Shopping-mall chain featuring a variety of brand-name & designer outlet stores.
Went to Classy Boutique for my oldest daughters prom dress. They did an exceptional job. She looked gorgeous.

Nice outlet mall with a variety of shops scattered within it. They have many clothing and shoe stores, jewelry stores and a few different eateries. They appear to be getting other stores ready to open in the near future. There is a playground for smaller children and many seating areas throughout a long with covered walkways. It would be nice if there were a bigger restaurant selection but perhaps that will come in the future.

Not bad no food area at least not that I seen. Nice and clean. Only draw back people smoking and vaping everywhere.

Good stores. We went on Friday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised on the low# of people. The outlets in CA are packed everyday. Stores had nice items. If I had more room in my luggage would have purchased more.

Please go to Tanger only when you have time because it's a shopping addicts heaven!
All the stores you know and like are found here for example Gucci,Fossil,Nike,Gap,carters,h&m,American Eagle, etc
All the stores are clean and well kept, there are some seating areas located outside and a Krispy creme for some fresh hot donuts,I saw one eating place although I didn't go inside they had salads and pizza and there's vending machines for soft drinks and water.I also believe there's rest rooms although I never got to use one.

🌍 Nice shopping center. Rarely go because pretty much all those trendy stores are stupidly overpriced and my son says the clothing is made by slave labor we call "sweat shops" in Asia.🧸
You can dress way better and more creatively buying thrift and making good, interesting outfits like that. Memphis is so close and has great thrift shops.🧦

It's very nice, actually, a couple of stores, specifically h&m was short on cashiers, but I guess if you're shopping you've got time to wait.

After our lunch outing we decided to take a swift walk through the outdoor outlet for exercise. If my clients ever need a shopping area that is perfect this would be my choice. As a 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 I love being able to do Market Research for my Clients.

An outlet mall near the Memphis area. I visited last Saturday in the afternoon. It was not packed. The parking was easy. They have a few good stores including MK, coach, Guess, HnM, Banana Republic, etc. I bought two blouses from Banana Republic and Express factory outlet. Everything was nice, and easy. They don’t have a lot of place to eat inside. There are many benches to sit and relax. It was fun and pretty good shopping experience. I can’t wait to go back.

This place is just the best. We love the fact it’s all outdoors - even if it’s cold! The outlets are amazing with great bargains and also fantastic places to chill including the rockin chairs round at the car park! We always have a lovely lunch here

Great experience! Atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, great stores with friendly employees and fantastic sales. Outdoor areas were very clean with plenty of seating to enjoy. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. Hope to visit again soon!

My experience was great when I visited every store, which included Skechers, Micheal Kors, Victoria Secret, and Guess!! Now, the only bad experience was Krispy Kreme Doughnuts!! The two young African-Americans Females that were working today around 2:30p were horrible customer service. They had no enthusiasm, the place was un-kept(nasty), and they acted as if they didn't want to be there. Honestly, their hair-weaves & fake long eyelashes were more exciting than their personalities alone. My family & I will not visit that place as long as their standing behind the counter.

Great shopping space. Need more accessible bathrooms for kids and elderly.

This is nearest outlet mall near Memphis. We love to come here for shopping. They have nice collection. The waiting areas are very great and kids enjoy the small playground.

Great place to see a concert.
Wife and I have seen several concerts here and have really enjoyed them all.
On May 7 it was Whiskey Myers, they are awesome live BTW.

It was awesome! We went to go see Fantasia and Joe June 18th on Fathers Day! My 1st concert and it's was WONDERFUL AND INCREDIBLE!! 🙌🙌🙌

First time seeing an event here. It was nice. Parking was sufficient. Even had police directing traffic afterwards for a smoother exit. They also had multiple concession stands situated around the venue for ease of access. Security formed two lines at the entrance to accommodate everyone going through quickly.
Kathryn Geldenhuis — Google review
Came for the rodeo this weekend. Only 4 stars because price was not the same online for the door price as it was at the door. That and there was only one smoking section. Should be one on each side of the arena. Very inconvenient. Basic things to know. Small clear bags only!!! No weapons, not even a pocket knife. My son had to take his pocket knife back to the truck lol. Masks were optional, which was nice. Not a bad seat in the house even up top! Concessions are priced about the same as most big arenas. So no surprise there. They do serve hard liquor!! Line was long but the drinks were poured good and they were quick at getting orders out. All in all it was a great time! Wish they did more rodeos here though!!!!
Rebecca Hughes — Google review
Great venue but could use a ramp to get to the arena floor. Friendly staff, easy parking to. I'll definitely be back if another great Concert is there.
mike Harris — Google review
Fr8endly staff, fun atmosphere, though the concessions are definitely lacking in variety. Not a bad spot and there was a lot of space when I went for a rodeo. Recommend it.
Patrick J. — Google review
Not bad... just remember you have to pay cash for parking. Can not bring any bags in. And anything that is cooked at the concession stand leaves a lot to be desired.
Kevin Fairburn — Google review
I had GA pit tickets at Luke Bryan. The entry process was complicated. I went to the area that the staff told me to go, and my ticket wouldn't scan to get in the pit. Everybody had problems. Turns out they were seating me and everyone else on the wrong/opposite side. They told me and several others to just go on in on the wrong side. When my fiancé tried to come join me, his ticket wouldn't scan. I had to leave the best spot in the house to go to the opposite side to scan his ticket and then they let him in on the wrong side too. It was just not organized. Thankfully 2 sweet girls let me have that premium spot in GA back. I had gotten there before anyone to get that spot to stand. 🙏🏻 While we were stuck in the pit for 4 hours, there was no way to get any concessions or get out to go to the restroom. You'd think paying high dollars for pit tickets, that they would have some mobile concessions or an exit to get out and back in that area.
The concert, sound, and lighting was great. The venue itself was nice. The problems were with the logistics inside Landers Center. Maybe they could figure out some way to better serve their customers. It was very uncomfortable after 4 hours of standing in the same spot with no way to get a soda or anything. Mobile concessions and an extra exit from the front of the pit areas to go to the bathroom would've helped . 🤷♀️

Rarely attend events at this facility but recently attended a graduation ceremony. The sound system was awful. You couldn't hear any of the speakers because of the echo chamber inside. I

Loved our show of Billy Strings. Nice venue, everything is conveniently close, restrooms and beverages. Not a bad seat in the house.

Probably one of my favorite venues! Friendly staff, clean all the way around, large parking area & they always got the best events going on! As a photographer i can appreciate such a great venue, Was just there Saturday taking pictures for an MMA event and once again proving why it's the best place around!

I went to a weekend event . It's a long walk from the parking lot to the entrance, but there is a nice drop-off for passengers close to the entrance. The exhibition hall had good lighting. Bathrooms and a water bottle fountain were 200 ft. away .No concessions stand . There were a couple of fast food restaurants 1/4 mile away . All in all, it was a nice facility.

I had a great time at the Super R & B concert! The venue was nice but I feel the speaker system could be improved, the clarity was not the best. Also the limited exits make it very difficult to exit the venue. Overall great venue for concerts.
jalyn conner — Google review
Great concert Great seats and fun place to view your favorite artists. I was row 1 seat 29 center stage. For me it was too close and I could feel the vibration in my chest. Now most people would love it. But it was a bit much for me. I love that I could see without straining my eyes or having to use binoculars. The sound system was great for the entire show. Would definitely go again but would by seats farther back from the stage
Asheed Abark — Google review
Went to Disney on Ice at the Landers Center and the kids really enjoyed it! Was pretty easy to find and get into out seats. The staff was friendly and willing to offer assistance. The lines for the various booths were a bit un organized but nothing out of the norm for these types of events. Overall, very happy with the experience.
The Horseshoe Tunica hotel is situated in a vibrant casino resort that features five restaurants, an outdoor pool, and a gym. The hotel rooms are casual and comfortable for guests to relax in. Visitors can enjoy their day exploring the city of Memphis by visiting St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ducks Unlimited Waterfowling Heritage Center, National Civil Rights Museum - Lorraine Motel or trying their luck at the Horseshoe Casino.
Really had no complaints when I went. The steak restaurant was excellent along with the service. They made my friend feel very special for her birthday. The restaurants are pricey as I had expected but you can get little appetizers and small plates. Horseshoe is the biggest casino in Tunica if that’s what you want. Lots of people winning. Great love music on Friday night. Drinks good. Every worker we had encounters with was very pleasant & welcoming. I would go back!

Nice, friendly staff. Table dealers are great at helping you learn new games if your go-to game table is full. Beautiful decor making you feel like you're in a nice atmosphere. I've been to this location a few times & win or lose, I always leave happy from a good time! My only negative is the buffet was changed to a different restaurant & it was absolutely horrible service & the food was not even sub par. I don't mind paying good money for good food but it's a little upsetting to pay good money for bad food plus horrible service. We didn't let it ruin our trip, though. We just ate somewhere else the next meal
Bethany Renea — Google review
My stay was good, because I enjoyed the room, and would have enjoyed the casino, but it was too much cigarette smoke 🚬 for me as a nonsmoker. I had a complimentary flight and hotel over, which was nice until the process of returning home. The hotel escort an airplane fully loaded with people of different age groups to the airport much too early which was very unprofessional and we had no seating area at the airport to sit during this wait. There weren't any airport attendants to check us in, until an hour later. Now of course, at this, we all were feeling like we were treated with no respect, mainly after we have spent our money with Horseshoe Casino.

Appropriately rated as a 2 star hotel. Can tell it was nice at one point in the past. Main issue was cleanliness. Hallway very dirty. Dirt in the bathroom corners. Room wasn’t ready at 4:30 despite booking it several days in advance. Beds were comfortable. Would have had a free room but no available pet-friendly free rooms available.

Me and my husband visited for one night for a "parent's night out". Everyone was super nice upon arrival! We weren't in our room long before realizing our TV didn't work, but we let them know and they moved us to a new room right away! The cleanliness could have been better, but overall nothing huge to gripe about. I had read a lot of reviews beforehand about the slots being tight, etc but that wasn't the case for us. Played a little black jack and our first dealer Donald was AMAZING! He was very patient with me as I was learning and it truly gave you an EXPERIENCE as soon as you sat down. Then, he was replaced with Ray who was EXTREMELY rude as soon as he sat down. We started with a full table with strangers we were having so much fun with, but Ray quickly changed the entire atmosphere and it wasn't long before we all got up. That man has no business working in the hospitality industry. Overall, it was a good experience and we definitely will return!

We didn’t stay here but went to the casino to gamble with my son who just turned 21. 1st time loyalty card users get $10 in rewards play so that was nice. I personally had some good luck at the slots so I have a great opinion of the place hahaha! Good range of machines, table play and high limit areas. My husband played blackjack for a little while and liked it too. Starbucks in there was a nice touch!

Made some great memories here. It's just an awesome place we arrived and left the next day and not empty handed. But that restaurant the one they have that famous cook their do not go I ate and got sick really bad really bad. I had to go get medicine like really bad. But all the rest is just perfect a perfect casino to have fun and make extra money. Good luck make this casino your next stop!!!

Went to the counter to check in and got no "welcome to.horseshoe, what can I do for you"? But instead all she said was "photo I'd please?"
And with zero personality, proceeded to check us in. The room was like a mile walk from the elevators which was insane. The halls are dark and dingy. They refused to let me take my own bags and insisted on having a bell hop person do it so I had to wait around for him to come take my bags that I was capable of carrying and it was clear that this was all a ruse to get tips.
My room was so dark I could hardly see and that's after turning on all the lights. We had nothing but rooftops to look at out the window... it may have well been not there... useless window when the only thing you see is dirty roofs with ladders and equipment mess everywhere. Being here during the week... there was no where to get food and the snack store downstairs is WAAAY over priced. Way to take advantage of your guests.
The room clearly hadn't been dusted in a long time.... it was gross. The bed had hairs on it.
The water in the bathroom came out of the sink in a literal trickle.... so crazy. We were supposed to be here 2 nights for my birthday but I only stayed 1 and decided to go somewhere else. I came to gamble and have fun but decided not to give a dime to the casino. The place was gross and the staff was lacking and give a damn. I can't give my money to a place like that.
Pink Poodle Crafts — Google review
The room was actually pretty decent and was inexpensive. The casino and hotel reminded me of the Rio in Vegas when Caesars gave up on it. The place was dirty and a lot of things were broken. The floors were dirty, carpet held together by duct tape, urinals covered with a garbage bag, elevator card reader and lights not working, and plenty more issues. It just didn't have a good feel to it, which is a shame. The place could be attractive with just a little effort. We didn't even spend the night. We drove our four hours back home instead. We will likely never return.

Visited this past September. Nice place. Fitness center was in a state of disarray. Broken ceiling fans. Lights not working. Pieces of ceiling tile on the floor. There was a floor fan but the motor seized after turning it on. Maybe in the middle of a renovation? Seemed like it had some potential. I'll be back again. Hopefully the gym is in better shape then.

The rooms are absolutely gorgeous. However, the hotel rooms did not have a microwave. I was like you mean to tell me that the room has a fridge, 3 TVs, c- shape sofa, nice chair, and more, But no microwave. It's almost like you are being forced to eat the Not So Tasty food. I ended up eating my cold shrimp pasta I brought with me prior to checking in. The customer service was super awesome.

Loved this casino. Everyone were very nice to us. They have truck parking near entrance very convenient and great because there’s an ice storm so we did not walk too far. Poker room is not big but it’s cozy. Dealers were all very nice especially John he was my favorite he gave us awesome hands. Free drinks but tips are welcome. I also played slots won double. Played roulette and lost lol can win everything. Had a burger at the sports grill which was fire. Fries were good too, service was also good. In all great experience. Today we might stay the night and play again. I am going to say the service here is way better than the Golden casino. No harassment here. Winnings in pics are my husbands.

We loved the pictures of the hotel on their site, however when we arrived, it wasn’t like the pictures. The pool was empty and closed. There was no coffee pot in the room. There was a sign in the room saying that if we took anything we would be charged and the prices of each hotel item was listed. It’s been at least 20 years since we stayed at a hotel with no coffee in the room and we don’t steal from the hotels we stay in, and we travel a lot.

Definitely in need of remodeling. Smells old and moldy. Stayed room w/king size bed. Had old wing back chair that was stained and extremely uncomfortable to sit in.
Bathroom had built up dust on hairdryer, base boards & exhaust fan. Only plus in room was having a lockable safe, small refrigerator, iron & ironing board. There are fees for extra towels, toilet paper, etc. Housekeeping only if you call.
Casino was so smoky that I wore a mask. Slot machines extremely tight, no money won. Had a waitress drop a half empty glass with a mix drink in it that hit the floor right beside me as I set at slot machine that splashed my new white shirt that stained front, back & left sleeve. All she brought me was a wet wad of paper towels to clean with. Definitely will NEVER go back to Tunica.
Cathy Stevens — Google review
The rooms need renovating and cleaning. Shower curtain was hanging loosely by one.screw. Wall covering redone in patches and was loose and curling up. Carpet frayed with 3 and 4 in strings. Carpet needs vacuuming throughout hotel. Never saw a vacuum. The toilet and sink did not appear to have been cleaned in some time. And we had to pay for this. Bartenders were zombies. No personality or friendliness....and never at the bar. Room 2145....check it out.

