I'll never travel to Vancouver without this trip planner again
Olympic National Park, a sprawling 922,000-acre nature reserve in Washington state, is a haven of diverse ecosystems. From snow-capped mountains and ancient rainforests to rugged coastline, the park offers an unparalleled variety of landscapes. Popular among hikers and backpackers, it exudes a serene ambiance that captivates visitors.
I was here back in mid October, was a exceptional national park. It has many different environments mountains, lush forests, and coastal beaches in the west coast, all of which are well worth exploring. It involves a lot of driving to get around the park it’s huge n ya have to drive around the perimeters to get anywhere, the Mountain View’s we’re my favorite but it’s highly debatable, the coast n forests might be a better bet in the winter, such a short drive from Seattle this park offers a little bit of everything highly recommend.

Wonderful experience. The visitors centres receive warmly and are very helpful and guide each one to suit their taste and capacity. Everywhere you can see huge trees. Tree shades help you in refreshing you. Almost all trails are well defined and directed. However restrooms are very limited. Very few restaurants. Entrance by car on weekends and holidays , may have to wait a lot of time. Better to be early birds, so that you can enter without wait time. Summer time will be more enjoyable.

One of the best and most diverse national parks in the United States. From mountains, to waterfalls, to rain forests, to the ocean! The beauty of this park is unreal. I recommend taking your time exploring because there are a ton of great trails and views scattered throughout the different areas. We spent 2 days here and saw most of the popular attractions. You could easily spend 3 days though. Make sure to map out your trip as the entire park is huge. There’s not a lot of cell service, so I suggest downloading Google Maps beforehand. September is a great time to visit! It’s not as crowded as the summer months, but you still have a chance for sun and warmer temperatures.

Fantastic national park with so many different climates and geographical sites to see. There are trails for all levels. We especially loved the Switchback trail and Ruby beach. It overall wasn’t too crowded and we were able to see many areas of the park within our trip!
Sarah Carney — Google review
Beautiful park. We explored ruby beach and beach 4. Both offered beautiful scenic views and places to explore. Beach 4 has tide pools and we found awesome creatures. We were unable to visit the hall of mosses due to the 2 hour wait time. Even then, Olympic did not disappoint.
Kyra Wagner — Google review
The rain forest was so beautiful. The moss made the trees look ancient. It was almost like being transported into a whole other dimension. I still can't believe what my eyes were seeing. It was simply enchanting. From the large trees to the smallest mushrooms, so much life is happening here. I have to come back again soon. One day was not enough!
Tami Davis — Google review
Completely different trip for us, I have never been in a such beautiful forest before. 2 miles hiking tools is almost 3 hrs. Full of fun and nice surprise!
Yue He — Google review
This national park is also very beautiful similar to other national parks of Washington. This is huge national park and ideally one day is not just enough to explore the park. There is a good amount of driving involved if you have to come all parts of the park. Within this park you explore mountains, you can explore rainforest and you can explore beaches. One park gives you taste of so many different landscapes

A Park Unlike Any Other
The northeast coast has to be one of the most stunning and beautiful places in this country. The beaches and forest are just jaw-dropping.
The park is made of a bunch of entry points into the park with some being more popular than others. Hurricane Ridge and Hoh Rainforest are the top most visited. We either went in before 6am or after 4pm with no issue on crowds.
The 101 is not much of a scenic drive until you hit the coast.
Before going anywhere check their website. The park has been battered with weather and fires causing sections of the park to be closed for days at a time.
Van Wilder — Google review
One of my favorite National Parks. It has everything: big waterfalls, cool wildlife, mountains, ocean, lush forests… I love it. One of my favorite things to do is get lost in the moss covered forests away from everyone and enjoy one of the most peaceful places you’ll ever be in.
Mick Dees (nomad.mick) — Google review
Beautiful place. Rain forest was fascinating. Went on beach which was wild and amazing. Its not one for sun bathing however. Saw the crater lake which was beautiful.
Mary Rasa — Google review
Amazing national park with so much diversity in landscapes! We were able to climb to the top of mountain ridges, see the sunset over the beach/ocean and wander through the humid jungle/forest landscape.
Highly recommend: Hurricane Ridge Trail. Note: if you're going during the weekdays, they have the road to the trailhead closed off to traffic (it's open on weekends though) so we had to hike an additional 1.5 mile each way from the visitor center parking lot to the trailhead. This made the hike that's usually 3 miles, a 6 mile roundtrip hike. It's quite a steep hike but the views are worth it!
Also recommend Rialto Beach and just hanging on the beach around sunset! Beautiful beach for dogs, kids, skipping rocks, reading a book etc.
Not so recommend: we weren't super blown away by Marymere Falls, Lake Crescent or Hoh Rainforest. They were definitely beautiful but paled in comparison to the other sights Olympic had to offer. If you only had time for one, I would recommend the Hoh Rainforest.
Tracy Sung — Google review
Olympic National Park in Washington is a must-visit natural wonder. Its breathtaking diversity ranges from lush rainforests to rugged mountain peaks and pristine coastal beaches. The Hoh Rainforest, with its towering trees and moss-covered landscapes, is truly enchanting. Explore the towering Olympic Mountains, home to glaciers and alpine meadows, offering breathtaking vistas. The park's rugged coastline along the Pacific Ocean is an awe-inspiring sight. With countless hiking trails and wildlife encounters, Olympic National Park is a serene and majestic escape that will leave you in awe of the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

So many lovely spots to stop and explore on this whole trip. Plenty of beaches, hiking trails, scenive view points. Lots of wildlife. One of my favorite national parks for the variety of things to see. The greenery is just beautiful. Never got tired of exploring. Not super crowded like the more popular national parks like yellowstone. Was nice to have our own pace to see things. Locals are friendly. Rain, sun, cloudy, foggy, snowy. Just beautiful in all the seasons we have seen there! If you want something different, definatley the route to go. You never know what you will find! Plenty of camping options.
Cas Mr — Google review
A ton of Americans have no idea that there is a rainforest in Washington (or even in the US), but tucked away in the corner of the state is a veritable wilderness of lush forests covered in moss and towered over by Sitka spruce trees - some around 800 years old.
The mountains are breathtaking the first time you see them, so impossibly massive it feels like they may just swallow you whole. Driving over the floating bridge will catch you off guard even if you’re prepared for it, especially during the winter when the mountains are cloaked in white.
You are submersed in dense forest almost everywhere in this region. The forest floors are soft soil, pine needles, and ferns. Fallen trees gather moss, fungi, and fascinating wildlife, like the banana slug. Herds of elk are often seen grazing and black bears browse the black berry patches. Those black berries are amazing.
All of this is perched on cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, where a walk on the beach can feel otherworldly in the early morning fog. Tide pools teem with thousands of sea anemones and the sea star population flourishes. If you are really lucky, you may see one of the many species of whale, porpoise or dolphin that navigate the shores on migration, or a seal or sea otter hunting for a meal in the waves. Each beach is different, with completely new and amazing things to discover. Tiny life in every inch, you just need to slow down and look.
The human population is drastically smaller than the Seattle-Tacoma area, and that’s the best part. This is the best place to seek restorative solitude and or explore the endless trails through the forests and mountains without your feet even touching pavement. The climate here is comfortable year round, parts remaining verdant and lush through the coldest of months. It is truly one of the greatest treasures that this country has to offer, unlike anywhere else in the world.

Such a beautiful park with tons of shaded areas and space for the family. During the summer they have lifeguards. Plenty of picnic tables and you have a park next to it plus plenty of hiking and paved trails

I really enjoyed hiking to the top of Lassen Peak as it offers a lot of great views along the way and the signage throughout the hike is very informative! Although it was foggy, I really enjoyed it regardless! I recommend coming early as this hike will take up between 3-4 hours to finish!

Epic hike. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and snowshoes/similar snow gear.
You can see Mount Shasta in the distance and the volcanic tundra for miles around. Best view in northeastern California.

Summiting Lassen Peak is exciting. It's a relatively moderate to strenuous hike with a relatively steady initial climb, a couple of switch-backs around 10,000ft and a final scramble to get to the summit! It's about 5 miles in total from the parking lot and back and around 2000ft in elevation gain. The views once you get up to the peak are certainly spectacular since the summit itself is at around 10,500ft, pretty high when compared to other nearby peaks. There are views of the valley and Bumpass hell as you climb. Recommend lots of water and electrolytes for the hike!

Lovely hike, enjoyed the trees and birds for the first mile the best.
Micah Lang — Google review
I did this hike on 11/17/2019.
Lassen Peak isn’t easy hike because a lot of elevation changes,
Only a little over 5 miles RT.
But it starts from 8,363 to 10,321 feet, each of the mile is almost 1,000 feet.
Good workout.... trail is so nice, well maker, very detail,(thank to Lassen park).
Spectacular ,panoramic,uninterrupted view.......
Up only haft mile, I’m able to see 3 lakes,(Helen lake, Jupiter lake, and one more but I don’t know the name of this lake).
Up one mile,I’m able to see Cinder Cone.
Mile and a half up, I’m able to see Lava bed,
And up to the top, I’m able to see Mount Shasta.
On the way down,I’m able to see sunset in Lassen National Park.
Love this trip a lot.
I will come back to Lassen Volcanic for different hike.

Been on the list for a long time. Hiked on July 20.
We went up to the top of Brokeoff Mountain the day before. Much more difficult and less traveled than this trail.
Conditions were beautiful the day we went. Followed suggestions of other and got on the mountain early while the snow was firm. Bottom third was covered in snow. We used trekking poles and micro spikes and felt comfortable in the snow. Those in tennis shoes were slipping and falling. Some places would be dangerous slipping around.
Once you get to the switchbacks, it’s easy peasy. Very groomed and even has stairs! The top was gorgeous. We came to the peak just as a marriage proposal was happening! She said yes!!
Be sure to make the scramble to the actual highest peak if you want to be on the top top.
Great hike.
Charene Robinson — Google review
Climbing Lassen Peak is a nice, non-technical hike on a well maintained path. We did this in July and there were only a couple of very short patches of snow on the trail up, and the walkable snowfield at the top. There was no rock hopping until the 100-yd summit scramble up from the large level top area where most hikers stopped. The view from the top is very nice, and Shasta 70 miles away dominates the northern view.
Parking was easy at the trailhead at 9am on a Friday, and the trail wasn't too crowded. We spent an hour at the summit and were down by 1pm.
Bob Frommer — Google review
Hike is only about 5 miles round trip but the 2.5 miles up include 2000 feet of elevation gain. First mile is the tough one as you're getting acclimated to the elevation. After that it's just a series of simple switchbacks to the top and a short scramble at the top. Lots of folks on the trail on a Friday, fortunately almost everyone wore masks. There was a large patch of snow at the top in late July but it does not hinder the hike at all. You can even see Shasta from the top.

The Sundial Bridge is an iconic pedestrian overpass that spans the Sacramento River and resembles a cruise ship on land. Designed by famous Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava in 2004, the bridge's glass deck offers spectacular views of the river and its surroundings. Lit up at night, the bridge's glass path provides an enchanting experience for visitors who enjoy peaceful walks in nature.
I loved this place! This is a nice place for peaceful walks surrounded by nature. The people is really polite and friendly in the Sundial Bridge shop and coffee as well. I was impressed about how much they are encouraging awareness 'avoiding fires in the forests.' Well done! Taking care of our planet is extremely important.

We had a really great time at the Sundial Bridge. Walking on the river walk, the Turtle Bay Museum and checking out the bridge which is very cool.
The Sacramento River has great trails with wildlife all around. The trail near the bridge includes a beautiful garden with educational stops for everyone.
The Turtle Bay Museum and it's grounds were fun for all of us, including my fifteen year old daughter. She interacted with birds in the Parrot House and butterflies, and zipped on the zip-line in the playground.
I'm sure her favorite part was the butterflies though, as we spent well over an hour in the butterfly house.
In the museum there was a hand on educational room that has really fun activities about prehistoric flying reptiles, Pterosaurs.
A whole room displaying replicas of the items discovered in King Tutankhamun.
Pretty fascinating.
There is a cafe that is currently being remodeled but Mosaic Restaurant was open.
If you are unfamiliar with reading it's very hot in the summer months and stays pretty warm until October. I recommend sunblock and if your heat sensitive the indoor part of the museum and Mosaic restaurants during the summer.
Otherwise visit early or in the evening I know they open at 9:00 a.m. the bridge and trails are always open but not all of the grounds.

Beautiful FREE nature and artsy area, connects with a separate parking area on the other side of the botanical garden that closes earlier, so if you want to stay later this is the side to go in at. I am here in the winter, & the sun went down early so I was able to get some nighttime shots. The restrooms are clean, the park was well-kept except I really wish the botanical garden had better signage, many plants had zero signs telling you what they are.

It's a great looking bridge in Redding, CA. Crosses the Sacramento river. It is a sundial bridge that gives time based on the sun position throughout the day. River is amazing matches well with the floor of the bride. Water is cold, but it definitely keeps you cool in these hot summer days.

I love taking evening strolls here, especially during sunset time. In the summer that is really the best time to walk my dog since the pavement can get too hot during the day. But the evening time is beautiful to see the sunsets over the water. The lights at the bridge are beautiful as well. There are many different paths to take that keeps my walking route interesting. There are usually people along these paths, especially on the bridge taking picture or in the area down below the bridge. The area down below next to the river is super cool, and helps to cool you down on hot days. I have encountered snakes on the path when it starts to get dark, so be careful and aware, especially with pets.

1st time here just passing through town on a road trip but weather was nice enough for a stop. Easy parking & walked from the turtle bay river trail. Weekday afternoon & not crowded at all. Beautiful bridge for walking across. There was fishing boats under & looks like they were definitely having good luck catching. Blue skies with gorgeous clouds but overcast enough where I wasn’t able to see the actual sundial time. Very impressive bridge.

I would recommend going at night...But only if you can afford the somewhat steep $20 ( with a $5 discount for Turtle Bay Members) admission fee to the Glowing Wild event.
According to the flyer,
"Experience Glowing Wild Lantern Festival for the first time at the Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay Exploration park, featuring 10 acres of botanical gardens filled with larger-than-life Asian lantern displays inspired by wildlife and plants from around the world, great for all ages."
Although pretty amazing and colorful during the day...Apparently at night everything is lit up, hence the Glowing in the name. And about the only animal NOT on display was the raccoon...

Forest landscape, marked by a 129-ft. waterfall, for camping, picnicking & hiking.
I have been coming here for most of my life. Burney falls is a fantastic place! There are hiking trails, lake access, and camping areas. The falls itself is an awesome sight.
There is an overlook and then a trail that leads all the way to the bottom. You can get right up to the base of the pool.
This is a place to visit for the whole family. The gift shop has plenty of keepsakes and even soft serve ice cream!
Jon Winkelman — Google review
Managed to check out yet another waterfall during our latest trip, and while Burney Falls wasn't my absolute favorite, it was extremely impressive up close, and has a fun little hiking loop to take if you wanted to.
Got there around 8:15AM, and I HIGHLY recommend getting there as early as possible! We found a parking spot up close to the Falls, but by the time we left (around 9:45AM), there was a line of cars waiting to get in that stretched BOTH directions on the main road in. I'm assuming youre wait would probably be around a half hour at minimum, if there was even space to park to begin with (no idea if they cap the amount of people coming in, so they may well have been holding people until others left).
We had our dogs with us, which unfortunately, are unable to go down to the Falls. You are allowed to have them on the paved lookout platform at the top, but we were told the only other spot dogs were allowed at was a mile-ish long trail down closer to the lake by some campgrounds. We didn't end up doing that trail, and one of our group was fine staying with the dogs while we went down to the Falls, but just know be aware.
The hike down was pretty cool, as you have a view through the trees the entire time. There are some spots with stairs, but most of it is smooth pavement. There are some fairly steep sections, and the general area was covered in mist spray from the Falls, so it was pretty slick. Definitely don't recommend walking down in flip-flops...
The views at the base were crazy! The noise and power the water has was impressive to see and hear. There were some folks taking wedding photos down at the bank of the water, which is a bit of a bummer as they were ruining one of the better angles you could take photos from.
The path away from the Falls followed the water for a bit before coming to an small little half-moon shaped bridge. There aren't steps up and down, and instead it's just a smooth wood deck, so considering how slick it was, it was a bit tricky getting across it. It also felt very rickety once you were on it, haha. From there, it starts heading up hill at a decent clip, and while there are a few spots to see the Falls from here, it's mostly covered by hillside or thick tree lines. There are a few sets of steps once you get towards the top. It then stays fairly level, the view of the source water opening up once you get past the Falls, where you see another, much sturdier bridge you have to cross. Once you cross this, it's just a couple hundred feet or so until you're back to the start viewing area.
It was a nice little scenic hike, and was mostly shaded, so definitely nice and cool. As mentioned before, there are some other areas to explore there, but we ended up just checking out the Falls loop and then leaving.

These moments captured are the bliss to loving the one in a new magical land for the both of us . Both with our own visions and personal experiences to share this memory together is abundance. The abundance of new love and new adventures conquering together. Getting here was easy and the walk from the parking lot was super smooth fast short distance . Anyone can come on the pathway super accessible for all . The epic sounds of the waterfall I wish to capture to replay that ! I miss it

This was my second visit here, so I'm very lucky! I took my friend here to show her the falls. We went on labor day and there was a crowd of course. The line to get in was a little long. The weather was perfect. It does get really chilly as you approach the falls though. The general store is great! There are plenty of restrooms here, right across from the general store. The visitor's center was closed due to the holiday. The falls are a blessing to see. The loop is only a mile or just over a mile. It's not too long and easy to do, worth it. Just An absolute must see! The standby bridge is just down the road too.

Where do I even start. I’ve been wanting to go to Burney Falls since foreverrrr ago and never had the time because it’s far from me… but let me tell you it’s def worth the drive! The entrance is only $10 per car and it’s valid until sunset.😊 If you’re putting it off this is def not a crazy hike it’s more of a misty walk down to the fall. If you do keep going the Falls loop that is all uphill but we’ll worth it.😊 The restrooms are located by the general store. They were really clean. We did get there at 8am and there was hardly people def recommend to be early to avoid the crowds.

Sadly the path leading down to the waterfalls were closed this time. But we have been here before and the waterfalls are huge and a majestic sight to witness. If you are anywhere in the NorCal region, this is a must visit.

It is a beautiful beautiful place to watch the Nature’s roar from above, you can watch people jumping from a hugeee cliff and doing crazy dives!!! It was sooo horrifying but we cheered them from above.
One can hike quarter mile down to foot trail to watch falls from below!

What a marvellous spot to visit!!
Absolutely loved these falls and it was the star attraction of my Mount Shasta trip.
The falls are North facing so from perfect picture point of view, I don't think it makes much difference but mornings are the best time to visit when the sunshine can be on your face in an angle with the falls in the background.
I went on a weekday morning around 9 am, still there were atleast 10 people in the area. Luckily I could have some clicks without people in the background.
Entree Fee is $10 and you should take the Burney loop trail too to view the river, a cute bridge and the falls from the top.

Stunning. Worth a stop. Make sure to hike the loop. The waterfalls are amazing. You can't take your dog on the trails though. We brought a backpack and she rode in that for the 1.2 mile loop. Really really cool.

Mount Shasta is an awe-inspiring destination that offers a challenging yet immensely rewarding mountaineering experience. Our group of five embarked on the journey to conquer its peak, and the sense of accomplishment we felt upon reaching the summit was truly unparalleled.
The ascent was undoubtedly difficult, requiring perseverance, physical endurance, and mental strength. However, the collective determination and support within our group propelled us forward, overcoming every obstacle along the way. The journey tested our limits, but it also pushed us to discover our true capabilities.
The breathtaking views that unfolded as we climbed higher were simply extraordinary. The rugged beauty of Mount Shasta and the surrounding landscapes took our breath away, making every step worth the effort. The panoramic vistas from the summit allowed us to witness nature's grandeur in all its glory, leaving us in awe of the world around us.
The satisfaction we experienced upon reaching the peak of Mount Shasta was indescribable. It was a culmination of our hard work, determination, and unwavering spirit. The sense of accomplishment that washed over us was overwhelming, reminding us of the incredible things we can achieve when we push ourselves beyond our comfort zones.

An inactive volcano, Mount Shasta is the fifth-highest mountain in the Golden State. 14,179 feet tall it dominates the landscape of this area of Northern California. I'm from North Carolina, which boasts the tallest mountain east of the Mississippi (Mount Mitchell, 6684 feet).
Allegedly, the volcano was last active in 1250 AD. No Yelp then to prove it one way or the other.
There is a fabulous vista point not far away on I-5. I'd love to catch it at sunrise but alas, I'm heading south this afternoon and can't stay to get closer to Mount Shasta. Instead, I'll just have to be satisfied with the great views of the mountain from the highway.

