How long is the drive from Whitefish to Regina?
The direct drive from Whitefish to Regina is 580 mi (934 km), and should have a drive time of 11 hrs 24 mins in normal traffic.
If you’re going on a road trip from Whitefish to Regina, we did the research for you and compiled some great stops along the way — with Glacier National Park and Waterton Lakes National Park, as well as top places to visit like Bowman Lake and Highline Blvd, or the ever-popular Bigfork Summer Playhouse.
The top cities between Whitefish and Regina are Glacier National Park and Waterton Lakes National Park. Glacier National Park is the most popular city on the route. It's less than an hour from Whitefish and 11 hours from Regina.
The park is home to towering mountain peaks, crystal-clear lakes, and miles of hiking trails that allow visitors to get closer to hundreds of wildlife species. The park was christened the 10th national park in 1910 and is located in Northwestern Montana in the Rocky Mountains.
What a majestic place!
We spent 7 days in this wonderful national park and we enjoyed every single minute. Going to the sun road is amazing and very reminiscent of Switzerland. The campgrounds are full in August and make sure you reserve you camping spot several months before your trip. I saw multiple cars driving around looking for a camping spot with no luck. If you love hiking, Highline trail is beautiful for sight seeing and observing the wild animals. The hike can take 10-12 hrs depending on how fast you are and on the hike conditions. We did in August and some spots had snow on the ground due to recent snow storm. Also, you can park the car at the end of the trail and take the shuttle to Logan pass and start the hike there. Make sure you check the shuttle hours since they vary. In addition, keep in mind that going to the sun road is closed from September til early June. My favorite part of the park is the Many Glacier side and we stayed at the Swiss Lodge which is worth to stay at least one night if they have availability. There is another gorgeous hike from many lake to the glacier but you need to take the boat pass or wake up earlier and hike two lake before you get to real hike.

This has to be one of the best national parks EVER. There is so much to do, with over a hundred miles of glaciers, waterfalls and more. The campgrounds are very shaded and are VERY popular so book your site in advance! No matter where you stay or what you do Glacier National Park, it is breathtaking for all.

Glacier is truly the best national park in the country, hands down. The beauty and wildlife speaks for itself, I’ll let the photos do that job. But what Glacier does best is traffic maintenance. They do a phenomenal job managing the reservation and permit process in order to keep the beautiful landscape pristine and free of crowds. I know people get frustrated with the reservation competitiveness, but it’s a necessity for a park this popular, and they really do it better than anyone else. It’s fair and accessible and easy to do if you know what you’re doing. We never had issues getting campsites or vehicle reservations and we went in peak season.
This place is massive and you could spend a lifetime exploring it. We spent a week in east glacier and a few days in west. East is better by far. Better hikes and scenery, more wildlife, and no crowds. But the amenities of of the west were nice. Grinnell Glacier is a must do hike, and you must take a dip in the glacier lake. We will definitely be back.

The 15,000+ reviews speak for themselves. You want to experience this gem of a National park while the glaciers are still here.
Notice that all negative reviews are from visitors who have not spent a minute researching the proper procedure of entering. We have made several cross-country road trips and have entered and exited the park many times without ever having a problem. The National Park Entrance is open 24 hours, all year round, and will give you access to the Going-To-The-Sun Road from the west side. This is one of the most epic routes in the country, so you don’t want to miss this! HOWEVER, you need to book an online reservation to get in, and the slots are open from May 27 to September 11, 2022. This is a simple procedure that is done online. Do this, and you won’t have a problem entering.
The entrance fee is about $35, but we recommend the annual National Park Pass, which is $80, because you can enter unlimited and visit all National Parks. Both are very fair prices for such a unique experience and important place for our environment.
Also, bring water, food/snacks and a sun hat. You can easily forget time and wander the entire day.

First time to Glacier National Park and it won’t be the last! What a beautiful place to see. So many hiking trails, waterfalls, pullover lookouts. Great place to bring a bike. Great place to camp. It’s a bucket list must see for anyone who enjoys the beauty of the planet we live on. Amazing place.

Glacier National Park is absolutely breath taking. If you love nature and hiking, you have to visit this place once in lifetime. It is mainly a hiking park but if you are not a hiker, you can still visit it for a couple of days. Going to the sun road is amazing and you need reservations for it. Even if you don't book it months in advance, they book a few couple of days in advance. You can stay in whitefish and drive to the park if you don't find any accommodations in the park. Whitefish has some good lodging and dining options.
Kaushal Dixit — Google review
Amazing mountains and views and lakes, even though you don’t see a lot of “Glaciers”! You MUST have a vehicle registration to get into the park, in addition to paying to get in! This has to be done on-line the day before, and you are not guaranteed to get one! If you done get one, get to the park well before 6am and the gates are open, and while it’s an early morning for you, it gets you into the park. Once in, go to Logan’s Pass. There are some great hikes from there (hidden valley lake trail) but the parking lots fills up very fast! The Lake McDonald Lodge is cool to stay at, eat, or take a boat ride. Also, boat rides leave out of Sunrise by the St Mary’s visitor center. The visitor centers do not have food. Bring your own food and drinks in a cooler in your car! Consider taking the bus that takes you throughout the park. It’s a hop on, hop off bus and saves you the hassle of parking if it’s crowded!
Go and enjoy the spectacular views!

Pictures don’t do this INCREDIBLE destination justice. It is absolutely breathtaking and unbelievably beautiful! It’s an incredibly special spot for me too as my husband proposed to me at the top!!! We went in mid September and it was the perfect time to go. Be prepared to be in awe with each turn!!!

This place is amazing, the mountains are unbelievable. Would 100% go here again. On the drive, we saw multiple mountain goats too, so that was really cool. It is additionally very fun to hike at, and some of the views are just amazing. 5 Stars, would go again.

Wow. Truly breathtaking. My absolutely most favorite park, ever. There are not enough pictures that could describe the beauty this park holds and is. There are so many waterfalls, hiking trails, and gorgeous scenery, that you can spend a week here easily. The west side of the park looks like the pictures, and the east is a bit more dry, but still gorgeous. Very highly recommend. If you don’t want to pay the park fees, you can enter before and after hours as well! (Check their website if they are still doing this) At the top, there is a very popular trail, but the parking lot is very full quickly, so be prepared to go very early or after hours if you want yo get a good parking spot. They do not allow dogs on trails though, so keep that in mind if you travel with yours. Overall amazing park and experience.

The park was incredibly crowded when we visited in mid-July. It was almost impossible to find parking at any location after 8 am. Arrive very early if you want more ease in that respect. We had a little haze from the Canadian fires, but other than that, it was absolutely spectacular!!

Its on the top of the list among the National parks I visited. Grinnell lake overlook is a must must hike, would definitely come back for it.
Other things we did were going-to-sun-road, Avalanche lake hike(trail of ciders), hidden lake hike, motor boat at lake McDonald.
Its a must visit place, with all majestic views everywhere.

One of the top National Parks, absolutely amazing. Beautiful views, scenic vistas, towering peaks, has it all. Road to the sun is a great drive, but do it EARLY! We started at 6am and had no problems finding parking or stopping to take pics. On the way back, by 10am, everything was packed, no parking.
Don't forget the car pass and bring snacks and water!

This is one of the best national parks I have ever been to. It’s so beautiful and the timing was just so perfect as we went during the beginning of fall colors. The snow just started on the mountains, the white mountains, fall colors , water green trees and some bears. Will be back here sometime so that I could see the place more beautifully
Manmith Reddy — Google review
Stunning beautiful mountains and lakes! We were fortunate to be able to take the Going-to-the-Sun-Road which is almost a 50 mile drive each way. It reaches a height of 6646 and is a narrow two lane highway cut on the mountain sides offering panoramic views of the valley below and the jagged opposing mountains shaped by previous glaciation. Every turn seems to offer a must see perspective, so take your time, pull over and take it in.

An absolutely dream come true! I always dreamed of visiting Montana and it did not disappoint. I was shocked at how clean the state was. It was pristine and awe inspiring. Although I am afraid of heights, I trekked up the mountains and was left breathless with wonder at the beauty of the scenery. We have nothing like this back home in Delaware. If not for all my family living on the East Coast, I'd pack my bags and move to Montana in a heartbeat.

Such a diverse NP! Absolutely beautiful! Climate varies at different levels of the park, so be sure to pack a jacket no matter the season!

A MUST see!!! Absolutely gorgeous!!! So much to see! Great for all ages! Every part of this park is absolutely stunning. So many beautiful views, colors and great photo opportunities. So peaceful and serene, very clean.
The Waterton Lakes National Park in Canada boasts of both prairie and mountain landscapes, abundant wildlife species, and diverse vegetation. This unique national park has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, an International Peace Park, and a Biosphere Reserve due to its different habitats such as prairies, forests, tundra, meadows among others. It offers breathtaking views of the Rockies that meet with flat prairies, a stunning lake and castle on hilltops.
One of my favorite National Park. Not as busy and more quiet than other National Parks in Alberta. Nice variety of trails for all to enjoy nature. Beautiful lake and cute village to wind down and relax.

Beautiful! What more can be said. So many amazing hiking trails. Family friendly or more advanced. Lots of washrooms available at many different trails heads or near one.
Amenities in the town are great. I've always had friendly and good service anywhere I've gone, be it a restaurant or a shop. Great picnic spots and day use areas around a beautiful lake.

A lovely park with some epic views! We recommend Cameron Lake, Bear's Hump Hike, and the views from the Prince of Wales looking back over the water. If you leave here and drive north - make sure you stop at the Grumpy Goat for some great ice cream, too..!
Ryan Smith — Google review
A place for short getaways and serenity with few options of meals within the area but no fast food chains. However there are good fried chicken, ice creams and burgers around. All within walking distance. Get a cruise down the shoreline for an amazing view of the mountains on the Waterton lake or drive a little downhill to explore some creeks and lakes or to Prince of Wales hotel for an eye opening view.

Oh my goodness! In the 30+ years I've lived in Alberta, I'd never been to Waterton until recently....and WOW! What a wonderful place to explore. There are so many hikes and trails and gorgeous spots to experience. It's a must see for locals and tourists alike!
Pictures are from the village of Waterton as well as Cameron Falls.

A must! This is a magnificent national park full of amazing pockets of beauty.
We went during the last half of September and seeing the park in autumn was simply jaw dropping. The changing colours of the leaves against a backdrop of rugged mountains, calm lakes and blue skies was like walking into a postcard.
At this time, early Fall, there weren’t many tourists which gave us a more comfortable and relaxing stay.
We spent a week here, making it our home-base while exploring other parts of Alberta. 2 days or overnight would also be good if you can’t stay any longer. A day trip to Waterton Lakes National Park would be too short a visit. This place has so much to offer.
There are many hiking trails around from easy short ones to the more challenging trails, one can select whichever is preferred.
There are many coffee shops and restaurants as well in the area, which makes taking a break or having a good solid meal ideal after a hike.

Certainly one of the best of the national parks. Plenty of things to do and gorgeous scenery. Also home to one of the best, if not the best, hiking trails in Canada. This park definitely is a must visit.

A beautiful place for few days trip.
The lake has clean water but beaches are full of pebbles n rocks so I would recommend to take pair of slippers or pool sandals to use on beaches or in the lake.
Few places to visit in the national park n few activities to do including biking, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, horseback riding etc.
Many times you will spot wild life too.
definitely, worth of a visit if you like water, mountain n nature.

This park is one of my absolutely favourites to visit in Alberta. The lake is gorgeous and it doesn’t matter where you choose to go in - all spots are fun for swimming. I enjoy the Main Street with the shops and restaurants. I don’t find it to be as busy as other national parks *cough cough Banff* so I feel that you get to enjoy without constantly having tourists around. Red Rock Canyon was a fun stop for the kids to splash around in nature. We will be making a yearly summer trip out as I can’t get enough!

Waterton National Park is a must visit destination. The beautiful park has many trails for hiking with much breathtaking scenery. Taking the boat tour is another great way to see more amazing views of the mountains on the Waterton lake. We went later in August, the weather was pleasant but very windy. The town's amenities are great, though the town was busy, it wasn't saturated with people.

Beautiful and stunning national park. I could go hundreds of times and still not get sick of it. Their ice cream shop was amazing. The boats were even better. I recommend if you got some spare money you should go on the boats. Just incredible pictures.

We were personally greeted by a friendly volunteer. It turned out we were the only ones staying that night and it was a truly special experience.
The mountain and meadow views were lovely. The campsite was spacious.
There was a flush toilet, no water and no power. There were a few big buildings with picnic tables.

Only stayed here for two days, and it was better than I remembered. My last visit to this place was almost a decade ago, and I remember being bored just being here. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see many wildlife and did not do the available activities, but it was superb nonetheless. My recommendation is to bring a raincoat, jacket, and water. I would also recommend bringing equipment for hiking as well as for kayaking. Out of the three Alberta National Parks, this one is at the top despite its size. Will visit again for the hiking trails and kayaking.

It's an amazing landscape of flat land and mountains with scenic beauty. It's a must visit park to explore the landscape. If you are fortunate enough, you can spot a bear enroute red rock canyon. Bison spotting is fine too..

