OMG. Rainbow River, even in late November, can’t be topped for swimming, tubing, kayaking, diving, canoeing and even fishing. The beauty is astounding - old Florida at its very best (check out my (if I do say so myself) A-ma-zing pictures! This River is spring-fed which means it is crystal clear. Like many of these type rivers in Florida, there are multiple springs that provide millions of gallons of pristine water each year. Divers come from near and far due to some of the boils being large enough to enter, the largest being the ‘K-hole’. The public park across from the K-hole is very nice. Modern and well, equipped, parking and restrooms are free and the grounds are very well-kept
Bottom line? If you want to swoon over the Zen beauty of nature DO NOT WAIT! Head over to Rainbow River in Dunnellon, FL.

Hard to beat the beauty of the Rainbow River with its crystal clear water and beautiful scenery. We launched kayaks at KP Hole and kayaked to the state park and back. It was a beautiful experience! We went down a tributary and enjoyed a very scenic and private time. Highly recommend kayaking the Rainbow River, you will be glad you did!!!

Magnificence! Beautiful scenery, water, wildlife all over! A great place to swim, kayak, explore or just sit beside and relax! The water was warm and crystal clear, and we all had an amazing day on the river!

📍Perfect spot for swimming
Rainbow river is a beautiful spot to go and spend the day with your family. There is an area designated for swimming, perfect for kids and adults. There is a kayak rental and you go around the river.
There is also a space for picnics and a small food stand.

Rainbow River in December was incredible! The park is clean and the park rangers are very knowledgeable. You can walk trails go swimming. You can rent kayaks and enjoy a paddle on a crystal clear river. Lots of walking will take you to some breath taking locations. Really had a fun and enjoyable time and will definitely be returning! A special thank you to everyone who keeps this landmark going.
Now parking is a little difficult to locate so I’ll save you the trouble.

Beautiful crystal clear river to kayak. You can launch from kp hole for $7 and go left up to the headsprings where it's stunningly beautiful. If you're feeling frisky, you can launch for free from blue run in Dunnellon and paddle upstream about 5 miles. It gets packed on weekends as the morning progresses, and people tend to clog up the ramp by standing around and or swimming.
Have seen a few alligators on the banks of the river, but only one ever actually in the water swimming.

We did drift diving for the PADI open water certification and saw plenty of animals. We saw turtles (soft shell and painted), fish (bass, etc), otters, and tons of birds. The water was clear and it was a really calm dive, perfect for us newbies.

It's a very beautiful place. There's tons of free parking available and the entrance only costs $1 per person during the summer. We went kayaking on the river. The water was crystal clear and very refreshing. On the trip we saw lots of fish, birds and turtles.
There's also a little designated area to swim but you aren't able to stand there in the water because it's so deep.
Definitely recommend bringing a noodle if you just want to swim in this pool! You also swim in the river while on your kayaking trip which was so refreshing 😊

Kayaking on the Rainbow River. One of the most beautiful places in Florida. Stunningly pretty and incredible colors everywhere you look. Crystal clear turquoise water.
A 5 mile long spring river.
Tracey Oliver — Google review
We went kayaking on the Rainbow River today. It was beautiful. We started at K.P. Hole and paddled upstream. The current is very weak so it doesn't take much effort. The nature was very beautiful. The river is crystal clear. Definitely worth a trip on the river. From the entrance to the spring it takes about an hour. We were made aware of this great place by a local. Worth it!

Great drift dive! Excellent spot for bouancy and trim work. Lots of fish and turtle to include gar. Cool cavern to kick into as well.

Beautiful place to spend the day. River is large, deep, and has quite the current. Great for whatever you’re into; scuba diving, snorkeling, paddling, tubing, or just swimming. Lots of wildlife and gorgeous views to take in. Many spots to stop for a break including the state park, KP hole, and swampys. Clear water, but it does get murky by the afternoon due to all the motor boats on the water so get in early if you’re going underwater.
Located in central Florida, Rainbow Springs State Park offers a natural spring and lush forest. The park is well-known for its gentle rivers and year-round 72 degrees temperature.kayaks, tubing, fishing, swimming, hiking and bird watching are some of the activities available at the park.
It was my first time visiting and this place was seriously so beautiful. Some of the most incredible water I’ve ever gotten to swim in my life. I definitely recommend bringing a snorkel mask and a pool noodle when coming to swim here. I also recommend going early on a weekday to avoid busier times, we got there at 10:30 on a Thursday and didn’t have any issues getting in. I was worried about gators before coming swimming here, but after getting in I didn’t see any and felt very comfortable and safe swimming there. I’m already so excited to come back here again some time. Seriously check it out if you’re considering going! The springs are breathtaking and so refreshing to swim in.

Entrance fee is $2 per person collected at a gate house near the spring headwaters about .25 miles from the parking lot. There are some short trails, a swimming area, restroom/changing rooms, pavilions and grilling areas and a lawn area for sunbathing. The visitor center and snack bar were closed on the day of our visit, Tuesday in February.
There is a watercraft launch and rental area located just past the swimming area which we used to launch our paddle boards. You will need to carry your watercraft from the parking lot to that area.
The water is crystal clear, deep and 72 degrees year round. Paddling was great, next to no obstacles with light currents. I have had more scenic experiences, much of the river is occupied by residential areas on one side. Wildlife is abundant, turtles, fish and birds are everywhere. As in any water source in Florida there are alligators but we did not observe any during out 3 hours on the water. Best of all were the small coves along the river which provided opportunities to pull over and cool off with a swim.
There is a campground located 7 miles by road from the spring that has its own watercraft launch.
Overall the park was a great experience although I’m sure it would be difficult to have that same option had we gone on a weekend, the park closes the gate at capacity, or had we not taken the watercraft out to explore the river away from the swimming area.
Eric Pritchard — Google review
The nature is reach and beautiful
We love it here because it was easy to find a shaded spot for a picnic under the trees and it’s very clean. Pets are allowed and there is lots of picnic table under the pavilions
You can then jump in the deep water by the ramp. If you have small children with you bring a noodle, I’d like one for me too, the water is deep & the spring pool wide
We rented a kayak for one hours and was enough
There is a beautiful cafe over the spring and a gorgeous trail where you can take a walk trough what was a zoo in the ‘60st … along the trail there is small waterfall
I think you’ll have to walk 3 miles to reach the bigger one
Not tubes allowed

My husband and I went paddle boarding at rainbow springs and we loved it! Beautiful river! We didn’t get to see much wildlife but it was still worth seeing the crystal clear water.
Monica Lewellen — Google review
This place is AMAZING. Beautiful. Spectacular. We rented a kayak and got dropped off up stream from there we paddled to the state park and jumped in the water and paddled downstream to the rental place/blue gator. Paddling up to the state park took about 30ish minutes paddling downstream took about 2 hours so be prepared, being lots of sunscreen and go early in the morning!!!! The wind is not fun to paddle against. If we were to do it again we would’ve gone out at 9am instead of 1pm!!! But overall Excellent Experience!! 12/10
Kim Viertel — Google review
Beautiful state park with a botanical garden with walking paths, canoe/kayak area, restrooms with changing rooms and a swimming area. The parking lot is only a 5-10min walk away. You can tell this is a touristy destination by their gift shop, food stand & how they set up the park. The swimming area is smaller than expected, but still an amazing experience. I saw a sea turtle while swimming!
They do charge a $2 admission.
The campground is nice, clean and spacious. Check in was easy & staff was friendly. You can see the stars above in the night. The area is quiet & great for families.
Sarah Mae — Google review
Wow wow wow! The experience you get here is truly unforgettable. Such a beautiful spring. Crystal clear water and cool. With a swimming area and also kayak and canoe rentals. Restrooms are on site. Lots of areas to setup a nice picnic. The views were beautiful here. It does get busy on the weekends. So it's best to arrive right before they open. For only $2 per person to get in. It's the best experience you can have for that price. Btw you are allowed to snorkel in the swimming area.
Michael Jimenez — Google review
The place is magical. Great for spending the weekend. The only downside was that the actual swimming area and the rental area were closed due to a storm. The trails were amazing! As for the food sold at the cafeteria, the cheeseburger was a 10/10.
Laura GM — Google review
Beautiful, crystal clear water and scenic views. Absolutely loved tubing down this river. Saturdays are heavy with boat traffic but Sundays are pretty quiet on the river. You can bring your own tunes but the entry price is the same!
Rachel King — Google review
Fantastic place for a paddle. Water is crystal clear. Go to KP Hole for easy access to the river. You can drive, and drop off your kayak or paddle board, almost all the way to the water. Once your on the river go left (it’s much more scenic that direction). If you paddle to the end there is a nice swimming area.
Brian W. — Google review
The water was 72 degrees. It was beautiful, blue and cold. It's at least 7 plus feet deep. The waterfalls around the nature trails were pretty. They do need additional tables, chairs and BBQ grills. If you want to grill, make sure you get there early to get a grill. It has a nice open field for picnics and play time. You can bring your dogs to this park. They do have a cafe on site or you can bring your own food. You can use a kayak to view the wonderful and beautiful nature God created. I've lived in Florida all my life, and I didn't know this place was here. I really enjoyed the trails and cold water. You only have to pay $2.00 to get in, and make sure you keep your receipt for re entry (just in case you need to go back to your car or to get something to eat). It is a must see if you love the great outdoors! Enjoy!

You can find all your answers here before coming here. This place is so amazing to see one of the natural springs in Florida. Firstly, it's open all day, basically from sunrise to sunset, which sounds great! It's a perfectly clean environment with amazing natural sounds. Summertime is always packed, so I was able to visit in October, which made me feel like I was the only person in the state park. The weather here is a bit colder than in South Florida. The swimming pool area is a bit small, so it could be a problem during the summer for accommodating everyone. There's not enough flat space to sit on the ground for a picnic, but they do have a pavilion and a cafe. The restroom is close to the pool area. If you like, you can also do canoeing 🛶 or kayaking. Last but not least, it's $2 per person.
Here's all you need:
⭐️ Bring a noodle; the water is a bit deep, but you can feel secure.
⭐️ Tubes are not allowed 🚫.
⭐️If you have a cart, keep in mind that parking and the pool area are about a 5-minute walk away.
⭐️Bring your snorkel 🤿 or goggles 👓.
⭐️I highly recommend bringing a wetsuit if you have one; the water is around 72 degrees all year.
⭐️Be ready to take amazing pictures!

It's like your own peaceful island! I spring hop often and this is by far the best I've been to! Not just for the waterfalls or the amazing springs but they also had restrooms, a gift shop and a snack bar!! It is clean and well kept also! I went during a weekday and got there as soon as they opened so it was quiet for the first few hours before it got busy! It was still serene tho!
Amanda Evans — Google review
One of the most beautiful places ever. The water are crystal clear and have the most beautiful colors. They have a huge lawn where you can just chill, and a bbq area where they also have tables and benches. They also have a small shop at the entrance for snacks and drinks. You can rent a kayak or puddle board for around 17$-27$ per hour (or around 50$ for the entire day). Another huge benefit to this spring is that they have beautiful trails where you can walk about and explore the nature around. GO THERE! Tubes are not allowed. You can bring your own kayak or puddle board as well (don’t know if they charge you an extra fee for that).
Gal Reinharts — Google review
Very beautiful 😍 I did not expect the water to be so blue!! It was so pretty I had an amazing time. The water was crystal clear, and you could swim down and touch the springs. I highly recommend bringing a pair of goggles and, if you have some, snorkels. I went paddle boarding and saw fish, birds, and turtles. This was an exciting and superb experience. I would definitely go again but there are other springs I would like to see as well.
Ava's Artistry — Google review
Beautiful place to visit, the water is Crystal clear due to the springs.
Lots of amazing wildlife in the water and on land.
You swim in the sectioned area, rent a kayak and paddle down stream or take a relaxing walk through the gardens.
Definitely worth a visit

This place is beautiful. Manybtrails to walk and enjoy nature. The spring water is crystal clear and at a constant temperature of 72°F.
It is also a good place to rent or bring your own kayak.
Their gift store is also a good place to stop by and the food it good. Would definitely visit again. Next time, I will do their tubing down the river.
Eric Ortiz — Google review
Went to this Spring to do some paddelbaording and it did not disappoint. Beautiful clear water. Could see fish and turtles swimming under the water. There are areas of deep and shallow water. Couple of different areas to launch your kayak, SUP, or canoe. Has a swimming area marked off and has a little dock and a ladder where you can swim. There is a small gift shop and a cafe where you can get drinks and snacks. A nice outdoor seating area with tables. There are several trails. There is a trail that leads to a pretty waterfall.
kelly pender — Google review
Wow how beautiful this place was. I am definitely going swimming next time. You do have to be aware of gators around I would personally not tube but the view and the water was stunning. I look forward to coming back and experiencing more of this place. They had a cafe with drinks and food as well.
Amy Jones-Broker — Google review
The best part about traveling to any spring in the state of Florida . Is getting there . And the back way is the most scenic
Rainbow Springs is definitely at the top of the list for Springs. A little physical for somebody who is struggling with strength. There's waterfalls throughout the property, but it's a very hilly terrain. Handicap accessible to see the falls and around the spring. But not handicap to get into the water. I was very disappointed and exhausted after driving 3 hours to go there. I wasn't able to get into the water. I used the Springs as part of my therapy after having a broken back. I spoke to the Rangers about having a handicap accessible ramp that goes down into the water. Some of the Springs have the handicap chair. There is more than one handicap person going to the park. The park is beautifully maintained. The spring is absolutely breathtaking, always a 72° all year round. It's a $2 fee to get in and definitely worth it. There are several springs in the surrounding area. You can ask for a spring map and also a state park map for Florida. There are over 176 state parks, not including National in the State of Florida alone. And at least 75 Natural Springs in the state of Florida. Each one being more beautiful than another.
I hope you enjoy my recommendation. Safe travel🏞

Very fun. Kids had a blast swimming. It was early January and only 65 degrees but the kids were more than happy to spend a few hours in the swimming area. Walking around park was very nice, lots of beautiful scenery, waterfalls and streams. Nature trails were also fun but didn’t get a chance to explore them all. Will definitely be returning next time we are here for vacation.
To be clear, not sure if diving or jumping is allowed but it was 6-7’ deep and kids never got yelled at so🤷♂️

Lovely park. Beautiful views of the water and the waterfalls. Nicely paved paths for walking. Everything is wheelchair accessible. Clean bathrooms, friendly and knowledgeable staff, plus a nice gift shop.
Theresa Connors — Google review
I went to see the waterfalls. They were really nice. Worth the drive from Jax. The parking was sketchy. The entrance fee is $2 a person. Come early because they closed at 1pm Saturday because they were full to capacity.
Teri Taylor — Google review
Beautiful place! Very well maintained, friendly staff. $2 entry fee per person. Not a lot of parking so, come early. A gift shop and a small cafe are available but, not always open so bring whatever you might need, just in case. If bringing small children, please bring some type of USCG-approved flotation device for them as the water is too deep for even adults to stand. There's no beach access, just steps and pier access. You are not allowed to hang out on the steps either so again, it's recommended to bring flotation devices for younger kids and non swimmers. Waterfalls, trails, covered picnic areas and open grassy areas for picnics and sitting are all some great features.
Rebekah Dalrymple — Google review
We took a motorcycle ride and visited here to take in the scenery. The park was beautiful. It has a crystal clear spring area for swimming. It also had very pretty waterfall's for viewing. They had a gift shop, and a snack bar. There were also indoor restrooms. There is walking involved up, and down hill. It appeared that a motorized handicapped seated scooter could be used if needed. There was a $2.00 entry fee per person.
Rodney LeMond Sr — Google review
This is the heads springs for the Rainbow River the water is crystal clear. There is a roped off area for swimming. During the week it is not too crowded, a bit more peaceful and quiet. During the winter months, even quieter. A few waterfalls along a paved walkway and some fish ponds. Picnic tables, benches to relax on, public restrooms. The staff was very friendly. The nature trails are sand and very wooded but easy to navigate. Parking can be a problem During the summer months, have to get there early. You can rent kayaks there also, I didn't, so can't comment on that. Just a beautiful state park worth every bit of the $2 entrance fee.
3Delta7 — Google review
I've been here a couple times now and enjoyed each visit. Haven't been to many Florida state parks yet but this is one of my favorites. The kayaking is good and the gardens, flowers and waterfalls are beautiful. Worth a visit if you are near Ocala or looking to detour off I-75.
Definitely a recommendable Florida adventure. Fun experience. Peaceful at times. You don’t get wet, wear comfortable clothes. Very windy. Staff is very friendly. We got to see turtles, a few gators and different types of birds. There’s a Subway across the street if you need to grab a quick bite or snacks.

We had a wonderful time on the airboat. Our guide was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. We highly recommend Tom and Jerry's. It is an affordable place that is family friendly. We went for the first ride and were not disappointed. If you can get in at 10 am do it! You will see a lot of wildlife including alligators. The later you go the hotter it will be. Although if you can't get in early, later is better than never.
Deana Masnik — Google review
This is definitely a great family activity. Right now they're doing a 25% discount which is even better. They also do military but with the 25% discount it is a much better deal. As a family of all ages we definitely had a great time. It was informative and educational but most of the time you could just enjoy all the wildlife. The tour guide is definitely want you to have a good time. At the end they bring out a baby alligator that you get to take a picture with which was definitely unique. You would never think that this beautiful landscape would be here, it is definitely a hidden gem. I think this is something you need to do once in your life.
Laura Horowitz — Google review
I like the vibe here.
Some ppl may say it is a little bit creepy, but I would rather say this place is a hidden gem, not too much commercialized.
When I went there, there was not that many ppl so we felt safer from COVID. Also, captain knew a lot about the history and alligators.
But what I am pretty sure that what reader really wants to know is "are there a lot of alligators?".
When I went there, I saw like 6-8 alligators including the baby alligator too.
I will visit this place without hesitation next time.
Don't forget the tips to the captain! It is what he is working for!
Rick C — Google review
We had a blast.. Our tour guide was great. He knew a lot about the water and the animals and theit was really nice getting to see all the different species of birds and we've seen quite a. Few alligators while we were out there too.
Amanda Traficante — Google review
This Airboat ride was quite fun and worth the every penny we spent there. Saw couple of gators and heard a gator roar for the first time ever. Saw wild vultures in 100s and many turtles and birds. The cherry on the cake moment was to hold a baby gator in hand which I couldn’t do coz it was super scary but I would come here again and hold it soon. My aunt did hold the gator which was as one of an experience in her lifetime. The captain was very informative and the ride was amazing in the month of Feb where it wasn’t too hot or too cold. I’m bringing my family here again for this ride for sure. Look at the view with clear sky.
Prerna Jain — Google review
This is a must do for everyone! We saw gators and turtles and birds galore! Air boat was so much fun. The tour guide even stopped a couple times to give us a history lesson. We will definitely be looking up more tours like this, we really enjoyed. Everyone seemed to. Good times all around!
Amy Chad — Google review
We were on family vacation and did this activity which we enjoyed very much. It was a hot day so we didn’t see many gators 🐊 but the experience was cool. We even got to hold a baby gator at the end of the activity. I will definitely return!

