Very interesting museum, lots of different areas of exhibitions. 3 stories and there is an elevator. Loved the boutique shop which had so many wonderful art pieces for purchase. If you have an afternoon to spare you should really visit…..you’ll be glad you did. So very nice!

This was a really nice experience. Floor upon floor of exhibits. On our visit we saw the amazing Women in Sports over the years exhibit. The clothing worn for each sport was highlighted and displayed. It was fascinating. Stop in the gift shop on your way out! Friendly staff and there are activities for kids and a place where they can do art projects.

Last year I went to the Figge for the first time for our Art Educators of Iowa concert and I was absolutely flabbergasted about why I’d never been before. First, the were excellent hosts for our conference but I really want to compliment the curators. When I had visited there was a very diverse showcase of artists, and they were also honoring Dia de los Muertos. The space is large enough to spend an afternoon looking and learning about the artwork. I would recommend looking for any events that they host in the gallery as well; we participated in a sound bath meditation that was really special.

As artists ourselves we were pleasantly surprised at the artworks on exhibit! Excellent * we enjoyed it very much! An added bonus - it was a free entry for seniors and they also had entertainment by the UNI dancers which was very nice!

Terrific museum. We were fortunate to visit on a day with free entry for the entire family! Helpful staff, great collection of 19th and 20th century American and European art. Bonus points for easy parking.

Love this place!! Great for the kids! They have awesome permanent galleries that are awesome to look at every visit and they have awesome temporary exhibits. We went to the women and sports through history which was fascinating, we went to the wizard of oz exhibit which was to die for as an avid collector of all things oz! They also did a Buddhist relic tour once that was soo moving! Great space for hosting private events and they also show films from time to time that are fascinating!

I love that the Figge Art Museum has worked on inclusivity and representation in their curation of art. They also offer multiple free entry opportunities so everyone has opportunity immerse themselves in the art.

We went to our annual family reunion, and this museum was a great pass time in the area. Very interesting mix of art and perspectives. Extra kudos for the “Anne Lindberg: think like the river with poet Ginny Threefoot” installation.

One day activity for those who live in Quad cities, the Museum displays arts created by students of different school districts in the nearby areas. They also displayed fashion in the US, back in the 1800s.

What a treasure for Davenport, IA! I highly recommend visiting this beautiful museum if you appreciate fine art. I can tell that it’s run by true enthusiasts & lovers of the art world. Such a unique place! Great gift shop too!

This is a wonderful small town museum with a varied collection stretching from European masters to Haitian multimedia. The Ansel Adams collection and the Grant Wood exhibits are not to be missed. Wonderful location on the shore of the Mississippi and there is a nice coffee bar and terrace. Overall a star and we give it four clams ( five stars on the millennial rating) on the coveted Five Quahog Rating Scale.

Oh Figgee Art Museum was a Blast from the Past
I just happen to go the weekend of Halloween and they had Day of the Dead displays a fortune teller a wet bar a lounge like a little museum and they had a photo place you can put a hat or funky glasses. I did bothe. Drinks excellent. They also have their own gift shop. Parking Great it's the building to the right of Figgee. I believe that is North Very clean place easy access I'm mobility and had plenty of room to push my walker w/ me

The Figge is such a great resource for the community! There’s so much to see and learn about here - whether you’re really into art or not. The Life and Art of Charles M. Schultz was fascinating, and the works by local art teachers in #Beyond the Classroom was inspiring! There’s something for everyone here! I’d highly recommend a visit!

Various art here. There is lots of wide open space and some quiet viewing to really absorb the conveyed concepts and messages in the many great works.
Friendly staff and rotating special exhibits.

A nice small town museum, not the biggest collection, but decent enough to spend a few hours. I enjoyed both the Snoopy and Haitian art. Lost a star as I was hoping for a little more based on the price point

I visited when they had the brilliant Charles Schultz exhibit. Just fantastic! My entry was included with my cruise fare on my voyage with American Queen Voyages on American Countess.
The Vander Veer Botanical Park is a vast sprawling park that was established in 1885. It boasts of a historic rose garden, seasonal greenhouse shows and a duck pond which provide visitors with an opportunity to take in the beauty of nature. The park offers several gardens, including a long pathway of trees for those who love to walk and enjoy the views. The friendly staff allows well-behaved dogs into the gardens while outdoor bathrooms are available for convenience.
What a beautiful place to take in the outdoors or go inside and see such a wonderful and beautiful flowers and plants . There are so many gardens to enjoy, a pond to sit and watch the ducks and water fowl, a long walkway of trees, and so much more . The staff are also very friendly and helpful. They have bathrooms on the outside of the building and you can even take well behaved dogs inside . This is definitely a place I could everyday and see how nature changes . There is no admission.

Very cute, small greenhouse filled with tropical flowers in full bloom. A fun little side trip that'll take 5-10min to see
Mark Temple — Google review
Beautiful gem of a place! This review is based more on the children’s park which is very accessible and definitely had a lot of thought in to kids with special needs. The text in the park is English and Spanish and has a feature with braille. There’s regular slides and a roller slide (which I’ve heard can be good for those with sensitives to regular slides / static electricity). They have the bigger swings with harness for older kids, accessible xylophone, spinning seats and the see saw is designed to be accessible as well. The park was extremely clean, no debris, no graffiti.
We took a walk down by the pond which was in good condition minus some small debris and the botanical garden itself was small but nicely taken care of with a little house for small kids to run in to and koi pond (people threw change in there when there is donation spots elsewhere). It is FREE. They also had bathrooms open that I didn’t check out.
Overall this place was wonderful and can’t wait to take my kid back to play! We don’t have a need for wheel chair accessibility but I truly love that this park is accessible and that if a child who needs these features come they can play right alongside other children.

One of the best parks in the Quad Cities! It has a nice playground, beautiful lagoon, tons of well-maintained natural areas, incredible rose garden, and fantastic conservatory! It is a great place to get family pictures, or just take a stroll and enjoy the outdoors. I would highly recommend a visit.

My son and I love this park. Plenty of space to walk and play, the scenery is beautiful, and it's fun seeing the ducks and geese!
Lauri Hageman — Google review
Absolutely an amazing green house open on scheduled days so check on the hours. Usually has an honor system for take home potted plants. There is a rare flower there as well only blooms once in a couple years. Definitely worth your time spending an afternoon in the center and the gardens outside.

Always 5 stars. Great place, great people, good cause. Who doesn't love a greenhouse full of cool plants? During Christmas their light display is beautiful, too!
Brit Puffett — Google review
Instantly became one of my favorite places to visit and this was my first time there! I haven't even gone inside the conservatory yet either. Very well kept park. The amazing assortment of flowers and vegetables alone was worth the trip. I had never heard of blue pumpkins or black tomatoes. Just strolling along the tree mined paths with my best girl under my arm was so fantastic. It's all free also folks.
Tim Keister — Google review
I absolutely love Vander Veer Park & Botanical Center! I go quite often after work. To de-stress, see the beauty of the flowers in the center and the ducks on the pond. One of my favorite places for serenity.
Kristina Keppy Lynch — Google review
I only had a chance to visit the playground, but saw there is a lovely rose garden, a bridge, and I heard a waterfall. There is also a large conservatory.
This place is fantastic. The kids playground was pretty new and in great condition (outdoor / nature themed). There was an accessible ramp at the playground as well. Playground is set next to a lake full of geese.

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon at this botanical park in Davenport, Iowa. It was established in 1885 and covers 33 acres. It has a Grand Allee of large trees and gardens, leading to an old stone fountain. The Conservatory is excellent and so is the hosta glade, with so many different species of hosta.

It's small but a great spot to enjoy the plants and Holiday lights for christmas.

A beautiful destination even in the winter. I always appreciate amazing presentation no matter the season.

Very nice park with large duck pond and a lighted water fountain. The children's playground has been upgraded in the last year. Plenty of park benches for relaxing and if walking is your thing this park will please you. It's located in a central part of the inner city of Davenport, Iowa. The botanical building isn't huge, but is well appointed with many flowers and plants. Recommend a visit.
It’s cool when you pull up and recognize the store and the old car out front. It’s pretty cool in both stores recognizing the picks from various episodes. This store is more recognizable than the Nashville store and it’s a good way to spend an hour or so. Lots of souvenirs to purchase. I was kind of hoping Mike would be there. But again we missed him. Nobody was at the Nashville store either about a year ago. Still if you’re a fan of American Pickers this is a cool stop if you’re in the area. Also, LeClaire is beautiful too!!!
Paul Lamison — Google review
Great place to visit if you're a fan of American Pickers, it's very clean and neat because they still film new episodes there. I like their t-shirts & stickers, staff was very polite and evenly told me about Franks recovery progress.
I will be back soon,LaClaire is a beautiful little town on the Mississippi River.
Konrad AmunRa — Google review
Hubs was wishing more of the big items were for sale, but all in all it was a fun excursion! Loved the Nashville shop and so glad we finally made it to Le Claire!
Kaitlin Winn — Google review
It's a cool stop if you're a Pickers fan. Expect it to be set up more like a mini museum and gift shop. We'd already been to the Nashville location and knew what to expect. There's something extra special about coming to the original location in LeClaire. Some employees were just stocking merchandise, but a few were very knowledgeable and could answer questions about some unique items.
R Davis — Google review
The store is literally 5-10 minutes off the interstate and very easily accessible. This is a TELEVISION SHOW location! There are souvenirs for the show and some items they’ve picked that are for sale. If you are looking to pick through lots of rusty gold go do what Mike & Frank do… this is more of an homage to the show which I enjoyed immensely with my 7 year old daughter.

It was neat to see many of the items that they have picked on the shows! The larger facility was not open to the public when I went due to shooting part of the show but the smaller shop was so quaint. The staff were super helpful and friendly!

Great antique store. Fun to poke through. Right on the Mississippi River.

The newer building is mostly souvenirs. The older building is more like a museum with most "cool" things being not for sale. Still fun to see just once.

Located in the small town of LeClaire Iowa along the Mississippi River.
This store is the home to the TV series American Pickers. You will see many items featured in the show that are either for sale or just in display.
Most items were not for sake but it was fun to look at and browse. They sell many souvenir items such as tshirts, keychains, etc.
We look forward to coming here every time we are in town. The atmosphere is excellent and the whisky is top notch! The staff are super friendly as well. If you are a whisky person you definitely need to visit this place!