Very spiritual place to climb. I highly recommend that Read Julius Evola’s “Meditations on the Peaks: Mountain Climbing as Metaphor for the Spiritual Quest” before you visit. You know as Evola said
“Considering that today the mountain has been physically conquered and that there are few peaks that man has not yet reached, it is important to keep the conquest from being debased and from losing its higher meaning. Thus, it is necessary that the younger generations gradually come to appreciate action at the level of ritual and that they slowly succeed in finding again a transcendent reference point. It is through this reference point that the feats of audacity, risk, and conquest as well as the disciplines of the body, the senses, and the will that are practiced in the immovable, great, and symbolic mountain peaks, lead men to the realization that all in man is beyond himself. In this way these feats will be justified in the context of the spiritual revolutionary movement that is currently emerging among our people.”

The fifth tallest mountain in California and the second highest in the Cascades, second only to Ranier. But what really separates Mt Shasta from the rest of the mountains is literally its separation. The isolation, prominance, and grade make this a remarkable mountain that rises from the local 4,000-14,179.
Any angle you try to climb will be challenging, with slopes that are often 40-45 degrees, covered in scree and talus. But the views from the top of such an isolated mountain are worth it.

Oregon Caves National Monument & Preserve is a fascinating destination for those interested in geology and outdoor exploration. The caves are composed of intricate marble formations, which create huge underground caverns that can be explored through guided tours. The tour lasts about an hour and a half, during which visitors can witness unique calcite formations and learn from knowledgeable guides. It's important to bring warm clothing during the tour as the temperature inside the cave is around 44 degrees Fahrenheit.
Loved It! Climbing down into the caves was awesome! Like only seen in the movies. Even if the park is closed and the main cave is closed, there are still other open caves to explore and a beyond piece full beautiful hike. Please bring a change of cloths and shoes if going in the caves as a rare fungus from in the caves can harm the natural habitat. Aside from that, have a great time!

It's a wonderful educational experience for most all ages. Make sure to read all the info and know before you go. And if you have the energy, hike to the top of the mountain after the cave tour to get an amazing view!

It was a nice cave to visit and very easy. The roads are being repaired. You need to arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled ticket time. Drop off your party way past the parking lot at the visitors center. Google may route to the gate entrance, it's 6 miles past this to the parking lot
It's pitifully small compared to caves back east. Mostly a local attraction.
They have a nice trail continuing in a loop up the mountain with some small canes after you are done with the tour.

The tour was informative. The rock formations in the caves were awesome. I would like to take the candle cave tour sometime. I would also like to stay at the Chateau after they reopen it and hike some of the trails around the caves. After you finish the tour, take the longer trail back to the Visitor Center. The views are spectacular.

I was on a retro tour of my youth and revisited the site after a couple decades. I was pleased to see the place was largely the same as when I was a kid. The lodge where my family and I stayed was closed, but the pool in the back that used to house a breakfast cafe was still accessable, though the ghosts of breakfasts past were all that remained of my memory of the place. Tour was informative, path was user friendly for the most part and even in clostrophbic conditions I still felt fairly uncaged. Wouldn't recommend sandals tho... definitely bring a hoodie

It was an amazing tour. Inside the cave it was about 44 degrees, so be sure to bring a jacket. The tour was about 1 hour and 30 mins and it was truly worth it. The guide we have was very knowledgeable about the caves and went into detail about the formations. There are some low areas (45 inches at the lowest) and some pretty steep stairs. It is very amazing though, I would definitely recommend it.

So if you have experience with other caves, you might not be impressed but otherwise this was a good experience. Heck the road up was half the fun. The cave is illuminated and the 1 mile trip is pretty well laid out and even the 523 stairs weren't too bad though some can be slippery. At 90 minutes, I still would have liked it to be a bit longer to get more pictures. Our guide, Tyler did a fine job telling us the story and history of the cave.

I loved the Oregon caves! It was a magical experience!
I visited on a Saturday in July. My companion and I hadn’t reserved a tour. We ended up calling the Illinois Valley Visitor Center - they gave us a heads up about available tours and timings. So, we drove to the Illinois Valley Visitor center (which is on the way to the main Oregon Caves visitor center from where the tours start) to make reservations for the discovery tour. You can purchase the tour tickets here and then proceed to the caves.
Since self-guided tours are not permitted(and for good reason), do plan for and get reservations in advance if you can!
The route from the Illinois Valley visitor center to the caves is only 15-20 miles - but takes an hour due to the uphill winding road.
The caves themselves were awesome!! The stalagmites, stalactites, columns, draperies, bacon ribbons, etc. were so beautiful! The tour itself was super informative too! A shout out to the rangers here - they were awesome and shared very interesting geological information throughout the tour. My favorite parts of the tour were the ghost room, lost paradise and the part where the ranger turned off the lights to give a feel of how dark it truly is down there!! 😅
While we didn’t have time to explore other trails in here, the whole Siskiyou forest around looked gorgeous!!

A very interesting hike with a decent amount of history behind the caves. My tour guide was very knowledgeable and considerate while leading the group through the caves.
I will admit I was a little disappointed by how constructed (flat platforms, grated walkways, and spotlight lighting throughout) the cave was; having explored other less frequented caves before I enjoy the natural/rugged atmosphere of caves but I understand the reason for the construction to make it more accessible as a national park, just not as much my cup of tea.
Regardless a really unique and interesting experience, at ~$20 per person, that is very easily accessible by anyone regardless of age. (Light stooping required for taller individuals, and ~500 stairs total over the whole 1 mile tour.) Plenty of flushing bathrooms at both the lower parking lot (1M 1F) and at the visitor center (1M 1F).

This was an incredible experience! Well worth the drive up to the cave site. It was unique, fascinating, and a little bit spooky (but there are lights throughout the whole system, so if you don't want it to be dark the guide can adjust). Our guide was so friendly and told cool facts and stories about the caves, let us stop and appreciate the weird and wonderful finds along the way, and let us see things with various lighting. The distance wasn't an issue, as we stopped many times along the route. There's even a side exit if needed. We also left the cave and headed up to the view point on the way back to the visitors center and it was such a gorgeous view.

It’s a long windy road to get here. I’m in a 22’ skoolie and it was a bit white knuckle, but worth it. The campground south of here is amazing (NP not hookups but quiet and beautiful), but know there is not shade (that lasts for more than an hour) in this parking lot for furry friends, and it gets HOT. Tour is around 2 hours, I’ve done a lot of cave tours, and loved it. Be sure to get tickets because they do sells out quickly (in the summer).

Had a kinda unnecessarily long but very cool tour through the caves on the discovery tour. It took longer because there were people in our group who were purposefully move as slow as possible through the cave. Really neat formations throughout.

1/2 hour from highway— the tour took over an hour inside a chilly cave— only 13 people per tour, no clothing from other Cave can be worn due to spreadable diseases
The Visitor Center explains conditions inside the Cave…. Must be able to crouch down and Waddle Walk short distances
In wet slippery conditions
Over 500 steep steps up and down
Inside the cave. Not recommended for young children or anyone with claustrophobia — bring a jacket!

What an interesting adventure to the Oregon caves. I would recommend the cave tour which was $10 for an adult and $6 for a child. You'll learn a lot. If you get a small group consider yourself lucky! It's 44 degrees inside the cave. Pants are beneficial but you can buy them in the gift store near the museum if you forget yours. Kids sweat pants are $30! I went with shorts and a hoody.... I survived! The drive up the mountain goes all the way to the end of the road so you can't get lost. Just go straight. You can buy a tour ticket right in the office/ museum but you might have to wait a bit incase the tours are already full. Small hikes are available, there's a swinging bench near a little pond it's a nice spot to snack and relax. There's a small interactive museum for kids, coloring station. You can get your junior ranger badge if you pass the test as well. Have a great adventure and watch your head! 500 steps and a 16% vertical grade incline at the end so hiking boots are beneficial if you want to be more prepared.

It is a beautiful place with a lot of trails to walk on. They have maps posted around the park in different places that display the trails and where each one leads to. Plenty of really cool things to see along the trails. Plus, depending on the time of year that you are there, you're very likely to see different types of wildlife as well. They also have a nice playground for kiddo's to get some energy out and have some fun as well. All in all it is a nice place to visit. It can just get a little crowded on the weekends so if you are able to, I suggest going during the week to avoid the crowds.

Lithia Park has gotten more beautiful over the last 30 years. There's a kids play structure, the Japanese gardens, very challenging stairs going straight up on the hillside for hikers and joggers with the chutzpah to climb, and benches and picnic tables to rest, craft, or eat. Today there was a cello player on the path, a couple artists, some deer, and nice breeze. Be aware there is an E-coli warning for the creek, as of August 2023. But don't let it stop you from enjoying the walking paths. Restrooms are open. No dogs, no bikes, no smoking.

Excellent productions with fine actors. This town has three comfortable theatres used for a variety of dramas, musicals and some Shakespeare productions during a long March to November season. Loved the 'Preface' ($10) which is a 30-minute talk given by an actor and theatre scholar as an intro to each play's author, storyline and production history. Very informative and helpful if you're going to shows with school age children.

Really cool venue and performance (we saw Twelfth Night). Very unique experience to watch such performances in an outdoor venue. The plays are very modern takes on the classics which make it a little more approachable for those less familiar. I had little knowledge of the story, Twelfth Night, so highly recommend doing a little homework pre-show otherwise you might find yourself lost trying to follow the story (particularly given the heavy early modern English).
The theater is very nice with variety of concessions and easily accessible restrooms.

Love the theater the show was great! Being that we are from another state and the first time visiting! It would have been nice to have been made aware of mandatory mask and proof of covid vaccinations to enter and open out door theater. Yeah sounds weird and doesn't make sense. But for us to have been made aware when we purchased our tickets and the multiple reminder emails of the upcoming show and asking for donations. Somewhere would have been nice to make that made aware.

Had a very enjoyable evening watching “All’s well that ends well.” They do a great job of presenting a modern interpretation of the play while staying true to the original language. These are not stuffy stiff performances.
One thing we didn’t realize at first is that the theater is open air. So be sure to bring a jacket to stay warm.
Tyler Waite — Google review
I have attended OSF since 1969. The plays in the past were always fantastic, this year sadly the dramatic interpretation of the plays left me short with only discontent. It has been a treat to enjoy Shakespeare in full traditional costumes but that seems to have been only a remembrance from yesteryear. Although I had heard from volunteers, there are hundreds of costumes saved in storage that would be great to see again to enhance the plays.
This year I saw Romeo and Juliet making a current political statement. Perhaps, homelessness should be dealt with in its own play with a creative resolution that would actually address the problems that have developed into homelessness. This was so distracting to a marvelous love story with traditional lines that it was flat.
The next disappointment was The Three Musketeers. The background of the play was interesting about the author Alexandre Dumas but could have been left as an introduction then the play would retain its original script. The foul language really did not add anything to the play and certainly not good for young theatre goers. I did not see disclaimer concerning the language when I ordered my tickets.
I suspect many of us are traditionalist who enjoy our current cultural or political issues in their own plays perhaps not mutilating Shakespeare or the other authors we come to enjoy.
I fear after all these years as OSF reaches toward 100 years of existence faithful patrons may not be rushing back as some of us over half a century. The theatre has been part of my entire life and I would hope Ashland and OSF will find its way back to great entertaining theatre again, for its survival.

January 2023 OSF announced major changes in all things. Due to Covid, the economy, etc....OSF will be taking drastic majors and 2018 season ended with 26 shows - cancelled - or move indoors- huge layoffs and $2-3 Million in losses...Like thousands, we use migrate to Ashland every year for a theater fix.
It is The Best! So Great - and so sad- due to Covid 19 - all plays and musicals are cancelled...Big financial hit to the company. We shall return.

We came from Chico CA and were aware there was some smoke in the area from fires. We came to see The Three Musketeers. We had awesome seats. The smoke was pretty low and we were told by email that we would be informed by email by 5:00 pm if the show would go on. They said the show would go on, we arrived, they opened seating, started playing music and then a man came out to announce that the show was canceled. We could understand to some degree of course but...why did they seat us?
Then, we heard some people saying that they were seating people in Romeo and Juliet which was in doors. When we got to that theater, the doors were closed and it was full. Some people were fortunate enough to get in but we were not. We only heard about it from people walking past that were "in the know" from the right person directing them over to that show. We weren't that lucky. We ended up wandering around town that was mostly closed for a bit and walked back to our hotel. Very disappointing. Empty stage, too bad the show looked promising 😐

Beautiful theatre.
Parking needs to be nearer to it for disabled patrons.
Sound system made me wonder if actors needed amplification but no the director just liked it LOUD. Lots of lunging and missing very few screams of pain as looser dies.
Costumes looked home made. Witches could only be identified because they appeared together.

3 of us booked a full day rafting trip with Morrisons Rogue Wilderness. They offered the options to use the inflatable kayaks (duckies) or riding a raft with others. We had a great time. Our guide, Mika (I hope that’s how he writes his name-sorry 🤭) and all the other guides are super fun guys to be on a trip with. They will walk or raft :) that extra mile for you and your family, friends so you have an outstanding experience on the river. They know the river very well and you feel totally comfortable and safe with them -even with younger kids. Especially if you are a first timer we highly recommend them so you have a great experience with professionals! We had so much fun! Thank you for it!

We had an outstanding trip on our four day hiking and rafting adventure. Knowledgeable guides, great and rustic lodges as well as good food and good friends made for a very memorable time. Be aware of some poison oak on the hiking trails.

We are 100% doing this trip again soon… Guides were all (5) amazing, lodges were warm and inviting and the food was fantastic. Tip of the hat to Morrison Lodge staff and Chef Matt, this young man is an excellent chef. You’ll understand why I’ve called him out after your first experience. Our river guide Andrew Serda… Best I’ve had on any of the many (Oregon, Alaska, Calif.) river trips I’ve had over the past 40 years. Never felt more safe and on the fish, like we did w/ Andrew.
See you again in 2024 !

Our family, including kids aged 9 and 11, did a 2 night rafting trip that was absolutely phenomenal on all levels. The scenery was gorgeous, camping under the stars was peaceful, and the guides were not only super entertaining but also very proficient and safe. To top it off, the food was very healthy and delicious, and the guides are extremely conscientious about protecting the environment- the very reason we are there!

What an amazing adventure! We were guided by Martin, Dustin O, Justin, and Kevin, and they were all amazing guides. The entire trip was so well planned & SO MUCH FUN! The food was fantastic and the camps were fabulous. Our family was on Dustin’s raft and he provided a wealth of information on the Rogue River, and the Rogue Valley. They were all phenomenal guides and made sure there was laughter the entire trip! We can’t wait for our next adventure with Morrison!

This was my first whitewater rafting experience! I tagged along with some friends on a 3 day, 2 night rafting trip and was not disappointed. The food was fantastic, and they took care of everything for us. This is the way to relax! Our guide was Greg, and he was very experienced, friendly, and helpful. Going through Blossom Bar was probably the most intense part for me, but Greg navigated us through it with ease. All the other guides were amazing as well: Rip, Mackenzie, Marcus (who did an amazing job on the meat!), Christian, and Nick. I highly recommend booking a trip and hope to return in the not so distant future! Thank you Morrison's for a fantastic adventure and experience!

We recently did a half day trip on the Rogue. The outfit served a nice lunch before departure at their scenic lodge. The guides were very seasoned and knowledgeable about every nook in the river. This was one of the more mellow rafting trips I took, but was a great intro for my daughter. We had a very relaxing afternoon in a very beautiful stretch of the river.

I highly praise the 6 man crew for their professional manner, endless patience and dedication to safety of our group of 21 during the 4 day river trip. The meals offered were delicious, with an abundance of choices. The last night we stayed at Paradise Bar lodge. Their staff and accommodations were excellent. The food was great. A beautiful location with resident wildlife. Our crew leader was Martin who I give a 5 plus star rating. The experience was exceptional, one I will remember forever. I highly recommend this company if a river trip is on your bucket list.

I was so very nervous/hesitant to go on this trip but I'm so glad I did. Our guide, Greg, was fabulous. I was at-ease for most of the trip and he talked us through how to handle each area. He was a pro! I highly recommend anyone getting out of their comfort zone and booking this trip with a stayover at Paradise Lodge. The food was incredible. The views were incredible. The experience was incredible.

Our rafting trip with Morrisons Rogue Wilderness Adventures was nothing short of extraordinary! From the start, the team at Morrisons left no stone unturned to ensure that our adventure was impeccably planned and executed. Whether you're an experienced rafter or a first-timer, they cater to every need.
Our guide Ryan was the perfect blend of knowledgeable, attentive, humorous, and cautious. He lead 2 other rafts at the same time. His love for and knowledge of the Rogue River made the trip all the more fun.
The rapids were perfectly suited for beginners, and the option to solo kayak added an exciting touch of challenge for those seeking it. I definitely made use of it and highly recommend it. Our children, aged 6 and 9, had the time of their lives! Watching their faces light up with joy and excitement was truly priceless.
We saw Ospreys soaring above us and turtles on the shores. We jumped into the river for swim breaks multiple times. The provided lunch was not only delicious, but also thoughtfully prepared, adding to our memorable day. The chocolate chip cookies were.. yeah amazing.
The full day of rafting was filled with moments of thrill, laughter, fun, and filled with awesome surrounding natural beauty.
Our experience with Morrisons Rogue Wilderness Adventures was outstanding and one we will cherish forever. If you are looking for a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and natural beauty, look no further than a rafting trip down the scenic Rogue River with this excellent crew. It's an adventure you'll remember for a lifetime.

My husband and I just finished a raft supported hiking trip of the wild and scenic part of the Rogue river. It exceeded my expectations. The attention to detail and the care and comfort of the guests was perfect. I was worried about hiking such a long stretch and the ability to get in the rafts and hit the water multiple times a day made it so much more enjoyable for me. Our trip leader Sorin and her guides Marcus and Maynard were so welcoming and friendly we felt like family. I highly recommend this company - their care and customer service we’re second to none.

This was my first time river rafting. It was soo much fun! The lunch to start us off was awesome! Great quality food and it felt like home. Our guide Rip was awesome! He made us feel safe and he was soo much fun! He talked and interacted with us and made the trip extra fun! Having the inflatable kayak available to us made it even more fun! I loved it soo much! This experience made me want to book another one with bigger rapids! There was one downfall to the trip. There was a lead guide, named Don or something like that. He was soo rude! Our group fell behind and once we caught up to him he reprimanded our guide in front of everyone! Asking him if he knew how to row and everything ! Saying our guide made it unsafe for everyone. Which is totally not true. This lead guide made his raft and ours feel soo uncomfortable. That was soo unprofessional. He kept making comments to our guide and under his breath that were just so uncalled for and not professional. I would love to book another raft with you all but am hesitant because if that guide is there I won’t book it. I still gave a 5 star because everything except for that lead guide, was amazing ! Thank you!

Our guides, Brent and Soren, made for a wonderful trip. Kind and courteous, they both tended to all our needs despite none of us being sandwich people. Soren allowed us all to row to our hearts content. Highly recommend Morrison’s!
Visitor facility with nature exhibits, bookstore, scenic lake views & access to Garfield Peak Trail.
Crater Lake is the real 5star here. The visitor center is fine. Typical overpriced National Park gear to buy in the gift shops. Didn't have any issues with the park rangers or staff. Some of the buildings are in the process or being updated or renovated. Some of the grounds too, so some places are not accessible. But people come here for the amazing view of the lake. The Rim Village buildings are decent amenities.

This was a great experience. Walls of snow all the way around but all the roads were completely clear. It was an amazing sight to see. They have the gift shop and diner open. Once you climb on top of the snow wall to get a picture that's when the wind kicks in. Make sure you dress warm and have shoes with some grip.

Such a beautiful place to visit! We went two weeks ago and there was too much snow to hike any trails unless you had proper gear...We will revisit when it warms back up!

It's 30$ for a car load for 7 days. It's magnificent, it was the most beautiful lake I've ever seen. It's 30+ miles around the lake, there are viewpoints and other cool things to see even a spot to go down to the water. Yes, you can swim in the lake. It's just extremely cold bc the lake is made up of rain water and melted ice. There's also a tour boat to take you to the island. Most definitely worth the trip and money!!!

Nice gift shop! Went to Crater Lake and it was really foggy, we were planning on sticking around most of the day and we were glad we did because it cleared up beautifully. We also hiked to the bottom of the Crater, not for the faint of heart. Going down was easy, coming back was definately hard for this out of shape traveler and left me out of breath.
Danielle McNamee — Google review
Friends said- There's no place quite like Crater Lake! And they didn't exagerate. We happened to be at Rim Village just for the few moments when the lake's surface was mirror smooth, with the sky reflected in the water. I was speechless. (And I've done a lot of traveling in the world, and seen much of the beauty...This was stunning.) Make sure that Crater Lake is on your bucket list... and be patient, you may get a view reflected on the lake surface. There is on hiking path down to the lake, but unless you are an experienced, fit hiker, I suggest you content yourself with views from the rim. AND I got a hat.

