several free books available for pick-up that could be a keepsake for anyone interested in the theory as well as specifics off stories. A whole bunch of cryptology problems to create and slove for all ages too! This place definitely needs to be on your list.
Pssssttt….volunteers helping you around and showing you the place could be a top notch ex-NSA staffer / agent and obviously what they’ve done in their lives remain CLASSIFIED :-D

Baltimore's Horseshoe Casino is a vast and modern establishment that offers slots and table games as well as bars and restaurants. It is truly an impressive spot, with excellent gaming options for all types of visitors.
Wonderful experience the customer service clerk was amazing unlike most casinos she was amazing. The new customer points card didn’t work for us at the pizza place but we weren’t worried about it the pizza was so good! BBQ pizza on the lower floor is legendary. No smoking so it smelled great everywhere there was a smoking section outside with machines and smoking was cool. Parking was safe mood was safe feeling was good definitely will come back. Free soda machine on the wall like all the other good casinos.

I've been here before and I feel it lost some of the pizzazz that it used to have. It's still very clean and well kept, tho. We had fun at the slots. And we ate at Brew Burgers. The food was delicious. Again it was clean and had good service.

Several weeks ago around 5-5:30 a group of us arrived for the football game. We don't live in Baltimore and since there isn't a mask mandate for the stadium, we didn't have masks. We are all vaccinated. We decided to go into the casino as some of us hadn't been. There was a young lady working the intake area. She informed us that we couldn't enter without a mask. We asked if any were available and she said there were vending machines inside the casino with masks to purchase. Well one member of our party found a mask in their bag and attempted to find the machines. When they couldn't he returned to the lady and asked again where they were. She was frustrated but told him directions again which involved multiple turns. He again couldn't find them but another employee said the machines were outside and by the bus station. We left and walked to the bus station to purchase masks. We returned to the same woman. She knew we had already had our photos taken before but insisted we do that again. I said to her that I would like for her to pass on a recommendation of having masks for people if it is mandated or having the vending machine outside or in the lobby so that people can actually find it. She promptly told me that she didn't have to provide anything (I wasn't asking her personally). I turned to her and stated that obviously she didn't have to provide anything including good customer service. Once inside the casino, I saw multiple people without mask include multiple employees. I took photos. I was so disappointed with my groups experience with this casino. I've been to the casinos in Vegas and it was such a different experience.

Went to check out Horseshoe with my uncle on the night of Monday, 07-03-23. He thought we could catch a show. Security told us that they'd stopped the shows because of covid & hadn't brought them back yet.
I was VERY impressed with how good the place smelled. Never saw anyone smoking; can only assume that it's either a no smoking venue or smoking is only permitted in designated areas. Was happy about free parking.
We didn't gamble. Just wanted to get a feel of the place. I'd driven by several times over the years. We didn't go to the restaurant. We did get to enjoy some fireworks from the parking deck. May stop by again to try some slots next time I'm in the city. Security was tight with required showing of id, I believe a metal detector, and I think facial recognition.

I really enjoy going to The Horseshoe Casino near The Inner Harbor downtown Baltimore. My favorite table game is Roulette and I love that I can get Promotional Chips by exchanging my Caesar’s Rewards Points as seen in the photo below. Exchanged 100,000 points for $500 in Promotional Chips and was able to flip $400 into $465 in actual money…$$$ Needless to say a lot of the Dealers are fun and engaging. Plus I’ve met dozens of great people there over the past year…🤗

As my chef idol is Gordon Ramsay, my husband and I went to his MD Steak for our anniversary recently. I tried as much as possible, and needless to say, we had a ton of leftovers—first, the bread, warm with butter uniquely flavored with old bay. Next we tried two different appetizers, first the famous lobster risotto and the other was pork belly. I must say the pork belly was my favorite out of the two. It was soft and melted like butter in my mouth. Next we tried three dishes, the steak, then the Beef Wellington and Lamb. I must say I was a bit bummed on the Wellington as part of the pastry was a bit raw and it was not coated all the way around with the mushroom mix. But the meat was lovely and the flavor was still fantastic. The Lamb had a fabulous sauce that I wish I could have bought a bottle of. We tried a few different sides. The mushrooms which were out of this world, flavorful and still had a firm base to bite into. Then the Mac and cheese- oh yeah this was creamy and cheesy goodness, finally the creamed spinach. The spinach was stringy and a bit chewy. So this was not my favorite side. Finally what made the night. My husband and I shared the famous Sticky toffee pudding. I felt like I had just gone to heaven. It made the evening end on the highest note I could think of. We will be back.

What a pleasant surprise! We visited on a Friday afternoon. The first floor was practically deserted, which was fine with us. We expected smokers, but smoking was only allowed in a separate room upstairs. The entire casino smelled fresh and clean, which was wonderful. We had fun playing for a couple hours. I lost a bit, but my wife broke even, so it was a good day!

Part of the Caesar's network of casinos, Horseshoe Baltimore provides decent level of casino gaming fun. The restaurants are limited and parking is stuck to a garage that now is charging for Ravens and Orioles on home games (sad) but the gaming action is decent. Locals are respectful as long you return the favor. Security is respectful but can be long on the weekends entering the building.
The poker room is very basic and there are some sectioned off areas in the back on the second and first floor with what appears to be remodeling and some secret bar room that looks creepy. I believe there is a conference room and open club on the first floor. The pizza is really good and Gordon Ramsey restaurant is okay but not as good as AC or Vegas.
They do have great comp prizes (always use your players card) and the restrooms are always clean so I'm happy about that. Also the self serve soda is good. Cut the lemonade with ginger ale or sierra mist, you will thank me later.
Grab a few hundred dollars and see if luck is on your side today!

I went to the horseshoe for the first time recently to attend a poker event for the run good series. I like the horseshoe brand but there were pros and cons.
Pros - Close to the highway. A lot of convenient parking leading directly to the casino, Large gaming floor, very nice poker room, close to stadium, CONNECTED TO TOP GOLF! restaurants in the casino.
Cons - a lot of the restaurants only open a few hours a week it seemed like. The smells terrible outside. There’s no hotel in walking distance, I went across the street to holiday inn and there were off duty police officers that informed me the hotel is now used as a homeless shelter. The $1 chips are disgusting.
There was not a large selection of cash games in the poker room, but they had the basic 1/3 game and a 4/8 limit game going.

Was in town visiting and we decided to stop in.
I honestly can’t say all good things and I can’t say all bad things. However I do have a little bit of both. The pros: Free Parking, The size of the casino 🎰 is nice, the restrooms and game floors were clean, and that’s about it. The Cons: The Parking Lot smelled horrific, the ride in the elevator didn’t have a pleasant smell either. A lot of the machines didn’t work, and they could’ve had more other games besides so many slots. It’s not as lively as I was expecting it to be. So I don’t think I would return unless they improved and make things a little more lively.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. We paid $130 to park in the casino garage for the Ravens playoff game. We have been sitting in our car for 2.5 hours after the game with no movement attempting to leave the garage. Not coming back to the garage or the casino.

It was ok but not like I thought it was going to be. I only found one set of videos blackjack spot, but way more poker and slot machines. I mainly love blackjack. Granted they had blackjack sit down tables with other players but one you been playing online with player and not worrying if they have COVID it is hard to set by actual people who are coughing and sneezing, mask up or not. And granted online you don't wine real money but when encounter someone who's a jerk or rude you just mute them. Can't mute people setting by you at the table, but in all I enjoyed myself.

Bartenders at this place are horrible. Jill stared at me and served multiple other patrons before acknowledging that I was waiting. I stood waiting at the bar for an extremely long time. I ended up leaving and not get served because multiple bartenders would ignore me. I was at the bar for about 20-30 mins. I overheard Jill flirting with other patrons and staying at with them for an extended period of time while the bar was full. Extremely unprofessional. Another guy stood right next to me and waited about 20 min before getting served. I don’t know how long I would’ve had to wait to get served a beer.
Blackjack is decent. 25 pays 3/2
15 pays 6:5, couldn’t locate a 3:2 for 15s.
I travel to different casinos across MD and PA, this casino is by far the least crowded for Blackjack tables, especially for a weekend.
Would definitely return if Jill served a drink in a prompt fashion.