Love the atmosphere of the downtown lounge. So many fantastic drinks it's a struggle to choose, everything I've tried has always been phenomenal. Reasonably priced for craft cocktails. The Le Claire location is also nice, love the domes in the winter and the Tiki God is so much fun when with a group!
Carrie Ketelsen — Google review
This place has some really great cocktail options and a pleasant little patio area. I recommend the Barrel Old Fashioned! Also, their offer of a flight for $5 which can then be applied as a bottle discount is a good deal compared to most distilleries who charge $10 or more. I wasn't taken with their rye, but the Cody Road Single Barrel Bourbon was far more interesting and I left with a bottle.
Mike Oliveri — Google review
Stopped to pick up some Bourbon. A great location right on the Mississippi River. They had a patio and built tasting tables/booths to keep you warm with a great view of the river. This is a must visit if you are in the Davenport/ Leclaire, Iowa area.

10/10 experience! First time visiting from out of town, and sitting in the outside heated room was magical with the snow. The Dionysus is a grape lovers dream and all of their whiskeys are excellent. So happy we stopped by here!

We had a reservation at the cocktail castle last night, wow! What an amazing experience! The server, Kaitlyn was very knowledgeable about the cocktail options, she was funny and checked on us regularly! The cocktails were amazing, if you can, reserve a cocktail castle it's worth it! We also had the opportunity to meet Sean, one of the original at MRD his hospitality and conversation was so great! It was so awesome to learn more about Mississippi River, while enjoying amazing cocktails!

We visited the Davenport location and this place was fantastic and amazing and more. Our server Jenn was so attentive to our needs and just made us feel so comfortable. The variety of drinks were great and very affordable and we can’t wait to bring more people to this hidden gem in the Quad Cities. Lastly Jenn learned some new words “we like that” and C.R.E.A.M…that’s an inside joke. Thanks for a wonderful evening.

One of our favorite stops in Le Claire. So many delicious cocktails and the menu changes often enough to keep it interesting. This visit we sat outside overlooking the Mississippi but I also love sitting in the room with the giant stills because it smells so good. It's also nice to shop the bottles for sale because sometimes they are not all available in the stores.
Steen Allard-Lawson — Google review
We stopped by during a weekend getaway and I have to say this place is pretty cool. Set on the banks of the Mississippi with an excellent view. Very comfortable atmosphere and a wide variety of tasty cocktails. We took the tour and Sarah, the tour guide was great! I would highly recommend the Cody Road Single Barrel Rye and Single Barrel Bourbon.

Nice distillery! Decor is great. Very clean and the staff is friendly.
The Iowa’s Best Old Fashion was my choice. Pretty fair old fashion.
They have a great selection of drinks. I would have sampled more if I was staying in town.
The only complaint was the amount of flies inside. It was super distracting.
Would visit again.

My brother, Mark, worked here since it opened. He loved this place and they loved him. He passed away in November and we celebrated his life at the their event center in January. Ryan, the owner, and Monica were insistent in offering their venue for this gathering of family and friends. Mark was greatly blessed to work with these wonderful caring people. They even let us decorate in Big Orange style for his love of Tennessee Vols. I definitely want to make a road trip back one day.
Elegant, triple-decked riverboat for day, overnight & sightseeing cruises with dining.
Really great experience. The subtle vibration of the boat and the gentle sway of the Mississippi are very relaxing! Crew is friendly and knowledgeable. Food is good and there is too much of it. The Twilight is beautifully appointed, with many decorative features. There is WiFi onboard. We booked the 2 day cruise and I have learned a ton about the Mississippi river culture that I was not expecting. Overnight stay is at the Grand Harbor Resort and water park; great for kids to bring a swimsuit.

If you have ever thought about taking this trip I highly recommend you go! 😊👍👍👍

This is a great trip! The boat is beautiful, the food is delicious, the captain is very knowledgeable about the river, and the staff works very hard and is friendly. Scenery is exceptional. Eagles, pelicans, and gulls are plentiful. I love how the captain points out all the interesting things, wildlife, tows, and history of the river. It is a great place to relax and ride.
I have taken this trip 2 times now and also the 1 day trip in the fall. I recommend highly.

Very relaxing cruise with wonderful staff! They go above and beyond to make sure you have a great time. Food is excellent and they will make accommodations for dietary needs if you communicate that ahead of time! We did a full day trip and it was enjoyable. It was a very hot day but if you sit on the shaded side of the boat, it is quite pleasant. Boat is air conditioned if you get too hot. Definitely see lots of eagles and even pelicans on the cruise. We will be back!

We took the Saturday morning cruise up to Guttenburg and back. The captain gave a lot of cool information about the history along the river. We saw about 30 bald eagles. The inside was air conditioned if you got hot. Nice light breakfast and then a mid morning snack. The brisket for lunch wasn't so hot, but the desserts were yummiest. We stopped in Guttenberg and strolled the quaint town and had ice cream at Joe's Pizza and Ice Cream. All in all it was a very relaxing and beautiful ride on the river.

Very relaxing enjoyable trip up and down the Mississippi. The captain was very informative. Saw lots of eagles. The food was very good. Always something to snack on. Entertainment was good. Spent the night in Dubuque and that was smooth. As advertised luggage was in the room waiting when we got there.
Plenty of seating on 3 decks to enjoy the outside. I would definitely recommend this trip.

We had a lot of fun. We were on the 1 1/2 hour ride that started at 1:30 PM
I am fairly new to the area and I quickly fell in love with the river so this cruise was very exciting to me.
We sat on the top deck in rocking chairs, just relaxing and chatting with the other passengers. We all decided we wanted a drink and we all got a Mississippi Mudd Slide, it was amazing. My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves!

The Riverboat Cruise was something that I'd wanted to do for years I would say over 5 years and I was glad I was able to do this 90 minute cruise it was a little over $20 a person it was about an hour going up the river going to Princeton Iowa and then it was about 30 minutes going down the river with the current. I really enjoyed this it was Scenic it was interesting
I think this would be something anyone who wants to experience more of the Mississippi River but doesn't want to spend the day or a day and a half and hundreds of dollars doing this would be a good way to get your toe in the water :-) It was safe staff was friendly I'm really glad I went and would highly recommend

Really relaxing and informative cruise on the Twilight.
Captain Kevin would point out wildlife (Bald Eagles, Pelicans, Coots, and many more) using the ships P.A. along with pointing out information about the barges we passed, and the train bridges, and the locks.
We took the 2 day cruise that starts in Le Claire, Iowa and goes north to Dubuque, Iowa.
The staff assigns a table to you as you board the Twilight which is yours for the duration of the cruise. They fed us a continental breakfast, snack, a plated lunch, another snack, and a plated dinner on the first day. The food was pretty good!
We stayed overnight at a hotel in Dubuque and had Breakfast at Tony Roma's. Then back on board we had a snack, plated lunch, another snack, and a plated dinner.
All the crew is friendly and very helpful. There is a well stocked small bar on the 3rd deck with many different beers. And they have souvenir glasses you can buy for your mixed drinks or wine.
The gift shop is open like an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon. There was magnets, key chains, light jackets, t-shirts, blankets, and other fun things branded with Riverboat Twilight embroidery.
Make sure to up on the 4th level to the pilot house, and look at the big wooden steering wheel.
Totally recommend the Riverboat Twilight as a relaxing 2 days.
Exhibits about Buffalo Bill's life & Mississippi River heritage, including an 1800s stern wheeler.
There is so much more to see here then we ever expected!!! The admission was just $5 for adults and we saw and learned so much while here. There are artifacts from many different decades to experience and learned about as well as helpful videos. And to top it off, you can see and walk through and old paddle wheel boat. All the parts are marked and explained as you got through it. Truly just a great little museum. We expected to be there half an hour and ended up spending almost two hours inside.

The buffalo bill museum is a well put together exhibition of the rich local history. I talked the the gentleman who runs the museum and he was welcoming, knowledgeable, and passionate. They have some excellent memorabilia and artifacts. One of my favorite parts is the restored wooden steamboat. It's an incredibly interesting exhibit to explore. Worth the stop. I would recommend having at least an hour or more.

Ran into a man at a little food shop down the road and was talking to him about attractions in the area. He recommended this place and we told him that we would probably go check it out after lunch and we did.
We pull up and there he is, walking us in telling us that he is the current president on the board of this museum.
We go in and he pays for my family of 5 admittance. We took the tour, my kids did the scavenger hunt and the whole experience was Great!
A lot of information and very cool exhibits in this place. The boat was very neat.
My whole family enjoyed it.
Thank you for a wonderful experience👍

An interesting mix of artefacts from the area spanning the last 200 years or so. It sometimes feels like a trek through grandma and grandpa's attic, but hey, what's not to like about poking around in an attic? The old tug Lone Star was fascinating to meander through, and the staff were all very friendly.

There is a lot to see here, not just about Buffalo Bill Cody, but also about the town of Le Claire itself. You'll pay about $5 to get in and it's well worth it. Take your time and explore. Don't forget to have a look at the old school house at the other end of the museum.
Tommy Mac — Google review
We had a great time! We had 4 kids (age 7-11) and there were so many fun things to check out. The one room school house and boat deck were the faves. Also impressive how many old timey celebrities have ties to Iowa and Illinois. This is a great experience (also adding a meal at happy joes and checking the river front after make for a great outing!)

This was a very cool little museum with lots of history packed inside. Was only $5 to get in and worth every penny. Growing up with a father that worked on the illinois and Mississippi River it brought back a flood of memories. First picture is one of many boats that my father worked on. Captain David Todd is his name. Sadly he passed away in 2020

This place is phenomenal. There is more to it than Buffalo Bill, there are also other exhibits about other famous people from Le Claire which I found very interesting. There's also exhibits showcasing local history including antique tools, photographs, textile work, and even a cute little corner about the local high school. The preserved steam boat is astounding and you can walk around inside of it and check out the engines and quarters and things. There's also a one room schoolhouse replication and the history behind that. This isn't just a museum, it's evidence of small town pride trickling through generations.
Leah Farrey — Google review
Very cool museum. Buffalo Bill was born there, and there is a tremendous amount of Buffalo Bill history. There is also a good amount of Le Claire history, as well as river history. We very much enjoyed it. If you're in the area and like history, this is a very good stop. Highly recommend.

Kid friendly, they have interactive displays, a large actually retired steamboat to explore, a one room school house, and videos as well. I learned a lot and so did my teenage son that's usually on his phone. So win! They do have a small gift shop which I liked that helps support them.