Highly recommend this park for summer and fall adventures. It is best experienced then. During the winter it really becomes a ghost town, but if you like cross country skiing, fat biking or winter hiking this is a good place to come in the winter too, and especially to experience the high winds this place gets.
But, for me summer is best!

Waterton Lakes National Park
We had wild fire smoke during our visit, hence the haze, but the views were incredible.
Waterton National Park, established in 1895, is Canada's fourth national park and part of the world's first International Peace Park with Glacier National Park. Together, they celebrate peace and cooperation between nations.
We had an unforgettable adventure crossing borders from Glacier National Park to Waterton Lakes National Park! The journey started with a smooth border crossing, and we drove in awe to the historic Prince of Wales Hotel.
The Prince of Wales Hotel, located in Waterton Lakes National Park, Canada, was built in 1927 by the Great Northern Railway. Its name honors the future King Edward VIII, who visited the region in 1927. The Hotel, perched on a hilltop, boasts a rich history. Its majestic architecture and breathtaking views of Upper Waterton Lake make it a true gem of the Rockies!
When you visit Waterton National Parkdon't miss these 5 amazing activities:
🍁 Hike the iconic Crypt Lake Trail.
🍁 Take a scenic boat cruise on Waterton Lake.
🍁 Explore the Red Rock Canyon.
🍁 Witness the stunning Cameron Falls.

I did a day trip from St Mary, MT to Waterton Lakes National Park and it was well worth the day I spent . The park is not quite as majestic as Glacier National Park on the USA side of the border but it's still beautiful and if you are visiting Glacier National Park you should take the time to see the Canadian side. The town of Waterton makes for an excellent stop in the middle of the tour of the park with lots of shops, places to eat and hotels.

Rising college-age stars perform in popular Broadway musicals at this summer stock theater.
In full disclosure before I review, my daughter is a cast member. We travelled to see her perform in all four shows. My husband and I kept saying to each other after every show "...no one is going to believe us back home when we tell them how absolutely professional and amazing these shows are". Our family has seen a good bit of theatre over the last 5 years (and paid much more for tickets) and are so incredibly impressed with the quality of the Bigfork Summer Playhouse shows that we just saw. The choreography was top-notch! Vocals absolutely stellar! Transitions were seamless. The live musicians were excellent. Also, I am not sure when/if I have ever seen better acting! Drowsy Chaperone was hysterical...the whole audience was laughing most of the time. Joseph was a delight on many levels. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers was simply beautiful. Mama Mia was so great that we were still singing the songs in the car on the way home.
I will most certainly follow the careers of many of these actors to watch for their inevitable successes professionally!

We had a wonderful time watching Elf. They need to have roped lines for waiting in line though or some sort of organization. We went in the door thinking we had to exchange our on line tickets as that's the notification we got but found out we didn't. We were waiting for our daughter to park and join up with us & just stood inside. We saw the lady selling tickets say something so I went over to see what she said, she basically told us the line was in one spot (the lobby was PACKED) so NO ONE coming in knew where the line was, and that we were ALL crowding. Well if that's the case the solution would be to have some direction before it gets to that point in the lobby. It's winter folks no one wants to wait out in the cold. Other than that it was so festive & a great show. I would love to help out if you need.....

This is a wonderful playhouse! The actors are incredible! It's professional level quality! So excited to watch Mamma Mia this year, they did a performance a couple years back & it was hilarious!!! This place is awesome, and I can't watch to watch the plays this summer! Who needs to watch a movie, when you can watch a live performance... standing ovation, & lots of applause for Bigfork Summer Playhouse :)

I like the feel of the place, it was nice seeing the shows. They need to fire the old lady at the front. $72 over the course of two days, and she was crotchety and angry both times.

A taste of Broadway and West End. Literally. Incredibly fitting to the charming setting that is main street BigFork. I will definitely be visiting this place frequently when we come down
We saw Guys and Dolls. Which isn't my favorite play but the talented cast members made it very enjoyable and entertaining.

I love the heart and soul that goes into keeping live theater alive at the Big Fork play house. Its an amazing jewel that should be attended often!

They put on great productions! Reasonably priced tickets, great quality, and I enjoy how roomy the house is--it's easy to get past people in the same row without feeling like you're about to fall in someone's lap! Plenty of stalls in the women's bathroom (ladies, you know how it is!) and the lobby of the theatre has some really cool artwork in it.
Bowman Lake is a large, glaciated lake located in Glacier National Park. It's accessible via Camas Road, and is popular for recreational visitors and wedding photographers alike. The lake has great views of surrounding mountains, making it an ideal spot for engagement photos.
It was an amazing sight to see. Rough road to get down to the lake, but a must-see if you are in the area and well worth it. If you love nature this place is for you.

So peaceful.
Sudden storms may occur (be prepared).
Limited parking spots. It's better if you have non-motorized water craft so you can enjoy this Lake in the fullest.

Down a long, one lane, dusty dirt road through forest and meadow, lies a lake near the most remote corner of GNP, and it is pretty! The campground was full yet quiet, except near the lake, and the restrooms were surprisingly pleasant. The water was clear and cold, and the lake bed was covered in pebbles that were great for skipping on the glassy surface!
Brian Baker — Google review
Incredibly beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. It is worth driving on gravel roads to get there. I wish I had my kayak, but we just went for the view. The water was cold but guys were in the water fishing and some were kayak. It is crystal clear. You have to drive past Polebridge Mercantile, so be sure to stop there for a bite to eat. The place is peaceful and views are incredible.
Sandra Hines — Google review
Beautiful and worth the drive on the washboard road. Tip...if you have 4wd, turn it on...if you are able to drive closer to the speed limit, the bumps are actually easier to go over that way.
TL C — Google review
Nice quiet area of GNP. Not as easy to get to as some of the other areas in GNP, but I guess that is why it is more quiet. Very nice mostly flat trail along the lake. Bring your bear spray for safety.
EveryDayGlory ! — Google review
True gem of Glacier National Park. The road out in amazing and has recently been redone. Be sure to stop in Polebridge for a sandwich and some snacks. The drive out takes a bit. Lots of gravel. Luckily we had the protections on our rental car so we didnt worry. When you pull into the campsite there's lots of options for terrain and mainly spots to choose from. I'd suggest arriving early on a Thursday or Friday if you're wanting to get a good spot as it can be busy. There are trails around the lake and other smaller lakes you can hike to. At night be sure to step out and look up at the stars. I promise you won't be disappointed.
Ty Walsh — Google review
Awesome experience visiting this lake, road to the lake was rough but was not difficult to drive.
Be cautious while driving, if you are not used to drive on rough roads and also while if it rained or raining.
Few suggestions:
You have to choose bowman lake campground for navigation for google maps.
Make sure to have a offline maps downloaded.
Come before 9 AM if you plan to spend a day there or after 2 PM. Or else you might not be able to find parking or enter the park. I went there around 10 AM and waited until 12 PM to get inside
For food, either pack yourself a lunch or get a food from polebridge.
Pack yourself swimwear as it will be tempting yo get into water.
Bring water shoes if you like to walk around the lake in water.

This place is great. Not crowded and very tranquil.the round to get here is so-so but not terrible. Numa Lookout is challenging hike but well worth the effort. And there is Ranger Fire Spotting Scope at the end of the hike. If Ranger is there it is your lake day because they my show you inside and explain how fire spitting works and show you incredible ancient trech they use. Swimming in the lake at the beach by parking lot is very nice. Fishing is also great.

My son and I took the half day Glacier Overlook ride with Swan Mountain Outfitters through the beautiful National Forest near Glacier National Park from their East West Glacier location. Caity was our guide and she made the ride very memorable and was always willing to stop the ride to make saddle and stirrup adjustments for the less experienced riders like my son and me. It just so happened that we were the only riders booked for our time slot, so we basically had a private trip. The ride took us up to a cliff edge that provided a beautiful view of Glacier National Park and the surrounding areas. Caity was very knowledgeable about the area, including the foliage and names/backgrounds of the various mountains. We were able to sit out on the cliff and soak in the beautiful nature around us. She even picked some huckleberries for us to sample. The ride was at a comfortable pace and included some inclines and declines adding just the right amount of difficulty for inexperienced riders like us! In talking with our guide, we learned how Swan Mountain Outfitters looks after their horses ensuring they are in good physical condition while not being overworked. While I didn’t have the opportunity to go horseback riding with another outfit, I believe I made a great choice and would definitely book another trip, possibly an all day ride ending with a cowboy cookout !

The worst customer service experience! My friend was visiting from out of state for a week, and I wanted to show her all that Montana has to offer! So, our schedule was pretty tight. When booking our horseback ride, we knew we would not have time that day to take advantage of going to Glacier Park so were going to schedule our horseback riding outside the park. However, the time we wanted was not available outside the park, but the lady taking our reservation assured us that since we would be horseback riding in the park, we would not have to pay entrance into the park. However, when arriving to the park we had to pay a $35.00 vehicle entrance fee. Additionally, when making our reservation we asked for direction to the corral and the lady ensured us it was very easy to find. We were to enter West Glacier Park and within 2 miles of the entrance we would see the corral on the left. This was not the case! You must turn left down a road to locate the corrals. Since we were looking for a corral not a road we were late arriving and could not call to let them know or ask for better direction as there was no cell service. Once getting to the corral I was able to get cell service and saw I had a voicemail from the corral stating since we were late, they were leaving without us! We ran up to the corral only to find out that no one had left. The horse were not even present! They were still waiting for the horses to return from the scheduled ride before us.! So therefore, the voicemail stating they were going to leave without us unwarranted. Since the horses were not even present everyone had to wait 2 hours after their scheduled ride time before being able to get on a horse!! Like I mentioned previously we had a pretty tight schedule so this 2 hour wait ensured that we were unable to make it to our next scheduled activity. When I called to explain my experience, the company was unapologetic and just kept making excuses like “well they were probably late because it was raining!!” and there was not a cloud in the sky that day!! I do not recommend this outfitter unless you are willing to experience terrible customer service and a very hectic and chaotic experience during what is supposed to be your vacation.

Do not book a elk hunt with this company!
My wife booked a archery elk hunt and we are avid white tail hunter and claim to know absolutely nothing about elk hunting, that being said there are a few thing that are quite common is animal movement, be in the woods before sun rise and don’t come out till after dark we returned every day with hours of sunlight left to hunt one day they where headed down the mountain back to camp at 3 in the afternoon. Let me back up for one sec. My wife also paid a extra 1500 for a one on one guide in witch 2 of the days there we didn’t have a guide at all! When we said something to him he did some speaking with his guides and agreed to give us back 750 to which we have not seen! Look there’s just way to much to write there was 0 preseason scouting done regardless of what snippy little comments he come back here with. The guides though they where super nice guys to have a beer with do not take your hunt or your money seriously felt like a camping trip not a elk hunt I’m just trying to help the next archer don’t do it! There are solid outfitters in the area when your at the airport or in town just ask a few ppl about them it’ll be clear! Now I will say the cook and the food where really good and the scenery was awesome but we didn’t go there for any of those thing if your there to hunt forget about it save your money you would be way way better off doing it your self! I promise!!

We were supposed to take the 2 hour trail ride but I'm not sure that's what it actually was. I was so focused on the well being of the horse I barely noticed scenery. My horse almost fell 3 times due to the steep and rocky "trail". Overall, I just felt bad for the horses the entire ride. I do not recommend.

We had a beautiful 2 hr trial ride leaving from Many Glacier. Our guide, Meredith, was delightful. You could tell that she really wanted us to have a great, safe experience. You could feel her passion for Glacier, the horses and her customers. Thanks for an awesome experience!

Met up at base camp at around 3000’. Rode 12 miles in about 5 hours into the Swan Valley to the upper camp around 5400’.
Upper camp was a beautiful camp nestled amongst the tall pines with the lion creek running through camp. Our source of water for the week coming from the melting snow still covering the swan mountain range. Camp was made up of 6 wall tents and a camp dining tent. Our tent had two cots which would be our home for the week. The food far exceeded my expectations. Kris was the camp cook and she was fantastic. We had restaurant quality breakfasts and dinners every day. And her packed lunches were just as good on our rides.
We took two rides. One up through the lion creek pass into Bob Marshall. That ride was about two miles and took us to 7000’. After crossing the pass we found two beautiful mountain lakes. Swimming in the lakes was a great experience. So clear and cool. From this point we looked out across a vast wilderness.
The second ride took us up towards the peak of swan mountain. Couldn’t make the peak. Rode to about 7500’ in only 1 1/2 miles. Very steep up and back. Becky and I hiked another 500’ in elevation to get to some snow. Where we made snowman in august. The wildflowers up there where everywhere. Thousands of them. Despite being in the most populated area of the lower 48 for both brown and black bears we didn’t see any. We did see a few elk and had mullies come into camp one morning. Our guides were incredible. Matt and Kyle. So knowledgeable and provided us with a great experience. The pictures and videos just don’t do this trip justice. And the horses were so incredible. We rode trials that barely had enough room for all four of their feet. And the way they ascended and descended those trails was amazing. Some so step we had to lead them down. The stars went on forever.
We covered about 30 miles in 4 days and went from 3500’-8000’ and back. Such an appreciation for our horses. Mine was ‘hammer’. I cannot begin to explain how great sitting in the saddle feels and riding those trails. Montana I will be back. And if your looking for a top notch once in a lifetime experience visit Swan Mountain Outfitters. Best in the business.