This casino is an absolute gem! From the lively atmosphere to the friendly staff, every visit feels like a winning one!
The gaming options are diverse, catering to all preferences, and the excitement is contagious. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, creating a warm and inviting vibe.
Don’t forget to grab a players card and visit 8oz Burger in the back of the casino.

Beware putting your card on file for incidentals. After attending a work conference and being told they would hold my card for $40 incidental (regular $199), for 3 days they charged and deducted from my card several times. By the time I checked out of the hotel $400 had come out of my account for “ incidentals”. With no real answers, shoulder shrugs and you’ll have your money back in 3-5 business days. Needless to say I won’t return to the hotel. The room was very nice, staff food service throughout the conference was amazing!

Just the closest Vegas like casino to Memphis. Clean with good interactions with the employees. The line for players card is long but moved fast and the self service machines were out of order. Everything works, hotel rooms are spotless casino is clean. Nice bars. Great fun!

I come here to play poker. This casino has an amazing poker room with great service and dealers. Free drinks while playing and plenty of tables. One of my favorite places to play. I have stayed here and the room are nice. Great view of the river and the land around the casino which is pretty much just land. Where this casino is located there is not much else around besides a few fast food places and gas stations.

The service was impeccable! I really wish the other casinos would allow you to order your drinks at the machine you're playing on. That was definitely a bonus, and the servers were awesome! The bathrooms were so clean.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. We were told that the pool was open and upon arrival we discovered that it was closed. We were told that it had been closed since Sunday for repairs but since reading over some of the reviews it seems like it has been closed for much longer. We were told that Tunica was the closest thing to Las Vegas. Definitely not. The area had 2 hotels/casinos there and besides that there was almost nothing around at all. Just small gas stations. Food was ridiculously expensive for just being mediocre. We had to get 5 new sets of keys to our room because the keys kept deactivating. Something they don’t tell you when they hand you the keys is that they will deactivate if you hold them near your phone. The whole place reeks of cigarettes and weed. You will be charged for everything if you stay here. I know that I will never be staying here again. The location is horrible. Nothing in our room was properly cleaned and there was mold growing on the walls of the bathroom. All of the staff seemed completely miserable and were very rude. The walls are very thin as well and you can basically hear everything going on in the hallways.

We went to eat at Guy Fieri’s new restaurant and it was amazing! I got the BBQ brown sugar wings and my boyfriend had the chicken sandwich with mac&cheese on top (can’t remember the name) and they were absolutely delicious. The food prices aren’t awful but the drink prices are pretty steep. Overall it was an amazing experience and we will definitely be back soon!

Overall I liked the experience. Some of the cocktail waitresses were rude but some were nice. The dealers seemed to have good attitudes. I liked that they served drinks in a timely fashion and they were in glasses. During the day on Saturday the drinks were good but later on they were all too sour in the evening. We ate at Guy Fieri’s and the place was so nice! Our bartender was the nicest person we met in Tunica. Most of the employees either hate their lives, their jobs or people in general. The food at Guys was flavorless and not even hot-warm at best and fries were not fresh, which shocked me. He needs to get on Google maps so we can review the restaurant and he can make some changes. Not sure what you can do when 90% of the people that live and work in that town are so uncaring and rude. But I liked this casino better than Gold strike and will be back for the experience, regardless of the bad apples

Casino is good except for all the smoking. Should have non smoking rooms or areas to play. The hotel is outdated, the furniture is old and worn, the toilet handle was broke and toilet ran unless you did the jiggle. Overall not impressed. Staffing issues are apparent as well.

Current building only a shadow of what the casino hotel was like a decade ago. Had to pay for upgrade but room did not appear significantly better than original room with maybe the space for couch. Phone did not work so could not call for additional towels (or help). Room for four only came with two towels. Expect walls with scuffs, panels in disrepair, and unpolished features that come from years of lack of care or updates. Beds were comfortable. Casino was quiet with limited dining options. No more buffet. Burger bar did not accept dining credit. Price of meal appeared to be $20 per person in other venues on site, except steak house. Slots seemed dated and quiet. Table games were ok. Nothing like Caesar’s properties in Vegas.

This exceeded my expectations! The rooms were nicer than I expected. The lobby, casino, and public areas were nicely done and very clean. All the employees I met were friendly and helpful. The restaurants all looked updated and new. The food at the steak house was the star of the trip!

Reading reviews on the way I was getting worried. Haven't been here in about a year, but always stop when traveling through. Don't know where some of you are staying. Hotel is not bad. I've stayed in nicer hotels, and I've stayed in way worse hotels right here in Tunica. Every person who works here that I came into contact with was pleasant, smiled, and asked how I was doing. Very friendly. tipped one dealer just because she made it so fun. Room was clean. Was not dark like some said and had plenty of outlets. I won a little, lost a little, ended up down but had a great time. Will definately be back. Thanks Horseshoe staff!

Rooms are dated. The cabinet felt like it was a shock hazard with hanging wires. On a positive note the bed was comfortable and the AC room temperature was cold which I like. The room smelled strongly of weed even though it was supposed to be non-smoking.
The casino was actually really good. Luckily didn't cost much money because of comp credits.

Great place! Had a lot of fun. The people there are decent, but if you're in a wheelchair and you need a handicap room, they only have one bed. They could easily put two twin beds in there, but they choose not to because they look at it's differently. I'm not going to give anything less than five stars because the people there in the service was great. I just find it incredibly offensive that you can't put some twin beds and a handicap room it's 2024 time to wake up also in the casinos the carpet is very thick so if you're in a manual chair it's really hard to get around

The room was a disaster! The restroom was dirty tub and toilet. There were so many hairs and ashes on the furniture and the blanket and two of the pillows had black spots. Oddly the young lady that checked me in, strangely asked if I was sure I wanted the room I had, but I should have looked in it after I checked in, but unfortunate for me I went to have dinner. This was a total waste, and I hate I spent my money on this stay😡

Relaxed suites in a casino hotel, with slots & table games, plus a diner & bar with free concerts.
Everybody there was so nice, from the front desk, the cleaning staff, wait staff and all the people in the Casino. The room was wonderful. Clean, Comfy, luxurious. My husband has a bad back and is very picky when it comes to beds. He said this was one of the most comfortable he has slept in. We can't wait to go back.

Only 3 stars because all the have left are a few rooms and small gift shop. The staff was wonderful and so welcoming. Hotel was clean. Definitely enjoyed staying there. My room was more than I expected. It could use updating but since it was bought out by Cesar's I guess we will see. Half hotel is shut down no casino or food. But the rest was great. I would stay again if open when I return. Food and casino is quick walk across parking lot along with plenty of food options.

Stayed on 2/13. Check in staff was quite rude and not helpful. The Valet was friendly and very helpful. The Casino is closed and all the amenities are next door at the Horseshoe. The room was very nice, comfortable bed and very clean. The hallway smelled like it had just been cleaned and was perfumed enough to be offensive. They still charge the resort fee but we were not informed about it at check-in even though they have no amenities except next door. Overall, Tunica is a hole and the roadhouse was greatly disappointing. I should have stayed at the Horseshoe or skipped Tunica all together. I saw absolutely no reason to go back.

Loved, loved, loved, loved, loved this place. The decor was awesome and when they say free drinks they mean it! There is a button to push on the gambling machines that will bring up a menu of drinks for you to choose from and just a couple minutes later someone will appear with a drink in hand delivered right to you! It was awesome! Had a blast here. Was staying at a different casino but ended up walking to this one every night.

We've stayed with this group the last 4 years and they never disappoint. The staff is extremely pleasant. The hotel is older but not run down. Everyone is eager to please and made us feel important.
High five to Larry the Valet, he always greets us like he has known us forever and so eager to please.

Polished rooms, plus a casino, a spa, a pool, 4 restaurants & a stage with live entertainment.
Remember to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ when booking a resort. This web site will compare hundreds of hotel sites and normally will have rooms a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This resort is one of the best in this area. I've been coming here for a long time. If you stay for a few nights you definitely will love it I'm sure!
Very helpful and kind staff! I went during the early week, rarely are there too many smoke smells. Everyone are nice and attentive. Buffet is great! My favorite machine did move but we were able to find it. :)

Nice casino. It was packed. Standing room only. I received a player's card and got $25 dollars at the kiosk. Paid $40 for the buffet. It looked good but most things were cold. Who wants to pay $40 for a meal and it is cold. Hospitality was OK. I did not understand most of the machines.and love st that $25 in a flash, playing a 1 cent machine. Not a pleasant experience.

Let's start off with service a place like this should have great service but they fell at that The new owners are definitely not training everybody how they're supposed to treat their customers as well as the rewards program The new owners have a reward system That's pretty bad to say the least. Also I gamble in many places this place has bad vibes
The first time I went and decided to go a second time I should have just stopped at the first time. Would I recommend this place absolutely not till they change their vibes at least better customer service. I would definitely return if they improve customer service. Definitely had a bad experience both times!

We live in Texas. My newlywed husband brought me to Gold Strike for my birthday. I had not been there in about 10 years. It was wonderful!! I would love to know what kind of mattress was on our bed. He has back issues and has much difficulty getting comfortable. We were both very comfortable. I would very much appreciate it if a manager would let me know what kind of mattress that was (23rd floor). My only disappointment was that the breakfast buffet is not available during the weekdays. I have very fond memories of cheese-stuffed crepes with strawberry sauce.

Fun place,great food and entertainment!
Chicago Steakhouse is number #1 on my list for steak and impeccable service. It may be a little higher priced, but if you want perfectly cooked food and to be treated like royalty splurge a little and tell Chef Jeremy I sent you! Oh and the buffet is hard to beat if you have a giant appetite!!

This is our half way stopping point for our trips to see family. Casino is clean and a good place to visit. Great games and free play for members. Food. games, rooms, all good. The bad - location is rather secluded and not what it was years ago. Closed and abandoned casinos scattered in the area. Local businesses seem to never have recovered. Still the experience is overall good at the Gold Strike Casino.

Yeah.....just not it. The room was fine, just. But as a player passing through, the tables just don't care that you're there. No restaurant on the premises, had to go across the street. Glad I did, because the horseshoe had much better games and instantly took good care of me. Won't be back.

The beds were very comfy, the room could have been a bit cleaner in the bathroom, and the wall had a hole in it where someone must have pushed the door open too hard. The folks at the front desk were very nice, and the casino was fun. Food was decent in the sports bar, but they really need to provide fresh coffee at the buffet and not Folgers in a big tank that was luke warm at best.

Had an enjoyable quick overnight stay-room was nice and quiet and well appointed. We had dinner at the Chicago Steakhouse which was perfect 👍🏼 All staff were super friendly and professional. We even took sone time to try our luck ( not so lucky :-( ) in the casino. We grabbed a quick breakfast at Sweet Tea on our way out- no complaints!!

As much as I go to the casino this was the first time I reserved a room. I don't live that far, but I knew I didn't want to drive back home since the roads were kind of bad. This exceeded my expectations I was pleasantly surprised. With this being a casino I thought the rooms would be mediocre, but it wasn't. Money well spent it was very clean bathroom and all. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and everything was nice and neat in my room. I see myself staying again in the near future.

I only went to the casino part on this visit. I got carded immediately lol, so if you don't look your age..get ready for that! It's a pretty building with golden lights. Calm atmosphere...more of an older crowd. They're just there to enjoy themselves and I can get with that. And it doesn't just smell like straight up smoke 😭 Nice!

We stayed next door at the Horseshoe and gambled at both. The Gold Strike was a fantastic resort. Right when you walked in it smelled great. Super clean and really large. Lots of games! The one issue was it was hard to get a drink on Friday and Saturday nights. Not the servers fault at all but still annoying. Will be back for sure!

I visited here over the weekend and it was great!. They had a band playing and a really great atmosphere. The slots were hitting and the card tables were decent as well. A very nice get away.
Ci B — Google review
Great atmosphere, there was a band both nights, w/ a DJ in between sets keeping the crowd jumping. Been awhile since I've put down hard liquor that fast... Yep, over estimated my ability. Not a problem. Had two stunning and kind cocktail servers take care of me. One All night long, damn near proposed. Not yet, still a great place to unwind.

Called and paid for 2 nights for a room over phone. Once I received my reservation via Email. I realized it was only one night.I called back and she assured me it was for 2 nights. She told me that she would be working when I arrived and she would correct it. I drove the 5 hour trip and once I arrived the host said it couldn't be changed. There was no attempt to follow thru with what the employee had promised me over the phone. They then charged me an extra 50 dollars for the room, and said that was a room deposit and I would get my deposit back once I left. The room was nice and clean. I slept in my bed for a total of 4 hours that night, didn't use shower, didn't turn on television, and barely made a wrinkle in the bed sheets. After looking at my credit card statement I was NOT give all my room deposit back... WHY??.Why would GS employees lie to their customer .. Why would I not get my deposit back?. These are questions I called GS and tried to get answered . I got put on hold twice, and hung up on 3 times..My final thought is BEWARE.... They are not honest with what they tell you. Not the same as it has been in the past years. .

We had a great time at Gold Strike Casino. Great atmosphere, amazing staff. We did not stay at the hotel but will in the future. The only thing that would have made our trip better would have been a jackpot lol. We will be back.

My husband and I booked for one night. After we got there we were so happy it wasn't longer. The front desk staff was not welcoming. The room was clean but out vent fan in the bathroom did not work. The air conditioner did not work well. I had to fix our broken towel rack so it would hold out towel. The ice machine didn't work on our floor or on several other floors. None of the soda machines between floor 17 and 32 worked. Several of the floors had water damage and smelled. We went to dinner at Buffet Americana. Half of the buffet was shut down. The selection was not that great and the desserts tasted like they were weeks old. When we tried to go to the same buffet for breakfast the next morning we were advised that they were not opening for brunch. It was impossible to get a drink while we were gambling. We went to the Horseshoe to gamble and loved it. The staff was friendly. Easy to get a drink. We won't stay at the Gold Strike ever again. And we won't recommend it to anyone either.

Horrible beyond horrible this customer service is deplorable!!! From the moment we checked in! We hoped that maybe it would get better but NO!! Nice place but the people that work here know NOTHING about hospitality. Unfortunate but true. If you’re from out of town and looking to have an enjoyable time don’t expect it here! After a 7 hour drive looking forward to all the hype of “Tunica” we are going to now forfeit our second night just to leave this place. The other casinos around are SO MUCH better and friendlier!!! Thanks for absolutely NOTHING “Gold Strike”
Tamara Meyer — Google review
We have been going to the Gold Strike since 1998. It is starting to show it’s age. The beds are uncomfortable and the hotel rooms need updating. Many of the staff are just plain rude now! It’s obvious they don’t care if you are there or not, but they sure do expect a tip for everything they do. The restaurant choices are very slim. For a casino of this size I would expect more food options.
Sherry Hollis — Google review
Nicer of the casinos in the area. Hotel room AC not very cold and rooms need updates. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Food quality needs to be better in all restaurants. Very average at best. Nice staff that wanted to help.