While visiting friends we went on Tom and Jerry’s Airboat Rides. It was beyond our expectations!! Captain Brent knew every inch of Lake Panasoffkee. He took us on a true Wildlife Adventure. He was informative with a touch oh humor thrown in. We saw lots of birds, the vultures were amazing. And several alligators. Captain Brent got in close enough so that every passenger could see a gator. We said we would definitely do it again.
Charlene Banet — Google review
We had a blast! Going slow and looking for alligators, birds, turtles, and other critters...then zooming fast on the open water ways.
Got to hold a live baby alligator at the end of the boat ride... thank you Gator Girl! 🐊
Jan VanMeter — Google review
This was not something I was expecting to do down in Florida but I highly recommend it! It was such a fun experience getting to ride an airboat and learning about Lake Panasoffkee. There weren't many gators out due to the weather but we still got to see some and got a fun history and wildlife lesson out of it. You also get to hold one of the baby gators at the end of the trip! The love that they have for this place is apparent, definitely worth the money.
Brandon Wong — Google review
This was a very fun and informative adventure. The boat captain/tour guide was very knowledgeable and fun. He took us to some hidden gems to show us some nature that mist people wouldn't see. This was very fun and good for all ages.

Good ride and very entertaining. Our captain (keith, if not worng) was very friendly and kept everyone engaged during the tour. Spotted gators and other wildlife. The boat was comfortable . At the end of the tour, the lady at the office gave us a baby gator to hold and took pictures.

Our family had a great time. The captain was funny and knowledgeable. He found lots of gators, buzzards, turtles on sticks 😂, and other random birds to see. They had a baby gators that we were able to hold and get pictures with at the end. Would definitely recommend!!

We took the kids and grandkids. It was wonderful! Our guide Keith gave a lot of info and it was nice to see all the alligators and birds and turtles. Would have loved to have stayed out a bit longer and also stay still and just enjoy the quiet of the river.

Capt. Keith Martin made this the best experience I’ve had on an airboat in Florida. Not only did we see plenty of gators up close, we saw tons of native wildlife and some very scenic views. It looked just like “Where The Crawdads Sing.” I highly recommend this tour!

LOVE LOVE LOVED our swamp tour!! We took two kids and they were very accommodating and friendly. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made it fun! We saw LOTS of gators and other wildlife. We were so excited to hold the alligator!! Josephine was SO sweet and the staff did a great job with her and helping us. We also shopped in their gift store 3 times (we stayed at Idlewild)! I love how they had ice cream treats and a few inexpensive items. Thanks swamp fever!

The Swamp Adventure Tour was awesome! We had parents who were apprehensive about them going. I'm so glad they went. It was safe, and the captain was professional, funny and informative. We were able to touch and hold the alligator as a part of the package. The place also had cabins. We didn't stay there but everything was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. We have about 15 people in our 6 mixture of kids and adults.

We made reservations in advance. The staff was ready for us when we arrived. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. The ride was great. The kids loved it. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. We saw lots of gators, birds and turtles. The views were breathtaking and so beautiful. I would highly recommend this tour.

We came to Florida to visit with family and we decided to take this tour. We had a blast! We saw a few alligators but even if we didn't, the tour itself as well and all the fast turns was worth it! Then we were surprised at the end and got to hold Luke the baby alligator! The staff was so knowledgeable and very friendly. Highly recommend Swamp fever airboat adventures! We will definitely be taking another tour when we come back to visit.

Captain Steve and the ladies were knowledgeable, and like their jobs. Steve explained pretty much every plant and animal as the tour went on. He also is prideful of the eagles, as well as the rest of the birds in the area. We saw quite a few gators, from a foot long to eight footers. Great for all ages.

Absolutely AMAZING!!!! We started off checking in at the office and the staff was truly lovely. We then went to the pavillion where Steve brought out and alligator named Josephine and told us all about her. We then joined Captain Kyle for a 1 hour ride through the lake and saw a ton of gators, birds, turtles, and fish. Captain Kyle made multiple stops and told us all about the wild life in the area and answered a ton of our questions. He was so very fun, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. The ride itself was SO much fun, zipping through the lake! I cannot wait to go again!!! Highly highly recommended!!

Great tour this morning! Our guide, Kyle, was terrific. Saw loads of baby gators and mama gator. My husband got to hold a 35lb gator at the end of the tour. So much fun! Highly recommend it. Side note, It was only 70 out this morning and I am grateful I brought a jacket because once the boat was moving fast it was a little chilly!

Awesome experience on our airboat tour. Loved getting to hold a real alligator and the boat tour was exceptional. We saw lots of alligators and turtles. The driver was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed the education on local wildlife and trees. It was a great time overall!

Our group had a blast. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable.
Captain Sam gave us an amazing tour with some background on gators and the area. Our tour ended with Wyatt an 8 yr old gator whom we all took turns holding. He is a sweet gator. Jess and Heather were great handlers and gave us some a world of info on Wyatt. Heather sorry in Advance for adding the little frog in pictures!!!
Highly recommend choosing Swamp Fever for your Air Boat Adventure. (Back story- my father held same gator 7 yrs ago) we had no idea. (My dad passed 5 yrs ago) so was even more special!!! Thanks again for a memorable day!!!

This boat trip was awesome!! My family and I enjoyed it so much. The staff was so friendly and informative. We did see some baby alligators and a mama and some birds, a ton of turtles and fish. We wish the ride was longer but it was totally worth it, every minute. Holding Josephine in the end was a great highlight for the kids too!

My dad has always wanted to go on an airboat ride so my husband and I were excited to join him. All of us enjoyed our adventure! The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. We got to meet a baby alligator and Dad got to hold Luke. The boat ride was a lot of fun. It’s obvious that the captain really enjoys his job. Highly recommend!

My family absolutely loved this Airboat Ride. The gentleman that gave us the tour was super friendly, courteous and kind. He answered any questions we had made this experience very fun and entertaining. We will definitely visit again, when we're back in Florida.

Had a great trip with Swamp Fever. Drove out from Tampa and it was well worth the effort to see another side of Florida. Beautiful location, educational and entertaining. Would highly recommend the adventure if you are looking for something a little different to do with your family.

I am no airboat expert, but I have done 3 prior with other companies - and this place was hands down the best. Captain Steve was funny, informative, patient (he made sure we all saw what he spotted) and had an eye for finding alligators. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and when we visit again, will make sure we ask for Captain Steve! Thank you again for a memorable trip.

We were headed to Disney and saw the sign for Airboat tours. I googled the name and loved the detailed website so I booked my family (5 yo, 3 yo, 7 month old) a trip for our ride home. A bucket list check off for my boy to ride an air boat! It was an amazing trip. Life jackets and ear protection were provided. We saw birds, fish, and all size alligators. Our captain was very informative and accommodating to our kids. Once we got back we were surprised with the opportunity to hold Wyatt the alligator. This too was very informative and accommodating to all of our gator obsessed kiddos!

This was my second adventure. Recommend it. Price includes cost to hold a healthy 40 pound gator for pictures.
Staff are all very pleasant and informative. Got to see a few smaller gators, lot of turtles and fish in the swamps.
Of course the fun is the speed and turns of the air boat ride through the marsh. It’s about an hour adventure. Worth it.

This is my 2nd time with Swamp Fever, brought family this time and it was just as spectacular as the 1st time! Got to see some gators and babies along with beautiful nature! We even got to hold a 30lb real live gator Josephine. Everyone is so friendly and helpful! I will definately be back!

Loved this tour! All the staff was so friendly even the guy helping to dock the boat. They were well organized, stayed on time and the guide knew so much about the swamp, you could tell he loved the area. Some of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen. We saw alligators , turtles, baby alligators, fish and so many incredible birds. The guide knew each animal and their habits. The office staff was also very friendly .

We went for my daughter and nephews birthday. We had a group of 12 people ranging in age from 70 to 7 including a non verbal special needs child. We had an AMAZING time! Captain Sam was brilliant and everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable, answering all of our questions. We really had such an amazing experience, everyone should do this! Everyone agreed it was better than going to Disney!

Quick trip to visit family down here in Florida, and they suggested we go on an alligator tour... We went to the right place! The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and yes, we saw alligators; big ones, medium and babies. Even if we hadn't seen all of the alligators we did, the scenery was worth it.. what a great tour! I wish I could add the video of the swamp… it was “wow!”💚

There are a lot of options for airboats in this area, but this was in my opinion the best. The captain was very knowledgeable and the team was super friendly. I was very impressed. My students had a great time. We saw a few alligators and got to hold one. I will be coming back.

My first time on an airboat and very happy we chose Swamp Fever for this adventure. Saw lots of gators of all sizes from babies to large mom and dad as well as a ton of birds and turtles. Our driver/guide did a great job of pointing out where to look. Finally, the lake itself and the offshoots from it with all the cypress trees is beautiful. One more thing, you get to hold a baby alligator at the end of your trip. Highly recommend

I would definitely do this again. It was so beautiful. Was hoping for more wildlife but it was a little chilly that day so animals were not very active but that's no one's fault. We enjoyed our trip very much. Getting to pet/take pictures with the little gators was awesome too. Everyone was very nice and helpful.

Sam, our captain was incredible. He was so thorough, fun and hilarious! The grounds where it is located is soooo peaceful and beautiful. I will definitely be coming back!! And recommending them! Book it- you seriously wont regret it.

This was my first time in Florida or even on an airboat. I had a blast and great time. I also loved holding the younger alligator at the end and seeing younger and older alligators as well. The Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing is a long-standing establishment that displays an extensive collection of vintage hot rods and drag racing cars. It is an awe-inspiring place, especially for car enthusiasts who appreciate high-quality exhibits. Although the focus is on drag racing, visitors can enjoy seeing classic cars and other interesting displays. The friendly staff are happy to chat and provide helpful information during the visit. Additionally, there are senior discounts available for those who qualify.
Wonderful place! Beautiful cars. It was set up nicely. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a very informative visit. It was all great. However the antique cars were my favorite! Prepare to spend some time there!

Five stars for everyone who like auto museums. Three stars for the people who don't. The museum consists of two very large buildings. The first building is dedicated to drag racing and the second is an auto museum. I consider "Big Daddy" Don Garrity as of of the founders of drag racing. The museum does an outstanding job of presenting the evolution of drag racing. One hour for a normal visit, but three hours is this is an area you really like. Outstanding signage on vehicles and engines.

My wife and I moved to an area near the museum in 2022. Once settled I took some time to visit and was overwhelmed by the sheer number of cars at this museum. Although I am a fan of drag racing I am also a huge fan of antiques and classics, so the antique museum became a quick favorite. I liked the museum so much I applied for a position and was hired, first as a volunteer,
then as a part-time employee. Being able to work at the museum and meet "Big Daddy" Don Garlits, along with some very interesting visitors, was an experience I will cherish forever. I highly recommend stopping by for a visit if you are in the area. You will not regret it!

This place is amazing love it I believe I knew it existed but we move out of Florida before I got the opportunity to go in. Now finally we got to go and then I loved it. I like how they have all the history and all the information about the different drivers and cars but all that stuff it is pretty cool and then go in there and live that experience. Then going to the other car museum the antique is pretty nice as well it was it was quite an experience I recommended 100%.

The history of drag racing from start and the ups and downs of drag racing. Engine room is cool to see different kinds he used. All different types of drag cars. Then the classic cars museum is incredible of all the old cars and model cars. I would say give yourself 3hrs to see both museum. Then check out the outside walk of fame of drag racing. Kids will enjoy this museum.

Overwhelming ! Too much to take it all in for one day even if you’re not into drag racing because the other building has an amazing number of restored automobiles from the 1900’s – 1930s up to the present. One ticket covers it all. We took about 2 hours to walk through slowly without watching all the videos. This place has all the trophies, newspaper articles, magazine covers, framed photographs, helmets…even entire room for engines! Really a great stop.

I finally was able to visit Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing. I have visited quite a few museums lately, with this one not being the typical museum. It's not even your typical car museum. In this case, the whole reason for this museum is Drag Racing. I must say mission accomplished.
I love the fact that Don's idea of a museum is the correct way. Yes a lot of it does pertain to Mr. Garlits and his career in Drag Racing. But soooooo much is not about Don, but instead many other personalities associated with Drag Racing. There are many cars and items throughout decades of the sport.
The Museum itself has three large rooms holding many cars, engines and many other items. I enjoyed taking a break and sitting on a bench to watch a video. You can spend a lot of time here if you really look and read. There were so many cars, people and event subjects that I remember over the years. But just as important were the many of the same that I didn't remember and learned about.
My only regret is that my ankle was much less enthusiastic than my brain, about the amount of time that I could spend walking around and standing enjoying the exhibits. Just a great place and better than I was expecting. Well done to Don and the folks that maintain this jewel.
There of course is a gift shop where you can purchase things. The rest rooms are in the gift shop if folks need to visit. There is a discount off the price for things like being over 60, or a veteran and such. So you may be able to save a few dollars as well. The price also includes admission for a second car museum on the property. That museum is more of the car museum most folks would picture when mentioning car museums. It's also very nice. I'm sure that I'll be back in the future. There was so much enjoyment to be had if you enjoy motorsports and especially drag racing. Thank you Mr. Garlits for building such a place for folks like myself.

Fantastic museum for drag racing history buffs! Plan to arrive no later than 2-3 in the PM since the doors close at 5. You will need at LEAST 2 hours to go thru the 2 buildings. I recommend more time if you really want to stop, look, and read the exhibit descriptions and look closely at items on display. Nothing short of an awesome experience. Cool stuff in the Gift Shop as well!!
Gypsy Gold Horse Farm is a must-visit destination when in Ocala. The farm houses beautiful horses, as well as goats, donkeys, and birds. The staff is informative about the breed and interact with the animals. Dennis, the owner, currently gives tours which provide historical context and evoke positive emotions. The cost per person is minimal for what visitors get to experience at the farm.
If you are planning a trip to Ocala, Gypsy Gold Horse Farm is a Must See! Dennis, the owner is turning 73 and winding down. He currently gives the tour and the story behind this place is historical, memorable and I can muster the words to say positively emotional. The animals are beautiful. You can see the staff interact with them and care for them. The cost per person is nothing for what you get for. Go Now while Dennis is still hosting the tour!

My husband and I visited Gypsy Gold Horse Farm last Saturday. This was, by far, the best visit of its type I have ever experienced. I knew about Gypsy Vanners thanks to a video some years ago and was enchanted by them. Dennis Thompson brings their history to the forefront and, additionally, presents a wonderful insight into the people who first developed the beginnings of this breed and who are, often, so misunderstood. Dennis presents history well and is incredibly personable and kind. When you leave, you feel you have a new friend.
Whether you are just looking for a new and unusual highlight to a vacation, or are interested in becoming more involved at some level, Gypsy Gold is the place to go.
We will be returning as often as we can. Dennis has some beautiful and wonderful plans for the future that are best described by him. Go. You will not regret it. You’ll get to meet, up close, some of the finest equine specimens on the planet. Take carrots!

Gypsy Gold Horse Farm is a beautiful property with a quite interesting history. The owner, Dennis, told everyone about the beginnings of the Gypsy Vanner breed including a great historical overview of the gypsy families that he spent time with to learn more about their culture. Dennis is an excellent speaker who kept us engaged with lively and humorous stories of his own personal life in the equine industry including the colorful cast of characters he's met along the way. Afterwords he took us on a guided tour of the farm to meet his menagerie of interesting and beautiful animals. The two hours we spent at Gypsy Gold Horse Farm was an enlightening and thoroughly enjoyable experience.

We did the 45 minute tour and enjoyed it. Brief introduction from the owner, Dennis, about the history of the horses and the ranch was interesting. Sure, lectures are not for everyone but we wanted to know the history of the breed and the farm so we found it informative. The walking tour that followed did not disappoint. The grounds are beautiful, lots of large oaks and green pastures. The horses are beautiful, friendly and came up to our group. We were are able to get up close to touch and rub them and take photos. The volunteer who gave the tour was excellent. They are very passionate and it shows. We would definitely visit again when beck in the area.

Far exceeded my expectations! I was captivated by the warm and welcoming atmosphere that reflects the owners' genuine love for their Gypsy Vanner horses, as well as all of the other animals on the farm. Every corner of the farm resonates with the passion and dedication of the owners, making it a unique and memorable experience. You can feel the love and care that goes into every aspect of this haven for both horses and visitors. It is a truly special place where the owners' vibrant life and and connection with the horses shine through in every detail. I also love that they are now sharing this experience with the local schools, educating the children and teaching compassion. I highly recommend a visit to Gypsy Gold Farm :)

My family and I visited today. Dennis and Erin were wonderful. It was a unique experience, and my family felt lucky to hear Dennis' story first hand. His passion for these stunning creatures, his knowledge, and story are a wonder to witness and hear. Please ignore the people saying the over hour talk wasn't worth it. It was worth every minute, and made me teary eyed many times! We feel blessed to have met Dennis and Erin. Dennis and Erin took us on the tour of the property, where we interacted with so many of the horses. Also, Dennis' vision for the future of the Gypsy Gold Farm is just beautiful. If you love horses and animals, then you will love visiting this special place.

I brought my daughter here while she was visiting and we both left like we had just watched a movie. The history of this farm, the horses, the people (present & past) so amazing. Dennis is the kind of person you could sit and hear stories of his life experiences for hours. Taylor was also exceptional in speaking with everyone and sharing knowledge with us regarding the farm, and the animals as well.
I plan to go again with other family members as I also believe they will love the experience just as much as we did.
Quaint complex with boutiques, restaurants, performing-arts venues & a movie theater.
Great live entertainment. Check out the band Hooligans. They were great. Rain or shine, there is always something to do.

The oldest of three squares and it seems like the powers to be don't really have a plan to rehab it. They started to do things them stopped with Katie Belles and the movie theater. Best part of the square is the 3td Saturday car show.
I photograph Uncle Bob's Rock Shop and this is the worst of the three squares to shoot the band in. The Gazebo stage is a poor design way too small, too high and really poor sight angles even if your just watching a band. I've pretty much stopped shooting their shows here. They did some work on the actual square awhile back and they should have revamped/enlarged the stage.

What a fantastic place to just forget about your troubles. We rented kayaks for two hours and started at 9am. I recommend this time or earlier if you don't like crowds or are new to kayaking. We also did the boat tour, which was awesome, and our captain was very friendly. Don't forget to tip them. 😉 They are going through some renovations which are expected to be completed in the fall so no gift shops or Cafe. You will not be disappointed going here.

Our kayak trip was amazing! We did the 2 hour float. The water is crystal clear, and pictures do not do it justice. The staff was super friendly and well organized. We showed up a little early for our reservations, and they let us go a little early. The clear kayaks we reserved were out for repairs unfortunately. They refunded us the difference and apologized for them not being available. We still had a ton of fun! Would highly recommend this trip!

Definitely the glass bottom tour was worth it. We went during December Christmas break and there were plenty pf manatees . We could spot a number of them when they sneak peek above the water. As they were swimming and having their breakfast under water , the visibility was low around them so it was hard to spot them through glass bottom but our captain of the boat was so sweet that he tried to get us a glimpse of it under water and we did, a big one swam just under the glass bottom. It was a great sight. We did see a alligator basking in the florida sunshine ☀️ and number of beautiful fishes. It was so crystal clear and there were several springs which we toured above. It was overall a great experience. Definitely a must do on a clear sunny day. One can also take a glass kayak/canoe and spend their own sweet time in these waters.

