Small waterfront park with picnic tables, beach access & views of landmark sea stacks.
Beautiful beach that is quite long for a walk or run. Almost all the sand is smooth wet sand so it is hard and you can wear shoes. The rock formations are very cool. It is best to go at low tide and see all the tide pools and creatures around the bottom of the rocks. One of the most beautiful beaches I have been on.
Kevin M — Google review
Face rock is the most bizarre and incredible rock formation I’ve seen on the Oregon coast. This viewpoint is sweeping and breathtaking. There are pit toilet bathrooms which are accessible. The parking is small and can fill up. There’s a trail down the bluff to the beach below. It’s steep but not unmanageable. One down on the sand, you can walk in both directions right along the rock formations. Sometimes the wind can make the blowing sand miserable. Still, this is a must see place on the Oregon coast.
Laurel Hoffman — Google review
A favorite spot on the coast to watch the waves crash against the sea stacks. Hope you can find "face rock". She's looking up and pointed to the right. It's also fun to watch the sand art from above if you happen upon that particular weekend.
Melissa Jones — Google review
Beautiful and easily accessible spot for viewing all the named sea stacks and beach below. There's a staircase that goes down to the beach itself. It was extremely windy the day we were there, so there was sand basically sandblasting everyone even up on the cliff above the beach. The wind was actually a little better down on the beach and there was less sand pelting us down there. Nice spot though.
Jennifer Anne — Google review
A fantastic little spot! The views were incredible, the beach access was easy to navigate and it was very clean. We especially loved seeing the rainbow colored rocks and will research more on the geology.
Heather Williams — Google review
Beautiful spot to stop in with the family and your pup! Ample parking and great views! There is a long staircase down to the beach, so unfortunately it’s not great for accessibility.
Jennifer Biggerstaff — Google review
Absolutely stunning. Bring sunglasses or regular glasses, eye protection of some sort and wrap up your hair in a hoodie or something. There is a lot of sand that blows about as it is very windy and without eye protection it can be difficult to enjoy the beautiful views from the beach. Sunglasses definitely made it more enjoyable. Our daughter has longer hair and a ponytail was not enough, she had to wrap her hair in her hood so that she could see. We had a kite with us and it was so fun. The plastic kites will shred here. We had a nice, durable fabric kite to play in the wind with and it was a very nice time. This is a beautiful place. A must see.
Shelley Prince — Google review
Beautiful windy place. Great spot to view whales. Very small parking lot. Lots of little caves and tunnels to explore. a short flight of steps and your on the beach.
Summer Simplym (SimplySummer) — Google review
Would be nice if the air more clear but my kids had lots of fun for running around.looking for rocks and shells 👍🏼

What a beautiful day it was in Bandon Oregon! Face Rock is an amazing place to go and see if you have never been here before. Especially on a sunny day.
Clift — Google review
Honestly my favorite Oregon coast! So many amazing views/rocks/rock formations/sea caves. You can walk the whole beach on the coast line. They even have a trail above it so you can see it up high. You can walk to other scenic points too! I got to see lots of different kinds of birds and best of all, sea lions!! The color on the rocks and the different types are amazing too! I can’t believe I’ve never heard or been here before
Josh Pease — Google review
Great spot to explore with kids or dogs! You can admire the view from above, or take the steps down the the beach. When the tide is low, you can get to a lot more. It was super windy, but sunny and fun to explore the caves and dunes.
Scott Tencza — Google review
An absolutely gorgeous location that is a must to stop by and check out, you won't regret it. The face rock is really something else when you see it in person.
Cayla vest — Google review
This was a fantastic stop. A little off the main road but absolutely worth it. Go down the stairs and explore. With any luck, the tide will be right and there will be an awesome labyrinth drawn in the sand. Also check out the caves!
Bradley van Middelkoop — Google review
Nice vacation stop for exploring beach sea life.
Worth visiting at least once.
Pay attention to holes in caves, there’s crabs and stuff :)
Vladimir Yasmenko — Google review
This beach is one we hit daily when we visit Bandon. The rocks are interesting, there are tons of shells, agates, sea glass, and interesting collectibles to be had. During low tide there are really good tidepools, and ocean animals like seals, murres, crabs, and gaper clams. The access area at the top has restrooms and parking, with a nice set of stairs down the cliff.
Rebecca Freeman — Google review
The special thing about this beach is that during the summer if low tide is between 6:00 and 10:00 AM a local group of artists create a huge, extremely creative labyrinth. Takes at least 40 minutes to walk. Different every time. Popular, so they have a shuttle from a nearby park, use it! Of course the beach and rocks are the usual stunningly beautiful.
Picturesque red-and-white lighthouse dating to 1896, open for visits during summer months.
It’s a nice drive to get there and a peaceful scenic walk up to and around the lighthouse with great views of the river, ocean and wildlife and a different perspective of Bandon.
Caleb Murphy — Google review
Coquille River light is a small historic lighthouse that traditionally guided ships in the night. It’s not the huge, towering lighthouse like Yaquina Bay or Heceta Head, buts it’s interesting nonetheless. The park and beach access makes a good stop to stretch your legs from a long drive.
Kevin — Google review
I'm visiting from Illinois and this was a nice little drive after being down on the beach earlier in Bandon. The lighthouse has an interesting story, and the view from this side of the river was really nice. It was windy, but at least the sun was out while I was there.
The lighthouse does do a tour, but I'm here during the off season so no tours yet. I'm sure if you are interested you can look up the website and it will give more information.
Be aware, if the tide is in and if there is any type of storm, don't go climbing around this area, it can be dangerous. There are signs posted to also stay off the jetty.
PS: if you are a geocacher there are some in and around Bandon.
Rhonda Birk — Google review
Beautiful scenic view. It was windy and cold. And we walked all the way to the broken Jetty.
Prosenjit Sinha — Google review
Cute old Lighthouse. Beautiful beach area. We were traveling the coast on vacation and came here on Friday afternoon.
They were closed when we got there around 2:30 which was frustrating.
But, cute little place.
Great ice cream close by in town at Face Rock Creamery.
Jill Hunt — Google review
It was a gorgeous morning, and the sound of the ocean was just relaxing. Was an hour early before the lighthouse itself was actually open for entry.
freddy mendoza — Google review
Beautiful spot! Easy path to the beach. Light house is cool, you can walk right up to it. 10/10 we will go here again.
Anny Ehm — Google review
Wonderful stop to make when in the area! We had a fun time wandering around and taking in the sights.
Melissa Churchill — Google review
My partner and I visited in the summer of 2021 and visiting the lighthouse was an amazing experience. So much enriching history. The doors are padlocked and you can’t physically enter the lighthouse but you can climb the steps to the entrance. It was windy and blowing lots of sand but nonetheless beautiful
itsbobbyopp — Google review
Super cute little light in Bandon, a little bit of a dive through a park but it's right next to a pretty big beach!
Danielle Williams — Google review
Beautiful place to walk. Driftwood is fun. Watch out for waves!
Karina Kay — Google review
Fun , no longer in service, lighthouse to visit. Easy to get to, free, and in the beautiful setting of the Oregon coast. It was crazy windy but didn’t spoil our experience. A must see in Bandon.
Todd I — Google review
I'm such a big fan of lighthouses. This is a nice little drive from hwy101 north of Bandon. This is one of the easiest access to a lighthouse I've come across on the coast. You drive right up to the parking area and just a very short walk you're there. Beautiful surroundings with wonderful views. If you're visiting the town of Bandon, this is one of the must do items.
Davin — Google review
It's a fair little drive off the main road to get here and phone reception is not the best. The lighthouse itself is okay but it's accessessable down to the beach (maybe not for elderly or disabled though as far as I can tell) and you can walk down the pier. You can really feel the power of the ocean here and it's a great view
Jimmy H — Google review
The lighthouse was very cute. There is a small visitor's center inside. You cannot climb up the tower but you can look up it through a gate. I know you can't control the weather but it is in a very windy location so if you try to walk out towards the beach, prepare for a lot of sand in your face. We were covered when we left. It is still beautiful but just plan accordingly.
Charlene Faulk — Google review
Really wanted to get some good Drone pics but it was way to windy I'll get some better pics next time but this is a fun spot to stop care full at the end of the jetty it is very slippery, definitely read the history I find that stuff cool, I almost didn't visit this one cuz it's so far south, but it has interesting historical relevance. The beach is nice, It seems to have a decent amount of drift wood heavy logs, and debris might have been the time of year. I'll dbl check when I drive the coast this summer. Some rolling style dunes so good hike to run a puppy on
Steve Bengtson — Google review
It was too dangerous to get across all the logs and driftwood to try to walk on the beach.