This beautiful stadium is home to the Baltimore Orioles and offers a great retro baseball experience. It's located near the Inner Harbor, making it a great place to watch a game.
Oriole Park at Camden Yards is truly one of the best ball parks in baseball. It still looks brand new. Its open, inviting, clean, easy to get around, even with full park it still does not feel congested. Parking is incredibly easy, cheap and safe. I recommend parking at one of the local hotels. Never issues walking to the parking lot at any time day or night due to ample lighting and police that monitor the cross streets. Staff at the concessions or at the seats have great welcoming vibes. Shout out to Walt. Just an amazing experience.
The food is also one of the best features, Jimmy's seafood is fantastic! We wandered around the park and all the seats are great, even the cheapest seats have perfect views of the field. Getting beers is very easy and exiting the park and parking was so fast, just an awesome park.

Strict bag policy. Purse size is enforced.
Frustrating locker system because you have to download app, set up account. No one at lockers to help.
Kids area is nice with little ones offering a playground, bounce house. Plus Sunday kids can run bases after game.
Lots of food options on 1st level.
Parking isn't terrible if you get here early enough. Gates open 1 hour before game. Parking was open 2 hours prior to game start time.
Be prepared for ridiculous food/drink prices.
Sundays they offered kids 9 yrs old n under free entry through pre tickets purchase. These tickets are for specific seating and you have to use kids cheer free sign up for tickets on their website.
All food, merchandise, parking are cashless and only takes credit cards/debit cards.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Orioles Park at Camden Yards, and I must say, it was an absolute home run of an experience! From the moment I walked through the gates, I was captivated by the charm and beauty of this historic ballpark.
First and foremost, the location of Orioles Park is fantastic. Situated in the heart of Baltimore, it's easily accessible and surrounded by a vibrant atmosphere. Whether you're a die-hard baseball fan or just looking for a great time, this place has it all.
The architecture of the stadium is simply stunning. Camden Yards seamlessly blends the old and the new, with its iconic red-brick facade and modern amenities. The attention to detail is impeccable, and you can feel the rich history of the Orioles franchise as you walk through the concourse.
Once inside, the atmosphere is electric. The passionate fans bring a contagious energy that adds to the excitement of the game. The seating arrangement provides excellent sightlines from virtually every section of the ballpark, ensuring you won't miss any of the action on the field.
The food options at Camden Yards are a home run as well. From classic ballpark favorites like hot dogs and nachos to local delicacies, there's something for everyone. I highly recommend trying the Maryland crab cakes; they are simply delicious!
What truly sets Camden Yards apart is the palpable sense of tradition and community. The Orioles organization goes above and beyond to create an enjoyable experience for fans of all ages. Whether it's the pre-game activities, the behind-the-scenes tours, or the interactive exhibits, there's always something to keep you engaged and entertained.
The park is also well-maintained and clean, with friendly and helpful staff members who ensure everything runs smoothly. Restrooms and facilities are easily accessible, and there are ample amenities to accommodate large crowds.
In conclusion, Orioles Park at Camden Yards is a must-visit destination for any baseball enthusiast or anyone looking to have a memorable time. Its timeless charm, top-notch facilities, and passionate atmosphere make it one of the best stadiums in the country. Whether you're cheering for the Orioles or just enjoying a day out with friends and family, this ballpark will leave you with unforgettable memories. I can't wait to return and experience the magic once again!

Beautiful ball park. Fairly easy to get great seats. Food is overpriced. I don’t like that they have limited how many gates are open. Walking through metal detectors is prison like. I hate that they are still cashless, it’s self checkout.. also I do not like. I will say there’s an awesome bartender there named Ashley. She was on upper deck and I believe moved to club. Also, group and season tickets. Carlos is the guy. His love for baseball, the home team and his customers is unmatched. He’s been there over 30 years so if you have questions about groups or season ticket packages, he’s the best.

The vendors and food are awesome featuring a few local restaurants such as Jimmy Famous Seafood. Highly recommend visiting the vegan food stand inside serving the BEST vegan dogs! On Sunday, kids are able to run the bases after the game. Overall, a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone!

Great ballpark. Easy to access by bus, rail, or on foot. Plenty to do and see. Tons of options for concessions and souvenirs. You can get great seats for cheap. I highly recommend going if you’ve never been!

Really nice park. I have been to 5 or 6 ball parks and this was on the list to see since it was closer to me. I really had a good time here. I am a Boston fan and had no comments or actions taken to me. This is a great ball field and will return in the future.

Had a great time visiting! Everyone was friendly, food was good albeit a bit limited given the small attendance but it was a beautiful night for baseball! And the free tickets for kids 10 & under is a great deal! I've been to 26 ballparks now and this one is up there in terms of layout and experience!
The one negative. Food and drink prices are definitely a bit ridiculous which is why I rated a 4. $5.50 for a 20oz Aquafina water, seriously?

This was my 8th MLB ballpark and I have to say that I was blown away by how amazing the venue was.
Excellent food and drink choices. We went with Jimmy's, which was a little pricey but definitely tasty. Drinks were reasonably priced and the red brick makes this a classic stop for any park hopper.
Fans were super nice and you can tell they loved the game as much as we did as Reds fans. Will definitely be back for the next series we play there in a couple years. Thanks for the good times, Baltimore! 🎆⚾

Caught a game at the ballpark recently. The food was great! Loved getting to try local staples. Great set up for a stadium and all its amenities!

Iconic ballpark. It's hard to know where to begin with such an amazing place, so let me just say that you're going to have an excellent time no matter what. We saw Shaq, aka DJ Diesel, perform on the field after the game and it was phenomenal. The only gripe I have is about the concessions. They're awful. Cafeteria food quality

What an absolutely BEAUTIFUL stadium.
Camden yards has officially become my favorite.
Came here with my boyfriend over the summer for a game. Ended up seeing Shaq perform as DJ diesel after the game!
Very clean stadium, typical stadium prices for food and drinks. Great views of the city from the top floor too!
****The stadium is a smoke-free property!!****
I watched a few people actually get kicked out for smoking in what seemed like an okay smoking area (away from crowds, distant from the stadium itself, like there was a rain delay for almost 2 hours what else do you expect people to do). If you need to exit to smoke you won’t be allowed back in. So 100% keep that in mind!

Camden Yards was the first baseball stadium to take MLB stadiums out of the Bowl era of the 60s, 70s, and early 80s. Many of the other stations are now modeled in part after this one. Located near Inner Harbor in Downtown Baltimore the stadium has a ton of charm! From the walk in by the old factory to great views of both the game and the city from the stands, Oriole Park is a great place to catch a game. When we were there the staff was friendly and accommodating and even the food was really good for Stadium food (I had a burger). If you are a baseball fan Oriole Park at Camden Yards should be on your list!

Visited twice in 2023. It’s such a beautiful stadium. I mean it was a secret goal come true since the O’s have been my team since childhood despite me being a Canadian. I’ll be back this season with bells on 🧡🧡🧡 Go O’s!

Attended a game this summer there for the first time. The park is somewhat older and definitely could stand some updating. The scoreboard is small compared to other stadiums. The food was good we got some pizza which was comparable to Little Caesars. Homemade lemonade was delicious however. Over all the park ranks somewhere in the middle of other parks I’ve been too.

A stadium still bustling with the retro magic that greeted fans on arrival. Many of the design features - like the street shopping plaza and escalator views over kid play zones - still outdo many other contemporary parks.
The food choices are solid and within the range of higher fast food fare, with treats for those who search.
The seats pack a nice view of the action even from the top. The crowd is loyal and loud, but not rude or intimidating. Good mix of generations, but less kids than I expected.
The place is really alive as the Orioles make their run. Now is the time to pay a visit. They’re a genuinely exciting team.
The Inner Harbor of Baltimore is a popular tourist destination renowned for its numerous attractions. The place is home to the Maryland Science Center and National Aquarium that showcase an observatory, planetarium, giant turtles, dolphins and electric eels. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the city from the Top of the World Observation Level while exploring historic warships docked below. Power Plant Live! provides visitors with an exciting nightlife experience in a revamped power station featuring music venues, eateries and bars.
The National Aquarium of Baltimore is one of the most popular attractions in the city, with a wealth of exhibits exploring different aspects of aquatic life. Highlights include the Tropical Rain Forest, an environment complete with trees, bushes, and waterfalls that can be visited from the forest floor to the treetop canopy, as well as the Upland Tropical Rain Forest, a walk-through exhibit featuring tropical plants and animals found in higher elevations.
We wore our masks. Many people did not.
The staff was great. It was a pretty slow day, it seemed. We had a fabulous time.
We arrived at 12:45 and left at 4:45. We had a six and seven year old with us. I think we could have used an additional two hours to see *every single* exhibit available. (One of our kids wanted to skip several tanks to get to things she wanted to see.)
It was absolutely worth the trip. The staff were really knowledgeable and kind.