The last time we were at this casino was 8 years ago. I know COVID had a substantial impact on the Casino industry in Tunica. A lot of casinos have gone. We have good memories of times past, now, it's not the same.
We requested a non-smoking room at check in. When we got to the room, there was a foul stench of cigarette smoke. It was disgusting to say the least.
No microwaves in the rooms any longer. .
Only one Gold Strike laundry bag,
The bottled water tasted terrible.
There were no channel guides for the TV.
The pool and whirlpool were closed. (That is understandable because of COVID)
The level for customer service took a downhill plunge in 8 years for certain.
We will NOT be back.

If you order from sweet Tea and you get a electronic puck. Don't leave the restaurant or you w never be notified your meal is ready. No one tells you this.
Toilet and shower backed up in one of our rooms and our rooms were charged individually instead of our corporate card.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Gold Strike Casino Resort, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the high level of cleanliness and the impeccable condition of the hotel room. It was clear that the staff takes great pride in maintaining a top-notch environment.
The friendliness of the staff was a standout feature of my stay. They were warm, welcoming, and genuinely invested in ensuring that my experience was exceptional. From check-in to check-out, their attentiveness and professionalism made me feel like a valued guest.
The hotel itself offers a fantastic atmosphere, making it a perfect choice for anyone seeking a pleasant place to stay. The amenities were abundant and well-maintained, providing everything I needed for a comfortable visit.
Whether you're a traveler looking for relaxation or someone seeking entertainment, Gold Strike Casino Resort is an excellent option. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone in search of a memorable and enjoyable stay. The staff, cleanliness, and overall experience make it stand out from the rest. I can't wait to return!
Thank you, Gold Strike Casino Resort, for an outstanding time!

Room was nicer than I expected and a decent price. I had noisy neighbors that made lots of noise at 345am. That sucked but the view frol the 27th floor was nice. Room was comfy.

I’m probably a little harsh but I wanted to share. It’s been a few years since I’ve been here and it shows. The first room I entered had no working deadbolt so I immediately went down to the front desk and requested a room change. The room was nice enough but the mattress had lots of mileage on it. Uncomfortable. The bathroom was clean but there seemed to be spots on the shower tile. Mold maybe? Not sure. Toilet and sink were in good shape. Overall the room was very clean. Needed a new coffee maker and blow dryer both were broken. Not quite Vegas.

Horrible service. None of the employees was nice. Got a room and it was filthy like someone else trash was in the trash can, floors couldn’t walk on barefoot in your own room, refrigerator filthy. Switched rooms and it wasn’t much better. I paid over $200 for a room! For my deposit I was told 3-5 business days. Sign says 24hrs… called and now they said 3-14 business day!!!! I don’t recommend this place at all!!!!! I’d leave a no star if I could because they don’t deserve even 1!

Tunica is in a sad state. Needless to say, I don't EVER have to visit Goldstrike or, for that matter, Tunica, MS again. Tunica casinos were booming years ago. It was my favorite spot - like a little Vegas. It had been several years since my last visit and boy has it gone down.
Slot machines were pretty loose. No jackpot, but I did fairly well. Best believe, whatever they give you on the slots, they recoup at the tables, the Mississippi Stud tables anyway. That's all I play, and each of the tables I sat at was brutal.
Joyce Dulaney — Google review
We only went for the buffet. The resort was nicer than some of the other casinos in that area. The food on the giant buffet was pretty damn good actually-and I'm not a buffet person.
Lacey Inman — Google review
We had the buffet. The prime rib was over cooked. The fish was dry as sand. The sweet potato casserole was bland and like all the sugar was drained out of it. The fried rice wasn't good either. Probably the worst buffet I've been to in a very long time. Do not recommend eating here. Go somewhere else.

Don’t know they tell you that your 50 dollars will be refunded when you check out it’s been nearly 2 weeks and still no refund. All I’m saying is be up front honest with people tell them it takes 2 weeks to finalize the bill and then you get your 50 dollars back. Cause I was literally told that as soon as I check out it will be refunded v back into my account. And it’s still pending and it’s been 2 weeks. When I paid for the room I don’t have the chose the money comes straight out of my account. But you get to wait before you refund me. Not to mention how rude the staff is when I called about it. I don’t figure this will be read or anything done about it. I probably won’t even get my money back. Maybe it will help someone make there decision before staying there.
I did send a email 3 days ago and nobody ever responded back. Here is another update now I’m being told it will be 30 days before I get my money back. They tell me to send an email I did and no body replies back to me. This is so ridiculous they won’t me to just forget about it and I’m not. Can someone please help me with this

Hollywood Casino & Hotel Tunica is a Hollywood-themed casino hotel offering classic rooms, 3 restaurants, a pool, and a gift shop. Guests can also stay at the RV park with convenient water and electric hookups. The well-staffed casino offers a nice selection of games where visitors can enjoy small wins. While the food at the small grill inside the casino was adequate, some guests found room heating issues and were not pleased with the cash-out system.
My husband brought me for my birthday, we had a great time.
Except when I went to take a shower the next morning, we did not have any hot water.
The staff at check out did not even seem to care. That was a pretty big deal to me, bc we also had a huge tub but who wants a cold shower or bath.

Second stay at the Hollywood in Tunica. I like that the pool was open. Rooms were clean. Would be nice if they reopened the buffet. I would rather drive to waffle house than eat from the other restaurants they offer. Soda machines need to be repaired and filled up with products. DO NOT use your card in the drink machines. It's not the Gold Strike or Horse shoe, but the price was good.

Really convey how personal the staff made our stay. 3 card poker was really fun and the dealers are very friendly with 25 years of experience. Paid only 25.99 dollars for 2 nights.
The restaurants are staffed with infinity trained Chefs.
Fitzgerald upstairs is my favorite. We ate there twice and Happy Birthday was sang by everyone for my wife. Simply said, the staff, waiters, chefs, and host have my long term relationship for many returns. The fare on the menu is awesome. Oysters , oh me. Steaks came ordered to perfection.
The casino host are speedy and friendly. They value your business and will always 💯 percent insure that you are completely satisfied. TY Lisa.

The rooms are always great! They actually have enough pillows on the bed. I love the pool and hot tub! Usually, the service is good. Tonight, couldn't get a drink at the bar or the floor. Got charged for the drink when I finally caught the bartender at the bar. Then she was rude. I get she's the only one there...for real don't have to be rude and only talk to the 2 girls at the end of the bar orthe cleaning guy that was just leaning on the bar. I really do like this casino, just not Tonight. The front desk girl was awesome and friendly. The lady working the Celebrity Grill was great...food was good and quick. Just the bartender sucked.

We stayed at the RV park here while traveling through the area. It was a simple parking area with water and electric hookups, but was in the parking area next to the casino so it was very convenient for us. We played at the casino our first night and were lucky enough to hit a couple of small wins and a little bit larger win as well. There is a nice selection of games and the casino is well staffed. We ate at the small grill located inside the casino and the food was adequate, but nothing to write home about. The RV park offers bathrooms and showers and is well lit. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

Casino was great ~ Hotel .. toilet flapper wouldn't go down without removing the back, a plug prong was broken off inside the electrical outlet exposing the hot leg. You must pay a $50 deposit in addition to the cost, then they keep an extra $12.99 resort fee. The room was clean though.
Tammy Reed — Google review
The hotel was nice, the rooms was spacious. I was, hoping to get a buffet but it apparently hasn't reopened since Covid. The little grill was okay, the line seemed to never end. It took a long time to get our food.
One other complaint is that there isn't enough provisioning for handicapped people who can't walk very far. Some electric scooters would be very nice to get around in.
mgaudet111 — Google review
The only reason I'm giving this a four-star instead of a five is because my heat in my room didn't work when the outside temperature dropped down to about 30° and I don't like that the casino does not give you actual change back if they can replenish the bills section of the cash out machine then they should be able to give you the change back instead they want you to take the less than dollar Cash out tickets and put them in a donate tub for their local charities in which they again have done nothing for.
The service and the people are amazing I was definitely more welcome there than when I stayed at the Gold strike about 5 years ago the people there are definitely super nice to me smoke was probably a third of what it was at Gold strike several years ago and I thoroughly like that considering that I'm a non-smoker I was extremely grateful that they also put me on a or what a peer to be a non-smoking floor and the rooms are well-walled and well insulated in which you don't hear a lot of what's going on outside or in the other rooms.
I might actually come back in the winter or my off months just to hang out and chill they don't have a spa but that's okay I can live with that but they do have an awesome pool which is very kid friendly I think and the collectibles they have for the Hollywood stuff is also very very just nostalgic to sit and look at and take in.

My last room booked by my Host Sam was awesome and the best one yet. It was a 2 room King Suite with a separate living room, TV and wet bar and toilet, bedroom with a King sized bed, large tv,, bathroom with a jacuzzi, separate shower and another toilet in its own closet. Very nice. I'd love to have that one again.

Very competitive hotel rate which was what first caught my attention. Why stay at the goldstrike for 100+ a night when Hollywood has rooms for 52 a night. Kids enjoyed the exhibitions and pool, which is indoors and stays open even if it is cold outside. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Shower was nice and hot. They had only one blackjack table open so I had to wait every night 20-30 minutes until someone busted and a seat became available. They also closed the table at 1am. According to the dealer, they are having a hard time finding dealers that are willing to work after COVID and that's why they don't have more tables running and shut down early at 1am. It is what it is but overall a really good experience. I'll definitely visit again.

Recently stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of this week. My room was not cleaned well and the rooms really need to be updated. You’ll noticed in the pictures stains on the furniture, a small dried blood spot in the sheets, and an uncleaned fridge. If you’re a local and want a quick getaway, are redeeming free nights, or just need somewhere to lay your head after a night of playing it will do, however I would not recommend these rooms.

Park with RV & tent camping, furnished cabins & an 18-hole golf course, plus lake fishing & boating.
Wonderful and relaxing place. Clean swimming beaches. Perfect boating water. Lots of places to picnic and the campgrounds are a good size. There is a restaurant called rafters on the water. The lake is huge. There’s a few trails. 10/10 would recommend.

Nice state park campground. Full hookups in the site we had. We were there for a Stephen F. Austin State University softball series hosted by Ole Miss. Some others were in town for a wedding. Everyone else it seems was there for the fishing which must be great, based on the level of activity. This place must be covered up in warmer weather!

It is a beautiful park, we went for Memorial day weekend and it was full but everyone was quiet after 10pm. The large beach had a lot of people but didn't feel crowded. The restrooms and showers leave a bit to be desired but they are functional. We will definitely stay again.

The cabins are old and rundown. We tried to make the best out of until we saw rats in the kitchen. When we explained that we did not want to stay another night the park ranger had a very bad attitude stating, “ he doesn’t have time for this”. The park is very underfunded and it shows.
Shelby Silvan — Google review
This campground could be really beautiful, BUT it’s not being properly cared for... It appears as though it may have been hit by a tornado at some point. 1/2 the park is down for cleanup, & the other half is open, but there are still many downed trees that haven’t been removed. (Edit: A clean-up crew began removing some of the downed trees during our stay.) Trash & ants are a BIG problem! Our campsite, & the entire grounds were covered in litter (bandaids, gloves, wrappers, floss, cigarettes, beer cans, bottles, etc...) Trash is overflowing out of the dumpsters, & animals have rummage through it. Clearly, no one takes pride in what could be a beautiful park. Minimal grounds maintenance. Broken swings at playground. Water spigots are at least 75 ft away from some of actual campsites. Our site was definitely NOT a lake campsite as advertised. The one park ranger all but refused to help us with anything. He told me to call to check-in, but no one ever answered the phone. No assistance whatsoever. Very little monitoring by the park ranger as well. They don’t seem to care or take any pride in their state park, & it’s a shame! It’s on Lake Sardis with many beautiful mature trees, so it could be awesome! Upside: sites are level slabs, many “full-hookup,” supply picnic tables & grills, playground, & small beach access. I’d check out Oak Grove Campground next door... They are taking much better care of their park, & it’s on Sardis Lake as well, with a lot more lake front property.

People come from far and wide to unwind and enjoy their visit, let's set a better example. Suggestion maybe the sheriff department will let those on good behavior give you all a hand if you are short staffed.

Driving up to the school and being on this campus is almost unreal. The beauty of the buildings paired with the natural beauty of the trees and flowers and landscape grasses is so amazing. Do you want to live here all the time. The first time I came here was to drop my son off at school, and I was flabbergasted by the abundance of trees and beauty and amazing architecture, this is definitely one of the most beautiful campuses I’ve ever seen. Ole Miss is absolutely amazing! I love it for undergrad I am enjoying it for grad school and the advisors are one of a kind because they are actually invested in helping the students! I will say that as a commuter paying out of state tuition is not that great, if I can drive there daily I should be able to pay in state tuition. Also, it takes a while to get your financial aid, the office is always working and have people on task but if you can’t get into the office for some reason email, phone calls, and zooms as your secondary option takes much longer. As a parent, teacher, and full time student I rely heavily on my financial aid and each time it is just a hassle, I wish the process was smoother.

Museum-run, landmarked home of William Faulkner is open to the public & offers by-appointment tours.
The William Faulkner Rowan Oak is a must-see place if you are ever in the Oxford, MS area. Even if you have never read a Faulkner book, you will appreciate learning how he lived. This place just "feels like him."
The tours are only $5 per person. The self guided tour is well worth the time and effort. Plan on spending at least an hour here looking around.
On a down note, I'm disappointed that the University of Mississippi that owns the house and grounds has not put more money into the upkeep and restroration. Several wooden fences are down, and several of the outhouses need work to keep them from falling in.

Did a quick walk through of this place while in Oxford. I'm more in it for a historical perspective with the structures and history. It was nice and educational. I learned a lot about the author Faulkner that lived there in the end while that was not why we went. Even if you're not interested in his works alone his estate itself made it a great stop to see while in town. The estate is pretty much all authentic it appears from the 1950's (maybe a bit later) to when it was mostly built in the 1840's. You can't even drive up to it and you have to park on a small gravel trail pretty much. So it makes it even more interesting. I definitely recommend it and Oxford as a whole if in the area!

Two ways to be there. You can drive to the Old Tayler Road, there is a turn and it is the close entrance. Or you have to go through a great but muddy trail, starting from the museum parking lot. The building is for sure extremely beautiful and meaningful. Cannot go into the building because of the university holiday but walking around is enough.

IT WAS really cool to see this historical place. But why not open the inside to the public? Charge a small fee get a couple of tour guides. BAM someone making money. I really want to see the inside.
In Key West, they opened the Hemingway House (Ernest). It's in great shape and it sees several hundred people a day. Maybe even a thousand. People love this place. I'm just saying RowenOak is a history buffs dream. Why not open it up? GOOD MANAGEMENT is all you need.

It was a surprise finding this place but I'm glad I did. It was very nice coming through the trail from the museum to it. Made me appreciate it more

I really enjoyed this place. I went mid-January, so the trees had no leaves, but the grounds were still beautiful. I can't imagine living here in the height of Spring and early Summer, but it must look amazing.
I don't know much about Falkner, and not sure I've ever read his works. But as a former English Major, I try to go see author's homes.
I loved how he used to write on the walls and they showed examples of this. This was a nice home. Even if you aren't into literature, but if you are into old homes, I think you'd still like it.
This was definitely a highlight of Oxford. The only bad part was it was kind of hard to find the road to get down to the house. There was no paved parking, which I'm sure they just don't have the funds to have.