Cape Arago State Park
State park
Nature & Parks
Headland with sea views, a picnic area & cove trails leading to beaches & tidepools.
Both the North and South beaches offer amazing views. We saw deer roaming around and the whale watchers were in abundance. Easy to get to. We went on a Friday afternoon so parking and access were uncrowded.
Glenn Newland — Google review
Beautiful views along the way to the end of Cape Arago Hwy! There are a lot of viewpoints and even a cute little spot for a picnic. Even a bench to sit and read a book while overlooking the ocean. At low tide, there is a (steep) path that takes you down to the beach and to the tide pools. At one of the viewpoints, you can hear the sea lions! There are lots of hikers and families along this route, so definitely go the speed limit and mind your steps along the cliffs!
Cassandra Staten — Google review
Such a beautiful park, showcases the Oregon coastline. We saw some sea lions and the coastline rock formations are amazing, you can go down below and climb back up if you have the ability to do that. If not, the views are scenic. I recommend going to this place. The comfort rooms/washrooms were closed though when we were there temporarily. Expect strong winds and erratic weather since it's the coastline!
Mark Pua — Google review
Amazing, we lucked out, and there were hundreds of sea lions. It was so cool, and they were even closer than they were at the sea Lion caves. I don't know how often they are here on the rocks, but it was amazing to see them.
Levi Berry — Google review
We saw sea lions lounging on the rocks in the North Cove. Amazing view, huge feisty waves rolling on the shore.
Plumeria Bodhisattva — Google review
One of the most beautiful hikes I've been on. Gorgeous views and we saw seals and sea lions. Bring the family, binoculars, sunglasses, a hat, a good camera and a jacket cuz it's windy.
Amanda — Google review
Great views and tidepools on the south side. The path is pretty steep and only paved part of the way. Be prepared to maneuver a small path atop a 5 foot drop from cliff to beach and climb over rocks and logs.
Rachel O (Oregon Dill) — Google review
Visited on a cold, wet day. The waves at the point were fantastic!!
G Grubb — Google review
Beautiful. This entire area is gorgeous. We went at low tide, the "rough and rugged" coast did not disappoint! Much to see and do with a nice walking beach with easy access is near by. A don't miss when in the area. Much more to see near by with the Shore Acres botanical garden near by. We will be going back often.
Jodie Purviance — Google review
One word: “Beautiful”!
I was only able to see the very end, Cape Arago portion of the park. I hiked down to the ocean’s edge. Not advisable as there is a lot of loose gravel. Easy to slip and fall into rough waves and rocks. I did get some nice photos. Also, hundreds of seal lions close by. I enjoyed their barking.
Jerry Lucas — Google review
Awesome view points but the path to see the tide pools was blocked on the north side. There’s an island of sea lions off the actual coast like 1.5 miles out (not accessible) that you can see from one of the view points.
Lesly Lujan — Google review
Beautiful stop along our travel route. Gorgeous views.
c “cfl” lane — Google review
Cape Arago is a hidden gem! Seriously, I’m torn over giving it the glowing review it deserves or keeping it a secret for myself and other locals! It’s hardly ever crowded with tourists, but the sweeping ocean views are spectacular. It’s worth the detour off the 101 for sure, not just for it specifically, but for the stops along the way as well. If you have the time, there’s a short paved trail to a viewpoint of the seals and sea lions that is simply incredible. They have bathrooms but they’ve been closed everytime I’ve gone there, however there are flush toilets at sunset beach which is not far away on the same road. Most of the views are accessible however the sea Lion tail would be difficult to navigate a wheelchair due to the steep dips and bumpy old pavement. There are some really lovely picnic table spots right at the cliffs edge where you can listen to the barking of the seals and the crashing of the waves.
Laurel Hoffman — Google review
Very pretty and relaxing. Great place to picnic, if you watch for goodt weather.
Camille Adams — Google review
There is such good tide pooling in this park! We ended up spending most of our time here, it was fabulous! In addition to checking out all of the small critters, we also saw a gray whale, sea lions, and seals!
Kelsey C — Google review
Very cool place. Lots of areas to hike and great waves crashing into rocks on a stormy day!
Raymond E. Holliday — Google review
This place is beautiful, I would definitely suggest checking it out!! You could see the spouts of whales when looking over the ocean. What a beautiful place to be in the summer for sure!!
Coastal views, formal gardens & trails at day-use park open till dusk daily; no dogs & parking fee.
A very nice state park. I was there on a calm wave day but the views were still tremendous. The sandstone and unique geology of the this area is on full display here. Some good came out of the 1929 economic crash which forced the sale of this property to the state as this place is too special for a private residence.
Numerous hiking trails leave the park from the north and south connecting with the Oregon Coast Trail. All of my hikes revealed great vistas. Once you tire of the view from above, there is a trail to Simpson beach from the back of the gardens. It is a sandy pocket beach on the south edge of the park which offers some more great views.
George Scott — Google review
Beautiful view. The botanical gatden is awesome. The flowers were in bloom the first time we went. Took my brother and his family the second time and my son and his family the third time. Can never get tired of the place.
If you hike down the beach it is worth it.
Oh by the way, buy the taffy... it is the best I've had here in the mainland. Hawaii is still number one for me.
Merla Hawkins — Google review
This is a must see experience, especially during winter months when there are decorations, lights, hot cider, cocoa. The park is amazing and the sound of the waves crashing makes it extra special.
Rachel Borunda Jones — Google review
Perched on a scenic bluff above the Pacific Ocean, Shore Acres Garden was built in 1910 as a private estate with luxurious gardens featuring trees, shrubs, and flowering plants brought from around the world aboard the sailing ships of pioneer lumberman and shipbuilder Louis J. Simpson. A beautiful place to stroll around on a sunny autumn afternoon. Still lots of flowers in bloom to see.
Pen Jennings — Google review
Shore Acres has so much beauty to see! From the botanical gardens that boast beautiful roses, rhododendron bushes blooming to the sky, tulips, and all kinds of greenery (you can even have a wedding there!), to Simpson beach were you can find seashells smaller than a fingernail! Even on a cloudy day when the water is murky, it is still quite beautiful. There are many trails along the coastline to hike as well. It is $5 to park inside ($1s or $5s only, no change given) but well worth it to catch glimpse of chipmunks, deer, and even bunnies!
Cassandra Staten — Google review
Wow, such an amazingly beautiful park ! Stunning views of the rock formations. Great trails to view ocean. The botanical garden is wonderful to wander and take in all the plant life. The Japanese garden area is so serene.
Suzanne Hutegger — Google review
Super easy to book online, parking was plentiful. Short walk to get to the venue itself. There are plenty of places to explore and hike. We went there specifically for the light festival which was amazing. Free hot cocoa and cider inside the historic home which you can explore. The walk wasn't bad at all once there and we saw plenty of people in wheelchairs. Service dogs are only allowed. The gift shop however was generic and expensive.
Angel Evans — Google review
This is one of my most favorite places to visit on the entire Oregon Coast. The gardens are spectacular in every season, most especially Spring and Summer. The views of the Pacific and the waves crashing onto the boulders and cliffs are always worth seeing, especially as the tide is coming in and also during big storms, just make certain to prepare by wear appropriate clothing and gear or it's going to be a miserable, soggy trip home.
April Morris — Google review
Shore Acres is an Oregon state park treasure. It’s a must see if you’re in the Coos Bay Area especially for gardeners or flower lovers. The best time to visit is in the late spring or summer when flowers are in bloom. It’s also worth a visit around Christmas to see the lights.
There is a lot of history to the grounds and you can learn from the sign posts or the staff giving presentations.
The photos of the grounds and plants speak for themselves. Outside of the gardens there is a viewing platform and a great view of the ocean.
Ryan Ebert — Google review
The lights are beautiful and fun. They have action lights of marine animals and other critters. I try and make it a point to go and visit for the weekend every year. I've been going for over 10 years and plan on continuing. The caretaker cottage is beautifully decorated. They offer a cookie and cider.
William Nachand — Google review
Beautiful and well kept.
We just spent some time walking around and did not use any facilities.
It was a long drive in.
It's a "been there done that" sort of place but nice to visit once.
Barb Simmons — Google review
In 1907 Louis Simpson began building his first mansion on the bluff as a Christmas present for his wife Cassie. In 1927, six years after Cassie Simpson died, Louis and his second wife gave the Cape Arago portion of the estate to the state of Oregon. In 1942 the Simpsons sold the remainder of the estate to Oregon for the development of a public park. The rock formations in the bluff is truly unique. Shore Acres garden is worked on by volunteers, what a gift! We visited at just the right time, where we can see the light green shade of new grass and new leaves, and the Rhododendrons and Azaleas are in full bloom. There are many paths to explore, the longest one goes to Sunset Beach. It was lovely to sit in the garden. In the UK, there would be a cafeteria where we can enjoy tea and elevenses. When I first discovered Shore Acres on Google, I had no idea we'd be able to spend such a lovely time walking around and exploring. This is going on our must visit list for next time.
No MSG No Garlic Foodie — Google review
Beautiful park with natural beauty. We drove through on our way to the viewpoint. We stopped at the gift shop that offered a wide variety of souvenirs and trinkets. The public restroom was available, but a fairly long walk from the gift shop itself. Not what one would call handicap accessible with the long walk on uneven sidewalks. Just up the road is viewpoint for watching sea lions and seals, as well as other wildlife and birds.
Donald Peck — Google review
This is a beautiful State Park where you can take in all the sights of the Pacific Ocean shoreline, relish in the serenity of the Siuslaw National Forest, Camp, Hike, capture amazing wildlife photos and more. They have amazing gardens with thousands of plants and trees from all over the world. They also have an impressive Christmas Light Display that is fun for all ages. I strongly recommend checking it out.
Shane H — Google review
This place is great. The light displays were magnificent and very professionally done. About halfway through, they had hot cider and coffee and chocolate chip cookies. It was beautiful and a lot of fun
Kevin Nice — Google review
Shore Acres us beautiful in every season. My favorite is the holiday light display. It's a family friendly event with complimentary cookies and hot cider, hot coffee, and punch.
Their new reservation system helps alleviate overcrowding.
The light display is the highlight of our Christmas celebration.
Oregon Coast Beachcomber — Google review
We took the shuttle to the Holiday lights from the Charleston Marina because parking was sold out. It was free! So worth it. The lights were totally amazing this year! Thank you to all the people and sponsors who made it so amazing.
Lyle Hruda — Google review
Wow! I saw seals, Sea lions, otters, and surfers. Made me jealous. The waves were absolutely humongous and the ocean was beautiful. The big spruce, firs and pines are amazing. Great place to spend time with your family and they even have a great Beach.
Rickey Ormiston — Google review
Just Beautiful!!!
Was there for The King Tide.
Would love to return in the future and see more of it.
If you're in the area, stop by. You won't be disappointed.
21-acre walk-through zoo with Bengal tigers, snow leopards, capybara, emus & a petting area.
Wow. They have so many animals! This is actually a pretty neat experience! The animals are so beautiful. The animals are close up, so you don’t need to try to find them like at other zoos, and they have a neat experience where you can even learn about and pet certain animals they bring out during their show and tells! Definitely a fun experience! We came by this place by accident, and glad we stopped by! The staff are really knowledgeable and very kind as well.
Julia Riley — Google review
The ANIMALS were amazing. And the STAFF was super friendly and GREAT. But... The condition of the park was SO sad... The tigers cage had a snapping electric fence wire, I'm pretty sure the electric wire on the Lions cages were actually dead. The poor elk had absolutely no grass to eat... And ALL the animals cages needed a SERIOUS cleaning... It was SO depressing...
Jamie L — Google review
I looked forward to the experience… but honestly the animals looked really sad. And some looked like they were way too skinny. I love walking around the deer… that’s was cool. I don’t think some of the animals have enough space to live well and have an active life. The park does allow you to pet small animals with supervision (that you would normally not encounter). The staff appeared to be knowledgeable.
smile smile — Google review
We found the flyer at a hotel, though it would be fun to stop on our way up to Depot Bay. LOTS of goats to feed. But fun. We must have hit nap time. Most of the animals were not out to see.
Keelly Pierce — Google review
The staff were knowledgeable and friendly for the most part. Seems like the park is underfunded. A lot of the enclosures seem to be the originals from the 50s. Dilapidated for sure. None of the animals look happy. It's a cool place to stop if you like seeing depressed animals, or if you have kids. The kids won't notice.
Samuel Muraski — Google review
Was really fun! The staff is really nice. We came to see the capybaras. Very cute! Just be careful for the goats if you have food😅 They have a lot of animals that you can feed and the bears will do tricks for some food. Really cute and fun overall!
Anela Ruiz — Google review
Awesome place been there many times. Very clean, amazing animals and wonderful staff.
It’s awesome that they bring in rescued animals with injuries or other, and give them a wonderful home.
damon johnson — Google review
Was a fun little stop. You can get cones to feed the animals and they will horde you till your kid drops it in fear. My daughter loved the chimp as it makes faces back at you and is also know to fling poop at people he doesnt like. Worth the stop
Untapping The West — Google review
We had a great time yesterday at the Safari Park. I could have stayed and interacted with this beautiful 4 month old Jaguar and 5 month old brown bear all day! The handlers are very educated and have extensive knowledge of the animals. The memories and pictures are worth the price. I have been here atleast 5 times and its great. The animals are NOT pacing in their enclosures like I have seen at other zoos in California. They seem peaceful. You always see the workers involved and cleaning out their habitats. Take your family here for a unique experience.
Mindy Peppers — Google review
I do not recommend visiting. Most of the signs for the animals are so faded and worn that you can not read the information. Many of the animal enclosures are empty. The prices on the website are outdated. The senior price was $21.50 plus a $2.00 processing fee. Not worth the money. Go to the Wildlife Safari in Winston, OR. The best part was listening to the male lion grunt and learning about the black Jagurier.
Cheryl Holmes — Google review
The Assistants were nice. The Manager was rude. So rude that in a random conversation the next day an 8yr old happened to mention "the lady that was rude".. The animal's are in small pens; not a roaming preserve.; there is no room for them to run. Animals that are prey are in sights of predators. The signs were outdated, faded, and unreadable.
I know it is difficult to care for these animals, year long, and to get help with adequate trained staff. This place needs help.
Mark Schaffner — Google review
I don’t understand the bad reviews. My family had a great time! Employees were very attentive to the animals and seemed to really love them. We watched as one of the camel babies was loving on one of the employees. It was really sweet. They all seem to love their job. The park was clean in my opinion. There are numerous goats and deer that walk with you through the park which was such a great experience. So the droppings were expected. The price I thought was very fair considering that the money goes straight to the animals and to maintain the park. Overall I thought this was such a fun experience and would return 100 percent if we pass thru the area again!
Hanah — Google review
Absolutely disgusted with this place. It was filthy. All the animals living conditions were horrifying. You had a monkey with a tumor and sores all over his butt. The big cats were nothing but skin and bone. It was extremely sad. And I would never recommend to go here especially if you love animals it will just make you turn them in for animal abuse.
Shelby Raish — Google review
This place needs funding! Send people! The animals look in poor shape. But the staff was extremely friendly, however, seemed understaffed. Getting to pet the nursery animals was awesome. Their prices have risen significantly since I went there years ago when it was booming with people. When we went it seemed like we had the whole zoo to ourselves this time.
Angel Evans — Google review
I have Seen many zoos of this size but this was so impressive and in your face. Totally worth seeing if your on this side of the country.. big cats and bears 10 feet from you
So impressive.
Saleem Fernandez — Google review
Nice little safari for the family. They have small deer, goats, lo g-horn sheep, and and peacocks walking freely around that you can feed. They have a couple of bears, monkeys, lions, leopards, camels, bison, elk, zebras, ostrich, lamas, a porcupine, and a few other animals.
Shari Smith — Google review
We've come here a couple times, and enjoyed it each time. Love the personal interaction with the animals. There was a monkey there that was hilarious when we went. He had a hose, and would hide, then jump out and spray people with it, then acted like he was laughing. 😆Our kids loved it.
Northern girl — Google review
Just as awesome as I remembered. A fun reasonably priced family friendly outing. All of the animals were out and interactive. We had loads of fun!
Prehistoric Gardens is a small but well-maintained tourist attraction featuring lifelike dinosaur models set in an ancient temperate rainforest. The attraction offers visitors the opportunity to explore a carefully painted path that winds past bubbling creeks and lush ferns, all while surrounded by hanging moss and the sound of falling rain. This is an ideal destination for families with young children who will delight in seeing the dinosaurs up close while getting some exercise in the great outdoors.
This is the second time we've been here and our son absolutely loves it. It's a nice little place to take your kids and let them run around along the path and see the dinosaurs. If you're passing through, it's a nice place to stop off and let your kids get some energy out.
Brian An — Google review
So as we were coming down the MTN on our bikes we decided to stop in and check this place out. It is a cute little walk through the forest with a bunch of different dinosaurs and with signs to talk about them and give you a little educational knowledge. We think it is a great place to stop if you have kids with you.
Team Ultimate Exposure William & Bug — Google review
Absolutely love this place. The trees around you and your imagination could bring you in the past. The sculptures are adorable and weird at the same time, but both effects are cool to experience. Could be great if there would be some sound effects.
Anna Solodova — Google review
Waaayy too expensive, but at the same time, worth a stop? The walk is short and flat, so anyone can manage it. The website says the artist consulted with scientists to ensure the dinosaurs are realistic, which is half the fun when you see their derpy little faces. Informative boards are sporadically placed along the trail, so it is semi educational. Gift shop is spendy, but we still ended up happily paying $170 for 4 tshirts and 2 stickers. This will be a highlight of our trip.

It was a bit over 30$ total for our family (2 adults and one child aged 9) to purchase admission to the prehistoric garden. Its a neat thing to see if you spot it whilst on a trip and just pull over on a whim but to be honest the "prehistoric" garden is no different than seeing native Oregon forest. This is not a good idea if you need ambulatory assistance as the entire route is rock/gravel and at times narrow.Your are told rules once you pay one of which is you can't touch anything! They included leaning and grabbing onto.It isn't something you should plan as a trip to go see save your money and find a forest. The dinosaurs are kind of cool for the kids but it's not helpful they the kids can't touch them which really bums kids out.
Regardless of weather I'd recommend heading to seaside Oregon even better if you can stay a few days to relax and check out everything.

Fun for all ages! We arrived just 20 mins before closing time but the owner was so kind and told us not to worry about it. This park is an outdoor walking tour type with a trail. There are huge dinosaurs throughout hidden and not so hidden with fun facts about each. What we loved most was how authentic it would have felt to be in the woods so many millions of years ago, the plants and trees felt millions of years old. Kids ages 2-8 all had tons of fun and they didn’t get tired at all walking. If it’s raining, the park does offer umbrellas and strollers for guest use at the entry. Nice gift shop at the end. Definitely recommend!

We have wanted to take the kids here for years, and finally got the opportunity. It is a bit of a drive, but it was worth it. We were expecting a cheesy tourist trap, but it turned out to have lots of good educational signs giving information about ancient flora and fauna. There are enough displays to keep the family busy for a good hour, and a lovely little gift shop. Worth trying at least once!

Awesome, it’s a trail walk you can take as much time as you’d like and there’s a lot of little benches and photo spots throughout.

Visited on a rainy weekday in early March and had the whole place to ourselves. This attraction is small but well kept, and in the rain and solitude, magical. The rain fell through dense forest onto carefully painted dinosaurs and a well maintained path that meandered past ferns and over bubbling creeks. We made imitation dinosaur noises and heard the echos through the trees. My son loved this place so much.

This was a spur of the moment stop on our way back from California. While it was a bit pricey, it was a super fun and educational trip through the age of dinosaurs.
Conveniently located off of highway 101, there is ample parking as well as fun statues and animal attractions in the front of the building.
Inside, the heavily wooded pathways take you around some very old and giant trees and scenic creek beds with fun bridges to cross over while exploring the dinosaur exhibits.
There is a lot of great information along with the really well done statues of dinosaurs along the way. I have included some photos to show. It doesn't take a super long time to finish, but it is worth a trip to experience.