Wished this place had parking because come on $50 for Tickets and $30 for parking in some random lot. Make it make sense. Nevertheless, The visit was a nice one. My little one enjoyed her time and that’s all I could ask for. I will say they threw me for a loop when I learned I had to check in my stroller versus using it for her travel through the floors. But hey a little walking never killed anyone. They had a variety of animals fish, mammal and birds a like. Someone was constantly cleaning the facility so that was a nice to see. We went when they were about to close so there wasn’t a lot of people. Would we go again, yes!! Was it worth the visit, yes!! Worth the price, no!! But then again everything is high these days.

Friendly staff and plenty to see for kids and adults. They have dolphins and a rainforest area, as well as a huge shark exhibit. The kids had a great time. Plenty of places inside to grab snacks or drinks. I even saw beer for sale at one of them for the adults. The place is very clean and even though it was crowded when we went there were plenty of exhibits to keep people busy while waiting to trade places. The gift shop has great items. Overall, wonderful experience. Would do it again.

Beautiful place, and a wide range of fish from marine to tropical to see and learn about.
When we visited, it was too busy, far too busy. We couldn't move. Literally had to wait until crowds had moved passed fish tanks so we could see. Apart from that, I think the place is great. They just need to limit the amount of people who come in here at any one time.
The photos upon entering though, they are far too over priced.
Apart from that though, the displays are fantastic. Just limit the amount of people in at any one time and it'll be worthy of more stats in my opinion.

We came to Baltimore to visit the aquarium from Austin, and we were not disappointed.
My teenager is obsessed with marine biology so we had to come for a spring break visit.
We were most impressed by the staff members who work here. They were so friendly, kind, and open to answering questions. They were also all so knowledgeable. My teen asked some really tricky scientific questions and every time, the staff found an answer or just knew the fish enough to answer.
The black tip tank is stunning and impossible to describe in sufficient terms. It was simply awesome.
We did the behind the scenes shark tour and thought it was well worth the extra money to add this on.
I will mention.m that the 4D shark movie was a little bit scary for the younger kids and might be better to skip if your kids are under 10.
The animals were very happy and well cared for. It was just so nice and we spent hours wandering. The jellyfish sculpture and exhibit and positively breathtaking.

The national was a great place to visit. Fun for all ages. The exhibits were very interesting. Watching the dolphins train was fun as well. It only took about 4hrs to go through it all. I would recommend to anyone looking for something to do.

Such a beautiful experience to see life underwater. The best part is dolphin area and jellyfish section. It’s mesmerizing to see hundreds of different species under one roof. There are multiple levels of this aquarium, each with its own greatness. Love the entire experience. Best for kids! it’s great to see your little ones smile.

If you love going to zoos and aquariums don't pass on a visit to this one. Yes the tickets are a little steep but you will learn much and experience a ton. All the exhibits are very well put together. Kids and adults alike will enjoy every part of the facility. They don't do dolphin shows anymore but if you've ever watched one you'll know these mammals are incredibly intelligent and watching the training sessions is a great and educational experience. Be sure to pick the brains of the people who work here. They'll tell you interesting facts that will make your journey through the aquarium fun. Also be on the lookout for random employees to do feedings at the different exhibits. The food in the maim area is expensive but good.

**A Memorable Visit to the National Aquarium**
Having had the privilege of visiting the National Aquarium twice in the last four years, I can confidently say that it is truly a delightful place to spend half a day. Whether you are visiting with or without kids, this family-friendly attraction offers an immersive experience that leaves a lasting impression.
One of the highlights of my visits was undoubtedly the mesmerizing jellyfish exhibit. The aquarium boasts a remarkable variety of jellyfish species, each displaying their unique shapes and ethereal movements. It was a truly captivating sight that left me in awe of the wonders of the ocean.
However, while the National Aquarium is undeniably wonderful, there were a few factors that prevented me from giving it a perfect five-star rating. Firstly, the price of admission can be quite steep, particularly when visiting with the whole family. It would be more accessible to a wider audience with more reasonable ticket prices.
Additionally, having visited a superior aquarium in a mall in South Korea, my expectations were high for the United States' national aquarium. Although it offered a pleasant experience, it fell slightly short of the level of grandeur and innovation that I had anticipated.
Nevertheless, the National Aquarium is still an excellent destination to explore marine life and immerse oneself in the wonders of the deep sea. Whether you're a nature enthusiast or looking for a family-friendly activity, this attraction is definitely worth a visit.

I have to say I was unimpressed. I've been to a few aquariums including Atlanta and considering how talked up the National Aquarium is, I expected a great experience. To my surprise the best part was the birds, which are not what you would think would be a stand out feature at an aquarium.
I'll start off by pointing out that most of the Aquarium is small tanks displaying various geographical aquatic wildlife with a few big tanks showcasing more variety. The giant walk through (vertical) shark tank is cool but fairly underwhelming in terms of variety. The dolphins are no longer doing shows and they are currently renovating their front tank (late 2023) which means you basically can't see them. The most enjoyable part was the walkthrough nature zones with birds although they are limited in what you actually see.
A word of warning... the tanks can strain the eyes just due to the glass and the light refraction. And there are a fair amount of ramps and stairs due to the vertical nature of the aquarium. Also the virtual reality section costs additional money and is not remotely worth it. I'm happy to support wildlife conservation and hope my money is put to good use but between tickets, food, and parking we probably spent $200 and it felt like I was overcharged by at least $100.

Great place for family fun!! Super clean, very friendly staff. All of the animal seem very happy. We even got to see some divers cleaning the underwater housing to these beautiful sea creatures. They also have some birds and reptiles to look at. You can pet jellyfish and crabs. There's a 4d movie theater and a huge gift shop. Dolphins were fun to watch!
Janelle Runyon — Google review
Overall, it was a really great experience for the entire family. We especially enjoyed, that so many people walked around that could tell you a lot about the different fishes or habitats. The details and love spend in the creation of the different aquariums is great. This actually lets the dolphins look quite sad, since they "just" have a giant swimming pool with no natural decoration.
We spent roughly 4 hours in the aquarium and were flashed the entire time. So many details and different kind of fishes, turtles, etc. The organization, how you walk through the building is great. Especially impressive is the long way going deeper and deeper to the ground of the ocean, while the giant sharks are surrounding you.
Overall, we would definitely visit the aquarium again!

National Aquarium, a place that never fails to captivate my heart and imagination. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement and anticipation. I also want to commend the dedicated staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure the well-being of the aquarium's inhabitants and provide an enriching experience for visitors. Their passion and expertise shine through in every interaction, making our visit all the more memorable. In conclusion, if you're looking for a magical escape into the enchanting world beneath the waves, look no further than the National Aquarium. It's an experience that promises to leave you with cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

The National Aquarium is great for all ages but if you have kids 1-5 years old definitely do the annual membership! It’s great in the winter when it’s cold but you need to get out and the heat of the summer too. This round was with teens who didn’t remember it well from early childhood and they still had a great time!

I love the National Aquarium.
My wife and I visited and had a great experience. I have been many other times, but am still amazed at what you see here. The facility is modern, clean, and very accessible. And the animals and educational opportunity the provide is really over the top. I'm also glad they have made the decision to better care for dolphins versus using them as a show.
My only negative is the price, but managing a facility like this is expensive so I understand.

Had a great time here. Thought it would be bigger due to other reviews, but still got top to bottom in a few hours. Always fun to watch. Food and souvenirs as always, way too expensive but we get them anyway. (Over 20 bucks for 2 pretzels and 3 cans of drinks.) Would definitely go back, because I like these types of things.

