Stones River National Battlefield is a 570-acre park and cemetery that features well-marked trails and a visitor center, which provides information about the Civil War battlefield. The visitor center was designed to teach visitors about the site's history while remaining respectful towards fallen soldiers and apolitical. The National Park Service did an excellent job of presenting the information without bias towards any side of the battle - there was no mention of which party emerged victorious.
A very nice day for a visit. The driving tour is great, but it is walkable and great for bicycles. Something for everyone of all ages. Sites are well marked and easy to find. There is a self guided audio tour which is very helpful. Also very sobering to think of the number of casualties. You can spend as little or as long as you like exploring the park. Download the National Park Service app before you go.

Really great national historic site with a lot of intentionality put into capturing the history and events that took place. A few monuments that you were able to go see (accessible by walking) definitely add to the experience. This is a park that enables you to stop by on a day trip to Murfreesboro and is generally accessible by car. There’s pretty great biking infrastructure, and a visitor center that allows visitors to walk through a chronological record of “Hell’s Half Acre”
Zak Myers — Google review
Well designed visitor center that allows you to learn about the site and battle while also remaining respectful to the fallen soldiers and remaining apolitical. The NPS did a nice job of presenting this without a prejudice for one side being better or worse--specifically I didn't recall seeing any information on which side won the battle.
It's about 8 minutes from the interstate and you can enjoy the full visitor center experience in as little as 30 minutes.

If you are looking for a outing with the family or just want to get out and learn about the civil war and the struggles these men went through. This place is one of the largest battles and most causalities occurred in a short three day period. It’s humbling to walk amongst the soldiers graves and see the many that gave their lives during the battle.
They have a guided tour you can take or you can go in your vehicle and drive among the trail to the actual battlefield places.Such a great trip for learning and seeing what they went through.

We are always pursuing more passport stamps! My kids enjoyed the Visitor Center and the drive through the battleground and past the Stone River National Cemetery. We saw 4 wild turkeys as we drove in and they "talked back" when my girls called to them "Gobble, gobble, gobble!" Junior Ranger activity books are free for kids, and completing one will earn them a badge. We spent some time (and money) in the gift shop... a bird guide, a couple children's books, Christmas ornament, and more stickers to stamp for our forgotten at home passport! Also there was a book for Family Activities. I do recommend as a great place to visit and learn some history and about local wildlife. There is a short educational film that shows reenactments (including head wounds and dead bodies) my girls found this a bit upsetting and said, "I hate wars, they make people die!" In my opinion, that's an excellent take away! I enjoyed the quotes from Ed Abbott.

Just stumbled onto this on our trip as we were making a stop in Murfeesboro and had some downtime to be able to visit this battlefield. Neat little battlefield that is very accessible to walk around, drive to and spend an easy 1-2 hours here tops.
You will not be spending hours and hours here to see everything but for a a battlefield I didn't know exist before visiting, it was worth a little detour to get out and stretch our legs.
Mr. Whiskers — Google review
This park is awesome. Unfortunately, the history behind it is not, but the presentation of the history and historical facts at the time is just great. It is also horrifying at times to realize what those soldiers went through.
I highly recommend taking in the whole park. It is truly an experience. The slaughter pen is unbelievable, especially when you realize the horrifying battle that occurred there.
The folks at the visitor center were extremely helpful and friendly.
Do not miss out on this park for sure if you are in the area.

This is a battle field during the Civil War. This park you can drive to locations within the park to see certain important locations. You have an option to hear free audio (off your phone from a number you call) of the area you are in. If you enjoy history this can be a nice place to visit.

There has definitely been a lot of work put into this place lately. I haven't gone here since I was a kid on a field trip. There are bike Lanes car Lanes and just beautiful surroundings. We even got to see deer!

Stones River is nice to have in town for a casual stroll. Today was a great fall day! Those who are into history will find this place rich with information about a time before..

I appreciated that it was possible to visit this despite not having a lot of time. I was able to complete the visitor center and 5 of the outdoor sites in about 1.5 hours.
The rock formations in the Slaughter Pen were interesting.
James Milks — Google review
Tucked into a city, this is a great place to see nature. I was surrounded by deer the morning I was there. As far as following the battle, it's not the easiest place to do so. If you have knowledge of the battle then what you see and walk/drive to would make some sense. There are very few plaques and almost no monuments. The visitor center is nice and the rangers there are very knowledgeable. Having the natl. Park app helps to follow along some of the high points that are preserved within the park.
brian schroeder — Google review
We did the booklets for junior rangers- ages 13-6 and it was fun. The books will be updated to the park for better outlining they stated, as it was a bit all over the place where to find the clues. The staff were super friendly & engaging. We absorbed history & discussed many aspects of war and the struggles as well as that each longed for home. They had audio to listen to writings. The only downfall we had was the field being sprayed where the tombstones were and figuring how to maneuver out without inhaling or getting on shoes. Cross walks have buttons you press to alert passing street to different portions to the park. Very clean bathrooms and great gift shop. Highly recommend the park.
Melanie Cain — Google review
We will have to come back on a warmer day to walk the trails, but the driving tour was fun and perfectly fit the hour of free time we had while in the area. The visitors center was informative and rangers were friendly and helpful.

Humbling to say the least, a great spot loaded with history. An interesting multi stop tour of the battlefield, a cemetery, a nice museum & gift shop.

The visitors center was great! We were greeted with a smile and given a map. We toured the small museum which was very informative and nicely laid out. The outdoor area had a a few monuments and fields but left a lot to be desired. I definitely recommend if you enjoy taking a walk and learning about history.

The place features various historical buildings such as a gristmill, a school house, and a general store among others. Visitors can explore the village at their own pace and learn about its historical significance through QR codes placed on the buildings. What a cool place to spend the afternoon! We loved strolling through the grounds at our own pace to explore the history of our town. So unique and educational!

What a fun, and free, stop! World's (new) Largest Cedar Bucket, really neat old buildings and history. The QR codes on the buildings are a great touch so you can see the interiors even when they are closed!
Be sure to stop by the cute little gift shop for some yummy ice cream, neat trinkets, a site brochure, clean bathrooms, and an informative talk by the employees who work there!

Nice way to spend an afternoon. While the structures are of olden times, most buildings have been moved here from other places in Tennessee. It was educational to look inside the buildings to see how people lived, worked, and played back yonder. Plenty of parking.

Decided to check out a few places in Murfreesboro ( visiting Tennessee). This place is a nice place to bring kids if your in to history. Period correct buildings, nice vintage tractor display and the staff was friendly and informative. No reenactment while I was here but I understand at times there is. It's free!!! And just across the creek is a nice place to picnic.

Great walk through past living conditions. Kind staff, simple layout but go at your own pace. Restrooms available across grounds & visitor center helpful & has cute items to purchase by locals. Oct 28 2023 will be Harvest Day fun, sorry to miss. Blacksmith wasn’t on staff and no guided tour but fun time w the kids and played checkers on the grounds!

Cannonsburgh is so much fun to visit - whether a regular workday or a weekend festival. The pioneer era village is highly detailed and set up to view inside. Usually there are artisans and staff there to explain the equipment and settings. Many beautiful weddings have been held there and every time we have gone we’ve seen some great live music and dancing.

Very well maintained and historical info was interesting. It is worth seeing and fills in a two hour time period. Check it out!

Totally free 1880 old town experience, but if you enjoyed you should leave a tip, the woman was super friendly, she gave us a introduction, you will spent one hour to see all the buildings, its a clean place, they have outdoor tables to play chess, 5 stars

History is always interesting especially when it's presented to you with actual examples from the past. For me, it's amazing to see how well they were able to construct their facilities and machinery in those days. It was all available to see and review. Well worth the trip for me.

Went on a dreary, drizzly, rainy day so not all the buildings were open but definitely enjoyed it and learned a lot! Dont have room to post all my pictures on here but definitely a lot of history to be learned!!
Went into art league which is also located here, talked to a couple ladies, looked at the art for sale, a lot of hidden talent there!

Lotz House Museum is a historic house museum in Franklin, Tennessee that has exhibits about the history of the Civil War and German immigrants.
If you are interested in American history you will enjoy touring his house. The man who built it was a wood worker and he used this house to showcase his talent. The staircase is beautifully made as well as many other details in the home. The house was located in the middle of the historic Battle of Franklin. There are still bullet holes in the house. They don’t allow photos to be taken inside. They have a gift shop if you would like to purchase a souvenir.

We visited the Lotz House this week during the Christmas/New Year Break. Our tour guide was Thomas and he was fantastic. Trust me, this tour is worth it and if you’re lucky enough to get Thomas as your guide, you will have a great, educational and entertaining visit.

Definitely different than any other guided tour we've taken. Chuck was great, he made it fun for everyone. He was engaged with his audience and made it personable for all, we were in a larger crowd too-5 or 6 different parties, around 12 to 15 people total. Very impressed.

Great experience. Our tour guide was JT and his knowledge of the original owners of the home plus knowledge of the history surrounding them and the battle was incredible. He is very animated with his telling of the history which makes you feel like you were actually there when battle happened. Well worth the trip!

Great tour for the history buffs and those that enjoy viewing historic buildings! Tour guide was hilarious and very knowledgeable about the surrounding civil war battles (could point out where your state's regiments were off the top of his head) and what happened to the family living in the house. Beautiful period furniture and wallpapers make you feel as if you stepped back in time.

Such a beautiful history rich home. Our tour guide, Chuck, made the experience even better - answering all our questions about the house and the battle of Franklin.

Truly awesome tour! I've taken both the Ghost Tour and the regular day time tour. The Ghost Tour is on Saturday nights after normal hours. For this you need to get your tickets in advance but it is worth it! Our guide Kelly was very knowledgeable about the Ghost that occupy the home. She shared stories, photos, video and recording of paranormal events. A couple of weeks later I went back for the history tour which is during the day. Our guide Chuck was so good and had so much knowledge and history to share. I learned so much about the Lotz family from the tour,if you're in the Franklin/Nashville area you should try to take the time for the tour you will be grateful you did

3 stars because We got stuck with Kelly. The history of the Lotz house and the house itself was great. Our experience not so much. From the beginning with just paying for our tickets she was smiley and bubbling but also passive aggressive in her tone and wording. We saw one price oone but she was telling us a different price. We had our children with us who are big into history and do so well at these types of events. We visit a lot of houses/museums and never had an issue. They asked her a few questions. It seemed to have been a bother to her. She was so passive aggressive it was almost unbearable. Even other adults on the tour couldn’t believe how she responded.
She told other people in the tour not to touch or lean on anything even against a solid wall (which we get) but yet she leaned on wall after wall as she talked. As an adult I asked her a question which I turn she gave a very passive aggressive and stupid answer to a question I didn’t ask. Had she listened and heard what I was asking, there would have been no need for her comments. If it was not for the “all sales final, we would have asked for a refund and left.”
She also kept putting her hands on my kids and touching them. So weird for never having met them.
We overheard the other tour going on and that gentleman was fantastic. He also chatted with us before and after and was so great!
If you go, I would ask for the make tour guide. Especially if you have children.

This evening my 13 year old daughter and I took the Women’s History Tour at the amazing Lotz House. I’ve been on Kelly’s day time tour of the home before, so I knew it would be great, but I was absolutely blown away by the evening tour! She is incredibly knowledgeable and easily brought to life some incredible women of Franklin, as well as a few others who weren’t from the area, but have had a great impact on our country. I really appreciated how she talked about the seemingly mundane aspects of life that relate to all of us today, to sharing some of the fantastic stories that were these women’s’ lives and experiences! On the way home, my daughter couldn’t stop talking about what she learned and how much she enjoyed the tour-and coming from a teenager, I think that alone speaks volumes! I grew up in Franklin and tonight Kelly gave me a new appreciation and love for my hometown. So thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us this evening, Kelly, and I sure hope this tour is an opportunity that more people will take advantage of, whether they live in the area or are visiting!

JT was an amazing tour guide! I walked away really having an appreciation for the history and his historical knowledge! I give this tour an A+++! If you're in Tennessee tell your Uber driver to drive you to Franklin for the Lotz House tour. You will not be disappointed! They also have a small bit impressive Civil War gift shop! I can't wait to return!
Carter House is a restored 1830s home that served as a Civil War command post. During the Battle of Franklin on November 30, 1864, the Carter family huddled in the basement waiting for gunfire to stop. The house is now a state historic site and visitors can learn about the battle from artifacts on display.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of The Carter House. Our guide was very knowledgeable and was quick to answer our many questions. She told us about the horrific battle that took place on the grounds of the property. She pointed out the bullet holes in the walls and furniture. I took photographs of the outside and of the grounds. They do not permit pictures to be taken inside of the big house. They do allow photos to be taken in the small house and log house. From the inside one of them, you can see the enormity of the bullets fired. If you are in the area, you won’t regret checking it out.

This is a great little gem tucked into Franklin. It’s a rather simple tour, but the tour guide (Sheila) made the specific battle story come alive. She knew her history, explained it with clarity, connected with her group, and made it a memorable experience.
I would suggest going here first before stopping at the Carnton Plantation.

The tour itself was cool, but our tour guide made the experience! She reached in and gave you such a heartfelt experience, not just a tour. Believe me when I say Kristie was the perfect person to show us the emotion behind it all! I will never look at the war the same. She showed us through their eyes! Thank You for loving what you do and the people you talk about!
Leisa Orr — Google review
The tour was $20 and incredibly informative (it started at 2:15pm and took at least an hour), lots of dates, names and details. Great tour guide who really cares about accuracy over embellishment, much appreciated!
As posted, pictures were not allowed inside the Carter House but we took several photos of the grounds and exteriors of buildings.
The home is going to have some paint work done in the near future to more closely match colors of that timeline. Walking in the basement was neat, they had chairs lined up around the perimeter for each person that had been documented as taking shelter there (including the Lotz family from across the street), so that was a heck of a visual.

We stopped in Franklin and saw the battle ground at Carter House, an amazing part of our American History. We stopped in town and look at some buildings too. So much to see and not enough time, be sure to visit St. Paul's in downtown.

Our Guide Randy was very personable and really could convey the events with the gift of storytelling. The fact so much of the Carter family's personal belongings were still there was amazing.

An interesting immersion of what it would have been like to be present during the battle at the house during the war. Wonderful house and a great lawn to walk and see depiction of what was happening before and during the battle.

Nice house and out buildings. Guide focused on distorted facts and personal opinion rather than actual historical facts. No chairs or benches in basement area.

Amazing, yet sad piece of history - great tour.
Study a little bit on the Battle of Franklin before visiting.
Make sure to walk the grounds and read the markers.
One of the most interesting artifacts in the house is the sugar chest (Google it)

A beautiful historic house on a very tragic piece of land. Caught between the Union and Confederates fighting for Franklin. You can still see the bullet holes and the cannon ball that struck the house and the work office. Very haunting. The tour was very good and I enjoyed it. Downfall is you're not allowed to take pictures inside the house.

Bill is a fabulous tour guide. This was interesting and just the right amount of time. Summer is a great time to come to avoid school field trips. We did the 930AM tour as they opened and it was perfect to beat the July heat!

Cool to see, but they tell a revisionist version of the history that includes some pretty funny outright lies. As an example they’ll tell you there were no black confederate soldiers, despite pictures of and monuments to them existing. Soon they’ll probably start telling people the burning of Atlanta was a myth too. If you have to choose go to Elm Springs in Columbia, a short drive south from there
Located in Franklin, Tennessee, Carnton is home to the McGavock Confederate Cemetery and a historical place museum with tours of the house and grounds. The porch at Carnton is where visitors can learn about the area's Civil War history through tours with production and design manager Brad Kinnison.
Carnton Plantation is an exceptionally storied home rich in Civil War history and well restored with original furnishing of the owners and period correct pieces. The guided tour is really exciting and in such detail to make you feel you were present at battle of Franklin. Leah, our tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable about the Plantation's family and their history. If you enjoy Civil War history or simply want to tour an old, well maintained and furnish 1830's-1860's mansion, you don't want to miss this place. Due to all the fragile antiques and nature of the tour, this not the best activity for young children. There is ample parking, a large vistors center and gift shop.

