What a cute collection of Alice Moseley's art work! I had never heard of her until a friend and I dropped in here. Very cute stuff. Downstairs is a Mardi Gras museum with costumes and some local history. Upstairs is her artwork, mainly of this area. I can not recommend coming here highly enough. Employees are friendly and passionate. It was sheer joy stopping in here.

My wife and I visited and had a wonderful time.
We enjoyed learning and talking with Renne ,she was awesome , friendly and informative .
The art was increasable and we really felt welcomed.

It's on the 2nd Floor. It was nice. Had been wanting to go since I moved to Waveland 5 years ago, wife and I, along with a granddaughter, finally made it!!! The artist, Alice Mosley, was a prolific and well known ( locally as well as nationally ) painter. It's especially amazing since she passed away at 94 in 2004, but didn't start painting until the age of 55!!!
They also have on the 1st/main floor, a cute little Mardi Gras costume display along with several collectable model trains on display - after all, it IS all on display in the old Train Station in Bay St. Louis, Ms.,!!

I wandered in here after visiting the 100 Men Hall across the tracks from here and I’m so glad I did. The Mardi Gras costumes on display are breath taking. Nice Blues exhibit also. Definitely worth the stop.

Bay Saint Louis local history. Not much black history. Upstairs they do have a nice little art gallery.

Never knew an art gallery could be so fun. I was so impressed not only with the art, but the artist aswell. She was such an influence to her students from the 50's-70's, but a huge inspiration to anyone can start to paint. She seemed to be such a bright witted person and you can seem some of her humor in her pictures. Free to enter and very reasonable pricing for reprints and magnets. The guide was very knowledgable and kind. Don't forget to feed the ducks.

Small but very nice art museum. Great collection off Alice Mosley's work and her story. The lady at the front desk of the museum was very welcoming and helpful.
It is upstairs in the building, and a little difficult to find. Don't go towards the end of the day - we came down the elevator to find the welcome center door locked (an hour before closing) and we had to find an exit through the staff door. The welcome center staff and museum staff were different organizations from what we could tell.

Very nice folk art and glassware collection. There is a lady working there that was so helpful & informative. She really made the tour worthwhile. The artwork is simple but relatable. I would recommend it. Free to tour. Doesn't take too long since the museum is kinda small (around an hour to tour).
Casino hotel with modern rooms, a lazy river & pool, plus an Arnold Palmer-designed golf course.
Make sure to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ when booking any place. This web site will compare countless hotel sites and typically will have rooms a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later! This resort is one of the most well known in this area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you won't regret it.
Very fun experience. Excellent staff and comfortable dealers. I was brand-new to table games and the dealers were so well trained, professional, and courteous. I had a blast and met some great people as well. Highly recommend. This place is top notch.

The property is gorgeous with many amenities. The slots are great & payouts good. The staff is very attentive & very kind. The pool & Lazy River is an added bonus. The rooms are very clean. The food is 10 out of ten. I will ALWAYS stay here when visiting.

This off-the-beaten-path Casino Resort is worth the extra few miles travel from the interstate. Lots of locals give the eclectic atmosphere a vibrant and welcoming feel. The gaming is as favorable to the player as I've encountered anywhere and more often than not I leave with some jingle.

We stayed a couple nights and enjoyed it. If you have children this is a really good place for families. Some casinos along the coast don't allow minors on property at all and they're missing out. Great pool area with music and lazy river to lounge around and pool bar. We had the buffet with crab legs and was pricey but really good. The room was very nice and clean as most nice casinos hotels are. As far as gambling they have a nice selection of old and new slots. All in all a great getaway.

First time going here & won't going back. Room wasn't cleaned good when we arrived. You can tell only the bed was done & trash can was empty. You can tell room wasn't vacuumed. Trash was still on floor next to trash can in room. Kleenex was on bathroom floor under counter. Socks were dirty just from walking on floor. Hair was all over in bathroom, in sink, floor, tub & on toilet. A dirty washcloth was hanging over shower rod. Decided to deal with it since I didn't trust anyone in my room while I was out. I complained when I checked out, didn't hear back from anyone. Service was good at Epic restaurant. Food was ok. When I checked out, was the only one in line. 2 girls were working & both looking down. Not positive, seemed like they were on their phones. Said sorry & that they didn't see me. Don't know how they didn't see me. The most disappointment was how dirty the room was. The best part was the service the workers gave in the Epic restaurant.

The casino floor had strong smoke odor. The food was good, although shrimp wasn't fresh the night our party went. For $50 buffet, one would expect fresh food. Staff is very attentive and friendly.

Nice little casino with a variety of table games, low table limits to make it more affordable.
Dealers were friendly. Place also had a good variety of slot machines. We would go back for sure!

Felt compelled to write my first review ever. This hotel should be so much better than it is. The location on the bay watching the sunset and being near The charming town of Bay St Louis was great.
But..the hotel needs some help. Staff didn't seem to care about anything. The TV in our room was 20 years old. I had to request a refrigerator (a first for my 36 years on earth). Not only no microwave in the room, none in the whole Building for the paying customers to use. That was the final straw to leaving this review.
We also overheard many older guests complaining about my kids in the pool as if we had no right to be there. Also the kids were not aloud in the pool after 6. So my family essentially had to retire to our room by 6. Pretty ridiculous.
TVs are cheaper than they have ever been. Buy new TVs. Buy some bleeping microwaves. Buy refrigerators.Change your pool policies to accommodate families. Consider new tactics with front desk staff. Consider ending the smoking policy. Place smells like 1982.
This establishment fella like they are at a make or break point of existing moving forward. Either full scale policy changes and physical updates to the building or fold.
I've stayed at Red Roof Inns that seem state of the art compared to this place.

It’s pretty nice hotel for a night or two. Our room unfortunately didn’t have a mini fridge or a microwave and we tried to call the receptionist and they put us on hold and never called us back. The pool area is beautiful and the outside is peaceful at night. This hotel doesn’t have complimentary breakfast and depending on what floor you are on, you can hear the casino music from below. The hotel and casino staff were very friendly and polite. The rooms were clean and put together nicely.

It’s a nice hotel. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. The food is good. The casino is mostly older machines. Perhaps it was the holiday weekend but they didn’t pay much. It was pretty tight.

I booked this room because of the pool and lazy river for me and my 15 & 18 year old children. At check-in, you have to walk into the stinky, smoky casino area to get to the front desk. Front desk clerk was very friendly. When we arrived in our room, we had a very unattractive view of the roof (see picture). The floor between the beds was soaking wet. Front desk does not answer calls. The room was grimy. Soap dispenser was filthy. TV didn't work. We saw a bug on the floor. There were lots of sketchy characters from the time we walked in to our next door neighbor. We left early. I had to walk down to the front desk to tell them everything that was wrong. They offered for us to switch rooms, I opted to leave. They were very nice and did issue a full refund. We never even made it to the pool or lazy river. We were all just aggravated, uncomfortable and ready to go home.

I was having a great night then I went to Hollywood. First off it's impossible to get a free drink plus I put 20 free play in a machine but only used 5. They kept the 15. The music was so loud that I couldn't hear my machine or myself think. I recommend Island view casino. It's a lot more fun n lots of free drinks. I'm never going back to Hollywood!!!

Scheduling and check in was great. Housekeeping brought us extra coffee and pillows. They were very accommodating. Where the trip fell short was the front desk staff. At checkout, we called for a porter and cart. The lady at the front desk was rude.. Being elderly and disabled, we had to load our bags on the wheelchairs. Upon reaching the lobby, there were two empty luggage carts. Also, they need to rent electric, mobility scooters like the rest of the casinos.
Another big downer was the buffet. It costs $49.95 per person. However, the Cafe had great food.

Me,my wife Tia and my best friend Sean ( who is sick and dying) enjoyed our stay there the rooms were ok, a little disappointed no fridge or microwave, i am not a gambler but my wife is and she's a winner, she won money there but lost her id on the trip so they gave her 90 days to return and pick it up. She put the paper in her book she told me, but she had 6 strokes in 2022 we are heading back to the casino this weekend cause i am holding her id to pick up her winnings. I would have to the employees there are helpful friendly and the most amazing customer service. I recommend this place, you will have the time of your life!!

A hell hole. I don't care how many renovations they attempt to do; it is a disgusting pit of pain and resentment for staying. Do not bring your children here. They dislike kids, make you feel uncomfortable, and suck any joy you could have had. Stay somewhere else for your sake, especially if you have children and care about your dignity. Can't wait to never see this place again... and I have been coming here for over a decade. Never again.

Nice Casino great staff with free drinks never had to wait to order and always free. L I like the building lots of games to play. This place is out in the middle of nowhere it seems when driving to it you might think you took the wrong road but you will come to the end of the road and you'll be at the tight place. Night time is a little better since you can see the lights.
I didn't get rich but I went home with money in my pocket.

We'll appointed and maintained. Very nice grounds which includes a golf course. Ample parking, also for RVs, trailers etc. Very nice Buffett at $16 weekdays from 11am. Different higher price for evening. New players receive $10 by downloading the APP, for slot play, but that value doubles for food & retail, use it at the buffet!

I highly recommend the poker room to any fans of the sport. It's a very friendly, relaxed game, you'll have a good time while you hunt for pocket rockets and dodge bad beats. There are other casinos you could go to with better promotions and this probably isn't the room if you're looking to win high stakes. But if you just want to have a good time while playing the game you love, don't sleep on this poker room. Steve, who runs the room, is friendly and accommodating. He worked hard to try and get a no-limit game going for me. Kristen and Bridgett are a blast as dealers! They'll do their best to keep your spirits up even if you're getting cold decked. And another dealer, Matt, has an incredibly depth of poker knowledge. Along with the cocktail waitresses making routine rounds to the poker room, they have free hotdogs and popcorn in the room for poker players. I'll make another trip down for sure! Would love to see them host a tournament.
The hotel itself is somewhat standard, but they are doing renovations that sound nice. The buffet is pricey, but you'll enjoy your meal and won't leave hungry. The steakhouse is also good. Celebrity Grill is basically cafeteria food at above cafeteria prices.
Front desk staff for the hotel could more a little more friendly. And putting refrigerators in the rooms would be a nice touch.

A tad small for a casino. When busy on holiday weekends there is no place to play. Buffet is quite tasty but smaller than some. Staff is friendly and comps pretty generous. There have been several events that I received comps for and all were good enough to pay for. Overall, fun!

We just stayed on Aug. 3. Got there a room keys were not working. Door was open when we arrived to go inside our room.
I walked back downstairs asked why our key cards did not work. They did not have an explanation. I asked to be moved from there...and for my Grand children asked if we could get a Suite to make a special memory. The manager said yes. So we moved on up to 9th Floor a Suite. We enjoyed it and the jacuzzi bath tub.
Thank you for the great time and memory Aug. 3, 2023.