Enjoyed what the National Aquarium had to offer. 5 floors with many different exhibits. Loved the Jellyfish Invasion. Only downplay about the museum experience were, I had came on a day when a school had a field trip so other than having to wait around for the kids it would’ve been a solid 10/10 with that exception 8.5/10

$50 per person. We went on a Monday, no wait time. Very impressive aquarium! It was hard to tell by other reviews what it was like. We were pleasantly surprised how big it was and how modern! Super clean and easy to see everything. It's so cool they have so many big sharks and sting rays. They also have a rainforest section that's amazing! We didn't bring our kids, but they would have loved it!! Highly recommend going, we feel it was definitely worth the cost. The set up of the entire place is a little confusing, but super cool once you figure it out.

Wonderful aquarium with a variety of displays, including species from around the world. There is very good accessibility throughout the facility, however, be prepared to wait to see exhibits on busier days. You should buy tickets in advance as they are utilizing timed ticket entry. The gift shop has a variety of options for kids and adults. The snack bar is a bit pricey and offers limited selections.

Great time out with my wife. First time visitors, on a Saturday at 12:15, we were 30 minutes early and they still let us in. Lots of young families… young kids everywhere, but since they weren’t mine I didn’t care. It was a lot of fun and great things to look at. I’m a big guy could have used a bit more ac in some spots but all good.
The rainforest was cool, loved the sloth. Sharks were massive, the dolphins were fun hopefully there will be shows again. The dolphin area was a great space to sit and relax for a bit and watch the 6 dolphins do stuff.
We did not see any videos and with that being said we walked the entire place in 1 hour. We also didn’t eat there so can say much on price but PARKING…. That was 28.00 so if you can get a bus that might be better.

Great exhibits, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and good learning opportunities for kids. You have to check this place out at least once! Parking is pretty convenient across the street. It can get a bit crowded midday, so my recommendation is to come on the earlier side.

Upon entering the aquarium first and foremost, I’d like to see the area is beautiful it was very well kept and organized well. Going into the aquarium was awesome. The layout was perfect and simple to navigate. The animals and enclosures were beautiful and taken care of very nice, I do wish there was more corals but I do understand the complexity of keeping them alive. I also do feel the puffin enclosure can use some touching up more frequently. What really was breathtaking was the dolphins, they don’t do shows there, but they do feed them and do tricks with them. Just seeing the genuine bond they have with the trainers and how intelligent they are was one of a kind. I recommend everyone to head over there and experience the surreal sights of the National Aquarium!

One of the best sights to see in Maryland, if not the best. Perfect atmosphere for adults and children alike. Educational and visually stunning. The shark tank area is a joy, as are the massive rays found at the very beginning.
A must-visit if you're in town for a few days in Baltimore. Approximately $50 per adult, so not cheap, but still well worth it.

This is probably my favorite place for me and my family to go in Baltimore. The aquarium is beautiful - the little habitats they create for all of their animals (they have more than just fish!) are very true to life and pleasing to the eye. The food in the cafeteria is also pretty good, better than most food you'd find at zoos/aquariums, but there's also a ton of restaurants and other stuff to do a short walk away! Love this area, I go as often as I can.

My family and I have lived in the DMV for almost 10 years and just made it here this week. It was really nice and our boys thoroughly enjoyed it.
Parking was easy and convenient about a block over with discounted parking with validation received at our exit from the aquarium.
Children under 4 are free so only my husband and I had to pay for entry which included a military discount. The stroller check and locker rentals were perfect. With multiple levels and areas to explore, we spent a couple of hours taking in all the aquarium had to offer.
Even on a weekday there was a nice crowd but not too crowded. They offer dining on location but we didn’t eat there.
I’d definitely recommend this aquarium as a great activity for anyone in the area looking for something fun to do.

Beautiful environment and well kept marine habitats. Wonderful opportunity for the whole family to have fun together! Let the Philips Restaurant valet park your car. The Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine is a star-shaped fort located in Baltimore that has played an important role in American history. It served as a prison during the Civil War and was a hospital during World War II. However, it is most famous for its role in the Battle of Baltimore, which occurred during the War of 1812 and helped to protect the Baltimore Harbor from an attack by the British Navy.
This is a remarkable visit for anyone who loves history and America. Make sure you watch the video in the museum first before heading up to the fort. There are also exhibits inside the fort and a lot to explore. There are many forts up and down the east coast that are similar, but this one is unique for its history and position. The gift shop is not run by the NPS but is still well stocked with interesting offerings. I look forward to returning.

This was a great experience. We decided to go on a whim and are very glad we made the stop. The weather was super hot but it was worth it. There were reenactments and the displays were very informative and entertaining. The video at the main entrance is awesome. The displays are well thought of and there are several interactive areas.
The cost is $15 per adult, with several discounts available (military, student, senior, etc.)
This place is a must if you are like history. If you have kids, I think they would enjoy it more if they are 10 or older.

I wish I could give this 10 stars. The old fort is well preserved and the slice of history here is reflective of a major turning point in the American story. The presentation of the writing of our National Anthem is stirring, emotional and visually unforgettable. Walk the grounds, it's hilly and shade is at a premium, but the experience should not be missed, at all, if you've any interest in American History. My pride as an American is stoked to a flame here. Yours might be too.

How beautiful this National Park is. Spend the day outdoors. Bring a picnic lunch, chair, and a good book. Sit by the water and enjoy the views. It does cost to walk inside of the Fort and explore, but it does not cost to walk the beautiful trail in the surrounding area. This is mainly a self guided tour and all outdoors. Bring a hat and plenty of sunscreen if you're planning to visit during summer. In the fall/winter dress appropriately. Sweatshirt for the cooler Temps of fall since u are right on the water. Be sure to stop and watch the quick video about the battle and the Star -Spangled Banner. On your way out, don't forget the gift shop. There are some great gifts you can purchase. My favs are always the National Park patches and medallions for my walking stick. If you're a National Park Pass holder, it is free for two people. You can stamp your passport book at the front counter as you check in.

Wonderful place! Very well preserved! One of the most historical places in the United States!
A guided tour is absolutely the way to go and is so much easier than any other historical place I've been to!
The access to the different rooms and areas is fantastic! The views are fantastic! It's amazing to think what it would've been like from a historical sense but even today it is so picturesque.
Even if you didn't go as a tourist to the fort, the grounds serve as a nice walking/running path. During the time I was there, I saw numerous people who were clearly not tourists, walking around the area. What a great thing!
Would highly recommend making it a point to stop and see the birthplace of the National Anthem!

We went on a day and at a time where we were able to participate in the flag changing ceremony - taking down and rolling the huge star spangled banner in exchange for the raising of the US flag. Really neat experience. The ranger gave an inspiring speech before hand (though could've been shorter to the same effect). The fort is fun to explore & to look out over the bay at the ships. A short video tells the story of the national anthem.

Very nice historical site that takes care to tell the stories of its significance across the early years of the country up through its use as a hospital during WW1. The gounds are well kept and open with easy to navigate walkways that take you into the heart of the fort. Once there you can go inside the buildings that are there and see what life was like in the fort previous times. There is an good display of an officer's mess explaining how they would gather to discuss and teach teach tactics to the junior officers. One building is set aside to the significance of the battle of Baltimore in the War of 1812. Outside you can walk the defense line amongst some the cannons and take in the great view of Baltimore's harbor.

A living preserved artifact of the past, For McHenry is an awesome national monument! The Fort itself is befit by a nice visitor center and park like Path befit by plaques and small dedications to the surrounding area! The Fort section is just as great! From the outside and going in there are TONS of things to see, with personal highlights for me being the inner center were the buildings are and inner artillery around the walls! Everything is incredibly well preserved and looks just as they did during the days they were first put to use! The staff were great too, being incredibly friendly, talkative and interactive, case in point being when the flag was lowered by them and some tourists in the area! My only gripe is I wish I had gotten a better Souvenir but the pamphlet I got was really nice on its own! Other than that? The small admission fee without any paid parking is a small price to pay for visiting such a cool place! Highly recommended, go there if you're in the area!
Pictures and videos are of the whole monument as a whole and the pamphlet I mentioned!