We heard from family that this was a neat stop. My kids don't generally do well with museums, but figured it was inexpensive and worth a shot.
There was no wait at all. We walked in and the front desk greeted us gleefully. We paid and she started telling us how to navigate. Then, she breaks out scavenger hunt sheets for the kids!! They've never been more excited to explore a museum in their life. There was plenty of artifacts from history about not only Buffalo Bill, but other historical figures & events of the town.
I love aviation and the father of the 'Black Box was from the area, so they have a few of his early pieces on display!
We thought this was going to be a quick 20 minute stop and we walked around for over an hour, and we could have easily spent another half hour or more watching the educational videos about the displays.
Overall, it's very affordable and worth the time. I definitely recommend the stop!
Incredible experience. Suzi our wine tasting host made our day memorable. Gorgeous view of the woods and the Mississippi River. Indoor and outdoor seating. Wine is great. No better place like it.
Bill Erbacci — Google review
Great place that's worth the drive offering uniquely legal-inspired named wines. We followed a long winding gravel road up to the top of the hill to find a small but terrific winery. We were greeted by a friendly host that was quick to answer any question we may of had. They have a decent wine selection to choose from with a few food items to pair them with. The wines we tried were absolutely delicious and I found my all time favorite wine "Serenity" there to boot. The charcuterie board we tried was yummy and full of various meats, cheeses, crackers, breads, etc... Great place, beautiful and scenic location, terrific wines.
We returned the other day and were all equally impressed. Tried some different wines than before and fell in love with a whiskey based wine named "Not Guilty" that we ended up buying 3 bottles of before leaving.

We stopped in this past spring on a trip to Clinton. This was the second time we had visited the winery, the first time was back in 2010. Both times the team inside the tasting room were just as friendly & welcoming as it can get. I highly encourage anyone traveling through the area to stop for an afternoon, have some drinks and just enjoy the views. Just noticed the case of wine we got on that trip is starting to run low so guess we will have to plan another spring trip to get some Not Guilty and other delicious bottles.

Visit one of the tasting rooms (Clinton, LeClaire, or in the Village of East Davenport). It's a fantastic experience. The wines are cleverly named. Double Jeopardy, Pursuit of Happiness, and So Sue Me Sue are some of my personal favorites.

This was our second visit to the winery in a weeks time. Can't say enough good things about this place, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The scenery is beautiful, and wine delicious. If you're in Clinton, it's worth stopping by here here at least once.

We stopped had had a wine slushy. Even though it's was 90 outside, we sat in the shade and we were comfortable. Looked out over the Mississippi River. We returned for their customer appreciation day. They had a performer doing songs.

Eagle Point Park is a picturesque city park that features breathtaking bluffs with views of the river. It boasts a historic lodge and castle turret that are open for stair climbs, along with fun play areas for children and picnic spots for families. The park also includes amenities such as a dog park and Frisbee golf course. With hiking trails, scenic vistas, and an impressive stone lookout tower, Eagle Point Park is an ideal destination to enjoy year-round outdoor activities in Clinton.
Attended a iTIP Symposium here and it was exceptional. Beautiful location, the scenery was outstanding and the care and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. A beautiful lodge worthy of all events small to large, personal and professional events. Clinton is so blessed! Thank you for the hospitality!

Everyone knows that the park has a one way drive around most of the park and yet there is still goofs think that it isn't. There is even signage stating that after the parking area by the dog park. Had to remind someone and got an I know reply and yet why was he trying to the wrong way? Also was honked at for not letting go before me even though I had the right away

We took our grandkids to Eagle Point Park, we wanted to take them to see the castle, and have them go up inside. We then took them to the playground where they had a wonderful time!

It was rainy out... a friend wanted to take me to show me the view, which was gorgeous. Apparently a lot if events held there - I can see why! Didn't get to see any of the rest of the park, but a nice stop - especially since he went out of the way to show me the view here!

Absolutely beautiful park. The views are amazing. Great play grounds for kids. Picnic areas for family's. A dog park. A beautiful castle that over looks the river. Definitely a must see. Weather your from the area or just passing threw. You have to come check this park out.

This is a very old city park. The park is very well maintain and the views over the Mississippi are fantastic, looking out over the lake formed by Lock and Dam 13. There is a overlook tower, that kids love that is built of stone with stone steps going up. There is a stone bridge built over a deep ravine. My grandsons used to love playing on the bridge. The park has a newly remodeled lodge with a large outdoor patio, where they can have weddings. The lodge has a kitchen and nice bathrooms, perfect for family get to gathers, with a beautiful view of the river. Also there are 2 nice playgrounds, and an additional roofed area for picnics. Great place for family reunions.

Nice fenced dog park area, $3 entry, $1 each additional dog. Playground for the kids and good parking. There is a "castle" feature to see if you continue down the park road. Nice old fort or lookout, they were putting up decorative winter lights when I visited.

Retail chain specializing in greeting cards, gift wrap, ornaments & gifts for all occasions.
What a wonderful, long standing, fan favorite in Geneseo. They make coffees, smoothies, Italian sodas, chai, and a few other drinks. Their fudge is to die for especially their signature fudge! It's located downtown and is near other shops and cafes worth checking out. They also have weekly specials and daily treats. Along with their punch cards, it's worth stopping in. Highly recommend a strawberry, watermelon, passion fruit smoothie or root beer Italian soda.

Coming to this amazing National Historic Marker was such a beautiful experience. I remember reading about how Ronald Reagan impacted our economy when he was our 40th President. But to see where he was born and the beauty of a small taken such as Tampico, Illinois was superb. There are older buildings and a small gift store where Mr. Reagan was born, definitely worth the travel.
Lucky Patino — Google review
Not sure what we expected here, but the tour was interesting and informative. Our tour guide/docent was animated, knowledgeable, and clever; a "born and raised" Tampico resident. She pointed out numerous items in the jam-packed exhibit and gift shop rooms. The period-restored 2nd floor Reagan apartment appeared well set and maintained. The bank replica restoration on the first floor was fascinating. Free-will donations accepted. Please tip big; they could use it.

We had a very informative tour of President Regan's birth place and history of his boyhood home. On memorial day weekend, we should celebrate our patriotism and he was one of the greatest presidents of our time. Make your way to this tiny little piece of history, you will be surprised what you learn 🤓

Stumbled across this place on the way to the John Deere historical site. Decided to take the 1 hr tour. Best 1 hour of my day spent. Learned so much about the former president and his life growing up. The tour guides were outstanding. Dixon is a great town to visit.
James Hamrick — Google review
Not open now, but I don't think there were any silver spoons on site. It was inspiring to see the home of the President who was in office when the USSR dissolved. Interesting that currently Russia is trying to recover control over the Captive Nations.
Terry E Schmidt — Google review
There are two buildings, visitor center and Reagan home. The visitor center has a 15 minute movie with a lot on his growing up in Dixon. Reagan spent his formative years here. There are also displays to read on various decades of his life. There is a free tour of the well maintained home. Both tour guides were enthusiastic and gave interesting side stories of Reagan’s family life. We spent about 90 minutes total. Cost was free. Not tremendously large or full of artifacts, but a nice facility well worth your time.

I highly recommend the tour of you are in the area.
Kevin Cronin — Google review
Visited the Gipper's boyhood home this past July 1 as the last stop on a cross-country trip that was highlighted by my summit of Mount Rainier. The visitor center provides a great introduction to Ronnie's life as a boy and young man, which would provide the foundation for his adulthood and, ultimately, his presidency. Enjoyed learning about many tales from his youth (including the time the chief of police picked him up for setting off fireworks). Guide was very well-informed and friendly. A must-see for any Reagan fan.

This was cool to see. It was immaculate and the lawn well manicured. I’m not one for history but as I age, I appreciate it more. We can all learn something from everything...what I never want to do or be like, or a fun fact I didn’t know before. I am a Hypnotist so I understand that leaning is something our brain needs to constantly be doing.

We visited the home on July the 4th. The Staff were amazing. They were so knowledgeable and were able to
Intersperse the tour with their vast knowledge of President Regan’s life and times in Dixon.
The home is small And compact, but you really get a sense of living in small town America in Tegan’s time.

Awesome covered bridge! Oh, if that bridge could talk, lol. Covered bridges are a pretty cool relic
Joshua Thurman — Google review
Such a beautiful bridge! I could feel the history in every beam and every bolt and I found myself walking it many times and taking in the views of the bridge as well as the surroundings. I will say parking area and how to get to it is has a lot to be desired as far as being marked in a very visible fashion & think that may help attract more visitors as well. I wound up parking across the street and I didn't mind the walk in the park but crossing what is obviously a main road on an extremely busy day can be very difficult. Get ready to run across the street as soon as you don't see or hear a vehicle and that can be difficult as the road bends & turns & it's difficult to see oncoming traffic. But once you're able to make it to the other side you will soon discover it's well worth it. There's a feeling you get at such a great place that is hard to describe & really needs to be felt in order to understand. The cowered bridge acts as a sort of doorway to the Veterans park & old time military vehicle which is very well preserved and surrounded by beautiful flowers. There is a memorial to all branches of the military and also a memorial to lives lost locally & also by national tragedy. It's a peaceful area decorated with colorful flowers, flags of tge different military branches as well as POW's, well kept lawns , benches & plaques which explain the dedication. There's a,stream that runs under the bridge which I did see a few people in kayaks & small fishing boats. It is definitely a place to go and be humbled.
Marcela Porras — Google review
Detoured eight miles one way from our highway route to visit and drive this bridge over Wolf Creek in Illinois. A covered bridge of lumber, beams, and planks just equals fun and nostalgia.
Sandwiched between two small trestle sections, and those are covered in ugly graffiti.
Philip R — Google review
It's a pretty basic covered bridge but thet location is beautiful and the bridge is a red and wooden, covered bridge. There is parking on both sides of the creek, one side even has a small park to pull off in. There is no swimming allowed in the creek! And there is a disease if the bridge that is privately owned with clear no trespassing signs. Overall, great spot of a picnic and a social media photo.

A neat part of history. I went there once when I was younger. Glad to see it’s still being maintained for the future generations to enjoy.
I added pictures from when a semi went through and damaged it. They are still working on it.

Really cool covered bridge. Definetly worth checking it out when in the area.
Damian Panek — Google review
It's a one car only bridge. It's mostly wooden except for metal that is tire width for the two sides of vehicles. Has water flowing underneath it. Has a cool old sign talking about fines for bringing too many cattle, horses, cows or any other livestock across it with too many at a time. Very cool. You can see the age if you walk close to it.