Not far from downtown Bay St. Louis, which was adorable with many delicious restaurants and great scenery!
The lazy river was awesome and inviting!
The “deluxe” rooms were basic, bring an ice chest so you can have a “refrigerator” for your drinks.
Celebrity Grill has basic foods, but the burgers were surprisingly delicious.
The casino was okay, some of the machines need better maintenance.

I loved my stay there. The food was A1 and the gaming was great. I won some then lost a lot, then when I was about to call it quits I hit the jackpot! Left there in a great mood, having just about broke even altogether with gambling, food, and shopping combined. Definitely will be returning as soon as I can.

Came there for expensive snow crab legs at Epic Buffet. The price is $49.99/person. No more LOBSTER! ☹️The thing is, their crabs are always, always very salty! I drank more than I ate! Maybe that's how they wanted it. Lol.

Broken-outdated- and smelled bad!
This place smelled horrible like a urinal. The staff was less than helpful when explaining how to use Penn play we actually left not spending my husband's free money because all the machines were broken and would not connect to the phone. When we asked for assistance, he had made a comment about going to the slipper and the team member said I would go to I don't blame you.

this place sucks terribly! i put a 1000 dollars in a dragon cash machine and not a single bouns nor any orbs. everyone else around me is hitting but my machine. the service is terrible takes forever to get a drink and not to mention the people in there taking machines with absolutely no money in them and employees do nothing about it! i would rather take my business to the silver slipper! have gone to hollywood 2 years straight and not a single handpay or anything. i wouldnt recommend this casino too a blind and deaf person!

SIGNIFICANT False advertising on the website, no kids arcade, no handicap access for pool and more.... Not a single person here except for the super awesome guy that is mopping the floors incessantly is worth much. Terrible service, from start to finish...go elsewhere unless you are looking to gamble.

Casino needs expanding bad….not enough games for the amount of people. Too many penny slots. Not enough video poker. One bar to get drinks which is the only video poker bar & it’s also attached to the band stage….so you have a bunch of regulars taking up the seats and not playing (to dance and listen to the band). Which is cool, but bad business! Separate the two so people can play. Good Lord, a lot more $$$ could be made and played with better oversight. Place was clean and didn’t smell like other reviews I read. It was a casino, not a church. Of course there’s going to be smoke! End of day, won’t be back but hope they figure out a few simple things to make customer’s experience better.

If you are looking for great meal than Epic Buffet is where you need to go . Everytime we come to town we come to the Hollywood Casino in Bay Saint Louis, Ms. and always eat at the Epic Buffet. Than we always ask for Ms Jessica to be our server because Jessica is just simply amazing !!! She is the sweetest , kindest person. She is just super fast and I do mean SUPER FAST at making sure that your glass is always filled up and getting used plates out of your way . She is always asking if there is anything that she can get you.She is the BEST ! So go to Epic Buffet and ask for Jessica. You will not be dissapointed .

Like some of the other reviews said already no refrigerator, no microwave, my friend and I stayed 4 days. They did give us change of towels but they would not clean room till we left. I thought that odd. I was on 11th floor the ice machine did not work..so went to 10th floor did not work. Finally,9th floor worked. When we called to ask for towels..toilet paper.. they were very quick to serve. The phone stand was broken phone kept falling off the hook. They are remodeling. So hopefully next year when we return it will be better. Oh yes little coffee shop needs more help. It took forever to get a hot dog.

To echo the sentiments of other guests, this is the worst hotel/casino I have ever been to. We reserved a king room and we're given a double. The room was dirty and shabby. The rest of the casino and hotel were not much better. We made reservations for dinner at Bogart's. Don't waste your money! The chef cannot season his food and is offended when you require salt and pepper to even eat it. It also seemed that when it came time to talk to somebody in charge that no management was ever available to speak to in person.
Cheryl Hadley — Google review
I would’ve chosen 0 stars If it were an option. They are crooks and have proven it many times. Do not go here! Worst Casino on the coast with absolutely no upside. You will regret going it. No covered parking, it stinks, The food isn’t good and most of the machines are broken or outdated. Over the past 12 months, the payout was 1.5%. The more you play here, the worse it gets. I will drive an extra 30 minutes if I want to gamble before ever stepping foot into this dump again.

Worse casino ever!! Never was charge a puppy fee up until now. I was unaware of the fee, and the lady still charge me after stating that I would not be charge since I had no clue that they even charge a dog fee! He ALWAYS comes with us and never heard such of a thing. NEVER was a charge a dig fee!!! They stated he bark so they charge us a fee and he was only there a few hours because we drove two hours to take him back home. Worse customer service ever!!! Spoke with the manager and nothing was done about the employer lien to us. Don’t tell me one thing and do another!!!
My family and I wanted to get out of the house and get some walking in, this place was perfect! We got to also window shop without having to worry about the 3 kids touching things. So much fun, we found a few things we wanted and got some much needed walking in! The layout of this makes it perfect to walk, also.

The Gulfport Premium Outlets is not quite as large as some but is every bit as nice or nicer than any other we have visited. Almost all of the major brands are represented. Good sales in Bath & Body Works, Under Armor, Nike, etc.

Recently, I have fallen in love with Coach handbags and accessories! So when I traveled to Biloxi and Gulfport recently, I decided to visit the outlet mall and the Coach store. The sales reps were very friendly and I found a cute crossbody to wear on the remainder of my trip. This store is much bigger than my store in Leeds, which meant more choices. Overall, I had a great experience here and plan to shop here again on my next trip to this area.

It's decent for what it is. I really was looking for some shoes because my feet were hurting. Went to a few locations! It was nice.
Gulf Islands Waterpark is a magnificent seasonal aquatic park boasting an island theme with numerous slides, rides and pools. It also offers cafes and cabanas for rent. The park is highly popular among families as it provides endless entertainment to children, making them wish to visit every day. One can opt for a summer pass which proves worth every penny spent, thus justifying the drive from Mobile.
What a fun and family friendly water park. This place is fun and has a good selection of things for the family to do. It is not the biggest water park but the lines are short and the staff here are nice and friendly. The season passes are the way to go if you even think you will come more than the one day.
Important notes: Make sure when you visit you wear water shoes. The pavement gets really hot during the day and you don't want to be walking on that all day. Also bring cash if you plan on using the lockers, much faster and easy to get you locker deposit back.
Chris Rouquette — Google review
My kids love to go to Gulf Islands Waterpark. For those children under 42 inches tall there are two different splash pad areas. One area is more of a wading pool than a splash pad. There are two small slides in the wading pool area and four bigger slides. My three year old goes down all of these by himself with no trouble. Then for those over 42 inches tall there is five slides that are much faster. In addition to all of this you have the lazy river that also has a wave pool included in one part of the river. They do have food and drinks but, you can also bring food and drink and leave it in your vehicle. You just have to go in and out to eat/drink. There are cabanas for rent as well as chairs under large umbrellas. All in all a great place to spend the day.
Rex Hartfield — Google review
This is a nice spot. There were about 6 water slides, a wave pool, and a lazy river. Lines weren't very long. For younger kids, there are also two areas. They offer a combo package that includes a meal, which is a great idea. The food was actually good. The fries were seasoned well, and my grilled chicken sandwich was tasty. My kids said the burgers and tenders were also very good. Free fountain drinks with admission. Various sizes of shaded cabanas were available for rent, a little pricey but worth it. The only downside was the restrooms. It's not very big and not very clean. And there is only one inside the park. Just buy your tickets online a couple of days ahead. It's saves you about $20 per ticket.
Sonji Moffett — Google review
This is a great place to take kids in the summer. It's no Disney world or XL Waterpark but for a low key place for family to beat the heat.
Tickets are sold based on height not age* factor that in cost. Advance tickets will save you money if u plan far enough ahead. Tickets cost 45$ at the gate for ppl over 3 1/2 ft tall
You can pretty much float around the entire park or walk. There's only about 5 rides besides the huge slide in the back majority of those are split into 2 sections but it's fun enough.
I don't really think the locker rentals are necessary tbh. You should prob already come with swimwear on... Locker rentals cost 8$ + a 7$ refundable portion
Theres food courts but I always avoid them in places like these as the cost is usually exorbitant.
Theres no need to bring extra stuff like goggles or flotation devices... The park provides floaties and life jackets. The water at best generally is never more than about 4ft deep I think. (I don't think they allow that stuff in anyway)
Lifeguards with noodles are stationed round the entire park along with multiple on each attraction.
The air brush place charges 5$ for shirt then random cost for the designs they have up.... So any design it's about 30+. They will up charge you for more than one word tho since I asked for a appropriate phrase for the design chosen. Definitely more expensive than some of the other places I've done but the qualitys nice so I won't complain. They even leave care instructions

This place use to be a cheap alternative to Blue Bayou in Baton Rouge years back. A good nice small fun water park, not much to do but still enjoyable for your kids and you get your money’s worth. Not anymore!!! I know prices all over has been on the rise, but $186 for 2 adults, a 10 year and a 3 year old toddler is too much money for 4 water slides and a lazy river!!! That’s Blue Bayou prices and you get way more things. Even though my family enjoyed themselves it’s not worth the price. The bathrooms are nasty, some of the showers don’t work and the food is overpriced as well. Until they lower their prices or add more attractions to justify their high price we won’t be back. We’ll be going to Blue Bayou from here on out. More bang for your Buck

It's small, but the perfect size! The food prices are high for sure. I'm def packing an ice chest and bringing the kids to eat in the car. $9 cheeseburger and $10 chicken tenders are outrageous. Cut the price in half, and I bet EVERYONE would eat. Other than that, the restrooms are clean, a variety of different areas that you can go to, the lazy river is awesome, and they don't make you use a float. We will be back for sure!

Took a group of 136 Louisiana middle schoolers for an end of the year trip. From booking to the day of, we had an amazing experience. Mrs. Terri was great at getting us booked and suggested renting the pier house and additional cabanas and I’m so glad we did that! The kids had a shaded place to rest occasionally. We hardly had to wait for food at all and had 258 meal vouchers that included unlimited drinks. My students made memories to last a lifetime. Better than the Six Flags trip we took last year!!! Thank you for an awesome experience!

The prices are fair, but the season pass is a steal if you plan on going more than once in one year. If you want to buy a ticket for just one day, I highly recommend buying online and in advance as prices will be MUCH cheaper, even 40% cheaper than they will be at the gate, the day of your visit.
The slides are tons of fun, but I really love just sitting in a tube and going around the river. Weekends are very busy, so I do recommend going on a weekday for a calmer experience.
There is plenty of public free seating, as well as cabanas and locker rentals. Life jackets and inner tubes are also free. Even (unlimited!!!) soft drinks are free which is a huge bonus!
This place has wonderful customer service, with friendly employees who clearly enjoy working there. The park seems to hire a lot of local teens and it’s nice to see that they’re giving back to the community by providing kids with work experience and training them to have such great customer service skills.
I really appreciate this park and Gulfport wouldn’t be the same without it.

