We had such a fantastic time on the Lower Salmon River. Everyone felt safe and included. We ate like royalty and had a great time all around. Really appreciated how thoughtful and genuine the guides were.

A multiple night guided raft trip with class 3 & 4 rapids has been on my bucket list for a few decades. We never had the time or $$ until now to say YES to a trip like this.
I had a lot of worries about the trip. I wear glasses, and didn't want to lose them if I had an "out of raft experience", I'm not a camper (though I grew up camping with my parents), the agreement we signed almost frightened me out of the trip (and yes, we bought the insurance).
I'm SO happy I trusted our neighbors who invited us and my long held desire to participate in one of these trips, because this was truly an experience of a lifetime.
Winding Waters did a very good job of communicating next steps along the way via email once we'd registered. I found them very responsive to phone calls as well.
The orientation meeting was helpful and a nice way to break the ice. The dry bags are bigger than they look! My husband was able to take his guitar and the guides took great care of all our belongings while on the water.
The information on "how to be a rafter" right before we put in was critical. Because of this I knew exactly what to do when I had my dreaded "out of boat experience". If I would add anything to that information it would be:
Keep yourself safe on the boat first before you try to help out someone else! -If I hadn't let go of my handholds to try to grab someone else I'd never have gone overboard. Yes, I took in some water and it was a huge adrenaline rush. But within a minute the guides and my friends had me out of the water and back in a raft. Also, didn't lose my glasses!
Hell's Canyon has an amazing history nationally. I wish I had read a little more about it before the trip. Our guide Robin was a wealth of information and she guided and educated us with grace and a wonderful laugh. We saw deer, mountain goats, big horn sheep, eagles, herons and osprey.
We stopped a couple of times to visit parks.
We hiked to lookouts and memorials.
The pacing on the water was perfect for me. Time enjoying rapids, water fights, watching each other swim rapids, ride the duckies along was all appreciated. By day three I was fully ready to just BE. Unplugging from electronics and time was a huge gift.
The campsites were set up by the gear boat guides every night, so we could do whatever we needed and then settle into visiting, having a beverage, and waiting for the delicious food.
Using the groover was very easy for me. The system was straight forward and comfortable. Yes, we all peed in the water along the way, no biggie.
Bring one quick drying outfit. It's all you need for your time on the water. Also, the wet wipes I brought were wonderful each evening to help me transition from river to camp. I did offer $100 for a hot, wet washcloth one evening but no-one took me up on it. Yes, joking. (Mostly)
Mornings we each broke down our tents and cots, packed up our dry bags and went down to breakfast. The WW coffee is DELICIOUS!
The last day of the 5 day trip is a long splashy one and when your guide suggests you have your raincoat available, listen to them!
The most special thing about this trip was the openness of the guides to share their lives with us. I felt so connected to each of them. WW has truly special people on their staff. Never a grumble or short word. Open, smart, warm, funny, genuine and hard working, I'll never forget any of them.
If you are wondering if you should choose Winding Waters for your trip next summer I highly recommend them. Watch their videos. Look them up on Youtube for more fun videos.
Say YES to sleeping on your cot under the stars. It's just magical!

This is one of those times I’d like to give a lower review out of pure selfishness and a desire to ensure I have availability to book a trip in the future. But honestly, it’s one of the highlights of my life. I couldn’t do this with a mixed group of people, but our private trip was as good as it gets. If you’re considering Winding Waters—or have the slightest reservation—I’d implore you to do it. It’s a solid group of people. They KNOW the river. And it’s a decision your won’t regret.

Rockstars. Each and every member of the WWRE team was a gem. Fun. Interesting. Hardworking. While the rapids were a rush, the landscape breathtaking, the team is what made the difference. Paul and Penny, I take my hat off to you. You have hired well, trained well and just lead with love and it shows.
Every detail of interacting with WWRE was professional, relaxed, pleasant and fun. From the moment you get your first email and all emails after with details of what to bring and not to bring (yes, bring everything on the list, I opted out of rain pants only and that was the only item I regret not bringing), to their briefing the day before, moments before getting on the river to every interaction on the river. Every member of the team was attentive, professional and just plain good folks to be floating down the river.
I look forward to joining you again, for this trip or others. Thank you and keep it up. I highly recommend you for anyone looking for the right outfitters to float down one of the rivers you serve.
Thank you, David

Went on the 5 day Hells Canyon trip in August 2023. Amazing---the crew, the food (really), the cots, the tents, the Dorry, the rafts....it was all spectacular! These are real pros. We got to hike daily and see sights along the way. WWRE are the best! Oh and we had great fly fishing!

Rafting with Winding Waters has become one of my favorite annual experiences. The guides are warm and supportive, the food is fresh and delicious, and the scenery is truly some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country. Traveling together as a tribe, moving along the pace of the river, is a unique way to disconnect with distractions and reconnect with nature and nourishment. Having 5 days without cell service is also a true luxury in the day and age. I find the value of these trips worth every penny.
Ashley Tackett — Google review
Aside from the amazing beauty of Hells Canyon itself, what made the trip so amazing were the guides. We felt like we were being taken care of by family. A really special group. Can't wait to be back in the county to float again.
Brett Binford — Google review
The guides are the best. The scenery is amazing - it would be hard to beat. Plenty of sun and wildlife. This is a mostly catered trip for non-experienced to well experienced enthusiasts, however you can just sit back and relax for most of the trip and enjoy frequent fun rapids so anyone at all could easily have a blast on this trip. Most of us did the 5 day trip and although that sounds like a lot of camping it went by far too quickly.
The guides are without question the reason for the rating. Everything else was perfectly fine as far as preparation, travel, etc, but the gear boat staff and rafting guides made this an experience to remember. They were all great but I would like to mention the above-and-beyond efforts of Sarah and Robin - if you get either of these ladies you hit the jackpot. The other guides were well above any expectation, but both Sarah and Robin were simply exceptional. Seek them out.

My son (17) and I did the 5-day trip on the Snake River. It was an amazing experience starting with check-in the night before the trip. Joseph is a really cool little town - spend an extra day there if you can. Paul and Penny are the owners of Winding Waters and were really great - the guides on our trip talked about them like family. The guides themselves were all amazing people and very helpful and friendly. The gear is all great. Food is amazing. You should definitely take this trip.

Our group scheduled a five day rafting and kayaking trip with WWRE and everything went smoothly from take off through the final day floating on our flotilla. We had such an incredible time with many memories made along the way. Our guides are river wizards and very knowledgeable of the history and every aspect of the Snake river. 10/10 would book with them again.
Exhibits & videos detailing the impact of the Oregon Trail & pioneer settlement on Native tribes.
An incredibly eye opening experience! We left with a completely different view of the history we've been taught compared to reality, so sad, and wished we could apologize to everyone on behalf of all the awful things we did to all the native tribes. Very informative along with stunning displays and pictures. Incredibly clean, well laid out, and the staff is very friendly. We believe everyone should experience this museum to understand the truth of our nation's history.

The Institute is a rich, deeply moving experience of immersion in Native culture and history in the Columbia Plateau region. It is a continuing process of telling a story from the Native perspective that will be worth another visit soon. I appreciate those who have invested themselves in making it such an enriching experience.

A truly powerful and, at times, sad experience. This was a chance to really get some education on the local tribe and their history. If you live in the area, this is a must. If you don't, you should make the effort regardless. I would recommend this museum to my friends and family.
James Tolson — Google review
Our family loved our visit to this fantastic museum. The displays were beautifully designed to take you through time and history. Very immersive. The staff were so friendly too. We got a snack of fry bread and corn and salmon chowder from the cafe and both were delicious. Cute little gift shop too with lots of stuffed animals for the kiddos. I loved this museum and am so grateful for the love and time it took to put together. I also love that they have reserved shaded parking for elders. We should have that everywhere! Go and visit this lovely place.

What a touching and beautiful representation of The Confederated Tribes: Umatilla, Cayuse, Walla Walla. Very thought provoking.
Rosemary Joy Espinosa — Google review
A nice museum to spend
an afternoon learning
about the history of the
Confederated Tribes of
the Umatilla Reservation
- The Cayuse, Umatilla
and the Walla Walla tribes.
The exhibits take you
through the traditional
longhouse, the seasonal
cycle of food, and the
introduction of the horse.
The ancestral lands were
taken by treaty, and the
tribes were forced to
give up their traditional
ways.
The church and boarding
school forced the tribes
to give up their language
and become assimilated
to western ways.
The tribes have in recent
years built a casino, hotel
and other ventures to
bring a better life for the
people.
Located easy of Pendleton
on Highway 84 and behind
The Wildhorse Casino.
A nice stop in the Pendleton
area to learn about the
history, struggles and
future of The Confederated
Tribes of the Umatilla Reservation.
Known for wool apparel & blankets, this chain also sells non-wool clothing, decor items & linens.
Such a cute city with lots of shops and an interesting history. The underground tours are very informative. The Tamastslikt cultural institute, just outside of the main streets of Pendleton, gives you a different perspective on the indigenous Americans and how these last 200 years have affected them. I would also absolutely recommend stopping by the Pendleton woolen Mills for wonderfully crafted wool sweaters/ blankets.

Visited the Pendleton Woolen Mill today and came back for the factory tour. It was so informative and was interesting to see how the process works. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. We liked having the headsets which made it much easier to hear during the tour

Do you want to experience "great customer service" again? Then ask for Carrie to be your personal shopper. Spent four digits for Christmas gifts, and every single recommendation from Carrie was a hit with the recipients. Thank you for restoring our confidence in this store with your professional and personable approach after the two-year fiasco.

Have always loved Pendleton blankets, but had no idea they made so many other things. Enjoyed the shop and the mills history timeline that is presented in their back vintage corner.
Stacie Easterwood — Google review
Absolute must-stop. We were there on a rainy day and did the tour of the mill. It's not easy for a non-native English speaker to follow everything, also due to the noise from the machines, but despite that it was interesting and great to see the process. Large store attached to it with friendly staff and good deals.
Mark Dubbeldam — Google review
Thank you, Trish, for the wonderful tour of the mill today! It was fascinating to learn about the history and weaving process of Pendleton. An extraordinary tour—highly recommend to anyone going through Pendleton, Oregon!

Very nice shop, lots of variety. Do check fiber content tags though- much is acrylic, which surprised me.
Johanna Carroll-Robinson — Google review
The staff was very friendly and welcoming
Pointing out sales and explaining pricing. Extremely high prices, I could not find a single product made in USA. Everything in the store is made in China. You are paying for the Pendleton tag but not getting Pendleton products. Very disappointed. I will now cherish my old school Pendleton gear even more.
Update. Do not be confused by the response from Pendleton. Two of us spent 45 minutes looking for a tag made in the USA, never found a single one. Just like China, don't trust Pendleton and their deceptive ways.

First time here. Glad we came. Great displays of history and products. Will return during the week (Mon - Fri) to take the Mill tour.
Dan Arnett — Google review
We love stopping in here. Before reading on, I have to say I graded them down two full stars because their employees are so unfriendly. Not rude, just super cold and unfriendly.
The store is always clean and well stocked. The quality of their mechandise is top shelf. We have three of their blankets, numerous shirts, suitcases, bags...... their goods will last a lifetime. Taking the mill tour, which I have done 6 times over the past 30-years, is a blast.
It's worth a trip here, we just wish they could find a friendly face to hire.

We visited Pendleton Woolen Mills and it was a great hit with the family. They sell blemished blankets at a discount which is a fine way to acquire a Pendleton wool blanket without breaking the bank. I bought a coffee mug and hat. My wife purchased the blanket and she was so pleased. I observed many people leaving who were super happy - one lady was even happy crying.
Brian Keep — Google review
We stopped o. Our way home from our PNW road trip, purely because we knew my mother-in-law would get a kick out of it. She loves Pendleton! We walked through the store. Found a few fun things for my mom-in-law. The bathrooms were clean. The store was well organized and clean. There were no tour's happeing that day but we could see into the mill through glass doors. Was fun to see the wool and threads stacked up and a blanket being wooven. (I thinks thats what it was anyways.) The staff were friendly and helpful!
Wildhorse Resort & Casino is a laid-back destination that offers various dining options, a golf course, and an indoor pool. The facility is smoke-free indoors, with smoking only permitted outside. It features amenities such as a bowling alley, arcade, movie theater, and children's entertainment center. The resort also provides comfortable accommodations and a casino for guests to enjoy. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff and affordable food at the sports bar during happy hour. Additionally, its convenient location makes it easily accessible from Boise.
Fun gaming (love that it is still a non-smoking facility). Good food options (although we miss the original deli). Lots of family entertainment...swimming, bowling, movies. Tower hotel rooms are clean, comfortable, modern. Friendly and competent staff.