Very cool historical site. My parents and I went with my 11 month old twins for the basic tour. It was $18 a person. There were several other people there and I had to carry the babies because no strollers or anything are allowed in the house due to all the antique furniture and stuff in there. I only got to see two rooms before I had to leave and give the babies a snack. The rooms were beautiful and all period correct with actual belongings from the house loaned by family members. The tour guide was very informative, my parents said upstairs and downstairs was really neat. I missed most of the tour but one of the employees was really sweet and gave me a little booklet thing so I could read and look at pictures of what I missed. If you pay for the basic tour you can still walk the grounds to see the garden, slave house, smoke house, spring house etc by yourself. The ground was hilly and bumpy so I wouldn't recommend pushing a stroller on it. Everything is maintained well and there are several signs explaining what things are. Right next door is the Confederate and McGavock family cemetery (including some of the slaves). The cemetery has several signs with information about it. Pretty sad past but very interesting. There's also a gift shop there where you buy your tour ticket. I wouldn't suggest bringing any small children here because they will be bored and it will be a struggle keeping them from touching things. Anyone handicapped would have a hard time you with all the standing and steep stairs to go upstairs plus all the walking outside. They have bathrooms right by the gift shop that were mostly clean.

Amazing historic house tied to the Battle of Franklin. Emily, our guide, was incredible, sharing stories. This house served as a hospital during the battle; you can still spot some of the scars! Be sure to explore the grounds, read the markers—such a captivating tale! Imagine, 40,000 soldiers surrounded this family home during the battle. In just five hours, 9,500 soldiers on both sides were affected—mind-blowing stats! Don't miss learning about the cemetery's history.
Very clean bathrooms. Bet the gardens look amazing in the spring/summer!

We walked the grounds and read the markers. Such a fascinating story. This family home was surrounded by 40,000 soldiers during the Battle of Franklin. After just five hours 9,500 American soldiers on both sides had either been killed, were wounded or were missing. The numbers are staggering. Be sure to read about the women of the area, including Sarah Gaunt and learn about the history of the cemetery. Clean bathrooms. The grounds were stroller and walker friendly. Gardens must be beautiful in the spring/summer.

We did the plantation and battlefield tour and it was very interesting and informative. Our tour guide was Joseph and he did a fabulous job on taking a trip back in time and our group wasn’t very big but we marched a very short distance in linear formation across a small area of the battlefield and he was describing the tense moments being under a artillery barrage and me and my fiancée loved it. We will return again, great experience very polite staff in the gift shop and Joseph rocked!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Hannah Jacobs and the girls at Carnton weddings and events. Phenomenal staff and planner. Hannah is accommodating, kind, gets the job done without asking anything (she just takes action and handles all situations and problems effortlessly taking stress off couples getting married.) One of the best experiences I have had at a venue while being the wedding photographer. I absolutely loved getting to photograph and be apart of the vendor team of Carnton for our couple's day. Such a fun group of people who are ready to make wedding day dreams come true. I would recommend not only Carnton but Hannah to ALL of my clients. She is a wonderful person and wedding planner and so organized.

WONDERFUL! Our guide, Sheila, not only knew lots of facts and history, but she weaved in the personal stories, too. She really helped me understand the battle here and the family’s role. The home has been restored in a beautiful manner. Wide open grounds to explore with markers around. Be sure to check out the cemetery and walk through the garden.
It saves a few dollars to buy the combination ticket for here and Carter House nearby. Both worth a visit.

Excellent experience. Great tour. Interesting and informative. I learned some things. I won’t share all and I’ll let you experience this new knowledge yourself but do you know that Canton Plantation isn’t really a plantation, it’s a {blank}. What makes it {blank} is that instead of one cash crop it had more than one. Which ones? Well you better go find out.

Beautiful place, just don't ask the tour guide any questions. It's basically a quiet, guided tour where you listen. No interaction. The historical tour was rushed. I think if you pay this much money to go on a guided tour, your tour guide should know or be willing to answer questions at the end of her rehearsed script that they are reciting as we enter in each room. There should be a little bit of time for discussion or questions instead of feeling rushed from room to room. There are so many artifacts in every room that there's no time to actually look at them all because they only point out a certain few, and you're moving along. There wasn't a bunch of people waiting in line for a tour so we didn't need to rush. We bought the ticket package so hopefully the Carter house will be better.

We had a wonderful tour today of the house and grounds. Our tour guide was excellent. He was so informed and engaging. The group on our tour asked many questions from quizzical children to inspiring adults. We also enjoyed the book store. It provided a balanced approach in its offerings and quality. Thank you so much. Fascinating! If there was anything that I would add would be to give slaves their due by mentioning the quality of workmanship when building the house.

What an outstanding tour guide! I wish I had gotten his name, but the gentleman that hosted our tour was an amazing story teller and clearly enjoyed history.
The house and grounds are outstanding as well. Having just come off a rushed and non-interactive tour of the Hermitage, we sure appreciated this place! If you’ve got to choose between the two for some reason, come here.

My husband and I planned to visit while on our honeymoon. They were quick with their response time and very accommodating. They even offered the ‘Amazing Grace’ tour to us on a day it is not scheduled. Our tour guide was well versed and knowledgeable. Beautiful and kept property. Friendly staff. Would highly recommend!
Small-scale Tennessee whiskey producer offering bottles for sale & tours of the distillery.
Fun tour and tasting. Worth a trip!
A few miles off I-24 between Nashville & Chattanooga near Tullhoma is Cascade Hollow Distilling. Staff was excellent- friendly, helpful, and engaging. Tour was informative. Whisky is remarkable and even better than I imagined.
Bourbon is wildly popular these days. Generally TN Whisky gets less attention- which is surprising to me. Cascade Hollow Distilling is making fine (award-winning) whisky, most of it is bourbon. Standard tasting includes 4-whiskies, but I paid to upgrade to get the two extra tastes. Happy I did so!
The 12-year old single barrel was simply sublime and worth every penny. Dickel No. 12 was my 2nd favorite- great sipping whisky. I enjoyed all the whiskies I tasted.
I didn’t know much about Cascade Hollow or Dickel whisky before I visited; now I’m a fan.
All in all a great visit!

Tour was very cool. Nothing was in production but still really fun to see. Interesting to see how each distillery does it slightly different. Highly recommend stopping in

Tour guide was awesome. However opted for the more expensive tasting ($40) of 6 and found that our glasses were not as full as the others doing only the 4 tastings ($15). This made me annoyed and truly brought the experience down for me. I would highly recommend NOT doing the more expensive tasting. Absolutely not worth the drop you get.

My wife and I had an amazing experience here in January! The walking tour is very much worth the price as you can get 4 tastings or up to 6. The staff are very informative and super helpful. The site was also very interesting to learn about as it was a fully operational facility but still made it so people could see where and how their favorite whisky is made.
This wasn't our first option at all but since the "place down the road" was closed we decided to make a stop and I can say with confidence that we're glad we did. We will be back and I'd recommend this to any whiskey/whisky enthusiasts or anyone wanting to learn a little bit about Tennessee history!

What a great spot! We took our flights outside and enjoyed the company and beautiful day while taste testing. We didn't want the day to end so we bought a bottle.
Much less crowded than the spot in Lynchburg, great setting and excellent way to spend the afternoon

Fantastic tasting and tour. The tour guide we had was fantastic, really detailed history of George dickell and the distilling process. Got to walk through the fermenters and stills. The grounds are absolutely beautiful with the creek going through the property. The tasting room and post office are super cute. The whiskey is pretty good but overall lower proof.

Visited while the distillery was doing maintenance (so unfortunately couldn't see it "in action"), but they sent me an email weeks earlier (as I had booked in advance) to let me know which was thoughtful. Tour guide was very knowledgeable - I was actually the entirety of the tour group! Smaller the the larger distilleries in Kentucky, but a nice tour if you're in the area - and a nice gift shop with some exclusive bottles (which you can purchase a sample of at their bar!)

Great tour and history. I was a bit disappointed to see the price gouging in the bottle shop. I was able to purchase the exact same bottle for $20 cheaper. If you want to encourage your customers to promote your product, at least sell it at your suggested retail price.

We enjoy visiting distilleries with friends and plan a five day trip each year. This year we had Dickel and Jack on the itinerary in Tennessee following a number in Kentucky. Cascade Hollow is among my favorites. The distillery is nestled in a beautiful setting, with a comfortable boutique feel.
I was not very familiar with their spirits before visiting and I was blown away by their current offerings. My favorites were the Bottled in Bond #3 and the Single Barrel 9 year.
Spaceman was an outstanding guide and story teller, including decades of personal history. What fun! I won’t relate any so as not to spoil the impact. All my favorite tours have been guided by those with a long personal history connected with the area and distillery.
Go! Go! Go!

Nestled away on 600 acres of beautiful wooded land is the Distillery and visitors center. A natural limestone stream cuts through the property filled with tiny silver fish. The distillery uses this cool, clean spring water for the cold distilling of their first class whisky (without the "e", as George Dickel insisted). The tour of the distillery was not rushed, very informative, with plenty of time given for photographs. The process was explained well while touring through the different stages of distilling. The tour takes about an hour and can get very hot but the property has plenty of shade where points of interest are discussed. We've visited 4 distilleries, from very large flagships to tiny boutiques, we found this tour one of the very best. We enjoyed the tastings of their fine whisky, sampling the higher end of the price range, a 6 flight tasting. The whisky ranges from almost pure distilled corn whisky to the more complex blends that culminate into a smooth and silky taste. It's worth paying a little more for extra flights. There is a large gift store on the premises that stocks the medium to high valued bottles, along with caps, polo shirts and many other branded items. We would highly recommend a visit to Cascade Hollow Distillery if you are a whisky/bourbon drinker and interested in the distilling process.

The visitor center at Jack Daniel's Distillery offers guided tours and exhibits historical artifacts. It is highly recommended and provides excellent service. Visitors can purchase tour tickets online or on the day of their visit. The dry county tour option is available, with an opportunity to buy a tasting ticket for an additional cost per person. The highlight of the experience is the humorous and knowledgeable tour guide, Ms Kim. Overall, the tour is superb and highly praised by visitors who often leave with purchased bottles in hand.
This was very entertaining and informative visit. Our tour guide Brandy was awesome and funny. We did the Dry County tour with our seven family members. She made the whole story interesting so that you remain attentive all the time.
The Visitor Center was welcoming and impressive and our anticipation of great tour started from there itself. This is not just an industry but an important piece of the history and heritage. This is very inspiring story of Jack and how he made the most popular whiskey in the world.
I have visited this distillery many times in the past but I still enjoy it every time. We always bring our guests here to show them important places around here. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see the bottling department running or charcoal making process by burning the wood during any of our visits.
Overall it was fun experience with some history and some whiskey making process. Must see this oldest distillery of United States.

Very detail in history from the past and into the present. I also loved they have a wall of this African American family when they started working for the company and still going into today. And telling us that its spring water , corn , wheat and barley for the making of whiskey. It's so natural and fresh. (I think I'm right on the ingredients. ) It was amazing I really enjoyed it. I believe I will drink more of Jack Daniel's whiskey more now that I see how it's made they put love and care into the product and also to its employees from when it started to even now. God Bless Jack Daniel's in your company and employees keep doing what you doing. Thanks for honoring the employees and the Green family. You are recieving the blessings from God for what you do and the employees return it back to working there. This is how a company should be run in this day of age. Thank You. 😊🙏🏾😊🙏🏾

The tour of the Jack Daniels distillery was the highlight of our Nashville vacation. It's a beautiful hour and a half drive through horse and cow farms, hills, dales and gorgeous country. Even though my husband is a Tennessee Squire and gets free tours, we chose to pay $35 each for the Angel's Share tour for the tasting. Everyone says their tour guide was the best, that a testament to Jack Daniels hiring process, because Bob, our tour guide, was the best. : ) . For $7, we also chose a JD slushy during the tour. Mine was Lemonade and JD and my husband had the regular JD and Coke slushy. Delicious! We thought we'd purchase some special bottles and ship them home only to find out it is illegal to do so. Heehee. Our only option was to pack it in our luggage but since we already had new cowboy boots : ) to pack, we had no room. Just as well, because the prices were almost triple than our prices back home in CT. We questioned why the prices were substantially higher and was explained about the dry county thing, prices reflect that. After our tour, we walked to the town where there is shops, restaurants, bakeries as well as a Harley Davidson store. Overall, wear comfortable shoes as you'll do some walking. Overall, you gotta do the tour if you're in Tennessee.

My visit to the Jack Daniel's Distillery was truly exceptional, exceeding all my expectations. From the moment we arrived, Anthony, our guide, made sure we felt welcomed and comfortable. His deep knowledge and passion for the distillery were evident from the outset, adding an extra level of authenticity to our visit.
Anthony led us through an informative and entertaining tour of the distillery facilities, sharing fascinating details about the history and process of crafting the legendary Jack Daniel's whiskey. His enthusiasm and charisma made every step of the tour exciting and memorable.
Overall, our experience at the Jack Daniel's Distillery with Anthony as our guide was nothing short of exceptional. His professionalism, knowledge, and engaging personality truly made the tour unforgettable. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to delve into the rich history and exquisite craftsmanship behind one of the world's most iconic whiskeys.

Visiting the Jack Daniels Distillery was an all around amazing experience that I highly recommended for everyone; whiskey drinkers or not. This was the starting point for our tour, but there is a ton of interesting history to learn about here before the tour even starts. This visitor center is quite new and it is well laid out, meticulous clean, and staffed with friendly, helpful staff. The tour itself was phenomenal! Rich in history and detail. Our tour guide - and I wish I'd gotten her name because she was absolutely outstanding - was so knowledgeable and instantly had an answer to ever question asked; and there were a lot of questions. I unequivocally recommended a trip to Lynchburg if you are anywhere near the area. You will not be disappointed.

Made reservations in advanced estimating an arrival as we drove up from Georgia. We arrived earlier than expected, but they were able to move my reservation to an earlier time. I believe Anthony was out guide, and he was very knowledgeable and entertaining with the information. Highly recommend the Flight of Jack Tour, worth every bit of the 90 min tour.

It was my first time visit to any distillery. Great friendly stuff. We selected the angle tour and it was amazing. They showed us in detail how the worlds best whiskey is made. The secret water was the best cool place. So lucky we could see the water flow. Tasting area was also great setup.
You get to take the tasting glasses home as souvenirs but their plastic glass.
I wish the coster were strong material as the once they gave us were paper.
They also showed us single barrel bottling area.
Visited the gift store and overall great experience. Thanks for the tour.

My guided tour was Amazing being lead by a very talented and knowledgeable X Marine, Brian R was the BEST! I truly appreciate his dedication to his craft and the company he represents. He made the tour fun and interesting. A wealth of knowledge about the distillery business and process. I was also very fortunate to meet Ms Kathy at the Tenn Squires Asso who helped me reinstate my membership and shared information about the association and my future participation. So cool that being able to share my experience and being welcomed into the community from the 1980’s was such an honor for me. Thank you to all the amazing people who made my day full and rewarding.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience! I think it was chiefly due to our amazing guide Justin aka Juice! Even before our tour started and Justin knew we were part of his tour he had stopped to greet us. We were looking at the family tree of Nearest Green and Justin identified people he knew and some fun facts about them. Justin was so friendly, jovial, and informative. His wit, warmth, obvious experience were second only to his passion for what he did and where he did it. You should DEFINITELY put this on your list of things to do while in the area!

Americana. History. Whiskey. Hospitality…. it’s all here at the Jack Daniel’s Distillery and Visitor Center in Franklin. We made an impromptu visit on a Saturday afternoon and were able to get on the Angel’s Share tour without much wait. I do recommend advance purchase for tickets if you’re planning a trip to the area. The main parking lot and runoff parking area, are well-maintained and staffed with plenty of parking for those who need handicapped access. A shuttle is available. The restrooms in the visitor center were extremely clean. Staff at the ticket desk were very hospitable and helped us find the tour that was right for us. It was a warm afternoon and we appreciated the option to purchase a frosty beverage for our walking tour. Our tour guide Lea was knowledgeable and courteous, could be heard very clearly. The ambience for the whiskey flight sampling was comfortable and fun.

This place is one of the best distillery tours I went on. We took the Angles share tour ( pre booking is recommended) and we had lots of fun. It was raining a bit and weather was perfect so we don’t get tired in sun. Our Tour guide Debbie was amazing and she explained us the history of Jack and distillery perfectly. There process of making whisky is almost similar to everyone else except a little bit of new process which I saw only at JD distillery, which was amazing.
The tour starts with smelling the amazing slit whiskey and it smells heaven. Then Debbie explained us the history of Jack and how he started making whiskey. He had an interesting history and glad he succeeded in it.
Overall the whole tour was amazing.
We had a sample tasting at the end of tour and we got 5 samples to taste. They had different flavor profiles and tastes to it. It was fun to taste them and know the difference.
There is a shop on-site where you can buy the bottles and customize couple of bottles. I wish they had accessories on-site to buy also. But they do have a hardware store that sells JD merchandises, they do close at 5pm though and we missed it.
Overall this was an amazing experience.