Incredible trip! Took the 3 day pack trip ~15 miles in. Coming from Chicago, the views were breathtaking. The experience was rewarding. Although our group was comfortable in the outdoors based on previous camping, we had barely any riding experience prior to this. Don’t let that stop you if you were like us.
The guides (Nelson and Kevin) were informative, reaffirming, and listened. They took whatever concern you had seriously, and addressed it to ensure you were comfortable. It truly is your trip and what you want to do. Our camp cook, Stephanie, made fantastic meals, but we also found ourselves sitting at the table or riding the trails sharing stories with her. She was amazing.
The rides can be hard at times—very steep inclines/switchbacks. But, you need to and learn to trust your horse. They’re incredible animals—literal athletes in every sense—that the outfitters truly care for and you learn to truly respect/admire. The horses have done these trails hundreds of times, so you quickly learn to trust what you learn during your orientation, but more importantly, trust your horse when technical parts of the trail come in front.
Only negative/feedback I would give to SMO is to be more clear on tipping at the end of the trip. Although stated on the site and materials provided, it was still confusing at the end of the trip. All because we wanted to make sure we were compensating everyone appropriately for an amazing trip! Just caused a little frustration among the larger group but nothing to deter from this experience.
You’ll see views you would never be able to see any other way. You’ll experience new, sometimes challenging but always rewarding, things when it comes to the ride. And, you’ll make some friends along the way.
Recommending to all my friends/family. Thank you SMO! Will not forget this trip.

We did a 2 hour tour out of Many Glacier to Cracker Flats. Our guide was Dita. We had a great time! They staff goes over all the safety guidelines, helped my short person stature up on my horse. Dita was very informative and engaging throughout the ride and we get a cute pictures at the end. If you do not regularly ride a horse, I would suggest the one or two hour ride because it is a workout! It was the perfect excursion for something different on my husbands birthday. Highly recommend!

Our group of 5 had an amazing time on our 2 hour trail ride leaving from their corral in West Glacier. Roger and Ethan were great helping us get on our horses and doing the safety demonstration. We had a mix of experienced and brand new riders and they paired us great with our horses. Ethan was a great guide and pointed out plants and told stories about the trails we were on. The horses were all very well-mannered and enjoyable to ride. The views from the hike were also so beautiful and we all agreed it was the best experience anyone has had on horseback. 10/10 would recommend Swan Lake Outfitters to anyone!

We went on the half day ride to glacier overlook. We had a lot of fun! The horses are extremely mild mannered. I do believe they take into account your experience on horse assignments. I have been riding all of my life so they gave me a horse that needed to be in the back because he doesn't like having other horses behind him. But I didn't have any issues with him at all, he was a sweetheart. Our guide was awesome! He made sure to constantly keep an eye on us to make sure things were going okay. My friend rode who has very little to no experience and she had a lot of fun. This is fun for anyone.

Cameron Lake is a small yet captivating oasis nestled amidst majestic mountains. Its intimate size adds to the charm, offering a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The surrounding peaks create a stunning backdrop, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers and photographers alike.

Cameron Lake is one of our favorite places in Waterton. It is usually quite peaceful. It is often quiet. It can sometimes be busy, but usually only along the shore and in the parking lot. This is fine for us since we usually go paddleboarding and/or kayaking with our inflatable water craft. When you get out on the lake it is usually quite calm and peaceful and you're surrounded on all sides by mountain views. It is BEAUTIFUL!

A beautiful lake just 20 minutes from Waterton! Wide open lake encompassed by mountains, making for a stunning panoramic view. You can rent a wide variety of boats here to take into the waters, or use your own if you have one. The parking lot is quite big, with ample space in my experience. A nice getaway spot for a hot summer's day!

Breathe taking views! Clear clean water and excellent rentals for the lake.
We visited Cameron Lake on a suggestion from a friend who visited this lake earlier this year. So happy we went! We brought a picnic and our chairs and relaxed in the shade of a tall pine tree.
Our son rented a paddleboard for an hour for $30 and was well worth every penny. He and his girlfriend paddled all around the lake. Life vests came with the rental.
We would go again and explore.

Windabout longish drive up from Waterton Village but worth it. You know you're in the boonies with no cell phone service. The lake is clear pristine, and you can see the mountains across the border in Montana about 1.5 miles / 2.4 km from the visitor centre and docks. Boat, canoe, and paddleboard rentals are available. There is also scenic hiking, but we didn't have time to do that.

Lake McDonald is the largest in Glacier National Park and offers stunning scenery, including views of Lake McDonald. It's very popular so be sure to get up early for your Glacier National Park engagement photos!
Went to Glacier NP in end of July for my daughter's birthday. The weather was perfect during this time. We kayaked on Lake McDonald in the morning. It was serene and calm with not too many people. More people came later in the day. Would recommend going early. The park had a nice combination of restaurants, gift shops, hotel accomodations and launching pads. The lake itself was beautiful to be on. You can see the mountains and beauty much better from the water.

Gorgeous views, clear blue water, and some of the freshest air you’ll breathe. We rented kayaks and spent a few hours paddling the shores on a relatively windy day. It was worth it, but in retrospect probably would’ve rented on a different lake or stream in the park. Ended up stopping along the southern shore and swimming, which was great. Cold, but great. The views of the lake driving up GTS road are phenomenal as well. Overall, worth checking out from the Apgar area. Consider a kayak or boat rental, but be prepared for some wind. And definitely get out for a swim, weather permitting.

One of the most iconic locations in Glacier National Park and for good reason. It’s super easy to access being right next to the airport and the west entrance. Beautiful lake inside Glacier National Park.
The colorful pebbles inside the clear water look beautiful. We found few people kayaking in the lake. Good spot to take pictures and relax outside of the more popular spots inside the national park.
Hikes through a red- & green-tinged river gorge surrounded by wildflower meadows & mountains.
Beautiful place, easy hiking trails. Make sure to bring water, especially on a warm summer day. If you want to soak up your feet and walk up the stream, I would suggest you either have sandals or water-shoes, as I did not.
Definitely go earlier in the morning to avoid the crowds, as you might not have a parking spot in the afternoon.

Mesmerizing and engaging landscape with a short and effortless hike. Because of this, it is usually quite crowded, especially with families and kids enjoying the water. However, the ease of the trail and the sheer beauty of the views make it an absolute must-visit, even if you're sharing the experience with others.

I haven't been here in years and it's gotten way busier. Beautiful red rocks and an interesting little hike. Bring water shoes and possibly change of clothes as you will definitely get wet. Lots of people, very busy. The bridge on the far top path was closed, so no way to go around the canyon on the top.

Absolutely spectacular family hike! The falls themselves were nice, with all the safe railing and man made government approved stuff but go up past that.... the forest full of wildflowers, easy creek access and mountain views was amazing! returning home to the parking area and playing in the Red Rock Canyon River to cool our hot feet and enjoy the fresh water was brilliant!

The drive to get here was beautiful. Lots of parking and essential utilities. You can walk the paved path around the canyon, about 15 minutes. Hike down in the canyon along the stream. Then hike over to the falls, about 15 minutes from the lot. Got there about 9am and it was nice and quiet, but by 10:30 it was quite busy.

Red Rock is always worth it. The drive will likely land you a view of a bear or two. We found a young one but hind leg was clearly broken and limping. Poor thing! Hit by a car no doubt. The canyon is walkable. We only go down into the are under the bridge. Lots of peeps around competing for pics. The walk is usually a loop and you cross over bridge at the top after a very short walk but it's boarded up on both sides. No doubt it I not stable after the fire that ripped through this area a couple of years ago. High recommend for an easily accessible activity 👌

Wonderful and unique red rock canyon that is easily accessible by car. The best tip that I can give you is to go early to avoid the crowds. Even at 8AM on a Sunday (8/21/2022), you will likely have the entire canyon (and the nearby falls) to yourself, and enjoy it so much more. At the time of this review, there is construction at the canyon so you are unable to go deeper into the canyon or access the trails beside the canyon.

The jewel of Waterton, and one the most scenic trail heads. The trails there are all beautifully worthwhile, too. Take it slow and take all the colours in. Submerge all your senses in this eternal play of lights, sounds, smells, earth, wind, and water intertwining. Let your spirit soar at every so often glance at the pointy tip of Anderson Peak ever-present in the backdrop. Shake yourself loose of all daily sorrows and woes, even if only for a fleeting moment.
Don't forget to enjoy the road there. It is easily one of the most scenic drives in the world.

Amazing Canyon with red rocks truly unique. There are long and short trails from the parking spot. Speaking of parking lots there are two upper is small and lower is big but a bit of walk so good luck finding one on upper lot on a busy day few washrooms. We ventured out to Red Rock Canyon with high hopes of an epic outdoor adventure, and while the natural beauty did not disappoint, the facilities left a lot to be desired. Let's talk washrooms – or lack thereof. It was like stumbling upon the wild west of restroom situations. Unmanned and untamed, these washrooms were in dire need of some human intervention.
Picture this: a line of nature enthusiasts forming outside a restroom, hoping for some kind of magical appearance of cleaning supplies and a bit of freshening up. But alas, it seemed like a scene straight out of a deserted town. The washrooms were long overdue for some updating and cleaning love, like they were stuck in a time warp where toilet paper and soap were ancient relics.
Now, I get it, Red Rock Canyon is all about that free-spirited, wild vibe, but maybe a small surcharge could do wonders for maintaining these essential facilities. A mere $5 could be a lifeline for those washrooms, making them a bit more inviting and giving the whole place a touch more charm. With the influx of visitors, it's easy to see how the experience could be dampened by the lack of basic amenities.
In the end, the stunning views and rugged terrain made up for the less-than-ideal restroom situation, but a little investment in the facilities could go a long way in making this adventure even more appealing to all us nature enthusiasts.

Right upon arriving at Red Rock Canyon, I was pleasantly surprised to find wheelchair accessible bathrooms conveniently located near the entrance. While they were not flushable toilets, they were well-maintained outhouse-style bathrooms, providing a clean and accessible option for visitors. I was delighted to discover that the bathrooms were equipped with a diaper changing station, which is a thoughtful addition for families with young children.
During my visit, the park was undergoing some maintenance or construction work, but it did not significantly hinder the overall experience. In fact, there were several sections of the canyon that were wheel-chair and stroller friendly, allowing everyone to enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings. It's important to note that due to the ongoing construction, not all the trails were perfectly straight, which may require some extra attention while navigating.
Red Rock Canyon is a true visual delight. The contrasting red and green hues create a stunning backdrop for any kind of photography, whether you're capturing family moments, couples, or the captivating nature itself. The canyon's vibrant colors make it a perfect spot for capturing memorable pictures.
As you explore the park, you'll come across a variety of hiking trails suitable for all levels of fitness. From shorter 1-kilometer routes to more challenging treks spanning 15 kilometers or more, there's something for everyone.
Overall, Red Rock Canyon is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and photography enthusiasts alike. It’s a memorable experience for individuals, families, and friends seeking to connect with nature in a breathtaking setting. I highly recommend visiting Red Rock Canyon for an unforgettable outdoor adventure.
Quick note: still lots of burned trees from the wildfire back in 2017

A nice excursion just 20 minutes from Waterton! This wide canyon features distinct red rocks and a small stream of water running through it. There are typically large crowds, especially on a weekend during summer so try coming early to avoid them. There is a nice pathway along the outside of the canyon where you can walk around, and you can also walk down into the canyon which a lot of people do. Take off your shoes and you are free to splash around in the water! The parking lot is nicely sized, with a restroom on site as well. Check this out when you're visiting Waterton!

Waterton Park, also known as Waterton, is a charming hamlet nestled in the picturesque southwestern Alberta, Canada. Situated at the end of Highway 5, it's about 54 kilometers west of Cardston and 55 kilometers south of Pincher Creek. This serene destination offers a delightful escape with its scenic beauty and tranquil surroundings. It's an ideal place for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a peaceful retreat amidst stunning landscapes.
Located in Glacier National Park, Avalanche Lake is a popular hiking destination that offers stunning views of snow-capped mountains and forested slopes. The lake is surrounded by dense woods and mountains, making it difficult to access, but the quick bop over to Avalanche won't spare you the crowds.
Avalanche Lake was one of my favorite trails I ever hiked in Glacier National Park. It feels like you are walking through a prehistoric forest with the massive leaves and trees. The river that runs through this area is absolutely mesmerizing with the way it cuts the gorge and rocks around it. The rocks are super slippery though so I do not recommend getting too close to them out of the danger of slipping. Avalanche Lake itself lends perfectly to photos and offers dramatic reflections of the mountains and forest behind it. In the fall the leaves were changing all sorts of colors which lent itself wonderfully to photos. I would put this hike on your list especially if you only have one day in Glacier!