We had fun here! Staff were all very helpful, courteous and friendly. The room was clean and decent but could use a little updating. Not complaining though because we did get a discount! After signing up for the club card we got our second night for $35 because it was a Tuesday night. Nice surprise there! Overall a very pleasant stay.

The good: Nice room, nice casino, great sandwiches, good bartenders, good parking, easy to get to. The not so good: pool was cloudy and smells so we did not get in, check in was very slow. Not just slow but "what in the world are they doing up there?" , slow. We thought about staying a second night but would have had to change rooms so we decided to get a few hours closer to home instead.

Amazing place! We did a golf trip with 16 people and the accommodations and staff of the resort, bar, and course were amazing. The bar manager, Anna, booked us a private area of the bar for 2 nights. The server, Lisa, was incredible! Best server I have ever had! Lastly, the golf course was in amazing shape and everyone who worked at the course was amazing.
Nathan Schroeder — Google review
Very convenient from Boise! Cleaner rooms, and no smoke in the air. Dealer, restaurant staff, and cashiers were all very friendly- no matter what time of the day! Food at the sports bar is CHEAP and GOOD! the nachos are always my favorite. Happy hour is half off apps, so my boyfriend and I got a whole table of food and a couple drinks for $50! That's a crazy good deal, especially for a casino/hotel. The pho place is tasty, and relatively cheap as well!
They also have a pool and dry sauna to use, as well as a well maintained mini-gym! I haven't utilized the bowling alley or movie theater yet, but I'm very glad there's some things to do aside from gamble! I'm always very impressed, and the slots pay out pretty well, too! They've got a $5 minimum hand that pays 3/2 on blackjack most mid-days, too, which is awesome for a beginner who doesn't want to spend $15 or more a hand anywhere else.
For $60/night at the hotel, it's an amazing place to travel on a budget for a weekend getaway!

Hoping the new tower will be up soon. The first two nights in the tower were great but had to roll down to the old part on Sunday, New Year’s Eve. Getting the buffet back would also be great. Lost or shall I say contributed for the most part, suggest you check out high spade flush (newer card game) or double action combo of 3card poker and let it ride. Had to stand around to much waiting for positions to open at the card tables. If we are standing watching ya’ll are loosing out.

We stayed at this hotel three times now. They have a nice newer tower where the rooms are probably nicer, but we have to stay in the courtyard because of our dog. These rooms are definitely dated but it's nice that they allow dogs. It's very convenient to get outside lots of grassy areas. Hotel also has good restaurants, food court connected theater in bowling alley. Staff here is very friendly. I want to give a shout out to Britney at the front desk who was especially helpful when we needed to extend our stay because of our sick older dog, recuperating from oral surgery.

We love coming to Wildhorse! The Traditions restaurant is delicious as is their food court! We love that they are a smoke free facility so smoking is only allowed outside. They have a bowling alley, arcade, movie theater, children's entertainment center (which is a day care for kids 13 and under), pool, hot tub and of course the hotel and casino. We have stayed many times and utilized all of the facilities. They were all fantastic!!! The children's entertainment center is amazing!!!! They are all so very kind and engaging with the kids. They have. Play structure in there, video games crafts and other fun activities. You pay by the hour and can include meals and drinks for your kids. We love that it's super secure! You present your driver's license when checking them in and out and only you can get them out. I could literally go on and on about Wildhorse! Check it out, you will not be disappointed!

Previously had issues years ago when it was under different ownership. Issue was resolved asap and management apologized.
Power happy guard doesn't know how to tell the truth and avoid power struggles. I was crisis trained through Cornell Universities program. The same training cops are required to have. More credentials than private security.
Was treated like I was a liar and like I was crazy even though I've never had a ticket or offense in my life.
I was compliant, wasn't rude, and did exactly as I was told as the moron decided to tell me I was kicked out for 24 hours. Even though it was the first time I was told I wasn't allowed to do what I was doing. Proceeded to tell me it was my last warning even though it was my first. I came back and talked to other departments and they didn't understand why it was an issue to begin with and agreed that the situation didn't need to be handled the way it was.
After being told I couldn't do it anymore, I left and I was followed by a tribal police officer all the way back to town. More than 5 miles which is illegal. Management did not talk to me or tell me what was going on and neither did tribal police. The only person who talked to me was the power happy security guard who of course handled the situation alone.
I told him I was recording and the guard repeated "I know I am." He doesn't need to intentionally gas light and use manipulative statements to subtly irritate others. It's completely unprofessional.
I'll be carrying something from my own personal collection valued at $8k. If I'm forced to throw my own things back I'll pull out the receipts and file charges.
He's lucky I don't file charges to begin with since I have disorders and harassing a person with disorders is a crime. Psychologically manipulating people with disorders is known as abuse too. Treat me like I'm crazy again and I'll press charges against the exact person who did it as well as the company if it's not handled appropriately.

I love this casino! This is my local casino and yeah everyone loses every once in awhile. But I somehow always win jackpots here. I have won jackpots ranging from $500-$5000. This casino also has a kid friendly children's entertainment center and arcade that doesn't charge an arm and a leg! And the rooms are always clean! They also have awesome staff. I would recommend anyone to try this casino out, you won't be disappointed.

Service can do better. It seems like everyone working there is less motivated. Don't get me wrong, you have some workers that make the experience enjoyable, but overall, most seem unhappy to work there. I get it life must be unhappy at times, but the customer is paying for experience and for the service. Just because we are not paying 5 star resort prices does not mean we should take 1 star resort services. A paying customer is a paying customer. It doesn't matter if we tip big or tip small if you don't want us there, then we are glad to our money and spend it where we are appreciated. Everything was okay. I'm going to say it's a 5 star place, but the only thing I recommend is to make every customer's experience the best experience regardless of how much we pay and for goodness sakes please put a smile on your faces. It does not cost anything to treat people nicely, kind, and with respect.

Review is for the casino only. Did not stay in the hotel. Second time here, walking out a winner again so obviously I LOVE this place! I had $150 free play from my last visit and $10 for food. 😀 I only play slot machines but I come in ready to lose it all so if you're not ready to take a loss don't do it! I didn't lose last night tho, or the last visit 😬 Oh, and us truck drivers are HUGELY thankful for providing us with a safe place to park overnight. Thank you thank you THANK YOU!

Had a great time with my family. Great staff that were helpful and friendly. Pretty clean overall. My only complaint is the music videos of choice playing on the big screen for my 2 yr old, 4 yr old, 9, and 11 yr old to see and ask questions about why they were seeing such inappropriate things..... call me old fashioned but my kids arent allowed to see or are familiar with skin showing and mature dancing. 🤔 firework show was pretty cool! Would definitely go again better prepared. Just change the music video selection, pretty please!
Sincerely, a mom trying to raise her kids right.

My only complaint was they needed to clean their hallways. The hallways looked like they haven't been cleaned in a month. The rooms was very nice and cleaned. Wild experience and a fun New Year's Eve! We spent one night her and 2 additional nights elsewhere due to availability. The room was clean and I had no complaints. The only downside was that to get to the pool you had to walk through the lobby, next to the check in desk and past the gift shop for access. Great weekend overall!

Room was out dated and definitely needs new clocks and outlets were worn-out and plug kept falling out. But dinner was good at the sports bar. Didn't do any gambling but a good selection of games and table games too. Valet was good too, they let us park our bikes were they could see them and all was good. Would I stay there again? Definitely, just hopefully they will update the outlets and clock. The room did have a mini fridge and it was quite and worked great and clean.

Rv resort is ran down and could use some attention. Casino is a run of the mill casino. Staff are very friendly. Arcade is nice. Children’s play area is lacking. Food court has excellent food for the price. Ice cream is good as well. We did not partake in the movie theater or bowling so I cannot comment although both look nice.

We went bowling here, and we had a great time, even though we're not good at bowling. A friendly server brought over a pitcher of water and cups for our group. There are a lot of family-friendly options for entertainment, and there is even child care for ages 3 to 13. The sign says your child should be potty-trained because they can not change diapers. The employees in the child care area were very kind.

I loved the fact it has SEMI TRUCK PARKING!
Has shuttle from the parking lot to casino area for us drivers!

Love the ice cream place & you got your moneys worth for the 3 scoop bowl! It was only $4 you can’t get that at the truck stop! Lol
Movie theater & bowling alley was clean also!
Reasonable prices for movie .. $10 for adult & $9 for small snacks including drink ..popcorn.. & theater sized candy!

2/26/24 stayed one night for my birthday. The room was gross. Carpets badly stained, holes in the curtains. Furniture is very old and has finish worn off and stained, bead spread was dingy tattered and losing threads. Toilet is from an elementary school about 12 inches tall.
It was a Monday night so the good restaurant was closed. No place to get anything but bar food. A diner with an extremely limited menu. When seated they put a sign in your face telling you there’s a 90 minute maximum at the table. Overall a very unsatisfactory experience and won’t be returning. Even though I won money. It’s the furthest one can get from a resort experience….

Gross treatment from the dark-haired lady at the lobby bar. She tried banning me because she thought my ID was invalid & was super rude about it (I had 4 other employees check it throughout my stay and no one had a problem with it, I even joined their club with it) So they need to get their employees on the same page and teach her specifically customer service skills

RV overnight dry camping stay. Great location and lots of amenities at this casino, including a movie theater and bowling alley, ice cream shops, a food court and restaurants...and the casino! The best part is that they do not require RVers to join the players club or register to overnight in the dry camping area of their parking lot. We had a great dining experience at the Traditions Restaurant, too. We walked the family friendly carpeted path at the outer fringes of the casino and hotel to get a bit of exercise after our dinner. We'll be back!

Pendleton Underground Tours offers a walking tour that delves into the city's intriguing history, including its shady past involving gamblers, opium dens, and Chinese laborers. The tour explores underground tunnels where Chinese laborers lived while working on regional railroad operations and where illicit businesses like brothels and speakeasies operated with hidden escape tunnels. This unique experience provides insight into Pendleton's captivating past and is a must-do activity in town for those interested in local history.
I've heard people talk about this underground tour and wanted to check it out.
This tour did not disappoint! The history is AMAZING and simply fascinating!
Becky (I think was her name) was our tour guide. She was fabulous! She has a stellar personality and made the tour fun and informative.
There is one downfall-- I wanted more! I didn't want it to end. I wanted to go as far as the underground would take us!
We will definitely do this again! They told us about an adult tour that sounds awesome!

Wow! What a great tour and such a neat place to see. I know it gets great reviews on google, but the pictures and reviews do not do it justice! It far exceeded my expectation. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. I would definitely recommend this tour! A very reasonable price that makes it affordable for all! Thanks for providing such a great activity for visitors to learn about the history of Pendleton!

This has been on my bucket list for years and I finally got to cross it off.
The tour guide, Matt Ramirez, was so knowledgeable and entertaining; that place is historical beyond belief.
The historical value of this endeavor is priceless and I commend the Non Profit for this undertaking in doing their part to preserve the history of this area.
The tour itself was fascinating seeing how people were forced to live and how they, as a people, overcame their obstacles.
I'm not proud of the facts this history represents, but it is vital we keep things like this alive, so future generations can learn from it.
It truly is remarkable and a MUST SEE whether you are local and have never been, or just passing through.
There is also a quaint gift shop and the young lady working there was delightful and I found several must haves to take home with me.
It was all well worth the afternoon we spent there!
Just a few of the several dozen pics I took, simply fascinating!