Oftentimes, we must take the time to wander roads less traveled, today was one of those times. I thoroughly enjoyed the self-guided tour (jus me😊) through the house and grounds. I could've stayed for hours and even though it is right off the main thoroughfare, it is an incredibly peaceful place. $5 admission... another one crossed off my bucket list.
Reservoir lake known for camping & fishing, including tournaments, plus waterfront parks & trails.
Grenada lake has some of the best views I've seen in years, definitely 100/10

I really love this lake. Let me go deep. I have travelled the globe. Driven across the Usa multiple times In a commercial truck, Swam and fished in hundreds of lakes. Lived next to the ocean.. Let me say this: , I love this lake.
The park is very nice,It has some amazing, well cared for beaches. There's a great lack of rude people. I walked up to a park ranger and the army Corp of engineers and chatted with em for a bit. (I was a first responder I'm used to it). Got great insights on where to teach my son to kayak, and to fish. The lake is large, and space plentiful. With no overcrowding even on a holiday weekend. Y'alls southern hospitality shows. With the fellow beach goers all being friendly and respectful.

Best lake in Mississippi out of the visited lakes in Mississippi. Bigger than Sardis lake and types of entertainment are also wider. Fishing and camping has enough resources and well maintained. Nice view even in winter days. Has a big boat ramp and picnic area.

Cooking class = best gift. We did the French Quarter cooking class. It was fun, informative, well organized, and efficient. The food was unbelievable. My boyfriend and I ended up on a "team" with an awesome other couple, but the rest of the class was groups of 4 friends. So fun meeting them. We will absolutely make the recipies they gave us again at home. Absolutely will be back.
Shelly Joyner — Google review
This would have been more enjoyable if there would have been more prep stations. We had 5 people per team in a straight line around the counter with 2 people being able to make the recipe and the rest of the team members just standing doing nothing at the other end of the counter. Needed at least one more set up on each side of the table. People were not able to stay engaged.

A lot of fun, and great meal! We met a great couple that we teamed up with. Great instruction. I learned how to cook a filet mignon with perfection using a cast iron skillet. They do most of the measuring for you, so you get to a bit of shopping, and get to cooking. Drink wine, make fantastic food, and make new friends! We stayed at The Lofts on the Square in Grenada after the class.

What an amazing evening we had! Our chef was very knowledgeable, patient and entertaining. I learned so many useful tidbits and now am certain I can cook a perfect filet mignon! Also learned to make 3 sauces, but the meat honestly didn't even need it (plus nobody in our group liked the horseradish sauce - lol). Well worth the price for good times, great food and new friends!

Myself & eleven other ladies attended the cooking class based on the movie 'The Help'. It was Absolutely Amazing! Our chef, Morgan & her assistant Lou (Mary) were the best! I highly highly recommend this wonderful experience!!

So much fun for you, your family, and friends! I would highly suggest bringing a group of friends (even a small group of 4) because you will be placed in a group if you don't bring your own! The chef's are very knowledgable of their dishes and Viking cookware and equipment. They provide everything you need, educate you on the best ways to prepare foods, and serve drinks of your choice to "lighten the mood." It's really a great time for all. I wish there was another hotel close by that did not cost so much to stay at. The Alluvian has been filled up each time we've been OR the only rooms they had were a $250 single room (and our guests wouldn't be able to stay near us). Overall, I love it. I've been multiple times and I'm currently planning another trip soon.

Bro this school is so fire as a current student there I can personally say its fire.
Pixel — Google review
I attended school there in 1966 because I was struggling in Alabama Public School. Most of the students were wards of the state and I had both parents a home. Because of this I had to fight for several werks. You see I had what those wards would never have. I did come to understand that I was smarter than I believed and so were some of my tormentors. I helped them with their lessons and kept them out of study hall and soon was just one of the fellows.
I enjoyed the schedule, my chores and especially the home grown meals. I got through the year and did not return. However I saw at FCA how lucky I was to have both loving folks and finished high school, and got a MS degree and then a Master in Education. I owe lots to FCA. Hopefully there is still value there. I hope to visit one Fall and see the campus.

I went here in 1999. Beautiful place, beautiful people. I had never met real Christian's before. They showed me love and acceptance to the point the walls of hurt in my life collapsed and I fully surrendered to Christ.
Joshua Gibson — Google review
I remember being here for 6 years and they were the best of my life because of the great Christian environment and great activities like CRS, the rodeo every year, and the town pool during the summer.
Colin Carmichael — Google review
There were some good things here. Was mislead on front end about activities available for my 7th grader. Was told summer session attendees were allowed a week at the summer camp. This was false. Was told my child would be able to participate with radio station. Again false as it is for 9th grade or older. Was told he had opportunities to ride the horses. Never happened. Had extensive conversation with administrator and with “house parent” about challenges school would bring for my child. How traumatized my child had been by physical abuse and how a paddling would be very traumatizing for him. Was assured they had other forms of discipline and that would be a last resort. So as the challenges of school came to pass it took less than a month for them to paddle my child. He was freaked. The next minor thing they sent him back to be paddled again. Principle said he was getting a paddling every time he had to come in-for any discipline. The trauma of being hit was too much and he refused. Refusal to be hit is an immediate termination. Few other points to know is in my child’s case house parents was really a man to oversee. Very little contact with the wife. They try to make it sound like a home, it is more like a dorm with an RA. My child was filthy when I went to visit. Hadn’t washed his hair in 4 days or brushed his teeth in a week. When I addressed it with the house parent he said he couldn’t assure me that he was clean or teeth were brushed. He had too many things on his plate. I assure you a parent would have never taken a filthy kid like that to church and into town as they did my child. You are only allowed 1 10 minute phone call per week. The kids cannot call you. My child was not aggressive toward anyone, no inappropriate behavior toward any other students, no drugs, cigarettes or any other type of contraband. His behavior as school started was exactly as I discussed before enrolling him. Rarely completed and handed in assignments. Tried to get out of doing the work he should do. Was assured they could help him. I’m sorry to disagree, hitting a child who is already suffering from trauma of physical is not effective. The counselor we have been seeing told me he has had many students he works with go there and they kick kids out for the most insignificant reasons. This is true as I know of 3 besides my child who were “shipped” in the first few weeks.
Good luck to all those seeking guidance and a good place for your child. French Academy May or May Not be the place.

My grandson attends and lives there 2 years ago he went there, a kid heading for trouble, he is such a different child, shall I say young man now. With tragedy in his family last year, I was afraid everything would be back like it was before. He now says he wants to go back next school year and also finish school there. They have instilled confidence and self-esteem that he did not have when he went down there. He says they sit and talk with him and helps him to understand or come to terms with things that have happened. I cannot believe only give God the glory and praise God for using this school for bringing him so far and I pray some way when he comes home this summer that he will be able to return next school year. Thank all of you for helping him like you have. This school has been a blessing.

DO NOT send you kids here. There are multiple illegal activities that the staff/authorities of French Camp are engaged in that the parents never get to see. This is NOT a safe place for young boys OR young girls. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE. IT WILL TRAUMATIZE THEM.

Formed 36 million years ago, this forest has a nature trail, museum, campground & gem-mining area.
We enjoyed our visit. The trails are pet friendly! The gift shop is very interesting and the gentleman was super friendly. They have a very small campground there. It is nothing fancy, but the price is awesome! We stayed 5 nights so we could enjoy the area.

Guy in the store was rude . Looked at us like we are there to steal something. Was not any kind of help what so ever. He was just rude and disrespectful the whole time we were in the store. Then the camp sites were the smallest I've ever seen. Literally better off parking in the ditch. The trail was pointless, and small just like the guy that ran the store.!! The coolest thing we saw was the old train.

Awesome place, feels like a walk through the past. The trail takes a good thirty minutes to complete, at the end there is a small museum full of really interesting fossils and minerals. The staff is friendly and patient and the gift shop has alot in stock and the prices are really good. Would definitely recommend a trip.

My wife and I and our daughters we're only going to stop by on our way through. But they closed right before we got there. There were some storm in the area, so we debated on what to do. We talked to a few of the campers that were there and they said why not stay. There were quite a few empty spots and we found one that worked perfect for our camper. The next morning when the store opened we paid for our spot and then went on the trail. Then found some great gift in the shop. Awesome place to stop.

Campsite number 2 is fantastic. No neighbors nearby, and the lot is really long. It isn't level front to back, so be prepared to spend some time leveling your RV if you don't have an automatic leveling system.
The self-guided tour on the nature trail through the petrified forest was amazing because we were escorted the entire way by a super friendly cat named Jasper. She meowed ahead of us to keep us moving, but she occasionally stopped to let us pet her.

Stumbled upon this place on a road trip, we saw the signs on the interstate. Was so glad we made the stop! It was the perfect little walk through the woods, and opportunity to experience the petrified forest. Very good self-guided tour. There was a gift shop with gem center at the beginning and end. Very clean facilities, restrooms, and could easily spend two or three hours here. Very family-friendly. Would recommend this to family or friends who are traveling to the area.

Nice informative trail to learn about petrified wood. Spent about 1-1.5 hrs there to walk through the forest, visit museum and gift shop. Beware of the bugs. They have bug spray at the beginning of the trail. I didn't use it and then got several big bug bites (never saw what was biting me). Thankfully they quickly disappeared within hours. The trail is short but very pretty with several numbered spots where you can read information in your booklet they give you. $7/adult. Some discounts like AAA are available.

Very interesting place to visit.
Love the nature through the forest.
Was fascinating to walk through a forest that was so old and still around for us to admire. And one of the simple things that I like about the forest is that it isn't touched too much. (Too touristy) it's just nature.. but marked at locations to explain what you're seeing. We could appreciate that. Great place to see🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟+

Walked about one half mile of twisting trail passing petrified logs scattered. At one place looked like log jam of bunch of petrified trees. Ending the walk inside is a large labeled display of fossils, minerals, crystals too numerous to describe, then gift shop inside and outside. Very friendly staff.

Me and my boys found this place when we stopped to get gas at a gas station. And it was so worth the stop! The guy in the shop said it would take 30 minutes to walk the trail and it probably would have if we wasn't stopping and taking pictures and looking or making jokes and learning cool facts about the place. We stayed on the trail for 2 hours just enjoying the peacefulness no one else was there just the birds and trees. It was a really cool little treasure to find!

Great place! The self guided tour through the petrified forest is very interesting, with 26 interpretive signs. The gift shop has just about any kind of fossil, rock, or gemstone you might want. The campground has a rustic, in-the-woods feel but has full hookups and a bathhouse. There is a huge picnic area with a covered pavilion. Tours and camping are very reasonably priced.
My friends and I love these escape rooms. They are original, creative, and enjoyable. Currently they have 5 rooms and I would do them all again if I could. Of the escape rooms in town, these are by far my favorite. I wish they still had the ones at their old location in Jackson. If you need something to do, I highly recommend this place. They seem to have stopped cycling and creating new rooms.

The Mississippi Children's Museum offers interactive exhibits, engaging activities and educational programs for children in the areas of arts, history, health and science. It provides a great indoor activity option for both cold and hot weather with lockers available for convenience. The museum promotes learning through cooperation while also prioritizing safety with parental supervision. Overall, the museum is an enjoyable experience that encourages kids to make wise choices and work together to solve problems.
Nice treat to get out of the cold. And when it's too hot outside, this would be a good break. There are lockers here, bring a quarter or two! Lockers are 25 cents and worth it. That way to don't have to walk around carrying a coat. Kids have fun here, especially when they've been taught manners or they have siblings present to keep them reminded to make wise choices.
Parents are good to have around to supervise and assure safety of all the kids. (Parents, this is a learning children's museum where kids learn to cooperate... give them a chance to work out issues and the coach them).
Really enjoyed being here. Can't wait to come back.

We were there for a good solid 2-3 hours. We also really loved the fact that there was a place to get a cold drink or snack, plenty of restrooms, even a gift shop and park outside to enjoy. Couldn’t think of another thing that they could add to make it better to be honest. We all throughly enjoyed our afternoon spent here. The Christmas Tree and slide was some of our favorite items this time of year. We went the Friday after Thanksgiving. 🎄♥️🎅🏽

The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science is an impressive indoor/outdoor facility located in a state park. It offers visitors the opportunity to explore nature through interactive learning exhibits, including an aquarium and greenhouse. The museum's live exhibits feature fish, reptiles, sea turtles and even a two-headed snake. In addition to these displays, there are various games available for visitors to play throughout the different sections of the museum.
Really cool place. The interactive blood suckers exhibit with mosquitoes and leaches was really cool. I went with my 5 year old son and we both really enjoyed all the exhibits. The fish were great, but the baby turtles were ADORABLE. Super convenient as we were in town to go the the childrens museum and this is located on the same road. Definitely plan to return again, when it's drier. We would of walked some of the trails but due to the rain, it was a little too muddy for me. But I definitely want to go back to do the trails... the easy one anyway. Staff was very friendly as well.

Very nice clean museum the exhibits are a little bit small but they also have a lot of live animals which is cool. The best part about the museum in my opinion was the temporary exhibit that was all about the history of video games. I've never seen something like this in a museum before but it would be cool to see stuff like this in more museums

Fun museum, with a beautiful aquarium exhibit. I wish there had been more fossils and fewer video game exhibits, but I get it. However they had some really great pieces.
The nature hikes behind the museum are gorgeous. Hopefully the water levels will be lower next visit, as there were several trails we could not explore.

I'm not gonna lie and say this is an all day, knock your socks off museum cause it's not, but it is amazing and totally worth it.
We had 3 kids, ages 6, 8, and 12. They will enjoyed themselves. My son hasn't stopped talking about the two headed snake and my niece enjoyed the live animals, taking particular interest in a gator that apparently had a jaw injury at some point. My daughter thought the outdoor dinos was absolutely amazing.
It will only take a couple hours to go though, but it was well curated and appealing to both the kids and adults in our group. With it being right next to a wonderful playground, it made for a great afternoon!

It was definitely fun for my children, ages 5 & 7. They were able to learn about their natural surroundings here in MS, and they were able to meet Peter the tortoise.

Absolutely one of the best museums I have come across in many years..The staff here was very friendly and very knowledgeable...My daughter's field trip here was very informative and I was very pleased with the information provided here compared to our local so- called museums.. I for one give a 2 Thumbs Up Kudos to this Facility

This is such a great science museum. It has plenty of types of animals, fish and insects. You need to take your time to read all the information of each of them. You'll be very entertained with such a great museum! I enjoyed it very much because inside is big and you have more dinosaurs outside. You'll like it a lot!

Blood suckers exhibit was quite cool and very informative. Other exhibits are also well organized and interesting. Quite affordable, 8$/adult and 6$/youth. Lots to see and learn about endangered species in Mississippi. Brilliant to have the museum connected to the nature trail and to playground and Children’s museum. Not 5 stars because we did not feel welcome. From the admission lady who staring at her phone to the gift-shop staff or any other staff we encountered, no smile and no interaction. They were all looking like they wanted to be somewhere else!

We loved it... even bought a membership. We mostly enjoyed the trails around the museums. We are seniors and look forward to coming here often.