We visited this place in July 2022. This trail is located on the West Entrance on Going To The Sun Road. To drive on this road, you will need a pass. If you don't have one, go to recreation.gov The park makes 1k tickets available the night before and it cost $2.00 If you don't have a pass, they will not let you in. Also if your vehicle is longer than 21 ft, they will turn you around. To those who have a longer RV, there is a campground outside St. Mary Entrance that will accommodate you. Read the review I did of that RV park. We stayed there for 4 nights. We also stayed on a campground outside the park on the west side of Glacier, Big Creek Campground. Read the review I did of that place. It may help you decide to camp there if you can't camp inside the park due to the length of your vehicle or RV. There is way to get in if you don't have a pass. You can either get in before 6am or after 4pm. They do that to control the traffic and not congest the roads nor parking lots. After 4pm most people have left the park. This keeps the traffic going. This is a famous NP and thousands visit it. There is a check point where they verify your park entrance, your pass and the length of your vehicle. You can buy bear spray for $50.00. I know right or rent one at the Apgar Village. I don't know the prices. We learned that you can rent them as we were leaving the park. So we brought home with us the unused $50 bear spray.
Now, let's review the trail itself!
This trail is located on the Lake Mcdonald Valley area which is closer to the West Entrance. This is a must trail in my opinion. You should get to the parking lot early, I mean 6am early. The parking lot holds about 25 to 30 cars. We got there at 6am and it was halfway full. You can definitely do this with the kids. You start at the trail of the cedars and go onto the Avalanche Lake. You walk through the forest so you don't get that much panoramic views of the park, but once yiu get to the lake, you'll take in all the beauty before you. You can actually spend the entire day at the lake if you want. Had we known, we could've brought some chairs, more snacks, water shoes, sunscreen, and some inflatable tubes. As we were heading to the lake, we saw a few people carrying inflatable tubes. Whe we got there I realized the reason. There are 2 beach like areas where you can sit on the sand or your chairs in the shade, and float on the still lake with almost no current near the beach area. I wished we knew that. We would've stayed longer. I would definitely do this trail again .

Amazing hike with amazing lake on top. Lots of people on the trail. It’s hard to find parking lot spots but if you come early in the morning, you’ll be well off. Took a dip in the lake and it’s nice and chillly. The trail is mostly shaded and was wet because it rained a lot. Lots of people on the first beach but if you go to the opposite side of the lake you can avoid the crowds and swim since it’s deeper on the back end

Overall easy hike to get to the lake. Definitely worth going early enough to see the sun rise over the mountains. Moments of going uphill, and rough terrain. Pit toilets at the lake are available, bring your own toilet paper/sanitizer. Get to the trailhead early - parking was limited by 645 and trail was busy by 830.

Beautiful! If you are only going to do one moderate difficulty hike on a trip to Glacier then I recommend doing this one.
Bring adequate water and a snack to enjoy sitting next to the lake. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the waterfalls flowing into the boxed-in lake. The water is cool so bringing some water shoes and having a swimsuit under your hiking clothes is a good idea. The water is clear but you will kick up dirt walking around in it.
Watch out for the chipmunks when you have food since they can be very aggressive.

Hidden Lake is a popular day-hike destination in Glacier National Park. From Logan Pass, hikers can take the Hidden Lake Overlook Trail down to the lake which is home to abundant wildlife. The short trail also runs through gorgeous alpine meadows, covered with wildflowers in summer and home to abundant wildlife.
This is an absolutely beautiful trail and the final destination at hidden lake is worth it. Bonus is you have a high chance of seeing mountain goats and big horn sheep. Occasionally you may come across a bear, but we did not see one this trip. I would say the trip to the actual lake is much easier than coming back. There are very steep switch-backs that definitely test your stamina. Make sure to take plenty of breaks on the way up! I would say another great bonus is seeing all the beautiful wild flowers on the way to the lake.

Though parking can be tough at Logan Pass, visiting the center and the surrounding area is worth the effort. There are plenty of restrooms and exhibits, indoor and outdoor. The trail to Hidden Lake starts out the back door and is along a boardwalk for a good portion, though I still recommend bringing water and good shoes or well-fitting sandals. There's a couple herds that appear to love the are as well - Bighorn Sheep and Mountain Goat! BTW, visit the Hidden Lake overlook - it's very worth the climb!

Nice incline up to the ridge overlooking the lake below. In late Spring there may still be snow up there but I as there in mid July and the snow was pretty much over on the shaded sides of the mountains.
Mountain goats are a popular animal out here along with Marmots, Pika’s and ground squirrels/. The hike up the wooden boardwalk is a good work out folks, pretty easy though.

This is an amazing spot with a beautiful lake. It’s mostly boarded so easy to climb up. It is all up most of the first half but not a difficult hike. Fairly short. We saw mountain goats and rams. A beautiful experience. It does get very busy and the parking lot is fairly small so expect to wait for parking or have to leave and come back at another time

If you have strength to continue from the overlook, you should. Stunning views.

While parking is a major challenge at Logan Pass, this is a hike worth taking. One of the best, if not the best, in Glacier National Park. It’s a boardwalk for much of it, so very easy, with only moderate elevation. The non-boardwalk parts are easy dirt trails. You can’t get lost. The “lookout” is a 1.5 mile straight shot and gets you to about 8000 ft. So 3 miles round trip. You can hike down another 1.5 miles down to the lake, but that obviously makes the hike an additional 3 miles. This is a must do hike, at least to the lookout.

The hike from Logan’s Pass is a moderately strenuous uphill 2 mile climb but along the way to the lake we got to see a mountain goat, multiple mountain sheep, and breathtaking vistas. Take as many breaks as you need especially if you adjust to the altitude the way I do and my breathing got very difficult for the first mile. Once you get to the viewing area of the lake there are a lot of people scrambling to take pictures and space became tight very quickly. It wasn’t the most beautiful lake I got to serve while at GNP but a great hike!

What can I say. This is the most beautiful lake scenery in the whole Montana state. I love the hike and the sights all around the trail is just amazing. Anyone in the area must see this place. Views are breathtaking. Trust me these pictures doesn’t do the justice. It’s a place that need to be on your bucket list. I can not wait to go there again.

This was one of my favorite hikes at Glacier. Finding a parking spot can be a challenge, so taking a shuttle is advisable if possible. And it is more crowded than some other hikes, but for good reason. The views were stunning and also be on the lookout for a wide variety of wildlife. If you have the time, I'd highly recommend going down to the lake, which is a perfect spot for a picnic lunch or just a relaxing break enjoying the amazing scenery.

One of the beautiful alpine lakes in Glacier National Park. The start of the trail is through Logan pass. The trail takes you to the overlook and through the overlook there’s another trail that leads you down to the lake. Since the trail starts from Logan Pass, finding a parking spot is very challenging, so make sure you leave early.
Chances of seeing wild goats on this trail is quite high. Also bear spotting is high when you walk down towards the lake from the overlook. During our time, the trail to the lake was closed because of the bears, so have your bear spray ready.

Very nice hike. Most of the way up it’s decking.
The geology is amazing but the wildflowers are simply stunning.
Stop and look. Don’t miss the best of the trail! You might see wildlife you might not. Usually there are mountain goats and ground squirrels.
If you want there is more to the trail than just the overlook.

I'll never travel to Regina without this trip planner again
Logan Pass is the highest navigable point by road on the Continental Divide. The pass is located in Glacier National Park, at an elevation of 6646 feet. The views from the summit are stunning and it's a popular starting point for many hikes.
You definitly want to stop here. Logans pass has great views, scenery. Wildlife, etc. Just be aware, parking can be full due to the number of visitors. But no worries, it's worth the wait
Zachary Hottel — Google review
Though parking can be tough here, visiting this pass and center and the surrounding area is worth the effort.

Beautiful views in the park there are fields of wildflowers. Beautiful glaciers and Lots of wildlife. Logan Pass is the highest elevation (6646ft/2025m) and is accessible by car. It is really popular with visitors and the parking lot is usually full between 8:30 am sometimes even earlier and 4:00 pm. Consider visiting the park by using the free shuttles to avoid limited parking, or plan to visit early or late in the day if possible. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and have sunscreen.

Anyone heading to Glacier National Park, Going to the Sun Road and Logan Pass are essentials. Where with friends, family, or solo.
While many with make a bee line to Highline Trail, there is much to offer at Logan’s. The hidden lake and panoramic vista’s just past the visitor’s center are breathtaking. Also the overlook viewing area near the entrance to Highline is a must.
We love heading up as a family to have a wondrous time playing in the snow in early/mid July. Tossing some snowballs or making frosty’s cousin’s. Also the amazing wildlife, including mountain goats abound!!!

Except information center, busy parking lot and restroom nothing much unless you are here to hike hidden falls overlook or take even more hike to hidden falls or other nearby hikes. You need to walk in full sun so be prepared with everything

Very beautiful place and a good place to park and go on trails. Has public restrooms, plenty of car parking, good trail paths with beautiful mountain views. I’ve visited this place in the month of June and the pass was open to public by then. The road(Going to the Sun road) to this place is one of the most beautiful drives I’ve ever driven. Very narrow roads but it is worth driving till the Logan pass. A must visit place in the Glacier National Park.

Beautiful area & views. Snow was still on the trail in July, towards the end of the trail but before the lake overlook. Appropriate footwear is needed unless you like slip-sliding all the rest of the way. And water hiking sandals aren't sufficient by the way. I look forward to going again with "snow-capable" hiking boots so I can finish the hike. If you don't like taking 30 minutes to find a parking spot at the visitor center, go extra early. :) Also, note that there is not a restroom on the trail...prepare accordingly. Otherwise, enjoy the gorgeous scenery!! 🤩

Logan's pass is a stunning area, whether you're hiking, admiring the view, or checking out the visitor's center. we saw these boys near the parking lot - please make sure to stay back, and never feed the wildlife!
Natalie Beaird — Google review
Absolutely worth beating the crowds and heading into the park at 5:30am, especially if you don't have a park pass because then you won't be allowed in until after 3pm. The parking lot at Logan Pass fills up FAST during peak season, and if you go early (5:30am) you can have more unobstructed views of everything. Also, at Logan Pass, you will see people park further and further down the hill and walk up, which seems pretty brutal because it's steep, and you've still got a big hike ahead of you. Be prepared to see animals roaming about on the hike, and please be smart and don't get close.

We got there July 22. 7 am. And the parking lot was full. Like FULL! But worry not people do come and go so you ll find a spot soon enough. The hikes are incredible. Views are beautiful. Wildlife if lucky is spectacular. Must do on a vist to the park!

Hands down the most beautiful pass. It actually is a spot for some of the best trails. We entered the park through the West Glacier entrance and took the Going-to-the-Sun Road to reach to Logan pass. The views throughout were immaculate and spectacular. There are multiple overlook points in between that one can stop at and admire. We didn’t have enough time to watch the sunrise but if you have that in your itinerary, Logan pass is the spot. For sunsets I’d recommend Lake McDonald. The trails that we did that started from this pass were Hidden Lake Trail and the Highline Trail. Logan pass is also the spot for the Continental Divide, which separates the Atlantic and Pacific watersheds of North America. If you plan to do the Logan Pass trails make sure you have enough food and water because the trails are long and the visitor centre is only open until 5:15pm. Also make sure you reach there early to save yourself a parking spot because 9/10 times the parking spot is full and you don’t want to waste your time waiting for someone to leave.

Take the Highline trail from here, you won't be sorry..also cool exhibits and swag for the whole family, loads to see and do, don't expect to find a parking spot though, TAKE THE SHUTTLE

Logan Pass is at 6,646 feet where the Going-to-the-Sun-Highway crosses the Continental Divide. It is the highest point on the Going-to-the-Sun-Highway, and roughly 2/3 of the distance across the Park.
The scenery is quite beyond words and this is another Must-Do when visiting Glacier National Park. We found that many of our pictures showed mountains with their peaks in the clouds. What we could see was marvelous so I know the rest would be grand too.
The Visitor Center is atop the Continental Divide, and from there access is available to the Highline Trail, known for wildflowers during the summer. Access for other trails is there also.
The Visitor Center is open mid-June to mid-September and is staffed with helpful rangers and several exhibits. There is also a gift shop. The restrooms are nice and very welcome.
We had hoped to enjoy a picnic lunch we brought with us to eat there, but this area is also known for high winds, and this day the wind was frigid. We ate in the car and enjoyed the view from inside. Food service is not available here.
There is what seems like a lot of parking, but it is often difficult to find an available place, as this is a busy area.
Going-to-the-Sun Road is a seasonal route that showcases stunning alpine landscapes complete with cascading waterfalls and mountain goats. This road may be closed during snow season but its scenic beauty remains unmatched, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The route presents an ideal opportunity to witness some of nature's most breathtaking visuals while experiencing the crisp mountain air.
Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located approximately 70 kilometers west of Lethbridge, Alberta. The site is dedicated to preserving the Plains Buffalo culture that has lasted for over 6,000 years and features an interpretive center showcasing the Blackfoot Indigenous culture. This cultural landmark tells a story of resourcefulness and ingenuity as the Blackfoot people hunted buffalo by using cliffs near Fort Macleod.
Wonderful museum for a great history lesson. Exhibits are amazing and offers a great history lesson for everyone. Lots to see and the trails are nice for a little hike. Wildlife can usually be seen on your hike. A nice day trip for the family
Randy Hynes — Google review
Really interesting historical and cultural site with artifact, Films, educational displays and a walk to the jump. This year there was no cafe which was unfortunate. The gift shop could be much better in terms of variety of items available too. Guided tours would be a good option if someone wanted to pay extra for that. As a local, I would suggest adding new attractions each year like concerts, guest speakers, interactive theatre, touring cultural displays like museums do. It is a must-see for travelers passing through and locals if you haven’t visited it. The stories and layout are very good. You can also save $ using your CF1 card.