Tour is an amazing 1.75 hr long opportunity to gain some understanding of Chinese life in Pendleton, Oregon and understand their incredible contributions to America beginning in the mid 19th century through the turn of the 20th century and beyond. This was a neat thing to do while passing through. The staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable. It was interesting going through the rooms and learning about a shady part of history. So why 4 stars? First, our guide was great, he explained things as we walked through each room. The price was a little high but in todays day and age it was worth it, especially seeing our guide pointed out other local free attractions and let us know if we showed our tickets where we could get discounts. The 3 issues to bring it down a star, first, way to many people on the tour, you are in tight little rooms down underground with no air flow, put that with a big (about 14 people) group it gets hard to breath, plus mid tour 2 people left early because they felt ill, again they where crammed in tiny rooms with us for the last 45 minutes, the second issue is the bathroom situation, they encourage you to drink water as some rooms can be very warm, but for the 1 1/2 hour tour there is no bathrooms, and the third, doing the tour is not easy, your going down stairs, then up stairs, then back down and up and down and up, and the flooring in almost every room is uneven and you have to watch your footing, if you have any difficulties with stairs, or walking in general pass up on this tour. It was interesting and overall a good time and the guide was great, I would recommend doing it if you can get in with a smaller crowd.
Serene glacial lake with hiking trails, campsites & a cable car to the top of Mount Howard.
Our first time here and we loved it. Nestled back in the rocky terrain leaves you surrounded by close up giant peaks of several large mountains right from your camp site. Having a playground and large field in the middle of the park was extremely handy if you're a family with young kids. The Wallowa lake is a good size and they offer rentals for paddle boats, small fishing boats and paddle boards at a pretty reasonable price. If you're looking for more, within a 5 minute drive you have several local places to eat and a handful of entertainment for the family like mini golf and go carts. If you're looking for more scenery type action the tram to the top of the mountains is an unbeatable option especially being so close to camp as well (3 minute drive). The camp hosts and rangers were all nice and hospitable and the facilities were about as well kept as they could be. Cleaned constantly and always supplied with paper products. There were even some residential deer that would casually walk through camp and even right up to people. Cheap firewood and ice were easily accessible and the little market nearby had almost any essential you forgot. They also had very nice facilities to shower in that seemed nicer than some motel's. All together it was a very enjoyable stay and I highly recommend this campground for everyone young, old, family, single, experienced, new, rv or tent this place has something for everyone and is definitely worth the drive! We can't wait to go back.

A magical place with the towering Wallowa Mountains,
a glacial lake, a large campground, a marina and
awe inspiring views that will create memories for a lifetime.
I stayed at the Wallowa Lake Lodge next to the park and took a walk in the park every morning to experience the
sunrise over the lake.
The park is very popular in
the summer with a beach, picnic tables, a marina with
watercraft for rent, tent and
full hookup sites, and the
Little Alps Day use area with
access to the Eagle Cap Wilderness.
The park is near the Wallowa Lake Tramway and an alpine theme village with restaurants,
shops and places to stay.
Located about six miles from Joseph on the Wallowa Lake Highway and next to the
Wallowa Lake Lodge.
A great to experience a glacial lake with mountains near the wilderness with a number of activities including hiking
and camping, nearby restaurants, and memories
that you will always remember.

Great park. Fun to see wildlife in the park. We have seen the typical deer and ground squirrel but also fox. Visiting is always nice, close enough to walk into the little town and Joseph is not too far to drive for a special meal. The marina is an option to keep a boat when camping instead of crowding the campsite. Win, win.

Situated at the North end of Wallowa Lake, it is a great spot to camp in tent or rv ( DRY and Power/Water only ), launch Motorcraft at several different ramps, there is a rocky silty Beach with very clean safe swimming ( 70 degrees ) kayaking, paddle boarding area stretching from the boat ramps at west to the river inlet on the east side, there the water dropped about 20 degrees in temp. This spot is popular for fly fishing. Very nice. Also there was no day use fee being collected. We do prefer the south end as it's a nicer view and less congested for swim and paddle activities. Don't miss the creek / river at the amphitheater parking .. truly idyllic lunch picnic spot. This is a really clean uncrowded beautiful place with the best swimming water ( aside from the ROCKY beach ).
Joseph is much nicer than most resort towns and

Well organized and relatively clean camping sites next to the Wallowa River and Lake. Beautiful mountains surround the state park. There are a few restaurants and a store within walking distance too.
Lovely spot for a stay with few corporate chains in town. Chief Joseph’s grave is at the north end of the lake, another attraction to this wonderful place.

Went camping here with my family in late May. The camping site was big enough for two tents, a camper and a place for our volleyball net. Such a beautiful area! Camped here once as a kid many years ago and it’s still a great area! Wild life (gophers, chip munks, etc) are nice to have around your campsite as well. Lake is always gorgeous as is. There was plenty of trees too so we could have our dogs tied up as well. There’s the go carts, mini golf course, and gift shops and everything close but as well. The lake is just a short walk. Great prices! Can’t wait to go back!

Had a short stay at this cool little State Park snuggled up to a small range of cool mountains. I can imagine that the locals, who are avid mountain climbers, really get out and adventure through the range.
-
Managed to get out and see some cool scenes, lots of diving ducks, bald eagles, osprey, the Aurora Borealis on one night and some cool landscapes.
Aurora Borealis was captured on my Iphone Long exposure 30 seconds.

Showers are a bonus to the lush park. I feel that it can be crowded during holidays and weekends in peak season and that privacy is limited as sites are close to each other.
Group of deer adds to the beauty of the natural setting, humans and their pet dogs are can intrude and limit the animals natural behaviors.
The town of Joseph, the lake and the trails are accessible nearby.

Nice campground with easy access to the south side of the lake. When the water level is high, there is no sandy beach and you need to walk through wet, muddy terrain to get to the lake. The campground is a quick 10-15 min drive from downtown Joseph which is awesome for souvenir shops and tons of local restaurant choices. The marina is very close to the campground and also has a huge parking lot if you have a boat. There are tons of squirrels, chipmunks and other members of the rodent family abound in the campground and they are not scarred of people. This campground also has a reputation for lots of deer walking through it.
The campground has full hookups at each site with electric, water and sewer, although BE AWARE, they ask you to only dump GREY WATER down the sewer at the site. We talked to our neighbors and they said that is a fairly new "rule" within the last couple years. I would be shocked if everyone in the entire campground just used the single black water dump station at the entrance and not dumped their black tank at their site. As far as I can tell, there's no possible way they could monitor what tank you're dumping in the sewer.
THE ONLY NEGATIVE for this campground is the sites are VERY CLOSE TOGETHER. Some sites don't even have 20 feet between your site and the backside of the next camper. It really seemed like they tried to pack as many spots in the campground as they possibly could get away with. If you don't mind being close to all your neighbors, then the campground is great, no other complaints.
Michael Baxter — Google review
Great park, clean and stocked bathrooms. Campsites offer zero privacy but all campers were respectable and not loud. I felt like my belongs was safe durning the day when I was gone, as staff is always around. No camp fires were aloud and all fire pits were taped over. No annoying animals trying to get into everything on Labor Day weekend. Verizon had barely any service but if you drive a mile up the road along the lake you get cell reception.

Highly recommended, this place for all ages. They open June through September. Ticket was $38 for adults, $35 for seniors,$28 for kids and under 3 years of age was free. Four people can ride very comfortably on the tram, although you have to purchase tickets for each an individually. On the top there is a restaurant with reasonable price.

Everyone should try it at least once in their life. This tram goes WAY up there, it's a pretty long little ride. The tram you ride in is fully enclosed so if you only have a little bit of a fear of heights, you still feel completely comfortable. The real treat is being up on top and not having to have even contemplated the insane hike it would have been to get up there, and getting to hike around on top and take in the views. The marmots are super friendly, the people up there were nice, and there is a cool little restaurant we really enjoyed.
Robynn Johnson — Google review
I've been riding the tram to the top of Mt. Howard for 45 years and NEVER tire of the view. Yes, it's currently $40.00 per person for a day pass (same as last year) but, in my opinion, well worth the price, particularly for families that aren't able to make the long overnight hikes into the Eagle Cap Wilderness to get similar views.
Once at the top, enjoy the trail system that takes you all around the top of the mountain. Make sure you're able to hike up steep trails in lower than normal oxygen.
A lot of people like riding up just to take in a meal at the Summit Grill. I've eaten there and taken in an ale or two a few times since it opened. It's come a long way since then but plan on setting aside some time to get a table and get your meal. Food is fine, but typical fare. Hey, they're the only game in town!

Still chilly on the top, so bring warm clothes. There was a queue (~20 minutes) at the ticket booth on a Saturday. We were told the bathrooms on the top was was still frozen at the end of May. But there is bathrooms at the base. Tickets are good for the day, with no restrictions on number of trips.

The Wallowa lake tramway is a must visit for anyone who goes to Wallowa Lake. It is expensive to ride but you can make a whole day of it with hiking and nature watching.
I recommend bringing good walking shoes, water, and snacks. Also a hat, light jacket, and sunblock. The air is thinner and it makes the hiking harder as there is less oxygen.
The view is unparalleled and the hiking trails very pretty. There is a small restaurant that is reasonably priced but it can get quite busy during the tourist season.
Be aware that during high wind times the tram won’t run. The last time I went we waited over an hour to get back down as the trams were stuck waiting for the wind to die down.

A very unique and amazing
experience with greats views
of the Wallowa Mountains
and surrounding areas of
the Eagle Cap Wilderness.
The Tram takes you up
Mt. Howard in about fifteen
minutes up to an elevation
of 8150 feet.
As you depart the Tram, look
for information signs on the
four hiking trails that are a short
distance away.
The view of the Seven Devils
and Wallowa Mountains are
amazing to see.
A number of other great views
include Wallowa Lake and
Valley, the steeps slopes of the
Hurwal Divide and the Eagle
Cap Wilderness.
The Summit Grill is near the Tram,
but there was a long line due to
staffing issues.
Located near Wallowa State Park
on the road from Joseph.
Tickets can be reserved in advance
or at the ticket booth.
A amazing experience that you
will never forget with stunning
mountains views, a tram that
goes up over four thousand feet, and the opportunity to hike at 8150 feet without climbing a mountain.

Absolutely wonderful experience! Worth every penny. This is a great activity for a lighter activity day in between more involved hikes in the Eagle Cap Wilderness. I highly recommend taking the 2.5 mile hike at the top visiting all the viewpoints.

Totally worth the $36! You can grab a refreshing drink at the top and do 30 min loop to enjoy the views!
FYI: they charge $2 for face mask. Bring your own if you don't want to pay that.

Went on the last day of the season, had purchased tickets months ahead of time, had to go. So foggy, couldn't see much. Snow on the top, that was fun. Windows of tram were fogged up, we asked if they could Squeegee them. They said, "sorry we can't it will scratch the windows." 🤣 We had a good laugh at that on the way down. Still fun ride up and down. Workers all very friendly. Probably, best to not go on a foggy day, save your money.

Great experience to do at least once every 5 years. Price is $45 a person, so a bit pricey. Worth it though if you plan to make a day out of it and do some hiking or spend time at the Cafe at the top. There was live music at the top when we went so that was really cool. The cafe at the top has very good food, a lot better than you'd expect, and prices are very fair for cafe so definitely a must do. Bring a water bottle unless you want to buy bottled water at the top. Staff are friendly. Views from the top at the valley overlook are amazing and its so quiet up there so a great place to spend some time at peace.
Casual B&B set in a restored 1864 hotel offering hot spring tubs, a day spa & a sculpture gallery.
Loved our stay in 209! Shared bathroom wasn't a problem. Laid back and relaxed vibe. Historic charm mixed with modern furniture. Cleaning and service are high priority. Soaking pools were amazing! It was windy! We did heavy shoes and water bottles like their site said, and I tied my long hair up. Loved the contrast of warm water while the cool wind hit exposed skin, and appreciated the robes for overnight guests. Read about the history of the hotel and owners before you go. Very cool stuff! They're clearly pouring their hearts into creating an experience to remember. They're still renovating, but you can see their vision coming to life. Embrace ALL of the experience and you will have a great time! We also stayed in a yurt at the property next door, Grande Hot Springs RV Resort. This was hands down one of the most relaxing anniversary trips we’ve ever taken.