Wonderful way to spend a cold, wintery day. I saw and learned about critters I didn't know existed in my backyard aka ponds and I am even more determined than ever not to get back in. 💯😂🤣 Find out about the plants and wildlife you may encounter on your outdoor adventures in the great state of Mississippi. Nature is ever changing, abundant in wildlife, flowers, and creatures in different shapes, sizes, and habitats.

We almost didn’t make it here! The entrance was sort of blocked off, they are doing construction of some kind and originally we were going to try the kids museum but it looked closed, so kept on driving and decided to try this place out. I’m so glad we did! This place is very unassuming and I didn’t not go in with high expectations. There were few people and no line to pay. Fair warning, the animatronic dinosaurs might seem a bit scary for smaller kids, but we made it work. The live animal tanks are a great juxtaposition to the built habitats and honestly I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did! The outdoor trails looked great, and the various dinosaur statues were pretty fun. There was this interactive play station for kids showing a topographic map that was also super entertaining! Overall, highly recommend. Like I mentioned at the beginning, this place is right by the children’s museum so you could easily make a day of it, and there’s also a good sized public park!

My husband, two daughters (6&7), and I toured the museum for the first time Dec 30th. We were so impressed with the exhibits and nature trails. We really enjoyed ourselves and found the admission price to be reasonable. Definitely recommend.
The Jackson Zoo is a park-like zoo that houses more than 120 different animal species, each living in carefully crafted natural habitats. Despite facing limitations in funding, the zoo manages to offer a great experience for visitors of all ages. The staff are friendly and passionate about their work, which helps create an enjoyable public relations experience. The animals on display are active and can be viewed up close from excellent vantage points, making them highly interactive with visitors.
First time there! It was a little different from the bigger zoos. There was plenty of space and time to explore. The animals there were fat and happy! They have a large variety of animals, and appeared to be acquiring more as many of the exhibits we're without inhabitants. It was early in the season and very happy to have the experience with my son, who LOVED it! The carousel was fun as carousels are! I bet it will be spectacular during the height of the summer season! I've been told the train should return then.
Be prepared to prepurchase tickets or have cash on hand to enter, as they didn't take cards at the door. The carousel rides are $2 each, so prepurchase at admissions or have cash on hand!
Also, remember to carry in something to eat and drink, as they don't have food nor drink available to purchase except for unreliable Pepsi machines and one snack machine inside the admissions building.
For the fun experience, friendliness of the park staff and especially the price of admission, it was worth trying on our spring break to Jackson getaway!

This zoo was lovely and was definitely much more beautiful than I anticipated. Loved the range of animals in there. Felt a little sorry for the lonely ones like the Giraffe, Tiger, Black Bear, Rhinoceros but that's just my animal loving sensitive side lol. I love how they made the habitats feel real for the animals in there. The only down side was, there was no real restaurants just a few food trucks. It would also be really nice to have a place for souvenirs as well. All in all, I am giving this place a 5 star because it surpassed my expectations. :)

This zoo needs some major help!!
Let me start by saying the staff were wonderful. Everyone talked to my 3yo and I as we passed by. But we were there from noon to 4 and only saw five employees total the entire time. One at the entrance for tickets, one at the carousel, one driving by on a golf cart and two zoo keepers walking by that stopped and talked to us.
The animals seemed well taken care of and happy but the zoo was practically crumbling down around them. Several closed off areas due to structural issues, broken and missing signs all over, and countless cracks/falling hazards in the pathways.
Everything was cash only which could be seen as a major inconvenience in today’s world, but I did my research and brought cash.
The fruit popsicle we bought had been previously completely melted and refrozen. My toddler didn’t seem to mind but it made for a huge mess and just a little distasteful.
We loved the Rhino, monkeys, hippo, and zebra.

My family and I are visiting Jackson Mississippi on vacation. We were excited to visit the Zoo and to our surprise we were disappointed. The grass is over grown, majority of the exhibits were closed and the animals that are there appears to be kept to the bare minimum. We were informed by an employee and another park guest the zoo may be moving and little monies is going into the up keep of the attraction. If the zoo isn’t going to be maintained for the better good of the animals, employees and park guests please close for business and move the remaining animals to another facility that will care for them as they should be.

The perfect place for an afternoon. Although there are obvious issues, you can’t deny that the staff at the Jackson Zoo are trying their hardest with what they have. Having more attendance and sponsors would help with the structural issues they face, as there is no denying that they are underfunded. Everyone was friendly as well! There are also animal wish lists on Amazon that one can easily access to help!!

Everything is run down. Grass is over grown. Animals are depressed. Staff does not care and the place is barely running. This place needs to be shut down and I recommend everybody to tell them to do the same. The animals are in extremely poor conditions. It’s a joke the city runs it the way they do.

Desperately in need of MAJOR funding, TLC, and animals. A lot of empty exhibits and attractions. The carousel was closed but the music was playing. The deli near the African Savanah was closed. A lot of doors open that said "staff only." And no train for the track at Livingston Park. When I drove in the gate, I had a feeling that I might not drive out. It feels empty before you see anything.
The animals they have: tiger, bear, monkeys, birds, rhino, zebra, turtles, ostriches, fish do look healthy and taken care of.

Needs some repairs, and updated really bad. Even if the walkways were taken better care of I believe you would have more guests come see your little zoo.

The setting of the zoo is lovely. It is a very old zoo, 115 yrs I think. That said, it has fallen on hard times, especially through the pandemic. They only have 3 full time staff I think.
The animals are all healthy and the grounds are clean. animals we have not seen elswhere:
Kookaburras
Rhino
Ruffed tailed (brown/red coated) lemurs
7 alligators (we have seen token small ones at other zoos, but these guys were huge!)
Baby Black bear. Lost its mother and they are trying to find a buddy for him.
The carousel was fun! Lots of interesting animals to ride there.

This place should be shut down! Cages falling in, potholes, only saw 1 tiger, 1 bear, 1 rhino, a couple chimps, monkeys and GOLDFISH! Grass is taller than some exhibits, trees down all over the place(from a storm 3 weeks ago) No food/drink options. Best thing was the snake house with a few snakes! Splash pad barely worked. Aquarium building had dirty murky water full of goldfish!
Sarah Piper — Google review
the pictures should speak for themselves. it was way worse in person. i feel extremely bad for the animals. literally, couldn’t see half of them because of the weeds. they barely have any animals. from the looks of it, they care more about the splash pad. the cafe wasn’t open and grown up, restrooms too. the vending machine they did have for drinks, you have to click one drink to get what you want ( click a peach fanta for a pepsi). absolutely just sad. i would add videos. but the bear exhibit was the saddest for me. the bridges were literally dry rotted and falling apart. the picture of it was loose, and the video i have you can literally shake it and it almost falls off. won’t be going back! they should be shut down for the sake of the animals.

Great experience for the price! This zoo does an incredible job with the limiting funding they receive. They have several new exhibits opening soon!
The keepers were friendly and incredibly passionate about public relations. Moreover, the animals that are on exhibit were active with excellent viewing areas.
There is even a SMALL attached water park play area for those hot Mississippi summer days!
I would highly recommend a visit, show the local zoo some love!
Giraffe, zebras, camels & other free-roaming wildlife on a preserve that offers safari tours.
Tori was an amazing guide! We had so much fun seeing and feeding those precious animals. It was so amazing to see them in open space rather than the typical zoo experience. I definitely recommend the private tour!! So worth the additional cost!!

Super cool experience.
Giraffes are my favorite animal on earth, and I’ve fed them a few times, but never quite as up close as this. I’ve never been able to pet them before. It was surreal.
My family had fun. There was a diverse mix of animals on the tour, and while some were hidden or resting, the animal we got to see up close were amazing.
Our tour guides were knowledgeable and kind. One person lost their hat, and they stopped to help him retrieve it.
For less than $150, 6 of us enjoyed a couple of hours experiencing something fun, educational, and unusual from the daily grind.

What an amazing experience! Most of the animals come right up to you and eat out of your hand. The tour guides were all very knowledgeable and the ride was just the right amount of time. Bring water though, it’s hot out there, even with the shade of the covered wagons. The family feed was enough for 2-3 people to make it through the entire loop. Watching the animals run and having them eat out of your hand was the highlight of the trip!

Highly recommend! Family enjoyed this trip. We decided to do the private pinzer tour and it did not disappoint. We were able to go wherever the animals were as most of them were of the road a little bit. I would recommend buying 2 buckets of feed if you do the private tour. You will need it!

We enjoyed our Saturday trip to Global Life Safari. We loved seeing the animals roam freely. They gathered quickly at the wagons when we stopped. During this time you are encouraged to interact and fed the animals. We were informed that feeding the Zebras would be against the rules prior to starting the tour. Believe what they say…DO NOT FEED THE ZEBRAS. We purchased a bucket thinking it would be enough for a family of four. We were wrong! We were so excited about feeding and interacting with the animals that we ran out of food about halfway. We plan to purchase a sack or bin on our next visit. Our wonderful experience made up for the two hour drive time.

Very family oriented loved personal tour by Marissa. This center offers you a unique way of interacting with animals, feeding them, and touching them.... The experience of feeding a giraffe inches from you and petting it to feel that connection with man and animal is priceless, i also got to feed and pet lamas, buffalo. Antalope, cows, tiny ponies, and so many more!!! Book a private trip today!! You won't regret it. Thank you to all the hard working staff who keep this place alive for the animals to have safe and fun environment.

This is an awesome facility. I first visited here decades ago as a field trip and was so happy to be able to share the experience with my family recently. The drive up to the check-in facility gives you a good taste of what's to come. It is great that you can buy tickets online now too. Check-in was a breeze and every staff member was very friendly. Our tour guide (wish I could remember his name!) had full tour worked the crowd of people & animals well. The private tours are great, but you won't be disappointed with the larger group ones either--the animals don't discriminate!

Excellent upgrade after all the hurricanes last few years. The staff, grounds, cleanliness, bathrooms, all 5 star. Thank you so much. Please everyone come visit this place. We missed the Zebra's were on the do not feed list...but they get fed 3 times a day. They were the life of the party last time we came about 5 years ago. Must be because they are food aggressive. Appreciate all of the staff. Job well done. See you again next year.

It was a nice trip for the kids. They really enjoyed being able to be around the wildlife & getting to feed some. They didn't start on time...which took away time from our reserve viewing time. I booked for 2p.m didn't start until 2:40 and finished an hr later. But we enjoyed it. The phone says you have to book online but I'm sure you can also buy tickets in their booth. We got the $35 dollar bucket of food and last us the whole way. Someone got a sack and finished it real quick. It all matters how you distribute the animals food through out the ride. Wish they had hippos or more diverse grass eating mammals. Go try it out, the wagon ride for adult cost 19..Kids over 2yrs 13. And infants is free.

This was really nice. I didn't know what to expect. It is about a 1:15 long ride around a nature preserve with hundreds/thousands of animals. We bought a family bucket of feed which worked well with the 2 kids we had with us. It was an enjoyable experience. Maybe this is appropriately priced, but I thought just a tad high - maybe I'm cheap.

Relaxed B&B on a 75-acre farm offering quaint accommodations, an outdoor pool & horseback riding.
We went for a ride back in January and it turned in to an adventure!! So my Daughter is a first time rider and my wife and I have ridden several times before. They chose to use the lead line for my daughter's horse as she did not do a good job steering. Everything was nice and smooth until about 1:15 into the ride. While going through the water on a chilly day, my daughter feel off her horse and got soaked.
So what happened was it looked like her horse stepped into a hole and hopped out of it. The problem was that my daughter was not holding on well enough so she bounced off the saddle and into the water. She popped right up screaming. I know horrible right?!? I was right behind her and my horse Kernel barely batted an eye. Kelsey immediately jumped off her horse letting both animals go and went straight to my daughter. The second guide took off his jacket and they wrapped her up and started heading for the barn. All the horses started following them except mine knew that wasn't the plan and didn't want to turn around. When he finally turned around we were a good ways behind.
Here's the fun part. We ran! I kept him and at medium trot as I was not comfortable running was fast as he wanted to run. We caught up and then he fell right in line.
I was very satisfied with the reaction of the staff but more importantly the horses. They could have easily spooked and panicked while stepping on or kicking my daughter. She walked away cold and wet but not hurt at all. If we had a change of clothes for her we would have had her "get back on that horse".!
Most definitely was a good time and I got to run a horse faster than I ever have!

Can’t say enough good things about Splendor Farms. My daughter started taking lessons there a year ago with Kelsey. We absolutely love her, she is so wonderful and patient. The farm is always pleasant to visit. Clean, organized and well taken care of. After some time we decided we were ready to purchase a horse of our own and Kelly was kind enough to sell a horse to us that my daughter truly loved. She is so kind and knowledgeable. She runs programs that are good for any young girls, teaching them responsibility and accountability. Splendor Farms has become a second home for us and our horse is still boarded there. I would recommend to anyone!

Took the girls for a horsey ride. Been asking for a long while. Red dead redemption II will have that effect. Both are fascinated with the creature, and I was also curious to ride one. We did the 1 hour ride and it was interesting. It's hard to get the horse away from the grass.lol. it's easy to yank the leads, but your like"just let him eat for a second " I wish I could remember her name, but she was definitely a cowgirl. Nice as could be and conversated with the girls. I plan on another trip doing the 1.5hr ride. Hope to get the same guild.

I have two dachshunds from Splendor Farms. Hercules was my first puppy and has the best temperament. He has always been a happy and easy going little guy, but I felt like he would be even happier with a friend. A few months ago, I reached out to Kelly to inquire about her thoughts on which direction I should go...another puppy or an older fur baby (Hercules was now 3 years old) and she told me she had a 10 month old that she thought would be a perfect fit. Needless to say Hercules and I took a road trip to Splendor Farms and came back with a new best friend! Both are wonderful additions to the family....naturally there was an adjustment period, but I cannot imagine life without them. Fur babies are just like people and have their own unique personalities! While Herc is laid back and chill (pretty sure he would make friends with a burglar) Gideon is my guard dog who hears everything and alerts me! He is also like a teenager and talks back from time to time- Herc just gives me the side eye! Both my boys are very healthy and well adjusted. Kelly is great and has always been helpful when I sought out guidance. She truly cares about the puppies and both of my boys are proof of that. If I decide to add to the family she will be the one I call!

We had THE BEST weekend at Splendor Farms for our daughter's 7th birthday! My husband, son, daughter and I stayed in the cabin for two nights. The first day, we checked in, and Ms. Kelly showed us all around. The kids loved seeing the goats, chickens, dogs and, of course, all the horses. We went out to dinner that night, but the next day, we utilized the full kitchen for every meal. For our morning ride, Kirsten took us out. We were even able to go through water for what felt like a very unique trail ride. Because the stables are closed Mondays, we went for a second ride Sunday afternoon with Kelsey. Both young ladies were fantastic, great leaders and knowledgeable. Ms. Kelly checked in with us frequently (but unnecessarily, because we never needed anything they hadn't provided). That night, we built a fire in the fire pot provided and hung out. We also worked on a puzzle and played a board game during our down time. It was exactly what we were looking for!