It is a good place for families and for all ages. They have ample seating and many shaded areas to escape from the sun or to cool down. The attractions were fun and plenty to choose from. They are good for little kids or adults. They have a restaurant inside, good grilled items, soft drinks funnel cake, ice cream and more. You can even order from their app and have it delivered to your location inside the facility. They have spacious changing rooms and restrooms. They have plenty of lifeguards for safety. The lazy river was fun and it has a long trail and can accommodate many people.
The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because we came on the weekend and it was very crowded, and I assume they don’t limit the number of people inside. But all in all it is still a fun place to go.

Nice time with family. The only thing that I did not like was how nasty cabana 10 was. Although it rained, all the other ones were clean and that one was full of mud. Not a pretty picture when your sitting there trying to eat your food. Burgers and fries were ok, chicken tenders were good. Bathroom changing area was very nasty as well. Stinks and smelled like urine. Overall, we enjoyed it!
Absolutely breathtaking Course. The turf is manicured perfectly. The greens have a subair system so they’re always in great shape and run quick as the day goes on. I wanted to make sure to write this review as there are not too many on this course. Go ahead and book that tee time. It’s worth every penny.

Although Biloxi, MS is best known for its beaches and casinos, its appeal to golfers and golf travelers is growing quickly. Coastal Mississippi has some amazing and stunning golf courses, with plenty of courses for the public to play, numerous restaurants to eat at, and the opportunity to win big at one of the many casinos. It’s a chance for a hole-in-one and a million-dollar jackpot all in the same day! There are 12 courses immediately in the Biloxi area; several more if you don’t mind putting a few miles on the rental car. Here’s my take on a few of them.
A few of the courses are owned by casinos. Fallen Oak is by far the crown jewel of golf in the Coastal Mississippi area. The course is owned by the MGM Resorts International and is available exclusively to guests of Beau Rivage Resort & Casino. Designed by legendary course architect Tom Fazio, Fallen Oak has consistently ranked as the best course in Mississippi by Golf Digest and Golfweek and since its opening in 2007 has held the No. 2 position on Golfweek’s Best Casino Course list, trailing only its sister MGM Resorts International course Shadow Creek in Las Vegas. Fallen Oak is enjoyable regardless of your golf capabilities. Beginners will marvel at the playability of the course while seasoned golfers will enjoy the challenge. Both will be consumed by the aesthetic beauty of the course as you make your way around. Stay and Play golf packages start at $180/pp, double occupancy.
When it comes to dining options, you can’t go wrong with what each of the casinos has to offer: incredible buffets as well as high-end steakhouses. Get outside the casinos and head into the towns of Ocean Springs and Biloxi and I have a couple of suggestions. Patio 44 in Biloxi is known for its fresh take on classic Creole-style dishes that incorporate the freshest ingredients available from the Delta and Gulf Coast regions, dishes like shrimp and grits, fried catfish tacos, and seafood gumbo. The Buckhead Certified Angus Beef they serve is aged for a minimum of 21 days. Patio 44 also offers one of the most unique – and delicious – appetizers I’ve ever had. Their Debris Fries are a “southern take” on Canadian poutine. Perfectly cooked French fries with braised beef trimmings, brown gravy, and melted cheese, garnished with green onions. It’s a must!
Maison de Lu is Ocean Springs is another great choice. New Jersey native Luann Ellis left the snow and headed for Gulf Coast over 20 years ago and now calls Ocean Springs home. Maison De Lu is located in the heart of downtown Ocean Springs and serves some interesting creations. The Goat Cheese Torte is delicious; layered with sundried tomatoes and pesto and served with warm pita chips. The New Zealand Rack of Lamb is sliced into chops and served with the sauce du jour. The side dishes are amazing; Roasted Red Beets, Roasted Mushrooms and Onions, and a great alternative to potatoes, Twice Baked Cauliflower.
This is just a brief glimpse into everything Coastal Mississippi has to offer golfers. From great drives on the course to short drives to everything you want to do off the course, The Secret Coast has got you covered.

This is a beautiful course. The staff was very welcoming and professional. The course is tough but really well maintained and gorgeous. My only small complaint is that they take your driver’s license when you rent a cart and we forgot to get our license back at the end of our round so we had to drive back out the next day. Visit the bar area and back patio as well; it’s stunning.

Wow!!!all around just amazing. From the time you get out your vehicle till you finish. The course if very unforgiving. If you hit the ball in the rough good luck finding it. Hopefully I get to make it back here again.

Started off with a fabulous breakfast - perfectly cooked eggs, ham, toast. The starter was really friendly and helpful. The course was beautiful. Most importantly as a higher handicapper female player, I loved that the fwd tees are past all the "impossible" carries. After playing, our clubs were cleaned and put in the car while we ate an early dinner. A great day!

AWESOME ENVIORNMENT. We tent camped in April, it was great but the bathhouses were not. My only complaint! Take your own TP and don't plan on a shower.
Mandi Slone — Google review
Place is nice and nature is beautiful. Our camp sites grill must have broken in the past and they removed it and have not replaced it yet screwing up our meal plans. Also for some reason they decided to renovate the bathrooms and showers in April. I don't know why they didn't do this during the winter season when no one would have been here.

We stayed in rustic cabin 7. We payed over 100 a night. The air vents looked like that through out the whole cabin. I didn't know the couch had the furniture nails hanging out till my 17 month old daughter ran to me holding her little hand. The batteries in the thermostat died. We Had to replace them.. This place was a wreck. Called and went to the main office and never got hold of anyone. Was the worst experience I've ever had.

Wish they gave military discount. Other than that the lake is nice well kept up. But they have a lot of those weeds that makes it difficult to fish. Very quiet

Completely disappointed in the camping situation here, there is no pride at this campground. Watched the people who permanently live in the "first come first serve" camp sites drive around and take firewood the was left for the next camper. The site we rented was absolutely garbage and trashed, easter toys, candy wrappers all over the site A WEEK A after Easter. Fire pit full of trash and cans, broken glass bottles, unlevel rv pads. Was told Over the phone it was the newest camp area they had and had the nicest bathrooms which is frightening considering the conditions , the gravel road through the camp had major wash out and if you had a low car it'd be impossible to get around. There were toilet seats ripped off in the bathrooms and literally feces spread on the wall that WASN'T fresh. I won't be back here and I'm going to make sure everyone in my network is aware.

Great place for RV Camping, tubing, boating and hanging by the water. Multiple little beaches throughout the reservoir. Several boat launches. Some camp sites are full hookup. At least 150 rv/tent sites with water and electric. Very shady. Cabins available to rent too.

Great day swimming with friends! Wear sun screen!! Bring a canopy for shade in this crazy hot weather! Don't forget to bring a float to relax on! It says no alcohol but we saw someone get off a boat with a beer bottle in hand! 🔥

This is our first time visiting and camping here. It’s huge.. two swimming areas… one swing set that needs updating. They are updating two of the bath houses.. the bath house that’s by us in the Seneca area, is very small. There’s 2 toilets and 1 shower. There’s no soap or paper towels in bathroom. I’m giving a 3 star cause we’re in a pop up camper, with two children on this trip with us, and require at least a two shower bath house when when have all 4 kids with us. You’d think with as many camping spots they have that they’d actually have plenty of showers and all for everyone. That was the only bummer. The water park is a nice little set up though. It’s $2off the wrist bands if your camping, so it’s $10 wrist bands for sliding and $3 for observing. You can’t bring any outside drinks or beer into the water park, which I think is great since it’s kid friendly. I also think they should have an adult section for the adults to hang out in water. I did enjoy the fact that the water park didn’t use chlorine water and used lake water instead.

Update: Came back for our yearly august trip that got delayed due to the temp and burn ban. Burn ban was unfortunately still in effect and it got chilly enough a campfire would've been nice. Also we were not able to get our usual sites together and we're spread through the park. It was still a good experience, as always we stay in the RV section but only have tents. One group does rent a cabin, but I've never been in one. I didn't hear anything bad other than bring your own bedding and maybe a mattress pad/topper. Sites were clean, although the one I was staying on was hilly and basically ended up in the drainage ditch (def checked the weather). We had several families between 3 sites, with one by the beach. I'm guessing it's being remodeled, but the restroom by the beach was locked up the duration of our trip. The other restrooms were in cleanish, working conditions. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Between here and PBJ, this is by far the superior campground. The sites looked better and we're not as close together. Even with a mostly full park and ppl even having Halloween decorations out, it felt less cramped. Interactions with the park rangers were night and day. They were helpful instead of harassing us. We were admonished for not having our dogs on a leash, but that was it. Saw them driving around but they let the guests be. No complaints about 'too many units(tents)' @our sites. Everyone agreed this was the better experience, and a highly recommended campsite in general.
My first time here. Just did primitive camping with several groups. The group I was with does this every year. Got a site next to the beach. We brought all our gear but there are rentals nearby. Except for all the canoeing, jogging, kids and dogs it was very relaxing! One odd thing was while there were plenty of birds, we did not notice any squirrels or raccoons.

The Waterpark was fun and clean but that's the only positive part of my review.
We stayed in a camp house for 2 days and it was miserable. There were German roaches, the ac unit barely cooled down the cabin and it was super small.
The reservation lady told me that pots, pans and dishes were included but the cabin was bare when we arrived.
We were constantly cleaning and killing german roaches.
The flooring through half of the cabin was missing.
The bunk beds had cracks in the wood that held it to the wall.
The doors had zero weather stripping so the cool air was being sucked out as it was blowing.
The sink had a leak in the cabinet below.
The stove fan did not work.
I know the TV was a bonus but the speakers were busted and the TV was the size of a laptop.

Avoid the lady at the front desk at ALL costs. She was rude and very obnoxious. When we went to this Fling Creek Waterpark at around 6pm, she asked us very personal questions as if it matters..?! She proceeds to ask us what our friends’ last name were when we told her that our friends were already here. And asks where we were going when we told her about 3 times from the very start. It was very weird. After that, she told us that we were only going to stay for 10-15 minutes before getting kicked out. We did NOT get kicked out, and got in for free. At the end of the day, it was very enjoyable at the Flint Creek Waterpark. Everything else was nice and I do recommend coming here. That rude lady ruined my mood tho f her

Love staying at cabins every year. Had a few slight problems. A family members stove burners not all working and also one of the families fridge freezer in the cabin didn't ever freeze. Also could had used some bush trimming and weedeating that obstructed the water view.

I went in to get a shampoo and cut. I broke my arm a couple weeks ago and haven't been able to anything with my hair. Of course it had to be my right arm ugh.. sooo...I needed to get my hair washed and cut so that I could take care of it myself. Got about 6 inches cut off. So much easier! So A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO AUDRA! She did a wonderful job! I love the cut! She saved my life! I'll be going back to see her again in a week to get a new color.