Wildlife Safari is a 600-acre park that boasts an impressive collection of animals from around the globe. Visitors can embark on a 4.5-mile drive-thru loop to see these creatures up close and in their natural habitats, including deer and emus giving birth. Beyond the drive-thru, guests can also explore the barn and get even closer to some of the animals.
Awesome place to go with family and friends!
Lots of animals to see and even feed a few!
After the nice relaxing drive around you can even park and see more animals!
Staff was very friendly! Some of the staff even stayed next to the animals and said a few facts and were always making sure you enjoyed it!
Definitely recommend going to this place!

The Wildlife Safari is located in Winston, Oregon. You can pay to go through the drive through to see bears, bison, elephants, giraffes, and many other animals, but if you plan to go through the drive through a couple more times it is best to buy a membership for $120 annually. You can go through the drive through as many times as you would like the entire year. You can add a person onto the membership, so you could also just go in on a membership with a family member or a friend. You can walk through and look at many other animals for free, with donations kindly accepted. There is a small playground for children, a cafeteria/ restaurant, many different species of animals to look at as well as a petting zoo area.

Great little set up. Lots of great things to see. My advice is don't let the guy behind you rush you through. Tell him/her to go around and race to the finish on their own time. You only get the one trip through and it's not by the car but the passengers inside so take your time and really enjoy the presentation. I love the fact that they are doing this the right way and not like some nasty places that try to make money off the poor animals.

Tons of family fun. Lots of animals to see, plenty of activities in the village. Playground, petting zoo, camel rides, train rides, Photo Booth. snacks, gift shop. Everything extra cost extra. Place is affordable for the most part and about average. Lots of more intimate options for interacting with animals for a cost. Arrived at 2pm and many animals were napping already. You could see them; just laying down. Earlier arrival time would be best we assumed. Village layout is a little confusing and viewing window glass had major glare. We will be back.

We spent today here. It had been many years since we'd been there, so some things have changed, such as some of the predatory animals not roaming free as in yrs past. But, I do understand why they probably had to change that. Still, we enjoyed it so much. The weather was perfect, and this place is so well maintained. Definitely do the walk through as well, if you have time. The landscaping is very pretty, too. Both adults and children really love feeding the birds, in the aviary.

Drove through with family, it was a lot of fun. You must stay in your vehicle at all times. We bought some food in cups to feed the animals through our windows. We had enough time pause in our car and take pictures along the way. There's souvenirs available at the end, highly recommend as a family stop!

Loved it so much and only wish we'd got there earlier in the day to experience more of the safari village! The drive through was huge, so many animals roaming free - it was really quite spectacular to see such great care for all creatures. The bears were my favourite, also loved the feeding area where we had fun giving snacks to the deer and emus (one of them stole our cup and got chased around by his mate, we were laughing for ages). We ended our tour with a sticker for the van and a little peek at the cheetah. I'd definitely recommend this safari for all ages, stay for the whole day and enjoy it!

I love this place. Went with my granddaughters. They had a blast. They loved feeding the animals. The ostriches and deer came straight up to my car. The bears are my favorite. They seemed so relaxed laying in the shade. The leopards and cheetahs were nice to see. We saw them eating their dinner. The walk in part of the park was very nice. We walked around and saw several animals there. We loved the babies. I would highly recommend this place. It is a great place to stop while on vacation or if you just want to have a special day.

A great place for people young and old. The kids we're super excited each time we spotted a new animal on the drive through, and the adults felt a child like anticipation. The walk through village offered an educational experience with different animals to see and interact with and the chance to see some creatures very up close and personal.

Drove down from Portland for a day adventure with my 3 children. This place does not disappoint! So much fun, much better than the Oregon Zoo. Animals had more than enough room to roam freely and all seemed happy. My kids loved feeding the deer and the emu's! Well cared for and kept together. We'll definitely be back!

This experience was amazing!!! We saw so many animals up close and happy in their environment. Bonus was seeing a 15 minute old deer and watching an emu give birth. Our entire party was incredibly happy with this experience and still talking about it days later. Enjoyed walking around the barn and seeing other animals after the drive through. Highly recommend.

This was quite amazing to do. We were pressed for time, but with your admission you can go around a couple of times on the drive. Plus the walk through area is included. That is where you can do the camel ride and train. It was nice they honored both a Veteran discount and triple A discount. Will definitely go back again 😀

I have been visiting Wildlife Safari for the past 35+ years (about every 4-5 years we make a trip down). It's a wonderful experience, and a treat to see so many animals- some up close! Some things have changed over the years. For example, the lions used to roam free to the point they had to open a gate to let each car in and out. Now they're contained behind fences. I'm guessing it's an insurance requirement (which says more for society than anything). It's still a great place to visit.
The day we were there this time was pretty hot. The rhinos were hiding in the shade near the top of the hill, but other than that, pretty much all of the other critters were out and about. We didn't do the train or camel ride this time, but have in the past (and enjoyed both).
All in all, Wildlife Safari is absolutely worth a trip- granted it's no Loro Parque, but is educational, charming, and enjoyable in it's own way. Yes, we will absolutely be back in a couple years.

Great way to watch animals which can roam freely than being in cages. They have all variety of animals, mainly, well fed and healthy. Groupon made it cheaper with discounted tickets.

Beautiful sunny day that wasn't too cold so we could enjoy the animals with the windows down. Went in the afternoon of a weekday, so very light traffic & the animals were all out & playful. This preserve is spectacular & massive with so many animals from all over the world. Today's favorite was the young grizzly bear playing & running. Also, two Emos fighting over the feed cup LOL. Make sure to bring at least $5 cash so you can feed some of the animals. This place is a must see & I'll be going back at least once a year!

Wow wow wow, This was such a great experience. We last minute got tickets for this safari on our way up to Portland and it was 100% worth it. There was a slight drilling so it was am interesting experience. Many of the animals were out cuddled up with each other. We spent around 2 hours here. Not many cars on the trail. Be careful feeding the emus... food go everywhere haha. This is a must stop !

The Owen Rose Garden is a lovely park featuring stunning floral displays, picnic areas, biking and pedestrian paths, and a performance space. This serene garden also boasts the oldest cherry tree in Oregon, which dates back to the mid-1800s when it was planted by Eugene Skinner. Visitors can enjoy free access to this rose garden and take in the beautiful flowers throughout June as well as other times of year.
June was a great time of year to go there. Roses were still blooming.
There is a bathroom close by and the rose garden is free to the public.
Also it is home to the oldest cherry tree in Oregon, Owen Cherry Tree.
It is believed this tree was planted in the mid 1800’s by Eugene Skinner, founder of the City of Eugene in 1853. The tree is within the boundaries of Skinner’s 1846 land claim.

The Owen Rose garden was lovely what a treat. Uncle Jessie and Aunt Krissy took us in a walk through there today and it was very pleasant. A suggestion maybe some town people as volunteers should go in and weed as a group to help keep the weeds out and looking beautiful. Thanks for the Rose garden Eugene, Oregon loved it.

There were so many different colors and varieties of roses it was unreal! Simply beautifully kept grounds, great accessible walkways, and even though we snagged the last parking spot available it did not feel crowded in the garden as walkways were wide and people kept their distance. I did notice some sketchily parked vans/vehicles, which I assume people were living in, sprinkled about the parking lot, which made the experience feel tarnished as the homeless population in this area can be a bit aggressive and dangerous. But overall it was an amazing place to visit and I would recommend! Just make sure to lock your vehicle and keep your kids close!

This was a beautiful stop, we where nicely surprised with how many people where visiting so early in the morning.
On the side of caution just make sure your car is locked as homeless sleeping under bench and another allowing dog to run around with no leash .

Amazing care and cleanliness of this park.
June is one of the best months to visit; almost all the garden is fully blooming and all the flowers are opened and vibrant.
Great for photography sessions.
There are benches located around the park, as well as restrooms.
No fee to enter or park.
Many picnic areas for group reunions, proposals, wedding pics, etc.
The neighborhood around is ok, some of the streets are not the best; but the park itself is beautiful, clean, great condition and safe.
We didn’t find any homeless people, but the area before getting there showed that there were some.

One of the best rose gardens I've ever been to. The roses are fragrant and beautiful and the layout is awesome. Nice casual walk through the gardens without a lot of people...great for pictures. Oh, Owen Rose Garden, you bloomed your way into my heart and made me feel like a botanical connoisseur! Now, let's dive into this bloomin' awesome review.
First off, let me just say that even though not all the roses were in season, it didn't dampen my spirits one bit. This garden was a sight to behold! It was like stepping into a fragrant wonderland where colors and scents danced together in perfect harmony. I found myself surrounded by nature's artwork, and oh boy, it was a feast for the eyes and nose!
Now, here's where the comedic plot twist comes in. Picture this: I'm strolling through this serene garden, feeling all zen and at peace with the world when suddenly, out of nowhere, a heated bike argument breaks out! Yep, you heard it right. Apparently, those folks on their two-wheeled contraptions couldn't agree on whose turn it was to ring the bell. Talk about a thorny situation in a rose garden!
But fear not, dear readers, for even amidst the bike-fueled drama, Owens Rose Garden remained a tranquil haven. The beauty of the flowers and the gentle rustling of leaves managed to calm my soul, despite the occasional bike-induced chaos. It was like Mother Nature herself was reminding me to stop and smell the roses, while also giving me a good laugh.
So, if you're in need of some floral therapy and a sprinkle of unexpected amusement, Owens Rose Garden is the place to be. Just remember to keep an eye out for those drama-seeking bicyclists. Five stars? Absolutely! Owens Rose Garden, you've shown me that even in the midst of floral tranquility, life can throw in a dash of comedy. Keep blooming and keep the bike battles entertaining!
Enchanted Forest is a well-established amusement park that offers a variety of classic rides and storybook-inspired attractions for children. The park caters primarily to younger visitors since some areas are small and require crawling. However, the pizza served at the park may not meet everyone's expectations, as it has a school-like flavor. The limited options for snacks and drinks were also noted by some visitors. Nonetheless, Enchanted Forest features several enjoyable areas such as the haunted house.
I have lived in Eugene for 24 years and had never been to Enchanted Forest until today. My husband and I took my son for the first time, he is 2.5 and he absolutely LOVED it! The storybook houses, the slides, the beautiful Oregon backdrop, the rides and the staff were all wonderful! It is kinda spending, but in my opinion, worth every penny! I highly, highly recommend for any kiddo 2+! We will most definitely be back very soon!

We had so much fun with our 6 year old. This place is worth every dime you spend and every mile you drive. It will take all day to enjoy your visit if you want to e place every attraction and ride every ride. There are lots of hills to walk up and down so take your cane if you need one. It's totally wheelchair accessible. There are gifts for everyone and food. It's not overpriced at all in my opinion. You can tell the owner put his heart and soul into Enchanted Forest. Thank you sir!!

Cute little place!
On our drive back to California we decided to stop w/our 2 year old.
It’s a walking fairy-tale tour at first, with a western town and some rides and activities.
2y/o loved the story/fairy tale tour and ran all around!
Cute little place for a fun quick stop.
It appears you can take food in. So it would be a cute half day to take a picnic/food and get the kids out!
Wish we lived closer but it was fun!
$22 is the adult ticket price and was a bit steep considering it’s just a walking thing but it was still fun.

This is easily my favorite theme park. The shady trees make even the hottest days bearable, the attractions are quirky and cute, and it’s fun for both kids and adults alike.
S X — Google review
There are a lot of hands-on play for little ones. There are no all-day passes, so expect to pay $3.00 -$5.00 per ride, per person. However, you can bring your own food and food prices at the park are reasonable, So it balances out.
I came here when I was 5 and now my grandson comes here. It's cool to take pictures of him in front of the same attractions that I did as a child. For me, it brings up a sense of nostalgia and I enjoy coming because I remember my father and I playing on the witch slide, the old lady in the shoe slide, and other attractions that are still present. Now, I get to make new memories with my grandchild. I do wish they had a annual pass so that I could come more often.
Another positive is thst this park is family-owned and you are supporting a local business. They seem to make sure that things are reasonably priced. It's well worth it if you have little kids.
There's a Western Village, an Old English Village, castles, and plenty of photo opportunities. There are a few rides and attractions that would be fun for teenagers, but they may get bored quickly. Teenagers may not have such a great time, save for the unique pictures they could take in front of a variety of locations. So, if your teenager is big into selfies and picture taking, a few basic rides, and a haunted house they may enjoy it for a little while.
Me, personality, I love coming here with my grandkids.

It has gotten kinda expensive. Some parts are run down but it’s got a fun nostalgic vibe. Needs more drinking fountains. I only saw one. Kinda chilly since it’s in the forest so wear a jacket.

Overall it’s a great place to take kids mostly since half of the places to see are too small for adults to crawl and do all the times of moving haha . The pizza was school pizza flavor in the sense of would be delicious but it wasn’t up there . Wish they had more options like teas and pretzels . Half of the stores were closed when we went . Did enjoy the theme and areas like the haunted house . Tickets are up there in price so save money before hand because for two adults and a kid your already up to like $70 . That doesn’t include rides you want to get on . Enjoy it though since it’s rare to have places open now a days.

Always a great place to take the family. The parking lot was full but they had an overflow lot down the stairs street with a shuttle bus that would drop you off right in front. There is an entrance fee, once your inside, you will have to purchase tickets to go on rides. Very nostalgic for those who grew up going there. Feels good to support a local family run amusement park.

Beautiful location, on a hill in the woods. So it’s protected from the heat!!!
The windy ways with angle make it hard for toddlers to walk around. My and my friends little took a dive on the pavement. Our toddlers were 2,5, our oldest 5 years. They’ve had the perfect age for most rides. It was disappointing you had to pay for every single ride also when you HAD to get in the ride with your little one even tho they would’ve been perfectly fine without you. So entry+snacks+ rides ends up in a pretty spendy day. So definitely nothing we will be doing every year and especially not more than once since it really cuts into a budget. But nevertheless it’s a beautiful park with lots of love to the detail. Coming from Germany visiting amusement parks was a thing k grew up with. But you pay admission and the parks are filled with rides you can get in all day long as many times as you want. So this was a disappointment. I have came here since I was a child. Love this place. Looks like it's been updated with new paint, some new signage, more food places and everything was working. One of the best trips to here yet! So much fun! Even as adults I had as much fun as I did when I was a child! 💯 Worth the price to go play all day! Lots of fairy tales, rides and slides.

I went to mock what I expected to be poorly-made,yet kitschy Disney knock-offs in someone's backyard, only to be stunned by a delightful theme park that truly punches above its weight.
The place is compact, allowing you to experience all of it — live shows and rides included — in just a day. And that's not a downside. Shake off the Disney and big amusement park trauma, and revel in a day filled with quirky attractions, from Pirate sing-a-longs to genuinely thrilling log flume rides. During my visit, the lines moved swiftly, especially in the early hours.
The food is astonishingly affordable for theme park fare. In fact, it's a steal even by regular fast-food standards. While it may not be gourmet, it delivers exactly what you'd hope for, with a few pleasant surprises thrown in, like a barbecue joint and an ice cream shop offering dole whip.
In addition to admission, you so have to pay extra for thrill rides (Haunted house, alpine coaster, log flume water ride, and an interactive dragon shooting ride), it is worth it.
Yes, there are some odd (ugly), offbeat, and occasionally malfunctioning sculptures and animatronics. But there's such inherent charm and whimsy in it all that it's easy to overlook. I walked in a snarky skeptic, only to walk out proudly donning a souvenir t-shirt and wearing an incredulous smile.
Highly recommended.
A perfect score of 10/10 enchantments.

The biggest thing I would suggest is wait until your kiddos are old enough to walk the park. Bring backpacks with whatever food/drink you want for the day. Do not bring your stroller, or your wagon. You won't be able to get around inside of hardly any of the attractions. You'd be able to walk the normal paths but you'll be stuck to the main trails and unable to go inside the attractions. I own a Wonderfold wagon and we went to take it into the first castle and we couldn't even make it inside. If you have a small baby, I suggest wearing them. :)
There are no more ride bracelets so rides cost $3 -$5 per person per ride.
I have two toddlers I took with me and was hopeful we could ride the MTN ride but no one was able to give me an answer as to if they both could ride with me. I was told id have to purchase tickets, wait in line and ask the operator. HOWEVER tickets are refundable.
My kids loved the slides! They wore themselves out running up and down the slides ❤️

Prices have gone up drastically... almost pricing out low income familiesto be able to visit :( also they have gotten rid of all there water fountains and there is no more pwnny machine. Other than that, this place gives me sooo much childhood nostalgia I will always love it. I really think water fountians for people coming with waterbottles is a must!!! Plus lots of kids it is imporant to stay hydrated.

Had a wonderful time for my son’s birthday! We bought our tickets in advance and were compensated with 5 ride tickets per entry since two rides were out of commission. We usually pack lunches but decided to go rather last minute so ended up buying on site but we were pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices!! We will be back again.

Every worker was so kind and accommodating I was there with young kids and disabled elderly everyone made us feel so welcome and were so helpful they used a go cart to transport a disabled family member around. The park is amazing for young kids especially that 5 to 10 range. I came in hopeful because it was my kids first amusement park and they blew me away everyone I was with loved it.

I love this place and would fight to keep it open as long as possible. Robert Tofty worked hard and it's hand crafted with love . With that being said, you also can't charge guests $10 admission and $5 per ride. Going as a child when it was $2 per ride or a ride wristband was the best part. Won't be going again this year or in the future because it's ridiculous to run you $20 for 4 rides that last under 5 minute's per ride . They are pricing out low income families being in Turner that's not sustainable.

I was really surprised by this under reported gem of a theme park. My 5 year old had a blast. There is some fun and spooky decor (not necessarily intentionally spooky) very retro storybook land but my kids still enjoyed it. There were plenty of open concession stands, prices were affordable for food and rides. Tons of parking. Lots of uphill walking but not a problem for us. Staff were on top of making sure the park wasn’t dirty almost constantly sweeping and taking out the trash.

Awesome amusement park for a young family. Very fun and young kids themed amusement park. Our 4 and 6 year old boys had an absolute blast.
Admission works on a paid admission and then tickets per ride. Each ticket is $1, but any leftover tickets can be returned when you're done for the day for a refund.
Rides range from 3 to 5 tickets each.
Very affordable drinks, snacks, and food. Incredibly clean for such a well visited location.
Super friendly staff.
Here are some highlights of some of the rides;
The Haunted House creeped our little guys out a bit in a good, fun way, lol. Wasn't some lame carnival style one. This was lengthy with some imagination put into it.
The Bobsled was a very fun rollercoaster for the whole family.
The Challenge of Mondor was a fun monster shooting ride that the kids wanted to do twice.
Panning for treasure was only 1 ticket each, and participants get to take home a bag of "treasure".
Highly recommend for a younger family!
Silver Falls State Park is Oregon's largest state park and offers a variety of outdoor activities including camping, swimming, picnicking, cycling, and horseback riding. The main attraction is the Trail of Ten Falls Loop which is an easy 8-mile loop that leads visitors through a basalt canyon filled with thick forests teeming with ferns, mosses and wildflowers. This serene park features ten waterfalls along the dog-friendly trail, as well as campsites and cabins for overnight stays.
Amazing, probably the most popular park n hiking trails in the states. Its tons of hiking trails with different lengths from easy to hard. Well maintain n managed. You could see lots of falls n great view.
You need state lark permit which could be bought online for a year or from kiosk in parking lots for $5 a day.
Even weekdays they are good amount of people all around the park

The best 9 miles I ever hiked. Covered all the trails. Bring good hiking shoes because it is quiet muddy, the trail is not at all difficult to do.
I love the north water fall and the south water fall.
The map is so confusing, it never tells you where you are. Better to download the hiking map to help you in forest because there is no service in that area. Park in the main parking lot.
Nidhi Jha — Google review
Absolutely loved this hike. I've always wanted to go behind a waterfall. I think the lower south falls was my favorite, you're behind the fall and pretty close to the water too.
Ten waterfalls all in 1 hike! But give yourself a lot of time, I only managed to see 8/10 waterfalls. I think it took me about 3 hours I forget how long exactly.
And definitely go early, when I got back to the car around 12:30 there were a lot of cars waiting with no parking spaces available.
I went at the end of May and the waterfalls were still a wonderful sight to see, but I wonder if I went earlier in the year the water flow would be higher? Some of them didn't seem that big but I'm not sure if that's just how they normally are.
All in all, a great hike, not too hard in difficulty, but long in length, I love that it's a loop trail so you don't have to turn back around at the end.
Park is kept very clean, I think $5 fee to park there.