We did the Angels Share tour and it’s outstanding. I’ve been on maybe 10 different distillery tours and this is up there, it’s very well done. Tasting room is also incredible! Only downside and I’m not gonna knock them for it, is the bottle shop onsite is MINIMAL.

My visit to the Jack Daniel Distillery in Tennessee was made truly special by our enthusiastic tour guide, who proudly represented the distillery as a member of the second generation working there. Their passion and knowledge shone through during the entire tour, adding a personal touch to the experience.
However, there was a downside that families with toddlers should be aware of. The tour does not allow strollers, which can make it challenging for parents with young children. I wouldn't recommend it for kids under 4 who still rely on strollers, as there is quite a bit of walking and stairs involved.
Despite this drawback, the highlight of the visit was undoubtedly trying their signature Jack & Coke. It was nothing short of awesome and provided a perfect way to conclude the tour. The blend of Jack Daniel's whiskey with the classic cola was a delightful treat.
In summary, the Jack Daniel Distillery offers an engaging and informative tour, led by passionate guides like ours. While it may not be the most toddler-friendly excursion due to the no-stroller policy, it's an excellent choice for adults looking to learn about the history of this iconic whiskey and enjoy a fantastic Jack & Coke along the way.

My experience was wonderful! We chose The Angel's Share Tour. Our tour guide was Anthony. He is probably the best guide in the distillery. He was super friendly, attentive and funny. At the end of the tour, I asked him for a photo, and he agreed to take one with me! We went in August and the tour started at 10:45 am sharp, we had a whiskey tasting and then we went shopping for souvenirs. We were in Lynchburg for almost 4 hours, it is a charming town. We would have stayed longer but we already had a tractor party booked. Go to this beautiful place, you will not regret it!

Angel's Share tour with Ashley (funny, informative, welcoming, answers any question asked!!!) was outstanding!!! Very informative for those who know a lot or just a little about the distilling process. The walk was great, just be ready for some stairs! The tour capped off with a tasting, which was very nice even for someone who gravitates to bourbon! The whole experience was awesome!

I along with my wife took the "Flight of Jack Daniel's tour" during labor day weekend last year and we have become fans of this place.
I say this as a tee-totaler that this place should be a must visit on your list if you are ever visiting Nashville. Here is the summary of our visit there:
-- Location: This place is about 3.5 hours from Atlanta and 1.5 hours from Nashville. The funny part is that the distillery is part of a dry county where drinking in not allowed *wink*wink*
-- Tickets: While we did the flight of Jack Daniels tour which is 1.5 hours long, there are many others available which are both with and without wine tasting. We had 6 different wine tasting - only a sip of their finest world famous whiskey. Booking in advance is a must
--- Tour: The tour was amazing as so was out tour guide. I forgot her name but she made sure to answer all the questions, explain the process with her wit and jokes all the time.
--- Value for Money: An absolute banger of a money. We paid $30 for the tour and it was totally worth it.
Since the visitor, I have become their unofficial promoter and I promote the place to all my friends.
I cannot recommend this place enough for the tour, the vibe and the history of Jack Daniels :)

we loved our visit to the Jack Daniels distillery, the guide was excellent and took us through all the stages of whiskey making, in addition to several stories about the life of Jack and the workers who produced this classic whiskey. The tasting room is worth the detour in itself. Take the Jack and Coke Slush or the lemonade, it's worth the price and you can't change your mind and take it at the counter.

We had a wonderful time on our Angel’s Share tour! Our guide Morgan was incredible. He did not rush us, he was very informative and knowledgeable about everything Jack Daniel’s, had a great sense of humor and answered all of our questions. He was very thoughtful in discreetly asking us if one of the people in our party needed any additional assistance due to some mobility issues and the number of stairs throughout the tour. Definitely recommend this tour, even if you don’t drink like me.

What an amazingly fun and informative tour! The sheer amount of knowledge our tour guide, Matt, has in his head was dazzling! I have no doubt that if I were to take another tour with the same man, I would still learn something new! The nearly 2 hour tour went by far too fast. We could've spent the entire day and still needed more time to take it all in. Truly, the only part of the tourbi would change would be the length of time spent... we would have loved to be able to spend more time with Matt and have been able to take more time at each stop of the tour. We will be back! And don't forget your whiskey trail poker chips as you get your map stamped.

Jack is my poison so I was excited to do this tour for my birthday. My tour was the Angel tour for 9:15 a.m on April 6th. My tour guide was Kim who is absolutely AMAZING!!! She made the tour fun, she has a very bubbly personality but not the annoying kind. Kim is funny, very informative and just all around great personality, she loves her job and you can tell. Our tour started off with a short bus ride where we got off to start the tour by foot, and get a slushie (if you purchase one, which I recommend you do). The grounds are absolutely beautiful, with a lot of photo opportunities as you can't take photos inside. Kim walked us through the history of Jack himself, how he started making the whiskey, who helped him and so much more. I love history so to hear how it all started and to see where it is today is absolutely amazing. At the end we did some taste testing. The taste testing was very interesting because as much as I like Jack I stick with what I know, so to taste the ones made of rye was new to my taste buds. After the tour we went inside to look at our picture that was taken before we went in and we were greeted by Jeff. Jeff helped us with purchasing our picture, and explained to me how the personalized branding for a bittle worked. I went and purchased my bottle of gentleman Jack, paid for it and went back to Jeff where he helped me finalize the branding portion. Jeff was very pleasant to chat with and very helpful when it came to all of my questions. I recommend this tour if you like history and love Jack. Take a tour with Kim, you're guaranteed to laugh and learn all at the same time. I'd definitely do this again.

We visited the distillery on 2/24/24. We did the Angel's Share Tour, our tour guide was Kyle. Kyle was a fantastic tour guide, he was funny, energetic, and knew so much great history about Jack Daniels. We were so surprised at how big this distillery is, the property is so beautiful! At the end of this tour, we got to sample five different types of Jack Daniels from the barrel. We'd recommend visiting this distillery to anyone!
Lynchburg Hardware & General Store is an official gift shop of Jack Daniels, offering a wide variety of branded drinkware, clothing, and other souvenirs. The store is a great stop for tourists in town who are fans of the famous whiskey brand. Prices are reasonable and visitors can even get a free shot glass with a $10 purchase after taking the tour. Notably, the store has a unique feature where items are made out of barrels.

Oh my gosh this place is awesome!!! We went on a dry distillery tour and it was so cool to hear about the history of it all. When it was all said and done we walked down and across the street back to the truck and asked the two guys guilding people to the shuttle and answering questions, and Barry told us to check out the Lynchburg Hardware & General Store cause that's the main Jack Daniel's store, so we did just that. There were two floors of products of every type like the golf section and the fire fighter area. There was so much merchandise it was just amazing. Everybody got their own shirt and all of them were something you could only get there. They were unique. We also got a military discount and shot glasses for every $10 bucks we spent. The store was clean and organized, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly and we all got everything we wanted.

Great stop while you are in town. Has a lot of Jack Daniels items to buy. Prices are as expected. If you do a tour come here after and get a free shot glass with a $10 purchase. One per person. If your a Jack Daniels fan you will find something to buy if your not then you won’t. Simple as that. They have a shop that makes “stuff” out of the barrels. Nicely done museum house with a focus on President James K. Polk. The museum has a very good collection of artifacts. The guide was knowledgeable and engaging.
It's worth noting that Polk only lived a portion of his life in this house - with the demolition of the Polk House in Nashville, this became the primary place to serve as a museum to Polk in the area.

Beautiful home of our 11th President James K. Polk. This is his only remaining residence other than The White House. His home where he lived after his presidency in downtown Nashville was torn down. Not sure why Nashville would tear down a presidential home! The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the home, the history of the time, the President and his family. The tour included the home, the grounds and the kitchen. They also have a video about JKP and a small gift shop. It was not busy, but there was a steady flow of people. Spent around 2 hour here. Very informative tour guide and enthusiastic about the history behind the mansion and family. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Nice tour of a home President Polk lived in. Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful on the tour. Not a large house however and the grounds are small.

Visited today with my son and we loved it! Very friendly staff, nice gift shop, and interesting things on exhibit. Benjamin served as a great guide and we will be back again bringing our other family members.

The tour left a little to be desired. The small museum inside the gift shop provided a lot of information and I was glad the staff mentioned the contributions of the enslaved people who helped the family. This was also covered in the museum displays. Your was pretty kid friendly, they had a little scavenger hunt for kids to participate in.

This is the home of our 11th President. It is one of the more authentic historic locations from this time period as most of the items are not reproductions due to the family passing them directly to the historic association.
I have taken the tour four times now over a ten year span. Every single tour guide is extremely knowledgeable and seems to have a passion for James Polk.
On this trip, our guide went above and beyond by answering questions and even staying a little past closing to make sure we saw everything.
Very highly recommend (even if you aren’t a Polk fan) just for the historic value.

Beautiful home of President Polk. This is his only remaining residence other than The White House. The house is finished as his home in Nashville was. The tour guide provided history and knowledge about the President and his family.
Worth the visit.

Wonderful and informative tour of the Polk family home. The tour included the home, the grounds, the kitchen/slave quarters, and a temporary exhibition on the adjacent property. They also have a video about JKP and a small gift shop. They offer children's camps through the summer. Came on a Sunday. It was not busy, but there was a steady flow of people. Highly recommend this hidden gem in a sleepy Southern town!

Our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. Because of this tour I am buying a book about this Presidency.

One of best historical tours we have ever done, largely due to our tour guide, Phyllis! She was congenial and extremely knowledgeable! We started with a 10 minute video, then reviewed an adjacent room of several exhibits before the personal tour hosted by Phyllis throughout the home. Highly recommend this to anyone with a love of history. James & Sarah Polk deserve much more notoriety!

Small site and museum - but our tour guide was incredibly educated and fielded all sorts of questions. Sites like this show the modern importance of the National Archives, and for a relatively obscure President, it was enlightening to see what would be a fairly simple home that he grew up in. Many of the surviving artifacts from the time there are full of history.
Steve Van Dyke — Google review
I never knew much about this president, but I do now. It's a small property and only costs $12 for adults. Pretty original homes and garden. Columbia is one of the smaller towns that hasn't torn down a lot of historic homes so it's pretty as well. Our tour guide seemed very knowledgeable.
Creekside park with walking trails, camping & cabins, plus boat rentals & a massive swimming pool.
We spent 4 days here in a cabin and all I can say is, "WOW!" Tennessee has the most beautiful state parks and their accommodations DO NOT disappoint!!! There were 7 of us and 2 puppers we had MORE than enough room in the cabin.
We spent our days on the trails, discovering waterfalls, the museum, covered bridge, old iron bridge, floating bridge, nightly fire pit shenanigans and just enjoying the beauty from our balcony.
David Crockett State Park is NOT to be missed.

You can easily see the park in half a day. There are quite a few hiking trails, all of different levels for different hiking abilities. There's paddle boats in the summer on the lake, or take your own kayaks. A beautiful waterfall close to the lake but to get to the bottom, ensure you can stretch a bit & still be steady. Park is free admission which is awesome! There are camp sites available if you want to camp. Restaurant on site as well. Great place to spend the day or half a day, depending on your preference.

This was a really nice state park I enjoyed the 2 days that I was here I made my reservation online and didn't have any issues finding the campsite. I chose a campsite that was located directly next to the showers and the bathrooms once I took my shower the shower was made very inconveniently for a short person and I myself in 5 2". The water was kind of warm but not as warm as I would like it and I took a shower very quickly because tbecause the angle of the shower could not be changed. The bathrooms are located on the other side of where the showers are.
The nature at this park was really nice the campsites were built very well and the leveled also. The campsites for tent camping are mixed in along with the site for trailer are trailers and campers. The pool for this park is going to be closing because the usage was down but the grounds are very nice and beautiful the cabins at this park don't really don't resemble cabins at all they resemble small apartments but they are nice as well they are located around the lake. We did go fishing in the lake but didn't catch anything. We were here in March and search and I don't believe that the restaurant was open we didn't get out to see but there were no cars there. This park is located very close proximity to anything that you would need or that you have forgotten my phone also works here in the park which was a plus.
Overall I will say that I do like this state park the only complaint that I had was the shower.
PS
There is an archery 🏹 range as well!

One of the best full hook up parks I've stayed in. Friendly staff, well maintained spacious campground, beautiful trails. Restrooms, picnic tables and dump station. Everything you need within walking distance and so much history and scenery. Paid $28-$36 30amp and water.

A beautiful park with well spaced camping pads. My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is no sewer hook ups. That limited our length of stay. The hiking trails are well marked and well maintained. The bathrooms are cleaned regularly and well. All staff that we met were knowledgeable and friendly.

Beautiful State Park CG, sites are spacious and wooded and paved. This park is well maintained, lots of walking trails, plenty of places to eat near by. My only small gripe is the signage when you first arrive, where to park and register, I felt like I was parked in the middle of the road. A couple of signs would fix this problem, We definitely will return. Good Verizon signal here.

What a lovely state park! We camped, did two hikes and one of the programs. The camping site was great, creekside, with a flat area for the tent, picnic table and fire pit. The Shoal Creek hike is wonderful and an easy out and back with just a short uphill portion. The turkey ridge trail is okay. The first portion you can hear/see the road. The middle is lovely and then the last half mile or so is along the road.
My only complaint/suggestion would be to update the description of the space/planet viewing activity. It is a kid focused program on the distance between planets. We were not able to actually view any planets (though that may vary based on time of year)

One of the cleanest campgrounds I ever visited. Peace & Quiet. The sites are awesome. Plenty of room. Camped there 2 nights. Had a great time. Restrooms and showers are clean. Can't wait to return.

First Class. Well maintained while not taking away from the natural beauty. Campgrounds are modern and neat. Lots of trails. The museum is a gem and worth the trip all by itself. Laid out in an easy and intuitive way. On my permanent list.

This is our favorite camping place. We have tent camped and now we have a camper and love it. We do miss the Olympic size pool being open so bad. We would come more if the pool was available. That was the icing on the cake! Please open it again! Restrooms/showers are clean. Campground 1 is our favorite but limited on spots if your 33ft. Campground 2 has great spots but it's not near the water.

Stayed in Cabin #4 and the staff was unfriendly and rude. Otherwise the park was amazing! Fabulous hike around the lake and many scenic areas. Just don't expect to be treated like they want you there.
Brian Chamberlain — Google review
Nice park, lots of walking trails with streams and a lake. Husband and I wanted to stay one night, but they made it very expensive to stay one night basically its a minimum two night stay. The park just isn't big enough or enough to do around the area for a two night stay.
Angie Henderson — Google review
Stayed here two weeks. Beautiful park with tall old growth trees, clean bathrooms, large showers will great water pressure, spacious lots, picnic tables, and fire pits. We had Campground 1, Site 4, which basically gives you a huge lot with a giant yard to yourself, which was totally worth the site being quite sloped. Sites are water and electric and there is a dump station on site.
The hosts were friendly, attentive, and they have inexpensive ice, and wood available for purchase.
Park is close enough to town, with local taxi and delivery services available if needed.
Wildlife everywhere, including deer, birds for watching, possums, armadillo, and lots of fish in the creek that runs along the campground.
Entrance to the Trail of Tears is in the park, with historical markers, and a well marked trail.
We really loved our experience here and plan to stay again.

This is a great little state park with some good points of interest. We camped and the spot we were in had water/electric and the site was level and easy to get into. The check-in process was a weird because they don't allow check-ins until 3 pm and the office closes at 4 pm, so there is only a one-hour check-in window. We got there at 4:30 and had to come back the next day and check-in. We had a reservation so we were able to go on to our spot for the night but if you don't have a reservation and miss the one-hour check-in window you're out of luck.

Excellent stay! Quiet, only two Rvs in the campground. Very clean, roads good in and out, easy to get to from the Natchez Trace, and 65 on the other side. Water, and Electric for us. Polite staff. This is our 2nd time there. Dog friendly and restrooms in the center of campground , Will stop again.