The hot pools were really nice. Over looking a beautiful scenery. Especially if you can catch a good sunset. I preferred the pool with the surrounding rocks on the far end. Bring your own towel if you're not an over night guest. The hotel is really cool and they offer chilled mineral water to drink, after sitting in the hot pools it's appreciated & much needed. Did not stay overnight but would like to. The pub could use more food and drink options but from what I understand they have plans for that.
Monica Milligan — Google review
We did not stay overnight, but we visited the hot spring facility. We all enjoyed our time and were fascinated by the rich history of not only the building but also the place. The hot spring in the lake is over 200° F. They require reservations for the hot spring, so there is a feeling of privacy while using the facility, which is a nice contrast to some of the other hot springs I have visited.

We had a dear friends wedding to go to nearby. We arrived to check out the hotel about 1 to 2 hours prior to normal check in times. We had just driven from Nampa Idaho and explained this. We were hoping for a basic courtesy and asked if they would let us check in early as I has some medical equipment I had to use overnight and needed to setup, on top of driving a few hours to this highly rated hotel to watch my best friend get married. They didn't even consider the early check in, medical needs be damned, so we took a quick look of the premises to take it in, and continued onto the wedding a few miles away. We get there around 930 or 10 pm that same night to check in. They are confused about how many are in our party and say they have to charge us $40 more for having 2 extra people when we reserved a 2 bedroom room. That confusion gets cleared up and we go to our room. No TV. No room in the bathroom for more than a toilet and a small sink. Absolutely NONE of the basic pleasures of a hotel. Even Motel 6 has a damn TV. All of this for a whopping $350 a night? This place was terrible for the price, service was mediocre at best, and I was so dissapointed I didn't even make time for the hot tub, because I had to spend whatever energy I had left to move my medical equipment to the room AFTER being in the wedding party. Horrible experience and I will never stay there again. Save your money and just pay the money to soak in the hot springs, that may actually be worth it. Oh! And don't let the cat in, he stays outside.

I spent the day soaking here with my girlfriend. The old historic building has tons of charm. We will be making a trip back to soak and relax. Would highly recommend for any couples seaking a romantic getaway. Soaking in the hot water helped to loosen up my surgically repaired foot. There is also an old cat that lives on the property that was rather entertaining.

This place is awesome. I did the day pass (at the time there was no lodging). Went on a Saturday night and it was cool. Was not “overly” packed. The hot spring tubs feel good. The property cat is friendly, the front desk was amazing. I lost one of my ear buds and the dude was so nice about helping us look for it. The inside of the place is very fancy. Overall I really enjoyed myself and plan on returning to stay in one of the rooms, and enjoy the theatre.

We dropped in for a soak while traveling I-84 back to Portland. What a treat! It was our first visit and you could tell that the soaking area has been updated nicely. It was so relaxing to hang out here.
We are history buff/nerds and this place is brimming with history and great stories. It is clear that the new owners are pouring their hearts (and no doubt a ton of $$$) into this place to restore faithfully. I am looking forward to making a return visit for an overnight stay and more soaking.

Such a cool old hotel with a TON of history! The hot springs are warm and very well kept. We stayed on the third floor and had our own bathroom. The bed was super comfortable and the environment was great. If you love history you'd love this place. Super relaxing and there are a ton of little areas to sit and just relax. With your stay you have access to the hot springs pools 24 hours a day.

Service and location were amazing. Valerie and the ladies in the restaurant were awesome! There are not a lot of choices on the menu, but the Ceasars Salad was very tasty. The room must be booked online and the rates vary greatly depending on what you are looking for. The hot spring and soaking tubs were a good deal at the regular price and awesome at the 2 for 1 price.

Wow, what an incredible property! They are still working on renovations but it adds a nice laidback charm to the hotel and grounds. This is was an incredibly relaxing place to stay and the 24/7 access the hot spring pools is pretty rare. The staff at the hotel was so nice and helpful, this is a real gem in Eastern Oregon. 100% recommend if you're looking for a place to really kick back and recharge. Bonus points for the incredibly comfortable beds!

Under renovation as of early 2023, this historic building has gone through many uses. Naturally geologically heated mineral lake water is piped into four soaking pools perfect for groups of up to seven. The constantly flowing heated water lends a lovely background babble to a serene lake view.
The rooms are quaint and comfortable, and heated by the hot lake as well. The whole hotel is warm and cozy even in the snow and wind.
It's very quiet but the walls are very thin so the peaceful atmosphere is maintained by everyone keeping a low volume. If you're looking for a rambunctious night after soaking, seek other accommodations.

Love it. Haven't stayed here yet but have soaked for the evening which was great until a kid showed up and started bouncing between soaking tubs, kids above 12 are allowed... Kid might have been 12 but did not respect the adults trying to relax. The pub was cool and all the sitting areas in the lodge were plentiful and great. Front desk made my husband wait until I was present (I was in the restroom) to allow us to go to the soaking area and let multiple parties go ahead of us (including one without a reservation), this was after we had gotten there 15 min early before anyone and could not be served because the front desk was on lunch so this was very annoying because those people got first dibs on the soaking tubs.

We really enjoyed our stay. This place exudes historic character. The rooms were tastefully appointed, comfortable and cozy. I especially enjoyed the common areas in this historic place, someone here has a real green thumb as the wide variety of house plants were in great shape.. The comfy couches for reading on the second floor sun room had ample windows to enjoy the streaming sunlight and Mountain View’s. The hot springs were super relaxing, clean and hot. The pub was fun as we played table games and enjoyed some beers without having to leave. While the menu is limited, what we ordered was solid considering you don’t have to leave—I especially liked the Italian meatballs with house marinara. The house coffee was really good and the breakfast items were appreciated. Overall, this place exudes historic charm, was clean and tastefully appointed—I’d highly recommend it to someone looking for a relaxing get away.

Really cool hotel. Obviously still undergoing renovations, but my room (209) was very cute and stylish, with a nice view of the mountains. The water running through the pipes and radiator constantly might bother some, but I found it kind of relaxing. All staff I encountered were very friendly.

We stayed the night and had a great time. It was quiet, peaceful and the tubs were perfectly HOT! First time here and we will return! It is a little pricey but we would still recommend this to our friends and family! We’ve stayed in absolute dumps that charge more than this place and we think the price was reasonable for what you get. I did read some of the 1 star reviews and think it’s too bad that people rate this place down because they can’t bring kids. I’m sorry, I have no desire to be at a hot springs hotel and listen to kids or deal with them being all over the place. We have four of our own and this is not a place I’d bring them to. People are here to relax, not listen to kids or share a tub with them. We also did not have any bad experiences with the staff. The front desk folks were pretty quiet but friendly, but the two working in the restaurant were very nice and let us sit at the bar a few minutes before closing time. As for people being upset for how crowded tubs are. We shared the tub once with another couple and it was nice to chat and relax in the tub! Most guests shared tubs with others and people were just fine! Also, most people are not soaking ALL night long. It gets hot! Relax, have a drink or sit and play with Rocky the cat. You will get a tub to yourself if you’re just patient lol!

An extremely romantic and calm location. We had a wonderful time. The staff were attentive and friendly, the hotel was spotlessly clean. The pools are hot and worked out every knot in my back. Historic place to relax and soak. Don’t expect a fancy hotel - come for the experience. After 8pm and into the night you’ll be all alone in the tubs. Tubs are 100-107F and the staff regularly adjusts the temperature so that you can handle the winds (if present).
It’s our 5th stay, it’s fun to see the hotel renovations progress each visit!

We send visitors to Hells Canyon to George and Lynette for their rafting experience. They are the best!
Simple resort featuring a hot, spring-fed swimming pool, tent camping & RV sites & trailer cabins.
This is a great place to put your RV and soak in their hot pool. The people are friendly and the scenery is off the charts beautiful!.

In the middle of a small trailer park. So not exactly scenic.
Otherwise nice if you like to hang out in hot water.
Very clean shower / restroom. Also warm changing room at the opposite end of the pool.
Very clean hot spring pool.
Towels available to rent.

We loved this little gem not too far from home. Wasn't crowded or packed when we went. Very nice and clean facility. And the staff is super nice! We will definitely be back.
Jennifer Glasgow — Google review
This place doesn't seem like much from the approach, but once inside it is beautiful. Everything was so clean. Water felt amazing. Prices are super reasonable. It's a soaking pool, not a swimming pool so I wouldn't recommend for families with little ones who want to run and play. There is also a ramped entry for anyone with limited strength or mobility to get in. We had made reservations for two 2-hours sessions but were so utterly relaxed and sleepy after one that there was no way we could do two. And the heated changing rooms were SO nice after getting out of the water on a cold day. All in all we had a wonderful time and definitely plan to go back. We would also consider staying in one of the RV spaces or even renting one of their cabins. The staff was incredibly friendly as well. You can tell there's great pride in ownership just by looking at the place. Can't wait to go back.

They were nice enough to fit us in last minute on Sunday. The pool is nice and fed with the hot spring water. Bring your own towels and also water and drinks to keep hydrated. The price is so reasonable for the pool! $10/ p for 2 hrs!

This hotspring was awesome! Their bathrooms were nice and tidy and smelled fresh! When we went there weren't but 6 or 7 in the pool and it was so nice... reservations are required so just make some :) . Lots of parking out front. Looks like it would be a really nice place to camp! There are lockers too!!! We will be back!

Camping was good. Employees were nice enough to open the bathroom for us. We were the only ones camping. It was cold but comfortable in our trailer with heat. Hot Springs were perfect. 2 hour slot was definitely enough time to enjoy.

Very beautiful place to rest and relax. They keep it pretty monitored so it's relaxing no matter how full the pool is, which is so nice. Family friendly, and very clean. Something the website doesnt mention is, you'll need a reservation. So call ahead during hours & remember to reserve your spot!

This was a great outdoors hot spring. MAKE SURE TO MAKE A RESERVATION! We drove 2 hours and almost did not get to soak because we were not aware of needing a reservation. The lady squeezed us in (thankfully). So all in all I would rate this a 8 out of 10.

Decided to check this place out. What a surprise! The pool is amazing!! Very clean!
The RV park was okay. Nothing fancy, but it's camping! Who needs fancy!?
They do have a little bistro. We didn't try the food, because we didn't have time.
The prices are very fair. The owner was VERY nice. We will definitely go again!

Oregon Trail Ruts Access...
The interpretive center is closed due to renovation, but we found these wagon ruts right off of the highway in Baker, OR.
The access area is off the highway before you reach the entry to the interpretive center on the left if you are heading north.
I can't imagine their journey. Just to look at the terrain with the dips, hills, brush, and rocks, you have to wonder how they made it through. Not to mention the summer heat and lack of water or the frigid winters.
Many of the ruts were plowed over for farming. I'm glad some still exist. It's a short walk down a dirt path to where the ruts are. The Oregon Trail history is so intriguing if you haven't read up on it.
There are no amenities at this access point other than a small gravel parking lot. I'm not certain if a wheelchair or walker could navigate the path. I think a jogging stroller could make it.

Unfortunately it was closed for renovations. However we were able to go see the trail just about 1/4 mile down the road. Very interesting. Would be nice if someone could build a shelter over the tracks to preserve them.

We got there on a Sunday.
My kids loved the outdoor display and walking paths. We missed getting to go inside, but had fun anyway.

Was interesting to see. They have some covered wagons outside and a few buildings you can walk to. We went the third week of July and all the inside stuff was still closed. Also was extremely smokey from all the wild fires. Still would recommend a visit. We stayed less than an hour.
Melissa Kincaid — Google review
Sadly the building was still closed but the Rangers did such a great job telling stories of times gone by. Truly a great place to check out and learn about some crazy people who blazed the trail. And some adorable kids with a blue bucket full of pretty yellow rocks :)

Extremely well done 👍 Animals and people and wagona and scenes looked so real and authentic. 1.5 hours seemed to fly by even though we didn't make time for the 1-hour video or the outside trails because it was very cold and our dog was in the car. Lots of interesting history and quotes. School kids were doing a bingo game and question contest by viewing all the exhibits and the we're all dressed in costumes of the day, as we're the adult escorts. Highly recommend this even if you are not into history or museums like myself.