The trail from the South entrance was absolutely beautiful. The first two waterfalls are a must-see. Make sure to take water with you if you plan to hike the entire loop, or even half of it. Be careful for loose rock and wet slippery places. There are some steps, and the trail gets fairly steep in spots, both up and down.

I cannot describe what a wonderful experience I had here. My boyfriend and I were on a road trip to the coast and this was our first stop. We did the 10 Waterfalls hike and I was amazed during every second of it. The fact that we were able to walk behind so many of them just made me feel like I could really experience it. And all the moss everywhere was a dream. The trail is good with only 1 steep downhill and then steps to get back up or visa versa depending on how you hike it. The bathrooms were clean and even warm. They had many different kinds of buildings to explore, we didn't but you can easily spend a whole day there. 10/10 recommend to anyone who loves waterfalls.

Such a cool place for a family hike! Was recommended by a friend and definitely don't regret a single second we spent here. Highly recommend going on the hike that at least takes you through the 7 falls if you are up for a 5+ mile hike. Not too strenuous either.
Christian Hagler — Google review
On a Friday morning we decided to drive an hour from Portland and go for a “little” hike. We are non-hikers so the 2.8 mile loop was plenty of a hike for us. Easy, beautiful hike down to see the lower south falls but the switchbacks coming back up to the parking lot were brutal. We had to take several breaks. It felt good to complete the hike and we definitely would do it again though!

I planned to stop here just to see one waterfall and a short hike... 6 hours later, I didn't want to leave. It's truly stunning y'all. For those with mobility issues, it will be a challenge to get down to the waterfalls. The paths are fairly steep but well maintained. I've never been behind a waterfall and that was the coolest. They have an awesome shop and lodge too. Even cabins for rent! Can't wait to go back.

Beautiful hiking area. Trails are moderate, wide and well kept. 10 waterfalls of various sizes and length to see and experience. A few you can walk behind the water which is fun. Lots of picnic areas so bring a lunch. 3 different parking lots. The south lot is the largest.
Andee Allen — Google review
Very well maintained and easy to hike park. The waterfalls are breathtaking. It turned out to be a rainy and cold day, so we were limited on time but I would love to come back and do the full hike to see all ten waterfalls!

Wonderful! Less crowded than similar areas. We did the beginning of Canyon Trail from South Fall and then switched to Maple Ridge Trail. Great short hike with two big waterfalls. Will definitely bring more time when I visit again.
Jessi VB — Google review
What an awesome day! Checked out all 10 waterfalls and the hike was not too bad and took about 4 hrs. Make sure to wear proper shoes or bring an extra pair of socks if you wear running/cross training shoes. Gets pretty wet on the trail especially when you go behind some of the waterfalls. It was dope!
Virgilio Villasenor — Google review
This place is a hikers dream. 10 falls in a 9 mile loop is simply heaven. I visited on 07-04-22. The terrain was shaded, cool, wet and extremely fun to hike. There was a slight elevation at some parts and some stairs throughout. There were a few bridges along the trail as well. Definitely wear water shoes for the hike and keep a spare pair in the car for later. Try wearing quick dry clothes.
Start by paying $5 parking fee at the kiosks.
Take snacks and water.
Take a hiking stick mostly for safety.
Be considerate of others while taking pics. Don't hog the trail and let other pass by safely.
Know your comfort level if you decide to get under the falls or in the water at all. Safety can't get to you fast enough once you are around double falls.
Keep your phone charged to capture the beautiful moments.
Take your time and enjoy to the fullest.

A wonderful place! There’s a lot of trails for everyone to enjoy, beautiful sights, plentiful and well-maintained bathrooms, picnic tables, and water for swimming. Was here for a family reunion and it lived up to everything we hoped. We reserved a pavilion and it had all the room we needed to prepare lunch and such. There were a lot of people on the trails, but it wasn’t overwhelmingly crowded.

Didn't know what to expect. First time here. As busy as it gets for a Sunday, there was still parking available. With cool temperatures during the late afternoon, the lush nature and breathtaking waterfalls set the mood for the hike. The sound and streams of the waterfalls made it a very pleasant experience. The cafe and nature store in the park is a great visit. Felt the burn on the inclines, although challenging, it was manageable. There's bike trails and some paved paths. Great viewpoints and pathways. Will definitely return for the full loop.

I love this park as much as I love the Columbia River Gorge. You can see 10 waterfalls and some you can walk behind. Some are easy to spot from the parking areas but most waterfalls require a hike. There are stairs on the trail from South Falls to Lower South Falls so beware of that too!

This was such a fun experience. Such a peaceful and beautiful place to visit. Plenty to do and see. You can walk as much as you want or relax. Hiking here is like a dream! You get to see such beautiful waterfalls and the trails are good for cardio and just taking in nature as you go. We got lucky to see snow and ice covered vegetation! Wear good hiking shoes when going in the winter ice can be hidden really well on some of the trails and cause you to slip.

We love this forest park. Very well maintain trails, easy to hike and easy to navigate. Beautiful waterfalls. Coming here in the fall is a must in order to see the fall foliage. Lots of good foraging spots if you’re into foraging. Come after a good rain and your guaranteed to find lots of mushrooms. (Bring a field guide!) Lots of parking in the parking lot. You will have to pay for a Oregon park permit or a day pass. (EV charging available). There’s also a nice bike only trail for you bikers. You’ll drive through a little farming town with fresh eggs for sell everywhere!

This place is magnificent! The south falls are a short walk from the parking and are easy to access at the viewing point. You can walk on a short trail behind the falls, but this is quite steep.
The Willamette Valley is a charming and picturesque region that boasts over 500 vineyards renowned for their Pinot Noir, as well as a farm-to-fork ethos. The valley offers an array of farmers markets from June to October, with purveyors coming from across central and eastern Oregon to showcase their produce.
Spend a weekend here it was amazing. It was a little cold on the coasts at the end of October but enjoyed our time.

Went to visit this beautiful vineyard while staying in Portland for a long weekend. It was an hour drive away and we had a great time. Our private tour with Allison was awesome - she was very knowledgeable about the vineyard practices and the wines even though she had only been on week 6 or so of working there! They had some wines we really loved - the Tualatin Estate Pinot noir was delightful - and others that were just okay (we were not huge fans of the whole cluster Pinot noir). They include a cheese plate with the tour which my husband enjoyed and they put together a vegan plate for me.
Overall we had a wonderful time and we really enjoyed Allison’s energy as well as the history she taught us about and the pours that kept flowing 😊

None of the photos uploaded are of the Willamette valley. This is not what it looks like none of these are accurate. Translated it means valley of sickness.
Nice place just not always nice people. You do not want to live anywhere that does not get sunlight at some point. Make sure you choose the right spot if you're going to live here.
If you have your own resources and you're good at staying to yourself this is The place for you.
Now if you want to live in a more populated area that's a whole different story.
Eugene and some surrounding areas are not too bad. Just stay away from Medford or Portland.
Be ready for any kind of weather at any point. Have a good day.

The Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum boasts a collection of historic aircraft, including the world's largest. Visitors can also enjoy a water park and 3D theater. The museum is staffed by friendly volunteers who provide an entertaining experience. While the admission price may seem high at $20 per adult, it is understandable as the funds go towards restoration efforts. Overall, it is a great place to explore aviation history and learn about incredible airplanes and space technology.
Okay. First, this place is awesome. A lot of history and interesting information, as well as many famous and incredible airplanes and such. The space side was even better. The volunteers were very nice, and we were well entertained. My only gripe is the price. And while I understand the importance of them making money to fund the restoration and everything, $20 an adult seemed high. $15 seems better, but I'm splitting hairs. No regrets, and my wife and kid enjoyed it!

We're lucky to have the air and space museum so close to us. Each time we visit, we always find something that we missed before. With plenty of great planes on display, the Spruce Goose, and the space museum next door, you could spend a day here easily. Staff is friendly, helpful and informative. There are snacks and a gift shop and a free water jug if you get thirsty. The facility is layer out nicely and a self tour is easily achieved.

This is a very interesting place to visit and it is appealing to all ages. There are airplanes hanging from the ceiling and a few small amusement park type rides for the kids to enjoy. They had a pretty good crowd on this Saturday afternoon. There is a small restaurant inside and also a large playground outside for the kids as well. This is a clean, well organized and very informative facility. All things to do with flight are on display here and you will not be disappointed.

I haven't been here since before COVID, and I realized they have lost some of their aircraft (along with all of their armored vehicles), but it is still a great experience.
The museum is well maintained with tons of information and the aircraft are just amazing. There is obviously the Me262, which is incredibly rare and an incredible feat of engineering, but I was surprised to see other weirder aircraft there as well. For instance, I had never heard of, let alone seen, a Mojave. I was also excited to see that they have a Mohawk, another very interesting (and rare) aircraft.
Rick Raddue — Google review
What a wonderful experience! Staff/volunteers were very friendly and informative. So much information along with visual stimuli. Took several hours to visit both buildings and see planes outside. Of course, the Spruce Goose was the star attraction!
Autumn Ray (Wake-Up) — Google review
A fun place to explore for kids and adults alike. The biggest (literally) attraction in the Aviation side is the 'Spruce Goose', of course, and it is certainly a sight to behold. It is an incredible feat of engineering and the sheer size is astounding. But there are plenty of other cool aircraft to check out. Stop by the gift shop for some souvenirs!
The Space side is very well put together with easy-to-read history and rare artifacts from space missions. The tallest attraction there is the Titan II rocket which sits in a 3 story silo and reaches up towards the roof. The SR-71 is also really cool to see in person.
Hit it at the right times and you can sit and visit with veterans and experts in the various exhibits and learn history directly from those who experienced it.
Overall we had a great visit and look forward to going back when we are in the area again. 🚀✈️

Amazing museum. Parking is so easy there. Ticket prices are okay in general. Volunteers did a great job in facilitating the visit and they were available if you need any information. The museum is divided into two separate buildings, one as aviation museum and the other as space . Both are amazing. There’s a huge opportunity to take different photos. You should try the simulator during your visit .

I have always had a love of aviation. Case in point, I once asked to go to the airport for my birthday to watch the airplanes when I was little. That being said, Evergreen is one of my favorite places in Oregon. I now have a membership, and I love taking friends and family and sharing this place with them any chance I get. P.S. The water park is a blast too!!

For someone who is not really interested in airplanes, this was a really good airplane museum. We got to see how a part of the Aviator was filmed, were able to go into airplanes and see the history of flight. Unfortunately we weren't able to go into the planes outside since the workers said the door wasn't opening and closing correctly on those planes. The kids really liked the outside airplane themed playground. It is accessible outside without admission.

Very cool museum. From someone that is not from the area, it is in a non-conventional location … about an hour south of Portland if you happen to be flying into Portland International.
My tour guide (optional) was great. Very knowledgeable and fun. This tour was just under an hour.
First Come First Served extra cockpit tours of the Spruce Goose are a must. Sit in the same seat Howard Hughes sat in 75 years ago.
I highly recommend the entire day as there is so much to see … I only had 4 hours and regret it. Will have to come back!!

Awesome museum and we’ll worth the trip and price of admission. Multiple buildings so don’t miss out.
It’s incredible to get this close or inside of one of these beautiful planes. So much information you could spend a day here.
Any staff we interacted with were incredibly nice and helpful.
Come out. Learn. Enjoy. And make sure to look up, down, and behind you. There’s so much stuff packed in here. The spruce goose, the blackbird sr 71, and so much more.

We've been here a bunch of times with our kids. Our last trip was with our Scouts BSA troop. The museum is really generous to scouts! We were able to camp on the museum grounds, and the staff was really excited, and really engaged with our Scouts! My son was really happy that one of the guides let them behind several of the barriers to get up cost and personal with several of the planes.
The museum is really excellent, and has a ton of interesting and historically significant artifacts, including the Spruce Goose, which is really impressive in person. The museum is divided into two main collections - air and space though the space museum has a bunch of planes and helicopters - including an SR-71!
They move things around and swap stuff in and out so that it's a different experience every time, though there seems to be a core set of planes that are always there -including the Spruce Goose obviously.
The theater plays mostly educational films related to flight or space in some way. They were playing a 3D movie about birds and a movie about Saturn's rings when we went.
The staff mentioned that the museum is under new management, who has plans to expand, including adding a restoration facility, a couple of hotels and some general improvements to the facilities. I believe they also mentioned a possible expansion of the water park. I don't know how concrete those plans are, but it would be cool to see the water park expanded - as is, it feels a little small and doesn't keep our kids interested for more than an hour or so - though having all of the water sides start out inside a 747 is pretty novel.
Overall, I highly recommend the museum. If you have kids in a scouting organization, like Cub Scouts or Scouts BSA, that goes double!

This place is huge! There is so much to see and explore and learn! Beautiful facility! Amazing to see all the wonderful technology and how far we’ve come. The diversity of planes to see was unbelievable. The cafe has basic food but they have a cafe nonetheless. I would say you need at least 5 hours checking this place out. I highly recommend this place!

A friend had told me about this museum prior to my recent road trip and I enjoy a good aerospace museum so I figured I’d check it out…
All I can say is WOW! I was absolutely floored from literally miles away when I saw the Evergreen 747 perched on top of a multi-story building, and it only got better from there! The variety in the collection is impressive, the architecture is stunning, and the staff were super friendly and helpful.
I had to force myself to leave so I could continue north, but I could have spent all day there. It’s a must-see museum for aviation and space enthusiasts.

This was a surprise! I mostly went because my husband and son wanted to go, but it was great! A must see Air museum for any aviation enthusiast and a great place to visit for just about anyone. The kids will absolutely love it as there are all kinds of aircrafts and a section dedicated to space craft and travel – the space museum. A big added attraction for kids (or perhaps the main attraction, depending on the ages and interests) would be the Wings and Waves water park. Would recommend spending at least a couple of hours in each exhibit hall – the air and the space museums. Of course one might end up spending more time at the air museum exhibit hall where the main attraction Hughes H-4 Hercules ‘Spruce Goose’ is displayed. There is a special tour of the Spruce Goose provided and you should factor in some time for that as well, should you decide to take it. It wasn’t crowded at all when we visited and you can spend enough time at each aircraft display, get to know more about them and their amazing history, take pictures.
You could take a break between the two exhibit halls as you can come back into the museum, the tickets are valid for multiple entries. This way you don’t overwhelm yourself in one straight stretch and get the most out of the trip. There is plenty of parking spaces available but it’s a good idea to get there early, especially if you are planning to spend the whole day visiting the museums and water park.

This museum is fantastic! There are a lot of aircraft and space exhibits that all have videos or placards explaining their significance. The space museum has more interactive areas for children than the aircraft portion, but both are filled with interesting things to see and learn. The Spruce Goose is awe aspiring, and seeing it in person is way more impressive than online. If you take it slow and read the placards and watch the videos, this easily makes for a few hours of fun for the family!

This is a great regional museum; the Spruce Goose is something everyone should see at least once!! I love the collection of airplanes and helicopters, but the Space exhibit has always been Luigi to the Airplane's Mario. Such a bummer they lost the bid for that Space Shuttle years ago. It's still good though, don't get me wrong!! The vibe is just a little different, with all the replicas. I'm surprised they've never added a Conference Center and hotel to the overall campus.

Outstanding collection of aircraft including famous one-of-a-kind Spruce Goose (Hughes H4 Hercules) and relatively rare SR-71 Blackbird with a more complete collection of its associated camera and sensor modules out for display than I’ve seen before. Exhibited aircraft are well-spaced and well-lit for easy photography in a beautiful indoor museum facility (not just a hangar). The docents were extremely knowledgeable and spent time educating and answering questions. A private tour of the Spruce Goose flight deck is available- well worth the extra charge.

Amazing summer snowboarding! Although the majority of the mountain was exposed volcanic ash, there were a decent amount of trails with slushy/playful snow. Park set-ups were a great playground to practice new tricks and perfect old ones. Never in my life did I think I would get to snowboard in a t-shirt. Incredibly memorable vacation.

Mount Hood, Oregon,USA. The mountain stands tall in the area around it for many miles alone and it is from volcanic origin. A must see area even if you are 100 miles away. There are a lot of trail around it and it is a magnet for hikers of the area. Not to be missed. Two highway run south and east of it. Driving those two highways gives you a sense of how big is it.

From the first time I traveled to Portland Oregon, to visit my Grandmother. She owned a house at the edge of a park on Mt. Tabor, I have admired the beauty of this gorgeous dormant volcano that rises up above the Columbia River Gorge. If you have never been you really need to experience it up close and personal. The violent way that this region was built has given us these awe-inspiring extremely beautiful landscapes. As always leave it better than you found it for generations to come, enjoy 😉

Summited Mt. Hood with two friends on July 24, 2022 up the Old Chute Route. It was a challenging and rewarding experience!
We got to the Timberline Lodge around 7PM on 7/23 and got our wilderness passes from the Wy’East Lodge. Make sure you bring headlamps, trekking poles, an ice axe and crampons! You will likely need all of those things to reach the top.
We slept in a van in the parking lot until 2AM. Once we woke up, we made some instant coffee and headed to the mountain. We hiked for about 2 hours until we reached a place where our boots were slipping in the snow. That’s where we put on crampons. We used crampons for pretty much the rest of the climb.
We reached the summit of Old Chute around 6:45AM. Once we made it to the top, we ate a quick snack and took some pictures. Then, we started the descent.
We got back to the van around 12PM. All told, we were on the mountain for about 10 hours. It was a fantastic time, and quite challenging! If you’re planning on summiting, make sure you do some research beforehand. We rented mountaineering boots, crampons, ice axes and helmets from “The Mountain Shop” in Portland. This is definitely a climb where you want the right kind of gear.

Climbed it for the first time last weekend. Being a holiday it was more crowded and I think took longer than normal. Still, easy enough climb up until the final ascent where it gets technical. Only had 1 ice ax and definitely wish I had two

This is right next to the Timberline Lodge (which is a must-visit place, the history of that place is incredible). The mountain view is breathtaking and makes you appreciate nature and sparks your curiosity. We spent some time walking around soaking in the view and taking pictures. Then we visited the lodge and learned so much about the amazing history of that place.

In the first days of our trip, we took nature walks around Mount Hood and enjoyed it very much, we had a very enjoyable time, we took hundreds of photos of the waterfall. Then we saw such neat places and had such different experiences that when we look back, my wife said that it was like a municipal cultural park here, next to the others. In the end, I'm posting this here by saying that every photo with a combination of mountain, stone, water, family is worth sharing 😬❤️
It felt pretty cool to walk in the woods on snow again. It made me start thinking about winter adventures to be had again, soon. ❄ 😊💙

The city of Mt Hood and the huge mountain itself is just off of the Columbia River which separates Washington State from Oregon. There is snow at its peak 365 days a year and it’s huge! This is a great place to visit or stay. The city of My Hood is situated just west of The Dalles Oregon and is a quaint little town and the mountain is just south of the city. There are hotels, Airbnb, small pubs and a microbrewery downtown. Plenty of things to do such as hiking around Mt Hood Park, off road driving the fire trails around the mountain, fishing for sturgeon in the Columbia, visiting and touring the dam and local parks to enjoy the outside weather. There are giant waterfalls nearby and just across the Hood River bridge, there’s a little town called White Salmon Washington located way up on the hill overlooking the city of Mt Hood. There are restaurants and pubs and a small grocery store there as well. You can’t purchase alcohol on Sunday in Washington State but you can in Oregon! It only took me about five minutes to figure that out when I lived there back in 2018. All in all this is no doubt one of the most beautiful places to visit or live in the country. There’s nothing like the forests of the Pacific Northwest! Just have to be careful not to disturb Bigfoot!

Mount hood is a beautiful area to explore with many vantage points to see the mountain. Several lakes in the area have resorts, camping and rec opportunities. There is tons of dispersed camping around as well. It's so amazing to see mount hood in all its glory.

Really beautiful area. Great to hike!! Try to use byroads, it is well worth it. Bring plenty of water with you and make sure you have a full tank of gas. Service areas are sparse and few AND close really early. This is a must see at least once in your life!! The whole area is beautiful!!

Mt. Hood is always very nice experience. Picturesque view, pleasant weather, nice trails. Parking in this area is slightly inconvenient, and essentially no place to eat, but those factors should not affect the rating of a place that is meant for hiking/mountain climbing.

Great beautiful mountain I saw it all the way, and we got closer right at the Timberline Lodge. Amazingly, the ski resort was still open and operating normally. The mountain looks even better when you are right there. A very nice stop and great view here at the lodge. You can also see another snow covered mountain from the lodge -- Mt. Adams of Washington. Very worth to have a stop here and enjoy the great mountain view.
The Oregon Zoo is a large zoo with many different animal exhibits. It is focused on promoting conservation and has many endangered animal species.
Went on the first of January and they still had some snow from the week before but all the pathways were very well cleaned and salted. Couldn’t see some of the animals because of the cold I guess (it was a 27° kind of day). Some staff giving out some good information here and there like in the polar bear place. Cute Christmas lights all around and enough coffee and food shops. Some fun places for kids all ages to play around too. Totally wheelchair and stroller accessible.