Through landscapes, exhibits, and diverse programming, you will learn about the cultural significance of this cliff to the Plains People. There is an area where you can walk through the plains, it’s stunning ( 1.2 kilometre hiking trail beneath the cliff ) While you walk through you will notice different flowers, sage and berries. The exhibits inside are very educational. I would allow at least two hours to fully capture the full experience.

A sacred part of Canada's past is preserved right here in Alberta and is something all Canadians need to experience. Do I take time now to describe every aspect of what a visit is like or urge every single person out there to make the trip to see and experience this extraordinary place. Staff are friendly and helpful. Facility is incredibly clean and very well organized. Absolutely tons of berries along the interpretive trail. TIPS: sunblock. Comfortable shoes for the interpretive walk. Do not take the first exit up a dirt road towards the tipi. Keep driving. Saw a few people head up there mistakenly. There is a huge sign at the entrance. People with physical disabilities, or other metabolic issues should be dropped off up top before parking down the hill in designated parking. It is a bit of a slog to get up the hill from there to the center.

I visited Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump World Heritage Site on a weekday in early July and sent several enjoyable hours there.
This was such a worthwhile place to stop. The interpretive centre's displays and films were first rate!
The lower trails outside were easy to follow and navigate. Coming across a pair of Yellow Bellied Marmots sunning themselves on a rock was a real bonus. One marmot took off but one curious fellow stuck around for quite awhile as long as I kept perfectly still and kept my distance..
MY post would not be complete without sharing some flowers too. This wild rose grew very close to the ground and the petals are paler than the bush variety. The hill side bushes were mostly Saskatoons and chokecherries and they were loaded with berries just waiting to ripen.

Great place for a quick side trip, fellow RV campers told us about it so we stopped in as it wasn’t too far out of our way. It has a great interpretive Center with 7 levels built into the hill side. The exhibits and video are excellent along with the short hike. Well worth the $15 admission.

What an amazing place to stop in and see. A very unique piece of history to learn about and see first hand. You climb stairs to the top and see the cliff then come back in and work your way down. Learning all about the history of the jump and indigenous culture. There is even a cool video, that is free to see, that is a reenactment of the buffalo jump being used. How it worked and some of the roles people had when it came to preparing the meat and catching the bison. I would 10/10 recommend stopping. The staff are so friendly!!! We even had a chance to ask a couple questions that we had to one of the staff working there. Incredible location.

A world class museum! The history and artifacts along with the cultural guide give an excellent history of the Blackfoot people and the buffalo hunt.

One of the most amazing places I have been to in Canada - so much history in one place, it's truly amazing. For context, this location has been in use for longer than the Great Pyramids have existed for.
Talk to the staff as you walk in, as they'll explain the best way to experience the tour (head all the way to the top of the building so you can complete the cliff side walk first, and then complete the floors in the museum from top to bottom. Was really impressed with the show they played in the theatre as well, surprisingly good for something that is "free" after admission. Afterwards you can walk the bottom trail to experience another perspective).
There is ample free parking on site, along with washrooms with a water station.

Great experience. Lots of information and a better understanding of indigenous people's in the area over thousands of years. The interactive displays and movies fully explained process of Buffalo jumps, which I didn't know before. Highly recommend stopping in. Takes a good couple hours to take it all in.

This is a great experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who is travelling nearby or anyone who has grown up in this area. I loved the people here who gave their time to share their culture and stories. I recommend the film and spend a bit of time outside. If you can definitely plan to visit during the dancing or if there is a special presentation or guest.

We have been here now twice and learn something new everytime. This past family day we were happy to experience the addition of extra interpreters, storytellers, and Birds of Prey on display at the site.
Take your time and bring snacks. I noticed a lot of people on Google saying HSIBJ does not allow guide dogs. We saw a service dog in the building, but like any other museum, I'm assuming that you have to prove they are a real service dog.
We will be back to experience the museum in the summer. A special thanks to Donovan, Quinton, and Conrad for sharing knowledge and being so welcoming today.

Well done site. The exhibits inside the building were well done and very interesting. The access to the upper cliffs was well planned out. No long hike to get there. This is THE place to understand how the Blackfoot people hunted for the bison (Buffalo) and how they shared their blessings with the community, how everyone helped each other to make it possible to survive the winters.
This is an absolutely amazing museum, with all the pertinent information on display. The structure is a brilliant piece of architecture. We watched the film which was done well and we were lucky enough to join a guided tour by a Blackfoot leader.
Outside, one will be able to see the exact place where the buffalos (bisons) jumped off.
I’d say 2 hours in this place would be the minimum if you’re really interested in the details.
They have real stuffed buffalos (bisons) inside the museum situated in a high location so the viewer can appreciate what it was like for the animals at the edge of the “cliff”
This museum is highly recommended, not to be missed!
Two Medicine Lake is a beautiful and serene alpine lake located in the heart of Glacier National Park. The scenery is stunning and the opportunity to take in breathtaking views of the mountains is simply unbeatable. I wish we had known that they would drop us off at the other end of the lake. We would have done the hiking trail if we had known ahead of time. Even if you're not hiking, the boat ride is incredible.
The boat is almost 100 years old but is pristine and recently restored. The sliding windows made it easy to take photographs. Our captain, was a young lady in a early 20s, who allowed us to spend time at the front of the boat taking pictures! She was very knowledgeable about the lake, the boat, and the history of the area. She even had a few good jokes!

A lot of natural trails and hikes are there too which are moderate to difficult. If you go for hiking during the summer take a bug spray or repellent.

The Running Eagle Falls is a beautiful waterfall that can be found close to Two Medicine Lake in the Rocky Mountains. The falls are named for a Native woman who showed bravery and good medicine in battle. The trail to the falls is paved and handicap accessible, making it easy for anyone to enjoy. Plus, the round-trip hike is only 0.6 miles long so its great for all ages!
Enjoyed this very easy, little walk to the most tricky waterfall in GNP! Tricky because when water flow is low, the falls only flow from a large hole in the cliff below the main falls' brink. When flow is high, it appears to only flow from the top of the falls' cliff! Very cool!

This is a quick >1 mile hike that is very level to a beautiful waterfall that has a "trick" to it. When the water is heavy, it gushes over the top, but on lower water days, like the day I visited, it travels through a tunnel.

Way better than I had expected, this museum is a must, especially if you get a guided tour to explain the highlights and the background, which we did, and it was worth 10x the value than doing a self-guided one.
I would consider this one of the top sights and Must Do activities if one is doing the cowboy trail or interested in any part of Alberta's historical past.

The museum's collection is simply astounding. With over 270 carriages on display, it offers a comprehensive exploration of the history of transportation. From the humble carriages of farmers to the luxury carriages, each exhibit provides a captivating glimpse into the past. The collection not only highlights the diversity of carriage designs but also educates visitors about the historical context behind them.
One particular highlight of the museum is its restoration workshop. Witnessing the meticulous process of repairing and restoring these magnificent carriages was truly fascinating. The dedication and expertise of the craftsmen involved are evident in the impeccable results they achieve. It was a pleasure to learn about the time and care it takes to preserve these historical treasures for future generations.

The Museum of the Plains Indian, situated in an unremarkable brick building, boasts a remarkable assortment of costumes, artwork, handicrafts and relics that celebrate the cultures of various indigenous tribes such as the Crow and Cree. The museum provides a fascinating insight into these tribes' history and customs through meticulously crafted exhibits. To fully understand the area's significance, visitors can join guided tours led by tribal members or take part in hikes offered by Sun Tours.
Amazing museum. What luck to attend when Gregg was welcoming everyone and sharing his tribe's history and customs. If you love textiles or handicrafts this museum is simply stunning. The guy working there was quite helpful and even chatted with us 12 minutes past closing - it’s always nice to see people who enjoy their work. We also chatted with the sweet man who does the maintenance. It was free entry during winter hours - they close at 3pm (I think in summer they stay open later). If you’re in the area, stop by!

An interesting place to spend some time taking in the native Indian history.. Had no idea America had 542 Indian tribes!
Worth the 30m to 45m time to browse the culture and exhibits. Apparently the Smithsonian museum folks dropped by and were very impressed.. This place had old stuff even the Smithsonian didn't.

Displays well done. Items were described in detail and explanations of how they were made and used in cultural context. Native artists were very friendly and readily answered any questions.

Excellent, a great museum with lots to see. Adults only $5. Photography is not allowed, but you may be fortunate enough to meet Gregg and outstanding scholar and proof of breaking the cycle.

Well worth a visit. Interesting exhibition of traditional American Indian tools and clothing and artifacts. Extremely friendly and informative personnel who made an effort to engage. Also local artists at work which was great to see. Thanks guys..

Showed up at 1:30 pm on December 8th. No one answered the phone as posted on the front door. We waited 30 mins calling every 5 mins and no one ever answered. We met more stray dogs then employees of this place. Parking lot was full of idle vehicles. Would not recommend as we drove an hour out of our way to visit.

We stopped by unexpectedly as we were driving through Browning and it was such a great experience. The exhibits were informative and beautiful and talking to Gregg at the front desk for a little bit was, by itself, well worth the price of admission. He fantastically kind and knowledgeable; we could have listened to him all day.
We also enjoyed meeting the demosntrating artists on site, who were both fantastically talented and a pleasure to talk to.
Very grateful to everyone involved for the educational and thought provoking experience.

This was so cool and definitely worth the drive. It's very close to glacier national park so I would definitely recommend visiting if you visit glacier. The staff was very kind and the person at the front desk even had a stray puppy on his lap. Super cool and informative place. They feature some native artists who will explain their work to you. There is also a small gift shop with beautiful beaded jewelry and art.

I have not actually been able to go to this Museum of the Plains Indian as of yet. But anything that has to do with any type of American Indians/Native American People or the History of the American Indians/Native American People. It is worthwhile to go to learn more about & see the amazing ways that they give love & care about the living things around them. We as a whole should take the time to live & learn their old way of life, & beliefs.
The Vulcan Tourism & Trek Centre is a must-visit destination, whether or not you're a Star Trek enthusiast. The center features carefully curated displays and an impressive collection of memorabilia spanning multiple generations of the iconic series. Visitors can explore exhibits highlighting women's roles in space and even sit in the Captain's chair. The knowledgeable and passionate staff add to the experience, while the well-maintained visitor center boasts an array of signed items and unique merchandise for purchase.
Took my parents and son to visit and it was fantastic! The staff member working was very knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about Star Trek! The visitor centre was very well kept and had an impressive amount of memorabilia. Lots of items signed by stars and fun items for purchase. Drove through town and saw a large mural featuring some Star Trek cast. The streets lights were little ships! Definitely recommend stopping in Vulcan!

This was an amazing place to check out, even if you aren't a Star Trek fan. The curators put a lot of care and effort into the displays and have a lot of neat memorabilia.
There is a nice section highlighting women's roles in space which was thoughtfully crafted.
There is multiple generations of Star Trek stuff to entice any fan into visiting. My kids hadn't heard of Star Trek before but loved the displays and especially the Captain's chair.
This stop far exceeded our expectations. Thank you to the people who made it such a great experience.

We were passing through Vulcan and decided to stop at the Star Trek tourist stuff. The Enterprise was well kept and to our disappointment the Tourist center was only opened on the weekend. As a kid I loved the original series and will be back to see the display of memorabilia. What we looked at was great. A little repair needed for the photo sign. Overall worth the stop.

This is easily one of the the coolest visitor centres you could visit anywhere. The staff are amazing there’s so much cool stuff to look at from the costumes to the displays to the solar system model from the ceiling. On top of that there’s lots of cool other things in the back and you could take awesome pictures. Live at your childhood fantasies in this space station, and don’t forget to pick up a pair of authentic Vulcan ears!

Not sure what I was expecting, but just walking in the door was a trip to space. So much cool stuff to look at! Even a souvenir shop! There's a picnic spot and across the street a little park along the highway. A friendly staff person. It was well worth the stop.

Stop on by and see over a half century of Star Trek merch. It brought back a lot of memories to see items from my youth and to marvel at how much Trek is out there. There's a nice tribute now to Nichelle Nichols. A library of books is available to browse and you can take home your favs for a donation. The bathrooms were good. Don't forget to tale a stroll and see the flagship of the Federation.

We recommend that every good Trekkie take in the sights in Vulcan, Alberta. A lovely young lady was hired on for her first summer job at the reception desk. Very clean bathrooms and lots of options for travel gifts.