It was a beautiful fall day and we got to walk along the river to the fort. It starts in the tourist center where there is a multimedia presentation that tells how the fort was the inspiration for the Star Spangled Banner. But there is much more to this fort than that. You will see artifacts, learn about the War of 1812 and how that was a pivotal moment in the history of the US (hint: we weren't always a super power). Layer on top of that the recruiting center for two world wars, an 1100 bed hospital that pioneered plastic surgery for the returning soldiers, statues, and expert guides and you are in for a wonderful experience. There are some really big cannons there too, and examples of different types of shells designed to be effective against people, rigging, or infrastructure.
Now if all you are interested in is people you have a great variety of those too. I could identify at least 12 different languages being spoken from all different parts of the world. The curators are very knowledgeable and it runs deep. Don't hesitate to ask lots of questions to gain some great insights into how things truly were (not exactly like I was taught in third grade).

Lovely walking/running path that winds around the perimeter of the fort, near the water. It’s a paved path so good for strollers. Lots of open space for picnic blankets/soccer/etc. Cherry blossoms in the spring and climbing trees for all year round. Picnic tables and bathrooms with the best kept changing table I’ve ever seen (reason for the 5 stars, tbh). I’ve actually never paid to see the fort part. I’m completely content to walk around and enjoy the scenery for free.

Visiting Fort McHenry National Park was an absolute delight! Steeped in history and surrounded by breathtaking views, it's a must-see destination for anyone visiting Baltimore. Walking through the fort felt like stepping back in time, with knowledgeable park rangers providing fascinating insights into its significance during the War of 1812.
The views of Baltimore's harbor from the fort's ramparts are simply stunning, especially during sunrise or sunset. It's no wonder that this site inspired Francis Scott Key to pen the words to our national anthem, 'The Star-Spangled Banner.'
The park is beautifully maintained, with well-marked trails and informative exhibits that bring history to life. Great historical place to visit to see the cherry blossoms when they are in bloom. You can walk along the paved path on the outside of the historical fort to see the trees. Don't forget to pay the admission fee to check out the fort too.

I loved coming here to take engagement photos for this couple! As you can see there are a lot of different options for backdrops. Highly recommend coming here during fall as the leaves are stunning. Looking forward to coming back here to take more photos of my favorite couples.
They have it. Very well stocked. 20$ more then everywhere else but the variety means you'll most likely waste a trip looking for something and even if they don't have it you'll find something better.

I’m obsessed with this place, they have great variety of brands and wide range of prices for any occasion. The thing that makes it so fun for me are the delicious snacks and appetizers they sell to pair with wine. They are consistently stocked with high quality brands and new items for repeat customers to discover. The staff is also fantastic, they go out of their way to help and make recommendations.

I love stopping in here when i visit MD. You can taste different beers, wines, and liquors at the tasting bar. There are always delicious snacks to try. You can get your growler filled or get a crowler to go. Nice selection of all spirits. Great bourbon selection. Employees are friendly, helpful, and always happy to discuss whatever spirits you are tasting or buying.

Why oh why are they closed at 8pm on a FRIDAY night?!?! Three cars in the parking lot and rude employee ran out and locked the door at 8:02?! Port Tack, Cheers Wine all 2 miles away are open until 9. Guess where we are headed from now on? And with Port Tack and Cheers you don’t have to practically risk your life to leave the parking lot. We are not going to even bother with this place anymore. Too many other places locally with better parking and location.

The place is really awesome! The staff member who showed me the NA beverages was extremely helpful, taking lots of time to explain the advantages and disadvantages of each beverage. They have a really nice happy hour and some snacks to go along with the drinks. I will be happily returning!

Great selection of beer and they have a nice cheese/appetizer section. Definitely grab a pint of the frozen cream of crab soup to go… it doesn’t disappoint.

Such a unique and eclectic store, always many new craft beers and wines to try when I stop by. Extremely well staffed so it's always quick service no matter how busy they get.. which is busy! Be careful getting in and out of a sometimes hectic parking lot.

The selections of beer and wine are outstanding but what really shines is the customer service. I was planning on hosting a dinner for friends and needed both a beer and a wine. They provided several recommendations and after making my choices, I can say that the recommendations were spot on. I'll definitely be back.

This place is honestly amazing, they even have a cheese expert. I've been going here for years and years and that lady has gone on overseas trips in the name of cheese research, this place is the best cheese place. Which gives it 5 stars from me, also if they have it I recommend the "midnight moon cheese" though it's a bit hard to come by.

I love getting my gourmet cheeses and baguettes there, however, today, a big dog was in residence all over the store. Not only coming up and pushing behind me (and I am very afraid of dogs) but it was also allowed behind the cheese counter and was overly petted by those who prepare the food for sale. Sorry, this does not set well with me.
Nice people, great booze and food selections, bad sanitary practices.

Aircraft & artifacts reflecting history of Dover Air Force base in a restored WW II hangar.
We were so fortunate that we got an opportunity to visit this beautiful place. Loved to see all the planes. They had two planes open for visitors where we could see the inside of the planes. This was the first time I entered a military aircraft. It was indeed an awesome experience!!!!

Took the kids here for a fun day trip. We were not disappointed! It was a fantastic museum with great exhibits, and friendly staff. The majority of the staff members are Air Force and Navy veterans that are very knowledgeable on the aircraft and supporting equipment. You may request for a tour guide at no cost also. We loved this museum and highly recommend you take stop by for a visit. Additionally, there are free to use wheelchairs and motorized mobility scooters. We are planning a future revisit for sure.

This place is amazing. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There is so much to see and learn about that we take for granted every day, but you can learn easily here. It's free, but you can give a donation ( cash) . There's so much to say about it; definitely come see, bring a donation, buy something in the small shop, and take lots of pictures!!!!!

This place is great. Recommend a tour from one of the retired guys. The cost is donations only (my kind of price - free)! Inside museum and outdoor airplane graveyard. Several planes that you can go in. Lots of history and one of a kinds. I am not a big Airplane guy, but it was very interesting. I do like history and how things work. I had three teenagers and they also enjoyed it. Visited on a Friday, but don't think it gets too busy any day of the week.

What a great and historical gem. The staff on site are very knowledgeable and nice. The C-5 flies over us everyday and to walk in one you realize how big it really is. I love WW2 history and they have a nice display.....well done! I plan on going back soon as the first time we were there close to closing and I want to really take it all in

Absolutely loved this place. My girlfriend is 20 year retired Air Force herself. So it was cool to go see it with her. Then she was ab to take me on the actual base also. That was awesome to. They have guides that tell you about all the stuff there and they are very knowledgeable. They even have the old flight tower you can go up and hear the chatter from the planes coming and going.
Bernie Gardula — Google review
This museum rivals any other aircraft museum in the world. Having visited the Smithsonian Udvar Hazy center earlier this year, that should help understand the gravity of my statement.
The quantity of aircraft not only on display, but also able to enter and explore is astounding. Some of these aircraft can’t be found anywhere else in the world.
The real show stopper is the C-47 that dropped the 101st Airborne on D-Day and Market Garden. Again, not only on display but also available to enter and check out with your own hands. Astounding. The aircraft is complete with battle damage from D-Day as confirmed by the former crew chief when he visited years ago.
I have never felt history like this place. Having just recently watched Band of Brothers also made this exhibit hit hard.
I also have to brag on the staff. The museum was hosting two special events the day we visited which had the small crew of volunteers spread thin. The museum operations manager (Michael) saw that my family wasn’t able to see some areas because of the events and offered to personally take us into the control tower and the C-47…and he did it with a smile.
Being located within an active Air Force base is a huge plus. The chance to see active aircraft flying is very high. We were lucky enough to see a C-17 doing touch and goes right next to the parking lot.
Lastly, the gift shop. They could do like other places and gouge visitors, but they don’t. Everything is very reasonable. Even the snacks/drinks.
Make the drive from DC or Philly to see this museum. You won’t regret it.

My wife and I had a blast looking at everything in this Museum. There was an Air Force veteran hanging out when we got there. He offered to give us a tour. It was great. He spent two hours walking us around and giving us good history lesson on everything in the museum. The tour of the C5 Galaxy is the best part of it.