07/08/23: the ticket is $24 per non-membership adult, and I thought it was a little bit expensive for a zoo ticket. However, the zoo experience did not disappoint me, and I enjoyed every minute of there
There are tons of animal shows which are at 11:15 am and 1 pm. We visited on Saturday morning, and it got crowded quickly with parents and children.
The Oregon Zoo is completely beating the Seattle Zoo in many factors: animal diversity, sceneries, and food trucks. I would love to be back soon

fun zoo the pathway is a little confusing sometimes and did cause us to backtrack to see the penguins. By far the coolest seal enclosure I've seen. the elephants seem well taken care of with lots of space compared to other zoo's. we went on a very hot day so some of the animals were away which I cant blame them one bit. overall good zoo experience. we have a 2 year old that almost never got out of her stroller cause she was tired and the zoo is very stroller accessible.

It's worth the membership.
I have a toddler and anytime we need an activity this is an easy go-to. The animals are well treated, the staff is decently friendly and, more importantly to me, trustworthy.
Twice I've lost items that were sent straight to the lost and found by the time i exited the park.
Plan ahead! See any of these viewings and you won't be disappointed:
Penguin feeding, Bird show, Elephant bath
You can also pet goats in the mornings, if you're into that sort of thing.
My toddler loves the train ride! It's super short and you won't see animals, but we always enjoy a little choochoo ride.
Find the harbor seals and the otters! They are my personal favorites.
I'm adding some holiday zoo lights photos as well.

This is definitely one of the most unique zoos I have every been to. It was beautiful with huge enclosures for all of their animals. I was especially impressed that you can see the animals pretty much anywhere they were in their enclosure. There are several ways to view each enclosure so you can be sure that you will get to see almost every animal they have. When we arrived at the zoo the bear cubs were high up in a tree and you could see them from the front gate. That was pretty awesome! My favorite enclosure was for the polar bears. They were playing in the water and were the most active I have ever seen polar bears in a zoo. There appears to be a lot of enrichment for the animals at this zoo and they appear to be pretty content. While we were there I would say we saw 95% of the animals they have which is pretty good in my experience. Usually there are animals put away or in areas that you cannot see. The way the zoo is laid out is really nice as well. We were there on a Tuesday morning in April and the zoo was fairly empty. It was really easy to get around and spend as much time as we wanted at each animal enclosure. I would definitely recommend going to this zoo if you are near Portland.

With a membership it’s a steal! Me and my kid and their friend were free. Only 21 for my boyfriend. Today was extra special because my daughter got to see her favorite animal -the cheetah up and close. We also saw an elephant playing with toys and numerous other animals! This zoo is a beautiful place set with numerous walking paths through wooded areas. A little water fall along the path and plenty of areas where kids can play. Good eats and you may also pack your own food. Just a word of caution…it’s very stinky in the area of the penguins and bats, so plug your nose! My kid wanted to leave immediately and I was hoping she would stay to watch the penguins more. Enjoyed the carousel and watching the train. You can easily spend all day here! Also, FYI the bathrooms near the elephants have more stalls than the front. If you need to go, that’s where you go!

This zoo was nice...I could see all the animals. When u get there....u need to get a parking ticket. Price is determined on how many hours u are gonna stay. Then I noticed that I needed to buy my ticket online so did that by the entrance...very fast...done. I enjoyed the zoo even though it was raining this day.

Wife and I had a great time at the Oregon zoo. It was amazing to see the Polar bears. The zoo keeper calling them so that the public could see. They have a great structure in the zoo. Nice food (must try the elephant ears), great washrooms, lots of places ti site and take some rest. You can see the animals are well cared for. The gift shop is also a great stop, with lots of sustainable gifts. Staff is very polite and helpful.

A bit pricey at $24 per person, but overall a great experience. We visited on a Sunday and even with timed-ticket entry the zoo was crowded. There were multiple animal "shows" like scheduled feedings that were fun to watch. Very well planned walking path through the zoo, so visitors can view an animal enclosure from all sides and multiple angles.

Our family loves visiting this zoo. Besides normal visits, throughout the year, the zoo hosts fun events, like zoo lights, zoo nights, Halloween, etc. Our son loves looking at the variety of animals, especially the ones he has particular interest. The zoo also has a train he loved riding on, which does cost for each family member to ride on. If you plan on visiting more than twice I'd recommend getting an annual pass. Also, keep in mind you'll need to reserve a time slot before arriving. A great place to enjoy any time of the year!

This zoo is a really fun place to take your child. I've also taken dates here in the past and that was also fun. There are so many exhibits to see and interact with. Plenty of statues, and photo opportunities. The only problem I had was how expensive the food and drinks were. If I could give you one piece of advice it would be to bring all of your own food and drinks. You are allowed to bring your own so take advantage of it and do it. The zoo is already expensive unless you are low income and can show you receive food stamps or TANF. The elephant exhibit is amazing and I suggest seeing it.

Best medium sized zoo I've been to. The winding paths and elevation gains and losses create an adventure walk. Everything seems very well designed, organized, and enjoyable. The one way design makes navigating the crowds easier. Lots of food options about half way through is great. Elephant ears were a hit and we enjoyed the lunch we packed under a 4 bench picnic table with an umbrella. It was a workout making our way back up to the entrance. If we had more time, we would have enjoyed the train ride. Plan to go back if in town again in future.

Beautiful zoo! We went in late summer-early fall when the zoo was full of gorgeous flowers and plants between the exhibits which made for an amazing nature walk. The animals seemed well taken care of and happy. Fairly easy parking available with a lot of restrooms throughout the zoo and even free water filling stations which were nice on a hot day. They also have places you can buy lunch, dinner, etc; however, it is pretty expensive. For a water be prepared to pay $4+ and I believe a pb & j was pushing $7-10. You can bring your own picnic stuff though so come prepared. We didn’t make it into their store to shop as the day went by too quickly and we ran out of time. Check-in was simple with a quick scan of our mobile tickets. The online ticket situation was a bit confusing as they didn’t make it clear with the timed entry if that meant you only had a certain amount of time to be inside the zoo or they just wanted an idea how many people where inside. We were never told we had to leave in a set amount of time which was nice as the zoo takes several hours to make it through. The paths were clearly marked, they also have a zoo map available online and we also rode the zoo train that was fairly priced and our younger child really enjoyed it. Note there are not many animals you can see other than than elephants if they are where you can see them. It was a great family outing and we plan to go back again in a few years.

We did the Zoo Lights event! It was very well organized, free over flow parking with free bus ride to the front gates. There were some concession up with things like kettle corn, and elephant ears. The train ride is fun and you get so see even more lights. They do an amazing job getting so many lighted displays up. My 5 year old daughter really loved train and the trees that were wrapped in lights. The bug house was open for warming up and for viewing bugs. Most animals were not viewable, but elephants are awake at night and we were able to go to the indoor viewing area. 3 elephants were in their playing and eating! The keep was setting out hay bales to reach for and eat. It was wonderful.
It was sold out… but felt a bit crowded for my liking. Our group worn fun Christmas lights and it made it easier to keep track of each other with so many other people around.

Went to the Oregon Zoo with family. Age range from 65 to 1 ½, with stroller.
Nice February Sunday afternoon. Everyone had a good time. A lot of the activities / informative shows were not in operation. Some animals were not visible, hibernating or just hiding. We still had an enjoyable time
I definitely recommend.

first of all this zoo is amazing! not only do the animals looks happy, it’s a gorgeous place to walk through, but what we really noticed the most was the staff! The staff were so vibrant and happy to share their love for the animals they care for. I felt this zoo is underrated and should be more famous. The setting is beautifully done and each animal is given a lot of space to move around unlike the typical zoos. Probably this was the reason, every animal in here was actively moving around rather than lethargically lying in a corner. This makes it a fun experience for adults and kids alike. There were also some unusual exhibits like - Vultures feeding on a whole deer carcass which you can view at your own discretion, a beaver who has an underwater home inside a tunnel, weaver birds busy weaving pretty nests, playful otters, a mountain goat and much more. It's divided into ecosystems like African savanna, Polar passage, Primate forest, Great Northwest etc. There are other interactive experiences at different times and also a zoo train for five bucks. We went two hours before closing and had to rush through everything to complete on time. Ample amount of paid parking available.

You can be Around 10am or 11am is perfect and you could see Wild animals shows. And They feed to animals that around noon or 1pm. You can see them how to eat and enjoy the meals. Restrooms are clean mostly. Cafe and restaurant are pretty ok and little bit pricey. Parking lots are big but sometimes overcrowded. Summer time Friday and Saturday are busiest days. Sunday is little bit less people. But still busy. Animals mostly are happy and napping all the time. They seemed to clean up cages a lots. Kids have a great time. Best family time in Portland Oregon.

Wonderful place for an easy and sweet date! We have a membership and popping over for a quick visit is so relaxing. Consider visiting on a hot day. Our last trip was over 90 degrees and the zoo was pretty empty. They set up misting stations and have cool drinks and plenty of shade. We were able to enjoy the trip without overheating!

Wow what an amazing zoo! The amount of trees and shade is wonderful on a hot day, the animals had a lot of room to roam and looked very healthy, and all the facilities were well kept.
We came on a Friday morning when they opened. We bought our tickets via mobile phone maybe 15 minutes before we entered prior to getting into our car to drive there. There was still a decent amount of availability. Entering was easy with the QR code we received.
We saw some otters, bears, went on a merry-go-round, and had a blast!

We really do have a nice Zoo. The animals were all out and lively. The Red Panda was so adorable, I didn't get pictures, though. The Lions are just so majestic, I dropped everything and took pics of them.
However, the so-so food is really over priced, and they close way too early. They wouldn't let us go into the gift shop 30 minutes before closing. We were ready to overspend in there, but they were more concerned with closing the doors on time. That's fine. We will just bring our own food next time, and go earlier I guess.

The Zoo is a everlasting source of joy, offering year-round fun for all ages. With kids in tow, our visits are never hurried, and that's part of the charm—we always discover something new every time we visit.
Having cherished memories of this zoo since my own childhood, I've witnessed remarkable changes. The upgrades and new exhibits have transformed it into a captivating space. And let's talk about the Zoo Lights—it's a must-see! While there may not be many animals on display during this event, the breathtaking lights make up for it.
The Zoo Lights experience is pure magic. The dazzling display creates a spectacular atmosphere, and the best part is, you can go at your own pace. It's a mesmerizing journey that adds an extra layer of enchantment to this already fantastic place.
In summary, the Zoo offers not just a fun time but also a touch of magic, especially during Zoo Lights. The upgrades and thoughtful additions have truly elevated the experience. Highly recommend for families and anyone seeking a delightful escape!

I love this zoo. It is constantly improving. I've been going to the Oregon Zoo for 30+ years. It was fun to spend the day reminiscing about the way it used to look. Where the entrance used to be. What animals and events I'd been to over the many years. I love the knowledge of the volunteers and the friendliness of the staff. The animal enrichment keeps the animals rewarded and engaged and is so fun to watch. Membership is worth the price.

First off, I really liked the loop design where you follow a one-way path all the way through. The exhibits are organized into biomes, and the Pacific Northwest part was my favorite due to the shade and tree coverage above the walkways. Good and semi-reasonable priced cafes at the entrance and exit. Also plenty of restrooms and water fountains throughout.

The Oregon Zoo is absolutely amazing. I especially appreciate their elephant habitat. It is absolutely huge compared to any other zoo. They do a great job at providing their elephants with space. There is an enormous indoor space for when it rains. There is an elephant size pool, deep enough that the elephants can actually swim. The enclosure wraps around a significant portion of the zoo. Elephants can range quite a distance. Zoos are always a bitter sweet experience. Seeing such a large variety of majestic wild animals in one place is a great educational opportunity. On the flip side seeing the animals confined to enclosures instead of ranging freely in nature is always a bit sad. The Oregon Zoo does a great job of balancing the quality of life for their animals against the ability of the public to view and experience the animals.
Daniel Green — Google review
I was impressed. One of the most beautiful zoos I've been to and the high quality of animal care was apparent. We saw some playing tigers and bear cubs, a young orangutan, and something I'd never seen up close before - sea otters! The interpretation was also good at noting conservation efforts for the species and how guests can take action themselves.
A few critical notes. The zoo key felt like being robbed since the machines were hard to locate and rarely worked. We also were turned off by the large cutouts of cartoon animals stationed around the zoo. I think they were going for a fun whimsical take on wildlife, and sure, art is subjective, but our group found them to be rather undignified and running counter to the zoo's apparent goal of encouraging respect for animals. The other upsells like the carousel and train were also pretty underwhelming.
All in all a good visit and worth taking a look. Just please be respectful and kind when observing the animals!

Loved loved loved!! Absolutely amazing how the zoo felt like it was part of the natural landscape. Amazingly curated of animals with educational information to learn more about the individual animals and its species. The way the zoo flows just makes sense and keeps the flow of people moving.

If you appreciate roses and beautiful gardens with pleasant pathways, and stonework in general, you’ll love the International Rose Test Garden at Washington Park.
This lush, tranquil and large garden setting is a perfect place to get your mind off the mundane day to day whilst taking a stroll or reading a book. I would recommend the summer months til October for the optimal experience as the roses are obviously not blooming in winter through early Spring (not sure why some reviewers were so surprised at this). Parking right now in October is best especially if you’re going on a week day, if you want to have a good experience here and avoid crowds definitely go on like a Monday.
Finally I’d recommend taking your time to fully enjoy the blooms, beautiful greenery and lovely setting, it’s a garden so strolling is best not a place to grab a few choice shots and then be off…

They allow you to walk along the rows, trusting you won't touch the roses or bees pollinating the flowers. Basically, leave no trace behind.
There's different sections from the test garden, gold medal garden, Shakespeare Garden, climbing roses, miniature roses, landscape roses, shrub roses, grandiflora roses, floribunda roses, etc... Even if not a rose or flower expert, you can easily appreciate and learn about the many different varieties of roses. Definitely worth the free cost to walk around the roses.

We visited just to get a preview of what to expect in the spring. Loved the lay out, plenty of space. It seems to have a good variety of rose plants... love the serenity!

So wonderful! I love the rose snow ones in the summer, but year round the whole place is gorgeous. I wish there were more sheltered spaces so people could come and enjoy the view in the winter months, but it's a cute spot! Bathrooms are not the cleanest, but what can you really expect from a public park?

Beautiful park. If you love nature you will find it breathtaking...the flowers didn't bloom yet, but the park is beautiful

Very nice and peaceful place to go for a walk. When the roses are blooming they look great right now I'll have to wait until spring. I highly recommend this location.
The Portland Japanese Garden is a tranquil, peaceful space with features like a waterfall and teahouse that offer stunning views of the cityscape. The garden is composed of five different styles of gardens spread over 5.5 acres and offers visitors a chance to learn more about Japanese culture through displays and activities.
You should definitely check out this Japanese Garden if you're in the area because it is totally worth it. You have to pay an admission fee to enter but it's not a lot and you're supporting the garden. You have to take a small hike to go to the main entrance but it is well worth it. They have a little cafe here but there isn't a lot of options so just be aware. The view that you get of the waterfall, design and being with nature is wonderful. You can spend a good 30 minutes just walking around and enjoying your view. There are also workers around the garden as well if you need help or someone to take your picture. We really like the main little waterfall that they have here. Parking is not free I think so just be aware that you might have to pay for that as well. They have a little gift shop where my wife got an earring from. Just follow the pathway and you won't get lost.

The garden was beautiful! It was a little smaller than I expected, but it had nicely paved paths, nice spring blooms and a peaceful vibe. The queue for the Japanese cafe inside is super long, so make sure to reserve your spot first thing when you get in. Would be even more beautiful if the cherry blossoms weren't at the end of their bloom.

Definitely worth a visit! It was super peaceful and so beautiful. They have tours there but it seemed like most just walked through on their own. It’s not huge so you can get through it somewhat quick so take your time. The paths are uneven but there was a sign saying they did that on purpose so you would be forced to take your time. It’s all very intentional which is super cool. All the sounds of nature are really pretty and it’s well groomed. Bought our tickets ahead of time so we got in pretty quick at our allotted time. There is parking up top and I think it’s a couple bucks an hour but we just walked our way in. I’m sure the parking fills up quick though. There’s a nice little cafe and gift shop and information center at the top before you walk into the garden as well. The gift shop was cool and it seemed like the cafe had some authentic options.

Really lovely, the map you get given does look like it's a big place but when you walk around, it's actually not as big as you think. So take your time, enjoy it. It really is an amazing piece of artwork.

Absolutely stunning and peaceful. The beautiful nature combined with the maintenance of the garden is just incredible. So many beautiful statues, structures, settings, and more. We went on a lightly rainy day and walked around for approximately 3 hours. It was definitely a hike, so be prepared shoe wise. Be respectful.

At first I thought the price for entry was a bit on the pricey side, but I think it was well worth it. The garden was very peaceful and relaxing. Went in the morning when it was still cool and crisp out. The sounds of the flowing streams and the few small waterfalls while staring at the zen garden make all the difference. 10/10

The Portland Japanese Gardens extraordinarily beautiful. I happened to go when it was a perfect day and I enjoyed every aspect of it. I read some complaints about the hike up, but to that help to segment the garden to its own world. The gift shops were really awesome. There were a pretty large variety of items to purchase. On top of that there was a showcase of art right next to it. The garden itself has multiple sections to walk through. Each segment had its own unique identity. Truly my only complaint about the garden is one it’s entrance fee and two it’s size. I felt that for how small it was the fee was not up to par. If it was bigger I’d honestly be completely okay with how much I spent. Though I wouldn’t let that deter any new newcomers because it’s still an amazing experience.

Walk into a place of tranquility and rediscovery. This is oasis hidden among the city. A leisurely walk through the garden will put your state of mind of calmness and escaping the day to day. The views are beautiful. The bonsai trees are a very welcoming addition. Go from place to place and see what a bit of meditation can bring around. Take in the air in its purest form. This is definitely a place that I'll come back to visit again. Gift shop, restrooms, and a fairly decent sized restaurant. There are plenty of customer service attendants walking around if you do have questions regarding the area. Go by and see. Look into your own personal life and see what happens.

Beautiful, of course. Can't take in outside food or drinks. There is ramps in places, but a lot of stairs and uneven ground. Lots of benches to stop rest or take it all in. Think fall would be the best time to come and enjoy the mapels showing off and a nice chill in the air

Very beautiful Japanese garden. A wonderful and educational place for family pastime and enjoy Japanese culture. We walked for 2 hours and enjoyed it very much. We managed to see the feeding of koi carp, it was very interesting for the children. Beautiful and very picturesque place, solitude and peace. Wonderful gift shop. There is a restaurant nearby in case you get hungry after a 2 hour walk through this incredible place. The price justifies expectations. Thank you very much, we will definitely be back.

Our early October visit to the Portland Japanese Gardens provided us a monochromatic view of the beauty of the gardens. Having read some of the Google Maps Reviews, we saw how other visitors have contributed photos of beautiful gardens full of color. We missed that season by months, but that didn’t take away from our visit. We were fascinated by the textures, the variety of steps, the water. Even though the clouds were low and it began to lightly rain, it didn’t distract from our visit.
We did take advantage of the free shuttle to the top of the hill and enjoyed our stroll down.
There are no restrooms by the entrance; they are at the top of the hill.
Would love to return and visit during the other seasons.

This is an oasis in Portland. The grounds are meticulously kept, and the buildings are beautiful recreations of historic Japanese structures. There are tours offered, a gift shop, and a modern tea house on site. However, it was an hour and a half wait on the Sunday we visited, so we had to skip it. It is a hike to get from the shuttle drop off area or parking to the top of the hill where this resides but there is also a free shuttle back and forth from the top fi you need it. Limited options for refreshments: On Sunday afternoon we went, I was informed they had sold out of water, but there were a few water fountains available. The bathrooms are nice, and the garden areas are varied. Your experience may be affected by others who don't understand keeping their voices subdued in tranquil and relaxing settings. There are plenty of small seating areas to enjoy some snatched privacy or the views. On a clear day like we had you can also catch an amazing view of Mount Baker in the distance towering over the city.

I go here every month with my family and it’s so fun! Never gets boring. It has a very nice cafe and gift shop :) I got my friend a really nice birthday gift from there. 10/10 would definitely recommend! Although I suggest getting a membership because it can get really crowded on some days.