They are open during Covid. Not a very big exhibit but packed with signed photos, real life size action figures, cardboard cutouts, collectibles, some early settler history, and a cute gift shop. Not to mention that staff is very friendly and informative.
Definitely, should stop by and check it out

Must visit for Star Trek lovers! They have a lot of original Star Trek content up to the Kelvin timeline movies, but nothing with any of the new Star Trek franchises from Discovery on. Also lots of Town of Vulcan Star Trek themed merch.
You can get a green screen image printed with you on the bridge up to 45 min before they close.
Love that there is also a short real-history display of the town.
The town also hosts Vul-Con, so I will have to come back!
The Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden is a picturesque outdoor space that seamlessly blends Canadian and Japanese landscaping styles, featuring water elements, forests, and meadows. Located adjacent to Henderson Lake Park in Lethbridge, this garden was designed by an architect hailing from Osaka and built by artisans from Kyoto as a symbol of the enduring friendship between Japan and Canada. Visitors can enjoy strolling through the serene surroundings or partake in cultural events such as tea ceremonies, Sumo Sumo Sundays or yoga classes.
I have to say this is most amazing garden Ive seen in Canada. it very well represent Japanese garden design cues. The little streams and the little temple, plus some bonsai. really is very relaxing while walking through the garden. The pavilion will held different event by weekdays and weekends. our today Monday is showing the Japan martial arts. We so pleasing can find here and it all worth the price. 5 star recommend

What a wonderful afternoon we spent meandering through the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden. No rush! We took it slow in a zen like fashion. The beautiful scenery enticing us to sit and relax. Listening to the water falling and making it's way through the garden. With our entrance fee we received a choice of strawberry or mocha cookie with mocha iced tea or orange juice. Very yummy!
If you stop in Lethbridge, definitely go check this out!! On the way put we checked the gift store! Lots to see and buy 🙂

Very peaceful and beautiful walk, very reasonably priced. I look forward to their new building being completed and going back to check that out!!
Advertised guided tours and were short staffed the day we went so no guided tours, that's the only reason they lost a star.
There was a wedding there the day we went and that was pretty cool to see all set up, it was mostly unintrusive to our experience and they were also respectful. To the newly weds Congrats!

Zen garden. Staff is super friendly and garden is well maintained. A good 2 hour drive from Calgary. Best time to visit is from 1st week of June to Mid August. Also has water park and a lake adjacent to it. Only takes an hour to get complete tour. Tea ceremony is performed on Sundays (though not sure).

Nice enough gardens, but veri lacking in colors. For the admission cost, we were disappointed. If it weren't for the small drumming show we would have been gone in less than 30 minutes. And the rules are a little ridiculous. Don't walk on the grass and rocks. YOU MUST STAY ON THE PATHS . They need to improve the scenery a little.

A good place to visit a light show with family and friends as a relaxed night out. Don't expect big and fancy things. They do provide complimentary drinks and cookies :)

Such an amazing garden. We walked out of there feeling relaxed, serene, calm and mellow. The tea ceremony was a delight to watch with lots of interesting history. This garden was designed beautifully and worth the small admission fee.
This is not a botanical garden tho. The trees, landscape and water features are gorgeous and just to sit and listen and go through the garden slowly and experience the hide and reveal aspects is fun.

The gardens were beautiful!
I took more videos then pictures and am unable to upload them.
Everything was very well maintained. The trees and bushes were well groomed and soo cute!
Make sure you stay on the path and don't pick up the rocks.
The staff was very friendly.
Would love to come back in different seasons of the year to see the leaves change to fall colors.

The perfect place for a staff Christmas party and then grab a hot chocolate to go see the lights. The drummers were excellent too! Fun to ring the bell. There needs to be a bench or two where people can stop and rest as people in our group had mobility issues but still loved the walk.

Quick and easy to check out, wouldn't take more than an hour, but you will never want to leave the place. Its beautiful, calm and refreshing. Well maintained and worth a visit. Tickets are cheaper after 5 pm and please note that the tickets are sold in the visitor center located outside the garden. There is a bell which you can ring. The staff are really friendly. Rest rooms are located in the tea house.

I had a great visit early in the morning when there was only staff there. I would highly recommend visiting at an off-peak time. The garden is small but peaceful and very green. It would not be the same experience if busy. Despite a miscommunication in ticket prices by the ticket staff, I had a good visit and would come again. The operations manager was friendly and helped clear up the issues by email. Do ring the bell, it is surprisingly easy to do so and create a loud sound. Very fun.

This place is must do when in Lethbridge. Especially for the winter festival of lights display. The Cafe and restaurant are very clean and bright. The washroom has to be one of the cleanest in the city.
Lots of parking and it's free.

We enjoyed the serenity of the gardens as they were meant to be serene. The walk along the paths and the trees were very relaxing. We went through the building on site and a young lady Noreve took the time to help us make origami birds. She also explained to us that if you make one thousand of the birds you get good luck and happiness. While we were there we got to write down a wish on a piece of paper and it was tied to a tree. We are planning another visit but either in the spring when the trees are blooming or the fall when the trees change their colours. Otherwise an enjoyable visit.

Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park is a campground located on the Milk River, renowned for its hoodoos and First Nations petroglyphs. Recently declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it offers beautiful waterfront views and a sandy beach for families to enjoy. This unique location features ancient rock art in the form of pictographs and carvings dating back to 1050 BCE.
We stayed in Lethbridge overnight and decided to do a quick trip here. It's an hour away from there. It didn't disappoint us! Beautiful area with camp sites. Make sure you have your hiking shoes and sticks. We'll definitely come back to hike more and paddle in the river.

Absolutely the best hike! Such history and amazing scenery. Saw tons of birds and even a Bull Snake. It was at least 5' long! The one rock formation looked like an old man with a big nose and hat like Toad from Mario.
Will definitely be back to visit. The Western Meadowlarks were everywhere!

The park is awesome, the campground is awesome! One of my favourites. There’s showers (2$ if I remember correctly), a beach (no pet allowed), you can bring your air mattress or whatever floating device to enjoy a lazy-river style ride, and the hoodoo trail is spectacular 👍🏻 I’ll certainly go back there on next summer! Drinking water has a weird taste though; bring your water container.

Wonderful vacation location. Be warned that this is typically a very hot destination in summer. Was only here for 2 nights of camping but got to enjoy a lot of the activities in that time: floating down the Milk River, exploring the hoodoos, taking one of the UNESCO tours of the restricted area, walking all of the hiking trails, taking in an evening interpretative shows and visiting the visitor centre and gift shop. You don't want to miss the beach, the cute bunnies, deer, and resident owl.

Very intriguing place to visit. The landscape is unique and offers scenic views, and not only in the summer! We went on a beautiful sunny day in January, it was calm and peaceful and there were hardly any other people around. There is an out-and-back trail to follow as well as some smaller loop trails and a campground.

The Hoodoos at Writing on Stone are so much more impressive than the Drumheller. I have been there twice now, and on our last visit, we took the guided tour into the private area and were very impressed with the scenery and formation of the Hoodoos. It was interesting to hear the stories told about the history. It just left me puzzled as some of the stories appear to be tales passed down generations. But it was well worth the tour.

Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park, Alberta's newest UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a truly remarkable place that seamlessly combines natural beauty with cultural significance. This sacred space offers a unique experience filled with stunning landscapes and fascinating history.
One of the highlights of my visit was joining the Markings of Aisinapi guided tour, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. Our guide, Rebecca, was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also passionate about sharing her insights into the Blackfoot people and the remarkable markings they left behind. Her enthusiasm and genuine love for the park made the tour both educational and captivating.
Preservation is paramount when it comes to sites like Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park, and it is evident that great care is taken to maintain its natural and cultural integrity. The importance of preserving this place for future generations to learn from and appreciate cannot be overstated. It is a testament to the park's commitment to conservation and the recognition of its historical significance.
While exploring the park, keep your eyes peeled for the diverse wildlife that calls this area home. From rabbits to rattlesnakes, there is a good chance of encountering some of these fascinating creatures. However, it is worth noting that cell service may be limited in certain parts of the park. To ensure a smooth visit, I highly recommend downloading an offline map beforehand.

I love taking my kids here. There is so much to learn. All the hikes are easy, but it does get really hot amongst those formations, so make sure you have plenty of water for you and your dog.

Took the hoodoo trail hike which was a short 2.5km and an easy hike. Beautiful scenery and loved being in the energy of this wonder.
Cool spots to visit throughout hike and nice places for meditations. Definitely worth checking out to say the least. Blessed to have some of these beautiful spots in Alberta a short drive away from Calgary.

One of the most beautiful places to visit and camp at in Alberta. The sites were big and quiet, with animals wandering through the sites through the day.
The tour of the carvings was very informative and has great views of the river. The hiking trail out to the battle scene is perfect for an afternoon adventure. Just keep in mind that very little of the park is accessible due to how much of the landscape is more rugged.
Micaela Dawn — Google review
Love this place. Similar to Dinosaur Provincial Park but definitely worth a visit. Drive down the road towards the campground entrance and up towards the scenic viewpoint. The Battle Scene Hike is in this area separate from the visitor centre one or follow the hoodoo trail

Amazing location. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a very modern visitor center. There are paid guided tours, but they also have a little tour book for self-guided tours.
There is drinkable water and coin-operated showers on site.
The rock formations/hoodoos are spectacular in person. Pay attention for plants you won't find in Northern Alberta, especially rare grasses and cacti.
Weather can change in a heartbeat. Even if it says 0% chance of rain, that can become "severe thunderstorm warning" unexpectedly, as happened to us yesterday.
Overall, highly recommend this place! Bring a swimsuit since the Milk River runs right beside the campground.

Amazing place with rock formations of different shape and sizes. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a very modern visitor center. Milk river runs beside the camp grounds. Scenic views and beautiful walks. You can find many rare species of plants and cacti.

It was interesting and exciting to see petroglyphs” created by the Blackfoot in person” and up close.
There is a visitor centre with more information so it would be a good idea to go a half hour earlier than your scheduled tour to be able to read and see the exhibits.
The tour guide showed us the carvings and explained what she could, as it is “anyone’s guess” what they really meant. The whole experience was great, the only part I would try to improve is to avoid making a couple of off-jokes about the drawings, I think it isn’t necessary.

Very nice provincial park along the Milk River in Southern Alberta. We visited in late April, the Visitor Centre was not open. The campground and day use area are quite nice. The Hoodoo Trail along the Milk River is excellent. The rock art was a bit underwhelming.

Another hidden gem in Alberta! Very interesting history. You can stretch your legs a lot or a little; depends on if you do the whole trail or you can drive between certain points and walk to writings/drawings. It is a shame that people think they need to "add" to the writings with their own. Be aware of the Rattlesnake migration in the fall as there were 10 spotted the day we were there 😬, we didn't see any though!

• My site was almost perfectly level.
• It was very spacious and quite deep, could have easily accommodated a much bigger rig.
• My RV (26’) and toad fit in with plenty of room to spare
• Site had power (30 amp), picnic table and fire pit
• There are several pit toilets throughout the campground
• There is shower building with flush toilets, showers are $2.00 for 5 minutes, not way to control temp, but water is warm
• There is a store on site with limited selection.
• Lots of things for kids and adults to do
• River is about 100 feet away, hoodoo and trails right there.
I truly enjoyed my stay there, however due to limited services, pay showers, cottonwood fluff like it was a blizzard and an infestation of moths I can only give this a 3 out of 5.

It’s an experience. It may not have the Rocky Mountains and fancy lake, but it is still very very worth it.
Being coined the UNESCO world heritage site might have something to do with it, but the facilities are amazing. Bathrooms are clean, water is facility treated, they even have a camp store open until 9pm for food and essentials. Beat that.
The Hoodos and Archeological preserve are amazing ways to spend your time if you are a history buff or take your kids for a camping treat with lots to learn about history, geography and nature.
We absolutely loved the guided tours, the amphitheater performance put on by Parks Canada staff, and interactive museum and the hoodo trail.
We also enjoyed the small beach next to Milk River. Water is clean, fast flowing, knee deep at max to cross the river. Paddle boards, tubes, anything would be fun.
Will definitely return.

Alberta is home to alien-looking rock formations called hoodoos and one of the best places to see them is at Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park, right at the southern end of the province. This UNESCO World Heritage Site isn’t just special because it’s beautiful, but it’s also sacred to the Blackfoot people, whose ancestors left rock carvings and paintings on the hoodoos, having had inhabited the land for over 10,000 years.
The hoodoos can be viewed by wandering along the Matapiiksi (Hoodoo) Trail, a 1.5-mile (2.5km) path that weaves throughout the formations, with the carvings visible as visitors walk by. There are some steep sections and the natural terrain can be a bit uneven, making it inaccessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs, but the walk isn’t overly difficult. Hikers also get a view of the sediment-laden Milk River, the only river in Canada that drains south into the Mississippi drainage system.
Rajesh Mondal (Devy Jones) — Google review
Beautiful Milk River Valley with hoodoos a plenty to climb, slide down and crawl through. What beautiful views! I've been trying to get my sons to the park their entire lives as we moved out of province before they were born. Dinosaur Provincial Park is a sprawling natural area located 48km northeast of Brooks, Alberta. This UNESCO World Heritage site boasts a wealth of dinosaur fossils, with more than 150 full skeletons having been uncovered here. The park offers a variety of Interpretive Tours for visitors to learn more about the geology and wildlife in the area, and even discover some dino bones themselves.
Super cool place to check out if you’re in the area! A lot of people recommended getting a tour and I’m sure you learn a lot more that way but it’s possible to go without. You can drive or walk the ring road, we chose to walk. Such a unique location in Alberta!