The springs are beautiful. We’ve gone paddle boarding here many times, renting and bringing our own. The loop is easy and can be made in less than an hour, if you’re in a hurry. The long trip down the river is so fun and the gators, monkeys and all the fish and birds make the paddle so fun. This is definitely something worth doing a few times.

Did this trip last year with 2 others and had a blast. Decided to come again with 5 others. Had an absolutely wonderful experience both times.
There was a short wait to check in and pay and then put the kayaks in the water, but it wasn't too bad. The River Patrol was very helpful with information and directions.
Highly recommend anybody to come and experience this. If you don't have your own kayak, you can rent them.
Looking forward to next year!

Found this beauty while exploring the area on a business trip to Ocala. The most beautiful blueish green water. Really nice outdoor activity to do with family! We were hoping to see a manatee but we didn't, unfortunately! Maybe next time. We brought our dogs, and they loved sniffing around. Lots of new wildlife to see and hear. Wish we had more time to kayak. Such beautiful water here! The boats looked fun, but we didn't go on a tour. The front lady was so nice and spoiled our dogs with loves and dog bones!

An extensive and beautiful natural park with a couple of shops/restaurants and one can also explore it by boat/kayak/canoe. The boardwalk encompassing a rich forest area has several shaded spots. For me the highlight was watching the wildlife in crystal clear water and seeing a pretty good sized gator from a safe but close distance. Parking is not a problem, lots of free spaces. Well worth returning to.

We live pretty close to Silver Springs and we try to go every morning for our walk. The staff are great every question you have they have an answer. The grounds are well maintained and very clean. If you come at the right time you will see the monkeys, once you spot the first one it's easy to find the others. You will also see all kinds of wildlife alligators, big fish etc... I could go on and on. We see something different every time we go and that's 4 or 5 times a week. It's a great place to come just to have coffee and enjoy the nature.

There is lots to see why paddling around on the water. You can do a short trip or spend a day there. They have third-party kayak rentals, or you pay the park fee and can launch your own.

It's about 2 hours north of us but we've been several times this year for paddling. The shuttle service is great and worth the price. So much gorgeous scenery and wildlife and it is a very relaxing ride down. Would recommend to everyone to go at least once.

Beautiful place to kayak if you have the chance. It can get pretty busy on the river, so it's best on a weekday first thing in the morning. Highly recommend! We came across a wide variety of wildlife during our time down the river. Manitees, alligators, turtles, monkeys, various birds, even jumping fish!
Piece of advice, if you kayak/canoe make sure you utilize a waterproof cell phone bag that FLOATS! Almost lost my phone for good if it weren't for someone with a net coming by just by chance.

Beautiful place a lot of trails a garden out of mates. We did the kayak we bring our kayak you can rent in the place you have a beautiful trail with the kayak. You can see all the kind of animal birds, monkeys mates and if you already pay for the campground, you don’t need to pay for the park And also if you don’t want to go today park you can just bring your own kayak and put in the water and start the trail. It’s very beautiful place quiet and it was not out of people. The water temperature is 72 but you cannot go inside the water in this place, very recommend! Enjoy your trip

We love Silver Springs. It is amazing to kayak. You see birds, manatees, alligators, turtle, fish, sunken ships and several springs not just Silver Springs. We have not been on the glass bottom boats but have overheard the boat captains and the seem quite knowledgeable. It is $5/kayak to launch your own kayak but parking is free. We have been here in December and saw several manatees and in April and saw the birds in their estuary, amazing both time frames though I think I'm my opinion the Spring was a little better because of all the birds. However, I don't think you can go wrong any time of year.

A beautiful nature gem in Silver Springs Florida.
As soon as you enter the park, you can start seeing the fauna and flora within the park. The parking is ample and free.
The entrance to the park is only $2 and kids under 6 are free. Senior discount is also available. You can have glass boat excursions for an additional $12.
The persons attending the booth are superb. They make you feel welcome.
The park has many walking trails for you to enjoy. The fauna and flora are all well kept and beautiful.
We took the glass boat excursions and saw a lot of enchantment that Silver Springs has to offer.
If you are lucky, you may see turtles and alligators during the trip. The captain was a blast. We were laughing from start to finish.
Highly recommended.

We have been to Silver Spring State Park twice so far. It's so enjoyable. We have done the glass tour which is a great experience and also you get a lot of information from the captain of the boat while on it.
The canoes / kayak are a must, you will get the opportunity to enjoy at first sight the marvelous ecosystem of this spring, the clear water, the music of the sound of the birds and if you are lucky enough you will see manatees, alligators and turtles. There are also trails and camp grounds.
The have some spots to buy food and also have clean restrooms.
We are very looking forward to come back soon.
Please respect the environment and keep the place clean.

Such a beautiful place to kayak at! We paid the entrance fee and launch fee and brought our own kayaks and paid 12$ for two people, we chose to paddle back and not get out at the Ray Wayside Park which was a little bit of a challenge but definitely do able! We seen fish, turtles, so many birds, a decent amount of alligators and some manatee! Would highly recommend for a nice relaxing float down the river while searching for wildlife!

We canoed the river and springs in our own boat. What a beautiful place with white sand on the bottom, the sink adding makes the water look aquamarine. We saw dozens of turtles, almost as many Anhinga and Cormorants, Ibis and Blue Herons. Also we spotted a couple of alligators and maybe a dozen Manatee in several small pods, plus a couple alone. Just wonderful. We did the small loop which only took about 70 minutes.

Kayak rentals where a bit pricey ~($45/$60) and line was long to get shuttle tickets but it is definitely worth it to kayak this river it was gorgeous and see-through the whole 5 mi downstream trip the shuttle cost 15 additional dollars to get back to your original parking spot. We saw tons of monkeys, river otters, alligators, birds and other wildlife. It was beautiful and shaded/had tree cover approximately half the trip so I did not get sunburn even though I forgot my sunscreen. Took about 3 hours to go down all the way down stream.

Beautiful but very crowded at the start, partly because the Fort King trail was closed. Really caused a snafu at the put-in. But otherwise lovely! Be warned, if you are an average paddler, definitely turn around at the big orange arrow! It's easy to go farther than you intend and end up paddling against the current on your way back. We were dog-tired when we finished!!

We visited on a Saturday in mid March and it was packed! Almost no parking when we arrived close to 1 pm. We hadn’t made a reservation for the kayaks but we were able to get one for 2 people without problem. We did a 5 mile trajectory on the river and took us about 2h. The shuttle took us back to the entrance. We saw manatees and monkeys!! Then we hiked for the blue trail and yellow trails. It took us about 1:15h but wasn’t very scenic. There’s not a lot of shade so keep it in mind. We would definitely go back! Beautiful.

The Butterfly Rainforest Museum of Natural History at the University of Florida is a popular attraction that features an interactive exhibit with thousands of butterflies and moths.
We saw a billboard on I75 and decided to stop by. We had the best butterfly encounter. They also had a dino exhibition that we enjoyed as well.. the butterflies though stole the show. If heaven was a place, this would be it. They have an incredible variety of butterfly species in here. It's absolutely fantastic to be able to see them all fluttering around. They provide them a large variety of pollinator plants so no matter the species, they are happy. They clearly care about the health and safety of all their butterflies and it's just magical to be able to witness it. I had to walk through twice just to be able to experience it again. 10/10 would recommend 💛

Butterfly Rainforest is like stepping into a page of a fairy tale book. Though compact in size, it bursts at the seams with vibrant life and natural beauty. A favorite among children, the venue is a testament to the idea that sometimes the most magical places come in small packages.
From the moment you enter, you're greeted by a myriad of fluttering wings, as countless butterflies dance around, making it a delightful spectacle. The vivid hues of these delicate creatures contrasted against the backdrop of lush greenery and radiant flowers is genuinely a sight to behold.
Speaking of flowers, the Rainforest is a paradise for botany enthusiasts. The curated collection of flora not only serves as nourishment for the butterflies but also provides visitors with a sensory treat of colors and scents. Each petal and leaf has been meticulously cared for, showcasing the delicate balance and harmony within this micro-ecosystem.
The addition of the serene water body dotted with colorful koi fish adds another layer of charm to the place. Watching these graceful fish move through the water, almost in a rhythmic dance, is both calming and captivating.
Though it might not take a whole day to explore, the Butterfly Rainforest leaves a lasting impression. It's a testament to nature's beauty and a gentle reminder that sometimes, the most beautiful things are found in the smallest of spaces.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a quick escape into a world of vibrant colors, mesmerizing creatures, and tranquility, the Butterfly Rainforest should be on your radar. It's not just an attraction; it's an experience - one that both kids and adults will cherish.

Very enjoyable, a helpful, friendly staff, and wow the butterflies!! I visit each year, and the display changes each time, and many species are always present, and each time I visit there are new ones to see for the first time. I recommend going on weekdays when plentiful parking is available, and the crowds are less likely, and pick a sunny day when the butterflies are active for the best display :-)

I have been to quiet a few museums in my life time and this one was very well laid out and was not to long or to short it was just right the facility was clean and had ample parking over all it was a very pleasant family outing and we thank you for your work and dedication to supplying our youth and even our adults with the beauty and history you elegantly laid out for our viewing pleasure can't wait to see how you change things around with new exhibits in the future

Not too expensive, great for kids with a variety of exhibits and rotating displays. The staff were friendly and helpful during our lost-child incident. They had a very interesting display of fossils, presented in a timeline of ancient Florida. They also had a great area for young children, including those with sensitivities. Highly recommended.

Me and my mom went on a Saturday, and we waited about 20 seconds to buy our tickets. The most impressive thing about the museum was the organization of everything and how updated each exhibit was! We spent about 3 hours in the museum, the butterfly exhibit is definitely worth the extra money, super beautiful and relaxing. Also we loved how on each exhibit everything was clearly labeled, letting us know what we were looking at, which we LOVED. Also at the fossil area, the table with two magnifying glasses was super cool and went maybe 20 minutes there just looking at shells and snake skin. This museum is fun for adults as well as kids and we will definitely go back

What a wonderful museum and tip of the hat to FL! Butterfly garden is a must IMO if you like butterflies. The museum has the largest specimen collection of butterfliesand moths in the world at over 9 million specimens! The temporary Fossil exhibit they have on display for a limited time is amazing. The kids were able to get hands on, not only in the discovery center, but also helping to glue together and label fossils before they are cataloged in the national database. We will be back. The.food at the Cafe next door was great and reasonably priced!

I absolutely LOVE this museum! It definitely is a must-do in Gainesville. I have visited over 10+ times and I have a wonderful experience each time. The exhibits are interesting, captivating, and very informative. I love the limited time exhibits they offer. They will often include hands-on and interactive displays, which is fun for kids and adults! The discovery zone is also super hands-on and interesting. The butterfly garden is absolutely beautiful and an experience I recommend for everyone. The museum also has a great gift shop! Don't miss out on this outstanding museum!

Wow this place is so cool! It's a wonderful museum dedicated to Florida's natural history and has so many interesting exhibits. My absolute favorite is the fossil exhibit. The Mastodon display is quite impressive and mostly intact. The butterfly garden is pretty spectacular too. And if you like spiders and creepy crawly things check out the Spiders Live exhibit. We had such a wonderful time here.

Great museum to spend half a day in. Plenty to see and learn about Florida’s natural history. Area for kids to interact and learn. Butterfly garden is a must add on. The temporary exhibits vary throughout the year and are usually worth the add on as well.

This museum is great! I'm a Florida native and very passionate about the states wildlife, and their collections are very diverse and informative. So many cool fossils, specimens, and exhibits on the flora and fauna of the state. Their traveling exhibits are always super interesting as well, most recently I saw the dinosaur egg exhibit, which had ton of interesting info and reproductions for both kids and adults. I definitely recommend this place, especially for return visits, because there's just so much to see!

Really impressive museum for its size. It looks small from the exterior but its a labyrinth of exhibits and a wealth of Florida science and history information. The discovery kids zone is fantastic, but note that section and the special exhibits close 30 minutes before actual museum closing time. Its free admission to permanent exhibits and an absolute must with kiddos if you're visiting the area.

Nice museum. Easy parking. Lots to see and different exhibits. Paid extra to see the butterfly garden and spider display. Was worth it. Lots of Florida history. Arrow heads. Native American history. Fossils. It wasn’t too busy. Lots of space staff was very friendly and informative. Nice place to spend the day. Good for family’s kids and dates.

So wonderful! It's free to get in but you have to pay to see the extra exhibits. It's totally understandable when you think about how expensive it would be to keep all of the butterflies, plus the plants , and other animals alive. I highly recommend it! I've never seen so many shell fossils! The native American history was also educational and would be great for kids (especially homeschooling ones).

I love this museum. I’ve learned a lot!
The entrance is free, but if you wanna visit the butterfly kingdom and a spider world you need to pay for their tickets. For the first timers, I recommend touring around the museum first.

I enjoyed looking at the different types of fossils and reading about them! It is not a huge exhibition for the dinosaurs, but it is still unique to see. There are plenty of interactive things to do with kids, and many different types of cool figures and creatures.

I enjoy visiting museums a big deal- this is one of my favorite museums in Florida. I especially enjoyed the butterfly rainforest & the spiders section. However, there is a lot to learn from this museum and it’s a good family spot and are to visit on a weekend or any day really.

A really nice museum thoroughly depicting the history of Florida’s prehistoric past. There are a huge collection of fossils and entire skeletons of prehistoric animals from the region. There are also a great many displays on the early indigenous people of the area. A really interesting place to visit.

We loved everything about this museum! We had gone once before and decided to take our entire family this go around. The butterfly gardens are a must. We enjoyed being able to go in as many times as we wanted. Perfect location for both kids and adults to have a memorable trip. Entry is free, just have to pay for the add-ons like the butterfly gardens.
Rachel Benner — Google review
It was a bit windy and brisk so we didn’t do the butterfly rainforest as the lady at the ticket desk told us it wouldn’t be worth the ticket price as the butterflies aren’t out and active when it’s cooler outside so we just browsed the gift shop and free portions of the museum as a pit stop on our way back from Orlando. It was a nice place to explore and a good way to break up the drive.

every time my granddaughter comes to visit me we go to see the butterfly exhibition. Beautiful is like being in another world. Due to her condition of Autism, her connection with nature is incredible. She also has ADHD.
also requiring Support in Social Communication. Before entering she understands the rules of the site very well even better than me. because she is high functioning autistic. And believe me, maybe one day she will work for you guys. But the fact that she spreads her arms is not an indication that she wants to touch the butterflies. It is for them to reach her. I'm telling you this not because of a bad review because there was one of you staff employees who came out and told her you can't touch them. You can imagine what happened to her. she began to cry because what she wanted was for a blue butterfly to reach on her hands. Nothing more than that. She wasn't touching her I was with her reminding her of the rules she just wanted to feel the blue butterfly in her hands. She wasn’t stalking them . which she knows very well its name and its characteristics not only of that butterfly of almost all of them. I can assure you that in the future my granddaughter will be of great help to you. Having said all this, I only have one suggestion. Today various colors are used to identify special conditions. I think it's the purple color. With a bracelet you as employees will know that it is a person with special conditions. but that behind them there is an adult who knows the rules and is going to help you to make that special person follow the rules in such a beautiful place prepared to preserve something as beautiful as butterflies. My granddaughter Briana is very grateful that you take care of her butterflies, she understands that butterflies are God's creation and you have to take good care of them. When she spreads out her arms, she knows that at some point one of the butterflies is going to reach her, and that's how it has been on our recent visits to such a beautiful place.

Very busy but a lot of fun! Free to enter and only have to pay for the butterflies. Really enjoyed my visit and learning about the natural history of this area.
This state park is located in Gainesville, Florida and it has a 120-foot deep sinkhole that leads down to what they call a miniature rainforest. This state park is filled with cool artifacts and fossils and its worth a visit!
There is a huge difference coming here during all the seasons as you can tell from my pictures. If you've never learned about a sinkholes before definitely stop at the beginning of the trails. They also have put in a very cool display of what the ecosystem looks and sounds like down in the Millhopper.

Decided to come here while visiting our son at UF. We got to see this scene call and we walked all around the property. It was pretty cool for a short visit. There is a bathroom facility as well. One of the little bridges were closed for to maintenance so you weren't able to walk in a complete circle but it was still a nice short stroll
Rebecca Fine — Google review
Nice place for a quick hike. The bridge was not accessible though. So we have to go back, cannot, and walk around the sink hole. But the best thing about it is that it has a sign before you make a decision which way to go first. We decided to walk the long path, which is the right side, then we turn around and continue to the left and head down to the sink hole first and it has 127 steps (not counting the flat just the steps.) It was nice. There are several small waterfalls that feed down to the sink hole. It was interesting hearing different sounds of the water running down the sink hole.

Place is nice, clean and easy to walk it.
I went there with my little kids and they enjoyed going down the stairs and coming back up.
Seen some people walking thier dogs around but has to be leashed.
The time I was there Mar2022 ! The trail loop was closed for some repairs, you can walk it anyway but it isn’t loop as it used to be.

Just a short drive from Jacksonville and or Gainesville is a really cool park here. Take a stroll up and down the wooden steps to the water fall and pooling water way at the bottom. Enjoy being out in the woods with nature and seeing the beautiful greenery and trees. Listen to the birds and feel the sunshine on your skin. Ample parking under the canopy, educational signs for all to read about the animals that live therein. Take photos of the rippling water from down the hill and be prepared for many steps down and up into the cavern. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing. This was a sweet little aventure for my grandson and husband and I. I think it is worth it. Make a day out of it and bring a packed lunch for a picnic at your vehicle or under the trees at the entrance.

First time going. Lots to view! Elevations are good to see in Florida.
The trails are well kept and an easy walk.
The stairs are in great condition with handrails and plenty of landings to stop and view..and breathe!
It's a long way down and a long way up.
If you have knee or hip issues, this will be a challenge. I do but with the landings, it is helpful.
The views are really nice. Lots of "waterfalls" and the waterflow is nice to hear.
Didn't see much wildlife this time. I'm sure cooler temps will bring more out.
Restrooms are at the entrance to the trails and are well kept.
Rangers were present.
Ample parking.
Picnic area.
Good spot to visit.

Great little park to spend an hour or so. There is a small loop trail and steps down to the sink hole. As you go down (or up) the steps, you can read more about the history of the land. It was really quiet and peaceful on the day I visited (weekday in mid-December). There is a single stall restroom by the visitor center area.

This was very cool. I would like to see when more lush.
The trails were blocked off so sadly took us longer to drive there than enjoy it. But it was very cool to see.
We had visitors from out of state who wanted to see it

My recommendation to take the right trail first (bridge at the end is closed but you can turn and go back its a cool walk) then go to the devil’s eye path through the stairs, be careful going down the stairs is easy but going back up is not as easy. Stay a bit down near the eye enjoy the space and sound of small waterfalls.
Parking fees 4$ to be paid through an envelope at the parking entrance and put the sign back on your car rear mirror.