This place is so with the stop on our vacation in Gold Beach oregon.
Very cool.
Watch out for the prices in the gift shop. A $15 t-shirt was $40, but they had cool stuff

Stopped here real early in the morning and they were of course closed as expected but had some fantastic statues out front. Would have waited for them to open but was on a time crunch. Will definitely be back when we have more time.

About $15 for a great stop with some life size friends! Pets aren't allowed but kids are
... Short trail with truley amazing works of art made in the 50's! Very informative and a great adventure to be in nature experiencing their natural habitat rather than inside a museum! The plants are even specifically curated to the animals timeline!

I wish I had visited as a kid. This place is delightful and I had no idea. Please stop as you're driving 101. There is admission, $14 for adults and I think $10 for kids. It's worth the stop just to be in the forest with these magnificent statues!

Nice roadside stop ...you should go at least once every generation. I didn't go in but my adult son did. I walked around outside and enjoyed the babbling brook and beautiful plants and mushrooms
Twistedhippie — Google review
What a fun place tucked away south of Port Orford. Some may think it is kind of cheesy, kids will absolutely love it. Very well maintained so it isn't a trashy roadside attraction. Cost for Adults was $14 each which was not crazy, but it was worth the hour we walked the beautiful trail and had some fun with the Dino's. If you have kids this is a great stop, adults will have a great laugh too. It is worth a stop if you have never stopped before just to admire the great forest area and creative Dino's they have put together.
I love this place... They always have the cutest seasonal decorations. I can always find a gift here, not to mention their chocolates & treats are delicious! Plus at check out they give you little samples in your bag.
The people there are always so friendly and helpful as well. Makes for a pleasant shopping trip!
Krystal Ward — Google review
Always stop in whenever we're in town! Love the variety & the employees are always so friendly & helpful! Love getting the bags of "trim" - they're a bargain compared to the same product in a gift box! Also love all the samples so you can try a flavor before committing to buying something. While checking out, I was asked if these were gifts when I said "yes", she promptly wrapped my purchases! It's that extra touch that keeps me coming back!

Hands down one of the friendliest people I’ve ever met working here. When I walked in I was immediately met by a very friendly Peruvian woman. We talked about how the candy was made, our pasts, and all sorts of things for some time. I loved the samples and if there was something I wished to try that had no sample- she would open one so I could try it. I ended up spending more money than I had planned, bit it was absolutely worth it!

Loved this shop. Employees were very helpful, saw candy and stuff being made right there in the back of the store. Samples of anything really made a difference on my purchases. A must do next time I come through town!!! So worth it! Out of this world chocolate!

Kind of out of the way but definitely worth the drive. Samples everywhere and if there was something you wanted to try, just ask and they gave you a sample. Delicious chili late. The Big Foot was very tasty. Yummy popcorn with 10+ varieties. And did I mention tons of samples!

I've been there twice in the last month. When they have their Boo Boo's, those prices are great. Unusual treats and candies. Right now, the shop is decorated wonderfully for Christmas. Speak with Ann if you need anything special. She's super attentive and most helpful! A definite visit for the holidays or anytime you need a special and different gift or treat for yourself! :-)

Absolutely a sweet tooth heaven.
I miss not being able to sample things that I don't know if I'll like, however, I also know what I do like so... No problems there.
They do give pre packaged samples at check out though.
Love this place. I'm from Eugene and I visit every time I'm in the area.

Our little group spent roughly 30 minutes in here! (And about $150 between two couples!)
We bought so much candy and also some soaps and a card by a local artist. They had an abundance of samples out for us to try which definitely influenced how much we bought lol. I would absolutely consider ordering online in the future! It was that good.

Luv they have little packages for a couple of bucks💝 so I could get several different things I liked.. Don't miss it!!

There were a lot of tasty treats to choose from. Plenty of options from taffy to chocolate and jelly beans. I think everyone in the family could find something to enjoy. The production is right in back of the store. It would be fun to see them work through the windows but we went in on Sunday when they weren't making anything.

Sights & Landmarks
19th-century white brick lighthouse with adjacent Coast Guard museum, tours & gift shop.
We showed up to do a tour and it was closed due to maintenance. The museum host was very gracious and hosted us the next morning. It was a very informative tour with many interesting facts about this specific lighthouses history and the Oregon coasts other lighthouses. Very much enjoyed the 45 min tour in the lighthouse as well the museum. The info just on how the glass lens technology was developed justified the time. Worth the time and small cost!
Michael Olejniczak — Google review
This light house is so unique to the others I've been to in Oregon. You are able to go inside the lens unlike other tours. The tour guides are passionate about their tours and are interactive with their group which is always so fun. The museum has tons to explore and I will definitely be back to see this one at night as it gives off a beautiful red which I've never seen before. Can't wait to visit again!
McKenzie Stewart — Google review
The Umpqua River Lighthouse is a great stop for so many reasons! First, the TOUR. The tour is terrific! I think the cost was $8 per person and for that we got both a guided tour and the opportunity to explore their museum at our own pace. The museum had multiple rooms filled with history on both the lighthouse and the Coast Guard. It was an interesting place to explore and it gave us some context for the building we were about to see. The lighthouse itself was beautiful, but the most amazing part was at the top of the stairs, where we could actually stand inside the revolving lens! I’ve been to many lighthouses and I can honestly say I’ve never had that experience. Plus it’s a very rare red Fresnel lens, so bonus points! Our tour guide, Mike, was incredibly knowledgable. He was full of fascinating facts and stories. We probably could have spent another hour talking to him, but he did have other tours to get to. :) Beyond that, you have the view, which is gorgeous. We stopped at one of the benches and ate our lunch overlooking the sand dunes, forest and ocean beyond. They also have a great little gift shop were you can purchase souvenirs or even grab a light meal. It’s an all around wonderful stop that you don’t want to miss!
Lynette Ertel — Google review
Definitely a cool place to visit. The lighthouse is well maintained, in wonderful condition, and it’s unique 1-red 2-white beam shines 24hrs a day. I highly recommend taking the lighthouse tour, very historically informative and you’re guided to the top! We visited 2 years ago and I failed then to take the tour, and I vowed to return, and we did last Wednesday. Also, great museum and gift shop…food is available at the gift shop too. I wanted to try the chowder, but was too full from earlier breakfast.

I have toured many a lighthouse and this is the best tour. You can climb into the lightroom while it is operating and see the 1st order fresnel lens.

Cool lighthouse. Able to get great photo on the inside. Interesting history tour. One of the multiple lighthouses on the Oregon coast one needs to see.
David Neely — Google review
I loved the lighthouse. You can tour it and the cute museum for $8. Small tours, informative. The museum was well worth the time too. I learned much about signaling, and the lives of coast guard. Well worth a stop on the way to the beaches and dunes.
Liane Lau — Google review
Really cool thing to see. The Coast Guard maintains the lighthouse and there is a great Coast Guard museum onsite as well. You get a bird's eye view of the jetty and the bar. No boats going either way on this visit! The swells must have been close to 20 feet tall.
Bill McMillan — Google review
Highly recommend the light house tour. You can pop your head into the upper area and see the beautiful ruby and white lens. It took my breath away. The gift shop has wonderful cookies and other desserts.

There is some beauty to be found here in a short break from a coastal drive. One thing missing in Oregon's smaller roads are restrooms. This attraction has some right at the parking lot. It's pay-to-park but my National Forest Pass did the trick. The walk up to the keeper's cottage is nicely maintained and a reasonable slope.
My family and I came out from WA state to experience n explore the Oregon Dunes @Spinreel for both my Sons Birthday. My family and I had such a great time and most definitely be back to experience it again.
We did the two hour tour. Our Tour Guide Wyat gave us an experience we will never forget. He was awesome and ensured we experienced and explored all the Dunes. It was beautiful and exciting climbing and going down the Dunes. Breath-taking ocean views. What a rush♡♡ thank you Spinreel and special thanks to Wyat for making this family Birthday trip my family will always remember ♡

Such an amazing place! I own group homes for adults with disabilities. I brought my clients to the area for vacation and thought it would be fun to take them to the dunes. They had a blast and the staff were so accommodating to my individuals. I would recommend this place to anyone. There is nothing like riding a dune buggy on the beach. Great place with truly unbelievable staff.

We came here on a Saturday at 1 and it was not too busy. The staff was super friendly and got us geared up to go! Two hours was a perfect amount of time for the two of us. The polaris razor had navigation for us to find our way back to the rental shop. We just wish we wore ear plugs. Since it was Easter, we found an egg and got some free ice cream! Super nice touch!

We had a blast doing this! We brought our dog along which was welcomed, but he probably would have preferred to stay home. The staff was super friendly, helpful, and informative about the area we would be exploring. These dunes are one of the greatest playgrounds in the world. The equipment was top shelf, grade A condition as well. The place runs like their well-oiled machines! A great family-owned business to spend an few hours with.

Highly recommend adding this place to your travel plans! We had the best time and this family owned and operated team was amazing. They even were nice enough to upgrade us to the turbo RZR. We can not say enough great things about them and the experience
Kelsey Prins — Google review
First and foremost, the people working at Spinreel were extremely nice. The man working behind the counter was super understanding and patient.
The beach was very fun and so were the dunes, even though we spent less time there. When I tipped over on the dunes, we called and they helped right away.
They made sure I was okay and safe before checking the vehicle and then helped us from there. It was a unique experience that I really enjoyed and would totally do again!!!
Elizabeth Levins — Google review
Me and one of my friends rented a 2 Seat RZR Turbo S for one hour and had so much fun! The employees have you watch a safety video first, they they look over the vehicle to make sure nothing is wrong with it before you take it out. If you encounter any issues during your rental, they give you contact information and a map to find your way back. I would 100% do this again if I’m ever in the area! Thanks Spinreel for a fun time!!!
Karen Kendzierski — Google review
WHAT A BLAST!! Spinreel was such a cool company to work with. Such a gem. Family owned and operated local spot that’s been there for decades. It’s directly across from paths leading to the dunes and the beach. Can’t get a better location, honestly. All the vehicles were full of gas, permitted and ready to go when we got there. Made such a cool experience very easy. They really go through the safety of the land features and make sure you’re aware of how best to navigate the landscape on your ATV / buggy and of any route closures/weather changes. You don’t need to have experience to have a good time. I didn’t have much practice on 4 wheelers and really enjoyed it! Plus they have the two-seater buggy’s for anyone who doesn’t want to drive the whole time or wants to go with a partner. Those are also more stable. They also have a ton of outerwear merch for sale if you need a sweatshirt or something (which you will, the windchill makes it pretty cold on the dunes even in summer!)
Hallie Walsh — Google review
I had an amazing experience here. All the employees were helpful and kind. They explained the terrains perfectly ,so we knew exactly where to go. The safety video was really informative as it was our first time on the dunes. The location is very close to the dunes which is ideal. They also had lots of options to choose from.

We rented a 4-seat RZR and did the Follow Me Tour. Our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. He let us switch drivers when we wanted. We saw gorgeous scenery and had an awesome time. We were glad we did the Follow Me Tour rather than renting the equipment and going on our own. I don't think we would have gotten to see and do as much on our own as we did with a guide.

Safety first! There was enough information between emails, online and in-person orientations to make my head spin a little bit, but it all made sense once we got onto the trails and dunes. It wasn't cheap, but my family did a 2-hour self-guided excursion and had so much fun! The 4-seat, 1000cc Polaris RZR machine was plenty powerful but safe, sturdy, and had very good suspension so the bumpy trails were not bad at all. We spent more time driving on the beach than anything, and it was amazing! We spent about the last half hour on the dunes, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. If you're in the area, riding the coast and dunes in an ATV is a must!
Discover the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, an ideal destination for off-roading and hiking enthusiasts. This stunning location boasts 40 miles of wind-shaped sand dunes and offers campgrounds for visitors to enjoy. Take time to explore this beautiful area before embarking on a scenic drive up the coast on Highway 101. For those seeking adventure, there's a challenging 4.
For a first time visitor, it is actually quite hard to find the dunes. We happened across the visitor center in Reedsport, after driving many miles South from Florence. The center was closed, but lo and behold an angel appeared from within and gave us suggestions and directions to two locations that were awesome. One to the South of Windy Bay and the other on the John Dellenback dunes trail. They offered different perspectives but we're both amazing in their own right.

There are so many activities that are offered here. One of my favorites is mushroom picking. You can pick up different types of permits to pick mushrooms or greens throughout the area. They offer maps and help you with locations as to where you might have the best luck to find what you are looking for. The staff is very knowledgeable of the area.

South Jetty - This was a fantastic area for me and my family in our Jeep to discover! Wide enough areas with many levels of dunes. I saw a lot of safe riding and it it was pretty empty for a summer Sunday.
I recommend bringing a map if it's your first time out cuz there's a lot of fingers to the dunes here. There were even areas to do some mudding! Be aware of the tide tables if you venture over the last dune onto the beach. Don't forget to air down and bring/mount your flag!

The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area extends for 40 miles along the Oregon Coast. They run from Florence to Coos Bay. Bordering the Pacific Ocean, you can drive a dune buggy or quad bike on the beach as well as the sand dunes. We had a blast riding up and down the dunes before heading to the beach to cool down. Woo hoo! A great day if you're looking for an adventure 😀

Beautiful place to spend some time. The large loop trail 4.5 miles is quite strenuous since most of it is through soft sand. Near the sign in station a 1 mile gentle grade firm trail goes down to dune level. It has lovely picknic tables with amazing views.

Always fun to ride.
Just wish when it's busy that most people would realize it's better to ride to the right of the main road from bull run to spin reel and again on the road to the right of the main oe on the way back. There could be less head on collisions if people could ride this way more often. Lots of area to ride!

This great expanse of dunes and beach is a prestine wilderness. At least when we went in early autumn. Cold and windy. The scenery of these massive dunes (climbing some 60 feet) with the beach and sea below is a spectacle.

We visited two sections of the sand dunes from Florence OR, make sure you pick up a map upon entering. Great place to get some steps in and view these massive sand dunes. You can rent vehicles from an outside company to ride thru the dunes if desired. I just enjoyed the nature trails and flowers along the way! Bathrooms and steps are in good condition. Great parking, they do check your car for a paid pass. Dont be cheap and end up paying a fine. Its a park, do the right thing..