My wife and I cannot say enough good things about our beautiful dachshund that we got from Splendor Farms. We wanted an adult dog. Kelly, the owner of Splendor Farms, could not have been nicer and has been all these years later. Any question or concern we have had has been answered quickly and thoroughly and with good research done when necessary, as when there were concerns about some brands of dog food. As for the dog, she is the calmest sweetest best behaved dog and this is due, we know, to the loving care she received at Splendor Farms. We would recommend anyone get a beautiful well bred dachshund from Kelly at Splendor Farms.

The young woman who was the guide was wonderful. The horses were pleasant and sweet.
The owner of the place needs to communicate and listen better. When I originally submitted a ride inquiry online, I selected a one hour ride. I also stated on the phone numerous times a one hour ride. When I checked my bank statement, I noticed I was charged for an hour and a half.
I ended up being okay with the hour and a half ride.
When my friend and I arrived 15 minutes early for our ride, I noticed a group already heading out, which I thought was odd. One of the young women working said that there was no communication about my friend and me coming, so my friend and I would have to wait another hour and a half. I booked this ride several weeks in advance and also emailed to confirm several days prior. I found it frustrating that the employees were not communicated to.
Overall, I enjoyed the ride, but the bad communication on the owner's part will make me not return.

We took a horseback riding tour here. It lasted 1.5 hrs. If you enjoy getting dirty with mud, then you will like it. Parts of the trail are surrounded by weed that get stuck on your clothing by its thorns. You will have to dodge tree branches occasionally, and you will go through muddy areas quite a few times, and the splatter goes all over your clothes! So, you will need extra clothes and shoes.
I enjoy this kind of stuff, so to me it was a lot of fun.
About their service: Staff is kind and helpful, but it definitely needs to improve. We walked around for a while until someone ran into us, and we told her we were there for the horseback riding tour.
They will help you get on the horse, get everything adjusted to you, and off you go! They will not give you any kind of information prior to or during the tour, so you just don't know what to expect.
We even had to cross a "pond" that covered the legs of the horses! Nobody saw that coming!
The splatter went everywhere! Hilarious!!!

Fabulous relaxing and pretty retreat away from the bustling city ( but not too far ) ! The Horses are well trained , cared for and docile . The 2 trail guides Kyle and Elise were very helpful , astute to our needs and knowledgeable .
I rode on May 8 for an hour, and took the forest trail with Kyle . When I came for the weekend of Friday, May 19 through Sunday, May 21, we rode one day with Elise and one day with Kyle . They kept me on the same horse both days because he was wonderful, “Snickers “.Snickers did try to advance to the front on the trail but Kyle kept him in check following behind Kyles horse . We got to ride on both trails , one day to the Lake and the second day on the forest trail . Both trails were equally peaceful and pretty . We stood in the private independent cabin across the road . It was pretty , roomy and stocked with essentials we needed including grill , coffee and ingredients for s’mores . The bed and room were very comfy and clean . We used the Jacuzzi both nights and it was private and relaxing . The owner Kelly’s was very welcoming and accommodating to our needs . All I can say is it was a wonderful weekend and I can’t wait to go back again. I highly recommend Splendour Farms for an hour ride or a stay over for a day or a weekend. I’m definitely recommending this place to all my friends and trying to organize a group to go again soon in the fall. Thank you again Miss Kelly for this wonderful experience and sharing your place and your beautiful horses with us.

I have acquired 3 beautiful dogs from Splendor Farms over the last 12 years. My first was over 12 years ago . He was a happy playful loving little boy and my dearest companion for 12 years . He passed away due to a sudden illness 3 months ago. When Kelly ( the breeder) heard of my loss she called me and we cried together. A short time later I decided I and my 3 year old dachshund needed another dog to heal our souls . After looking on the site I was interested in a little older puppy posted there. I contacted Kelly to ask about him . She knew the personality of my girl, who I picked up as a 3 month old, 3 years ago. She also knew the temperament of the little boy who caught my eye . She told me they would be a good fit . And indeed they are. Getting an older dog who has lived on the farm is a little different than getting a baby . It takes a little more patience as my environment and farm life is quite different . He has been with us 3 months and I have watched him blossom into a funny, playful kind of bossy little guy. I have been well pleased with all my puppies from Splendor Farms . They are healthy beautiful animals with good temperaments . I know if I have any problem I can call Kelly as a resource person and she will share her knowledge gladly. She held my puppies first after all. My 6 month old was microchipped, crate trained and housebroken. I get so tickled each night when I carry my girl to her kennel and tell him to kennel up. He runs straight into the kennel and wait patiently for me to close it and tell him good night!

After a devastating loss of one of our fur babies, my husband found Kelly McKinney and Splendor Farms. Kelly was so helpful and very kind. As a result, we drove to Louisiana and purchased two beautiful female puppies from her. We immediately fell in love with our girls!!! Kelly and her team do such a great job of socializing their puppies. They are sweet and kind and have the best dispositions. 2 years later we adopted two male brothers and they are just as wonderful and such characters!! We have an elderly dachshund that we rescued and they all love each other. Most importantly, Kelly is very serious about her business and the welfare of her horses, adult dogs and her puppies. Kelly is very informed, organized, and is always available to answer questions and concerns. If you are someone that is very serious about adopting then you will be in very good hands. We thank Kelly everyday for our beautiful babies!

Splendor Farms is by far the best full grown and little dachshunds you could ever want. I received two grown five-year-olds and they are truly my soul. I also asked for another one that was 3 months old. These are the best trained dogs I’ve ever seen. No bad habits what so ever no accidents, you just can’t get a better dog. I have six altogether and the three I got from Kelly or truly the best. These dogs have the best temperament and even the veterinarian said so. And I want to thank her because they are truly my heart.

Purchased an adult male dachshund (about 1 1/2 years old) from Kelly and it was a positive experience. She was very professional and polite to deal with, and our dog is wonderful. Even though he was an adult, he quickly adjusted to our family with three kids and three other dogs. He gets lots of compliments on both his looks and manners. I would recommend considering this place if you are looking to add a dachshund to your home!

She truly cares about each pup and their wellbeing for their entire life. Would highly recommend. If you are looking for a dachshund, this is the place to go.
Festive craft brewery producing several signature & seasonal beers plus offering tours & tastings.
Absolutely enjoyed our visit to Abita brewery. We met some very kind and helpful staff members that helped us find the right Abita beers to our liking. I enjoyed the purple haze the most. The cleanliness of the area was outstanding and the atmosphere was perfect. It was a busy place but still well kept. They also have guided and self guided tours. We enjoyed our visit and hope to back soon. I forgot to add, they also have a very large parking lot.

Passed through Louisiana and wanted to stop by a brewery. The outdoor seating area was large and great if your bringing a dog. The beer selection was great I loved that they had small special batches to try.

Great time at Abita Brew Co. today. Have been looking forward to stopping by here ever since we moved to LA about 4 years ago. In addition to great beers and service, the taproom manager Alex went above and beyond for me and made the experience truly personal. Can’t wait to come back here again. If you’re coming around the area, take the detour and go have a beer or two. Promise it won’t disappoint.

Abita Brewery is a Gem! We stopped for the night on our way to Alabama. Harvest Host has them on their list. Great parking area. Very quiet. Beautiful grounds. Fun karaoke night. But the best part was their beer. Huge production and so many great ones!!! If you find their brand in stores, buy it. If you're in Covington LA stop by. They are worth a stop. People are so nice too. Two thumbs up.

The tap room employees are the best and so is the freshness of the beer. They have a bunch of pilot beers on tap that you can't try anywhere else. The pilots are hit and miss but mostly hits. If you like Abita beers then chances are you'll like something on the pilot taps even more. One thing to mention is that there is no food there unless they bring in a food truck. It's an enjoyable nice place.

Huge place! There was a seafood boil outside since there’s no food inside. Pick up whatever you want to eat and bring it. All the beers on tap, lots of merchandise, and most of the beers in the fridge to bring home. Nice outdoor space to compliment the indoor bar, games provided, dog park and picnic tables too, ample parking

Went by on Saturday for something to do, and there was a craft fair going on across the street. There were also a few food trucks out front and a great crowd inside. We had a couple of beers and even took the 2:00 tour. JD did a great job showing us around and teaching us the history of the brewery. Was absolutely blown away by how big the operation was and the quality of the equipment behind the scenes. Totally worth taking the time to learn a little about the beer we were drinking.

The brewery was pretty small and clean. Tour was great for $10, and you will get a pint or flight after the tour. There's outdoor space as well.

Edit: I am now adding a fifth star as a representative from their customer service team reached out to me and listened to what I had to say. I felt understood and appreciated. Thank you so much Heidi! You are amazing!
It was difficult to find the entrance to the parking lot when coming in. Once parked, walk in and check in at the bar and get four doubloons to get beer after the tour. Walk to where the gift shop is and wait. The tour was nice. I like how they are intentional with their recycling and power usage. When the tour was over, I asked about getting the beverages to go and there was only the offer of open containers, which I didn't really want since I live about an hour away and came to the tour by myself. If I had been pulled over with four open containers, that would not have been a good look. They were also out of root beer in the gift shop, which is one thing that I knew I wanted and no one was around to ask for help. A female bartender said they were too busy to help with the gift shop questions. The tour is five stars, the bar and gift shop are one star.

We had a fun and informative tour. Our tour guide did a wonderful job explaining the process as well as what makes Abita different.
My wife and I did tasting flights afterwards. Great beer! Keep an eye out for the beers currently on test runs. Give them feedback. It could become their next regular brew.

Abita is known for their use of local ingredients, commitment to sustainability and of course Purple Haze – one of the most popular raspberry brews in the US. Unfortunately for us, we landed on a day without tours, bummer. Even without a tour, we looked forward to getting our hands on beers outside our general distribution. In this case, the AndyGator, Strawgator and Bourbon Street Barrel Aged Imperial Stout ended up on our flight alongside a fresh Purple Haze.
Bourbon Street BA is 100% the beer to get your hands on. BSBA is insanely smooth and delicious, also it was aged in Pappy Van Winkle barrels. For those of you who don’t know Pappy, that’s kind of a big deal.
So artsy and creative! This is a great example of repurposing older buildings and just how nice a town can be when people put their hearts into making it an enjoyable place for everyone to visit. I love the eclectic, rustic element.

Love the antique village strip and the farmers market is a bit smaller than you are used to, but my children, myself, and my parents were very pleased with the vegetables that were available for a decent price and the vendors were very happy to make a special item for my daughter and their prices were very reasonable.

The only reason I really go to that place is for CJ's antiques. My husband and I have been doing there for years. Though we miss Mr CJ, and hope he finds rest in peace, his family seems to have taken over the antiques store and are doing a bang up job too! We often sell antiques we find around the house and around various places like, yard sales, thrift stores or even online. They offer great prices as long as you bring them quality antiques and they know their stuff so don't try to bring them any reproductions because they'll spot them a mile away. Friendly people great business, with a great shop that has kept us coming back for many years now.

Wow! I am blown away at the experience my family received. This place was magical to someone who lives in the northern part of the country. The hospitality we received was second to none. Mike and Frankie were some of the nicest people we have ever met. She was knowledgeable and comfortable with all the animals. They were happy to answer questions about the show and the animals. I could spend all day being able to get that close to animals I have never seen before. Thank you for the amazing experience. We will be back for sure!

Our family came just after a large group of 100+ just finished their visit, so the owner took us on our own personal tour. He was very knowledgeable & answered all of our questions. He explained that some of the enclosures were undergoing expansion & rearranging to better accommodate all their animals. We especially loved our up close visit being able to hold & pet all the super friendly animals. My daughter wanted to spend the rest of the day there. We never felt rushed & truly had a great time. We also liked that this is a family owned business that has every member of Kliebert family helping care for the animals.😊

Katie was absolutely amazing with giving the tour and answering any questions we had. We got there mid-tour so joined the tour she was currently giving and then walked around on our own afterwards. Also, props for this place also being kid-friendly. My 4 year old son had an absolute BLAST!

Theater showing new releases paired with gourmet eats & cocktails available at the push of a button.
It is still my favorite theater, but am disappointed they arent showing In The Heat Of the Nught for the 50th anniversary. It was a landmark film with a wonderful score and exceptional acting. Looked forward in taking a group and spending cash for lunch. Employees are very friendly and helpful, hope great service and movie variety continues.

Beautiful theater and kind staff but upper management needs to increase the wage so they can have employees. I understand that everyone is shorthanded right now, but if you paid more than $10 an hour, you would not have trouble finding workers. Came here expecting to eat lunch but the kitchen was closed. Ordered popcorn and soda delivered to my seat, after an hour of waiting I’m now waiting in line at the concession stand to get it myself. Place is a hot mess. Close until you get staff because I should’ve gone to Hammond.

Love this theater, they got it right. Walk in order food, take seats, and wait for it to arrive! Prices are not insane like most other theaters and the food choices are above the cut. Highly recommend for those who still going to the theater. Also seats are amazing and recline all the way back

Excellent service & comfy seats. We went twice in a week. The first time, we went and could not see our movie (digital key issue). The manager came in, communicated clearly and quickly about the issue, and offered to reimburse the tickets, the food, and issue new tickets (free) to come back and watch our movie. The second time, we used without issues the voucher we got a few days earlier. Great experience. We will be back!

Perfect theater to watch a movie and enjoy delicious food menu. Burgers are juicy and delicious. The place is very welcoming and it’s our number one theater option. We drive over one hour just to come and enjoy our movies along with great atmosphere.

Food is frozen cheap and unworthy of it's dedicated advertising HOWEVER- they do offer seat service and its just as good as outback or your local fast food commercialized vendors-if we're not being high and mighty. If you visit a movie theater that offers servicing to your seat in the form of alcohol And food-should you really complain? 🥸5 star concept . All theaters are overpriced so do not expect this establishment to be any different. Check their menu prices if your trying to charm ahead of time. You can book online and should book ahead of showings. Stay awesome my friends.

The sound and picture quality was nice. The theater is convenient with a bar and a restaurant.
Had to give it four stars because the seats weren't designed to be comfortable for anyone who's more than 5'5" tall.

This is supposed to be one of the nicer movie theaters. Electric reclining seats. Trays to eat from and hold your food. Went there to see the new Indiana Jones movie. Long movie. As soon as we walked from the lobby into the theater I commented, as did everyone in my group, on how hot it was in there. It just got worse because we sat in the very back top row. We had bought tickets ahead of time so that was our seats. Very hot, stuffy and the air was not moving at all. When the server came to bring my nachos we asked if she could see if anything could be done about the air-conditioning. She said she would find out. Nothing changed. One of the ladies in my group called the theater to tell them how hot it was in there. She was told the air conditioner was BROKEN. I was so hot I had to wet a paper towel and put it on my forehead. After spending about $40 on a ticket and snacks, I wasn't about to leave and miss the rest of the movie. When we left the theater, I spoke to the manager. He said the air conditioner was not broken and he didn't know who would have told us that. For sure I won't go back there ever again, or any other movie theater for that matter. I'll just wait for movies to come out on TV.