It was very hot, but the scenery was absolutely beautiful. We were a little disappointed because the hole looks like it has closed up, so it's now as deep as it used to be when I was a young teen. The stairs were exhausting, but good for exercise if you want it. The kids had a good time so that's all that matter to me!

We really enjoyed the short little hike. We went in the spring and everything was beautiful lush and green. We were pretty amazed at the rock formations and waterfalls. The basin was not full of water as we had anticipated it would be. This would make a great stop if you're short on time and still want to get a beautiful little hike in.

Great little stop with a short trail to the sink. Quite a few steps on the boardwalk to get down to the sink so be prepared for that. But nothing too strenuous. We've been twice and today there was a lot more water in the sink than our previous visit, likely due to the amount of rain the area has seen recently. Very beautiful and the placards are very informational so make sure to read them to learn about the history and how sinkholes form.
Casey Wright — Google review
Nice natural piece of history. Wish we could have gone into the sink hole but the 132 step decline allowed us to see all of the fora and fauna. Beautiful place and nice easy little hike around it.

A cool (pun intended) park to engage Florida geology, see the entirety of a sink hole by walking down well-constructrd stairs, and enjoy a shaded circular walk around the park. Informative kiosk and signage. Bring $4 cash for parking

This is a nice park with a cool sinkhole and a large zig-zag set of stairs to get closer to the bottom. There is a short, flat circular trail on top around the edge. Worth a visit if you are looking for a place to break up a drive along I-75.

20231205 Very small park. The walk down to the sinkhole and the nature trail around the park is about 0.92 miles from the parking lot. The steps down to the sinkhole and up is good workout. Not too difficult. The sinkhole was dried up and there were 4 little tiny waterfalls when I visited. I bet it is much prettier when the sinkhole is filled.

an absolute treat, a great place for a walk, enjoy nature, and get away. The stairs are not as bad as everyone said so I encourage you to take the walk all the way down; it's an amazing little trek. I also suggest mosquito spray or some type of bug/insect protection(I wore one of those wrist bands)

Beautiful walkway leading down to the sinkhole and a nice path around it. Unfortunately, we were there in April and the sinkhole was dry. It took us approx. 1 1/2 hours to experience the whole area. We stopped at Las Margaritas on the way and the food was wonderful.

Visited in mid-January and had some drizzle but still pleasant. Really enjoyed seeing it from the top without any interfering foliage. Didn't walk but halfway down as the new steps were a little slippery. Some views were remarkable with the moss covered rocks and running water through the stream. Well worth stopping to visit.
The Pulitzer Prize-winning author's restored 1930s Cross Creek farmhouse with tours & gardens.
This is a great day trip. We took our time and enjoyed the whole area. Nice walking trails all level and in the shade; nice surprise.
Tours were available and needed to go into the house. $3 per group in one vehicle to enter park. Honor box to pay the fee; correct change is needed.
The farmhouse tour fee is $3 per adult and $2 per child. Hours 9 to 5.
It is perfect for kids and all accessible for any age. Plenty of benches and picnic tables.
Great restaurant “The Yearling” just up the road well worth the stop.

We throughly enjoyed our visit to Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park. The grounds and the trails were beautifully scenic. I especially enjoyed walking the jungle trail behind the house with the many cypress trees and orange trees.
The tenant house was open for a self guided tour, and had three rooms and a large porch..
We toured the farmhouse with a tour guide. We were taken through each room. Our guide pointed out interesting things that Ms. Rawlings wrote about in her book, “Cross Creek.” I am very glad I had the foresight to read that book before the tour.

One of the nicest place for a day trip. A small farm house, may be you have seen that many times in your dreams but never expected it to exist in real world. Not very exciting, yet very close to heart- beautiful! The late January winter evening: an unplanned respite, a cup of tea was the only missing thing to enjoy the mysterious evening.

This is one of my most favorite places in Florida. I try to go at least once a year. Definitely go on the free house tour (Thursdays through Sundays.) Every time I've gone, the guides have been able to answer every weird question I've thrown at them. They even knew the name of the paint color (FYI: Shermin Williams Cheese Curd.). I love everything about this place - the house, the remnants of the orange grove across the street, the barn, and that you get a day full of fun for only $3 per car. Can't beat that with a stick.

This site is a snapshot of ‘old Florida’ before we began to fill the state with animatronic theme parks and palatial subdivisions. It represents a slower lifestyle when we grew our own fruits and vegetables and raised our own livestock. You can spend a pleasant hour or two exploring Ms Kinnan Rawlings home and small orange grove. This site is especially interesting for fans of her books and has a nostalgic charm for Florida natives that remember the old days. The tour guides are knowledgeable and are clearly fans of her work. I enjoyed hearing about the famous authors that came to visit.

I booked a private tour for my wife and myself and we got to experience this wonderful place today. Everything about it was amazing. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and able to answer our questions, often times before we even knew what to ask. We saw almost all of the animals (remember you’re on the animals time and at their home so you may not get to see them all) and we also fed the baby lemurs. This was truly a great time and I recommend everyone get out there as soon as you can.

Had an amazing time on a private walking tour with my husband. The guide was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. My husband arranged it as a surprise for me, including feeding experiences, and she helped him keep it a secret until the end. I loved hearing the backgrounds of the animals, watching them interact, and seeing how happy they were. I would highly recommend visiting. Just know, you may not see all the animals because they either sleep during the day or are trying to keep cool. It is not the fault of the staff, you’re on the animals’ time and at their home.

I absolutely had a blast. We had a wonderful Tour guide and she taught us about these beautiful specimens from tigers, to big cats, to lemurs. There were peacocks roaming the sky and some lovely little furry cat co-workers on foot who kept us all company. My favorite animals were the cheetahs and of course the lemurs who gave us a chance to pet them (ask for Sweetcakes)! The lemurs experience was so much fun! Afterwards we learned about all the ways to support this conservatory, from donations to open houses to the cute gift shop, to the open house events. Will have to attend, must see attraction right here!!! Say hi to Sunflower the tiger for me!!!

My family came down from Virginia and we stopped in here for a tour. It was amazing how many endangered animals they are taking care of, and how knowledgeable the staff is.
We were surprised at the amount of animals we were able to see and interact with…at a safe distance. We were also lucky to get an up close encounter with a baby clouded leopard (adorable!), as well as to feed a rhino (both hilarious and adorable).
Isaiah, the zookeeper who gave us a tour was incredibly knowledgeable. I don’t think there was one question we asked him that he couldn’t answer. He was friendly and welcoming, making the tour a great experience.
Whenever we’re down here again, we’re definitely coming back to check on our new friends.
This is our second trip here and there is honestly not a bad thing to say about the place. Some lots are obviously better than others and we have a list of preferred lots now but aside from that this place is AMAZING. The staff is friendly, helpful and kind. Seriously they deliver your fire wood to your spot (we tip but it’s not required and the 3 for $20 is impossible to beat). All of our campsite neighbors have been kind and respectful. There are no obnoxious trucks or music, the lots are all clean and well maintained. We anticipate being here once a month because of how lively everything has truly been.

We have been going to Salt Springs for more than a decade. Things have change alot from being wood around area to concrete. The spring and the area are always clean, they manage it very well. A lot of room to swim as long as it is not very crowded, the srping gets very busy on some holiday like, Memorial, 4th of July, Labor Day and Summer time! Tons of picnic area, it has bathroom and changing rooms. You can do a day trip or camping (primitive or electric camp site). We used to remember paying per vehicle/day to swim now it's $12/person/day to swim in the spring. Come early to get you a good spot in the spring area. Bring your own food and drinks (no alcohol). It opens at 8am, open all year round, unless weather changes.

My niece has this experience this weekend..
This has been THE WORST camping experience we have ever had. We came in for 6/8/22-6/12/22. Our grown children came in Thursday morning with their boat and paid $27 and told to park in the over flow lot that was PACKED FULL. Then our kids and us were given a $25 ticket for parking on the grass by the dumpsters and back fence line because of their FULL lot. We have been TARGETED AND HARRASSED all weekend by their staff. You are allowed 2 vehicles per site but there is NOT SUFFICIENT room to park. Our children's vehicle has 2 tires on the grass and have just been told to move AGAIN after they have been there since Thursday morning in the same spot. We are the black Ford and White Doge side by side in fron of the camper. There is another White Dodge and a Red Doge directly across from us that have tires on the grass as well and have NOT been asked to move. We will NEVER patronize this place again and hopefully they realize how rude they have been to us.

Very nice campground and very quiet. If your looking for a quiet place to hang out at your campsite this place is for you. Be prepared for lots n lots of rules. If you break anyone of them your going to get a talking to. Not much to do in the area.
Scott Snuverink — Google review
The spring was so beautiful, and the property was very well kept, including campsites and rest rooms. The check-in process was smooth but could have been a bit more welcoming. Felt a bit like a lecture about all the rules. With that being said, all the maintenance staff and camp hosts were very friendly. We also liked the pet friendliness and the beauty around us. Would recommend.

I love the campground but the spring no longer has its fish and crabs. It used to be a great place to snorkel.

We camped here for the first time this year. Very clean and quiet campground in the full hookup area. Love the layout of the fire ring and grills to the cement pads. Well thought out. Never worried about anything from fire heading towards our camper. The primitive camping area the roads were very rough. No play equipment for children if that is something you look for.. We will come back in the future.

Nice springs for swimming, kayaking, with manatees in the winter. Plenty of jumping fish and wildlife. Good camping but guard against insects depending on the season.

Second time around so I'm adding a few additional notes. Thanks to Bob for the great check in experience! I've added a kayak to my camping equipment, unfortunately Salt Springs doesn't have a kayak launch site on premises. I did find and hike the one trail; which is a great Florida Birding trail titled "Bear Swamp Trail". It's a loop that takes a hiker on a 1.5 mile journey through various environments. The swamp section has an elevated walkway and overall the trail didn't seem to used a great deal. While I didn't encounter many birds I did see some interesting wildlife. I've added pictures to highlight those forest creatures. During our three day visit a hawk came by our campsite each day. That was very special and another reason to return. I would recommend Salt Springs to anyone looking for an amazing adventure!
This is an interesting camping experience! The grounds are very open and well manicured. All sites have water, electric, and sewer hookups. However, due to the location of the hookups you might need an extension for you sewer line or compromise the travel trailer position. The springs are amazing! Easy entry for swimming or snorkeling highlights this unique setting. The staff and camp hosts are very knowledgeable and friendly.
For Mother's Day, my family went on the river tour and had a blast with Captain Bob. He was funny and entertaining while also giving us the history of the area and information about the wildlife. We saw a baby manatee, lots of varieties of birds, and even an alligator! Highly recommended.

Captain Bob is everything that you can ask for in a tour guide; knowledgeable, friendly, with southern wit and incredibly entertaining. Maybe he will let you even drive the boat...

I have been on this tour six times over the last three years and it is always a marvelous experience. Anytime I have guests in town, we will be on the boat. Captain Bob, as always, is very entertaining, knowledgeable and accommodating. I always learn things about the flora and fauna and my guests have raved about the tours. Looking forward to our next trip for Thanksgiving time. Thank you Bob, see you again soon!

The four of us really enjoyed the River Tour today. Tina was very helpful making the reservations and Captain Bob could not have been nicer. The Captain narrated as he piloted the boat. He was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to listen to.
Also made plans to have lunch at the Williams Landing Restaurant, located where you catch the boat. Great food, great service!

My husband, son and I took my father on this tour for Father’s Day. It is difficult for my dad to get around, so I called and discussed his mobility issues with Tina before booking the trip. She was gracious and very accommodating. The trip on the river was delightful and Captain Bob was fun and full of information about the river’s flora and fauna as well as local history. After we returned, we stayed and enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Blackwater Inn. Don’t miss this trip!

This was a fun cruise with a knowledgeable captain. Lots of wildlife birds and gaters.

The boat trip was everything I expected. Staff was curteous. The trip started on time. Our Captain Rob shared his experiences on the river and pointed out alligators, native flowers and told us about the slider turtles we saw. The air was full of Osprey! Very beautiful day on the river.

Had a blast...we saw so many different kinds of birds and turtles. Saw gators of different ages. We even saw a manatee come up from the water. Rob was a great captain!
Ravine Gardens State Park is a serene green space with landscaped gardens, hiking trails, and a playground. It boasts some of the best hiking trails in Florida, including the 2.5 mile Azalea Trail that features suspension bridges and stone stairs. Visitors can also enjoy driving or biking along the 1.8 mile paved road that wraps around the beautiful ravine.
Amazing state park! On a mission to try to go to every state park in Florida and Georgia. This park is beautiful, Well maintained. The trails are great, great little hike/walks. They definitely have narrow edges, roots, and trees on the paths. Suspension/cable walk bridges are gorgeous. Very nice spot to have a wedding or gathering.

Cool place for quick day hike several trails none more than a couple of miles, that meander up and down or completely around a giant washed out ravine. Not much wildlife or unusual plants, clean facilities and a nice small formal garden. Good photo opps because of the unusual landscape.

These walk was so nice on a Spring day. Your Dog is welcome and the trails have places for them to drink from the springs. Check it out.
Sketchy Pam — Google review
Beautiful hidden gem. Abundant wildlife, creeks, garden, even a small natural spring. Suspension bridge was dry underneath in July. But still beautiful. Our dog loved it here, too.
There are public restrooms and a water fountain onsite.
Grier Cooper — Google review
New Thanksgiving tradition started this year. A hike somewhere that isn’t too far to get to. This was a 45 minute drive for us.
Ravine Gardens was easy to get to. I am guessing usually a person at guard shack collecting park fee ($5 for up to 8 in vehicle) but since a holiday, it was the honor system. (A locked box was where where we placed our $5) Plenty of parking, cement parking lot.
There’s a huge area with a flag from each state, right next to parking area.
There is also a large building with conference rooms that’s open and does have public bathrooms. Water fountains and fountains to fill water bottles are also in this building.
It is dog friendly. There’s even a little park for the kids. There’s areas to cook out at top part of trail.
I believe there is 2 trails. We took the Azalea Trail. Pretty easy to follow, look for red dots on trees. It wasn’t a difficult climb but watch your step. Lots of exposed roots, downed trees (none directly on path) and you should wear good shoes, no flip flops.
There is a gorgeous suspended bridge. I bet it’s really pretty here when the azaless are in full bloom. We seen lots of squirrels but not many birds that day.
Jolene Byrne — Google review
Beautiful State Park with lots of trails for all levels of ability. Really cool suspension bridges. Nice facilities and well maintained. We missed the Azalea blooms by 2 weeks but some still lingered. 5 dollar entry fee per vehicle.
Ron Thompson — Google review
Small state park. I walked all the trails at 3.2 miles and saw the gardens in an hour and a half. Make sure you go down the steps and walk the length of the ravine along the water, as this is the prettiest section. Dappled shade throughout. Fountains are drained now at the end of December. Some azaleas are in bloom, but it will be spectacular in a month. I drove 35 minutes and felt it was worth it. Probably wouldn’t drive more than an hour out of my way. Park outside the gate and walk in (not much farther than going inside) and pay $2 CASH. If you drive inside, it’s $5 CASH.
Susan Beasley — Google review
So beautiful!! Worth the trip! Great trail with beautiful views. We saw a huge owl! The bridges are fun. Very clean bathrooms and filtered water refill stations. Big pavilion with tables at the front of the park and picnic tables and seating throughout.
Kristina Marty — Google review
Easy nature trails, the main one is under 2 miles. You have the option to go down the stairs to the ravine and do some more steps, the stairs will give you a good workout. Very pretty park.
Melissa Wu — Google review
Great place to walk/hike, it has a paved road for cars, bikes, or walking. Lots of picnic areas. Great placs for the family, even has a playground. Not just for experienced hikers, but has some of those trails too.
Jeremy Rauscher — Google review
We enjoyed this statepark today, it is my first time visiting it. Apparently, the park is famous of their Azalea. The fee is $5/vehicle, they have bathroom everywhere even in the trails area. If you are not up to walking or so, you can drive the park trail (open til 4pm) just please bare in mind, they are people including children's are walking so pay close attention in the road. Also, there is 2 steep turn to drive going down trail area by the tiny lake park..We've done both driving and walking the trail as well. The park is clean in nature, bathrooms are everywhere, make sure if you have little one to watch them closely as they can run around and often might get lost (distracted) in the walking trails. We love the hanging bridge, we probably cross it plenty of times. The creek is awesome as well, you can do picnics by the creek. Picnic tables are everywhere as well. We saw 2 playground area for the young ones. We enjoyed the trip so much will be back again when the azalea blossoms!

We just spent 2 1/2 hours hiking there. It was amazing. We have a 3,5,8,9 year old with us and they all did amazing on this hike. So pretty. The flowers were just staring to bloom.
Alaina Lyons — Google review
Nice place to stretch your legs and climb up/down steps. The best time to visit is when azaleas are in bloom, January through March. Otherwise you will see pretty wildflowers and lush tropical Florida vegetation. With the many trails, it's easy to find an isolated path to meander. Take in sweeping views of the ravines and learn about its history.

Great place to hike through Florida nature. Pretty tough trails for fl. Suspension bridge was cool and there is also springs and creek at bottom of ravine. Just watch for snakes, it is florida.

Anytime I can spend some family time, it is good! Drove out here just for a little hiking and fresh air. There are four different trails; Spring Trail and Azalea were the two we decided on. Azalea is longer and more terrain than Spring Trail. We actually did a little of both, walking about a mile and a half - definitely walked off the morning pancakes! It does cost $5 per car to enter, or $2 per person to walk in. Loved the walk, enjoyed the company, and it was a nice drive from Jax, about an hour. Enjoy the peace and quiet!
C Rod — Google review
Wonderful place! My family had a great time, the azalea trail was fun but I don't recommend it for toddlers because of the stairs and roots but the paved road is a great place to walk with little ones, I'll definitely be coming back to finish the azalea trail by myself 🙂 overall a beautiful place!

I was in the area and found this on the maps and decided to check it out.
Wow, what a nice park. The hiking trails were great and the scenery was beautiful.
It was hard to believe I was in in Florida with the up and down of the trails. I would definitely come back.
The actual garden was nice but quite small.
Joel Smollack — Google review
This was a nice state park, a bit of a surprise. I spent more time here than I thought I would. Trails are well marked, two cool suspension bridges and the azaleas were blooming. Trails inside the ravine are hilly and you need to watch your steps carefully to avoid twisting an ankle. Worth a visit if in Central Florida, especially this time of year.

What a fabulous little place! We drove over here on a whim and truly enjoyed our time. Took a walk around the park, diverting to several paths. Saw beautiful flowers, cool suspension bridges and several small waterfalls. Definitely recommend a walk here if you are in the area. There is a nominal entry fee that can be paid by cash or online.

Did you know you can have weddings in Ravine Gardens? A friend recently asked me to officiate her wedding, and I was really excited to discover it was at Ravine Gardens. I loved it already due to the fun hikes and beautiful vegetation and so many birds, but to know you can have your wedding here? Perfect. What I noticed during the wedding: Pay attention to scheduling around pollen season! The trees were pollening left and right and several guests had allergies. Also watch where the sun is during different times of day. Keep your guest list small - parking can be tight on the weekends, especially if there's another wedding on the premises. But overall, it's a gorgeous location and very affordable. And if you need an officiant, let me know!