3 of us booked a full day rafting trip with Morrisons Rogue Wilderness. They offered the options to use the inflatable kayaks (duckies) or riding a raft with others. We had a great time. Our guide, Mika (I hope that’s how he writes his name-sorry 🤭) and all the other guides are super fun guys to be on a trip with. They will walk or raft :) that extra mile for you and your family, friends so you have an outstanding experience on the river. They know the river very well and you feel totally comfortable and safe with them -even with younger kids. Especially if you are a first timer we highly recommend them so you have a great experience with professionals! We had so much fun! Thank you for it!

We are 100% doing this trip again soon… Guides were all (5) amazing, lodges were warm and inviting and the food was fantastic. Tip of the hat to Morrison Lodge staff and Chef Matt, this young man is an excellent chef. You’ll understand why I’ve called him out after your first experience. Our river guide Andrew Serda… Best I’ve had on any of the many (Oregon, Alaska, Calif.) river trips I’ve had over the past 40 years. Never felt more safe and on the fish, like we did w/ Andrew.
See you again in 2024 !

This was my first whitewater rafting experience! I tagged along with some friends on a 3 day, 2 night rafting trip and was not disappointed. The food was fantastic, and they took care of everything for us. This is the way to relax! Our guide was Greg, and he was very experienced, friendly, and helpful. Going through Blossom Bar was probably the most intense part for me, but Greg navigated us through it with ease. All the other guides were amazing as well: Rip, Mackenzie, Marcus (who did an amazing job on the meat!), Christian, and Nick. I highly recommend booking a trip and hope to return in the not so distant future! Thank you Morrison's for a fantastic adventure and experience!

We recently did a half day trip on the Rogue. The outfit served a nice lunch before departure at their scenic lodge. The guides were very seasoned and knowledgeable about every nook in the river. Our rafting trip with Morrisons Rogue Wilderness Adventures was nothing short of extraordinary! From the start, the team at Morrisons left no stone unturned to ensure that our adventure was impeccably planned and executed. Whether you're an experienced rafter or a first-timer, they cater to every need.
Our guide Ryan was the perfect blend of knowledgeable, attentive, humorous, and cautious. He lead 2 other rafts at the same time. His love for and knowledge of the Rogue River made the trip all the more fun.
The rapids were perfectly suited for beginners, and the option to solo kayak added an exciting touch of challenge for those seeking it. I definitely made use of it and highly recommend it. Our children, aged 6 and 9, had the time of their lives! Watching their faces light up with joy and excitement was truly priceless.
We saw Ospreys soaring above us and turtles on the shores. We jumped into the river for swim breaks multiple times. The provided lunch was not only delicious, but also thoughtfully prepared, adding to our memorable day. The chocolate chip cookies were.. yeah amazing.
The full day of rafting was filled with moments of thrill, laughter, fun, and filled with awesome surrounding natural beauty.
Our experience with Morrisons Rogue Wilderness Adventures was outstanding and one we will cherish forever. If you are looking for a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and natural beauty, look no further than a rafting trip down the scenic Rogue River with this excellent crew. It's an adventure you'll remember for a lifetime.

My husband and I just finished a raft supported hiking trip of the wild and scenic part of the Rogue river. It exceeded my expectations. The attention to detail and the care and comfort of the guests was perfect. I was worried about hiking such a long stretch and the ability to get in the rafts and hit the water multiple times a day made it so much more enjoyable for me. Our trip leader Sorin and her guides Marcus and Maynard were so welcoming and friendly we felt like family. I highly recommend this company - their care and customer service we’re second to none.

This was my first time river rafting. It was soo much fun! The lunch to start us off was awesome! Great quality food and it felt like home. Our guide Rip was awesome! He made us feel safe and he was soo much fun! He talked and interacted with us and made the trip extra fun! Having the inflatable kayak available to us made it even more fun! I loved it soo much! This experience made me want to book another one with bigger rapids! There was one downfall to the trip. There was a lead guide, named Don or something like that. He was soo rude! Our group fell behind and once we caught up to him he reprimanded our guide in front of everyone! Asking him if he knew how to row and everything ! Saying our guide made it unsafe for everyone. Which is totally not true. This lead guide made his raft and ours feel soo uncomfortable. That was soo unprofessional. He kept making comments to our guide and under his breath that were just so uncalled for and not professional. I would love to book another raft with you all but am hesitant because if that guide is there I won’t book it. I still gave a 5 star because everything except for that lead guide, was amazing ! Thank you!

Our guides, Brent and Soren, made for a wonderful trip. Kind and courteous, they both tended to all our needs despite none of us being sandwich people. Soren allowed us all to row to our hearts content. Highly recommend Morrison’s!
Whenever I have friends visiting from out of state that would like to visit a local vineyard, I take them to Reustle (pronounced rustle, like rustle the leaves) Prayer rock Vineyard. It is always a first class experience and they come home with lots of wine to share. One of the benefits of being a good host. The wine tastings are a delight, the pairings with snacks are always fun. I've been to almost all of Douglas Counties wineries and Prayer Rock is at the top of the list.

Went here with a few friends and had a great time. This was my first visit to a winery. They had a live band, and the grounds were amazing. I am not a wine drinker myself(I had a beer), but my friends loved the wine. I observed a wine tasting and learned about the wine. Had a great time.

Beautiful tasting room. Kevin provided great information during our wine tasting in the wine cave. Very informative and knowledgeable about wine. Our favorite was the Tempranillo.
Jack gave us a tour of their production facility and was also very knowledgeable about wine making.
Wish we could have enjoyed their outdoor seating but it was raining.

We joined the conseires club in november and just picked up our second month of 6 bottles. They brought us around back into the cave in a members only area. It was all decked out in christmas decore. The gal helping us was super nice and introduced us to the owners wife. She was very delightful and welcomed us to the wine club family. We ordered a cheese and meat plate, which is amazing, and enjoyed a bottle of our wine in a private pod on the front patio. Very romantic and always a pleasure to be there.

Company did a presentation for my local Wine Group, promoting great customer service, Christian beliefs and doing the right thing
Let me say my experience is far from that , they made a mistake on shipping and say they will make it right. Do not believe them
Still waiting for replacement of wine ( which they said to me over the phone they would do ) many many weeks later still nothing
Actions speak louder than words
My wine group will never invite them back

Amazing venue. Range of wine. Great service. Highly affordable bites to eat. Yes. really. The wine cave is absolutely gorgeous (rec to owner-play some Spotify guitar music lightly on the background)
Wines range from pretty good to amazing. Tasting comes with accompanying bites and tasting fee dropped with purchase (fee $15 pp, spend $50 pp to waive fee)
Such a terrific venue…..go!

This was an amazing experience. The wines are fabulous and of the 10 we tasted were consistently 4/5 to 5/5. The tasting room, building and grounds are amazing. The staff was incredibly warm and good educators without any pretense. The wine club is incredibly well thought out with a better system than others. I highly recommend a stop and don't doubt you'll be back.

Escaped the kids for a few hours tasting some beautiful wines here. My wife and I shared two separate wine flights on the recommendation of the server. This gave us access to taste 8 fantastic wines. We also had some small cheese bite pairings to enjoy with the wine. We enjoyed ourselves and really appreciated the time they took to educate a couple of wine rookies.

Underwhelming experience. The staff was very impersonal and did the absolute bare minimum in welcoming you. Such a cool spot with potential but the people are what bring you back and this place, I would highly suggest going elsewhere.
Abacela Winery is named after an old Spanish word meaning "to plant grapevines." The winery, run by a husband-wife team, offers a wide variety of beautifully complex and structured wines. Visitors can enjoy the full-flavored light wines and also have the option to pair them with food. The staff, like wine expert Hailey, are known for being friendly and informative, making for a wonderful overall experience at Abacela Winery.
Fantastic tasting experience. Delicious flight of wines paired with excellent cheese board arrangement. Knowledge and kind staff, and a beautiful building and indoor seating area surrounded by great scenery.

Great views from the elegant tasting room of the hillside vineyards. Top notch wide selection of fine wine, my favorite being the Syrah Reserve.

My boyfriend and I just moved to the area and have been dying to try some places that we’ve never been to. Let me tell you, the wines were amazing. My boyfriend has been to several wine tastings but this was my first and I had an incredible time. The wines we tasted were beautifully complex and structured.. and even the light wines were so full of flavor.
Unfortunately we did not try any food but we will next time.
And thank you so much to our wine expert Hailey who took care of us. She was so friendly and informative. Made for a wonderful experience.

My wife and I did the Vineyard tour with Greg Jones the CEO and had the best time. We learned so much and got treated to beautiful sites and delicious wines. It was incredibly special and can’t thank the Abacela team enough for making it one of the highlights of our vacation to southern Oregon.

Stunning venue. Focus on exceptional Spanish wines. Very good service. Tasting fee varies: $15-25 based on reserve level. Pours are good. I recommend getting both levels to compare standard with reserve level (sometimes we preferred standard!)
Fees waived with each $50 purchase.

Picturesque winery near Roseburg. We had 2 different flights. We also ordered cheese & charcuterie board - which was excellent. All wines we tried were good - Syrah being my favorite. It was interesting that the winery offers several Spanish varietals, which were nice change from usual Oregon Pinot Noirs. Also enjoyed very calm and laid-back atmosphere. Definitely put it on your list of wineries to visit in Umpqua Valley region.

Discover this place for Valentine's Day, had a wonderful dinner and met great people. Arguably one of the best port wines anyway. Ask for Joe or Sam and make sure you get a flight then end it with a port. We got ourselves a 2007 and a 2012. A wonderful wonderful place.

Wonderful winery, with a very nice tasting room and outside patio. Some really exceptional Spanish and Italian varietals you won't find in the Willamette Valley wineries. All of their wines are good, and a few are exceptional including the Reserve Tempranillo, and the Paramour blend. On the most recent visit we discovered they hold club pick-up event in Portland, so may consider joining.

Lovely view, quiet area and nice facility. Service is OK. The wines seem good to me but expensive (to me but then I'm more of a low end wine person). One of the best ports I've ever had. Dogs on the patio are allowed.
Wildlife Safari is a 600-acre park that boasts an impressive collection of animals from around the globe. Visitors can embark on a 4.5-mile drive-thru loop to see these creatures up close and in their natural habitats, including deer and emus giving birth. Beyond the drive-thru, guests can also explore the barn and get even closer to some of the animals.
Awesome place to go with family and friends!
Lots of animals to see and even feed a few!
After the nice relaxing drive around you can even park and see more animals!
Staff was very friendly! Some of the staff even stayed next to the animals and said a few facts and were always making sure you enjoyed it!
Definitely recommend going to this place!

The Wildlife Safari is located in Winston, Oregon. You can pay to go through the drive through to see bears, bison, elephants, giraffes, and many other animals, but if you plan to go through the drive through a couple more times it is best to buy a membership for $120 annually. You can go through the drive through as many times as you would like the entire year. You can add a person onto the membership, so you could also just go in on a membership with a family member or a friend. You can walk through and look at many other animals for free, with donations kindly accepted. There is a small playground for children, a cafeteria/ restaurant, many different species of animals to look at as well as a petting zoo area.

Great little set up. Lots of great things to see. My advice is don't let the guy behind you rush you through. Tell him/her to go around and race to the finish on their own time. You only get the one trip through and it's not by the car but the passengers inside so take your time and really enjoy the presentation. I love the fact that they are doing this the right way and not like some nasty places that try to make money off the poor animals.

Tons of family fun. Lots of animals to see, plenty of activities in the village. Playground, petting zoo, camel rides, train rides, Photo Booth. snacks, gift shop. Everything extra cost extra. Place is affordable for the most part and about average. Lots of more intimate options for interacting with animals for a cost. Arrived at 2pm and many animals were napping already. You could see them; just laying down. Earlier arrival time would be best we assumed. Village layout is a little confusing and viewing window glass had major glare. We will be back.

We spent today here. It had been many years since we'd been there, so some things have changed, such as some of the predatory animals not roaming free as in yrs past. But, I do understand why they probably had to change that. Still, we enjoyed it so much. The weather was perfect, and this place is so well maintained. Definitely do the walk through as well, if you have time. The landscaping is very pretty, too. Both adults and children really love feeding the birds, in the aviary.

Drove through with family, it was a lot of fun. You must stay in your vehicle at all times. We bought some food in cups to feed the animals through our windows. We had enough time pause in our car and take pictures along the way. There's souvenirs available at the end, highly recommend as a family stop!

Loved it so much and only wish we'd got there earlier in the day to experience more of the safari village! The drive through was huge, so many animals roaming free - it was really quite spectacular to see such great care for all creatures. The bears were my favourite, also loved the feeding area where we had fun giving snacks to the deer and emus (one of them stole our cup and got chased around by his mate, we were laughing for ages). We ended our tour with a sticker for the van and a little peek at the cheetah. I'd definitely recommend this safari for all ages, stay for the whole day and enjoy it!

I love this place. Went with my granddaughters. They had a blast. They loved feeding the animals. The ostriches and deer came straight up to my car. The bears are my favorite. They seemed so relaxed laying in the shade. The leopards and cheetahs were nice to see. We saw them eating their dinner. The walk in part of the park was very nice. We walked around and saw several animals there. We loved the babies. I would highly recommend this place. It is a great place to stop while on vacation or if you just want to have a special day.

A great place for people young and old. The kids we're super excited each time we spotted a new animal on the drive through, and the adults felt a child like anticipation. The walk through village offered an educational experience with different animals to see and interact with and the chance to see some creatures very up close and personal.

Drove down from Portland for a day adventure with my 3 children. This place does not disappoint! So much fun, much better than the Oregon Zoo. Animals had more than enough room to roam freely and all seemed happy. My kids loved feeding the deer and the emu's! Well cared for and kept together. We'll definitely be back!

This experience was amazing!!! We saw so many animals up close and happy in their environment. Bonus was seeing a 15 minute old deer and watching an emu give birth. Our entire party was incredibly happy with this experience and still talking about it days later. Enjoyed walking around the barn and seeing other animals after the drive through. Highly recommend.

This was quite amazing to do. We were pressed for time, but with your admission you can go around a couple of times on the drive. Plus the walk through area is included. That is where you can do the camel ride and train. It was nice they honored both a Veteran discount and triple A discount. Will definitely go back again 😀

I have been visiting Wildlife Safari for the past 35+ years (about every 4-5 years we make a trip down). It's a wonderful experience, and a treat to see so many animals- some up close! Some things have changed over the years. For example, the lions used to roam free to the point they had to open a gate to let each car in and out. Now they're contained behind fences. I'm guessing it's an insurance requirement (which says more for society than anything). It's still a great place to visit.
The day we were there this time was pretty hot. The rhinos were hiding in the shade near the top of the hill, but other than that, pretty much all of the other critters were out and about. We didn't do the train or camel ride this time, but have in the past (and enjoyed both).
All in all, Wildlife Safari is absolutely worth a trip- granted it's no Loro Parque, but is educational, charming, and enjoyable in it's own way. Yes, we will absolutely be back in a couple years.