Very peaceful! Never any crowds. Nice and quiet with ony the sound of rushing water from the bureau creek. I have been go to this place from time to time since I was a kid. I would bring a fishing pole along and fish the banks for catfish and smallmouth bass. Still looks the same as I remembered. The red covered bridge is truely a historic site. I really hope someday that the state would put in some trails for hiking and better access to the creek.

We visited with our three grandsons, ages 12, 10, and almost 7. We all thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the home, and the archaeological dig site was really interesting. The blacksmith visit was the highlight for our boys! We actually enjoyed the homestead visit more than the visit to the Pavilion.
We would recommend that anyone interested in John Deere visit the historic site.

The tour was great and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. You could see the whole thing in an hour or spend three hours wandering and picnicking, like we did. We had a group of kids ages 6-10. We all enjoyed the stories, the peek into how things used to be done, the blacksmith demonstration, and the picnic area, to name our highlights.

The folks at John Deere Historic Site are great, friendly and helpful. I cannot possibly say enough good things about them. We go there at least every 2 years to demonstrate blacksmithing at the Hammer-In, and have been since Aug 2004. The site is picture perfect. Site blacksmiths are some of the best in the world. The museum display includes a movie in air conditioning, an archaeological dig of the original John Deere blacksmith shop, a replica of the 1837 self-scouring steel plow, and there is the original home, a working blacksmith shop, a gift shop, and gardens. Everyone should visit the Historic Site at Grand Detour.

This is such a neat little spot. It’s free to anyone and they take you on a neat little tour through the home John Deere built and into the “Arc” building where they have preserved a piece of agricultural history! The spot where John Deere had his blacksmith shop along with some of the tools he used and thing he made. The staff is very knowledgeable and SUPER KIND! It was a neat little spot for our 15 and 11 year olds to experience. It probably takes about 2-3 hrs to go through if you get the full tour and visit all the shops: we were there on a slightly rainy day so we didn’t spend as much time looking around as we could have. So nice to see that someone is saving this important landmarks! This site marks the spot where the farming business really started stepping up it game and becoming what it is today!

This gift shop and cafe is one of the best. Whether or not you take the boat ride, the visitor center has history and one of the best shops, filled with a well-curated, unique collection. We stopped here for lunch as part of a tour group. The food was excellent and the little shop had great stuff. I looked at the regular menu and would like to go back on my own to try. They are open for breakfast and lunch and have a small coffee bar. After lunch we went on the canal barge boat ride which was quite charming.

This is the cutest visitor’s center I’ve ever seen! I went in for a quick coffee, but ended up staying for over a hour. This place is a clever mix of a coffee shop, a historical information center, and a gift shop- for both boutique gifts and canal related memorabilia. It was another plus that the center opened earlier than all the other shops in the downtown area.
Everyone who worked there was friendly and ready to answer questions. We’d like to go back when the boat tours are open and try those out.

My husband and I chose Lock 16 for our vintage wedding theme. This venue worked perfectly for many reasons.
*We both wanted the wedding and reception held at one location; we had many guests share how they felt at ease and could enjoy themselves with being able to eliminate any additional travel (for various reasons).
*We were able to comfortably seat 70 guests at circular tables, which were actually set up and used during our ceremony and afterward for the reception.
*Guests could easily walk around to mingle, frequent our dessert bar/ candy buffet and gift area near the back, grab a signature coffee drink at the coffee bar near the front of the cafe, as well as utilize a full-sized photo booth in the same area of cafe. *We loved the idea that the vintage room was so versatile that it could be used for our ceremony with use of the brick wall as a unique staple for our decor with a vintage-rustic type of backdrop and then easily turn into a dance floor for the rest of the night.
*There was plenty of space for dancing, while the opportunity was also there to sit and enjoy watching those on the dance floor, walk around, and/or converse with others.
*The hospitality of the Lock 16 staff was so appreciated by all; our guests had their plates cleared out when they were finished eating in a timely manner; our guests' tables had water pitchers refilled, etc. and they were around to help with anything that evening.
The challenges we experienced and would encourage any couple to keep in mind:
*There is no option as far as getting ready at this place, as they clearly have business hours before the wedding starts; (we ended up arranging for the bridal party to both get ready and have photos taken elsewhere).
I would really encourage any couple to consider this component and the actual feasibility of getting the bridal party together in one location/locations that is/are well-suited for getting ready and doing any wedding photos. (We were just truly fortunate to have family within close proximity to venue/each other and have a yard with landscaping that we both liked for our wedding photos.
*The time constraint between: (every person in the Bridal Party and every guest/family member attending the wedding) getting ready; trying to complete wedding photos beforehand; and then making it to the actual ceremony start time was the most stressful part. The reasons for the rush were, again, due to the nature of the business hours, (which makes sense). With business hours until 3pm, it meant having to thoroughly plan out and calculate the time that could be used for setting up everything within the 45 min timeframe (ceremony was set for 4pm).
A helpful solution was when we were allowed to utilize the vintage room (that can be closed off to public during business hours) the day before the wedding - we were able to put together 11 sets of table decor/centerpieces and hang our backdrop decor for the big brick wall.
We did end up hiring two Day-of Coordinators to ensure all 11 sets/centerpieces for tables we "prepped" and stored in vintage room (the day before wedding) could be put out quickly in the 45 minute window between business hours ending and guests arriving for the ceremony that we had starting at 4pm.
The hope is that relaying and keeping this in mind will alleviate an oversight like this, since planning a wedding is hectic. I would still highly recommend this location and really encourage consideration of the very positive feedback from both of us and from our guests. It is an absolutely adorable place and our friends from out-of-state or from the bigger cities thoroughly expressed just how quaint and beautiful everything was all evening. Our wedding night was so perfect and we are beyond appreciative of the staff at Lock 16 for doing whatever they could do within reason to make it a memorable celebration for everyone, especially for us. And I think they, too, were dancing -- we loved it :)

Large forest park & canyon with prairie land, springs, wildlife, camping & horse trails.
One of the best sights I have been to in years! Multiple waterfalls with great connections between the lip of the valley and the valley floor. Great experience for family and friends. Even has a wheel chair ramp and part of the trails are paved for wheelchairs.

An incredible experience, amazing place to visit and truly worth the driving.
A lot of amazing nature scenes.
Different kinds of trees and plants, wonderful water fall , the huge rocks and caves and the trees climbing over the rocks.
Down hill where you can enjoy taking pictures in front of the water fall but caution as it s slippery and easily anyone can fall in the water, it s not deep but I would recommend another pair of socks and shoes .
This place has plenty of stairs going up and down so if anyone can’t use stairs, this place will be so difficult then.
Enjoyed a lot the freshness of the air , the variety of birds and the beauty of the nature.
Free admission and closed by sunset

If your the outdoorsy type of family then this is a great place to visit. Been there a few times and always enjoy ourselves. They seem to be on top of trails that are dangerous. We saw a few barriers so people didn’t get hurt. Appreciate that.
Neil Blackwell — Google review
The park was beautiful and well maintained. The trails can keep you busy for hours if you want. Before heading down into the Dells, there is a covered shelter with picnic tables, restroom facilities, and vending machines with water, Gatorade, and other drinks. Be careful if going after a rainy day since most trails are not paved and will become muddy and/or slippery.
Beckie Madden — Google review
If you want to have fun here, you must accept that you will get muddy. I recommend just having your kids abandon their shoes early on. Please don't yell at them for being kids and enjoying life. It's why you take these adventures with them. You might get wet-and that's really ok. They might get wet. It's fine.
This place was more crowded than I prefer on a hike, but we had an adventure crossing to the waterfall, and it was very beautiful and just the right level of challenging. There are a lot of stairs here. Not a few. A lot. My 4 year old made it up, but it was beyond my 2 year old.
Overall I really enjoyed this hike.
Marcy Kyser — Google review
Great place to go hiking! Feels more like hiking vs Starved Rock. It’s easy to get off the trails. You can use stepping stones to get across the creek. Nice waterfalls but they’re not tall waterfalls. Be careful after a rainfall because the trails can get really squishy. Lots of natural eroded rocks, canyons, trees, streams.

Absolutely stunning, bathrooms were cleaned but rather small. Be sure you have good shoes. Lots of steps but worth the view. I didn't care for the safety gate at the top of the waterfall but I'm sure they have their reasons why. I plan on going again

This was one of my new favorite spots to hike. It rained lightly while we were here, but it added to the whole experience. I wish we lived closer because I would be here every day. The trails are beautiful. The sights are just breathtaking. Add this little known park to your list right away!

This was such an amazing park! We happened to stumble upon it while visiting Starved Rock and it was totally worth it!! We went on a beautiful hike and saw a gorgeous waterfall. The trails are well maintained, it was fun hopping around the creek on different stones so as to not get wet. Good for all ages, lots of families and dogs visiting. Would love to go back and explore further.

As much as I don't want to share this beautiful place with even more people, it wouldn't be fair to those who have yet to visit! This stunning park is just minutes off the exit and welcomes you with the most peaceful views. Hiking down into the Canyons, taking in every hidden gem, it's easy to spend the entire day wandering through the trails. There is a trail for everyone. Put this one on your list!

We took a late summer hike here this year. It's been fairly dry so there was no flowing water or falls. All ages with good mobility can enjoy this park.
Be prepared to walk down a long staircase to get into the canyon/gorge. There's periodic benches for those that need to take breaks.
The lower dells path is our preferred hike because it takes you across a cool concrete bridge, down a couple flights of steps and right through the center of the gorge.
There's a couple locations where you will need to navigate a collection of large stones to get across some shallow water.
My boys loved playing inside the cool cavernous areas that were carved out by years of flood waters.
I recommend visiting on a weekday and during the school year if you're bringing kids.

Very beautiful but crowded. Unique dells with wooden steps and boardwalks in most locations in order to handle the crowds. Nice little waterfalls which attracts lots of kids and their families. We had to park in overflow parking and walk over a quarter mile to get to the trails even though we got there relatively early in the morning (before 10).

“This was definitely a great hike! This place is beautiful! Make sure you bring lots of water because you will need it. I was a bit disappointed I didn’t see any waterfalls but I heard that it’s best to go on a day when it just finished raining or I could have been at the wrong trail.”

What a gorgeous park in January. We did the loop in 1.25 hours and felt really great, even with lots of steps! The frozen waterfalls were fantastic, I can only imagine how beautiful it is in the spring and summer but it was extremely cool to be able to walk on the frozen river right up to it and see the ice formations. We brought our dog in his jacket and booties and he loved it!! Just be careful walking around - but it is a great time to go!

