Stones Throw Winery, established in 1997, is located in Door County, Wisconsin and offers wine tastings, tours and sampling sessions. The winery boasts two exceptional restaurants and a tasting room set amidst beautiful grounds and gardens. Its award-winning wines are made from California grapes and the gourmet restaurants have garnered an impressive number of accolades.
The tasting room is always great with helpful staff. The Vino! Vino! service area is also enjoyable. My favorite wine is here- Angelique- as someone who likes a sweeter wine. My husband enjoys anything but a sweet wine and enjoyed a semi-dry red, the Malbec. We snacked on the Bruschetta Trio. It is overpriced, but I was hungry and enjoy bruschetta and had had it before! I was disappointed/surprised to see such a price jump on the Angelique bottled wine!
Plus- the tapas bar was packed. The staff did a nice job with such a busy day! The tables/seating are tight. I'd rather sit a little right in order to be seated rather than have to wait longer for a bit more space!

My husband and I have been coming to Door County for five years now and this is hands-down our favorite place to kill an afternoon. The wine is the best you’ll find in all of Door County, the atmosphere is upscale and the service is amazing. Russell (the owner) makes you feel like family the moment you enter the wine and tapas bar. The tasting room is a great place to sample the different varieties of carefully cultivated wines to really find the perfect match for your palette. This is our #1 recommended place to visit in Door County and to stock up on wine amazing wines that you will enjoy for months to come.

Josie was great in helping us. Antipasto was good, the meatballs really good with no bread. Due to needing to be gluten free they did a good job. Wine was good but quite expensive
Nice outdoor seating. Had a good time. Would go back. Staff was very nice.

We are club members at Stone's Throw. The wines are wonderful and flavorful. Great place, always a favorite.

Hands down the best wine tasting I've ever experienced in Wisconsin. I know many come to Door County area for the fruit wines.. though I appreciate a nice dry red.. and wow they knocked it out of the park. The wines are complex and well thought out. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. 100% will be returning!

Spent Labor Day doing a few wine tastings in door county. We visited 4 winery’s and had a great time tasting, talking, and learning. Most of the tastings ranged from $5 to $10 to free … until we got to Stones Throw. The tasting flight was $18 and we were promptly told No Sharing. It was interesting - no other place had an issue with sharing. It’s not about the price - we can certainly afford the $18 bucks. It’s more about splitting the small samples with my wife to enjoy and discuss together. At every other place we shared our flights, ordered full glasses and bought a few bottles. Needless to say we said goodbye to Stone Throw and won’t be back. Wine tasting tours should be fun - certainly not as pretentious at this one.

Girlfriend and I took a weekend trip to Door County. Did a little research in finding things to do before heading up there. Found this winery to be the best according to Pinterest. Wow, was it very wrong!! We did there and not sure where to really go. We ask at the front to order wine. But first you must be seated by someone. We get out at a high table but there are a bunch of other lower tables that were empty. It took our server 15 minutes to come to our table to get our order. We were about to leave, since who would wait so low to get someone. First I ask if we could get a lower table, apparently that's out of the question. The girl looked confused why we would want a different table but it was empty and open. Apparently it wasn't available though. I ask what the sweetest wine they have which is what I like. They tell me some brand and it was about $20 a glass. I figured I would try it out. We get our wines, it was absolutely disgusting. It wasn't sweet at all, it tasted dry and bitter, I could barely swallow it down. Plus our glass wasn't even a quarter full, it was about a drizzle. Like basically a sample of wine for $20!! Glad I didn't have a lot because of how gross it was. It took a long time to get our bill but we wanted to get out of there. It was just so disgusting and absolutely will never come back or recommend this winery to our door county friends.

Wine tasting was fun! Mark was knowledgeable and attentive! Experience changed when we moved to vino and tapas bar. Waiting for food was extremely long! When we asked our waiter, who quoted some difficulty with our food order, for some compensation we got a response from Roger(manager? owner?) who basically ignored us and said "oh well". Roger, I was not looking for a freebie(!) I was just hoping for a little bit of extra attention and a sympathetic word. I saw you mingling with other patrons but no time for us. I do not think I will be visiting this place anytime soon!

Pretty grounds, a nice selection of wines and on-site dining make this a nice place to visit. Our wine expert was very knowledgeable, although not very friendly. While they were able to fit our group of 9 in for a tasting, we first had to stand around for a while and wait for an open spot. This was after we called first, asked if we needed a reservation, were told we didn't, then upon entering the tasting room were asked if we had a reservation because they had nothing available. If you plan to go, I highly suggest you call ahead and insist on a reservation. Otherwise be prepared to wait.

Our favorite winery in Door County! Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and many great wines to choose from. I love that they use California grapes since I am not a fan of sweet wines. My favorite is their Petit Verdot. We ordered the bruschetta as an app, which was also very good. Russell, the owner, could not have been nicer. We enjoyed chatting with him and sampling a few different wines. If you’re looking for a quality wine tasting with many delicious wines to choose from, this is the place!

What a fun experience! We decided to stop on a whim with our group of six friends. 2 of us experienced a wonderful tasting of wines in the tasting room while the other 4 headed to Vino, Vino next door for tapas and wine. We later joined them to find them having a great time chatting with Russell (the owner). He was hilarious and we loved listening to his stories. 😂 The food was phenomenal - (the roast duck... out of this world!🤤) Our server, Amara (sp?), was perfectly attentive, and she did a fantastic job with our crazy group! We honestly couldn't have asked for a better way to spend the afternoon! Thanks for a great time Stone's Throw!

My wife and I flew out to Milwaukee and drove to Door County with some friends. They raved on and on and on about Stones Throw.
We came in around 1pm and we were immediately greeted by a lady who told us some things about the winery. We then proceeded to a tasting counter where a gentleman named Tom who give us a very thorough talking to about the several different wines.
He then started us with the whites. Then the reds and then the dessert wines.
As we were leaving we noticed the “pour your own bottle” and my wife did that with the red blend they were offering.
We had a great time here and loved everything.

My fiance and I were so excited to come here after a recommendation from a friend that said they have dry wines. The wine and food were good but the atmosphere felt so unbelievably pretentious.
We were there mid-day in the middle of the week and there were only 3 other groups there at the time. The owner talked to everyone but us. Maybe because we are young? Maybe because we were out hiking beforehand so we were dressed down? But it definitely felt like we were judged for no reason and not welcome here.
Lambeau Field is a legendary stadium home to the iconic Green Bay Packers. It features a fan shop, hall of fame, and restaurants that are open year-round. The stadium is consistently ranked as one of the best fan experiences in the NFL, and is always packed on game day.
I am absolutely crazy about Lambeau Field. I've been to 3 Packers game, and every single time it's an amazing experience. Me and the family drove from NY to Wisconsin, and it was worth the 15 plus hour drive. There are no fans like Packers fans. The energy and the overall experience is like no other feeling, and I've been to a Super Bowl and that wasn't even as amazing as being in Lambeau watching the Packers play. It's clean, the parking is good, the tailgating is so much fun, and the overall energy is one of a kind. I cannot wait to come back again.

What an awesome place. We did the tour of the field at night. So calm and peaceful. The guide was very nice and gave us a lot of really cool info about the history of Lambeau Field. Went to a game the next day and was very pleased with every aspect. Food was great, lines went fast, all the spectators were very kind and fun to be with. Sadly GB lost… but it was still just a spectacular experience.

Great overall experience. The area is built up around the stadium so there is plenty to do before the game. In the winter they had a tubing hill and ice skating rink. Plenty of food and bar options. Inside we sat in the club level. I never had to wait for the bathroom or for food/drink. Concessions are all grab and go like a self service checkout. Really liked that feature.

I usually make it to a game every year and this year we decided to visit after football season. All I can say is well we are so lucky to have such a historic and beautiful stadium such as Lambeau Field. This is a bucket list visit and if you're you haven't made it here before you really need me to try and get here. Make sure to take the legendary tour and visit the Hall of Fame. You won't be disappointed. Even if you're not a Packers fan.

Attended a December game a couple years back. I was absolutely dreading the cold, however it ended up being pretty warm even with rain. I am not a packers fan, however I loved the atmosphere. The Packer fans we were surrounded by were a lot of fun. I love the surrounding town and how supportive the people who live there are of their local football team

I'm not really a football fan but my brother is and I had always heard about Lambeau Field so I went to take some pictures for him. So strange that it's just in the middle of a neighborhood. I can't even imagine the chaos on game day, but I suspect it is a lot of fun.

Iconic! Family Night was packed with people and activities, and the fireworks and laser show were impressive. A visit to training camp was delightful, and a stroll through the pro shop left me in awe, and I’m not even a Packers fan. Lambeau does things right.

I'm a Bears fan, but have to admit Lambeau Field is awesome. Love they kept it original and added in stages no altering the old. Sat in row 13 on Packers side, very cool to see players close up. Also, people working there and the fans are super nice. Certainly nicer than Soldier Field, and I know I won't get jumped parking in the streets of Green Bay. Just a great experience, but still bleed blue and orange.

Holy Cow! What a beauty! Our first visit and it was Amazing! Although there wasn’t a game going on. The stadium is open to anyone who wants to visit. There are stadium tours that take place every so often each day. The Fan Shop is Awesome! Any Packers fan would go nuts!
We enjoyed our visit, restaurants are open inside the stadium on the first floor. Great service, friendly staff all around.

Bucket list stop for all sports fans. We had a great experience here. We were rooting for the other team but didn't get hassled very much. Getting in and out of stadium was very easy. Go early spend some time watching around

It was finally time for us to go on the Legendary Lambeau tour, and we couldn’t have been more excited! Lambeau Field is an iconic destination in itself–even when there’s not a game going on! People come from all over the world to see this amazing stadium and learn about Packer history. The tour is over two hours long and a mile and a half of walking–and in our opinion, it is worth every minute and step! Our tour guides Pat and Rick were great and took us all over the stadium. You get to see some luxury suites, go up to the rooftop, sit in the end zone club seats, visit the press box, enter the visiting team’s locker room, and run through the players tunnel onto the side lines. It was so impressive and really incredible to see all the angles and seats we might never be able to experience on game day. And don’t get me wrong, there is no such thing as a bad seat at Lambeau…we just learned that some are way more luxurious than others! I highly recommend this tour; add it to your bucket list!

I've lived in Wisconsin the majority of my life and the 1/2/22 game was my first time here. (I know). It's a beautiful and huge stadium that was relatively easy to navigate. There is a good food and drink selection and all od the vendors are very friendly. I would definitely go again

Crazy cool place. I'm from Michigan but have visited twice. Most recently, I had the opportunity to go on a tour of the Atrium and learn about all the history of the Packers, see the suites above the field, and even walk out through the tunnel that the players come out of. The tour guide did a phenomenal job! My favorite fun fact that I learned was that this field is the last to have all aluminum seats. This is because they are all sold out to seat holders, and have been since 1960; If they made the seats more comfortable, they'd lose about 10,000 of them, and 10,000 people would lose their bought out seats. Very fun!

Attended an excursion with Viking Great Lakes Expeditions on the Polaris Ship. Lambeau is a wonderful place to visit. The tour was all inclusive even taking us through the tunnel the Packers entet the stadium. We went out to field level. Up to the suite levels and the Hall of Fame. The atrium section does have a restaurant and concessions as well as yhe pro shop.

No visit to the Green Bay area should be complete without a stop at Lambeau. Great area. Nice surrounding neighborhood. Iconic loca pub across the way. Super clean. Friendly locals!

Incredible stadium and always a great time. Such a historic team and facility. Highly recommend taking the tour and seeing the Hall of Fame. No matter where you're seated you get a great view. Parking is expensive in the stadium lot for game day so you either park a mile away or you pay to park on someone's lawn. If you're coming on a game day, plan on getting at least an hour and half early due to traffic.

Went to the Packers game vs Rams. First time here for a game! (I flew from NC to see the game!) What an amazing experience to be at the historic Packers stadium with almost 778,000 fans!!! The fans are out of this world passionate for our team! 💚💛💚💛 So much engery in the stadium. We were in the 1st row, section 114.

Where do I start?
This was my first time at Lambeau and it was everything I expected.. Had a great time from taking a night tour to seeing the Packers live in action against the Saints week 3.. I’ve seen the Packers play 4 times on the road in different cities and they’ve lost each time, so I said I think I have to visit Lambeau to see them get a win and I did just that.. Couldn’t have ask for a better game to see in the Jordan Love era..#GOPACKGO 🧀
P.S. We had one the best tour guides

2023 Week 15 Packers vs. Buccaneers. This was my first live NFL game! Lambeau and the people of Green Bay made this experience one to remember. I came for the history of the stadium and I was in awe the whole time I was in that building for the tour, and on Game Day. The tailgate party outside was amazing. The people of Green Bay may bleed green and gold. Yet they are the friendliest, and most welcoming, bunch of people that I have ever met. Even if I did come to cheer for the other team. Where else can you say that you’ve met/talked/drank with an owner of the home team? I will definitely be back.

This was a nice outing we had to Lambeau Field. I was hoping it wouldn't be too cold for me, but I went prepared and snugged. We drove from Racine, WI, about 2 hours. Since I was with my husband, the ride went by super quick. They have the championship rings with the dates on them, and you can stand in the middle of the ring for a perfect photo, which we took plenty of them of this place to add to our vacation memories. We also got a cheese head hat for my sister-in-law. There was an ice skating arena, which was busy but not crowded, and they had a restroom for guest nearby the I've arena. There were other things around which I didn't take photos of, but if you are looking to go visit this place, do look up information on it so you won't miss out.

I went on the stadium tour while they were re-seeding the grass. I also went through the Hall of Fame, and looked through the pro shop. After, me and my family ate in 1919 where I got buffalo wings which were pretty dang good. If you're bored and on vacation in Green Bay, I would recommend checking out Lambeau Field.

Lambeau had been on the top of my bucket list of NFL stadiums. I was there once in the off-season, and I got to see the Packers play (and win, duh) in Philadelphia. But I wanted the Lambeau experience. I finally got it when tickets were cheap in the beginning of the '22 season for week' 18. I grabbed them. It ended up being the game vs. Detroit which was the "win & in" game. Tickets ended up skyrocketing, and luckily I had an extra one to sell! The Packers unfortunately did lose that game, but I got to see Aaron Rodgers' final game in Green & Gold!
The Lambeau experience did not disappoint! After a nice in-car "tailgate" of a schnitzel sammich and fries, it was time to bundle up well for the Green Bay December night. It was FREEZING, though it was probably only in the mid 20s. The energy in the stadium was something I'd never seen before as the fans were lively the entire game!
I definitely want to come back!

A dream of an experience. The tour was super informative and well done. You get to go all over!! The Hall of Fame tour is exceptional and you really need to dedicate time to go through it all. Every single part of this place is a treasure. The pro shop is very reasonable, the food was top shelf, the sweet Brandy old fashioned was delightful. Get the pretzel wrapped brat! Thank you to everyone who made my first trip to Lambeau better than my wildest dreams. I can't wait to go back.

This was my first time at Lambeau, and I LOVED the experience. We parked in a yard down the street, and it was about a 5 minute walk to our gate. We were there for the Packer/Bear game, and everyone we met from both sides was fun. Loved the history and can't wait to go back.