First timer here. Loved the experience! Free entry, plenty of parking, lovely veteran volunteers. There were three to four planes open for a tour inside. There is a hanger where there are a few exhibits but most of the actual planes are outside.
Ajimon Thomas — Google review
Lots of planes here some rare ones that you don't find in other museums. I suppose it's because they are predominantly cargo planes as that's what's mostly been based at dover. They have some ww2 aircraft inside that are nicely setup. They also have the only C5 available to tour.

Great Veterans running this great Gem to learn from the men that experienced it personally...the kids will absolutely love it and all the planes and gift shop and plenty of parking . Don't forget to take the kids up to the control tower... awesome.. admission is free and no wait or tickets required but tips or donations are appreciated as they work really hard to ensure your family has a great experience. Ask questions as they are very smart and knowledgeable

Highly recommend! This museum is free-of-charge, but is large, well- maintained, and is staffed by retired veteran's. They were knowledgeable and friendly. We were able to board several of the air-crafts. For reference, we are a family of 4 with two teen boys, but saw some littles enjoying themselves, as well. Our boys loved the flight simulator. We have paid to visit far less interesting places and were happy to give a donation.

Spent Father's Day visiting this museum via a Harley Davidson 50 States stop. I was just amazed at how well this museum is laid out and well documented with exhibits, stories, and airplanes you can walk in. Volunteers were amazing. Very relaxing atmosphere with no long lines or loud talking as you view the exhibits. Hall of Honor was very reverent and a must-see and experience. Job well done!

Really cool vintage aircraft on display and incredibly friendly veterans to help guide you through. It’s primarily a cargo plane hub so not many fighter jets on display but you’re able to go in and out of many of the old cargo planes. Air Force Two on display too.

This is a wonderful experience for children and adults as well who love planes. We visited this FREE museum at the Dover AFB on August 13, 2023 where you will find full size Military Aircrafts including the Air Force One Plane and so many others. Wonderful Veterans give you a full tour in detail. We were able to go inside of many if the planes at the museum but visit early in the summer as it gets hot fast inside. They even have a control tower you can climb and view. The gift shop had some neat artifacts for purchase as well. Highly, highly reccommended.

Beautiful plantation! Unfortunately the house was not open for a tour when we were there, but we toured the grounds. Informative video shown first in the barn was interesting and the staff nice!

We visited the plantation at 3:00 pm. The last guided tour started at 3:30 pm, so first we watched a documentary about John Dickinson’s life, we went to check his plantation, and then his home. The guide was really knowledgeable and helpful. We learned that the local historical society is investigating about this great politician and businessman. Dickinson is also remembered as a personality who helped actively to emancipate the African American community and find their own independence. You will not be asked to pay, but donations are always accepted! Not thrilled about the bottom floor is still shutdown, due to COVID…

Docents are very knowledgeable. Friendly & personable as well. So glad I visited after seeing a posting on Facebook that there would be a small colonial exhibition event. I haven't been there in a number of years. Yet even though it was a rather cloudy & dreary day, I was so happy to have made the trip... other people don't realize what they're missing...a thoroughly delightful visit!

Wonderful stop. Spent about an hour touring the house (our guide was very knowledgeable) but we couldn't see all of the house as the upper floors were closed. Watched a very interesting video at the Welcome Building and got our National Park Stamp. Great staff. I think the only negative was they offered no merchandise to purchase that would help visitors remember their stop. But that said, this was well worth the stop.

Interesting place to learn some historical facts about one of the lesser known founding fathers. This place gives you a glimpse to the times where slave labor was used for farming. They have an actually replica hut of were slaves lived. Great experience and out tour guide was very knowledgeable and nice. Some of the structures were close and the tour is limited to the mansion and not the surrounding structures.

An interesting place to visit, but I would not make a special trip to Dover for a visit. The property is well cared for with beautiful lawns and well maintained buildings. There is a lot to be learned about John Dickinson who many of us do not realize his impact on the creation of the United States. We were there in early August after many days of rain so to truly enjoy the grounds insect repellant was needed.

Informative historical home. Not the best history but, still the history of the Dover,De area Short orientation film at the barn near parking lot. Placards along the wall giving a deeper insight into the homestead. A brief walk brings you to the main house. Here we had a very knowledgeable and pleasant guide named Chris. He was able to answer all our questions about architecture to daily life during an age long gone by. No fees charged though donations were gladly given.

Funland on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk is a great place to go with your family, as they have many rides that will excite everyone. While it can get crowded in there, it's worth it to try some of their classic games as well.
This little amusement park/games center is a slice of history, a family-owned business, and a fun place to take kids for an afternoon. The rides are mainly geared towards kids up to and including highschoolers, but a few of the rides could be enjoyed by adults as well. You pay for rides by buying sheets or books of tickets in advance, then pay before you get on the rides. Bigger rides cost more tickets. There are pay-as-you-go games for prizes, and coin-operated games that eject tickets which you exchange for prizes. Skee-Ball, too. Great way to spend an afternoon near the Reheboth Beach boardwalk for young and old alike.

Fun location for younger kids! Must check out but expect your kid to want to win something.
This place is a lot of fun especially for the kids. They have a lot of Old school/retro kids games and rides. A lot of the rides are more geared towards kids younger than 5 and they do have a maximum height restriction. They also have many different games. Some games are simple and some are tough. All fun though.
Great place to go on a rainy day as that is when we went and glad we got to check it out. The kids were happy with their prize.
Overall, it is worth checking out if you have younger kids. A lot of fun for them, but expect to spend a little bit a couple dollars here and there to play or ride rides.

Not gripes but the line is long. Cars are not that big. Cramped for 2 adults and a 7 yr old. Bummer that next year we'll be splitting up cars.
It was a Wednesday night and packed up to closing.

Super fun place for families! There was something for everyone. My kids had an amazing time! It can get very busy but that's expected during the summer months.
Great relax spot. Nice town with small boardwalk and cute shops, etc. The inadequate parking is a pain! Be careful so your car doesn't get towed from a side street. Wide variety of food from Five Guys to Subway to pricier restaurants. Public restrooms are clean, no changing in there though. Rehoboth Beach is one of many beaches along Delaware's coast on the Atlantic Ocean. All beaches often rank high in water quality. A few things to note about Rehoboth Beach after visiting during the off-season during the winter:
1) Beach: It's a long beach kept clean. During the off season, locals can be seen walking along the beach for hours or working out along the beach and on the wooden planks that dip into the water. The waves are beautiful.
2) Boardwalk: It's an almost 150-year-old boardwalk with all the things during the main season from arcades to doughnuts to ice cream. When we went during the winter, most shops were closed.
3) Access: There are many entry points along the boardwalk, making it easy to come and go from the beach.
Austin Graff — Google review
A great beach, but the waves can and will take you down if you're not vigilant. It's also an exceptionally clean beach since glass bottles and smoking were banned on the beach and most parts of the boardwalk. Just keep in mind that the beach officially closes at one in the morning, and camping is not allowed on the beach. However, there are plenty of campgrounds within 5-10 miles of Rehoboth.

I went to Rehoboth Beach last year with my mom. It was okay, not the best beach I’ve been to. It was definitely overcrowded and overrated in my opinion. However, I am a person who likes some peace and quiet… so if you’re a big people person, this may be an attractive spot. I definitely recommend going to the Playa Bowls after your beach day… or if you like sweet treats… I would recommend Rita’s Gelato.

A high desire spot for tourist as well as the locals. It was so crowded people were so friendly, what a great experience.

We were here during offseason around Christmas. The beach was deserted. It was very calm, peaceful and clean. All we could hear was the crashing of the waves and some birds. There were hardly any shops opened in the Boardwalk, but there were few gift shops/restaurants opened just outside the beach in the Rehoboth avenue. Parking wasn't a problem in December and it was free. Absolutely loved it during off season and it was very relaxing. Wanted to wade in the waters barefoot, despite it being a winter. It was so cold that it gave me Brain freeze. Lol. It was a great experience though.

The trip is very nice and scenic, and the boardwalk is incredibly fun, and there is a lot to do. I recommend the daily parking if you are coming in by car and are going to spend more than 6 hours at the beach or at the boardwalk it is more affordable that way. There is quite a bit of walking, so bring comfortable shoes if you want to walk around and look at everything rehoboth has to offer.