Our family has been to and enjoyed Starved Rock a couple times previously but never went to Matthiessen. This place was really fun. It was just after a rainy night so the trails were muddy and slippery in places, but hopping across stones and logs along the river was a blast for the whole family.

Very nice state park. I did a 2 mile loop hike with my dog using the Alltrails app as a guide/map. It was a fairly strenuous trail with a lot of steps down and back up. Took about an hour and half to complete the 2 miles. Crossing the creek was fun as well. I did carry my small dog through some of that part as the rocks used as stepping stones were spaced far but it was fun to hop across.

my wife and I had the time of our lives both days out!! first day we learned the ropes of the park! followed people, signs, etc. Second day we truly enjoyed the park!! took pictures, smiled, laughed and enjoyed the incredible November sights of this majestic beauty!! Extremely clean, ready for visitors and be ready for the experience to tell your kids about one day so they visit as well!! Truly an Illinois gem!!!

I ALWAYS love going to Matthiessen! Lower Dells, Upper Dells, it's always a beautiful hike. Be prepared for a wet experience and it can be busy at times. Many families. Quite a few dogs. Plenty of photo opportunities.

Fantastic natural areas, "historic" style French fort, beautiful views, and miles of trials to be hiked. The facilities are good enough, typical IL state park bathrooms. The trails are rough, erosion and traffic take their toll. Be patient with each other and the other hikers please.
what can we say about his place that they don't say about Heaven!!! Amazing experience and we brought home 4 bottles of our TOP CHOICES!! The apple flavors (holy moly) so good!!! We loved sampling all the goods and I'll be short on the review because the pics speak for themselves but my wife and I had the BEST TIME with the the best staff, wines, and company possible!!

Fantastic place to get some Blue wine! Did a wine tasting and it was my personal favor. They have a wine club that is worth looking into before you go!

Better than big chain wineries. Highly recommend to give it a try! Bubblies are fantastic! Slushy wines are a must! Reds, semis, dries I am sure you’ll find your favorite! Also, take their vineyard wine tour 15+ minutes away. Atmosphere is very relaxed but still classy. Staff is professional and knowledgeable. Enjoy a charcuterie board and a wine glass or two with your friends on comfortable lounge style chairs and of course flights and wine tastings!

Absolutely love this place! Our visit was amazing - I can't recommend August Hill enough! Upon arrival, we were greeted by the very friendly and knowledgeable staff, who made us feel so welcome. They even took the time to recommend the perfect wine pairings based on our preferences.
The wine is fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed every single wine we tasted! The tasting room is beautiful and relaxing, the staff is awesome. We will DEFINITELY be back!

We had a fantastic experience at the vineyard! We started with the Cave Tasting where Laurie provided an excellent overview of the vineyard: it's history, types of grapes, methods and operations. Her knowledge of each wine in our tasting was incredible! We learned so much and can truly appreciate AH's wine craft.
We then explored the vineyard. Such beautiful views from the top of the hill.
This is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, enjoy wine, hear music and appreciate such a beautiful place!

My husband and I have been making the drive from chicago to august hill for a few years now. We absolutely love this place. Never a disappointment. Amazing wine! You can tell the difference between cheap wine and good quality and august hill is definitely good quality wine. I’m very sensitive to certain red wines and I never have a reaction with august hill wines. Worth the drive! Will continue to make the trip :)

What a great find. When we arrived the lady behind the bar greeted us and began giving us information about their wine. She was VERY helpful. And then asked if this was our first visit. (And it was) I was very impressed with the wines. Every one that we tried was very good... As well as made locally. (Which is definitely a plus) After our tasting she guided us to the lounge and told us about some of their food options. All and all - it's reeeally a nice place to be with your special someone or just hang out. We enjoyed our food, wine and the atmosphere. I don't give 5 stars often. We'll be back. Reeeally a nice winery.

I went there with my fiance and sister -for my sisters birthday- AND we all got different wine for our wine tasting (5 selections for $5) and we all tasted each others. I like that we were allowed to do that without getting into trouble. Lol.. We than sat outside on the patio; there was a guy playing music. Beautiful weather and nice music.

Amazing wine and super service! My friends and I came out to Starved Rock for a fun weekend get away hoping to enjoy a wine or two along the way. We ended up staying for hours and trying almost everything on the wine list. The fabulous women who took care of us went above and beyond. August Hill is a required stop next time we come!
Starved Rock State Park, an area of historical significance, boasts canyons, trails and waterways suitable for hiking, fishing and boating. The park offers a lodge and cabins for visitors to stay in. One of the main attractions is the Starved Rock itself which is easily accessible via a short trek. There are numerous paths meandering through cliffs and rivers that provide scenic views throughout the park.
Starved Rock State Park is an excellent place to hike. The actual starved rock is a very cool place to look around and it is not a very hard or long path. There are plenty of good hiking paths that go throughout the cliffs and rivers. The restaurant and conference center are a good place to rest and have great views. The restaurant’s food is not exceptional but it is pretty good. The nachos are very good.
Starved Rock State Park is a unique state park and one of my favorites.

This is a good park. However, the visitor center and trails nearby can be very busy on weekends. We had to park in overflow parking and hike in.
We had much better luck heading east to the other parking lots away from the main area.
Huge rock formations and tons of places to explore. My kids loved it but we saw many frustrated parents trying to us a stroller. If you have someone to lift a stroller up and down stairs, it won’t be bad but overall the park is NOT stroller friendly.
Beautiful bluff and great photo ops.
There are lots of little places where the trail is not clearly my defined and you can go exploring a little.
The staff was great and all the facilities were clean. There is nice restaurant and lodge if you need a bite to eat or place to rest.

What an amazing place to hike! The canopy keeps it very cool. I came early (6:45am) on a week day and did not see anyone until after 9am. Very cool to see the different Canyons and elevations along the hike. The stairs are no joke! It’s a moderate hike but lots of cool stops to see along the way, including waterfalls!

What an incredible and beautiful state park! Might be the prettiest place I’ve been to in Illinois, it’s such a nice break from the city and it’s not a super far drive. The trails are very easy and beginner friendly, there are some steep staircases and a few uneven parts of path but mostly flat trails. I will say that if you are expecting to see waterfalls, you should go 1-2 days after a big rain storm otherwise they’ll probably all be dry, especially during the middle of the summer. I also recommend going early, even if it’s on a weekday. We got there at about 10:30 and it wasn’t super busy, but by the time we got back from hiking around 1:30 it was insanely crowded, and hiking is a lot more fun in my opinion when it’s empty. Overall, I would definitely recommend visiting here on a day trip, I can’t wait to return myself!!
Robbie Austin — Google review
We arrived early and saw St. Louis Canyon before the crowds arrived. We had lunch in the visitor center, which was decent. After lunch we started out to see the eastern part of the trails.
The trails were very well marked and maintained. We covered west as far as St. Louis Canyon and east as far as Wildcat Canyon in about 18,000 steps on our step counter. There are a lot of stairs! The canyons are well worth the hike. We would like to return in the Spring when the falls are at their fullest.

STARVED ROCK STATE PARK is an Illinois hidden treasure. Camping was quiet and clean. However there was rain a few days prior and a few of the sites had water covering half the site.. was a nuisance for a few. So the park is alcohol free zone FYI! Be creams keep things quiet and you should be fine. Showers are good for a state park $25 a night fee with electric hook up. Thee are a both open and wooded sites. The trails are clean and marked fairly well. Be aware that there are many steep stairs to get to lookouts and canyons. Many only make it halfway. Bring plenty of water. We will return as it’s a quick 2hr trip.

Wonderful place, we have been seeing signs for this place for years and finally got to come and see it. The ice was just melting and it was a little muddy but man what a great place. Good walk ways great views of waterfalls and a historic place. This place has it all. Even the girl in gift shop was helpful.

We visited Starved Rock December 10 2022. We stayed at Getaway which is about 20 min away for the weekend. Overall, our experience at this state park was excellent. The trails are well maintained even in the late fall. We hiked for about 4 miles seeing the river views and the canyon views over about 2.5 hours. It is difficult to navigate a stroller/wheelchair along most of the trails in this state park so I recommend getting information ahead of time if you need accessibility. The features and varied topography were amazing; we will definitely return here again. About half of the hike we took was along a wooden or paved path. There are a lot of stairs, many more than they explain. Be prepared to go up and own more than 9 flights over the course of your hike. We had mild weather at about 40 degrees overcast with little wind. Its a great time of year to hike if you don't mind cold weather!

It is very peopley here. I did go on a weekend and expected it to be more populated but WOW. It’s not a holiday weekend thing, this is a popular place and local attraction that tons of people in the Midwest come to see (some even further) Either way, if you can stand bumping elbows every now and then it’s not too bad. It is very pretty. There are a lot of stairs on some of the trails. Definitely bring some water!!

I have a special fondness for this state park as it's a great place for outdoor activities. During our visit, we trekked for 3 hours, exploring both the Wildcat Canyon and the La Salle Canyon. Although there aren't any waterfalls in the summer, the hike remains incredibly enjoyable.

Great hike! It has quite a few stairs on different trails, but we had lots of fun. The visitor center has a nice food court, and you can get ice cream too. The camping ground is great! We stayed in a shaded camp, great for keeping it cool during the warm days. Great place for star gazing of you stay in the no shade campsites.

I have lived in Illinois since 2007 and wanted to visit Starved Rock so bad. November 19,23 is the first time I have had the pleasure of visiting and I was so glad I did. It was a wonderful time. There's lots of stairs so bring water and even a snack. There's a gift shop with super cute items in it. I want to go back because it was such a great time.

I’ve been to this place since I was very young. Starved Rock Lodge has had a special place in my life for most of my life. What I love about it is that unlike most things today, it still has it’s traditional, classic, and old school feel. It seems like one of the very few things that’s being preserved and rightly so. Most of the times I go on vacation there, my experience is generally quite positive. The staff are usually friendly and considerate. It has good fishing along the Illinois river despite the river’s pollution. The nature is also beautiful. The place itself is proof that Illinois is more than just Chicago and flat farmlands. I also always enjoy the pool and hot tub there too. No place is perfect but this is my way of trying to spread some positivity in a world of seemingly endless negativity. Thank you Starved Rock State Park for all of the joy you bring to people who enjoy visiting and thank you staff for your hard work and support. Hope you all can appreciate my new drawing.