Well worth the 37.00 for tour. I highly recommend it. Very informative even if not a packers fan. (Which I'm not) (fins up). They were very accommodating and knowledgeable. The history behind the stadium is pretty cool also.
The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame & Museum is a tribute to some of the team's most famous players, and it has exhibits devoted to their history. The museum also has interactive exhibits that are designed to be accessible by everyone.
I visited with my family and it was entertaining and informative. This museum is clean and well organized. I highly recommend it. If you're visiting Green Bay, Wisconsin this is a must go place. I'm conclusion, I really loved this placed, to learn about it's history and unparalleled players, coaches and it's people.

This is a great experience. If you don't have small children with you, I recommend the full Legendary Tour + Hall of Fame. It's $50, but the tour is almost two hours and the Hall of Fame will take at least another hour. You get to see everything (except the locker room and player areas) this way. Going up on the roof and through the tunnel onto the field are pretty cool experiences. We did the 3pm tour, so by the time we got to the Hall of Fame, we were the only ones there. It was pretty sweet to have the whole place to ourselves. If you're a Packer lover, make sure to check out this tour!

I'm not a Packers fan but you can't help but marvel at something so cool. We stopped after a 30 minute drive from Appleton. Came to have lunch at 1919 Kitchen & Tap and wanted to just check things out. Great stadium, great experience and really cool to see. Wasn't too hungry so had some apps as a meal. Chicken tenders, Mac and cheese , fancy deviled eggs. The other gents with me had burgers and soup. Everything was delicious. Definitely be back if in the area.

The hall of fame and field tour was wonderful! What an awesome facility with amazing history. This museum was very informative. Giving me a greater understanding of just how hard it is to create such history. To be a successful team, owned by their fans. It was very well put together. The displays were just so informative.
I think the only concern I had was the level of comfort they had in letting people in with limited security.
Otherwise, such history here. The tour was really nice, and the game was pretty chilly.
I have to say, the one thing I was truly impressed with is the hospitality here. People were genuinely friendly. Took a couple of photos with your great fans, even though I was sporting another team.
Thank you, Green Bay!

While attending my first game I had the pleasure of attending the Packers Hall of Game. As biased as any fan would be, I'd like to be very as critical and unbiased as possible for this review. There is great information here from of all the greats with amazing time capsule displays and information. The flow of traffic is odd and not as streamlined at best. I felt that some of the newer displays were too reliant on walls with facts printed on them but are offset by the amazing set pieces like the livingroom evolution display and the ceiling bicycles. It's very fairly priced and very accessible. You can spend anywhere from 20 minutes to 4 hours depending on how much Packer history you want to soak in. I highly recommend the hall of fame even if you must power through it at the last minute with limited time but I Highly recommend Purchasing your tickets in advanced and planning for it! Go Pack Go!

Our Legendary Lambeau tour tickets came with admission to the Packers Hall of Fame and the stadium tour, so we checked those out first. The Hall of Fame & Museum are very well done! The franchise has a fascinating history and is one of the oldest teams in the NFL. It’s so interesting to learn how the team began, how Lambeau Field came to be, about the legends that used to play and coach there, and how the Super Bowl Trophy got named after a Packers head coach. If you love history or football (or both!), you will be very impressed by this museum!

Hands down, the Best NFL museum and attraction dedicated to one team franchise. A bucket list "must see" for any sports fan, particularly Pro Football. This place oozes history, tradition, and a commitment to excellence. So many displays you are almost overwhelmed. Outstanding full floor Gift shop. Restaurant 1919, also in the atrium. If you get to Green Bay, you must visit and be prepared to regret it. Only the Canton Pro Football Hall of Fame can match this towering edifice.

The Door County Maritime Museum is a waterfront museum showcasing exhibits that delve into the maritime history of the region. It houses an array of remarkable artifacts such as vintage maps, model ships and memorabilia for visitors to explore. The museum also features a restored tugboat, John Purves, and a historic Coast Guard vessel moored outside. Established in 1969, the main building has a distinctive ten-story high lighthouse tower that overlooks Sturgeon Bay and its marina.
Is a great learning experience about all the ships that went down in the waters around the door peninsula. The sights to see from the new tower that they built are breath taking. Definitely a place to stop and see and learn all about the ships, crew, the lighthouses and what made door county the great place it is today!

I've been wanting to check this museum out since seeing it on one of the Door County Trolley Tours a couple years ago. We finally made a Sturgeon Bay trip happen and we stopped in finally. It is a very cool thing to do for $30. My wife and I went and had a very educational time. There is so much that I didn't know about this area and Wisconsin history as a whole. The observation tower is really cool and you can see for miles!! The ability to see all the Marina's and boats going up and down the waterways is neat. I've been into boats and Maritime things since I was a kid. Seeing the history of Sturgeon Bay and its boating history was really cool. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone interested in history, boats, maritime history, and it's good for families and kids.

This is a wonderful museum on the Sturgeon Bay waterfront that educates the visitors about boats, ships, and lighthouses, and the people who’ve built and operated them through the years. We toured the new tower first (with great views from the top), and then the older section with the wonderful boat exhibits, beautiful mural, videos, and interactive displays about the many shipwrecks and how to operate a boat safely and competently. Right before they closed we bought a T-shirt in the nice gift shop, where the friendly employee told us we could come back the next morning for the tugboat tour. We did, and the competent tour guide (who had been a boat operator himself) showed us the 149-foot John Purves Tugboat that had been restored after being built in 1919 and traveling long distances in dangerous waters. Usually seeing only small tugboats in the Savannah River, we were amazed that this very large one was designed for a 13-man crew for long trips and had private bedrooms and bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a large engine room. (We read recently on the website that this tugboat is being repaired and will be open for guests again May 1.) This is a high quality museum, and we enjoyed our time there!

I went with my daughter in law and 2 grandkids and it was really cool. All of the history of Door County was interesting and the interactive displays were informative. We really enjoyed looking at the models of the boats as well. We will be back!

The staff were all friendly and helpful. The building was clean and pretty well laid out. I was just expecting much more, so it was a bit underwhelming. My expectation was elevated since it was billed as a top area attraction in many Door County brochures. It wasn't terrible by any means, just okay

Huge museum, we enjoyed about 3 hours there. We didn't expect to be there for so long but were pleasantly surprised.
We paid $5 extra for the tour of the tug boat and that was so worth it! It was great to see the restoration work up close and really appreciated all the history included in the tour.
Going up and down through the tower was also a very nice aspect of the museum.
We learned a ton of maritime history and had fun.

This is a very good museum that told the extensive history of shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay. The displays are excellent t particularly he history of this town’s role in WW II production of wartime ships. Give yourself several hour to watch the various videos at the different displays. Take a tour of the tugboat and go up the tower for a panoramic view of the harbor. A lot of good information on the building of the canal and the role of the local Coast Guard. Many different model

Great history lesson on ships and shipbuilding in Wisconsin. We enjoyed an hour in the Tower Tour and another hour on the Tug Tour. The Tower Tour had a fascinating 11 minute video followed by a ride to the tenth floor of a museum with each floor being a different theme. I didn't know how big of an impact Wisconsin had in the nations ships! Our Tug tour was unique, Larry our docent was full of facts. The stairs are steep, but plenty of handles to hold on to. I recommend spending the $20 per person and doing both tours!

Nice museum, depending on what you are looking for. It was windy the day I went, so the balcony was closed at the top of the tower, so views behind glass were all you could get. Each story below had a little room with info on different things, and there were a few rooms on the main level as well.
The website said tours of the tugboat, but was never mentioned with paid admission. Not sure if it was a separate cost, or you could just go outside to see it.

Wonderful museum with a great view of sturgeon Bay. Has a fantastic simulator to let you try your hand at driving a large boat through the bay. Museum also contains the original Fresnel lens from the Raleigh Point Lighthouse. The tug was closed for the season, maybe next time.

We are tourists from Kansas visiting the area and we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed learning about Maritime history at this museum. The museum is well-organized and informative, with exhibits that are laid out in a logical order. We started at the top of the lighthouse tower and worked our way down, with each floor offering a new exhibit. We were so fascinated by all the information that we could have easily spent all day here.
The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. In our opinion, this is one of the best museums we have visited. If you’re a fan of museums, you won’t want to miss this one!

This place is amazing!!! Very clean, organized, and maintained. There is so much to do exploring and it has a neverending learning environment about Maritime ships.
There are ten floors, each one unique to visit. All the floors are accessible by elevator and stairs to find something new and entertaining for all ages. Hands on interactive games and stimulation for a positive learning experience.
A little pricey but it is worth every penny spent. Wheel chair and disability accessible. Very child friendly with many hands on interactive games to explore with the family.
The front desk staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They took the time to answer any and all questions as needed.
This business is open year round, as the ship tour is only seasonal open in May through the summer months only.
Overall a great time spent here, two thumbs up and you will not be disappointed. Definitely coming back to explore again as there was so much to do and see, not all was done in a day.

This is a very nice museum. There is a lot to see here and read. We did the Tugboat tour also and I would highly recommend it. It took five years to restore it to the beauty it is today

Went to share in the swearing in of our daughter into the Coast Guard Reserves. She spent six years serving our country and is now onto her next big adventure rebuilding war birds.
The tower is amazing. You need to watch the video before going up. Take the elevator to the top, enjoy the view, then walk back down and experience each floor. They did an amazing job on each level explaining the history of Door County.
Once you're done with that, roam all the areas on the ground level. Tons of things to see, read, and learn.
It was nice to know that active duty are free and retired military have a discount. Regardless though, it's worth every penny for the entrance fee.
Awesome job to the Maritime Museum!!
Cave Point County Park is a natural wonderland located on the eastern side of Door County peninsula near Whitefish Bay. It boasts stunning coastal cliffs, rock formations and sea caves that attract photographers, kayakers and even scuba divers. Visitors can take an easy Black Trail hike starting at Whitefish Dunes State Park Parking Lot to view these popular natural landmarks along Lake Michigan.
Short hiking trails along the shore were great, loved all the rocks. Water was very clear. Cliff jumped here in the past and was fun but water was a little shallow that day. Beautiful place!

Excellent snowshoeing and beautiful frozen features all winter. Exercise caution if you are nearing the edge of the ice as Wisconsin natives will tell you it has a bit of a dangerous reputation in the colder seasons. Unfortunately tourists leave little rock statues all over the place in the summer which takes away from the natural aspect of the serene rock beaches. One of Door County's hidden gems.

Very beautiful park, the waves were pounding the shoreline with 5-6 foot waves, you definitely wouldn’t fall off into the water, you’re about 15-20 feet above the water, spectacular wave action against the rocky shoreline, very uneven walking paths, but would like to return!!

I can’t believe the sheer beauty of this park. It was a very short walk to some gorgeous views - people of all ages and athletic abilities will find it easily accessible. There is some rough terrain by way of roots as you get further along the path, but nothing too serious. The water is so clear and the cliffs are incredible. I would spend every day here if I could.

This is a beautiful park. It was a very easy walk along the lake. You walk in the forest and cut into the lake to see the bluffs, or dip your toes in the water. In the middle of the trail, you transition into the state park and get to the dunes/beach. Highly recommend.
The amusement park Bay Beach Amusement Park is perfect for those who are looking for a little fun in the Green Bay area. With rides and attractions such as bumper cars, a Ferris wheel & slides, the amusement park has something for everyone. Located near the mouth of the Fox River, Bay Beach Amusement Park is perfect if you're looking to have some family fun.
Still a great experience after all these years! Free admission, free parking, ride tickets are only twenty-five cents, and all the rides are 4 tickets or less. There are several food shacks, a gift shop, playground, restrooms, shelters, and many different rides. You can ride on two different miniature trains and/or the ferris wheel to take in some spectacular views of the bay.
This is a fantastic place to take your kids for a day of fun! Highly recommended!
Many gyms and Pokestops for the Go players

Amazing park to take the kids. Ride tickets are only 25¢ (some rides take 2 or 3 tickets) so it is affordable for almost everyone. The small train ride is especially fun. It is right next to the bay with several concession options. Pretty park surroundings. There's mini-golf and go carts across the street. A great animal sanctuary within walking distance.

There were so many fun rides for the kids. Some of the rides aren't as adult friendly as we wished they would have been, but we enjoyed most of them! Our children aged 5 and 9 enjoyed all the rides they went on! The bathrooms were clean, the playground area is shaded enough to provide some respite from the heat. The food in the Cafe area was very delicious as well! Most rides cost 2 tickets. The huge roller coaster is 4 tickets a person. Our youngest enjoyed the train ride around the grounds. We highly recommend this place for cheap fun with kids.

A very family friendly establishment! I have visited the amusement park and picnic areas too many times to count and each time I have always enjoyed the rides, the atmosphere of the environment, the relatively quick lines, along with the professionalism of the staff ensuring both the safety and entertainment of guests.
Also, at the price of 25¢ per ticket and most of the rides needing about 2-3 tickets is really easy on the wallet for fun family entertainment.
It was very refreshing to see new rides being added to the roster like the Zippin' Pippin', Bay Beast and the 100 ft diameter Big Wheel which I got to ride yesterday. I am glad to be able to have such a magnificent place that has attractions suited for both adults and kids alike.
Hope to visit again soon!

A beautiful amusement park for a relaxing day with family. The park has different rides for kids and family. Ride tickets starting from a ticket to 4 tickets. A ticket costs 25 cents. For a family of 4 , 25$ tickets might be sufficient.
You will have a variety of options for lunch and snacks, if you wish you can bring your own food too.
Overall you can spend a day in the park but if you are short on time then only rides and snacks in the park can take 4 to 5 hours.
There are a few rides closed / under maintenance.
Kids loved zippin pippin , yo yo , boat ride, car ride and some of the ride names i can't remember now :D
There is lots of parking space available, restrooms are available near parking lot D and at the pavilion.

Had a great time at this city run amusement park with our two and six year old kids. Lots of rides for younger kids and a few for tweeners like a roller coaster formerly owned by Elvis. Lines went bad on a sunny Saturday morning.
Parking is free, free admission, and ride tickets are 25 cents each, with each ride bring one to four tickets (most are only one of two for younger kids rides).
Small concession stands with more reasonable prices than any park I've been to in a while. Check it out if you have kids and are visiting Green Bay!

Clean. Friendly. Awesome atmosphere and experience all-around! Great for our group of 7, ranging in age from a fresh 8 to 65. There was fun for all. Pricing was very family friendly from the 25 cent tickets (highest needed was 4 for Zippin Pippin roller coaster) to the snack shacks and gift store. HIGHLY recommend for all ages!

We had an INCREDIBLE day here on our visit to Green Bay! We spent ten bucks to play for hours with our kids. (Our kids are younger; it’d be more expensive for older kids to go on more of the big rides.)
Rides were all in good shape and well staffed.

Lots of rides down when we went, but always a great time. You need to purchase tickets for $.25 each. The rides are anywhere from 1-4 tickets. The average person uses $5-$10 worth.

This was our first time being here and we really enjoyed it! Ticket prices and even the food prices are very reasonable. Some of the rides are not as adult friendly but even so we were able to find plenty to do. The Ferris wheel offers great views of the bay! We ran out of time before we ran out of tickets so it's nice that tickets can be saved for future visits!