Very nice design. It has three levels, ground entry level, middle exhibition level, and garden level. You can enjoy the design concept that combines artificial with nature in an elegant way. You need to spend at least 1 hour to appreciate the beauty of the garden.

This place is beautiful! Very relaxing and amazing place to take pictures. My girls really enjoyed the fish and site seeing. They have a Cafe restaurant, a gift shop, a learning center and bathrooms. The walk is not crazy long but it took is about 1 1/2 hours to go through it all. Most of it is up hill , with some leveled areas. If you have never been it's definitely a place to try out.
Parking was tight lots of people on a Sunday. You have to pay for parking and then line up to pay the entrance fee. Children 5 and younger are free.

What a great start to our weekend Portland trip. The grounds are beautiful and so well maintained. It took us about 1.5 hours to wander the grounds. The only feedback I would give is that when I researched the garden before going it did not mention that there is a bit of a hike to even get to the garden. I navigated it fine but I could see this being an obstacle for others.

This is definitely one of my favorite places in Portland and one of my favorite garden spaces in the country. What a gem of a space. Definitely sign up for a tour as it is time well spent getting the background and history of the space and learning about all of the thoughtfulness and intentionality that went into this beautiful space. It was great to catch a tea ceremony demonstration and to have tea in the tea house at the end. This is one place in Portland I will plan to visit on every trip.

It is best to arrive early to avoid the crowds and truly soak in the serenity. This was my first time, and even at 11am on a summer Wednesday, there were lots of people on the paths. There's a lot to enjoy from the bonsai, trees, bushes, bamboo, coi fish, stone pathways, streams, and gift shops. It was inspiring to consider some of these designs for my own garden.

This is a wonderful place to stroll through. The ticket price is justifiable considering this is a private funded garden. We spent 2 hours walking through. Fun art installments and gift shop. Not to mention the cultural performers. This is a fun outing and worth a visit. Thank you Portland Japanese Garden!

Probably THE Most popular tourist place in Portland city. Claimed to be the biggest Japanese garden in north America. True to the fame, the garden is really well designed and staffed. Beautiful view throughout the year. Often you can find surprise local Japanese capture presentations at the site for free. Also right next to the Japanese garden is the beautiful rose garden. so lot of things to do there. At the top of the hill, some time it could get chilly. Bring a thick jacket if needed.

The Portland Japanese Garden is a serene oasis that offers a tranquil and beautiful escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. As you wander through the paths, you’re greeted with meticulously maintained landscapes that showcase the art of Japanese gardening. Each area of the garden has its unique charm, from the peaceful Koi ponds to the stunningly manicured trees and plants.
The attention to detail in every aspect of the garden is remarkable. It’s a place where you can truly appreciate the changing seasons, each bringing its own unique beauty. The garden also offers lovely views of the city, adding to its charm.
The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, contributing to an overall welcoming atmosphere. It’s a perfect spot for contemplation, photography, or simply a peaceful walk. A visit to the Portland Japanese Garden is a must for anyone looking to experience a slice of tranquility and beauty.

If you're out in Portland visiting, I highly recommend coming here! It was raining when I went, but I was still able to see everything the garden had to offer. The views are absolutely breathtaking, and there's enough to keep you occupied at least for half of the day. It wasn't too crowded either and very peaceful to walk around the garden. There's a decent sized parking lot, but you do have to pay. Also, you do have to walk uphill and climb a few stairs to get to the actual garden as a fair warning. But I had a great experience and would come back again!
franchesica kilt — Google review
If you’re coming here you probably have an interest in Japanese gardens or wanted a pretty place to be in nature whether by yourself or with friends and family, well I have to say it was indeed beautiful.
I’d say if you were to really speed run the sites you can walk through the whole park in 30 minutes to an hour but considering we should be mindful of the details that go into this beautiful garden I’d say if you’re an adult you can properly take in the sites and surroundings in 1.5-2 hours. So many small details and signs of beauty you would miss if you hurry through.
It was a great way to spend the day, it was gorgeous and I really did feel at peace here while trying to be mindful of the work the staff put into maintaining this beautiful garden. On a clear day there’s a wonderful view of Mt. Hood? And you could spend much longer than 1.5-2 hours there if you chose to do so. You can walk up from the entrance to the main gardens or there is a bus and or parking that can get you up to the main attractions (I think). There’s also an area in the gardens where they hold exhibits, the current miniature exhibit (as of 02/24) was great and interesting and I’d recommend checking it out as well.
There were no real negatives but I’ll list out what I wish I knew, as of now (02/24) the koi aren’t out in their usual numbers as they are doing something to keep them healthy until spring time comes in. And the traditional tea house is not what’s generally open to the public but a place where you can take photos of and walk by. I’m sure you can reserve a tea ceremony somehow, but I was excited to drink tea in a traditional tea house and didn’t realize the tea house/cafe on site was more modern (yet good and welcoming but not what I was hoping to do while here).
Overall it’s gorgeous, a good time and when in Portland I’d recommend checking it out for sure, even in the winter (02/24) it was gorgeous and I can’t wait to experience this place during the different seasons!

We went 3/24 - the cherry blossoms were gorgeous and in full bloom, along with the camellias and magnolias. It was a wonderful stroll but definitely not very accessible, lots of stone pathways and rocky slopes. I would also suggest putting your name in for the cafe when you first get there - you can then enjoy the garden and have tea after as there is usually a long wait it seems.

I've been to the Portland Japanese Garden twice, once with a buddy of mine and then again with my partner. It's such a tranquil environment to spend some time in a controlled and well-organized mixture of culture nature. The garden itself isn't huge and you can explore a lot of it in a couple of hours, but I would recommend taking your time in viewing the scenery and experiencing the places with all senses possible.
If you're able to go on a weekday, it's especially well worth your money, as there are less people and you can enjoy the calmness of the environment. My partner and I went here on Valentine's Day and had an amazing first part of our day. It can get distracting and hectic here on the weekends with more people and a lot of kids involved, which I feel can be detracting from the place, though they do a good job attempting to combat that problem by setting a limit on how many people can enter at a certain time.
The garden is different during all four seasons, and now my partner and I want to experience all of them together. There are a lot of reasons to go back besides that, though. It's a nice way to spend some time and decompress while still being outside and feeling productive. They have a cute little café and gift shop. Employees are kind and knowledgeable, and they look happy to work at this place.

Our visit to the Portland Japanese Garden was really nice. Walking through the garden felt like stepping into a peaceful place, far away from the usual hustle and bustle. The paths, the well-kept plants, and the calm atmosphere made our time there very enjoyable. The Umami Cafe offered We especially liked the small ponds and the view. It's clear a lot of care goes into keeping the garden beautiful. Adding to the experience, the Umami Cafe offered great-tasting tea and pastries that are definitely worth trying. We had a great time and definitely recommend a visit.

Wrapping 2023 in a peaceful and tranquil place. As soon as you walk in the garden you feel relaxed and your mind quiets down. Everything looks so green and fresh in the rain, I’m sure that spring time is gorgeous with all the flowers, I will have to go back to check it out then. There is a little cute shop when you get to the top of the gardens and also a miniature sculptures exhibit. On a nice clear day you can see mount Hood. There is enough parking space but you have to pay for parking, and of course a restroom on premises.
Multnomah Falls is a picturesque spot that attracts visitors with its striking cascade of over 600 ft tall. The Multnomah Falls Lodge, which was saved from the fire, is now open again through the Interstate 84 parking lot and serves as the best way to visit this beautiful location. The waterfall features an old bridge that adds to its uniqueness and romance, surrounded by nice hiking trails that offer between half an hour to a couple of hours of outdoor activities.
Wow! I have driven by many times but this was my first trip all the way to the top. Beautiful views and a strenuous hike up 11 switch backs.

I was lucky enough to see Multnomah Falls in a huge snowstorm in February 2023.
There were only a few people there, so I not only got a front row seat to the amazing falls, I also got the opportunity to get some great photos of the falls in the snow.

The falls are of course beautiful and impressive! It is quite enjoyable on a less-crowded day. The trail beyond the main viewpoint leads up to the top of the falls and offers some great views.

Tourist Trap. Yes I had a good time. The trail has beautiful views at certain spots. The bottom has the best view of the waterfall, hiking to the top is great but nothing spectacular. Paid Permit required. Very Crowded, but it’s a great place to take kids for a nice workout. Nice Random Benches. Overall it was a nice hike on a beautiful day.

This is definitely a must visit place. There is parking across the highway and adjacent to the falls. Parking could be hard to get on a busy day. We went on the new years day and it was packed. There was no parking slots available and I had to park my car a mile away and walk all the way to the falls. But that was definitely worth it. You can hike all the way up and the trail is well maintained. There is a gift shop and small cafe.

Simply best of the best place to visit. Ours second time here, reached early by 10am to avoid parking issue. A short hike to the bridge view point and has couple short hikes if you would like. Came at around sunset on a Sunday. Was not too crowded and the falls were beautiful. There's a small hike up to the bridge and the bridge itself and onwards is pretty slick and icy, but you shouldn't need to go further than that for views.

Such a beautiful waterfall the Multnomah Falls has. The view is totally worth it if you make out the drive to here. Just be aware that if they get too busy then they won't let you in which we saw happen. My friend dropped us off in the front and went to park his car but afterwards they stopped letting people from the parking lot in because there were too many people. You'll enjoy the view of the waterfall from the bottom or at the bridge. The hike to the bridge is not too bad but the hike to the top of the waterfall to oversee the top edge from the waterfall can be difficult. My wife and I was able to do it but we saw some older couple give up or was very tired by the time they got to the top. The viewing deck from the top is not that big so if they are busy, you'll just have to wait. If you're into hiking or exploring then the hike to the top is worth it. If you're not into hiking then you might like the view from the top because it's nothing too exciting.

You need to reserve a spot online (at a minimum, the day before unless you want a later in the day slot), it’s only $2 per group. Recommend either going to one of the first morning slots or sometime after noon due to the sun. Once it’s overtop, it makes for a glare. It’s definitely busy here. It’s 1 mile zigzag to the top of the falls, to the bridge it’s like .2 miles.
You can see it from the Highway as well.

One of the longest waterfall in Portland. Short walk from the parking to the base of the fall. Only 5 min hike from base to the bridge - must visit. Plenty of parking sports, gift shop, food and clean restroom at the starting point. I would at least plan for an hour to visit this place to enjoy the beauty! Kids and pet friendly. Drones are not allowed! Last hike from bridge to the top of the fall is only 1 mile but moderate complexity so make sure your knees are prepared for it going up and coming back down. It gets a bit muddy so have waterproof hiking shoes with you if you plan to enjoy the best view from the top of the waterfall. Enjoy!

This is a definite stop for anyone who wants a beautiful pic of an iconic waterfall. Parking is easy and a short flat walk to the gift shop. It's a bit uphill from the shop to the first view point. For most this is all you'll need to get your fill. If you are in good shape, you can take the path up to the bridge, which is your second view point. You'll get a great view of the Columbia River. The last bite point is at the top of the falls. This hike is not for the faint of heart! The sign reads 1 mile but it's all uphill, no breaks. 11+ switch backs that get progressivly longer until you get to the top. I almost turned around but glad I didn't! It's a fantastic view once you get there!

Beautiful location to stop and see the nature. The hike to the bridge is very easy, but can be very crowded. Make sure to get a ticket in advance online to get quick access! They will not let you leave the parking lot to go under the highway tunnel and get to the falls without a ticket, and we did not have phone service in the parking lot and would have had to leave if we did not do it in advance. Easy to fill out online.

Visited during the late morning hours in early February, not overly crowded at that time. There is an accessable parking area and ramp for people who may need those types of accommodations. The viewpoint from the bottom of the falls is fairly easy to access, a quick walk from the parking lot, and there also trails to the bridge and other areas around the falls. On site were clean restrooms, a gift shop, a place to receive information from a Park Ranger, as well as a restaurant. This place is absolutely beautiful, 100% recommend visiting, even if it's raining/foggy/cold- the views are worth getting out for.

Stunning and breathtaking. Best thing is that this place is hardly 30 mins from downtown Portland. Scenic drive with views all around, ample parking and a very short trek to the bridge. Even the top of the fall is accessible post a 1 mile trek. It’s one of the most beautiful waterfalls I have ever seen. User friendly trails. Picturesque.
The cafe and the gift shop is cool too with the falls as its backdrop. A must visit place for all.

We just had a short stay here for our 8 year anniversary, but my husband and i had a lot of fun staying at one of the treehouses, mini-golfing, going to the aerial park, enjoying the gorgeous scenery, and eating all the good food. The room was very clean and cozy, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were all so very kind, warm, and welcoming. I'd love to come back here and try axe-throwing, zip-lining, and whatever else we may have missed. So much to do in such a beautiful place.

The staff was amazing. From the front desk, the gift shop and restaurant to the amazing guides on the zip line tour. Kelly and Lori were awesome. The bed was way stiff for our liking and there was a wedding that had music shaking the building until 10. But the experience was money well spent. I recommend the river view rooms, spend the extra money!

Such a fun experience! Highly recommend. Even in a drizzle, it didn’t matter! The trees keep you from being wet and uncomfortable AND the course is a great blend of quick and lengthier zips. We had a great time, good conversation and made joyful memories while visiting close to home.

My wife and I had a great time last weekend on the Zip Line tour. Our guides Kelly and Bella did a great job. If you get a chance we highly recommend giving it a try.
Matthew White — Google review
Overpriced, but pretty much the norm for these kinds of experiences. The guides (Chris and Bella) were great, super friendly and helpful. They did a great job keeping both the younger kids and the adults entertained and happy (and had Venmo tipping options at the end). The ziplines were fun, nothing sketchy, and the tour length was good too. None of the lines were draw-jopping amazing or anything, but it was still really fun.
Alan Johnson — Google review
Worth every penny and then some! Good food, GORGEOUS views, friendly staff and OMG the zipline tour was the best. We were both scared as were the other team with us. Small group just us 4 girls and the 2 guides, made all of us more relaxed and by the last zipline we were all eyes open and laughing not screaming! Makes sure you sit outside for some breathtaking sunrises!

The Astoria Column is a tall, 125-foot monument built in 1926 that provides amazing views of the surrounding area. The column was constructed in order to give early settlers of Astoria a better understanding of the landscape and its importance to the region. Today, visitors can still climb the 160-plus steps to the top for a breathtaking view of the Columbia River, Astoria-Megler Bridge, and Pacific Ocean.
It’s a must see if you visit Astoria.
You need to pay $5 for each car (you can use the pass for 1 year)
You get 360’ awesome views.
You can climb the stairs to the top of the column which is a great experience itself.
There are picnic tables and a gift shop.
Grab a sandwich and enjoy the million dollar views.
Amin Sameni — Google review
Minimal fee to get your car in, free without a car. The column is beautiful with pretty amazing artwork going around it. Trying to see it all isn't easy since you need to crane your neck and walk all around it. If you're in decent shape, I highly recommend climbing the stairs to the top. It's a lot of stairs and they aren't very wide for passing people (up vs. down), but it's manageable. The view from the top is really great. Highly recommended!
Arian Kulp — Google review
This was spectacular! The view from the top was surreal! Great piece of history... definitely something you don't want to miss!!! I highly recommend adding this stop to your list of places to visit in the area!! No charge but the parking is $5. There are stairs inside the column to a viewing area at the top. It's a long climb and not for everyone.

We've been through Astoria many times
Not realizing there was such a beautiful column hidden away in the trees. We had a great time climbing the stairs to the top and amazed at the the views we have been missing through the years. We will be back.

The Astoria Column in Oregon is a historic monument that offers panoramic views of the Columbia River, Astoria, and the surrounding area. It stands atop Coxcomb Hill and features a spiral mural depicting significant events in the region's history. The parking fee here is $5.00, and it's a year-round price. It's a hot spot where you can experience the picturesque scenery from the top of Astoria, and it's connected to the Cathetral trail, and there's a trail road to the city.
We went up the tower, you can see a better view. We climbed all the way to the up, took us 15-20mins. But heads up that it’s not a dog friendly area. Views from the top are just amazing! We clicked so many pictures at this location. I highly recommend this place.

Amazing view in a clear day, can see the bridge to WA, Mt Saddle...etc. Cute gift shop, $5 parking fee last 12months.
It's challenging to walk up to top of column as there isn't much space to stop & rest with other visitors going up & down. There were 6 bald eagles flying nearby, so beautiful
L Kwan — Google review
The view is spectacular, to say the least! Don’t miss this! The only expense is the charge for parking, which was $5 per car. There is a very small store with all the normal gift shop stuff you need.
There is also a nearby trail for additional adventures!

Enjoy the stunning views of the Columbia river. If you have the heart, try climbing the 265 steps of the tower and you'll be rewarded with the 360 degree view of the area in all its majesty. However, I suggest that you visit the souvenir shop first before you go up as this is where you can get your gliders. Adult and kids alike enjoy sending off these toy gliders from the top.

Took the family to the Astoria Column. We've been there several times and it's always a blast. This year we climbed to the top and threw our balsa wood airplanes from the observation deck. So fun to watch them loop and glide down to the ground.
After we descended the stairs we took the shirt hike to see the Cathedral Tree. The hike was nice, but the bugs were not. Be sure to use bug spray to avoid getting lots of bug bites.
Scott Johnson — Google review
The entrance fee is per vehicle for parking and it's good for the year.
Going to the top of the column is a climb but, it's worth getting to the top for the view. You can even buy a pin in the gift shop that says you survived the climb 😁 It can be cold up there and breezy.
The walk to the cathedral tree is beautiful! Not too hard and it's kid and dog friendly.
Veronica G — Google review
The parking fee is $5.00 per vehicle per visit. The downhill views are amazing and breathtaking. You can go inside the Column but it is quite high btw. There is a small Cathedral Tree trail nearby if you are interested. It worths your time to visit so please come

Stunning and absolutely gorgeous views! We did the short hike to Cathedral Tree that was fairly easy for the most part(highly recommend good walking shoes). Climbed the tower(164 steps) and it was worth the exercise. Amazing panoramic vista's!

Nice spot to visit to get awesome views of Astoria and Columbia river. It costs five dollars for parking and parking pass is valid for the year. Spiral staircase to the top where you can get a 360 degree view from platform. Staircase is narrow so be careful when passing people going in other direction, has spots along the way to stop and catch your breath as well as letting other pass by. Mural painted on outside of column is beautifully done and wraps all around the whole way up. Information/ gift shop available and worth visiting. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

First time here, recommended by family, inexpensive to get in, the gentleman at the gate was super friendly and talkative. Free maps and info, beautiful spot, also gorgeous views. The stairs are very narrow and high. It was very windy at the top which made it a little scary. Cute gift shop with very fair prices. Clean restrooms. Highly recommend and would return.

We were here on a cruise to Alaska. This was our first port. We took a bus tour of the city, and we stopped here. The views of the Columbia River are stunning. The monument is outstanding, and there are clean restrooms and a gift shop.

Five dollars per car to get into the park. The column is impressive!! My husband made the 165 stair trek to the top. I took pics from the ground and didn’t have sore calf muscles for 2 days lol I don’t do heights. But the views from the ground were just as beautiful! It’s absolutely worth the visit!

I had a great time visiting as this was a surprisingly fun monument to visit! The climb wasn’t too bad to the top and the views are incredible! You can buy a small glider and throw it from the top for just $1! The entrance fee is $5 and there is a good gift shop which has plenty of merchandise to buy! I highly recommend it when visiting Astoria!
Daniel Duran — Google review
Awesome view. Plenty of parking but it will cost 5 dollars but apparently it's for the year. Nice little gift shop as well. Don't forget to buy a wooden plan to threw at the top of the column. Just be warned it's 164 steps going up in a spiral staircase with traffic coming in both directions.
Mark Teodoro — Google review
We visited the Astoria Column the morning prior to driving back home. The weather did not cooperate, we could barely see anything due to the fog and it was extremely windy. It’s up a hill, about few minutes from our hotel. The drive was pretty anxious, we went through some steep and curvy roads. We attempted to go up the tower but I couldn’t keep up due to so many stairs, about 164 spiral staircase to be exact. My husband did make it up to the tower but the visibility was slim due to the fog. I still managed to capture few pics although it was nearly impossible. There are plenty of parking spaces, the lot includes a gift shop and restrooms. There’s a $5 parking fees for the whole year. We’ll definitely be back but probably not during fall/winter season.

Best Views. Best Gift shop. Best breath taker, literally. The stair climb w your excitement getting to the top is awesome once you reach it! Don't forget to get the wood gliders @ the gift shop BEFORE you go to the top!

Overall, a nice place to visit, with a great view of the Columbia River & Astoria. Inside the column is a spiral staircase where you climb to the top. On the top, you have a beautiful view of Astoria and the Columbia river.
In the gift shop, you can buy wooden planes to throw from the top.
Definitely would visit again.