Staff of friendly and theater was clean and food is good.
This is the second time I’ve went and have not been able to enjoy the movie because of the other people watching. Talking loud, on their phones the whole time and one guy started watching a video. Employees dropping off food said nothing to disrespectful customers. Will not be coming back

2,800-acre park on Lake Pontchartrain with a beach, nature trails, campgrounds & cabins.
Beautiful views, nice campsites, well maintained facilities. But the bathrooms by the beach are closed so they put some porta potties out there. The splash pad wasn't open when we went. We did see a baby snake on the main path to the beach. People just went around it pointing. It was windy and a little chilly but a very nice experience. The park ranger told us he had about 2000 people in and out that day which was a Monday! But we didn't see that many people even in the parking lot and we were there a long time. Lots of grass cutters there all day seemed to be going over the same spots. They keep it real clean cut.

We stayed in this beautiful park for a week in January and couldn’t have been more happy. It is so beautiful. Trees surround the wide paved sites and the sites were spacious. My girls loved traipsing through the streams and looking out for deer. We went to the beach at the lake nearly every day. The bathhouse was clean and very nice for a state park. Water pressure and cell service was great! We hope to return to this park if we are ever in the area again!

I’m not sure why google says this place is a hotel, unless there is a hotel located somewhere near by, but whatever.. it’s a state park.. it’s absolutely stunning. You can take lots of videos and pictures. The shower/bath-house was closed due to being under construction from the store than went through. The alligator marsh was also closed off due to the storm ripping the bridge apart. Hope it’ll be fixed soon! We absolutely love this place and visit at least once or twice a year. It’s well worth the drive. It’s only $3 per person for a day visit. There’s camping spots, it’s quiet, peaceful and gorgeous… they do have plenty of bathrooms around the whole park. The waves and pelicans were singing beautifully!

Beautiful State Park, especially the beach area! Entrance is $3/person. The alligator marsh boardwalk was closed due to damages from previous hurricanes. Trails are nice, might be a bit muddy at some points.

It was raining when we were here but the place looks like it would be gorgeous in better weather. Beautiful beach! Lots of bike trails & nice, paved, camping sites with fire pits & built in outdoor grills. In the summertime there is a splash pad for children that looked nice. The price on the weekend was rather steep - considering it is off season! I think I paid $40+ for a 30 AMP site on a Saturday in November 2022.

We didn’t stay the night, but I brought my kids out there and we had them play in the beach and the water playground. The trees are beautiful and the scenery tin the park is really special. However, the welcome center is closed and in disrepair. So is the building near the water front. The folks at the gate were really nice and we loved the day trip to the park. Would have like to have seen what the welcome center had.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this state park, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The park offers a unique blend of history and tranquility. The remains of an old sugar factory add an intriguing touch, and the pottery course and sugar mill history tour were engaging experiences.
The park's ambiance is incredibly peaceful, making it an ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cabins and camps provided comfortable accommodations, and the meeting space was well-equipped for team building events. I particularly enjoyed the Spanish moss delicately draping over the ancient oak trees, creating a magical atmosphere.
The meeting space was practical with tables, chairs, and a kitchenette that included a full-size refrigerator. What impressed me the most was the option to conduct meetings either inside the building or outside under the shade of picnic tables.
However, I did notice one area for improvement: adding electrical outlets to the pavilions by the beach. With the growing number of remote workers, this addition could attract even more visitors to the park. Many people, myself included, prefer working with a nice view rather than being confined to a Starbucks. Providing charging ports would make it much more convenient.
Considering the reasonable $3 entrance fee, the park offers excellent value for money. The cabins and lodges are not only cost-effective but also spacious enough to accommodate large groups if needed.
In conclusion, I highly recommend this state park to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat with a touch of history and ample recreational opportunities. It's a hidden gem worth exploring, and with the addition of charging ports, it has the potential to attract even more visitors.
Oh... And there's a splash pad for the youngins.

Clean park and bathrooms facilities. The natural landscaping is beautiful. Lots of mossy oak trees! Watching the sunset at the lake was breathtaking. I rode the Tammany Trace into Mandeville for the afternoon. Very easy and peaceful ride there and back. I did have some raccoons come visit me for dinner. But thankfully they didn't stay and eat.

This state park is a treasure. A huge, brick pool house stands as an reminder of the state's history . Reportedly the park once had a public swimming pool, but filled it in response to desegregation . Now there is an odd span of grass and no swimming pool. Still it's a nice place to watch for birds (gulls, kites, eagles...) and stroll through the woods. It has lots of photogenic Old Oaks with Spanish moss. The small Beach is nice for summer.

This state park is situated on the north Bank of Lake Pontchartrain. The Campground is not on the Lake, but rather back in the low, swampy areas. We reserved an improved site (81,) which has a perfectly level pad, but the area around the pad is muddy with standing water from recent rains. Bathhouse is nice, clean, with great water pressure and hot water. Very good since there are no sewer hookups. Lots of bike trails and close to shopping. Great place to stay for proximity to NOLA while still enjoying outdoor activities.
Update after 2 week stay: it rained pretty good and we ended up with swamp front property. Thankfully we were on an improved site with a raised concrete pad so we only lost our fire pit to the swamp. Other sites were underwater for a day or more.

We camped here in July and found it to be completely empty. Almost frighteningly so. Obviously, the heat of midsummer is not the ideal time for this area, but the beach was nice and the location close to a cute town and the causeway was great. The bathhouse closest to us was very outdated. However, there were other more modern bathhouses in the park with AC, laundry facilities, and clean showers. If you are looking to call somewhere in the New Orleans area, this is a great spot.

October is definitely the best time of year to go fishing. Just make sure that you keep an eye on the size fish, and if you're going to catch and release like my boys did take lots of pictures, they had a great time, and these are some of the biggest fish they've ever caught from the pier, just using shrimp and cut Bait. Big drum were hitting them like crazy. They even came home with a few Nice red fish. My voice go fishing about 2 to 3 nights a week. And have been sharing pictures with, like the ones shared here. Lake Pontchartrain is an estuary and one of the largest inland saltwater bodies in the United States. It is ringed with parks and provides habitat for numerous species of animals and plants. The lake is famous for its long, straight bridge over water, which connects it to the Gulf of Mexico.

I absolutely LOVE Lake Pontchartrain!!!! It really is something special. It looks just like I’m at the ocean! It is one of the most beautiful places in NOLA. I usually grab some gator bites and a burger from one of the restaurants on Lakeshore, and sit for hours…just being. It is a great place for fishing, running, walking, jet skiing, boating, reading, gathering…ANYTHING!! Most tourists miss out on this place when they are in New Orleans…that’s probably a good thing. It’s a really cool place. I had never seen an estuary this large…WOW!! A cool bit of information I learned about Lake Pontchartrain: any life in the Gulf of Mexico can be potentially be found in the water, and it is only about 14 feet at its deepest. Go hang out, you will love it!!!!

We drove over this amazing lake going to New Orleans and it was BREATHTAKING!! I’ve never seen a lake this big. It reminded me of driving over international waters going to the beach!!
Lisa Cole — Google review
Geographically speaking, Abita and Chafunkta are “across the pond”, making travel to these breweries from NOLA either prohibitively uber expensive or requiring a rental car – maybe a bus if those exist. We did zero research on the bus thing. I’m sure you’re thinking, it’s just a pond or a lake and there’s a road right through it! That is Lake Pontchartrain.
Lake Pontchartrain is a large, brackish estuary located in southeastern Louisiana. It is not a true lake, but rather a tidal basin that is connected to the Gulf of Mexico. Lake Pontchartrain is also one of the largest wetlands in the United States!
The bridge you see on Google maps is the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway. Which is one of the longest bridges in the world at 24 miles long! Quite the feat of engineering in our humble opinion. Driving 24 miles, in what can only be described as open water, is just as daunting as driving the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Also if you have to pee, well, you’re SOL on that front because with the exception of emergency pull overs, there is no where to stop.

Gigantic lake...so wide, you cant see the other side from the shore! Lots of shelters surrounding it for gatherings and picnics, plus a nice walking walk and nice paved roads for bike riding with several restaurants nearby on the Metairie side.
The neatest thing was taking a car across the causeway, especially when its slightly foggy, it's like driving thru a cloud. Just make sure you're not on an empty tank! Worth a detour!

Private swamp refuge offering narrated boat tours with alligators & other wildlife sightings.
Incredible tour through and through.
Starting with the pick-up in New Orleans, our bus driver, Byron, did an incredible job entertaining and educating us the entire ride, pointing out local landmarks.
Then throughout the boat portion, our tour guide, Bishop, provided humorous stories, interesting facts, and fed the alligators twice (so both sides of the boat could enjoy the feeding frenzy).
He passed around an alligator head, osteoderms of turtles, and even let us hold a live 2.5 year baby alligator.
This was my first swamp tour in Louisiana, and I enjoyed the entire journey through and through. Would highly recommend!

Such a wonderful experience for the whole family! Our captain, Tom, was so fun and full of wisdom. He cheerfully shared his wealth of knowledge and answered everyone’s questions, no matter how silly. We saw plenty of gators, raccoons, birds, & turtles. No wild hogs this time but the captain said they were seen the day before our tour. Their gift shop was full of unique items not seen in other area gift shops and the staff are all very warm & friendly. Plenty of space for large groups and small groups alike, lots of shaded areas with picnic tables and seating (with industrial size fan to help keep everyone cool), clean facilities and grounds, and they’re working on constructing a new, much larger building that when done, will make this place even more spectacular. We had a great time and highly recommend doing your tours here!

Took a trip to New Orleans to do something different and weather was really bad downtown, but clear outside of town, last minute found Cajun pride swamp tours online gave them a call and they said if we could make it there in time we’d have a ride to get on…. It takes a little longer to get to them on Highway 10 then the map shows but all in all it’s super easy to find and make it to their parking lot. Everyone there was super nice and it was fun to get out on the boat relax for a little bit and watch them talk about the gators. Weather was a bit cooler so some of the bigger gators were not out but we still had fun running around the swamp and seeing some of the midsize gators come to the boat to get fed. It did sprinkle a little while we were out there but the boat has a top on it which is probably great in the full sun and it kept the rain off. Fun trip and guide was really good with everyone. Fun to hold the baby gator. They are rebuilding their facilities that were destroyed during a hurricane so they use a temporary building for the gift shop and check in areas but the land is owned by them so you’re not competing with other boats out there on the property. Would recommend as a fun stop.

Staff was very nice and accommodating. Capt Dustin was extremely nice as well. This is well worth the $$ spent. Tour is roughly 1.5 hours and features alligators, wild pigs, raccoons, soft shelled turtles and more. This is pretty touristy and commercialized. I deducted 1 star, like others have stated, they feed the animals marshmallows and such, so they don’t act like totally wild animals, instead of being spooked by the boats and humans, they chase the boat. I get it, they have to have the draw to get people excited about coming, no hate from me on it, but I would have rather seen the tour with the animals acting like they normally would. (Doubt we would have seen the wild pigs though). Great job guys and I would recommend to others.

From the beginning to the end of this adventure, everything was perfect. Very entertaining, and we had the opportunity to touch/carry a baby gator! Pretty cool!
I would recommend to bring a mosquito spray, pants and long sleeve. Just because there is so many mosquitoes.

Informative and something different to do. It was a cloudy cool day so beware that gators this time of year, end of Nov, are not out moving much or at all. We were lucky in that we saw 4 on the noon excursion. Guide was great and down with the reality of not seeing much.
Kevin Stewart — Google review
I gave them five stars even though we didn't see many alligators. I was there as part of a tour group. We had gone to Mardi Gras parades the day before and it's still cool outside this time of year and the alligators are just starting to come out of hibernation. So, of course that is not something the tour company can control. But it was a beautiful sunny day which made the boat ride pleasant. Tom was our guide and he was humorous and knowledgeable.

This tour was fun and informative! The driver and the tour guide both did a great job of keeping up the energy of the group and keeping us entertained during the drive to the plantation. The swamp tour was full of wildlife and I'm talking up close and personal! Alligators, wild pigs, raccoons and turtles all within a few yards. We were even able to hold a baby gator! The best way to spend a day in New Orleans!!!

It's been a few years, actually, but better late than never I suppose.
Went on the tour with my wife and a close friend. We had a boat to ourselves, but the guide gave us an enthusiastic ride nonetheless. A fantastic way to spend an afternoon - entertaining and educational. Very highly recommended!

A great time. The captain was so informative and made sure everyone saw plenty of gators before we went back in. All the people that worked there were very friendly. Kids really enjoyed it too and got to hold a baby gator on the boat. Price was reasonable for the length of the boat ride. Will definitely come back if we are in the area.

This was one of the best Swamp Tours I've been on lots of gators and what I really wanted to see were the wild boars and I got to see them. Our entire group loved it. I definitely recommend. BTW They also offer $30 RT Transportation. That was a tour in itself.

Captain Tom took us on an incredible tour of the swamps of Louisiana!! You get way up close and personal with all the wildlife including alligators. wild boars, raccoons, and birdlife. Captain Tom has spent 40 years chasing the dream, and he shares his experiences in an exciting way. it is way fun for the whole family!!!

I would highly recommend doing the Swamp Tour with Cajun Encounters when in New Orleans. My girlfriends and I had a fun time and our swamp tour guide, Captain Pat was such a delight. Very informative and also fun, wouldn't have picked anyone else. We got to see a lot of wildlife such as many different alligators, birds, raccoons & wild boars. I think our time at the swamp was well used up very well & it was entertaining the whole entire time, super friendly staff as well at the gift shop and in general. 10/10.!

What an awesome experience. Our tour guide was easy-going, informative, funny, and a blast to hang out with. His banter during the tour was a bigger highlight than the gators. If you’re in New Orleans, spend a day with these people. You won’t regret it.

We had a great time! The captain was a great guide and was very knowledgeable. He had some great stories to! We saw lots of gators and other wildlife. It was a beautiful ride! At the end of the ride we got to hold a baby gator. Would definitely recommend! Plus this tour is a lot cheaper than the tours in New Orleans.

Amazing tour. The captain was informative and funny. They have a zip line and transportation to take you to the swamp and back to your hotel. We also held a baby alligator which was the highlight of the tour. Definitely worth it. 👌. Would recommend the morning tour. And shout out to our amazing bus driver. He was funny and informative as well.
Forgot to add they have swamp camp for kids too. That was interesting.

We enjoyed our Cajun Pride Swamp Tour very much! The guide was affable and filled the tour with humor. We saw about 25 alligators and learned there are no crocodiles in the US. We also saw raccoons and wild hogs.
We came during the heatwave but fortunately it rained just before our tour so it was cooler than the rest of the day. This is a great way to get a taste of the swamp while visiting New Orleans or Baton Rouge.

Amazing experience in August! We visited Whitney Plantation in the morning and the we had swamp tour in the afternoon, they're very near. Our captain easy very funny and kind. A real exiting way to experience the Louisiana Bayou and see alligators and racoon.

Taking a trip with Capt Tom is a great experience. He’s knowledgeable about the eco system and can explain it very well. Since it’s gotten cold the big gators are not very mobile so that was a bummer but He’s got a tank and has 3-4 baby alligators so he brings them along and you get to hold the. A very cool experience! We saw lots of wild Pigs and even 3 piglets less than a month old. Lots of Raccoons you get to see how they all jockey for the feed he throws out. He explained the difference in how you make money with selling hides which requires a license. They bought the swamp land and manage it themselves. Mention AAA get a few dollars off. I had done the plantation tour many years ago skipping it this time.
T. R. — Google review
This swamp tour focuses on the history of the area (like they all usually do) and they tell the story of the town of Frenier that was wiped off the map. There was a lot to look at. Racoons and alligators were the main attraction, but wild hogs did make an appearance which was delightful. This place seems to get a lot of tours, and busses come out brimming with people, so there must be some deal going on there.