Beautiful sunny day that wasn't too cold so we could enjoy the animals with the windows down. Went in the afternoon of a weekday, so very light traffic & the animals were all out & playful. This preserve is spectacular & massive with so many animals from all over the world. Today's favorite was the young grizzly bear playing & running. Also, two Emos fighting over the feed cup LOL. Make sure to bring at least $5 cash so you can feed some of the animals. This place is a must see & I'll be going back at least once a year!

Wow wow wow, This was such a great experience. We last minute got tickets for this safari on our way up to Portland and it was 100% worth it. There was a slight drilling so it was am interesting experience. Many of the animals were out cuddled up with each other. We spent around 2 hours here. Not many cars on the trail. Be careful feeding the emus... food go everywhere haha. This is a must stop !

After we were done with that we walked around and checked out the other animals. Fun family activity.

Was absolutely amazing I take my daughter there at least once a month:) I love what they do there and I love seeing the animals, my daughter is three so she doesn't have the attention span for the lessons or anything yet but I try and learn what I can when I can, about 16$ for an adult and 4 and under are free, or you can buy a membership for a year (which I'll do if I ever an extra 90$ in one go) ...

Edit: I used to enjoy this place, especially when they were changing for the better with acquisition of otters, discovery farm, and new experiences for everyone. There were positive changes, and people would visit after YEARS of not being there to say it was completely different and exciting. Now, however, the board of directors (mainly the new President) alienated the staff, managers, and volunteers who were positively impacting the establishment and they all left. As a volunteer who created their museum of conservation, I no longer feel like this is a safe and exciting learning environment for the public.

The habitats for the animals were very natural and open. Staff was so caring and friendly, willing to answer all my questions about the animals I had, and I got to see a very kind staff member explain Nubs' eye medicine as she did it. Everyone needs to stop supporting this business. ..its no longer going to be a rehabilitation center... all new people took over and the main guy thinks that animals don't feel pain. He has been giving orders to euthanize anything brought in with its eyes still closed and thinks its humane to euthanize by putting baby squirrels in the freezer to freeze to death instead of doing it the correct t way. . I HAVE FRIENDS THAT QUIT AFTER 14 YEARS FUE TO THIS NEW IN HUMANE PRACTICE. AND NOBODY SHOULD CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THIS PLACE

Been there a bunch of times but this was probably the best time when we went last week. They brought out quite a few different animals that we hadn't been able to see up close before. It is definitely worth the trip.
Kevin Gambucci — Google review
They are more about profits than helping rehabilitate animals, some animals and more than 30+ staff have suffered with new management. And current owners believe animals don't feel pain. Which is referenced when an underweight squirrel was put into a freezer to be euthanized. The reference was brought up over a discussion over this situation going public on social media, current owners daughter admitted this about animals not feeling pain and it was learned by her father. She did remove her comment about admitting it, staff/owners were blocking the public from asking questions about a lot of the situations going on over there with new management. More than questionable when volunteers and staff that have been there for so many years are fired or walk off due to the environment and treatment of animals.
What an incredible experience! We chose the Thrill Seeker to get a good mixture of both the kayak and raft, and both really gave completely different experiences so I'm glad we opted for the full day to fit in both. All the tour guides were amazing, but Disney really made our trip exceptional and so much fun. This was our first time kayaking and rafting on the river and she really helped get us confident and comfortable on the water from the start. She went over verbally what to expect with each set of rapids and how we were going to handle them to help us mentally prepare. She truly knows how to guide and work with a group of completely random people to help make them a team. She also, without hesitation, helped rescue a lone kayaker's kayak from the class 4 rapids and then offered to help get him back to the boat ramp since he had just lost his paddle and belongings. She just went the extra mile with every aspect of today's trip and we can't say enough about how wonderful it was! I will say, another group really struggled because they were NOT listening to their guide and completely talked over her the whole time, so please listen! They know what they're doing if you give them a chance to help you. Thank you Orange Torpedo for the absolutely fantastic day! We will DEFINITELY be coming back for more!

Great trip with Orange Torpedo. We did the half day Salmon River, which was a perfect escape from a hot summer day. Excellent guide - Jackie. There were a number of rafting companies on the river and we noticed Orange Torpedo didn't load up their boats with as many passengers as the other companies. I don't know if this is normal, but it made it more fun to not be crowded in. The only con, their ground transportation is a bit shaky (aka old vehicles), but didn't present a problem.

Excellent adventure. This is a full day of intense rapids and whitewater. A total blast. But be warned, you need whitewater kayaking and rafting experience before going on this trip!! this is not a relaxing flat water experience...it is 6-7 hours of rapids one after the other...
gorgeous clean clear river, very cold water....be sure to wear a wet suit or splash gear. Our guides were total professionals. Well-spoken, great personalities, funny, informative.
Derek was some incredible eye-candy. I had to pick my jaw off the ground a few times.
lots of flipping over and falling out of the kayaks...so be prepared....
this outfitter was one of my favorites...I wished in retrospect I would have hired them for other river trips instead of Row and Ouzel and Western....
the only suggestion was that lunch needs to be taken up a few notches....deli meat sandwiches should be elevated to something nicer...not quite enough food for all of us....the guides did not have enough to eat after we all ate. More protein is needed for everyone
going to do this trip again!

Popping my white waters for the very first time doing a 1 day trip on the North Umpqua River with an amazing group of guides for my birthday weekend. We had a group of 7 and split up into 2 rafts.
Dietz the Team Lead was simple and informative when it came to SAFETY FIRST! Teaching us what to do and not to do before hopping onto the river. One of our friend sprained their ankle and was in his raft and every now and then would jokingly pray before we hit a few gnarly rapids. Of course he one handedly guided them like a pro and our trooper friend survived without a scratch.
Derek our guide was super friendly and totally not an introvert with his humorous jokes and informative "falling rock" and "leaver rocks". Take is easy on the birds though, okay 🤣
Lunch was provided and prepped by the team at the lunch spot midway into the trip.
Absolute favorite part was riding the bull embracing the Amazon Queen!! Least favorite part was ending the day...whomp whomp whomp.
Overall, the experience was 5 🌟 because all the guides including Becca and Lauren were buttkickin awesome and knowledgeable from start to finish!! 10/10 would have to do this again, thank you all so much!
P.S. Let's go Leos! Hope you too have an awesome birthday Derek!!!

If you booked prior to January 1st, double check the rate you booked at and the rate you’re actually charged! First, the newly remodeled rooms are very nice and clean. I loved how spacious it was and the comfortable seating area. Only problem with the room was the A/C, no matter how low we set it (on high, cool or auto cool) it wouldn’t drop below 76 at night which made it hard to sleep. When we checked in the front desk agent did not verify the dates we were staying or the rate and I didn’t think to ask as I had booked over the phone and was emailed a confirmation. The next morning there was a receipt under the door so I called the front desk to double check we were still booked another night and they said when there system updated it changed our stay to 1 night, they said it would be taken care of and they’d change the rate to $112 which is what I was originally quoted. Housekeeping still tried to come into the room and tell us it’s after checkout, so it was never communicated. We went down, got new keys, and a manger fixed the reservation. I then asked him to verify the price for both nights and they were set about $70 higher than I was quoted even after I was told it would be taken care of. Again, they said the system update changed the prices, so I’m sure a lot of people got charged more than quoted. He was very friendly and fixed it for us. We then asked for a 12pm checkout and again the next morning housekeeping knocked and asked if we were a late checkout, again telling me it wasn’t communicated even though we asked the night before. The food at Cow Creek was great, and everyone was very friendly.

I love Seven Feathers. I have been to many tribal casinos in the US and everything they do far surpasses all of them. They are extremely clean, they keep decor fresh, great casino floor staff as well as front desk. The restaurants are great and their point systems rock. It isn’t too big and it isn’t too small. This is by far my favorite casino to come to even when I lose! Great job management and team!

Location is convenient because it's right off. The freeway staff is kind of far and few between. But the arcade It's pretty cool. Me and my son went in there and played a bunch of video games.where I don't gamble. Maybe nicer if they expanded the video game center a little more for kids that are here with their parents and made it a little bit more affordable. The way I see it is you already make so much money off of the gambling. Why not give it back by making your arcade a lot more affordable Say a quarter of a game, it's not like you're have very much maintenance and doom and not like you have to watch Over him. Like you do the video game slots. I don't quite understand why they charge so much for it. And don't have a big area, but it was cool.

I actually went this time to celebrate my birthday. I got a surprise knock at the door and there was an employee standing there with a yummy piece of cheesecake and a birthday card for me from the front desk. 😋 so sweet!

Was a quick trip but I enjoyed the hot tub and kids really liked swimming and the arcade room. Wish there was more food choices to eat, felt limited. Haven't been since post covid when they had the all you can eat. Had a good time, short and sweet. I'll definitely go back, maybe for a few more days.

Great Casino to stop at if you’re traveling with children. They have a pool and arcade to keep the kids occupied as well as a few family friendly restaurants. The only thing as a downside is the prices of the restaurants are a bit expensive for what they are. For adults the casino has a wide variety of machines as well as a good number of table games. My family and I stayed the night and the rooms were spacey and pretty luxurious.

Love to get away to this lively place, fun to get away and have a meal, or play some machines maybe take a moment to stop in the bingo hall and play a few cards. They always have live concerts or some kind of attraction going on. The rooms are very decent priced and well kept up. Also they have a vip room its amazing should definitely check it out if you haven't yet.

This place sucks unless you like giving money away. We never win. Not sure why we come back ever except that it is close to home. We figured we might win at least once. Never happens, might as well just walk in and hand them our money. They are to greedy for us. Will not be going back. Would rather drive further where at least there is a chance to win. The only reason there are good reviews on here is because the hotel is nice as long as your not going to gamble don't waste your time or hard earned money.

Our car broke down on the way to California and we needed a place to stay for the night. Fortunately they had rooms, although it was pricey!! The room was nice. No complaints. The casino area was not too crowded, but seemed smaller than expected. I liked that there were beverage areas for sodas and coffee as you were gambling. We ate in one restaurant, diner type. It was okay. I felt like we waited a bit for the waitress to take our order. All the staff that helped us were nice. They also have an indoor swimming pool that a lot of families were using. Would I stay again, probably not, but if I lived in the area, I would for a short getaway.

I've not stayed in the rooms as it is my stop heading up north with my RV. No hookups, but it's great to have a rest here for the night. The place is very clean. Diner Restaurant was nice, and breakfast was great for the grandson. Nice perk was we happen to be there a day they host a Farmers Market. The grounds are beautiful, especially all the roses. Great to see they offer their venue for a space for the community to have a farmers market where we bought several items for the reminder of our trip. Also, across the highway, they have a fabulous fuel/struck stop. So clean!

Cow Creek Cafe has large breakfasts and they are very tasty. The casino and hotel Christmas decorations are the best I have seen in a public place in quite a while. Sorry there is not room service or cleaning because of Covid. But the service was outstanding. We could ask for fresh towels or extra glasses and be served quickly. Everyone was friendly and nice. First time I have stayed but won't be the last.

Atmospheres nice, the people are really happy and comfortable working there. They really is no stress on the gambling floor. All the games are clean. It smells really nice. The only problem is the food seems to be designed for the older palette. So it's plain and a bit mushy. I had hash browns that taste like there was mashed potatoes inside. Very odd. But other than that it's a really great place to go and hang out and get your gamble on.

I was put on the wait list on one of the most busiest night of the year. They contacted, explained what was going to happen, and got me a room as soon as someone cancelled. They are always friendly, efficient, and helpful. The rooms are always clean and the beds very comfortable. I truly enjoy staying at the hotel.

Loved the room. Bed was comfortable. Big bathroom. We enjoyed the sitting area. The pool and spa looks great but didn't have time to use, will have to come back. Casino was smokey, not really my thing, ran through my $20 bucks in less than 20 min. Next time I will save it for the spa.

Last summer (2022) we visited and had a good time. Fast forward to this summer we received some coupons and free play dollars—we spent a total of two nights this time around. Excellent modern rooms. The casino has a great vibe, and I appreciate they have lots of places to chill besides just in front of slots.
The pool is great, and the restaurants are a great value with great flavor. We don’t live close so won’t be back for a bit, but look forward to going back. Easily the best casino in Oregon!

The casino is nice for those who like to gamble. The hotel was not worth $220 per night it has very poor water pressure in the shower couldn't even was my hair. I was just blown off when I let the front desk staff know. We did stay in the side they said was the better side. Not a luxury hotel. I would say good option if you want to drink and gamble and not get a DUI.

This establishment is widely regarded as one of the premier gaming destinations within the state of Oregon. However, it does have one notable drawback, which is the relatively early closing time. On the positive side, smoking is permitted within the premises. I would like to inquire if there is a designated non-smoking section available. I frequent this establishment periodically and consistently return due to the exceptional quality of the games offered.

Had a great time as always. The resort is designed for families. They have a large pool, hot tub, video game room. The rooms are clean and updated constantly. The restaurants are first class food. Pizza, umpqua ice cream and pastry station. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Sadly, I have to make my first not so raving post. I’m not sure what happened when you folks made all of the changes. But it shows. Drinks from a server were very weak , but when got from bar they were on par. (Doubles all night) room was not as cleans as usual. food was great as always, staff is the best. Tight machines. We are all trying to guys, loosen up. Also no cookies on a Friday. What the heck guys…… I’ll see ya soon. Cheers

The rooms were clean and beautiful, the water pressure was amazing, and the water was hot hot! Wish their coffee tasted better in the room.
Wish they had a breakfast special for guests staying . Only complaint about the casino….the cigarette smoke it awful! Needs better ventilation. And more dining options.
Overall was a fantastic stay!

I expected a nice meal but I was served raw chicken. Management probably hires an inexperienced chef. I asked for a refund and i was told that I ate it already by the server. Poor chef poor, staff and a lying waitress! I broke the chicken into piece due to one that was RAW. Too bad I was willing to tip. I will not miss this place! Adios their slots sucks 700$ in and no payout on a bonus feature.