Fun Sunday at David Crockett State Park! Dog friendly and easy trails to walk on. A part of the Trail of Tears is here as well. They have a Bird Aviary and a museum too.
Monte Sano State Park is a public recreation area located on top of Monte Sano mountain in Huntsville, Alabama. The park offers hiking trails, bike trails, and a campground with tenting and RV camping available. The park is also home to the Hays Nature Preserve, which features beautiful blooming azaleas in the springtime, colorful leaves in the fall season, and tranquil forest areas perfect for families to explore together.
The campsites are spaced very nicely for privacy. The area we were in had full 50A hookups. There is a lovey pavilion in the middle for group gatherings, or as we were lucky enough to be there for, musical jams. Within walking distance of the campground is a Japanese Tea Garden, a playground, a picnic area, and an amphitheater. There are als multiple hiking trails.
We will definitely be returning m

My husband and I have been here several times to hike and just enjoy the natural beauty that Monte Sano State Park has to offer. Today was the first time we visited the Japanese Garden. Several of the trees are in bloom and the colors are surreal! The space and trail are very well maintained as well. I'm so happy my husband learned about this spot and took us here for a walk on such a beautiful spring day. I will note that this trail is very easy (I'm 36 weeks pregnant so this was welcomed). So, if you are in the area and want an easy stop, this is one I highly recommend, especially in the spring/summer.

Beautiful nature! Not too crowded but enough people to not be nervous alone. Great for hiking or mountain biking; not the best for trail runs at least not the one I did. Lots of steep loose rock. It is amazing here though.

A gorgeous state park with LOTS of great hiking trails for moderate levels. The trails have lots of roots, rock & exposed bedrock. Gorgeous tall pine trees & sweet smell. Visiting in late October ZERO bugs harassing us. Lots of parking at each lots & many trail options. Day pass is $5 or $4 for seniors or those with golden access cards.

Loved this park. Up on a mountain so camping was cooler. temperature wise. and there are full hookup sites available. Different hiking trails available. Small camp store. If you are going up for camping check the maps. don’t go the way GPS sends you. it is a windy switchblade type road. there is an easier entrance off Governors Drive there are picnic areas and it is dog friendly. Also a playground near the picnic area. outside the campground.

This park is a beautiful breath of fresh air .
We were here early spring 3/22/24 so the trees are still bare and most of the flowers un bloomed, however, the ambiance of the tea garden gave more than enough to inspire a marriage proposal.
To me, this park resembles commitment, honor, loyalty, duty, respect, responsibility, and the circle of life in harmony (family).
Needless to say, i took a piece of Monte Sano with me that day.

Another great state park in Alabama. We stayed in the campground in a 28 ft RV. There were larger 5th wheels and class A motor homes in the park also. There is plenty of room between sites. Good area for kids to ride bikes. We enjoyed a nice hike on a couple of the many trails available.

Beautiful location but check the map before you go. Google maps brought us in from the northeast on Bankhead Parkway- VERY tight switchbacks, extremely steep and narrow road. We were in a 30’ class C motor home and just barely made the turns.
Otherwise, enjoyed our stay.

There is so much to do and see. I went to 2 different look outs, found one of the 2 water falls (it hadn't rained so only a trickle of water) so relaxing. I was only able to hike about a mile due to time but what I did do was amazing. The silence other than nature was perfect. I will definitely go again next time I am in the area.

A family favorite. Here you'll find walking trails, hidden waterfalls, and some of the most beautiful overlooks in the state of Alabama. This park is huge, and there's something new to see every time you visit.

There are a lot of good things to say about Monte Sano. There are a lot of hiking trails (and options for how far you want to hike). The trails are well marked - and maps are available in the visitor center. The park has disc golf and mountain biking. There is a mountain bike practice area that looks cool, too.
We hiked on a chilly December day, so the heated bathrooms by the picnic shelter were a hit. They were clean.
Why not 5 stars? It’s a great place for a hike near Huntsville, but the views aren’t breathtaking. The Stone Cut trail is the coolest path, but otherwise just anticipate a nice hike in the outdoors.

The park is very well-maintained! The trails and views are simply breathtaking. There is so much to do here from overnight stays in the cabins. We’re bringing your camper up here and enjoying the fresh mountain air. This is truly a great place to bring your family and friends for a nice day out enjoying nature.

Please fix the only bathrooms we seen near the campground. They were both very disgusting today and neither would flush and if I have to pay $10 for 2 people to come in your park I’d like somewhere clean to be able use the bathroom. The park itself is quite beautiful. Will be back. Hopefully I can change this review next time we come.

Title: Nature's Embrace at Monte Sano State Park Campground
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Our stay at Monte Sano State Park Campground was a delightful surprise, turning an unplanned reservation into a memorable mountain retreat. Nestled at the mountain's pinnacle amidst a hardwood forest, this campground provided an enchanting backdrop for our visit to the area.
The journey to the campground, albeit adventurous, revealed the beauty of the location. The mountain road, with a 5 to 6 percent grade, added a touch of excitement to our ascent. While a challenging switchback initially gave us pause, we later discovered a more accessible route from the Huntsville side, ensuring a smoother entry for those towing vehicles.
The check-in process was seamless, with a well-organized station and ample parking before entering the campground. For late arrivals, a helpful Camp host at the entrance gate's left side ensured easy access with the necessary code.
Our stay at site #3 was both comfortable and scenic, featuring full hookups, a gravel base, a picnic table, and a fire pit. The off-season visit granted us the luxury of choosing from numerous open campsites, showcasing the campground's capacity of 85 RV sites and a designated area for tent camping.
As a traveling photographer, I found two experiences particularly memorable. The first was the breathtaking sunrise from the scenic overlook to the east—a perfect spot for capturing the dawn's beauty. The second occurred during RV setup when I turned around to find several deer quietly observing from just a few feet away—an unexpected encounter that left me in awe. (Video link attached)
The campground's abundant wildlife, including squirrels, birds, and even a coyote, added to the allure of the stay. Over our four-day visit, tranquility prevailed, making it a peaceful escape.
I highly recommend Monte Sano State Park Campground to fellow travelers, with the friendly suggestion to approach it from the Bankhead Parkway via US-431 for a more convenient and scenic route. This campground is a haven for nature lovers and those seeking a serene mountain retreat.

Located in Alabama, the Huntsville Botanical Garden is known for its 127 acres of themed gardens and nature trails. The garden features a large open-air butterfly house, nature programs for kids and adults, and seasonal festivals.
Beautiful and Peaceful. Although we went in November still we had a peaceful walk in the park. My son loved the big chairs and picnic bench. We also saw some 🐠 fish. The staff was great. They have a cute gift shop with Okra which was so tasty.😃 Also for families that can’t afford the full price you can get in for $3.00 a person under the museum for all. Make sure to check website for more details.

Beautiful, well kept gardens. Lots of walking trails. Plants are well identified and kept.
Staff is very friendly.
Butterfly House is beautiful with many varieties of butterflies you can observe up close. If you sit still, you may be lucky enough to have one land on you.
The Children's Garden is amazing!
There are facilities are well placed throughout the Garden so you are never far from water or restrooms.
Lots of shady spots to hang out on hot sunny days.

Beautiful, serene, fun, playful. The customer service was great! Go to the Visitor's Center first and get your 20% off coupon and if you qualify get your Veteran's discount on top of that! We LOVED all the swings and benches. The architecture is beautiful. The origami art installations were wonderful, too! We heard about a wading pool for kids. On our way out, there was live music. Wednesdays, dueing the summer, you can have dinner and music in the park. It's open until dusk. Just a great way to enjoy nature's beauty. Even on a hot day, you can find a breeze and some cool in the shade rocking in a swing or two.

This place is so tranquil! The beautiful flowers, water lands and butterfly house make this place so relaxing.
You should give yourself at least an hour or more to fully enjoy the gardens. There are trails, swings, benches, and plenty of photo opportunities.

A lovely experience, no matter the time of year. They offer plenty of exciting activities, from gardening classes to floral sales to small orchestral performances. Summertime is the most beautiful for touring the gardens, as everything is in full bloom and the Butterfly House is brimming with butterflies. Christmastime is also special, featuring a festival of lights, holiday music and treats, and a selection of artwork painted by local children. The cafe provides a pleasant breakfast or lunch for a small fee, and the gift shop's fine offerings change to reflect the seasons. This place never gets old for me. I love it here.

Living in a society that supports education, outdoor activities, and public spaces, it seems almost anachronistic to charge $17 admission and not hand out a paper map. This garden is densely planted, thoughtfully arranged, and offers educational relaxation in the presence of amazing native and imported plants. You see young families swinging with a baby in a hammock, middle aged visitors with huge cameras, children groups, and the odd old couple that stops and stares, always leaving you to wonder if they catch their breaths or ogle at their favorite plant.
I have to deduct a star since I came to cross check Trillium species with published descriptions and found the trillium collection not quite living up to its reputation. when I left, I became a member anyways. A place worth my support.

In town for the weekend and the gardens were just a block away! So worth the time to stroll through these beautifully kept gardens! We were there during the Stickworks and swing displays and they were fun to find during our exploration of the gardens. The Children's garden and the butterfly pavilion is a must visit while there! Don't miss those! Make sure you bring sunscreen and water! Although there are lots of shady areas out can get quite steamy in the open areas!

We went on Memorial Day weekend and enjoyed a relaxing day there. We missed several of the flowers blooming, but there were still plenty to see. They make sure there is plenty of seating of various types to stop, relax, and enjoy the view. This is an experience in Huntsville that you CAN NOT pass up. I went during the summer and I would love to come back in the spring. Absolutely beautiful, a large variety of plants. The butterfly garden is very tranquil. The aquatic garden has a beautiful walkway and there is a play area for children. There are several locations among the trees that have places to sit and take in the surroundings. Also, there is a cafe on the grounds. I would suggest making sure you bring a water bottle to be prepared for the heat if you are going during the summer.

Beautiful! We're lucky to have such a lush garden to enjoy here in Huntsville, and they host various activities and classes for the community. Really beautiful place. Decided to visit here as we were in the area to visit the space center. This place has a surprisingly large children's garden with different themes and also an area where there are small houses. My 8 and 9 year olds loved this place and the turtles that swam in the pond. Lots of scarecrow displays that showcased the autumn season and local organizations. Will come back for sure.

Highly recommend this place and the lovely staff!

" a green oasis with year round activities". Yeah right.
We went today and not a single plant was a live. It was all baren plots. The Christmas lights and decorations were still up, and half the park was closed due to construction. No signs to indicate this. Just giant trucks driving on the roads and digging up plots.
We were not told everything was dead, and the people at the desk were happy to still charge us $75 for this experience. Don't get me wrong. They were very polite. But we completely wasted our time and money in wandering an acre or so of grass and trees.
We expected greenhouses or something worth our time. Nope.

I travel a lot and love going to botanical gardens wherever I go. 95% of places I have been are free with a small exception requesting donations of around $5-$8 which I think is reasonable.
This place wants $20 just to walk through. Not a guided tour. No other services than just walking there. I was stupefied. I would have considered maybe $10 but wow.
There is a part of me that thinks the ticket price is intentionally high to discourage low-income (usually minority) folks from being present which I hear is an issue in Huntsville. Just go to a park or the much larger gardens in Birmingham which is FREE.

The U.S. Space & Rocket Center is a museum dedicated to space history with exhibits and artifacts from throughout space exploration. It has both indoor and outdoor exhibits, as well as a simulator ride for kids and adults, so visitors can explore the universe from close up or step back in time to experience what it was like to be an astronaut.
I went yesterday April 3rd. It was awesome beautiful weather. There were a lot of people but you couldn't really tell it except from the parking lot. There is so much space and places to visit that it was extremely enjoyable. If history is your cup of tea, I highly recommend a visit to this place. It is great for all ages. I even noticed they had motorized scooters you rent if you couldn't walk long distances which I thought was thoughtful. Everyplace seems wheelchair accessible. So do go and enjoy yourself.

Fun place to learn history of the US space program. It’s expensive for a family to come here so plan accordingly. They charge for almost everything interactive once you pay the $30/ea. entrance fee. I get it that they are privately funded so they have to charge to get in. The kids loved it and I loved coming here as a kid myself. The restaurant is a rip off so plan food accordingly.
Rick Lowe — Google review
The tickets are $30 each for entrance, but are 50 percent off on weekdays in February. There are additional charges for many of the activities. The Saturn V is the biggest attraction included with the admission ticket and there are free tours at scheduled times. The tour was worth it. We only had 4 hours on hand to spend here and wish we had more. There's the moon rock, NASA Lunar module, Mars 2020 Perseverance with Ascent vehicle and helicopter, the Apollo 16 command module, the mobile quarantine unit and many other exhibits that should not be missed. Near the building are gravesites of Miss Baker, the first squirrel monkey to go to space and come back alive and her husband.

The whole place was great. I wish the Space Shuttle was back atop the tank. The Planetarium was AMAZING! The guy that did the show for us was funny and gave the crowd an option for "A boring normal planetarium show" or a "Fun and up close and personal and informational experience with the planets." This was almost exactly one year ago, but he did such a good job that I still remember the funny jokes he made up. "I mean, Uranus is the butt of all jokes." I wish I had thanked him in person, but all these months later, I thank you to whoever made that the best experience ever!

The people who work here take great pride in their history. It was great to see all the authentic pieces. We enjoyed the ability to climb into some of them and feel what it was like to be an astronaut. We also liked walking through the replica of the international space station.
They have many experiences that are not included in the admission price. So go check then out first before you decide which ones to choose. The place is showing its age.

Wow. Just wow. What an experience. This place did not disappoint! We did 2 planetarium shows: The Sounds of Space and Cosmos and Cocktails. We had the amazing opportunity to speak with two WOMEN who are engineers for NASA. The gift shop employees were super knowledgeable and friendly.
The only confusing part was there was no honorable mention to Katherine Johnson (Hidden Figures). It would have been great to see a dedication to her.
It was a great experience all in all though.

Core memory! Went with high expectations, and they were fulfilled! I kinda wished I lived nearby so I can make this an annual trip. I would also recommend the rides (especially the MaxFlight and VR experience). Stuff was also super friendly.

I had a great experience here, learning about the space rockets and of course walking the grounds around the static displays. Take about 2.5 hours to walk and read of its uncrowded like the day I went. Also there were rocket scientists present for you to talk to. The hands on portion where you get to control some of the games was really a nice touch. I definitely recommend a visit.

Our day at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center was an absolute dream! The abundance of free parking made our visit hassle-free. 🚗 The center seamlessly blends fun and learning, engaging us in rocket science, mathematics, aerospace, engineering, and technology through hands-on building activities. 🌌📚 The myriad of benefits exploring the center offers makes it a perfect day of education and exploration. Highly recommend for families seeking a unique and enriching experience! 🚀🌟

First time visiting. Overall we had a good visit. The four of us was little less than $90. I feel like it’s overpriced, and the food was also overpriced for what you got. So that’s why it has 4 stars. I wasn’t sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised at some exhibits. There were construction going on so it looked a bit of a mess outside. The kids enjoyed themselves. The employees were friendly and helpful so no issues there. The facilities were clean. It’s wheelchair, stroller friendly, with a mom and baby restroom. I would come back, just not anytime soon. Maybe when the kids are teenagers.

Awesome experience!! Great permanent exhibits, and several temporary ones that change up a couple times a year. This month, they had a really cool Guinness Book of World Records - Science of Play exhibit in the main room! It was so much fun!! There were dozens of different games and challenges for kids of all ages to interact with. I highly, highly recommend going to the 8K Planetarium movie "Our Place in Space" !!! (Tickets are $10-$12 each, but its worth it!)

Even if you're not a big space fan this place has something for everyone. Tons of specs program things inside and out. Old rockets and spacecraft, astronaut items, a real moon rock, the capsule from Apollo 16, and tons of play areas for kids. Such a cool experience to stand under the Saturn V and think of the historic missions it powered. We took our two boys 7 and 4 and they loved everything about the place. You will not regret seeing this place in person.

Not only was it INCREDIBLE to see REAL space crafts that went to SPACE, but a HUGE thank you to the employee who helped me when I got lost. My phone had died, so I couldn't find my family and ended up having a panic attack, but the employee who helped me was so kind and calm and helped me find my way, and I have nothing but appreciation for them! So, 5 stars for both an incredible experience of getting to see and learn all about some incredible space missions, but also for the fantastic customer service!