Absolutely captivating swamp tour in the bayou of New Orleans! The thrill of encountering wild animals in their natural habitat was unmatched. Knowledgeable guides provided fascinating insights, making it an educational adventure. From alligators to raccoons, the diverse wildlife sightings were a photographer's dream. A must-do experience for nature enthusiasts and those seeking an authentic taste of Louisiana's untamed beauty.

Dived into the heart of Louisiana with Cajun Pride Swamp Tours and let me tell you, it was a wild ride minus the seatbelts! This isn’t your grandma’s boat trip unless she’s into gators, tales taller than the trees, and Captain Brandon’s legendary swamp wisdom. The man’s a swamp whisperer, cracking jokes while casually pointing out critters that’d make a grown man squeal. Comfortable boat? Check. Nature’s untamed beauty on full display? Double check. Learning something new without realizing it because you're too busy being entertained? Triple check.
If you're itching for adventure or just want to see if alligators are real, book a tour and ask for Captain Brandon. It's half education, half entertainment, and all unforgettable. Cajun Pride Swamp Tours isn’t just a 5-star experience—it’s a “why isn’t this everywhere?” kind of good.

Really close to the Highway. Super easy to get to. The parking lot is big enough for a tractor trailer and several tour buses. We called ahead and were told to pay over the phone. When we got there, a pair of really nice ladies greeted us in the gift shop and gave us our colored tickets, which they stated corresponded with colored flag on the boat we would be riding. There were alligators in the water near the shore before the tour even left. They chopped up some chicken and we loaded onto the boats and took off. There was some nice shade that covered the waiting area. Now, we went on just the right day....Cloudy and 70 degrees. They stated that there are no alligators to be seen during the winter hibernation months....December, January and February. The water is too cold and they go into hibernation mode where their heart beats only once every 4 minutes. Conversly, if you go when it is too hot, you may not see alot of alligators because they dig deep into the cool mud in the dhade.l amd do not always come out.The alligators are trained to come around the boats because they get corn, marshmallows, and chicken. There are a ton on bird feeders that attract a ton of birds although I did not see any rare or exotic birds. The boat is covered and has gasoline outboard motors that are very quiet. Now, when you get on the boat, make sure you sit on the outer seat at the front (the side opposite the driver where the entry ramp is) Sitting in the front gives you the best vantage point to view all of the wildlife at the landings. The tour was about 1.5 hours long and the excitement began to wear off on some of the riders. There were about 40 people on the boat with us. We were the 2:15 tour on a Saturday. (busy) The driver was personable and knowledgeable and gave some intersection facts. Definitely recommend!

I felt my “cityness” melt as Captain Tom regaled us with stories of each gator we met. Pigs. Raccoons. Turtles. It was amazing scenery, but Tom really helped me shift away from my preciousness and embrace the raw joy of the bayou. It was the best, I hope I get to come back some day.

Didn't know New Orleans had casinos, but I'm glad I found this one. Great place and great service. There are plenty of old-school slots and tables games. Had a great time. A must visit in New Orleans

Had a great time, brief as it was. Didn't arrive till after 11pm, so I was already running on fumes. Luckily, though valet service had ended, we were able to park in the free lot and hitch a ride on the shuttle.
Getting signed up and ready to go was super easy, and I was able to quickly get rolling. Managed to come out on top, too!
The restaurants were closed, as far as I know, so can't speak for the food, and I wasn't there long enough to get a drink (I was literally in and out).
Hopefully I'll be back soon!

We actually had a good time. We didn't explore the whole boat but when we arrived we went through the main deck on to the casino floor where we played all night and it was actually a very very pleasant experience. If I'm ever back in New Orleans I will definitely stop back there again because I really did enjoy myself.

I feel like patrons are bank rolling the new building their own selves. Next to no comps the only up thing there is free drinks. Plus the machines are missing behaving. They made me think it was me until one patron warned another that a machine they were sitting at malfunctioned. Nope ill drive to Gulfport I won't be returning there.

This is the absolute worst casino you could ever visit. The drink service is horrible. they don't even put actual spirits in the the drinks. The comps are horrible. If you can can get a drink in TC it will be soda water. They have one lazy server per floor and no bar. They are happy to take you money but don't expect any hospitality or service. They don't even have have cashiers working to cash tickets. The one person working is always on break.

Enjoyed the Casino and all there employees! Everyone is friendly with exceptional service . The buffet isn't open but they still have a section where you can get daily seafood specials! They keep the ENTIRE place sanitized. There is always someone coming around sweeping, wiping machines every five to 10 minutes. This is still my FAVORITE CASINO in Louisiana!

We had an option to go to Harrahs Casino or Treasure Chest. We decided to go to Treasure Chest it's a sister casino to Sam's Town that was the reason I chose Treasure Chest. The staff & shuttle drivers were very friendly. Some of the slots were loose & some were very tight. The waitress kept the drinks coming & they weren't watered down. I would recommend this casino.
Lynette Smith-Maxie — Google review
I've been there twice, and lost both times. I played high limit so it was not a pleasant visit. Parking is away from the casino so you have to take a shuttle,it was good no wait. I would recommend a different place to gamble.

They don’t allow their overnight employees to have water. They offer free coffee and water but are now not supplying the count room employees water, and are counting and keeping track of their Cups of coffee. They won’t let them have water unless they bring it from home now. Disgusting company. You’re a million dollar casino who neglects employees and now won’t even allow them to have water. Absolutely pathetic.

I don’t come here to gamble . I come for the nature . I see beautiful birds and amazing sunsets . The cats that hang here make it all the more better . I love taking my dog here for walks , if you come early enough the bathrooms are clean . Police patrol regular which makes it safer . It’s not the best place for quiet all the time . It tends to get loud which takes away from the nature experience but nonetheless I do enjoy coming here to photograph the wildlife that I see .

The promotions say that any money you lose on your first visit will be credited to your card if you return for a second visit. I did that, but what they don't tell you is that offer expires very quickly and if you don't know that....

The Treasure Chest Casino is a riverboat casino that is located at the end of Williams Blvd on the edge of Lake Pontchartrain. At night it is beautifully lit with many lights. There is a very large parking area across from it where shuttles run back and forth.
(If staying at the Hilton and have nice weather, it is a nice walk over to the casino.)
I think that some expect a very large “Las Vegas style” casino....this is a riverboat...and is a nice casino and atmosphere.
The casino consisted of three floors....was nice and clean, had many games, slots, and table games, a Caribbean showroom, and the Vista buffet. The restrooms were also nice and clean.
A great asset to Boyd Gaming and to Treasure Chest Casino was J. JoDon, the Executive Casino Host. He was professional, courteous, very nice and friendly.....with a wonderful personality.
I was also very impressed with the excellent customer service and the friendliness and helpfulness from every employee/staff person I encountered during my visits.
While playing video poker some couples came in that were “regulars”.....were such a delight!
They quickly became friends and assisted me with so much advice and info for an upcoming wedding.
Following another visit, my family and I visited the buffet....delicious! All the food “stations” had a great selection and variety of food, were displayed well, and employees were all smiling, pleasant, and helpful. The food was fresh, hot, and seasoned well.
(I especially liked the pot roast that day.)
Our server was excellent...also very nice and friendly...very attentive.
Although I can not say that I was a winner at the machines, I would say that I did “win” by meeting some of the nicest and friendliest people that I have ever met.

The slots at this place are tighter than newborns foreskin.. can litterally walk in and play 200$ in less than 20 mins and that's even playing sparingly it was ridiculous to be honest. The slot selection is also limted and the only decent slots that pay out are all being hoarded by people who done lost their money or just playing low bets to try and get their money back* don't blame them* and actually even though the older machines can't be programmed to be as tight as the new ones im sure they had them set to the highest, tightest settings they could achieve. Will not even set foot near that place again.
Historic plantation home with exhibits, interactive demonstrations & tours from costumed guides.
Excellent tour! Very informative! The tour guide was pleasant and she was knowledgeable about the house and grounds.
You can come early and walk around the grounds on a self-guided tour of the slave quarters and the school.
There's also a gift shop and public restrooms which were clean.
Would definitely do the tour again!

Wow, just got back from this incredible place and I'm still buzzing about it! First off, the information on display is absolutely mind-blowing, and the way they've set it up? Super interactive. It's not just your typical walk-and-look kind of museum. You get to really dive into the exhibits, which makes learning about everything so much more fun. And let me tell you about Beverly – she's the real deal. Her way of guiding us through the history was so engaging, it felt like stepping back in time. She had stories, facts, you name it, all delivered with this energy that just draws you in.
The highlight for me? Their entire section dedicated to the slave revolt. This isn't just a footnote in their history presentation; it's a full-blown, deeply respectful tribute. They've listed out all the names of the slaves that were involved, which hits hard and makes it all so real. It’s a powerful reminder of the intense history that unfolded right where you're standing. The way they've handled the topic of slavery is commendable – no glossing over or downplaying here. They present it as the significant, impactful part of history it is. If you're thinking about visiting, just do it. It's not only an eye-opener but an experience that's worth every penny and more. 🌟👍

The Destrehan Plantation tour was amazing. Our tour guide, Ms. Beverly, was so personable and knowledgeable about all the information about the plantation. She made the tour worthwhile. The home itself is a magnificent structure. The property is beautiful, but it was used as a prison for 200 slaves in its distant past. I believe everyone should visit this place. It holds a significant and priceless place of value to the history of the south and our nation.

Who wouldn't want to be a slave after this tour?
The tour guide made it sound perfectly delightful...work at this beautiful home (designed by a free black man) until quitting time at 3pm, then go to your second job--or work at home, you do get free room and board after all--where you can save your earnings and buy your freedom!
I read the other reviews with one particular complaint about the avoidance of the word "slave," and subsequently the issue being corrected. I found it insulting the use of the word "enslaved." It's like saying the taboo word "slave" will make tourists run screaming from the property.
The tour is entirely about the house (the structure) and the families who occupied it. Not it being on a plantation, and not one word about the slave revolt.
If you're into architecture, take this your.
If you want to learn more about the history of slavery and the revolt, skip this tour. It'll make you feel marginalized again.
One star for tour guide wearing the costume in the Nola heat.

We attended a private party on the pavilion by the horse barn. It is covered with tables and overhead fans with bathrooms close. It's a great place to have a party.
We did not tour the house but the grounds were beautiful with lots of outbuildings. It would be a wonderful home to visit if you are looking for a plantation home to visit.
Debbie Quinn — Google review
I didn't take many photos hear as I had to sit out the self-guided portion. However, the tour of the home was awesome. The guide was super detailed although a little just straight fact based. Kind of like they are just used to telling the same thing over and over and it's a little bit on auto-pilot now.
The grounds are beautiful and the gift shop/entrance and exit really is a vibe all it's own. Very whistle stoppish. Recommended for a slow paced relaxing and educational experience.

We really enjoyed our trip to Destrehan Plantation today. Our tour guide Beverly is full of wonderful information that ties in so many aspects of the history of this home, the area and our country. She brought history to life for me with her masterful story telling. I have never enjoyed a tour as much as I did this one. And I have been all around the country. Thank you so much Beverly. We also had the pleasure of learning about the slave revolt of 1811 from amother gentleman. I'm so sorry I've forgotten his name. If you are anywhere in the area do not miss stopping by for a tour. It is well worth the money.

We went on a ridiculously hot day in July. Our guide, Emma, was exceptionally knowledgeable and gracious. She provided an aspect of history not taught in schools, including geopolitical issues and melting pot customs that contributed to this unique area! The issue of enslaved people was respectfully addressed and they have made efforts to acknowledge those individuals.
It was easy to get around and fascinating to explore all the buildings.
Bonus for the Jefferson document! What a surprise!

Decided to stop here for a spring break excursion and can say it was definitely gorgeously engaging and truly does captivate the essence of how slavery and the history has shaped Louisiana. Jim; our guide was so witty and a great joy to chat with!! He made the whole experience so educational along with truly telling the story of the history within Destrehan. Definitely recommend this as a stop for the family. It was also really awesome seeing the interpretation of the 1811 slave revolt within their own exhibit on site and some interesting native pieces. It makes my heart soar seeing native american representation.

The plantation is lovely. We went on Saturday 4/3 and took the 1pm tour. The staff were nice and welcoming. Our guide Allen (I think) was knowledgeable and informative. He gave a lot of information but was short, precise and interactive. I appreciated that. We asked questions and he knew the answers. We visited some out buildings but sadly couldn’t explore the whole plantation because it started raining cats and dogs. We went into another exhibit about slave revolt and there was Ms. Julie who was the guide there or facilitator. She seemed very passionate about the subject and very knowledgeable. Having said that she started talking like a boring professor and looked at us like unruly students. We were literally sitting/standing there looking at her afraid of getting in trouble. We had another engagement but her train would not come to a station that we could get off at! She was going hour by hour of the slave revolt. We quite literally had to make an escape. She turned to the last of our group and said with disdain “ you have to leave?” Yes ma’am thinking I’ll get in trouble for leaving the classroom!!? My goodness! I took a star off because of that. While I appreciate the knowledge, I appreciate keeping it short, interesting and precise even more. Also if we are not interesting in knowing that many details, we should not be made to feel guilty. Allen told us shortly about the slave revolt and it was wonderful. That was the main tour and we enjoyed that thoroughly. The forced lecture - not so much!
This plantation is closest to French quarter at about it 30 min and the price is acceptable. I would highly recommend it but steer clear of Ms. Julie unless you have an hour or two extra to spare !

Great information, very interactive, and Beverly was very engaging. Worth every penny to see this place! They had an entire museum dedicated to the slave revolt, including a list of all the names of slaves that were there. Slavery played a prominent role in this home, and it was discussed well, not glossed over, or made to look like it was not a big deal.
The office may not be much to look at... But we had an excellent time with the family! The air boat was a fun experience and we all were able to feed the big alligators. Had thirteen in our party and the boat was still fast.

Wow. I love the intimate tours but this airboat tour for us Iowans turned out to be fantastic. We took the 7 man tour boat and our Guide Loren was amazing. It was so much fun. We learned tons of facts, saw birds, swamp, and tons of gators. The gators know these boats and get up close and personal yet maintain thier wild nature hissing and hiding and sinking sometimes when we get near.
Would highly recommend.

We booked this tour in January, the off season for alligators and we were concerned we would not see many wildlife. Although the BIG gators had went into hibernation, Loren, was able to show us multiple alligators up to 5 ft and was awesome at spotting them for us. He was able to get 2 of them up to our boat which was really cool! Loren did a great job educating us about everything we wanted to know about the alligators, swamp, and other wildlife in the area. We spotted for us a wild pig with her piglets which was amazing to see as well as a 20# nutria rat! I would highly recommend Swamp Adventures.

We went at the right time, but be mindful of the local temperatures. If it's too hot or too cold, gators will hide to avoid the extremes. That said, I bet it's still a fun ride with a knowledgeable tour guide.