Additionally, on site laundry machines are available at each shower house which operate via coins. The park has a scenic trail along with lake activities and disc golf course. Visitors can take advantage of plenty of space between camp sites ensuring privacy from neighbors.
$28 a night for full hook ups with water, electric and sewer. On site laundry machines at each of the shower houses, the laundry machines are coin-operated. We had plenty of space between our site and our neighbors. The park has 1 trail, lake activities and a disc golf course. We loved our stay at Paul B. Johnson State Park Campground in Hattiesburg, MS.
Very peaceful and quiet location except for the geese at night. 😆
We had great cellphone service. (Verizon)
We camped during the winter months when bad weather was moving through to the East Coast. Had a bit of rain. Cold and windy. We were unable to go on any trails and too cold to do anything at the water.
We had views of the beautiful lake from almost every window in our 5th wheel.
We didn’t use the facilities or see any of the rangers/hosts.
The site we had was a back in site long enough for our 34’ 5th wheel and GMC 2500 diesel truck. It was partially paved and almost level. Had a slight incline. The site was equipped with 20/30/50 amp full hookup w/h2o and sewage.
The campground was relatively clean and well maintained. It had a charcoal grill and picnic table. There is no fire pit at the site. Someone had burned directly on the grass and pine straw. Which was stupid because it obviously burned way out of hand since about 12’ of grass/straw had been burned. So dangerous. They left their firewood remnants. (No host/ranger removed the debris.) We only stayed one night, so we didn’t care because we didn’t really use that area. However, it was quite unsightly.
This location is very convenient to just about everything. Downtown Hattiesburg restaurants and shopping are within 25 minutes. It’s less than 2 hours away from New Orleans, LA and Jackson, MS.
We were surprised at how quiet and peaceful this location was considering that they were at about 75% capacity. Very surprised at how many people were there during winter months with overcast weather. We got a good nights sleep. Very pleased with our stay.
Would love to visit again. ❤️

Our visit happened in the winter and the lake levels were really low. But this is a wonderful park for fisherman and boaters. The park has bath houses, laundry facilities, cabins, super sites, primitive sites that are wooded and secluded. We were not so close to our neighbors and plenty of room to keep from disturbing them. There were many families in the park that were preparing for Christmas dinner.
The park is rather secluded but we took the hour’s drive to the gulf coast and 20 min drive to eat Mediterranean food in Hattiesburg.
Our site had sewer, water and electricity. The pad was asphalt but it was crumbling and we had to be careful exiting our camper. It was quit a drop down. There is a very nice visitor’s center that we frequented and a boat dock near the visitor center. Don’t forget your fishing license.
We saw the park ranger but not the camp host but it was winter and close to Christmas.

The lake and the grounds are great. They’re well maintained. The disk golf course is exceptional. The cottage leave a lot to be desired. Just don’t have your expectations too high on the lodging. I would recommend a tent. We will likely go back but not for an overnight. In case that’s what you’re planning. I don’t want to bash the place too bad. The park is a 5. The cottages are a 1.

Enjoyed our visit in June 2023. State Parks really are a great deal. We had a 2 room cabin on the lake with its own pier and small sandy beach for much less than any two bed hotel would have cost. Master bed looked out over the lake. The usual bare necessities were present in the kitchen, and appreciated.
Staff was friendly and even found a discount we had not seen or was not available to us online for 100% Disability, which was credited back to the account we made our reservation on.
While we only brought kayaks, we saw others in several types of watercraft – so if that is your thing be sure to look it up.
Sadly, you can hear the nearby Highway 49 – but we didn’t find it too distracting. We also got to watch, but not hear, several aircraft land at the nearby Camp Shelby.
Get your head out of everything having to be “top end” by staying in a fancy hotel and instead enjoy a much larger private space and an outdoors to die for, right out the back door.

Beautiful lake. Lots of camping sites. Many cabins to rent from. Main house has a room that can be rented for meetings/reunions - accommodates about 50-60 folks. Restrooms. Several individual, covered picnic areas with grills. Main house has about 6 video games and 2 pool tables. Coke machines. Splash Pad. Good for biking and fishing. Disc golf course. The day I went they were having a disc golf tournament. Gas station right up to e road for fuel, snacks, ice etc.

This park was an unexpected gem! We are snow birds just migrating from one warm state park to another and we try not to have any expectations from any, but this one definitely exceeded them! Roomy full service sites, beautiful lake views, well kept grounds and facilities. Very accessible roads, full Internet/cell access, and within half hour to a delightful city, Hattiesburg, where there is everything you could possibly need. We will definitely be coming back here, but will stay a lot longer!

The Hattiesburg Zoo, located in Kamper Park, offers visitors the opportunity to view over 75 different animal species. This relatively small but entertaining zoo features a carousel and train rides for kids, as well as various activities. The Lights of the Wild light display is a popular attraction during the holiday season with Elsa, Anna and Olaf from Frozen available for pictures. Treats like popcorn and hot cocoa are also available at designated stations throughout the zoo.
Absolutely loved the Lights of the Wild light display at the Hattiesburg Zoo. This is the first year I have attended the light display at this particular zoo. They did an amazing job. Elsa, Anna, & Olaf were there to take pictures with the kids. There were stations setup to purchase popcorn, hot coco, and other treats. The line for the train ride was long but it moved relatively fast in my opinion. I would recommend and attend again!

Not the biggest zoo by any means. But what they do have is a nice zoo. The animals seemed to be well taken care of. Every enclosure had a fan blowing towards the animals to help cool them off. They had plenty of food and water & none seemed to be distressed.
The admission price is very fair as well the train ride tickets.
Free parking with shade is readily available. It's easy to get in and out of. All of the staff we encountered seemed to be in good spirits.

Pretty cheap for a zoo. Once we entered there were a lot of signs that said due to the extreme heat a lot of animals would be inside. It would have been nice for that to be posted outside the admissions area so we could have chosen if we wanted to go in or not. Or even tickets to be discounted due to that. It was kid friendly as they had a splash pad and everything for them, even some tent shades for the adults. The workers at admissions didn’t care to be nice but all other zoo crew we met were nice. It would be cool to have each animals story posted on their cage given most are there for rehab. Overall it’s something fun to do but not sure if we will go back any time soon. Maybe once they change exhibits or it gets cooler but too small to continually go back.

Stopped in for the first time today & really enjoyed it!! Really loved all the Halloween decor they have all over...very festive & fun!! 🎃 👻 👹Very kid friendly, not crowded so we were able to see all the animals & either read about them or the kind & knowledgeable staff were readily available for more information at several of the enclosures. Cool little train ride around the park in case you missed anything walking around, for just an additional 3 bucks a person. Very affordable, doesn't take all day. A must see when you're in the area. 🦒🦘🐖🐐🦛🐪🐒🦦🦚

I had a blast at this zoo. It was on the small size, but there was lots for the little kids to do. We got there right before the zoo opened and there was already a small line of people waiting, this was on a Saturday so maybe the week days are less busy. We right away rushed over and bought tickets to feed the giraffes, they only sell a few tickets day of. It was so cool to get to feed them, staff were super outgoing and made sure everyone in the group was included. I paid for the sloth experience which is $50 but did include admission to the zoo. Again, that was a very cool experience. The sloth I met was Molasses, and she was so sweet and soft. I am very glad I paid for the experience! Finally the food was surprisingly delicious. We had lunch at Ladha’s Cantina and they had a special spring break menu with a Luau Burger 10/10 amazing burger. Super pleased with the whole day! We got there right before the zoo opened so we had no troubles finding a parking spot, however when we left at 2pm cars were fighting to find a space.

All of the animal enclosures were very clean and the animals were obviously well cared for. They have fans all through the zoo and they put up umbrellas on the sunny walkways for extra shade these 2 things really help with the heat. My kids loved the rope course and getting to pet the goats in the petting zoo. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we will go again one day.

Been there twice this month. It's great. It's smaller than some of the other zoos, but makes up for it with its laid back charm. Kids love that it has a splash pad and a nice cool down area. The drinks and food are good as well. The electric train was cool.

Compared to the zoo in New Orleans I was highly impressed (our last trip to Audubon zoo was HORRIBLE) several opportunities to get up close and personal with animals, and the up keep of the zoo was just fabulous. Nice zoo that seems to be still expanding. Expected the splash pad to have fixtures, but it's just water shooting up out the ground. It cut out while we were there. I don't know if this is normal because this was our first visit. The train however needs to be replaced. It's leaking and just looks old as heck. There's a new looking train that was parked while we were on something that sounded as if it would give out at any moment. It has a decent amount of animals in nice enclosures. There were a lot of them not on display however. No tigers and the were a few others not there. I have been to a lot of zoos, this one is at the bottom of the list. I'm used to seeing way more animals. This zoo may be a contender in the up coming years. They are building a water park. Never been to a zoo with an actual water park.

There’s good options to stop by for a drink or a snack. Lots of places for kids to play on. It took me 2 hours to go through the entire place.
I loved the decoration they have for each display, related to the animal’s original country/part of the world.
The Christmas/Holidays decor was so cute! All over the zoo the were lights and decorations. I would’ve love to visit in the night time.

You have to buy tickets, but it is well worth your money. The zoo offers as much as others do. You can walk to see the exhibits or ride the little train. There is a playground area in the rear for your kids. There is what was once a place for bands and dances in the big pavilion by the restrooms and playground. On the other side of the zoo is tennis courts, a baseball field, a walkway between the tennis courts and an exercise walking trail. There is plenty of shade trees for an old fashioned picnic too.

The months of June and July only Saturday nights from 6pm-9pm and tickets are $17.25 each
Keep in mind prices are always subject to change.
Also keep in mind they charge taxes just like anywhere else and there is a 4% charge for all debit and credit transactions.
Now this place is great for all of the family, unless you have a kid that is scared of getting water in their face or just scared of fast slides and all.
Souvenir cups are $6 each and super cute. With the souvenir cup you save $0.75 for each refill which is $3.00. Without the souvenir cup you pay $3.75 each drink.
Not sure about the food, I’ve never ate inside the park, always walked down to the bk beside the park, which I will never do again because my burger and fries tasted like fish and so forth.. my mistake, next time I’ll try the food in the park!
They have a first aid section if needed, which we needed due to my child deciding she’d go belly first on the kid slide at the activity pool. By no means was this accident the parks fault, it was my child’s fault because she was told not to go down belly first but she did anyways, and I also believe the life guard told her not to as well. She went belly first tho and ripped the hid off her little lady area.. so I advise to keep reminding your child not to go belly first. First aid guy was super helpful gave me everything we needed to fix her up.
Wear water shoes! The concrete is super hot and will blister your feet. Park is always kept clean and all the staff are always friendly!

Small water park but is a nice place to cool off. (Moved to MS from GA and we are use to White Waters in ATL) Lazy river gets a little over crowded at times. A few water slides, kiddie area, lockers, changing rooms, a concession stand and another pool up on the hill. Overall a nice little place to cool off on hot summer days. No coolers allowed and you can exit the water park and return. There are a couple of fast food restaurants close by and convenient stores.

Central Mississippi's secret gem for families in the summer! Prices are extremely reasonable, there are plenty of activities for kids of all ages, and very well staffed. We expected overpriced concessions and were pleasantly surprised to find it was comparable to fast food prices. There was a variety of snack choices, too. The waterslides are awesome. On our visit, there were very short lines at any given ride. It took longer to climb the hill and stairs than wait in line. We had two day passes and the second day it was a little busier but still didn't wait in line long. On both days, the park was clean but there were a lot of bugs (like bees or wasps) in the lazy river. Overall, it was an awesome experience. Our first visit will definitely NOT be our last.