It was an amazing place to spend the day with the family. Super busy but we were able to easily do everything we wanted. The planetarium was so incredible. I would definitely recommend it while you are here. I can't explain how extraordinary it is to see.. my daughter kept saying it was out of this world 😁

This was a great family experience and educational as well. There were many interesting and interactive exhibits to see. This is a museum that will take you a couple hours or more to view, but is very worth the trip.

My visit to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, was an unforgettable journey into the world of space exploration. This center is not just a museum; it's an educational powerhouse that provides an immersive experience into the history, science, and future of space travel.
As you approach the center, you are immediately struck by the imposing rockets and space artifacts on display, creating a sense of awe and excitement. The grounds are well-maintained and provide an excellent backdrop for the incredible exhibits inside.
The museum houses an extensive collection of space artifacts, including a Saturn V rocket, which is a marvel to behold. Walking beneath this giant is a humbling experience that really puts into perspective the scale and ambition of space travel. The exhibits are thoughtfully presented, with informative plaques and interactive displays that are both educational and engaging.
One of the highlights of my visit was the space shuttle simulator. It gives you a glimpse into what astronauts experience during a space mission, offering a mix of thrill and learning. For younger visitors and the young at heart, this is a particularly exciting feature.
The center also does an excellent job in educating visitors about the history of space exploration, from the early days of the space race to current and future missions. The displays are comprehensive, covering various aspects of space science, including astronomy, astronautics, and the technology used in space missions.
For families with children, the U.S. Space & Rocket Center is a fantastic destination. The interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, and educational films make learning about space fun and accessible for all ages. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to answer questions and share interesting space facts.
Another aspect worth mentioning is the Space Camp programs offered at the center. These programs provide a unique opportunity for kids and teenagers to engage in simulated astronaut training, which is both educational and inspiring.
The U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville is a must-visit for anyone interested in space and science. It offers an enriching experience that is both educational and entertaining. Whether you're a space enthusiast or just curious about the final frontier, this center will not disappoint.

This place is awesome! I was here alone and spent about 2.5 hours, if I had my kids I would have been here most of the day, really cool to see the ISS exhibit and be able to walk under some of the huge rockets

It’s a nice and interesting visit that lasts around 3.5 hours.
Unfortunately, many things are in poor condition and in need of renovation. We see that the first building is old
And there is work in progress that seems to be done in a somewhat haphazard manner.
2 attractions were closed without financial compensation. There are simulators to pay extra and the planetarium is also extra! While the price of entry is frankly not cheap!
It's still an educational visit for young and old, but a slightly lower price would be fairer.

If you are in Huntsville Alabama you need to come to the U.S Space & Rock Center. I loved seeing the Saturn 5 Space ship and they have a airplane simulator. The G Force ride was very fun but can get you dizzy. There is also a really expensive gift shop if your interested.

What a Great place to spend the Day! So much to see and things to do that are apart of the general admission. There is a number of things that are extra but we didn't do them and still enjoyed the day. 5 year old Grandson loved it. Lots of outside things to walk around and see. The parking is free. There is a gift shop and food court as well

Such an educational, fun museum. There is SO MUCH to see and do. There are so many interactive things for kids and adults to do. There is so much to see, watch, and experience here. We even got to speak with a rocket scientist who has been doing this for 52 years.
It's hard to even summarize the experience. Truly, our nations space history spread out. Lots of walking but worth it.
The staff is friendly and efficient at answering questions. There are so many restrooms and easy wheelchair access throughout. You could spend a whole day exploring and finding more facts and information. There are outside exhibits and indoor ones. There are tons of picnic tables outside, and there is a cafe with indoor seating as well.
Wear your walking shoes and take lots of pictures. It is something your guests will talk about for years to come.

Our family had such a great time visiting the space & rocket center. The staff were all so friendly and knowledgeable. We did the planetarium and although I study space for my degree path, I learned quite a bit about the planets in our solar system. There was also a playground for my 7 year old to play in for a bit before heading back to our hotel. So far it's been the best part of our first time trip to Huntsville.

Quite a cool place to explore - but only if you have a bit more than 1 hour we had (so we ended up just checking it out from outside and then the me gift shop). Not the cheapest but quite large, also with a large gift shop with quite a cool selection. Seems quite kids-focused, great option for families.
&Tilly [andtillycom] — Google review
If you are a space nerd like me, you will spend all the money, and you will regret nothing, even as they’re renovating right now. One general adult admission ticket was $30. Took about four hours of light sightseeing to cover the museum and the Saturn-V building. This could have easily been the whole day if I went deep in all of the exhibits. They also had actual aerospace engineers wandering around the Saturn-V Instrument Unit display you could ask questions to. (That’s the kind of thing your entry fee is paying for.)
Didn’t get to the planetarium this time. Will try for next time. They also have lots of hands-on stuff, and simulators to try out (at an added charge), which I did not partake this time, but looked really cool.
Gift shop got me for about $70 in merch on the way out. Very good quality merch, including my new favorite (USA made!) stainless steel water bottle.
I’ll happily come back if life brings me back to Huntsville.

This is a decent place to bring young children for an outing. I came during the week so it wasn't so crowded for the most part. Planetarium show was okay, wasn't as exciting as we thought. But worth the $10 while there. Good amount of information regarding space and replica models.

This is a beautiful state park!! We were here for a summit and it was pretty chilly outside so we didn't explore any of the trails. From what we did explore via the warm vehicle & experienced of the Lodge and the accommodations, I would highly recommend! The restaurant/bar isn't fully operational during the off season but a beautiful 20 minute drive takes you into town and to City Harbor for dining and brewery options.

One of the most beautiful state parks in Alabama for sure. We wish we discovered it years ago, but, better late then never. We stayed at the Lodge with an amazing view of the lake, hiked around the lake, watched the sunset in Guntersville, rested at the boat ramp picnic area and had amazing dinner and breakfast at the City Harbour 20 minutes away. Highly recommend.

This was my first time to stay at this park at their lodge. They offer a discounted rate for state employees if there is availability but I was able to take advantage of the discount. The views are incredible and the only issue is that the onsite restaurant was only open Thursday - Saturday so that was the only disappointing event, but I explored Guntersville so was a great trip overall.

Harmony Park Safari is a 30-acre wildlife preserve in Huntsville, Alabama, that is home to a variety of free-roaming exotic and endangered animals. The park is family-friendly and open from March to November (including holidays).
Wonderful place. Our great granddaughter is two. We thought she would be afraid. She loved the animals. She didn't want to leave.
This is a day trip worth taking.
Elaine Childers — Google review
Pretty cool place to visit. The animals are used to cars feeding them, so they will swarm your car and if your windows are down they will be all up in your car. Was hoping for more variety of animals, it's mostly deer and emu. There are some variants of cattle, a few miniature horses and a bunch of pigs. There is a giraffe, which is cool, but he stayed pretty close to his pen.
The animals with horns/antlers did a great job of minding their closeness to the car. They got super close, but didn't have any issues with them scratching the paint (I was super worried about that.)

Animals were very sweet and all came to meet us in the car. There was plenty of food to go around and a bunch of the deers just followed our car along which was fun. We had a great time.

A bit smaller than expected, and with fewer animal types than we'd hoped. Still a nice time - lots of laughter, squeals of delight, and excitement. We didn't even have any kids with us on this trip yet still had fun. Definitely worth the price, even with slightly expensive animal feed. I mean, how often do you get to interact with llamas / alpacas, exotic deer big & small, cows and bulls with enormously long horns (red, long haired highland cattle & Ankole - Watusi breed)...And many others!?!
Billy Ross — Google review
We enjoyed feeding the animals. I was disappointed that there was no giraffe or highlander cow and they have closed all the walking attractions. No reptile attraction or tortoises. You can not get put og ypur car for any pictures anywhere. When I asked questions about it to see if it was permanent, the woman seemed annoyed. We did enjoy the cows, emus and llamas. Just wished we new giraffe was gone and some attractions closed.

Took my kids and it was smaller then expected but so worth it, we went around twice to enjoy all the animals and feeding them. Some do get aggressive when you stop feeding but it was a wonderful experience and my kids absolutely loved it.
Shetiga Northcutt — Google review
Absolutely an experience! Had allot of feelings about this place but I can say it was really fun. I won't be going back because of the long horns scratching my car I buffed out what I could but it's not worth getting more. Also the long horns were very aggressive and the horns got a little too close for comfort once coming in the car window about half a foot from my passengers chest. Would love to do it again but the scratches from the long horns is not worth it. All that being said I'm glad I went because it was truly a real up close experience with exotic animals!

I took my daughters and their friend here for the first time and we had an awesome time. I definitely recommend checking it out. We fed the animals and even got to pet a few. With Covid, we weren’t allowed to get out of the car and explore but we still had a great time. The staff was super nice and explained everything when we arrived. I will be visiting again very soon.

Amazing!!! It was so much fun! I think a little more emphasis should be placed on what the rules are instead of just being handed a piece of paper. We bought the bucket of food and had a great time! Only thing we would do differently is RENT one of their vehicles! The animals will jump on your car, slobber etc. Renting a car would have been less of a hassle. Also the camel is pretty aggressive so watch out for that.
Charlsey Dyer — Google review
We visited the 4/5/21. We’ve always made this a priority stop when traveling because our family always has such a great time and the barrel of laughs that come when the animals put their head in your vehicle. It truly is priceless.
However this trip was different. The young lady at the window when entering was rude. EXTREMELY disrespectful and downright rude. If she doesn’t like her job she should find a new one. We were totally bummed about not being able to get out and explore at the end and the animals looked terrible. A lot of them were under weight, missing large patches of hair and some even seemed to weak to even get up and come to our van. We’ve had many years of fun coming here, but afraid this year will have been our last.

Hotel is a little older but makes up for it with the service, comfortable beds and balcony with lakeside view. It is very quiet and quaint with no loud traffic or music. There is a nice restaurant in the lodge next to the harbor to enjoy breakfast or dinner. I love the park but the old lady at the campground office when i checked in is not friendly, she is rude! After greeting her good afternoon and told her "I'm here to get my car tag for camp tonight". She just blurted "what name!" - No good old Southern greeting like "afternoon, how are you?"....just looked at me asked for my name! Ma'am just because you see I'm different that you assume I'm stupid! You made me feel ignorant and stupid...anyway, I love the campground and the park...I just don't like the Old lady in the campground office!

This is the second year we've taken our family to Joe Wheeler for the weekend. Last year we stayed at the lodge, but this year the kids (adults) stayed in the lodge and we rented a cottage so that we could have a gathering place. The cottage and location is beautiful. The only problem is that the beds are not comfortable at all. Check in was easy, all of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had a great weekend!

This review is for the picnic and swimming area.
First we had to pay to get in, which would've been fine but then come to find out it looks nothing like the photos. There was trash everywhere and even though pets aren't supposed to be allowed on the beach there were mounds of dog poop everywhere. You couldn't even swim because of how gross everything was. I do not recommend swimming or having a get together here.

Campground and bike trails! I'm only reviewing the Campground and the bike trails because we haven't stayed at the lodge. The campground is very nice with a lot of spots having beautiful views of the water. Check the spot map because some spots have shade trees and some have no shade. Full hookups and everything seems to be maintained well. We love to ride the bike trails. Trails are pretty well maintained and are fairly easy enough for most riders. You will see deer if you come here. We see them every time and they are beautiful! It's overall just a beautiful park.

This state park is very relaxing to come to. My family and I love coming here. The rooms are spacious & clean, the beds are comfortable. The staff is welcoming and friendly. They have a great pool. I've been coming here since I was a child. I love the docks that you can walk to as well as the swing set. You can get beautiful pictures of sunsets here. Also great place to see birds. There are so many that build nests at the lodge. It is so cute to see them!
The lodge has a great restaurant. I love the Wheeler burger. Their Easter buffet is amazing and had such a huge selection of items. The gift shop in the restaurant is also fun. I found some cute crystals. Definitely worth checking this location out and spending the night. I love it here! Very peaceful!
They also offer cabin rentals on the lake. The new cabins look beautiful right on the lake. I remember staying at the older cabins when I was younger. There is a fun little old fashion play ground that is great to see still around.

This was the 1st time I went to the Hot Air Balloon Jubilee Festival!
It was absolutely amazing.
The balloons were spectacular..
There were thousands of people there, and everyone was enjoying the festivities..
Families brought their children, parents, and pet's..
Everyone was laughing, singing, dancing!
There were all different kinds of food vendors, vendors selling souvenirs..
It was amazing watching the balloons air up, and some were riding people. Some were flying up and around..
There was no one trying to take the fun out of the day!
It was honestly the best time I'd had in a long time!
There was no violence of any kind, thank goodness.
These days and times, the way people want to go around shooting in crowds and killing innocent people it almost makes you scared to go anywhere anymore!
I'm so thankful and happy the whole Memorial weekend was awesome!
We only went on Saturday but it was absolutely wonderful, we spent just about all day and enjoyed every moment of it...
It was my boyfriend and I with our precious puppy, and we all loved it ❤️
I'm already looking forward to next year!!
God bless and thanks for such a wonderful day 🙏

My family loves to come here during the summer...It has something for all age groups. Im not a fan of their restroom/changing areas but what do you expect at a waterpark where everyone is wet and sweaty. Other than the restrooms I would say its pretty clean. I love the option of renting a cabana by the lazy river, it came in handy with the younger kids wanting a spot out of the sun to take a break and it was only $20.00 to rent for the entire day. Dont waist your money renting floats because we were told (by the lady at the rental station) there were abandoned floats all over the park so if you see some just setting around that nobody has been using just help yourself.

Visited for Memorial Day weekend and the annual Jubilee show. Unfortunately not too many balloons went up when we were there. Traffic was a pain but not the nightmare one would think it would be. Seemed like a lot of money for a mediocre water park. Can't wear goggles in anything and the locker rentals were a joke. We paid $8 for a locker that had the lock broken off and someone else's things in it. We were told they couldn't do a refund! The lifeguards definitely seemed whistle happy and eager to yell at people. After waiting for 45 minutes due to lightning, we ended up leaving.

Bike trail was excellent meandering around the water and the golf course. Relatively flat with a lot of good views. Crushed gravel for the most part of the ride I took with a couple of nine-year-old boys on their bikes— and we did about 45 minutes worth. Selection of 125 religious & historic miniature buildings crafted by a monk in a 4-acre park.
The grotto is a classic folk art spot associated with a monastery in Alabama everyone should visit. The art is laid out along a loop through an old quarry. There are plaques with information on each. The path is paved with significant hills going in and coming out. The gift shop offers fresh baked goods made at the monastery. Definitely walk over to the chapel to join the monks chanting prayers.

Definitely chat with the lady up front about the history of the place. I really enjoyed hearing her speak to another group. Helps you appreciate it more. The grotto can get crowded easily as the sculptures are fairly close together. Grab a pamphlet so you know what to look for and catch some info about each creation. Don't skip the graveyard area. It's tucked away and you'll miss it if you're not looking out. Strollers are allowed but I can understand why wheelchairs are not. There are some steep gradients to navigate and may be a recipe for disaster especially after rain/weather events.

After hearing about this place for years, I finally checked it out. The miniature structures are absolutely gorgeous and so ingenious. You've never seen anything like it because the materials are so eclectic. Glass, shells, jewelry, various stones and pieces of broken plates and pottery are all combined to form these extraordinarily unique replicas. Brother Joseph Zoettl created all of these structures by himself, before the internet and without formal artistic training. Just incredible. I also bought some cinnamon raisin bread baked by the monks. It's yummy!

Wow! I'm so amazed that someone took so much time and spend so many of their days to make such an extraordinary beautiful work to look at! The replicas were down to the t. I loved it and so did my wife! Definitely a great place to take the kids or anyone that's any type of history buff.
John Taylor — Google review
Good place for detail lovers or architectural lovers. Lot of details of work on the building and structures. It also had historic places, 7 wonders of the world, except India. So, I was little upset about that. I feel that tickets could be little cheaper, because they failed to maintain the place well. The structure has spider web and dust all over the building.

The grotto and surrounding grounds of St. Bernard are a relaxing getaway for anyone. The miniature replicas of famous places will fascinate children and adults alike. Take your time and read the brochure as you leisurely stroll along the shady winding path. Sit on a bench and relax. Take the time to admire the detail of the craftsmanship and let the kids try to pick out all the odd materials used to create the artistry; marbles, shells, jars, old flashlight parts, and more. The gift shop is nice with a lot of quality items. Don't forget to check out the other public areas around St. Bernard.