Must visit if you are in Green Bay or planning to make a trip in door county.
Beat part is how cheap are the rides. There were almost 8-10 for rides for kids and adults together and 6-8 rides for small kids and we as a family of 3 finished all in 15 dollars.
You can imagine how cheap it is. We almost spent 5 hours there. Beautiful location just next to bay beach . Beautiful weather.
We visited on Friday and it was crowded.

Elvis can't be wrong. Old time charm and a ton of fun for a small price. No entrance fee - 25¢ tickets and no ride takes more than 4 tickets. One wooden coaster, swings ferris wheel, number cars... Perfect place to bring the kids or just have fun with your wife. Sitting in the old time coaster seats makes you realize how we have changed in the past couple generations, right squeeze. Right on the bay. Every city should have one of these.

Such a great place for families with littles! Many rides for kids UNDER 42-50inches. Concessions were great and the hot Bavarian pretzels were amazing! Good pricing! CASH ONLY FOR FOOD. The Building For Kids is a non-profit, play-based children's museum that caters to kids aged 7 and under. It boasts a diverse collection of interactive exhibits that provide hands-on learning experiences. Visitors can expect an impressive range of exhibits, including the bank, crane, semi-truck/shipping/receiving displays which are popular with kids. Adults can also enjoy the giant Rube Goldberg machines and top-notch water exhibit. The facility is well-maintained and staffed by friendly personnel.
So much to do & explore at this children’s museum! Admission is $11/person. They also have discounted access passes if you meet the criteria. (Unemployment, reduced lunches, etc. Full list is on their website!) For parking, I highly recommend the parking garage adjacent from the museum. (There’s currently a lot of construction on the street, broken meters, closest free parking is far up street, etc.) Parking fee is $3 for 4 hours or less. They take cash or card at the kiosk!

Currently here now at the museum. They say geared for children 7 and under. Meanwhile they have what look like teenagers running around wild. The little kids can't even enjoy it. The big kids are on top of the tongue hitting the ceiling. They are inside the block net with the claw. All places they probably should not be. No supervision and none of the workers are saying anything to these kids or parents. I have 2 5 year olds that can't enjoy and do things. Won't be staying long.

Great visit with kiddos ages 5,6, and 9. All had a blast! We have visited numerous childrens museums across the country, and this one competes with the best of them. Impressive size and variety of exhibits. The bank, the crane, and the semi truck/shipping/receiving exhibits were favored by the kids. Adults were impressed with the giant Rube Goldberg machines and top notch water exhibit. Exhibits were clean and staff was friendly. We would definitely return!

We have been to this children's museum many times over the years since we are members of Discovery World in Milwaukee that includes free entrance for me and my family. We realized while traveling this weekend for the Calumet County fair which is close to Appleton that we have not been there is a few years so we decided to give it a go! We were pleasantly surprised to see some new options for playing and they completely ripped out the gift ship to make room for a Schneider Truck and fuel station as well as a mechanic and dock sorting area which is amazing for a truly hands on experience and quite engaging for their imaginations. They also have updated their water room to include a couple new water stations so all in all this was a great new experience for an old great!

The Building for Kids has been a generational staple in Appleton, and it continues to innovate and bring hours of entertainment to this day. We have stopped into many children's museums across the state, and the Building for Kids is one of the most interactive and educational places we have ever been to. We have a six-year-old who has been going since he was two, and I think he will still find it fun for a couple years, yet. Thank you for being so awesome!

Clean and nice staff. Same exhibits all year round, other than the innovation lab. Which can be explored in 30 min or so.
Membership is affordable and has nice perks when traveling, just not worth it for the museum alone as the kids get bored after a few visits.

Historically great experiences there, even when I was a child. Biggest issue is that the weekday hours are highly discriminatory of school age children. It would be a fun after school activity for young school age kids, but the hours of them closing at 4 pm makes being an after school activity impossible. If employment is an issue, hire more people. Stay open till around 6 pm. That would make more sense.

Visitors can explore fascinating artifacts and learn about significant events through interactive displays, engaging multimedia presentations, and informative tours. The museum provides an immersive experience that celebrates the past while inspiring present-day curiosity about this vibrant community.
I've been wanting to stop by forever but the timing was never right.
I'm so glad I was able to get inside this time. There's so much to see!
A very good selection of historical records for the city of Appleton. The building is an awesome piece of architecture for sure, I really enjoyed the woodwork, windows and fireplace downstairs.
The Houdini exhibit was a pleasure. There are a really good selection of hands on things to do that made it all so much fun.
The "Stone of Hope: Black Experience in the Fox Cities" was put together very well and I really enjoyed all the pictures. I'm a visual person, so there's never enough pictures😃. The stories on the display flowed along nicely.
You should stop by, the whole family can find something to enjoy and it only takes about an hour and a half.

A nice museum, though very small. The exhibits are brief and do not take long to get through. All in all plan to spend 30-60 mins total depending on how fast you read. Houdini is the exhibit still that has the most appeal, the rest are fairly dull and simple. Based on the price of admission, we were expecting much more as compared to museums throughout the rest of the state that charge the same. $10/person means a family of 3 (2 adults 1 child). Came to $27.50. The engagement and interactions you truly get are minimal. Mostly posters with facts, a lack of artifacts etc. If the price were still $5 as others have mentioned, I feel that would be more appropriate for the time and experience you get here. Times are tough etc I understand, but that means put forward some more into your museum and fill in many of your empty rooms with more for us to enjoy then you can justify charging double.

Based off of others reviews online, I was under the impression that there would be 3 levels to explore. My family of three paid full price for admission, but one level was completely closed off. We were not warned about this beforehand. I’m very disappointed and feel this is unfair. The 2 floors we did check out were very fun. The Houdini exhibit is especially interesting and very hands on for kids.

We went here on a whim to kill some time while in Appleton. The museum holds a Harry Houdini exhibit on the third floor of what was once a Masonic Temple, which of course, was interesting in and of its own right. The museum also had a traveling exhibit if DaVinci and replicas of his recovered drawings some of which you can manipulate and some of which are off limits to handling. It was neat to see some of his drawings come to life. The Houdini exhibit was neat and very hands on but I wanted to see more original pieces and relics from his life. It was cool to see how he did his tricks.

Kind of disappointing. Cost $10 for kids & $15 for adults. Of the very few interactive displays some didn't even work. The DaVinci set up is cool....but again....it all fails to be interactive...this is cool stuff...it should've been set up to allow kids to use it and get to understand it better. The ABC of Fox Valley display in the basement...was very very disapointing. I didnt even really understand the purpose of it...only neat thing, was some free post cards the kids could color...lol.
Over all...id say not worth the money.
Dont think i will be taking my grands back for another visit.

One of the smaller museums we have visited.
They were a little skimpy on exhibits.
Our favorite parts were the Houdini hands on exhibits and the architecture of the building.
It was worth the price of admission for the fun we had here.
We only spent about 30 minutes here.
We expected more based on how big the building appears on the outside.

It was a good time for kids in the Hudini area. It was informational very hands on. We had fun picking locks and finding out how some tricks were performed. Great exhibition for the whole family. The other exhibits were a bit disappointing. I enjoy history deeply but at the time we visited all the history was just presented in text. Large banners and walls filled with words. The kiddos and young adults did not engage with the content presented in this manner. The information contained in was fantastic but not delivered well. That part was disappointing. The building itself was beautiful and probably my favorite part of the whole visit.

Nice little museum. Limited of course given the size of Appleton, but everything exhibited was very well done and informative. We especially liked the Harry Houdini exhibit and it was very extensive and interactive. My grandkids loved performing some of the magic tricks! They even explained how he did some of most famous tricks. That exhibit was worth the price of admission!

This place was fun. It was a very small place way smaller than we thought by the size of the building. But we also didn't look into it before hand. But we were happy. The Houdini exhibit was great to see and learn about. It was nice because we went when there was not a lot of people. We would go back here most likely.

The artists should pay rent for the space and utilities, since their art is something that a 10-year old could create better. Don't waste your money and talk to the local government so they don't waste their/your money supporting this garbage. Tell them to bring in real talent. If art students don't have artistic talent, they should find a new profession and not count on the government to support them. They surely couldn't sell this stuff.

If you are intrigued with Inventions ahead of their time and the physics of how things work, the da Vinci traveling exhibit at the History Museum is for you! It's fantastic! Some of the exhibits are hands on. Two floors of exhibits and copies of his artwork. Wonderful and informative placards throughout. Definitely worth the cost ...plus you also have access to the Houdini museum!

Quite a busy place with a large wine selection. We went at 10 to beat the rush and were greeted right away and picked our selections. Unfortunately, the person working with us wasn't the most friendly and spent very little time with us, even though she only had one other couple at the time. Would like more history, a better explanation of the wines so you don't feel like drink up and leave. We did buy 19 bottles even though the tasting experience was not what we expected.

I visited today and had a fantastic tour! There is so much more history involved that I learned about. To think that sailing ships came that tiny bit in from Lake Michigan with cargo was fascinating. The tunnels below were so cool to see. We didn't see any ghosts though. Don't miss the party room on the fourth floor (third if you don't count the cellars) where a lot of historical items can be viewed. There were several wines I really liked and I bought two home to enjoy. Thanks to Donna for a very informative tour.

Heidi was very patient and explained everything to us. She made our visit very pleasant and enjoyable.
Restored World War II submarine, a 19th-century shipbuilding town & boat rides on the river.
I was very fortunate to share a special overnight trip inside the USS Cobia with my son.
The program was a lot of fun and very informative. Our museum guides did a great job providing an interactive experience for our scout pack by putting them through a mild training exercise.
Sleeping overnight inside the submarine was quite a unique experience; one that my son will never forget.
Overall we learned a lot about life inside a WWII sub and came away with a new appreciation for the life of a Navy seaman.

Well curated museum, nice displays, and a lot of interactive items for kids. Definitely a niche subject. The submarine tour is really cool. They have modified the entrance so you can take a regular stairway in it instead of using a patch with a ladder.

Fantastic museum!! Totally worth visiting if you are into boats, history, invention, craftsmanship, ship models and more. Not only are there tablets available to talk you thru the submarine but we brought our navy man who also talked a tour of his adventures as we went thru the ship. Don't skip this, extremely well done 👏

We were there on the christmas at the museum day. It was free admission, there were drinks and vendors and santa and all sorts of things. I thought it should have been much busier than it was. The cobia was awesome and the men on board telling stories were so wonderful.

My husband and I enjoyed the various displays and learned many new interesting facts from the state's history. We especially liked learning about the area's submarine building history. The building was very clean and easy to navigate. The museum gift shop also had many interesting items and souvenirs.

We visited on a Friday afternoon and basically had the whole place to ourselves, which was awesome especially on the submarine. I highly recommend this museum to anyone who is interested in nautical history. USS Cobia is amazing.

#usscobiaovernight Had a great time visiting the museum and spent the night sleeping in the USS Cobia submarine! Definitely worth the trip to learn more about WW2 submariners and the important role Manitowoc played in supporting our troops. Even in the middle of the winter, a great place to visit!

We had a great experience and highly recommend stopping by this museum! We took our 3 kids- 9,10,11 years old and they all had a good time. The submarine tour is a must- the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and kind. The museum has so much to look at and do. There's also a fun water feature room that all our kids enjoyed the most.
I loved that there was a Disability Pride Month recognition on their TV and also Pride items for sale in the gift shop! Awesome to see!

Love going on the Cobia and seeing all of the interesting exhibits. I come from a Navy family so this place speaks to my heart. It's neat to learn about subs and the men who man them. They are a special breed for sure! The guided tour was nice and you get some funny stories about the sailors. Definitely a must see if you are in the area.

Museum is top notch, but the sub tour (even just with the guided tablet) was the best boat tour I've done, even better than the USS Midway in San Diego. Hopefully, you'll bump into a few vets who are on board to share stories and background of the sub. Simply Wonderful!

Another stop on a road trip my son and I took touring Wisconsin in 2022. We arrived just in time to book the last submarine tour. I had never been inside a submarine before and it was quite a sight! My son and I are both over 6 feet tall and had just a bit of difficulty maneuvering through it but did just fine. More so difficult for me cause I'm a bit husky but again, I still made it. After the tour, we had enough time to walk through the museum and see everything before they closed. Price of admission to the museum is included if you buy submarine tour tickets. Definitely will chew up an hour or 2 with the tour and museum but not an all day excursion. Plan other sight seeing or fun activities if you're doing a family fun day. You can always stop at Bud Williams Burgers for a great old fashioned burger, fries and Coke!

Neat museum. The model ships were very cool and impressive. Submarine tour was great. Lots of equipment packed into every nook and cranny on that sub. Tour guide was very educated on the topic and equipment.
Bookworm Gardens is a botanical garden that offers community events and features sections inspired by popular children's books. Despite the parking lot being full, it doesn't feel crowded during the day on Saturdays. Although there isn't a large selection of blooming flowers, the ones available are set up beautifully. Every area of the garden has a theme based on children's books, providing an enjoyable and unique way to experience classics like "The Three Little Pigs.
Such an amazing place! My son had been here for field trips and loved it, but we went for the first time as a family for their special Halloween event. Clean and family friendly, with tons of interactive elements to keep kids busy. Can't wait to go back again.

Book worm gardens is a near magical place, where books come to life. There are plenty of things to touch and explore, from houses and forts to musical instruments and nature!
We've been here many times, with children ranging from 1 to 14, and they always enjoy each moment. I would say that, in general, children 2-7 will get the most fun out of this experience, but other ages are sure to enjoy it too.

This place is AWESOME. There are so many areas for kids to enjoy and explore. Every book they have ever loved and new ones to find are here. Admission online is approximately $8 but worth it. My kids kept saying "this is magical" and they're almost 9
And 7.5.
Definitely worth the cost and visit.

A visual treat for young and old alike! The stories represented through the park's exhibits range across tales familiar to all ages, and both the hard and softscaping are breath taking. Just be sure to make an appointment before you go!

This place looked really cool and I wanted to see it. Didn't realize they charged to go through it, thought it was more of a botanical garden. Parking is kinda limited for as busy as they get. Didn't realize it was also geared more for kids. When I seen all the curtain crawlers running around, I had to pass.

Seriously the cutest. Our girls are older teens and still loved it - we had a blast trying to figure out which story went with each garden, and sometimes were introduced to new stories we hadn't read yet. Definitely worth a trip (or more!) to this magical place!

We came during the day on a Saturday, even though parking lot was full, it didn't feel crowed on our walk. Not a large selection of flowers blooming, but was is there is set up beautifully. All the areas of the garden are themed to children's books. It was a fun, unique way experience some of the classics like 3 little pigs. With a general addition, you can go around as many times as you. My 5 year has a blast.

Been meaning to go for some time but didn't with COVID. Kids are 6, 8, and 10 and were less than impressed than a toddler/preschooler would have been, but still had a good time. They really liked the Laura Ingalls Wilder area and the music/art area and were entertained for about 2.5 hours. I think it would be nicer for local families who could drop in, read the laminated book they provide and view the accompanying display casually. Honestly, most of the books in the displays I had never heard of and we're fairly well read; many are short children's books, so it would have been better to have gotten a bunch from the library and read them before the visit. Also, for adults, the garden itself doesn't feature many unique plants as a standard botanical garden and there's few labels, although it's well maintained and you can tell they are trying to expand the variety.
Bridget Van Laanen — Google review
I had no idea this place was a botanical garden, too! The flowers were GORGEOUS, the storybook spots were so cute, and the park was clearly designed with kids and interaction in mind. I didn't know most of the references, but was delighted to discover that I knew a few! It was fun to explore and to find so many little easter eggs, if you will.