Unfortunately the indoor facility was closed. However, the exterior areas were clean and full of visitors!. Very informative information at the exterior displays.
This is an EXCELLENT stop...a must...if you are home schooling or are on family vacation. lots of trails and outdoor displays.
The displays are actually so realistic, until I read the disclaimer about 'replicas' I thought they were real...

Really great displays, and super knowledgeable rangers ;)
The actual hours are 9:00-6:00 during the warm months, don't let the time on Maps fool you. Good trail system, 2.5 mile loop. My advice: Skip the movie (which you could watch anywhere) and go through the indoor exhibit, taking your time. Definitely check out the trails and mines if you have time!

Fun place to learn much about a key American
1943 mile long land mark. Good for all ages. $8 per person or free with Parks Pass. Plan on spending at least
1 1/2 hours.
Large historic building with artifacts & changing interpretive displays related to the area's past.
I have visited quite a few museums and I have to say for a small town museum this one has a world class gem and minerals exhibit that will amaze you.. then there's the exhibit for one of my favorite movies of all time that was filmed in the area. "Paint Your Wagon" . So if you like rocks and gems, Oregon history and beautiful antiques, you don't want to miss this place.. I definitely recommend stopping by and checking this place out for yourself.. absolutely awesome.. plan for plenty of time because it takes a while to see it all..

Visited in July2022.....what a fabulous museum. I was in the area to visit the Oregon Trail Museum nearby...all the way from UK, only to find it closed for renovations! So this museum was a great find as we were staying in Baker City. It provided all I wanted and more on my interest in Oregon Trail history and the history of the gold rush and the local area. Including the nearby filming of the 1960s musical Paint Your Wagon! Well worth a visit. Don't miss it.

This is a lovely little museum. I'd never been to Baker before and looked up things to do. This place popped up and I thought I'd give it a try. It's modestly priced ($9 admission for adults with discounts for kids and seniors I believe) and it has one of the best "rock rooms" I've ever seen. Seriously, the rock room blew my mind. I was here for 2 hours and practically the whole time I was looking at rocks, minerals, and crystals. If you love rocks, come to this place.

This Museum is amazing! So worth checking out. Cost is $8 to get in and the amount of things to see from the early days in Oregon is remarkable! Also if you are a rock hound and love nice specimens from the area and beyond with private collections on their stones is fabulous! Don't walk but run to go see this rad Museum!

One of the great regional museums of Oregon featuring the history of Baker
County industries and one of
the largest rock, gem and mineral exhibits in the country.
The first floor will take you to an exhibit from the Oregon Trail Museum, which is
currently being renovated.
The Calvin-Warfel Rooms
takes you through the 18-ton collection of two sisters that
started locally in the 1930s.
The collection includes rocks, fossils, and gems from around the world and from Oregon.
The rooms include the
Billy Wyatt Cabochon Collection featuring agates,
jaspers, and cabochons.
The pool room includes exhibits on mining,
agriculture, and model sets from the movie
Paint Your Wagon.
The upstairs ballroom exhibits include Chinese heritage, period rooms from the
past, a school room and Airstream Trailer.
The gift shop has a number
of rocks and thundereggs and a nice selection of books.
Located on Grove Street in Baker City in the old Natatorium (Swimming Pool)
A great place to spend an afternoon learning
about the history of Baker County including wiildlife, timber and one of the best collections of rocks, gems
and minerals.

This museum is amazing. Our tour guide was super cool. Pointed out things we never would have noticed. He gave the kids little chunks of fools gold. It's free for kids under $12. Definitely worth the stop while passing through. No ragrets. Not even one letter.

Wow, an incredible museum in Baker City Oregon. It's a definite must go. So many awesome exhibits. And a huge Rock And Gem Collection. I'd highly recommend checking this place out went with my mom and grandma.
This is a cool old gold mining dredge that has been restored and now sits in a park area in the historic gold mining town of Sumpter Oregon where the dredge operated for many years. There is also a nature path there for you to explore the dredge ponds, flowers and a board walk to enter and explore the dredge.
As you come through the valley you'll see the old dredge piles running along the river as you come to the turn-off for Sumpter.
I love it up there. Enjoy!

Came up on the fall colors train and had enough time to check this place out before heading back down. It's a very cool part of Oregon history and an amazing machine. I can only imagine how noisy it was as it moved along shoveling rocks and spitting them out. It definitely left it mark on the landscape and mother nature is slowly taking it back over time.. definitely worth checking out if you are in the area..

Handicap accessibility ♿️. Guided tours are every hour on the dot. Last tour is normally 2pm. We went on a Sunday at 2 pm. I highly recommend taking a guided tour.
There is a path you can take to look at some old mining equipment nearby with benches along the path. Picnic tables are available nearby.
They also have a hands on pan for gold activity for the whole family to try, but that is $5 per person.
There is a train ride the whole family can take. I took a picture 📸 how much and what times.
It has a nice little gift shop with informational posters throughout, and you can get a picture in and around some real mining carts in front of the visitor center 😀.
Overall, it is a great family activity to do.

Went for a drive and happened across this amazing dredge restoration, only saw outside as people were decorating inside for Halloween and it was unclear if the general public was allowed access during this time.
We had a very nice lunch at the cannabis store grill, a nice Philly cheesesteak with fries, OMG so flavorful and what an amazing roll they put it on, and the fries were cooked perfectly!!
All in all a wonderful time was had in Sumpter Oregon, friendly folks, quaint little town, and rich in gold mining history!

A must visit place and super cool town. The old Sumpter Valley gold Dredge is Amazing thing to see with your own eyes.
It was a floating factory out in the middle of nowhere - they must have railed all the components on site then built it. Amazing feat of human ingenuity. Be sure to walk the short trail to witness how much material this dredge ever moved when it was under operation.
Brian Keep — Google review
The Sumptner Dredge has been restored nicely. It was very interesting to walk through and experience the history. There's a nice short overlook path that offers great views for pictures. There is a demonstration on how to pan for gold, but only on weekends. You get to try it yourself.

What a Wonder this dredge must've been in its day!! You can see where it was used by
all the tailings around town . Well taken cared of, located in the middle of town. Nice walking path around the dredge with benches along the way. Couple kiosks with pictures of it in use. Just approximately 30 miles out of Baker City on hwy 7, follow signs. They filmed "Ghost Mine" just out of town on Cracker Creek (Crescent Mine).

The dredge is an unbelievable piece of mans motivation to fine gold. This thing is enormous. Unfortunately the visitors center was closed.
This campground is really nice. We have a 39’ class A which fit nicely in the spacious spot. Each spot is pretty private with large hedges separating them. It has water and electric and a dump station. We were able to have campfires. Overall nice place.
Jennifer Lindskoog — Google review
Maybe a 3.5 instead of 4 but only because it’s a heat wave and the water is super gross. The campsites are nice. A bit close if you have someone next to you but the space behind you is a lot, it’s good. For $37 for full hookups it’s decent. The showers are locker room level. Not the worst, they’re OK. Would like to come here when the water is flowing more and not like 10’ stretch of sludgy algae. Pretty open spaces though, trees near the picnic tables is really nice. Pretty quiet out here. Very scenic hills surrounding is quite lovely.
Megan Petersen — Google review
A clean park, nice spot to stretch your legs, but no real trails. It looks like a peaceful place to camp. There's a nice boat dock on the Snake River and a nice view. They also have a fenced in area as a dog park.
Melanie KRD — Google review
The state park here is awesome, granted most of the vegetation is native (sagebrush, sand, natural grasses). There are numerous camp sites, walking paths, restrooms. Boating, fishing or just enjoying the wildlife that frequents the park you have plenty to do. Even your fur babies have a large fully enclosed area to run, play and explore off leash. It makes it nice to not have them tied up the whole time you are there. Just be respectful so we all can have this privilege to use. Not many places have an off leash area that keeps your pets safe.
Richard Scherer — Google review
Great park next to the water. Facilities were excellent. Self check-in was super convenient. Something was in bloom during my May '23 visit, and the air was filled with sweet perfume. Though it is close to a major road, I found the place peaceful. The shower was better than average, with two nozzles.
Kenneth Corley — Google review
The camp hosts were awesome! Bill treats every kid like a grandkid and Becky was awesome enough to drive me into Ontario to get a part for our truck. The river was low but still nice to take the kayaks out and catch some catfish. The showers run hot but are clean. Farewell Bend is a great jump off for a day trip to Craters of the moon. We also went swimming at Givens Hot Springs. If we had more time we would have spent a day at the Wahooz Family Fun Center. Definitely scheduling that in for our next trip this way. We had a fabulous time.
Ronda Coltrin — Google review
Beautiful views and lots of spots. We were able to drive in on a Saturday and get an available site. Paved pads, bathhouses, large spacious sites near the river, shade trees, and nicely maintained. The only downfall was there are no trash receptacles near the sites. You have to go to the exit where the dump-station is located.
Kristene Heeney — Google review
The spaces are nice, showers hit and miss being decently cleaned or a mess. 3 summers we have stayed here and always says the irrigation is being updated. Some watering for the trees and shrubs would be beyond beneficial and mowing would make it a much better place. Drought or no drought trees require water to stay alive. Most are dieing and breaking.
Amy Turner — Google review
The scenery was beautiful here. Beware. We were camping near the lake on catfish loop and the sprinkler leaked and flooded us all around the camper. Also, there are a ton of prickly things in the grass, don't go barefoot!

Beautiful spot right on the river. Lots of bird watching to be had. Two loops to choose from, Brownie and Catfish. Brownie offers more privacy between sites, and more options for larger rigs. Catfish, which was closed when I stayed in late March, felt a little more like sardine camping. Lots of full services sites, fire pits, and free showers.
Howie Outerbridge — Google review
It's quiet, scenic and reasonably priced. No water available for our March 9th stay. Seems they could provide one winterized tap for people to get water. Have stayed here several times, this is the first time the outer, most scenic, loop has been closed.

Hot. But the whole world is getting warmer. Big campsite. Beautiful river. Dump station clean and orderly. Staff are all nice. Quiet. Cannot hear Highway. Can hear occasional train. Cools down at night. Cool mornings. Hot afternoons. I love this country, personally. No humidity. 110 here feels like 95 in Illinois.

Everything about this place is awesome! We booked a cabin right on the Snake River and were super surprised to find that it had AC as well. From our cabin there was no access to the river but that's ok - there is a boat launch area on the grounsd. The grounds are really clean and nicely set up. Bathroom/showers are also really clean. It's close to the highway but you couldn't hear the highway noise - nice and peaceful.
We would definately stay here again and would highly recommend.
Our family visit to the Four Rivers Cultural Center was nothing short of fantastic! With a 9 year old and a 6 year old in tow, we were looking for an engaging and educational experience in the Treasure Valley, and this place exceeded our expectations.
From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and an array of fascinating exhibits that piqued our curiosity about the local history and culture. The center's diverse collection, ranging from art to historical artifacts, provided a comprehensive and captivating overview of the region's heritage.
What stood out was how the exhibits were tailored to all ages, making it a hit with our children. They were completely engrossed in the interactive displays, which not only entertained them but also instilled a sense of learning and discovery. It's not every day that you find a place that can capture the attention of both adults and young children so effectively.
The Four Rivers Cultural Center is a hidden gem in the Treasure Valley, offering a perfect blend of history and interaction that educates and entertains. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this cultural haven promises a memorable experience for families seeking to explore and learn together. Had to call 3 times before receptionist picked up. When I requested to rent a room I gave it in writing and verbally and quote was still incorrect. It took multiple emails and people to correct a time error. The event coordinator was impossible to contact and when contacted by email only, she did not answer any of my questions just replied with the same information I had been provided in the beginning. Very confusing, and no one seemed to have answers to help me.

My parents are wine club members and we just had the most delightful lunch at their tasting room. It was super easy to make a reservation and we got a table next to the window with a nice view of the mountains and part of the grape vines. Our waitress was super sweet, one of our friends can’t have gluten and she made sure to let the kitchen staff know to change their gloves to handle his food. We had their red and white tasting flights, all of the wine was delicious! We had an array of amazing food from their lunch menu but their truffle burger and the elk charcuterie board were to absolutely die for. Cannot recommend enough if you live or are visiting the Boise area. 10/10 experience every time I’m in town to visit.