Fun adventure, mixing sightseeing with exercise. 164 steps to the top. Beautiful views of Austria. $5 entry per car. I suggest purchasing the wood planes at the gift shop and letting them loose from the top of the column. Clean bathrooms and warm water in the restrooms.

Holy cow what a view. Be prepared to climb but it's worth it. Nice green lawn area so you can picnic some limited tables. The grounds were kept immaculate. You are able to see three separate rivers and the Pacific Ocean .

What a great fun way to learn about history and get some exercise!!! Even my older out of shape self made it to the top!!!! You get to fly a balsa wood airplane if the top! How cool is that! We also saw several bald eagles and got to watch and hear them fly around. That was so cool! We went on a foggy day but it was still great! Go if you have any doubts just go!

Didn’t know such a magnificent place existed in the PNW. Must visit if you’re around Astoria. Great views of the Columbia bar, the bridge and multiple other scenery. Climbing the spiral stairs to the top is easy but very narrow. Takes about 5-10 minutes. Some people might feel dizzy though. View is worth the climb. Saw bald eagles and other birds as well. Parking is pretty good and there are restrooms. There is $5 fee to be paid in cash to enter. Gift shop is small and has some interesting items.

The Columbia River Maritime Museum is a kid-friendly maritime museum that tells the story of the surrounding region's maritime history. With a collection of more than 50,000 objects, it features special 3D movie screenings for a small additional fee.
First time in the museum & absolutely loved it. Lots of hands on things to try & learn about. Lots of audio so not just a bunch to read about, which is fantastic! Real ships & some incredible history. We would definitely go again. My boys 4 & 8 had a great time.

Outstanding museum of the maritime history of the Columbia River focusing on the amazing activities of the Coast Guard. The self tour of the lighthouse ship Columbia was outstanding. Many good exhibits including a very moving one about the return of artifacts from fallen Japanese soldiers to their families after many years. Highly recommended.

We visited this museum several years ago, and returned last week. There have been many changes (more informational displays including video). The displays of ships over the years include pictures and display of hardware. There's a good gift shop with some local artisan jewelry.
There's an incredible audio recording of local Coast Guard rescue. It's a must stop for sea history.

A fascinating journey through the history of human exploration on the Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean. Tons of artifacts and a cool collection of fishing boats. The Lightship Columbia is a part of the ticket price. You can walk through most of it.
If you are in Astoria or the surrounding area and you are interested in maritime history, please support this lovely museum!

Very cool! Has some interesting history and I loved the live wall with the earth's clouds. There's wax sculptures in the museum that are very well done and a lot do cool visuals.
Sydney Pickett — Google review
We really enjoyed the museum and light ship. The museaum has lots of different exhibits related to the Coast Guard and the Columbia River. All are well done with good information. There's even a section on WWII with a handful of well-done ship models and a bridge from a destroyer.
There's also a theater in which we watched a very interesting show on fungus, but the theater isn't stepped, so if you're not in the front, people's heads may be in your view.
The gift shop is nice, prices aren't ridiculous. There is an unusually large selection of books.

Sunday - 23 Oct 2022 - 5 Stars
We paid $26 (per person) to enter. This included seeing two 3D movies, per person. We had no wait to enter and bought tickets once we arrived.
The movies lasted 25 minutes, each. The rest of the museum, including the Columbia Lighthouse ship, takes about 2 - 2.5 hours to see - if you do a lot of looking.
Had a great time here. Close to some GREAT seafood restaurants close by, so we took a break party way through it all for lunch.

A museum that is very rich with knowledge and history about Astoria and the Coast Guards. I loved the experience but wasn't able to watch the 3D movies because of time constraints. A little pricey for an entrance fee for me.

Impressive place to visit. A couple of hours give you enough time to catch the highlights. A 20-minute movie is shown and is well worth the time spent. Learned so much new information. Greater appreciation for those who lived and continue to live that lifestyle. The time spent to go on the ship Colombia is worth the effort, too. Great place to take the family. Nice little gift shop.

Great place to go with the family. There are lots of interesting things to see and learn about. Really thought the real-time weather screen was cool! And the green screen room where you can act as the weather forecaster was fun. My husband and kids each made their own video on my phone. And the Hurricane machine was fun for my kids too!
The gift shop was nice. There are lots of great things for people of all ages. We missed out on the ship tour cause it was the end of the day, but I'd been on it before when I was younger and I liked it. We'll definitely go again someday!

The name “museum” just doesn’t sound cool enough for how fascinating this place is. What a great gift shop too!

Pretty good collection of artifacts spanning multiple centuries. You’ll mostly like if you are a history buff. The section displaying shark ship is nice and also older maps and instruments used for geo location is well explained. Can finish seeing everything in about 1.5 hours. Entrance fee includes access to lightship Columbia. Large parking lot and restrooms inside. Gift shop had free coffee as well.

I have driven by this place for over 10 years and never visited. Or 2 older kids and my wife visited and spent 2.5 hours there and really enjoyed the displays and exhibits. You even get to visit a lighthouse ship docked behind the museum. Highly recommend to anyone visiting or deiving through. Good place to get some photos also.

Great museum but very expensive that's why I have it at 3 stars. There should be a deal where if you are local you and a guest get in for like $5 each or something. Being able to go aboard the light ship was the highlight. The volunteer Ralph told us all about it and did a great job.

We visited the Columbia River Maritime Museum located in Astoria, Oregon, and we had a great time. There are so many interactive displays in the museum, and the staff are very knowledgeable as well. The information provided helps us understand the challenges and dangers of navigating the Columbia River. There is also a retired light ship that you can walk through as well. This is truly a fantastic place to visit, and children will love it, too. There's also a great gift shop with lots of items to choose from.

It's worth the trip, very educational, and cool to see the inside of the Columbia ship. There is a $15 entry fee, per adult, for the Museum part, but that also includes a ticket to see the ship.

Actually a really good local museum. I'm only a crappy kayak caster at best, but learning all the marine time history in the area was legit cool. Stories about coast guard training and rescue. Apparently the mouth of the Columbia is just as dangerous as trying to pass Patagonia. Then to learn all the history of the fishing industry, and its subsequent collapse. All these stories were presented through a variety of mediums, and were thoroughly informative and entertaining. We both enjoyed our visit.

Second visit in 22 years(?).
Brought my son and his buddy here, which was extra special being a merchant sailor. Showing them an industry and history most do not know about or put much thought into.
Johnston Ridge Observatory is a visitor center located near the summit of Mount St. Helens, which offers interpretive displays, ranger talks and a gift shop. It is named after scientist David Johnston who was killed by the mountain's lateral blast. The observatory provides stunning vistas of the crater with smoke rising from it, showcasing the unique nature of this mountain.
Amazing views of the crater!
On a clear day you can see the smoke rising and the growing nature of this unique mountain.
There are many trails and walkways in summer.
In winter its a long hard hike and careful planning as its around 14 miles round trip.
The road is gated just after the Coldwater lake, hence the walk will be long and will need snowgear in winter.
Either way in all seasons its amazing!

Fantastic view of the mountain. In late April the drive up to the observatory was completely clear, but a few of the viewpoints and all the trails were covered in feet of snow.

This is an amazing observatory. It explains what happened during the 1980 volcano and talks about volcanic activity since then. It has this wonderful 3d model of the mountain that shows you exactly what happened that morning. Plus more exhibits including stories of survivors. And the view is exquisite! We are hikers and have hiked around the mountain, but non hikers can really enjoy the view of the mountain. Everyone should visit this site!

We showed up on a clear winter day, enjoyed the exhibits, and joined in on an interpretive ranger program about the history of Mount St. Helens. The program was absolutely captivating, led by one of the most passionate educators I’ve had the pleasure of listening to. Everyone in the group was so enthralled that we didn’t even notice it had started snowing very hard until the ranger pointed it out at the end, saying “you all were so interested in the story, I didn’t want to distract you from it!”. I wish I had thanked that ranger more thoroughly for a lovely experience.

Enjoyed this view to Mt Saint Helen. Drove up the mountain mid-day on a October brisk Fall day (50°F-56°), do not go up if fog heavy or clouds are low you will not be able to see it. But, make sure winter clothing is on deck (coat, gloves & jacket). At this location it's a scene you must see. If you have trouble breathing or walking uphill be prepared is 4000+ ft above elevation.
Yolanda Simmons — Google review
Worth the drive to reach this observatory, which is named for a scientist who saved numerous people with his early warnings to evacuate but died himself in the 1980 eruption. We visited when there were clouds around the top of the summit, which made the views more eerie. Informative exhibits, take the hike on the trails. Parts of the landscape has yet to recover.

Got there Sunday, just as they were closing (6pm), but had enough time to get some souvenirs. The prices were fair, and they had a nice selection. The views were spectacular! We got some beautiful photos. The roads are well maintained, with some great pulloffs. Keep in mind that they're dark, steep and windy, so don't stay up there too late. This was a "bucket list" item that SHOULD HAVE BEEN on my list - do yourself a favor and put it on yours!

Beautiful spot to get a good look at Mt Saint Helen's, good for all ages an abilities. Once you park you'll have to walk up a hill to the center, but it's all paved ect an wheelchair accessible. There's a little loop that is paved, but has some rough spots. We hiked up to Coldwater peak, was cloudy so couldn't see a lot but was beautiful. Got to hangout with a couple goats while we had lunch

Wonderful. The view you have with My St Helens, there's no words. I was speechless. No pictures or TV can really do justice. If you have the park pass? Then you can go in the building for free. Although that was Labor Day day so check into it. You won't be sorry. All the forest you'll see has come back after she blew. Beautiful.

Amazing beauty. The drive is quite pleasant with many view stops along the way. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Be aware the Ranger talks (usually on the hour) are canceled if the weather is cloudy in the morning, regardless of if it clears up later in the day.

Just wow! We are local Washingtonians, but this up close view of the inside of the volcano never gets old. The drive up is always worth it. Local hint: Get there at 10:00 am when it opens and you’ll have very little traffic and the visitor center will be less crowded, then, on the way back down, about 8 miles, you will see signs for Coldwater Lake. It was a lake created by a landslide with the eruption. It’s gorgeous, has an interpretive trail, and if you cross the shallow creek that is at the picnic area’s parking lot (just at the start of the trail), you can have a large sandy beach to yourself. Bring a picnic (pack everything out). Great day trip from Portland or Seattle.

Me and my husband recently traveled here and it was amazing. Mt. St. Helen's is in bird's-eye view. There is a gift shop on sight if you wanted to purchase some goodies from your visit here. There is plenty of parking and a coffee stand if you wanted a good cup of coffee and a light refreshment. The walk up is really nice and paved. There are also hiking trails available. I would highly recommend going here.
Gateway to the volcano with exhibits like a working seismograph, plus a wetlands hiking path.
Very beautiful place! Very people friendly wildlife.
Trails were spacious & clearly marked.
Sturdy boardwalk over the water was beautiful! Informational boards along the way.

Great visitor's center! Very informative, but interesting, too. Several hands-on things for kids and teens. Our whole family enjoyed out stop and really learned a lot.
You'll find restrooms and hiking trails, but the actual observation deck is a good drive away. Check in to make sure it's open and what the weather is like so that you don't make the drive for nothing
The visitor's center and observatory are pretty rural so plan on getting gas and food in Castle Rock proper.

Glad I stopped! Was headed to seaquest state park but unfortunately they are closed this year. The grounds keeper was super kind and informative while I stopped and asked her about the parks near by. This is a very informative place, where you learn much of the history of the water bodies in the area. The lake, rivers and wetlands have all been drastically changed over eruptions from Helens. There is a single, day use parking lot right as you exit the highway, for Discovery Pass users who simply want to enjoy the wetland trail and not visit the visitors center. There are two larger lots, further in for those looking to partake of the center as well. We were lucky enough to enjoy the wetland trail for about forty minutes, before two busloads of visitors arrived...shortly after 1pm. There are multiple, beautiful spots to pause and take in the bounty and breadth of wetland flora and fauna. I learned about a plant that eats water dwelling beetles through traps in it's root system. On a clear day, you can enjoy distant views of Mt St Helens from the wetland boardwalk.
Dogs who are respectful and on leash are welcome. Our little ten pound putz enjoyed herself.
There are volunteers randomly walking around who will ask if you have any questions. The guy we ran into was knowledgable, quiet spoken and friendly.
The visitors center has bathrooms but none are accessible for only the trail. I highly recommend people check out this natural beauty.

This is a PERFECT outing for littles. The boardwalk loop is about a mile long, completely flat and very accessible (only struggled with one or two little bumps in the wheelchair). Nice educational signage throughout. Parking was abundant when we went, bathrooms were very clean, and there were plenty of places for them to stop for a rest or a snack. The views of the wetlands and foothills were stunning. Keep an eye out for fun bird species! Admission was only $5 and the interpretive center was fabulous. I highly recommend catching the short film if you can. Rangers were super friendly, enthusiastic, and informative. This place really sparked my oldest's interest and now we can't wait to venture closer to the mountain!

The exhibits weren't open yet but there were rangers available on staff in the gift shop, which was still open. This signs on the road leading to the park may have been misleading to some indicating it was closed. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful with all of our questions. This was a very nice facility and the gift shop was incredible with its selection. I would definitely recommend stopping in if you are visiting the park in the future.

Really educational and not that expensive to get in. I really liked the movie that goes over what happened in detail. Beautiful walk around the back. I find it strange that it's nowhere near the actual mountain, it's like an hour's drive away but I'm European and used to everything being close together. Gift shop prices were insane though.

Nice place to stop on the way up the mountain. The exhibits are nice but nothing special. There is an overlook above the building that overlooks the valley. There are benches outside and a little gift shop. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Educational and fun. Easy drive from Portland, great way to introduce kiddos to volcanoes.
Mini movie about the eruption is neat and teaches everyone something.
Cool model displays and oodles of learning in the museum. Great gift shop with any kind of mementos you could need.
Plenty of parking and shaded parking too, there’s even an area to walk your dog. Paths are very accessible though there is a small incline to access the loop through the marsh, you could definitely roll it or navigate with cane.
Tables and spots for picnics and if you don’t pack anything, the snack bar is reasonably priced and has caffeine.
Well worth the drive.

Very informative. There is a great view of Mt. St. Helens, but --- only after mid-day. Otherwise, it is backlite and the mountain top fades into the bright skyline. The grounds and buildings are wheelchair accessible. There are two levels, about 5 steps, but there is a ramp also.

Absolutely gorgeous views! Only thing to regret is paradise was still closed😭

I don’t know if words do this place justice. Just breathtaking. I visited sunrise, paradise, ohanapecosh, and carbon river. My favorite campsite was at ohanapecosh. My favorite trail was pinnacle peak. My favorite pie at paradise lodge was the triple berry. I could write a book about this place!
Some helpful tips: I charged my phone and rechargeable batteries at paradise lodge. There are NO showers within the park so plan accordingly. Visit reflection lake either at sunrise or sunset. If you are going to paradise get there early! Pack in, pack out, and stay on trail.

Glacier-fed rivers and cascading waterfalls carve their way through the park, adding to its beauty and creating a soothing soundscape. The roaring waters and misty spray create a sense of wonder and remind us of the power and force of nature.

We had a delightful trip with 3 kids, 8yrs, 4yrs and 2 yrs. All of them are enjoyed the views and snow. We didn’t hike although I know it would be one of the best hiking route! It was above our expectations on going there with kids.

We chose to go here on a Saturday with good weather. The scenery to drive here from Seattle was very beautiful. We climbed the mountain for two or three hours, the more excited we climbed, the scenery above was very beautiful, and we could meet animals. It is a perfect place for family and friends to enjoy themselves together.

Visited Mount Rainer today but many roads were closed due to snow covered. Managed to visit Narada Falls and some vista points at foothills and the views were breathtaking.

Can’t miss this if you’re from Washington or visiting! This park exceeded my expectations. Nature at its best! Majestic views! Truly Awesome waterfalls, and very accessible.
The park is extremely well managed and maintained. The hikes are manageable, the roads are well kept.
In summer it gets crowded especially on weekends, so plan to visit during the week if you can. Bring water on the hikes! It gets warmer than you think.
Some helpful tips:
The line at the entrance gets long, like 1hr and a half to two hours! Brutal. Again, especially during the weekend. Plan to arrive before 7am to avoid being stuck in traffic.
Reflection point won’t reflect unless there’s no wind. Usually there’s less wind at sunset or sunrise.
Make sure you reserve a camping spot, those first come first served are gone as soon as they open.
You don’t need to camp inside to enjoy the park. If you want to go last minute, there’s several camping spots right outside the entrance, with decent amenities and you can still spend the whole day at the park!
PS. It’s true what you hear, the berry pie is absolutely amazing!

It’s just peaceful place for nature lovers. We visited on Sept 2023, the climate was awesome and the trail was beautiful.
You may expect full parking lot on weekends, try to plan on week days.
Thanks.

Amazing place with beautiful landscape. There is a lodge to get coffee and food before going in the trail. It is definitely a must do trail when in Washington state.
Tip: Always check road conditions before leaving.

This is justtttttt an amazing place. Though it was annoying with the long wait times to get in , it is WORTH the wait .. the view is just magnificent… it’s almost like a dream ! God gift to human beings . One of the best places that I have ever seen in my life . There are few trails and depending on how much you can walk , take those trails .
When we went , it was too crowded . Went late summer and there were beautiful wild flowers . Just loved them . We walked for few mins to view the rainier and then walked towards myrtle falls view and back to visitor center . It was just a breathtaking adventure … loved it to the max . A must visit place for anyone who visits WA .. 👍👍👍

I don't even know what there is to say that hasn't already been said. Plenty of sights. Trails. Souvenir shops. Lodging. Food along the way. Peace. Clean hikes. We loved every minute of our time here. Just 30 for your car to get in. That ticket is good for a whole week and you can leave and re enter if you're staying outside of the park. We didn't get to go to the summit because of the snow and weather but maybe next time. It was so cool.

The nature is very beautiful, even though I really wanted to see wild flower fields but it didn't specify anywhere which trail to take, where to go to see it. It was extremely crowded, hard to find parking, just two bathrooms at the visitor center, and huge long lanes to wait, could have built more knowing how many people out here. The food is extremely expensive and a very poor choice. Would visit again more prepared next time, maybe will like it more then.

Beautiful mountains, some areas of the park had no fence or something between the road and the cliff, and for someone who is afraid of the heights it was scary so I turned around first chance I had. Signs could be better, apparently there is a lodge, we didn't know where it was. Overall it was nice, we got some amazing pics

We went to Mount Rainier through the Paradise/Longmire entrance on November 8, 2023. We got an unexpected three feet of snow the day before our hike. Luckily, it was a clear day and some people from the national guard were also hiking up. They paved a way for us to go up. The views were breathtaking! The snow surprise made the whole experience even better. Will definitely be back to experience the other seasons!

The place is mesmerizing!! Was it worth it? Yes!
The route was a bit scary as there was no fence between the road and the cliff but just go for it and you will be there. We left pretty late so thought of turning back on the way as it seemed far and never ending and assumed it would be too late by the time we reach, but no, there were plenty of people up and they stay up for longer so you are not alone. We left at 3pm and still managed to complete the trip. You have access to so many mountains, parks and you can go for trekking but mind you, we did not find any place to eat so carry your own food and water. Beautiful view with lots of parking space, air is clean and crisp and you will feel at the top of the world, so go for it!

Holy smokes! Stunning 🤩 expect a $30 entrance fee. One of the main roads is closed so we couldn’t get to some things without doing some serious hiking which we weren’t properly clothed for. The visitor center at the top had a good cafe and cute but cram packed gift shop.

Amazing how close you get to see the mountain! You can see the massive glaciers and falls. Surrounding area is nothing but breathtaking.
Pictures can’t capture its beauty enough, highly recommend to actually go there! Many view points can be accessed with short hike.

I LOVE this mountain. Absolutely stunning and incredible. Careful about the water in the bathrooms up towards the top of the mountain as is gets so cold it’s dangerous to touch. I hadn’t thought about how cold the water was going to be after I lathered on a bunch of soap and caused really bad nerve pain in my finger for a few days. I have no hard feelings it was my own lesson to learn but for anyone reading this that isn’t aware then here’s your heads up.

Walking paths & driving tours to view moose, American bison & bighorn sheep, plus birds of prey.
This place was a lot of fun. We were on the Sunday, 10:00 am driving tour. The only thing we did not see was the moose. The walking area is great too, many animals to see. They have a kids play area that is pretty nice too. The staff were very knowledgeable about the animals.

Loved it! It was my son 3rd birthday the day we were there! It was mid week and we were there shortly after the park opened. Everything was amazing and we had a blast! The children's playground was pretty magical with a little creek running through and plenty of places to climb! We did the drive tour as well and got to see even more animals! We will definitely be going there much more often now!