This place was amazing! Even my stubborn 12 year old had a good time exploring. Tickets are $2 cheaper if you buy from their website, and they even recommend that as you are walking to the gate. I could spend a few hours here wandering and maybe actually reading a few of the books they have around.

This garden is super cute and homeschooler moms dream! There are a lot of interactive play areas and cute little activities to do. Each section of the garden represented a children's book. They had lots of little libraries to choose books to read to your children while you were browsing through the gardens. The plants were beautiful, the gardens were clean, and the new bridge is fantastic! I would highly recommend bringing your kids here no matter what age.

What a lovely place that brings to life children books! To learn that over 1,000 volunteers helped bring the vision to life was jaw-dropping. Wow! Talk about a community project.
Walking towards the entrance you see the Magic School Bus Garden and Picnic area. The archway welcomes guests into a space with picnic tables and of course The Magic School Bus. Please remember to take your trash with you if you eat here during your visit.
And what’s a place based off literature without a Little Free Library. It’s located right across from the picnic grove.
Small signs throughout the gardens inform visitors of the book which inspired the respective space. Stone towers hold books for families to sit and read.
There were a number of groups visiting on the day we went, but we made the most of our trip.
My baby shower theme was based on children’s books because of my love for reading so bring my twins here made it a full-circle moment.

This place is so fun. It really brings certain aspects of popular books to life. My son loved it so much he wouldn't leave. Words can't really describe it.
It's perfect for kids, but it's also adult friendly. The walkway is a soft texture with mulch on top. No hard pressure on your knees from standing or walking. There are also lots of benches and chairs to sit and read and enjoy nature.
The price is also friendly and supports the park. For being in its 13th season, it's in great condition. You can tell people really love this garden. The landscape is also very appealing and well-kept. Very scenic.

An absolutely magical garden with lots of care and design put in. Fun for kids and adults, lots to do for little people (and grown-ups). The books available around every corner to read will bring you right back to childhood. Mostly shaded and easily accessible for all levels. Seriously, the best garden we've been to in a long time. Worth the stop! Buy your tickets online in advance for a discount, easy entry when you arrive.
Kohler-Andrae State Park is a stunning park in Wisconsin that boasts beaches, sand dunes, and hiking trails. It also offers campsites and a nature center for visitors to enjoy. Located conveniently off freeway 43 and not too far from Milwaukee metro area, it is an ideal destination for nature lovers seeking some peace and tranquility away from the city hubbub.
This is an absolutely gorgeous State Park. It is very conveniently located right off the freeway 43. It is also not too far from Milwaukee metro area. It is by far one of my most favorite parks in Wisconsin! I wish it was larger, so I could spend even more time there! It is quite busy in the summertime, but is more peaceful and tranquil in the winter.

Beautiful state park. Lots of trails and the views are beautiful. Very nice beach all along. The cordwalk is so cool. Definitely a little cooler by the lake so I'm glad I grabbed a sweatshirt with the breeze. Kids had a great time even and with teens that is not always easy

This was a beautiful state park. Well-maintained trails, and lots of sandy beaches.
While we didn't use them, it also looked like a lot of camp sites on the south side of th park as well.

This was a beautiful state park to visit. When I arrived, there was a long line of people waiting to purchase day passes/year passes to get into the park. I had my sticker, so I could go past the traffic. One woman stopped me to let me know there were some parking spots in lots 2-7. I found a parking spot, right away. There were bathrooms and even an outdoor rinse-off station. The beach was packed on a Sunday afternoon. The further along I walked, the less busy the beach became. There were paths to walk through and many entrances to the sandy beach. There were hardly any rocks in the water. I saw so many trees, especially pine trees. It was a lovely place to see. So relaxing to rest on the beach and put my feet in the water. I suggest driving further down to lot 5-7 and entering the beach from there. You'll have access to a less crowded part of the beach. The further I walked away from the first beach entrance, the closer I approached homes on the beach. I was surprised to see that people lived inside the park. It was unexpected. I had parked by the Amphitheater and walked all the way to the beach. There was a path that led me to bathrooms. Then I crossed the street and made it to the beach. It was a less traffic-jammed way to attempt visiting the beach. The pine trees were everywhere. Talk about a pine haven! I even saw a 4 trunk pine! That was neat. 😄 What was most interesting was seeing the lengthy driftwood tree trunk sticking straight up out of the sand with a Seagull perched on the top.

What a nice walk by the beach. Still a bit of snow in the sand and it's almost April. But I am jealous of my Sheboygan friends to be able to come here and walk even at the end of a Wisconsin winter. The gulls, the lapping of little boats along piers. The lighthouse. The shells and polished glass, and driftwood. Summers must be great to swim here. The kite surfers. I could just spend a day sitting by Lake Michigan doing nothing. Beautiful waters up here.

A must go to park when in Wisconsin. Visit the Natural Center to learn interesting facts about a second floor view of the long beach. We were lucky enough to find out the were having a lantern walk at night event and this was amazing as my husband and I are celebrating out anniversary, this just made it extra special. There is camping available as well. The park closes at 11PM and no lifeguards.

This was a regular picnic park as I was growing up. Haven't been there in years. Never went in November. The winds off the lake were brisk and chilly. The dunes and grasses along the beach are unique. Much of the lake view path is on corded planks for easier walking than loose sand. The information facilities were closed for the season. We also checked out the campgrounds, which looked well spaced, level and, of course, leaf covered.
Finally, we drove up to the forest trails. A wide mowed path through woods and Prarie grasses. Even with a map, the intersections were a bit confusing. Trail could have been marked better.

Great hikes, views and access to the lake. We didn't get to the beach due to choppy water but so plan on returning. If you plan to hike the dunes, be sure to bring bug repellent as we did see ticks.

What a great park! Tons of trails for all fitness levels. Nice playground for kids. The beaches were very nice, too! We spent most of our time at South Beach, but North was just as great! North was a little slower than South. Dogs are allowed on North Beach. I did wish there were some garbage cans closer to beach entrances as we saw garbage etc.

Beautiful park. Boardwalk has some uneven /broken boards making it slightly difficult to navigate. Beach had a deceased Seagull and a lot of feathers while walking the beach. Soft sandy beach. Not much shade so make sure you bring sunscreen.

Sheer beauty of Lake Michigan, with sand dunes, beautiful wooden walking paths, and we even saw a white tail deer about 20 yards away! Wisconsin is a blessed state to have this lake that is really like being at the ocean!

This is a beautiful state park ~ need state sticker to get in. There is camping and a north and south beach area. Beach is nice in both areas but not much shade so I recommend a shade tent or beach umbrella. Finding a parking spot in the north beach area was quite the challenge ~ spots are limited. South beach had plenty of parking. Doesn't seem too handicap friendly in some areas. Had running water bathroom in both areas. Picnic tables. North Beach is dog friendly whereas South Beach is not. Would recommend going earlier in the day on a weekend. Also has hiking trails ~ which look beautiful. Family friendly. I highly recommend going here. We had a blast at both beaches.

I had a great experience tent camping. I walked some trails and checked out my fellow campers--see their setups. The restrooms are clean, some have flush toilets and showers. I noticed a laundry room and that the park sells ice and other items. It is a lovely and varied park with much to offer both families and single persons.

What a beautiful park! I have limited mobility and use a wheelchair. I really appreciated the wheelchair accessible trails at this park. And the wheelchair accessible cabin is amazing! They thought of everything! The bathroom has a roll in shower with a bath bench. There is also a shower wheelchair available if needed. The bathroom sink is a good height and there is room underneath. Bonus points for the handle to turn the water on being placed at the front of the counter so it is easy to reach. Also, the soap dispenser is at the front of the counter.
The kitchen has a section of counter that is lowered for ease of use from the chair. There is a refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, and coffee maker.
The living space has a lift chair, a couch with pullout bed and a wide chair with pull out bed. The bedroom has two power hospital beds. A lift is available if needed. There is also a cot available if needed and a commode chair. There is a nice "porch" room with lots of windows and a bird feeder right outside. There is electricity with plenty of outlets, air conditioning and heat. Outside there is a nice patio with benches. There is also a grill, campfire ring and picnic table. One of the wheelchair accessible trails is right next to the cabin. And, there is a beach wheelchair as well.

Beautiful park and lovely campground! There is so much nature and wildlife to see here. The beach is gorgeous, as are the hiking trails and cordwalks. Staff are very helpful, as are the the people in the nature center. Bathrooms and sites were very clean. Highly recommend!

As you already know the park is beautiful. Can't go wrong with a nice relaxing boardwalk trail through the sand dunes while listening to the waves of lake Michigan.
As far as why three stars. The reality is the campground is designed very poorly. Specifically electric sites. A large majority of the sites when you back in your camper door is against woods or opens to road with picnic table/fire pit on other side of camper. The sites seem to be designed backwards are are made for pull in but they are back in. Lots of wasted space in the campground due to poor site design. Short site driveway spaces for no reason. The new paved site pads aren't level which is strange because they seem new. Every time I've stayed there are people with multiple tents and a camper on one site with too many people- which I've never seen enforced. I'll also add restrooms closed early this season with no notice on booking.
Beautiful to visit. The campground is disappointing.
Very beautiful! Great place to take pictures and explore.

Beautiful Park and loved the uniqueness of this bridge.
Deb Hanson — Google review
The bridge is easily accessible. You can see the bridge which is right off the road, or park further inside the park and amble back over a foot bridge and step inside the wooden structure.
Sadly, there's a lot of personal graffiti but it partially illustrates the age of the building. And while I don't agree with tagging something old, there were many sweet messages from years past.
We visited during winter while the river was frozen and could walk under. Cross country skiers passed obviously enjoy that route too.

I love this bridge for all the history and memories that have been written and carved. The oldest carving I've found is from 1877, and considering it was built in 1876, I suspect it's the first carving!

A bucolic destination at an old crossroads, currently stuck in construction and sad abandonment. Worth a trip just to touch the old wood and read the historic signs, and imagine the Wisconsin of yesteryear. The nearby park is a romantic and well-maintained contrast, with a storybook bridge floating over a country stream. Fingers crossed that Cedarburg and Ozaukee County can replenish this “last” example of an American treasure into some of its past glory.

Cedar Creek Winery is a renowned, family-owned winery located in a historic woolen mill dating back to 1864. This award-winning establishment offers an impressive variety of wines, from delicate whites to robust reds, including seasonal favorites like Strawberry and Christmas Blush. Situated at the edge of Cedar Creek in Cedarburg, this winery is steeped in history and offers visitors the chance to explore its charming surroundings.
I can't say enough about my experience here - it is one of the best wineries I've visited! The tasting was fabulous and I went home with a case. The ladies were super-friendly and awesome and accommodated our rowdy group with much hospitality. And the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend.

Great experience. My boyfriend surprised me with a private tasting (which was actually us and one other couple) and we got to try 4 different wines and 4 different cheeses. The story was told of the winery by a member of the family who actually worked there. She was really nice and informative. The wines had a different taste than what I’ve tried at wineries in my area but I loved the tasting. We headed on downstairs afterwards and tried a few more wines. The rosé had a very unique flavor with its hint of bourbon. It is one unique winery. We got the impression from the website that it was an actual winery with the vineyard and hills in the back and it was not. It was sold here and is made somewhere else 2 hours away which is a little different. I expected it to be a vineyard as well. But, it did not disappoint. Each floor (3 total) had unique shops you could stop at. I found old candy, huge selection of teas, a store that was filled with amazing 20s items, clothing and fur coats, and there was other art shops, a Christmas store and more. The building itself is very beautiful and has a River and little waterfall behind it where you could sit and eat at the cafe. There are also other buildings on the mini campus that had food, cookies and one was a jewelry store. We spent over an hour and a half there. It was a nice experience. Cute town where all the buildings look like little cottages.

I was a very frequent visitor to this winery after coming across it years ago. I’m from
Chicago but made it a point to drive here monthly and stock up on my favorites. My boyfriend and I continued to do this during the pandemic just not as frequently. It’s been about 4 months since we were here so we took the drive up on Saturday to do a wine tasting and stock up. Unfortunately this visit went VERY different. We are from chicago and we walked in wearing masks and were immediately stared at not only by other patrons but by the staff members as well. We were not greeted upon entering like we have always been but we did notice every other person who walked in was greeted with such kindness. When we checked out the two ladies barely said a word to us besides our total. They didn’t ask if we were members, which we are, so we didn’t get our additional discount for being members. I’m not sure why covid has become so political but it is a shame that it has become a way of how you treat paying customers. I’m very sad to say this experience left me very uncomfortable and upset enough to where I will no longer be visiting after having so many wonderful experiences before.

Let me just say, we picked the most beautiful day to come to Cedarburg. The weather was amazing, and Cedar Creek Winery located right on the creek was incredibly scenic! My husband took me for my birthday to enjoy the wine and cheese pairing tasting. We sampled four wines and were given a pairing plate (think like lunchables but classier) with three cheeses and some chocolates. The wines were delicious and we were very impressed by the prices - quality was amazing for a bottle of wine under $20. Let me just say, I’m cheap and don’t spend more than that on a bottle of wine because I, like Leslie Knope, cannot taste the difference (so brilliant idea to go to a wine tasting? Yes, I get it, I just like wine okay). The cab sav was so smooth and full, and the Monamore cheese they paired it with (all Wisconsin cheeses by the way, which I thought was a great touch!) was unlike anything I’ve ever had before. So good! The white wines were not my MO but I’m more of a dry wine gal - my sweet wine loving husband thought they were great though! I do also have to say, we brought my seven week old daughter along for the ride and they were so accommodating, which I was very impressed by - surely they could have turned us away or made a stink about it, but everyone was so kind.
Four stars only because the building was not very accessible (a lot of Cedarburg has steps up into buildings, but this tasting room was down a flight of 100+ year old stairs, which adds to the charm but would limit who could all enjoy this experience).

The winery was very cute, and the price was great for a wine tasting ($10 for five samples!). A lot of the wines we sampled were very very sweet and a little outside of our taste preferences.

The place looks great in the summer but they do not have any wine tasting menu or make any wine in this location. Their wines are made elsewhere and they are a sister company to the big wollersheim winery near prairie du sac in Wisconsin.
You can of course purchase wine bottles and some cheese and sit outside at the bench and enjoy them. We just bought some wine and walked around the area.

This is genuinely the best place I've ever taken my kids. I think they have more fun here than Disneyland. Every inch of this place is full of hands on fun for the kids. There's a ton of animals, toys, playground and play areas, pony rides, a little train, a hayride, and even a pumpkin farm in the fall. We've been here many times and always have an amazing time. My personal favorite is the kitty barn, but the kids really love the corn silo play area. There's something for everyone here.

Our kindergarten students and parents enjoyed our field trip to Green Meadows Petting farm very much. The self guided tours are perfect. This gives parents the choice of what to see and when to ear. I loved that there was a set time for our group to go on the hay ride. Hopefully the pony rides can have a set group time as well in the future. The pony rides were the most popular and wait times were very long.