This is a great place to visit on a nice day, as their outdoor seating is quite pleasant. Excellent service -- not fast, but very friendly, and who is in a hurry while sipping wine? The food isn't exceptional, but it's pretty good (try the truffle fries!) and reasonably priced as winery meals go. We had fun trying a flight (you can choose between a white flight or a red flight), then sharing a bottle of our favorite.

We had a wonderful at the Eagles tribute band performance yesterday.
One opportunity to improve is the reserve table seating. We book early so we could get a table close to grass and we ended up with a table on the patio, the farthest table from stage, that was disappointing. Other than that, the service was excellent and the box dinners were good.
We plan to go again!

I have been a fan of this winery ever since it opened. The wines have always been really high quality, and the owner is so interesting to talk to about how he grows his grapes and makes the wine. The new facility is gorgeous, with inside and patio seating. They also have a talented chef making really good meals to go along with your wine. I had the clams in wine and butter sauce, and they were SO delicious! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly as well. The only drawback is the long drive to get to the winery, but it is worth the drive!

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience Easter Sunday. The food and service were as usual very good. Our unfortunate issue was that we were seated at an indoor table that the sun directly hit through the upper window. It made sitting there miserable. I complained to the owner and he simply didn’t care. I suggested he put a blind in and he basically told me to pound sand. Sad, really like the place but owner is not accommodating.
Spacious entertainment center features go-karts, mini-golf, arcade games & more, plus food & drink.
For something nearby Mountian Home when I come off the road (truck driver) I take my daughter here to bowl and just let have a good time playing games etc. we went on a Thursday and got the all access passes for 40 a person cost me 120 bucks but we spent 6 hours there 😰 so not bad for that kind of money. Don’t know how else to entertain a 7 year old for that long 😂.

Fun place! Although the passes are quite expensive, there was a lot to do. The arcade games are high tech, but the prices to play are too much on top of the passes. We only earned 200 points from the arcade which got me a tiny penguin cheap toy. I would suggest this place for littler kids, or events like birthday parties. Some of the staff were rude but it's a loud and overwhelming place, so it is understandable. Overall, the place was clean, exciting, and the food at their restaurant was great. We ordered one order of fries for $9 and the waitress came out with 2 giant plates of crispy fires! A good way to spend a day if you are willing to splurge a bit. 😄

The Laser mission game girl was really rude to my daughter. My daughter couldn't hear her and she was snappy at her. My daughter said it seemed like she didn't like her job.... It's why I'm only giving 4 stars.
The Dark Ride was so much fun! I would go to Wahooz just for that! I have back issues and I get dizzy pretty easily, but I was able to do good. It's not very jolty.
We couldn't do go-karts due to the rain. We appreciated their decision on keeping us safe.
Most games are $1.25. The full day pass is worth it. I wish we had more time.
I also did bowling and bumper cars, super fun!
Amazing space for company parties! The catering was delicious!

Ok so, you go in and pay for mini golf at the bowling check in. Which of course makes sense. Then you go out back and play a few feet from the interstate. Which is nice. Then they literally have a guy using a jack hammer so loud you can’t hear yourself think just a few feet off hole 12. So you know, at least I got a little hearing loss to take home.

We came here on a Wednesday for their deal they have for unlimited rides and it rained for maybe 10 minutes and they shut everything down outside and told everyone it wouldn’t be reopened. We had just paid when they shut it down and we didn’t get any sort of refund. My kids had been asking to come here for months and we finally did, only for them to be disappointed. We will not be coming back.

Although the restaurant area had a very long wait due to some staffing shortages, our waiter was great, our food tasted great. My Cobb salad was one of the best and biggest I've ever had! All the attendants we encountered were very polite and helpful. We spent a fun afternoon here, and would definitely return!

Great place to brings kids for some mini golf, go carts, ropes course, arcade, bowling and more. Pretty expensive with the only food being also pretty expensive but that is to be expected.
Much to my surprise the water park with their daily deals next door is much cheaper even though they are ram by the same company.

Our kids nearly grew up here. We’ve been visiting for years every time we visit from Seattle. It is difficult to find such massive real estate dedicated to an amusement center. It is clean and filled with fun rides. The kids could spend hours here. We have visited the water park next door too and can’t wait to check it out this year now that it’s expanded.

Definitely a family favorite mini activities to do both indoors and out. I love their food and bowling alley. Prices are fair in the memories you make are Definitely worth it with your children.

My kids and myself absolutely loved this place! We went on a Tuesday the 30.00 dollar deal. They played for 6 hours and never got bored, there is something to do for all ages. The food is also really good, Charlie helped us and was attentive and nice! I would highly recommend this place.

The long lines make it nearly impossible to redeem your tickets, especially if you buy a wrist band. We went on Wed and bought the $30 unlimited pass for 4 hours. We did half a mini golf course (9 holes) and waited for 30 min to do the climbing ropes course, which took another 20 min to complete. Then waited forever in every line until we just wanted to leave. What a waste!! (4 people was $120+)
The go kart attendants load people into karts and rather than tell everyone at the same time the rules they go to all 6 karts (yes only 6 of the 12 available karts go at one time) they go to each kart one and time and spend 2min explaining the rules making the wait time to just get the race started 12 minutes.... after you've waited in line for 20-30min. Absolutely maddening.

This place was amazing, but we only went there for mini golf. They had a bowling alley inside, good outside, water Park area, and amusement rides inside.
We only did golf and had about 9 adults and kids. It was really packed on a Saturday afternoon, but the lines moved fairly well. They do ask for a 5 strike max, so if you don't get the ball in the hole after 5 strokes, please move on. It really helps to keep it from getting congested in the lines.
It was fun golf, not too hard, you actually do fairly well, but still some tricky spots. Kids loved it, really beautiful atmosphere, and a bit of places for shade to hide in when waiting.
My picture will show not the cool decorations and giant sculptures, but the nice areas of sun and shade.
Melissa Rappleye — Google review
We’ve always loved the mini golf and laser tag at this place, but the lines have gotten ridiculous. They seem to have plenty of people to staff everything, but we were here in a Sunday and it was pretty dead for a weekend. Even so, it took 45 minutes to get on the go carts because they were only running a handful of cars at a time. These employees know how to move the lines along, so these wait times seem intentional. If this is how the company wants to run things, I can see why business has dropped off. The wait times make the price too high. I’ll just stick to paying for a round of golf from now on.

Great place to go with the kids, lots of activities- laser tag, laser maze, arcade games, bumper cars, sky ropes course, climbing wall, bowling, go karts, miniature golf. Have fun, enjoy the time with the kids, everyone will love it. It can be pricey.

Wonderful place to take your kids for some family fun. The 4 hour unlimited ride bracelets gave us plenty of entertainment for the price.
Roaring Springs Water Park is an enormous and sprawling water park with a wave pool, lazy river rafting, and lots of waterslides for the whole family to enjoy. It’s perfect for summer days spent swimming, rafting, and sliding around. There are also plenty of food options on site for hungry visitors and a wide variety of drinks to quench their thirst.
It's a great park, a good size and has great staff. It's all pavement - no real trees or grass, a bit like a parking lot and right next to the highway. I came for Slide Nights, which is definitely the way to go to save money and time. It's only $20 for 6-10 pm on Friday and Saturday nights in the summer if you bring a coke can or use the promo code on the website - they tell you exactly what to put in. The regular park hours go until 8 pm, so if it's been a hot day, I'd wait to arrive until 8 pm for the crowds to really disappear. I arrived at 6 pm and still rode everything I wanted to, twice, within 2 hours.
Now, I only did the tube slides, the lazy river, and the wave pool, but the kids areas looked nice, especially the Idaho-themed splash tower. I don't get the "class 5 canyon" lazy river with waves. They offer a kick-board to lean on but you can't really ride the waves that way and any adult will immediately sink one (and they don't let you stack them up.) It would be much more enjoyable with tubes. Otherwise, everything looks great.
Sara Beth Wade — Google review
Pretty awesome I don't think you could have a bad time here. I definitely recommend spending the whole day if it's busy there are lines on every ride!! Wear water shoes or something with a heel strap if it's super hot as the walks between slides are concrete and get super hot.

Fun Family place with a nice smaller feel and everything easy to get to, no masks, very back to normal feel.. plus Shaded canopy tents over chairs, and snack bar foods, BBQgrill restaurants, pizza, subs, etc since you're only allowed to bring in water bottles. Awesome waterslides, lazy river & wave pool. What we liked most is the amount of Tube waterslides.. meaning lots to choose from that have tubes available for free to go doubles on and doesn't hurt your back or scrape your body going down. There are also regular tubeless waterslides available too. The Wave pool goes every 10 minutes and the kids have a blast on the free tubes in there as well or just jumping into the waves.. The only negative is the pool gets very crowded, they need to make another one or add on to this wave pool to make it larger. There's daily Discounts on their website, Mondays are the best deal 8$off full day or 2 for Tuesdays half day passes, and through schools Roaring reader program. Would definitely recommend during the hot summer days!

Great family fun stop. Visit several times every summer; lots of fun water rides, wave pool, lazy river and sun chairs for relaxing. If you have a little one there is a designated kids area that is awesome!

Cool place to chill out with family. Good eating options, not a lot of vegetarian options but one can survive on options available. This is a smaller park area wise than other water parks, which is good so you need not have to walk a lot from one attraction to another. I also liked their spectator option so you can pay only half of the fee if you are not going into the water, but just going for taking care of kids. They also have a lot of sitting areas under shade. I went on a Monday so its not too crowded.

Our family has enjoyed Roaring Springs. There are several slide options that are family friendly and a great variety. The wave pool and lazy rivers are family favorites. The staff are kind and helpful, in fact one of the managers, Jeremy, tracked down my lost sunglasses for me. Thanks! There are food options and the lockers are conveniently located. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a fun time as a family here. I really liked the bigger slides for the little kids. I was shocked my 5 yo went down them all by himself! He was so brave! He hasn't had swim lessons yet. They also have life jackets all around. They had floaty tubes for everyone to use and it wasn't difficult to get one. The lockers are in different sizes and we were able to fit our big duffle bag in one of their larger lockers. Thankful for Rise for hosting an event for their families they have helped! What a treat it was for all of us! 💖💖
Side note: Roaring Springs may want to pressure wash their sidewalks by the construction site 🤣 my kids pointed out some inappropriate pictures of scissors (aka something else 🤣.)

Kids love it. Food is just okay, but what do you expect from a water park. We’ve gotten a cabana both times we’ve gone and it’s so nice to have a shady spot with comfy chairs and couches plus a table, a locker for your valuables and a staff member assigned to helping you. We always had fresh water and never waited in line for food. Love the expansion, our cabana was right along the brand new lazy river. Staff is friendly, helpful and they work hard! Younger generation of lifeguards and wait staff and all were BUSY! I never saw a single one of them standing around doing nothing. They search your bags for food (annoying, but it’s the rules) and the pavement is hard to walk on for hours in bare feet… but I am old. 😆 It’s pricey, even without a cabana, so we we only go once a year and stay open to close. Overall we feel VERY fortunate to have a wonderful waterpark nearby!
Liz McHale — Google review
Expensive but worth it. Young children, teens and adults all had a great time. Food is expensive, they do offer alcohol as well in the new section that was just recently built. Plenty of places to sit down and eat, some shaded and others not. They offer cabanas as well, pricing is a bit steep considering it’s just a small private space with shade to keep your things.
Lifeguards seemed attentive everywhere we went. They were kind to the kids and informative of what their expectations were.
You can purchase entry tickets online which will supply you with a QR code allowing you to skip the ticket line. I highly recommend doing that as the ticket lines are long. Parking is awful as well, yet there at open or you’ll have to get creative on parking.
For a 5 person family, entry/food/drink we spent about $350. All in all, the kids had a great time as did my wife and I.