Amazing sites. The fact that there is a desert type area in the same province as mountains is crazy. Lots of different trails to walk down. We couldn’t find one that was accessible with a stroller so I recommend a hiking backpack if you have a child of that size. We did two different trails. Neither were hard, some stairs involved. There are wildlife warnings posted around. Bring a hat and water. It is like a desert dress for the season. This park has different point you can drive to, to look at fossils or different trail accesses. There is one cafe in the park but they have a decent amount of options. The visitors centre is great for learning for all ages. Also there is a great look out point right before entering.

Beautiful park with lots of family friendly hikes. The landscape and the views are incredible and second to none. The campgrounds are very nice and well maintained.

Couldn’t believe that I’ve lived in Alberta for 32 years without visiting Dinosaur Provincial Park. The landscape is breathtaking. Keep your dogs leashed and be careful where they are walking- there are scorpions, rattlesnakes, and so many cacti! Bring them lots of water because it gets hot and there is not a lot of shade on some of the hoodoo hiking trails. The dogs loved the hikes by the river best because there is plenty of shade from the trees.
The John Ware cabin is so neat. I had no idea it was there so it was a special surprise to be able to go in and learn about him and his influence on Alberta’s ranching history. Check for hours the cabin is open for viewing.
The camp site was well maintained. We stayed at a site closer to the stream. Glad we did because there are trees and shade there. Also lots of deer running around that side of the campground! The other side closest to the hoodoos are quite exposed to the hot sun and less private. Lovely to have the little cafe there. So much to do here. We spent one night here. Get there early so you have lots of time to explore. Definitely wake up early to hike a short 10-15 mins to watch the sunrise up on on the hoodoos.
Also very cool to see the dinosaur bones. They offer interactive tours. We did a self tour because we had the dogs with us. Lots of hiking trails. We didn’t have enough time to hike them all. Definitely bring bug spray. The white, tiny, sand flies (?) are worse than the mosquitos. The dogs were so bothered by them. Once we got a fire going, the sand flies and mosquitos were no longer an issue.

I arrived at around 10am. There was no one in the parking and rest area overlooking the "bad lands" formations. It was so peaceful, serene, and quiet, except for the sound of the wind and birds: I love it. I recommend this moment of solitude before descending into the valley to stop off at the visitor's centre and going on the hiking trails or driving the dirt road loop. I need to go again. The day I went was after a period of rain, so the hiking trails were somewhat slippery, especially on the sedimentary rock formations.

Best place to rest and get away from the daily grind. It always feels like I've landed on another planet. The fact that cell connection is bad makes it even easier to disconnect. 😊

This was our second time here. We really love this park. One of my favorites!
The staff are friendly, and the facilities are clean. There is a small store, takeout counter, and fire wood for purchase.
Highlight is the scenery and hiking available, there is a lot to see. Dogs are welcome, on-leash.

We drove here from Drumheller to go on the fossil safari. We met the tour guide at the museum, boarded the bus, and drove to a protected site that is not open to the public to look for fossils. The landscape is otherworldly, it was as hot as the sun, and my kid still wants to be a palaeontologist - he LOVED it. Money and time well spent.

Such a cool place!! Had a great time, only stayed 2 nights but we caught the meteor shower (august) there were lots of flies and wasps. Also there is a store and cafe with a decent menu. Breakfast options as well as lunch and dinners

This is an amazing park to visit. The camping is great. It's family-friendly with a playground as well. There are on-site showers, and the bathrooms are all recently renovated and clean.
The views and surroundings are like nowhere else in Alberta. Such a gorgeous place.

This place made me feel like a kid again, forgot how much I loved Dinasours. Can't wait to go back for more hiking trails . Pet friendly too.

We signed up a hoodoo / dinosaur fossil photography tour. Indeed there are so many fossil pieces. This is indeed one of the most hoodoo viewing places and such close that you can take photos on every step of the way! And since this is a dinosaur park, we saw many small fossils of dinosaur bones, and other stuff. Do search online for similar tours, worth every minute and every cents. This tour is the only opportunity takes visitors into the restricted areas for much more to see and observe. 2023 is the first time this kind of tours open to the public, we are fortunate to be the first group going into there. Driver and tour guide (forgot her name) is extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
Learned so much from her. Very lucky.

One of my favorite places in not only Alberta but all of western Canada. A must see at least once. In the summer months the heat here can be relentless.
Saamis Tepee, also known as the World's Largest Tepee, is a major landmark in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Standing at 65.5 meters tall and made of steel and concrete, this impressive structure was originally built for the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary before finding its current home along the TransCanada Highway. The tepee is located on the edge of the Seven Persons coulee, which includes the significant Saamis Archaeological Site believed to hold 83 million artifacts.
Such a beautiful structure! It was amazing to get the opportunity to see it all lit up. If your in the area you wont want to miss stopping here for an upclose experience as well as getting the chance to read about the history of this location and the people who shared this land. Very informative plaques and beautiful art work to accompany each ones story.

Great piece of history and insight into the natives way of living. Monument is impressive and well taken care of. Highly recommend to stop over or if you are visiting medicine Hat

This is a great spot for a rest stop while travelling the Trans Canada highway. There’s always room in the parking lot. There are walking trails into the nearby coulee. It’s next door to the Medicine Hat Tourist Center. There is one of the beautiful murals from local brick artist, James Marshall.

Free to public access. Has a nice amount of information posted inside about some of the history. Very cool spot to add a point of interest along your road trip. Only recommendation is to try and go on a day that has a breeze or not very hot at there is zero shade other than some spots inside the tepee and if you plan to read the information you won’t want to be lingering too long.

Beautiful spot right beside TransCanada highway. Good signage showing the history of the area and nice walking trails nearby with beautiful cactus flowers in bloom with the heat!

Fortunate to be here for sunset on a beautiful day. I had no idea what an important archeological site this is. Wonderful that this legacy from the '88 Olympics has a home here!

A very interesting and neat place. After drive over what seemed as though was never ending vastness of flat open prairies, you come to these Coulees, better described as scars I'm the landscape where rushing water was replaced with creeks, trees. Bushes, and cliff faces. Great place to take the dog and a must to see if driving through
Spector Palmer — Google review
No direct access from the highway but a worthwhile stop. Along with the massive teepee were beautiful pieces of artwork all laid in with the the poles. Alongside there is a decent view of Medicine Hat. Good wide spread parking area and well maintained. A golf course is right beside it adding to the greenery. A nice stop for pictures. Lots of history of the area.
Atis Metuzals — Google review
Much cooler than I expected. The art on the interior is really cool, should definitely take a look whether Medicine Hat is your destination city, or you just need to stretch your legs on a road trip.

Fort Walsh National Historic Site is a former police fort from the 1870s which offers guided tours and displays of weaponry, as well as pine forest trails. Visitors can travel back in time to witness life at a working fort during the lawless era of rotgut whiskey runners. The site provides insight into traditional crafts and skills, Metis legends passed down through generations and Canada's involvement in the aftermath of the Cypress Hills Massacre.
For the history buff and for those loving adventures, you have to visit this place. I have taken my family here twice now, and every time I learned something new. Take the time to check it out. The price is right for all families, and despite the terrain, there are shuttles here to accommodate everyone. If you're in for a quick adventure, show up whenever. However, if you want the full experience, this will require almost an entire day of your time.

Great museum, "living history", Tour guide was great and included some role plays with the guests that we could feel like being in a court in these days. Guides wore Mounty uniforms to make us feel stepping out of a time machine. I also liked that they talked about First Nations people with respect and without glorifying the past... Located in the picturesque landscape of the Cypress Hills which was a nice chance after the endless skies (or rather the endles crop fields) of Saskatchewan.

Be aware the direction from Elkwater are incorrect. Do not trust Google you be led on a wild goose chase through fields! First picture is of the "road" google will send you on, do not follow this road.
If you do make it to the fort, the museum is nice, the staff is helpful. The Fort itself is small, you won't spend much time here.

Attended Fort Walsh while camping at Cypress Hills. It is quite the experience and lots of history. The new visitor center is really nice! We sat out on a patio which was enjoyable. The tour was educational and very interesting. My family walked to the site of a massacre which was as quite the trek for what you can see there- expected more information but there is just one plaque on cougars and one on the massacre. Not worth the walk in their opinion. Thought maybe a bus tour out there after the fort tour would have been cool. Attended the picnic area by the creek which was a very nice area especially if you brought a lunch.

This site is incredible and well worth seeing.
From the drive up, leaving Maple Creek, you get treated to a fabulous drive through the rolling hills of Cypress Hills.
There is the site itself, including the Visitor Centre, with an informative movie and the Centre's displays (plus there is a little cafe) and then the recreated site, which has been faithfully restored, with tour guides who are well informed and engaging. There are also a couple of hikes you can do in this marvellous terrain.
All of the staff are very friendly. They also have some activities and displays for kids.
We loved it.

What an historic place I had no idea about which I don't recall learning in school. See the brief history below.
There is a visitor's centre at the top of the hill. If you have reduced mobility, or if it is a hot day like I went when it was 32 degrees, I recommend requesting the free shuttle that takes you up and down the hill between the fort and the centre.
As for a critique, there are Deaf accessibility signs, but there was no infrastructure in place to support audio assistance, nor was the opening video at the centre captioned for Deaf and hard-of-hearing persons. That's a major oversight, especially if they have signs for accessibility and cannot deliver on what's posted.
// A brief history: This all started with an American massacre on the local First Nations people. [There is not much info about the massacre itself, so you'll have to ask the guides. The number killed ranges from 26 to 400 First Nations people.]
Then the Canadian government came in to rush the North West Mounted Police (name reflects the North West Territories until 1905 when Alberta was established) bill to establish the national police force and have its headquarters at this newly built Fort Walsh. The musical ride was also established here. Fort Walsh was also one of the places where Treaty 6 was signed.
Unfortunately, part of Canada's dark history includes Sir John A. MacDonald who pushed out the American Indigenous Peoples who gathered here, which then rendered the demise of the fort. The RCMP headquarters moved to Regina, and the town systematically moved to Maple Creek, SK where the railway was built. What remains of the fort we see today is mostly rebuilt, although some original elements are still there, either as artifacts brought back, or spared by fire. //

Staff: incredibly friendly, very personable and helpful. Make you feel like an old friend and very welcome immediately.
While they offer zip lining and eBike rentals, we only got a week pass for Disc Golf and the course is great 👍. Most of the holes are very short and only require putters but still challenging thanks to lodgepole pine trees! The layout and scenery are top notch, course is well designed and marked out. It's a great place to work on your short game! Only suggestion would be to add a garbage and recycle bin at the halfway point. The merch they sell in the base is pretty great too!

Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, 3 Pine Ave, Maple Creek, SK S0N 1N0, Canada
Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, located at the border of Alberta and Saskatchewan, is Canada's first provincial park. It features the picturesque Cypress Hills, reaching 580 meters high and offering a range of activities for nature enthusiasts. The park spans 400 square kilometers and boasts diverse landscapes including forests, wetlands, grasslands, bluffs, prairies, and hills. Visitors can enjoy camping, biking, hiking, skiing in winter months as well as water sports and wildlife watching.
Been there two years in a row now. Lots of walking/biking trails. General store has almost everything and is very reasonably priced. Enjoyed the ice cream and food at Dar’s Little Dipper. My only complaint is there is not much around for water/lakes but the small lake in the park is still fairly big enough to enjoy for a couple hours.
Peggy Anderson — Google review
If you’re camping or planning a day trip then this park is for you. Staying here in only resort will cost you in arm’s and leg’s.
There is nothing available in park. There is small general store, small restaurant and that’s all. If you are coming after September long weekend then you will find everything close even General Store and restaurant.
Park itself is pretty good but nothing like Prince Albert National Park.
Park fee is $11.00 per vehicle I believe but not sure as we want off season and ticket office was closed.
There are good hikes, camping facilities and other outdoor activities during the season.

Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park is one of the most beautiful places in Saskatchewan. There are lots of things to explore.
We tented in #67 in Terrace and the site was lovely. Terrace is quite sloped so plan where to raise your tent accordingly. Unfortunately it is quite open to site #23 and we had some loud talkers for neighbours. There was no patrol of the park to enforce the 24 quiet times. We had ear plugs and used them.
Loch Leven was lovely to paddle, we launched off the beach, there is parking nearby. Conglomerate Cliffs are lovely, as is Bald Butte and more.
Will definitely be back!

A beautiful park with much to do. There are a few activities to keep kids and adults engaged including the zip lining and seg way tour. The seg way tour was really fun and we learnt some interesting info for our guide.
The area is beautiful and one must see the cliffs. There are lots of hikes from all levels of skill. Fort Walsh is worth seeing to gain an appreciation of how easy we live nowadays. Campsites and facilities are nice. One note: lodgepole pine have their pines up high so there is little privacy between campsites. Otherwise, this area is great. There are plenty of dining options and the general store has lots of goods incase you forgot even the most obvious such as food.