Amazing place. Customer service was so nice and accommodating. We forgot some of our toiletries and they were so awesome at helping us get what we need. We ate dinner at the steak house, Kbar. The food was amazing, but our waiter made the experience so memorable 💖. The casino was fun as well, we didn't go to the concert cause it was sold out, but people said it was great.

It’s a casino and that is pretty much it. There are services for kids. If you bring your children with you there’s a nice large pool and small arcade. There are very few restaurants that are kid friendly, but there is a nice cafeteria, which has the best food prices, and probably the best food, I have pictured it in my photos. The service overall was OK. There was a mix of workers who were happy to be there and others who did not like their job and it was apparent. Don’t expect any extra accommodations. If they do something wrong they don’t seem to care at all. Stayed the night, the accommodations were comfortable, so no complaints about the hotel room. However, if you’re sensitive to smoke, the casino does allow smoking in most areas and you can smell smoke through most of the halls of the hotel, and sometimes through your vent in your bedroom, even though the rooms are non-smoking. They kept saying over the speakers that someone was winning over twelve hundred dollars like every hour or less but I never saw someone win money or that large of a sum of money so it felt like it was a recording. Most gamblers did not seem to be happy Did not really see many people winning so if you’re going there, expecting to win don’t. If you’re a strategic gambler, you might do well, a lot of the workers on the tables seem to be newer, which could also mess you up as well if you are experienced, so overall it is a mix of everything. Restaurants are not too good there was a fly in my drink twice at one of the bars but don’t let that stop you from trying the food. Don’t have any expectations. I would go back again though. Overall not too bad.
Recreation area with campground, yurts, a boat ramp & 3 miles of riverfront for fishing.
Well taken care of. Sites A and F are only available at this time. All others appear to be closed (roads are closed with notices OP&R staff only)
Camper bathrooms and areas are very well taken care of!

Nice campground next to the river with very nice paved bike paths connecting to the surrounding communities. Grass was a bit overgrown and needed to be mowed. My site's RV sewer drain was plugged but the staff promptly responded and hired a contractor who fixed it. Campground is also next to the freeway but the traffic blended into the background so didn't bother me.

Spacious sites, pull- thru available. Fits my 32ft plus toy dolly & car( 89ft long sites). Many trails, you can walk to the large dog park 0.8 mile away on a paved walkway. Biking & hiking galore by river!

The front gate wasn’t staffed the entire time we were there. Understaffed and/or COVID, I suppose. We had reserved online so we just went to our sites. A ranger arrived about an hour later to check us in. We asked if she would trim a tree that was rubbing against our motorhome, and she said “maybe if we have time”. They never did trim it so after a couple of days we did it ourselves! This was our first time here, and it was not a good impression. There is no screening of who’s coming in or what they are driving. We saw many people sleeping in their cars with piles of junk and trash laying around. Several times there were three or more cars in one site. There were a lot of very old campers and lots of tents. Another RVer we talked to said it had really gone downhill since the last time they were here. The rangers did kick someone out who was being a scary nuisance to us and others. In 8 years of travel, this is one of the few parks where we have felt unsafe. The sites and roads are paved which is a positive. Trees need trimming on all the roads. We saw very few, if any, sites that were level. Most of the longest sites (including ours) have a curve near the front which makes it interesting to park an un-bendable motorhome. Many sites are also awkward to back into due to the angle and trees. There is nice spacing between sites and tall trees that offer some shade. Grass is optional and is losing the battle to dirt and sticky weeds. There are many, many ankle breaker holes dug by ground squirrels and gophers. We even lucky enough to have a broken water sprinkler that we had to cover to avoid tripping over it. Each site comes with a coveted, tired picnic table. The campground is right by I-5 so there is constant traffic noise regardless of your site. The restrooms and showers are old and need a good cleaning. They did have toilet paper and paper towels. There is no WI FII. Verizon was 4g 4 bars. Satellite is possible in some sites. If you are towing, it is best to unhook your vehicle in the amphitheater parking lot or you will block the road at your site. We visited some of the wineries and breweries. It was very smoky when we were there so didn’t do any outdoor activities. Definitely left a bad taste in our mouths!
Sue Wyatt — Google review
The only reason i don't give this park,is the proximity to I-5. The road noise will become white noise. So i have to say also with tinnitus and even hearing ringing constantly that i can still hear road traffic. No reason not come and enjoy this place. Happy 4th of July.
T Gomez — Google review
It is a very nice park lots of staff all over the place keeping maintenance up. I did wish there were more trees, seemed a little bare between the yurts and even the camping and RV areas could have used a lot more trees between the sites. Over all alot of fun.
There is a nice paved trail that goes from Gold Hill to Rouge River. You can bike , walk, scooter 🛴 or skateboard it. Had a wonderful time.

We were on a 10 hr road trip with 2 medium-sized dogs. This rest area portion was mid way and a welcome relief for dogs. The large, fenced-in doggy area was awesome. We had lunch on the picnic table located inside doggy area. Walking trail along the river had gorgeous views.

An excellent place to unwind by the Rogue River. Yurts are in their own small loop separate from the rest of the campground. Stunning views of the mountains. Stayed a couple nights in yurt #09. Surrounded by towering trees it was truly an experience. A few things to note: this part of Oregon has lots of creepy crawlies. This includes the campground. A fair amount of spiders, bugs, mosquitoes (during the warmer months) and for the dog lovers, ticks. We did pick up a couple ticks just from walking on the paved path. The yurts are fairly close to I5 so you do get some traffic noise, but it’s nothing excessive by any means. The restrooms and showers were clean and plenty of hot water. Showers accessible by door code and had no issue using them at any time of the day or night. Park staff seemed to be friendly. Firewood is available for $5 a bundle in every loop. I can’t speak for all of the yurts, however #A09 had a strange tile floor. Like the type you see in elementary schools. It was a little off putting as it seemed so out of place, but the yurt was comfortable and had a second small table which was great for playing card games on. Yurts seemed well spaced and quiet. Further in, the loops for RVs seemed pretty tight not leaving anything for privacy or peace and quiet. Appeared to be fairly crowded. Would definitely recommend if you are passing through or just want a little adventure.

We stayed in site D21 with full hookups. It's close to the bathrooms and showers near the E sites. It's also walkable to the river. The only con is they don't offer wifi. If you like to watch Netflix before going to bed like me, download before you arrive.

Very nice pathway to ride. At the southern end it becomes a little boring on the straightaway section. I would ride from the bridge to the biggest marijuana farm you've seen and then turn around😎. The river is beautiful for sure, great place to chill out and relax.

We were hosted by Kelton, Dalton, and Jonah. We lucked out -- others that signed up for the day bailed due to threat of snow, but it wound up being sunny, so we had the place to ourselves! Two hours of fun -- the ziplines (there are 5 in total) are among the 3 longest we've been on. Admittedly, you spend little time ziplining, and more time being fully entertained by this (safe) comedy troupe, who had us laughing (sometimes chortling) and enjoying our time together. BE PREPARED TO HIKE SOME HILLS, but it's worth it. The last zipline is over 1/3 of a mile long, so look forward to that! This experience is also ADA compatible which I thought was impressive. Great views. Listen to the guides when they point out the POISON OAK! 😀

I can not over emphasize how much we loved our time with Rogue Valley ZipLine. We went for a company trip and from start to finish we all were laughing and having fun together. We had several people going up that were very nervous about the height we didn't get much past putting out harnesses on before our guides had everyone at ease. Whatever the occasion (or no occasion at all) if you are reading this you should stop reading, go to there page and book your trip now!

We visited on a Thursday afternoon and had a reservation that we made four days earlier. We arrived at golf course and then rode in the van to the Zipline park. The van ride was an adventure, rough road, fast, and bouncy. We recommend sitting towards the front, we were in the fourth row and you could feel it.
The guides, Dalton and John, were knowledgeable and took their time to get us fitted in our harness and were happy to help each person make their adjustments. We watched the video ahead and took the advice that tighter was not better and found that the key to not having a wedgy on landing like some of the others. It's the thigh harness that you want to make sure is comfortable, take the guides advice and leave a little extra room.
We added the GoPro camera when we got there and have a video of our adventure on the ziplines.
The five ziplines grow longer as you move forward. The "bunny" line gets you comfortable with the process and by the time you are done you are ready to pushoff to increase your speed and lean back into the zip blind. We really enjoyed the zipping.
While you may only walk a 1/4 mile on the whole trip, it's all uphill dusty trail. Your shoes will be dirty and your legs may burn. The guides were helpful to have water at the top, but the first climb is a doozie.
We bought tshirts at the end and enjoyed our time.
Our guides took pictures of us at the foot of the zip, we recommend taking a camera, make sure you can secure it and nothing in the back pockets.

HIGHly recommend all the adventures this company is hosting!! We did the ZIP dip sip for my 40th and it was spot on amazing. Enjoying the beauty of nature with a little adrenaline boost and friends… magical!
Their zips were some of the best I have ever done. How they start you on a “bunny” zip to tear the waters, make you feel comfortable with what you’re doing and build you up to the big zips. SMART and effective for those in the group that are Leary or fearful of the experience.
The shuttle to and from each experience was easy and quick. Lunch at the golf course was great and needed. Also you can order burgers, beers and additional food there as well.
Then the rafting…. Thank god for Scotty and Ryan. They made it awesome. So experienced and knowledgeable about what they were doing and the area. They shared so many cool personal stories of rafting and their experiences. They did an amazing job with making us feel comfortable and confident so we could feel the adrenaline pumping and truly enjoy the thrill of whitewater rafting without being terrified of being tossed on the class 4’s.
The best guides I have had Ever! And we have done a bit of rafting.
I just want to say thank you to the Rogue Valley company, owner, and all our guides for making my 40th so memorable!

Had to wait an extra 20 minutes for a couple they signed up at the last minute (reason for only 4 stars). Guides were excellent, very professional but also added humor and made it fun. Zip lines were great, getting progressively longer. Our 8 and 12 year old granddaughters loved it. So did us older folks. If you have the $, I would definitely recommend it.

Our family had so much fun at Rogue Valley ZipLine Adventures! We were on a road trip from Colorado and had never been zip lining before. We brought our two boys, 8 and 13. We all had a blast! Our guides Jonah and Lilly were amazing, patient, fun, and always made us feel safe! When our youngest got stung by a wasp and then got stuck out on the last line, Jonah came to the rescue, retrieved him and then administered some minor first aid. Lilly was a hoot, always making us laugh. The two of them were goofy as heck and made a great team. We felt welcome and cared for and would 100% recommend!

The volcanic plateaus of Upper and Lower Table Rock offer scenic trails adorned by seasonal flowers and pools, providing ample opportunities for sighting bobcats and lizards. While the hike to Upper Table Rock is shorter, it is a sight to behold during spring when wildflowers and trees bloom. The trail has several switchbacks that can be challenging at times. On the other hand, Lower Table Rock's plateau offers spectacular views but requires more effort due to its length and strenuousness.
Upper table rock is a shorter hike overall, but in the spring it is absolutely gorgeous as wildflowers and various tree's begin to bloom. It can be trying at times, as it does have a few switchbacks. Lower table rock is both longer and a tad more strenuous. However, the plateau of Lower Table Rock is vast with breathtaking views. You'll want water for both and prepare for a bit of burn (depending on your fitness level).
Chelsea Woods — Google review
The hike up Upper Table Rock is not dangerous but the grade and switchbacks will burn your legs and lungs. The trail is shaded for much of the way, which is nice because it gets warm. Bring water. I enjoyed the plateau the most, for its view farmland and river, plus majestic Mount McLoughlin off in the distance.

Mind blowing views and surreal setting near Medford. Definitely worth a stop for the quick hike if you’re passing through the area. Can get a little more crowded on weekends, but once you’re at the top of the plateau there’s plenty of room to find your own way.

A beautiful day visiting at the Upper Table. It was a bit crowded on the trail but I don't think anyone minded...this is the easier of the two with regard to distance but the vista is equally satisfying. The terrain is a bit more rough in comparison to the Lower so hikers beware, especially on wet days. Both of these trails consistently remain on my favs list in the Rogue Valley.

It is a beautiful place with a lot of trails to walk on. They have maps posted around the park in different places that display the trails and where each one leads to. Plenty of really cool things to see along the trails. Plus, depending on the time of year that you are there, you're very likely to see different types of wildlife as well. They also have a nice playground for kiddo's to get some energy out and have some fun as well. All in all it is a nice place to visit. It can just get a little crowded on the weekends so if you are able to, I suggest going during the week to avoid the crowds.

Lithia Park has gotten more beautiful over the last 30 years. There's a kids play structure, the Japanese gardens, very challenging stairs going straight up on the hillside for hikers and joggers with the chutzpah to climb, and benches and picnic tables to rest, craft, or eat. Today there was a cello player on the path, a couple artists, some deer, and nice breeze. Be aware there is an E-coli warning for the creek, as of August 2023. But don't let it stop you from enjoying the walking paths. Restrooms are open. No dogs, no bikes, no smoking.

Saw 6 deer before I even parked. Could've given 5 stars off of that. I only walked around half the park, but all, including the Japanese garden, was lovely. I spent quite some time sitting in front of the zen rock garden. The rest of the walk was clean, not too busy, and floral.
“ITS CHRISTMAS, CAROL” A Fun and Fast Paced Slapstick Comedy Play in Ashland at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Playing till January 2022. We really enjoyed it!!!

Excellent productions with fine actors. This town has three comfortable theatres used for a variety of dramas, musicals and some Shakespeare productions during a long March to November season. Loved the 'Preface' ($10) which is a 30-minute talk given by an actor and theatre scholar as an intro to each play's author, storyline and production history. Very informative and helpful if you're going to shows with school age children.

Do not miss this experience. Outdoor theaters are a special treat. Evening performances are exquisite. OSF does everything with flair and style. The talent is stellar. Wine, beer, popcorn and cookies are sold and allowed in open air theaters.
Melody Murphy — Google review
Really cool venue and performance (we saw Twelfth Night). Very unique experience to watch such performances in an outdoor venue. The plays are very modern takes on the classics which make it a little more approachable for those less familiar. I had little knowledge of the story, Twelfth Night, so highly recommend doing a little homework pre-show otherwise you might find yourself lost trying to follow the story (particularly given the heavy early modern English).
The theater is very nice with variety of concessions and easily accessible restrooms.

Not even at 25% occupancy, but we've been waiting for two weeks for the air quality to clear so we could see "Fannie."
It was well worth the wait! It was a clear sky, and cooler weather.
The actress did an excellent job! 👏
What a treat! It was an appreciative audience too.