First time here and I really enjoyed it.
I hiked with a group of about 40 people on a beautiful Saturday morning.
The azalea trail was good, must pay attention or a fall is very possible.
So much lovely scenery for pictures. I look forward to going back!

A park we only recently discovered, but already went twice this year. Dog-friendly, so a great way to tire out any adventurous pups. Trail is one of the closer 'hiking' experiences you can have in Florida, with lots of elevation change. Great trip from Gainesville to spend the day hiking and maybe a picnic. Azaleas are also great to see this time of year. Even a rainy day is nice, just bring the shoes for it.

Beautiful! They have 4 different trails of varying difficulty. In my opinion even the hardest is not that challenging but it's about 4 miles long.
They have lots of tiny streams, outlook viewpoints, hanging bridges here. Plenty of parking is available inside the park as well as on the outside.
There's a children's playground inside. Restrooms are available at reasonable intervals. There's a golf course next to the park.
The streams can have gators in them!
They also have places to sit and have snacks inside the park. Fun place to spend about 2-3 hrs relaxing with your loved ones!
Ormond Scenic Loop is a lovely drive through the Florida terrain that offers a chance to explore the hidden gem of this state. While there were some concerns about flooded areas and snakes in some trails, it was still passable and manageable. The highlight of this scenic spot is the 2000-year-old Oak Tree that exudes long history through its bark. Visitors can enjoy rolling down their windows, taking in the beautiful scenery, and feeling peaceful kayaking on the estuary.
Wonderful mid-morning drive. CAUTION - there’s a part that was flooded when we went through, but it’s still passable and we had a rental so f😃ck it. The highlight of the day is the 2000 y.o. Oak Tree. We hung out there and felt it’s long history through its bark. The trail near it was full of snakes so, not so great. But all together magnificent way to spend an hour.

The Ormond Scenic Loop was a wonderful little drive through the Florida landscape. The only problem was figuring out where to go. I attached two pictures that helped us. Hopefully, it will save you time. Roll down the windows and enjoy this hidden gem of Florida while it lasts. This made me want to grab the kayak and explore the estuary. So peaceful!

Nice drive with views of tree lined streets, marshlands and the Halifax river. We stopped at the Seabridge Riverfront Park and ruins of a sugar and rum plantation mill. Going over the drawbridge and viewing John Anderson Drive where our dad was the mailman for 30 years was the highlight of the trip!

The St. Augustine Wild Reserve offers tours by reservation only, providing an intimate experience with a group of about 25 people. The reserve houses a variety of animals rescued from unfortunate situations, all well cared for and loved by the staff. Visitors can expect clean and well-maintained enclosures and detailed information about each animal from the tour guide. While walking shoes, water, and sunscreen are recommended, a golf cart is available for those in need.
I loved our visit today! Even though it was a crowded tour, they had several guides and didn't rush us. Sandra was a knowledgeable guide and we learned a lot. I highly recommend as it's a 1.5 hour tour that's up close to the animals and a good deal for $35. *I did not take these photos but bought them from them.

I loved this place, the attention of all the volunteers who work there was very good and the animals they have there are beautiful. The tour was very good, I highly recommend it. They don't let you take photos, just enjoy the beauty of these animals.

An absolutely amazing way to spend a Saturday afternoon. The animals are so beautiful and the reserve clearly takes great care of them. 5 stars will highly recommend to everyone. The pics are from their website and emails. They don’t let you take pics of your own but don’t let that stop you from going. Just enjoy the moment.

Tours are by reservation only but it was easy for us to find openings. Our group was about 25 people and was the perfect size. This reserve has many cool animals rescued from unfortunate situations. You can tell the animals are well cared for and loved by the staff; our tour guide gave details about every single animal. Enclosures are super clean and well-maintained. Make sure you wear walking shoes and bring water/sunscreen if it’s hot! There’s a golf cart to help those who need it. You can get really close to some impressive carnivores here! No pictures allowed but that helps keep the experience special! A better experience than some larger zoos.

Fantastic place, they are doing wonderful work. The entry fee goes directly to support he wildlife, and the staff clarly provide wonderful care for these animals. The tour was fun, informative, and I was quite close to the animals. The staff were helpful, and the tour was very well organized. Well worth the price, and really worthwhile organization.
Staff bring you right up to the animals, discuss each one, and answer any questions. They fed them during the visit, so it was very interactive. Some of the keepers have worked with individual animals for decades, and this allows them to interact with them closely.

This is a great experience in St. Augustine. Forgive my lack of photos for the review because photography is not allowed on the tour.
You must schedule your tour in advance so keep that in mind. They have a variety of wild exotic animals, like lions, bears, tigers, birds and more. They are all very well loved and cared for. There is a good variety of animals.
It’s a walking tour but it’s a small facility so not too bad. They have a golf cart that follows the tour for those that can’t stand very long.
The facilities are well kept and clean.

Highly recommend visiting!! I was within 3 feet of wild cats, bears, wolves, hyenas and more. Saw some of the most beautiful rare cats, hyenas getting their teeth brushed, felt a porcupine quill, heard the lions roar, the wolves howl, and so much more. The staff is fabulous and so knowledgeable. Their love for the animals there can not only be seen by their interaction with them, but it can also be felt. Absolutely amazing experience.

I am very much pleased with this facility! What stood out to me the most was it’s cleanliness. The cages were spot clean, smell free and even the animals did not smell. The staff were very friendly and our tour guide was very knowledgeable! I wish we could actually see the wolfs howl. There is something different about this wild reserve, we always had a golf cart so that people can take a break. There is at-least one other staff member to keep an eye an people and especially if kids wander off. Definitely a must go!

Amazing place, you can get a really close look at the animals if they're feeling "sociable", and most of them were. The group for the tour was pretty big, yet there was no problem getting a chance to see everything. We got to see how some of the animals interacted with their favorite volunteers, so cute! While you're waiting for the tour there are a ton of peacocks and other birds you can check out, so it absolutely isn't boring.

This was a well organized, educational tour. All of the volunteers were extremely nice and knowledgeable. The animals were well cared for and their enclosures were well maintained. A great experience. The guides took their time and offered a lot of background information for each animal we saw. Listening to the lions communicate with each other was remarkable. I've never heard anything like it. The work being done to offer these animals sanctuary after a hard start to life is admirable. You can see that these animals are loved and well cared for. This is a must do! The tour guides are so knowledgeable and you can see their heart for the animals immediately. Was an amazing experience so close to the the animals! I hate zoos and I like this because it’s a proper reserve. The animals are active and seem happy. The staff is very knowledgeable and eager to answer questions. The tour is more like a well oiled machine vs your average guided tour. While we didn’t have young children with us, I would hesitate to recommend taking your kids along. The staff have your safety in mind and that’s evident. The big cats are incredible. Some of the most beautiful animals I’ve ever seen in person.

Perfect CLEAN campsite right on the beach. Clean restrooms & showers. Had two washing machines & one dryer, $2.00 each well worth it. The dryer was very hot I was able to do two loads on only $2.00. Great place. I mainly use the park to launch a kayak and fish for snook and redfish. The boat ramp is in great shape, but it could be a little shallow during low tide. If you’re a bird watcher, that is also very good as well. Across A1A the park provides you beach access with clean bathrooms.

Beautiful campground, and amazingly located! We were at the beach every morning to enjoy the sunrise. The pad was perfectly leveled and made from rocks which keeps the area clean. The toilets/showers were A1 cleaned. The sites miss a bit of privacy, but it's the only downside in my opinion. The pavillons are nice to have a quick training under. We will be back. :)

So we camped in the River side. Sites are bigger and much more spaced out. Very quiet and very clean. Everyone was so friendly! One bathroom in the middle and had laundry machines. 2 dump stations. Nice area to fish. 1 nature trail. Beachside is very nice just sites are tight and seem short.
We went during bike week .. which we never knew about .. so all the beach restaurants were packed. Head more inland if you’re looking for smaller crowds at this time . Highly recommend.

Great campground to go to the beach and watch beautiful sunrises. Just a walk over the dunes to the beach. Walking distance to a great beach front restaurant (but check for days open). Nice nature walk in the river side part of the park. Bathhouse was clean and had nice showers. Only problem is that some of the sites and the road have standing water after a heavy rain. It drains within a few hours after the rain stops.

We stayed at site 46 and it is one of the few sites in shade. The park is nice and quiet. Can hear the waves from the ocean at night time. It would be nice if there was a playground for the kids. Wildlife wise we saw a possum one night and a bobcat run thru the bushes while walking back from the beach.

Terrific free beach access along A1A just south of the town of Flagler Beach; quiet, beautiful sand populated primarily by surf fishermen and beach-strollers, in a refreshingly old-fashioned, even retro, area. Adjoining state park ($5 day) boasts everything from kayaking to hiking to surfing, as well as great RV sites (water/elec) right in the dunes. Adventures to fill a weekend, easy.

Brief stop while RVing on our way to another State Park for the evening. The Park is divided by HWY A1A with the older side being near the beach/ocean. These sites are small and would be a challenge for any RV over 24' according to the Ranger on duty. On the opposite side is the newer RV section. Plenty of space for larger RVs. None of the sites on either side have sewer but there are dump stations. No wifi and we had 2-3 bars with T-Mobile. If you are just visiting, there is no real RV parking area. There is a small field near the end of the drive (newer side) where the Ranger allowed us and another rig to park temporarily. If you approach the Park from the North - Flager Beach, it will be a right turn. When departing, if your GPS says turn right on A1A be warned there are sections of the road that are prone to flooding. The first 10 miles or so from the Park are very narrow, no shoulder. There are trails for bike riding and a nice Nature Walk hiking trail. The Ranger Station has a small selection of Park specific merchandise.

Washington Oaks Gardens State Park is a well-maintained park that offers various outdoor activities such as hiking and biking paths. Its beautiful gardens and live oak trees provide visitors with plenty of opportunities for photography, while the picnic area is known for its beach and sightings of dolphins. The park also features a rose garden, ponds and streams, a large play area for kids, volleyball nets, picnic tables, restrooms and even a wedding altar available for reservations.
We loved walking around the grounds! We found this looking to kill some time before our Fort Matanzas tour. Only $5 for a day pass, so we came back later in the day to see the rest.
Beautiful rose garden, a plant sale in the morning, lovely little pond, huge beautiful old trees, butterflies and flowers. Gift shop has AC and cute locally made items.
Take water and a fan and bug spray if you do the walking trail. It starts out shady but you lose all cover as you get closer to the shore, and it got HOT! We did the bottom loop and came back along the old highway. Saw a lot of wildlife.

This is a much smaller state park than most I've visited. Grounds are nice...the gazebo and huge oaks especially. Water features needed some upkeep though; foamy, green algae and stagnant water smell/think pond water (off-putting, but not terrible). Keep in mind, it is Florida and high temperatures and high humidity makes it hard to keep up with the algae! The little bridges throughout the park had some loose boards also. Lots of benches to stop and rest on. Restrooms available also. Good amount of parking and a small gift shop. Drinks and small snacks available in the gift shop at very reasonable prices (name brand canned sodas just under $1 each!). I do highly recommend crossing over A1A and visit the beach side of the state park. The $5 entrance fee covers both sides of the state park. Nice parking area, about 20 spots, with two port-a-potty "restrooms". The beach is made up of sand and crushed seashell. Very clean. The infamous rocks are a short distance from the beach access point. The rock formations are extremely fascinating. Pretty unique for Florida, not something you see on most beaches throughout the state. Makes for interesting and beautiful landscape pictures or wedding/maternity/engagement/spiritual (as in, capturing the essence of you and nature). I really enjoyed the rocks. Swimming isn't recommended there; submerged rocks and no lifeguards. Better to just go north a little to an actual beach. So, in my opinion, I wouldn't travel a long distance just to visit the gardens and rocks. It would be better as a stop on the way back, or through, during your main trip.

Very beautiful garden and walk that I wish I could've seen the rest of. The staff however is 50/50 with their cordiality as one ranger in particular pestered us for being misguided by confusing directions we were given to see the Cocina rocks and instead happened upon an employees only area without realizing.

Amazing, peaceful, scenic and recharges the spirit! A gorgeous park! I love going here. Definitely recommend walking the park trails - it feels like you are in the jungle! So many photo op spots and a lot of room so it doesn't feel to touristy. They have clean outhouses too. The gazebo is a must stop for photos and to listen to the water fountains.

Five stars just because of 2 main attractions, Beach and Sighting Dolphins at the picnic area. Rest Park is well maintained, have Rose garden and lot of Oak trees ready to cuddle you in their shades.
Whole bunch of photography spots. They do have Wedding altar and allow reservations for photography too.
Quite enjoyable experience watching fishes in the little ponds n streams of water.
They sell flowers and other plants too from their greenhouse.
Have large playarea for kids, Volleyball nets, picnic tables, restrooms etc amenities.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. Truly a beautiful place where you can explore, run, relax, fish, take the kids for a stroll, have a picnic, or even a wedding! There was a beautiful small ceremony taking place there when I visited with my two little ones today. Facilities and grounds are beautifully maintained. Grounds overall are wheelchair and double stroller accessible, there is ample seating throughout the grounds, comfortable naturally shaded areas to picnic, pristine waters where a few people were fishing. This is truly a great visit and worth the time! It's beautiful background makes it perfect for both a romantic date or happy family picnic. 10/10 recommend! Admission includes the beautiful beach across the street and is only a flat $5. Definitely will be returning!

Beautiful place to spend some time hiking or enjoying the gardens.
However, the beach of the park was closed due to the aftermath of the recent hurricane. Additionally, some trails appeared to be a bit overgrown, presumably as a result of the same hurricane.
Despite these minor inconveniences, overall, it was a very pleasant experience

It's always interesting to learn about and see history. This park and it's beautiful gardens are very pleasant and interesting to walk through. Worth the visit just to see the wonderful oak trees!

What a beautiful State Park. Lots of big huge Oak Trees. A garden. I will admit it was a bit hot and I probably will go back when it cools down a little bit but what a beautiful place to go. Across the street was the ocean and the other side was the hiking. The hike was about 1.7 miles

This is NOT a swimming park. There is two entrances. The one to the right takes you to the beautiful rock covered ocean front. The sand is EXTREMELY shell pieces covered. You will want some sort of footwear to even walk down the beach. The rocks are not slippery for the most part but the waves can get very large and dangerous and there are lots of holes in the rocks. My 8 year old was able to navigate it easily by himself but several other kids there got too close and got banged up by rocks. The left entrance is to the gardens where you have to pay a fee to get in. The gardens are quite small and there is zero entry to the water on that side and the visitor center is very small, but it is well shaded and very pretty. Worth going to see once in my opinion.

This is a beautiful state park that is well worth a drive. There is a beach area annex with a large amount of coquina shells that the ocean tide splashes through.
In the main part of the park, there are hiking trials, a garden, a small museum, a playground, picnic tables, and plenty of clean restrooms.
The Gardens are absolutely beautiful, and a wonderful place to take a peaceful stroll and admire all the beautiful plants and their beautiful arrangement around the garden.
I saw a gift shopped at the park, but when I visited on a Tuesday, it was closed.
Dogs are welcome at the park. However, you cannot bring them into the garden area or on the beach.
This park does not offer any camping, but it is a wonderful place to spend the day.

The park has two parts: one with a nice garden and lake view and across the highway is the beach. There are a few trails that you can walk in the forest. Entrance fee is $5 per vehicle and you can can purchase is from the kiosk or drop off in the collection box. The beach could get really windy and chilly during winter time.

This is a perfect Florida experience. $5 gets you in the state park. The gardens are beautiful and I can't help imagining how it would look each season. Pack a picnic, bring fishing poles and your camera. To walk the beautiful and well groomed trails is only about 1/2 mile. Highly recommend. If you are lucky, you'll see manatee (we weren't lucky).

This park is a lovely walk through the gardens that borders the Intracoastal. (If you prefer a trail that is available too located closer to the entrance on the right.) There is a gift shop and bathroom across and next to the garden area. If you drive further down the road inside the park you will find bathrooms and picnic areas available. Dogs are not permitted inside the garden but are allowed in the picnic and trail areas.

Beautiful park with nice walking trails. Magnificent oak trees with weeping Moss and a flower garden. Quaint little gazebo with a wrap around pond. Large lake water fishing area located in the back of the park for boating too.

A pleasant little park for a picnic, a longer place to walk the dogs, and a nice garden area (no dogs). Part of the original section of A1A is still there that can be walked on also. There is a playground and restroom facilities at the south end of the park along with a museum building along one of the walking paths. A nice day trip.

Washington Oaks is a lively place to take a leisurely stroll through the woods, tour carefully curated flower gardens, fish, play, bike, and just exist with nature. The rangers and volunteers are lovely people and care deeply for their park, offering events open to the public and participating in local wildlife conservation. The public beach access across the street is also part of, and maintained by, the park and is a local sea turtle nesting ground that rangers and trained volunteers help with.
The restroom facilities are typical for a state park and are kept clean, parking is available in several parts of the park, and the entirety is very accessible.

Had a great walk throughout the gardens. We went a little early in the season, so the flowers weren’t all out, but the azaleas were blooming and the park is just gorgeous year round.

this was my second visit to Washington Oak State Park. Last time was in the spring and I wanted to see it in the fall. It was just as lovely and not as hot! A lot of restoration work is being done, and the groundskeepers are working hard every time I go. I went to the garden section 1st and then crossed the street to the beach side where I discovered a very interesting coquina formation. I had not seen the first time. It is a bit of a walk so you will need to wear comfortable shoes. The restrooms were clean and easily accessible as was the parking. Note~ lots of bees in the rose garden if you are allergic

Beautiful Sate park! If you haven’t gone go! Take a stroll along the water and fish 🎣 or bring a picnic basket to eat while you enjoy the views. I also saw that they do weddings and have plant sales periodically.

Encompassing forest and shore habitats, this well maintained and relaxing park has been a regional favorite for decades. The formal gardens under the oak trees are spectacular, and the pavilion seems custom made for weddings. A local garden club utilizes the lovely green houses here and offer monthly plant sales to the general public. Hiking, fishing and picnic opportunities are to be enjoyed here as well and the entry free is very reasonable.

Beautiful views. Well maintained garden. Beach back open. Plants for sale once a month. Can book your weddings there. Saw dolphins today. Been there three times over several years and every time the fountains were in clean and made the gardens near them smell. Butterflies and bees love this place and I can't blame them with lots of variety of flowers.

3/9/24: Met up with my friends here for the first time. She said it's "pretty". I will have to see about that! There better be something yummy here. Admission is 5 bucks.
Highlights:
1. Beautiful scenic view making wonderful backdrops for photoshoots
2. Nature trails
3. Plant Sale (today): ummm 🧐 I guess if you are folks who like growing and collecting a bunch of common, native, useless (non-edible) plants, then this might be a kudo. This is definitely not of my interest. 😂 No offense to the lovers.
4. Private public restrooms are clean
Cons:
1. It's a state park with no playground.
2. Definitely not kid-friendly.
3. No pets and no bikes allowed.
4. Rose Garden- They have the most pitiful looking rose garden.