The place added so much activity to our day, there is so much for the kids to choose from,be ready for a lot of walking. We had a fabulous time. I could see how busy it is on weekends and was very glad that I could do it during the week.

Had a great time at Green Meadows. The maze was more challenging than it looked, the hayride fun and all the little games were fun too. Great place for young children

Place was hopping with people. It looked like a place that at one time had a lot of heart but now family are just trying to keep it going, but some things are just falling apart or donated. The memorial bench dedicated to the starters of this attraction back in the 70s was a nice touch. My issues with the facility and experience are as follows:
1. The hay ride only went once an hour and there was no regulation, you jump on or you miss your. Hence for a very short ride anyway.
2. Corn pit was nice but not very deep as I've seen in other places. I suppose kids don't care though
3. Toys and some kid areas that looked like stuff was donated or didn't have much use anymore in the condition it was in.
4. The pumpkin patch was not so much a patch but a field that had once been a patch but was now overgrown with foxtail wheat or some such grass. Pumpkins were generally smaller and you had to brave your way through the brush, fun for some not for others. Not to mention at peak busy times no more carts for carrying pumpkins are left. Fyi.
5. At the end of the time we showed our pumpkin stickers but our baby had a teeny tiny pumpkin and staff said it was only for paid admissions but let us have it anyway. In a cute case such as this, why say anything. Had he refused my experience there would have been a 1...
So what was good? Price point, interesting slides made out of far. Equipment, and the black rolling tubes. If you know, you know.
The Windpoint Lighthouse, constructed in 1880, remains operational on a sandy beachfront of Lake Michigan. It is closed for visitors to climb the tower but open to roam around the property with beautiful scenery facing Lake Michigan. The lighthouse has outside restrooms, gardens and a picturesque beach area for warmer months. The well-maintained small parking space is not crowded and offers a relaxing environment with benches to sit and enjoy the view.
A relative took me to this peaceful lighthouse on a very cold (12 degree) day in February, and I enjoyed it very much! Since it was so cold, most of the time we stayed in the car in the large parking lot right next to Lake Michigan. The snow and ice added to the beautiful scenery. From their website, it looks like they allow people to go inside and climb the tower a few days each year. For warmer months, there are outside restrooms, a beach area, and gardens. Very relaxing place!

Yes, please. After stopping to see the two lighthouses in Racine, this was a very pleasant visit though it was with the last light of the day. Still, the Wind Point LIghthouse was worth the visit.
108 feet tall, it is one of the tallest and oldest lighthouses on the Great Lakes. It remains an active navigational aid though ownership of the property is now held by the Village of Wind Point.
Free to visit the property, plenty of parking, a fantastic view and some true history here.

Located on a small, and picturesque ground, the Windpoint Lighthouse is a beautiful spot for those looking to spend some quiet time away from the hustle.
The lighthouse has a small adjacent building, housing the village hall, and the village police department.
The grounds have well maintained gardens, clean chairs, and a small pathway to walk around the lighthouse.
The place is extremely scenic for those looking for a quiet spot for a photoshoot.
The lighthouse is still functional, and is open for public tours only on select dates, although the grounds are open throughout the year.
There's a small parking spot, but visitors can also park alongside the adjacent golf course. There is also a small restroom, which is clean, and hygienic.

Never ceases to amaze in any season or month. Visited again in August. It holds it's beauty still. Very private beach. Waves crashing on shore, with lighthouse glowing in it's historical glory. One can just sit and watch both for hours. Well maintained garden. Don't forget to check the herb garden with it's fragrant winds

My wife and I absolutely loved visiting this lighthouse and the little museum attached to it. We called in advance which turned out to be a great thing as the visit was able to be aligned with the operators perfectly and in a very short manner. Having an private tour was really fun and informative, the gentleman that gave us the tour was very interesting and informed. It was a very windy day, which seems very appropriate for this kind of visit!

Windpoint lighthouse is a cool place in Racine, Wisconsin to check out! The lighthouse was originally opened in 1880, and is now considered a historic place. There are places to read or have a picnic on the grass nearby the lighthouse, there are a few flower gardens, and there’s a great view of Lake Michigan. The only downside is that it can be a bit busy, depending on when you go (we came on a weekend and it was fairly crowded). Note: if you’re looking to swim in the lake, this is not the place to do it. There are beaches nearby if you’re interested in doing both!

A picturesque spot right on the Lakefront. The Lighthouse is also Police Headquarters. Shady sitting benches, Butterfly Garden and a little beach. Definitely worth stopping and seeing.

Beautiful! Very relaxing too, had a nice hour or so here. Nice beach and views, the sound of the lake, you name it. There's some fun factoids on the signs so take a little stroll around to see it all and there's a rinse station for feet and dog water bowl.

Stunning! Couldn't go inside or climb the lighthouse (first Sun each month in summer), but there is ample history on the placards around the property. Nice section to walk along Lake Michigan as well.

Swung by for a walk and for the kids to dip their toes in the water. Spent about an hour. Very nice, peaceful. Well-kept grounds including a couple of small gardens. Plenty of parking (probably more than need be). Clean single stall restrooms. A nice place to be for a bit.

We had the best time today at the Windpoint Lighthouse. It was so cool to learn about the history of this structure. The land surrounding the lighthouse is also well manicured and beautiful. There are no bad angles for this piece of history. We enjoyed a tour led by the lighthouse keeper, Joseph. We also met his lovely wife, Mary Ann. This is a must see part of Racine. Whether you are a history buff or simply looking for a beautiful view, there’s something here for everyone. Also be sure to stop by the gift shop right near the shore. There are so many cute items to purchase. Cash and card are taken. I really enjoyed the photography prints for purchase in the shop. Overall we loved our visit and I would recommend to anyone. Friendly atmosphere with great people and views!

What a beautiful, well maintained lighthouse and park area. Nice historical landmark with a nice drive on the way. It's a shame there's so much plastic on the beach from the lake.
The Racine Zoo is a 28-acre facility located on Lake Michigan. Despite some closed exhibits and structures in need of repair, the zoo offers a range of opportunities to observe animals up close, with visitors even able to enter certain enclosures. The creek walk and water deer enclosure provide unique experiences akin to mini safaris. The zoo also contributes to conservation efforts and species protection.
Came to the zoo as a photobooth vendor for a wedding. Tents and scene was beautiful! Staff were all super helpful and polite. Excellent experience!
Great job to the bride and groom for planning a superb party and big thanks to the zoo for hosting!
Hopefully I'll be able to make it back for another event or to see some animals.

Very small zoo. Not many animals out in early March. But also no ability to view many in their indoor homes. The animals we did have access to were beautiful!
Gift shop attendant was a little rude & unfriendly.

Such a wonderful time! We had ages 22-65. The chili was hot and delicious. We brought items for a charcuterie board and ended up taking a lot of it home. The drinks were plentiful and included hot chocolate. Roasting smores was fun. I would bring extra marshmallows next time as our group powered through them. It was a very cold and windy day but the 2 space heaters kept us plenty warm. It was a delightful set up and we played the catch phrase game provided which was quite entertaining. The animal encounter was done in the gift shop which was a bit of a surprise but the zoo handler was delightful, very informative, and we loved meeting Harley. The Igloo hosts were very professional and on call for any questions or assistance. Will do again next year.

Winter time zoo visit! It was not at all crowded as can be expected I. The winter months. Many animals were not I. Their exhibits due to the cold. There was a reduced winter rate which made it worth it. $9 for a nice walk around the zoo. Got to see tiger and lions, kangaroos, zebra. Good way to kill an hour or two.

My favorite out besides the milwaukee county. I love the fact that you can walk in the enclosure with the wallabies, Kangaroo and Emus. It's a nice place to go as an afternoon trip. They also have a wonderful playground for the kids when they get tried of walking around.

My daughter's 💍 wedding venue was at the Racine Zoo. I joked around and said that the Zoo was the best place for our relatives to get together. The weather was absolutely perfect. The ceremony was a hidden treasure and had a stage, comfy seating, decorations and a walkway that could accommodate my electric wheelchair. The staff was so hands on and anticipated needs. The reception area was in a shelter-like building which could accommodate bad weather. We certainly did not need that. The food was from a local pizza place and the pizzas were made fresh in their ovens right there. What a great idea! I still need to find out where the desert came from as it was excellent. There were snacks, pasta dishes and salads. The DJ was 😎 awesome! We had so much fun! The pastor was from Rise Church in Racine. It was a beautiful ceremony and The fellowship of the church could be felt throughout the whole wedding. What a blessed day. I highly recommend having a wedding at the Racine Zoo!

What a hidden gem! Even with some exhibits closed or "aged out"/some structures needing some TLC, this little zoo has so much to offer! They offer so many opportunities to get closer looks at the animals and you can even enter some enclosures (the small birds and the barnyard). I have never experienced anything like the creek walk or the water deer enclosure and it felt like a mini safari - it was SO cool! They also contribute to conservation and species protection. There were so many more animals than we expected and it's a beautiful location, right on the lake. Would definitely recommend and urge you to support the keepers, the grounds and the animals. We had so much fun!

Very glad we took a trip to Racine Zoo today! We spent about 3 hours and walked about 3 miles during the visit. Decently priced and the kids learned about a few animals. There were MANY exhibits closed which is why I'm giving 4 stars.

A number of the exhibits were closed, which I thought was odd as it is after Memorial Day. I would have thought everything would be open. They do have a pretty good selection of animals considering it is a smaller zoo. Some of the exhibits are only viewable from a very small window and it can be hard to view. They do have a small train you could take if walking is hard. We did eat at the grill and the food was ok. The staff we did interact with were all very friendly.

It was amazing. My husband and I went on our wedding anniversary. It was perfect easy to get around and see everything. The little snack shop was really good. Plenty of bathrooms throughout the zoo. The staff was very friendly. Lots of animals to see. Not too expensive either. I recommend everyone go there at least once. We will be going back for sure.

Jack o lantern of lights was amazing. My 9 yr old did notice that they weren't actually real pumpkins (maybe some of them were?), so that dulled the experience a tad for her. Overall, it was phenomenal to me! Price was just right

We had a fantastic time in the winter snow globe! The food was excellent and there was plenty for eight people. We played games and listened to Christmas music with the blue tooth speaker provided. We could even hear the lions in the zoo roaring at night! It was awesome and I highly recommend this experience.

I hadn't been there since I was a kid well over 40 years ago. I was very nice to return. It is very well upkept, the animals all look healthy and their environment is clean and maintained.
They have started charging and I was more than fine with paying $22 for 2 adults. It is not a large Zoo, but I really enjoyed it and photographing the animals. I will go again for sure.

This is a nice little zoo! Handicap accessible in all aspects. Lots of fun things to do! You can feed giraffes and small parakeets. If you want to feed the giraffes, you need to pay at the window when you buy admission into the zoo. Giraffe feeding is at 11 am! There are 2 concession stands to get snacks and drinks. Great view of Lake Michigan at the back of the zoo!

Nice zoo with a number of the Big 5 animals like a rhino, lions, a zebra, a bear, etc. Even if you visit late afternoon, when the animals hide more, it's still worth a visit. Lots of green area, and there's a train tram around the park for $3 per person. The animals also have the option to have quiet in buildings if there are too many visitors.
Nice location on the lake, but tends to be a bit winder and cooler.
There are several interactive exhibits for kids, like a goat and sheep area where kids can brush the animals and a parakeet cage that you can enter and feed them. Visitors can also walk around kangaroo and emu area (no cages). There's also a large playground with slides and a climbing structure.
Bringing your own snacks is ok!

This is a smaller zoo, but it is well worth the time to visit.
I saw nearly as many animals up close here as I have at some larger zoos.
Plus, this zoo is designed for children with a multitude of playground areas and many benches to rest while family members ride the Zoo Choo train.
Come have some fun.
FREE tour. (We did Frank Lloyd Wright tour) The best part about this is that you can see inside buildings and get a glimpse into life in the 50s and such. It's a living relic and I'm so glad they've done a great job with keeping it all intact. There are stairs, a 30 minute video, and a bathroom break - they keep you well informed. 2 hours total and goes by very fast. You cannot take pictures inside.

Great tour guide for this architectural tour. Very interesting history of both SC Johnson and Frank Lloyd Wright. No photography allowed inside the buildings.

AMAZING!!! A must see FLW site. The office building the tower, the furniture, just unbelievable. Great family history of the company as well as a newer building almost as visionary with more history, information and artifacts. Don’t forget to visit other nearby FLW sites including wingspread the Johnson home.

If you are interested in architecture and specialty in Frank Lloyd Wright don't miss this place. You can take a free tour (need to book in advance) that lasts 90 minutes to visit the headquarters and the tower. The tour also includes a visit to the Fortaleza, a recently build building designed by Foster & partners. The tour guide wasn't great but the buildings are amazing in their own right.

I love this building. This has been on my bucket list for years. Tour was great, guide was very knowledgeable. A lot to see. I really wish we could have taken photos inside the administration building and research tower since they are no longer occupied and there is no proprietary information in view. The Lily Pad gift shop should also have books related to the architecture of the buildings and perhaps gifts to purchase related to the architectural design. I’m very glad that the company does provide access to the public for free tours though, it is definitely something to see!

I really cannot recommend this place and tour enough. At first glance you would just think it's a random company. Firstly it's interesting to learn about frank Loyd right discussions with SC johnson and city developers. It's fun to see the 3 building they show you. Plus there are gift shops, art gallery style hallways, and plenty to learn about SC johnson through the decades. You don't have to like SC johnson the company or have an interest in consumer staples companies like P&G to enjoy the tour and architecture. Definitely book a tour and come visit!
David Hong — Google review
We took a guided tour here. We booked ahead but the guide said it would be possible to walk up. No photos inside, just outside or through the windows. It was 1.5 hours and we went to three buildings. You’ll learn both about the company and Frank Lloyd Wright.
Hans Johnson — Google review
Important item to know: No internal photography allowed on any of the tours. Several signs stating it so I don’t think the policy is going to change anytime soon.
Tip: Do try to sit in the chairs in the gathering room for the tour! You can sit in original FLW office chairs which you can’t do on the tour.
The tour is pretty great! Totally recommend it! Amazing that the tower and so many parts of the main building are wrapped in glass tubes.

It’s unfortunate you aren’t allowed to photograph inside, but perhaps it’s one of those situations where the memories far exceed the photos. It’s a must visit for any Frank Lloyd Wright fan. The S.C. Johnson Wax Headquarters is like stepping into another place and time like no other!
Michigan's Adventure is a local amusement park that offers a wooden roller coaster, seasonal water park, and various other rides. However, the size of the park and the number of rides available may be disappointing for some visitors. The food stands were not set up during a weekend visit, and many of the rides are old. As an amusement park related to Cedar Point, it was expected to have more and newer rides.
Make sure you have ordered tickets ahead of time. We had a great time!! Lots for all to do :) We went with season passes this year... it pays for parking($25 without the pass). The water park closes earlier than the rest of the park.

Fun place to spend the day for all ages. Great range of rides from big thrills to nice slow motion and lots for the little ones too. Full size water park included. You really need more than one day to experience everything. The lines are not as long as I expected. The longest we had to wait for a ride was 30 minutes most were less. Food was the biggest disappointment of course overpriced but half shops were closed the ones that were open didn't have all of the items on their menu and the service was the worst I have seen.