Fantastic performance!!!! Extremely impressive, we loved the show. Pretty amazing to witness the standing ovation from the crowd at the end. We saw modern day Romeo & Juliet.

Recently, as a member, I had to exchange tickets for one of the 10 shows we purchased from May 3rd to May 1st. We were able to get the exact same seats that we had purchased for May 3rd - A1 and A2. The person helping me had no problem exchanging them, but since we bought them at pre-sale prices, he was going to have to charge me the difference, which was $62.50. I was very surprised and disappointed that they would do that.

I've seen 10 plays here and participated in the backstage tour. Honestly, some of my best memories are from my trips here. They put on incredible productions and there is so much talent to be seen.

Love the theater the show was great! Being that we are from another state and the first time visiting! It would have been nice to have been made aware of mandatory mask and proof of covid vaccinations to enter and open out door theater. Yeah sounds weird and doesn't make sense. But for us to have been made aware when we purchased our tickets and the multiple reminder emails of the upcoming show and asking for donations. Somewhere would have been nice to make that made aware.

Had a very enjoyable evening watching “All’s well that ends well.” They do a great job of presenting a modern interpretation of the play while staying true to the original language. These are not stuffy stiff performances.
One thing we didn’t realize at first is that the theater is open air. So be sure to bring a jacket to stay warm.
Tyler Waite — Google review
I have attended OSF since 1969. The plays in the past were always fantastic, this year sadly the dramatic interpretation of the plays left me short with only discontent. It has been a treat to enjoy Shakespeare in full traditional costumes but that seems to have been only a remembrance from yesteryear. Although I had heard from volunteers, there are hundreds of costumes saved in storage that would be great to see again to enhance the plays.
This year I saw Romeo and Juliet making a current political statement. Perhaps, homelessness should be dealt with in its own play with a creative resolution that would actually address the problems that have developed into homelessness. This was so distracting to a marvelous love story with traditional lines that it was flat.
The next disappointment was The Three Musketeers. The background of the play was interesting about the author Alexandre Dumas but could have been left as an introduction then the play would retain its original script. The foul language really did not add anything to the play and certainly not good for young theatre goers. I did not see disclaimer concerning the language when I ordered my tickets.
I suspect many of us are traditionalist who enjoy our current cultural or political issues in their own plays perhaps not mutilating Shakespeare or the other authors we come to enjoy.
I fear after all these years as OSF reaches toward 100 years of existence faithful patrons may not be rushing back as some of us over half a century. The theatre has been part of my entire life and I would hope Ashland and OSF will find its way back to great entertaining theatre again, for its survival.

January 2023 OSF announced major changes in all things. Due to Covid, the economy, etc....OSF will be taking drastic majors and 2018 season ended with 26 shows - cancelled - or move indoors- huge layoffs and $2-3 Million in losses...Like thousands, we use migrate to Ashland every year for a theater fix.
It is The Best! So Great - and so sad- due to Covid 19 - all plays and musicals are cancelled...Big financial hit to the company. We shall return.

We came from Chico CA and were aware there was some smoke in the area from fires. We came to see The Three Musketeers. We had awesome seats. The smoke was pretty low and we were told by email that we would be informed by email by 5:00 pm if the show would go on. They said the show would go on, we arrived, they opened seating, started playing music and then a man came out to announce that the show was canceled. We could understand to some degree of course but...why did they seat us?
Then, we heard some people saying that they were seating people in Romeo and Juliet which was in doors. When we got to that theater, the doors were closed and it was full. Some people were fortunate enough to get in but we were not. We only heard about it from people walking past that were "in the know" from the right person directing them over to that show. We weren't that lucky. We ended up wandering around town that was mostly closed for a bit and walked back to our hotel. Very disappointing. Empty stage, too bad the show looked promising 😐

Worst "Macbeth" of my life...actors had no mic's, very difficult to hear. Macbeth's best speech was too soft. Some good visual effects. My CA family said they had bad experience last year with Shakespeare, wouldn't return.

Beautiful theatre.
Parking needs to be nearer to it for disabled patrons.
Sound system made me wonder if actors needed amplification but no the director just liked it LOUD. Lots of lunging and missing very few screams of pain as looser dies.
Costumes looked home made. Witches could only be identified because they appeared together.
I learned that the spoils of greed are not satisfying.

ScienceWorks Hands-on Museum is a diverse attraction that celebrates science through interactive exhibits and activities suitable for all ages. It serves as an event space offering beautiful outdoor views of Grizzly Peak for weddings or other occasions. The museum is highly recommended, not just as a science center but also as an amazing place to hold events. It facilitates children's education by providing excellent hands-on experiences and opportunities to learn about various scientific concepts.
Great place for kids, my 7 year old and 1 1/2 yr old loved all the interactive stations. So much to see and do. I would totally recommend this place and would come back if we were in the area again.

I went today,3/17//23. The facility was well staffed. Staff walked around and spent time conversing with one another. I was not impressed by the lack of cleanliness ( papers all over the floor where the planes are made). I cleaned up the floor area along with my 2 and 6 year old grand child. In the room where the peg board and dominoes are, one can find spider webs on the walls ( see photos and enlarge to see the webs.) and the device outside that demonstrates echos was not fully functional due to garbage and debris inside. Someone could have cleaned it out some way or somehow so that we could have used it. There were a few activities that were not functioning and there were no signs on them...not sure if staff regularly inspect them throughout the day. I don't live in this state but I will be frequenting the place. I'm hoping something gets done about this and puts up signs as to how all of the things are sanitized. No one was able to explain that to this RN.

ScienceWorks was one of our favorite places to go. However, it has really changed since the last time we have been there. The exhibits are dated and a portion of the exhibits appear to have been removed. What was there held my children's interest for about 30 minutes. Not a good return on the $27.50 it cost for us to get in.
I also did not appreciate that on the day we were there, they were busy decorating for a very adult event that was going to be held that evening. The advertising for the event was right when you walked in and it was not appropriate for children. I did not appreciate having to explain to my children what burlesque meant. A children's museum is just not an appropriate venue for a very adult event, even if it is after hours. Why would any self respecting adult want to attend that event in a children's museum? It is wrong on many levels. Needless to say, we did not renew our pass this time and will not be coming back, which is unfortunate because safe engaging places for children are few and far in between in this area.

We had our wedding at ScienceWorks and it was the PERFECT VENUE! Our guests (kids AND adults!) had a blast playing with the exhibits and the outdoor area -- with views of Grizzly Peak -- was beautiful for our ceremony and reception. My boyfriend and I came out here from Sacramento CA for a family wedding and decided to take his daughter here to kill some time. Not only is this place cute and adventurous for kids, the staff was fantastic! One of the lovely front desk helpers told us about some great places to check out while we're in town. Loved it, so far everything has been fantastic about this beautiful town!

Lovely science museum! We are ATSC members and have visited several kid's museums across the US. We see a lot of the same exhibits, but this museum had a lot of unique ones we hadn't seen before. The signage on HOW and WHY things work was excellent! We weren't confused about any of it. The place was astoundingly clean (especially considering a large field trip group left as we were arriving). The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming and there was a perfect gift shop near the exit. The only thing that could be better was outside signage. It took more effort finding it than it should have, but I would highly recommend the experiencing for discoverers of all ages!

We went around 3:30 to 4 pm (they closed at 5) and it was fairly empty. This was great for the kids we had in our group, as it allowed them time to experience the different displays at their own pace.
I think some of the mechanical displays were out of service, but my 8 year old absolutely loved what was still available.
I couldn't help but think that some of the displays were perfectly meant for hyper-brain kids, since it slows them down enough to stop and focus, while not being too difficult to play with.
Much love to the person at the front desk, they were very kind, informative, and patient!
It is run by the county now. They have made improvements and are making more. It's a nice place to camp, with nice trails nearby, but you can't directly access the lake from the campground.
If you show up without reservations, there may be spaces available for one or two nights. It's an interesting system because if you try to book online, you can't book any sooner than 3 days after the day that you are on the system.

Someone had passed and we got the whole family together to go and celebrate their life. It's a first come first serve kind of park. Once we got there, we started the barbecue and got everything together including a memorial board. Then some so-called Church moves in and tells us that they have reserved the space that we are on, which we know is absolute bull on account of the area being first come, first serve. Rather than arguing with a bunch of people who wouldn't know what Jesus would do if he showed them, we moved to the area next to it which was absolutely flooded from a broken sprinkler line. Mud everywhere. I wish I remembered the name of that church so I could put them on blast. They're Minister was pretending to be understanding while he was lying to us about the reservation. Other than that experience, and the broken water main which made everything up muddy mess, the Park was okay.

Beautiful camp ground and park setting. Rest rooms and year-round camping. The lost creek lake is at low levels this time of year (fall), so it's a bit of a walk to the water. There are many hiking trails in the area around the lake, and a nice drive is approximately 30+ miles to Crater Lake.

Amazing camping ground!! The sites are HUGE!!! And very clean! So much fun! We will definitely be coming back! And with more people! This was one of the best campgrounds I’ve been too! Feels like you are miles for anywhere but really you are only about 20 mins from a town if you really need anything

We absolutely love this park!! All of the sites are roomy, clean, and well kept. Only downfall is the entire park (4 loops) has 1 sewage dump and 1 trash receptacle. So we have to take trash daily by vehicle or bicycle to the exit and we have to watch our black/gray tank usage because we don’t want to have to hook up to our trailer halfway through our camp to dump. Oh and another downfall is only 30 amp, our trailer requires 50….so we just can’t run AC and microwave at the same time

Well maintained and beautiful campground.
The spaces are a decent distance from each other yet still good for family or friend groups.
The bathrooms are mainly clean and well maintained. Womens side in D loop had a few issues with shower stalls and a broken toilet.
The firepits and grills are good for cooking.
D loop doesn't have connections but they do have water spigots, the other 3 loops have electric and water connections.
The camp hosts are friendly and do their best to keep it respectful, peaceful, and try to maintain the quiet hours. Some campers may feel they are nosy, but if you're breaking the rules and being disrespectful to the other campers, then who's really the assh$%e?

Five star campground with all the amenities— perfect for bringing my older mom camping :) It’s a beautiful area with many, many campsites that are a good distance away from each other. There’s a gorgeous meadow and a variety of trees we thought were “perfect” specimens. Clean bathrooms with four stalls, warm water at four sinks, and showers. Super comfortable “glamping” style accommodations. I’m not used to this level of amenities as I usually camp in primitive sites with outhouses! The lake is not really accessible from the campground (though visible), but a mile or two down the road is a boat ramp / lake access. We loved it here. Super grateful to have found it and will likely be coming back!

Not too far off the beaten path up to Crater Lake. It's right on the edge of Lost Creek Lake. Like a park in most areas. Green grass. Sprinklers go all day. And night. Campsites have enough space between them. Our neighbors and us were trying out our new to us camping trailers. Very clean and quiet. Good showers. Views of the lake are the best mainly from the dry hookup sites.
Walking paths surrounding the park and over to the boat landing and clubhouse.
Our dogs loved it.

National forest waterfall with 2 80 & 40-foot tiers & viewing platform accessed via a forest trail.
Stumbled upon this on accident and I'm so glad I did, beautiful drive to the falls with an actual parking lot. The hike is short but moderate as the way to the falls is mainly uphill but so worth it. There are benches to sit on and admire the falls at the end.

Nice trail it’s only 1/4 mile to the falls. It has a nice viewing deck there to see the falls. It’s accessible in the snow just make sure you bring hiking boots the trail gets slippery and wet in snow.

Don't believe the raves about this place and it's beauty. I fell for it and was hugely disappointed. It is a nice waterfall, but the length of time it takes to find the waterfall is ridiculous and it didn't even turn out to be all that, not really worth it.
It's also easy to miss the turn off, because Apple Maps isn't completely accurate and because the cell signal drops off - it's important to really pay attention, or else a few u-turns or several point turns will be required on a narrow two way road.
I can't understand the big push of "Must See" or "Don't Miss Out" because no one can get that close from a birds-eye perspective.
There is a huge hole in the wire fence, that should be fixed, cause a small child could fall through it and
1. DIE
or
2. Get seriously injured
It's too bad the persons responsible for the safety of this area, haven't seen the necessity to fix it.
I can understand the need of hikers or other interested parties who want to see the waterfall up close, it probably is a better view. But there should be a trail, rather than jumping through a not so safe hole in the wire fencing.
The fencing is in place for a reason. Safety reasons!
Parking (only 10 spots) wasn't such a pain, b/c I got sucked into the hype of these falls and went early. There was only two other cars, when I arrived around 10a & the short trail to the overlook area was an easy calm walk.
There are no fees to view this waterfall. But I can honestly say, it's not as glorious or magnificent as so many instagrammers and other reviewers 'say' it is.

The hike itself was very beautiful and right in the parking lot there’s this old pipeline that looks really magical and rustic. The view of the falls is from a viewing platform so you can’t get too close to it. But the hike up you go along the river and you can see all these mossy plants and trees that are very serene and pretty. Lots of steps and stairs but fairly easy hike

A ten minutes hike and you'll see the most beautiful waterfall in the area. In my opinion, it's not the tallest, nor the widest.. but it's definitely the most wonderful one. Due to the water colors and the environment it becomes a phenomenal waterfall in o watch and you can literally found yourself just hanging there for a whole hour! Highly recommend! Please do yourself a favor and come visit this waterfall when it's a sunny day outside

Where do I even start… such a beautiful waterfall. The hike is little .5 to the viewing platform… a little note… if you go and there’s more people think of others and move so everyone gets a good photo opportunity. I drove from California and I felt like someone people just don’t think of others… I wish they would do some type of stairs to go down so people have access to the bottom and so they don’t keep breaking thru the fencing…

I was blown away by how beautiful it is. The trail is very well maintained and easy. There are a couple of sections that have stairs, so it is a little workout, but you will forget all about that once you get to the falls. This is the most beautiful waterfall I have seen to date. I went on a weekday in the afternoon so there was only one other car in the parking lot. Very nice and quiet.

Vasy trail that is less than 0.5mile (one way) and takes about half an hour. There are a few spots where you can get pretty close to the water. You get a beautiful view of the waterfall at the end. The trail is very well maintained and they built staircase in the areas where you have to go up and down in elevation.