Great place to spend your free summer hours! We’ve been coming since it opened. All the additional parking and food and water activities are much needed to keep things thinned out. This place gets packed. This year we paid $179 for our season pass and $210 for our goal pass. When you have a season pass you can get it go pass and bring somebody with you every time you go saves money! This is located right off the freeway. Literally exit 44 Meridian Idaho. this year they seem to have a lot more lounge chairs in all a lot of the new areas and more food options. Another section with needed bathrooms. We are excited to spend all our free summer hours here 2023! We already have a stack of potato chips today potato chips on a stick and funnel cake so yum!!! You cannot bring any outside food or drink, except for maybe water and of course if you have an inventor baby that needs its bottle there’s also a gift shop on site that’s got some fun stuff swimsuits if you forgot your food, goggles, etc.

Our new favorite water park! 1st time going to this water park and it was fantastic! The wave pool was so fun, these are the biggest waves we have ever seen in a wave pool! They have 2 lazy rivers. The 1st one is just your normal lazy river which we loved it had a couple water falls which is always a plus. The second lazy river you used a paddle board and it also had a wave feature. It was really cool. We live in Utah but will be making the trip yearly to go to this water park.
The only thing we didn’t like was the nachos. They came out way to fast and looked and tasted like they had been sitting there for 15 mins.

This water park was a great idea to stop at. We were on a road trip and decided to stop and take our son. It was definitely pricey $40 for adults and kids 3 and older $35. I think the price is steep for children. There is a lot to do and they are in the middle of building a whole new area. We will definitely be back and wish there was one in Arizona so we could be part of the annual program. Just an FYI there were teenage thieves around but the park was on it and knew exactly who was stealing. Also all of the life guards although young took there jobs very seriously and were extremely professional. Our son is 3 and I felt completely safe knowing the guards were doing a fantastic job. So Thank you Roaring springs for a wonderful time.

Fun place to visit. The cabana was nice. We went on a Monday and thought it wouldn't be as busy but it was. Not all the slides were running so the lines were long
Planes & flying memorabilia from WWI to the jet era are on display at this aviation museum.
I visited for the Kilroy Coffee event and had the wonderful and fleeting opportunity to meet and listen to several WWII veterans share their stories. I also met with many other veterans that served our great nation. The museum is great to walk around and just immerse yourself in history...not to mention, the team at the Warhawks Museum records Veterans stories so that they are preserved. We saw a safe that had thousands of discs, each representing a veteran.

Just 20 min outside of boise. $14 entrance fee for adults. Worth it! We spent about 1.5 hours but could have spent more. A lot to read through. Many personal artifacts donated to make this place come to life. Local history. Planes to look at. Planes are functional and we learned they fly out every year in August. Many items in the gift shop. Restrooms in site. Wheelchair handicap accessible.

This museum has a large collection of military history from people who served from the state of Idaho. Their plane collection is small, but the aircraft on the display are well maintained and still flown. They have 1 of 3 still flying P51c variants in the world.
There are two P40 Warhawks that have a list of Hollywood credits to their name as they were featured in several movies.
The main part of the museum is stories, posters, and gear used in the military from WW1 to Vietnam. There are plans we were told to add a 3rd wing to the museum with 2 more aircraft and stories/history from Vietnam to today.
Paul or docent was very knowledgeable and great with the kids. As we walked to the different displays, he shared the stories of the people they featured, which was fascinating (for the adults that is). The kids were more interested in the large gift shop, of course, that had a great selection of shirts, aviation centric gifts, and toys.

A good American military museum preserves the tools of war but a great American military museum preserves the stories of the great Americans who used those tools to fight for freedom! This museum is definitely worth visiting if you are in the area. I recommend visiting on a day when you have plenty of time to spend here as the museum has a LOT of interesting exhibits that you will want to take your time looking at and reading about. The volunteers that work here are a wealth of information! Larry took me around and explained so many exhibits to me, as well as told me stories that I would otherwise never known about. The volunteers are happy to talk to you about all of it! We spent about 2-3 hours here and didn’t even make it a quarter of the way through the whole museum! There is a gift shop that you enter and exit through where you can purchase some souvenirs. Will make sure to visit again on a day when we can see the entire museum! Highly recommend visiting!

What a great collection of WWII memorabilia and aircraft! The museum is a must see if you are in the area. The air show was like being in a time machine. The old fighter planes, the folks in period dress and the knowledgeable announcers made the day complete. The addition of the F-35 Demo Team was pretty cool too. Highly recommended!

We absolutely loved Warhawk. The way they have the displays set up is awesome. Each display case has a binder that tells the life story of the veterans who donated the items. They have tons of reading material all around the museum, from training manuals to action reports to love stories. For the kids, they have a scavenger hunt throughout the museum. The staff was also very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. We spent 2 hours going through and could have spent the whole day. We will definitely be back. Thank you to everyone at the Warhawk Air Museum for putting together such an incredible collection of planes, vehicles, articles and artefacts.
The volunteer staff here were so generous with their time and offered up their personal connections with some of the exhibits here - it was truly an honour to listen to someone like Jim Dennis recount stories of his fathers time flying P-51’s over Mt Suribachi. As we move further away from the 1940’s it is more important than ever that we keep these veterans’ stories alive.
If you are in the area - make a stop to the Warhawk air museum you won’t regret it
When we moved from Colorado to Southwest Idaho, we wine tasted at as many wineries as possible over the period of several years. I’ve settled on two wineries as my favorites. They are within 4 miles of each other.
Koenig Vineyards Provides an excellent wine-tasting experience. They have a spacious patio. This allows you to bring a meal up to enjoy with your wine or your wine tasting. The Koenig location is surrounded by open country and vineyards. The view is outstanding and sometimes breathtaking.
The wine-tasting experience is impeccable. There is plenty of comfortable seating inside and outside. Reservations are needed for large parties. The very helpful and friendly staff (Carolyn, Katrina, Tami and others) can provide tasting and pairing recommendations, You get to choose from five different wines during the tasting. They have an excellent selection of carefully and artfully created (often) prize-winning white, red, and ice wines to try. For anyone that likes port they currently have a port wine available to taste. Their red blends, Cabernets, Syrahs, Malbecs, dry reislings and other wines have made me into a permanent wine club member.
For a great time wine tasting, I strongly recommend Koenig as a perfect location to relax, socialize and sample wine. Oh yes, you can order a tray of food to eat with your wine.

We had family visiting from our of state that enjoy wine so we wanted to bring them to a winery in idaho. A friend recommended us "the one with the tower." So we found Koenig. The tasting was a great price and all the wines were great! The staff was very knowledgeable too.
The location is gorgeous! The architecture is pleasant and the stone porch area in front of the entrance is beautifull and a wonderful place to have lunch if you bring one, as long as it isn't too cold and windy like it was when we went. The tower structure has a breathtaking view overlooking the vineyards. If you frame the camera just right it literally looks like a painting!
There's a nice lawn area on the right side of the building with more seating areas and tables and a cool, large chess board!
They have a spirits distillery too, which wasn't open at the time we went, not until a month from our visit.
Overall we had lovely experience, tasted great wine, bought some wine and spirits, and had good company.
We're so glad we chose Koenig.

This was recommended by a good friend that appreciates good wine. The interesting point - this is both a winery and a distillery. We went for the wine tasting but will be back to sample the distilled spirits. The wine, in general, was good and very good. We especially liked one white and one red. We bought a case of the red and a few bottles of the white. The venue is very tasteful, and a great spot for an afternoon brunch.

Went to Sawtooth Winery over the weekend to try their mimosa flight. I heard they change the flavors monthly & this month, or in March, was Orange Creamsicle, Limoncello, and Strawberry Cheesecake. These were amazing!! Presentation was beautiful as well! The Orange creamsicle was kind of hard to drink at first because of the whipped cream, but it definitely gave it the best flavor adding that onto it. The strawberry cheesecake mimosa tasted just like cheesecake and I loved the fresh strawberries added into this! We also ordered the Gourmet Cheese board with added cured meats & a Veggie board. Both boards were fancy in design and great to snack on while sipping on these mimosas and hanging out with friends. I loved the variety of veggies on the veggie board. Service was great. It was a fun spot to go check out and I’m hoping to make another trip there in April for April Mimosas.

1,090 wildlife-filled acres for camping, fishing & boating on a lake, with showers & toilets.
Amazing views. Wish we'd had a boat. Neighbors gave us a tour on the lake. Saw wild horses and numerous interesting geological formations.
PS The road in is very narrow along the cliff. Not for the faint of heart.

Great hosts, fishing, boating, eagle and hawk viewing, great weather.

This is a desert landscape, and as such, the park tends to have native plants that can withstand the dry, harsh environment of this Owyhee River Canyon landscape.
With the years of drought, it's taken its toll on what the park used to be. The landscape has changed, and what was once a shoreline of 8 - 10 feet are now hundreds.
The sadness in this is it will take years of great snow pack for it to be able to return to what it once was.
For now, nature is reclaiming what was once hers. The beauty is just different and still majestic if you like solitude and quiet.
As always, leave it better than you found it, and enjoy 😉.

I’ll start the with good. The lake itself is absolutely beautiful. Went on a 3 day fly fishing trip and it’s just miles upon miles of great fishing spots. Water is freezing, but it felt refreshing with how hot it was.
We camped at the state park campground and this is where the bad comes in. We did have hook ups so that part I’ll say was good, but the spot had goat heads EVERYWHERE and I am not exaggerating when I say the flies were EVERYWHERE. If we weren’t fishing all day then I would have left that spot right away. Also, Oregon still had their burn ban in place so we couldn’t have a fire. Didn’t see anything on the website about a burn ban so I was pretty disappointed. All in all, great place for fishing but not a great place for camping.

We took an autumn drive on Owyhee Lake Road through the State Park. Awesome drive with terrific scenery. We walked a few short hikes to enjoy the fall colors and the views around the lake. Looking forward to coming back in the spring.

This is a great place to catch crappie as long as the water is warm enough. Early in the season it looks pretty bleak but with the proper amount of rain in the watershed to the south it fills up. My wife and I have been fishing here for decades.

Drove over from Caldwell which was about a 1.5 hr drive. The drive through the canyon was beautiful with the landscape in continual transition from harsh high-plain desert to lush riverside parking. The road leads to some breathtaking views!

Absolutely beautiful! Not one sighting of any rattlesnakes! Serene, breathtaking, and definitely worth the time to get there! I can't wait to go back. The park was clean and the hosts were a delight!

The good: bathroom was clean, not smelly, and had hand sanitizer.
Bad: parking is a little bit of a walk from the water and there isn't water at the picnic tables.
The water is big enough for lots of boats. You can ski, tube, wake board or surf. Many people also fish. Crappie is super common to catch. We've caught over 50 in a day before.
I love this place, the paths are well kept, they have peacocks roaming the whole property, there is always something new to see that you did not see the last time you visited. It's peaceful and just a very positive place to bring the family. The buildings on site are beautifully built. You can tell a lot of love and thought has been put into the whole property.

Always a fun experience. We feed the peacocks, walk the grounds and always find something new or have our favorite curiosity. If you are wondering if it's worth the drive you can always bring a picnic lunch. There are tables. Or make a day of it and hit up Celebration Park as well.
There is a sign in guest book in the big yellow mailbox and they take donations to keep the place running

Took a trip here with some family. The people who own this place really put their heart and soul into it. Lots of sights to see along the nature trail. Very fun with the kids. Plus they got peacocks (and a couple albino/white ones) running around that you can feed with some kibble they sell on site using a quarter machine.
I love the Christian theme in some areas and the motivational signs along the trail. We will be coming back next time we visit Idaho!

Great one-of-a-kind place!
We first heard about it from friends and then I saw some favorable reviews. Made the pleasant drive on country roads from Meridian today and very happy we did!
So much to see... we liked the variety of buildings, birdhouses, sayings, sculptures, animals, benches, river views, etc., etc.
If I could only use one word to describe this magical place: Inspiring! When I asked my wife to do the same, she replied, "Whimsical!"
The day was sunny and cool which matched perfectly with the overall vibe of Cleo's creation.
Three deer strolled across a path and then circled around the buildings near the entrance. When we approached them to take a photo and video, they were not alarmed -- just sauntered away. The peacocks did much the same.
Don't expect your standard museum -- there is nothing standard about this place. Nevertheless, I highly recommend it for people of all ages! Next time, we want to bring our children and grandchildren.