Highly Recommend: very pretty, I think French canyon was the prettiest. I would recommend seeing all except walking the bluff trail between owl canyon and Ottawa - the trail is through forest and pretty boring, not much to see just treading along. I'd recommend just hiking to owl canyon and back and then driving and parking by Illinois or Ottawa canyon.

Nice big park. Trails for hiking an a big waterfront for fishing or watching the boats. There was a picnic area an boat dock just down from the visitor center area. Port a John's there for when the center isn't open. We did the st Louis canyon trail.. beautiful spot. We saw cliff swallows flying around the top of the canyon. That was neat!!

Tremendous park and trails, amazing campground facility as well five minutes up the road. We hiked four of the trails and loved the clean landscape, variations in altitude, and river and woodland views.
Staff are attentive and care greatly for the park.
The campground is amazingly clean and quiet. Bathrooms are typical camp baths.
A really fun weekend for the family with plenty of fresh air and exercise.

What a great state park to hike around and explore. The visitors center was clean and inviting. There is a little place to grab some treats and food called the trailhead.
There had been little rainfall around the time we were there so sadly the waterfalls were not flowing 😞 the trails were well marked and the YOU ARE HERE maps were placed all over.
Definitely a state park to add to your bucket list!

Beautiful scenery in the state park along with decently maintained trails. In some parts there have been a few steps sticking out in odd places where rain has washed it away. Besides that, it is a very well maintained park. I easily spend 2-3 hours here. It’s a huge park to explore!

Starved Rock is a great state park for visitors to check out. It has pretty easy hiking so it's great for kids. Parking can be difficult sometimes in the summer as it's a popular place. It can also get a little crowded at certain times. My kids really like going and it's easy to let them wander because the paths are mainly boardwalks with railings and/or easy to follow. This park is dog friendly and, as all State Parks in Illinois, has a leash law. There are also cabins that you can rent and a hotel with a restaurant and pool. The fudge in the gift shop is a must. This is a great place for family photos and wedding photos. Have fun.

Located about an hour and half away from Chicago. This is a good place for hiking. In the spring and summer you’ll be able to see waterfalls up close. If you come in the winter, you’ll see like a winter wonderland because some of the waterfalls will be frozen and covered in snow. They have paved paths which makes things easier. Adequate amount of parking. You can pack a lunch and sit in the main picnic area. There is a visitor center with restrooms.

Was a blast! The amazing rock structures are a view to look at! It was a little crowded but it was expected with how beautiful the weather has been. Remember to wear comfy shoes, lots of stairs and ups and down hills! Some of the steps are trick due to the condition, so be careful and take your time! Came here on Thursday to this lovely outdoor hiking spot with a group of friends 🧡. We greatly enjoyed ourselves and enjoyed being outside. Just a warning ⚠️ If you are thinking of coming here, please come prepared. Make sure to bring enough water/snacks or food and whatever else you may need. Also, if you do not enjoy coming upstairs, be warned that there are a lot of stairs. Other than those minor things to let you all know about , I had an amazing time and will be coming back here soon.

Try to see all the Canyons and the Eagle’s Point. The dam is nice to observe from the Eagle’s point. Would like to visit again in summer to see how it is different. Nice to hike at. Some spots have a nice riverview. The lodge is very pretty with a bar, fireplace and serves food. There are one or two stores that sell souvenirs and gems/jewellery and collective items. Free entry to the park and free parking.

Starved Rock has a great visitor center. As you can see from the pictures, I shared that there are quite a few informative displays. Showing great details on what you can find around the state park. Plus, they have a great volunteer book store with a lot of great nature books. The best thing is that the proceeds go to support the various educational experiences they offer. They also have a gift shop with a wonderful selection of Starved Rock souvenirs. You will also find an ice cream/fudge shop that serves homemade sweets.

This was my family's first visit to the park. I suggest going early in the morning to avoid crowds. Visitors from many nationalities were present, and nearly every family had a dog. The park has many stairs, so be prepared for some climbing. I recommend bringing a bag with water, snacks, and a first aid kit. Some areas can be slippery, so exercise caution. There are insufficient seating options for those who need them. I suggest adding a handicapped section along the trails with seating. I hiked the Pontiac and Wildcat Canyon trails, which took approximately two hours and covered almost three miles.

And we had a great time with our neighbor campers who were very kind and welcoming, we even sat in front of the camp fire and had some good conversation. We took a drive through Shabbona this Friday morning. We had not been there before & wanted to check out boating regulations, boat ramps, lake depth, etc. We went into the Bait Shop & the men were great answering our questions. I was surprised they sold live bait & also did boat rentals. He confirmed the HP limit was lifted in lieu of a slow wake regardless of your boat motor hp. Good to know! Also good to know is that they sell alcohol & other drinks as well. Overall the park/lake was beautiful & we definitely would come back to fish.

We've been to Shabonna Lake several times, but in basing this review on the camping experience.
The site we had was very nice, with lots of grass. Many sites are not this way, having only gravel. So if you're tent camping, be aware of this. All sites have electric. The bathrooms don't have flushing toilets and are really unpleasant. Bring a bucket for nighttime, as there are no lights in the bathroom.
We had some loud campers several sites over, many kids yelling until 2am. Then there was a couple arguing at around 5am. I was surprised no one was coming around to check sites, noise, etc.
All in all we had a great time. There's a kids fishing pond and other activities for kids. People in the area are generally polite. We'll be back.

I'm conflicted. The people and the 'start' of the tour seemed fun, and friendly. However, we zip-lined once out the door, then THE RAIN came. We were all willing to continue however for our safety they stopped the tour and went back inside. They said we just 'leave our name' and can call back to re-schedule. Then they closed for covid, and I called and called and emailed to reschedule, and they never returned my calls. The money I spent for my sons birthday gift was gone. I suggest going anywhere but here.

Awesome staff!! Awesome experience!! Definitely do the long tour. Be prepared to do some hiking/trail walking to get from platform to platform. We went right after it had rained and there were some really muddy spots. Glad I wore the shoes I did (old running shoes) any other pair would have been ruined! They say you can wear shorts, but the way the harness fits you definitely want to wear pants/capris/leggings for women.

Excellent docents with lots of knowledge and insight into this architectural gem. Very help team running the visitors center. Provided a golf cart for someone with mobility challenges; just wish they could figure out a way to get the interior more accessible without affecting the integrity of the design.

Must go for archi lovers, and for anyone who enjoy outdoor activities. This house is 1 hour drive from Chicago, far away from the city lights, and noise ! There's is a lake behinde with a beautiful view.

I've wanted to take this tour since high school and finally got the chance to do it, some 30+ years late - It was worth the wait! The beautiful architecture, natural surroundings and the depth of knowledge of our tour guide Mae the day unmatchable. We already know we're coming again and again to experience more of this hidden gem.

This place is very well restored and maintained and the tour guides are very knowledgeable about its history and contents. The gift shop has restrooms. The actual house is about an 8 minute walk from the gift shop, though it is extremely beautiful. Unfortunately, I still do not like mies after seeing this in person.

Extremely disappointed in my visit to the Farnsworth House. They don't disclose prior to buying tickets that THE HOUSE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. I WOULD NOT HAVE GONE. Then they say you'll get a discount if you come back next year. Who the hell would drive there again? Absolutely ridiculous. Also if it's a tour that I paid for and drove over an hour to the middle of nowhere, down a confusing road under construction with no detour signs, and came there to find out that an integral part of the design is under construction, do not dictate when I will be taking photos. The tour should also be more focused on Mie's work and less on the Dr. Farnsworth. A Farns-worthless experience.

Fascinating setting overlooking the Fox River. With many amenities for spending many an hour here along well maintained trails finding new treasures just about everywhere you look. The guided tour of the actual Farnsworth house gives insight into a rich history. It's a pity that most visitors are from far away for this truly is one of Illinois hidden gems.

Do not miss this gem. Our guide was so knowledgeable and informative. The stories of the owners, architect, building process, were just as interesting as the house. The grounds are beautiful, and there is this amazing cube created by an architecture student, that you must engage with. I hope to be back in the area for jazz on the lawn, or other events.
No one ever says this, but...l8nger in the gift shop. There are wonderful finds for reasonable prices. Check out the coffee mugs and the jigsaw puzzles. The associate in the gift shop was a joy to talk to.
Don't let the entry price stop you from buying the guided tour. Your fee goes to preserve this house, which is on the national historic register.
Just go!

Absolutely breathtaking piece of architectural history. Worth booking the guided tour ahead of the visit as they sell out on weekend days. The guided tour is $25 per person and takes you inside the home, or you can buy entry to the ground for $10 and walk around the house on the outside. Our guide, John P. was absolutely fantastic - a well of knowledge about the home and the history of it, and his love and passion for Farnsworth House was not only captivating but infectious. The grounds are beautiful as well, great for a riverside walk on a lovely sunny day.

We have visited a variety of Frank Lloyd Wright houses that all were very memorable, but this is a unique house. It combines great architecture with an artistic sense in a natural setting. Well worth a visit! Allow 2 hours for tour and additional viewing.

1,350 natural acres for fishing, boating, hiking & hunting plus camping, picnicking & winter sports.
One of our favorite spots! So peaceful and adventurous at the same time!!

Excellent State Park, from fishing to walking and everything else. It's large enough not to be too claustrophobic when the park is crowded. The park is larger than most people realize. It has property on both sides of the Fox River.

Pretty sprawling area, with multiple paths through forest/along the river and through prairies, a couple small lakes, and the springs for which the area is named. I imagine it's a pretty popular spot when the weather is fine

Poorly managed this gemstone. While an ideal place for fishermen administration fails to make this park a welcoming heaven for future generations. No recycling bins, no information about fauna in the park or about pathways markings, poorly maintained bathrooms and only two - no flush - open in January. Small parking for buses.Old trees or suffocating vines not trimmed or removed

Nice short hike, different routes, different spots to park.
The route that goes by the river is really nice. Be sure to do the short path to the spring. And finally pop out again by the lake. Pretty serene area. Lots of people fishing.