This place is worth a visit if you are passing through or live nearby. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. The tour is a self guided walk so you can go at your own pace. It is NOT a modern attraction.

Absolutely gorgeous landmark with lots of history. Well worth driving to this place and taking a tour and reading about how it was built . They have a beautiful beautiful display during Christmas time and Easter is just stunning. We used to go to the morning sunrise service. There is also a gift shop. I would say that the little outdoor tour could be somewhat strenuous if you were trying to push a stroller or if you have knee or back problems but it’s definitely not a hiking trail. Just a nice little stroll ..absolutely gorgeous.. They even earned a spot on Cullmanopoly!

Pretty place the miniature buildings are very unique and interesting but they could use some maintenance and TLC on some of them. The church where the Monks are burried was beautiful inside. Tickets for Grotto are $10 for adults and worth it.

It's definitely a worthy side trip even if you're not religious. The work and creativity that had to go into it was impressive. You can leisurely explore the area in just a couple of hours.

Just the coolest place to go visit. It definitely blew away our expectations. I don't think you need to be religious to appreciate the work/art put into the individual pieces. Well maintained surrounding area just felt like a nature walk with really cool displays. The pictures/reviews don't do it justice. Make it a stop on your trip, you won't regret it!

The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum is home to an astonishing array of motorbikes, dating back over a century of production. The museum also features a 16-turn road course, which is used by Grand-Am Racing Series and AMA Superbike.
Still absolutely in awe of the place. As a motorcycle enthusiast, there was so much to see. Everything was placed well so pictures weren't crowded or difficult to take. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the museum clean and nice. I would have liked to spent several days there as there is just so much to see. Will be a lasting memory, and I highly recommend going.

This is a Motorcycle lovers paradise. They also have vintage cars and race cars. There is an entire area donated to Lotus. The building is designed so beautifully and the motorcycles and vehicles are very well kept.
You would probably need to spend 4-5 hours to view Museum thoroughly. They also have a nice gift shop.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is also a track at location. This day a private club was using it.
I paid $33 total online for 2 tickets. If you would like 10% military discount you have to wait to pay on site. There is no military discount at store.
Recommend visiting if in the area!!!

Amazing museum at the Barber Raceway. Enormous collection of mostly motorcycles. Also has some glimpses of the working racing research and design areas. If you plan to read every placard for each item you will need several hours. "There is just so much!", was the constant refrain as we toured.

Une visite à faire absolument ! Quelle collection immense!

A visit to absolutely do! What a huge collection! Lots and lots of motorcycles, from the very first to the very recent, some crazy, some original, some classics... We'll be amazed. 5 floors of motorcycles, cars and bicycles! And even motorcycle carousels!
We just can't access the basement which is reserved for vehicle renovation but as there is a large well in the middle, we can see the cars being repaired.
And what's more, the icing on the cake, we have access via footbridge to the test circuit! A pretty layout with flowers, waterfalls, funny or giant animal sculptures. And a bridge to clearly see the cars racing.
An exceptional visit! And practically alone!

Superb museum! Never a huge fan of motorcycles before I walked in, but one just can't help becoming one after walking out. The collection is unreal, going back to late 1800s, from all over the world to boot. Plus you can see a race, if they have one when you visit, which makes the place that much more memorable.

One of the nicest collections of motorcycles I have ever seen. If you like all generations and makes and models of motorcycles, you will love it. The history in this building is amazing. Take an audio tour if you can. There is 5 levels of exhibits, ample bathrooms, a banquet area for conferences and corporate gatherings. State of the art facility. Definitely for the motorcycle history buff.

There isn't anything I can truly say to make this museum better than it already is. It is beautiful! It is by far one of the most precise and excellently built interior structures for a motor or auto museum I have ever seen in my life. It is pretty breathtaking and wonderful to see. Pictures don't do it justice. I highly recommend you visiting and seeing amazing history.

Incredible volume of vehicles. Vintage and historic motorcycles and automobiles, racing and street stock. Find the $9 Million Britten and $4 Million Bentley. This is less than half the overall inventory! There is a race track for interested drivers. This is an unbelievable collection. Finally, find the Y2K turbine motorcycle and the Lotus family letter affirming Barber's largest collection of Lotus car collection.

My family and I took a last-minute getaway to Birmingham and stumbled upon the Barber Musuem. The facility and grounds were extremely clean and very well laid out. And the workers and everyone we spoke to were all very friendly. I especially loved being able to watch our 2 year olds son's face as we were able to walk over the race track and see the motorcycles out racing. Even if you are not a motorcycle enthusiast, this is definitely worth a visit. We will be back!!

This place is massive! They have an insane amount of motorcycles, plus a wide variety of other things to look at (such as cars). There is also a race track with overlooks to view the track. We were there today and Porsche had cars racing out on the track. There is a scenic trail to walk through with sculptures and a nice waterfall. It was $20 per adult and we spent hours there. It is definitely worth the price and a visit.

This place is mind boggling! So cool! I'm not particularly into motorcycles, but my buddy who I went on vacation with suggested we go there. I was amazed how much I thoroughly enjoyed myself. They have every kind of motorcycle imaginable, but also a large collection of boat motors, race cars, and antique cars.

This place was amazing - the incredible detail put into this place, the number of motorcycles, the unique layout of the building, the history of the bikes and cars! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the 4 hours we spent walking through the display and observing the cars on the awesome track outside. Even with the July heat, we loved being able to stand on the bridges over the track as the cars raced around. They even have a lovely wooded path that leads to a gazebo where we sat for a bit. This large wooded area is in the middle of the winding track.

This museum is an experience! There’s a ton to see and do. It’s not a boring old motorcycle place just for boys! It’s displayed in such a way that it’s interesting, informative and awesome! Come on a day when the cars are racing and stand on the glass panels in the bridge and watch the cars fly by beneath your feet!!

If you have even the slightest interest in motorcycles, then the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum is nothing short of a pilgrimage you must make. I've visited this awe-inspiring museum four times, and even that doesn't feel sufficient to fully appreciate the grandeur of its collection.
With over 1,600 vintage and modern motorcycles and racing cars on display, this place is truly the Guggenheim of motorcycles. The collection spans from 1904 to the present and includes bikes from 16 different countries, representing over 140 different marques. More than 900 motorcycles are on display at any given time, so you can imagine the scale of this monumental endeavor.
This museum isn't just a showcase; it's a love letter to the world of motorcycling. With bikes hailing from as far away as Australia, New Zealand, and Sweden, the diversity and depth of the collection are unparalleled. It's no wonder that this Birmingham, Alabama gem is considered the largest motorcycle museum in the world.

Wow is the only word to explain this place, the magnitude, the sheer size of this place is huge. So many cars, motorcycles, cars racing was magnificent. This place is spotless, staff was great and very informative. Had a great time visiting and definitely worth the visit. Hope to be back soon.

This place is amazing. If you are a motorcycle enthusiast, doubly so. They have a huge, beautiful collection of motorcycles. Ranging from the late 1800's, to current production bikes, and everything in between. They also have plenty of cars, with a large display focused on Lotus vehicles, as well as a few other interesting items like outboard motors. The grounds outside by the race track are beautifully landscaped, and there is a trail you can walk with various pieces of artwork throughout a wooded setting. This is the best vehicle museum I have ever been to. Now I just need to get down there when there is a race on their track to complete the experience.

This stunning museum must be seen to be believed! My only issue is the kids tickets are too pricy, but it's not the most easily appreciated museum for kids. The thoughtfulness that's gone into the layout and the architecture is amazing, and the largest Lotus collection in the world is a real cherry in top.

I was absolutely blown away by this museum. They have thousands of bikes there on display. Bikes I've never heard of before and all of my favorite motorcycle producers like Indian and Harley-Davidson. They also have a racetrack out back where you can watch races or pay to drive one of their vehicles or your own at high speeds. There are five floors of display

What a collection! If you or someone you love, loves anything that has wheels on it, this is a must! My entire family was in awe with everything there!
Brice, a new employee of 3 months couldn’t rant more about how much he loved working there, and how great the owner was. He even mentioned the owner knows all the employees by name! He mentioned he’s looking to save his money working there to buy a bike on display! Loved his passion and excitement!
Brice overheard how much my husband, 12 and 2 year old wanted to see the Shelby 1000, he looked at his watch and told us, I’ve got 5 minutes, follow me! He gave us a private tour and my family was through the moon about it!
We had an amazing time, would highly recommend! Thanks Brice for an unforgettable experience!

Activity-packed park offering cave tours & a light show plus wall climbing & games.
I think we were there at an unpopular time, because we seemed to have the whole place practically to ourselves - and it was AWESOME! None of us had ever been there before, and we enjoyed every bit of it. The staff was delightful, and it was obvious that they all loved working there. The caverns were beautiful, but what really made it fun was the tour guides. They were funny and informative, and the history of the place is really cool. And then there were all the activities! So much fun. You know it's a good day when the kids are too tired to walk back to the car.
A few pro-tips - don't do the foam pit until last, because you'll get totally soaked. Wear sturdy walking shoes in the cavern. Bring some extra cash for the gift shop, because it's awesome! Wear glasses or goggles in the cannon shooting gallery! Plan to do EVERYTHING!

Great visit here today. We really enjoyed the cavern tour. Great new lazer show during the tour. The group was a little big in our opinion but the guide did well managing it. I think a smaller group would have made for a much better time. But it is a great time if your in the area.

I would give more than 5 stars if I could!
100% totally worth the hour and a half drive from the Montgomery area and the all inclusive tickets. So much information inside the cave. I want to talk all about what we learned but don’t want to ruin any surprises for anyone if they go. A huge 12 story tall cavern the size of a football field. A light show inside the cavern at the end. A beautifully curated gift shop. Lots of fun attractions. Food bar and a coffee bar, fudge and other confections. Very nice grounds/landscaping. Wonderful staff and tour guides. Perfect weather today.

we drove up today from the Columbus Ga Area.. about 2 hrs.
let me say, I'm giving only 3 stars, but it may not be reflective of the location. I'll get to it.
so.. overall, the Caverns park was clean, friendly and family friendly. it's attached to a campground I can't really comment on. it did look fairly nice from a distance. it's only getting three stars because it seemed most all the activities were targeting younger kids. ages 5/6 to maybe 12/13. not terribly exciting activities for slightly older kids. the prices for each activity, seemed a bit high, but I'm not sure how to lower them much and still make $$. a fine line there. We really did enjoy the cavern tour itself. it was a cool experience, and educational with some of the history associated with it.
End thoughts.. if you are passing through the area, if you have young kids, or maybe grandkids, it might be worth the visit. if you have older kids, it's not really worth the stop, and not really worth driving more than an hour for. Again, not a bad place, but not worth the cost + traveling to, just for the cavern park. maybe if you're camping?

We came on July 4th. Great day trip. Cameron’s we’re cool to see and hear the history. Asa was a wonderful guide and juggler!! The laser show was a bit underwhelming, music and sound were good though. Lots of activities for the kids. Some of them need some attention, but overall recommend for a days visit.

The experience was great! It is a little pricey for what you get, but it’s a great experience especially for a family with children! I paid about $175 for four people. The business does try to get people’s business by being very helpful and being polite. The park has a relaxing atmosphere! We went during the week, and there were a good number of people that day. My kids got to experience all the attractions that were published on their website. The attractions are mainly geared for younger people though. If you’re an adult, I wouldn’t invest in the all-inclusive ticket if I were you. The cave trek and laser show should be just fine. The place isn’t pristine perfect, but it’s not as bad as other reviews have made it out to be.

Our family had such a great time here. I was worried our teenagers (19 & 15 yrs old) would be too old for the activities, but that is definitely not the case. It was a lot of fun for everyone! The maze was both hard and hilarious, the air cannons kept us laughing, and the basketball challenge was a pleasant surprise. More to do, but the cavern itself and the tour by Evan was AMAZING. The history of the cavern was so interesting. We loved the experience of being in total darkness, and the waterfall was breathtaking. I really cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you to the entire staff!

Coming from someone who's only ever visited one other cave (Ruby falls) I have to say that the main cavern is a sight to behold it felt like I was in some rock cathedral. The tour guide gave us ample time to enjoy the space, I did not feel like we were rushed at all. The history behind DeSoto caverns is somewhat interesting, but overall you're really there for the view. I would highly recommend anyone who likes caves/caverns, to definitely give this one a go.

Family 4 went today! It was a cold day so not everything was opened. We did everything we could. Cute little place for the family to enjoy. With that being said, I think it is a bit overpriced with everything not opened. Maybe consider a "winter" deal. My 5 and 3 year enjoyed it. We love finding caves and LOVED the laser show after the tour. It was majestic! We will be back and hope to camp out next time.

Overall, we enjoyed our experience. Most everyone was nice and very helpful. The train was inoperable while there, but there were many other activities for the Littles. The tour was great! Our guide made it rather enjoyable. Although, it was a little more on the pricey end. Approximately $50 per person.

My family stopped by and had an amazing time. We had a worker named Ervin or Erwin I believe. He took us in the cave, showed us the many activities (archery, train, water balloons etc.) The customer service was so friendly.
Andrea Montgomery — Google review
The caverns themselves were amazing and our tour guide, Anna, was great, everything else was "eh" at best. First, the tour is WAY overpriced. The grounds themselves are in complete disrepair and are falling apart. The gift shop floor is hazardous, the faucets in the bathrooms were falling off, none of the doors had latches that worked and there are no employees. No signs for directions, no information, nothing. You walk in and just wonder around until you figure things out. $130 for 2 adults and 2 kids is RIDICULOUS if you can't keep the facilities maintained. Also, I personally feel they have completely desecrated the cave. They have made so many "adjustments" and "alterations" you can't tell what is genuine and what is not. The colored lights make it hard to tell what the natural color of the formations are. There are wires running through so many formations and we are asked not to touch the formations, yet, they have destroyed many of them. The light show at the end, although impressive, has nothing to do with the cave itself and is a cheap ploy to bring in more tourism. Overall, I was not impressed with the Majestic Caverns overall and was disappointed that instead of focusing on the history and preserving the caves they have turned them into a money scheme.
Amanda Nolan — Google review
This place is pretty cool. From WI and saw this place on Google. Decided to go day off the Iron Bowl, so it was dead. We were told from locals that it gets cold down in the caverns, but rest assured it's a comfortable 60 degrees. It's a guided tour, you can't touch anything- but plenty of photo opportunities and learning. Highly recommend if you haven't been. Waited less than 5 mins to start. Don't forget to tip your guide (Atticus you rocked!)!

The cavern is amazing. Having extra minutes to take more photos would have been nice but we spent 2 days exploring.
Some of the activities need renovations but they were still quite enjoyable.
I was really hoping to get a Majestic Cavern mug (loved the DeSoto clay mugs they use to have before the name change) but maybe one day!!!
We spent 3 days at the campground. Picnic table was rotted and falling apart but that's why we bring own own plastic table ... weather and nature happens. I definitely recommend coming to camp and spend a few days to fully enjoy the park.

We bought the all inclusive tickets online, literally the night before.
They have cave walks every hour, it's about a 45 minute walk through
If you have fidgety kids, I don't recommend the actual cave, but the activities up top are super fun!
All the employees were incredibly hands on, and very supportive of my special needs child.

Overall great birthday experience for my 12 year old daughter & our family as a whole. But the tour is way too long. We didn't get to experience whatever "light show" there was supposed to be. All of the attractions were not available & there should be some type of alarm for the train rides. We were so into the park and enjoying being outside on a nice day so really couldn't pay attention to the time. The gift shop items are a bit pricey and she said the bday fudge was not appetizing. I spent $24 for a bracelet. But I did it for my baby girl.

Camp ground is definitely run down and the bathrooms are disgusting! All 3 bathrooms the toilets would clog and Wobble real bad one of the toilets was leaning really bad about to tip over. Bathrooms do not get cleaned regularly! I stayed for 4 night and didn’t even see a single maintenance worker. Left a message to park staff to call me they never called me back. Toilets leaked sewer water at the base when flushed!! Customer service is terrible! I had called to confirm that they would be opening on Friday once we showed up this guy told us they had closed it was only 11am. After complaining they said they would do just one tour for our group. Very unreliable communication from park hosts. I would definitely not camp here again! Only reason they got 2 starts was because the cave tour was pretty good. Laser show was great tour is not very long and is a little expensive for the duration! I was very disappointed with all the amenities and the camp ground! It’s a real shame because this place is well advertised and seems great online but is very misleading!