Marineland Dolphin Adventure is a marine center that boasts one of the world's largest dolphin facilities, situated around 2 miles east in Sanctuary Bay. Visitors can engage with trained Atlantic bottlenose dolphins through interactive opportunities such as swimming. This destination has been attracting people since 1938 and offers an opportunity to get close and personal with dolphins, making visitors feel like children again. Additionally, Marineland Dolphin Adventure features rescued loggerhead turtle named Rocky who has a backstory that visitors can learn about.
My daughter and I had an amazing time at Marineland Dolphin Adventure. Everything was wonderful about our day: the Swim Adventure was an absolute dream come true for me.
Our trainer was Melissa (I believe) who was very nice, and we played with Dazzle the dolphin who was the cutest. She gave us a kiss, let my daughter touch her belly and fins, and gave me a ride on her belly. She was just so much fun to be around, we would have loved to stay with her all day 😍🐬
We also watched the Dolphin Talk and did the Sea to Shore viewing, which were also fun and interesting.
Last but not least, we enjoyed a beautiful view of the ocean from the dolphin habitat.
Thank you to the Marineland Dolphin Adventure team for this great experience!

Lies. All lies. No alligators. There is nothing there to see but dolphins and Only 3 of the dolphins were available. One big turtle in the entire park. When I questioned the advertisement, the sales lady pointed to the pictures on their wall!!!! I said what the....and walked off to maintain my dignity. False advertising!! THE flip side to this event was my granddaughter wanted to swim with the dolphins and although she is too young, only 5, the petting, touching, and picture experience she Truly loved it! But trust me, thats the ONLY THING TO DO HERE....SWIM WITH DOLPHINS, TAKING TURNS WITH 2 DOLPHINS AND A LINE OF OTHER FOLKS WAITING FOR THE SAME EXPERIENCE. I just said OH WOW!!

What a fun little facility! It feels like a place straight out of a 1969s film. We visited on a Thursday with zero crowds. Lots of people were swimming with the dolphins. It seemed like a really neat experience. We enjoyed the aquarium tour and turtle tour. The dolphin show was super fun! My kids will remember the chance they got interacting with dolphins forever.

Marineland is an aquatic habitat for dolphins and a few other animals to study. They have tiger sharks, turtles, eels, fish, and a other aquatic life. They specialize in dolphins and are one of the first organizations to train dolphins. We received a tour of the aquarium from Joan who was thorough and very knowledgeable. We had a great time visiting. The walkway to the dolphins is along the ocean giving a beautiful view.

I loved the experience purely because I loved meeting the dolphins. Overall though, I feel like once was enough. For the price you pay, you don't get a ton of 1:1 dolphin time. Altogether, you get 5-10 minutes because you share time with the other people in the group. However, you're out on the water for a good hour with everyone else. It was a fantastic experience, the employees were passionate and kind, and the dolphins were amazing. But I do have to say it wasn't a great value. Either way, I loved it and recommend it to any dolphin lover.

This was the #1 BEST experience. The trainers were absolutely wonderful! They were knowledgeable and made the experience more fun. If you're in Florida, you NEED to do this! If you want to feel like a child again, this is a great place to get up close and personal with a dolphin. Since 1938, Marineland has been a destination to see and swim with dolphins. This was a fantastic experience, not only is the animal life great the employees are too. We did the royal dolphin swim and it was great and very interactive. We had some unexpected personal issues pop up during this adventure (not related to the staff or aquarium itself), and the staff was very generous and kind to our needs and went over and beyond what we expected. Thank you Marineland for a wonderful chance of a life time and more.

Beautiful and enriching experience! We enjoyed learning turtle, dolphin, and marine life facts from Hannah and Ashley even though we went for the entertainment. We plan to go back for a swim with the dolphins experience. Definite do-over.
Plus Ragga Coffee and the Marineland Preserve are right next door!

Meh- it was okay, my husband and kids did the dolphin encounter my children are 6 and 7. The lady that was doing their session was boarder-line rude. My kids are excited and were talking and she said something to the affect they needed to be quiet because she couldn’t hear herself think….maybe get another job not around excited children? One of the children (not mine) swam left instead of right and she kind of shamed him
From not knowing his left from his right..again an excited child.
The experience itself was fun but that particular trainer was off putting and for the price tag I would expect some understanding for little paying guest.
Also not sure why they insist you arrive an hour before hand… I thought surely there was some info time or video to watch. Nope just alot of nothing with kids who were already excited.
Pretty views to walk to the dolphin area, changing area and bathroom were very small for the amount of people.
Whoever the manger is is a nice and
We had a good customer service experience with her on the way in.
Would I return…probably not. If I could
Do it over would I do it again. …Also probably not.

Absolutely fantastic experience. The trainers are very knowledgeable, helpful, kind and accommodating. We were early and due to the rainy, chilly weather there weren't many people there so they took us on a personal tour of the aquarium. They also, despite the downpour and winds, still tried to do a dolphin show for us. The swim was amazing and I got to try some of the hand gesture commands first before going in the deeper water to do some swimming with the dolphin. Thank you to all of the staff here, you are all amazing!

Fort Matanzas National Monument is an 18th century stone fort constructed by the Spanish on a salt marsh. The monument offers visitors an opportunity to take a boat ride to the fort and enjoy nature walks where they can observe numerous bird species. Visitors can learn about the area's biology from friendly rangers who possess extensive knowledge of the region. For anyone in the region or locals who have not yet visited, it is highly recommended that they explore this beautiful reserve.
Great visit to the Fort Matanzas National Monument! Make sure you arrive early to receive the boat ticket. They have a great nature walk where you will see many types of birds. The ranger on our tour was very friendly and had lots of knowledge about the area biology! After the boat ride to the fort they had a very nice volunteer worker that was doing a nature walk tour which was great we saw many birds including some Roseate spoonbill! I highly recommend anyone visiting the area or any locals who have never been check it out!

The actual Fort is accessible only via the Ft. Matanzas Ferry, and under guidance of a park ranger. It is off limits to kayaker and others who happen to be out and enjoying the area.
There is no entrance fee, however, and the ferry ride is free. Best to arrive early, as ferry tickets go fast. Under the current pandemic guidelines, ferry capacity is reduced.
I think everyone would enjoy a visit here. Tip: watch for sea turtles and other aquatic life while you're out there.

Great piece of history and a hidden gem. Entrance is free but you need to arrive before 11am or there won't be any tickets available for the ferry ride to get to the fort. Parking is also limited so you will more than likely ride around waiting for a spot or park down A1A and walk to the park. Definitely worth the wait and walk, was a great experience for the kids.

I've always loved coming here. One of my favorite places in St. Augustine and a good little hidden gem. Tickets are free and include a beautiful ferry ride to the island. The fort is smaller than Castillo de San Marcos but somehow feels like it has more charm. There is a trail you can walk after. Remember to wear sunscreen and pack a water bottle!

The grounds at this park were nice. It is a well maintained facility with clean bathrooms. I only gave it three stars because I missed the main attraction of this park....the fort. If I ever get back here I will update my review. They have six ferries that leave out every hour beginning at 9:30 and I think they may fill up fast. We got there at 3:20 on Saturday afternoon and the last boat was full...bummer. But there is a a nice little hiking trail. Oh, and they have vending machines. If your in the area and can get to the fort it's probably worth a visit.

Last ferry leaves out at 3:30, I'd suggest getting there early to get free passes bc they run out quickly and space is limited. There's a nice nature trail that will take about 30-45 minutes to walk before or after your tour. And btw, no pets are allowed on the tour/ferry.

The grounds are nice, but I made a HUGE mistake. I didn't realize that I should get ferry tickets in advance, or at least be there early enough to get a (free) ferry ticket. When I got there the all ferry rides were full.

This is a great fun little side trip if you’re spending the day in the area, even little kids will find some interesting things to see and do. The fort itself is small and they give you about a half an hour or so to check it out, lots of authentic gear there as well. The ferry you have to book in advance, it can fill up quick on the weekends and holidays. It’s a short, maybe five minute ride across the river to the fort. The rangers are enthusiastic, friendly, and filled with knowledge per usual, all in all it was a great way to kill an hour or two. There is a small winding shady walking trail next to the parking lot, which leads out to A1AA1A, where you can cross over to the beach.

The Fort is free and is reached by an equally free ferry provided by park rangers. The whole thing is just over an hour, but a great use if that time. The 500 yard crossing is very attractive and can have a wealth of bird life on view, including ospreys. I loved the atmosphere of the little Fort. Note that it is first come first served. Ferries go on the half hour and if you are not ticketed by 20 past, expect it to be full. There is nothing to do for the hour if you miss the ferry except go to the nearby very exposed beach. There are a visitor centre (more a little bookshop really)and rest rooms though.

This free tour was so informative and so much fun. We arrived at 10:10 and got tickets for the 10:30 tour. You are able to talk down to the water while you wait on the boat. Our national park guides were so lovely. The fort is beautiful and the boat ride to and from were good.

Beautiful and historic free park - really friendly, helpful staff and knowledgeable rangers!
The short boat ride and tour of the fort are quick, so don’t worry if you don’t have a whole day to spend here - you could do it all in under 2 hours. There’s also a short nature trail to Matanzas Inlet - another free, cool spot nearby.
We also saw some dolphins and typical cool Florida birds. Oh, and a lot of jellyfish actually.
Tip: get your tickets early even if you want to do to the tour later - it’s not uncommon for all tickets to be given out by the middle of the day.
Great time - we’ll be back.

2024-03-23: Fort Matanzas National Monument is a well-kept piece of history. The fort was built in 1742 by the Spanish to protect against enemies from using Matanzas River to enter St. Augustine. The fort contains relics, cannons, and the Spanish flag is flown. The National Park Service ferries people via pontoon boat to the fort for a guided tour. Be sure to get tickets early due to limited capacity. Trips are hourly from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather-permitting.

Loved it! We didn't realize the ferry goes only once per hour on the :30, so we showed up 5 mins before. We went to the office and they only had 1 ticket left. So, we were bunmed and walked toward the water, and the ranger there asked his buddy in the boat if there was room for 2 more. He said yes!!! Thanks, Rangers!
Ferry ride was 5 mins, and the fort, though small, was really cool! If you're physically able, I'd suggest climbing up the ladder and going on the top of the fort. Nice views and fun! It's a 45-min round trip excursion and I thought it was great!

It is free and pretty nice. A short safety before gettong on the boat is given. Then off you go. The 5 minutes ride is smooth and when I went it was a beautiful day. There were dolphibs but I didnt get to see them. The fort is small and when we got there a short history talk was given. We had abput 10-15 mins to explore and gwt up to the watchtower. It was a extremely short time and felt rushed but that may be because they are trying to preserve the structure.

Cute but short stop for a fort. Fort is accessed by a ferry which is free and ran by the National Parks. It was running every 30 minutes when we visited in Oct. We did not go out to the fort due to time constraints but I'm happy we stopped. Small gift shop on site and restrooms are near the parking lot. Lots of outdoor space including picnic tables and some trails to explore, one trail was closed during our visit due to construction. Birds were around and even saw a turtle. Mosquitos are everywhere too, bring bug spray.

Pros:
*Free entrance
*Kid-friendly
*Free ferry ride to the watchtower
*Excellent, free guided tour(great humor and really helped us to immerse ourselves in the time period)
*Not too long! The ferry ride is about 5 minutes. The tour of the watchtower was about 45 min.
*Excellent photo ops with cannons
*A dolphin was spotted!
*Several birds were pointed out(blue hering, osprey, pelican)
*Jellyfish were spotted during the ferry ride.
*Junior Ranger program earned my kids a fun badge with the fort's name on it. Just ask, and they will provide your kids with a free book/pencil to complete the assignment to earn the badge. It was a fun activity for them to complete on the ferry ride there and back.
Cons: Ferry tickets are free, but they are first come, first serve and only available in person(not available online or over the phone). We came yesterday, but all of the times were full. So we came first thing this morning and had our pick. If you come from out of state to see this, make sure you arrive when they open to secure a ticket.
You can bring an umbrella if it rains.
Thank you to all who provided a wonderful experience for our family!

The fort is very small and the ferry ride is very short over to the fort. The visitor center is also very small. They have nice restrooms near the parking lot and huge beautiful old oak trees and a picnic area. There is no grounds to explore around the fort. You have about 45 minutes to see the fort and can take the ladder to the top to see the roof but it’s a very narrow opening at the top of the later. Must be able to navigate the tight opening. We had a 5’10” ish 190lb 65 year old grandpa with us and he was barely able to get down the ladder. The rest of the fort is accessible to everyone by stairs. There is a small beach area you can explore but full of oyster beds so are only able to explore the shoreline.

This monument is very cool. You get to go on a ferry ride across the way to the monument. Our guide, Caroline, did an amazing job explaining the history and relevance.
We saw dolphins and other wildlife on our way over. Definitely kid friendly. Not wheel chair friendly. Steep stairs and ladders.
Definitely climb to the top, up the ladder, and look out. It’s amazing something built in the 1700s is still standing today.

I’m not a drinker, I am a light weight and I only went here so I could take my husband…. So glad I did! I took the shot samples like a champ and enjoyed the drinks and the experience just as much as my husband did. The gin and tonic mix was the second shot we took and it was delicious!! We bought the gift box to take home! This was the best stop on our St. Augustine trip! Thanks St. A distillery!

Neat place with lots of interesting historical displays and information about their distilling processes with plaques, pictures, and displays. We did a self-guided tour through the distillery which was quite adequate for our time frame and very informative. If we'd had more time we would have called ahead to arrange for an in-person guided tour, which I'm sure would have been excellent. Staff is friendly and very approachable if you have questions; they clearly take pride in their place of work.
The various tasting stations are a nice touch and certainly add to the experience. The varieties of bourbon, gin, and rum, as well as the ready-made mixers are delicious. (Suggestion: Eat something beforehand. The samples aren't huge, but they are fairly potent on an empty stomach! 😉)
There is also a store which offers for purchase all the various products from the distillery, with a tasting station so you can sample what you're thinking of buying. All very low-key, there is no pushiness to get you to buy anything, they obviously know just how excellent their products are!
The restrooms are very clean and roomy and ever so quaint - worth a visit, too!
Accessibility is good and there is ample parking around the building.

This was one of our stops on trolley ride. We opted to pick up the next day and not having to walk around with our purchase.
Free samples were definitely a treat. No pressure, just sample, and you can come back the next day. ID is required.

One of the top distilleries that I have visited in the US so far. You begin the tour with signing into an iPad, then you start with your tastings of vodkas, gins and bourbons. Upstairs the bartender Nick was very knowledgeable on all of their products and made great suggestions on what to buy based on my likes.

I recently visited Saint Augustine Distillery and had an amazing time. The highlight of my visit was the free whiskey tasting, which allowed me to sample some of their fantastic products. The employees were extremely knowledgeable and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable.
The staff members at the distillery were not only passionate about their craft but were also well-informed about the various whiskey options available. They were more than happy to answer all my questions, providing me with in-depth information about the production process and the unique characteristics of their spirits.
Moreover, the welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the distillery made me feel at ease throughout my visit. The employees created a warm and inviting environment, which added to the overall enjoyment of the tasting experience.
I highly recommend visiting Saint Augustine Distillery for any whiskey enthusiast or anyone looking to learn more about the art of distilling. The combination of a free tasting and the expertise of the staff made for an unforgettable visit. I will definitely be returning to explore more of their offerings in the future.

This is a small craft distillery that has only been in operation since 2014. You can do a self guided tour that is free and includes 4 tastings of mixed drinks like a mule. They also offer guided tours for a fee. The advantage of the guided tour is its bourbon forward, you hear the history of the building and the business, and you get to try a pour of two expensive bottles. We have been to 12 other distillery tours and I still learned a few new things. Larry was a fantastic host! We got to sample their flagship bourbon, one finished in a wine barrel, an aged blend, and a single barrel. We also got the keep the glasses! I believe a person in a wheelchair could do this tour because you only move from the tasting room to the adjacent room. We enjoyed our experience!

What a great experience this was! The tour is free and self guided so take as long as you'd like. Each area has a tasting station which have samples that they're promoting. All of the samples were great. Even better is that at the end they let you try whatever you'd like that they sell. All of the staff were very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about their company. A must visit when going to St. Augustine.

I highly recommend the paid tour, it's only 35 dollars. Patrick(?) was our bourbon educator and man did he deliver some incredible information to us. It was a one hour class on information that we should be aware of when it comes down to picking, tasting, and understanding the complexities of what makes up a bourbon. Great job! The class was not rushed and very well paced. We were celebrating my mother's 70th birthday and the team even signed a card for her. Everyone received a glencairn and was thoroughly educated on how to drink from it. In all, a great day to drink bourbon and thanks for making Mom's birthday a whole lot more fun (she was a huge fan of the port finished bourbon).

The St. Augustine Distillery Spirit of Florida Bourbon Experience was Excellent! We went on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail last year and saw some great distilleries but having this quaint and beautiful distillery in our own state of Florida is fantastic. Melody was our host and tour guide and was very knowledgeable about everything Bourbon related especially when it came to the distilling process. We tasted 4 of their different bourbons and enjoyed each one. The "Saint" was our personal favorite because we love old fashioneds so much. Finishing off this bourbon in a barrel of their own old fashioned mix was truly an amazing idea! We bought 2 bottles of Saint, but know that this was not an inexpensive bottle at $200. (we did get a $35 off coupon for the tasting tour). The tour of this small distillery was informative and fun with Melody showing us the complete process. Of course the gift shop was the last stop and we took advantage of more Bourbon tasting with their version of an old fashioned. We had not been to this distillery since they added bourbons and only knew them from their vodka, rum and gin but were VERY pleased they have added these delicious bourbons to their line of spirits. A Wonderful Experience and Must See if you are here in St. Augustine!

A decent distillery in St Augustine.
We came to check them out and were really excited to do a tasting and check out their stuff. Someone in our group did the tour years ago and said it was great.
This time there was no tour and the tasting was lame. As someone in our group said to the person who said it used to be great "glad I didn't have to pay for it or I'd want my money back"
There were a few mixers to try and you could look at their room where they explain how it's made. You don't actually get to taste their stuff and get information about anything worthwhile.
If you have little to no experience or expectations for how it's made you might enjoy it, but as we have been to distilleries all over the world there wasn't enough going on to be worth the trip.
The staff were super friendly and they have a nice bar upstairs, but you can drink elsewhere for cheaper with a better variety.
Still, a decent place.

Fun place to visit. Great history and very knowledgeable staff. Great setup and tour. Good drinks at each stop and we had a lot of fun as a small group! Definitely recommend stopping by this distillery! Even if you only drink one type of spirit, try them all, it might surprise you!

My girlfriend is a bourbon drinker and booked this tour on our visit to Saint Augustine. We were immediately met by Clark and once in the private room, he proceeded to provide the experience. He did so with a passion and fervor that I haven't seen in a very long time. He spoke intelligently, factually, answered all the questions perfectly. His knowledge and understanding of the process and his use of facts was super impressive. He made this tour very special, welcoming and kept us interested and engaged the entire time. What an amazing experience and I hope anyone that has a chance to visit gets Clark as the experience guide (as he explained it was a combination of tour, history, and facts - an experience). The gift shop patrons were also very welcoming and friendly. What an amazing experience and Clark, thank you for making this one of the great highlights of our trip.