I visited in the off season when the facility was closed but was allowed to park and walk around. Located right on the Snake River. Beautiful Peacocks live on the sight and are people friendly. Just be kind in return. Definitely will return in the Summer when facility is open.

This is one of those rare and unexpected pieces of beauty that finds it's way into your heart. Somewhere between flower power, the holy Trinity and fevered dream you'll find yourself smiling and also a little afraid.

Very interesting place!!! The peacocks are beautiful. Lovely grounds to walk around on. Interesting random decor everywhere. Very positive signs but it does get very God/Jesus oriented the further you walk back. Kid friendly and they have a dispenser you can feed the peacocks food! I think you could bring a wheel chair a lot is paved. You can make a donation or it's free.

This place is hard to describe. It is mystical strange and bizarre place that will fill your heart with joy. Its well worth the visit and make sure to plan on at least an hour here if now a 2-3 so you can really take in all the sights. There are so many hidden gems in this place.

Beautiful statues on the trial. It spreads to 2 different paths that you can choose which in to follow. One of them ins the mud valley (fairies, kids play, snake river, then back to the town) and the other takes you to the top for a beautiful view.
The best part is that it’s free with no wait!

Cleo's Garden is one of those hidden gems a short drive from Boise. Part nature walk, aviary, spiritual journey, and perfect location for a picnic with the family. Fascinating history paired with a reflection garden filled with folk art, all along the scenic Snake River.

There really aren't any words to describe this museum. I wouldn't exactly call it a museum but more of an enchanted holy garden in the middle of a desert. It is something you have to see at least once in your life. There is a lot of walking involved and it's out in the open, so if you are sensitive to the sun, plan to go when it is not so hot out. I think everyone can find something inspiring here. There is also an interesting story behind the family that started putting this "museum" together, but unfortunately, there has been no upkeep on it in the last few years. Still worth seeing.
Exhibits on North Central Nevada history in a modern brick building & several historical buildings.
We toured the entire museum. So informative and lots of history. The worker was so pleasant to talk with. They rely strictly on donations, so be generous.

This museum is a real hidden treasure, and worth the time to visit. Concentrating on Humboldt County and Winnemucca history, it is a snapshot of the old west, and the tough people who settled it. You will find such diverse things as prehistoric fossils, local Basque culture (one of my favorites), Native American History, and antique autos and farm equipment. There is also an original small chapel that has been moved to the site, and a replica mercantile store and home from the past, with many interesting items from the past. There is also a section on a historic Chinatown that is no longer a part of Winnemucca. It is all tidy, organized, and we'll run. And at least on the day I was there, it was free. I gladly gave a donation for them to continue running sush a great museum.

Great experience all around. The receptionist is very kind and the exhibits are interesting. Exhibits, automotive history and native American history dominate most of the space. I highly recommend checking out the three buildings in the back that have been relocated to the museum. The old house is filled with appropriate era furniture and daily household items.

We just visited there today 4/10/32 for the 1st time. I absolutely think people should go visit this place. They for sure need donations to help restore it. If the opportunity comes to you, do spend some time here. It's endlessly fascinating to see how many design elements are in place. Creating this place was an act of inspired madness. Sadly, time has been unkind, but there is hope for restoration

The intricacies of the structure merited the fence around it. There is so much minutiae that it's like an intricate wedding cake, but made of stone, mortar, and an astounding number of found objects, of which more are discovered with each look and step!

This is an odd attraction in Imlay, NV. It's made of many different items, and is pretty unique. I've been driving by it for decades, and I finally decided to stop and check it out. It was interesting. It only takes a few minutes to see. It's one of those oddities, out in the middle of the Nevada desert. Pretty cool.

The Thunder Mountain Monument is located between Lovelock and Winnemuca, NV right next to Hwy 80. It is easily accessible and has some unique custom made and hand built structures. It is a cool.soght to see and a great place to pit stop when crossing Northern NV.

Very interesting place. So glad they share with the public. They have a donation box that only asks for 2.00, but we left 5.00. Totally worth the self guided tour. Worth checking out if your out that way :)
c silva — Google review
At first, all I saw was a run-down structure built by an eccentric. Then, I read about the monument and how it was built from "white man's trash" found in the area and represented the plight of the native American people. Then, I saw a lot more in the monument and found it moving.
Unfortunately, you cannot enter any of the structures for safety reasons.
There is no direct fee but they ask for $2 donation from each group.
It is right off the freeway, but you do drive about a quarter of a mile on gravel. There is room for RV's or trailers to park in a dirt lot.

I remember being on a trip from California and our car broke down, and this is where it broke down, and honestly it was very peaceful; but it’s located next to a school, and it’s quite the site when you see all the locks that couples and lovers alike have left, very unique! I defiantly recommend it as a location to take your significant other on a little picnic date, or just to enjoy the sights and reverence. Since this place is located like, in the middle of nowhere, it had a stillness that you can’t quite find at other more populated places. I’ll always be glad that my car broke down at this park, because we had a good time relaxing and making fun memories until we got our situation handled. Such a gem of a park to stumble upon, and I’m glad I was fortunate enough to have:)

It was beautiful and fresh. My boyfriend and I drove from Reno to put a love lock on the love chains. Went to the hardware store and bought a lock and the store lent us a little grinder to engrave our love lock. Such an awesome experience. We put our gray lock with the pink one that had the same names as us super special.

After arriving into the casino and finding a machine that I wanted to play, I was looking around the casino for a waiter walking the floor, but could not find one. There was a male employee with a black binder book writing down the casino's money from nearby machines where I was sitting. I asked this employee if there were any cocktail waiters walking the floor taking drink orders and he replies "They are coming around every half hour" and walks away going to other slot machines writing down balances off from the machines. After a good many minutes passed I walked over near the cashier cage and asked the cashier if she could get me a waiter cause I wanted a drink. The cashier gets on the phone and calls the bar and within a few minutes a waiter had come by my machine and took my order and returned just a few minutes later with a drink for me. This man who was walking the casino floor with his binder had no regards for me as a customer of this casino and could have cared less about me! He should realize that myself and other patrons gambling on the casino floor are paying his wages as customers, and without us patrons in the casino, this man would have NO job! I'm giving two stars for this review, with one star for the wonderful cashier who immediately called the bar for a waiter, and the other star for the wonderful gentlemen who brought me a drink in a quick and efficient manner. Unbelievable how some people working in the hospitality industry take their job for granted and take little concern or regards for the customers who are responsible for them to have a job in the first place.

But when I heard the things being said I just didn't know what to do. Point is the staff were outstanding and where I might have lost my job because I maybe would have lost it they held out together and I appreciated that because his views are not my own.

The machines don't clearly mark the proce per spin. They give you $20 to start playing, and if you don't use it wisely or know what you're doing you'll be done playing in 10 minutes. Made it into $98 and tried a different machine; walked out with $0.23. Be very careful.

Bar staff are "on their game" - I've always get great service from them.
I also recommend checking out their "bar food" menu. You can eat at the bar while playing machines, or in the adjacent lounge if you don't want to gamble. This menu is scaled-down, priced right & tasty. I believe it's the best burger in town, but if you have kids, you'll have to eat in the coffee shop, where prices are higher.

Very very spendy food had no flavor and over cooked. 16.00 for meatloaf and 8.00 for a small bowl of soup. Crazy times. The Depot has better food and prices. Would not recommend. Wait staff was very grumpy and dressed unprofessional. Stockmans has really gone down hill from what they used to be. The menu is becoming less and less not alot of choice. Its sad to see.

I like Stockman's as it has lamb and Prime Rib on the menu (it is surprising that not every steak place has these selections). I like either the crab cakes or the toasted raviolis as an appetizer. I always have the French Onion soup with my meal. The food is decent for the price and this is not a place that requires its patrons to dress so jeans and a t-shirt are acceptable here.

Wonderful place to visit. So much to see. A lot of it is not immediately obvious, so keep your eyes open. Every time you think you've seen the last petroglyph, another rock displays more. The exploration is a reward all by itself. Finding different petroglyphs is frosting on the cake. The main trail is easy to follow and well-maintained, so is wheelchair accessible, although the viewing from there is limited. The sunlight is intense at this site and there is no shade, so sunscreen and water are a good idea for any lengthy stay.

Well, when you are traveling across the "Loneliest Road in America" it is a nice little stop. A few of the petroglyphs are great but after being at Newspaper rock, Dinosaur National Monument, Petroglyph Nat Monument and many more. They are not the most impressive but still worth checking out. The Caves on the other hand are Not great, don't bother go to Mesa Verde or Bandolier. The only good cave is closed off except 2 times a month.

Great spot! Petroglyphs are found all over, so it's fun to explore and see how many you can find. Note - there are three different hikes you can do: 1) the petroglyph loop, which is super short 2) the longer trek to the vista point, which also some cool petroglyphs along the way and 3) the hidden cave trail - however, that trailhead is futher down a dirt road, whereas the first two can be started from the main parking lot.

If History is your Intention of learning about the Great Fort Churchill Historical State Park, there are many monuments that are engraved in worn concrete,a cemetery with the local soldier's plots, these old Fort buildings from 1861. It's a ground of Authentic buildings still standing, with Cannons behind a rod iron fence, the Museum was open for extra information on Fort Churchill.
A State Park with old railroad tracks, Campgrounds and near the Carson River, most roads are closed from Flash Floods, ground is still moist and ground is breaking up like a puzzle with different figurations. It's a place to take pictures with cloud formations for a composition of the ornate creation of complex patterns of History. It reminded me of Stonehenge.

There are a dozen or so of the original adobe structures to see, but no complete ones and all have been reinforced (except the remains of the bakery) to protect what remains of the underlying adobe. Many of the structures have nice explanatory displays. The structures are spread out so you'll get around a mile of walking in. The fort is situated in a desolate, but pretty valley. The museum was closed when I visited, but it had displays with notes designed for through-window viewing. There are two original cannons on display as well as a few old wagon wheels. The cemetery contains the grave of a rancher and his family, but no Soldiers. I wouldn't invest a lot of effort coming to the park unless you incorporate it with seeing other nearby places. For me, these include Virginia City, the Nevada State Railroad Museum, Genoa and old Dayton.

Nice fort ruins very close to 95A. Great location close to Buckland Station and Lahontan Lake.Train tracks and Carson River as well. Easy to understand why fort was placed there.

Great, historical place. Amazing views and history. It's a small place, but it's big history wise. It's worth going and seeing it.

Excellent experience and nice little museum. Alot of history at this location. Clean restrooms for weary travelers. Very nice picnic location, it's well worth the 3/4 mile side road to access the site.

Hauntingly scenic, partially decayed adobe buildings on an alluvial fan, with a reconstructed
interpretative center, and campgrounds in a riverbottom cottonwood grove.
Great desert photography

This a a wonderful historical place to visit! The museum is excellent and told the story of the fort very well. The remains of the buildings have been maintained and the trail around the fort is very informative with many signs. I particularly liked the bakery. Close by is the Carson River with a picnic area and a campground. Bring a picnic when you visit!

There was some flooding the Spring from all of the epic precipitation this year.. That has resulted in some key trails. Being closed to the public for the time being. That said the ruins are fascinating and I appreciate the access to shoot photos at night from this historic location. In the Spring, the bugs are absolutely ravenous and high. And number bring a mosquito netting for your head and face. The only open restrooms were in the camping area., Though it is possible, the park office may have restrooms during their open hours.

This is a nice little state park with some interesting history. Visitors Center could use some updating, but this is a nice stop if you're traveling east of Reno. NB: More focus should be given on the indigenous experiences though, especially since this fort was created as a result of colonial encroachment on their lands.

Beautiful well done Nevada and American history. Worth seeing, take your time to walk the loop and read the signs. Easy path, about a mile if you start at the little museum. Dog friendly, just keep them on a leash and pick up after them if they leave a surprise.

It's peaceful, quiet and surreal. To see the ruins is a great family experience. Easy access wheel chair, and handicap friendly campground. Walk the trail (not so wheelchair friendly) around the ruins. There is picnic, camp, day use areas.