McWane Science Center is a great place for kids to explore science and technology. With permanent exhibits covering a variety of topics, as well as interactive exhibits and programs for children of all ages, there's something for everyone at this Birmingham museum. The grounds also feature an aquarium, World of Water Aquariums, and Itty Bitty Magic City which are perfect spots for little ones to learn about fish and other aquatic creatures.

The science museum is an awesome place for a day trip, and the kids loved it. I'm very surprised that it was not busier. It was practically empty.
Our kids loved being able to pet the sting rays and the tiny town.

They change features out, so there's something new every few months.

Fun for the whole family! Lots of ways to learn. While we were there my daughter was able to hold a sea anemone, pet a sea star, learn about various topics from the staff doing demonstrations, and use all of the wonderful interactive exhibits. There's a sting ray and shark petting tank which is a great experience as well! Added bonus with the IMAX in the building! Definitely get yourself a ticket. This place is fantastic for the kids. You will need an entire day to explore and observe the center. It has some things to do, the kids wont get bored. It is divided in three sections. First floor is science and very hands- on. The second they have dinosour exhibit. They have a dedicated area for kids 6 years old under, and it is very pretty. It is worth your time and money. I had been different kids museum but this one has everything in one.

A Huge aquarium, a tank to touch rays, kinetic interactive exhibits, an In-Door self-generating tornado, 5yo and below kids exhibits with interactive water vortexes, and much more. FULL STARS!

They do a great job at providing a place for your kids (and you) to explore, learn, and have fun while they are at it. It’s great for all ages! I’ve been going there for years, both as a child and with children. It’s also a great place for field trips. They have really cool temporary exhibits that come and go as well. I loved when they had the giant Lego room and you could build and race Lego cars down big ramps. We highly recommend McWane.
The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute is a museum that tells the history of the 1960s Civil Rights Movement and other human rights issues in the United States. It has permanent exhibits on both the past and present of human rights, as well as various other galleries and meeting rooms.
My wife and I, a retired cop and nurse had the distinct pleasure of making the acquaintance of Marshay Webb, BCRI Operations Manager today. Sometimes it's hard to believe that these events occurred during our lifetimes ? It's a graphic illustration that it did. Soon my generation will be gone and the institutional knowledge will go with us. But your Museum will continue to share this knowledge. Thank you for letting us enjoy your beautiful interpretive Museum!

Talk about an immersive experience. The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute was an experience that allowed me to connect a lot of dots. I’ve attended tours in Atlanta & Washington DC about the Civil Rights Movement and this was just another piece of the puzzle.

What a powerful place to experience! Take your time & take it in. It reminds me how even when you advocate for the things that matter in loving ways, the response can be brutal. I especially love that the experience connects you to your own story and standing up for your values.

Fascinating and moving museum. The exhibits are thoughtful and well executed, and the facility well-designed for both education and reflection. The history here is both local and touched the world. Some of the other reviews on here are baffling. This isn't a theme park. It's not supposed to entertain you. Wouldn't recommend for younger kids; there's not much for them. Otherwise this is a must-visit in Birmingham.

Wonderful museum, right in the heart of one of the most dramatic scenes of the civil rights movement. Give yourself a couple of hours at least; worth the visit. The exhibits were powerful and informative. Learned a lot.

Thoroughly told the history. Difficult to watch the videos and see the images, however necessary, as this is part of US history. My daughters are 8 and 11. They struggled at parts, as it was challenging for them to see images and hear certain aspects, but thankful they are learning now what happened in our country.

I'm not from the USA and we drove though Alabama today and then visited this museum. And I found it incredibly beautiful yet also confrontational. The museum is very well done and builds up well. I am not an emotional person but this museum actually made me cry and I really needed a break halfway to process the Incredible horror that was (and perhaps still is) done to people. Especially considering what I saw driving through Alabama earlier today it made me angry about the injustice that still exists, the ignorance of people waving around their "confederate flags". But I was also really impressed with the strength of the people who where able to stand up for justice and equality in the way they did. The staff was super friendly and I would absolutely recommend to visit this museum. My only comment would be that there should be an expansion to display the ongoing struggle, and the gift shop could be improved too.

Everytime we go out of town we look for educational museums and places to visit that talk about our history. This place didn't disappoint. Even though we've been to several Civil Rights Museums, this one not only focused on the movement but also Birmingham's role. A must visit.

We visited this museum after we went to EJI in Birmingham and to Selma. This museum is the perfect way to end a civil rights tour of Alabama (with the above mentioned museums/sites). The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute brought together and coalesced our previous experiences and knowledge.

Great experience from the ticket booth to the ending of the tour. So much information learned about the history of Civil Rights in the South. Prepare to read signages, watch videos, and view historic scenery and statues. Super educational and a must see!

Was a very informational museum but you also have to be aware of who funded the museum, who is the audience, and what is the narrative being told?
Our director of our Southern Civil Rights Trip taught us to ask those questions to ourselves. He said banks that contributed towards slavery gave money to the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and so their message is fuzzy. Because they are trying to clear their name.
There are some things worth seeing and learning here but there was a very confusing display about the KKK. I didn’t get what the display was teaching us because I just felt disgusted seeing real KKK wardrobe (that was anonymously donated said the sign 🙄) and hearing the quotes and phrases on the TV made no sense. It didn’t connect to tell a story or anything. So that was very odd.
All in all, I highly recommend going to the Equal Justice Initiative museum (The Legacy Museum) in Montgomery for learning more about history and the Slave Haven Museum in Memphis, TN.

Amazing exhibits with lots of beautiful art pieces. A must-see stop if you're in Birmingham, along with the 16th St. Church
Julia DeWitt — Google review
A group of us came here from New York and Atlanta to learn more about and appreciate the civil rights era.
This is a very nice museum that is well organized. On the positives, I saw my first KKK uniform in person. There's multiple videos that gives you an overview of the history, especially in Birmingham and Selma. The security staff and ticket booth staff were very pleasant and welcoming.
As far as opportunities, it's a little light on original artifacts. Some of the money spent on things like an automatic door to the video room could probably be better spent elsewhere. The staff inside the museum seemed rigid and a little more concerned about going home than educating guests, especially disappointing during this time of the year. I don't fault the humans, but maybe the strategy emphasis should be different.
Overall, good museum but could be so much more.

I went here at the beginning of November. I was so grateful my friends and I bought tickets online because it was sold out the day that we went. I highly recommend going to this museum as there is a lot of history that is shared and for us to learn about. Everyone was so kind and helpful, and I encourage you to check out their gift store!

The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute is a profound and impactful museum that offers a valuable and educational experience. This historic institution pays tribute to the significant events and individuals who played pivotal roles in the Civil Rights Movement. You will begin with an 8 minute introductory video, then you are transported back in time, surrounded by powerful exhibits and artifacts that chronicle the struggle for equality. The museum's thoughtfully curated displays and interactive elements provide a comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced and victories achieved during this transformative era in American history. The exhibits not only inform but also inspire visitors to reflect on the ongoing fight for justice and equality. The knowledgeable and passionate staff further enrich the experience, providing valuable insights and answering questions with depth and sincerity. A visit to the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute is a humbling and thought-provoking journey that leaves a lasting impact, reminding us of the importance of standing up for justice and promoting social change.

Beautiful beautiful place. Especially the sunset by the bell in the end, it’s perfectly lined up for a great end to our self guided tour.
This museum is well designed to tell a store that anyone can appreciate. We go here on a MLK weekend and it wasn’t busy unfortunately.
The Vulcan Park and Museum sits atop Red Mountain, encompassing a green space and an interactive museum detailing the city's industrial past. You can visit the park or take the elevator to the observation tower for panoramic views of Birmingham.
I love that this was a fun and easy hike up to from 5 points! I didn't get to go exploring the trails, just the museum and statue, but still enjoyed it quite a lot. One $6 ticket allows you into the museum and a ride up the elevator to the feet of the statue (or you also have the option to walk the staircase *inside* the pillar, which is absolutely what I did!). The museum is nicely done, approximately 7-8 rooms with the history of the town, culture, community, and struggles. It also gives a history of why this spot was so important to Birmingham. I would have loved to see more of the cave aspect, but I can only imagine it's not as safe or stable... You get a great overview of the city from even the base of the statue! There are binoculars to use, and a little drink and snack cart (with adult beverages!) to treat yourself after that hike. I loved that they had this really neat bicycle tuning tool near the parking lot! I've never seen anything like it! It had everything you could need to fix anything with your bike. How thoughtful!

I took my daughter on a very spur of the moment visit here. There was a super neat museum with a scavenger hunt to do while going through. Helps the kids pay attention instead of just running through. Everything was clean and well taken care of. The people working were very friendly and helpful. My daughter loved going to the lookout at the top of the statue. We took the elevator up and the stairs down. The kid loved the acoustics in the stairwell and took advantage by singing. The lady at the bottom of the statue praised my daughter's abilities, which made her day. They have a penny press machine, which is a cheap way to get a souvenir. The only negative is that the gift shop is pricey...but what gift shop isn't..

Small area and average park. Sufficient parking space available. You can see the entire downtown area from the Vulcan statue which is accessible via lift but you need to buy tickets for that. Good location for a morning walk or evening gathering. I didn't see any outlets inside but there is a museum and a small souvenir store inside.

☆☆☆☆☆ Amazing monument, museum, and history lessons! Treat yourself- visit!! Staffed by friendly and helpful people 🙂 The monument, museum, and grounds are all beautiful, well-maintained, and CLEAN! There is a beautiful well- shaded garden area with CLEAN picnic tables. There are 156 steps to climb to top AND a clean "window"-elevator option as well. We arrived around 1pm and wish we could see it all lit up tonight but we must continue on our road trip within the hour. 🫤 plan at least 1 hour for your visit... have fun!!

We visited last month and really enjoyed our time. We arrived after 6pm so the museum was closed. The gentleman at the booth also informed us that the statue was closed for viewing as they were repairing something that had caused water damage. Nonetheless, we took in the views, watched the sunset, all while my daughter ran around the whole place. Overall, it’s a great place to hang out with a unique view of the city!

Unexpected, simple beauty. Great museum to learn some history of Birmingham, the Civil Rights movement, how the Vulcan came to be....even Coke and Pepsi. The park grounds are well manicured. Great views of the city can be had here without even climbing to the Vulcan's highest level. Being able to take the stairs or the glass elevator up the statue is a great option. You are only able to get to the foot of the Vulcan which is still extremely high. Overall a great park.

Nice small park. Enjoyed a couple of hours exploring the museum and statue. Hubby & relish learning about the area we are visiting. Lots of reading. Nice green areas where families were picnicking with small children running around. Statue is high up. Hubby enjoyed that better than I. Nice view of Birmingham. Elevator available for anyone that 159 steps is too much for. Which includes us. Lovely staff, very helpful. $5 fee per person was reasonable to assist in upkeep to us.

We stopped by the Vulcan Park and Museum before it was opened for the day, so I cannot speak to the museum itself. But the huge Vulcan monument is pretty impressive. It is the largest cast iron statue in the world, and is the city symbol of Birmingham, Alabama, United States, reflecting its roots in the iron and steel industry. We also enjoyed viewing the Lone Pine Mine of the same property as well as walking down the old rail bed for the Birmingham Mineral Railroad. It was a good stop for us to see this Birmingham landmark.

I was in Birmingham, Alabama on a business trip and I had a little time before my next flight so I decided to take a quick ride to Vulcan Park and Museum. I was not disappointed! Even though it was an overcast day, the views of the city were very nice and I very much enjoyed the walk through the nice park, the informative signs posted along the way and, of course, the imposing statue of Vulcan, the Roman god of metalworking and forging! Inside, I found a museum that was full of good information about the history of this great working city and birthplace of the civil rights movement. I will sure come back with my family so they can experience this unique place in the history of America.

Cute little museum located in Birmingham, Alabama that offers majectic views of the city. There was no wait when we went here and not a lot of crowd. Plenty of free parking too. You will learn a lot of history in this small museum and they have activities for kids to do while they are in the museum. The park was huge and peaceful. A must visit place when you are in Birmingham. They have a small gift shop in front of the museum and I say, you’ll need about an hour to see everything.

This place was so beautiful, I even had to donate just to preserve a part of history. From the views of the city to the statue, I was not disappointed! Definitely recommend and tickets are $4 per adult.
Home to a petting zoo, golfing & beaches, this vast park has camping, hiking trails & fishing.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this park. From the amazing, helpful and accommodating staff to the landscape and activities. We tried to explore as much as possible in our 3 day, 2 night stay and it simply wasn't enough time! Fantastic hiking trails, equine facilities, kayak/paddleboards, camping, the wildlife center. The road construction before you reach the park was an annoyance, but after straightening out our directions it was smooth sailing! We will be back!

This state park and campground are so wooded and very pretty! Sites are somewhat spacious depending on the site you get and where it's located in the campground. They all have a picnic tables and firepit ring. They have a store with limited items, Firewood( $7.50 a bundle) and ice ($4.00? ) to purchase. Bathroom/ shower facilities are in need of serious updating but doable. ( this is the only reason I didn't give this campground 5 stars ). Tons of walking and biking trails right from the campground, nice and cheap laundry 4 of each machines, small beach and fishing
dock to use with such pretty scenery there. My husband is happy he's catching fishing while here! Park staff are super friendly and helpful too. You have to come check this campground and state park out, you won't be disappointed!

Amazing state park in Alabama. A beautiful spot write off of the highway. A lot of trail and activities to be had. We went fishing and had a great time. This is a great place for the family, an outing with a partner, or a space to clear your head. It cost 5 bucks to get in and if your over sixty it cost 2 bucks. Beautiful state park with a multitude of activities. I tent (primitive) camped this week at Oak Mountain. My site (A-60) had a treacherous uneven climb but it was do-able for a fairly able bodied person. I wouldn’t recommend if you are disabled or have knee problems.
The campsite itself was beautiful, fairly secluded and heavily wooded. It overlooks some RV sites but there was enough tree coverage to allow for seclusion.
The bathhouses are an easy walk but they are awful! I heard they are being renovated this year so I look forward to visiting again.
When I visited, I hiked a few trails, visited the bird sanctuary, went swimming at the lake and enjoyed peace accompanied by mild May weather. I can’t wait to visit again!

If you love to go hiking, this is an awesome state park to visit. Although there were some sections of the trail that were steeper to climb, the reward of viewing Peavine Falls was worth it. We also hiked to the King's Chair Outlook which had a beautiful view of the green forest, mountains (in the distance), and a lake below. There were some beautiful views from the mountain ridge and large rock formations(along the Blue Trail). We also enjoyed hiking to Maggie's Glen - a pretty little area with a small bridge over a flowing stream. Another beautiful hike is The Treetop Nature Trail that follows a meandering stream surrounded by greenery. The beginning of this trail has a boardwalk section where rehabilitated birds of prey are contained in outdoor enclosures. The trails are well marked and there are several connecting trails. We packed a lunch, snacks, and plenty of water to enjoy the natural beauty of this park.

Some nice hikes and pretty views. Also, quite a lot of variety of activities it seems like.
However, for someone like myself only really interested in hiking and camping, there are better places. There are lots of people and many of the hiking trails are shared with mountain bikes which makes them smooth and boring and annoyingly hazardous trying to watch out for fast-moving bikers.
For me, I'd much rather go to Bankhead or Guntersville than Oak Mountain. Both have better hiking, better views, better waterfalls, and significantly less people.

This is an incredible park to visit! It’s HUGE and includes horseback riding, a golf course, playground, kayak & paddle boat rental, swimming area, and more! There were very nice bathroom facilities at all parking areas. Gorgeous views. Drive through road and tons of hiking trails with bridges. Wish we had more than a few hours, I think you could spend several days exploring and still not see it all!
Stickers, magnets, T-shirt’s and stuffed animals at the park office, but very small selections.