Nice short tour through the Distillery with tastings. If your over 21 make sure you have your ID with you. Nice rustic building to go through. If I were to go again I would make time to stop at the restaurant to try food and more drinks.

Excellent distillery and a very unique way to conduct a tour. The tasting stations with cocktails makes it a useful tasting and showcases the products. The gift shop is amazing and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Loved this experience and I’ve toured about 50 distilleries, including most on the famous bourbon trail. Top notch!

Yesterday was my sons 32nd birthday so we made a family trip to the St Augustine Distillery for a Bourbon class and it was amazing. I highly recommend it. So much fun as a family. Clark was so knowledgeable on Bourbon and he was funny as well. We also made our own bottle of Bourbon when the class was over and that was an amazing experience as well. You bottle the bourbon, cork it and label it with your signature and shrink wrap the top. I recommend this experience as a gift or fun family weekend trip.

My husband and I went on a day trip to St. Augustine and visited the distillery for the self guided tour. It was a great experience from start to finish! We enjoyed learning the history of the building and distillery plus ALL the staff was absolutely amazing....very welcoming and knowledgeable. The cocktail samples were a tasty treat with the mule and old fashion above expectations. We were pleasantly surprised when we were able to partake in an experience guided by Clark with The Saint Bourbon and food pairings. Clark did a great job making the experience entertaining and educational. After the tour and experience, we visited the gift shop and indulged in our favorite cocktails supplies to enjoy at home!

The coolest tasting and educational experience ever! This was my first introduction to bourbon and woooooweeeee I sure felt it! Sarah was a wonderful educator and very informative about the history and process of distillation. The gift shop at the end of our tour had many great items to purchase! Since our arrival for the tour was early, we decided to have a glass from their bar upstairs. Another cool place in the establishment!

St. Augustine Distillery will NOT disappoint and have a memory to last a lifetime. Larry was fantastic for the tour and tasting and KNOWS his bourbon. Nicholas made my one of a kind single barrel bottle pour SO special and was such a blessing to meet him. He went above and beyond to share his passion for what he does, what goes into making bourbon and both men were fantastic!!!
A hidden suggestion: Go to the 4pm booking cause it's the last one of the day and they can spend more time showing you stuff, behind the scenes and won't feel rushed.
* My suggestion if you can do it 👍🏼😊
Thank you and made a 50th Birthday, bourbon 🥃 lovers day a VERY special one ❤️🙌🏼

Had a great time at our guided tour yesterday. Clark was one of the best tour guides I’ve ever had, not just for a distillery but of any excursion or activity I’ve done. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate which made the tour just that much better. Highly recommend the paid tour for everyone. Highlight of our trip to St. Augustine and my wife and I come here once per year for a weekend for the past 5 years. Oh and all the bourbon we tasted were absolutely amazing. Thanks for the great experience

Everyone was very friendly the free samples you got were tasty even their merchandise shop at the end was great. They had plenty of variety to choose from if you wanted to bring home something for yourself too or as a gift, will definitely be back on my next visit to Saint Augustine.

One of my all time favorite places! You can’t beat the experience. These are very nice, award winning, high quality spirits. The staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable. I recommend doing the tasting tour. It’s free and takes 10-minutes tops, but it’s a great way to sample the spirits before committing to a bottle. The Saint is our favorite bourbon and the gin is a close second. Their mixers are absolutely delightful - fresh tasting, low sugar, and wildly versatile - we love the hibiscus and old fashioned. I honestly can’t say enough nice things. Run don’t walk to the best distillery in Florida!

Even though the distillery is small the tour and tasting were one of the best we have been to. My daughter and I have done the entire Bourban trail tour in Kentucky and just about completed the craft tour in Kentucky. Also have ties to Bourbon industry in Kentucky. Anyway our guide definitely showed he is a Bourbon Steward also in giving the history of Bourbon and the standards as well as the brief history of distilling in the State of Florida. I will admit they have a good bourbon product as well as a vodka and rum, my daughter and brother liked their gin, gin is not for me. Everyone we met was more than gracious as hosts. When you are in the area highly recommend you take this tour as well as visit the attached restaurant.
Flagler College is a private liberal arts college located in Ponce de Leon Hotel, which was built in 1888 as a luxury hotel. The architecture was designed by John Carrere and Thomas Hastings, who worked for Henry Morrison Flagler. The college features beautiful grounds and stunning buildings, including the Ponce de Leon Hotel's famed dome and dining room with its 79 Louis Comfort Tiffany stained glass windows.
I toured Flagler College and downtown along with my brother. Architecture of this college is fabulous. Some of the detail is absolutely remarkable. Nice tour available without ever stepping foot on the property. Plenty of photo opportunities. I’d like to see the inside of some of the buildings at some point on a later more in-depth tour.

Explored this college during our trolley tour—it's a Flagler creation from nearly a century ago. 🏛️
The architecture is breathtaking, and the Tiffany windows in the dining hall are so intricate that they're insured for a whopping $130 million. 💎
The main building features a charming courtyard adorned with beautiful decorations. 🌿✨

This is a review of the old hotel, not the college. The college does have a good reputation and seems like a great place to go to college. But, as to the facility, you can walk in the lobby and check it out, but best to make a reservation for a tour. Make sure you spend some time in the dining room. It's incredible.

By far my most favorite tour in the entire city! Our tour guide was a lovely freshman named Leah and we had a very unique tour with cool observations and obscure little nuances of Henry Flager himself. It is a MUST to check out the college as a tourist or maybe a hopeful college student.

The Flagler College area is absolutely beautiful. The Spanish architecture is breathtaking. From the terracotta roofs to the red iron gaits and railings, this place is eye candy. Walked around and looked at the various hotels and other various buildings, all the same style and flair. When you tour the downtown Saint Augustine area, venture a little further down to see these sites.

Taking the free architectural tour at Flagler College was absolutely fascinating and beautiful! It was like time traveling back to the Gilded Age where conspicuous luxury and customized environs and decor knew no bounds. Learning the history of the visionary team behind the project and the short amount of time this hotel was completed yielded many surprises for us!

Had the special privilege to be on the 2pm tour of Flager College which started its life as the Flagler Hotel. Built to be the Newport of the South, the most incredible thing is all the original Louis Comfort Tiffany stained glass windows. The entire property is jaw droppingly beautiful. Right now only 2 tours a day. One at 10am the other at 2pm. Adult tickets are $15 and worth it.

Visited for the afternoon historic tour. This facility is simply stunning. It’s very existence is pivotal to what we now know as modern day Florida. The tour was interesting and hosted by one of the attending college students. While she did get a bit “tour-guidey”, she had some great insight into the main building’s history. The tour itself is just over an hour and takes you into some rooms you wouldn’t be able to see otherwise. A small portion of the tour is outdoors, so weather could be a factor. Our tour guide did a fantastic job picking a nice, comfortable, shady spot for our outside stop. If you’re in the area, and looking for brief afternoon activity, then you can’t go wrong with a historic tour of this campus.

The Pirate and Treasure Museum is a fun, family-friendly place to visit that houses an incredible array of pirate artifacts. This museum is located in the city of St. Augustine and has been a favorite with tourists since it relocated to the city from Key West in 2010.
This museum was awesome! Informative, educational and hands on fun. Find the hidden treasure markers throughout the exhibit and claim pirate treasure at the gift shop. Seriously if your gonna spend the money go here and see the cool exhibits that are interactive .

If you’re looking for loads of family fun, I highly recommend the St. Augustine Pirate museum. There are numerous interactive historical puzzles, scavenger hunts, audio stories, and hidden treasure to be discovered! The museum has authentic pirate artifacts ranging from weapons, treasure, tools, flags, clothing, and lots more. The staff is very kid friendly, the museum is throughout a pirate ship so you never lose the feeling of being at sea with your first mate. All in all, great for family fun, my daughter absolutely had a blast, awesome Hollywood pirate display, and they have a lovely gift shop.

I accompanied my son and his school on a field trip to this museum. We were assigned a guide who accompanied us throughout the tour, explaining each part of the museum and helping us understand its history. At the end of the tour, there is a gift shop where visitors can purchase souvenirs or other items related to the museum. Overall, the guided tour greatly enriched our experience and provided valuable insights into the museum's exhibits. The availability of a gift shop adds to the convenience and enjoyment of the visit.

Perfect for all ages. A nice air-conditioned place to learn about the pirates. They offer a treasure hunt game, have lots of activities for all ages, computer games, knot tying, cannon, story rooms to listen to the pirates, helm, and videos. Real artifacts of gold, silver, muskets, swords, cannons, and a real-life 400-year-old treasure chest. Must see and do with the family. The staff were even dressed in costumes. Very well done.

We went with four adults and one teenager. All enjoyed it. The artifacts and displays were great. It was absolutely amazing how the displays were truly played into the theme and not just a box to look at. There was so much to see! Some displays were even formed to look like chests and be on theme. The theme was carried out so well. Easily one of the best organized museums and most on theme that I have ever seen. It was great!! There is a free scavenger hunt and the items you find are great. Two of our adults did it and finding the items really added to the experience and made you look at everything. Be sure to do the listening booth, but be aware it may be too scary and gory for kids.

The most impressive "exhibits" where the historic documents, letters, and journals, that were surprisingly legible! Kids will like some of the interactive props scattered around the rooms. Firing the cannons was a hoot!

A fun and informative jaunt into the world of pirates. Of course there was exhibits on the most well known pirates, but I also really enjoyed learning information about pirating related to the local area. A huge plus was how comfortable it was on the inside, a nice and cool diversion from the St. Augustine heat. My family lazily made it through in about 30 minutes. All children over 13 pay adult price, which made the price tag for our family of five feel a little expensive for what we got.

Fun museum! Some interesting artifacts to look at and plenty of history to learn of. Enjoyed learning of the lives of Blackbart and Drake, among others. Kids ages 9-15 enjoyed it. They have plenty of interactive exhibits. Like barrels with smells and you try to guess based on the smell what cargo the pirates were carrying! Also my son enjoyed hoisting up the jolly rogers flag! Neat audio drama you can listen to as well and hear pirates sword fighting and hunting for booty. Parents of young ones should beware though. There are some parts that might frighten younger kids. A decapitated, yet talking pirate head is hung high on a noose. Plus a life size, black, gruesome skeletal corpse is in a cage. Overall, we enjoyed it. And the gift shop is worth perusing as well.

I thought this place would be cheesy but it was the opposite. It was so cool and fun and educational. Castillo de San Marcos National Monument is a historic fort that offers self-guided tours, showcasing its drawbridge and gun deck, as well as providing stunning views of Matanzas Bay. This masonry fort, the oldest of its kind in the country, was constructed to safeguard Spain's territorial claims in Florida following pirate attacks during the late 1500s.
As cool as the first time I saw it as a kid. A great visit for fans of history and for kids! There are lots of ranger led activities around and all of them are a ton of fun while being very informative. Parking is difficult, but there is a lot of street parking along the waterfront if the lot by the fort is full.

One of my favorite forts! This location has so many interesting places to walk around and check out throughout the whole fort as you learn so much from every place you look in! I managed to come in for free on National Park Day so definitely take advantage when it happens! Make sure to arrive on some days where they demonstrate a cannon launch! It’s an experience I would never forget! Definitely bring your national park stamp book if you have one to get the stamp!

This was amazing! The fort is so cool and preserved very nicely. The park rangers were happy to answer questions and sharing interesting tid bits. We have a park pass so we got in for free but I still think it would have been worth the price.
Lighting was withing the 5 miles or whatever it is when we got in so we couldn't go to the top for a bit. We took our time on the ground level and read all the signs and explored the top as soon as it opened. I wish we could have gone on a night when they shoot the canons off. That would be such an amazing thing to see!
I highly recommend going, you won't regret it.

This was quite an interesting place to visit. So much history here. We have a 4th grader so we we’re able to get in for free. You can get into any national park for free as part of a program for 4th graders nationwide. The displays were all very informative and the staff here was super friendly. There is a scavenger hunt game that is great for the kids. The views of the harbor and the Bridge of Lions were incredible. Parking here in the afternoon can get crazy. We had to drive around the parking lot a couple of times to catch someone leaving. You pay per hour to park but we took our time and we’re there just about 2 hours.

As a point of historical significance, the reference and homage pair to this fort by the staff and local community is apparent from the ticket gate. The actors that interact with the public are very impressive with the attention to detail and period knowledge they exhibit and the cannon firing demonstration is a must see.
Nearby parking is very limited, but the available public transit and flat walkways make for a quick commute from wherever you can find a spot. The first floor and exterior are accessible to most mobility disabilities; and while a very shallow staircase prevents wheeled access to the ramparts, those with limited mobility in their legs should find a fairly easy climb.

They were closing up when we got there but it was still pretty cool. It was a lot like Fort Independence in Boston so a lot cooler if you haven’t seen forts before. The grounds were very nice and people seemed to really enjoy the surrounding area as well. You can walk around the outside for free or get tickets and go in.

What a treasure! The National Park Service has done a fantastic job to maintain and develop this 300+ year old monument to colonization history. Parking on the grounds is really cheap at 2.50 per hour. It took us 3 hours to see and enjoy everything. The admission was 15.00 per person BUT I used my senior pass and got in for free. Well worth the one time charge to visit all 400 national parks. You can get into many restored rooms and listen to the excellent stories from the park rangers.

If you visit just one place in St. Augustine it has to be Castillo de San Marcos National Monument. The history, the architecture, the location. It's spectacular. There is so much to see in every room and a lot of information to read about the history and the lives of the soldiers, prisoners, settlers, etc. The cannons are a work of art. Just to be around something that has been built in 1500-1600's and is still around is incredible. You can easily spend a couple of hours there. There is also a cute gift shop. There are a lot of volunteers that will gladly answer any questions you might have. I wish we had our kids with us, they would have loved to tour it.

This was a very neat place to visit. It’s huge and there’s lots to do and see here. You can’t come to St. Augustine and skip this attraction. Do be prepared for lots of walking, and big crowds to be around. We weren’t there a single day that there wasn’t a massive crowd. I recommend getting there early in the morning to get in line for tickets.

Stopped at this gem on the way back from Orlando. Ended up being my favorite thing on the trip by far.
The ambiance of the landmark is spot on. The beautiful, light-blue water coupled with the local Florida wildlife makes for a great sight. In addition to that, the preservation and appreciation for history makes you feel like you’re in the time period. They even fly the Spanish flag - accurate to the period of its founding.
The landmark also provides excellent information to truly educate about the fort’s history and founding. You also have quite a bit of freedom to explore; most rooms you can look around and (the best part) you can walk on top of the fortifications.

This place is awesome and great to see where it all started for Central and South America countries and Florida. It is a Federal Monument so Veterans are free along with 4 guests. Parking in Augustine can be a challenge, unless you park in the free public parking garage across the street and it is still within walking distance to everything. It's a tourist area but the shops and restaurants are really good and there are plenty of them. It is a beautiful area!!

A well preserved Spanish fort in St. Augustine, the oldest continuously inhabited city in the US. It's part of the National Park system, and for those with a National Park pass, entry to the inside of the fort is free. Also, access the the area all around the outside of the fort is free to everyone. Scenes of life in the fort is recreated in several areas. Various canons and other equipment/supplies are on display. There is a small gift/souvenir shop (National Parks stamps available) just inside the fort entrance. Great views of the city and waterfront can be seen from all around the upper level of the fort wall. Although there is a paid parking lot on the grounds ($2.50/hour) parking can be a little difficult to find at peak times. This isn't a large fort, so one to two hours is plenty of time to see the whole thing. The spaces are large enough for large camper vans and smaller (class C) RVs. Our 22' van fit within the space markings. There are several small spaces for motorcycles . There are no oversized spaces in this lot, but there is a free parking lot for all sizes of RVs just a few blocks to the west (No overnight camping allowed). Overall, if you are interested in military/colonial historical sites, this fort is definitely a place to visit.

My family had a fun time at Castillo to say it was not a planned trip. It was like getting a fun history lesson of the fort. We spent about 1.5 touring the rooms of the fort (this will vary person to person). I would recommend going on a cool day as we did. In summer I assume it can get hot and the crowds of people.

What an amazing piece of history! It is absolutely worth the visit. I recommend bringing the kids to so they can learn some history but also come alone because you can read all the info posted throughput the fort because you realize all this historic time capsule has been through. I am amazed every time I visit this place that it is open to the public and you can walk through such an incredible time capsule.

Wonderful place!
A beautifully preserved antique, well-kept and authentic. The love and care of the staff is immediately visible.
A very informative exhibition, we walked around for two hours, looked around and read the explanations, just wonderful.
It’s good that there are many excursions for schoolchildren, children study real history using real buildings and exhibits, and this is wonderful!
You are unlikely to see so many ancient cannons in one place anywhere else.
A beautiful bay with Parisian trees and fresh sea air complete the picture.
Thank you very much!

This past weekend my boyfriend and I decided to come to st.Augustine for the weekend so I could show him all my favorite places. The Castillo was number one on this list. We both love history, so I knew he’d fall in love with the place as soon as he saw it. I honestly think it exceeded his expectations. He’s already planning for our next trip back! Aside from it being a magnificent pierce of history, it also helped that all of the staff and the rangers at the fort were so kind and helpful, and it really made an impact on him. He was stunned at how informative everyone was and how genuine everyone seemed.. I explained to him that St.Augustine isn’t like all the other “touristy” places. Especially not the Castillo de San Marcos. People here genuinely love this town and it’s structures, and they are excited to show it off to whoever is willing to listen. So thank you so much to everyone at the Castillo for making this trip memorable one for us! We can’t wait to come back!!!

Truly one of a kind. It’s a must-see in St. Augustine! The staff, dedicated volunteers and city have done an excellent job with preserving this jewel and making it fun and educational for all visitors! The view from the top part of the Fort is incredible. This was such an interesting attraction. After leaving this establishment you simply feel closer to history.
I’ve visited as a child and now as an adult….and it’s always enjoyable!

I've come here many times since the late 1960's when my father first brought me. I remember having a souvenir Spanish cannon from here as a child and It's always worth the trip. St. Augustine itself is pretty touristy, but it's a pleasant way to spend an afternoon and send yourself back in time to the days of forts, castles, and dangerous adventures. Take your kids so they take away the memory of a lifetime and maybe a Spanish Cannon.

Great historical site that is rather unique. It is $15 for adults while under 16 are free. Military and veterans can get a National Park pass for free with proof; that gets three adult guests in with you also. Nice views of St. Augustine from here. Parking is $2.50 per hour.

Just an absolutely lovely place to visit.
The site is steeped in a rich history.
The views of the surrounding area and the city of Saint Augustine are beautiful.
It’s worth a visit, even if you don’t pay for a tour; you can walk around the property.
It’s especially nice at sunset.
Grab some ice cream in town and walk the property and enjoy the sights and sounds of the city of Saint Augustine~

An amazing and historical monument in the original and oldest city of Florida. So much depth of history that you need to really take your time enjoying each section. The views are stunning. Park Rangers are very informative. Try visiting on a "cool" day if that's possible! The park also has parking but it's on a first-come first-serve basis. Bring a good pair of walking shoes and water and enjoy!