Well this is our third time this summer and probably the last. I was so aggravated when I walked in the park after paying almost $140 for 4 people and the water is so gross looking that you can’t see a foot under water. I have a pool and know how water balancing works. This happened bc someone isn’t doing their job. The lifeguard told me they put bleach in it this morning which I guess is the cheap way to shock it? I feel like I should’ve been given a warning before I entered park but I guess all they care about is getting your money.

For 6 adults on a Sunday, it ran me $160. Every Sunday, they are open at 1 pm and close at 6 pm. We had an extraordinarily amazing time! On the flip side, as we were getting out of the vehicle to walk to the entrance, it started sprinkling, but that only lasted about 15 to 20 minutes. Surprisingly, it only took us about 30 to 40 minutes to get there! Specifically, the park maintains 5 large slides 🛝 and 3 small slides 🛝. Next, the lazy river, snack and drink bar🍕🥤, lockers, restrooms🚻, and gift shop keep the same hours. Plus, several lifeguards ⛑️ are on duty while upbeat, continuous music🎶 plays on the loudspeakers 📢.🏴☠️Additionally, an area is even designated for smokers 🚬! Certainly, I can't wait to go back‼️ 🎢☀️🏖⛲️🎽🤿👙🩴🚿🪣🛍

It isn't huge but honestly it's just the right size. I rented a cabana and it was perfectly placed to keep an eye on all of my teenagers and pre teens running around. The lazy river was AMAZING. We were sad it started storming and they had to shut down but they did give us rain passes to come again for free. We can't wait to go back. The staff was all super sweet amd the snow cones tasted awesome. Really a 10/10 experience.

This was my first and last time in this place. Starts with absolutely ridiculous bag search upfront, I am sorry but I don’t see how water can’t be allowed. It is a basic need especially in Mississippi with 106F outside. Hostile personnel, felt like they forgot how to be friendly and smile. It is small, full of bugs and lacks attractions, but the cherry on the pie is that they have painted the angled areas around the slides with slippery paint, in a span of 10 mins I saw 3 people fall (some severely). Proudly displaying that they are not responsible for the injuries I got no idea how the inspection was even passed (maybe it was never done, no idea). OSHA defines needs to look at this. Every single area that has some shade is taken by cabanas (of course you need to rent it, it is basically open areas with plastic chairs, the only different is shade). This place has figured out how to sell shade! As you leaving this facility and trying to use the changing room, expect no locks on the doors and not a single hook! You have to figure out what is more important, to get rid of wet swimsuit or protect your privacy, you definitely not getting both. Overall I can’t be more disappointed with my miserable experience, will never come back!

First an foremost the establishment was extremely well-maintained. Also I never felt nervous for me and my family to be playing or walking around unattended. The food was a bit pricey which is to be expected but it was definitely good.

Way overpriced compared to other waterparks but since its the only one in the area... Clean. Kids had fun. No outside food, not even water.
This a beautiful museum with so much Art and history. Everyone was friendly and eager to share.loved the walking tour by George Bassi! George was so very knowledgeable!

Beautiful hidden treasure in Laurel, Mississippi! This is a beautiful collection of portraits, landscapes, sculpture, and textiles. The museum itself is a work of art. The historic homes walking tour is delightful and doable for most. Several older amblers were with our tour. George Price the museum director was a fun and knowledgeable guide. We will be back!

Amazing museum, the staff were unbelievably welcoming and Ms Angie was so good and kind with our three kids. The southern hospitality is no joke in Laurel and they displayed that here...
The museum has a really nice selection of art and exhibits, the whole vibe is great and a lovely place to visit if you are in town.

Great place to visit while in Laurel. Free but requested donation to see the visiting Chihuly display. Donation request well worth viewing. History of the area was impressive. Highly recommend visiting here. Staff very helpful donation would have been given even without Chihuly display, museum is well worth it.

Used to be a library in Laurel, and still provide the books for anybody to sit and read! Amazing museum of art! You got to see this place. And they sell stuff as well.
Michael Shirley — Google review
I was surprised at the size and quality of the museum and it’s collection. There was a wide variety of pieces (including a visiting Chihuly collection) and they were well displayed. This museum appears very well funded, and tells a story of turn of the 20th century wealth and affluence in Laurel (think hanging with the Vanderbilts) resulting from the large-scale timber and lumber mill business. Poised to take his place in the family business ,the museum’s namesake died in an untimely manner from complications of appendicitis after graduating Princeton and 9 months after marriage. The facility was originally established in his memory as a public library but has continued to grow with acquisitions and expansions.

More than it appears! Being from Chicago, we have experienced world class museums and this one rates up there as well!
Laurel is rich with history and the Lauren Roger’s Museum shares that rich history so well! It is amazing to see and experience in the impact and the passion that one person and one family can have. This museum is so much more than a single family sharing collectibles, it truly captures the essence of art’s beauty and all that it stands for.
We purchased the coffee table book which contains much of the artwork shown in the museum and now a month later we still open it to look at the beautiful photos of the art in the museum.

The museum exceeded expectations! Beautiful building with interesting history and excellent art library along with interesting collections from private collectors. Nice Japanese block print collection and original examples of the NYC Trashcan artists which was new to me. Superb bronzes along with large and intricate blown glass sculptures. A definite must see if you are in the area!

Brought the family from Hattiesburg to see the Van Gogh exhibit. My son raves about it after going on a field trip so we had to check it out. It was a wonderful visit and we learned alot about Van Gogh as well as lots of other types of art throughout the world and different time periods!

I was in the area with a friend looking at places in the area. Another museum we went to suggested this as a place to go to, so I made my driver come for a visit.
Lauren Rogers was the son of a local businessman who was the major wood processor in the area who passed away tragically because of appendicitis. Admission is free, so make a donation or buy something from the gift shop. Talk to the employees because they love to talk about the building and its history.

Greeted by a lovely lady who gave us the history of the museum and the Rodgers Family.
There's a short film about the history of Laurel in an adjacent room, and the exhibits are fantastic! My personal favorite is the basket exhibit since I'm a basket weaver myself!
The Van Gogh exhibit was spectacular as one can jump right into a scene.
Great job!

Great docent walking tour of historic area! Thanks, George!
Lovely museum! Nice variety of artwork: oil paintings, sculptures, English silver and Native American basketry! (May I suggest a paper backing to glass descriptions of items to make it easier to read. The lighting makes it difficult.)
And that Chihuly glass chandelier was spectacular!
Need an inexpensive paperback book about Laurel, walking tour house details & pictures and some museum picture examples. Would be a great way to get museum donations & let patrons leave with a nice memory souvenir!!!
Three lakes anchor this scenic 3,300-acre park, which offers fishing, hiking & horseback riding.

Beautiful pit stop for our road trips to and from the gulf coast from Memphis. There are playgrounds and parks for our kiddo to run around and stretch her legs, plenty of shaded picnic areas, walking paths, and a lovely view of a lake and lots of trees. My only concern was how fast sole cars were driving through the park, even with speed bumps. Watch out with small children!

Such a beautiful area and worth the stop! Whether you are coming here for fitness, great backdrop for photo shoot, or just to get the peace of mind of being by the lake it is worth the time! In my opinion this is the best area in Meridian.

Loved this park! Ate a big cracker barrel breakfast, then did this trail. like other reviews have said, it's about 1/3 paved walking and about 2/3 gravel path through the woods. plenty of steep inclines and declines, but nothing that a regular non-athletic beginner can't handle. For reference, I am 5ft 10in 360lbs and I did the loop in about 2.5hrs. My distance measured on All Trails showed just a little over 6 miles.
Sunday morning around 10:30am to about 1pm, gloomy cloudy conditions, temp around 60 degrees, not crowded at all. 10:30 to noon I only passed like 3 people going the opposite direction. Noon to 1pm I saw more people coming in and walking around the smaller reservoir loop.
Really beautiful and peaceful wooded walking trail

I love Bonita and refer to it as my happy place. I use the walking track frequently. I sometimes walk the trails. They are both nicely maintained. Bonita has numerous picnic tables most with beautiful views of the lakes. There are two playgrounds that my grandson enjoys. Horse riding is very popular here as well as mountain biking. There is a boat ramp and ample parking for boat trailers. I see people fishing quite often. I enjoy taking photos of the animal life and the flora through the seasons. I highly recommend sending time here.

This carousel 🎠 was originally built in 1894, by a man in Pennsylvania. Beautifully restored and works like a charm!! We rode it several times. Thank you to the 2 kind, young ladies working in the building without AC in Mississippi, in late summer. Bless them for showing up I appreciate you. They are only open on Saturdays and the cost is $1 per person and you can prepay for as many rides as you want. An awesome treat!

Had our son's birthday party here a few weeks ago and was really impressed! The staff was so friendly and helpful and the kids were able to ride the carousel more than once. They provided me with an itinerary of sorts so I was able to keep everything running smoothly and on time, which was super helpful! There's plenty of room to set up and decorate and still have ample space for the kids to run and play. The carousel goes a little faster than I remember, but the kids didn't seem to mind!

This place is literally a piece of history that has been maintained through the years and I'm amazed at how well its been kept up. I had my baby pictures taken here almost 30 years ago now, we came here after swim lessons when I was a kid, I've come to events here as an adult... and it's been her decades before me and still runs. I'm very proud of this piece of Meridian. The area has changed but it's still standing.

On our way to vacation in Gulf Shores from Missouri, we stopped here so my daughter could ride on the carousel that my brother rode on 36 years ago, when he was just a baby. We were hurrying to get here before they closed, and barely made it by 4:30ish, unfortunately, when we got here tho, the carousel had been broke down for a couple of weeks and won't be up and running for awhile longer. However, the ladies working here are super sweet and friendly, they even let us go inside and take pictures, and my daughter got to sit on several of the different animals, so she still got to have fun. Then as we were leaving, we asked how much the cotton candy was, and they just let us have some, and even gave my daughter some other goodies, so I'm still giving them 5-stars because it's a neat place to see and the ladies working here are excellent.
Danielle Dodson — Google review
We thought it would not be open due to the reviews. We were blessed because it was open and we got to ride it. $1.00 a person. Wow. It is really nice and the two ladies working there were super nice.
This carousel really moves so hold on.
Guy Phelps — Google review
WOW WOW WOW, Son: 5 Stars! Daughter: 1000 Stars! What a great piece of history captured here! They sure don't build them like they used to! The original gearing of this carousel and the way it completely is suspended is just awesome! When you get on it sways a little because it's all balanced from a center point. The lady has to sit in the middle and work the clutch and hand brake just like the old days! The lights work from the copper rings in the center and wheels that ride around them. The hair in most of the horses is real. The antlers in the dear is real. A MUST stop if you are driving on I-20!