Nice amusement park. We came for three days and found enough to do each day, which was nice. Definitely not as big as some of the other parks. If you plan on going more than once, a Gold pass is worth it, because you also get free parking. If you plan on going to other Cedar Fair parks, the All Parks pass add on is definitely worth it!!

My family had a good time. Was not super impressed with the size of the park or the amount of rides down and food stands not set up during our visit on a weekend. Considering this is an amusement park that is related with Cedar Point, I assumed it would have a lot more rides and nicer rides as well. Most rides are very old and the entire park isn't near as big as Cedar Point. Disappointed. Went to the water park and had fun in the kid area, but again a lot was not working. Also too many people inside the park during covid. The wave pool was slammed full of people everywhere.

This place was wall to wall people! They ran out of chairs, life vests, and tubes, at the water park. The design of this place was very confusing and there are no signs to point you in the right direction to get where your going. Especially trying to navigate to the exit of the park. Nothing is marked! The website told us the hours were 12-6, the lady at the gate said 12-7 but in fact the park didn’t close until 8. It was very confusing, so was the pricing. Online it said admission was $39.99 but in fact it was $50 for anyone 3 and up. I didn’t see any capacity limits anywhere posted here, and it was obvious they weren’t enforcing them anyway. We went on a Sunday, maybe going on a weekday would be less crowded. I hope the park gets their act together, train these employees to have the correct pricing and hours information and change the website to match what’s posted at the park so people can plan their visit correctly. The pictures I posted from inside the park were at 6 pm at the water park (closing) and 8 pm in camp snoopy on the way out of the park.

I took my son (10), nephew (7), niece (12), and brother to Michigan Adventure “Trick and Treats.” I think for the age group and what rides were running 12-6 is enough time to do whatever you want. My disappointment was in the restaurants or eateries. Coasters was good and was running great. Midway Munchies ice cream machine was not turned on so there was no ice cream there. Ended up getting nachos and the nacho cheese was “old” looking cheese. That disappointed me. Wildcat Grill was good. I was disappointed that the “boo-ffet” was not included with the premium dining plan. With the purchase it should include really any or all dining options.

Perfect variety of rides for all ages. Lots of games too--I was surprised how easy it was to win prizes. We went July 1st and it was both great weather AND it wasn't crowded. Super good food, especially the pizza! The park is thorough with safety, and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommend!!!

We had a lot of fun here today. Riding rides and walking around. This park does not accept cash so be sure to have your cards. Food prices are high and mainly pizza, ice cream, hamburger and hotdogs. You cannot bring in a cooler you have to leave it in the car. We got there early and lines were not that long but as the day went on the wait could be an hour or more. The rides seemed to be well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful. One last thing at the time of this review parking is $25 for regular size vehicles.

Had a great time with my family of 5. Kids are 15, 8, 7. This is a great place for the younger kids. Wish it was open later so we could ride some rides and see the lights. Also wish the Waterpark was open later. I guess that's why people buy 2 day passes and season passes. We will be looking into that for the next time. Overall very clean, family friendly park. Ate the buffet it was delicious. Great souvenir prices and options. Haven't been here in many years and the addition of camp snoopy is great!!

Went on a Wednesday in early June with a 3 and 9 year old and spent 6 hours in the amusement park busy the whole time! We were concerned because the water park was closed the 2 days prior to our visit because of weather. Though it was open for our visit, we didn't have time to hit it.
When the 3 year old is a bit older we will likely buy season passes- as soon as you go twice, it makes the season tickets worth the price. Go a whole day just for the water park and another just for the coasters.
There was plenty to do for us all for several hours. Early June felt like it wasn't as busy as it could've been and we didn't need to use fast passes. Long walk but the toddler really enjoyed her rented stroller and snoopy camp. The 9 year old loved trying all of the roller coasters for the first time.
The staff were ALL wonderful.

I work here, I recommend coming on a weekday, sometime near the middle of the week such as a Wednesday, as practically every ride will be a walk on with no line, including shivering timbers.
Shivering Timbers is the best run ride as it's got 2 trains, while mad mouse is the slowest ran ride, usually having the longest line in the whole park. For Zach's zoomer, come near the middle of the day (1-3PM) for no line.
This park is REALLY overdue for a new roller coaster soon, they've got like 100 acres of unused land sitting in the back that could be used!

Michigan’s Adventure is a nicely kept park with various rides with a variety of thrills. You do walk through security and the staff there was very pleasant. We purchased our tickets online for a good deal on weekdays and it was very easy to enter the park by scanning from my mobile device. We brought our wagon with us for our toddler and swim gear. Our son was able to ride most rides with an accompanied parent and was able to ride some rides on his own. The staff were young adults and they adhered to height safety protocols. We spent majority of our time at the water park in the little tyke area which was good fun for our son. They have life vests available for young swimmers but we brought our own. There was a confusion at the icee vendors when I wanted to purchase a regular cup (not souvenir); I was passed between 2 locations due to staffing/miscommunication with no resolution so I chose something else. Overall we had a wonderful time!

This park is a cute little park but there’s not much to do. There aren’t many options for younger kids nor thrill seekers. I guess if you’re right in the middle it might be great for you. We’d rather make a little longer drive to Cedar Point where they have at least 4x the amount of rides for little kids and much more for bigger ones who enjoy rollercoasters.
Melanie Roberts — Google review
Great place for kids to ride their first rollercoasters. It is a good amount of ride for a family outing but not as many thrills for older teens or adults. That said, everything they do have is great. My 6 year old was tall enough for all rides but one which is better than most amusement parks that leave out the younger kids.
We went during the week to avoid longer lines.
The only thing that would make it better is cheaper food prices and conveyer belts that bring the large tubes to the top of the water slides.

Pretty good time! Buy the fast pass! Buy your parking ticket online! Veteran discount is awesome! Few slides still closed most of the day. Obviously still short staffed. No one cleaning around the water park trash everywhere. Several drink stations also not open.
Good selection of stores. Even better now that they added a Starbucks! The only issue is parking in the north lots. They are always packed! If people went to the south lot and walked... there would be a lot less congested and easier to get around. I still like going there!

The best part? Loved the shops! They had a lot of my favorites: Franchescas, Vans, Loft, Ann Taylor, Fossil, The North Face, Lucky & Kate Spade just to name a few. I really liked that inside the mini food court, they have a little food stand that sells Mexican food and drinks like chocolate de abuelita, horchata and agua de jamaica limonada. They also had churros and churros ice cream sandwiches. We also liked the Pocket Puppy that had puppies that you could play with and pet. They let them run around the store, you just have to ask to pick them up. The worst part? The lay out of the outlet is nuts! We had to drive twice to get from one part to another and tons of walking so keep that in mind. We also went on a Monday and it was not busy!

The Mall is great. People were great. The women’s restroom in the food court was beyond disgusting and filthy. It literally turned my stomach. From water in stalls to filth on toilet seats, filthy sinks not cleaned in who knows how long. A women's restroom used by children too should be kept clean and sanitary. It’s not a good look for a mall that touts “premium’.

It’s an amazing place we went on a Sunday and it was still a hole bunch of people here. Some deals are really good but some aren’t. And to be honest the way people drive around their is crazy. You would think it was a bunch of teen drivers driving. Anyway yea and the food centers would get more business if they didn’t charge a arm and a leg for the food. They should make coupons at the real stores to hand out so at least we can get a deal on the food if we decide to stop and get something to eat. But very nice place if you want to do something physical (walking)

The food court is sub par, don’t count on it too much. Bathrooms are clean and neat.

Love this place as it is not far from Chicago. There are too many brand stores there to shop for a whole day. Price and tax are so much cheaper as the outlet in Wisconsin. There are also many restaurants there for shoppers to stop by to rest, eat, and enjoy their shopping days. Make sure you come early when the outlet just opens as it is hard to find the parking slot during the day due to crowded shoppers. North face Outlet there got many good stuffs to buy and sometimes they get discount 50% for past season items. If you are around Wisconsin and Chicago land, give it a try to shop. You will not regret.

A lot of stores have closed since covid, so if there is a store you once shopped at, call to see I they are still there.
I was disappointed with the Pleasant Prairie police department for parking in the crosswalk to run in something at Northface. It leads to the only ramp where we parked in the disabled parking spot. Any one else wouldn't have done this, or gotten a fat ticket, but my daughter (a wheelchair user) got an "I'm sorry" when we brought it to the officers attention. 😢

Stores were well stocked. Only problem we had in a few of the stores was only one person working the register. There were plenty of other workers in the stores, but they didn't want to stop folding clothes to help out checking people out.
Retail store featuring the famous jelly beans in a range of creative flavors & other sweet treats.
Came to Kenosha on a whim and discovered it was home to my favorite candy and a FREE tour to boot! With free jelly bellies at the end?! An amazing find. Went home with way too much candy. Great deals on "flops" buy two, get three free.

Is an interesting free tour. It literally takes 30 min and it is very basic. You don't actually get to see them making the beans but you see videos of the history and work. It is a fun activity for kids and families. They have most Harry Potter candy!!

Fun. So many flavoured beans. Come out take the tour. It's an hour out of your day + you get a paper hat + a jelly belly snack bag + you ride on a train. Hello, a train (more like a cart, but you get the idea. Look at pics). Enjoy. Its SUPER FUN.
AJ Hernandez — Google review
Although factory tour was not available we had so much fun in the retail store. There is a lot to discover - all kinds of flavors and other jelly bean items! Staff is super friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit for young and older people

We came 9/4/2017 free tours hours 9am -4pm
The tour wait was 30 mins & the tour itself took about 15 mins. The candy store has a lot of options & the prices are affordable and we got a 20% discount that we found in a Wisconsin magazine that was found at the store. Overall was fun experience.
MBravo — Google review
Good thing the tour is free. You ride a train around the warehouse past a bunch of props and several stops to watch old videos showing production techniques and company history. They give you a small bag of jelly beans at the end. They sell their rejects at a reduced but still pricey rate. Their chocolate candies were unimpressive and the taffy was hard as a rock.
Terri Frazor — Google review
You can't miss a chance to try every flavor at the sample counter! However, their train tour was not worth the drive; it desperately needs to be updated. I really appreciated the friendliness of the employees.
Miranda Kissling — Google review
My husband loves jelly beans so this was a fun stop on our way home to Chicago. They have free samples of everything and if you're lucky, Sam I Am will be working the counter and he'll make fun Jelly Bean cocktails for you! He made a mimosa and a pumpkin pie for me. They had 1/2 pound bags of jelly beans for $1, buy one get one free! What a deal!! The factory tour was 15 minutes of fun if you are aware that it's not the factory where they make the jelly beans--its just a warehouse. You get a free bag of jelly beans after!

We did this stop as my wife really wanted to go here. We had been at my brothers place and this stop was on the route home. We had lots of fun. You have a guy that helped eith the sample bar and he was awesome a funny too. He made up some combos for us to try and he was spot on.
Thanks for the good time.

The USS SILVERSIDES Submarine Museum is an expansive facility that showcases naval history, particularly from World War II on both the Pacific and European fronts. The museum offers tours of a preserved WWII sub and interesting exhibits, including nurse recruitment posters and other contributions from women. In addition to informative videos about the sub, the museum boasts a wide selection of souvenirs in its shop.
A good museum with a great overnight experience. Interesting exhibits from World War II on both the Pacific and European fronts. I enjoyed seeing the nurse recruitment posters and other contributions from women. The videos about the sub provided a good description of what we would see below. Good selection of souvenirs in the shop. I highly recommend visiting with scout troops. Our girl scouts loved it.
Samantha DeMont — Google review
What a great museum! I was a nuclear fast attack submariner in the 90s, and it was amazing to walk through a real WWII diesel boat.
The museum itself is worth the price of admission. It does a great job of walking you through the events that lead to the attack on Dec 7 at Pearl Harbor. It then guides you through the challenges these heroes had to face.
There is a display on a POW's experience. This was really moving. Powerful.
A huge bonus was the diving station from a 688 class sub. This was authentic and identical to what we had on both boats I served on. It was special being able to sit in that chair. It wasn't a station that I qualified on, but it definitely brought me back to being 20 and underway in the Pacific outside Pearl.
And that leads us to the Silversides. Wow. It reminded me of visiting the Colusseum in Rome. You can feel the fear, the stress, the triumphs and the terror of the hunt leaking out of the bulkheads. If those walls could talk.
I have SO MUCH respect for the men who went to war in those cramped, smelly, tiny boats with unreliable torpedoes against such a dangerous opponent.
It makes it so real, walking by the wardroom, seeing the control room, the bunk room, engine rooms and especially the torpedo rooms. Every valve matters. Every item there is there to keep the ocean from killing the men and letting them go bring the fight to the Japanese.
Take your time here. Expect to spend 2-3+ hours here. Take time to read the displays. Especially watch the video walk through in the theater, and absolutely take your time in the boat. Listen to what these men did, how they lived and reflect on the sacrifices they made.
Read about the casualty rates on boats. Give a prayer for those on eternal patrol, and reflect on the freedoms that these men brought to the world.

Far exceeded my expectations. Good historical background of WWII in the main building, with some amazing facts I did not know about. Also some good info on the local contributions to the war effort. The submarine itself was incredible to see, with the cramped quarters, watertight sections, the engines, motors, batteries, radio systems. It's still a huge boat, almost unimaginable that this thing could dive on demand and stay under for 15 hours before surfacing. Even the toilets were quite a feat of engineering. A great illustration of the incredible industrial might the USA developed in such a short time to ensure victory. Made me proud to see this knowing that my Father was a radar man in the Pacific theater on a ship.
Michael Smith — Google review
I stayed overnight on the sub with my son for a cub scout outing and I had a blast. The staff was very helpful and informative and kindly accommodated the overnight stay with late and early hours in the museum and gift shop. The sun itself was fascinating to see and really made you appreciate the sacrifice made by all who served on them.

Great place to taking young kids to learn the history of WW II and military history!
We only take a quick look of what is displayed on the outside of the museum due to the shortage of time we have!
We will be sure to come back for a full tour because it is very interesting place!
Steven Cheng — Google review
Go watch the video in the museum first before going out to the Silversides as it will tell you a lot more then what is visually in the sub. The submarine was definitely the highlight! The cutter was as to be expected (they really hype the Silversides instead of the McLane). Getting through the sub can be quite tight in some places (obvs), so if you can't bend/stretch your legs over knee height, I would stick to the museum. We spent about 3 hours on site (there are quite a few things to look/watch in the museum building).

Interesting museum. We were in the area in 2016 and decided to see this place. Not advertised too well. Nevertheless, a monument to the men who sacrificed their lives.

Wonderful to have 2 historic ships available for self guided tours. Silversides is well maintained and well signed. Great History. Cutter is very interesting but could use a bit more info. A great value for a few dollars.

This is a great place to visit. If you want to know anything about our history, check the submarine exhibit. You get to tour the submarine and see how the men lived and fought for our country. This is one of the best museums I've seen. If I could give more stars, I would.