This is my 2nd time visiting cypress hills. We camped in centre block in the meadows campground this time and I wasn't impressed with the campsite. It was basically an open field with rv sites. The first time I camped here, we stayed in an incredible campground surrounded by lodge poles. I wouldn't camp here again unless I could get the same campground as the first one.
Points of interest: sunset at Lookout point and Blad butte have amazing views. Both areas require driving up some dodgy roads and bald butte is a short hike up a Lil trail. Bring good shoes!

This is a great provincial park in Saskatchewan! I come by myself or with my husband, always tent in Deer Hollow and go there primarily for the hiking 🥾 in the lodgepole pine! There are lots of great trails and horseback riding right in the campground area which I have also done and enjoyed. Golf course is great too and I have played on trips with my husband. The general store is full of all kinds of things and one of the best I have seen in a campground! Maple 🍁 Creek is a nice stop on the way in and I highly recommend a stop at Rafter to fill up your growler with their locally brewed craft beer!

First time at Cypress Hills this year. It's a fantastic park. Would recommend at least 4 nights stay to take everything in. Washrooms were very clean, including the odd outhouse building. Nice warm showers you don't have to pay for and free campfire wood. Hiking trails are very well groomed. All employees in the park were very friendly. Hardly any tree coverage in the Meadows campground, would highly recommend selecting a site on the outer edge. Water craft rentals are very reasonably priced and enjoyable.

We spent the week in the Sleepy Hollow group site and peaceful doesn't begin to describe it. We had one set of looky loos but otherwise the serenity of this corner just soaked in.
The park activities kept the 20 of us occupied most days and the hill provided great exercise. Setting up my office for one day at the crest of the hill to get cell reception provoked lots of smiles and laughter.

This place really appears to have it all! My site in deer hollow was quiet, secluded, nested among a beautiful pine forest. I was given maps with plenty of hiking trails. The bathrooms are flush toilets with a sink and a light. Water is pitable. Firewoid, free. Showers are free. (But not walking distance from some sites.) There are stores, interpretive centre, pool, swimming, but you can also just commune with nature and avoid the hub-ub.
I'd love to come back to enjoy the hiking and go visit the nearby national historic site!
The food is amazing - whether attending an event or the Horizon restaurant in the casino!

Last night's George Canyon show was fantastic. The food was very tasty albeit a bit chilly. Staff member delegating tables to the buffet was busy visiting and left many gaps in the buffet line . This caused a slow service to be even slower. All in all the evening was pretty darn good.

Looked big and excitable from the outside. The inside was small and boring.
As soon as you open the main doors, 10 feet past the threshold and you can be sitting on a vlt. The round room felt super cramped. The smokers area was also quite cramped. The restaurant attached too the floor had the most elbow room but was literally the best thing this place had to offer. Good food and service, the 2 stars is for the restaurant, take it as a 5* good job. The loss of the 3* is due to anesthetics, decor and set up of the casino. Quite annoying to get around inside. And you can still smell smoke in the non smoking areas.
Thor Macleod — Google review
The casino is a bit run down. Several live tables but during the week only one dealer. The main thing was the collection of VLTs. The food area was small, dimly lit and had a very low ceiling. They were renovating the washrooms sooooo I guess there's hope for future improvements.

The Tunnels of Moose Jaw is a significant tourist attraction that features an extensive tunnel system with a rich history. Constructed in 1908, the tunnels were used by Chinese immigrants and played a role in Prohibition. Today, visitors can take guided tours to learn about the difficulties and discrimination faced by Chinese workers during their journey to Canada for better fortunes. The tunnels also have connections to Al Capone and his bootlegging operations during the 1920s.
Three tours available, highly recommend. Albeit, I wished the Capon tour had more historical information rather than just the "show". The ticket place has impressive architecture!
Millicent Leugner — Google review
This was a super fun experience as well as very informative. My heart goes out to the actors who work in the tunnels. I hope they get proper breaks. Everyone does a superb job, and is well rehearsed. The antiques are also very real and altogether you do get a feeling of being immersed in a chapter of Al Capone's story.

We had a wonderful time. We decided to bring our exchange student from France to experience the tunnels and it was so fun. I’ve lived in Moose Jaw my entire life and have just now had this experience. I heard there were more jump scares and running from gangsters in the early years when my son went with school. That would have been fun too! 😊

Great! Booked the package of three tours over three days... excellent value. The guides are in character and discuss historical happenings (somewhat fictionalized) and real world issues related to Canada's history. The guides make the experience really fun with their role playing...and a lot of effort has been put into the infrastructure (tunnels have been made safe, props and furniture are VERY detailed and realistic.) So intersting and fun!

We were on the B24 & PTF combo and it was such a fun, expository and amazing tour. The actors did a great job weaving us into the stories which made the stories more relatable and believable. The B24 had a startrek vibe and got the kids so engrossed. The PTF tour is such an emotive one.
The costumes, the props, everything was on point! I can definitely see why pictures/videos of the Tunnels aren't allowed... it will be a spoiler alert for people who are yet to visit. I encourage you to visit if you haven't!
Pictures attached to this review aren't of the Tunnels.

The tunnels a moose charw is definitely something to add to your bucket list especially if you know anything about Al Capone and prohibition and liquor running in Canada United States this is fantastic the original tunnels is a good tour it’s kind of a show with actors in it it is really an interesting thing and a part of history and well done clean and worth the money you spend,,, We were on a band trip and brought the kids obviously had no idea who Al Capon was and they were amazed and thought it was fantastic,, I myself have been to the tunnels a number of times in the past and really enjoyed this visit just as much as the others and I believe they added to it,,, So for all those reasons I give them a five star rating and would definitely bring family kids and friends here again to visit a real part of history,,

Now the passage to fortune was a different vibe altogether…it was our first time going through it….absolutely broke my heart what the Chinese had to endure to try and make a better life for their families 💔 The tour guide at 3:15 on Saturday had every detail committed to memory, blew my mind how informative she was about the detailed history of how their lives unfolded in the laundry and the hardships they faced every day for so many years! Incredible acting on her part, she went in and out of character so professionally, I could have believed she was who she had to portray!!! All in all both tours were of the highest excellence and I would definitely recommend if you are stopping in moosejaw, a must see!!! Can’t wait to try bunker 24, we have heard great things!!!

We loved loved loved the chicago actor guy. Great acting he was our favourite, Well done. Thought there would be more scary things happening. Scaring the guests, i dont know something a bit more of a pop.
The bar keep could have been a real person instead of a robot. Same as a few other spots. And in the fortune tour could have had real people in parts the real time furnature and things were pretty cool to see, but again could have been more theatrical stuff going on.
The bunker 24 actor we feel was the least favourite of them all not a lot of energy invested and could have had some theater people in the training rooms
The videos in the lobby made it look so spectacular but the actual guided tours could be better in my opinion.

This was one of the coolest activities my family has ever done! My face literally hurt from smiling so much. The actors were amazing and stayed in character. It was a perfect presentation while also having the audience engage at certain points. I plan on coming back to do the other tours!

The second time being here.
First one was with my mom and grandma, although their cannot understand English, they still enjoy the shows.
This time is with my boyfriend, we attended fortune tour and Chicago tour, we enjoy the tours very much. It introduce the stories of that time, which we will never experience again.
The stories of Moose Jaw is very interest. The tour guides are very kind and the stories they told is very vivid, you will enjoy it for sure.
I think the fortune story is must seen tour, as a Chinese, I learned a lot from it.
Another tour we attended is Chicago, although I’m not that interest in wine story, I still enjoy the entire tour very well.
I’m pretty sure if I visit next time, I will attend the 24 buckle for sure.

We recently completed the Bunker 24 tour and had a great time. The tour guide (Chance) did a great job with the character, the props and visuals were well done and really represented a different time. Would highly recommend as a fun outing for anyone.

What an amazing experience! We took the Chicago Connection and the Passage to Fortune tours, both were about an hour long, very informative and interactive. The one hour was filled with learning and fun from start to finish, the cast characters do an amazing job! Well worth the visit! We bought our tickets a few days in advance, I highly recommend this as it’s quite busy!

The Chicago Connection tour was interesting and engaging. Our 4 year old son enjoyed it as well. The staff are so young and maybe that's a bit distracting, if they were older it might be more believable.

So much fun!
We had a great experience here doing the Bootleggers tour. It was educational and interactive. The staff were great, and the gift shop was stocked with fun souvenirs such as key chains, stickers and t-shirts. The tour far exceeded our expectations. There are no photos allowed during the tour which means you get the full experience without distractions.
Slot machines, poker & table games offered in a traditional venue with a cocktail lounge.
I stopped for a bowl of soup and was very glad I did. I ordered the broccoli and cheddar soup. It was fresh and hot and so filling. Afterwards, I decided to game for a bit and won on my third spin. I played a few games and won quite a few times. As I was on my way to Manitoba, I couldn't stay long, but I certainly enjoyed my time here. The casino was busy with a great gaming atmosphere. I would definitely consider stopping here again for lunch and a little fun.
One thing to note: I drive a bug pickup and had a hard time finding anywhere to park an oversized vehicle that would not fit in the public parking. I would have thought parking would be a little better, maybe it is, but it wasn't obvious for a non-resident.

Its a cute little casino, has everything you would expect. 3 table games, and poker table on the weekends. Slots were all nice and newer style. I would love a few more different games and variety, the main popular games were always being played and the outsider ones remained empty. The staff there were awesome, from the security, slot attendant, to kitchen. Everyone there is extremely friendly, didn't run into one non friendly staff member. Casino isnt massive, almost undersized for a city like MJ, but it does get the job done for the most part.

For the size, this casino is quite relaxed... The food definitely exceeded my expectations, the chef was more the willing to accommodate my needs. -- the bison burger is amazing here! and for the price, can't get a better burger in moose jaw. The only con, but is understandable, is that me and my fiance were ID'd, lol. 30+ but I'll take the compliment.

Nice place. Clean and friendly.
They were under renovation when we was there but a good variety of table games. They were all full on a Saturday evening so we weren't able to play.
Mostly slot machines.
Security at the front was very friendly and the ladies in the cage were great!
Little place for food and beverage.

Temple gardens parking lot was full as usual, the hotel reception stated that street parking was their only option for hotel guests. As we have an expensive vehicle, and the huge amount of foot traffic past the parked cars, we were hesitant to park overnight in an alley.
Upon checking with the casino security, they graciously offered their lot despite not being affiliated with the hotel.
This is the service that makes the casino excellent. Great job.

One of the elder cleaning staff members at the casino is just awesome. She's super friendly and full of energy, which makes her a real pleasure to be around. She's always working hard to keep the place spotless, and she never forgets to throw in a warm greeting. Honestly, her positive vibe really makes the casino feel like a welcoming place for everyone.

Small, very small, casino with slots and 3 table games. There was no poker this evening due to staff shortage. Recommend calling ahead of time if you’re here for the table games. We stopped in for half an hour as we stayed across the street. Security and entry staff were friendly. Paid parking

It was your typical slot machine casino and some tables. Good to kill an hr. Didn’t win but the varying values to bet were nice. Slow drain or lose it fast.
Clean and clean bathrooms
Parking seemed you have to pay, thought that was a little lame.

Went to the bar and had a terrible experience. The bar tender were very bad and they dont know how to make a drink. Also their alcohol serving is very little. Would never go here to drink again.

Nice, tiny and warm place. My meal is $15. I love poker, but the poker desk is only available for Friday and Saturday, and there only one poker desk.

They are undergoing renovations right now so the place is a lot smaller than before. I played on several machines, with little to zero luck. There was barely a hope of winning on any of them. I thought the point of a casino was to keep you there playing with a little bit of a pay out. Nope. All 4 people in our party lost it all within 30 mins and left. It was a friend's idea to go, so I tagged along. I won't be returning any time soon. Losing money isn't a good feeling, so I know a casino isn't the place to have fun at. Bathrooms were clean and modern, so that was a big A+ on their part, and cashier was friendly.

I thought it was actually quite a small place, however if your oozing for a quiet little gambling oasis, this is the place to visit. First a treatment at the mineral spa across the street and then relax at the casino. It also has a little selection of slots to enjoy. The food and beverage bar is a handy place for a snack and perhaps a cocktail. I enjoyed my little visit here.

Although they are going through renovations, they have managed to keep the casino running. They still have tables running and enough slot machines to keep customers happy. They also have had their lounge/restaurant running the entire time. I think this transition was well planned. Good on them!

Was treated like garbage at this casnio bye the pit boss, was kicked out for asking why he was so rude. They refuse to open the tables for highrollers, they say they are under staffed but there is numerous people standing around and the casnio appreas to be dirty. Felt unwelcome been to every casnio in the province this has been the worst experience out of all of them. I suggest driving 2 hours to the Dakato dunes casnio at least they will treat you like your welcome there.

I’m not much of a gambler but was given a voucher to use here with my hotel stay. It was quiet as my stay was early on in the week amidst back to school/work season beginning.
When I first got there, I was signed up for a casino card and given some extra play cash to use!
The layout of the casino is very nice. The restaurant/lounge portion of the facility was closed when I was there but had that been up and running, I could imagine how hopping the place must be as a rule.
I’m sure my next stay will include a quick trip down to the casino for a few spins as it seems only right to do!