Real disappointed at this time with not helping or lack of concern for freshman students that are having a problem with a class. When you go to orientation they harp on helping the freshman students. When the professor sees a student struggling they should help or guide them to someone who can instead of letting them fail. Very upset and disappointed!

Literally the greediest school. Expansive museum with over 100 antique & collectible automobiles, including a 19th-century Benz.
Great experience! As pictured, Museum is a large warehouse containing hundreds of vehicles spanning all of humanity’s automotive endeavors. You start with a brief video introduction to the founder and facility, then meander through vehicles laid out from oldest to most recent. Most vehicles contain a tiny audio speaker with a red button on top, when pressed will give you a brief narration about the car you’re standing in front of. It’s a nice touch, but if the facility is at all noisy these narrations are difficult to hear. Staff was very friendly and welcoming, with the experience being reasonably priced and well maintained. Definitely worth checking out of you’re in the area.

Spent a lovely morning there today while the family went to Elvis’s Birth place. My 7 year old Car nut and I had a wonderful wander around. It is a clean and well setup museum with a little electronic box at each car to hear a small snippet about it, just enough info. Cars have some good patina for their age and some fully restored but great to see some in clean as driven condition. Highly recommended if you enjoy cars to pop in.

We really enjoyed our visit here. Everyone was so friendly and informative. The grounds were well kept. The home, church, and chapel experiences were so neat. I came here about 30 years ago as a child and I obviously appreciated it more this time as an adult. To see where Elvis was born and where his family lived and where they came from was a really neat experience.

Amazing, so glad we stopped by. We missed the hours of operation. However there was still lots to see and enjoy. The reflection pool was so peaceful. There is access to his childhood statue from ahe 13. (He was tall). See the outside of the house he grew up in and the church is sang in as well as the car the drove to Memphis in.

We ended up here on "fan appreciation day" so I don't know if it's always as crowded but be prepared for parking issues. When we arrived the lot was full but luckily someone was leaving. It looks like they have auxiliary places to park and a cold cart shuttle so it might not be too bad.
Not very handicapped accessible without help as there are no automated doors and no push buttons. There are ramps to get everywhere but trying to get in and out of the museum is difficult cause the doors are pull toward you and not push.
Besides those two little things it was a great place to see some fun memorabilia, Elvis history, and hear locals playing music in the yard. The souvenir store is not overpriced which was a great relief after visiting Disney World! I mean we got a hip swinging clock for only $25! Attraction tickets were alright. If we went again I think I'd only pay for one attraction, the museum. The house is 300 sq ft so there isn't much to see and the church service didn't interest us. If you're like me and just like taking pictures of the outside of the homes and don't need in depth I think those could be skipped.
I would also recommend a stop at Johnnies drive in after right down the street. However, they do get busy and they have a small parking area so keep that in mind.

First and foremost, we are not diehard Elvis fans, and we arrived shortly before the museum closed (4:00 p.m.). So, we didn't see the museum.
But, there is a wealth of things to see and do around the museum that is completely free. The grounds are beautifully appointed. You can see Elvis' home that he was born in, and the church that he attended as a young boy. There are lots of interpretive signs detailing his life as a boy in Tupelo, MS.
This place is worth a visit if for no other reason than to tour the grounds. Also, there is no charge to enter the gift shop.
Parking is free, and there is space allocated for large RVs and motorcoach.

Even though the museum and gift shop were closed on the Sunday we visited, the grounds were still open to roam around. So peaceful to sit and there are lots of place to have picnics if you chose to.

If you’re an Elvis fan his birthplace is a must. Everything is nicely organized and it was fun to see a little bit of Elvis history. His birthplace is also a short drive from downtown Tupelo where Elvis bought his first guitar and you’ll find other Elvis themed Murals. The ticket prices were reasonable and we had a lot of fun. If you’re going in the summer bring a hat or umbrella…. There are a few parts of the tour where there is no shade.

Graceland is commercialized and expensive. Elvis Presley's Birthplace is neither. We skipped Graceland and visited the birthplace, and I think our time and money was well spent.
For a modest price, guests can visit the house in which Elvis was born, the church he attended, and a museum with many artifacts. The church features a 15-minute film of a condensed Assembly of God worship service, much as Elvis would have experienced as a child. Guests can also stroll the grounds and see several displays regarding Elvis' early life. Elvis Presley's Birthplace is well maintained and the staff was very friendly and informative. It really tells the story of Elvis' humble beginnings and who he was before fame and fortune influenced his life, some not for the better. It is well worth the visit, especially for Elvis fans.

This is a very peaceful and relaxing place to walk around. I arrived early on a Sunday so the house and church were closed but still slot to see and think about. The grounds are very well kept and easy access from the freeway. Worth spending time at.

This is a must see!! It was truly fascinating to see where Elvis was actually born and came from to see where he had risen to and it's just incredible. the grounds are absolutely beautiful and everyone is super friendl. They gave so much background in the house and in the church. I really enjoyed myself, this is definitely a must see.....

An informative and truly humble upbringing that Elvis was brought from. History and his roots of music in faith and belief in God and assembly. Living poor and having a desire to improve his family's life from such a humble beginning.

Die-hard Elvis will probably love this, but it's a very small site. Even the museum has a pretty small memorabilia collection. A bit pricey for what you're able to see.

Elvis Presley's Birthplace in Tupelo, Mississippi is a beautiful landmark to visit if you are in the area. There is a museum/gift shop on site. The museum is free to tour but there is an admission to tour his birthplace home and the church he attended when he was a child. This is a must stop for Elvis fans. I will add that across the street behind a building is an Elvis Fan Club warehouse that someone has that you can visit. I do not know what the cost is to visit.

We highly recommend this place! Who doesn't love Elvis!? This museum is an amazing place. Tupelo has done him proud preserving and presenting his story growing up. The staff at museum all friendly and informative. Our favorite part was visiting Elvis"s old restored church and "sitting in" on the church service ❤️

I primarily visited here for my mom as she is a huge Elvis fan, but I had a surprisingly fun time. Spent about an hour seeing the different sites. The tour of Elvis's house where he was born was really interesting! Overall, it is worth a visit if you are in the area.

We were just passing through & saw the sign. We got there when it was closed but could walk around, which was nice. Plan in the future to come back when it open & take in thw whole experience.
The Natchez Trace Parkway Visitor Center in Tupelo is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the history and natural beauty of this scenic roadway. The center offers a wealth of information about the parkway, with knowledgeable rangers available to answer any questions you may have. You might even catch special events like performances by local musicians. From here, you can easily access various points of interest along the parkway, such as Chickasaw Village site and Pharr Mounds.
Gracious park rangers welcome you here. Very informative 15 minute movie regarding history of the Trace Parkway. Nice restrooms, gift shop full of history books etc.
So far on the parkway, I have seen deer, wild turkey, armadillo (Wow!!!!), skunk, heron, and a variety of birds.

Another great stop along the Netis trace Parkway at one of the few Natis trace Parkway visitor centers located along the route. This was one of the better stops at a visitor center with all the stamps for your National Park stamp book. The visitor center also has a few stickers and some really nice Natchez Trace pins and hiking medallions for sale inside for all of us that collect that type of things.

Very nice place to visit and grab some souvenirs! Staff was great and the place was clean! Has some nice historical facts to learn while visiting! The parkway was beautiful to drive!

Watch the movie! If the staff gives you the opportunity to watch the movie about the history of the Trace, do it. It isn't your run of the mill monotone voice-over with boring still shots. This one is updated and has aerial images that will keep you watching. The facility itself is very clean and the walls are covered with facts and interesting photos. Worth a stop!

Visitor center had a lot of information about the history of the parkway. Maps and brochures available, no entry fee. The big maps of the parkway, broken down into north, central, and south were very helpful.

Enjoyed the information presented here on the parkway. I definitely recommend the 15min video on the parkway. The ranger (not sure if he was volunteer or paid) was very engaging with each visitor. He offered help as needed. Great little oasis along the parkway.
Kasandra Robbert — Google review
Well we always love stopping there. There's always something that we learn. You want to stop here and take a picture of the floor because it has a chart of the trace roadway. As to watch the movie. It's 15 minutes but well worth the history lesson. And you can browse the trinkets in the store. The best part is the volunteers that look after the location. We were lucky to get one of the volunteers that has been awarded the presidents award for volunteer hours. It's amazing when someone has 10,000 plus hours of volunteering in the system.
Overall a great place to stop, rest and chat with the hosts on duty

I drove quite a long way on the parkway this time. They are doing work on it so some areas of it have detours. I have in the past both drove the entire length and walked part of the original trail. The visitor center has good information about the Trace and an excellent movie.

Rode the trail yesterday and it was a great experience. Local community support was excellent. People on golf carts supporting and giving advice. Cold drinks and energy bars at one stop. Ate at Country Store in Algoma and was in for a treat on side of trail. Every one we met was friendly and seemed happy to have us there.
Huge park offers ancient rock formations & myriad flora species plus stocked lake, trails & camping.
Amazing little state park! It was well worth $2 an adult. We enjoyed our trip here and would definitely go again! They have a few historical informational markers, a swinging bridge, a lake with a fishing pier, camp bathroom, several miles of walking trails and amazing views from the ridges!! Loved it and will definitely return!!

WAY OVER PRICED. The pads are very narrow and in very poor shape. Most are on elevated pads with steep drop offs. It was literally a dangerous fall if I took one step past the end of my camper steps. My best friend is handicapped and has longer steps on his camper, so just plain dangerous. Our picnic table and BBQ were unusable. They were 100' away, and 30' down off of the pad, and the ground at the picnic table was so sloped that they put it longways on the slope so that it wouldn't tip over on someone if they put it sideways to the slope and someone sat on the downside. No fire rings, just circles of rocks, or none depending on the campsite. Reserved a week and could NOT stay more than one. Only one other camper in the entire campground and did not get a refund, just a voucher to come back. Highly recommend Piney Grove - MUCH better campground at basically the same price.

Beautiful lake. The newer premium full hook up RV sites are elegant! The regular tent sites and the older electric sites are nice. More trees. Older shower houses but they are adequate. Nice hiking trails. Very quiet in early January! Practically had the place to ourselves!

The park is beautiful and we loved our hike. We went in April and didn’t realize the bathrooms near the bridge wouldn’t be open. When we went back to the entrance we let them know their garbage cans were overflowing and blowing garbage around. We also didn’t think about ticks because of coming from the north where ticks weren’t out yet. Ended up finding one embedded in my hip so make sure to check.

Awesome park. Trails are pretty well-blazed, nice and wide. We even saw staff leaf-blowing the trail by the front office. There is quite a lot to see with trails running next to the creek or through Rocky bluff areas. The only complaint I have is that the office wasn't open and it would have been nice to browse a bit.
j. Keith — Google review
Completely enjoyed our stay! Everyone was so friendly! We were tent camping and accross from the dump station and pavilion. Apparently, the prior sewage problem has been fixed. The sites do have drop offs, but I wouldn't hesitate bringing our camper. But, we love hiking the trails and enjoying a relaxing night by the little lake. If you want a place to put out all of your yard toys, you have to go down an incline. Bathrooms could have used a bit more attention, but not horrible. The park has so much to see!