This is a great place to come and watch the sunset. There's a place to get some food and tables to eat at and a beach to walk on and view the sunset from. I saw some amazing cloud formations the day j went with my girlfriend. Unfortunately, the sky was to cloudy that day to watch the sunset. We still had a great time and ate some food and went into one of the gift shops. Great place to bring kids as well.

Sunset Beach in Cape May offers a breathtaking experience that's hard to put into words. As the sun dips below the horizon, the sky transforms into a stunning array of warm hues, casting a golden glow on the tranquil waters. The serene atmosphere and gentle waves create a sense of calm and reflection. Visitors often gather to watch the daily spectacle and to search for Cape May diamonds, small quartz pebbles that wash ashore. It's a perfect spot for those seeking natural beauty and a peaceful moment to connect with nature.

I love this place, and it's perfectly named because we were treated with some phenomenal sunsets. I'd fish here during the mornings (clams were absolute fish magnets) catching speckled trout, dogfish and croakers. There are a couple of little shops and a place for quick bites - not a restaurant, just a little shop. Offshore is an old shipwreck as well. Since it's bayside, waves are minimal, and the slope of the shore is gentle, making it a great strolling beach that will allow young kids to run around burning off the energy I wish I had... We walked over to the inlet and got some nice photos there as well; just make a right at the shore and walk about a third of a mile, give or take. You can see the Cape May - Lewes ferry arrive and depart from here as well as do a little evening shark fishing if the mood strikes you. Great place. I admittedly am not a New Jersey fan, as my image is based on Northern New Jersey, it's traffic, and the ...assertive and direct...inhabitants I've encountered there in many past visits, but Cape May and areas like Sunset Beach and it's residents always make sure I stop judging and start appreciating

An amazing beach for sunset view. Parking will mostly be full at evening times, at that case I see people parks their car in the roadside and walk to beach to enjoy the sunset. I have been to this place 8 years back and I get the same positive vibe at this place. Staffs at the shops are friendly and welcoming. Appreciate the people visiting this place keeps clean and makes use of the trash cans. Benches are erected facing the beach. Moderately crowded beach but you will enjoy your time here. It did not disappoint. Beautiful historic scenery. Spent most of our beach time searching for ‘cape may diamonds’ and sea glass. Found a bunch plus a shark’s tooth and a fossil. Had a nice time with my husband.

This is the place to go to cleanse your soul. Something about Sunset Beach makes you let go of your troubles and put things in perspective. It is absolutely beautiful. The shop there are unique and fun and you could spend a couple hours in the crystal shop alone. If you haven't visited here yet you need to put it on your bucket list and make the time to go!

If you are looking for an uncrowded beach where the waves are gentle, this is the perfect place for you. It is a great place to fish and the sunsets are beautiful. One of the main attractions is the sunken cement ship that is just off the beach. There are 2 parking lots and street parking as well. There are 2 gift shops, a miniature golf place, and a beach grille that serves pretty good food. The larger gift shop also allows people to use the restroom, and everyone is super nice. And last but not least, you can find "Cape May Diamonds" in the sand. Highly recommend for all kinds of fun!
The World War II Lookout Tower is a former military structure that offers breathtaking views from its top. Visitors can also explore the nearby boardwalk, which features informative display boards. The tower has fewer steps than the Cape May Lighthouse, and they are wider and more even, making it a less claustrophobic experience for those who suffer from such conditions.
Mike and Peter are the best guides in all of South Jersey be sure to ask all about the tower as they will be glad to share their knowledge.
Plenty of history in one area, between here, the lighthouse, and the Atlantus ship wreck right at the shore.
You don’t really realize how much impact the area had in World War 2. Army, Navy, and Coast Guard all playing major roles. From South Jersey, to the coast of Delaware all the way up to Philadelphia the Germans were very much on home waters, even all the way down to South America. You can learn all that and more from your visit, so definitely check it out if you are in the area.

Easy climb. Completely restored and well maintained. Very knowledgable staff! Lots of historical information. Beautiful views from the top. Cost effective to buy the combo pass with Cape May Lighthouse. Also be sure to check out Sunset Beach and the SS Atlanus shipwreck just down the road. Schedule varies be sure to check hours the tower us open.

WWII lookout tower. Short climb. Guide and information inside tell about an interesting piece of history.

Really cool piece of American history. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children if you are interested in going to the top of the observation tower. Lots of informative signs, books, and pamphlets available. Parking along side of road. Nearby shops, beach, food, and other sights to see.

Very cool historical place to visit. The man in the top of the tower was very informative and shared great pieces of information pertaining to the history of the tower.

Worth a visit if you’re into history at all. $8 for an adult to climb 102 steps to the top. Bits of history sprinkled along the way. The two men working were knowledgeable and friendly. Great views of the beach and ferry landing from above.

Historical pictures and facts. They even share some stories. Not as many stairs as it looks and inside isn't really cramped. Nice break from beach while still seeing it and able to go back after.

Local Tower was a great historical stop in our time in Cape May. History stops on every flight climbing up the tower and when you reach the top there's a local historian who knows tons of information on area in the history of the Tower. Definitely learned a lot of information and then view from atop the Tower is quite beautiful.

It was a fun experience if you like world war stuff. It was also a great way to honor the veterans. Also I like the experience of going inside a ww2 lookout tower. It has a lot of stairs to get to the top if you don’t like stairs or heights this might not be the one for you but you should def try it. The parking is just on the side of the street and you have to pay 8$ to get inside.

This place is awesome - much less terrifying than the Lighthouse. The two guys staffed there at the time were amazing, very knowledgeable and friendly. I can't tell for sure how many steps there were because I was slightly panicking, but I'd guess fewer than half of Cape May Lighthouse, and they are much wider and more even than those at the Lighthouse. Also much roomier, less claustrophobic than the Lighthouse. The view from the top is fantastic. You can see a little Lighthouse out on the horizon through the telescope & there is a very clear view of the USS Atlantus. There's a huge parking lot (free) directly across the street. Definitely visit if you're in the area.

Very cool little museum and interesting piece of history! Friendly staff! Excited to come back and see if they sell magnets next time! 😉
The Cape May Lighthouse is a renowned historical structure located in New Jersey. It boasts picturesque views from its vantage point and also features an oil house-turned-museum with a gift shop. As one of the top 50 attractions, it draws many visitors each year to Cape May Point State Park. With its impressive collection of lighthouses, the Cape May Lighthouse undeniably stands out as a must-visit landmark for anyone interested in history and architecture.
I was surprised at how pretty the grounds were as well as the natural area surrounding the lighthouse. It's pretty tall, so expect a climb. It's worth taking an hour or so to cruise the grounds and see the water birds in the local ponds. The swans are beautiful. Ample parking and relatively level, so it's a pretty easy stroll

The view is definitely worth the 199 stair climb. Don't worry there are landings every 30 steps or so. I purchased my lighthouse passport book in the museum and got my first stamp today! The nature trails are easily accessible to wheelchairs, strollers and pedestrians. Today was a great day to see migrating birds and so many bird watchers were there with their cameras and bird watching equipment. As a motorcycle passenger and rider, my husband and I are making our way around the state visiting the light houses of NJ. This was our 3rd one this year and was definitely worth the two hour scenic ride.

Loved walking up to the lookout tower in the light house! Pro tip: it is 199 steps. Children are welcome. Great views from the top! Great walks to the pond, in the marsh or pineland area or trails to the beach. Ample parking. Will return often and you should too!

While on a weekend spent at the shore with family, we enjoyed a beautiful day that included visiting the Cape May NJ Lighthouse. The lighthouse is beautiful. Most of my family hiked the stairs up through the lighthouse, but I chose to sit on an outside bench and watch the scenery. I have a spinal fusion, otherwise I would have climbed the stairs--around 200 of them!

We did a 3 day excursion around Cape May
and missed the lighthouse at our last visit due to inclement weather. The 199 step illuminated spiral staircase ascent didn’t feel like a lot because of the landing areas filled with historical photos. Loved the fresh air at the top and the 360 degree view which gave a new perspective of where everything was. We didn’t explore some of the trails because they eventually intersected with the beach and we didn’t have the appropriate footwear. They have a gift shop, local museum and a friendly Visitor center where we chatted about the lantern flies detected up there a few years ago. I try to kill as many as possible and educated some visitors to do the same.
There’s ample parking and well kept grounds, I’ve even noticed some people picnicking while enjoying the scenery.