The walk through sub and cutter were really neat. Other exhibits I've been to have everything behind glass or roped off, but these let you get up close and personal. My kids loved trying out the small, crowded bunks, climbing ladders, and sitting on the toilets! I loved all the interesting facts posted throughout. We learned a lot, took a lot of great pictures, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

This was one of my families' favorite museums as of yet! It was really organized. It had a LOT of history information and was such a cool experience. We enjoyed the museum and then the video tour. It made it feel like we had a personal tour guide when we walked through, even though our tour was self guided. I recommend that everyone should check out this place.

What an incredible experience and to be able to share in some amazing history! Absolutely loved this place and it's a great family friendly activity.
As with almost all my reviews, it's the staff who make or break the customer service experience. Here I had the pleasure of interacting with some of the kindest, friendly and informative people I'd ever had the good fortune to meet.
If you are fortunate enough to find yourself in Michigan, this is a place you should definitely visit! Loved it and I highly recommend it!

Wonderful, informative museum. The experience on the sub is eye opening.
Friendly staff, nice gift shop, plenty of parking, at least in March.
Glad we decided to visit.

A museum that let's you experience the cramped conditions of a WW2 submarine that is virtually unchanged since its service over 80 years ago, the Silversides museum is a place to learn about the history of the most successful U.S. submarine still in existence. The boat itself is well preserved with the ability to tour the boat stem to stern from the forward torpedo room to the aft torpedo room. The museum itself has lots of information about the history of the Silversides and the great lake's part in WW2. When I visited they also had a piece of the World Trade Center and an exhibit about 9/11.

Lot of stuff you can learn from in the museum and the submarine was amazing to walk through and see how they lived in there.
Pere Marquette Park is a public beach located on the shores of Lake Michigan. The beach boasts of vast white sands and provides an unobstructed view of a lighthouse. This place serves as a second home for many people all year round, especially during summer when families with kids come to enjoy the warm sunshine. The area is generally clean, but visitors are encouraged to maintain cleanliness by disposing of trash in designated cans provided throughout the park.
Excellent beach no matter what the season! Beautiful sand with lots of beach space to enjoy. Restrooms and outdoor shower, as well as a handicapped walkway that leads near the water. There is a restaurant on the beach as well as an ice cream/snack shack. You will need to pay for parking during the summer months but it’s not very expensive. Kiteboarders are often there. Great sunsets as well. Beautiful place for a wedding too!

VERY NICE beach area with tons of room on a soft sandy beach! Well taken care of! Paid $7.00 for an all day park pass. Well worth it. Gradual decline in the water and clear sand below. It was like going to Florida beaches only cooler and friendlier to everyone! I could not recommend this more, we had a relaxing blast here! There are bathrooms in the area we went too. We WILL come back, it was that nice!

No matter the time of day, or season of year, this is by far my home away from home. My kids and I live at this beach in the warmer months. It is normally pretty clean. Sometimes jerks leave trash but there are trash cans all over so you can be a not jerk!! Portable toilets available and there is also a permanent bathroom available during the summer. A restaurant is right on the beach with a walk up window and sit down seating too. They offer food, drinks, and ice cream. There are also several locations near the beach that sell ice cream and snacks too. You do have to pay for parking but if you live in the county of Muskegon you get a free parking pass.

Great beach experience, lots of parking available, clean sand and accessible to the water. The Deck is a popular spot for dining and night life, and the Beach Cove is a convenient place to change clothes, shower off sandy feet and get refreshments. A perfect beach spot in Michigan.

A really nice beach. It was a Saturday when we were there so it was very crowded and parking was limited but if you were patient you could get a spot. A great concrete walkway that goes out to the breakwater light. A very popular boating harbor, also. A good place to bring the family for a day in the sun.

This place never disappoints with its amazing sunsets and numerous ice cream spots. There are also some good places to grab some grub. It was a better place when parking was free and there were less buildings near the beach. That being said, The Deck is quite a good date spot given it's a great sunset night.

Great place to access Lake Michigan from the Muskegon area. Parking is prepaid at $10/day or $20 for a season pass. The beach was very clean. The bathrooms were relatively clean. Easy parking all the way down the park. We are up here for the week and have visited every day. There is a nice play structure and beach volleyball courts on the premises.

Due to the Canadian wildfires fires the day at the beach was particularly clouded, but nevertheless in was an enjoyable visit. It did eventually clear up once the wind picked up, but I had a chance to take plenty of pictures and videos. Overall great beach! Don't bring your dogs though. Also someone anchored their boat on the beach. Not cool!

Restaurant/bar on the beach as well as a concessions area and a public bathroom. The beach also has a playground, plenty of parking, plenty of space, and many benches to rest along the way. One of my favorite beaches ever. My happy place!

This beach is very pleasant and clean. The beach is wide and contains a lot of sand unlike some other beaches in the area. There’s also a playground and snack shack by the beach. If you stay late enough, you can even see a nice sunset over the water. I’d recommend going here for a good beach experience on Lake Michigan.

This was a great place for a family day at the beach! It was clean, had restrooms, an outdoor shower, and the lighthouses were really neat! There is also a BBQ restaurant that smelled amazing. We didn't eat there, as we brought a lunch, but it looked like a neat place, and it got quite busy later in the day. I would recommend taking folding chairs and some type of shade. We went on a Thursday morning and it didn't get busy until mid afternoon.
Built in 1839, this historic boardwalk features 2 red-painted lighthouses to guide ships.
The Grand Haven Pier:
Come and take a walk through paradise, morning or night, the catwalk, the sun and water is an amazing delight! Spectacular place to visit, especially in the winter with smaller crowds, and the ice build up on the pier in the lighthouses.

Beautiful walk on the pier. The height of the buff does dip down about halfway through so be mindful of waves splashing over the edge! Amazing experience and about a 1.5 mile walk from downtown Grand Haven.

The Grand Haven Pier is an absolute delight on a beautiful summer day. The sun's warm embrace lit up the picturesque surroundings, making the shimmering waters of Lake Michigan even more inviting. Strolling along the pier was a treat, with the gentle breeze and panoramic views creating a sense of serenity. The sound of seagulls and waves added to the soothing ambiance, making it the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty. I highly recommend visiting this enchanting location for a memorable summer experience.

We are very thankful for the continued maintenance on the Grand Haven Pier and lighthouses. Please don't walk out in storms or on the ice. Many people have died here and there are memorials posted for the some of them who drowned in the early 2000s, but many others are not listed.

Cold winter day but the pier was a beauty to see. It was frozen over I tried to walk the whole length but started skidding recommend having traction on your boots. The ice sculpturing was beautiful with the fire engine red lighthouse in the background. Look forward to visiting during other seasons to watch the transformation
Anna Marie Dufresne — Google review
A great place to view in rough weather, but also not an ideal place to visit under such conditions.
Seriously: DO NOT VISIT DURING STORMS!!
The location is beautiful to visit when weather is calm or if there is light rain. Diving off the pier can also be fun so long as you are aware of the rocks. Rough waters are also fine so long as the weather is relatively calm. High, violent waves during blustery conditions can be a death sentence, though.
Be aware, take precautions, be safe.

If you're anywhere near Grand Haven this is a must see. It clearly is an icon. bring you camera. Choose your parking wisely, there are ample lots. That said it is a beautiful area to walk around. Getting out to the lighthouse was straight forward. The walk area was clean and safe. People of all ages were venturing out on the pier.
Sandy beach area on 48 acres with swimming, sunbathing, scenic views, a fishing pier & a lighthouse.
This is a larger more frequented park for the area. Lots of parking, dogs can be walked on the beach ( check posted signs for certain hours). Beautifully lit walkway to the lighthouse at the end. There is also an area to park and get out to take pics from the other side of the inlet. It's less crowded and has a different perspective for pictures. We like to come here because we can still see our dogs in the car when we come to get pics of sunset. Definitely a spot to come hang out for some fun time.

One of the most iconic piers and lighthouses on the great lakes. Although there are many beaches up and down the coast that can claim better landscapes and facilities, with its proximity to the great Michigan beach town of Grand Haven, there are few places that can offer so much all within walking distance

Grand Haven State Park will forever and always be my go-to beach; I grew up taking my grandpa’s boat out on the lake and swimming to/from the beach. It’s always a beautiful time, I especially love watching the sunset over the pier. It’s also generally kept pretty clean. Main thing to look out for is extra bold seagulls, because they can and will steal your food!

Went here Tuesday, 12 Sept. 2023 Just Breath taking. A beautiful site to experience. Love the area. New from NC, totally different from the south. I ❤️ MI. The people here are very nice and friendly. 1st time, I went to see light houses, and they were awesome! Though the water was rough on the right side, looking at the lighthouses, the other side was calm. Yes, I got soaked, with a couple from MO. Didn't know the water came up that high on windy days. I know next time not to go all the way to the red light house. I guess Mother Nature blessed me as a new resident of MI. Thank-you!😆

Just spent a great 3 days at the park. Went from a very hot day to start, air conditioning, yes. Second day ended with a bad storm, had to convince dogs and wife that the trailer was not moving 😳 Friday was beautiful weather and got to enjoy a full day of relaxing. Toured the park, some spaces are larger than others, so made notes. The dogs from the farm loves the walking around but as you can see, sleep is important. Each site has electricity. You can fill your fresh water before entering and you can take care of your tanks when you leave. Park guest and staff were very kind and the trip in general was very nice. Yes there are kids making noise and dogs barking, just relax and enjoy your stay. You can walk all the way down the board walk. Some restaurants, ice cream places and the Coast Guard station. Close enough to Sagatuck for a day visit. It is basically a parking lot surrounded by sand. So can promise you sand in your RV 😀

Took my son to check out the kite festival. I was amazed at the things people can do with kites. The view is beautiful and there are lots of places to park. The beach can be kind of packed due to there being a campground so close to the water BUT if you have a Rec pass parking is free. Can be packed in parking lot but it was sooooooooo worth it! Watched the sun go down and listened to live music. Was a great time, even by myself.
The Holland State Park - Macatawa Campground is a popular spot for visitors to West Michigan. The campground has paved bike trails with views of the sunset and offers shopping opportunities for souvenirs. A highlight of the area is the iconic Big Red lighthouse, which provides a stunning view of Lake Michigan and the sand dunes. While the campground may be tight quarters and primarily geared towards RVs, it does offer amenities such as bathrooms and showers in the center of the grounds.
The beach and campground make this the most popular park in the state! Google says this about the park: “Nearly two million people flock to the park every year, making it one of the most visited state parks in Michigan. The public recreation area, which spans 142 acres, has an array of activities and amenities for visitors. (Mar 6, 2023)” Don’t give up on your summer plans though. There are many more state parks up and down the Lake Michigan shoreline. Warren Dunes (to the south) and Grand Haven (north). The State of Michigan spends a lot on upkeep of its parks so, no matter which one you stay at, you’re likely going to enjoy your time.

Plenty of parking and easy access down to the Lake from here.
Lots of ice along the waterfront, so weren’t able to get too close, but it’s beautiful seeing the Lake in an icy clutch.
Facilities are closed in the winter so do be prepared, and the pier is closed due to ice, but a beautiful spot.

Nice park with a fantastic location, and one of the two bath houses is really nice. The west bath house could definitely use an update, and some of the sites are a bit unlevel, so pay attention when booking for a large RV. We had an asphalt pad and still need all of our leveling wedges to get it right. Still worth visiting this park despite the few shortcomings.

Great trail on the shorter side. Can be steep at the beginning and end but other than that, it's a nice hike with a lovely view of lake Michigan, the red lighthouse and the sand dunes.
The campground itself is pretty tight quarters. Not many trees, so I wouldn't count on using hammocks.
It seems like primarily an rv park.
It does have bathrooms and showers in the center of the campground.

Location, location, location! For reference, my husband & I stayed 4 nights in July 2023 in our 40 ft motorhome. The park is in a premium location and walking/biking distance to the beach, restaurants & shopping. We rented bikes from Oak Grove Campground for 2 days and loved riding around the beautiful town. The big red lighthouse is a short walk from the park and a great place to watch the sunset. The sites are decently spaced apart and level. If you’re lucky enough, they have some full hookup sites. We were in corner spot #159 (50 amp hookup only). Things to know: cell service was good, there are a lot of tent campers and families with small kids, the park is strict on their noise policy and does night patrols. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend this campground.

Ok, let me get this out of the way. The check-in process was a nightmare. You weren’t allowed to check in before 3pm and we unfortunately arrived at 2 so we were made to wait. We decided to wander for an hour since we couldn’t wait in the parking lot. Returned at 3 and the line to get in was unbelievable. It took over half an hour.
Anyway, the campground was great. Bathrooms and shower rooms were fantastic. Very clean and taken care of. The sites were a bit close together but actually it was surprisingly quiet. Once we saw how packed it was we thought it was going to be a mess, but we had a very nice stay. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Great campground with a short drive to the beach, which is beautiful!
I did want to mention one thing that affected our "camping party"; we had read you could check in early if your campsite was vacant.
**This is not true anymore** at this campground in Holland Michigan anyway.
*Check in is at 3. No exceptions - even if your site is free.

This is a state park in Lake Michigan. They have 2 piers you can walk out on when the water is acting up. It was closed the day I went. The wind was blowing and the waves were coming in nice. The park was nice though we really only saw the beach and pier area. They have a cool lighthouse and a plaque explaining the history of the lighthouse. The park seemed well kept and clean and the scenery was awesome. There was a playground area for the kids. If you like being outside, around the water and beach, this was a beautiful place to visit. I would recommend going and checking it out if you are in the area. It would be amazing in the summer for summer fun too.

We saw people surfing 🏄♀️ 🌊 and it was 40°F and windy. Wow. The restrooms are still closed. (They will open on summer). There is a playground on sand.

Great location- the lake is across the road from the campground. Close to Holland which is unique with windmills, etc. Lake Michigan was a 4 min. drive. Campground does not have full hookups, which would definitely be a plus.

Nice State Park campground. We stayed in the wooded half, not the beach. There were nice shade trees over half the campground and the bathroom and showers in that half was very nice! They were holding a Halloween event with campsite decorating contest, coffee and donuts, and trick or treating for the kids, also. There is a LOT of road noise audible in the campground, so it's not the quietest option.

We stopped long enough to get pictures of Big Red. Unfortunately Google had taken us in the wrong way so we weren't able to see the front view of the lighthouse. Beautiful area, though.

Sites were pretty wooded, and shaded. Beach sites were close but not crowded and had easy beach access. The beach, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Water was warm, it was all sand, and super shallow. Even like 25 feet away from shore and it was maybe 4 feet deep. All time favorite Michigan beach.
Nelis' Dutch Village is a themed amusement park celebrating the Netherlands with a wooden shoe factory, cheese-making and petting zoo. The village features intricate Dutch architecture from the 1800s, canals and tulip gardens. There are also Klompen dancers and music from the Amsterdam Street Organ in the village's shops. The Holiday Inn Express is minutes away for great amenities like a Fitness Center, pool and sports court.
Great experience. Just opened for the season (April 24), and things will definitely run smoother through through season.
The presentations are what really give the full adventure. Wood shoe making, cheese making, butter churning, school house, and of course Dutch dancing. Try every flavor of cheese and every flavor of fudge.
Ice cream shop and a pub with good (slightly overpriced, as expected) food. Indoor and outdoor seating for both.
There are also a few rides and a couple different playgrounds, the kids will definitely be entertained. Bathrooms (either porta-potty or indoors) leave a little to be desired, but aren't the worst ever.