What a place! One of the wonders of the US.
The parking lot is adjacent to an old wooden water line that has sprung leaks in it. It’s unnerving just walking along side it. It’s like 10 feet tall with high powered h2O spraying out of it all over. I feared it would just burst if I even looked at it wrong.
Hiking to the falls is beautiful in of itself. The falls overlook was nice. We were somewhat confused that there was no “official” trail leading to the falls since we’ve seen people down below online. Beside the overlook is a super sketchy descent not for the faint of heart. I am not faint of heart so I hopped the railing and rappelled down by rope.
Because traffic is low at the falls (not many people brave the descent), you basically have the place to yourselves (with a few other brave souls).
There was no way I was not going to take a swim so I did. The water is cold and refreshing. I loved it!

If I had more time, I might have figured out how to get to the bottom where I see a few people, but today was just to the viewing platform. The falls looked great from a distance, and the hike was super easy. A few older people, kids, and some people barefoot made it. Halfway along the short path is a spot to climb down and get close to some water rushing by.

Beautiful place to see for sure. It was around 81 degrees. Little bits of mud here and there but other than that the hike to the falls was incredible! Lots of people with their dogs visiting as well. The only bad thing I can say about this area is the outdoor bathroom was really intolerant. The forest service must do a better job of maintaining the public toilet.

So beautiful. Such amazing views here. Not sure what it's like during the summer months, but if you visit during the winter then it's very likely that you will be the only ones there. Having the place to yourself definitely adds to the experience

An great place to stop and stretch the legs with a short walk along the gorge. Signs provide information for an easy self guided tour!

Free road side attraction. Formed 7, 000 years ago when mount Mazama collapsed. Visit Crater Lake first then stop would be my suggestion.

We just happened to see this place on our way to Crater Lake. A serene and beautiful place. The gorge was eye catching.

Visitor facility with nature exhibits, bookstore, scenic lake views & access to Garfield Peak Trail.
Crater Lake is the real 5star here. The visitor center is fine. Typical overpriced National Park gear to buy in the gift shops. Didn't have any issues with the park rangers or staff. Some of the buildings are in the process or being updated or renovated. Some of the grounds too, so some places are not accessible. But people come here for the amazing view of the lake. The Rim Village buildings are decent amenities.

This was a great experience. Walls of snow all the way around but all the roads were completely clear. It was an amazing sight to see. They have the gift shop and diner open. Once you climb on top of the snow wall to get a picture that's when the wind kicks in. Make sure you dress warm and have shoes with some grip.

Visited on a weekend in mid June, 2023. Nice little visitors center. But the real action is right outside. Crater Lake is just breath taking beauty. Worth the trip to see this marvel of nature.
They had roads closed because of excess snow. In mid June. But it's not surprising seeing how much snow we had seen driving in before entering the park.

Such a beautiful place to visit! We went two weeks ago and there was too much snow to hike any trails unless you had proper gear...We will revisit when it warms back up!

It's 30$ for a car load for 7 days. It's magnificent, it was the most beautiful lake I've ever seen. It's 30+ miles around the lake, there are viewpoints and other cool things to see even a spot to go down to the water. Yes, you can swim in the lake. It's just extremely cold bc the lake is made up of rain water and melted ice. There's also a tour boat to take you to the island. Most definitely worth the trip and money!!!

I visited this area on New Years Day… it was an amazing winter wonderland! I will be back in summer to explore the rest of the park, but winter will be hard to beat!
Just know that the rim road and much of the park is closed down or extremely hard to visit in the winter months due to heavy seasonal snowfall

Nice gift shop! Went to Crater Lake and it was really foggy, we were planning on sticking around most of the day and we were glad we did because it cleared up beautifully. We also hiked to the bottom of the Crater, not for the faint of heart. Going down was easy, coming back was definately hard for this out of shape traveler and left me out of breath.

Friends said- There's no place quite like Crater Lake! And they didn't exagerate. We happened to be at Rim Village just for the few moments when the lake's surface was mirror smooth, with the sky reflected in the water. I was speechless. (And I've done a lot of traveling in the world, and seen much of the beauty...This was stunning.) Make sure that Crater Lake is on your bucket list... and be patient, you may get a view reflected on the lake surface. There is on hiking path down to the lake, but unless you are an experienced, fit hiker, I suggest you content yourself with views from the rim. AND I got a hat.

Really cute gift shop and visitor center. Very small. This is where we found the stamp for our National park passport. Better selection of random gifts here, the other one down the road has a better selection of clothing

Visited Crater Lake with family in 1968. Blown away as a kid by the size, the beauty and the idea a volcano had blown up leaving a lake on a mountain top. Moving to Oregon recently I have visited twice in non-peak times to enjoy the area without all the people. Something I picked up living for years in Wyoming. The drive to the area goes through fabulous national forests making the drive worth the time even without the lake. I think the next visit will include a stay at the grand hotel during the summer even with all the visitors. Included are photos from winter and the fall. Bring chains in the winter!!

This is a great place to start your exploration of the area. The gift shop has a lot of nice tourist items at a reasonable price. They also have a little snack bar. The views are beautiful.
Rebecca Hardgrave — Google review
Incredible views of the lake after you walk past the gift shop. There is more parking past the initial lot. There is also a lookout point that was built into the side of mountain that has breathtaking views.
Bathrooms inside gift shop as well as a small eatery for coffee and snacks.
Highly recommend visiting to take in the views.
4th grade students can get a National Parks Pass which waived our entry fee.

Highly recommend! Small building but all they had for going to get a passport stamp. Lots of snow in June! Friendly staff. We were able to have the kids do their Junior ranger badge swearing in here. Great views!

We went in winter but it was so beautiful. The staff was friendly and it was breathtaking.

This was a great place to stop to View Crater Lake. The guides from the Park Service were walking around helping visitors and guiding them through the area. There was plenty of wildlife and we got to play with snow in July. The cost varies, but it’s the standard National Park Vehicle fee.

Crater Lake National Park, Rim Village, OR 97604, USA
On Day 8 of your trip, consider an early start to visit Crater Lake, Oregon's most famous national park. Located about 1.5 hours from Bend/Sunriver, the northern entrance offers a full day of exploration. For accommodation, Melitas Crater Lake is situated 44 kilometers from the park's south entrance and provides various amenities including Wi-Fi and outdoor picnic areas. The main attraction is the stunning lake, but there are also numerous activities to enjoy within the park.
When we visited Crater Lake National Park it was just starting to thaw around the lake. The snow was still piled high around the parking lot so it was difficult to navigate and get to many of the areas. That being said, it was still worth going out to see the park. It truly is breathtaking to see in person and the vast size of the lake is amazing. I wish we would have come at sunset or sunrise to see how the reflections of the lake change as I am sure that is quite the sight to see! This is a great day adventure by yourself or with the family and there is plenty of other wilderness around the park to make the trip even better.

I'm only writing this review and posting these pics because I want people to know how beautiful Crater Lake is. What I like about this area of Oregon is how you can hit Salt Creek Falls and Vivian Falls/lake, Deschutes River, and Crater Lake all in the area. Crater Lake is probably the most beautiful Park I've been too and I travel a lot. I hope you are able to get out there as well.

Amazing view! Go early in the morning if you want to visit Crater Lake on the weekend.(It starts to get crowded around 10am, and if you arrive early theres more parking.) Their is also an entry fee of $30 and its a week pass.

Incredible in spring as well.
We stopped by at noon because we were driving by. It was very snowy and since we didn’t have any snow shoes and limited time we didn’t hike far but the snow ramp had amazing views anyway. If you want to hike, definitely bring snow shoes.

Crater Lake should be on everyone's bucket list of places to see. It is truly an unbelievable site. Be sure to check the weather before you go to the Crater Lake and check if entry points are closed. I went on October 1st, and it snowed that day, and the northern entrance was closed. We drove to the southern entrance, and everything was open so we were good. Just be prepared when planning a trip here.

I have visited this national park 3 times. It's a new experience every time! A great time to visit is late spring, as you can still enjoy the snow at milder temperatures. Clear skies in late spring really show off that sapphire blue. To enjoy more hiking trails, then come in early summer. Many trails are still closed in springtime, however there are less visitors during April and May. Oregon state and private campgrounds can be found at lower elevations if camping at the NP are full.

Best lake in the US! Every viewpoint looks beautiful! Check their website before heading over there. Fill your tank completely before driving in the Crater Lake.

Beautiful lake. Lodge has restaurant, but they stop serving food between 2 and 3 pm. Trolley tours sold separately and seemed a bit pricey if you have a family. Take a jacket or sweater since it is windy and chilly.
Guerra Benavides — Google review
Outstanding place to visit with friends and family. The views are spectacular and well worth the trip. We took the trolley which you have to reserve at least a day prior and then pay, check in and hop in. It takes 2hrs with multiple stops for the trolley to show you all the amazing views and tell you about the history of the park. I highly recommend this location.

This place is amazing and totally worth it. Be sure to check the weather conditions to ensure the roads are ok. We went in March and there was still snow.
Nean Péng — Google review
Crater Lake is one of those known but overlooked national parks it seems. The park itself is not super big and you can see most of the main areas in a half day whish is nice.
One thing to track is road closures as this park will sometimes get a lot of snow and have limited access till late summer. Those with kids will find some fun activities in the lower visitor center. Also don't forget to get the JR. ranger packet so the kids can earn there park ranger badge by completing the items in the book.
If visiting Crater Lake, make sure to check out some of the caves in the area as this was once a hot spot for volcanos so there are lots of spelunking opportunities. Note: make sure to pack good flashlights (torch for the England types) as these caves are DARK and your cell phone will not do much.
Adam Cook — Google review
Awesome experience! If you have the chance to take the ranger guided snow shoe tour, do it! The actual access to the lake was closed due to 14 feet of snow fall overnight.
Avian Rose — Google review
Crate Lake is a sight to behold.. It is so crystal clear that it is like a mirror to look at. As such the clouds and such just reflect off the water to give you some spectacular views and pictures. There is still snow in places in mid June, 2023. Rim Drive was closed because of snow on the road. So our access was limited. But what we got to see was worth it.
It can be a little daunting having to sit in line and wait for access to the park sometimes. But it is very much worth the wait.
There is a gift shop and restaurant at the park entrance off or route 62. It has restrooms and a gift shop. But it also has a small restaurant that has more quick food. There is a visitors center up at the lake itself. And of course the crater lake lodge.
I can't say enough how the views at crater lake make it a place you really should see. It was one of the nicest places we've seen on our trip around the country.
Sponge Bob — Google review
Crater Lake was more than worth the stop. I wish I could've taken a boat tour down within the crater itself, but I'll look to next time for that. The view from the rim was absolutely breathtaking and pristine. It is vast and peacefully quiet, truly like looking upon a piece of art within a museum.
Scot Carrington — Google review
Super cool place to visit, not far from highway and intense blue color of the water is very different from what is usually the color we see bodies of water.
Also there are many many spots to pull over at, so you can do it all by car if you wanted.
This was one of the highlights of my trip.
Humberto Herrera — Google review
Awesome, as always. The eastern section of the park was closed for road work. The place could use a few more restrooms at the viewpoints. The usual amount of Darwin Award candidates were present, standing on the edge beyond the signs and fences.
J Prall — Google review
Great place to visit if you love nature! We really enjoyed ourselves here, although the food at the Rim Lodge was expensive and they didn't have all the stuff on the menu!
Reno Black — Google review
I have been meaning to come to this park for a decade, and it just hasn't happened. I'm glad I finally made it. It is a beautiful place to be, and you really don't get the same experience looking at photos. Right now, the East rim is shut down for the next few years, to repave it and make it safer.
If you want to be able to see inside the visitor center, which has more educational material, that is only open between may and August, so we missed it. There is a park ranger on hand if you have questions or want to get more information, but he was very reluctant to answer any questions. I found this odd as that is the reason he stands there, next to the visitor center.
Dogs are allowed on leash as long as they are well-behaved. Unfortunately, while we were there, there were a couple of older ladies who had wire-haired terriers of some kind, who were dog vicious... even if on leash. Our dog tripped over herself, trying to get away when they lunged at her, and the older ladies clearly were not in control and struggled to pull those dog aggressive terriers back physically.. I could hear that they were using shock collars, but the dogs were ignoring it. I was very disappointed to see the park rangers did not intervene or say one word to the ladies with the vicious dogs.
There are banded chipmunks running all over the place, and they will try to steal your food from you.
Gift shop is all China important junk. As is typical, it is all extremely overpriced. The bathrooms are outside of the gift shop in a building by themselves next to the paved walkpath with the viewpoints of crater Lake. There is also an interpretive area giving you more education about the area, the lake, and all the volcanoes in the area, down a steep, paved decline, and some steps. I found out that the center has been there since nineteen-thirty, so some of those steps are rather uneven, and they can be a trip hazard, as some of the patrons experienced heading back up.
Overall, it was a fun and interesting place to see once.

We went in early June. Still lots of snow and the north side of rim drive was still closed. With the north side closed you can't get on any of the boat tours either. If you want to do some hiking or get on a boat I'd recommend July or Aug. What a wonderful place.

Purest water 💧 in a natural water body!
Crater Lake is a stunning natural wonder located in the South Oregon. It's known for its vibrant deep blue color.
The lake fills the caldera of Mount Mazama, which is a volcano that collapsed thousands of years ago.
There are no rivers or streams that flow into or out of Crater Lake. It's primarily fed by precipitation, and the water is exceptionally pure.
It's the deepest lake in the United States, with a maximum depth of approximately 1,943 feet (592 meters).
The park offers various outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, and scenic drives. Wizard Island, a volcanic cinder cone, is a popular attraction within the lake.
Crater Lake is surrounded by diverse flora and fauna, and it's a beautiful place for nature enthusiasts and photographers.

What an amazing place! Loads of hikes, phenomenal scenery, the purest water you've ever seen!! Full of birds, butterflies, chipmunks, and squirrels; it's nature's paradise. Go for the day, or go for the week. Your $30 pass is good for 7 days!
So much to see and do. There are gift shops, restaurants, hiking trails, and even a lodge.
Although many bring their pets/dogs, be aware that they are not allowed inside places like the gift shops and restaurants. They are also not allowed on some of the steep lookouts or trails. And even on a 70-degree day, it's way too hot for your pet to be left inside your car. Keep in mind that the elevation is 7,000 feet. So, although the air temp may not be really hot, you are much closer to the sun, and your dog will overheat in the car literally, in a matter of minutes.
The views are stunning. You won't want to miss it!