Well maintained and clean. Attendees posted at front and back entrances and routinely patrolled to make sure everything is okay. Camp spots are marked with a post with the #s on them and are color coded to show different conveniences. Campground B doesn't look as well planned as the other sites. Some spots need a well experienced driver to back a camper into. Also could use a big grassy area to play catch, football, or maybe baseball without fear of hitting a car or camper

The park was very clean , fully staffed with courteous and respectful workers, and the rides were a lot of fun. The live shows every hour were exciting and entertaining. I would have given less stars only because of all the COVID changes but that is no fault of the park. Just know that there is a cashless system in place ( but you can load a card at kiosks throughout the park as well as the entrance) I was sad to find there were hardly any "shops" open along main street as well as our favorite "old-timey"picture store. I was also looking forward to the newest ride and had no idea it was not opened yet (rocket racer)
I really wish that Buzz Saw Falls or similar would come back.
I also missed seeing the General as I left .I had hoped to share a picture taken with my grandchildren the year she and her son opened the park.
It's only getting better! We usually make the trip once a summer but I may consider the season pass. Great price for everything that is included. (Beverages, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, and parking) A definite family park for all ages!

My 3 year old niece loved the Christmas lights but I personally thought it would be more. Theme was cute from prehistoric dinosaurs to biblical to 12 days of Xmas but I was expecting to be an extravaganza as in bright. Parts of drive was dim. Long line entering because we picked it on a Saturday. Once you enter, cars were pretty stretched out and I didn’t fill rushed. After being given all the free extras, We gladly paid $30 for a pizza that was giagiantic and fed all 6 of us. Rides, shows and wave pools were some of the highlights. Plenty to do and I must say from the entrance to the exit the place was neat and Tidy. We got there at the opening and it wasn't crowded but as the afternoon progressed it did fill up.

Although it would be great if tours were offered more frequently, visitors can still enjoy viewing about a dozen cars on display and purchasing souvenirs from the gift shop. The center also features informative exhibits highlighting examples of engines and tools used throughout Mercedes Benz's history, as well as a special section dedicated to F1 racing and Lewis Hamilton's championship-winning car.
All equipment was working great. 2 EQEs stopped by while we were there. Flawless experience. Started at 155kW -- fastest yet!

Friendly and informative staff. If you live all things Mercedes Benz, you should stop in and check it out. Oh, and stop by the gift shop while you’re there. Make sure you call first to make sure they’re open on the day you want to visit

A much needed refresher. What an experience. I was fortunate to be able to visit the Mercedes Benz Visitor Center for the 2nd time and what a face lift. The last time I visited was Brand Immersion. I am proud to be apart of an amazing Company. Our team of facilitators are truly phenomenal. They’re entertaining, funny and beyond friendly. The facility is amazing and very spacious. It’s pretty cool to see the where it all comes from.

I’ve been driving through this area for 3 months now, and since I have an EV, I use the charging station out front of this center. However, this “visitor center” has been “closed for training” for 3 MONTHS. I would love to tour it, but honestly, not sure they’ll ever open it.

Fun place to stop by if you’re driving through. Wish they would make tours a regular thing. I called almost a month in advance to add just myself to a tour. “Sorry full”. The visitors center is pretty nice. They have about a dozen cars to see. Small gift shop is very overpriced but what do you expect from Mercedes.

Excellent museum to go and visit as it offers extensive history on all models of the Mercedes Benz and even a glance into what to expect in the future. The factory had and excellent interior design with restroom and looking the the older car models was very exciting. And looking at some new cars really got me in the mood to drive.

Amazing! Plenty of Mercedes Benz history to admire. Lots of informative exhibits, examples of engines and tools used. AMG and Mercedes Benz souvenirs to take home from the gift shop. Special section of F1 information and the car Lewis Hamilton won a championship in. Definitely worth a visit.

Very nice place to charge the car, too bad it wasn't open when we stopped by.
The Paul W. Bryant Museum is a sports memorabilia museum located in the University of Alabama. It is home to exhibits, archives, and collections featuring some of the greatest stars from the university's athletic teams. The museum offers visitors an extensive display of trophies and artifacts that document the rich history of Alabama athletics. It is highly recommended for Alabama fans who want to see firsthand how their favorite team has evolved over time.
It being approximately my 6th or 7th time there, it was very special this time because I brought my 2 oldest grandsons, 14 and 12, with me to experience the atmosphere and tour the campus of the University of Alabama. We watched the Alabama vs LSU basketball game later Saturday night and then they attended the Jalen Milroe football camp at Hillcrest High School in Tuscaloosa. I also recommend staying at Homewood Suites Hilton in Tuscaloosa. Great time reminiscing with the grandsons about Alabama. Just had a cherished wonderful time and memory for me, but it will be memories for my grandsons for a longer time considering I'm in my 60's now. ✝️❤️🇺🇸🏈

University of Alabama football is a sports institution, and it has been made that way through a long tradition of winning that continues to this day. The man responsible for the school’s stellar reputation for winning is Paul Bryant. His years with the team, and the years of others who have coached the Crimson Tide for more than 130 years are on display at the Paul Bryant Museum.
I visited the Paul Bryant Museum while attending parent orientation for incoming freshman. I was fully aware of Bryant and his tremendous success on the field, but I knew only a little bit about the specifics of his time at Alabama and the years before he became head coach at this school. A visit to the Paul Bryant Museum was exactly what I needed to educate myself on University of Alabama football and how it has shaped and influenced college football.
This museum, while it is named after Paul Bryant and focuses on Paul Bryant, is really about the Alabama football team’s history as a whole. It steps you through the years of Bama football, starting way back in the 1800’s and continuing to the present day. The exhibits have much to read and learn and there are several noteworthy videos worth watching, to help you not just see but also hear about the people who played and coached at Alabama and helped make it the college football powerhouse that it is today.
I learned much from visiting the Paul Bryant Museum, not just about Bryant, but also about other coaches and players. Although I am fully aware of Paul Bryant’s legacy, record number of college wins, etc, I’m not well- versed on Alabama football overall. I did not even know, for example, that NFL quarterback Ken Stabler played at Alabama under coach Bryant. I didn’t know about the event that earned Bryant his nickname, Bear. I learned all these things and more during my visit and I exited the doors with a significant increase in my Alabama football IQ.
Alabama football has a fascinating past and the Paul Bryant Museum helps bring the memories back to life. Alabama football fans are certain to feel goosebumps as they tour this museum, but everyone who visits, even those with a marginal interest in the game, will come away feeling satisfied. It isn’t a very large museum and it can be visited in less than an hour. I wish it was bigger, and I would have liked to see even more exhibits, but this is still a good place to visit if you want to improve your knowledge of Alabama football and learn more about the people responsible for its rise to fame.

Very good museum with lots of Alabama memorabilia. The gift shop was cute with a variety of items to choose from. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend. At the time of this review the admission was $5 each form my husband and myself.

What an awesome place! If you love Alabama football and it's history, this is the place for you! Staff is nice, admission is cheap ($5 for adults) and we were able to take our time and enjoy the experience. Photos, articles, videos, and artifacts from the very beginning up until today, the life of the Alabama football program.
The gift shop even had tiny red plastic elephants I plan to leave hidden all over my brother's house to remind him who is the best! (Sadly, he is a TN fan...😞)

We took a day trip here from our Atlanta vacation because we're huge Alabama fans! My two kids loved seeing all the trophies and taking their picture with the Tusker! My 10yo son is named after Coach Bear Bryant, so he really enjoyed seeing the history. There's so much to see here and if you're a Bama fan, you absolutely MUST visit!! RTR!!

Bryant-Denny Stadium is the home stadium of the Crimson Tide football team at the University of Alabama. It is a well-maintained and impressive stadium that receives ample funding from alumni donations. Fans can be passionate and vocal but this is typical of any home team crowd. The atmosphere in the stadium is enjoyable, especially when watching the Million Dollar Band perform from great seats even in high up areas.
The A-Day game for the University of Alabama was a bit wet, but awesome. Everything in place but a possible worthy opponent. They play each other of course for the media, fans etc. Impressive Stadium. The sound system can lift you off your bum.

Great attraction even when the season isn’t going on. A lot of history around the stadium and on the campus. One of the many great stadiums in the state, and in the country. I’d highly suggest visiting whenever you get the chance. The walk of champions have a lot of history on it. Roll Tide ‼️

Hook ‘Em! The day we beat Bama! We had a great trip and an even better game! The stadium was decent and fairly clean. We sat in section NN13 and the trash/sewer smell was pretty bad. It was a heck of a walk up the never ending staircase. Bama fans were mostly friendly!

Being a huge college football fan, you always hear about the sold out, raucous Bryant Denny Stadium cheering on the tide and singing Dixieland Delight. I got to see an Alabama game before Saban left so that was nice and nice to also see an Alabama win. Great atmosphere and huge stadium. Really cool to see the coaches statues outside the stadium.
Josh Baltazar — Google review
A really cool stadium. With all of the alumni money flowing in, you would expect a really nice stadium. The grounds were well kept and maintained. As expected, the tide fans can be a little mouthy at times, but this is with any home team crowd. Had a great time here and would attend games in the future.

What an experience! I’ve lived in Alabama for 7 years and haven’t been to a game. We finally went to see my hometown team play (which ended very poorly for us) but we had a fantastic time! The atmosphere is unparalleled - so much excitement and involvement from all 100,000 Alabama fans! We’ll be returning in the future!

It's a beautiful football field. It really is. The stadium was bigger than I expected for a college. Do not buy the pretzels. They tasted like what Styrofoam would taste, like if you could eat it. Great experience overall

Such a great time every-time we come! The facilities are great! Plenty of bathrooms and tons of kiosks and carts to get refreshments. Of course the highlight is watching SABAN work his magic with those amazingly talented athletes!!! And that BAND! WOW

Had chance to visit Bryant Denny Stadium for A-Day and experience the Tide up close for myself; getting to see Saban before he left is an added plus. Watching the games on television are one thing but being in the stadium takes it to an entirely new level.

Love the whole place. Sat in the nose bleeds directly above the “Million Dollar Band” and they were still good seats. We were able to get a close view of Nick Saben and the team leave the Hotel Capstone. Saw the Bama percussion warm up and had a blast the whole time.
Taz zahnd — Google review
The football experience at this stadium is unmatched. We sat in the north zone which offered early access and unlimited food and drinks. There was a good selection of tailgate style food available. The view from this section was great. The seats were moderately comfortable is this section. They came with backs on them and differed from the stadium style bench seats. It's a great idea to get here early to avoid the crowd. Parking is scarce. You either pay $70 to park close, walk, or take the shuttle from the cheaper parking sections. The acoustic were great also. I would recommend and revisit. Roll tide!

Spent good money in great seats through Stub Hub. Drove all the way from Lubbock Texas because we love Alabama Football. Unfortunately couldn't enjoy our seats as an extremely large man sat next to us, occupying not only his seat but my wife's as well. We did not get to enjoy our seats. I have nothing against larger people, but they should have to pay for 2 seats so we can enjoy ours without him pretty much occupying ours!!!!!

Security was quick and easy to get through, gate was even easier and quicker to get through. The ramp to NN-7 section was amazing, makes getting to those "nose-bleed" seats a lot easier than stairs and they got their own concession stand. The lights and overall atmosphere = amazing 👏🏽 there are quite frankly, no bad seats here.

Spent the night in a Skybox at the stadium.
Though I was cheering for the other team, the atmosphere was amazing! They light show and fan engagement was electric.
The suite had great food and a good view.
The window. Rolled up and we were able to engage with the crowd.
It was a fantastic evening.

This was my first time being at an all SEC team game it was a good experience. I'm a University of Miami fan but it was good to be at another conference game. I really like the stadium and University of Alabama's college campus. I give them a thumbs up.

First time attending an SEC football game. Chattanooga, the fans (both Alabama and Texas), pre game festivities and atmosphere did not disappoint. Great game, friendly staff and reasonably priced stadium food. Would highly recommend a game at this place to any college football fan. Also running into Cooper Manning was a plus 😝

I always find myself having a great time at Golden Moon Silver Star in Pearl River I always enjoy the friendly staff The Establishment and the large variety of slots and card tables available they offer so much more than other casinos that I've been around that's around here and as long as they will have me I will continue coming to Pearl River and enjoy playing at the Silver Star or at the golden and the food there is always a great feature at many of their restaurants inside the casino. I actually enjoyed a nice dinner at the buffet this past time and hope to try all the different places they have to offer. Thanks and hope to see tall soon.

I have enjoyed my stay! The room was very nice! I'm from Texas, I Loved the Food at the Golden Moon! That might not be the right name of the place, we had to go to another building to get their and use the sky walks, or escalators , but the walk was well worth it ! I must say!

Good, clean, friendly environment. Music loud enough but not too loud. Waitresses came by often offering drinks, food is good, machines pay out alright. The catwalk is nice with flat escalades. I always enjoy going.

False fire alarm at midnight. Woke all the kids and no apology or explanation. AC sucked in room. Room was small and outdated. Food was great in restaurant and slots were hitting pretty good. Bonus bets have been lowered and are way too low compared to money put in. Kids had fun at the pool and cabanas were nice.

Didn't stay overnight.
But the last time I did the room was nice.
Nice atmosphere ,
Only bad part of my day was they didn't let me win.
But I had a good day anyway.

We stopped by here before heading over to the Golden moon with $200. Our goto was the playboy machines betting max. Sadly I think we should of let the truck stay on, the $200 went quick, the bonus rounds do not pay much I think we where winning more from just spinning outside the bonus rounds. Just walking around you don't see too many people winning over $100 regardless of what they are betting so that prompt us to try the golden moon out. Decent service on the drinks outside of that I wouldn't expect your money to last long here.

I am a sufferer of an obsessive compulsive disorder, so I need my bathroom clean daily, and I know that as a result of the pandemic, some places aren't doing this. But even after contacting them and stating that we needed the bathroom service, if nothing else, it took almost 8 hours to get someone there.
And then I had an incident in the bistro restaurant in which I had been standing there for 15 minutes waiting to have someone come out and take a to-go order and one of the servers ask me what I needed I answered her and instead she took another person in front of me who had just walked out of the restaurant dining area.
When I questioned her on this, her response was it is easier to check out someone than to take an order. That makes no sense to me whatsoever because it ended up taking her 10 minutes while they were trying to figure out how to work out a discount when my order took two minutes. I am an avid gambler who likes to go around the country to different casinos, but I will not be going back there ever again. That was my first trip and definitely my last. Disrespect I would never tolerate.

I love this place as far as the machines. But the rooms should be updated and give you more options. The town is small, but if they put more shops and restaurants in the casino people would come there more. They need to bring the Arcade back for the kids.

Sadly this hotel and casino are not what they used to be. While the employees were mostly very nice, they are Very understaffed, few dining choices, the pool area is a disaster and of course my room looked right at it. No open gaming tables. There were not many people there which may have some bearing on the sad changes. I probably won't be going back.

Well..... after going here 6 to 7 times a year I think it may be time to find another place to go gamble. There table games service is horrible. Dealers seem to have attitude toward players, if you hate your job then find another one. Rooms cleanliness has went down. Bar food has went down. Seeing folks hit anything at all has went down. If things don't change this Casino will be thing of the past within next 10 years. Also the hot water in the rooms has been brown the past 3 trips. Something going on with water pipes. Rust?

We love Golden Moon. Only place we stay when we visit. The only things I wish they'd fix is the lamps in the rooms. Mine had USB ports that were not usable as they'd been pushed all the way in (broken).
But as usual, the beds were so comfortable!!! The room was clean, but the sofa has bad stains that make you raise eyebrows to what they may be. At least they fixed the toilet where the hot water wasn't going into the bowl giving me a hot flash experience! Lol! (You could've make coffee with it as it was scalding hot!!) But this visit was nicer. Thank you Mr. Plumber!
The staff, we dearly LOVE! From Anthony (with bands), Sondra [with slots) to the waitresses.. Krystal, Tracy, Dora and Dot on the floor. And can't forget the awesome Darlene and Velma at the Bistro 34. Amy in Security... and Liz... as well as some of the young men... they're so nice! The parking attendees and bellhop are super sweet! Too many to name! These are the ones that keep us coming back! Of course, our Host, AJ, is THE BEST!
I met Mary at Silverstar in player services, and she was most helpful! The young lady at the Logo Shop and Bonnie's were so gracious and kind!
Let's just say, if you don't enjoy your trip and stay there, it's your own fault. If you ha e issues, tell them kindly and it will be rectified promptly!
They have hard jobs and deserve our respect. Some folks can be so mean. To them and it's unnecessary.
Kudos to PRR for making my solo trip Easter weekend so very special! I was well taken care of! Can't wait until my hubby and I can visit again together soon! FIVE out of Fiive stars!

Have stayed the night and eaten dinner there twice. Staff in the restaurant, STATS, make your stay feel difficult if you have multiple parties dining together (they hate splitting checks) Went on the casino floor once, and the staff don't seem the friendliest.