This is an amazing state park, and I hate that I was only able to spend a few hours there. I hiked the Saddleback Ridge Trail and the Flat Rock Trail. The Saddleback ridge trail is amazing; it is very well kept and just overall a great trail for a short hike. The Flat Rock Trail is much longer and not as well kept, and is also very treacherous near the beginning of the trail. The swinging bridge is also worth stopping to see. My only complaint about the park is the staff at the park entrance were not very friendly.

Semi disappointing. The park was run down and in desperate need of maintenance. There is a small fee for entrance which I understand and respect. But makes me wonder what the fee is for. Clearly it's not for upkeep. We didn't get to hike for the weather wasn't cooperating but we did look around.

A really nice state park tucked into the southwestern most part of the Appalachian mountains. Sites are spacious with water and electric hookups. The park roads offer a nice short 9 mile bike loop too. Located just a couple miles off the Natchez trace parkway. We had 1-2 bar 5g service with t mobile here.
My only nit is: it would be great to have recycling here. Downright crazy having to throw aluminum cans in the trash.

Update: I wrote my original review 1 week into our stay and we had 4 days left to stay. Our son came to stay with us and encountered a lady named Belinda which I learned was an office coordinator. She was very rude to him coming into the park. We have since encountered her twice more with the same attitude. She is very rude to people, it was not just us. I didn't say anything to her because it would have been pointless. When we came into the park we didn't see her and didn't go to the office until he came to visit. We inquired about the canoe rentals. I'm not sure why she comes across so aggressively or why she feels the need to be rude to people she has 2 minutes of contact with. If she hates her job or people in general she needs to quit or be replaced to somewhere she doesn't have contact with the general public.
We got an amazing spot in their newer section. This is such a beautiful park, everything seems pretty clean. The park rangers we're nice when we checked in ot needed something. We have hiked all the trails and the only one I've been disappointed with was Bear Creek where you cross over the swinging bridge. It's only because we passed so much trash it was disgusting. We hiked it twice just so I could clean up as I went. It's so beautiful out here and for people to toss their trash is a shame. Why go hiking unprepared to clean up after yourselves. I don't understand people's mindset that litter, don't be that person.

Water sports-focused park on Pickwick Lake with boating, fishing, swimming & rental cabins.
What a wonderful relaxing place to go fishing and fun with the family. I would definitely recommend to others. Great place to take photos off of boat. But might need water shoes in some places! My friends and family had a great day there!

We camped here recently in site 22. The campground is nice with full hookups on most sites. We had a great lake view from our site and plenty of room to roam. The downfall here is that the sites aren’t aligned with the picnic table and grills. This makes it difficult to know which area is yours. Our neighbor ended up on our table because it was directly behind his rig but our stairs led down to the table. The park should consider numbering these parts of the sites as well.
There are a couple boat docks and a marina here along with a lodge. We were able to get out in our kayak without issue.

A very nice park with pool access. My kids loved that. My smallest kid doesn't like swimming in the lake, which made having the pool close great bc there isn't much of a place to swim from the bank. We spent a night primitive camping, grilling (there is a grill provided), painting and whittling sticks. Once it got dark, there were no road lamps or otherwise so, It's important to remember to bring enough flash lights for everyone bc the roads aren't lit if you need to walk to the bathroom at night or just to get around your campsite at night in general. The restrooms were very clean and well stocked which says a lot considering it was a holiday weekend.
Christen Barker — Google review
The park itself is very pretty on the banks of Pickwick Lake. We stayed in one of the cottages. I have posted pictures of the cottage because it was hard for me to find any when I tried looking prior to our trip. Boat slips are $21 per day for the large slips or $6 per day at the smaller dock that’s closer to the cabins/cottages. We didn’t use the bathhouse. The pool is only open Thursday-Sunday and we checked in on Sunday so only had a few hours to use it. It was nice but could have used a little cleaning.
There is no WIFI anywhere in the park. There is cable television in the cottages. No stores within 20 minutes so don’t forget ketchup like we did.
Miniature golf was $2 per person I believe. The beds in the cottages were not very comfortable. Next time we will try to rent an rv to camp in . Other than that it was very peaceful and nice. Employees were friendly.

Typical SP as far as campsites, crowding, and roads. Very clean bathrooms and showers...heated and cooled, very near campsites. TN river was beautiful. Walkups are welcomed but get there early...this place fills up early in day. Reserve at least 2 days before you arrive to ensure a spot. Two loops of sites...big loop has spots right on river but way too crowded for me. Smaller loop very close to river and sites a little larger.

We just vacationed here a family of 4 for a week. We camped in our 42 foot RV. Overall it’s a nice place. Inexpensive. They have full hook-ups. Friendly staff. We brought our boat and they have boat slips available for rent that’s affordable. You aren’t able to dock your boat at your camper. We didn’t like having to pull our boat out daily so we rented a slip for $6 a day with power. Some parts of the park is run down. The mini golf is severely neglected. The ranger in the office didn’t charge us to play because of how bad is it. There is a fallen tree laying across part of the course. The pool is closed because of Co-vid. There is no swimming area at the park. There is nothing for kids to do. If you have Verizon phone service it’s very spotty. AT&T seems to work very good there. We are a fishing family so we went mainly to fish. I recommend getting up early for fishing because there are so many pleasure boaters in the lake from 10am to dark. The lake is a beautiful view! There are hidden waterfalls in the coves. My kids enjoyed seeing the wildlife hanging out on the rocks. The lake is full of fish, we caught bluegills, channel catfish, crappie, small mouth bass, large mouth bass, drum, shell cracker, yellow perch, and white bass. If you’re just going for the lake it’s a good price. It’s not a resort park.

We rented a cabin. We got one on the water and the view was perfect. My biggest complaint is that not all cabins have screen in or covered porches. Just so happens the one we were in did not have this. All would have been fine had it been a nice beautiful day but it was raining. We spend most of our time outside on the patio at home even if it's raining. I was not thrilled about having to sit inside. The other down fall, the beds are extremely worn out. I know the budgets for state parks is low but it was sad. We managed and enjoyed our time together but if there is ever a next time I will call to see which cabins have the screened in or covered porch option.

Wide-ranging collection of artifacts on railroading, the Civil War & more in a historic train depot.
The civil war is time to me only existed in books or as a child opening our encyclopedia and writing a report. Today we are parked at simple railroad location where once generals had set up their troops to keep supplies moving. It is just unbelievable to see such a large canon and think that this was made by hand rolled or pushed to locations. The museum tells such stories where reading a book just is not enough. Thank you for a great history class. PS there is a great BBQ restaurant just across the street called Bucks- order the ribs, and order the beans ‘fantastic’

I was amazed at the variety of areas that Corinth citizens have contributed - to the world. This museum shows Corinthians who contributed and represented food, poetry, travel, art, politics, aviation, tooling, and much more. I also discovered recordings of WW II people on their website. I hope to listen to all of those. Local history and railroading is also very well represented in the museum. The hostest was a pleasure to talk with and learn from.

Saw this after Shiloh. Very nice. Please note that the fountain is currently dry for needed renovations. Even so it is worthy of note. The movie and displays are quite nice as well and they have a nice set up for young rangers to explore. The rangers were also very welcoming and friendly. This center has a nice reference library btw for those seeking backgrounds on soldiers. They have the rampart set up adjacent to the building and memorial monuments from Texas outside on the hill as well. This place often gets overlooked in the shadow cast by Shiloh but they are actually linked and in fact, this battle was crucial to both sides in the conflict. Definitely worth a visit. The town is quite charming as well.

I'm a backpacker. I may get to do 3 good trips a year, if I'mlucky. That's really all time and money will afford. To scratch my backpacking itching between trips, I overnight at Big Hill Pond. I nice hike in to grassy point for the slow, relaxing evening. Come morning, hike on around McNatt Lake and up to the tower. It's a treat to hike to the tower for sunrise. Maybe a sip or two of coffee to get you heading back home. BHP is a little gem.

Gorgeous! A beautiful drive out from Somerville. A nice cruise through the trees as we made our way to the hiking area. Very well laid out trails, evidently marked and cleared. There is some rough terrain, as to be expected. Once you make it to the watch tower, it's worth the climb! We didn't get to go on the boardwalk through the Dismal Swamp because it was closed due to storm damage. When I asked about potential repair timeliness, they said hioefby Memorial Day, weather dependent. Super helpful staff and rangers, too.

There wasn't a dull moment the entire time. The view from the top is amazing. I might have spotted one piece of trash the whole hike. The bathrooms at the campground were definitely public outdoor restrooms but also very well kept. I will definitely be looking forward to another trip here for a longer duration.

My husband and I went on the BEST excursion ever! And it was only $20! Bill Hill Pond State Park held a Stargazing Float event on the pond and it was absolutely WONDERFUL and SO incredibly beautiful!!! We truly enjoyed it beyond words and need to do it again ASAP! I wish they would do it every month at the pond! (Every WEEK, really!) I can't say enough about it and would recommend ANY of their kayaking events, because their employees are so sweet, helpful and professional! It was definitely a great first impression for our first time ever at the park! The ONLY thing I'd recommend for next time is to provide signs directing people to the pond, because we went to the wrong body of water within the park and had to drive pretty far to find the pond, so we got there quite late, but they waited for us! ❤️ Other than that it was truly a PERFECT experience and we can't wait to do it again! 👌😍

Big Hill Pond is a very quiet park. We almost had it all to ourselves . We stopped at the visitors center since it was our first time there. The park ranger was super nice. There are a lot of hiking trails. We hiked the Dismal Swamp Boardwalk and it was beautiful. We made our way to the lookout tower. It was 81 steps to the top of the tower. The view was amazing from all directions. We made our way across the levee of Travis McNatt Lake. The fishing looked excellant on the lake. The campground was empty. It is primitive camping but you could park smaller campers there. Very nice campground but there are no hook ups. The sites were shaded very well. There is no swimming anywhere on this state park.
Shiloh National Military Park is an outdoor historical attraction showcasing Civil War battlefields and offering self-guided driving tours. The park is well-maintained and provides visitors with a deep sense of the past, including sights such as Corinth National Cemetery and Corinth Contraband Camp. Additionally, nearby attractions include Johnsonville State Historic Park and Tina Turner Museum @ Flagg Grove School in Brownsville.
Laid out like Gettysburg with canons in place, historical markers/monuments throughout the park of what happened where; the film in the Auditorium of the Welcome Center is worth seeing! Shiloh National Military Park is great! I love it every time I go, this time I got to bring my grandson. The park rangers are very helpful and knowledgeable. Check in at the visitor center when you first arrive. You're provided with a map of the park, listing all the important places. You drive through the park at your own pace. There are plenty of places to stop and take pictures & learn about the area.