Lots of parking. Walked on a fairly busy Sunday. Trails had minimal elevation gain. We parked in the Loon lake lot and walked about .2 miles to the spring. It was an easy hike. We then topped it off with a mile walk around the lake. This was an easy trail with minimal elevation gain. Extremely peaceful and beautiful. Traffic picked up around 11. It became pretty busy. I recommend early mornings on weekends.
Broadway-style productions, performances & comedy acts on stage in an ornate, old-school playhouse.
I went with my wife to enjoy the show called under the streetlamp. We were very happy with the show and your staff for accommodating me due to my handicap condition. During intermission I went and got myself some free popcorn at the bar and Bud Light and draft. We'll go again I highly recommend to anybody that enjoys watching musicals and or theater as well as perfect live performing bands

Paramount Theatre is a gorgeous and historical theatre. The inside is beautiful with great friendly staff. My friend and I went and saw Rock of Ages and it was a super fun and amazing show! The performers did a great job and put on a fun show that got the whole crowd dancing. This is the perfect spot for a date night or night out with friends. It is super easy to get to with convenient and easy parking. I will definitely be going back for another show in the future!

Attended our first production at the Paramount in Aurora. The building has historical significance as it is approximately 100 years old. Building was remodeled but kept the history. We saw Into the Woods, which we really enjoyed. Theater is large with ornate walls and ceilings. Theater is well known for having high level productions.
We went on a Sunday afternoon, parked about six blocks away for free. Tickets were $55.00 which gave us seats in about the middle of the theater. Loved our experience here and will be back.

It’s been a long time since I was last here. I was surprised when I came here last night to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and the whole building looks very modern on the inside. Theater was very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. At the concessions, they had Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed drinks and they were moderately priced. I had H 22 and 24, I didn’t realize how close we were to the stage. The seats are kind of tight, not a lot of legroom. The musical had very talented actors, theatrical production was high quality, just looking at all of those set pieces, and musical performances were well coordinated. Parking, you can either do valet for like $13-20 or go to a nearby parking garage and pay like $3-4
Nicholas P — Google review
Nice theatre but I advise getting closer seats to what we had. We were towards the back and the sound does not travel as well under the upper level. There are balcony seats to the sides that appear to be the best seats for those not wanting front row. Think where royalty would sit in a theatre and you'll be able to picture it. Very nice friendly staff all around from ushers and bar tenders, to the police officer and stage personel we dealt with when meeting the band. Great experience for a relatively small theatre.
David Smith — Google review
My wife and I have a subscription and absolutely love it! The performers routinely exceed expectations. The stage and sets are beautifully done. They musicians are amazing. We are grateful to get a theatre experience like this that's only 15 minutes from home.
I highly recommend that when you come for a performance, you consider Stolp Island for dinner and stop in at French 75 across the river for craft cocktails and the occasional set of live jazz.

Really love this place! And the productions here are always top notch! Seating is great except when a tall person sits in front of you. Yikes!
Went to see Into the Woods and it was really great!!
I live in Chicago, so driving to this theater is a drive but it's a very nice drive once you get past the city limit.

Such a beautiful and historic building. The shows are always brilliant and eye catching. Each time I walk through the Paramount doors, I know that I am in for something good and then some. The people are great. The specialty drinks for each show are fun and we look forward to them. Great job to all involved!!

The inside of the Paramount is amazing, from the lobby to the theater, the art deco just explodes throughout. The staff are all very nice, and the concessions are reasonably priced. The vast majority of the plays we've seen here are exceptional (newsies and wizard of oz were off Broadway caliber). Their set designs are top tier. Glad to be back to see kinky boots. Strict COVID protocols, no food available, checking vaccination status/recent negative test and comparing identification.

Attended the amazing Dream Girls production. The show was top notch with great actors and phenomenal music to make for a great performance experience. The temperature was uncomfortably warm, but it didn’t totally detract from the experience.

The best local theatre with spectacular shows. Saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in December. It was well worth every penny. Brought me back to my childhood and seeing it on TV. The actors were spot on and fit their roles perfectly. The singing, dancing and vibrant stage sets made it magical in my imagination! The firetrucks arrived at the end of the show, we think someone pulled a fire alarm. We didn’t miss anything. Great theatre!

Was a pleasure to be able to visit such a delightful theater! The show was fantastic, the atmosphere was magical, and it was everything I’d hoped it would be. The parking was in walking distance of the building. The restrooms were very clean and they have an elevator and other favorable accommodations for people with potential disabilities. The concessions were lovely and the cast was top tier!

We are advid theater goers. We currently have or had subscription series at Goodman, Chicago Shakespeare, Marriott and have visited many many others over decades. Paromount is aces for many reasons. The staff is 5 stars whether it's a ticket question or pouring you a drink customer interaction is warm, friendly, professional and genuine. I enjoy their souvenirs. Yes that sounds silly, but outside of the Broadway series downtown I find memorabilia to be lacking. If I like a show I like a magnet, t shirt or a themed item like a Wonka Chocolate bar to smile on for awhile and the prices are respectable. The theater itself is just grand. It's a huge space with gorgeous tapestries on the wall and an opulant ceiling that rivals the best spaces in Chicagoland. Parking is sooo easy to find and productions are constantly up for Jeff Awards. Are you sick of hauling your suburban cookies through unpredictable traffic and outrageous parking prices to scratch your theater itch? You owe it to yourself to give Aurora Paramount and Copley center a chance!!
Jeffrey Seidman — Google review
Fantastic theatre and performance. The theatre itself is beautiful and upkept perfectly. They do have a bar that offers treats (m&ms, stuffed pretzels, cookies)and alcohol but food is not allowed within the theatre, whereas drinks are. The seats were comfortable and roomy, so you didn't feel sore after a performance and that you weren't on top of the person next to you.
The performance was excellent, and we saw Little Shop of Horrors. The cast was everything we could have hoped for, great singing and acting, and the props were top-notch.
We loved it so much we bought tickets for our next show that night.
Thanks, Paramount!
Hollywood Casino Aurora is a floating gambling establishment that offers a variety of table games, slots, and poker. It also features live music performances and multiple dining choices. One standout feature is its poker room, which boasts the lowest rake in Illinois and friendly dealers. They offer hourly high hand jackpots and an ongoing bad beat jackpot worth nearly $300,000. Additionally, the casino provides a welcoming atmosphere for visually impaired poker players with kindness and respect from both players and staff.
I play slots and some tables. I also go to different drawings and events they have. I have lots of fun and enjoy all the staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The food in all locations are good. If you want a quick meal either the pizza place or sports bar. The steakhouse is awesome been there many times. Come have some fun

Good casino option. There is a smokers lounge at one end but besides that it didn’t smell like Smoke. Food option inside was similar to concession stand to me, it worked though. Parking was $15, I would find alternate parking next time.

I went in circles about 3 times before I was able to find the entrance to the casino. When I finally found the entrance to the parking lot , the hike to the casino felt like a mile. The promotions were good but I stood in line for my players card for about a half hour . The slot machines did not pay out ANYTHING I couldn't even break even. But I was happy that I did not have to pay for parking. I will NOT be back

Great night with 7th Heaven as always. But this casino is junk. They should have been prepared for new years eve. Was not even crowded. Tables were a complete rip-off. Drink lines were slow and long. Tried to get a slice of pizza. Took so long we gave up. Terrible service! Very poorly managed. This casino would probably be busy if they had competent management. Moving that place with these owners will probably be a loser for Aurora. Sorry to say.. 7th Heaven was awesome!!

Hollywood is a nice casino in the heart of Aurora. It had a nice selection of slot machines. You will not have any problem finding a slot to play. There were quite a lot of table games as well. It seems everyone was having a good time on the Saturday night I visited. It would have been nice to have live entertainment as there was a stage in the casino. Hollywood was extremely clean. Dealers and servers were very happy and had smiles. Even the pit bosses seemed happy. The only issue I had was no draft beer at the main bar although they did have a very nice selection of bottled beer. I did not try any of the restaurants but sure would like to on another visit. This casino is also close to the Paramount theater which is just a short walk away. Hollywood casino is worth a visit.

I only spent time in the poker room during my visit, but I found the staff and players there to be incredibly friendly. I love going to Hollywood and have been going for over 15 years. I added up so many points but due to Covid I didn’t go. So Hollywood canceled all my points which equaled hundreds of dollars. I Don’t think that was fair. Also, they keep removing the reel slots which are my favorites.
I am looking forward to the new casino and at my age, I hope to get to see it.
All of my hosts, which has changed from time to time. Dwayne is the best, Kristin, and now Jordan have been wonderful. And those before that I can’t remember their names. They treat me like I’m their only member.
I only wish the machines weren’t so tight, but I guess they need the money to build the new casino. I miss the buffet too.
BTW, the new casino will be closer to me and save me 10 minutes each way.

So my night started off at the cashier cage because I needed a new card, come to find out I never had a card with them and the extremely friendly cage cashier informed me that she loaded 25.00 in free slot play for being a new customer on NYE of all nights, let me tell you I only played that 25.00 all night and came home with an extra 91.00 in my pocket. All thanks to that kind woman for going above and beyond. I was so thankful as it was definitely appreciated. They had nice photo walls set up for pictures on NYE and they gave away free hats etc. We had a ton of fun while listening to Hi Infidelity band play. Every worker we came in contact with was extremely helpful and nice. I will definitely be back again, next time to try the steak house.

I went there on a Tuesday night with my mom. I have to say I enjoyed the fact that it was a quiet night because we had a lot of options for machines. There was no lines at the bar and drinks were priced well. I will definitely be back on a week night. Hopefully I have better luck next time on the machines.

We stopped by during the 2021 Red Carpet Cooridor Festival. We were greeted by a friendly man working behind an information table at the two room jail cell. Very friendly, very knowledgeable, he even opened up the streetcar diner so we could go in. This was the first time I've ever seen the inside of it! I stuck a couple dollars in the donation box and picked up a souvenir postcard. The two room jailcell is worth seeing too, although I have seen it several times. Turns out the gentleman working the table was the Gardner mayor! Really enjoyed chatting with him!

I think this old jail cell is worth a short visit for anyone passing near Gardner. I'm giving this 5 stars since I appreciate that the town of Gardner has preserved this site. The door is locked in the winter, but in the summer you can step inside and get a better sense of what it might have been like to get locked up in a small town about a century ago!

The Two Cell Jail is a nice attraction about the history of Gardner. It was interesting to check out the retired jail from the past.
It was also nice to have the Riviera Restaurant trolley diner also at the same location. Then you have the Shop on Route 66 a very short walk away as well. So you get three attractions with one stop. And they're all interesting. Worth the visit.

Year-round animal park since 1915 with 40+ native species of mammals, reptiles & birds.
If you’re visiting Aurora when it’s nicer weather, this is worth checking out. It's been a min since I was last here but I wanted to share some pictures and add another positive review. Admission is free. Parking is free and has more than adequate space available. The zoo is closed on Wednesdays. During the summer months, the hours are extended until 5 pm. Fall-Spring, the zoo is closed at 4 pm.
Besides the zoo, they have a visitor center, sunken garden, veterans waterfall, etc. Inside the visitor center, they have mastodon bones along with information to read. They also have bathrooms that are clean and well kept.