Great conversation with lighthouse keeper. About 10+ minutes to climb up the stairs. Well kept territory with public restrooms and a little free and highly informative nature museum. Kids will like it. Good way to the ocean but we skipped it due to high winds.

Standing majestically against the backdrop of the endless Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean, the lighthouse offers a mesmerizing experience. Its towering presence is not just a beacon for sailors but also a symbol of resilience and guidance. Climbing to the top with 199 steps rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views, making it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a unique and unforgettable experience

Cape May is a nice place to visit anytime of the year. Myself, I tend to enjoy to go now. Springtime. The crowds are smaller and so are the sweat beads. And, most importantly, the birds are so so so plentiful. From the arriving, amazing Ospreys to the beautiful, exotic, departing Snowy Owl. If you are a photographer, this is the time to be here. 😊

Visit time and again, and you can always enjoy something new. There is more to see than the lighthouse. Today we walked out to the nature observation decks and hiked a trail that ran along the dunes and returned with a stroll down the beach back toward the lighthouse (all we trekked was pet friendly). There are other nature walks that go deeper into the protected lands where bird watching is amazing (but this hike does not welcome pets). There is a small lighthouse museum, picnic facilities, and of course, the beautiful lighthouse, all nestled in Cape May Point, a lovely place to drive through a see in the southern-most point of NJ. This would be a great bike ride, or drive there and then hike the area. It is also a great visit any time of year - we arrived in January and enjoyed the slower crowds on a sunny day in the low 50s.

Pretty neat place to visit. I love going to light houses so this was on my list - but there’s also a cool world war 2 bunker right by it- so it’s neat seeing history too. It also has great views of the beach.

We stopped in on a Saturday in mid-February and really enjoyed climbing to the top. There are 199 steps but little books going up so you can stop and take a look out of the windows and maybe catch your breath if you need to. The stairs are wide but you might have to pause in a nook if people are coming down as you are going up and vice versa. Once at the top, you can walk around the platform. Be forewarned it could be windy up there and it was the day we went. As soon as you step out of the door there is a sign that says “No Shouting” which was probably a good idea because I immediately hollered because the wind was so strong. No need to worry tho, you are caged in and can’t fall off. Hold onto your hat tho. There was an admission fee but it was well worth it. The volunteers were nice. There was plenty of parking. I see in their website they do special events - stairway to the stars at night probably would be very cool.

A beautiful classic lighthouse on the beach. A must stop location when visiting Cape May. Be prepared to make the walk to the top its a little bit of a trek but week worth it for the breathtaking views of the area. Between the lighthouse and the defense tower you will definitely get your exercise for the day!

The tour of the Lighthouse was so much fun. The staff are very knowledgeable and have fascinating stories about the history of the lighthouse. Once you get to the top, there are beautiful views of the beach, the WWII bunker and most of Cape May! I would highly recommend and go again.

Cape May Lighthouse When visiting this lighthouse, you have to climb 200 steps to reach the top where, as expected, you can see the entire beach and a good part of the city. It is open to the public for visitation. It was built in 1859

This was a fun lighthouse. 199 steps up. Great views from the top. There are trails to the beach and other areas. Visitor center, museum, and a gift shop. Could spend a couple hours here. We did stay and have lunch after the climb. And they had a huge grassy area to run our son around catching a football.

Great quiet beach to chill for the day 🏖️. Many paths to walk and bird watch. Off season is the best time to go and picnic on the beach. Not the soft sand that you'd find elsewhere on the Jersey shore. Nonetheless it's a nice beach. Free ample parking and public restrooms.

Cape May is the southern tip of New Jersey. This is also the southern most beach on the Jersey Shore. On the eastern shore of the Cape is the Atlantic Ocean and on the western shore is the mouth of the Delaware River. Weather systems and currents mix off the point. Miles of beaches, a large boardwalk biking, walking, fishing and plenty of restaurants make for a great vacation spot. We came in February to avoid the crowds and see the beach and a dramatic sky. Ice clouds and a bright sun preceded a snowstorm. This made for great photo opportunities. We scurried home on the Parkway before the storm. Snow plows were staging all along the Garden State Parkway that night.

Nice site at Cape May that adds to the charm of this beach area. It was kinda busy, and I didn't want to wait to go up, because I only had so much time. These are awesome places, so definitely plan on going to the top. There is also the remains of a WWII bunker on the nearby beach.

Northside Park is a large public recreation area in Ocean City with a variety of amenities for visitors, including sports fields, playgrounds, and an indoor facility with a gym. The park hosts more than 100 special events and recreational programs each year, making it one of the most popular in Ocean City.
Gorgeous park. It’s well-kept, there are some beautiful views especially at the pier, the playground has all sorts of fun little rides on it, there’s even a shaded exercise area with a fence so kids below 10 can’t enter. There are informative posts about animals and plants the further you get into its more natural areas. I clearly didn’t take enough pictures but honestly there’s enough to do that I’m sure most people couldn’t.
We visited during the off-season and it was a bit windy but we still had a ton of fun!

We were in Ocean City in the off season and happened upon the Winterfest lights in Northside Park. The park is big and the light displays were beautiful. Walked around for an hour plus just checking everything out. Loved the "12 days of Christmas" themed displays.
They offer a hot chocolate stand on the grounds but mostly just people milling around looking at the lights. There is a parking lot right next to it and we didn't have trouble finding a spot, but they were set up for much larger crowds than we saw on our trip. I would guess the closer to Christmas you get, the more crowded it will be. So, be prepared.

This was near our hotel and with 6 kids in tow we stopped in to check it out. The park was fun for all ages from 2-12. Kids loved fishing and crabbing in the lake. The have a couple small piers which we were lucky enough to get. The kids learned to "crab" by watching a gentleman that was there before we arrived. He gave the kids a piece of string with chicken tied to the end. That was all that was needed for hours of entertainment for the kids, and the parents were happy to relax for a bit.

Northside Park was a nice park to visit for a change of pace from the beach and boardwalk. Plenty of benches throughout. Small dock for fishing the pond. Pavilion shaded with picnic tables by playground. Nice baseball fields. A dog friendly walking trail with doggie stations. Nice safe and decent size playground with good play structures. Restroom facilities attached to the concession stand as well as attached to the field house/concession stand for soccer fields by the wetlands walkway and a port-o-potty by the playground. Plenty of parking all around the walking trail to access the park. Some stationary workout equipment. A flag memorial. Kayak rentals available. Wide open fileds with grassy areas. Soda vending machines, water fountains, a concession stand for in-season baseball/softball games. Nice views throughout the park and definitely put on the Wetlands Pier. I didn't even know there is ice skating place in Ocean city. I visited with my kids and friend's family. Kids really enjoyed indoor ice skating.
YuMi Lee — Google review
Number 1: The ice rink was very hard to skate on due to the walkers. The metal from the walkers made the ice rink not smooth which is not how it is supposed to be and there were no wipes for the walkers even though they said there were. Number 2: The skates that they gave me were dirty and the laces on the skate stunk. The skates I got were not sprayed with the cleaning supplies even though they were supposed to be. Number 3: The people there are so rude we said “hello” to them but we didn’t get a response we said it again and then the guy walked away then a women came up and we said “hi” to her but ignored us then she finally took our skate size. Number 4: The people in the ice rink were going the wrong way and were cutting in front of you and zoomed past you.
The only thing that was good was that they had the Grinch there for the kids handing out mini candy canes.

Always love taking the kids there!! The only thing that they should do is get new skates there's are wicked used so you probably will have to re-lace them every time you go around the rink. If you don't you and your kids will most likely fall continuously.

My daughter’s birthday request was to come skating. Upon entering, the rink was vacant. We thought we were getting lucky but that was not the case.
The ice skates available are extremely worn out. It was very difficult to stand up without the blades bowing due to excessive wear of the skates. Furthermore, the laces were soaked and had a repulsive odor.
The walkers available did little to assist the kids in learning how to skate, as they did not glide on the ice what so ever.
Lastly the ice was very “rough” and difficult to skate on, aside from the giant puddle on the rink.
Unfortunately, we spent twenty minutes in total before my kids declared they were not enjoying the experience. For a family of four that was a very quick $60 down the drain.