Our family had a great time on our Mother's Day visit! We did the drive through adventure and got to see several animals along the way. The tour guide was really informative and made the drive really enjoyable. The park was fun too. It was a really hot day, but there was plenty of shade to keep us cool. Lots of animals out and about, our kids really likes the bear exhibits the best. Only bummer of the day was the Kid Zone didn't have the water feature on, which would have been nice on the hot day. Otherwise, an overall fun day and we look forward to visiting again in the near future.

Great for family and especially KIDS. I had a blast as a solo traveler. I went to attend the "wild drive" driving tour. This tour was great. Saw all 7 wild animals they had to display. This tour is great if you have an amazing zoom in camera because some animals are really far. One thing i wish is we could've stop our car to take good steady pictures. On the tour you always moving around 5 mph. Tour guides are very knowledgeable and throw a few jokes in. Ill def come back again.

Great way to spend the day. Make sure you plan to go earlier in the day because you're ticket will include both a driving tour (about an hour) and walking around the park for your entire car (around 8 people i believe). The trek around had one steep incline but had greatly placed benches all around the park. Not sure this place would be that fun for younger kids as many of the animals are harder to spot, but my 11 year old enjoyed it.

We went April 9th with our 2 boys 3 and 6. we did the 10 am wild tour. The girl that did our drive was amazing. She knew so much info. She talks the whole drive about how it started and about all the animals. I loved her. Then we went inside and did the whole tour inside. 10/10 for sure and will go back. I recommend if you go to go early spring or late fall when it cools down so you see more animals. Its a better cost to pay the $90 that gets up to 8 people in for the tour and the entire park.
shannon K — Google review
Very relaxed visit as there were no crowds. We saw a few animals on the driving tour but not real close. Walking through the shady paths was nice on this 80 degree day but apparently animals are more visible on cooler days. The 6 year old in our group didn't have any trouble walking through the park and enjoyed Child Trek, a kids play area, complete with a small stream to walk in, barefoot of course. Benches available for watching adults in sun and shade.

We did the Wildlife Trek and the zoo/park area on our visit with my mom, my 6 year old, my husband, and myself. Each of us absolutely LOVED it! Somehow we went on a day where almost every single animal was out and active (first rainy day in awhile, if that helps)! The animals were so cool and the trek was absolutely worth it! - Things to Know: •For the trek, buy tickets in advance and show up a tad bit early! Plan your drive accordingly with traffic and possibly road work (which we ran into). •Parking is free for the zoo/park area. •Bring comfy shoes if you do the zoo part as it's quite a walk (but absolutely gorgeous). •If you do the trek, tune into the radio station they tell you to. Lots of info and lots of directions for keeping you and the animals safe. •Look ALL around on the trek! We saw animals everywhere, not just the main focus ones being talked about at the time. •Give yourself time! If you do the trek and the zoo, give yourself time for it all. •Be prepared to see some cool animals! A lot of the animals were "up close" than I've seen at other zoos. •Go into the buildings that are there/open (wolf viewing, kids area, etc.). •Plan out bathrooms (they're all over, but also spaced out). •Be careful where you stop under the Bald Eagle area (bird poop and all that). •There is a bear viewing platform that is amazing! •The cafe is small but good! •The kids park area is pretty big, but super fun!

The ride along (car train tour) is So worth the price, and it INCLUDES getting to go into the zoo itself! This place FOCUSES on conservation, and better relationships with the land we live in and the animals we share this land with! Please please please consider coming here! It's so cool and informative!!!
(I ended up with So So So many videos and pictures of all kinds of creatures, but I think what is super important is to show all the plaques and signs in the zoo, they're educational about the plants, the woods we live in and the different habitats and education on the animals they have there!)
Our lead for our driving tour, I cannot remember his name right now, but he was SO SO GOOD! 🙏🏽🧡
He said he used to visit this zoo/park when he was a child and now he works there, educating on the animals and the land, and he said it felt like he's gone full circle. And I Love that. Thank you so much for sharing you knowledge, we WILL be coming back again!

Did the driving tour, and it was enjoyable. Saw almost everything but 1 species of animal. The moose were "babies" but still gigantic. Hard to take photos as you can't stop. Pricey for just 2 people in the car. You can have up to 6 but it's the same price regardless.
Afterwards, went inside and walked around. Most of the animals were out.
The 2 black bears got into a little scuffle when the little one was drinking the water, walking back to the other side. The big one then chased the little one off after.

Love being able to see local nature. The kids area is awesome now. So much to climb on and slide down. The kids had a blast and all but 1 animal was open out in plain sight. Such beautiful creatures!

We are season pass holders for NWT and have been for two years. We definitely get our money's worth. We go 2-3 times a month. It's a nice change of pace for walks. The play area is a highlight too! I recommend allotting time for the kids to play there! All of the animals are so well taken care of. They do enrichment and extraordinary enclosure maintenance for the animals.
The tram still isn't open which is a major bummer, but they will give you a free ticket for when the tram is open if you ask about it. The new electric tram is scheduled to open Spring 2023. ☺️
Esprit Dunn — Google review
This truly is a great experience but I was very disappointed that we could not take the bus ride around the park to see the Bison and Elk, etc. That's the main and best part in my opinion and it's currently halted until some electric bus thing is installed.
They should have some way to still do this until the electric bus is installed.
Outside of that, it was a nice trip. Most of the animals were out. The cats were still sleeping though. We went from 10am to 1pm. Kids really enjoyed the play area and the food is no badly priced.

This is a great experience and in a beautiful setting in the shadow of Mt. Rainer. I hadn't been here in several years (10+) and I was happy to see it was just as good. Like any drive through wildlife park where the animals are free to roam, what you see is hit or miss because the critters are free to do as they want. We did manage to see a lot of elk, some deer, a few bison, and a couple sheep (the last two weren't even spotted by the guide).
The walking exhibits are also good to see and while still in a very natural setting, are more visible than those in the driving area. It's a great experience for kids and adults alike. It's about a 3.5 hour drive for us, so we likely won't be back for another 10 years or so, but still highly recommend it (it's worth the trip at least once).
Kevin — Google review
We paid $90 for the driving tour. It was a little underwhelming, but cool to see the animals right there. I got to take some nice pictures of the animals during the ride. Having the radio tuned to the host was really good, she gave a lot of good information during the trip, but maybe next time she should get more sleep. I have never heard a presenter yawn so much before...anyway, I found out that $90 also gave us entry into the zoo. This was a nice surprise and made it worth the $90-to do both things. The zoo part has the animals I looked forward to seeing as well. Just remember, the animals like to take naps as well! Sucks to see the wolf sound asleep but he/she needs his rest. I wish the areas the animals are kept in were bigger, but I guess that is the best that can be done.
The staff is very friendly and I am glad we stumbled on this place while out driving. Not sure if I will go back, but it doesn't hurt to see this place at least once. The staff I interacted with seem to really care about their jobs and sharing their animal knowledge with us.

First time I've been back in about 15 years. Honestly, I don't love seeing caged animals, but the animals at NWT are either being rescued, restored, or protected, which makes it much easier to enjoy paying to view them. The only animal we didn't get to actually see was the Wolverine. We will definitely be going back. We walked through the animal park area and then did the Wild Drive. Great place for families!
Reba VanBrunt — Google review
It is beautiful! The sights themselves are amazing and even better with the animals! The tram is wonderful. You get to ride around and look at elk, moose, bison, and more! Then you get off the 5 you get to see the bear, wolves, cougar, bobcat, lynx, and so much more it's an amazing experience and an amazing place to visit!
Cierra Russell — Google review
The zoo was amazing. Do note that it is a small zoo, so if you go, keep that in mind. But the exhibits give you a great view of the animals and the staff are amazing.
I did the drive-thru tour where you drive your own car. It was $110 for my car, which at first I thought was a little expensive. But then I learned that includes allowing ALL people in your car to enter the walking part as well.
I was very happy and felt it was worth it for the family to enjoy the day at the zoo!

I love coming here. It's smaller than Point Defiance, but still has a good amount of animals. There are a lot of beautiful trees, flowers, and other plants. The walkways are mostly shaded, so it doesn't get too hot or risk sun burns. There's a great play area for kids when they're done looking at the animals. We only had the fries and ice cream, both were good.
Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge is a protected estuary sprawling over 762 acres, located just outside Lacey/Olympia. The refuge offers numerous trails and an education center, along with opportunities for bird and whale watching. With more than 200 different bird species thriving in the marshes and grasslands, visitors can also spot various reptiles, mammals, and amphibians.
Very nice place to go for a relaxing walk. The whole loop around was 4.5 miles. The trail is all basically flat with minimal elevation change. There is the section from the wooded area to the observation deck where you are on a gravel road. The rest is all a wooden walkway. There are a lot of bald eagles, I seen about 5-7 yesterday and what I'm assuming where juvenile eagles. Then today I seen seals. Tons of ducks, swallow ect. It's a popular area for bird watching and photography. There is a $3 parking fee, or if you have an American the beautiful pass that works too according to their website. I recommend getting the America the beautiful pass if you frequent any national areas.. I'd your a vet or active you get one for free. Just show your ID to the ranger. Good place for all ages!!

This place is a must-see for nature and wildlife lovers if you're in the area! It's very accessible as there are miles of gravel walking paths and boardwalks that take you right over the water. I arrived early on a Saturday and it was packed so be ready to search for parking if you arrive later in the day. People come and go though so it's not too bad. The day parking fee is $3 so be sure to bring some cash. The visitors center is very nice and informational. We saw a bald eagle, harbor seals, hooded mergansers, and a wide variety of waterfowl I've yet to identify. No worries if you don't have binoculars- they have some located throughout the refuge for you to view the wildlife. Highly recommend!!

Took the family here on a beautiful Sunday. It was an hour drive and totally worth it. My kid had a great time exploring the visitor center and there's a little park for younger ones. I walked the boardwalk and took photos of all the wildlife it had to offer in early summer. I saw Bald Eagles, lots of Heron and Tern, Cormorant, and plenty of smaller birds. I even saw a deer in the nearby field! Limited parking, and there is legitimately a chance that if you can't find parking you can't go in. Great fun in a beautiful area.

Spent a lovely three hours here. What an amazing and beautiful place to explore. We appreciated all of the signs along the way teaching about many of the animals at the refuge. This was definitely worth the $3.00 parking fee! We borrowed binoculars at the visitor center. The staff members were all so friendly and welcoming.

Beautiful treasure just outside Lacey/Olympia! We walked the boardwalks, enjoyed the birds chirping, and kept our eyes out for the various plants working on blooms. I’ll be back later in the spring to see the results—
Overall, very family friendly and likely good for those whose physical conditions may prevent hiking on trails. It’s still gorgeous and a way to enjoy the outdoors.
There is a fee to park if you don’t have an interagency pass (like the national parks annual pass). This is federal land, so a state pass won’t do.

The place is super green. It was dried when we got there. It's a wheelchair accessible with little graval. There's public restroom. Once you get to the brackish water, you will experience a nasty scent. There is a fee, It's $3 per person. The only 2 animals that got our attention were a small little green frog and the lonely seal. Parking was free.

Great place for taking a peaceful walk and bird-watching. Cost is very affordable (3 dollars per car). You can also use a national park pass. There are public restrooms and a drinking fountain. A gift shop is open seasonally.
There are some trails near to the visitor center that follow deeper water and are mostly shaded. Near the barns, about a 10 minute walk from the parking lot, are picnic tables and outhouses. You can continue from there along the gravel path to the boardwalk that goes out into the tidal flats. Water levels will vary by the tide. I always see at least a few birds when I come, no matter the time of day!

Always a lovely place to be. Tons of wildlife, we see something new with every visit. Deer, frogs, seals, and an endless amount of seabirds.
The staff in the visitors Center are lovely as well. They will lend you binoculars for your walk if you leave your ID with them - highly recommend! They also have a nice gift shop with local art and more.
To walk the entire trail and boardwalk takes about 1-2 hours depending on your pace.

Our party of six arrived mid-morning on Friday, June 23. Parking was not a problem.
We were a bit warm as we walked the boardwalk in the bright sunlight. The boardwalk is well maintained and wide enough to easily pass by other visitors.
The tide was out during our visit, revealing thousands of little crabs in mud. We saw various birds along our walk and got to watch a group of 6 eagles soar above us.

I've been going to Nisqually for several years, starting back in 2011 when I first moved to WA and then again in 2020 when we came back. There's a decent amount of parking, less on the weekend, and the entrance fee is only $3 (free if you have a military ID or America the Beautiful pass). Small visitor's center with information about the refuge and a gift shop. Well maintained bathrooms. There's a boardwalk loop that goes through the woods around the marshes where you can see birds, deer, bugs, etc in addition to all kinds of plants. A much larger boardwalk goes out over the water where you can see eagles, crabs, seals, whatever. On a clear day, Rainier is visible in one direction and the Olympic Range to the other. Doing both boardwalks comes out to about 4 miles, all flat. Great place for kids, no dogs allowed. It poured on us during our recent visit but we still enjoyed it!

It was New Year’s Day, so it was pretty packed with people. A majority were bird watchers with cameras and binoculars. Others were families with children. A nice long nature walk. Definitely support the reserve gift shop! 🎁 Prepare for hiking! Bring a water, bandaid, and snack(please take your trash with you, don't litter.) Great place to walk with your kiddos. ⚠️ The wooden boardwalk gets VERY slippery when wet, so if you cannot balance or take your time, go on a dryer day.

Great place for a walk and for families with kids to see nature. So many different types of animals, eagles and other various types of birds, frogs, small snakes, etc... Depending on the time and day you go, parking can be difficult, so you might have to find a spot on the side of the road or in grassy areas of the parking lot. If you have kids, recommend to stop at the visitor center and get a pamphlet that engages kids to find various things and animals that can be found along the trail. The staff and volunteers are very kind, friendly, and helpful.

Such a spectacular place! So easy to walk on the trails and boardwalks. It's flat and long. Easy to get a stride going.

Lovely way to spend a day. So many duck and other bird species (saw owls, eagles and heron). Take care on the boardwalk, can be very slippery in spots during the rainy months. Walk is about 5 miles or so RT and parking can fill up on a decent day. FYI, waterfowl hunting is allowed certain months of the year incase the echoing of gunshots bothers you. Spectacular national park! I came during the winter so couldn’t observe the rich diversity of species here but still very interesting to see different types of birds and enjoy the wetlands. The bridge has a lots of signs about the animals here and also marked the land that was from a man who went bankrupt in 1910s and sold the land to US Wildlife.
Highly recommend this park to everyone!
Snoqualmie Falls is a well-known and scenic waterfall, standing at 270 feet tall and surrounded by a 2-acre park. Visitors can enjoy the breathtaking view from an observation deck or venture down to the lower viewing platform. The site is easily accessible by car, located just 40 minutes away from Seattle, with free parking available on the other side of the road or paid parking closer to the site.
Beautiful, picturesque waterfall, next to a hotel. Certainly worth visiting. Make sure that the weather is clear before coming.

Nice falls. Had a great trek on a trail, it is a little steep but worth the trek. The views from top and foot of the falls are great. Great spot for some quite time or just to have a beer river side. Sometimes too many people could make it disturbing but generally it is a peaceful place.

Stunning views! Visiting from out of state and just happened to stumble upon this amazing waterfall. You can view the falls from a lookout above or you can follow the trail and see the falls from below. Ample parking in the later evening. The hike down to the lower viewing was pretty steep. Paid parking right in front but free parking across the street.

The place is beautiful, the trails are expansive, and there is a place to buy gifts and food. If you are going to walk the trails, please be mindful that what goes down must come up. Save your energy for your trip back up, or you will end up very tired. There are a lot of steep parts to the trails, so those parts are not for inexperienced walkers. Please obtain a map or something if this is a concern.

Today was a beautiful day to see this! Absolutely breathtaking. Some of the stairs are closed off from the upper lot but just walk down a different path and you'll catch the 1/2 mile trail sign. Coming back up might be difficult for some, if you started from the upper lot. I'd recommend parking at the lower lot and walk along the trail/bridge (4th picture) to get to the falls.

We visited the falls on our vacation to Seattle. We came on a Friday afternoon at around 2 pm. Had a good amount of foot traffic but not terribly busy. Enjoyed the falls as it is a popular tour destination. Interesting to see its history. Worth seeing if you are in the area. Nice little park area to sit or enjoy a small picnic covered by trees. Nice plants around the area too. They have a gift shop full of souvenirs and books and such. Also a coffee/snack shop with ice cream. We were there for about 1-1.5 hrs. Google maps will take you to a restricted access road. Follow the local signs when you are there.

Nicenplace to walk with your family. Not super strenuous, but you'll breathe harder. Bonus is that there are two parking lot above falls and one parking lot below the falls. Foe the ones above, the lot on the same side of the falls is paid hut the one across the street is free and accesses the falls through a bridge above the road.

Beautiful waterfall that is easy to access. There's a upper and lower observation areas. There is a free parking lot across the street with a pedestrian bridge. Highly recommend to come visit if you are in the Seattle area. Only 30 min drive from downtown Seattle.

Not only is the drive up to Snoqualmie Falls incredibly refreshing to look at, you feel the difference in the air quality of the mountains immediately. This waterfall is absolutely breathtaking!!! The preservation of nature after years of using the waters power for electricity is 👌👌👌
The trail down to the lower falls is easy enough the whole family can most likely handle it ( steady incline on the way back up) . If you have the time to stay or dine at Salish Lodge you can’t go wrong there either.

Lot of parking available and fast moving traffic and the actual falls is about 3 mins away from the parking lot. Great couple views. Trail to downward of falls, is apparently steep and little risky unless you’re a pro hiker.

Beautiful scenery! Simply breathtaking. The view is amazingly calming. For a Saturday parking was bad at all. We paid $8.30 for 2 hours. The only thing is that it’s scan to pay. The waterfall is easily seen from the top and couple other watch points. We hiked down and found a beautiful place where we sat on the rocks and let the kids play in the water . Totally worth the trip!

This is a beautiful fall with hiking trail to go down to the bottom part of the fall. Paid parking is limited on the side of entrance. I will recommend go opposite side and it’s free. You can play water once you reach bottom part of fall.

Such a beautiful waterfall! There is no hike required. There is a parking lot where you can park and pay $5 but it’s limited on space. Theirs some stairs and a few stainless paths to take to the waterfall.

I’m from the east coast. Yes we have Niagara Falls, but the west coast is just so much better. This was one of the most unique and interesting places I have been. I was in Seattle for work but snuck in a few trips here and there to check things out. This was so worth the drive out there. The trees in the area are huge, nothing like what have on the east coast. The falls a big, the sound and mist are very beautiful. If you are anywhere near Seattle make the trip here to see them. The walk from the parking area is very easy. Walking to the bottom of the falls is not. One must be in decent shape to make it down and back up again. Take your time, stop and enjoy the sights, and soak up a little nature.

Snoqualmie Falls is easily accessible, just a 5-minute walk from the parking lot. It’s a free visit and a perfect stop if you’re in Seattle, just half an hour’s drive away.

It was pleasant experience walking down the hill to see dam and riverside. Roads are adequately maintained . In the middle wash room is available. Periodic patrolling was observed by staff. It was good track with dogs and family. View of waterfall was beautiful. Good spot for photographer !

Very accessible waterfalls. Lot of free and paid parking available although sometimes there can be a rush. There is a hike you can do to the lower part of the falls.

Breathing taking experience during my first visit to this place. Upper and lower falls are so beautiful during all seasons. Parking is free just across the foot bridge. I saw crowd during my multiple visits to falls. It's amazing to know the history of this place. Kudos to the folks who worked hard to build the power plant to get power to Seattle area in those days.

Gorgeous! Didn't have time to look around too much but plenty to see. There were some idiots flying a drone even though there are clearly signs that say no drones. But a Must see if you're in the area!!

Snoqualmie Falls, both by day and night, stands as a beautiful, majestic, magnificent, and mesmerizing 270ft waterfall. Surrounded by lush greenery, it presents a serene yet powerful spectacle. I've visited this waterfall multiple times, enjoying views from both the top and the bottom deck.

In terms of waterfalls it's not that big, but the surrounding nature is very beautiful. There is a paved walkway to admire the waterfall but there is also a moderate to kind of severe hike to the bottom of the falls that is not paved. Just some dirt and rocks and it can get pretty steep at some points.
I wouldnt call it steep to where it's dangerous but it is steep enough to where the average person might have difficulties walking down and return back uphill.
Someone in my group in her 50s did it in flip flops and I saw multiple children so it though, so it is possible.
The hike is totally worth it to see all the trees and wonderful sights along the way.

Very pretty falls. Bring your walking shoes has a great hike to the lower level. Windy hold on to your hat and phone. (Speaking from experience)