It’s a must visit place accordingly to me if you are visiting Holland MI. Kids will love this place. My daughter simply loves this place.
Pros:
* Decent entry fees(They provided free pass for the next visit too as we entered the village 3 hours before the closing time)
* Unlimited rides
* kids friendly. You can say it’s a paradise for kids.
* So many activities to do.
* Dutch style buildings and staff with Dutch costumes give you pure Dutch feel.

Dutch Village is a step back in time. You can be weighed to see if you are a witch. You can buy a whole cheese wheel. You can ride a vintage Ferris Wheel. You can learn to Dutch dance. You can walk a goat. You can go inside a chicken coop with the birds.
Dutch village is amazing for everyone in your group. The young, the old, the in between - everyone finds something they love.
On Special weekends you may find a Queens Party, a Pirate Festival, a Renaissance weekend… you never know what you might see.

We visited 2 years ago and def see a huge improvement in all the buildings and overall park. There’s more fun things for the kids to do!
We loved the petting farm specially the chickens🫶🏻.
You have to try the freshly made Wafers next to the fudge store.
We appreciate all the costumes, the dancing show and all the hard work from each and every person that works here.
Coming to this place has become a tradition now!

Not been here o a long time.
It is was a nice to day.
Why not go enjoy the day in Holland Michigan.
Its changed slot. And that's a good thing. I still want to go to the tulip garden. Never been there.
Next I will. Go early for sure!

Fun but definitely tourist-y destination in Holland exploring the area's Dutch roots and ancestry. Lots of fun activities, exhibits, dances, and animals for little ones to play with and enjoy. Knowledgeable and friendly staff who love showing off their exhibits. Very walkable and a great place to spend an afternoon.

We had a wonderful visit at Dutch village. Our children are 8,6, and 2 and they really enjoyed themselves. They liked the rides, and I liked taking pictures of flowers! I appreciated that the food wasn’t wildly overpriced. Overall, a nice visit.

Fun experience! Only place we could find with parking for Tulip Time. Tried to go to Windmill island gardens twice this same day, but the lot was full both times. We enjoyed the tulips and decorations. There were free cheese samples out at the cheese store. There are several rides that adults can ride, but it looked like they were mostly for kids. The petting zoo was fun. Animal food cones were a $1. We enjoyed the Dutch dancing. Staff were friendly. Would recommend.

I took my family here, it was the 1st time visiting and it was wonderful. All the stuff there is to do and learn is great, but I think the best part is the workers who truly seem to enjoy their jobs and were very friendly, very educational, and took the time to answer any of our questions.

This place is perfect for a fun, educational visit, and it's great for all ages! Price is reasonable, and you get to learn about wooden shoes, how to make cheese, watch a traditional dance, etc. There's a fun place area for the younger kids, a petting zoo, carousel, ferris wheel. Definitely recommend!

This place is very rich in history. This is a really cool place for kids to go and see the history of Dutch settling in Holand MI. It has a couple of carousel playgrounds, animals trying on of the wooden shoes and how they are made. They have lots of exhibits on how thing were made, period correct clothing and much more. I would recommend taking your younger kids here.

Nice place to enjoy with family. Especially for children’s . So many activities ,rides. If you are planning a trip is better to buy tickets online. (Online $16) otherwise $18per head.
Also you can enjoy the Dutch dance performance as well as lessons.

Our family and us hung out there and spent the day. We have kids so this was perfect place for them to do and learn. Not badly priced too. Each kid got a waffle and hot chocolate and we made memories. Over all I would say it was a decent value for the money especially now they've expanded. Way improved.

A group of 23 of us took a day trip and came to the Dutch Village in Holland, Michigan. Many of the tulips are gone,, But we still had shopping, coffee shops, rides on the ferris wheel and other rides, and we all watched the last dance performance by a group of dancers depicting Dutch dancing. Some of our group even participated in one of the dances! That was fun to watch. A great day at the Dutch Village! Thank you, Dutch Village for your friendliness and kindness! Enjoyable day!!

My family attended Dutch village on a Saturday. It wasn't too busy. We bought our tickets online which came to $15 a person, 3 and under are free, if you buy them there its $17 a person. My daughter was able to ride all the rides at 40in tall. It Looked like you had to be around 32-34in tall to be able to ride. The animals were our favorite part. They were so lovable and wanted all the attention. You could interact with them, which was nice. I recommend going. We were there for around 4 hours.

This is a really cute, quaint, local "theme park" located within Holland. It is set up to look like a mini-Netherlands, with lots of lessons and activities available to entertain a variety of audiences, especially children. Having been to Amsterdam before, there were a couple of moments when I found myself being reminded of that part of the world as we explored this park. The people that work here are very warm and friendly, and they work hard to maintain the park's overall theme.
This park is a great place to visit if you are on a field trip, or if you are visiting with family that has (younger) kiddos!

I didn’t have much expectation before going. We all ended up enjoying couple hours there. It’s a small park. They set up many ‘shows’ - dancing , clogs making, staff explaining in individual building. I leant much more the Dutch culture here than my previous trips in the actual Holland. There are many old machines, displays which are well kept. All staff are friendly and are passionate sharing their knowledge with us. Although the rides are more for young kids , my 10-year old said the park is the highlight of our visit in this town. Definitely recommend this place to any family’s travellers.

Beautiful little slice of Holland. Good food, especially cheeses. Great entertainment for the kids. The young staff there really put their heart into their roles. Thoroughly enjoyed visiting. Don’t miss the Klompendans dancers!

Dutch village is very nice place to get familiar with old life style of Dutch people. A lot to see and specials are the dance and kids play stations 🚉. Staff are very cooperative, when we were at this village it suddenly started raining and becoming dark. They started to close all outlets but we couldn’t move our since we had less than six month kid in the rain, so they arranged jackets and umbrellas ☔️ for us to move to safe place into restaurant. It needs atleast a day to go through entire village so keep time n make entry.

While we were in Holland, Michigan, we discovered Nelis’ Dutch Village. We explored the store and the gardens, both of which are fantastic places. Being a photographer, I take photos everywhere I go, and this trip was no exception. I always start taking photos on the road to our destination, capturing the journey as well as the destination. Once we arrived, I continued to photograph everything. Holland is a very charming town with wonderful shops, and Nelis’ Dutch Village is certainly a highlight.

We purchased a dozen tickets for our family and visited the village for about four hours. It's the perfect place to visit if you have young kids under the age of 10.
After the entry fee, your kids can try the rides as much as they like. They have areas where you can sample 24 flavors of cheeses or over a dozen flavors of fudge. The cheeses and fudge are great hits and you can tell that they are made fresh.
There is also a "petting zoo" where you can hold chickens and pet some bunnies. I think this place is a must-stop if you are visiting the area. 5/5

Very interesting place to visit for tulips festival. We purchased tickets online right in front of the entrance. Tickets are good for the whole day so can leave and come back. Lots of activities to do! We went last weekend of April and all tulips were blooming already
Located in downtown Holland, Windmill Island Gardens features tulip gardens from all over the world, a 250-year-old windmill, a carousel, and Dutch-costumed guides. The gardens are open to the public and cost $12 per person. There is also a gift shop and food available.
What a lovely stop! I loved the conservatory and also learning so much about the windmill and its rich history. Though I was looking forward to buying some of the local flour, I understand how COVID's impact made that impossible. Just being able to climb up inside it was amazing! All of the staff we spoke to were friendly and eager to share their knowledge. It was still chilly for our visit (so not everything was in bloom) but there was plenty to see.

This was more enjoyable than I had originally thought. The flowers were beautiful. Can't even imagine what it would look like when the tulips are in bloom. The gift ship was small and quaint and the carousel was being enjoyed by kids. The outdoor organ was fun. I even saw a few teens dancing and having fun being silly. That was really nice. The windmill was beautiful and going inside to hear the history from one of the employees was worth it.

**Stop! Are you looking for the famous Tulip Garden? This is it.**
Our first time coming here. Not how I envision it but good. People glorify the images but in reality it’s a tame environment. I was expecting a magnificent display of tulips all over. In reality, they are planted in sections and in limited quantities.
The windmill is huge! The area is surround by a small stream which must be used for watering the tulips. The bathrooms are located in the main building which is nice. No outhouses or porta potty. No need for extra smells to ruin the smell of tulips. They do have ONE food stand which serves a decent amount of different foods.
I strongly suggest you come before the festival, because when it arrives, there is basically no parking spot available.
Come and enjoy the tulips.
Highly recommended

This is a beautiful place to come and stroll, they have a marsh with all kinds of wildlife. The windmill is very fascinating to tour, the historic street organ was beautiful, just to see this historic gem and to see the inside and how it works was amazing and a wonderful learning experience. They have gift shops and a carousel that gives free rides every hour. I enjoyed my walk through this Netherlandish replica. I loved the women walking around in classic Dutch clothing and shoes. I recommend everyone take their family at least one time. You don’t have to go during the tulip festival I believe it’s something you can do all year round.

Stopped here for a quick visit on an RV trip. Beautiful grounds, lovely windmill, and enthusiastic staff who are eager to engage and teach about Dutch culture and the grinding process of the windmill. The gardens were well manicured and gorgeous. Kids enjoyed the carousel which runs every 30 min at no additional fee. The only downside was for as much as it cost to get in there wasn’t much to do except see the windmill, organ, and carousel. Was still worth the visit just thought it was a bit overpriced.

This place was beautiful. Workers were dressed up in authentic Dutch clothing and were very friendly and helpful, answering all the questions that I had. There are so many things to see and do. It would be best to come early May when all the tulip fields are in bloom. Everything was so well taken care of and just breathtaking. I will be bringing the rest of my family back to check this area out again.

Great place to just walk around. We came to see the Tulips. We climbed up inside the windmill. It is an interesting museum and garden. It's worth the price, because of the amount of time and work it must take to take care of this place.

I was really excited to come here. We live 3 hours away. I looked up the best time to see the tulips and I found tulip festival is the best time. So we planned and drove 3 hours here. Then, we sat in traffic forever, only to finally get to the entrance just to see the parking lot is closed, and then we finally found parking downtown. Walk all the way up just to be told there is an hour wait to get tickets. So we wait to get tickets. Come in to overcrowded Park, and the flowers were mostly half dead. And if there were okay ones, there was a mob of people everywhere. I exepted fields of flowers, but in reality, it was only 4. I feel like the festival should have started sooner before all the flowers died. If the flowers looked good, it would have been all worth it.

Lovely place to visit, especially if you enjoy history, windmills and/or tulips. I went when they were having an autumn craft event, which made it pretty lively. The Dutch village itself is very cool even when there's not an event going on. The windmill is worth checking out to see how grains used to be processed (and all of the instruments of grain torture...). The windmill was only open Thurs-Sat when I visited so definitely double-check before going if you want to see the inside and get a bird's eye view of the gardens.

I had a good time here. I do wish there were bigger fields of tulips like in the Netherlands! I thought the workers in the windmill were adorable and very informative. I went on a beautiful day and did not regret my time spent. It cost $12 to get in and they had a food truck to purchase food and a gift shop. I probably missed a few things to do but I’m sure those were fun as well.

Not what the photos will promised you. So here's some angles to show you the actual state of this location. It's few patches of Tulips with more weeds than the flowers and Tulip plants which grew barely a feet heigh. We went at the peak of the season (May 4th Saturday) and the first to enter the park, so none of the plants were run down by the crowd yet. But still it was worse than you think. Can you take an impressive photo with a Windmill at the back if you place the camera just at the right angle? Yes. Would you be impressed by the location, at all? No. So if you happen to drive through Holland, MI and need to stop for some reason, do visit this place. But please don't waste your time to drive hours to see a Tulip Garden. You won't. I was sad about the miles of people queuing up to enter the garden when we were leaving. Cherry on top was the run down Macatawa River with dead weed and barely any water. This is definitely the "Poor Man's version of Tulip Festival in Netherlands". And not worth a drive. Not recommended.

It was a beautiful place to be for a day trip. We went on May 10 when the tulips were in full bloom and enjoyed a lot. There were lots of tulips of different colors. It was a bit crowded though but that was okay. There are a few parking lots with enough space and that shouldn’t be a problem at all. Parking is free. There is a 12 dollar admission fee for one person and no discount for students. I would say 12 dollars was worth it for us because we haven’t seen that many tulips ever. There are two restaurants with few food options and ice cream. The prices are reasonable. There is a big shop to buy garments, arts and show pieces of different kinds. The wooden boots were unique because I haven’t seen them anywhere before. I would recommend the place to visit in the right time.

When we arrived around 11 a.m., the main entrance was closed because the parking lot was full, so we had to find parking elsewhere. By the time we found parking and walked about 15 minutes, the entrance was open again. It was a long walk pushing a stroller. Seems like we missed the peak time for the flowers, but they were still very nice. Restrooms are available right after you pay and enter. The entrance cost was $12/adult. There are limited food options. Three lunches (hamburgers, Italian sausage, fries, and drinks) were $42. A small deli style sandwich was $8. Arriving a little earlier or later may get you into the main parking lot.

Magic at the Mill Christmas event. Thought it was worth the $10 fee. The light show set to music was pretty cool to resemble dancing tulips. Good event for all ages that can walk 1/4 mile. Tent with hot chocolate and snacks available. Must buy tickets online in advance, no tickets at location.

Visited a week before the tulip time festival. Perfect time to avoid larger crowds and most of the flowers were already in full bloom. Not the biggest tulip farm in the area but worth it for a short stop. You can check out the view from the top of the windmill, browse in the cute shops and of course walk through rows of colorful tulips. Great place for pics especially around tulip time.

The Saugatuck Dune Rides is a popular tourist attraction in Saugatuck, operating since the 1950s. Its rugged off-road trails offer visitors great views of lakeshore dunes, trees and grasses. The drivers are knowledgeable and provide interesting historical facts about the area during their tours. The ride lasts around 45 minutes but seems to go by quickly due to its fun nature.
This experience is pretty awesome. Nate was our tour guide/driver and he was super funny and energetic which we loved. It seems to go by so fast but it was 45 minutes. I wish I was out there longer, it went by fast but so much fun. Nice views, and good time. I would recommend checking this adventure out. Thanks Nate for making it awesome. This is an absolute must do activity for anyone visiting the area! We brought our two daughters with us, ages 5 and 2, and they both had an excellent time. Our tour guide did a great job of keeping everyone entertained as well as being very informative about the local area. We had a great ride with this outfit. Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about the history and subsequent creation of these sand dunes. Bernie was our supee guide that gave us a drive of our lives. He starts off and shows his reverse driving abilities without being on the seat . His fun jokes rival those of the Disneyland Jungle cruise and could easily start his own show. He intertwined that with speed cruising through the sands that only a Nascar driver could handle . I also need to mention his knowledge and history of the area and the affect of civilization in the 1900's created this dunes.
I would recommend you go here and enjoy the ride. My only complaint really is that it was longer . Hated to go.
Thanks for a great time.

We had an absolute blast on the dune ride with our driver Paul! Not only did he navigate the dunes expertly, but his knowledge of the area was impressive, and he answered all our questions with enthusiasm.