Disappointing compared to other premium outlets we’ve visited. Pretty remote so it took almost a while to get here via public transportation from Chicago union station. There was no direct bus/train. The prices weren’t as attractive as we had hoped them to be so in retrospect, not sure it was worth traveling all the way.

This is a nice outdoor mall with plenty of well-run stores and brands that are familiar. The food court has many options to choose from. The convenience of this mall is impacted slightly by the weather since the stores have outside entrances. So, dress accordingly. Some areas of the outside walkway are covered to offer a bit of shade on hot days and reduce rain or snow. Since the mall is sort of spread out and goes in different directions, you will want to make note of where your car is parked and perhaps have a plan to explore all the stores.

If it's a Saturday or Sunday I will try to get there early in the morning so that way you have a Easier time finding some place to park. Because if you try to go in the afternoon you're going to have to fight for a parking spot. They have a outdoor mall, so if you don't mind being exposed to the elements this might be the place for you but during winter time you might want to wear a nice coat. The food cart is a fairly decent size. Overall decent I'll be back again

The Aurora Outlet is a great place to go when you're looking for great deals and great prices. Depending on what area you live in, it can be a bit of a hike but when you're shopping for what you want, it's always worth the trip. If you go during the week, Monday - Thursday, you really don't have to worry about large crowds. If you go Friday Afternoon - Sunday evening, it can be a bit busy. If you're a Sneakerhead, I definitely would suggest going to Kicks of The Day. They offer the top Jordans, Weezys, Adidas and custom shoes. For clothes you have you main regular outlet spots. They have plenty of stuff for the kids so you'll be covered there. Just keep in mind those children's activities can cut into your shopping time so be mindful of that. All and all it's a nice place to shop.

OK, this is not a mall of the same 'caliber' as the mall in Lombard or Gurnee or the amazing malls you find in Florida yet you find lots of designer names as well as the cheaper ones.
1. Apart from the Italian brand MaxMara and Lagerfeld (not as crazily priced as LV or Chanel, D&G etc I did not see here though) you find the US brands: Ralph Lauren, DKNY etc having some good items, fortunately reduced when we were there - you might want to register with them for newsletters and discounts. I saw some beautiful suitcases I got even cheaper later on online
2. The usual brands like Bath and body works plus lots of shoe shops and sneaker shops like Adidas or Puma who are so more expensive in Europe - my other half purchased more stuff than me in the end for his long feet at great value for money
3. Several sweet shops and we had 2 amazing icecreams at La Michoacana - I highly recommend the passion fruit and the lime ice cream: I am a big fan now
The place was almost deserted due to being mid week mid day and this is when I am going to return again in the future as I really dislike crowds - their value for money designer US items really made me a follower so will be back again in the future.

Food options are limited ; there is a noodle compnay nearby

The best brands are gathered here. I went here on Saturday the 4th of September.
I found a parking space easily and it was free.
Most stores gave great discounts. Calvin Klein and Tommy were very busy and were doing 50% and 75% off which was great.
In between shopping, you can order food from restaurants and also rent electric scooters so that you don't get tired while shopping.

I popped by here one cold & rainy morning in January to check out the place for bargains. Parking, for free, was easy. This whole outlet area is on one level and quite easily mapped out. Unfortunately the rain meant that I had to dodge about to avoid getting soaked as not all areas are undercover. I thought that there was a great choice of shops here including some of the really famous brand names. And quite a few were offering some great discounts. I could have spent a fortune in Abercrombie & Fitch, for example. There is a decent, large food court area and I appreciated the fact that there were many modern, free and well cleaned restrooms. All good!

It was a great experience visiting Chicago Premium Outlets today. It doesn't look that big from outside. Buildings are only one story, so you can't tell from outside, but the area is so big and widely spread. They have all the name brands. You name it, they have it. Nike store is the busiest one. Almost all stores have a 30% and up to 70% sale going on. You need to plan for a whole day and plan to spend good money on shopping because you can't help it. You gonna love it, though.

Food has always been great here. Been taking my parents here for years. Love their waffle fries & wraps!! Everything on their menu is worth ordering, and their drinks are great too. Been to all locations multiple times and can confidently say they’re great!

Haven’t been in into Mcbrides in a few years to eat and we feel the service has gone downhill. We went in on a Sunday night around 6: 00pm and it was not busy. We were still taking our coats off and the waiter came over and asked what we wanted to drink. We told him we still needed to look at the menu and hadn’t even sat down.
I ordered a beer before dinner and my wife ordered a Bloody Mary. I finished my beer and my kids finished their sodas and the waiter never came back after our food arrived to check on us. When he finally came back after we flagged him down. I was going to asked for a second beer, and the first thing he said was “ so do you guys want the check?” I said actually I was going to order another beer while my wife finishes her food. He look annoyed and left the table.
The whole thing felt rushed and after we were finished and walking out to leave he was outside smoking. Probably why he was rushing us and not a good sight to see as someone was just handling your food.

Fun place! VERY accommodating to our large group!
Server was always there when we needed something.
The one drawback is all the smokers that hang around at the entrance.

Food was good. Service was great. Server was on top of things, our glasses did not get empty. Food came out quick and tasted good. It was clean inside. Will be going back.

Food is delicious and beers are reasonably priced. They also have deals everyday including bingo nights. Staff is always friendly and happy to see you!

We've been here 4 or 5 times now. The servers have been friendly and pretty efficient. The food has been great. I have had the Friday night fish fry a couple times now. Sixteen bucks for all you can eat pollock and a big pile of some of the best-cooked french fries I've had in the area. The burgers have been cooked to perfection, and the daily drink and food specials have us coming in different days to get those specials.

Nachos were good like always.
The prime rib egg rolls were beyond greasy.
The cheese curds were beyond greasy.
Prime rib egg rolls and curds had a puddle of grease underneath them.

We had the bottomless fish & chips that couldn't be beat! Came out so hot, even blowing on it, didn't help! So delicious! Drinks were really good too!

I've been here several times throughout the day for lunch and I must say that I am a fan of this bar. They have awesome daily specials on food and drinks and their food is good. I've had several dishes from them and stuff like the Shepard's Pie and Cajun Chicken Pasta you can tell are pre-made and reheated. Especially their pasta because reheated pasta drops so much oil/butter at the bottom. Their burgers, wraps, and paninis are fresh and good. I don't ever recall having reheated fries at this place which is great. I always forget to take pics of the food but will take them in the future and add them in the future. Service is great and is military/veteran friendly.

Ribs were great, regular fries were great, Reuben was a miss (kinda dry), waffle fries weren't very good (overcooked and dry)... we've been here a few times. Food tends to satisfy more often than not.
Service was there just not great considering it wasn't very busy.
Atmosphere... eh. Not bad for a bar and grill.

My friends and I decided to meet to have a Friday night ladies night out. This was our first visit. The menu and prices were good lots of choices for all diets. My friends had wine and enjoyed it. The waitress was very attentive and the food was good. Overall, we enjoyed our time and would visit again. They do play music sort of loudly which we didn't mind but if u are going to have a chat or don't like louder music then probably not the place to go. It was busy and everyone seeded to be enjoying the place.

Came here around noon on a Thursday. Bartender was the server, about 10-15 people inside. She was great, very attentive and personable. Food came out quick and was actually very good. Place is WAY bigger then it looks from the outside. Will definitely be coming back.
Fiberglass statue, built in the 1960s, of a helmeted astronaut holding a rocket.
Worth the stop if you like cool old memorabilia of the good ole days. In addition to the giant, the restaurant is cute inside. I just wish the souvenirs were a little less expensive.

5 stars for the Gemini Giant but 0 for the experience. There was a woman painting a few areas of the Launching Pad and she was incredibly off-putting when visitors asked about the building. She told me “I’m not talking to people. I’m doing God’s work.” Another visitor asked her when it might be open and her response was “God will tell me when to open.” He says “We just want to know when we can visit.”
This is an iconic stop on Route 66 and I would think God would encourage her to be friendlier if she wanted future customers!!

The Launching Pad is a great place to stop along a Route 66 adventure. The owners are very friendly and full of information. I couldn't resist getting a Gemini Giant bobblehead, but they also have plenty of other souvenirs. You can also buy snacks and ice cream, as well as bottled "Route 66" beverages.

The restoration of this place is done very well. The owner obviously takes pride in it by providing heartfelt history of the place and the statue outside. Worth the stop. The Chicago Dog was awesome and the one pound pie shakes looked fantastic

Remodeled very nicely. Very clean. Burgers were delicious. Fries were hot. Girl taking orders repeated back what we ordered and let us know what came with what we ordered, just wonderful!

Our last Route 66 attraction along with the Landing strip cafe.
We only stayed to take photos of the giant which was quite impressive.
We didn't try the cafe but it did look busy.

A Route 66 quirky roadside attraction! Sad the Launching Pad Restaurant was closed for the season.

This is an ironic place for the route66 traveler! The Gemini Giant is well maintained, and easy to photograph with plenty of parking

The Gemini Giant in Wilmington, Illinois is a 30-foot tall astronaut holding a rocket that has been a staple on Route 66 since 1960.

Get there while you can. It's supposed to be auctioned of by the crazy lady that owns the property and lives next door. She has all kinds of Bible and govt conspiracy stuff written on a car in front of it and else where on the property. The loon came out screaming her weird stuff that I was with the govt at me while I was taking a pic saying I was spying on her for the govt. Lady needs to be locked up in a funny farm.
But I hope some one gets this national landmark and saves it.

Interesting roadside attraction but the Launching Pad restaurant close by was closed down when we visited and didn't look to be opening any time soon.

We had two Chicago dogs and a Polish sausage in Chicago dogs are good in the Polish sausage was OK it was very cool interior and the Gemini giant was awesome. I also had a route 66 orange drink, which was really very good. The day we were there the place was packed.

Not sure what happened to the poor Gemini Man, someone parked there car all the way to the feet of the Gemini Man and had its bonnet strung with wire and smoke coming coming out of it. It was a very weird experience as the whole parking lot of empty and this car is parked onto the statue. Irrespective of that I was happy I touched a part of famous Route 66.

We were pretty upset that the business advertised that they were open until 8. When we got there before 5, they were all closed up.