This is hallowed round. What a breathtaking experience remembering such brave souls that died here. This history reminds us of what we should never embark upon again. I was honored to visit this place and look forward to passing this history on. I hope others that visit here experience this same memory as well.

Omg this is one of the most beautiful and profound areas around the area. I just moved to Memphis from California a couple months ago and this is what I imagined Tennessee to look like. Seriously gorgeous. Services are awesome, people nice, and gorgeous scenery. Worth a trip for sure!

The self-guided tour in the NPS app is great to listen to along with reading the more than 20 tour stop signs. It can be done without even leaving your vehicle.
But for those ready for a small stop, the self-guided tour and point you to where walk and see the sites yourself.

Shiloh is one of the best maintained National Military Parks in the country. It is hard to believe what happened here April 6 & 7, 1862. I try to visit every year.

Beautiful and fascinating look at American Civil War history.
A couple of the exhibits and monuments need maintenance or paint, but overall a beautiful and sobering experience. Plan on watching the film at the visitor center and set aside time for the driving tour. Download the National Park Service app for a guided tour.

We visited today. My suggestion is to watch the movie at the visitor center before taking the driving tour. It is very informative, and when you drive to see the places on the driving tour, you have an understanding of what happened where. The park is beautiful, well maintained, and everyone is very helpful. Plan several hours at a minimum.

We are so glad we took the time to stop to visit Shiloh National Military Park. The area of so much sadness is so well presented, paying respect to all fallen soldiers with beautiful monuments and well displayed historical artifacts. Very informative and very humbling.

The museum is closed for renovations but you can see an absolutely spectacular movie telling the story of the Battle of Shiloh. The grounds are open and fantastic!

Loved driving through and listening to the stories. It was raining and cold but we could stay in the car and still enjoy it. Went to the bookstore and found a couple of books. We didn't have time to watch the movie, but we will plan on it next time.

Almost twenty years in the making of taking a return trip to Shiloh. Really the only memory I have as a kid at Shiloh is of a cannon and trees. I finally had the chance and day off to go back down and go on a hike that was offered by the park. I went on Wood's Brigade Hike on Saturday, March 25th, with Ranger Timothy Arnold as the tour guide. The hike was estimated to last 8 miles and and take 6 and-a-half hours, we were finished roughly a little over 7 miles and took us about 4 and-a-half hours. I will say not bad, considering this was my first hike, I wanted to see if I could handle the distance, time and terrain. I have plans to go back when they have more hikes for the anniversary of the battle. Ranger Arnold was excellent and he knew the battle and land extremely well. I had been worried that the hike would be canceled due to the severe storms we had the night before, but to my and other's delight, the hike was still on. I know the pictures I took were not the best, but I wanted to be more in the moment than behind the phone. Shiloh is a really interesting place to be and visit.

We spent half a day here and have to go back. So much history, great rangers, and lots of info concerning the battles fought here. You simply learn more when you experience it, over reading about it in a book. The park is pristine and signage allows you to self tour.
And DON'T FORGET to visit the sweet couple in the Bookstore/gift shop across the road!... I'd love to go back with More time!

While visiting the museum we met Dottie. She works at the museum and gave us first hand knowledge about Sheriff Buford Pusser. Her brother was Pettie, one of Buford’s Deputies. She knew the whole family and was very knowledgeable about the history. She was wonderful to talk to and answered questions. The museum is well worth attending. Lots of pictures, articles and memorabilia. We also attended the gravesite and the jail where his office was. Walk Tall

I’m there as Buford and his deputies carry out jug after jug of illegal spirits during a Moonshine bust,,,,or at least I felt like I was as I wonder through the home, examining items along the way, of one of the most famous Sheriffs in American History.
It was informative, reasonably priced, and supports a monument dedicated to the memory of a great man.
Having written a great deal on the subject of Tennessee Sheriffs such as Marion Carson (Scott), George and Floyd Winningham (byrdstown) John Taylor (fentress), and a few others, I can assure you Tennessee holds a wealth of rich history regarding Law Enforcement.

April 1 2022 , we came y and visited the home of Buford Pusser. It was like a step back in time. The lady was very informative of Buford. We toured and see who Buford really was . Plenty of walking tall sticks and his Burnt corvette was in the basement, Lots of his old badges and ones that were given to him. I will say i am glad i stopped by and visited with him..

Great house museum and a TON of items people collected from his life as well as things on display with some Info. The ladies who worked there were friendly and informative. Initially you watch a 8 minute on Sheriff Buford Pusser. You’re then allowed to go freely inside the house upstairs and downstairs. There is the original car that Sheriff Buford Pusser crashed in. A gift shop is located downstairs with fair prices.

Me and my family stopped in on our way to Arkansas. It’s a step back in time to a era in the 60’s & 70’s. Real informative, the ladies offered a lot of information, the gift shop has a lot of items you can purchase. Also when your in town get a map and visit locations that happened during bufords time as sheriff. The jail in Selmer is like it was back in the day also. We had a real memorable experience! If your a walking tall fan this trip is a must!!

State park with horse rentals, camp sites & cabins, plus swimming & kayaking on Lake Placid.
It's really pretty here. They have lots to do and you can take great photos. Hiking, paddle boating, cabins, swimming, sitting, watching birds, they have a few cool prey birds too by the cabin check in. We had a lot of fun.

We enjoyed our stay in Cabin 6. It looked just like the photos online. It was nice with a beautiful view. Unfortunately, it did have roaches and ants. The trails were absolutely beautiful. Most were maintained well with the exception of the Owen Springs trail. There were several trees still down that had been laying for awhile and the trail was not marked very well. We ended up getting lost a few times on that specific trail. Everyone we encountered was very nice. The aviary was also nice to visit and see the birds with the kids since it is right beside the picnic area. They also enjoyed the playground and seeing the horses at the stables. This is a very beautiful park with trails. It made for a nice little getaway for a couple of days.

Chickasaw State Park is a lovely place to relax and explore. Cabin #1 was clean and well maintained. It's historic and a little on the rustic side, but beautiful. I especially loved the twin bedroom with the windows overlooking the lake and the rocking chairs on the patio overlooking the lake. The staff we encountered were friendly and professional.

Beautiful park that is well maintained!! The cabins look well furnished. Saw many families sitting around enjoying the bonfire pits and playground. The lake is crystal clear - which is rare to find in this area! Can't wait to come back and go hiking!!

Camped here twice this year with kids and enjoyed both times. The park and trails are maintained. Bathrooms were always clean. We did a 1 hour trail ride and our guide was sweet as pie and patient with the kids. Some tent spots are better than others. 109 is one of the best in my opinions because it backs up to the lake. In the summer, they have the perfect little sand beach and swim spot. The only thing that would make it better is if they had an actual restaurant or convenient store with needed items. You don't have any food options so pack what you need or drive several miles to the nearest grocery store. The cabins are also super nice. Overall, i would recommend.

One of my favorite TN State Parks to camp in. We have a TC and camp in the primitive camping area. Can literally step out the door and cast my fishing line. Plus, it's only 7 miles or so to Henderson, TN, if you forget anything , and the camp store isn't open.

Beautiful Park, Great Facilities and EXCEPTIONAL Camp Host.
We stayed here a couple of weeks ago and absolutely loved the park. The parking spaces were spacious, the amenities were clean and everyone was super friendly.
What took our experience to a whole new level and made THE difference for us was the camp hosts - Paul and Sharon.
Paul and Sharon were our "angels." They helped us tremendously in setting up our RV for the first time (we are newbies). Paul and Sharon gave us the tour of the area, were kind, gentle and knowledgeable with all aspects of camping. They are the reason we are coming back next March.
We arrived at the park as strangers, and within hours of being there, thanks to Paul and Sharon, felt at home. What AMAZING and beautiful souls they both are. We will always be deeply grateful for their help, guidance and support. Chickasaw is very lucky to have them. 🥰🥰💖💖

Got in too late to really take advantage of this beautiful park. All kinds of hiking, fishing, riding horses, and just enjoying outside. We camped in the rv section. Nice flat campsites. I have never seen cleaner and warmer showers in a campground! They have pictures on the bathroom walls! Definitely want to come back. Tuesday night, so it was very quiet.

This is one of the neatest nature parks I've ever been to. Went with a group and we had a blast. Enjoyed the paddle boats, the nature hike the staff took us on was really cool. Loved the view of the water and the picnic areas were perfectly positioned in the shade.
It was exceptionally clean from the grounds to the bathrooms.
This is a must visit. I will be visiting again God willing.

Very beautiful, plenty of things to do. We had a nice romantic picnic. The trails looked so very inviting, I wish I had had the ability to hike them. They also have horses to ride. Cabins you can rent. It's all pretty impressive. Absolutely loved it and will be going back soon.

Still one of the best State parks in the area. Camping, boating, hiking, swimming, and many other things are all right here in a relatively safe and clean environment with bath houses and full cabins. Prices are decent on rentals as well as camping spots and there is an aviary upon entry free to enjoy.

We camped here for New Years weekend in our new RV. While we don't have many other campgrounds to compare it to, we really enjoyed our time there and the park as a whole. The park was clean, quiet, and beautiful. I also stayed in one of the cabins when I was younger and remember having a great experience as well. There are a ton of activities to do there, but most were closed for the season. We are looking forward to visiting again during the spring/summer. Would highly recommend.

Visited for a wedding venue in a stone building with all stained wood interior. Was really excellent. Great vibe with a great backdrop. Only nitpick is the ceiling fans have seen better days, but they add to the charm.

I've been coming here since I was a kid and it's still one of the most beautiful state parks in Tennessee! We especially love it in the Fall. The reflection of the trees over Lake Placid is the view from the campground and it's nice to see while enjoying some campfire coffee.
1,200-acre park & history museum with Native American earthen mounds, trails & picnic pavilions.
A small Tennessee State Park focused on the archaeology of the native Americans. The museum ground level has space for the ongoing archaeological research in addition to a main floor that has a nice small museum. The grounds are well maintained, mapped, paved for the mobility challenged visitors, and signed. The mounds are significant. We counted 117 wooden steps to the top of the highest mound. The park exceeded our expectations.

Visitors center is under construction 12/2021. So a good portion of the exhibits and learning center are off limits till completion. But the trails and mounds can be seen and used only the picnic area restrooms are usable and not cleaned regularly.
It is still a must see if you are interested in this topic and the staff are very helpful.

Lots of paved trails and few nature trails, you can ride bikes on the paved path .The museum has a lot of artifacts and information about the mounds. The view from the top of Saul’s mound is worth the energy it takes to climb the steps. During the winter months the park closes at 5.

This place is beautiful. The museum has quite a variety to look at with the history to read about, too. They have a 20 minute film that we did not watch since our children aren't ones to really sit and watch. They have a nice picnic and playground area that we enjoyed lunch at before starting our walking. The Boardwalk is absolutely gorgeous this time of year and has beautiful cypress and beech trees everywhere. Sauls Mound is much bigger than you think, especially when walking up it. The view is completely worth the stop by itself. We did not get to explore the entire park but definitely enjoyed the time we had.