A truly exceptional monument. The graffiti in the barracks alone are world class social history - Spanish sailors and soldiers, then US, and imprisoned Apaches too! Views are great. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable. The Firearms display is very well done.

Samantha Brown's Places to Love was spot on with this feature attraction. Make sure to add to your list of things to do. Well kept by the National Parks and Recreation. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. It's very scenic. Park staff is very friendly. Must see if you're in the area. Active and retired military discount. They will register you in the database for Gold Star and military membership to visit ALL National Parks.

Definitely worth the admission especially if you can time it around the cannons being fired. But, there are plenty of historical markers if you just want to walk around it. Also a beautiful place to sit and watch the sailboats or picnic on the large lawn. There is limited parking, but a large paid garage is across the street. They have nice restrooms and a small museum.

There is a dizzying number of tour options in St. Augustine, and you can quickly part with a ton of $$ because there’s an entry fee for just about everything. The Castillo is one of two historical attractions that I think are a must see** because of its uniqueness and its long history.
Built in the 1700s by the Spanish, it is the largest and oldest “concrete” fort in the US, and it is almost entirely intact. It is fascinating to think about the fact that the fort has been utilized by Spanish, British and American military forces over the centuries, reflecting Florida’s unique and varied history.
There is a decent self-guided tour inside the fort, and if you’re there at the right time, you can hear “first-hand” accounts from actors dressed as Spanish soldiers. This believe they also fire cannons on Saturdays, but we were there during the week.
You can also walk around the outside of the fort and go on top of the fort to see the cannons in place, as well as capture beautiful water views. This is a truly unique glimpse into one facet of history in our country’s oldest (continuously inhabited) city.
(**The lighthouse and museum is the other attraction that I would give 5 stars to.)

My family loved visiting the fort! The history is great and the exhibits inside are informative. We enjoyed seeing how the soldiers lived (my teenage son especially liked the explanation of the toilet system) 🤣
The sights of the water and city from on top the castle walls are neat to see. If you have a chance to hang out, make sure to see the cannon fire demonstration. Parking might be tough if the lot fills up, but it’s not a far walk from the parking garage at the visitor center.

Me and my family went here it was amazing. this is my second time here. We got to bring my parents this time for Arkansas they came to visit so we took them here to the oldest city in the United States of America to see the most prettiest fort and Georgetown Road. We got to see some amazing stuff and learn amazing history about this fort. We also got to watch them fire the Cannons at the ships which was pretty cool. It's amazing what people went through. This place is a a must see if you love history.

Had family members come to visit us from California, we took them to Saint Augustine—the oldest city of USA. They were so happy to see the fort and to know some history of our country…we got there around 10:00am during the weekday, plenty parking spaces, but saw people were waiting for the spot to park when we got out of the fort, city needs to build more parking spaces. Thanks to the people who manage the monument and keep it nice.

St. Augustine is a charming old town with a plethora of culinary delights. The Castillo de San Marcos is an incredible sight to behold, steeped in history and architectural beauty. One tip I highly recommend is to thoroughly research and plan your visits, ensuring the places you want to explore are open. The castle closes after 5 p.m., so it's essential to schedule your visit accordingly.
Visiting during the Christmas season adds an extra layer of magic, as the town is adorned with festive decorations, enhancing the overall experience. Exploring the Castillo de San Marcos during this time truly captures the spirit of the holidays and the rich history of the area. Don't miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in this fascinating destination!

Fascinating history with great displays. Blistering hot day - just like when we visited Fort Ticonderoga in NY a couple of years ago - we seem to pick 'em for those fort tours! Would have been nice to have a guided tour - was tempted to listen in on the guides for the kids' field trip tours.
The St. Augustine Lighthouse Maritime Museum is a fascinating collection of artifacts from the history of the lighthouse and its keepers, as well as a look at the many shipwrecks that took place along the coast. The tower itself is stunningly beautiful with amazing views, making it an ideal spot for photo ops.
A must see when visiting St Augustine or the area! It's a short drive from the more central area of the city, which was a great break and gave us a chance to drive over the bridge of lions. We didn't visit the park, only the museum, but the area was lovely. My 9-year-old and I did the full climb to the top of the lighthouse - if you can swing it, do it! There are 8 landings and the windows are open so it's nice and breezy in the right weather going up with time to rest. If there's a line, it'll go quickly - they can only allow so many people in at once so it's most comfortable for everybody. There are cool facts and interactive elements and progress marked on the way up. The entire museum area is awesome, especially loved the shipwreck exhibit and the on-site shipwreck artifacts conservation lab (my son's favorite part!). Lots of great historical facts and displays.

The St. Augustine Lighthouse was absolutely amazing. My sister and I went here with our family for our birthday. Everyone we talked to who worked there was so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The lighthouse was beautiful and such a cool experience. We also enjoyed visiting the lighthouse keepers' houses and grounds and seeing what life was like for the lighthouse keeper and his family in the 1800s. When we got to the top, the view was absolutely amazing. The volunteer at the top, John offered to take our picture and encouraged us to come back up an hour later to see the sunset from the top of the lighthouse, which was beautiful. He walked with us back down the lighthouse, chatting with us the whole way and even wished my sister and I a happy birthday. All of the volunteers/employees were also very friendly.

Beautiful day to go to the Lighthouse. My 3 children and I had a good time climbing to the top. My youngest tried to race everyone lol. The staff are knowledgeable and will answer questions. It's supposedly haunted and I'd love to come back at night for a tour. The view from the top is amazing. The steps are worth it. There are landings for those who need to catch their breath or slow down. Highly recommend.

Any absolute delight. Has History, souvenirs, antiques, archeology and more. More than a museum. Don't be intimidated if you have mobility handicaps. Staff is wonderful to make doable suggestions to make those with canes or walkers welcome and comfortable even if climbing stairs is physical limited. Restrooms available in several convenient locations. Many kid friendly things including pirate ship playground, outdoor play area with games and a trail that promotes hands on learning. Climb to the top of the lighthouse or enjoy the view from a comfy seat. Be sure to appreciate the landscaping and Florida foliage as well as the lighthouse keepers garden. The Tin Pickle is the stop for a hotdog, muffin, brownie, soda or a cold beer. We watched men building boats on site. We watched and archaeologist work on items retrieved from ocean dives. Be sure and hike the trail that goes behind the lighthouse. See the lush native plants. Enjoy the huge trees covered in Spanish Moss. Well worth the money and wonderful history lesson for kids of all ages. Staff is beyond helpful and kind.

Amazing evening in st. Augustine's lighthouse ghost tour. If you're into ghost tales of events that happened of a housekeeper lighthouse Inn. It's an amazing 2-hour tour on the historic ground at the existing lighthouse that is still in use today. Off the shores of Florida on the Atlantic coast is a lighthouse that has been used since the 1800's. The tours are guided for 2 hours. It is all outside so be prepared to still be hot and deal with mosquitoes. You can walk to the top of the lighthouse. It is dark until you get closer to the top with a light that will come on. It's 219 stairs to the top. But the view of the whole tour is well worth it.

Great historic lighthouse and surrounding campus with plenty of period hardware and historical information. The 219 steps are on a spiral staircase that has eight landings with windows and/or factory boards so you can rest while learning or enjoying the view. The lighthouse and the rest of the buildings/grounds are in excellent condition. The outside observation deck, just below the light housing, is the highest level you can go and you can see for miles, looking down on St. Augustine. Overall, pretty good experience. This place does get crowded, though, (especially with children!) but that’s to be expected of any attraction in Florida. The actual lighthouse has a pretty long line because of the crowd, but it didn’t take long. View was good. Got good pictures. Good piece of history.

The place is great, a really wonderful experience. There is a height limitation for children, so if you have small ones, bring another adult so you can take turns going up the lighthouse. It's a really beautiful and well kept place that offers a lot to see. The water is walking distance away and is beautiful in and of itself. Really enjoyed the experience with my family. I look forward to going again soon. The experience will also be nicer when my daughter can go up the steps.

This was a lovely impromptu stop! The views from the top were gorgeous and expansive and the climb up (although nearly 219 steps) was very manageable due to the benches you can sit on the way up and how well made the stairs are. The building has just been recently renovated and it looks amazing! Each of the exhibits in the separate side buildings were also meticulously maintained and informative. We spoke with several staff members who were extremely friendly and helpful. Overall an incredible place to visit and affordable! Come support historical St. Augustine

A fun, unique experience. Nice views from the top obviously. Be aware if you have kids that for safety reasons there is a height requirement to go up and you aren’t allowed to carry anyone up (or down). There are some unique trails around the property as well including a maritime hammock to explore. There’s also a pirate ship playground for little kids who can’t go up.

I think I did this review on my phone and am now editing because I didn't give quite enough detail. The lighthouse itself is fantastic to see and we've been here a few times. You have to have purpose to make the climb, though, LOL! The breeze, and view, at the top make it worth it. My husband always has a bit of a height thing when he climbs. But the staff we encountered while we were there were fantastic! One of the fountains was broken, and it was a very hot day, and I was looking for a place to re-fill my water bottle. The lady that was standing at the entrance to the lighthouse did not know one was broken, and made sure I knew where the closest functioning fountain was. We were sure glad to find it since it was July in the hot south!

A Beacon of History and Wonder: St. Augustine Lighthouse
Nestled on the picturesque shores of St. Augustine, the St. Augustine Lighthouse stands as a timeless sentinel of history, guiding generations through the annals of time. I had the pleasure of visiting this magnificent structure just last week, and the experience left me in awe of its rich history and undeniable charm.
A Glimpse into History
The St. Augustine Lighthouse is more than a towering beacon; it is a living testament to the past. Stepping onto its hallowed grounds, I was transported back in time. The lighthouse, with its distinctive black and white stripes, has a history that spans over 140 years. It has witnessed the ebb and flow of time, bearing witness to countless stories of sailors and seafarers who depended on its light to navigate treacherous waters.
As I explored the meticulously preserved keeper's house and surrounding grounds, I was enveloped in a sense of nostalgia. Each step I took felt like a journey through history. The exhibits within the museum provided a fascinating glimpse into the lives of the keepers who tended to this vital beacon, often braving the harshest of conditions to ensure the safety of others.
The Ascent: A Journey to Remember
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the climb to the top of the lighthouse. With each step up the spiral staircase, I felt a growing sense of anticipation. And when I finally reached the observation deck, the view that greeted me was nothing short of breathtaking. The panoramic vista of St. Augustine, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Matanzas River stretched before me like a canvas of natural wonder.
From this vantage point, I couldn't help but reflect on the generations of mariners who had relied on this lighthouse to guide them safely home. It was a humbling experience to stand where they once stood and appreciate the significance of this towering icon.
A Lasting Impression
My visit to the St. Augustine Lighthouse was not just a journey through history but a memorable encounter with the enduring spirit of exploration and discovery. The lighthouse and its surroundings are a testament to the dedication of those who have worked tirelessly to preserve this treasure for future generations.
As I reluctantly descended the staircase and bid farewell to this historic gem, I left with a profound sense of gratitude for the opportunity to experience such a remarkable piece of history. The St. Augustine Lighthouse is more than a tourist attraction; it is a living embodiment of the past, a beacon of light that continues to inspire and captivate all who have the privilege of visiting.
If you find yourself in St. Augustine, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to this iconic landmark. Prepare to be transported through time, to stand in the footsteps of keepers and mariners, and to witness a breathtaking view that will linger in your memory for years to come. The St. Augustine Lighthouse is not just a destination; it's an unforgettable journey into the heart of history itself.

A great place to visit while in St. Augustine. Around $15 admission for adults. Children under 12 and seniors slightly cheaper. Lots of historical material to read and watch. Lighthouse views from the top are well worth it.
We spent over an hour here on a Monday afternoon. There were a lot of parking spots but not too many left. We purchased tickets inside and traveled the grounds. Several smaller buildings and the lighthouse provided lots of interesting information. 219 spiraling cast iron steps to the top can be challenging for some. Landings along the way for those who may need it.
Recommended for those who enjoy history.

This is a beautiful and well done park and museum! Driving in at night was a little spooky due to the lack of street lights but GPS did a great job and took us right into the parking area. That lack of street lights was very apropos, making the illuminated lighthouse itself more starkly juxtaposed against the dark sky and surrounding area.
The front porch of the museum was a relaxing place with nice Christmas decorations.

Beautiful grounds, friendly and dedicated staff. The evening sunset tour was breathtaking. The climb up the many stairs was nicely broken up by different exhibits in various levels. The view from the top was spectacular and it was nice that they allow as much time as you want once up top. Our tour guide shared plenty of stories of the light house’s history….and also provided us with some of the ghostly tales associated with the place! (I was disappointed that I missed the ghost tour a day earlier and our guide was so kind and accommodating). I can’t say enough about this lovely pace and it’s awesome employees!

I visited back in January and climbed twice! I was the first one up for the day I went, I arrived pretty early but I was really excited.
The staff was there to help guide me. The climb was really nice, with large landings with informational signs.
Since I got there really early, I enjoyed the quiet exploring of the other buildings on the property. I love history but have a hard time focusing if there is a lot of background noise from other visitors. That's why I go to places right when they open!
Overall, I had a great time and I'd come back to climb the lighthouse again!

This is a very cool location and well worth the admission fee. We were running late during our visit so we plan to go back during another visit. This time, we wanted to be sure to see the actual lighthouse.
I decided to conquer my fear of heights today so I went to the top. I must say it was worth the climb.
The staff was VERY friendly and I especially enjoyed speaking with the nice lady at the top today. She was very knowledgable and kept me occupied while I was stressing over the height of the lighthouse.

I didn't visit St. Augustine expecting to conquer one of my greatest fears. I'm extremely fearful of heights, but visiting the lighthouse and all its splendor was on my list of things to complete in St. Augustine. I don't know what I was thinking, walking in. I guess I expected to visit a closed off lighthouse or maybe walk a few steps and complete another historical bucket list. But no, the lighthouse in its glory, standing tall and proud, shared its soul with me. It really is a sight to behold and take in. I was able to reach the top and rotate the walkway, thanks to the help of an amazing staff member and my lovely boyfriend, who was the catalyst for me even wanting to go to the top. He never once lost patience with me and held my tightly gripped hand with enthusiasm and love. I never caught the worker's name from today but bless his heart as well. This man went above to help me through my fears. I'm sure he's had experience with this sort of situation because he was amazing at keeping me focused. I'm thankful for such a beautiful experience to share on my 3 year anniversary with my boyfriend, and to the experience, for allowing me to keep growing as a person. This museum is well worth the visit, don't hesitate!!

It’s so amazing how this place has evolved through the years. 1) if you are a Light House junkie… this is one of the more easy light houses to climb. There are landings to rest on multiple leveled. 2) I live they have their own building for gift shop and a solely made the LightHouse Keepers house the museum. 3) staff is super friendly and helpful. 4) love the added outbuildings and exhibits. My aunt got married at the light house 30 years ago. I have come to visit it several times since I was 12 and now I’m almost 40. I love seeing how it’s been maintained and grown into the historic venue it is.

It was a wonderful experience atop the light house. One has to climb up more than 200 stairs but the view from up there is worth it.
We went there on a Thursday and the place had a decent amount of crowd. It has multiple museums mentioning the history of the lighthouse, US Coast guard and shrimp industry.
You have lots of places to take good photos from and they also have a gift shop. They have kids play areas, and also good places. There's something for everyone. Entry is relatively cheap too!

The Barnes & Noble allows dogs, and a few of the restaurants have outdoor seating arrangements! A great place to spend the day.

Great shops! Parking is a nightmare. They close WAY to early. Especially on the weekends. Not sure how this decision was deemed a good one. 🤔 They decorate for Christmas yet close so early I'm not sure how anyone can really enjoy it. Several restaurants here makes closing early yet another reason to stay open later to shop after eating. Beautiful place to walk around and stroll if you aren't grabbing dinner first. Br prepared there is a LOT OF WALKING from parking to shopping and back. Trying to get from one store to another on opposite ends on top of it. All before closing is something to take into consideration.

Wow, shoppers paradise. We just played tourist and had dinner and a walk and it was very impressive and pretty at night. Clean and safe. I've never seen so many stores!

In Florida's delightful winter weather, this open-air mall is truly amazing. Discover a wide range of brands and enjoy a play area for kids a fantastic idea!!!

Awesome shopping center. They have stores for every class. I can always find what I need at one of their many stores. It's always clean, and the stores are well stocked. I'm really excited about the Marshalls we just got. Parking is plentiful, but you probably won't find one in front of the store you want if you drive down the main streets. You may have to walk, but it's a beautiful center.

I love going here. It has a lot of upscale stores but also, it has stores that are very affordable. There is a great variety of restaurants as well. Something for everybody. It's outdoor, so if it rains, or when it's cold, be prepared. I could spend a whole day here and be good lol.

The Town Center used to be one of my favorite places to shop and dine out. It has gone downhill lately and several of my friends and family members have mentioned an obscene amount of trash in the parking lots and dying vegetation. I hope they will turn it around because this WAS a nice place.

Nice place but it's a little on the pricey side. It was nice to walk around and look at things that you can't really afford. But it was nice and a small nature area

There are a lot of different people out there. Given that there are so many people it's not pleasant to see that there seem to be too many people who don't care or at least don't seem to care. Some who think they are entitled and better than you. Some are in a rush. Some are just plain rude. Others, who knows?
From staff in different shops and restaurants to customers of all types all over in and out of different places, you will meet many types of people. I usually mind my own business, but I like to have conversations with genuinely nice people I may meet.
Not everyone is bad, but let's be real, some are. Some people are great and I have had the pleasure of meeting some great people, but there are way too many people who act I'll mannered or lack respect. I have better things to do with my time than have to put up with those kinds of people and there are plenty of other places to shop, but alas there are some not-so-nice people all over. Just some have more than others.
If anything I have said offends you then you have mistaken what I am pointing out from my perspective or you might need to take a look in the mirror because you are probably either, condescending, pretentious, or too self-conscious.
At the end of the day, no one knows what anyone else goes through. We all have our battles. Our struggles. Be grateful for what you have. Be comfortable being you. Try to treat others as you would want to be treated. You don't even know when things might change for you. We are all only human.

Very busy shopping center. You name the store it is located there. It's a outdoor mall with plenty of restaurants as well. A nice place to go on a sunny day. Park, walk around, eat and shop. Price of some of the items were very reasonable. People were friendly. The sales clerks are friendly and helpful. With such a large parking area I thought it was going to be easy to find a parking spot but I was wrong. I went on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon the parking area was packed but the stores wasn't overwhelmingly crowded. I was still able to shop and get the service I needed. The sales clerks was helpful and not pushy or rushing.

This place is ENORMOUS!!!! Pretty much the mall of all malls. Plenty of parking. Navigating to other stores is quick and easy considering parking and driving grid. It is also surrounded by many MANY restaurants to satisfy absolutely ANY flavor your palette desires!

Lots to see! People watching is a must.
It was my first time to the town center. I went on an interview. Lots and lots of amazing stores. I'll go back again for sure.

I visited the Xfinity mobile store with my wife and had a blast. The associate Efrain attended us with exceptional patience and knowledge and the crew there are friendly and customer oriented. We’re definitely coming back!!👍👍
